Stopped by on my way to Stamps, Arkansas. This combo post office and courthouse is neat! I loved reading the history and taking photos.

We stopped in today to get a birthday card for our Grandson postmarked from Texarkana. Lashanda provided VERY friendly, efficient service. She asked if we had taken our picture in front of the building. Because of our affirmative response, she provided us with more information (verbally and in writing) regarding this famous building. Thank you for the brief history lesson. The postal service should use Lashanda as a model for how the customer is treated! Great job today, Lashanda!

It was fascinating to see how boundaries are marked, even though the land itself is all the same.

Ms. Lashanda was absolutely amazing. This was our first visit and she took the time with my 11 year old to give us some very interesting information. I highly recommend stopping by and taking your picture!

Absolutely beautiful building. Love downtown Texarkana and the history of the town. It’s so cool to see all the heritage and architecture in the city!
Pastor C — Google review
This is a cool courthouse and US Post Office as it is divided in half between Texas and Arkansas. I was just after closing time so couldn’t go inside but beautiful design on the outside. If you are in Texarkana, you should check it out.
Jake H — Google review
We took several family pictures here. Main draw for us was just the state line photo opportunity - we didn't go inside because we went when it was closed. We went on a Sunday morning. It was easy to park and easy to take several pictures. One couple stopped while we were there and we took pictures of each others family. But other than that it was relatively vacant. There was another memorial around the corner (easy walking distance) and across the street; that had Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana State Flags all together. And a neat old church across from the postoffice - St. James Church. I don't know anything about it - but it looked neat from the outside. Also a confed monument when we went over by the church.

This was a planned stop. There is no fee to enter and tour. I enjoyed learning about his family history. The park ranger, Kevin, was very knowledgeable and helpful in looking up answers to my questions that he did not readily know . I also enjoyed seeing how people lived in those days. By today's standards it's a modest home, however, for the time it was built, it was a modern home with electricity, gas heating and cooking, and a refrigerator.
Jeff — Google review
The only artifacts that were actually his are some photos and one children's book. But it is a faithful decoration of a house during his childhood.
Dan M — Google review
Very cool place and an amazing staff. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely worth taking a look. Parking is available in the back.
Wes W — Google review
Unplanned stop. Arrived just as the last tour was underway. Locked out of the home, we quietly toured the yard, snapped a few pics of the monuments and used the bathroom. Bathrooms were immaculate and easy to use. Bill Clinton wasn't actually born here but you wouldn't know that by the signs. Been there. Done that. Prolly won't go back but if I do, imma try to make it on time to tour and do a little shopping at Atwood's next door
J P — Google review
We came late on a Monday and the building just closed, but he amazing park ranger on duty came up to us and offered to show our kid how to take down and fold the flag. She shared some information on Bill and just made the experience so memorable. She even awarded us all junior ranger badges! We will visit again next time we are in town so we can take the tour!
Della E — Google review
Easy fun experience. Nice rangers and a easy stop. Tour’s are every half hour.
Matthew S — Google review
10/6/25 Clinton house site is closed because of government lapse in funding. You can still view from outside of fence. 5 stars in support of NPS
Ted J — Google review
The tour was very informative. The workers seemed like they enjoyed their job. I actually visited the Clinton Library in Little Rock the day before. There are a few differences in the information being put out. I arrived after the start of the last tour. The park ranger/tour guide gave me a tour anyway. I would recommend visiting. It's free.

Wonderful experience. The entire town is walkable. Each location has individuals dressed in the time period, explaining how life was in the 1800's. We stayed at the local jail, turned into a B and B. Excellent accommodations. The jonquil festival is the best!
Cristina D — Google review
Great place filled with friendly folks and tons of history. My wife and I stayed in the Jailhouse B&B, which was very cozy. Mind the beds, though. They have wheels and are a bit squeaky, lol. We will definitely visit again.
Miguel M — Google review
Did not expect a whole town. Fascinating experience. We will return for the guided tours. Had wonderful conversations with the gift shop attendant and the blacksmith. Thanx so much for all the info yall gave us!
Wendy H — Google review
This was a really cool experience learning about the old historic town of Washington. This town used to be the county seat until the railroad and other changes essentially made it a ghost town, and the county seat moved to Hope. Lots of neat history here.
Andrew S — Google review
We really enjoyed ranger Mike and his tour of the weapon museum and print shop museum. Loved the giant Magnolia tree. Pictures won't do it justice.
Dan S — Google review
Such a wonderful historic site spread across the city of Washington! There is something for everyone, and it can really take up as much or as little time as you have available!
Mitch C — Google review
This is an amazing little town to visit. Historical Washington Arkansas was the capital of the Confederacy. So much history. A must see if you are in the area.
Marilyn F — Google review
We visited the park, restaurant, and museum on a Sunday afternoon. The park staff were friendly and helpful. We decided on a self guided tour using the park’s handy guide packet. Some of our party ordered from off the menu and some enjoyed the lunch buffet. All of us were happy with our meals. The museum is well organized and well kept. We enjoyed our visit to Historic Washington.

Crater of Diamonds State Park is a distinctive geological attraction situated on more than 37 acres of land. It offers visitors the opportunity to search for diamonds, rocks and minerals in a thrilling treasure hunt experience. The park also boasts a well-maintained campground with access to excellent shower facilities and picturesque walking trails leading to nearby rivers. Although camping fees may be considered expensive at $42 per night, overall, Crater of Diamonds State Park is an enjoyable destination worth visiting again in the future.
This was my first trip to Arkansas and it was a great one... Love the walking trails and there's so much information in the visitors center on site. You can go look around at the Diamond Mine without paying the $15.00 entry fee... They only charge if you are planning to dig... An awesome gift shop with really decent prices all around... Got most of my souvenirs from that one spot... If you are ever in Murfreesboro Arkansas you need to make a trip thru here you won't be disappointed....
Stacy ( — Google review
We came to look for diamonds and stayed in the park's campground for one night. Spent 4 hrs playing in the dirt. Found no diamonds but had a great time. Campground was very handy. Full hookup, leveled sites and fair priced. Checkout time is 4 pm so plenty of time to wash up and depart. We would do it again if passing through. Great experience for the whole family.
Country G — Google review
Great place to take the family! Finding a diamond is a lot harder than you'd think. We had fun finding interesting rocks to take home. It was very hot and there is some shade, but I suggest you bring a large umbrella and a cooler. The staff was super nice and very informative. You can bring your own tools and sifters or you can rent or buy them there. We had a good time!

I visited the weekend of 11/7/2025 to 11/10/2025 with a Cub Scout Pack. The camping area was fantastic, the hiking trail was well maintained and the facilities were outstanding. The staff that booked our weekend worked with us as we wanted our entire group of 15 families close to one another, and they made it happen, for that I am very grateful. We took about 30 youth to the mining field Saturday morning and they were given a brief history on the park along with a Mining 101 course led by Park Interpreter Emma O’Neal, who did an absolutely fantastic job. The kids loved her presentation, she was very knowledgeable and professional. The biggest take away for me was her ability to talk to the kids in a way they would understand. The park has a fantastic interpreter in Emma. She definitely gave the kids motivation to be able to go out to the field and search for diamonds. This location will definitely be on our list to return to in the future.
Dane D — Google review
The staff were very informative and knowledgeable. They were kind and considerate. The park was clean and in good condition. Wish we had gone to the interpretive program on mining 101! Bring a bucket and getting a wagon was a great choice. We wish we had planned better by having rain jackets during the rain and more hydrating drinks but that was on us ha can’t wait to go back!!! Best anniversary place we have gone 💚🎉
Robert K — Google review
Wonderful campground with plenty of room for tent areas and RV's with electricity and water. We tent camped at a walk in site that shared water and trash bins, no electricity. It was designed so nice! And, we watched a deer leisured through the woods. Crater of Diamonds field was huge. Plenty of areas to dig and wash your finds. Videos to watch and helpful staff. Gift shop and a museum, interesting fact boards of the history of big diamonds are place throughout the areas, too.
Jackie K — Google review
We came in through LIT airport and chose our hotel roughly 50 miles away from the Diamonds State Park. We opted to be there when the park opens in the morning which was a great choice - less people, easier picking for a spot to start and comfortable to „work“ outside. I recommend to order the admission ticket ahead of time and online. Our group had a lot of fun and looking for the „one“ is much more challenging as it might seem. There are helpful posters and areas to learn more about the prospecting. The staff here is friendly and helpful, the entry fee and loaner fees for equipment to dig for fame are reasonable. Knowing how this all works now, we will be back at some point.
Tom H — Google review
Still a great experience, even if you don't find anything! Early October is still hot but not very busy. Very friendly staff. Camp grounds was AMAZING. Wi-Fi, private showers with warm water, outlets, water fountains with water bottle fill up, well maintained and cleaned.

A very enjoyable experience! Reasonably priced! Privately owned. Displays are very interesting. Digging is the fun part! Friends found arrowhead. I found shards of pottery. Tools are available on site for digging!
Jose R — Google review
After going to the Crater of Diamonds State Park and not being impressed I was looking for somewhere else to go with 3 adults 42-23 yrs old and 3 kids between 16-7 yrs old and stumbled across this place... And what an awesome find it was!! There is an arrowhead field they till and a metal detecting field (we didn't do metal detecting) as well as a little museum and gift shop.. The museum was cool they had a lot of good pieces in there and it was nice to walk around and just look at the pottery and the remake of the Indian village. The gift shop has a lot of pieces of pottery and other artifacts that were for sale at what I would consider reasonable amounts. As well as just the stuff you find in gift shops. The arrowhead dig was AWESOME, just walking out across the field we found some pieces of pottery as well as arrowheads and then we went to digging and found some arrowhead pieces as well as quartz. There were shade trees so you are not just digging with the sun baking you.. Ten out of Ten would recommend and plan on making a trip back out there
Krista B — Google review
What an incredible experience! The museum is small but highly informative. The mounds are a once in a lifetime learning experience. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the gift shop is well priced and has a large variety of items. If you’re interested in North American history, this is a must visit! A real look at the Caddo way of life 1000 years ago.
Bill H — Google review
Really cool little place. Kind of off the beaten path. Nice little museum. Easy to dig artifacts in their fields.

We have had a wonderful time . Affordable for big families as well and learn about history that would've been lost if wasn't found here .
Shelena G — Google review
This place is awesome and the people are friendly and knowledgeable. We had so much fun hunting for arrowheads.

Visited here recently with my family. We bought several buckets to sift. Everyone enjoyed this more than crater of diamonds!

Cute little museum off the beaten path. Crater of diamonds was too busy so we took a detour and we did not regret it! The staff were nice and welcoming. The kids had fun digging and we had a great time viewing the beautiful gems and rock collection they had.

DeGray Lake State Park Resort

Resort hotel

State park
Waterfront lodging with relaxed rooms, plus low-key dining, a seasonal outdoor pool & a hot tub.
Very nice Lodge. No microwave in room but does have a small refrigerator with no freezer. TV is very small but we stayed on the lake most of the time. Don't eat at the Lodge restaurant. It's terrible! But every person that works at this Lodge is excellent! Couldn't ask for friendlier and helpful staff. The waitress at the restaurant was super but the food was not ! Terrible to have such a nice facility and staff and hot food served cold and probably made at lunch. We ate around 5pm and no more than 6 people in the restaurant but food was served cold. Cold baked potato wouldn't melt the butter and veggies were cold. Garlic bread cold. Poor cook.. 😂
Judy W — Google review
De Gray State Park Lodge is very clean, has beautiful views, pool and even a fitness center. The lodge restaurant is lovey and has a small bar. The place where there is room for improvement is the food menu selections. Although adequate, it is not a drawing card. I enjoyed our visit and hope to return.
Donna S — Google review
We try to make this a stop on road trips when traveling along I-30. It's not far off freeway & great alternative to a hotel: beautiful lake and woods bring calm & relaxation after a day of driving. Rooms are large and comfortable. Dining on site so you don't have to get back in the car to go get something to eat. Friendly service & staff
Cindy B — Google review
We had a great stay here for a business trip. The staff was absolutely awesome. The food was great. They do not have a full bar so if you're looking for that you will have to drive to into the city. Maybe Hot Springs
Shirley M — Google review
Beautiful views, tons of geese, gentle deer, disc golf, golf, full service marina, cozy yurts, lots of campsites, clean lodge, restaurant with reliable food quality,... Need candy or snacks? Visitor center has it. Marina has it. Lodge has it. Younger kiddos interested in slides and a little playground time? There is a playground at the swim beach/boat launch area. There is a playground outside the lodge. We visited in late May when water levels were excessively high & there was still plenty of beach and mostly safe access points everywhere. SUP and kayak rentals used to only be available at the marina, but now there's a self-service kiosk at the swim beach. Very convenient. Water had amazing clarity, even after a few days of storms. We still miss the stables being operational, but that era really truly seems over.
Amber T — Google review
The resort is beautiful. It says water view but there is no access from the room to the water. I was on the third floor and it was beautiful, the lake visible from the bed. The beds are soft and the pillows are to die for! If you're cold at night bring a blanket. The lake is gorgeous. I didn't get to fish but i saw quite a few fishing boats out there. Not a lot of activity on the water so it was really quiet for a weekend. I'm going to rent a yurt next time.
Penn — Google review
We had a great time. The staff is very nice. The pool and hot tub were very relaxing and the view of the lake from the pool was an extra bonus. We ate at the Shoreline in the lodge the first night. The burger and fries were really good. One of the best that I’ve had in a while from anywhere. The spaghetti was really bad. Literally a can of sauce on top of noodles with a meat crumble put on top. We stayed in room 108 the first night and 219 the second night. Even though 219 was listed as resort view, we had a view of the lake, pool, and hiking trail. One of the trails is a short walk to Sunrise Point. There is a picnic table and I’ve seen people swimming there.
Sherry H — Google review
The rooms were very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was amazing with generous portions. The room was a little small and was dated, but we were comfortable.

some of the most relaxing atmosphere ever experienced. tons of interesting trails. majestic sunsets and spacious camping. a great place to connect with nature.

It was a beautiful place to spend time with family and friends. We utilized the cabin camps, and they are very doable. This is my second year, but my family and their friends have been going for 8 years now. It is the kick-off to summertime! School is out and summers here! I stayed in Lake Hamilton and came out daily. It is a fairly new tradition for me. Even tho it rained a bit, we still managed to have a great time!

The absolute best lake! Clean, clear & so much to do here! Being on a boat in this water is like a little piece of heaven!! The views are spectacular, the water is beautiful and there are so many islands you can choose from! Peaceful beaches with clarity!!
Tammy L — Google review
Its amazing. If you got boats you can camp on the islands. It's so beautiful if you have a waterboard too. You can be halfway between the islands and still see the bottom clearly. Perfect for scuba diving and underwear photography. It is a bit of a warm water lake and there are tiny fish that will bite. But it's still magical nonetheless.
Makaylie — Google review
This place is absolutely amazing. The clearest water I've seen in my life and it's on the top 10 best places to swim on Earth. The first 2 time's I went I rented a boat and got lost both times. Plan on taking my daughter's as soon as possible. 10 out of 10!

Nestled in the heart of Hot Springs, Arkansas, the Ozark Bathhouse stands as a testament to early 20th-century architecture with its stunning Spanish colonial facade. Originally constructed in 1922, this historic bathhouse was designed to attract middle-class visitors seeking the therapeutic benefits of the region's famous mineral baths without excessive frills. Today, it has transformed into a vibrant cultural center that hosts various events and programs celebrating local history and community spirit.
This is a beautiful historic home in Pennsylvania and the local government is trying to tear it down they put a prison next to it and now they're trying to put a methadone clinic next to it this place has a lot of history gangsters and politicians alike have sat in this house at the dining table and it is owned by a very nice and wonderful family now but the local government has been trying to push them out and keep trying to surround them with more problems so if you know this place please help to protect it write your local politician and tell them please save this house

Wow ! We did the couple private hot springs bath. It was great, private, 20ish minutes, which was more than enough for us and cold cucumber water, and a cold peppermint damp cloth. We really enjoyed it. A private oasis. Staff were also very service orientated and nice.

The Fordyce Bathhouse Visitor Center and Museum is a grand 1910 bathhouse that has been transformed into a museum, featuring stained glass and marble. It offers exhibits and films about the baths, providing visitors with a glimpse into its operation from 1915 to 1962. The museum showcases the luxurious spa treatments and entertainment that were once enjoyed in this architectural marvel.
One of the best National park visitor centers I’ve been to! It hosts a 4 floor exhibit full of information for FREE! It also includes a 14 minute short fill which plays every half hour (I highly recommend it was super interesting and funny)! Make sure you make it to the basement which shows the water pumps and the hot spring! The center closes at 5, however the top 2 floors close at 4:45 so plan accordingly!
Emma J — Google review
there is absolutely no set parking for the national park or visitor center and museum. just have to drive around and find a spot along the street or in one of the few pay for parking lots. i didn’t find the museum to be very interesting but it was well done and had a beautiful interior and exterior. bathhouse row was neat to walk by but couldn’t imagine myself spending more than the 30 minutes we did in the museum. it was free entry so if you’re in the area and looking for something to do it’s an cool place to stop but definitely wouldn’t go out of my way to visit again.
Alyssa W — Google review
If you're visiting from out of town, this is one of those places to check out. It offers some history and gives you an insight of how bathhouses ran. Admission was free as my family took a self guided tour. After finishing the tour we even got a nice presentation from park ranger James Byrd. He gave us information about the types of local birds and ended up by giving my kid an activity to work on. There weren't other people who attended his presentation (which was a bit sad), but my family took the opportunity to learn one on one. Overall it's something to check off when you're visiting the area.

My family and I enjoyed stepping back in time and experiencing this beautiful bathhouse in all its splendor. We found it interesting in learning more about the early beginnings of physical therapy and the fascination that many had with what the restorative springs could offer them. It kind of reminded me of the movie “The Road to Wellville.” Definitely needs to be on the bucket list of unique and obscure places to visit if you’re interested in medical oddities.
Laura — Google review
It doesn't cost. When you walk in. Don't be alarmed. It has security guards. They have cute little badges. Its okay. They are there to give you information. This is kinda weird. It is a visitor building. 3 floors of history for the bath house. Truly it seemed like this could've been a horror movie. It's clean, but knowing what it was and the diseases they had. I didn't touch anything. THE tile and stain glass work is truly amazing. There's abundance of history. They have an elevator or you can climb the steep stairs. On the second level is a trivia room and a movie that plays every 20 minutes about the history of the baths. Anyway its really neatand everyone should do it. I dont think kids should go. They like to touch everything. They wouldn't understand it.

A beautiful look back into the history in Hot Springs. Take some time to walk through the Fordyce Bathhouse whether you do your own self-guided tour, a phone guided tour they offer, or even a tour led by one of the Rangers. I loved all of the stained glass and preserved details of the bathhouse.
Faith M — Google review
Amazing experience! Felt like being in a time warp. Great information and history made you feel like you were there 100 years ago. Will definitely visit again. Don't forget to go the the third floor to see the gymnasium!
Brandon Y — Google review
Time Capsule! The Fordyce, one of the eight historic bathhouses on Bathhouse Row, is now a visitor center and museum of Hot Springs National Park. We took a self-guided tour of this four-story building, exploring different rooms and displays. The building has undergone substantial restoration to preserve its original appearance as a bathhouse, complete with marble flooring, stained-glass windows, a gymnasium, and numerous bathing rooms. We learnt the science underlying the thermal springs, the evolution of bathing practices in Hot Springs and different medical terminologies associated with this place. Our visit was deeply engaging and impressive.

Hot Springs Mountain Tower is a 216-ft. tower with an elevator that takes you up to an observation deck, providing breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and Hot Springs below. It's located near the end of Hot Springs Mountain Trail and offers amenities such as water, restrooms, and snacks. The admission fee is $11 or $9 with an America the Beautiful Pass. You can drive up to the parking lot or hike the trail to reach the tower.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely breathtaking views from the Hot Springs Mountain Tower! You can see the rivers, mountains, and the entire city bathed in golden light — especially during sunset. The scenery is peaceful, the air feels fresh, and the 360° view is just mesmerizing. Watching the sunset from the top was such a serene experience, and the photo spots are amazing! The tower is clean, well maintained, and the staff is very friendly. A must-visit spot in Hot Springs if you love nature, photography, or simply want to unwind and take in the beauty around you.

Great view from the top, lots of history on display boards on the lower floor. Also a nice souvenir shop with a mix of gifts from shirts, sweatshirts, ornaments, magnets, shot, glasses, snacks, and so on. It is eight dollars to go to the top of the tower. And it is wheelchair accessible. To get to the tower, you will also take a pretty scenic drive. Enjoy the drive and watch for wildlife. We saw a doe and her two fawns.
Lisa J — Google review
This is such a beautiful scenic place. Very nice gift shop when you walk in. You can pay to take the elevator to the top (which I would definitely suggest) you won't be disappointed. The view is magnificent. The roads going in and coming out are gorgeous and lots of places to pull over and take pictures. I could go on and on about it but all I can say is if you are in Hot Springs don't pass it up. There's so much to do there and so many trails.
Stacy ( — Google review
Tower provides a panoramic view of Hot Springs and beyond. Stop on the second level to incorporate the history of the Hot Springs and the bath houses. Take time to stop along the way before the tower to enjoy the views. The tower staff were very welcoming.
MTT C — Google review
Beautiful place, all the hot springs are commercialised for hot baths for paid and reserved. Couldn’t see any natural hot springs in the National Park. Very beautiful trails with tree cover. The observation tower/Mountain tower was very beautiful for a Birds Eye view and great outlook points on the way. Nearby is a Marina where boating l, kayaking and water activities which can be a great cool off for the kids and family.
Ravi T — Google review
Extremely popular, but that also means very crowded. The views are one of a kind, and there's 2 levels at the top including one indoor that's kind of like a hot springs museum. The drive up to the tower is also very scenic and beautiful, but expect to be hurried by traffic behind you.
David S — Google review
Great views from on high of the surrounding Hot Springs area. Also pretty good gift shop at the base entrance. There is an elevator to the top. Wheelchair accessible.

Really enjoyed visiting Hot Springs Mountain Tower. The views from the top were beautiful and totally worth it. The elevator ride up was quick, and there’s a small gift shop and some cool info displays. Great spot if you’re in the area — perfect for a short, scenic stop.

Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site

Sights & Landmarks
Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site is a significant landmark in American civil rights history. It commemorates the 1957 desegregation crisis and the bravery of the Little Rock Nine, who were the first African American students to attend the school after the Brown v. Board of Education ruling. The site stands as a testament to their struggle for civil rights and is located on Daisy L. Gatson Bates Drive in Little Rock, Arkansas.
They offer a 1 pm guided tour every day. Our tour guide Ranger Randy was very knowledgeable and gave an excellent tour, but unfortunately he is retiring so you’ll probably get another tour guide. Hopefully they will be just a good. Make sure to book reservations in advance if you want the guided tour, or just stop in anytime if you want to do a self guided tour. The guided tour really makes the story come alive, so I would recommend it. Our tour lasted about 2 hours and was half inside and half outside. There is also a visitors center if you want to look around on your own.
Thor Y — Google review
Visiting Little Rock Central High School was a powerful experience. The building itself is a stunning example of Gothic Revival architecture, standing as a testament to resilience and progress. Walking through its historic grounds, I couldn't help but reflect on the pivotal events of 1957 and the Bravery of the Little Rock Nine. The site balances beauty with the weight of its past, serving as an essential educational landmark that reminds us of the ongoing journey toward equality. A must-visit for those interested in civil rights history. The visitors center is free and incredibly well done. Take your time!!! The high school is still a working and functional school so there is no admittance to inside but you can walk the beautiful grounds.

Nice. School is still in use. Huge. Principal was nice to let us in even though it wasn’t open to the public that day.
Kerra H — Google review
The experience of being there is breathtaking. Honor history while you can! Let me remind you all, it is an active school. So don't walk in. I almost walked in because I initially thought it was a museum. When I saw a young high school aged student with a bookbag walk out with her mom, I realized class was in session! The museum is across the street from the school.
V. D — Google review
Very interesting and informative site and museum. The museum is across the street from the high school so you are able to learn about the history and actually see where it took place. The museum gave the history of the high school and the efforts to integrate and also prevent integration. They had videos, pictures, and some objects. Lots of information to take in so take your time it’s worth it! The subject was handled in a sensitive and informative manner.

Pinnacle Mountain State Park, located just west of Little Rock, is a vast 2,356-acre day-use park offering a variety of outdoor activities. Visitors can explore scenic hiking trails with stunning mountain views and enjoy canoeing in the area. The park features an arboretum and a visitor center for those interested in learning more about the natural surroundings. The landscape includes sandstone ridges and exposed bare rock with flora resembling that of Southwest Texas, making it a unique destination for nature enthusiasts.
West side, three quarters of a mile climbed up in about forty five minutes resting from time to time. Rocky but fun trails with amazing views! Secure to hike solo, plenty of hikers yet you get your space and peace, everyone is respectful. The main entrance to the park has moved to the new visitor center so you will have to use the new road to access the west summit picnic area.
Isabel I — Google review
Pinnacle Mountain is absolutely breathtaking! We took the west Summit Trail to the top and oh my gosh, even though it is a very challenging climb getting to the top it was well worth it. You have to do it at least once.! The last two or three mile markers is when you start climbing the boulders, but it’s very good exercise! My recommendation is to wear good hiking shoes with good traction and take plenty of water because you will stop and rest a lot along the way but well worth it!
Catherine P — Google review
Get away to the scenic wonders! In 2023, my husband and I visited this beautiful state park and hiked the base trail. We chose to return because we didn't have enough time to hike to the summit of Pinnacle Mountain. On March 24, 2025, we hiked to the West Summit Trail. This is a 1.4-mile round trip and an out and back trail type with 734 ft elevation gain. We completed the hike in 2 hours. The trail is well-maintained and clearly marked. There are a few seats along the trail where you may rest or enjoy the scenery. The hike offers breathtaking views of the surroundings and is enjoyable while being rather difficult. This trail requires some bouldering and scrambling due to its steep climb and rocky terrain, especially after point-7, where the path becomes entirely bouldery. We stayed on the summit for about thirty minutes, taking in the expansive views of the Arkansas River Valley, Lake Maumelle, and the surrounding area.
Debashri M — Google review
Very cool view from the top. Nice place for photos. Trail was relatively easy(if you’re in shape) and just felt like a stair-master at some points.

A great spot with multiple different trails! We were excited to find out it was free. It was a nice mixture of different trail difficulty levels. Staff was super helpful to point us in the right direction and explain some of the trails.

I brought my 4-year-old and my 2-year-old all the way to the top. Great day good exercise way better than watching them sit in front of youtube all day.
Wesley C — Google review
Vigorous hike, 795 ft up, full of boulders, great workout, pack a picnic because the top is the most amazing view! Leave your dog at home. Too hot and too dangerous if the dog pulls while scrambling up or down the large boulders. Really, too hot for them. I saw a man with a small dog at the top last weekend and that dog was hyperventilating and dehydrated. So sad.

Museum
Landmark state park featuring Arkansas' tallest American Indian mounds, plus a visitors center.
Amazing locations with paved trails! A piece of history still being discovered. Visitor center(museum) has bathrooms, local maker items for sale and replica artifacts. Bring snacks, water and suncreen—in the middle of farmland and not close fast food.
Kayla C — Google review
My brother and I very much enjoy our time here. The museum was full of very interesting information. The mounds was very interesting. I think this park would be a better choice in the Spring or Fall. We didn't get the full outlook because the Summer heat drove us back inside. I liked two things especially. The peek behind the curtain to look into the archeologists' lab and that many of the gift shop items were inexpensive-good for a child. Overall fantastic time had
Brenda B — Google review
The place was beautiful, but the pictures going the water with the Bald Cypress Trees and walking over the bridge wasn't an option. You couldn't even get to the water. Everything else was interesting and educational. We will come back and show the kids.
Beth R — Google review
This is a wonderful place to stop in and learn about a touch of History that surrounds this area. Things are still being discovered today in 2024 is they have an on-site archaeological area where they are cleaning and taking care of the things that have been found in the mounds. Paved walking 3/4 mile trail surrounds the mounds as well as a dirt trail that is about a mile and a half long. Restrooms are available on site outside outside as well as inside the gift shop area. The gift shop area has all kinds of different things that you can choose from. You're guaranteed to leave with a memento of a visit that you'll never forget. This is a must stop if you never been here and even if you have, it's a must place for you to return to. Enjoy nature and the history that surrounds it.

A real gem of a park just a short drive from downtown Little Rock. The trail was easy and fun, and our kids were genuinely interested in the history of the mounds. The rangers were all helpful, and it was cool to be able to see the people who were actively identifying and cataloging artifacts. We will visit again!

Nestled in the heart of Little Rock, Arkansas, the Little Rock River Market District is a bustling and vibrant hub that showcases the essence of downtown living. Visitors can explore local shops, savor diverse cuisines from food trucks, and groove to live music.

Food was delicious from the Thai restaurant. Great choices and all very good. Sadly ,there was usually one person working each booth. This made for long waits for food. Great place if you aren’t in a hurry.
Andrea H — Google review
This is such a great location for food vendors and patrons. It actually rivals many enjoyable out of town establishments that are comparable. The biggest problem (and reason for my rating) is that it is not open past 2 pm. The hours are horrible and prevent many businesses from reaching their greatest earning potential. My family and I would regularly frequent Ottenheimer Hall if it were open later.

A nice farmer's market offering local produce and goods. Located under two covered vendor areas, this downtown river market is a fun way to spend a Saturday morning! Bicycle rentals and a ton of restaurants along with a food hall are just feet away.

I like the idea that there are so many restaurants in one building that represents so many different parts of the world. My favorite is the Japanese restaurant and I have been there about four times although there are a few restaurants inside that I have a very difficult time passing by.

The River Market was nearly completely devoid of people on our Saturday afternoon visit. While the place might be quite entertaining during the summer, it is rather lifeless in the winter. The Middle East Mediterranean place did have fantastic food and incredibly friendly service!

The William J. Clinton Library and Museum in Little Rock offers a fascinating look into the life and presidency of Bill Clinton. The museum spans three floors and features a wide array of exhibits, including documents, photographs, and artifacts from his time in office. Visitors can explore replicas of the Oval Office and Cabinet Room, as well as displays showcasing daily life at the White House. Additionally, the museum is set within a 30-acre park, providing a scenic backdrop for visitors to enjoy.
In May 2025, we visited the William J. Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas. The Clinton Library is impressive. The displays are amazing and it is clean and well laid out. Even though I do not agree with many of Clinton's politics, I left having more respect for Clinton and what he accomplished as a US President. I highly recommend visiting the Clinton Presidential Library.
John C — Google review
Amazing museum - a must see for anyone in the area. They've done a really nice job at bringing the story to life and you really get to relive the era in your mind. The exhibits are really well done and very detailed. The staff is super friendly, warm and welcoming. The cabinet room is a favorite as well as the oval office of course. I brought the kids (under 10) and they had enough to keep entertained for a few hours while I walked down memory lane.

We LOVED this museum! We didn’t have any expectations— just knew we wanted to go and check it out. Well lucky for us, we were blown away. The architecture and intention behind the building’s design was just as amazing as the exhibits inside. The best part was our tour guide, Mark, who was so friendly, personable, and knowledgeable about the building and US History. He truly made our visit extra special and memorable! The second best part was the portrait gallery! The art work of the Clinton’s was unbelievable! We also loved learning about their pets, Boots and Socks and seeing all of the treasures they were gifted by foreign diplomats. A must see for $12!!
Denyel B — Google review
Going back to my home state can be more than just visiting relatives. I had to make time to visit the Clinton Library again. When I visited the first time, it had just opened and my husband didn't get to see it. The library is a fun, educational experience and we both enjoyed our visit. There are exhibits on all three floors and lots of interactive things to do. We visited a special exhibit of portraits first and then went through the rest of the library. The gifts from visiting dignitaries areas are always fun and fascinating. The library covers all aspects of Bill Clinton's life and does a good job of it. Having visited several other presidential libraries, I did find the layout (it was built to be like a bridge to the future) a little confining. But overall it is really great place filled with so much history. There is a restaurant located in the bottom floor of the building, but it was closed the day we visited so we went to lunch nearby. I was told it is best to make a reservation if you want to eat in the restaurant. You can leave and return the same day as long as you keep your ticket.
Lucille T — Google review
Well organized displays. Very helpful, friendly, and well informed staff. Loved seeing personal correspondence and photos and other memorabilia. Stunning replica of Oval Office. Cabinet room too. Very reasonable price for admission but a little pricey and regrettable up charge for a photo in the Oval.
Fr. N — Google review
We had a guided tour. Melissa, our tour guide was amazing! She discussed many Clinton Family events at the White House and pointed out lots of memorabilia that we might have missed ourselves. Sabrina, our guide for the oval office provided a lot of interesting points of history regarding the oval office furnishings.
Nancy G — Google review
The library is a powerful memory of the Clinton presidency from 1993 until early 2001. The history lessons transcend political views, making it an interesting visit for anyone. The grounds also offer wonderful scenery and have great walking and running trails.
Michael N — Google review
I walked in expecting a library, shelves of documents, maybe a display case or two. What I found was something else entirely. This isn’t just a collection of papers, it’s a time capsule—an immersive experience into President Clinton’s legacy, decisions, and the era he helped define. My family and I stood there, stunned at what we didn’t know. The exhibits pull you in, not just with facts, but with context and feeling. We sat at the President’s staff table, snapped photos in the replica Oval Office, and found ourselves taking a genuine interest in his life and presidency—something I didn’t expect to happen as deeply as it did. This visit changed our summer plans. Since then, we’ve explored two more presidential libraries, and we’re already mapping out a trail for next year. There is an entry fee, but it’s more than worth it. This place opened a door for us we didn’t know we wanted to walk through.

We visited The Old Mill in North Little Rock and the view was very beautiful. The old stone building beside the quiet water looked like something from a movie. Trees and flowers were all around, and the sound of the water was peaceful. It was a perfect place to take photos and enjoy nature. We loved it!

My Fiance took me here for a picnic in the park. I love it!! Beautiful sky and pretty flower's, it was extremely hot this day. They have duck's and they are bold when they see people eating lol. The old mill was an absolutely stunning place, there were a lot of volunteers here keeping the place stunning. This place magical, absolutely breathtaking. It only took a short 30 minutes as we were on a time crunch but it was absolutely scenic. Between the wood bridges, the small house, pond, or waterfall. Great place to stopby and enjoy nature, take a break, or take picnics. Absolutely wonderful and will come again. There is no fee to enter, but I wish there was a donation box. The volunteers here are doing amazing work to keep this place tidy ☺️

I didn't know I was going here until I was just a few miles away. Once I got here I was in total amazement. I've seen pictures of the mill in fact the hotel I'm staying at has it on the wall. Going through the entire area I got great pictures and memories of the beauty of the whole area. The master gardeners do such a great job, here it's middle of October and the flowers are still blooming. Take a half hour out of your day and smell the flowers.

In the middle of North Little Rock’s quiet neighborhoods sits this hidden JEWEL amongst normal homes. We got there in less than five minutes from my daughter’s house. It took me around an hour to walk through this gorgeous place. Don’t get me wrong, this place takes you less than 15 minutes to finish it, but if you’re like me who like to take their time sightseeing, time will pass without you realising that. Admission is free, the only downside is the limited parking spaces since the mill lies between homes, so you need to choose when to visit 😉👍🏻

Destination featuring a historic lodge with a pool, plus hiking, boating & dramatic natural scenery.
We went on the short 30min round walk to the "Rock House cave". The Turtle shell Rocks were very unique. Cameras for your security all throughout which made me feel more comfortable in a way. The cave was big & very cool. We didn't spot any of the pictographs sadly. They do have facilities but they are pretty dirty.

Wonderful state park with plenty to do and see! The hikes are great and the variety is perfect and ranges from short and easy to challenging. Make sure you know which you are on. There is even a wheelchair accessible walk to the see the overlook and view of the waterfall from the top. Make sure you check out all the of the overlooks on Red Bluff Drive as well. This road is one way once you get past the residential areas, so stay right on the road. The overlooks are amazing and there is interpretation and places to sit and take in the views. There are lots of other things to see and explore here too. Mathers Lodge is really cool and has a gift shop and restaurant inside, there is an old cabin at the start of Cedar creek trail, and don't forget the cool water tower and the bridge/dam/small waterfall! The visitors center is where you get your passport stamp and the gift shop has some really cute things to purchase, as well as a little museum area to explore. This is truly a great state park that you could spend all day at and still find more interesting things to look at.

Petit Jean is a really nice AR state park. The trails are marked pretty well. We stayed in dog friendly cabin #29. It was clean and the bed was very comfortable. They give free firewood because there is a wood burning fireplace inside (but also heated and cooled). There is ample room to store your things and the bathroom area is spacious and nice. We had adjoining neighbors and there was no problem with noise (they had a dog too) or lack of hot water. The swing on the porch is super nice. There is a small fridge and coffee pot with coffee and set ups. Don't forget to visit Mather Lodge Restaurant. The food was very good, avg price ($$) and the view is absolutely beautiful! It's best not to arrive for the first time after dark though!

Petit Jean State Park is absolutely beautiful! You can catch an incredible sunrise with no hiking required — just pull up and enjoy the view. The trails are excellent and well maintained, and the waterfall is truly breathtaking. Mather Lodge has gorgeous views from the restaurant, and staying in one of the cabins makes the experience even more special. There are also nice coffee shops and gift shops nearby, which make it a perfect getaway spot. Highly recommend visiting!

Petit Jean State Park absolutely stole our hearts. From hiking two of its signature trails—Cedar Falls Trail and Seven Hollows Trail—to cozying up in Cabin 10 by historic Mather Lodge, and savoring a great meal at the lodge restaurant, it was the perfect Arkansas escape. Trail Highlights Cedar Falls Trail Distance and difficulty: ~2 miles round-trip; moderate with a steep initial descent and climb back out. What we loved: The trail drops about 200 feet into a lush canyon, following Cedar Creek. The payoff is Cedar Falls, a stunning waterfall around 95 feet high—misty, powerful, and photogenic. Cool rock formations and shaded stretches make the trek feel immersive, especially after rainfall when the creek and falls are lively. Tips: Start early to beat crowds and heat. Wear sturdy footwear—the stone steps and creekside sections can be slick. Leave time to linger at the base; it’s a true “wow” moment. Seven Hollows Trail Distance and difficulty: ~4.5-mile loop; moderate, with rolling terrain. What we loved: A sampler of everything that makes Petit Jean special—bluff lines, sandstone formations, box canyons, and quiet forest. The Grotto spur is a must: a serene alcove with a seasonal waterfall and a mossy, cool oasis feel. A natural stone bridge and sculpted rock corridors give the hike a sense of discovery around every bend. Tips: Bring water and a snack; it’s longer and more leisurely than Cedar Falls. Clockwise or counterclockwise both work—just take the short spur to the Grotto when you see it. Cabin 10 at Mather Lodge Our stay in Cabin 10 near Mather Lodge was wonderfully cozy—quiet, tucked among trees. The cabin felt inviting from the moment we stepped in, with that classic state-park charm and the kind of calm you only get in the woods. We loved winding down there after hiking—simple, comfortable, and restful. Dining at Mather Lodge Restaurant The lodge restaurant delivered exactly what we hoped for after the trails: hearty, satisfying food and friendly service. The portions were generous, the flavors hit the spot, and the dining room’s big-window views made every meal feel special. It’s the kind of place where you relax into your chair, swap trail stories, and consider dessert even if you swore you were “too full.” Final Take Petit Jean State Park blends natural drama with genuine comfort. Cedar Falls Trail gave us that iconic Arkansas waterfall moment; Seven Hollows Trail felt like an adventure through sculpted stone and hidden grottos. Cabin 10 at Mather Lodge was the coziest home base, and the lodge restaurant rounded out each day beautifully. If you’re looking for an Arkansas getaway where the trails are inspiring and the evenings feel like a hug, this is it.

The beauty of this place is just breathtaking. My husband and I decided to head here after helping our daughter move to Missouri. We grabbed a cabin & we were able to see the sunset & sunrise at the cliff by the Mather Lodge. We didn't get to see everything or do trails but we did get to take some beautiful pictures and realize how much we have taken for granted in life . We will be going back again!

We had a great day going up and checking out all the Overlook areas and a few really short hikes to Cedar Falls Overlook and the Rock House Cave! Rock house cave trail down is hard on knees but not too bad if you take your time. It is technically some minor Rock climbing, we saw kids on the trails but nobody who had any walking difficulties. Wouldn't recommend that trail for elderly. The cedar falls lookout is a 0.25 mile board walk slow hike down so very easy.

Absolutely incredible place! It was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The park has a great feel to it. Everyone I met was friendly and in a good mood. It's hard not to be in a place like this - with so much beauty 😍

Woolly Hollow State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
Lakeside natural area with boat rental & launching, campsites, hiking trails, showers & a snack bar.
Shocked how nice it is. There's an artesian well spring right beside our camp grounds, spot #1, which is also next to this little lake. Kinda pricey, but nice. Very clean men's room with nice shower. Polite guests. Easy to collect firewood, at the first of April. I've camped in far worse places for the same money. There were two mounds of beaver dams (best guess) right beside our campsite!
Jeremy W — Google review
Woolly Hollow State Park is a quick drive from Greenbrier, Arkansas and is based on a dam lake, Bennett Lake. This park has a somewhat secluded type of appeal offering a broad spectrum of amenities, such as hiking, biking, camping, picnic tables, snack bar, swimming, and more. Using the idiom, "just for kicks" might best describe the photo that includes a rather bewildering permanent "no swimming" sign next to the designated swimming area and "no picnicking" sign next to a picnic table. Sorry, this just couldn't be resisted! On a more serious note, you'll discover great hiking, easy access to the lake, plenty of room to move without crowds, clean restrooms, and a pristine Visitor Center. Of particular note, was the customer service received at the Visitor Center. We were treated as special, unique, and received trail direction that later saved us from getting lost...and we are experienced hikers. The woman we spoke with even went so far as to ask us to call if we got lost. In a word, IMPRESSIVE! The only drawback we found regarding the trails were the obvious lack of maps marking your actual location and proximity when you're on the trails at various points. As a result, it is fairly easy to get lost, so bring plenty of water, particularly at this time of year.

We had fun! Free to get in. Free WIFI! There’s space to kayak, a swimming area roped off, fishing is good, several people camping (tents), and family friendly. The water is dark and murky —so didn’t swim. There’s sand in the swimming area and kids were having a ball. Bathrooms. Trails. Kayak kiosk. Cell reception is spotty. Great little State Park.

Great little swim spot, friendly staff on the lifeguard stand, and in the concession! The food is awesome and the prices are reasonable. They offer peddle boats, and kayaks for rent (and a launch if you have your own kayak/canoe) and the park has lovely trails for walking or mountain biking. The parking is ample and they have campsites/RV spaces as well! Be sure to visit the Visitor Center, they have a little shop that's fun to enjoy.

Great lil spot! Clean and friendly, nice camp areas with running water on the lots, each with fire pits, tent pads and a picnic table. Lots of wood available to cut for a fire and beautiful views of the lake. I would recommend packing bug spray though! Also, there's volleyball and basketball areas so bring a ball!! :)

Enjoyed a warm, sunny day at the swim beach swimming and paddle boating. Learned about the history of the Wooly family that the park is named after.

We went with family. They had camper and we had a tent pad on the same campsite. The park is beautiful. The tent site was nestled in the tree's beautiful on a tent pad. I just don't think that the campers should have to pay to swim there. 😕 also the park rangers were very rude .

As with most AR state parks, this park is lovely. Lots and lots of trees. Nice hiking trails. Swim beach, playground, fishing, kayaking, and more are available. Hookups worked great. Very nice overall.

Went during the winter so all the leaves have dropped or are brown. It’s a different kind of beauty. The sunset and views were still lovely. The gps told me that it would be a 2.5 hour drive. I think it was closer to 3 due to how winding the road was. It is a long drive on Hwy 23 “the pig trail” with hairpin turns. Then there was 8-9 miles on a dirt road that is very narrow. The dirt road is very bumpy and there are many blind corners and hills where you suddenly have to get over for oncoming vehicles. I would recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle or one you don’t care as much about. Google maps tries to take people to the wrong location and you will find yourself on a private driveway with a no trespassing sign on the gate. There is a 3-4 car parking area 0.25 miles before that before the turn onto the private drive and that is the parking and trailhead. The hike is moderately easy going downhill first and then back uphill, then hiking along the cliffs for a short ways. The hike was about 3 miles and we stopped to take pictures several times. It took us about two hours. It gets dark out on the trail about an hour earlier than actual “sundown” and that dirt road is pretty bad in the dark. I also lost cell service for the last part of the drive and hike. This was fine until I was trying to drive home and there were several forks in the dirt road that you have to remember which way since the gps is “offline” It is definitely worth the trouble for the amazing views but next time I will definitely leave earlier to have more time and not feel rushed by the oncoming sunset/dark.

Entrance to the whitaker point. The road is unpaved and the markings could've been clear. There's an hidden marking behind the parking lot. Suggest to visit before sunset and not many options available here for camping. There are few cabins available nearby to stay. Have a nice hike

I always have to stop by when I'm in Arkansas. Such a gorgeous view. You don't need tickets - it's free.
Jessica B — Google review
This is basically an old tourist trap. It's just a viewing area where you see a great view of the Ozarks. Worth viewing if you are in the area. We drove 2 hours from Little Rock and made a day of it. Lots of views along the way. Make sure to stop at the Rotary Ann Rest Area and Who Da Thought It convenience store is you are heading that way.

If you are traveling to the Buffalo River area, the Arkansas Grand Canyon is definitely worth a quick stop. I came across the Arkansas Grand Canyon while traveling toward the Buffalo National River, and I am so glad I stopped. There is a small gift shop on-site, which is convenient if you want a drink, or a local souvenir. Restrooms are also available, which makes this stop even more practical during a road trip. Parking is free and available on both sides of the gift shop, so it’s easy to pull over without hassle. Overall, it’s a good, quick stop with stunning natural beauty and the basic amenities you’d want while traveling. Highly recommend taking a few minutes here. you won’t regret it!

If you want to tell your mind that you’re eager to fly and get lost in the vast, open mountainous area, then I would say this Grand Canyon is something like that heavenly place. We drove over 200 miles to visit there, and it was worth it. Loved the tower lookout as well. Highly recommended 🙂
Dewan R — Google review
We were told to stop as we we’re planning a trip through Northwest Arkansas. We changed our route just to make this stop – and it was definitely worth it! It was a very quiet, peaceful side of the road stop that allowed us to not only enjoy beautiful views, but have a few minutes to stretch our legs. There are restrooms available on site along with a gift/snack shop (we didn’t go in to shop). There’s also a tower that you can climb to look out over higher views. While there, my mother found a beautiful painted rock from GeoGirls – the QR code on the back of the rock allowed us to tag its location and then move it and re-hide it in a new location. That was a sweet little find while we were there. If you’re looking for an action packed stop, this might not be it. But if you’re looking for a quiet stop with beautiful views, it’s definitely worth your time to come by here!
Dana M — Google review
It's a great spot! Beautiful view. We stopped at the scenic view before where the GPS was taking us. There was a tower and a gift shop. There is another place to stop by far down the road but it's easy to miss.

Bodies of Water
Created by the damming of the Little Red River in 1962, this reservoir flooded the town of Higden.
The lake looks kind of like a dragon. It's also fun to camp and swim. There's also little cliffs to dive into the water on. And, since the lake is so large, it's never crowded.
Nameless — Google review
Beautiful area, the lake is usually very clear with room for swimming, boating, n a host of other water activities. Some of the bathrooms are brick outhouse type n need upgrading n better cleaning. The shower houses n bathroom are fine. Beautiful areas for camp sites. There are pavilions that can be reserved n rented. Some need a better cleaning.

Hurricane River Cave is currently closed for restoration under new ownership. The owners are making significant upgrades to the lighting, walkways, bridge, and stairs to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors. Once the repairs are completed, the cave will be reopened for exploration.
My wife and I took 2 ten year olds to this cavern. It turned out to be a self-guided tour, which was fantastic. We were able to do more and see more, up close...not the cookie-cutter, roped off experience you get from the other caves.

Cave has new owners and is closed for restoration. Owners have upgraded all the lighting in the cave and are rebuilding the walkway, bridge and stairs. Will be reopened when repairs are done and a safe, enjoyable recreation experience can be had by all visitors.
Gary S — Google review
Never made it to the cave, arrived approximately an hour after they were suppose to be open. Walked around to find clothes hanging up, old food/food/pots and pans laying around the shop outside, all the equipment was out in the rain, closed sign with the lights off. Called the owner(s) and they apologized and said someone would be on site in a few minutes. After 20 minutes, a worker came downstairs and opened the shop. We went inside only to hear him still trying to get ready, he was living upstairs of the shop and was still asleep with another woman yelling at him asking if he's going to get out of bed. After 45 minutes of waiting, he never acknowledged we were even there, waiting by ourselves. Another worker drove up on an ATV, once again never acknowledged us. So we left, only person to even speak to us was another customer that wanted her flashlights back from the day before. Highly unprofessional. Unorganized. Very disappointed in the staff.

Nestled in the Ozark Mountains, Ozark Folk Center State Park is a haven for preserving the region's rich heritage. The park offers a blend of music, culinary delights, and traditional crafts. Visitors can explore on-site cabins and immerse themselves in the sounds of bluegrass music while witnessing artisans practicing trades like blacksmithing, broom making, stained glass work, pottery making, and more. The Arkansas Craft Guild's headquarters are also located nearby.
We enjoyed Ozark Folk Center, I think if we went on the weekend there would be much more going on. However we really enjoyed it. All of the craftsmen are individual business owners so be sure to patronize them. I loved the log cabin with the rock gardens and root cellar. The restaurant wasn’t open and a few other areas weren’t either. Blacksmithing, broom making, stained glass, knife making, Pottery making, printing press, hand bows, painting, herbalist, live bluegrass music, etc, all very interesting. I will probably go back later in the week when there’s a little more action but we still saw a lot. If you show them your Blanchard Springs Cavern ticket you get a discount! I think it save us $4 each!

Interesting place to go for a day if you are in the area. We ate a meal in The Skillet Restaurant before we walked around. They have a great salad bar!The little village area where you can go in and out and watch craftmen and artists demonstrate their craft was kind of fun. We enjoyed some more then others. The Copper Colorists was a fun shop. They do beautiful work with copper and the lady that demonstrated, Rachel Matthews, was very entertaining. I bought a beautiful flame painted pin in the shape of a butterfly. Also, the magician was fun to watch!
Kelly G — Google review
My husband has been bragging about this place for years and I finally got him to bring me. It is so much better than what he told me. It is $15 a person and you get to walk around visiting different shops and the people show and tell you how everything is made. They also have different items you can buy and take home with you. The people are very knowledgeable and very friendly. There is also a restaurant on the property and an outside trail behind it that has huge boulders. It is so worth the trip you won't regret it.
Amber H — Google review
This is a very nice place to spend the day. There's about 20 vendors in the park demonstrating their craft. All are very willing to talk to you and answer questions. Crafts such as pottery, copper, printing, knife making, blacksmithing and the list goes on. There's special program during the day but most are in the morning. They no longer have the high ropes course. The Fiddler Restaurant is on the property and is good.

This celebrated "living" cave system has 3 levels of lighted, paved trails & guided tours.
We enjoyed the tour in the cave. It was fun and educational. I even took my special needs child who uses a wheelchair. You definitely need to be strong on holding it while walking but very manageable. It was a nice family outing. Make sure you purchase tickets online to ensure access upon arrival. There are also exhibits to explore while waiting for the tour as well as a gift shop

Been to caves in Pennsylvania, Virginia and now Arkansas! I'm always amazed at what I see! It's amazing to see all of this space underground and to know how long its been there is even more amazing! My family love finding caves in the areas we go. Definitely recommend checking this cave out!
Vicki F — Google review
Great experience! The drive is interesting; if you have a problem with motion sickness you won’t be happy. Check the tour times before you arrive. The cave closes at 5 pm. It’s a mile hike, steep and slippery. It is NOT for anyone with mobility issues. The gift shop is fine for a wheelchair, but don’t take a wheelchair into the cave. The Forestry Service handles the tours because all of the guides were laid off due to budget cuts.
Richard K — Google review
We've visited several caves and this was by far the most incredible! The part we walked was big and it's the upper part of the cave. There's 4-5 times that much underneath that's a little more challenging and is only offered during Summer. It's a pretty easy cave to walk but there are a few inclines that might get you winded a little but they have great paved paths to walk. I've posted several pics and a video below but as always, pics just can't capture the true beauty and expanse of the cave. I would recommend this as a "must see" and I don't think you'll be disappointed. The drive there is somewhat curvy but it's most definitely worth it. Just give yourself time, slow down and enjoy the beauty all around! ❤️

This was a fun little adventure. We took our two year old in a stroller and it was very manageable. The main cavern is huge! The tour guides were fun and make sure everyone was having a great time!
Andrew R — Google review
What a great experience this was! You have to make a reservation now because they are short staffed so they only have a limited number of tours. You start the tour by taking an elevator 200 feet down to the caves. Our guide was very knowledgeable and also funny. He did a great job giving us all the facts but also interspersed some jokes in there to keep us entertained. The caves are soooo cool! Literally. They self regulate the temperature down there to a nice cool 58 degrees. So if you get chilly easily, please take a light jacket. Once you are in, the caves are enormous! The Cathedral Room is the size of 3 football fields! It's hard to take pictures that actually convey how big it actually is! The path is concrete and for the most part easy to walk with some slight elevation and some steps. There are handrails. There are so many interesting facts about these Caverns and we throughly enjoyed our experience! I highly recommend that you go if you are in the area! And if you do go, also go and see Mirror Falls because it is nearby and sooo beautiful!
Kelly G — Google review
I do not think pictures will ever give this place justice. I 100% would come back again. Remember to book in advance because there might not be any spots if you just show up. The day we went they were sold out, but I always plan ahead and bought our tickets at least two months in advance. Not sure how fast they sell but I always plan ahead so Im glad I did not miss out this experience. Johnny Cash was my tour guide as he joked at one point. I trully do not remember his name but omg his knowledge and explanation throughout the tour made the experience well rounded. I learned a lot about the cave and he even answered lots of questions. Id say my experience was great because of him. You do go down 245 feet I think in about 1-2 minutes or something like that. Can’t quite remember. Please go and support our national parks! This expericence was worth so much more than what we paid and that was $30 about. Just know coming from Hot Springs this was a trip, lots of turns and no signal! We are from Louisiana, so super different terrain from our flat lands below sea level. Will be coming back for sure!!
Dajhanna A — Google review
It was with the hope of delight that the family and I sought entrance to the Caverns. I felt certain that the marvels of the patient centuries, who use the most subtle of tools to carve their wills into the living stone, would not be lost on my children. Surely the gradients of mineral tone change denoting the purity of the calcite would enthrall and enrapt. We were led into the maw of the caverns by our able guide, Eden. True to her namesake, she was perfect! Park Ranger humor? Check! Expertise at dodging the slings and arrows of unknown political agendas that could sprout from the smallest comment or answer? Check check! Eden was patient, knowledgeable, and kept the science interesting for old kids like myself! We left the Caverns and were herded onto a waiting bus. Blinded by the light and Confounded by the heat we stumbled back to the gift shop. I got a very cool bandana that tells you what to do when you aren't wearing it. Very handy! 5 stars to all! What a time to be alive!

We loved visiting these areas and playing in the spring! It was absolutely beautiful! There are easier wooden paths and medium dirt paths in areas. Our kids and myself had fun playing in the water a bit. Our dog had fun too! The water is quite chilly and some areas are slipped in the water due to moss, algae, etc. Water shoes with some tread is recommended. Would definitely visit again!

I’ve been hiking this park for 35yrs. Anytime is a great time to unplug and hike this park. The natural spring is never the same twice. All the bathhouses are very clean and spacious and the park staff are extremely resourceful and willing to help you have the best moments while in the park. I was one of the first participants in “The Wild Cave Tour” where they guided you over the rails of the Dripstone cave tour (I think) and into the depths of the Earth. 4 miles of head lamp lighting, crawling on hands and knees traversing the “Little Grand Canyon” and being promised ‘if you fall; we only came in with 8’: I somehow survived. The primitive camping, zero cell signal and the relaxing waters and top rate park crew keeps this this park timeless and inviting.

There is parking right ahead of the mirror lake falls that is left side and park there you will finding excellent fishing spots throughout the year and you can enter onto the mountains from the bridge if you straight you will find path to right of the perpendicular to the falls reach the end of it and you will see a opening use that you will get your own spot. Try also taking path next to parking which will lead to the old mill that is now abandoned. It has good view

Whimsical hiking trails for adults being accompanied by kids or if your out with friends there are harder trails to select. The views throughout are breath taking, and the wooden walkway so you can get close to the waterfall is awesome!! There’s a historic building that is in view as well as baby blue water to dip your feet in. The whole area has different hiking trails that follow the water of go up into the hills, if your a nature person you won’t be disappointed! I suggest hiking boots or durable running shoes for the trails ✌️

Cotter Trout Dock is a fantastic place to fish. This was my group’s second time there and it didn’t disappoint. Debbie and her team go out of their way to make sure you enjoy the experience. She loves to take photos so you will have memories of the trip. We fished two days with the second day highlighted by a shore lunch with fresh trout we caught in the morning. Greg, our guide was a pleasure to fish with. He is knowledgeable as to where to catch fish and what baits to use to catch them. We limited both days but caught and released many more. Overall a fantastic experience and I highly recommend Cotter Trout Dock.

Very friendly staff, great fishing guides, and excellent trout fishing on the White River! They have half or full day trips and they’ll even fry up a bunch of fish for lunch for you. I highly recommend this place.

Recognizing that fishing is a sport and that it may never be the same way twice, I have to let you know that this was an incredible experience. Mrs. Debbie was an amazing host, taking pictures and guiding us through the process. Eric was our guide and he kept us on fish all day, all within a mile of the dock so we didnt have to spend a bunch of time motoring to our fishing spot. We caught our limit of rainbow trout within the first 90 minutes and then switched to try and catch my father his first German Brown. We spent the rest of the day not only looking for Browns but actually catching them too! We managed to catch and release 7-8 Browns with Eric finding us a new spot whenever the fishing slowed down. It was a wonderful experience and one that we would love to repeat! 10/10 would suggest booking with Cotter Trout Dock!
