Three Sisters Springs

Wildlife refuge
Nature & Parks
Three Sisters Springs is a stunning natural attraction located within the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge. It's open to the public from mid-November to late March and offers a chance to view manatees in their natural habitat. Visitors can access the 57-acre preserve by land or water, with opportunities for kayaking, canoeing, and wildlife viewing along a quarter-mile boardwalk and over one and a half miles of nature trails.
Stunning Natural Beauty at Three Sisters Springs Three Sisters Springs is absolutely breathtaking — the kind of place that looks too perfect to be real. The crystal-clear water is mesmerizing, and the setting is pure Florida magic. The water is refreshingly cold, so I was especially glad to have a wetsuit on — made the experience much more comfortable and let me stay in longer to enjoy the views. It was definitely busy, with plenty of kayaks and paddleboards around, but the vibe was friendly and respectful. Even with the crowd, it didn’t take away from how peaceful and awe-inspiring the springs are. If you’re in the area, this is a must-visit spot. Bring a wetsuit, bring a waterproof camera, and prepare to be amazed!
Stephen B — Google review
Beautiful spot. Looking forward to coming back to see hundred of manatees and can’t quite imagine it. No way get access from land, so if you want to swim rent a kayak and make your way up. Regular shuttle from a parking lot that makes several stops around the small town. Bring your national park pass or veteran’s ID if possible, otherwise it’s 12.50 a person, not vehicle. Handicapped plates allow you to drive right down to the boardwalk, otherwise it’s a ten minute walk down.
Kyle C — Google review
We loved this location! My girls were disappointed we were there too early for the manatees but it was still absolutely breathtaking. The shuttle driver was extremely kind and knowledgeable, we could have ridden with her all day. The water was just gorgeous, so clear we watched fish swim. We will try to make a return trip when the place is full of manatees!
Kaitlin J — Google review
We visited on a HOT 🥵 Sunday afternoon in June 2025. You pull in and pay then turn around and go out, take a right and an immediate left and you’re in their parking area. They give you a wristband that allows you to ride their shuttle bus which goes to various stops around Crystal River and of course to Three Sisters Springs. The springs have a boardwalk where you can view the beautiful clear blue water. There were a lot of people swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding in the spring when we were there. We started walking down the boardwalk and onto a dirt path. I wish they had path markers to let you know how much further to go. It was so hot I started to feel a little nauseous and we had to turn back. I definitely recommend picking a day when it is not 90° or hotter because there are several miles of walking paths that you can explore and we really didn’t get the full experience due to the heat. All the employees were very friendly and there was an older gentleman employee with a younger girl who I’m guessing was shadowing him. He gave us all kinds of information about the springs and asked if we had any questions for him and answered them all. I plan to one day kayak or paddleboard into the spring so I can fully experience the beauty.
Patricia S — Google review
Beautiful springs, has a bus to take you or can walk in. Has a boardwalk around the three springs. Can see divers and people in kayaks, depending on the water temperature can see manatees. You can kayak and swim in from outside the park but cannot access the water from the park. The bus will also take you to other destinations as part of the entrance fee.
Tawodi E — Google review
Beautiful spring area of course but a bit misleading having to go around and find your way into the springs. No manatees when I went, saw a baby gator and a few fishies.
Kala B — Google review
Absolutely beautiful. Breath taking it’s a short paddle I took my stand up paddle board launched from Hunter springs. I even paid to walk to board walk as well and it was worth it. Everyone is so nice.
Desirae H — Google review
Not a huge area, but so beautiful and they have great walking areas / boardwalk. The volunteers are so helpful in providing information about the manatees and anything nature. We went really early in the morning and were able to find the manatees right away to get great views of them. It's very well kept and nice clean bathrooms. There's no parking except some handicap spots, but you can park at the center across the street and take the shuttle or walk in.

Becoming one of my favorite Hangout spots. Really love the vibe during the week love visiting all the different boat ramps watching people launch their boats. Love the hidden walkways and pathways the doc is really cool. Just overall Cool vibe the bathroom is pretty clean. The sunrise and sunsets are absolutely the best no better place to view the Atlantic.

Great views of the sunset! There are a few picnic pavilions and picnic tables. Nice fishing 🎣 pier. We even found a hermit crab friend 🐚🦀☺️! Awesome icy out of a pineapple 🍍 at the local food truck by the beach. Nice white sand. Overall we had a great family day!
Kristin J — Google review
Beautiful, relatively quiet (depends on respectful visitors), beach. Beautiful white sands. Clean. Some covered concrete based spots to set up your beach chairs. Enjoy watching the birds, fishing boats, and the Gulf. Concrete block building housing bathrooms. Water fountains along outside wall. Beware we saw an adult lifting his dog up to drink from the human water fountain! Yuk. Total disrespect. Animals not allowed by the way!!
Joy S — Google review
Such a nice beach park on the road area here. Pear was gorgeous and enjoyed the nice walkway into forest. The beach it self was fun to snorkel and play I.man although water very murky and nasty sea weed everywhere. Facilities clean. It was fun
Chloe E — Google review
What a hidden gem. This location is hands down a must go with a trail, pavilions, a fishing pier, and a boat launch. This is an all around spot to check out. There restrooms on site and plenty of trash cans. I was able to see some of the famous dolphin encounters while on the pier. Locals say they come around occasionally. There's a spring nearby as well as marina where you can rent boats and buy bait if need be. Check it out for sure!!!!

This is a great spot to enjoy the beautiful Crystal Bay. The beach was super clean. There was a bathroom facility on site that was clean as well. Tons of parking space and a beautiful dock over the ocean. There is a boat launch ramp there as well. Great place for a fun beach day!
Tarra G — Google review
Has beautiful sunsets. The beach is kept very clean the picnic table are well maintained. The restrooms are kept cleaned and stocked. The beach water kinda smells. But it's a beautiful place, with a boat ramp.
Nina E — Google review
Decided to take the first trip to a small beach in Florida and was pleasantly surprised on how clean it was. It was very well maintained and there was even a fishing pier that was further back and had a walkway that was easy to traverse with a decent amount of parking. There is even a boat launch dock further down the road that was a pay to use. Prices seemed fair, I'm not sure how they compare to others yet. Along the way here there were some bird trails that you can stop at as well. It was a nice drive and will be going back in the future.

Hard to beat the beauty of the Rainbow River with its crystal clear water and beautiful scenery. We launched kayaks at KP Hole and kayaked to the state park and back. It was a beautiful experience! We went down a tributary and enjoyed a very scenic and private time. Highly recommend kayaking the Rainbow River, you will be glad you did!!!

It's a very beautiful place. There's tons of free parking available and the entrance only costs $1 per person during the summer. We went kayaking on the river. The water was crystal clear and very refreshing. On the trip we saw lots of fish, birds and turtles. There's also a little designated area to swim but you aren't able to stand there in the water because it's so deep. Definitely recommend bringing a noodle if you just want to swim in this pool! You also swim in the river while on your kayaking trip which was so refreshing 😊
Natalie S — Google review
Absolutely stunning! We rented a pontoon boat for a few hours and went up the whole Rainbow River. The water was clear as glass, you could see all the way to the bottom even in the deep parts. Tons of wildlife, we saw fish, giant turtles, and even river otters. I put on my wetsuit and jumped off the boat in a few spots, it was amazing for snorkeling and freediving. We even had scuba divers diving next to us which was really cool to see. There are a few resturants along the river you can stop and eat at too. Seems like a good place for kayaking as well!
Cody V — Google review
Beautiful place to spend the day. River is large, deep, and has quite the current. Great for whatever you’re into; scuba diving, snorkeling, paddling, tubing, or just swimming. Lots of wildlife and gorgeous views to take in. Many spots to stop for a break including the state park, KP hole, and swampys. Clear water, but it does get murky by the afternoon due to all the motor boats on the water so get in early if you’re going underwater.

Very calming and quiet environment. It’s a big property to walk around, their zen garden is fantastic for meditating, specially with the raking of the rocks. Great place for a picnic, frisbee and a quiet calm moment by yourself or someone. Bring a book if you’re a reader and some change to feed the koi fish with your children.

Shalom Park is more than a park, it’s a spiritual sanctuary made for slowing down and taking time to look around you and see why we are all here on this earth. Every time I am at Shalom I find a sense of peace in the beautiful nature surrounding me. I come here multiple times a week to get some exercise in while smelling all of the beautiful wildlife and enjoying one of Gods greatest creations. I love the concept behind Slalom, there are quotes and poems all around the park and different themes like the Japanese Garden. The amount of effort and creativity behind Shalom is something I have never experienced before and I feel blessed to be able to visit every week without paying a dime. Shalom is by far the most beautiful and artistic park I have been to filled with culture and knowledge. The park is privately owned and open to the public, they close fairly early around 5pm and no pets are allowed.

Visitors can explore moss-covered Cypress trees, floral gardens, impressive waterfalls, and five main springs. The park offers activities such as swimming, snorkeling, canoeing, kayaking, and tubing in the clear waters.
This is a very nice state park, the waters are crystal clear, however, quite cold during our visit. Keep in mind the water can range from five feet all the way up to eighteen feet. There are a variety of well maintained hiking trails and various waterfalls you can observe. At the entrance there is also a gift shop and cafe for dining. This is a great place for exploring the springs and natural landscape in central Florida with the rolling hills. I would recommend it!
Khoi N — Google review
We enjoyed our visit. The waterfalls and walking trails are beautiful. All concrete walkways, extremely well maintained. Gorgeous foliage! Thick, and lush with lots of geckos, and butterflies. Well organized and managed. Friendly volunteer workers. Modern, clean restrooms too! There's also an air-conditioned visitor center where you can buy souvenirs, pool noodles, hats, etc. There's a small cafe on site with covered eating area too. We plan to return in October with kayaks and spend the day on the gorgeous water.

Rainbow Springs State Park is absolutely breathtaking! The water is crystal clear with the most stunning shades of blue and green it really feels like you’ve stepped into a tropical paradise. The swimming area is refreshing and perfect for cooling off on a hot Florida day. The walking trails are peaceful, full of lush greenery, waterfalls, and wildlife, making it a great place to explore and relax. The park is very clean, well-kept, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Whether you want to swim, kayak, or just enjoy nature, this park has it all. Definitely one of Florida’s hidden gems and worth every visit!
TravelingCid — Google review
It was my first time here at rainbow Springs State Park. I have to say I will definitely be back. I really enjoyed the spaciousness of the river for kayaking/canoeing. It is a two hour long river however it takes twice as long to get back, we rented a kayak For one hour went down the river 20 minutes and went back up 40 minutes. The weather was incredible. We got to see turtles, a variety of birds, ducks, and even some otters which was so cool. The staff is very friendly, kind and helpful. The swimming pool was spacious enough for people to swim and some even had some Floaties. I would definitely recommend bringing a pool noodle to help float in the swimming pool as the water is deep and you cannot touch the floor. The views are incredible. The water is clear and there are three different walking trails to enjoy. I didn’t see any showers however they do have clean restrooms. I would recommend bringing a blanket, picnic basket and your own food and water to enjoy there at the park. They have several trees that you can get some shade under or you can lay out on the lawn and get some sun.
Jazzmin D — Google review
This was such an amazing experience to go to the water does feel cold if you touch it but once you jump in, it is perfect! Definitely bring items to help you swim, if you’re not a great swimmer since you can’t touch the bottom. They also sell pool noodles, but they are very thin. And don’t bring a flotation device that’s too big like a circle floaty. I had to bring mine back to the car. They do have a section of the state park where you can go tubing, but you have to drive there and I would definitely call ahead to see if there is tubing that day. I also recommend goggles so you can see in the water! They also have paddle boarding and kayaking, a water fountain, but it’s not cold hiking trails bathrooms, food options, and a gift store
Lydia C — Google review
Really torn about how to rate this park. We went on a Tuesday so no line to get in, parking was easy. But it was beastly hot, a longish walk to bathroom area and then another very steep longish walk to swimming area where there were some benches to sit on. BE AWARE that there are NO steps or ramps to enter the swimming area (the only options are to go down the ladders or to jump or dive in). That being said, this is probably the cleanest clearest water I have ever gone swimming in and I have been swimming all over the world. It was VERY difficult for me to get out of the water because it was so pleasurable being in it!! Just incredibly delightful! I could see to the deep bottom sandy floor with no chance of touching it unless I dove under. You can watch fish happily swimming around way below you. I think I was there the hottest day of 2025 so the water was perfectly refreshing.
Daughterofthe K — Google review
Spring head is great to swim in. You cannot touch. Its 20ft in some spots and no where you can stand in the water. So bring a noodle or Buy them for $3 in the giftshop. Plenty of tables and picnic grassy area. Take the historic waterfall walk. So beautiful
Rachel K — Google review
One of the best state parks I’ve been. There is parking and rest rooms! Hiking trails are paved and d non paved. Swimming in the lake kayaking that you could rent or bring your own. There are waterfalls that are made but looks so natural. Restaurant in for Burgers etc.

Silver Springs State Park is a historic Florida attraction with crystal clear spring runs, offering glass-bottom boat tours to spot turtles and alligators. The park features an on-site museum showcasing the area's natural history and a re-created 19th-century pioneer settlement. Visitors can enjoy activities such as kayaking, canoeing, and stand-up paddleboarding while encountering diverse local wildlife including manatees and turtles.
Magical. Simply magical. My husband and I had the most wonderful and relaxing time paddle boarding and kayaking here. It’s easy to book on their website (read all the instructions before you go) and super convenient. They supply the paddleboard and kayak and then even pick you and your equipment up downriver at the end of your journey to drive you back up to the parking lot. It’s a decent amount of time depending on how you pace it, for us at a super easy pace it was a bit over 3 hrs so definitely bring water! But man…what an amazing adventure. From the second you push off the rest of the world melts away and you are literally engulfed in Florida’s natural splendor. Beautifully shaped trees, crystal clear water, large fish and turtles swimming under you, gorgeous birds preening on tree stumps, diving for fish or soaring overhead and occasional crocodiles and even manatees! If you’re afraid of the heat, we went in August and it actually wasn’t so bad because there is so much shade on both sides all the way down the river to stay under. But for a half day adventure? Totally worth it! Just 3 hours of floating and relaxing and wondering at the beauty around you. Please, please, please. If you get the chance or are in the vicinity, stop and swing by. If you want to reserve a kayak or paddle board definitely do so on their website in advance. But either way, put this on your list. It’s so breathtaking and absolutely worth it 👍

My wife and I were able to return to Silver Springs State Park and take one of the glass bottom boat tours this time. We definitely recommend taking the 90 minute tour as opposed to the 30 minute one. Our captain and guide, T.C., did an excellent job telling us about the history of the park and the details of the springs. He also pointed out the wildlife and gave us details about the ecosystem. We were fortunate to see a number of the animals that inhabit the river including manatees, alligators, monkeys, and numerous wading birds. After the boat ride, we had lunch at the cafe and were impressed with the food quality and prices. This is a great place to spend the day.

My mother-in-law was in town and we took a troop up there to rent a canoe and see wildlife. The water was beautiful, as a spring is always are, we saw alligator, turtles, tons of birds and fish! The water is absolutely clear. We did our own little thing in a canoe with three of us... And my service dog. We had an absolutely wonderful time and will definitely go back. I would suggest doing a tour because we caught a few tours that were giving some pretty cool information and we will definitely try that next time. After we were done we went hiking a little bit. We ran into a gentleman who was liking along the trail and he warned us that there are bear there. So next time I will definitely take some mace with us just in case. But the paths are well marked and it's beautiful. Lots of hiking to be had. It's pretty flat but very sandy.

What a beautiful place. We went to the park and rode the 90 minutes Glass bottom boat for the very reasonable senior discounted price of $25 a person. Captain Luke was knowledgeable and funny. It was a really nice boat ride. We saw anhingas, turtles, alligators, monkeys and several other birds. What a beautiful place. I'm glad that it is a state park. We are lucky to have such a nice place

My friend came to visit so we played tourists for the day and drove to the spring for the glass bottom boat ride and brunch. We had such a lovely visit in the park. The park is beautiful, we'll maintained, lovely local vegetation and wildlife from birds to reptiles. We strolled the pathway for a while taking it all in. The glass boat ride did not disappoint with one exception no Manatee but we saw the wonderous and famous springs, turtles, alligator and tons of birds. The Captain was entertaining and knowledgeable about the history of the springs. Then we enjoyed brunch at the café on sight. We lingered there for a while enjoying sangria, coffee drinks and of course delicious entrees of eggs Benny and chicken and waffles. After brunch we enjoyed checking out the shops and the water fountain. All in all a great park for a visit. I look forward to returning for some kayaking

Wow.. what an amazing way to spend a few hours! We rented the glass bottom kayaks which were very easy to control after about a minute in them. They are made to not tip very easy and one person on the tour with us went from sitting to kneeling and moving to the front to get a picture with no issues at all. Alyssa, our guide, was very knowledgeable, kind and beautiful. Our time in the water was 2 hours and every minute we were finding something to see. Manatees, turtles, alligators, they have monkeys but were not around on this day, fish etc. A very peaceful experience and perfect for most anyone that can get into a kayak and paddle. You will not be disappointed with the site for sure. There is some places to eat etc on site as well.

This is a must-see experience if you do the 90 minute glass bottom boat tour. The Springs are incredibly beautiful. We got to see lots of manatees, alligators, turtles, and birds. Sadly, we did not see any monkeys. I highly recommend! Male a reservation in advance to guarantee you get on one of the boats.

Great boat ride. Beautiful area and lots of wildlife. Had a great time. The only not so great was the restaurant. We ordered cheese sticks and cheese bread. Way too greasy. Try the ice cream instead.

Devil's Den Prehistoric Spring and Campground

Located in Williston, Florida, Devil's Den Prehistoric Spring is a unique underground spring nestled inside a dry cave. The name "Devil's Den" was given by early settlers due to the steam rising from its depths like smoke from hell. This 50-foot-deep sinkhole offers crystal-clear water at a constant 72 degrees, making it an ideal spot for snorkeling and scuba diving.
Unbelievable experience!!!! It's a Florida must see, whether you live here or are just visiting. Definitely a bucket list item. The entire park was beautifully maintained and the staff was FANTASTIC. Highly recommend staying in their cabins. Make sure you visit the gardens next door.
Jennifer B — Google review
Visiting this was kind of disappointing. If you wanted to just be able to see the cavern area, you can only do that Monday - Thursday and for $7 a person. There is nothing else to do there unless you happen to be camping there. If you scuba though, this seems like the place to go. They have spots for your gear, to load up and go from. That seemed to be the reason most people were there in a Sunday. The campground looked very well maintained, its a quiet area but its just a small park. Not much else to do there to be honest which js why, as a local who likes to visit new places on the fly, I gave it a 2.
Brandy P — Google review
You need to arrive at the specific time frame when the sun is right above the Den to see the whole beauty of this place. Other than that, it is an interesting location for 15-minute visits. Didn't like the idea of pushing customers to rent their own equipment.
Aleksei R — Google review
Book your spot on their website before coming. This secures your booking slot. We went during summer, brought our own snorkel gear. No floating device is allowed. This den is deep so please if you do not know how to swim - do not go. The stair area was up to my neck at the time we went. The water is cold - so I wore a long suit. Had a great time. There’s also the garden next to this spot if you want to hit two events in one day. Definitely a cool place to experience.

Visiting Devil’s Den Spring was an unforgettable experience. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted by a unique atmosphere unlike any other diving or snorkeling spot in Florida. The underground spring is absolutely breathtaking, with crystal-clear water that allows you to see every detail beneath the surface. The rock formations and shafts of sunlight filtering through the opening create a magical, almost surreal scene. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and ensures that you feel safe and prepared, whether you’re snorkeling or scuba diving. The water is refreshingly cool, which is perfect on a hot Florida day, and the visibility is outstanding. It’s also a great spot for taking incredible underwater photos. While the facilities are simple, they are clean and well-maintained. I would highly recommend Devil’s Den Spring to anyone looking for a mix of adventure, natural beauty, and a truly unique Florida experience.

I’ve visited similar places in Mexico, and this one definitely didn’t disappoint. The water is beautiful, the vibe is chill, and it’s a great place to escape for a bit. Just make sure to book your tickets in advance — they often sell out for the whole upcoming week. We managed to get the earliest available slot at 8:00 AM. We were on a motorcycle road trip from Miami and arrived a bit late, but no worries — you get 1.5 hours from the time you check in. So if you’re running behind, it’s not a big deal. You can rent masks and wetsuits on-site, or bring your own gear if you prefer. We also booked a campsite here (it was $44 for a tent site), but ended up staying in a hotel instead. Still, the campground looked nice and well-organized. Overall, the atmosphere was great peaceful and worth the trip.
Margaret — Google review
This place is a fantastic find, located in Williston, just a 30-40 minute drive from Gainesville. The booking process was straightforward: we signed a waiver online and paid a small deposit of about $5 per person to reserve our spot. The total cost is $25 each, so upon arrival, we just gave them our phone number at the ticket office and paid the remaining balance. Once inside, we recommend grabbing a picnic table to set up your home base for the day. The facility is well-equipped with several grills, a small store for essentials, a beach volleyball court, and even showers in the men's restroom. We had booked the very first time slot at 8:00 AM on a Sunday. The big advantage of going this early was getting to see the wildlife before anyone else disturbed it. If you get in the water quickly, you can spot turtles and some impressively large fish. However, we realized we made a mistake with the timing and would recommend a later slot, perhaps around 11:00 AM or closer to lunchtime. In the early morning, there isn't enough sunlight to illuminate the spring, so the water is quite dark and you can't see its true beauty. The real magic happens when the sun is higher in the sky. As we were getting ready to leave, the sunlight started to hit the water, and the most incredible "Avatar-like" blue and green colors began to appear. Since the spring has a rocky bottom instead of sand, the water clarity doesn't get ruined by swimmers kicking up sediment. Visibility is almost entirely dependent on the amount of sunlight. So, if you want the most visually stunning experience and to see the spring in all its glory, definitely book a time slot for later in the morning or early afternoon.

“One-of-a-Kind Adventure!” Devil’s Den is an absolute must-visit! The underground spring is stunning — crystal-clear water with a magical, almost otherworldly atmosphere. Snorkeling here felt like stepping into another world, surrounded by unique rock formations and shafts of sunlight streaming through the opening above.

Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Historic State Park offers a glimpse into the farm life of the famous Pulitzer Prize-winning author. The Florida Cracker style home and farm have been meticulously restored, allowing visitors to experience the authentic 1930s atmosphere. The park features guided tours of Rawlings' farmhouse, gardens, and remnants of an orange grove. With an admission fee of $3 per car, visitors can explore the grounds and enjoy a nature walk.
I am a native Floridian and have never been to this little slice of heaven before! Beautiful grounds and a very nice tour of the home. I could have explored and soaked in true Florida there all day. Will definitely be back.

Just outside of Gainesville a little ways, is a magical piece of history. Today, after my hubby's treatment, we got the joy of splorin' at Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings State Park. What a treasure! As you meander through her beloved orange grove or walk upon the old front porch, you can almost hear her typewriter clacking away. What a splendid place where she wrote such treasures as The Yearling and Cross Creek. If you ever get the opportunity, you must come and experience it!🥰

I'm a volunteer docent and find the park to have great "Old Florida" charm through our Interpretive tours of the farm's history. The stories of the local Florida Crackers of a Century ago, and the Author, Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, who adopted the area as inspiration to her writing, are amusing, illuminating of the period, and sometimes startling. The docents dressed in period clothing add a 1940s feeling of stepping back in time.
Carolyn B — Google review
The only reason I gave 4 stars is the Google Profile for the MK Rawlings house was hard to find and it didn't have accurate hours posted. Unfortunately we showed up on a day it was closed. Luckily we could still walk the grounds and peek in the windows. Loved seeing the kitchen garden and the free range chickens with at least one vocal rooster. We didn't spend much time there due to the steamy FL summer weather, but I'm so glad I got to see the charm of it all.

We throughly enjoyed our visit to Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Historic State Park. The grounds and the trails were beautifully scenic. I especially enjoyed walking the jungle trail behind the house with the many cypress trees and orange trees. The tenant house was open for a self guided tour, and had three rooms and a large porch.. We toured the farmhouse with a tour guide. We were taken through each room. Our guide pointed out interesting things that Ms. Rawlings wrote about in her book, “Cross Creek.” I am very glad I had the foresight to read that book before the tour.

Manatee Springs State Park is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers. The park offers crystal-clear waters perfect for scuba diving and snorkeling, with the chance to spot West Indian manatees in their natural habitat. Visitors can enjoy a three-day 'springs break' exploring the beautiful springs of Florida's Nature Coast region, with options to stay at the park's campground or comfortable cabins nearby.
Great time visiting here, several options to do here, there was a cool bridge/walkway to check out, saw turtles and herons. There are kayak rentals here to do, a small snack shop that also sells floats, goggles, t-shirts etc. to swim there were a few areas to pick from to go in, definitely bring water shoes, goggles and a float, the water was freezing 🥶 to say the least but after getting in and maybe 10 minutes later it was somewhat tolerable. The bottom here looks to be around 40 feet, super clear it was definitely a fun experience!

Nice state park with plenty of access to springs. Also, easy park entry as the street that it is on literally dead ends at the park entrance. Also the boardwalk out to the Suwanee River is a must see! Tip: Bring your own floats to relax in the water Pros - Plenty of parking - Very friendly staff and rangers - Paved road Into park - Fantastic boardwalk - Numerous stairways into springs - Plenty of kayaks on hand for rent - Bathrooms are cleaner than most - Has a snack bar, small store and ice Cons - Stairways could use an extra step or two into water - Hiking trails were minimally marked and maintained
Harry C — Google review
Beautiful spring, perfect for cooling off in the hot weather. The swimming area is quite large. There is a separate ramp that you can use to paddle out into the Suwannee River and canoe/kayak rentals are available at the park. A beautiful boardwalk also takes you down to the river. There is a small concession stand and store, but we didn't visit as we tend to pack lunch and being what we need. We plan on returning in the colder months to hopefully spot some manatees.
Christina M — Google review
Beautiful crystal clear, cool springs for swimming, and a great little creek for paddling, that meets the Suwanee River a couple hundred meters down. Camp sites are adequate sized, with electric and water, a little vegetation between sights for visual break. Clean bathrooms. A great place to camp for a few days.
Michael B — Google review
This review is specifically for snorkeling the spring, which I did with my kids. Pros: Not very crowded, even on a Saturday - the swim area is relatively large. Multiple (3x) entry/exit points (stairs) into the swim area. There are shallow areas where you can stand and take a break if you're not a strong swimmer. Bathrooms had two stalls, cleanliness was average. Manatee has a particularly stunning blue color compared to other springs. Cons: There is quite a bit of algae that is covering most underwater surfaces and is coming off in mats and chunks. Kids weren't excited to come in contact with these. Water was clear enough, but noticeably more murky than other central Florida springs. Summary - I wouldn't likely come back exclusively to snorkel this particular spring, but it is well worth exploring as part of a larger visit while doing many other activities this park has to offer.

Manatee Springs state Park is so beautiful! It has a doc right off the river and close to the inlet of the spring! I was really hoping to see more gators and birds in the river but I suppose they stay away from populated areas!

Great campsite. Great park. No wifi and weak cell service but you shouldn't be on your devices anyway here. Its beautiful and well kept. The spring is cold to swim in but refreshing. I wish we stayed more nights. Site has 30 and 50 hookups. Sewer connection is higher than normal so you need those hose supports. Deer, raccoons and armadillos are at the site too as we found out.
Jason A — Google review
Being a Sr from FL I appreciate the discount we received. The park is clean & the campsite #6 was perfect & level. I fit my Class C 27ft & had room for my Toad & a visitor car also as it was wide enough. The Springs was cold, but with slowly adjusting to it, I took the refreshing plunge. Make sure you bring your googles & if you have them some fins & snorkels. Beautiful scenery. The only downside is that check-in time is 3pm, but checkout is 1pm. I only had 2 nights so my first day was wasn't much time to explore after setting up, checked out the swimming hole, & then cooking. It would be nice to have an earliar check-in & out.

The Florida Museum in Gainesville offers a captivating exploration of the state's natural and human heritage through both indoor and outdoor exhibits. Unlike typical Natural History museums, this one stands out with its modern and unique displays that educate visitors about various aspects of Florida's geology and wildlife.
This is a great free museum with so much to do! I had so much fun, and my kids enjoyed every part of it. There’s something for everyone — we’ll definitely be back! The hands-on exhibits kept my kids entertained for hours, and I loved how educational and interactive everything was. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the whole place was clean, well-organized, and easy to explore. It’s the perfect spot for a family outing — fun, engaging, and totally free. Highly recommend for anyone with young kids looking for a day of learning and play

What a hidden gem! This free museum was well worth the 1.5-hour drive from where we live. We brought four teens (ages 13–17), and they actually enjoyed it — they even stayed off their electronics, which says a lot! It’s a great day trip for all ages. We especially loved the butterfly experience — the atrium is absolutely gorgeous!

The Florida Museum of Natural History is a charming science museum that’s perfect for a day out with family or friends. It’s not huge, but it’s packed with engaging exhibits that make learning fun and accessible. My favorite part is the Butterfly Rainforest; it’s absolutely beautiful and peaceful, a must-see for all ages. I always walk away having learned something new. A great spot to explore and appreciate the wonders of nature!

Great for kids 3 to 12 I would say. Lots of learning experiences and knowledge about geography and animal science. My child loved their butterfly exhibit a lot.

We had a great day exploring the museum. The butterfly exhibit is the main attraction but there is a lot more neat exhibits inside as well. We spent a good 3 hours and probably could have spent a little more time . The kids ages ranged from 3 to 11 and they all had a great time . All the workers were extremely nice and helpful. Turned out to be a great day and well worth the drive from Ocala.

This is a wonderful museum on UF campus! After 3:30pm on weekdays and on weekends, the large parking lot lifts and is free. The museum has free entry and some exhibits are paid, such as the butterfly garden. There is something for everyone, some areas having activities for kids. The butterfly garden is the best part, I could go back over and over! Hundreds of species of butterflies and many birds walk around.

The Butterfly Rainforest at the Florida Museum of Natural History is a captivating interactive exhibit located within the University of Florida Cultural Plaza. It showcases over 1,000 butterflies and moths from around the world in a lush 6,400-square-foot rainforest. Visitors can also explore indoor butterfly exhibits featuring hundreds of different species. The museum offers daily butterfly spotlights for an up-close encounter with these delicate insects. Additionally, visitors can observe birds, turtles, and fish within this enchanting natural habitat.
I can’t think of a better place to spend a couple hours honestly. Now I understand most people will not spend that length of time, it will be a neat thing to walk through and that’s about all. But for me, the sounds of the waterfalls and the different birds make it an absolute oasis to experience. I probably spent easily an hour in there looking at the different plants, butterflies and birds. Then there’s the graceful fish to watch swim around. All in all well worth the cost of admission.

Butterfly Rainforest had a nice large enclosed patio area full of beautiful butterflies and Luscious Landscaping. It was also a little bigger then I thought it would be. I didn't realize it had a full Museum inside until we arrived and I saw the sign for the museum. The museum was great it had a lot of different displays and was very informative. This is a great place for young & older children alike. Heck, I'm middle-aged and love it!!..

We had an amazing experience here at the butterfly garden! Seriously can't say enough good. We got a couple dollar discount on admission because of being FL residents. The indoor portion was very informative and educational. Also very well laid out and organized. The outdoor area, actual rainforest garden, was beautiful! Water fountains, birds, butterflies and beautiful plants. We enjoyed walking and taking it all in. Can easily spend a couple hours here. We enjoyed being able to observe all the nature up close in a safe weather proof environment. The Florida museum is right next door. We did not visit that today, but it was quite large and looked to be a full day. Parking was $4 and in a lot right next to museum. Restrooms available and a nice fair prices gift shop and penny machine at entrance.

From the outside, I wasn't overly impressed or enticed; it doesn't look like much. Furthermore, the external signage for this experience was almost non-existent .. Also, for the very good natural history museum. But, it's a hidden gem! Go there.

100% worth the drive and the admission. Great for recharging and relaxation. Between the sounds of the waterfalls and the birds and the multitudes of butterfly species it was a sensory overload. Combine this attraction with the natural history museum and the art museum next door (both free admission) and you've got your morning or afternoon fully covered.

Devil's Millhopper Geological State Park, located just outside Gainesville, is a unique historical and geological site. The park features a giant sinkhole with steep walls that descend 120 feet below the surface, creating an amazing miniature rainforest. Visitors can hike to view small waterfalls, thick foliage, and lush vegetation in this otherwise sandy terrain.
Very enjoyable! It's a long way down in but there are landings every so often so a person can rest! If you're not up to the stairs you can walk around the park on an extremely easy trail to hike. And a nice bridge to walk across! You can see one of the creeks that runs into the sink hole. It does have roots so watch your step. The Rangers were extremely nice!
Verna S — Google review
We absolutely love this place! This area is absolutely beautiful. Be prepared for some stairs (132 stair steps broken up by small landings one way!) It is well worth the workout! There were several small waterfalls since it had rained the day before. Take advantage of the lovely benches at the top of the trail and enjoy!
Rebecca A — Google review
Would love more trail but thankful for what’s there. The trail at the top around the rim is only 0.5 miles. 264 stairs round trip to the sinkhole observation deck. Would love it it you could get closer (ground level boardwalk?) to them bottom or have access to the water. Typical state park prices but I’m a pass holder so didn’t need to pay - you can pay online. They do a guided walk on Saturday AMs if you’d like that. I prefer self guiding. The visitor center looks fabulous with very nice displays. Super large clean restrooms (unisex). Picnic tables and grills available. Benches along the 0.5 mile trail. Plenty of parking. Lots of shade so even on a hot day it’s good.
J. R — Google review
It was OK. I'm sure it's much more spectacular with more water, but we also visited Providence Canyon, GA this year which is no comparison. It's a great spot to stop off and stretch your legs. The stairs were a nice workout since I haven't been on the stairclimber in a few days. And the nature was nice and shady. I'd say it was between .5 and .75 mi around. The parking lot also has a lot of shade and several picnic tables to enjoy a sandwich or snack. There's restrooms and some educational info as well.
C W — Google review
This place is awesome. Be ready to enjoy the descent, but remember you have to climb back up! 😁 They do a great job educating about the area with signs posted throughout.
Angela M — Google review
It took us about 40 minutes to check out and enjoy the place including short trip to restroom, hike the 264 steps round trip down the sinkhole, photo ops, and hike the short nature trail. You pay using the QR code at the entrance. “Pets on leash only.”
Marlonski B — Google review
A quiet place to admire nature, get some exercise walking up and down the many steps on the stairways, and breathe some fresh air-all located right in the city! When I've visited in the mornings, the water at the bottom of the sinkhole was bluish colored. During the daylight, it turns a brownish color..
Erica B — Google review
An excellent place to visit to see some really unique geology in Florida. You can pay with your phone or just leave your state park pass on your dash if you have one. There is a nice occasion shelter with bathrooms when you walk up. The bathrooms are kind of "around the corner" and are not necessarily obvious. From the information center it's a short walk to the main stairs that take you down into the "sink". There is also a walking trail but we got rained out and will have to explore that another time.

Absolutely amazing guided tour and for an amazing price. They could have charged double and easily would still be worth it. You can this place is about the animals not the money. Mia the host was a walking encyclopedia of knowledge, she knew more about any animal in the park than any zookeeper I’ve ever talked to. Barry was a great host, always feeding the various cats in several different locations so that everyone could see these amazing animals. Great job!!! Would recommend easily to anyone.

Our tour was incredible! Mia was very knowledgeable and fun. It was a thrill to be able to be so close to the animals. Their Habitats are very large and clean. You can tell the animals are content and well cared for. Highly, highly recommend.

The Saturday tours are a fantastic experience. Worth every penny plus a donation. They work to, as much as possible, get you great views of the animals up close. Have you ever heard a tiger crunch bones? While 6 feet from you? This place will spoil you on zoos. These are large enclosures, no concrete, well loved animals. Many are rescues, many are part of endangered breeding programs. The staff are knowledgeable and can answer any questions. The tour is with several folks, including the owner of the place. I have visited several times for open houses, but the tour was a huge step up in terms of experience and learning. I was also very impressed at the many additions since my last visit a few years ago. So many new animals and enclosures! Personally, the Saturday tour was 10x the experience of an open house and that was already one of my most favorite events in Alachua county. My kids: 2, 8 and 11 had a good time and all had new favorite animal! Bring drinks and a snack for the kids. It is sunny, wear sunscreen.

Our 2nd grade field trip to Carson Springs Wildlife Sanctuary was absolutely amazing! The staff were so knowledgeable and passionate about the animals, and they did a wonderful job teaching our students in such an engaging way. The kids were blown away by how close they were able to get to the animals — it was truly a one-of-a-kind experience! We’re so thankful for the warm welcome and can’t wait to visit again next year. Highly recommend for any school group! 🐾💚

I was so impressed with the efforts and care that owners Christine and Barry are giving these beautiful creatures. Supported by a handful of volunteers, private and commercial sponsors of some of the animals and male-female pairs, and limited donations has kept Carson Springs Wildlife Conservation (a non-profit organization) alive for over 20 years. It’s immediately clear when you arrive and drive through two electric perimeter gates permitting access through the 8’-10’ fences that safety and security is paramount. The animals appear well cared for simply by the way the animals are so active on such a warm summer day. The golf-cart ride through their 70 acre, Non-profit Conservation area was both educating and inspirational. I left with the feeling of wanting to become a volunteer and help with their efforts of the animals. The many breeding pairs and babies shows the success of this organization. Our favorite was Desmond (the Giraffe). The kitty stretched up on the fence while eating weighs over 650lbs. Check out our photos!

Such a cool place to visit! The staff is so knowledgeable, the animals so well taken care of, and the facility is simply beautiful. It was very hot out being late July, but the employees passed out umbrellas to help shield us from the heat, they were so considerate. All proceeds from gift shop go to the animals as well. I included the one photo I managed to get of Bagy the tortoise, he was unimpressed by his visitors and quickly made his way back to a shaded spot. Can’t wait to come back and bring my family!

Our 3 and 5 year old girls loved this tour. The close proximity and interaction with the animals was amazing. The tour was also very informative for the adults.

An amazing place for people of all ages!! Our tour guide, Mia, was great to have on our Valentine’s Day tour! You can tell they genuinely care for the animals there. Along with the conservation of these magnificent creatures. I would recommend everyone to tour here at least one, and maybe consider sponsoring some animals or donating!

Ginnie Springs Outdoors, LLC

Campground
Nature & Parks
Clear springs with caverns for scuba diving, snorkeling & swimming, plus a campsite & dive shop.
Ginnie Springs is a great spot for family fun! There’s something for everyone here, you can tube, paddle board, kayak, or even dive. The water stays a refreshing 72°F all year round, which makes it perfect for cooling off. The cave system is interesting, but it can feel a bit small for open water divers, so keep that in mind. We also enjoyed having a BBQ while we were there. They have plenty of picnic tables and grills, but it’s first come, first served, so try to get there early if you want a good spot. Overall, it’s a beautiful place to relax, explore, and spend the day with family and friends.
Zoe M — Google review
I love going to parks and springs, but Ginnie Springs is exceptionally beautiful. The water is extremely clear and clean. At first, my group and I asked about alligators, but we didn't see any gators out. The park rangers keep the park, showers, and bathrooms relatively clean. It was a beautiful experience... the springs are very cold and clear. There are underwater cave systems too! Highly recommended.

I absolutely loved my time at Ginnie Springs! The water was so clear it felt like swimming in a giant natural aquarium. I spent the day tubing and paddle boarding, and it was the perfect mix of fun and relaxation. The campground was clean and had a great family vibe everyone was friendly and just there to enjoy the outdoors. If go on high season try make a reservation.
Cesar L — Google review
Before going to the park we did read some reviews. Opposite of what many said the staff was very friendly. It is low season that could be a the reason for it. The springs are beautiful and the water was very refreshing. We did not camp we stayed for the day. The pros: - The beauty of the springs - Reasonable prices - Everything can be done walking - The bathrooms were relatively well cleaned if you take in consideration the amount of people there. Cons: - If you are looking for relaxing and listen to nature’s sound forget. In every corner you will find a family/ group listening to reggaeton as loud as they can. - Bring your own snacks. There are a couple of food trucks but the food was not very appealing. Don’t forget to bring water shoes. It can be a plus to enjoy all the park has to offer. Apart from the noise and the smoke smell this park is worth a visit. There is no lifeguard on duty in any of the 6 springs.

The place is amazing, I love it but the only thing is the gate old man is so rude, I've been there many times and I don't like that kind of person! He must remember we the guests support his family because we spend our money and he get a payment for his labor. He must remember he's the first face the guests are watching and if he treats us like that, unfortunately we won't come back and with no guests, they could close the park because him. So please let him know the he must be nice with the guests. Outside of that, everything else is good! I recommend this place.
Jonathan S — Google review
Ginnie Springs is beautiful. It's a classic spot to learn to scuba dive and the water is crystal clear. However, as a campground it is awful and it ruins the experience of being at the springs. You pay per person ($40 per person May-Oct), which is very expensive for what you get. What you get is an extremely crowded campground with only a few bathrooms. The bathrooms were crowded, lines to use the toilet and showers, and overall pretty old and dingy. I am not sure if they don't have hot water or they ran out, but my shower was cold. For the price you pay, it is ridiculous. There are other campgrounds which cost much less, are less crowded, and have better facilities. There were hundreds of people camping the weekend we were there, so what does Ginnie Springs do with all the money they are making?! They certainly aren't using it to keep up the facilities. Additionally, there is a party atmosphere, so it was hard to sleep with music playing, car alarms going off (multiple times in the night!), and generators going.
CJ J — Google review
Ginnie Springs is honestly one of the most beautiful spots in Florida — the water is crystal clear, cold, and unbelievably blue. It feels like swimming in bottled spring water. The different spring areas all have their own vibe, whether you want to float, snorkel, explore, or just relax by the water. It’s definitely a popular spot, so expect crowds on weekends, but the beauty of the springs still makes the trip worth it. The water is refreshing (and freezing at first!), but once you’re in, it’s perfect. You can see fish, underwater rock formations, and the clarity is unreal. Great for GoPro photos too. The grounds are huge, with places to walk, grill, or hang out between swims. Camping is available, and a lot of people come for tubing down the river, which is super relaxing and one of the best parts of the park. If you’re looking to experience that classic Florida spring water — clear, blue, and icy cold — Ginnie Springs is a must. It’s beautiful, outdoorsy, and feels like a little hidden slice of paradise.
Veronika T — Google review
Ginnie Springs and Devils Eye diving was good! First fresh water dive for this 30 year SCUBA veteran and I was amazed at the clarity; springs go figure. This short shallow dives are great for newbies or for veterans looking for mild water temp in winter. Rental equipment available for those who need tanks, weights and lights.

Ichetucknee Springs State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
Park
Park featuring a 6-mi. river with summer tubing through wetlands, wildlife sightings & snorkeling.
Did this during the week as I heard weekends were extremely busy and it was so worth the it. Took myself and two kids and did an hour float down the river. This was a first time experience for all of us and we truly enjoyed the experience and the day. If we didn’t have a two and a half hour drive back we would have taken advantage of a second run down the river. During the week parking was plentiful. It does take some time to get the tubes. I do recommend going online ahead of time and filling out the waivers. Once that was completed it’s a short walk to the entry point then nothing but floating and enjoying the water. At the end of the river a shuttle will pick everyone up and bring you back to the entry point. We could have gone for another run, however our drive back home seemed to become more important. My suggestion would be to get there when it opens and enjoy a few runs. There is a small park entrance fee at the main gate and the cost of the tubes is very reasonable; however, food prices are pretty steep so packing food is suggested. Hope you enjoy just as much as we did.
John B — Google review
Went for a day trip with my family, total of 4. The park is very reasonably priced. We paid $6 to enter and then $84 for our tubes, (pictured) and tram service. The float was serine, and we had an amazing time seeing nature. It wasn’t too busy during our visit. The north was closed so we couldn’t swim. The gift shop and food was also reasonably priced. I’ve been coming here since a kid, and this was my first time as an adult with a family of my own. Very clean as well. 10/10 can’t wait to come back.

Loved this place! We drove 3 hours from Savannah, Georgia just for the clear springs and it was so worth it! The water is crystal clear and nice and COLD!!! But once you get in it feels amazing! They had tons of picnic tables, bathrooms, a playground, a food truck, and even a little store, if you forgot any essentials. Plenty of parking! We had two people in the car so it was $6 to enter the gate but besides that, we didn’t have to pay for anything. They have canoes, tubes, and so much more you can reserve easily on their website! It’s best to reserve the day before if possible. They have a nice place to swim and then a walk down is a blue hole you can jump in and swim in as well! I saw some dogs there so it’s dog friendly but there are some areas where they aren’t allowed to be as well. There were park rangers at the entrance of the swimming area and they were very helpful and answered any questions! Larger floats are not allowed in the springs but noodles and smaller floats are allowed! Very pleased with our visit and would totally come back again!

We visited Ichetucknee Springs State Park today, and what an amazing experience it was! This was our first ever trip in Florida and to a spring, and the place truly felt like heaven. From Gainesville it took us about 45 minutes, and we entered through the north gate ($6 per vehicle). After parking, we started with the Blue Hole Trail (0.4 mi), all geared up with binoculars and camera for birding. Along the way we spotted titmouse, northern cardinal, ibis, Carolina wren, and white-eyed vireo. The trail led us to the Blue Hole Spring, the deepest spring here, and it was simply breathtaking – crystal-clear blue water that looks like something out of a dream. We then explored Trestle Point and the Pine Ridge Trail (about 2.25 mi) before heading over to the Head Spring, where we couldn’t resist jumping right into the refreshing spring water. What an unforgettable experience. The park also offers kayaks and canoes for rent, which is perfect if you want to explore the Ichetucknee River and enjoy the beauty of the springs from the water. Between the trails, wildlife, and the chance to swim and paddle, this park has it all.

We had a blast, absolutely loved it and we will definitely be back. Only bummer was the big swimming hole was closed down due to repairs but we plan to go back so we can enjoy the river and both swimming springs. It was beautiful and water so clear.
Brooke P — Google review
Beautiful, serene park. The Blue Hole is amazing. The water is crystal clear and cold. Bring a noodle pr some sort of floatation device and googles. The current is extremely strong, even for a strong swimmer. This is a gem of a state park.

What a beautiful creation of God, best springs, though short, I've ever kayaked on. Clearest, cleanest waters ! Best time to go is late November with the falling leaves and beautiful change of colors of all the trees, plenty of turtles, birds and even saw an alligator.
Namaste W — Google review
We had an amazing time! The cabins were lovely, featuring a window air conditioning unit that I didn't expect, along with a table and four chairs, two rocking chairs, and a broom. The beds were comfortable for the kids, and I even managed to fit a full-size inflatable air mattress in there too. The bathrooms were surprisingly clean for a campground. The spring was just a two-minute drive away, with the river where you can canoe, kayak or tube down is like 5 minutes drive away the scenery was stunning all around, making it a really enjoyable experience. The only downside was the lights out at 11:00; the kids were on vacation and wanted to have some fun. Also a little different that we had two houses behind us. However, you can still relax by the campfire with some ambient noise. We definitely plan to visit this campground again.

Riverside state park dedicated to composer with a museum, camping, trails, craft square & gift shop.
We stopped in for an overnight, booking online was simple, the ranger who greeted us was extremely helpful. The sights are spacious and spread apart for privacy. The restrooms are clean and they have outside laundry, we don’t have time to explore, but will make time durning next stop on our way to Orange Beach or Nashville. It looks as though the hurricane has some lasting impacts, I hope they get the funding to bring it back to its original beauty.

We hiked from the state park, thru the biking trails out to the lookout then back up using the Florida trail. There is good elevation change thrughout with 220 ft of elevation change over the 7.3 miles I walked with plenty more miles to be had, however this section of the Florida trail is skinny with parts over-grown and ended up picking up a few ticks with the tall grasses. I definitely wouldn'tbring my dog here. Over-all this is a pretty walk but the ticks and over-grown trails lose some big points. $2 for a bike. $4 for a single person car. $5 for a multi-person car but at the very front of the park is a parking lot that takes you directly onto the Florida Trail.

Great campground. Paved access, nice sites with nice spaces. And a great dump station unlike some other FL SPs. Lots of hiking and biking trails off road. Exceeded my expectations. The museum and carrilion bell tower should be included in your visit. Quite interesting and doesn’t take a lot of time. Sad, however, that some of the buildings need serious repair.

October 2025 - ok - so there are two sets of trails. One set belongs to the Park and one set belongs to the Florida Heritage Trail system. The park trails are somewhat maintained but seldom used. The FHT system is in deep need of upkeep and rarely used. The following pics are from the SFF Park trails and cabin area.

I visited for the annual Florida Folk Festival, held during the Memorial Day weekend. So it was hot, and unfortunately an unwelcome tick followed me home (be sure to check!!). The festival is great music and folk culture. The Seminole exhibit and vendors were interesting although IDK how the women cook over an open fire in the heat.

My wife and I camped here for one evening on August 19, 2024 on our way back from Georgia to Florida. We were towing our 18 travel trailer with my Dodge Ram 1500. I had booked the camp site online about a month prior to our stay, and chose which site I wanted based solely on its proximity the restroom/shower house. When we arrived in the early afternoon, the lady who checked us in at the gift shop / camp store was polite and gave us some tippers on what to see within the park's boundaries. As we drove through the campground on the way to site, we noticed it was almost empty. Only about 4 or 5 other campers were staying there, and no one was camping in tents. That was probably because it was super hot and humid outside, and the mosquitos were out in legions. Our camp site was hard grass, with some gravel underneath it, but it had rained a lot prior to arrival, so the grass was a bit spongy and soggy. It was plenty deep, but not very wide, however it was secluded and had lots of privacy with trees and thick shrubs on either side. The mosquitos were VERY thick, so we had to soak our selves down in lots of insect repellent just to be able to get the trailer unhitched and hooked up to the power and water hookups. The bathrooms/showers looked almost brand new (recently constructed) and were very clean. The state park (with embedded cultural center) is quite large and has three separate campground loops. We walked through the onsite Stephen Foster Museum, which was interesting, but just not something I would drive more than 30 minutes to visit. We only stopped here at this state park for a peaceful, one night sleep since it's 5 miles east of I-75, just south of the FL-GA state line, and the reviews correctly stated that it was VERY QUIET. The small one street community of White Springs, just south of the park's entrance, was almost a ghost town when we drove up and down its central avenue. There are only two restaurants in the town and one was closed. As a result, we decided to go check out the nearby town of Live Oak (about 15 miles west of the park) and stopped for a a neat bar and grill called The Brown Lantern, which had some cool pictures and Florida cracker decor on its wall. After that we drove back east and south to Lake City (about 12 miles drive SSE of the park) for dinner. That made the stopover somewhat worth it, since we'd never been to this small old Florida towns, even though we both grew up in the state. The next morning, we had a hearty, fresh made breakfast at Fat Belly's in White Springs, just south of the park's entrance, and the food and service was good. Overall, I would NOT go back here to camp at this state park because my wife and I are "glampers" (not super "outdoorsy") and we like to see as much of neighboring small towns (and their eateries and museums) as we can whenever we're on the road camping. White Springs is just a one street town, and with only two places to dine, it's just not exciting enough for us.

We had a great time camping and hiking. The park staff are wonderful and very helpful. The facilities were clean and well kept. The hiking trails are lovely and we saw lots of wildlife, birds, and flowers. Due to damage from hurricane Helene some of the trails were closed. We will absolutely be back to hike when they are fully restored.

Really nice State Park with large sites. There are two campground loops. Either are very nice. There are nice trails that you can hike with beautiful scenery. The park Ranger there was so welcoming. We used this as an overnight stop, but are looking forward to going back. There’s a nice boat ramp, easy to launch kayaks or a small fishing boat. Ranger said the park is best known for alligators, gopher tortoises and vultures.

The Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins, Georgia is a must-visit for aviation enthusiasts and history buffs. It's the second largest museum dedicated to aerospace run by the U.S. Air Force and attracts more visitors than any other attraction in Georgia outside of Atlanta. The museum spans four exhibition buildings and 21 hectares, showcasing 85 aircraft from across aviation's first hundred years.
Wonderful experience at the facility. Recommend viewing all outdoor exhibit early in the day to avoid the heat. Myself and my wife arrived at opening and spent the entire day on site besides heading to the Taco barn directly off site. A lot to see and a lot to read. I enjoyed getting to talk to the restorers about their work and how they are able to bring these planes back to museum quality.

Excellent collection of aircraft and military history. Three separate hangars and a lot of walking, so be prepared. Another nice feature is driving the perimeter road all around and seeing all the aircraft displayed on the grounds. Best of all donation only entrance. Kid friendly, easy wheel chair access and elevators. It was one of the best aviation museums I have ever seen.

This place is exceptional. There's about a 1 mile loop around all four hanger museums, huge planes along the walkway. Each museum has a specific theme and then some are multiple stories. There's also a stem education floor for children. Lastly, the playground is exceptional and is handicap accessible. Strongly recommend if you're driving through the area to stop by and visit for free. Don't forget to donate

Ocmulgee National Monument is a significant site that showcases over 10,000 years of Native American history. It features ancient earthworks built before 1000 CE by indigenous people from the South Appalachian region. The visitor center houses an archeology museum exhibiting various artifacts from the area. Visitors can explore one of the mounds and witness a 1,000-year-old floor with a ceremonial eagle carving.
If you have any interest in a subject like this, then it's fascinating. If you have no interest, perhaps a visit here will spark it.

We all had such an awesome time during the annual Native American festival; the performances, the variety of booths with items to peruse and purchase, the hands-on learning stations that taught my d.d and I how to weave baskets, make cornhusk dolls and turquoise-beaded leather bracelets, as well as the many trails, and breathtaking views of the mounds was beyond what I expected. We ended the day with a nice cool down at the museum that had fairly in-depth exhibits and a modest gift shop. This will without a doubt be a yearly event our family will hope to never miss!

The Hay House, also known as the Johnston-Felton-Hay House, is a grand 19th-century mansion located in Downtown Macon, Georgia. This architectural masterpiece spans 18,000 square feet and features 24 rooms adorned with marble statues, stained glass, ornate period furnishings, and paintings. Built in Renaissance Revival style by Italian craftsmen in 1859, it has earned the nickname 'Palace of the South' due to its grandeur.
The Hay House is must visit for anyone interested in Architecture/design and historical significance. The techniques used to create the textured walls,  wood detailing and curved pocket doors, windows and hidden passage ways are unique and truly remarkable. In addition the ventilation system created by strategically placed vents made it possible to store foods and wine throughout the year. The venting also helped cool the home in summer months. The home has many surprises that are fun to learn about. Macon Ga. has a lot to offer and the Hay House is one of its many treasures.

We took a tour of the Hay House with the fabulous guide Deborah. The house is gorgeous with many ingenious features such as running water (before the White House had that) and a cooling and warming system. The way Deborah spoke about the house and everything it made the tour more special. In the summer I do recommend to take the tour as early as possible (first ions is at 10AM) due to the heat.

An unforgettable visit — especially thanks to Deborah! Our visit to Hay House was absolutely wonderful, and a big part of that was thanks to Deborah, our tour guide. She led the tour in such an engaging way that even my six-year-old children were fully captivated — and that’s no easy task! Her storytelling, warmth, and energy truly brought the house to life. And the house itself… it’s breathtaking. The moment you step inside, it literally takes your breath away. A true architectural and historical gem. We’ll definitely be back in the winter when all the floors are open and the house is decorated for Christmas — we’re sure it will be magical!

Wonderful theatre! I’ve seen a few musicals here and I’m always impressed by the quality of the sets and performances. I love that they have live orchestras as well!

This place is one of the best theaters in the entire Atlanta area. My wife and I have seen a few shows here and we are always pleased. We caught the last show on the series “Waitress”. It was truly moving and inspirational. Cast was very talented. The theatre staff extremely helpful.

Last night was our first visit to the Aurora Theatre. We went to see a preview of The Wiz and it was absolutely amazing! From the warm customer service and convenient parking to the tasty concessions, beautiful artwork, & outstanding performance, everything was top tier. It’s such a treat to enjoy a Broadway-quality show without having to drive into the city!

I've taken my 8 year old son here to see the holiday juggling show and now the summer break magic show. Both were excellent! He was laughing and enjoying himself the whole time! The venue was clean, the staff at the ticket desk were very kind and helpful, clean restrooms, free parking, and a good, clean, kid friendly show! Will definitely be returning for more children's programs!

Wonderful theatre, always a great show. Buy a season pass, well worth it! Plus, In the Heights is coming back in May 2026

Surprised my sister with tickets to see the Wiz here. Amazing venue, friendly staff and free parking.

Such a gem in Lawrenceville... we saw The Wiz and it made us laugh a couple of times. The cast was great and everything flowed smoothly. They gave the story their own flavor which was such fun. I'd go back for another play.

Stunning theater in the heart of Lawrenceville. It’s big and beautiful, with a cute interior and a small concessions stand. I think just about any seat in this theater would be great…it’s not too big and not too small. A great size and shape for a community theater! Beautiful lighting and sound…wonderful orchestra!!!

Concert hall
Gas South Arena is a versatile 13,000-seat venue that hosts an array of events including concerts, sporting events, ballet, rodeos, conventions and trade shows. The arena has welcomed renowned artists like Paul McCartney, Ed Sheeran and Andrea Bocelli. Visitors have praised the well-organized setup of the arena and its convenient parking facilities. Guests attending concerts have appreciated the smooth arrival process and excellent views from their seats.
An amazing experience to be able to go to my first ever concert with my oldest son. We went to see Sleep Token's first concert for their 2025 tour in the USA. This place was easy to park and easy to get out. The facility was as good as you could wish for comfort and cleanliness. Looking forward to come back for more.

Came here to see Nine Inch Nails and was NOT disappointed. This place was very efficient, clean, and fully staffed. I was happy to see all the food choices with friendly people. We were up on the second floor and could still hear everything well. It had a more intimate feel. A lot of times when you sit on a second floor the magic of the concert can be lost because of bad sound quality or not being able to see good. I liked how everything was set up. This place was fabulous.
Laura — Google review
This is our second time attending a concert here. Both times have been great experiences. The entire complex is very clean and kept nice. The parking garages are very close to the building so it's an easy walk. The staff are quick at getting everyone through the lines and inside the building. All of the staff we dealt with were extremely friendly. Would highly recommending attending an event here.

Great venue. Looks like every seat had a great view! Plenty of food vendors that moved quickly. Clean bathrooms! Took a star away for parking! Easy in, GROSS out. We sat trying to get OUT of the parking lot long than the dang concert! Next time would 1 do valet or 2 park near an exit and walk. Police "help" was awful/non-existent!
Julie C — Google review
Nice venue however the seats in front of us were folding chairs like on the ground level and didn't have cup holders like people seated left and right of us. Nonetheless, the ticket price is the same. Bathroom lines are long. Concession lines are long but go fast. Handicapped parking in front and center. Wasn't bad exiting.

This arena hosts the Atlanta Gladiators. Great atmosphere. Clean restrooms. Excellent food and beverage choices. Friendly staff. Only two concerns. A patron dropped a whole slice of pizza and left it. No one from Gas South was available to clean up the pizza. Another patron had to go get paper towels and clean it up. A person was vaping in front of us. Ushers were told. But nothing was done. I know it’s not smoke, but I still dislike seeing the game through a haze.

Went to the Sleep Token show here last night and loved this venue. As someone who has been to numerous shows and different venues, this one is definitely up top. I love how it was secluded in its own area with hotel accommodations and food options either right beside or nearby. Parking was super accessible and efficient, staff was friendly, place was clean, great seating, prices were very reasonable. 10/10 venue and wish there were more like it!
Davin D — Google review
This was my second time at Gas South Arena and it has easily become one of my favorite venues. Everything is run so smoothly and the communication between staff and attendees is great. First time was for NCT 127, this time was for Sleep Token and Thornhill! We were in line and seated promptly. Staff were very pleasant and informative. I also appreciate the pricing of the food and drinks. Yes it's expensive but it's not price gouging like many places. I also really like the layout of the building and find it easy to get around and get where I need to go.

Water & Amusement Parks
Theme park
Six Flags White Water, located in Marietta, GA, is a massive 69-acre water park offering a wide range of attractions for visitors of all ages. From high-speed waterslides to relaxing lazy rivers and wave pools, this park has something for everyone. Divided into thrill rides, family rides, and kids' rides, it ensures that each member of the family finds suitable entertainment.
Six Flags White Water is a great place not only for kids but also for adults. I must say it’s a perfect spot for family gatherings. It was a great summer experience for my kids — they absolutely loved this place and had so much joy and fun! Specially thanks to Ann and Kristine (The manager) @ front gate who were much helpful to print the e-ticket and supported us well to check-in! Everything was perfect !

Easy access and parking with tickets online. Fun for the whole family but even with the map couldn't find all water ride. Will return without the kids they were afraid of the big slides.

This is a great little water park tucked away in Marietta, Georgia. It's by a giant KFC statue of a chicken. Worth checking out. When we got there it was jammed with people in line trying to park their cars. It is advisable to buy tickets in advance. We had a Six Flags membership so we were able to get into this park easily. It has lots of shade and an old feel to it. The park has been around for a very long time. They had a wave pool and lazy river which we enjoyed. There were also different types of water slides all over the place and kids areas. The most extreme water slide we went on first is called Dragon's Tail. It has a lot of steep drops. It was an intense thrill and a little crazy near the bottom where you come out. Ladies hold on to your swim tops because it could come off on this water slide. Wrap your arms around your chest please! It's that powerful. There are special areas and cabanas you can rent. I would advise you to get there early and reserve those because there will be no seating available and it could be very crammed with people. The only con I would say that the park could work on is with the bathrooms. When the park was closing, the bathrooms smelled so horribly it was disgusting. There is no attendant cleaning the bathroom or flushing the toilets. So many gross people do not flush toilets and then it smells like urine throughout the whole bathroom. It was so overpowering that I did not go to the bathroom and chose to go a gas station after we left. Please address this issue.

We took my niece to White Water on July 6th, 2025, to celebrate her birthday and enjoy a refreshing summer day. We arrived early on Sunday morning, excited and ready to beat the crowds—but to our surprise, the park was already quite busy! Since it was our first time there, we decided to take a spontaneous approach—whatever attraction we saw first, we’d go for it. Our motto was “the earlier you ride, the more fun you get,” before the lines got too long. After finding a shaded area to leave our towels and belongings, we headed straight for the rides. We tried Black River Falls (a thrilling double-tube ride), Typhoon Twister (perfect for families and lots of fun), Atlanta Ocean Wave Pool (a great place to feel the waves), Little Hooch Lazy River (ideal for relaxing and soaking in the sun), Wahoo Racer (my personal favorite—fast, exciting, and a bit mysterious), and Gulf Coast Screamer (a solid solo ride). There were also splash zones for kids to fully enjoy the water fun. Now, a few small suggestions from my experience: At the end of the more intense rides, it would be great to have a lifeguard or staff member help guests out of the water. Some landings are quite sudden, and it’s easy to get water in your nose or feel disoriented. In my case, I even strained a muscle getting out too quickly from a fast-moving tube. A bit of assistance at the end would definitely enhance the safety and experience. Also, for the Lazy River, there didn’t seem to be a designated staff member managing the entrance or handing out tubes, and the number of tubes was limited. This caused a bit of a wait—even just to float around. Without enough tubes and no help getting on them, it didn’t really feel like a “lazy” river; more like people walking through a stream. A bit more organization here would really help. On the food side: the smoked turkey leg was amazing—juicy, flavorful, and with that great meaty texture you can only get at a theme park. Definitely a must-try! However, pairing it with just chips (with salads sold out) was a bit disappointing. I hope the park can offer more diverse and better food options to match the premium pricing. Lastly, a common theme park issue: some of the most popular rides had us waiting over an hour in the hot sun, only to get a one-minute ride—so there were a few attractions we had to skip. That’s to be expected, but it would be great if there were better shade or cooling systems in the queue areas. Overall, it was a fun day, a great way to cool off, and a nice escape from the summer heat. Just make sure to wear plenty of sunscreen—the sun was absolutely intense! Despite a few areas that could be improved, it’s definitely worth a visit for families and water lovers.

First time here and it was fun. Lots of people on a Sunday but doable. Average time to ride many of the slides was around 25- 40 minutes.

My cousin and I purchased our tickets ahead of time so we did not have to wait in line for that long. White water was fun and amazing. Some of the water slides were not working but the ones that did work we enjoyed. I gave them 4 stars only because when we finally did get our food from waiting in line for foreverrrr (they told us they ran out of lids and did not have certain food available) which was a bummer but all in all it was fun. Food a bit pricey so eat before you go.

Ok, so I had a moment of nostalgia and revisited my childhood summer camp - White Water, circa 1987. On June 29, 2025, I brought my 10 year old to my childhood playground, overall, good grade, 85%. Positives: kid friendly, not overly crowded, many of the same slides exist from 40 years ago ( dragons tail, body flumes, lizard tail, little hooch, and of course the infamous wave pool). Cons: outrageous food prices. For instances: corn dog and fries, $15.99. Fries were burnt and the corn dog was radioactive hot (heat lamp or microwave, not sure); Dip n dots - $13; pizza $17 - crazy prices for not good food; all day refill drink bottle, $19.99. Locker $21. Cleanliness: men’s bathroom - excellent, very clean. I never visited without seeing an employee cleaning! Little hooch - gross, tons of leaves with no effort by employees to skim them out. Fence at wave pool - mixed feelings - safety reasons, I saw employees with yard sticks but didn’t see a single small child forced to wear a life vest, so, what’s the purpose for the fence and employee then? Safety: overall a huge improvement from decades ago. No more rafts in the wave pool hitting swimmers. Life guards were serious about cutting out horse play (great!), also serious to ensure the slides were monitored and only one person at a time. I didn’t like that a couple of rides were down for no apparent reason (Bahama). I see Bonzi pipeline doesn’t exist anymore - that’s probably a good thing. Online tickets - another improvement. Parking - $30 - outrageous!Overall, we had a good time but felt white water nickel and dimes you to death. Overall, we paid about $117 to get in, $30 to park, $21 locker, $20 glasses head strap; $10 candy, $20 cokes, $13 ice cream, $54 lunch. Nearly $300 for a family of three - without fast passes. Pros and cons, like I said. Finally: when found a lost child - 4yr old - and there was no security At the security stand by the wave pool, and the life guessed close to the hooch entrance didn’t have a radio to call for security so they told us, take the child to customer relations! That was a fail on security but again, we’re back to pros and cons (and parents should’ve watched their kid).

We went Saturday. Everything was good at the beginning. There are a bunch of rides that were closed down and not listed on the website. We had to spend the entire time at the kiddie pool because there wasn’t any family rides open. I sat down on the ledge next to this really sweet older black lady and the lifeguard walked over to me and said that I couldn’t sit there. I apologized and got up and sat on the other side. He told me that I couldn’t sit there again. I asked why because there’s over 10 other people sitting on the edge. He said I don’t allow it. I got up and realized that I was the only white person sitting there and everyone else was black. I asked him is it because the color of my skin and he refused to answer. I got my kids and left after that. The bathrooms are very unsanitary and we purchased a locker which was broken. Stood 34 minutes waiting for someone to come to the locker no one never showed up. We purchased another one so we had to rent two lockers and can’t figure out how to get a refund on the first one. Waited 40 minutes for one slice of pizza. The price of the tickets aren’t worth with over half the rides being closed. Don’t waste your money it’s definitely not worth it,

Chateau Elan Winery & Resort

Nestled on 3,500 acres of picturesque grounds, Chateau Elan Winery & Resort is a luxurious French-style chateau hotel offering an array of amenities. The resort features a renowned winery where guests can take part in tasting tours and learn about the wine-making process. With over 30 wines produced from locally grown grapes, it has gained recognition as one of the largest and most acclaimed wineries on the East Coast.
Words cannot express what a wonderful time my party had when we stayed on the grounds for my niece’s birthday. We enjoyed the tour of the winery, the wine tasting experience, and stayed at the Villa for the night. India did an amazing job giving us a tour of the winery, Kai was phenomenal with her knowledge of the wines. Both ladies made our tasting experience magical!!! Dalia was also extremely helpful. The ladies treated us with such VIP treatment and wines were excellent! I would highly recommend to anyone to come to visit these beautiful grounds with excellent service!!!
Claudette R — Google review
The grounds were absolutely beautiful—lush, well-kept, and really set the tone for a relaxing stay. My husband especially loved the golf courses at the two different locations we visited; he couldn’t stop talking about how well-maintained and scenic they were. That alone was a big highlight for us. The restaurants were great too, with good variety and consistently solid food. And overall, the customer service throughout the property was excellent—everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful. The front desk experience, though, could be better—not because of the staff, who were always polite and professional—but because the process tends to create long lines at times. When I checked out today, I stood in line for several minutes behind one guest with no movement. It wasn’t until another couple walked up behind me that the front desk clerk finally rang the buzzer to call for additional help. That was a little frustrating—especially after I’d already been waiting for a while—because she easily could’ve done that sooner. As for the rooms—they were fine, but for the price, they felt a bit underwhelming. The hotel’s overall interior is gorgeous, but the rooms themselves didn’t quite reflect the same level of quality or finish. All in all, it was a good experience. We enjoyed the stay—especially the golf—but it’s definitely on the pricier side, and I’m not sure the room quality fully lines up with the cost.

Unfortunately, there were so many issues during our stay that I felt compelled to leave a review. This resort is undeniably beautiful and has tremendous potential, which made our experience all the more disappointing. This was meant to be a ladies’ weekend getaway. Check-in was smooth and welcoming, but things quickly went downhill once we visited the pool. The service was extremely poor. Since a 22% service charge is automatically added to every bill, the waitstaff seemed uninterested in providing attentive care. We paid an exorbitant price for a very mediocre lunch, only to discover there weren’t even enough utensils provided. One of my friends ended up eating her $30 scoop of chicken with a shared plastic spoon because no one returned to check on us. The issues continued with the accommodations. Our room had visible mold and filthy vents, which felt unacceptable for a property of this caliber. Dining at Marks one evening was also unsettling—we noticed a dead cockroach in the corner near our table. For the rates they charge, I expect far higher standards of cleanliness and service. On a positive note, the spa was excellent—truly the highlight of the trip and worth every penny. Unfortunately, beyond that, the overall experience fell far short of expectations. For the prices charged, I would not return to stay at the resort or dine in its restaurants--great for a spa day only!
Tracy R — Google review
Beautiful resort and facilities. The property is gorgeous and all of the grounds and buildings are designed very nicely. The pool and hot tub are great and centrally located. There’s plenty of restaurants and bars on the property - we loved Marc’s. The spa is very relaxing snd has a nice view of a small lake in the back. The vineyard is massive and the wine tasting is a great deal. I’m only giving 4 stars because of the rooms - they are spacious but could be more modern with better appliances; most of the outlets didn’t work and the iron did not work properly either. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Q= BEST TOUR GUIDE EVER!! Stopped by for a Day Tour and tasting. Beautiful property. It's good value for what you pay. Wines are delicious & reasonably priced, plus there's lots of dining areas. Would love to stay in the future and experience the spa and other amenities. Grabbed lunch at the Irish pub- overall 4/5 Wings - 4/5 buffalo and lemon pepper Pretzels 5/5 Burger and side salad (made as cobb w/blue cheese). 4/5 Very solid meal. Would definitely return for any of these quick bites.

This is an overall very lovely resort but it falls short in some ways. My mom and I stayed at the spa for her birthday and the people who worked there were amazing. There are two reasons why I am giving 3 stars. The food is extremely overpriced for what you get. $20 for a Cesar salad is insane. Especially since it was below average. Additionally the main pedi I got at the spa was the worst I've ever received, and simultaneously the most expensive. The woman who did my treatment insulted me multiple times, making comments about bumps on my legs and how I needed a lot of extra work and that's why it was taking so long. The truth is she was just extremely slow and took SO long just cutting my nails and cuticles. There was nothing relaxing about that treatment and there wasn't even a massage ! That's the best part of any pedicure. I would go back but would not eat at the resort nor ever book another nail service.

We checked in straight from our wedding for two nights and left unimpressed. We did not receive the value we paid for. The mini fridge was left ajar and therefore warm upon our arrival while the bar across the lobby closed early "at their discretion", so we couldn't even enjoy a wedding toast... while checked in at a winery resort. The winery was ironically closed the next day due to a private event (not advertised when we booked) and the same bar from before also closed again due to filming a commercial. We did finally get to enjoy a wine from the mini fridge the next day once it did chill, but we did have to wait at the front desk for wine glasses because room service did not answer (we called 3x over an hour during the printed operating hours but only got to voicemail). The TV channels must be satellite-based as several channels we tried to watch would not play due to connectivity issues, and the TVs don't offer streaming services like modern hotels. The room itself was clean, large, and updated. TC over at Paddy's was wonderful - we did enjoy an early dinner and some good pours from her. Matias was also a delight at the hotel restaurant with an improvised wine tasting (since winery was closed). Overall, the staff was all great but we expected a much better experience with the resort amenities and therefore cannot recommend.

I had dinner here with my mother, ordering one pasta dish and a steak. The total came to $177, yet it turned out to be one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had. Although I requested the steak medium, it was served cold in the center, which is completely unacceptable. The pasta was overwhelmingly salty, and the seafood tasted as though it had been frozen, lacking any freshness. The dining environment was also unpleasant. The room was excessively loud to the point that it hurt my ears, and I waited nearly an hour before receiving my food. What made the experience worse was the seating arrangement. Despite the restaurant being largely empty from the time I entered until I left, I was placed at the very last table with no view. I asked multiple times to be moved, yet was repeatedly denied. It left me questioning whether this treatment was due to my ethnicity. For the price paid, the quality of both the food and service fell far below expectation.

The Spa at Chateau Elan was the highlight of my weekend. Derrick was PHEMONEMAL!! And every detail thought out in the women’s locker room from the dry sauna and the steam room to all the toiletries and luxuries you might need after a day at the spa. I WILL BE BACK and will bring my swimsuit for the indoor pool! Love love love!! Brunch at Fleur de Lis was also exceptional! Husband had the steak sandwich and I had the butternut squash soup and brussel sprout Caesar! 10/10!!!

Visted Chateau Elan in Georgia in Sept. 2024 and lodged in their SPA side which was absolutely amazing! The greetings you receive make you feel really special! Joe, the manager was there at check in and check out and he was absolutely accommodating from beginning to end! Gave us complimentary wine upon arrival and even watched our bags until we took a restroom break after the travel. Thanks Joe! So many amenities when you stay in a SPA ROOM like a huge spacious luxury room that has amazing views of the lake and garden which has hammocks, reclining outdoor covered loungers and tranquil music! Access to the Hot tub, Amazing Women's locker room ( OMG), a magazine cover sitting, sipping room and SO MUCH MORE! I felt like I won some of the BIG MEGA!😆 I want to also note that there is a shuttle service that takes you all over their grounds. Mark picked us up many of the times! He was cheerful and very informative! Thanks Joe, Mark and SPA Staff for making our stay memorable!

This would be a 5 star review had it not been for the discourteous and nssty attitude of Amaya, a lower level employee who apparently hates her job. I asked her to unlock my locker. It was my first time there, as my daugjter in law treated me to a day of pampering. I asked Miss Attitude to unlock the locker and honestly I forgot which one and she opened 2 until she got to the right one. It should have been a light hearted moment but she acted as though it hurt her hands to assist me. All she was doing was folding towels.I thanked her and she pretended not to hear me until I looked her in her face and thanked her again for her "help", at which point she nodded her head.. Nasty as heck. Pretty is as pretty does. Othewise a wonderful day. Lee was magic with the massage! 10 stars for him!!

From entrance to exit, this spa delivered an incredible experience. The moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the two lovely ladies at the front desk who made check-in seamless and pleasant. Shortly after, a gentleman greeted us at the bottom of the stairs and gave us a thorough tour—his service and hospitality truly set the tone for the day. The atmosphere was peaceful and luxurious, and the outdoor amenities were perfect. We enjoyed the hot tub, pool, and beautifully maintained grounds—it all felt like a mini escape. The entire staff was amazing, but a special shoutout to Yami, the nail specialist. She made my husband and me feel completely relaxed and taken care of. Her gentle approach and professionalism stood out. We also enjoyed service by Janice S. If you're looking for a relaxing, high-quality spa experience with outstanding service, this is the place. We’ll definitely be back!

Chateau Elan SPA is amazing! Their BEST (consistent) massage therapists are Shawana and Dawn!!!!! My mother & I will only book services if we can get on their schedule. Their massages are an experience!! I also enjoy visits there for breakfast, massages & facials. It's a sweet local getaway less than one hour away for a few hours of me time, DAY away or overnight to take a BREAK from Life's stress and merry-go-round. :-)

Absolutely wonderful experience! This spa was such a treat, I felt pampered and taken care of and most importantly, very relaxed. The facilities are beautiful and serene, so much you kinda forget you are in Georgia. I got an 80 minute massage and it was the most peaceful time. I also loved the locker/lounge area and enjoyed the steam room the most! Overall top tier experience, can’t wait to be back.

I visited this spa a couple of weeks ago and had a mix of good and not-so-good experiences. There’s a lot of potential here, and while I did enjoy parts of my visit, there are definitely some things that need improvement. The facility itself feels outdated and could really benefit from some renovations. It was also extremely hot inside not just in the sauna areas, but throughout the building which made it a bit uncomfortable at times. Some better ventilation or temperature control would go a long way. That said, I loved how robe-friendly the entire space was even in the upstairs restaurant. That little detail made the experience feel much more relaxed and spa-like. What truly stood out during my visit was the kindness and attentiveness of a few staff members downstairs. Yami was a total gem friendly, patient, and always happy to help. She assisted me with my locker more than once and never made me feel like a bother. Veronica was just as amazing. She not only helped me get a glass of wine but went far beyond expectations when I realized I had left a necklace in my robe. Even though the laundry had already been taken back, she went out of her way to search through it to find my necklace. That level of care is rare, and I’m genuinely grateful to both of them they truly made me feel cared for. On the other hand, I had a disappointing interaction with a staff member named Amara upstairs, who wasn’t very welcoming and seemed to brush me off. It felt dismissive and was in stark contrast to the warmth I experienced downstairs. I also had a negative interaction with Jonathan at the downstairs desk. The way he spoke to me came across as condescending like I was a lost child and that really took away from the overall vibe I was hoping for. The steam room was definitely a highlight, and while the pool was on the smaller side, I really liked that it had jets so I could swim in place a thoughtful touch that helped make up for the size. Overall, I appreciated the robe-friendly environment, the steam room, and most of all, the incredible help from Yami and Veronica. They were the true highlight of my visit. With some updates to the space and more consistent customer service across all staff, this place could be something special. For now, it was a decent visit not perfect, but not without its bright spots either.

I arrived 10–15 minutes early for my scheduled spa treatments and was warmly welcomed by one of the front desk associates, whose name I regrettably did not catch. I promptly provided my partner’s full name, under which the reservation was made, as well as my own. Unfortunately, the second receptionist repeatedly asked for my name—despite clearly viewing the appointment details on her screen. She then handed me a waiver form. When I mentioned that my partner and I had already completed it online, she curtly stated that the digital version was outdated. I complied and filled it out again, though the interaction felt unnecessarily terse. Her demeanor was more interrogative than welcoming—an unsettling contrast to the level of service one would expect, especially considering our visit totaled over $1,000. After some back and forth, she finally acknowledged my name on the screen and remarked, “Oh, you're Tess,” in a tone that felt oddly dismissive. She proceeded to request my ID and credit card. When I explained that everything had been booked under my partner’s name, she informed me I would need to wait for him—though doing so would have caused me to miss the start of my treatment. Notably, the moment she overheard his voice during a quick phone call, her tone shifted completely. She immediately told me I could proceed downstairs and said she would notify his massage therapist that he would be running alittle behind. The contrast in how I was treated before and after that call left me wondering why his voice seemed to carry more credibility than my presence at the front desk. Thankfully, the experience improved significantly from there. Elle greeted me downstairs with warmth and professionalism, and every staff member I encountered afterward was equally courteous and attentive. I had nearly forgotten the awkward check-in until we returned to the desk to check out. A different receptionist—gracious and welcoming—asked if we were celebrating anything special. When my partner mentioned it was my birthday, she kindly presented me with a small gift bag. While the spa facilities are somewhat dated, the service providers delivered a lovely experience. That said, I’m unlikely to return. The front desk team would benefit from additional training in guest relations and professional etiquette to ensure every visitor feels equally acknowledged and respected. First impressions matter—especially at a property that serves people from all over the world.

Ameris Bank Amphitheatre

Amphitheater
Sights & Landmarks
Ameris Bank Amphitheatre, formerly known as Verizon Amphitheatre, is a premier outdoor venue located just north of Atlanta in Alpharetta. The state-of-the-art amphitheater sits on 45 acres of beautifully landscaped, wooded land and can accommodate up to 12,000 people with pavilion and lawn seating options. From April to October, the venue hosts a variety of big-name acts and events, making it a perfect destination for music lovers.
Attended the Outlaw Music Festival recently and really enjoyed the event. It is a good idea to call the amphitheater for directions to your specific lot. Their directions were much clearer and easier to get to your specific lot than what pops up when you simply input the street address in GoogleMaps. I highly recommend the premier parking lot. Security check at the gate was quick and friendly. I also recommend checking out the merchandise online beforehand. It saves a lot of your time if you have already decided what you want to purchase. Business was brisk, and the vendors were super nice. We sat under cover and enjoyed the comfortable seats. The show was great. So lucky to have seen legends sing. Exiting the parking lot was orderly and quick.

I super love this venue !! We have seen multiple shows here, HALSEY, GOD IS A WEAPON, and their first concert ever back in 2009 to name a few and it’s gotten even better over the years! Great acoustics for an outdoor venue, great drinks, and friendly staff!! Except for ONE staff member that stood out for all the wrong reason. The staff member stationed at section 101, older lady, who took her job way too damn seriously. Who thought she was the gateway to protecting innocence. The last defense from protecting the artist and the precious venue. Whose job she thought was to be rude to anyone who talked to her 🫡🫡🫡🫡 My wife l, me, my friend, anyone she saw. You take away from the experience BY YOURSELF. That’s not an easy feat.

Second time @ this venue. Staff is friendly and helpful. Facilities are clean. Try to pay close attention to the bag policy specifics, but if you don't, it's ok, there is a coat check type station at each entrance. If you're a drinker, I'd go heavy on the pregame, drinks start at almost $20. Definitely will return

Great place for a concert! We have seen several shows here and they all rocked. We just saw Collective Soul here and it was great. The acoustics here are awesome even though its outdoors. Our seats were just okay considering we had a tree view. I also dont like the fact that the place is cashless. Still though this is a cool venue

First visit to Ameris and was very pleased. Very organized. Easy to navigate. Merch, bathrooms, food and drink were all visible and close to the seating area. The box office staff were friendly and helpful.

Venue was awesome! Lawn seating with chair rental for $1. Box seats. Private seating. Regular seats are under the pavilion. Big fans keep air moving. Seats upgrades were available moving us from 104 to the orchestra, dead center stage! Sound was amazing. 2 large screens. Food lines were short and moved quick. $11 refillable sodas. $2 hotdogs. Bring in your own cups with ice and they have filtered water stations. Restrooms were easily accessible and clean!! Staff was knowledgeable and friendly.

We attended the Rod Stewart concert here, our first time visiting this venue. We were very impressed. We elected to sit in the grassy area and it was perfect. A light breeze kept the summer heat from being unbearable. The line to get in was long, but it moved quickly. There were lots of vendors to buy food, drink, souvenirs, etc. Vendors came around offering drinks during the concert. Several people came up to the Will Call window looking for tickets and upgrades. The event was sold out, so I recommend getting your tickets in advance. I hope we get a chance to come back here again soon.

The best venue for a large rock concert in the greater ATL area. The show was amazing! Security was absolutely wonderful. They gave us water when we needed it. They were excellent with pulling crowd surfers over the barricade without injuries. The security was also very fair with distributing items the band threw that missed the crowd. That speaks volumes that they care about keeping the patrons happy and wanting to come back. Thanks for a great show!

Wills Park Recreation Center in Alpharetta, Georgia is a vibrant hub for fitness, sports, and leisure activities. The center offers state-of-the-art facilities such as indoor swimming pools, fitness centers, and gymnasiums with programs for all ages and abilities. Families can enjoy playgrounds, picnic areas, and various attractions within the park's expansive 120 acres.
First time visiting and it was an absolute blast. This park has a little bit of everything. Swimming pools, basketball, and tennis courts, multiple different playgrounds, benches along the running track, although a little disappointed at the lack of signs for the run routes. They also have an equestrian area. A definite recommend if you are searching for a new park to visit.

Went to watch my grandson play baseball on a very hot day. Parking lot was not like a furnace. Took note that it was a large park with Swimming Pool, Tennis Courts, and maybe more that I didn't see. The ball fields were natural and extremely well kept(FAR above average). A nice park to experience

Went here for the first time for the 4th of July. Parked on the street due to closed roads. Took a 5 min walk with lawn chairs and had the best seat in the house. Worth the walk and boy was it crowded.

Even though the Wacky World wooden playground is dated it still was fun and kept clean. Getting to watch the horses was really cool

Wills Park has something for everyone! It is the most inclusive park I have ever visited! It has so many park options that if you can't find one to enjoy maybe it's you not them because they really put forth the effort!! I love Wills Park!!
Rick J — Google review
The park was neat and tidy. There weren't many people, and there were swimming pools and equestrian riding courses. One lap is about 1.7 miles away. There is a lot of consideration for walking with pets and children. There are many parking lots, so you can use them conveniently. It is minor negative that the stream is small and there is no pond. If you live in Alpharetta, you must visit there once.

We have been to the cast park quite a few times and our first experience at the pool. So much fun

It offers an array of experiences that cater to visitors seeking unforgettable moments together, from serene beach vibes to winter escapades and mesmerizing light displays. Sick of your HOA pool? A getaway that reminds you of that great cottage area on a lake mixed with Carrinean vibes, high end boats, music, floating obstacle course, wave pool and many generations of waterslides. Go here for family fun in the summer and unique snow tubing in the winter.

We didn't stay overnight, we just visited the water park. Park was clean and well maintained. Staff (early twenties age group) were nice, helpful and seemed to enjoy their jobs. Buy your ticket at the gate if you are eligible for a military discount, price will still be right at $100 for two people, but worth the savings.

we stayed in the campground and it was wonderful. it was during the off season so the water park wasn't open. Our site was very nice and clean. The wifi worked wonderful. We would recommend this place for camping to anyone. We drove up to Helen for Octoberfest.

Amilya was amazing. Always made sure we were taken care of all week. Great bartender. Awesome service with the Margaritaville golf cart stopping at our campsite. And great server. Definitely made our experience worth while

We recently visited Margaritaville lol, and it was a fun and relaxing experience from start to finish! The combination of lakeside views, beach vibes, and family-friendly activities made it a memorable outing. The water park was a highlight—clean, well-maintained, and full of attractions for all ages. The slides were thrilling, the wave pool was a blast, and the lazy river was the perfect place to unwind. We also appreciated the variety of food and drink options throughout the park. The frozen margaritas lived up to the name, and the beachside grill offered solid options for both kids and adults. One of the best parts was the laid-back, island-style atmosphere. Music was playing, the staff was friendly, and everything felt very well organized. Renting a cabana by the lake made our day even more enjoyable and gave us a comfortable spot to cool off and relax. Parking and entry were smooth, though it's worth arriving early on weekends to avoid crowds. The prices were reasonable for a full-day experience, especially considering the range of amenities. Margaritaville is a great summer destination whether you’re visiting with family, a group of friends, or just looking for a mini getaway without leaving Georgia. We’ll definitely be back!

Fun slides. Not very long lines. Food was meh. I didn't have any cocktails, but there were bees buzzing around the bar anyway. Kids had a great time, so that's what counts. Parents might be a bit disappointed with the food and drink, though.

Just beware of the waterpark especially if your family has dietary restrictions. We called in advance to ensure we can bring in safe food for our family with allergies and they said no problem. At the gate our cooler with lunch was denied entry altogether. Very frustrating miscommunication. They’ll also make you pour out waters for children, and adults, despite it being 100 degrees.
Hannah C — Google review
Listen if you live close and I’m gonna come more than a few times during the summer by the season pass. If you just go with a daily pass, you’re gonna pay an arm and a leg. This place is a lot of fun once you get in but for my family of four for one day we spent $350-$400 for about six hours. Honestly, if they just made the prices reasonable, you’d probably have a lot more people coming.

Sawnee Mt. Preserve

Park
Nature & Parks
A 963-acre park known for Indian Seats rock formation, with hiking trails & a visitor center.
I may be biased because I live so close to this park but this is one of my absolute favorite spots to go on a hike! the view at the top is breathtaking and there are some cool nature facts posted along the trail along with the info center. Restrooms are usually clean and it is very dog friendly! Also a super cool spot at the top for a picnic lunch. definitely recommend taking a hike to the top if you never have before!

Have been hiking up the mountain for years. Always a fun hike. Sometimes we do the shorter trail from the Bettis Tribble Gap parking lot and sometimes we do the much longer hike from the Visitor Center. Trail is rocky and rough and you will roll your ankle multiple times even if you are careful. View from the top on a clear day is beautiful. Always a busy trail and you will meet multiple families, trail runners on the way.
Priya R — Google review
One hour from Atlanta you can get lost on a windy 5 Mile loop and enjoy views from the top of this mountain. Stop by the fairy trail kindly provided by the Girl Scouts. The trails are neither too steep or overwhelming. Kids are more than capable of the trek.
Chrisoula M — Google review
Beautifully shaded trail. My friends and family love this. Approx 4miles (up & down) from this point to Indian Seat, an amazing overlook vista point. Suggestion: Along the trail stay on the LEFT whenever it bifurcates so you will reach Indian Seat. Otherwise you may drift towards Bettis gap if that is not your intent (and keep wandering).
Sahanagrad S — Google review
Strongly recommend good shoes for this shaded trail with gradual incline to the top of the mountain. Pretty decent and easy for general public. Great views, all one sees is lush green tree table top from the top of the mountain with one or two minor buildings exposed. Attracts local daily walkers, joggers etc.
Info S — Google review
Wonderful place to spend some good time as well as body work. The walking path is so good and feel so much energy. The place is kept so clean and feeling refreshed once we reach the peak point

It was a decent hike overall. I went up to Indian Seats twice to help out a lost group. 5.1 miles total. Lots of rocks and tree roots. Wear boots. There is not much scenery except the fairy houses and the Indian Seats viewing deck. I got stung by a bee around the fairy houses. Lots of spider webs. There are many down trees, but the trail is apparent from them. The trail is well-marked, and maps are available in the parking lot. I followed along using the AllTrails app.

Shawnee mountain offers 0.75 one way ( 1.5 mile) hike with Bettis gap trail that could be good for kids and those who want to do easy homes. It also offer another hike that's 2 miles each. The trail take you to the top of mountain with beautiful view of blue Ridge range and trail of tears etc. The visitor center has great resources and information. The rest rooms are clean and there are water fountains next to rest rooms.
