Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
Lincoln Park Zoo is a small, free zoo located near Lake Michigan in Chicago. It offers a diverse range of animal exhibits, including lions, primates, reptiles, and a children's area with an interactive farm exhibit. Visitors can observe snow monkeys relaxing in the hot springs of the Regenstein Macaque Forest and marvel at gorillas and chimpanzees in the expansive Regenstein Center for African Apes. The Pepper Family Wildlife Center features big cats separated by glass windows for safe viewing.
I always loved zoos since I was a kid but let me tell you this is the cleanest and the most beautiful zoo. Where do you get exhibits as well as beautiful gardens to sit in. I just LOVED IT! The boardwalk is so pretty, peaceful and relaxing. There are refreshments available to purchase on site. Parking is available for a price which is fine. If you find parking on the streets then that’s great too. Staff on the grounds are kind, courteous, and knowledgeable. Bathrooms are clean and so is the entire zoo. Plan a whole day to visit the zoo. There are lots of exhibits to see. I was there for at least 5 hours. Bring along water and snacks to eat. Kids will need strollers if your children are little. It’s is a huge zoo so make sure to plan the whole day well with food, drinks and lots of awesome energy! Have a lovely day! 😀

What a beautiful zoo, filled with a wide variety of animals! Admission is free for everyone. Exploring the entire zoo and all its sections will take at least 4 to 5 hours. The zoo features multiple observation decks and several areas dedicated to the same species. Some viewing spots are indoors, while others are outdoors, thoughtfully designed to comfortably accommodate large crowds simultaneously.
Ashish A — Google review
I love coming here. A great way to get steps in! There’s a stunning view of the city, and in the winter there’s zoo lights! Always have a great time here! It’s feee and super kid friendly. Popular spot for school field trips. There’s a cafe and plenty of places to sit and rest your feet if need be!
Marchele A — Google review
What a beautiful place to spend a weekend afternoon. This was my first visit to LPZ and would love to visit again. The place is massive so be prepared for a lot of walking. There’s so many different types of wildlife to see. On this particular day I only saw the lions and primates and a few other animals along the way. Though it was closed off I did get to see the Peoples Gas Pavilion (The Honeycomb) but think it would have been nicer had there not been so much brush and dead weed surrounding the area. Overall I think zoo is a great place to spend time alone or with friends and family.
T B — Google review
Great free city zoo. Took the train uptown and explored the entire park in just a couple hours. The lion and gorilla enclosures were so spacious and great. Loved seeing so many animals outside enjoying the crisp October air.
Chris W — Google review
Lincoln Park Zoo is fun. It is a joy. For anyone having grown up in Chicago, can you imagine having Lincoln Park taken away? Now consider it is next to Lake Michigan, can you see a better community without the lake? Well, Lincoln Park Zoo is woven into the culture of many communities, just like the lake is to the Great Lakes, which gives the shore its globally unique ecology. Yes, it’s free to attend! Praises in perpetuity to LPZ and all whom give the public access to culture through such magnanimous endeavors. Not even in imagination can I conclude an easy path for your scientific work, and public engagement to be easy for your mission. You are serving the nation across many disciplines. And if you are inclined to cycle Chicago to get here, the zoo is well appointed to force you to engage with nature. Because the trails are gripping the space between the sky scrappers and Lake Michigan. Having an iconic locale should be impact enough for a good day in Chicago. However, the predominantly brick architecture through the zoo is surprisingly equally positively jarring. It feels as if it helps to tell the story of where the zoo started, where it is, and where it is going. To my point, I do believe you, when you say you are helping the animals. Thank you.
M X — Google review
This Zoo has some good collection of Animals. They have a bunch of lions and some of them are interesting to watch. Each male lion has got multiple female lions to chill with. They have enough space for all the lions and the big viewing glass from inside the building allows visitors to enjoy a closer view of these amazing animals.
Khadeer K — Google review
Free zoo in Chicago with great atmosphere. We got there around 3:30 pm and saw the North side of the zoo before dusk. We had great timing. Heard the lions roar, saw the brown bears, heard the kookaburra laugh, and a giraffe. We hto there at Duke when animals were active and some were being fed. Left and the city lights were a great backdrop.

360 CHICAGO

Observation deck
Sights & Landmarks
Situated on the 94th floor of the John Hancock Building, 360 CHICAGO offers breathtaking panoramic views of Chicago and its surroundings. This iconic observation deck provides visitors with an opportunity to admire sweeping vistas of Lake Michigan and four neighboring states. Equipped with high-powered telescopes, guests can marvel at the cityscape from a height of 1000 feet, including a view of the Willis Tower. Additionally, audio commentary and educational displays offer insights into notable landmarks.
Great view, worth the money. Strong drinks and lots of places to sit up top. Elevator trip was quick and efficient. The Tilt ride the kids had fun on. There was a lot of great history in the lobby before the elevator ride. Only complaint would be the spider webs were getting really thick on the outside, but I am sure it’s not the easiest to clean. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Chicago, especially for the 1st time.
Jim A — Google review
Great views over the city, the tilt experience is well worth it. I went in 9.15am just after it opened. No queues, i paid on the door $57 all in, i didn’t pay for any fast track queue jumping, didn't need it. Was told if it was much later in the day or at the weekends it would be helpful. Staff very friendly and helpful. Some nice drinks at the bar
David F — Google review
360 Chicago offers one of the most stunning views of the city and Lake Michigan. Located on the 94th floor of the former John Hancock Center, it provides a full panoramic view of Chicago’s skyline that’s absolutely breathtaking, especially during sunset or nighttime when the city lights start to sparkle. The elevator ride is incredibly fast and smooth, and there are plenty of informative displays along the way that explain the building’s history and design. The highlight for most visitors is TILT, the glass platform that gently tilts outward from the building’s side — a thrilling experience for those who love a little adrenaline with their view! The staff are friendly, and the café and bar area make it easy to relax while taking in the scenery. Compared to the Skydeck, it’s often less crowded, which makes the experience more peaceful and enjoyable. Whether you’re visiting for photos, a date, or just to see Chicago from a new perspective, 360 Chicago perfectly captures the city’s beauty from above. Highly recommended for both tourists and locals alike.
Pipi C — Google review
This was so much fun!!! The building is super cool with so much to see about the city of Chicago. The experience was great. A little wait time here and there but overall worth every penny!! Must do if you are here! Best views from here and the Tilt was such a thrill. Don’t be scared, you got this!!! Also has gift shop and bars available ✨
Michelle P — Google review
We debated on this or the Sky Deck (Willis tower, I believe), and eventually settled on this because of the unique TILT attraction of the thing. The building was beautiful, and the views spectacular, especially being close to the coastline of Lake Michigan. We went in the morning (10 am) on a Saturday to hopefully avoid the crowds, and bought the "fass pass" entry to avoid lines and waiting. Turned out, for that time of day, these were definitely not needed... Oh well. Once up (the elevators are extremely fast, be prepared for your ears to pop!), we had photo opportunities galore, 360 degree views of the city of Chicago, and the glowing sunrise over the lake. I absolutely cannot complain about the views, and the photographers were very nice and helpful, and we got some great shots of our own as well. We did buy the photo package afterwards, as you cannot take photos in the TILT attraction itself, and there were a ton of digital photos included. Overall I was happy with the price of the package, but the quality of the photos was not as good as I would have expected (low res, small file sizes). As for TILT, it was fun, but it overlooked the south of the building, and as we tilted out, we really only were overlooking a small alley and some other building rooftops. It would have been amazing on the west side, over the main Michigan Ave, or the east side even, over towards the great lake. They tilt you out, and you have to hold yourself up on bars above the glass for 30 seconds, think of a static push-up, then they lift you for relief and repeat. I know at least a few people that could not have held themselves on the ride. Last thing, they have a cafe and bar, but we didn't participate in either (early morning, non-alcoholic drinkers), but the gift shop was cute and we spent some time and money there. The location is wonderful and we took a walk back following the coastline out to Navy Pier, pretty nice experience. In the end though, I wonder if I would have liked the Sky Deck a bit better? For the price to go up, ride TILT, and fast pass, we spent $66/pp, I would likely just pay for the ride up next time for the view, or try Sky Deck for $32.
Duane R — Google review
I had a good experience at Chicago 360, and the view was absolutely beautiful — definitely one of the highlights. The city looks incredible from up there, and the TILT attraction is a fun, memorable feature that adds a little thrill to the visit. It truly feels like an experience rather than just a viewpoint. That said, I do wish there was more to the overall exhibit. When you visit places like The Edge in New York, they provide a lot of information about the building itself — how it was constructed, what surrounds it, and how the design impacts the experience. That extra layer of storytelling makes the visit feel richer and more engaging. Chicago 360 is mostly about the view and the TILT, and I think adding more educational or immersive elements could make it even better. Overall, it’s definitely worth visiting for the scenery and the unique TILT experience, but there’s room to enhance the depth of the attraction.
Sirisha K — Google review
It was a unique experience going all the way up and seeing the city from such an incredible vantage point. I would recommend visiting during the evening or at night to enjoy the best views. It’s also a good idea to pre-book your tickets to skip the lines, especially on weekends when it gets crowded. Once you’re up there, consider purchasing the Tilt experience based on the crowd size, as the wait times can sometimes be quite long due to queues.
Sai R — Google review
Decent observation deck. We came at 9am and it was literally empty besides another couple. The views are good but it is quite limited for what you can do once at the deck with a picture booth section blocking off a part of the view and sadly the tilt was closed to us for some reason when we went which we would've liked to do.

Navy Pier, a former Navy training center turned iconic Chicago landmark, is a beloved destination for families and tourists alike. This 3,000-foot pier offers a vibrant atmosphere with carnival rides, diverse dining options, bars, and free entertainment such as live music and street performers. Visitors can also enjoy the IMAX Theater, the enchanting indoor Crystal Gardens filled with soaring palm trees, the Children's Museum, and breathtaking views of Lake Michigan.
We had a fantastic time at Navy Pier with the kids! The highlights were definitely the thrilling SeaDog ride (with incredible views) and the fun rides at Pier park like the Wave Swinger. The Ferris wheel is a classic for a reason ..great for a relaxed view of everything. Food-wise, we were all happy with the burgers from Salt... the kids of course loved their Ben & Jerry's ice-cream after.. FlyOver Chicago was another fun indoor activity that the kids enjoyed. All in all, a perfect family day full of great sights and fun, a must go..if you're visiting Chicago.

A Chicago Must-Do with Endless Energy Navy Pier is the vibrant, beating heart of Chicago's waterfront. From the moment you arrive, the welcoming and festive atmosphere is infectious. Its excellent location at the edge of Lake Michigan provides stunning, picture-perfect views of the city skyline. The pier truly has something for everyone. You can get out on the water with the many available boat trips, from serene architecture tours to thrilling speedboat rides. When hunger strikes, the excellent food options range from quick snacks to sit-down meals with a view. Beyond that, there are multiple activities to fill a whole day, from the iconic Ferris wheel and carousel to live entertainment and gardens. It's the perfect place for a fun-filled outing where you're guaranteed to feel the energetic pulse of the city.

This is a cool place. There are boat rides and kiddy rides. There are performances here and of course the big famous Chicago Ferris Wheel 🎡. I've been here many times and each time I was just more and more impressed. You can also just take a little walk around and there are eateries. There are slow boat rides and fast boat rides. This is just a great place. Parking is plentiful not like in New York where I come from. Really impressive wow wow wow!!!!
Boruch Z — Google review
Navy Pier truly captures the spirit of Chicago! Gorgeous lakefront views, great food options, and a lively atmosphere all day long. Perfect for a relaxing walk, photos, or just soaking in the city’s vibe. They also have music festivals every other weekend, mainly on Saturdays. There are river front cruises that board people from navy pier and take you through the city and show you the historical buildings of Chicago. There are well maintained restrooms. There are a couple of places to eat but you may find them a little pricy. Note: Saturdays are packed with people. Sundays are a bit quieter Weekdays are way more quieter unless it's a long holiday. No tickets required to enter the pier but for cruises and Yatchs you do need to buy tickets, which you can get online or in premises. In case you are taking the boat rides, plan ahead.
Monikongkana B — Google review
Navy Pier is always one of my favorite spots in Chicago. The skyline views, lake breeze, and energy here make every visit feel special. I stopped by around sunset and the entire pier lit up beautifully—especially the Centennial Wheel. The atmosphere was lively but still relaxing, perfect for a quick walk, photos, or just enjoying the city. Parking and entry were easy, and the wait time for activities was very reasonable. Highly recommend stopping by Navy Pier whether you're a local or visiting Chicago!
Premier N — Google review
Navy Pier is one of Chicago’s most iconic spots lively, beautiful, and full of things to do. From the stunning lake views to the Ferris wheel, shops, restaurants, and street performances, the whole place has an energetic and fun vibe. It’s perfect for a relaxing walk, grabbing a bite, or enjoying Chicago’s skyline. A must-visit for anyone coming to the city!
Hakan A — Google review
Visited Navy Pier on a Friday night during the holiday season. Took an impromptu ride on the Ferris wheel ($24 per person) and enjoyed a breathtaking view of the skyline. Holiday decorations were impressive and it was a fun place to capture memories. Recommend visiting!
Adam T — Google review
I wanted a place to go in Chicago without fighting all the traffic but still getting to see Lake Michigan and the downtown buildings. This was perfect! Beautiful views of the city, and if you take the Centennial wheel, you get to see incredible views 360 degrees around! There was food, music, drinks and more available depending upon time of the year, week, day, etc. I went in February once and still had a wonderful time! Parking on the pier was easy and accessible, but expensive.

🌳 My Visit to Millennium Park, Chicago My visit to Millennium Park was an unforgettable experience and one of the best highlights of Chicago. Located right in the heart of downtown, this beautiful urban park perfectly blends art, architecture, and nature — making it a must-visit spot for both tourists and locals. The first thing that caught my eye was the iconic Cloud Gate sculpture, famously known as “The Bean.” Its mirrored surface beautifully reflects the Chicago skyline and is a fantastic place for photos — especially in the morning or around sunset. I also loved walking through the Crown Fountain, with its interactive digital faces and shallow water area — a fun place to relax, especially for families and children. The Jay Pritzker Pavilion, designed by Frank Gehry, is another architectural masterpiece where you can enjoy free concerts and events during summer. The park’s landscaping is stunning, especially at the Lurie Garden, which offers peaceful walking paths and colorful flowers amidst the city’s tall buildings. 📍 Tips for Visitors: • Best visited during the morning or evening for great lighting and fewer crowds. • Free entry, and most attractions are within walking distance. • Combine your visit with the nearby Art Institute of Chicago and Maggie Daley Park. Overall, Millennium Park is a beautiful symbol of modern Chicago — vibrant, artistic, and full of life. A perfect spot to relax, take photos, and enjoy the city’s creative energy. 🌆✨
Shanz S — Google review
Kinda a must see if in Chicago and if you catch it in early morning you could definitely get some great shots of the Bean and the City Scapes it provides. Very popular attraction with large crowds coming and going all day and into the evening. We had limited time while in town and was able to walk from our hotel to visit. Spent about and hour getting photos and watching the crowds.
Jim M — Google review
Millennium Park is one of the most beautiful and well-maintained parks I’ve ever visited. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxing, with people of all ages enjoying the open spaces. The Cloud Gate sculpture—often called “The Bean”—is even more impressive in person, especially when it reflects the city skyline and the clouds above. The park is always clean, and there are plenty of benches and shaded areas for resting. During the summer, the fountain area becomes a favorite spot for families and kids to cool off, while in winter, the ice-skating rink brings a completely different charm. It’s also conveniently connected to other attractions like the Art Institute and Michigan Avenue, making it easy to spend an entire afternoon here. Whether you’re taking photos, jogging, or just sitting with a coffee watching the city move, Millennium Park offers a perfect balance of art, nature, and architecture. Definitely a must-visit spot in Chicago!
Pipi C — Google review
Millennium Park was one of my go-to spots while visiting Chicago, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! It's such a well-known park especially for "The Bean" and you can instantly see why. Everyone is taking pictures, smiling, and just enjoying the atmosphere. The area is clean, vibrant, and surrounded by Chicago's incredible skyline, which makes every photo look like a postcard. Whether you're there to relax, people-watch, or just take in the energy of the city, Millennium Park delivers. It's one of those places that truly captures the spirit of Chicago lively, artistic, and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit if you're in town!

🌳 Review: Millennium Park, Chicago The Millennium Park in Chicago is an artistic and refreshing public space that perfectly combines modern architecture, creativity, and relaxation. It is one of the city’s must-visit attractions and a place where people can truly enjoy both nature and art together. The highlight for me was the digital fountain (Crown Fountain) — a tall glass structure displaying the image of a person whose face moves naturally, and water flows gently from the mouth as if it were alive. The movement of the images and the reflection of light and water create a mesmerizing and peaceful scene, especially when viewed up close. Equally impressive is the Cloud Gate, popularly known as “The Bean.” When you walk inside the sculpture and look upward, it gives a feeling of infinite reflections and depth, showing the sky, people, and surroundings in a spectacular, mirrored view. It’s both playful and thought-provoking — a wonderful example of modern art blending with science and design. Overall, Millennium Park is a fantastic place to spend time with friends or family, take photographs, or simply sit and enjoy the artistic energy of Chicago. The reflections, lights, and lively atmosphere make it one of the city’s most memorable experiences.

Loved spending time at Millennium Park! Super clean, vibrant, and full of life. The Bean is iconic, but the gardens and fountains make it even more special. Great place to chill and people-watch!

Beautiful moments spent here. I would recommend to visit this public park if visiting downtown Chicago. It is a tourist attraction. There were a lot of people here, especially around the Bean, The fountain area is so nice where the faces change on the structures. It is a nice area to walk around and spend some beautiful times with love ones. Admission is free, that helps the area being packed up with people from all around the world.

Cloud Gate, often called “The Bean,” is one of Chicago’s most iconic landmarks and a must-see spot in Millennium Park. Seeing it in person is even more impressive than in photos. The smooth, mirror-like surface perfectly reflects the city skyline, the clouds, and the people walking around it, creating a fascinating and ever-changing piece of art. It’s amazing how something so simple in shape can be so captivating. Early mornings are peaceful and great for photos without crowds, while evenings bring a lively energy with lights reflecting off its surface. The area around Cloud Gate is clean and well maintained, surrounded by trees, fountains, and open spaces where you can sit and relax. It’s also close to other attractions like the Jay Pritzker Pavilion and the Art Institute of Chicago. Whether you’re visiting for sightseeing, photography, or just to enjoy the city’s atmosphere, Cloud Gate captures the spirit of Chicago perfectly — modern, creative, and full of life. Its smooth, reflective surface beautifully mirrors the city skyline, the sky, and visitors themselves, creating endless photo opportunities. Walking around and under the sculpture is mesmerizing — the reflections shift with every angle, and you can see yourself interacting with the city in a unique way. It’s especially stunning during sunrise or sunset when the light casts magical reflections on its polished surface. The area around Cloud Gate is lively, with street performers, tourists, and locals enjoying the park. Visiting Cloud Gate at night is an unforgettable experience. The polished stainless steel surface mirrors the Chicago skyline and city lights in a way that feels almost magical. Standing beneath “The Bean,” you can see the reflections curve and blend, creating a surreal version of the city around you. Located in Millennium Park, it’s one of Chicago’s most iconic landmarks and a must-see for any visitor. The area is beautifully lit at night and far less crowded than during the day, which makes it perfect for quiet photos or just taking in the view. The reflections of the skyline, the park lights, and even the stars above make Cloud Gate a stunning piece of art that connects you to the city’s energy and beauty in a truly unique way.

The Bean as it's locally known as is a cool sculpture in a nice park. Definitely one of the more unique things in town. As others have mentioned, I'd advise going early or at least before shops open as it'll be quieter. We also noticed it was quieter when it snowed so keep that in mind if you want to explore Chicago in the snow

I showed pictures to my two boys of "The Bean" in Chicago, IL and they thought it was so cool. I thought I would surprise them with a trip to Chicago last Saturday and this was one of the first things we did. Took lots of pictures with "The Bean" or Cloud Gate. We were all sure to touch it and enjoy the purpose of it. For some reason, I feel like it was moved within the past decade and I also remember it being smaller. Weird... Overall, my boys were very excited to see it and touch it. Thanks Chicago, IL.

I mean. You have to go see it. The “Bean” or Cloud Gate at Millennium Park is absolutely worth a visit during your trip to Chicago. It’s great for photos and honestly just a remarkable spectacle of design. Both times I’ve visited it’s been populated but there hasn’t been any difficulty getting right up close to the structure to take photos. It doesn’t require tickets and there are no lines. Check it out!

It was truly surreal to be at this location after seeing it online for a long time. It was packed with tourists and parking was hectic. It was beautiful to observe the cityscape on the bean. It’s also well maintained and a good city attraction.

Art museum
The Art Institute of Chicago is a renowned art museum that boasts an extensive collection of nearly 300,000 works from various cultures and time periods. Since its establishment in the late 1800s, the institute has grown to become one of America's largest art museums. Visitors can explore ancient Egyptian and Greek artifacts, iconic impressionist pieces by Monet and Van Gogh, as well as contemporary works by artists like Picasso, Warhol, and Pollock.
The Art Institute of Chicago is an absolute must-visit and one of the best museums in the U.S. We used the CityPASS, which gave us express entry — no long lines, a big plus! The museum is huge and beautifully curated, featuring world-famous masterpieces by Monet, Van Gogh, and many other renowned artists. The layout makes it easy to navigate, and there are plenty of clean restrooms throughout. I appreciated the bag check area where you can safely leave larger items, though small bags and water bottles are allowed inside. The souvenir shop is also impressive — large and filled with unique art-inspired items. Whether you’re an art lover or a casual visitor, this museum is a Chicago highlight and a must-see attraction downtown. Spent around three hours there but could spend the whole day if we don't have other plans.

One of the best art museums I’ve ever been to. The building and location was great, how the galleries were entering through each other was really interesting. Pro-tip: use their guide! It felt more than amazing to see a lot of Monet’s painting of one collection next to each other. And seeing Van Gogh’s brush stroke felt really special. My favorite artists that had their famous artworks in this museum were: Edward Hopper - Van Gogh - Monet - George Surat- Paul Cézanne - Whistler - Hammershoi Also, their lighting was really good. Their art shop was amazing! I bought beautiful postcards for 1.5 $ and a lot of fun items from different artists. I highly recommend visiting this museum if you’re in Chicago, and setting at least 3 hours of free time to enjoy with no stress and rush.

My Visit to the Art Institute of Chicago My visit to the Art Institute of Chicago was one of the highlights of my trip. It’s not just a museum — it’s a journey through centuries of global art and culture. The building itself is grand and beautifully designed, right next to Millennium Park, making it easy to find and explore. Inside, the collection is breathtaking — from American classics like Grant Wood’s “American Gothic” and Nighthawks by Edward Hopper, to masterpieces by Monet, Van Gogh, Renoir, Picasso, and Rembrandt. Each gallery felt like stepping into a different era and part of the world. The Modern Wing was a personal favorite, showcasing stunning contemporary works in a bright, open space. The Impressionist collection is one of the best I’ve ever seen, with vivid colors and incredible detail that make you feel part of the painting. The museum staff were friendly and helpful, and the layout was easy to navigate even though the collection is vast. I also enjoyed a relaxing break at the Museum Café, overlooking the park. 📍 Tips for Visitors: • Book tickets online to save time. • Plan at least 2–3 hours (or more!) — there’s so much to see. • Audio guides and maps are very helpful for first-time visitors. • Don’t miss the gift shop for unique art-themed souvenirs. Overall, the Art Institute of Chicago is a world-class museum that beautifully captures the power of creativity and history. A must-visit for anyone coming to Chicago! 🖼️✨

We came here on a Bank of America sponsored day and luckily we have BOA accounts and we're let in for free! There's so much iconic art here. And it truly is a massive space - I tried to speed run the whole museum in 2 hours and only got through ~85% of it. Really appreciated all the curated works and how they organized each room/section, and their exhibits were also very special.
Becky T — Google review
During my last trip to Chicago I got the CityPass and visited this enormous museum on a Monday during summer. If you like to appreciate art this is your museum, it has lots of sculptures, paintings, photography, textiles, weapons armor, among others... from different cultures during impressionism and post-impressionism. If you have a tight schedule I recommend you to plan which pieces of art you want to see before visiting the museum, check the map, use the app. If you intend to cover all the museum in detail it would be almost impossible to do it in one day.

A Must-Visit for History & Art Lovers! This art museum beautifully showcases the history and cultures of various countries and ancient civilizations. The exhibits are thoughtfully arranged, and the ambience truly immerses you in the past. Each section is rich with historical references, making it a great place for anyone interested in literature, heritage, and art. The museum is well-maintained and organized, which enhances the overall experience. One of the most inspiring highlights here is the section dedicated to Swami Vivekananda’s historic speech, which adds a spiritual and motivational touch to the experience. It’s truly moving to stand in a place that reflects his message of unity, peace, and cultural pride. Do note that weekends can get a bit crowded, so visiting on a weekday is ideal if you prefer a quieter atmosphere. Overall, a wonderful place to learn, explore, and appreciate world cultures.

Iconic art! Definitely worth seeing! Fairly easy to navigate on your own. $38 adult entrance fee. They have a QR code on a sign at the entrance, super easy to buy your ticket as you walk in - even took Apple Pay. I did a thoughtful self tour in a couple hours. Staff and security are helpful if you get turned around. Seriously, security are not experts in the art though. I saw a couple people try to ask them art questions… lol!

I visited here at 10 AM with a member who is a resident of Chicago. Members can visit early from 10 AM to 11 AM. If you have a friend or a family member who lives in Chicago and is a member, that is a great experience to learn what they like at the museum! There was a temporary exhibit at the museum for the drawing and prints room. I saw an Edward Munch lithograph of The Scream painting. I would recommend buying a ticket in advance and keeping the printout of your ticket or if you have it on your phone. They do require to see your ticket again to re-enter the museum if you go to the gift shop. I bought postcards to send to my family and will be writing out the postcards this afternoon. They also have nice insulated bags at the museum shop that you can use on your trip. There is an abundance of natural light in the lobby and many of the galleries. The only thing I have against this museum is that they charge for admission. I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and our Minneapolis Institute of Art does not charge for admission for any patrons.

Located in Grant Park, Chicago, the Clarence F. Buckingham Memorial Fountain is a stunning 3-level rococo fountain that has been standing proud for almost a century. Built in 1927 to honor philanthropist Clarence Buckingham, this iconic landmark offers impressive 20-minute water shows every hour on the hour from May through October.
Love this area so beautiful. So many places to walk to nearby. We walked to the Art Institute of Chicago and also to dinner from here. Loved that they had bathrooms here, the had two buildings on both sides of the fountain. Beautiful view looking towards the city and turning around you can see the lake. It did look like there was some food you could buy here too.

The Clarence F. Buckingham Memorial Fountain is one of the most breathtaking landmarks in Chicago and truly the centerpiece of Grant Park. The fountain’s size and design are incredible — you can feel its elegance and history the moment you see the water start to rise. During the day, it’s a perfect spot to relax, take photos, or just sit and enjoy the view of the skyline in the background. At night, the fountain becomes even more magical, with colorful lights and music that make the entire area come alive. It’s especially beautiful around sunset when the light reflects off the water. The surrounding area is spacious, with plenty of benches and open lawns, making it ideal for a quiet stroll or a romantic evening walk. The fountain is also close to other major attractions like the Art Institute, the lakefront trail, and Millennium Park, so it’s easy to include it in any city tour. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this place is a must-see — a timeless symbol of Chicago’s beauty and charm.

This fountain is truly breathtaking and much larger than photos can capture. Nestled beside Lake Michigan and framed by the stunning Chicago skyline, it creates a picture-perfect setting that feels both romantic and serene. It’s the kind of place that invites you to pause, take a deep breath, and simply enjoy the moment. Perfect for reflection, a date, or even a quiet afternoon alone, it offers a little magic under the open sky. Packing a picnic and spending a few hours here is a wonderful idea. As one of Chicago’s most iconic landmarks, it carries a fascinating backstory you can read about online, and being the second-largest fountain in the world makes it even more impressive. On hot summer days, it’s a refreshing spot to cool down, and when the lights come on at night, the view is absolutely spectacular.

This fountain ⛲ is a must see while in Chicago. The water shoots up very high at intervals. The backdrop of the city scape is gorgeous. I highly recommend taking the time to visit this beautiful landmark. We were there around 10:00am on a weekday and there was no one else there. Wonderful experience!

This is a nice open space that is not far from the lake. Sometimes when I am on break from work, I like walking around this fountain. The fountain is beautiful. When the sun sets right you have a chance of seeing a rainbow, and a chance of getting drenched by the fountain. Haha. If you walk across the lake, there is a trail that allows you to walk alongside and see Lake Michigan in its beauty. If you walk far enough, you get to see all the docks, people jogging, and people riding bikes. Enjoy your stay.

Buckingham Fountain is a must-see in Grant Park. The fountain itself is stunning, especially when the water shows are running. Surrounded by city skyline views and Lake Michigan, it’s a great photo spot and a nice place to pause while exploring the area. Best enjoyed in the evening when it’s beautifully lit.
Gevorg N — Google review
Good place to sit and enjoy the view ! Walking distance from the waterfront. Also, on walking distance from Bean / Cloud Gate. During the night show around 8:00 PM, it is tough to walk as there is no lighting around this fountain.
Ashish A — Google review
The fountain is beautiful and definitely worth a visit. However, the large number of tourist bicycles takes away from its charm. Many riders are rude, don’t respect pedestrians, and ride with loud music and bright lights that ruin almost every photo — you really have to work hard to get a good shot. I believe the city should take action to prevent them from getting so close to the fountain. They can and should work, but not at the expense of the experience for those visiting this landmark.

Located on the 103rd floor of the former Sears Tower, Skydeck Chicago provides visitors with breathtaking views of four states. The unique viewing platform The Ledge lies 4ft outside the building dimensions and offers brave visitors unrivaled views over the city. With museum-quality exhibits and a 60-second ride up to the 103rd floor, Skydeck Chicago is a must-see attraction in Chicago.
Absolutely amazing experience! The little museum section before going up was a great surprise — very well done and full of interesting facts. The elevator ride up was fast and smooth, and then… the grand finale! Standing on the glass ledge and taking a photo “in the air” was just incredible. WoW! A must-do experience if you’re visiting the city.

From the moment we stepped into the Willis Tower, the excitement was real. The elevator ride up to the 103rd floor was fast and smooth, and the views? Absolutely breathtaking. You get a full panoramic look at Chicago’s skyline, Lake Michigan, and on a clear day, even parts of neighboring states! But the real highlight? The Ledge. 😱 These glass boxes extend out from the building, letting you stand 1,353 feet above the ground with nothing but glass beneath your feet. It was thrilling, surreal, and surprisingly not as scary as it looks! 🎉 The kids had an absolute blast! They were jumping, posing, and laughing the whole time. It was so heartwarming to see them enjoy something so unique and adventurous. The staff were super friendly and helped us get some great photos too.

We visited the Skydeck totally spontaneously on a Saturday night and had such a great experience! We were originally going to buy tickets at the self-checkout kiosk, but the prices were pretty high, so I checked online and found a much better deal through Tripster. The tickets were emailed instantly and we walked right in with the barcodes. Before reaching the ledge, you go through a really well-done museum with interactive displays about Chicago’s history, architecture, and the Willis Tower. It definitely adds to the whole experience. Once you get to the Skydeck, the line looks long but moves quickly and efficiently. We actually got to go out on the ledge multiple times and take plenty of photos. They take one professional photo from above, then you get 90 seconds to take your own. At the end, all the photos taken of you get uploaded to a card they give you, and you can download a few digital postcards for free. Even though it was raining the night we went, the views were still breathtaking. It’s a little pricey, but honestly worth it — it’s not something you do every day, and the views alone make it memorable. We’d love to come back on a clear day to get more pictures together. Highly recommend for both locals and visitors!

🌇 Review: Skydeck Chicago – Willis Tower The Skydeck at Willis Tower in Chicago is truly one of the most thrilling and memorable experiences the city has to offer. Located on the 102nd floor of this iconic skyscraper (formerly known as Sears Tower), it offers a breathtaking 360-degree view of the entire city and Lake Michigan. The building itself is a marvel of engineering — constructed decades ago yet still standing as one of the tallest and most resilient structures in the world. You can actually feel and hear the gentle response of the building to strong winds, a reminder of its flexible yet sturdy design. Every year, the tower is struck by 50 to 60 lightning bolts, and its lightning protection system effectively neutralizes the charges — a fascinating aspect of its engineering brilliance. The highlight of the visit is definitely The Ledge — a glass balcony extending about 1.5 meters (4.3 feet) out from the main structure, allowing you to literally stand above the city and look straight down through the transparent glass floor. It’s a thrilling, once-in-a-lifetime experience that blends excitement with awe. The lift ride to the 102nd floor is smooth and fast, with an engaging video presentation about the building’s history during the ascent. The visitor area is well-organized, and staff are courteous and helpful. The surrounding shopping area and exhibits about Chicago’s history make the visit even more worthwhile. Overall, Skydeck Chicago is a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the Windy City — whether you’re a traveler, engineer, photographer, or just someone who wants to see the world from above. The experience perfectly captures the spirit of Chicago: innovation, strength, and beauty.

The view was beautiful! And it’s great that they allow you to take your own pictures. They do take some, but you have to pay extra for them in the end. We went at night so we could see the lights which was perfect for me. There was also a cute little attraction on the history of Chicago before you go up.

🔟 / 🔟 Hello, we were here. This is a very beautiful building, with a viewing platform over the entire city. Simply wonderful, the view is legendary and beautiful with a view of the whole of Chicago. Be prepared to wait, it can sometimes take up to 1 hour until you get to the top. The best way to order tickets is online. This is a trip for everyone, for young and old, for families, for couples, for friends or alone. Every visit here is worth it. Really very cool done. I really enjoyed the trip. Feel free to come by, you have to be here at least once when you are in Chicago. We'd love to come back. See you next time. ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻

Skydeck Chicago is one of the most unforgettable attractions in the city and absolutely worth a visit. The elevator ride is super fast and smooth, and once you reach the top, the view will take your breath away. The highlight, of course, is The Ledge — the glass boxes that extend out from the building. Standing on it feels both exciting and terrifying at the same time, but it’s a must for anyone visiting. The staff are friendly and patient, helping everyone get great photos safely. The exhibits before the elevator ride are also very well done, giving you insight into Chicago’s history and architecture. It can get busy, especially around sunset, so booking tickets online ahead of time is highly recommended. Scenic Walking Areas
57-acre lakefront park featuring a beach & walking trail, plus a seasonal pavilion & concessions.
It was nice to visit the dunes and beach. The dunes are a bit of a workout to climb but offer a great view of the lake. The beach was clean, but there was a small amount of trash on the dunes themselves. There wasn't much, so I think it does get picked up sometimes. There was a nice indoor pavilion area that had restrooms and looked like it was being used for a wedding when we went. There was also a food vendor by the building for any snacks while at the beach.

It’s very tranquil. We were here on what I consider to be a blazing hot summer day. There are informational signs, including to not go off the trails so the natural environment isn’t affected. You can see over to downtown Chicago across the lake. This day, the view was affected by the Canadian wildfires so it was hazy. Almost like Chicago was floating on the lake. There’s a break wall walkway that offers even better views.

Nice serene peaceful walk in a national park across from a steel mill. Very interesting concept to see how nature and industry are separate but cohesive. The center has a snack food vendor, restrooms, gathering/meeting area, outdoor picnic tables and fireplace. There is also a beach here and a walk to a pier/navigation aid. 2 hikes are here, the short hike is very easily accessible to handicapped individuals, however there are steps down to the path on the canal side, and the hike is approximately 45min to hour on paved trails/boardwalk depending on your speed and how many selfies you take. I highly recommend visiting here.
Brad F — Google review
Great spot for pictures! It is a long walk if you want to walk the whole pier so make sure you don't forget anything in your car. We came here to go fishing, didn't catch anything but enjoyed the scenery and got some sun! This place is part of the National Park so you do have to have a pass or pay before you park.

During government shutdown: no pass is required, but be mindful that there are no rangers. All the more reason to practice “leave no trace.” Pack out what you pack in. This riverwalk path is mostly paved, but some sand. Beautiful views of Lake Michigan.

For vacations it is spectacular in family, as a couple or alone. A lot of peace of mind. An area of little attendance. It is a part without many waves and super low tide. Recommended for children.

The Venue at Horseshoe Hammond

The performance by Frankie Beverly and Maze at The Venue at Horseshoe Hammond was exceptional. The location provided a fantastic and intimate atmosphere for attendees, with comfortable temperatures and strict adherence to mask-wearing. The venue itself was well-maintained, beautifully decorated, and featured convenient COVID stations throughout. It was also commendably organized, ensuring everyone had a great time. Similarly, when watching The Temptations at the same venue, the show was outstanding.
Came for the Temptations and Four Tops Motown 40th anniversary show. The show was fantastic, both groups did their top hits and it was a lovely grown folks night out! To see Otis Williams the original Temptations founder still grooving and dancing at age 83 is amazing. Brilliant brilliant show. The venue also was very nice and we were right up front. Though One of the ushers up front was being irritating stopping people from recording to make short clips but that didn’t ruin the night!
Chosani M — Google review
The balcony seats for our concert had great views! The staff were all friendly. The downside is that for $2 you get a tiny bottle of water, so plan on buying 3 or 4 if you are thirsty. If you are a non-smoker like us, it's pretty rough walking through the clouds of smoke on the casino floor to get to the back where the smoke-free venue is. Sure would be nice to have a separate entrance for those of us who enjoy clean air.
Bonnie L — Google review
Awesome venue! This is a great place to see a show. With all the amenities of the casino and a hotel…You can’t go wrong. There are some great places to eat before the show. TaCo’s had a giant burrito that’s sure to fill you up. If steak is what you crave. Merlot’s is on site for one of the best steaks you’ll ever have. I can’t wait to return for the next concert! The Suites are definitely the way to go!
Sam P — Google review
I'm a bit torn. We saw Gojira and Mastodon here and the show was phenomenal and I loved the venue. BUT, getting into the venue was a bad experience. It took us 45 minutes from parking to get into the show. First, there are only like 2 entrances to get into the casino where they check your ID, and it takes, like, a minute per person. There were many people here for the concert, so this took a long time. Then, upstairs, we had to wait in line to get a wristband and show our ticket, and then wait in ANOTHER line to show our ticket and get in the venue. That whole thing was ridiculous. Then, after the show was overit took about an hour to leave the parking garage. Everyone was trying to leave at once, and there is like, one exit, so we literally didn't move for 30 minutes. You either need to leave early or plan to get food or gamble or something to avoid the traffic. The actual venue was great though. It felt huge and spacious and I had a blast. Great crowd. In the future, I will try to arrive much earlier to get into the casino, and also plan to get food after.
Ryan K — Google review
Seats are comfortable and view is nice on 300 level, but there is 1 register at the bar which slows the process. The line is out of control. On a Saturday this is stupid. Also no lights on the stairs are a death trap. Also cup holders should be on the seat in front for more room.
K D — Google review
Great Venue, Employees were all very polite and helpful!! The drinks were a little pricey in my opinion!!
Patty G — Google review
No one at customer service knows how to patch through a call without hanging up. The valet is slow, it may be faster to pay $50 cash for self park. The “greeter” tried to make small talk and was making me more late to my show. There are hardly any concessions or food except for like chips and liquor. Maxwell was the only draw to this place and I won’t be back for the terrible customer service all around. Even smaller cities have a better serviced casino.
Diamond C — Google review
I was there to see the Kings of Love Concert. Great show. However, my review is about Orlan. The ladies room was really crowded during intermission and I had a really tall drink. Orlan saw me in distress and came to the rescue. I tried to show my appreciation with a generous tip but he wouldn't accept it. Instead he told me to let Katie know he did a great job. So Katie I'm letting you know Orlan is a gem.

County Line Orchard

Orchard
Sights & Landmarks
Quaint farm offering apples & baked goods, plus kids' activities like tractor rides & a corn maze.
We went for an apple picking adventure on a beautiful fall day. I went with my daughter and my grandson. The orchard was very busy, the police had shut down the road to only apple pickers. There was plenty of parking. In order to ride the tractor everyone had to buy a 1/4 peck for $10. The tractor ride took us to the sunflower field, and the pumpkin area. The pumpkins are pre-picked, so we passed on that. The apple picking area had a wide variety and plenty of nice apples. The trees were not too tall so kids and adults don't need to reach far. After picking our fill we went into the barn. They had donuts, cider and souvenirs. We had cider and hot chocolate, all delicious. All together a very fun day.

Went on a field trip. Our tour guide was young and so much fun! I cant remember her name, dark long hair and beautiful. But more importantly very knowledgeable. Answered all out questions, saw bees, sampled apple cider, rode on cart, picked apples, saw how they cleaned apples and sorted them by size. Everyone was so kind! Fun products in little market area. Such a nice and clean play area as well! Cute animals. They have it all.

Oh my goodness it was so much, especially with my family. We did the apple 🍎 picking the maze, my grandchildren went to the zoo, I didn't know how big that section was for the children to play pet animals, jump on what look like a big Ballon, my grandchildren were so happy, plus the apples were very delicious. Of course couldn't leave without my taffy apple and apple pie, and much more.

County Line Orchard is a beautiful and well-maintained place with a lot of charm and great potential for family fun. However, I was disappointed that several attractions were closed during our visit, and this information wasn’t communicated before purchasing the larger package. The experience felt overpriced given what was available that day. It would be helpful if the orchard notified guests in advance about any closures so expectations align with the cost. Still, it’s a nice spot overall—just be sure to confirm what’s open before you go.

The last time I was here was almost 10 yrs ago! Wow, have things changed! So many different options from apple butter and ingredients to homemade salsa and pies! The best time to go is early just after they open. It gets very busy, very quickly!
Ryan T — Google review
I feel like I need to add a review just to say that the recent reviewer saying you can’t pick apples only just… read the sign wrong. You can still just pick apples. And not pay the extra $15. It says it very clearly on the sign that the previous reviewer literally posted a picture of but didn’t look at himself. We did exactly that, and paid $10ea and had a splendid day. Donuts were delicious, bought caramel to eat on apples, also amazing… this place is great.

I didn't get to experience everything they had to offer. I went as a chaperone during a school field trip. It was my very first time there. My daughter and I did apple picking which was super exciting and we hope to return in the future to get a better experience of the place.

Nature & Parks
Lake Katherine Nature Center and Botanic Gardens is an 85-acre oasis in the southwest suburbs, featuring a variety of natural attractions. Visitors can explore gardens, a man-made waterfall, lakeside trails, and native trees. The park offers family-friendly activities such as guided tours and programs for kids to learn about the wildlife. With woodlands, prairies, wetlands, and a 10-acre lake, it's an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts.
Beautiful place to visit. Waterfall was man-made but still beautiful and peaceful. You can walk , bike, jog and even canoe. Lots of benches for seating and just enjoying nature. They also have lots of flowers and even a gift shop which by the way has restrooms. Definitely a must see. So many places to explore so I don't know if we'll be back but i surely enjoyed it.

Don't miss this place! Nice walk around the lake, ducks, swans and beautiful plants. Perfect place to rest up after Palos trails. Plenty of free parking. מומלץ מאוד! מטופח ויפה.

Our students went there on a field trip, and the event was wonderful! Although the rain at the beginning of the scavenger hunt dampened a few spirits, LK staff provided rain ponchos and enthusiasm that carried us through until the sky cleared, and the sun came out. We felt that the provided map should have had more identifiable landmarks, like the big wooden chair, the archway, identification of land areas/bays. The staff was awesome, professional, courteous, helpful and knowledgeable! It's a great place for a field trip, a place to meditate, or just enjoy nature with someone. Thanks LK Staff for your hospitality and education!

An extraordinarily beautiful place with lots of gorgeous scenery, great for walks in the fresh air with a huge variety of birds, trees, bushes, flowers. There are lots of benches here where you can sit and meditate in the silence of nature, looking at the lake and the graceful swans. Here you can feel like you're in a real story.

One of my most favorite places!! It's worth the 30 min drive for me. This place makes me happy. The guy for the boats was so attentive to my questions with me being a first time. I appreciate how he was patient with me. I didn't make it past 10 mins and he offered a refund. He was so kind. Thank you for being beautiful in a beautiful place!!

The lake is pretty big and has a beautiful waterfall that starts from a small hill. There is nature and splendor all around. We walked around the lake and saw a bug residence, a nursery and photo shoots and newlyweds. There us a clubhouse too.

Our favorite place for a dog-friendly walk. Thank you to all the volunteers and staff that keep this a beautiful place, despite the disrespectful people who leave their dog poo and other trash. I hope they don't ruin it for the people who respect and appreciate the hard work that it takes to provide this beautiful sanctuary for animals and deserving humans.

Cog Hill Golf & Country Club

Golf club
Outdoor Activities
Located in Lemont, the Cog Hill Golf & Country Club is a popular spot for public tee times in Chicago. The club's legendary No. 4 course, Dubsdread, has hosted the PGA TOUR 19 times and is known as one of golf's toughest tracks. For those looking for a more relaxed experience, there are three other layouts to choose from on-site.
Amazing course and had fun time playing. Played the Dubsdread course. Pretty nice layout, challenging but fun to play. Hosted multiple Professional PGA golf tournament including the BMW championship for many years. Would love to play here again.
Murugs L — Google review
I played the No. 4 Dubsdread while I was in town. The course is well designed with a strategic layout. Accuracy is more important than distance here. All greens are surrounded by bunkers with fast rolling speed. It definitely takes strategy to determine how to approach the green. While I enjoyed playing this course, the condition of the green needs a lot of improvement. Every green was filled with sand spots and rolled lines. This was beyond aeration condition. It is not worth the full price.
Wally W — Google review
I was genuinely excited to golf at Cog Hill, No 4 after seeing it rated as one of the top 100 courses in the United States. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of expectations. The practice and warm-up greens were extremely muddy, making it nearly impossible to get a proper feel for the day ahead. There was also no grass to hit from on the range — only worn, bare spots — and I found myself hitting golf balls barely three inches away from other players, which felt unsafe and uncomfortable. When I arrived at the cart, I was surprised to find no towels or tees provided, something I would expect at a course with this reputation and price point. On the course itself, the greens were not as clean or well-maintained as anticipated, and the overall design lacked the excitement and character I was hoping for. I was also very saddened to find that the pro shop had such a small selection of women’s clothing, and nearly all sizes were sold out except for large. For a club that hosts golfers from all over, it was disappointing to see such limited options for female players. While the course itself is okay, it simply doesn’t meet the standard promised on the website. For a club with such a strong reputation, there’s a lot that needs improvement to truly deliver the premium experience golfers expect here.
Paige M — Google review
Some of the finest public golf in the Chicago area. With three 18s and a fully competent staff, it can get busy. All courses are challenging and fun for the average golfer. 3 friends and I walked Course 1 early last Sunday and had a delightful time. The hot dogs are big, tasty and accessible. A great halfway house that’s full stocked. I recommend the canned transfusion.
Stephen L — Google review
I've played on courses 1, 2 and 3 and have had great experiences. All 3 are beautiful and great for the price you pay. Only downside is how backed up they can get sometimes. But thats with every golf course. A+ for being a public course.
Chris O — Google review
Played #2 (Ravines) course, and it's a very intriguing track. A Variety of tee boxes are available for all skill levels of players. We played from the white tees, about 6300 yards, which felt long on some par 4s. Cog's practice facility is one of the very best in Chicagoland. Heated bays, trackman, all the bells and whistles. Terrain is a key design element of this track, and combined with sand traps, water hazards, and trees make this course a real challenge. The first two and last two holes are rather flat and a bit wide open, but holes 3-16 sport unique design and are quite challenging. I would have given 5 stars, but the pace of play was extremely slow, and I did not see any marshall on the course. The staff I did interact with was professional and on-task. However, for this price, it should not take 5.5 hours to play. Parts of the course were lacking in quality turf as well. Besides these minor gripes, the course is excellent in both design and playability. Golf carts have GPS, but not actual pin location. Condition of carts is average at best. This courae gets a LOT of players, so expect to see ball marks on greens and divots not replaced. The above said, this is a destination golf club, and deserves its reputation. Have a great round!
Andrew B — Google review
This is an all encompassing review from my experiences at Cog Hill from playing Courses 2,3 and 4. We played Course 3 on a fall weekend and while the course was in peak conditions, the pace of play was an unholy level of slow. Over 5 hours and 15 minutes was spent on the course and while the price point is good for 1 and 3 I can enjoy 4-4.5 hour rounds elsewhere. This spring I played Number 4 (Dubsdread) and Number 2 (Ravines) the two more premium courses. Yes I know it's April/early May golf, but upkeep was a far cry from courses like Glenview Park, Glencoe, Winnetka, and even Sydney Marovitz. While I hear the rates jump up in high season, I'm not sure I would spend that much. Pace of play was better than no. 3, there was a slight rain out on our Dubsdread round but otherwise the weather had been good. Ravines was a much better pace but we were able to play that because the tee sheet was empty. Now for the tee sheet. Coinciding with other reviews, the club has definitely lost some of its luster and doesn't live up to its top 100 public rating it received a few years ago, which is apparent as tee times are not difficult to get. Onto the conditions: Weeds on weeds on weeds for both no. 2 and 4. The rough is dense with dandelions which is shocking because I honestly don't see dandelions at any other public facility I've played this spring. Our round on Dubsdread had also been after recent punching (carving up) of the greens which wasn't mentioned by the pro shop, which didn't appear to be done properly. Rangers on Course 4 were seemingly on a power trip, despite not notifying players of cart path only after the rainfall. Contrarily, all was fine on Ravines until hole 9, where grounds crews were actively re-sodding the landing area for tee shots on the Par 5! Not sure why on a nice morning round they would have that take place, nor was it divulged to us pre-round. As for the layout and experience: 2 and 4 are challenging, with 2 being a better for a teens handicap and 4 being a bit too long for my abilities. While I would like to play 2 and 4 again during peak season, I'm not sure the price increase is justified. Golfers looking for a destination top 100 course that's hosted tour events in decades past will probably be left disappointed in the product for the price.

Fabulous wedding venue! We hosted our daughter’s wedding at Cog Hill on May 31. The venue is picture perfect: gorgeous banquet room, spacious terrace, stand alone bar with lovely ambience, welcoming lobby, and so on. From the moment we visited a year ago, through the tasting, to the day of, and down to the post wedding billing settlement, the staff are responsive, helpful, friendly. Shout out to Madeline who served as our point person: soft spoken but a powerhouse when it comes to getting things done! We took more of a DIY approach with our decor including florals, and CH staff were great about helping with that in the days leading up to the wedding. And kudos to Madeline for making our decor vision a reality! Wait staff, bartenders, and all other helpers were professional, friendly, and efficient. We chose the family style dinner option, with a la carte appetizer selections and late night snacks. Food was delicious and we received many compliments on both the food itself and the service. The bar is generously stocked. And having a secondary bar on the terrace is wonderful for a spring-summer wedding. And at the end of the night, a team of fast-moving young people did an amazing job of getting our “stuff” packed up carefully and efficiently. I wish I had more photos to post at this time but we are waiting on the photographer. I’ll include a couple here now. Bottom line: Not only is Cog Hill a solid value but also it is absolutely beautiful, and the experience was worry free! Highly recommend!

Water & Amusement Parks
Deep River Waterpark is a popular destination for families and thrill-seekers, offering a wide range of water slides, pools, and activities suitable for all ages. During the summer months, visitors can enjoy the various water attractions such as lazy river and wave pool. In winter, the park transforms into an ice skating rink to provide year-round entertainment. The park also offers diverse dining options and is known for its comfortable atmosphere.
This is a great place!! Whether you are a newborn child or a 100 year old adult, there's something here for you. Everyone was smiling, laughing and/or screaming with joy. The park was clean, the staff was friendly and safety minded, and the prices were quite affordable. "The Courthouse" was closed, but everything else was up and running as soon as the park opened. The bathrooms and lockers are centrally located, so no peeing in the world class wave pool 😂🤣😂😉

Do not listen to the ticket people, if you booked a cabana, bring your WHOLE party to the group desk, they do not give you 12 bracelets like the emails says, they hold the bracelets hostage and you can get more of additional people show up. The people at the group desk are not very friendly. I am certain they are the ones responding to all the negative reviews. And will have a lot to say to me I'm sure 😎 The park was a lot of fun, the kids enjoyed it. The wave pool was fun, but needs some fresh paint. Other staff was friendly, just not the people at the group desk where you get your cabana and one of them was the manager if you could believe that 🙄 They should hire more professional people to be the face of the company, IMO.

So much family fun! We went closer to the end of the season, which turned out to be a great choice because the crowds weren’t overwhelming, and we were able to move around the park comfortably. Even though it wasn’t packed, the energy was still there, and we had an absolutely wonderful time together. The park itself is very clean and well maintained, and I really appreciated how many lifeguards and staff members were on duty. The strong focus on safety helped us feel relaxed and at ease, knowing the kids could enjoy themselves while we could also have fun. Every ride and pool area we tried felt secure and well supervised. There’s such a great variety of attractions—whether you’re looking to float lazily in the river, splash in the wave pool, or go for something more thrilling like the slides, there’s truly something for everyone. It’s the kind of place where both kids and adults can find their own favorites. I totally recommend this park to families who want a day full of fun without stress. The only thing I wish is that the park stayed open later in the evenings. It would be amazing if they added fireworks, live music, or some kind of nighttime entertainment to extend the experience—it would make an already great place even more special. Regardless, it was a WONDERFUL DAY that we’ll definitely remember, and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back again!

The best value is to buy a seasonal pass around Christmas time where you can get a pass that’s valid for the entire summer for only $99 per person

I am truly disappointed with my recent trip to Deep River Waterpark. The wave pool was plagued with debris, including trash and Band-Aids that stuck to our swimsuits, making it impossible to enjoy. Additionally, the areas surrounding the lazy river were overrun with overgrown weeds. Given the steep entry fee of $30, I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and maintenance.
Jennifer A — Google review
Although the park itself was enjoyable, my family paid extra for a gazebo due to the very limited number of cabanas available. Unfortunately, the gazebo was disappointing. It had several bird and wasp nests inside, chipping paint that clearly hadn’t been maintained for some time, and bird droppings on the ground. It also sits far from the main attractions, making it inconvenient. The park would really benefit from adding more cabanas closer to the activity areas. I will not spend extra money on a gazebo again.

It was my first time visiting here and I will definitely take my kids and go back! Went on a Tuesday and it was perfect. Plenty of seats, tubes and short lines!!! Clean park! We encountered some wonderful employees! Fun for all ages!! BUT I DO recommend bringing your own food and drinks as the food was a little pricey for the quality and quantity. AGAIN water park was 5+ stars!!
Erin G — Google review
It’s been quite some time since I visited Deep River, a place filled with cherished memories of my grown children and the laughter of my grandchildren. One particular day stands out vividly in my mind—the day I observed the lifeguards on duty. Each one was remarkably vigilant, their eyes scanning the water with unwavering focus. I remember sliding down the exhilarating water slide, the rush of water surrounding me, and the thrill of the descent. I noticed my grandson not far behind, but when I glanced up to check on him, the young lifeguard was momentarily out of sight. A knot formed in my stomach as I turned back to the water, only to see the lifeguard propelling my grandson to the surface with impressive speed. It shocked me to think that my grandson, a strong swimmer in his own right, needed rescuing. My heart raced, remembering my own days as a lifeguard back in the 80s, when I prided myself on being quick and attentive. The lifeguard’s swift response was nothing short of remarkable, a testament to the training and commitment one must have in that role. Next month, I’ll be returning to the water park for the parks anniversary, and I am filled with anticipation. The memories of that day linger, reinforcing my trust in the lifeguards’ abilities. I look forward to enjoying the water with my family, knowing that their safety is in capable hands.

Located just a short drive from Merrillville, this renowned factory produces some of the world's best gummies and chocolates. Visitors can take tours to witness the candy-making process and explore the on-site store, which offers a wide variety of delicious souvenirs to take home.
Clean, fun place! Every delicious candyr you can imagine. Staff were helpful, kind & generous with samples. No stinginess here!! Made us glad to purchase more than we’d planned! 😀🎉 Fun stop, worth the little detour. Our favorite: Albanese Dark chocolate gran marnier pecans!!

A huge candy factory. You get a few views of the factory floor but the plant itself is massive. The candy outlet store is very large. There are so many things on offer and the largest part of the place is set aside for bulk orders. They have chocolate, gummies, packages candy and other stuff. If you have a sweet tooth this place will fill that need with ease. I don't know what more to add to all of this, if you are driving by stop in and check it out. There aren't many stores like this around so just a neat place to check out if you are on a road trip and want a fun way to stretch your legs.

This is a heaven for kids and all adults who love candy. Plenty of variety for all taste in candy from chocolates to gummies. Although there is plenty of options, not all candy here is made by the company. Make sure to get the candies marked "Albanese" on them. Staff members here are very friendly. One of the staff members provided me a nice historical recap of the company. Free samples are provided upon request. Unfortunately no factory tours are provided here. Clean restrooms are available.

Albanese gummy bears are hands-down the best gummy bears you can buy, and once you try them, it’s hard to go back to anything else. The first thing you notice is the texture—they’re soft, chewy, and perfectly tender, without that tough, rubbery bite you get from other brands. Each piece feels fresh and practically melts in your mouth. The flavors are where Albanese truly shines. Instead of generic “fruit” tastes, you get bold, distinct flavors like mango, pineapple, and strawberry that are vibrant and instantly recognizable. Every bite bursts with sweetness balanced by just the right amount of tartness, making them incredibly addictive. It’s not just candy—it’s a little fruit-flavored celebration. Even visually, they’re a treat. The colors are bright and glossy, and each gummy bear looks like it belongs in a candy shop window. The variety in the mix means you’re never stuck with a bag full of your least favorite flavor—because let’s be honest, they’re all good. Albanese clearly puts care into their recipe, and it shows. Whether you’re snacking at home, sharing with friends, or looking for a sweet gift, these gummy bears deliver every single time. Simply put: once you’ve had Albanese, no other gummy compares.

The candy is great and they now have these new versions with no artificial dies. The only negative is that you cannot take a pick into production like with some other manufacturers.

Sweet Perfection at Albanese! Who doesn’t love a trip to the candy store? After a fun day at the water park, my girlfriend and I stopped by Albanese in Indiana and it was the perfect sweet finale to our day! We loaded up on gummies and chocolates for the family (and, of course, a few treats for ourselves too). The real star? The Peanut Almond Butter Crunch squares—creamy, nutty, and super addicting. Every bite was pure bliss! If you’re near Indiana and craving top-tier candy, Albanese is a must. Their treats are next-level delicious, and the vibes are just as sweet. We’ll definitely be back!

Pollyanna Brewing Company - Lemont

The beers are awsone here and the atmosphere is even better. The staff is super friendly and helpful with your beer selection, they sure make you feel like home. My favorite is the "Lexical Gap IPA" and the barrel aged "personal chain letter" It's scary smooth, but is so good is awesome. I also like the little second loft section with the second bar. The patio area is also a wonderful place to hang out on a nice sunny day.

Great beer. Have come here a few times over the years. Has always been a place to get just that, a good beer. Today I got more than that. For some reason the current management has decided to begin making religious statements. Why make religious statements? I thought you just want to make good beer? They currently have a sacrilegious display in their brewery belittling and shaming the saints and Blessed Virgin Mary. If you are Catholic, or Eastern Orthodox seriously reconsider coming here until they stop blaspheming our Lord.

We have never seen a more artistically creative or beautiful memorial garden before. There's a chronological timeline of events carved into the brick walkway. The sculptures are breathtaking. There's automated historical accounts at various spots throughout the path. It is stroller, walker and wheelchair accessible. There's a pavilion with picnic tables and restrooms on site. Handicap parking is available. It was truly incredible. You could take a simple walk or spend much more time and read the history as well as visually enjoying it, too!! We are so glad we stopped at this completely beautiful nature/historical site.

Amazing and moving war memorial, covering the Vietnam, Korean and World War's I+II. The bronze images are some of the best and most thought provoking we've ever seen. 3 Floyds Brewing

$$$$affordable
Brewery
Craft brewery established in 1996 featuring artisan beers, plus an on-site store.
Hands down one of my favorite breweries. The beer here is incredible and the artwork is really cool. This place has a great vibe and a distinctive sense of style. The seasonal brews are incredible, while mainstays such as Alpha King, Gumball Head, and of course Zombie Dust are must trys for beer fans.
Michael — Google review
The atmosphere is great and the Beer are even better. The beer selection is awesome and being able to take some home is a bigger bonus! Worth the short trip off 1-94... If you are into microbrews with both quality and character, then you have to try Three Floyds. People come from all over the world to sample their brews, and they have won several awards for different selections on tap here. The place is small, somewhat noisy and funky- with furniture similar to what I had in my apartment in college. The staff are outgoing-but make no mistake, there is a noted lack of push-up bras, fake tans and hair gel in THIS place. What you have here are knowledgeable locals who really know their beer, and good beer grub. If you sit on a bar stool- you might be educated about beer and the different brews on Saturdays you can tour of the brewer. 100% recommend!
Hagz — Google review
Really enjoy the beer, was excited to go to the facility. When we got there, a lot of it was closed off the person working there told us that the tastings and everything has been shut down for about 4 years, and they are wanting to bring it back. Not really a big font for much.

Fun to finally get to visit this place. I with they had a tap room or served beer on site. They had a nice gift shop and you could buy carry out. The beer is great, but a bit over-priced relative to the great beer available at other great breweries. You pay for the reputation, but it's a nice splurge once in a while.

3 Floyds has some fantastic beers/drinks and excellent food, some of which are unlike anything I've ever had. Their bourbon barrel aged Moloko is absolutely phenomenal, and their Daytona Stinger mojito sour is... intense (very good, just... intense!). The food is delicious as well, when the restaurant is open, which it is not currently due to covid. We tried the pizza and cheese curds, both with the amazing pickled veggies on them!

Drove all the way from Pittsburgh to finally make it to 3 Floyds - a true craft beer mecca. The beer is on another level when it is this fresh, and the food was amazing. Best bowl of ramen I've ever had. Staff was friendly and the music was metal. Can't wait to go back.

Still the Center of the Known Brewing Universe and one of the top fifty breweries nationally ... a must visit of the brewery to earn ones chops and learn about hops (sorry). No hiding on the tour of the unique hops, bottling line and thereby the quality of so many favorite pours. Personal favorite now in a can like Alpha King. And even better after the visit try the kitchen and plan visiting next door the distillery.

Who doesn't love a vinyl record blasting behind the bar with some amazing food and beer? Great atmosphere, but a little pricey. Food is a little eclectic when all you want is something basic. I knocked a star off because they didn't offer a true flight. And with a selection of amazing beers I can't get in NJ I wanted to try many!

Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre

Mentioned on

Live music venue
Concerts & Shows
Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre, formerly known as the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater, is a popular live music venue that can accommodate up to 12,000 people with pavilion and lawn seating. Visitors have praised the well-designed space and ample parking options. The venue offers easy access from both sides and provides various concessions for attendees. While some find the pricing of food and beverages on the higher side, others recommend being prepared for security checkpoints to save time.
Last night was my first experience at this venue. I saw KESHA!! We had a great time! This is a great place with lots of seating available including under the awning, on the balcony (also under the awning), grass seats, and more specialized seats with your own server! Though we didn't sit on the balcony, it looked to me like there were bathrooms and bars on every floor. But the best part was when you sat down, you had space to sit and weren't crammed in next to people (I'm thick and really appreciated this). I also dropped my ID and decided to leave a message with the admin office. They called me this morning and I had it back in my hands before we even left. Not only did they go above and beyond for me, but the venue was beautiful, spacious, and clean. I never once waited in a line longer than 5 people. And of course, the show, which was sold out, was absolutely fantastic!!! I can't wait to come to this venue again. Here are a few photos ❤️

Went to see Twenty One Pilots there with my son and hadn’t been there since the very first lollapalooza. It brought back a lot of memories. The venue staff was fantastic. Got us through the lines quickly and kept the place moving.

The amphitheatre is really nice! The sound system is good, and there's a nice breeze in the venue, which was great during a high-energy show like Twenty One Pilots. The staff is helpful and friendly. One of the parking lot attendants went the extra mile to help us find our parking lot. However, venue attendees aren't as considerate. The excessive drinking and eating by some of the people in our row made the experience less enjoyable, especially when there are pizza boxes and beer cans all over the ground and there's no room for your legs. During the concert, weed and cigarette smoke wafted into the stands. This wasn't fair or considerate of other concert-goers. While it's a nice venue, other attendees make it less enjoyable, especially those smoking around others. Is this even allowed?

One of my favorite venues! Great sound, easy parking, and friendly staff. They bring great bands every year, and it’s always fun! Security is great; they keep things organized and people under control. Beer and alcohol prices have gone up and are a bit overpriced. Expect to pay between 16-18 dollars for a beer and 20++ for other drinks. They keep bringing more food vendors so you have a few options for food. Overall, it’s a great place to have a good time and enjoy some great music!

Loved every minute of being here for Big Time Rush!! The staff was more than equipped to handle such a crowd. I was impressed with how efficiently equipped the staff was at parking, security, food lines and bathrooms. All the staff was very friendly, helpful and efficient with their service! My party and I were more than happy with the free refills on our fountain drinks since it was such a hot summer day. I am looking forward to my next event here!! Music was awesome and the show was absolutely perfect!! Thanks guys for being so equipped with making this night so memorable! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Such a great time!! We went for Jonas Brothers and had lawn seating. The staff their were very friendly. My only complaint would be the pricing.. if you plan on getting any kind of adult alcohol drinks plan on taking a loan out before hand 🤣 .. $25 for one drink was probably the most expensive hangover I'd ever paid for. 🤣
Katie R — Google review
Giving them a 5, because I was treated with so much love from our Ticket concierge ladies! Was a FANTASTIC birthday for me and my bestie. They were able to get us upgraded seats from the lawn to Row Y, which was amazing and so much appreciated. However… the ticket concierge package, in my opinion, is not worth the price. You do get convenient parking, a “lounge” section which is just some patio furniture (which was wet) and some tables. We had free waters given to us & there were Private restroom trailers. You do have the choice to be escorted through the grounds, or to the front of any lines. Which was nice going to our seats with because we were able quickly by-pass the security/ticket checkers. However, the lines weren’t bad ❗️If there would have been any kind of view of the stage from the lounge, or even have screens up… it would be worth it. But there is NO VIEW of the stage and that was disappointing as it kinda defeats wanting to be in the lounge area. Now, that is just about the upgrade package, which is an add on to your ticket purchase. The venue itself, all staff was very friendly. Grounds seemed clean, everything felt safe, they had photo op boards in multiple places, lots of food, drinks and merchandise sales flowed quickly- Ps. Vicky in concierge was PHENOMENAL and the absolute sweetest! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Always Love the lawn seats for the price! Ive seen Alot of phenomenal bands there for less than $40. Leaving the parking lot is Hell at nights end And the liquor prices are high but on par with other large venues these days. Lawn seats, bring a blanket! Water bottles and snacks in a clear ziploc bag are great ideas for the little ones.

Odyssey Fun World

Mentioned on

Water & Amusement Parks
Odyssey Fun World is a long-standing family attraction located in Tinley Park, offering a wide range of entertainment options for visitors. The facility boasts an extensive arcade with challenging games and a redemption center where guests can win prizes. Additionally, there are various attractions such as mini-golf, zip lines, batting cages, bumper boats, laser tag, an adventure park with bounce houses, indoor playgrounds, go-karts, and carnival rides.
So, I had a party for my 4 year old and classmates and they loved the place. I know it is older there, but I really love not having a crowd and being able to let the kids run and play. 🎉🎈🥰 This place is very comfortable and relaxing. I'm going to bring the kids back again on rainy days, hot days, or any day that is not suitable for playing outside. ☀️☔️😄
Monica A — Google review
Came for the go-karts—it was my first time, and the experience itself was great. But walking in, there’s zero direction. No greeting, no guidance, no signs about where to get tickets or wristbands. The booth isn’t even near the entrance—you have to wander to find it. At one point we walked straight to the inner tubing area, and the staff seemed ready to let us ride for free without bands. I passed on it though, since I wasn’t planning to get sprayed in the face (one of the features). We eventually made it all the way to the go-karts before realizing we even needed tickets. The place overall felt neglected. From the outside, the building looked faded and run down, and inside, several benches were the same. The lunchroom had multiple dirty tables with no staff in sight. Bathrooms were messy, wet floors, unclean toilets, just not well kept. Sure, there are plenty of games, prizes, and activities, and the go-karts themselves were amazing. But beyond that one highlight, everything else felt like poor upkeep and absent customer service. Most workers seemed distracted, glued to their phones, or just hanging out with friends instead of helping guests. I’m sorry for whoever actually built this place and put it together because it’s not being treated nicely.

What a FUN place! Came here for a Jeep Dog Charity event. So many cool games, bumper cars, racing and fun! I was taken by surprise by the food. The fries are SO good! Hot dogs were good and the pizza puff. Also the nachos were really good. I had fun & liked the place. :)
Carm A — Google review
Our visit to Odyssey Fun World Tinley Park on October 18, 2025, was absolutely heartbreaking and unacceptable. I hadn’t been here in over 15 years and was excited to bring my kids — but that excitement turned into instant regret. Most of the arcade games were broken, and after spending nearly $200, the manager refused to offer any refund or even a small accommodation. My children were crushed. Then, in the ball pit, my 2-year-old threw a ball covered in mold, and when I looked closer, many of the balls were visibly moldy. It was disgusting and unsafe. We tried to salvage the night, but even the ticket system was inaccurate, and my kids earned far fewer tickets than what they actually played for. To make things worse, the candy they picked from the redemption counter was over six months expired. My youngest ate a pack before I noticed and later got diarrhea and a rash on his neck. This place is nothing like it used to be — unsafe, unclean, and poorly managed. My kids left sad, confused, and disappointed. I would never recommend Odyssey Fun World to any family!
Alishia — Google review
This place is fun but the water near the go karts and golf course is SO dirty. And I was told someone drowned in the water. The bridge is super shaky and I was scared the whole time crossing it. They really need to start caring about their business. But we had fun on the go karts and mini golfing.
Ramzy H — Google review
You get your moneys worth with the points for the arcade, but the arcade is not like it used to be, fewer options. Turning in tickets was OK but not enough options if you have a few hundred tickets. The 3-hour wrist bands were awesome, and the place was clean. Can't rate the outside because it rained. I will go back but I will eat some were else. We got supreme nachos, but they did not give us jalapenos after messing up our order but they were very friendly.
Theodore T — Google review
I paid $40 for majority of the games not to work, laser tag is closed and outside is closed because it’s cloudy, and the forecast says NO rain. It’s ridiculous that they charge you, answer your questions knowing the place is basically a ghost play place. Wouldn’t recommend anyone go to this place!
Shanice A — Google review
This place is great! If you like standing around & doing nothing for two hours. I went here on a school field trip (I’m a student) & we received a ton of misinformation about what would be open & available to all of us. We were all told we were too tall to go in the adventure crawl space, only two of the bumper cars worked, we couldn’t get into laser tag despite paying for it, & nothing outside was open. I was told school staff asked weeks in advance if these things would be open, & they said they would. We were then lied too multiple times throughout the trip. When the go karts would be open, when the outside would be open, etc. We were also told that all the game cards we paid for would be unlimited for the entire time we were there. Some kids had more points than others & it was NOT unlimited. (I personally started out with 15 points & only got to play a few games before I ran out) The manager & staff then tried to play damage control, offering us “free” laser tag & go karts, despite the fact we’d already paid for it. In all, I would not recommend coming here for any occasion unless you plan on spending tons of money for little to nothing. (We paid $3000 for 45 kids + chaperones) Go to any other arcade I bet it’d be much better than what we paid for. (These are pictures of me & my classmates standing around, trying to play the games & being turned away from rides)

I was told about this place by my physical therapist since we were going to be in that area. We went on a Friday afternoon after picking up my mother in law. You enter through the gift shop in order to enter the prayer trail/walk. The gift shop has so many things to see and buy. From religious items, toys & crafts for the children, jewelry, fragrance, decorations, books and greeting cards. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for any religious gifts for a communion or just gifts in general for someone or yourself. The prayer path was a very nice walk and very respectfully done showcasing Jesus' path leading to his crucifixion. You were walking the path of Jesus. It's about a half mile for the walk. We were there on a Friday and walked almost to the end but had to walk back because it was going to be too much for my mother in law. My husband and I went back today again and finished the walk as well as seeing the Moses at Mt. Sinai display which took 3 years to create , and the Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine. We would definitely reccomend anyone looking to see something different and experience something extraordinary to take a visit. The walk itself is beautiful and eye opening.

Very peaceful place. The stations of the cross helps in reflecting and getting connected with your inner self. The gift store was so attracting as it has lots of souvenir. I bought unique gifts for my family. Would love visiting this place every month for spiritual awakening.

It was my first time visiting this place, and I have to say it’s a wonderful spot, especially during Holy Week. We went here on Good Friday for the Stations of the Cross, and the bishop himself was present to lead the prayer, which made the experience even more meaningful. They feature life-sized Stations of the Cross, spread out over a nice distance that makes for a reflective walk. There’s also a large gift shop filled with religious items—from crosses and rosaries to books, paintings, and more. Truly a great place to visit.

Great experience of the events that lead to the death of Jesus, including being nailed to the cross and rising again. You can push a button near the exhibit and hear the story. You could also see Mosses and the 10 commandments. AMAZING WORK has gone into each scene. Amazing gift shop. Check out the pictures... cost is free to enter, but they have donation boxes all over the place. Lots of walking. Bring tennis shoes. Not too busy during week day. Check out my pictures.

Beautiful moving journey through the stations. Honor to have the privilege to take my parents on the journey. The gift shop is amazing. The volunteers made it possible with our travel needed.

I really enjoyed my visit here. It was very peaceful and nice reflecting at each station. The readings at each station and the ambiance of the music makes it even better. The gift shop is huge! I recommend planning a couple hours to be here. If you have a group, call before your trip to request a guide.

A very nice Catholic shrine with a very kitschy gift shop. They’ve recently added an Our Lady of Guadeloupe Shrine which is very attractive to the faithful Hispanic community of the area. And best of all it’s free. A lovely place to visit.

Nice clean park with great staff. Lake Mingo is gorgeous to kayak on. Lake was overgrown with water lily making fishing somewhat difficult.

I typically rate parks at 5 stars when I can, but this park seemed poorly managed. Garbage could be seen throughout my drive, and the sign postings were small and hard to read. I don't mind having to deal with bugs when adventuring out in the wild, BUT there were millions of GIANT horse flies here. I thought they were cicadas at first, that is how large they were. They were flying around my car and running into it during my entire drive through the park, so I didn't end up getting out of my car. It was disappointing. I don't know how they can fix this issue, but I don't think I could visit again without the fear of being attacked by these flies. It was like nothing I'd ever experienced before!

I have absolutely fallen in love with this park... my best friend and I went to Kennekuk County Park together to celebrate her birthday. We hiked on the trails some, and it was absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful, healthy trees, tons of birds and butterflies, frogs and toads hopping in and out of the marshes, and all of it was so peaceful! When we got to the river, we waded to a sandbar and found a variety of shells, and just relaxed listening to the river flow and the breeze through the trees. Life at home is busy busy busy with three sons that I homeschool, and not only was Kennekuk the perfect getaway for a day, I can’t wait to go back and take my kids for all of the incredible adventures we can have together, and because there’s a vast amount of science and history in this park with educational opportunities abounding! My boys are going to love, love, LOVE exploring and adventuring at Kennekuk

Chanute Air Museum

Temporarily Closed
Museum
Military Museums
I was sad to hear that the museum is closing down at the end of this month. I visited the museum in Summer 2014, while on a cross-country motorcycle trip, and had been trained at Chanute in 1969-70 as a flight simulator technician. The museum was one of the nicer ones displaying aircraft and I was pleasantly surprised to see an F-104 Starfighter, as well as a B-58 Hustler. While in training at Chanute, our formation had to march past a B-36 on display. After finishing my training, I was stationed at Castle AFB, outside of Merced, CA and trained B-52 pilots. During another motorcycle trip last summer, I also stopped off at the Castle AFB air museum, and much to my surprise, I found that the Chanute B-36 had been moved years earlier and is now on display at Castle! Thanks, Chanute Air Museum for being there since the base's closure and the fond memories it brought back to me during my visit.

Always love coming here- especially in the fall. This was the first year they had babies (at least when I've visited!). There was yummy apple cider in the gift shop (and lots of goodies like pumpkin butter!) The tour was fun and quite interactive. Got to feed the reindeer and ask all sorts of questions!! Would definitely recommend this family friendly farm!

Alaskan Reindeer in central Illinois? Yes! I knew a roadtrip to this unique ranch was in order when I first learned of it. I grabbed a hot coffee and audiobook and made the 2-hour drive to experience it firsthand. From my first glimpse of the sign in Rantoul, IL, until I left the ranch an hour later, I was in love. Easy parking, a beautiful Christmas-themed gift shop, a warm cafe with hot food, hot cocoa and iced sugar cookies and… the real stars of the ranch- the majestic reindeer, made this roadtrip one of my most memorable of the year! Being able to feed and KISS a real reindeer was a bucket list item I had no idea I needed! The only thing that wasn’t so great was that I read recently that the farm is up for sale in 2025. I hope its not true, but if it is, I hope that any potential buyers plan to keep this gem running well. The cost of the reindeer tour and experience was just $10 per person and the food in the cafe was reasonably-priced. If you get the opportunity, Hardy’s Reindeer Ranch is a must stop! And, if anyone has an extra few million sitting around that they would like to sponsor me with, I’m willing to learn how to run a reindeer ranch ( :

This is an amazing Reindeer ranch. So happy to visit this place yesterday. We took the reindeer tour which was very good. Omg! Reindeers were so lively, cute and they were very gentle with us. There was a gift shop store. There was a wide variety of collections there, especially, for Christmas decorations and small souvenirs. I think the best thing to explore here is the reindeer tour and the second one is the corn maze. We didn't have enough time for the corn maze yesterday. Next time we are looking forward to doing it. Every year the maze changes and it's a really fun and exciting thing to do for the kids. I would definitely recommend exploring this.

This place is so freaking cute! The owner is sweet and wants everyone to have fun The prices for food and hot chocolate are SO reasonable. The hot chocolate is SO good. I think it’s made with water and not milk, which I like. And good for anyone who is lactose intolerant. I would recommend, when going in the winter, take your tour when the sun is out because as you know it gets chilly when the sun sets lol. The tour is about 15 ish minutes and $8 per person. Totally worth it and I would do it multiple times just because. The reindeer are so freaking cute and feeding them oats feels fun in your hand. There is a playground for kids and a place where they can ride pedal go carts. And they have a little gift shop. As an adult without children it was the best. They are friendly animals.
Ashleigh C — Google review
Our first time going and we loved it! Was hoping to grab some big pumpkins while there but they were pretty low which considering it was only two days until Halloween I completely understand. Reindeer are the best part about this ranch!! Loved the hayride and wish we would of had time for the maze but everyone coming out seemed to like it.

We had a great time here tonight. The owner was absolutely amazing. Kindest guy ever. They weren’t very busy tonight and he took the time to have a good conversation with us and show us around the place after we did the maze. Got to see his dog Flap Jack too. Thank you Hardy’s reindeer ranch!

What a magical place! The only activity we did was feeding the reindeer but it was so much fun. They did their best to make the experience as accessible as possible, and if you can push through the gravel you'll be fine in a wheelchair. Can't wait to go back!

Josh gave us a wonderful reindeer tour complete with fun facts, history and even taught us how to feed the reindeer. We were very impressed by this ranch and it was neat just to walk around the property. I definitely recommend visiting this place it has something to do for all ages. Also it’s a paved road the entire way. Keep in mind that they are only opened Sept- Dec.

The building is very nice and the staff have always been kind and helpful. They have a cool store downstairs with items being retired. But they don't seem to have the proper resources (security staff) to deal with people who can't act right. Mentally ill people hang around and it's not unusual for someone to be disturbing half the library with their schizo babble in the evenings. In addition, the wifi gets overloaded during peak times and stops working, and noise really carries through the building.

The staff is super friendly and helpful. The facility is updated and clean. There are activities outside of the usual day to day library atmosphere. There is a teen center, which is actually very cool! There are reading programs and fun events every month. What a great resource for our community!

This is a pretty nice public library. The staff members I've had interactions with have all been absolutely wonderful to me. A few weeks ago, I lost one of my wireless earbuds inside the library. I searched high and low for a couple of hours and couldn't find it anywhere. I knew my missing earbud was inside due to the fact I could see it disconnect from my phone when I walked outside, and reconnect upon walking back inside. I came to the conclusion my missing earbud was most likely gone forever. 🥺😞 After a few weeks, I decided it's worth a shot to check back at the front desk with lost & found. My hopes were not high, however to my surprise, they returned my long lost earbud to me safe and sound. I am forever grateful to the unknown staff member who located my lost item, and the staff member who returned it to me. Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart. You guys / gals are all awesome and it's great to see a public entity as well ran as the Green St. Champaign Public Library.

Nestled on the southwest side of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus, Memorial Stadium is a remarkable football venue that boasts a seating capacity of over 60,000. Established in 1923, this iconic stadium serves as a tribute to the brave students who lost their lives during World War I. The striking facade features engraved pillars bearing their names, making it not just a sports arena but also a poignant memorial.
Phenomenal stadium. I've been here several times throughout my four years of undergrad here at the University of Illinois. Been here for welcome events held by the Student Alumni Ambassadors along with several Fighting Illini football games during the fall seasons. Just recently visited the stadium for my graduation and I was truly amazed by how well organized and performed the entire graduation ceremony was. Memorial Stadium is one of the attractions of Champaign-Urbana that make me proud that I chose this university.

Big Ten football. Wow. This isn’t the big house or the horseshoe or the Rose Bowl or the LA Coliseum. But it has a special thing all its own. We were treated to 50 yard line seats by a client together with parking pass is only a few steps from our seats. We were treated with respect and of course, respected our opponent, which won the game today. The staff working at the venue were all friendly, courteous, and hopeful, especially when the heat forced me to sit in the first aid station for a few minutes to cool off. Thank you to everyone at Memorial Stadium for a wonderful day.

The sound in the stadium was muffled and none of the vendors take cash. Credit card only. Had to walk back to my car because you can only bring in very small or clear bags. Other than that there were lots of staff in place to direct people, clean restrooms, and a nice clean stadium with ample seating.

🏟️ Memorial Stadium, University of Illinois 🏈 First off—props to the stadium crew! Memorial Stadium is impressively clean and super easy to navigate. No maze-like corridors or mysterious staircases leading to nowhere. Just good signage and a layout that doesn’t make you feel like you’re in a cornfield escape room. 🌽🧭 🍔🥤 Food and beverage vendors? Plentiful. You won’t go hungry unless you’re trying to survive on kale chips alone (which, thankfully, were nowhere in sight). Nachos, hot dogs, sodas—classic stadium fare that hits the spot when you’re juggling four kids and a questionable game-day diet. 🛡️ Security has leveled up with new metal detectors that look like they were borrowed from a sci-fi movie. Efficient and fast—no awkward pat-downs or feeling like you’re entering Area 51. 🚗 Now, parking… oof. If you don’t have a pass, prepare for a cardio session. We parked nearly a mile away, which felt more like a pilgrimage than a pre-game stroll. They do offer shuttles, but most were packed tighter than our stadium seats. Speaking of… 🪑 Seating was… intimate. And not in a romantic way. We’re average-sized guys with four kids, and even with an extra ticket for “breathing room,” we were practically sitting in each other’s laps. I’ve had more elbow space in a clown car. 🤡🚗 🎉 But let’s end on a high note—the entertainment during halftime and throughout the game was genuinely fun and engaging. Great energy, crowd involvement, and just enough flair to keep the kids entertained and the adults from checking their fantasy football scores too often. 👍 Overall? A great experience with a few logistical hiccups. Would we go again? Absolutely. But next time, we’re bringing a tape measure and a scooter. #MemorialStadiumVibes #CleanButCramped #ParkingOlympics2025 #NachosWereElite #KidsHadABlast #ElbowRoomIsAMyth

Nice stadium. No wait time in the restroom, big plus. Leaving was slow due to very narrow exits and walkways. Overall, great time. GO BUCKEYES!!

We had an amazing time at the USC vs. Illinois game this weekend, even though USC came up short. The atmosphere was incredible, and both the staff and Illini fans were outstanding—welcoming, respectful, and courteous, even with us proudly wearing USC gear. It made the experience that much more enjoyable. The only downsides were the parking situation and the long lines for food and drinks. We ended up taking an Uber from our hotel due to parking challenges, and concessions definitely could use some improvement to keep things moving faster. Overall, it was a great experience, and we’d gladly come back for another game.

Great facility to watch a game in! Everything from the amenities to the tailgating and the stadium is top notch. Makes for a great environment!

University of Illinois-Champaign/Urbana's Memorial Stadium is one of the best historical college football stadiums that every Big 10 and College Football fan needs to attend a game at (attending games since the 1990's). The Illinois alumni, fans, student section, and band are doing a masterful job of creating a great collegiate environment with all the amenities (clean bathrooms, good food/beverages, etc.) It's definitely one of the Mecca's of College Football, due it historic architecture and player monuments surrounding Memorial Stadium!

The State Farm Center is a well-known venue that has hosted Fighting Illini basketball games, concerts, and theater productions for many years. Recently remodeled with modern upgrades, it offers rooms that can be rented for a more secluded experience while still enjoying fantastic views. The staff are friendly and helpful, making entry easy even during virus protocols. Purdue pulled off an incredible win in 2OT during the first game at this stadium. Despite the changes, many still refer to it as the Assembly Hall.
Illini College defeated Michigan. This football stadium is fantastic, beautiful design and the tailgating area is great for before and after game parties. Lineman Offense JC Davis is our nephew. He and his teammates played an exciting game. The visual graphics of the stadium kept the audience reved up and made the whole afternoon perfect.

The show was sweet. But we about froze outside waiting to get in. And if you read my texas roadhouse, I bet you can't guess who I seen walking down the hill towards the line. Ol Bubba. Still no coat, just shirt and overalls. Walking like he was on a mission. Later on, during the show, I looked over and there he went again, up the stairs. I was starting to wonder if he was following me. For him to be such a big dude, he was all over the place. But the show was great. I think I'll go back and watch a game next season.

The final REO Speedwagon concert was awesome. The process from parking to entering to scanning and so on went smoothly.

We attended a wrestling event here through the University of Illinois' Fighting Illini Wrestling Team. We had such a great experience. From the security at the front and throughout the building, to the staff at the food center. The restrooms were clean too. Plenty of parking and very easy to navigate!

We were here for UICU graduation. Great place for an event. They were well organized and very efficient in getting people out easily and safely when the graduation ceremony was over.

Went to U of I graduation. The policy of no purses/bags in the Assembly Hall (because that is the building's real name) for a graduation is idiotic and an example of the mindless bureaucracy that guides most universities.

First time sitting so close to the court but I recommend experiencing it at least once.

Meadowbrook Park is a 130-acre expanse located in the southern part of Urbana. It was acquired by the city in stages since 1967 and features a variety of attractions, including a farm, play structure, restored prairie, gardens, and trails. The park's landscape includes recreated tallgrass prairie with winding trails and the Wandell Sculpture Garden.
Traveling with my dog (Labor Day weekend), this was a great road trip stop to stretch and enjoy a walk through the park with nicely paved paths. I parked in the Race Street lot and then stayed for an hour, to include: Hickman Wildflower Walk, Wandell Sculpture Garden loop, and back down the Wildflower Walk to the restroom and back to the car. Plan more time if you have kids with you (there's a playground) and/or if you want to walk the loop around the entire park.

They redid the park recently and updated it from the old wooden one to make it more safe and kid friendly. It is a fantastic park, very large and tons of things to do. They also have a ton of walking paths around the park.

This park is amazing. There are several sculptures and aesthetic structures along the path. The walking path is also huge. I wish I knew here before. This place is a hidden gem.

A nice park with many artistic structures. This park is very close to Orchard Downs university housing. There is a big walking loop with a track.

This is a great trail for walking, jogging, or biking. I walked the 1.55 mile trail almost every day I was visiting my family. Not too busy at 7 am. Saw deer almost every day.

It's an Art / Nature mashup. Beautiful paved trail through stunning prairie. In summertime the prairie is a rainbow of wildflowers and berries. Large sculptures from a variety of artist scattered all throughout. Such a nice place to walk and run. Also features small sections of wetlands, stream, several side trails, pavilion, porta potty (👍), and large wooden playground.
