Visitors can explore the area through scenic trails that lead to picturesque views, tranquil lakes, and cascading waterfalls. The lake also features a campground and boat rides for those seeking outdoor adventures. Additionally, the historic chalet-turned-store adds a touch of nostalgia to the experience.
We took the boat tour and stepped off to hike back. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Beautiful waterfalls and scenery along the way. The hike had a few challenging parts to it but nothing too difficult. We went in early June and it was a little muddy so I would recommend hiking boots.
Alison W — Google review
We had the best time at Two Medicine Lake. It was definitely more slower paced, peaceful and not nearly as overcrowded when compared to the other side of the park.
Esmeralda M — Google review
The most beautiful place in Glacier National Park. So serene and beautiful hard to leave. There are plenty of day hikes all around this place. The boat launch is nearby for a trip across the lake to do a hike to Twin Falls or walk 4 miles or so around. There is a General Store that offers some souvenirs and snack items . Park workers are enthusiastically friendly and helpful. Goats roam the campground area freely be sure to drive through campground area section as well and park and enjoy the views and trails

I walked to the shore and sat down to meditate, but started crying immediately. I'm not sure if it was just the stunning beauty and the peace I felt, or if it was something more. What I am sure of is that I only experienced a little taste of why the indigenous people named this place Two Medicine. There's something healing about it.
Dean K — Google review
Two Medicine Lake, nestled in the southeastern corner of Glacier National Park, offers a serene and less-traveled alternative to the park’s more frequented areas. With its tranquil waters, stunning mountain backdrops, and a variety of outdoor activities, it provides a quintessential Glacier experience. Canoeing & Kayaking: For those seeking a more tranquil experience, canoeing or kayaking on the lake allows for close encounters with nature in a peaceful setting. Recommended! Boat Tours: The Glacier Park Boat Company operates tours across the lake, providing informative rides that offer unique perspectives of the surrounding landscape.

Definitely worth the trip if you want to get some beautiful pics. As far as a mountain lake setting, it’s hard to beat.
Canadian M — Google review
Very serene, quiet, and very real. We hiked to lake, Falls and outlook. Steep hike to outlook. Beats are in the area, we did see a partial grizzly and appreciated the loud growls after we cleared the area.

Nature & Parks
Running Eagle Falls, also known as Trick Falls, is a stunning 32-foot waterfall located in Glacier National Park. It is easily accessible and can even be reached by wheelchair users. During spring, the waterfall appears to fall in on itself due to a larger influx of water, concealing the cascade below that emerges from an underground cave. The trail leading to the overlook of Running Eagle Falls is considered stroller-friendly and wheelchair accessible.
Easy, flat trail that is partially paved. The waterfall is gorgeous and the creek is a great place to cool your feet off on a hot day. We went early and it wasn’t crowded.
Shana D — Google review
Very easy trail. It is a quick walk to the waterfall. Pretty spectacular waterfall coming out of the hillside, good swimming hole for hot days. Not a lot of people there.
Sadie K — Google review
It's a nice and quiet place to enjoy the nature. The eagle falls itself is probably the top attraction but I also liked the nature trail.
Farshina N — Google review
A beautiful and short hike to do with friends or family. Trail is very flat and easy. The view of Running Eagle Falls at the end is wonderful, and a classic image of Glacier Park. Would definitely recommend if looking for something quick to do with a nice payoff.
Gabriella — Google review
Truly incredible cave waterfall. The half mile walk in is paved if you take the right hand path and very accessible for those with mobility problems.
Lindsay M — Google review
Came out last week. Low crowds, easy in and out. Great short one for any kiddos, easily do this and a few other ones if your planning the day out. Good stroll along the stream as well!
Nhan T — Google review
Perfect and quick little hike to a very interesting waterfall. Due to high water levels, both falls were going. Highly recommend.

Wonderful easy hike to a beautiful waterfall. Some paved walk, stream crossing over a small single lane bridge. Trail gets very picturesque and pretty with every step!

Hidden Lake is a popular moderate day-hike destination in Glacier National Park, offering stunning mountain scenery and wildlife sightings. The Hidden Lake Nature Trail starts behind the visitor center at Logan Pass and leads hikers through wildflower meadows known as the Hanging Gardens, providing panoramic views of rugged mountains. After about 1.
Hidden Lake in Montana is worth the hike! The view is amazing, with a beautiful lake and the stunning Bearhat Mountain in the background. The hike is not too hard, and when you reach the lake, the peaceful scenery and wildflowers along the way makes it all worth it. If you enjoy nature and great views, this place is a must-see!
Chanda D — Google review
Beautiful turquoise lake, definitely hike all the way down to the lake. Definitely one of the top hikes in the park
Josiah — Google review
Like all the hikes in Glacier National Park, this one is amazing and unforgettable, but has the bonus of being a very easy hike compared to most in Glacier. Also arrived at the parking lot around 9 a.m. on a Saturday and there were plenty of spots.
Fitness. I — Google review
It is one of the most popular hikes in Glacier National park, Montana. Lots of stairs & it is an uphill trail to the beautiful lake. The trail of hidden lake starts behind the Logan pass visitor center. The view is amazing. We saw five big horn sheep on the trail. The lookout wooden platform is well maintained. The hike is moderate but worth it. You have to park your vehicle in Logan pass visitor center. Finding a parking spot is very difficult.
Poulami G — Google review
This is an amazing spot with a beautiful lake. It’s mostly boarded so easy to climb up. It is all up most of the first half but not a difficult hike. Fairly short. We saw mountain goats and rams. A beautiful experience. It does get very busy and the parking lot is fairly small so expect to wait for parking or have to leave and come back at another time
Diana S — Google review
While parking is a major challenge at Logan Pass, this is a hike worth taking. One of the best, if not the best, in Glacier National Park. It’s a boardwalk for much of it, so very easy, with only moderate elevation. The non-boardwalk parts are easy dirt trails. You can’t get lost. The “lookout” is a 1.5 mile straight shot and gets you to about 8000 ft. So 3 miles round trip. You can hike down another 1.5 miles down to the lake, but that obviously makes the hike an additional 3 miles. This is a must do hike, at least to the lookout. VictorB

What can I say. This is the most beautiful lake scenery in the whole Montana state. I love the hike and the sights all around the trail is just amazing. Anyone in the area must see this place. Views are breathtaking. Trust me these pictures doesn’t do the justice. It’s a place that need to be on your bucket list. I can not wait to go there again.
Naqeeb U — Google review
One of the beautiful alpine lakes in Glacier National Park. The start of the trail is through Logan pass. The trail takes you to the overlook and through the overlook there’s another trail that leads you down to the lake. Since the trail starts from Logan Pass, finding a parking spot is very challenging, so make sure you leave early. Chances of seeing wild goats on this trail is quite high. Also bear spotting is high when you walk down towards the lake from the overlook. During our time, the trail to the lake was closed because of the bears, so have your bear spray ready.

The Hidden Lake Trail starts at the Logan Pass Visitor Center and takes hikers through diverse terrain, from forested areas to alpine meadows teeming with wildlife and colorful wildflowers. The trail leads to the iconic Hidden Lake Overlook, where visitors can admire Bearhat Mountain towering over the twinkling alpine blue lake.
🌄 Breathtaking Beauty at Logan Pass! 🌄 Logan Pass is truly the crown jewel of the Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park! The drive itself is spectacular, but reaching Logan Pass feels like arriving in a whole different world. Towering peaks, lush alpine meadows, and sweeping vistas in every direction — it’s picture-perfect at every turn. The Hidden Lake Overlook trail is a must-do if you visit. It’s a relatively short hike with incredible rewards: wildflowers, mountain goats, and panoramic views that make you stop and just take it all in. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, so get there early or take the shuttle — it’s absolutely worth it. Whether you’re here for a scenic drive, wildlife spotting, or hiking, Logan Pass delivers a truly unforgettable experience. Don’t miss it!

Beautiful area for hiking and sightseeing! Driving is a little steep and road is narrow. Parking is hard to get in the day time.
Julian M — Google review
What a PLACE!!! Absolutely stunning. Be sure to plan ahead and get the right passes. You need a pass to access the road and parking fills up fast. But the gorgeous hikes, views and wildlife sightings are unlike any others. It’s worth it to get up there early and watch the sunrise!
Rachel R — Google review
The short (about 3 miles round-trip) hike captures the majestic beauty of Glacier NP. More often than not, Bearhat Mountain & Hidden Lake are graced by the iconic mountain sheep with pure white coats. The toughest part of the trip is finding a parking spot at Logan Pass. Best plan is get to Logan Pass before sunrise or simply roll the dice. One plan is drop one couple off, return in 1.5 hours, and second couple takes the hike and pictures.
Lester K — Google review
Have visited a few times. Incredible views at Logan Pass which is about 6,400'. Trails here a little strenuous yet if you take your time, you'll likely find it was worth it. Since the park is open 24/7, we came back at midnight and took some cool night sky pictures. No light pollution at all. Glacier National Park is a splendid awe-inspiring view of nature at it'la finest.
D Z — Google review
Beautiful area. If you don’t want to fight for parking you need to arrive EARLY. Arrived at 6:30am got one of the last parking spots.
April C — Google review
A must-see on Going to the Sun road in Glacier. Very, very busy area though and we could not find parking anywhere around the Pass which was disappointing.
Christine V — Google review
There's no parking, too many mountains, the roads feel unsafe, the trails feel unsafe, it smells like DS, Devon kept marching ahead and wouldn't slow down, my knee hurts...2 stars

Grinnell Glacier is a famous and often photographed glacier in Glacier National Park. It's located in the Many Glacier area, which is known for its popular hikes such as Iceberg Lake, Grinnell Glacier, the Highline Trail, Swiftcurrent Falls, and Avalanche Lake. The trail to Grinnell Glacier Viewpoint is a challenging 5.6-mile hike one way or a 3.
Absolutely beautiful and definitely worth the hike. It’s been my best hiking experience yet! The views on the way to the glacier were stunning, and I was lucky enough to spot a mountain goat and a moose along the way
Chanda D — Google review
This was absolutely stunning. It was a little tricky at the beginning. Beautiful trail with stunning wild flowers as soon as you start your hike then incline with switchbacks were pretty rough. We hiked at our own pace and took a few breaks. Then the views were breathtaking all the way up. Then the end was all worth it!
Yvette W — Google review
Highly recommend! The trail is better than the destination in my opinion. Beautiful views the entire way especially when you arrive at the parking area at 5 am and start the hike at 6 am to catch the morning alpine glow. The parking lot was mostly empty at 5 am but filled up quickly. The glacier area is peaceful; however, if you've seen bigger and better glaciers than Grinnell is anticlimactic. The hike is moderate purely for the distance.
Louis M — Google review
A gorgeously scenic 21km trek with an amazing up close view of the glacier.
Shanti S — Google review
I’ve hiked this trail 5 times now. This is a tough hike, especially the last half mile, but worth it for the absolutely stunning views! The first 2 miles around the lake isn’t bad but once you start the Glacier trail it’s nothing but up with very few switchbacks. PROS: You get to be close to a glacier. You get dozens of different angles of a glacial lake as you hike up. You will probably see wild life. Big horn sheep like to hang out here but weren’t there this particular day. CONS: As I mentioned it’s a strenuous hike so pace yourself. This is a very popular hike in GNP so be sure to come early if you want a parking space. There will be a lot of people on the trail. It can be dangerous if you hike it beginning of June/ end of May or earlier so bring some sort of traction devise for snow and ice. Autumn is an absolutely stunning time to go.
Rachael T — Google review
I was a little worried because my wife and I are not particularly athletic and definitely one of the slower people on the trail. Even so, we made it to the top without much issue. Definitely a workout but there was nothing too extreme about the hike that made it impossible for us. The gradual incline was definitely a plus and the quarter mile steep incline we just took frequent breaks. Saw several bighorn sheep. Glacier was amazing. Despite it being so popular there was enough space for all to enjoy. Water is freezing. I dipped my feet in and had to take it out after 15 seconds. Overall took us a little over 3 hrs one way. We spent 2 hrs at the glacier. It is unshaded and does get hot in the afternoon so highly recommend to start early. Also trail gets narrow so much better to go up when there is no foot traffic coming down. There are sections where there are sheer cliff drops but I never felt unsafe. Highly recommend and totally feel accomplished that we were able to do it :)
Huy D — Google review
Visited early Sep. This is one of the most scenic hikes in Glacier NP. Saw a ram and a mountain goat on the trail. The glacier lake is just so amazing and unusual with "bloody pond". The lake is big and at the far end is still snow covered, but could see the crevasses as snow was melting. This is a must hike!!
S C — Google review
They say this Glacier will be gone in 8 -13 years so, don't miss your chance. This is one of the most beautiful hikes in Glacier National Park. Hike is challenging and should be planned as all day event. If you like extreme and you there in the summer swimming is and option but for everyone else - dipping you lags in will make you feel like you didn't hike at all and way back will be much easier. There is also lake in the beginning of the hire and swimming there is great way to complete this hike.

Located just 25 km north of Caraway, Alberta, the Remington Carriage Museum is a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts. The museum boasts an impressive collection of over 270 carriages that offer a comprehensive exploration of transportation history. Visitors highly recommend taking a guided tour led by knowledgeable and friendly staff to gain insights into the highlights and background of the exhibits.
A thoroughly interesting museum that is worth a visit. They have an enormous collection of carriages, the oldest of which seems to be from 1852 France. Made by a variety of companies across Canada and the world, with the special importance on Canadian made, particularly by the McLachlin company, Which became General Motors Canada. There’s a lot to read, but just a visual walk-through is amazing as well. The staff were quite friendly and engaging, particularly the carriage driver and guide. Pay for the carriage ride. It’s a fun little jaunt around the property, and quite informative.

A fantastic museum with an impressive collection of horse-drawn carriages and beautifully curated exhibits. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and the live demonstrations add a special touch. Great for families and history lovers alike!

This museum was a revelation Learned so much history of the province I’m Born and raised and live in. Sounds like it might be boring but it’s actually quite interesting and has amazing carriages. Who knew they were so high?

Must visit place in southern Alberta. Shows the rich history of carriages. Very well maintained!
Dilraj S — Google review
We visited the Remington Carriage Museum in Cardston, AB during Seniors Week, when admission for seniors like us was free. we enjoyed the collection of carriages, wagons, and sleighs and the exhibits so much that we made a donation to the museum as we were leaving. The collection and the information about the collection was excellent. We also talked with one of the restorers in the restoration shop. They explained what kind of work went into preparing carriages, wagons, and sleighs for display and how long some of the work takes to do. Several school classes on field trips were also enjoying the museum while we there. The museum has the largest collection of carriages, wagons, and sleighs in the world. If you're ever in southern Alberta I highly recommend that you visit the museum and enjoy it's collection, displays, and exhibits. The Horse University exhibit was a hit with the students during their field trip.
Karl H — Google review
This place is rich with history, amazing collection of carriages and very well restored. Absolutely the best place to visit for a family, showcases Alberta and Canadian history in a nice manner.
Francine Q — Google review
Really interesting. Lot of fun. If you like working with metal or wood they have a workshop where they restore carriages. For the kids, they have fun interactive games that they can play (ask at the front counter). You can also take a ride on a horse drawn buggy. The staff is very friendly.
Scott R — Google review
This is such a gem of a museum! There are so many restored carriages, it’s unbelievable! I liked the informational displays telling the story of a particular carriage and the times it’s been used, so much history learned on a single museum visit! Me and my kids loved it 😍 The carriage ride was fun as well. If you are visiting Waterton National Park, I highly recommend making a drive to Remington Carriage Museum, it’s just about 40 minutes away but so-so worth it! I think even driving from Calgary to this museum is totally worth it.

Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump World Heritage Site

Sights & Landmarks
Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump World Heritage Site in Alberta, Canada, is a UNESCO site that preserves 6,000 years of Plains Buffalo history. The Blackfoot people used the cliffs near Fort Macleod to hunt buffalo by herding them up the hill and causing some to go over the cliff's edge. The interpretive center offers well-presented displays and films about this cultural heritage.
Such an amazing place to visit! The site is beautiful with stunning scenic views — but be prepared for extremely windy conditions at the top. Make sure to check the hours, as they close early, so plan your visit accordingly. One tip for after your visit: when exiting, avoid turning right as the road is very rough, almost off-road with lots of rocks — not suitable for a sedan. Instead, take the left turn to reach the highway for a safer and quicker drive.
YourFlyingFarishta — Google review
Great place to visit. Took about an hour to do the whole heritage site. Unique heritage site with tons of info on the buffalo jump. One of my favorite parts is the building itself. Built into the side of the cliff, it's architecturaly very fascinating. Great views from the cliff of the prairies and the Old Man River.

The World Heritage Site: Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump After a long week of work, we finally had the chance to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, just a 2-hour drive from Calgary. No booking required! Simply pay the entrance fee and enjoy the fascinating exhibits. It’s a place rich in history, offering insight into how Indigenous people survived and thrived in this cold and challenging environment. You’ll learn about traditional hunting methods, culture, and resilience. A must visit, especially for families with kids! It’s a meaningful way to teach children about the remarkable ways people adapted and lived in harmony with nature.

Woow. Magnificent place. I heard about it long time ago but had no chance to visit till last weekend and it was worth for such long drive. Knowing the history of the place and native culture goes back to 6000 years. Mind blowing for me. Also, layer by layer display of the soil which contains buffalo remains in last 6000 years, stunning. I have more respect to the native people than before after visiting and learning one of their sacred place.

🦬 Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump – A Powerful Connection to the Past—We’ve visited Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump a few times over the years, and each time it gets better. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable—they really bring the history to life. The site is well-maintained, and the washrooms were clean, which is always appreciated. This year, we noticed some new features added since our last visit, which made the experience feel fresh. They offer family packages and discounted rates for veterans and their families, which is a thoughtful touch. No need to book in advance—we walked in on a weekend and had no issues, even with tour buses coming through. 🐾 Heads-up for pet owners: Dogs aren’t allowed inside the interpretive centre, but there’s a shaded waiting area outside where you can sit with your pup. They even provide water bowls, which was a kind gesture. ✅ Tip: If you’re heading south from Pincher Creek or exploring the Waterton area, this is a must-stop. It’s not just a museum—it’s a place to reflect, learn, and connect with Indigenous history in a meaningful way.

Super friendly staff and a clean, well maintained building and trails. I did the trails to the kill site, and met a deer along the way. Educational tour. I had no idea the excavation of the site discovered the site had been used for about 6000-7000 years! Very cool.

This was an incredible experience. The indigenous people of this land had systems and processes in place for thousands of years that have been adapted and still used today. They were resourceful, environmentally aware, deeply spiritual and then white man came along. I was so moved by the story and impressed by the visitor centre and how they honoured the stories. Great building, great staff and well worth the visit.
Matthew M — Google review
This is a very informative historical site. The curators have done an excellent job. It is very well put together. After you check-in, You start the visit by taking elevator to the 7 floor, then go outside to the viewing point. You reenter the building and make your way down through the 6 floors of displays. Not a difficult walk. This is worth the visit. Spent maybe 1.5 hours here.

The Fort Museum, established in 1957, is a significant site dedicated to preserving the history of the NWMP and First Nations People. It proudly hosts the world-famous NWMP Musical Ride since 1973. The museum offers informative displays showcasing the history of the NWMP/RCMP and their way of life in the rugged western frontier. Visitors can also enjoy interactive experiences such as climbing towers, petting animals, and experiencing live music during the musical ride.
An underrated place you must visit. You can pay to groom your horse and learn about them. Then you are taken for a ride on your horse. Our family of 8 went. Some of us have never been so close to horses before but it was well worth the experience in petting them to actually seeing them as harmless and quite friendly. The Fort is a must. As there is a lot of Blackfoot history in the museum along with many artifacts from others as well. ALL the workers from inside to the trainers were really friendly and made it all wonderful. They work very hard and it shows. Our family are really happy to have met them and have this experience.

We stopped by the Fort Museum Trading Post Gift Shop and were so impressed! There’s such a great mix of clothing, shoes, unique gifts, and souvenirs. So glad they’re open year-round now — we’ll definitely be back and already got our membership! And they have goats to pet!

The staff were friendly, organized, and willing to share their knowledge with the help of a translator, making the experience both educational and fun. Our group loved the authentic displays and interactive elements, and the atmosphere made it easy to imagine life in the fort’s early days. The museum team’s hospitality and attention to detail helped make our program a success, and we highly recommend this venue for group visits, school programs, and cultural events.

We had a great day getting out of the rain on our camping trip exploring the Fort. Rich history of the Mounted police and of the areas history! Service was good, would have enjoyed seeing the gots out, but the facilities were excellent! This is a great family activity.

Good museum and musical ride experience at The Fort Museum. I visited last week, and had a great time. Lots of well curated historical displays. I highly recommend paying the extra charge for the musical ride. I got there at 9AM and stayed until the end of the musical ride at about 10:30AM.
John B — Google review
A huge disappointment! Drove from Calgary on August long weekend. Visited website before leaving and NO WHERE did it say the RCMP musical ride was cancelled. Had to repurchase admission tickets because the ticket app is not accepted on site. There was zero onsite site enhancements or a single interaction to bring the place to life. Very boring. Will never come back. Heritage Park in Calgary is a much superior choice.

A place to stop with your family! Chock full of nostalgic items, including candy and collectibles. Plenty of games/activities for the kids in the car. The silver "fill your own bags" from the silver bins was a favorite of my family. Be sure to look up!
John K — Google review
Great nostalgic location that is a must-visit as a destination or just driving through. Everywhere I turned, I saw a candy that reminded me of my parents or my friends from elementary days. There is a candy or chocolate to tickle every fancy. I'm always a glutton for Aussie licorice. There are interesting finds like white chocolate covered gummy bears and candy coated sunflower seeds. There are various fans/bottles of pop with unique flavors. After grabbing our treats, we went down the street for dinner then doubled back for dessert ... ice cream! The staff remembered us and welcomed us with open arms. A single scoop is $6. Upgrade to a waffle cone for $1 or a gourmet waffle cone (with chocolate or sprinkles) for $2. Even the ice cream tokens are vibrant and colorful! Don't forget to look up ... they have a vintage stash of collectibles including a massive collection of M&M memorabilia in the rafters. There's even a section of sugar free candy for diabetics. Pop in for a minute, and get lost in time!

Staff was great, pleasant and kind. Nice selection of different candy and love they have ice cream. A single scoop was plenty for me. Their serving portions were great. Loved the feel of the small town and warm welcoming 🙏

A childhood dream. Passing through Nanton last Sunday June 23 en route to Calgary, I heard about a famous local candy shop so I had to check it out. The selection was breathtaking. One major detail you cannot overlook is how things are organized. Despite how wall-to-wall densely packed the place is (with every flavour of everything) it's organized in such a way that makes intuitive sense. Despite being my first time visiting, I very quickly got a sense of where things were. Furthermore, the staff were so lovely and kind; it felt like I was chatting with some old neighbours that I'd known for years. Smiles all around. They even sell ice cream! I didn't know this until the young lady at the register asked me if I'd like some. To which I responded, "tempting, but I'm gonna have to resist!" using up all the self-control I had left. Want to feel like a kid in a candy store all over again? Check out The Candy Store in Nanton.

You know the candy store in Nanton . It's a very nice store they have a very large amount of candy. There real good selection. The staff's friendly but their prices again are very very high for what you get. A lot of people go in there and support that company but yet they take it on other person by charging ridiculous prices. I just don't understand where the world has come to when it's not about the people no more. The compassion for the person is gone
Cliff D — Google review
This business in Nanton is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, 2024. I have stopped in here for the better part of that 20 years, anytime I was passing through Nanton. Being a candy lover, the selection available here is great. I'm always on the lookout for products that aren't found in other stores. It's a fun kind of place to shop and one can spend a lot of time walking the aisles and making choices. Whatever your taste in sweets, you will find something here to satisfy. The staff is friendly and helpful. Given the popularity of the shop, things can get busy, but staff are efficient in processing orders. They sell ice cream as well and one can get a good variety of flavours, with a decent selection of sizes and servings. The shop is also part of the antique vibe of Nanton and has an interesting selection of antique and vintage items for sale. Many times I have stopped in to buy candy and left with some antique item, as well. Over all, a great place to visit when in Nanton.

Located in Nanton, the Bomber Command Museum of Canada is a must-visit for history enthusiasts. The museum showcases three WWII bombers and various training aircraft, along with aviation art, informative videos, and archives. Visitors can explore the well-maintained displays and aircraft while enjoying fascinating films and library materials accessible through the museum's website. Additionally, the museum offers picnic tables in the adjacent park for a relaxing break.
We stumbled across this wonderful museum right as it was closing for the day. Everyone was welcoming and encouraged us to take a little look. We loved seeing the planes, especially the Lancaster, and will definitely visit again on a future vacation in Alberta. Well worth a look.

I was recommended to check out this museum on r/Alberta. Lots of paintings, pictures, and display cabinets to look at. Lots of personal testimonials from Bomber Command crews to read. Definitely worth checking out this place. The Lancaster is massive and you can tour the interior. They have a BF 109. A rare sight to see.

I've driven past this place for many years and never stopped to visit. I had a chance to visit here during the "Bikers and Bombers" event, and I'm so glad I did. What an amazing place with tons of history and artifacts. Very knowledgeable volunteers and staff made you feel very welcome.

Bomber Command Museum located in amazing little town of Nanton, Alberta. It is a must see! They restore and bring back to life many historic aircraft mainly from WWII. The star of the show is the Lancaster bomber where Carl likes to say “let’s convert some gasoline to noise” and fired up the four V12 Rolls Royce Merlin engines! Spectacular to see and hear! They are also working on rebuilding a Halifax bomber. While at the museum please take a moment to remember the brave men who fought for our freedom at the Memorial wall. Also, I’d like to thank Zarchary for showing me the restoration shop and the work that was being done. Admission is by donation and every dollar helps to keep the museum. So much important history!

Excellent if you love airplanes! Tour the inside of a Lancaster, sit in one of the snowbirds, maybe learn about the dambuster bombing runs. Got the opportunity to see the restoration hangar and meet some of the people working to restore the historical aircrafts.

This was such an experience for us, though from the US, we enjoyed learning from another country’s perspective about military use and history of war. Muldoon (hopefully didn’t botched the name too bad) was knowledgeable and my son thoroughly enjoyed the conversations. Thank you so much❤️

My dad loves airplanes, so I brought him to this museum. When we saw the Avro Lancaster, he was amazed by how huge it is — truly impressive. There were also two replica planes with open cockpits you could check out. Overall, it was a great experience.

Okotoks Erratic, located in the town of Okotoks, is a massive glacial boulder that weighs around 16,500 tonnes and stands at 9 meters tall. It is believed to have been left by glacial activity thousands of years ago and is considered a remarkable sight and an iconic landmark of Okotoks. The rock landed in its current location during a rockslide between 10,000 to 30,000 years ago.
one of the historic place in Alberta. very clear view. Best time of visit is summer when all lush green around. Facilities at the site include a paved parking lot, washrooms, and wheelchair-accessible ramps, making it suitable for visitors of all ages and abilities. The site is open year-round, offering a peaceful retreat with expansive views of the surrounding prairie and mountains
Abdul Q — Google review
The Okotoks Erratic, also known as the "Big Rock," is an incredible natural landmark and definitely worth a stop. It's amazing to see such a massive boulder in the middle of the prairie and learn about its glacial history. The site is open 24/7, so it's easy to visit anytime, and there's plenty of parking nearby. There are walking paths around the rock with informational signs that explain its geological and cultural significance. It's also a popular spot for photos, short hikes, and even just a peaceful break when driving through the area. There aren't many amenities on-site, so bring water and snacks if you plan to stay a while. Overall, it's a fascinating and unique stop for anyone interested in nature, geology, or Alberta history.

We went to the Buffalo Jump Head Smashed in the other day and were blessed to hear the Napi story about the rock from a Blackfoot guide. We came to the rock just to admire it and weren’t disappointed. Such a great piece of history and nature.

Beautiful to see and history behind it accessible to all. Very annoying to see lots of people climbing the barriers and climbing the rocks and disrespecting the land despite clear signage to not climb. Do not climb and do not leave a trace please do not litter. Beautiful landscapes, and great to see if you’re in Okotoks.

As the name suggests a big rock in the middle of the grassland. It was Intersting to read the information boards about about how the rock got here from Jasper. Good place just to relax and unwind. There are many parkings and a gravel road leading up to the rock. The only big negative was the state of the public toilet. It was gross and smelled badly. I am not sure if it is always like this.

What a wonderful place for a family outing! Be prepared to come early as it gets busier as the day progresses. Some highlights are: ➡️ The lookout by the valley is phenomenal! (This is a wonderful photo opportunity!) ➡️ Bring bags or empty to boxes to purchase fresh produce at amazing prices: examples: 😁 $4 for a huge handful of fresh kale 😁 $1 for a gigantic zucchini ➡️ If you love giant turtles 🐢, they are very friendly here! 👍🥰 Kids love to visit them! ➡️ If you enjoy freshly made pies, cheese buns and jams, this is the place to visit! ➡️ Saskatoon Berry bushes and other plants are available for purchase. Be prepared to book several hours to soak up the scenery, visit the turtles and browse through the fresh produce market and craft shops. Annie W. Master Reviewer Local Guide / Google Maps

Delightful, unexpected quaint place with amazing views. Tranquil, sounds of nature and beautiful gift shop, restaurant and bakery. Close to the city, a new found place of peace and a great quick place to hangout , shop eat and I cant wait to attend an event. I went midweek off season and it was still worth the drive. So pretty like a little western town full of architecture and detail. Friendly staff and animal mascots, cats and a dog roam around this working farm. Highly recommended for an outing and no entrance or parking fees. My new happy place.

This place was such an unexpected delight on our summer road trip through Calgary! The moment we pulled in I thought, wow, this is gorgeous! You could honestly spend the entire day here just wandering around, exploring, and soaking up all the sights and sounds. The farmers market was amazing, bursting with fresh produce, pickled goodies, meats, milk, honey, and the most beautiful handmade treasures. The shops gave me total Anthropologie vibes!!! I’m obsessed, honestly! And if my wallet would have let me, I could have happily bought one of everything. From clothing to home goods, everything was just so thoughtfully chosen and so pretty!! The people were just as wonderful! Everyone we met had a smile and made us feel so welcome. Outside, there were turkeys and chickens happily strutting about and a breathtaking valley view that felt like a postcard come to life. We snapped photos, soaked it all in, and even enjoyed lunch overlooking that view, absolute perfection! This place is pure magic!!! If you ever get the chance to stop here, please do. It’s the kind of place that fills your heart with joy and makes a road trip feel unforgettable!!

We enjoyed our visit to The Saskatoon Farm. The atmosphere was very warm and inviting, and the service was friendly. The food was tasty, nicely presented, and portions were generous. The variety on the menu is great, and it’s a good spot for both families and couples. That said, the service felt a bit slow at times, which kept it from being a perfect experience. Overall, it’s definitely worth visiting and we would come back again.
Ali B — Google review
Firstly, I have to say that I’ve been coming to The Saskatoon Farm for years, and it has always been one of my favourite places to visit. I’ve never had a bad experience here: the selection of items for purchase is excellent, the markets are always well-organized and fun, the food has never let me down, and the produce is fantastic. So when my (now) husband and I started wedding planning, it was a no-brainer that this would be our top choice for a venue! We recently got married here, and my appreciation and love for The Saskatoon Farm have only grown. Our first tour was with Elena, who also became our main point of contact over the next year and a bit leading up to the wedding. She was incredibly thorough in answering my many (many!) questions and always got back to me in a timely manner. Both Elena and Nicole were also so helpful during our final walkthrough and in the days leading up to the wedding, whether it was during our decor drop-off, floral prep, or set-up instructions, it was clear how much they cared about ensuring we felt at ease and excited for the big day. The wedding day itself couldn’t have been more perfect; it truly was a dream come true. The entire team executed my vision flawlessly: from the custom cocktail hour menu, to the ceremony and reception set-up, to the thoughtful organization of the gift and guest book table, every detail showed so much care. Throughout the evening, they made sure everything ran as smoothly as possible, and I’m endlessly grateful we chose The Saskatoon Farm as our wedding venue. I also have to add that the space itself is PERFECT for a wedding. I highly recommend booking the Sunny Studio for getting-ready photos; it was spacious, beautifully lit, and we were even able to order breakfast and drinks right from the restaurant below. We also chose to add the flower baskets to the ceremony space (the lath house), and that was absolutely the right decision. And finally, I can’t recommend the Saskatoon berry pie enough for dessert! Our guests complimented all the food that evening, but the pie with ice cream was truly unforgettable. We’ll always support this business, and they have truly earned our highest praise. A very special thank you to Elena and Nicole, you played such a huge role in making our day so seamless and unforgettable! - Ioana & Jason

Nature & Parks
Heritage Park, located in Calgary, is a captivating destination that showcases the rich tapestry of Western Canadian history. Spanning over 127 acres, this living heritage museum features the Heritage Park Historical Village, Gasoline Alley Museum, and Heritage Town Square. Visitors can immerse themselves in both indoor and outdoor experiences throughout the warmer months from May to Thanksgiving. The park comes alive with seasonal re-creations featuring actors who bring history to life through engaging performances.
A few months back our family had a wonderfully relaxing day at Heritage Park! It was the perfect spot to slow down, take in some history, and just enjoy being together. My 9-year-old son loved exploring the old-fashioned buildings, riding the vintage train, and seeing how people lived in the past. One of the highlights was the paddlewheel boat ride on the Glenmore Reservoir. It was such a peaceful experience, giving us beautiful views and a chance to just sit back and enjoy the moment. The staff throughout the park were friendly and knowledgeable, making history come to life in such a fun way. We also spent some time at the antique midway, where my son had a blast with the old-school rides. And of course, no visit would be complete without a stop at the bakery for some delicious homemade treats! Heritage Park is a great place for families looking for a mix of education and relaxation. It was a perfect day—no rushing, just enjoying the sights, sounds, and experiences of the past. We’ll definitely be coming back!

A fun, festive, and educational experience for everyone. The Park has an assortment of activities, rides, food, civic museums, and heritage architecture emphasizing the cultural significance of early Prairie settlement/life. It's like taking a step back in time, and it's worth every dollar. 11/10 do recommend.

Heritage Park in Calgary is a fantastic destination for a family outing. The park stands out for its welcoming policy on food and drinks, allowing visitors to bring their own and enjoy a picnic-like atmosphere—a rare perk that saves a lot on expenses compared to other parks where you can easily spend over $100 just on meals. Though tickets are on the pricier side at $36 for adults and $26 for kids, the experience is worth every penny. The park is meticulously managed, from parking to rides and everything in between. It’s incredibly clean, with free water fountains and spotless washrooms, ensuring a comfortable visit. Highly recommended for a day of fun and relaxation!

Really enjoyed coming here. It's like Disneyland, but better, because you can actually learn something about actual frontier life and how Alberta came about as opposed to some fantasized version of how things were. Plus, the Vaudevillian performances were really entertaining. There was something that happened, I don't want to go into the details, but I want to take a chance to thank the staff for handling the incident professionally and being very kind to me and my party.
龔振勝 — Google review
An absolutely wonderful place! The ticket price is well worth it, as it covers more than just a visit to a village—it's an immersive experience. During your visit, you'll watch over five short theater performances, each lasting at least 30 minutes, depicting the rich history of the area. The actors and actresses are incredibly talented, making the stories come to life. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and felt that one day isn't enough to fully appreciate everything this place has to offer. The staff members are all kind and helpful, providing excellent explanations about the site, especially the lady in the mine. You can begin your journey from the parking lot by taking a charming streetcar ride.Unfortunately, the gift shops didn’t have any magnets from this village, which was a bit disappointing.

This is such a wonderful place to visit. Everyone here always makes sure that you are having a good time. Everyone is in costume and stays true to the character they are portraying. There is a steam engine train you can ride as well at the steam ship that goes out along the reservoir. There are tractor rides and horse-drawn wagon rides, all of which are free with admission. There are midway rides for people of all ages. The general store and ice cream shop sell delicious treats, and the bakery is always making fresh baked items for sale. Every exhibit is authentic and has a plaque to describe its original location. There is so much to do that you can easily spend a full day here and not see everything there is to see.
Amanda — Google review
I really enjoyed this place. Wow! If you have children, they will enjoy it as well. I recommend going on the steam locomotive at Shepard Station or riding the S.S. Moyie first (in the same area) then do the other after. After experiencing these attractions, wander the property. Cool off with a local brew at the Wainwright Hotel & Bar Room.

The Calgary Stampede is a renowned annual rodeo festival that takes place in a festival space hosting various shows, live music, entertainment, exhibits, and food stalls. This non-profit organization also offers year-round events like exhibitions, galas, concerts, conferences and rodeos. The festival aims to preserve western heritage and culture while engaging the community through youth initiatives and programs.
It is an amazing 10-day event that takes place every year in July!! It contains fair food, rides, exhibitions, concessions, and so much more! The preferred mode of transport to get to this event would be the c-train as it is much easier to get to and from the grounds to. Parking is available around the grounds. However, it is usually very full/busy and expensive as well. Although it is a super busy venue to attend, there is always something for everyone to do. The kids love the fair games, winning prizes and riding the endless selection of rides. I have attended since I was a child with my family, and it is something I look forward to every year. A "Calgarian tradition" for sure. A great place to spend a day or a few, there's a vast availability of fair foods such as corn dogs, corn, ice cream, fries, lemonade, and so much more!

It could have been just the time of your but it was really difficult to get to this event. Many of the streets were closed. We could not get an Uber anywhere. Could not get taxis. The facility itself was decent inside with a good selection of food. The seeding in the stands a bit tight in places didn't appear. It was built with adults with semi-limited ability to get in and out of the area.

It is truly the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth. The rides, animals, free swag, sponsored activities, free pancake breakfasts, spirit of the west, cowboy theming, spirit of community, games, and fun new foods are just so exciting and satisfying. The only drawback is that the price for food and drinks has skyrocketed out of control that it drains your wallet dry and takes away from the experience. They need a food price cap and a $2.00, $5.00, $10.00 and $15.00 menu offering or something as the prices for food appear unreasonably high. Other than that, you gotta try the dill pickle pizza as it’s fantastic! The poutine and fish and chips are good too!

Stampede is awesome! Coming for 2 years now and loving it. Such amazing human energy, concerts, and multitude of things to do. Cows, tanks, food, drinks, music, cowboy hats, gotta love it.

The main advice for everyone coming next year: make sure to grab an event map at the entrance. There are many free activities besides the Rodeo, but you won’t find them easily if you don’t know where and when they take place. The Stampede is always crowded, but it’s not only about the Rodeo and food.

Went to the Flames vs Jets hockey game on Saturday November 15 2025 at the Saddledome. Good seats, decent burger and beer special at low pre-game price if get there about an hour before the game starts. Security screening at entry much less intrusive than past years. Staff smile way more. Place very clean. Newer sound system better, but cranked too loud which may be on purpose. Saw little kids with hearing protection head sets on. New center ice screens way better. Good contests anc candid shots of spectators on screens engaged the crowd. Bonus was the Flames win in exciting OT shootout!
Bill P — Google review
If you haven't been to the Calgary Stampede, you need to go, at least once. Billed as The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth you'll want to take in the music (Country of course), food, drinks, rodeo, midway rides, and don't miss the Grandstand Show. No expense spared for the best fireworks display I've seen to end the show. Food wagon options include what you may expect at a fair. Some creative combo's along with the expected, such as a smoked Turkey Leg. (a bit pricey at 33.00). Be prepared for line ups and crowds. Advance purchase of admission tickets eliminates at least 1 line. You'll have a great time if you take in some of this 10 day event, and don't forget your Cowboy hat!
Rudy E — Google review
Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth..actually. The rides were so much fun and the showcases in the BMO Centre were awesome. The food stands around the Stampede were amazing but were highly expensive. Getting here was so bad via CTrain, it is so crowded that they couldn’t let people in because it was packed. It was also crowded in Stampede Park of course due to the tourist influx and because it was first day. It was so much fun exploring every inch of the park, one must go to the stampede at least once every time. Would I go back? Definitely. 8/10.

Observation Decks & Towers
The Calgary Tower is a towering landmark offering breathtaking panoramic views from its glass-floored observation deck and revolving restaurant. Situated in the heart of downtown Calgary, it provides stunning vistas of the city's rivers, parks, and surrounding areas. The observation deck offers a 360-degree view of the bustling city, the majestic Rocky Mountains, foothills, and prairies. It's an ideal spot for a romantic evening or to pop the question with its spectacular views and vibrant atmosphere.
Visited the Calgary Tower Observatory while downtown, and the views from the top are fantastic — you can see the entire city and the mountains. The elevator ride is smooth and fast, and there’s plenty of space on the observation deck to walk around and take photos. The glass floor section is a fun addition if you’re feeling adventurous. The staff were friendly and helpful, though I do think tickets could be a bit cheaper for the experience. Overall, still a must-visit spot for anyone wanting a great perspective of Calgary.

The Calgary Tower is a great way to get a full view of the city. The observation deck gives you a 360° look at Calgary and the Rocky Mountains on a clear day. The glass floor is a fun experience and makes for some great photos. The staff are friendly, and the elevator ride to the top is smooth and quick. The visit itself doesn’t take too long unless you plan to eat at the restaurant, but it’s still worth it for the views and the unique perspective of the city. Tickets are a little expensive for the short time you spend there, but it’s one of Calgary’s most iconic landmarks and a nice stop if you’re exploring downtown.

Wow stunning views. And going at sunset is highly recommended! The mountains are a perfect with the sun setting behind them! Food was fantastic! It's so beautiful to see the lights of the city light up below! We went after a long day of travelling and sightseeing so we were casually dressed, but you can dress up super fancy too! It was great!

My visit to the Calgary Tower during a day trip to Calgary was a memorable highlight, offering breathtaking 360-degree views of the city that truly showcased its charm. On a cloudless, sunny day, the conditions were ideal, revealing the distant Rocky Mountains and the urban expanse in stunning clarity. The observation deck, enriched with informative displays identifying key buildings, added an educational layer to the experience, making it both engaging and insightful. The ambiance was pleasant, and the tower stands as a notable tourist attraction in downtown Calgary, with a unique glass floor section that, while smaller than anticipated, provided a thrilling perspective. However, the experience was tempered by certain drawbacks. The tower, while iconic, shows signs of aging and is dwarfed by newer, taller skyscrapers, which slightly diminishes its grandeur The cost—approximately $75 for two, including parking and admission—a bit too steep. The viewing deck offers a decent panorama, but the surrounding skyline is less striking than expected. Overall, the Calgary Tower is well worth a visit for its unparalleled views and historical significance, particularly for first-time visitors to Calgary. Its combination of scenic beauty, informative displays, and cozy ambiance makes it a rewarding stop, best enjoyed on a clear day.

Visiting Calgary Tower is a must for anyone coming to Calgary! The ride to the top is an amazing experience — the panoramic view of the city and the mountains on the horizon is truly breathtaking. Standing on the glass floor is especially thrilling — it takes your breath away, but it’s absolutely worth it! The staff are friendly and welcoming, and everything is well organized and efficient. The restaurant at the top has a great atmosphere and a view you just can’t look away from. A fantastic place to feel the scale of Calgary and take stunning photos. Highly recommended!

The Calgary Tower turned out to be an excellent stop on our trip. Admission is roughly half the price of Toronto’s CN Tower, and since the Calgary Tower is about half the height, it feels like a perfect trade-off—great value without compromising the experience. We timed our visit for around sunset and it couldn’t have been better. The views of downtown Calgary, the Bow River, and the Rockies glowing in the evening light were absolutely stunning. From the glass floor to the 360-degree panorama, every angle offered something memorable. Overall, the Calgary Tower provides amazing scenery and a fair price point that makes it easy to recommend. If you can, plan your visit for sunset—you’ll catch the city at its most beautiful.

It was definitely worth going once! You get to see the city from a view point that’s quite amazing. However it is super important to figure out what time you should go there. I wouldn’t go again though because I do not think the ticket prices are worth multiple visits.
Viraj M — Google review
We didn't buy the ticket to the top but we had a dinner in 360 sky restaurant at the top of the tower. The foods were out of the world and the price was right for a sky tower restaurant. We spent $200 incl tips there, while we spent $500 in Look up tower restaurant in Vancouver, ever the foods here much better than Vancouver. We don't have to wear fancy dress here, casual is okay.

The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo, established in 1929, is a renowned zoo and park located on a 125-acre facility. It houses over 4,000 animals from more than 100 species and is celebrated for its exceptional animal care and habitat design. With an annual influx of over 1.3 million visitors, the institute aims to educate and inspire guests about wildlife conservation.
Had a wonderful time at the Calgary Zoo! The layout is great, lots of animals to see, and the whole place is really well maintained. It was a super hot day when we visited, so I totally understand that the polar bear was probably chilling indoors with the A/C — though I was a little bummed to miss seeing it. That aside, it was still a fantastic experience — from the playful lemurs to the majestic tigers, there was so much to enjoy. Definitely a must-visit if you're in Calgary, and maybe I’ll catch the polar bear next time when it’s not sunbathing weather!

Had an amazing time at the zoo! The staff were friendly and helpful, and we appreciated how clean and well-maintained everything was. There were also plenty of places to take a break, grab a snack, and just enjoy the surroundings. Washroom available in every area. The staff and volunteers are incredibly knowledgeable and always willing to answer questions or share insights about the animals. The exhibits are engaging and informative, making it a great experience for kids and adults alike. I would highly recommend for any age.

Great way to spend your day. Lots of parking fast lines, lots of animals. Most were pretty sleepy while we were there, except the wolves who were prancing around and coming right up to the glass. Tickets are cheaper if bought in advance. I took way too many photos and had a lovely day.

I love visiting the Zoo with my kids. We have coming for over 20 years now. I started coming when I moved to Calgary over twenty years ago. I have enjoyed seeing all the animals. 20 years ago I loved seeing the kangoos and the elephants. When they had bats I didn't like the bats but that is my own phobia of bats I had since I was a child. I remember seeing the sloth back then and one of favorite animals The Kolas. We love ❤️ seeing the Pink Flamingos 💗 and is one of the first ones we go see now. We love the pandas. My son loves the komodoo dragons they are his favorite. We love the Zoo Christmas Lights. We love seeing the red pandas and Tigers and the various animals and birds and the butterfly exhibits when we go visit the zoo. We always enjoy seeing the animals ❤️. In my son's words it's a really cool experience.

Honestly, the Calgary Zoo is way better than I remembered. The layout is really nice since it’s right on the river, but man, it is a lot of walking just like the Toronto zoo! so definitely wear your best/most comfortable running shoes! The penguin plunge is the winner for me seeing them swim that fast underwater is wild. Also my favorite animal lol. The lemur enclosure where you walk right in with them is super cool too. I’d the food it’s can get pretty pricey for basic burgers. But still delicious! If you wanna save a buck just pack a lunch and eat on a bench or find a nice shaded grass spot. If you go for ZooLights in the winter, dress warmer than you think you need to. It gets windy!

Amazing place for a family day out! We visited with kids and everyone had a great time. The grounds are very clean and well maintained, with lots of shade and beautifully designed animal enclosures. We were especially impressed by the penguins, tigers, and the dinosaur park — so realistic! My little one loved the kids’ zoo where you can feed the goats. Staff were friendly, and the café had a nice variety of food. A perfect spot to spend the whole day with family. We’ll definitely be back!

The Zoo is always a great place to visit. However it is a seasonal place, even though they are open year round. We saw lots of animals, but Prehistoric Park was closed along with every food vendor and refreshment stand except for Kitamba Cafe which is an indoor restaurant. I understand this, but my suggestion would be to maybe open certain areas up, weather permitting, so that on the nicer days people still have an opportunity to experience as much as possible. Other than that, it was a great time.
Mikey D — Google review
Lots of construction throughout areas of the park. The only food location opened was by the gift shop, when exiting the zoo; every other food location was closed. Tickets should be discounted during this time. Parking was easy. Staff working in the gift shop were exceptionally friendly.

Prince's Island Park, located in the heart of Calgary, is a former sawmill site transformed into an urban oasis. It offers picnic areas, winding trails, and regular major events. The park features historical landmarks like the Deane House and River Cafe, as well as sculptures and art pieces. Visitors can enjoy recreational activities such as canoeing in summer and cross-country skiing in winter.
It's such a beautiful park. Flower arrangements were very creative. The trees are great. Kids' play structure is newer and a lot of fun. The new black squirrels were neat to see for the first time. Only down side was the men's washroom. Two of the toilets were completely disgusting. The place needs an upgrade badly.

Came here for Folk Fest and it did not disappoint! It is an amazing venue to hold such a popular festival. There are multiple stages with remarkably good sound systems and plenty of natural grass to sit on. The breeze from the river sure is welcome under the hot sun 🌞 There is a great big children's playground here that is quite popular. The benches around it are perfect for parents to sit at while letting their kids burn off their energy. In the Spring there are plenty of Canada geese that nest 🪺 and prepare their goslings for life outside the nest. With all of the natural beauty it is a great escape from the urban jungle just across the bridge.

Super nice quiet park in the heart of downtown. Lots of space, large trees, benches, flower gardens. With the river on both sides it really is a quiet area. Everyone at the park is doing the same thing - just enjoying. Can be super busy on summer weekends or holidays. So bicycling can be a slow process because of the crowds!

Excellent park with broad walkway, washrooms, great view of river and downtown, must visit this park if you are at peace bridge. You can even rent a neuron e bike/scooter to stroll around. Great place to spend a nice evening. Lots of picnic spots were available both shaded and unshaded. Public washrooms were at the River Cafe there is even a playground with lots of kids activity for kids to have fun. Highly recommended park in the heart of Calgary. Parking is mostly on streets on either side of the river. Check out the videos & imaged & follow for more detailed reviews.

Nice park, not far from downtown Calgary if you're on foot. It was cold and windy when we went there, but the parked seemed nice nonetheless. We saw many squirrels and there are beautiful flowers everywhere. Also a good spot to take some pictures of Bow River, but in a sunny day it must be much nicer.

I parked at the Crescent Heights scenic point and walked into the Prince’s Island Park via the connecting stairs. Pro: I did not need to worry about parking and could instead focus on how BEAUTIFUL the park was and how joyful the people were. Con: I had to walk up a gazillion stairs to get back to my car. Depending on your enthusiasm for cardio, this con can become your pro as I saw a bunch of people exercising by running up and down the stairs. I cannot relate. This may be an ignorant American viewpoint, but are Canadians just that much happier and healthier?? I went on a 2-mile (sorry I don’t know what that is in kilometers) walk around the park and not only did I see beautiful views, I also interacted with lovely people. There were many recreational enjoyers of the park and they took the time to look me in the eyes and smiled at me?? The camaraderie was off the charts. With that said, I feel for the homeowners who live right next to the park because they have to deal with very loud car pollution from the road (side facing Crescent Heights). While walking back to my car, I did have the thought that I should’ve brought my noise canceling headphones because it was so loud that I could not think. If the city of Calgary can invest in safer streets by converting that arterial road into bike and pedestrian paths instead, that would make the park experience that much better. It is my wishful thinking, and I think it could work since driving on that road didn’t seem all that stress-free either. It was clogged up with anxious drivers waiting to get the heck out of there, and it was where I heard the first loud horn during my stay in Canada.
Huong D — Google review
Nice place to take a stroll. It is nice to see the park under every different seasons. You will appreciate to sit on a bench and read a nice book while enjoying the scenery. There is a cafe situated in the park if you want to enjoy a hot beverage. Squirrels and ducks will be your companion in your journey.

I visited this park during July end. The park is very beautiful and clean. The neighborhood is lovely. The park is on the banks of Bow River. Water is dark blue and looks very scenic. However, parking was limited. We went to the peace bridge, and even though it was under construction, the bridge looked beautiful.

Where On Earth... Did You Get That? - Antique Mall & Vintage Marketplace

Antique store

Collectibles store
What a gem! Aonibuaally drive out to nanton but over the years they sadly have less and less. But I still go and support. Today I was in town and seen the sign and did a hard turn to go check em out. Massive inventory. Extremely easy to see and look at the pieces. Super fair prices which for how much rent now a days, is that's kinda amazing in itself Imo. Got a silver square tray with little small legs as a plant holder. And a nice vintage Canmore book, Sorry of an era. Anywho. Great staff and side note but kinda says a lot. It smells really nice in there I know that sounds funny but if you do a lot of antique hunting, that's just not something that go together. Will be back in with my wife again soon. Thanks again. MB

Fantastic store if you have some money to spend on collectables. You can find about anything here. Would give 5* but I'm knocking a couple stars off for the staff member that was watching us, pretty sure she though we were stealing because we don't look the the usual clientele. If you have a worry about theft, a security guard should be in place.

I love this store and the family that runs it! Friendly, helpful, and so much fun to find wonderful treasures. Excellent and always changing items! If you like something, get it. Follow them on social for fun stories and neat fresh items. Update: still awesome, and still full of treasures!

I have been to this mall several times and have bought some beer related collectibles and some LPs. Most of the staff has been quite pleasant. But the person I'm assuming is the manager "as I never see him interact with customers" has given me some pretty contentious looks. So I will never set foot in there again.....I'm sure you don't need or want my business and I can find over priced vinyl anywhere.....

Where On Earth... Antique Mall and Vintage Market is a treasure hunter’s dream! This place has an incredible variety of antiques, collectibles, vintage finds, and so much more—no matter what you're looking for, you’re bound to find something unique. The selection is always changing, which makes every visit exciting. The prices are fair, and you can find great deals on one-of-a-kind items. It’s clear that the vendors take pride in their collections, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Saturdays can get pretty busy, and the parking lot fills up quickly, so arriving early is a good idea. But even with the crowds, the experience is well worth it. Plus, they have food available, which is a nice touch when you want to take a break from browsing. If you love antiques, vintage goods, or just exploring a fascinating variety of items, this is the perfect spot. Highly recommended!

Discovery Wildlife Park & Campground offers a unique overnight experience, making it the only zoo in Alberta where you can sleep among the animals. Imagine falling asleep to the sounds of roaring lions and howling wolves! The park is well-equipped with amenities like car rentals, washrooms, tent sites, and cozy cabin rentals for a comfortable stay. Families love spending time here; many enjoy fishing or exploring the animal exhibits while renting golf carts for added fun.
Amazing day out with the kids, the bear show was excellent. I am Canadian but I have been living in Australia and it was so fun to show my Australian kids all of our native Canadian wildlife up close! Also they had reasonably priced golf cart rentals for my elderly grandma so she didn’t have to walk all the way around the park. Definitely recommend!

Excellent place. Well maintained and landscaped. Friendly staff, knowledgeable, and happy to help. The animals seem happy, well provided for. There are golf carts available if mobility is an issue. The paths around the enclosures are well thought out. Where else can you safely get 3 feet from a grizzly? Highly recommended.

I really appreciate the interactions between the animals like the bears, lions, and wolves and their caretakers. It’s a fantastic spot to take your kids and teach them about the importance of caring for animals. I highly recommend it!

It's really a good place to visit. We enjoyed camping and roaming around to see the wild life animals. There is also a bear presentation. So nice! 😉 My whole family enjoyed our 2 nights stay. 💚🌱 The washroom and showers are super clean. Cleaner than hotels😁 We will definitely comeback here. I reschedule our stay here 3 times, they didn't charge us. They are so kind unlike in the other campsite that needs a fee to reschedule it. 🌱

Always a great experience. Team is very knowledgeable. The facility is so clean the wildlife are cared for in such a humane way. Everytime we have gone the keepers are always ensuring the enclosures are spotless. It is a wonderful spot for all ages. Skip the zoo and support a local community you wont regret it. Golf carts are available for ease especially for those who have a harder time walking longer distances. Pack a lunch and spend the day, or pop by the concession for a snack.

Price quite high but beautiful park, many animals in small enclosures despite all the extra un-used land for humans to walk around in. Lots of space for kids to run and play. Very tired and sad looking g animals. Honestly though, they looked very tired or highly lol . Also felt bad for one man lost his 2$ and the poor deer heard the coin go in and waited for over an hour for the treats to come out! Such a tease. So sad. Told 4 staff and not one went to fill the treats. Also this was before noon, so …. Not cool. Would love to see more going I. I. This great place, hire a pro facepainter, sell balloons or hire a balloon clown, so much potential here. Please make the fences larger and help the animals feel more happy/awake ? Many animals stuck to the camp side of fence so was hard to see those ones . Such as camel and lamas… lived the art and nice gift shop. The reptiles should not be I. There first tho g people see who have a huge fear. Should have a more separate area for those types, such as Yyc zoo has.
Lauren — Google review
Overall the site is nice. I would recommend the wildlife park. They have friendly staff, lots to see and you can get fairly close to the animals. Some of the staff work both sides (Wildlife park and campsite). For me I felt that the campsite staff truly did not care about our experience while staying for two nights. We did change our reservation a night before to a cabin, and I was happy that they took the time to do that… but what they didn’t tell us was that there were 5 families using that site for tenting. They crammed us in regardless and they took our full payment for a 6 person cabin stay- even though we had a 4 person cabin (an older version not shown on the website). I asked where we could set up our fire bowl and they said that we have the patch of grass in front of the cabin. Very tight. The next day the large group left so we were able to take advantage of the normal space we would of had. A lot of people left that day so we were enjoying the space. The negative is that because of the lack of people at the campsite, they locked up more of the facilities we had access to. Instead of two washrooms we had one. Same with the showers. Only one was available instead of 4. I feel like they were saving time and effort to clean them, but given there still were campers at the site, people were just having to wait in line. I would recommend staying on a weekday. Weekends are just crammed with people and camp sites are too close together. There isn’t much to do other than fish in the pond, so if you’re not there to see the wildlife, take your business to a real campsite. There is not forest to explore, no open fires (even for cooking) and you have to bring your own water ( or pay a fee). I spend over $400 for two nights. I didn’t see the value for what we experienced.

A must stop. This place was cool. Some walking involved. Rest stops and coverage along the way if it rains. You can rent a golf cart if needed. $20 an hour to rent. Staff were informative and friendly. The main building and bathrooms are in good condition and clean. You get to get pretty close to the animals. There’s even Dino’s along the walk as well as play structures.

Checked out this wildlife sanctuary in the middle of Red Deer today. There is an interpretive center and washrooms as well as meeting rooms etc. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. You can take the paved 1km path or the 4km trail. I chose the 4k going left as it was less climbing versus taking it to the right. It was not crowded and quite a pleasant first visit. The park has a beautiful grass area to sit and enjoy the lake-view. It’s a fun place with family and friends. There is also a light house to watch around.

This magnificent lake park offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the urban life without leaving the city. The lush greenery, majestic botanicals, gentle wind breeze, the iconic light house, local cafès, pubs and restaurants, breathtaking sunsets, and calm, beautiful lake... it's the perfect place for picnics, jogging, or simply unwinding with nature. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat to re energize, re calibrate, relax, and rejuvenate. Can't wait to revisit ❤️.

Probably my favorite beach in Alberta traveled here from Edmonton about an hour and a half drive, but come at least five times a year to do some jet skiing. The weather was perfect. The atmosphere was always nice and clean and they had the Battle of the beaches this weekend which added an extra vibe. I wish there an event on the beach every weekend playing music. It was awesome and everybody loved it.

An absolute beauty.. The beach park was sparsely populated making it a perfect getaway for couples and families.. We went on the Thanksgiving Day and would visit again..
AMIT P — Google review
Lots of space to find your own spot on the grass next to the water. Easy access down cement staircase into the water (3 or 4 steps with centre railing). Minimal to no rocks in the water/ sand while swimming, clean, no leaches, lots of smaller fish, minnows and wildlife. Shallow water and easy to swim. There was paid parking with lots of spots right next to the lake front, I paid approximately $9 for 3 hours. It's an app you can download or scan qr code, credit card or card only. Good option for restaurants in the area and other local stores close by. Overall would recommend it's a great place for a day trip or longer. I would travel to this lake again.

Kraay Family Farm, Home of the Lacombe Corn Maze, is a delightful destination that promises fun for all ages. This hidden gem in Alberta features an impressive life-size corn maze that transforms with creative designs each year, making every visit unique. Families can enjoy a variety of activities including petting zoos and mini-games, ensuring there's never a dull moment. Visitors rave about the joy of exploring the maze and playing in the giant corn pit—perfect for kids!
We had a lot of fun today dodging the weather. So much to do for any aged visitor. We even found more things to do while leaving, so we will have to return to try those things. Bring lots of quarters to feed the critters.

We visited Kraay Family Farm the year before and had an absolute blast — so we came back again this year, and it was awesome 👍. They’ve added lots of new attractions like the piggy ride, the manpower rollercoaster, tubing, paintball, and more. Everything is well maintained, and we appreciated the drinking water stations and hand washing stations set up throughout the farm. The staff were super friendly, and being able to purchase admission online (and save!) made things even easier. The punch card was a great value — especially if you’re a fan of their hot chocolate. There were so many activities that even after 6 hours, we still didn’t get to everything. It’s a fantastic place to spend time with the kids — and we adults had a lot of fun too!

We had a fantastic day at the Kraay family farm! Our granddaughter said we have to do this every year. It was the highlight of our summer! I've heard it called "Alberta's Disney land" & I would concur. We had so many favorite things like the tube slide, the roller coaster, you have to wind it up. Ha ha Probably my personal fav was the singing chicken piano. Everything was well maintained and the staff were friendly. All in all a very enjoyable day!

We came here for sunflower pictures. But ended up doing almost all of the activities and there is alot of activities. We also had supper there and everyone enjoyed their meals and the ice cream they had after. A great addition to central alberta.

Great family experience. They’ve got the services dialled in. So much stuff for the kids to do, we have a 4 & 1 year old and could’ve been there 5+ hours easily. Purchased a punch pass which got us all the extras we needed. We’ll be back next year to hire a tent and BBQ with others.

Took our grandsons and we had a blast! Lots to do for all ages! My only tip, The food court was very expensive so bring in your own food.
Glenda P — Google review
Friday night we went, super busy with teens, it's expensive with $40 a person but there is a ton to do. I don't really understand the QR code bit through the corn maze but that's okay it was still fun :)

Specialty Museums
The Reynolds-Alberta Museum is a celebration of machines that have impacted lives worldwide. This internationally acclaimed museum offers hands-on activities and exhibits for all ages, allowing visitors to interact with the machines on display. With over a hundred well-preserved vehicles, including vintage cars, motorcycles, and farming equipment from the 1910s to the 1950s, the museum provides a nostalgic journey through time.
I recommend visiting. An incredible collection with a huge number of interesting exhibits: cars, helicopters, airplanes, various equipment. This museum will be interesting for all ages. This is a huge exhibition that occupies several large rooms, and some exhibits are also presented outside. A fascinating journey into the world of technology. You can see the cars up close and sit in some of them. The cinema is a special delight.

An impressive collection of cars, revealing the history of agricultural machinery and aviation... and more. You'll definitely enjoy spending a couple of hours here. For children, there are plenty of activities to help them understand physics and mechanics

A must-visit for car and airplane lovers! If you love cars and airplanes, this museum is the place to go! I visited and really enjoyed it — they have a huge collection of well-preserved classic cars and oldtimers. The entire place is very well organized, and there’s so much to see. I spent about two hours there, and it flew by. There’s also a separate area with airplanes, which was just as impressive. I absolutely loved this place and highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area!

Went there to check out the restaurant and ended up enjoying the museum…so glad we did! It was a very cheap activity for the amount of time we spent there. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and the museum was very clean, organized and had many cool vehicles to view! Will include some photos but you need to check out the rest in person…also, hit up the restaurant for an excellent burger!
Phat B — Google review
The best museum and collection for those of us that like things with motors. With motorcycles, planes, farm machinery, construction machinery and cars and trucks they have a bit of everything and some of their collection are very rare and interesting. They are also always changing up the exhibits so it's never the same each time you visit.

Took the kids to the Reynolds Museum in Wetaskiwin and we all had a blast. The mix of classic cars, planes, and hands-on exhibits kept everyone entertained. There’s so much to see, and it’s really well put together. A great family stop — we’ll definitely be back!

The Reynolds Museum was absolutely worth the drive! What a fantastic place to visit with kids — engaging, educational, and fun. The collection of vehicles is phenomenal, with beautifully curated and well-done displays. We’re so glad we made the hour-long trip; it was time well spent.

Nature & Parks
Pigeon Lake Provincial Park offers a unique camping experience with its wheelchair-accessible yurts that provide a blend of comfort and nature. The park features spacious and well-treed campsites, equipped with essential amenities like power, washrooms, and garbage/recycling facilities. Additionally, visitors can enjoy the tranquility of nature while taking advantage of the central shower building and various toilet options available throughout the park.
Visited on 29 September. Amazing place. There was 50 kph wind blowing which made it very cold outside (feel was -1 at 6 pm). However the place was still so very beautiful. The autumn colors of the trees, flying leaves, high waves, all was amazing.
Shahzad A — Google review
The camping site is large, with flush toilets and free showers. The lake is beautiful and the children's playground is nice. The neighbors are quiet, but the birds are too noisy.

Mid September camping trip. Daughter and I had a great time! Love the trail system. Well maintained and great for biking or walking. Only downside is the nasty lake.
Trevor C — Google review
Great campground, but the lake can be hit or miss.. the water had a decal matter warning and blue/green algae, and smelled quite horrendous as well.. campsite itself was very nice though.
Sean M — Google review
Beautiful provincial campground. Well treed, and nicely spaced out. The trails are very well maintained, and easy to ride our ebikes on, with benches to take a break on along the way. Beach is sandy, but didn't try out the lake as it was a bit to chilly. We were here the first week of September. Some of the sites are huge, can easily put in a 30-35 ft trailer, plus another smaller one, and your tow vehicles. They have group camping as well. Not all loops have power, but there's a dump station on site and potable water to fill your tank.
Roxanne F — Google review
Great provincial park. Staff were very helpful fast and easy check in. Once you find your site you’ll notice they are spacious and nicely treed for privacy. Garbage and recycling station spaced perfectly throughout each loop. There are flush toilets and drop toilets through also. Some of the flush toilets have an outside sink with hot and cold water to clean dishes. There is a central shower building that are free to all campers. We stayed in a group camp site that fit 5 trailers comfortably. The layout of trails all lead to the park/beach area which is perfect as trying to drive there is a bit of a round about way as it’s not clearly marked. The water did have blue green algae when we went. Periods of the day it was clear at the beach roped off swimming area so it wasn’t all that bad and just hit the showers after swimming. The dump station has 4 Sani dumps which helps when leaving on a busy check out days. Great experience over all will stay again.

We arrived around 530pm on the 26th, and there was no one working, so there was no way to get firewood or check in so we still drove in and set up and checked in the next day but no fire wood the first night kinda sucked. The next night, someone was there until 8 pm, so check their hours maybe. Campgrounds are well maintained. We were in the Bs. 5 min walk to the park and beach, If you use the trail. It was private but not secluded. Bathrooms were nearby, and they weren't porty potties. They were actual bathrooms. We had our 4 dogs with us, which worked out nice they were great. There were other dogs around, and a good chunk of them did bark a lot.... but turn the music up, and you're good. 11pm things got quieter, but we still had the fire going and low music just like everyone else. The beach is beautiful... but did have a public notice of swimmers itch reported even though it wasn't on the website. So we made sandcastles and just dipped our feet in ( and washed and rubbed them after). They have kayaks you can rent ( you download an app, etc ). Near the beach is a park-older but still nice. Handicap accessible. Also, there is a big green space you can use. Drinking is allowed at the picnic tables. There are bathrooms ( porter pottys) in the area. This area was fairly busy throughout the day. Showers are free, and when we went at 1pm, were busy for the women's. Pressure and temperature were perfect. One showers pressure was insane but I tried 2 more, and they were perfect. There is no designated place to brush your hair or do makeup, which was fine for me-there is two/three sinks, but then you're blocking everyone who just wants to wash their hands from using the bathroom. So area could be used if not busy. There is a small concession area that you stand outside of and can buy things for camping. For food, they generally only had ice cream. This is where you also buy firewood. Campground is only a 12 min drive from the Village of Pigeon lake and they had some cute places to visit. Overall really nice campground and would stay here again.

Nice rec center. Big and confutable. The rink was too cold. There are three rinks in the rec center and curling club.

Came here for a work project outside the front of the centre and went into the centre for a burger at the loft, huge rec centre with curling rinks and a hockey rink and a gym for pickleball or badminton. The burger at the loft restaurant upstairs was very good, probably one of the best burgers ive had in a long time, the patties were juicy and the gentleman running the loft restaurant was great and informative about the food including the meat being halal, very friendly and was joking with him about having a beer going back outside for work.i will definitely be going to the leduc rec centre again just for the burgers at "the loft",I will go out of my way wherever I am in leduc and have a burger here, very cheap as well the double loft burger with bacon cost me 13$.great service, friendly people and amazing tasting food for a cheap price will definitely keep me a fan of this place for life.

A wonderland of fun-tastic discoveries and imagination. So much better than the snake filled swimming hole I grew up with. This place had NO snakes and NO broken glass. Also... Tons of water!!! Like gallons of water - and all perfectly contained. Nothing at all like the dirt filled swimming hole I grew up with... You can really swim in this place and it's all nice and legal!

Great place! The atmosphere is beautifully calm. I had my son complete his summer 1 lesson here, and it was a great experience. The instructor is very good and professional. He completed it with an actual certification document 😂. Unlike the last center that he did not receive anything for completion.

It's too far from us for me to give it four stars but there's a nice pool here with one big water slide (adults cannot go with small children) and four small slides in the wading pool (great for ages 5 and under) some of the spray features were not working when we went but the ones that were on were nice. There's a rope swing and climbing wall in the deep end for big kids that can do their lap (without a life jacket for the wall) and a lot of space in the deeper pool (seems like no one took large floaties to that side so I'm not sure it's allowed). One of the best features here is that they have two hot tubs! I think this is great because one can get pretty crowded sometimes. The indoor playground is small, mostly designed for 5 and under.

Had an unpleasant experience with a manager leissa she is really rude doesn't know how to behave n very disrespectful lady Unprofessional management worst place zero ratings. I was told I had to stay with my child all time in a way that felt unnecessarily forceful and inappropriate. While I understand the importance of supervision, the way the lifeguard communicated was unprofessional and made me feel uncomfortable. I believe staff should be trained to enforce rules in a respectful, clear, and courteous manner. This experience left me feeling uncomfortable, will never go back and I hope steps can be taken to ensure better communication in the future.
Ruhi D — Google review
I recently attended preschool 3 at the Leduc Recreation Centre with instructor’s Mila . Unfortunately, the instructor appeared unprofessional and very disorganized, which made the session confusing and frustrating. There was no clear structure or guidance, and it felt like little effort was put into preparing the class. She often seemed unprepared and gave very little guidance, which made it difficult to follow along. I felt she just came to have fun. Didn't even try to do any effort to help the kids improve any skills. I wish I will never see her again training my kids.

Nature & Parks
The University of Alberta Botanic Garden is a sprawling 240-acre natural oasis located just outside Edmonton. It boasts an impressive array of plants from around the globe, themed gardens, and serene water features. The highlight is the traditional Japanese-style Kurimoto Garden with its winding pathways, tranquil ponds, and lush greenery. Families can enjoy the children's map with attractions like a castle and hedge maze.
Such an amazing garden in our own back yard! The property is expansive, with acres of garden, ponds, and fountains to enjoy. Our family loved the Japanese garden, with a beautiful bridge over the coy pond. If you enjoy gardens, don't hesitate to come check it out. The price was very reasonable for a family, at around $40.

A peaceful and well-maintained space, perfect for a quiet stroll. It wasn’t crowded when we visited, and the weather was lovely. The garden has charming little ponds and a variety of flowers, though we missed seeing them at full bloom. Would love to come back during peak season!

Wonderful way to spend some time in Nature. Dianne on Reception was helpful with her explanations, hints & tips. Espresso coffee available in the cafe. The Japanese Garden & the Agha Khan garden were highlights. We visited on the last day the summer flowers were in full bloom. The deciduous trees & bushes were in full golden or red glow. Great paths, well-signposted throughout.
Robert C — Google review
I and 4 others of my adult family members came to the gardens today. There is a lot of space for weddings and catered events so that part is nice but the gardens themselves were not as great as I hoped. It was more weedy and wild than I remembered last time I came over 5 years ago. It would be nice if the flowers and plants had more labels in English than in Latin or whatever they are. I found the map to be confusing so not as helpful as I hoped. The cafe and shaded tables and sitting area there is very nice, the paths are mostly nice with brick walkways. I enjoyed the showhouses that are like greenhouses with tropical and desert plants. Nicely done! Lots of wonderful plants to see but I feel better labels would be nice. Also some benches are far off the paths so that was not as convenient for my elderly father in law. I’m sure it’s all so much work so thanks for the scenic walk we had today!

A soul-soothing escape into nature 🌿 The University of Alberta Botanic Garden is pure magic. From the tranquil Japanese Garden to the breathtaking Aga Khan Garden, every corner invites peace, reflection, and awe. I spent the day wandering through lush greenery, cascading fountains, and quiet forest paths—each moment felt like a gentle hug from nature. If you love calm, beauty, and soulful connection with the outdoors, this place is a must. Perfect for a picnic, a mindful stroll, or simply letting your spirit breathe. Grateful for this serene sanctuary just outside Edmonton. 🌸💚

Great gardens. Well kept, beautiful, and a nice walk. Would visit again. The gardens had many different trails to explore, with lots of flowers. They even had an indigenous garden! The staff was very friendly checking in and the gardeners were doing very hard work in the hot sun. The plants were arranged super nicely and were well maintained-with the only spot having weeds was the vegetable garden. Overall, a must visit place if you are a tourist in Edmonton- or a local!

A beautiful and peaceful place perfect for a quiet stroll. The University of Alberta Botanic Garden offers a great variety of well-maintained outdoor gardens, charming ponds, and colorful flowers. The Kurimoto Japanese Garden is especially serene and picturesque. Not crowded during our visit, and the lovely weather made it even better. Definitely worth visiting, especially in peak bloom season!
Pasang S — Google review
The University of Alberta Botanic Garden is a beautiful and peaceful place to visit, with a great variety of plants and well-maintained outdoor gardens. The Kurimoto Japanese Garden was definitely a highlight—so serene and picturesque! However, I expected a bit more organization, especially in the indoor areas. The domes were a little disappointing; they felt neglected with dirty seatings and some untidy spots, which took away from the experience. A bit more attention to cleanliness and upkeep would make a big difference. Overall, it's a lovely garden with lots to explore, but a few small improvements could elevate it to a 5-star experience. Still worth a visit, especially on a nice day!
