World's Smallest City Block

Mentioned on

Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Nestled in Dothan, the World's Smallest City Block is a minuscule gravel triangle adorned with a stop sign, street sign, yield sign, and a monument proudly declaring its title as the tiniest city block globally. Originally larger with a two-story structure and snack shop, this historic site now stands at just 10 feet by 30 feet.
There really isn't much to say about this, it's just a small triangular shaped "city block". There is plenty of parking and all directions to this, however, there are no crosswalks to it so you should pay attention when crossing the road. I think the area is pretty safe though, especially during the day, but it's just a small place for you to go grab a quick picture and then quickly forget about it because there isn't much to it.
Jeremy B — Google review
A funny little place to recognize. I'm happy to learn of this and show my 5 yo, in addition to other Dothan facts, such as the many contributions of George Washington Carver.
Monique W — Google review
I took my fiancée on a whimsical surprise trip to see the "Worlds Smallest City Block" in Dothan. It was hilarious pulling up to it and getting her reaction on the "big surprise" I had for her. We got out of the car, took pictures, laughed, and enjoyed this momentous occasion. It's places like that remind us that we can enjoy the simple things in life, and it's not always about the destination but the people you're with. I'd recommend this place for the adventure seekers and the people who can make any moment a memorable one. This is for the simple at heart and the whimsical-minded. It's a free tourist attraction with bragging rights. Most of all, it's a way to make memories with loved ones.
Robert H — Google review
Cool place not sure what defines a block. There are other things to see around too.
Wild M — Google review
Not a ton to see, but if you’re in Dothan, you might as well check it off as seeing it! It’s a triangular city block with a granite engraved stone and stop sign. We saw it at night as we were driving through.
Emptynesters T — Google review
100 percent is as advertised. You can cross the entire block in one good step. 10/10, no notes.
Joshua H — Google review
On the road traveling and stopped briefly in Dothan, AL. Once there we visited what is known as,"The Shortest Block in the World., what amounted to a triangular piece of land stuck in the middle of a crossroad. It was interesting and the lack of a lot of traffic allowed for pictures.
Secret G — Google review
It's a quick 5 minutes stop that saying 'I've been here' with a few selfie posts kinda place. Vedy unique tho.

Museums
Non-profit organization
The Wiregrass Museum of Art, located in the historic former water and power plant in downtown Dothan, Alabama, offers a captivating experience for art enthusiasts. The museum showcases rotating exhibits and permanent contemporary art collections, with a focus on artworks on paper. Visitors can explore diverse exhibitions featuring pieces from the early 20th century to the present day.
It had been a while since I've been to this museum, maybe over 15 years. I stopped by to check out the exhibits and I was impressed. This building is incredibly clean and well maintained. They had a lot of great art there. Even though it's a very small building. There is a little bit of something for everybody, and I'm really glad that I stopped by. The security guard and the lady that were at the museum today were very friendly and very helpful. There is so much great art here and you should stop by if you are in the area because it would only take about 30 minutes or so to see everything.
Jeremy B — Google review
This free art museum in the heart of Dothan combines permanent and rotating exhibits in a historic brick building. The small gift shop features books, prints, and various items featuring the slogan "art elevates the everyday." While construction was still ongoing at the time of my visit, making it awkward to get in and out of the parking lot, it was well worth the trip, especially with the friendly, welcoming staff waiting just inside the doors.
Kat — Google review
I LOVE ART 😍 This museum is so special to me. They've always been here. Every since I was a little kid.
Mar'Taja J — Google review
It is very interesting to explore new exposition. Unique arts. They programs are changing, and keep up with the museum on FB.

The Art Museum is mine and my daughter's favorite place to hang out. The space is quiet and has an open and modern yet historic feel to it. The curators do such a wonderful job of bringing in new exhibits regularly. WMA is such a wonderful and vibrant representation of southeastern art, culture, and history.
Wayne G — Google review
A beautifully curated selection of local art! I will be back for the energy this space offers. Perfect for an afternoon sketch or a meditative environment to be still amongst the featured artists.

Folklore Brewing & Meadery

Mentioned on

Brewery
Food & Drink
Bar
Folklore Brewing & Meadery is a hidden gem located on an old family farm in the backwoods of southern Alabama. Despite its unassuming appearance, this brewery offers fantastic craft beers that reflect the area's regional brewing culture and Southern traditions. As Dothan's first packaging brewery since Prohibition, Folklore Brewing & Meadery is a family-owned business with a passion for creating great-tasting beer.
Terrific varieties of beer & mead (yummy), delicious New Orleans style food and fellowship! Seating inside or out, both dog friendly. If you are visiting the area or live locally, it’s a must try. If you RV, it’s a great Harvest Host location.
B M — Google review
Every beverage on our flight was Perfect! Music by Tommy Shilds was memorable. As the crowd thinned out, Tommy bought his guitar fireside to finish the last set and visit with remaining guest - so enjoyable. The Brewmaster was on sight visiting with guests - Great guy, very personable, true passion for the craft. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Onsight food service and friendly staff. Definitely worth checking out! If you have camper, call the Brewery and reserve one of there limited spaces.
Michael S — Google review
Second visit to Folklore. They are growing! More beers, more options for eats. Nice folks, they care about your experience and every person we dealt with was really nice. There's a disc golf basket and great outdoor seating. We'll be back!
Cindy S — Google review
Fantastic staff. Beer is absolutely incredible. So many types and varieties. I'm not a beer drinker but they had a selser called grape pop. OMG, you could get in serious trouble with that. Tastes like fanta. Monday through Wednesday they have bar food which is okay but not great. Full kitchen on the weekends and the menu looks great. They do a good keg business. Lots of locals drop by for a glass. Super dog friendly. We will definitely be back. Big shout out to Uncle Kenny for making us feel so welcome.
Denise G — Google review
Great local Brewery with a selection of all your basic beers: blonde, pilsner, ipa, Porter, and Mead. I'm not a big fan of mead, so I can't tell you much other than it's sweet and has higher alcohol. They brew a good basic beer here, but really need to start brewing a hazy! Occasionally they mix their beers for a seasonal selection, and once in awhile have a wild hair Brew. Good out of the city, comfortable outdoor sitting place. Have music and games and many other things too. Another year has gone by, and they are still just as good as they were when they opened over 10 years ago. Each year they add something more to their outdoor area and continue to make it a nice place to hang out. In this day of everything going up 30%, their beers are still affordable. UPDATE!! They finally have a Hazy!! And it is A bad ass!!! Super tasty, hoppy (but not heavy), and hi ABV 7.7%!! Hopefully they will come out with a lower ABV so I can drink more than just one, maybe two! LOL... UPDATE #3, they had a milder hazy for a while and it too was delicious, hopefully one of them will become a regular.UPDATE#5: the food area has expanded its menu and is really good
Steve K — Google review
Loveee the live music + vibes here! Kid friendly, pet friendly. Blueberry lemonade mead is delicious! Also went here for a sip + paint! Good date night place!
Shyann H — Google review
A local gem. The beer list is creative and well-crafted, with something for every taste, from smooth lagers to bold seasonal brews. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, making it the perfect spot to hang out with friends or meet new people. You can tell the team behind Folklore cares deeply about the community and the craft.
Chris C — Google review
Great beer, prices are very fair! Darn I forgot to take pictures of the food, it was good. Best of all it's a harvest host. We stayed the night in our 5th wheel $15 for electric. Quiet, very gracious host. Definitely recommend stopping by for some food and refreshments! There is even a great outdoor space for adults and the kids. Dogs are welcome. A terrific experience all around!!!!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! AMAZING DAY AND GREAT VALUE FOR A FULL DAYNOF FUN!!!! This family owned business was very knowledgeable unprofessional. Answered all our questions! I def see why people start earlier in the day because the spring is so much fun you’ll want time to play there and still more time to kayaks the full length. We chose to spend extra time in the spring and take the shorter kayaks trip. The spring was amazing! It’s def a must see and I would recommend using this company!!!!
Tara A — Google review
Overall we had a good experience. We arrived and checked in 15min early for our 10:30 departure. We ended up leaving at 11:15am with actually getting on the water by 11:30. I understand it was a busy week but I think having another van and extra workers would have made sure everyone got the time they paid for. Once we arrived to the boat ramp we discovered one of our kayaks had a broken seat and the other had broken straps. Others from our same company had broken things on their kayaks as well. There were other people at the ramp who had already been waiting for 90min to get in the water because their company (not sure which one) forgot a boat and paddles so at this point after getting delayed and everyone else delayed it was either get on the water or end our adventure. You will want to note that the signs for turning to go upstream towards the spring are not well marked. We would have definitely missed it if someone wouldn’t have been there. There should be a bigger sign or arrows marked in orange, not green. This also goes for the takeout spot. Once we were at the spring it was all worth it. The kids absolutely loved jumping into the water from the rope swing. The water was a bit cold but the views were beautiful. Everyone at the office was super nice. Some money definitely need to be invested into the business but overall it made for an affordable family day adventure.
Kayla T — Google review
We rented 2 tandem kayaks for 4 adults. The online reservation was easy. The drop off and pickup locations were easy to maneuver. The directions to the springs were clear. We got there early to enjoy the springs before it got too crowded. The water is cold but crystal clear. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area!
Carri D — Google review
Super fun experience with Cypress Springs Adventure! The rental and check-in process was smooth and hanging out at the springs was a blast. I loved having to paddle a bit further to get to the loading dock for pickup at the end which extends the excursion. Would definitely go again!
Kendra M — Google review
We went on a busy memorial day weekend. Plenty of people. There is a vehicle van that takes from the parking lot, to the kayak stream, and from there you travel to the appropriate pickup station. It was a nice relaxing day through the stream. I wish I got better pictures.
Sharay W — Google review
Our family has visited Cypress Springs Adventures a few times on our trips to and from the Gulf, and it is a must do! The prices are fair, reservations are easy to make online, and they take care of everything from loading and unloading your kayaks, providing paddles and life vests, and transporting you to and from the water (thanks, Dylan, for being a great driver!). You can choose to kayak a 1 mile stretch of water or a 4 mile stretch of water, and both take you to a clear, beautiful, blue, natural spring. We’ve done both, and the 4 mile stretch is great for adults while the 1 mile is easier for kids and those who may tire easily. At the spring itself, you’ll find plenty of space to pull your kayak out of the water, explore the spring, swim, and rope swing into the blue hole. As beautiful as the spring is above water, it’s even more spectacular underwater! If you’ve never been to one of the FL natural springs, highly recommend visiting this one.
Hannah H — Google review
One of my favorite places to go outside and just be. I am 54 and I have no problems navigating myself down the cypress. The staff is super friendly and answers all my questions. The water is gorgeous! Take a trash bag and please dont liter. It's too pretty to spoil. I have been 3 time now and I will go back!
Valerie's W — Google review
Very easy to book. Good communication before the event. Great service. Everyone was kind and quick to help. Great trip to the spring and to the first pickup point. The spring was clean and nice. They had picnic tables under a tarp to wait. It was a great trip.

Falling Waters State Park Campground

Campground
Nature & Parks
Scenic state park & hiking area featuring a waterfall, sinkholes, campsites & a small lake.
Well kept campsites, spaced out well and it is a relatively small campground. Bathrooms kept clean. Dump station easily accessed. Beautiful walk to the lake and then a boardwalk to the falls. No rain when we were there, so falls were trickling.
Constance M — Google review
We camped here two night June 2025. Nice small campground, 24 sites water/electric $18 with fees it was close to $30 night. Two hiking trails, swimming area and the water falls. Discount for Florida seniors. Good TMobile service.
Jerry L — Google review
Love this park... 24 spacious sites ..rv. and tent..fire rings, water and electric ..separate place to dump tanks. Beautiful falls and lake. A nice hike Handicap accessible Large clean bathrooms. Nice hot showers and very clean. Staff is friendly
Julie F — Google review
We arrived after 5pm and had to self check-in, which wasn't a difficult process. The campground is small and quiet. Most of the campsites are nicely shaded. Fire rings, picnic tables, water & electric provided. Our site was level and clean.
Alison W — Google review
Spent one night. Enjoyed the hike to the waterfall. Part of the trails is closed off due to rotting wood on the board walk. There is another path you can take we just had to find it the hard way. My other gripe is that the trails to the bathroom are all linked to campsites, if you are staying at a campsite on the other side the road you have to walk through someone's site to get to the trail. Other than that the park was clean. I would stay again if traveling through the area.
John T — Google review
Nice clean wee kept small state park. Campsites are uncrowded and most are well shaded by tall pines mixed with various hardwoods. Bathhouse is modern and clean, even on a Saturday evening ( kind of a rarity). Also, there were six or so unoccupied sites; road warriors may find it easy to drift in since not far from I-10. This is our third visit, we will be back again.
Steve M — Google review
Really cool looking waterfall and nice place to camp out at. Has a handicap ramp that leads to the waterfall. Small area roped off to go swimming also.

Perfect weather, surprisingly for this time of year. No bugs. Water and electricity on a cute campsite with deer and wildlife galore.

Seacrest Wolf Preserve

We had the best experience. And the tour guide goes all over what you should look out for before you enter each area where the wolves roam around. It was the best experience I’ve had petting the wolves. My favorites were Apache a gray wolf and Maverick an arctic wolf but still loved all the wolves there. It was so fun petting them and experiencing them howling in front of you.
Vicky H — Google review
A visit at the Seacrest Wolf Preserve turned out to be more than I could imagine. The staff gave my husband & I the complete background on Seacrest & the preserve beginning & how it has developed. They are completely self funded. Any contributions are greatly appreciated. My favorite was a wolf named Maverick who lived up to his name. These are not pets but residents of the preserve taken care of by knowledgeable loving staff & volunteers. Look them up & set a date for a visit. Well worth it. A memory to last a lifetime.
Margaret C — Google review
Wished I had gotten more up close time with the wolves, but theyre wild animals so don't set your expectations too high! Over all was a magical experience. The wolves are sweet babies and the staff is even sweeter. Small animal experience was amazing too! Definitely spend the extra 5 for the special photo opportunity also, trust me, its worth it.
Theodora C — Google review
Having always loved wolves and then discovering that Seacrest Wolf Preserve was close to me was a blessing. My wife and I took a VIP tour yesterday and were thrilled to be in three different enclosures with timber wolves. Being able to scratch and pet them and even receive multiple kisses made me very happy. Assisting us on our tour was the preserve’s vet and another person who furnished us with much information on the wolves’ care, environment and more that embellished our trip. We can’t say enough about this wonderful experience and encourage all wolf lovers to plan trips there as soon as possible.
George G — Google review
Phenomenal experience at Seacrest Wolf Preserve! Amazing staff and the sweetest wolves! Beautiful and playful wolves who are clearly well taken care of, an overall great time and unforgettable experience! Would absolutely love to come back!
Julia H — Google review
A worthwhile experience. No you dont get to touch every wolf, no you may not get loved on by them.. they don’t march them out on leashes. They are wild animals and go to whoever they feel like. Getting to see them acting naturally is the best part. Never realized how derpy they can be. 😂 would definitely go back. The tour leaders are very knowledgeable and give a pile of information throughout.
Ashley M — Google review
My husband and I had a fantastic time yesterday. I had wanted to take my husband there for years. He loves wolves. We did the VIP experience and it was fantastic! The staff were very informative, excellent, and kind! The facility is very well run and the wolves were very happy and healthy! At first, I thought I might be nervous about getting that close to a wolf but I wasn't at all. The wolves really seem to enjoy the attention. They love to be scratched and rubbed. They also love to give you a ton of wolf kisses. We had a lot of pictures taken by the staff that we can treasure! I loved the whole experience and I know my husband was thrilled by it all! If you have a chance to go,you will love it.
Kelly C — Google review
I found Seacrest through my girlfriend at work who has donated to them. I was looking for something to do on my drive back home while on vacation. I am so happy the tour was available. It is crystal clear from the moment you drive onto the property that the animals are the top priority and well loved and cared for. Their safety and well-being came before anything and it was amazing to see. As for the experience itself, AMAZING. We were able to go into the enclosures with several wolves, howl :) and actually be hands on and pet them. Be prepared to be covered in kisses and rubbed on and loved right back. We were also able to hold and pet smaller animals as well. Skunks, a raccoon and a sweet little opossum. The staff was kind, knowledgeable, and in love with both their jobs and their animals. This will absolutely be a trip I will repeat.

Lizard Landing Camp

This campground is my favorite place to go camping. The owners have worked so hard to make this a fun relaxing place to go. Grounds are exceptionally kept and they offer full hookups on every lot for your RV. Everyone is always friendly and easy to talk to. Pool and clubhouse are very nice and we maintain. Pot luck dinners on Saturday night. You guys have a great campground. Thanks for all you do to make it the perfect camping getaway for me
Ronnie R — Google review
We spent the weekend it is very nice secluded camp, the staff could not have been nicer. I have stayed at many campgrounds and this one is one of the best. They have a very nice going for, nice outdoor area, and the camper/RV sites are well done, good power, good water and sewer. It is not a big party camp and the crowd was much more quiet and Saturday night potluck was a joy. We will definitely be going back again.
Delton S — Google review
I have been camping for years, and i have been to many camp grounds, but this one really set it's self above everyone. As soon as I got there The owners made me feel very welcome. Gregg made sure I had a really good spot to set up my tent. After I got all settled in, I walked up the club house and was introduced to some of the other campers. No one was rude, or made me feel like i was a outsider. Everyone at the camp group visitor and owners alike made me feel like for the first time in my life I could be myself and have fun. The weather was wonderful as well, even though the first day was rainy it was still very pleasant and the rain helped you sleep well. The sun and the breezes made beginning and the pool just the place to go. If you didn't want to be by the pool you could sit ob the deck and just chill out. I opted for beginning pool side and had a great time even though i got myself sun burned. NO amount of spf can help if you sit out in the sun to long. The pool its self was great. I had never been in salt water pool and I loved it. It was just cool enough to help against the heat but warm enough to enjoy it anytime day or night. The location was awesome, i need to get some things from the little of Columbia AL near buy and it was very nice . The people and shop owners were all very friendly. They told me about different things in the area and where honestly nice. I couldn't find a fake smile from a single one. I even heard a couple of good jokes from one of the ladies from the gas station i visited . It isn't far from the Florida state line and only a couple of hours from Panama city and the beach which was great fun even in the off time i was there. I got a couple of eye sore shirts and enjoyed the beach to some degree. But there was a couple of a draw backs to my time there. One my cell phone didn't really work at the camp site (Thanks t-mobile I will be dropping you as soon as I can!). The supervisor cats really didn't seem to like dog guest the much. (even thought I loved petting every one of them.) But over all I loved this camp ground and i am working on my next trip to go down as soon as i can.
Chauncey H — Google review
A very nice little place to visit. Greg and Les are always willing to show their hospitality and insure that your stay is a wonderful experience. Very nice pool, Great hospitality, and fun fellowship, what more can you ask for? 5 STARS!
David B — Google review
Lizard Landing is ran by despicable people. They are usually drunk by 9 am. They are so greedy for money, they think the campers are ignorant and do not know how to read the electric meters. Double charged for electricity month one. The next month, was gone for 1/2 the month, the electric bill was more than the prior month. Even with photos of the meter, the low life's tried to argue. They have no morals. Go through the mail, delivered the packages they wanted too. Kept the ones they did not. Sickening scum. Should be called carp landing campground.
Leonard S — Google review
The guys here are the best . we are members at other campgrounds like this and this one is the best in our opinion. Everyone is very friendly including the regulars . they went out of their way to help us in a time of need running from hurricane Irma. . I highly recommend this place to anyone in the community . we will definitely be back multiple times .. Thank you Guys for everything you did !!!!!

Like a home away from home. Greg and Dan are very welcoming and kind. The camp and pool are clean, private, beautiful, and not to mention you're treated with utmost respect. Surely will return!

I went for a solo kayak journey and was a bit nervous so the employees were very kind to make sure I was all set up and knew how to navigate before sending me on my way. Great customer service here. The creek and springs are gorgeous! I’d recommend going on a weekday so it’s less crowded but I’ll definitely be going again.

Always the best time but this trip was even better than the past ones. Everything was cleaned up from the storm on the river. New board walks and restrooms along the river. The paddle board was amazing and David was very nice and helpful.

I and my daughter enjoyed Kayaking. We rented their kayak and launched it jist behind their office then we paddled down and stopped by the springs. Then David picked us up and took us back to where we parked my car. We got to see all 11 springs and finished the entire course in four and a half hours. You can have the option to paddle back to the first bridge on i20 or paddle down to the second bride. We did the latter option. We will do this again with my boys this time.

This canoe rental experience was awesome from start to finish. David was super helpful, accommodating, and energetic. My family and I had the best time and I highly recommend doing this trip.

Florida Caverns State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
Underground caves offering guided tours, plus trails & freshwater springs.
We enjoyed the guided group tour ($16/ a person). It was both educational and entertaining. The cave offers variety of formations that are very interesting to explore. Some of the cave sections we explored include discovery room, wedding room, divorce and more. The tour is about an hour long and isn’t difficult walk. No food, drinks or handbags are allowed.

The trip was worth it. Affordable, full of things to see and do. We went for the caverns but was able to see the camp sites and stables. The museum and tour are a little aged but in good shape and well run. Likely we're coming back to see more.

The park is absolutely beautiful. The caverns are so interesting. My only small issue was the tour guide was terribly hard to understand. She didn't enunciate and rambled through like she'd given the speech so many times, she was bored of it. My friend and I kept asking each other what she said. Otherwise, it was a majestic experience. Planning to camp there. You can even bring your horses. Great hiking trails. Highly recommend.

Very interesting State Park. I had lots of family, especially when I was young that we visited often in Marianna, Florida. I remember going several times as a child and young adult. Now I'm 75 years old and decided it was time to revisit. Was not disappointed. Very nice museum with Three self-activated movies and very professional, accommodating cave tour guides. At 75 I made it just fine 🙂 but if you have any ambulatory concerns, maybe get more detailed information.

Amazing stop for your road trip, especially the tour guides made the visit inside the caves even better. Our tour guide Yadi provided us with good engaging content and information about the caves and facts throughout. Absolutely loved it. Will definitely recommend!
Shruti K — Google review
The park is beautiful, the caverns are amazing. Our guide was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. The colored lights are beautiful as well but I would rather photograph the caverns in the natural colors of the structures. The have a small museum, gift shop and restrooms. Detached there is a large food truck and tables.

We had a fantastic visit to Florida Caverns State Park! From the moment we arrived, the friendly gate worker made us feel welcome and ready for a great day. The parking was a breeze, which made starting our adventure stress-free. Our tour guide, Ann, was exceptionally knowledgeable and so much fun—she really brought the caverns' fascinating features to life and kept us engaged throughout the hour-long tour. The kids loved the swimming hole, which provided a great way to cool off and have some fun in the water. We also appreciated the picnic pavilions, which were perfect for enjoying a relaxed lunch after exploring. The only thing we wished for was more time inside the caverns to fully take in everything they have to offer—it's such a remarkable place, and we couldn’t get enough! Overall, a wonderful family outing with friendly staff, beautiful sights, and lots of fun activities. We can't wait to return and explore more!

Interesting and informative tour. If you want to see one of the caverns created under FDR and the New Deal this is the place for you! When we visited the temperature was around 20-30 degrees cooler then the outside temperature of 94 degrees. The tour was not too strenuous but you do have to watch your head and steps while walking through. The tour was informative, educational, and beautiful. We had a great time.

Super awesome place to rent tube's, kayaks & canoes. Everyone was so friendly & helpful. Saw alot of turtles, herons, fish, a few little ducks & even a snake! The spring was beautiful & warmer than expected. The river flowed so smooth. It was peaceful all around. 10/10 would definitely do it again!

Love Bear Paw Tubing... the whole experience so smooth and enjoyable! Parking was easy and convenient, and the pricing was very reasonable. The bus ride to the loading dock was simple and well-organized and getting our tubes was quick. Everything about the process was easy from start to finish—we had a great time!

Went Sunday. Went with two other people but it was my first. Absolutely the best. All the staff that work there and owner are extremely nice. They want to keep it clean which is so nice! Definitely will go back. The water was amazing

Went here for my besties birthday and had the BEST time! The water is absolutely BEAUTIFUL and the float was so relaxing! Thank y'all for a wonderful day!

Amazing trip!!! We float Bear Paw at least 2 times a year. Today the water was crystal clear and beautiful! Such a beautiful way to reconnect with nature and make memories with friends and family!

Weather must be in check. You want to go when the water is at a normal level. You can call ahead, they can tell you. We took our own float but their floats are way nice and have more options. Just use their floats if you can swing it. Park at the end, they shuttle you to the start. When your done and tired you are at your vehicle when you get off the water. My group had a blast. Don't litter, mkay.

We had a great time! The staff were all very friendly. The creek was absolutely beautiful, plenty of spots to stop and swim around in the water. The only part that caused us problems was when the creek turned into the river… the water was DARK, cold, deep, and filled with huge spiders. Speaking of spiders one managed to catch a ride with us causing us to flip the tube and all of our belongings (I DONT like spiders). Luckily I was able to gather our phones, ID, and keys while my husband got our shoes and cooler. Although I lost my shirt and shorts in that moment, we had a great day and will definitely be back! … I hope whoever reads this gets a laugh out of it!

5/24/24 My husband and I just went for the first time this past Friday. Patty was very pleasant while waiting on me and gave me a lot of great information. The river was very high and fast, but entering the creek first was so peaceful and calm. Even though the river looked a little intimidating, It was a perfect, beautiful day of kayaking. A shout out to the gentleman who shuttled us and who carried our kayak in for us and helped us getting in. Super nice people. I highly recommend going.

I recently visited the Jackson Blue Springs at 5461 Blue Springs Rd, in Marianna, FL. I was lucky to get in since it was closed for divers training. I did get in and took some pictures and talked to the divers and what the cave system was like. Very interesting. A very nice place to go

Excellent natural springs! The water is crystal clear and cool. We enjoyed spending the afternoon at this no frills beauty. Not a playground on site anymore but you can play some grassketball if that tickles your fancy!
Stryder S — Google review
Very well kept springs, I love the pavers around the edge and picnic tables provided. The comsessions are on grounds along with kayak and tube rentals. It was $4/person to get in. I do wish they would clean up the sea grass in the water. But the water is very clean and clear.

I loved and enjoyed my time here for the first time i went kayaking with my boyfriend and his family and it was great! they rent kayaks for 13/hr and paddle boards aswell —i just don’t know the price for those. They rent beach chairs for 5$/day and life vests as well etc. Lots of space grass to park, and entry fee is like 8$ for two people (so don’t quote me but i think it’s 4$ per person in a car idk—i recommend going on the website and looking ahead for that type of information)

We had a GREAT experience at BSSP. We saw hundreds of manatee. The state park staff make it easy to park and the grounds are well kept and maintained. If you want to see the manatee I recommend going while it is still a bit cool/cold. Once it starts warming up the manatee leave the warm springs go back out to into the open waters. We also went back a few weeks after our initial visit and took the tow hour St. John’s River boat ride and thoroughly enjoyed it! We saw 20/30 alligators from 6 inches to 16 feet. We also saw many different species of birds. It was a wonderful experience.

The center's commitment to education and conservation is evident in every aspect of their work, from the informative tours to their active involvement in wildlife rescue efforts. By supporting Bear Creek Feline Center, you are helping to ensure a brighter future for these incredible animals.

I’m still in absolute awe reflecting on my visit to Bear Creek Feline Center. The up-close interactions with their incredible cats—both big and small—were nothing short of magical. Bertie, Jim, and the entire team created an atmosphere that was not only surreal but also deeply educational and incredibly safe. Their passion and knowledge shone through in every moment, making the experience unforgettable. If you’re even remotely interested in wildlife or conservation, this is a must-see. I can’t recommend the tour highly enough—10/10—and I strongly encourage anyone to support this amazing sanctuary through donations. They’re truly doing remarkable work.

I was lucky enough to do an educational learning experience with the owner Mrs Bertie today for several hours. The big cats were beautiful and very loved can cared for! Bertie’s staff was wonderful too! They have gorgeous and large areas to live in and also have heat and air conditioned areas to enjoy. The animals are happy and well cared for. I was included in the daily feeding and it was incredible! It was the highlight of my week in Panama City Beach. I learned so much about each big cats history and how they came to be at the Sanctuary. I also learned the history of how the sanctuary came to be. Thank you again Bertie for a wonderful learning experience! If we are back in the area I’ll definitely come and volunteer for the day!
Angela A — Google review
The tour of this sanctuary was AMAZING and very educational. Hearing about the different feline breeds, and learning each cats background was eye opening. My teen really loved the up close encounters and the staff made us feel secure in each enclosure. We will definitely be back.
Mikaela T — Google review
Had a great time with Bertie and staff. Such a great place to give these animals their forever happy place. A lot are placed here after service in the tourist industry and never learned to hunt or survive outside. Without places like these they would no doubt have to be euthanized. Staff very safety conscious. We got to feed all the cats however class one (panthers, mountain lions) you can not go in cage. Beautiful animals. Some are failed pet situations or owner may have died. Athena for instance you can see enjoyed being in the bean bag chair by the 🔥 fire. Make no mistake, these are wild animals. Some from bad situations with humans. I felt very safe with the staff who were 100% spot on with safety protocols but big teeth, big claws and there is some growling, hissing etc. You can't help but appreciate how close you are to something that powerful and beautiful. I asked a lot of questions which the staff answered 🤔 so I learned a lot. Ive been a cat lover and owner most of my life but my first experience so close. I try not to be a part of any business that exploits animals for profit. This is an organization that cares for them until they pass after coming from situations like those or failed pet attempts etc. A great thing to do that's off the beaten path, for nature lovers, to learn and interact with beautiful large felines. You will never forget it! BTW that chicken followed us everywhere. From the initial safety talk she jumped up in the chair, chirping and cooing and stuck with us the whole tour. Lol the cats just wanted to have a little lick or a bite if they could. She was funny and entertaining as well. A very nice experience. If you love nature, animals especially felines you will love it. The staff even participated in a little birthday celebration🎂🎈🎉 for me as well (thanks Jaqi) and thanks for the coffee! It was a bit nippy lol. Loved it, do it, you'll love it too.

This was hands down one of the best experiences ever. Bertie, Jim, and the rest of their wonderful staff are so welcoming and very informative on each cat and their backgrounds. Not only are the people nice but the cats are just as sweet, you can tell they have been treated exceptionally well here. These people genuinely care about all of their cats and if I get the opportunity again, I will definitely be back.

This was an amazing state park and very quiet...especially on week days. I would have given it 5 stars but the campground restrooms were rarely cleaned. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon...they were dirty. They were not cleaned until Tuesday. We stayed here 13 nights and the floors were swept/mopped 1 times. Lots of hair in the showers. The toilets were randomly cleaned maybe every 2 to 3 days. This is such a nice Park, I wish they would care for their restrooms. The cabins look beautiful and have a nice lake view. We stayed in campsite #1 which was perfect. It was a little bit tight for our 35ft 5th wheel and long bed truck just because a tree. It was supposed to be a pull through site but we backed into the spot no problem. Beautiful views from the site and very quiet. Nice trail and paved road for a nice bike ride. It is 1.5 miles from the entrance to the campground so made for a nice walk. Very nice swimming area.

One of the best marked trails we've experienced! Growing up at the Lake I never truly appreciated the park and its trails. We had a great time - very dog friendly.
Misty L — Google review
This is a fair park with a top notch staff. To be brutally honest there is not hardly anything to do here other than camp. The cabins that border the lake are excellent, and seem to be in very nice quality. I have not changed in 20 years, which is kind of nice. The RV area for camping is going to go under renovation. Supposedly this winter and it does need it. Facilities are a little bear but they function and everything is well kept. Putt putt is very small and there’s not a lot of excitement with this Course but it’s nice if they have it. There is a beautiful dock behind the welcoming center that you need to go out and stand on. It is peaceful and beautiful, and offers a great view of the lake. Inside the welcome center they could not have been more friendly and polite. Highly recommend the staff he was very down to earth and super friendly. Often do a lot about all state parks.
Shawn T — Google review
What an absolutely beautiful park! It is very clean and very well maintained. They have a very clean beach area, boat ramp, a grassy/sandy area if you prefer that for launching your kayak/canoe. We kayaked a little over 4 miles going up the river and through the electrified fence (a scary experience, but it turned out well.) I was surprised to see that the water was very clear. There is a lot of grasses in the water so if you have pedal drives on your kayaks, you will probably need to stay in the channel. It's deep enough that paddling is not that hard. The bathrooms are very clean and the cottages look very clean from the outside and all the ones I saw had a screened in back porch facing the water. We are planning a multifamily camping trip later in the year when it is cooler. They have a playground, several picnic pavilions, and a mini-golf course. I didn't explore those closely but looked to be clean and well maintained. The office / visitor center was very small and did not have much in it. We didn't need anything, but sometimes something will catch our attention. There is construction occurring on the opposite side of the lake from the office/visitor center. I think they are adding more RV, primitive, and cottage camping, but I'm not certain about that. We were there on a Tuesday for about 5 hours and only saw one other person besides staff. I'm sure its much busier on the weekends. This is a beautiful, peaceful, place to visit, fish, paddle, hike, swim and explore.

Absolutely beautiful park, peaceful and serene. Clean and upkeep very good. Bathrooms spotless. The breeze coming from the river with the stunning sunsets and tranquil sunririses makes you feel so connected with Mother Earth. Upon entering we saw 21 deer , three of which were big bucks watching over the does and baby fawn. ( I couldn't take pictures, I was so surprised) I definitely recommend. It is more of a retreat for adults as there are no parks or anything for children to do. We will be back soon.

Nice park, well kept. Phil was really kind and went out of his way when we thought we had an electric problem at our site ( it all turned out fine, it was our error) Monique and Wes were also wonderful, full of information and very kind as well. We stayed on lot 19, ( only electric and water, which was fine as we only stayed 2 days). close enough to the water to have a nice view. The park was clean. The entrance to the park was really picturesque. We would stay here again.

We spent 4 days here and loved it. The campground is by Lake Seminole. The lake is steps away from the campsites. There is a boat launch there for fishing, kayaking, and boating. The restroom and showers were kept very clean, and they were air conditioned. This was a first for us, and we loved it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There are hiking and biking trails. We took advantage of both. It's a really nicely maintained campground and it was very quiet and peaceful. We had a wonderful time.

A true hidden gem, small camping area, felt private. We stayed at site 9, pull through.. It was a little warm, but it's July in Florida, so that's expected. Nice place to fish, but it's wild, so be cautious. Sunset was beautiful.

Three rivers did not disappoint as the park well well landscape and lots of nature to enjoy We did 7 miles of hiking which include seeing deer, an armadillo and a gopher tortoise home. We walked along Lake Seminole and never saw a person and just felt we stepped back in time and not even realizing we just live 2 hours away. The trails are marked clearly and well maintained. Such a great place to visit and see, want to come back for sure. Big Jim, Dawn and Dylan served us great hamburgers and was fun to see the history of the area on the walls. Loved the scratch post, although no clue how to use it 🤭 They were getting ready for a wedding and I am sure it will be a great venue for one. Will definitely be back again

This is such a cool historic place! Came here for a field trip with the kids. I didn’t catch her name but the woman who worked at the gift shop was so polite and kind to my group of littles. She taught the kids how to play a game in the gift shop. We ended up buying that game hours later before we left for the day. It’s so fun! There is a ton of history here and the kids enjoyed learning from the people at each stop. Highly suggest stopping here for a visit! Thank you to all the staff for welcoming us here.

We got there an hour early. Great idea. Paid $5 each to enter. Quaint old colonial/pioneer, type village. Did not stay long because it was cold out. Left before 7pm. There was some homemade food. Soup to die for! In a cauldron, outside over a wood fire. Hot chocolate. One home had homemade biscuits and sausage. A novelty store there, too. We left before the carolling because of the cold weather.

Torreya State Park

Camping, hiking, picnicking & bird-watching plus rare trees & plantation home tours high on a bluff.
Really cool and interesting state park. The location is extremely unique especially for the state of Florida. It’s up on a 150 foot bluff with a great view of the adjacent Apalachicola river. There’s an easily accessible hiking trail maybe two miles at most in length, that’s shady and a little bit wet in spots. You can get down close to the river and you can access it from the viewpoint behind the old Gregory home. That’s located at the very end of the park. So I would just drive straight back to there and start working your way towards the front. There is a loop trail around the outside of the park. I didn’t do that and the campsites I couldn’t check out because they were destroyed last year in one of the hurricanes. Hopefully they’ll be repaired soon and open, this looks like a great place for a long weekend. So I just made a day trip out of it lots of cool plants and views. I highly recommend it. I’ve read somewhere that it’s great to visit in the fall when the leaves change color, because of Its overall height and vantage point it’s more like being up north than anywhere else in Florida. So hopefully I can get back an update this in the coming fall later this year.

Great experience! Trails were hotter than Hades (that's Florida in the summer for you) but the trees provided plenty of shade, and the restroom with a water fill station at the picnic area helped immensely. Make sure to take a map, lots of water, wear sunscreen and long pants with socks, and get tick spray - we had a couple of critters hanging off us at the end of our hike. Check out the Gregory House (got a chuckle out of the House MD fan in our group) for directions - the ranger, Brian, was extremely helpful & informative during our tour, and pointed out spots on the trail where the titular Torreya trees were located. We most likely wouldn't have been able to find them without his help! Beautiful trees, beautiful views, and definitely worth the trip out there and the $3 for entry.

Such a beautiful state park. We just finished up a 3 day tent camping trip there. We were on site 16, which was perfect because there were neighbors only on one side and a big field leading out to the overlook on the other. Sites are really small. I made note of site 30 and 18 as the largest. There is no easy access to water for fishing. There are places to access the river by hiking but not easily as the trails are pretty advanced. There is a nice playground and horseshoe area a short walk from the campsites. The Gregory house does tours daily for $3 per person.

Laid back and fun old Florida. Small dirt road campground with a CCC building in the middle - gave a vibe of 100 years ago. Seemed in the middle of the jungle! Peaceful and quiet camping. And we loved the 10 o’clock tour of the home the next morning. Fascinating to be able to be in a river plantation designed to be able to float during floods and to hear the history of the Florida frontier days. While the roads look a little iffy, we had no problems at all in the RV with a tow. We had to unhook as the site was back in, but with the flat dirt road unhooking and re-hooking the next morning was no problem. Some of the sites are narrow and some are quite roomy. The ranger was very helpful in finding the right spot for us (he was also very nice and extremely knowledgeable about the area and the park.) We chose a site with a very large side yard and enjoyed sitting outside once we thoroughly sprayed ourselves with bug spray. If you have children, I would inspect the site before allowing them to roam. Ours was lovely with thick foliage, but had a pretty steep and unexpected drop on a trail about 12 feet off of the side yard. It was a very peaceful and lovely place with several overlooks and picnic areas. We would camp here again. (They also offer yurts, and we noticed the yurt that was occupied seemed to have very happy campers!)

My family and I spent two nights here at the campground. The park is a great place to visit if you enjoy hiking and history. We hiked some of the trails including the Weeping Ridge to the waterfall- small by any standard but still really cool to see in Florida. Be careful, there are copperhead snakes; I nearly stepped on one. The trail to the Confederate earthworks was neat to see. If you are not into hiking or history, I would probably give this park a miss. Most of the trees were destroyed in the hurricane a few years ago, so it is lower brush still with some trees. There are tours given at the plantation house at 10AM on weekdays and other times on the weekend (sorry, I didn't catch those times). We really enjoyed it and it was a bargain at $3 a person.

Torreya is easily one of my favorite state parks in Florida. There's no swimming, but the hiking and the history more than make up for it. Visit the Gregory House if nothing else, it's gorgeous, and they give a tour every day (10 am Eastern), twice a day on weekends (10 & 2). The camping is top notch as well, with facilities and such if that's what you're into, and primitive camping if it's not.

Stayed a couple nights in the Cracker Cabin & really enjoyed it. Did both hiking loops which were a good workout. There's some decent elevation and if you carry a heavy pack, you will get some good AT backpacking prep (for Florida). Torreya has interesting flora. I've seen a few snakes here (copperheads, racers, ribbon) and a gopher tortoise. Interesting birds too. We went to the Weeping Ridge waterfall & slave cemetary.

Willis Park

We stopped here for a bit to look at all of the signs and monuments. Along highway 84 there are signs calling it the “El Camino Corridor” and now I know why. There are various monuments to various veterans of several wars, one being a Confederate monument. There is also a tribute to children who lost their lives I. 1946 in what was up till then the worst loss of life in a fire I. The US the sign says. Great little town park; very clean and well kept.

Great park to take the kiddos to. So much to do! This park was really clean. Plenty of shade and a lot of big oak trees! Beautiful!

The changes that have taken place in the last 20 years have been amazing. We were able to attend a small live music concert this night. The band was staged at the gazebo. There are many new shops and renovated buildings and renovations taking place currently on the square in Bainbridge, Georgia. Stop in and pay a visit to local shops.

This is in the middle of downtown. A great tribute to American veterans & has areas to sit to enjoy the beautiful trees, plants,& decor of surrounding buildings. So worth stopping for.

Nice downtown with quaint shops, an ice cream parlor and several good restaurants. Be sure to see in Spring if you can as Summer days can be quite humid here.

This is the town square in the center of down town. The park honors different eras of those that served our country during war and a past governor. The park has lovely sitting areas and even has a time capsule!

Several coworkers have been talking about this place the past couple of months, but due to my work schedule, I never got the chance to try it out. I recently had the opportunity to try the lunch at the Golf Club of Quincy this past Wednesday and it didn't disappoint. I was so busy eating, I only took one photo. This is unlike me, because I normally take and post numerous photos during my reviews. I started out with mixed vegetables, rice, ox tails, and fried chicken. Needless to say, my next plate consisted of the same items. I finished up with dessert, which was banana pudding with fresh sliced strawberries on the side. Everything I tried on the buffet was delicious. I tried not to overeat during my lunch break, but I did. 😂 You'll definitely want to add this place to your favorite places like I did. I wish I took more photos and I promise I'll post more pictures on my next visit. I'm not a golfer, but I may start playing just to enjoy the buffet afterwards. Oh yeah, it only cost $18!!!! 🤤

During lunch hours they have menu or buffet "open to the public" We were traveling and saw this on "trip advisor" we have the buffet. Southern food at it's finest. I had the pleasure of meeting the chef "Betty". She definitely knows how to make collard greens, and black eyed peas. We paid $17 each, definitely give them a try.

Great Joe Lee design. Lots of hills. Seems more like North Carolina than Florida. Small greens, play for the middle of them. Grain grows to the west. Nice people, great hamburgers.

Overall a nice course. Greens have a crabgrass problem but they are obviously working on it. Had a lot of fun playing there
Bob B — Google review
This is a nice country course on a great piece of property. Hilly contours and mini-vistas keep us coming back from out of town over and over. The greens are soft and spongy, the fairways are "fair", and everything else is hard and dry.
Damon V — Google review
staff is amazing. J.C. is a worker there and was very helpful. price is good for the course.
Hayden S — Google review
I agree with the past two reviews. This COULD be a great golf course, but they must get serious about their GREENS...! They weren't bad, they were horrible...! You can't charge $40 to play and not have at least decent Greens! I will not return until I see a couple reviews that confirm that the owners have chosen to address these sadly disappointing Greens!

it was only $22 to play 9 holes and was a beautiful course highly recommend

Accidentally found this park while on a road trip. There are lots of scenic and well marked hiking trails as well as tons of wildlife.

Gave me the first taste of Florida's national scenic trail and absolutely loved it. Incredible diversity and challenge. Trails offer nice mix of shade and sun. Rain does make some portions more difficult to manuever, waterproof boots and backup socks are absolutely recommended. Cannot wait to explore other portions of this forest in the future

It was fun driving through the woods. We took the drive from Blountstown through Tate’s Hell and ended up down by Carrabelle. Relaxing piney woods, but also plenty of light off-roading opportunities for photographers and nature enthusiasts.

Love the area but those who work in the office are RUDE AND IMPOLITE . At least the women who answered for Crawfordville I reached out for details regarding Silverlake Pavilion. Crawfordville office answered finally, very rude not very competent or friendly :) she seemed very agitated at the onset of our conversation. Quickly, she let me know after chuckling and kind of laughing saying they didn't need reservations for the pavilion (1st come first serve) so I said that's great. I ignored her little chuckle, but continued to let her know that I hope I didn't have any problems with using she chuckled again when I was being serious And was gonna ask more questions about electric and water hook ups and such, but did not feel comfortable after her chuckling continued you know people are calling and it should be taken serious not laughing at someone over the phone. As a professional, someone with years of administrative experience I know that was very out of place. Furthermore, I advised her that website says closed on Saturday and Sunday for Silverlake recreation area but from my own personal knowledge , they're open on the weekends she chuckled Again and said with a strong tone "they don't have an office so i'm not sure why It would say that. "(Haha, very helpful) like lady just confirm they are open maybe ..... instead of being rude and having a haughty and nasty attitude. As if I were being ignorant in my asking, very uncomfortable conversation. I was just seeking guidance. I dislike those who use phone conversations to attempted to meaning others, as if they were ignorant it really shows what type of person you are

Hiked Florida Trail across the Apalachicola National Forest. Trail was amazing, and we saw many beautiful sites, especially along the Sopchoppy River. It was awesome to see all the old growth trees hiking through Bradwell Bay Wilderness, but it was somewhat difficult trudging through the swamp. Only complaint was lots of hunters, who were all nice, but their barking dogs were very annoying. Didn't see a lot of wildlife... probably due to the same complaint.

Mission San Luis is a fascinating re-creation of a 17th-century colonial village, offering visitors a glimpse into the intersection of Spanish and Apalachee Indian cultures. This living museum, founded by the Catholic Church in the 1600s, features costumed experts who bring to life the experiences of Spanish settlers and Native Apalachee inhabitants. Visitors can learn about church services, agricultural practices, and daily life during this historical period.
This is an excellent place to stop in Tallahassee. It has enough to do to spend the whole day, but it's also small enough to spend just an hour or two and feel like you learned something with your time. Definitely a place to bring the whole family! The young lady in the Spanish house was especially personable and fun to talk to. Unfortunately, we did not have much time as we were driving through. But as retired military, they let my daughter and I in for free. I hope to learn much more about Florida's history in places like these.

It was absolutely beautiful. I loved seeing all the buildings. It was rich with history. There were also classes for kids, a playground, zip lines for adults and children. I loved seeing the different animals, the trails and the dinosaurs made from I think car parts. We got to pet a snake as well
BoopyBunBun — Google review
It's not the kind of museum we're used to; there's a lot to see, and you can walk around and enjoy it. But I noticed that the animals need more love; the felines are very thin I don't know if it's because of its age; I think it has a lot of potential, and they could improve many things like the park, the walkways, and the environment for the animals. My family had a great afternoon. We couldn't get into the restaurant because it closed at 4, we thought it closed a little later. You can bring your snacks if you have a stroller be patient because sometimes the path is not appropriate. The dinosaur sculptures are fabulous, well worth a visit.

We've skipped this place on several visits to Tallahassee just due to time constraints but boy did it deliver when we finally made time for it. Our kids LOVED it. It's a perfect mix of history, activities, nature walks, animals and more. It's highly rated for a reason. The ropes course for kids was very cool. The adult one looks awesome but we didn't get a chance to do it this time.

Incredibly beautiful place to visit! This had so much more here than expected. Rich culture of the plantations with homes to walk through to get a glimpse of past living. The trees here are almost other worldly and felt like I was in a jungle or different country in some areas. Lots of animals to see and highly suggest coming with little kids for an adventure. The playground was really nice and food is available for purchase. Next time we will do the zip lining!

Did the tree to tree canopy tour. Soar through the cypress swamps, tree top to tree top like Tarzan and Jane (before me2 made it creepy). The full tree top rope and zip line course costs about $55 and takes about 7,200 seconds or 120 minutes or 2 hours for those who don’t do math. Michael our guide was the best. Plenty of speed and altitude to the zip lines and lots of cool obstacles to transverse. Concurring the course with the right people and energy is a game changer.

Glad we found this nice park on our trip to Tallahassee. Lots to do here including hikes, garden walks and some nice photo ops. Even had an encounter with a pretty large silk weaver spider. Apparently they are harmless so no need to worry. Keep moving throughout as we found the hiking trail that goes around the entire park (about 3 miles) when we were ready to leave. The Alligator warnings were concerning, but no different than the bear signs up north, so just stayed alert as we hiked. All in all, highly recommend this park. I would call the hike low on the difficulty scale. Also you probably could bike it as well as it was pretty flat. There was a small entrance fee to the park (~$4 per person).

the parking and map were confusing to figure out :( i spent like 20 mins trying to find parking for the trails and not for the gardens, the directions are really ambiguous on what’s a road for cars and what’s a road for walking/biking. overall there’s not really much to do here unless you pay extra to go to the gardens, but it’s nice to be in nature regardless. i saw a cool bird so it was fine

I can't complain about the weather either since I was born and raised in Florida and it beats the freezing cold. They have good academics and are well recognized, at least in my perspective and I can't see a valid reason I personally wouldn't want to go here - meaning I think it would be a great school to attend. The Florida Historic Capitol Museum, located in the iconic old capitol building on South Monroe Street, offers a journey through Florida's political history. Visitors can explore the 1902 Governors office and former chambers of the House of Representatives, Senate, and Supreme Court. The museum features a collection of artifacts, photos, and interactive exhibits that showcase the building's significance in Florida's government.
This building is beautiful and very historic. (It's a shame they replaced the one building that represents the entire state of Florida with a giant gray concrete rectangle.) But this old Capitol building is open to the public and was converted into a very well managed and informative museum. Unfortunately, though, you can't go in the dome like most other capitols.

Michele G — Google review
It is a shock to see the outside atmosphere of Tallahassee and the outside of the old capital building as it is very rundown, but they turned it into this capital museum which is being renovated on the outside so that is a good thing because it is in desperate need of that. The new capital building next to it doesn't look any better, however, and it is a shocking thing. This is my first visit to the capital area, even though I am a resident of 15 years of Florida, which is crazy thing to say. But besides the outside, don't let that get to you because the inside of the capital museum is beautiful and is highly informative and is worth seeing at least once. Be ready to read a lot and just stare at the portraits and architecture features inside it is just amazing.

Had a great time visiting this park with the family while we were in Tallahassee. It was clean, well-maintained, and made for a really nice spot to walk around and relax. Even though we went on a weekend, there was plenty of parking available, which was a pleasant surprise. The only downside is that it could really use more lighting at night—it gets pretty dark. Other than that, everything was great. I’d definitely come back for another stroll if I’m ever in town again.

We have been going to Cascades Park downtown for at least the past 4 years and love it. Our very first concert in the park! We recently decided to make Talley our home and absolutely 💯 LOVE this area of Florida! Our Golden Retriever does too! This was her first time at the park too. This dog friendly park and atmosphere is so nice. Just one of the million things to do in Tallahassee. People are very friendly and you feel safe. The park is clean and everyone keeps it that way. It is so refreshing to be able to enjoy a night in the park with music and community together without fear. Their was even law enforcement visible during the entire event patrolling calmly throughout the park in case of any emergency a community member may need assistance with. Honestly, unless you looked, you wouldn't even know they were there. It was a wonderful experience we will be looking forward to attending.

We had an excellent stay at Wildwood RV Park. The staff were so pleasant and super accommodating. They offered us a fire pit and picnic table upon arrival. They also let us get some packages and mail there and gave us a list of attractions and dining in the area. There is a very large dog park in the middle of the resort. The sites were level and spacious. The grounds were very well tended to. The park is in a super location, close to miles of walking and bike trails. We did not realize the beauty of this part of Florida! We didn’t use the laundry or showers but they looked nice. The downtown area was a quick drive from the park, and had all the amenities and restaurants you can ask for. The only” down” side that it was kinda noisy with the hotel and golf course surrounding the park, but that can’t be controlled by the staff. The park itself was tranquil. We recommend and will definitely stay again!

Nice RV park! Spacious sites with full hookups, laundry, bath house, club house, pool, and dog park. Flat monthly rate with no additional charge for electricity (a rarity in Fl it seems). Very friendly and attentive staff. They're continuing to make improvements to the park. Only negative is the entrance to get to the park. You drive through the golf parking lot and it feels tight with a big rig. Make sure to drive straight through the parking lot and DO NOT make the right hand turn when you first pull in.

Good park, we stayed for a month. There were weather challenges but the staff handled everything well. We're likely to stay again, especially if the RV park can get a better deal with the golf club.

3 months ago this was the best park in the area to stay. Now it is under new ownership and a new manager. With that said the prices have gone up even on laundry!, the “pond” at the front is a mess, the monthly rate no longer includes everything, there is no one stopping drive thru traffic, and now the pool is being opened to people who aren’t even staying here. Don’t believe the website- there is no fish in the pond and no discount for golfing. And if you use the dog park watch where you step cause no one cleans it and make sure your dog is treated as it’s infested with fleas. They do not honor any of their advertised discounts either.

Nice campground concrete & gravel sites, wifi, cable, full hook-ups, dogpark, nice pavilion, friendly staff, adjacent golf course and restaurant. Big improvement needed is better signage on US98 for turn to campground. Also when at turn you see a close golf course parking lot that appears to dead end. Not where I want to go with a class A and toad. Sign at end of lane with an arrow pointing to campground visible from US 98 would reassure RV drivers that they are not entering a dead end.

Would highly recommend this RV park. Sites are easy to access, facilities were very well maintained and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We look forward to returning when we are back in the area.

Stayed April 2018. Great prices if you have a passport america card. Pads are excellent, but lacks most other amenities. No 24hr bathrooms, no laundry, no picnic tables. A bonus if you golf is that you can golf for free with your stay.

This is a great place to bring your family. We come here every couple of years with our church youth group. It is a great place of learning and seeing marine specimens that you may never see anywhere else. The staff are always very friendly and helpful.

We drove over from St George and it was well worth the trip! Tons of touch tanks that my 3 year old really enjoyed. Lots to see and do and so many beautiful animals!

We took our 1 year old for his first visit to the Gulf Specimen Marine Lab in Panacea and it was great! There has been a lot of additions since the last time I visited (over 10 years ago). We got to watch the Nurse sharks being fed too! We really enjoyed looking at the different exhibits and especially the touch tanks! If you have not been, it is definitely worth checking out! 💯👍🎯

We love this place! One of our stops on an East 98 road trip last week. It never disappoints and this time we met Agate and adopted her! Thank you for a wonderful visit!

This is a great place to spend some time, learning about our local coastal environment and a great place for kids. The gift shop has something for everyone.

What a neat spot! Our girls (9 & 10) loved it here- the touch tanks were awesome, they both conquered fears and touched crabs and other things and we learned a lot walking around and reading all of the signs and things. The buttons to hear the sounds of wildlife were neat too, we will definitely return on our next visit

Wonderful experience! Many touch aquariums where you can safely handle a variety of crabs, starfish, hermit crabs and other underwater creatures. I would totally recommend giving this place a try if you’re a like minded animal lover. I also greatly appreciate that they rehabilitate animals here.
