Stopped by a few weeks ago and did a wine tasting. Hart was very helpful and knowledgeable about the wines and farm. He gave us recommendations based off what we said we liked and nothing we tried came up short. the rest of the staff were great too and they have two farm cats that greet you outside! this place is a must if your in the area and easily one of the best, most relaxing stops in maynardville. They have outdoor seating too so pack a lunch and come have a bottle of wine in the countryside.

My sister from Knoxville & I (from Indiana) went for wine tasting & to check out their gift shop. We've been there several times & it never fails to impress. Our server was Grant (I think) & he was so personable & fun. We could try 8 samples for $4 or you can do fewer samples @ reduced cost, basically 50¢ per sample. We bought 7 wines & a growler of hard cider. We sampled the 2 wine slushies of the day, also. We decided to get a wine slushies each & they combined the 2 slushies, red & white with something blue added to make "red, white, & blue"...it was awesome! We bought a Sweetwater Farm cheese which they sliced & served with crackers, as in the pic. We sat outside on their porch & had brunch. The only thing I would change is the view from the porch. I wish the porch was on the back of the building so you could look out over the gorgeous hills & the vineyard. Maybe this is something coming to the winery? There is a tent behind for events but we didn't check that out as they were having music later. If you're in TN near Knoxville, check this out ...you won't be disappointed!!

Went over the weekend for Wine and Chocolate pairing. Place is super cute. Great wine! Loved the set up of the wine and chocolate pairing. Wish they did them more than once a year. The guy that was hosting/speaking about the wines and desserts did a great job and the woman that was serving the wine to us was awesome.

Love this place great people great smiles and great service and Great Great wine beats all in Gatlinburg

You will never meet nicer people. The Winery at Seven Springs have everything you would need . Delicious wine and awesome craft building classes. I have tried their handcrafted Artisan Soap and it’s incredible. From vegetables to milk and meat plus cheeses. Family operated and a local blessing to have in Maynardville. It’s a must to visit!!

Stopped in on a rainy day (visiting Lake Norris) and had zero regrets! Wine was great, staff was super friendly and welcoming (Patty is excellent), and we enjoyed the shop too. Cheese was yummy! Would absolutely return if back in the area.
Maura S — Google review
We enjoyed a beautiful fall afternoon at the winery! The staff was awesome and Jessica did a great job of guiding us through their wines and history. They only had 3 dry wines, which were good, but they were heavy on the sweet wines. The biggest negative to the experience was the lack of a pleasant outdoor space. There was a tent and some picnic tables, but we were right next to solar panels, turned up ground, and mechanical stuff that wasn’t pleasant to look at. People were smoking under the tent, which we didn’t care for. They are pet friendly outside under the tent. Overall, we enjoyed our time there.
Traci H — Google review
The reisling is sooooo good. It was our first visit and we enjoyed the flight. We chose 4 from the menu. There is a pretty view of someone's property across the way when we were enjoying the tasting outside. The weather felt perfect after the huge rain & thunderstorm that occured hours earlier. Turned out to be a pretty evening.

Flea & Street Markets
The Great Smokies Flea Market in Kodak, Tennessee is a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists. This bustling market welcomes leashed dogs, making it a unique and pet-friendly shopping experience. With over 1,000 vendors, the market offers an extensive range of products including hardware, clothing, pet supplies, fresh local produce, furniture, designer brands, and more. Whether you're looking for something specific or just browsing for treasures, this flea market has something for everyone.
Had a bunch of stuff and food, Is always a fun childhood memory. P.S it helps to primarily use cash for better deals.
Draven B — Google review
I recently visited the Great Smokies Flea Market and had a fantastic experience. The market was filled with a wide variety of vendors selling everything from antiques to handmade crafts. The atmosphere was festive and perfect for a spooky-themed market. I found some unique items that I couldn't find anywhere else, and the prices were very reasonable. The vendors were friendly and helpful, and I enjoyed chatting with them about their products. The market was well-organized and clean, and there were plenty of food options available for a quick bite to eat. Overall, I had a great time at the Great Smokies Flea Market and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and unique shopping experience.
Bryan L — Google review
Very large flea market. Nice selection of outside vendors! Our problem, they open at 8am. More than half the vendors, inside and out, were not open. It wasn't until we were leaving, at 10am, that more of them had opened. We really wanted to see the merchandise in some of the booths. We went back around, and thankfully, one of them had opened, but another one was still closed. I'm not saying don't go. Just don't go too early in the morning.
Valerie H — Google review
The flee market experience wasn't bad. Lots of nice things. The prices are about the same as about a regular store which was sad and nobody was willing to negotiate. Very different than other flea markets I've been do. It was more like a small venue sales location pop up. Make sure to bring cash. We opted not to buy 3 or 4 things because many of the vendors only took cash and not card and we didn't want to pay the ATM fee (we didn't have cash on us). Really stinks because my husband loves a knife but found it at the knife and gun shop in Serviville for the same price
Teoda T — Google review
Locals shopping in full effect. Expired meds and snacks. Weapons. Motorcyle gear. Yard sale dust and must at bargain prices. Food. Indoor bathrooms and porta-potties.
L N — Google review
Enjoyed out walk through! Dad bought some coins and silver certificates from a guy that was only willing to to deal more in bulk to get a “discount” than he was willing to negotiate what dad was actually wanting. A little frustrating but still got a few things he wanted
Dennis J — Google review
They have a lot of good items and a wide variety selection of stuff. Went there for the sourwood honey, the guy selling boiled peanuts at the front has the best sourwood honey period as far as general flea markets go there's the cheap quality stuff that you can buy or ignore and then they have a lot of good quality stuff. Highly recommended in my opinion!!!
Kelley C — Google review
VERY large lot. Inside and outside vendors with a wide collection of different things ! We found so many cool toy/collectible spots, pet booths, lots of fun collector booths & even produce from local farmers. I would 100% recommend you go with cash as most of these vendors/people are not credit/debit card compatible. It's not ideal for myself as I never have cash, BUT I understand it from a sales point. Definitely some cool finds and very friendly people. Everyone was so willing to talk and educate of the products they had. Just a fun afternoon for sure.

The Goat Coaster at Goats on the Roof is a thrilling mountain coaster located in Pigeon Forge, offering an exciting 4,875-foot journey with stunning mountain views. The amusement park also features a goat petting zoo, sweet shop, gem mining, and country-style shopping. Visitors can enjoy feeding the goats and playing putt putt while competing to track their top speed on the coaster. The park offers reasonable prices and friendly staff, making it an enjoyable experience for both kids and adults.
We have tried out all the coasters in the area and in my opinion this was the best! The friendliness of the lady at the ticket booth was the start to a great experience. The coaster goes slow for a bit in the beginning but it’s fun to take in the views then it’s fast and fun from then on to the end. Everyone was very friendly. The man who showed us our pics had them ready when we got off the ride and they captured my kids having so much fun! Easy parking. No wait times when I went on a Sunday at 11am. Would do this one again over and over!

Okay okay, so this Mountain Coaster is truly legit! So back story, two years ago we came here we originally did the Mountain Coaster pictured on the orange sweatshirt (not gonna mention the name). My son wore it because he thought we were going to go to that one again but lines waaaay too long. So we decided to go to the Goat Coaster right down the street from the other one. The guy who helped my son (I didn't get his name but please forgive me) was very gracious and he saw the sweatshirt and said, "Ours go way faster". Fast forward 7 minutes later and boyyyyyy he didn't lie! It's definitely much faster than that other one. Needless to say, he took off the Orange Hoodie and we purchased the Goat Coaster hoodie and he put it on immediately! Everyone else that worked there was nice. They have a gift shop/coffee/bakery/other food choices and petting zoo for goats that you can feed (small fee). We can't speak for mini golf because we were there strictly for the thrills! We had a great time and definitely recommend it! No wait especially for a better thrill! Can't wait to come back. Truly da G.O.A.T

We passed this mountain coaster quite a few times on our way to and from the cabin we rented, so we made time to stop by on the last night. I am so glad we did! We waited until it was dark and dis it at night, and it was awesome! We would highly recommend, especially at night! Feeding the goats was really fun too. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area.

My first-ever coaster experience and I thoroughly enjoyed it! You pretty much have full control over your speed, so you don’t have to go full throttle unless you want to. The ride felt very safe and secure and was only $12/person when we went in May 2025. We only did the coaster portion, pet the goats and walked the gift shop, but you can also do mini golf, mining, and feed the goats if you want to. In addition to the goats, there was also a cat making his/her rounds and keeping an eye on the goats ☺️ very friendly staff and tons of souvenirs to purchase for decent prices!
Ellie N — Google review
Our family had a great time at Goats on the Roof Mountain Coaster. It was $12 for our son (under 13) and $15 each for the rest of us, which felt reasonable for the experience. The line moved quickly and didn’t feel long at all, even with a good crowd there. The coaster itself is one of the more well-designed, fast, and fun mountain coasters we've been on. Smooth ride, great speed, and just a lot of fun overall. Our only knock is how close together they send the riders. There wasn’t much wait time between carts, which caused an issue for our son who went first. He was excited to go full throttle, but unfortunately the person in front of him kept hitting the brakes. Because of the coaster’s built-in safety system, his ride kept slowing down to prevent a collision. It took away from his fun and left him disappointed. Still, he was the one out of all of us who was most excited to really engage in the experience, so we opted to pay for a second ride—and that time, he had a much better run without any issues. All in all, a really fun experience and a great family activity. We’d definitely come back and do it again!

INSANLEY INSANE!! Amazing golf course out front with a great coaster in back! Prices were pretty fair and loved the ride. $15 for me and ride was about 10 min but enjoyed EVERY minute. Views were great and a MUST stop in Pigeon Forge!
Aidan G — Google review
The best mountain coaster in Pigeon Forge. They actually have goats on the roof. They have a gift shop here, there is also food that you can buy in the gift shop. It looked like just desserts, but we didn't buy any food. There is also mini golf here as well. Next time we will definitely do the mini golf as well. We can't wait to go back!

Didn’t get pics of the coaster, but it is super fun! They have other things to do here. But on favorite is feeding the goats. They also have gem mining. The water smells funky but you get a lot of gems for $20 buckets.

Zoo Knoxville

Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
Nestled in Knoxville, Tennessee, Zoo Knoxville spans 53 acres and is home to approximately 800 animals from various parts of the world. Visitors can marvel at elephants, lions, giraffes, chimpanzees, tigers, gorillas, and bears among other creatures. The zoo offers an enriching experience with educational talks by zookeepers and engaging activities for kids such as mini-train rides and carousel adventures.
We arrived a little after opening and were pleasantly surprised to find plenty of parking and very few crowds. It was the perfect time to go — we got to see lots of animals up close without the usual wait or hustle. The zoo is very family-friendly with tons of fun things for kids, including a splash pad, carousel, and interactive areas that kept our little one entertained the entire time. Everything felt clean and well-maintained, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend it for families or anyone looking for a fun day out in Knoxville!
Hello E — Google review
Wonderful experience, despite the dreary weather on the day we came. Animals seem very happy and well cared for. All Zoo staff were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I brought my camera and snagged a few good photos. ❤️ Can't wait to go back!
Miranda H — Google review
One of the best zoos in the area, I volunteered there years ago as a kid and this year returned for the first time in decades. The changes were mindblowingly amazing and gorgeous. I loved seeing the old portion of the zoo turned into a playground and petting zoo. When you go make sure you don’t miss the animal encounters they are breathtaking and informative.
Feisty F — Google review
Very impressed with this zoo. The animals had amazing and large habitats and are very happy and well taken care of. I wish we had gotten in earlier in the day to spend more time there. Also, there are many little cafes to get food or a snack. Just a beautiful zoo!
Lisa H — Google review
Oh wow! We had an amazing experience at Zoo Knoxville! Great zoo, with friendly staff, and neat experiences!! I was able to feed a giraffe, a tortoise, and some budgies all in the same day! (I will be able to die happy now). The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about the animals. The enclosures seemed clean and there were enrichment items for the animals in many of them. Lots of great plaques with information about the animals. 10/10 recommendation from me for a fun experience in Knoxville!
Hailee T — Google review
We had a BLAST exploring the extremely well kept grounds at Knoxville Zoo! The artistic design and clear views of animals had us settle on leaving with a membership. We can’t wait to put into good use and are looking forward on being back for the new immersive experience opening soon! Thanks for making sure family fun days are done up RIGHT, Knoxville Zoo!
Abbie K — Google review
My son and I spent multiple days at the zoo and we did the VIP Rhino Experience, which was absolutely worth the money!, and enjoyed every minute we were there. We had the opportunity to interact with multiple staff that worked at the zoo and had such great conversations with them. We also did the Tortoise Feeding which again was well worth the money and the staff there was so knowledgeable about each of the tortoises from the tiny ones to Tex to those “visiting” while there enclosure is being worked on at their zoo. The staff at the Rhino Experience was not only knowledgeable, but had great personalities, as did the rhinos! Ranger and his brother Mylo were very gracious to let us interact with them and thank you Ranger for letting us pet/ love on you! There was so many great people that we met that were also visiting the zoo and happy to share facts back and forth with my son and I. We hope to be back at some point this year (we are from Florida). Thank you all for making the trip wonderful! We visited on both the weekdays and on Saturday.
Rebecca B — Google review
We planned our trip for the first week of April, probably not the best time to visit. Lots of animals missing and several construction projects ongoing. In my opinion, the zoo could use some upgrades, so the construction is understandable. Altgough more transparency would be nice. It would have been respectable for the website to explain what to expect during this time. This zoo is also lacking many of the bigger animals that you are expecting to see. I am from Indianapolis and the zoo there is truly amazing, maybe my expectations were too high. On a brighter note Ashley was amazing!! She took the time to talk with us about our disappointing experience. She also explained about some of the upgrades and new animals coming. I am excited to see this. Planning a return trip in the fall!

Nature & Parks
Ijams Nature Center is part of the 1,000-acre Urban Wilderness in Knoxville, offering a 300-acre wooded area with diverse trails and outdoor activities. Families can explore nature exhibits and enjoy outdoor and indoor play areas for kids. The center hosts events like the Meadow Lark Music Festival and offers history tours, lantern tours, naturalist programs, and the Original Owl Prowl. Urban Wilderness provides 42 miles of natural trails through five parks, neighborhoods, and schools along the waterfront.
I visited Ijams nature Center twice now once on a weekday and once on the weekend and both were pleasant experiences. I’ve hiked down to the Riverwalk and it is a beautiful scene took my dog down and he absolutely loved it. Also hiked up to the other side Where you can zip line. The park is dog friendly and not too busy. The trees gave lots of shades so it wasn’t too hot. But make sure you stretch before you hit the hill. Lots of cool exhibits along the walk and things to read and see. Will definitely recommend this place for a nice casual walk with a challenge to it.
Jana F — Google review
What a beautiful clean , well maintained Nature Center! There is something for all ages and walking levels . Also, there is Meads Quarry , a great swimming hole ! The Center offers many day events and classes. Check the monthly calendar on their website. The staff/employees are fantastic! Very kind and helpful. We just moved to TN and this is our favorite place!

Pay for parking via QR code where signs are everywhere - price is reasonable. We did the river loop trail using our All Trails map as the signage is not the best. Conditions excellent, great shade and enjoyed the two sections of boardwalk.
N F — Google review
First comer, and it was a fantastic time. I did multiple trails, including both the river boardwalk, and the quarry Trace hike. Wish I knew you could go swimming in the quarry; will make sure to do that next time around. Definitely recommend.
Theo E — Google review
Leo and I love coming here to hike and watch the wildlife. We're here at least 3 days a week so the parking pass is definitely worth it 😁 There is always something to see... Beautiful place!

A beautiful gem hidden away on the outskirts of knoxville! It’s an awesome place to get out to and explore with the family. Places for biking, hiking, walking, swimming etc. they have frog ponds, hiking trails, animal exhibits and much more. There is even a place to let the family walk along the rope climbs and use the zipline

Our party of 4 adults took the Beginner Survivalist class (and built an awesome debris shelter) with Kat and Madeline who were both fantastic instructors. We all learned something new with varied levels of outdoor experience and enjoyed meeting new people who also love all things nature. Would highly recommend the classes at Ijams to anyone in the area!

World's Fair Park, the site of the 1982 World's Fair in Knoxville, is now a beloved public space with various attractions. The park features the iconic Sunsphere tower and Tennessee Amphitheater from the fair. Divided into three sections - festival lawn, lake area, and performance lawn - it offers recreational activities and hosts events. Visitors can enjoy cooling off at the Court of Flags Fountains during summer or take leisurely walks along paved paths connecting greenways.
It's a beautiful park with play areas for children. They enjoy the water fountains. There are beautifully landscaped grounds and views of the water. At one end there is a memorial for Veterans. In a different area there is a stage with covered seating for concerts. The grounds in the park are large enough to host festivals.

What a gorgeous park! Highly recommend taking the time and exploring! The tower itself was a fun way to see the city from up high. Has a lot of 1982 memorabilia from its opening. $10 to get in. Kids will be bored in 10 minutes so be mindful of that. The outdoor theater must be amazing during a show!

Enjoyed a wonderful time with lady friend. There's a huge lawn area, artistic bridge murals, restrooms nearby and clean, playground area. The Square is easily within walking distance. I recommend going during the summer to enjoy everything the most. I was here today for business purposes and pleasure. I had to shoot some photography and video. The sky was mostly grey. But my photo assistant and I enjoyed the time there and spent a few hours just enjoying the sights and sounds. We loved the walk and plan to go back again this summer just for fun.

A really nice area for the whole family! The Sunsphere decorates the park with its amazing golden globe. The pavilion with the water in front of it is beautiful. The art under the bridge is great. The playground and splash pad por children are great to have your children have fun. And the location is perfect!

First time to kahuna festival. Try some wings from close to 30 vendors. They have activities for kids, but the fireworks WOW!!! Definitely even worth the $12 to see the 15-20 min display. That sold the wife and I we'll be returning for years to come
Mike S — Google review
Even after 43 years, the amphitheater still holds up. The rest of the park is very pleasant, and the water feature is great for the kids. Playing near the legendary Sunsphere is a nice visual treat, too.

This is an interesting area to explore and learn about some of Knoxville's history. They have a nice veteran's memorial down there and some unique buildings. You can get some fantastic views of downtown Knox as well. With that being said, the city could really do some work on their efforts to spruce the place up. The park has a lot of potential, especially the "water feature". But it seems as if the water has been left to become stagnant and collect trash. Maybe it is just because the fountains are off for the winter months. I enjoyed checking it out, but would be somewhat embarrassed to bring out of town visitors.

Such a pretty place to relax or being the kids . The fourth of July event is pretty neat could use more activities for older kids and could use more vendors

Museum of Appalachia

Museum
Education center
Smithsonian-affiliated museum featuring pioneer buildings & exhibits of regional history & culture.
A trip well worth it. We love historic sites, and this site is full of history. The site has 38 historic buildings, including a cabin where Daniel Boone lived and one where Samuel Clemons (Mark Twain) lived. There are thousands of artifacts on site. There’s a gift shop and a nice breakfast and lunch bar. We took hours touring the site.
Edward H — Google review
We had the best time here! Started our visit with lunch at their restaurant which was delicious Southern cooking. They even have homemade cakes and sourdough bread. Look up their menu online and prepare to get hungry. After lunch we set off on our tour of the grounds. Just follow the map that you are given -everything is numbered. Our kids were given little maps where you stamp as you go along for a prize at the end. They admitted that they loved it and learned so much. I love how the daughter of the founder of the museum lovingly hand wrote many of the relic descriptions. As you went along on your self guided tour, you were greeted by various residents (chickens, roosters, peacocks, ducks, pigs, goats etc). They roamed the property freely. I had no idea how cool this place would be!! Their gift shop had so much to offer. This place is worth stopping!! We have passed it up for almost ten years on our way to/from the Smokies. What dummies! Don’t make the same mistake-go, and go hungry (but before 2:30 pm). We will be coming again!!

Loved this. So much to see here. We spent half a day walking the grounds and exploring. So much to see. You can tell the ppl who founded this place have a real appreciation for the Appalachian people and their culture.
David S — Google review
This museum is like a walk through history specifically for homesteading and agriculture. There is a museum and two out buildings that have a wealth of artifacts from days gone by. There are also numerous other buildings that show what life was like 100 years ago. The tour on most days is self guided so I guess the admission fee goes toward paying for historical fees or something. I really enjoyed all the animals and especially the peacocks that roamed the grounds. This would be a fantastic venue for a wedding or family reunion. Definitely worth seeing and plan to stay for several hours.
Hebertchef — Google review
A very special and interesting museum. I spent an hour and a half there and really enjoyed every moment. It was fascinating to see the cabins and learn about the history of each one. The highlight was in the souvenir shop when a group of musicians played Appalachian instruments, it was absolutely beautiful.
ענת ח — Google review
I came expecting to be there an hour, ended up spending 4. Clean museum that truly told the story of the every day Appalachian person, along with the famous and well noted citizens. I especially appreciated the equal treatment given to every day people and the rich and famous. Large displays for wood carvers, crafters and musicians alongside founding fathers and military heros. I was really hoping to learn about the culture of Appalachia during my visit to Tennessee and this museum captured it beautifully. The museum is expansive and feels friendly, personable, like your neighbor or friend was the curator. Got a taste of great Southern cooking at the café for a great price. Very highly recommend.

Incredible collection showcasing Appalachian culture from the ancient to the everyday to the great American contributors who came from the hills and bettered us all by it. Best "snack shop" I've ever been to. Full dinners. Homemade.

Great park with hiking trails, picnic areas, cabins for rent and of course, lots of water! The visitor center was helpful for finding hiking trails and there were plenty of places to go for peace and quiet. We weren’t boating, but others were and it looked like fun.

This is a very beautiful little park in Tennessee. We just stopped in for the day, and the scenery is just amazing. Even though the dam is kind of the "selling point", there was still just so much beauty around it. The forests that you can walk through were stunning. We visited the grist mill, even though the shop was closed, and they also have a thrashing barn and a museum. I think you can swim here somewhere but I never saw the spot. We went to one of the playgrounds and ate lunch at the picnic tables and it was a very cute, beautiful area.

This dam & the areas surrounding it are definitely worth visiting! Also while your there Check out both Museums! Ones small at the top on the left right before you go over the dams bridge! The other is at the bottom it’s bigger & definitely more informative! The guy working there was so nice & accommodating! All facilities & grounds are well maintained & kept clean!

We enjoyed this campground with all of its history. If you are camping in a bigger rig, the roads to both the east and west campgrounds are tight, winding and steep. There are some low hanging branches. The picnic shelters are super nice with flush toilets and very nice playgrounds. It does appear that there has been some delayed maintenance at the campground. The people that answer the reservation phones are SUPER nice and very helpful, especially Diana who helped us out of the issue we had.
Melissa G — Google review
Excellent access, picnic area handicapped accessible. Nice wooded aeea. Dam is something to see with its electrical generation. ...but this is East TN, which is hilly, rough, and beautiful. That's the REAL sight to see. Pics are of the old canal system down the road from the mill building.

Tuckaleechee Caverns is a must-visit destination, offering a fascinating underground experience estimated to be millions of years old. The 1.25-mile roundtrip adventure into the cave showcases millions of formations, including the impressive 12-foot-high stalagmite known as the Totem Pole. Visitors can also marvel at the massive room that could almost fit an entire football stadium and witness Silver Falls.
Hello...hello....hello! My son and I went to Tuckaleechee Caverns this month while visiting the Smoky Mountains National Park. We weren't able to see Crystal Cave in Sequoia National Park, so these caverns were on our to do list. The history of the caverns was fascinating! Those little boys were brave to explore with only kerosene lanterns back in the day. The tour took about an hour and a half. Our guide was excellent and thoroughly explained the different formations. The Big Room is amazing! We also saw rivers and a beautiful waterfall. The caverns are 58 degrees, so it's a nice way to beat the heat. Wear a light jacket if you get cold easily. The paths were well lit and maintained. We would recommend wearing good sneakers or hiking boots. We would highly recommend visiting Tuckaleechee Caverns!

Such a cool experience! Saw the billboard while driving to our campsite at Elkmont and decided to check it out. We didn’t buy tickets in advance, and only waited a few minutes to get on the next available tour. Our guide was great! (I think her name was Aliyah?) She made the tour a lot of fun with her commentary. It was pretty strenuous with a lot of stairs and uneven ground. It was slippery in some parts where the ground was wet. Be prepared- wear comfortable shoes with good grip. The views are definitely worth it. The caverns are beautiful on camera but truly breathtaking in person.
Madison W — Google review
It was a wonderful experience—it’s not every day you get to see a real waterfall inside a cavern. Absolutely beautiful! The cave is filled with fascinating ancient formations and an underground river. At the end of the tour, we even got to taste fresh spring water straight from the waterfall—it was crisp, mineral-rich, and delicious. The story behind this place is truly captivating.

Very impressive, took me by surprise. We've been to a few Caverns and the famous Mammoth Cave in Kentucky and to be honest this cave was almost as big or fest bigger than Mammoth Cave. Great value and a great place to take the family for a day out. The tour was entertaining and extensive. Our favorite sections were the falls and the great room. When they turn the lights off things got really interesting lol.

We're in Gatlinburg for Thanksgiving week, and it was raining today so we decided on "inside" activities. I'm so glad we went to Tuckaleechee caverns. First and foremost, wear shoes that can handle slippery surface and lots of stairs. A total of 410 to be exact. If one has health issues, I don't recommend trying this. What goes down has to go back up and they're steep. We had the .ost amazing tour guide and for the life of me can't remember her name. She's tall and has beautiful long black hair. I think it was Aaliyah, but not sure. Its one of the best caverns we've been to and well worth the steps down. They also offer a Military discount, so don't forget to ask.
Karen M — Google review
Definitely one of the top caves I have been to and I have visited a lot in different areas across the USA. This is well worth the visit! We had a great tour guide (Ellie) and all the staff was helpful and friendly. Use caution if you have limited mobility. There are a few sections you have to be able to crouch low and climb up/down uneven stairs. I think this adds to the charm of the cave because it has not been overly developed but it does mean you need to be stable, balanced, and have decent mobility. Overall I highly recommend!
Stephanie A — Google review
Our tour guide was great - high school kid with great knowledge of the caves and the history of the place. He was terrific with the younger kids that wanted his attention. The caves were well lit, well taken care of, and SO much to see! A great surprise - we weren't planning the last-minute adventure, but sure glad we did it!

Me and my Husband have been on a few cave tours in different states, and this was by far our favorite. The pictures do not do this place justice. Our tour guide, Orie was absolutely amazing. He was so very educated on the history, at such a young age. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and had us laughing the whole time. We didnt have high expectations standing in the building, but after our tour, I would definitely encourage anyone to visit.

The center also features a working gristmill and historic buildings that showcase life in the Appalachians. Situated near picturesque valleys and mountain vistas, this area is popular for wildlife viewing and outdoor activities like hiking and biking.
Bathrooms and a water fountain and a little store with friendly staff. Nice place to stop half way through the scenic route. Gifts and some chocolate you can buy. Little village like place you can walk as well.

Cool experience and worth a visit. If you have the time and visit during the summer months. Take advantage of the near by waters for a relaxing day of swimming. Pack a picnic for you & your family and take your time hiking and exploring this area. Go early for a chance to spot some bears....

Plenty of parking and restrooms available, which makes it a great place to stop during your Cades Cove drive. Just a heads-up there’s no cell service out here, so plan ahead. The gift shop has lots of cool national park knickknacks, stickers, and souvenirs. There’s also plenty to see and do as you walk around, including historic buildings and beautiful open fields. The mountain views are absolutely stunning. A must-stop if you’re exploring the area!

The visitor center is full of information about the history of Cades Cove. The store has so many books about history and nature. This is a good place for souvenirs too. The grounds are a walk into the past from the home to the barn, grist mill and more. It’s a very peaceful and relaxing place for a walk.

We were there Friday, Oct 14, 2025 around 11:30 am. It was an 11 mile bumper to bumper snail’s pace drive. No wildlife other than a few deer, scenery wasn’t nearly as beautiful as the scenery on the drive to get there. We recommend driving up there, then turn around and drive back…plenty of places to pull off for pics and amazing views. Skip Cades Cove, very disappointing and took forever to get through because drivers were literally stopping foe minutes at a time, we have no idea what for.

Abrams Falls Trail in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park offers a picturesque 20-foot waterfall with a large volume of rushing water, creating a stunning sight. The falls lead to a deep pool, perfect for photo opportunities. The 5.2-mile round-trip hike through pine-oak forests and beautiful rhododendrons is moderate with some uphill sections. While tempting, climbing on slippery rocks or swimming near the falls is dangerous and should be avoided for safety reasons.

The museum features interesting exhibits and also offers bus tours of historic Manhattan Project sites such as the X-10 Graphite Reactor.
A hidden gem of Oak Ridge, TN. Museum is small, one afternoon is enough time to see it all. Quality, design, and layout are all excellent. Honestly haven't seen that quality of design and scientific explanation outside of a Smithsonian. Very Highly Recommended.

We had a great time on the tour! It was very informative, and the host very knowledgeable. My grandmother worked on the Manhattan Project at Oak Ridge, and it was great to learn more about what her life would have been like there. It was only $15 for a 3.5 hour tour, and definitely worth every penny! I would highly recommend this tour, just be sure to register in advance, as they only do a few tours a week. Thank you for a great day!

Our family loved this tour. It was more than fairly priced. The tour guides, Janet & Jerry were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. All three stops on the trip provided unique insight into various aspects of the Manhattan project and history of Oak Ridge.

We were visiting in the area and looked forward to attending this museum. We were not disappointed. It was very educational, and a lot of fun. Well we did not attend with children, I think there were enough interactive activities that any child over the age of eight or nine would have enjoyed it quite a bit.

There was a great display on the Presidents and their contributions to our Science, Technology and Energy futures. The staff was very helpful answering all my questions.

Overwhelming amount of information but very well done. Definitely worth the admission fee. My favorite part was the gizmo in the children's area that had balls rolling through it. They have a neat gift shop too, full of nerdy things. 😁

Great place for kids! Admission prices are reasonable, and I'm happy to support the museum, simply because it's awesome. My boys love this place! We spent 3 hours there and could have stayed longer, but the boys needed sone time outside. Thankfully, there's a play park attached to the parking lot. We'll definitely be back as regulars.

My kids love this place! So many fun exhibits for kids that also provide some really interesting history about the area for adult. I'd recommend getting a family pass if you plan on coming a few times a year. Prices have gone up but honestly it's certainly worth the price of admission. Would be nice to see a few new exhibits. During the years I've been coming here, it's pretty much the same, but my kids are the age that they certainly don't mind. My family of five normally spends around 2 hours here and the kids enjoy every moment.

Not a real museum, just a bunch of romper rooms and ill-behaved children smashing everything up. If you're going for the NPS stamp just get your stamp and leave. Save yourself the $10.

Great place for learning and playing. I brought 4 kids 10 and under by myself and they all enjoyed themselves with the learning play and with all the many different types of exhibits and activities. If you or your kids like history or really any other activity then this is a good place for you. Tickets were cheap - adults $10 children( 3+) $8 and children under 3 free.

A great place for kids and parents in Oak Ridge. Oak Ridge has a rich history from its WWII starts as a secret city. You can find maps of the various sites to visit at several locations throughout the city. We picked up one of these and the Children’s Museum was one of the first and closest places that we came across. It is in the heart of Oak Ridge and is a true haven for kids eager to explore, learn, and have a blast. The entrance has a foyer where you are greeted by staff that offer suggestions and collect a fee to visit the museum. This is really designed for kids so adults may find few parts of it as interesting as the children will. The museum's interactive exhibits are very nice and are designed to provide children with hands-on experiences that engage all their senses and show a history of the area. From the fascinating Science Lab, where budding scientists can conduct experiments, to the colorful Arts and Crafts Corner, where creativity flows freely, every corner of the museum offers a unique experience. The museum does a very good job of incorporating education into the exhibits. The exhibits focused on STEM fields, history, and nature, children can broaden their knowledge while having a fantastic time. In conclusion, the Children's Museum of Oak Ridge is a gem in the realm of interactive exhibits. If you have children this is probably a good place to visit.

My daughter which is 4 years old loved this place!! We live in Nashville and our just down here visiting. We stumbled upon this place and we're so happy we did. There's so much to learn and do here. Of course my 4 year old didn't want me to read everything to her. She mainly wanted to play of course. There's something to do and learn here for all ages. Then we stumbled into the room with the 2 story dollhouse that kids can play in. My daughter loved it so much that she didn't want to leave!! Beautiful museum! Very clean and very organized. We will be back.

It's a great location in the middle of endless curves, mountain trails, and fishing. Large garage to put group motorcycles is a huge asset. We even had a hot tub at the end of the day to warm up and relax muscles in. House works well for groups with 4 bedrooms in the treetops house, but needs some TLC on windows. TONS of info about the British army fighting in America. The museum is stuffed with interesting historical objects displayed beautifully. Amazing amount of history here. Don't miss it if in the area!

Beautiful museum, nice information video, awesome gift shop and then the actual Fort Loudoun Fort. It was HOT so we kept our outdoor tour short but most of the buildings were open. There are two other areas you can drive to visit but we were on a time crunch. Dogs were welcome inside the museum and in the fort. One of the PROs for this stop was the young lady at the counter. She was very knowledgeable, answered all of our questions - we had some regarding the flooding to create the dam/lake. The video was very nice and selection in the store was good. Only down side was it was awful hot.

Super cool place to visit on our vacation. Went with a total of 8 kids and 4 adults - everyone enjoyed it. Watched the quick film on the history of Fort Loudoun then went to tour the area. So cool to walk in to all the cabins and see all the old stuff. Kids loved stepping back in time. After touring the area we went back to the gift shop and picked up a few fun trinkets. They also had honey sticks that were SO yummy. Its a fun, family friendly and educational place. Awesome piece of American History!

We really enjoyed visiting. The grounds are open to explore. The visitor center has a lot of educational history and artifacts. There are trails to walk and explore. Picnic tables and benches. I wish we had more time to explore that day. We will definitely be visiting again. The restrooms are in the visitor center, and the visitor center closes at 4:30 pm. Donations are encouraged, and it is definitely worth it to keep up this nice place.

Bald River Falls

Nature & Parks
Waterfalls
This scenic, 90-foot waterfall is a popular destination for nature observation & photography.
Beautiful and very nice. The roads in and out of the falls are pristine brand new there is one switchback that's slightly technical halfway to the falls but take your time and I'm sure you'll be able to manage if you're on a motorcycle. The falls are absolutely breathtaking. Check out or channels @2wheelwhit for more videos and photos.

A most beautiful waterfalls right off the road! Parking is a little tough, but you can view the waterfalls from the road and see it beautifully. They have a wonderful place there to walk and stroll and look at the falls taking your time. But this is a wonderful place for those who would like to see a waterfalls but can no longer hike! I took a group of ladies there who have trouble walking, and they were delighted to see the beautiful falls and not have to hike in to see a falls. It’s close enough to Tellico to find a neat place to eat in the community! This was my second time being there and I hope I get to go again!
Carol — Google review
Definitely put this on your list of places to see! It's a fairly short but scenic drive from Tellico Plains, albeit on a very narrow road for two way traffic. Once you get there, you can park right beside the falls and see it from the bridge or hike down the rocks to the bottom and get even closer. There's also a nice short 1/8 mile hike to get to the top which offers an excellent view as well.
Bear — Google review
A wonderful place to spend the afternoon with family. The new bridge and viewing area is fantastic. Plenty of room with excellent views and safe from traffic. Great family photo spot with the falls in the background. You can venture down a steep rocky path and go in the water. It's cold and the spray is enjoyable on a hot day. It's really a sight to see from any angle. It can be crowded at times but it's still enjoyable. The one drawback is the popularity far outpaces the amount of parking available. At times inconsiderate people will just leave their car in the road and take pictures. It creates a big traffic mess. You can't escape rude people but it is what it is. The other drawback is no porta pottys and no bathrooms close by at all. None of this is a big issue if you prepare ahead of a visit. It's so worth a stop. Really a beutiful peaceful spot in Cherokee National Forest. All your stress will wash away walking in the water at the foot of the falls. It's especially enjoyable after a big rain. Just bring some patience and come experience a natural beauty.
John G — Google review
Beautiful Falls! There are two sections, an upper and a lower falls. There is more parking and a restroom at the upper falls. Walking down to the lower is not that far however it can be a hike for some going back since it would be up hill.
Walter B — Google review
Bald River Falls is one of my favorite waterfalls in the Cherokee national forest. The new pedestrian area on the recently completed bridge allows cars to continue moving and safety for amazing photo opportunities!
Sue U — Google review
Beautiful falls right next to the road. You can walk down to the base of the falls and take a swim if you like. Warning… don’t get close to the falls while swimming, the current is very strong!
Riley C — Google review
Really nice spot! The waterfall is right off the road so you can even see it from your car if you want to. The drive out to it is beautiful and makes for a great little trip. It can get a bit busy at times, but it’s definitely one of the easiest and most scenic waterfalls to check out without having to hike.

We really enjoyed visiting and doing the tour to see the robotic milking machine, the cattle and the cheese tasting. David, our tour director was not only outstanding at explaining all the details of the milking operation and details on the cows, his humor was very appreciated! Everyone at the farm was extremely friendly and made us feel most welcome. After tasting most of the 30 different variations available we did end up purchasing 2, smoked habenero and black pepper. We strongly suggest anyone interested in farm life, milk production, cheese making, etc., take the time to visit Sweetwater Valley Farm. It really was extremely educational and informative. A very enjoyable experience.

Overall, a fantastic family experience! Watching the robots milk the cows was both fun and educational. The highlight was definitely the amazing educator and tour guide who made the visit so enjoyable. I loved the Farm Frappe — a perfect mix of coffee and chocolate crunch. The jalapeño pimento dip was delicious, and we really enjoyed the walnut raisin bread with hot coffee at home. Picked up a few memorable gifts too. A great place to take family and guests!

Great place to visit. Farm fresh cheese and shakes. They have amazing grilled cheese and grilled sandwiches! They also have a cute little shop and a store they sells cheese and meats. They do tours of the dairy farm as well. Parking was easy. I would recommend stopping in if your ever in the area.

1st time at Sweetwater Valley farms today. Located between Philadelphia and Sweetwater on HWY 11. Turn off onto a beautiful drive up to the farm. This is a working dairy farm. There is a Cheese store where they turn their milk into cheese for sale. You'll find in the store a sampling table where you can taste before you buy. The cheese store has homemade bread and a variety of jelly and jams. Next, head over to their sandwich and gift shop. Don't past go, until you at least get the very best milkshake from the food counter. Wow!! We didn't try a sandwich this time. They all looked good. When they went to their owners at the table. There is plenty of parking. They do tours of their robotic milking process. I look forward to seeing when the grandkids are here for a visit. Then I'll get another milkshake...lol.

Sweetwater always has a large and diverse selection of cheeses to choose from. I've stopped in several times during travels and I always go over my limit. It's so hard to choose just a couple types! The service is always friendly and the store is always clean. The window to the factory to see how things get done is a nice touch! I'll be back again!
J H — Google review
First time visiting Sweetwater Valley Farms, they have a huge selection of cheese which are all amazing. They have a little restaurant, which I have to say, they have the Best grilled cheese sandwich!! And we tried the mini shakes which were delicious. We will definitely visit again.
Charlotte B — Google review
This is a charming and picturesque little farm with a peaceful atmosphere and plenty of character. The two small shops have the kind of local goods you'd expect from a tourist stop, and the food was tasty, though a bit pricey for what you get. We really enjoyed our visit and would love to return sometime to take the full tour and explore more of what they have to offer.

The Cherohala Skyway Visitor Center is a must-visit spot for travelers in the area. The knowledgeable and gracious staff make visitors feel right at home, providing free maps and brief overviews of the scenic Cherohala Skyway. The gift shop offers a variety of locally made items, including unique pottery from Mudslingers. Visitors can also enjoy a picnic lunch or snack in the nice outdoor area.
We stopped in here, and when we did, we were completely blown away by the hospitality and cleanliness. There are amazing free things to do here. There's also a gift shop with plenty to buy and sales with good deals. There are two out of this world museums that have things that no other place has, and it is an absolute must-see if you are traveling through! Take the time to find a souvenir, then meet some of the nicest people and explore some of the history that molded our country into what it is today. One more thing, we thought was super cool is if you ever wanted to see how the telephone was invented and how it came to be?This is a place to go!

Everyone here is friendly and knowledgeable. Store, including bathroom, is always clean and tidy. The museums in the two buildings also on-site have some amazing historical artifacts! The phones, switchboards, and phone booths were my favorite part.

I’m shocked at how nice this place is, it looks like a welcome center to a big city with funds. There’s a really cool display of some bears in the history of this area and the surrounding area is also. There’s actually an electric vehicle charging station.Lots of fun, cool merch to pick from if you’re looking for shirts, keychains cups, all the things.

While some may have difficulty climbing up the steps due to physical limitations, it remains an awesome sightseeing destination worth exploring on one's own.
The Field of the Woods in Murphy, North Carolina is an extraordinary landmark and well worth a visit. It features the world’s largest copy of the Ten Commandments, set into the mountainside, creating a striking and memorable sight. River Rafting & Tubing
Rolling Thunder River Company is an adventure company that specializes in whitewater rafting trips, as well as kayaking, canoeing, and tubing runs. The Toccoa River, known for flowing north and offering opportunities for tubing, kayaking, and rafting during warmer months, can be experienced through bookings with local outfitters like Lake Blue Ridge Outfitters, Jon Ron Toccoa River Outfitters, and Rolling Thunder River Company.
Best Rafting EVER!! My 14-yr-old son and I were not prepared for the fun, thrills, and pure joy of a raft ride with Rolling Thunder. I'd done a few Nantahalla rapids trips with other companies in the past, and there's no comparison. From the moment we walked in the door we were treated with warmth and consideration. Our rafting guide, Liv, was energetic, encouraging, knowledgeable, and steady; the perfect blend of free spirit and seasoned professional. We felt like we were in excellent hands. And that was important, as there were some formidable rapids waiting for our lively little raft! We got soaked, spun, tossed, lifted, bounced around and gently carried over the course of hours that flew by. There was sunshine and heat, rain and mists, so we never got too hot or too cold as it felt like we experienced several seasons in one afternoon. I could go on and on but you need to see for yourself. This is a top-notch outfit and it's no wonder they've been in business so long. Looking forward to our next adventure!

This is our second time using this Rolling Thunder River Co. First time white water rafting. What an incredible experience! The boys were entertained by playing basketball while we waited. They provided bubbles and chalk for the kiddos. The bus ride was even fun! Our guide, Bret was super cool and chill. 🤙🏼We definitely had the best from the rest.😎 Bret, you rock! 10/10 Thank you for such an awesome experience and memories to last a lifetime! Highly recommend Rolling Thunder River Co. everyone we encountered from beginning to end was so pleasant and friendly. We will see you guys again soon!

What an awesome experience. We were so stoked to enjoy this incredible trip. Could not have picked a better outfitter. These guys are the real deal. The guides were all incredible and knew the river intimately. We loved the vibe with all the staff and really appreciated their professionalism and attention to detail. Every part of our journey from beginning to end was fantastic and we owe it all to Rolling Thunder and their total commitment to excellence. They have the gorge on lock. We loved the small business vibe and the awesome base camp. They are the outfitter that all the other guys want to be. Shout out to Nick, Dewitt, and Brenin for ensuring we all were safe and had a killer time. Will use Rolling Thunder for many trips in the future. There are not words enough to sum up how awesome these guys are, but trust that these are the people to use if you want to have an incredible experience with the best guides in the gorge. You guys rock…

Scenic Railroads
The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway is a restored heritage train that offers a 4-hour, 26-mile round-trip ride through the Appalachian foothills, along the Toccoa River, and through the Chattahoochee National Forest. The railway's tracks date back to the late 1800s and were originally used for mining and timber industries. After being purchased in the early 1900s, it operated as the Louisville & Nashville railroad until ceasing operations in 1987.
What an incredible experience and great way to make beautiful memories with your family. Spent the day in Blue Ridge and enjoyed the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway immensely with my parents and wife. Located about 2 hours away metro Atlanta this is a gem of Georgia with small city old rustic charm and beauty. The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway had a 2 hour ride and 4 hour ride (which I believe is the 2 hour ride with a 2 hour town exploration component added on). We opted for the 2 hour scenic railway and chose the indoor cabin but found that both the outdoor seating area and indoor cabins were full on a Tuesday afternoon so I can't say which one is more popular and/or better. The ride from the indoor cabin itself was peaceful, beautiful, and scenic. Riders get views of both the mountain side and river side (Toccoa River) as the guide asks guests to switch sides once the half way point destination is reached so you can enjoy the other side of train on the way back to Blue Ridge. There is a nice concession stand as well as a bar that serves mimosas. We enjoyed the concession stand area and bought a few souvenirs to remember the trip by. 5 solid stars for Blue Ridge Scenic Railway and two huge thumbs up! Adventure is out there! Thank you to the staff and crew!

Loved this adventure today in car 114! It was beautiful scenery. Our tour guide was cool, he properly introduced himself, but of course I can’t recall his name (I’m sorry.) I was able to sit next to some good peeps and ‘Hawk Eye Betty’ was even quick enough to spot us a deer! I will say they properly say to arrive 45min early to pick up your ticket and it was spot on! Even thought the line was long, it didn’t take long to get the ticket from the prepaid ticket window. I deducted a star due to web link to see parking was “not found.” Thankfully I found a lot to park in nearby, but the info is not marked well. They caution you to be careful because some parking is limited to 3 hrs, so I could not tell if I was fixing to waste $10 to park. I was fortunate enough to have a couple walk up that used the lot yesterday and was able to confirm it was all day parking. I have tried to save the parking info, so maybe I can request that the web link be fixed to show you parking options and to put a sign on/near the parking kiosk that it is day parking, but I am going to include info in pics. The lot I used which was great is right by tracks and stores: Blue Ridge Bird Seed Company and M. Main Farmhouse market. The train ride is worth it in the open car! It was cold today and it was very tolerable with appropriate attire.
Bambi H — Google review
We and others were a bit disappointed to learn that the train does not go up the mountain or through any valleys. In fact, for the majority of the ride, one side of the train has nothing to look at because there is a berm right up to the rail. The other side has a view of a small river the majority of the ride. It is a very pretty view, but a lot of it is more about seeing nice homes along the river than seeing fall foliage. Also, for what it's worth, the train only goes 10 mph. It's a 26-mile round trip ride on flat ground. No hills. We rode the Premier car, and it was comfortable. The attendant was nice. The town surrounding the train station is very charming. A strip full of restaurants and shops. I will be back to experience all of that. All in all, the train experience was a little underwhelming for me.
Brian E — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our trip on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway was absolutely incredible! We booked Coach Car C for the 2-hour ride, and it was such a perfect choice. Sitting in the open cart added a whole new level to the experience—the crisp fall air, the colorful leaves, and the peaceful sounds of the train made it unforgettable. The views along the route were stunning, and stopping at the Georgia/Tennessee border was such a neat highlight! It’s the perfect outing for anyone wanting to soak in some fall beauty and small-town charm. Highly recommend! 🚂🍁
Alicia J — Google review
I visited the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway with my service dog Toothless. He has never experienced a train, so it was a training day for him. Lots of new sounds (many of them scary), steep stairs to board (handicap lift available), so many new smells, and crowed with lots of new people! He did a fantastic job learning and listening. The staff from check in to helping me find my lost key fob was fantastic! Jeff was our guide for the Express Ride and had some good "dad jokes" and a fish story!. The weather was crisp and the fall colors on full display! Such an amazing experience and history of this rail line! We will definitely be back!
Sue U — Google review
We opted for the 2 hr open coach tour...short & a relaxing afternoon ride. Bit early for foliage, prefer the ride out this time of year, not much to see on return. Note you change seats on return so you experience both sides. Narrator Chip did a wonderful job. Arrive early for good seats as train is popular.
Teresa D — Google review
My Husband and I got to mark an experience off of our bucket list! We went on the 4 hour ride on Halloween 🎃 day! All the workers were dressed up. The leaves and scenery was so beautiful. The only downside was that Cooper Hill Tenn and MaCaysville Ga were extremely crowded and the map we received was hard to navigate!
Carla C — Google review
I thought the ride was going to be too cold in the open car, but the train didn’t go fast and the weather was perfect. Our car guide, Jeff, was super informative and even funny at times😃. He was full of knowledge in both history and local stories. I also loved that passengers changed sides on the return trip so everyone could experience all of the views.

Mercier Orchards is a charming 300-acre orchard established in 1943, offering a variety of pick-your-own seasonal fruits. In addition to apple picking, visitors can indulge in the farm cafe's delectable breakfast and lunch options, including their famous fried pies and fresh apple cider donuts. The orchard provides a delightful experience for all ages, combining agricultural heritage with Blue Ridge's rich history.
Mercier Orchards is truly an apple wonderland! You’ll find countless varieties of apples, each fresh and delicious. They also sell the most amazing apple donuts — soft, and absolutely irresistible. The store is full of delightful local products like sauces, jams, and charming souvenirs to take home. During apple season, you can even pick your own apples — a beautiful and fun experience to share with your family. With plenty of parking, gorgeous scenery, and a warm, family-friendly atmosphere, Mercier Orchards is the perfect place to spend the day. Definitely a must-visit spot! 🍏✨

Mercier Orchards is a beautiful place. It is apple festival time of year in October so it was extremely busy and crowded, but it didn't stop me from getting their apple cider donuts, apple butter, and apple taffy. It was all worth it! Those donuts are delicious with some apple butter on top. It's a must stop to enjoy the scenery!

My husband and I visited Mericer Orchard for the first time and it is a must do in the area! We explored the shop which is very neat with lots to offer. We then got some goodies from the bakery including some of their hand pies, muffin, and apple fritter. All of these were delicious and if you visit you absolutely need to check out the bakery. We then went on a tractor tour and our tour guide was super kind and knowledgeable. You can get some really neat views from this tour. We ended our visit with some wine and cider tasting. If you enjoy hard cider, this is another thing you shouldn't miss! They offer and sell many delicious ciders. We will be back when in the area again.
Rachel J — Google review
Very crowded orchard! The parking situation was kind of a mess. We paid $30 for 2 of us to go apple picking which I didn’t think was bad. We went to an orchard last year in Elijay and it was way more expensive so we didn’t end up going apple picking. I will say the orchard was pretty heavily picked through but we still left with so many apples! The experience was fun and we enjoyed some apples as we walked through the trees. We stopped in the store and got a donut and a fried pie before hand. Total chaos in the store. I feel like they need a better set up for getting people through the store. The line for the bakery was so long and was kind of frustrating when we couldn’t pay there. My husband enjoyed his fried pie and my donut was pretty good but I felt lacked the apple cider flavor. The apple cider itself was really good! My husband got a sparkling cider too which was really good! Overall I would come back to this orchard.
Eva S — Google review
Beautiful orchards & fun experience picking apples. The store is huge with lots of variety, but we went during (apparently) peak season and it was PACKED. Would have loved to have been able to walk around the store and shop but the crowd was intense. Lines moved decently fast but wrapped into multiple rooms. Definitely a beautiful spot and would love to visit again in the spring!
Ashley M — Google review
🍎 A must-stop gem in Blue Ridge! Mercier Orchards is the perfect blend of charm, flavor, and fun. From the dining area, there’s a large viewing window where you can peek into the warehouse and watch the behind-the-scenes action—such a cool touch that adds to the experience. The small candy shop is nostalgic and sweet, while the bakery serves up piping hot apple pie with a scoop of ice cream that’s absolutely worth the trip alone. The main store is impressively stocked with local ciders, jams, wines, toys, and—of course—plenty of fresh-picked apples by the bag. Whether you’re shopping, snacking, or just soaking in the mountain vibes, Mercier Orchard delivers a wholesome, family-friendly outing.

Had an amazing trip on the middle river with Gracie Lee as our guide. She is energetic, fun, knowledgeable, and has such a love and passion for being a guide! She made it so enjoyable and even though I can't swim, she helped put me at ease. She was so great at her job, I wasn't scared a single time the whole trip! We all had a blast and we will definitely be back! Thanks so much RaftOne and Gracie!!

We had an awesome time rafting with RaftOne! Our guide Kaleb did an incredible job making our kids’ first rafting trip safe, fun, and exciting. He kept the whole family entertained and educated us about the river while giving us confidence on the water. We did the upper and middle sections and they did not disappoint. The lunch provided was great, and the facilities were clean and well-kept. Highly recommend RaftOne—and especially Kaleb—for an unforgettable adventure!

This was our second time coming here. We did the full rafting (upper and middle) package. Our guide Kitten was amazing! He was very knowledgeable about the area. We had a history lesson and rafting lesson in the form of a stand up comedy. There are a lot of places around that will take you rafting, but I promise you if you want to have a blast, chose Raft1!!! These folks are super passionate about what they do, and they all are hilarious. That’s what sets them above the rest.

Our family had a fantastic experience rafting the middle Ocoee river with Raft1. The number of rafters in our time slot was small (4 rafts), making the experience more personal. Our guide, Toast, tailored the experience to our level of adventure (high adventure) which we appreciated greatly! The guides added some additional activities along the way to include a water slide and waterfall hike mid trip, again adding to the unique experience that sets Raft1 apart from the other companies. Its outpost location is just upriver from the put-in making the shuttle ride brief. The souvenir t-shirt selection and Canopy Cafe provided quality options; the pizza was very tasty and made to order post-trip. I highly recommend using Raft1 for your Ocoee Rafting adventure.

Had a great time! Our guides Sage and Taylor were pros and talked us through the process to make sure we had it. Someone in our group got overwhelmed half way through and didn’t want to continue, and they were easily able to go back to the lookout and watch us. The only difference between this and other zip line places is that here you have to use your hand to stop yourself on these lines. It’s also not crazy high off of the ground for less adventurous people. 8/10 would recommend

I had an incredible experience with Outdoor Adventure Rafting! The trip was well-organized, safe, and full of excitement from start to finish. Our guide, John, made the day unforgettable. He was not only friendly and fun but also extremely knowledgeable about the area. John knew exactly where all the best spots were—pointing out cool features along the way and guiding us through the most thrilling drops with confidence. His expertise gave us both adventure and peace of mind, making the trip the perfect mix of excitement and enjoyment. Highly recommend this company, and if you can, definitely ask for John as your guide!

We had an incredible time white water rafting, and Josh made the entire experience unforgettable! His energy was amazing from start to finish—super fun, professional, and clearly experienced. You could tell he genuinely loves what he does, and it made all the difference. Josh kept our group safe while still making it a thrilling adventure. He explained everything clearly, gave us confidence on the water, and kept the vibes high the entire trip. He truly represents the company in the best way possible. If you're booking a rafting trip, ask for Josh—you won’t regret it. Highly recommend!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! We had the wonderful Jon Hall as our guide. He made sure we were very well taken care of and safe as we went down the Ocoee. He was very informative about the local fauna, landforms, and rafting skills. Jon also made sure that my friends knew EXACTLY what to do on the raft (I was the only one in my group who's been rafting before) and made the three hour long experience feel like 45 minutes with how much we were talking and joking. The staff as base camp were also VERY friendly and helpful.

Such a GREAT and FUN adventure. The staff here are so kind and high spirited. They were all so hype and super kind. A big shout out to our boat guide, Ken. He definitely made the experience 10x more entertaining and enjoyable. He took us to the fun parts of the water and made sure we got some good splashes. He offered to let us “ride the bull” and experience a fall off the boat experience on purpose. Great time for sure. Thanks to all the staff and Ken!

We had a great time rafting on the Ocoee River today with Outdoor Adventure Rafting! Our guide was John who led us on a full river rafting trip. He was an excellent guide! The tour guide gave us detailed descriptions of all of the rapids as we approached them and he gave us the choice of how difficult we wanted it to be. So he could adjust the boat to soak us or just easily pop over the rapids. He did a bunch of different things like spinning us in the boat, and showed us many different ways to handle the rapids. He did a good job building trust from the start of the trip and paid attention to each member of our party to make sure they were okay and having a good time. He clearly had the whole river memorized and expertly handled every aspect of the trip. Since we did the full river trip it included a lunch break which was great. There is not room on the boat for water bottles or anything and they would fall out if you did bring them. Since the lunch includes water and other drinks staying hydrated wasn't an issue. Highly recommend and I would do it again!

Amazing adventure! This is the second time we have been white water rafting! Our tour guide Phillip was class 5 amazing! He was knowledgeable but also great with keeping spirits up and building the bond between the boat. This company does well to create a fun and friendly environment while also ensuring all safety is a priority. We will be back and ready to take on the Olympia again! We loved the full day adventure!

I could not have had a more perfect first time rafting experience. Guide Jon Hall provided a perfect blend of humor to ease our nerves and professionalism so we understood our safety is first priority. He took great care with briefings and instructions and kept us entertained from the moment we met him. He created a magic and thrilling experience with intentional peaks and valleys. The campus was clean and organized and the staff was friendly and helpful. I am excited to book another trip!

Don’t even search for any other rafting companies on the Ocoee because OAR is hands down the best!!! Our guide was Wesley and he was great! We were always provided thorough instructions on safety and communication and they gave us ample opportunities to go for more difficult routes and what to expect. The facilities at the outpost were also clean and the staff onsite was so friendly and inviting. You could tell that all of the guides had a special bond and all enjoyed working with each other. We did the full (upper and middle section) and it did not disappoint. I will absolutely be returning soon and will request Wesley as my tour guide. Thank you OAR for an amazing first time rafting!

We went as a small group from our church in Missouri to see if this would be something we could pull off for youth camp 2026. Four leaders and six youth were on the trip. From the moment I called them, through the reservation process, the online waivers, the moment we showed up to their facility, and all the way down the river they were amazing. They were great to get us the experience we were looking for. Aaron and Dan were our guides and our youth loved them. They were personable, they engaged everyone in the raft, learned our names, and had plenty of fun with us! We will be returning with Cherokee Rafting next summer with all our youth! Thank you! From, Preacher Man

What an awesome time! Ethan, Will and Max were our guides. Couldn’t have had a better crew. High Adventure trip is a must for those that want a lot more excitement. Boats are so much more maneuverable so the guides can really personalize the trip to your excitement level. Our group had the moms that wanted to chill (poor Ethan), four teenage boys (Max) and the two dads and a daughter (most extreme-Will). We even caught a kayaker in our boat! The guides were completely professional at all times and always concerned with our safety. The rafting was a blast. Stopped at a few places along the route for snacks and some swimming and jumping from the rocks into the river. This is a must do trip with an awesome company. Saw many rafts filled with guests on the river and they all floated by with envy of our High Adventure white water trip. No more beach trips for us. We will be back!

We've been rafting with Cherokee Rafting for more than 20 years, it's always a great time! Still a family owned business, they take pride in making every trip unique. Their guides give the absolute BEST ride on the river!

I owe these guys a great review. We dragged two teenagers with us who are always negative about their mom’s big ideas. If this day had gone bad, I would be hearing about it for the rest of my life! We booked our raft trip last minute and headed to Tennessee. A big storm hit us as soon as we arrived at the river. 😳 But, our guide, Nikki was calm and kept getting us prepared. My 13yo son did not want to do this and kept repeating it as we loaded the boat in the water. But, Nikki didn’t even realize that the way she prepared us for each rapid, allowed our son to feel safe and immediately start having fun. I loved seeing his big smile behind me all the way down the river. Our kids had so much fun and were so happy we made them do this. They even said yes when I said we should do this every summer. Thanks for a great day, Nikki!

This was so much fun! Our guide Ryan was fantastic, and our kids enjoyed their guide Hunter! We appreciated the photo taken of the group. We loved the games before heading out. It was all in all a five star day! I'm definitely going to be back and sign up for the day long adventure!!

This was the best adventure we could have asked for! Our guide Ryan was hilarious and knew just how to save us when I fell out 💀. It rained the day we rafted and we thought that would spoil the fun, but it actually made it soo much better. 10/10 definitely recommend

I had a blast! The campgrounds are nice, and the bathhouse facilities are well kept and clean. The staff was so great, and The Bus Bar and Restaurant was really good, and a fun time. One of the best Bloody Mary's I've had! Shelbie, our river guide was awesome!! Absolutely knew the river and what she is doing!! I loved the historical facts about the river and the TVA dam. She definitely showed us a great time out there! I highly recommend this place, and will absolutely be back again!!

We did not stay at the campground, but we went on the river rafting trip. We did a half day trip and it was fantastic!. We had a group of four people. Our ages range from 21 to 62 and we had a fantastic time. The rapids were just enough for us. It was exciting, but we felt very safe with our guide. Highly recommend this tour. Would definitely travel with them again.

Five stars for the incredible white water rafting trip we just had! A special thank you to our guide, Trey. He was the absolute best! He struck the perfect balance between teaching us how to be safe and encouraging us to have the most fun. He was super motivating and made communication so smooth and easy, even when we were going through the rapids. He was truly awesome and made our adventure a huge success. Highly recommend!

If you’re wondering whether to go on this adventure — this is your 100% sign that you absolutely should! Our day with Adventures Unlimited turned out to be the highlight of the summer. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and excited. Everything was so well-organized — from check-in to the safety briefing — that even our first-timers felt confident and ready to go. Once we hit the water, the real fun began! The guides were amazing — friendly, knowledgeable, and hilarious. They knew exactly how to keep everyone safe while making the ride thrilling and full of laughter. The scenery along the river was absolutely breathtaking, and there were moments when we couldn’t stop smiling (and maybe screaming a little from the waves!). By the end of the trip, our whole group was soaked, happy, and already talking about when we could do it again. It wasn’t just an activity — it was an experience that brought us together, challenged us a bit, and left us with incredible memories. If you’re looking for an unforgettable outdoor adventure, don’t hesitate — go with Adventures Unlimited! You’ll have the time of your life.

We went twice this summer with Adventures Unlimited rafting. I will say that I do not plan to use a different rafting company at this time. I highly recommend Joe as a guide, he was quite entertaining but also cared about our safety. They have a great set up to truly hang out. They have a sand volleyball court, nice showers and bathrooms, camp site, and they have a restaurant that is super cool right on sight. You could go on a half day and truly make a full day just hanging out there.

Adventures Unlimited did not disappoint! All around great experience, from camping to rafting, we had the best time!! Great environment and great people! Our guide Andrew, was a BEAST! He definitely belongs on the river! He made our rafting experience fun and informative!! We will definitely be back, next time the fur babies will be tagging along!!

My first time whitewater rafting- started out nervous but I had a blast, largely due to our experienced rafting guide, Trey. He assured us he could kick it up a notch or tip the raft over if we wanted but also assured us of safety measures to take the edge off the nerves. He gave us a great ride and we are eager to come back next season with family!

What a EXCELLENT time! Coming from Georgia, we chose the Ocoee River based on the exciting level being a little higher. What a TREAT! Ray, our guide, did a wonderful job keeping us safe. The rapids were really fun! We hope to go back for the FULL day tour next summer! The check in was easy! The facilities were clean and organized. The guides were all super friendly and professional.

We did the middle Ocoee Trip. We had a group of 8 people in two boats. Our guides, Ace and Cullen, were awesome. This is a highly recommended activity. I strongly suggest going with this company. From Registration, training session, bus ride and the whitewater experience, it was GREAT.

Melody answered the phone when I called for the reservation and each time after, she was extremely kind and informative! Our raft guide was Henry, I PROMISE YOU HES THE BEST GUIDE THERE. He knew the river well and did extremely cool tricks with the raft. He was also very funny and personable which added even more to the experience. While I almost felt like I would died a couple of times Henry kept us very aware of when to do what, so even with our crazy tricks none of us fell out at all.

This was my first time whitewater rafting, and I can 100% say that I loved it! The staff there were super welcoming and friendly, and they all had a light-hearted, upbeat attitude, and definitely made the whole experience that much better! After a scenic drive to the dam where the rafting starts, we met our guide and learned our commands, and this began our trip down the river. I won't spoil the trip, because I definitely think you should do it yourself, but just know that it is definitely worth it. Also, quick shout out to some of our guides, TC Lee, Jack, and Hannah!

My thirteen year old son described this as “one of the best experiences of his life”. We decided to do a father son rafting trip after finding a heck of a deal on Groupon. We arrived at 10:30 for the 11am middle river trip. The facility was clean and organized and the staff was super friendly. You can leave your keys and phone with them, which felt safe. There were clear instructions on how to be safe on the water and were separated into groups. The drive on the bus was fun and the time it took to get unloaded and on the river was impressive. These guys run a well oiled machine. The trip itself was so much fun and I won’t review it so that I don’t take away some of the adventure. It was safe, a good amount of time, and worth every penny. You will get wet, like within the first two minutes. I also highly recommend leaving your phone, camera and anything else valuable back at the lodge or in your car. It’s very clear within few minutes that there’s a good possibility you’ll be swimming. A photographer will get some great photos that you can purchase at the end of your trip. Do yourself a favor and, buy the photos. This trip will be something my son and I talk about the rest of our lives. We’ve even decided to make this a yearly trip and we can’t thank the folks at High Country Adventures for the wonderful experience. Shout out to our guide Ricky, thanks for pulling me back in my friend!

We took a family of five and had a fantastic experience on the middle part of the river. Sydney was our guide and we could not have asked for a better person to take us down the River. She was kind, respectful, and extremely knowledgeable. I trusted her to keep our family safe, but also to give us a great time together.

This is our 4th time with High Country. The place is top-notch. The guides are always excellent. White-water fun at its fullest. We did the middle Ocoee class IV. Our two daughters ages 12 and 14 went down this river for the first time, Mr. Pink made sure to keep us safe and kept the fun rolling. We will be back agian! Our daughters haven't stopped talking about how much fun they had. They are ready for some Class Five with Pink!
