Museum of the Red River

Museum
Specialty Museums
The Museum of the Red River is a captivating destination for history enthusiasts and families alike. As you meander through its winding halls, you'll encounter an impressive array of artifacts that span from prehistoric times to contemporary pieces, showcasing the rich artistic heritage and contributions of Native Americans. While much of the collection features items from around the globe, there are also local historical exhibits that provide insight into the region's past.
A wonderful museum, I highly recommend visiting! So much history and artifacts from all over the world. They have a massive collection of woven baskets. There are some fun, interactive things for the kids
Ashlie D — Google review
The Museum of the Red River is a great place to get some history of the area. The museum is somewhat winding with a lot of rooms with exhibits. There are many exhibits and I recommend that you use a paper guide which they furnish to get around. The majority of the exhibits are not local but there is a lot of history with those. There is some local history and exhibits but not much. There is a child's activity room where they can color and also a section where the children can weave a rug or place mat. Admission is free as well.
Santos G — Google review
The collection of artifacts in the Museum of the Red River is impressive. It is hard to believe that admission is free. If you enjoy history, archeological finds, and art, go visit this place. Highly recommend it!
Diane W — Google review
The trip was enjoyable, and we appreciated the opportunity to explore new places. Some of us chose to relax near the water, which was quite refreshing. The curated museum provided a fascinating glimpse into history and culture. We all had a day filled with diverse activities. It was a lovely experience overall, allowing everyone to pursue their interests.
Cody B — Google review
Very cool and informative museum. I hope they grow and expand. Some really neat pieces. The kids of course loved the dinosaur skeleton.
Chatfield I — Google review
The only gripe I have was the drum that is there for the kids to pound on. On the flip side it was interactive for the kids to have some hands on learning tools. There is a whole big room dedicated to hands on learning aimed at the youngsters and I actually enjoyed that as much as the more serious stuff. Overall a cool collection of local artifacts as well as pieces from donors from all around the world. The gift shop has some neat stuff, and for a free museum we definitely bought souvenirs to give back.
Jim B — Google review
Lots of arrowheads and different tools that were used back then. Very cool dinosaur area and the kids/family area had more dinosaur stuff. 🦕 They had a lot of items like beadwork and pottery and a gift shop with mini versions of some of the museum items.
Chelbie W — Google review
Very nice (free) well kept museum showcasing Oklahoma heritage along with many items from around the world.

Atlanta State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
Park
Destination with a sprawling reservoir for fishing & boating plus campsites & miles of trails.
Just wrapped up a 2 night stay for Labor Day weekend. We were at site 38 in the Wilkins Creek camping area and were tent camping. Our site was spacious and clean (it is adjacent to one of the trails so if people walking right up on your site makes you uncomfortable, choose a different site). The shower house was clean with 1 shower stall (curtain not door) and 2 toilets. We notice that park officials drove by quite often which made us feel very safe. The staff was super friendly. They helped us get checked in quickly and were helpful with renting kayaks. While we were there, the store had a trailer of firewood to use for a small donation to the park. Kayaks were affordable and in good condition, for the half day rental, we were able to explore the cove near the boat ramp and do some fishing. If you do the Arrowhead trail, I recommend a packable chair to sit and enjoy the lake views! All in all, this is everything I look for in a park. It was clean, safe and well maintained. Trails are clearly marked and the swimming beach looked nice, though we did not spend time there. The only thing I wish there was more of is access to the lake for bank fishing. There really is only one main area near the boat ramp. There also is not ice available at the camp store, which would have saved us a trip into town.
Christy J — Google review
A little small, but great location. Trees bigger than anywhere else in Texas. When I was there it rained the whole time, but I can't count that against the park. The office was closed when I wanted to see the gift shop. Overall, definitely recommend!
Tom G — Google review
I 100% agree that this is a peaceful Texas State park. There were plenty of campers, but it wasn't crowded by any means. The hiking was good as well. The only thing I didn't love was that it was super buggy out. However, that comes from being outdoors, in general. It may have also been that it was July, lol. I generally don't visit state parks in the middle of the summer. Overall, I enjoyed my visit.
Kaitlin B — Google review
This is a nice park on a huge lake! Trees were beautiful. Day use area was large and right on the lake. Plenty of picnic tables out by the lake and also nestled by the trees. Large covered tables area. Sand volleyball court. One of two boat ramps closed when we were there.
Kay L — Google review
The rangers were very nice and helpful. It was a very small park. I'm glad we went, however we probably wouldn't go again. The trails were extremely short and you could tell they weren't visited often. Some of the trails didn't lead anywhere they were one way so you walked back the way you came. It was very beautiful and I'm glad we visited. The swimming area was small and not the most naturally enticing.
Yvone M — Google review
Had such a fun time coming out here with friends!! The sky was clear and could see all the constellations. It was on the cooler side since we did go back in March. I'm hoping to come here again and be a little bit more prepared with some warm sweaters to stay out longer looking at the stars.
Nohemi G — Google review
This park is amazing! Honestly I’m sad we’d never heard of it before we went for 4th of July, but I’m so glad we did. The women in the office were so knowledgeable, and extremely helpful since this was our first time camping in Texas. If you haven’t been to this park yet, you need to go. A real Texas must see destination for sure! Quiet, serene, clean, lots to do, and just close enough to a city if you forget something you can drive to a Walmart in a reasonable amount of time. We only explored maybe half of the park, so we will be back to explore the rest soon.
Maddy W — Google review
Well when I got here at night time was a little difficult to find the campsite once I got there the campsites are very clean well-organized and with amenities it's great also went to the lake right next to it which you have access to through the campsite and it was really nice. Plenty of camping space as well and they are very comfortable with you setting up music and lights in your area!

Music City Texas Theater

Performing arts theater

Perfect size venue, not a bad seat in the house. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience there, can't ever go wrong with Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives! We would love to come to another concert there!
Sharon M — Google review
The leadership does not care about music in any way. Merely trying to keep their narcissistic glory days alive. Tried many times to bring more modern Christian bands in here and always shutdown. Don't even get started on helping the community. That being said there has been some fun artists in here; and many of volunteers are some great people trying.
David W — Google review
Excellent size venue as there's not a bad seat in the house! We went to see Asleep at the Wheel and thoroughly enjoyed it. We will definitely be back anytime they have someone we want to see & it's over 3 hours from our house.
Tami W — Google review
A hidden gem of music history in Linden,Texas. Walk this up and coming town and meet the friendly people. Outstanding performances here at the Theater.
Dave S — Google review
Superb music, reasonable cost for tickets. You can bring in your own drinks which we didn't know but will take advantage of next time. The only improvement would be more comfortable chairs.
D. G — Google review
Fabulous venue that doesn't have a bad seat in the place. Every show is great. Wonderful sound. Jackson Browne, Marty Stuart, Bellamy Brothers, Robert Earl Keen, Asleep At The Wheel, Hickory Hill, Don Henley, Steve Earle, and many more have played here.
Holly B — Google review
Excellent! We've seen Guy Clark, Charlie Robison, Chris Knight, and tonight The Bellamy Brothers. Every show was GREAT! I love that my hometown has some great artist play here, and Linden makes it possible for the locals not to have to drive hours away to hear great music!
Wendy L — Google review
I love this place! We've been in this facility 25+ times to hear fantastic music, up close and personal, as it should be. Thank you, Linden and MCT. Keep the great singers/songwriters/musicians coming.

Sweet Shop USA

Chocolate factory
Shopping
Gift & Specialty Shops
Absolutely lovely chocolate shop! The entrance is surrounded by this beautiful bed of flowers and shrubbery that creates a tasteful atmosphere right on arrival. The initial smell of the store is DELIGHTFUL, very sweet and pleasant, and not overpowering. The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming, they do a great job of offering helpful deals and helping with any questions you may have. And the first time you come, you get to choose an item from the cabinet for free! It's very quaint and nice. Fair prices, as well.
Jameson S — Google review
Such a very pleasant and delicious experience! We visited on a Monday afternoon and got to sample a few things before buying. There is a large section of reduced price items and the gifts the store offers is plentiful. The employees were extremely nice and friendly. They do offer tours if scheduled ahead of time.
Shauna B — Google review
Sweet shop was an adorable place. My Father and Mother in law told us about it. Really nice shop. Interesting variety of different candies and chocolates that are made on sight. They also have souvenirs. The truffles are especially delightfully delicious. The reason why we went but we left with, much more than truffles. Garlic pickles. Different bbq sauce. Clothing. Unique Dip bowls. Definitely recommend. Very nice experience and prices are low and high so it's something for everyone.
Craig A — Google review
When we heard about Sweet Shop we decided to take the tour of the factory. Michael Moss, owner, was our personal guide. We felt we were touring with Willie Wonka. It was a very interesting tour. The employees were very friendly all through the factory. It was intriguing to see the candy makers mix and decorate with hands. You could witness the passion of candy making. The chocolate is the best we have ever tasted. We could not leave without taking some home-should I say a lot. So difficult to decide on what to purchase. Thank you Michael for an excellent educational tour!! Mike and Sharon
Sharon D — Google review
This is the best little shop!! They have every sweet your heart could long for. I love how festive their items are around the holidays!!
Elizabeth Z — Google review
I was deeply disappointed with the quality of this box of chocolates, which I received as a gift. The mint-filled candy was particularly unpleasant, with an off-putting texture and a soapy, perfumed flavor that made it inedible. Even discarding the filling didn’t improve things—the chocolate itself was of shockingly poor quality. Overall, this was an incredibly underwhelming and unsatisfactory experience.
Мария М — Google review
Love taking tour! The shop is beautiful, many candy selectoons
Mary W — Google review
I recently received a box of the chocolates as a gift which I one and it was absolutely delicious. Well the second one I took a bite of tasted like soap! I had my husband taste and he said the same thing. I don’t know if this is just the type of chocolate but it was not good and I’m actually afraid to try the remaining 2.

A great theater for how low the cost is I have been going here as long as I can remember. Great place 👌
FLU — Google review
Got to see the stitch movie sat next to the front left speakers, pretty loud but I'd rather have it loud than too quiet.very great screen quality and the prices!!!? I've never seen anything that cheap! This place beats cinamark 14 for sure.i live in roach texas so it's about a 40 minute drive but I'm spending gas money going to texarkana AND paying for tickets and everything. Overall 50 bucks there but here all I need is a 20! Amazing place definitely recommend. Tho...they kinda need to have a line going instead of the whole entrance filled with people it's pretty chaotic and takes forever to get food and drinks...but very great place! Will be coming here alot more often!🖤🫶🏼

Daingerfield State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
Park
Paddle boating on a lake, plus ranger programs in a lush forest with trails, wildlife & campgrounds.
This was a wonderful park to stay at. Site 26 was the perfect spot. Close to the restrooms and showers, far enough from the water for less bugs but close enough to go for a short walk to see the views. Tons of benches throughout the park to stop and view the scenery. The swim beach was clean. The bathrooms very very clean and very modern. The park staff were very nice and accommodating. Would return.
Lily C — Google review
Nice small and well shaded Campground. Pull through sites in Little Pine section are relatively level and sewer hookups with 50amp service is nice. Other section is too tight and low...better for tents only. Some 1930s history remains.
Drew P — Google review
We enjoyed our glamping adventure at this park. Nice walking trail around the lake; clean and well maintained park. The pull-through RV sites are a bit snug for a big rig, but it is understandable and expected at CCC campgrounds.
Oleg R — Google review
I love this park .this park had trails you can walk. Kayak and canoes and pattel boats to rent and just in case for forgot your life vests the have some you can use during your visit. The swim area always has happy people playing in the water or playing volleyball or just sitting on the grass or under the big trees for shade. They have some free-standing grills if you want to do a bit of cooking while you're visiting at some of the picnic spots . The place is amazing for taking pictures. They have different learning experiences for adults and kids alike throughout the year, and the website is kept up to date so you can keep up with all good stuff going on .
Wilma S — Google review
The park rangers were super nice! The bathrooms were dated but pretty clean as far as camp grounds go. The park is beautiful and Gods artwork in nature is beautiful. We had a wonderful picnic next to the lake and it was so peaceful.
Sabrina R — Google review
Small but mighty! It's a smaller State Park but the views are incredible! We are too early for the Fall colors but that didn't even matter, everything was still beautiful! Loved it!
T M — Google review
It was built in 1935-1936. Remodeled in 2011. It will be the camping experience that you allow it to be. Most of the slips are backward to most RV campers. However, with a little creativity, you can make your spot really choice. Deer, rabbits, squirrels, and a wood thrush will keep you entertained.
Bruce P — Google review
This is such a serine and beautiful park. Great place to bird watch, hike, and go swimming. We stayed in cabin 2. It was a short walk from the lake, with beautiful view of the trees. The cabin has a bathroom with a shower. Toilet paper was provided. You have to bring everything else, linens, towels, cooking utensils. Kitchenette has 2 electric burners, coffee maker, microwave and a fridge. The cabin was well maintained and clean.

The selection is excellent with all of their fruits and veggies. We love the peaches most of all! Don't forget to grab some fresh made ice cream before you go!
Les G — Google review
A walk back in time . A smell of fresh produce inherits your nose. It was a wonderful experience seeing the ground the Lord gave us produces such life. The antiques are so extravagant. You literally don't know what to examine first. The old and many antiques, the many different produce, or run to grab some fresh fruit ice cream. So upon visiting the Land mark of Pittsburgh make sure you are not in a rush. They have so many other things to talk, about I could go on forever. I must say go visit for yourself and enjoy
Nolan D — Google review
Great little place!! Loved the cool items to walk around and view, neat little farmers market, beautiful orchards and flower fields! The plums and grapes we got were not quite ripe yet but good. The only downfall is I wish there were more fruits/veggies and some prices were a bit high.
Ca P — Google review
A memory in time. Too many antiques to look at and shop for vegetables at the same time. Fresh fruits and veggies and homemade ice-cream to boot.

Best brunch place around, food is delicious and great service, Charles is amazing and very friendly. Came here for my 60th, stayed at thier sweet little cottage, called the Blue Bird. Come here about every other weekend for brunch. A very relaxing experience.
Janice S — Google review
Saw good reviews and thought we would give it a try. Very disappointed. Just gross. The food was not good. We overlooked the fact that our appetizers and entrees both were served at the same time and the bathrooms were out of order. Had chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes that tasted like they did not have any seasoning and the steak was hard to chew and tasted like grease. Another in our party had the Guapo Pizza and the meat on it tasted like it had gone bad. Another in our party ordered Ribeye steak and it was bland and full of fat and gristle. Cheese Toes appetizer was just greasy and made from low quality ingredients. The only good thing was the shrimp skewers appetizers- but nothing to write home about. As pictured, we ended up not finishing our food and for an overpriced $140+ meal that is a shame. Restaurant didn’t seem to care that the meat in the pizza was possibly bad- just said “I will let the kitchen know.” Poor quality ingredients. Really sad.
R B — Google review
Great wines, food and atmosphere. Hidden gem. Great patio area. Got the red wine flight, El Guapo pizza and finished with a turtle cheesecake. All things were excellent. I definitely recommend visiting and I will be back. I hear they have great music on certain evenings.
Jim S — Google review
2nd time here the food was average and seemed over priced 210.00 for four people And we only had cokes to drink They charge 3.00 per refill and glasses were wine glasses, so a small drink with refill 2x is 42.00 for 4 cokes when factor taxes and tip. We had three small pizzas, and a chicken fried chicken, and an appetizer and only 2 desserts Total was 210.00 The pizza was about what you would get at little Caesars and the serving was about 12-13 inches (small at any parlor). If it's all about wine and the atmosphere it's a good place, but if it's a family night out, this is 210+ for average food. The meal might have been nicer if the tables across from us and two tables over didn't. Bring their poodles that occasionally yapped. The setting is very nice, and there was a guitarist playing that had a raspy texture to his music, and played some original songs he wrote. He was a nice touch.

It has been a while since we visited, but I wanted to take a moment to write this review. Such a fantastic and beautiful place. We went for an early anniversary dinner together and we were very pleased. Our server was Tarryn, i think i got that spelling right, she was amazing. Very attentive, kind, sweet, helpful, upbeat, i mean this girl was great. The food was great, the wine was tasty and the service was perfect. Hard to not give this place 5 stars after that.
Nick H — Google review
Beautiful day to sit outside on the patio overlooking the vineyard. The food was delicious, especially recommend the cheese toes. I had the award winning Trebbiano wine. Delicious. Prior to lunch we sampled several wines, all of which were very good. The service was excellent, friendly and helpful. It all made for a very pleasant and relaxing lunch and we look forward to returning.
Linda H — Google review
This was the most beautiful place to spend time with my fiancé. We enjoyed a wine tasting in the tasting room where we had to take two bottles home that we loved! There was awesome live music that we enjoyed with our delicious food as well! We tried the Pig and Fig, the Tapas for Two, and the Creamy Cajun Chicken Pasta followed by some crème brûlée. We can’t wait to come back and explore the cabins and vineyard! 😁
Elizabeth Z — Google review
Enjoyed my visit with my mother! Beautiful weather to tour the vineyard. Great customer service, great food. We particularly loved the breaded asparagus and cheesecake. We also had the shrimp fries, Tuscan chicken and house salad! All wonderful dishes! Hope to return to celebrate family birthdays that are coming up this summer!

I am so happy to have this lovely little shop in my home town! The owner is very interesting to talk to and is always cheerful and friendly. The quality of every product is high and I am most impressed by the variety. I regularly find products that the larger stores in our region would have to special order! She carries items that I haven't been able to buy in person anywhere I've been and is always happy to special order anything she doesn't have. I can't say enough good!
Sarah A — Google review
Wanderful, I will be returning on a regular basis. The owner makes you feel like family, she is very informative and will to share her knowledge freely. Her herbs are fresh and she carries a wide variety. I made three passes through the store and was surprised on each pass at the variety. For me it is a 25 mile drive, but well worth it. If you are a person seeking natural alternatives or preventions do drop by. I think you will be glad you did. I know I am.

A darling little tea shop with a wonderful ever improving stock of oils, spices and herbs. I love this place! A shop unlike any other with a treasure of healthy insight and knowledge freely shared by the owner. The feeling when you walk in the shop is peaceful and exciting at the same time. There's an air of calm happy energy. She always has a tea of the day to sample. The shop is stocked with spices like fresh peppercorn, Himalayan sea salt, Vietnamese cinnamon, Jamaican all spice. Lots of other great herbs and healthy foods like, Elder berries, nettle, Licorice root, Dandelion root, Candied ginger, oils like Frankincense, Lavender, Exhale, Thieves. My favorite area is the tea. The selection is abundant. She has organic teas, matcha tea, green tea, black tea , rooibos tea, herbal teas. Some of the teas are blended fresh in the shop and they are wonderful. All this to say you must go see it for yourself.

Great little boutique with fun offerings. I seem to come every year near the holidays. And, it’s a great store to find fun gifts. Staff is nice and helpful as well.

Very good place to buy stuff and also if you wanna do consignment, they do consignment there. You can bring in your gently used clothing and they’ll pay you for it later when it sells and you can also buy some good stuff at great prices.

Hubby bought cigars in there on a recommendation from someone but the cigars were very dry and fell apart. But they have nice things in their store but maybe they should not sell cigars........

Pricey, but unique and fun finds every few visits or so. Not so much their clothes, but that’s just my opinion. Plain, maternity like clothing for a stupid amount of paper. Wall decorations are the best. Just gotta be there at the right time!

Main Street Antiques & Beauweevil's is by far the most accommodating shop. They are very friendly & helpful finding the perfect and unique item. Most of my house is filled with great finds from this shop. Be sure you have plenty of time to shop, this place has so many vendors and they all take pride with their booths. Highly recommended!

I have found so many things I have been looking for all right there. Love the place
Wendy G — Google review
While I appreciate all NE Texas small businesses, and we always shop local merchants, this place is not accommodating to cash or credit paying customers. Buyer beware of no/non-customer service and negative attitude towards non local transactions. Terms seem to be on their terms, not a mutually understanding of customer and merchant transaction. Avoid this place.

This quaint little shop offers a wide variety of unique items. I’ve purchased a number of items from here over the years. They accept cash and cards and are very good to wrap the fragile items. Friendly local shop owners.

This is the best antique mall in Winnsboro. There are over 40 vendors that bring their lovelies to the shop for others to purchase and enjoy. Great gifts and collectibles. I shop frequently due to new items are being brought in daily!

This store looks small from the outside, but it has lots of delightful displays to offer on the inside! The owner has maximized the use of the space and has filled it with wonderful things to enjoy! Everyone should be able to find something they like here!

Nice selection of items and a very cozy place to peruse through antiques at your leisure. We found an old license plate that will match our decor in our camper that we just had to get! Will definitely be back next time we're in town.

The first official summer weekend getaway was one for books ! We had sooo much fun ziplining and battling it out in the water obstacle course . We definitely plan on coming back to stay a few days in one of the cabins there. If you haven't been here then you're missing out on making some unforgettable memories ! It's a 10/10 Highly recommend for me 😁👍🏾

Yesterday my family and I had a GREAT TIME at Thomas Falls. We went for the water zip line, but they had so much more planned for our adventure. It’s a beautiful property, and everyone is so friendly. Not everyone in our group could swim, but they kept us safe so that the non-swimmers could still participate in every event. We will be returning next month with a larger party!

Absolutely loved the zipline course they were fast and alot of fun. It's great that there is a covered pavilion to take a break at and get a cold drink. The maze and gravity barn to get to the 3rd zipline was cool. The guides here are great and do a great job as well. The harnesses are pretty comfortable, the wood block handbrake they have for you to use on 3 of the lines works well in addition to the guide stopping you at the end. Old shakey zipline is fun as hell to go down. We will definitely be coming back and doing some of the other activities offered here, especially the water ziplines.

On March 16th, I brought to you a family of Ukrainian refugees who have never been zip-lining. Before coming there I made a reservation over the phone with Tina. I told her that the youngest child is 35 pounds and asked if he would be able to ride in tandem with his dad. Tina said yes (the tandem option is also clearly listed on the website). When we arrived the owner of the place (an older guy who never introduced himself) said that tandems were not safe and you did not do them. If I knew that from the start we would have never come there in the first place. So there we were at 6 PM having driven 30 minutes with the smallest member of our party of five not being able to have fun. The owner said that the boy could ride by himself but he was too scared so he ended up watching his family have fun for an hour. The owner did let the older girl ride one of the lines two extra times but it was hardly a reasonable compensation. I did not want to make a scene in front of the family but the whole experience was not good. I did not leave a negative review right away but emailed you directly instead to give you a chance to make it right. Why are you telling customers one thing (both over the phone and on the website) but when they arrive you tell them something totally different? If the owner thinks tandems are not safe, why is it even an option? I received a call the next day from a lady who made excuses about the negative experience. Neither the owner nor the lady I spoke to the next day (cannot remember her name) ever apologized. She just offered to refund the little boy's fees. I agreed and said that a check in the mail would be fine. It's been exactly two weeks and I did not receive an apology or a check. So, we were lied to twice. What a shame! P.S. While we were there the owner treated the employees like they were his pets, whistling at them instead of calling them by name. It was very embarrassing.

I went out for a day with my brother-in-law and had one HELL off a time. It was wet the day we went out and the park decided it was a good day to give us HELL! LOL. I now have the bug and want to get my own Jeep. I can see how people get addicted and spend weekends out at the parks. It was just a plain ol good time! I have not been to many other parks so I can say say how this one stacks up or not, But I can say that the staff was super friendly and the bathrooms were well maintained!

Great park for offroading your OHV. Facilities are always being improved. Park allows multiple styles of camping from full hook ups, electric only and primitive spots. Open weekends starting on Fridays. Check their website for events and you can reserve your camping preference in advance.

We absolutley live this place. Very friendly staff say hi to sandra's she's the best👌. Second time going. First time was dry spent 5 hrs out on motorcycles they have every skill level possible from easy to challenging. Second time was very wet didn't eat as much dust spent about 3 hrs. Out had a great time.spent 60 bucks for the whole year membership they have furnished cabins with showers air conditioning and stoves great for friends or family. I gave it 5 stars because alot of places have drunks and trash everywhere this is very clean. Try it out you'll love it and a membership isn't required.
Will T — Google review
We've been going here for years and years. Before there were all the improvements. There has been such a huge transformation from primitive camping only, when Porta potties were rare and no pavillion. We had to build our own picnic pavillion for our campsite. Now plentiful sturdy restroom areas, electric rv sites, picnic areas, cabins. Our DFW club has held large contests and activities with hundreds of trucks and families. We have attended huge Toyota truck events. The facilities generally keep up with the crowds and fun is had by all.
Rhonda M — Google review
This is our 3rd trip. We love it. Area is clean very fami,y oriented. Rocky terrain. Some mud. Beautiful trees. There is primitive camping if one desires more isolation.
Journey L — Google review
It's a miniature Mena Arkansas as a see it and we love Mena. I only wished the riding area was larger than 1850 acres. We like to do long day or two treks into the wilderness, but this is next best, you can still get a little lost if not careful. Camp practically anywhere, has top notch cabins, superb bath houses, 3-4 outhouses scattered evenly throughout the park. Free air station... A lot more, we were not disappointed. Make it your next trip and Get your ass there if you haven't already.

I would rate this winery 10 stars if I could! You should make a detour on your route to come here. We were staying on property via Harvest Host and had a wonderful place to park. We visited the winery near the end of the day on a Thursday and there were only a few people on the patio. The winery has an expansive and delicious wine list and FANTASTIC food! We highly recommend the yucca fires, risotto balls & fried mushrooms. We tried an assortment of wines (did a white and red flight) and went home with 4 bottles. Amber was such a wonderful host to us while at the winery. The property is very beautiful and peaceful and we had such a relaxing time on the patio. We are so glad that we made the stop and will definitely go again if we are in the area.

Our group of couples stumbled into pure bliss on our visit to Barrels Tasting Room at Enoch’s Stomp Vineyard and Winery. We claimed a spot outside, where a gentle breeze swept over us as we took in the rolling hills and tranquil pond—a view that felt like a warm invitation to unwind and savor the day. Truly- a picture-perfect setting that set the tone for an unforgettable afternoon. The food was a delightful adventure in itself. We kicked off with Enoch’s Charcuterie, a pretty spread of meats, artisan cheeses, fruit, and crackers with all the right accompaniments—simple, yet so satisfying. My husband's down-to-earth Pepperoni pizza came next, with its house-made marinara and melty mozzarella delivering classic comfort in every bite. Then there was the Bear Creek Smokehouse pizza (my pick), a delight with garlic butter, mozzarella, and gouda mingling with tender brisket and crunchy Bear Creek sweet-fire pickles that turned each slice into a party of flavor for the palate. I had a bite of my friend's Lucille—she always brings the elegance—white truffle oil, prosciutto chips, dried figs, shaved Parmesan, and arugula drizzled with sweet balsamic glaze that lingered just right. And our faithful, more health-conscious friends both had the Greek Chicken on Cauliflower Crust. I'm so glad that we all pizza swapped because that crispy perfection of a base, topped with bright basil pesto, grilled chicken, mozzarella, feta, black olives, and red onion, was a standout I really didn’t see coming. The wine flights—five tempting options—were a treat to explore. I found my favorite in the Dry Red Reserve flight. Each pour was rich and smooth, hitting all the right notes. My friends each raved about their own picks, every flight seeming tailor-made for their tastes. Rolf, our gracious host, surprised us with a taste of the Light Portejas, and we were smitten—enough to bring a bottle home alongside our other liquid souveneirs. Before we knew it, we’d spent more than four hours dining, sipping, and laughing, lost in the magic of good company and a place that felt like it was made for moments like these. Barrels Tasting Room is one of those spots that feels like a gift—great food, wonderful wines, and a setting that encourages rest and soothes the soul. It’s a gem we’ll be talking about, and returning to, for a long time.

I’ve been visiting Enoch’s for years. Every visit is spectacular. We just did a Winery Tour with Mark and he was wonderful. You can tell he loves his job and has a true passion. Food is always 10/10, Wine is 10/10, Views and experience always a 10/10.

We have been there for 3 wine tastings so far. We really enjoyed the ones Ron hosted for us. He knows so much about the grapes and wine from various regions. So it was quite a history lesson when he was our host. This time we had a different host and she was not as knowledgeable about grapes and wine. She was only able to tell us where the grapes or juice came from for the wine we were drinking and whether it was dry or sweet or fruity. If Ron is no longer hosting, we will probably go back to trying out other vineyards.

My husband and I entertained visiting family at Corks last week. The food was delicious. The view from the balcony was delightful, and the wine was great. But our mustachioed waiter ruined the experience with his neglect and rudeness. We'll think twice before ever returning.

Golf course

Golf course & lodge with 6 low-key guest rooms, plus a pub serving classic bar fare.
Beautiful golf course right on the shore of the lake fork. This was my first time playing here, and I loved it. To say it's a challenging course would be an understatement. Judging the wind coming of the lake was tough.

This is a beautiful and challenging course. The course is in great shape, the greens roll true and the fairways are very well kept.

This course is absolutely beautiful. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. The stay & play packages are the best value in East Texas golf. I 100% recommend playing this course, it's one of my favorites.
Zach Z — Google review
This is an absolute gem of a course. Situated along the shores of Lake Fork, with many holes along the lakeshore. Challenging holes and pin placements abound. Staff was very friendly and helpful, leading to a great experience, well worth the cost and drive time from Fort Worth.
Jason H — Google review
At the farthest tip of the course—hole 17, where the wind howls off the lake and the pine trees lean like they’re trying to run away—there’s a story the old groundskeepers don’t like to tell. A tale about a putter. Not just any putter. His putter. They say a man named Doyle Whitaker once played that hole every day for a year. Never missed a morning, rain or shine. Rumor was, he was chasing a perfect round, obsessed to the point of madness. On the last day of his life, he reached the 17th green with a score no one had ever seen. Just one putt stood between him and legend. They say lightning struck before he could take it. No one found Doyle. Just his bag, smoldering near the flag, and his putter… sunk perfectly into the cup. Not lying next to it. In it—as if the putter had made the shot on its own. Now, players say weird things happen at 17. Lost balls roll back onto the green. Putts curve the wrong way, or the right way—guided, they say, by Doyle’s ghost. And sometimes, just before dawn, when fog hugs the fairway and the dew hasn’t broken, you’ll see a lone putter standing upright in the cup. Gleaming like new. Waiting for one more perfect shot. But no one dares touch it. Not anymore. Because if you do… You might finish his game.

**A must play golf course**. I had a free GolfNow hot tee time credit so I booked a 1250 Thursday, Dec 26. Gotta love those GolfPass perks lol :) It was a 2 hr and 45 min drive from Weatherford. I got there and the course didn't seem to busy. Susan (super nice) checked me in and said I was okay to take off. I was 45 mins early so that was a bonus. Range balls are complimentary with your tee time. A little disappointed not to be paired up with other golfers. I always enjoy playing with others, it makes the round better imo. The course was in perfect condition. The greens were perfect and I loved the layout of the course. Wonderful lake views.Very peaceful round. I played my first 18 a little over two hours so I played another 9 holes. I would come back out in a heartbeat. Next time it will be a stay and play!! Thanks Links at Land's End!

This was my first time visiting and I have to say, a Christmas time visit is the best! So much history and the very best in Texas style story telling. The tour was amazing, I could have stayed here all day if time allowed. This experience is great for just adults or for the whole family. I was even able to watch them put together this incredible train set which was really special! Ok and I have it on good authority, on the third floor may or may not be a haunted coffin! Definitely make this stop when you can!

I'm not sure if you can receive a tour all throughout the hours, but requesting a time would help. It is 2 stories of artifacts that date back thousands of years up to the era of world war II. Great place to take kids or a date/family from out of town. Don't sit around and watch TV all day, go to the Gregg county historical museum (old citizens national bank built in 1910) and learn about the infamous Dalton gang!

Small but nice. Bathroom was very clean and spacious. This station doubles as a museum so there's plenty to look at while you wait for your train, which is nice since Amtrak has the habit of running late.

Well, I didn't explore the town at all, but it sure did look nice. I was actually there for a car show that happened today (9/24/2022) There was a lot of nice classics there plus others. Had I known that I could post pics here I would of. The town does have plenty of antique stores. Already looking into moving there....

I am really starting to hate amerikkka. Where has this greedy, all I want is money system gotten us. Amtrak literally charges more for seats when they have fewer available. Or as they fill up. From 900 to 1500 in less than 24 hours. I'm sure most don't see this as a problem but all you have to do is look around and see what's happening because we allow it. The seats should be the same price across the board regardless of how many seats are available. It's not called the beast system for nothing. And shout out to Nicole from the customer service line. Way to go sell out.

I come here to hit the nature trails and enjoy the gardens. The start of the Johnnie Bendy Trail is treeless for a few but once you get down into the thick of it it’s really nice and woodsy. This place is huge, the pavilion is nice and big with restrooms, the trails are awesome, love coming here in all seasons.

Such a lovely place to walk. If you have young children there is a great playground, fishing pond, picnic areas and restrooms. My grandkids really loved looking at the little garden area that was attracting butterflies bumble bees and even humming birds in early October. I heard a young lady telling her dad she cut her run short as she encountered an alligator.

Beautiful nature preserve park that is maintained by the city if Mineola. Nature trails are well preserved. Pack a lunch with your drinks to come here. Lots of picnic tables, but no concessions at this time. Bathrooms are under the pavilion, although they also maintain a Porto potty close to the playground. Not far off of hwy 69, would be easy to get too.

I've lived in the area all my life and have never been to the Mineola Nature Preserve, and boy, have I been missing out. I didn't have a whole lot of time, but with what I didn't get to see, it's a beautiful place, and I look forward to going back to experience more.

Always love my walking time here! They have clean nice trails, fishing, ponds, cool bridges, totem pole, nice restrooms, big play area, covered picnic area, cool windmill, beautiful wildflower & butterfly garden, archery, equestrian trails, disc golf course, bee hive & wildlife viewing stations, just to name a few things! They have 3 different pond areas, very nice covered pavilion that can be rented out, an amphitheater great for field trips or weddings, and equestrian area with parking for trailers. This preserve is so peaceful & beautiful no matter how many people are out there, it’s never too busy to enjoy it!
Tena C — Google review
Always one of my most favorite places to go so close to home! There is so many cool features about this preserve that you almost just have to visited your cell to see them all! There is something cool every season to see. The fact that it cost you nothing to get in makes it the perfect place for field trips, small day hikes, In a great place to take kids of all ages! Several of the trails are paved, well marked, & easy to walk on. When the water level is low you can see some of the old train bridge trestles still left in the pond! The rest of them you can see on the trail that takes you to saving the river. Incredible play area, covered picnic areas, disc golf course, equestrian trails, primitive camping, fishing, etc! Restrooms are super clean, & cold water fountains! Fun for all outdoor loving ages!

Mrs. Lee's Daffodil Garden

Temporarily Closed
Garden
Nature & Parks
We decided to drive out to see if Mrs. Lee's Daffodil Garden was open and so glad we did. It was a perfect day for driving slowly through the garden, with the windows down and the top open. The flowers were pretty, and even though most of the drive didn't have flowers, it was still a great day to be out. I will definitely go back again.
Lonnie S — Google review
Beautiful little drive to look at daffodils. The 4-mile road is dirt, extremely bumpy at times and it's a one lane road with, occasionally, oncoming cars. People tend to not follow directions and stop in the middle of the road, side of the road..Wherever so patience is truly a virtue here. There are three designated parking spots to stop and look at and walk around (not IN) the flowers. There's no charge as they run in donations therefore it's a great idea to bring some cash for your time .

Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary is a well-maintained wildlife refuge that offers natural habitats for rescued lions, tigers, leopards and other big cats. Visitors can enjoy seeing these beautiful creatures in their healthy environment during designated visiting hours and can even take advantage of the on-site cafe. The sanctuary serves as an important place for endangered animals to live out their lives and ensures a future for them that would otherwise be unknown. Donations to the sanctuary also help support the care of these animals.
We did a Tiger Creek tour with Shelby as our guide. It was an absolute great experience. We got a private tour with on other small group. I highly recommend going on a tour and getting to see the beautiful cats. The cats were out and it was such a nice experiences for both adults and the kids! Shelby was absolutely amazing!

We had a nice tour of the place. We were able to get so close to the animals, it was so neat! Hearing a lion calling its pride was an unreal experience. Our guide was knowledgeable and it's good to see they care for these animals who otherwise would have been in much worse places. Thank you for your work!

My family LOVED our visit to Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary! We went on a Thursday afternoon, and it was a private tour because we were the only family there at that time. Autumn and Madison were the BEST tour guides ever! I believe Autumn was our main tour guide, and Madison (who had been recently hired) was accompanying us as well, just to get a feel of how to conduct a tour. Well, the tour was 10/10. It was a hot, Texas Thursday afternoon, but my family did not even mind because of how great the tour was. They showed us all of the tigers for sure, but they also have 2 lions, monkeys, tortoises, a pig, fancy rats (in the main office) and armadillos (among other very interesting animals). Autumn was patient, explaining to us how each animal arrived at the sanctuary, each animal's known history and other interesting facts about each animals. I liked that she did not merely rush us through the other animals just for us to see the tigers. You can tell Autumn and Madison are truly passionate about their work at the Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary, and they wholeheartedly care about every animal and want the best for each creature. We would not hesitate to visit again, by the end of the tour we were absolutely fascinated and felt like we got to know each animals personally. Book a tour, you will not be disappointed!!

My husband and I, along with our 11 year old granddaughter, had a personal, guided, walking tour of the sanctuary on 8/7/25, a hot Texas Thursday! Autumn and Madison were amazing! They guided us through the park, at our own pace, answering ALL of our questions about the various animals. (There were other animals besides tigers!) We learned so much! They also shared stories of how many of the animals arrived at the sanctuary...some were heartbreaking. We could clearly see their LOVE for these creatures and this place! The animals appeared well loved and cared for, and their containment areas were very clean and thoughtfully fitted especially for their specific needs and desires. It is a very worthwhile use of your time and money! After our tour, our granddaughter also loved purchasing a stuffed tiger in the gift shop. We highly recommend a visit and a donation!

Our guide Autumn was amazing and patient with the kids. She was sweet and interacted with the tigers so we could see the tigers and explained the safety measures they use. She knew all of the animals personally and told us their preferences and dislikes so it felt like we got to know each animal there. The animals are well cared for and happy. It was a great experience.

Excellent! Everyone should visit here. Our guide was amazing, knowing all about the animals and their story, and how they care for them. It was a hot day and she even tried to get the tigers and lions to come out so we could see them. Amazing work they are doing, making sure the animals are well cared for and changing out toys so they don't get bored. The staff was very accommodating, friendly and professional. They even have a small gift shop with a variety of items.

I absolutely love this place and finally made it to prowloween!!!!! Watching an enormous tiger battle around a pumpkin like a house cat with a cat toy made my soul happy

We attended a private tour at Tiger Creek and we were unfortunately not satisfied. Our tour guide was very nice and informative on the tour. The entire tour only lasted about 10 minutes. While it may have been in the morning we were still upset with our tour. I am not sure why it lasted this long but we were told it should last about an hour and half but we ended up with ten minutes. But the park was clean and the tigers appeared to be well taken care of so it may be just our luck but we will not be coming back unless we hear of improvement.

I have passed this place many times and today was my first time to stop and visit this INCREDIBLE bit of history!!! I enjoyed taking my time looking at all the exhibits and visiting with the knowledgeable staff. The immersive style early 1900s walking museum was AMAZING! While I was there an elementary school was there full of smiles enjoying their best life! Definitely make time for a visit, you will not be disappointed! 😊

The museum is an excellent curation of memorabilia, interactive displays and life size replicas of the life and times when Kilgore folks struck oil. It was well worth the nominal fee and we enjoyed all of our 2 hour visit.

Tyler State Park

Nature & Parks
Tyler State Park offers a peaceful setting with a serene pine forest and a picturesque lake. Visitors can enjoy various outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, nature study, fishing, and biking on the available trail. The park is home to diverse wildlife including bold raccoons that may be attracted to food left out. Although the campsites are spacious and well-maintained, some may find the close proximity of the hiking trail less secluded than desired.
This is one of the best state parks we have camped. There are miles of hiking / biking trails with the most beautiful fauna and enormous trees. One of the trails goes around the lake. Although you can swim anywhere in the lake, there is a nice designated swim area with a floating deck. You can picnic in the grass and enjoy a swim. There are also watercraft rentals including kayaks, row boats, and paddle boats. The park store is nearby with a variety of camping items you may have forgotten, drinks, ice cream, and souvenirs. The area is so big and there are many areas to camp. The screened shelters are great. We will definitely return, and highly recommend.

Tyler State Park is such a gem! The park is beautifully maintained with lush greenery, plenty of picnic areas, and a serene lake that’s perfect for relaxing. The $6 entry fee per adult is very reasonable considering how well-kept everything is. I loved the swim area, and the option to rent kayaks and canoes at an affordable price made the visit even better. Great place for a day trip with family or friends – I’d definitely love to come back!

BEAUTIFUL state park!! All the facilities were well taken care of. The trails were well taken care of and the lake was incredibly clear! You could see turtles and fish down in the water! The playground was awesome for the kids. The bathrooms/changing rooms by the swimming area were about what you would expect. Abundance of picnic tables, and they were in good shape too. This place is a little slice of heaven tucked away in the pines!

Site LV211-nice FHU spot overlooking lake. Easy level even with 3 1/2” off on driver side- tongue 5” low. Couldn’t use awning (didn’t need it due to angle and dropping acorns (mini bullets). Driver side slide worked well with the alignment of the trailer on the asphalt. Had to be careful when backing due to a curve in of the asphalt to avoid dropping off. Wouldn’t have been able to open our awning due to tree on passenger side. Close to other sites but was quiet and great for an overnight traveling site. Overall very pleasant stay-quiet except for an occasional mini bullet drop (acorns). Would stay again.

Great place to bring the loved ones. Shelters, cabins ,tent and RV sites available. Fireflies at night, long hiking trails 200+ species of birds early morning songs sound amazing. Great fishing spot. Our whole stay required no mosquito repellent, wondered if this was because of the 100's of dragonflies or the dense beauty berry bushes located everywhere. Loved our stay here. Park rangers constantly patrolling the area was an absolute plus.

Tyler State park is only about 2 1/2 hours drive from Dallas and will get you into east Texas outdoors for a nice weekend camping getaway. There are tall pine trees and and a lake which offers canoeing and swimming. The bath house and store / patio are convenient and compliments the lakeside for visitors to have a relaxing stay. On a clear sky October, sunsets here are wonderful as you stroll along the banks of the lake.

We enjoyed a day pass. This is a beautiful, very well maintained state park. I was in awe of the gorgeous tall pine trees, oak trees and the many other variety of trees and vegetation. The lake was shallow and crystal clear. I could see my feet it was so clear. My kids had the best time jumping off the wooden dock in the lake. The trails, and the rocks and the boulders really stood out. Clean bathrooms/showers. Look forward to going back and renting a shelter or camping in a tent. Staff patrolling the area frequently, impressive etiquette from fellow campers. Happy place!

I love it! Great variety and reasonably priced. It's a really pretty store, I could see Miranda Lamberts personality all over the store. I want her cookbook and wish she could autograph it for Me. That would be so great and trust me, I would treasure it forever.

Cute shop if you are a Miranda Lambert fan. Lots of cowgirl boots, not my thing, but the shop had a variety of items for children, women, and home. I never bought anything for myself. Staff wasn’t overly friendly

Service was excellent and food was fantastic. Fairly wide ranging menu leaves one with many choices for apps, salads, and entrees. We had the Texas twinkies and was not disappointed. Entree for us was the chicken fried ribeye and wife had honey chipotle glazed salmon and was equally appealing. Strongly recommend the Pink Pistol Resturant.

I would have to say this store is absolutely amazing this is my second trip with my Girlfriend and every time she always smiles ear to ear. This time we had Emily and Wanda taking care of us they did a absolutely amazing job the were super nice and helpful. I sat at the bar while she shopped but they entered into a conversation that helped passed the time while she was shopping. If you want a great experience come here "We will be back SOON"..

This is a boutique filled with Miranda Lambert related clothing and accessories. There are tons of tee shirts in all colors, styles and sizes, along with jewelry, candles, and assorted mugs, glasses, etc. In the rear of the store is a tasting room for wines produced by Red 55 , a winery owned/operated by Lambert's parents at a local farm. This is primarily a ladies site, but it was fun looking around and tasting some wines. They also have flavored olive oils and balsamic vinegars from their farm. I didn't taste THOSE, of course, but some of the wines were not bad. But for quality wine, stick with your local store.

Amazing museum filled with so many artifacts regarding the New London school explosion in 1937, as well as the rebuilding of the school and subsequent reunions and memorials. Memorials. The museum is run by volunteers who are so well versed in the history as they have lived here all their lives and the tour was absolutely educational and very interesting. If you're at all familiar with the explosion, this is a must visit.
Dawn — Google review
This is an East Texas hidden gem! The museum is amazing, capturing the horror of that terrible day of Thursday afternoon, 18 March 1937. It wonderfully presents the school, the event, and life in the late 1930s. They have a great deal of high school memorabilia and items that reflect on early-mid 20th Century Americana. The greatest highlight to this place for me is the soda fountain! Yes--an actual, honest-to-goodness, working, operational soda fountain! For decades I've been looking to find a functioning soda fountain that served Coca-Cola. Our family visited a "soda fountain" in Galveston and what they meant was that the building/restaurant used to be a soda fountain--they had a regular machine found at most fast food restaurants, which was very disappointing. We were in New London picking up a package and was a little lost since Google and Apple Maps sometimes have difficulty with addresses. I pulled off the road right into their parking lot to make contact when I looked at the building and saw the words, "museum and soda fountain." I instantly looked for their hours and saw that they were opening soon. We made our pick up and headed back to the museum. A very friendly and hospitable volunteer greeted us and welcomed us in, showing us around the place. After going through the museum, we made our way back to the soda fountain counter. My boys were more interested in *this* part of the museum more than the museum itself. We sat down and all ordered Cokes. I didn't know exactly what I was going to get, but it was so much fun watching him pump the syrup into the classic-shaped Coca-cola green-tinted glass. I was so delighted and filled with joy as I took my first sip. They have Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Barqs Root Beer, and Dr. Pepper. They have cherry, strawberry flavors to tweak your drink. A drink includes one free refill. They sell Blue Bell ice cream and make floats, milkshakes/malts, and sundaes. They have meals for lunch with daily specials. If you're interested in history and nostalgia, you will thoroughly enjoy the London Museum & Cafe. At the time of this review admission to the museum is $5 for adults and $3 for children.

A friend took me here and I was not disappointed. The food is delicious. So very reasonably priced too. The special that day was meatloaf, and it was flavorful and delicious. They have the old kind of soda where they add the syrup to the carbonated water. It is so good and tasty. I didn't have time to visit the museum that I will next time. I had their pecan pie with bluebell vanilla ice cream and it was divine. We'll definitely come back and definitely recommend.

My sister and I visited New London because 3 of our grandmother's 1st cousins died in the explosion. Our trip was a quest to honor their memory. The ladies at the Cafe & Museum were gracious and hospitable. The museum was well done & full of info & photos. The Cafe food was delicious & we enjoyed a big helping of blackberry cobbler. Thank you!

A lot of History. My Grandparents lived closer by and when we'd go visit, my Dad and Mom would take me there, had a soda fountain in there and the best Dr Pepper's. It's still operating and I hope you all get to go and see the history it has

A small town in Texas that had a very tragic accident that happened in 1937 is chronicled in this museum. This tragic accident changed the entire world. The museum will take anybody who visits it to the day of the school explosion. You will not only see the aftermath, but you will feel what people felt in the town, the county, the state, and the entire world. This museum is very definitely a "must see". You will be moved.

The Goodman-LeGrand House & Museum, located at 624 North Broadway, is a historic landmark Civil War-era estate that has been transformed into a museum. Originally known as Bonnie Castle, this Greek Revival-style house spans nine acres and played a significant role during the Civil War. It was once a refuge for families fleeing the Union Army in 1862. Preserved in its classic style, the house contains original furnishings and offers visitors an intriguing glimpse into the lives of Tyler's early residents.
Was so nice. The ladies were helpful and knowledgeable; even about random questions. I love the items being 90% authentic. Will probably help out there on a volunteer basis if I'm able.

My daughter & I visited this museum on a short trip to Tyler. The museum docent, Sheila, was so very charming, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about the family, the home, its contents, and the history. We really enjoyed this quaint little museum and the treasures it contains, many over 150 years old!

Sheila is the person who greeted us at the door. She had a vast knowledge of the house and family. My wife and I stayed there a couple of hours, and let me tell ya, it was well worth the time! The house was beautifully done, and all of the artifacts are absolutely stunning!

Wow! The ladies who worked there were so sweet and knowledgeable. They allowed us to tour to the house and take our time. The history was so amazing. I posted a few pictures but there is so much history in that house you have to go see it for yourself. So much stuff to see. Admission is free but I encourage everyone to donate!

I don't usually tour historical houses but this was worth it. The folks were helpful and told me the history of the house. The house, I believe, is almost all original, as are the artifacts. Donations are accepted rather than an entrance fee. Worth the time? Absolutely. The town of Tyler? I was too early (March 3rd) for the roses and azaleas so didn't see anything else.

While my wife and I were visiting Tyler we went to see the Goodman - LeGrand Museum. The Lady that gave us the tour of the Museum was very nice, at that moment we were the only ones. The house was built in 1859 and everything in the house including Furniture, Clothes, Pictures, Painting and even the Wallpaper is original. Once she finished giving us the history of the Family and the House then on our own we would look at 1st and 2nd floor. She even told us that this House was the first house to have Electricity in the City of Tyler. The City of Tyler is a very nice place to visit. We are planning to go again soon.

This was an incredible experience. The house and all of its things are very well kept. Both of the ladies that worked that day, were inviting and nice. My tour guide gave me a wealth of information about the history of the house and those that lived in it and I loved it! 100 ⭐'s There are not enough amazing things I can say about this place. It's been far too long since I have felt satisfied with the money spent on an activity with my children. The staff were absolutely amazing!!! The ones that I spoke to and the ones who disappeared into the background and we're hardly noticed. Coming back to an area my child wanted to visit again and having a fresh clean slate to play with was the most awesome thing ever. I look forward to returning again and again. Thank you for such an amazing day with my family. I love you guys!! My kids loved the TV studio and the restaurant.

I am visiting my mom in Gladewater so I decided to bring my two boys here. It a very fun filled museum! Lots of activities for all ages. Here are things you should know if your planning to visit 1. Time. There is SO much to do, I could have spent about 2 more hours here 2. Space. It’s not a lot of space. Don’t bring a stroller in if you can help it, parking is limited. 3. Beware. When I visited there were several “field trips” going on at once. It really overloaded the place. But it didn’t deter me from going back. My kids really enjoy it.

The people at the front desk are very friendly, the gift shop is really cute and the movies at the planetarium are exciting and interesting. We like to visit here whenever we come to Tyler. My four-year-old kept wanting to know how they make everything turn. I told her we were on a spaceship. She wanted to go outside so I explained there's no air in space or on Mars and she would die. She had a great time wondering how it all worked. The kids film on Saturday with short about 25 minutes it's a 30-minute drive each way for us to go. They had other activities during the day but were spaced out by several hours. I think they could do a better job of scheduling events in order to make a day of it. I would also like to see two shows play together so it's more of an hour-long event. Otherwise it was great and we enjoyed ourselves.
