Salmon Creek Regional Park/Klineline Pond

Park
Nature & Parks
Salmon Creek Regional Park/Klineline Pond is a fantastic neighborhood oasis that offers a variety of outdoor activities for everyone. With its inviting pond perfect for swimming, splash pad, and well-equipped playgrounds, it’s an ideal spot for family fun. The park features picnic tables and BBQ pits—though it's wise to arrive early to secure one! Accessible restrooms and lifeguards on duty from 11 AM to 7 PM ensure a safe experience.
Had a great time walking around the pond and exploring. Highly recommend. Has fields, easy hikes, playground, restrooms, picnic tables.
Rachel C — Google review
I couldn't find the trail at first, and I was surprised you have to pay to park here. Next time, I'll park further away to avoid the fee. The "trail" is more like a bike trail, similar to the springwater corridor in Portland. The park itself is quite nice and well maintained. It was crowded when I went, on a sunday evening.
Aubrey F — Google review
We love coming here to ride bikes. My children attended a birthday party. There are great trees for hanging pinatas and the covered areas were perfect for the party. They can be reserved, or fcfs basis. In the summer we like to play in the small water park. Some people swim here, I wont let my children as the water quality is questionable.
Tiffany H — Google review
I've been coming here since the late 80's before they added trails and a sports park, and before it was nearly destroyed by floods in 1996. It's changed a lot. It's a good place to walk the trails, or walk your dog, or take a bike ride. Come in the evening if you really want to get some peace and quiet. You can get some amazing sunsets here, and you can see lots of birds like red wing blackbirds, killdeer, mourning doves, rabbits, and ducks. The trails are really nice. There's more walking and trails than you think for a smallish place. There's a very nice park for picnics as well. The pond is good for mostly fishing during Spring and Summer when they stock it. You can swim here, but the water can be gross at times from the birds and fish. They also have the Spring Fishing Derby here in April which is amazing for kids. Yes, they charge you for parking here in the peak months. Overall a nice place to come kick back, swim, fish, picnic, bike, walk your dog, or watch some ball games in the Spring.
Nick B — Google review
I'm sure it's a great place but sadly I couldn't go in because I had my dog with me. Do not believe the comments, dogs are not allowed here. People seem to ignore that though.
Sarah S — Google review
Low key practice disc golf baskets are my favorite thing, but theres a splash pad and playing ground i haven't even checked out. The creek is pretty neat for chucking pepples or casting a reel into.
Alvin N — Google review
The trail is well maintained and busy. The river and pond are pretty. There are activity fields for a variety of sports. There is an eagle family by the river that are neat to watch. There are restrooms, plenty of parking, and most of the park is accessible. My only issue is lack of shade on the trail, but otherwise, it's a beautiful walk.
Squiffy B — Google review
It’s beautiful and peaceful. There’s walking trails, fishing, and swimming. The park fee is $3. There’s also free life jackets to borrow.

Pittock Mansion

Local history museum
Sights & Landmarks
Pittock Mansion, a 23-room museum built in 1914, offers visitors a glimpse into the lavish lifestyle of the affluent in the early 20th century. The mansion, commissioned by Henry Pittock, features period furnishings and rotating exhibits such as 'Dining in the Gilded Age,' showcasing tableware from that era. The French Renaissance-style chateau boasts scenic views of Portland and the Cascade Mountains.
Beautiful!! I think it’d be cool if some of the rooms weren’t roped off — like the upstairs bathroom— but I also understand why they aren’t. I really liked that the servants quarters and such were on display (kinda). That was super cool. I loved all of the teapots and china on display as well
Beau ( — Google review
Cool hangout spot with great panoramic views. The mansion itself is small but nice and takes about 30 minutes to explore. Bathrooms inside and a small guesthouse you can also see inside is also included with the ticket. The main attraction is the views outside the mansion overlooking Portland and beyond. The view itself is free just go inside the house you have to pay. Also don’t forget to pay for parking. Have fun!
Guillermo R — Google review
It's the best place to see Portland. I came for the view and took some beautiful photos of the city and nature. The inside of the house offers a glimpse into a historical life. There are some wonderful historical artifacts, including old-time home layouts, household items, and kitchenware. I'd call it a museum. I found parking. I paid $5-6. The ticket was around $20. It was worth it for the view.
Rana B — Google review
I've lived in Oregon for over 40 years and visited Pittock Mansion for the first time yesterday. It is spectacular with amazing views of downtown Portland. The house is cleverly decorated- each room features authentic furnishings from different eras, dating back to the early 1800's. The grounds are immaculate. Be sure to take in the views of Portland from the backyard overlook. Also, take a hike through Forest Park which borders the grounds!
Lee M — Google review
Gorgeous grounds to walk and views are amazing too. The mansions architecture and furnishings are so impressive for their time and still beautiful even now. Spent about an hour to hour and a half and it was want busy at all, this was on a Wednesday morning. They have an elevator if you need it. Very nice staff. Parking is $2 an hour or $8 for the day. They had a couple handicap spaces which are very close to the mansion.
Kimberly C — Google review
Beautiful views and hikes. The mansion was amazing to visit. The volunteers were eager to tellvus the history and interesting facts. I was impressed with the history and how they displayed the information. The price was reasonable. Definitely a must see.
Sandra Y — Google review
After a long hike to the Pittock Mansion, the view made it worth the trouble. It offered sweeping views of the city and the best part is, you do not need to pay for it. You have to pay to go inside the mansion but most people were just walking around and going to the view.
Gustavo J — Google review
Amazing historical place! Do the tourist! Was so worth it! Lots of information you will only get going through the tour. Had a great time the whole way through. Gorgeous place!

Portland Japanese Garden

Garden
Nature & Parks
Nestled in a serene 5.5-acre space, the Portland Japanese Garden offers a stunning contrast to its surroundings. The garden showcases various styles and features a waterfall, teahouse, and mountain views. Unlike the nearby rose gardens, this AAA GEM attraction is a study in shades of green with delicate Japanese irises and water lilies adorning koi ponds.
I absolutely love this garden. I recommend more for couples and families with teenagers instead of young kids. There is no play ground. I also recommend coming in the fall ( late October) for cooler weather and beautiful leaf color changes. If you bring in a tripod, you are charged extra at the ticket booth. There is a shuttle available to get up to the garden and pack to the parking lot. The small gift shop and cafe are definitely worth checking out in the gardens too
Christina D — Google review
The gardens are absolutely beautiful. Very well maintained and clean, including the restrooms. There are many photo ops all around the grounds with a fantastic view of Portland with Mt. Hood in the background. There are memberships available for single and multiple on line and at the window and gift shop. If you purchase from the gift shop your entry fee is refunded and it affords you entry for a year and a 20% discount in the gift shop. It's definitely worth the trip. My only issue was with the parking. Not great but there is a free shuttle that goes around.
Ronald S — Google review
Fantastic visit to this Japanese garden. Our first time visiting Oregon from the UK and thiz was high one our list of things to see - and it didnt disappoint. The planting, pathways and structures looked fantastic. It was busy but not overly so and everything was well maintained. Food in the cafe was great as well. Plenty of nearby car parking and short queues to enter.
GraduatedWithoutHonor — Google review
This is such an amazing and magical place. We visited during the fall and were blessed with beautiful fall foliage. Be sure to get the earliest timed entry tickets and arrive 30 minutes before opening to ensure you get parking. The first 5 minutes is a slight incline, but the rest of the gardens are relatively flat. Go, you won’t be disappointed. Are,sure you get timed entry
Herb S — Google review
Breathtaking Gardens, But Be Prepared for the Wait We visited the Portland Japanese Garden about a week ago—absolutely stunning this time of year. The colors were unreal, and we couldn’t have timed our visit better. Every turn of the path was like stepping into a painting: moss-covered stones, fiery red maples, and soft autumn light filtering through the trees. Unfortunately, our experience started off on the wrong foot. We had an 11:15 a.m. tour booked and arrived an hour early, paid for parking, and went to get our tickets—only to be told there was a two-hour wait to enter. The website hadn’t mentioned this possibility, so our only choices were to wait around for two hours or leave, come back later, and pay for parking again. The staff seemed well-prepared for this kind of situation, which tells me it’s a common issue, but it would make a huge difference if visitors were better informed ahead of time. Thankfully, our visit happened on a Bank of America “Museums on Us” day, so admission was free, which softened the blow. Once inside, the frustration faded away—these gardens truly deserve five stars. But the lack of clear communication at the start left a disappointing first impression. Go for the beauty, but plan ahead for crowds and wait times.
R. W — Google review
We came at the perfect time for the leaves. The garden was aesthetically beautiful and vibrant. Gardens are well-maintained and in traditional Japanese fashion. It certainly had the feeling of being authentically curated. Pro tip: you have to buy tickets for a specific time so plan accordingly.
BackpackingAndy — Google review
This amazing Landscaping achievement recreates the classical, contemplative nature experience of the historic Japanese gardens. It is a wonderful place to visit anytime of the year. Even when it is raining, the middle of winter, and the leaves have fallen from the deciduous trees, the Landscaping still invite you to pause in contemplation. In fact, in winter, and inclement weather, you may have this place mostly to yourself without the crowds of people to distract you. Even in the peak summer season, however, admissions, our time restricted, so it’s never overcrowded. Parking can be an issue at the popular times, and you should count for that.
PappaJohn F — Google review
Beautiful, well maintained garden. But it is popular. Parking can be scarce and you can expect crowds. People may walk through your pictures, just be patient and try and be respectful to others... and more importantly, the plants.

International Rose Test Garden

Park
The International Rose Test Garden, located in Washington Park between the historic Portland neighborhoods of Arlington Heights and Goose Hollow, is a city-maintained garden that was established in 1917. It boasts over 10,000 rose plants displayed in meticulously manicured gardens. The garden offers stunning views of Downtown Portland and Mt. Hood and is a popular destination for both locals and tourists.
I read somewhere that this rose garden is Portland's most popular attraction. It's massive it is also part of the larger forest park region that houses many more cool parks. Summer is when the roses bloom and they look and smell amazing. Flower lovers can spend hours here walking through each row of roses. And astonishing how many species of roses live here. The other day I saw a ketchup and mustard rose. When you're tired of roses, you can then walk to the nearby ampitheater to chill and watch one of their many summer shows for free. Parking here can be tough it's coming here during the day. If you don't want to fight for spots, considered coming early morning or after hours.
Deedee C — Google review
It is peaceful and beautiful to walk in nature. I learned there is a 9-11 tribute rose. The variety is amazing. I came in late October when the smell wasn't so strong. Many flowers were hanging on their last breath. But it was a nice cloudy day and I enjoyed walked the park alone. They have a few trails you can walk but I wasn't properly dressed. Had I known I would have brought running shoes.
Julio P — Google review
We had such an amazing time walking around and seeing/smelling the Rose Test Garden! I highly recommend timing your visit so you can join the free tour that begins at the gift shop. It is really lovely and points out historical facts about the garden and the different roses there. The gift shop is small, but has some great things in there. You'll do quite a bit of walking in the Rose Test Garden, so make sure you're wearing comfortable shoes! Parking can be tricky, but be patient and a spot will open up.
Sarah B — Google review
first time visit with my friends and we really enjoyed our time- i think we just walked around smelling and admiring the roses for at least an hour and a half. i had no idea there were so many kinds of roses. it is so well maintained and beautiful with a rich history and a staple of portland. please visit! be sure to check if you will be there when the roses are blooming. we were there in early october and there were still plenty of beautiful roses to see
Allison — Google review
What an incredible garden to stroll around and be amazed at the variety of roses with every turn. I went 10/28/25, so it was fall season and the leaves on the trees brought magic to this oasis on top of the hill. I spent more time venturing over to the Sacajawea Statue, Lewis & Clark column, then over to Coming of the White Man Statue and through the Holocaust area. If you are looking for a place of solitude and serene views, then check this park out.
St C — Google review
Went exploring and car across this place. It was amazing. The flowers were still in bloom even though we went pretty late in the season. Very clean and it smelled so wonderful. Will definitely be making this one of my regular walks
Sabrina G — Google review
Wow. I’ve been to quite a few rose gardens and none are this large. Even in late Oct there were still lots of blooms. I can’t imagine the smell in summer. Plan for at least an hour if you want to see the whole thing. We loved stopping and smelling the roses 🥰
Ninette — Google review
This place was great and so pretty. Out of the hundreds, I mean hundreds of roses I saw there wasn't one blue one....a bit disappointed. Lol Steady amount of people enjoying the day. Parking I'd say wasn't hard to find but it wasn't easy either. Nice day people can be the all day. The parking price wasn't bad in my opinion, considering where I come from and pay to park. Well kept up and beautiful.

Oregon Zoo

Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
Environmental organization
The Oregon Zoo, located in the lush Washington Park, spans 64 acres and is home to nearly 3,000 animals from 90 different species, including 19 endangered ones. The zoo's exhibits are divided into five themed areas: the Great Northwest, Pacific Shores, Discovery Zone, Africa, and Elephant Lands. Visitors can observe a variety of wildlife such as elephants, polar bears, river otters, penguins and lions.
We have been to a lot of zoos and this one felt like you could get super close to all the animals. The walk was very well laid out and easy to follow even without carrying a map. The animals were well cared for, and the terrain was just beautiful. If I had an negative about the park, it might be that at times it was hard to find the trashcan, but what I really really liked was you could always find a bench and somewhere to sit to enjoy the wildlife and to rest. I do think this zoo is very well worth a trip. In about 2 1/2 hours, you can see everything and experience just some wonderful terrain to walk-through. It wasn’t too difficult or hard to climb and I always felt like I could do it in a wheelchair if I had to. One of the most interesting things I saw in this zoo was a children’s sandbox play area that looked like just the kind of things. My children would have loved when they were 2-6 years old. Parking was very interesting and you had to download a specific app, but there were kiosk where you could get a parking place without having to use the app so I was very thankful for that.
Glenn C — Google review
I've been here twice now as a guest of a annual pass holding zoo member. Delightful each time. Animals appear to be in great shape and have gorgeous habitats. They even accommodated for my service animal with no issues providing a special map to help guide through the zoo. I really enjoy coming here. And with the Rose garden and many other things connected around the zoo it's a lovely place to hang out for the day.
Athena A — Google review
The Portland Zoo is a great place to visit, and we had a delightful time. The layout makes it easy to walk, but since most of it is concrete, definitely bring good walking shoes. The exhibits are well-designed, the animals look well-cared-for, and there’s a nice variety to see without feeling overwhelming. The grounds are clean, the signage is clear, and the paths are stroller- and kid-friendly. There are plenty of spots to stop, rest, or grab a snack, and the whole place feels well-maintained and thoughtfully organized—a great family outing and absolutely worth the visit.
Savanah E — Google review
The zoo itself was amazing. The structural aspect of the zoo is great, easy paths to follow that allows you to see all of the animals very easily without confusing path directions and such. The variety of animals is also very good. The Zoo itself has 3 restaurants/cafes all together, so if you do not want to bring food there is plenty to choose from. The grass are by the food options is also great for kids to let go of steam, have a great picnic or just to enjoy a nice break. The only thing I wish the zoo would advertise on their website is which animals are currently not available, as there were many such as the lions, spotted dogs, cheetahs etc that were not available to see due to different reasons. However, all in all is it a great zoo!
R R — Google review
Absolutely love this zoo! You’ll find a fantastic range of animals, including adorable new babies like an elephant, turtle, and ape, all thriving in spacious habitats. Visit now for minimal weekend crowds and affordable admission—perfect for a day of exploration! Bring your own snacks to save on food and skip the lines. On the downside, there’s a parking fee, and it can get super crowded in late spring and summer, making it tricky to see the animals, especially with kids. Plus, tickets are only available online now—no more at the gate! Pro tip: If you’re military, part of a group, a nonprofit, or an eligible family, you could snag discounted tickets up to 50%, so check eligibility before buying tickets!
AJ — Google review
Its a great place. Love this zoo. I get a membership so I can go often. I do like to bring in my own lunch and drinks. But they have food and drink available.
Jennifer W — Google review
Amazing zoo. Came here on a whim and we were blown away. I have never seen animals at a zoo so healthy looking, active and playful. The design was also great that it took you on a loop, and we loved that it was incorporated into the nature around us.
Darcey P — Google review
Absolutely beautiful park! Loved the mist stations all around to help keep cool on hot days. Only surprise was that the entire park is cashless but you can get a loadable MasterCard for use around the park at a kiosk that takes cash. Animals are VERY well cared for and have nice sized habitats, customized for their species. 10/10 would absolutely love to go again.

Cultural landmark
Lan Su Chinese Garden is a serene oasis nestled in the bustling Old Town/Chinatown neighborhood of Portland. This tranquil botanical garden showcases rare plants native to China and features exquisite decorative stonework. A collaboration with Portland's sister city Suzhou, this garden offers a glimpse into the life of a wealthy 16th-century Chinese family through its ornate structures and exquisitely landscaped courtyards.
Beautiful garden right in the city. Peaceful setting even in a bustling city. The garden stays much cooler than the outside city and the noise is buffered by the birds and water. With plenty of opportunities to sit and enjoy the scenery, make sure you check out the events. We took the free tour which was very interesting. There is even a Tea House and gift shop.
Kim K — Google review
What a peaceful meditative oasis! There is clearly some special energy here, transplanted by the artisans from Suzhou China who crafted the design and contents of this garden. We especially loved the tea house with an impressive variety of teas and baked goods, with tables overlooking the picture perfect lake and garden. The gift shop is also well stocked with a wide variety of items. I can totally see spending hours just quietly reading or soaking in the special special ambience of this meditative space.
Leonard S — Google review
Beautiful Chinese Garden, the tea house here is one of the best I’ve been to in the States! It’s so well done, it transports you to a whole new place. Spent a good couple of hours here just sipping tea, walking around the gardens and being in Zen mode.
Aaron T — Google review
What a beautiful hole in the wall place to visit! Lots of good photo op places and felt very culturally grounding for all races, especially if you’re Chinese. Reminded me of my roots, the koy fish pond right in the center was impressive and having the tea house to enjoy some cold tea on a hot day like today was amazing. Top tier decor and ambiance. So glad I came to visit this garden. The area outside the garden may be a little sketch but we have not encountered anything negative especially during the daytime, it’s ok. Metered street parking.

Very beautiful complex that has regular tours and a great tea house in the back. The beverages and snack were delicious and the ambiance was lovely. Highly recommend for folks looking to do some work or for a few hours of calm leisure!

It is a beautiful place fills with tranquility and culture. It is a gem in downtown Portland. When I was there sitting on the bench inside the pavilion, watching fish swam between the waterlilies and lotus, I forgot my anxiety and time. Even after I left that place I can still see its’ beautiful pictures on my brain.

Specialty Museums
OMSI, short for Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, is a popular attraction in Portland offering a wide range of interactive and hands-on activities for visitors of all ages. The museum features rotating shows, science labs, submarine tours, and a planetarium. It also hosts monthly 21+ events.
I went last week and really enjoyed the science museum. I can only imagine how much cooler it would be if I was a small child! Bright colours, high ceiling, lots of interactive educational activities- this place has it all! I did not see the Jurassic Park exhibit or go to the planetarium, but I would love to go see both the next time I'm in the area! Designed for kids, but people of all ages can find something interesting to learn about here. The gift shop is great too!!

We went on a Tuesday before heading back home after we had been hanging out in Portland for a few days. Parking was close and easy although required us to download yet another parking app. We went and saw the Lego Jurassic World exhibit which was very cool. Fun interactive displays in addition to the major builds on display. Then out into the Turbine Room for a bunch of hands on science. Everyone had a good time.

This was my first visit to OMSI, and I can see why so many people love it. The hands-on exhibits and interactive science areas are really well done — perfect for learning while having fun. It’s a great place to explore for a few hours and sparks curiosity in every age group. We also went to see the Earth movie, which was visually beautiful but mostly focused on climate change, so it wasn’t quite what I expected. Still, I enjoyed the overall experience and would definitely come back to explore more exhibits next time.

Went to OMSI with a friend and had such a great time! The Monsters of the Abyss: Aquatic Predators Past + Present exhibit was fascinating — we even met a Caiman lizard named Crunch, who’s related to the prehistoric Megalania! The exhibit was full of interesting creatures and incredible displays. We also went to the planetarium, toured the USS Blueback submarine, and spent time in the engineering labs, which were so much fun. Everything was super engaging and well put together. OMSI is always a blast — definitely worth a visit for adults too, not just kids!

Nov 2025 visit Mainly only downstairs with 2 rooms: the monsters exhibit and the large activities room. I visited for about an hour. The Monsters of the Abyss exhibit is very interesting and informative. The individual stations are very well made with signage in both English and Spanish. There was a paper passport to stamp at 6 stations. I wasn't ready to see a planetarium show so I visited the activities room. All geared towards younger children, perhaps younger grade school. It was quite busy and full of kids and parents. There's a water fountain and bottle refill station in the activities room and restrooms. I did enjoy watching the metal balls on the wire tracks. Quite similar to the one in SJC Terminal A and the San Jose Tech Museum. I visited with the BoA MOU program.

We went to Brickman and it was amazing!! Good mix of exhibits and hands on. The rest of the museum wasn't what I think of when I think museum. No big exhibits, not a lot of info. But they had a room that was an engineers dream. Lots of problems to solve and hands on activities. My kids could have spent all day in that one room. Had a great time, but cost seemed high for what you got. Didn't but tickets ahead of time as AAA discount is offered in person.

This is a lovely museum. Has a large interactive section for kids, also some cool exhibits. We didn’t get to see one but the films looked great

We LOVE OMSI! Went ahead and got the membership which if you have young children, just the upstairs area alone is worth the membership but the facility is expansive and there is so much to do to keep people of all ages entertained and gripped with wonder and education. We have been several times now and have yet to see all OMSI has to offer!

Nestled along the scenic byways of Oregon, the Portland Women's Forum State Scenic Viewpoint, also known as Chanticleer Point, offers breathtaking vistas of the Columbia River Gorge and the iconic Vista House. Established in the 1940s to protect this stunning area from logging activities, it serves not only as a viewpoint but also as a historical landmark. Visitors can enjoy easy access with a convenient parking lot right next to the viewpoint—no hiking necessary!
Know before you go! It's 20 minutes from the airport, free lookout with decent amount of parking, has never been more than half full whenever I've visited. Pictures really don't do it justice you have to see it in person!

One of the most iconic Columbia Gorge viewpoints! Fun to meet up with other photographers here. No services.

A great place to view the gorge looking east and on the way to Crown Point you can see for miles I didn't take it but there is a trail rated "easy" in the media to the gorge floor. There must be lots of switchbacks to be easy.

Online can destroy gems like this, many people stop here because it's the first overlook in the tithe Gorge. My favorite time to go when there's 3 inches or more of ice on everything! No one around!

Have never stopped here before, but road to Crown Poont was closed so...nice viewpoint, plenty of parking, a few of the info plaques around-worth the few minutes it takes!

It has a remarkable overlook view of the river. We also met some ladies painting.

Historical value in addition to the gorgeous view. Visited in the end of June and it was stunning. What a great place to bring a camera! Perfectly quiet, sunny and no wind. View of the Vista house makes for a great photo opp. Drive safe, the road is like a coil up from I-84. As always, pack it in-pack it out. Do not leave your Starbucks cups behind (or any other trash). Marker has historical significance. (See videos).

We had a blast on the Zipline Adventure today! The guides were fun, experienced and very focused on keeping us safe while having an excellent time. I highly recommend this as a birthday gift or just a fun way to spend time together. We tried having a meal on the bar deck but were unable to get service. Surprising for such a beautiful and expensive venue. No worries...we drove to Vancouver and had a delicious meal at the Cove. Highly recommended! 😎

We had an excellent time at this aerial adventure park! Our guide was amazing and the course itself was challenging but very enjoyable! My son, who is nonverbal, had an absolute blast! The views are amazing! I highly recommend!!

My partner and I ziplined for the first time and it was a blast! We arrived early (recommend) and were warmly greeted by Shane upon checking in. From there on out, Stan and Jack guided us through this amazing experience with safety talks, proper zip lining techniques, combined with their easy going fun personality and infectious humor. We drove in from Portland, stayed the night at Skamania Lodge. I would highly recommend this adventure and any others they offer, due to the incredible staff! Thank you for making my birthday special 🎉❤️❗

My husband and I were looking for a weekend to get away and happened to run across Skamania Lodge in our Google search. besides the fact it was a beautiful drive to the lodge, the lodge itself was more than what we could have hoped for. we were amazed at how many activities were available and decided to try zip lining for the first time. We had an absolutely awesome time! We love the restaurants at the lodge and the staff was friendly and helpful. We plan on coming back and trying out the glamping tents next time. Would highly recommend this to our friends

We got married on 9.20.2025 and spent a few days in Carson. My husband surprise me with something I had wanted to do for many, many years. This zipline experience was so much fun. Even though im afraid of heights but have always wanted to do it. Our guides made it so much fun, easy and im so happy I did it. I truly recommend doing the zipling it is well worth it.

My husband and I were in the gorge for the week and wanted to do something a little adventurous. The zip line tour was fantastic. Our trip guides were funny, kind, supportive and made the whole experience a blast. I’m very grateful we chose an off hours time to visit because having a group of 5 and not 10 made a big difference. All of the zips were a blast and made you feel like you were flying. We felt safe and well cared for. Having the extra pictures (despite the high price) was a great bonus. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.

My wife and I had an amazing adventure with the E-Bikes for our first anniversary. The bikes were fairly priced for what you get and provided a lot of fun. We enjoyed riding around the area, crossing the Bridge of the Gods, and exploring the fish hatchery. It was an unforgettable experience, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and unique way to explore the area.

Wahkeena Falls

Nature & Parks
Hiking area
Waterfalls
This 242-ft. waterfall along the Historic Columbia River Highway can be crossed via a hiking trail.
Parking is awesome for these falls and hiked all the way up to fairy falls! It was an amazing trip, definitely wear good sturdy hiking shoes/boots. The way down, I thought would be easier, but it's kinda steep so the balls of my feet were hurting by the time I got back down to flat land. It would be a good idea to walk over to Multhanoma falls from here! Its only half a mile and this way your already parked (parking is free in the lot across from Wahkeena Falls)
Anna A — Google review
Amazingly beautiful area! There is a short but fairly steep hike up the left side of the stream with some great photo spots. To the right is a 0.2 mile paved trail that leads up to a bridge with a spectacular view. Also, another benefit is free parking here and a 0.5 mile hike/walk to Multnomah Falls (where parking is $20).
Alan K — Google review
I was here on October 8th. From this spot, where parking is for free, you can do a 5 mile loop ending at Multnomah falls then walk back to this parking lot, like 5-10 minutes. This 5 mile loop is very pretty and has a number of falls. The only issue with it is that you'll keep hearing the traffic. But this way is easier than starting at Multnomah where a steep ascend is needed. I spent 4 hours here but people can finish it way faster.
Mais K — Google review
We recently visited Wahkeena Falls in Oregon, and our whole family absolutely loved it! The trail is beautiful, the views are amazing, and it’s the perfect spot to enjoy nature without a long hike. The area has plenty of peaceful places to sit, making it a great spot for a family picnic , we brought lunch and it was one of the highlights of our trip. One thing to note: the restroom near the trailhead was closed, likely because of the season. It wasn’t a big issue for us, but good to know ahead of time. Overall, Wahkeena Falls is a wonderful place to relax, explore, and enjoy the beauty of the Columbia River Gorge. Highly recommend for families looking for a scenic and memorable outdoor experience!
Mohaymen — Google review
This place is amazing. These were the last waterfalls we visited on our Oregon photography tour. I am sure glad we didn't skip this place. These were the most photogenic waterfalls that we saw on our trip. There were quite a few people, but adequate parking was available down the hill and there was scenery right in the parking area and all around. Surprisingly there aren't any fees charged to hike around this place. You can pretty much find the perfect angle to get any camera shot you want.
Forest W — Google review
Beautiful fall but hard to get a good photo of entire thing due to formation. No hiking involved. You can park here and walk on trail to all the other popular falls, like Multnomah, since parking is tougher in the other popular falls.
Winston D — Google review
My friend says this is her favorite. I believe Multnomah Falls was better overall. But there is a short hike and limited access here so you can't really sense the powerful presence of the waterfalls. But you should take a look.
Julio P — Google review
This is just another gorgeous fall along the Columbia River gorge. You can see some of it at the base. But best to hike up about a quarter of a mile. .25 miles. You can see some of the river as it comes down thru the bushes and trees and rocks. If you hike up the .25 Mike's to the bridge, you get a gorgeous view of the falls. If you are doing photography, be prepared for the mist. Take image from the left side of the falls a littlw bit back. You will be outside the mist. Images also from the right If you are a little bit back. But love the images I got right by the bridge on the right side. Yea mist from the fall. You can keep hiking and find fairy falls. Next time I will do that hike. This is worth the time. If coming from Portland take the Bridal Veil Falls exit and keep going on historic route 30 for about 2.5 miles. There is a good amount of parking and a picnic area and bathrooms. If you keep going another mile or 2 you will hit Multnomah falls.

Bridge
Sights & Landmarks
The Bridge of the Gods, a historic toll bridge spanning 1,858 feet over the Columbia River Gorge, has been an iconic landmark since its opening in 1926. Named after a natural rock bridge from Puyallup tribal lore, it connects Oregon and Washington with a $2 toll for vehicles while pedestrians can cross for free. The steel truss structure offers a unique vantage point to admire the surrounding landscape and is a must-visit destination in Cascade Locks.
It’s a tight bridge, if you get nervous around cars or tight spaces don’t go. But if you’re an adventurer: do it! Cool bridge! And we saw some PTC hikers along the way.
Silas W — Google review
The drive out to it had beautiful scenery and the bridge itself is impressive. There was a path off the side of the parking lot that led down to the train tracks below the bridge. That was a cool place to view the bridge and get some extra steps in. The café and gift shop next to it unfortunately weren't open and we didn't want to pay for a tour or toll so we didn't drive across. But the views and reading of the story of the bridge were enough.
Jenny F — Google review
Cascade locks is so beautiful, great place to spend a day. As for camping in the area the train passes through a lot and it's very loud. The bridge of the Gods used to be a land bridge, until it collapsed and a real bridge was built.
Dez A — Google review
Fantastic overview of the bridge and place to pull off for lunch. There was a small walking trail with lots of scenic views of the bridge.
D. F — Google review
Visited the Bridge of the Gods and absolutely loved it! The spot has such awesome vibes — a perfect mix of breathtaking scenery and peaceful energy. Standing near the bridge, you get sweeping views of the Columbia River Gorge that are just stunning. Right next to it is the Bridge Side Restaurant, which makes the experience even better. After taking in the views, it’s a great place to sit back, relax, and enjoy a meal while still soaking in the beauty around you. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area — it’s one of those places that feels both refreshing and inspiring.
Sid — Google review
We were exploring the Columbia River Gorge on a Thursday in August while vacationing in the area and saw the bridge in a map. We stopped in Cascade Locks to take a boat ride on the Sternwheeler (which drove us up under the bridge and back), had lunch at Brigham Fish Market then walked over to the bridge. We walked across to the Washington side and back over again. There was vehicle traffic but it wasn’t super busy. There are no designated walkways for pedestrians so you’re sharing the road and the cars were courteous of being in there. We stayed over as far as we could to the railing. The view of the river from midway across was beautiful even though it was a cloudy day. There was another couple walking ahead of us. We chatted with them a bit. They were friendly. We passed a couple who looked like they may have been hiking the trail too. It’s not a far or strenuous walk. Google tells me 1,858 feet total. We don’t go the whole way to the very end of the Washington side so maybe it’s 1/2 a mile round trip plus add in distance from where ever you parked. Just be mindful of the cars and other people.
Miss V — Google review
7/14/25 About 3 mi ne of the Bonneville dam. Parking next to the bridge on the Oregon side. Can get good pics from here. $3 toll to drive over the bridge. Plus $3 more to cross back. $7 each way for an RV. Free to walk over. As it exists today was created in a much less glamorous fashion than the original, natural one. It was built by man, by hand, and with difficulty. Constructed in 1926, the Bridge of the Gods is the third oldest bridge on the Columbia River. On the Pacific Crest Trail linking Oregon and Washington states.
Orrin H — Google review
It's cool, but I wouldn't pay for a tour. It's a toll bridge, so don't plan on going across for free or in any hurry. There's a parking lot underneath at a trailhead, so I parked there just to look at it. Stange to hear and see the cars going over through the metal as it isn't paved at all. Cool painting on the pillar.

Nestled along the stunning Columbia River, Oneonta Gorge is a breathtaking natural wonder characterized by its moss-covered basalt rock formations and four magnificent waterfalls. This scenic gorge has been recognized as a botanical area by the U.S. Forest Service due to its unique plant life, which thrives exclusively in this environment. While hiking through Oneonta Gorge offers an unforgettable experience filled with beauty and tranquility, it's essential to tread carefully; the rocks can be slippery, and fallen logs may pose challenges along the way.
Hiking through Oneonta is one of my all-time favorite memories. We met at the Gateway Transit Center. The area is filled with moss. Its not an official trail. The hike is short, but the rocks are slippery, & there are fallen logs that can be dangerous. We also hiked Gorton Creek & another unnamed trail. Prepared to get wet. The water is cold at first, but you’ll get used to it! Pictures from the internet #notmyclick

About a 3.5 mile RT hike to triple falls with a lot of fun elevation changes this place is challenging but rewarding! Even though the lower falls are the highlight of the area and are currently closed it’s still worth the day trip out! Watch my vid and see what’s on this trail and even have old video of the lower falls if you’re curious how it looks! 👍🤙

Hiking through Oneonta is one of my most favorite memories ever. There's an abundance of beauty, peace, and bliss here. Pro tip: thi hike itself is very short but the rocks are very slippery and there are fallen logs that are scary and can be dangerous. So make sure you have the right shoes and are prepped for the trail. The water is super cold but you get used to it.

Drove up to Mt Hood for the day. Breath taking views, great restaurants for lunch, and even taking the lift up the mountain. I didn't know you could ski the mountain year round here. The lodge is also a great stop to hear about their history and grab a cocktail in their bar.

In October 2022, the four of us—dad, mom, me, and mom’s mom—took a scenic drive to Mt. Hood. We didn’t hike, but viewing the mountain from the car was still incredible. The peak was majestic, rising above forests of autumn-colored trees, and the crisp October air made the scenery feel even more vivid. It was a peaceful way to enjoy the natural beauty without leaving the car, and the drive offered several pull-offs to pause and take in the panoramic views. Even just seeing Mt. Hood from the road made for a memorable family outing.

Nestled against the stunning backdrop of Mount Hood, Timberline Lodge is a charming ski retreat that transports you back to the 1930s with its rustic lodge rooms and cozy chalets. This enchanting destination not only offers comfortable accommodations but also features an inviting outdoor pool for relaxation after a day on the slopes. Dining at Timberline Lodge is an experience in itself; guests can savor locally sourced, seasonally inspired dishes at the Cascade Dining Room while enjoying breathtaking views of the Cascade Mountains.
Our stay was unforgettable. The lodge is full of history and character, but it also feels incredibly cozy and welcoming. You can tell great care goes into maintaining its beauty and charm. The staff were genuinely kind and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. We had a great meal at the Ram’s Head Restaurant, delicious food with an amazing view. Whether you're visiting for skiing or a peaceful retreat, Timberline Lodge delivers a one-of-a-kind experience you shouldn’t miss!

Know before you book... None of the rooms have... coffee pots, mini fridge, microwave, or a normal sized TV (ours was a 17" monitor). The toilets are industrial style, so when someone flushes next door you'll hear it and it WILL wake you up regularly, thus the complimentary ear plugs provided in each room. On our queen bed, was a twin sized thick feather mattress topper. While I was continually poked by feather quills, my boyfriend was half way sleeping on a ledge due to the pad being twin sized. "Rustic" is a very kind word for the tiny room. It doesn't seem any updates have been done in at least 40 years. The old furnishings didn't bother me, but expect thrift store quality and a rotary dial phone. The complimentary breakfast from 6-9:00 a.m. consists of coffee and small pastries, (no eggs, bacon, pancakes stuff). Recommend stopping at a grocery store for nonperishables prior to coming or you're gonna be stuck with super expensive food at this lodge. These rooms are waaay overpriced for what you get. We won't be back. Beautiful location, staff was decent, terrible lodging value.
Linda K — Google review
Absolutely one hell of a beautiful place highly recommended because of it being in the off-season in the rooms were a little bit cheaper than normal but if you look at everything within 100 mile radius, it was very comparable as far as price goes but you get so much more of a view And such ambience The cascade dining room was absolutely amazing. The food, the quality the people there were extremely helpful and for any shining fan this is a must go. also with your room you get vouchers for breakfast, which is by far amazing

A mixed review for Timberline Lodge. Location is superb, a breathtaking view of Mt Hood in fair weather, great ski lodge, and a brisk Alpine hiking site in the fall. The history of the WPA work is fascinating. But.. it's ageing not well. Rooms are noisy, bathrooms tiny and the television is the size of a laptop. Food at the flagship Cascade Restaurant was overpriced and overly cute.
Gary Z — Google review
This place is rustic and we like it that way. The couches around the fire are the same ones I've been napping on for years and I hope it never changes. I love the vintage appeal it's completely what keeps me coming back. It's a familiar comfortable setting that feels like you are welcomed. The staff are good ol' Oregon folk. Usually a mix between locals that have been there forever or young kids who love having the benefit of a ski pass included while working there. Everyone is kind in all the buildings on all the property. I love this lodge. Please please never sell out 🙏

One of our go-to places in the Northwest. The lodge is amazing with the massive 3 story fireplace and colossal natural wood columns on the inside providing an awe inspiring, unique and familiar lodge experience. When the sun is out the lodge provides unrivaled views of the mountain. Natural log fires continually burning and many spots to cozy up make this a quintessential lodge experience. The rooms bring you right back to the early days of skiing, most designed to be a small shared space seemingly only for sleeping while you spend the rest of your days hitting the slopes or relaxing in the lodge. Super kid friendly and dogs too I believe. Would definitely recommend for a truly wonderful mountain experience. Taught my daughter how to ski here also, great terrain for everyone!

We did not stay at the lodge but we went in and visited looked at some of the artifacts that are there. Got to see the chair that FDR sat in when they dedicated the lodge. Unfortunately the day was very foggy and rainy so we could not see them out but highly recommend the drive up to see the lodge.

My husband and I were only able to reserve a 2 twin bed small room. It is August 27 and still warm outside. It was 83F today. There is no air conditioning in our room. There is a fan. It does not oscillate. We did ask for another fan, but they didn’t have any more available. We did find a screen and opened our window. The room is about as small as a single dorm room. There is only 1 chair. There is no place to put our luggage. We had to grab clothes from our luggage in our car and put in a tote bag to bring in along with a toiletry bag. The room/bathroom is clean enough. Food: expensive as we expected. Limited menu items. I ordered chili but crackers would be $4 more. The chili was good. We ordered the warm cookie with ice cream and it was delicious. We rode up the Magic Mile Sky Ride and that was fun! A cute little chipmunk came out and another tourist fed it chips. So cute!

Trillium Lake is a stunning manmade lake covering 65 acres with picturesque mountain and forest backdrops. The location offers various recreational activities such as camping, hiking, and Nordic skiing. Visitors can access gorgeous hiking trails leading to the frozen paradise overlooking Mount Hood. However, visitors should note that the road leading to Trillium Lake isn't cleared during winter, requiring walking a considerable distance before entering the normal lake loop hike.
Beautiful everything! Worth a visit. The best panoramic view of mount hood is here

A beautiful mirror lake with an awesome view of Mt. Hood. Great for kayaking, fishing, paddle boarding, camping, fishing or just relaxing. Love it here!!

First Impression: Lake Trillium in Oregon instantly feels like a slice of paradise. The moment you arrive, the calm waters and surrounding scenery set the tone for a peaceful and refreshing experience. Ambience: Relaxing, colorful, and full of life. People can be seen swimming, fishing, or kayaking, which adds vibrancy without disturbing the calm. The reflection of Mt. Hood on the lake is absolutely mesmerizing and elevates the beauty of the place. Final Verdict: Lake Trillium is a must-visit gem in Oregon—relaxing, picture-perfect, and full of natural charm. The reflection of Mt. Hood is the crown jewel of this experience. Blind Trust Meter: Very High – A True Nature Lover’s Spot.

Breitenbush Hot Springs Retreat and Conference Center

Retreat center

Cozy refuge on a remote forest retreat with well-being programs, hot-spring pools & vegetarian food.
Breitenbush Hot Springs is truly a magical place. The food was delicious with so much variety. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Some parts are brand new and others are almost 100 years old. I recommend taking the tour. The wood sauna with a cold plunge was my favorite. I can’t wait to visit again.
Allen S — Google review
Beautiful and relaxing hot springs in a beautiful setting! We spent two nights there and greatly enjoyed our stay. Everyone was friendly and pools were clean and well kept. I do think it is a bit silly that for the price you're paying, you have to bring your own bedding. If the price was a little cheaper I wouldn't have minded, but it was a bummer to have to pay all that money for accommodation and not even be fully accommodated unless you want to shell out even more to rent bedding and towels. I understand this probably stems from wanting to save water on laundry since they are powered by hydro, but again, if that's the case the prices should be a bit cheaper. The walls in The Grove were pretty thin as well, but most people were considerate and quiet. I do feel lucky that there weren't any infants staying in The Grove while we were there, though, like some other reviews have mentioned. Food was okay, but like others have said a little bland. Highly reccomend bringing some snacks for your room if you get snacky between meal times like me. All this to say I still give 4 stars as it was truly a blissful and relaxing experience. I'd love to be back at some point.
Devon H — Google review
I'm not sure what exactly changed here, but the people running this place are acting totally different from even a few months ago. I placed an ice pack in the shared guest freezer, and it disappeared by the time I finished my breakfast. Staff responses ranged from side eyed attempts to ignore me, telling me I should expect stealing because "it's human nature", and two suggestions that I simply steal one from another guest. They acted like I was some idiot monster for even feeling angry about it, even though I was simply asking to borrow one of their ice packs during the trip. "Luckily" it reappeared after I was told to leave the area briefly/ check with the gift shop. Maybe they are just overwhelmed by the way the owners are capitalizing on the fire to overdevelop the area? There seemed to be more people crowded into the area than usual, yet they're still building all over. There was a strange tension between the leaders and the newer/younger workers and volunteers that I had never noticed before. Overheard some complaining about how people were being lazy or talking back, but they seemed to be working hard for how they are compensated. One of them was even breaking down a bit from the stress. Seems like greed and vanity are taking center stage now, instead of healing and nature. If I return, it will be for short trips with lowered expectations. The waters are still lovely, but I wonder how they will last under the new business plans.
Kay L — Google review
I’m not going to give Breitenbush a “bad” review, as it’s a magical place and I know they are working hard to rebuild. However, things have changed a bit and this last weekend was a different trip than I’ve had prior. For my trips 4 years ago and 2 year ago, I got everything that I needed to stay warm with the bedding rental. Soaking was easily accessible. Staff was kind and comforting. The food was incredible. This time, I still had a great time but will lower my expectations for next trip and be more prepared. Breitenbush gives the feeling that it has been hit hard by inflation, just like the rest of us. Not their fault. But the experience is slightly altered. I rented bedding, and it did arrive as described. But there was no heated blanket base like I was used to, and we were FREEZING with two thin blankets in our mushroom yurt! The pillows squished into nothing. Bring bedding these days! They also built a ton of new lodging and a bathhouse for showers and restrooms, and the new area is really nice and vibey. Love the new construction. But there were way too many people. Lines for meals were way out the door, and the pools all had 6+ people in them most of the time. It was just way more crowded then before, which I’m sure they need to survive financially. I also talked up the food a lot to my partner before coming here. Last two times I visited, everything felt so healthy, fresh and original! I bought the cookbook. One meal was homemade Hawaiian food, one meal was a sushi bar, with incredible deserts! This time, it felt like casseroles that had been potentially cooked from frozen (still homemade, just bland), a spaghetti bar, no desserts. No protein besides beans. My stomach hurt when I got home, not from food poisoning or anything but it just was kind of mid level carb heavy food, not the magic of before. Will bring healthy protein for myself next time for sure. Also, one member of the staff was incredibly rude. I almost never say that, I don’t think I’m a Karen. But the tall woman with silver hair in the kitchen had about 10 negative interactions with diners in the lodge during one meal that I observed. She raised her voice at me to move (I had moved out of her way, but not the way she wanted me to go, so she yelled). She also physically put her hands on a woman and moved her out of the bar line to replace food. She snapped at another woman who needed a cup washed. I understand she was probably frustrated and having a bad day, but you really shouldn’t physically put your hands on guests, even if it is to move them out of the way. The rest of the staff was great by the way. One dance class and one sustainability tour offered on Saturday, but no group meditation or yoga unless I missed it. All in all, the vibe was different. Still magical, still worth going. But come more prepared than you are used to, and be aware that inflation has impacted us all, including this amazing retreat.

Disappointing. I wasn’t expecting so much loud talking happening everywhere. My mistake because I was thinking it would be similar to a Japanese style onsen. The cafeteria area was pretty loud during meal time, the cabin doors don’t have locks on them, & the hot spring pools were crowded & noisy. We ended up waiting until late evening to enjoy the pools when they were much less crowded & we could sit in peace. Overall there seemed to be larger groups traveling there together rather than singles or couples. If socializing with others while there is what you want to do, you may enjoy it more than I did. And bringing a robe & slippers should be on the must have list on their website. I found the food to be lacking in flavor and ordinary.
Rebecca G — Google review
This place is amazing! The organic local lunch is so tasty and the soaking pools were clean and welcoming. It’s clothing option but most folks are nude. There’s a lot of logging and fire damage in the area which is a bit hard to see.
Ethan C — Google review
Super relaxing! A true retreat. Price includes 3 absolutely delicious vegetarian buffets per day. Gluten free options available. The flowers around the resort were so pretty. No cell service, no photos allowed. No alcohol or drugs allowed. Bring coffee if you want it. They have hot water. Drinking water available. Bring a bathrobe and slide sandals. Be okay with nudity as most go in nude. Nice clean hot springs with varying temperature options. The reason for the 4 stars rather than 5 is because the second time I went I felt like they over-booked— the hot springs were packed and it was hard to find a spot to soak!! Also on the second visit there were no classes available at all despite it being a busy weekend. I was disappointed because at our first there was ecstatic dance in the evening and yoga and meditation offered in the morning. That felt like part of the experience and made it more of a full worthwhile experience! Overall though, it is lovely.

Hmmmm.... I am a small business owner and have had a very full year with family obligations and not much time to myself. The intention I had for my breitenbush trip was just to relax and reset. I hadnt been since the burn. I would have to say that unfortunately overall I left more stressed, exhausted and in a worse mood than when I got there. Prior to my visit I meticulously read through the website to make sure I was properly prepared as I really just wanted to have a good time and it had been quite a while since I had been there. During my visit I would say that while yes post burn things are a bit less "lush" but that was to be expected. Actually I thought there was different kind of beauty. The river was amazing and the pools were also. Also the massage and massage temple were exquisite. Also had a great conversation with Kevaya (Ki) in the hotspring which was more of the types of interactions I was expecting. AND..... I had a serious issue with the squirrels destroying my things and taking not only snacks but cosmetics, tea and supplements from my space. When I sought help the gatehouse staff just blamed, shamed and fear Mongered me with zero hospitality or effort to accomodate. They didn't even try to say I'm sorry this happened... or anything to help me feel better, they sent out a guy with a broken broom to chase off the squirrel that wasn't there.. they kept saying that "you're not supposed to have food in your lodging at all". I felt really gaslit and blamed because I didnt read anything on the website that said that and as a matter of fact it seems to encourage people to bring their own food to supplement if they want. This really made me feel bad and dismissed. I mean okay the squirrels ate my stuff, but do people have to make it worse by not only being unhelpful but to blame and shame me? I didnt get it . When I would thank members of the kitchen staff in the hall I would get weird responses that seemed cold, Idk. The whole reason why I went was to relax and I ended up just feeling exhausted and stressed and ended up leaving early. The very last interaction I had was again at the gatehouse when I was letting them know I would check out early... she automatically assumed I was wanting a refund and told me she couldn't give me one.. I was over it and just didn't say anything. I figure I was being kind to let them know so they could clean out the space early. Idk why. I feel bummed that I paid money to go somewhere like this to have people.. treat me like that. I still feel baffled by it. There's got to be something going on because it doesnt seem right .Props to the massage therapist with the blue eyes who gave me the best massage of my life to date in the most beautifully curated space on the grounds, the massage temple. She was so attentive and kind and considerate. The gal on August 3rd in the gift shop just before lunch was also absolutely wonderful and helpful and kind. I will come again as Im hoping it was an off weekend or there's something out of the ordinary going on that would cause folks to behave in such a way. I hope this can be helpful feedback and an opportunity to grow. Hopefully this is helpful to guests to know how to navigate the squirrels.

This company is dedicated to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all adventurers, with skilled guides leading the way. Guests rave about their guides, like Annika and Pippa, who not only ensure safety but also infuse fun into every trip with humor and fascinating insights about the river's history and wildlife.
My family of five (kiddos aged 18, 16, & 13) went on a river rafting trip on the Deschutes River with River Drifters in celebration of me reaching 2 years No Evidence of Disease (from breast cancer). I have a "Do Epic Shit" bucket list, and I'm happy River Drifters was able to help me scratch an item off the list! Our trip was definitely EPIC!! Our guide was Pippa, and she was SPECTACULAR!! Pippa was very professional, giving clear directions when needed, and always keeping our safety in mind. She was very kind and an amazing human to talk to. She really did make our entire time on the river so fun. I also love that River Drifters has photographers to take photos, they captured so many great ones of us. My favorite being at the very end in my "Do Epic Shit" t-shirt. THANK YOU for an amazing time!! And THANK YOU, Pippa, for helping me celebrate reaching 2 Years NED!! 10/10 Will definitely be back!

This was my first ever rafting trip, though I went with some friends and their kids who have gone a handful of times. Our guide, Pippa, made it the most amazing first experience! She was professional and safe but also funny and personable. Her ‘dad jokes’ were very entertaining and she had so much cool information and history to share with us about the river and surrounding area! I’m glad that she was the one to introduce me to white water rafting, and now I’m hooked! Can’t wait to go back! :)

We went with River Drifters last month and had such an amazing time with Cole as our guide that we HAD to return when my father in law visited from Germany. He had a blast too! The guides are fun and provide every group a unique and memorable experience. We had a rather large group, so email communication was needed to arrange accordingly. The group is very responsive and super helpful. 10/10 will go again!

We've drafted on the Deschutes River before but with other outfitters. This time we used Riverdrifters. From start to finish, the Reservation process, their pricing, their thorough communications until our day to raft were very reasonable, professional, and informative. Yesterday was our day on the River and, once again, Riverdrifters was awesome! Our guide, Chris, was very safety-oriented, knowledgeable, fun, and navigated all of the rapids with excellent execution. The lunch provided was excellent ( the cookies were the bomb!) Highly recommended for your next trip!

This was such a fun experience for a wide age range. The guides are friendly and patient. They also build time in for people to take swims if they like. There were plenty of jaunty class 3s that I couldn’t capture pics of. It’s exciting and relaxing, all in one half day trip. Definitely worth it. Just beware food choices will be slim out here. But the Imperial Hotel has a beautiful back patio with decent food.

Amazing trip! Jose was the best guide—fun, clear, and kept us safe while still bringing the excitement. Favorite part hands down was the Big Thrill Swimmers Rapid—absolutely unforgettable! Highly recommend rafting with Jose.

I went on 2 full day trips in July, and just got back from a 3 day camping raft trip. The day trips were great despite having done this run many times each of the day trips were a different experience, the guides are fantastic and make the trips so much fun. Once I had Johnny and I can’t say enough about how good he was, so smart and funny and sweet! The next time it was Walker who was the guide, he was also great, I swear I can’t recall laughing like I did that day! But the camping trip was the absolute best! RiverDrifters communicate well and all is well organized. The guide Haven is just fabulous, knowledgeable, considerate and you always feel safe. He is just a wonderful person all around, we also had Wilson, and it is truley amazing the things he gets done, he takes all the gear down the river ahead of us and finds the most perfect camp sites and has things set up! He is the man behind the scene that without him… it just wouldn’t work!! If you are looking for a great river experience go with RiverDrifters!!

They offer a variety of trip options, catering to both tame and daring experiences. The company ensures COVID compliance and provides outstanding photography services to capture the adventure. Multiple testimonials confirm the expertise of their guides, making it a highly recommended choice for river outings.
I had never been rafting and was nervous. Especially because we were bringing our 7 year old son. Everything was great. Our guide, Paris, was fabulous with us an our son. She listened to our requests to go easy and it was very easy to follow her commands on the raft. We loved it and will be back. There was another boat in our group that flipped, but they went down a level 4 rapids. If you want to take it chill, talk to your guides before getting on the water. It was a day trip we will remember fondly always.

This is a company that has been in the business a long time and definitely knows what they are doing. Outstanding customer service, COVID compliant and some of the best guides available. The guide for our day trip was Zach Williams and not once did I question the safety of the hands we were in. Several other guides and rafters we encountered along the trip confirmed it by telling us "He's the best guide out here". Multiple trip options to choose from and the experience will be as tame or daring as you and your group chooses. It was so much fun and the pictures the company photographer took really captured it. My group and I are looking forward to the next one. I could not recommend this business more!

My family (wife and two teenagers) were excited as well as apprehensive about white water rafting, that is until they met our guide, Kirk. Kirk, his positive energy and high level of skill truly made our trip one to remember. Our son is autistic and while he enjoys adventure, we thought this might be pushing the envelope. Nope. Kirk caught on fast and made sure to help our son feel capable, included and best of all, Kirk made sure Connor had a great time. We can't wait to head back next summer! Hopefully we get Kirk again.

Went this past Friday and was treated to an entire days worth of rafting and a great lunch. The entire staff was friendly and fun. Be prepared to jump off rocks, swim down the “swimmers rapids”, and raft into a refreshingly crisp Deschutes River! Our guide Amanda was incredible. She made the trip one to remember. Would definitely recommend.

Indian Head Casino

Casino
Fun & Games
Restaurant
Blackjack tables & slot machines star at a tribal-run & -themed casino with 2 eateries & live music.
First time here. We came up for a concert, George Thorogood and the Destroyers. Venue is outdoors with varied seating. Most of it is folding chairs. Some bleachers in the back of the lot. You are allowed to bring in seat cushions. There were concessions like shave ice, pizza truck, probably others but we did not eat here. The casino itself was nice. Busy but didn’t feel crowded. Limited seating unless you are on a machine.

It's small and never crowded.Great air conditioner always nice and cool. No smoking.and they have a a vending machine you can buy cigs out of...... CRAZY. I haven't seen one of those since I was a little child

Nice level RV parking lot free to overnight. Casino is modern and really clean. Great variety of games to play. We enjoyed a nice buffet and left with a little more cash than we walked in with. Staff are all cheerful here. Shuttle from parking is convenient

Staff friendly helpful and caring. Casino clean and upbeat. Restaurant staff great food was disappointing and Luke warm. We had the special prime rib and baked potatoe. Primarily cool no seasoning aus gus thsamr. Baked was hard but hot. My side salad was good. I no it was a special but not being hot and season doesn't cost more than .1 a pound. So restaurant most likely no go again.

We went for the Ace Frehley concert. The place is small, the stage is outside in the parking lot. Is only 111° degrees. We stayed overnight in the ban. The concert was kind of sad not too much people nobody would sing along specially when Ace wanted everyone to sing and answer back in the New York groove. But my brother and I sang and enjoyed it alot. It was like our own private concert. Ace probably won't go there again.
Lina A — Google review
Right off of highway 26. Plenty of parking but a very narrow drive in between parking spots in front of the casino. When long trucks parked there it's difficult to get through there is a fenced side lot which might be for larger vehicles. We stopped in for a couple of drinks and some food. Hoping for a buffet but we're pretty impressed with the lunch menu and the drinks were great. Lady friend played the slots while I checked out the museum and heritage store. I highly recommend taking a look at both of those. There's also interesting stuff to see across the street from the casino... Doors were locked when I visited but plan to return when it's open. GREAT VIEWS of the river from this park across the street too! BUT watch out for BIG OLE DUMMY SEMI TRUCK DRIVERS who aren't familiar with what a crosswalk is though. Hold your little ones hands

My first visit...Little place, but great games. There are two places on site to eat. We ate lunch at the small café. Prices were surprisingly low and the food was very good.

Where you can go to lose it all. The odds here are very low. When drawing. Happens its rarely a name that's not always called. The one time a winner picked me I spent the entire amount to win next to nothing . Guessing your card tracks rather good knowing the inexperienced from the experienced . Very clean very nice front counter people though

Mid-week visit. Enjoyed wandering the grounds & checking out all the different sections with fish in varying stages of growth. Most of our time was spent feeding the semi-wild trout at the pond & marveling at their size & never-ending appetite. A must for families with kiddos!

What an absolutely beautiful place. Not too far of a drive. Paved paths. Was able to push my husband in his wheelchair thru out the whole area. Always a pleasure to spend an afternoon out here
_wethebeardandbun_ — Google review
I've gone here twice and both times I enjoyed it a lot. It was really nice to just walk around and appreciate nature as well as to feed the fish. You can buy some fish food and machines around the place for a quarter. You can also spot an eagle perched at the top of the trees sometimes which is awesome sight. I forgot to take pictures of the actual hatchery, but I took some of the river.

Super cool looking at the fish and the river was insane!
Isaiah D — Google review
Very beautiful place for a stroll/hike, alone or with family or friends. Place is well maintained, with lots of fish of different stage complete with information boards for your knowledge. Bring a picnic lunch as there are tables overlooking the lake and the view is gorgeous!
Kelly C — Google review
The hatchery was on a nice site. We could roam freely along the runs, observing the bigger fish. The fertilizing and nursery were closed.. There was a pond with large fish swimming around that you could feed. The river next to the hatchery was beautiful.
Ann B — Google review
The hatchery is notable in that the West and East Metolius trails can be accessed from here. Ample parking and several campgrounds are very close by. The fall scenery here is mindblowing and picture taking opportunities are abundant. Bring all of your supplies, the closest store is Camp Sherman and is miles away. Five star hiking area.

Lake Billy Chinook

Lake
Nature & Parks
Bodies of Water
Artificial lake in a desert canyon, known for fishing & water sports, with campsites & houseboats.
We camped at Perry South campground. Got a nice corner spot next to the fresh water pump. There was plenty of shade. The lake is huge by our standards, and Chinook Island is a great place to spend an afternoon. We caught Kokanee and bass. Oh, and the campsite bathrooms were clean and didn't smell.

Very awe inspiring place super cool rock formations and canyons

Amazing place to vacation. We camped at Crooked River Campground in the Cove Palisades State Park. The campsite was large and the bathrooms were cleaned everyday. Clean showers were a blessing at the end of the day! There was lots of wild life and deer. Hiking trail and small amphitheater area for a large group gathering. AT&T had reception but T-Mobile users were out of luck in camp. Lots of fun on the water. And grassy tree shaded play area for kids on the bank with protected swim area right next to boat launch. Made it easy to take turns on the water with large family. There is a courtesy dock that was extremely useful. There is a kayak launch too. Great to board kayak roller launch into water easy . There is a marina for fuel and general store for things you forgot( like a case of water) . Lots of opportunity to rent house boats, jet skis and other watercraft. Would suggest to go to “clear water” where the green water of Lake Billy Schnook meets the fresh mountain river. The water in the river is crystal clear and cold which is a big contrast to the green warm water of Billy Schnook. The rock canyon walls are beautiful. Lava, pressure and time have created works of art. Nature is beautiful. On land I would suggest to visit the scenic look out points. You can see Mount Hood, Mount Jefferson, and the Sisters. ( plus the others in the ring of fire. Don’t know all the names) . We were there 7 days and could have stayed longer.

I went here for a Christian summer camp with my church and I got to meet a lot of new people and make a lot of friends especially kids around my age and some really cool leaders. There were areas where we could go on Shore and hike or walk around if we wanted to we were also able to canoe and swim almost wherever we wanted. We stayed on houseboats and it was a really fun experience to know what it's like to live on a boat and to get closer to God. The only not-so-fun part was the almost a little over eight hour drive but it was still cool because we got to ride the whole way in tour buses that had TVs and USB ports so we have entertainment .I will still definitely be going again next year and making even more memories and strengthening my relationship with God. P. S I just wrote a really long review because I need to level up my tour guide account and to do that I have to make 5 200-plus character reviews.

Beautiful lake with large basalt cliffs. Road that winds around the cove pallasaids is quite an adventure
Josh P — Google review
Cove Pallisades state park, the three rivers community and Lake Billy Chinook, in Culver are a sight to behold, the canyons from the town following the outline of the lake up to three rivers and then into the marina is a spectacular if hazardous drive (falling rocks), and never ceases to amaze, never busy, terribly overlooked in terms of scenery, opposite the Warm Springs native nation and the pelton dam, Round Butte mountain which has a spectacular 360° viewpoint over the Cascades, been 7 times, going to visit again in Feb. '26, can't wait, a poinant scattering my mothers ashes over the lake, Redmond and Bend, Madras and Prineville can't wait.

Had a very nice vacation here during the eclipse. Family had a great time in the swim area of three rivers marina. Well stocked and supplied stores only downfall is public out houses were stinky. All in all, a stellar experience.
Patrick D — Google review
I grew up in Central Oregon and this was one of my favorite swimming holes. It’s a shame that there seems to be a chronic blue-green algae problem in the water. It’s still an excellent spot for boating and camping. The place I last stayed even had an educational program in the canyon every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night.

Metolius River

River
Nature & Parks
Bodies of Water
The Metolius River at the fish hatchery bridge is easily one of the most picturesque locations in Oregon. Be at the bridge in September at about 1pm. The lighting will be perfect on a sunny day for fantastic photos. If it's cloudy, not so much. The sun absolutely makes the water glow. If you have a tripod bring it and set the shutter speed at 1/3 second.
Donald G — Google review
Beautiful walk to the metolius river viewpoint. The ponderosa pines are gorgeous here. The chipmunks are also very curious here. There is a large parking area at the viewpoint and vaulted pit toilets that can get pretty stinky during the day and also a walk in camp. There is a picnic area as well. Benches at the river viewing area and some along the way. 8/13/18

Five stars in Autumn. Did the loop trail from Wizard Falls Fish Hatchery to Lower Bridge than back on the other side of the river. Went there at early October, a lot of Falls color and the water are so clear. The hike is around 6 miles round trip easy hike. It is rare that you could hike on the edge of the river most of the way. The river is also a hot spot for fly fishing.
Opiat C — Google review
Beautiful place to visit or camp. An amazing natural resource to be experienced.

There is a gorgeous hiking trail near Camp Sherman that leads to the fish hatchery. There are a few small waterfalls and the river is ver clear with amazing blue and green colors.
Teresa N — Google review
An incredibly beautiful river, eleven different well-maintained campsites, the charming Camp Sherman store, and The intriguing Fish Hatchery. Honestly this place has something fun for everyone! Yet another reason my family's been camping there for over 60 years.
Justin B — Google review
Rated one of the top 3 most pristine rivers in the United States with some of the best fly fishing for trophy trout anywhere. It starts underground from west of the Cascades and emerges out of the rocks near Camp Sherman. At the end of the pathway where you can just sit and enjoy the beauty of Central Or. Take a step back in time and relax. It's good for the soul

This place has so much personality. The prices are great, the scenery there and on the way there are amazing. Cheap rocks, a cool museum, dogs and peacocks running around, it's a cool and unique environment. If you are into rocks or you know someone who is, definitely check this place out, it is 100% worth the trip. I have some great pieces from here that I got for $20> that would be hundreds elsewhere.

Tucked away in the hills just outside Madras hides this literal gem. The a selection of unique stones for sale from local fields and from a far is second to none. I have never seen a literal pile of raw thunder eggs the size of a baby's head until I went here! Friendly people, jaw dropping museum room and plenty of unique wears for sale. A must see for any rock hound!

Absolutely incredible crystals, geodes, specimens, basically anything you can imagine. My friends and I stopped here on our way back from a concert, and everything about this place is awesome. Incredible prices on everything (especially the rough stones in the yard, typically only $5 a pound), and awesome customer service. This is a must-stop location if you're passing by it!!
Soren B — Google review
They have a wonderful selection of raw stones, crystals, and thunder eggs outside and a very nice collection of tumbled, polished and shaped stones and crystals inside. So glad we took a detour to stop and check it out! Some of my beautiful finds in their new home 😍 they haven't been cleaned up yet, but they still speak to me! Super friendly proprietors that can tell you all about their items. Stop in to add to your stone/crystal collection and visit the Ostrich and Peacocks too. We'll be back soon!

Love this place. Literal tons of rock to satisfy every rockhound. Their prices for rough are really good. Nothing like picking your own pieces instead of rolling the dice online. Store has all kinds of finished pieces from all over the world.

An absolute paradise for rock lovers 😍 I drove many hours to go here and was not at all disappointed. There are so many rocks from all over the world, and also a beautiful gift store with lots of treasures. I could have spent all day here, and all my money. I can’t wait yo visit it again sometime (soon!🤞).

If you’re looking for the best rock shop in Oregon, look no further. Richardson’s Rock Ranch in Madras is a no-frills, down-to-earth rock lover’s paradise. As someone who’s been bringing rocks, sticks, and leaves home since childhood, this place felt like a dream come true. You’re greeted by actual peacocks (yes—peacocks) wandering the property, and the whole experience is welcoming and judgment-free. You can dig through bins of crystals, minerals, and rough cuts priced by the pound, all while surrounded by breathtaking views of cowboy country. The drive alone is worth it. This is a true local gem—family-owned, full of character, and the kind of place you’ll want to come back to again and again. Whether you’re a rockhound, collector, or just someone who appreciates Earth’s natural beauty, go shop local and support this incredible brick-and-mortar. I’ll definitely be going back.

Nestled just 40 minutes northeast of Bend, Smith Rock State Park is a hidden gem that beckons outdoor enthusiasts with its stunning landscapes and diverse activities. This renowned rock climbing haven features dramatic canyon views, making it an ideal spot for both seasoned climbers and families looking to explore. The park offers a variety of hiking trails, including the scenic rim rock trail where visitors can marvel at breathtaking vistas while spotting local wildlife like rabbits, otters, and numerous bird species.
Very cool place to see and experience. Look like a very ideal place to go rock climbing, hiking is exposed and has a couple short and easy couple ones. But definitely has ones that aren't easy at all and long. Bring enough water for sure. It is worth the drive. You will not be able to hike all the trails in one day, so make plans accordingly if you would like to hike them all.
Suntan S — Google review
Went there for the first time Oct 2025. I went on a day about 11:00 am that they were having a rock climbing event so parking full. Decided to go to Dee Wright Observatory ( amazing) and come back. Arrived about 3:00 pm. Still a lot of ppl but found parking. Was my lucky day because took the Canyon trail (which was flat as far as I went) and was alone on it. Was unbelievably beautiful and peaceful. Pictures do not capture the raw beauty of nature there. Really an amazing place I could’ve walked for days in if I could have. A really special experience. I met two ppl in a diner who said they’ve never been, one has lived in area for 9 years and one for 3. Blew my mind. I would be there as much as possible if I lived close by. Go if you are lucky enough to.

This is an amazing place to visit. The formations are breathtaking and forever changing . Great place for hiking, rock climbing and just taking in the beauty. Spiritually moving and Awe inspiring Peace. Portable toilets and guided tours. Eagle watching is also fun if you can find them amongst the massive formation.

Beautiful stop! Smith Rock State Park looks vastly different than its surrounding area. You can either park and have a picnic and or hike, just soak in the views and head out, or enjoy the rock climbing wall playground they have! Our legs were killing us, so we decided just to do a quick stop and enjoy the views! Don't forget to check out Crescent Moon Ranch that's only 7 minutes away to feed and pet alpacas just for $5!
Nomad L — Google review
The views are AMAZING. There are plenty of trails on all different levels. The volunteers at the Welcome Center can advise you what trail to choose. I would recommend everyone to go here. If you don't have time or are physically not able to hike, still go there to watch the views from the parking lot. 15 minutes parking is free and within 1 minute you have stunning views.

Smith Rock is a wonderful scenic site that anyone can enjoy. If you can't walk far, just park at the top of the canyon and look out at the majesty of the rocks and high desert scenery. If you want a short hike, just bring a bottle of water and walk carefully down to the valley floor where the river is. If you want more adventure, there is rock climbing and there are longer hikes too. There is plenty of wildlife. We saw a marmot once feasting on the irrigated grass at the bottom. I've seen Osprey, Black-billed Magpie, Mallards, Canada Geese, Canyon Wren, White-throated Swifts, and others around too. For Oregon scenery, this spot isn't to be missed.
M P — Google review
This has been one of the highlights of our road trip so far! Absolutely spectacular and such great choices in trail length. We were a bit confused at the start where the “Summit Loop” began from, but all trails seem to start from the one main entrance that takes you across the river. There’s also a large map once you get across.
Ellen M — Google review
We stopped by while passing through, merely to see the climbing area that we've heard of from ages past when Dale Goddard frequented the area. (We are "climbers emeritus".) When we arrived we realized that it deserved a lot more time than we had allocated for the visit. Lots of interesting trails with a variety of difficulties to explore, and only a short drive to Bend with all its creature comforts, or the lovely Tumalo State Park campground. Smith Rock is a seven hour drive from our home, but we are planning to go back.

Petersen Rock Garden & Museum

Museum
Specialty Museums
Storied gardens & museum featuring architectural structures composed of petrified wood, lava & rock.
Between Redmond and Bend, Petersen Rock Garden was a quiet oasis in Central Oregon. Expansive views framed the eccentric rock structures, each one steeped in local charm. Peacocks roamed freely, perching on stonework and adding bursts of color and life. Their presence made the garden feel surreal—an unexpected, enchanting escape in the high desert. The on your honor payment system, with a recommended $10 per adult and older child is an appropriate method to support Petersen Rock Garden and adds to the charm. Please be sure to support Petersen Rock Garden so it may last for another 100 years.

Great experience! My toddler and family enjoyed the entire time here. Initially driving in, it looks ran down but once you start walking around it is very serene and peaceful. Initially I thought it would be a quick in and out trip but we ended up taking over 2 hours here, although could be completed way quicker. We got lots of fun photos and enjoyed feeding the peacocks and visiting the gift shop. We almost missed the exhibit at the front of the property with water and islands, so make sure to visit that side of the property since it isn't well marked. Must see stop when visiting the area. Dog and toddler friendly!
Samantha — Google review
If you like roadside attractions—the kind that spring from one person’s sheer vision, diligence, and obsession—then Peterson Rock Garden is an absolute must-see. This place is a folk art fever dream come to life: hand-built miniature castles, bridges, and patriotic monuments, all crafted from lava rock, agate, petrified wood, and glass. It’s eccentric, a little weathered, and absolutely unforgettable. But here’s the real hidden gem: the gift shop. Calling it a treasure trove doesn’t do it justice. We found genuine showpiece items for our home at unbelievable prices—pieces we’d expect to see in a curated boutique for triple the cost. On top of that, the staff gave us a mini history lesson about the garden’s creator and the surrounding area while we browsed. It was one of those moments where you go in expecting a kitschy stop and leave with a story, a haul of amazing finds, and a greater appreciation for the passion behind the place. A quick heads-up: if you hear what sounds like a mythical creature howling through the trees, don’t panic—you’re not being hunted. That’s just one of the overly dramatic peacocks voicing his displeasure at… who knows what. There are peacocks all over the grounds, strutting freely and occasionally screaming like something out of Jurassic Park. It’s weird, wonderful, and totally on brand for a place like this. Highly recommend taking the detour. You won’t regret it.
Randy K — Google review
Quirky, off the beaten path spot. Dozens of odd hand built rock and lava structures by a devoted Mr. Petersen. Artsy and unique. Interesting small museum as well. A dozen peacocks of all ages roam the property. Worth a visit if you're in the area. Rustic facilities, free entry but donation requested.
Clark A — Google review
Read about this place in Weird Oregon and stopped by on the return trip to the Painted Hills. Beautiful, and just as weird as the book described! The museum has inconsistent hours which makes me sad because I would have loved to go inside but perhaps another trip is in order 😉 The pond lilies were blooming and the peacocks gave us a show, too 🦚
Shannon — Google review
Great fun, held my first chicken here and for $1 you get a cup of seeds to feed the peacocks! We enjoyed the museum filled with so many different rocks, stones, gems, and crystals. You can even buy some there or ask where you can forge your own. The staff made me feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their knowledge, which is a big plus considering I’m shy when it comes to that.
Burns F — Google review
An absolute treasure! This is a wonderful place to take your kids! This farm turned rock garden has a colorful past which is perfectly preserved by the current owners. They have peacocks who while quite noisy are docile enough to feed. The sculptures are creative and you can see a progression of skill and creativity as Mr. Petersen built new rock art pieces. Admission is based on donation, with adults paying a suggested $10 and kids are up to you. Well worth the visit.

Meadow Lakes Golf Course

This is a real gem of a course that is so reasonably priced it makes me want to move to Prineville for the golf. Lovely green fairways lead to fast but fair greens that were in great shape. The whole course is very well maintained and all the facilities were in top shape. Nice golf carts as well as the option of electric scooter for rent. The pro shop is well stocked and it has a nice little restaurant as well. Lots of water on this course but it’s not too difficult if you hit the fairway on your drives. There were deer grazing on the 18th hole and plenty birds in the ponds and waterways. The price was very reasonable for such a great course.

Would try again. Food slow coming out of kitchen. There was a group of three before us. And we were a group of 5 who placed our order after small group got their food. Hash browns were just barely browned. Eggs were cooked as ordered. Nice, clean place..like I said.. I would try again.

Amazing day at and amazing course! Family was in town for a family reunion, decided to sneak in a round before the festivities, found this gem in prineville and let me tell you the views of the course are amazing , even coming down the hill overlooking it we were amazed! The course was in awesome shape , plush grass , well manicured greens ,. We were elated the whole day ! It took awhile as we walked and it is a large course , just more time for brews! The drinks were cheap and the fun was non stop! We let a few carted small groups play thru as we were taking our time enjoying the course. Took us about 4.5 hrs for 18 and we both had zero complaints! We’re already planning our trip back,. Best part ,. ITS SO AFFORDABLE! Paid a few bucks more then my local executive course I play weekly ,.. did I say I was coming back? Cuz I am !

Very nice course, but don’t go unless you have 5+ hours for your round. I’ve played here twice in the past 2 weeks and both times have been too packed with big groups and slow play. Wasted $100 to only get through 6 holes in 2 hours
