Eldridge Park

Park
Water & Amusement Parks
Eldridge Park, located in Elmira, New York, is a historic recreational destination that has been revitalized by dedicated volunteers. The park features a 1890s carousel with hand-carved wooden animals and brass ring feeders, making it one of the few working carousels of its kind in the country. Other attractions include a Mark Twain themed miniature golf course, a miniature train ride, and paddleboat rides on Eldridge Lake.
This place is so beautiful and fun. Not overcrowded, super well kept, and a bunch of fun things to do for all ages. Some cost money but others are free. I was surprised to see a splash pad there now. I didn't know they built one there, so we'll be bringing our suits the next time we go.
Abra R — Google review
This could be a very enjoyable place, I see they have a splash pad now. We often grab a sub from one of the local vendors and enjoy the atmosphere. I really feel the geese are overwhelming and should be removed, it is very difficult to walk and not step in geese droppings, totally disgusting, people we have spoke with feel the same about the geese and the mess they create. Some geese are very food aggressive as well, it really is a shame. The pavilions are dirty and unkempt, cigarette butts / trash cans overfull / picnic tables just dirty / grime and of course the geese gifts are present. I see others fishing not sure what they catch, they appear to be having a good time. Many out walking around the pond not sure the distance around. The picture is the best spot we could find that day free of geese gifts, although you can see some trash present under the table other spots much worse. So far it has not become a hangout for the homeless society. I am really not sure what could be done about the geese, the lack of maintenance and geese are the reason I gave it a 3 star instead of a higher rating. Edit: Another meatball sub day so I took more pictures and asked some folks about the fishing. Carp Bass Sunnys Catfish seem to be what most are catching.

Lovely place to walk with lots to do especially if you have kids. We go early to beat the heat and enjoy the scenery.

Great little park. They have rides for kids in the summer plus mini golf and paddle boats!! I love walking around the pond it's relaxing!
Samantha B — Google review
A nice little park to hang out at - enjoy some rides, mini golf, food, paddle boats .... ☺️

I enjoyed Eldridge Park as a child in the 70's, and even though it has changed since then, I'm glad to be able to take my grandchildren to Eldridge Park. The miniature golf course is beautiful and a great price. The handful of rides make for inexpensive fun. The carousel still has the retro brass ring chute. The bathrooms are clean. The staff are friendly. The walking paths albeit pleasantly scenic would be nicer if the goose population could be reduced.
Wendy F — Google review
Always so beautiful here. Lots of geese, so lots of geese poop but still a great little loop to walk or run. The playground is nice. They have rides, a splash pad, and mini golf in the summer. Great place to take kids.
Manda J — Google review
Went to a very small craft fair. Was expecting more from the promotion. Mostly consumables without much craft or art. Most common thing I heard was complaints about the goose crap. It is nice to see a community park with rides and the carousel for very young but a bit more for the teens and preteens might be needed.

Worlds End State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
Popular with campers, this mountain valley park features rental cabins & 20 miles of hiking trails.
Nestled in the heart of the Endless Mountains, Worlds End State Park is a slice of paradise that has captured my heart for over three and a half decades. This park isn't just a destination—it's a portal to a simpler, more magnificent way of experiencing nature. Picture towering hemlocks standing like ancient guardians over crystalline mountain streams, their branches whispering stories of generations who've walked these paths before. The Loyalsock Creek winds through the park like a liquid ribbon, offering perfect swimming holes where the water runs clear as glass and refreshingly cool even in the height of summer. What makes this place truly special is its stubborn resistance to modern intrusions. Here, cell phones fall silent, and instead of notification pings, you're serenaded by rustling leaves and songbirds. It's a rare gift in today's connected world—a chance to truly unplug and reconnect with what matters. The hiking trails are nothing short of spectacular. From the challenging Loyalsock Trail to the breathtaking views at Canyon Vista, each path offers its own rewards. You can hike for days and still discover new vistas, hidden waterfalls, and peaceful glens. The Double Run Nature Trail remains a family favorite, with its series of cascading waterfalls that seem designed by nature's finest artist. The campground maintains that perfect balance between rugged and comfortable, preserving the authentic outdoor experience while providing just enough amenities to make your stay enjoyable. Each site feels like your own private woodland retreat, where the greatest entertainment is watching the sun paint the sky in impossible colors as it sets behind the mountains. After 35 years, this park hasn't lost an ounce of its magic. If anything, it's become more precious as these kinds of unspoiled places grow increasingly rare. Worlds End isn't just a state park—it's a reminder of what we all need: a place where the wilderness still rules, where families can build memories around crackling campfires, and where the only urgent message you need to check is the one written in the stars above. For those seeking a genuine escape into nature's embrace, Worlds End State Park isn't the end of the world—it's the beginning of something wonderful.
Brian D — Google review
This park is gorgeous! We drove to the top to see the overlook and the rock garden, then hiked down to the creek and back up again. The trails were well maintained and it was a lot of fun to walk through the rock formations along the way.
Sarah T — Google review
We loved campsite 12, it seemed larger than most for our 24' camper. Don't plan on kayaking, especially when it has been dry. Don't plan on road bicycling, unless you love a lot of hills and windy roads. Hiking is the main activity, with most being more challenging in terrain and ascent. Dushore has a nice grocery store not too far away.
Allison M — Google review
Visited Worlds End State Park while passing through Pennsylvania in a Mini-T Campervan and was absolutely impressed. The park is stunning—clean, well-kept, and beautifully maintained. Campsites are on the smaller side, which makes them ideal for compact campervans like the Mini-T, smaller RVs, or tents. Each site feels tucked into the woods, offering privacy and a peaceful atmosphere. The hiking trails throughout the park are scenic and rewarding, and the views of the Loyalsock Creek and surrounding hills are breathtaking. A truly perfect stop for anyone who appreciates natural beauty and quiet camping.

This place is near and dresser to my heart. My dad passed in February and this was one of his favorite spots. It's still just as beautiful as I remember, and I know it is even more beautiful when the fall colors change. Definitely worth a visit. They have a canteen, a camping area, swimming, and walking trails.
Laura W — Google review
Wonderful ! Was not busy. Peaceful. The camp sites are shady. The river across the street is a great place to hang out for hours. Plenty of hiking trails near by. We will be back !
C. R — Google review
First time staying at Worlds End State Park, and it won’t be the last. I’ve camped at several Pennsylvania state parks, and while this one isn’t the largest, it definitely has its own charm. We tent camped and had a site with electric—perfect for running a little space heater on those chilly mountain nights in August. The facilities were a big win: bathrooms and showers were spotless, with great water pressure and plenty of hot water. They even have an indoor sink area with hot water for washing up pots and pans—small detail, huge convenience. Firewood was neatly bundled and ready to go ($8 for a bundle of clean-burning hardwood), and ice was available on-site ($3 small bag, $6 large). Trash and recycling were right there too, which made camp life easy. The park itself is peaceful during the week (almost feels like you’ve got the mountains to yourself), but it does pick up on the weekends. No cell service or Wi-Fi inside the park—so if you’re looking to unplug, this is the place. They do have an SOS satellite option for emergencies. A couple of restaurants are nearby in Forksville, and there’s even a Sunoco gas station a short drive away for basics. Now, the real star of Worlds End is the scenery. High Knob Overlook (about six miles from the campground) is absolutely breathtaking—you feel like you’re looking out over all of Pennsylvania. Loyalsock Vista are also worth the trip, each offering their own spectacular mountain views. Pictures below don’t do them justice, but they’ll give you a taste. The site we picked had a beautiful wooded backdrop, which added to the sense of privacy. Not every site is as roomy, so choose wisely, but if you get a good one, you’re set for a relaxing trip. Overall, this park delivers the essentials—clean, quiet, and convenient—with the bonus of unforgettable views. I’ll definitely be back.
Keith C — Google review
The park is great, everything worked at the playground, bathing facilities were clean, trails were cleared, everyone was sooo friendly, (the dude at the snack shop was the grumpiest person we encountered the entire trip). Also just caution people drive through that place on the main road like it’s a raceway so I’d caution that if you’re crossing.

Eagles Mere Air Museum

Museum

Specialty Museums
This museum is the greatest I had a wonderful time spent three and a half hours there looking at everything I can't wait till I go back
Myra S — Google review
Such a local gem. It is great to see the local businesses supporting one another. From a kid point of view, one of the best features of the air museum was the cockpit replica with controls you could actually play with. The car museum is a little heavy on the Chevys, but the attention to detail, like the steering wheels, parking meters and carburetors as posts to rope the cars off makes this place stand out from other public collections. And the showroom sparkles. One of the staff members even gave my kiddo a quarter to put in the 1950's style Jukebox. The local high school was selling Cokes, Hot Dogs and pork bbq. Who doesn't love to support that? They often have special events, so it's not a bad idea to follow them on Facebook. While in the area you almost have to visit the little town of Eagles Mere. And then support the PA State Parks by visiting Worlds End State Park. You will not be disappointed. It is a perfect way to spend your Saturday.
Janet R — Google review
Visited both the car and air museum today with my family, our second time there. I am blown away at how great of a place this is. It is in the middle of no where PA, and worth the trip. If you love cars and vintage airplanes, don't miss going here. 6 bucks admission with a family discount is offered. If you go on a weekend chances are you can see the old planes flying around. What an amazing site and sound. Super clean, and great parking for people who have nice cars! Trust me I know that is important. Nearly all the parking is paved!

Went for Father's Day to see the cruise-in. An immaculate, interesting museum packed with a lot of neat information and cars. Our son really enjoyed all the cars and seeing a plan take off and land. It took us about an hour to see it all.

I very much enjoyed my visit. The staff and owners that we met were all very kind and helpful. I was there with my 3yr old son and everyone bent over backwards to help keep the experience fun and engaging for him! Thank you!

Really great place. Clean, easy to park, really reasonably priced. Staff is very polite. Ushers super helpful. Even the rain delay was smooth. Great sight lines. Excellent baseball and terrific family entertainment. Highly recommended.

Always quality entertainment. Reserved tickets are ridiculously cheap, you can buy online or at the stadium ticket booth. Plenty of free parking, and you can get first class parking for $3 (super cheap). Great variety of local foods and beers. A nice secret are the foot long hot dogs over in the cove on the 3rd base side. Restrooms are huge, never a line. Boomer (the mascot) roams around during the game, there's a good chance you'll meet him. He also poses for free photos in the 6th inning near the park entrance. Gift shop has a great selection of Crosscutters merch. Truly a great experience. Not a bad seat in the stadium. The sun sets on the 3rd base side, so if shade is your thing, consider sitting by 3rd base.
Bill — Google review
It's a great reasonably priced venue to catch a baseball game. There are a variety of snacks and beverages available during the game. They also have special offers on different days.
RLynnBul — Google review
I must say we actually had a really fun time! The stadium was really nice and clean and they were really active with kids and fans! I'd say we had a great experience since I haven't been here since I was a kid! Very easy to find and park and there is also an extra parking lot across the road if needed for additional parking.
L. S — Google review
The Crosscutters only scored one run tonight and it wasn't until the last inning. That was unfortunate, but players come and go... The show goes on. The staff seemed friendly and enthusiastic. I want to give a special shout out to the guy in the safety vest with the cone who passionately attempted to inspire a melancholy crowd all the way through 9th inning. He was absolutely steadfast with his chants of "Let's Go Cutters!" as this dismal crowd provided virtually no response to his efforts, and all dreams of a win, faded from reality. That guy never gave up. I admire that. I am not sure if you allow fans to vote on an employee of the month award, but if you do, please allot my vote to him. My only serious concern relates to the concession stand. After ordering my sandwich, I decided to live life on the wild side and spice things up by adding a little Frank's Red Hot Sauce using the provided dispenser in the condiment area. As I pressed down on the dispenser, I felt some friction and realized this task would require a little more force than I initially expected. I applied a little more strength and immediately regretted the decision. A massive amount of hot sauce exploded from the dispenser, ricocheting off my sandwich, splattering the condiment area: my forearms were covered in hot sauce. I was so embarrassed after the fiery discharge, that I didn't have the courage to make eye contact with the poor woman standing next to me, who was most likely also a victim of the red eruption. To make matters worse, the napkin dispenser was virtually impossible to use. I stood there, struggling to operate this with one hand as I held my sandwich in the other. If this is a deliberate decision, as part of a "go green" initiative to save napkins, I applaud your efforts, but in this desperate moment, the opposite occurred: I frantically shredded napkin after napkin, hoping to finally get a whole napkin that I could proudly return to my seat with as I used others to wipe the hot sauce off of myself. Eventually, I put my head down and retreated to my seat, with what appeared to be a crumpled wad of toilet paper in my hand. For the aforementioned issues with the condiment area at the concession stand, I cannot, in good conscience, give the Crosscutters a five star review. That being said, the Acme brisket sandwich was excellent and the 32 oz. Labatt drafts, always hit the spot at the ball park.
Adam S — Google review
What a fun game! We were rained out on opening night, but they still managed to keep it fun and entertaining. Food and beer are somewhat pricey, but the atmosphere is worth it. We were able to get a replica championship ring that was really nice quality. We also got a souvenir baseball cap ice cream bowl, with dippin’ dots ice cream, for only $10. A great time!
H D — Google review
Great atmosphere, Intimate and incredible stadium, friendly staff, good, reasonably priced food and beers...and could ever find a cooler logo? Oh yeah and the baseball awesome! Can't wait to make another visit.

Great olden day charm, our seats where under the balcony but I still could see band well. Would recommend.
Mar — Google review
We saw .38 Special here. It's a very nice theater and the staff was great. Good view and on the smaller side so you don't have to worry much about not being able to see. Our ticket prices were very reasonable. Food and drinks were all prices fairly. We sat in the balcony and the rows are way too close. I'm 5' 10" and couldn't sit fully because my legs were against the seat in front of me and the seat couldn't fully go down. I'm unsure if its different on the floor.
Thomas L — Google review
Easy to find, people at the venue are very helpful and friendly. Parking was difficult to find. Had to park several blocks away. Which would have been nice if it wasn’t one of those rainy days. Many small eateries surround the venue but a good suggestion if you are going to eat prior to a show to get reservations. Went to see Casting Crowns for their 20th anniversary. The size of the venue made for a very personable experience. Good sound, a very enjoyable time!
James S — Google review
First time here. Came to see Floyd Nation. Great venue and great show. Sound system was spot on. Parking nearby (3rd St. Garage) was convenient and easy in/out. It's obvious they take pride in this place. Next time I'll come a little earlier and spend some time downtown.
Happily R — Google review
I went here for the first time ever and saw Michael W. Smith in concert. It was a fantastic performance! The staff was very friendly and helpful and seemed to really enjoy their jobs. The seating was comfortable, and the lighting was perfect, as was the audio. It was easy in and out. Parking was just a short walk from the center and allowed us enough time to eat before the show and attend the show. There were plenty of restaurants in walking distance of the center. It is one of the most beautiful venues I have ever attended. I would highly recommend it! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Lisa B — Google review
HORRIBLE BALCONY SEATING!!!! The CAC is really an awesome place to see a show (which is why I gave it 3 stars) - as long as you have floor and loge seating. Balcony seating is HORRIBLE. The rows are super close together, and as a 5'10" gal, my knees were smashed against the row in front of me. I had to get up halfway through the performance and missed the rest. I understand that it is an old building but they really should have a disclaimer when buying tickets. Loge seating is the way to go - comfortable seats, AWESOME view. The sound is awesome, the venue is beautiful. Just purchase wisely :)
Jennifer G — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous theater! We sat in the loge for a children’s show and it was a great view. The architecture is breathtaking and the sound was great. There were a few snack bars and I was expected prices to be high, but I was pleasantly surprised. Bottle of water, kids juice box, bag of Swedish fish and a bag of Combos cost me $8. Only $8! Staff were friendly. Restrooms were clean. Parking available a block away in a paid lot. As a bonus, it’s in a neighborhood with several restaurants and a brewery. Can’t wait to go back!

This Arts Center always has great entertainment. We recently went there to see the Journey Tribute Band which was great. Most recently Three Dog Night which was also great. Coming up on our list is Foreigner. No matter what your interests they have something for you.

Ricketts Glen State Park

Mentioned on
1 list
State park
Nature & Parks
Ricketts Glen State Park is a stunning 13,050-acre natural wonder that boasts over 20 breathtaking waterfalls, including the magnificent Ganoga Falls. This park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, offering an array of activities such as hiking, fishing, and camping. With miles of trails to explore—like the D & L Trail stretching from Wilkes-Barre to Bristol—you can immerse yourself in nature while biking or hiking through picturesque landscapes.
Ricketts Glen State Park is truly a natural gem and an unforgettable hiking destination. I recently explored the Falls Trail, and it turned out to be one of the most rewarding hiking experiences I’ve ever had. The trail is beautifully maintained, and it immerses you in the heart of the park’s most stunning scenery. What makes this hike so special is the sheer number and variety of waterfalls along the way—22 named falls, each with its own character and charm. From the graceful cascades to the dramatic plunges, every turn of the trail offers a new breathtaking view. The trail itself is moderately challenging, with some rocky and steep sections, but it’s well worth the effort. The combination of rushing water, lush greenery, and cool forest air creates a serene and refreshing atmosphere. I especially appreciated how close the trail allows you to get to many of the falls; in several spots, you can stand right at the base and feel the mist on your face. It’s the kind of immersive experience that makes you forget the outside world and simply enjoy the beauty of nature. Along the hike, there are plenty of spots to pause and take in the scenery, making it both a photographer’s dream and a peaceful retreat for anyone who loves the outdoors. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or just looking for a memorable adventure, the Falls Trail at Ricketts Glen delivers. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking natural beauty, tranquility, and a bit of adventure.
Pinakee P — Google review
A beautiful state park and campground. We stayed in the updated loop with full hookups. The sites were spacious and fairly level. The campground offers hiking (the Falls Trail being the most popular), lake activities, and a beach. There currently is a bear visiting the campground but if you take the normal precautions you’ll be fine. If you come from the south, you are faced with a posted 18% grade incline and the opposite if you head south from the park. Logging trucks do use the road so expect some slow traffic when they’re on the hill. The Red Rock Corner store has ice, firewood, a deli, and necessities. Bear Fuel is always near by with gas and diesel. They are both down the hill on Rt 118.
The T — Google review
A wonderful park. Very beautiful, especially in the fall. Highly recommend coming to just walk the beach trail for a more casual stroll in nature. There is also a day use area with picnic facilities and a beach. Various hiking trails are around to acess the park's many waterfalls. Adams Falls is one of the waterfalls and is one that can be accessed from a small rocky climb/hike. Somw trails close in the winter for safety due to the nature of the hikes so make sure to plan accordingly and come in a good season for hiking if you plan to do the falls trail. The beach trail is generally easier and is just a nice walk around the woods and lake. You won't see any water falls on that trail but it gives year round access to the park and is easier for those not looking for a big hike. The beach is open in the summer to swimming but closes the rest of the year. You can still lake along the beach trail but not enter the water. There was a volleyball net up on the beach the day I went. I don't remember seeing that as a recreation activity on the park site so it was a nice surprise. There is also camping (tent, rv, and cabin) but I didn't stay so I can't speak for the camping but still it's nice to note that it is a great option for those wanting to get away to nature. Boats are allowed on the lake and access is provided.
Amusement U — Google review
Beautiful hike. Waterfalls all pretty close to each other. You don't have to walk too far before seeing one. I managed to walk the trail in my long boots without any grips without issues, but it was mainly dry and I found both trails fairly easy (but I'm fairly healthy). I'd always recommend proper walking shoes tho for safety. Parking was free. Couldn't see any meters. Both TOILETS are DISGUSTINGLY filthy. "Swarms of flies" circling the toilet bowl. That tells you how bad it is!! Doesn't look like it's been cleaned in 6 months.
Christine — Google review
This is the best hike I’ve been to! I’ve been here twice already and all of the nature is so beautiful that you just don’t want to leave (P.S. there’s no service here so plan accordingly). This hike is for the moderately experienced, I don’t want to scare anyone away but at some point the rock stairs you have to climb/descend get exhausting and a little scary if you’re afraid of heights. Also make sure your shoes are grippy so you stay grounded. I’d even recommend bringing some hiking sticks, trekking poles, whatever you want to call them, just to get some more stability. I would say it’s pretty safe here people wise, everyone I passed on my hike was very friendly and just going about their own business.
Sasha S — Google review
Clean camping site right by the lake, I heard coyotes howling through the night and the stars are ABUNDANT! Vibe check passed. Was my first time camping like this and I had no issues. The bathrooms are clean and warm, would absolutely come here again
Valerie M — Google review
Ricketts Glen is an absolute gem of a park, and its reputation for a stunning Falls Trail is completely deserved. The hike itself is a breathtaking journey through a fairytale forest, with the rewarding sight and sound of dozens of waterfalls around every turn. The trail, while challenging and a good workout, is well-maintained and provides a true sense of accomplishment. The towering, 94-foot Ganoga Falls is a highlight, but every single cascade has its own unique charm. The park offers so much more than just the falls. The atmosphere is peaceful and secluded, a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Lake Jean is a wonderful addition, with a clean beach for swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding on its tranquil waters. The campground provides spacious and shaded sites, and the lack of cell service is a welcome reason to truly disconnect. Ricketts Glen is a perfect retreat for anyone seeking adventure, relaxation, and unparalleled natural beauty.
Brian J — Google review
Never have I experience an amazing hike with so many waterfalls in one big hike. Talk about the level power it requires to handle this hike but the views, water, the amazing greenery mixed in. Even the drive getting there is worth it. But i recommend this is a summer to enjoy with friends & family.

The Campus Theatre on Market Street in downtown Lewisburg is a charming piece of history that beautifully captures the essence of mid-century cinema. Originally built in the 1940s, this theater showcases several elements of art deco design that have been lovingly maintained and restored, thanks to the support of Bucknell University. Though we didn’t catch a movie during our visit, we had the pleasure of touring the facility after a show. The interior of the theater is absolutely stunning, combining comfort with a nostalgic atmosphere that transports you back to the heyday of going out to the movies. It’s a beautiful space that truly enhances the experience of film-watching. The theater continues its tradition of showing a variety of films while also incorporating digital screenings, which is a nice blend of old and new. The large screen ensures that every movie is a treat for the eyes, and the ambiance really makes you feel like you’re stepping back in time. Additionally, the typical food court offers all the classic movie snacks, like popcorn and drinks, making it easy to indulge while enjoying a film. A unique feature of the Campus Theatre is the apartment available for rent as an Airbnb. This adds a special touch, allowing guests to stay right in the heart of this historic venue and experience the charm of Lewisburg firsthand. Overall, the Campus Theatre is a local treasure on Market Street, rich in history and character. It’s a great stop for anyone who appreciates the charm of classic cinema and wants to experience a piece of Lewisburg’s cultural heritage!

This place was a hidden treasure!! I came into town for work and was looking for something to do when I saw that they were showing a free screening of the movie "The Tingler" staring Vincent Price. The place looked very small at first front the concessions stand in the front and only one theater room, but to my surprise this place was massive and beautiful. I was in awe of how beautiful this old historic theater was. The screening was put on by Bucknell University film school or a film class cause a professor came up and gave us a background of the film. The film was black and white and a bit on the cheesy side, but I had one of the best movie experiences that night. It was interactive, and one of the actors in the class screamed at the same time as a part of the film, which made it more interesting. If I ever come back this way, I will make sure to stop by. If you get a chance, stop by this magic place and support the arts. Thank you too, the staff and film class, for an amazing moment.

I love this place. Like stepping back in time. The decoration and design go back to a time people have forgotten. Going to the movies was something special. You hear the music the curtain opens and the movie starts. That is right there are curtains. Special seats with tables near the exit and accommodations for the people who need plenty of room to get around. A must see.

The Campus Theater is such a wonderful preservation of a historic landmark. I had the chance to see the Paragon Ragtime Orchestra here and I'm so grateful that I did. I highly recommend taking in a show here!

Service is AMAZING. I rented the marquee as a surprise to my husband and he loved it. The response regarding the rental was quick. Thank you for helping me create a BEAUTIFUL memory!

This place is way more than a theatre. It’s a staple of Main Street and the community. There are a wide variety of events for families and students. Many community partners including the university provide events that are free and open to the public. If you are downtown it’s worth stopping by to see what’s on the calendar. Michael is who you want to talk to. He knows everything that is going on at the theatre and is always warm and inviting.

The campus theater is one of Lewisburg's gems. It will take you back to the days of how people watched movies before multiplexes. They always run select movies that have done well in the recent weeks. So you might have to wait a little till the movie you want to watch comes up there but it's worth the wait. Comfy seats, good sound and did I mention good popcorn? I enjoy watching movies and I'm glad we have this theater downtown!

A beautiful Saturday/weekend for Homecoming 2025 activities at Bucknell University. The highlight wasn't just connecting with hubby’s college friends, but also the celebration of 150 years since the first Black student, Edward M. Brawley, graduated in 1878.

Beautiful campus! Impressive facilities and academics. Definitely worth a visit. We took a student led tour. It was interesting to get a current student's point of view. Saw the inside of several academic buildings as well as a dorm.

Out of touch administration resides over an overpriced, but beautiful, party school. The students, faculty, and staff are all very nice but the former are mostly milquetoast liberals with no care other than where they're getting their Natty Lite for Saturday. I've made a lot of good friends there, but I've also gone through a lot of trouble with the administration with the process of getting a new (dry?) roommate. The whole school privileges whiteness and party culture. Not a negative review, but a warning.

Very nice patio for outdoor seating. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had the gruner veltliner. It was a nice dry white wine. Perfect on a summer day

My wife and I came on a Sunday afternoon, our first time. The ladies (employees) treated us like royalty. We did the Sunflower walk, had local BBQ chicken and my wife enjoyed a wine flight. I can’t emphasize enough how wonderfully we were treated. I don’t even drink and I look forward to going again. It looked like it may rain and one of the employees was so thoughtful, she jumped in a golf cart, and came looking for us to offer us a ride back from the Sunflower walk. We were mind blown! Thank you ladies! We Will be back!

We came for a wine tasting and really enjoyed the experience. The outdoor seating offered beautiful views, perfect for relaxing with a glass in hand. They had music playing at first, which added to the vibe, but it stopped partway through—would’ve been great if it continued. Plenty of parking, and they also serve food, which was a nice bonus. Overall a great spot to unwind for a few hours!

We come here often for wine. It's very reasonably priced. My favorite is Niagra and my husband's is Raspberry. The Charcuterie refreshments are tasty. You should enjoy wine and refreshments on their deck with a beautiful view.

Stopped at their Open House just by chance of being in the area on a Saturday in November. Had wine/food pairings @ $1 each; 4 pairings = $4. Ginger Owl was the best surprise. 5 wine tastings for free at bar. Too many to choose from. Need to stop by again to try more.

Knoebels Amusement Resort

Amusement park
Water & Amusement Parks
Theme Parks
Free-admission amusement park with pay-as-you-go roller coasters, pools, golf courses & campgrounds.
We love Knoebels! There is plenty of seating for tired parents. We love that there’s no admission fee, you just pay to ride. Despite being crowded, the park is clean fully staffed. I do wish they offered wristbands even on weekends. I understand if the price would need to be higher on a weekend. We got there at opening on a Saturday and had to wait to be able to get into the parking lot to park but other than that no Wait. they have an app which tells you wait time for the rides. There so many great food options not just standard amusement park food.. I have nothing negative to say. Definitely worth a trip!
Pamela P — Google review
Knoebels Amusement Resort is a wonderful, family owned Amusement Resort in Elysburg PA. There's fun to be had for the whole family. They have lots of classic rides, some of which are the last of their kind. They keep their rides in amazing working order. They have a great selection of roller coasters, and all are a blast to ride. Aside from rides, the park itself is wonderful. It's very clean, and the atmosphere is great. The food here is amazing too, and affordable. You can't miss the potato cakes. They are out of this world. Attractions at the park include mini golf and a beautiful swimming pool. This is a theme park you can't miss.
Lauren C — Google review
In the middle of nowhere central PA, Knoebels is an absolute gem of an independent, family owned and operated park. The free admission and parking, pay-per-ride system at Knoebels is totally genius, allowing non riders to still enjoy a day at the park with family or friends. The focus is on family or kiddie rides but there's plenty for adults too. The gorgeous, huge pool is a feature you don't see often at theme parks, and boy is it wonderful to take a dip on a hot day between rides and snacks. The whole park is BYO food and bev, yet there's also plenty of unique and affordably priced concessions. My favorite treats were Tiger Tails, potato pancakes and apple cider slushies. If you enjoy vintage rides like wooden coasters or historic carousels, this is the park for you! Phoenix is an absolute menace, you will be tossed around like a rag doll and exit the station laughing hysterically, only to run around to ride it again. The Flying Turns trackless bobsled style coaster is one of a kind and a wild, totally unique experience. I really love that they have a campground directly attached to the park so you can stay on site and easily come and go. No fast lane passes offered or needed, as operations here are smooth even on a busy weekday. Absolutely worth the trip to spend a day or two relaxing and soaking up summer fun at Knoebels. If you are a fan of Kennywood out in Pittsburgh, you'll definitely love Knoebels.
K M — Google review
Had a fantastic first visit! So many rides for our one year old to ride and enjoy. The carousels are amazing! And the Coasters are top notch! You can clearly see the pride that the employees have for their work. Early each morning they are wiping all the benches, fixing the gravel, etc. no other amusement park takes this level of care and it shows!! We cannot wait to come back next may!
Jessica ( — Google review
I'll preface with the fact that we went on a Monday. Plenty of parking to be had, the park was super clean and the pricing was very, very reasonable..(ride all day comes out to around $8 an hour if you stay open to close). We did not buy the all-day pass, because don't ride a lot and we went there for the pool mainly. The pool($9 to get in) and the locker area were both super clean and not as crowded as I expected, which was nice... I would recommend renting chairs for the day. Even though we didn't go on them, the slides looked fun! The fact that you can leave the pool to go out to the park and come back is really nice too. There are plenty of rides to be ridden for all ages, but the roller coasters were PHENOMENAL!! This park is free to get into and very family friendly and actually any age friendly, there is really something for everyone there! There is also lots of pavilion space for picnics if you don't want to spend $$ on food there. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of food options they did have. A plaque said they were voted best amusement food in 2024. Highly recommend visiting! Oh, don't forget to download their app!
Christopher J — Google review
This is an amazing family, amusement park. It's not huge but it's not small by any stretch either. It has a really nice homey feel that you don't get at the bigger six flags and cedar Fair Parks. The roller coasters were really good. I enjoyed Phoenix and twister. I also had a garlic burger with smothered fries. Usually burgers had amusement parks are kind of boring. This one was actually sensational. The taste was amazing. I enjoyed my stay here. I would recommend bringing your family here for sure.
Scott R — Google review
One of the best amusement parks I've ever experienced. Great food! And the wooden roller coaster is incredible. We spent almost 8 hours there and it wasn't enough. Can't wait to return.
Dean W — Google review
We visited Knoebels Amusement Resort today with my wife, son, and granddaughter, and it could not have been a better day. The park wasn’t crowded (Mondays and Tuesdays really are the sweet spot), so lines were short and we could enjoy more rides and attractions without the wait. Knoebels is truly a gem in Pennsylvania—family-friendly, welcoming, and wonderfully nostalgic. We stayed from open to close, and the atmosphere never lost its charm. One of the things I love most is that you can bring your own picnic. We packed lunch and dinner, left it on a picnic table in the grove, and—just like magic—nobody touched it. That kind of trust and respect is rare these days. Whether you’re riding coasters, playing games, or simply strolling through the park with a cone of fresh ice cream, Knoebels delivers pure fun in its most genuine form. We left with full hearts, tired feet, and a lot of great memories. We’ll be back again soon!

Such a wonderful place to visit, the people that work there are very friendly and nice. I was there yesterday our tour guide Jack was wonderful and full of knowledge about the coal mine and the town Centralia pa. Jack explained how thing's were ran and how thing’s changed over the years. If you had questions about anything he would answer them for you.

I don’t know about you, but Christmas holds a special place in my heart! There's nothing quite like the magic of unwrapping gifts, even if I occasionally found myself on Santa’s naughty list and ended up with a lump of coal instead. Those little black reminders taught me to always stay on my best behavior! Speaking of coal, I recently took my family to an incredible spot that dives deep into the fascinating history of coal mining. It’s a place that celebrates the hard-working miners who have been the backbone of America. Honestly, it’s a hidden gem that I can't recommend highly enough! The kids loved the playground right next to the exhibit, and I was pleasantly surprised by how immaculate the bathrooms were—definitely a plus for parents! Best of all, the prices are super affordable, making it easy to enjoy a day out without breaking the bank. My family is already planning to return next week! Just a little tip: don't forget to pack a sweater. It gets a bit chilly inside the coal mine, which is perfect for those hot summer days. And if you’re up for an adventure, you can hop on an amazing steam engine train for a ride with breathtaking views. I hope my review inspires you to visit this fantastic place. Trust me, it’s truly a gem waiting to be discovered!

Truly a wonderful time! We only did the mine tour (not the train ride). The 45 degree mine was a great relief from the 92 degree heat. The tour guide was great and was able to educate and entertain both kids and adults. My 7 and 10 year old really enjoyed it and the guide was great at answering all of the questions from the group. It was probably about 30 minutes. After the tour we played at the playground for a bit and checked out the museum right next door. You can tell they don't get a lot of visitors at the museum because they had to turn all the lights on for us.
Heather L — Google review
Great family day trip! We had a wonderful experience with both the mine shaft tour and steam engine excursion. Both together were $25 a person. I thought both tours were well worth the money. The tour guides are friendly and knowledgeable. If you do the mine shaft tour, bring a sweater and wear good sneakers. There is a portion of the mine tour where you walk to various parts of the mine. Be mindful if you have small children, elderly, or anyone who needs assistance. The mine is very cold and the floor can be slick. Come prepared! Great ec

D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc. - Brewery, Museum and Gift Shop

D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc. - Brewery, Museum and Gift Shop is located in Pottsville, Pennsylvania and is the oldest brewery in the nation, established in 1829 by German immigrant David Gottlieb Yuengling. The original location burned down in 1831 and was relocated to its current site on Mahantongo Street. The brewery offers informative tours of its day-to-day operations and a chance to sample some of their beers at the end of the tour.
Among all the domestic and imported beer brands, my preferred one is the PA brewery Yuengling. The name spelling looks very Chinese but it's actually a German name. This is America's oldest brewery and have been growing and expanding very slowly. Finally paid a visit to them and got a very detailed and informative guided tour. After the tour, also got to sample their most popular beer on tap. My most favorite one is the Flight, a light and refreshing beer. BTW, the tour and the draft beer samples are all FREE! 😊
Michael P — Google review
Amazing to see the hard work and dedication that went into building and operating America's oldest brewery up to present day. Our tour guide gave us detailed , fascinating stories for all parts of the brewery including stories behind the beers and behind the brewery operations across US History. I've visited many smaller breweries across the country and this has to be one of my favorite experiences of a brewery tour. Definitely recommend to those who brew, enjoy beer, or any history fan (beer drinker or not!).
Jeremie S — Google review
Very informative museum, all about the area, the family, the business. Really enjoyed the free tour of the brewery. It was well worth taking. Susan, our guide, was very good. There are lots of stairs on and off throughout the tour so just take note of that. Ranks as a favorite for sure!

Rode from Southeast Ohio to visit America's Oldest Brewery....definitely did not disappoint. Tour was full of history and the cold drinks were so affordable. Great staff and atmosphere. Thank you Yuengling staff for such a memorable trip. Please bring back Hershey Porter.

The tour is amazing! Highly recommend if you are in town! Lots of cool merch in the store, and got to try a new beer thats exclusive to the tour
K M — Google review
Free brewery tour of America’s oldest brewery well worth checking out! We walked into the 2PM tour moments before it kicked off. The tour guide was awesome! Informative and funny he kept the hour long tour interesting. You’ll get to tour the caves that were carved out by miners in the 1800’s to give the lager beer making casks a constant 50 degree atmosphere for processing. The canning room was fast paced processing up to 500,000 cans a day of beer! Afterwards you’ll get to sample two of the Yuengling beer line, some of which are only available at the brewery on draft (Vanilla Black and Tan!) The store is stocked with the beer lines available for purchase in cases, memorabilia and company hats/ tee shirts. Glad to finally make the tour. We enjoyed awesome authentic Polish food at Kat’s cafe in Minersville, PA afterwards! Would be awesome to pair those pierogis with the samples at the end of the tour!

Honestly the best tour!!! Jonny was the best she was very knowledgeable and nice! We loved her! If your in Pottsville definitely stop by! You will not be disappointed!
Jessica E — Google review
We came here on a Thursday in June. We were nearby having lunch and looking for something else to do in the area and were able to make it here just in time for their last daily tour at 3p. *Wear closed toed shoes fyi* You can park on the street but there is a lot behind the museum/gift shop. You will walk up a small hill to get here from the parking lot - welcome to Pottsville:) So go into the museum to register for the tour. It is free but you can tip your tour guide. Ours was Sandy and she was friendly and knowledgeable about the history and easy to understand. The tour will take you a road the street to the production area and you will get to go through the underground tunnel. It’s 50 degrees down there but you’re not down there long so don’t worry about freezing. There are stairs to get up from there to the other floors. Nothing crazy just noting in case you aren’t able to do stairs. After the tour (I think it was about an hour btw) you can sample two beers in the area behind the gift shop and then stop in the shop for Yuengling merch. You can also buy beer to take home. Honestly I don’t drink Yuengling beer but I really enjoyed the tour. I did actually like the samples I had as well. If you’re a beer drinker you should put this on your list for a visit. It’s pretty interesting history and the oldest brewery in the US.

Nature & Wildlife Areas
Park draws kids & animal lovers for reptiles, petting zoo & safari rides through a 150-acre terrain.
Lake Tobias is such a fun spot for a day trip! The safari ride is the highlight—you get to see animals roaming freely, which feels way more exciting than a regular zoo. The exhibits are clean and easy to walk through, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. It’s family-friendly, affordable, and has plenty of picnic space. Be ready for lines on the weekends, but it’s totally worth it. A great mix of adventure and learning!

Went by myself today. Employees were all really nice and helpful, seen a lot of cool animals. Prices are great for what you get. Food prices are good too, I got pulled pork, it was edible but not great. More roll than meat and meat was watery. On upside it warned me. Fries looked good but I didn't get to try any. Gift shop nice. Had a great time even solo

Such a great experience (even in the rain)! Make sure you do the safari ride!!!! The staff were amazing! The food was good! We loved chatting with the gentleman in the museum! Mostly all of the animals were active (and if not, the staff do what they can to get them moving around). We can't wait to visit again!

Lake Tobias Wildlife Park is a great place for a day trip. It is a combination of a guided safari area and a more traditional walk-through zoo, and it's great for kids. The safari tour on one of their open-air buses was great. It was interesting to see animals like bison, elk, and Ankole-Watusi cattle in a large, open environment rather than smaller enclosures. They also had rare, light-haired bison, which were mixed in with the rest of the herd. Part of the tour included an opportunity to feed an elk that came up to the bus. We explored the zoo portion on foot. There are enclosures for lions and tigers, as well as primates like lemurs. We also visited the reptile building, which housed a number of alligators, frogs, and snakes. The park has a few areas for direct interaction. Our kids spent time in the petting zoo area with goats and a miniature horse, among other small animals. They also had the chance to feed a large group of young emus. The paths in the zoo section are hilly, so be prepared for a bit of a walk. I did see that they offer carts for visitors who might need assistance with mobility. The pricing for admission and the safari felt reasonable for a full day's activity. Overall, it was a busy day with a good variety of things to see, from the safari ride to the different animal exhibits.

WHAT AN AWESOME DAY we have at this fantastic Lake and Zoo😊!!! It was great from the beginning by their huge parking lot to by the time we left. The whole place, animals, the services, the food, the atmosphere... it's like they think on each and every detail. Yes, they even have a playground for the kids. Put on a comfortable sneakers and be ready to enjoy the walk. And yes, you can bring wagons and strollers. To make this family day more enjoyable take a ride on their Safari tour. 100% recommended. And don't forget to buy the snacks, before getting in the line, to enjoy the ride by feeding all the wild animals. Lines moved faster than you think. So join and enjoy EVERYTHING.

We visited Lake Tobias Wildlife Park on August 29th, 2025, and had such a fantastic experience! The safari ride was the highlight, giving us the chance to see so many animals up close in a beautiful, open setting. The park is well maintained, and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, making the visit even more enjoyable. It’s a perfect place for families to spend the day, with plenty of activities for kids and adults alike. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and educational outing!

This was my first trip to Lake Tobias, my wife had been here previous, but some time ago. I was a bit reserved when I pulled in the lower parking lot. Not very large so I held my thoughts until I reached the interior of the park. So very impressed with every facet of the setup. We started with the Safari ride, and it didn't disappoint. We had one of our younger granddaughters, and she was a bit reserved with feeding the donkeys and llamas but she warmed up as we got further in. The animals were fairly conditioned to the routine, but that didn't stop the fun we had with them. Our driver was super informative, telling us a lot of details about the animals. It was a gorgeous day and most animals were out and active. Too many to describe them all, but plenty to see. Very close. Feeding the giraffes was special. They got right in your face. We packed our lunch so the only food item we got was fresh popped popcorn at the safari area. Awesome. Hot and tasty. All of the staff were pleasant, polite and informative. The reptile show was great. Close up with snakes, alligators and a not so active sloth. Still fun. The bears, monkeys, lions, goats, kangaroos, prairie dogs, panther, and assorted other creatures I can't recall , entertained us all. Well kept park. Lots of fun and educational information. Lots of picnic pavillions and benches throughout the park. We will surely return. Thanks for all you provide.

Nonprofit, 2,600-acre wild bird sanctuary since 1934 featuring a visitor center, trails & overlooks.
Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is an absolute gem for nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts alike! From the moment you arrive, you're surrounded by stunning scenery, peaceful forest sounds, and some of the most breathtaking views you’ll ever see. The hiking trails are well-marked and offer a range of difficulty levels—from moderate walks to more physically demanding treks that reward you with sweeping panoramic vistas. The North Lookout is a must-see; the view from the top is simply unforgettable, especially during peak hawk migration season! This place is more than just a hike—it's a chance to reconnect with nature, take in the fresh mountain air, and experience the beauty of Pennsylvania wildlife in a serene, protected environment. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the visitor center offers great information about raptor conservation. Highly recommend for families, solo adventurers, photographers, or anyone looking to escape the noise and soak in nature’s beauty. Can’t wait to go back!

Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is a lovely nature escape in this part of Pennsylvania. It’s easy to get to, with a large parking lot that makes arrival stress-free. Admission is about $10 per adult, which you pay at the bookstore inside. They’ll give you a wristband for hiking, which gets checked as you enter the trail area. All of the trails start from the same main point, making it simple to navigate. The sanctuary has a small but informative indoor space with educational displays about birds of prey and the local ecosystem, along with a nice little gift shop. Facilities include vault toilets, which are basic but appreciated after a hike. Right next door, there’s a beautiful garden worth strolling through, as well as an amphitheater for events. The trails are well-marked, and the lookouts offer peaceful views—especially lovely during migration season. While the vistas aren’t the most dramatic you’ll ever see, they’re still scenic and satisfying after a short, accessible hike. Overall, Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is a great option for a relaxed day trip—whether you want to learn about raptors, enjoy a few miles of hiking, or just soak in the fresh mountain air.

For the big loop that covers most of the sanctuary, some parts are mark as Difficult while some are Most Difficult. About 1000ft of elevation, though you can take it just as fun with good pace and caution. Very rocky, definitely should have hiking shoes/ boots for traction and watch your steps. If you do the big loop of over 5 miles, counterclockwise is better imho as you hike and the North lookout is rewarding towards the end, also you can see better for the boulder parts. Family friendly with different levels of fitness, small kids can check out the garden and around visitor center. Well marked trails. Shorter hike can be done from South to North lookout for all the good view. Then if you climb from there, you’re committing to the challenge by clockwise route. Plenty of parking spots, nice and very helpful volunteers. Bring your binoculars and some snacks to enjoy the amazing views of the birds

Nice hikes, if not a little challenging. I did the Outer loop ( river of rocks trail and then took the golden eagle trail up to the north lookout). Lots of scrambling, which was fun. Make sure you have good shoes on. Total was about 5 and a half miles of hiking. Saw some vultures and the view was beautiful.

I'm 76 and the trail was very manageable. Beautiful view on the north lookout- helpful staff. Suggest going early before school classes arrive although birds don't start moving until it warms up (thermals). Visitor center is great.

Absolutely beautiful!! This is a must see there are different trails for everyones ability beautiful walk takes about 2 hours if you take your time to get to the top where the views are. 4 to 5 hours for the difficult trail start early.

Great hiking, access, and education. And you can make it as easy or hard as you want. I’ve done all of it, and it’s well worth the cost of entry. This last time my 5 year managed to hike from the south to north lookouts and had a blast.

Pennsylvania is so wonderful for hiking. Just an endless parade of mountains to explore and climb. This was my first experience paying for admission in PA to a state park sized recreation area. I'll be back again to really experience the trail when the crowds thin out. Beautiful views to the north over rolling farmlands. On arrival we were guided to the parking lot furthest from the park office by an army of hi-vis vested personnel. The final vest did some male bonding with the car to park after us. He told the visitor that this wasn't his "real" job and they both had a cute chuckle. Walked to the park office skipping the very nice native plant garden we've enjoyed on a previous visit. 2 adults 20 dollars to hike. Put on the paper bracelet. Checked out the native plant sale. Wanting. Started the hike after interacting with the 10th employee since we've parked. They've all got to greet! Trail continued to first overlook and immediately went to poop. Meaning typical Pennsylvania arid, rocky summits. I'm quite comfortable and will be back. However, when an amusement park's worth of visitors have to watch every step the entire hike they can't afford to be polite for their own safety so they just run into each other. It is bizarre that there happens to be some fake park ranger every 5 feet but they haven't pulled the rocks in the trail out. There were so many employees out that I just had to ignore the greetings after a while to stay sane. We saw 1 hawk. There were 2 songbird species on our hike. At the hawk overlook 1/3 of the area was taken up by, again, staff. They were teens with official vests that read "trainee". You can see a disappointed visitor in one of my photos. On a hike such as ours during peak season peak days you can expect to be in view and earshot of other hikers the entire time unless pushing out on far loops. A great number of parents exhibited anxiety and distress that their child would be hurt. Saw one boy scout flop down on rocks but he was crying 4 nothing. Bring first aid kit and instant ice packs if possible. The overlooks were the most crowded places with a mob of people unable to enjoy space because of the crowd. I can understand why they'd want such an excessive staff around to control the crowd. They haven't provided a venue suited for it and people could get hurt trying to find a space for their family to relax or take a photo. Overall, if this is what privatization of state parks would look like, count me waaaaaaay out. The long benches are an example of hostile design. See photo. Arm in the middle so a visitor can't lie down. WHY? I hope that boy scout is ok.

Absolutely wonderful store. This is perfectly positioned for my travels with my rv. They allow RVs to park for shoppers and the store is amazing! This is the largest store they have! It’s massive!!! I always shop here when I’m coming through on my travels and the huge parking lot allowing space for RVs to park works perfect for my tiny camper.

There was a lot to look at! Lots of taxidermy displays! Cool aquarium and lots and lots of fishing and hunting items. There are clothes for men and women. Boots and socks and jackets. Kayaks, quads and utvs too. Four stars for over priced everything!

This is top notch hunting, fishing, kayaking, hiking ANYTHING outdoors. The amount of inventory is unbelievable. The animal displays are mountains high. On those mountains; mounted animals with signs of what each animal is. Not only is it one of the best shopping experiences but it is educational. They even have a target practice area reflecting the gold mine era. (So cool!) My son and I visited for 3 hours and honestly could have stayed longer. Thanks Cabela’s for having us! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Koziar's Christmas Village

Theme Parks
We recently visited Koziar’s Christmas Village with our family on a Saturday night. It’s a very popular spot and was quite crowded, but parking was well organized with the help of friendly volunteers who guided us both while parking and exiting. The entry fee is $18 per adult and $16 for kids above 2 years. The entire village was beautifully decorated, well maintained, and filled with festive music and cheerful vibes. There were plenty of photo opportunities with Christmas characters, a snack counter, and Santa for the kids. Restrooms were available at both the entrance and near the exit, and they were clean. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and parking was free. We definitely plan to visit again. The only thing to note is that if you’re visiting with a large family, the entry fees can add up — but it’s truly worth it for the magical Christmas atmosphere.

So many lights! Follow the paths. Bundle up. Hot chocolate was great. A little indoor space to look around and warm up. Truly impressive to take in all the lights. Traffic to get into the parking lot is intense worse than you imagine. Try to book a time just at dusk so less cars as more people come later then add at least an hour to your travel time to get into the parking area. My kid was newly potty trained and peed himself in his carseat because we were waiting so long, so maybe cut off fluids to the potty trained littles in your cars and even adults too. Other than the potty training issue and lots of traffic, it was beautiful for all ages.
Laura G — Google review
It had a nice smooth path to walk all around the lights with different themed areas. There were a few things that needed updated, but overall a child would love it. The only issue I had is.There were no handicapped toilets, you could get a wheelchair into inside the area. There were porta-potties outside that were handicapped, but you would have to leave the villiage area to use them.
Julia R — Google review
You feel the christmas spirit and its a nice display and walk around the park. The annoying part is that you have to follow a path and cant really take any shortcuts so you can get to the food or restrooms until the end of the park. We brought our 2 kids and they where hungry when arriving. We thought we could by food, so it became a matter of rushing through the park, we had some snacks with us that helped a little. Could be nice with access to food from the entrance and not wait until exit The food is super disappointing, heated junkfood, its cheap but not worth it. The sign said hot chocolate. Was really looking forward to it, just to be disappointed it was hot cocoa from a machine, so powder cocoa. I recommend eating before going there.
Rasmus P — Google review
Lots of lights and cute displays to see. It was super packed on Saturday, but the staff did a great job directing traffic to park. There were too many people so we didn't go inside the gift shop or get food. Lines at all the good photo ops. Definitely recommend coming with cash, the line is shorter than using credit.

Nice nostalgic walk through the Christmas Village. Some displays showing their age, but kind of expected. Some displays were unlit, but that's the frustrating part of Christmas displays -hard to keep up. Lol All in all, it was fun, watching the excitement of the little ones, and walking down memory lane.

Hershey Gardens, a 23-acre botanical garden and arboretum, was established by Milton S. Hershey in 1937 as a gift to the community and a tribute to his wife. The gardens boast rare trees, themed gardens, and seasonal flower displays that offer visitors unique floral experiences. Highlights include the Historic Hershey Rose Garden, Japanese Garden, and Herb Garden. It's a serene sanctuary for nature enthusiasts and reflects the founder's commitment to cultivating natural wonders.
Beautiful gardens! We stopped by for an hour or so and just loved walking around. The butterfly atrium was also wonderful. The children's garden had a lot of fun areas for the kids to explore - flowers, statues, musical elements, play areas. We loved exploring. The flowers everywhere are gorgeous and just smell amazing. Would highly recommend visiting.

We had a wonderful time at Hershey Gardens! The roses were stunning and still in full bloom, even in late summer. The Japanese Garden was a highlight—especially the meditation spaces, which provided such a peaceful atmosphere. While we didn’t have any young children with us, we still really enjoyed exploring the Children’s Garden—it’s creative and fun for all ages. Overall, a beautiful and relaxing experience. We’re looking forward to coming back with our grandchildren in the future.

What a marvelous afternoon! I definitely will plan a longer visit, so much to see and experience. Lots of easy parking leading up to the Gardens. Butterfly exhibition, year-round! Great gift shop with local products and souvenirs. Thousands of blooming rose bushes when I came, mid-September. Unbelievably gorgeous. I didn’t get to the Children’s Garden or anything beyond the rose bushes, I was always over-stimulated and hot (bring water & snacks!), but so happy I came here. Plan ahead and enjoy!!

What a wonderful experience. This was the first time at Hershey gardens. The gardens were beautiful, even in October, the roses were still in bloom, and there were plenty of activities for kids to do. The gardens are large and there is a lot to see here. The main attraction is definitely a butterfly garden, it was wonderful! I'd come just to see that again!

I love this place! So pretty during early October as the leaves change color! Great weather for the garden! And the staff is great!! I recommend visiting in the fall after school starts or in the spring before school starts then you can take your time enjoying everything! Im glad I brought my camera to take some pretty photos!

The gardens are really gorgeous, the roses were incredible. Fun spots throughout for kids to stop and have fun. We visited pumpkin Palooza and it was perfect for a fall fun day. The butterfly room has so many different butterflies, definitely check it out. They do have a family bathroom with a changing table for little ones.

A peaceful botanical garden with a space to meet and greet butterflies at the start. This garden is right next to the hotel Hershey. A beautifully curated garden with lots of nooks to sit and read a book or walk and talk through. It may seem small but the winding paths take longer than you think. This is a great way to decompress after Hershey park or go for a walk after your spa experience.

The Hershey gardens is beautiful no matter the time of year! I was there for thier pumpkin palooza and it was fantastic! The designs were really cool and they did a lot of work painting them! I was especially fond of the pac man set growing up with that. I greatly enjoyed all the painted pumpkins and learning about the creepy crawlers! I may make this a Halloween tradition!

Very nice amusement park . Overall pretty clean, employees were all friendly. The lines can get pretty long for rides as well so do some research before going. Best rides there imo are wild cats revenge, candymonium and sky rush. The Halloween haunt here was really well done overall and there were overall plenty of scare actors.

Fun place!! Free Hershey ride through the hersey manufacturing process(totally staged and animated but interesting) so much candy!! A dessert area, fill your own Reeses Cup! I have been to Hershey Park last Saturday and I loved it. The park was neat and clean, beautifully decorated for Halloween including a „scare zone“ at night time. Coasters were great! Especially enjoyed Wildcat‘s Revenge, Skyrush and Storm Runner. Will definitely come back!

It's a good park. I've been to many parks in the US and also in European countries. I can say that the price is a little high given the quality of the park. Overall, you can visit a couple of times. I can tell you that it’s better to buy express tickets if you go on weekends, because the waiting time is on average at least 35 minutes.

A sea of positive emotions! Even though we were with our little daughter, who is 4 years old, even my husband and I managed to ride the highest slides, taking turns. I didn't really like the system by which we ate; it would have been better without it.

This was my first trip to Hershey Park. Honestly had little expectations. However I was very impressed with several things: 1. Lots of shade trees around the common walking paths 2. Many ways to get from one place to another. 3. The amount of lifeguards am was a plus 4. The amount of restaurants was amazing 5. Ride selection for both young, teen and adults was perfect. 6. Rides look like they are in perfect order. Actually surpassing Disney in some ways. 7. New rides being added all the time. 8. Making great use of their entire space. My only complaints: 1. Monorail was down 2. Some areas had signs to get from place to place other intersections had none. (Made getting around difficult for first timers) 3. Exit out of main parking lot was confusing. We only saw one main exit sign and stumbled on it after driving around. Will come again. We live 10 hours away. Buy tickets online for deals.

We really had an excellent experience.. my grandson was able to get on a number of kids rides right away with no waiting. I highly suggest the one day meal plan. We were able to get burgers, fries and a large Coke each. Save chocolate world for the end when you're leaving so you can hit the air conditioning before you go and there are plenty of good deals in the checkout laying on the way out. Special shout outs to the attendant on the swing thing who was so engaging in sweet to the young kids really went out of his way to make that right. A great experience

ZooAmerica is an 11-acre walk-through zoo located next to Hersheypark. It features over 200 animals native to North America, including mountain lions, owls, and reindeer. The zoo offers educational programs and is open year-round except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. Visitors can also enjoy the nearby Hersheypark water park with attractions like the Shore wave pool and the Intercoastal Waterway lazy river.
I visited the zoo for the first time with my husband and my children. My children that we brought are age 10, 2, and 9 months. We got there just as the zoo opened. The parking lot is small, but it doesn't seem to be an issue because people come and go rather quickly. There was an attendant there to help people park when we were leaving. The zoo is handicapped accessible and the staff was all very friendly. My kids enjoyed watching the monorail go through the zoo. The zoo itself is small, but has a lot of animals. Some of the bird exhibits were empty because of the avian flu. As I said, we got there just as the zoo opened and a camp was coming through, which meant that a lot of staff were present and answering questions, which was very nice. It was also feeding time for many of the animals, which meant we got to see all of them. It was a great time and we will definitely be back!

So many cool animals to see, a nice very walkable smaller zoo with alot to see. We got to feed the otters which was so fun. Iris and Link were great little critters. We had to get the giant otter stuffy after that experience. Make sure to book ahead of time if you want to do a feeding. The zookeepers were so nice.

The family loves to go there at least twice a year. Last ti.e, it was muggy and sprinkling on and off l, but the animals were very lively, noth indoors and outdoors, totally made the kids' day. I would suggest going about 2 hours before they close; not crowded at all, easier to get to exhibits and overall faster exploration nifty the whole zoo.

We were excited that this Zoo is now included in Hershey Park tickets. It was hot on the day we went and this area was shaded and cool. It was a great break from the heat and there was enough to see with about and hour or 2 of time.

The Hershey Story Museum is an engaging and interactive museum that delves into the life of Milton S. Hershey, the man behind one of the world's most famous chocolate brands. Located in the heart of Hershey, Pennsylvania, this family-friendly museum offers a variety of exhibits and collections that showcase Hershey's history, lifestyle, and legacy.
A fabulous place to learn about Milton Hershey, the Hershey Chocolate Company, and the surrounding community of Hershey, PA (not officially a town). The staff were friendly and the exhibits were a balanced combination of period artifacts in themed cases and interactive screens to better understand the story. There is a token given to activate the interactive screens, and you can personalize them! Overall, it was an informal and entertaining venue, and I would recommend the museum to anybody that wants to know more about my third cousin.

This was a great place to learn about Hershey - not just the Hershey company but the town too. There is a scavenger hunt to keep younger kids entertained. Quite a few interactive exhibits. Add on experiences include the Chocolate Lab (make your own chocolate bar and learn about chocolate) and tastings. The chocolate bar experience at the lab is different than make your own Candy Bar at Hershey's Chocolate World. There is also a café where you can get something to eat or drink (great food and coffee options).

A great stop if you’re short on time! The museum offers a nice mix of the history behind the Hershey business and Milton Hershey’s lasting impact on the town. Chocolate tasting was a fun addition.

Fun way to learn more about Hershey. Some really interesting interactive aspects to the museum which is great for kids. Spent about an hour walking around. We enjoyed learning more about the town. The gift shop was ok - it would be nice if some collectors tins or historic packing was sold to reflect more of the Hershey history or one of a kind chocolates, just available there. We paid extra for the chocolate tasting at the end for adults and kids. Very tasty. I do wish that kids could keep their tasting mug, especially considering the price of the tastings, as our little one really wanted it and it would have been a nice keepsake. A chocolate sample to take home would have also been really appreciated. We offered to even pay for the kids mug but were told no. All things considered it was a nice visit for an hour or 2.

The well-preserved caverns are beautifully lit and off-limits for touching to ensure their conservation. Visitors can also enjoy petting and feeding animals outside the caverns, explore the large gift shop, and engage in gem mining activities. The guided tours prioritize safety while providing fascinating insights into the caves' history.
I really enjoyed visiting the cave. There are some springs with beautiful blue water, and the lighting inside makes it look stunning. What I found especially interesting is that we didn’t have to go deep underground—the cave is right by the river. Overall, it was a really fascinating experience!

Was very informative. Kids thought it was cool to see but talking was too much. They crowd the tours a little maybe 20/30 minutes in-between would be better then 15 minutes. The caverns are beautiful. The petting zoo is goats and 1 alpaca.

This was a fantastic discovery along the way. I went on a Saturday afternoon with my family from 60-4 years old and it was honestly one of the funnest and coolest things I did when I came to visit from NY and it was something different. When you come in you see the animals which were free to see and pet and for 50¢ you could feed them plus a gift shop with some pretty cool stuff then you go down the stairs with the tour guide the one I had was a young kid who was very enthusiastic I think his name was Matthew made the tour very fun and interesting and enjoyable I was there for an hour and didn’t feel like I was my only recommendation if you go is take some comfortable walking shoes that you don’t mind if they also get wet I went in my Yeezys 😂 but definitely was something great and would do it again highly recommend if you’re in the area and looking for something cool and different

I recently visited the caverns, and it was an amazing experience. The underground formations were absolutely beautiful, and you can really feel the age and depth of the place. There’s a lot of history behind how the caverns formed, and our tour guide made it come alive with fascinating stories and facts. They were very knowledgeable and took the time to answer everyone’s questions. Overall, it was a great trip that I’d definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys nature and exploring something truly unique.

Nicely set up. Guide Chris was amazing and a great story teller . Plenty of parking . There is about 71 steep steps to get to the cavern and up, so absolutely no strollers, wheelchairs or people with walking disability. Cavern is not as big as some other we been and not as beautiful , but still worth to have a day with family . 52’F in a cavern , so not too cold and long sleeve will do just fine . The cost is $24.50 per adult .they do have discounts for kids and seniors. They also have goats , lama, turkey , peacock etc, so you can bring carrots , apples , lettuce to feed them , they also have a dry feeder that cost $0.50 for a small portion.

The tour guide, Maria did a good job keep my young kids interested and even had the tour group sing happy birthday to me in the cave, which made my day more special! Glad we came here!

Nestled in the heart of Pennsylvania, Mount Hope Estate & Winery is a captivating destination that beautifully marries history with the art of winemaking. This 19th-century mansion serves as a vibrant hub for wine enthusiasts, featuring a delightful wine shop and tasting room where visitors can sample over 20 varieties of their handcrafted wines, alongside beer and cider options at select locations. Beyond its impressive beverage offerings, Mount Hope is renowned for hosting various festivals throughout the year, including the beloved Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire.
Amazing! You don't need to buy tickets if you're just going to the winery and it is so worth it. $5 for 5 tastings and you get to keep the glass. Any tastings are $1 and you can go through the whole menu. Definitely worth it and very cute spot. There's place to sit while tasting though, keep that in mind!

The place has a lot to offer with plenty of activities for both adults and kids. The food is good, though definitely on the pricey side. Sundays get really crowded, so expect a lot of people. Overall, a fun spot but a bit expensive.

My first time at the fair and what an experience!!!! So much to do there and many cool lil gift shops and stands. Parking was super easy also. We can't wait til next year to visit again!!

Went to the PA Renn Faire and as always....it was amazing!!! The costumes, the food, the ale!!! Parking was a breeze and there was virtually no wait. Scotch eggs y'all!!! Also the Peach Vanilla Cider. That was from another planet!

The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire is always a great time! The entertainment is usually great, the food is always excellent, and just the overall environment is fun and enjoyable. It is a rain or shine event so you better be prepared because they don't stop no matter what the weather does. Yes it's harder to enjoy when it's raining, but as long as it is warm enough just suck it up and enjoy yourself! The Jousting is always awesome, the idea of living the medieval life speaks to my soul LOL.

The grounds were exciting and diverse. The characters were talented, well dressed, and extremely entertaining. Though, during the final Pub Sing on the last day of the season, one of the main characters, King James of Scotland, kissed his right hand man. I don't care what each person's personal deviant affiliation is, that's between them, their partner, and God. What bothers me is when they put their preferences on display on the main stage without giving the audience a choice as to whether or not to watch. There are many children in the audience and mine were left with questions I was not prepared to answer during a fun family outing. The last time I went to the PA RenFaire there was no signs of sexual preferences or innuendo on display for the main story line events. We steered clean of all the shows that were marked Not Suitable For Children.

The rennfaires are always so much fun... expensive, but fun... haven't really found any food that I'd order again. I need to plan to stop somewhere for breakfast beforehand next time.

We go here for the Renaissance Faire and it's a hoot! Semi permanent structures add to the setting as you step into a fantasy world based on ye olde England. Some merchants, including food, only take cash.

It offers an array of retreat options for various groups and thrilling outdoor activities such as zip lining, pool parties, and team building exercises. The resort provides cabin and cottage rentals for overnight stays, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the rustic charm of Lancaster County.
I've been wanting to check this place out for the last few years and we finally made it down there and will absolutely be back! Our first impression was how clean and well-maintained the property was. They have taken great care to keep their facilities updated and maintained. Our family purchased the ascent package which included two ziplines, the aerial obstacle course, rock wall, and a few other on-site activities like sling-shots and the reptile house. Our kids range from 6-16 and they ALL loved the ziplines. I think next time we would purchase the package that included the other ziplines as well because the kids loved that part. I've been on other ziplines that required a steep climb and these didn't which was nice because it was accessible to a wide range of ages and ability levels. We spent about 2.5 hours there and felt like we got our money's worth. It was a highlight of my kids' spring break. My wheels are already turning about bringing teams or youth groups down here as they definitely have a perfect set up for that.

Absolutely by far one of the top greatest experiences I've had in my 65+ years, and to top it off Alex and Emma made it even more awesome. Best guides ever. Can't wait to make this an annual event....thank you to all the staff as each one of you were AMAZING

For anybody who has adventurous kiddos, I've got a place for you. My 7-year-old daughter and I checked out Refreshing Mountain for the first time yesterday and spent nearly 5 hours there of pure fun. Together we did 5 ziplines, tackled all three levels of the the ropes course, climbed a rock wall, fed some barn animals, enjoyed the beautiful playground, road pedal carts, and so much more. The property was clean and the staff was so welcoming and helpful (it actually felt unrealistic because of how most businesses are ran these days.) Choosing to spend our day at refreshing mountain was the best choice we could have made for our mommy & me day! Run, don't walk, to enjoy your own day at Refreshing Mountain. 🤸You SO won't be disappointed. (And if you can, request Starla and Thaddeus - they were the bomb.)

5 stars — Because where else can your kids fly through trees, hug a pig, become wild plant experts, AND be fully worn out before dinner? Refreshing Mountain has officially earned its spot as our family’s home away from home. We’ve been coming here at least twice a year for seven years straight (minus the COVID gap we’ve all blacked out). And every single visit has been pure magic. Today? Top-tier. We ziplined, tackled obstacle courses, climbed walls like tiny action heroes, and visited the farm where one of my kids fell deeply in love with a pig. (We are now apparently a “we need a pet pig” household. Send help.) But this time, we also tried something new—a foraging class, recently added to their already amazing lineup of activities. My kids are now self-proclaimed wild plant experts, and I’m only slightly concerned they’re going to start making backyard salads out of suspicious leaves. But in all seriousness? It was fantastic. Educational, hands-on, and so much fun that no one even asked for snacks during it. A miracle. And then there’s the moment that keeps us coming back: years ago, when my disabled son Rhys couldn’t zipline on his own, the incredible staff made it happen with a tandem ride that let him soar through the trees like a superhero. It was a moment I’ll never forget—and the kind of kindness and intentional inclusion that defines Refreshing Mountain. Every staff member we’ve met has been welcoming, patient, and genuinely happy to help families make unforgettable memories (even if we’re loud, chaotic, and slightly muddy). This place isn’t just an adventure—it’s a gift. 1000/10 recommend. Just maybe don’t come during peak Carlisle car show traffic, unless you enjoy testing your patience before the ropes course.

We attended the homeschool day and it was truly "refreshing." The grounds are beautiful, peaceful, and very inviting. The check in was super easy, the staff is amazing and so friendly. My girls (5,9 and 11) had fun from 10 am to 5 pm, non stop! The price for the homeschool day is super reasonable and we are grateful to have this available to us. Thank you all we can't wait go back.

Nestled in the tranquil woodlands of northern Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Wolf Sanctuary of PA is a family-owned refuge offering guided tours and special events like Full Moon nights. Spanning over 80 acres, this sanctuary provides a unique opportunity to observe wolves and wolf-dogs in their natural habitat while serving as an educational center for wildlife conservation. Visitors can sign up for guided tours to learn more about these majestic creatures and enjoy the serene surroundings.
The guided tour was a fantastic experience. Our guide Kristen was extremely knowledgeable not only about wolves in general but also the back story of each individual wolf. This is a forever home for these wolves and most definitely not a zoo.

We went for our dad's 75th birthday on a full moon night. I would not recommend taking your older loved ones here. Hilly, gravel trails are what you walk on. We loved the enthusiasm and knowledge of the volunteers. We hated that more tickets were sold than expected (which we know helps the wolves) and we didn't get the small group tour to learn. The wolves are majestic and their howling beautiful. We did not get to see the entire sanctuary because there was not enough volunteers, that made the trails clogged with too many people. We took chairs and carried them. That sucked. You DO NOT NEED CHAIRS. There are benches and a fire pit by the gift store at the end of everything. My suggestion: bypass the moon nights and go when you can score a small group tour of the ENTIRE facility. We were thankful for all the knowledge the pony-tailed volunteer dropped on our large group of about 100 people. We appreciated the no kids under 16 rule for the moon night's too. There's such a rich, wonderful history to this place and we wanted to hear all of it. 5 stars for the wolves. 5 stars for the volunteers. 1 star for over selling tickets. Bottom line: go for a day time visit with a small group.

We actually had the pleasure of staying in one of 3 cottage's on the property. We stayed in the Paymaster's Offfice. It was an adorable cozy place that had a gas fireplace, a large air jet soaking tub, kitchenette that included a coffee maker, electric tea kettle, microwave, cook top with two burners, dishes, silverware, pots and pans. Breakfast is included with your stay and was delivered to the cottage by Maggie. Also included is a tour of the wolves. In the early morning hours, we had the pleasure of hearing a symphony of wolves. What a beautiful way to wake up. Everyone should experience it at least once. They take great care for these beautiful creatures. Our tour guide Michelle was very nice and knowledgeable about every wolf on the property. They all have a story to be told. I highly recommend going in the fall when the wolves are more active due to the cooler weather.
Alma W — Google review
I loved my visit to the Wolf sanctuary. The volunteer was awesome and he worked there for over 20 years volunteering, extremely knowledgeable and I learned a lot. I will certainly be going back when all the leaves are down so you can have complete full visual of the wolves. The grounds are pristine and well kept. Can you tell I loved it there?

We did the full moon night walk. The wolves were on and off active. We learned a lot from the guides. I wish you were able to know the entertainment before booking. There was a poet our night and not live music.

This is a really interesting place to visit. I would recommend it! It is an experience you will remember for a long time. You get to see them up close and personal. How they interact with each other and the guide does a great job explaining anything you want to know about them. You will find it educational and entertaining with guided public and private tours. Book ahead when they have limited availability. They also have a gift shop if you want a souvenir.
Dragonfly — Google review
This place is incredible. The tour guides are incredibly knowledgeable, the wolves are respected and intentionally cared for, 1.5 hour out from Philly - worth the drive. Will visit again. Close to Shady Maple if you want some good food after your visit
Caroline D — Google review
We had a private tour with Denny; he was such a knowledgeable tour guide and passionate about the sanctuary. We got to see the beautiful wolves before their feedings, so they were active and eager to be fed. Hearing the wolves howling was amazing! In the 2 hours we really got to know most of the 55 wolves the sanctuary cares for. Denny was amazing and made this experience unforgettable. Highly recommend this experience!

The Green Dragon Market is a must-visit destination, offering a unique blend of state fair excitement and discount shopping opportunities. With over 400 local vendors, this PA Dutch market is a weekly tradition for many locals. Visitors can explore the expansive 20-acre parking lot and choose between outdoor flea market stalls or indoor shops within 7 large market buildings.
It’s only open on Fridays. This is a great open air market to go to! Farmers market, swap meet/flea market, collectibles, interesting restaurants. Finks sells excellent French fries, and I’m dying to try the pulled pork and brisket. Fresh sliced meats, great prices on produce, spices, action, you name it! I can’t wait to go back.

I absolutely enjoyed the day moving throughout the market. Every vendor was kind, talkative and would answer any questions. The variety was amazing. Every kind of baked good, canned, pickled and preserved delicacy to be found. Raw milks, fresh cheeses, freshly ground spices, handmade candies, a variety of addictive candied brittle, produce and meat all under 1 roof. The desk making vendors were ready to help you get what you wanted and the vintage auction was so much fun!! The grilled chicken dinner at dusk finished off a beautiful and memorable family day. 10/10 recommended!!

Something for everyone can be found at The Green Dragon Market. Farm fresh produce, meats, cheeses, fruits, candy, furniture, home decor items, toys. Hot food of all sorts, some of the biggest hot soft pretzels you will ever see. Only open on Friday. A huge selection of Amish merchandise available plus Auctions, as well as a large variety of flea market items. Plenty of parking available but be prepared to walk a lot of miles.

Honestly, one of the best markets I've been to in a while. The food was amazing, the booths weren't all the same things, and the vendors are pretty chill. Managed to snag some phillies merch and some cool vintage housewares. We got there around 10am and the parking wasn't too bad. Two of the vendors made mention that it had been the busiest day they'd seen in weeks. Hopefully when I return next week it won't be as crowded. Nevertheless, all went well and I'm happy with my purchases. Some vendors take strictly cash, others take the various cashapp type payment methods. Wear a good pair of walking shoes and you'll be fine. Plenty of places to eat and shop.

LancasterHistory is a local-history venue that offers a variety of attractions, including exhibits, galleries, an arboretum, and tours of President Buchanan's home. The history of Lancaster dates back to the 1st century when a Roman fort was built in the area. After the Romans left Britain, little was known about Lancaster until the 11th century when it fell under Norman rule.
What a nice day at the Lancaster Museum. Excellent perspective on the last 300 years of history. I learned about the past presidents and some of the people who I’ve heard of, but did not know how they contributed. I’m looking forward to coming back while the library is open.
Baron M — Google review
A nice facility. As far as being a museum, there is not much in the way as far as exhibits go. The history aspect we suspect is for researchers eyes only. The real draw is the fact that this is where you must buy the tickets to see the adjacent presidential home.

Nice historical look into the life of Pennsylvania's first president and his homestead.

The Lancaster History Museum and President James Buchanan's Wheatland are the same venue. We didn't peruse the museum collection, but watched the movie and toured the mansion. The excellent movie explains Buchanan's political life, going deep into Buchanan's motives and actions that failed to keep the nation together. The house and its furnishings are almost entirely original to Buchanan's time there and the tour guide gives an excellent summary of Buchanan's personal life.

This location, The Home of former President James Buchanon, was absolutely fascinating. The Fulton Theatre, housed in the historic Fulton Opera House, is a grand space known for its current and classic musicals, plays, and family-oriented shows. As a non-profit organization, it aims to move the collective soul of the community while honoring its national landmark status as the oldest continuously operating theatre in the country. The theatre produces rotating main stage productions and one-hour family-oriented musicals on Saturday mornings.
My wife and I recently went to the Fulton Theater to see Beautiful, the play about the life and music of Carole King. The theater and the block long complex it is part of, is amazing. The facility itself, is centered around a wonderful restoration of the theater. The architecture is wonderful and the restoration is true to period. The entire facility is quite nice as everything from bars to restrooms have been built to satisfy the comfort of the theater’s patrons. The staff were all friendly and helpful accommodating the needs of the “older” clientele. My wife and I visit Lancaster many times every year. Now I know to check the theater’s schedule in advance. It feels like seats are very available even for last minute bookings, but I’m picky about seat location!

A must try experience for everyone. Shows of all kinds that will cater just about anyone. Besides the big main shows they have more child friendly ones on the weekends as well as dinner date shows in different parts of the theatre. From the handful of shows that I’ve been to I’ve never been disappointed. Have created a lot of memories here! Highly recommended

Comparative to Broadway shows. The costumes were amazing. You felt like you were going to a Broadway show. Friendly staff. They also sell candy, drinks, souvenirs. The person playing the piano before the show was amazing. They give you a history of the show at the entrance right hand side. The balcony was scary if you’re afraid of heights.

The singing amazing!!! Especially loved Kanisha and Samantha’s duet! Very gifted actors and singers. David Toole did a great job playing Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde! Highly recommend seeing it! Running until November 2nd.

It's a three hour drive for us to see a show at the Fulton Theatre, but the trip is always worth it. We have been visiting the Fulton for over 15 years - (first time visit was to take our daughter to see Princess and the Pea). We have purchased tickets for seats in all 3 levels of the theatre and have enjoyed every performance regardless of our location. I highly recommend seeing one of the Groff Series plays in the Tell Theatre on the 4th floor of the Fulton. A more intimate setting (up to 100 seats) and the space is completely transformed for each show. We saw "The Irish And How They Got That Way" - a wonderful immersive experience - my husband and I were fortunate to be seated "at the bar" on stage and interacted with some of the cast members! Get on their mailing list! They run a "Christmas in July" sale that offers season passes at discounted rates.

As of this review, we've seen around six shows and I've yet to have a bad experience here. The Fulton Theatre is an absolute treasure with incredible, high-quality plays/musicals. Their latest show, Cats, had the most decorated set I've ever seen at a theatre, and probably the most immersive experience too! I'm always excited to keep coming back. Lately, though, we've noticed that some of their key art is AI generated which feels extremely against the spirit of local arts.

Haven't seen a show here in decades, but my mom was the artist director in the 1990s and it was fun to see it all again.

Visitors can explore the market on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays to discover Pennsylvania Dutch doughnuts, empanadas, falafel, charcuterie-style meats, artisanal cheeses, and hand-carved sandwiches.
Prepare to be overwhelmed (in the best possible way!) by variety of delicious treats. You'll find everything from artisanal cheeses and meats, to various prepared foods, perfect for a quick bite or a meal at home. The bread and warm pastries is simply irresistible. You must try pretzels, although they don’t appear as ginormous as Auntie Anne’s ones they are filling and oh so delicious! And for honey lovers- this is your place! I got wildflower, honey, basswood honey and even buckwheat honey! So excited to try them!

Exciting and very busy place on a Saturday. We arrived to check it out on a lovely bright sunny day. Food vendors inside and out musicians the smell of baked goods and coffee. We looked at all of our choices for lunch and decided on ntwo deli sandwiches from Deli Grassi which was turkey with peppers,, lettuce and tomatoes on freshly baked bread from Philly. $26 for two sandwiches. Had two cokes and got some Boston custard donuts from the Amish Red Maple Bakery. Very crowded and you have to pay to park. So many choices inside and out check it out for yourself. 🌹

Absolutely loved this indoor market. If you like fresh veggies, locally sourced milk products, fresh meat, etc., you will love Central Market. It gets busy as the morning moves on, so get your items early. The fudge from Uncle Leroy's Candy Kitchen and the beef sticks sold by S. Clyde Weaver are top notch. Vendors we purchased from were friendly and worked efficiently. Loved the fresh vegetable stands as well. You will need to pay for parking and watch your time closely! Allow at least an hour if you are someone who likes to peruse nearly every vendor.

Just spent the weekend july 11-13 at motel. It was great, the room was fine, we were close to the pool which was also very nice. Ithe pool wasn't crowded but the people we met were all very nice. I loved everything about this motel except the truck volume that passes by. They have lawn chairs to watch the Amish but it was too loud to enjoy with the trucks. There is a nice deck to sit on in the back of the motel, the pool was clean, rooms clean... The staff were excellent as well. It's just to many trucks and noise. Oh yeah, there is a building next to the motel that sells buggies. There was an audible noise coming from that building until maybe 6 pm... Would I stay here again? No only because I visit to see the Amish not the trucks.
