Pickity Place

$$$$affordable
Restaurant
Fixed-price luncheons & a gift shop in a circa-1786 cottage & garden of Little Red Riding Hood fame.
Walking through the gardens before and after our meals was nice. Service was fast and friendly. Food was also delicious. Can't wait to go back when the menu changes next month.
Darian K — Google review
Charming atmosphere, delightful restaurant and grounds. Food thoughtfully curated and plated with an emphasis on playfully herb flavor. Unique as it is delightful. One of the best priced dining experiences we've seen. Complementary drinks-the lavender lemonade is to die for
D — Google review
What a treat! A hidden treasure and treat! I randomly discovered this place on trip advisor as I perused the internet for quaint places in NH to visit. The drive to get there is beautiful. It is seems hidden as it is tucked away in the amazing tiny NH village of Mason. You feel like a kid in this schoolhouse style building where a school bell is rung to let you know it's time to go in and eat. The grounds were filled with a brilliant array of summer flowers. The walk throughout the garden was a wonderful mix of various refreshing aromas. In "Grandma's house" located in the garden you may spot an imposter in her bed as you enjoy the many scents of the drying flowers and herbs. This family style restaurant had excellent service and delicious food. This is a great spot for friends to get together or a couple to enjoy a nice lunch. The space is tight but cozy! I was lucky. I only got in because a reservation cancelled. My meal was perfect. More than my money's worth! Absolutely Sated! I was there in mid September and I will return in October(to try out the autumn menu)!!! Truly a must visit "Quaint Place".
Paula J — Google review
Amazing experience and the grounds were beautiful! The gift shop and garden center were gorgeous, the staff super friendly, and the whole visit just felt really pleasant. We lucked out with a reservation the day before (seems rare from other reviews lol), and even though it’s on a dirt road, GPS took us right there. Food and drinks were excellent and super “instagramable”. The price is all-inclusive—including drinks—which felt like a great deal. In today’s world, where lavender lemonade is $7 and coffee is $5, it was nice to get a cup of coffee with dessert without extra charges. That said, my entree (the orange sesame chicken) was underwhelming…. Overly sweet, and the rice was mushy with many broken grains. I love a good Asian-fusion dish but the rice alone shows the kitchen doesn’t quite have the technique down. My friend’s garden vegetable dish was 10x better. She gave the food 10/10. That said, amazing value, great food, and I’ll 100% be back
Mindy C — Google review
Great getaway destination for lunch. The gardens are beautiful, unpretentious. The food and lemonades were delightful. A memorable excursion, worth the trip. Very reasonably priced as everything is included for just over $30. Definitely make reservations as they do scheduled seatings.
Kristi L — Google review
Always impressed with the food here. We took our visiting relatives here. Their menu is basically a single multi course offering with some variations. Even so it seems to not matter because every course tastes great even if it’s something you would never think to order the given course at another restaurant. Chefs and staff are impressive. A great place to bring people, have a good time, try different types of food, and converse about what you like. Will continue our yearly trip to them.
Rich F — Google review
We drove an hour and a half to get to this place. It is a little piece of heaven, but the restaurant is so tiny it only handles a handful of people. I would encourage management to consider expanding or rearranging things so that the place can handle the amount of people that take the time to drive and visit. We were starving upon arrival, and left even more starving.
Val N — Google review
Wow! My husband took me for our anniversary and it was AMAZING!!! Six courses and every item was outstanding. The greenhouse and outer gardens were peaceful, the gift shop and herb shops were delightful, and the dining experience was very elegant. The only reason I gave a "4" on atmosphere was due to the noise level. My husband is hearing impaired, and we found it hard to communicate during the meal since there was so much activity and chatter. It's not a quiet, romantic atmosphere but most definitely a one-of-a-kind experience. Reservations are required since they have limited seating.

Marc Jacobs - Merrimack Premium Outlets

Outlet store
Shopping
Stylish fashion designer brand whose products include clothing, accessories, fragrances & more.
Kiana was more than helpful when I went to this location in Merrimack. Couldn’t find the shoes I was looking for I ended up leaving sad and as I walked by a couple hours later, she actually chased me down and had looked for and found the shoes that I really wanted. Super impressed highly recommend. 🙌🔥❤️
Kalenda D — Google review
Such a wonderful location!!! Ryan and Amie were both incredibly sweet and helpful, with both my questions and my purchase. Would definitely recommend!

The women Kiana that helped me last night was wonderful and so patient with my indecisiveness! 🤣 Will definitely be coming back soon!

Thank you ! We had an amazing experience with Anastasia ! Super friendly and helpful ! We will definitely come back ! 🤓🤓🤓

Terrible customer service. I don't know why, but they spoke to me condescendingly and refused to refund money for a product that I didn't use and had all the appropriate tags that indicated that the product was new and unused... I don't know the reasons for this attitude, but in any case, I don't recommend this store.
Irina — Google review
I had the worst experience here. The girl working on Saturday, July 13th, was incredibly rude to my mother and me. I take my time with big purchases like bags because I know I'll use them often. I was deciding between a bag in the store and a Coach bag I saw recently. She asked if we needed help three times in 30 minutes, and each time I politely declined. The last time, she asked if we needed help with prices, and I politely declined again and smiled, but she gave a rude look afterward. I always try to assume the best, so I left with my mom and asked if it was just me or if she really was being rude. My mom noticed her tone and expression, and we were both very offended. I left quickly because she made me uncomfortable, but I knew I wanted to buy a small coin purse. I was nervous to return because I hate confrontation and felt so unwelcome. When we came back, she sarcastically said, "Welcome back." The man who rang us up was kind and non-judgmental. I don't know what her problem was. I don't know if she thought we were stealing or couldn't afford anything, but she was very rude. I mean it's the Marc Jacob OUTLETS! Why are we behaving like this? Immediately after I drove to a coach store and bought the other bag I had been looking for. Maybe I am sensitive, but she ruined my day and I hope she stops being such a mean girl (atleast when she's at work). BOO! 🍅 🍅 🍅

Budweiser Brewery Experience

Brewery
Food & Drink
Event venue
The Budweiser Brewery Experience in Merrimack offers a smooth and efficient pickup process with polite and helpful staff at the guard shack. The yard provides ample parking space with clear markings and good lighting. Visitors can enjoy outdoor concerts with easy access to food trucks and beer tents, as well as clean restroom facilities. Drivers also report quick unloading times, while the brewery tour is highly praised for its engaging and entertaining guides.
Our tour was absolutely fantastic! Monique was an absolute gem, a wealth of knowledge and easy to communicate with. Our family enjoyed our experience with her very much! If you want to have some fun and learn a lot, go take a tour with Monique! As for the suits of the company, I hope you know what you have in her as an employee! What a great ambassador for your company!
Dawn C — Google review
The brewery tour is great, I 100% recommend it. Monique is a wonderful tour guide. She is very knowledgeable about the industrial brewing process. She is very willing to accommodate ways to make the tour better, as the manufacturing schedule allows.

Attended the Bounce Blast! Super fun., plenty of choices for food and drink

Monique was the best tour guide we ever had. We have done over 30 brewery tours around the country and Monique by far is the best. She was very informative and had the best personality.

Horses are no longer at the Merrimack location, but the toyr was more comprehensive and personal than in days past.. get three tastings and some giveaways for the vip tour...walk through and saw into the big brew vats..
Sharon B — Google review
For truck receiving man If i could do -1 million stars i would do it. It’s been almost 7 hours and still nothing from now on as soon i see this location i will say no. This place takes a lot of time to unload a trailer that wasn’t even full it was like half trailer and still
Jose A — Google review
Have been on three tours now, and loved every one of them. Started with the free tour, then did the Beer Master tour, and last night I went on the Christmas lights tour. The tour guides are all knowledgeable and very friendly. I would recommend taking a tour if you haven't already done so.
Jim K — Google review

Currier Museum of Art

Art museum
Museums
The Currier Museum of Art boasts an extensive collection of both European and American art, ranging from the works of Monet to O'Keeffe. The museum also features a wide selection of decorative pieces in its expansive space. Visitors can expect to see a variety of modern and contemporary art alongside American crafts, including several paintings from the Hudson Valley school. Notable highlights include pieces by Picasso and Van Gogh, making it a highly recommended destination for art enthusiasts.
I cannot tell you the last time I was this entranced by an art museum. It is the perfect size to absorb in a visit, not overwhelming or complicated. Well-curated with regularly rotating special exhibits. They also host special events every 1st Thursday of the month from 5-8pm where admission is free and they have a speaker come talk. There is also a very tasty cafe in the middle of the museum. Cannot recommend this place enough!
Blair B — Google review
I've been to museums all over the world from the Getty to the Met to the Louvre, and from free parking to congenial ticketing to the cafe and galleries, the Currier is in my top favorites. It's such a cool space and history of how the museum came to be. Mix of modern and classic. The cafe has maybe 75' high ceilings, very airy, fantastic coffee and food menu. Thanks to the Curriers for making it possible! The tour of two Frank Lloyd Wright houses was well organized, informative enough to have felt like a true lecture, and very convivial with the guides and guests. Totally worth a drive specifically to the Currier for the museum and home tours (which you can check the ticket availability online. Museum entrance is currently included in the house tour ticket price.)
Susie W — Google review
I try and immerse myself in as many art museums as I can. While I am not a fan of modern art, I found that this collection was a great blend of combining different aspects of art, and they have a great amount of space, and their staff was pretty great too. I can’t wait to go back. And the lavender lemonade at the cafe was pretty great. ❤️
Maegan S — Google review
The Currier is a charming and interesting gallery of some lovely pieces. We went for the tour of the two Frank Lloyd Wright houses that the museum owns which was well worth the costs. Make sure you get your tickets in advance!
Gerry S — Google review
We came over for the kick-off event for Manchester art week and had an awesome time. This museum is amazing! We will definitely be back for the furniture exhibit next month!
Douglas D — Google review
Staff and volunteers are fantastic! The museum has a few pieces from Masters, which are worth visiting. I'd never gotten the appeal of Picasso from pictures of his work. The real thing is totally different. But this collection has a fantastic depth for a small museum. Lots of paintings, and there's sculpture, glasswork, a handful of stunning cabinets and a gallery of modern pieces that are fascinating. Easy parking, reasonable entry fees and benches all over make this a comfortable visit, too. Staff and volunteers were lovely balancing letting folk absorb and giving information. Love the gallery of staff favorites!
Melissa T — Google review
An excellent mid-sized museum. Large collections ranging from ancient to modern. Wonderful gallery space and the cafe’s food was great. I am beyond impressed by their not 1 but 2 excellent Frank Lloyd Wright Usonian homes available for tours. Both are in remarkably good condition. We went way way out of our way to see this museum and it was so very worth it.
Michael M — Google review
A lovely museum with a nice collection. We especially loved our tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright houses. Our son is interested in architecture and I loved that he got to learn about all the details. Most tickets were sold out the week we went. So glad I got tickets in advance.

Livingston Park

Park
Nature & Parks
Livingston Park offers a variety of recreational activities for all ages, including a running track, baseball diamond, playground, swimming pool and boardwalk surrounding a shallow pond. The park's well-maintained sports fields provide ample space for outdoor games, while the one-mile trail through the woods is perfect for jogging or walking with plenty of shaded areas.
Great mile walk around the pond. Clean, maintained walking area. Bathrooms on site. Playground for the little ones. Picnic areas. Beautiful spot!
Katie S — Google review
Given its location, visiting Livingston Park surprises me every time 😊 It's located in a very convenient location, and there are plenty of side trails worth exploring! The main loop, approximately a mile in length, is designed for everyone. Its level terrain and accessibility make it an inclusive trail that welcomes all, regardless of their hiking experience.
Benjamin M — Google review
Nice well used circular trail the pond is great to view. There a few places to stop and just enjoy the pond. It nice seeing a variety of people getting enjoying this in town gem.
Kaaren W — Google review
Puppy Approved! Charlie and I went for a walk around the pond late afternoon/early on a Thursday evening in mid-August and, unsurprisingly, arrived to see a lot of activity in the park. The playground looked manageably busy, the fields had soccer games/practice with what looked like a an adult league, and a pretty steady flow of walkers, runners, families with kids, couples, and dog walkers around the pond. We didn’t make it to the pool or the track but I did see quite a few cars over by the track. Despite all of the goings on, parking was a breeze. The sidewalk near the parking lot and restrooms had a couple spots that could have used a cleanup but overall the trail and adjacent benches, offshoot trails, and openings were clean. It is Manchester so, unfortunately, there is a risk you may find a discarded needle somewhere but we didn’t see any. The people we encountered primarily appeared to be there for recreation although there was 1 gentleman that seemed a little out of place. We’ve found it to be safe but don’t take it for granted - you should have a phone when you come. Doggy bag dispensers were empty so make sure you come prepared. The park is a great resource to have in the city and overall it’s a great place to get outside and get moving. Charlie gets excited anytime we drive anywhere near it now.
Ryan T — Google review
Lovely little spot for a peaceful stroll or reading on a bench. The grounds are well-kept, with mature trees providing shade, and you’ll find a calming, quiet atmosphere even within city limits. Great place to pause and unwind for a few minutes. We usually walk around the pond (1.2 mile loop) that's well maintained and pet friendly
Sampath D — Google review
I've always enjoyed the walk here. Well maintained. Not to long, not to short. Scenic all seasons. Ducks hang out in the pond. Great place for a picnic, if people would pick up after themselves:( Public bathrooms available, not outhouses. The bathrooms are a little beat up but useable. Playground active with children. Manchester public pool next door. Update: June, 2020; Still an enjoyable walk! Listening to birds, seeing chipmunks and a family of ducks, people fishing and on their canoes. Moderately busy. Picked up, but, trash cans were overflowing. Bathrooms were closed. Update: July 2025; Access to the Dorrs 🎵 Break on through to the other side!🎵 Pond Trail is the highlight of the Park. My kids and I enjoy the walk here. The pond, not named Amy, is used for ⛸️ skating in the winter ❄️. There is a paved small boat 🚢 access available. I picked up a shopping 🛍️ bag worth of trash 🗑️ along the trail. I have been on trails in Manchester that have been worse. There is a makeshift bridge that leads to Pine 🎍 (?) Tree 🌲 Island 🏝️. The small island is in good 👍 shape but I think 🤔 it was used by the homeless people once. This park is popular and I have seen out of state license 🪪 🍽️ plates here.
Stephen P — Google review
Love this park. You can run, jog, walk or enjoy playing with the kids on the playground. Plenty of parking, it's free, and dog friendly. There is a large sized pond. I've seen kids fishing. There is a little boat launch. Trail is easy to walk. There are a few bridges. The walk is a mile loop Just a beautiful park.
Brenda C — Google review
Great place for a one mile hike around the pond. The paths are maintained well, and the park is teaming with water fowl, including ducks, geese and herons. The little bridge and wooden footpaths are wonderful. There are restrooms available right off the parking lot.

Pats Peak Ski Area

Ski resort
Nature & Parks
26 diverse trails, 3 terrain parks, night skiing, snow tubing & dining at a 1,460-foot summit.
I love this place! It’s beautiful and comfortable! The parking lot is convenient. There is a FREE beginners area, which is definitely suitable for beginners! Highly recommended for anyone new to skiing! My friend said other trails are not bad, though the routes are not very long but the surface is not icy, so it’s good for skiing. The staff who helped me register for the RFID card was so nice! I felt very welcomed 😇 There are two lodges, you can take rest here and buy some food if you want.
Kate — Google review
Brought my wife and father in law to Pats Peak for their first ski lesson and experience and couldn’t have been happier. They have a very reasonable starter package that’s complete with rentals, lessons, and a lift ticket for under $200. We missed our lesson time but Pats Peak was very accommodating and let us join the next lesson group with no trouble. I couldn’t believe how wonderful our lesson instructor, Shelly, was too! She took the time to teach the group beginning in the beginner area, moving to the next carpet area, and finally taking the group over to the valley to give instructions on how to get on a chair lift and have the confidence to go down an actual run multiple times. After the fantastic lesson, we ended up skiing the full day until our lift tickets expired! Thank you for turning two brand new skiers into life long enthusiasts. We will be back and looking into season tickets for next year!
Lane M — Google review
visited for the first time coming home from the big mountains up north. I have to say I really like this ski area. it's got some cool terrain and some fun park features. overall just a great time here. solid grooming operations and good attention to detail.
Tim D — Google review
This is a classic New England little ski resort with a little charm and a lot of very friendly and warm customer service people in every department. It’s a great family mountain. No apres’ ski scene but it makes no pretense of that. I enrolled my grandson I put my grandson in their bears camp for 2 days to learn snowboarding. The instructor was great.
Marcia C — Google review
We came all the way from the beach to Snowboard for 3 days and we loved Pat's Peak! Came Thurs night until close (9), Friday until close (10), and Sat last call 8-10. We loved the slopes. It's mid March so there were a lot of ice patches from everything melting, but that's due to the time of year we came. We rented gear since we were on a plane and the gear was really good. Worked well and clean. We love the wide slopes with plenty of room for everyone. Didn't feel crowded. The top of the mountain bonfire and bar was so fun! Only con I will say is that on this one lift, when it was late at night, the guy with the snow shovel would stand right in the way and every time I came off the lift I fell because he was in the way. Otherwise the staff were friendly. Food was expensive, but you can bring your own food. There are several fireplaces which was really nice. Elevator too.
Lisa O — Google review
Really convenient to get to from Boston. 1hr30 - 2hrs depending on traffic. Really nice people working the lifts. I dropped my mitten and skied back down to the lift, and they got my mitten with no problem. Definitely beginner & intermediate friendly here. Terrain park was fun. Just wish there were more small jumps
Isabel — Google review
I hesitate to write how much I like Pats Peak in Henniker, NH because I’m afraid it’ll be overrun! But I think they limit their ticket sales, thankfully. The scoop is, they have the best snowmaking and conditions around! Even last season (23/24) when snow was scant, the slopes still had plenty of coverage here and they do a wonderful job keeping it loose and not so icy as other mountains. It’s small, yes, but there is decent, varied terrain. I love the back side boost too. People who work here are friendly and welcoming. If you’re a newbie, you can get right to the slopes without mega walking. The food in the lodge is decent too and the lodge itself is great. I’m looking forward to hopefully more snow this next season. I want to try their glades! Til then, I’m remembering our ski days there with great fondness!
Jan A — Google review
First time at pats peak with a group of friends. Group sales were very helpful and they gave us the prices and everything, plain and straightforward. Very easy to get a group trip here unlike some other places, that didn’t have prices easily accessible and clear. They are much more organized, but they are lacking in the perks one would get for going here compared to other places. This is a cheaper option and has more trails than other mountains for groups. The lounge area was packed, so definitely go early to get a small room or book a room in advance. Food was very expensive compared to other places, and the lifts were very slow moving. The mountain scenery was very pretty, but they definitely need to up their game. The place was huge, so you had to walk a while to be able to go to group sales, to get rental equipment etc. At least it’s not hard to find or miss. The staff were all very helpful and professional. Would definitely come again as a group! A lot of the trails were not open when we went, but it was still really fun to go.

Mt Sunapee State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
A recreation area with a campground, resort, beach & seasonal activities, such as skiing & boating.
We go there on a regular basis. It's dog friendly and our dogs really enjoy the hike. At the top of the mountain you can get food and drinks. Highly recommend. It's a easy hike.
Sarah P — Google review
The $5 entrance fee is so much worth it. It's free after 5pm. Open 24/7 to the public. Bathrooms are closed at 5pm so plan accordingly. It seems like the trash policy is, carry-in carry-out. Very clean beach although small in size, people tend to be kind and share the space. Few grills are available to anyone. But I'll recommend bringing your own just in case. I had to learn the hard way. Overall great beach to relax and enjoy the beautiful mountain views and sunset.
AgbeJahyeh D — Google review
What a gorgeous place! Very polite and helpful staff. The lift ride was about 12-15 minutes each way and it was gorgeous. We were very lucky weather wise and got beautiful pictures. I would love to come back and explore more, maybe do the hike down, however tough to do with the 3 year old

I went yesterday. My favorite NH state park. Shallow water. Floats allowed. I love floating on a hot day. They have a nice little store for food. You can also buy or rent a float. Kayak rentals and boards rentals available. Grass area with shade trees. Grills, picnic tables are also available. Beautiful new playground. Clean bathrooms and separate changing rooms. The water has a nice, non-mucky bottom and is very clear.
Barbara W — Google review
Mount Sunapee State Park is a public recreation area located in Newbury, New Hampshire. The Park Beach, also referred to as Newbury Beach, offers a variety of amenities, including a bathhouse, a store, canoe and kayak rentals, a playground, and a restricted boat launch. A seasonal campground is conveniently situated off New Hampshire Route 103, along Upper Winding Mountain Road, with access through Mount Sunapee Resort. Visitors will find that the beach is typically well-maintained, and public restrooms are available in the bathhouse, where guests can shower and change during the swimming season. The small store offers snacks, drinks, and floatation devices for purchase. While I have not personally rented a kayak or canoe, these options are readily accessible. There is a service fee for park entry during peak hours, but entry is free after 6 o’clock. Additionally, parking is complimentary once the entrance fee is paid during peak hours and after hours. The park features two separate parking lots, along with a modest playground suited for children up to age 12. There are also numerous picnic tables and BBQ grills available for use. It is possible to make reservations for specific areas of the park, making it an excellent location for gatherings such as family reunions. Overall, the park provides a delightful option for a summer outing in the local area.

Sunapee is such a beautiful place - the lake is small, but pretty clean and not too deep. There are some grassy spots in addition to the beach, and a few picnic tables if you get there early enough to grab one. There's also a great little shop with snacks/drinks, ice cream treats, and inflatable tubes you can buy and have blown up!

First time at Sunapee Mountain! I usually ski in Northern New Hampshire and Maine at the BIG ski resorts. This place did not disappoint. I had so much fun skiing here. Beautiful trails and perfect snow conditions. Fast lifts and very organized staff to get skiers up the mountain in an orderly fashion. My favorite trail was Ridge. Beautiful scenery here and it overlooks Lake Sunappe too. Good food and drinks here. Loved the Irish coffee! Im coming back here again soon!!

Large park featuring lake swimming, scenic boulders, climbing, diverse wildlife & winter sports.
Easy registration online and great options for camping. Easy to find numbered sites. Nice views of Pawtuckaway Lake. Options for kayak rentals and other fun activities. Good for families and singles. Pretty quite.

Absolutely a wonderful stay. Very good pricing, beautiful campsites right by the water. Camp store with anything you would need. Very friendly staff :). We had a great time !

Fun gateway about an hour from Boston. Water activities are available as well. There are some decent hikes as well. The campsites seem to be well managed. We went in for kayaking, kayaks are kinda old but functional regardless. Only one staff designated for kayaking. There was no one to help with disembarking the kayak. Some older folks were having trouble due to it.

🌟 "Absolutely stunning during the fall season—nature at its best!" "One of the best spots to enjoy fall colors with peaceful hiking trails." "Perfect hike for autumn. Vibrant leaves, fresh air, and gorgeous views."

Very nice state park near the NH/ME border. We were here in the off-season and tent camped one night. The sites are far enough apart to offer a little privacy, they each have a picnic table, and a fire ring. Where we were the bathroom/showers were newly renovated and very nice. There is potable water nearby and the lake is crystal clear. Someone told me that they have some MTB trails here, there are definitely some hiking trails.

Great local state park to explore. Roads unpaved. Lots of wasps and bees around Tower. Round lake so beautiful, definitely will be back there. I was using "AllTrails" app, it was so helpful not to get lost in the woods

I love it here over the past 25 years…especially knowing it’s an ancient volcano with glacier giant boulder fields right here in southern New Hampshire!

Amazing park where you can hike, camp, swim, or boat. Swim: a nice sandy beach surrounded by pine trees. A dozen benches and grills in the shade of the forest. Swim area with maximum water depth of ~7 feet. Floats, tubes, snorkels, etc are allowed. No lifeguard on duty. Restrooms with running water on site and a convenience store nearby. Boat: kayak and canoe rental. Or bring your own boat (boat launch available). $10/car entrance fee (2025).

New Hampshire State House

Government Buildings
The New Hampshire State House, constructed in 1819, is the oldest state capitol building where the legislature still occupies its original chambers. It serves as the seat of the state legislature and houses the Governor, Executive Council, and General Courts. The building boasts a gold dome and offers visitors a chance to explore its history through tours and a gift shop. With its rich historical significance and grand architecture, it stands as an iconic landmark in New Hampshire.
A lot of history. The guided tour is very instructive and fun. The sculpture of Christa Mcauliffe was just dedicated two days ago (September 2024). Recommend it.

Perhaps my favorite state capitol building in the country, the New Hampshire State House is a historic gem! The architecture is stunning, and the grounds are well-maintained. Makes me wonder if Notre Dame University visited this building for inspiration, before constructing the Golden Dome.

We really enjoyed our experience at the New Hampshire capital building. We left Montpelier and drove to Concord. The grounds were nice and enjoyed all the statues out front. It isn't as impressive as some larger ones we have seen but was still pretty spectacular. I thought it was great to see the new one of Christa McCullough.

We had the opportunity/honor to visit the New Hampshire State House Capitol in JUL_FY2024 and it was an amazing experience, a great opportunity to learn more about NH's history and legacy. We did a plant tour and for sure it's a remarkable building. Definitely, it's a place that deserves my respect. It was a privilege.

I visited inside years ago and watched a debate take place on an issue. I don't know what it looks like inside now, but, the outside looks great with the golden dome shining in the sun or lights at night. The grounds look great and are popular. I've sat across the street at the Barley House and had dinner 🍲 outside with the State House for my view. I've had breakfast on a bench in front of the building. I've taken my kids. Christmas 🎄 display is nice. I hope to visit inside again one day. Update: Sunday evening 🌆, December 2021 &22; I still enjoy the Christmas 🎄 decorations and lights at night! Update; May 2024: Farmers Market has a great location next to the State House. Update: January - May 2025; Concord NH Winter ❄️ Fest. I brought my son to see 🙈 the creation of ice sculptures. We both found it interesting and we got to gently touch a few of the completed sculptures. So many statues of those who played a roll in history of either NH's , the United States' or both.

It’s a beautiful and historic building to visit. The guided tours give a great look into the state’s history and government. The grounds are well-kept with impressive statues, and the inside is open and welcoming. It's a nice stop if you enjoy history and architecture. Plenty of parking spaces on the street.

The ambassadors (Pat and Maureen) were very friendly and knowledgeable. I was given a tour by Mrs. Pat who was kind enough to do so because I am a volunteer at the MS State Capitol. The MS State Capital is of higher quality and much bigger but capital does have recent renovations that are very nice. The grounds are beautiful and I actually saw a couple on blanket having a picnic. They are renovating gift shop. I was able to purchase pins thanks to Mrs. Vanessa. The history of building and individual portraits are very interesting. Definitely peaked my curiosity. They also have a hall of governors on 2nd floor. The painting on first floor of Battle of Gettysburg is very nice and has a unique history of how it ended up in state house. It peaked my desire to visit Gettysburg, PA. What I truly love about New Hampshire is that they have a system of checks and balances for all branches of government. The old way of politics which worked much better for the people and deterred corruption. The first floor has flags that were carried during military battles. Some are very old but it’s so interesting that they keep and maintain. What I really enjoyed was having opportunity to go into chambers. It is allowed when legislators aren’t in session. This is not allowed in MS State Capital. I highly recommend touring this state house as it will leave you wanted to know more about New Hampshire’s history and those who served in legislature.

Canterbury Shaker Village

Sights & Landmarks
19th-century Shaker community with period buildings, tours, demonstrations & a gift shop.
Pretty interesting spot. All original buildings on grounds and well kept. We went into a couple of buildings. But then again we were there at a time when things weren't happening. They also have a quaint gift shop that offers Shaker period-type gifts the tour was a self-guided one so we didn't have any formal tour but there are plenty of placards that explain as you go along. Beautiful spot.

My wife and I visited to learn about what the Shaker community actually was, because we had heard that so many others found it interesting. We were not disappointed. We had a very educational tour and visit. The whole Shaker concept is fascinating.

Ragged Mountain Resort

Ski resort
Nature & Parks
57 trails including 17 glades, & 3 terrain parks at a ski complex.
Boston’s favorite realtor here. Listen don’t get me wrong, this is no top-tier mountain or anything, but if you come with realistic expectations than it checks all of the boxes. The boxes for me is, it’s close to Boston, it offers multiple black diamond and double black diamond trails, family friendly for those young ones learning to ski, and the lines are not nearly as bad as some of the other resorts in the area. Also, if I wanted to tack on an extra hour drive to the two hours, there are other mountains I would choose in VT and deeper into NH. Lift ticket price is also fair compared to the outrageous prices at some of the other mountains. I would say if you’re looking for something that offers a bit of everything that is affordable and close to Boston than this would be my top choice. Also, I put my daughter into a private one on one ski lesson and the instructor was absolutely amazing. His name was Charles and he gave us so much information even after the two hour private lesson and was very gracious with his time and additional insight into how to help my daughter grow as a skier. Now go shred the gnar 🤘🏻
Corey B — Google review
I don’t even have words to describe how wonderful and family friendly this mountain is. It’s the perfect size for a family and learning young skiers. The adventure camps and private lessons have consistently been great year after year! Adam (snowboarding) and Kent (skiing) were outstanding coaches and teachers for my 3-8 year old boys. EVERYONE from Kat in the ski school admin, the incredible rentals department dudes, the lovely ladies at concessions, and the Mountain View bar bartenders are kind, generous and lovely. Truly can’t say enough great things about this location! Also- the food at concessions was delicious!!!
Em D — Google review
Went in very late December and they had just around a half dozen trails which was still a good amount for half a day of skiing (was a rainy morning but cleared up beautifully) Was a simple process to get tickets with the Indy Pass, lodge was small and cozy in vibe but still a decent selection for lunch with prices being fine for a ski resort Loved the trails despite how few were open and the lifts were quite nice and quick as well
Kyle D — Google review
I came here with only 1.5hrs to go before closing, and the staff was so incredibly kind and gave me a refund on my rental skis bc i brought my own boots and they didnt think it was worth paying so much for so little time. I didnt have much time to explore the mountain, but I had a good time, and i definitely plan to come back & get to more trails Edit: I came back and the mountain has more than enough trails to explore and at a slightly more affordable price point than some of the other mountains. I recommend!
Isabel — Google review
This is a great mid-sized ski resort. When we visited terrain was pretty limited due to bad weather, but the full potential of the mountain is easily visible. They do a great job making snow to compensate for the relatively low elevation compared to other NH or VT resorts. Lift lines were short to manageable even on a holiday weekend. Ample parking, even if there had been quite a few more people in attendance. There's a great variety of terrain for beginners, experts, and everyone in between. Good dining options on-site as well. The only downside is there's no night skiing. I'd be happy to go back and would expect it to be top-tier after any good snowfall.
Joel K — Google review
We visited on 2/23/2025 on Indy Pass. This place exceeded our expectations in pretty much every way. Of course we did pick a time when they had lots of snow so nearly 100% was open. Trails were really fun - a mix of nice groomed runs, some easier natural trails, and some nice gnarly bumps and trees. Lifts ran smoothly. I really appreciate that they had someone running the lift maze almost the entire time; it goes so much more smoothly. We barely waited in line even in the busiest parts of the day. There was plenty of room in the lodge to enjoy lunch, no jamming your elbows into someone when you're taking a bite of your sandwich. This mountain really checks a lot of boxes for a great classic New England resort. Is it the biggest? Most challenging? Fanciest? Closest to the highway? No on all counts, but most importantly we plan on coming back because of it. The folks at Ragged just deliver a simple and fun skiing experience.
Daniel C — Google review
Ragged mountain is one of my favorite places to ski. There are many, easy wide open trails as well as some tougher and narrower glades. The lines aren't too long and everyone there is so nice. The food is delicious and overall a good lodge experience. I would recommend going here!

I used Ragged for my wedding this fall. It was beyond amazing and I cannot speak highly enough for both Jessicas that work as the wedding coordinators they are the sweetest and most professional humans that go above and beyond to give you what you need. The food was amazing the staff was amazing and everyone is still texting me about it! My day was flawless even though I sprained my ankle and it rained they made sure I didn’t have one thing to worry about. The venue itself is stunning and perfect for anyone looking to have a rustic wedding in the beautiful mountains.

DISAPPOINTMENT OF A TANGER OUTLET. This place shouldn't even be considered a Tanger outlet and I've been to many Tanger in different states. This has got to be by far the worst. Tanger outlet in Tilton is such a horrible shopping area. I came here because I've never been here before and I figured I would see some different stores, different selection. The selection was limited and not a good selection. When I asked an employee why this area sucks so bad as a Tangers outlet and she told me that the people who own this shopping mall stated that they didn't want certain crowds here because it's considered a richer area due to the lake. I'm so glad (being sarcastic) that I drove an hour and 40 minutes to this location when I could've drove 45 minutes to Settler's Green outlets in North Conway. Do yourself a favor and do not come here. Also I was shopping for myself 38 year-old woman and my high school daughter who is going on 15.
Patricia R — Google review
I want to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the Tanger Outlets in Tilton regarding their recent handling of a business eviction. As a loyal customer and supporter, I was appalled by the lack of transparency, professionalism, and compassion shown throughout this process. The business in question was a valued part of the community-one that provided excellent service and built strong relationships with its customers. The abrupt eviction, with little to no communication or explanation to patrons, was not only poorly managed but also deeply disrespectful to not only the business owner and their loyal clientele who supported them. Tanger Outlets has a responsibility to foster a supportive environment for its tenants, especially those who contribute positively to the shopping experience. Instead this experience has left a sour taste and raised serious concerns about how Tanger treats the very businesses that help drive its success. I urge Tanger Outlets to reflect on how this was handled and to take meaningful steps to ensure that future actions are carried out with greater integrity, empathy, and accountability. I will be reconsidering my support for this shopping center and encouraging others to do the same.
Akiesha Y — Google review
Variety of shops. Some reasonable prices, though most discouts are not as deep as other factory outlet stores. Find and use coupons for the best deals.
Jeff&Barb T — Google review
The management and operations folks at this Tanger location have maintained the facility consistently well over the decades they've been here in Tilton. Hosting huge craft fairs, food trucks and other events that Tilton otherwise wouldn't see often at this scale and making it possible for small, local businesses to find a place amongst international retailers has made this a great place to shop!

Gunstock Mountain Resort is a family-friendly destination located in the Belknap Mountain range, offering stunning views of Lake Winnipesaukee. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, visitors can enjoy Nordic terrain, tubing, and a thrilling mountain coaster. The resort also features camping facilities and extensive hiking and biking trails for outdoor enthusiasts. During the summer months, guests can experience zip lining, ropes courses, playgrounds for children aged 2 to 12, and even a swimming hole.
We had an amazing experience ziplining at Gunstock in the fall! The views were absolutely breathtaking with all the fall colors in full bloom — flying over the vibrant foliage was surreal. The staff was super friendly and made us feel safe and comfortable the whole time. The ziplines were long, fast, and so much fun — such a thrill! It’s a perfect adventure for anyone visiting New Hampshire in autumn. Highly recommend for nature lovers and adrenaline seekers!

The ropes course through the trees was amazing! They gave us proper training before hitting the real course. Our guide was Makayla and she was so friendly and nice to talk to! So many fun obstacles, and it was a great workout! The mountain coaster however I would say was quite a let down. I’d been on one other mountain coaster before and it actually went down the entire mountain. This one was basically a kiddie coaster that just kind of did a loop through some trees. Would be a great ride for kids, as an adult however it was not worth the $30 unlimited rides add-on, as we only did it once and weren’t even interested enough to go back on it a second time to get our money’s worth. The food and live music was great! I got a chickpea bowl and it was delicious and protein packed!

Did the Bronco Off-Rodeo and had the most fun in a long time. The whole experience was amazing especially for a first time off-roadie. The instructor Jordan was the best and made you feel like you’ve been doing this forever. Totally recommend to everyone, whether you own a Bronco or not.

From Connecticut and we were in New Hampshire for our anniversary/vacation. Our host from the Airbnb recommended us to go to gunstock to take in the scenic view from the lift. Was extremely enjoyable and relaxing. We happened to go on a clear day and we were able to see MT Washington in the distance. We had lunch at the Gunstock Barrel and grill and was pleasantly surprised at the food. Service personnel were very friendly and polite. Only complaint, nothing major, picnic tables at the summit on the deck were in ruff shape. Other then that was very affordable and relaxing.

Our whole family had a fantastic time at Gunstock Mountain Resort! We rode the mountain coaster, which was such a fun activity for all ages—from 3 to 63! Since you can control the speed, everyone can enjoy the ride at their own comfort level while still experiencing the thrill of sliding down the mountain. We also took the scenic lift to the summit, and the views were absolutely stunning. I can only imagine how breathtaking it will be in the fall with the foliage. Hiking area
Self-guided tours of glacial caves formed during the Ice Age plus a rock garden & a nature trail.
This is the most fun! We hadn't been here in 18 years and were delighted by how much it was how we remembered yet better. Climbing through the caves is so much fun, and they have a cute little duck pond there, too. We agreed if we lived closer by we would probably come once per week just for the exercise. Great place for couples, families, and anyone seeking just a little adventure (but nothing too crazy).

A great experience outdoors for families. You can climb among the boulders and passages and get a bit of insight into nature and how glaciers shaped the area. The walkways also give an easier way around for those not interested in squeezing in some of the tighter spaces.

We were three adults and we had a great time. Really fun climbing through the caves. The routes are laid out extremely well so it's fun while still being appropriate for people at different physical levels. All caves can be individually skipped if someone opts to bypass a specific challenge.

Great family friendly visit. Cool caves and good views. No one went missing during my visit no matter what local law enforcement says. They weren't missing they, they were never there, they never existed, who are you talking about?

Fantastic place. Many of the caves are narrow and unless you are small and nimble can be a challenge to negotiate. That said, they can all be bypassed, and it is worth a visit just for the views and rock formations.

My family has the most amazing time. My little and big kids were all happy exploring the caves and all that the park offers. Misty, the supervisor, was so helpful to retrieve an item that had fallen and was out of reach. Such a refreshingly cool outing during a hot summer day. The trails were clean and well maintained. The view of the mountain and from the mountain were stunning. The deers, duck pond and mining area were unexpected pleasant additions to the adventure. I highly encourage everyone to come and explore this amazing place.

The museum's permanent collection includes items dating back to 1939 and features fully-operational military vehicles as part of special exhibits.
A wonderous Collection of World War Two Artifacts each telling it own portion of World Two History. An M-26 Pershing Tank ( survivor from Remagan Bridge.) We were taking two of our grandkids on a trolley tour and it makes a quick turn around at the museum. Both grandkids wanted to visit the museum so we returned the following day. What a great museum! They had exhibits on both civilian life as well as military during the war. Plenty of things to see and the military vehicles really interested the kids. Highly recommend for a very informative visit especially if you experienced the time period growing up.

This place is truly a hidden gem. At least it was to us. We found it while searching for attractions near Milton, NH, and we were not disappointed! What makes this museum stand out from so many other miltary/war museums is that it gives the prospective of life during 1939- 1945 by starting off with many exhibits in the Home Front Gallery. Then it takes you through each year via their Time Tunnel, with highlights from each year from the war in Europe and the Pacific, to music, movies and such. The next section is military equipment that has been repaired to full road worthiness and to period correct standards. The museum also has a library and archives, an education center, a chapel and art gallery specific to WWII.

Wolfeboro, NH is home to the Wright Museum of World War II — and walking through it felt like stepping straight back in time. The staff are very friendly and informative, I bought a $25 membership that allows me and 5 other people to for free for a year. The walk is fairly easy and stroller friendly, there were also a little of interactive spots on the trail for kids to learn about science. Also, there were a lot of different kids of animals and helpful information posted about them around the enclosures. They have a gift shop by the entrance that also is very cool to check out especially they have ice cream on hot days. Definitely recommend everyone of all ages to check it out!

We got very lucky that we came 1.5hrs before close, week day, so there was not many other people there. And we saw all the animals, except one. Their areas all seemed very nice, well maintained, and enriching. Especially loved the chipmunk area, where they were going in and out of their exhibit, but there is a place to watch up close. And how the deer could walk underneath you. Definitely could have stayed for longer! Loved walking around because it didn't feel like a "zoo" and felt generally more natural. It was like a trail walk through the woods and zoo combo. Educational exhibits were also really unique and hands-on. Even I enjoyed them as an adult!

10/10 would recommend. Our high energy 3 year old had the time of his life. So kid friendly, so many things to keep him interested (and walking the whole trail with no complaints!!!) but also so incredibly cool for adults. Our son wasn’t even totally interested in the animals besides the first looks but the puzzles and interactive walls at every exhibit had him so excited. We had an amazing time. We came right when it opened so the parking and purchasing tickets were a breeze.

Get your tickets in advance, even though they sell a lot of tickets there's so much room around that it never feels crowded. Lots of active awesome animals. Even better if you can catch any of the live shows to get up close to new animals. Lots of interactive learning activities for the kids at almost every stop along the path!

Great place to visit and enjoyed local wildlife to New Hampshire. If you can make it for the animal demonstrations they are very informative and interactive. Always love seeing the bald eagles as they are so much larger close up.

There is a lot to see and learn about, including animals, ecology, research practices, and even renewable energy! I especially appreciate the signs that state how they got their animals, why they aren't releasable, etc. I also liked how natural all ot the enclosures are kept, and that we get to learn what kinds of enrichment the animals got that day. We brought our son, who is 5 months old, and he fell asleep about halfway through, but my partner and I enjoyed it just the same!
Sarah S — Google review
Wonderful ecological exhibits and explanations, great for children and adults. The animal spaces were large and aesthetic and the animals looked very well cared for. We loved the fisher and lively otters!

Beautiful setting. Almost seems built into the natural landscape. Great place for anyone with Autism. Tons of hands on displays and learning material. Also lots of cute photo ops. Not every animal was out but a majority was

Sights & Landmarks
The Castle in the Clouds is a historical estate situated on a mountaintop, boasting a 1913 mansion and sprawling across 5,500 acres of land. The property offers stunning views of lakes and valleys, surrounded by gardens, ponds and hiking trails leading to a small waterfall. The arts-and-crafts-style castle features stone walls and exposed-timber beams that add to its charm. This museum also includes stories about Thomas Plant, an eccentric millionaire who built this magnificent estate.
This is a great place to visit if you're in southern New Hampshire. We stopped there as part of our RV Fantasy tour and really glad that they planned this excursion on the way to our next campground. This Mansion is not really all that big but built in a beautiful location on top of mountain. It was built in 1913 and has been very well restored. Kind of like the Biltmore in North Carolina this place had all the modern conveniences of the time. Anyway you park in one location, walk up get your tickets, and then catch a trolley to the top of the mountain. After initial orientation speech / video it's a self-paced tour through the mansion. Once you're done you can either walk down a trail back where you started at or catch the trolley back down. Anyway the tickets are relatively cheap, and there's a cafe where do you catch the trolley if you want to eat lunch there.

We had a beautiful day exploring this lovely place on pur 51st anniversary. I always wanted to go here as a child, but never made it. It was on my bucket list. We loved our tour of the basement to see the inner workings! The views were amazing!

I didn't know this place existed. We didn't go up to the castle, but we did walk around the grounds and go into the restaurant and bar area of the barn. It was really nice and they had a nice fire going. The outdoor patio here has an amazing view of the lakes. The waterfalls hike was nice, but I would recommend coming in Spring since there is probably more water.

Great 10k sf house built 1914 with arts and craft construction and many new inventions of the time. Beautiful views from every room. Hiking trails with waterfalls. Restaurant on site. Could easily spend the day.

We took the basement tour and found it fascinating to see all the behind-the-scenes work that made the 'modern conveniences' possible. Our guide was thorough and happily answered all of our many questions. The house is beautifully maintained, the grounds are lovely, and the views from the property are wonderful. Tip - If you visit, ask them to play the organ!

Very nice park with hiking trails, a casual restaurant with a view that we didn't eat at, and a self guided house tour that one has to take a dus to from the restaurant/lower building. My folks took the house tour, they said it wasn't their style, it's Arts and Crafts, very natural, browns and tans, my style, I'll have to get back to see the house.

Lost River Gorge & Boulder Caves

Nature preserve
Lost River Gorge & Boulder Caves is a seasonal park in Woodstock, offering hiking, caving, and gemstone mining opportunities. It features glacial caves, a stunning waterfall, and scenic boardwalks amid mountain and river landscapes. Discovered in the early 1800s and owned by the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests, this historic attraction is perfect for families to visit during summer and fall.
Our family loved the gorge and caves. We’ve been to NH a few times, but our kids are on the younger side so this was a first for us. The boardwalk is not only a great help to get through the gorge, its craftsmanship is amazing. The hand railings are rounded and smooth, and we were even able to chat with one of the carpenters on our visit as he installed a new section of boardwalk. The caves themselves are not really caves in the traditional sense, rather the negative space between boulders and the earth & other boulders. That didn’t detract from their awesomeness as it’s amazing to think that these giant boulders were moved by ice. We spent about 2 hours going through the caves and doing the extra loop through the suspension bridge. My boys tried a few caves more than once and even made it through the Lemon Squeeze! The main building looks newer, is very clean and comfortable. There isn’t somewhere to sit in the shade, but we weren’t there long enough to really miss that’s however, if you brought a lunch or had someone in your party who needed to wait this one out, there are some picnic tables surrounding the main building.

There are a few places in NH that I had been wanting to visit, this was one of them. I wasnt sure how it was going to be, because at first I thought it was a hike but its more like a Museum so there is a entrance fee but it was well worth it. I kind of wish I brought my little nieces and nephews because all this time I was focus on the waterfall and bridges but there were so many unique crevasse and caves, that aspect of the exploration was a unique adventure they would have absolutely loved. It was not to difficult in the walking (I am a big guy), but there are alot of steps and inclines but its tolerable. Also love some of the unique wood carvings on the additional rites as well. There is also a rich history which was refreshing to learn about that I want to go back and study some more. Parking is a little tricky, there is alot of parking but it does get somewhat packed. Overall nice experience, worth a stop if your in the area.

Really awesome hike with tons of bear caves. The trail is fairly challenging with a LOT of stairs, so be mindful if that's not your jam. The views were gorgeous and so were the water features. My thirteen year old son and I had a blast!

I had a wonderful time exploring the caves and seeing a lot of waterfalls. Absolutely beautiful place very well maintained. The walkways were very nice. The scenery is beautiful. Highly recommend for families. The kids will love exploring the caves!
Courtnie — Google review
Well maintained and safe platforms and trails throughout. A lot to see. Very physical so not a great option for those with limited mobility but if you are in good shape, it’s a really cool place! Highly recommend for families but note that the gorge is quite steep and you’ll want to keep children close because there are plenty of natural hazards for those boundary-pushing tikes.
Molly W — Google review
Absolutely my favorite gorge in the area. Nice, long boardwalk all the way up the gorge. Great place for kids to explore caves and tunnels. Agile and somewhat physically in shape adults too. If you’re trying to decide this place or Flume, this place is much better and funnier. Cost’s more but it’s worth it.
Patrick A — Google review
We had a blast visiting here. We did all but 1 of the caves. At 6' tall it wasn't happening. Lots of solid built stairs leading all around the boulders. Great platforms for some nice scenery shots, especially the large nest at the end. A great place to visit during a hot day. The temps are much better in and around the caves. Such a peaceful place to visit. Nice clean restrooms in the main building along with a gift shop. I highly recommend visiting this place.
Joseph C — Google review
We had an amazing time, (2 adults, a 2yo, and a 6yo) we felt that the stairs, boardwalks and caves were very well maintained and that alone seemed worth the ticket price. We felt safe the whole route, staff seemed to be present and floating around. There were first aid kits periodically and everything was well marked. Our 2yo had to be carried on and off through the boardwalk but we anticipated that. Roughly 1000 steps through the gorge and boulder caves and we did it in about an hour. We skipped some of the caves due to our size as grown-ups but there were plenty that we were able to make. If my 6yo was a little older or more adventurous she may have been able to do more. But we had fun nonetheless!! It's a very cool experience, family friendly and I would definitely recommend! I'd suggest good shoes and long pants for the best experience and be willing to bear crawl a bit!

Waterville Valley Resort

Outdoor Activities
Classic ski resort with shops & restaurants, plus relaxed accommodations in condos, lodges & inns.
Awesome resort with great and varied terrain. The mountain has some of friendliest people I've come across at a resort. The groomers ripped and the trees were a blast. Not a huge mountain but there's something for everyone and the views are gorgeous.

Area, slopes and staff were great, but the prices for food is astronomical. 13$ for 4 chicken strips that have been sitting in the window way to long. That's just an one example of the prices. Would come back but will bring my own food.

I got married at Waterville Valley on 9/13/25, and I am still in awe of the amazing experience we had with Waterville. We did the mountaintop ceremony and then cocktail hour and reception at the freestyle lounge/base lodge. Everything about this experience was 10000/10. We worked with Abby and Missy during the whole coordinating process, as well as day of, and they were AMAZING. So helpful and knowledgeable, and the best communication. During the planning process, it was extremely helpful to also have their help with the transportation and room blocks (they handled it all). We were extremely lucky with perfect weather, but regardless, we knew it would’ve been the best day either way. I got ready in the bridal suite right on site which was so convenient and a huge room! The reception was amazing with the garage door opened which made for amazing flow from the dance floor to the outside fire pits/cornhole/jenga/etc. There was something for everyone! Food was done through Waterville, so not having to deal with an outside catering company was a huge plus for us…and the food was delicious!! I could go on and on about everything we loved about the whole planning process and how perfect Waterville made our special day, and I honestly do not have one negative thing to say. We've also received so many compliments from our guests about our wedding day! THANK YOU WATERVILLE, you made our day the most perfect day we could've ever dreamed of! Side note - I've grown up skiing at Waterville since I was about 2 years old, so I couldn't be happier getting to have my wedding day there as well! (Photo credit Yeaton Photography)

It's relatively small and cosy, but well equipped resort with good options for both beginners and advanced riders. I was there on probably the last opening weekend, so there was lot of slushing and no queues, but the slopes were still quite usable.

WEDDING VENUE REVIEW: Waterville Valley Resort was absolutely stunning and truly exceeded our expectations in so many ways! Our ceremony among the mountains and by the pond was exactly what we had dreamed of, the scenery was breathtaking and made for such a memorable moment. The reception space under the tent was gorgeous, and the food was fantastic. We were so grateful to have a bridal suite to get ready in, and the venue was able to accommodate us by letting us in an hour early, which made getting ready so much more relaxed and enjoyable. The location itself was perfect for a weekend getaway, everything was walking distance, and there was so much for our guests to do. They loved riding the chair lift up the mountain, hiking to waterfalls, swimming, and enjoying all the other activities the resort offers. It really created a fun and memorable experience for everyone. While the venue was gorgeous and everything went smoothly on the day, we did experience some communication issues leading up to the wedding, which is why I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5. That said, everything ended up working out, and having a day-of coordinator was super helpful in navigating any small hiccups. Overall, I would highly recommend Waterville Valley Resort for couples looking for a stunning mountain wedding with plenty of activities for guests. Just plan ahead for communication and consider having a coordinator to help the day run as smoothly as possible.

Sabbaday Falls is a stunning cascade of water that flows down granite rocks in a forest known for its autumn foliage. The falls are accessed via a gentle, paved trail that leads visitors through the serene surroundings of the forest and alongside a stream. The sound of the thunderous falls provides both an invigorating and calming experience for hikers. With a distance of only 0.7 miles round trip, this hike is easy enough for families with small children to enjoy.
I absolutely loved these falls. They do a 90 degree turn which is crazy. Plenty of areas to view the falls from to provide different angles and perspectives.

One of my favorite waterfalls and hikes! It's on the Kancamagus highway and White Mountain National Forest. It's a .6 mile round trip hike, easy for the little ones too. There was ample parking and it's a nicely maintained area. The waterfall has multiple levels and a gorge. I really love the wooden bridges, viewing platforms, and railings, it reminded me of the Enders Falls in Granby, CT. My family and I enjoyed the hike and the views. It's a beautiful spot and worth a visit!

Flume Gorge, located in Franconia Notch State Park near Lincoln, is a must-visit natural attraction offering stunning mountain and waterfall views. The 2-mile loop trail takes visitors through the gorge, past covered bridges, and to overlooks with breathtaking vistas. The Gilman Visitor Center provides information about the area. A trip up Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and a chance to see where the Old Man of the Mountain once stood.
Breathtaking views and an enjoyable hike! Flume Gorge is absolutely stunning! The trail is well-maintained and perfect for most skill levels—easy enough to enjoy without too much effort, but with just enough stairs and inclines to keep it fun. The waterfalls, moss-covered granite walls, and scenic boardwalks through the gorge were like walking through a real-life postcard. The glacial boulder was a cool bonus, and the entire loop was a great mix of nature and light adventure. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the White Mountains—don’t forget your camera!

Absolutely stunning… unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. Even though the water level was low, it was still amazing and highly recommended. Kids are able to do the trail pretty easily. About 2.75-3 miles depending on what side trails you explore along the way. Lots of stairs (watch claims 30+ flights) but it doesn’t seem bad because it’s so great to look at.

Took our time (about three hours) navigating all the trails to maximize our experience. While the weather wasn't great, we had pockets where it got better. Other hikers were super friendly and we had many great conversations. Highly recommend!

Review: The Flume Gorge—Where History Meets High Peaks The Flume Gorge, nestled within Franconia Notch State Park, is less a hike and more a journey through geological time. It is easily one of New Hampshire's most spectacular natural wonders, a perfect blend of rugged alpine scenery, fascinating human history, and breathtaking natural beauty, especially when framed by the fiery hues of autumn. The gorge's formation is a magnificent historical story: roughly 200 million years ago, molten rock cooled and fractured. Later, softer basalt dikes intruded into these fractures. When the Ice Age ended, massive glaciers melted, and the sheer force of the meltwater preferentially eroded the weak basalt, carving the "slot" we walk through today. You can still see colossal glacial erratics—huge, isolated boulders deposited randomly by the receding ice—which serve as silent reminders of the mile-thick sheet that once covered the land. Waterfalls, Rivers, and Rustic Charm The trail is defined by the life-giving force of water. At the far end of the flume, the roaring, 45-foot Avalanche Falls marks the location of one of the gorge's most famous tales: the massive, egg-shaped boulder that hung suspended between the walls until a great storm in 1883 swept it away. Below the main attraction, the circuit brings you to the picturesque Flume Covered Bridge, one of the oldest in the state, which spans the mighty Pemigewasset River. The vibrant red of the bridge, set against the swift currents of the river, is a highlight of the entire 2-mile loop. Peak Natural Beauty and Fall Colors While the moss-covered, dark granite walls hold a stark beauty year-round, visiting the Flume Gorge in autumn elevates the experience to truly unforgettable status. The fall colors are simply stunning, creating a dramatic contrast between the muted, ancient stone and the blazing canopy overhead. Every turn—from the cascades of Liberty Gorge to the views looking out over the Franconia Notch—is painted in brilliant shades of crimson, gold, and orange. Rest assured , the Flume Gorge offers a unique and highly accessible experience. It is a must-see for anyone seeking a deep connection with the raw natural beauty and ancient geological history of the White Mountains.

Stunning geological feature and an enjoyable walk. The trail is fairly easy and there is a viewing area if you don't want to walk it. The gorge is fascinating and strikingly beautiful. It can get very busy and the trails may be packed with people.

Very beautiful place , it's a natural wonder! Its about 2 miles back and forth and takes almost 2 hrs to enjoy but you can spend more time if you like. Don't bring any open food or plan to eat there, it will attract bear. Lot of stairs and good hike with awesome views. Must see!

Great views of the waterfall , nice and cool by the river/stream during summer. It is about a mile uphill and has some well maintained wooden stairs around the gorge . It is about a mile back down from the gorge that is mostly downhill. For a novice/casual hiker in my 50's with a bad ankle it was hard but manageable.

Scenic Railroads
Conway Scenic Railroad is a nostalgic 19th-century train station located in North Conway, NH. It offers rides on restored locomotives with dining cars, providing a charming and quaint experience at the heart of the Valley. The area is known for its ski town charm, with shops, dining options, and Schouler Park surrounding the railroad. The Mt. Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce collaborates with local businesses to promote the region as a premier New England destination.
This is a historic railroad located in the White Mountains and it was built in 1874. The station is in North Conway. We took a 55 minute round trip ride on this train during our visit. It's such a fun activity to do if you have kids, love history, and/or love trains. The employees were friendly, the seats were comfy, and the views were amazing. We went in May so the train was pretty empty; they gave us the option of riding in first class, free of charge. Score! They also told us stories and facts through the intercom. I highly recommend a visit!
Kim V — Google review
I had higher expectations but it was still a nice relaxing ride. 70% of the time was spent riding through a wall of trees and towns. When you enter the train, for best views sit on left side. Once it did open up, the views were great. Definitely consider a fall ride during peak for the best color.
Ashley S — Google review
We were so excited to take the scenic railroad train ride. Cut out a scenic drive in the national park to make the trip. The train car was really cool and built in 1923 very detailed features and use to be a passenger train from new Jersey to Manhattan. The ride was smooth and relaxing with the sun coming through all the windows. The scenic views were sub par from construction zones, neighborhoods, junky back yards, businesses, a corn field and one nice view of a mountain range with soccer goals all in front of it. Very disappointed from what was described on the website to what was actually delivered. Maybe the 4hr trip is better but the 1hr was just a train ride without the scenic views. I will say everyone was nice and polite and the car was exceptionally clean. Adding pictures of the #view of your doing the 1hr to save your time.

This is a wonderful opportunity to see the changing colors in the fall. However, I recommend that you do NOT reserve the dome car which has the most expensive seats. The dome and windows are not clean and are tinted so you can not get pics. In addition, we were freezing as there is no heat and the seats appear short than in the main cars. Four hours is a long ride to see more ‘of the Same’. I might recommend a shorter, less expensive option.
Karen B — Google review
We had a really enjoyable experience. We travelled in Dome class which does give you better views. The trees along the track obscure much of the views so you really have to enjoy the journey itself. It is quite an expensive activity so you really have to like riding a train. I feel like they could have made the experience more valuable with a complimentary drink and snack. There is a snack bar on board but queues are long. Overall we are glad we did the journey but I wouldn’t repeat it
Morag C — Google review
We took a 1-hour ride to celebrate our anniversary and had a lovely time! We bought first-class tickets and had the car entirely to ourselves (on an August Sunday). The views were lovely, the seats and car were comfortable (and the A/C had no trouble keeping up with the August heat), and we had a delightful time. For the first half of the trip there was a pre-recorded narration of the sights coming up (in a soothing Mr. Rogers–style voice — we felt like he liked us just the way we are!), which helped me get in position for photos. The second half of the trip (coming back along the same track) had no narration. Probably not good for small children with limited attention spans, but a delightful, relaxing experience for adults who like scenery and history. One thing to watch out for: We did not allow for the dense traffic we experienced on our way to the station, and we ended up being the last people aboard and had to scramble to get our boarding passes. In general, traffic in the area during the summer was a lot thicker and slower than I expected. (Since we were the only people in the first-class car, though, it didn’t matter that we were the last ones aboard.) There were a few fun historical exhibits in the station; it's worth taking the time before or after your ride to check those out.

Riding the Conway Scenic Railroad was a truly unforgettable experience like stepping back in time while gliding through some of New Hampshire’s most breathtaking landscapes. The vintage train cars were beautifully restored, and the ride itself was smooth, peaceful, and full of charm. As we traveled through lush forests and over scenic bridges, the fall colors were absolutely stunning, making every moment feel like a moving postcard. The staff were incredibly friendly and shared fascinating local history throughout the journey, adding depth to the views outside the window. Whether you're a train enthusiast or just looking for a relaxing and scenic escape, this ride is a perfect blend of nostalgia, nature, and New England charm.
Salma M — Google review
We rode the scenic railway at the beginning of October. Overall it was a disappointing experience. We chose the dome class for the best views. Unfortunately the windows were filthy so it wasn’t possible to get good photographs. A lot of the journey is through trees and woodland so the views aren’t great. It does open up towards the end so you can enjoy the scenery. It is expensive for what it is. The ticket collection was confusing, we queued for a long time to board the train and were directed to the wrong carriage. This process could have been better organised . If you love trains it’s worth doing otherwise you’re see more driving around.

The site was originally home to a water-powered sawmill built in the 1860s. A smooth trail leads visitors to the pools and waterfalls, with varying water levels throughout the year. According to local Native American legend, the baths were once inhabited by evil spirits until they were washed away by a friendly mountain god in a massive flood.
Great little day trip. Beautiful spot to take littles to swim. It's a bring in take out place. No trash cans near the falls. Bit of a walk to get there, but it's mostly a walk. All shaded! Short drive from down town north Conway. Super easy find.

Parking is in an open gravel parking lot. There is a box at the entry to the trail where you pay through honor system. Restrooms are located at the entry too. Nice hike through lush forest next to the stream. There are small ponds and waterfalls past Diana's Bath. Hiking trail is not easy but less than an intermediate-level hike for some parts.

Outstanding marvel of nature! We spent a ton of time here, when the water level is low you can climb on the rocks. We climbed to the top. In the summer you can get refreshed by the cold waterfalls. Just be very careful as the rocks are worn smooth and are slippery even when dry.

We we're looking for a little walk with a 'reward' at the end and this place didn't disappoint. A really nice cool walk through the trees to Diana's Bath and the relaxing sound of running water. We used our America The Beautiful pass for free parking too.

There wasn't much water due to the drought we've been having, but there were still small water streams and not having as much water allowed us to explore on the rocks a little more which was cool. Definitely want to visit again when we're not in a drought.

Great place for a family friendly experience. Just be cautious of climbing on the rocks, it can be slippery. Very scenic and beautiful rock formations with waterfalls. Nice place to picnic but get there early because it's a popular attraction
Neil J — Google review
It's a short easy hike which leads to a great many rocky steps which sends water cascading down into a plethora of pools. Great place to run around without too many sharp ledges to worry about. Always take care where the rocks look wet, of course! A few brief downsides: when we went there around early afternoon, it did take awhile to get into the parking lot. It's a very popular place! Also, the bathroom was a pig style (and smelled worse than one...)

A past time we have been enjoying with family every year since 1998! Such an iconic spot. The rainfall for the year determines how beautiful the falls will be. Easy half a mile walk to the falls then climb the rocks yourself or with your kiddos, grandkids and pups. Bring water or hiking shoes with you. Last but not least, get there before 8:30 because the line backs up out the entrance.

Outdoor Activities
Cranmore Mountain Resort, located in Conway, New Hampshire, is a popular destination for outdoor activities all year round. In the winter, visitors can enjoy skiing and snow tubing on 56 trails with various levels of difficulty. The resort also hosts winter events for guests to enjoy. During the summer months, the resort transforms into an adventure park offering activities such as summer tubing, giant swing rides, mountain coaster rides, zip lining, and hiking.
What a wonderful mountain resort. It's like you have a winter park with everything to have the best time in the snow. The snow tubing was super fun, and I can't get enough from it.

Winter and summer fun. Plenty of things to do for all ages. The park has plenty of parking. The resort if ever changing with the times. The prices have seem to risen drastically in the last few years, but they are always investing on making the park better. Skiing in the winter with night skiing possible. Tubing. Summer has bike courses, bouncy house, and a alpine slide that goes wicked fast. The alpine slide fits two. Child and adult. There is food on the property. The hotel is nearby and a bike path starts on the property.

I would have loved to of had a go on all of the rides myself, but unforgivable unfortunately didn't have the time. If you're staying at the hotel next door is great to drop the kids off here whilst you do all of the packing and load the car up. The children spent about 3hrs here and loved it, with the mountain coaster being there favourite ride. Plenty of free parking here and very very your tickets slightly cheaper through Groupon.

I went here just for the theme park and it was really enjoyable. The mountain coaster was definitely the best with a long track and not too much queuing. The Giant Swing was very fun and all times we went on had almost no queue. Really enjoyed the skilift up to Cranmore Mountain.

This is a nice little place to spend a few hours. The chair lift is peaceful and beautiful. The mountain coaster is a lot of fun, highly recommend. The swing was fun. The waits to ride the rides aren't terrible.

Cranmore Adventure Park: A Monday Full of Motion Cranmore Adventure Park delivered plenty of thrills on my Monday visit. The mountain coaster was the clear standout—fast, smooth, and surrounded by great views. Lines were short, which made it easy to hop from one attraction to the next without much waiting. There were lots of school groups visiting, giving the park an energetic, noisy buzz, though it stayed manageable. A few rides were closed, which limited the options a bit, and food lines dragged on longer than expected. Still, the friendly atmosphere and fun mix of activities made the day worthwhile. If you go, plan to eat early, check the ride schedule ahead of time, and don’t skip the coaster—it’s Cranmore’s crown jewel.

This place is perfect for a visit any season. We went there in the summer and returned in the winter, enjoying both visits a lot. In winter, there's more than just skiing: you can go snow tubing, ride the mountain coaster, try the eagle zip line, or even take a turn on the giant swing. For skiing, they've got three lifts and two magic carpets, making it great for any level of skier. They offer a variety of lessons, including private ones, group classes, and a kids' ski camp. The camp for kids is especially good. It runs from 10 am to 3 pm and includes lunch and snacks. For our kids, the student-to-instructor ratio was 1:1, which was fantastic for learning and fun. We also tried private lessons, which were excellent. The instructors are friendly and make the experience very enjoyable. Just remember, you need to book the camp and group classes at least 48 hours in advance. However, if you're interested in private lessons, you can sign up for those just 24 hours ahead.

I wish they still had Summer tubing. They could use another ride there. Overall it’s a pretty good time.

The Mount Washington Cog Railway

Mentioned on

Scenic Railroads
The Mount Washington Cog Railway offers visitors a chance to experience a scenic ride to the top of the mountain on historic steam trains or biodiesel locomotives. The attraction operates seasonally and was first conceived in 1858 when Sylvester Marsh requested permission from the state legislature to build a railway up Mt. Washington. One politician opposed the idea at that time.
Our group enjoyed the journey up Mt Washington on the cog. We had 2 different “docents” who shared info with us on the way up and back. The first one was quite hard to hear (Pink cat) and the speaker system was not great. The second spoke louder and I caught most of the comments. Unfortunately, we went up on a cloudy day and didn’t see much once we were 1/2 way up. I believe they said this is the case about 40% of the time. The summit had nice facilities and we enjoyed a comfortable, climate controlled lunch on some of the many tables. The railcars and seats were moderately comfortable and windows could open and close. On the way down, the clouds broke and we had some lovely vires of the colorful filiale and valley below. I would love to come back again on a clear day, but we felt it was still an enjoyable ride. The timing was great I our opinion. About 45 minutes up. About 45 minutes at the summit. About 45 minutes down.

This was a fantastic experience- this group is well organized and well trained. They were informative as well as entertaining- we had a great day on the train and at the top of mount washington. Views are 360 degrees spectacular. The cog train is so unique and an engineering marvel- don’t miss the exhibit at the base station - so interesting. The seats flip over so you are facing forward in both directions- the better view is on the left side of the train going up the mountain. Would HIGHLY recommend this trip- well worth the money.
Suzanne H — Google review
Perfect autumn day views! Everything was perfect. The directors on the cog were very educational and fun! Little shops at the top and bottom of mountain had a great selection of souvenirs. Highly reccomend if you are visiting the area!
Cheryl G — Google review
This was a cool experience. I do think $100 per person was a little too expensive especially when you have a family. However, we didn’t regret doing it. You will learn about the history of the cog as you go up and return back down. Once at the top of Mount Washington, you will have about an hour to hangout before the next cog returns to bring you back down the mountain. Check the weather, it is drastically different from the bottom to the top. We live in a state with mountain ranges that are higher than Mount Washington. This was still very cool to do and better than expected. I gave the experience a 5 but not the price.
Chris — Google review
Well worth the money spent on the ticket for this experience. A fascinating journey into the ingenuity of the past. The 2 small museums at the bottom and summit are great but the real star is the Cog itself. A fun family trip just make sure that you dress on layers. The temp on the summit will be much colder than at the beginning of the ride.
Jenne H — Google review
We had a wonderful time taking the Cog Train to the summit. Our breakman was very entertaining and knowledgeable about the railway and the mountain range. It was about 30° cooler on the mountain than at the base with sustained winds of 67 and gusts up to 85. It was an amazing experience and glad we did it.
Gary G — Google review
What a fun day we had. My son loves train and he couldn’t wait to experience the cog on the mount Washington. It was definitely worth the money: $89/adult, $61/child. We got super lucky: clear skies. The views were mesmerizing. Once you reach the summit, you can spend 1 hour walking around and taking pictures. There’s also a cafe and lots of restrooms. Just remember to bring some warm clothes, it can get very cold at the summit. It was 77 when we went there, but the summit had a windchill of 40.
Frany C — Google review
$100 per person. Recommend selecting seats of C,D and E for better view and towards locomotive. Hopped on final service and sunset was amazing on way back.. ok but if the Auto road have same scenic area view , $500 is not worth it for group of 5. Don’t know about Auto road. But this is good great view and great great staff . Always take your jackets for summit

Nature & Parks
Glen Ellis Falls is a picturesque 64-foot high waterfall located on the Ellis River in White Mountain National Forest. Accessible from Route 16 in Pinkham Notch, this hidden gem offers a serene setting for nature enthusiasts. A short hike from the parking lot leads to the falls, where visitors can enjoy stunning views and the soothing sound of cascading water. The trail through the forest alongside the river adds to the allure of this natural wonder.
***The parking lot and the tunnel used to get to the trail are currently closed for construction. We had to park at the side of the road and find a makeshift trail that led to the main trail.*** Trail is well maintained, and there's honestly not much walking to do to be able to see the views! There's stairs going downhill to be able to the view the waterfall from the bottom.
Jazz B — Google review
There is an easy to access parking lot with a bathroom. You need to pay $5 for a day pass. It is cash only via an envelope system! The hike is easy with a well maintained trail.

Short and relatively easy .3 mile walk to the beautiful falls. I'm close to sixty years old and in poor physical shape (I'm overweight and have bad knees) I still did it with relative ease. We also saw a couple well into their seventies on the trail. There's 80 or 90 stair steps that lead to the bottom of the falls, but one can cut that in half by ending their decent at one of the higher viewing platforms you'll come to first.
John N — Google review
beautiful waterfall that is roughly 0.3 miles down a trail. easy to find from the main parking lot. after crossing under the road, the trail is mainly steps to the waterfall. there is a viewing platform above the falls as well as 2 down below. I would recommend hiking to all of them. Well marked, and will definitely visit again!!

Incredible spot and super short hike. It’s cool how the trail goes under the highway! A lot of stairs but so worth it!

Nice walk into a Beautiful waterfall. Not handicap or wheelchair accessible. Several steps.

This beautiful waterfall is just a short walk on an easy path.

The parking lot ind the tunnel are not open yet due to severe rain earlier in the season. Getting down to the pathway is a tad difficult. It's not usable for anyone with walking difficulties.

What a cool experience!! This is something I’m glad to check off my list of things to try. Got to meet and give some well deserved pets and attention to all the pups before and after the ride. Our musher Matt was down to earth and fun to hang with while we were on our tour. Highly recommend this excursion. Finding this was what sealed the deal for us booking our NH trip!

We booked and paid online. All staff was friendly and welcoming. We signed an easy waiver for the family when we arrived and they did weigh everyone prior to riding. We did the mini musher and it was perfect for our family of 4. We had plenty of time to love on all the dogs. Some of the dogs were so funny. They were little thieves and would take my son’s glove and tried to take his hat. Many of them were “huggers “ where they would stand up and grab a hold of your arm. It was so sweet. You can tell the dogs really enjoy running. Kate was our musher and she was very friendly and patient with all of the questions I asked. They have a great system of half of the family driving to certain locations to get pictures and videos of those that are riding. It was a really peaceful, pretty ride and I’m glad we were able to experience it.

Decided to go on a dog sledding adventure during a trip with three of my girlfriends. I had been to Muddy Paw years earlier with my husband and daughters and loved it. Once again, they did not disappoint. Everybody was super nice, the dogs were very enthusiastic, and it was a beautiful fun day. You could tell that the staff all really cared about the dogs and treated them well. We even had a little doggy drama when the dogs had to be switched around and untangled but that was all part of the fun. It was handled quickly with great skill and professionalism. Afterwards we went into the warm-up hut and had some hot chocolate. Would definitely recommend Muddy Paw Sled Dog Kennel!

What an awesome adventure! When they pull the sled out, all the dogs go crazy like " pick me". Matt, our musher was friendly and knowledgeable. All the dogs loved petting and attention. Wonderful ride through the snowy forest.

Absolutely worth every pretty penny to come here! Heather was such a nice warm person who showed us around and introduced some dogs and we had Garrett as our musher who was also just wonderful. You can tell how much they care about the dogs and the dogs themselves seem incredibly happy. If you're a dog person be prepared to leave feeling attached to some of the dogs and missing them later lol my partner and I were already talking about coming back before we had even left. Thank you guys for such an incredible experience!

Know going into it that you’ll have an amazing time, the team will do their best to accommodate your plans and that the weather can’t be controlled! We weren’t able to do the tour we originally booked due to icy conditions and lack of snow. That being said the team at muddy paws was proactive in communication and gave us an option to do another tour. Matt our musher was incredibly knowledgeable and made it a memorable experience for our whole family! The dogs were all so lovely, we are hoping to come back in the fall and experience it in another season!

Absolutely loved this experience!! From the couple mile fall cart ride to interacting with the dogs- such a memorable part of our VT/NH trip. We ended up finding a new family member as an unexpected surprise too. Highly recommend this experience as part of a fall trip to NH or VT!!❤️

Visiting the Muddy Paw Sled Dog Kennel was the coolest thing I've ever done. My husband and I did the Howl at the Moon tour on 3/8/18. Because it was late in the season, it didn't get dark during the tour but that didn't matter at all. We followed the email instructions on what to bring and how to dress and we were well prepared for the adventure. We arrived and were immediately greeted by our musher, Andrew, who showed us around the outdoor kennel and explained the process of preparing the dogs for the sled tour. We were allowed to greet every one of the 80+ dogs and help prepare the lucky ones that would be pulling our sled. When the dogs were ready, Andrew helped us sit in the sled and wrapped us up in a warm blanket. We were encouraged to take pictures and videos during the 5 mile tour. Andrew was awesome! He is very knowledgeable and friendly and answered all the questions we had. I could tell he loves his job! When the tour ended, Andrew took care of getting the sled dogs back to their kennels while we gave out treats and said good bye to all the dogs. It was a super cool experience and I am excited to go back next year!
