Great trail lots to see and do for pics. We left Wenatchee it was 87 at the trail it was in the mid70,s. Lot of breeze and shade. It’s a thick forest with the water close by Easy hike with an occasional tree across the trail from time to time. A water fountain and a faucet to fill water bottles located at the main bridge. It’s cold well water a bathroom is also there. There’s a gravel road the last few miles, lots of cars there so you don’t need a truck.

What a beautiful trail. Very well maintained. Easy map to follow. We used the all trails app and had no issues following. I’ll definitely be back here. The views are epic. The rushing water is calming. Dog friendly. You can go either direction. It’s a loop which is always nice.
Bobby W — Google review
Loved this 4-mile trail — very easy to follow. The temperature was over 90°F, but tks for the plentiful shade. Next time, I’ll bring a towel to put on my shoulders to help cool down. Also, note that the last few miles leading to the trailhead are unpaved and a bit bumpy — be prepared for that.
ChangYun L — Google review
Great loop around a scenic river gorge. Not too long and easy enough to traverse. Found a nice little spot at the end of the loop where you head back with picnic tables near a rapids that was a great spot to eat. Had a great day to hike.

Beautiful walking trail. You can make it harder by taking the trail, as well as the loop. Dog friendly, but narrow path so make sure your dog is people and other dog friendly. Lots of great views!
Robin F — Google review
Such a great hike. In September, very uncrowded and easy to make the loop. The Icicle Creek is gorgeous and clear.

Beaumont Cellars Winery

Had a wonderful time at Beaumont Cellars Winery on Friday, 7/2/21. We did a wine tasting and loved every wine we tried, especially the new Tempranillo. Luke, the owner’s friendly chocolate lab, hung out with us while we tasted and the owners prepped for a concert later that evening. The staff was lovely, the atmosphere was incredible, and we even got to hand-pick cherries right off the trees after the tasting! 10/10 would recommend and will be returning in the future for a concert and more wine! 🎶🍇
Anastasia B — Google review
My family and I went to Beaumont Farm on Friday and had a wonderful experience. Katie was awesome and explained the wines and farm process to us, very informative. The wines are beautifully delicious! We joined the wine club and look forward to visiting again.
Kathleen — Google review
We visited in July for a special birthday party. The facility allowed us to have outside food brought in as well as beer as long as we hired a server. The patio area was great for the food line and the beer, and they opened up the inside to serve the wine. A huge tent was erected on the lawn for the DJ and dancing. The setting was beautiful and the wine was really good! I can't wait to go back and visit again next summer!
Dawn W — Google review
We tried to go to Beaumont on Saturday night to enjoy a glass of wine, but were asked to pay a $25 concert fee or leave. We were not there for a concert. We were not asking to go outside for the concert, we sat at the back table by the door. Word to the wise if you want to go enjoy wine on a Saturday night this might not be the place.
Staci F — Google review
What a fabulous ‘on the way to Wenatchee’ stop this was! Katie was there with Arika the black lab to offer us a tasting and we enjoyed every wine we had. Reds, whites and rose (the day before National Rose day) Looking forward to checking out their new location at Crescent Bar where they have a tasting room and Bistro that just opened. Great wines Pete!
Christi G — Google review
We were asked to pay $25 at entry of the new crescent bar location. We did not want to attend the concert and were happy to sit inside and purchase some glasses of wine. It was not posted on the website that you could not get wine if we did not pay for the concert. Honestly we were really excited to support local businesses but in actuality were turned away and asked to leave, as a party of 6 business was lost.
Emma H — Google review
Exceptional wines, amazing in-house chocolates, and top-notch service create an awesome afternoon shared with other visitors. Each wine in the tasting menu part of the experience was better than the last, complemented by luscious chocolates. The staff's warmth and knowledge elevate the experience, making it a must-visit gem.
Luis G — Google review
My entire family had a wonderful experience here. The wines were exemplary and indicative of the absolute best that our region has to offer. The owners were wonderful and were probably a bit busier than they were expecting to be; however, it was for obvious and good reason. The spot was incredible and the atmosphere wonderful. After a tasting we were in love with the wines enough to subscribe to wine club and can’t wait for our first subscription.

Nature & Parks
Waterfront Park in Leavenworth is a peaceful riverside park that offers various recreational activities such as walking and biking trails, play areas, and picnic spots. It's an idyllic destination that features magnificent trees and leaves, which gives it a serene atmosphere. The town of Leavenworth itself is charming with its German-inspired architecture but retains originality to create nostalgia.
Beautiful waterfront park! There are small trails which any age group can access and enjoy the views. There is a playground for kids and beautiful trail for a walk alongside the river with beautiful views. Restrooms are available. Parking lot has decent amount of space.
Anjali P — Google review
We visited Waterfront Park during the summer, and it turned out to be a perfect spot for a relaxing and fun afternoon. Just two blocks from the main Leavenworth street, this park feels like a quiet escape from the busy downtown. The park is small but charming, with lots of shaded areas, seating, and clean restrooms. Although we didn’t have time to explore the trail, we enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. There's a lake within the park, and we saw many people floating down the river — a great way to cool off! There’s also a bridge where people were jumping into the water, which added a fun and lively vibe. If you're visiting Leavenworth in the summer, definitely bring a swimsuit and a floaty. It’s a great activity for both kids and adults — refreshing, fun, and free! Highly recommend stopping by.
Thu L — Google review
River access and spots to enjoy nature. Only a road over from downtown, but offered a different environment. Nice place to take lunch.
J. R — Google review
Awesome place to tube, hang out by the water and enjoy nature. It’s especially nice about 1-2 hours after sunset in the summer. Parking lot is small but the walk is short. Amazon place for pictures or just to sit and relax.
David L — Google review
Excellent mostly flat trails with a few restrooms along the way. A few playgrounds for the kiddos and in the fall, it’s a kaleidoscope of color!! You may even see a family of deer crossing the river.
Dyanne G — Google review
Beautiful park. The Baird island trail was nice and small.
Haridas A — Google review
This park wasn't what I expected, and I was surprised with how many beaches it has. It would be better with more signs indicating the beaches, since I saw some people swimming at certain points and didn't know how they got in there. The playground looks renovated with interesting equipment and multiple types of swings. Portable toilets were at the entrance, but I found out later there's an actual restroom building. It smelled bad in the restroom, and I wish they left the door open if they could.
Tiffany O — Google review
Waterfront Park is a peaceful spot to step away from the busyness of town and enjoy a slower pace. The playground makes it great for families, and having bathrooms on-site is a thoughtful touch. When we visited, the Sugarloaf Fire gave the park an eerie look in photos, but it was still a beautiful and memorable place to stop

Front Street Park is a small green space with shaded walkways and grassy areas. It offers winter activities such as sledding and tree lighting. Located in the charming town of Leavenworth, known for its Bavarian traditions, visitors can enjoy quaint shops offering unique gifts and an array of pubs stretched along the streets. There are plenty of options for wine and beer enthusiasts to choose from.
Leavenworth is a charming Bavarian-style village in the Cascades, perfect for a fun getaway. Stroll through Front Street for pretzels, sausages, and cozy shops. Hike nearby trails like Icicle Ridge or Colchuck Lake(start as early as 5 am for less crowds ) , float the Wenatchee River, or sip local brews at Icicle Brewing. Families love the reindeer farm and nutcracker museum. Visit during Oktoberfest or the magical Christmas lights for extra charm!
Marta S — Google review
Summetime at Leavenworth is fun too. Soaking in the sun at the Front Street park. Stroll through Front Street for some beer, pretzel, beer, souvenirs and beer (did I mention beer, just kidding). There is a nice gazebo and plenty of seating in the area. There was a local artists exhibition when we visited. Good food is on other streets and not on Front Street. You will love the vibe both in summer and winter.
Meiy P — Google review
We arrived a bit too early. The town of Leavenworth is preparing for Octoberfest. All in all it was a great visit and very scenic place.
Jody M — Google review
Very good experience. The beauty and atmosphere attracted even my kids. Yhe horse ride was also good
Joy G — Google review
Its a really beautiful place to spend a few hours in. There's literally always something new, someplace new to go/look at. You won't be bored here.
Melissa S — Google review
Great shopping, great food, drinks, beautiful scenery. I loved the Christmas store, the hat store. There were artists selling there wares set up on the weekend in tents in the park with jewelry, photos, garden pieces.
Colleen S — Google review
Can't beat the Breakfast at the park for $10. Lots of shops in the area. Coffee, Carmel Apples, Ice Cream, Beer, Food, etc.
Florentino G — Google review
Beautiful park and gazebo in downtown. This is the "hangout" for visitors. There is an art show most summer weekends. It's packed during the holidays but very beautifully decorated. At least once in your lifetime a visit to Leavenworth in the winter is a must!

Nestled in a Bavarian-style building with modern touches like an outdoor fire pit, Icicle Brewing Company has been serving up a wide array of expertly crafted beers since 2011. The brewery's location allows visitors to catch a glimpse of the brewing process from almost any seat in the house. What sets their brews apart is that all the ingredients are locally sourced from the Pacific Northwest, including water from nearby Icicle Creek.
One of the few places open late on a Sunday night. Helpful people at the counter to order beers, cider, and food. Only a few ciders available, but possibly the best one I had all week, crisp and flavorful. Tomato soup and turkey sandwich were very good. Pretzel was pretty good. Great atmosphere inside.
Erik T — Google review
I liked their ambience and vibes! Actually I don't drink, the purpose I had to be there was that the drinkers needed a driver to send them back to the hotel. I was thrilled to be there! People came in and out holding various beers, cheered for each other, talked loud and laughed like crazy, I could feel the happiness with them. It was a worry free zone, I think we all needed this moment!
L L — Google review
The pretzel and beer we got were very good. I wasn't a fan of the beer cheese, but my husband loved it. They have a nice outside seating area for dogs. Very kind staff.
ManaKaster — Google review
Love the vibes of this place and the beer. IPA was strong and worth every drop. I love the gondola. It was a great experience. It is a little wobby when you get on it, so don't spill your drink. Great place to hang out and get a good feel of the nice and cold weather of Leavenworth with their heater and fireplaces in the outdoor setting.
Yer V — Google review
We wanted some takeaway beer - something quite specific. Friendly guy behind the bar gave us some tasters. We chatted about beers he liked what we were after - we went away happy. Nice place, nice beer, nice service. Chill vibes even though it was Labor Day and the town was really busy. Enjoying my beer on my road trip.
Joanna W — Google review
Good beers but the food is below average. The grilled cheese had such a funky taste to it - definitely not quality cheese at all. The tomato bisque was nice but too creamy for my taste. The pretzel is honestly the only food that seems worth it here! Beers were nice too.
Pooja C — Google review
Was recommended by a friend. Had a blackberry cider- delicious!! Was a beautiful, sat outside. Great views of the mountains. This place rocks! Staff were excellent. Got some of their own beer to go from their fridges. YAY!
Ludovicus S — Google review
A fantastic brewery with a beautiful atmosphere and super great service! The drinks were delicious, and the brewery itself has two levels, outdoor seating, and often hosts events like bingo nights! Such an awesome spot, would happily come here again.

Leavenworth Summer Theatre (LST) is a beloved arts organization deeply rooted in the local community, providing opportunities for both kids and adults in the Pacific Northwest. For over 30 years, it has brought together Chelan County residents as performers, technicians, and volunteers to create amazing experiences each summer. The annual program offers enchanting outdoor live theatre performances under the stars, making it one of the most romantic activities in Leavenworth.
Phenomenal. The Sound of Music - 7/13/24 This is my 2nd summer living in Leavenworth and this time around we have a better work/life balance and were able to go to the Leavenworth Summer Theater for The Sound of Music. I'm 32 and I've actually never seen The Sound of Music and knew nothing about it. I booked this on a whim the morning of the show because the Facebook page for the theater posted that seats were still available. Parking is adequate. There is a ~10-15 seat shuttle bus to take you up from the bottom area to the actual theater if you need or want a ride. There were probably 8+ Portapotties right by the theater, which were very clean. They even had hand-wash stations with foot pumps, handsoap, and paper towels. They have seat cushions for rent for $1. Bring 1's and get one. Seriously. Get one. For everyone in your party. Do it. Bring water bottles and bug spray. Do not spray your bug spray at or near your seat go walk out by where you came in to spray yourself. Now to the performance: Incredible! I was blown away. My wife grew up going to plays with her mom in her home country and she absolutely loved this. This is truly a professional play. World class performance. If more of the country new about this you wouldn't be able to get a seat because people would fly in for it. Every single actor and actress was phenomenal. The children actors were so good we were blown away by their talent and courage to perform in front of such a big audience! Lead actress reminds me of the girl from fallout and is no doubt gonna be on the big screen. Awesome venue and beautiful experience. Truly not to be missed if you're here in the summertime
Eric B — Google review
Wonderful performance of The Sound of Music in an outdoor theater in the woods. A bit of a walk from the parking lot. Though there is a shuttle, the theater itself has steps and is not handicapped friendly. Rent a seat cushion for $1 and bring a blanket and/or a jacket as it gets cold once the sun goes down.
Cheryl G — Google review
Lucky enough to experience The Sound of Music while in town. The show was tremendous. Definitely recommend getting the seat cushions and bringing water. The use of the space by the show was so wonderful.
Bridget L — Google review
I’ve gone to a lot of plays every year at Leavenworth Theatre. Last night I went to beauty and the beast, and it was the best play I have ever seen. The cast did an excellent job! I hope you guys do this play again in the years to come. Thank you so much for a wonderful night!
Becky M — Google review
Outstanding! 5 stars! Saw Sound of Music under the stars and by the light of a full moon. The setting is perfect for the Sound of Music with crickets serenading throughout the performance. The production and props were top notch, the acting and music were perfect. One of the best Sound of Music performances we’ve ever seen. We were signing the show’s tunes the whole ride home. Definitely, we will go again and recommend anyone visiting Leavenworth to catch this show.
Sean S — Google review
We go every year (this was year 4), and this year we saw beauty and the beast!! The best musical numbers out of any of their shows! And finally, the parking lot is asphalt! Much bigger too!

Pybus Public Market is a spacious and vibrant marketplace located in Wenatchee, Washington. Spanning the size of a football field, this indoor street market offers an array of local farm goods, artisanal foods, and specialty shops. Visitors can explore fresh produce from nearby farms, as well as butcher shops, cheese vendors, regional wines, and delightful pastries. The market also hosts restaurants and live music performances on Friday evenings.
Nice place to visit with family We tried the pizza with hot honey and the special with beef jerky - both were delicious! 🍕🔥 The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming, definitely a cozy spot to enjoy good food together.
Karina P — Google review
The market has a fun atmosphere, but it’s primarily geared toward dining rather than shopping. Had we known that in advance, we would have planned our visit differently. While there are a few booths with local products, the focus is clearly on food stalls. If you’re expecting a broader variety of goods or a traditional market vibe, this may fall short. Still, it could be a nice stop if you’re hungry and in the mood to try different local eats.
Dustin E — Google review
Amazing combination of permanent restaurants and shops mixed in with temporary craft vendors. All shops are small businesses and independent. Whatever you're looking for, fresh produce, cheese, meat & seafood (seasonal), wine, vinegrettes/olive oils, coffee, craft beer... it's here. Definitely worth the look.
Justin H — Google review
Great selection of stores and farmer's market items. Wine tasting was excellent and the wine slushies were the best! We loved sampling the oils and balsamic vinegars, too.🍷🧀
Lisa C — Google review
What a fun market in Wenatchee. Great for families as it’s right on the river and play area. We ate lunch at Huck at Pybus and it was good.
Kim T — Google review
Such a neat place to browse, sadly I wasn't hungry, so so many yummy looking food opportunities!! I'd love to make a special trip to the area to visit again. Make a day trip and shop and eat, you won't regret it! There are little vendors and bigger booths of specialty items and what I saw was reasonably priced. There's a butcher booth (whole shop really) on site too!
Heather S — Google review
This is a great market to go to with good food and wine, and other stuff. Just watch out for the rude yuppies that have no problem plowing into a 92-year-old man as he is being assisted in walking down the main corridor. Regardless of that, I still enjoy going there and it's a great meeting place. Also, don't forget to try Little Red's Espresso located in a silver airstream in the parking lot. Best Latte' in town!

I really enjoyed my too short visit here. So much to look at and fall in love with! A great place to find a unique gift for that hard to please person! The talented artisans here made it so hard to want just one thing! I loved it!

Nestled in the picturesque foothills of the Cascade Mountains, Leavenworth Reindeer Farm is a charming family-owned destination that offers year-round tours and educational experiences. Visitors can enjoy up-close encounters with the majestic reindeer, including a herd of endangered Woodland Caribou. Whether it's during the festive Christmas season or any other time of year, this unique farm provides an enchanting opportunity to connect with Santa's famous crew.
A great experience to learn about farm life and interact with a Reindeer herd. The tour started with chicken feeding, a video about Reindeer, and a safety briefing. The group was separated into the two area, Cupid Corner for young kids and people with special needs, and the main Reindeer enclosure. I selected a branch with leaves to feed a Reindeer and walked into the enclosure. The Reindeer are gentle with people and love to feed on tree branches. I stopped at the food stand, The Blitzen Brew, for an Alaskan Reindeer sausage wrapped in a Norwegian potatoes lefse. You will also find a gift shop in the barn with reindeer merchandise including an ornament made from antlers. Located on Chumstick Hwy in Leavenworth, about a half mile from Front Street. One of most unique experiences to feed Reindeer on a family run farm with a gift shop, a nice food stand, and very friendly hosts. .
Ed L — Google review
Highly recommend anyone visiting Leavenworth to experience the Reindeer Farm. Buy your ticket in advance online for the time slot and day. Holidays will book fast and weekends too. Show up, checkin and get ready for a unique time! You will also be supporting the family owned business. The owner was great and walked us through the educational and safety protocols before going in with the Reindeer herd to feed and pet them. You’ll also get to feed chickens, see camels, bunnies, and meet their friendly barn cats. They have a little food and drink stand where you can try some unique items or familiar ones. They have several picture spots set up and a full gift shoppe on site. Visiting the farm was the highlight of my weekend trip to Leavenworth (along with riding the Alpine coaster in a separate location nearby)!
Kristina S — Google review
This may just be our favorite trip memory out of any vacation we've ever taken! What an incredible experience this farm offers. They've left no detail unthought of and I appreciate that it was a multigenerational family business. The gift shop was amazing and even though it was October when we visited, we sure felt like we were in the middle of Christmas! Great photo opportunities. Delicious, authentic food on site. Learned so much and experienced so many new things! Unforgettable time at Leavenworth Reindeer Farm! I don't want to give away too much so go and experience it for yourself!
Katelyn B — Google review
This was probably our favorite thing we did while we were in Leavenworth. Even though we went in October, it still had this really magical feel. We really loved it here! The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable, and it's also a family-owned business. As a city girl, I have little experience with animals, so I found myself initially uncomfortable. However, they made sure I felt welcome and comfortable from the beginning. You can really tell that they take good care of their animals. Despite the many animals on the farm, it remained incredibly neat and clean, which is a real bonus. I'll absolutely return soon. It's a must for anyone visiting Leavenworth or Washington state.
Yesmine K — Google review
We had so much fun! They really take care of these reindeers. It's not at all one of those places where you feel bad about the animals, these guys are very happy and the family is kept together. You really learn a ton about reindeer. There are also adorable cats, turkeys, and chickens.

Such a great place! So much fun interacting with their reindeer and of course the babies! Hansel & Gretel are just darling! Loved the informational video before going in with those wonderful animals! The camels were such a cool part of the place too!

If you're visiting Leavenworth for the first time, one of the spots you definitely should visit is this reindeer farm! A family business where you can see the love and support that the family has on the animals. A very fun place for people of all ages!! We got to see the cute reindeer and feed them while being able to learn more about them and ask questions about how they are raised. The staff are so friendly and genuinely enjoy being there. So I think it's one of the best spots to visit in Leavenworth!

Quaint private reindeer farm caring for a large herd of reindeer. It’s is a family run organization and you can tell that they care for these animals deeply. Our reserved time for 6:00 was pushed back to 7:00 so that the reindeer would be more comfortable at cooler temperatures. We talked to multiple of the workers and they were more than happy to tell us about the different reindeers names, personalities, ages, and many other quirks that makes these animals unique. Kid-friendly as well and with the opportunity to feed these majestic creatures. Would recommend to anyone stopping in Leavenworth to experience this.

Wenatchee Riverfront Park is a charming 31-acre park located by the water, offering a boat launch, shoreline trail, and picnic areas. The park features a two-lane boat launch, day use moorage, picnic spots, event areas, restrooms, and a 1.1-mile shoreline walking trail. Additionally, visitors can enjoy Xeriscape gardens and a 'special event' mini-railroad within the park.
Absolutely beautiful place to walk and enjoy the fall colors along the river.. Definitely recommend checking it out for yourself sometime..

It's a great place to take a walk, enjoy the waterfront with family. The Pybus public Market is within walkable distance from here and there's plenty of parking.

Amazing splash park! Park is clean, there’s a nice pathway to walk/ride if you feel the urge but we spent the entire time splashing away.

Great variety of plants. Labelled well. Scenery is gorgeous. You can see rivers and mountains.

This riverfront park is right on the Columbia river, it has a paved easy to navigate track for walking or bike riding. Made it really easy for strollers and wagons if you have kids and need to have easy terrain for their needs. Not far from a public market if you need a snack or to get out of the heat or sun for small children. Definitely recommend if your in the area or just passing through for a break while driving.

Nice place to spend some time walking running or bike riding also encouraged.

Gorgeous sculptures, clean level pathways, several sandy beach areas, to s of grassy areas, walking and biking trail combined. Safe and fun for all ages and speeds. Great playground, small train for the kiddos and even the Wenatchee Rowing & Paddle Club located here. I had a beautiful 5 mile run along the river.

Beautifully decorated with many flowers tress shrubs which have the name plates of all of them. It’s well kept and brings little knowledge of flora.. there’s water access here too . The dog was happy in the shaded lush grass. We brought lunch and enjoyed a nice walk. Paths is concrete so bring your wheeled whatever.

Such an amazing experience! We did our wedding here and Samantha Segaline who runs the place, got all the tables and chairs set up beautifully and a dance floor too with microphones and speakers. It took out all the tedious and stressful work on the day of the wedding and it all came with the package. We were able to do photography months before the wedding for engagement photos and then for our wedding three hours before: they were very accommodating for all our needs. The food delivery ran smoothly as they had an accessible spot for food and for other accessibility needs like grandparents. So beautiful, loved it. Would recommend to anyone: very affordable.

It's a wonderful experience. There is a provision for a wedding celebration in this place . We got the chance to see on wedding celebration when we visit this place. There is a sig sag walk paved with rocky stones and several water ponds in between. There are several viewpoints to enjoy the flowing of Chellan River and far away mountains. Entry is restricted by 8$ . Senior citizens, can you the walking sticks provided .And there is a Compas fixed on the walking stick to track the location.

Dams
Our guide, Megan, was truly a highlight of our personal tour here at the dam. I grew up here in Wenatchee in the late 70s/early 80s and remember visiting the museum as a youngster-- to have memories rekindled by seeing the volcanoes and glacier ice mural in its same location as my 9 year old brain remembered is truly extraordinary in this time period. The Discovery Center is a wealth of information, history, art, and a multimedia reflection of something truly extraordinary: a community-owned utility district and hydroelectrical system. Megan kindly and with incredible depth of knowledge took me, my partner, my dad and stepmom around the facility. She shared so much information that was new to me as an adult about how unique the facility is. With a progressive vision implemented in the 1950s with an eye for the long-term, Megan shared how the facility is continuing to evolve and how community-first this utility really is. To return to a place that is a mix of both old and new, the retro (but my living memory!!) and the evolving perspective/learning activities that is especially great for younger kids, is such a heart-expanding experience. Thank you, Megan and all staff we interacted with while visiting on site, June 26th 2025!! My inner 4th and 5th grader was thrilled to be able to try turning that human-powered generator in a box, now at age 55. It's still there, and what a treat to integrate so many positive memories in one place. This is a gem! It's not flashy and flashy wouldn't suit. You can see fish going through the ladders and the whole experience is gloriously analog and magical. Come visit. Not only that, it's a free resource held in trust by the Wenatchee Valley community. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. ❤️‍🔥💚🙏🐠

What a hidden gem! A delight for all ages. I am awestruck at how impeccable their grounds design is, and how well maintained. They offer so many options (playground and picnic areas outside, plus picturesque views-can't be beat), plus interactive and informative exhibits inside. They even offer some food options. It's wheelchair accessible, also. Best of all, this jewel is free (parking included). They upgraded extensively in the last couple of years. It is our favorite place to stop by, either on, or our way back from Chelan. Congratulations to the whole team on a job well done: planning, and excuting. Friendly staff to boot. Highly recommend.😊

Went with high hopes and young kids snd we loved every second! The grounds and playground are beautiful and the discovery center was so well designed perfect for kids and families! My kids loved looking for fish, the animal prints and their poop 🤭 steering the boat, the interactive displays and the clean energy game! The 4 adults that came had fun things to do as well! The staff was so friendly and gave our kids fish necklaces which they all love! Also so grateful for the little cafe/gift shop! Perfect place to stretch your legs and learn in a fun way before going to Leavenworth! We will be making this apart of our yearly family trip to Leavenworth and definitely telling others to make it a stop for them! 10/10!

We showed up on a Saturday, on a whim, just driving through. It was AMAZING!!!!! The curator was great, full of so much information. Wow! What an excellent museum and staff! I've been wanting to come here for years but the timing has never worked. It's open Thursday through Sunday, 11 to 5 so you can make a plan to stop by. It is on the Yellowstone Trail and you can learn all about it there. If you are a rockhound, you will absolutely love the huge rock gallery that includes meteorites and glow-in-the-dark rocks. I'm planning to go again this year because I didn't allow enough time. So much history, so well done, a real treat!

Lake Chelan State Park is a tranquil and well-maintained 127-acre park nestled on the shore of Washington's longest lake. It offers spacious campsites, a boat ramp, and a large dock for visitors to explore and enjoy the crystal clear waters of the lake. The park provides a safe environment where visitors can paddle on the serene waters or simply relax by the shore.
Beautiful! I wanted to think it was overrated but I see why people would drive 3 hours to this lake as opposed to other nearby ones. It's large! Plenty of space for everyone, whether on the water or around the lake, so you can enjoy the serene landscape without having to hear other people's conversations and music. Plenty of parking too. There is a sandy beach but you could also walk to the quieter sides where there are spots under the trees for foldable chairs and canopies. You may have to pay at the booth coming in: $10 for day use or $30 for annual pass (Discover Pass). There is a teeny gift section in the booth, some magnets, thermal flasks, and t-shirts.

Beautiful park with plenty of activities for all ages! There’s a nice playground for kids and a swimming area with options to rent kayaks and jet skis. Campsites are well-maintained, and the bathrooms (with showers) were clean. While most sites don’t offer much privacy, the lake views and stunning sunsets more than make up for it. We even caught fireworks from the lake — such a fun bonus! We stayed at campsite 85 and really enjoyed our time here.

Such a beautiful, clean lake. The bathroom near our campsite had 4 individual showers and clean bathrooms. Beautiful view of the lake. Be prepared fir lots of boating noise in the summer, and I mean a lot! Campsite had great view of the water and the sunrise.
K M — Google review
End of July it's hot weather. Take a cool clear water swim in the lake, paddleboard, jetski, go boating. Get bags of ice or maybe a 2 scoop ice cream cone at the concession/store there. You can camp almost right on the water, near a big grass field, under a shade tree - and there is also group camping. Free showers and bathrooms are cleaned daily. Kids playground, volleyball, and a hiking trail. I saw deer roam the campground while I watched the beautiful sunrise. This is an excellent place to go camping.
Wildcraft R — Google review
This is a nice park with camping and day use areas. There is a grass and tree covered area with picnic tables. At the lake's edge, there are grass or sand areas to set up your spot. They have an enclosed swimming area. There is a small store to make food and sundry products purchases. The bathroom has showers and are very clean.
Cyndi M — Google review
Overall the campground was decent, but it was very crowded and the sites were packed close together. There’s no grass on the ground—just dirt—so it felt a bit dusty and dirty. On the bright side, the restrooms and showers were available and quite clean, and showers were free. Lake Chelan’s water is crystal clear, perfect for paddle boarding and swimming.

Beautiful area to walk and swim, the campsites if your tent camping are awesome..the water side ones are mostly hidden away in the tree canopy, chelan is always beautiful tho..there is a small store where u can rent kayaks and stuff like that, some groceries, but they have food and ice cream and coffee. From the 500-foot Lazy River to beginner slides like Bug-a-Boo for parents and toddlers, as well as thrilling options like Tube Blaster and Purple Haze, there's something for everyone.
We had a blast and will definitely be back. The price was affordable, the staff was polite, and the overall vibe was laid back. It wasn’t too busy and had enough activities to keep us busy for hours.

We visited Slidewaters as two adults and one child and paid $85 for all of us. 🏖️ Totally worth it! The water park is compact and easy to navigate — you don’t need to walk far between attractions. 👣 Great for families with kids! You can grab a bite right inside 🍔🍟 — burgers, fries, soda, and even ice cream 🍦. It was pretty busy, but the atmosphere was still fun and enjoyable. 😎 Lots of slides are family-friendly, and many allow you to ride together with your child, which is a big plus! 👨‍👩‍👧💦 Definitely recommend for a summer day in Chelan! 🌞🎉

Clean, fun water slides, sandy volleyball court, and cool wave pool. All different cultures and ages can come to learn to surf or enjoy watching others surf while drinking a cold delightful beverage. Lots of places to lay out your towel for sunbathing and enjoyment. The only thing that bothered me is the price of food. Still worth going to relax and have fun 😊
Cassandra B — Google review
Is a great place to take the kids. If you are new to the park, is good to know a few things: bring beach towels, is up to you but you can bring little tents since is very common to see family's bringing them and setting it down on the grass. You can rent a cabana but only if you want a private space and don't want to pack anything to sit. Also upstairs there are chairs and lounge chairs with umbrellas that you can sit and relax. Since I went on a not so sunny day it was ok but looks like it could be very sunny upstairs not a problem if you like the sun. The slides are fun, just prepare to walk up the hills, it is for all ages literally, I will come back. Ohhh bring food if you don't want to eat fast food other than that they sell the regular things you can find in places like this, burgers, fries, etc.

We had such an amazing time at Slidewaters in Chelan! I went with friends and it was the perfect spot for a fun, memorable day. The slides were a blast, the water was refreshing, and the whole place had such a positive, summer vibe. Everything was clean, well-kept, and the staff made sure things ran smoothly. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Chelan and want to have a good time with friends or family.

Awesome place! Small area for square footage, but packed tight with tons of slides. All of them are fun in their own way, and range in intensity for all ages. Only warning from my experience is that the intermediate slide #3 almost yeet-ed me off the slide.... left side of my body was out of the tube, but I survived. I didn't actually do that slide again. No running start on it either... but I'm a big guy, so maybe it was an issue of mass x velocity.... but my two kids played hard all day, and refused to leave... but we're passed out once seated in the car. Only picture i got was of the hang out pool that we sat beside.

Great for all ages . Granddaughter was 3 and she could touch the bottom of the lazy river. perfect for little kids and she went down 4 of the small waterslides while I waited at the bottom for her . We had older kids with us too perfect for a family. Bring a soft cooler, hard coolers not allowed . Bring sand toys too there is sand area above to play in for kids or a volleyball. One way to experience the beauty of Lake Chelan and its surrounding towns is through helicopter tours offered by Lake Chelan Helicopters. In addition to aerial tours, visitors can also enjoy boat rides on the lake, providing breathtaking views of the scenery.
Nice getaway! Had a relaxing trip to Stehekin and enjoyed the views from the ferry. It was long, but a beautiful ride. The guides were super friendly and funny!

Had a great time going to Stehekin. Went to the bakery and Rainbow Falls. Took the fast Lady Liberty up and the Lady Express back. Rented electric bikes and toured around. Fun.
Dennis H — Google review
One of the great experiences on The Cascade Loop with a ferry ride on Lake Chelan to the remote town of Stehekin. I boarded The Lady Express in Chelan for a two and half hour ride to Stehekin with several stops along the way. It was nice to learn about the points of interest along the lake including the narrowest part of the lake. It was amazing to be on the lake with great views of peaks and Mountains along the lake. The ferry has a restroom and and a snack shop on board. I booked the Rainbow Falls tour with a stop at the bakery and a great experience in Stehekin. Stehekin has one restaurant and limited lodging options, but there are a number of tours of the lower valley that will not take all day. Located at the Lake Chelan Boat Company on W Woodin, which is US-97 Alt in Chelan. A great place to take a ferry on Lake Chelan to a remote town with a number of tour options and amazing views of the deepest Gorge in North America.
Ed L — Google review
From Chelan, we rode the Liberty to Stehekin. Spent our day checking it out, but the ride home on the Express was a blast. What a hot rod. Lake was smooth enough it was a hour and half ride. We will go again. I didn't get a photo of the express, just the video of the ride.
John P — Google review
Nice ferry ride out to and back from Stehekin. You can park at Chelan or Fields Landing to start this adventure. Keep a close eye on the departure times and plan accordingly.
Laura S — Google review
This boat ride was worth every penny and contributed to a great vacation in the Cascades. The dock is easy to find and as soon as you arrive, everything is easy from parking to boarding. Ride itself was smooth and on a clean boat. The folding chairs aren't the most comfortable but this is not a luxury cruise. The pilot was great and his narratives were very educational. We rode to Stehekin and took the Rainbow falls tour which I'd highly recommend. The snack bar on the boat is very small so I'd recommend bringing your own food and drinks. I'd take this tour again if I come back to the area.
Christopher S — Google review
It was a great ride to Stehekin, we did the 1.5 hour layover but when we do it again I will do the 3 hour, we could have spent more time.
Cassandra M — Google review
I did the day trip up to Stehekien, 3.5 hours each way for 1.5 hours up in Steheiken... crew was great, I struggled to hear the narration on the Upper deck, perhaps because there was a school group up there too, so moved downstairs to the soft seats. One of the bathrooms was out of order, so a line formed for the other. We had calm water, and was a smooth ride. Lots of shade, beautiful views the entire time.

Benson Vineyards Estate Winery, situated on a hilltop overlooking Lake Chelan, is known for hosting live music events and offering breathtaking views. With a tasting room and a laid-back atmosphere, this winery provides an excellent selection of wines. The Myth Cafe downstairs is renowned for serving delicious pizzas and ciders. It's recommended to visit in the morning due to the challenging mountain road leading up to the winery.
Me: I am easy to please, you can't deny that. Him:... We just ate at a winery on top of a mountain overlooking a lake! Me: oh. 🤣 And to think I all started with me searching for pizza, seeing one photo from this establishment, and deciding to try it. The winery is just 15 minutes from Lake Chelan and it's a scenic drive and location, as well. What I love most about going here was that I was able to do a wine tasting while waiting for the pizzas to be done. Admiring the vineyard, the mountains and lake Chelan was very enjoyable too! A flight tasting is $15, and bottle is anywhere from $25-$35. We were told that if we purchased a bottle, they would waive the cost of the flight. It was a good experience, and what I liked most was that the server was relaxed, casual and friendly and made recommendations based on not only his favorites, but the staff's overall picks to help us narrow down our choices. It gave us an opportunity to step out of our comfort zone more confidently. I HIGHLY recommend the Cabernet Franc and Merlot !

If you want wine and ambience you've found the place. It doesn't get much more Chelan picturesque than Benson Vineyards. Take photos in their estate vineyards or enjoy pizza and wine on the patio. It's kid friendly with space for them to safely play while you sip. PC: Karisa Anna Photography

We make it here about once a year to taste & buy some bottles. Chelan is mostly a summer destination, but we have only visited the winery in the winter during Winterfest. Winter is still a very nice time to visit - the snow covered vineyards are very pretty. The tasting room is absolutely beautiful with great views. Lots of room to sit and enjoy your tastes or a glass. The deck looks out over the grounds. The grounds are beautiful and I would imagine fun to do a tour and explore in the summer. The wines are very good. Usually I love reds, but here I always end up taking home a bottle of the Curious - very good white. Stop by and enjoy a glass.... we will be back for sure next time we visit the area!

Came here as part of a bachelorette party and this was an amazing place to get food, drink wine and listen to live music! They have a lot of covered patio seating and some seating indoors (in ac). Great pizza and charcuterie board. Nice to have many food options at a winery. The location itself was STUNNING. The vineyards against the water and mountain range was gorgeous. They also had decent amount of parking and are family/kid friendly. Would definitely come back!

Wonderful afternoon at the Benson. Tip to visit this winery was from fellow traveler at The Logde. She touted as best views, light tasty bites, and delightful wines. Tried white wine flight with lemon feta cheese and crackers. Staff super friendly and helpful. My fellow traveler was not wrong aboutthis experience. We stayed on back porch and enjoyed the views and sips to the fullest. We loved all the sips and the Estate Curiosity and 2023 Chardonnay were favs.. There are several wineries on the same road but this one has amazing views while you enjoyed a cheer or two.

Love Benson winery. The ambiance is top shelf. The issue is when they price their Cabernet over $60 they better be the best Cabernet in the valley. Unfortunately just across the lake stands Fielding Hills with a view just as spectacular and their Cabernet is smoother, bolder and richer and is priced at $52. Someone has a bargain and someone is overpriced here.

I think this is my favorite winery in this area. It is small, but it has a cozy and very nice "home" feeling. The bartender/server will come to greet you and talk about the wines and stories of the place. The wine we had in the tasting room was very tasty, not spicy or smoky but very smooth. We loved it a lot and ended up buying a couple of bottles. It is also pet friendly. My pups got a lot of pets and love from the guests there. Will definitely visit again when we visit Lake Chelan area next time.

Hard Row to Hoe is such a fun and memorable stop in Lake Chelan. The tasting room has a lighthearted, cheeky vibe, but the wines themselves are seriously good. I loved the Shameless Hussy Rose on a hot summer afternoon, and the Burning Desire Cabernet Franc is elegant with just the right amount of spice. What really sets this place apart is the story and the values behind it. It’s a family-run, organic vineyard that farms with a focus on sustainability and is even certified Salmon-Safe, which matters a lot in this region. You can feel good about the wine in your glass, knowing the vineyard practices are protecting the lake and the surrounding environment. And every tasting room associate knows “the story”, which you have to ask for on your first visit. Between the beautiful views, the playful branding, and the genuine warmth of the people who run it, Hard Row to Hoe is a winery I’d happily recommend to anyone visiting Lake Chelan or Manson.

First time to the vineyards and it was very nice, relaxing and welcoming. We each did the wine tasting then bought a bottle of port to drink. Their port is the best! I usually buy a bottle to bring home when I go to Leavenworth, since that's the closest tasting room to Seattle. PS, the bathroom wallpaper is all what everyone talks about! 😂

Delicious wines and absolutely the best company in the Chelan AVA. This small, family run vineyard should be top of your list when visiting the Lake Chelan area. Lots of fun for kids and dogs too. We loved the new shaded area for our kids to run around and play in. Their fun themes - Nauti Buoy, Shameless Hussy, etc. add to their uniqueness. Don't forget to ask about the origin story of their label! Don't forget the Port shots in a yummy chocolate cup. Cheers.

Delicious local wine, gorgeous views, friendly folks and fun stories make for a not to be missed experience! One of my favorite things is that many of the wines are certified sustainable and salmon-safe! For a small, boutique winery, Hard Row offers an impressive variety of red, white, rosé and sparkling wines and they are all yummy! They have cheeses, cutting preserves, dried meats and crackers for pairings and something to snack on while savoring the wine and taking in the views. Since the wine is all made on site, in the fall sometimes you can even get a glimpse of the action! This is my favorite winery to take friends and family when they are visiting. Lots of fun, and there’s something for everyone!

This is probably my favorite winery in the Chelan area...... such a cute story and great tasting wine. I have visited several times and the wine tasting is always a great one. This visit stood up to the reputation, the server was great telling us about the wines and carrying on good general conversation. The tasting room is adorably decorated to go with the theme..... and that wallpaper - am I blushing???? Haha. This time I left with a great bottle of white wine and a 4 pack of their new cider. A great visit for sure!

My large group of 9 was easily able to make a reservation here (a few days in advance). They have a lovely outdoor seating area with a few fire pits that were great on a cloudy day. The champagne (Good in Bed) was soooooo good! The place also has cool backstory, definitely ask your server about it. We had a great time here and will definitely be returning.

Alta Lake State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
Park
181-acre camping park on a trout-stocked lake with a boat launch, campsites & dramatic canyon walls.
This campground is one of the best in the state in terms of cleanliness, staffing and facilities. Excellent scenery and back drop. Perfect for tent campers or rvers of all types. Great job. I’m not sure why some state campgrounds are more like homeless camps and others are excellent, safe campgrounds for the public. It would appear campgrounds on the west side of the state need new management. Keep up the good work Alta Lake management!!

Beautiful setting, no issue with mosquitos (don't know if that was because it's late in the season or typical). Exceptionally well maintained campsites, although they are very close together. Also not a lot of shade, so recommend bringing something with you. Ample restroom facilities.
Carey G — Google review
Great amenities and well kept work green grass at the lake. It's nice to have access to showers that come along with the cost of a nightly stay. They clean and rake each plot. It's mainly rocks. Expect to walk up and down hills. The spots are extremely close together with not much shade and you can hear and see neighbors. There's clean water and trash cans easily accessible. The lake is the draw of camping here if you're not just looking for a place to stay between destinations on a hot day. Make sure you have a discovery pass if visiting for the day at the lake. The small store next to the lake has bread, hamburger buns, peanut butter, jelly, hot sauces, loads of ice cream hot food like Red Baron pizzas, caffeine drinks, minor fishing supplies, kayak rentals, toilet paper, tampons, nearly any basic product you'd need in case you'd forgotten something. They have thoughtful, great toys for kids. Expect prices to be a bit higher. There's a playground next to the lake that isn't exciting, but has a slide and two rocks kids can climb up. You could camp here without needing to bring anything but a tent

This is one of my favorite state parks! Such a beautiful area & so well maintained! I was lucky enough to be there early in the season with some really nice weather. Almost had the park to myself! I got in some great paddle boarding on the lake as well as a hike up the mountain behind the park!

Great little camp ground, has a great hike nearby not recommended for young kids. The beach area was nice to swim at and there is concession stand that sell snacks.

Beautuful Quiet setting to enjoy with your family. Dry camping sites all along the lake sectioned out with large boulders. Cement Sites with electricity and water. All have great views! Restrooms with showers are kept very clean.

I wish there were half stars as I would give 3.5 stars. Here is the the good ... Clean campground with clean sites & bathrooms. Some sites w/o hook-ups would work well for smaller RVs. Nice lake access with big beach and water is clean. The not as goods... If you are in an RV and want hook-ups your site options are limited. The sites are too close to each other & one section for RVs is literally a paved area like a parking lot. There are limited trails so the lake better be your choice for the day/stay

Beautiful place to spend the weekend camping , fishing or playing golf. The campground is clean well kept. Would definitely go back again. We did some trout fishing of the dock, it could be repaired or in better condition. The dock is broken not maintained but still works. We caught our limit. The view is impressive specially right before sunrise 🌅😀The lake is nice to swim in it even not during peak summer. Also has shallow areas for families with kids much calmer than lake chelan. Also not as crowded.

Great place to unplug. Lots of places to explore by car, but have a high undercarriage. There are ruts and boulders in spots. Winthrop Ace is the place to find out about all you outdoor needs. Rivers Edge Resort is wonderful and located right in town. Go drive many of the different NF roads. Some are well maintained and others not. We are here in May and hwy 20 is opening today so we have had this quaint little place to ourselves. Don’t forget the Mazama store for delicious baked goods. Hikes are abundant so know where you want to go or you will be overwhelmed with what to do.

Gamble Sands

Golf course
Outdoor Activities
Polished golf resort with a grill restaurant/bar & river views, plus a pro shop & an 18-hole course.
Always worth the drive to play here. The course is in great shape and very playable for all skill levels. Views are amazing. The lodging is nice. Giant putting green is fun at night with glow in the dark balls. I would bring your own versus buying at the course. Will be much cheaper. Worth making restorations at Danny Boy ahead of time just in case, as it can get busy.

Awesome customer service in all property locations. I could tell you are a bit understaffed in food and drink service at Danny's Bar & Grill as it took more time then it should to get waited on. Your new Barn area was done well. I liked your design and setup. The restrooms at that location were not serviced enough however. They were a mess at 9am in the morning and in the same condition later in afternoon. The buffet got a 7 out of 10 the night we had the prime rib...that was not good, full of fat, more fat then eatable meat. The room was spectacular. Please put an end table between the chairs on deck to set a glass on, there was no table out there. Front desk staff is always great along with shuttle cart drivers. Wasn't real impressed with your new course, however hoping you have things figured out before booking our next annual trip. Thank you for a great weekend!

We stayed at the Inn for a night and played 18 holes at Gamble and 14 holes at Quicksands. We cannot say enough positive things about our experiences. I thought the customer service was excellent. It seemed as though the people really took pride in their job and they made it very special for us. The Inn was world class accommodation. The view from the room is stunning and we spent 3 hours on the patio relaxing and soaking in the atmosphere. The course was incredible. Such generous fairways and the maintenance was top notch. I have played at some nice courses but the overall experience at Gamble sands was the best I’ve ever had on a Golf Course. I cant wait for Scarecrow to open and we plan on making this an annual trip. I’m looking forward to seeing where this development will go.

The courses are world class. Rooms were immaculate and the staff was fantastic. The only feedback I’d offer would be: - there are many blind shots. Seems a good enhancement would GPS trackers on carts so you can see where the group in front of you is to avoid hitting into them. - Danny Boy restaurant menu and food quality were just OK. Not bad, but didn’t blow our minds. - please build a 3rd 18 hole course!!
Ryan M — Google review
From the moment we arrived, the customer service was top-notch—friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, whether it was handling special requests or offering local tips. The real highlight, though, was the golf course. Absolutely stunning. Every hole had incredible views—rolling fairways framed by mountains, water features, and wide-open skies. Even if you’re not a golfer, the scenery alone makes this place worth it. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and had great views of the course. After a round of golf, we relaxed with drinks on the patio and watched the sunset over the 18th green—unreal. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with world-class golf and even better service, this is it.

We had a small hiccup with our reservation at Gamble Sands, but the staff went above and beyond to make it right. They handled everything with professionalism and made sure our group was taken care of. On top of that, the course itself is absolutely stunning—immaculate conditions, breathtaking views, and a layout that’s both fun and challenging. What could’ve been a frustrating situation turned into a reminder of how great their customer service really is. Can’t wait to come back and play again

The original Gamble Sands course is a master class in fun golf course design. Varied holes, creative reveals and incredible views. The staff is all incredibly helpful and friendly. You really feel like you've gone somewhere special. We also got a sneak peak at Scarecrow and that is going to blow peoples socks off. There is a pretty good stretch of holes that's maybe as fun as I've ever seen. The new rooms are also great.

2 outstanding courses plus the Quicksands short course (didn't play it due to one of our group getting a golf injury). Serious maintenance team/program trying to make every golfer experience perfect conditions. Pricey, but when all is said and done, well worth it and we look forward to future visits. For me, best golf experience I've had in years.

What an interesting place! Very informative tour led by extremely personable members of the Smokejumpers! Eric, who is a pilot, gave us a tour of the plane and explained the procedures and equipment extremely well. Chase, one of the Smokejumpers took over the tour in the “loft”. He showed us their jump equipment and explained the jump process. There were photos to aid in understanding the perils of being a Smokejumper! Both guides were very friendly and knowledgeable! We appreciated their time and consideration. Well worth stopping to learn more about this unique and valued commodity. These people are making a difference!!

Visiting the smokejumper base was one of the highlights of my visit to Winthrop and WA. One of the firefighters gave a great tour of the base and provided a very detailed overview of the profession. These guys are heros who do unbelievable work stopping fires before they spread. I highly recommend visiting if you are in the area.

Awesome place for training and housing Smokejumpers, parachuting firefighters! Smokejumping started here in 1939, when US Forest Service worker, Francis Lufkin, started this mode of forest/wildfire fighting. Small airport is base for North Cascades in Washington. Interesting tour of base is great.
Roger M — Google review
The North Cascade Smokejumper Base, officially established in 1945, has a rich history and a significant role in combating forest fires in the United States. Its location outside Winthrop in Okanogan County's Methow Valley was initially chosen due to the valley's susceptibility to wildfires, making it an ideal site for developing and training an airborne firefighting force. The concept of using aircraft to combat forest fires dates back to 1919, with civilian pilots conducting air patrols over California, Oregon, and the Northern Rocky Mountains for fire detection and observation. The U.S. Forest Service, responsible for wildfire crisis response and resource management, began experimenting with aerial fire control in 1935. This led to the development of the smokejumping program in 1936, where supplies and eventually firefighters were air-dropped into remote fire locations, significantly reducing response times and resource expenditure. In recent activities, the North Cascades Smokejumpers have continued to play a crucial role in firefighting efforts. For instance, they were instrumental in containing the Pyramid Area Fires, utilizing strong initial attacks and ongoing efforts with water support from helicopters. Additionally, they were actively involved in addressing the Sourdough Fire in the Ross Lake National Recreation Area, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to managing and containing wildfires in challenging terrains and conditions. This dedication and effectiveness highlight the North Cascade Smokejumper Base as not only a historical site but also a crucial and active participant in modern firefighting and forest management.

What a Hoot! We arrived at the base and was greeted by Ivan, who is an actual smoke jumper. He gave us a thorough tour of the base explaining everything from packing their backpacks to jumping out of plane and the dynamics of firefighting. We got to walk through a working plane. We had lots of questions and he answered them all. There was no charge for the tour; we were just asked to buy a T-shirt or two ($20 ea) The T-shirts are really cool & made great gifts for the folks back home. In addition the total cost of the T-shirts goes toward helping fellow smoke jumpers & their families that are in need. If you have some extra time in Winthrop check the Smokejumpers Base out!!

Very nice memorial. Staff was helpful; let us know about some road closures due to fire and helped us plan a different route. The Osoyoos Desert Model Railroad is a captivating attraction featuring multiple trains running on over a kilometer of HO scale track through a sprawling diorama. The landscape depicts European towns and villages, complete with interactive sensors and scenes that transition into night mode and even simulate thunderstorms. Despite the small size for the price, visitors of all ages can appreciate the intricate details, from quirky hidden scenes to rolling landscapes.
Wonderful attraction. Great for any age. There's so much detail you could go three times and not see everything. The interactive sensors and scenes really help keep the little ones engaged. The whole setup can go into night mode and a thunderstorm too! There's funny little scenes hidden through out. Raunchy, accidents robberies, quaint little towns and rolling landscapes.

Not very big for the price. Just one large room. It was interesting to see but not worth almost $20 for two people. $5 is more realistic for what you get. Nice people. Very clean. Gift shop downstairs was very expensive. Would be nice if it had Air conditioning. We went here to escape the 40 degree heat wave in Osoyoos. It was very hot inside which was uncomfortable.

Great stop we've been to a couple of times. So many details to spot throughout the display and costs 6 of us less than $50 to get in. You can spend as much or as little time in the display as you would like!
Sam S — Google review
Great place to take little kids, however it's a horrifying place to take a train fan, especially if they like or have a model railroad. European trains and structures mixed with every toy that was approximately the right size. Most scenes looked like a toy store exploded. The track work is tight radiuses, flex track, and ugly turnouts.

Lake Osoyoos spans more than 5,700 acres and straddles the border of British Columbia, Canada and Washington state in the United States. The Okanagan River flows into Lake Osoyoos in a semi-arid region of British Columbia known as Desert Wine Country. This region has very low annual rainfall and some of the highest average temperatures in Canada. In fact, the lake is the warmest in Canada and is located in Canada’s only desert.

Nestled in the picturesque Cawston area, Crowsnest Vineyards is a delightful destination for food and wine enthusiasts alike. This charming winery, run by siblings Sascha and Ann Heinecke, offers an inviting patio where guests can savor wood-fired pizzas and fresh local dishes alongside their renowned wines. The atmosphere is enhanced by live music on select evenings, making it a perfect spot to unwind.
We had a lovely stay. We would have loved to stay 2 nights but time did not allow. I was pleasantly surprised that breakfast was included. Breakfast was great and the homemade bread wonderful. The cinnamon buns were difficult to resist. The staff were wonderful as well. We would go back in a heartbeat. Cawston is a beautiful area.

We came here for lunch. The schnitzel is a must! Food came in large portions and reasonably priced. Burger was also solid. NOTE:Brick oven pizzas are only available 4:30pm onwards so if you’re looking to try those, don’t come until dinner. Lunch didn’t seem to be busy on a long weekend so reservations likely aren’t needed. However they do have live music on Friday nights so reservations possibly are recommended. We didn’t go back for dinner as we weren’t in the area anymore.

Food is tasty. I give high marks to the schnitzel and my wife liked the Thai bowl. The rest of the party said their dishes were good. In the bakery make sure you don't touch the bread because it is for display and the baker will come out with your selection. A bit of a quirk but the signs are there.

The Missus and I visited the Crowsnest Vineyards Restaurant for lunch before our fruit run in Keremeos. We ate outside on the patio area on a nice autumn day. Service was excellent as the one server was the hostess, tended to other tables and also worked the bakery area. I had the Schnitzel which was very good as some that I have had in Germany and Austria. The accompanying hunter sauce was delicious. The Missus enjoyed a ginormous schnitzel sandwich which she was able to eat without deconstructing it. On the way out, we couldn’t resist the cinnamon buns, apple fritters and a couple loaves of freshly baked bread. We will certainly drop by again to try the wood fired pizzas.

Made a special trip with my family from Osoyoos (after buying some wonderful bread there) for a pizza and music night. Pizza was terrific, (however, had to ask for a menu and then had to ask for the price.. strange... and they really had no wine flights to choose from, sadly). Entertainment was a no show. Flies were overwhelming and service was..well..we ate.. perhaps hard to find staff in these areas. Too bad as we thought it would be a place to come back to ...

I always stop here on my way to Osoyoos and it never disappoints! This time I had the schnitzel and oh my goodness it was absolutely to die for! We will be back in September and you can bet I will be ordering it again. There is nothing better than sitting outside with a bottle of wine soaking in the gorgeous scenery.

I’ll start with the good: the food was great! However, there was an accidental food spillage all over me by one of the servers, whom decidedly never cleaned up the mess on the ground. These things happen, I get it, but after being told they would reimburse me for my stained shorts and never receiving more than a cricket for a few months I feel like the integrity of the management should be aired. Lastly, the benches around the area, offering a great vibe of the vineyard, cannot seat more than a 50lbs person as they are rotting and littered with bugs eating away at the rot. Maybe some TLC will do well for this place! Still hoping they stand true to their word and send the reimbursement!

We played an evening of mini golf here. Parking is behind or along the street. There's 18 holes, and each one was quite unique. Compared to our usual annual mini golf in Parksville, this place is better! Some of the difficulties make the experience fun and challenging. The pacing was also good. The way they designed the holes allowed them to compact things but not give you the experience of being crowded. This is an excellent mini golf park. We definitely recommend Rattlesnake Canyon!

The atmosphere at Rattlesnake Canyon was enjoyable, with a lively crowd and a decent range of attractions. While it was busy, the wait times for rides were surprisingly reasonable. However, the experience was dampened by a few issues. The day pass felt overpriced considering the limited number of available activities, and the parking situation was quite tight. Most disappointing was the encounter with a rude agent at the ticket counter, which got the day off to a less-than-ideal start. With some improvements in service and value, the park could offer a much better experience. In the end, my son loved the various rides and activities. Ride attendants including of Trampoline were great.

Such fun for the whole family. The staff are friendly and want to make sure everyone has a good time. They checked in with my 4 year old on the Bungee Tree to see if she wanted to go up high or not and respected her wishes to just jump on the trampoline. When I went on the swings I was told if I started to feel sick or scared to just give the guy a thumbs down and he'd stop the ride. Overall, pretty affordable too, all things considered. There is no entrance fee so it just depends on how much you want to do.

We went after sunset and got the day pass tickets for 2 adults. However we quickly realized the rides in the package aren't too thrilling for adults, so I would recommend just buying the go kart and mini golf experience individually instead. Lucky for us the staff was able to get us the mini golf in exchange for rest of our tickets for the other rides. The best part was we were allowed to finish the mini golf course past the closing time. There was another group couple holes behind us as well, which was really appreciated.

Worth visiting with kids make sure to check age restrictions and height restrictions. Not suitable for small kids but my daughter is 9 she can get in to most of the rides without trouble.

I drove up from Abbotsford for a random round of mini golf with my wife and kids! To my lack of planning we were rained out within 5 min of getting there (4hr drive lol) and the front desk gave us a rain check! We had a week camping trip planned in Gallagher mid August and planned on using the rain check but I forgot it at the campsite and Paul the owner had no issue trusting me! He accidentally gave us all day passes not mini golf passes and after golf told the staff to which they were very impressed we didn’t use the all day rides pass! We came back again for rides and paid for them gladly due to how we were treated! Yes there is limited rides as ppl say but for the space they have they use it well! The manager treated my sons above and beyond and helped my daughter for a ride and had a great talk with him! As I was enjoying icecream ( I think it was me that dripped it :( sorry Paul!) the owner walked by and noticed a drip of icecream on the walk way ahead and instantly got someone to wipe it up……. He’s always walking around ensuring park is clean and running well! If you’re visiting the area I highly recommend you check this place out as it’s a annual tradition for us and as long as Paul and the manager are there we will keep coming back!

Nestled in the stunning Osoyoos reservation of southern Okanagan Valley, Nk'Mip Cellars stands as a proud testament to Indigenous heritage, being the first Indigenous-owned winery in North America. Visitors can indulge in captivating tours and tastings while soaking up breathtaking lake views.
We had an excellent wine tasting experience at Nk'Mip Cellars! The wines were outstanding—beautifully crafted with great variety and depth. The staff were welcoming and knowledgeable, making the whole visit even more enjoyable. A must-visit for any wine lover!

My family and I had a great experience with wine tasting and of course delicious food. The employees there are absolutely the friendliest people I've met. The whole area designed in such a great shape that you don't want to leave. And not to mention the restaurant view, stunning!

I will start by saying that the food was excellent. However, everything else during our experience was not. We arrived for our 1pm reservation, we received water and our order was taken. After 30 minutes I had to go ask for more water and we did not receive our drinks - wine and beer - until 1:45. And only because I went to ask. We had placed our food order at the same time. We had to ask about our food at 2:15. When it finally came, the food was delicious. One item did not arrive. One bill was incorrect. The view was exceptional. After 2.5 hours with no manager, and no explanation, the experience only deserves a one star rating because the food was very good.

Food was good, had the mussels which were quite small, wondering if they were freshwater but still tasty, tried their bannock, very good. Their pitcher of sangria was lovely! Great outdoor patio and view, provided nice umbrellas when it got too hot to sit under the sun. Made reservations but likely don’t need to as we saw other tables free for lunch.

Had two exceptional meals here while staying at Spirit Ridge. Also had a pleasant wine tasting with Loyd, who knows what he’s talking about despite the missing “L”. For lunch, the turkey and brie sandwich was delicious. Others had the pizza cooked in the $30,000 oven. The dining companions were kind enough to share, and so I can report that the ‘za gets a mark of A+. They have topping combinations you are unlikely to see elsewhere. For the less adventurous, they will cobble together a plain cheese pizza. For dinner on another date, had the Indigenous Flavours meal. It was terrific. A particular shout out to the server Luke from New Zealand. A misunderstanding led to the belief on our part that pizza would be an option. Upon being seated, we were informed that the pizza option stopped 45 minutes prior. Our Kiwi server, true to his Jedi namesake, used some mind trick to convince the chef to make an exception. Thus we managed to avoid the ire of the youngest child; Pizza delivered. The portion sizes were fine, but some might find they were a tad small. The price was appropriate for the venue; pizzas are about $25. As for the atmosphere, I doubt you will find a better view anywhere on the planet.

The wines are wonderful, worth visiting for a tasting! We found the process a bit odd - arrived at 5:20pm and was unsure about weather a tasting could happen (they close st 6pm). We were able to do a tasting- Ron served us and was awesome, a great experience and lovely wines. They do not waive the tasting fees regardless of purchase (even if you purchase several cases). Overall, worth visting but book ahead.

We went to the Nk'Mip Cellars after doing the culture center walk, we went to do the Wine Tasting and our wine expert Faye was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about all the wines we tried. We enjoyed the wine and took a bottle home as well, would highly recommend! Thanks again Faye for the great experience :)

Visitor Centers
The Nk'Mip Desert Cultural Centre is a conservation and learning center that showcases the desert environment and First Nations culture. Visitors can enjoy theaters, trails, and a sculpture garden while learning about the local flora, fauna, and indigenous history. The center's display areas are informative and engaging with interesting creatures such as rattlesnakes on view. There is also a gift shop stocked with locally made items by indigenous makers at various price points.
Visiting the Desert Centre in Osoyoos was an incredible experience that I highly recommend to anyone exploring the area. It’s the perfect place to immerse yourself in the beauty and uniqueness of the desert environment while learning so much along the way. Walking along the boardwalk, we got an up-close look at fascinating desert wildlife, from rare plants to birds and small animals, all thriving in this unique ecosystem. It’s amazing to see how life adapts to the harsh desert conditions. The guided tour was very informative and engaging, offering deep insights into the region’s history, environment, and the traditional ways of life of the Indigenous peoples who have lived here for generations. What really stood out to me was how family-friendly the Desert Centre is. Kids will absolutely love it — between the interactive exhibits, the chance to spot wildlife, and the opportunity to learn about desert survival and culture, there’s so much to keep young visitors interested and excited. The staff and volunteers were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, answering questions and sharing stories that made the whole experience even more memorable. If you're looking for an unforgettable desert adventure that's both educational and fun, especially for families, Desert Centre Osoyoos is the perfect place. It’s a must-visit destination that offers a rare glimpse into a beautiful and often overlooked part of Canada’s natural heritage.

Our visit to the Nk’Mip Desert Cultural Centre was an absolute highlight of our trip. The admissions fee for our family of three was very reasonable, and the ticket agent was exceptionally kind, friendly, and helpful. Since it was a Sunday, she even gave us a 15% discount, which was a pleasant surprise. She took the time to explain the loop trail and informed us about the day’s events, which made our experience smooth and enjoyable. The museum itself offers rich and thoughtful displays about the history and culture of the Okanagan people—both engaging and educational. The 1.5 km loop trail was easy to walk and full of interesting sights, including opportunities to learn more about desert ecology. Along the way, we found plenty of great spots to take memorable photos. One of the highlights was the snake presentation in the theatre, led by a biology researcher. She was knowledgeable and engaging, offering fascinating insights into local wildlife. Parking was plentiful, the hiking experience was excellent, and the entire atmosphere of the centre was peaceful, informative, and family-friendly. We highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area—it’s well worth it.

An absolute gem and must visit! The girl at front desk was so welcoming and helpful. Their new interactive exhibit ‘Tricksters’ was great as well but my favorite was the outdoor trails among the sagebrush and the village. Oh and the architecture of the building is just as brilliant!

The Centre was really good! I recommend visiting in the early morning or afternoon for a better chance to see wildlife. We only spotted some birds, unfortunately. The customer service was amazing. We had our little dog with us, which is usually not allowed in the park. Since it was hot outside and we couldn’t leave her in the car, the reception kindly let us bring her in and prepared a room with AC where she could stay comfortably in her box. Overall, it was a great experience, and I highly recommend visiting—especially for those who want to escape the dry, hot weather! 😬

I loved my experience here. Since I showed up at the end of the day, I wasnt charged a fee as I wasnt able to get very far but its a very spiritual place. I loved the trails, I love the facility, I loved the power you can feel of the people whose land it is. Im Cree from northern Saskatchewan and the young lady at the gift shop was from North Battleford Saskatchewan, that was a nice little laugh for us. I enjoyed my time and bought a Kokum scarf and some earrings.

A Truly Special Place – Worth Visiting More Than Once! We loved our visit so much that we came back the very next day! The area is rich with natural beauty—plenty of wildlife to observe and listen to, peaceful pine trees to rest under, and well-maintained shared spaces that make it easy to relax and connect with nature. One of the highlights was exploring the village and learning about the history and culture of the Osoyoos Indian Band. It added so much depth and meaning to our experience. This place is a perfect blend of serenity, nature, and heritage. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind and connect with something deeper.

Worth every penny going for a learning experience indoor and outdoor. It takes you on a desert hike with some interactive displays. Sent a leisurely good 2 hours here. Very safe for a single person to explore on their own as well. Buy tickets at the front door in the building.

Wonderful cultural and geographical interpretation centre. I suggest going early in the morning at the heat is oppressive in the afternoon and the trails have little to no shade. Even in our short visit as we showed up just before closing time I learned a lot and enjoyed the experience. We will return another time and walk the full trail.

1000/10. Best winery I have genuinely EVER been to. Every time they said a different note or smell or taste in the wine, you could taste it very prominently. The owner was absolutely fantastic and gave so many details about the grapes and different wines. You could really tell they cared about the product they were selling and the experience you had. The property was fantastic, I felt like I was in a European Villa. Atmosphere, customer service, wine all 1000/10. The only way to get this wine is to get it shipped from them or to go to the winery directly. I highly recommend stocking up. Do yourself a favor and come here!

Our absolute favorite winery! We always end up buying a full case for ourselves and another for friends — and then keep ordering online, because their wines are the only thing that make those long Saskatchewan winters survivable (honestly, they should be prescribed for it!). Every wine is a gem: the unforgettable Sage white, their exquisite dessert wines, and the excellent dry reds that are impossible to resist. Tastings are free and include everything, so you really get to explore their whole range. Anna and her sister are true enthusiasts who know their craft inside out — warm, welcoming, and full of passion for what they do. Every visit feels special, and you will definitely not leave empty-handed. We absolutely adore this place!

This place was such a cool and unique experience! The wines were really different and we loved it. From the moment we got there, everything was great—the rose gardens and statues were beautiful. Our hostess was awesome and made it a really fun time. Definitely worth a visit!

This winery is the bar every other winery should aspire to. The owner was both entertaining and extremely informative. She is so passionate about her wines! Obviously she is adventurous in her different combinations for her wines. Hands down, the best wines anywhere. Thank you for a fun tasting.

My boyfriend’s family and I had such a wonderful experience here. We went for a tasting, as we found out they have a special selection of wines, specifically fortified wines. John was extremely knowledgeable and had such a great sense of humor. He had us laughing and really enjoying our time there. We were so impressed with the wide selection of dessert wines. Every single one was delicious, and had unique properties, and reflected high standards for their production process. We won’t share how many we purchased ;) They definitely have our business! It was so nice to sit on the bench outside, take in the view, and enjoy the sounds of the water. Thank you John! We will be back!

We stumbled upon this lovely winery for a spontaneous tasting and had no idea what a treat we were in for. The wines were exceptional — beautifully balanced and full of character — but what truly made the experience unforgettable was the owner. Knowledgeable, welcoming, and genuinely entertaining, they brought warmth and wit to every pour. It was the perfect ending to an already great weekend.

Silver Sage is absolutely a standout winery! The stunning grounds- with beautiful roses and a tranquil pond- create a breathtaking setting. We enjoyed a generous tasting of 13 fruit-forward wines with no fee, guided by a witty and knowledgeable server who kept us laughing throughout. Honestly, I could have taken home a bottle of every wine…. they were all that good! We ended up buying four bottles. Don’t miss this gem- hands down our favourite winery in Osoyoos!

Love this place! 💛 The team is super friendly and professional, and everything runs so smoothly. Their wines are absolutely delicious — the Pinot Blanc is light and crisp, like taking a bite of a white nectarine 🍑, and the Gewürztraminer with sage is so unique and aromatic. Definitely one of my favorite wineries in the Okanagan! 🍷
