The walk was great! Love seeing stuff like this! I'm glad it is maintained well. If you are going to check it out, I would recommend sandals or flip-flops due to the final stretch of the path being on the beach. The tides will come in soaking your shoes. Swimming on this beach isn't recommended, and I wouldn't go past your knees due to the tides.
Demora P — Google review
Easy hike. Great sights of the North shore and photo opportunities

The view was phenomenal and the water was so clear. I can't wait to visit again
J M — Google review
Such a beautiful park! Definitely worth a visit. Just make sure you have bug spray
Amit P — Google review
Beautiful, small park with a short boardwalk / trail to the beach through wetlands. The beach is a mix of pebble and sand, bordered by gorgeous mature deciduous trees and thick undergrowth to the west and lake Erie to the east. At the end of the beach (about 800 meters from the trailhead) is the lighthouse. We were delighted to see five (5!) large snakes in the bushes near the lighthouse, only one of which seemed at all disturbed by our presence. This would be a nice beach to linger on for a while (but note that there are no facilities nearby).
Sara S — Google review
Beautiful walk to the lighthouse !! A short board walk and path through the marsh… so much lush green and wildlife! And amazing view of the lighthouse once you reach the beach! Went twice… at sunset and again the next day!
Paige K — Google review
Pristine beach and so much nature. The lighthouse is in ruins so not much to see. One cannot go inside as its locked. However the beach is amazing an: calm place to be in.

Perry's Victory & International Peace Memorial

Mentioned on

Memorial park
Sights & Landmarks
Perry's Victory & International Peace Memorial is a must-visit attraction on South Bass Island. The 352-ft.-tall column commemorates the Battle of Lake Erie and offers breathtaking views from its observation deck. Visitors can enjoy historical reenactments and lessons from park rangers, gaining insights into the War of 1812. The memorial serves as a tribute to those who fought in the battle and promotes peace among the US, UK, and Canada.
This is a must visit if you head to Put-in-Bay for any amount of time. In addition to the monument being an absolute marvel, the amount of history here is incredible. The park rangers are incredibly knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions you have. To top it off, six of us got to ride the elevator to the observation deck for around $30 or so. Go and enjoy.
Lee B — Google review
In summer visiting put-in bay feels even better than any of the other very famous places across all of America. Lovely island, beautiful lake all around, awesome food choices in the island and lots of activities.
Debsankar D — Google review
This site was much more than I expected. I had no idea that it is the 3rd tallest monument in the country. The visitor center is quite nice with lots of displays providing background on Perry and his role in the War of 1812. The grounds are well kept and the monument itself is impressive. Going up to the observation deck was fun and the views of Put in Bay island were stunning. Unfortunately the monument is closing soon for major and long lasting restoration.
Kelly R — Google review
The park is small, but well worth the boat ride out to see it. My kids loved the boat ride, taking the elevator up the tower, exploring the top of the monument, and completing the Junior Ranger activity book. The visitor center has a small museum with lots of information and a small store. There was also an art activity happening but we did not attend. It was a fun day, despite the rain.
Jennifer W — Google review
We really had a great time visiting Perry's Memorial. Half the fun is getting there. Its only open for part of the year because the island of Put-In-Bay basically closes for the winter months. The Island is charming, full of great places to eat. The memorial itself is informative, and the views stunning!
Todd G — Google review
Very cool experience! Well worth the money. Use the free binoculars they offer, you can see so far out with them. I had fun finding and identifying every island I could find.
Jaymes W — Google review
Had a wonderful time! Will return they offer a lot of information about the tower in the visitors center reenactments on the side lawn. My daughter even got engaged that day! 🫶🏼
Kristi N — Google review
Wonderful visitor center(opens 10am, closes 5pm) with lots of information about the war of 1812 and how the monument was built. This is a seasonal National Monument so opens early May and closes end of September. Buy your tickets to go to the top of the monument at the visitor center. Numerous types of park passes can be purchased here too. 2026 and 2027 the monument will be closed for renovation but enjoy the grounds and visitor center will still be open!

Heineman Winery

Mentioned on

Winery
Food & Drink
Heineman Winery is a longstanding winery located on an island, offering cellar tours and tastings. The wine garden is a beautiful spot to enjoy their quality wines made from grapes grown on the island. Visitors can explore the winery's interesting history and see past and current equipment used in the winemaking process. The tour provides insight into the production of different wines and juices, making it an educational experience for all ages.
Unique tour of a staple winery in the Ohio region. It is such a cool place to visit. Along with your tour you receive a glass of wine or grape juice of your choice. Our tour guide was fantastic. It is a short tour but worth it. You can also order your wine and have it delivered to the dock so you don’t have to haul it around all day.
Hayley M — Google review
Unique destination! The cave is one of a kind. The wine was just okay. Friendly staff. Very reasonable prices in the gift shop.
Heather K — Google review
The 2 quick tours were $14 for both. They don’t sell the tours separately. First check out the world’s largest geode-very cool. Then have a look at how wine is made. Lastly, enjoy a cup of either wine or grape juice with your ticket. Fun experience for the whole family. I would bring my kids here to check this out.

The wine was very good and the crystal cave was super interesting! Definitely a good recommend
Gretchell H — Google review
The Crystal Cave was absolutely stunning! The crystals inside were so unique and worth seeing. Our tour guide made the experience even better; he was very knowledgeable and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. After exploring the cave, we walked through the winery itself where we learned about how the wines and grape juice are made. It was really interesting to get a peek into the production process. We finished with a tasting at the bar, with the tall pretty woman who gave us the tour in which was a great way to end the tour. Overall, a fun and educational experience! would recommend to anyone and families or singles!
Reece P — Google review
The cave is NOT worth it. The cave tour is packaged with a winery tour. My kids had seen the cave across the street and wanted to see this one. For me and my kids it cost $40 for this tour. You go down 40 stairs into a room no bigger than a closet, and...well, that's it. Literally it's no bigger. The crystals are cool to look at for 12 seconds, then you wonder why you dropped $40 to do this. Not trying to be overly critical but I felt really ripped off. If you want to see the "cave" just look at the images on Google and spend your money on the wine instead. To be fair the place is a great winery for sweet wines and air conditioning to cool off... The cave, skip it.

This place was absolutely amazing. We went here for my birthday and it definitely did not disappoint. All the workers were very helpful and friendly, but one girl who stood out and went above and beyond was an adorable girl named Serena. She made our visit and even took a ton of pictures of me and my girlfriend feeding the giraffes so we could enjoy our experience. Serena deserves a raise!!! We also went through the drive-through safari twice and the indoor sanctuary twice. This place is absolutely worth the money, and we saved a lot buying tickets online. We will certainly be back.
Jeremiah K — Google review
Great little zoo to visit with kids! The selection of animals is nice, the size is just right. A lot of animals are allowed to be fed. I took my kids there, various ages, everyone was happy and excited. We went in the afternoon before they close, and I think the only ones we didn't get to see were tortoises. Walk around and the drive-through took us approximately 2 hours all together. Highly recommend.
Polina S — Google review
This was a great adventure. I'm not sure I would take a really nice car in the drive thru but you might be good. The animals did have our mirrors folded in before we were done. Go when its warm and the giraffes should be out so save some lettuce for the end. The walk through zoo was also very nice. All the employees were friendly. Buy the tickets on line and save a little time and money.
Mark H — Google review
All I can say is wow this place was awesome. We drove through twice just for the experience and the animals had us laughing and screaming the whole way. We also did the walk-through part of the park which I thought was going to be a bit boring, but it too was awesome. Especially the Aviary building. Highly recommend buying the sticks with seeds on them and the birds come right to you and land on your hands and on your should. The staff was also fantastic. We did have to go to the car wash afterwards because we are slobbered so badly but that made it fun. I will do this again during our next visit to Put-in bay. People talk about the price of it and yes, it’s a bit pricey, but when compared to some of the cave and gemstone things out on the island which were totally not worth the cost this place blew them away. The cost helps the upkeep, that bills, and just day-to-day operations. Well worth it.
Thomas Z — Google review
Absolute great time!! Dont take a new car though. Animals will do anything to get to the feeding buckets when in the drive through area. Zoo type area was lots of fun too. Great place for families or even just couples. Took my parents here with my wife and will absolutely come back!
Tommyz T — Google review
Loved it! I highly suggest keeping all windows closed that there isn't a person in the seat, the animals will steal anything they find interesting 😂 Luckily, I had a hesitant little one with me so I only had the front windows open but they come from all sides. They definitely know vehicle= food. We bought the $18 extra food and ran out before we got to the first gate. The highland cattle are VERY persistent, we had to roll up the windows to keep their heads out after throwing food to distract them 😂. The cattle and llamas surround your vehicle making it impossible to move at times. I definitely wanted to bring the alpacas, llamas, and even the rude intrusive highland home with me. They are SO cute! Also just a warning the Highlands bang (unintentionally) up against your vehicle with their horns, and they are messy slobbery eaters 😂, so if you have an option of vehicles to bring, don't bring your best. Also the alpacas like to chew on parts of vehicles, so have plenty of food lol
Jessica D — Google review
drove from michigan and would say it was well worth it!! having such an up close and personal experience with animals you normally don’t get to be that close to was amazing. the food wasn’t astronomically priced and you can go through as many times as you want as long as you have food left. (some of the animals are persistent so i can’t imagine driving through with no food to distract them) **also the walk around zoo was so much fun and it was nice to stretch our legs!!
BrieAnna H — Google review
Was an very nice place maybe back in the day but now it seems alot of the anaimals are missing. Was sad to see that as I thought we would see a good amount of anaimals which is what im use to when going to zoos. The pig looking animal I domt know if they live like that in the wild but I felt bad for him. Some of the anaimals seem lonely and honestly I felt thr price should if been cheaper as there is alot missing. I wouldn't ever go back because it wasnt to my liking but ya know whatever floats your boat.

Beautiful Friday evening and incredible music; great weekly summer event!
Beinbagger — Google review
Last year we rented kayaks from this location and while mine was new and in good condition my friend’s kayak was not maintained and allowed water to enter causing it to sink. We had to go on an island empty it and come back. This year due to the amazing river views we opted to try again. We both made a rental for 8am and no one was there. The phone goes to voicemail as well. I am appalled at the lack of customer service and care with this location.

This organization really has the city of Lorain's best interest in mind. Without them we wouldn't have Rockin On The River, which is one of my favorite things to attend in the summer. I'm always excited to see what they do with Midway Mall since they are the owners now!

Cedar Point

Amusement park
Water & Amusement Parks
Cedar Point is a vast amusement park featuring an array of water slides, thrilling rides, roller coasters, and entertainment options. The Cedar Point Museum provides an intriguing look into the history of this renowned park, showcasing its evolution from a lakeside resort to a globally recognized entertainment destination. Visitors can explore original roller coaster models and learn about the park's legacy.
Cedar Point is absolutely amazing! The rides are packed with fun and thrills from start to finish it truly lives up to its reputation as the roller coaster capital. We went during Halloweekends, and that took the experience to a whole new level. The park was covered in spooky Halloween décor, with themed attractions and special activities that made the atmosphere even more exciting. Between the coasters, the seasonal events, and everything else the park has to offer, one day just isn’t enough you’ll definitely want more time to experience it all!
Nijanand S — Google review
Absolutely amazing amusement park! The roller coasters here are top notch and from online info they are consistently ranked top in the country! There are also other fun rides like a 300 foot tall swing ride, a gondola down the middle of the park, and a good amount of little kids rides. There is also an indoor arcade area. Any roller coaster enthusiast will love this park, but families will have fun too! The food is also pretty good, with good portions, and the meal plan is definitely worth it!
Matthew Z — Google review
I came this year for hallo weekends. The best day of all was actually Halloween. The crowds were low and we were able to get on all the rides very quickly. A few rides like the millennium we are able to get right back on as soon as we got off. The amount of effort put into decorating the park is amazing. It really does give you a spooky fall natural vibe. The haunted houses are a lot of fun too. The best places to eat in my opinion are the pavilion and the barbecue place. The mixed drinks are way too sugary and not enough alcohol though. I recommend finding a bar that serves liquor and doing a shot. We got tequila shots at the one place in the pioneer village area and they were basically like doubles. If your time is limited it's a busy day you may want to invest in a fast pass. On a busy day you can wait up to 2 hours for some of these roller coasters. I also visited in the summer. The water park there is pretty nice. They have some water slides a lazy river and a nice beach. Cedar point is definitely the premier roller coaster destination in North America. I love the top thrill 2, The Magnum, the millennium, and really most of the other roller coasters there. If you're staying over I recommend sawmill Creek It is a resort like atmosphere there and they have two pools and hot tubs. I haven't stayed at hotel breakers but I have stayed at castaway Bay and I don't like those rooms there. They remind me of prison cells. Overall I definitely recommend visiting cedar point if you never have. It is in a great location near the Lake Erie Islands and a lot of other fun things that you can do.
Scott E — Google review
Absolutely one of the best amusement parks in the world without a question. I try to make it here at least once a year and especially during the Halloween season because I love seeing everything all decked out. Waits for rides can get long, so I definitely recommend fast pass, or packing your patience and something to do in line. If the weather is bad there isn't a ton inside to do which is a bummer.
Eliott S — Google review
I drove 2.5 hours from Michigan to check out Cedar Point’s Halloweekends, and while the event itself was fun, there were definitely some frustrating parts. Parking was chaotic and poorly managed, and the wait times for rides and haunted houses were painfully long. Fast Lane passes were available, but at over $400 for two people, it felt way too expensive just to skip the lines. That said, the rides were awesome once we finally got on — especially at night with the Halloween atmosphere — and the food was actually really good. The park was decked out in spooky decor, with fog, lights, and scare actors creating a great vibe. Overall, it was a fun experience, but between the long drive, rough parking, and high costs, it wasn’t quite as smooth or worth it as I hoped.
Kailon L — Google review
Hallow Weekends at Cedar Point are always so much fun. The Conjuring Haunted House was a really cool touch this year! Great roller coasters, all kinds of good food. I really like this theme park
Karin T — Google review
First time visiting. I went for the roller coasters and was not disappointed. Food was a lot better than I was expecting. I think there needs to be more drink stations, it takes way too long to get a drink most of the time. Parking was good, but I did arrive early. Early entry doesn't get you much because all the coasters that are open immediately have long lines and fast lane doesn't open early.
Matt G — Google review
We went for Halloweekends on Nov. 1st. It was my kids (ages 8 and 9) first experience with Halloweekends, and I myself haven't been to Halloweekends since I was a kid. We stayed until 12am when they close. I will start with the NEGATIVE first: took 3 stars bc it wasn't scary like at all. There were a lot of parts of the park that had no creepy music playing so it didn't feel very Halloweeny and there's weren't any scary dressed up people walking around unless you were in the Frontier Town part of the park and even then there was like only 5 ppl walking around. Anything scary you just weren't allowed to enter unless you paid A LOT of money for in advance. Family with multiple kids just can't afford that. So the kids and I were pretty disappointed they couldn't go into ANY attraction, no corn maze, no haunted houses eventhough we are Gold Pass holders. They're going to lose money this coming year if they go that again I think. The Positive: We still had a great time as the kids are still young. The bands were absolutely AMAZING!! Honestly that was what really made the visit so magical. The decorations were so great too! Wait time wasn't horrible and weather was nice. PLEASE make it scarier and ACCESSIBLE next year. Know your audience. This is Ohio and we don't have money to pay extra when we already spend hundredsss on membership passes. It's messed up.

Lakeview Park

Park
Nature & Parks
Recreation spot on the shore of Lake Erie, with a beach, playground, gazebo & venerable rose garden.
Beautiful shoreline. Unfortunately, people don't obey the rules and they just let their dogs run on the beach and play in the water even though the sign says "NO ANIMALS ON THE BEACH". Even told a woman and her big uncontrollable Shepard, she said oh...then proceeded to take her dog down to the beach and take it off the leash. The elderly couple that were down there got splash by it and left. Obey the rules so you don't ruin it for others. 😬Don't be so self centered!

I always go here to watch sunsets and do some grounding . Re center myself ! Its a lovely beach that they keep relatively clean ! Just stay behind the rock walls . Dont jump off them or swim out past them!

A nice park right on the lake. The beach area was nice and you can see the Lorain lighthouses in the distance. The restrooms were clean as well. Pavilion and picnic areas are also available.

Lakeview Park is such a scenic and fun place to visit. I love the lake beach with its lifeguards in summer and the chance to paddleboard or kayak on calm water. The Rose Garden is gorgeous, especially at dusk, and the bathhouse & playground make it feel welcoming for families. Perfect spot to catch sunsets and relax with friends or family.

Beautiful park with incredible lakefront coast and awesome beach access for ALL to enjoy beach activities and swimming. Grounds are beautifully maintained and expansive. They include a rose garden, fountain, picnic areas, and many open spaces for fun activities. Parking is plentiful. There are paved walkways to enable wonderful wheelchair access with many walkways along park to rose garden, and along coast even multiple paved walkways throughout that enable access all the way across coast line and down to the beach.

We were on a motorcycle ride and just stopped by to stretch and use the restroom. This is a very nice, well kept park with great views of Lake Erie. It also has a sandy beach for swimming. The restroom is clean and flushing. We even learned about the purple martins nesting there. The audubon society volunteers were more than willing to educate us. Overall we had a great experience at this park.

Rating Food: 3/5 (The food was okay, but beautiful preparation of the food!) Service: 5/5 (Attention to detail, served with love!) Atmosphere: 5/5 (Beautiful restaurant and great decor!) If you're looking for a great spot to catch a game in Sandusky, Ohio, B-Lux Grill & Bar is definitely worth checking out! With its vibrant atmosphere, it’s a fantastic place to grab a quick bite or enjoy some time at the bar. I was initially drawn in by the stunning food photos displayed around the resort, and I’m really glad I decided to give it a try! The food presentation was impressive, and while the flavors were just okay, there were some standout items. I particularly enjoyed the unique, made-from-scratch burgers. The wings were decent as well, but the care taken in their preparation was evident. Overall, not a bad experience on the food front! What truly set this visit apart was the service. Our server, Robyne, was exceptional—she genuinely made us feel like family! Every time she came to our table, she brought a smile and positive energy. Robyne guided us through the menu seamlessly, and she even made the kids feel special by celebrating their birthday with them. That kind of attentive service really enhances the dining experience! The atmosphere at B-Lux Grill & Bar was also a highlight. The spacious restaurant boasted attractive decor and a lively vibe that complemented the menu perfectly. It was clean, inviting, and perfectly captured the theme of shakes and burgers. Overall, I had a great experience at B-Lux Grill & Bar! It’s a memorable place to enjoy some good food and have a fun time. I would definitely recommend it!

Went here for my partner and i's anniversary and it was AMAZING! Our server, Mel, was really sweet, made sure to check on us every so often, and fixed anything that was wrong. The food and shakes were delicious!! If we came back to Kalahari we're definitely going back to the restaurant!

This was our first visit to Kalahari, and B-Lux Grill & Bar truly exceeded our expectations. The food was absolutely incredible, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We were lucky to have Robyne as our server—she was exceptional, and we couldn’t have asked for better. Our 4 year old wanted to order her own shake just to get a cherry, Robyne came out after she took our order with a cup of cherries. Although we encountered an issue unrelated to the restaurant, Robyne quickly brought over her manager, Victor, who handled the situation promptly and professionally. Everything was resolved within minutes. Highly impressed!

Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums

Museum
Sights & Landmarks
The Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums is a captivating destination that offers a glimpse into the life of the 19th president and his wife, who both resided and are interred at Spiegel Grove. Visitors can explore the stunning estate, which includes an impressive home tour, a well-curated museum filled with original artifacts, and beautifully maintained grounds perfect for leisurely strolls. The house itself boasts over 20,000 square feet of space adorned with remarkable Bierstadt artwork.
This museum is well worth a visit. There is so much history to learn here. The home tour was very informative and gives a lot of insight into the life and times of this family. I guide was a fast talker but very knowledgeable. Could have spent more time here !
Celeste L — Google review
There's no question that the Hayes house and adjacent walks on Spiegel Grove are worthy of a visit, especially if you have any affection for presidential history. The grave is humble, despite the grounds and the property being quite grand. But on my arrival, after driving from Grand Rapids and Ann Arbor, MI (President Ford's Museum/Library), there seemed to be an air of something and someone always out of place, like the man talking into his phone so loudly, on business, that you could hear him anywhere in the grove, including the grave, even as a young girl walked beside him, constantly ignored. Or the other man walking and pumping rap music through headphones as he passed by the grave a few minutes later. It's a public walking area, so it comes with the territory, but it all fed into a larger observation. Because what most gave me pause was our house tour guide, a young man who was clearly (and surprisingly) knowledgeable of the house, the Hayes family, and a wealth of other historically valuable nuggets, but who never once paused to engage with us, to see if we were keeping up, if we had any questions. He spoke a mile-a-minute and checked his phone every time we moved between rooms, hopping through facts like he was in a race to recite a full Wikipedia page before 5pm. At one point, he mentioned that Hayes was the first to host an egg roll at the White House, so I spoke up to mention that Andrew Johnson had actually been the first to do so informally, to which our guide simply deferred to his own belief, insisted he was right, and moved on, prompting me to leave the tour before the second floor. I've been to 25 presidential graves, countless presidential homes, and always appreciate those who give tours with lots of knowledge, as this young man certainly did, but failure to engage with the people on your tour, maybe benefit from or inquire about the knowledge of others, is an unfortunate flaw in this otherwise peculiar marker of worthy history.

Great experience touring the Hayes home and the grounds. Our guide Bill was very knowledgeable and gave great insight to all of the generations of Hayes. The old photos of each room and the authentic updates...amazing experience. You can spend hours here if you tour the museum also.

This has been on our bucket list for awhile and we finally made it there. Tour of the home was very nice and the guides very knowledgeable and friendly. The museum was informative and shows how far our standards have fallen when comparing Presidencies from then and unfortunately now. Those who truly care about our democracy should visit these sites and become more informed as to what real leaders are and then take those lesson to the ballot box.

Great experience and great place to take your family, and learn the history of the Hayes family.

Today's daytime took us to the quaint town of Fremont and specifically the Hayes Memorial and Library. The Parkside grounds are a lovely setting for Hayes home and Museum. Our guide Garrett was knowledgeable and gracious. A great way to learn about Ohio's contributions to US history.
Phil P — Google review
We have visited all of the US Presidential Libraries and the museum portion was good. However, the Hayes house was very good. Our docent, Sarah, was super! She had a great personality and really knew the details about the house and the people who had lived in it. A few visitors asked questions that Sarah didn't know the answer but she had a tablet that she accessed quickly and supplied the answer. The grounds that surrounds the museum and house are absolutely beautiful and worth the time to walk around them. We spent about an hour and a half to visit the museum, the house tour was about an hour, and to walk around the grounds took about 45 minutes. In our opinion, it's a worth while visit.
Terri M — Google review
This is a great place to visit for anyone in the area, or passing through. The sheer amount of preserved historical items is astonishing. The museum is very well put together. Our tour guide for the residence was very informative, friendly, and kept the tour entertaining. For guests with disabilities, they even restored the elevator so you can see the second floor of the house.

This place is absolutely a ‘must see’ if you’re in the area!! Me (Rochester, NY) and my husband (Lindsay, Ontario Canada) just happened to see a sign for it on the expressway on a trip from NY to Michigan for a wrestling show he was in. And we are SO glad we made a stop on our way home!! We had a blast. You get to hear real phonographs, and you learn so many cool history facts that you never would have known otherwise. Our tour guide Dillon was absolutely incredible, what a wealth of knowledge he has. On top of him explaining inventions and the family’s interesting history, you also can ask him about any item you see in Edison’s house and he will tell you about it. He was so very informative and fun. Extremely worth the $12 admission!

Great place. The gift shop is small but is cool. There is a mueseum inside the house next to the place Edison was born. The tour is great for a lot of people. Prices are decent, if you're going alone or with a few people, it's a good deal. The museum is nice, filled with letters, his inventions, and things from his career and life. This is a must-see if you're in the area.

Went with the family here today and it was a terrific experience. Our guides Nick and Gabby were very fun, knowledgeable and did a great job balancing the zip line experience with the experience of being in nature. They were very positive and great at spotting where everyone needed help or encouragement. The 8 zip lines and 3 bridges took 3 hours so it was well worth the cost of admission. Make sure to hydrate beforehand as it can be humid. They are also good about providing drinking water bottles for everyone that clips onto your harness in case you get dehydrated. Would definitely come here again in the future.

Jared and Morgan were absolutely amazing tour guides. I have an issue with heights but wanted to do this as a challenge for myself. They both had very kind words of encouragement. I will definitely be back next season with a bigger group

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING! Jackson and Cavan were friendly, funny, knowledgeable, and truly provided a fun experience! They were great with adults and kids: making us all breathe a little easier. BEAUTIFUL property, well-maintained buildings, and zip lines. Don’t hesitate: put the tickets in your cart, and BUY THEM! This experience was the best, and so “close to home!”

This was my first time zip lining, and it was so much fun! Our guides Carly and Jackson were funny and made sure we all felt safe and comfortable each step of the way. The short educational session at the beginning was very helpful to ensure we knew all hand signals. I would highly recommend this place for any first time zip liners!

My son and I were first time canopy zip liners. Jared and Morgan were excellent guides. They were careful, patient and knowledgeable about the canopy area. We felt completely safe and had a blast. We will definitely do it again. The early Fall weekday time proved to be great as we had a two person tour in the cool quiet of the woods. A terrific experience!

This was honestly an amazing zip line experience, I have been on a couple and this is by far the best one yet. The guides are very personable and fun and the course is also fun and keeps going. This is about a 2-2.5 hour adventure there were 8 of us in the group that went out. Definitely would recommend and do again.

My mom and I did the Zipline Canopy Tour and it was absolutely amazing! We had Christian and Drake as our Tour Guides and they were just wonderful! They made the experience very comforting and so much fun and even told us some interesting facts along the way! And coming from someone who is afraid of heights this experience is definitely worthwhile! We definitely will be coming back again! Thank you again Drake and Christian for making a wonderful experience for my Mom and I!

Seneca Caverns

Nature & Parks
Caverns & Caves
Natural landmark featuring guided tours of underground caverns, gem mining & a picnic area.
Great time, tour is very technical -- basically a basic rock stair hike throughout. Definitely not a cave for the claustrophobic.
Andrew K — Google review
Really kool cave, worth a trip. This cave is a bit unique from all the caves I have visited, it is a fracture cave. This makes it a bit different in how it feels. It is tight in places and a little challenging. I would recommend you are of average health and can handle moderate physical exertion. Had a great time, I recommend visiting.
John B — Google review
Our 4 year old has been obsessed with visiting a cave since learning about them in preschool. This was the closest one to us so we decided to make it into a Sunday family day trip. We figured we didn’t have much to lose. I hate driving, but this trip was honestly worth it. We live about 1hr 45min away and spent about 2 hours at Seneca Caverns (20 minutes purchasing tickets, looking through the gift shop, and waiting for the tour to begin, 1 hour tour, 30 minutes doing the gem mining outside, 10 minutes taking family photos and loading up). I’m not sure what some people were expecting. It’s literally a crack in the earth some kids in the middle of Ohio found on accident. Did I say it isn’t cool though? I didn’t. Because it is! I’m not sure we were fully prepared for the inside. My advice is to wear some solid shoes. There are certainly slippery parts, areas you have to squeeze through, and tight spots where you might bump your head. The heart palpitations from watching your 4-your-old climb over uneven rocks situated directly next to 20 foot falls as they swat away your hand offering help is half the fun, right? Holding your breath each time you’re scrambling past what looks like a *perfect* place to make a misstep and tumble into a darkened pit below truly gives a parent a rush! We had three adults along with kids ages 4, 6, 9, and 10. You might want to skip taking an infant or your great grandparents…. but then again, you do you. I’m an obese woman pushing 40, in addition to being severely anemic, and I found it to be a pleasant sort of challenging. If you have children, buy the kid package with the sand bag o’ gems. That’s worth the extra $5 for sure. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Meaning we went once, and we’re so glad we did. Don’t miss out on adding this earth crack to your bucket list.
Grace S — Google review
Great tour to take on a hot day. We had a bigger group (10 person), and they were able to get us into one tour. Very knowledgeable tour guide.
Andrew D — Google review
Great time! Steep steps, so if you are out of shape or larger or elderly, you may find it a difficult tour, as some in our group did. The tour guides are helpful and patient though, and its really quite cool :)
Sarah K — Google review
The caverns were nice. There was a lot of climbing, so you will get some physical work out. They have a very nice gift shop and the staff are wonderful and very friendly.
Grace N — Google review
While enjoying a mini vacation we planned to stop and check out the caverns before we headed back home. We were able to buy tickets for the next tour and had about a 20 minute wait until it started. So we wandered the gift shop. Our tour guide was friendly and informative. We were able to go down until we got to water. Really cool caverns with some cool history. Had a great time.
Cathie K — Google review
This experience was an absolute waste of time and money - $96 for four of us. When we got to level one, everything in me screamed that we should just turn around and go out, but I kept assuming it was actually going to have something cool. I was very wrong. You know they don’t have very much to offer when they show you a concrete bag to keep you entertained. The tour takes an hour, which I can only assume is necessary for them to justify the $24 ticket price. Because we could’ve been in and out of there in 15 minutes if the tour guide hadn’t kept saying unnecessary stuff. We had to stop every 5-10 minutes so she could ask us if anyone had any questions. When we finally got to the lowest level, she showed us the water at the bottom by shining her flashlight on a little crevice. It was less than thrilling. Also, if you’re taller than about 5’7”, you’re going to have to crouch for much of it. And yeah, I get that that should be understood in a cave, but it does make the ridiculous frequent stops to listen to the tour guide much more maddening.

Shopping
Nestled in Lodi, just a short drive from Canton, the Ohio Station Outlets is a hidden gem for bargain hunters. With over 60 outlet stores, shoppers can find fantastic deals on brand-name merchandise. While the mall has seen better days and some stores have closed, those that remain offer quality products worth exploring. Notably, Bath & Body Works and the Uniform Store continue to draw visitors with their reliable selections.
Quite a sad seeing this place today; however, the few stores that remain are worth going for! Bath & Body works Is the closest around, and the uniform Store is always has what I need! I remember going as a child, riding the train and having a nice time out with my parents when the place was booming, I do hope the Outlet is able to "Come back Tomorrow" as all the signs say. Stop by, and have a look around.

The Ohio outlets is an amazing place unfortunately it has seen better days the food court is very empty nothing's in their. The trains gone. And theirs not many stores left their is a few good ones but it's pretty empty. And theirs only two bathrooms opened the food court and aisle 5. Minus that it's a great outlet mall to walk around in.

This place no longer exists. It is closed and empty. There's nothing there except a few construction workers and the directions to It Absolutely sucked in the first place. Because it takes you in the wrong way, but it doesn't matter. Because it's not there. THE ENTIRE PARKING LOT WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY. THE DOORS ARE CLOSED. THERE'S NOTHING THERE. THE ONLY PEOPLE THAT WERE AT THIS PLACE WERE A FEW CONTRACTORS. ALL WEARING CLASS, 3 YEARS FLUORESCENT CLOTHING, NOTHING ELSE EXISTSTHERE !!!!!!!!!
Bryan B — Google review
Very sad what’s become of this place. It is a shadow of its former self. It’s like a ghost town. I saw what I thought was someone eating their food in the food court, only to realize that it was someone teaching a CPR Class.
Tool M — Google review
I remember this as a very busy place, filled with stores, and shoppers, but those days are gone, it is now filled with empty store fronts, and memories of what once was. The only store that I went into was The Wrangler Clearance Store. I found a good selection of both Wrangler and Lee's apparel. I pick up to nice pairs of Reggs pants for $15 each. I will go back.
David L — Google review
Its such a shame alot of it is shutdown and looks like an old abandoned place only few stores left here. Very creepy walking through the food place now with it all empty.

An amazing shopping experience. I had great customer service. Many great store and awesome deals to be had! I got a great deal on an oil decanter at the kitchen supply store. Super clean and a great train ride for the family. I make it a point to stop as often as I can. I always bring my loved ones to share in the savings. Forget cupons just come here instead.
Jack T — Google review
Few stores remain. I drove 20 miles out of my way, only to find nothing of interest. The tracks, for the railroad, have been torn up. The idea of having a train, as an attraction, for those not interested in shopping, seems like a good idea.

Take a cooler bag if traveling because you will want everything! My daughter and I randomly stopped while traveling to Medina. We split a cheese curd and mozzarella stick from the cafe. There is so much to see and the chocolate shop is definitely worth stopping at to taste. The man making woven baskets has an incredible talent but bring cash. He doesn't take plastic. I will be back for a basket and some dips and cheese! Highly recommend stopping to explore and sample as much cheese as you want. ❤️

Kingwood Center Gardens in Mansfield, Ohio is a stunning 47-acre former estate transformed into magnificent gardens in 1953. It offers a visual feast with its captivating beauty and unique collection of plants, botanicals, and flowers. Visitors can enjoy the gorgeous floral displays in any season, from spring blooms to fall foliage. The property also features popular attractions such as historic tours and other nearby points of interest like the Richland Carrousel Park and Snow Trails.
The grounds are so charming, beauty hiding around every turn. There are free-roaming peacocks and picnic areas all along the pathways. The grounds are always clean and there are public restrooms and a small Cafe inside the main building. The mansion is STUNNING... so much history
Roaming R — Google review
Kingwood had so many things to see. I would recommend three to four hours because the grounds are quite large. Although we originally came because we wanted to see the form of gardens, we were disappointed because they are under construction. We were told they probably won't be completed for 2 years so we'll have to come back. In the meanwhile, you can go on their website there are many pictures to see there. These are just a few of the pictures we took while we were visiting.

I love flowers and gardens, and this place is fascinating to visit. We enjoyed our day immensely. The grounds are beautiful, and we appreciated touring the mansion. They also have a snack shop with a variety of heavier meal options, and the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend visiting Kingwood Center Gardens. They have special events happening, so be sure to check the website for current information. When we were there, they had a violet sale.

I attended a regional garden club meeting here and didn't expect much really. Boy, was I mistaken! Upon 1st exiting the entry building into the garden, there were 2 enormous bald cyprus trees in view. They were so big, It made me turn right around and ask the staff in the building if they knew the age. They said those trees were growing since before the property was designed so quite well over 100 years ago. The rest of the grounds were almost as impressive. Trees and plants I've never known before. The greenhouse was impressive too! We'll worth a visit for anyone who loves nature!

Nestled in the heart of Ohio, Mohican State Park is a sprawling natural wonder that boasts a stunning gorge, meandering river, and lush hemlock forests. This park caters to all types of outdoor enthusiasts, offering everything from rustic camping experiences to cozy lake-view cabins. Just under 90 minutes from both Columbus and Cleveland, it’s an easily accessible getaway for families and adventurers alike.
Awesome River to rent the Kayak and take a trip down the river. So peaceful, relaxing, and fun. There are not too many places like this around me so this place is one of a kind. My kids love it too! They offer a Military discount on their river trips which is awesome of them. If you're doing the Kayak, canoe, or tubing you must be checked into the place (buy your tickets) by 4:45 pm. This is so you have at least a couple hours to enjoy the river. They want you back to the watercraft retrieval spot by 7pm which is plenty of time if you're doing the 3 mile trip. The scenery is BEAUTIFUL with wildlife, trees, water, bridges and whatever else you may find along the way. I think it's really cool they allow you to bring your cooler if you want to have something to drink along the way. The most reassuring thing for most people is that the majority of the river is only a few feet deep.

We just returned from an incredible stay at the Mohican State Park cabins, and we're already planning our next trip back. The cabin was spotless and cozy, feeling like the perfect rustic getaway with all the comforts of home. The cabins were nicely spread apart. The gas fireplace was a huge plus, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere after a day of exploring. We especially loved the screened-in porch, which was a fantastic spot for morning coffee and evening card games, all while being surrounded by the peaceful sounds of nature. The location is simply unbeatable. We were just a short walk away from some of the most beautiful hiking trails in the park, and the proximity to the Clear Fork River was a bonus. The staff was very friendly and professional at check-in, making the whole process seamless. It's clear they take great pride in maintaining the cabins and grounds. If you're looking for a relaxing, beautiful, and convenient home base for all your Mohican adventures, these cabins are the perfect choice.

We absolutely love this campground. Camp store is clean and well stocked with things to make camping here perfect. Clean bathrooms and showers that work well. Friendly and helpful staff made it nice to camp here. Right along the Mohican river great views. Nice trails to enjoy hiking.

We have had numerous family reunions at this state park and enjoyed it every time. It's secluded with beautiful Ohio landscape. The staff at the lodge are very friendly and attentive. The lodge and grounds are beautiful and well maintained . Good food in the restaurant and entrees have large portions. They have a great brunch buffet on the weekends. Outdoor pool and during the summer and year round indoor pool. Also some video games. Hiking trails available in the park, canoeing available thru rental location on Rt 3.

A little heaven in Ohio. I really needed a quick trip to calm my head. I stayed in the Motel 6 in Ashland and went hiking all day alone at Mohican. It was better than 100 therapy sessions. Thank you God for such beauty. One of the photos shows a little rock seat where I was able to sit down and take a rest. Ohio always does a great job maintaining their parks and trails and I am so grateful. I will be back for sure. I am from Michigan and plan to visit them all. I think I have visited four so far. It was a perfect 36 hour trip!

Mohican is surely the gem of Ohio's State Parks. The Lodge and environs are outstanding including indoor and outdoor pools. It offers an outstanding view of the Lake. Outside, within the park,The diversity of terrain including the gorge area and covered bridge offer outstanding views. The Ohio Memorial Forest Shrine is located on rt 97 at an edge of the park. I almost drove past it because it is tucked back off the road. The beauty of the stone building caused me to turn around and go back. This memorial is for the thousands of Ohioans listed by county who gave their lives from World War II to present. The inside is just the impressive stone, printed lists of those who have died in all conflicts. I would guess it is about six miles from the Lodge. A delightful afternoon

Beautiful State Park and Campground. The visitor center is a must see especially if you have children. The sites are amazing and worth the work to see them. If hiking, read the signs for difficultly levels and bring water (you won't want to leave). My favorite part of the campground was how kind all of the staff were.

This park has something for everyone! If you like walking/hiking trails, Mohican has you covered. About 30 different trails total ranging from super easy flat asphalt, to experienced EXTREME hiking trails. Plenty of spaces to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Playgrounds , parks and camping abound! Lots to see. Will be coming back. A must see is the castle! Nice hidden gem

Warren G. Harding Presidential Sites

Historic Sites
Restored residence of President Warren Harding now a museum with presidential & personal artifacts.
On vacation in Ohio and the weather kept us inside. So we went to the Presidential Sites. Had a nice tour of the Harding home and enjoyed our visit to the Presidential Library. The tomb was quite remarkable as well. We learned a lot about a president that we didn't know a lot about. It was all done very well and highly recommend.

First of all a big shout out to the tour guide Bill . He gave us one of the best tours we have ever had . This place is a must visit please add to your bucket list . You will learn a lot about one of our presidents . This was the tenth presidential libraries I have visited. Great place to take the family well worth a trip .
BILL R — Google review
Coming off a night with very little sleep (5-10 minutes), when all I wanted to do was take a nap in the parking lot after a long day of travel, I gathered just enough energy to walk inside and say hello to the guides, which led me to a "front porch" tour that did more than wake me up. It reminded me of why I had come to the Harding house in the first place, to talk with those who could offer their own American context, to appreciate and embrace what makes this nation and its leaders so fragile, so rewarding to study, despite our many faults and falls along the way.
Jeremy L — Google review
Museum is very informative. Home has been well kept thru the years with mostly original furnishings. Tour guide was excellent and knowledgeable.
Larry T — Google review
The grounds are well kept. Since we had our dog with us we passed on the tour today of the house & museum but plan to return at a later date. We spoke with several people who had viewed both and were told it was well worth seeing.
C C — Google review
Very nice tour and very clean museum. The tour guide we had was very informative and made the tour fun and educational for all of us. Lots to see and do. There is also a nice gift shop and clean restrooms available. There was not a JR Ranger Program for those that have asked, but hopefully they will add it as it would be a great addition.

This is an amazing find if you want to see and learn about history. When President Harding passed away, the nation at the time was in shock and grieved. Unfortunately, his presidency was not treated well as members of his cabinet were caught up in scandals after Hardings' death. It would've been interesting to see how he would've dealt with all that came out. The museum did a great job of explaining without trying to cover anything up. What was extremely interesting was how Harding and his wife supported the women's suffrage movement and equality for races. Considering how women were ignored or called "nags" if they spoke up in public, Harding respected his wife's opinion. Mrs. Harding was really the first First Lady to champion women athletes and other women's causes. Always a hit, the President's dog, Laddie is good for all ages! The tour of the Harding's Queen Victorian home, right next to the museum, is well worth it! Plus, the museum has spent the money to install wheelchair access for more to be able to have full access. The home is in amazing condition, and the front porch experience is very cool!
Leslie S — Google review
One of the finest guided tours I have ever experienced! Our guide of the house was excellent, giving a very interesting, detailed account of the Hardings' life and home. The museum was also extremely interesting, although we regretfully didn't arrive early enough to read all the exhibit information. If you are a true history buff I would recommend at least three hours to go on the house tour plus visit the museum, watch the movie, and peruse the gift shop. Finally, while not on the same property, the Hardings' gravestones and memorial are nearby and are also well worth the visit. All in all, we had an extremely satisfying day here!

Been twice, each time is a blast! This isn't your one and done place. This is 8 ziplines that are connected and run high in the trees. The guides are funny, friendly, and well trained. The views are awesome. You're in the woods the whole time with no civilization in sight. The power assisted jump at the end gets your heart pounding. My kids weren't sure about the whole thing but they all enjoyed it so much! I will say that after doing this, other places seem so pointless. The price is worth doing at least once.

A 50th birthday present little getaway for my husband, and thought I'd throw in something adventurous. A little uncertain I'd love it too with my limited zip line experience and was thrown by the "need to be able to lift 50 pounds" in the company info (still am?). But the reviews here led me to believe it was doable. I can say now with absolute certainty that it was a blast!! Abby and Maddie, our guides, were phenomenal- Delightful humans and expert instructors!! We felt confident in ourselves under their guidance, loved the all female staff's running of the whole experience that day, and being surrounded by the lush green flora amid the pine-y fragrance as we zipped through the trees was a euphoric natural high!! We HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS EXPERIENCE!!!!!! YOU WILL THANK YOURSELF!

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who wants to try ziplining! No need to be afraid, the guides will take care of you! $85 seems expensive, but that's memory that you'll never forget! That's one more off my bucket list.

Highly recommend! My wife and I had so much fun, and she's terrified of heights. She gathered up her courage though and we both had a blast. Our guides were Abby and Alexis - they both did an amazing job. It was also fun getting to know the other people on the tour. I'd definitely do this again, and I recommend it to anyone who will be in the area!

Surprised my 12 year old daughters with a zip line adventure on our girls weekend. I’m not a fan of heights, but this was something I really wanted to do with them. Our guides, Abi and Ian were AWESOME! They were great teachers, patient and funny. They made the trip even better with their personalities. I felt safe and informed before everything we did. Highly recommend! Would love to come back with the rest of our family.

I was in Marion for a business meeting, and decided to swing by this place since I enjoy presidential history. A very peaceful setting, with a beautiful memorial building in which Harding and his wife are buried. I enjoyed just walking the grounds and reading the signs. Looks like it would be a great place to spend a few hours, relaxing, relaxing, enjoying a picnic, or reading.
Kevin H — Google review
If you’re a history geek, this is a quick stop. Parking was plentiful. Beautiful memorial with historical information plaques. We were just passing through, stayed the night in Marion while on our way to NY and happened to see a former president had a memorial/grave site in the area and decided to make a quick stop early in the morning, before we continued on our journey. The site was way more impressive than I had expected—felt like it could have been in Washington DC and not in the middle of Ohio, surrounded by mostly farmland. If you’re in the area, appreciate American history, and have time, I’d recommend a visit.
Emily — Google review
This is no reflection on the president, just the memorial. Overall. The grounds are well kept and lush, the memorial itself is stunning and it's very nice to photograph. The grounds are public.
Brei C — Google review
We went on a Saturday afternoon and had the whole place to ourselves, there are two small parking lots, a paved level walk way leads you to the memorial. The marks in the marble is absolutely stunning as it makes abstract designs, also check out the metal details of the stair railings and fencing, it's a beautiful floral design.
Alisa W — Google review
Harding wasn’t a very good guy, but he could have been a great president. The memorial itself is very beautiful.

We were driving back home to Akron from Waldo and passed this behemoth of a memorial. Had no idea it existed and we had to stop. It was absolutely beautiful and also, educational. You just don't see places built like this in Ohio. It is reminiscent of Greece. I am really glad we stopped.

This is a wonderful Rails to Trails ride. We did 10 miles and back for 20 total. Lots of wildlife and great scenery along the way. It was a completely paved trail that had lots of stopping points, plenty of benches and great views. Well worth the visit.
Jay H — Google review
This is a very scenic part of the trail. I started at the trailhead near Mt.Vernon Avenue to the railroad bridge. The hills get higher near the bridge, and the trail and river make for a picturesque setting. These are pictures from April 6th, 2025, after a few days of heavy rainfall.
RJD — Google review
This is a great trail, we traveled from Mt Vernon to the tunnel in Howard. There is a lot of shade and some great scenery. There are places to stop and rest, and a few bathrooms along the way too.
Ken T — Google review
I can only speak to about 10 miles of the trail but it is seriously one of the best I’ve been on for biking and walking. There’s a lot of wildlife too. During my quick ride today I saw a deer and two groundhogs. A lot of the trail is surrounded by trees which provides nice shade / scenery. I love that there are benches throughout and I love the bridges! I have tried to rollerblade here before and while it was okay it can be tricky due to the sticks and debris from the trees etc.
Sarah R — Google review
One of Ohios best bike rides!! Smooth surface the whole way with a good amount of hill climbs and scenic farms along the way.
Jennifer S — Google review
Most scenic trail I have done. I parked in a parking lot in mount vernon. Went left from parking lot. Train you can climb on about 4 miles out. Another 5 miles (9 total) is the tunnel built mid 1800s.
Derek O — Google review
This is a great trail to walk or ride your bike. I travel all the way from Columbus because this is my favorite trail to ride my bike 25-40 miles. There is a tree canopy for most of the trail so you don’t have to worry much about getting too hot or getting too much sun. The initial ride is along the River on one side and a big wooded hill on the other. The trail doesn’t have many big hills to ride over, it’s pretty level.

Just got back from a morning bike ride with the family. This is a really nice, peaceful trail with a lot of scenery. It runs along the Kokosing river in Mt. Vernon and continues to Gambier to the south. Nice little getaway for some morning exercise and relaxation.

Nature & Parks
Delaware State Park, situated in Delaware, Ohio, is a sprawling 1,700-acre natural haven just 45 minutes north of Columbus. The park offers a variety of outdoor activities such as camping, boating, fishing, and kayaking around the reservoir. Visitors can explore the forested area through trails like Mink Run trail and Briar Run trail that offer scenic views and moderate terrain.
I stayed at the campground here which was the best yet. Level paved parking & electric hook up. Cleanest bathrooms I’ve ever seen. I didn’t spend too much time in the park itself I did however complete the one looped hike & am going to comment on that. It was pretty easy, flat ground. It was beautiful because the leaves are freshly falling and giving an earthy smell. Heard lots of squirrels and birds in the woods. There is a LOT of spiders in this area - I know because I found them all over my camper and truck bed. I also happened to run into their webs with my face on the hike. It wasn’t bad, but enough to make me panic google if I was going to need medical attention if im bit. Haha, but in all seriousness it’s a simple hike in nature. Just watch those nuts the squirrels throw down- you could easily twist an ankle. Also it’s real quiet and peaceful in here. The hike can be accessed from different locations. I easily accessed from the campground.
Vikki P — Google review
The site we were in was swampy, probably because of a large rain recently - but it looks like it is an ongoing issue because hay had been put down over the mud, and it had been there a little while. Other than that, the site was fine. Because we got there on a Monday (5/19), we nearly had the whole place to ourselves, which was nice fir quiet and solitude. Shower / restroom facilities were clean and updated nicely.
Ethan B — Google review
We are very impressed with the campground. The campground is laid out very well, sites are large and bathroom/shower rooms are clean. The hiking trails we went on were OK. One was very muddy due to all the rain in previous days and had large fallen trees over the path in areas. The beach is very nice as well, with clean bathrooms, and a nice playground area. The dam access was closed due to construction but the park area had 2 amazing playground areas. 1 for smaller kids and 1 for bigger kids. A great area for a picnic. Brand new bathroom as well.

Beautiful grounds! Camp host was amazing. Brought ice popsicle for kids. Had a Sunday party. Then a foam party. Grateful for the hospitality. Never been to a camp ground like this. The Dam tour was neat.

Columbus Zoo and Aquarium

Zoo
The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is a sprawling park located about 20 miles north of downtown, showcasing a wide variety of land and sea life. With over 10,000 animals from more than 500 species across six themed areas, visitors can enjoy hands-on experiences like the tide pool and Jack Hanna's Animal Encounters Village. The zoo also offers additional attractions such as the Wilds conservation center, Zoombezi Bay water park for summer fun, and an 18-hole Safari Golf Course.
This was the coolest zoo we've been to. The rides do cost extra but there's so much to do in the zoo that you don't need it. There's so many animals and each exhibit is meticulously planned to provide a nice space for the animal. The zoo flowed well and we really enjoyed the different sections so we knew what to expect for the animals. Great zoo and a great experience.
Rachel B — Google review
The zoo itself was great. Very enjoyable and I loved the amount of space the enclosures had for the animals. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is cuz the food is outrageous. $15 for a cheeseburger, $8 for a hotdogs. It cost us $90 just for food for a small party. Definitely pack your own lunch before your visit.
Laura M — Google review
What a great time going. The last time I was here was when I was a child and how it has grown and changed is incredible. Such a diverse choice of animals from different regions of the world. Great displays touching upon conservation, education, and the impact mankind has on wildlife. Many extras with gift shops, food choices, rides, etc. Highlights were the manatee and hyena displays.
Salt S — Google review
This was our 1st time visiting the Columbus Zoo and we had a GREAT time. It was cold so a lot of animals weren't out (which was expected) but the animals were did see were awesome and their habitats were set up really nice. We will definitely visit again.
Sarah L — Google review
Definitely get there in the morning because you’re going to need A LOT of time! The zoo is massive, we got there while there was still 2 hours to closing and barely saw 25% of it! We greatly enjoyed our time nonetheless! We went on a Friday and it wasn’t crowded, the zoo was very clean and we loved how large the enclosures were for the animals. Will definitely come back if we get the chance and spend all day there!
Lacie C — Google review
Honestly this zoo wasn’t it for us. We’ve been to an array of zoos over the years and found this one just wasn’t what we had hoped for. While it was clean and the layout was simple we found that many animals were off exhibit and many sections of the zoo not accessible for different events . Our favorite part however was the polar bear exhibit. It was fantastic and the animals are truly spectacular. Our least favorite is paying for parking and general admission costs, we found it to be much higher than other zoos we’ve traveled too and found that since the lack of animals on display + cost had us uninterested in returning for another visit.
Heather J — Google review
This is my absolute favorite zoo so far. The wildlife is well taken care of. The aquarium is clean, beautiful, large, it's equally very amazing. The aquatic life is extremely happy. It seems all these animals have great space to be as close to real life as they can get in safety. I love Africa to see everything's so large. The restrooms are spotless. The employees are very kind and helpful. I can't say enough good about my experiences here. It's above in comparison to others I've been to in my surrounding areas. The gorillas have an amazing habitat as well as many other animals habitats there. I spend the night at a hotel so I can enjoy the entire zoo and take my time. I love the reptile building also. I can go on..

We had an amazing day at the Columbus Zoo. The Red Panda experience was absolutely incredible and 100% worth it. Getting to learn about these adorable animals up close was unforgettable. Tom from the Education Team was especially fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what he does. You can tell how much he cares about the animals and making the experience special for guests. Highly recommend this zoo and the animal experiences to anyone visiting Columbus!

Water & Amusement Parks
Zoombezi Bay is a thrilling water park located next to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, offering a perfect blend of refreshing water attractions and spooky, zombie-themed experiences. The park features a giant pool, raft slides, high-speed mat races, lazy rivers, and more. In addition to its water rides, Zoombezi Bay also boasts haunted houses and scare zones for horror enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy non-water rides like the Sea Dragon roller coaster as well.
I enjoyed my time there. Kid and adult friendly. Parking only $10 and they have all day rental lockers for an affordable rate. I do recommend wearing water shoes to avoid walking barefoot on high traffic wet areas. It is first come first serve for the tubes at the lazy river but still very enjoyable. They have a “fast pass” option which I thought was nice. Drinks were a little pricey, but they do hand out water cups to make sure everyone is staying hydrated. I thought the burger and fry meal was reasonably priced. You can also bring your own food, get stamped, go out to your car and eat, and come back at no fee. All and all I will definitely go again! Super easy to get to as well!
Darion — Google review
We had a great time. We got there when the park opened and rented a 21+ lounger space on the same day, but they do advise to book in advance online. For reserved padded lounge chairs in the semi private shade, access to the wait staff and a safe large enough to fit a large shoulder bag, we felt that the $100 fee was worth it. Since a large locker is $22 already. And since we also came in from out of town, the day use of towels included with the lounge rental were a nice bonus. The staff running the bar in that area were friendly and helpful. I would also advise to go to the left side of the parking lot when you arrive for close access to the Zoombezi entrance. If you follow the masses, you are going to end up on the zoo side with a considerable walk ahead of you. Take sunscreen. If this is the one thing you forget, the standard 6oz size spray is $30 on site. 30-40oz of heavily tequila laden margaritas is cheaper than 6oz of sunscreen here.
Jim M — Google review
We went on weekend and it was super crowded. They have lots of fun things for kids and plenty of seating area. There’s no shade on rides. They have separate sheds for seating but you have to reserve them and they charge a lot for those “Cabanas”. It’s worth money if you’re someone who doesn’t mind going to overcrowded places.

Cashless isn't always convenient. Especially for a young person working and having cash they can't spend or having to purchase a card to purchase some over priced and mediocre food. Our pizza was overpriced and was terrible. Pool was shut down nobody knew why I don't know just filled on the organized

Sophisticated hotel with a restaurant, as well as conference space & an indoor pool.
Quite simply the best hotel experience I have ever had. The room was clean and spacious. The room had a couch and our room had a patio which led right out to the parking lot which was awesome. You can prepay for breakfast if you buy directly through the website for $5 a person which I highly recommend as that breakfast is amazing. I had the omelette and eggs in a blanket for the refused breakfast and the buffet over the weekend. Both well worth the money. I recommend this hotel and will be using this hotel again for any events I have in the area in the near future.

So good to see the Cherry Valley back as a general hotel without a water park. The atmosphere when I arrived on a Saturday was buzzing with a conference, a wedding party, and an endless stream of HS teens and their families taking prom pictures. The mood changed on Sunday. Super quiet. That should change. I had hot water issues in my room. Addressing it required a complete shut down of the water system. At least they were addressing it. It was good to see landscape crews working as I left. The grounds used to be immaculate. I hope the new owners will get back to green grass and less weeds. Time to replace the bathtub showers. Good luck, Cherry Valley Hotel. I had great times there from when it opened until 2005 when I moved. Bring it back to five stars.

Just got back from a weekend here. My wife and I were surprised at how beautiful the grounds are, it's really special. The service was excellent, and everybody was so friendly to work with. The layout is a bit tricky if you're trying to get to different areas of the hotel. The food was fantastic, and we though priced fair, although a dedicated coffee station would have been nice. The rooms were excellent with amazing views if you get an inward facing one. Overall, a special place in Ohio for a weekend getaway.

The staff went above and beyond to help my family and I while we were dealing with a situation with another hotel. They embraced us and showed empathy and took time to understand our situation. They were extremely kind, caring and professional. I very much appreciate them for that. Everything was clean, calm, and inviting. Simply one of the best hotels I ever stayed in. Although a bit of a distance from town, the staff made the extra travel worth. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Thankful for my experience.

How lucky we found this place! So many times we've visited Granville and stayed at the Granville Inn. But that place has become outrageously expensive. So we tried this place and it's so much nicer and half the price! It's huge, very charming, nicely done. There are numerous conference rooms of various sizes from small to huge. Well staffed, friendly, and clean. This will be our go-to hotel destination whenever we're back in town.

The staff, location, amenities, chefs, ambiance allowed for a “perfect” June wedding! Eric Lane, our Manager, provided low cost options to keep expenses reasonable. He was very helpful with every decision ( room setup, timing, food choices, room availability for guests staying there, photo opportunities, etc). Eric is warm, sincere, and pressure free. His thoughtful planning significantly dropped the stress level of planning such an event. Rain or shine, all guests would be comfortable. Eric was there on our Saturday ( his day off) to ensure every need was met, and all would go smoothly…which it did. The catering staff was personally engaging, encouraging, polite, making us feel like family. The Courtyard provided a stunningly gorgeous backdrop for photos. Our guests raved about the food at the Reception, quantity and succulent taste. Our sincerest appreciation for allowing our special day to be ‘perfect’! John and Colleen Kerns

Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is a sprawling 88-acre destination featuring both indoor and outdoor art and nature exhibits, as well as lush greenhouses and beautifully landscaped grounds. The conservatory offers seasonal displays, short-term art exhibitions, and permanent indoor biomes showcasing over 400 plant species from around the globe. Notably, it houses the largest private botanical garden collection of glass works by renowned artist Dale Chihuly.
What an amazing place! Came by on a warm and sunny day and were blown away by how gorgeous the grounds are. We saw staff working on stuff everywhere. As someone who has a hard time walking distances, I was pleasantly surprised to be offered an electrical scooter at no charge to help get around. The place is very large and clearly marked for what plants are where and also how to avoid staircases. Volunteers were very evident and were obviously happy to be there. Wonderful place to spend time.

I had such a wonderful visit to the Franklin Park Conservatory! The different biomes were fascinating and made the experience both serene and educational. The bonsai exhibit was absolutely immaculate, and I was pleasantly surprised by how impressive the architecture itself was as part of the attraction. A beautiful place to spend the day and definitely worth a return trip!

I felt the price was about $5 to high. However, we booked for 5:30 entry and it was still daylight and have to have the children home at a certain time so they didn’t get to see the cool stuff come to life til we left. I understand it’s a wedding venue as I got married there at Christmas time. So we missed out on seeing the Palm house. Not spooky at all. Great for kids of all ages. Just wish the prices were lower so even the kids that come from low income families could enjoy it too.

I haven't been to the Franklin Park Conservatory for over 40 years and my girlfriend has never been so what better way to spend our one year anniversary than to spend a day enjoying all the beautiful sights and smells😊. It was better than I remembered! I was even better at night seeing the place lit up for the Pumpkins Aglow event. I was very romantic and the smiles she had was priceless 😍

My Granddaughter and her Fiancée were just Married here 11-8-25. The Franklin Park Conservatory is absolutely Beautiful for a wedding. Beautiful plants, Blown glass art, the people setting up, everything was perfect. The grounds are gorgeous for pictures, and just to walk around see topiary, plants, trees. Gorgeous place to visit, take pictures to take with family, etc.

We went to Pumpkins A'glow prior to Halloween as our first visit to the conservatory. Our family enjoyed the everything inside and out. The detail and variety was amazing. We will definitely be going back for more events.

This was a great little excursion while in Columbus. The Flora is beautiful and the chihuli glass is incredible. It doesn’t take up your whole day to tour and I was happy with the amount to see.

Located in Columbus, Ohio, the Center of Science and Industry (COSI) is a top science museum offering interactive exhibits, working labs, planetarium shows, and a variety of hands-on science exhibits covering themes like Oceans, Gadgets, and Energy. The museum also features a Little Kidspace for younger children and a permanent American Museum of Natural History Dinosaur Gallery. Visitors can enjoy dining at the on-site cafe and restaurant or shop at the gift shop.
There are many exhibits to explore. The dinosaur & shark exhibits were great to see, as they had life size models on display & it was very informative. The Ocean exhibit was fun because you can go into a real submarine & there is an interactive water room. One of the best things about the museum is how many hands on things there are to do. It's definitely a great place for all ages.

The visit was amazing! We visited for the Unofficial Galaxies event since we are huge Star Wars fans. The event was spectacular with a ton of really insane exhibits that were mostly fan made. We were absolutely thrilled to see all of the handmade items and pieces from the films. We recommend buying tickets in advance. Also the military discount here is only $2 but still worth it.

Pixar was worth it for us. Our kids from 8-16 had a blast getting drawn into the animation process for at least 90 minutes then spent another couple of hours exploring, playing and creating. The older kids had been to Cosi before but had a genuinely good time taking it all in again, they also thoroughly enjoyed shocking each other in the energy section. Even some of the discovery and play areas were surprisingly fun and interesting.

Coming from out of town, looking to kill some time, it did not disappoint!Cool science center. There were tons of day camp kids running wild, but that can be expected on a weekday morning in the summer. Very cool hands on stuff for kids. The natural history exhibits were cool, along with the Town of Progress exhibit. Would definitely recommend if you are in the Columbus area.

I don’t see many reviews talking about amazing the little kids area upstairs is! 1st grade and under I believe was the age range. My kiddos will spend hours just in that area alone. Dramatic play , water play, art room, wooden train /soft play, and play construction vehicles . Find on street parking for a cheaper rate than the garage.

Wow! Just a beautiful place to take the family. The exhibits are amazing. Every time we go the Dinosaur exhibit just keeps on expanding. Just truly an amazing place and I myself learn so much. Highly recommend going especially when they change out the featured exhibits.

This place is so worth it. For only $30 bucks we got over 3 hours of fun and useful information about the world we live in. We visited the planetarium twice for two films that were incredible and at no extra charge. You definitely can make a whole days worth out of this museum. I also enjoyed that it’s not only child oriented but also includes stuff for adults to do. Also don’t forget to check out the shows they do during the day. We got to see rats play basketball! My one and only complaint about this place is I wish there were more cool shirts in the gift shop for adults! (All the cool ones are for the kids)

I finally made it here after knowing about it for more than 20 years and it was totally worth it. I teared up a little when I first walked i to the dinosaur room. Seriously so amazing to see. And I was in awe of the beauty in the Poseidon room. I think that might have been my favorite. An incredible experience for sure. Absolutely worth a visit!

Small and quiet. Very relaxing. No food to order, but misc bagged snacks. Like chips and pretzels. Our lager was very good with no bitter bite. We stopped after seeing a covered bridge next to this road zone. That is a nice go see view. Nice parking area and room to move. Clean bathrooms 🚻 This is an all ground level facility.

Great brewery. Staff was very kind and the beer was great. Lagers were done very well! Grabbed their pilsner to go! They have some Belgian beer styles also along with wine and cocktails. Beautiful patio and 23 acres to walk around. They had the barbecue food truck going. Wow, ribs were fantastic!! We will be back

Really enjoyed our time here! A gem in the outskirts of Columbus with modern design and plenty of space for whatever you’re feeling. Also really liked their beer!! Had the food truck for pizzas and they were great

Their new tasting room just opened and it’s absolutely beautiful, plus they have a great selection of beers! The patio is very comfortable, with a fire pit, corn hole, TVs, and ample seating. I loved everything about this place.
