Fantastic wine, friendly staff, and yummy cheese plate. A shining gem in Washington Wine Country!
Sharla L — Google review
14 Hands has consistently delivered high quality, excellent value WA red wine blends for many years. The 2019 Juicy Red is another great example. Syrah based, it serves up complex, well balanced blueberry, dark cherry, black current, mocha and spices. We enjoyed ours during a delicious roast beef dinner. Still youthful for about an hour, it smoothed out nicely for sipping after dinner.
Paul — Google review
This place is amazing! I read a comment that said the wines are totally different than what is in the store and that is 100percent true. Great wines at a great price. The white cabernet is divine and the charcuterie board has the best cheese I've had in years.
Jennifer V — Google review
We continue to enjoy going to 14 Hands each time we visit our family in the Tri-Cities so that we may select a few more bottles to bring back home to Napa where we live— we especially love their Cabernet Sauvignon! What we like is that 14 Hands offers a good selection of reasonably priced wines. We also really enjoy the wine tasting experience because 14 Hands has a very nice tasting room, a pleasant and knowledgeable staff, and a large and welcoming patio area— we recommend ordering the cheese plate, which we have found to nicely complement our wine tastings!
Nathalie M — Google review
A beautiful winery serving one of our favourite Chardonnay’s!! Just a quick first stop on a whirlwind three week road trip, we couldn’t ask for more! Grabbed a few bottles to go for our evening “night cap” in the next town/state!! Thank you 14 Hands for making such tasty product!!
Gordon M — Google review
Went here for a wine tasting and they were so awesome and so nice that we ended up joining their wine club which has no membership fee. As a result our complete wine tasting was free and the bottle the prices of the bottles of wine were greatly reduced. It's a very nice wine tasting room with a big large outdoor area that wraps all the way around. Besides the tasting room in large outdoor patio area, they have some interesting vintage barnwood displays, an art gallery, and a little store. Employee Cassandra took great care of us and told us so much history of the winery and their different grapes and vintages. We had such a fun time, highly recommend.
Lisa M — Google review
Our highlight of our winery visits in Prosser was the warm welcome we got from Casandra and Veronica at the Best Western Express and 14 Hands winery. They represent the best of the company!
Carole H — Google review
We stopped by this lovely tasting room while on a road trip in July 2022, as a respite from driving in the 100°+ heat. It was a very pleasant experience. The atmosphere of the tasting room is very nice, our tasting guide was wonderful and we enjoyed some unique reserve wines that the winery does not distribute very widely in liquor stores. So, of course, we ended up buying a few bottles. Highly recommended!
David L — Google review
Great spot! - & friendly staff... Chelsee was very helpful and we enjoyed her knowledge and sense of humor. Highly recommended!
Kevin L — Google review
First time at a tasting room in Eastern Washington. This place was not crowded for a Sunday, but we were not their during the busy season. Learned about their process and how they get their wine. Had some nice reserves while there.

While on a stroll in The Dalles, I came across a magnificent church building known as Old St. Peter's. Despite seeing it countless times from the freeway, standing beside it gave me a new perspective on its grandeur. Although I couldn't explore its interior due to limited tour availability, I learned that there is also a newer St. Peters in town. Nevertheless, the name 'Upon this Rock' beautifully symbolizes the enduring nature of the Church itself.
Beautiful piece of history. Make sure you go see this protected landmark.

Amazing space and place!! Great acoustics and a beautiful place for an event or some music. So awesome that they saved this place so many years ago. Stop by and check it out if you have some time. 😁

It is beautiful and I was fortunate enough to have the volunteer play the pipe organ.

Beautiful old Catholic church, now an historic site and event venue. Wonderful docent walked me thru the place and told me special details and stories. Definitely worth an hour. Check ahead-hours are limited.

Sunshine Mill boasts one of the most distinctive tasting rooms, located in a former wheat mill with remnants of its industrial past. The space has been transformed into a cheerful and cozy lounge while retaining the old machinery and workbenches. It was the first building in The Dalles to use electricity, housing the Thomas Edison motor that can still be seen today.
Omg what a gem!!! Can’t wait to bring my friends & fam here. Sooo cute! Anna really took care of me & was so knowledgeable about the wine. Very cozy & plenty of unique seating for everyone to enjoy. Will be back!
Christina P — Google review
Went there with my daughter, granddaughter, and my sons lady friend. Did the wine flight and charcuterie boards. Great place, decor, and food/wine. Enjoyed our ladies' afternoon.
Don H — Google review
We were at the Sunshine Mill Winery several years ago and all I can say is, it just keeps getting better! What a unique place for a winery, in an old elevator/bakery. This is a place not to be missed. There are so many little cozy areas to sit and explore. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The wines were very good and so was the food to go along with it. You MUST stop and see this place. It is now our favorite winery and wish we had something like this closer to San Diego.
Michael M — Google review
Great space. We rented a space for our rehearsal dinner and it was perfect for people to mingle in a group or more intimate setting. Loved the decorations!
L S — Google review
The atmosphere was very cool, vintage decor. The staff were friendly yet preoccupied and not very attentive until the end of our visit. The tasting, the wine was great
Siobhan H — Google review
This has got to be a bucket list place to go. It is so unique and quirky, but oh so relaxing too. The tasting are only $10! It is a MUST SEE! I went and they were not that busy, which was really nice because the place was quiet and I sat down with my tray of wine and read a book. After doing so, I did buy the Winemakers White blend which was AMAZING. Their red wines were very bold in my opinion. They do take the $10 and apply it if you buy a wine, so I would reccomend it!
R P — Google review
Great wine, fantastic food, incredibly cool decor, super friendly staff. Edited to add: We just had our wedding at Sunshine Mill last weekend and it could not have gone better. The staff rearranged their entire tasting area to turn it into an amazing dance floor and karaoke area. They worked closely with our other vendors to make sure everything went off without a hitch, and they kept us in the loop during the months leading up to the big day. I can't thank them enough for helping us throw such an amazing party for our family and friends. If you're looking for an affordable but strikingly beautiful and unique wedding venue in the Gorge, definitely pay a visit to Sunshine Mill. You won't be disappointed.
Pat M — Google review
This was a stop on our Valentine's Day tour of Gorge Wineries, and this one had by far the best customer service. Great conversation about the wines and other local things! The serving host told us about a great new state park campground nearby - Cottonwood Canyon - that we hadn't visited before. The wines were good and we couldn't resist buying a couple. The setting is neat as well because of the historic building. Overall a great stop and we will definitely visit again!

River Drifters offers an unforgettable rafting adventure on the stunning rivers of Oregon, particularly the Deschutes River. This company is dedicated to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all adventurers, with skilled guides leading the way. Guests rave about their guides, like Annika and Pippa, who not only ensure safety but also infuse fun into every trip with humor and fascinating insights about the river's history and wildlife.
My family of five (kiddos aged 18, 16, & 13) went on a river rafting trip on the Deschutes River with River Drifters in celebration of me reaching 2 years No Evidence of Disease (from breast cancer). I have a "Do Epic Shit" bucket list, and I'm happy River Drifters was able to help me scratch an item off the list! Our trip was definitely EPIC!! Our guide was Pippa, and she was SPECTACULAR!! Pippa was very professional, giving clear directions when needed, and always keeping our safety in mind. She was very kind and an amazing human to talk to. She really did make our entire time on the river so fun. I also love that River Drifters has photographers to take photos, they captured so many great ones of us. My favorite being at the very end in my "Do Epic Shit" t-shirt. THANK YOU for an amazing time!! And THANK YOU, Pippa, for helping me celebrate reaching 2 Years NED!! 10/10 Will definitely be back!
Rebecca H — Google review
This was my first ever rafting trip, though I went with some friends and their kids who have gone a handful of times. Our guide, Pippa, made it the most amazing first experience! She was professional and safe but also funny and personable. Her ‘dad jokes’ were very entertaining and she had so much cool information and history to share with us about the river and surrounding area! I’m glad that she was the one to introduce me to white water rafting, and now I’m hooked! Can’t wait to go back! :)
Abby B — Google review
We went with River Drifters last month and had such an amazing time with Cole as our guide that we HAD to return when my father in law visited from Germany. He had a blast too! The guides are fun and provide every group a unique and memorable experience. We had a rather large group, so email communication was needed to arrange accordingly. The group is very responsive and super helpful. 10/10 will go again!
Julia K — Google review
We've drafted on the Deschutes River before but with other outfitters. This time we used Riverdrifters. From start to finish, the Reservation process, their pricing, their thorough communications until our day to raft were very reasonable, professional, and informative. Yesterday was our day on the River and, once again, Riverdrifters was awesome! Our guide, Chris, was very safety-oriented, knowledgeable, fun, and navigated all of the rapids with excellent execution. The lunch provided was excellent ( the cookies were the bomb!) Highly recommended for your next trip!
Alan R — Google review
This was such a fun experience for a wide age range. The guides are friendly and patient. They also build time in for people to take swims if they like. There were plenty of jaunty class 3s that I couldn’t capture pics of. It’s exciting and relaxing, all in one half day trip. Definitely worth it. Just beware food choices will be slim out here. But the Imperial Hotel has a beautiful back patio with decent food.
Vanessa D — Google review
Amazing trip! Jose was the best guide—fun, clear, and kept us safe while still bringing the excitement. Favorite part hands down was the Big Thrill Swimmers Rapid—absolutely unforgettable! Highly recommend rafting with Jose.
Michelle H — Google review
I went on 2 full day trips in July, and just got back from a 3 day camping raft trip. The day trips were great despite having done this run many times each of the day trips were a different experience, the guides are fantastic and make the trips so much fun. Once I had Johnny and I can’t say enough about how good he was, so smart and funny and sweet! The next time it was Walker who was the guide, he was also great, I swear I can’t recall laughing like I did that day! But the camping trip was the absolute best! RiverDrifters communicate well and all is well organized. The guide Haven is just fabulous, knowledgeable, considerate and you always feel safe. He is just a wonderful person all around, we also had Wilson, and it is truley amazing the things he gets done, he takes all the gear down the river ahead of us and finds the most perfect camp sites and has things set up! He is the man behind the scene that without him… it just wouldn’t work!! If you are looking for a great river experience go with RiverDrifters!!
Shiela M — Google review
We had such an amazing time. Our guide Chris was a lot of fun but also very accommodating for my husband who has some hip issues. Very knowledgeable about the history and wildlife and was very safe. We will definitely be back!!!

All Star Rafting offers an all-day trip with knowledgeable and pleasant guides. The rafts and equipment are in great shape, providing a safe and enjoyable experience for guests. The smaller group size allows for a more personalized adventure, while the lunch provided is described as amazing. Guests highly recommend All Star Rafting for a fun and memorable white water rafting experience.
Great time to be had rafting with these folks. The guides are all very experienced and know the river very well. They are committed to making sure you have a good time and are accommodating of the participants' desired activity/risk level. This makes it a good choice for people with younger rafters or rafters who have limited swimming ability. The more adventurous rafters can still have a great time too, though. The lunch on the day trip is quite good as well.
Brad D — Google review
First time white water rafting, Haven, our guide was knowledgeable and pleasant. He took us through some spectacular areas, and the All Star photographer got some excellent shots. Definitely a good time! Highly recommend
Johnnybravo65 — Google review
Recently did an all-day drip with All Star. We were lucky enough to get Gretchen as our guide and she is AMAZING. My wife and I were the only two not in a bigger group, so it was just the two of us and Gretchen in a smaller raft and we had a blast. We had the best time here, and we will definitely be coming back next summer with all our kiddos! The rafts and equipement were all in great shape. The lunch was amazing. Overall, we just had a great time! Thanks so much All Star, and thanks Gretchen for being an awesome guide!!!
Alden D — Google review
Rented a great raft, great service, awesome ride to the river, knowledgeable tutorials befor my first captaining experience, and timely pickup at the end of the trip, all for a fair price! Highly recommend!
Dan H — Google review
What a great experience! Everything went really smooth. Our guide Elias was super cool. Lunch was very well done, and they even had refreshments when we pulled up on shore before heading back on the road. The geological facts were super cool too. Most importantly our whole family was treated warmly and respectfully. We had a tremendous amount of fun swimming, jumping off rocks, riding the rapids, riding the bull and sliding down the slippery rocks on the white river as a fun little stop during our day trip down the deschutes. I don’t normally leave reviews but this place was really awesome and I highly recommend them. We will for sure be coming back for their overnight trip! What a great way to spend the day with friends or in our case, our 6 person family, the two youngest being 10yrs old. Super fun!!
Merissa M — Google review
Had a great time on a 3 day rafting trip. The guides (Peter and Mike) were awesome. Our kids had a blast. The guides were safety first oriented. The food was great. Like any trip I would have a couple small recommendations for them. But overall very fun trip that my kids will remember.
Jerae G — Google review
My family has used all star rafting for many years. Excellent customer service. Everybody was very friendly and seem to be a family orientated business. Booking was really easy they showed up when they said they would and met us at Sandy Beach right on time. All the equipment was obviously well used but everything worked properly. However, I talked to someone after a rafting trip and they apologized about the well used equipment and said they would be getting new rafts for next season. I’m guessing they are a family business and Covid had an impact on them just like everybody else. Which is completely understandable. I would absolutely give all star rafting five stars and would highly recommend. I’m looking forward to coming back for another trip next year. Thanks again for the amazing memories
Herbert ( — Google review
I probably have more experience with these guy than about anyone. I was with a school group for about 7 summers. We always used All Star. The guides were always great and everything went smoothly. Then, I recently used them personally with some college friends. They rented us the raft, ferried us up the river, and picked us up at the bottom. Perfectly smooth, as usual. Silas in the office has been super accommodating both this trip, and another personal trip I tried to set up two years ago, but which I had to back out of. No problem, no worries, he just refunded my deposit.

High Desert River Outfitters is a well-established company with exceptional customer service and experienced guides. They offer a variety of trip options, catering to both tame and daring experiences. The company ensures COVID compliance and provides outstanding photography services to capture the adventure. Multiple testimonials confirm the expertise of their guides, making it a highly recommended choice for river outings.
I had never been rafting and was nervous. Especially because we were bringing our 7 year old son. Everything was great. Our guide, Paris, was fabulous with us an our son. She listened to our requests to go easy and it was very easy to follow her commands on the raft. We loved it and will be back. There was another boat in our group that flipped, but they went down a level 4 rapids. If you want to take it chill, talk to your guides before getting on the water. It was a day trip we will remember fondly always.
Julie C — Google review
Been using this crew for a decade, although the owner of the original High Desert River Outfitters Co. Has passed and since has been bought out by Raft California I will try to support the new crew with continued dedication.
Josh A — Google review
This is a company that has been in the business a long time and definitely knows what they are doing. Outstanding customer service, COVID compliant and some of the best guides available. The guide for our day trip was Zach Williams and not once did I question the safety of the hands we were in. Several other guides and rafters we encountered along the trip confirmed it by telling us "He's the best guide out here". Multiple trip options to choose from and the experience will be as tame or daring as you and your group chooses. It was so much fun and the pictures the company photographer took really captured it. My group and I are looking forward to the next one. I could not recommend this business more!
Rachel M — Google review
Did a half day trip, with Jim as our guide, and it was probably the best rafting trip I have been on (even though I got tossed out of the boat). Just a fun trip, and we will be coming back for a full day for sure.
Lonnie M — Google review
We participated in the 3 day 2 night rafting/camping trip on the Lower Deschutes River. It was an amazing experience. Truly, the memories will last a lifetime!
Amanda G — Google review
My family (wife and two teenagers) were excited as well as apprehensive about white water rafting, that is until they met our guide, Kirk. Kirk, his positive energy and high level of skill truly made our trip one to remember. Our son is autistic and while he enjoys adventure, we thought this might be pushing the envelope. Nope. Kirk caught on fast and made sure to help our son feel capable, included and best of all, Kirk made sure Connor had a great time. We can't wait to head back next summer! Hopefully we get Kirk again.
Alan B — Google review
I've never been whitewater rafting before, but this trip will definitely make me a regular! I plan to go back every summer now! Our guides were amazing and the Groupon price was a steal.
Amanda S — Google review
Went this past Friday and was treated to an entire days worth of rafting and a great lunch. The entire staff was friendly and fun. Be prepared to jump off rocks, swim down the “swimmers rapids”, and raft into a refreshingly crisp Deschutes River! Our guide Amanda was incredible. She made the trip one to remember. Would definitely recommend.

In addition to these thrilling experiences, the resort also provides cozy and comfortable lodging for guests. The rooms are decorated with murals and have different themes, including birdwatching. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making it an excellent place to stay for both business and leisure travelers. Guests can enjoy delicious food at reasonable prices during their stay.
Clean rooms with good air conditioning! Some of our party had loud neighbors who were part of a bachelor party, but I guess that’s to be expected. The biggest surprise was the restaurant. Everyone in our party of 10 had great things to say about the good. Very large portions, so sharing might be smart! Kind servers. Beautiful setting for the middle of nowhere! And we played volleyball. This is a great place for a family adventure!
Leanne T — Google review
Great place but don't rent #3. It's an older room that was cute and bed was good. But: AC didn't work. Bathroom sink was in an alcove and hit my elbows trying to do anything. Closed up so kinda like an afterthought, but a couple of feet out the door you get the lawn and lake. Bathroom fan and headlamp don't work. Facility is great with fantastic location, right ON the river.
Allen R — Google review
We had a wonderful time with the Imperial River Company. Though we didn't stay at the hotel, we had the pleasure of dining at the restaurant. Everything was well-prepared and everyone enjoyed their meals. The following day, we had an amazing all-day rafting trip with Charlie as the guide for our raft. He was the greatest raft guide I've ever had the privilege of having (though I may be biased since I'm his mother). But, it truly was a great day. And the other guides on our trip (Sam and Fiona) were energetic, friendly and made the day fun. Everyone we encountered with the Imperial River Company was warm and friendly and welcoming. I can't recommend them enough.
Emily S — Google review
Absolutely WOW!! We had the best stay with Imperial this past weekend. From check in to check out everyone we met was so incredibly kind and genuine. Our room was sparkling clean and the continental breakfast was great. HUGE shoutout to our Raft Guide, Brian. He was fun, safe, and truly knew what he was doing to get us all giggling and soaking wet. Jamey at the front desk was so kind, it felt like I was talking to an old friend. Jamey at the bar made the atmosphere safe, fun, and some awesome drinks! I truly cannot rave about Imperial enough. We cannot wait to come back next summer and every summer after that. Thank you for one of the best weekends of the year! ❤️

We didn't have the pleasure of staying at the hotel as they were booked before we made our plans. We had a great time rafting with Fiona. We really enjoyed the full day itinerary with the start at the hotel, a lunch break back at the hotel and then wrapping up the final leg also at the hotel. Their set-up is great and we really appreciated being able to shower before we drove ~2 hours home. They went above and beyond and even shared amazong pictures with us rafting on the river. Would definitely recommend!

Wife and I were roaming around for our 20th anniversary and we came across Imperial River Company. We checked in and had a panoramic view off our deck at the beautiful river! The room was great! Clean, friendly and nothing like a regular hotel room. It was charming! Staff was friendly and hospitable. We really enjoyed our stay!

I went for a day trip for white water rafting with PSU. It was an absolute amazing experience! All the surrounding nature was beautiful and the location was well set up. All the employees were nice and helpful. The rafting guides deserve a lot of credit and help make it such a great experience. My groups guide was Charlie and he GREAT! He was knowledgeable, professional, funny, and extremely friendly. The other two guides with us on the trip(I cant remember their names) were also funny and helpful. You can tell the workers enjoy their jobs and are treated well by the company. Also the lunch provided in the day trip was delicious! Overall, it was a great experience and I would love to do it again.

The room was very comfortable, the staff had a good customer service attitude and the restaurant food was very good. The views of the river from the lawn and deck were memorable. This is the top place to stay in Maupin.

My family had a wonderful time enjoying the breathtaking scenery! I can only imagine how much better it is in the summertime. The atmosphere is lovely, but we found the service a little lacking. I also wish there were more heaters on the patio so everyone could fully enjoy the view. Overall, we can’t wait to return and highly recommend making the stop in!
Cassie M — Google review
For myself, and my friend we were not big fans of the wine tasting. Only because the wine was more on the sweeter side. The patio is however very lovely and was nice even on a warm windy day. I actually was glad to be able to try wine and not have to hear someone tell me about what mountainside they got it on. I was able to converse with my friend while sipping wine and looking at that gorgeous view. The only other drawback for me was the decimal of the rap music they were playing. I'm giving this place 2 stars mainly for location.

I don't know which I like better - the wine or the view! Thankfully when you visit you don't have to choose, you get both. The wines are really good. The tasting bar is beautiful and has plenty of space for many tasters at once. The servers are always friendly and attentive even though they are juggling many customers - the place always seems pretty busy! I always enjoy the tasting, but what really makes the visit superb is buying a glass to enjoy on the patio. The views are incredible! This trip was unique for us as there was a layer of snow amid the vines and snow on the hillsides around the Columbia - just amazing. I had a limit of one bottle per winery stop during this trip as we were travelling in our Truck Camper and we have to be aware of the vehicle weight.... and then oops.... we bought 2 cases, where is that going to go? We will visit again soon!

The first face we saw was very friendly. She greeted us with a warm friendly welcome. Unfortunately, she was off shift, leaving and it went down hill from there. We had to go seek service inside as we wanted to be seated outside. Finally got acknowledged. We ordered a taste of wine flights. The wine was good but here's the thing, we go wine tasting a lot. We're wine members at some nice wineries and Maryhill in Goldendale is as good but certainly not better. I think 60.00 dollars for a bottle of a blend is a little much. Nice atmosphere, beautiful setting however, it looks like birds may own this winery instead of people. There were bird droppings everywhere outside, on the floor, on the steps, on the railings. I'd suggest sitting inside if you visit. Overall, good but not great. Possibly a tad overrated, overpriced.

Great winery. Great wine, food and view. Very friendly service. Worth the trip.
Dennis M — Google review
Amazing, dramatic setting! Good service and wine. We had the Caesar salad, which was actually pretty good with a house made extra garlicky dressing. The “forest mushroom” pizza was a disappointment, however, as there were virtually no mushrooms on it. Basically more of a flat bread with a lot of roasted garlic.
Beau H — Google review
Have been a regular visitor here for many years. Today's visit very disappointing. After 15 minutes of waiting, we finally ordered our own wine inside. Another 15 minutes and we had to track down a server for our food order. The server first took the order from an adjacent table who arrived well after we did. Yes, they were busy, but there are about 20 tables and 3 servers. No excuse for a 30 minute wait for service. It will be a long while before we head that way again.

One of the best pizzas we have had. The spinach dip was delicious! Beautiful views and very friendly staff! Wine was amazing as well - as expected!!! Thank you for a wonderful and memorable experience!!

Remote mansion with a diverse collection, including Rodin sculptures & Native American artifacts.
What a beautiful place to visit! The art and all of the history there is so interesting. Very clean, and quiet. Over all just a great experience.

Beautifully set up. Art, painting, dolls, so much. My interest is indigenous of the USA, my own heritage. So much to see and the museum had so much respect. I was quite proud. .ost impressed by the bead work, holy cow, wish I had the patience and spiritual stamina. The chess collection is awesome
Donna A — Google review
This is a destination museum in a breathtaking setting. The collection seems to be personal and varied, but that gives it a unique personality. The setting gives you room both physically and intellectually to give you a chance to examine and enjoy each collection in a way quite different than if it was in a metropolitan museum. Taking time outside between galleries allows you to go freshly into a new experience.

This is a great museum and has many different things to see. The different exhibits are interesting and eclectic. Definitely worth the visit.

2 Rodin rooms. 2 rooms of Post-war Parisian fashion designer miniatures. 1 large indigenous artifact room. Location is stunning.

I wasn’t expecting how large the art museum was. There is a lot of art to look at, not just the chess sets. There is also a cafe but we didn’t try it when we were there. The staff were also super friendly. It’s worth the trip.

Well worth the money. Tickets can be bought on line and are good for several months. Find out who was Sam Hill

Goldendale Observatory State Park is a magical place in Klickitat, housing an enormous telescope built by amateur astronomers from Vancouver, Washington. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and offers engaging sessions on various space-related topics. Visitors can enjoy live views of the sun and detailed Q&A sessions. The ranger-led tours provide opportunities to see Saturn, Jupiter, nebulas, constellations, galaxies, and even passing space stations.
This hidden gem is a labor of love for the people that keep it running in today's political climate, and the night program led by a Yale professor turned park ranger is a world-class astronomy lecture. This is the first experience in a long time to fill me with awe in the full sense of the work. This is without a doubt worth driving a few hours and getting a motel to see.
David G — Google review
This was a stellar experience, from the check into the night program. The park administrator Troy and his team of intrepid space explores are absolutely awesome. Great show, great stars and great program. As the website and literature all recommend, be sure to bring some warm clothes, it gets cool quickly after the sun sets!
Michael M — Google review
REALLY cool solar and nighttime programs! It was colder than I was expecting during the night show, but I saw more stars than I have ever seen, and learned some cool facts! The staff is tiny, but they're all fantastic and the facility is clean, modern, and pleasant. Definitely worth a visit (and a donation!!) 😉
Lily L — Google review
I’ve been to both the solar and the night programs and they are both amazing! We saw sun spots, the international space station, and many different constellations! Make sure you reserve your spot in advance on their website and leave a good donation!!
Treva W — Google review
We had very good time at the observatory. Staff is very energetic and knowledgeable. They are genuinely putting a lot of efforts for us to have great experience. Really appreciate their efforts and extra late night hours.
Sameer K — Google review
A National treasure in my opinion. The staff are fantastic, extremely knowledgeable and interactive with the group. I did both the day and night events and they were both amazing -and not redundant.
Ryan Y — Google review
This is a fee/pass area. To attend the day or evening programs, you need reservations. This is a way kool place. I’ve attended the day program in the past. I’m here today (7/25) to attend the evening program. This is one of the few places where people can look thru a telescope with an eyepiece. There was a slight crescent moon. The facility director Troy Carpenter, and the two park aides, Vivian and Rowan did an awesome job. They had two telescopes for us to view from. I found the evening program to be educational, informative, entertaining and lots of fun. We spent time on the telescopes and then we had a classroom session with Q & A. Troy used a laser pointer to call-out the brightest stars in the sky, the Milky Way, a couple of constellations and the International Space Station (ISS) that passed over from the west to east and then disappeared! I viewed from the telescope: 2 double stars, the middle of the Milky Way and much more. To think you are looking back in time (up to 100 million light years away). I could also see space junk and meteors. If you are in the area this is worth the visit. See you on the trail.

Great breadth and detail on the local history and especially wheat growing, harvesting and technology used in the past 100+ years. Excellent printing press and armed forces display too. Admission is $5 adults, $1 kids but we’ll worth it. They also have various tourism brochures for Oregon.

This is one of the best small museums I have visited. A lot of great displays, many are hands on. Photos, videos and static displays are outstanding. From the earliest known history to today, you can learn how it all happened. I thoroughly enjoyed speaking with the wonderful docents who are eager to share their knowledge. Highly recommended.

We drive from Nor Cal to Washington fairly frequently to visit family. We have driven this route before but this is the first time we've stopped at the Museum. We'll definitely do it again! It's a great set-up; park outside for kids and animals, bathrooms, water... there is even a bicycle repair stand with tools if you are on tour. The staff is very friendly; we greatly appreciated their candor. There are also things for the kids to do and touch inside 5he museum. We really appreciated an experience for the whole family. Delightful pit stop.

If you want to see some incredible pieces of history in a clean, neat and well maintained museum at an exceedingly affordable price, then this is the place to stop. Two of the most lovely ladies were there today to help us with Oregon travel information and they could not have been kinder. The ladies room is the cleanest and cutest I have been in on the West Coast PLUS a lovely sample of hand lotion to try and enjoy.

Brooks Memorial State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
Campground
Brooks Memorial State Park is a 700-acre natural area that offers bird watching, camping, and various recreational activities. It features trails, a ball field, and an amphitheater for visitors to enjoy. This small and rustic park provides clean restroom facilities. However, some RV sites are uneven while the tent sites are limited to small areas on a hill. The park boasts several hiking trails, including one that leads to a moderately-sized fir tree.
Beautiful park! Beautiful location! Pretty drive there! I didn’t see anything wrong with the state park! Except for one thing, my wife & I used there showers happy to see that they were free! The problem with the showers is they didn’t get hot enough, they weren’t cold but they felt lukewarm to me to be honest! But that’s not a serious issue, I’m sure it’s a fixable thing. I would totally camp here again!
Chris R — Google review
Very nice park, has disc golf and lots of hiking trails, but it’s close to the highway so lots of road noise till late in the evening, bathrooms very clean, nice picnic area.

This is a quite and peaceful park. It also has friendly helpful staff. It also has great hiking trails. It is also close to the Goldendale observatory. We come here almost every year to watch the Perseid meteor showers.

Beautiful place, nice trails . We were a little put off by the buzzing electric lines. After a day, we didn't really notice them anymore. Tip: If you need cell service, take the Big Fir tree trail up to the top, and you will have service .

Stopped here on my way thru. Was pleasantly surprised how beautiful it was, as the hills leading up to it were pretty dry & barren. Very nice camp host, clean restroom and Campsite. Very nice shady day use area.
Christie W — Google review
Great park! Clean and the volunteers were super-friendly. The weekend was packed but Monday was so peaceful and quiet. Only cons are the main road can get pretty noisy at night and it would be great to have an extra shower or so, had to wait a few times, but its camping! :)
Josiah W — Google review
This was our first time at Brooks Memorial State Park. The park itself is quite nice with some areas that, like most places, need some attention. The campground sites were relatively nice and not too close to each other. Many sites were not particularly level, which requires a bit of leveling if you're in an RV. There is some road noise as well from highway 97, even through the night, although it's not impossible to get a good night's sleep despite the noise. Location close to St. John's Bakery makes Brooks a perfect location, as does the short 15 or so mile drive to the Goldendale Observatory. Not too much further is Maryhill Museum, the Columbia River, and a winery or two. All in all, it is a nice park that is in a perfect location for day trips and events at the Observatory with a meal break at the Bakery.
Dave R — Google review
Visited here on 4/15/19, hiked 5.4 miles on the Brooks nature trail. It was on my way home from ancient lakes. I was checking out the camp and stopped to ask the camp host if there was any hiking trails in the area. The camp host was very friendly and gave great directions and a map. The hiking trails are across the street from the campground. They are mostly all old roads, so nice and wide. All the trails on the top are muddy, slippery and waterlogged right now. Hiked 5.4 miles. Very beautiful area.

It's a great place to stop, and let the dogs out. They have a great dog area near the train tracks, with poop bags and trash can available. We like to walk out on the dock where there's a giant Fountain like sprinkler. My son likes to run through it when we

Not a bad little place to take a break and stretch one's legs when travelling on I-84. Easily accessible from the freeway as it is just across from the Arlington exit ramp. Has a well-maintained lawn area that is off-limits for dogs, a restroom and a few waterfront benches, picnic tables, a playground. The restroom is about the same quality/cleanliness as those found in rest areas on the highway. Not sure I'd hang out here for longer than necessary, but it serves its job.
T T — Google review
Nice little spot to get off the freeway to stretch your legs & have a bathroom break for the humans & dogs. There is a Little Free Library near the restroom & I remembered to bring books this time! The grass near the restrooms is strictly NO DOGS ALLOWED, however there is a dog park just around the corner, on the east side of the water. There are gas stations, markets & hot food nearby.
Jee-nah E — Google review
This park is not only amazingly well kept, it is absolutely beautiful. So glad it is right off of I84 to utilize as a great rest stop. The bathrooms were very well maintained and clean. It also has a decent size play ground for the kiddos! If you're driving and need somewhere to streatch this is a great place to do that.

A great park to stop at a long I84. They have plenty of picnic tables, clean bathrooms and a fun walk along the Columbia. Also, a good playground for the kids. We love this spot!

Beautiful park! We stopped by during a road trip and loved the water and well-maintained grass and pathways. They have restrooms there as well.

Although there isn't any dogs allowed in the main park there is a seperate park made just for dogs and others. Honestly it's a bigger space then the main park. I think this is great little park with the rite amount of amenities.

Went to Wine o Clock for a late lunch and we received one. After waiting for tables we ordered and one hour and 15 minutes later our food came to the table. My $16 burger sat on the counter ten feet from my table for at least ten minutes. And not under a warming lamp either. My wife had a chicken salad about the size of an average dinner salad. It didn't look amazing which it should for $22. In fairness they did not charge me for the burger. One pizza ordered by our party sat at the door of wood fire oven for thirty minutes while the rest of our meal cooked. I'll bet you can guess how great the pizza was. We new this is an expensive place but hoped that would be balanced by great food and service.

4 decent wineries right next to each other. Nice venue. Building is Tuscan and has nice patio seating out front. Very relaxing and not directly on the freeway so no noise.
Mr. G — Google review
It's not as much fun as going to the actual wineries, however it is most definitely the best way to sample the largest selection of our region's wines in a day. And to really make the day great - and reach the best wineries, and taste all the wines you desire, rent a limo from A Plus Pacific Limousine on Kennewick, WA. He even has a party bus!!!

Could have alot better public facilities ... Hand washing is left up to a sanitizer next to door . Urinals weren't flushing during my visit. Food offered in building is high priced for the impulse snack buy (not a fan). Prefer to be here when food trucks & carts are out in the park for events . Over all a great space to play and enjoy the river views . **Plus you can run up and touch the water !!
Tucker S — Google review
Only went to one of the wineries in this particular building. The wine was ok. They had so many varietals, that we think it is difficult to do just one very well. All though, they wouldn't open the wine that we went there specifically to taste, so we can't judge all of there wines. The issue with this winery, as well as a few others we've been to is that they were tasting out of a bottle that had been opened 3 days prior to our visit. We don't buy wine unless we can taste from a bottle opened at least the same day; and yes, there is a difference. We proved that at one winery to the person serving; talked them into opening a fresh bottle and comparing to one opened the prior day. BIG difference, even they admitted that.

We loved every minute of our time at Alexandria Nicole Cellars. The flight was perfect and we were tended to by a wonderful host. Wow, where do I start. Ms Kelli(mgr) is the best at what she does at the park. We stayed a few months and the camp host(John& Christine) were wonderful. The park is clean and the area is beautiful. They have a rooster who has made himself at home which I believe gives it that country effect. We loved the RV Park/Marina. We’d recommend this place highly.

Very well maintained campground. Check in was quick and easy. They have 50 amp power ports. Many sites have some fencing that helps with wind blockage and privacy. Train noise can be heard but not as bad as some other places we’ve stayed. The day use park is nice, however the swimming area is taken over by geese and the west parking area seems to possibly have illegal activity going on in the evening. People sitting in vehicles while other people move from vehicle to vehicle. Being former law enforcement I have seen that kind of thing before. The camping area was very quiet and peaceful until Friday when the loud drinkers started showing up. Don’t expect the 8pm quiet time to be enforced. Use google maps or some other resource to find a site with shade if staying in the hot months. Overall a nice stay.

Terrific location on the Columbia River. Easy to get into. Only $55 for the night. Large sites with lots of room between. Nice walking path along the river to stretch your legs after a long day of driving.

This is arguably the very best RV Park around for 50 miles. Beautifully maintained grounds, large lawn and Columbia River Views in almost every site. Simple monthly charge of $110 a month for utilities and WiFi if staying long term during Winter Months. Current monthly charge for extended stays, $680 a month. I can't say enough good things about this facility, a Gem!
Christian E — Google review
This is a great location, especially if you love seafood and boat trips! There is no end to the number of nearby restaurants and daily charter boats. The sites are a tad narrow and the parking is out of control during crabbing season, which can make it a challenge to get in and out of the park but after you're parked, it's a great place to spend a few days or weeks (or months even! =)!
William V — Google review
Great RV campground right on the Columbia River. Sites are spacious with lots of green space. Showers/restrooms were basic and showers could use a bit of an upgrade. Laundry room was nice. Only 2 complaints: (1) the sprinkler system that ran 4 of the 7 nights we were here was pointed directly at our TT and soaked the entire side of it and our truck. That wouldnt be an issue except that one of our windows was open so it got the inside of our trailer wet. It also soaked everything we had outside including our shoes. (2) Staff that mowed twice while we're here made no attempt to aim clippings away from our site so we came home to grass all over our belongings. Fortunately we carry a leaf blower so we could blow everything off. Otherwise this is a great camp site with a beautiful view, especially sunset views

Lovely place On the river. Good views and quiet. Very nice staff. Good walks along the river to a pub.

There is a nice walking trail along the river. This RV park seems like it is in a park. There are a lot of trees and more space between RV's than I have ever seen in an RV park. It would be nice if they watered at night so you can get into or out of your unit without getting in the mud or getting hit with sprinklers if you are trying to get around. There is a playground for children.

This is where my Tesla always has us stop on our trips to Boise, Idaho. Once I actually went inside, I saw how cool the museum actually is. It has a lot of interactive activities and awesome information you wouldn’t learn from many places. Great place for kids. It has an outdoor playground and a little area for dogs to run around, play and go potty. Would definitely recommend stopping, especially with children on long trip breaks.

Best place to charge EV with kids! We stopped here twice to charge our Rivian and it’s the best. Chargers are fast, and some of the Tesla chargers have adapters so we could charge easily. The best part is the playground!!!! So much more pleasant to charge here with the kids. There’s also picnic tables, so a great place to hang out while you charge. One negative is that there aren’t bathrooms (there was a disgusting port-a-potty).

So much great education about our farming in USA. The Ballon ride was down when we were there. If in the area fir a few days or need a break from driving, we highly recommend. Plenty of room for large motor homes & tow veichles

Beautiful winery and well organized. Very friendly workers. Picked up a load of empty barrels. Guys who loaded my truck are rocks. They put 154 barrels in my container in less than one hour.

Visited 6/27. Had to knock to be let in a few minutes after 11. Two young women were ringing up people in safety vests(employees?) one after the other. After about 5 minutes of waiting at tasting bar, one of them asked if we were there for a tasting and we answered, yes. She stated she would be right with us and continued ringing up these vested people. After another 5 minutes of being ignored, we left. We had been regular drinkers of your wine, and had looked forward to this tasting. However, due to your employees' rude behavior, you have lost us as customers.

Nice winery with a lot of character, despite being like a corporation (watch the trucks with grapes come and go). Make sure to go down the stairs and see the cellar with all the cases. The tasting room is very comfortable, enough space to taste and browse the wines. Prices of the wines are very reasonable.

This place is unbelievable great place to visit and take a tour you will not be dispointed at all.

Beautiful grounds and a very nice tasting room with friendly employees. Visited during the Spring Barrel weekend and were fortunate enough to be able to go down into the cellar to taste wine from the barrels. Nice selection of items for sales including some cheese and other snacks.

We had the best time at Columbia Crest Winery today in the tasting room with Vicky,. She made our day by being so welcoming, joking around with us and being so informative! She even got us some cheese and crackers to go with the tasting! We shared how much we were looking forward to our visit, but had been worried of our delay during the drive to the winery from the Columbia Gorge waterfalls, as it was much farther than we were thinking and it took so long to get there that we didn’t arrive until 4:30, just having discovered that they closed at 5 pm while we were on the way! Upon arrival we thought we would be rushed through the tasting experience at this, our favorite overall winery, after coming from Philadelphia to visit while in Washington. But nothing could have been further from that as she showed us numerous wines and even gave us an individual tour of the vine cellar and a tasting from a barrel during fermentation! She shared her Columbia Crest story with us and even took a picture with us! In the end we were there for over an hour and we would have never known that she and a few of her colleagues were staying to make our experience so special! What a wonderful representation of Columbia Crest she was! Congratulation to Columbia Crest for having a great staff member to represent your business!! Highly recommend others touring this beautiful winery!

I'm going to be honest, I was a bit leery because it was such a big corporation winery. But it was actually a great experience. First of all $5 for 4, 5 tastes? Awesome. Second, the chateau they had was incredibly classy but approachable. Third, the attendant at the bar was incredibly nice, easy to talk to, and poured us drinks we were curious about, even if they were off the list. Good times and nice vineyard to walk around.

Planned a private wine tasting with my girls to catch up and drink wine. They even helped out with creating a charcuterie board to sample with the wines. Overall, a great experience and a beautiful place. Shame it was raining, would have loved to walk around but the scenery was breathtaking. Will be visiting again during my next visit.

Terra Blanca Winery & Estate Vineyard, located in Red Mountain, offers a delightful experience for couples looking to indulge in wine tasting. The winery is set in a beautiful location with stunning views, making it feel like an oasis. While the tour may not always be available, the wine tasting provides a generous and varied selection of flavors. The $30 per head fee can be waived with the purchase of two bottles of wine.
Beautifully landscaped location with a spectacular view. The tasting room is elegant and spacious with both indoor and outdoor seating. The tasting selection was extensive and the wines superb! We purchased 3 cases! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. We enjoyed our experience there. The party nearby left a pair of sunglasses on their table and the staff kindly ran out to return it to them. I highly recommend visiting here!

Stopped here to do a wine tasting and wound up staying for lunch and then coming back for their monthly three course dinner later in the evening. The wine was some of the best we tasted in the Red Mountain area, and the food was just as spectacular. Katie who did our tasting was very knowledgeable and told us so much about both the wine and the region as well as how things are grown. She provided excellent wine recommendations and also let us compare and contrast some of the different wines which really made for a great tasting experience. If I lived in the area I would definitely come back often for both the food and the wine, but we had to settle with ordering some to be shipped home.

We had the Ceasar salad and chicken. The dressing was not terrible but was put on a little heavy and needed just a little more zest to it to be very good. We also had the Giacomo pizza, which was very good. It had very good ingredients and was cooked nicely. Lizzy had the Albarino and seemed to enjoy it a lot. Overall prices are not terrible for a vineyard but are on the pricier side but not a terrible value. We We definitely come back on occasion.

We booked a tasting followed by a reservation for their Thursday night happy hour. The facility is very very nice, with Italianate decorations and patio. The wines were some of the best in the area, as well as plenty of different types to try. The food was SO so good too! I felt like we had really lucked out on booking at this winery, and I don't feel like we could have gotten better food anywhere else in the area. The Divola pizza was divine! Our server was very kind and personable, which is always appreciated. She answered all of our questions and never made us feel neglected or rushed. The owner of the winery was present behind the bar that night and opened up wines not on the menu so that we could have extra tastings, which made us feel very special. I will definitely come back again, and specifically book the Happy Hour too! I am very appreciative to have found this winery!

Tami and Katy were the best! They were so kind and personable. Additionally, the charcuterie board was the best we have ever had and bonus because they also had local draft beer which my fiancée enjoyed. They had a great selection of white estate wines to choose from. The arch terrace Chardonnay did not disappoint.

Loved this gorgeous winery! The view is absolutely breath taking. Reservations are recommended especially on weekends as this place gets very busy. They have an onsite kitchen and is a very popular spot for wine and lunches. They are dog friendly on the patio only. You get to taste about 8 wines for $30 Or fee is waived with a purchase of any two bottles. Tasting did not disappoint from their whites to red. They have a variety for all taste buds. I loved all their Cabs. They have a mix of 100% Cab to some with Merlot and Cab Franc. All were delish and as I was tasting I kept thinking of food items these would pair well with. Of course we purchased half a case variety of red wines. Venue is super clean, great vibe and super friendly staff. Darcy and Alex were both amazing. We will definitely be going back here when in the area.

Alex H.was our waitress, and Chef Dan was our cook. When we arrived, we were seated appropriately. The wine tasting was interesting. Then, YES! My order was running late (food ).Ok stop! Here comes the Five stars. I expressed it was best to get the bill, and move on... NOPE! They took it to the next level and as light as they are with staff, they came through in a clutch.
Marc L — Google review
We didnt get to do the tour due to unavailability and had to contend with the wine testing. First thing first - beautiful location. Felt like an Oasis when we went in. Beautiful views. Coming to wine testing - nice flavors (I am not a big wine lover, but liked the different tastes/wines they had). They charged $30/head. That would have been waived off, had you gotten two bottles of wines from them. Since I am not a big wine drinker, i opted for the tasting. They have cheese and crackers, which we need to buy and they would serve it for you. Our hostess was patient and clear while explaining each one before pouring. We didnt get food here, but i saw food being served to a table. I would definitely recommend this place if you wanted to do some wine tasting.

This tasting room was a delight to visit. Savannah was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the wines and vineyards. We had a "small" charcuterie plate. It was quite big and easily fed 2 people. It was fresh, tasty, and had good variety. The tasting room was beautiful with a covered outside deck that overlooks the vineyards. The wine was amazing! Their reds definitely shine. I even like some varietals that I typically don't care for. I ended up joining their wine club :) Great service, wine, food, view, and atmosphere!

I cannot say enough good things about this winery! We booked a tasting along with a charcuterie board while we explored the local vinyards. We intended to only stay for an hour or so, but ended up loving the gorgeous balcony, delicious wine, and great service so much that we cancelled our next stop so we could spent a lovely afternoon with a bottle of their Lemberger and some more charcuterie. We also learned a lot about the local vinyards and history as well, which is always appreciated. I can't get over how beautiful the entire facility and balcony was. It is one of the prettiest wineries I have ever been to! We will definitely come back again!

Great experience! We really enjoyed learning about the three generations who have developed this winery into a showcase in the Red Mountain AVA. Wine cards with descriptions of each wine allowed us to set our own pace. We pre-ordered a large charcuterie for our group of eight.

09/14/24 We just had a wonderful experience today here at Red Mountain trails. We did the Vineyard Wagon Ride, and the host/driver was absolutely wonderful. She told us about the grapes-harvesting and the native species of plants as we traveled along the trail. My wife loved her B-day gift today. Perfect day for it with upper 70's and sunny. We highly recommend this place and will be back with family when they visit. Thank you RMT for a wonderful trip today. :-)

The "Horse Experience" was so wonderful. Riding is so much fun, but there is a ton of enjoyment to be had grooming the horses, learning how they communicate, and communicating with them in the ring! I highly recommend this experience. I took my nearly 97-year-young grandma and she enjoyed grooming her horse so much. What a good day. Teresa is so generous and it is obvious she cares deeply about her horses. I'm grateful she offers all of us a chance to join in.

Teresa is very kind and informative. She allowed a group of us to show up last minute to surprise a family member who loves horses. It was a very good experience. We all enjoyed ourselves. Her horses are so sweet and funny. Also, I highly recommend her homemade goat milk soap! It smells phenomenal and leaves your skin feeling so soft.

Spent 3 days wine tasting in the Red Mountain area with 2 other couples. We did the Sunset Wagon Ride and Dinner with Red Mountain Trails on our last night. What a great experience. It was about a 30 minute wagon ride each way to a simple table set up for the 6 of us table cloth and all. Beautiful view of the valley and was totally quiet except for the laughter of our group. Great food from the grill and much more than our group could eat. This was the highlight of our trip and was very different than the usual noisy restaurant. Will definitely do it again.

Such an inspiring experience! We were passing through and I’m so glad we stopped. I think we have all heard about salmon migrations, but the information presented here goes much more in depth than I previously knew. It also does a great job explaining how the corps engineered the dam systems with salmon migrations in the forefront of their mind. They took every precaution possible to ensure salmon migrations are able to continue uninterrupted. Visiting really makes you think, “what can I do to help?”

Great place. Very well kept parks available for picnics or parties. The visitor center had informative displays. There is a fish viewing room but it wasn’t migration season.

Interesting visitor center but this is the only dam along the Columbia River who has something against foreigners. You have to have a specific US ID to get in to the powerhouse. They won't accept US military IDs or any other government department ID. Only driver license and passport. I am surprised that are still at that point in 2018.

Howard Amon Park, situated on the Columbia River in Richland, Washington, offers a variety of recreational activities for visitors. The park features tree-lined walking paths, tennis courts, and a playground for children of all ages. Additionally, it provides access to the river for fishing, boating, kayaking, and swimming.
We absolutely love this park! Lots of stuff for all ages, with new, well-maintained playground, zip line, climbing walls, sandbox, accessible playplace, and wading pool. Great picnic tables, trash cans, and shady grassy areas for picnics or parties. Close to the river and walking trail. This is our favorite park!

The wife and I stopped here while enjoying the evening after dinner visiting Richland. Great park with lots of paved access for wheelchairs and mobility devices. Easy to get near the water. Even at night it was mostly well lit. Certainly an interesting dichotomy with the fancy river cruise boat docked at one end and the homeless resources van at the others. The restrooms were ROUGH and smelled like cheap weed but the overall park was clean and well maintained. We even banged around on the little precision garden next to the playground and it was nice. Lots of folks playing pickle ball and volleyball and the courts were well lit. Totally worth a stop and the history of this land is cool too with the connection to the Manhattan project. On a side note it was nice to see a publicly accessible AED in the parking lot with lots of lights directing you to it.

It's a king-sized park that runs along the river. On a hot day it's a fun place to swim. Huge shade trees, green grass, squirrels, and a paved walkway that runs throughout the park. Picnic tables, benches, and really fun looking kids Playgrounds - and there's a wading pool too.
Wildcraft R — Google review
Howard Amon Park is a very large and versatile park with so much to offer, especially for families with children. The playground area is expansive—kids could spend hours here exploring and playing, which is always a good sign (and might even mean an early bedtime afterward!). There’s even a small rock climbing wall where little ones can start learning to climb in a safe environment. At the moment, the water pool is under construction and won’t reopen until summer 2026, but there’s still plenty to enjoy. The park also has a nice little beach area along the Columbia River, perfect for fishing if that’s your thing, though I personally wouldn’t recommend swimming there. The grounds are beautiful, with wide grassy spaces, lots of trees (great for hanging up a hammock), and plenty of shaded spots to relax. There are also picnic areas available to rent for gatherings and special occasions. Overall, this is one of the most robust and well-rounded parks I’ve ever visited—perfect for families, events, or just enjoying the outdoors.

I truly enjoyed my time at the park. It was snowing, very cold, deserted, and so beautiful. The world was hushed with snow. The only sounds were the birds chattering on the river. I look forward to seeing the sunrise next time I visit. Do be aware that I spotted a rare venomous tundra squirrel. Don't turn your back to it and show no fear as it can sense such things.

The Gesa Carousel of Dreams is a historic 1910 carousel that has been a beloved attraction for over a century. Originally located at Silver Beach Amusement Park in Michigan, this masterpiece was crafted by renowned carver Charles Carmel and features intricately designed horses. After being dismantled, it found its way to Roswell, New Mexico before finally settling in Kennewick, Washington.
My kids and grandson hadn't been here before. They had a great time. Take a ride on their 44 horse carousel. $3 tokens can be purchased at a wall unit. The staff are friendly. Your kids and grandchildren are gonna love this place.
Carmen D — Google review
My son had to use the restroom and I seen they had restrooms inside. So I took him in to use it and as I was talking with my wife that I would like to take the boys for a ride on the carousel sometime. Suddenly this old lady that works there told us to use the restrooms outside that the ones are for paying customers. As someone that doesn’t know the area I thought it was rude of that lady to practically kicking us out of the place. If you don’t want people using your restrooms maybe you should put a sign up. Restrooms for paying customers only. It’s the proper way to tell people. Anyways, I changed my mind about taking my boys there with an unprofessional staff.
Alfredo J — Google review
My little guy was unable to ride the ride with my older son, it was incredibly busy and we drove over an hour to come just to turn around. I was so sad to find the information when we got there and not anywhere posted online. The staff was incredibly friendly and sweet. The rating is not a reflection of them but rather a reflection of the lack of information provided anywhere to make an appropriate judgement before driving so far. It was a beautiful ride and had very kind staff. Would have been enjoyable had I known everything in advance. We attempted to call ahead but they were unavailable to answer questions. We took our chances and were sad to find we couldn't ride. That's okay. Maybe another time.
Kristal K — Google review
The gentleman running the carousel were amazing. They were so friendly, kind and had a wonderful spirit about them. They went above and beyond making every family and child’s experience truly magical. I cannot say enough wonderful things about that team.

The staff are truly some of the kindest friendliest people we have ever met, I wish I would have caught their names, but they were too busy making sure we had an amazing visit. The way they interact with you will make you feel like a kid again, and I’m so glad the kind gentleman running the ride convinced me to ride with my son. We will definitely be visiting any time we’re in the area, and recommending that everyone else do the same.

What a lovely place to visit! An indoor, beautiful, antique carousel that is over 100 years old. It looks an operates like new. The staff were all so kind and friendly. How refreshing that was! The children who think they’re just a bit too big to enjoy may be surprised to find themselves having fun trying to capture a brass ring. :)

In all honesty we took a ride to this park on our own Lewis and Clark Expedition starting in St. Louis. So we did very little at the park. We spent about 45 minutes taking pictures of Hat Rock and picnicking for lunch. This is a lovely well kept park . The picnick area has ample parking, nice clean picnic tables many in shade. This would be a fun park to explore as it does have a marina. What we saw we liked very much.

Take a support team but I swam across the river and back here about 2 miles. Do not attempt this without people who care if you live in boats and kayaks or paddleboards. When I learn to swim better I want to try a distance swim without fins and hand paddles.

I looked around and didn't see a restroom. There was a note about starting to charge to visit in October. I don't think I'll go back.
Ray T — Google review
It's a cool place for sure. I went during winter so it wasn't green and the bathroom was closed. However it is still a fun little hike to see the hat shaped rock and read about Lewis and Clark and how the rock was formed.. stop by and see for yourself..
D A — Google review
One of those truly magical places. It is still basically wild but has a ton of history and some serious variety of nature. There is recently a suspected arson fire that destroyed quite a bit of wilderness but it's already regenerating just like it should. I did the hike from the Lewis and Clark trailhead Up to hat rock. Along the way you'll see some weird old things I'm pretty sure it's remnants of a old train depot and the foundation ,a bread Baking oven ,a stove And many old rusted remnants of the past. As you walk along you'll see animal paths coinciding with human paths as well as the old railroad grade. Work your way up to hot rock and you'll see an amazing view from the top. One of the best sunrises and sunsets can be seen in this area. Please pick up after yourself not many people will and it becomes a problem if things get chucked over and over and over. Also pack it out if you can instead of overloading dumpsters and making your problem somebody else's problem. I know all of this sounds hippie but we just need to do our part. If you're a strong swimmer there's an enclosed Swim area but you also can venture beyond and go out to the small island not too far. Don't be safe and you might be sorry ,be safe and you'll do much better. There are 2 campsites that are free but you have to reserve them it seems to be fairly difficult to get ahold of the agency in charge. Also be aware that this is rattlesnake country and they come out at night, so protect yourself. They don't want to hurt you ,they're just looking for a warm place to sleep. There are wetlands and scrub brush trees rocks animals just about everything in ecosystem needs. Go experience it. This is real Washington!

This is a great historical state park that is located on the northwest side of the Snake River and Columbia River. Beautiful, well maintained park! Tons of open space with many mature trees that offer ample shade. The water was quiet and beautiful, our toddler & pup both loved watching the geese. The historical exhibit is thoughtfully designed with interesting & relevant history of the indigenous tribes surrounding the Columbia river. Lots of parking & ample space for our RV to maneuver in and out of the park.

Planters are empty or over grown, walking path is dirt, only old swings to play on. The swimming beach needs to be cleaned out and is not usable. This park is sad and needs updating. I felt terrible that we wasted a precious limited time there. If you go through, at least walk through the museum. It was a tiny bit interesting. I give it one star.

The park is located at the confluence of the Columbia and Snake rivers. It is such lovely park with lots of picnic tables under large shady trees. It has a boat dock and paths with informative signs about the area and its history. An interpretive center is located in the middle of the park with displays about Lewis & Clark and the area's native peoples. There is no cost to visit the center. However, a 10-dollar fee or a 30-dollar annual Discovery Pass is required to visit the park.

Clean restrooms, picnic tables, a beach area, playground, lots of shade, and dog friendly (leashed)! One of my favorite places!

It's a great park but could have better upkeep. It's nice because there are rarely a lot of people there.
