Santa Monica Bay is a renowned destination known for its beautiful beaches, bustling piers, and opportunities for fishing and surfing. The bay offers a unique perspective of the Los Angeles Basin, extending from Santa Monica Bay to downtown Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Mountains. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as walking, swimming, and playing volleyball on the expansive beach. Additionally, there are plenty of dining options available along with amusement rides at the pier.
I come from Greece and I am used to beautiful beaches and the sun. I did not expect to live this experience in LA though. The beach is really big, almost endless. The weather in March was hot enough to enjoy the ride and the walking but cold enough not to swim.

I live in Venice next to Muscle Beach, so I'm in the bay daily. Overall, it's really nice. It's very big and there's tons of sand. Rocks too on the edges, especially up north near Topanga. Go south and the inner edge into RPV is another planet. Back north and the hiking is world-class (with regard to day hikes). Probably never moving away from this bay. I love this bay so much. Sometimes it gets a little dirty, but we are working on that sorta.

Santa Monica Pier

Fishing pier
Sights & Landmarks
Santa Monica Pier is a must-visit destination in Los Angeles, offering a variety of shops, cafes, an amusement park, and an aquarium. While there's a fee for the famous Ferris wheel and other attractions at Pacific Park, simply strolling along the pier is free and highly recommended. It's an iconic spot that shouldn't be missed, especially since it's close to downtown Santa Monica and Venice Beach Boardwalk.
The Santa Monica Pier is an absolute must-visit! Such a fun mix of ocean views, entertainment, and that iconic California vibe. The Ferris wheel was the highlight—so much fun and the views from the top are just stunning, especially around sunset. 🎡🌅 Tip for visitors: definitely park in the big parking area directly at the beach. It’s super convenient and much more reasonable than the overpriced hotel parking options nearby. From there, it’s just a short walk to the pier. A perfect spot to enjoy the ocean breeze, grab a bite, and soak up the atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Da D — Google review
We can say we walked the pier. It was a bit busy and there were people fishing. Enjoyed seeing the sights looking out from the end of the pier. We didn't go to the amusement park but the kids would really enjoy it i'm sure. Lots of places to eat and drink there.
END A — Google review
The Santa Monica Pier is such an active and lively place — there’s always something going on! You’ll see people preaching the gospel, families grabbing food, crowds waiting in line for rides, and vendors selling everything from snacks to souvenirs. Toward the back of the pier, there’s even a store offering discounted Santa Monica merchandise, plus a restaurant that’s relatively affordable compared to other beachside spots. Before you even enter the pier, you’ll notice a cool boat and dragon display. When you step onto the boat and pedal, it makes mist come out of the dragon’s nose — super neat and a fun surprise for kids and adults alike! One thing to keep in mind: there are no foot-washing stations nearby. So if you spend time in the sand, just know your feet might stay sandy for a while. There’s also a workout area if you want to burn some energy or just enjoy the fun beach fitness vibes. Overall, this is definitely a full-day experience and a great spot for family fun. Lots to see, lots to do, and a classic California adventure! 🌊🎡🌴

The Heart of the California Coast! 🌴🎡🌊 Santa Monica Pier is one of those places that just never gets old. Every time I visit, it feels like a mini vacation the ocean breeze, the views, the lights, the music… everything about it gives that perfect California energy. The pier is beautifully maintained and super easy to get around. You can find everything right in one spot fun rides 🎢, games, great food, and of course, that breathtaking ocean view. The sunsets here are unreal watching the sky light up over the Pacific is something everyone should experience at least once. 🌅 What really stands out, though, is how welcoming the atmosphere is. The staff at the restaurants, shops, and attractions are always friendly and patient, even when it’s packed. You can tell the management keeps things running smoothly because the whole area feels organized and clean despite the constant crowd. There’s also something for everyone families, couples, solo travelers, or friends just hanging out. Whether you’re taking photos, grabbing funnel cake, riding the Ferris wheel, or just sitting by the water, it’s pure good vibes all around. Santa Monica Pier isn’t just a tourist stop it’s a full experience. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel happy and relaxed no matter how many times you’ve been. 🌊💙 Definitely a must visit when you’re in Los Angeles the energy here is unmatched! Santa Monica Pier was nice to see once, but nothing too special. It’s a classic boardwalk vibe, but if I had to choose between here and Rehoboth Beach boardwalk, I’d pick Rehoboth. We visited in November, so parking was easy and only $7. The water was cold, as expected that time of year, but it was still a beautiful, sunny day and a fun quick stop.

The Santa Monica Pier is one of Southern California’s most iconic coastal landmarks, offering a perfect blend of seaside fun, entertainment, and history. Extending into the Pacific Ocean at the end of Colorado Avenue, the pier features a lively amusement park with its famous solar-powered Ferris wheel, roller coaster, arcade, and classic carnival games. Visitors can enjoy oceanfront dining, street performances, and breathtaking sunset views over the water. Originally built in 1909, the pier has become a symbol of the laid-back California lifestyle and a must-visit destination for tourists and locals alike. With its vibrant atmosphere, ocean breezes, and timeless charm, the Santa Monica Pier captures the spirit of the Pacific coast.
Gnl M — Google review
Enjoyed a nice walk around the pier. Caught the walk before some rain, but that made for a cool breeze and minimal people. A few spots were open along rhe pier but nothing too exciting. All in all made for a good scenic view, a comfortable walk and a location visit checked off. Oh and apparently the seagulls dont mess around.... look at my picture of the seagulls ;p
Ryan S — Google review
Nice to walk around and lots of people from all backgrounds. We were entertained and were able to take lots of photos. Having Pacific Park in the pier was cool. We went there with an 8month old baby and found it a bit hard to navigate as pier itself is not pram-friendly and couldnt find any family rooms. If there were, I wish there was signage.

The 3.5-mile stretch is divided into North and South of the Pier for easy navigation. Families can enjoy mild surf, lifeguard stations, and ample restrooms. Additionally, paved pathways are perfect for walking, cycling, and rollerblading.
Beautiful beach with walking and biking trails. Parking was $15 and don’t worry if you forget a towel or umbrella bc there are vendor carts walking up and down beach with them for purchase. Restrooms were decent.

This beach is a nice and large beach with many tourist attractions along it's length like Muscle Beach and the Pier. It is often crowded, and if you dont come in from the bike path, parking is really tough. The views are nice though, and there is a bikeway along the entire length of the beach.
LC 4 — Google review
Beautiful ! Plenty of parking and. not free I paid $15 so....plan your trip Wisely. The beach is really nice and it's a little bit of a hike from the parking to waters edge. Come prepared to walk a bit. Also, choose your bike rental wisely too. I paid $95+ tax for a bike for a good 4hrs. Come to find out there were cheaper options.

Santa Monica State Beach is absolutely beautiful! The wide sandy shoreline, clean ocean water, and stunning views make it the perfect place to relax or take a walk. The atmosphere is lively yet peaceful, with plenty of space for everyone to enjoy. Watching the sunset here is unforgettable, and the nearby Santa Monica Pier adds extra charm. A must-visit spot if you’re in Los Angeles!
Timur M — Google review
A timeless, iconic beach with an urban backdrop. Not so much for the pristine waters and the seclusion, like, say, a beach on the south orange county coast, but more for the cosmopolitan panache that reflects what most visiting tourists might think of when they visualize Los Angeles. The drawbacks are its crowds, especially during summer, and now, the grime that has been an inevitable side effect of a metro light rail line that runs from downtown LA to the coast...
Patrick C — Google review
Santa Monica Pier and Beach offer the perfect blend of fun, relaxation, and stunning ocean views. The pier is lively with street performers, shops, and great spots for food and ice cream. The Ferris wheel ride gives a beautiful view of the coastline, especially during sunset. The beach is clean, wide, and great for walks, picnics, or just soaking up the California sun. Parking is convenient and there are plenty of nearby restaurants and attractions. Whether you’re a tourist or a local, Santa Monica Pier and Beach never disappoint — a must-visit spot for that true SoCal vibe!
Ramanathan R — Google review
I’ve lived in California most of my life, but finally took the time to spend a full Saturday at Santa Monica State Beach—and I gotta say, it’s got a lot going for it. The views are honestly hard to beat, especially if you get there a bit earlier before the crowd rolls in. I parked way down past the pier because, man, the parking lots right by the sand are pretty expensive and fill up fast. You’ll have a little walk, but I didn’t mind—actually kind of enjoyed checking out the local businesses on the way. Once I hit the sand, it was nice and clean, no trash around, and plenty of space to toss a frisbee or just chill. Brought my own towel and umbrella—recommend doing that because rentals are nuts. I ended up near a volleyball game for a bit, and the people playing were friendly enough to let me jump in for a round. Water was cold (like, freezing at first), but after the first thirty seconds you get used to it. I’m not a super swimmer, but the waves were manageable, and lifeguards were on point. Took a walk up to the pier, which is honestly worth the trip whether you’re first-timer or local. Tons of food stands and little shops—got a burger that was solid but overpriced, but so is everything around here. Roller coaster was fun, arcade is slightly run down but still gives you that old-school vibe. Ran into some street performers who were surprisingly legit, and ended up watching a skate demo near the boardwalk. Annoyances? For sure. Restrooms could use a serious deep clean, and if you’re like me and try to avoid public bathrooms, be prepared—most days they’re kind of gnarly by noon. Also, traffic out of Santa Monica at sunset was a joke. Took me 40 minutes to get onto the freeway. Would’ve been nice if cops helped direct more, since lots of folks just stand around blocking the crosswalks and it gets messy. Still, all things considered, it was a killer day. Beach, water, people-watching, and just hanging out with friends with the ocean right there—hard to complain. Deducting a star mainly for the parking and those restrooms but, honestly, I’ll be back. If you can roll with big crowds and keep your expectations set, Santa Monica State Beach delivers the classic SoCal experience.

Santa Monica State Beach is a true California gem – a perfect blend of natural beauty, classic seaside charm, and cultural history. Stretching over 3 miles along the Pacific Coast, this iconic beach has been a beloved destination for locals and visitors alike for over a century. Its history dates back to the early 20th century, when Santa Monica became a popular seaside retreat for Hollywood stars and Los Angeles residents looking for a break from city life. Over the years, it has become a symbol of the California beach lifestyle. The beach is wide, clean, and well-maintained, with soft sand and stunning views of the ocean. The famous Santa Monica Pier, built in 1909, adds a nostalgic charm with its vintage amusement park rides, small aquarium, shops, and restaurants. It’s also the historic endpoint of Route 66, making it a meaningful stop for road trip lovers. There are plenty of activities for everyone – biking, volleyball, paddleboarding, or simply relaxing by the waves. The beach paths are great for long walks, and the sunsets here are absolutely breathtaking. Whether you’re into beach fun, coastal views, or historic landmarks, Santa Monica State Beach offers an unforgettable experience. It’s more than just a beach – it’s a piece of California’s cultural and cinematic legacy.

Downtown Santa Monica is a vibrant and upscale district known for its posh shopping, dining, and entertainment options. The Third Street Promenade stands out as an open-air shopping area featuring upscale retailers, gourmet cafes, bakeries, and restaurants. This pedestrian-friendly business district also hosts a popular weekly farmers market. Additionally, the recent addition of the Metro Line at 4th Street and Colorado has improved connectivity to Los Angeles.
A fantastic experience overall—there’s so much to see and explore, with plenty of walking areas and fun spots that brought back great memories from the GTA game. The sunset view was beautiful, and there’s lots of space for kids to play. With a variety of music and food options, it was truly a fun and memorable visit.

Downtown Santa Monica, aka Third Street Promenade, is large open air mall a few blocks from the beach. Pre-pandemic I’d have given third street Promenade a five stars rating, however things have changed a lot over the last years and it is especially true for this place. Unlike a good wine, it aged pretty badly. Many stores are empty and the one opening their doors are somewhere between low quality merchandise’s and bad tourist souvenirs. A few restaurants and bars seem still to attract people. On my side, I still go there to check on the AMC which is often less crowded than other cinemas on the West side or to pass by the Apple Store or the Barnes and Nobles. There is a great potential for this open mall, however they need to do a better job attracting flagship stores and make it a true enjoyable experience.
Guillaume B — Google review
Still a cool place to visit once a year. They have human-size outdoor games (connect four and chess) and cool rotating? chairs. Still a tourist destination. **Many stores are permanently closed. Parking is much better than before and it's more pedestrian- and bike- friendly. Street performers are still a main attraction.
Yes P — Google review
Great vehicle, plenty of power across RPM range. Very stable despite the tall stature. Roomy enough unlike the American SUVs that drive like boats on wheels and can't corner at 40mph without leaning like pizza tower! Drives like a sedan, accelerates like a BMW 5 series, looks and feels luxurious. The only downside is that you really cannot and should not take it off-road. I mean maybe if you're desperate to try, you can drive it over a few puddles, but nothing more. This is not your Range Rover. It will get stuck like a dog, trust me.
S E — Google review
Downtown Santa Monica is a lively and beautiful place that has so much to offer. It’s perfect for shopping, dining, and just enjoying a walk. The Third Street Promenade is full of stores, street performers, and energy, making it a fun spot both during the day and at night. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes, offering everything from quick bites to nice sit-down meals. The atmosphere is friendly and vibrant, with a mix of locals and tourists, which makes it feel welcoming and exciting. One of the best parts is how close it is to the beach and Santa Monica Pier, so you can easily combine shopping with a relaxing ocean view. Parking is available but can be busy on weekends, so it’s good to plan ahead.

My favourite place in the world, im from the UK so coming here is so relaxing and live the beach ⛱️

So many stores have closed in this area and looks run down. The whole area stinks of urine and is being overrun by food trucks and make shift carts. No longer a fun family brick and mortar shopping area but more of a street vendor's surrounded by homelessness.

Specialty Museums
Nestled on a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the Getty Villa is an architectural marvel inspired by a 1st-century Italian villa. This museum in Malibu, designed by Richard Meier, boasts classical architecture and serene gardens. It houses an impressive collection of Greek and Roman antiquities, including marble statues, mosaic floors, and Etruscan artwork. Visitors can explore replicas of ancient Roman architecture and admire artifacts such as frescoes from Pompeii and a bronze statue of an athlete.
This is a magnificent space and worth the trip. The gardens are beautiful and the exhibits are spectacular. It is said that there his is the most richly endowed museum in earth and it shows. It is immaculate and extraordinarily well maintained. It would be easy to spend hours upon hours exploring the artwork, artifacts, and the grounds. This is a can’t-miss experience.
Pamela B — Google review
This is my first time visiting this beautiful museum. I'm happy they protected the museum from the recent wild fire. The artifacts were in exceptional condition. I think next time I attend a group or semi private tour. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. This is a place to relax outside and walk into the museum at your own leisure. It is so serene with the view of the Pacific Ocean in the background.

This place is unreal. The setting along PCH just east of Malibu close to the ocean is amazing. Went late September on a Thursday. Got there at 10 AM as they were opening and stayed a little over 1.5 hours. Parking was easy and $25. Admission is free so the overpriced parking didnt feel that bad. The museum is excellent and has lots of good Greek and Roman paintings, sculptures, and other artifacts. Had an Egyptian exhibit while I was there that was nice as well. But where this place shines IMO is in the building and the gardens. Impressive replica of an ancient Roman palace. So many details done right from the courtyards to the gardens to the galleries to the fountains. All amongst the back drop of the Pacific Ocean. Absolutely incredible. I didn't want to leave! Went to the Getty as well and thought this was even better, which speaks highly of this place. Was less crowded when I went compared to the Getty Center (went to both on same day).
Jimmer W — Google review
I first visited the Getty Villa back when it was called the J. Paul Getty Museum, during my freshman year of college. What struck me most was how it felt—like stepping into a wealthy person’s private home rather than a typical museum. The antiquities were displayed in this gorgeous villa setting with gardens and marble halls, all located on the Malibu cliffs. It had this eccentric quality that reflected J. Paul Getty’s personal vision and made ancient artifacts feel completely at home. Coming back decades later, I’m impressed by how they’ve improved the place while keeping that special atmosphere intact. The renovation back in the early 2000’s brought all the modern museum conveniences—better signage, clearer organization, smarter educational materials—without losing the villa’s charm. They’ve also made it more resilient against Malibu’s wildfire threats after the Palisades fire in early 2025. The best part is that it still has that quality where you feel like you’re actually in a different time, just with better amenities and a more thoughtful presentation. If you haven't been there since 2005, I would recommend you going back to see the differences and enjoy the fresh Malibu air. Bring others in your family to enjoy too.

The Getty Villa: An Ancient Roman Escape in Malibu The Getty Villa is arguably one of the most uniquely themed museums in the world. It is the perfect destination for anyone interested in Greek, Roman, and Etruscan antiquities, but the main draw for many visitors is the stunning environment itself. Modeled after the ancient Roman Villa dei Papiri in Herculaneum, the property transports you straight to the sun-drenched shores of the Mediterranean. The Architectural Experience (5/5 Stars) The architecture is the undisputed star of the show. The sprawling villa features magnificent courtyards, stunning mosaics, frescoes, and reflective pools that perfectly capture the essence of a first-century Roman estate. Walking through the Outer Peristyle with its 300-foot-long pool, surrounded by meticulously maintained gardens and bronze statues, is an experience in pure escapism. It’s hard to remember you are just off the Pacific Coast Highway in Los Angeles. While some critics view the detailed recreation as leaning toward "theme park," the sheer beauty and atmospheric quality of the design are compelling. The architecture is a powerful educational tool that provides context for the art housed within. The Collection and Exhibits (4/5 Stars) The collection is specialized, focusing exclusively on ancient Greek, Roman, and Etruscan art dating from 6,500 BC to AD 400. While the collection may not be as expansive as the world’s largest art institutions, its intimate focus allows for a deeper appreciation of the works. Highlights include beautiful black and red-figure vases, intricate jewelry, everyday household wares, and, most famously, a highly debated statue known as the Getty Kouros. The way the galleries are designed—often using natural light—allows the antiquities to be viewed beautifully, providing an immediate connection to the past. Gardens and Amenities The four distinct gardens—each styled after a different ancient Roman prototype—are delightful, offering tranquility and gorgeous photo opportunities. The Herb Garden is particularly fragrant and well-labeled. The museum is very visitor-friendly. General admission is always free (though a timed reservation is required), and the café offers reasonably priced and fresh food with a spectacular view of the amphitheater. The staff is knowledgeable and available for guided tours, which are highly recommended for understanding the context of the architecture and the art. Final Verdict The Getty Villa is more than a museum; it’s a beautifully realized piece of immersive architecture. It is an essential visit for anyone in the Los Angeles area, particularly those who appreciate ancient history, stunning views, and architectural grandeur. Plan to spend as much time outdoors enjoying the gardens and courtyards as you do inside the galleries. Tip: Book your free tickets well in advance, especially during peak season, and don't forget that parking requires a fee.
Shahrukh — Google review
Visiting the Getty Villa is like stepping into another era—the museum perfectly captures the elegance and grandeur of ancient Rome and Greece. Every gallery is a treasure trove of meticulously preserved artifacts, from intricate sculptures to everyday objects that bring the ancient world to life. The attention to detail in both the collections and the villa itself makes the experience immersive and unforgettable. Walking through the gardens, surrounded by classical architecture and stunning ocean views, adds another layer of awe. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, an art lover, or simply curious, the Getty Villa offers a journey through antiquity that feels both intimate and monumental. Truly one of the finest museums for experiencing the beauty and sophistication of ancient civilizations.

The Getty Villa in Santa Monica is one of the better day-adventures we have done in the greater Los Angeles area. The cafe has good Mediterranean food at a decent price (yes, they have beer and wine, too), and the photo opportunities here were endless! If you dig ancient history, architecture, and relaxing environments, this is should be on your bucket list.

I came to this museum during an unplanned short trip. You can reserve your visit date and time on the museum's website and get a free ticket. I went by car, so the only cost was parking. It was a very charming and cute museum. I enjoyed the sculptures and paintings, and the beautiful, carefully-decorated courtyard was amazing. It's also a great place to stop by and relax after enjoying Malibu Beach.

Hollywood Walk of Fame is a must see and I've had an excellent experience there. The stars of all the famous celebrities, films, actresses, actors, singers and more. It was crowded but I still had a really great experience. I would highly recommend going to this attraction.
Xavier A — Google review
Definitely needs to be cleaned. One of the areas that we stopped by was smelling like pee. The stars also looked like they were being maintained. It seems like the stars around the Chinese theater is well taken care of but the rest are ignored. Over it was trying to find the classic ones.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame is an iconic and unforgettable experience that beautifully captures the magic and legacy of the entertainment world. Strolling along Hollywood Boulevard, you’re surrounded by history — each star represents the achievements of legendary artists, actors, musicians, and filmmakers who have shaped global culture. The atmosphere is vibrant and full of life, with street performers, shops, and cafes adding to the excitement. It’s amazing to spot your favorite celebrities’ stars and take memorable photos along the way. The area is well-maintained and easy to explore, especially near the TCL Chinese Theatre and Dolby Theatre. Whether you’re a movie lover, a first-time visitor, or simply curious about Hollywood’s history, the Walk of Fame offers a fun, inspiring, and truly iconic experience. It’s a must-see attraction that celebrates the timeless spirit and creativity of the entertainment capital of the world.
LOUIE Y — Google review
The Hollywood Walk of Fame is definitely something worth seeing at least once! It’s fun spotting all the different stars and realizing how many famous names you recognize. There’s always a lot of energy, street performers, and interesting people watching, which makes it a unique experience. Parking can be a little tricky, especially on busy days or weekends, but if you’re patient you can usually find a spot in one of the nearby lots or side streets. I’d also recommend looking up the exact address of any specific celebrity’s star you want to see before you go — the Walk stretches for quite a few blocks, and this makes it much easier to find what you’re looking for. Overall, it’s a fun piece of Hollywood history and a great stop if you’re visiting LA!

Have been several times but just recently went for the first time in 17 years. Still as entertaining as ever. Especially people watching. Went to Hard Rock Cafe and had a couple martini’s, loved the ambiance

Los Angeles feels like a city stitched from sunlight and ambition. Walking along the Hollywood Walk of Fame, you can almost hear the stars beneath your feet whispering their old stories. The air smells of palms, ocean breeze, and something unmistakably cinematic. Everything here moves fast, loud, and full of restless energy — as if every corner dares you to dream bigger. LA isn’t perfect, but that’s part of its charm. It’s dazzling, gritty, creative, and endlessly alive — a place that doesn’t pretend to be anything other than itself.
Alana M — Google review
Unfortunately, the place is so run down. Filled with street vendors, litter, and souvenir shops. Has not been upkept well and has lost the gleam and shine of what Hollywood walk once used to be. Depressing. Give it a miss

It was amazing I seen stars from my childhood to 2Pac to today’s stars I found Luther Vandross. Be ready to walk, walking shoes is needed. They are bars along the way. You’ll find good parking on Vine St.

Museums
Perched atop Mount Hollywood, Griffith Observatory is a stunning art deco landmark dating back to 1935. It offers breathtaking city views and is a popular spot for both locals and visitors. The observatory boasts a high-tech planetarium and provides public telescopes for stargazing. It's also famous for its appearance in the award-winning film La La Land. Additionally, visitors can enjoy hiking trails leading to the observatory, with opportunities to witness panoramic vistas of downtown Los Angeles and Santa Monica.
Wow, this place is a must-visit! The views across LA are spectacular, and the inside is packed with fascinating information about the planets. We arrived early afternoon and found the place to be quite busy, but it was still spacious enough to feel comfortable. We opted for the bus up, as it was the most convenient and free option. You can also walk up if you prefer. One of the highlights of the observatory is the breathtaking view of the Hollywood sign. You could easily spend a day or afternoon exploring the exhibits and learning about the cosmos. My favourite part was seeing an actual piece of moon rock!
Bob G — Google review
An absolute must-see in LA! We visited on a clear weekday afternoon and it was an unforgettable experience. The views of the Hollywood Sign and the sprawling LA basin are simply breathtaking, definitely bring your camera! We explored the free exhibits inside which were both fun and educational, perfect for all ages. But the real highlight was staying until sunset. Watching the city lights begin to twinkle on as the sky turned orange was pure magic. The atmosphere was so peaceful, with everyone just soaking in the incredible scenery. The best part? Admission to the grounds and exhibits is free, which is amazing for a landmark of this caliber. Parking can be a bit tricky, but it's absolutely worth the effort, you can also choose public transit to get there! Whether you're a tourist or a local, the Griffith Observatory offers a perfect blend of science, nature, and iconic views. A true Los Angeles gem!
Diddy L — Google review
The view was beautiful from the roof of the observatory. You can see the whole city of Los Angeles as well as the Hollywood sign on the mountain. There is a telescope structure that you can carry in with no charge. You can see the telescope inside, and the roof of that telescope structure can spin, so the telescope goes through the whole roof, which is really cool. I would suggest walking around the rooftop and having a good look at that mountain and also the city from above. The weather is good. You can also see the downtown Los Angeles from far away. Transportation is simple. You can either drive there and pay $10 for car parking, or take a bus.
Nan L — Google review
I visited the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, and it was an incredible experience! The view from the terrace is absolutely stunning — you can see the entire city skyline, the Hollywood Sign, and on a clear night, a sky full of stars. Inside, the giant pendulum is mesmerizing to watch as it marks the Earth’s rotation, and the telescopes are a real highlight — especially the public telescope on the rooftop, where you can see the moon and planets up close. The exhibits are fascinating, the atmosphere is inspiring, and the sunset view is unforgettable. A must-visit landmark for anyone exploring LA!

After living in LA for 9+ years I've finally decided to go inside this building. I had always view this place as a tourist trap; was I right? Yes. But it has its charms. The view of La is amazing. This place is filled with international tourists. The line to the main telescope is very long and may or may not worth the wait. The parking situation during peak is incredibly bad. Highly recommend to park below and hike up if you don't mind a bit exercise. Great place to take a date.
Wa W — Google review
In my almost 7 years of living here in SoCal (moved from Florida in March of 2019), I've had the pleasure of witnessing the splendor of this great Observatory in person several times (at least 3 or 4 times). If it's your first time checking it out, your best bet is to undertake the Ferndell Nature Trail (you can Google Map that name, or you can also put 2333 Fern Dell Dr, Hollywood, CA and you should be able to have the precise address on where to drive to). Entering Griffith Park from the south corner of Los Feliz Blvd and Fern Dell Drive will give you plenty of street parking options. Then the actual trail is about 1/4 of a mile up (sloped on certain areas) and 1/4 of a LOT EASIER mile down (sloped down, so gravity helps a lot). Griffith Observatory has a lot of free Exhibits, including the Foucault pendulum, a Tesla Coil, and several Halls displaying how telescopes work, how they have progressed over the years, technology-wise, and lots of exhibits about celestial skies. It's an incredibly rich and fulfilling experience, especially if you have family in town and want to show them one of the highlights of L.A. This observatory was also featured in Rebel Without A Cause, so a bust in honor of James Dean is on the West side of the observatory. 10/10 experience. Will definitely be back.

We were visiting LA for the first time this summer and this was on our list of main attractions. Some say the views are what makes this place a destination to visit, I would say its because of GTA V. Anyways, glad we came, super busy and packed (as expected). We visited towards the evening to catch the sunset. Parking can definitely be a hassle but we got lucky and found a spot in the parking located at this location. We werent sure if food was allowed but it appears people take food an have picnics. Not sure if thats allowed or they just don't tell you anything (and it's not allowed). Anyways, recommend coming here if you are a tourist, and locals should be proud they have such nice locations to go on a date or simply to catch views of the city.
Cristian V — Google review
It was amazing place for adults and children. And free!!! You will see very much model sytem related with universe such as seasons, solar sytem order and their speed… Btw you can see a real telescope at the roof but you will probably wait al least 20-30 min. And of the story you can see amazing LA view at night. Some exhibits need extra payment but most of the area visiting is free. You give at least half day for this place.

Point Dume is a serene coastal area in Malibu, offering picturesque trails and rocky coves with stunning views of Santa Catalina Island. The Koenig Beach House, an architectural gem by renowned architect Pierre Koenig, sits on Lechuza Point and provides breathtaking ocean and coastline views. This eco-friendly home features walls of glass for abundant natural light, seamless indoor-outdoor living spaces, an oversized spa with ocean views, and solar-powered smart home technology.
I visited this area many years ago and although a lot has changed in Malibu, I love this park. The park is very well preserved and maintained and the views are stunning. The only issue is the parking is very limited and I am not sure how well others follow the two hour parking time limit but since there were two of us we were able to takes turns and not use the on-site parking. I highly recommend and recommend going early to beat the crowd😁
Scott B — Google review
We arrived at Point Dume parking lot at 7:30 pm, plenty of parking spaces available, paid $3 at the prepaid ticket paying station. There were a lot of photo shootings right at the cliffs, the sunset was beautiful and unforgettable, we even saw some whales passing by. It took us about 10 minutes easy hike to get on top of the cliff. WOW! The panorama of the pacific ocean and the sunset was the best I have ever seen, come experience it yourself!

What a great experience.I went there thinking small it ended up being big. I got some great pictures of the surfers.Be prepared to walk down and up a lot of stairs. After that I took the little hike. And got to see a bunch of seals. That was a surprise. Then Just on the other side was a public beach. It was really nice.I was able to sit on the cliff and just people watch for a little.

A go to place for a unique and pleasant walk in one of Southern California's treasures. The parking sucks, very limited, and there are time restrictions, but you can get lucky much of the time. The loop trail is very scenic but not too strenuous, and you can take in the whole sight seeing experience within the time constraints of the parking limits. I highly recommend...
John P — Google review
This is a very short but beautiful hike. The hardest part is actually getting a parking spot. The hike takes no longer than a half hour out and back. The views at the top of Point Dume and along the trail are outstanding!

One of my favorite parts of Malibu. I sat at the top of one of the cliffs for an hour or so and saw a sea lion calling and sunbathing on a rock, two dolphins, and what looked to be orcas jumping off in the distance. Beautiful views, I highly suggest coming. Not really safe for young children though, because parts are just straight down without fencing or anything. For parking, you probably won't find space at the top, but just go to westward beach, its just $8 at modern parking when I went, then head south to the end of the beach and you can hike point dume from the bottom, which I highly suggest.
Valerie W — Google review
Great beach with fantastic views. Likely to be less crowded during the day, especially on weekdays. Make sure to catch the sunset from here. This is a wonderful and romantic spot.
Klaus — Google review
Amazing idea for a date or trip with the family! Definitely enjoyed my trip with my girlfriend, enjoyed it overall and had a great time especially if you wonder just a little behind the security wires going right from the overlook you come across a trail although make sure to watch your step. But you are rewarded with a nice view of the ocean!! Although parking is very poor.. I would recommend parking in the street, as people who end up parking on handicap or just on the curb illegally may face a ticket, the volunteer sheriffs patrol. I got there on Monday around 3pm left around 5pm and swung back and saw the sheriff taking pictures of plates of illegally parked vehicles at 5:30ish pm. Although I would recommend parking wherever you can find a parking, but take that at your own risk!

I love walking this trail, but bring plenty of water, a hat, and sunglasses, and remember to take breaks if starting from the bottom to walk up. It's a great view, but holy guacamole it creeps up on you as there are steep inclines. Wear good walking shoes that have good grip. When you reach the top, enjoy lunch at the cafe' its a well deserved treat.

This Observatory is absolutely fascinating, educational and it's a wonderful experience. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the atmosphere is so relaxing as you take on the views of Los Angeles outside and learn so much inside. It's a great trip for couples, families, hikers, and bikers. More than one visit will be necessary to be amazed.

Griffith Observatory offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Los Angeles night skyline. My wife especially loved it since it’s one of the iconic filming locations from La La Land, which made the visit even more special. Even on weekdays, it gets quite crowded, so it’s best to arrive early if you want to find parking easily. ✨ A must-visit spot in LA, especially for movie lovers and night-view enthusiasts!

A nice place where you can see the Hollywood sign and a enjoy a beautiful view. When we went it was early so the observatory was closed to public. If you do not want to pay $10 per hour, park at the bottom of the hill and just walk if you are able to. It will serve as exercise with breathtaking views.

Ain't no other Observatory in the world like it. I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Make sure, if you want to see the sunset, GET HERE EARLY! MOST OTHER TOURISTS AND LOCALS WILL BE THERE TOO! Best way to get there, just use an Uber! ( easiest way ). We loved it; wish that it wasnt a 12 hour flight away 🇳🇿. Will, from Auckland, New Zealand.

Great park, I’ve been here only a couple of times so far, once biking, once for a short hike from the observatory towards a Hollywood sign. Great views, but the trail is quite exposed to sun, so we didn’t go far. We’ve seen mini-tornado - cool.

It’s a great idea to park down below and enjoy a nice hike up — the trails are well-maintained and give you plenty of chances to take in the amazing landscape. Worth the hike to the top. Park in the neighborhood near the innsdale drive trail and walk from that direction. Went on a weekday and lots of space to park. Hike is fairly steep but not difficult and worth it for the views and pictures!

I took these photos from the side of the Griffith Observatory. My zoom isn’t the best 😬. Staying till after sunset, I don’t know why but I thought the sign illuminated - it didn’t. It would be good to see it glow, even if just for a short period of time. I am not sure if you can get nearer but google maps gave me this location. Enjoy. The Griffin Observatory is a nice site and park walkway. 💫

Love the Hollywood Sign. The view was amazing.. 🫶🏼 Just make sure you parked your car before you arrive your destination. Because it hard to find parking when you get closer to the sing. Also make sure you wear comfortable shoes 🥲😃 You will need to walk a little bit

The Hollywood Sign is definitely a must-see when you’re in LA! It’s such an iconic spot, and seeing it up close feels unreal. I walked all the way to Lake Hollywood Park, which is an easier route it took me around 40 minutes, and it was totally worth it. Free parking can be hard to find. The only option for free parking is on the street, and you’ll likely need to arrive outside of peak hours to secure a spot. The beach itself is clean, less crowded, and generally peaceful—especially compared to Santa Monica. Public restrooms are available, but there are no public washing areas. Be prepared to share the beach with plenty of seagulls, which are a common sight here.

We spent Father’s Day at Zuma Beach with friends, and it couldn’t have been better. Clean sand, beautiful views, and plenty of space to spread out even on a busy day. The water was perfect for wading and boogie boarding, and the lifeguards were super attentive. Parking was easy and close to the sand, which made hauling gear and coolers a breeze. Just an all-around perfect SoCal beach day. Highly recommend Zuma for families, friend groups, or anyone looking to enjoy the coast.

After many years in California, Zuma Beach still tops my son and I list of favorite surf spots — best enjoyed off-peak, of course: Monday to Friday, outside holidays, and early mornings before the crowds wake up. This is Malibu at its purest — long golden stretches of sand, clean waves, and that endless Pacific view that makes weekday emails feel like a bad dream. Surf’s great midweek when it’s mostly locals and dolphins sharing the lineup. Yes, it’s definitely not rare to surf among dolphins, great and unforgettable experience that you never get bored of. Weekends? A bit of a scene — come early or embrace the parking safari. Personally I avoid it as much as I can, if I can. Pro tip: pack snacks, wax up, and stick around long enough to watch the sun turn the whole beach into liquid gold

The Los Angeles Zoo, established in 1966, is not only home to over 270 animal species but also boasts a stunning collection of more than 800 plant species. Since its certification as a botanical garden in 2003, the zoo has curated 15 different collections of plants from around the world. These collections are organized by their native locations and matched with various regions within the zoo, creating an immersive experience for visitors.
My daughter and I went on November 15, 2025 for Zoo Lights. We almost had the entire zoo to ourselves because of the rain. The displays were fantastic.
Douglas L — Google review
The Zoo was good in general but I only give it 4 stars because a lot of the exhibits were closed, either without any reason or for renovation. Sadly the elephants are also at another Zoo for the time being, so you won't be able to see any. Other than that I had a good time and it's worth visiting considering the price is also pretty low. Try to arrive as early as possible as it is very big and you will need a lot of time to properly visit everything.
Sebastian B — Google review
I went here on a great day, and it wasn't crowded. There were lots of animal exhibits but the one that I liked the most was the two chimpanzees who recently had babies and were nursing their babies. The zoo was clean and easy to navigate through. Some of the plants could have been in better shape. I had no idea that the zoo was also a botanical garden with over 800 kinds of plants. Parking was free and plentiful. I would recommend the zoo to anyone who enjoys animals and the outdoors. I will definitely be back.

We love going to the Los Angeles Zoo. We go at least 4 days a week. Its a great place to get your steps in while soaking in the beautiful and amazing animals. It's a treat for the senses! Come meet the 2 adorable newborn baby Chimpanzees that are about 1 month old and check out the Meerkat that's always ready to greet you. The only down side is that a lot of animal exhibits are closed due to budget cuts. With our continued support, we can help the zoo welcome back lions, elephants, and so much more. Hope to see you there!
Family M — Google review
There is one too many exhibits closed that’s the only reason I’m giving four stars, most of the food courts weren’t even open and I was there from 10 to 12 on a Thursday. But it was my first time at the zoo and I really enjoyed looking at all the beautiful animals. My husband took me there for our anniversary ❤️

The animals look extremely healthy and very cared for. However, I couldn't help but feel bad. I noticed that some of them looked very sad. Although it broke my heart, I still captured some very cute moments. Some of the exhibits here were pretty empty as well. I didn't see any of the koala's or elephants. Overall, I'm very happy that I got to experience this.

Universal Studios Hollywood is a sprawling amusement park in Los Angeles, known as The Entertainment Capital of L.A. It offers a unique cinema-themed experience with rides, restaurants, shops, and shows. Visitors can explore movie sets and enjoy attractions like Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, King Kong 360 3-D Studio Tour, Transformers: The Ride-3D, The Simpsons Ride, Revenge of the Mummy, and Jurassic Park - The Ride.
So much fun. We're usually a Disney family but have wanted to visit Universal for a while and finally got our chance. It was actually quite a welcome change from the crowds of Disneyland. It would get very busy of an afternoon, mainly because we visited on Halloween horror nights and the crowds would arrive for that, but we managed to ride everything and were able to time it so we had less than half an hour waits for everything. We will definitely return to Universal again.

We went on a Sunday in late October. There were minimal lines to get on the rides and the weather was nice and cool. Got to ride all of the rides, enjoy the studio tour, have lunch, a few snacks, and enjoy our time together. We definitely will be back. Keep in mind that the park closes early during the Hollywood Horror Night season & that is a separate entrance fee.

PERFECT 2-Day Weekday Trip - We Did It ALL! Just got back from a fantastic 2-day trip to Universal Studios, and going on a weekday was the absolute best decision! The crowds were so much more manageable than on weekends. We were able to ride every single major attraction, some of them even two or three times without breaking a sweat. The attention to detail here is incredible. From the Wizarding World of Harry Potter (butterbeer is a must-try!) to the mind-blowing Studio Tour and the intense Jurassic World ride, every area was immersive and so much fun. The new Super Nintendo World is a total game-changer, it feels like you've literally jumped into the video game. If you can swing it, I 100% recommend the 2-day weekday strategy. It felt relaxed, we saw everything we wanted, and it was worth every single penny. An unforgettable experience!
Diddy L — Google review
It was great! We purchased the daily express pass, and within 6 hours, we completed all the rides, including the studio tour. We were a group of four, and we had a blast. We went on a Saturday. The park was not really busy, and the weather was fantastic (74°F). Even the parking was easy; we parked in the general parking area, which cost $35, and the walking distance was not bad. Of course, the whole cost of the day was high, but we had a lot of fun and no regrets.

The only downsides are the long lines during peak hours and the higher prices for food and drinks, which can add up quickly. Even so, the overall experience is fantastic. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is lively, and the park offers something for all ages.

Amazing place for a full day of fun! The rides, shows, and movie sets are exciting and entertaining for all ages. The staff is friendly, the park is clean, and every visit feels like a new adventure. Highly recommend for families and tourists!

A great park. A lot of fun to visit. The wizarding world is fun if you're into Harry Potter, and the whole park has some great rides. My son loved Nintendo world. He had a great time on the Mario Kart ride, and we got him a power band so he could play all the interactive stuff. I really enjoyed the backlot tour, and seeing some of the sets and locations from Hollywood History. Overall, this was a one-day park for our family. We had a fun day, and we enjoyed it, but more than one day would have been too much. Be warned that you should check the hours before you visit. Some days it opens at 8, some days it opens at 10.

This place has grown since i last visited and all for the better. So worth the price of admission and can't wait to go back. The Simpsons, Harry Potter, Nintendo, Transformers, Jurassic World; where can ya go wrong? Harry Potter and Nintendo was the highlights attractions and loads of time could be spend there. Can't wait to see the new coaster in play, looks amazing!

El Matador State Beach is a hidden gem nestled along the stunning Malibu coastline, featuring three charming cliff-foot beaches that are particularly popular during the summer months. This picturesque spot is renowned for its breathtaking rock formations and natural arches, making it a favorite among photographers and filmmakers seeking to capture its beauty at sunrise and sunset. The beach gained fame as the backdrop for an iconic scene in 'The Notebook,' where romantic moments unfold against Malibu's majestic coastal bluffs.
El Matador State Beach is very beautiful especially if you come on a day that the weather is nice. The parking lot is limited but if you come early or just lucky then you might find a spot. The walk down to the beach is not bad and the rocks layout there are beautiful. We came this morning to take our maternity pictures and it was amazing.
Peter X — Google review
recently did a photoshoot at El Matador Beach in Malibu, and it was nothing short of breathtaking. This hidden gem offers dramatic cliffs, sea caves, and unique rock formations that make every shot feel cinematic. The natural light at golden hour was absolutely magical soft, warm, and perfect for capturing that dreamy, coastal aesthetic. The beach has a romantic, almost untouched feel to it, which added an organic, peaceful vibe to the shoot. Whether you’re aiming for editorial, lifestyle, engagement, or creative content, El Matador is an ideal backdrop. Just a heads-up: there’s a steep trail and stairs to get down to the sand, so wear comfortable shoes and travel light. Overall, El Matador Beach brought so much life and depth to my photos. I’d definitely go there again.
Kimberly L — Google review
Only cost $10 to park. A lifeguard is on duty on the hill and can be down to you in a minute! The rock formations are so cool. One looks like an elephant!

El Matador State Beach is breathtaking! We came at sunset and the views were unforgettable—dramatic cliffs, sea caves, and golden light. It’s a bit of a walk down, but totally worth it. Perfect for photos, picnics, or just relaxing. Must-visit spot!

This beach is particularly visit for photo sessions, it has rock area that simulates like a cave. Unfortunately was so pack that I couldn't take a good Pic this time. Parking lot available at entrance is $3 x hour, automatic machine available to pay. Easy access to the beach and beautiful scenic views, worth the drive.
Edith G — Google review
Beautiful beach with convenient parking. The views at sunset were amazing. Be warned that the parking lot closes at sunset and they start to close the gate before that to stop people coming in.
Tristan D — Google review
A surprising gem snuck in the base of the cliffs. Really crowded, but what beach in So. Cal. isn't? We were able to employ one of the tidal caves for a shaddy spot to play 5 Crowns and enjoy the afternoon. There lots of people taking pictures of people, so it must be a beautiful beach.

Peaceful beach that I'm looking forward visiting again. You have to be careful while walking down the old wooden stairs, but it's worth the effort!

The Commons at Calabasas is an open-air plaza that offers a European-style setting with a variety of shopping, dining, and entertainment options. It features high-end retail stores such as Williams & Sonoma, Sephora, and LuluLemon. The center is known for its well-maintained design and ample parking space. Visitors can enjoy browsing through upscale shops like Rolex and jewelry stores while also taking in the serene pond area with turtles.
Nice discovery on our way back from a soccer game in Agura Hills. This rococo style open-air mall is charming and propose many dinning option from Porta Via to Marmelade Cafe, you will find some nice options. Shopping wise we only stopped by Barnes and Nobles, that offer a large location within this mall.

Nice outdoor mall area with high end restaurants. Tesla chargers on site but super crowded. They have pricy designer fountains. Very cute. Lovely place to have Sunday brunch.

Just beautiful. An elegant place to spend your time and your dollars. THE COMMONS OF CALABASAS is what the Southern California dream is all about: magnificent high-end specially shops, a movie theater, comfortable dining under umbrellas or if you rather, in air conditioned comfort, there's even a See's candy shop, and a Ralph's grocery store. STUFF: Plenty of no-charge parking in the easy access tree lined lot.
Cary B — Google review
It's a very large upscale mall. Several nice places to eat. One of the biggest Barns and Noble stores I've ever seen! It also has a large multiplex theater. It's a really nice area to wander around and shop. Easy parking and a wide variety of restaurants.

This place is filled with fancy restaurants, bars, cafes, and stores. It's a great spot for hanging out with friends and family, and there is plenty of free parking. Overall, it's a good place to spend leisure time.
Behnam M — Google review
In a nutshell, Calabasas Commons is one of the best outdoor shopping centers I’ve ever visited. This is gonna be a long review so buckle up: Driving in, I was pleased with the ease of parking. Though I came in on a Sunday, so I’m not sure how it is on other days like a Friday, Saturday, or holiday. The place was clean with mostly high end shops like Lululemon, Rolex, and some jewelry shop with two armed guards standing by the doors. There was also a nice pond area with turtles to look at. A couple statues to take pics with. The music they play from outdoor speakers was my kind of music: nice and jazzy. My first place to visit at the Commons was… Barnes and Noble: This was on the more larger scale of stores with a wide variety of books, movies, comics, what have you. The cafe had a lot of tables for customers and a lot of chairs both on the ground floor and upstairs. This B&N exuded grandiose vibes and everything appeared well-organized. After grabbing a couple of books from B&N, I popped into… La La Land cafe: Never heard of this place. Never been to it either. But, walking in, I was assured of how popular it seemed. There was a line to the door and a lot of guests waiting for their lattes/drinks. The decor was trendy with a large chandelier and two comfy white couches. Not the most clean place though as the trash can was overflowing with a few bits littered on the ground. The line moves pretty quick though, and getting my iced latte even quicker. It was really good. I enjoyed my latte. The cup was weird though. Like drinking out of a sippy cup almost. And the yellow design of everything was a little much. After my latte, though, I purchased a ticket to Regency Theaters: This was by far the most surprising aspect of my visit here. As an AMC stan, I’m wary of visiting other theater chains. This one though, blew me away. Walking in, I was stunned by the elaborate decor. It was like Caesar’s Palace for movies. The staff were super dressed up and greeted me as I walked in. It was super slow with barely anyone in, though, so don’t expect the same on a busy night. Now, looks can be deceiving. You can have elegant elements to your theater but still be subpar in the things that count: seat comfortability, audio, and movie picture qualities. Thankfully, this Regency, though no IMAX or Dolby, delivered. With six auditoriums, all the seats were big and comfy recliners with a small swing table for your foot. Audio and picture quality was on par. But the best part? 10 minute trailers!! In a world where every theater runs nearly half an hour of commercials and trailers, this theater broke from the mold and shaved down that time by a third. Was it a fluke or the norm? I don’t know. A second visit will determine that but as a first timer, it was so nice to sit through only ten minutes of trailers and then on with the movie. After watching at Regency, I ended my night at… King Fish: Nothing much to report here. My meal was good. Service was as well mannered as any restaurant. And the food was good. It was a nice end to my half-day venture at Calabasas Commons. In summary, I will definitely visit the Commons again. I didn’t have high expectations but I did have a very enjoyable time. As for any critiques I guess it would be that nearly all the shoppers here are “Richie Rich”. Take from that what you will. But they’re the type that probably own at least two Teslas and can buy out a Lululemon shop if they wanted to. But as a poor kid, it was nice to rub shoulders with bourgeoise. A lot of young folks here too. They don’t cause much of a ruckus as most kids do, but it’s something to note. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here and I can’t wait to return. Grade: A

I love this place. It's always well decorated. Nice variety of restaurants and stones, from fancy like SUGARFISH to fast food like Pick up Stix. Having a Ralph's and Rite Aid makes it even more convenient place to spent time and shop. Recently adding Tesla Superchargers makes it the optimal place for Tesla owners to charge, shop and dine.

CAFSoCal - Commemorative Air Force So Cal Wing is a hidden gem in Ventura County, dedicated to preserving the history of combat aircraft flown by all US military services. The facility offers vintage aircraft, military artifacts, warbird rides, and air shows. Visitors can witness volunteers working on aircraft restoration and enjoy personalized tours by enthusiastic team members who are passionate about their subject.
Commemorative Air Force - CAF Wing, Camarillo is a great place for vintage aircraft enthusiasts for WW2 / Vietnam periods in aviation history. They've a terrific walk-through museum/exhibits in their hangers. Knowledgeable and friendly docents. Check em out on website and socials. Only open weekends, Fri, Sat. Sun. $10 per person.

They have some amazing aircraft and it’s a nice facility. The folks are great there as well. You will see classic aircraft here that you will see. No place else on earth. Worth a visit for sure.
J W — Google review
This aircraft museum is fantastic. The exhibits are distributed through three or four hangers, and the first hanger is self guided, but all other hangers require a guide or docent to accompany you. Many of the aircraft are in flying condition and I missed the flying exhibition by one day, when more than half the aircraft on display were out on the airfield in exhibition and flight with passenger rides available for a donation.

I went to the Camarillo Air Show and had the chance to visit the CAF SoCal Commemorative Air Force. I took a tour of the C-46 “China Doll” plane, and it was such a wonderful experience. Learning about its history and seeing it up close was truly amazing!
Saramay B — Google review
This museum is part of a larger group of museums preserving aircraft that are still flying. This site has a great collection of planes, including a Marines Corp spec B25, zero fighter, and F4F Hellcat, to name a few. The museum covers a large portion of the airport. The three large hangers are accessible as part of the tour the museum leads. Hanger two has a bear cat fighter under restoration presently, so it is not available for viewing on our visit. The staff here was very accommodating to the kids and letting them take pictures of the planes. Our docent Don was great and gave a unique tour of the hangers.
Adam C — Google review
Hidden gem of history, showcasing the unbelievable craftsmanship of historical aircrafts! Alongside them, docents providing a wealth of knowledge! 3 hangars filled with aircraft’s, several aligned outside, and a very neat feature that many of them are enterable. We certainly plan on returning to take advantage of a private ride in one of them and to attend one of the many events that frequently occur here!
Braedyn B — Google review
This place is surprisingly large. Make sure you get a guide so you can see the 2 other hangars. 5/5 👍

If you wanna go see fireworks 4 of July definitely go to Camary premium outlets. With no charge . You can just park at the parking lot and tune into the radio to listen to their show. This year was absolutely wonderful. We were able to enjoy from the comfort of our car fireworks.

It’s a pretty nice outdoor outlet mall with a good mix of stores to shop from, even though a few have moved out recently. The food court isn’t anything to get excited about, but luckily there are better spots to eat nearby like Finney’s and a couple of other restaurants. It’s a good place to walk around, especially on a nice day, and you can usually find some decent deals too.

It’s really hard to find parking on the weekends. They need more maps. This place is huge. And they keep adding on all the time. Bring water and sunscreen screen. Stay for the day. We had lunch at. Nice restaurant that serves Pancakes all day. We had a salad it was huge. We split it my grandson had a burger n Fries . Look so good !! Go during the week if you can. That’s what we did. Found lots of parking 😎😊👍

What an amazing outlet mall in the middle of farmlands! The stores brand names have some really great prices that cannot be beat and some of the best trendy selections.. This place was like brand new super clean thanks to some of the cleaning crew especially LaTonya she did such an amazing job. Also, the gallery Bird Dog Arts is a must see Local Artists Museum and the owner has this cute little cat named Turkey. If you want somewhere new to try this is a must place to visit. Right near the Grapevine on the 5 and in the middle of California. Right now there are doing a lot of construction so no food court yet, but can’t wait to see what they got in store! I’m sorry I don’t have many variety of pictures everyone…🥸😎🥸

A little walk from the truck stop, many things to see and prices are not bad. If you want a good meal instead of fast food. There is a black 🐻 dinner next store that has many good dishes and pies. Got to try the pie.

Outlets at Tejon will always beat going to the mall any day for us . Clean areas, clean stores, and best of all clean restrooms. There are family restrooms! Great feature for families with multiple little ones. Many great stores and great food! So many options and all in one place.

This place is big! So you will need very comfy shoes and a lot of patience. They have almost everything you'll need for personal us or for gifts. From 50% - 70% off on some items. From bags, to shoes, to shirts, and even kitchenware. There are clean restrooms around the outlet. And they have a few food places you can get a bite at, from a food truck parked by the entrance, to Auntie Anne's, Cinnabon, and Subway. Overall, I would highly recommend visiting this place for some affordable finds and bundle promo stuff.

Came from Fresno and making our way to LA, we stop by here to get some stretch and rest. It’s a unique outlet the way the store is presented. The mall isn’t as big as the other outlet. However, it has all the store that you may need and want to visit. We came here at a weekday afternoon and it was quite empty and there’s a few good deals to be found at the time. I suggest to visit this if you have time or it’s part on your way to be somewhere.

Oasis in the desert? To me it was. Many shops, clean restrooms, and a good place to walk around to take a break.

We took a ride from LA to SF and stopped by this outlet mall on our way. Pretty big one and decent. Good deals all over the shops
Fonouvdior — Google review
The Outlets at Tejon offers a clean and inviting outdoor shopping experience, complete with a basic yet satisfying variety of stores. Its open-air setting is a breath of fresh air for shoppers tired of the traditional mall atmosphere. However, the mall does fall short when it comes to restroom cleanliness, an area that could use some attention. Additionally, the layout is quite spread out, requiring a good amount of walking to get from one end to the other. Conveniently, it also includes a supercharging station for electric vehicles, making it a practical stop for more than just shopping. Overall, a solid 4/5 experience.

The farm also features seasonal events and a variety of farm activities suitable for the whole family. Visitors can enjoy picking their own fruits and vegetables or shop at the organic store for fresh produce.
This place was awesome!!! We got to pick our blackberries, they are delicious. We had lunch, a combo for $11.99 that consisted of a homemade pot pie, (a generous helping) mac and cheese, and a drink. The store has a lot of fruits, candy, and fun. Also, there are different birds and some farm animals. Definitely will go back.

Not a petting zoo or anything even remotely close, at least in August when we went. But you can see some typical farm fowl and goats through a fence by the parking lot. The store though was amazing. Awesome homemade, farm-fresh goods at reasonable prices. Plenty of places to sit inside and outside, and the workers were polite, knowledgeable, and quick. Bought some hot pistachios and some organic treats.

Stopped because I saw the signs as I approached heading up 58. Glad I did. I enjoyed the unique citrus fruit offered as well as the apples and other fruits and neat treats of all kinds. Prices are good as well. I don't usually like grapefruit but enjoyed the Oro Blanco. Mild. Juicy. Good. Would definitely recommend a stop.

I haven't had a chance to do the U-pick yet, but I've always had good service whenever I come through. Their savory okie pies are a delight and never miss. I only tried the apple pie once but it's a touch on the sweet side so I'd give that particular pie a 4.5/5 but a 5/5 on everything else. This is the first time I've tried the fruit and it was all delicious. The cherries are sweet and tart and the strawberries are plump and juicy. I definitely recommend buying anything that's in season because it is all good.

Lots of activities for all ages. We went during October where you recieve a free pumpkin with purchase of the wrist bands. My only suggestion would be to have some kind of help getting the pumkin back to the car. There was 4 of us and trying to carry 4 pumkins was rough..flat carts would have been a great feature..my son enjoyed the giant pillow!

Its green with yellow flowers and says mellow yellow. Love. Bought jam to hive our fam (we are on a road trip). Try the red sangria too. So so so good. Plenty of rooms for campers, trucks, rvs to turn around too. We had our dogs and it was fine. They had a lot of homemade food too.

Didn't expect to go to this venue but didn't read the preseason details correctly that the LA Kings preseason game against the Anaheim Ducks was being played here. Pleasant venue. Nothing outstanding but equally nothing that was a negative. Managed to find some free parking based on others descriptions of where to park. Can't imagine I'll ever be back in this part of the world, but if I was then this was a friendly arena to watch a game.

Amazing show! I'd never been to Bakersfield before [except in shackles on the prison bus], and I didn't expect such a cool city. The venue was great, the lines moved fast, and the overpriced drinks were no more overpriced than they are everywhere else. And the staff and security were cool. If it wasn't 3+ hours away from me, I'd definitely go back and see a show here again. 🍻

Wish the seats were not so close from behind you feel every kick and bump and brush by from others walking behind. But nice first time visit

We attended the Cody Jinks concert a couple of weeks ago and loved it. The venue is smaller and more intimate than I was expecting, which made for an even better show. Prime rib dinner was amazing, the servers who worked instead of party, were great!! The entertainment, while not huge names, got it going on they had the place on their feet! We had a blast, so much fun!! Highly recommend it whether for New Year's or a concert, or just for a night out, Go!!! You Won't be disappointed!! Especially if it sells, we don't know how much longer we'll have this Bakersfield staple around! Hopefully whoever buys it, will keep Buck Owens dream going, it would be a real shame to see it go!

Okay. This was a fantastic venue! This place has all the elements of greatness for sure! Buck Ownens was a great singer, and he left behind a great restaurant. This place is a stop off for all up and coming country singers. This is also the Place that Garth proposed to Trisha... [Garth alert]. Food was above and beyond expectations! They served the best baby back ribs of any I have ever had! Service was good, and the waitress was nice. Can't wait for a next time!

My husband initially mentioned Buck Owens Crystal Palace while we were dating, stating his intention to bring me to this location. We are now celebrating our wedding anniversary here. Although the food and music are superior, the service from “Sierra” was deficient and disappointing! We experienced a prolonged delay in receiving our beverages and an additional wait for her to take our order; it is worth noting that the next table received service first, despite our prior arrival. Sierra made an error with my order, neglected to place my husband's order, and exhibited an unfavorable demeanor when presenting the bill. We would have preferred a different server, our night would have been perfect!

☀️ Buck Owens' Crystal Palace Made it back to Bakersfield! The Crystal Palace is for sale, hopefully it will remain open, but there is a chance it will be closed for good soon. The idea for the Buck Owens Crystal Palace originated in the mid-1980s. Buck spent most of his early career performing in small, smoke-filled bars and honky-tonks around the country. He wanted a high-class place for country-western music to be performed. Buck also wanted a place where he could "be himself". There is a museum with numerous memorabilia throughout his career. Live music and great food. And of course the buck-mobile hanging behind the bar. Once made for Elvis, Buck used it in The Streets of Bakersfield video.

A club atmosphere with dining and seating on many different levels to view the stage for many different music venues. Nice atmosphere and facilities and the dining area is clean and offers great service. The parking is protected by security guards on electric bikes who will follow you to your car, unless a show has emptied the building and everyone is leaving. The venue offers a gift shop and a museum of country music (Buck Owens of Hee Haw fame) the only negative would be the acoustics in the very back areas where the surrounding walls prevented clear music sounds reaching out ears properly 😔... Fortunately, a table was cleared and I was able to moved up to hear past the offending wall enclosure. 👍

Enjoyed this venue very much. If you're a country music fan this place is for you! So much memorabilia all over the place. Great picture opportunities. There is not a bad seat in the house. The environment and crowd was great. Brought my teenagers to see Charlie Crockett and we all had a great time. Tickets are affordable. We did not eat as kitchen closed at 10. I would see a show here again!!

Amazing place to dine at. First time me and my wife came here and it was definitely worth it. We got to see the famous Bakersfield sign, and also loved the museum part of the restaurant. The food was heavenly, i had a chicken fried steak sandwich, which was huge, and fries. Wife got a chicken fried steak meal, with baked potato, and loved it. Started off with some onion rings, which were divine. Ended the meal with chocolate cake, and oh boy, im glad i saved room for it. This place was really amazing, live music, cool bar has a Cadillac behind it, museum to wonder around and check out, made for a fun night. Definitely will be back here again soon.

The Kern County Museum is a captivating destination chronicling the rich history of Kern County through an array of artifacts and exhibits. Spanning 16 acres with 56 historical buildings, it offers a fascinating journey through Native American, frontier, and oil history.
The Kern County Museum is one of my absolute favorite spots to visit! It’s the perfect place to explore with family, offering a great mix of history, culture, and fun exhibits. The museum is beautifully laid out, with engaging displays that tell the story of the area’s history in such an interesting way. My favorite part of the museum is the neon courtyard. The historic signage from around town is simply beautiful, and it’s a unique and colorful way to experience a piece of the area's past. What I really love about the Kern County Museum is the variety of events they host throughout the year. Whether it’s a seasonal celebration or a special exhibit, there’s always something exciting going on that brings the community together. If you haven’t been yet, I highly recommend checking it out! It’s an enriching experience for both kids and adults alike.

This destination is an absolute hidden gem! I was blown away by the quality of the many exhibits that were on display. I would go as far as to say that the Kern County Museum is the best museum of this kind. Their recreations California history make you feel as if you have walked into a Time Machine. I was very surprised at how many reconstructions they had, as it took us almost 5 hours to see everything. We could have stayed longer too! If you are driving through the area on your way to the metropolitan centers to the north and to the south, I would HIGHLY recommend stopping by.

Great place though weathered. It’s huge with tons of old buildings to peer through the windows at and read small pieces of info. Not ADA compliant and lots of rough walking so don’t bring anyone not ready for a good hike in the sun with no rest spots. The “store” is behind the cashier at the entrance but you can’t go in. She has some water bottles but not guaranteed. Ask her to bring anything of interest to the window for viewing. Overheard one teen ask his parents, “Are we done? Can we go yet?” But they even have a train there! And so much more of historical relevance re how things worked. There’s an exhibit in an old dance hall that, if it’s open, shows the costumes of the singers and their instruments that entertained in the olden days. Anyway, I enjoyed it thoroughly and the lady collecting the money was pleasant though not knowledgeable about the history. There’s also a huge clock tower.

I came to experience the Bakersfield vibe, and the Kern County Museum delivered that and more. The Haggard house was well arranged. It was almost like being a neighbor. The whole experience was great, but the Bakersfield Sound building was like Hard Rock Cafe or R&R Hall of Fame, but pure country... loved it!

This was our second visit to this amazing museum and we will be going back!!! My son took me here for Mother's Day and I got in free he only cost $10. There is so much too see we had to come back. This time an older man was giving tours of old vehicles, wagons etc. He was so friendly and knowledgeable we enjoyed learning so much about the history of transportation. This is a great place to visit before it gets too hot. Everything is pretty much outside so we're good walking shoes and take water. There were two exhibits that are still not open and we hope to catch next time.

We went here for the safe trick or treating and the whole family loved it! It was the closest to trick or treating from when I was a kid. Super cute decorations, dance floor, bounce houses, food vendors, a movie, and more. We'll be going here every year from here on out.

Eagle Mountain Casino

Casino
Casinos & Gambling
Owned & operated by the Tule River Indian Tribe, this casino offers games plus on-site dining.
OMG ...... This place is so nice. They have like 2-3 restaurants, ones like a regular restaurant, ones like a sports bar with a live dj and one is like a food court with a few different cultural options. Can u tell I like food....☺️. They also had an event center where we saw Morris Day and the time, 🪅D Train, 🪅Surface 🪅and a few others. 🎉🎉🎉 We had a blast! When you're driving there it may look like nothings out there then bam, outta no where a beautiful casino with a lot to offer inside. Go check it out!

Acorn Diner was not great. No bueno for me. But it’s the cheaper option at the casino. The service was good and the place was clean. I ordered the fried pickle and it came out hot. It’s basically sliced sandwich pickles and it amounted to maybe 2 whole pickles. However it came out really greasy and the breading was not too thick. I ordered the patty melt with fries. I think that I would have preferred it without the sauce that they used. But it was also okay. I wouldn’t get it again or recommend it. Then lastly I had a bowl of menudo. It was kind of surprising because the meat that was used was rather gamey so it was either lam or goat that was used. My wife is Mexican and she said it was okay to her. It wouldn’t be her choice again nor would she recommend. So caution when you come here.

Eating at Cedar Food Court. I ordered the Orange Chk Bowl, Mozzarella sticks and a Chicago dog. The mozzarella sticks were pretty good and hot. The sauce wasn’t too think and it went well with the mozzarella sticks. The Orange chicken itself wasn’t dry, but the sauce had a syrupy taste that eventually had the rice drowning in it and couldn’t eat any more of it. I didn’t enjoy it too much compared to the mozzarella sticks. I didn’t eat the Chicago dog myself, but my uncle said the grilled tomatoes didn’t pair well with the hot dog. Other than that, it was quite filling. Overall not bad and would be down to try something new.

Eagle Mountain Casino has such an amazing atmosphere with staff who do such an amazing job with attending to all customers. The staff are all so friendly, helpful and determined to be of any assistance. If you aren't much a gambler; no need to worry because their establishment has some great food as well! I really admire the team effort and teamwork that is put into all events. I also noticed how all of the employees engage with one another and everyone is always doing something keeping busy and making sure things are grounded like most businesses should be. THERE IS A REASON WHY THEY CALLED; EMC THE PLACE TO BE!

On Saturday Eagle Mountain absolutely packed in the crowds. Slot selection is large, however with the crowds, good luck finding an open machine. The atmosphere is lively and upbeat. ~Slots either are tight or pay meager tbh. But, the Casino offers entertainment, so take it for what it's worth. *Also there isn't a Hotel which is disappointing, and the Restaurants are something to be improved upon. I'd personally rate Eagle Mountain 5/10 overall.

Negative Review: Eagle Mountain Casino - A Disappointing and Rigged Experience If you're looking for a good time and a fair chance at winning, do yourself a favor and drive right past Eagle Mountain Casino. My recent visit was an exercise in frustration and a stark reminder that some casinos are purely in the business of taking your money with minimal pretense of fairness. The slot machines, in particular, felt utterly rigged. I play slots often, and I understand the house has an edge, but the machines here felt exceptionally tight and unforgiving. It didn't matter if I played low-stakes, high-stakes, old machines, or new ones—the payout percentages seemed insultingly low. I saw very few people win anything substantial, and what little "wins" I managed only served to feed the machine for a few more depressing spins before the bankroll vanished. The common pattern was machines eating money at an alarming rate, barely offering a bonus or free spin, and when they did, the payout was a pittance, often less than the original bet. This isn't just bad luck; it feels designed to extract maximum money from players as quickly as possible. Beyond the frustratingly stingy slots, the atmosphere did little to compensate. While the facility itself might be newer or cleaner than its previous location, the overall vibe is sterile and lacks the excitement one hopes for in a gaming establishment. Save your money and your time. If you suspect a casino's slots are rigged against you, you are probably right. Eagle Mountain Casino left me with the distinct impression that their machines are set up for one purpose: for the casino to win, every single time. There are better, fairer places to spend your entertainment dollars. Rating: 1 out of 5 Stars (Only because 0 isn't an option)

Tulare Outlets

Shopping
Large outlet complex for apparel, footwear, jewelry & housewares, plus a range of casual eateries.
Tulare Outlets are a great option for those looking for well-known brands at more affordable prices. There’s a good variety of stores, from clothing and footwear to accessories and home goods. The layout makes it easy to walk around, with plenty of parking and a few spots to grab a quick bite. It’s not a huge mall, but it works perfectly for practical shopping with good deals.

We raced to make it in before they closed at 8pm. We only went to the coach store and the employees were super nice and helpful even tho we kept them for an extra 30 minutes trying to figure out the how to bypass the PIN code on their system for the klarna app and card but we figured it out and were able to purchase what we went in there for yay!!

⸻ Fantastic Shopping Experience at Tulare Outlets – Great Stores and Dining! Tulare Outlets continues to be one of my favorite destinations for shopping, offering a clean, well-organized layout and an impressive selection of top-tier retailers. Whether you’re looking for fashion, footwear, accessories, or home goods, the outlet offers something for everyone. Two of my personal favorite stores at the center are Nike and Coach. The Nike store consistently has great sales and a wide variety of athletic wear and footwear, making it easy to find exactly what I need at unbeatable prices. The Coach outlet is equally impressive, with excellent customer service and luxury accessories offered at discounted rates that are hard to pass up. What makes a visit to Tulare Outlets even better is its proximity to Bravo Farms, my favorite local restaurant. It’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy a delicious meal after a day of shopping. The food is consistently great, the atmosphere is rustic and welcoming, and the service never disappoints. Overall, Tulare Outlets offers a well-rounded experience—outstanding retail options, great deals, and a convenient location near fantastic dining. Highly recommended for both locals and visitors alike.

We went to Levi's to return a shirt but I wasn't able because I washed I was very disappointed because it had an ugly stain from the fabric but I learned that next time that happens I will return it right away and not try to remove the stain. We did some shopping they had a very good sales and Juan the employee that helped us was very nice and gave us an extra discount. We left happy and we will come back to do more shopping in the future.

It wasn't as crowded in the morning but around 12 afternoon it started to get crowded and parking was unavailable. Good thing I came to do some holiday shopping in the morning and left in the afternoon. There are many stores to explore and plenty of sale right now. A good place to find something for the holiday season.

Visalia/Sequoia National Park KOA Journey is a top choice for a convenient and modern campground in Visalia. It offers spacious grounds, modern amenities, and an easily accessible location within the city. The campground serves as a great base for exploring Sequoia National Park, which is just a short drive away. Visitors can immerse themselves in the beauty of the giant sequoias, hike along scenic trails, or simply take in the awe-inspiring views.
We stopped over on our long drive home. Easy to get into with an RV with decent sized spots. Walked by the pool and it looked nice, didn’t swim but lots of people were enjoying the pool. Nice off leash dog area. Great staff in the office. It was a quick stop but would stay here again. Saw a few cute cats running around.

The location isn’t particularly scenic, but it’s conveniently close to downtown and Sequoia National Park. The staff is very attentive and welcoming, which made the stay more pleasant. Bathrooms are outdated but kept clean. One of the highlights is the spacious and well-maintained dog park—perfect if you're traveling with pets. The campground is quiet and feels safe, which is a big plus. However, be aware that there’s limited shade at most sites, so it can get quite sunny and hot during the day.

Visited this KOA campground Labor Day weekend. It is a small campground, spacious spots, mature trees and nice quiet location in Visalia. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Swapping out a damaged picnic table for a nicer one and giving us a late check out time for a small additional fee. The pool was big even though we didn’t use it. The bathrooms and shower areas were a little out dated but clean and functional. I recommend this KOA campground if you are in Visalia or visiting Sequoia National Park.
Christine W — Google review
We recently stayed at the Visalia/Sequoia KOA RV Park as our home base for visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. The campground itself was clean and offered convenient amenities, including reliable access to shopping like Costco and other larger city comforts. Visalia is a pleasant town, small enough to explore in a day but big enough to have everything we needed. That said, there are a few things worth noting. The park is located in a heavily farmed area of the valley, which made it quite dusty during our stay. Water pressure was generally fine, but inconsistent at times. On our last morning, our hot water heater didn’t receive enough pressure to ignite, which delayed our showers. One of our main considerations when booking was proximity to the national parks, but we learned that the drive actually takes about an hour or more to reach either Sequoia or Kings Canyon. While this KOA worked well for city access, those planning multiple trips into the parks may want to explore options a bit closer to the entrances. All in all, a decent stay with the convenience of urban access, but next time we may consider something a little closer to the wilderness.
Thomas C — Google review
The tent sites are right along the road where people speed! It is entirely too loud at night! I felt like I was homeless and sleeping on the sidewalk. The shower house did not have any running water. The pipe at the camp site was turned off. The women's restroom looks like poor gas station restroom, not KOA standard. The entire campground smelled like a dirty muddy duck pond. Definitely would not camp here again.

Tokopah Falls

Waterfall
Nature & Parks
Tokopah Falls is a stunning 1,200-ft waterfall located in Sequoia National Park. The Marble Fork of the Kaweah and the Tokopah Falls Trail offer a refreshing hike with various pools to cool off in during hot summer days. The trail runs alongside the river, providing an easy walk to witness the impressive cascading waterfall. Additionally, visitors can explore other nearby trails and attractions such as Moro Rock for spectacular views of the park's western half.
This trail is nice, pretty easy trail. Took about an hour to reach the falls while still taking time to enjoy the views and take pictures. The falls were mostly frozen now in December but still worth the hike. Once you reach the falls, the trail completely changes and gets very rocky, which is a nice change of scenery. The sun is setting about 430pm so make sure you plan accordingly so you can make it back on time.
Marianoh44 — Google review
The hike up the falls is 1.7 miles. Took us 1 hour to get to the falls with lots of stops for pictures. We went here the first week of April 2025, and there's still snow everywhere. It's an easy hike.

This was one of my favorite things I did while on my vacation at Sequoia national park. The trail like every other i hiked was well kept. We went first thing in the morning cause I wanted to avoid big crowds and I'm so glad we did. Parking is limited if you want to park closest to the head trail. It was a moderate hike and it took us more than an hour to get to the falls but that will depend on your pace. The last 10 min of the trail it's rocky but doable. There are amazing views the whole way and pictures won't do them justice but take as many as you can. We encountered deers and a bear even follow us in a part of the trail...that was scary but a cool story now. The fall itself it's beautiful but dangerous so I wouldn't encourage to get as close as some people were when we visited. Take plenty of water and wear comfortable shoes.

Short walk through the forest to see the falls and back. Took about 1 hrs to do, very easy trail overall. If your in the area id recommend.

A breathtaking & underrated hike, mostly shaded except the last 10 to 15 mins. This gem is inside the Sequoia National park and of course General Sherman and Grant deserve all the attention. However this is one trail that not too difficult and shouldn't be missed. It's a moderately difficult trail, but can be done if you pace and take breaks often. It naturally follows the river and hence you weave in and out of meadows and forests. The last 15 mins are exposed and rocky. The start of the trail is near a campground. I presume you could drive and park across the start of the trail, however I parked at Lodgepole visitor center, another 15 min walk away with better access to water, food and rest rooms. The entire hike would roughly take about 2 hours plus time you spend at the falls PRO TIP - Plan to start hiking about hour and half or so to sunset, the entire hike is spectacular and you will be treated some magnificent lighting and views all along the way. - Carry enough water. There are water filling stations at Lodgepole visitor center. - Stay on trails - Appears everyone would follow it, but surprising the extremes people would go for a picture. No pic is worth your limb or life and off trails are often places of re-vegetation by NPS. Respect nature and the efforts of NPS Staff.

Go for this trail! You have the best views of beautiful meadows in Sequoia National Park here! It is a 4 mile in and out trail, starting right at the lodgepole parking area, we even spotted a bear from far, Oh my god we saw poop a lot of it in the trail! It was a running trail, a lot of people at that time, gives you an amazing view! Rocky and little steep like around 525 feet, could complete it in 1 and half hour.
Gargi G — Google review
The waterfall was roaring and a beautiful prize at the end of the trail. The tra itself isn't hard, just long. We enjoyed tiptoing though mini creeks and crossing over natural bridges. Most of the trail is pretty cool. The rocky part (towards the of the trail) was pretty hot and sunny. Be sure to bring sunscreen.

Love this place. Truck stop across the street with fuel. There's a truck wash and barbecue. About 8 to 10 truck parking spots, great gift shop, cheese shop, fudge and ice cream. Restaurant with barbecue and a bar area. Bottle and tap beer. You can take your food and drink out back and eat. Lots of tables. Llama, donkeys and goats to feed. Built to look like an old Western town that you can go into. Old fashioned shooting gallery. Beautiful flowers and trees. Really cool place. Barn full of antiques next door open on weekends

This place has great cheese, snacks, ice cream and souvenirs. We haven't been back since before the remodel so it was nice to see the update place. This was a quick bathroom break, dog rest and ice cream on our way back from a long day out. We love love the dog park area and REALLY APPRECIATE IT. Our dog was ready for water, play and a poop. They provide a water bowl attached to the barn wall on your right when you walk in the gate. You can turn on the water to fill it up. It is a little high for tiny dogs, our dog could just reach the water if he stretched his neck. There are poop bags provided as well. FREE OF CHARGE! The dog park is so worth the stop when on road trips with the furry family members. No dogs are allowed inside Bravo Farms (except service animals) but we just left ours in the car with the air conditioner on, (Of course) after he played, pooped and got a snack. 😊 We then went in and got an ice cream ina cup, they have cones as well. It cost $9.50 for two single scoops in a cup. I had Coffee and chips and we tried orange flavor as well. Wow both were so good. I recommend Coffee and chip. 👍 We also picked up some Gouda and bacon cheese squares and an alligator jerky stick. There is so much more at Bravo Farms but this is just what we did this day. We have been two this location over a dozen times in the past 12 yrs. We will always stop by here when heading to or from Bakersfield or Fresno. If you pass this place on the 99 and haven't stopped yet. THIS IS YOUR SIGN 🛑. Try them out!

This location is way better than the one in Visalia. The food quality and portion are way better. Inside and outdoor seating, but I would recommend indoors due to the flies from the petting zoo Ordered: Pulled pork sando Santa Fe salad The fudge is delicious. I personally love the rocky road flavor, but they offer many other flavors to try. Great stopover and to get some souvenirs

While stopping to charge our vehicle we decided to visit the adorable building that was Bravo Farms. They offered clean restrooms and plenty of your typical tourist stop goodies for purchase. It was fun watching a bit of the cheese making process. They offer fudge samples. We enjoyed a nice conversation with the gal serving the fudge about the small town of Taver where she was born and raised. It is an adorable little town.

Fun tourist trap. The cheese is incredible and you can watch them make it if you show up at the right times. Tourist trap prices on snacks. There used to be more to do here but they seem to be scaling that back. Fun place to pull over and stretch your legs if you are travelling the 99 a long distance. The do have EV charging for teslas if you need it. The steak at the restaurant is really good. Good icecream at the ice cream parlor and the attached gas station has some decent types of jerky for sale. Decent restrooms. And the tree house is cool for families. An old school family friendly tourist stop.

We really enjoyed out tour of the Cat Haven facilities. My mom is a big cat lover and even she learned a lot about the various species of big and little cats they have. The animals are certainly well kept and they have appropriately sized enclosures and receive tons of enrichment customized to their specific needs. It was very cool how close to the enclosures/cats themselves we got to be and just overall was a very fun and informative experience. We liked that you get to pick which region/cats the $1 conservation fee goes toward with your ticket - such a cool and fun idea!

I went as a chaperone for my daughter’s field trip. It was very fun. They started off in a class where they learned about the differences in the skulls of predators and prey. Then they got to walk around and try to identify 6 different skulls which the kids really enjoyed. After their lunch break we went on to the tour of all the cats they have. The volunteer tour guide gave as a very informational tour which was very enjoyable. The majority of the cats were awake and active which was really a plus. The children really enjoyed it.

Highly recommend doing the behind the scenes with the Tigers 🐅. We learned a lot about each of the cats. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and knew how to keep the group entertained. The place was very well kept and clean. We enjoyed our visit and will deffiently be coming back to do some of the other special tours that are offered. Highly recommend if you are in the area or are thinking about stopping by.

Saw this place sign when driving towards Sequoia National Park during the weekend and decided to visit during the week. This is a hidden gem and a must to visit. The cats are amazing to see, and the place raised money for other conservation places around the world. If you are a local you can buy a membership to visit frequently. Clean place, picnic area next to the gift shop, clean bathrooms, parking on place with some shade and nice people.

This was a surprisingly great last minute visit. The mother / daughter duo were friendly and hilarious. We'd definitely recommend anyone who is a Big Cat enthusiast to visit. Please bring plenty of ice cold water with you to visit as Fresno summers are unbearable. The did have misting cooling sprays that did help a little.
