This place was absolutely wonderful. We got there early so we checked out the cute little shop and even an interactive map of the glacier mountains. We then went out to hear the rules and safety information and shortly we were all assigned a horse (based on our weight and height). The wranglers there were super helpful and kind and helped us all onto our horses. We did the 2 hour trail ride and our trail guide stopped often to tell us interesting things about the land, horses, and even stopped to pick berries for us. We got to try thimble berries and huckleberries. Everyone there treated us very well. $140 for 2 hours is a total deal for what is provided.

We took the 2 hour tour in Glacier National Park. It was amazing. Folks were friendly. One was a true cowboy, with of course cowboy position on things, like women's place and intelligence which he tied to male and female horses, which I found funny, the wife, not so much, but he did try to walk some of it back. Also they were nearly 2 hours late in getting out on the trial, even though we were told to be there well in advance. Wasn't really cool to hear them talk on the radios how the cowboy was "probobly" babysitting the next group, as they were late. Took off one star for the nearly 2 hour wait, sure wife would have taken a few more off for the sexist talk, but she can if she reviews it. Overall amazing ride, great area and guides were great.

My family of 3 went on this morning’s 10am 2 hour Cracker Flats ride with their guide, Reagan. She was friendly, professional, and a great guide. She made sure we were safe, comfortable, and happy. The trail was through forest and then opened up to the flats where you could see the mountains all around. Truly gorgeous. Highly recommend.

What an amazing experience! I was in Montana on a yoga retreat and we went horseback riding one day while there. The wranglers we had were top notch, so friendly and knowledgeable! We all loved every minute of being there!

Months ago, I tried to book the Piegan Valley ride, but because I was a single rider, I wasn’t able to book it so they put me on the Josephine Lake ride with another group that had booked. Months went by, but a few days before my trip, I got a call that someone had booked the Piegan Valley tour and they would switch it! I was amazed they kept me on a wait list for months! All the female wranglers at Many Glacier corral were AMAZING! All very friendly and knowledgeable. Our guide, Amanda, was exceptional. She knew lots about the history of the park and the geology. I would highly recommend booking a ride!

Met up at base camp at around 3000’. Rode 12 miles in about 5 hours into the Swan Valley to the upper camp around 5400’. Upper camp was a beautiful camp nestled amongst the tall pines with the lion creek running through camp. Our source of water for the week coming from the melting snow still covering the swan mountain range. Camp was made up of 6 wall tents and a camp dining tent. Our tent had two cots which would be our home for the week. The food far exceeded my expectations. Kris was the camp cook and she was fantastic. We had restaurant quality breakfasts and dinners every day. And her packed lunches were just as good on our rides. We took two rides. One up through the lion creek pass into Bob Marshall. That ride was about two miles and took us to 7000’. After crossing the pass we found two beautiful mountain lakes. Swimming in the lakes was a great experience. So clear and cool. From this point we looked out across a vast wilderness. The second ride took us up towards the peak of swan mountain. Couldn’t make the peak. Rode to about 7500’ in only 1 1/2 miles. Very steep up and back. Becky and I hiked another 500’ in elevation to get to some snow. Where we made snowman in august. The wildflowers up there where everywhere. Thousands of them. Despite being in the most populated area of the lower 48 for both brown and black bears we didn’t see any. We did see a few elk and had mullies come into camp one morning. Our guides were incredible. Matt and Kyle. So knowledgeable and provided us with a great experience. The pictures and videos just don’t do this trip justice. And the horses were so incredible. We rode trials that barely had enough room for all four of their feet. And the way they ascended and descended those trails was amazing. Some so step we had to lead them down. The stars went on forever. We covered about 30 miles in 4 days and went from 3500’-8000’ and back. Such an appreciation for our horses. Mine was ‘hammer’. I cannot begin to explain how great sitting in the saddle feels and riding those trails. Montana I will be back. And if your looking for a top notch once in a lifetime experience visit Swan Mountain Outfitters. Best in the business.

My son and I took the half day Glacier Overlook ride with Swan Mountain Outfitters through the beautiful National Forest near Glacier National Park from their East West Glacier location. Caity was our guide and she made the ride very memorable and was always willing to stop the ride to make saddle and stirrup adjustments for the less experienced riders like my son and me. It just so happened that we were the only riders booked for our time slot, so we basically had a private trip. The ride took us up to a cliff edge that provided a beautiful view of Glacier National Park and the surrounding areas. Caity was very knowledgeable about the area, including the foliage and names/backgrounds of the various mountains. We were able to sit out on the cliff and soak in the beautiful nature around us. She even picked some huckleberries for us to sample. The ride was at a comfortable pace and included some inclines and declines adding just the right amount of difficulty for inexperienced riders like us! In talking with our guide, we learned how Swan Mountain Outfitters looks after their horses ensuring they are in good physical condition while not being overworked. While I didn’t have the opportunity to go horseback riding with another outfit, I believe I made a great choice and would definitely book another trip, possibly an all day ride ending with a cowboy cookout !

Incredible trip! Took the 3 day pack trip ~15 miles in. Coming from Chicago, the views were breathtaking. The experience was rewarding. Although our group was comfortable in the outdoors based on previous camping, we had barely any riding experience prior to this. Don’t let that stop you if you were like us. The guides (Nelson and Kevin) were informative, reaffirming, and listened. They took whatever concern you had seriously, and addressed it to ensure you were comfortable. It truly is your trip and what you want to do. Our camp cook, Stephanie, made fantastic meals, but we also found ourselves sitting at the table or riding the trails sharing stories with her. She was amazing. The rides can be hard at times—very steep inclines/switchbacks. But, you need to and learn to trust your horse. They’re incredible animals—literal athletes in every sense—that the outfitters truly care for and you learn to truly respect/admire. The horses have done these trails hundreds of times, so you quickly learn to trust what you learn during your orientation, but more importantly, trust your horse when technical parts of the trail come in front. Only negative/feedback I would give to SMO is to be more clear on tipping at the end of the trip. Although stated on the site and materials provided, it was still confusing at the end of the trip. All because we wanted to make sure we were compensating everyone appropriately for an amazing trip! Just caused a little frustration among the larger group but nothing to deter from this experience. You’ll see views you would never be able to see any other way. You’ll experience new, sometimes challenging but always rewarding, things when it comes to the ride. And, you’ll make some friends along the way. Recommending to all my friends/family. Thank you SMO! Will not forget this trip.

Whitefish Mountain Resort is a full-service ski resort located in Whitefish, Montana. The rustic condos and authentic lodge offer cozy accommodations with amenities like a large outdoor hot tub and a fireplace in the great room. The resort's upscale Cafe Kandahar, run by an award-winning chef, serves nightly tasting menus featuring delectable dishes. In addition to skiing, the resort offers summer activities such as mountain biking, hiking, and zip-lining.
It was my first visit to Whitefish, and it did not disappoint! The ski area is much larger than I expected. The snow was great for April! We were there for the pond skim, which was a ton of fun. I'm very focused on service and my standards are high. Whitefish did not disappoint! Every staff member and even the guests are friendly and helpful. You feel welcomed from the moment you arrive.

Beautiful, quiet resort located north of Whitefish, Montana. Summer activities include a chairlift ride to the summit for hiking or biking, and an alpine slide. Nice base lodge with both indoor and patio seating and a coffee shop.
Martin L — Google review
I drove up on a free day when my husband was in meetings. I had some difficulty locating where to park to access the ski lift. After 10 minutes of circling around in and out of private property, I found the ticket office. The kind man at the counter sold me a ticket and gave me precise directions to reach the lift area. The views close to the top and on top of the mountain are spectacular. The cafe at the summit house was great. There had a small.selection of sandwiches and salads and a nice bar area. I highly recommend.
Patricia H — Google review
Did the zip line which was expansive and thrilling. Very comfortable, but there is some short hiking in between positions. I would estimate half a mile total at most. Also did the alpine chutes and those were so much fun.
Aaron R — Google review
Summer at whitefish is almost as good as winter at whitefish. We enjoyed the ropes course, which is a challenge if you can make it all the way through to the expert course. We took a ride up to the top of the mountain, had some lunch and then slid down the mountain on the mountain luge.
Todd S — Google review
We took a ride to the Summit. There's a restaurant/bar there and beautiful views. You buy tickets in the Base Lodge. There are two lifts to get to the summit. Chair lift 6 is an open chair lift that drops you off at Lift 1. Lift 1 has both open lift chairs and gondolas. You can choose whichever one you prefer.
Kevin D — Google review
We did a few activities there and it was wonderful! We took a hike up to the top and stayed at the lodge for some hot chocolate because it was raining and cold. After we got warmed back up, we took the gondala back down for a scenic ride. All of the workers we met were very helpful and friendly. We went back a second day and bought a few rides on the Alpine slide. That was a ton of fun, the entire family enjoyed it. The only tricky thing in the summer is parking... There is ample parking, but kind of tricky to find the closest lot as there was some construction going on.
Michael B — Google review
We came here in early June and enjoyed a ride up to the top. It was an amazing view all around. I wish there were better directions to hiking around so we just hiked what we could find. Still beautiful and worth a trip up.

Nestled in a charming red barn known as the "whiskey barn," Glacier Distilling Company in Coram, Montana offers a unique experience for whiskey enthusiasts. The distillery is renowned for its diverse range of small-batch whiskeys and craft spirits, including moonshine and rye. Visitors can indulge in tastings and tours while admiring the picturesque surroundings on their way to or from Glacier National Park.
Perfect spot to stop at after a day at the park!! The staff was extraordinarily friendly and there are so many options for the tastings (I was so surprised). There is something for everyone! The cocktails and mocktails were great too and everything was very reasonably priced.
Zoe — Google review
What a great place to stop when traveling along HWY 2 between East and West Glacier. They have so many amazing cocktails to choose from, or about 50 local alcohols to sample. And a great clean and fun location to take a little break.
Thomasita — Google review
Love this place. They have options to try a flight of their spirits or a cocktail. Plus, we were able to sit outside. We enjoyed a flight and purchased a bottle to bring home. It is located close to Glacier National Park, so it is easy to stop on the way to the Park, or grab a drink after visiting the park. We enjoyed our visit.
Larry H — Google review
Passing through and saw this place off the highway. They offer a flight tasting which was nice to sample before picking the right gifts to bring back home. Prices were very reasonable! Service was friendly and prompt. Highly recommend!
Winston D — Google review
Great pitstop near the park. They offer a wide variety of liquors made in house. A flight of four samples was inexpensive and everything was tasty. The staff was wonderful.
Julie D — Google review
Very neat place with some interesting and flavorful choices. The Grand Prismatic Spiced Rum, Bearproof, and Badrock were some of our favorites.
Greg D — Google review
Really fun stop. The tasting flights are fun, 6 bucks for 4 tastes and the option to do another or get a cocktail. The Rocky Mtn Caesar was spicy and delicious! Got a few bottles for friends. Reasonable prices and nice merch!
Tonya V — Google review
Amazing little distillery in one of the most beautiful places on the planet. Me and two friends rolled in right after open and had some of the best customer service I've ever had. The whiskey is excellent, the tasting experience is amazing, the cocktails are great, and the staff is so friendly. Next time I'm in the area I'll be back for sure!

Conrad Mansion Museum

Museum
Sights & Landmarks
The Conrad Mansion Museum, built in 1895 and now fully restored, offers guided tours by period-dressed guides. It is a significant part of Kalispell's history and boasts beautiful gardens ideal for picnics or leisurely walks. The mansion's Christmas tour is especially enchanting due to its stunning decorations every year. Inside the house are original pieces from clothing to cookware and electrical appliances.
The special events at Conrad Mansion Museum are excellent!! We really enjoyed the "Ghost Tours" and meeting Dracula, the soft and friendly black cat. A recommendation would be for the group tour hosts to spotlight the "story actors" in the rooms with a small penlight. That way, we can see the outfits or costumes they are wearing and gives them an eerie appearance - especially the main foyer host, female telling the artist story in the bedroom and the guy in the kitchen. The screams heard throughout the house from the encounters with the "closet creature" really added to the experience. I enjoyed the story of the roofless Halloween Party that started at midnight. The whole experience was really well done and definitely worth the drive. Continued success!!
Zeke N — Google review
Amazing tour. This house is incredible. The tour guide was very informative and vast knowledge of information on this house. The things in this house were definitely ahead of their time. Highly recommend. The gardens are beautiful. The house is very well preserved with a lot of original artifacts. Definitely worth a stop. You also get greeted by the mansion cat. He was very sweet.
Stacey G — Google review
What an amazing historic experience! We went with children 9-12yrs and everyone enjoyed the whole thing. We did a self tour and spent a good hour wandering around looking at everything. 90% of the antiques and furniture are all original to the Conrad family so its like a time capsule of life in the later 1800's. Really recommend stopping!
Cherith H — Google review
I like here very much! Is worth to visit this beautiful place! Around 90% furnitures /items are original in museum which make me surprised on that.
Siao S — Google review
Great thought out tour of the Conrad mansion. We really enjoyed the tour. At just over an hour, we definitely got our money’s worth. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.
Eliot V — Google review
Beautiful home with a lot of interesting history. The home is well kept as are the grounds. In the home we were told by the staff 90% of the furnishings and artifacts are original to the home which is quite unusual.
Kirk P — Google review
A true historical treasure. The house itself is beautiful, and so well kept. It looks like the family just left for the day, and would be back later that evening. That’s how good it looks. Our guide was Micah. She was a wealth of knowledge, funny, and knew how to wrangle the kids to where they were just fascinated with everything.
Fire A — Google review
I loved learning about the history of the area and this mansion. Unfortunately, the Ghost Tours were all sold out but we still enjoyed walking the grounds and peeking in whatever windows we could. Hopefully, when we return, it will be open once more to the public. :)

Bigfork Summer Playhouse

Event venue
Concerts & Shows
Theaters
Rising college-age stars perform in popular Broadway musicals at this summer stock theater.
In full disclosure before I review, my daughter is a cast member. We travelled to see her perform in all four shows. My husband and I kept saying to each other after every show "...no one is going to believe us back home when we tell them how absolutely professional and amazing these shows are". Our family has seen a good bit of theatre over the last 5 years (and paid much more for tickets) and are so incredibly impressed with the quality of the Bigfork Summer Playhouse shows that we just saw. The choreography was top-notch! Vocals absolutely stellar! Transitions were seamless. The live musicians were excellent. Also, I am not sure when/if I have ever seen better acting! Drowsy Chaperone was hysterical...the whole audience was laughing most of the time. Joseph was a delight on many levels. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers was simply beautiful. Mama Mia was so great that we were still singing the songs in the car on the way home. I will most certainly follow the careers of many of these actors to watch for their inevitable successes professionally!
Mandy C — Google review
I took my 3 high school girlfriends who came to town, with husbands, as we celebrated 56 years since graduation. We saw All Shook Up and loved it!! My husband and I have seen several shows here the last couple summers. Truly a very professional group of actors from all over the country.
Barbara B — Google review
Went to "Catch Me if you Can" last night and it was amazing! Awesome show! Especially the girls, they were all suuuuper hot! Bigfork Summer Playhouse always delivers great shows and a great variety!
Patrick C — Google review
This is a wonderful playhouse! The actors are incredible! It's professional level quality! So excited to watch Mamma Mia this year, they did a performance a couple years back & it was hilarious!!! This place is awesome, and I can't watch to watch the plays this summer! Who needs to watch a movie, when you can watch a live performance... standing ovation, & lots of applause for Bigfork Summer Playhouse :)
Dylan W — Google review
We had a wonderful time and fell right into the story the actors portrayed. Something Rotten was a humorous experience with one surprise after another.
Allison S — Google review
The production was songs from 4 decades, and the cast did a fantastic job! We thoroughly enjoyed it. The cast was very talented!

Our family had such a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the Playhouse. 10/10 would recommend.

Flathead Lake

Lake
Nature & Parks
Bodies of Water
Large freshwater lake featuring several small islands & a variety of native & non-native fish.
This is one of the most beautiful places in the world. We wish we could have spend more time here. All of the people living in this area are lovely as well.
Katharina R — Google review
I forgot how much costs to enter but I do know it wasn’t super expensive. I suggest bringing snacks and watch out for ants and other insects or animals. The water is super clear and the bottom is rocky. A good pair of swim shoes is much needed or your feel will hurt or you risk hurting yourself. But all in all a great spot to relax whether you’re in or out of the water. The views are simply amazing.

It really is so clear here! Very peaceful and beautiful place to visit and even my small baby boy loved it here!

Stayed here for a week and I absolutely loved it. This is one of the best lakes I’ve ever been to. We stayed in a lake home just outside Lakeside and it was great. The lake is relatively warm in the summer, (still pretty cold) and the scenery is amazing. The snow on the mountain tops never leaves even in the summer. You’ll love your stay here. Make sure to go to Wild Horse Island!
Al C — Google review
Beautiful and calm lake for kayaking. We enjoyed our trip to Bigfork MT. This lake has so much to offer. We only wished we rented jet skis for the day. Was chilly at the end of June but that didn’t stop us from taking a dip after kayaking.
Christie B — Google review
Long overdue post. But we stayed here in an airbnb on the lake the week of the 4th of July 2019. The water was crystal clear. It's absolutely an amazing getaway vacation spot!!!! The only thing I wish we would have done was rent a boat to further check out the lake or do a fishing tour. We have wanted to go back but continue to pick somewhere different every year. 1 day I wouldn't mind buying a house on or very near the lake!!!!
Frankie V — Google review
Flathead Lake in Montana is an amazing sight to see as you're cresting the hill heading towards Polson on its southern shore. The valley and this lake were formed by the glaciers that covered this area. The receding glaciers and the massive ice jambs that formed and broke on more than one occasion left us with this awe-inspiring, extremely majestic landscape. The lake sits to the south of Glacier National Park and is 27 miles long, 15 miles wide, and 370' deep with a gravel bottom and crystal clear waters. Wild Horse State Park is located on an island only accessible by a guided boat tour. It is home to a wild herd of horses and remains relatively untouched by humans. Cool place to visit if you are in the area. I have watched storms cross this lake that kick up the waves and leave a distinct line in the surface of the water you can see when you come out of the storm into clear blue skies. The lake covers enough surface area that you might have storms on one area of the lake and sunny and hot in others. It's hard to believe this valley was once under a large body of water known as "Lake Missoula." When the ice dams broke on this massive body of water it caused the "Missoula floods"; a huge wall of water, mud, rocks and trees that stretched into Washington and Oregon thousands of years ago. This is what is left of that event, a place for us to explore and enjoy. A landscape that only mother nature could come up with. As always, leave it better than you found it. It literally took thousands of years to make...... Enjoy 😉!.

We had a wonderful ride on the Clark Fork with Marley! She was great and showed us a good time! We did fall in on Rollercoaster, but the rescue was in an instant and very professional. It was a great day, all in all. Mike was great at scheduling and helping us plan. A different Mike took great photos, and we have wonderful memories of a great day on the river! Montana River Guides is a great choice for rafting!

With 38 hand-carved ponies and two chariots, this vibrant ride offers fun for all ages. The experience of reaching for the golden ring adds to its charm.
I love carousels. This one is well maintained and generates smiles for young, old, and young at heart! Each pony has a history, and there is a lot of history about the making of the carousel on site as well. There is a lovely little gift shop where I was able to purchase an ornament of the pony rode. It is also located next to the riverwalk, so you can take a stroll or a swim. If you're in Missoula, you should visit this place.

Our little one loved the Carrousel for Missoula. The carrousel itself is amazing. Clean, neat and very fast. But more than that, the playground and area around it is amazing too. We had lots of fun.

This place is so amazing and the people who run it are so kind. Our grandma is in a wheel chair and they kindly had accommodations to safely get her on the ride in her wheel chair to ride with her grand daughter. She said her best memories as a little girl were riding the carousel and she was so happy to relive those memories with us. We absolutely will be back

This was the highlight of my kiddo's week. He had so much fun. It is only $1 for kids and $2 for adults! We rode it twice! The elderly man running it made it so much fun for my kiddo the way he interacted with him!! The playground outside is amazing! We didn't want to leave!

We’ve come up for the summer the last 3 years and this continues to be one of my kids favorite spots in town. They’ve done a great job of preserving and maintaining this awesome landmark. Prices are reasonable and employees are SO friendly!

Hosted a party on 7/26 for my daughter's birthday. Mr. Jeff made things SO easy, his fun positive attitude made everything so easy, all of the staff working that day was so nice! Highly recommend!!

Beautiful carousel, but heartbreaking to see so many dead birds outside. I visited today and found three dead birds that had flown into the mirrored walls surrounding the carousel. This can’t be the first time. Mirrors confuse birds because they reflect the sky and trees, making them think they can fly through. Please, this needs to be fixed. Stickers alone won’t solve the problem. Why not invite the community to paint over the mirrors with something creative and beautiful that still keeps the carousel’s charm while saving the birds’ lives? I’ll gladly take down this review when the issue is addressed — but until then, it’s too sad to ignore.

Such a neat place with so many ways to enjoy the time!! Just had my child’s birthday there and was extremely satisfied! Haley and Shaun did such an amazing job with catering to myself and the party guests!! 100% perfection!! Thank you to the team and Tracy for making this private party possible!!

Ghost town
Sights & Landmarks
Hiking area
Garnet Ghost Town is a well-preserved 1890s gold-mining town that offers a glimpse into the gold rush era. The compact log cabins with period furnishings and over a dozen preserved buildings in a state of 'arrested decay' transport visitors back to the rapid rise and fall of cities during that time. While some structures are open for exploration during visiting hours, the site can be visited any time roads are clear.
A place you should definitely visit when you are nearby! Garnet is one of Montana's most intact ghost towns. It symbolizes an important era in Montana's hard rock mining history. Substantial effort has gone into stabilizing and protecting the remaining historic structures. We had a nice time exploring the old buildings.
Sebastian — Google review
A fun experience! There are 2 gravel roads in and out The Cave Gulch road is a little scary if you're in a low car or aren't used to gravel I'd avoid the Gulch road. We spent about 1 hour here as a family. Definitely worth the stop.
Sarah T — Google review
Such an incredibly fun experience, Garnet had been so well preserved it’s like walking through time and as you walk the grounds history almost comes alive. They have maps available at the gift shop and in a box near the entrance of the town, there are also several plaques which tell information about each building. A great place to spend the day exploring, also don’t forget about the small ghost settlement on the way in called Coloma.
Justin B — Google review
Really nice place. Great history and nicely presented. Great staff. Worth the drive. ...nice cars and RVs highly not suggested to travel the road in. Gravel washboard and miles of it but super cool when you get there.
Madeline S — Google review
Beautiful scenic drive to get there. Saw deer along the road and cows were munching right in the parking lot. Feels like everyone just left a decade ago. Worth the trip if you like the history.
Michelle G — Google review
Definitely worth a stop the pay is by honor system with envelope so better to bring cash and pen The road is fine if you go off the highway 200 part. We did it in our beater car and just drove 20mph. Once you turn to go to ghost town follow the signs not the gps . You have to walk a little bit from parking lot to the building so if you aren’t Mobile I would park on the lower part (even if you don’t have handicap sticker) The gift store was cute. We bought sticker for $1. You don’t have to necessarily go in every building but I would say the hotel and general store are worth seeking out Decently clean pit toilet at top of parking lot and bottom where handicap parking lot is. Some picnic benches but no food sold on property. There was bottles of water in gift store and fill up tap for your own bottle
Celena V — Google review
Be very careful if attempting the drive from I-90, the 2nd half of the road is very rough sharp rocks on an unmaintained trail. We punctured a tire on a Jeep Grand Cherokee on the way up......be prepared!

This was an amazing piece of history to visit and the staff are very friendly! Do make sure that you have cash on you as their systems yo accept card can go down and it is also in a cellular dead zone so app purchases may not work either.

Gem Mountain Philipsburg

Mine
Sights & Landmarks
Gem Mountain Philipsburg is a popular destination for gem enthusiasts, offering the opportunity to mine for local sapphires. Located just outside of Philipsburg, Montana, this attraction allows visitors to wash and sort through gravel in search of precious gems during the warmer months. Additionally, Gem Mountain has a year-round gift store in Philipsburg where visitors can continue their sapphire mining experience indoors.
We visited the mine location over the weekend and had the full day VIP area booking. We had such a great time. The staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable, always available to answer questions and help wash our gravel. We have a special needs child and it was easy and comfortable for her to enjoy the day with us at the mine. Looking forward to our next visit!
Shantel W — Google review
We had a great time looking for sapphires in the downtown location. Staff was friendly and we found some pretty nice stones that we are having cut!
Renee R — Google review
Bought a 2 gallon bucket of gravel for $55, despite the AI overview telling me it was $22, and managed to extract 15 carats of smaller Saphires. Two were gem grade and could have been processed into gems but chose to just hang on to them. We spent a couple hours of fun learning how to handle the gravel to find the gems. It was a blast.
Roy B — Google review
We were contacted by 3 different staff members and they were all rude. We also overheard a couple of phone conversations while waiting to be helped that were unprofessional. The setup wasn't great. Very dirty water for cleaning our dirt, table tops that were uneven, and trying to get out with our sapphires was taking forever. We ended up just putting them in our pockets since we couldn't get anyone to get us a baggie. 2 buckets. $100, maybe 20 sapphires -- nothing of real value.
Randy O — Google review
I didn't realize you could sift for your own sapphires at this location, I thought it was at the mine only. The employees were amazing and so helpful. Huge shout out to Dean you made the whole experience worth it! I cant wait to come back.
Christy B — Google review
Rock hounding at Gem Mountain in the city of Phillipsburg MT was a blast. Constance was so helpful, sweet and knowledgeable - she made our experience fun and interesting. Angie, also very knowledgeable and lovely, evaluated our sapphire finds so we know what we found. We will be back! Recommend highly.
Terri R — Google review
We drove hours and hours out of our way to buy bags of sapphire pay dirt. Their website said they had it at the store in town. When we arrived they were very dismissive and said they didn't have any for the summer because they were just too busy. Go across the street to the better gem store. They were super nice and had LOTS of pay dirt from 2 different mines!! Get it together, Gem Mountain.
Juliet K — Google review
Overall it was a fun experience BUT once we had our stones, the gal evaluating them was not pleasant, not helpful and looked like she wanted to be anywhere but helping us. We ended up just taking whatever stones we had and left. The last impression was the lasting impression of the place. Next time we will go elsewhere.

Old Montana Prison & Auto Museum Complex

Specialty Museums
Highly Recommend! Very interesting and educational. So much history! We only had time to tour the prison and auto museum but if you have 2 days, you can enjoy 3 other museums with your admission ticket. Very enjoyable experience and such friendly staff. Over 200 beautiful cars organized well by decades. Nicest car museum I have ever toured. I am not passionate about cars, but I really enjoyed it!
Stacie P — Google review
Highly recommend! My husband and I stopped by shortly before they closed and were able the check out the old prison. The staff were kind enough to let us back the next morning to see the car museum the next day, free of charge. We are so happy we stopped here to check out this museum on our way to Glacier, super interesting and fun experience! The staff were so friendly! We got a discount having AAA
Rachel P — Google review
My husband & I visited both museums. Well worth the cost of admission & the time. The self guided tour is amazing. You can walk through nearly all of the prison. So much information & education. The auto museum is a car enthusiast’s dream. Vehicles dating back to about 1914 & into the 1970’s. Would highly recommend!
Tina S — Google review
It's such a cool place to visit. Amazing auto exhibit. The old prison is really neat to explore. The other museums across the street are interesting blasts from the past. Highly recommend checking out this fun place in Deer Lodge. Montana.
Amanda M — Google review
Amazing experience! Tickets are good for a second visit, upto 1 year. Includes several museums in town. Allow about 3 plus hours just for the prison and antique cars, depending on walking pace, interest in cars , and reading the info on self guided tour. Great little gift shop too!
Christy M — Google review
This prison looks like a castle, and it's incredible. I love the history around it, too. A must see if you're in the area. They also have an incredible car museum, and I would say 90% is owned by one person. It's a really nice collection. There are 5 places included in your entry. I couldn't believe you got so much for so cheap. That never happens. Don't forget your AARP if you qualify.
Beatriz S — Google review
We stopped for an antique store and wandered over for the museum. Definitely worth the stop and highly recommended. The prison portion was very unique and interesting. Then add in the extensive auto museum. Their was worth the entry price.

The World Museum of Mining in Butte, founded in 1963, is a tribute to the town's mining legacy. It offers a recreated 1890s mining town experience and showcases various exhibits on the tools and history of mining. Visitors can take guided tours into the Orphan Girl Mine, participate in educational programs, summer camps for kids, and engaging field trips.
This is a neat museum to see. Be there before 2pm to catch the last tours underground. There is plenty to see on the 20 something acres above though. Good place to kill a couple of hours strolling around and exploring unguided too. It's at the back of the Montana tech school so keep on going if you think you're lost. Check it out, lots of neat stuff to see.

Had a great time here. If you stop here I would recommend the tour as a must do activity. The tour is about an hour and half and is great! Our tour guide Tim could have convinced me he actually was a miner with the detailed information he was providing. You will see the above ground support equipment and then walk into a ‘new’ museum tunnel to an original mine area. Have good shoes and you will be wearing a hard hat with light, and eye protection. There was only one slight low ceiling height area I noticed but still over 6’. The mine walk was all on packed ground - sloped but stable. The flat areas had water and some mud like areas but I was able to come out clean. Had a jacket but did not use was very comfortable - high 90’s outside - 60’s in mine , was great. Outside of the mine there are numerous exhibits to take in. Large replica mining town can be explored- I felt like I was on a movie set. If taking the tour I would plan on a 3 hour stay. Large gift shop as well. Plenty of parking. We didn’t purchase tour tickets in advance but I would recommend it as we were lucky to make the last tour of the day.
Paul P — Google review
Nicely done d museum with inside exhibits of minerals taken locally and outside exhibits of the mines workings. A good reapers ration of what was underneath the ground. Get tickets ahead for the mine tour. We missed out because it was full and we had a timeline. Hour and a half tour. Comprehensive. Worth a stop

The mining museum was a highlight to our weekend in Butte. I highly recommend the underground mine tour! Our tour guide, Ken was very knowledgeable and hilarious. He made the mining history come to life. Going underground was a whole new experience. It was the best time.
Malia J — Google review
The buildings in the above-ground village have extremely interesting displays with rare objects from the time periods. Ken was our guide for the pump house and the underground mine and his knowledge was paralleled with his sense of humor, making the experience a real treat. Mining is in his blood - his great grandfather worked in these mines! Thank you, World Museum of Mining for a truly unique and memorable experience.

I flew my family across the country for the Copper Kings 100 mile ultra marathon here in Butte. The underground tour was a great gateway to understanding Butte’s history and to see what lies below the surface of this fascinating area. Ken, our guide, kept everyone engaged - including my 7 and 11 year old. The ground was just a little muddy and the walk had frequent stops. No one had any trouble keeping up. Our guide offered to take pictures of our group at several cool spots and the pictures came out so well. We could see our breath in the mine so take a sweatshirt. The bathrooms were clean and the ride to and from the museum offered great views. Yes, you should do this tour.
Wendy H — Google review
We had a wonderful experience, we had a fantastic guide (Ken) who was very knowledgeable, friendly and fun. The kids enjoyed going underground to get a better understanding of what mining is all about out . We enjoyed walking around after our tour to see the different buildings - fun to learn that many are real structures relocated here to Butte.
Catie P — Google review
From San Antonio, Texas visiting out in Butte for my son birthday. He really wanted to go there so he can go into the mine itself. Overall was an amazing trip. Price wise was worth it. I have paid more money for tours that was nothing compared to theirs. Learned a lot about the town and its history with mining in general. Our tour guide was awesome. I’ll share photos of him. His rock jokes kind of like dad jokes but made it a funny tour to remember lol definitely recommend checking it out especially the part of the tour where they take you down the mine. Go down about 100 ft in and just awesome. Never in my life did I think I go into a mine or even that far deep into the earth itself just an experience I recommend anyone to try out. Thank you to the staff for an amazing time and to our tour guide who made a memory we won’t forget

Berkeley Pit Viewing Stand

Vista point
Sights & Landmarks
This former copper-mine viewing point overlooks the huge open pit, now flooded with water.
Photos were taken Friday, September 27, 2024. Admission was only $5/ person during our trip. This is one of the most beautiful (and toxic) bodies of water, that doesn't seem real unless you see it in person with your own two eyes! There are some signs in the viewing area as well.
Dani M — Google review
Super unique and interesting place to see if you're in Butte! Tons of informative signs to tell you what's going on, and why the water is so delicious looking yet so toxic! Grab some cool souvenirs in the shop too!
Jonathan K — Google review
This is a tough one to review. It’s a very interesting spot with a wild history. I think it’s good to see it at once as a reminder what humans can do to the earth. The gentleman working there was very nice and they had beautiful items for sale. But $6 is a lot to just look at the pit. Not to mention the amount and the web site are not updated. The hours and cost is incorrect. Still, I’m going to rate it four stars because I think it’s worth seeing once and it supports the bird deterrents. If it was still $3 and the web site updated I’d rate it 5. It’s amazing how beautiful something deadly can be.
Bonnie C — Google review
Very interesting quick stop for sure. It's our history and it's ongoing..... Well done sight but the price went from 3$ to 6$ which is a bit much and it did make me a bit sad which is why its a4 star. Not tons of RV parking but it was fairly empty when we visited.

It is true, the toxic sludge pit is much, much more pretty in person The viewing stand is also a great place to see the Virgin Mary statue in the mountains

Open during set hours. Access is controlled. Small fee but great view of the toxic Berkley Pit. Worth the stop. Gift shop also on site, where you purchase admission. Nice people. Popular site.

We were lucky enough to be there when the trolly tour was there. So, we heard a lot of the history, what the Dept of Natural Resources and The Pitt’s management team was doing to mitigate the toxicity of the place and damage to wildlife that had been happening. That made it really interesting. Otherwise it’s big Pitt filled with green water!

Our weekday visit to Mesa Falls, specifically the upper falls, was uncrowded. We made a delightful detour on our way to Salt Lake City and were pleasantly surprised by this wonderful and highly recommended attraction. Please note the following: 1. A self-check-in process requires exact cash of $5. You'll need to write down your vehicle details, place the cash in an envelope, and drop it in the provided box. 2. Entry is free if you have an annual national park pass. 3. Small trails are available in the area if you have extra time. Public restrooms are available, though they are low maintenance/service.

What a fascinating place! I did the self-guided tour. There is so much to learn about the development of nuclear power at this first site of its development in the 1950s. It was a great visit. It's just less than a hour from Idaho Falls, so go if you are in the city!
Dawn B — Google review
A great experience and free! So much history available to learn and see how things worked. It was interesting and informative to us and our teenager. Kayla was welcoming and explained our options, Liem was our guide and was knowledgeable and friendly, loved that the guided tours are free, or we can explore on our own. Would love to see a donation or tip jar available to help support and reward their time!
Sonya B — Google review
IT WAS AWESOME! AND TOTALLY FREE! Liam was out tour guide, he was very knowledgeable and a fun personality. You also don't have to do the guided tour and just wander around. However I strongly recommend it! You can also push whatever buttons you want. That was fun.

This is such an underrated and under-advertised place! It's so cool, and it's FREE!! We drove by yesterday and didn't know what it was, so we googled it and ended up turning around and driving back today. We are so glad to have toured around this museum. There are guided and unguided tour options; we opted to self-guide, based on our time restrictions. We wish we could have spent more time here because there's so much to see and learn. If you're driving through this area, stopping at EBR-1 is absolutely worth your time. We plan to recommend this place to all of our friends.

This place was a wonderful stop with quirky history and clean restrooms. The staff is very friendly and gives personal tours. It really is worth the stop. There is a nuclear powered aircraft engine outside. Do you play Fallout? This place helped me understand that people in the 50s really believed nuclear power was the future. Free admission.

This is an awesome free museum featuring a huge energy milestone. Stop for about an hour, or more like 1.5-2 if you're a huge nerd like me. Great self-guided tour brochure, friendly workers. Very cool to be able to push buttons on a nuclear control panel. An incredible bit of history that you won't see anywhere else.

* We visited in September 2025, so I'm not sure if the temporarily closed notice is accurate* Such a neat free roadside museum. We don't have any major interests in atomic history, but it still was nice to take the moment to reflect on the history that pushed us forward globally. There was a lot of information about the individuals themselves that worked here, which was really interesting.

Bear World is a wildlife park in Rexburg, Idaho, with opportunities to see bears in their natural habitat. The park features a drive-thru facility as well as petting zoo and kid's rides.
This is a great little break from a road trip. I love bears and seeing them this close was really fun. Highly recommend going and seeing the gift shop alongside the baby bears. They are super cute as well. We also had huckleberry ice cream that was really really good. But I’m excited to come back and see more bears!
Kyle M — Google review
This is a little out of the way for most people. But it was a blast! Great for families. We saw so many bears, they walk right by the car. They also have bison, elk, deer, and much more. They also have a small amusement park, which is great for kids and adults. And then there is Jurassic River where they have a couple dozen life size animatronic dinosaurs... this was very cool. Oh, and you can feed/milk baby bears. These were 8 months old as of this post
Thomas P — Google review
This place was okay. The best part was the bear cubs! They were so cute! 😍 It is a very kid friendly place with carnival rides and dinosaurs. The drive through the bear area was okay as well. Couldn't see many cause they were too far away, wish you could have your windows down to take pictures but I understand why you can't. It would have been cool to feed a bear cub but it was kind of pricy at $75 a person. They had some bison and elk before you go into the bear driving area. Overall fun experience but definitely geared more for younger kids.
Stephanie — Google review
Expensive but so much fun and more to do than I thought. If you are traveling to Yellowstone and really want to see bears, this is definitely a must stop! There were a ton of bears as well as Elk, Deer, Bison, Goats, and birds. You can see most animals in the drive through section. In the park, they have a petting zoo where you can pet the goats, deer, pigs, and ducks. They also have a spot you can see the baby bears pretty close up and they are really fun! The dinosaur world is really cool and feels like you are walking into Jurassic park. My kids had a blast there. They also have about 6 rides you can go on. My son enjoyed it and was happy he could ride all the rides (have to be at least 36" to ride with an adult on some rides). We went on a weekday and they only had one attendant running the rides so we had to wait around a bit for them to go ride to ride. They also have a fun gift shop with different souvenirs including a build a bear experience. My son really loved the cotton candy machine. Overall, I definitely think it is a place to check out and you could spend all day there if you wanted
Kayli F — Google review
Definitely a blast! Fair prices for all that is provided. The rides are definitely more of a carnival style and for littler kids roughly 10 and under. the bear drive was AWESOME my kids loved it. Dinosaur Creek was super cool and a lot cramped in a smaller place.
Ashley B — Google review
This was *perfect* for my 7-year-old! The rest of us enjoyed it, but not as much as younger children would. The rides and dinosaur area were more suited for younger children. We spent a great morning here! I would say arrive early to avoid the crowds and beat the heat. We only spent a few hours going at a leisurely pace. It lost a star because I was kind of ticked at the feeding the bears tour- we did the family pass because it was more affordable. If you’re not on the favored side, though, you just see a LOT less. The right side (left of you’re looking at the vehicle, right for the tour guide and when you’re being loaded on) faces into the park while the left side faces the outer fringe *the entire tour*. You can guess what side we were on. We couldn’t see the grizzlies, especially when they started fighting over food. We heard the other side see it. Sounded cool. We couldn’t see the white baby elk. We were facing away from the elders of the black bears. We threw our food to nothing 70% of the time, we had one tenacious black bear that was smart enough to go to the neglected side. So do yourself a favor and choose the right side!
Sheri M — Google review
BEAR WORLD is the best! I've been a dozen times or so. The most fun is the bottle feeding the bear cubs and all the extra activities you can plan. My family and I come 3-4 times per season.
Logan F — Google review
Really cool animal park. We came to see the bears, but we were surprised at the amazing elk! The bears were really cool too! We were surprised at the price—it’s per person, not per vehicle. And we wish we would have known that the pass lasts for multiple days. We would have come a few times to make it worth it. The rides were free though, so that’s a perk!

Idaho Falls River Walk - Greenbelt Trail is a picturesque pathway that runs along the Snake River, providing stunning views of the city's iconic waterfall. The trail spans about five miles and offers access to various attractions, including the Art Museum of Eastern Idaho. Along the way, visitors can enjoy art installations, waterfront parks for picnics, and interpretive signs.
We were passing through Idaho Falls. We decided to take a detour and check out the falls. This place was beautiful. If I had the time, I would have loved to walk the 5-mile trail. While this is not a natural waterfall, it was still amazing to see. We even saw that you could take a boat tour if you wanted to.

The Idaho Falls Greenbelt is an absolute must-do for both locals and visitors. It's a testament to urban planning that seamlessly blends natural beauty with city convenience. Whether you're seeking a peaceful escape, a refreshing workout, or a way to explore the heart of Idaho Falls, the Greenbelt offers an exceptional experience and even more captivating view of the Snake River and its waterfalls! It's a beautiful, accessible, and enjoyable pathway that truly showcases the best of the city's riverside charm.

Nice, pleasant riverwalk. We really enjoyed stretching our legs. Free street parking, lots of restaurants, families and young people out taking an evening stroll. Informational signage like a national park.

Great night for a walk. Idaho Falls river walk. I came across a place where hundreds of pad locks are lift behind. What is the meaning of this? Are they dreams that didn't get shared, are they secrets locked away forever never to be thought of again. Are they memories locked here and forgotten. Only the person that left their lock here knows why.... it was a great walk

Great views of a waterfall that is part man-made, part natural that only drops maybe 12 feet or so, but goes on for 100 yards or more over many rocky areas. The best part is on the west side just N of the broadway bridge up to views of the temple (1/2 mile one way). Doing the loop on both sides through that section is 2.3 miles. Asphalt throughout. Rest rooms. Many benches. Even a couple swings.

Great trail for running, biking, walking and enjoying the beauty created along the way! Restaurants all around and close to hotels. Family and dog friendly- kids were fishing and enjoying the park!

I came to visit my daughter and we decided to take a walk. The scenery was nice with the fall colors still hanging on, even though the peak color had passed already. It was a beautiful day for the walk and definitely lowered my stress level with the peaceful surroundings.

Museum
Children's museum
The Museum of Idaho, established in 2003, is housed in a historic building that was once a public library built in 1898. The museum showcases the history and culture of Idaho through engaging exhibits on science, regional history, and archives. Visitors can explore collections covering paleontology, archaeology, geology, and the history of Idaho's native inhabitants and 19th-century settlers.
Excellent museum for the size of Idaho Falls. Covers natural history back to the dinosaur ages and the geology. Covers people history from the Native Americans through the founding of Idaho into a few decades ago. Has a darkened street on the first level with about 8 businesses from over 100 years ago making you feel like you’re back in time. Including the rotating exhibit - took us over 2 hours. Has several interactive areas for kids ranging from shoot the mammoth to a play area as if you’d lived 100 years ago.
Dave C — Google review
The museum is full of history, it is very exciting to take the children and show them the history. The wax sculpture of the mammoth is so real, there are agricultural stations and a small demonstration of a police station, barber shop, tailor shop, candy store, among others.
Veronica A — Google review
The mummy exhibits was one of the best I’ve ever seen! They had a variety of different kinds of mummies from all over the world and there was even a few mummified animals. I enjoyed the back stories of the mummies and the history lessons of the artifacts. I also really like their permanent exhibits with the different animals, fossils, history of the Old West and Idaho. It was a fun and unique way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Pretty cool place for those (such as myself) that like history.....if you're in the area, it's worth a couple hours to take in all the information.....all it sets you back is $20....less for seniors/children etc.

They have the mummies of the world exhibit going on right now and it’s absolutely amazing. The museum itself is a pretty good size and so many different rooms. Lots for kids to do and see. I absolutely recommend going.

It was a small Museum but it has an amazing history to tell everyone about Idaho. I really enjoyed what they offered to the visitors. I wished it had a bit more bones of dinosaurs. It still was entertaining. I got to learned a lot about the exposures. I highly recommend it to visit Idaho falls.

Idaho Potato Museum & Potato Station Cafe

Museum
Cafe
Exhibits on the history & cultivation of potatoes in a former train depot with a cafe & gift shop.
We stopped here on our Idaho road trip and it was one of our favorite stops! We didn’t make it there until 30 minutes before closing time and the front desk staff were still super friendly and encouraged us to visit. The cafe was still open and happily served us a huge baked potato that was delicious. The museum itself is informative, fun, and funny. We had lots of laughs, even as adults without children along. Highly recommend.
Jan H — Google review
Informational and educational tour, from potato origination from South America to nowadays agricultural mass production. Everything potatoes: fries, potato chips, potato toys, and then potato restaurant. Baked potatoes require two hours ahead reservation. The front sign even had a camera stand set up for you to take solo or group photos. There are kids play zone, 3D cameras to view 360 potato fields. Easy parking, friendly staff, and clean interiors.
Susan D — Google review
Fun little stop. Informative. Very friendly staff. They give packages of instant potatoes free to out of state visitors. The cafe was decent and you have to get something made of potato here! Gift shop had lots of cute items.
Jennifer A — Google review
What a cute museum! Super well done, and very affordable t-shirts. The cafe didn’t have ice cream which we were bummed about, but they did sell local bags of chips. We learned a lot and had fun doing it. I would recommend.
Angela K — Google review
Fun little pit stop. The museum is small but is good for 20min. Lots of neat old farming implements from the potato industry. There are some kids games too. The cafe has lots of fresh cut French fries and baked potatoes. My suggestion : Ice Cream Potatoes (Idahoans will know) There is a small admission fee.
Blake B — Google review
This was a fun and interesting stop. Museum was affordable at $7. Lots of interesting information. Great learning experience for children. Gift shop was small but had a lot of options. Cafe served lots of potato options. Had read that you needed to order a baked potato 2 hours ahead of time, but they had plenty available when we stopped.

Awesome place to visit. Went as a family on a weekday afternoon while traveling in the area. Glad we stopped! The Idaho Potato Museum is a delightful gem that celebrates the rich history and significance of potatoes in Idaho and beyond. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a fascinating array of exhibits that showcase everything from the potato's journey from farm to table to its role in local culture. One of the highlights is the extensive collection of potato memorabilia, including quirky potato-themed art and historical artifacts that offer a glimpse into the past. The interactive displays make learning fun, and there's plenty of information for both kids and adults. Our two teenage kids had a fun time in the interactive area, even creating a few Mr. Potato heads of their own. The museum's layout is well-organized, allowing visitors to explore at their own pace. Don't miss the opportunity to sample some delicious potato dishes in the museum's café, where you can taste the versatility of this staple food. We came as a family, and tried a variety of different fries. Everyone had their own favorite! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to share interesting facts and stories. Overall, the Idaho Potato Museum is not just informative but also entertaining, making it a must-visit for anyone traveling through the area. Whether you're a potato enthusiast or just looking for a unique experience, this museum is sure to leave you with a smile and a newfound appreciation for Idaho's favorite crop! We would recommend this place to others traveling. We spent probably about an hour here.

Museum of Clean

Specialty Museums
Modern museum showcasing exhibits on historic cleaning techniques & tools, with brooms, tubs & more.
This is one of my grand kids favorite places to visit. I have 3 grands under 10 in Montana and they really enjoy the kids area and the game area on the bottom floor. My 6 year old grandaughter who I will be bringing to Southern California at the end of June made a list of places she wants to go. The top 2 are the Museum of Clean and Popeye's fried chicken. Disney was not even mentioned.

Such a fun random place to stop! We went here with our teenagers and really enjoyed ourselves. We spent about two hours there. They have some of the earliest vacuums up through modern equivalents. They have some really interesting toilet history as well! We kept our expectations low but really had fun! They are remodeling to make it more kid friendly.

Great collection of cleaning supplies and history. There’s a gift shop and play areas for children as well. At the end of my visit they had me choose a book written by the founder for free.

Wow, this place was shockingly fun. My mom was excited to check out the "Museum of Clean", and we thought it would be a cheesy little stop. Color me surprised when we enter a massive building with a whole floor full of incredible antique cleaning machines and history. There were interactive displays showing vacuums from every era including ones that were operated with hand cranks and bellows. Old brooms, toilets, yokes for hauling buckets of water, mops, washing machines and tubs, dryers, and so much more. There was an art gallery full of art and pieces made with cleaning in mind. We spent 2.5 hours just checking everything out. And the best part? It was so kid friendly! There were tons of activities for kids including a massive ship climbing playground, a model arc, some antique coin operated rides, 2 whole separate floors of kid activities (dino dig, vet clinic, pizzeria, construction site, giant chess set, climbing walls, toddler play area, and craft/activity tables). I am impressed Pocatello; what an amazing little gem you have hidden here! We are going to make a point to visit again and look forward to seeing what else we will see next time!

Super fun and informative!! I never could have imagined the areas of cleaning they covered. The displays were amazing and there were some old vacuums that they encouraged you to try out! Very nice museum! We didn't have children with us but there is a lot to do for kids. Lots of areas for learning and participating. I imagine it is a great place for field trips, etc.

I did not have any expectations before going and was blown away by how fun this museum ended up being. I brought my 8 and 15 year old and we ended up staying for almost two hours. I really enjoyed the exhibits and the kids really enjoyed having play areas. Perfect family combo!

Lava Hot Springs Foundation World Famous Hot Springs

Mentioned on

Lava Hot Springs Foundation World Famous Hot Springs is a natural hot spring destination with various outdoor pools offering different temperature levels. Visitors can enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot springs or take a swim in the regular pools. The facility also includes a shop and provides amenities such as showers, changing rooms, and lockers for an additional fee. The well-organized pools are clearly labeled with water temperatures, catering to visitors of all ages.
Lava Hot Springs Foundation – A Sacred Balance Between Healing, Fun, and Flow Lava Hot Springs isn’t just a place — it’s an energy. And the Lava Hot Springs Foundation? They’ve done a phenomenal job of protecting, preserving, and sharing that energy with the world in a way that feels both rooted and progressive. From the moment you step into the mineral-rich pools — naturally odorless and constantly refreshed by the earth itself — you can feel the shift. It’s like the land remembers how to heal you before you even ask. The Foundation operates with no taxpayer funding — it’s entirely sustained by those who choose to soak, swim, or splash. That matters. It shows a commitment to balance: ecological, economic, and communal. You get the sense they’re not just running a business; they’re tending a fire. They’ve created something that honors the natural gifts of the land without over-commercializing them — and that’s rare these days. The facilities are incredibly well-maintained. You’ve got the classic hot pools (always clean and not too crowded if you go at the right times), but also a full-blown aquatic complex with waterslides, an Olympic pool, kiddie sections, and green park areas that invite families, elders, and solo travelers alike. It’s one of those places where everyone can find their rhythm — whether you’re there to soak in silence or cannonball into laughter. And the upgrades? Thoughtful. Strategic. They’re not just building for tourism; they’re building for legacy. Long-term projects like improved parking, enhanced accessibility, and even discussions about geothermal sustainability show that this isn’t a quick-turn operation. It’s a generational offering — for Idaho and for anyone seeking deeper connection with water, heat, and land. I respect how transparent they are too. Board meetings are open. Plans are published. It’s not hidden behind some bureaucracy. That kind of openness builds trust — and it’s exactly the kind of foundation that deserves ongoing community support. If you’ve never been, go. And if you’ve been before, go again — but this time, slow down. Let the waters speak. Let the steam remind you that healing isn’t always dramatic — sometimes it’s as simple as soaking, breathing, and remembering who you are.
Justin O — Google review
Lava Hot Springs is a wonderfully relaxing and family-friendly destination that’s perfect for unwinding. The natural hot pools range in temperature from 102°F to 112°F, offering options for everyone—from gently warm to deeply soothing. The entire facility is clean and well-maintained, with friendly staff who make the experience even better. They offer convenient amenities like showers, changing rooms, and the option to rent towels or swimsuits if you didn’t bring your own. Whether you’re stopping by for a short soak or spending a few hours here, it’s a great way to relax and enjoy the healing mineral waters. Highly recommended for both locals and travelers passing through!

Worth every minute. The town is quaint and interesting. Neat bars, restaraunts and hotels-motels. Ice cream and pizza too. Music in the park every Saturday. Tubing on river through town. Good day trip or over night two day trip.Hot spring water is HOT. Different HOT pools. Nice garden walk and snack shops. Free street parking. Limited though for trailers. But free public parks and playgrounds and off street parking. Could get crowded in-season but worth it. Would be fun in winter snow too. Cool place.

It was so much fun! We had ages 7-60 with our family and it was AMAZING! We all had fun! Clean locker rooms, and heated walkways, and the cutest hillside garden and decorations! There was different temperatures and depths of water to accommodate anyone and everything and all of the pools had a ramp if you can't walk down stairs! We will definitely go back

We had a great experience. Arrived during the week, opted to go to the hot pools. Arrived around 10/11 AM, light people traffic, plenty of space available. Towel rental available, showers and snacks from gift shop. Pool temps range from 102-112 F approximately. Staff was friendly and explained everything well. Make sure you keep your receipt if you rent a towel. Facilities clean and orderly. Purchased tickets upon arrival without issue, but experience may vary during different times of the year.

We were here in a perfect Wednesday- there were very few people. We learned they empty and clean the pools every night. The staff was friendly and the pools are glorious. The garden around the pools is amazing and there are such cute little additions.

Lava Hot Springs is a beautiful place for mineral pools. Well maintained, with multiple pools ranging from 102-112 degrees, no cool pool. A couple of hot tubs, showers, lockers and water fountains. It has shade covers, lots of greenery and flowers about the grounds, and only $7.50 to enter. Wonderful visit!

Known for its blue waters, this park with beaches is popular for boating, fishing & water sports.
Even with the winter, the lake is absolutely stunning. Worth driving past, especially after a big snow. The mountain drive into the area is beyond gorgeous. I would recommend anyone take the drive and do it at sunrise with clouds in the sky. You will not be disappointed.

My family had a blast going to this beach. The water color is incredible as it is so blue. We were shocked on how clear the water was and lack of fish and sea weed in the beach area. There are restrooms and showers on the property. Lots of people were renting water equipment, plus bring their own things. We were shocked on how cold the water was for the middle of July. Beautiful place to go!

Love Bear Lake! Water can be cold at times but overall a great place to boat, swim or just sit back and relax. My family camps at rendezvous campsites which most lead right down to the beach. We also enjoy going into town and getting raspberry shakes as it has become somewhat of a tradition. I would recommend Bear Lakes to anyone.
Jayson A — Google review
West shore very crowed, but plenty of restaurants and free rest areas for day use. East shore has four campgrounds (one closed at this time) with gorgeous sunsets. Although this side is nicer in my opinion, it is full of disrespectful people (dogs unlashed that poop with no control, groups with loud music).

We camp at Birch Campground right along the beach. It’s the most amazing lake you’ll ever experience! The water is so beautiful and blue! The sunset is incredibly amazing!
Megan T — Google review
This place is obviously beautiful, but the incredibly rude people working at the entrance ruined it for us. We paid $90 for two nights of camping. Understood that we couldn’t have an extra car, but they wouldn’t even let our extra car come in to quickly unload at our campsite. Having a strict rule about something is one thing but 1 they were out of their way rude and 2 their only reasoning is that it was “too busy.” Attached is the completely empty parking lot that they could have parked in for 5 minutes to unload. We also asked them a few other questions and the response were “uhhh I don’t know.”

Golden Spike National Historical Park

Historical place
Sights & Landmarks
Site of the completion of the transcontinental railroad, this park features working steam trains.
Way off the beaten path, but worth the drive. The rangers are great to talk with and knowledgable. The museum is very small, but it offers some good info about the railroad. Only one of the engines was out when we were there. The other one was having some work done. It was great to look at the one that was out. We spent about 2 hours here. Our youngest got her Junior Ranger Badge.

We stopped in during our Labor Day holiday and we loved it. Very well laid out museum with knowledgeable staff. We also enjoyed the train demonstration. You step back in time coming here. It was a bucket list item for me and very glad i made the time for it!
Spencer S — Google review
I loved the trains! The visitor center was very informative along with the very friendly and helpful Rangers. I would have rated the entire experience as a 5 but for the East and West audio tour. It was difficult to figure out where the West audio tour was because there wasn't a sign at the split in the road at 5 miles to tell you to take the road to the right. So I had to turn around and try to figure ot out. We were told to use the NPS app for the adio which never worked, so we just read the description for each stop along the way. The problem though was that there were nine stops and not all of the stops had a sign to know where it was! The East audio tour was easy to find bit it too had missing stops along the way and the app didn't work even though we had wifi in our suburban. If the hiccups in the audio tour could be fixed, I'd definately give the entire experience a solid 5+!

A definite 5-star experience! Golden Spike National Historical Park is truly a hidden gem that everyone, not just history enthusiasts, should seek out. Beyond its profound historical significance in commemorating the 1869 meeting of the transcontinental railroads that united the nation, the park offers a surprisingly engaging and interactive visit. My top tip for anyone planning a trip is to time your arrival to catch the scheduled movements of the full-size replica steam engines. Witnessing these magnificent machines chug down the track, letting out impressive bursts of steam, is a captivating spectacle for all ages, bringing history vividly to life. You can also drive or walk portions of the original railroad grade, explore exhibits, and even participate in the Junior Ranger program, making it a fantastic and unique outing for families and curious minds alike.

Literally In the middle of nowhere Utah. I believe near Promontory?! A nice suprise for history buffs. Can't imagine anyone willing to work,to want to change the landscape layting down thousands of miles of track. With little to no resources. Informative recreation. Hands on education for kids inside museum.

Gem of a National Historic Park. Site where the Transcontinental Railroad joined together in 1869. From spring to October the replica steam engines run but you can visit the actual spot any time. Check the website for trains and visitor center schedule. It’s about 30 miles from the highway and nearest town. There are two auto tours and a hiking trail.

We planned a RV rally for a year ~ titled it RAILS and TRAILS. Newmar Kountry Club members from several states came to the area to visit the National Historic Site. The day prior to our group of nearly 40 were scheduled to visit the park was the day of the government shut down. The Rangers left Information and we decided to visit the location even though the trains would not be available. We arrived at the GSNHP at a perfect time. Marty Soholt, school bus driver and former RR worker, was talking to a group of students who had also had a field trip planned for this day. His energy and excitement was perfect. Many people from our group were able to hear the history he shared with the students. I thought I had learned a lot about Golden Spike in my previous visits, but Marty shared facts I had never heard. And in an entertaining and enthusiastic fashion. Marty is to be commended !!! He saved the day!!!
Belinda R — Google review
It’s off the beaten path but is an interesting place for a history buff. The golden spike is not there but there is a placard in its spot. The trains have steam coming from their stacks and there is a short movie you can watch in the visitor center. The history boards inside and outside the visitor center are very interesting. We spent approximately an hour there and we did not travel the 7 mile loop. There is plenty of parking. You can use your America the Beautiful Card here (National Park Pass). If you don’t have one, I recommend you get one, if you plan on visiting some of our National parks. It’s $80 for 1 year and they also offer discounts for seniors.

Displeased USU Visitor My recent experience with USU (assuming you are referring to a university or institution with that acronym) left me feeling incredibly frustrated and dissatisfied. One of the most significant issues that marred my experience was the rampant over-ticketing problem. Over-ticketing at USU has become a serious concern, and it has undoubtedly soured my perception of the institution. It seems as though the primary focus has shifted away from providing a conducive learning environment and towards extracting revenue from its students and visitors through excessive ticketing. The frequency with which I witnessed students and visitors receiving unwarranted tickets was alarming. Whether it was for minor parking infractions, perceived rule violations, or even issues that should have been handled through communication and warnings, it appeared that the institution was more interested in punishing individuals than in fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere. Furthermore, the fines associated with these tickets often felt disproportionately high, placing an undue financial burden on students and visitors who are already struggling with the cost of education and daily living expenses. It's disheartening to see an institution prioritize revenue generation over the well-being and financial stability of its constituents. The over-ticketing issue not only creates a hostile atmosphere but also undermines the trust and respect that students and visitors should have for their educational institution. It fosters an environment where individuals are constantly on edge, fearing that even the slightest misstep will result in another unwarranted ticket. In conclusion, my experience with USU has been marred by the issue of over-ticketing, which has led me to question the institution's priorities and commitment to the well-being of its students and visitors. It is my hope that USU will reevaluate its approach to disciplinary measures and consider more reasonable and fair ways to address rule violations without resorting to excessive ticketing.

It is a peaceful and beautiful place to visit — perfect for bird lovers and anyone who enjoys nature. The variety of birds you can spot here is incredible. We saw pelicans, herons, ducks, and so many others, all in their natural wetland habitat. The auto tour route is an easy and relaxing drive with stunning views throughout. This is one of the best visitor centers I've ever been to. The interactive exhibits, taxidermy, and movie theater are all top notch. The bird call exhibit is a favorite because you can memorize the calls before taking the 3km walk around the refuge. The walk itself is very accessible, paved and mowed so you can comfortably walk without worrying about ticks from the tall grasses. Oh, and the gift shop and indoor toilets are amazing. This was such a great place to visit! We ran out of time and will definitely be back. The auto tour is open from sunrise to sunset. The visitor center is open from 8-4. In the visitor center, my kids were able to play bingo in the exhibit hall and were rewarded with a butterfly sticker. There was so much fun stuff to view in the exhibit hall. There is a theater that we did not have time to view. We were also able to check out adventure backpacks for the kids that contained different magnification viewers for bugs, 2 different kinds of nets, kids' binoculars, field identification guides, etc. Each child received their own booklet to complete, and after completing a number of activities, they were able to get a junior ranger badge. We spent almost an hour on the trail just watching the bugs and birds and trying to catch bugs to view and then release. They had so much fun! We will definitely be back!

Beautiful free park where you can bird watch. Leaving the highway, it feels crazy to think a whole refuge is right next to it. The visitor center is at the entrance of the park. The recommended path is a ungraveled road of about 1h30 (highly depends on how you want to do it). You drive on the loop and can see plenty of things. Birds are EVERYWHERE. Note: The month of may has a lot of insects (mosquitoes…) so be prepared if you want to get out of the car. Great free activity that entertains everhone.

Visitor center was closed the day we were there due to the federal shutdown, but we enjoyed the auto tour. Probably more migrating birds in Sept. than Oct.

Amazing. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Watch the 20-minute presentation at the learning center, then take the self-driving tour around the sanctuary. Everything will make more sense.

Beautiful property with an array of birds and some mammals. The auto tour loop is cool, but finding the entrance was a little challenging at first. The yellow-headed black birds and white pelicans were my favorite by far. Good location for birding!
Stefanie R — Google review
The area around the visitor center is great. Trails run through wetlands and there is even a photo blind. But the biggest downside are their trails. They are open sunrise to sunset. So far so good, but you can't use any of the loop trails if the visitor center is closed. You need to track back to the first crossing and go back to the parking lot that way. All the trails run literally through the visitor center but the visitor center currently closes at 4pm and is not even open every day. This could have been handled better, the architect of these trails probably never used a trail in their life.

History museum
The Hill Aerospace Museum is a free attraction that showcases various planes, missiles, and aerospace gear while educating visitors on the history of the Air Force. It offers clean facilities, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and a gift shop. Although visiting hours are limited until 4:00 pm, it's an excellent place to take boys and learn from veterans who work there. The museum requires masks for visitors' safety but provides an enjoyable experience overall.
It was so fun!!! I hadn’t been there in years and the rest of my family had never been there. Loved the exhibits! So crazy to be that close to those incredible machines. Loved talking to the volunteers. They are better than reading at each spot. It was just awesome to be there!! Everything about it was fantastic!

My son loves Jets! This was an amazing experience, we were able to learn about the jets, soldiers sand war at that time. They had a new wing of jets. They have it where you can go in a transportation plane to see the cock pit and the transportation area. It was a well worth experience. All if the jets and planes are well maintained

What a cool place!!! If you love planes, specifically military planes, you have to check it out. 1) it’s FREE! 2) it’s perfect for yourself, a date, or the whole family. 3) it’s a awesome checking out all the planes and the history! We went on a Saturday and while it was busy, it wasn’t crowded. Great activity to do in the area!

Fantastic museum with an impressive collection of aircraft and artifacts. The volunteer staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and make the visit engaging for kids and adults alike. Free admission and parking make it an absolute must-visit if you’re in the area.

This is a must for plane, Air Force, & cool thing connoisseurs! I was impressed with all of the stuff they have and ways of showing it. They have 3 huge exhibits jammed pack with cool planes, helicopters, & history. Not too toot their horn but you can see a real Air Force 1 that has some cool history linked to it

We arrived before opening time and glad we did. Parking lot was full when we came out 2 hrs later. The museum is very clean and a great layout. There is plenty of space for any additional planes that may be donated. I liked that there was a good representation of different planes from different time span - majority of these planes are from the Air Force. Some of the larger planes are located outside. Nice little gift shop for those who'd like Military stuff. Would definitely come back again and a great place for kids. What a fun day it would be for them. Free to get in but donations are welcomed.

Really enjoyed this aerospace museum. They have a huge assortment of planes from all eras from the beginning of manned flight to the F-22 raptor. They even have a few helicopters on display. There is lots of history available for each plane. Highlights for me were seeing very early airframes, an SR 72 including an engine, F-22 raptor, F-14, and an A-10 warthog. They even have a couple of MIG fighters on display. Museum is free and access is very easy. You just park and walk in. If you like military planes you will enjoy this museum.

Snowbasin Resort, located in Huntsville, Utah, has been a popular destination since 1936 and was even a site for the 2002 Winter Olympics. The resort offers classic ski activities and hosts year-round events. Visitors can take Olympic-themed gondola rides to the top of the mountain for breathtaking views and access to Needles Lodge where they can enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and dining. The resort features ski slopes suitable for all levels with trained instructors available.
Really nice mountain! Great terrain, easy Parking. Challenging terrain at whatever your level of challenge is... You'll find it here. Take a ride on the Olympic tram, and if you get tentative, you can ride the tram down, no pressure to make the run on snow :)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Snowbasin Ski Resort is an all-season paradise! In the winter, the skiing here is top-tier—groomed runs, challenging steeps, and absolutely stunning views. The lift system is fast and efficient, and there’s terrain for every skill level. Easily one of my favorite places to ski in Utah. Come summer, the resort really shines in a different way. The hiking trails are gorgeous, with wildflowers, epic ridgelines, and scenic overlooks. If you love mountain biking, Snowbasin has some of the best trails in the area—fun, flowy, and great for all levels. Don’t miss the free summer concerts—incredible live music set against a beautiful mountain backdrop. Bring a blanket, grab a drink, and enjoy the vibe! And if you’re looking for a unique dining experience, take the gondola up and eat at the top of the mountain. The food is amazing, and the views are unforgettable. Whether you’re here for snow, sun, or just the scenery, Snowbasin delivers. Can’t recommend it enough!

We took the gondola up to the Needles Lodge for Sunday brunch. At first glance, it seemed pricey but for what the ticket includes it is worth it. A ride up and down the mountain, the brunch, and access to the concert. Employees are helpful and friendly

I recently shot a wedding at Snowbasin and it was amazing! The views from the top really wowed everyone, especially the out of town guests. The bathrooms are extremely nice and photogenic, haha, but the whole place is just incredible. The staff there is amazing as well! It's a huge space and I love that it has indoor and outdoor options. Everyone had a great time!

What a beautiful Dog friendly resort! We loved taking our dog, Osiris up to listen to the blues, eat great food, have the perfect frozen adult beverage and enjoy gorgeous scenery. They are thoughtful with stainless steel water bins for the dogs placed everywhere. We will definitely be coming back to take Osiris on the Gondola.

Had an amazing time here! Beautiful resort. Except I did have a little trouble with the ski school administrators. I purchased a package for lessons & lift tickets for my kids but they didn’t give them the lift tickets at the school & no one told me I had to pick them up separately . So when they went to ride the chair lift with their instructor, they wouldn’t let them on. I had to run back to where lift tickets are purchased. I just wish someone told me sooner instead of the end of the day. They only got to ride the chair lift once because of the time wasted.
Helene D — Google review
Amazing ski resort. I love how long the runs are and how fast the lifts go as well. You really feel like you can ski so much longer. There’s so much mountain to cover you can happily spend all day exploring and find something for your brand of fun. Certain areas definitely get crowded, especially on weekends, but after the waves of arrivals people tend to spread out and the lines and runs become much less congested.

Snowbasin has so much more to offer than just winter activities! We have fun at there during the summer and early fall too! Hiking, Blues and Brews and Octoberfest! I do recommend that if you don't have a pass, to purchase your tickets ahead of time. It makes the entry process much faster! Everything is definitely a little overpriced. However that goes for pretty much everything these days.

Antelope Island, the largest island in the Great Salt Lake, is a nature lover's paradise. The state park offers hiking trails and opportunities to observe wildlife such as bison, mule deer, antelope, and bighorn sheep. Visitors can also witness the thrilling roundup of the 600-strong American bison herd in late October for veterinary examination. The island is a haven for migratory birds feasting on brine shrimp along the lake's shore during fall and spring migrations.
Antelope Island is one of my favorite places to go in Utah. It is peaceful, quiet, and fun to explore. The beach areas are full of interesting rock formations. The natural beauty of Antelope Island is stunning, especially at sunset.

Antelope Island is a beautiful and peaceful place. The Bison are such amazing creatures that shouldn't be taken lightly while on the island. Expect to spend a few hours there while walking around, exploring some of the sights.

I recently went camping and hiking at Antelope Island, and it was such a peaceful experience! 🌅 If you love nature and hiking videos, check out my YouTube channel @IamOnePOV — I uploaded my full Lakeside Loop Trail adventure there. The views are breathtaking, the lake looks unreal during sunset, and nighttime is perfect for stargazing. There aren’t many big trees, so I’d suggest booking a site with some shade if you visit in summer. Highly recommend spending a weekend here — it’s one of Utah’s hidden gems! 🌄

Very unique park! After driving the causeway, we were immediately greeted by several bison and a herd of antelope! We visited mid September, on a Friday and it was not busy. The temporary visitor center is in a small building at the marina while their main visitor center is undergoing renovations. We camped in Bridger Bay campground (no water currently due to VC renovations), and our camping fee ($20 + $8 fee) covered our causeway toll.

Can see the Buffalo was amazing they are a really big animal , you probably think that they are quiet and patient but they can be really angry with human so be careful, amazing place for take pictures and go with the family (:

I enjoyed my day on Antelope Island. I was there as the tide came in on the east side, when exiting, so I could better see the marsh areas. The fee is high, $15. Due to construction there is no water and they let you know that before you enter and it is on the state park website. There are vault houses (pit toilets) all over the island. I spent a few hours at Fielding Garr Ranch, drove around and hiked to different parts of the island. The locals aren't kidding, those brine flies are pesky! By late afternoon, they were out and annoying. They are vital to the ecosystem, just be prepared. I had no idea how large Salt Lake is! It is so flat you can see the evaporation cycle occurring. I've great photographs of it on the north side, with afternoon sun hitting it, even slight rainbow colors. I learned a lot about the fresh water on the island, too. I saw hundreds of BISON and a deer grazing in the field.

I got to bring a photography group here from one of our Junior highs and they had the best experience ever it was really beautiful to visit and enjoy the history.

Huge difference between the summer and the cooler months. Plan out the trip as the. colder months probably till June, certain roads are closed. But it also means no flies and other pesky insects. The cooler temps means it'll be easier to do certain trails as you won't sweat as much from the radiant heat. There are 2 that were taken in the cooler months (March) and the rest in June.

Lagoon Amusement Park is a seasonal theme park and water park located in Davis County, Utah. It offers a wide range of thrill rides, live shows, and even features a pioneer village and camping facilities. The park is situated just north of downtown Salt Lake City amidst diverse ecosystems such as marshlands, mountains, beaches, and saltwater lakes. Visitors can explore the various trails in the area making it an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
Always enjoyable. They are often adding new rides and Changing things for the better We go at least once a year. They have a nice variety. From really extreme rides for adults and teens to easy yet very fun rides for even tiny toddlers and everything in between. They've got something for every age and size!
Sterling A — Google review
This year they've remodeled and added some nice features. They've upgraded benches (such as by Terror Ride) and repaved some areas of the park which is nice. Generally speaking, accessibility is an afterthought. Some paths can be narrow and crowded. Handicap parking is fairly limited considering the size of the parking lot. Ride seats are not inclusive of various-sized bodies. Primordial just opened last year and the queue is already breaking down - the projector show wasn't functioning when we went through. Food is typical to what you'd find at a carnival. They have lots of slushy, ice cream, and dessert options, so plan your budget for some treats at least. I saw some signs that they finally sell coffee in the park but I didn't have an opportunity to taste it. We went in July when they were selling tickets online for $70 including fees. The tickets this year are twice the price when they're not on sale, which is way too expensive. If they want to charge Disney prices they need to rise to the same level of inclusiveness. We had fun on our visit but if we had paid the normal price it would not have been worth the price.
Hilary W — Google review
Great assortment of rare, one of a kind, and married rides, family/kid rides and coasters. Staff works well to get you secured and going on the ride with deployment times and turnover which is fantastic. Wait times are pretty good all things considered. My only gripe is the price of tickets are a bit much compared to comparable parks.

I took my girls to Frightmares a few weeks ago. Friday was a great day to enjoy the park as the lines weren't too long. The food is amazing and so filling. I definitely recommend the burgers. The staff are friendly and helpful. The park is well maintained and seemed pretty clean. We were able to see a Joey in it's mom's pouch. And peacocks roaming free through the park. Iwould definitely take my family here again. Next time I'll be taking the kids when it's bounce back so that we can do the rides one day and the water park the next.

Lagoon Amusement Park is a great little mom and pop business located just north of Salt Lake City. This place reminded me of Knoebels Amusement Park in central Pennsylvania as both places have a similar type of vibe. The roller-coasters here are very solid, with Cannibal and Wicked being the highlights. We also liked riding Roller Coaster as well since that ride is over 100 years old now!

We love Lagoon so much. Its so fun to take the whole family. The only downside is the cost. It is very expensive. We have had a great experience with the new RAP pass. (Disability ride access) We appreciate having wait times that correspond with the stand-by wakt time. In previous years, you could just go to the exit and basically skip the line. That wasn't fair to others. This way, pass users get a return time. It is very helpful if someone in your party needs to sit down more often, or if they take a bit of extra time to load. The employees handle the pass with kindness amd respect. We have had to deal with the Safety and Security staff this year. They are excellent to work with. They made our minor emergency much smoother. I will say too that I hope they are able to safely rehome all the animals in the "zoo" space. I would really hate to see animals there next year.
Erin K — Google review
It was super fun. I had never been on a roller coaster before so I was pretty scared but it ended up being super fun. The Halloween decorations were fun too and although there was a wait for some rides it wasn't too bad for most. If you want to get thrown into the deep end of rollercoasters it's best to go straight to Cannibal (that's what my friends made me do) and by the end of the day I was loving it and we rode it 3 times in a row. Also this has nothing to do with the park but if you go and there are lots of kids around just start saying "6 7" and the kids will all say it back which is pretty funny.
Xavier R — Google review
We love Lagoon and have been coming since I was a kid. My only complaint this year is that line cutting is SO common when the park is busy, because the lines trail out into main areas and people use this to cheat the system. No one enforces line cutting so people get away with it and that sucks. Hoping the park finds a way to address this. But otherwise, we are happy patrons! Incredible rides, lots of rides and things to do for every comfort level, decent food, clean bathrooms, great nighttime vibes with the lighting. Lots of history here and it shows. They make an effort to include a lot of plants, flowers, large trees, murals, colors, etc.
