Just a beautiful experience. This is a place that people can tell you about, like I am, but you will not appreciate the true beauty and vastness of this park until you visit for yourself. Everywhere you look the sights are breathtaking. At times I found myself just staring taking in the view being lost in nature.

The most beautiful place myself and family have been. Truly wonderful, peaceful, and a majestic testimony to God the creator. Canadian Rockies are so vast! Amazing colors to glacier-fed rivers and lakes. See actual glaciers as they descend from waterfalls to streams to lakes and to rivers.

Visiting Banff National Park is one of the most unforgettable trips that you will ever experience. To start, the 4 hour drive from Calgary will provide you with a road trip and scenery that is jaw-dropping, and that's just the "tip of iceberg" of what you will see once you arrive at the park. I HIGHLY recommend that you do not stay for less than a week because there is SO much to see, visit, walk, canoe, cable car, and drive that you will do yourself a disservice. The countless trails to hike, lakes to visits, animals to see (including grizzly bears), and mountain tops to climb will leave you stunned. The clear forest air, sounds of wildlife, rushing rivers, and waterfalls are things you will not forget. A rental car is an absolute must, with plenty of accommodations to be had, depending on where you want to visit and how much you want to drive. And drive you will do in order to get the full experience. The topography is unlike anything you have seen, as you drive through closed canopy forests, open fields, amazing canyons, and even glaciers. You will see wildflowers of so many varieties and colors that your eyes will dance with excitement. You will wish you had a hammock to tie between trees or a comfortable blanket to lay in the massive fields of tall grass to enjoy a nap that you've probably never experienced or will. Go and do your heart, mind, and soul some good. Please respect the untouched beauty and throw your trash away in designated places.

An absolutely breathtaking park. This whole area of Canada has some of the most stunning landscapes I have ever seen. Getting around is easy, all highways lead to Banff. Make sure you buy a park pass ahead of time. I spent 7 days here and it wasn't enough to experience everything Banff has to offer. There are so many lounges and hotels to stay in, book way in advance since they fill up quickly.

Stunning landscapes with so much natural beauty. A photographer's dream. One of the most gorgeous places on earth we have visited. The turquoise color of water is unbelievable. Great infrastructure, well maintained highways. Have visited both in Summer and Winter.

My husband and I went to Banff with our toddler 9/18-25/24. It was chilly, and in the mornings, it sometimes got to below freezing. I wore leggings, a t-shirt, and a heavy fleece jacket with a beanie and it was enough to keep me warm! Wear layers so you can peel off as you hike. We wore trail runners and those were adequate for hiking. We stayed in Canmore and drove into Banff, which really wasn’t too far. *NOTE: Get a bus pass to Moraine Lake and Lake Louise. We weren’t able to get the Parks Canada shuttle, so we went with a private company, Fairview Limousine Shuttle. It was CA$25 for Lake Louise and CA$35 for Moraine Lake per person, but if you wanted to do sunrise, it was like 3x the price. We did the shuttle to Moraine Lake at 7:15 am, so we got there just after sunrise, at 7:45. It was so cloudy that day that being there for sunrise wouldn’t have been worth it anyway. Thursday, 9/19 - Peyto Lake (.8 miles total) - Got there at 1:30 pm, there were enough parking spots. Took less than 30 minutes total, including stopping for pics. Stay on the trail! The trees are incredible and smell amazing!! Absolutely stunning views. They have toilets with no running water in the parking lot. - Bow Lake - Walked around a bit, didn’t really hike. We heard there’s a nice hike, which we would’ve done if we hadn’t started so late in the day! - Mistaya Canyon (.7 miles total) - Took 20 minutes, pretty!! Friday, 9/20 - Johnston Canyon to Upper Falls (3.4 miles total) - Got there at 8 am on a rainy and cold day, so there was plenty of parking. By the time we got down at 10:40, parking lot was full. Bathrooms with running water at the start. Because it was rainy and cold, the trail was almost empty. Very pretty! Took us a little over 2 hours, including stopping for lunch. We would’ve loved to do Ink Pots, but the toddler was cranky. - Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park - Got there at noon and it was packed, had to park far away. Stroller-friendly boardwalk. Amazing views. Little cafe and bathrooms without running water. We were there for about 30 minutes, but there are plenty of trails if you choose to hike! - Natural Bridge - Got there at 1 pm, found a parking spot. Bathrooms without running water. Quick stop, very cool. Saturday, 9/21 - Tunnel Mountain Summit from Upper Parking Lot (2.6 miles total) - At 8:45 am, plenty of parking. Very cold—below freezing. Took us 50 minutes to get up with stops and pictures, spent 30 minutes at the top but it was just so cold. Took us less than 30 min to get down. The elevation gain was challenging. - Two Jack Lake - Very pretty viewpoint! Go down the gravel path and look on either side for lovely views. - Lake Minnewanka - Eh, skip it. - Johnson Lake - Plenty of parking at 12:45 pm. Easy hike around the lake. Not worth it. Sunday, 9/22 - Took Fairview Limousine Shuttle to Moraine Lake. - Moraine Lake: Rockpile Trail (.8 km loop): Got to the lake at 7:45 and the shuttle left at 9 which was more than enough time. Quick walk up to take pics, hung out up there to pass the time until the bus came back. - Lake Louise: Lake Agnes Tea House Trail (3.4 km one way): Lake Louise was STUNNING. Completely uphill hike to tea house with stairs at the end. We stopped a lot of times and drank a lot of water. Took 1:15 on the way up. Lake Agnes was fine, but nothing compared to Lake Louise. Spent about an hour at the tea house, the wait really wasn’t that long. Got tea, vegetable soup, biscuits, a cookie bar. Took an hour to get down. Much easier going down, but hard on the knees. Monday, 9/23 - Hoodoos - Fine, pretty short. We followed the sign someone had written on and didn’t go past where the trail ended because there were. no views past it. If you don’t have time, this is fine to skip. - Bow River - We stopped at the Bow Falls Viewpoint for a picnic lunch. It was so peaceful. We didn’t do the trails, but I’m sure it would’ve been lovely. Even just stopping there for lunch was so nice. Highly recommend! Banff was incredible. Don’t pass it up!

Absolutely magical. I was able to spend 4 days here: 1 day visiting the touristy lakes, 2 days hiking, and 1 day cycling. The down sides are the overwhelming number of people that are here and the speed at which people drive on the main road, which I noticed everywhere in Alberta. Neither are the fault of the park so no reason to lower the rating, but it does mean this was probably the only time I’ll visit. I highly recommend Sunshine Meadows for a fantastic hike with less people!

Very easy trail. It is a quick walk to the waterfall. Pretty spectacular waterfall coming out of the hillside, good swimming hole for hot days. Not a lot of people there.

It's a nice and quiet place to enjoy the nature. The eagle falls itself is probably the top attraction but I also liked the nature trail.

A beautiful and short hike to do with friends or family. Trail is very flat and easy. The view of Running Eagle Falls at the end is wonderful, and a classic image of Glacier Park. Would definitely recommend if looking for something quick to do with a nice payoff.

Truly incredible cave waterfall. The half mile walk in is paved if you take the right hand path and very accessible for those with mobility problems.

Came out last week. Low crowds, easy in and out. Great short one for any kiddos, easily do this and a few other ones if your planning the day out. Good stroll along the stream as well!

Perfect and quick little hike to a very interesting waterfall. Due to high water levels, both falls were going. Highly recommend.

We had the best time at Two Medicine Lake. It was definitely more slower paced, peaceful and not nearly as overcrowded when compared to the other side of the park.

The most beautiful place in Glacier National Park. So serene and beautiful hard to leave. There are plenty of day hikes all around this place. The boat launch is nearby for a trip across the lake to do a hike to Twin Falls or walk 4 miles or so around. There is a General Store that offers some souvenirs and snack items . Park workers are enthusiastically friendly and helpful. Goats roam the campground area freely be sure to drive through campground area section as well and park and enjoy the views and trails

I walked to the shore and sat down to meditate, but started crying immediately. I'm not sure if it was just the stunning beauty and the peace I felt, or if it was something more. What I am sure of is that I only experienced a little taste of why the indigenous people named this place Two Medicine. There's something healing about it.

Two Medicine Lake, nestled in the southeastern corner of Glacier National Park, offers a serene and less-traveled alternative to the park’s more frequented areas. Definitely worth the trip if you want to get some beautiful pics. As far as a mountain lake setting, it’s hard to beat.

Very serene, quiet, and very real. We hiked to lake, Falls and outlook. Steep hike to outlook. Beats are in the area, we did see a partial grizzly and appreciated the loud growls after we cleared the area.

Beautiful area for hiking and sightseeing! Driving is a little steep and road is narrow. Parking is hard to get in the day time.

What a PLACE!!! Absolutely stunning. Be sure to plan ahead and get the right passes. You need a pass to access the road and parking fills up fast. But the gorgeous hikes, views and wildlife sightings are unlike any others. It’s worth it to get up there early and watch the sunrise!

The short (about 3 miles round-trip) hike captures the majestic beauty of Glacier NP. More often than not, Bearhat Mountain & Hidden Lake are graced by the iconic mountain sheep with pure white coats. The toughest part of the trip is finding a parking spot at Logan Pass. Best plan is get to Logan Pass before sunrise or simply roll the dice. One plan is drop one couple off, return in 1.5 hours, and second couple takes the hike and pictures.

Have visited a few times. Incredible views at Logan Pass which is about 6,400'. Trails here a little strenuous yet if you take your time, you'll likely find it was worth it. Since the park is open 24/7, we came back at midnight and took some cool night sky pictures. No light pollution at all. Glacier National Park is a splendid awe-inspiring view of nature at it'la finest.

Beautiful area. If you don’t want to fight for parking you need to arrive EARLY. Arrived at 6:30am got one of the last parking spots.

A must-see on Going to the Sun road in Glacier. Very, very busy area though and we could not find parking anywhere around the Pass which was disappointing.

There's no parking, too many mountains, the roads feel unsafe, the trails feel unsafe, it smells like DS, Devon kept marching ahead and wouldn't slow down, my knee hurts...2 stars

Like all the hikes in Glacier National Park, this one is amazing and unforgettable, but has the bonus of being a very easy hike compared to most in Glacier. Also arrived at the parking lot around 9 a.m. on a Saturday and there were plenty of spots.

It is one of the most popular hikes in Glacier National park, Montana. Lots of stairs & it is an uphill trail to the beautiful lake. The trail of hidden lake starts behind the Logan pass visitor center.The view is amazing. We saw five big horn sheep on the trail. The lookout wooden platform is well maintained. The hike is moderate but worth it. You have to park your vehicle in Logan pass visitor center. Finding a parking spot is very difficult.

This is an amazing spot with a beautiful lake. It’s mostly boarded so easy to climb up. It is all up most of the first half but not a difficult hike. Fairly short. We saw mountain goats and rams. A beautiful experience. It does get very busy and the parking lot is fairly small so expect to wait for parking or have to leave and come back at another time

While parking is a major challenge at Logan Pass, this is a hike worth taking. One of the best, if not the best, in Glacier National Park. It’s a boardwalk for much of it, so very easy, with only moderate elevation. The non-boardwalk parts are easy dirt trails. You can’t get lost. The “lookout” is a 1.5 mile straight shot and gets you to about 8000 ft. So 3 miles round trip. You can hike down another 1.5 miles down to the lake, but that obviously makes the hike an additional 3 miles. This is a must do hike, at least to the lookout. VictorB

What can I say. This is the most beautiful lake scenery in the whole Montana state. I love the hike and the sights all around the trail is just amazing. Anyone in the area must see this place. Views are breathtaking. Trust me these pictures doesn’t do the justice. It’s a place that need to be on your bucket list. I can not wait to go there again.

One of the beautiful alpine lakes in Glacier National Park. The start of the trail is through Logan pass. The trail takes you to the overlook and through the overlook there’s another trail that leads you down to the lake. Since the trail starts from Logan Pass, finding a parking spot is very challenging, so make sure you leave early. Chances of seeing wild goats on this trail is quite high. Also bear spotting is high when you walk down towards the lake from the overlook. During our time, the trail to the lake was closed because of the bears, so have your bear spray ready.

A fantastic museum with an impressive collection of horse-drawn carriages and beautifully curated exhibits. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and the live demonstrations add a special touch. Great for families and history lovers alike!

This museum was a revelation Learned so much history of the province I’m Born and raised and live in. Sounds like it might be boring but it’s actually quite interesting and has amazing carriages. Who knew they were so high?

Must visit place in southern Alberta. Shows the rich history of carriages. Very well maintained!

We visited the Remington Carriage Museum in Cardston, AB during Seniors Week, when admission for seniors like us was free. we enjoyed the collection of carriages, wagons, and sleighs and the exhibits so much that we made a donation to the museum as we were leaving. The collection and the information about the collection was excellent. We also talked with one of the restorers in the restoration shop. They explained what kind of work went into preparing carriages, wagons, and sleighs for display and how long some of the work takes to do. Several school classes on field trips were also enjoying the museum while we there. The museum has the largest collection of carriages, wagons, and sleighs in the world. If you're ever in southern Alberta I highly recommend that you visit the museum and enjoy it's collection, displays, and exhibits. The Horse University exhibit was a hit with the students during their field trip.

This place is rich with history, amazing collection of carriages and very well restored. Absolutely the best place to visit for a family, showcases Alberta and Canadian history in a nice manner.

Really interesting. Lot of fun. If you like working with metal or wood they have a workshop where they restore carriages. For the kids, they have fun interactive games that they can play (ask at the front counter). You can also take a ride on a horse drawn buggy. The staff is very friendly.

This is such a gem of a museum! There are so many restored carriages, it’s unbelievable! I liked the informational displays telling the story of a particular carriage and the times it’s been used, so much history learned on a single museum visit! Me and my kids loved it 😍 The carriage ride was fun as well. If you are visiting Waterton National Park, I highly recommend making a drive to Remington Carriage Museum, it’s just about 40 minutes away but so-so worth it! I think even driving from Calgary to this museum is totally worth it.

Visited the Galt Museum for the first time on the weekend. My first thoughts of the museum is nice and clear and very bright. Lots to take in if you like to read but if you're more of hands on learner like myself you may be a little disappointed as a few interactive displays weren't functional at all. Check out my photos and videos to see what I am talking about. The washrooms in this museum were very clean and bright. Staff were nice and friendly also there is a gift shop and just like most gift shops they have some pricey items. Over all for the price to visit it was worth it. But I hope management see's the review and fix the broken things.

I visited this place first time for Diwali Celebration program. I must say I’m totally impressed and enjoyed a lot. The place was very clean and spacious. The people are very polite and helpful. We really enjoyed the performance. The location of this museum is amazing, ample of parking available for visitors. I will definitely visit again to explore the historic side of the city. I like the small store at entrance. Definitely great place to visit with family/friends. I’m looking forward for more such events to cherish the cultural diversity.

Visited the museum last week (on a Thursday) with my two school age children. We go to a lot of museums, so enjoy the adventure. There are two options for kids to do for scavenger hunts, and that's fantastic. We always enjoy that option so that the kids take more time to actually look at the displays. The prize box after made them very happy. The facility is nice and clean,and staff is friendly. (Although the cashier was quite pushy for me to purchase a seasons pass, despite me saying no thank you. Not in a mean way, just in a way that was like a commission salesperson. 😁) The displayes are very full of information, and the gift shop is well stocked. There are even a few interactive displays that were fun to experience. I gave the museum only 3 stars simply for the price. For the size of the display area, it was pretty expensive.

Small but well put together museum. Very modern building, with an archive on the bottom floor. Friendly museum staff. The admission fee is very reasonable. Many tables to escape the heat with a wonderful view.

Smaller but interesting museum. Lots of interactive displays, history, education, good for kids and adults. I loved the indigidous history displays. Some larger then. Life displays as well as room recreations. View is really good in the lobby. Lots of trails surrounding hills, pack water!

Great building, great location, great view from the building, however, from my personal research on Lethbridge there is so much information, history, and culture that has been missed at this museum, the display lacks quality curation and just seems like a jumbled mess of artifacts, I’ve seen much better organized collections in much smaller towns. I felt like the gift shop area was larger in size than most of the exhibit areas, the old hospital that holds the museum is severely under represented, and the exhibits present are very biased, which take up most of the small exhibit space as the entire building seems to serve different applications than that of a museum/archive.

Just paid $12 to spend 20 minutes looking at exhibits on not being racist. They had a couple of actual museum-type things to look at but mostly just wall after wall of signs about values and racism and hate. Almost complete waste of time.

Beautiful little canyon, amazing colors astounding location and views. Would recommend walking to the furthest point on the trail where it loops back for best view. The canyon is much deeper there so you can see more beautiful rocks but also there is a lot less people that want to walk up that hill! Very busy parking lot so be prepared you may have to park down the road at the further lot. Its a very busy location due to its accessibility. If you have walking assistance devices, strollers or wheel chairs you can definitely explore a lot of the views with its paved pathway.

We take the drive up to Red Rock Canyon and it offers exquisite views featuring red and green bedrock, alpine vegetation, and protruding peaks. The red rock formations provide a stunning backdrop. It is a great scenic walk for hikers and for those who would like an adventure. With its excellent views of the Rocky Mountains, miles of hiking trails, Red Rocks Park is a big draw for those who love outdoor activities.

Was really really busy but to be expected on a weekend during the summer! Parking was a bit gnarly due to that but the attendants were really friendly, kind and patient. Bathrooms could really use a bit more attention (in comparison to other Provincial and National Parks) Great path up to Goat Lake. The regrowth is absolutely wonderful and lush. A must see if you're in Waterton!

A beautiful spot within Waterton Lakes National Park. The rocks are a beautiful red color and the water is crystal clear. There are paths that lead you through the mountains and there are also several waterfalls nearby. The paths range from a short walk to an intense hike so make sure to pay attention to the path markers.

The drive to get here was beautiful. Lots of parking and essential utilities. You can walk the paved path around the canyon, about 15 minutes. Hike down in the canyon along the stream. Then hike over to the falls, about 15 minutes from the lot. Got there about 9am and it was nice and quiet, but by 10:30 it was quite busy.

It was amazingly beautiful.. although it get crowded in summer month, if you want to take a good photos of the whole red rocks, should be there early summer before July/Aug which is the peak summer. Worth of the long driving hours..

Amazing Canyon with red rocks truly unique. There are long and short trails from the parking spot. Speaking of parking lots there are two upper is small and lower is big but a bit of walk so good luck finding one on upper lot on a busy day few washrooms. Views of mountain and canyon is just breath taking. I have reviewed other spots in Waterton like prince of whales hotel etc check out my reviews and list of to do things in Waterton Park. Single day or discovery pass required to enter also follow for more.

Great place to visit. Took about an hour to do the whole heritage site. Unique heritage site with tons of info on the buffalo jump. One of my favorite parts is the building itself. Built into the side of the cliff, it's architecturaly very fascinating. Great views from the cliff of the prairies and the Old Man River.

The World Heritage Site: Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump After a long week of work, we finally had the chance to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, just a 2-hour drive from Calgary. No booking required! Simply pay the entrance fee and enjoy the fascinating exhibits. It’s a place rich in history, offering insight into how Indigenous people survived and thrived in this cold and challenging environment. You’ll learn about traditional hunting methods, culture, and resilience. A must visit, especially for families with kids! It’s a meaningful way to teach children about the remarkable ways people adapted and lived in harmony with nature.

Woow. Magnificent place. I heard about it long time ago but had no chance to visit till last weekend and it was worth for such long drive. Knowing the history of the place and native culture goes back to 6000 years. Mind blowing for me. Also, layer by layer display of the soil which contains buffalo remains in last 6000 years, stunning. I have more respect to the native people than before after visiting and learning one of their sacred place.

🦬 Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump – A Powerful Connection to the Past—We’ve visited Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump a few times over the years, and each time it gets better. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable—they really bring the history to life. The site is well-maintained, and the washrooms were clean, which is always appreciated. This year, we noticed some new features added since our last visit, which made the experience feel fresh. They offer family packages and discounted rates for veterans and their families, which is a thoughtful touch. No need to book in advance—we walked in on a weekend and had no issues, even with tour buses coming through. 🐾 Heads-up for pet owners: Dogs aren’t allowed inside the interpretive centre, but there’s a shaded waiting area outside where you can sit with your pup. They even provide water bowls, which was a kind gesture. ✅ Tip: If you’re heading south from Pincher Creek or exploring the Waterton area, this is a must-stop. It’s not just a museum—it’s a place to reflect, learn, and connect with Indigenous history in a meaningful way.

Super friendly staff and a clean, well maintained building and trails. I did the trails to the kill site, and met a deer along the way. Educational tour. I had no idea the excavation of the site discovered the site had been used for about 6000-7000 years! Very cool.

This was an incredible experience. The indigenous people of this land had systems and processes in place for thousands of years that have been adapted and still used today. They were resourceful, environmentally aware, deeply spiritual and then white man came along. I was so moved by the story and impressed by the visitor centre and how they honoured the stories. Great building, great staff and well worth the visit.

This is a very informative historical site. The curators have done an excellent job. It is very well put together. After you check-in, You start the visit by taking elevator to the 7 floor, then go outside to the viewing point. You reenter the building and make your way down through the 6 floors of displays. Not a difficult walk. This is worth the visit. Spent maybe 1.5 hours here.

I was recommended to check out this museum on r/Alberta. Lots of paintings, pictures, and display cabinets to look at. Lots of personal testimonials from Bomber Command crews to read. Definitely worth checking out this place. The Lancaster is massive and you can tour the interior. They have a BF 109. A rare sight to see.

I've driven past this place for many years and never stopped to visit. I had a chance to visit here during the "Bikers and Bombers" event, and I'm so glad I did. What an amazing place with tons of history and artifacts. Very knowledgeable volunteers and staff made you feel very welcome.

Bomber Command Museum located in amazing little town of Nanton, Alberta. It is a must see! They restore and bring back to life many historic aircraft mainly from WWII. The star of the show is the Lancaster bomber where Carl likes to say “let’s convert some gasoline to noise” and fired up the four V12 Rolls Royce Merlin engines! Spectacular to see and hear! They are also working on rebuilding a Halifax bomber. While at the museum please take a moment to remember the brave men who fought for our freedom at the Memorial wall. Also, I’d like to thank Zarchary for showing me the restoration shop and the work that was being done. Admission is by donation and every dollar helps to keep the museum. So much important history!

Excellent if you love airplanes! Tour the inside of a Lancaster, sit in one of the snowbirds, maybe learn about the dambuster bombing runs. Got the opportunity to see the restoration hangar and meet some of the people working to restore the historical aircrafts.

Fun family outing celebrating 80 years of freedom. Thank you to the staff for a special day remembering those whom made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom…lest we forget! World class museum with very informative and helpful staff. Will be back soon with more visitors.

This was such an experience for us, though from the US, we enjoyed learning from another country’s perspective about military use and history of war. Muldoon (hopefully didn’t botched the name too bad) was knowledgeable and my son thoroughly enjoyed the conversations. Thank you so much❤️

My dad loves airplanes, so I brought him to this museum. When we saw the Avro Lancaster, he was amazed by how huge it is — truly impressive. There were also two replica planes with open cockpits you could check out. Overall, it was a great experience.

What a sweet surprise to come across the Bar U and learn so much about some true Alberta history. Ross and Shane were amazing tour guides that showed us around the whole ranch. Definitely a great day getaway!!

Absolutely loved this stop! The parks staff were excellent with our group. We had a combination walk about on our own and guided tour. The staff knew the history not only of the Bar U but also provided a cross section of history across the US and Canada for the time period and how it was all woven together with life today on the prarires. Extremely well preserved piece of our history. Definitely enjoyed the Cowboy coffee portion. Bravo to all. Thank you to Lisa J. for assisting in our visit!!

What a place! Something for everyone — history buffs, nature lovers, animal fans, horse fanatics. We spent twice as long there as we thought we would because we became fascinated by the stories told of the various owners and ranch hands, the life on site prior to it being a ranch and what life was like back in the pioneer days. Interesting history of the Percheron breeding program. We saw artifacts, experienced the life (lasso, riding wagon, sampling cowboy coffee (liked it!)) and peppering the knowledgeable staff with questions. Highly recommend. You ride the horse-drawn wagon down the hill. The ranch site is flat so easy walking.

This place was a joy to visit. Like stepping back in history. Most of the tour was self-directed, a few costumed interpreters peppered throughout. The buildings are well cared for and true to period. We had a terrific visit!! If you like history, go!!

A pretty cool place to visit. Went there this summer, nothing really special to see since it’s just a farm, horses etc. But our host was super sweet and explained everything to us. We got a chance to draw on wood which was interesting. I don’t know about the prices since I didn’t pay for those, but if it’s high, then I wouldn’t recommend. Overall - farm, with horses,pigs,chickens ect, they offfer a wagon ride, there are picnic tables, post cards, small building to go in ect…

Excellent place for a visit. Well maintained. Staff are very friendly and informative. We have lived in Calgary for 35 years and driven by many times but I urge all southern Albertans to pop by for a visit.

Stopped here on a Colette tour. The rancher's daughter told us about the ranching in the area, the importance of the buffalo herds to the health of the prairie, issues ranchers encountered keeping cattle alive and a stories of Charles M Russell, a famous painterof counboy life and experiences. We stayed at the visitor's center but she invited us back to spend time at the ranch over the knoll to learn more of ranch life. Wish we had the time.

The Okotoks Erratic, also known as the "Big Rock," is an incredible natural landmark and definitely worth a stop. It's amazing to see such a massive boulder in the middle of the prairie and learn about its glacial history. The site is open 24/7, so it's easy to visit anytime, and there's plenty of parking nearby. There are walking paths around the rock with informational signs that explain its geological and cultural significance. It's also a popular spot for photos, short hikes, and even just a peaceful break when driving through the area. There aren't many amenities on-site, so bring water and snacks if you plan to stay a while. Overall, it's a fascinating and unique stop for anyone interested in nature, geology, or Alberta history.

We went to the Buffalo Jump Head Smashed in the other day and were blessed to hear the Napi story about the rock from a Blackfoot guide. We came to the rock just to admire it and weren’t disappointed. Such a great piece of history and nature.

Beautiful to see and history behind it accessible to all. Very annoying to see lots of people climbing the barriers and climbing the rocks and disrespecting the land despite clear signage to not climb. Do not climb and do not leave a trace please do not litter. Beautiful landscapes, and great to see if you’re in Okotoks.

As the name suggests a big rock in the middle of the grassland. It was Intersting to read the information boards about about how the rock got here from Jasper. Good place just to relax and unwind. There are many parkings and a gravel road leading up to the rock. The only big negative was the state of the public toilet. It was gross and smelled badly. I am not sure if it is always like this.

Not bad if you are in the area or interested in geology. The whole area is quite scenic and rocks jutting out are definitely interesting.

Had an amazing time at the zoo! The staff were friendly and helpful, and we appreciated how clean and well-maintained everything was. There were also plenty of places to take a break, grab a snack, and just enjoy the surroundings. Washroom available in every area. The staff and volunteers are incredibly knowledgeable and always willing to answer questions or share insights about the animals. The exhibits are engaging and informative, making it a great experience for kids and adults alike. I would highly recommend for any age.

Great way to spend your day. Lots of parking fast lines, lots of animals. Most were pretty sleepy while we were there, except the wolves who were prancing around and coming right up to the glass. Tickets are cheaper if bought in advance. I took way too many photos and had a lovely day.

I love visiting the Zoo with my kids. We have coming for over 20 years now. I started coming when I moved to Calgary over twenty years ago. I have enjoyed seeing all the animals. 20 years ago I loved seeing the kangoos and the elephants. When they had bats I didn't like the bats but that is my own phobia of bats I had since I was a child. I remember seeing the sloth back then and one of favorite animals The Kolas. We love ❤️ seeing the Pink Flamingos 💗 and is one of the first ones we go see now. We love the pandas. My son loves the komodoo dragons they are his favorite. We love the Zoo Christmas Lights. We love seeing the red pandas and Tigers and the various animals and birds and the butterfly exhibits when we go visit the zoo. We always enjoy seeing the animals ❤️. In my son's words it's a really cool experience.

Honestly, the Calgary Zoo is way better than I remembered. The layout is really nice since it’s right on the river, but man, it is a lot of walking just like the Toronto zoo! so definitely wear your best/most comfortable running shoes! The penguin plunge is the winner for me seeing them swim that fast underwater is wild. Also my favorite animal lol. The lemur enclosure where you walk right in with them is super cool too. I’d the food it’s can get pretty pricey for basic burgers. But still delicious! If you wanna save a buck just pack a lunch and eat on a bench or find a nice shaded grass spot. If you go for ZooLights in the winter, dress warmer than you think you need to. It gets windy!

Amazing place for a family day out! We visited with kids and everyone had a great time. The grounds are very clean and well maintained, with lots of shade and beautifully designed animal enclosures. We were especially impressed by the penguins, tigers, and the dinosaur park — so realistic! My little one loved the kids’ zoo where you can feed the goats. Staff were friendly, and the café had a nice variety of food. A perfect spot to spend the whole day with family. We’ll definitely be back!

The Zoo is always a great place to visit. However it is a seasonal place, even though they are open year round. We saw lots of animals, but Prehistoric Park was closed along with every food vendor and refreshment stand except for Kitamba Cafe which is an indoor restaurant. I understand this, but my suggestion would be to maybe open certain areas up, weather permitting, so that on the nicer days people still have an opportunity to experience as much as possible. Other than that, it was a great time.

Lots of construction throughout areas of the park. The only food location opened was by the gift shop, when exiting the zoo; every other food location was closed. Tickets should be discounted during this time. Parking was easy. Staff working in the gift shop were exceptionally friendly.

A fun, festive, and educational experience for everyone. The Park has an assortment of activities, rides, food, civic museums, and heritage architecture emphasizing the cultural significance of early Prairie settlement/life. It's like taking a step back in time, and it's worth every dollar. 11/10 do recommend.

Heritage Park in Calgary is a fantastic destination for a family outing. The park stands out for its welcoming policy on food and drinks, allowing visitors to bring their own and enjoy a picnic-like atmosphere—a rare perk that saves a lot on expenses compared to other parks where you can easily spend over $100 just on meals. Though tickets are on the pricier side at $36 for adults and $26 for kids, the experience is worth every penny. The park is meticulously managed, from parking to rides and everything in between. It’s incredibly clean, with free water fountains and spotless washrooms, ensuring a comfortable visit. Highly recommended for a day of fun and relaxation!

Really enjoyed coming here. It's like Disneyland, but better, because you can actually learn something about actual frontier life and how Alberta came about as opposed to some fantasized version of how things were. Plus, the Vaudevillian performances were really entertaining. There was something that happened, I don't want to go into the details, but I want to take a chance to thank the staff for handling the incident professionally and being very kind to me and my party.

An absolutely wonderful place! The ticket price is well worth it, as it covers more than just a visit to a village—it's an immersive experience. During your visit, you'll watch over five short theater performances, each lasting at least 30 minutes, depicting the rich history of the area. The actors and actresses are incredibly talented, making the stories come to life. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and felt that one day isn't enough to fully appreciate everything this place has to offer. The staff members are all kind and helpful, providing excellent explanations about the site, especially the lady in the mine. You can begin your journey from the parking lot by taking a charming streetcar ride.Unfortunately, the gift shops didn’t have any magnets from this village, which was a bit disappointing.

This is such a wonderful place to visit. Everyone here always makes sure that you are having a good time. Everyone is in costume and stays true to the character they are portraying. There is a steam engine train you can ride as well at the steam ship that goes out along the reservoir. There are tractor rides and horse-drawn wagon rides, all of which are free with admission. There are midway rides for people of all ages. The general store and ice cream shop sell delicious treats, and the bakery is always making fresh baked items for sale. Every exhibit is authentic and has a plaque to describe its original location. There is so much to do that you can easily spend a full day here and not see everything there is to see.

I really enjoyed this place. Wow! If you have children, they will enjoy it as well. I recommend going on the steam locomotive at Shepard Station or riding the S.S. Moyie first (in the same area) then do the other after. After experiencing these attractions, wander the property. Cool off with a local brew at the Wainwright Hotel & Bar Room.

Truly amazing experience! All employees were very friendly and welcoming. So much things to do and have fun. We were visiting Calgary for the first time and Heritage Park was the best part of the trip. My son had a blast riding a real steam train. All the family had great time.

It could have been just the time of your but it was really difficult to get to this event. Many of the streets were closed. We could not get an Uber anywhere. Could not get taxis. The facility itself was decent inside with a good selection of food. The seeding in the stands a bit tight in places didn't appear. It was built with adults with semi-limited ability to get in and out of the area.

It is truly the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth. The rides, animals, free swag, sponsored activities, free pancake breakfasts, spirit of the west, cowboy theming, spirit of community, games, and fun new foods are just so exciting and satisfying. The only drawback is that the price for food and drinks has skyrocketed out of control that it drains your wallet dry and takes away from the experience. They need a food price cap and a $2.00, $5.00, $10.00 and $15.00 menu offering or something as the prices for food appear unreasonably high. Other than that, you gotta try the dill pickle pizza as it’s fantastic! The poutine and fish and chips are good too!

Stampede is awesome! Coming for 2 years now and loving it. Such amazing human energy, concerts, and multitude of things to do. Cows, tanks, food, drinks, music, cowboy hats, gotta love it.

The main advice for everyone coming next year: make sure to grab an event map at the entrance. There are many free activities besides the Rodeo, but you won’t find them easily if you don’t know where and when they take place. The Stampede is always crowded, but it’s not only about the Rodeo and food.

Went to the Flames vs Jets hockey game on Saturday November 15 2025 at the Saddledome. Good seats, decent burger and beer special at low pre-game price if get there about an hour before the game starts. Security screening at entry much less intrusive than past years. Staff smile way more. Place very clean. Newer sound system better, but cranked too loud which may be on purpose. Saw little kids with hearing protection head sets on. New center ice screens way better. Good contests anc candid shots of spectators on screens engaged the crowd. Bonus was the Flames win in exciting OT shootout!

If you haven't been to the Calgary Stampede, you need to go, at least once. Billed as The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth you'll want to take in the music (Country of course), food, drinks, rodeo, midway rides, and don't miss the Grandstand Show. No expense spared for the best fireworks display I've seen to end the show. Food wagon options include what you may expect at a fair. Some creative combo's along with the expected, such as a smoked Turkey Leg. (a bit pricey at 33.00). Be prepared for line ups and crowds. Advance purchase of admission tickets eliminates at least 1 line. You'll have a great time if you take in some of this 10 day event, and don't forget your Cowboy hat!

Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth..actually. The rides were so much fun and the showcases in the BMO Centre were awesome. The food stands around the Stampede were amazing but were highly expensive. Getting here was so bad via CTrain, it is so crowded that they couldn’t let people in because it was packed. It was also crowded in Stampede Park of course due to the tourist influx and because it was first day. It was so much fun exploring every inch of the park, one must go to the stampede at least once every time. Would I go back? Definitely. 8/10.

The Calgary Tower is a great way to get a full view of the city. The observation deck gives you a 360° look at Calgary and the Rocky Mountains on a clear day. The glass floor is a fun experience and makes for some great photos. The staff are friendly, and the elevator ride to the top is smooth and quick. The visit itself doesn’t take too long unless you plan to eat at the restaurant, but it’s still worth it for the views and the unique perspective of the city. Tickets are a little expensive for the short time you spend there, but it’s one of Calgary’s most iconic landmarks and a nice stop if you’re exploring downtown.

Wow stunning views. And going at sunset is highly recommended! The mountains are a perfect with the sun setting behind them! Food was fantastic! It's so beautiful to see the lights of the city light up below! We went after a long day of travelling and sightseeing so we were casually dressed, but you can dress up super fancy too! It was great!

The viewing deck offers a decent panorama, but the surrounding skyline is less striking than expected. Overall, the Calgary Tower is well worth a visit for its unparalleled views and historical significance, particularly for first-time visitors to Calgary. Its combination of scenic beauty, informative displays, and cozy ambiance makes it a rewarding stop, best enjoyed on a clear day.

Visiting Calgary Tower is a must for anyone coming to Calgary! The ride to the top is an amazing experience — the panoramic view of the city and the mountains on the horizon is truly breathtaking. Standing on the glass floor is especially thrilling — it takes your breath away, but it’s absolutely worth it! The staff are friendly and welcoming, and everything is well organized and efficient. The restaurant at the top has a great atmosphere and a view you just can’t look away from. A fantastic place to feel the scale of Calgary and take stunning photos. Highly recommended!

The Calgary Tower turned out to be an excellent stop on our trip. Admission is roughly half the price of Toronto’s CN Tower, and since the Calgary Tower is about half the height, it feels like a perfect trade-off—great value without compromising the experience. We timed our visit for around sunset and it couldn’t have been better. The views of downtown Calgary, the Bow River, and the Rockies glowing in the evening light were absolutely stunning. From the glass floor to the 360-degree panorama, every angle offered something memorable. Overall, the Calgary Tower provides amazing scenery and a fair price point that makes it easy to recommend. If you can, plan your visit for sunset—you’ll catch the city at its most beautiful.

It was definitely worth going once! You get to see the city from a view point that’s quite amazing. However it is super important to figure out what time you should go there. I wouldn’t go again though because I do not think the ticket prices are worth multiple visits.

We didn't buy the ticket to the top but we had a dinner in 360 sky restaurant at the top of the tower. The foods were out of the world and the price was right for a sky tower restaurant. We spent $200 incl tips there, while we spent $500 in Look up tower restaurant in Vancouver, ever the foods here much better than Vancouver. We don't have to wear fancy dress here, casual is okay.

Great amusement park for kids and parents/families, and lots of stuff for teens too. So many rides toddlers can go on if they are tall enough. Even when the parking is packed it is not too big of a wait for a lot of the smaller rides. The water rides are a long wait and close an hour before closing time. Lots of bathrooms around. Lots of food options. Shaved ice and pineapple dole whip is vegan. Cool Halloween vibes when summer season is over. Decorated all throughout the park.

Coming into the parking lot, everyone was parking to the left as it looks like they are building something on the right. They have lots of people waving you in telling you where to park. They have many booths to pay for your tickets as you go in. I do recommend buying your ticket online before going in. When you went to the park you can go to the left or to the right. I recommend going to the roller coaster first. The lineups can get quite long. The roller coaster and the log ride usually get the longest lines. The staff is very friendly and the park is very clean. I do find the water is expensive there so bring your own water to drink. They do have an area with lots of picnic tables for you to have a lunch. I have a 2 year old and he could go on about nine rides. When my daughter was 9 she could go on every single ride. Overall I do like this park. I do believe it is time to add some new rides. We went September 14th and they had Halloween days starting. They had parades and they had people dressed up everywhere.

The park is great, especially for kids and probably some teenagers up to around 14 years old. There are lots of fun rides for children, bright swings, and a Parade of Fairy-Tale Characters (they were handing out delicious candies). We also bought some food — the fries were very tasty. There are small lines for the restrooms. We’ll definitely visit this place again!

I visited Calaway Park and had a fantastic time! The park was spotless, the staff were super friendly, and the atmosphere was full of energy. It’s clearly a perfect spot for families—so many smiling kids and parents enjoying the day. Whether you’re with a group or on your own, it’s a fun, well-run park that’s worth the visit!

IF YOU WANT A GREAT PLACE TO TAKE THE WHOLE FAMILY, THIS IS IT! Amazing experience! They have rides for kids rides for adults, add rides for really small kids as well! There are lineups and that long. The most We ever waited was about half an hour. It is $52 to get in the dollars to get in the door if you are 13 to 65 years of age.

Great value. Lots of rides and activities for my 5 and 7 year old kids. Did not have to wait more than 5-10 minutes for the rides. We would come back for sure. We liked the magic show.

Fun lil park. Definitely for kids - we had fun for maybe 2 hours and that’s all there is to do as an adult. It’s closer to Calgary - the only perk. There were some rides that charge you additional $2-$5 on top of the entry ticket. Haunted house was a joke. Extremely long queues. Overpriced snacks and drinks. Meh! If you want to visit on a weekend, plan ahead cos parking is going to take you a long time.

Great picnic spot. Day use only. Each site has a fire pit with a grill and a picnic table and the sites are large enough to accommodate big family gatherings. The site are very close to the river, some of them right alongside it. There is not a lot of space between sites but they are decently private and the rushing river blocks the sound. Some sites are a bit farther from the rest. This is along the elbow river trail so you can make a nice day of exploring the trails

This was a great area to stop for a BBQ lunch!!! There is a few picnic tables,they were all taken, and very close together.. . We enjoyed our lunch on the rocks !!! River runs through this area !

Beautiful location along the Elbow. Lots of picnic sites and all have fire pits. Not as crowded as Bragg Creek Provincial Park or the main campgrounds. A nice hideaway.

Boat launch with small picnic areas accessible via rocky pathways. Not wheelchair recommended. Garbage can and bathroom in parking lot only. Kananaskis park pass required.

I've been going to this place for years. The flood of 2013 has changed the landscape, however, I still love it there. There are picnic tables available, so pack a snack and spend the day out in nature. Lots of parking available.

This is a great picnic spot. Children can safely play in the water.

It's a beautiful spot. You can picnic frome here, hike, or start a canoe trip down the Elbow river.

Soo glad I finally made it to Upper Kananaskis Lake! This place is honestly a hidden gem. The whole lake is surrounded by mountains and pine trees—just pure, peaceful nature everywhere you look. I found my perfect little spot by the water to just sit, breathe, and completely unwind. The air feels so fresh, you can hear the soft sound of the waves, and the views are unreal. Spent hours just exploring the trail, taking photos, and honestly just having fun. It’s one of those spots where you instantly feel calm and happy. Already planning my next visit! If you’re craving a peaceful outdoor escape, Upper Kananaskis Lake is totally the place to be.

Sunday October 26, 2025, I drive my old friends wth my wife and the view was stunning with the mountain backdrop. Definitely recommend for any age groups.

It was snowy and foggy when we arrived here but the view is still stunning and breathtaking. The snow peak was hidden and veiled by fog and clouds, like everything slows down. Kids were having fun by the lake and I gained the inner peace here. Totally worth to detour and hang out. We would like to check out next time in summer.

The tour was more intense than I expected and I loved it! I've done a cave tour in New Zealand and it was nice, but mostly walking. We did the Adventure tour which had some polished climbing sections , a rappel, and some optional very tight squeezes (The second photo is in the optional Laundry Chute, which was tight but super fun!). This tour was definitely worth the cost and I totally recommend it for someone with at least moderate fitness

Canmore Cave Tours is SO much fun! I brought a group of 7 to do the Adventure Tour. Our guide Annie was so knowledgeable and kept us calm and safe while exploring the caves. I highly recommended doing a tour with them, I gained so much confidence in myself and it was such a good way to bond with my friends (who are all different body shapes & sizes). When we left the cave, my friends and I all said we want to go AGAIN or maybe even take a caving course with them!! Additionally, if you have any hesitations or questions, their admin was super helpful and informative.

Amaaazing adventure 🫶! Loved it! I took the Adventurous Tour — we started around 10:15 am and finished about 4 pm. We met at the office, tried on our overalls and gloves, grabbed our gear, drove a short distance, and then hiked about 30–40 minutes up Grotto Mountain. At the shelter, we had some snacks, got fully geared up, and headed off to the caves. We spent about 3.5 to 4 hours inside, and it’s definitely not for the faint-hearted! We rappelled about 20 meters into the dark, squeezed through the “Laundry Chute,” and explored so many cool spots. It was so peaceful and full of great memories. Since it was shoulder season, there were only five of us — we had the whole cave to ourselves! Our guide, John, was patient and full of amazing stories about wildlife and geology. Wouldn’t change a thing. Highly recommend — thank you!🫶🫶🫶

What an incredible experience this adventure with Canmore cave tours was. My sister, my son and I went on an epic cave tour of the rats nest cave by Canmore. Holy moly!! I can’t say enough good words! Our cave guide Annie was super amazing!! She was very friendly, knowledgeable, and very encouraging! She definitely helped us push our limits today. It was just an all around super day!! Thanks so much!! 20/10 experience. 10 stars, five isn’t enough!!!!

We did the adventure tour with Brent. It was our first time in a cave, and it was the best outdoor (indoor?) experience of my life. Brent was an amazing, highly knowledgeable, and friendly guide. He was attentive to everyone’s safety without ever being overbearing. He motivated us to push our limits and offered encouragement when needed. The cave itself was stunning, and I only wish we could have stayed longer and explored more. I’m deeply grateful for the experience and can’t wait to one day be back in a cave!

Took my 3 boys today. Very fun experience. Our guide John was friendly and knowledgeable. Fairly challenging scrambling at times, with some sections requiring safety rope.

Amazing, awesome, and incredible!! Our group was amazing and our guide Annie was amazing and so friendly! Even when someone in our group dislocated her shoulder (not at all anyone's fault, it's an old injury), Annie was very calm and reassuring and she and John helped her slowly back up and got her out! Anyways very good very fun, we all had an amazing experience!! 10000/10 stars, would do again!!

Beautiful lake with amazing colorful mountains surrounding the lake. Wildlife are often seen near or around the lake. This is a huge tourist attraction as there is a boat launch where you can take boat rides around the lake. The drive up to Lake Minnewanka is stunning in the fall when all the leaves are in full color. There are trails for walking, rocks for sitting and soaking in the beauty. One of the must visits when in the Banff area.

Spending a day at the lake was a refreshing escape from the rush of daily life. The calm water mirrored the blue sky like glass, creating a picture so serene it almost didn’t feel real. Gentle waves lapped against the wooden dock, and every sound — from birds calling across the water to the rustling trees — blended into a natural symphony that melted away stress. What stood out most was the feeling of balance: moments of silence followed by laughter as families paddled by in canoes or kids skipped stones near the shore. The air felt cleaner, cooler, and full of life. Sitting close to the edge, I could see tiny fish darting through the shallows, while sunlight flickered on the surface like silver sparks. Whether walking along the path, taking photos of the sunset, or simply sitting still, the lake offered something rare — genuine stillness. As the evening came, golden light touched the treetops and the reflection deepened into shades of amber and blue. It was the kind of view that made you pause and breathe differently, aware of how healing simple beauty can be. Overall, my visit to the lake felt like a quiet reset button for the mind and soul. It reminded me that peace doesn’t always require distance — sometimes it’s waiting beside the water, asking only that you stop long enough to notice.

Wow!! Boat ride worth the travel and price! We were there the last weekend (11-13 oct 25) the boat was not pack like summer, it snowed the day before so was a little chilly but fine. Poor girls ( captain and guide) they told us that on the last day, they have to jump in the lake, its a tradition !! We also did one of the trail, amazing view, please bring bear spray and have at least a group of 4 for some trail.. we did not encounter any but with the snow the urgency of finding food become an obsession.. be aware

Lake Minnewanka in Banff National Park is a beautiful getaway that’s surprisingly welcoming for dogs — as long as you follow the rules. The trail and day-use areas offer stunning views of the glacial lake framed by rugged mountain ridges, making it a scenic and peaceful experience for both you and your furry friend. One of the best things about visiting with a dog is simply walking along the lakeshore: there are quiet spots to stop, take photos, or enjoy a picnic. The clean, well-maintained trail makes it accessible for a relaxing stroll without feeling too wild. But be careful — during the summer (from July 10 to September 15), dogs are not allowed beyond Stewart Canyon on the Lake Minnewanka Trail.  When your dog is permitted, they must be kept on a leash and under physical control at all times.  This rule protects wildlife like bears and elk — and it’s enforced by Parks Canada.  Also, make sure to pick up and properly dispose of their waste.  Be aware that there is a real wildlife risk: bears have been spotted along the trail, and advisories recommend keeping pets close and carrying bear spray if you’re exploring.  Overall, Lake Minnewanka is a fantastic spot to bring your dog — provided you stay on leash, respect seasonal trail restrictions, and treat the area responsibly.

Very picturesque, laid back and peaceful. The boat ride was well worth going on. The lake looks beautiful, we were so lucky to have had the weather on our side.

I went on a stargazing tour and visited this lake, and it was absolutely stunning at night! You could see so many stars! It was one of those once in a lifetime opportunities for me, and I was greatful to be able to grab a few beautiful pictures of the night sky! I also went on a boat tour, and was able to capture the beauty of the lake as well!

One of my absolute favourite spots in Banff!! The views are unreal and there’s so much to do around the lake!! Probably my favourite spot to go swimming as well…if you can brave the cold!

Really great views and really great food if you eat in the Sky Restaurant Buffet. Food was really good as long as you get the food that looks fresh. Gondola ride was super short, only about 8 minutes so I think the price was high. Once at the top though there’s lots to do like shop and read more about the area. On the roof/sky deck there’s also little fire pits and an igloo that’s heated that you go in and warm up. I really loved it here and definitely worth seeing it once.

This is one thing you should definitely experience if you're in Banff. The ride itself is bloody amazing. We were four folks. On a busy day, the queue for the ticket can be long but they have many counters so it moves quickly as well. We hardly had to spend more than 10-15 minutes to get our turn. The gondola is quite expensive but the experience is worth the price. They give you a time slot for the onwards as well as the return journey in Gondola. We had two hours available at the top which is slightly less than required but you still can manage to do a lot upon the top. However, it's also tricky if you want to come down early. That can only happen if there is no queue on the top - otherwise, you wait for your time slot to come back down. On a busy day, that might almost be impossible. The staff was great - very friendly. The guy at the ticket counter was from Ireland and had come here for summer, which is incredible. There's a cafeteria right next to the ticket counter with Starbucks and a few other shops.

We visited in July 2020 and had the most fantastic experience. The beauty and the hospitality were top-notch. I'm luxury hotel trained in customer service, and the crew at this tourist attraction were some of the most kind and hospitable people I've ever met! They really did care about those they interacted with. It was outstanding the experience. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Banff! Highly recommended when in the area!

What an incredible experience!! If your around here, you MUST do this! Even if it's once in a lifetime, it'll be so worth it! Come in the winter months as it's not busy at all, and the cold dry crisp air is super refreshing! There's fire pits to warm up in top of the roof. And the outpost at the end of the trail offers the most amazing view of the Rocky mountains! Complimentary tea/hot chocolate. Stay till its dark and view the stars on a clear night. The gondola ride up is quite fun itself. Coming down at night with the view of Banff is super cool too.

My husband and I got the package with the dinner. It was our favorite experience in Banff. The views are amazing, impressive and beautiful, they gave us a blanket as it was extraordinary cold that night. Once on top, we got out to the deck to enjoy the views, it was too cold to stay out. Dinner was perfect and food amazing, we sat by the window, the view of the Rockies was just enjoyable and impressive. Service was friendly, professional and after dinner, we went to the deck to get s'mores made in the fire pits installed on the deck. There was also live music and telescopes to look at the stars. We took the last gondola, and one more time going down was a great experience, as the views of the city and mountains were amazing. We absolutely recommend this activity!

A MUST SEE!! fantastic view from the top. Take a full day to enjoy this place, have lunch at the restaurant on the mountain top. Just a gorgeous nature God created. Canada is so blessed to have this. The ride up is approximately 10 minutes, sit on the left side facing down the village as you climb. Lovely view. Great facility. Highly recommended!

You can not miss this tour! Wonderful place and very easy to get to ... Take the municipal bus on Caribou Street, and in a short time you arrive at the station. The ticket to the gondola is not expensive, the wonderful view of the mountains pays off. The place is very well kept and clean. Great restaurant. And the staff is very kind.

Beautiful, cascading falls close to the Banff Springs Hotel. Easy walk from anywhere in town along the Bow River Trail. I highly recommend walking the entire Bow River Trail when you go. It has spectacular scenery of all the surrounding mountains with well done art walk along the way.

It's nice and neat to see the rock under the water and hotel. You can get good photos from either side of the falls. There are better falls though but good to see if your in Banff for the day.

So cool to walk along the art walk on our way to the falls! There were tons of people around but nothing ever felt crowded because there’s so much space. A beautiful place you gotta see!

Great parking space. It got chilly and windy but the falls was so far the widest though shortest I’ve seen. The sound of the falls just couldn’t be beat regardless! Great stop!

Visit : July 1, 2025 Amazing wooden trail that leads to lower and upper falls. Total distance may be 2.5-3 hours. Lower falls are amazing with breathtaking views. Small cave at the end with excellent positions for excellent photos. If you don’t want more hike up and down then at least you reach the lower falls. Good parking area but if you’re there after 4 PM then for sure you will find a spot in parking lot A or B.

Tucked away in a serene canyon, this trail is a gem for anyone craving a few hours of nature’s embrace. Two stunning waterfalls punctuate the journey—one lower, one upper—each a breathtaking reward. The full 5.5 - 6 km loop through the canyon is a delight, though a shorter 2–5 km trek to the lower falls is perfect for a lighter outing. For those willing to push a bit further, the upper falls are an absolute must-see, capping off a scenic and soul-rejuvenating adventure. Highly recommend!

Love this stop from our two day tour bus! We only had time for the lower falls hike but it was so worth it! Well paved, well fenced way to either lower or higher falls. Just the combination of mountains and the water is magical. The cool weather made it easier. It rained and snowed on our second day of the tour but nothing dampened the days as a matter of fact, the weather just gave it a different perspective of beauty!

It is cool to be on the hike and lower falls is the first one you would see a queue (that was the long weekend and some people skipped the line and ran all the way when people were waiting for their turn…) It is rather quite an easy hike and it is worth to going in and see However, our experience is don’t stop your hike just at lower falls! Because you shall go further up to the upper falls (no queue) and ink pots (magical and funny cold springs)

We had a wonderful family hike at Johnston Canyon to the Lower Falls! The trail was easy, well-paved, and perfect for kids, which made it stress-free and enjoyable for everyone. The walk along the canyon is beautiful, and the Lower Falls are absolutely worth the short hike. It’s a great family-friendly adventure that I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting Banff!

A good hike especially if weather is cool. Takes about 1-2 hours return. Slight elevation. There’s a little cave where you can go in to see the lower falls up closed! There’s a queue on the bridge to get into the cave. Good negative ion with the water fall and river flowing through. (See google map for more info on Johnston Canyon and upper falls)

Johnston Canyon's Lower Falls is a breathtaking stop, just a 40-50 minute moderate hike from the trailhead. The scenic path winds through a lush forest alongside a rushing creek, culminating in an up-close view of the stunning falls. You can even walk through a small tunnel for a closer look, though be prepared for crowds. The sound and power of the water are mesmerizing. A must-visit for nature lovers, but be aware that it's popular and you might have to wait for photos. Kids loved it.

Just a beautiful experience. This is a place that people can tell you about, like I am, but you will not appreciate the true beauty and vastness of this park until you visit for yourself. Everywhere you look the sights are breathtaking. At times I found myself just staring taking in the view being lost in nature.

The most beautiful place myself and family have been. Truly wonderful, peaceful, and a majestic testimony to God the creator. Canadian Rockies are so vast! Amazing colors to glacier-fed rivers and lakes. See actual glaciers as they descend from waterfalls to streams to lakes and to rivers.

Visiting Banff National Park is one of the most unforgettable trips that you will ever experience. To start, the 4 hour drive from Calgary will provide you with a road trip and scenery that is jaw-dropping, and that's just the "tip of iceberg" of what you will see once you arrive at the park. I HIGHLY recommend that you do not stay for less than a week because there is SO much to see, visit, walk, canoe, cable car, and drive that you will do yourself a disservice. The countless trails to hike, lakes to visits, animals to see (including grizzly bears), and mountain tops to climb will leave you stunned. The clear forest air, sounds of wildlife, rushing rivers, and waterfalls are things you will not forget. A rental car is an absolute must, with plenty of accommodations to be had, depending on where you want to visit and how much you want to drive. And drive you will do in order to get the full experience. The topography is unlike anything you have seen, as you drive through closed canopy forests, open fields, amazing canyons, and even glaciers. You will see wildflowers of so many varieties and colors that your eyes will dance with excitement. You will wish you had a hammock to tie between trees or a comfortable blanket to lay in the massive fields of tall grass to enjoy a nap that you've probably never experienced or will. Go and do your heart, mind, and soul some good. Please respect the untouched beauty and throw your trash away in designated places.

An absolutely breathtaking park. This whole area of Canada has some of the most stunning landscapes I have ever seen. Getting around is easy, all highways lead to Banff. Make sure you buy a park pass ahead of time. I spent 7 days here and it wasn't enough to experience everything Banff has to offer. There are so many lounges and hotels to stay in, book way in advance since they fill up quickly.

Stunning landscapes with so much natural beauty. A photographer's dream. One of the most gorgeous places on earth we have visited. The turquoise color of water is unbelievable. Great infrastructure, well maintained highways. Have visited both in Summer and Winter.

My husband and I went to Banff with our toddler 9/18-25/24. It was chilly, and in the mornings, it sometimes got to below freezing. I wore leggings, a t-shirt, and a heavy fleece jacket with a beanie and it was enough to keep me warm! Wear layers so you can peel off as you hike. We wore trail runners and those were adequate for hiking. We stayed in Canmore and drove into Banff, which really wasn’t too far. *NOTE: Get a bus pass to Moraine Lake and Lake Louise. We weren’t able to get the Parks Canada shuttle, so we went with a private company, Fairview Limousine Shuttle. It was CA$25 for Lake Louise and CA$35 for Moraine Lake per person, but if you wanted to do sunrise, it was like 3x the price. We did the shuttle to Moraine Lake at 7:15 am, so we got there just after sunrise, at 7:45. It was so cloudy that day that being there for sunrise wouldn’t have been worth it anyway. Thursday, 9/19 - Peyto Lake (.8 miles total) - Got there at 1:30 pm, there were enough parking spots. Took less than 30 minutes total, including stopping for pics. Stay on the trail! The trees are incredible and smell amazing!! Absolutely stunning views. They have toilets with no running water in the parking lot. - Bow Lake - Walked around a bit, didn’t really hike. We heard there’s a nice hike, which we would’ve done if we hadn’t started so late in the day! - Mistaya Canyon (.7 miles total) - Took 20 minutes, pretty!! Friday, 9/20 - Johnston Canyon to Upper Falls (3.4 miles total) - Got there at 8 am on a rainy and cold day, so there was plenty of parking. By the time we got down at 10:40, parking lot was full. Bathrooms with running water at the start. Because it was rainy and cold, the trail was almost empty. Very pretty! Took us a little over 2 hours, including stopping for lunch. We would’ve loved to do Ink Pots, but the toddler was cranky. - Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park - Got there at noon and it was packed, had to park far away. Stroller-friendly boardwalk. Amazing views. Little cafe and bathrooms without running water. We were there for about 30 minutes, but there are plenty of trails if you choose to hike! - Natural Bridge - Got there at 1 pm, found a parking spot. Bathrooms without running water. Quick stop, very cool. Saturday, 9/21 - Tunnel Mountain Summit from Upper Parking Lot (2.6 miles total) - At 8:45 am, plenty of parking. Very cold—below freezing. Took us 50 minutes to get up with stops and pictures, spent 30 minutes at the top but it was just so cold. Took us less than 30 min to get down. The elevation gain was challenging. - Two Jack Lake - Very pretty viewpoint! Go down the gravel path and look on either side for lovely views. - Lake Minnewanka - Eh, skip it. - Johnson Lake - Plenty of parking at 12:45 pm. Easy hike around the lake. Not worth it. Sunday, 9/22 - Took Fairview Limousine Shuttle to Moraine Lake. - Moraine Lake: Rockpile Trail (.8 km loop): Got to the lake at 7:45 and the shuttle left at 9 which was more than enough time. Quick walk up to take pics, hung out up there to pass the time until the bus came back. - Lake Louise: Lake Agnes Tea House Trail (3.4 km one way): Lake Louise was STUNNING. Completely uphill hike to tea house with stairs at the end. We stopped a lot of times and drank a lot of water. Took 1:15 on the way up. Lake Agnes was fine, but nothing compared to Lake Louise. Spent about an hour at the tea house, the wait really wasn’t that long. Got tea, vegetable soup, biscuits, a cookie bar. Took an hour to get down. Much easier going down, but hard on the knees. Monday, 9/23 - Hoodoos - Fine, pretty short. We followed the sign someone had written on and didn’t go past where the trail ended because there were. no views past it. If you don’t have time, this is fine to skip. - Bow River - We stopped at the Bow Falls Viewpoint for a picnic lunch. It was so peaceful. We didn’t do the trails, but I’m sure it would’ve been lovely. Even just stopping there for lunch was so nice. Highly recommend! Banff was incredible. Don’t pass it up!

Absolutely magical. I was able to spend 4 days here: 1 day visiting the touristy lakes, 2 days hiking, and 1 day cycling. The down sides are the overwhelming number of people that are here and the speed at which people drive on the main road, which I noticed everywhere in Alberta. Neither are the fault of the park so no reason to lower the rating, but it does mean this was probably the only time I’ll visit. I highly recommend Sunshine Meadows for a fantastic hike with less people!

My favourite lake in all of Canada, nothing compares to this incredible shade of blue! It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. This place feels truly special and simply being there is a beautiful reminder of how amazing it is to be alive.

⭐ Spectacular! Moraine lake and the ten peaks. So beautiful it is a MUST visit. No regrets! Some said the view on the morning is stunning with the sun shining on the peaks. Am happy to be there in the late afternoon as it is less crowded. Can walk on the beach but lots of pebbles and stones. Will need to book and take a shuttle to Moraine Lake as it is off limits to vehicles unless staying in the lodge.

Decided to walk along the road of Morraine Lake today , weather is sunny and not too cold .The view is stunning ,has flowing river and small water fall ,12 KM walk ,it took us 3 hours to the lake and 4 hours back due to issue related to hiking shoes.

Amazing lake. No parking lot on the area. You should take the shuttle from the Louise Lake or the sky resort. Purchase shuttle tickets in advance.

Absolutely stunning lake with crystal clear blue waters. Arriving early is going to give you the best views and allow you to enjoy the scenery without the crowds. Can be a little difficult to figure out the Park Canada Shuttle but recommend Moraine Lake first in the morning. The 2 day advance shuttle tickets are a great way for late planners to join the fun.

Beautiful and magical place! You can enjoy a peaceful ambient with fresh air. Unfortunately the kayaking company there charges you a fortune ($160 USD).

You need to book transportation here in advance. I recommend booking through a third party as tickets with park Canada goes really fast. Despite it being extremely busy it is worth the visit. It’s so beautiful it’s a must stop for sure.

Its a beautiful place for sure but very busy and outrageously expensive. There were so many people that it was hard to get a picture without strangers in it.lol But the staff members in the hotel and coffee shop were wonderful. They truly cater to people with class and kindness. Adding 2 stars to my review.

I liked the view when I went to the top but to be honest, this whole gondola thing was very normal. View was great but could be a possibility that I went in July and it looks better when snow is around. There is a photo booth where you can take a picture.

My notes here are strictly for the gondola experience. Winter time. Not the best gondola experience but it was recommended after the Banff gondola, which was closed for maintenance during the time we went. It literally is just a ski lift up and then back down... there is no hiking or real views of anything other than what you would normally on any ski mountain. The folks here are very nice and told me they have been working on a lodge project for YEARS so that people like me don't come up expecting exactly that, and they gave us free vouchers for a hot drink to enjoy on our way out. For the price of "sightseeing" gondola tickets, I would skip this... but I'm sure this is a great place for winter sports.

We take the gondola and lunch bundles ride . On both ways ( up and down ) we seen two deer under our gondola ride . The views from the top are amazing . The mountains and all those glaciers are stunning ! The burgers combo we have ordered are delicious too.

Lake Louise is an absolutely stunning location! My wife and I stayed several days as part of a larger group event. The staff is kind, welcoming, and hospitable. Big thank you to the hotel team. Personal shout out to Mark at concierge! After a conversation regarding hotel activities, unfortunately, the activity we wanted to participate in was full. When we had returned to our room there was a personalized note and some vouchers from Mark. This is one of many examples of kindness. We really appreciated how the staff went over and above, exceeding expectations each day! Can’t wait to visit again.

Best hotel I've stayed at. Was fortunate enough to be able to spend 2 nights here in August of last year and had a lot of fun. Ended up going canoeing twice, once during the day and once at sunset. Hotel is close to so many great hiking trails, both walking distance or short drive from trailhead. The backcountry blonde ale which is only sold here is a great beer, would definitely recommend it.

My husband and I booked a couple of nights at this beautiful Chateau to enjoy my birthday celebration. I have never felt so spoiled and cared for. From the first interaction until the final check out, each and every team member went above and beyond to make our stay magical and more than we could have ever expected. Lake Louise is extraordinary, the Chateau is breathtaking and the wonderful team of employees are unmatched. I cannot recommend this Chateau enough.

Bucket List: Visit Lake Louise✔️ Stay at a Fairmont Hotel✔️ It was our 29th Anniversary & we spent 5 nights at the fabulous Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise! We had the most memorable time here. We stayed in room 711 on the Gold Floor (….we went all out!) Highly recommend this room, the view from the window amazing, has a tub & a shower, a small sofa, tables w/ 2 chairs & the bed and pillows 😴 Best sleep !!! The Gold Floor , they say, is a hotel within a hotel. comes with its own concierge , small lounge with games and breakfast area (amazing) that turns into a canopy/ appetizers in the evening… it also has (all the time) sodas, a machine that makes the best hot chocolate & coffees!!! … and an honour bar for making cocktails! We splurged , 29th anniversary and all, and did their new (just opened in Sept) “Basin” (a nordic spa, scandinavian or thermal spa) at first we thought a lot of money but let me tell you….when we were leaving the Basin i felt like I should pay more. What an amazing experience! !!!! You must book this!!! I met a lady who had done both Banff Fairmont spa and this one and she said “no comparison” Fairmont Lake Louise is above and beyond!!! Do the Basin !! The staff … truly the best service ever experienced anywheres (& we travel a lot)!!!! I do have to give a couple of shout outs to some of the amazing staff: (there is more that should be listed here and I am sorry for not remembering their names). !!!! Anna !!!! our gold floor concierge. Truly above and beyond!!!! so amazingly kind to us ! and helped us plan our day trips with paper maps (we still prefer these) She sent us to some amazing places! and showed us what to do around Lake Louise too. she even , when she could tell that I had no clue, downloaded maps onto my phone so that when we were in areas without cell coverage we wouldn’t be lost. ….. I could go on & on about how so incredibly dear Anna is !!! also Nicole , massage therapist, truly one of the best massages ever had. magical hands !!! and !!!!! Romeo !!!! on the gold floor, hotel within hotel, the breakfast area has an omelette station (or eggs how you like) Romeo is second only to the sunrise!! He not only makes the best ever omelettes (or eggs how you like) He sets the day off to a beautiful start with his Smile, Kindness, Joy, enthusiasm for the day!!! Truly a beautiful & special man We also had an amazing dining experience at the Fairview with AJ as our waiter ! Wonderful service, so personal Thank you AJ Thank you All!! Arla & I will alway remember this trip and we look forward to returning

What an unforgettable birthday experience from start to finish! My stay at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise was truly magical from the moment I arrived. Everything about my stay felt luxurious and thoughtfully curated. The breathtaking views, the warm atmosphere, and the exceptional service made this birthday trip one I will never forget. The setting alone is breathtaking—waking up to the turquoise lake and surrounding mountains felt like stepping into a postcard. The rooms were beautifully appointed, comfortable, and spotless, offering breathtaking views that made every moment feel special. The staff were always warm and attentive, consistently going the extra mile to make the experience extraordinary. Jade warmly welcomed me, checked me in and made me feel truly appreciated. A massive thank-you to Sam, who went above and beyond by surprising me with a special birthday treat delivered to my room—along with a beautifully signed card from the staff. It was such a thoughtful touch and made me feel genuinely celebrated. Even checking in at the gate, I was wished Happy Birthday! Breakfast at Louisa was another highlight. Patricia and Candy were absolutely wonderful and full of positive energy. They made each morning feel extra special with their kindness and exceptional service. Every part of the stay was elevated by the people who work there. I left feeling appreciated, pampered, and eager to return! I highly recommend the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise to anyone looking for a truly memorable experience.
