Misquamicut State Beach, located in the village of Misquamicut in the Town of Westerly, offers a half-mile stretch of sandy beachfront and modern facilities including pavilions, concessions, outdoor showers, and shade gazebos. It is a popular destination for both locals and non-residents during the summer months. The beach area spans about half a mile and provides ample space for visitors to enjoy the sun and sand.
Tuesday in July at 10AM had lots of parking. By 2PM, parking was more difficult. Mororhomes under 30ft can park here if there is room or grass. The seagulls here will sneak up and steal food out of your hand. Clean, cool water with nice soft sand.

Went on a week day in May. Very pretty view. Free parking and not many people around. Fun place to have a picnic or fly a kite. Some fun shells and cool rocks to collect. Definitely not fit for swimming this time of year but if you are in the area for sure worth checking out. Beach was overall clean without litter.
Cora K — Google review
A nice beach. Good staff. Good quality. Can be VERY BUSY. so be prepared. The parking situation can be tough and a bit expensive, there is food there. Its pricey but good quality. Also some fun merchandise to buy.
Morgan B — Google review
This beach is a fantastic spot to enjoy time with family, friends, or even by yourself. The sand is clean, and there are lifeguards on duty for added safety. I noticed many Great Black-backed Gulls, so be careful with your food. Parking costs $20 (on Tuesday), and when I arrived around 2:30 PM, I was still able to find a spot. The water was beautiful and perfect for swimming.
Mayara P — Google review
Always a pleasure to come here for a day at the beach. You really can't beat the convenience that they have with the restrooms, showers, food, and beach shop all right there.
Brittany L — Google review
It's hard to believe that it is October. The beaches are empty because the kids are at school. There are still some businesses open. Nice, relaxing and still beautiful waves.
Debbie W — Google review
There are lots of litter, and it's quite irritating that it's only free after 6 instead of 5 now. It's one of those beaches that is pretty rocky, full of seaweed, and always busy. But, it's a beach...all in all, it's going to be beautiful regardles.
Zoe S — Google review
The beach was nice, although there was some seaweed, the water was crystal clear, and there was plenty of parking. If you're not a Rhode Island resident, you pay $30. There's restaurant service, restrooms, and showers.

Montauk Point Lighthouse Museum

Historical place museum
Sights & Landmarks
Nestled at the easternmost tip of Long Island, the Montauk Point Lighthouse Museum is a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Montauk, NY. This historic lighthouse, commissioned by George Washington in 1796, stands as a testament to maritime history and offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. Visitors can ascend 137 iron steps to reach the top and soak in panoramic vistas that stretch towards Block Island.
I had an amazing time visiting the Montauk Lighthouse. The historical significance of the site is truly impressive, and it’s great to see how well it’s been preserved. The staff were incredibly informative and attentive, answering any questions I had about the lighthouse and its history. Climbing to the top took about 10 minutes — a fun little workout with a rewarding view at the end! While I was a bit disappointed that you can’t go out onto the balcony (you can only poke your head out), it didn’t take away from the overall experience. All in all, a great visit. I’m definitely looking forward to returning for more adventures in the future!

MONTAUK *Montauk: A Scenic Stop on Long Island, New York* Montauk, located at the easternmost tip of Long Island, New York, is a charming small town with a historic lighthouse. We visited Montauk by train, arriving at a simple platform-style station. Taxis are readily available outside the station, and we opted to take one to the lighthouse point. The taxi driver was friendly and reliable, dropping us off at the lighthouse and agreeing to return at 2 pm to take us back to the station. The lighthouse point itself is picturesque but can be explored within 30 minutes. Unfortunately, there are no restaurants or refreshment options nearby, so we spent the remaining time wandering around. As promised, our taxi driver returned on time and took us back to the train station. On the way, we grabbed some snacks since there are no amenities near the station. Given the limited options, it's advisable for tourists to have their own transportation. However, if that's not possible, taking a taxi from the station is a good alternative. *Tips for Visitors* - Have your own transportation for flexibility. - If taking a taxi, confirm the pickup time and fare beforehand. - Bring snacks and refreshments, as options are limited in Montauk. Overall, Montauk's scenic beauty and historic lighthouse make it a worthwhile visit, but plan accordingly to make the most of your trip.
Jeevan A — Google review
It’s very cool but also very small. They also have the original document from George Washington chartering the lighthouse as president in 1790, which is neat. Definitely worth going up in the lighthouse once to see the views, and then hike down to the beach for some beautiful scenery.
Caleb — Google review
After living on long Isalnd for 16 years we finally decided to see the light house and it grounds. We were not disapointed a wonderul experiance. We really enjoyed the climb to the top of the light house and the museum exhibits. The views were breathtaking
Pierre N — Google review
Tips for Visitors: 1. Arrive Early: To avoid long wait times, try to arrive early in the day, especially on weekends. 2. Wear Comfortable Shoes: Since the climb involves steep and narrow steps, comfortable footwear is essential. 3. Check the Weather: Clear days offer the best views, so keep an eye on the weather forecast before your visit. 4. Bring Water: Stay hydrated, especially if you’re planning to hike the surrounding areas. 5. Time Your Visit: Consider visiting the museum first to learn about the lighthouse before climbing to the top. The Montauk Lighthouse is truly a gem along the New York coastline. The museum offers fascinating insights into the history of the lighthouse and its role in maritime navigation. The exhibits are well-curated, showcasing artifacts and stories that bring the area's rich maritime heritage to life. It's important to note that there is no line to enter the lighthouse museum itself. However, visitors should be prepared for a long queue, with possible wait times of up to an hour to reach the top. There is only one staircase for both ascending and descending, consisting of about 137 steep, narrow, and twisting steps, which limits the number of people allowed at a time. Despite this, the experience is definitely worth it. Climbing to the top provides breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding landscape. Overall, a visit to Montauk Lighthouse is a perfect blend of history, education, and natural beauty. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!
Heena — Google review
A must visit for anyone living, or visiting N.Y. I make it out there at least twice a year. I use to go more often when I lived on Long Island. It's so beautiful out there. I've also walked up to the top of the lighthouse, which wasn't easy, but worth it. Pack lunch, or stop at one of the restaurants on your way through. Its a nice day trip.
Georgette — Google review
I was a surreal experience. We went there on a weekend. You should be there by early afternoon to have better experience. There are picnic spots near the light house too. There was line of 40-50 minutes to see the top of the functioning lighthouse.
Akshit K — Google review
I've been wanting to come here for atleast two year and finally made the trip here. The parking fee its $8 and if you want to visit the museum and lighthouse is $15. The museum has plenty of cool history not just of the lighthouse but of the area in generalm here you'll find cool artifacts and items related to the area. The lighthouse its self its bigger than it looks in pictures. I recommend checking out the lighthouse 1st them the museum due to a line tends to build up.restrooms are located at the entrance begind the giftshop/ticket booth. This is because only a certain amount of people are allowed at the time. Also small children and babies not allowed so keep that in mind. Its 137 steps from top to bottom. Once you reach the top the views are amazing. There's a guide at the bottom and top who will answer any questions you may have. They will also provide the instructions on how to walk up down and down the steps. Once at the top they also give you the opportunity to see the light it self which is pretty cool. As you walk the grounds you take the the stunning views. They have benches to sit and relax and take in the gorgeous ocean views. Or you can relax on the grass or walk down by the water. They also have a section behind the museum & lighthouse about the marine life in the area. Overall it was a very unique awesome experience. Definitely addex to your bucket list.

Montauk Point State Park, situated on the easternmost tip of Long Island, offers a diverse range of activities for outdoor enthusiasts. The park's rocky shore is a popular spot for surf fishing, surfing, and leisurely walks with stunning views of the converging tides from the Atlantic Ocean and Block Island Sound. In addition to its iconic lighthouse, the park features nature trails that are perfect for hiking or cross-country skiing during winter.
One of the best places to visit. Beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean along with amazing view if the coast line. Light house and its surrounding area is very clean and well maintained. We were able to take a stroll on to the beach and we walked on the rocks to get a good view of the bluffs, ocean and Lighthouse

Some of the best fishing LI has to offer. incredible sunsets. better start your trip early because the traffic getting out there is terrible. you can stop at the Shinnecock Indian reservation for some things to make the trip more fun . Keep your eyes peeled you may see some seals.
Andrew P — Google review
Very pretty lighthouse at the end of the island. Unfortunately it closes quite early so I didn’t get a chance to go up to the top. Enjoyed the views though, and the beach. Parking lot can be a bit confusing, had to google what the vehicle use fees meant. Still confused, but looks like they are only charged during certain hours.

It's a nice place to visit. The photos of the lighthouse and the Atlantic Ocean are breathtaking. There are a lot of beaches and local restaurants nearby.
Nay K — Google review
Super clean, you can park here for $8 your the grounds of the lighthouse, without having to pay to go in the light house.

Definitely worth visiting once in a while, especially in the summer when the weather is nice. My boyfriend and I even became official there—how cute is that? You could totally do something like that too!

Gorgeous view of the Atlantic and wonderful history of the lighthouse. We even got to see seals play on a foggy day.

It’s a great spot. We didn’t visit the museum (seemed expensive) The beach (easily reached by a path ) below the lighthouse is good, big surf to watch and few people.

Seafood restaurant
Nestled along the picturesque Montauk waterfront, Gosman's Restaurant is a beloved seafood destination that has been delighting visitors since 1943. This charming eatery offers a variety of dining experiences, including a casual cafe, an inviting clam bar, and a stunning rooftop deck where you can soak in breathtaking views while savoring fresh local seafood.
We thought this was a wonderful lunchtime dining experience. Beautiful views from the deck watching the boats putter in and out of the harbor. We each had excellent entrees; I especially enjoyed the lobster roll. Fairly reasonable prices for quality island eats. Service a tad slow but it didn't detract from the overall experience. Warm sun, cool breeze, and a cold beer. Couldn't be better! We'll definitely be back when we're in the area.
Andrew R — Google review
Wish I could give a half star. Horrible customer service. The only good aspect of this restaurant is the atmosphere. 1. The fried calamari and muscles were great apps but size was VERY small for the price. 2. Meals (shrimp scampi, stuffed shrimp and salmon) were flavorless. Each entree lacked flavor—rice tasted like Minute rice, and veggies were bland. The fish lacked flavor which was extremely disappointing considering it’s a seafood restaurant. Asked for something to improve flavor but this did not help. When asking to speak to the manager, he simply told me “there was nothing he could do” since half of the meal was consumed (we were hungry so had no choice). Said if we come back, he would accommodate us—which I told him we would not be because traveled 2.5 hours. I asked if anything could be done, such as comp a dessert or something and he said again nothing he could do. For a party of 12, this was extremely disappointing and not handled well by management, named Chris. Do NOT recommend this establish at all, save your money and go elsewhere.
Jennifer T — Google review
Beautiful view and great atmosphere. A lot of space. Tasty and fresh lobster roll. Good place to have lunch or dinner after visiting lighthouse. Service is good but is not very hospitable
Antonio R — Google review
Such a nice cozy restaurant with great dishes and nice service! I loved their outdoor seating, they had good shaded area for seating. I chose the fish (can't remember which one it was) and it was really delicious. For someone who might not like lobster that much, this restaurant's menu is mainly consist of lobster dishes. Know that before going there. Overall it was such a nice experience dining in this restaurant.
Shima — Google review
Me and my wife showed up without a reservation. The restaurant was pretty empty and we requested a table by the water inside. We went to the bar and waited an hour before I approached the hostess and asked about our seating. She took me into the dining room and explained that there were no 2 seating tables available. At that time, I observed multiple four and five seating tables empty. I inquired why we couldn't sit at those tables and she said NO because we are a party of 2. We were so outraged of the lack of flexibility in seating people in a restaurant that was practically empty. I would not recommend Gosmans restaurant to anybody. There are plenty of small non-commercial restaurants around that have better service and better food.
Joseph E — Google review
I rate restaurants both on their customer service and food. Upon arrival I explained it was our anniversary and we were not in a hurry. I stated we wanted to have a very good view and would wait. I also stated we wanted to sit on the deck. The host said he understood. He also said we could order drinks at the bar. We went to the bar to get drinks. I explained my allergies. The bartender couldn’t have been less interested. The drinks available were very limited. She assured me what I ordered was fine. So when we were called to be seated, we were placed at a table for two and an obstructed view. This is because there was a table in front of us. Not five minutes later another couple was seated at a table right next to the water, which is what I asked for and stated I was willing to wait. My picture of the table for two is where two people were sitting. I took the photo after they left. As I was on about my 3/5 sip of my drink my tongue and throat started tingling. I explained to the waitress what happened. She took it away and brought the drink menu. However, I was charged for both drinks. The food was good. I really liked the tuna. My husband was not as impressed by his choice, the surf and turf. For the price of this restaurant, I except someone to listen to me when I speak to them, to check in on how I am doing before I have finished my meal, and not to charge for a replacement drink. People seem to love this restaurant. Maybe I just expect more in this price range.
Deborah S — Google review
This restaurant holds a monopoly stake in the dining scene of Montauk. Pretty much anyone who has ever visited the town has dined here, and for good reason. The views are spectacular. You are dining right on the water. The menu features an abundant selection of lobster. The waiting area is a wooden pier with lots of seating, with tables to drink at while you wait. So why the one star off? It’s because you’re truly paying for the experience. The wait is usually at least 20 min. The prices are expensive for the portion size - if you don’t order dessert, you won’t be full. The service, although friendly, is overwhelmed. Is it worth going? Yes, at least once. But if you’re a local, this probably wouldn’t be a place you come to regularly except for special occasions.
Sushi S — Google review
Fantastic place to eat on Labor Day! We were visiting Montauk from Queens and wanted to grab lunch. Parking is free and huge! The restaurant is right next to the dock and the harbor. We went about 40 mins after opening and it was decently packed. We were seated outdoors and it was a very pleasant day for eating. We ordered Gosman’s surf and turf, twin lobster tails, fish and chips and shrimp basket. He seafood was really fresh and the quality was great. The steak was cooked to my liking and it was tender. Lobsters were a bit on the chewy side. The shrimps and the fish were very fresh and we enjoyed it. Overall, the experience was pleasant and the waitress was friendly. Would love to come back when we venture back to Montauk!

Mystic Aquarium is a popular interactive aquarium featuring a variety of marine life, including beluga whales, African penguins, sea lions, and sharks. The aquarium offers unique exhibits such as Steller sea lions and beluga whales that are rarely seen in other parts of the country. Visitors can also explore the Olde Mistick Village in Stonington for dining, shopping, and entertainment options.
It was a fantastic experience. It's a bit pricey, but when you consider the amount of animals they take care of, you get it. It was $82 just for my child and I to get in, to give you a perspective. I loved the Beluga whales, the seal show was adorable and the indoor gallery area was a fun experience. The keepers located throughout were very informative and gladly answered any and all questions. I highly recommend this aquarium.
Naughty L — Google review
Mystic Aquarium is an excellent spot for children, especially between the ages of 4 and early teens. The exhibits are engaging, and the attractions they do have are very well done. The sea lion show is free, fun, and worth planning around—just make sure to check the schedule ahead of time. Since it’s outdoors, you’ll also want to be mindful of the weather. While I was a little disappointed with the overall size of the aquarium, what’s here is high quality. Be prepared though—most extras cost money, so definitely bring your wallet. With more funding and awareness, this place has the potential to grow into an even larger attraction. Overall, it’s still a great family experience and well worth a visit.
Thomas E — Google review
Fantastic experience at the Mystic Aquarium. It is a lot smaller than I expected and the majority of the exhibitions are outdoors so thankfully, we choose the perfect sunny day to visit. Our highlights were seeing the Beluga whales swimming about outside and seeing the sea turtle inside. We also loved that they had a Del's Lemonade stand by the gift shop. A lovely little treat on our way out. Definitely a fantastic experience with the family. Now for my standard comments. Parking is plentiful out front and free. Location is well kept and clean. Very comfortable walking outside assuming the weather is good. Indoor exhibits never got too crazy, at least during the time that we were there.
Christine L — Google review
Where do I begin, this Aquarium is the best I've been to. The staff are all so friendly, and care so much about each and every animal in the facility. They have staff stationed at the enclosures in case you have any questions on a particular animal or exhibit, and they are so knowlegable. The Beluga whales are so cool, and almost seem like they interact with anyone who's at the glass and seeing everything they do for them is a bonus! The Main gallery has so many different tanks with all kinds of aquatic life and detailed plaques on each one, with any information you might want to know about a specific species. They even have not one.. but two touch tanks! This Aquarium is the perfect spot for a family day trip, the staff at the touch tanks were so friendly making sure any kid that wanted to participate was allowed the opportunity to do so and the layout was so cool to walk through. The pricing is extremely fair for what you get to do and see. The photo you they take when you enter of you and your family is 100% worth the 35 dollars to have it as a memento. Parking is a breeze and highway access is easy as well. I would give this aquarium 6 stars if I could, and my family and myself cannot wait to go back!
Jason J — Google review
I had the opportunity to visit this famous aquarium last Friday, and the pictures do not do it justice….it was an incredible experience! I saw the Beluga whales, along with so many fish and other animals, including a turtle. I learned lots about the Amazon rainforest, too. I also highly recommend going to the sea lion show; it was awesome! The show is included with your admission, so make sure you check the times so you don’t miss out. I recommend heading over to the show early so you get good seats. Not to mention that all of the staff were so friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. You can tell how much they love their job, and they really go above and beyond to make sure everyone has a great experience! This aquarium is the best one I have been to by far and definitely a must do if you’re in the area! If only I could give it ten stars…..
Laura H — Google review
Sad to say we feel like it wasn't what we were expecting. The tour of the whole place took us under an hour. And it was fifty one dollars per person. We do understand it's a research facility. But I think they should update their exhibits. And maybe offer a few more attractions without the extra cost. I had my first virtual reality experience, it was pretty cool. But it was at a $9 extra fee per person. The beluga whales are cool, and so are the african penguins. And the sea lion seals, but I feel like those are the only three real attractions that they had.
Royden G — Google review
Relatively small but nice aquarium. Easy to navigate and many different types of aquatic life to view. Great place for kid’s with a lot of interactive areas. Being a Monday, it was super easy to get in, around and out of.
Ryan B — Google review
This aquarium is so nice, not too big to navigate and the staff is really super friendly. I only gave 4 stars because we went during the start of the NorEaster last weekend and it was not enjoyable for my kids, unfortunately. I must add that the food at their cafe was very good - was impressed with the quality, actually. Better weather def would have made for a better experience, but a nice place to go with the fam for sure!

Olde Mistick Village in Stonington is a charming outdoor venue designed as a reconstructed 1720s-style Colonial village. It offers a picturesque setting with shops, boutiques, eateries, and seasonal events. Visitors can enjoy unique shopping, delicious dining options, and even catch a film. The village features bungalow-type buildings with colorful facades and colonial-style business signs, along with attractions like a water wheel in a duck-filled pond and a gazebo.
I love this place and always enjoy visiting. They have a few new stores. The location is family-friendly, quiet, and clean. You can find many unique and special items in the stores. For me, it is magical. I always bring something home that I won't find in the city. Mystic Village is a local place that brings happiness to my family.

Really cute shopping area. I like to walking around the area. It has a little park combination with the art, unique style, and vintage shop. You could spend the day here. Also it’s close next to the Mystic Aquarium.

This little village has been around for so many years. And every time I come visit, I’m never disappointed. The little shops are great and there are so many things to see. They have a wide variety of restaurants and dessert spots as well. They have some boutiques as well and there are places for the children to see things they like too.

Old Mystic village is a lot of cute specialtie shops in a old type setting. It's a nice place to spend a day. But I'm myself wouldn't waste a vacation day on it.The better shops are at the bottom and there quite a few empty shops. The prices sadly are double what you would pay on Amazon on eBay..

This open aired shopping plaza is a gem. Even though it looks like it's from the 18th century, it's actually more modern than that (built in the 1970s). It's on 19 acres; there is a duck pond, gazebo, shops, cinema, and restaurants. The walking paths are easy to navigate and pet friendly. Here are some shops that cross my mind: - Alice's Haunted Little Book Shop -Pepper Palace - Becca Rose -Cloak and Wand Restaurants: -Mango's Wood Fired Pizza -Jealous Monk We liked it so much, we went 3 times during our weekend staycation. Once was in the evening right after they closed, just to get our steps in. I love that they extended their hours during the summer. They also host events, have free parking, and restrooms throughout. We enjoyed walking through and shopping there. It's worth a visit!

Lots of shops set in an outside mini village type atmosphere. Many restaurants for food choices, and a nice little pond in the center with water fowl. In the warmer months, there's live music in the gazebo too. Ample parking, with restrooms in a few areas.

Fun stop in Mystic! We went during the Apple Festival, which was even better! Filled with all sorts of Vendors! But lots of shops and eateries! Definitely a place to check out!

This place has a lot of nice shops but the area is very expensive. Some shops were reasonable, others weren't. I am not paying thirty-five dollars for a t-shirt, sorry. Even teenty-five dollars is a lot, but reasonable. There are a lot of ducks at the duck pond and I always remember to see them.

Premier Theater

Performing arts theater
Fun & Games
Sizable performance hall at Foxwoods, presenting popular rock, pop & rap shows & other events.
This is a really nice theater. Excellent sound and big screens on the walls to project the live show. The chairs are really comfy with a good amount of leg room. Hanging around a casino while you wait to enter is fun because you can watch people playing slots or cards games. And it provides places to eat or spend some time before or after the show. The staff is phenomenal. The ushers help you find your seat and keep the line moving. The merchandise staff handles the crowd professionally and expertly. Security does their job without being aggressive. It’s a hotel casino, so there is plenty of parking and parking options. Be sure to park on the correct side or else you’ll have a very long walk to the theater. Of course, you have the option to stay at the hotel and not have to worry about traffic beforehand or driving home late at night. The Premier Theater is a great venue to catch a live show. The option to make a full day or weekend out of it makes this venue even better.

We came here to see Gabriel Iglesias this past weekend. The theatre itself is huge, seats were comfortable, the views of the stage seem to be good from every angle. The food at the concession stands were reasonably priced.

I've been here a few times for concerts. It is a great place for entertainment. Comfortable seating with cup holders attached to the seats. Free parking is definitely a plus. I plan to see a lot more concerts and shows here in the future!

Fantastic place to see a show. This theater is absolutely enormous. If you can get seats closer to the stage you'll feel like you're in a small hall. The monumental size of this place isn't even noticable when the show starts. I'd willingly go back to this place for any event in the future.

Mystic Seaport Museum

Museum
Art museum
Mystic Seaport Museum is a reimagined waterfront settlement that offers a glimpse into America's maritime past. With over 60 historic structures and a recreated 19th-century village, visitors can step back in time and experience life in a shipping town from over a century ago. The museum features over a dozen ships from the 19th and 20th centuries, some of which can be boarded and explored.
We (2 adults) visited on a very hot day at the beginning of the summer. I absolutely loved the feel of walking around a replica of a 19th-century fishing village. There were so many storefronts to check out and the ships were beautiful, too. This is a gem of a place and we are fortunate to have it continuing to operate after nearly a century. There was an incredible exhibit in the gallery while we were there. I truly appreciated becoming more informed about the experience of African-Americans from a 21st-century perspective. It was hot enough that day that we unfortunately didn't get to explore as much as I wanted. This is definitely a place I would love to return to, perhaps on a fall weekend.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A must-stop while visiting Mystic! I was completely surprised by how good this experience was. The museum is very kid-friendly and perfect for families. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes — it’s definitely a minimum 3-hour tour with so much to see and do. I highly recommend staying with the guides, as they make the history come alive and really enhance the experience. An unforgettable stop that I’ll be telling others about!

From the moment we walked inside to purchase our tickets to the time we left, Mystic Seaport Museum didn’t disappoint. The staff were very friendly! We toured most of what was offered. I think our favorite was the shipyard. It was incredibly interesting watching active restoration projects. The amount to view and experience was so much more than we realized. This was a wonderful stop for us on our New England road trip.

With something for everyone, Mystic Seaport Museum is a must-do vacation stop. One can see skill craftspersons in the process of restoring historic sea craft or recreating life in a seaside town in the early 1800s. Great for the whole family. Kids will especially love going on board the last wooden whaling ship the children's museum. Not into ships, history, or old architecture? Then visit in the spring and summer and see some of the most beautiful floral arrangements Ive seen in a long time.
Debra F — Google review
What a great experience for the whole family! Lots to learn! You can see ships being refurbished. And you can go onto Schooners! The historic buildings are amazing! Teaches you all about Ship Life! Places to eat and also a great gift shop!

We had an incredible day with family at Mystic Seaport Museum and honestly did almost everything there was to do. The whole place is such a vibe, full of history, craftsmanship, and surprises around every corner. One of the highlights was catching the fireboat with its hoses on full blast—something we learned doesn’t happen very often. We watched the blacksmith at work, explored the cooperage, wandered through the historic ships, and soaked in the magic of this living museum by the water. We spent way more time there than planned and still didn’t see it all. Mystic Seaport is truly one of those places that keeps you discovering more at every turn.

Really nice museum with outdoor and indoor exhibits. We paid $44/adult and $22/youth. We had an amazing time. The museum was nice, not too crowded and with nice live explanations when needed. Learning was also pleasant. Easy with kids. The outdoor area was pet friendly except inside the boats.

This was such a fun experience! perfect for all ages and an ideal way to spend a cozy fall evening. The ambiance felt straight out of a PG-13 Halloween movie from the '90s, full of nostalgia and charm. It had that warm, festive energy of a small-town holiday market, bringing a real sense of community. Will visit again!

Fun & Games
Mohegan Sun is a vast resort featuring two casinos, an 18-hole golf course, and two spas. It's home to some amazing restaurants like MJ23 Sports Bar and Grill offering delicious steaks, burgers, and BBQ chicken spring rolls. The resort has deep-rooted Native American history and is located on a reservation. The Sky Tower offers comfortable beds with great views of the water and easy access to top-notch restaurants.
Stayed in a sky tower room which is nice. Plenty of room. The casino is awesome. Had fun playing slots and tried a few restaurants for breakfast and dinner. Staff are friendly and helpful. I like that you can check in online and get your own key card for room at a kiosk. Saves so much time and room was ready by 12:00 because they texted me. Just a very nice, upscale casino and surroundings.
Janeil C — Google review
Celebrating our anniversary, we made the trek to Mohegan Sun for a night in the sky tower -being the newest of the two. The not optional valet parking was a very nice perk to the check in protocol. I mentioned that we were returning guests and celebrating and if they had a loyalty upgrade available, it would be very much appreciated. I was told the best they could do was put us on the 23rd. floor with a nice view. We took the rocket ship ride up in the elevator and entered our room. It was clean, but dated. Almost like the real quick ride on the elevator brought us back in time. The television was either a 37” or 40” set and mounted with a tilt -that proved the level was either uncalibrated or missing in action. The “nice view” was looking at HVAC units on the roof of the very large casino floor. If you looked to the left with your face against the window, the Mystic River was in fact visible. The wall to wall carpet turned to tile in the large bathing area, but you are met with a 1980’s tub and cloth shower curtain. With a $300 per night stay (more than a night at the Swan Reserve in FL), a renovation is long overdue.
Dan A — Google review
First time stay at Mohegan Sun. We booked our room at their website and checked in at 1pm but the room wasn’t ready until 4pm. The space is huge with two casino floors located on either side of the resort. The architectural decor and interior is beautiful. High ceilings with lots of decorative pieces throughout the floor. Staff seems friendly and vibes are great. Our room located on the ninth floor was pretty good, we had a view of the river. The Sky Tower hallways are really clean and spacious and luxurious. The room was pretty good too with nice amenities such as a coffee machine and a refrigerator. Beds were comfortable and relaxing. There are many restaurants to eat here but I do wish they would offer more Asian cuisine. I also wish they had a buffet to cater many food to enjoy at one sitting. Overall, big space with large casino floors and free parking! We would be back again.
David C — Google review
I can't rate the rooms because we didn't stay, but the place is absolutely beautiful with lots to do. Plenty of restaurants from pubs, lounges, and speakeasy's, to upscale Asian, Italian and Steak.. The shops were fun and also reached from casual to upscale. The gambling was good, with surprisingly plenty of quarter machines, which are my favorite and getting harder and harder to find. They have a couple of amazing chocolate shops with one small little bar that serves handmade chocolates with paired with specialty drinks. Plus an amazing bakery. A great day capped off with a fabulous dinner at Farm Italy. Definitely going back
Loretta L — Google review
I’ll start by saying that the resort and the casino itself are top notch. Many great restaurants and appealing atmosphere. However, they treat their casino customers horribly. I had made a reservation 5-6 weeks prior for this trip and specifically choose this weekend because they were offering me a “Sky Cove Suite” as can be seen in the photos included with this review. On arrival day I get a text to check in early, when I go to check in online, the room type was changed to “deluxe king” which is a standard room. When I called to get an explanation I was told that my Host was supposed to call me days ago to inform me. I got in touch with my “host”, Jackie, who offered absolutely no help with the situation including telling me they had so many events this weekend they ran out of suites, despite the fact I had a booked, confirmed reservation, they took it upon themselves to “bump” me out of my suite and cram my family of 4 into a standard king room. No offers of anything other than “I’m sorry, there’s nothing I can do”. I am absolutely appalled by the lack of care or customer service, I’ve never been treated so disrespectfully by a casino ever. In a time where casinos are struggling to maintain business, spitting in the face of loyal customers certainly doesn’t seem like the way to go. This will be my last trip here, I did enjoy the place “while it lasted” but I will not give my hard earned money to a place that does not respect me. ***Update- as of today, 11/1/25, not a single person from Mohegan Sun has contacted me to offer any sort of apology or to at least attempt to make the situation right. Their review “responses” are as phony as empty as their customer service.

Elijah was wonderful during the check-in process, he was professional and courteous. He fulfilled our every request and made sure our stay was comfortable and according to our expectations. Sky tower is by far the best place to stay even for a quick weekend getaway. Nice clean rooms and beautiful view of the lake. Always a great experience at this hotel. Plenty of dinning venues and lots of fun activities for the kids.

East Hampton Main Beach is a popular ocean beach with lifeguards, a snack bar, and bathrooms. It's known for its long stretches of white sands and calm waters, making it an excellent spot for families to enjoy activities like building sandcastles and having picnics. The beach also offers opportunities for sun worshippers to relax while taking in the beautiful scenery. Additionally, Main Beach provides various activities such as swimming, sunbathing, beach volleyball, and surf lessons.
This place is pure happiness. Make sure to pay for parking as they do ticket the vehicles. This beach does tend to get busy on the weekends. You can have a fire at night here as long as it’s in a metal fireplace. Great sand as well!

This beach is so clean and peaceful. It is in a quiet area and feels like an oasis away from the madness in NYC Side note, if you’re someone who likes a classic beach day be prepared to see the locals stare if you are in anything but a linen button down and khakis. I have never seen a beach where people don’t wear swimsuits but here we are! All in all a beautiful spot and would definitely visit again.

Very nice Beach. You need to pay for parking by scanning a QR code in your phone. There are a few bikes that you can rent also by using an app to unlock them. There are several benches and bins between the parking lot and the beach itself. When I was there, there was a sign saying there’s no lifeguard.

Main Beach in East Hampton is a beautiful stretch of coastline that perfectly captures the charm of Long Island’s East End. Known for its clean, soft sand and gentle waves, it’s an ideal spot for a relaxing day by the ocean. The beach is well-maintained and has lifeguards on duty, making it a safe and family-friendly destination. What sets Main Beach apart is its peaceful, upscale atmosphere—there are no overwhelming crowds or noisy distractions, just the sound of the surf and sweeping views of the Atlantic. Sunrises and sunsets here are especially stunning, with the sky painted in vivid colors over the water. While parking can be challenging without a local permit, the experience is well worth it. Main Beach combines natural beauty with a sense of tranquility, making it one of the most enjoyable and iconic beaches in the Hamptons.

The parking is a nightmare. We stopped to grab a quick bite to eat and check out the scene. We went to park in the lot and it uses park mobile. I thought the app was broken because it was telling me I had to park for 11 hours. I was only going to be there for around 30 minutes. No where did it say flat rate parking or anything of that nature. I thought to myself no way they actually expect you to pay $50 for a quick stop this would be the most expensiveparking I have ever seen in my 36 years on earth. Anyway I got back to my car after a quick bite and surely I got a ticket. One would think a parking ticket of that nature might be $75-$100 as gross actions like parking in handicap spaces warrant $250 dollar tickets. Nope it was a $250 dollar ticket. I nicely asked the officer who was giving out the tickets how can you expect someone parking 15 minutes to pay the same as someone parking 11 hours. He couldn't even answer the question but explained it was flat rate parking. Honestly this should be illegal. Its not even like they lost any money because as soon as I left my spot someone else parked in it. Its just straight up greed and not right. This review is just to warn people trying to go here as I have no choice but to pay this outrageous ticket where the punishment doesnt fit the crime.
Mike M — Google review
Great public beach, clean restrooms and some food options. We had plenty of room to relax and it was a great atmosphere. If you want food, make sure you have CASH. We got there later in the day so the parking lot was closed, but were able to park at the Lumber Lane lot in the village and take a free Circuit ride to the beach. Ended up taking a car back to our car since the Circuit line was a bit long at the end of the day.

We took our little ones to The Dinosaur Place today, and they had an absolute blast! It's seriously a fun spot for kids – their eyes just lit up seeing all the dinosaurs. And honestly, we grown-ups learned a thing or two as well! They've got a ton of play areas to keep the energy levels high, which is always a win. It was also really thoughtful that they had plenty of shade and picnic tables scattered around, making it easy to take a break and have a snack. Plus, the restrooms were surprisingly clean and nice, which is always a big plus when you're out with kids. Just a heads-up for anyone with a stroller: the paths are mostly gravel. It's manageable, but not the smoothest ride. We also caught the 'erupting' volcano, which happens every hour – a cute little touch that the kids really enjoyed. Overall, we really liked The Dinosaur Place. The kids are already asking to go back! It's definitely on the pricier side for an afternoon out, but it totally delivered on the fun factor and kept everyone entertained. If you're looking for something to do with dinosaur-loving kiddos, this place definitely gets the job done!

Really cool park. Big splash pad with lockers available (not sure if u had to pay extra for them). Big outdoor play area for kids of all ages. The play area had plenty of seating for parents and was very clean. The trails were very nice with really cool looking dinosaurs in the woods, not cheap looking ones. There was also a maze, a place to get lunch/snacks, and of course a gift shop. I think the general admission ticket is a little pricey, esp for parents...I wish parents would get a break with tickets to these places because you know we aren't going to them for our benefit! I think an adult was $35 and a kid 6 and over was $37. Train ride was extra, mini golf was extra... But a really nice place to spend the day every once and awhile.

The Dinosaur Place is an awesome spot for family fun! I took my daughters and we had a blast. We got plenty of exercise walking the trails while seeing tons of dinosaurs along the way. We went during the 4th of July and my girls had a blast. Yes, it's expensive but you should go at least once. I recommend going when the splash pad is open.

Since our first visit in 2005, it's become our favorite family tradition! Great for all ages, but especially kids under 13. Children can mine for gold in a realistic gold mine, search for rock gems of all sizes and colors, uncover dinosaur fossils in The Bone Zone, come up close to life-size dinosaur fossils, explore an outside park where realistic dinosaurs are sitting next to a splash park and jungle gym. There's an amazing gift shop with beautiful gifts for all ages. The ice cream shop has some of the yummiest flavors available. It's an affordable and educational day out for the whole family. Nature's Art and The Dinosaur Place are absolute MUST visits!
Michelle F — Google review
This place has such potential and that's what's frustrating. We drove down here on our day off with our 3 year old. We found out each of the 4 buildings charge separate fees (disappointing but no big deal). We went on the main building for gem hunting. Cost $40 for our son and his mother to go in together. Then we went to walk the dinosaur trail and this is where we became frustrated. It was $106 for 2 adults and a toddler. The bikes and volcano were closed, as well as the food place. We went to the giant playground and went to go in with our son, since he is 3. The teenager said we could not go in with him... At this point we realized there was nothing to do but walk and see the dinosaur statues. Also, no refunds. Subpar, disappointing, and underwhelming. If you have older kids 5-10, may be worth it to you but it was not worth it to us.

My ferry on a Monday at 9:15pm was canceled and they rebooked it for 8:00am on Tuesday. The did not make me pay the price change for the ferry I booked on Tuesday since it was peak and I had originally booked a rewards member spot that was cheaper. I arrived at 7:50am on Tuesday and the ferry was still boarding but they told me I was “late” and put me in standby and gave my spot away to other people who did not have a reservation. I had to wait another hour to get on the 9:00am ferry. When I got on the next ferry they upcharged me $37.97 because they said I was late for my ferry and they would no longer honor the price change from my original ferry that they canceled. In all the years I’ve taken the ferry, I’ve never had my spot taken away, even if I was there 5 or 10 minutes before my reservation, they still let me get on the ferry. When I talked to the customer service representatives, they were unsympathetic, talked over me on the phone and in the office, and kept telling me I was late and it was their policy and I should have read the disclaimer. They were not helpful and rude. When I asked if I could book a later ferry, they said “that’s called double booking and it’s against our policy.” They were short and snippy with me and didn’t make an effort to help. Even if I am in the wrong about not being there 15 minutes early, they could have said I’m really sorry I know that it must be distressing and had some sympathy. But they did not seem sympathetic and made me feel terrible.

Traveling up to Boston and decided to take scenic route. Last few times up had us close to five and a half hours. This route cuts an hour off the trip and passes all of the NYC traffic. For a car, driver, and two passengers we paid $122 and got across to New London in an hour and 15 minutes. Could get pricey but totally worth it. Very cool views top!

There are multiple signs listed at pets are not welcome. However, during the off-season there was nobody enforcing this just saying. Over a wonderful experience the park closes at 4 PM.

This beach is exactly what we were looking for. It’s one of the few beaches you can park at in the North Fork if you don’t have the village permit. You pay $10 to enter the park and then have a beautiful short drive along the water. The beach is quite rocky but beautiful and quiet - there were only 3 families there when we were there. There are easily accessible bathrooms, a couple swings and slides for the kids and lots of picnic tables in the shade of you wanted to bring lunch from the Orient General Store.

Another great park and beach near the very end of the North Fork of Long Island. And not too crowded. Took a walk through the nature trail and saw a few deer.

Beautiful sights! Had a chance to see fishing boats docking and unloading. Friendly hard working people. Absolutely stunning sights.

Park & beach is beautiful. The lifeguard Joseph was so very helpful when I inquired to rent an umbrella for shade for my 90-year-old aunt whose favorite place is Orient State Park. There are no umbrellas for rent. Lifeguard Joseph was so kind as to set up one of his umbrellas for my aunt so she may sit on the bench with shade. Thank you again for your act of kindness to us!! Also, Mary at the gift shop is a gem! Thank you to all #nysparksdepartment

This is a really nice state park, especially out East. In my honest opinion, Montauk is overrated meanwhile here at Orient Point is another great place to go when out East (as a Long Islander). You have a lot of picnic areas with shade, and tables with grills. Parking wasn't a problem. The beach is pretty long, lots of walking plus biking if you wanted to. In the area, there are a lot of good restaurants. Overall, really nice area plus beach especially for families.

The Florence Griswold Museum is a restored 1817 mansion that served as a boarding house for artists and currently showcases American Impressionist works along with rotating exhibits. At the heart of Old Lyme's artistic reputation, it boasts indoor galleries, an artist's studio, and lovely gardens with views of the nearby river. The museum is known for its enchanting and peaceful atmosphere which inspired American impressionists to create art that captures nature's beauty.
Had a great first visit to Flo Gris yesterday. Went specifically to see the mushroom exhibit which was delightful and the Fairy village was in full swing. Loved all the little details and discoveries in them. Had a delicious lunch overlooking the river on a gorgeous fall day.

Beautiful day spent looking at and learning about art, Olivia the Docent was super knowledgeable, really enjoyed my time here. Will definitely be back in spring and can explore the grounds. If you're looking for something to do in Old Lyme I highly recommend this museum!! * summer visit when the gardens are in bloom..simply beautiful! Also found a great spot along the river to relax and take it all in. They have lunch on the veranda in the warmer morning ths.. Will be back to try that!
Lori W — Google review
Our most recent visit to the FloGris was on a spectacular day in mid August when the gardens were putting on their own show. It was so nice looking at the plantings and just sitting in the shade along the river that we were on the premises for about 2 1/2 hours before we looked at any of the works of art in the boardinghouse and the galleries. Our time outdoors also included a very nice lunch on a covered porch offering views of the river. But even in inclement weather, the art on display here justifies a visit at any time o the year.

It is a great place and my recent visit was the fairy houses. It was a very peaceful calm feeling seeing all the intricate work that goes into them. It was very enjoyable;in fact I went twice because I enjoyed the houses so much. They do a scavenger hunt which my husband and I attempted for the first time. I highly recommend going.People of all ages come to enjoy this event. It was also nice to see they had snacks and drinks available for purchase as well if you want to.
Sassy M — Google review
This is an interesting destination for artists and non-artists alike. The history of the art colony is very well told and the house is super interesting! There are lots of trails beautiful gardens and an art exhibition area, so allow two hours I would say. This place tells the story of impressionism coming to America. I hope to visit again because I didn't have enough time to see everything.
Susan M — Google review
Very quiet pleasant Sunday afternoon visit, everything still in bloom and the wee fairy experience is so cool!
Mandy M — Google review
The grounds are beautiful and the event (Fairy Villages) we attended was very well organized. Great for families, rest rooms and affordable gift shop and admission. Discounts available to SNAP recipients really make it a destination for families: one card is good for 4 adults (autum 2025). I was worried however, while they have so many flowers some of the art had fake flowers, bees were spending time on these fake flowers. The fake flowers and art often had a lot of glitter as well. I hope the glitter won't harm the bees and maybe that the facility takes measures to mitigate the runoff of microplastic glitter into the grounds and eventually the beautiful water nearby :( Overall really great, it's possible I'm a worrywort.

Met up with some friends to try this vineyard and what a lovely visit it was! I’m not a big wine drinker but I was pleasantly surprised by everything I tried. Most of us tried a wine flight (reasonable price too) and enjoyed tasting the different varieties. Atmosphere was lovely and inviting, there was live music and a food truck (listed on their website events, very helpful). Nice to have the outdoor propane heaters too on a cool fall evening. Very much looking forward to going back!

3.8.25 Decided to update my review after another visit. The new owners are doing a great job here. The wine is great and now they also serve beer. When we visited they also had live music. Great time! 9.10.23 It was pouring today, so we decided to visit Priam again. We heard it's now under new management, but the wine making is still the same. We opted to grab a bottle of room temperature, Westchester, after a quick sip of another red. We were told drinking it cold would also bring out more, sweeter flavors. We'll try that next time. There was live music indoors, but there were many spots outdoors with overhangs to enjoy the lovely rainy day. Every time I've been here, I've enjoyed the nice customer service, the option to sit indoors or outdoors, the ample parking, the casual atmosphere. And there's good wine for all pallets.

My husband and I visited Priam Vineyards on a Thursday and had an amazing time! We tasted a variety of wines and ended up enjoying a glass each—Chardonnay for me and the Jeremy River for him. Both were outstanding! We also picked up several bottles to bring home because we just couldn’t leave without some. A special shoutout to Phil and Ryan, who made our visit so much fun—great conversation, great vibes, and excellent service. The atmosphere was beautiful and welcoming, and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend Priam Vineyards if you're looking for a relaxing and memorable wine experience!

9/20/2025. I went there for the first time today with my family. At nearly 60 years old, my eyes aren’t terrible, but they’re not what they used to be either. I didn’t see a sign that said to the effect, “No outside beverages of any kind allowed on the grounds of the establishment”. It’s a very small 8.5x11 piece of paper on the wall out in the patio area. Easy for an older person with not so great eyes to miss and seeing as I didn’t go into the building when we first arrived, I never knew it was there. I don’t drink alcohol very often and didn’t plan to today. I had a recently purchased bottle of iced tea in the car and I decided to go grab it so I’d have something to sip while there. As I walked back to our table, bottle of tea in hand, a woman who I assume by the way she carried herself is an owner or a family member approached me. She very rudely told me I can’t bring the tea to my table and said it has to go back to the car. I didn’t appreciate the tone at all, but I put it back in the car and went back to my table. If it wasn’t for the fact I was with several members of my family, I would’ve left right then. I told my wife what happened and my daughter told us she watched it happen. My wife went in and bought me a $4 bottle of water & I stayed with my family for a nice gathering. We left a while later and I said “Hello” and “Goodbye Forever” to Priam Vineyards in one trip. I get it. No outside beverages. It’s their policy and I understand. I would’ve complied either way. She could’ve informed me politely but she chose rude and impolite and I’m out. My wife said the wine was drinkable but not at $25/bottle, so no real loss. Long story, I know… I won’t go again.

Absolutely recommend Priam Vineyard's for a fun night out! They do a great job of hosting so many fun events at the winery, so you always have something unique to choose from. It's one of my favorite spots to host my Wood Floral Design Craft & Sip workshops and the owner and staff are always so accommodating not to mention the wine is delicious! This spot is a gem!

My husband and I were there just last night and I had to leave a review for this place. The staff were so friendly, the outside is gorgeous, and the inside is clean & inviting. Coopers Beach, located in Southampton Village, is a serene and well-maintained beach with lifeguards on duty. It offers amenities such as snack bars and rentals for chairs and umbrellas, although parking comes at a premium. The beach boasts long stretches of white sand and calm waters, making it an ideal spot for families to enjoy picnics and build sandcastles. Additionally, visitors can marvel at the historic mansions and celebrity homes dotting the coastline.
Cooper’s Beach is absolutely beautiful! One of the most peaceful and well-kept beaches I’ve been to in New York. The sand is soft, the water is super clean, and the whole vibe is just calm and relaxing. Perfect for a day to disconnect and reset your mind. There’s a food shack nearby with decent options, and bathrooms on-site which is always a plus. Parking can be pricey if you’re not a local, but honestly it’s worth it for the scenery and peace.

A very hazy day when we went, but it was obviously a beautiful beach, with a cafe, food shop. Clean toilets. Sand was great, and plenty of it. Parking is for residents only. We went on a quiet Friday, car park 15% full. We aren’t residents, but parked anyway. We were there 90 minutes without problems. The sand was beautiful. The fine is $250 if caught.

Great beach, very clean, family friendly and the water was clean and cold on a hot summer day. Highly recommend. I will be returning before the summer ends.

Real Review – Vibes Were Everything (but not for everyone) This might be the best beach in New York when it comes to vibes — totally different from our usual spot at Rockaway. It felt like a mini escape! Was a 2 hour drive from us. The beach is beautiful: super clean water with those clear green-blue tones (gave me Florida vibes), and the sand is soft and white. No trash anywhere, which was really nice to see. We went on Saturday, July 26, and the bathrooms were super clean though I will say the women’s line was long and slow. Waited 20 mins in line so we just changed by our car. Definitely think they should have more stalls for the women compared to the men. The showers were quick and convenient, which was a plus. Now for the vibe… it’s the Hamptons, so not gonna lie, I felt a little out of place. A lot of the people there seemed like they had money, and while most were nice, there were definitely some rude/snobby types too. I kept my music low just to not get side-eyed 😅. The only real downside was the $55 parking, which felt steep and it’s card only, no cash. Would’ve been nice to know that in advance. Everyone was pricey there, was glad I brought my own tent and food. Overall, it’s a hit-or-miss depending on the crowd that day, but we still had a good time and would probably go back before summer ends but maybe a big group to split the parking lol

Awesome beach with clean facilities and great vibes. White sandy shores along beautiful mansions on Dune Road. Recently ranked #1 beach in America! $40 a day for parking. Well worth it!
Phil P — Google review
Good for sunbathing & family time with unconnected humanity around. Beautiful, clean beach with near-white sand. We've come across genteel groups of people on all visits. Not crowded. Lifeguards are vigilant on lookout platform throughout active hours. Beach Cafe is the lone food-for-purchase option. It's a limited menu, hence carrying your beach-day fare is preferred option. Comfortable lounge chairs and umbrellas are available in abundance and the smart young lads insist on delivery & pickup of these foldable furniture at your beach spot. Uniformity of "Coopers' Blue" furniture setup adds to visual charm. Worth noting that the chairs are low and anyone with knee trouble should bring their own furniture arrangement. Rip current warning is always in force; not an adventure swimming-surfing destination. Not cool aspects: No change rooms provisioned in this self-styled #1 beach of the country. Doesn't rise up to Hamptons (or New York) standards. Parking for non-residents is advertised at $50 but $55 are charged on spot. Likewise, lounge chairs are advertised at $15 but $16 charged, Same for cash in either case. The beach is pet free but, on a recent weekend, one super patron had their golden retriever prancing around, unleashed (well behaved but definitely wasn't on guide duty). During this same visit, a couple were smoking blunts, unchecked; shifting the responsibility of 50' perimeter on other beach goers (and, Southampton beaches are smoke-free!).

Beach was great, 5 stars. The people who set up their camp in front of us zero stars. Too bad some people don’t have any awareness of space. We came in from Houston, so it kind of ruined our experience, aside from seagull pooped on me.

Gillette Castle State Park in East Haddam, Connecticut is a fascinating attraction that preserves the former estate of actor and playwright William Hooker Gillette. The stone mansion, resembling a medieval fortress, boasts unique features like built-in sofas and a moving table on tracks. Inspired by his love for the Connecticut River, Gillette began constructing the castle in 1914, completing it in 1919. Situated 200 feet above sea level, the castle offers breathtaking views of the river valley.
Very beautiful spot to sit and enjoy. Gives you a tropical castle feel in the summer with how the trees grow in, amazing view of the river with a short walk. Looks like there is hiking trails all over which is nice as well, building has restrooms even when it is closed (use front door) Motorcycle Friendly & Motorcycle Parking Available which is a huge bonus. Riders destination. Hiker or picnic day out anyone can enjoy!

A beautifully laid out & well maintained state park, the Gillette Castle - aka: "The Seven Sisters Estate" (named after it being on the most southern set of chain hills it sits on) has so much detail in the stone & wood work! At the visitor center, there are trail maps, bathrooms, vending machines & a museum type atmosphere re; the history of the park / Castle. There are also two restored 1/4 scale narrow-guage railroad engines (one electric & one steam) that William Gillette navigated 3 miles of track on his 122 acre property. Also here at the visitor center, there is a wrap around deck with outstanding views of the Connecticut river with lots of picnic tables. Its a very enjoyable day trip!

5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - fabulous park! The CASTLE TOURS are seasonal so check before you go if you want to go inside. The website has information. We were there when the tours were only on weekends. But you can still enjoy the exterior out the castle, and the views, trails, restroom, picnic tables. The area is gorgeous and beautiful walks. So glad we checked it out and we met some wonderful people while we were there. You can watch the ferry cross.

Very cool place to check out. You can take a tour of the inside now, a few years ago we were here and unable to go inside due to I believe it was renovation from what I remember. Glad to have been able to go inside, a lot of cool stuff inside, lot of interesting history, and just the architecture is amazing. There's also a trail you can hike if you like, unfortunately we didn't have time for that and the weather wasn't very dry for us to consider doing it during our short time in the area.

it's truly a hidden gem! Located within a beautiful state park, the castle offers scenic hiking trails and stunning views. The architecture and history of the castle make it a must-see destination. Tip: Be sure to purchase and print your tickets ahead of time for your preferred time slot. We didn’t have access to a printer and ended up waiting about an hour before we could enter. Thankfully, we used that time to explore the grounds and enjoy a relaxing hike through the park.
Gene L — Google review
Such a hidden gem. Wasn't busy as the castle itself is closed for the winter. But the grounds were so neat, pretty, well cared for. Great views of the river.
Cindy F — Google review
Tremendous tip from my chiropractor to visit this incredibly unique castle completed in 1919. The stony exterior defies description, you must see this for yourself. Loyal staffers give detailed stories to help understand the architectural and engineering wonders of William Gillette, the building’s visionary and owner, actor, and the author who brought Sherlock Holmes to life, a character he personified. He designed and had built 47 unique wooden doors with each lock differing. He had installed secret passageways, mirrors to observe his guests unseen, edifices for his large menagerie of cats, and fascinating use of flooring materials used on walls to soundproof the entire steel-reinforced structure. Innovative and way ahead of his time, features such as radiated heat (including a heated bed), and electricity using wooden switches! Check out the world class art gallery, prized artwork hand picked by Gillette to support the up and coming artists of his day. Enjoy the grounds as well, see where his private Underground Railroad was hosed, and catch a play in the outdoor theater. Warning: steps and stairs are not for the feint of heart. Also, no visible public restroom at the castle; you have to go to the visitor’s building which has a modest gift shop. Ample parking lot by visitor’s building. Bring your walking shoes and add a trail to your itinerary.
Verena A — Google review
Lovely drive to the park. Tickets are in 15-minute increments. We were a party of 3 and the next available time was 45 minutes away. Perfect amount of time to watch the movie about Mr Gillette and look through the artifacts. Concession stand is closed, pack snacks or a picnic lunch. Tour is well organized and they keep people moving but not hurried. I grew up in Connecticut but had never been to the house. It was a great day trip!

Croteaux Vineyards is a unique destination as it's the only vineyard in the US solely dedicated to producing Rose wine. The relaxed ambiance of its tasting barn offers a break from the trendy scene, allowing visitors to savor their selection of Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, and Cabernet Franc Roses. The fairytale garden and 200-year-old barn provide an idyllic setting for enjoying an all-rose menu.
What an amazingly unique and greatly different winery experience! My wife and I visited over 17 vineyards in the North Fork of LI over our April break, and this is one of our only 3 five star spots to visit in the area. This is the go-to outdoor wine experience on a great weather day. The arrangement of the outdoor seating is like nothing I’ve seen at a winery previously, in the best way. There are great covered/indoor options too that make give a elegant bohemian living room vibe. As a primarily red wine consumer, I thoroughly enjoyed the rosé only focus as a refreshing and highly relaxing alternative to the other options in the area. The food options were great, and the warm baguette with herb cheese spread was the perfect mid-afternoon wine pairing for our day. This was one of 2 vineyard we earmarked for a second visit on our stay, and both stops did not disappoint. We are so looking forward to our next visit!

We had a wonderful time celebrating our wedding anniversary at Croteaux Vineyards! The setting is beautiful and serene, perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine. We enjoyed the Sparkling Tasting and Still Tasting, and our selections of Merlot 181 and Jolie were exceptional. The food was fantastic—Provençal Basket and Lobster Roll Sliders were delicious and paired perfectly with the wines. Sitting outside with vineyard views made the experience even more special. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, making the visit truly memorable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a charming and high-quality vineyard experience!

This vineyard has a very relaxing, family-oriented atmosphere. The service was excellent, and the overall vibe was calm and rejuvenating you truly feel refreshed after visiting. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t the best; it was a bit overcooked, though it might have just been the timing. Regardless, I would definitely recommend this place for the ambiance and experience.

Ospreys Dominion Vineyards, located at a comparable latitude to well-known winemaking regions such as France and Napa Valley, is renowned for producing exceptional wines. The estate cultivates more than 20 varietals of wine without human intervention and only bottles reserves during perfect weather conditions. Visitors can enjoy the wines on the picnic grounds or outdoor patios while participating in various lawn games.
This is a must visit on the North Fork wine trail. Unfortunately it was raining when we were there but the outdoor lawn area looks amazing and there were still people sticking out the rain under an umbrella at a picnic table. The charcuterie and guacamole were nice food options. They also have Greenpoint Brewing beer which is great for a group with different tastes. It was family friendly too!!

Wow, this vineyard is an absolute vibe! The space is expansive, with plenty of room both indoors and outdoors to relax and enjoy. One of the highlights is the live music outdoors, which creates such a lively and enjoyable atmosphere. What sets this place apart is the ability to curate your own wine flight, and the generous pours are a fantastic bonus! While it can get busy and packed, the experience is totally worth it. Many East end vineyards don’t like a bus arriving after 3:00. But that limits the ability to vineyard hop. Osprey’s said “ hell yes come on in”! Music, good wine, happy staff and a laid back greeting was refreshing. No stuck up wine tasters here.

ABSOLUTELY the worst hospitality !!!! As soon as I arrived the workers were being very rude to me upon arrival. This all happened while I had a reservation and I told them I’m going to be late. They tried to charge me extra when I arrived after I already paid. I am appalled at how I was being treated when I wanted to come with my friends to have a good time. I will never use this establishment for a day out ever again. Just an outright horrible experience don’t recommend to anyone trying to book a day out with friends.

This was an excellent experience until the very end, hence the four stars instead of the five stars. I’ll start with the difficulty, and then move onto the goodness. Hopefully my suggestion for improvement will be heard for a five-star experience in the future! So what happened? We were having a lovely experience; we stopped in to get a few bottles of wine to take with us back to the house for a brunch we were hosting. So this was a quick tasting for us. And we told the server that, and she was excellent and brought everything out very quickly. Our problem happened when it was time to check out. It seemed to be quite chaotic. We didn’t have the correct wine, and then we asked if we could have it cold, because we’d be serving it right away, and it wasn’t clear who was waiting on whom in order of being able to Pay and get our order placed. The checkout area was just really quite confusing. Other people were waiting around and they weren’t sure where to go, and I don’t know exactly what happened, but it was fairly messy. I think they just needed more people at check-out directing people to the correct lines, because again, it was a bit confusing. Now onto the good experience. The wines are very good. The server said she was related to the family, and she proceeded to really do an excellent job in explaining the wines. I caught a bit of a video of her, and I’m sure that made her a little nervous, but she did great! So the family should be proud of her. She was courteous; she was on time, and she knew what she was talking about. She also favored us with some photos, even though we were in a big rush. The setting was beautiful, and they had plenty of dappled Shady areas with plenty of umbrellas. Overall, this would’ve been a five star experience, except, again, trying to check out was just really quite chaotic and confusing. We will be back! And hopefully they will have resolved whatever happened at check out!

Whilst on holiday from the UK we visited this vineyard whilst on our own styled wine tour. We visited many but this was our favourite. The staff were amazing and knowledgable. Mark our server was outstanding explaining each wine in detail and recommending others too. We were given a few extra samples and recommended other places to go to sample Long Island wines. The atmosphere was great as there was live music on the day we went. If I’m ever lucky enough to come back to Long Island we will definitely go back

Our dear friends took us to the Sannino family Vineyard. My husband and I have been to other vineyards around the country, but Sannino’s is exceptional. From the moment we walked into their beautiful store, we were immediately greeted and seated outside. The view of the manicured vines, lavender garden and andorondack chairs were inviting. Michaela our server introduced herself with a smile and energy that could light up a room. I knew we were going to be treated like family. Michaela’s knowledge of wines and menu suggestions were perfect. My husband ordered the aged brandy for the table. It was smooth and robust. By then we all became members. Anthony came to our table and explained the process of making his signature Brandy. He invited Ava Grace and Francesco Sannino to come to our table for photos with us. How amazing is that!! We are going back for salsa night. I mentioned the wonderful experience to our daughters and they are bringing their friends. Thank you!! ❤️Billy and Pari R.

My wife and I went there yesterday and absolutely LOVED it. The staff was so welcoming, the property is beautiful and the wine delicious! I’m sure it was the best Cab Franc I’ve ever had and I’m looking forward to opening one of the bottles I brought home. We are definitely returning on a Sunday so we can enjoy some music as well. I highly recommend this vineyard.

Hey for Anyone looking to book here this is your message to BOOK & GO!!! This by far was the best Vineyard I've been to in a very long time. We arrived around 11 on Sunday to start off our tour which was presented with Anthony, who was very kind and courteous , he then took us through the entire vineyard, cellar and packing and label area which we were given history on how everything started and the creation process which was super cool! Then around noon we sat for some brunch we got a complimentary charcuterie board along with a pizza we ordered and some drinks, everything was a 10/10, they also had live music playing which was such a vibe. We will definitely will be back it was 100 percent worth it, not to mention they are a family owned business.

We were celebrating a bride to be and this place was a 10 out of 10! It’s a family run vineyard and they were accommodating, informative and exceptional. We were so glad we booked this experience! We also loved the samplings and my fave was Petite Verdo!

Hammonasset Beach State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
Hammonasset Beach State Park is a must-visit gem along the Connecticut shoreline, boasting an impressive two-mile stretch of sandy beach. This picturesque park offers a plethora of activities for everyone, from swimming and picnicking to saltwater fishing and boating. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the exhibits at the Nature Center and can explore Meigs Point, where stunning views and unique rock formations await.
I was not aware of the fact that CT has such a beautiful, huge state park. Nicely maintained, clean, plenty of camping and picnic area. Like East Beach than the West beach because the East Beach was comparatively less chaotic. People were fishing happily. The cute museum in the parking was an additional attraction for any age of people.
Sudipta T — Google review
One of a kind park with camping and exquisite beaches, and best of all CT car plates get in for free. Their little museum is full of live animals too, so cool! The hiking trail at the very end is the gem though, beyond words how beautiful!

The water was nice and warm very clear path on beach even with clutter of other guests. There are changing rooms in rinsing off stations as you exit the beach plus a small little bistro quick grab snacks. Plenty of parking spaces with multiple lots available plus there is a shuttle service offered for the campers

This was a busy beach when we went on a Saturday afternoon. There were a lot of people sunbathing but nobody in the water that day. They have clean restrooms with a large covered pavilion. You can also walk on the trails along the beach. I was told by a close friend that the lagoon across the beach is a great place for bird watching too. There were a lot of birds flying around when we were there.

The beach is very clean and tidy. It is also good for family to go there and picnic. There is a good beach, spending time on the beach is also a nice way to spend time. There is a good trail along the beach which goes to a height from where the view of the beach is nice.

Best Ct Beach! I love how big it is. I always find a quiet spot. There is an awesome linear trail to walk also. I take a break from sitting too long on the beach & walk the boardwalk to the beautiful nature center. The wildlife here is simply amazing. I also camped here for many years in my life. Everyone is so friendly. There are beach pavilions also. They have rest rooms, changing rooms & showers. The view from the beach is stunning. There are many fantastic places to eat right on Rt 1, down the street, from american, seafood to italian & McDonalds. Everything is very close by. I now live in Florida, but every time I visit my family in Ct. This is my absolute favorite, go-to beach for EVERY season.

Hammonasset Beach 🌊 Another sea shore new to me today, Hammonasset Beach of Madison, Connecticut. Beautiful and expansive… Along the shore I wandered today, coming to a few spaces to pause in admiration of the ocean 🌊 so vast. Sitting by the water 💦 one of these times for about an hour, she gave me a sea shell 🐚 that she asked me to bring along with me. This has been another space I have been meaningfully guided to. The land, water, and I shared LOVE with each other. ♥️ A lovely experience at this beach are the dunes with sandy paths running through them as part of many access points to the beach. I really enjoyed wandering through here too coming to plant 🌱 friends I so appreciate…the Roses of the beach, of course, along with Red Pine, Juniper, Honeysuckle, Goldenrod, St. John’s Wort, Mullein…

Kidcity Children's Museum

Children's museum
Museums
Children's museum with 3 floors of hand-on activities, including a fishery & a medieval village.
KidCity is a museum for young children ages 1 to 7. It's located inside a historic house built around 1835; it was called the Camp-Sterns house and it was used as a covent for 70 years by St. Sebastian Church. The church donated it to be used as this museum. Before going, a reservation is required; making reservations was easy on their website. There was a metered parking lot behind the museum; when we went on a Wednesday, it was $1 per hour. Checking in was easy. There is a room where you can eat and drink, since you can't do that inside the exhibits; there is also a coat room and gift shop. Each room had a theme and kids are encouraged to pretend play. There are three floors and the room themes are: 1. Fishery 2. Space aged road trip 3. Middleshire 4. La Piazza 5. Rollerducks 6. Toddler Sea Caves: for children 2 years and younger. 7. Main St. 8. Farm They have artists that created these exhibits. The attention to detail was amazing; from the steam coming out of the sinks, the fake fire and sounds from the stoves, and the fire pit at the Middleshire, to name a few. The artwork was very intricate and well thought out. I give major props to the artists! We visited for my son's birthday and they gave him a free T-shirt, that's so awesome. The customer service was great. There were plenty of restrooms with changing tables. My family and I were there for a couple of hours and the kids loved it. I highly recommend a visit if you have young children! It's definitely up there with one of my favorite children museums thus far. Also, it's in a great locations with tons of restaurants nearby.

My son is almost 6 years old and he's been obsessed with this place since he was 3. It's a totally unique place where there are many interesting rooms such as a mini theater with costumes, a camera and buttons to control the lighting, a mini market, a post office and a kitchen ...real taxi car that makes sounds, a fishing ship room where there is also an igloo, a castle room with many moving mechanism, and many other interesting rooms where children spend unforgettable moments. I highly recommend this place 👌
Kasia C — Google review
The kids always look forward to coming here. Plenty of different themed rooms for them to play in. Their favorite is the medieval village, where they can move foam building blocks across bridges on conveyor belts. All of the rooms are well themed and interactive to kids of all ages. Don’t forget to make reservations before visiting! Free parking on Sunday’s and holidays in the Broad Street Municipal Parking Lot.

We had such a good time when we came to play. My grandson loved all the different toys and hands on activities. I also noticed the employees were disinfecting and cleaning. They all were so pleasant. It’s nice to visit some where that the employees enjoyed their job. Well worth the visit.

This was the most amazing thought out place. I can’t tell you how ready I am to take my son here every weekend. EVERYTHING is BEAUTIFUL. Their is so much little details all around that just make me so happy. So much creativity, I just can’t put into words how perfect this place is. Staff is also amazing! Easy check in process. Pack a lunch they have places where you can sit to enjoy a snack or lunch indoor/outside areas.

This is hands down the BEST children's space we have ever been to, and we have experienced some truly wonderful spots. What makes this space uniquely spectacular is the creativity of each of the spaces and the attention to detail is second to none. Low stimulation, but deeply engaging. There is something for any and every interest in the themed spaces. We live about an hour away, but there is no doubt that we will be back. (Kids are 5 and 3 - perfect ages, probably 8 would be the max age I'd recommend)

Aquarium
Nature & Parks
Long Island Aquarium in Riverhead offers a variety of interactive experiences, including boat rides, shark dives, and the opportunity to feed stingrays and play with sea lions. The aquarium is also planning a new Peconic River pedestrian bridge and maritime trail to revitalize the Riverside area.
I’ve been coming to the Long Island Aquarium with my family for as long as I can remember. It’s always been a great spot for a fun day out, especially for families with young kids. There’s a wide variety of sea animals and exhibits to explore. Some of the highlights for us include the butterfly exhibit, shark tank, feeding the sting rays, the octopus, and the sea lion show. When they’re visible, the sea otters are also a favorite. That said, there are a few areas that could use improvement. Admission is definitely on the expensive side, and the food court is a bit overpriced for what you get. The touch tank could use more interactive elements, and the outdoor marsh area feels like it’s missing something, it could benefit from a few more engaging features. Still, it’s always a nice time when we go. The staff are friendly, and the experience is consistently enjoyable. A solid destination for a family outing on Long Island.

A fabulous place to go. We have been going here over 25 years since they opened. . Make sure to catch the sea lion show and beautiful butterfly exhibit! We finally got to do the boat ride which was so amazing The boat gets beached at a beach historical habitat. On the way back it was hands on learning from our wonderful guide ( I think his name was Lincoln) . who lets you touch all the creatures found in the waters there. Very informative and good for kids and families . FYI. It’s about 1 and 1/2 hours. Bathroom on board. Shout out also to the captain of the boat. Some libraries have discount tickets.

The aquarium is the perfect getaway for part of your trip. Take your time walking around and review the map. We loved the outdoor area but of course very hot outside.

Family friendly fun. Food court is affordable. There are tons of activities to fill the day. There is a shuttle bus that will take you from the parking lot to the aquarium main entrance. I didn't know that so I'm letting everyone else know

Excellent aquarium! So much to see and wonderful! The butterfly place is really cool. They have tons of cool fish and setup very nicely. Been there Any times and will go back again.
AJ J — Google review
First I have to say. I think maybe the seals was the main attraction of the whole place. Unfortunately they was on vacation the day I went.  In my opinion the admissions was not worth it. The reptiles had the worst habitat . It's was dark. Poor lighting and no sun. Everything was artificial made even the so called wood. The birds had no room to fly. The owl poor thing can't fly like she wants. The monkeys also in the dark. The sting rays and turtles and shark tank was cool.  Reminds me how the Brooklyn zoo was manage about 30 years ago. Poorly. I'll stick with the aquarium in Coney Island. U can see where your admission money goes. It's a shame , so many rich ppl out in long Island and don't support there local aquarium.  I'm so glad I didn't bring my children.  Oh oh the tornado booth. Don't spend you $2 on it. I have a hand held blower that is more stronger wind then that booth.  Just a blow dryer on low. I was duked. Lol I try to get my money back but they said¯\_(ツ)_/¯.  The shuttle ride was almost nice. Just needed AC. Anyway read this then go and let me know if I was wrong.  Sorry  if there is any typos. I did not proof read. Have nice day. I can say more but that's enough. SMH

I have not visited the Long Island Aquarium in many years. We did have a enjoyable weekday visit. Looking forward to bringing my grandchildren here
J B — Google review
I went to the aquarium with my wife today. We paid for the bug encounter and the entomologist who helped us, Jared, was extremely friendly, answered any questions we had and made the experience memorable for the both of us. Give him a raise! Watching the seal feeding and the shark feeding were both a lot of fun, walking through the butterfly garden was a magical moment for us, and getting to touch the rays and the sharks in the touch tank near the entrance was also an experience we won't soon forget. The park wasn't super crowded, likely due to the fact that it was a weekday, and we had a great time just walking around and taking in the exhibits. We definitely plan to come back in a few years when our son is an older toddler and do one of the children's encounters.

Wadsworth Falls State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
Swimming pool & trails in a picnic-ready park that contains a waterfall, streams & a pond.
We have been to Wadsworth fall a couple of times. A short trip to this waterfall is very refreshing. There are small pedestrians all around to walk and enjoy the views here.
Prasenjeet K — Google review
Decent parking (although I went during their quiet season). Porta potty available since the main bathrooms were closed. Stupidly, I didn't know you could just drive to the waterfalls. I took the trail. Fyi, you have to leave the trail, to get to the falls. The trails were fairly easy to navigate. No big issues. Loved being able to get close to the falls. Worth the trip. It took me about 2 hours round trip to the falls and back.

Wadsworth Falls State Park in Middletown, CT The falls…a little falls and big falls here…are marvelous! Little falls was flowing very lightly today, as Earth 🌍 asks to be loved on all of her days and within all of her seasons. Oh, and big falls was flowing powerfully even with a downed tree laying across her top. You can walk through the trails in the forest to both falls. I wandered from the main park parking through the trails here to come to the little falls. A second parking area is right by big falls, which is where I went also to be present with the big falls with so many friendly fellow humans. Many Beech trees 🌳 and my beloved Hemlocks 🌲 live within the forest here. I paused to be with quite a few for a moments of presence. Oh, I just love wandering along a trail as thoughts flow through my kind and then on along with me. To be out here on tour of Earth’s vibrant and flowing spaces is so very meaningful. 😀
Ernie B — Google review
Excellent multi-use trail system and pond side beach. The park gets very busy as the day progresses so I recommend going early. The small falls is a relatively easy hike. The larger falls requires a short hike along a road to get to it if you're going to the main viewing area. The opposite side of the larger falls is a rail road crossing and a bit more of a hike. Either side is spectacular. The trails are well kept and there's a fair amount of both foot traffic and bicycles. There's quite a bit of trail. Bathrooms are available by the parking area. The park is dog and family friendly.

Going in fall is amazing if you like the crunch of the leaves and that dryer fall scent. Not overly pine. Had a great time seeing the bridge before heading up to the falls.

Still on my bike ride, came up on this place. There was an actual park ranger walking around, so be aware of the rules. Lots of parking, though I'm sure it could fill up quick. A beach, several picnic areas, woods and hiking trails, however there are "No Swimming" signs posted. Restrooms available, as well as porta potties. Lots of people hanging out, seemed fun, especially for small kids. The small covered bridge was very photogenic and a nice scene for the girls having a photo shoot in their quinceanera dresses.
JR's P — Google review
This park is so beautiful, especially in the summer and winter. There are 2 popular waterfalls. Big Falls is off the street and often a swimming, baptism, photo, picnic area. Little Falls is a 15 minute hike on the main to blue trails to a cascading view. In the fall, they drain the pond which seems awful for the wildlife but I'm sure there is a safety reason. There are plenty of picnic areas/tables. No alcohol is allowed, per signs and state regulation.

Plenty of easy walking trails! There is more sites to enjoy than just the main waterfall!

Bishop's Orchards Farm Market & Winery is a delightful destination for anyone seeking fresh, local produce and gourmet treats. This well-maintained market offers an impressive array of prepared dishes, healthy snacks, and a fantastic selection of wines. Visitors can explore everything from deli meats to homemade jams and jellies, as well as seasonal delights like pumpkin patches. The inviting atmosphere includes seating areas where you can enjoy your purchases alongside food trucks serving up tasty bites.
We came for Construction Tyme and had so much fun. The Construction Tyme tickets include the rest of the summer kid’s activities. The excavator and construction equipment were obviously a big hit, and the Corn Crib was a surprising close second. Who knew that sitting in dried corn kernels would be such a hit with kids, but it was!

19SEPT.2024 My first time here and this is a well maintained place. So many great prepared dishes, quick, healthy eats, wines, cheese, baked chips, dips, soups, etc. Wonderful selection of local wines, fresh, local produce, variety of nuts, dried fruits, deli meats, poultry, beef, fruit trays, jams, jellies, vegetables, and pot pies. A quaint little garden mart and homemade ice cream shop (on the outer left side of the Far Market)with a nice selection of flavors to choose from. So many great foods, veggies, and meals to choose from. All the employees are so polite and helpful. Great day to shop and look around.

Hold onto your receipt if you paid for anything. You will be questioned by multiple employees asking if you have paid for your merchandise. 4dollar value pumpkin. They do not have manners so no need to be polite and greet employees when they should be doing it before you. Last employee I said good morning to multiple times they questioned another person if they paid for their purchase ignoring me. A message to the owner. If you don’t trust people maybe you should close your doors. Hopefully you can see all my reviews for other establishments. None of them are negative just yours. Do better with the public and have better marked exits so people can leave without being told you can’t leave that way and then being treated like you stole something.

Very cute store and garden area. Up the road is the orchards, fall activities, corn maze and pumpkin picking. Easy parking, nice staff, lots to do for families. My only complaint was it was expensive. 15$pp for fall activities, $25 for apples, food was extra, pumpkins were also extra. Just something to keep in mind.

We stopped in for a few groceries. The store is well organized and well stocked. They have quite a bit of fresh food as well as other items available. Tanger Outlets Riverhead

Shopping
Tanger Outlets Riverhead is a popular shopping destination on Long Island, offering a wide range of brand-name and designer outlet stores. With 132 stores in total, visitors can find everything from clothing and shoes to housewares and luggage. The food court provides diverse dining options for all tastes, while convenient car-like carts make it easy to navigate the complex with little ones in tow.
In my opinion, one of the best outlets if you are looking for various types of brands. Quite a large number of shops and options you have in Tanger. Easy access from, ample parking and very helpful staff in each showroom. Weekend evenings are the best time to visit where you can find less crowds and many deals and offers.
Eranga T — Google review
Extremely disappointing experience at Theory Riverhead I visited the Theory store at Tanger Outlets Riverhead last Saturday and was very disappointed by the unprofessional and unfriendly service from one of the staff members. When I asked about available discounts and coupons, the employee responded in a very dismissive and unhelpful way. Even more frustrating, during the checkout process, our payment had not yet been completed, but the staff abruptly turned away to serve another customer without finishing our transaction. As someone who appreciates Theory’s brand and quality, this experience was completely unexpected. Great products should always be matched by respectful and attentive service. I hope the management reviews this matter seriously and ensures better customer care in the future.

Tanger Outlets Riverhead in Riverhead, NY isn’t just a great place to shop—it’s also a surprisingly stunning visual experience right from the parking lot. I have to say, the painted parking lines deserve their own praise. Each line was crisp, bright, and perfectly straight, giving the lot a clean, organized, almost artistic look. The white paint contrasts beautifully with the asphalt, and the spacing is so precise that it feels almost choreographed. Even the pedestrian crosswalks were freshly painted and aligned perfectly with the flow of traffic, adding to the overall aesthetic appeal. Walking across the lot, I couldn’t help but notice how the fresh paint seemed to highlight the neat rows of parked cars, creating a sense of order and symmetry that’s rare in a shopping center parking lot. The edges of each line are sharp and consistent, with no smudges or fading anywhere in sight. It made parking feel effortless, because each space is clearly defined and visually appealing—almost like the lot itself had been designed as part of the Tanger experience. Inside the outlet center, the layout and signage are just as well thought out. Stores are easy to find, walkways are wide and open, and the landscaping around the buildings complements the perfectly lined parking lot outside. The whole environment feels tidy, modern, and welcoming. Tip: Arrive earlier in the day for the best parking spots—they’re as beautiful as they are convenient! Between the amazing parking lot and the enjoyable shopping experience, Tanger Outlets Riverhead sets a high bar. Overall, I give Tanger Outlets Riverhead 5 out of 5 stars—from the gorgeous painted parking lines to the quality shopping, it’s a top-notch experience that I’ll be returning to again and again.

I must go place for shopping if you come to New York. All major brand and great discounts! A big food court!

Of all the Tanger outlets we have been to , this one is best in my opinion since the parking for cars is centrally located with the shops arraigned in a circular type fashion. The sidewalks are covered so even if it rains on any given day you can stroll to where you need to and not worry until you need to fetch the car. The trees strategically placed in the lot give it a real nice vibe. It is very safe to shop with plenty of spots to sit while your family shops and bathrooms are never too far away. Thank goodness they are no shopping carts.

Splish Splash Water Park is a sprawling 96-acre destination in New York, offering an array of thrilling water rides and attractions suitable for all ages. From the heart-pounding 40-foot drop on Dr. Von Darks Tunnel of Terror to the leisurely family raft rides through a tropical rainforest landscape, there's something for everyone. The park features over 20 exciting rides, including the high-speed Riptide Racer and the Giant Twister water slide.
It’s such a big nice park. My first time here, many rides lots of things for babies and kids to enjoy! I really loved how wide spaced everything was nothing was to crowded. I really loved the structure of having a staff give you your tube and having to than go to the ride makes things go by quicker. My son had the time of his life and so did i! 10/10 one of the best water parks we have been to! Also super clean and staff are really nice. For it being just the two of us we enjoyed so much! The park is cashless but they have these atm machines where you add your cash and get a free Visa card which can be used anywhere outside the park after.

It was a nice place I would recommend it everyone who wants to go or think about going there it's a good experience, lots of rides lots of things In terms of a water park experience, also a good place to take your mind off the stress of the week of work. But my only Surprise was I did not know that the food was so expensive it is very costly to buy food from there but I understood from some people that there is a package you can buy to save some money on the food so next time I decide to visit there again I will try the package. But all in all it's fun especially to see all the kids and also the adults enjoying the rides and also you meet all types of people there black white different nationalities so it's a nice place to visit and my personal experience it mattered a lot having been among all these different nationalities of people was quite good considering the climate that we are in right now in this country.

My first time going to Splish Splash with my 5 and 7 years old boys. We went on Friday on the 1st day of Summer break. The park was empty due to the cold weather. My kids had fun at the wave pool, lazy river and Stingray bay. The staff was friendly and the lifeguards was on top of everything. It was nice that the park had a lot of seating and shade from the trees. We will definitely return next time we head out east.

If you are looking for a clean, safe and fun water park, consider Splish Splash. But i recommend buy the ticket online. the Ticket on the gate will cost you $74+ but you can get online at $55. It will save you hassle on que to purchase ticket plus you save $20 bucks. They will scan your online ticket so get straight to security when you purchase your ticket online, They also have season pass, which will be good for frequent goers. You will get a free refill pf the drinks if you have season pass, but jot bad too for non, you can purchase your first drinks for $17 and .99cents per refill. So when you got 3 pr more refill that’s a great deal! As per water activities, they have a lot of group activity, you just have to strategize your que, because it can get very busy on some water slides. They have a app you can download to help you navigate which ride is open. It is also a must to have a phone water proof holder, and a aqua shoes or beach shoes if you have so you don’t have to worry loosing your slipper. cause a lot of the ride will ask you to take off slippers. But if you have aqua shoes you are good to go. Overall, for a day event it was fun and we had a great time! I found out too, that they have private Pavillon you can rent for private celebration. Oh just FYI, it is cash free. so make sure keep that in mind.

An Unforgettable Day of Fun at Splish Splash Long Island 🌊☀️ If you’re looking for the perfect summer escape that’s fun for all ages, Splish Splash in Long Island absolutely delivers. From the moment we arrived, the energy was electric—families laughing, water rushing, and the sun shining down on a park that’s equal parts thrilling and relaxing. We kicked off the day with Dr. Von Dark’s Tunnel of Terror, and let me tell you—it lived up to the name! Total darkness, heart-pounding drops, and unexpected twists had us screaming and laughing the whole way down. Then it was off to Bootlegger’s Run, their famous water coaster. The mix of speed, drops, and water jets made it one of the most exhilarating rides in the park. A must-do. The lazy river? So peaceful. We floated through lush greenery and gentle streams on Hollywood Stunt Rider, soaking in the scenery and recharging between thrill rides. The wave pool was another favorite—big enough to feel like a beach day, with just the right amount of wave action to keep everyone on their toes 🌊. But Splish Splash isn’t just about adrenaline. It’s incredibly family-friendly. The Kiddie Cove and Octopus Pool areas were perfect for younger visitors, with shallow waters, playful structures, and plenty of shaded seating for parents. And the staff was phenomenal—attentive, friendly, and on top of safety without being overbearing. Food options were plentiful and surprisingly tasty—burgers, nachos, ice cream, and refreshing drinks to keep us fueled throughout the day. 💦 Whether you’re a thrill-seeker, a family with little ones, or just someone looking to cool off and unwind, Splish Splash is hands-down one of the best ways to spend a summer day in New York. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Highly recommended! We’ll definitely be back again.

I went on a Saturday with my cousins and we had a great time overall. However, getting to the rides was a bit frustrating because we had to wait over 30 minutes for each one. The H2GO pass was $70 per person, and with 5 of us, it added up quickly. A few years ago, when I visited Splish Splash, the lazy river was much more relaxed, no lines and you could float as long as you wanted. This time, it was restricted to just one trip, which took away from the experience.

in Stony Creek Harbor, a few miles to the south is an archipelago of more than 100 rocky islands. It’s thrilling to think that these landforms are the peaks of granite hills that were submerged during the last Ice Age. Unlike many of the islands on Long Island Sound, the Thimble Islands are sturdy because of their granite bedrock and were settled in the 17th century. The sheltered waters soon became a key deepwater anchorage, and one story goes that the pirate Captain William Kidd buried his treasure here. There are 81 houses on the archipelago: Fourteen of the islands have only one house, while the most populated, Money Island, has 32. There are three boat companies at the Stony Creek Dock waiting to take you out on a narrated sightseeing cruise full of compelling stories.

Cedar Beach in Mount Sinai is a hidden gem that offers a delightful escape for beach lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Nestled along Harbor Beach Road, this picturesque spot provides ample opportunities for paddling in the Long Island Sound or exploring the tranquil backwaters of the harbor. Visitors can enjoy stunning sunsets while relaxing on its unique pebble shoreline, which is perfect for those who prefer a different beach experience—just remember to bring water shoes!
It is so nice I came late to watch the sunset and it was beautiful and if you go in deeper into the roads there is another smaller area of the beach but at the beach there is a little place where you can but food or drinks and back to the other beach it was so nice they had bathrooms but if you go in more deeper than there is a little patio where people go fishing and next to that patio there is a beautiful lake where people go fishing and across that there is a little path to go on a walk I didn’t go there but it looked nice

Generally, a great family beach. The town needs to increase parking in the evening by suspending the trailer only park after 6 pm. Designate the east trailer parking lot as a 24-hour trailer parking. After 6 PM, allow family cars to park on the west trailer parking lot. Especially on events like the upcoming fireworks and major holiday weekends.

Just a heads up it’s rocky, not a sandy beach. The water was clean and nice, and the overall atmosphere felt great. I do think there should be a bit more police or security presence though unfortunately, there’s always someone who tries to ruin a good day :)

Relocated back home to NY recently from Florida. Since it was such a mild day, I decided to walk here. It's so close.. I used to come here often with my children, fiance' and friends and other family. I missed this beach.. It's beautiful, quiet, has gorgeous sunsets, kid friendly as well as having wonderful live entertainment during the summer.. I enjoyed my peaceful day gathering unique rocks and shells..

Last year I had a great time at this beach!... however this year was awful!... we got ticketed 80$ (in the off season) AND their app to pay for parking was broken when we tried 6 times . And they had the nerve to ticket my vehicle as its ON and I'm moment's away from leaving after the day!!! Earlier the same day I had ANOTHER issue with a new rule that wasn't there last summmer, apparently NO DRINKS on the beach!? myself and others around me were upset by this as the bar tells us we have to stay up there the whole time with the drink and offers no to go cup. I couldn't even go tell my sister in law who was waiting for me at the blanket that I need to be be up here a while now because they didn't trust I was coming right back telling me I absolutely couldn't bring their glass on the beach.

Great for families and everyone alike. Tiki bar, restrooms, playground, ball courts, souvenirs, concession stand. Wear water shoes or crocs on the beach the shells and rocks are rough on the feet. Love this beach.
