Nature & Parks
Nestled between the charming towns of Petoskey and Harbor Springs, Petoskey State Park is a true gem in Northern Michigan. This stunning park offers an array of outdoor activities, including camping at its two campgrounds—Dunes Campground and Tannery Creek Campground—where you can set up your tent or RV amidst nature's beauty. With a mile-long beach along Little Traverse Bay, visitors can bask in the sun or take leisurely strolls along the shore.
A real nice park on little Traverse Bay. Clean modern bath house. Easy access to the beach. Nearby hiking and biking trails. I stayed on the Tannery Creek side but drove through the Dune campground and actually like that a lot better as the dunes keep the wind at bay. (pun intended)

Great place for an overnight stay..Has electric only in the sites 😔 so fill your tanks up.. Walk the beach,,look for rocks,, sorry NO sea shells here !! The Sand dunes are hard for walking, hope you are in shape!!! The black squirrels are fun... didn't see to much of the park,,I bet it's has more to offer than we seen so give it a shot you like it.... PS.. we don't like the registration fee for the out of state campers..$11.00 sucks!!
J J — Google review
Great experience here! Less populated, slightly quieter than West Michigan beaches.. but amazing views looking straight at the Little Traverse Bay! The water is shallower and very blue. Easy to swim due to the protection of the bay. Snack bar and restrooms very clean and the parking was easy. Will 100% be back!
Matt M — Google review
Great beach! You can park in the parking lot and literally take your shoes off at your car and walk straight into the sand! Can get busy. But we have visited here last year on a day it wasn’t easy at all. Clean restrooms and showers as well as outdoor showers, volley balls court, and bike rack. Lots of beach shoreline to walk and walking trails in the dunes in the trees. Lots of parking and easy in and out access. Great place to watch the sunset. And swimming beach. Find soft touching rocks.
Yolo F — Google review
Even though I didn’t go swimming, I absolutely loved my time at the beach in Petoskey State Park. The scenery was peaceful and beautiful, especially during sunset — truly a breathtaking view over the water. The beach was clean and well-maintained, with a relaxing atmosphere perfect for unwinding and taking in nature. A great spot for a calm evening by the lake!
Kyial S — Google review
In search of Petoskey stones. First went to the beach, did not even park because of crowd, and didn't think there would be many rocks on the beach. Drove to campsite entrance and walked .5 mile to boardwalk. We found several stones pretty quick. We also realized we could have much easier walked to rocky areas from the beach.
Nancy F — Google review
Park only had beach open this time of year(September). Walked the beach hoping to find Petoskey stones. Didn’t find those but found some other beauties.
Bowmanlaurapiper — Google review
Gorgeous beach to see the sunset. Rock hunting nearby with a shelter on the beach. Plenty of parking but we visited off season in early fall.

Odawa Casino

Fun & Games
Odawa Casino Resort is a contemporary casino resort that offers comfortable rooms, a pool, and a free shuttle to the casino grounds. Located just 4.3 km from the Terrace Inn And 1911 Restaurant and 35 km from Pellston Regional Airport, it provides easy access to nearby attractions like Lake Michigan and Riverwalk Pier. Visitors have praised the clean and friendly environment of the casino, likening it to Las Vegas.
From the moment you start walking toward the casino entrance, welcomed by the security guards and the rest of the friendly staff, to the exciting slot play (or tables if you prefer) is just the best time. We left in an excellent mood I forgot to take a picture of the entrance! this was our most memorable visit so far.. Beautiful casino..great atmosphere! Can't wait to stay in the hotel one day!
Kim E — Google review
The Sage Restaurant is not worth the price. The service was poor, the Oktoberfest menu was nice but had no October beer available with the German meal offerings. We were there on a Wednesday afternoon/evening, 2/3rds of the restaurant was empty. But still it took the server 10 minutes for our drinks as she had go to the other bar for my bottle of beer. Our food was good but over priced for the meal. Also the food was delivered on cold plates so by the time my pork medallions arrived they were cold. Also I had to go to the server station and get my own salt and pepper as we only saw the server when she delivered our drinks and brought us the bill. I have worked in food service all my life, this restaurant was very disappointing!

Nice casino, we didn't stay in hotel. We played slots, didn't do good or bad but did get adequate game play. Was very clean, friendly staff and customers. Only visited for a few hours so not a really indepth review. We wouldn't go out of our way to come back here but if we were in area anyway we would definitely stop in.
Robert R — Google review
I love the Casino because it is smoke free and just feels cleaner!! I like that you can win here!! The machines do pay out!! Met some other players who were very nice and friendly! The workers at the Casino were also friendly and helpful! The hotel room was clean and the bed was comfortable- the TV was easy to use! The breakfast buffet in the morning was pretty good! Bagels, English muffins , cereal, fruit, and peanut butter and jelly! The coffee was ok!! I had a yogurt and toasted English muffin with jam and peanut butter and an apple!! 🍎 it filled me up!! I have happy memories at the Odawa Casino and hotel!! Oh and they do have a pool and hot tub!!

Alright. Come or coole bucks ahead. See what happens next time. The pizza lady was real nice. Gave me a deal on pizza just before closing. Thank you pizza lady.

Save your money and avoid this casino. Been going here for years and would at least win a little or get a hand pay once in a while. The floor wait staff used to be great, and you hardly see them. We are good tippers if they deserve it.The last 2 years have been a joke. Don't waste your time or money.
Daana S — Google review
I truly don't know why or how but I am uncommonly lucky at casinos. I rarely go but I have some pretty good techniques for gambling. I've only been here 3 times and I left with close to what I started with twice and walked away with $1200 more than I started with once. DON'T TAKE THIS AS SOLID ADVICE! Most people lose...a lot. Best advice is to not go. Second best advice is give Odawa Casino a try. It's clean, fun and you just might run into me, Mr. Lucky!
Howard A — Google review
Located off 131, behind Gordons', it was a little tricky to find. We followed a casino bus after we had missed our turn....twice...thanks to gps and digital maps. Typical casino with machines and eating options. Plenty of parking. We used complimentary tickets from our hotel and played the penny machines. Different from the Mackinaw Odawa, this one "keeps the change" when you want to switch machines with a low amount still available on your voucher. The desk attendants and cashier were friendly and helpful.

Cross in the Woods Catholic Shrine of Indian River

Mentioned on

Sights & Landmarks
The Cross in the Woods Catholic Shrine of Indian River is a renowned destination drawing visitors from all over North America and beyond. This tranquil park houses the National Shrine of the Cross in the Woods, featuring a massive wooden cross and various shrines and sanctuaries. The highlight is a striking bronze sculpture of Jesus on the crucifix, created by Michigan sculptor Marshall M. Fredericks.
Beautiful place. Doesn't matter which religion you follow, this is worth the time to visit. A walk around the grounds is extremely relaxing and your first glimpse of the cross through the trees is magnificent. The gift shop and doll museum are interesting also.
Ed P — Google review
Wonderful spot for prayer or quiet meditation. Lovely garden walk with squirrels, chipmunks, and variety of birds. So peaceful. They also have daily Mass & an excellent gift shop.
Ross N — Google review
I am not religious at all! I am gay, I grew up protestant. I visited this place on the way to Petoskey because it was listed online as one of those road side attractions you get out of the car and walk to. I saw the giant crucifix in the woods and the nun doll/mannequin museum. I was amazed, the crucifix is truly a work of modern art. And the grounds surrounding it are beautiful, a nice addition I’d say. I can only imagine how nice it is to actually attend this church and have some sermons outdoors or however they use that outdoor bit right below the crucifix, the church grounds also had these lovely statues and some beautiful flowers painting an overall contemporary and peaceful vibe to this establishment. And to that, the nun doll/mannequin museum was a really cool addition and gave you an opportunity as a guest to walk around the church, and see just how differently Christianity is amongst the different churches and branches. The mannequins and the dolls are each dressed to resemble the nun/pope/priest attire of whichever local church was labeled beneath it. Being from Metro Detroit, I thought it was so cool to see attire from nuns from Fraser and Detroit churches to make it to this museum, as well as across our other 50 states. This was also seemingly the largest collection of the sorts in the United States so that was awesome to see. Now, here is my few complaints. Growing up as a protestant: it was against my belief system to prop up Christianity in a way which is selling itself to others. I’ve never in my life been to a church that was so obviously monetary and tried to sell itself as such. I went to a smaller, quite frankly probably dying church, a German Lutheran one. The donations there, while I assume so here aren’t required; we’re definitely not required there. We took in massive amounts of homeless people and fed and housed them on the weekends. Perhaps it is just my smaller community, and the upbringing I have. But when you go, you’ll likely see what I mean; the gift shop, the optional donation boxes scattered around the church and outside. It must be great to exist in such a large and popular denomination, and I’m hoping that with this incredible budget (I’m assuming) the church has, that they do in fact give back to local communities such as mine did. Nonetheless, it was an interesting stop and I’m happy that I stopped by to see it.
Christian P — Google review
1) The crucifix is the centerpiece of this beautiful shrine. It is massive 2) Multiple indoor chapels around the outdoor area such as Divine Mercy, St Peregrine and more. Each one should be visited and to pray for intercessions. 3) The grounds are very peaceful. Great to pray in nature 4) Gift shop is large 5) The doll museum feels 1970s but is worth looking at. I think the carpets need to be replaced down there. 6) I love how the museum connects to the church. Another place to pray and see the Crucifix without the elements.
Urban K — Google review
Beautyful and Open to the Public this space of worship is amazing and epic! As soon as you reach the cross you feel soo happy, joyful and closer to god. I enjoyed the open space the walk thrue the land everything was kept soo clean. The groundskeeper needs a raise. hahaha

It was snowing lightly and was so beautiful. I have never been there in the winter. It is such a peaceful place. It is kept up very well. The ladies in the gift shop were so funny and kind.
Charlotte A — Google review
The path to the cross is beautiful! The shop has alot of beautiful items as well and the church is just amazing! We didn't go for service but it's open to just sit there and speak with God.
Alejandra G — Google review
An unexpected find on a drive towards the Upper Peninsula. The grounds are well maintained and have some other interesting sculptures along with the stations of the cross.

Water & Amusement Parks
Avalanche Bay Indoor Waterpark is a massive water park located within a resort in Boyne Falls, MI. It features an array of attractions such as slides, a lazy river, children's pool, and various activities suitable for visitors of all ages. The park offers multiple water slides, a pool with basketball hoops, surfing experiences, hot tubs, and an activity tower with diverse entertainment options. Additionally, there are designated areas for different age groups to ensure that everyone can enjoy the facilities.
My son hit his head horsing around in the hot tub and the staff was so amazing tending to his cut and bandaging him up. I feel like it's always cold there, but the fun rides and staff make it worth it!
Katie K — Google review
This is our second time here. First time was 5/5- workers were great, check in easy. Today was exact opposite. Check in was a nightmare. Only one worker checking in. Absolutely no organization. When second desk opened, they allowed other guests just cut in front of all of us that had been waiting well over 20 min. When someone tried to correct it, we were told too bad so sad. My kids love the park. And the slides are great. But just a cluster truck for check in and seating.
Amanda V — Google review
The kids enjoyed the park but did complain of cold water and it was cold. Water cold, cold. At 45 dollars I didn't even go down any water slides due to water temp. The hot tubs were tepid with very foamy water and could use a cleaning.
Tina R — Google review
We have been to this hotel and Waterpark before and had been wanting to go back. The hotel was clean with friendly and efficient staff. The location was nice as it wasn't too far from home and there was a lot to do for my family. The Waterpark was disappointing. The water was cold especially in the lazy river. The slides were fun for my 5 year old but they were too big for my 3 year old to go alone and adults arent allowed on with them. The toddler area was full of bigger kids throwing water basketballs so my 3 and 1 year old could not enjoy that. The pool at the hotel was a lot more fun than the Waterpark. If we come again, we will skip the waterpark.
Lena S — Google review
We went for the day for my son's birthday and it was so much fun. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The water park was a great size with lots to do. Our favorite part was the vertigo water slide!
Saio89 — Google review
Great place decent choices of water slides and related. Far better then great Wolfe lodge in my opinion as far as water park goes the location is the only downfall I believe being its hour from Traverse City which would honestly bring it way more business if there or even 30 min closer . But overall well worth it. Cheaper also
Charles Y — Google review
Really fun water park. Went for a day trip to the waterpark. My 3 year old LOVED it. I enjoyed the bigger slides too! Great experience.

Resort hotel
Outdoor Activities
Nestled just three miles from Boyne Falls, Boyne Mountain Resort is a prime destination for ski enthusiasts. The resort features chateau-style buildings and alpine lodges, offering various accommodations including hotel rooms, villas, condos, and cozy cabins. In addition to winter sports across two mountains, the resort boasts ten golf courses for summer activities. Guests can also enjoy outdoor swimming pools, an indoor water park, a spa, and a fishing lake.
We stayed for the weekend. Nice place and well maintained. The golf course was beautiful but the beverages were extremely pricy. The food at the lodge was great. We had all you could eat prime rib one evening and all you could eat stir-fry the second evening. They had all the options I would want for a stir-fry and more.
Aaron V — Google review
It got a lot more expensive for everything than it was last year. I'm handicapped(I have a TBI)so I can't walk real far and they don't offer wheel chairs, well they do but they only have 3 wheelchairs on the property. Once they are gone they are gone. I only saw 1 being used the whole time and they had no idea where the other 2 were. You have to be quick about getting one because you can't have 1 held for you. Luckily the evening before I was coming home I found 1 just sitting up by the skybridge. That's a huge place that everyone should be able to enjoy and with all the walking I did the first day and a half I didn't get to enjoy it completely. The only enjoyment was spending time with my family. You would think that they would get a large supply of wheelchairs or some sort of walking assists so everyone can enjoy all the scenery. After paying for the travel there and the room it gets even more expensive because you don't really get anything included with the room. Food costs at least $40-$70 for 2 people to eat a small meal and $8-$10 for 1 drink. The pop and water machine is at least $3. So don't go here unless you really want to spend a lot of money
Nicole B — Google review
Great experience with friends and family. Waterpark is so much fun and at night the lights go out and kids have glowsticks. The lifeguards are just kids and don't really do much and kinda look like robots doing the same footwork. It's almost like their paying more attention to their footwork than the actual kids in the pool. But the whole resort is nice and clean. We had a blast and will definitely return.
Nick C — Google review
We had a really great time over the weekend at this resort. The staff was incredible and took care of us for our 16th Wedding Anniversary. The resort is really clean and affordable, with plenty of things to keep busy. The spa staff was amazing and the food was really good at the different restaurants. We will definitely return for the ski season and for golf season.
Adam P — Google review
All of northern Michigan is pretty but this resort is extra special. The grounds are vast and have exquisite landscaping. Thoroughly enjoyed riding the ski lift on a crisp Fall day to experience their Skybridge. A remarkable engineering feat, the bridge is the world's longest timber-towered suspension bridge. Breathtaking and fun to walk across. Thereafter, rewarded with a food truck/bar and the best Mother Nature could offer. Additionally, resort staff everywhere were sincere in their efforts to ensure we had a great time. Hope you’re lucky enough to run into Walter (who was actually security detail) since he’s a wealth of information and clearly appreciated his surroundings! Lovely gift shops, epic Spa (separate review,) restaurants … absolutely worth visiting. Don’t wait!!

Boyne Mountain Resort is absolutely amazing! The atmosphere is vibrant and relaxing at the same time — surrounded by beautiful scenery and cozy spaces that make you feel instantly at ease. Everything was well organized, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. It’s the perfect place to enjoy nature, relax, and have fun with friends or family. Truly an amazing experience that I would highly recommend!

Our family had a fantastic stay while there for a soccer tournament. We came a day before the soccer tournaments and wished we had another day to play. This was October 10th - 12th. We enjoyed the sky bridge, along with the festivities ( pumpkin smashing, horse back rides for the kids, axe throwing, the water park). The clock tower is a bit dated, but was clean. 98% of our group was together do all had fun. Charming old place with lots of beauty all around. Check in was the only thing that annoyed us, seemed very late on that part. We did arrive early and were patient about that, plenty to do, but it almost 4:30 by the time we got room keys. The kids could finally grab swim suits for water park which is only open from 4pm to 8pm.
Beau A — Google review
The resort was nice - it felt like Disney world in the mountains. We loved the Skybridge and the ski lift up. We were here early October (as season is slowing down) but I was disappointed to learn that many of the activities closed early or were entirely closed. While I understand season was about over I wish we would have known beforehand that restaurants were closed and the hours were shorten than advertised online. Overall, I liked it and would love to see what it’s like during ski season.

Specialty Museums
The Call of the Wild Museum is a charming family-owned establishment in Gaylord, offering an array of North American wildlife exhibits, a theater, and a delightful gift shop. This quirky museum holds nostalgic value as it harks back to the era of classic roadside attractions that once dotted the route up north. Visitors can marvel at numerous animals preserved by local taxidermists while also immersing themselves in the history of tourism before modern highways bypassed these quaint towns.
Hard to decide which photos to include, so I ended up putting too many, but not even half what I took.. Somehow hasn’t changed much since I was here as a child in the mid 80s. I think the listening horns were here back then. The science facts posted at each exhibit are updated though. The scariness of bears standing on their hind legs is the same. The poetry and discovery room was great. Even as an adult traveling alone I enjoyed guessing things and opening the little doors to find how wrong I was every time. Everyone in the gift shop was friendly and I enjoyed talking with them. It’s a great gift shop! Nice range of prices and something for any aesthetic.

Quaint little museum, decent price and the staff was very friendly! It's also very educational and they provide scavenger hunts if you want them at the front of the museum. I took my three year old and he had so much fun!

This is a fun place for everyone. The museum was nice and interesting. They do have put put golf, go carts gift shop and fudge.

I just love this Michigan Gem. A wonderful little museum and shop that has the most beautifully done taxidermy dioramas, Showcasing Michigan wildlife and history. We visit at least once a year.
Melissa T — Google review
A little older but very interesting. The staff was very friendly. Huge selection in the gift shop. If your looking for fudge this is a must stop, they make it in house. its better than what we found in the bigger cities and for a better price! The exhibits in the museum are very interesting to look at. We especially liked listening to the animal sounds and seeing the ones that change. Definitely recommend this for families of all ages. We brought 4 kids between 12 and 18 and they all found something they liked.
T ( — Google review
Cute place to visit. I like that they have informational plaques at all the exhibits. They also aren't just "on display", the animals are in a nicely executed exhibits. Gift shop has some great items and really good fudge.

I have been here a few times, but recently stopped with our 4 and 2 year old. They have scavenger hunts which my 4 year old absolutely loved! My 2 year old was so very excited to see all the mounts. Definitely recommend.

Gaylord's City Elk Park

Park
Nature & Parks
Large nature park featuring a herd of wild elk, which can be viewed from inside your car.
Gaylord City Elk Park is a great place to visit. It's awesome and they take very good care of the elk. You can see the elk up close, and the park is clean and well-kept. It's a wonderful spot for anyone who loves nature.
Arif C — Google review
Love to check out the elk. Don't check them out from the viewing area though, you won't see them usually. Go to the back edge of the fence where they all hang out. They were within a foot of the fence right in front of us. So cool!
Tammi I — Google review
We were told that you do not always get to see the elk, but we got lucky. We had six bulls come out to feed at the viewing area and they were spectacular.
David I — Google review
We were able to see some elk there. My complaint is the bathrooms at the picnic pavilion were locked.
Alex L — Google review
I've never seen elk before. Husband and I were going to go elk spotting where we might not ever see any, however, this place allowed us to see them. Ironically on the way back to camp, 2 ran out in front of us. I wouldn't necessarily make a drive just to see them unless I was doing other things. I drove about 45 mins to see them.
Amy R — Google review
Amazing views and if you catch the Elk at sunset they are very active!

Nature & Parks
Hartwick Pines State Park, located near Grayling town in Michigan's Lower Peninsula, is a vast expanse of forested land covering over 9,000 acres. The park is renowned for its ancient pine trees that blanket nearly 50 acres of the area. Visitors can enjoy leisurely hikes amidst vibrant fall foliage and rolling hills that offer stunning views of the AuSable River valley.
It was extremely hot the day I was there, but the Old Growth Trail is pretty shady, and the short length was very doable. I would like to visit again and do one of the longer trails. It was very cool to learn more about the logging history in Michigan and how Hartwick Pines avoided that.
Jill M — Google review
Great place to camp! Enjoyed our stay. We had electrical site. Nice place to fall camp as you can also do some hiking. And you can visit the logging museum. With trails that will also take to you to a chapel in the woods.

Been going here for years. So sad all the damage to the good old pines. Our grandkids will never know. Bit I think it's time to mark the oldest tree's left. Along with what's left of the oddest. A lot was closed due to ice storms that came through in March. Very clean.

Beautiful park with full hookup campsites if wanted. Nice hiking trails with beautiful pines and aspens. Very clean bathrooms and showers. Very dog friendly.

Awesome campground! Very clean and staff are very friendly. The Visitor Center and Logging Museum are a great place to learn about Michigan's logging history and the development of the park. Tons of hiking trails!!!

Awesome park. Campground was full for our entire stat but very quiet. Beautiful park, well worth the drive.

Perfect place to visit when you need a peaceful walk. This quiet park has the best paved paths and very neat Logging Museum. Great place to bring lunch and sit at the picnic tables and take it all in!

The campsites are very nice along with all facilities. The visitor center is being renovated, ready about May 2026.

North Higgins Lake State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
Park
Lakeside park with a swimming beach plus opportunities for fishing, hiking, camping & picnicking.
South Higgins Lake State Park is a fantastic spot for a family outing, whether it’s just the two of you, the kids, or a big extended group. The park is super clean, with well-maintained restrooms and a great park store that offers rentals, ice cream, and food. There are plenty of picnic tables and charcoal grills, perfect for a cookout. Parking is easy, and the water is very shallow near the shore, making it ideal for families with small children. With activities like volleyball and lots of open space to enjoy, it’s a beautiful and relaxing place to spend the day. Highly recommend!
Tamara K — Google review
Amazing place to go to the beach! To the sandbar goes out a long ways so there’s plenty of room for everyone to be in the water and it’s not crowded. Even though there were hundreds of people there we had plenty of space.
Michelle M — Google review
Fantastic park! The bathhouses and restrooms are well maintained and new, there's drinking water available at a few spigots and the walk to the lake is relatively short. The only drawback is that some sites back up to a main road which is rather noisy; do yourself a favor and pay attention to the site map.
Dan F — Google review
Great place to go camping and boating. Family-friendly clean water. Nature trials and playgrounds. Can be hard to get a site on certain dates. Been a fav for 40 years.
Mo G — Google review
This State Park is absolutely beautiful. But if your first trip is approaching Memorial Day or before, the park is in maintenance mode. Site lawns aren’t cut, park is short staffed so if you need something or have some questions, it’s best to write them down and ask when you find someone! No registration until 3 pm so plan accordingly or you will be waiting around the dump station with a hundred other campers all making a beeline to the registration shack at 3! It’s crazy and ridiculous. It’s especially frustrating when previous camper has to be off the site at 1 pm and when you arrive at 3 with garbage in your fire pit and extra long grass. Fast forward 2 hours: So shortly after I was told the park was short staffed, we noticed a Park Truck with 4 or 5 park people in it. The truck was marked. We thought they were checking out what needed to be done. Until they stopped at the playground and started swinging on the swings!!! Our tax dollars at work!
Paula D — Google review
The water has a nice sandy bottom and you can wade out for a very long way with it still being very shallow. They have campsites. Grills. A bit down from the regular beach is a dog friendly beach. Great for kids and adults alike.
G&M L — Google review
We had the best day at the beach! Shallow water to put your beach chair in! Clean water. Great Atmosphere. Will be back.
Kara V — Google review
Gorgeous Michigan gem! We discovered there are now several paved full hookup sites one of which we were able to enjoy. Just a 5 - 8 minute shaded path to the pristine waters of North Higgins Lake. They have a dedicated dog beach, doggy potty bag stations, and everything was clean and well maintained. There are newer restrooms and large showers close by.

West Branch Outlet

Outlet mall
Shopping
Shopping-mall chain featuring a variety of brand-name & designer outlet stores.
My sister and I enjoyed the Antique, Made In America, and Second Hand stores. I plan to take my husband back to as many of the stores as we can. Fun stores and friendly people. I took pictures at the Made in America store to talk my husband into returning. I bought what I wanted and could afford at the second-hand store.
Leslie M — Google review
I've lived in West Branch most of my life, but sadly, the outlet is slowly dying. From the poorly maintained parking lot full of pot holes waiting to destroy your cars suspension to the few businesses that struggle to stay open, the biggest attraction this location offers is Applebee's.
Brian G — Google review
Not a bad little place, It looked nice. I didn't necessarily stop here. I went to the 🍎 🐝 next door to it. But it had some great store choices from the looks of it
Chelsea D — Google review
🤔mhmm, it’s something to do in a small town. Not too bad. They just opened in July so I don’t expect it to be hit single however I could see it becoming one in the future. The bathrooms were extremely clean. There are also a few locally owned shops which is always a plus. There’s this really nice winery place here and the owner I think seems to be really sweet. She didn’t say much, only a high and have a nice day but the way she said it, sounded like she was genuinely happy we considered coming into her store. You don’t get those smiles often haha.
Tiray R — Google review
Would love to see more stores here, but the ones we visited were super cute and had some very interested things to look at.
Heather M — Google review
Not very many stores there. Maybe 10 at most. Was looking for something more exciting
Cyndi R — Google review
There are fewer stores than in the past yet the Eddie Bauer Outlet is open and that was the reason we did the shopping trip. Good clothing that fits well and durable at the Eddie Bauer Outlet store.
Rob F — Google review
They have lost most of the stores. What is left is maybe 4 stores and a antique shop

Nature & Parks
Dow Gardens, spanning over 100 acres in Midland, is a stunning botanical paradise showcasing an impressive variety of plants and landscapes. Visitors can explore beautifully landscaped gardens adorned with vibrant flowers, towering trees, and charming bridges. The garden also features a historic home, sculptures, and an enchanting stream. Throughout the year, the gardens host various events such as Butterflies in Bloom during spring and outdoor movies in summer.
Dow Gardens and Whiting Forest is beautiful. We had a very tranquil day walking the length of the park and then some. We enjoyed seeing the different plants, flowers, and trees. The Canopy Walkway was also a treat to the flowers and trees from above. I enjoyed the Children's Garden tremendously. I learned a bit about some vegetables it may be easy to incorporate into my landscape and harvest for food - bonus! Highly recommend a visit to commune with nature and beauty for a few hours.

Dow Gardens is an absolute gem! 🌸 The entire place is beautifully maintained with vibrant flowers, peaceful walking trails, and well-designed landscapes that change with the seasons. The canopy walk is a must-try it gives you a stunning bird’s-eye view of the trees and gardens. It’s such a refreshing spot to relax, take photos, and enjoy nature. Perfect for a family outing, a quiet stroll, or even just some “me-time.” The staff is friendly, and everything feels thoughtfully taken care of. Truly one of the most beautiful places to visit in Michigan! 🌿✨

Enjoyable, relaxing, intriguing. Had a fabulous day wondering different paths throughout the gardens and your even encouraged to leave the path to walk across the lawn to find other hidden places. Saw lots of different varieties of plants and flowers. Thought things were labeled quite well so you knew what you were looking at. Had a canopy walk which was really cool to be up so high in the pine trees to look out across different areas of the grounds. The café by the canopy walk was very well priced having sandwiches, drinks and ice-cream. Looking forward to another trip on a Thursday or Friday so I can tour the Pines home.

Dow Gardens are beautiful. Such a peaceful and lovely way to spend an afternoon. Everything is very walkable and extremely well maintained. The staff are friendly and helpful. I met a friend at the gardens and we spent a few hours catching up, and we really enjoyed ourselves. They would be equally enjoyable solo, or as a family.

We visited this garden in Fall season and its perfect choice. Dow Gardens and Whiting Forest is awesome beautiful. We seen beautiful fall colors. We walked around the park and We enjoyed seeing the different plants, flowers, and trees. The Canopy Walkway was must see attraction at park. It has beautiful trail walk and glass top view. My daughter enjoyed the Children's Garden tremendously. Highly recommend a visit to commune with nature and beauty for a few hours.

This was an absolutely amazing experience. The grounds were gorgeous. Prepare to get lost in the vast gardens and venture down hidden paths amongst the flowers. I might have visited a quarter of the place in my almost 2 hours there, and I am already planning my next trip back. It's definitely worth the cost of admission.
Michael S — Google review
This is an awesome place. Well worth the drive. We came from 2 hours away. Lots of walking, beautiful paved paths, mulched trails. The canopy walk is built to stand till the end of time. The flowers and trees are all so beautiful. Everything about this place is so peaceful and calming. There is a waterfall, a stream, flower gardens, trees, ponds, bridges, and lots of soft green grass. There are also lots of benches to sit and enjoy the views and relax. Spend the day and enjoy.
KIM L — Google review
I love coming here in the Fall to see the colors of the leaves on the canopy walk. But the summer is just as nice. You can definitely get a workout in if you walk all of the gardens and the canopy walk in one day. So sad that the playground was made out of wood and rotting and got torn down. I do hope they make plans to make another one.

The Tridge (Midland)

Mentioned on

Park
Sights & Landmarks
The Tridge, a unique three-way wooden footbridge, is a popular tourist attraction in Midland, MI. Constructed in 1981 at the confluence of the Tittabawassee and Chippewa Rivers, it serves as a gateway to Chippewassee Park and other nearby attractions like the Midland Farmers Market and Pere Marquette Rail Trail.
Such unique architecture and beautiful scenery. Several different parks at the base of each bridge, including, but not limited to, splash pad, dog park, frisbee golf course, paved walking paths, and easy to use kayak loading and unloading docks. All within walking distance of local shops and restaurants . Bike repair stations, dog drinking fountains, they really thought of it all! Can't wait to go back!
Katharine P — Google review
A great place for a relaxing walk. The Tridge itself is a really cool bridge structure, but there's so much more to the area. There are parks in all directions allowing for multiple activities: Walking, bike riding, jogging, kayaking, etc. There are multiple dog parks for different sized dogs, playscapes for kids, even a skate park!

Seen pictures on FB. I have been wanting to go for some time now. I got the chance and brought my sister with me. What a beautiful place. So much to explore. And lots of walking. This is truly a BIG park. We were there ruffly and hour. And soaked up the atmosphere, statues, and beautiful flowers around the park. All of it was a vary interesting to see. You got to go and see this beautiful Tridge.
Molly R — Google review
The Tridge in Midland is one of the city’s most unique and iconic landmarks, and it’s so much more than just a bridge. This three-way wooden footbridge sits at the meeting point of the Tittabawassee and Chippewa Rivers, and each arm leads you to something different — making it the perfect hub to start an adventure. One arm takes you into Chippewassee Park, a large recreational area with ball fields, playgrounds, and plenty of green space. This is also where the Midland Dog Park is located, which is a big bonus if you’re traveling with pets. Another arm leads to St. Charles Park, a quieter spot that offers open grassy areas and peaceful river views. The third direction takes you straight into Downtown Midland, where you can grab food, shop, or connect directly to the Pere Marquette Rail Trail, a paved 30+ mile path that’s great for biking, jogging, or walking. The Tridge itself is well maintained, handicap accessible, and has beautiful views of both rivers. It’s a popular gathering place and you can feel the community vibe as soon as you’re there. When we visited, there were a ton of kids dressed up for homecoming photos on the bridge and in the parks nearby. Honestly, it’s a fantastic idea — the bridge, the river, and the parks make for a really stunning backdrop. What I love most about the Tridge is its versatility. Families with kids have space to play, dog owners have a park right there, and outdoor enthusiasts can hop on the trails. It’s also a great spot for photography — whether you’re catching the sunset over the rivers, snapping pictures of the bridge itself, or just documenting a day out with friends and family.

All photos are taken and distributed by Be Photographed. Dow Diamond is so much more than just a baseball field — it’s an incredibly fun and unique wedding venue. When I take photos here, I’m always impressed by how versatile the space is. Couples have access to the clubhouse suites for getting ready, the main concourse for cocktail hour or receptions, and even the field and dugouts for portraits. It’s a dream setting for creative wedding photography. The natural lighting is beautiful once the glass doors between the concourse and stadium are closed, giving the space an open, airy feel. There’s also plenty of parking, which makes it convenient for guests and vendors alike. Dow Diamond is one of the most distinctive and memorable wedding venues in Midland, Michigan — and I’d love to photograph another celebration here soon.

Dow Diamond is an experience all on its own. The crack of the ball the running and the diving for the catch all excitement happens here. There are a variety of vendors in the pathway to serve all your needs weather outside pretzel a beer or a hot dog they have something for everyone. We're walking in the pathway make sure to look at all the displays for the advertised many local businesses and Charities that you can visit. If you have a large group you can always rent out the Pavilion which serves any of the meals that you choose and has a great view of the field. If you are an avid baseball connoisseur make sure to get season tickets and if you're lucky they'll have box seats available then too. Cecilia spirit and support for the loons and come to a game cheer cheer cheer. Come support Midland and the loons you won't regret it. I even caught a foul ball my last visit, it was so exciting!

Lovely park.. very easy to navigate and a short walk to the bay if you like that kind of thing. 2 restrooms/showers and very well maintained. I popped in for a single night with my hammock and realized it was super quiet after 10pm. Ten out of ten would stop by again. Also was able to record two owl types on a bird watching app I use. Very cool.

I’m visiting from NH. Our lakes are very clear & clean. This lake was far from that. However multiple people were in the water swimming and my daughter didn’t mind the mud bath. I will say that the kids playground and splash pad was on and popping. I wish there was food store & souvi er shop.

The state park was amazing! There was a walkway the whole way that went through marshes and all the way to the beach! We saw deer and birds and a tern! There was even a walkway out to the water. It was much appreciated by my husband and me.
Jan J — Google review
Campground was great—clean bathrooms, spacious sites, and great for kids. The splash pad was awesome. The beach had nice sand and warm water, but the algae, muddy bottom, and very shallow water were disappointing. Loud music from boats near the beach took away from the otherwise peaceful feel of the park. Also part of the beach is private property.

U.S.S. Edson - Saginaw Valley Naval Ship Museum

Military Museums
The U.S.S. Edson - Saginaw Valley Naval Ship Museum, located near downtown Bay City, is home to the USS Edson, a 1950s destroyer with self-guided tours and exhibits featuring vintage artifacts. This warship served for 30 years in various conflicts across Asia and spent off-duty time near South Vietnam during operational tours there. The ship played a role in historical events such as the Paris Conference Agreement signing in 1973.
This was the Best Experience! I would highly recommend letting a guide take you through the ship, the knowledge, experience and stories shared make this an Unforgettable journey. Bill was our guide about a quarter of the way through that joined us and He was absolutely amazing! So much to learn and see. They even Host weddings, birthdays, school and troop trips! Go, you'll be glad you did!

Happily stumbled upon this great ship purely by chance. My 12 year old nephew was interested (first spark of life on the trip that day). We drove closer to take a look and discovered it was a museum and open. It was quite fascinating going aboard and seeing the entire ship. Very few closed or blocked doors. Worth the time and money for sure.
Dianne L — Google review
Impressive, love it. So much to explorer. And so much to learn about this ship. I love Navy ships. There a story to tell on each and every one of them in Michigan. So glad I stop on in. Staff was friendly , kind and helpful. Answered questions. And the gentleman in the gift shop had a story to tell about this ship. He was interesting to chat with. As we were leaving another gentleman chatted with us again and explained a few more details. I was intrigued with the fire pit outside the gift shop. He explained who donated it. And gave a story as well. I would come back again when I am going that way again.
Molly R — Google review
The first half of my visit was self-guided, and at my own pace. The areas off-limits were clearly marked and all guests receive a guide book containing rules upon entry in Admission Office/ Gift Shop. Halfway through my visit, I met Eric, a retired US Navyman, who not only offered to show me the Authorized Only parts of the ship, but also offered me some of his beautiful hand-made crafts as souvenirs. He taught me more than paper or books ever could, and I am SO thankful he was there to enjoy the weather as I was so we could explore the ship together. He crafts the rope work for the ship, and creates keychains for guests in his spare time. I would HIGHLY recommend seeing the ship and meeting the staff, but Eric is there most weekends if you're interested in an entirely unique experience! Please go when you have the time to truly appreciate the USS Edson!
Cheyenne M — Google review
The Edson is truly a gem. We took our Scout Troop there for an overnight experience. The volunteers were ALL amazing. The passion they have for history and this ship really showed at every turn. Specifically, Erik, who was our groups guide for the evening/night was absolutely amazing. He showed us parts of the ship and little details that we would easily have overlooked. I could tell that he really enjoyed giving tours and answering questions from both scouts and adults that were interested in learning more. Bruce (who actually SERVED on the Edson) also had some great insights and stories. If you are in Bay City, this is absolutely worth stopping for.
Jacki P — Google review
Very cool how close you can drive up to the ship and even stop get out and snap a picture of your vehicle, or even selfie or family photos with it. Great view of the water and definitely worth it at sunset!

This ship from the shore alone is magnificent. It looks big, but inside it is huge. Our tour guide Wayne, was fantastic. His knowledge of the ship and enthusiasm for the tour make it an unforgettable experience. It is worth far more that $15 a person. I cannot say enough good things about all of it. Even though we didn't see him, a big thank you to Paul as well.

Such a great little version of a zoo for younger kids who don't have a great attention span yet. They had such a blast being able to switch from animal watching to playing on the playground and then getting a snack. Everything is very reasonably priced for an "attraction" style activity. Definitely would recommend if you're in the area.

This zoo is small in size but had a great variety of animals! Perfect to take smaller kids and get to see everything in one day! Zoo was clean and well kept, staff were friendly and helpful! They have a restaurant, gift shop, carousel, and train ride! Lots of hand washing stations that were nice to have and bathrooms were clean! Would recommend for any age! All the different gardens that people or places sponsor were cool to check out also!

Well maintained zoo in Saginaw that has a nice variety of animals. Caretakers keeps the facilities clean and the animals seem to be happy and enjoying the visitors. Nice train for little kids to to see the entire zoo. Has concessions for a lunch if you did not bring your own. Enjoyed my time there.

Super cheap (got in for $6 a person!), cute little place to take your kids to explore, and even have a park and sand pit. Their gardeners need applause as well its so beautiful everywhere you look! They dont have things on display to buy so you dont spend money like other places (unless you go into the store). Loved it will def come again.

Very cute little zoo! I was shocked at how pretty it was and how close up you got to the animals. Plus its only $8 to get in if you're not a local resident. The train ride was cute and there was a nice pond in the middle. Definitely would revisit in the future

I’ve listed the menu here with the prices. It’s not for everyone. There’s is a lot of shopping in the walking area around the two main restaurants that serve the all you can eat chicken dinners. Great hotels to spend the night. Water park attached to the hotel. I’ve stayed in the past. Very nice and fun. Overall great for a weekend getaway or an afternoon.

I absolutely love the Frankenmuth River Shops! I make it a point to visit at least once a year, and each time is a delightful experience. This year, I'm especially excited for our trip; it’s the perfect small getaway for the family, filled with charm and activities to enjoy together. The atmosphere at the River Shops is incredibly inviting, set within the enchanting Bavarian-style town of Frankenmuth. Strolling along the picturesque pathways lined with vibrant shops is a joy in itself. There’s a fantastic variety of stores, each offering unique items, from handmade crafts to stylish clothing and local artwork. I always find something special to take home! If you're looking to indulge, the array of treats is impressive. From delectable fudge and homemade ice cream to gourmet popcorn and artisanal chocolates, there’s something to satisfy every sweet tooth. The flavors are rich and wonderful, making it hard to choose just one! What I love most is that Frankenmuth caters to both families and couples. Whether you’re enjoying quality time with your kids or seeking a romantic escape with your spouse, there’s no shortage of activities. You can explore quaint cafes, indulge in wine tastings, or relax by the river and take in the beautiful scenery. Prices at the shops are comparable to what you’d expect in a popular vacation town, but the quality and experience are well worth it. Frankenmuth River Shops consistently deliver joy, relaxation, and a sense of community that keeps us coming back year after year. Without a doubt, this place deserves a five-star rating!

A fun place to spend the afternoon! Lots of little shops to visit and explore. Snacks, drinks and food are all around. In a mixture of old world charm in a fun setting right on the river. They have tons of events that take place on the weekends. Reenactment, dog show, car shows etc.

An interesting and diverse shopping area...even for a grumpy husband. Loved the Bavarian theme. Shop keeper's were pleasant and helpful. Beautiful architecture and places to sit were adequate. ..clean and smoke free.

20250711 A very dogfriendly shopping area with Bavarian theme. Some of the stores like the jerky shop and hot pepper shop can be found in other shipping centers. I came here specifically for cherry republic. I did find something in the cats and dogs shop. Otherwise, I pretty much enjoyed the Bavarian storefront. I wish this was similar to the Nelis' Dutch Village with German merchandise and German feel to it.

Factory Outlets
Birch Run Premium Outlets is the largest outlet mall in the Midwest, offering a wide variety of stores including The North Face, Adidas, Aerie, and more. It's a great place for families with its family-friendly atmosphere and over 100 stores to explore. Visitors can find everything from apparel to cosmetics and even specialty items like barbecue sauces and hot sauces. Whether you're shopping for specific brands or just browsing around, Birch Run Premium Outlets has something for everyone at good prices.
My wife and I have found our way to the Birch Run Outlets for over 25 years now. You can find some great bargains if you have the time to look. Men, you won't be board because there's a lot for us too. A nice change I've seen over the years. One nice change is more 2nd hand and antique places to shop. One of my favorites is Flashback Vintage, you need to check them out.

This outlet mall has the potential to be a top-tier shopping destination—if more stores were added and closures were minimized. Its location is ideal, situated right off Interstate 75, making it a perfect stop for travelers looking to take a break, shop, and enjoy their journey. The surrounding area already offers excellent amenities, including a variety of restaurants and nearby hotels, making it convenient for overnight stays. As someone who frequently travels, I often look for outlet malls to stretch my legs, find great deals, grab a meal, and even spend the night. I genuinely enjoy the stores currently at this mall, but expanding the selection would significantly enhance the experience—not just for me, but for countless others traveling this major corridor. With just a few strategic additions, this outlet mall could truly thrive and become a must-visit stop along I-75. Please consider investing in its growth. The potential is already here—it just needs to be unlocked.

Lots of choices all in one area. Good place to get your excercise in while you shop. Most stores are walkable down the main sidewalk with crossing the parking lot. Some you will need to drive to next set of buildings over. This is a place you could easily spend the entire day.
R.A. M — Google review
This place is going downhill fast. We come here every year and each time we come here, it takes us less and less time to go through it. They no longer have a Spirit Halloween or Coleman store. The book store and retro store that were here are gone as well. I believe the Bose store is also gone. The only stores left are the Pepperidge farms and Sleeping Tiger as unique stores. Otherwise they have some other basic stores left that other outlet malls have like Nike, Under Amour, and Sketchers. So much of this mall has just been replaced with basic, boring, and very common stores. Not to mention one entire section has been replaced by a Goodwill, antique stores, and a small market. Who is going to a "premium" outlet mall for that? We spent only about an hour here this last time we were there, compared to previous years, we spent half a day here. It's still worth going for some of the unique stores but that's it. I would only recommend going on the way to Frankenmuth but absolutely not as a solo trip unless you are super into expensive clothes.

There are tons of awesome shops in several areas holding anything you need. If you can't find it here, you probably dont need it. There's plenty of parking, some restrooms, and a few places to grab a bite to eat as well as vending machines. The entire area is kept up with pretty well. Along with well-known shops, there are antique shops, art shops and other places to browse. Great variety, pretty good deals all around.

Steam Railroading Institute

Rail museum
Museums
This museum focused on steam-era railroad technology offers visitors a variety of train excursions.
So my family was in from Florida and we stopped and checked this out. My mom loved it! We had a guide who told us the history of the express and the history of all the cars taught us about steam engines we got lots of pictures. It was truly a lot of fun. I live right down the road and I had no idea that they did all that I thought it was just a train stop lol. Very happy that we went there. It was a lot of fun.

This was my first time going and my first time ever trying to get tickets. Let’s start with the good things. The staff is super friendly and organized at the station, everyone really enjoys working there, even the conductors and the staff that goes in every single carriage. I had the “cheapest” tickets and still it was pricey. They did gave me hot cocoa which I thought it was extra. The negative of this experience or things that I would have done different. - the train was behind an hour, people were waiting in the cold for an hour…I wish they told people before - they only have two restrooms inside!!! It took me 20 min. And they have portal potty’s outside, but still with the people they get I’m shock only two. - if you have small children I’ll call ahead and ask for a 4 seater. I wish I did this! - Ashley was so so so disappointed, the food was terrible and I agree with the vendors, not enough vendors that were about Polar express theme, which was disappointed. - The line for Santa was so long that when we went he wasn’t “available” anymore! -I’ll bring my own water and my own food - again not enough bathrooms and the portal potties are dirty. - they don’t have enough small children activities, and they have a slide and a carrousel but it’s 3 dolls for each time they go, even the slide which is pricey. I get that this what mostly people depend on their income but it needs a major improve, specially for the price you pay. Again, it’s so disappointed for families with small children about the quality of food, the activities and the environment. It’s sad that I didn’t feel like it was Christmasy or “North Pole”.

It was quite an experience here I've been wanting to go here for years. Not sure why but I finally made it only to see The polar Express was getting maintenance done so sorry to say this year I don't think there's going to be rides with this train pulling anyone. The wheels were completely off the train. Our tour guide that we had which is very informative about everything. I really enjoyed all he was telling me. I wish I could remember his name but he said that in my lifetime I'll never see this happen again to The polar Express train that was the train that featured in The polar Express movie. So next year I will have to go for a ride.

We attended the Christmas in July event and had so much fun exploring the trains and riding the mini train. We came early and so we didn't get to watch the movie. But the tour, mini trains and train musuem was totally worth it!! This was a free event when we went unless you wanted to ride the big train that was $5 a person.

This was our first trip on the Pere Marquette. We choose the swivel chairs which turned out to be an excellent choice for comfort and viewing. The staff in our car and elsewhere were incredibly friendly and made the trip fun. The town of Ashley is definitely geared towards children but it's fun to check out the small stores. Overall, it was a fun experience.

The North Pole Express was a magical experience. We went with a group of my Mom-Friends and our kids. We got the seats in the dining cars. The kids sipped on hot cocoa, had delicious treats brought to us on the on the way there and back. The staff in our car (Holly) lead Christmas songs and shared historical information about the train. The conductor came around on the way home and signed the Polar Express book that we bought in Ashley. Ashley completely transformed into the North Pole. All of the staff and vendors there were so incredibly joyful and in character! I was so impressed, it was Disney level commitment. There was a free magic show there, the Grinch, shops, rides, a toy shop where kids could make a toy and so many nods to the Polar Express movie. We loved it! Worth every penny and we will definitely do this again. Also making a trip back to Ashley because we didn’t get to do everything. If you go, definitely wear your pajamas like in the movie! Lots of people do this or wear matching shirts and holiday hats, necklaces, etc. You can bring snacks on the train, so that is great. Water bottles and non-sugary snacks are a good idea for the kiddos.

November 2021 - family of 5 went on the Polar express. We went on a Saturday night and had a blast. My 3 daughters are under 10. We went on Vixen and the 2 young ladies did a great job keep us entertained. We go to Ashley, MI. Its a small town and we went right to Santa. Didn't wait long. A lot of things for the kids to do. The volunteers are wonderful. You can make or buy items there. You can get food. We plan on doing this again next year with more family and friends. Tickets normally go on sale in the spring.

Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad is a charming 1800s-style lakeside village that boasts of 34 historic buildings and a fully operational train. The train ride takes around 35 minutes round trip, offering breathtaking views of the light display on both sides.

We started building an HO scale railroad layout and thought it might be a good idea to do some research on railroads and older buildings. So off we went to Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad in Genesee County. We purchased our tickets in advance on line. Before entering we walked by 2 beautiful gardens. One was a Monarch way station and the other was by Michigan State University Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Program. The day we went was the 43rd Annual Railfans weekend. What a fun place to visit 😃. All of the people working there were very friendly and helpful. We walked around and looked inside many of the buildings and were able to obtain lots of information for the model train layout. We also did a scavenger hunt and a little village tour. There were model railroad layout presented by several model railroad clubs. If you get an opportunity to visit, do it! We plan on going back and spending more time in the village and will definitely be taking another train ride on Engine #152.

Crossroads Village and Huckleberry Railroad is a great place to visit as a family! They always have cool Halloween attractions and they also have stuff during Christmas as well. Seeing, hearing, and being able to ride on an old school steam locomotive is a real treat as well!

I had a lot of fun here at Crossroads. It was cool and interesting to see all the different shops and exhibits scattered around the place. I espicaly enjoyed the school and the sawmill so I would definitely advise going there. In general, I found it really cool to explore some of the methods of doing things in the past that are just completely different nowadays.

The town is cute, but let’s be honest, we came for the train ride. We arrived over an hour early to get the caboose for the kids and were told the limit was 10 to 11 people. We even split our group so they could have that magical experience. But the conductor added 12 extra people, cramming the caboose so full that kids were sitting on the floor and standing while the train was moving. It didn’t feel safe, and it definitely wasn’t special anymore. The magic, the joy, and the excitement we came for were completely taken away. Our kids were heartbroken while the conductor focused only on the people he added. What’s the point of giving out caboose passes if they don’t mean anything? The magic was gone the moment that train left the station.

Beautiful place. If you live history this is the place. Every single place inside has a lot of tell you, you will find a host waiting in each one and in a very kind way, They will give you a lot of details of everything there, the older that is the person the better that si the story and kindness. My favorites places were the barber shop, the school, lumber, doctor’s office … anyways you need to see by yourself everything there. People extremely kind.

Digital & 3D screens for the latest releases along with Tuesday deals on tickets & snacks.

This theatre is absolutely disgusting. My feet are literally STUCK to rhe floor of theatre 14. I am RIPPING them off the floor everytime I move and it makes so much noise. They're incredibly gross and sticky. I will never come back here. Well continue going to Emagine in Birch run.

I love this movie theater! It's great for going with friends or family, or just hanging out. One of the things I like most is that it has reclining seats that you can lie down in, making it perfect for a relaxed and comfortable movie experience. The screen and sound quality are also excellent, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the film. Plus, the atmosphere is cozy and modern, making it an ideal spot for a night out with loved ones. Definitely one of my favorite movie theaters!

Clean theater, friendly staff. We really enjoyed our movie 🍿🎥 and snacks. Pricing for two at a 5pm movie with a snack package totalled about $50, so not exactly cheap but a lot of fun.

Caught a Monday matinee showing of the new Superman movie in IMAX at NCG Cinema in Grand Blanc, and overall it was a great experience. The theater was very clean and pleasantly quiet—definitely a perk of seeing an early-week movie. The popcorn was fresh (no stale kernels here), and the ICEE machines were working perfectly, which isn’t always a given these days. The staff seemed on top of their game, and everything felt well-maintained. That said, the cost is getting steep. One ticket, a small popcorn, and a large ICEE ran me about $30. It’s a bit of a hit to the wallet for a solo movie trip, even for a matinee. The film itself was solid—great visuals and action—and the IMAX screen really did it justice. Between the spotless theater and the quality snacks, I left feeling like it was worth the outing, but definitely something I’ll treat as an occasional splurge.

overall, a nice place. employees are nice, not so much when it comes to other customers. popcorn is always good and i like that they have butter machines that you can add more if you would like.

It's a nice theater. But they need more staff at the ticket counter. The staff was friendly. Could be kept cleaner around the beverage table, but it wasn't anything horrible. Seating isn't the most comfortable, but there is plenty of it. And it's nice that the arm of the chair can be put up.

The best movie theater in the area. We saw an IMAX movie here, and they did a great job making the entrance more grand than ever before. By this, I mean that they significantly improved the look of the entrance to the IMAX theater. The staff is always friendly, the theaters are nice, and the restrooms are always clean.

Kensington Valley Outlets

Shopping mall
Shopping
Shopping-mall chain featuring a variety of brand-name & designer outlet stores.
Like most outlets shopping malls are Kensington Valley Outlets has all the brands that you will find across America’s outlets BUT at a discounted price and special offered rate that is most reasonable. Well this items will not be the latest season merchandise ! But i would like to highlight its common area and washroom facilities that is really user friendly and has huge resting area for all. The Women’s washroom includes a nursing area and playroom. The toilet has a large space to keep all your shopping bags & goods. But i will suggest to put the Nursing Room & Playroom outside at the hall so its easily access by fathers / male too !

My husband liked to come up here, usually at night when it was quiet to do laps around the mall. Their new security shined a flashlight in my car and questioned what I was doing. I was told we cannot be here at this time anymore. Really??? We never had an issue running here at night when it was owned by tanger. It was a safe, lit up area to do something as simple as run. We have shopped here for 25+ years. You won’t be getting my business anymore.

Don't let your Wife or significant other drag you here. Endless amount of stores and deals to be had. You will have hours upon hours of every store telling you what percent off they have. I think they always have items discounted year round. I didn't see anywhere to eat or just get a snack. I would watch your belongings. It seemed to me that there were several people casing places and acting weird in the stores like they were trying to get a five finger discount. Not worth going to if you have a long drive.

This Outlet mall is conveniently located off Interstate 96 between Detroit and Lansing. It has the usual clothing and shoe stores, but also some resale shops - IMO very important during these days when prices are so high elsewhere. They used to be part of the Tanger Outlet group, but they’re working to make it even better.

They have a good amount of stores. I do love visiting this outlet, but I’m disappointed that the Tommy Hilfiger stores is permanently closed. I’m not sure if this is due to the retailer choosing to close the store or if the buy out of the outlets caused them to close due to certain factors.

Spicer Orchards Farm Market, Cider Mill, Fudge, Bakery

Cider mill
Fun & Games
Family-run farm with pick-your-own apples, hay wagon rides & a huge corn maze, plus a winery.
Stopped by for tart cherries picking. Didn't have time for anything else due to early closing time in my opinion, 7 pm. But it's what it is, owner knows best. Make sure to bring a hat and sunscreen if you are here on a sunny day for berry picking. Store is amazing too, lots of goodies or tasty items to choose from! The best farm in the area!

We had a great time apple picking at Spicer’s! Lots of fun activities for the kids, good cider and the best donuts ever! The orchard trees are all short which allowed even our 4 year old to enjoy picking.
Greg F — Google review
I had such a fantastic experience at this apple orchard! From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. Everyone was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed for a great visit. The prices are very reasonable — much better than other orchards I've been to. Whether you're picking your own apples or buying them from their market, you definitely get great value for your money. They do a wristband system for pick your own, one person free and then $5 per person after. When you finish picking they weigh your berries and it’s $3.95 per pound. The absolute highlight of our visit were the fresh, hot donuts and cold Apple cider! They had options to please everyone’s sweet tooth whether you want a classic cinnamon sugar, powered sugar or just plain. They even had glazed strawberry donuts during strawberry season. Great prices and helpful staff, we purchased a half gallon of cider for for $8.95 and a dozen donuts for $12.95. What really stood out was how knowledgeable and helpful the staff were. They gave us great tips on the best apple varieties for baking versus snacking, we were even given an apple to try when we couldn’t make up our minds on what to get. You can tell they love what they do and want to make sure every guest leaves happy. Highly recommend this orchard for families, couples, or anyone looking for a fun and affordable day outdoors. We’ll definitely be coming back in the fall!

They have 4 different tastes 🍩. Actually you can get half dozen bags or you can ask custom orders like me. I loved cinnamon one the best. And also plain one was very crispy I loved it!!!

DISAPPOINTING AND RUDE STAFF Prices are kind of high on a bunch of stuff, especially their fresh baked apples. They want $18.95 for a small bag. Not a 5 lb bag or anything like that. Like a 2 lb bag of apples so that's a first turn off Very overpriced on everything We get to the donuts and the donuts smell really good. They look really good. They're fairly priced-ish. I will say just for a very small strawberry donut you know $6 for a half dozen 1295 for a dozen. Something like that. The donuts do not have any flavor at all. They are just like eating paper I got a six pack of strawberry donuts and a six pack of defrosted strawberry donuts. The frosted ones are pretty good but all you can taste is the frosting. There is no strawberry flavor at all The regular unfrosted strawberry donuts have literally no flavor at all. There's no strawberry. There's no donut flavor. They're not sweet. They're just paper dough . Not one person said anything to us walking into the store or by the donut area. We got to the ice cream area. Once again nobody we went to the fudge area once again. Nobody around one employee came walking by didn't even acknowledge us We got to the barbecue sausage and stuff like that and I had to ask a lady at the front. Does the barbecue sauces have mustard because I am highly allergic to mustard on their ingredients list. All they have is some of the ingredients and then a category of spices, which in most cases means they use mustard But when you ask somebody they have no clue. So she basically told me in her opinion she would not buy any because it could have mustard in it because they don't specifically say it does or not So when you're told by an employee not to buy something then you just don't so I avoided that We asked that same employee did it cost anything to go pick strawberries She said no. You paid $2 for a cardboard box you go out you pick the strawberries and you come back and they weigh the strawberries and you pay them then We go out. I use a cane and a walker to get around and I tell you what if you are disabled or have a hard time walking or getting around in rough terrain. Avoid this it's hard for disabled people to do We get up to the front to pay and we are charged $5 for the wristbands that we were not told about. We were told they were free $2 for the box and $4 a pound for the strawberries which we were told about the $2 box and the $4 a pound for strawberries but not told about the $5 for the wristbands we were told they were free We go over to the winery and I will tell you this. I will never walk back into that winery again. Customer service was non- existent we were not greeted. We were completely ignored There were two gentlemen at the bar who apparently had been drinking for a while. There were two ladies at the other end of the bar who had like 10 bottles of wine and the one customer service lady there stuck with them the whole time. She did not check on anybody else. She didn't say anything to us until about 10 minutes of us sitting there in silence The older lady was extremely rude and snippy and stuck up. You can tell she did not want us there. She didn't care about us. She walked over in front of us three or four different times. Never even lifted her eyes to look at us We were going to get a couple samples of wine because we had never been there. So I asked for a sample of the honey white and she had to go get little plastic cups. She didn't say anything about hold on We asked for a sample of wine and the older lady was very rude about saying you can only have two She was very snotty and rude about it when she came back over after we had our two sips of wine and didn't even ask us if we wanted anything else. Just stared at us awkwardly I said we're good. I said my wife was going to ask about the mojito apple cider But doesn't want to spend that kind of money if it isn't any good. And she just looked at us and said it's just minty and then walked away from us We walked out and will never walk into the winery part again

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Spicer Orchards Farm Market, Cider Mill, Fudge & Bakery is hands-down one of the most vibrant and delightful places to spend a day in Michigan. Whether you're there to pick your own seasonal fruit—blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, cherries, peaches, and of course apples—straight off the vine or tree, or just to soak up the sights, it delivers an experience that feels both refreshing and wholesome. 🧺 The pick-your-own experience is top-notch. With a fun wagon ride to the fields, it’s easy to access the freshest fruits imaginable—nothing beats the flavor of something that’s just been picked. They even offer lavender cutting, adding a fragrant, colorful touch to the adventure. 🍩 After picking, the farm store is an absolute must-visit. Fresh doughnuts made all day, creamy fudge, ice cream, homemade jams and fruit salsas, cider slushies, honey sticks—you’ll want one of everything. And for those 21+, the winery offers a rich selection of wines and cider beers. If you're unsure what to try, a flight and a few appetizers is the perfect intro. 🎡 In the fall, Spicer Orchards transforms into a festive playground of joy. Food vendors dish up favorites like BBQ, corn dogs, elephant ears, street corn, popcorn, and fresh lemonade. Kids (and grownups alike!) can explore the playground, get lost in the corn maze, or hop on amusement rides. This is a true one-stop destination for family fun, seasonal delights, and homemade treats. Whether you stay for an hour or the whole day, you’ll leave smiling—and probably with a bag full of goodies. Don’t miss it!

We visited Spicer Orchards for the first time yesterday. My husband and I took our two young kids and met my mom here since it was so nice outside. Some people on here complain about the $5 wristbands, but I personally think it's not a bad price for what you get if you take advantage of what they offer. My son had a wonderful time playing on the playground for a long time and especially loved the sand/dirt area. The animals were very cute and friendly, and my son lovingly referred to the cow as "big fella", haha. Everywhere we went seemed to be well maintained and clean. The gentleman doing the tractor rides was so nice and offered to take our pictures after the hay ride and chat with us. The store was a little narrow for strollers, but we were able to manage fine since it wasn't packed (but still had a lot of people for a weekday, in my opinion). It was all very organized and they really make sure to take advantage of the space that they have. We got to try samples of fudge, and the watermelon and maple bacon flavors I felt were very unique and delicious. They have fresh donuts in bags on the back counter, and we could tell that the pumpkin cinnamon were very popular. We had no problem waiting a few minutes for those, and they were very tasty and fresh, along with the cider. Now, we picked up a blueberry pie to take home, and this is what prompted me to write this long winded review. The pies were still warm when we picked them off the table, so they were fresh. I don't normally like fruit pies, but I've now come to realize that is because I never had good fruit pies. This is hands down the best one I've had, and my mom who got an apple pie said the same thing. Wow! My dad was bummed he couldn't come with us this time, but we will for sure be back when the food trucks are here, to do more wagon rides and u pick, and to pick out pumpkins. Spicers is definitely a new favorite cider mill for us. 🙂

Went there today. It was fun for the kids. BEAUTIFUL PLACE. They really did a great job with all the activities, and you never had to wait too long for a tractor ride to pick you up. However, I know that this is the big season for the local farmers and orchards right now. I get that the prices are high for the season. This is when they make most of their money for the year. I love supporting family-owned businesses like this. What I didn't like was the price the food vendors were charging. A walking taco was $14, and a 16-oz drink was $4.00. Make sure to eat before you go. It's crazy getting three drinks and two walking tacos, and it came out to $44. Bubble Tea for one drink was $9, and the funnel cake was $10.00. Get a big purse and bring your own food. I won't be price gouged like that again.

Pine Knob Music Theatre

Live music venue
Concerts & Shows
Theaters
Amphitheater featuring a 15,000-seat pavilion with lawn seating, expansive beer garden & BBQ eatery.
Great place for an outdoor concert! The staff is always fantastic, professional, helpful and attentive. We have attended several concerts here and always have a great time before, during and after the events. Several locations for drinks, food and show memorabilia. Nice big venue with plenty of restrooms close to the seating. They do an awesome job of getting cars in and out in a timely manner. No complaints, definitely recommend Pine Knob for quality entertainment!

Drove 3 hours to Pine Knob to see Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin here. For whatever reason, the tickets we bought from ticketmaster showed the show starting at 02:30pm. And the main reader board along the road also showed 02:30pm. So we showed up at 02:15pm only to find out the show didnt start until 07:00pm for the opener. 4.5 HOURS LATER. And they do not allow you to leave and go back to your vehicle once you enter. There were thousands of us sitting around anywhere we could just to pass the time. We heard many people complaining while we sat around because their tickets were exactly the same. The show itself? Phenomenal. One of the best I've seen. Our view was great, the sound was great, and the seat was decently padded when we were sitting. The food overall is expensive, about $15 for a beer, $15 for chicken tenders and fries, and $10 for a Little Caesars slice.

I’ve been here twice and it’s def my favourite concert venue I’ve been to. Parking is included and fairly efficient getting in/out. Lots of amenities and areas to hang out. Prices are outrageous for drinks and food but you can bring a sealed/clear water bottle that you can refill if you want to save money there (would be nice if they had an actual water refill station rather than just a water fountain). Bathrooms have always been pretty clean. I’ve only sat under the pavilion but I found the sound and view to be great for the price.

Recently went and saw Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin here, we had great seats in the band shell! But all around this venue is absolutely beautiful!!! It was the first time I had ever been there, and I just loved evey5hing about it. There's beverage and food options everywhere, I love that they have people walking around selling cold beverages, and to be honest the prices weren't THAT bad. I loved the venue and the show! I cant wait to see another show here soon!
Ashley R — Google review
Great venue. Lots of vendors for food and drink. And not super expensive. 😉 Sound was clear and not excessively loud. Lawn area was comfortable with great stage visibility. Pay attention to entry rules before going and smooth sailing. Bring that one bottle of water per person. It's 6 bucks there.
H R — Google review
Wonderful spot hidden in thre middle of know where! Easy access getting into venue. Parking was free and easy. Bathrooms were clean and no line!!!!! Hill seating/standing was perfect spot. Could use more screens to help with better viewing of concerts in grass area....only had 3 screens and really not large enough.
Kelly E — Google review
The best venue to watch a concert! Parking lot is great for tailgating. Not a bad seat in the place. But my favorite is how fast they move the traffic out ! 3 lanes of continuous movement means you are out of the place honestly within 10 minutes!
Sheryl B — Google review
First time I have been here to see a concert and I read reviews about how to park at the end of a row to get out quickly, get there somewhat early as well and I was glad I listened to that. The seats we had were at the very top for pantera but were great seats and we had a great view. Huge drawback were the prices for food and alcoholic drinks. They wanted $22 dollars for a frozen drink, $6 for a basic bottle of water, $7 for a small bag of popcorn that is not even popped fresh. Plan to eat before you get into the venue unless you don't mind spending a fortune on food and drinks. Also if you want concert tee shirts look for the guys walking the parking lot and selling shirts for $20 instead of $40 at the tee shirt stand. All in all good experience.

Great Lakes Crossing Outlets in Auburn Hills, Michigan is a shopper's paradise with over 185 retail stores, including brand outlets. The mall offers a variety of activities such as visiting the SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium and LEGOLAND Discovery Center, dining at the Rainforest Cafe, catching a movie at the AMC theater, and exploring numerous shops. It's an enclosed space where you can enjoy window shopping and people-watching for free.
Great Lakes Crossing Outlets is a fantastic shopping destination that offers a wide variety of stores and experiences. During my recent visit, I was thoroughly impressed by the vast selection of retail options, ranging from popular brands to unique specialty shops. The layout of the outlets is very convenient, making it easy to navigate between stores and find exactly what you're looking for. One of my favorite stores was [Favorite Stores], where I found incredible deals and a friendly staff ready to assist. The entire atmosphere of the outlets is vibrant and lively, with plenty of dining options to take a break and refuel during your shopping spree. The customer service was exceptional, and the cleanliness of the facilities added to the overall pleasant experience. I would highly recommend Great Lakes Crossing Outlets to anyone looking for a comprehensive shopping experience. I rate this outlet mall [Rating Out of 5 Stars] stars out of 5 for its impressive selection, deals, and overall enjoyable environment. I can't wait for my next shopping trip here!

Amazing outlet mall!! Passing thru (NH resident here) brought my nephew to his 1st mall!! Got school clothes& shoes. Very impressed with the prices in multiple stores

While I was in the Detroit area, decided to visit this mall and was very pleasantly surprised. The mall has a large variety of different stores, many being discount outlets with good deals on their products. There was a large food court with a variety of restaurants and there are even some snack and food stores scattered throughout. Plenty of parking and very clean too. Seems to be a thriving mall and is great compared to others these days.

Wow!! This mall is very much thriving and packed full of great stores! This mall is what every mall in America should strive to be. The mall is very modern and architecturally fascinating inside, has a huge food court with a carousel, and the layout is very easy to follow along to see all the stores. We walked the entire mall and stopped into many stores, I dont think I saw any empty storefronts and if I did it wasn't many at all. Every mall store you expect to see is located here, and more! There were lots of stores I haven't heard of before and they were all very clean, bright, and modern. Nothing was run down here, way to go!! Highly recommend shopping here, especially since its full of outlet stores where deals can be had!

Visited this outlet mall recently and was pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of stores and solid discounts. From big-name brands to smaller specialty shops, there’s something for everyone.

Great outlet mall, has the best stores very big and just out right amazing. Loved all the things to do for the family while still having amazing shopping options for everyone. Food choices were pretty good from what I can see but didn't eat there to give a true review. Will I go back, absolutely and live almost 4 hours away.

This mall was the biggest mall I’ve been to yet! There were so many different stores, restaurants, and other places to visit! Me and my family went to Sea Life, and it was an experience we’ll never forget!

Great Lakes Crossing Outlets stores are not all bargains but you can definitely cash in on great deals. The food court was not good at least Popeye chicken was horrible and they didn't really speak English so they didn't honor their own coupon.

SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium, located inside the Great Lakes Crossing Mall in Auburn Hills, is a popular family-friendly attraction featuring over 250 marine species. Visitors can explore various exhibits and even walk through an underwater Tropical Ocean Exhibit tunnel to see sharks and sea turtles up close. Additionally, the aquarium offers play areas for kids and group packages. Adjacent to the aquarium are other attractions such as the Rainforest Cafe, AMC theater, and LEGOLAND Discovery Center, providing a full day of entertainment for visitors.
Great aquarium. I'm 39 years old I crawled through the tunnels... Loved it.. I have been in fish keeping for 17 years now.. I have salt.. fresh and corals... And I will say I wasn't expecting much from this place . But instead I was pleasantly surprised everything I was healthy, clean and looked really well taken care of.. Deff a place to visit

For it being in a mall its oretty decent size. They have an area you can feel starfish and other creatures which is pretty cool. Then you can go around seeing all the different sea life exhibits they have which includes a nursery. My favorite was finding the ginormous eel that likes to hide. I absolutely recommend going its great for everyone but especially children.
Alexis K — Google review
Sea Life was a great experience!! So many different variety of fish to see. Its great for kids, especially the different little places for the kids to climb in so they can see some 9f the fish up close. We hade the behind the scenes tour and it was so informative.. Definitely go if you can!
Denise — Google review
We enjoy walking our littles through the aquarium. The play structure and various activities are pretty engaging too. We had fun trying to find all of the eels the last time we visited.
Amber F — Google review
This was my first time visiting SEA LIFE Aquarium, and it was such a nice experience. My nephew really enjoyed it, and I loved that they offered a touch pool where you could feel sea urchins, stingrays, and starfish. It's definitely a fun place for kids. I recommend adults buy tickets online the day before because it's cheaper instead of buying tickets the day of or buying in person.
Mia — Google review
We love this aquarium! We've been here about 4 times, most recently at the request of my 8 year old for her birthday. We love all of the creatures, but the sharks, turtles, stingrays, and of course NUGGET are our favorites! We really like the area where you can touch the starfish and anemone, and the jellyfish with the color changing light is another super fun thing for the kiddos. The gift shop also has lots of cool stuff. We love it here! 🐠🪸

Cool experience and the sea life appeared comfortable and interactive with visitors. A bit pricey however for how short the walk through is. Well maintained tanks and unique opportunity for those loving aquatic life.
Laura R — Google review
Such a cute experience and well worth the money; even my 16-year-old daughter loved it. The young lady who took the photos was so patient , and all the other staff was super sweet as well, which I liked a lot. Their tanks are so clean, and the fish literally try and interact with you. I look forward to going back again.

Nature & Parks
Kensington Metropark is a sprawling green oasis that offers an array of outdoor activities for nature lovers and families alike. With two inviting beaches, a well-maintained golf course, and a nature center featuring engaging exhibits and guided hikes, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The trails surrounding the nature center are particularly delightful; you might even find birds eating from your hand! These scenic paths are perfect for family hikes, complete with benches and informative signs along the way.
We live 50 minutes away but we LOVE this park! It’s $10 for a day pass. The water slides and splash pad is $7 per person for all day. The Swan paddle boat rental is $17 for an hour. And, feeding the birds and chipmunks from your hand is free! Just bring bird seed and nuts. We also love visiting the farm and their maple program is really interesting and fun! We’ve never been in the winter but they do have a sledding hill.

Very peaceful! The bathroom and shower area is clean. You will see staff throughout that goes over and beyond keep the area clean. Splash pad was really nice our family loves it. Food court reasonably priced and food tastes good too. Few trails for to walk/bike off the food. They even have bike rentals. We set in the parking lot and had a picnic so we had lots of fun.

Beautiful park with so much to do. We love the little farm and all the different playgrounds. Can't wait for the weather to warm up so we can check out the beach and splash pad. Great place to take family pictures too.
Paige T — Google review
Nice park, but I am very annoyed with how fast people drive through here. They tailgate you in 25mph zones and zoom around like they own the place. Unfortunately, this place has a shortage of police officers. I know this problem can be fixed if they were able to hire more bodies.
S G — Google review
Excellent metropark! I grew up in Milford so I know this one well. Tons of amazing walking/biking lanes and trails, lots of good fishing areas, and there's no lack of excellent picnic spots. The nature center is great. Make sure to say hi to Ranger the falcon while there! He's just the best. The farm area is awesome as well. Seeing all the animals is a blast. Sometimes they'll be out to pasture though so be prepared to have some unavailable for viewing haha. Autumn is a glorious time to visit. The colors that you'll see throughout the park are insane. Nice to just kayak out and fish, lay back and enjoy the scenery. Have fun!
MEbrickCo — Google review
Kensington Metropark is a fantastic place to spend the day with friends and family! The beach is clean and enjoyable, perfect for cooling off on a sunny day. Kids will absolutely love the splash pad—it’s fun, safe, and very well-kept. Just note that there’s a small entry fee for both kids and adults at the splash area. Boating is another highlight here. Whether you’re into kayaking, paddle boating, or just enjoying the views from the water, it’s a relaxing experience. The park charges a $10 entrance fee per vehicle, which is very reasonable considering the facilities and scenery. The restrooms are well maintained and clean, which is always a big plus. Overall, it’s a great spot for picnics, outdoor activities, and simply spending quality time outdoors. Highly recommend for a day trip or weekend outing!
Kathiresan S — Google review
This Metro Park is one of the most soothing parks in Michigan. The walking and bike trail go on for miles! The lake is calm and inviting. During the day most of the people are polite and getting much needed exercise. I recommend this State Park.

Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum is a delightful gem that combines the charm of an arcade with the nostalgia of a museum. Opened in 1990, this snug space showcases an impressive collection of vintage coin-operated machines dating back to 1960. Visitors can enjoy everything from modern arcade games to retro fortune-tellers, all while collecting physical tickets for their gameplay. The atmosphere is vibrant and bustling, especially on weekends when families flock to experience its unique offerings.
I wish there was a 10 stars 🌟 This is one of the greatest attractions in the entire Midwest! I've been coming here my entire life. From brand new pinball games to antique automatons! It's truly incredible. Great for kids, adults, birthday parties and fantastic for a date night! You can't go wrong with a visit to Marvin's! Great popcorn and stack up your tickets to get a fun prize!

It was a really fun place! Me and my mom went here for a day trip last summer. It was one of the most fun days I've ever had. There is so much to do, cool prises, fortunate telling, arcade games, and much more! 10/10, would recommend

Eclectic, fascinating, pocket book friendly, and fun for EVERYONE! We spent 4 hours taking it all in. It's an antique enthusiast dream, so much to see! Great mix of retro/modern games and a snack bar! Even the prize station was good! We can't wait to come back!!
K. F — Google review
We traveled up from Nashville to visit Marvin's. Such a cool eclectic collection of vintage games, animatronics, signs, oddities, etc. I could spend hours there. Most games are either 25 or 50 cents to play. How cool is that? Very!! There are no words or photos that could share the coolness of Marvin's.
Adrienne H — Google review
Great arcade with the twist of also being a museum. All the machines are coin operated with physical tickets, excellent for nostalgia. The luck struck us a few times with jackpots and bonuses, but also with malfunctioning machines. Employees were quick to fix the ones they could and make it right. Tons of machines, and a bit cramped. Glad I didn’t need any of my mobility aids or else it may have been tricky to move around. Wish the redemption center had a better exchange rate or a few more adult aimed items. We still had fun though and can’t wait to come back when it’s in the new location.
Sarah T — Google review
This place is awesome!! You can go in for free and look at all the vintage and newer games, exhibits and concession stand. All classic games are still only a quarter!! Pinball is $1 a game but this place is worth stopping by and I hope they don't tear it down. I'm so glad I went and you should too!!
Melissa M — Google review
Very unique to say the least. We didn’t realize it was a fully functioning arcade but very cool. We saw games from as early as 1930’s from all over the world. I wish there was some literature or QR codes giving more info.
Joel C — Google review
A wonderful little place full of wholesome/vintage arcade games for all levels and ages, including classics like Dance Dance Revolution and Guitar Hero! There are so many oddities and fun things to see. It definitely feels like a relic from time gone by, but I can see why the locals love it for sure. If I lived here, I would be there every weekend playing the drum game! I got zero tickets, but I didn't want to leave.

Park West Gallery

Art museum
Show, sale & auction art gallery in a Greco-Roman space displays contemporary & established works.
I recently attended an event at Park West Gallery, and I was completely mesmerized by the stunning artwork that took center stage. This gallery is truly a hidden gem! I had no idea such an incredible place existed until now. The museum is expansive and houses the largest collection of art I’ve ever seen under one roof. Every corner was breathtaking, with pieces that spoke to the heart and soul. It’s a paradise for any art lover. The venue itself was the perfect spot for the event, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication to the entire experience. Every piece was beautifully preserved and thoughtfully displayed, making it a paradise for art lovers. There’s so much to admire that it’s impossible to take it all in during one visit—you’ll definitely want to come back. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, enhancing the overall experience. I appreciated the secure gate at the entrance and the convenience of leaving jackets at the front. The entire space was impeccably clean and well-maintained, which added to the gallery’s charm. Practical details like parking were well thought out too, plenty of space and very convenient. I’m already planning to bring an art-loving friend back here to explore and enjoy this incredible space. Park West Gallery is not just a museum but an experience that stays with you. Highly recommended!

Just returned from a VIP event at the Grove Park Inn. What a phenomenal weekend. The art, artists, and entire Park West team were the best. The event was fun, educational, and more than I could ask for! I can’t wait to hopefully have the opportunity to go again. We even got a visit from a mama bear and her cub as we left. Thank you Park West for an exceptional experience.

I love Park West Gallery. We first were introduced to this company on a cruise ship. We participated in an auction and bought some very reasonably priced art. We were then invited to a VIP event which was fabulous. We purchased more art that we absolutely love. We have subsequently participated in an online auction. We had a ton of fun and got some great deals on some absolutely stunning artwork. The customer service has been exemplary. All of our artwork has been shipped within a reasonable timeframe and has been in perfect condition. The artwork is exactly as described. The reproductions were clearly sold as reproduction, and the original art clearly sold as original and unique art. There were no high pressure sales, and I learned a great deal about new artists that I never would have discovered had I not participated in the educational sessions during the VIP event. if you are looking for high-quality art to make your home look beautiful then I would highly recommend working with Park West Gallery. I am by no means under any assumptions that I am purchasing artwork that is going to drastically increase in price or be a long-term investment. If you are purchasing art from Park West gallery with that assumption then I do not think you are purchasing for the right reasons. If you want to purchase the art because you think it’s beautiful and it’s going to make you happy then this is a company that will help you accomplish that goal.

I could not be more displeased with this company! I commissioned a painting from Michael Goddard, I understood when I purchased this painting that it was coming in a certain frame. But when I received my artwork the frame was broken in all four corners and come to find out it was a extremely cheap plastic framing, along with only a piece of plexiglass. I tried to get the company to help me reconcile my framing issue, my only options were to have them send me the exact same cheap frame take it to a local framer and have them reframe it but they would only reimburse me up to $100! Or they would send me a FedEx label to send the painting back to them they would reframe it and send it back to me. When I asked if I could purchase a new frame they said it would cost me at least $799! This company had invited me on an all-paid trip to Asheville North Carolina to see more of the artist work that did this painting for me. I canceled the trip and I absolutely refused to ever do business with part Gallery West again. Not one person from that company has called me in regards to my disappointment and have certainly let them know how disappointed I am with their company. I went to reframe the painting myself when I did I found out that their company had actually taped my painting to the backboard, the framer was afraid to remove the tape because it might destroy the painting. I cannot believe that this is the type of product they are producing for Michael Goddard! Never again Park Gallery West! The first picture is the new framing the rest of the pictures are of the cheap plastic framing and the damage.

Edited to let everyone know that their reply below with any email to contact means nothing as they just wouldn't reply to your email! If I could give zero stars I would. I purchased a very expensive painting from a Park West art auction on a cruise, which was supposed to include several free prints and EU shipping to avoid taxes and fees. None of that turned out to be true. I was hit with unexpected customs charges and spent weeks dealing with FedEx because of incorrect paperwork Park West provided. The free prints, which were promised as part of the same shipment, were sent separately with errors in the documentation, and they ended up being confiscated. I’ve spent countless hours emailing FedEx and Park West, and Park West’s customer service has been utterly useless. Emails go ignored, staff don’t seem to read what you’ve written, and basic requests are either misunderstood or ignored entirely. For a company dealing in high-value artwork, their aftercare is shockingly bad. What should have been a joyful experience purchasing my first major art piece has become a stressful, drawn-out ordeal. I would strongly advise others not to purchase from Park West

I've bought several pieces of artwork by Michael Cheval and their amazing. Plus, they'll finance the artwork. Their framing department is First Rate. Give them a shout if you wish to invest in artwork.

This company is unethical and has deceptive practices. Beware. Was told I was getting an original, which was not the case. Was later informed the artist would be preparing a piece for me that would slightly differ from what I purchased. Was later informed that it would possibly take longer than the 12 weeks they indicated for shipping and delivery. Nothing about my experience with PWG has been positive. Not to mention, they are horrible with follow up. Thanks for your quick reply. However, you’re not going to take the appropriate action necessary. Your senior reps are the ones I reached out to initially and they never replied until I disputed the credit card. Again, poor business practices, and what is being offered is not acceptable.
