Water & Amusement Parks
The Waterpark at The Villages is a spectacular indoor aquatic haven that promises endless fun for families. Spanning an impressive 19,000 square feet, this glass-enclosed facility features thrilling attractions like exhilarating waterslides, a wave pool, and a relaxing lazy river. Young adventurers can splash around in the dedicated children's area filled with slides, waterfalls, and interactive water features including a massive bucket dump.
We loved this place we came to take kids to do something and to get away for a few days and we did and it was so much fun the kids loved it!!

We went in the Sunday (closes early at 6pm) before Labor Day & it was not too busy at all. Cool place, kids & adults had fun the whole time we were there, about 4 hrs or so. Skip the Kona Ice truck out front though... weak tasting flavors & small portions for too much money.
Brei M — Google review
A lot of fun for the whole family. Younger kids can enjoy a smaller water play area with three different slides, waterfalls, water guns, tipping buckets, and more. There is a lazy river, and a wave pool. Kids over 42 inches can use two different body slides, and anyone over 48 inches can ride the tube slides. The tube slides are fantastic, fast and long, and in the winter months when it gets darker you ride in complete darkness, adding to the fun! Life vests are available for use. Indoor and outdoor seating. The locker rooms are okay (bring flip flops/ sandals) because the floor is not the cleanest. There are two showers in the locker room, I would enjoy it if they would add more. Plenty of lifeguards, and the ones I've spoken to have been very kind and professional. My family spent 6 hours there last time, and we all had a blast! Overall it's a great experience and I highly recommend this place for families. Visited for the third time in January 2023. Same great experience, 8 and 6yo kids loved it. They had staff shortages though so you had to wait in line a bit longer, plus one of the two tube slides was closed.

Great value, kids had so much fun

Today we showed up for my son's birthday. We reserved the wilderness room for 1 hour. We stood in line only to find out that we didn't have to but since we stood in line we wasted some of the time we could have been in our room. Thankfully we didn't need the full hour. Also, their rule of only allowing food from their grill (which I never understood where it was because they kept telling me a different place) is actually quite annoying. We ended up giving up on getting the food and just kept to our cake and cookies. Personally, I will never do a party setup where we only get 1 hour in the room ever again. The preptime for the party was during party hours. The life guards where on top of things. There was a situation where I was tied up with my 2 year old and my 7 year old went under water and I couldn't get to him. The life guard wasted no time in getting to him. This was my first time and at 12:30pm the place was BUSY. Granted we did go here during the summer when school was out but honestly, I think it was too busy and probably above the amount of people that should have been there. There are tables and chairs all around the park. If you want one of those you better claim it. The park is compact which makes it hard to navigate when it's so busy. It's a big loud so if you have kids that are sensitive to that like my 2 year old was, be sure to prepare yourself for that. They have drinks and chips that you can purchase. The drinks are 20oz and they are nearly 4.00. There are lockers and showers in the women's restroom and more lockers outside. So you can go here, shower, and change into your clothes pretty easy. Overall I give this place 3 stars for the price of their drinks and chips and how annoying it was regarding the grill which we NEVER could get ahold of.

This place was perfect for our grand children!! It wasn't too busy and was just the right sized play area for them. They loved the slides best !! The entire staff was friendly and helpful. Clean restrooms and changing area. Over all a wonderful afternoon was had by all!!
MeLinda K — Google review
We made a quick trip to take the kids to the indoor water park at the end of August. Perfect time to go, not crowded or busy at all. The cabin was OK. The carpet was disgusting but what carpet isn't in a rental room? The indoor water park was alot smaller than I remember but it was fine for 2-3 hrs.they had a mini shallow wave pool, 2 body slides,2 tube slides, small lazy river(raft shortage) and a toddler playground. Life guards seemed mostly responsible. But only one life guards (the little blonde girl) were over kill fussing at all the babies and toddlers parents for everything including breathing. She's the reason you wouldn't want to stay long or enjoy your experience. Which is why I put 4 instead of 5 stars.

This place is awesome! Great family outing with just enough to entertain the kids but it doesn't feel overwhelming like many family activities...great spots to sit afterwards and enjoy the peacefulness yet fun to have music playing while picking the berries. Kids loved the sandbox and the store is awesome, too. We picked up some cherry bbq sauce (after we sampled) and the blueberry ice cream is the best I've had in my life...seriously might drive here on a Sunday with the kids just for the ice cream. Prices are very fair and for less than $100 we got a great family adventure day. And do not forget the blueberry donuts---best in the Tyler area by far! Thank you Blueberry Hill! I was sad to see the place is for sale so I hope the new owners keep everything the same! Love this place in ETX.
Jason S — Google review
What a great place for a family outing. Fresh Fresh blueberries galore! The blueberry donuts and muffins were amazingly delicious! The blueberry iced tea was so refreshing! They had pies, and syrups, and jellies, and of course blueberries! This family owned farm was a real treat to enjoy and explore.
Larry T — Google review
Went here not even 2 months ago and really enjoyed it with the family! We had fun picking the blueberries. We even had blueberry ice cream, and I also got some blueberry syrup as well. Great day! I WILL SAY THAT YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE OPEN BEFORE GOING. I believe their website says that it is temporarily closed due to it probably not being blueberry picking season right now. We were there just under 2 months ago. I would recommend getting there right when they open, if they are open, and make sure to check the website before getting in the car. 😎✌️❤️

We visited Blueberry Hill Farms in Edom, Texas on Saturday, June 21st and had a wonderful experience! It’s a charming spot not too far from Dallas, perfect for a weekend outing. The farm itself was lovely, and their store was full of great finds. We especially enjoyed the blueberry donuts, pies, pickles, and jam—they were absolutely delicious! Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area. Watch full video in Tint & Travel channel in YouTube .

This was my fifth year coming to pick blueberries and its always a beautiful experience! Fresh blueberries, great customer service, great selection of items in store and delicious desserts/drinks. I can't wait to come back to pick blackberries once they are ready.
Lauren B — Google review
Wonderful place to visit, homemade pies, blueberry coffee, scones, and a variety of flavored jams and several rows of wonderful blueberries located just on the outskirts of Edom, Texas. Watch as they make their blueberry donuts. You have the option of either picking your own fresh blueberries or buying a bucket already picked . Adorable shops line the main street of this small quaint town. It's definitely a must-see !!! Can't wait to visit again.
Chiquita L — Google review
We visited for second consecutive year and will keep on visiting for the following years as well. Very welcoming helpful staff. A healthy and interesting summer activity for my family. My kids love to compete each other in picking the best and most berries and the owner shares the location for good bushes as well by color markers (we found the pink ribbons tied to the rows with ready to pick berries. A good advice is to have fun picking up the berries but then try to purchase the ones picked by the farmers because they are experts. Secondly try to be here as early as possible in the morning to avoid summer heat.
Danish R — Google review
I have taken my kids here every summer for 15 years. Great family outing and delicious blueberries. The blueberry soft serve ice cream would be worth the trip from Dallas all by itself.

Super Fun place to take kids for the day! Clean place - just enough slides to keep kids entertained. Lined weren’t too long. Food wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad. You can take a cooler in just make sure your drinks are sealed. Will definitely be going back!

We had a rented cabana and had a wonderful server named Alex. He was very busy and rushing around to help everyone. The management of splash kingdom sent him home for trying to help. We found a wasps nest inside our seating after one of our members were stung. We had lots of children and had told multiple workers. Alex had to run some food orders as it was VERY busy and he was serving 24 people easily. He told us to move to the cabana next to us until they got spray. Management came over to the cabana we were sitting at and had an attitude with us asking if we rented it and we explained the situation. She was very rude and snarky. She told us someone rented this cabana and we’re going to want it. Which I replied and said we would move but I’d like the furniture in ours to be moved and replaced so no one else was stung. She left and never came back. Shortly later Alex had come by to let us know he was going home and wouldn’t be able to serve us the rest of our visit. They sent him home for trying to ensure the safety of our children and other guests. Very disappointed in their rude management and the way they treat their employees. I asked why they sent him home and was told it was because he was supposed to take care of the wasp situation even while trying to run food back and forth for 24+ people. Out of everyone we told Alex was the ONLY person to help. Thank you again Alex and don’t forget your worth. Find a job that appreciates your hard work! You were wonderful given the circumstances.

First, we had great fun, and the kids loved it. Of course, the hot sun is hard, so bring plenty of sun skin protection. It was very busy with long lines for the rides, but it is worth it. Everything was very nice, and the staff was great answering questions and helping when we needed help. We enjoyed our time here. Yes I recommend.
Rene G — Google review
My family had a blast! I want to share that if you're military, wait to purchase tickets at the door. The cooler pass is worth it! Bring food for the whole family! They do have drink passes at the door for $8 a person. We rented a cabana. It was worth it. We got drink bands. Our server filed us up and took our food order. So no waiting in line! This also helped our daughter with celiac not get contaminated food. There are lots of water slides and one of those surf areas too! Lazy river and wave pool along with several kiddie areas. Don't forget to play in the bubbles! I would recommend for the cabanas to get pull down shades. If this review helped you, please give it a thumbs up! #crazykleinadventure
Emily K — Google review
I am giving this park 2 stars, because the staff was super nice, there were plenty of lounge chairs, and the lines weren’t super long. HOWEVER… the bathrooms and lazy river were INCREDIBLY dirty. I’ve never seen such filth at a water park before. The lazy river was absolutely teeming with ants and bugs, and my daughter found a small dead frog in it. One of the worst things was that out of our party of 6, there were 4 of us that got stuck on the wavy pink slide. By stuck, I mean right after the first little drop, we all got stuck in the curve after that and had to scoot down. I am incredibly claustrophobic and had to force myself to deep breathe and remain calm as I took about 5 minutes to slide down. I had noticed people took a while to get down but when I asked the lady at the top she said “Oh that slide takes a long time”. I find it hard to believe they aren’t aware that people get stuck on this slide. My daughter in law said a little girl got stuck on there. They had to blow a whistle until she got down to the opening. There were almost no 2 person tubes, and the single rider tubes were almost all half deflated. Splash Kingdom… CLOSE THAT SLIDE or at the least alert people. You don’t want a small child getting stuck in there and panicking. This place was disgusting and I’ll stick with the smaller but immensely cleaner Greenville park from now on.
Centrifugal M — Google review
Saturday I would suggest not going. Hot, overcrowded, and stinky water, kids were sick for a week afterward from the pee water. Other than that, they had a blast while we were there. We have been before on not so crowded days, and it's a totally different experience.

Flea & Street Markets
First Monday Trade Days is a well-established flea market that operates for four days each month, offering a wide range of antiques, collectibles, and unique items. While this event has put Canton on the map, there's much more to explore in this picturesque East Texas town. Visitors can enjoy activities such as golfing at scenic courses, experiencing thrills at the water park, and indulging in fishing adventures.
We loved it!! So many great finds, it was hard to decide what to fit in the car. Great selection of food, plenty of parking, and just about everything available for purchase. Love to support local artists and craftspeople and they are ALL HERE.
Heather D — Google review
PROS: 1) great way to entertain a young family 2) dependable selection of live plants and Mexican imports 3) free entry and hours of browsing 4) dog friendly 5) lots of parking 6) scooter rentals available 7) toilets in every building 8) friendly vendors & staff CONS: 1) typical State Fair Sham-Wow Bldg goods (very little hand-made or artisan ware) 2) very few vintage clothing booths 3) not designed for resellers 4) weather dependent I came on a reconnaissance mission for my vintage shop and made sure to walk the entirety of the grounds so as to offer a fair report. This is a typical flea-market set-up except this one is huge and has pavilion like buildings. One is reminded of the merchandise advertisement building at the State Fair selling Sham-Wows, hot tubs, and cheap Chinese trinkets. This is that. But bigger. A reseller may find some one-offs but not enough of anything at good value for stock. What it lacks in use for a resellers business it’s loaded with in Southern charm! The food offerings range from barbecue to funnel cake, chicken salad sandwiches to fried corn. Grab a beer or a coffee and relax while strolling with friends through the live plant selections and the cool metal yard art displays. At least half is outdoors and weather dependent so bring an umbrella, walking shoes, and a cart.
Raven R — Google review
This place has so much to do, you’re guaranteed a full days worth of activity and walking through all the vendors. Great for people who enjoy flea markets like me, not great for people who don’t want to walk a ton. Love it!
Sam P — Google review
Been a long time and FYI have to reserve carts before you get there. The mountain and that whole area is 90% closed. So just the main area is still open. Soo crowded. Everything closes by 5. Get there early, eat at 11. After 11 there will be a 30 minute wait everywhere. The app is horrible, doesn't show where you are and no search function. BUT, got some really good deals and unique finds.
Jeff L — Google review
Lots of antiques, crafts, ect.was definitely a good day fo a walk around. They have lots of food an some good sweet tea from porch swing / after first purchase for 6bucks refills are 3$ just bring the jar

I have a booth in walkway by the creek in Pavilion III. Have lived in Canton 30 years and had a booth 25. You can find all kinds of things! Love the people I have met over the years both vendors and customers ❤️
Lorri C — Google review
Always find great deals . This time we got to spend the whole weekend. And probably still didn't get to shop all . So big and so much to see 😁 Remember always support the small businesses
Rene H — Google review
Check website for cost to park - otherwise it's free. This place is HUGE so expect a lot of walking on gravel, paved walkways, grass, and stairs. If you're looking for anything specific, utilize the map to find those areas. There's vendors both inside the buildings, in the open-air roof-covered areas, and out in the fields on the grass. You can find everything from antiques to homemade salsa to country wear to kawaii to toys to furniture. Certain areas feel like a farmers market and certain areas feel like a flea market and certain areas feel like a thrift store. It's an interesting mesh of mostly overpriced vendors with food options/trucks sprinkled throughout. The scooters that can be rented were practically racing through areas with fragile items and clogging up busy walking spaces so keep a look out so you're not run over. I saw one woman on a scooter smash into two tables of glass and get stuck and blame the vendor for the tight space.

We had the best time zip lining! We were looking for an adventure for my son’s 14th birthday when I found this. Booked for 9 people, ages ranging from 10 - 65 years. Everyone was so helpful and the guides were great! We had a couple people in our group that are afraid of heights, but thanks to the guides and feeling safe the whole time, everyone had a blast. If you’re thinking of going, do it! And do the whole 9 lines. Totally worth it! My son had a wonderful time on his birthday.

This was an epic day! The guys helping are so nice and so knowledgeable. We felt safe and had an absolute blast! We had the privilege of taking our 85 year old friend to check off a bucket list item. The staff treated her like a queen! I can't wait to go back. Bonus: the views are INCREDIBLE!

This place is a hidden gem! The owner Heith made our visit a pleasant experience. We went to the place after making a reservation with 5 and 7 year old kids and Heith was so accommodating to everything he could so that our kids get experience zip lining. The views are amazing and highly recommend this place (especially if you are staying at the Piney Wood Cabins). This was our first time trying Zip Lining and we had a great time.

My husband and I had a great experience and the staff was very friendly! Forgive me but I can't remember the lady's name but she took our photos and was the sweetest out of the bunch. Carson was a hoot! Great conversation on the porch. The younger gentleman Christian was very kind and talkative. Recommended Twisted Root Burger in Athens (Thanks dude it was awesome!) And finally shootout to our 4 legged friend Woody! When we come back, we'll be sure to bring you and your buddy a new toy. Thanks yall!

Connie, Chuck, Carson, and crew are amazing. You will instantly feel at home and safe. They make the experience so inviting and fun. All the extra touches are there. Water, Popsicles, and most importantly, laughter and fun. The views are Amazing!!!! I cannot recommend their business enough. If you want a great family, or date, experience, go to New York Zip Lines. You will return, I guarantee it!! 😍😍🤩

This place was amazing. The staff God bless the owners. They are the sweetest, most kindhearted people I have never met, so patient, makes you feel like home, safety is their number 1 goal. So if you happen to be in Dallas and looking for adventures please by all means make your way there and you will thank me. Amazing fun zipline it was. Love love them.

Wow! What a great experience. Top notch service and amazing views. The 6 line tour was perfect for my daughter’s first zip line experience. Super nice folks!

Such a great experience all around. Not just the fun but the people who runs it and the owner. We had a great time with the family meeting other group as well. First of all the view is stunning. They are the highest point in East Texas. Soak in the view when you are there. Lots of shade and a huge front porch to hangout as well. If you are going in the summer, pick the earliest time. They have everything you need. If you are going to video, bring your camera with its mount. They have GoPro mount but be sure to bring all the parts with you. If you have a large group, call and ask if you can have a snack or picnic by bringing your own food. This is a great place for family or groups or any kind of celebration. Highly recommended this.

Chantal and her team are amazing!!! We had such an amazing experience. I tried scheduling massages and facials the week that we were going and she made it work for us. She was in constant communication with me and kept me updated. We were greeted with some really refreshing drinks and with her team ready. I definitely would go back here! The atmosphere was so relaxing and just truly enjoyed our experience. Thank you Chantal for the wonderful experience!! 5 stars for sure!!

We chose the Retreat for a lady's birthday weekend get-away. The owner, Chantal, went above and beyond to help coordinate our Special Spa day! The facials and massages were excellent! Every woman who attended said it was one of the best spa experiences they'd ever experienced. We don't live in the area, but we'll be back. Thank you for making our celebration so memorable!!💗

Hands down the best Spa in Athens… Chantal is the sweetest, best massage therapist!!! About a year ago I called their spa in a lot of pain, she was booked up, but stayed late one night to fit me in! Ever since then I see her monthly, for a great massage!

I've been coming here for 8 months now. Chantal is amazing! She works with my ever changing schedule (even very last minute changes). She's very good about reminder texts! And the massages! Omg, she's brilliant! I can't give a review of anyone else because Chantal is the only one I've seen! Why shop around if I found a great one? The spa is very warm, inviting and homey! Not a "clinical" experience! Will definately keep coming here!

I came from out of town to visit my mom. She goes to this place regularly and sees Chantal. I had Beatrice for my massage and it was wonderful. She massaged 22 years of tension out of my shoulders lol. I've never felt better. I've had a massage before but this was above and beyond. She's amazing at her craft.

My husband and I came here for our first couples massage for our anniversary weekend! When we first arrived we were welcomed by Ashley, and she was so nice. We were definitely not disappointed and it was everything we expected and more. Shannon and Chantal were great and made us feel so comfortable and welcome!
Monica T — Google review
Highly recommend this place! Chantal is excellent at what she does! I was traveling to Texas from CT and was in desperate need of some relaxation time and a massage. I have a high stress job, physical job, and some prior injuries. Chantal listened to my needs and delivered great techniques that totally helped my body. This place is so cute and staff is so friendly! I immediately felt better upon leaving! I can not believe how accommodating they were with being able to fit me in. Staff takes their time with clients which made me really able to feel relaxed, I have been to other places where I felt rushed.

Great experience! My mother-in-law and I had massages here in May. She had a hot stone massage and I had a prenatal massage. They make sure you are comfortable and tailor the massage to your needs. The staff are so polite and professional. We both enjoyed our massages very much! I am definitely planning on going back!

Purtis Creek State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
Large state park offering hiking & biking, bass fishing & boating, plus campsites.
I had an amazing time at Purtis Creek State Park! The park is peaceful, clean, and not too crowded, which made it super relaxing. The lake is beautiful, great for fishing, kayaking, or just sitting by the water to enjoy the view. Trails are easy to walk and well-marked, with plenty of shade along the way. Campsites were clean, spacious, and felt private enough for a quiet stay. BTW, the restrooms were super cleaned and entry fee is $5 per person. Child under 12 is no cost. Overall, it’s a great spot to escape the city, recharge, and spend quality time outdoors. Definitely planning to go back!

Fantastic park, enjoyed every minute of it. Terrific trails, well maintained, and not too crowded. We can't wait to try the rustic camping areas and fishing off the docks next time. We saw a whole family of deer too, with twin fawns! Tiny frogs and fish too, it was wonderful and relaxing.

The calm lake was perfect for paddleboarding. Easy access launch by the boat ramp as well. I saw kayaks available for rent as well (no paddleboards). Trails are well marked and easy to navigate. Raccoons will get into your put up high trash. Take it to the nearby dumpster when camping before you go to bed!

This is a great state park close to Dallas Fort Worth, Metroplex lake has a history of some really great bass fishing the campsites, both with electrical and primitive are well laid out, and you’re not very close to your neighbor. There are kayaks for rent at the boat launch. If you’re bringing your own boat, this is an “idle only” lake. The lake is known for bass but there is also a lot of great catfish in the lake too.

Nice quiet park. Sites are level and easy to get into. Park staff very friendly. Hike trails are well maintained. Two fishing piers. We tried to catch but didnt have any luck behind our camp site.

It’s so beautiful and peace i can’t even describe.. the day we went was raining so it was very cold and mind that we went on the month of July… And after 12pm it was even colder which was perfect..everything was very convenient and the restrooms were super clean just raccoon was the main problem over there, be careful with the food and keep your trash secure

Nice park not big but a beautiful lake and very nice trails . Me and my wife are looking forward to camping there when we return to Putis Creek .

Participated in the Bow hunting Demonstration at Purtis Creek State Park and got to meet several Texas Parks & Wildlife volunteers as well as Purtis Creek State Park staff including the superintendent. I am solidly impressed with this park and will definitely visit again soon. Thank you TPWD for an amazing weekend.

Park
1460-acre park alongside a 2400-acre lake, for fishing, camping, hiking & horseback riding.
This was one of our favorite trips and sits high on the list of favorite campgrounds. It didn't hurt that we nearly had the whole park to ourselves since we camped during the very brief winter storm this year. That aside, the campground was very clean and well maintained. There were plenty of trails some of them very scenic, some of them simply meandering through the woods. The lake was beautiful and quiet and very serene. There were only a few boats this time of year and as mentioned, nearly zero people present. So we had nearly all of the wildlife to ourselves which meant we got to see a lot more wildlife. We did see a couple of bald eagles from a distance, which was a nice treat. The bird watching area was particularly cool and there were literally thousands of ducks in the cove. When they would get startled it sounded like an ocean wave. I can't help but think it would have been a far different experience if the campground was full like we thought it was going to be. But I'm sure it would be pleasurable either way, just in different ways. We will definitely go back.

Amazing camping sites. The pads are paved and the majority are level. We stayed at 69 pull through site with water and electric with a great view of the lake. Hiking trails were great and well maintained. The park staff were friendly and helpful.

Drove through and used the day-use area this weekend. Trust me when I say I KNOW this is not the most accurate time to get a reading of the park since it’s closing on Tuesday and people are rushing to use it while they can. That being said there was a lot of traffic when we went, and idk if that’s typical for the park year-round. I will say though that the bathrooms are tight spaces and the one I went to was quite messy. Again though, the messiness could be because a lot of people want to see the park before it closes. Another thing is that I’m not a big fan of the tent sites being intermixed with the RV sites. Lots of the sites are close together. I feel like you wouldn’t get much privacy camping here. However, it is unfortunate that it is closing down :(

This is a beautiful park! I saw deer, river otters, armadillos, possums and racoons, ducks too! It's spacious, clean and best of all, no road noise from nearby highways! Super staff. Major downer-swim area is getting taken over with some sort of lake weed. Sort of looks like seaweed. It's choking out the space and looks very nasty. The grassy bank area has lots of picnic tables and looked pretty nice but the water? Yucky. My camping spot in the Springfield loop was very nice and butted up against the lake but again, it's so overgrown with lake grass and the weedy stuff, you can't access it or really even see it, which is unfortunate. It would be perfect to have some lake access for kayaks and paddleboards right from the camping loops. The boat ramps seems pretty busy with big boat traffic. A lake side trail would be awesome too! I'd definitely come back though.

Beautiful state park, with plenty of hiking. If going in summer, make sure you have tick protection for you and pets, you will need it. Quiet, beautiful, and not terribly far from a small town. Day use area was nice, but there is a lot of water weeds in the swimming area.

Fairfield Lake State Park is a hidden gem for campers. Very quiet park with many pull through sites suitable for long RVs. Very little internet/ phone service. You can view a lot of wildlife while on the trails. The views are gorgeous. The lake stays fairly warm. The swim area can get crowded. It's a great place to unwind.

Beautiful park with some very spacious sites! Our girls really enjoyed the seinic hike that was set up with a book donated by a local library to read along the way along with additional information to learn a bit about various animals that can be found in the forest. Great place and we look forward to visiting again!

Gorgeous place for camping and relaxing. The hiking trails are well marked and easy to navigate. Took one star off because the shoreline is riddled with algea bloom making shore fishing and wadeing near impossible. Kiddos were bummed about that. We stayed at cooks ferry site #97. It was very spacious and very clean. Bathrooms are great with hot showers. The connections utility connections are overall in good shape. A great relaxing experience.

My husband and I went to this office to apply for our marriage license, and were pleasantly surprised at the kindness and professionalism by everyone at this office! From the security officers at the entrance, to the clerk at the front desk, and especially Cassie who helped us file for our license, we were touched to have that special moment of applying for our marriage be so smooth and joyful. Thank you all for what you are doing to change the stereotype of government agencies into a positive experience!

Came here to fill a child’s passport application. The office was organized and friendly. Took about 15 minutes because we had all our documents. We came on 4/25, paid for expedited, the passport arrived today on 5/7. You will need originals and copies of originals front and back. Also you will need a money order for the passport and pay a separate fee for the application (for the application fee you can pay with your debit). Hope this helps. Lastly, their hours are from 8am - 2pm, not 3 as stated in google.

Had a passport appointment today. The ladies in the passport department were very nice, courteous, and patient. They made the process seamless and quick. We were early and rather than making us wait they also started our appointment early. We appreciate them for their hard work and dedication.

They require you to call for an appointment, but don't answer the phone when you do. Great, I'll just leave a message, as requested. No callback though. And I'm required to pay $35 per application for their "service", if and when I'm ever able to get an appointment?

Went in to get a birth certificate and they were super quick and nice!! Both people I talked to were super welcoming and helpful, only took about 10 minutes to get the document.
Alicia B — Google review
Not friendly. They tell you just what you need to know, nothing helpful. Bring a bank check for passport fee, they don't take cash or credit. BUT they do take credit for their fee and charge you $2 to use! She could have told us this when we had to run to the bank. Also tou have to make copies of your license, any change and old passport- @25cents each. Really.🤨

Fort Parker State Park

Sights & Landmarks
Lakeside park offering campsites & indoor shelters, plus fishing, swimming, hiking trails & more.
🌳 A Beautiful and Family-Friendly Getaway at Fort Parker State Park 🌳 We had such a great family weekend at Fort Parker State Park! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel completely welcome — super friendly and helpful, which really set the tone for our stay. We were lucky to stay in Shelter 8, and it couldn’t have been a better spot. Clean, comfortable, and just a short walk to some absolutely stunning lake views. Seriously, waking up and seeing that calm, scenic water in the morning made the whole trip feel extra peaceful. It’s the kind of view you can just sit and stare at for hours. The park itself was beautiful — lots of open space, quiet trails, and plenty of spots for the kids (and adults) to explore. We spent our days hiking, fishing, and just soaking in nature. It’s the perfect place for a low-key, family-friendly camping trip where you can truly relax and unplug. The only downside? There’s just one shower for the whole campground. Not a dealbreaker by any means, but it’s good to plan ahead if you’re visiting during a busy weekend. Overall, Fort Parker State Park gave us everything we were hoping for — gorgeous views, friendly people, and a lot of great family memories. We can’t wait to come back!

A beautiful campground! Be sure to drive down to the kayaking/fishing/primitive camp area on the far side of the lake to the Navasota River. Stunning! Beautiful sunsets over the lake. Frog chorus at night. White and great blue herons in abundance on the lake. We stayed here 3 nights in late-August, very few others camping.

We are doing the great State Park challenge! So far, we have visited 4 out of 89- and Fort Parker was top tier as far as trails, history and water recreation goes. So many great adventures await you at this non assuming, small town State Park. Highly recommend planning a day or even a weekend and going! 🏞🥾🐟🕊

Beautiful sites right on the lake. Was perfect for my 22 foot RV. However, any longer and I feel it would be very difficult to navigate in and out of RV area. (Though it can be done) There is only one road that leads down to a turn around that feels pretty tight. Water and electrical hook ups are available. Very peaceful area to get away and close enough to town to get food and supplies if needed. Good shade provided by the trees. Seems to be well maintained when I was there as far as mowed grass area. Some of picnic tables provided need to be updated due to appearing to be falling apart. Play ground for the kids is within a short walk from sites. Definitely recommend.

First State park that I have been to that the staff checking me in was not nice. Park showers need a LOT of work. No shower heads and extreme pressure takes off your first layer of skin. Trees are nice. Not many trails.

Campsite on a reservoir known for its catfish, bass & striper fishing & swimming/scuba locales.
Screened in cabins were affordable, clean, and convenient for the rainy weather. Would recommend a bring your own, padlock, water hose, surge protector, fan and wood for onsite grill & the fire pit. Restrooms were clean in most areas. Also had stalls and showers. Complimentary life vest were at all water entry areas for safety 👍🏾.

The lake is huge and has plenty of spots to park yourself and enjoy the views. If you are feeling adventurous, there are several areas where you can jump off the bluffs and enjoy the cool waters. There are designated boat ramps to enjoy the lake if you have water sports toys like jet-skis and boats. The are where we were at had restrooms but unfortunately it was locked. The area could definitely also use trash/ recycle bins as there were plenty of cans and bottles lying around. The terrain is rocky so it is best to wear water shoes to prevent any injuries.
T B — Google review
The state park is a drive (20 minutes) from the highway. Park signs are not the best, so a camp map would be good to have. We reserved a spot on the waters edge. Spaces there are not level, even with blocks used. It is quiet, tree filled, and sunsets and morning sun do make it nice. Only water and power at site. The dump station is on the way out of park.
Kevin K — Google review
This is a great RV camping area for anyone. Be aware of the sticker bugs that will get in your dogs fur. That is my only negative and why I’m giving four stars instead of five. If going front the Dallas area the drive is great for a weekend adventure. I booked the last spot available for the 4th of July and got a pull through space#50. Full hookup. 20/30&50 amp. It has lots of room even for a large class A. Campers were not stacked on top of each other. Lots of room. Great privacy in the campsite #50 hiking trail. RV Seating setup faces the woods. The lake is a long walk from this campsite area. You will need a bike or golf cart if you don’t want to walk a mile. There are fantastic lake sites with beautiful views. There are great tent camping sites as well as really nice day use areas. East arrival processes. my only complaint and it’s a big one if you have a dog with lots of fur. There are extremely tiny sticker bugs everywhere. I spent every day picking them from my dogs, mouth area, her paws, her tail. Every time she takes a step or sniff the ground, lots of little tiny sticker bugs gets in her hair. They are not the normal size stickers in a park or Lawn. Which makes it even more annoying, and I had to cut some of them out. This is a good campground if you don’t have a furry dog. I probably wouldn’t go back just because of the stickers.

Always has been and always will be one of my favorite parks. Plenty of camping sites, always friendly staff, and the water... just... yeah... the water. My only real complaint is the lack of good hiking. There are only two trails and really only one (Two Bridges) is worth it (to me) as the other is more of a walk through a neighbor's field back home that could be found anywhere. The restroom areas are always clean, the park itself is wonderfully maintained, and the camp site areas vary enough that anyone will be able to find one that will fit their needs.
Tim V — Google review
From a newbie tent camper: We stayed at the Horseshoe Loop 16 which was not far (maybe 1 block) from public restrooms, which were pretty clean (I didn’t use the showers though can’t speak to that). We had electricity with 2 regular plugs plus 2 other larger plugs (sorry, I don’t know the name, assuming they are for RVs). The water faucet was on our campsite which was a hose faucet (a lot of people brought water hoses, we did not); also there was a concrete picnic table. There is concrete parking spot for your vehicle, trees for shade above our tent and picnic table. Camp sites are somewhat close together…I would have preferred to be a little farther from our neighbors but not bad. It was quiet. Lots of little army ants but they didn’t bug us (pun intended) and lots of crickets to be heard at night as well as little acorns falling on the tent. Otherwise it was very quiet. The park has access to the beautiful Lake Whitney, maybe a mile from the horseshoe campsite. But there are campsites closer to the lake. There is an easy hiking trail thats a little less than a mile that’s perfect for kids or someone that needs an easy path. The path is shaded. Plenty of geocaching around and there was a gentleman there on Saturday who explained 101 geocaching to all park goers. It was a beautiful park. There was a fire ban but no bodies fault. We just brought an electric s’more maker. It’s a great state park!
Brittnay A — Google review
I've been camping here since I was a kid. We go with the Scouts now and it's just a nice as it was back then. Its just fast enough from DFW to feel like you're getting away but closer enough to get there after work with enough time to get your tent set up before dark.

The Texas Ranger Hall of Fame & Museum in Waco, Texas, is a tribute to the legendary lawmen who have served and protected the region since 1823. The museum, established in 1968, showcases over 20,000 artifacts including firearms, badges, saddles and uniforms used by the rangers throughout history. It also features an extensive collection of fine art depicting early Western life.
The Texas Ranger Museum in Waco offers a fascinating dive into the rich history of the Rangers, tracing their roots from the early days of cowboys and Native American encounters and the evolution of the revolver to modern crime scene investigation methods. This is the perfect spot to explore their storied past, with well-curated exhibits that bring their legacy to life. A must-visit for every cowboy at heart!

I’ve been wanting to come here for many years to check it out, and never had been able to until today! The many exhibits of firearms from past and present Rangers are a big part of the Rangers history. They also had several items from the old Lone Ranger TV show , and even a few from Walker, Texas Ranger on display. If you are a fan of history, it’s a great place to come visit!

I loved it. I haven't visited in 20 years and was excited to take my grandchildren this time. It has expanded so much and the exhibits were really nice. The scavenger hunt was fun and kept the kids engaged.

We visited the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame as part of a homeschool outing and were truly impressed! The museum is much larger than it looks from the outside, with so much to see and learn. The exhibits are fascinating, and the introductory video was excellent—very informative and engaging. While we were part of a larger group (mostly from Fort Worth), we want to sincerely apologize for the rowdy and disrespectful behavior from many in that group. They were not part of our personal homeschool circle, and we were honestly embarrassed by the noise and lack of manners. Despite the challenges, our tour guide was incredibly patient and kind the entire time. She handled the situation with grace and continued the tour with professionalism and warmth. We really appreciated her and the whole experience. We also enjoyed browsing the gift shop and picked up some great items. We’re already planning to come back again next year on our own. Highly recommend for anyone interested in Texas history!

The Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum in Waco is a must-visit! The video presentation was outstanding—it didn’t shy away from sharing the good, bad, and ugly of Texas Ranger history, which made for an informative and engaging experience. The entire museum is exceptionally clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate. The exhibits are well done and packed with fascinating artifacts that bring history to life. The Waco Suspension Bridge, a historic landmark in Texas, was built in 1870 and was the longest of its kind west of the Mississippi at that time. It spans the Brazos River and consists of over 3 million bricks. The bridge offers picturesque views during both day and night, with the river reflecting moonlight after dark. Originally constructed for cattle, travelers, soldiers, and settlers, it now only allows pedestrian traffic.
We really enjoyed spending time at the suspension bridge. It's handicap accessible. The bronze statues were so real looking. They almost take you back in time. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting this place.
William J — Google review
Great bridge to visit when in Waco. So much history in one single place. One can only imagine how it was crossing the river before the bridge was build. Today the bridge is well maintained and easy to walk. There are great views to the west and east, and you can walk the nearby parks along both sides of the river. We walked it a Saturday near lunch. Not to many people. And when you walk it from south to north you end up at a farmer’s market.
Dan M — Google review
The kind of bridge that is reminiscent of something from the East Coast. To which, the builder was from New York. Spanning the Brazos and near to Baylor University and nice hotels, the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and much more, this is a sweet suspension bridge featured in a clean and nice little city.

Kenneth B — Google review
The Waco Suspension Bridge, completed 155 years ago in 1870 using cables from the builders of the Brooklyn Bridge, was the first major suspension bridge in Texas. Spanning 475 feet across the Brazos River, it served the public for over 100 years—carrying cattle, wagons, and pedestrians—until it closed to vehicles in 1971 and now stands as a scenic pedestrian landmark.

It showcases the legacy of Dr. Pepper, one of the oldest and most iconic soft drinks globally, created before Coca-Cola. The museum offers visitors an opportunity to delve into the brand's history through various activities such as making soda, tasting different flavors, and exploring paranormal encounters.
I had an amazing experience at the Dr Pepper Museum, thank y’all so much for making this Birthday another amazing, very special day. To me that means a lot, y’all had an awesome, friendly staff, great flavor selection for the Soda Laboratory/Make-A-Soda. The Staff Gave Me A Birthday Pin To Go and I absolutely love it! We visited as part of a conference held at the Waco Convention Center so we were not charged admission. But if we were charged admission, I would say that it is worth it. The museum tells the history of Dr. Pepper, including the original artesian well that provided the water for a time. Be sure to check out the gift shop for some really clever souvenirs. The soda shop has Dr. Pepper drinks for sale as well as U.S. history. Specifically, the shop has exhibits on the civil rights movement and sit-ins at lunch counters, as well as the history of women in the workplace. Both museums are really well done.

We had a great time visiting the Dr Pepper Museum! It was both fun and educational with lots of interesting history about one of America’s most iconic sodas. The exhibits were well put together and easy to follow with a nice mix of artifacts, photos, and interactive features. One of the best parts? We got a free soda at the end and it was delicious, ice cold, and made the experience even sweeter. If you’re a fan of soda history or just looking for a unique activity, this museum is definitely worth the visit.

Ok so before you go realize that it is a museum about the local Waco culture and is not directly about the soda brand lol. We thought it was like still active but that's on us. You can't beat the price for this cute museum. It was totally fun to check out the history of the Dr. PEPPER- Alot of history... almost too much but, with a quick one hour experience- we didn't make our own soda, but we definitely got a float at the end and it free cup of Dr. Pepper. So it was a fun way to wrap up the experience and tons of picture opportunities between the 2 buildings.

Cameron Park Zoo is a sprawling 52-acre zoo located within Cameron Park along the Brazos River. It is home to over 1,700 animals from 300 different species. The zoo offers various attractions for visitors, including a clear slide through the river otter habitat and a 50,000-gallon aquarium. Children can enjoy activities at Grammy Nells playground area and witness live animal presentations.
Visited this zoo on a spontaneous Friday afternoon trip from Austin and it was very quiet (only saw a few other visitors) which made for a more enjoyable experience! Arrived at 3:30 and the park closes at 5 but still had enough time to see everything! Although some exhibits are under construction like the gibbon lake right when you walk in. Clean, walkable, lots of shade and places to sit, if neeeded. It’s a well-designed zoo with a wide arrange of animals. I especially liked the indoor exhibit with all the snakes, as well as the giraffes and penguins.

My husband and I have went to Austin Zoo and San Antonio Zoo, and although those 2 are good, the Waco zoo is BEST. The staff is nice, the atmosphere is great, clean and family friendly especially for kids. We saw animals we have never seen, and the bathrooms were clean and smelled great. We will definitely come back!
Paola S — Google review
Not sure if it’s because it’s the dead of summer or if it’s because places like this aren’t frequented like they used to be but I was a little sad seeing all the animals hiding from the heat with little fresh water to be seen. Some of the enclosures were cleaner and well kept than others. With that being said the grounds are clean and the facilities are well kept. Staff seemed friendly but didn’t see many people working and staff was very minimal. The zoo is a decent size and is under renovation in many areas. Maybe when these are all done and things reopen it will be a better experience.

Éxcellent zoo experience! The zoo is a great size, we strolled the exhibits for about 3 hours with plenty of time to stop and look. Not too busy either on a Friday afternoon. The animals looked well kept and moderately active, the staff was kind and not invasive at all, and the layout has plenty of restrooms and indoor stops to take a break from the heat if the day. You can pay at the gate ($18/person) and bring your own food and drinks. I really don't have anything bad to say at all. Will be back again!

My primary reason for going to the Cameron Park Zoo was for the Penguin Encounter. It was super cute and our guide, Candice, was awesome. The zoo had some wonderful animals on display 😍 including a 49-year-old elephant in addition to a 31-year-old penguin. Plenty of places to sit & a small hiking trail. You could easily spend a couple hours at this gem.

Cameron Park Zoo is such a great place to visit! Super easy to walk through with tons of amazing animals and a wide variety of exhibits. It’s really toddler-friendly — smooth paths, shaded areas, and plenty to keep little ones entertained. We spent about 2–3 hours walking at a faster pace, and it was the perfect size — not huge, but big enough to wear out my 1.5-year-old! Easily one of my favorite zoos we’ve visited across the country.

The workers were super nice and very helpful! The only animals that weren’t there were the otters, or atleast they weren’t out at that time. All the animals look taken care of and healthy! The gift shop was kinda expensive considering the tickets were only $18. A magnet was $15..

This is one of my favorite zoos ever. The enrichment in the enclosures is great, and the keepers are always so kind and educational. Side note: The chicken tender combo from the cafe is fantastic! I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. Large portions, made fresh, and great quality.

Waco Mammoth National Monument is a significant paleontological site that showcases the in-situ fossils of a herd of Ice Age mammoths and other animals. This national monument, established in 2009 and covering 100 acres, offers guided tours through wooded parkland along the Brazos River to the dig shelter. Visitors can experience the terrain and life during the Ice Age while learning about the discovery of these fossils.
My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way down to Galveston and had a really great time. It only cost a few dollars to get in and we got to take the guided tour and learn all about how these mammoths and other fossils were discovered in this area. We headed to the gift shop and purchased the usual souvenirs (shot glass, magnet) as well as some matching T-shirts and some super cool minerals! Then after that, we hiked on one of the trails and the Rangers weren’t even mad when we came back late because we got lost. 😆 it was a great time, we would recommend for both kids and adult adults alike!
Gina M — Google review
Waco Mammoth National Monument was a really cool and unexpected find. It’s not every day you get to see actual mammoth fossils still in the ground where they were discovered! The covered dig site is the highlight—climate-controlled and well laid out, with elevated walkways so you get a great view of the fossils without disturbing anything. We took the guided tour, which I highly recommend. Our guide was knowledgeable and made the history feel very alive, explaining how the mammoths likely ended up there and what makes the site so special. There's also a short nature trail and a small visitor center with some interesting displays and a gift shop. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is the price. For a National Park Service site, it felt a little pricey, especially since the visit is on the shorter side—maybe an hour to 90 minutes total unless you linger. Still, it's a unique and educational stop that’s well worth it if you're in the Waco area. Great for families, history buffs, or anyone who just thinks mammoths are awesome (because they are!).

We stopped in with only 45 minutes of time available and managed to get in the full tour. The tour guide (John Proctor) did an outstanding job- much better than I was expecting. He was informative while also being entertaining. I appreciated his passion. The walk to the dig site is paved and smooth, mildly hilly. The dig site itself is inside an air conditioned building and is comfortable. There are no restrooms except at the welcome center. They do have a national park passport stamp station and a reasonably priced gift shop. Parking is free and the tour is only $6 for adults. Absolutely worth the stop! No need to buy tickets in advance.
Belynda W — Google review
This was such a neat experience. Until I visited, I never knew some of the animals I discovered lived in Texas. Staff were extremely knowledgeable. The tour, itself, took about 30 minutes. There are other small trails in the area but we didn't get to experience them because it had just rained, so in total, we spent about an hour there. Tours run about every 30 minutes to this active (covered and with ac) dig and preservation site. The best part is that because it's an active site, when you go, it might look a little different than when I went. You learn a little bit about what paleontologists believe happened to the creatures buried for thousands of years and how those thoughts have changed over the years. Places like this are why having national parks and monuments are so important and should be supported, not dismantled.
Tammy M — Google review
Super cool spot in Waco! The mammoth fossils are still in the ground, which makes it way more interesting than just looking at bones in a museum. The place isn’t huge, but the tour guides keep it fun and you actually learn a lot. Trails are easy, kid-friendly, and the whole site feels peaceful. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in Waco.
Jenny N — Google review
This place is very cool and one of a kind experience. You don't ever get to see an active dig site, so this was a very unique experience. The walk down is pleasent, the tour guides are very engaging, and the cost is very low to get in.
Shannon W — Google review
$6 for the tour. Really nice park. The female park ranger who gave the tour was amazing and I loved her little jokes. I'd love to come back in a couple years and see what more they have discovered. I loved that this was an active dig site and they have a full-time paleontologist.

It was a neat place to go. They have a guide talk to you about what they have found and they let you ask questions through out it. I just wait it was a little bit bigger. My kids loved it.

Nature & Parks
Park
Texas's first state park, with woodland trails, a limestone river basin & prairie, plus campsites.
Small but very clean and beautiful State Park. We had a full hookups pull through perfectly level on a concrete slab! Dang near perfect for a state park. Nina Bonifer was outstanding. The best state park employee I have ever interacted with! We hiked most of the trails and enjoyed our stay. My only negative would be that bikes are not allowed on the trails. . No big deal but my mountain bike sat chained to a tree for three days. I would definitely visit her again!
Island M — Google review
On the smaller side, this Texas State Park offers lots of history. It's arguably the oldest Texas State Park, and there is a lot of CCC history still preserved today as well. The park offers some short hikes that offer some mild rocky hiking, and not just flat dirt trails. The tower's view is nice, at least for the roughly Waco area. It made for a pleasant day trip.
Kaitlin B — Google review
Beautiful state park! We only had about an hour and a half to explore (part of the park was closed), but we managed to see quite a bit and really enjoyed it. It was a fun little stop before heading to our main destination. Main restrooms next to the entrance was very clean. Lots of sight seeing, terrain, and bugs and birds to see. Bonus points — we were out catching Pokémon and the park had tons of PokéStops, which made the visit even better. 🤣
Ashley V — Google review
Great park for RV camping with close proximity to Waco for tourist attractions. Full hook ups, very clean facilities and well maintained trail system. This is an awesome park. If you like stargazing there is very little light pollution. The only con is that the road noise is actually pretty intense at times but definitely shouldn’t deter you from staying.
Roamer222 — Google review
Beautiful little park. Very well kept and quiet. Staff were super nice. Only 2 small ponds, but the road to the river was closed due to flooding so maybe there’s riverfront there, not sure. Lots of trees and shade! I think it was too hot for most wildlife, but saw lots of dragonflies though!

This is a beautiful state park. It's small, but don't let that discourage you from visiting. It has a rich history that's explained in the welcome center. You will not want to miss the informative exhibits that explain its backstory, including how it got its name. The staff were extremely friendly and made me feel welcomed instead of just a number. The cave was AMAZING, by far my favorite part. Make sure you don't touch the brown patches on the ceiling; it is daddy long leg SPIDERS huddled together.
SeaGreen S — Google review
I cannot say it’s the best state park in Texas but I really enjoyed and liked it. It’s a small park though. My favorite part was the rock tower and the cave reminded me of home. Definitely worth the visit.

This is a fun little state park! It's one of the easier sets of trails that I've hiked, however it's still a beautiful walk. The history behind this park is really sweet too. Governor Neff pushed for his mother and fathers donated land to become the first Texas State Park, and here it is!

The Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum is a delightful destination for families and individuals alike, offering an engaging glimpse into the world of railroads. While it may be compact, this museum is thoughtfully organized with a variety of fascinating artifacts and exhibits that cater to both young children and adults. Visitors can explore interactive displays, climb aboard train cars including an engine and caboose, and enjoy outdoor views of an active rail yard. The museum also hosts monthly family days filled with fun activities like crafts and astronomy for kids.
Very nice museum with plenty of railroad artifacts inside. You can go on, in, and through some actual trains, caboose, and passenger cars. My family enjoyed it. It's next to a busy train yard to watch them slowly go by.

Fun family oriented museum. Scavenger hunt. Lots of cool things to view and you can even explore the trains cars out on the tracks. The interactive section of the museum was a little messed up from overzealous kids not being watched by their parents. The typewriter was actively being destroyed while we were there by a young child. Had to pick up typewriter keys off the ground and reattach them when they stepped away. Close to downtown Temple as well. Good place to walk when you are finished.

Such a great spot! My 3-year-old was obsessed. A lot of interactive areas to poke around in and try new things. It’s super engaging, calm enough for toddlers, and we could’ve stayed for hours.

Love this place. It's so cool. They have seasonal events, too! Pretty neat. There's a room up top where you have a giant window and you can even see the trains departing. There's also rooms in the museum where you can type on a type writer and see other interesting old tech up close. I really love demonstrational museums.

Very nice museum. Be sure to go outside to go in the REAL train cars and especially the HUGE Old Steam Engine. Pull to ring the Bell also ! Plus it's close to the Temple rail yard so you get to see the real things, like working train engines moving cars around the yard, and maybe an Amtrak too.

Stopped here on our way back to San Antonio and glad we did! Staff was super friendly and helpful. They had 57 different beers on tap and the folks there provided suggestions and answered any questions we had. Great variety and the food nextdoor was all super tasty so we will definitely make a plan to come back.

My friends and I did a wine tasting and really enjoyed it. Liz was so knowledgeable and gave us just what each of us liked. Wednesday is 25% off bottles too! Best experience we had in Texas Hill Country. Liz actually took the time to explain the wines to us.

We went in on trivia night, it was very crowded. We ordered our food Nextdoor and by the time it was done we had found seating. it took a while to get drinks ordered and to find someone to tell us how to join the trivia. The place is very cluttered with items they sell and lots of boxes! Once we figured it all out it was fun, just wish that could have been clearer to us new people. Anyways I’m sure we’ll return since we know how it all works.

First time here. Walked in and with 4 people standing behind the bar we were not greeted or acknowledged. As one of the bar tenders walked by us we asked if we just sit anywhere and he muttered “yep”. So we sat and waited. After about 10 minutes we were about to get up and leave when one of the girls saw us and came over to tell us we have to go next store to order food but they can bring it here. At least she made an effort which is why I gave 2 stars instead of just 1. I guess I missed the sign coming in. We got up and went next door then decided it wasn’t worth the effort and we went to the Shed instead.

Husband and I stopped in for a drink and this place was great, so great we came back again later in the evening for trivia. We enjoyed sitting at the bar having great conversations with the bartenders. This is definitely the place to come to whether visiting or staying in town. Thank you so much!!

Stumbled upon this place when passing through town. There are a lot more beer and wine options than what I was expecting from the outside. Just goes to show you can't always judge a book by it's cover. Chatted with the staff a bit. They were all friendly and knowledgeable. I can definitely imagine spending a lot of time here if I was a local. Thank you for making me feel welcomed as I was passing through

Cinergy Copperas Cove

Movie theater
Fun & Games
Dine-in multiplex with recliner seating, a gaming arcade & a bar serving American fare.
We had a great experience at Cinergy, it was our first time visiting this place. We found several fun games for adults and children, we went to see a movie too. We will definitely come back here, I thought their rooms were super VIP.

Went for movie. They have great service. Can order you food and will be brought to your seats. Also have a arcade and axe throwing which I enjoyed there.
Mr B — Google review
We always enjoy coming here for movies. The reclining seats are very comfortable, and we appreciate that only previews are shown before the film rather than ads. My son especially loves the macaroni and fries kids’ meal, which has become his go-to choice. The self-serve drinks are convenient, and having food delivered directly to your seat adds to the overall experience. The theater also offers a variety of entertainment options beyond movies, including a mini arcade, axe throwing, VR gaming, and adult beverages. These features make it a fun destination for families as well as groups of friends. Overall, the service is consistently great, and this theater provides a welcoming and enjoyable experience every time we visit.

We attend EVERY slasher screening specifically for the trivia and the fun prizes that come with it—but tonight was a total letdown. No trivia at all, and the movie still hasn’t started even though it was scheduled for 10:30pm (it’s now 10:34pm). This is really disappointing, especially for loyal guests who come out late just for these events. Do better, Cinergy.
Joseph G — Google review
We went to watch Toy Story today for the sensory-friendly show and it was free! My family and I are very happy and pleased with everything. I’m so thankful that Cinergy takes the time to offer this for children with sensory sensitivities. It means so much to feel included and respected in the community and to have a safe space where kids can relax and enjoy the movie theater experience just like any other child

Nice theater setting with 8+ individual theater rooms. All seats were state of the art, leather recliners with footrests and food/beverage tray that’s attached to the seat. Very comfortable!! Facility was clean and well maintained. Drawback was the price at the concession stand - ouch!

The staff is friendly and greet you upon entering. I have had their pizza, BBQ nachos, Southwest egg rolls, hamburgers, and fries. The food doesn't disappoint! The reclining chairs are always a win win too! I highly recommend Cingery.

The theater is nice and has decent food options. But the arcade is always greasy and if you’re watching a movie in theater 1 you can hear the arcade sounds through your entire movie which really takes away from the experience.

Inner Space Cavern in Texas offers guided tours through a well-preserved cave with thousands of stalactites and stalagmites. For the adventurous, there's the Challenge Course featuring wall climbing, ropes, and rappelling. This extensive cave system, around 25 million years old and uncovered in 1966, showcases interesting rock formations, narrow passages, and cathedral-type rooms. The hour-long tour includes ample parking and restroom facilities at the entrance.
Title: A Truly Unique and Thrilling Experience! I recently visited Inner Space Cavern and had an absolutely amazing time! From start to finish, the tour was well organized and the guides were incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating details about the history, geology, and formation of the cave. One of the most memorable moments was when the guide turned off all the lights deep inside the cave. It’s hard to describe the feeling of being in complete darkness—absolutely pitch black, with zero light and only the sounds of the cave around you. It was both peaceful and awe-inspiring, giving a sense of how early explorers must have felt venturing into these hidden spaces for the first time. The cave itself is stunning—beautiful stalactites, stalagmites, and unique formations everywhere you look. The temperature inside is comfortably cool, so it’s a great escape from the Texas heat. Highly recommend this experience for families, adventure seekers, or anyone curious about nature’s underground wonders. If you haven’t been, put this on your list!

My family and I visited the Inner Space Cavern today and had such a great time! Everyone we interacted with was very friendly and helpful. A special thank you to our guide Tristan, who made the experience so memorable. The whole tour was filled with smiles, stories, jokes, and interesting facts. He guided us so well that we didn’t want to miss a single word. The cave itself is stunning, and an hour felt like just the right amount of time to enjoy its beauty. We left very happy with our visit and would definitely recommend it.

Beautiful, we had such a good time. We took two tours today and the second one was so good. It was just our group 9people. Our tour guide Dennis created such a wholesome and lovely experience for us all we where laughing and enjoying every aspect of the tour. He kept us on pase but never pressured us or made anything feel rushed. We had plenty of opportunities to take any photo we really wanted and it was so peaceful and knowledgeable.

Been wanting to go since we moved close by and 11 months later we finally got the chance and it is just amazing! I’ve been to other caves but this is just so up close and undeniably beautiful! It’s a short but very informative and it really matters who gives the tour aswell! We got so lucky just so randomly walking in waiting 10 min for the next available tour. I think our tour guide was Dennis he was absolutely amazing and very informative really made the tour interesting! We didn’t see any bats but they’re so much beauty inside! 30$ for adults and 20$ for kids toddlers free! I enjoyed being so up close to the cave so gorgeous! So much history!

Honestly this is one of the more memorable things we did on our trip to Austin (technically Georgetown). Definitely worth the ticket and the trip if you’re nearby. There are 3 packages that you can choose from. Since we were new, we chose the basic package (if you want a little more physical activity and adventure you can choose the others but I think most other people in this review section did the basic package. Don’t worry—the basic package is entertaining and worth your money.) Our guide was very knowledgeable and talked about the cave’s history, geology, and everything in between. It is damp and wet inside the cave so they do recommend closed toe tennis shoes so you don’t accidentally slip but there are strategically placed carpets and handrails in various inclines and declines. There is a photo opportunity at the very beginning of the tour that’s available for purchase and pick up later on at the gift shop for I believe $16. You do walk about 1 mile round trip and the biggest hurdle is coming back from the tour and tackling that huge incline that was previously your decline. The tour is very organized and the sights are beautiful. There is a gift shop, small concession stand like food booth, and a mini zip line outside that’s $10 regular price. It’s scarier going backwards in the ride and it’s not your typical zip line where you go individually, it’s more like an amusement theme park ride where you go 30 mph backwards and forwards on this 2 seater.
Jade M — Google review
Very informative tour with a great touch of story telling along the way thru the cave. Our tour guide did a great job at taking care of his group and explaining things. Would highly recommend this tour for all especially families. There are many beautiful sites to see and if you like caves you will love this one.

I grew up in Austin, so I had been to Inner Space a few times, but it had probably been about 20 years. My girlfriend and I went recently and had a great time. Jim, our guide, was funny and informative. It’s a really cool cave for both adults and kids. It stays around 72 degrees with pretty high humidity, so dress light, but it’s still comfortable overall. Definitely a hidden gem right off IH-35 in Georgetown.
Landon W — Google review
We recently took the Basic Adventure Tour at Inner Space Cavern in Georgetown, and it was a memorable experience for the whole family. The tour lasted about 90 minutes and went deep into the cavern with a knowledgeable and friendly guide. The tour is kid- and toddler-friendly, although keep in mind that strollers and wheelchairs aren’t allowed, and you may need to carry little ones through some parts. There are a few places where you have to duck down, but there aren’t many tight squeezes — just a couple of moments where you wait in small areas while the group regathers, which might be uncomfortable for anyone with claustrophobia. Physically, it’s not overly intense, but if you're out of shape, it might surprise you with the walking involved. One huge plus — kids 3 and under are free! And the staff were super kind and patient, which made a big difference. Overall, it’s a great family activity if you’re looking for something educational and adventurous. Just be prepared to walk and carry the little ones!

Lake Pflugerville, located just 30 minutes outside of Austin, is a man-made reservoir that offers a variety of outdoor activities for visitors. Originally built as a water-supply source, the lake now serves as a popular destination for locals and tourists. The area features hiking trails, swimming areas with small pebble beaches, fishing spots, and boat launches. Additionally, visitors can enjoy kayaking and windsurfing on the lake.
What a fantastic, well thought out lake! Walking path all around the lake, approximately 2 miles around. Besides docks and sitting benches and platforms to view and fish at, located on the other side is a small beach with two covered picnic benches and small grass area. You can rent kayaks (see pictures) and even get windsurfing lessons. A medium size larger covered area and playgrounds for the littles. This is definitely one to come back to again and again.

I absolutely love shopping at the Simon Malls. And the Round Rock Premium Outlets is one of my favorite places to go around Austin to shop. Love that it is outdoors so you don't have to feel like you have to wear your mask constantly and I also love that they have already put the Christmas trees up which makes it so nice for winter shopping. I just love having all the stores in one location and there's plenty of parking. I really like shopping at Nike, Pacsun, and American Eagle.

Loads of shops. Very open. Loads of carparks. Easy to move around. For anyone that has come over from Australia this is a DFO and you'll find good deals here. If you have hired a car its a easy drive to get here with GPS from say Austin CBD. Its a must visit if from Australia or New Zealand.

Went to the outlets it was not really busy at the time I went around 2 to 3 pm. The stores were good stock seems to be good also. I saw a few stores with some decent sales. Friendly customer service in all the places I visited.

Very bad experience. The outlet security approached me to tell me that I am causing riots. After having bought a toy for my 2 and 1 year old children in a Seven Depot store. The security person intended that my children would not play with their toys while I was in the area.

Aquarium
Zoos & Aquariums
The Austin Aquarium offers a family-friendly environment with interactive experiences, featuring hundreds of marine life species and activities like feeding and touching various animals. It also provides virtual reality experiences, child-friendly play areas, and special events such as mermaid appearances. The aquarium hosts birthday packages, group events, educational programs, and concessions. Visitors can hand-feed sharks, rays, birds, fish, octopus encounters for an additional fee. Additionally, the aquarium houses tropical fish exhibits along with reptiles and amphibians.
Definitely was not what I was expecting for an aquarium. They have much more than just aquatic animals. Looking at prices online for the experiences didn't do any good. The tokens you have to spend are a little on the pricey side, but for what I got to do, it was totally worth it. I had 2 teenagers, myself, and another family member and bought $25 worth of tokens and spent $160. Now, what did I get to do? Was able to touch/feed/play with: capybara, baby crocodile, wallaby, stingray, porcupine, sloth, Toucan, tortoise, cockatiels, parakeets, pheasants, baby sharks, and a Toucan. There were a couple of things I just didn't do, but even my teens had a blast and would definitely go back. Hailey was absolutely amazing! She walked with me to quite a few encounters telling me all these cool facts about each animal and asked if I had any questions about any of them. She is super knowledgeable and I highly recommend asking her to tell you about all the things you can do there.
Kristen D — Google review
The animals appeared sad and stressed. We prioritized seeing the animals before buying tokens to pet or to feed them.I am glad we didn't purchase the tokens. Each exhibit had specific rules, generally limiting petting to two fingers, with the exception of the sloth, which required the back of the hand. We observed animal handlers strictly enforcing the two-finger petting rule. In one of the lemur exhibits, a simulated alpha animal noise was played, startling a lemur and causing it to vocalize. Most lemurs are nocturnal, yet many were exposed to bright spotlights. Loud, Disney-style music played while a woman dressed as a mermaid was at a photo booth, and another woman dressed as a fairy walked around. Loud announcements were made frequently about what animals were ready to be touched. Additional attractions included a booth for custom drawings, a hurricane experience simulation, and a large eating area with a concession stand at the back. Baby alligators were fed, then had their mouths taped shut so people could pet them. In the wallaby exhibit, it was evident the animals desired to be left undisturbed. The bat rays frequently surfaced for food, appearing innocent and friendly but it was clearly indicating hunger. A single eel was confined to a small cylindrical enclosure. A moderately sized gift shop was located near the entrance. The entire experience felt highly commercialized and geared towards encouraging children to spend money. While I enjoyed seeing the animals, it saddened me to consider that they endure loud music, screaming children, bright lights, and constant touching for eight hours daily. I imagine they are happiest when everyone leaves for the night. My favorite part of the experience was observing a tiny armadillo running around in the sloth exhibit, which was pretty cute. The cost for two adults was $62.42 and we stayed for an hour before leaving.

Mixed feelings about this place, at first sight you wouldnt think theres al aquarium inside a mall, and had low expectations about it. When you pay the entrance fee, they offer you a lot of activities bit theyre privey and requires some tokens, I recommend you to take a look around first and then come back if you really want to do it. They have a lot of incredible animals, not only animals belong to an aquarium. So you get to see some really cool animals. The trouble comes when you get to see the conditions they live, they have a very small space to live, some are in very crowded spaces, and others look very stressed. Hope they can get a bigger space to move.
J A — Google review
My young kids and I have come here quite a few times over the years. This review is late as the pics are from November of 2024 (almost a year ago) so I'm not sure which animals are still there even though we have been since then. It is pretty pricey to pay entrance fees and token fees, and it does seem a bit commercialized. I'm not an animal expert so I can't attest to the condition of the animals other than most of them seem fine to me for the most part although I know living in an aquarium is not ideal for most animals. I have heard some bad things about the owners though but I'm not sure what is true. The people working there seem nice enough and the place is relatively clean. My kids love coming here for the animals and interactive exhibits, and sometimes they have a mermaid doing face painting and a balloon artist, and caricature artist. There is a gift shop at the end as well.

Don’t forget to ask for a military discount if you’re eligible! There are lots of different animals to see—check out my photos. It’s a fun spot for kids to learn and play at the same time. That said, I wasn’t too happy with how some of the animals are kept. A few tanks seemed really small and overcrowded, probably so visitors can easily feed or touch them. I even saw a small fish that looked like it had been dead and its body got torn up in pieces other fish. There was also a noticeable smell when I walked in. On the bright side, the staff were super friendly, professional, and really knowledgeable about the animals.
Yuhsin L — Google review
I enjoyed seeing the animals but the sound emitted that sounds like a gorilla sound that got the leamur upset was pretty disturbing. They were traumatized. That is not right. It happened often and think it's animal abuse. Pretty sure that shouldn't be happening. Too much lighting for them as well. They are nocturnal.
Amanda C — Google review
Wow wow wow! What an unexpected, incredible experience! We are visiting Texas while our daughter visits a local college and decided to visit the aquarium. We were expecting it to be a 1-hour visit but were very surprised when we noticed 4 hours had gone by. The place has so much more than fish and should probably consider a rebranding as the current title is very limiting compared to what is really going on. If you are in the area, you need to visit this place! Ty and Jay were both knowledgeable and willing to share more than what was scripted. They made the experience extra special!
Doug S — Google review
My husband and I visited the Austin Aquarium on Wednesday, August 27th for a fun afternoon outing. We stayed about 90 minutes, during which time we were able to see all the exhibits and interact with some of the animals. The only things we waited for were animal interactions, as a staff member needed to be present to facilitate, and we waited no more than 2-3 minutes for the staff to arrive. It wasn’t particularly busy when we were there, and as it was the end of the summer, there were no school groups present. In reviewing animal welfare guidelines from the US Dept of Agriculture, the handling regulations were abided by. The two of us spent about 10 minutes with a female red ruffed lemur and her two babies. We were required to stand behind a bench, limiting our movement within the enclosure, and the lemurs could leave the encounter to return to their climbing space at any time. We were given some fruit to share with them, and could pet their backs with two fingers. We appreciated hearing information about their natural habitat, their typical day-to-day activities, and the harms of the exotic pet trade to this critically endangered species. They touched and licked our hands to get fruit, and one of the babies jumped onto my shoulder in order to get up to his swinging ropes. They even demonstrated their excellent pickpocketing skills by snatching the keeper’s radio from his belt clip! We also enjoyed seeing many species of fish, reptiles, amphibians, birds, and small mammals. There was a good variety of animals to see and hear, and the habitats looked to be well-maintained and thoughtfully set up to accommodate the animals’ need for privacy, enrichment, and exercise. We purchased 10 tokens for animal interactions ($27.00) and got two bonus tokens, which allowed us to interact with the lemurs (4 tokens/person) and a prehensile-tailed porcupine (2 tokens/person, I went in alone), as well as feed the stingrays. Yes, it was pretty pricey for a 90-minute experience, but it seemed that the token system worked well to limit the amount of handling the animals experienced throughout the day. There was also a gift shop with a variety of mementos for purchase. My husband rated this as his favourite thing we did during our week in Austin, and was an experience we won’t soon forget! My only real criticism is that they need to find a name that does better to describe the wide variety of animals on exhibit, as ‘Aquarium’ doesn’t quite do it justice.

Nestled on the picturesque shores of Lake Travis, Lake Travis Zipline Adventures offers an exhilarating outdoor experience for families and thrill-seekers alike. Just a short drive from downtown Austin, this locally owned company provides a safe and exciting adventure with its daytime and nighttime 3-hour zip line tours. Guests can soar through the air on five different ziplines that increase in speed and height as they traverse the scenic 88-acre Hill Country property.
We had an amazing experience at Lake Travis Zipline Adventure. I definitely recommend. (The views are beautiful) Our tour guides Maddie and Megan were awesome in explaining the procedures thoroughly. They were very helpful.. we're grateful to have them as our guide. All in all 10 out 10!! You will not be disappointed!

I had an incredible experience ziplining yesterday! The entire adventure was made even more special thanks to our fantastic guides, Meghan and Ben. They were incredibly knowledgeable and ensured that we felt safe and excited throughout the entire journey. The highlight was definitely the stunning sunset views, which they captured beautifully in photos that we will cherish forever. Their enthusiasm and professionalism truly enhanced our experience. I can’t wait to return and do it all over again! Highly recommend this adventure to anyone looking for a thrilling and memorable day!

This day at the lake was epic! I brought my friend David and we arrived at the check-in about 25 minutes early and got ready (got weighed in cause there's a 250lb limit), loaded on water, and then joined the other 2 guests that were in our group for the afternoon (2pm appt time). Apparently usually the groups are much bigger on the weekend, so I definitely suggest going on a weekday if you can. The wait to ride is shorter and you'll get more personal attention in a smaller group! After taking the boat across the river, we got geared up. If you're a little heavier (i'm 202lb) i recommend you tighten the leg loops cause they really do support you and take the pressure off your stomach area. My first short zip was a little uncomfortable, but the moment i tightened those straps I had so much fun on the next 4 zip lines. Before i go back to talking about the actual zip lines, I want to say the guides including Hans are fantastic chatty and playful and make the day fun! They offer lots of photo ops with your own camera for free or theirs (for sale). So the hike isn't bad overall, towards the end it does get a little steep so if you have leg or knee issues, that may be a challenge. But it's worth it!!!! The last 3 and 4th ziplines are really exhilarating, but you then end on the fifth line which is called Double Barrel because is two lines next to each other and runs the fastest and highest of any in Texas! You get to race your friend down and my friend was brave and used his phone to film us riding it!!! Thank you so much Lake Travis Zip Line Adventures for letting me check off another bucket list adventure (since i've already sky dived and bungee jumped).

This was such a fantastic experience! First off the LTZA campus is great; they have lovely grounds with lots of chill spots to hang out, fun merch, and air conditioned portable toilets! Our tour guides, Miriam and Nathan, were both amazing- super friendly, lots of cheesy jokes, and very encouraging and upbeat the whole trip making sure no one was uncomfortable or too nervous. This would be a 5 star adventure just for the guides, but of course we are here to zipline! And the ziplining was amazing! First you take a quick boat ride across the water, then they start you off slow with two short ziplines to get the hang of it, but the fun really starts with line 3! You go over the water and get a fantastic view of the lake; tons of fun. My favorite line was the last one the 'double barrel shotgun' which was the longest, but also you got to go with someone else so it was fun to 'race' my husband down (I thought I was for sure going to win but he tucked up into a little ball and beat me by a mile!). Do note that they are serious about the hiking- while the actual time spent hiking is not that much (I'd guess maybe 30 min total) and its broken up into small bits, there is a lot of elevation climb and 80% of it is just going up stairs! So its a lot and on a hot day it would be rough (though most of the trail is shaded). You are also hiking in your zipline gear so I'd recommend longer shorts or leggings seemed like the pick. I was wearing jean shorts and it was manageable but I think leggings would have been more comfortable. They do provide tons of free water and they are serious about heat safety, reminding you to take helmets off after each ride. I also love that they have a little refreshment stand at the end so you can grab a cold beer/soda to reward yourself for all that work! This was an amazing experience and I would 100% recommend anyone check out LTZA!

2025 Update: This is my second year trying out the Lake Travis Zipline. Once I've tried something adventurous first, then I know if it's safe for my kids. The team is communicative and helpful. They take care of everything. Just make sure it's time for you to go because there is a lot of waiting and picture taking to where there was some miscommunication on when to leave the platform. As far as bringing kids. First, I checked the weight limit. Timing was important with the heat. We were very happy with the latest time and got to see the sunset starting. They provide water many times once you cross over on the boat and there's a spot in your gear to bring it with you. Then I thought about heights and speeds. My son is 10 and he loves rollercoasters. He was nervous about Zipline though. That's why the smaller runs are nice to build up confidence to the last one. The longest and fastest in TX. My son was very proud of accomplishing all of them. He did a great job and said he loved it! He got a hat for bragging rights. Thank you Lake Travis Zipline and Yelp for such a cool experience. Now we have some bonding memories and feel stronger as a result! 2024 Thanks to Hans, Miriam, and the rest of the team we had a great time on the Yelp Elite experience! Definitely a great adventure for a date, family, or corporate event. You take a boat across the lake and hike a little bit to your final destination. The zipline down is fun with a nice view. There’s ice water along the trail and beverages/snacks at the end. Alcoholic too if you wish.

Meghan and Raylon are the best instructors/guides. Had such an amazing and fun time with them and our group!!! Absolutely needed the day of exhilaration and adrenaline!! I wanted to run the course over and over!! The views are beautiful and surprise!!! At the end of the tour they have a bar to get refreshments and a beer or cider if you’d like as well. Taking photos along the journey was fun. Taking silly photos as well made us all laugh and have an even better time. Thank you for beating the beat I needed to take away from all of the chaos!!! Definitely will be returning!!!

Conquered my fears and this Ziplining experience is the best I’ve had in Ziplining!!! First off, it’s a beautiful drive from the busy life to the scenic Lake Travis area! Lots of parking and signs to get to their office, easy registration! They already have your name and you don’t need to repeat everything! Their waiting area has a lot of chairs under the tree to kind of ease you in the e outdoor adventure you’re about to partake! They have comfy restroom before the hike. The ferry was a nice touch to get to the Zipline platforms. They have water you need all throughout the stops. And the tour guides!!! Shout out to Julie, Nathan and the Ferry guy I forgot his name—-they will make this tour a once in a lifetime event! If it’s your first time, they walk you through everything including the expectations and the rules. The do’s and dont’s are very clear! Went on the 9:30 group to give us time to get there early, not wake too much early, and beat the hot weather of Texas. Wear comfy clothes, don’t bring too much on you—-they do have free lockers which help. Julie and Nathan were able to also take pictures and video you don’t need to worry about capturing your memories! They made us all I. The group feel safe and enjoy the fun! Four zip lines. The first two is easing you into the last two which was my favorite. The hike made me feel like I’ve earned the Zipline fun! Julie and Nathan were very organized! I’m amazed with how well they can make work looks like play! Their equipment are high grade! They will stop the zip for you so no need to worry about wearing gloves to stop or slow down your own speed! Now that is totally worth every single $ you spend here! We are able to give tips with CC they just charge you a penny I think in case you don’t have cash in hand. We got their digital package of all the pics they took for just $45 . Not a bad deal! They have three different photo packages to choose from. The last landing is a great spot they sell drinks and have comfy couches to sit on with a huge fan to cool off—-and overlooking the lake which at this time is 80% full—- thank God for the rain! But as a Yelp event!!! Thank you for the organizers! It was so easy to book and a great week to get your planner ready to not miss this fun filled—-support your local biz! Everybody in the group was so fun and game to celebrate my plus one’s birthday! The bar got higher yet again and so so blessed to be a part of this experience!!!

We really enjoyed this experience! Some unexpected and pleasant surprises were arriving early and having time to go sit by the water while the sun was still low and the boat ride over to the zip line area. Be sure to plan for time before and after your time slot so you can enjoy these perks of being out in a beautiful area! There's even a small bar at the end of the zipline trail so you could grab a snack and a beverage and hang out. The actual ziplining was amazing - Not as scary as I thought - It's more of a fun, but also almost relaxing glide, across beautiful scenery! It reminded me of parasailing where you're going fast but the breeze and the smooth ride make it super enjoyable! There were 5 lines, but two were shorter to get used to the process/landing etc. Our guides were super easy going and informative; they had our safety top of mind, as well. They also took tons of pics of us individually and as a group. The site has thought of everything - Free lockers on site, restrooms, ample parking, etc. Other tips: Consider wearing a fanny pack to keep your keys and phone on you and bringing cash to tip your guides (We had two guides for a 3+ hour adventure). The guides will take pics, but you can ask them to take a picture on your phone as well. Note that part of the hike is at least intermediate - but your guides will allow you to take your time to get to the top. They were constantly providing water and reminding us to take water breaks and helping us have a halfway stop point on the few steeper climbs.

Captain Tim was awesome had a long charter 130 to sunset about 8ish and sailed a while stoped in a cove to swim and brought our own food and had a nice meal sailing and got an amazing sunset. He is super informative and you have a question he'll answer it was awesome. He really enjoys what he's doing and it shows it's super relaxing and fun, just a great experience to have.

If you’re looking for the perfect birthday/celebration/bonding experience.. look at SailAustin. Capt’n Tim at SailAustin provides by far the best charter I have ever been on. I am surprised to find they don’t have a Google review so I’m sharing my experience here. From the moment I contacted Capt’n Tim expressing interest in booking a private charter for my friend’s birthday, he was kind, responsive and helpful. Tim took the time to answer all my questions and then some, looking up the moon phases to provide evidence that our night sail would be as beautiful as promised. The boat itself is magnificent and impressive (I think it’s the largest sail boat on the lake). He had everything we needed; Bluetooth stereo, complimentary water, pool noodles, even a professional camera. My friend was in tears with how amazing the whole experience was... which is how I know I outdid myself finding this charter (by chance!). The experience is affordable for a captained charter on Lake Travis and an incredible value for the experience you get. Much of this comes from Tim doing what he loves (sailing!) and wanting to share that experience with others. I even learned to sail a bit! I don’t normally write reviews but I am so incredibly thankful to have found Capt’n Tim and to have been part of such an amazing sailing experience.

Krause Springs

Campground
Nature & Parks
Forested park & campground with 32 natural springs, swimming holes, waterfalls, pool, trails & more.
I had an amazing time at Krause Springs. This place is truly a hidden gem just outside of Austin. The natural spring-fed pools are crystal clear and super refreshing, and the whole property feels like a little oasis with huge cypress trees and a beautiful waterfall. I especially loved the rope swing and the little caves near the lower pool. It is such a fun spot to explore. Entry was only $10 per person for the day, which feels like a steal for how beautiful and well-kept the area is. If you want to camp or stay after 8 pm, it is $15, which is worth it because the place gets even more peaceful once the day visitors leave. I recommend coming early on weekends because it can get busy, but the line moves pretty quickly. Bring water shoes for the rocks and a float if you just want to relax in the water. Between the cool water, the gorgeous scenery, and the relaxing vibe, Krause Springs is now one of my favorite spots near Austin. I cannot wait to come back and maybe even camp overnight next time.

This is an amazing place and only $10.00 an adult! It is open 11 hours from 9-8. There is a gorgeously detailed garden area that we spent 2 1/2 hours in! It is a spectacular garden with beautiful fountains, hammocks, wind chimes of ALL sizes, thousands of butterflies & bees & an infinite amount of plant & flower species! Just amazing! Then you go into the springs and the natural fresh water pool is huge, cool & inviting! It goes from 3-8 feet deep and everyone using it seemed to really be enjoying it! The pool empties into a made natural waterway that drops about 100’ into the river below forming a natural waterfall that was so nice to go under! The river bottom is stone and flat in some places and edgy in others! I HIGHLY recommend water shoes for in here! When done in the river, just go to the edges and dry off on the rocks in the sun! We then went back to the car and got our lunch! After lunch we got to talking to a senior member of the staff and he told us of a spot in the lower end of the park for fishing and e went there for a few hours! All in all we were there till 4:45 pm and we got there at 9:15am! 7 1/2 beautiful hours for a mere $20 bucks! This place is a gem and we will be back!!

Was a 4-5 hour drive for my family to get here from the Dallas area, but it was absolutely worth it! We had an amazing end of summer day trip. The water was refreshing, the rope swing was thrilling, and all in all this location was stunning, between the waterfall, to the picnic areas and the butterfly garden. I've never seen so many beautiful butterflies.

Visited Krause Springs today, and it was such a refreshing and peaceful experience. The drive to the location was scenic and relaxing, setting the tone for a perfect day outdoors. The entry fee was $10 for adults, which is totally worth it considering how much there is to explore. I spent time walking through the beautiful garden area, checked out the man-made pool, and climbed over the slippery rocks near the springs — everything was absolutely stunning. The place feels natural, soothing, and scenic, making it a great escape from the city. I noticed quite a few people camping as well since there’s a dedicated camping ground, which looked like an amazing option for anyone planning an overnight stay. The overall vibe of the place was calm and positive — perfect for solo trips, family outings, or group adventures. If you’re looking for a beautiful natural spot to unwind, swim, or just connect with nature, Krause Springs is definitely worth visiting. Perfect for: Day trips, scenic drives, and camping getaways 🌿💦

Came across this place while searching for a pool when staying in Marble Falls. Location was pretty easy to find, a nice little drive thru hill country. There were plenty of parking so you don’t have to worry about that. The place itself is amazing, the little garden is a nice getaway to explore. The upper pool area was cleaned and well maintained, it was cold ( what you expect, it’s spring water ) but once you’re in it you’ll be fine. After the upper pool area there’s another pool at the bottom level which was really nice to check out and lounge, also around the area are some hidden water falls that’s a cool hike away. Overall I enjoyed it and so did my wife and son. Would definitely recommend it

Highly recommend a visit to Krause Springs if you ever want to take a dip! It’s best to go earlier in the day to enjoy the clearer water. We went afternoon on a weekend and it was packed with the water a muddy brown. Nonetheless it was a great time!! There’s restrooms and plenty of space to set up your group. There’s also a rope swing!

Krause Springs is simply a hidden gem! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the serene beauty of the surroundings. The lush greenery, along with the tranquil atmosphere, makes it an ideal getaway. The centerpiece, a stunning waterfall, is a must-see. Its cascading waters create a soothing sound that adds to the peaceful ambiance. Swimming in the cool waters beneath the falls was the highlight of my visit! Overall, Krause Springs offers a little piece of paradise for nature lovers and anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle. Highly recommend!

We visited this vineyard for a friend’s bachelorette party, and we were thrilled to have found it! The service was exceptional—Cameron was incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable about the wines. Update 11-17-2024 Stopped by Spicewood for a “member’s wine pick-up” this week… good time! We arrived a bit late, so the cheese/fruit/nuts/crackers trays were a bit picked over, but it’s free food… LOL It was good. People had started to leave, so we were able to land primo seats on a patio. The staff are always friendly and nice! The wines are good, some of the estate vines are coming into their own. A fun and festive place, recommend stopping by… you’ll be a member before you know it! Feb 2024 Spicewood Vineyards is a very good TX winery, located in Spicewood, TX, a stone's throw from Dripping Springs, TX. We went on a Sunday, our first event at the winery, the 16th annual chili cookoff, and boy what fun it was. The winery location is beautiful, "out in the country" with beautiful views and a creek that runs right through the property. The wines are good, slight edge to the reds over the whites. The tempranillo is very good, as well as the Bordeaux-style red blend. On the white side, viognier was the star. Very friendly staff, even though the place was a zoo! Kids and pets welcome here! We liked it enough to join the wine club! The only suggestion for events of this type, have serving lines for members, that would be an extra little perk for those who have chosen to join the club! Recommend Spicewood Vineyards!

Made an unplanned stop here on the way back to Austin from Marble Falls and SO GLAD we did! Beautiful vineyard and outdoor seating. Friendly staff and excellent wine selection. The red Zinfandel was very good. We will definitely be back to try the tasting. There is building separate from the tasting room that can be rented for weddings and events.

A lot of fun. Wonderful atmosphere -- very chill with rustic glamor. Chris was amazing! Her cheese suggestions completely elevated the tasting experience. Chris was knowledgeable and friendly. Totally customized the experience for us because we shared the estate tasting and customized the regular sampling. I learned in not into rose or pat mat haha. But we loved the Tandem, good guy(s), and muscat blanc. Also super friendly dogs made it feel more like home.

I got married here on 10/22/17. It was an absolutely gorgeous venue that worked perfectly with how I envisioned our wedding. Lauren, the events manager, helped out so much with making sure I did not forget anything during the planning stages and handled day-of coordination, which eased a lot of my stress. We also served their wine and it was just as good as the few times I'd had it before (visiting the venue and meeting with Lauren). I couldn't have imagined our wedding going any better, and Spicewood Vineyards was the perfect venue to hold it at.
