Pacific Star Winery

Winery
Food & Drink
Pacific Star Winery is a rustic establishment perched atop a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Patrons can enjoy six different wine tastings for just $5 and some of their popular blends include Orange Muscat, Dads Daily Red, and Its Fault Red and White. Visitors are advised to bring snacks to pair with their wine selections while taking in the stunning views with friends. The winery boasts delicious red wines that are worth the drive up.
My wife and I were a little hesitant about visiting Pacific Star Winery because, like many of you, we checked the reviews. We looked at the good, the bad, and everything in between. And I can say it was those 1-star reviews that really did it for us. Check 'em. You'll see a thread running through them all. But if you tell me there's a winery that discourages kids and dogs? My response is, "Shut up and take my money!" The property itself is incredible. As we turned off HWY-1 and onto the property, it took our breath away. Honestly, it doesn't seem real. Loads of parking is available. It's an easy walk to the tasting area with lots of signage that both directs you where to go, and tells you that dogs are prohibited, and kids are discouraged. The tasting area is huge with 4 service counters. The staff were all lovely, including the owner. They all happily take the time to talk about their wine and the property. When you get done with the tasting, head down to the cliffside and chill in the Adirondack chairs while watching the ocean. It's a great way to kill an afternoon and a half bottle of their Zin. That's what my wife and I did. It was made even more peaceful by the ABSENCE of little Mabel running around while Mom and Dad exercised "gentle parenting" techniques to the dismay of EVERYONE ELSE trying to relax at a winery. About the wine: Semillon - Yes, please, on a hot day with a nice cheese board on my back patio in summer. Red Sea - Good, but I got lost on the goal of this one (sorry, Pacific Star... 😬) Carignane - Really, really good with a punch of persimmon on the nose. Zinfandel - Loved it. Not overly complicated like I like my Zin. Fruit forward, easy drinker, worth the price of admission. Petit sirah - Spicy with a nice mineral element. Give it a year and it's a winner. Long review short, we absolutely loved this place. From the drive up from Mendocino, to the 360* views of the property, to the wine, to the great service, to the absence of any screaming kids with wildly irresponsible and inconsiderate parents, this is a 5-star experience. Do yourself a favor and check it out. Just leave Mabel, Maverick, and Fido at home.

We absolutely love this spot! The views are incredible. There’s lot of places to sit on the property and enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the gorgeous views. Pictures just don’t do it justice, you have to see it in person for yourself. The staff are always so friendly as well!
Sarah S — Google review
Pacific Star Winery is the most amazing winery I have ever been to. I don’t think there is better winery scenery anywhere in the world. This is my vibe. I have no words to describe how truly incredible it is. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. I wasn’t a fan of the wine selections, I’m a sweet wine person, and everything was on the dry side, but it doesn’t matter because the place is that awesome. They could have fed me the driest wine available and I would have happily consumed every sip and smiled the whole time. I can’t wait to go back!!! Pacific Star Winery is heaven at the ocean! **Pacific Star Winery made my favorite stop list.
Lady J — Google review
This afternoon we finally stopped at Pacific Star Winery, located right on Highway 1 north of Fort Bragg. I’ve driven past it many times and decided today was the day to try their wines and take in the scenery. First off, the views are spectacular—the winery sits directly on the bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and you can see why it’s one of the most photographed wineries in California. We did a tasting of five wines, starting with their Viognier and finishing with the Zinfandel. The pours were generous enough to get a good sense of each, and we enjoyed the lineup overall. Afterward, we walked around the property, which is filled with rustic touches like stacked barrels and gardens, and made our way down along the cliffs by the sea. The weather couldn’t have been better, and the coastal breeze made it a relaxing way to spend the afternoon. The photos capture some of what makes this spot special: rows of old barrels set against the coastal landscape, the winery’s gardens in full bloom, and the dramatic rocky coastline just steps from the tasting area. Pacific Star Winery is worth the stop if you’re traveling Highway 1. Even if you’re not a big wine drinker, the ocean views alone are enough reason to visit, but the wines and laid-back atmosphere make it even better.
Les D — Google review
Love the views! The property is beautiful and well cared for. The staff are lovely and warm. The wine is delicious. What else could you ask for? Perfect experience. (I am a father and pet owner; I am also happy pets are not allowed and parents are discouraged from bringing their children) Great adult experience at Pacific Star Winery!
Jeremy S — Google review
An absolutely unreal experience. One of the most beautiful views I’ve seen of the ocean AND drinking wine at the same time! Staff was so knowledgeable and kind! We did a wine tasting and all were very good. We will definitely be coming here every time we’re in the area! We bought a bottle and took it on an ocean picnic right after.

Fun times and good wine! Nice selection of varietals and easy drinking wines. Inside also has a great selection of cheeses and meats for a nice afternoon watching the waves crash on their bluff. Friendly staff, and owners, round out an overall great experience.

Drive-Thru Tree Park Leggett

Mentioned on
6 lists
Outdoor Activities
Park
Drive-Thru Tree Park is a well-known attraction located in California that features a towering redwood tree that has been present for 2,400 years. This landmark offers visitors the opportunity to drive through its large opening during summer months. It costs $10 per vehicle and requires drivers to fold their side mirrors and have expert driving skills to maneuver through the tree.
This definitely is worth a stop. The trees are beautiful and it’s hard to really understand how big these trees are without seeing them in person. I also noticed how much better the air smells around the Redwood forest. The sounds of the birds and wind blowing is really tranquil. Absolutely beautiful place. The gift shop was nice as well and the people working are nice.

A must-see landmark, but a bit pricey for what it is. Driving through the Chandelier Tree was a cool experience and definitely one of those classic roadside attractions. The tree itself is over 2,000 years old, stands 315 feet tall, and has a 21-foot diameter. It’s amazing to drive through something that ancient! That said, they do charge around $15 just to enter the park and drive through the tree, which felt a bit steep for such a quick stop. Also, once you commit to driving in, there's no way to back up or turn around easily -- so make sure your vehicle can fit comfortably. Still a unique and memorable experience if you’re in the area, just go in knowing what to expect.
Gabriel D — Google review
The drive-thru tree was really cool, and the souvenir store was interesting. All the redwood trees were SO tall. We could walk through the bushes and admire the trees. It was here when I found my first 4-leaf clover! Also, you could see the occasional banana slug under ever few rocks. :)
TPB — Google review
The Chandelier Tree in California is a massive, centuries-old coast redwood famous for its drive-through tunnel carved in 1937 into the trunk. Located in Leggett, this iconic tree stands over 300 feet tall and offers visitors a unique chance to literally drive beneath one of the world’s tallest tree species. It’s a charming roadside attraction that celebrates both nature’s grandeur and California’s classic travel history. You can visit the tree daily from 8:30 AM until sundown, except on Christmas and Thanksgiving.
Afaq J — Google review
More to this than I expected. Beautiful carvings out in the wooded areas, as big or bigger trees as we saw along the avenue of the Giants. And of course the drive through tree. Drive through for medium sized sedans and smaller. I wouldn’t take a van or big truck. Nice restrooms too. 😉
Joe G — Google review
Well.. we came.. we saw.. we broke down 💔.. luckily the staff here is amazing. They gave us contact info for a local Airbnb (Penelope at Redwood Castle) that was AMAZING.. They (Rhianne) allowed our car to stay at the park, gave us the number of the local mechanic (Mark), and even gave us rides to and from when we needed!! This was just a true blessing in disguise!! We are off to the next stop!! Special thanks to Evan at the shop for spending the time to make the repairs and even the wheel balance/rotation.
Chaz T — Google review
Y’all. I just drove through a tree. A living, breathing, 2400-year-old skyscraper of bark and glory. And I don’t mean “next to” or “under.” I mean full-blown: roll-down-the-windows, pray-your-mirrors-don’t-snap-off kinda drive-through. When we mapped out our trip to see the mighty Redwoods, this stop was non-negotiable. Required. Like brisket at a Texas wedding. Just off the 101 and nestled in the kind of forest that makes you want to grow a beard and start writing poetry, this place is equal parts roadside kitsch and natural cathedral. You ease in along a short path through towering giants — the kind of trees that whisper ancient wisdom if you listen close enough (or maybe that was just my wife reminding me not to hit the wooden bear statue with the bumper). Along the way, there’s a whole menagerie of whimsical wood carvings: bears, cougars, raccoons, and on your way out you’ll spot the elusive yeti lounging in the sun like he’s three mimosas deep on vacation. Keep your eyes peeled to the left side of the road or you’ll miss the majestic wood-carved Bigfoot pulling a full Zoolander pose among the ferns. But let’s be honest: this was all foreplay for the main event — The Chandelier Tree. Standing a staggering 315 feet tall and 21 feet in diameter, this gentle giant has had literal cars pass through its gut since before I was born. Now, I drive a full-sized truck back home, and I knew there was no way the ol’ Ram was squeezing through this barky bottleneck. But we had a rental, and let me tell you — we barely made it. I’m talking inches, folks. As in “hold-your-breath and suck-in-your-side-mirrors” tight. My wife gave me the look — that mix of love, alarm, and resignation — and we inched forward like a couple sneaking into the back row of church during the sermon. I cheered. She rolled her eyes. Nature won. At the end of the path, there’s a cozy little gift shop for those who want to grab a souvenir or magnet to prove you did something awesome with your day. We didn’t go in, but just knowing it was there felt like the cherry on top of this towering sundae of wonder. TL;DR: If you’re even remotely near Leggett, make this stop. It’s pure Americana wrapped in redwood bark. Go for the drive-through wonder, stay for the yeti sunbathing like he owns the place.
Sean L — Google review
This was a cool experience. Very short visit, but worth it. The drive in is on a very narrow road through huge redwoods and then you reach the big daddy (chandelier tree)! These trees just amaze me!

Found Shelter Cove and had picnic lunch by the car overlooking black sand beach. Not very sheltered from wind but beautiful view. Seemed like a pretty secluded place to go for a beach walk.

Just backpacked along the Lost Coast Trail. We started from black sands beach and headed north. AMAZING rugged section of the north coast. Tons of wildlife, bear tracks everywhere, snakes, bats, it was great 10/10 recommend!

The beach was incredibly beautiful, but a little scary as well. We braved the crazy drive down the road which took 45 minutes each way. I’m OK with driving a distance, but the road was very scary at times. It was a one and done thing for me. I’m glad I went to see the incredible beauty of the beach, but I won’t be returning due to the drive and the inability to go into the water and explore more.
Julie R — Google review
Magical, joyous, and absolutely worth a visit. A great spot to catch a sunset before heading back into town.
Josiah R — Google review
Beautiful beach! We spent a couple of hours here, watching the sea otters in both the small (freshwater?) pond and in the strong surf (one was enjoying a fish lunch and let us watch pretty close up). The surf is as dangerous as advertised and we only put toes in. We all enjoyed climbing the big rock, laying on the warm, smooth rocks, and walking way up and down the beach. Parking is very limited and you will have to walk down one way or another. But worth it.
Jeremy S — Google review
It's off the beaten path and will take app. 3 hrs to make the loop but you will be rewarded with magnificent views and a beautiful remote beach. When traveling north to south at the end will be a tiny road weaving thru a redwood forest, make the trip

Shrine Drive Thru Tree

Tourist information center
The Shrine Drive Thru Tree in Myers Flat is a popular tourist attraction where visitors can drive through a tunnel carved out of a massive redwood tree. This unique experience allows for memorable photo opportunities and the chance to witness one of the largest trees on the planet up close. The site holds historical significance as it was dedicated to Lady Bird Johnson when Redwood National Park was established in 1968.
MAY 2025: had a blast visiting this quaint roadside attraction. Drive the car thru a tree then hopped out to wander the grounds. The two carved tree "houses" were adorable to explore. The gift shop has a ton of cool souvenir items and the staff was lovely!
Mary R — Google review
In June 2025, we visited the Shrine Drive Thru Tree in Northern California. We went to the Shrine Drive Thru Tree in the middle of our visit to the Humboldt Redwoods State Park. It was super fun to drive through the large redwood tree. It is a tight fit with a sedan car, and my wife started to drive too close to the tree on the passenger side of the car. We backed out the car, and then I successfully drove through the tree. What an amazing experience to drive through a large redwood tree. It cost $15 for the entrance fee, and the experience was highly worth the entrance fee.
John C — Google review
Knowing it is a touristy stop, rate it foe what it is. The drive thru tree got some gasps from the kids, plus fun other trees to run up to, treehouse to get inside, impressive facts on their timeliness. Luckily they let you pay honor system after hours... i was appreciative as we were on the avenue late!
Adriana L — Google review
Gave me a thrill and a bit of a scare thinking the car wouldn’t fit but it was fine. Got my uncle to get out and take a picture for me. You can ask the car in front of you as well and most people are more than happy to do it. Cute gift shop with lots of chain saw carvings. Other little buildings and oddities there as well.
Kelly F — Google review
It is cool to see and its good to take pics. It was a little more than I thought it was worth, but if you have kids or a smaller car, you will appreciate it more. Glad we checked it out.
Dave K — Google review
Nice little spot with a fun drive-through tree—perfect for a quick photo op! The tree house here is also fantastic and worth checking out. Overall, a charming and unique experience!
Rodolfo M — Google review
This was a great stop for the kids after driving up from the San Francisco area. Well worth the price as it gave the kids a chance to get out and expend their energy. Whether or not you drive through the tree, there are other things to do. There's a small shop that also sells food. Restrooms available while shop is open.
Jay S — Google review
We paid the $15 entry fee only to decide not to take a chance to go through the tree as it would have been an extremely tight fit. It's an ok stop, with cute wood houses and a couple things to look at, but $15, even if we had driven through the tree, is too steep for this place. And they charge for additional passengers after so many. On our ten-day road trip through Oregon/California, this is the stop we could have easily skipped.

State park
Outdoor Activities
Humboldt Redwoods State Park is a vast expanse of old-growth redwoods, covering over 17,000 acres. The park offers various activities such as camping, hiking, fishing, and swimming. The Avenue of Giants provides access to numerous hiking trailheads, picnic areas, rivers, and groves. Along the avenue are small towns like Pepperwood and Myers Flat where visitors can shop for mementos or buy picnic supplies.
Humboldt Redwoods State Park is like stepping into a cathedral built by time itself. The scale of it is humbling — thousand-year-old giants towering so high you have to lean back just to catch a glimpse of the sky. Every trail feels like it’s pulling you deeper into some sacred, untouched world. Even the air hits different here — cool, heavy with the scent of earth, bark, and ancient rain. It’s the kind of place that strips the noise out of your head and reminds you how small and beautiful life really is. Whether you’re hiking, driving the Avenue of the Giants, or just standing still and breathing it all in, this park is a straight-up soul reset. Five stars isn’t enough for what this place gives you.
Richard H — Google review
In June 2025, we visited the Humboldt Redwoods State Park in Northern California. Humboldt Redwoods State Park is an amazing place. It has the Avenue of the Giants, which is a 32 mile long road that goes through the middle of the old-growth redwood forest. There are many stopping places along this road, so that visitors can exit their cars and walk around among the giant trees. The forest is peaceful and allows for moments of quiet reflection while traversing on the hiking paths. I highly recommend Humboldt Redwoods State Park, and we had a great time seeing these redwood trees.
John C — Google review
This was my first time to the west coast to see the huge trees. Just the undying beauty of something that has been present. Our first impressions of the redwoods are indescribable and the drive along the drive was so peaceful. I haven't been to the redwoods SP yet but I can't imagine it could be better.
Danette H — Google review
Humboldt Redwoods State Park is one of the most extraordinary places I have ever visited, and calling it a park hardly does it justice. It is more like a living cathedral built by nature over the course of thousands of years. Covering more than fifty thousand acres, with over seventeen thousand acres of untouched old-growth forest, it holds the largest remaining stand of ancient coast redwoods anywhere on Earth. To walk here is to walk among giants, and it is impossible not to feel both humbled and uplifted. The entrance along the Avenue of the Giants sets the tone perfectly. This thirty-two-mile scenic route winds through groves where the trees tower hundreds of feet above you, filtering light into golden shafts and cloaking the air in stillness. You can stop at any number of pullouts, but the real magic happens when you step out of the car and onto the trails. Every path here feels like stepping into a sacred space. The ground is soft with needles and ferns, streams wind quietly through the understory, and the silence is so complete it feels alive. Among the highlights is the Founders Grove, home to the fallen Dyerville Giant and some of the tallest living redwoods you will ever see. Standing beside these trees is indescribable — they are broader than houses, taller than skyscrapers, and yet their presence feels peaceful, not imposing. Nearby, the Rockefeller Forest stretches in every direction, the single largest continuous tract of old-growth redwoods in existence. Walking here is like moving through a natural cathedral, every tree a pillar, every shaft of sunlight a stained-glass window. The Eel River runs through the park, offering sandy beaches, picnic spots, and places to cool off in the summer. There are more than one hundred miles of hiking trails, from short flat walks perfect for families to backcountry treks where you may not see another soul for hours. Wildlife is everywhere if you take the time to look and listen — deer in the meadows, birds calling high in the canopy, and the rustle of small creatures moving through the undergrowth. Camping in the park is an experience that everyone should try at least once. With over two hundred family campsites and several environmental camps, you can fall asleep beneath the stars with the silhouettes of ancient trees around you and wake up to sunlight streaming through the branches. Even if you only come for the day, there are plenty of picnic areas, visitor centers with exhibits and maps, and interpretive signs that help you understand just how rare and precious these forests are. What sets Humboldt Redwoods apart is not only its scale but its soul. This is not a place designed for quick sightseeing. It is a place that invites you to slow down, to wander, to breathe, and to listen. The forest does not shout — it whispers. It teaches patience and awe. Whether you are walking with family, hiking alone, or simply stopping along the Avenue of the Giants, you will carry the memory of this place with you long after you leave. If I could give this park more than five stars, I would. Humboldt Redwoods State Park is not just one of California’s treasures; it is one of the natural wonders of the world.
Siare K — Google review
A must see on anyone’s bucket list, the majesty of these ancient trees can never be properly portrayed in photos or videos. The trails are extremely walkable. Truly an experience. Restrooms are available at the visitor center, with picnic areas and plenty of parking for both cars and camper vans.
Justin B — Google review
I will say I was probably more impressed and awe here than up in Redwood NP proper. I also never thought I would be so impressed by big erm tall trees, but here I am taking 1848488392 photos like everyone else. It was very pretty and easy going hike/walk along the path. Add it to your stop on your trip.
Tam H — Google review
Touring the Humboldt Redwood State Park was an exciting experience with Nature. The beauty of driving and walking among these gorgeous giants was breathtaking. Pictures do not capture the magnificence of these massive creations nor can words be found to truly describe.
Nancy P — Google review
Everyone should spend time with these majestic trees. It gave me hope for the future. There is such peace in the softness underfoot, the quiet cool of the understory, the glitter of filtered light. Go there and be still.

Beautiful old Victorian definitely worth seeing while in Eureka. As others have mentioned it’s a private club not accessible to the general public. UPDATE: As suggested I went by and took a photo of the Carson Mansion decorated in all its Christmas glory. Spectacular‼️🎅

Beautiful, but whoever approved that green fabric Porte-cochère did the place no favors.
Austin J — Google review
We ate the restaurant and stayed in the carriage house. The food was ok. The carriage house was nice and large and fully stocked like an Airbnb. However, I expected a lot more given the mystique and history of the place. Update: after receiving a reply below from the Ingomar, I went to the site to provide more information. Alas, there is no place to provide feedback. 🤔 The biggest surprise to me was how empty the restaurant was. In a fairly large dining room, there was just one other couple eating and we were seated right next to them. That and a large projector/screen system playing the football game. It just seemed like we were in the wrong place. There were other little things that didn't measure up to what I always heard about. Not necessarily bad, just didn't meet my expectations.

It's the Carson mansion but you can't access it as it's members only so you can only view the exterior
Debbie V — Google review
It's a beautiful building. When are the crown jewels of eureka. Private club and they will chase you off.If you even try to look into the windows. It looms as a very unfriendly, one percenter location

Sue-meg State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
Sue-Meg State Park, formerly known as Patricks Point State Park, is a picturesque oceanside park located in the heart of the California redwood coast. The park offers tidepools, campgrounds, a visitor center, and a Yurok plank house for visitors to explore. It provides well-maintained trails that lead through lush forests with changing seasonal colors and scents. Visitors can enjoy whale watching, observe sea lions, and witness beautiful sunsets along the rugged Northern Coast.
Formerly Patrick’s Point State Park, they recently changed the name but everything else is the same. Been coming here since the 90’s: this small state park is very special and unique. Being on the coast it doesn’t have the redwoods like Prarie Creek to the north or Humboldt to the south but it is gorgeous nonetheless. Hunting for agates and rocks on Agate beach is amazing, the coast trail is relatively easy and not super long but there’s a lot of side trails to explore. Wedding rock is picturesque and the cliffs are very rugged and awe inspiring. Honestly I’ve never seen tide pools here but they say they have em. We spend most of our time hiking or at Agate beach. This year we saw a bald eagle. The campgrounds are hard to score and have mixed reviews. We stayed in abalone campground this time and found it nicer and more private than the others, you could hear the ocean waves crashing all night which was cool. It can be cold and foggy here so dress appropriately, but that’s part of the charm.
Davoud K — Google review
The park is quite lovely and we have made it a new annual tradition to camp here. The individual campsites vary widely, from open and airy to closed off and secluded. The Sue-meg village tour is very worth checking out. Staff is always friendly as well.
Brian B — Google review
Beautiful Park. We did not have enough time to spend there. We were only there a few hours but it was so beautiful. A short walk down a nature trail to the beach.
Jeremy S — Google review
This is one of the parks you have to pay to get into...$8.00...and it is worth every penny. We trekked down the hill to Agate Beach, where, if you choose, you can take up to 15 pounds of Agates with you...we did not. Even though we were there when the tide was fairly high we still got to enjoy some tidepools with starfish and anemones. There are many trails available and beautiful viewpoints throughout the park. We really enjoyed our visit.
Debbie D — Google review
My favorite state park on the coast! The ceremony rock was so unexpectedly magical. I’ve stayed at both abalone and agate campground. I preferred abalone. Agate beach was phenomenal. I love all the outcroppings & over looks. Super walkable. The raccoons are WAYYY to friendly and not at all scared of ppl. We had several in the trees around us each night & we’re very tenacious trying to sneak into camp.
Lauryn C — Google review
the staff at the front entrance were super nice. the whole park seems well maintained and has so many pretty spots to check out, like Agate Beach and Wedding Rock. we hope we can come camping here again in the future as it felt so peaceful. it was $8 to enter, cash or card accepted

So beautiful and peaceful. The staff were friendly and informative. The showers and bathrooms were very clean and well stocked. My new favorite place!

The campsites have to be reserved ahead of time. They are beautiful and secluded with lots of space. Each campsite comes with a picnic table, metal, fire, pit, bear safe food storage, and running water. You can hear the ocean from the park and it’s quite an incredible and magical experience .

Park
Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, located north of Ferndale, is a vast park known for its 75 miles of trails, campgrounds, and a visitor center nestled among ancient redwoods. The park is home to the famous Roosevelt Elk and Fern Canyon, which was featured in 'The Lost World: Jurassic Park.'
Amazing camping spot and hiking spot. Booked it just for Fern Canyon and it didn't disappoint. Went twice just to see what we missed. Was worth it both times. The first time we went hiking not too many people the second time, more than before. Be prepared for the cold water. Bring boots if you go in the winter and spring months. Summer months probably less water, but I'd still bring them.
Kali K — Google review
It really ranks as one of the best state parks you will ever visit. Where else can you possibly see giant elk on the beach next to ocean waves. Fern canyon is a once in a lifetime experience. Plus, giant redwoods on a scenic drive. It has a wonderful combination of views, drives, trails, and wildlife. Overall, the best stops in the greater Redwood park system.
Wyatt P — Google review
This park has so much to offer. From camping to hiking to wildlife viewing it's all right here. I've been visiting here for over 40 years. The staff at the information center can help you find the best activity to match your interests. But I'd recommend Trillium Falls or a hike along the trails adjacent to the Drury Parkway to get a taste. If you want more, and have the time, hike or drive to Fern Canyon. Personally, I like to hike the James Irvine Trail to get there. The trail will take you through some majestic and ancient groves of redwoods. The Elk Prairie campground is a good place to camp. Some of the facilities are a bit old. But the location is hard to beat. You'll likely see Roosevelt Elk in the prairie meadow. Give them plenty of space. Particularly during calving season (May-June) they can be aggressive.
Tino P — Google review
Great park! The information center when you first arrive is extremely helpful. Parking can be tight at some of the trails but parking along the main road has plenty of space. Big Tree wayside was my favorite. There's a good number of people at the beginning of the trail but once you start walking more than 10 minutes you're by yourself. Its absolutely gorgeous.
Austin — Google review
Gorgeous. Went today. Big Tree trail was fabulous, following the creek, falling leaves everywhere, ferns everywhere, so much moss and greenery. Thick forest that provided shelter from the rain. The air was damp and cool and smelled lovely. Exactly as I imagined the redwoods would be. Saw Bear scat but no bears.
Melissa — Google review
Beautiful area up north with plenty of campgrounds and things to do. The air is so clean you can taste it. Everyone is so friendly and the campground was fantastic! Its a long drive but on US 101 it was a beautiful drive with VERY LITTLE TRAFFIC. I have made this an annual trip.
Ben W — Google review
Wow so beautiful the trail was easy with a few obstacles one of the best hikes we have been on in the redwoods kid friendly five finger ferns waterfalls on moss. We saw elk just walking out of the parking lot at the beach. You do need a permit easy on line to get.
Tracie B — Google review
Amazing park. The small visitor center staffed with experts and park lovers really made this place shine. The ranger working the desk was very helpful in suggesting trails that would maximize our enjoyment based on our own perceived fitness and hiking level. The trails themselves were filled with the awesome inspiring redwoods - the air was so fresh I felt younger by the minute and absolutely giddy while taking in the enormity of these trees. The trail maintenance is amazing - I think you could almost take a wheelchair on many of these trails - so smooth. Watching a YouTube is one thing but being here is a full experience. You hear the wind rushing through the leaves, smell the fresh air, see the trees and the wildlife, feel the breeze - its a sensory experience, almost overload but in a good way. Highly recommend

Redwood National and State Parks is a vast woodland system that houses some of the largest and tallest trees on earth. The parks offer numerous opportunities to explore ancient forests, as well as the wild coastlines of northern California. With 73 discovery points, visitors can embark on short hikes through the redwood forest to witness remarkable sights such as the Grove of Titans and Bull Creek Flats. Adventure seekers can enjoy dirt roads and scenic routes through Humboldt and Mendocino backcountry.
Such a unique park with so many things to see and do aside from the big trees! The area/park is huge! Runs for over an hour north and south. Plan for a couple days! Get your reservations for the two timed reservation area of the fern canyon and tall trees! Drive around the area! Go to the scenic view points! Go to the beaches! Walk among the trees! Eat and stay at the nearby towns! Visit all the visitor centers! Take it all in! It’s one of the best parks out there!

This is a must see for all families and anyone who appreciates the outdoors. It's amazing to see these giants reaching into the sky. Some of the bases are well over 10 ft wide. Let's hope the next several generations will be able to visit and enjoy this, instead of it being harvested or die from pollution.

Some huge Redwood trees located in this forest. Only seen in California to Washington. Worth taking a drive there if you are going through the area. Thousands of them in this area. Enjoy the big ones that take 40+ years to get that size.

One of the best hiking and camping trips I’ve done. Photos don’t do justice to how monstrous these trees truly are in person. You feel like you’re walking through a real Jurassic Park. Truly amazing. Mother Nature is astonishing.

The park was great and beyond my wildest imagination. We got there a bit late in the day was a long drive up from San Francisco, but drive up was surrounded by natural beauty and redwoods. We found a cute little hotel to stay up nearby and went down the avenue of the Giants. Overall, we had a wonderful experience.

Definitely worth visiting, 2 days will allow you to see the highlights of the park. All the visitors centers have friendly staff. Fern canyon was well worth seeing. Depending on when you go you do need a reservation for this. The views are breathtaking and it’s amazing to see all the redwoods. Scenic routes are a must for this national park and well worth your time.

The Klamath Tour Thru Tree is a popular tourist attraction located at the northern end of Redwood County. It features a massive redwood tree with a drive-thru tunnel carved out of its trunk, allowing visitors to experience driving through the tree. Despite being scarred by a forest fire and losing its top to a storm, the tree stands as a living monument to its storied past.
The excitement of being to drive your truck through a tree is amazing. I do wish there was information about height, and width and age of tree. I love that it still survives. Another tree history picture I'll attach.
Lorna M — Google review
We were so happy to have found a thru tree! Signs were clearly marked from the highway all the way to the tree. The gift shop was closed when we arrived. We were pulling a trailer so we parked at the bottom. There was not anyone around, we donated our dollar and continued up the hill. Some people would think it is a bit steep but- just do it!! Thanks to the owners of this private property to allow the public to continue doing this! It’s unfortunate some people do not have any respect and decided to carve their names into the tree.
Samantha L — Google review
Super laid-back experience. Maybe we had good timing because when we arrived, there was no line to pay to drive in. Sign said "$5.00 admission fee. We've stepped away for a moment. Just drop $5 in the box. We trust you." One curve, then a Y-turn to position our vehicle to drive through the tree... Snap some photos and we were on our way a few minutes later.
Golden P — Google review
We were driving down the 101 and decided to visit really quick. There was no wait. Paid $5. It is a smaller tree. So Bigger trucks and SUV’s might not fit. All in all it took us like 10 minutes total, we took some photos and were on the road fairly quick again. Nice and maintained.
Eric L — Google review
Way cool. A small car can drive through the tree. On the up hill side, look up your under a Myrtle Wood tree. Definitely worth while.
Randall H — Google review
I have always wanted to drive through a tree! When you arrive you pay the $5 entrence fee (cash only) and drive right in. The road is a bit narrow so go slow in case there is another car coming down. If you have a car bigger than a Honda Civic I would not recommend it since our mirrors were almost touching the sides.
Ruth I — Google review
I thought this was a bit corny until I actually did it. Actually driving through this thing is testament on how enormous they actually are. It does make you nervous - your mirrors are going to give before that tree - but I watched a Denali try to come through. He would have made it, just, but he pulled back at the last. I don't blame him. We have a Jeep Compass - I was sweating bullets but my wife, who was taking the photo, said I had plenty of room on either side. Didn't feel like it. Must have been though because she demanded I take another turn through with her in the car. I did.
Anthony P — Google review
Great find! We enjoyed this stop to drive thru a redwood tree. Be sure your vehicle fits first, we saw a full size SUV fail. Great photo op. Please pay attention to the entrance information and pay the $5 admission fee. This is private property. I'm sure it costs to keep it looking beautiful. We saw two vehicles drive up and fail to pay. Loved this stop! ❤️

The Trees of Mystery is a captivating tourist attraction located along -101 in Northern California. It boasts massive statues of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox, making it hard to miss from the highway. Visitors can explore the Trail of Tall Tales, featuring chainsaw-cut figures accompanied by recorded stories, set against towering redwoods. The attraction also offers a SkyTrail gondola ride through the treetop canopy, various trails including one that allows walking along a canopy, and unique tree formations.
I really love this place. First it’s really clean, bathrooms , trails, every place is tidy. The views of the redwoods in my opinion is better here than any of the other national and state parks. The price is great for everything you get. This is a gold mine of experience. They have a fun skywalk and gondolas. Also they have fun facts about the park throughout. Don’t hesitate, just come visit.
David S — Google review
The Trees of Mystery in Klamath is the perfect place to experience the Redwoods if you or your loved ones are not able to hike the area. Whether due a physical challenge, logistical confusion, or financial impediment. The trail is easy, the stairs and steeper areas are only a few steps in length so it's an easy breezy "walk in a park". The rope bridges are a cool engineering feat. Crossing them requires some faith in math, science, and good workmanship. The height of the bridges can feel dizzying, but what a rush - taking that first step on to a suspended rope bridge, then putting one foot in front of the other and making your way from one side to the other. I drove a long way for that and couldn't be happier that I did. I was a little skeptical about spending money for a "Tree Park" when there are miles and miles of Redwood forest surrounding you in that area of the area/state/continent/world. But I had visited when I was a kid in the late 70s. I was thrilled to get a GIANT yellow "TREES OF MYSTERY" sticker. I thought it was so cool but I couldn't tell you why! I took it with me as our family moved all over the world. For years it decorated my bedroom pushpin wallboard, and I remembered the giant Babe and Paul carvings. But the park didn't have the rope trail or the gondolas when I last visited and the tickets were SUPER reasonable. Almost like they WANT to teach people about the redwoods not just profit from it. So I had to go back and see how the old park was doing. It was worth every dollar. The price included the short gondola ride up the hillside AND the rope tree trail section. The gondola windows are pretty old and weathered so they're pretty difficult to see out, but you do get to go to a tree top deck. There are amazing views of the tree tops the hillside, and the ocean - and a great perspective on just how super-tall these trees grow. Don't leave without going into the gift shop and checking out the Native American history/anthropology museum. It's an enormous collection. Many items that I've never seen before. Building tools, household items, clothing, hunting equipment...a great way to immerse yourself in what life might have been like for long ago inhabitants of the coastal forest area. I took waaasy too long picking out another ridiculous looking sticker from the gift shop but my campervan has a little sticker wall and it seemed like something I had to do. If you've got an hour or two, take the time to stop here!! I planned my road trip around it.... WHAT CAN I SAY? I'M A FAN!
Julie L — Google review
Spent several hours wandering around this amazing property. The trees do not disappoint. The sky bridge was great, made me a little dizzy but definitely worth it. The tram offered good views. I would reccomend taking it back down rather than the mile long hike as it was very steep and slippery. Don't skip the museum, the amount and types of artifacts is definitely worth the time.
Abbey B — Google review
Fun Place. The sky tram was closed, but the tree canopy trail was super fun. Lots of cool trees and carved wood figures throughout the park. The giant Paul Bunyan and Babe the blue Ox were awesome. Cool place overall. Fun experience.
Eric L — Google review
We loved our time at Trees of Mystery! The $30 pp seemed steep, but it really includes everything in the park and you can stay as long as you’d like. We saw pretty much everything in a couple hours, including the gondola and bridges. We loved the stories and history on the trees, and the Paul Bunyan carvings were fun. Lots of photo ops and I’d say very kid friendly. I appreciate that we didn’t have to sit in the gondola with strangers and just enjoyed it by ourselves. Huge beautiful old trees to appreciate. It wasn’t too busy on a Monday morning.
Hannah T — Google review
As a family we have passed by too many times to count, usually stopping for a photo op with Paul Bunyan & Babe. On this pass we decided to stop and finally do the Trees of Mystery and we are so glad we did! It was pouring rain when we arrived then stopped abruptly and stayed at bay until we finished our tour, it was our lucky day! The trail through the forest is absolutely stunning and will take your breath away so many times! The Canopy Trail, up in the trees and across rope bridges was a special experience and completely unexpected! We stood on each platform and just marveled at the views and the forest below. There's also a little nature center to learn more, several special trees including the Brotherhood tree and Cathedral tree with most everything labeled nicely with some also having a bit of the history. The Skytrail gondola ride leads to breathtaking views and the opportunity for a rougher hike for the adventurous! Then, just when we thought we were done, the carved sculptures started and kept us giggling all the way to the end! This tour is a must for anybody passing by!
Cindy P — Google review
Great time, loved the gondola and sky walk. Interesting info. Nice walk through forested areas, nice little shop that had decent prices. Overall was very enjoyable. Would recommend it.
Krystol W — Google review
There is so many wonderful things to do as a a family here. There is the sky walk , interpretive trails, and the sky trail ride that takes you to the top of the mountain for a spectacular view of the area. The walk through the attraction is mostly uphill but offered seating areas to rest. If you are wheelchair-bound or have severe mobility issues I do not recommend the trail through, however they do have a shuttle that will take you to the sky Trail so you can still enjoy some of the attractions. It took us about an hour and a half to get through . It was really fun and we would go again.

Photos just can’t do it justice. This was one of our favorite hikes on our family trip to the Redwoods State and National Parks - the trees were incredible, and the path was easy and level — perfect for families with littles, seniors, or those needing to take it easy. Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, part of the Redwood National and State Parks system, is a haven for nature enthusiasts. The park boasts dense groves of ancient redwoods and offers over 20 miles of scenic trails for exploration. Visitors can also enjoy camping facilities with cozy cabins. This state park, located an hour's drive north of the National Park along U.S., provides an excellent introduction to the majestic forests.
This park is beautiful. This is where you can see really big trees. There's very few places these days with trees that big. The campsites fill quickly make sure to reserve. Easy access to the river shallow water that you can sit in or fish

Absolutely beautiful and a must-see. True wonder of nature! We went and walked on the Grove of Titans trail, which is about two miles total. They ask that you stay on the trail (because your footsteps can damage the forest floor) and there are some raised metal walkways because of this. Though there’s a lot of roads and trails, it’s still a good idea to be prepared. There are countless areas where there’s no service, roads are dirt and are extremely narrow (but there are turnouts/shoulder areas where you can pass). BRING WATER AND SNACKS! It costs $8 per car if you park within fee areas. The parking lot by the Grove of Titans trailhead was free, and there’s a restroom there as well. Absolutely amazing. Even within five minutes of our hike, a deer walked across the pathway. Didn’t seem to mind humans. It’s worth a visit! Also, if you get the chance, visit the Smith River — the water looks like glass.

Absolutely surreal and euphoric! Walking among these ancient redwoods feels like stepping into another world. The towering trees, peaceful trails, and crystal clear Smith River make it a truly magical experience. Far less crowded than other parks; pure bliss.

Amazing in every way. I recommend doing the Boy Scout Tree trail first. It’s the longest, but well worth it. The trail has tons of roots and hiking boots would be preferable. The Boy Scout tree is easy to miss since it is off the trail. It’s on the right side of the trail before you get to the waterfall.
Siegfried N — Google review
Lovely park. Great walking trails. Clean park and friendly checkin at the kiosk. It loses a star because the bathrooms and showers are gross. Shower takes 4 quarters for 2 min. of water. There is no change machine like there is at other State parks. The drain was clogged/slow and water filled up the entire changing area. Very muddy and dirty showers and bathroom stalls.
Julie G — Google review
The drive into the park on Howland Hill Road, right up close and through the redwoods, is one of the best forest drives that exists. It becomes one lane at times, meaning you will need to coordinate if other cars are coming, but it is worth it as it is as it is close to the trees as you will ever get in car and helps preserves the immensity of the forest around you. Visit the park as early as possible to avoid seeing other cars and hikers. We went right at sunup and were one of the only ones there. We hiked the Grove of the Titans and Stout Grove and it is impossible to explain how amazing these old growth redwoods are to someone who hasn't seen them. Pictures can't really do them justice as they can't capture the feeling they invoke when you are really confronted with how massive they are. The park is well kept and the hikes we did were well marked and very peaceful in the early morning. The trails and drive out did get much busier with people and cars as the morning wore on. I thought the additions of the metal platforms and bridges on some of the trails was useful and did not take away from the surrounding nature. If they help preserve the undergrowth, I'm all for them. All in all, a great park to see the redwoods which should be on everyone's list of things to do.
Michael M — Google review
Must see! Truly one of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever been. The Redwoods are absolutely massive, and no photo can capture how incredible they are in person.

My mother and I visited in December, where we lucked out all week with little to no rain. This forest was the most magical I'd ever been in. Highly suggest entering off of Howland Hill Rd in the early morning. We were the only ones around for miles and the misty morning made us think we had entered another realm. I think about this day quite often and can't wait to take my daughter and husband one day.

Alfred A. Loeb State Park is a beautiful park known for its stunning myrtlewood trees and offers various outdoor activities such as fishing, swimming, and rafting on the Chetco River. The park is home to the northernmost grove and is located within the Siskiyou National Forest.
Amazing views!! The drive there, alone, was breathtaking. The showers are the best part after a really long hike. There is water there! There is power here. You can apparently get spaces up to 2 weeks. After that, you have to wait 3 days to camp there again. They are dog friendly, too! The toilets DO get backed up, so DON'T flush extra things in there. For the sake of everyone else 🙄 there are firepits and picnic tables with plenty of room for your dog or kids. It's quiet, and everyone is friendly and keeps to themselves. I absolutely loved it here. Especially because it's next to the river and close to the botanical garden.

Gorgeous surrounding area with clean, more private feeling tent sites. Check in/out was a breeze. Felt very safe and comfortable throughout our stay and will be returning as soon as possible. Internet/service is a little spotty, as the campsite is in the sticks. River was warm, calm, and fairly shallow.

Fantastic camp spot for smaller rvs. I am in love with it & will definitely be back for more. My husband & I hiked along the Chetco, walked through the redwoods & enjoyed the scenic beaches. So quiet, especially on week days.
Elyse D — Google review
Perfection. Quiet campground, I swear everyone was asleep by 9pm. 😆 Chetco river is beautiful, shallow and WARM! Great for swimming or kayaking around a bit.The restrooms are as clean I've seen at campgrounds with flushable toilets. Showers are clean and water temp was fine. Not cold. Firewood is sold by camp host. Kid friendly and dogs are welcome. At night the only sounds I could hear was a hoot owl. We will make this our annual trip. Trails along the river lead to the Redwood trail. You won't be disappointed. Just a short drive to the coast and Samuel H Boardman state scenic corridor. Close enough to Hike to Secret beach and kayaking back at camp.

My dogs birthday was 4/20 and we drove down to Brookings from Washington to camp with his sister another pup and it was the most relaxing experience.
Lynda S — Google review
An absolutely beautiful little park right on the river with access to the Rocky Beach and a short hiking trail. Most dog owners are entitled here and do not follow the leash requirement in this place (even more than usual), unfortunately. The campground is lovely too.
Michelle N — Google review
Great day camping area with picnic tables separated by bushes. The toilets are very clean. You can drive out to the river. It’s all ricks—be careful. The blackberries are in season so there’s lots to pick. The trip from Brookings is beautiful. We saw Black Tailed Deer crossing the road. Take a picnic with you since you can eat by the river—bring chairs. Dogs love to go in the river.

Great Cats World Park

Wildlife park
Nature & Parks
10-acre park housing exotic wild cats (including lions, tigers & leopards) & offering guided tours.
me and my partner decided to stop here on a whim after our trip to another nearby animal sanctuary. and wow we were blown away, the staff here was knowledgeable- and answered any questions we had on the cats. and the animals all looked super healthy and well cared for. this was honestly the highlight of our trip.
Rebecca D — Google review
This was a fantastic experience! Super informative, the cats were all very active and the tour guides were very fun, knowledgeable and you knew they loved their work. Also great because you can jump in and out of the tours at any time. We stop at most attractions we see on the road and this was a 10/10 for us. Our boys are 6 and 4. They both enjoyed it ,too!
Michelle S — Google review
Remarkable and one of a kind place. Staff are friendly and respectful. Staff are knowledgeable and admission comes with a free guided tour! As you are guided, they throw treats and the animals usually become more active and you can see them feet away from you and its crazy. Some of these animals only exist in captivity now or are severely endangered. Come see them and support! Gift shop is also awesome and this place is super kid friendly for the family!
Louis V — Google review
Didn’t realize there are tours- there was a note on website about getting to park a few hours before close and the tour is the reason why. The tour was great taking you through the park providing information and taking any questions on each cat that is on exhibit. By taking the tour you should be able to view each animal up and walking because they are provided food. Without the tour most cats would be sleeping in their favorite shade spot. No added cost for tour. My only concern is the larger cats may not have the amount of room a zoo would provide. All the animals appear to be healthy. Plenty of shade and water misters provided for both animal and tourist. Plenty of parking and a large gift shop.
Paul P — Google review
Decided to visit Cat world. Staff was very friendly. Very clean. Cats looked healthy and had plenty of room. Well maintained grounds. Small gift shop. We did self guided tours. Also available is tours with no extra cost. Tour length is 1.5 hours. Definitely would recommend if you are in the area. Not a bad price. Great for kids.
Michelle S — Google review
We so enjoyed seeing all the beautiful cats. The chance to be so much closer to them is an amazing experience. You can tell they are loved & cared for. What a treat!!! Also the shade system & benches provided for the people, is just a blessing!!! Thank you!!!

Oregon Caves National Monument & Preserve

Mentioned on
1 list
National reserve
Nature & Parks
Oregon Caves National Monument & Preserve is a fascinating destination for those interested in geology and outdoor exploration. The caves are composed of intricate marble formations, which create huge underground caverns that can be explored through guided tours. The tour lasts about an hour and a half, during which visitors can witness unique calcite formations and learn from knowledgeable guides. It's important to bring warm clothing during the tour as the temperature inside the cave is around 44 degrees Fahrenheit.
Such an amazing experience. Specially in the heat of the summer. I went in with just a t-shirt. It felt amazing. I do recommend a long sleeve shirt. But a sweeter or jacket is not necessary. You will get warm just moving through the cave. Me and my queen went with no kids. Nice get away. We will definitely be back with all 4 of the regrets. Also made our way up above the tour and found the cave with a sign in sheet. I suggest having a flash light for that ine. Or phone light. Its about 12' in and takes a right down to the container that has the sign sheet. See the photos.

This is an awesome find and I highly recommend going. You'll probably won't see anything like it in your life and it's a very humbling experience to go through, I'm very grateful it's even a tour, and the kids liked it also! It was a mile hike underground but they did awesome and it wasn't really too cold like we expected
Levi W — Google review
We have a great time here. The cave tour is really cool and worth the money. The guide for our tour was friendly, knowledgeable and did a great job. The tour group was small enough that everyone could easily see and hear the guide. The tour is 90 minutes and has a lot of walking on uneven surfaces and up quite a few stairs. This is not for small children or anyone with walking difficulties. The different formations and features are awesome to see up close. I would recommend an appointment but they also save quite a few spots for same day walk in. We will definitely go back some time.
Jeremy — Google review
Absolutely amazing experience! The caves are surreal with twisting marble formations, hidden chambers, and fascinating geology. The park rangers were incredibly knowledgeable and brought the whole underground journey to life with their passion and storytelling. The drive to the monument is stunning, winding through lush forested hills. It’s a bit of a trek to get there, but 100% worth it even if you're coming from hours away. Pro tip: Arrive early! The visitor center opens at 8:30 AM, but you’ll want to be there by 7:45 AM to get in line for tour tickets. Tours are limited and often sell out fast, especially in summer. If you’re in southern Oregon, don’t skip this. It’s a true hidden gem and a perfect mix of nature, science, and awe.
Justin W — Google review
Aug 2025 My 3rd time here 1st time for my wife. I told her it was a nice level walk! I guess my memory sucks (it had been 25 years since the last tour). There are plenty of stairs and steps! She still loved the tour, and still loves me though. Awesome cave. Our guide showed us a device for recording bats flying through. Therefore the Bat Phone really does exist! The cool colors in some of the photos are a trick the phone did. There is a combinations of LED and incandescent lights that plays hell with the white balance. Actual colors are cave gray as in the other images.
Dan C — Google review
We had the best time on our guided tour through the caves. Our tour guide was very pleasant and gave usany fun facts about the caves. The drive up to the caves is windy but not too long. Make sure to pack a sweater as the caves are very cold even though it was 90° outside of them.
Tiffany G — Google review
One of the best cave tours I’ve done in a long time. The park Rangers were very knowledgeable and the hike was really fun. You do walk up a lot of steps and you have to duck under some rock formations, but it’s a really great experience.

I went to Red Lily Vineyards during the summer, and it was an amazing experience! The whole venue was absolutely breathtaking. You can enjoy your wine by the river, or walk through the beautifully kept gardens. It was pet and family friendly, and absolutely stunning. The staff is amazing, and it’s definitely worth visiting.
Haley W — Google review
Visited from Colorado for a large event taking place all week. Our group booked out the back part of the venue. We went to a different winery every night for the week and this was my favorite. Beautiful location, on the water. They have live music on certain days of the week. The only issue was the service time. Don't think they had enough staff for the large group that was there, so people were standing in line to order for a while. Other than that, loved it.
Annette O — Google review
This place came highly recommended from a friend of ours who lives in the area. A lovey place to sip on wine. They have ample seating outside and near the creek. We enjoyed several wine flights. The sandwich of the day was delicious. This was a fun stop
Steve M — Google review
It is a beautiful location, just gorgeous, with a wonderful seating area right by the river. The wines are delicious, the food is very good. Basically, it is the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon sipping rosé, and the kids can just play with rocks by the river. There is a lot of room to accommodate bigger groups, and the scenery is really top notch. So peaceful. Now also with live music on Thursdays.
Krister A — Google review
The atmosphere was great! The barn, crystal clear creek in the grounds, and options were enjoyable. The wine wasn't excellent in our group's opinion, but it was priced a little lower and if you enjoyed one, it was a good value. Felt built more for events and hanging out than high end wine. We still had a great time!
Steven M — Google review
Such a great spot. Beautiful grounds right on the creek and an excellent assortment of very tasty on the spot made wines. The food was charcuterie style, but the spinach artichoke dip we had with our drinks was phenomenal. They encourage picnicking on the grounds as well. I was told they even have live music and food trucks on certain days. I would definitely go again, it was worth the drive....10/10
Chadd F — Google review
This winery is fantastic! The wines are scrumptious, from the port to the white wines. The fig jam is insanely good, the charcuterie is to die for, and the coconut soup is a rare treat. It's just a wonderful winery. The staff are gracious and charming. They also sell cute kitschy items and we wanted one of everything! They have both inside and outside seating plus seating down by the river. Masks no longer required!!

What a fun thing to do so close to home! This course is really well thought out and being one of only a very few ADA accessible zip lines in the country makes it really cool. The views from each of the course lines are awesome and you really feel the sense of adventure out in the mountains of Gold Hill. Our guides Cam and Beau were a blast! They were friendly, goofy, and had lots of really interesting facts about the area. They took our safety and comfort very seriously and were constantly checking in with everyone in the group making sure everyone was having fun and feeling safe. It does get toasty in the summer months so plan accordingly. This is something I will definitely do again, but with the rafting and wine tasting package bundled in. Absolutely worth the time and money for a great time!

Absolutely the best memories were made on our zip tour! Everything from the start to finish. Our guides were the BEST, so professional but yet so fun! They made sure the zips felt safe and thrilling all at the same time! My daughter even got the "Extended Tour" but she absolutely loved it and probably could of hung out there all day long 😅 my only idea, woild be to offer a punch card of some sort for us locals 😉 we will definitely be going again, See ya again soon Rogue Zipline!

Loved loved loved everything about my first zip line experience. Our 2 guides cliffhanger and the specimen were absolutely wonderful, I was terrified but they both did very well at staying calm, controlled, and super comforting. How they praised every person after every ride was something more people should aspire to be. I felt safe, secure, and trusting of both of these guys! I’d love to return again. Bubba will zip line again ❤️

We celebrated my friend's 40th birthday here! Everyone had a fantastic time with many belly laughs along the way. Cliffhanger and Toothfairy are the best guides!! We loved that it was so informative. You're seeing the ones who are hurt physically and /or by having human interaction where they come to rely on humans. The saff are out and about, so you can easily ask questions. I was very happy to see a school field trip arrive . I would recommend this for everyone.

Wildlife Images does an amazing job of keeping the animals taken care of. The enclosures are clean and you can tell are maintained by staff that care about the animals and the work they do. Our absolute favorite tenant there was Gilbert the 1 year old Grizzly Bear. He was the absolute sweetest bear, and loved to be watched by the humans. We walk away to see the other animals, and then we would come back and say his name and he would come running to say hi. He showed us his toys and how he can climb trees. He played and splashed in his water pool and loved his giant green kong toy. The birds were just as cool to look at and there was the silkiest badger making all kinds of noises at us. Probably telling us to get lost and stop staring at her. Lol. Overall it was a great day, and Wildlife images we will definitely be back!

Wonderful rehabilitation center that makes a positive impact on the area's wildlife 💚 There's tons of information posted around the park, showing their incredible work. If you hang around long enough, you will see the handlers feeding and interacting with the animals. I was lucky to see some of the wolves & caretakers playing chase during feeding time. Go visit the variety of animals & support this place! 💚

River Rafting & Tubing
Orange Torpedo Trips Rogue River has been a staple for adventure seekers, offering exhilarating whitewater rafting experiences on the Rogue River and other stunning Southern Oregon rivers for over 50 years. Their trips are well-organized from start to finish, ensuring that guests have an unforgettable experience. While there may be occasional communication hiccups regarding group sizes, the dedicated guides rise to the occasion, providing exceptional support and camaraderie among rafters.
Absolutely amazing family vacation. Some of the best views and company ever. JP, Matt, Artesia and Camilla were the best. The food was amazing and Artesia got us the best camp sites. Can’t recommend them enough for the 4 day Rogue trip!!
Lila Y — Google review
Super experienced outfitter that knows the Rogue forward and back, in and out. Why? We were w 2 veteran-status guides who could do this blindfolded, hands tied, and spun around 20 times, Hunter & Ben. Everything felt in control, they made all the logistics work w/o any need for us to even think, and ensured everyone in the party had shared experiences in the paddle raft, inflatable kayak, and in the water. Both are middle school teachers and you can tell based on their listening and desire to contribute and have their “students” (us) get as much as we wanted out of it. Guides were great. Itinerary. 3 days lodge based Rogue, about 40 miles (Strava’d mileage), w mix of class 2-4 rapids. Lots of mixed speed stuff throughout: rapid, then calm water, then rapid, then calm. We had 2 kids (10, 14) + 1 adult in the raft and had enough horsepower to get us thru. Nights were at lodges. The one at BlackBar was def welcome over a tent, but was hot and pretty basic (I liked it as having a touch of simplicity was welcome). 2nd night was at Paradise and it basically is that, esp after the first place. New fresh wood, clean, bugless, electricity whenever u need, cabin had full private bathroom and 3 beds (2 singles + 1 Queen). Great experience for families. Would def use Orange Torpedo again. Only change we might make for the next adventure is the river, where we may search for higher class, more technically demanding and fewer still-water bits. Or maybe do an inflatable kayak trip - it was so fun and liberating! But the guides were tops, wouldn’t change at all, and their students are lucky to have them.

I have rafted with many different companies around the country, and this is without doubt the best. We did a 6 day row your own with them on the Main Salmon in mid June as we didn’t get a permit. Erik was incredibly accommodating with all the logistics (we rented rafts from them as well), always easy to reach and very helpful with all the questions. Plus the pricing was very affordable. The trip was amazing. Ryan, Tristan and Henry were fantastic. They got us all the best camp sites, showed us all the lines, the best hikes, the secret spots. We couldn’t believe how good the food was: they are masters of the dutch oven, with cinnamon rolls, cherry pie, and chocolate cake, and grilling steaks, fish, and barbecued chicken. The breakfast game is strong: eggs, burritos, french toast, sausages, and hash browns. It was a huge relief not having to do all the cooking and set up and to have their local knowledge to help keep us safe. They were so much fun to be around; we laughed a lot. Whether you are doing a regular or row your own, I highly recommend OTT. I’m sure all their river trips are great although I will always have a soft spot for the Main Salmon. Thanks guys.🙏

What an adventure! We rafted/kayaked the lower Salmon, 3 night/4 days and it was one of my favorite trips I have ever done. I highly recommend OTT. From booking to the very end it was all very well organized. Our guides (Ethan, Tristan, & Noah) were so amazing and so fun! The meals were outstanding and they were so good about telling us all sorts of facts and info about the area as we rode the river. The beauty of this section of the Salmon river can't even be captured in photos. Plus we also saw a lot of wildlife - river otters, golden/bald eagles, and mountain goats. This was our very first time doing something like this and we would definitely do it again through OTT.

We LOVED our half day rafting adventure down the Rogue River with Todd. We felt safe, informed and just had a delightful time in general. One of our kids went in the kayak much of the journey and even though he didn’t have a ton of experience, I felt like Todd gave clear, excellent direction that made me feel safe as a parent and that his safety was the priority and clearly cared that he had a great time too. Todd shared his knowledge and information about the river and the area, as well as just enjoying the company of the group and some quiet time to enjoy the ride. Also, the lunch was delightful - a right-sized buffet with meatloaf, bbq chicken, Mac and cheese, cookies, farm to table salad, fruit, chips and more.

What an amazing trip down the Rogue River (Wild and Scenic) The guides, Soren, Rip & Maynard were exceptional. I cannot put into words how much they made this trip memorable. The food was outstanding. The help they provided for my blind wife was above and beyond great service.

My wife, teenage son, and I recently did a full day guided trip on the Rogue River. We can't say enough about our experience, which was overwhelmingly positive. Our guide, Todd, was outstanding. Solid training on safety in and out of the boat, while also having lots of fun. Todd's stories about the history, ecology, and other knowledge of the river, is locked in our memories. He was kind and attentive to all of our needs, while also challenging us and teaching essential skills. Our multi course lunch, cooked by Rob, was delicious, beautifully arranged, and plentiful. The time at the lodge was relaxing and scenic. We are now hooked and are hoping to do an overnight trip next summer. Thanks again!

I have a group of friends who do hiking trips together every few years, and this year we picked Morrisons Rogue River hike with support from guides on rafts. Booking the trip was relatively straightforward, but Morrisons highly encouraged us to do trip insurance because they don't offer refunds, which should've been the first red flag. Before I go too far, I do want to give a huge shout out to our guides Drew, Adam, and Johnny. They were amazing, and if I were rating just them, this review would be 5++ stars. They were friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and genuinely cared about us and our hike. The rest of the Morrison's staff...not so much. There was an active wildfire in the area before we started the hike. We talked to Morrison's several times in the days leading up to the trip (before we flew out) and even asked about rebooking the trip for a different time, when the forest in the area wasn't on fire. We were assured that even though they were planning a few modifications to our itinerary (i.e. at least one day of rafting instead of hiking), they were confident that it would be a wonderful trip. Fast forward to the end of day 2 of our trip...and they had to cancel the rest of the 4-day hike due to safety concerns and, ultimately, a mandatory evacuation. To be clear, I'm not upset that we were pulled out of the woods, as that was an obvious safety decision. I'm mad because we specifically asked about rebooking for different dates and were told no. Morrison's got us back to their main lodge the following morning, at which point they considered themselves done with us. There was no refund, no help finding rooms for the night, and the last lodge we were in literally wouldn't even let us use the bathroom in the hour we were waiting for vans to get us back to safety. Morrison's did at least send us all an official email about the trip cancellation so that we could share that with our travel insurance (if we'd purchased it) to try to get a refund, but that was about it. Morrisons also made the guides tell us, rather than having anyone higher up in the company talk to us. From what we can tell, they also didn't do anything to help their guides (e.g. helping them find lodging) once the trip was canceled. I will also add that I'm vegetarian, and although there was a lot of very tasty vegetarian food available, vegetarian protein was extremely scarce. For dinner the two nights we hiked (~9 mi on day 1 and 15 mi on day 2), there was no source of vegetarian protein for me to eat. (The gluten free and dairy free people fared much better.) It would've been so easy to roast a portobello mushroom the way they roasted salmon, or to do some kind of meat substitute when they did ribs (they did have meat substitute at the lunches, and eggs or veggie patties at breakfast). I had brought some protein powder with me, but not enough to make up for dinners without protein. My friends ended up giving me the protein bars they'd brought for themselves to try to make up for the dinners. To Morrison's: please consider all macronutrients (carbs, fat, AND protein) when planning meals for your guests! Overall, I would absolutely go back to the river with any of the guides, but I'll never use Morrisons again, and I recommend that you don't either.

Our rafting trip with Morrisons Rogue Wilderness Adventures was nothing short of extraordinary! From the start, the team at Morrisons left no stone unturned to ensure that our adventure was impeccably planned and executed. Whether you're an experienced rafter or a first-timer, they cater to every need. Our guide Ryan was the perfect blend of knowledgeable, attentive, humorous, and cautious. He lead 2 other rafts at the same time. His love for and knowledge of the Rogue River made the trip all the more fun. The rapids were perfectly suited for beginners, and the option to solo kayak added an exciting touch of challenge for those seeking it. I definitely made use of it and highly recommend it. Our children, aged 6 and 9, had the time of their lives! Watching their faces light up with joy and excitement was truly priceless. We saw Ospreys soaring above us and turtles on the shores. We jumped into the river for swim breaks multiple times. The provided lunch was not only delicious, but also thoughtfully prepared, adding to our memorable day. The chocolate chip cookies were.. yeah amazing. The full day of rafting was filled with moments of thrill, laughter, fun, and filled with awesome surrounding natural beauty. Our experience with Morrisons Rogue Wilderness Adventures was outstanding and one we will cherish forever. If you are looking for a perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and natural beauty, look no further than a rafting trip down the scenic Rogue River with this excellent crew. It's an adventure you'll remember for a lifetime.

Upper and Lower Table Rock

Mentioned on
1 list
Plateau
Nature & Parks
The volcanic plateaus of Upper and Lower Table Rock offer scenic trails adorned by seasonal flowers and pools, providing ample opportunities for sighting bobcats and lizards. While the hike to Upper Table Rock is shorter, it is a sight to behold during spring when wildflowers and trees bloom. The trail has several switchbacks that can be challenging at times. On the other hand, Lower Table Rock's plateau offers spectacular views but requires more effort due to its length and strenuousness.
Nice trail, the very end is a bit rough but youre close to the top. As you go to, the bench on the concrete pad, on ur right is a 2/3 there mark. Bring water and enjoy the view!
Brian B — Google review
The hike up Upper Table Rock is not dangerous but the grade and switchbacks will burn your legs and lungs. The trail is shaded for much of the way, which is nice because it gets warm. Bring water. I enjoyed the plateau the most, for its view farmland and river, plus majestic Mount McLoughlin off in the distance.
Robert I — Google review
Lower Table Rock is a steeper, more strenuous, hike. But it's prettier, tree covered, more hikers, and has a few benches on the way up to the top. I like upper Table Rock too but lower is my preference.
Roger D — Google review
Upper table rock is a shorter hike overall, but in the spring it is absolutely gorgeous as wildflowers and various tree's begin to bloom. It can be trying at times, as it does have a few switchbacks. Lower table rock is both longer and a tad more strenuous. However, the plateau of Lower Table Rock is vast with breathtaking views. You'll want water for both and prepare for a bit of burn (depending on your fitness level).
Chelsea W — Google review
Mind blowing views and surreal setting near Medford. Definitely worth a stop for the quick hike if you’re passing through the area. Can get a little more crowded on weekends, but once you’re at the top of the plateau there’s plenty of room to find your own way.
Jeremie S — Google review
Hike was a bit strenuous at the top. Views are awesome. Not a fan of all the dogs.
Brett D — Google review
The trails are great, wide. I don't like snakes but I haven't seen any around whenever I go but they are around. I've seen lots of lizards, chipmunks, bugs, butterflies, and squirrels. The view at the top is always worth the hike. It's incredibly magnificent!! You can see the Rogue Valley for miles...even the freeway. Great for tourists and residents alike.

Fun hike for almost any age. There is an upper and lower Table Rock.

Seven Feathers Casino Resort

Casino hotel
Casinos & Gambling
Laid-back casino resort offering rooms & RV spaces, plus 3 restaurants, a spa & live concerts.
Stopped here for a little food and rest on my way south. Played at the tables a little. Dealer was very friendly and pleasant. Had the signature dish at the Stix restaurant; fish and chips. I was pleasantly surprised; fries and fish were cooked perfectly. The slaw that cane with it was better than expected and the bartenders were super nice and friendly. Stayed at the dry parking area for RVs and campers and had a great nights sleep.

This place is great. Huge parking lot which was important because we were towing a car trailer. The hotel staff were very friendly. Very clean everywhere. We had a pet friendly room. The room was spacious and very clean. No animal smells. They provide bowls for the pets! Bed was comfy although on the firmer side. Honestly, the only downside for me was the smell of smoke from the casino. I am highly sensitive to it so it bothered me. We would still stay here again. Very nice place and reasonable price. p.s. I got an espresso martini at The Edge Bar and it was really good!

So I usually go at least twice a month. I used to get free play and free nights. I drive 3 hours because I like the place alot. (I used to.. ). I missed 1 month of going there and they demoted me. I no longer get a free room at casino or free play. I spend alot too. The pool used to be great with the spouts. There gone. The hot tub hasn't worked the last 2 times I went. I used to tell everyone they need to go there. I won't be saying that anymore. The bartenders are amazing and the staff is very friendly. I will go back just to see the bartender sara. Just not as much anymore. There's no incentive to drive 3 hours twice a month anymore.

I don't consider 3 stars to be sub par. I was not blown away by the resort. It doesn't stand out in my head. hence the 3 stars. This is only in reference to the gaming area. Very limited black jack tables and had a significant wait. The dealers were very competent and as engaging as normal. I understand that free drinks is not possible and not expected, but paying $7 for an IPA is what I would pay at an upper end bar. I feel and heard people saying 'At least a little lower prices would seem fair' I understand the laws about over service And agree. The server's are great. Thank you
Tobin D — Google review
(See edit below to get the whole story) We absolutely love this resort!! The grounds are immaculate, the service is topnotch (everyone is super professional and goes out of their way to make your stay memorable). Felipe, and all the staff at the front desk, keep things running smoothly, and James is always a delight to meet on the grounds. We couldn't be happier. Five stars and a plus! EDIT 9/26/25 This resort seems to have a problem with its security staff. Not only did they give us wrong information, harass us, and ruin the front door of our trailer at the Casino's dry lot, two men appeared last night at 8pm to kick us out because "The Casino doesn't want you here anymore, because you've threatened with legal action." What does the Casino have to do with the RV Resort? They are separate entities, as the head of the security told us in May (we even asked when we arrived here if it was going to be a problem, answer: No, you can stay here, we're separate, you're not blacklisted here). So do they run money scams here? Tell you it's okay to stay, then kick you out two weeks into a month's stay so they don't have to refund you the money? And why would they even use the small claims case against us? Security ruined our door, the Casino won't respond to emails, and somehow that's our fault too? (Our door costs 1K to fix, the dividends wouldn't cover the effort, so we decided against the suit). Or perhaps this whole thing is about security covering their own deeds as they were the ones who ruined our door and clearly don't want to be held accountable for it. I'm so deeply disappointed at this whole resort at this moment.

My husband, my self & mother in law decided to have a fun night of bingo. Service was good, very helpful. Things were going well for the first hour. Then for some reason the side we were on filled with cigarette smoke. Unfortunately my mother in law loses her voice when ever she gets near any smoke. We had to leave we weren't even 1/2 way through. I understand that we'd played a few games. But we still had several pages left. There was no offer by staff for any reembersment, not even partial.

Stayed here as a half way point on a trip to California. The room was very comfortable besides a noisy mattress cover under the sheets. The giant LED sign in front of the casino is extremely bright and you can see flashing lights from the edges of the curtains if you are facing the front. Definitely request to face the back of the casino if you can. Great art! Friendly service. I hope to go back sometime to try the new tower hotel.
Jamie J — Google review
Stayed here on a recent trip from California to Washington State. Rooms are neat, clean and reasonable. The restaurant served excellent food and the waiter staff was fantastic, even making a drink for my sister that was not on the menu. The Casino is smoke free and is very clean and well maintained. The slots were a bit tight, but that is to be expected. I'll definitely stop here again.

Abacela Winery

Food & Drink
Abacela Winery is named after an old Spanish word meaning "to plant grapevines." The winery, run by a husband-wife team, offers a wide variety of beautifully complex and structured wines. Visitors can enjoy the full-flavored light wines and also have the option to pair them with food. The staff, like wine expert Hailey, are known for being friendly and informative, making for a wonderful overall experience at Abacela Winery.
My boyfriend and I randomly stumbled across this winery on our way back to our hotel from the Wildlife Safari. We have very limited experience with wine tastings, and we showed up admittedly a bit closer to their closing time than I would have normally liked, but we were looking for a new experience. We unfortunately did not catch our server's name, but he was excellent. He made us feel welcome despite arriving closer to their closing time. His timing was impeccable, and our wine and food were delicious. He said he had been working there for about 5 years, and his knowledge for their wines was very apparent. If we ever visit the area again, we will definitely be back and will arrive earlier! 😅

Visited as part of the Umpqua Wine harvest tour. I wish I had been able to enjoy this winery a little bit better. It was quite busy this day and unfortunately only sampled one wine.

Location was beautiful. Food was great. Service we impressive tableside. Staff was very friendly. Enjoyed a wine flight however I hate to say it was not one of the better flights I've enjoyed at a winery. They all tasted and looked pretty similar. Reservations were suggested online however for our visit on a Tuesdays afternoon it was not needed. I'm sure with their pizzas cooked in the pizza oven they are much busier on Fridays.

Highly recommend reading the fascinating history of how they found this location for growing grapes from Spain!
Sarge K — Google review
We have been wanting to try the Roseburg wine region for some time now, and finally got a chance to stop in while on the way to the coast. This winery has a stunning facility with gorgeous views! The staff was friendly, though they struggled with a couple of my questions about their wines. The wines themselves are ok for the most part, with the Tempernillo being their best by far. The wine making philosophy seems centered on re-creating the climate of Spain wine growing regions, which is an interesting approach. I would love to try thier wines 10 years down the road when they have had a chance to refine their winemaking. Definitely worth a visit!

Wine and food was wonderful, but our waitress was less than friendly. We know we were dressed down (it was an unplanned visit), but it was no reason to give unwelcoming service from the girl with dark hair and tattoos. It was forgotten that we ordered a charcuterie, and had she come back, I would have ordered another bottle of wine. The red-headed waitress, however, was much better when we flagged down for service. 3 stars for the good food and wine and the red-headed girl, -2 for the dark-haired girl. I must also mention that we were the only people in the dining area
Janell M — Google review
Stunning venue. Focus on exceptional Spanish wines. Very good service. Tasting fee varies: $15-25 based on reserve level. Pours are good. I recommend getting both levels to compare standard with reserve level (sometimes we preferred standard!) Fees waived with each $50 purchase.

My wife and I did the Vineyard tour with Greg Jones the CEO and had the best time. We learned so much and got treated to beautiful sites and delicious wines. It was incredibly special and can’t thank the Abacela team enough for making it one of the highlights of our vacation to southern Oregon.

Wildlife and safari park
Nature & Parks
Wildlife Safari is a 600-acre park that boasts an impressive collection of animals from around the globe. Visitors can embark on a 4.5-mile drive-thru loop to see these creatures up close and in their natural habitats, including deer and emus giving birth. Beyond the drive-thru, guests can also explore the barn and get even closer to some of the animals.
I was really impressed by this experience. There was an area that included a petting zoo that was free upon paying for the drive-through safari. It was very nice to walk around and enjoy. The drive-through was so much fun. It was a hot day, so a lot of the animals were resting in the shade close to their food. We got to see the bears being fed and a rhino taking a refreshing swim.

Our family had the most unforgettable experience at Wildlife Safari in Winston! Before our visit, the staff was incredibly kind and understanding of our situation, and they went out of their way to support us. We are deeply grateful for their generosity. We came on Friday, August 15, and the emotions we all felt are beyond words. The kids were absolutely thrilled, and our grandmother, who is visiting from Russia, was in complete awe — she had never seen anything like this in her life. We were lucky enough to see cheetah cubs, a giraffe came right up to our car, and the sweetest little deer licked our hands. We all had goosebumps from the excitement! Thank you, Wildlife Safari, for giving our family such a magical and once-in-a-lifetime experience. We will cherish this memory forever!

One of a kind wildlife safari experience. I would recommend places to visit with kids and friends. Interactive place to learn about wildlife and watch a few of the well known species in kind of wild settings. Unfortunately, this place is only accessible via car/personal automobile. Inside you can take a tour bus/vehicle- depends. The tickets were reasonably priced and we opted to purchase the tickets at the entrance counter. Online tickets are also available. For the entirety of the safari, we were inside our car and got to see wild animals like tiger, lions, ostrich, emu, foxes, deers, buffaloes, rhinos, pythons species, cheetah, lemurs and more. There are fun activities to do if you are visiting with kids such as educational sessions with experts, train rides, feeding animals and birds. There were cafes inside the establishment, restrooms were in usable conditions. Since we opted to be in our car for the entirety of the safari, I would say the experience was quite accessible for people of any age group. Staff were nice and friendly. Plenty of parking space was available at the establishment.

This place is spectacular! We ended up spending almost two days here! Well I guess 1 day over all, as we wanted to do the big cat feeding and also meet the cheetah ambassador and take a pic. Both are completely worth it though I enjoyed the tiger feeding a bit more than the cheetah but that was probably because I like tigers more. My wife loved having our picture taken with the cheetah who you could also see as you walk into the front village. We started off with spending the first day driving through the safari. We were worried that it was going to be a bunch of driving and not a lot of seeing the animals. We were not disappointed though (except for the wolves) as most of the animals were out and about even though it was in the afternoon and about 90 degrees out at that time. We drove through all of the different zones and saw many animals in each. We are looking forward to the hyaenas that is hopefully going to be coming soon. We plan on coming back when we are in the area again as it is so much fun to visit the animals. All of the employees were super nice and accommodating, as well as knowledgeable. Great visit and a great place to spend a day with your family!

Went today on a rainy day, almost nobody there which made it like a private park for us. Amazingly beautiful place, great staff and set up. Truly a must see experience. I can't speak for a hot summer day when crowds form, but today was perfect.

For $20+ for adults it’s a decent price to pay to experience this drive through. You not suppose to get out of your car. They do have some animals roaming free while others such as tigers, bears, lions etc remained behind fences. I would recommend this place if your kids and yourself enjoy seeing wildlife . You also don’t need to buy tickets in advance. Yes there is a restroom prior to entering the safari .
Maya H — Google review
10 out of 5 stars! This place was AMAZING. Plenty of space on the drive thru loop to pull over and let others pass or pass others. The animals all had so much space compared to other zoos I’ve visited. Overall so well kept & gift shop/playground/food area nice & clean too.

A Must-Visit Family Adventure at Wildlife Safari in Winston, Oregon! We had an absolutely unforgettable experience at Wildlife Safari during our trip through southern Oregon. This hidden gem offers a unique, up-close encounter with wildlife that you simply can’t get at a traditional zoo. The highlight of our visit was the drive-through safari. The 4.5-mile route took us through rolling hills and open fields where animals roam freely. We saw giraffes, rhinos, zebras, ostriches, elephants, bison, cheetahs, and even lions, all from the comfort of our own car! The animals were active and many came close to the vehicle, which was thrilling for both adults and kids. After the drive, we explored the walk-through section of the park. It’s smaller but well-maintained and perfect for families. We enjoyed seeing reptiles, monkeys, lemurs, and feeding the goats and miniture horses in the petting area. There are shaded areas, clean restrooms, and plenty of informative signs about the animals. Every staff member we met was friendly, helpful, and clearly passionate about animal welfare and education. The facilities were clean, the parking was easy and free. Tips for Visitors: -Check third-party websites for discounted tickets and promotions. -Arrive early to see animals when they’re most active. -Bring snacks and water—there’s a cafe, but food options are limited. -Don't forget your camera or phone with zoom lens!

I’ve been drinking Reustle’s wines for years but had never visited the winery. It’s a beautiful tasting room that feels like a European wine cave. I love their Gruner Veltliner but their other wines are great too, and I like that they experiment with different winemaking techniques and different types of oak. The little food pairings with the flight were a special touch as well. Gloria and her son were working the day I visited and they’re both delightful. The road up the hill is like driving over Swiss cheese so be careful!

We went here for a Mother’s Day special (closed on Sundays so it was on Saturday) The dish was waffles and chicken and came with one glass of sparkling wine. The waffles were delicious. The chicken a little over cooked. The wine was also delicious. But all told, not a 45 dollar per person meal. The property grounds are absolutely gorgeous. The facility itself? Top notch. Would definitely recommend on your tasting route. For the area, the wine prices are on the higher side. But well worth the visit for the scenery and ambiance.

Beautiful tasting room. Kevin provided great information during our wine tasting in the wine cave. Very informative and knowledgeable about wine. Our favorite was the Tempranillo. Jack gave us a tour of their production facility and was also very knowledgeable about wine making. Wish we could have enjoyed their outdoor seating but it was raining.

We came here as a family on a Friday afternoon. We were immediately astounded by the impeccable facilities- the grounds were unbelievably stunning and well kept. We felt like we were in an Italian villa. We ordered four tastings & food and were astounded by the customer service of the club manager and owner, Gloria. We felt seen and cared for the moment we walked in the door AND the wine was incredible! It was so lovely to sit outside on the sunny day (TONS of seating!) and see so many people enjoying their wine- including young families (HUGE plus!) We became members on the spot and look forward to many years of memories at Reustle!

Stepping into Reustle feels like being transported to another place in time, entirely. The building itself has features unlike anywhere else I've been. Quirky details like the humpty dumpty wine barrel add to its uniqueness. Great wine, served with tasteful pairings. It is a great place for wine touring, especially with Tristyn as a host from Experience Umpqua.

Amazing venue. Range of wine. Great service. Highly affordable bites to eat. Yes. really. The wine cave is absolutely gorgeous (rec to owner-play some Spotify guitar music lightly on the background) Wines range from pretty good to amazing. Tasting comes with accompanying bites and tasting fee dropped with purchase (fee $15 pp, spend $50 pp to waive fee) Such a terrific venue…..go!

King Estate Winery, located in the Willamette Valley, is a renowned destination offering exceptional single vineyard wines. Visitors can enjoy wine tastings and tours while taking in breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding area. The winery also offers exquisite food options, including delightful salads with unique edible flowers that add an elegant touch to the dining experience. Guests can savor a variety of small lot wines and indulge in delicious desserts like the highly recommended blueberry cheesecake.
Large winery estate located in the outskirts of Eugene. Property is stunningly beautiful, around 1000 acres. Very hospitable staff, and we loved all the wines we tried. Given the property, one may expect an air of pretention, but all the employees were incredibly kind and welcoming. Our server was nice enough to provide us with a reinforced case box for the other wine we'd purchased so that we'd be able to bring the wine home on our flight. Nice variety of whites and reds, and they also source grapes from Washington and Southern OR. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area; you won't be disappointed.

This winery, equipped with excellent infrastructure, operates only on weekdays and does not accept guests on weekends. While it’s a bit inconvenient that you have to provide your credit card information upfront when booking online, it’s still a place worth visiting at least once. Aside from the dining area, there’s virtually no shade, which is a bit disappointing. The interior space is rather ordinary, but once you’re seated at a table overlooking the surrounding scenery, you can feel a sense of perfect tranquility. They only serve light bites to accompany the wine tasting, so I ordered cheese and a few simple dishes. The flavor of the house-made butter and honey was delightful, and the foie gras spread on toast with additional toppings paired beautifully with the wine. Wine tasting costs $35, and other menu items are also quite pricey. Overall, the value for money isn’t great, but it’s a decent spot for a special outing. As for the wine itself, my personal taste found it somewhat flat—lacking a distinctive terroir, depth, or kick. I probably wouldn’t return, but I’d still recommend visiting at least once.

King Estate is truly a gem in Oregon! The views are absolutely breathtaking — overlooking rolling vineyards and fields of lavender, it genuinely makes you feel like royalty. The wine selection is beyond exceptional, with something for every palate, and the food is just as impressive. The fresh butter and honey, sourced straight from their own farm, add such a special, thoughtful touch to the dining experience. It’s also very kid-friendly, and the staff are warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable. A must-visit destination for wine lovers and families alike!

Took my mom there to celebrate her 65th birthday, my 44th birthday, & my 22nd year anniversary with my company. Had an amazing time there back in mid September around harvest time. We caught a couple to do a tour with & were invited to join them after our flight tasting. We enjoyed that as well as the blueberry cheesecake which was by far the very best cheesecake that we had which led my mother to purchasing another to go. It was that good! Hope to be able to return sometime in the future. But want to give a very special thank you to Jodi & Lily for one of the most unforgettable experiences we'll always remember. I wish more of your products made it to San Antonio, Texas.

So excited to try the wine & experience the views & atmosphere we had heard so much about. We were on a family vacation, my husband, daughter, son in law & granddaughter drove up to Kings Estate & unfortunately didn't get to try the wine. We weren't greeted with a Welcome or smile, but told in the entry way to wait for a gentleman who would take us to the patio for tastings. We waited quite a while, the Gentleman came in asked what we wanted, left to go back to patio. After another hefty wait we decided to leave. Wow, rather disappointed when visiting from another state & all we received was scowls & frowns. Went down the road to Sweet Cheeks Winery!....It was phenomenal!
Sue R — Google review
We walked up and attempted to enjoy a wine tasting on vacation. The first time we were greeted was 5 minutes after we arrived. The gentleman did not seem interested in serving us (my 7 year old daughter was with us). After we were looked up and down, he told us his partner would be with us shortly. Another 5-10 minutes and the partner came up, gave us the side eye and asked if we were all together (my parents, husband, daughter and I). He then said he would try to find something outside. He went on to serve and interact with the 2 tables on the patio. Eventually, we decided to just leave. I cant speak to the quality of wine.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the King Estate Winery for brunch, and I must say it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. Nestled atop a hill, the winery offers stunning panoramic views that are truly a sight to behold on clear days. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the delectable food. The salad was delightful with its inclusion of unusual edible flowers, adding a touch of elegance and visual appeal. The fried potatoes served alongside had a crispy outer layer that gave way to moist insides. The dining environment and tasting room exudes an air of sophistication, with its elegant hardwood and possibly rock floor. The provision of well-stocked hygiene products in the bathroom was a thoughtful touch. The free electric car chargers were a welcome surprise, making it very convenient for those, like us, who drive electric vehicles. In conclusion, my experience at King Estate Winery was unforgettable. From the breathtaking views to the delicious food, and the impeccable cleanliness throughout the establishment, it was evident that this winery goes above and beyond to provide an exceptional experience for its guests.
