This is an amazing ball park. Well thought out. We were here for a 10u baseball tournament, and the kids loved playing on the artificial turf. It's a little pricey for t-shirts and sweatshirts, so bring extra cash. We all had a great time. Not a bad seat in the house.
Randy B — Google review
Very rundown, and they're charging spectators $10 each to get in. This is in spite of the $1000s in fees the teams pay to use the facilities. There is a single stall bathroom at the main building which is situated at the center of four of the fields. Other bathrooms are a distance away, half way to the two back fields. Some of the fields only have dirt/grass terraces you can sit on. Others have sagging, rotten (with big holes) wooden bleachers. Last year the pitcher's mound kept coming apart so they tried to duct tape it down. You have to go where organizers can get space, but I wouldn't choose this place on purpose. I have pics, but I do not see a way to attach them here. Also, poor cell coverage and wifi is locked down so it's hard to do game changer. First day of a four day tournament and they're out of pretzels. Another parent mentioned being there for a different game where they ran out of water. Not well managed or maintained. *Pictures show dirt 'terraces' instead of bleachers, rotten bleachers, single stall restroom, view from outside the central building to red roofed building in the far distance where there is more than one bathroom. I didn't get pictures of the overflowing trash cans.
Helen B — Google review
$45 a adult and $20 for kids 6+, facilities are lacking. Absolutely the highest entry fee I’ve seen. I kid you not there is literally zero cell service, you won’t be able to use your phone the entire time you are there. Anyone that’s trying to watch on gamechanger won’t be able to because of this. Easily the worst baseball complex I’ve been to and my son has been playing travel ball for 8 years.
Adam — Google review
The complex charges $45 for a weekend pass per person, insane considering what families pay in tournament fees and to travel/stay. Also, the other set of fields closer to the Dells charges $10 less for a weekend pass, but of course they don’t tell you that when you’re paying in Mauston. There is absolutely no WiFi so no one was able to view Gamechanger, text, or use navigation when leaving .
Carli B — Google review
Its sad that this place has such great fields but absolute garbage management. The umps weren't able to count pitches correctly nor pay attention to what was happening on the field. Director did nothing when asked to assist. Had ump give coach warning for FACIAL expressions. This is our second year and we WILL NOT BE BACK. Would not recommend to anyone!! Absolutely disgusting treatment of our coaches and kids.
Christina S — Google review
Worst baseball complex i have ever been to. We actually had an one eyed umpire for our championship game. The food was garbage left under a warmer for hours. No over head net 3 people where hit by foul balls that i saw. The field had duct tape holding repairs together. It's in the middle of nowhere & cell reception is spotty at best.
Chris H — Google review
Place is a money pit, pay money to play, pay to stay, pay to enter to watch your kid, no carry ins, expensive food stand and bar, surprised they dont make you pay to park. Tournament rules are really dumb for u9. And no scoreboard operator. Do not play a tourney here
No E — Google review
The treatment of our coaches and boys was horrible. Nothing short of disgusting. When trying to speak to the director about the issues in real time he was dismissive. This is our second year attending and the previous year was a different situation but same result. We will never return.

Devil's Lake State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
Campground
Devil's Lake State Park is a vast recreational area that features a 360-acre lake, sandy beaches, campgrounds, and food stands. Visitors can enjoy scenic hikes around the lake on rocky paths or climb up for breathtaking views of the stunning blue-green waters. The park is also pet-friendly but requires dogs to be leashed at all times. In addition to outdoor activities, visitors can challenge their minds with riddle-solving in escape rooms located nearby.
What a view? The view from the top of the cliff was absolutely stunning. There is a Trail that takes you all the way to the top where you can see the entire lake. When you enter the park, the admission fee is $16. You can enter and exit the park as long as you have the ticket on the dashboard. You can enjoy the lake using the paddleboard, canoes or kayaks. There is a fee for that and I believe it’s $38 for a ride. There is a visitor center and a nice big store where you can buy merchandise. Best times to go is June and July because the weather is nice and warm. Besides enjoying the lake, you can explore the trails take nature walks or simply sit and read a book by the lake. When I went there a few days back I was surprised to see how clean the area was, and the breathtaking views of the Devil lake. So if you haven’t visited this place yet, I feel you should put this as your bucket list and make sure to visit this place as soon as you get a chance! 😃

Devil's lake state park has something for everyone. The incredible and rocky skyline is perfect for those looking to challenge the peaks with either hiking or climbing. The placid waters of the lake are wonderful for swimming or kayaking. The deep and tranquil forests are wonderful for peaceful walks and adventurous treks. When not being active the park also hosts some great spots for camping, with a variety of both wooded and open sites. The park is additionally quite well maintained. Roads and trails are generally in good condition. The bathrooms are a bit more hit and miss, with some being quite clean and moderns, while others lag a bit behind. The distinction is easy to spot from the road for what that's worth. All in all, a great nature area for adventures of all kinds and memories waiting to be made.

Dangerous... but fun? 😂 This hike is not for the feint of heart. We decided to do the climb the hard way which consists of essentially climbing the side of a mountain that does not contain any sort of railings or protective measures. We saw multiple slip and almost lose footing...ourselves included. Many people with children of all ages including infants. The hike is quite strenuous depending on how you go about it. Bring drinks, snacks, and hope. 😂 There aren't any staff on the mountain whatsoever so you do need to have an honest conversation with yourself beforehand about whether or not you want to risk it for the biscuit or not. One hiker almost fell off the side of the cliff while we were hiking and was thankfully caught by nearby trees and then brought to safety. I know this review is all over the place but this is honestly what happened lol. The park overall is beautiful and a stunning presentation of nature... you just need to be prepared and wear GOOD hiking shoes. Cost for a pass is not expensive either. We would probably do it again, we just wouldn't choose the side mountain climb and would most likely go the long way up which is much safer.

11/03/25: The spectacular views at this park are incomparable. I hiked the East Bluff side of the park. I did part of the Ice Age Trail by hiking part of East Bluff Woods, East Bluff Trail, The Balanced Rock Trail down to the Lake, Part of the Grottos Trail and the Potholes Trail back up. I was going to hike more around the actual lake but the winds were gale force today. This park has easy trails, moderate trails and super difficult slippery trails. The hardest trail is the Balanced Rock Trail. I am an experienced hiker who had on trail runners and was using hiking poles and I slipped a few times and fell once. The potholes trail is a bit easier but not by much. I would not recommend attempting these trails in any type of weather. The rock steps are slippery when dry, down right dangerous when wet. The trails and out buildings are well maintained. I would recommend this park to both seasoned and new hikers. I would just recommend researching your trails before planning your trip.
Cindy P — Google review
We were only going to come for the morning but wound up spending the whole day. It was windy but when you were on the forest trail it was fine. The more adventurous in our group went up the east bluff trail, going up was easier then the trail down. We ate lunch at the onsite restaurant but wished we would have packed a picnic lunch like others had. We spent the afternoon by the lake and exploring the beach.
J H — Google review
I was not able to spend much time there. I drove around the lake and I found out later that there are different areas off of different roads that you can get into different parts of the lake. So that park system is quite extensive. There is definitely some amazing hiking there. And at this time of the year, there were still a lot of hikers out there. The lake is beautiful.
Chauncey S — Google review
Wow! I’m so thankful my wife’s coworker in Phoenix invited us out on his cabin cruiser for a day on the lake. It’s one of those places I probably never would’ve seen otherwise — absolutely stunning! The drive through the mountains was incredible, and then suddenly this huge, beautiful lake appeared. And the wild donkeys roaming the hills? Just amazing!
Tracy S — Google review
Beautiful place! Get to the parking lot by 9 am on a Sunday! And hope you don't need the bathroom until after the cleaning through is done. Blah! The gift shop/concessions open at 10 am. Both beaches became packed very quickly. The hikes are amazing but don't underestimate the climb or over estimate yourself. You don't need to be a pro, but hiking shoes, walking stick and lots of water is highly recommended! I didn't camp, just visited for the day.

Water & Amusement Parks
Noah's Ark Waterpark is a sprawling 70-acre family-friendly destination in Wisconsin Dells, known as America's largest waterpark. With over 51 water slides, the park offers a wide range of attractions suitable for all ages. From thrilling tube slides like The Plunge and Monkey Rapids to leisurely options such as lazy rivers and wave pools, there's something for everyone. Special areas are designated for kids, ensuring they have a safe and enjoyable experience.
Loved the park and the whole experience. It was a hot day and wait time was not bad, but that was a Tuesday so don’t mind it if it’s just during the weekend. Plenty of rides, lots of food to pick from(general burgers, tenders, fries, etc..) But your tickets online, with the package that includes food and drink from Johnny rocket or MIA pizza. Wait time was less than 25 minutes and it was not bad.

We went there in August. The weather was a bit cloudy and the temperature was around 78°F. We bought our tickets online, so there wasn't any waiting line to get in! Wow, the park was so beautiful and the weather was just perfect for enjoying after using our devices – it was amazing! Then, suddenly the sky went dark and it started raining, so the park had to shut down the devices activity and ask everyone to head to the shelters. We were in the shelter for about an hour, and it was really pouring rain. After that, it stopped, and the park started getting lively again. We played for about an hour before the sky got dark and it rained again, which stopped everything. We decided to leave the park, and when we were leaving, they gave us another ticket because it was raining today. The customer service was great! The rain really did waste our time. We drove for about two hours to get there, spent the whole day just playing, but ended up wasting time waiting in the shelter and then having to leave early. However, on the other hand, the rain made the park much less crowded, and the lines were significantly shorter than they usually are on a weekend in the summer. So, we weren't that sad about facing the bad weather.

The best time in Wisconsin Dells area !! America 's largest water park !!! We had loads of fun and convenience around the park. The best slides are : Black Anaconda ranks first. Time Warp goes for 2nd. The wave beach is one of my favorites as well. It's a water park duh?!!! You are wet all the way through. Leave your towels in a spot because you won't need it. Even if the Sun is out, you will never be dry. Walk all around the park and one day is not enough to enjoy. Go in at 10 so less people are coming in and enjoy the best time until closing at 7pm. Worth it all the way. Make sure to buy online for convenience and savings. I love this park, we'll be back next year !!!

I've been going to Noah's Ark Waterpark for the past 30 years, and it still delivers some of the best water slides in America. Other parks in the Dells just don’t compare—the rides here are more complex, thrilling, and fun. We went again today, and it was just as exciting as ever. Lines were shorter than usual, and the price was very reasonable. They’re currently running a great deal on season passes—I got one for the price of a single visit, which was an absolute steal. The park is clean, well-maintained, and continues to raise the bar when it comes to water rides. If you’re visiting Wisconsin Dells, Noah’s Ark is hands down the best water park to choose for a top-tier ride experience.
Sean H — Google review
Great waterpark overall! We had a fun time and were pretty happy with how the day went. The only real downside was the long lines for the bigger slides - some were 30 to 45-90minutes, which made it tough to try everything. But I guess that’s just part of the deal during peak season. We paid for priority parking and it was worth it, it’s super close to the entrance and only $5 more than regular. We got there about 30 minutes before opening and were first in line, which I’d definitely do again. We packed light, just towels, dry clothes, and water bottles and everything fit into the smallest locker. Saved a bit of money that way too. Our hotel (La Quinta) gave us a park ticket deal: $20 per person for the whole stay, which was way better than Groupon ($104 for 3 people for a day) or the park’s own price ($124 for 3 for one day). Food inside the park was actually decent and fresh. Expect to pay around $15–20 per meal. The wave pool was a highlight - perfect water temp, tons of space, and really strong waves. Super fun and a great spot to hang out and cool off.

Had amazing time here it did rain for the beginning of the day, but we still enjoyed all the rides. Some of the rides are a little scary but if you’re a thrill seeker, you’ll love it. I guess I’m just a baby ha ha ha. Great fun for the whole family.
Vanessa Z — Google review
Fun outdoor waterpark! A little bit for every age. My kids are 9, 8 and 6 and they had a great time. The park could use some updating, but it was a bit nostalgic so I didn't mind. We bought discounted tickets online and tailgated in the parking lot mid-way through the day to keep costs down. We went on a weekday, so the park wasn't crazy busy and we prefer that. Overall a fun time had by the entire family!
Alexandria I — Google review
I really wanted to go to Noah’s Ark. I am from Colorado and used to Water World. I thought it was the largest water park in the world. When I found out Noah’s Ark was larger, I had to try it out. I like the park but it’s not my favorite. I would go back if my kids really wanted to go or if I was invited for something. I probably won’t go back on my own. They do have some cool rides. The Raja King Cobra was my favorite. We tried to get on the Black Mamba but after being only 4 couples away from our ride, the rain came down and the park shut down. Disappointing but definitely not the park’s fault by any means. Cool experience and highly recommend giving it a shot. If you stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Lake Delton, you can get tickets from them for $25 each when you stay with them. The tickets are good for your entire stay too. We stayed there but didn’t realize that until after we went to the park.

The Rick Wilcox Magic Theater, located in Wisconsin Dells, is a 550-seat theater opened by master illusionists Rick and Suzan Wilcox in 1999. The 90-minute show features a blend of magic, comedy, and quick wit that keeps the audience entertained and amazed. After the show, guests have the opportunity to meet the gracious hosts for autographs and photos. This unique entertainment experience is constantly updated with new tricks and techniques to ensure an unforgettable evening of grand illusions.
This was my first visit to the Rick Wilcox Magic Theater and it certainly was not a disappointment. Rick & his wife have such a connection with the audience and his magic tricks are unbelievable. He had audience members join him on stage, including children. I loved seeing the awe and excitement in kids who were just blown away with being part of the magic happening right in front of them. At the end Rick and Susan engaged even further with the audience inviting them to ask questions. It's just a brilliant family show that lasted about 90 minutes. Absolutely loved it.

This magic show was worth every penny! I've seen several magic shows but this one has been the best by far! Highly recommended for your visit to Wisconsin dells! We went Friday night and were in the 4th row. Great show, very entertaining and fun!

My wife and I were having a weekend trip for our anniversary and decided to buy tickets for the show. We had never been to a live magic show before, and we loved it! The show was funny and entertaining, and the magic was incredible to see live. The illusions were VERY impressive. The show is great for both families and adults with no children. We are already planning to come back next year with friends!

Absolutely phenomenal experience at the Rick Wilcox Magic Show! 🎩✨ From jaw-dropping card tricks to mind-blowing levitation, every moment was pure magic. Rick and Susan Wilcox are not just incredible performers, but their love and affection for each other shine through, making the show even more heartwarming. 💖 Their chemistry is as magical as the tricks they perform! Having been in business since 1991, this show is truly a hidden gem right here in central Wisconsin. I was absolutely blown away by the variety, the energy, and the sheer talent on display. I can’t recommend it enough! If you haven’t been, you’re missing out. ⭐️✨🔥 But it’s more than just a show — Rick and Susan are in the business of genuinely making people happy, bringing light to this world with smiles, and reminding us of the magic we can feel in our everyday lives. 🌟😊✨

This show was AMAZING!!! The magic performances where flawless!! We loved it so much that if they had another show right after the one we just watched we would have bought new tickets and watched it again! Worth every single penny! I cannot recommend this show enough! Buy tickets online and it will save you alittle time.

I've never been to the show before. Growing up it was always something I wanted to do. Now that I'm 40 with a wife and kid (4) we decided to do it. It's a great show! I highly recommend for all ages. It keeps your attention the entire time and Rick is great with the audience, kids and adults. The interaction with the audience is done perfectly. If there's anything you do in the dells make sure going to this show is one of the things to do.

This is a must see. Best activity in the Dells. Very professional, fun and interactive. Down to earth good people who love there craft.

We had a great time at the Rick Wilcox Magic Show today 11-29-24, the day after Thanksgiving! My parents would bring me and my brothers to Rick and Susan’s show when I was a kid (a highlight of our summer vacations in the Dells). Now I’m bringing my own kids (along with grandma and papa still) to experience the wonder. We all had an absolute blast and were on the edge of our seats the entire time! So grateful you guys are still performing in the Dells 25 years later! The tricks and illusions were front and center as Rick and Susan skillfully moved from each set to the next. They’ve really stayed true to their craft, and there’s nothing like live, interactive magic especially when it’s done with such precision, theatricality, and timing—pure art! We enjoyed the Q&A immediately following the performance too which really humanized the show even further. Rick spent time chatting with guests and taking pictures afterwards too in true Midwestern “down to earth” form, salt of the earth. Thank you so much, Rick and Susan for a great show today and for the legacy you’ve continued!

Water & Amusement Parks
Mt. Olympus - Water & Theme Park Resort is the world's largest water resort, featuring 37 waterslides, 3 lazy rivers, and 2 massive wave pools. The theme park is designed around Ancient Greece and Greek mythology, offering roller coasters, outdoor water slides, and go-karts that pass through underwater tunnels. With a variety of accommodations including budget-friendly hotel rooms and a Camp Resort with cabins and tent sites, this resort provides an adventurous experience for all ages.
Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park is a fantastic destination for families looking for a mix of excitement and relaxation. We visited during the summer and had an amazing time exploring both the indoor and outdoor water parks. The outdoor water slides were thrilling, and the wave pool was a big hit with the kids. The indoor park is a great backup in case of rain, and the lazy river was perfect for unwinding. The park is massive, so be prepared to do a lot of walking. The roller coasters and go-karts in the theme park section added even more adventure to our day. We also appreciated the free admission included with our hotel stay—it made everything feel more convenient and budget-friendly. The only downsides were that it got very crowded during peak hours, and food lines were long. It’s best to arrive early and plan breaks to avoid the rush. Also, the hotel rooms could use some updates, but overall, they were clean and comfortable. Mt. Olympus is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the Wisconsin Dells area. Great fun for all ages—we’ll be coming back again next summer!

We have been coming to Mt. Olympus for many years now since my kids were babies and liked the smaller water slides and rides and now they love the bigger water slides and roller coasters. There is always so much to do and they are always adding new things so it is fun to come back year after year. This year my 12 year old requested to go for her birthday and we tried the birthday package and she loved it! The employees are all wonderful. We all had a great time even at the end of August we still were able to go on all the water slides and roller coasters and the lines were not long at all. Thank you as always Mt. Olympus. 🏊🏼‍♀️🎢🎂♥️

A week ago, I visited the park. It was a family trip planned two months in advance. We reserved a hotel room in advance with direct park admission. Everything was great, except that upon arrival and check-in, we had to wait around five hours for our room to be ready since check-in time was 4:00 p.m., and we arrived at 11:00 a.m. It's worth mentioning that we traveled from Arkansas. The housekeepers kindly let us use another room to change and one of my sisters forgot her bag, yes it was our mistake but we were so excited and traveling with children is not an easy task. To make this short, it only took us 15 minutes or less to realize the forgotten bag, we returned to the room and it was gone, we asked the guys and they didn't see anything, the hotel staff and manager didn't show any interest. The bag only had $300 in cash and we said that didn't matter, we were only interested in the IDs and cards. I think they should have a plan to assist customers with these types of problems, since there are no cameras in the hallways or at the hotel entrance. Still we tried to enjoy the park for the kids, because they were excited.

Stayed Saturday through Tuesday. Water park was ok, everything closed at 7 besides the outdoor theme park. Older acquired hotel is definitely not kept up. There are outdoor BBQ areas. The room itself (which we paid dearly for) was the best part. It was very nice but walls were very very thin. They do have someone driving through the lot every now and then. Carpets throughout the halls are very dirty and the elevator was extremely dirty.
Taneya K — Google review
This place was great! I took my two sons here 9 and 11 and both were able to do all the rides and enjoyed the entire time. We booked in advance so the room and park rate was very affordable. Food at the park is expensive but that's to be expected. Wait times for most things were not bad the majority of the time. The only complaints I have is I wish there were more drinking fountains in the park, we only found one the whole time. And I wish they would enforce some of the rules more. The amount of times I got hit during go karts when in the out area because people thought it was funny was very annoying. Same with people holding a place in line for a while group to walk past you. But all in all the park was great, it was very clean, and the staff was great at both the hotel and the park. I absolutely would go here again!

Stayed at Mount Olympus with my sons and had a great time in the Wisconsin Dell area. You got free water park there everyday with your stay. Everyone in your group which made it really fun and enjoyable. They have game room there, miniature golf course ,and even a a amusement rides that you can enjoy.

This was our 1st visit to the Waterpark only, we absolutely had a great day! It didn’t feel like it was over crowded but the lines for the big slides were quite long but it seemed like they moved at a good pace, lots of different age areas for the kids which made it even more enjoyable for our 3 year old. We ate lunch by the Toddler area and their French fries were delicious. Life jackets are available for no charge to use (if you forget to bring one like we did) in different areas of the waterpark. There were ample amount of lounge/sit up chairs available for resting time. Lots of photo ops also available to take for your memory books. Plenty of gift shops and little snack shops around the park, also plenty of restrooms The do have stroller/wagon/wheel chair rentals. If you don’t rent a room it is quite a walk from the parking lot to the waterpark with hills

I'll start by saying that I loved this place. My children and wife were very happy. From the moment we arrived to check in for my room, the staff was very friendly and always had a smile. The room was small but had all the important amenities: hot water, air conditioning, microwave, mini-fridge, and comfortable and clean beds. The parks, both the theme park and the water park, are incredible. I recommend visiting during the week. I arrived on a Thursday and left on a Saturday. Thursday and Friday were incredible; we were able to ride everything without waiting in lines. If you want to enjoy this place stress-free, visiting during the week is my recommendation. We will definitely be back soon. Thank you to all the friendly staff at Mt. Olympus.

Timbavati Wildlife Park is a family-friendly animal park that has been around for centuries and is home to over 350 animals from more than 70 species. Visitors can enjoy supervised interaction with various animals throughout the park and even take a ride on the Safari Train or a trained camel. The park offers interactive activities such as camel and pony rides, as well as opportunities for children to have close encounters with baby wallabies and kangaroos.
A Must-Do Experience in Wisconsin Dells! Our visit to Timbavati Wildlife Park was an absolute highlight of our trip to Wisconsin Dells. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a clean, well-organized park and incredibly friendly staff. The hands-on experiences are what truly set this place apart. We loved the giraffe feeding—getting up close with such majestic animals was an unforgettable moment to share. The variety of animals is impressive, and you can tell that they are well cared for. The zookeepers were knowledgeable and passionate, answering all our questions and sharing fun facts. The Safari Train Ride was a fantastic way to see many of the animals in a different setting. It felt like a mini-adventure. The park is a perfect size for a day date—not so big that you get exhausted, but with more than enough to see and do to fill several hours. Timbavati offers a genuine connection with wildlife that is wonderful to share with a partner. We can't wait to go back!

We took our kids this past week before the zoo closed for the season. Here is my honest review: The building right past where they have the sloths, baby goats, baby emu’s & tortoises - where the Iguana is housed .. is SOOO NASTY!! It stunk so bad we literally couldn’t even go see the poor animals that were trapped inside. It was awful!! I gagged for about 5 minutes straight after opening the door. I seriously wish I could’ve recorded the smell. The lions den and the tigers den.. PATHETIC!!!!! You can see the pace tracks from them going back and forth constantly. They looked very sad & the enclosures are not big enough for ONE big cat.. they have two stuffed in each enclosure!!! A measly Little Rock pile for them to climb on and a stream of water. Some of the animal enclosures were extremely dirty. The poor monkey was going back and forth his little enclosure and all the spots he stopped to sit & look out the poor thing couldn’t see because the glass was covered in filth!! On the plus side, the train ride was a neat experience. The Lammas came right up to you wanting carrots (you can buy feed.) The parrot experience was fun for the whole family too. Feeding the giraffe was awesome. Climbing the overlook tower was scary, but beautiful at the top. We are planning on going back in the summertime in hopes that the animal enclosures are better maintained!!

We visited Timbavati Wildlife Park on Father’s Day and had a great time! Our group included six adults and three kids (ages 3 to 8), and everyone had fun. There were no lines or long waits, which made the day feel super relaxed. One of the highlights was the free animal encounters—we got to go inside the bird and kangaroo enclosures, which was such a fun and unique experience for all ages. We also did the train ride, which was nice for giving our legs a break. It was helpful for feeding the deer and getting a closer look at the rhino, but aside from that, it didn’t add too much. If you’re okay walking, you could probably skip it, but it’s a good option for anyone who prefers less walking. The park itself was clean, easy to navigate, and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. We grabbed some ice cream by the lion enclosure to cool off before heading out. All in all, it was a great way to spend a Sunday—and we’d definitely come back again!

We had a VIP tour and it was a blast! We got to interact with so many animals and to learn so much information. It was early in the morning so all the animals were active and so cool to watch. We also did sloth and red panda encounters and it was a unique experience. Our kid got to interact with a ball python and now plays with his plush snake saying snakes are his favorite, so it was certainly enriching for him to visit. All animals were well cared for! Great thanks to our tour guide Lane for amazing time!

Went to the zoo today. We had both the red panda experience and sloth experience. I can't say enough good things about both. The red panda was the best. Came right across our laps to eat grapes. We were able to easily pet Puck(his name). It was so cool. We also fed the sloths and were able to pet them. Our encounter guide, Nicole was outstanding. Ask for her!!!!! Nicole was so knowledgeable and patient. We would go again tomorrow!!!

We had such a special time visiting Timbavati this weekend! The zoo is closed for the season but still offers the animal encounters which was incredible for a private experience. My husband and I met the red panda, Puck and he even sat on our lap. 🥲🥲🥲 We also did the sloth encounter, where we got to feed 5 sloths. Lulu was definitely the star of the show, but we absolutely loved them all. Thank you Sarah who took time to tell us about our animals friends and all their neighbors along the way while we walked through. It was such a special experience and I would highly recommend! We will be back!
Jackie K — Google review
It was great to see the animals and an awesome experience to be able to pet the kangaroos. They have the option to buy animal feed for you to feed the animals too. The train ride was cool and it stopped so that the animals could walk up to the train and people can feed them right there and pet them. The parakeet area was pretty cool, you enter into their spot where they are free flying and might even land on you.
Jamie E — Google review
First of all, we got this free with hotel so expectations were low. But given that, it was better than expected, in that there were a wide range of animals. Many looked sad, and I must say I prefer petting zoos with animals suited to cages. And the whole place has a bit of “seen better days” about out. But there really was a wide range - tigers and other big game, goats and birds and other things to observe. Good for families with young kids.

Parfrey's Glen State Natural Area

Mentioned on
1 list
Nature preserve
Nature & Parks
Parfrey's Glen State Natural Area is a stunning location in Wisconsin with a sandstone gorge featuring mossy walls, a creek leading to a waterfall, and shaded hiking trails. It is known as Wisconsin's first State Natural Area due to its remarkable beauty. The natural surroundings are breathtaking with frogs hopping over rocks and logs along the creek and various layers of lush moss on the stone walls. It offers peace and tranquility which makes it an absolute must-visit destination for nature lovers.
This is one of our favorite hikes in the area. The official trail is not very long and is not very difficult. You hike alongside a stream for a little ways. Once the official trail ends, many people continue hiking back up in the gorge to get to a small waterfall. This part of the hike is very slippery and is a make-your-own-hike type of walk. This is NOT an official part of the hike but it is allowed. If you choose to continue walking past the official trail, make sure you wear shoes that can get wet because you will be walking in amongst a stream. Also, this involves balancing on rocks and pieces of wood to zigzag across the stream up to the little waterfall. I would recommend this hike for young adults who are physically able to balance and maneuver up and around large, slippery rocks. This hike is not dog friendly. Dogs are not allowed. Also, one time we went here the parking lot was full. So, if you want to hike this on a weekend in the summer, be prepared for there to be a wait to find a parking spot. We have a blast every single time that we hike this trail. We love to create our own adventure here!
Sylvia P — Google review
Such a pretty spot to hike! The trail is really nice. Would recommend some water friendly shoes or hiking boots for the last bit of the hike. You will be going through lots of rocky/watery areas so keep that in mind! The waterfall at the end is definitely worth the hike! Took us about an hour to go in and back. Would definitely visit again.
Lillie H — Google review
There is a $16 day pass but it works for all parks in the area to my understanding. Medium walk to get to the main waterfall at the end. You hike through little streams and huge rocks but so pretty and relaxing and worth it. If you take little ones there are a few spots to be careful at. Bathrooms at the beginning of the trail, parking lot to park at. Recommend this spot to check out If you like waterfalls, this place has a bunch of little ones. And rocks that make you feel like an ant. Check out the videos and pictures I shared.
XFamily 7 — Google review
A great straight shot hike for when it’s kind of too hot. Sometimes I crave waterfalls, having grown up near more. I brought my dog here in the hopes of finding someplace silent to be by a waterfall and stop overthinking for an hour or so. When you think you get to the end, walk up the waterfall because the best and most secluded waterfall is past that. I’d recommend a walking stick and waterproof hiking shoes due to slippery conditions. But this is one of those places where you feel seen by your ancestors in a good way.
Becky L — Google review
A Wisconsin State Park Daily or Annual pass is required to park at this trailhead. There is a decent size parking lot but this area does get busy on summer weekends. Street parking is not allowed unless you park a bit up the road. We took our 4 and 7 year olds who loved the challenge of the trail (after the 'maintained' delineation line). It was wild and adventurous and they had a blast leading us back and forth across the creek and climbing boulders. Definitely bring waterproof hiking shoes or water shoes with grip. It's a great place to be on a hot day - the water and rocks keep the ravine nice and cool. The kids were excited to see an American Giant Millipede and a really cool Common Whitetail dragonfly. There were so many butterflies too.
Postcard T — Google review
Great hidden spot to visit, the earlier the better as the parking lot fills up fast. A decent trek to the Glen but worth the walk. Bring water shoes to see the waterfall, impossible to get there with dry socks.
Anna G — Google review
Wonderful place to visit. About a 15 minute hike to see. Take your water proof shoes or boots. Well worth the time to see. This was my favorite stop on our Wisconsin trip.
John L — Google review
Beautiful is the word to describe this place! The hike to the little waterfall is really technical, and there are a few spots. Where you think the trail ends, but you have to cross the little creek to reconnect with the trail.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience at Chula Vista Resort! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was seamless. The service was truly superior—attentive, professional, and incredibly kind. The staff didn’t just provide service—they provided care. Every interaction made it clear that their priority was ensuring our event was seamless, memorable, and stress-free. The space itself is beautiful and welcoming, but what truly sets this place apart is the team. The Chula Vista Team was AMAZING! They exceeded expectations in every way, making the entire event stress-free and enjoyable. From Brooke & Ozlem handling all of our special requests - especially pulling together a last minute Blood Mary Bar! To Lucas handling every IT hiccup with speedy professionalism and a smile! The attention to detail was remarkable. From setup to timing, everything was handled with precision, yet never felt rushed or forced. The team anticipated needs before we even voiced them and always checked in with kindness and attentiveness. It was the kind of service that makes you feel completely taken care of, allowing us to fully enjoy the occasion without worry. The Chula Vista team’s attention to detail was remarkable. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for not only a gorgeous setting, but also top-notch service that makes you feel valued and cared for.

The Condo rooms are absolutely amazing and some of the best rooms I stay in on a trip. Can fit a great number of people between the 2 Queen beds and the King bed. Having a kitchen in the room is so nice. The hot tub is an added bonus! Stayed on the 1st floor this year and the ceilings were incredibly high. Plus we had a walk off patio.
Nathan G — Google review
For the price of the rooms, I thought the rooms were a little run down. They are very large, and have a refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. This was great. There were stains on the shower curtain and everything just looked like it needed sprucing up. The pillows, which you got 3 per bed, were small and square. Very odd. There was a table and chairs and a sofa in the room. Our table had a chunk of wood taken out of it. Also, our tub didn't drain and we had little water pressure in the shower. We were here for our daughters wedding. We were very happy with everything dealing with the wedding. The ballroom, ceremony and staff were wonderful. Jenny was amazing and came through in the clutch when needed. Kudos to the event staff.

We had my hubby's racing banquet there. The rooms were big , clean and great temp controlled. The hotel was very nice. We stayed there with our 2 kids and enjoyed the inside water park the next day. We will definitely be back.
Judith W — Google review
So one of the only reasons I'd recommend this place at all is because of the water park. My kids loved it. But, everything else was not great. It started by us not knowing where to even go for check in. We center what we thought was the right building for there to be a sign to go to another building, which we wouldn't know that never having been there before. We get to the other building, only one person checking people in, we waited in line for her to help the person in front of us for over 40 mins. Now, it was our fault for not allowing the kids to get there sooner but we showed up at the hotel at 6 thinking they'd have time to swim. Didn't expect the park to close at 8 and for our wait to get checked in to take over 40 mins. So the kids had less than an hour. The water park is only accessible through a specific building underground in a tunnel which atleast we didnt have to go outside but was a long walk to get to it. The rooms themselves were not great. I pulled out the sofa bed and it was super gross. The mattress was still folded up like it was 20 years old. It had rips a s years all through it with barely anything covering it. It was gross looking. The beds were super uncomfortable and the blankets were scrappy and gross. Location wasn't great because it was further away from. The downtown part than was anticipated. The only other good thing was there was barely anyone there so the kids had no lines to wait in for any slides. I think there were maybe 4 other kids there. This was on a Monday during a fall break.

Experience was great. Attended Aquatifur 2025 and had a blast! The waterpark is awesome (if not limited in the wintertime of course, but still its great), the hotel staff are polite to the furry community in attendance, and the rooms are generally nice. Wouldn't say perfect, the light switches in our room were a bit broken, but generally everything else was great!
Ron C — Google review
Came to the Chula Vista for the first time to attend Aquatifur 2025 and roomed with a few friends. Check in was simple and quick. Natalie was very nice and explained everything we needed to know perfectly. Our room was over on the condo side and was right across from the waterpark. The only thing I would say for there is, I wish the little tiki bar drink menu actually had prices shown on the menus. Other than that I had an absolute blast at Chula Vista this past weekend and will definitely be back again in the future!
Nicole ( — Google review
Aquatifur hosted at the Chula Vista resort is a blast!!! The rooms are spacious and the suites are full on large apartments with whole oven and microwave In the suites and microwaves in the regular rooms. The smaller rooms also have pull out beds which are not advertised. Also had a good time hanging out with my freinds here 10/10

At its center stands the Dean's Residence, a Gothic Victorian house that was home to the university's first four deans.

Beautiful, well-maintained garden on campus with events and other features as well. Pretty smart of them to have assigned that charges if you want to do formal photo shoot because I could see it getting overcrowded if it were free. Lots of different species and everything is labeled and well displayed .

Loved the summer jazz concerts, and I still get inspiration from your section on ground covers, even though I now live in an apartment with a balcony, haha. This garden is a very peaceful retreat for me as well as a good place to meet friends.

Beautiful, little, well-taken-care of garden within the city. Various plants, benches, small streams, and paths that intertwine and weave through the lush vegetation. Spent about an hour here as a family walking the grounds and viewing the plants. The garden is free to explore, and there is parking nearby on the street or for a fee. Beautiful garden to sit for a while, while trying to experience nature within the city.

Lake Mendota, the largest lake in its area and the eighth largest in Wisconsin, offers a natural escape from city life with its expansive 26-mile shoreline. It is a popular spot for fishing, with an abundance of fish such as walleye, northern pike, and smallmouth bass. Positioned between Lake Mendota and Lake Monona, Madison provides access to waterfront recreation and scenic beauty. The lakes offer opportunities for water sports, fishing, and lakeside picnics.
Have you read the short story about Lake Mendota and dugout canoes in the Smithsonian Magazine, January/February 2025? If you're visiting this location after reading it, like this post, and let me know in the comments what connections or inspirations brought you here!

Does anyone notice after the discovery of archaeological canoes and fishing gear, if you zoom into the two dark spots within the lake, you can see what appear to be 2 old sunken canoes within the lake itself? I’m not sure if it’s accurate what I see, but 800 to 4,500 years old. I mean, wow, just amazing. I can’t wait to find out what it’s all about.

If you're looking for a quintessential summer experience in Madison, look no further than the Madison Mallards. This collegiate baseball team brings families together at The Duck Pond, where the atmosphere is as lively as the game itself. With over 30 home games from late May through August, there's always something happening. The stadium has been revamped to include a spacious grass berm known as the Physicians Plus Backyard and an elevated deck called the Great Dane Duck Blind—perfect for groups celebrating special occasions.
Thank you so much Mallards for everything, we celebrated our holiday and prayed for the first time inside this beautiful stadium, the customer service went above and beyond our expectation, especially Jaden, who helped us last night for the setup, and today he came so early to make sure everything is good to go, he is a wonderful person. I really recommend this place for everyone. Sincerely, Mohamed

Great small ballpark experience! Even from the second level, the view is as good as sitting on the first floor at a major MLB stadium — very close and clear. There are plenty of restrooms nearby, and lots of food options throughout the park. Just a heads-up: if you’re visiting in the summer, there can be quite a few mosquitoes!

Overall, it was a great experience. The kids enjoyed all the on field games at the end of innings. They loved the dog retrieving the bats. However, the biggest letdown was the 2 girls running the plinko game on 8/5. They spent the whole time chatting about where they were going that night and just kept letting the line get longer. They weren't paying attention to kids climbing up or coming down. They were rude when talking to the kids, and it made for a bad end to a fun evening.

This museum is so unique and just amazing! The owner Bret made for us almost 4 hours tour (because we needed to leave but there is so much more to see and hear) which was super interesting. Bret is truly passionate about the WWII and all the items and treasures he has in his museum and can tell you so many interesting stories about it which makes this museum so unique! Everybody should visit! Bret, thank you very much for such a great experience during my study abroad in Wisconsin!
Tereza P — Google review
I went here with my family a few weeks ago and as someone who loves WWII my initial thoughts upon seeing the place where honestly less than enthusiastic but I cannot stress how absolutely wrong my assumption was. The owner Brett is an unbelievably charismatic yet humble guy who’s collection of WWII artifacts is hands down unparalleled to anything in Wisconsin but to leave it at that is only the half of it. For each artifact that Brett has in his immense collection he has an incredible story and background to it that will undoubtedly capture the interest and imagination of even the least interested person, a few will even likely put you on the verge of tearing up (myself included). As someone who’s visited Smithsonian’s museums several times this place looks like a hole in the wall from the outside but the experience that me and my family felt by the time we walked out of this little portage WWII museum was something I have absolutely no doubt any of us will ever forget. As far as I’m concerned this, to me, is was put portage on the map. Brett thank you for your commitment and immense respect to this part of our nations history and to those who were a part of it and also for keeping the stories all of which you retold so wonderfully alive.

The WW2 Museum in Portage, Wisconsin is a must see for everyone. Brett runs the museum and he has a huge collection of rare and unique items from WW 2 and other military conflicts. Brett know the back story on all the item and I guarantee he will have many things you have not seen. I highly recommend this tour to everyone. We drove from Texas to see the museum and we were not disappointed. Great job Brett.

We loved this place. Its a great destination for anyone needing a delicious place for home made ice cream or a great lunch meal. Unlimited milk with meal is a cute addition. The other local items for sale was great as well. We met a member of the family that owns the place while she was feeding the cows and goats. Had a great conversation too. If this place was close to us, we would make it at least a weekly stop. Staff was attentive, and pleasant to deal with. Make sure you do not miss this gem!

Delicious ice cream hands down! Whatever they do in the processing I didn’t get the curdling feeling I get in having dairy. This hidden gem in the middle of nowhere offers a quant ambiance and views of the country side while enjoying a meal/snack and or ice cream. A cornhole and playground for the kids/family to enjoy. Seating outside to enjoy the views.

Stopped for a movie while celebrating Christmas with our kids and grandkids. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The prices are fantastic; the tickets, popcorn, soda AND candy cost less than just the tickets alone would have cost anywhere else. Thanks for a great experience!

I am editing my review based on what I woke up to this morning. My social media was filled with the same behaviors nationwide in nearly every theatre. It would not be fair to judge the business by some stupid online trend occurring everywhere. That being said, it still doesn't sit right with me that there were 3 people sitting next to each other on the outside 3 seats across from the walkway light in the middle on the who had their phones raised the entire movie recording and another 4 on the right side and you somehow didn't see that. Twice. If I return, hopefully there will be something in place to address that issue instead of relying on people to complain.

It was such a fun experience to watch a movie here! I really enjoyed learning about the history of the place, and it’s definitely a must-visit when we’re in town to see our family.

My wife and I took our two youngest here for the first time and it was great! Four tickets, 2 lg popcorns, lg soda, freeze dried gummy worms and a bag of mini Kit Kats and still cost $10 less than it did for just my wife and I to see a movie at AMC w a lg popcorn, lg fountain drink and 5 small mozzarella sticks two months ago….we will definitely be regulars from now on.

For the last 3 years now, the historic Montello Theatre has been gracious enough to allow the Portage Cub Scouts Pack 70 hold our March Pack meeting at their theater! It's been a pretty cool visit every year and we look forward to doing it again. Thank you for your support.

Wisconsin is known for its cheese and not coming to this state without getting any is a shame. Schultz’s Cheese Haus is an easy location to miss while going on the highway at high speed. If you get the chance, you’ll find some great cheese varieties here ranging from 8 year aged cheddar to morel and leek cheese. The worker here was very nice and had a lot of free samples of cheese and mustards to taste. If you’re in the area and you like cheese, you can’t go wrong with Schultz’s Cheese Haus.

I LOVE this place. I did a hard U-turn just to get back to this place. The ladies are so lovely and cheese is just about the best thing ever. So I bought a lot of stuff and had such a good time. Lots of cheese! Very Wisconsin-y

You gotta go! So much to taste and see. We drive over 300 miles for this (and to see our son and his family, while we're here). And, yes, they do have an online site, but honestly, I just love this place!

Our Airbnb host recommended this cheese shop.We visit from Ohio and is our first time near Fox Lake. Nice store, great, helpful staff that cater to customer needs,. Cheese is great, amazing salted caramel chocolates. We usually stay in Madison closer to family but have found a slower, cozier vacation destination with a charming cheese shop very near! Thank you ladies for doing an excellent job!

Elan Brio Spa

Spa
Spas & Wellness
I have been to many spas, but Lisa gave me the BEST 80 min massage I’ve ever had. The spa wasn’t busy, making a friends day in celebration of a best friends birthday even better. The salt water pool and a drink was the perfect touch after a great massage and the hot tub with jets was the final touch and couldn’t have been better. I do wish there was a better selection of alcoholic beverages and poolside service but it didn’t make or break the day at all. Thank you Elon Brio!

My mom and I thoroughly enjoyed the pampering we received!! Such a relaxing day at the spa! All the amenities along with our facials and massages were absolutely the best!!! From having a separate hot tub and steam room to all the extra little touches like toiletries available in the womens locker room and the coconut water in the lounge was such a bonus! Thank you for helping us to create such a great Mother/Daughter get away! Memories that we will cherish forever!!!

Very unorganized, and very unprofessional. Tried to book my wedding hair and makeup for myself and bridesmaids. They NEVER get back to you. Took a deposit, and I can't get it back. I booked elsewhere, and have had nothing but an amazing experience. The last thing a bride needs is this mess. Would not recommend for an event. We are getting married right down the road, and would not use them!

This place is one of the most beautiful spa's I've ever been to. Inside and out. The exterior is a little prairie with modern. The inside is just a nice. The only complaint I have is the steam room is way too hot. And you can't regulate it. My wife had an 80 minute massage. She loved it.

Our friends got us tickets for the Sunset Cruise on Saturday. It was amazing! The owners of the place were great and served drinks and snacks in the cafe' before we headed out on the marsh. But, the boat ride was amazing. Our boat captain, (K?)Carl, was a hoot, and knew everything about the marsh and the local history, everything from Glaciers to present day. He pointed out all the cool things we passed, cranes, eagles, herons, muskrats, ducks, so many birds, but the real magic happened right after we drifted under the bald eagle nest, as the sun set, the swallows came out by the hundreds to feed on the bugs in the marsh. It was an absolutely breathtaking sight. If you're thinking of going, DO IT! The place is great, the boats are clean and quiet, and our guide was amazing.

My friends and I drove down and took the boat tour yesterday afternoon, we didn't have reservations but we called on the drive down and they got us on a boat! It was Great! I have never been to the marsh, so did not know what to expect, but it kinda blew me away, our guide on the tour was a retired ranger, and he was fantastic, full if interesting stuff, we saw a pair of Eagles, muskrats, herons, and I had no idea how much the marsh had been changed by people in the last couple hundred years. Again kudos to the captain and the crew at the Blue Heron, great coffee too with a cute shop and cafe'

We came up with family to take the Horicon Marsh Boat Tour, I have to say it was fantastic. Whether you're a serious birdwatcher or just looking for a family outing, this is the place to go, they have a mud boat tour, they rent kayaks, and they have the awesome tour on a HUGE pontoon boat! Getting into the marsh, right up and close to the birds and wildlife was incredible. The true star of the show, however, was the boat guide. My husband and I were lucky enough to have Carl, and he was incredible. He didn't just point out birds; he brought the entire marsh to life. He has an amazing knowledge of the marsh’s history, wildlife, and ecology, and he shares it all with enthusiasm. We saw fawns on the islands, egrets, and some big black duck I can't remember the name of... and of course a ton of birds! He had a great way of tailoring the tour to what our family found most interesting, answering every question with patience and a genuine passion for the environment. (thanks again for helping our dad on the the boat with his walker!!) He was an wealth of history knowledge, and he was funny, I can still here the 'Dam' jokes he told! His way of talking made the entire experience feel less like a tour and more like an adventure with a super knowledgeable friend. The whole operation, from the online reservation process to the friendly staff, made for a perfect, memorable day. (My main piece of advice? definitely book ahead, especially for the migratory season!) And don't forget to grab a bite and a drink at their sup cute cafe!

🛶 Horicon Marsh Boat Tour – Saturday, September 13, 1PM A truly enjoyable experience from start to finish. The waiting area was charming and thoughtfully designed, offering three seating options—an outdoor patio, a shaded porch, and a cozy indoor coffee nook. Clean, welcoming, and clearly infused with the owner’s personal touch. Booking online was simple, and I appreciated the updated schedule and punctual departure—an impressive feat for a small operation. The pontoon-style boat provided a smooth, almost meditative ride, with respectful pauses to honor the wildlife we were learning about. Our guide, Karl, was excellent. His narration blended local history, ecological insights, and commentary on nearby industrial development with clarity and warmth. The sound system was well-adjusted, allowing me to hear him clearly despite wind and shifting boat direction. No mosquitoes, no hassle—just a peaceful, informative afternoon. Highly recommended.
Liminal S — Google review
Unfortunately the tour did not match up with our expectations. We went on an afternoon tour yesterday. I thought it would be a guided, narrated tour where we would learn a lot about the marsh, the ecology, the wildlife etc. The guide briefly mentioned a few of the buildings on the way to the marsh, pointed out 2 birds as we entered the marsh and showed us a tree that beavers had chewed on. That was the extent of any narration on the tour. The majority of the ride did not have any tour guide led narration. He did chat during the tour with the people sitting in the back, but as we sat in the front, we were not able to ask questions. I don’t think I would have spent $70 on a silent sightseeing tour if I would have known it was going to be like that. Perhaps consider standardizing the experience across all boat captains.

Troy and Jodell’s Blue Heron Landing Lounge and Café is the perfect place to start a boat tour of the Horicon Marsh. Get there 30 minutes early and meet your boat mates as they enjoy a breakfast or light lunch, pretty much gourmet and made fresh while you wait. Don’t forget to take a Bloody Mary on the tour—or coffee : ) The marsh is absolutely breathtaking. Our tour guide, Marty, was both knowledgeable and comical as he shared the history and secrets of the marsh and its inhabitants. This experience was definitely much more than we expected. We’ll be back in the Spring!

Awesome Sunset Tour at Horicon Marsh Me and my wife took a 2-hour sunset tour on a Saturday evening the 27th of Sept, and man, it was a blast! We almost didn’t get in, but a fluke of luck got us aboard! There were 17 of us on the boat, which felt just right—enough folks to keep it fun. Before the tour we were treated to some great snacks and drinks, then the last call was given and we all heded down to board the boat, A bunch of us brought some drinks from the Blue Heron café and bar, like wine and beer, and I saw a few had bloody marys!, which made the vibe even better. We’re big into birdwatching, and this tour did not disappoint. We saw many kinds of birds—pretty darn cool! Our guide, Carl, was top-notch. Guy’s got a loud, clear voice and knows a ton about the marsh. He dropped some wild facts, like stuff about the Blue Heron’s powder feathers I’d never heard before, and told us all about Horicon Marsh’s history and how they’re working to keep it thriving and restoring it. The best part? We cruised right under an eagle’s nest and later got an up-close look at those awesome birds. Carl handled that big boat like a pro turned it sideways into the amazing sunset, making sure everyone got a good view. He was always pointing out diffent birds and even a deer on an island! and giving us all a chance to check ‘em out, even backed the boat up into a bay so we could see some Sandhill Cranes. It was a chill, gorgeous ride with the sunset lighting up the sky. The boat’s set up for folks with mobility issues, which is great. We’re already stoked to go back next year—totally worth it!

The Horicon National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center is a great place to start your visit. The visitor center is just one stop along the way to a lifetime of adventures in the Horicon Marsh. The visitor center is located on the south side of the marsh and offers an interactive, educational experience for all ages. The visitor center offers opportunities for visitors to watch and learn about the birds and wildlife that inhabit the marsh and even spot some of the waterfowl that migrate through the marsh each year. Enjoy your visit!

My friend and I spent the day roaming around parts of Wisconsin looking for cute vineyards, and this was by far our absolute favorite! The staff at Vines & Rushes were so friendly and welcoming. I went home with a bottle of course, and loved hearing the history behind the property. If you’re like us, and looking for the perfect cheese and wine spot… THIS IS IT!
Marcie W — Google review
Vines and Rushes is truly an outstanding winery and experience! Nicole made our visit extra special and went above and beyond, and I think we’ll always remember it because of her. We even forgot 2 bottles at the shop and she drove down and found us at the bar we were watching the game at to get them to us!! I was tasked with getting wine for my sisters wedding this summer, and specifically chose vines and rushes as it’s considered the best winery in Wisconsin - it did not disappoint. Even my French partner agreed the wine was SO good! We tried a huge selection and all of them were incredibly well made. We got all our wine and even flew a half a case home with us. Great wine, great story, and great people!

Beautiful winery with a great selection of wine- and the food was excellent as well! We sampled 5 wines for $5 and ended up buying 2 bottles to take home. The brick oven pizza was incredible! Very friendly staff- they were helpful and attentive.

We had driven past Vines and Rushes several times and finally had a chance to stop there. We were there on a weekday afternoon so it was not very busy. The facility is very impressive. We enjoyed a wine tasting and then purchased a glass of wine and one of their employees spent about 30 minutes giving us a tour of the winemaking operation. Nicole was very knowledgeable and helpful and obviously enthusiastic about the business. We definitely will be coming back here for some woodfired pizza some evening. They have taken this beyond just a place to stop and buy some wine, it is a destination type of place now! Stop here, you will not be disappointed!
David J — Google review
This was an accidental GEM!! Flew into Milwaukee and driving to Osh Kosh we had the pleasure to pop in for a spot of wine tasting. Friendly staff who gave us great history and explanation of the wines. Discovering we were from out of town, they informed us that they SHIP!! 10 days after leaving we received our box of wine. The location is spacious with outdoor seating and views of the vineyards. And while they only grow 4 type of grapes here, their wines are blended with grapes ONLY grown in Wisconsin. The building is absolutely ginormous. Catering to happy hour, girls night, and date nights. Wood fire pizza oven and bar on one side and plenty of additional seating on the other side. This would be a great location to host a baby or bridal shower, company lunch or family get together. Live music most weeks and you’d better not leave without perusing the store for knick knacks and snacks. If I ever find myself in these parts again, Vines & Rushes is a YES for me.

LOVE the pizza. They were busy when we came, with a lot of orders ahead of us but we got our pizza without too bad a wait given the volume of food orders. All of the people there were very friendly and accommodating. Only thing I would suggest is a way to make the pizza crust firmer, in the middle. Toward the edge it was perfect. Overall flavor was excellent.

The EAA Aviation Museum, located in Oshkosh, is a captivating destination for aviation enthusiasts and history buffs. Established by a small group of aviation enthusiasts in the 1950s, the museum has evolved into a remarkable collection featuring over 200 historic airplanes and helicopters, along with more than 20,000 aviation artifacts. Visitors can explore immersive exhibits that showcase the rich history of civilian and military aviation.
It's SO Big! So much to see and learn we didn't even do it all! I will say I had read and been told it was free to get in here, It is not so heads up it's $15 for adults and 3-17 is $12. We really enjoyed the interactive Area and the aircrafts you could get into!
Karla T — Google review
Nice museum that showcases many aspects of aviation! They have a fun area for kids inside as well, I will say the simulators offered need to be maintained better only 2-8 were in working order. Lastly my group could not find a bathroom in the top of the museum once you enter. ( this was a problem for some members of my group)
Tyler H — Google review
Wow! You can eat off the floor in this place. This event has a price to pay at the door, but that quickly becomes irrelevant after you start looking around in here. It is the best museum I’ve been to to date. Oshkosh turns upside down during their “Air Show”every year the end of July. I’ll go to that someday. I went outside to see the hangers out back and found some of the plane owner’s vehicles out there. Those were as cool as the airplanes were back there. You see old cars all the time, but I’ve never seen an old delivery truck. That made my day. I could’ve and should’ve flown the Blue and Yellow biplane while I was there because the line was short at the time. Oooops, I’ll get that one done the next time I’m here. I had the best of times here and I’m really glad that I went here. Put this on your must do list. Enjoy…

*** FREE AIRPLANE RIDES FOR KIDS!!! If that doesn't get your attention I don't know what will. On weekends they run a Young Eagles program which kids ages 8-17 are able to get a 10-15 minute plane ride in which they are even given the chance to take the controls. There is no extra cost just the cost of the museum which is extremely reasonable. $37 gets the family in and includes 2 adults and up to five kids. On top of that amazing experience the museum has numerous other kid related things through our it and everything for the aviation enthusiast. From all sorts of planes for early in flight through about the early 70's. Tons of history, exhibits, models, etc. Plan at least 3-4 hours to see and do everything. Weekend we went was not crowded at all. Can't recommend this place high enough.

Different than other aviation museums we have been too. This is mostly experimental aircraft. There was a lot of interesting stuff to see however. This is a large museum and it's well put together. Prepare to spend at least two to three hours. Recommended.

An absolutely amazing museum for aviation enthusiasts and history enthusiasts alike. So much planes in here and stuff to learn. You could spend an entire day in here. Its also a very nice atmosphere. The restrooms are clean and there are water fountains located with delicious water incase youre thirsty. I came here with my older brother and his wife in july for the 2025 oshkosh airventure which was incredible. I highly recommend visiting this museum while you are in the area, its really worth it. There are also some interactive exhibits such as air pressure and gyro force. Even if you know nothing about aviation it is still a cool place for anyone who wants to learn.

River side camping was fun. If you want quiet time I would recommend camping away from river side. Set up earlier if you have a big rig on the riverside. It seems to fill up quickly with lots of groups. Campground seems very nice overall. My wife and I enjoyed our stay. It’s clean. The washrooms are clean there dump was a little more level. A fun place to go stay for the weekend with lots of people.

We had an amazing time at Wolf River Trips and Campground! From start to finish, the entire experience was smooth and enjoyable. The check-in process was incredibly easy and well-organized, which made settling in stress-free. The staff were all friendly, helpful, and clearly take pride in what they do—they made us feel welcome right away. One of the biggest highlights was how clean the bathrooms were. You can tell they stay on top of maintenance and cleanliness, which is a huge plus when camping. It’s rare to find campground facilities that are this well taken care of. The food was another unexpected bonus! Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or enjoying something more hearty, everything we had was tasty and well-prepared. It really added to the overall convenience and enjoyment of the trip. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun, easy, and clean outdoor getaway with great people and good food!

Our family had a great time at Wolf River Trips & Campground! The staff made us feel welcome and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The check-in process was smooth, and we were impressed right away by how clean and well-kept the grounds were. Our campsite was easy to access, and came with a picnic table and fire ring—perfect for evenings around the campfire. The bathrooms and showers were spotless (a huge plus compared to many other campgrounds we’ve visited), and the laundry area was a nice convenience. The highlight for us was definitely the river tubing trip. The staff handled all the shuttles and made it so easy, and floating down the Little Wolf River was peaceful, fun, and safe for the whole family. They also have a centrally located playground, volleyball court, basketball hoops, a bags and ladder toss area as well as horseshoes. After a day on the river, we had dinner at the Upper Deck Bar & Grill. The food was great and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and attentive. We met several seasonal campers there who all had very good things to say about the new owners. We went during the week which was nice since it wasn't crowded and there was very little wait time for food orders, shuttle rides and the tubing was leisurely and pleasant. We’re already planning our next trip back and would highly recommend Wolf River Trips & Campground.

Great time and even better to do with friends! I only did the river trip and enjoyed a short trip with a group of 5. Very affordable and fun to have a tube for your cooler as well! It is difficult when the water level is low, so make sure to have a sturdy pair of flip flops to kick off rocks

Lakeside Park

Park
Nature & Parks
Waterfront outdoor area with a quaint lighthouse, carousel & mini train ride, plus boat rentals.
Lakeside park has a fantastic playground and we spent hours there between the zipline, swings, slides, and net climbing tower. Very safe, multiple playgrounds for various ages, lots of swings, and the other families there were kind. No dogs allowed around the playground. There's a nice paved path and walking trail, which we enjoyed.

Great park with beautiful landscaping and paths. There are many events in the park and the playground and splash pad are great for the kids. We love watching sunrises and sunsets over the lake here. It's especially great now that they added the walking bridge to get over to Lakeside West Park. You can walk or run quite a long ways now
Melanie C — Google review
The park has a great mix of playgrounds for all ages, making it easy for families with kids at different stages to all have fun. One of the most impressive updates recently was the addition of an all-access playground, designed so that children who use wheelchairs can fully participate. It’s thoughtful, inclusive, and something every community should have. One of my personal favorites is the zip line—even as an adult, it’s hard not to smile watching kids zoom across with joy (or sneaking in a turn myself). Whether you’re here for the playgrounds, a walk by the lake, or just to enjoy some fresh air, Lakeside Park continues to be a place where memories are made. Can’t recommend it enough.

Came here to explore and stumbled on the Fondy food truck festival. Simply a ton of trucks! Hard to choose but finally decided on a Korean corn dog Besides that this is an excellent park which is a series of small islands connected by bridges. There is a marina and a lighthouse, great view of the lake. Playground and small amusement park for kids. It was extremely busy here due to the festival but this is a great park so I’m sure it’s always busy

We were only going to be in Fond Du Lac, WI for a day and found out it coinsided with one of their big summer festivals called Walleye Weekend! I grew up in South Dakota and I love walleye, so we went. What a beautiful park and huge! Located right on Lake Winnebago. Beautiful views! There was so much going on; fishing, boat displays, live bands, food tents, picnics, kids area, frisby area. Too much to list all but a really good time! Glad we went to this beautiful park!

Really nice park. Lots of family memories. Grandsons still remember the rides. Was happy 2 c that the train rides survived.

Great park to visit for a picnic or walk on their trail (apprx 3 miles round trip but can shorten your walk if you like). Plenty of picnic areas, great views, playground.

The Paine Art Center & Gardens is a well-preserved historic estate in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, featuring a stunning mansion with European-style architecture and an impressive art collection. The estate also includes 20 meticulously maintained gardens that offer diverse landscapes and seasonal blooms. Visitors can explore the public art galleries showcasing changing exhibitions and attend special events held on the grounds. One of the current exhibits features ndwango, a unique form of bead art created by South African women.
The Nature of Light exhibit is great for families with kids of all ages (mine are teens and adults) and also a romantic date night! If you visit from 9 to 9:45pm there is a brief but entertaining light-dance duo performing. We bought the Ultimate package including the inside mansion portion which is lovely but you get a wonderful experience with the main outdoor tickets. I've attended twice (2023 and 2025) and it's definitely worth a repeat visit. The Paine has rotating exhibits and a magical Nutcracker program at Christmas. It's a gem in Oshkosh for art and entertainment.

We went to the Nature of Light exhibit at the Paine Art Center. It was stunningly beautiful. The exhibit was interactive, so we were able to touch and turn parts of the exhibit. We felt a feeling of wonder, happiness and peace the whole time we were there. This was definitely worth the trip.

I had such a wonderful time at The Nature of Light: Ultimate Experience. From the start, the ticketing process was seamless, and I really appreciated how they had staggered entry times to keep things from feeling crowded. The whole event had a great flow, and the experience felt both relaxing and immersive. One of my favorite touches was the warm drinks provided on a cool night, it was a perfect little comfort amidst the stunning light displays. The sculptures were absolutely breathtaking, and I loved the way they cast such beautiful shadows. It was incredible to see them in both the indoor and outdoor settings, with each one offering a unique perspective. There were so many magical moments, especially as the rain added to the atmosphere. The trees and sky sparkled with glittering lights, and the whole environment felt even more enchanting. Every corner had a little surprise, and it was easy to lose track of time while taking in all the beauty. I truly enjoyed every moment of this experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something special to enjoy with friends or family. A must-see event that combines art, nature, and light in the most magical way!

The light show was beautiful. They were already beginning Christmas setup, which made it a bit odd. The house is quite large, the grounds a bit small for the house's size, but still lovely. The staff were very helpful and nice.

We visited the Paine art center for a breakfast. The architecture is absolutely stunning! I especially loved the intricate wooden carving on doors, stairs, and moldings. The garden is beautiful and well manicured with a feeling of being in someone's secret garden. I highly recommend this beautiful venue with fascinating history!
Esther Z — Google review
The Nature of Light exhibit was quite remarkable, in terms of creativity and variety. It began in the main floor of the mansion, then about ninety percent of the exhibit was outside. Strobes through trees, geographic sculptures, manicured gardens. A short performance dance set. Lots of opportunity to sit and take this all in. Highly recommend

We went for the light in the garden experience, run do not walk it is an amazing night. We did the first time slot at 820, so very little waiting and crowds. We got so many amazing pictures. You can go as long as you want. Can not wait for our next visit

What a pleasure to tour the Paine Art 🖼️ Center and Gardens with lots of other moms and families on this gorgeous day! ☀️ I have always loved the Paine and today was extra fabulous with free admission! We enjoyed the gardens and touring the mansion. Love to hear that they’ve partnered with some UWO classes, giving those students a chance to learn history of the Paine family, their home and some history of Oshkosh industry as well. I commend the Paine for extending free admission to all on Mother’s Day. Truly a gift 💝 to the community. 🌷🌼🌸🌺🪻💐

Menominee Park Zoo is a charming 8-acre seasonal zoo located within the expansive Menominee Park in Oshkosh. The zoo features a rotating collection of approximately 30-50 native and exotic animals each year, providing an enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages.
This is a free zoo! It's not huge, but it's a lot of fun! Decent selection of animals and a nice little gift shop/snack shop. Large new playground, just around the corner from the zoo, as well as a small beach area on Lake Winnebago.

Fun little zoo and the park next to it is great for the kids to play! We really enjoyed our time here

This is the perfect little zoo to take your kids when it’s hotter than the blazes and you just can’t do the Milwaukee County zoo. Yes, it’s small, but that’s the beauty of it. Bring quarters for the goat, llama, and donkey feeding and look for the cute little tortoise, crawling around the grounds. We had a great time.

We love this little free zoo! The animals are well taken care of, the grounds are very clean, and the playground next door is wonderful!

A great zoo. Every September they have snooze at the zoo which is camping inside the zoo with a movie, food and activities. I take my daughter every year. She loves it and it's great to see people year after year at the event.

Tiki Beach Resort

Nature & Parks
Family-friendly option featuring large burgers & other comfort fare in chill, pirate-themed digs.
Rented one of the cabins for the night, definitely will be coming back again next year! The owner Jodi is great. The cabins are very nice, awesome views of the beach, and included a mini fridge + microwave. Bathrooms are just a short walk away from the cabins. The beach has a bar that you can order food from as well. Lots of rental options at the beach - cabanas, kayaks, paddle boards, etc.

Very rude staff. Bartender ignored us for 15 minutes. Other people were just walking up and ordering drinks and getting served when we were waiting. So we left without purchasing anything. Bartender seemed to want to socialize with her friends instead of waiting on new customers
Greg S — Google review
To start off, it is such a clean beach with great scenery. There are many activities to do and keep occupied. Under new ownership, the service was AMAZING, helping to give us an experience that we couldn't have asked for.
Matilda L — Google review
Cool hangout location! Sloppy service though…. Overpriced drinks…. Food was good, but missing food on orders and bartenders need some training. Drinks were not made correct. Maybe reduce the menu to more simple drinks in the meantime.

beautiful area! food kiosk was down when we were there, and a child’s birthday party took over the area where i was sitting with no warning. I think the building could use some updated signage and fresh paint, but overall it was nice!

We just spent a week staying at a cabin at the Tiki Beach Resort. This place is a slice of heaven. The beach is amazing and perfect for children. The sunsets were magic. Cabins were clean and well managed. A perfect relaxing family getaway. We will be coming back again!
Jenna G — Google review
This place is beautiful. It is very obvious that a lot of thought was put into everything that goes into it. There is a play area for kids (on the beach), a spot to wash off your feet after you're done, a Hammock to lounge in, some tiki tables, and some beach chairs on the shore. We will definitely be going back. Our son loved it. We got very fortunate and Dan, the owner, was around to check their food items for egg allergies. As it turns out, at least the fish and the fries were egg free. He makes sure to use a separate fryer for the cod/fish also. The drinks were a good/normal price at $3 a beer. They had Sprite (no starry). Personally, I hate starry. I think it's just watered down Sierra mist. Our son had fun on the beach, in the water, and he loved eating. It's not always a win with food for us. It was nice to have a win on all fronts. They also do weddings and events here and the hall is beautiful. They put a lot of thought into their fixtures, flooring, and paint. It all blends beautifully. The wood in the banquet hall is uneven, just be careful.

Came on a Monday and was a little disappointed that the resort doesn't have floats anymore. My son was so excited about going and he was let down. With the tube's being gone. The beach was clean, but didn't stay long because of the chilly weather.

Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium is a superb 5,500-seat baseball arena that serves as the home ground for Wisconsin Timber Rattlers minor league team. Beyond its primary purpose, this field has the potential to be utilized for various other events. Despite soaring temperatures reaching nearly 90 degrees, finding a shaded area under the main stand was hassle-free. The stadium's cleanliness is highly commendable; even the restrooms are immaculate.
Great place to bring your family. They have birthday kids that throw out the first ball. Silly games during intermission and flying objects into the stands from t-shirts to tires, to even bratwurst. At night they have fireworks. Very nice team store and reasonable prices except for this little bitty 1 x 2 1/2 packet of sunscreen if you forgot yours. That was $3.00 and it wouldn't cover my granddaughters one leg much less two, so don't forget the sunscreen.

It was a very fun experience. It was my first Minor league game. The TimberRattlers won, so we all went home happy. The stadium is nice and clean, the staff is very friendly I guessed the attendance correctly when they asked on the screen. We had a very good time. 10/10 would recommend going.

I took a group of 15 people to a ballgame here and it was great. Plenty of parking, friendly staff. We had seats just dehind the visitor dugout, and everyone said it was really close to the field. At the concession stand we had a little bit of a wait, but I'm fine with that because they make your food after your order. The food was hot and delicious. Prices are very affordable. I would definitely recomend this venue to anyone, and I will do this again my group.

The Hearthstone Historic House Museum, formerly known as the Henry J. Rogers House, is a remarkable 19th-century residence in Appleton, Wisconsin. It was the first house in the world to be powered by a centrally located hydroelectric station using the Edison system. Today, it has been transformed into a museum that offers guided tours and exhibits showcasing its historical significance.
First visit. Such a great experience! We took the traditional tour around the museum during the Holidays, the house is decorated so beautifully with Christmas ornaments. Truly beautiful no matter where one looks. Our guide Lori was wonderful, she is very knowledgeable and threw in fun facts during the tour. Each room has its own charm and the history of the house is very interesting. The staff is also very friendly, we had a great time from beginning to end!
Denisse L — Google review
Our family had a truly wonderful experience at the Hearthstone Historic House Museum. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the beautifully preserved architecture and the rich history inside the home. What really made the visit exceptional, though, was our tour guide, George. George was absolutely phenomenal—knowledgeable, engaging, and incredibly patient with our four boys, who had a lot of questions. He answered every one of them with kindness and enthusiasm, turning the tour into a memorable learning experience for all of us. His passion for the history of the home and the people who lived there really brought everything to life. We were very impressed with the museum itself—each room is carefully curated and full of fascinating artifacts. If you’re in the area, we highly recommend a visit. It’s a gem of a museum, and if you’re lucky enough to have George as your guide, you’re in for a real treat.

We did the tour of this house today....and are so happy we decided to stop by. Our tour guide was very friendly, and she knew so much about this place. This house is incredibly beautiful, and you can tell that a LOT of love and care went into building and restoring this beautiful example of high end late 1800s homes. The story behind this house is worth the tour alone, and getting to actually walk through it was a real treat. If you find yourself in Appleton, and have a couple of hours to kill, we definitely recommend stopping by and taking the tour....it is totally worth it.

We were recommended to visit from our friend and realtor Marissa Miller. We purchased our tickets online about an hour prior to our start time. George welcomed us immediately and was so friendly! Our tour guide Juli was phenomenal! She was just as welcoming and kind as George and did a great job! So much history to learn not only about the house but also Appleton as a whole. Highly recommend stopping in if you can!

For fans of true crime and history who crave something unique this is, without question, the best interactive tour available. If you want a tour that respects the subject matter while delivering a truly unforgettable, top-tier event, you must go to the serial killer tour times. The entire experience is thrilling. Easily one of the best experiences of our lives so far!! I loved it and he loved it!! You all did so good 🥰🥰🥰🥰 our young detective was eccentric in all the right ways perfectly fit for his role! As well as everyone else but I don’t wanna spoil it for you!

What an amazing place. The tour states that it's about an hour, but you could tell how in love the house and the history our house was, and th tour was about an hour and 45 mins. Every detail of the house is preserved and it's fascinating that through varied ownership how much remained original. Even though the items displayed aren't specifically original to the house it's all time period correct, and donated from locals to showcase their respect for the house. Room to room there is so much to see in every corner. Our guide knew every knook of the house, gave time for photos, and really wanted to ensure each member on the tour had time to appreciate the environment around them. Entry was around 12$s per person and I saw comments saying it was pricey in some reviews. You can't eat at Burger King for that price, or see a film. This is well worth the money but knowing it preserves such a beautiful landmark is more than enough for the asking admission.

Beautiful, well kept historic property! The guided tour was very nice and we gleaned a lot of information. I recommend this highly to history lovers. There are also hands on exhibits for youngsters at the end of the tour in the basement.

Absolutely stunning interior. Can't get over how beautiful it was. Perfect location. There's plenty to do within walking distance if you don't want to wait for the parking ramp traffic to subside. Only complaint is there was nowhere to purchase a bottle of water during a graduation ceremony. You'd think they'd make a lot of money if they sold water bottles, soda and simple concession items.
Brittaney M — Google review
We came to watch Beauty & the Beast. While the musical was amazing. I was very disappointed in the fact that we didn't have much time to use the bathroom and there were lines and then come to find out, if we didn't get to our seats before they closed the doors we would have to wait until they deemed it was ok to let us back in. I understand that is for the other patrons but for the price you charge, I would expect a bit more courteous behavior towards the customers. The prices for water, wine and snacks are OUTRAGEOUS. Make sure you eat beforehand.

Great venue, all seats have a good unobstructed view of the stage. Lots of parking, bars and restaurants within a short walking distance. Really good acoustics to. Only down side that I see is wheelchair access is very limited. So be sure you specify this when you buy tickets.

Loved it! Easy parking right across the street, great seats no matter where you sit, workers were friendly & helpful, line for drinks & bathroom at intermission moved quickly, prices reasonable. Had a great time. Can't wait to come back!

First time at this venue, & the Killer Queen Experience was an incredibly amazing show! Only negative was the endlessly long rows of seating (we were directly in the middle, front row, 1st balcony section). It was a long way to inch through the multitude of people seated to get to our spots. Once there, we didn't dare try to get out, so we were stuck for the duration, unable to leave for a drink or bathroom break. Very clastrophobic feeling. Never again, would I purchase tickets in similar seats. A break in the middle area for access out would make show-goers much safer & more comfortable.
