Quite a lot of fun activities for the whole family. The facilities are a little tired, but still well-maintained.

Always a great experience. This year however was a little rough around the edges. I know they were rushing to open for us due to rides being down but they should have spent some extra time on the smaller stuff while waiting. The men's bathroom in the activity center was out of order and the women's up front had one not working. Also, some of the putt putt areas were under water and others were not able to be played as they were keeping your balls. But overall for as many people we had in our very large group it was a good experience.
Stacy C — Google review
Loved this place growing up, but I grew up in the late 90s and not much has changed since then. It has been well loved and could use some updates, paint, weed control. Prices are great however, and we had fun! All in all worth a visit!
Becky H — Google review
There are three mini golf courses all adequately maintained. Fun decor - castle, water falls, concrete creek that runs through the courses, etc. Staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the frog jump and rollercoaster were not staffed (not sure if they ever are). The arcade had many (seven) machines out of order. All in all, a fun way to spend a couple hours without dishing out a fortune.

This place never fails to amaze me. Matt and Sarah were awesome tour guides that made the experience that much better. My group of 4 opted for the full experience. It was a great time joking around with each other and Matt as well. I highly recommend going in the fall when the leaves are in their prime changing stages. I will definitely be back next season!
Noah H — Google review
This was our first zip line experience. My two teenage sons and wife accompanied me for a 3-4 hour tour. We had two guides who did a great job! There were zip lines, rope- bridges, and climbing ladders. It was so much fun!
Bill S — Google review
We had an amazing time for our 7 year olds birthday. We did the intro course to make sure he could handle it and he loved every second of it. Our guides Matt and Daphne were awesome and made every one feel comfortable. We will absolutely be back this summer to check out the full course.
Pete S — Google review
My husband and I both went for our first time. Absolutely the best time we have had in a while. We are older and did just fine. Our guides were patient, informative and encouraging. Thank you Phoebe and Vivian. Can’t wait to go again!!!!!
Mindy P — Google review
Shane and Savannah were really fun guides! Our 19 year old birthday girl loves adventure. We brought her & our 16 year old (who’s usually NOT looking for adventure) for their first Zip Lining experience. They both had a blast! 💥🎉👏🏻
Michelle L — Google review
We had Isaiah and Kayden as our guides and they were great. Our kids got cold feet at the last minute but they helped us out the entire time. Great experience and would definitely recommend it 👍
Bradan T — Google review
Zip Timber Lake is an amazing place to experience the thrill of zip lining. You first zip through the trees and if you opt for the High Adventure package, you even zip across the lake . The great thing about zip lining is that it can be for everyone. Zip Timber Lake is the only place you can zip line in North-East Indiana and it is definitely an incredible way to spend an afternoon!
Jacob C — Google review
I first did the intro course in the fall of 2022. My daughter wanted to go back for her 13th birthday and do the full course. We completed it today, and she had an awesome time! The staff are knowledgeable, professional, and very kind. Highly recommend!

Two-EE's Winery

Winery
Food & Drink
Wineries & Vineyards
We were drinking home to Michigan from Indianapolis and found a winery near us while driving. Probably the best winery we have stumbled upon while traveling! Amazing wines & atmosphere! We were informed about the food & wine pairing that are offered. We didn't have the time, but that gives us an excuse to come back. We are big fans of pairs, so we have already made a note to come back!
Danyelle M — Google review
We have driven by the winery many times but never stopped. We decided to take a road trip to the winery yesterday. We live about 90 minutes away. It was a rainy Sunday afternoon, so we were not sure what to expect. It totally exceeded our expectations. The wine, food, and atmosphere were perfect. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Our wine guide Amanda was exceptional. She was fun, informative, and attentive. She went above and beyond but we could tell that is how she is with every customer. Amanda made the trip worth it. On a separate note, the winery is now family friendly. We will definitely be going back and bringing friends.
Dennis A — Google review
Just stopped here today! I am from Michigan and was visiting a friend. The staff is incredibly kind, the wine options are delicious, and its very lowkey/reasonably priced/and upscale, was so impressed! I am extremely excited to visit again. It was nice to be able to just pick your wine/bottle of wine, it comes in a container that keeps it cool, and sit outside in their outdoor sitting area. You also get to keep the plastic wine glasses which was a nice surprisen! Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Rachel W — Google review
The wine and atmosphere was great however the food was left a lot to be desired considering the price. The taco pizza was not good at all, and many complained about it. When we tried to return it we were given a hard time by the staff.
Jasmine S — Google review
This was the best wine tasting experience I have ever had! Before entering the tasting room, we were given a glass of the Bublee. It was a great starter from the hostess. As we entered into the tasting room, it was super relaxing, and a great all-around vibe for such a cool experience. Our wine guide, Lori (spelling), was excellent in her explanation, conversation, and suggestions. I tried The Classics, and my wife tried The Signatures. I really like sweet wines and my wife enjoys dry wines. We enjoyed the process from start to finish…swirl, sniff, sip, and snack. We walked out with eight bottles of wine. 🙂 The experience from start to finish was incredible! It felt like we were the most important people there, although there were other people around. If you have not gone, go!

Great eve with the wife. Beautiful setting, live music, Debrands chocolate, wine slushs for a change.....will be bank.
Todd M — Google review
Always a lovely time at Two-EE's. Get the wine tasting if it's your first time. Great food, service and most importantly wine. Lots to choose from. Great patio and lawn area to sit. Update: Once again, get the wine tasting!!! They change it often and it's more amazing than before. The staff is so knowledgeable and the pairings they offer now are so yummy! And the new wines are so good. Two-EE's continues to raise the bar!
India B — Google review
I've been to a few wineries but this is the first one that I've been to where you wait to be seated. It felt a little uncomfortable at first and not very welcoming. We were told by 4 different ppl, 4 different times "we'll be with you in a moment". After standing there a good 10-15 min we were seated. This is more like a restaurant style winery. Service was slow. We did enjoy ourselves once we were finally waited on and served the wine and small plates. I'm not sure that we will visit this winery again. It's a lovely building is all I have to say.

Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum

Museum
Historical landmark
Museum & gift shop dedicated to classic cars, including Auburn, Cord & Duesenberg models.
Like Stepping Into a Great Gatsby Movie! My wife and I visited the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum today, and it honestly felt like we were walking onto the set of The Great Gatsby. The whole place has this incredible 1920s-30s vibe—elegant, classy, and full of charm. The staff was super welcoming, and our host was especially friendly, which made the experience even better. The first floor is the original showroom from back in the day, and it still feels grand. The Auburn and Cord cars on display are absolutely stunning—sleek, bold, and full of character. Up on the third floor, the Gallery of Excellence showcases rare and unusual cars built right here in Indiana. Some of them were unlike anything we’d ever seen! Even if you’re not a car enthusiast, this museum is a total gem. It’s a mix of history, design, and vintage style that really transports you. If you’re anywhere near Auburn, do yourself a favor and check it out!
Raul H — Google review
What an extraordinary collection of many authentic and some very well restored automobiles that represent a unique highlight of American engineering and craftsmanship. These were completely handmade cars, much like Bentley's and Rolls-Royce's in England and in some ways, more stylish and more creative. . A real treat to be able to get up close and enjoy the rather large collection inside the original manufacturing facility and showroom. The museum has a pretty cool gift shop and all proceeds go to its maintenance and upkeep as a nonprofit institution. If you're into classic cars, then It's worth the trip. Go check it out!
D ( — Google review
This is a wonderful place to see. I had 2 hours to spend and wished i had more. These cars are works of art, a feast for the eyes with attention to details we do not have today. Seeing such beauty has an effect on your soul and your imagination. I will be going back when i can spend a whole day.
Deborah S — Google review
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the museum. There was a wonderful collection of stunning cars and information to take in. We only wish we had more time to explore and really take in the beauty of them all. If you're in the area, you should definitely visit.
Leah T — Google review
A great museum for the car lover. It's in the old Auburn Auto HQ so the restored art deco building is on display along with a great collection of cars and the history of the brands (Auburn, Cord, and Duesenberg). I would recommend the National Auto & Truck Museum which is right behind and in the old Auburn factory. It's heavy on muscle cars and International bricks but worth the stop. You can do both on 3-6hrs depending on how you like to museum.
Joe M — Google review
What a wonderful car museum. I didn’t know what to expect going in since I wasn’t so familiar with the brands, but the story of the company was fascinating. They have a shocking number of cars in the art deco building, which is something of an attraction itself, and many of the cars have their own interesting histories. The styling on these cars from the 1920s and 30s was really sharp too. It’s definitely a great spot to spend an afternoon if you like museums or cars at all.
Mateo G — Google review
This is a beautiful Museum filled with historical information of the rise and fall of one of America's premier auto manufacturers. So much to see, read and learn about America's Auto history and the beauty of the these vehicles. Interesting for women too!

National Auto & Truck Museum

Museum
Event venue
This museum displays a collection of heritage vehicles ranging from a stretch taxi to toys.
Outstanding museum. Took a group of scouts and had a wonderful tour. Very knowledgeable guides and everything from die cast cars to full size trucks.
Allen E — Google review
A last minute trip ended up being one of the most fun educational experiences ive had in a long time. The cars and trucks on display are absolutely breathtaking. The volunteers are so knowledgeable and friendly you couldn't ask for better tours! If you or your family have an interest in cars this is a stop for you.
Audrianna U — Google review
Fantastic place! $12 for NATMUS or $25 for NATMUS & A.C.D. museum is a fantastic deal either way you go. We did both and were NOT disappointed. The cars are top-level cool and hardly "out of reach" to observe, photograph, or otherwise, just don't touch! Place has a feel of being "Enthusiast" run as opposed to the A.C.D. museum which, while wonderful on its own, is clearly a "Curated" type of place. Totally understandable given the level of cars on display there. NATMUS has a feeling of home, almost like you're hanging out in your buddies awesome garage. No ropes, no white gloves, no misconceptions about who or what they are or have. It just felt "Real". Don't miss the downstairs showroom either! 15/10 would recommend, I'll go back next year to see what's made it's way in and what's been taken out. I highly recommended it, some very cool one-off and special vehicles hidden away here.
Rob Z — Google review
Nice older model cars and trucks. But lighting in some spots is bad. A few vehicles are very dusty.
Joe C — Google review
Alan loved it, he was gone 3 hours and I think he could have spent more time. The nice thing is you can stop midway, leave for lunch and return without paying another admission. I was only in the Auburn part, but the bathroom and entrance were wheelchair accessible for me.
Alan K — Google review
Had a really good time exploring this place! So many interests in one building! Speaking of the building, so much history in it of itself!! Wide variety of vehicles and automotive memorabilia under one roof. We loved the diner and filling stations!! Great collection in one place, highly recommend a visit!
Bob 8 — Google review
We had our wedding and reception at the National Truck and Auto Museum and we could not recommend this venue more! The pricing for renting the museum for an event is perfect for a conservative budget. The venue is so beautiful and unique; everyone one of our guests thoroughly enjoyed the museum as much as they did the wedding. Doug and Trish were the volunteers from the museum that hosted/coordinated our event last night and it was BEYOND our expectations. If you are looking for a budget friendly, unique, and lovingly hosted event, look no further. Thank you to everyone at NATMUS for making our special day everything we wanted and more.
Sara W — Google review
A historically significant museum in multiple ways. Worth a visit, especially for those interested in learning about the significance of Auburn, Indiana. Learn about many important vehicles and the former industry that called Indiana home. It's okay with older children, but more for adults. The show building isn't air conditioned, so best to go on a nice day.

Fort Wayne Zoo

Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
Non-profit organization
The Fort Wayne Children's Zoo is a sprawling wildlife haven with over 1,000 animals from around the globe. Visitors can embark on an adventure through various themed areas such as African Journey, Australian Adventure, and Indonesian Rainforest. The zoo offers interactive experiences like hand-feeding giraffes and observing playful capuchin monkeys at Monkey Island. Guests can also witness feeding frenzies at Sea Lion Beach and enjoy watching penguins in their pool.
A great zoo with lots to do along with seeing animals! Ropes course, train ride, river ride, and more which kids loved them all. First time I saw a ropes course with a toddler sized level which my 3.5 year old loved. It's also nice they don't charge for the adult to go with the smaller children that require supervision. We were there 11:30a-5p and still didn't get to see and do it all so definitely an all day adventure. As others have noted, go to the African area first to feed the giraffes before they get full for the day. We did not follow that advice and didn't get there until the end of the day and they weren't interested in coming over. Still beautiful to look at 😊 Buying admission tickets online in advance gets a small discount and getting the all day unlimited ride wristband is worth it if planning to do most or all of the rides.
Maiya B — Google review
Best Zoo, Best Caretakers and Best Family W environment! So worth you visit - we buy the family pass and take my granddaughters often for the best time ever. Today we rode the log boats, the train and the carousel. We were there for 3 hours today and it was crazy how few people where there - it was like we had the entire zoo to ourselves at times. (Kids are back in school, it's a Wednesday...) So it wasn't nearly as busy as usual on weekends. We had an extra special time we we were not rushed feeling like others needed to see the animals etc...
Ken B — Google review
Honestly this zoo was so amazing. It is gorgeous with super immersive enclosures and tons of green space. The staff were all extremely kind and informative. I could tell they genuinely cared about their work and the zoo itself. The animals all seemed to be very happy and we got to see so many goofy and wonderful creatures. My partner and I had a blast here and within 25 mins we were already talking about how great it was and said we would absolutely be back. There are lots of places to rest as well. I have back problems and need to sit every once in awhile and I never had problems finding a place to rest. With breaks and taking our time the whole zoo took us around 3 hours to explore. It was excellent and I can't wait to go back someday. ☺️
Shelby C — Google review
Been a member here for 11 years now. I take the kiddos to the Zoo atleast once a week. It's a fun and interactive place to take the kids whenever you feel like getting out of the house. The kids enjoy seeing the animals and running around the zoo and I like the fact the kids are exhausted afterwards and the car ride home is peaceful 😂
Thi A — Google review
Prices are relatively high, but it is a great experience for people of all ages. Staff is very friendly and informative. There are also areas where you can interact with some of the animals directly, such as feeding the giraffes and grooming the goats. Highly recommend.
Cera G — Google review
Happy animals. Knowledgeable staff. This place is a must see! The animals are quite active. The rides are subpar and not worth paying extra. Do not go pn the sky ride. It is a waste of time and you cannot see any animals. I think a warning about this would be nice as it wasted a lot of our time.
Mika P — Google review
1st time visiting, from Ohio. Was VERY ENJOYABLE! Loved the landscaping, lots of green lush vegetation, streams, small hills which were doable for us folks who have difficulty walking around larger zoos! Favorites for me were the Giraffe Feeding station, wide open areas of Savannah with the Zebra, Wildebeest, Ostrich, the Rainforest, and Stingray Bay experience. The "Sky Safari" lift, ZO&O Railroad, and Crocodile Creek Adventure Log ride were all well worth the extra money! All lasted a good amount of time compared with other zoos and VERY relaxing, much appreciated rest while viewing exhibits, nice lake, and beautiful autumn leaves changing! Amazing views from the Sky Safari lift!!!! People need to know it does not actually go near or over the animal enclosures, which the name sort of implies (I get why it shouldn't go directly over though). Very enjoyable! ALL animal of course were fascinating to watch. Habitats realistic! We got to see almost everything in 5 hours. The Alligator actually fascinated me the most, which is surprising since i don't pay much attention to them usually. It was right up front at the glass viewing window floating vertically so we could see just how large it was compared to US! The kids were standing there in awe! Loved the Red Pandas, Tigers, Monkeys, white Pelicans, and of course the new male lion, "Kiume" and his lioness "Ina". The wheel of scenarios next to their exhibit, showing how difficult it is to find and KEEP food was heart breaking but very educational!! There were 2 exhibits that made me feel a bit concerned for the animals. I'm no expert and maybe I wasn't seeing everything. First was the indoor Orangutan exhibit. Beautiful creatures sitting on the bare "trees" with no green vegetation and a cement floor. :-( Their natural habitats are rainforests, right? So I'd think they would be happier living in an area like your Rainforest exhibit! The adults looked very bored and "depressed". Hopefully their outdoor exhibit is better! My second concern was for the Serval. I only saw 1 in the enclosure, watching it a good 10 minutes just staying in one small area in front pacing back and forth, making a huffing sound-appearing like it was very stressed!! Was that because its mate wasn't around? Or was it smelling the Mongoose exhibit close by, frustrated it can't chase them? The enclosure itself didn't look large enough for Servals to stretch out and run! Is there a section the public isn't able to see? There were no zoo staff nearby to ask. I was gonna give a rating of "4" to the zoo because of these concerns but since all the other exhibits were so well done decided on "5". Also appreciated the Staff who were present being super friendly and helpful. VERY CLEAN EVERYWHERE as well! In the future would be nice if you offered a couple days a week with extended hours. When we had to leave at 5pm many of the animals were just starting to wake up and become active. Toledo zoo in Ohio, for ex, stays open until 8pm on Thursdays and Fridays, even in October. Overall, EXCELLENT, EDUCATIONAL, and FUN EXPERIENCE! Highly recommend for ALL ages!!! Thank you!

Love the Fort Wayne Zoo. We have a membership and I've been on several work outings as well, this is one of the best zoo's I know of within hours of Fort Wayne. The park nearby is also excellent.

Libraries
The Allen County Public Library - Main, located in the heart of Fort Wayne on West Washington Boulevard, is a top destination for book lovers and families alike. With an extensive collection of over 4,500,000 books, articles, and journals, it's a haven for those seeking a quiet place to read. The library offers more than just books; visitors can explore an art gallery, catch a movie at the theater, grab a bite at Dunkin Donuts or utilize the parking garage.
There's soooo much to experience at this library. They have something for everyone in the family. From a teen center to a toddler and child center. Business development center and an AMAZING historical genealogy area. Free gated parking directly across from the library with your library card.
Luis C — Google review
Great library with so many events, updates, areas you name it. You are able to find something to do for the entire family, even those who don't love to read. Very kind staff in the kids area. I really appreciate the library parking, especially handy when you come with a stroller or have many books to return it haul to your vehicle. Good clean bathrooms also.

Great library has a lot of historical things displayed. Very great customer service for someone new to the city I will recommend this location. Will visit the location again. Clean library and lots of lighting compare to the smaller locations and has extra parking in the basement something I was aware about. They have the Rolland center with history on president Lincoln . Amazing info

The Allen County Public Library is one of my favorite places in Fort Wayne. The staff is always friendly and they make you feel welcome. There’s so much to do — tons of books and movies, fun programs for all ages, and quiet spaces to read or work. It’s just a great place to spend time and discover something new!

The genealogy & historical on 2nd floor the information and staff are awesome. Staff is nice and helpful. We will be returning soon.

Lots of resources, in branch and online. Underground parking is great and free if there not too long. Elevators will take you from garage level to top floor, but you will have to transfer elevators on main level. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.
Arthur K — Google review
This is largest and most inclusive library I have ever been to. Also, they have the second largest genealogy holdings in the United States. I spend 2-5 days a week in this awesome place just enjoying the feel, looking and smell of actual books. IYKYK
Walter W — Google review
If you had to say the Top 10 treasured places in Fort Wayne, this would have to be one of them. Maybe number 1. The library has an art gallery, a movie theater, food as Dunkin donuts, a parking garage, and BOOKS; oh did I mention one of the best genealogy sections in the nation. There are whole towns in Indiana that have less interesting things than this single block in the summit city. My sister needed a movie and apparently this library has it. The library is continuing force of Knowledge and stimulation in one place. Everyone should go to this place. They now have new Abraham Lincoln exhibit that is more assessable. They do curveside pick-up for books as well.

Parkview Field, a minor-league baseball stadium, not only hosts baseball games but also serves as a venue for concerts. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful view of the field from any seat, thanks to protective nets that cover most of them. In addition to numerous food stations and well-organized merchandise shops selling quality products at reasonable prices, there is a walking path and splash pad for visitors' enjoyment. During baseball games, spectators can expect classic minor league fun with contests and silly activities between innings.
Parkview Field was amazing! Such a gorgeous ballpark, and so much fun. I think the lawn section's the best part.

Parkview Field, home of the Fort Wayne TinCaps, is a great ballpark with plenty of seating and a nice layout. There’s a good variety of food options, and the picnic area makes it easy for families or groups to relax and enjoy the game. Overall, it’s a well-kept, welcoming place to catch a ballgame.

I’m not a huge sports girl but I love coming here for a Tincaps game! The place is super nice and clean, and there are so many seating options and food options. Workers are super friendly. Also important to note that on very hot days, you are allowed to bring in your own water bottles!

Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory

Nature & Parks
The Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory in Fort Wayne is a year-round tropical attraction, featuring endangered flora and educational programs. Spanning 25,000 square feet, it houses over 1,200 plants from more than 500 species, including 72 types of cacti. The conservatory boasts three distinct garden areas: the Desert Garden with thriving cacti, the Tropical Garden with lush foliage and koi ponds, and special exhibits that change with the seasons.
This conservatory was beyond beautiful. The staff are friendly, the plants are all healthy and thriving, there's multiple different rooms and areas to explore. The butterfly exhibit was very fun, too. We can't wait to visit again next time we travel to Fort Wayne!

It was such a nice experience that I recommend ! I loved the first garden we went through which was like a fairy like theme. Then we went to the tropical one and it was cool to feel the what difference! We went through a bit of the desert one but some of it was under construction.
Janneth F — Google review
I found it to be a fun trip for a low cost of admission. They have rotating exhibits of a lot of plant species (at least 100), many of which are rare and non-native. You can explore the whole place in roughly 2 hours with a steady pace (and pictures). It is a great place for a date. I suggest supporting this local conservatory yourself with your visit (I won't spoil with too many images).

This was a marvelous experience. I moved to California & only come to Fort Wayne to visit family. This was our first time going and My mom and I made the return routinely every visit 🫶🏽 it was mentally cleansing in a way.
Mynera A — Google review
I was disappointed. The plantings at the entrance are nice, but I found much of the conservatory space, especially the desert, really underwhelming and uninspiring. There were a small handful of interesting plant combinations, but I was in, out and done within 25 minutes. I’ve visited scores of botanical gardens across the country and managed public gardens for over 25 years. This one is not a destination, but if you’re a gardener visiting Fort Wayne, it may distract you for a few moments. As a botanic garden director, I’m also going to call out the management here. Aside from the wonderful young woman at the front desk, the employees were not friendly or helpful- mostly short and taciturn. Several were blasting music while working on a project atop one of the conservatory buildings, disrupting any peace and enjoyment to be found in the gardens. I don’t know of any garden that would allow this. There are gardens you return to over and over like a good book. This, for me, isn’t one.
Christian P — Google review
friendly staff, little botanical garden, surprisingly enjoy it a lot even i just stayed there for an hour. the map needs to be update as some of the plants are no longer there and some new plants added there :)
Bb J — Google review
This is an intimate, mostly indoor space, which makes it a destination for all seasons. My wife and I like taking pictures of flowers; we found many colorful subjects. The desert exhibits are being updated.
Mike T — Google review
Beautiful botanical conservatory with year round events and activities. This weekend they were highlighting The Three Rivers Orchid Society’s Orchid Show. Their first exhibit was themed “The Floor is Lava” with a platform course around botany that created a lava-like scene. Their second exhibit included orchid displays throughout the space. The conservatory is also $1 entry on Thursday evenings from 5pm to 8pm. During the summer they even have a butterfly exhibit. Great place to go for any occasion!

Nestled in Lima, Ohio, the Allen County Historical Society and Museum has been a treasure trove of local history since its establishment in 1908. This expansive museum showcases an impressive array of exhibits, including a charming log house and an elegant Victorian mansion. One standout feature is the captivating John Dillinger/Sheriff Sarber exhibit, which houses intriguing artifacts like Dillinger's jail cell and wax figure replicas that bring history to life.
Must see! With love and attention to detail arranged. Wide range of interesting topics. Nice and very helpful employees.

Had a really great time here at the museum. It was way bigger than I had anticipated and had so much to see. I came in on a time crunch and was only able to stay for about an hour so I will definitely be back to take some more time and really experience everything it had to offer.

This is far more than you'd expect of a county museum. It's multiple stories full of artifacts including a full train, World War I supply truck (that still works), ancient fire truck, and even a wagon from the 1830s that brought pioneers to Ohio.

Amazing place for the entire family! Great exhibits that my kids have enjoyed since they could walk. The children’s activity room changes monthly and offers great holiday related crafts to take home. For a donation only price this is a must for locals and anyone visiting the Lima area.

The Allen county museum is a great resource for local children. It is one of the biggest county museums in Ohio. It houses artifacts that are stunning and unbelievable. The staff was extremely helpful there is no charge for the museum but if you can please try to donate. If you contact Sarah you can set up a group tour.Once the flowers come out they also have a children’s garden right outside.

Nice museum doesn't open early well laid out exhibits bought a souvenir and a book however my concern was a tall white guy who kept following me around. A little unsettling. He even followed me outside don't know why. Maybe he worked there. Smoked a cigarette walked around till I left. Hit my car bottom out in a hole at the apron. They should fix that big crater I didn't see it.

The Temple Of Tolerance

Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Temple of Tolerance, located in Wapakoneta, is a unique man-made attraction that offers free admission with a donation box available. This unexpected gem in a residential neighborhood was envisioned by Jim Bowsher and features mazes of stone, vintage items of historical significance, and a large stone pyramid with an altar at the top. Visitors can relax and enjoy the peaceful scenery while exploring the various corners of this space.
Came across this roadside attraction while exploring Wapakoneta. I felt absolute peace walking around and discovering different parts of this man’s backyard. There were mazes of stone, interesting vintage and antique items with some historical significance, and a large stone pyramid you can walk to the top of where some kind of altar lies. Lots of seating to relax and take in the scenery. It was sparse with people at the beginning, but more people showed up so it got a little crowded. This is a beautiful refuge for all those looking to heal.

Oh my goodness, this garden is amazing! The creativity of this builder is outstanding! I could have spent hours here exploring the nooks and crannies, but it started raining. I would absolutely recommend visiting this place! (Drop some dollars in the box. The upkeep is expensive. )
Karen D — Google review
I have been interested in visiting this place for years, but was always a little intimidated to go because it is in someone's backyard. I thought it would have been awkward to just walk on to someone's property, but it's not awkward at all. You can just park on the street and walk down the driveway into the backyard and you will be amazed. There is roughly 2 acres worth of stuff, but even though it is random objects and rocks that most people would not think much of, this place is very different. Everything is set in such a way and has a meaning and purpose. I had no idea the level of Serenity I would discover here. It's not something I can explain in words, you have to visit to know what I'm talking about. I would urge anybody reading this to make the drive to see Jim's vision. My biggest regret is that I didn't get a chance to meet him before his passing, but I am confident that he is still there. You can feel him. Thank you Jim for creating an incredible experience for me that I will never forget. There is a donation box on the porch, please donate when you visit... keep Jim's Vision alive.

This place is so beautiful, it has definitely been added to since I was there last! Jim B. Was there today, got to say hi :) told him it was my husbands first time here, he smiled, and told us to enjoy our time here. Nice place to be able to come visit and look at the scenery. I took many other pictures. Just some to show for amazing review, if you go visit please have much respect for this man’s property and work of art. It’s a nice place to be able to visit! It amazing how much work he has put into this place! Can’t give him enough credit!

It’s always gorgeous here. Absolutely picturesque. I do miss being able to visit at night. I hope slight lights (cameras to catch vandalism too) can be put through to allow 3rd shifters/night owls to enjoy a night stroll through. Bless the man that started this gorgeous masterpiece.

Tbh it was a lot creepier than I anticipated. The concept is great! And I'm sure it started off cool, impactful and interesting when the artist made it, but now it's just 2 steps away from needing to be closed down. Like it feels like a cemetery and not a nice one, a creepy one. The angels and grimey rocks and gates. This place needs a rehab and it could definitely be nice and enjoyable. IF YOU WEAR SHORTS YOU WILL LEAVE WITH MOSQUITO BITES. Giving an extra star for the cute crosseyed cat that lives there

The Armstrong Air & Space Museum is a unique orb-shaped museum located in western Ohio, dedicated to inspiring visitors with the history and stories of space exploration, particularly focusing on Neil Armstrong. The museum houses an array of one-of-a-kind artifacts including an Apollo 11 moon rock, Gemini VIII spacecraft, and spacesuits. While there are limited interactive areas for younger children, it's recommended for teens and older visitors who are fascinated by the Apollo missions and lunar landings.
Ohio Pride FTW!! I don't even know where to begin about the nice things of this museum. What a humble, but spectacular mix of aviation - space history on display. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed the exhibition. I was moved when I saw a piece of the Wright flyer went to the moon through Neil. I also really enjoyed the art. Thank you.

This place was awesome! It's not big but it is full of information!! Took a couple of hrs. to walk through including a very interesting 30 minute video about half way through the self guided tour. There was a very knowledgeable employee walking around giving information about items throughout the museum. All staff was super friendly. At the end there was a very well stocked gift shop with high priced items. You could get through it a lot quicker but if you're interested in reading about everything then plan on that 2 hrs. If you're flying in as we did, it's about 10mins from the Neil Armstrong Airport.

Cozy museum featuring original artwork by kids' book illustrators, plus weekly events for children.
This is one of those treasures that you don't find every day! The art of the illustrators of children's book. You can compare the art with how it looks in the finished product. A dream for a Librarian like me! Simply amazing.

Very helpful woman gave us overview of the museum and how it worked. We enjoyed the artwork from children's books and authors, especially the Little Toot exhibit and how the author and illustrator created the series and his art. It was a very relaxing day. The gift shop was enjoyable too with a helpful employee also.

Great place with a high selection of books. We also went to their store which had a lot of books, cute stuffed animals, and paintings. The room with the pop up books was my favorite and I really enjoyed how you could read every book. Each little area had a hand statue of the author, the authors book, and one of more paintings or drawings hilighting part of the book.

Brought the Kids here for a Covid homeschool field trip. Had to schedule in advance, but was WELL WORTH IT. We ended up being the only ones there, the kids had a blast finding the art tiles in the hallway. We then received a personalized guided tour, it was amazing! I had a great time and my 3 and 7 year had a blast. The pop up book room was the coolest in my opinion. It gives a break down of how they are designed, made and processes with a ton of hands on displays. Cant believe i had never heard of it before, but a great find regardless and Free to all. They also do monthly read/draw along with authors. Pretty amazing opportunity for any kids who like art or books.

Very interesting exhibits. Extremely accommodating and knowledgeable docents. Binders of background information on the artists. Convenient free parking. Free admission to the exhibits. A wonderful day trip from Detroit. A great way for young people to get exposed to the art in children's literature. And it was great for us grandparents to see the art of the books we spend so much time reading to our little ones.

Ohio Caverns

Nature & Parks
Amusement park
35-acre park features striking limestone caverns with over 2 miles of passageways & guided tours.
My biggest concern on going to this place was if I would be too "fluffy" to get through the passage. I am also a bit claustrophobic. These two things made me very nervous. I can tell you that it is very possible to do even as a very pear shaped 280 LB person. There are the 60 stairs at the end, but they are concrete, with solid handrails and the step rise is reasonable. So if you struggle, position yourself to the back of the line, and you will have less pressure to move quickly. I found the tour guides patient and funny. I focused on taking pictures to get through it mentally. The place is lovely overall. I do find the ticket price a bit high, but I find every ticket price high lately. To be fair, it is in line with the many other attractions and museums etc. The place does allow water bottles in the cave, I wish I had realized that upfront and I was very parched at the end. If I could do it over, I would take my nicer camera. I took an older one just in case.
Eleanor M — Google review
Took my family here for the first time and we all had an amazing time. Our tour guide Dan was very knowledgeable and did a good job on the tour. My kids also enjoyed the gem mining activity. The place was nice and clean, and they really did a good job preserving the cavern.
Emil A — Google review
We've made it our mission to see all the caverns in Ohio and this is supposed to be one of the best and most colorful. The price is comparable to the other caverns (which is obnoxiously high) but we found ourselves walking out a bit underwhelmed. The tour guide was enjoyable and knowledgeable but the colors were seriously lacking for such a big claim. The formations and columns were cool and you end up going seriously deep underground but I enjoyed the self guided tours at one of the other caverns more than this tour.

We had SO much fun at the Caverns. Wonders around every corner and so incredible! Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The gift shop was spectacular and all the staff were helpful and pleasant. So blessed to have this place in Ohio. The kids also enjoyed the gem mining activity. So cool and exciting to see what they reveal in their bags. 10/10 experience. Thank you!
Tamra M — Google review
The Ohio Caverns were beautiful and worth the almost hour trip. Any longer probably unless you’re a traveling cave fanatic. Anyways with that being said the staff there is very nice and understanding my daughter bought tickets in advance but accidentally thought she for them for the weekend we decided to go. Unfortunately it was for the following week but they went a head and lets go that day instead. The tour guys are very knowledgeable as will. As for the cavern itself it is nice. But beware if you have claustrophobia really bad. I don’t recommend they will tell you how deep you are. If you are scared of the dark they will turn off the lights for a few moments so that you can see how dark it is if you were down there with no lights. But they will warn you before they turn them off. I also don’t recommend it for handicap people which need a walker, or wheelchair after all it is a cavern so there are low place and tight places and you have to climb 60 stairs to get out of the cavern. Now if you have a hard time walking after you make it out or if you are a elderly person who decided to go down with a cane they will send someone with a golf cart to take you back to the gift shop. You are allowed to take pictures with your phones with the flash on but not allowed to take video which is understandable since they do give you information about the caverns. If you can’t afford the caverns they do have a free trail of trees to adventure in and a lovely park; picnic area to eat and enjoy the view, and a nice gift shop to spend your money on for all those people who love all types of rocks yes I am talking about all you geologist. Lastly and most importantly if you are lucky to get to see the caverns please don’t touch the rock or the quartz down there there thing a have grown for thousands of years and will be there still growing even a small can take up 4,000 years to grow just that size. They are beautiful so please keep it that way so that everyone can see for future’s to come. Why I am saying this is because they showed a once beautiful peace of nature that they called a lucky stone that they used to let people touch on the way out that is now looks dirty from the oils of our human hands. So just be respectful and take photos and keep hands away.
Nena R — Google review
We were staying at Indian Lake State Park and didn’t have many plans. Saw something for the caverns so decided to make the trip down and check them out. I’m glad we did. We did both the Historic and Natural Wonders tours. If you just want to see stalagmites and stalactites the natural wonders tour is perfect. If you like history and want to learn a little more about the area and discovery of the caverns then do the combo tour, I’m glad we did both. The caverns are 54 degrees year round. It’s been in the 90’s for the past week. I took a sweatshirt on the first tour but ended up being hot so left it in the car for the second tour. The colors are really neat and have some really cool designs. The formations are always pretty as they are always so different from place to place.
Julie S — Google review
We did the nature tour and it never disappoints. Our guides were knowledgeable and their voices carried well throughout our group of around 10-12 people. My granddaughter enjoyed seeing all the formations in the caverns and wants us to take her cousins when they're in town for a visit.
Dennis A — Google review
I did both the history and natural wonder tours( recommend both) It started with the history tour and how it was discovered. There's not a lot of formations in this tour ( explained why in the tour) The natural wonder tour was amazing, each room we entered was beautiful. You will however hear the same jokes on both tours. But both guides were great

The people working in this place are an absolute treasure. Full of knowledge and positivity. The planes are great too! It's amazing to see the internals of the B-17 as the guys are working on it. The WASP exhibit was a highlight, for sure.
Ed C — Google review
It’s fairly small but solid. It’s primarily military history and not broad aviation history. There are a number of cool planes and exhibits. They do a lot of restoration here with many workers actively engaged. Parents, watch your young ones closely, there are areas where running kids may trip on items. The women’s history area was the best part in my opinion.
Thirteendays — Google review
A hidden gem for history and aviation enthusiasts. They have a small collection of aircraft and artifacts with interesting history, but the star of the show is the B-17G "Champaign Lady." This isn't a restoration. They are building a brand new aircraft with some restored original parts. The volunteers are super friendly and proud to show you every detail of what they are doing to preserve history. If you are a fan of the B-17, this museum is a must-visit destination. You won't be kept back by rope barriers like most other museums. The volunteers let you see the work being done up close and in person. I learned more about the design and construction of a B-17 in an hour than all the books and videos I've ever seen. I wish I lived closer so I could volunteer here and be a part of this most worthy endeavor.
Rob S — Google review
This is a facinating museum. It is very unique in that they are actively restoring aircraft while visitors are enjoying the aircraft and military artifacts. It is also located in a very pretty area. Friendly staff and all I have mentioned make this a must see!!!

Great museum! The people there are all very friendly and excited to tell you more about whatever you want to know. My highlight was the 1940s flight simulator that I was shown in details and allowed to fly myself. Everything is very open and one can even climb in one aircraft and sit in the cockpit.
Ann-Kathrin R — Google review
What a gem! Must see for history, flight, and as a working museum. They have a fantastic women in flight area where you can listen to real stories by WASPs. Very knowledgable and willing to answer questions and give explanations.
Kelly C — Google review
The entrance has some small displays including a car, ball and tail turrets along with an engine. This is just tintsy showing of all you will find once you walk through the interior museum. This is a live museum as they are actively restoring a B-17 Flying Fortress called Champaign Lady. Expect some loud noise while walking through the museum as the volunteers are working. There is so much memorabilia that you can get lost in it all. Outside of the actively flying B-25 Mitchell called Champaign Gal, you can walk into the DesertAir, a C-47 Skytrain. They have a couple mini-planes for your tikes to ride in too. The displays show those that actually flew in the war and the items they wore or had with them. I was totally overwhelmed by everything as there was so much history here. The plane miniatures were one of my favorites as when I was a young man I made plane models and hung them from the ceiling in my room. If the history in this museum could talk, this place would talk for decades. If you are a war historian, an aircraft buff or just want to learn more about the days grandpa flew in WWII, this is a stop for you. They have a small gift shop where you can get some shirts, jackets, coins and other trinkets. Even though it is a free museum, please make a donation! ✈️ We all want to see Champaign Lady flying again. Check their schedule as you can be a passenger on the Champaign Gal when she is flying. I missed it by a few days 😥
Daniel G — Google review
A small but free aviation museum with workers that are knowledgeable, friendly and love to answer any questions, there is a B-17 bomber that is currently being restored and is a marvel how much has been accomplished. The new hanger has even more planes to view.

Hartman Rock Garden is a restored folk-art garden created between 1932 and 1944, featuring over 250,000 stones. The garden's creator, Ben Hartman, began crafting cement objects by hand after being laid off from his job during the Great Depression. Despite its small scale, the garden is filled with intricate stone sculptures that reflect years of dedication and hard work. Visitors can enjoy the charming details and may even encounter a friendly cat on the premises.
What an amazing treasure! We happened to stumble across a post on Google for this beautiful place and knew we needed to see it and man we are sure happy we did. There is such a sweet incredible history and the time and care that was put into every precious item is incredible. I am so happy that we were able to experience getting to see this garden!

My husband and I decided this should be on Atlas Obscura! Nestled on a private property, the garden is open to the public for viewing. Creative rock scenes fill the space with plenty of photo opportunities available. Donate to show your support!

Just a small garden with lots of amazing works of rock art! It can take 10 minutes or 60, depending on how fascinated you are. Free. And they have interactive brochures for the kids.

This is a very nice place. I really enjoyed learning about Mr. Hartman. My child loved it and talked about it all day. They have a little scavenger hunt for the kids also.

For this to be in the middle of a neighborhood and actually in someone's backyard, is very neat. Literally stumbled upon it and saw the backyard full of people. Was a nice little detour when we were already a little lost.

Took my 2 young boys and we were greeted by Mary. She share with us so much great history on the rock garden. She made our experience there even more enjoyable. The boys liked checking out each exhibit and finding the small detail in each. The place is beautiful and we plan to go back!!

Free to public. Amazing amount of work and time went into this. But results are spectacular!!! These are some of sculptures. Didn't give them all away...

This is a neat place to stop and stretch your legs if you're driving by. It's free and has a lot of rock creations for such a small garden. I wouldn't drive out of my way to see this, but if you're in the area it's a nice little stop.

Frank Lloyd Wright's Westcott House

Sights & Landmarks
The Westcott House, a prairie-style home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, has been restored and transformed into a museum. The architect's emphasis on integrating nature into the living space is evident in the design, with windows strategically placed to offer views of the surrounding park. The house features a reflecting pool and showcases Wright's favorite color, Cherokee Red, on its brick patio and fabric awning. Visitors can explore the history of the house and its former occupants through informative tours led by knowledgeable guides.
We had a friend come into town for the week and used that opportunity to go see this wonderful house. It starts off with a little movie, and a tour director takes you around the home. The director was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the history and restoration of the house. The architecture of this home is neat to see and experience the genius of the design. He used sunlight to his advantage to bring light into rooms in a spiceal way. The wood working on the built-in cabinets is amazing, and the layout is very clever. Taking into consideration the age, there is no accommodation for wheelchairs. I highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in homes of this style. Our tour took about an hour and a half and was well worth the price. I am now wanting to travel to other similar homes in Ohio to continue to see this master's work.

Well restored Frank Lloyd Wright work. Reasonably priced 1.5 hour tours of the building are available almost every day at multiple times. Gift shop and parking available. Would recommend as a day trip. We had a great time and learned a lot about the house, the family, and the architect.

Fascinating Frank Lloyd Wright house. Tours are scheduled, so buy tickets online and in advance. 90 minute tour is interesting whether you are a Wright expert or this is your first tour. Plenty of details and information about him and the house. The tour is required to see inside the house. Definitely worth the price of admission.
Brad W — Google review
Incredible tour with a super knowledgeable guide. Our guide packed so much information into our 90 minute tour-it was amazing. She gave us a history of the home and really shined a spotlight on the amazing restoration work that had been done. Would highly recommend for anyone with even a passing interest in architecture or design.
Cara T — Google review
We loved it! The tour guide made the whole visit. He clearly knew a lot about the house and FLW. You can tell he really loves sharing this with people and that really made it special. The house is beautiful and lovingly restored. You really get the feel that FLW was going for in this house. The gift shop is full of all sorts of fun things. I definitely want to go back for Christmas presents! This is not handicap accessible. There are multiple sets of stairs and no elevator.

Hidden gem in a diamond in the rough city. Springfield has such a rich architectural and cultural legacy, and it shines still despite economic downturns and negative news coverage. Don’t sleep on the Westcott House! It is a magnificent experience from start to end. Our tour guide was dynamic and super knowledgeable, and kept the entire tour engaging with captivating details.
Jennifer H — Google review
Was not our first FLW tour … won’t be our last either. The docent spent over an hour and a half with our small group of 5. Very in depth tour and fascinating to hear about all the efforts (and successes) that went into renovations. Sort of a must do if you’re a fan of his style.

Very well arranged and clean experience. If you're even remotely interested in the history of this Juggernaut of a company, I highly recommend you make the trip to Marysville. Admission is free and you will need your ID but the heritage center is pretty awesome take it from me.

If you’re a Honda fan, it’s worth stopping by. It’s very clean and neat and well organized. I can’t imagine the guts, wisdom and foresight it must’ve taken Honda to decide and build a motorcycle/automotive plant in the middle of Ohio.

I truly enjoyed myself! There was so much to see when it came to Honda and Acura history, there were a lot of cars on display as well as a lot of information about how the cars are made and tested. I would rate it a 10 out of 10, definitely recommend visiting.

I thought this was pretty cool! It’s smaller than I thought it would be but it’s a nice quick little walk through to see some classics!

Great place to visit. Took my wife and I, about 90' to go through. If you enjoy Honda products you will enjoy the museum. Displays of history of Honda in America. Display of products produced from the first motocross bike to the MAX, which is made close by. Also displays of the importance of racing to Honda.

Unique museum telling the story of Honda. Free to enter. Some interesting history, and car displays. Unfortunately no factory tour available. Missed opportunity for some engineering explanation with engine cutaways, but not much description on details. Robotic factory simulation was a good display.

The Heart of Ohio Antique Center is a massive 116,000 square feet space with over 650 dealers, making it nearly impossible to see everything in just one day. Conveniently located off Interstate 70 and open 362 days a year from 9:30am-6pm, it's easily accessible for antique enthusiasts. Visitors rave about the center's vast selection of items, describing it as one of the largest they've ever seen.
This place has some of everything you could think of, and some I never imagined! It is clean and orderly! It is secure and a great place for classic jewelry! I also had a great experience speaking and being educated about the National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors! The Time Pieces were beautiful and well preserved. A great outing for shopping for unique pieces as well.

Probably the best Vendors/Peddlers and antique mall we’ve ever been to (and that’s saying something). The atmosphere was great, the employees were great and the selection was amazing. You’re Sure to find some cool pieces here, just don’t expect the prices to be great. Comparing the prices to eBay I found most were higher in the booths but you do get the item here and now, plus you’re supporting a small business. It took us exactly 3 hours to casually walk through, see everything and check out. This place was Definitely worth the drive. 😊👍🏻

Always a blast to go here. 3 major sections and a good spot to grab some food. They have everything from the collectible to eclectic to foreign and even taboo! Last time I spent 3 hours there and did not get to the middle section before they closed! Super nice and casually organized - a great place to relax or take somebody to brain dump on.

Stopped here on the way home to Indiana and absolutely loved it. Didn't even know it existed till now. Walked in and was welcomed by the staff who explained the process and gave us a map. I was only able to spend 2 hours here but could easily spend a weekend here with how large this complex was. The staff was very funny and friendly and helped me with any questions or concerns I had. I will definitely be making a trip back here.

We stopped on a whim going home to Illinois from our vaca in Ohio. First impression was huge! We only got through 2/3rds of the building definitely can takes hours to go through everything. As people have mentioned prices are on the "it's not going anywhere for a long time" side. But if you take the time you'll find something.

Warren G. Harding Presidential Sites

Historic Sites
Restored residence of President Warren Harding now a museum with presidential & personal artifacts.
On vacation in Ohio and the weather kept us inside. So we went to the Presidential Sites. Had a nice tour of the Harding home and enjoyed our visit to the Presidential Library. The tomb was quite remarkable as well. We learned a lot about a president that we didn't know a lot about. It was all done very well and highly recommend.

First of all a big shout out to the tour guide Bill . He gave us one of the best tours we have ever had . This place is a must visit please add to your bucket list . You will learn a lot about one of our presidents . This was the tenth presidential libraries I have visited. Great place to take the family well worth a trip .
BILL R — Google review
Coming off a night with very little sleep (5-10 minutes), when all I wanted to do was take a nap in the parking lot after a long day of travel, I gathered just enough energy to walk inside and say hello to the guides, which led me to a "front porch" tour that did more than wake me up. It reminded me of why I had come to the Harding house in the first place, to talk with those who could offer their own American context, to appreciate and embrace what makes this nation and its leaders so fragile, so rewarding to study, despite our many faults and falls along the way.
Jeremy L — Google review
Museum is very informative. Home has been well kept thru the years with mostly original furnishings. Tour guide was excellent and knowledgeable.
Larry T — Google review
The grounds are well kept. Since we had our dog with us we passed on the tour today of the house & museum but plan to return at a later date. We spoke with several people who had viewed both and were told it was well worth seeing.

Very nice tour and very clean museum. The tour guide we had was very informative and made the tour fun and educational for all of us. Lots to see and do. There is also a nice gift shop and clean restrooms available. There was not a JR Ranger Program for those that have asked, but hopefully they will add it as it would be a great addition.
Savannah P — Google review
This is an amazing find if you want to see and learn about history. When President Harding passed away, the nation at the time was in shock and grieved. Unfortunately, his presidency was not treated well as members of his cabinet were caught up in scandals after Hardings' death. It would've been interesting to see how he would've dealt with all that came out. The museum did a great job of explaining without trying to cover anything up. What was extremely interesting was how Harding and his wife supported the women's suffrage movement and equality for races. Considering how women were ignored or called "nags" if they spoke up in public, Harding respected his wife's opinion. Mrs. Harding was really the first First Lady to champion women athletes and other women's causes. Always a hit, the President's dog, Laddie is good for all ages! The tour of the Harding's Queen Victorian home, right next to the museum, is well worth it! Plus, the museum has spent the money to install wheelchair access for more to be able to have full access. The home is in amazing condition, and the front porch experience is very cool!
Leslie S — Google review
One of the finest guided tours I have ever experienced! Our guide of the house was excellent, giving a very interesting, detailed account of the Hardings' life and home. The museum was also extremely interesting, although we regretfully didn't arrive early enough to read all the exhibit information. If you are a true history buff I would recommend at least three hours to go on the house tour plus visit the museum, watch the movie, and peruse the gift shop. Finally, while not on the same property, the Hardings' gravestones and memorial are nearby and are also well worth the visit. All in all, we had an extremely satisfying day here!

I was in Marion for a business meeting, and decided to swing by this place since I enjoy presidential history. A very peaceful setting, with a beautiful memorial building in which Harding and his wife are buried. I enjoyed just walking the grounds and reading the signs. Looks like it would be a great place to spend a few hours, relaxing, relaxing, enjoying a picnic, or reading.

If you’re a history geek, this is a quick stop. Parking was plentiful. Beautiful memorial with historical information plaques. We were just passing through, stayed the night in Marion while on our way to NY and happened to see a former president had a memorial/grave site in the area and decided to make a quick stop early in the morning, before we continued on our journey. The site was way more impressive than I had expected—felt like it could have been in Washington DC and not in the middle of Ohio, surrounded by mostly farmland. If you’re in the area, appreciate American history, and have time, I’d recommend a visit.
Emily — Google review
This is no reflection on the president, just the memorial. Overall. The grounds are well kept and lush, the memorial itself is stunning and it's very nice to photograph. The grounds are public.
Brei C — Google review
We went on a Saturday afternoon and had the whole place to ourselves, there are two small parking lots, a paved level walk way leads you to the memorial. The marks in the marble is absolutely stunning as it makes abstract designs, also check out the metal details of the stair railings and fencing, it's a beautiful floral design.

Delaware State Park, situated in Delaware, Ohio, is a sprawling 1,700-acre natural haven just 45 minutes north of Columbus. The park offers a variety of outdoor activities such as camping, boating, fishing, and kayaking around the reservoir. Visitors can explore the forested area through trails like Mink Run trail and Briar Run trail that offer scenic views and moderate terrain.
I stayed at the campground here which was the best yet. Level paved parking & electric hook up. Cleanest bathrooms I’ve ever seen. I didn’t spend too much time in the park itself I did however complete the one looped hike & am going to comment on that. It was pretty easy, flat ground. It was beautiful because the leaves are freshly falling and giving an earthy smell. Heard lots of squirrels and birds in the woods. There is a LOT of spiders in this area - I know because I found them all over my camper and truck bed. I also happened to run into their webs with my face on the hike. It wasn’t bad, but enough to make me panic google if I was going to need medical attention if im bit. Haha, but in all seriousness it’s a simple hike in nature. Just watch those nuts the squirrels throw down- you could easily twist an ankle. Also it’s real quiet and peaceful in here. The hike can be accessed from different locations. I easily accessed from the campground.

The site we were in was swampy, probably because of a large rain recently - but it looks like it is an ongoing issue because hay had been put down over the mud, and it had been there a little while. Other than that, the site was fine. Because we got there on a Monday (5/19), we nearly had the whole place to ourselves, which was nice fir quiet and solitude. Shower / restroom facilities were clean and updated nicely.
Ethan B — Google review
We are very impressed with the campground. The campground is laid out very well, sites are large and bathroom/shower rooms are clean. The hiking trails we went on were OK. One was very muddy due to all the rain in previous days and had large fallen trees over the path in areas. The beach is very nice as well, with clean bathrooms, and a nice playground area. The dam access was closed due to construction but the park area had 2 amazing playground areas. 1 for smaller kids and 1 for bigger kids. A great area for a picnic. Brand new bathroom as well.

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is a sprawling park located about 20 miles north of downtown, showcasing a wide variety of land and sea life. With over 10,000 animals from more than 500 species across six themed areas, visitors can enjoy hands-on experiences like the tide pool and Jack Hanna's Animal Encounters Village. The zoo also offers additional attractions such as the Wilds conservation center, Zoombezi Bay water park for summer fun, and an 18-hole Safari Golf Course.
This was the coolest zoo we've been to. The rides do cost extra but there's so much to do in the zoo that you don't need it. There's so many animals and each exhibit is meticulously planned to provide a nice space for the animal. The zoo flowed well and we really enjoyed the different sections so we knew what to expect for the animals. Great zoo and a great experience.
Rachel B — Google review
The zoo itself was great. Very enjoyable and I loved the amount of space the enclosures had for the animals. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is cuz the food is outrageous. $15 for a cheeseburger, $8 for a hotdogs. It cost us $90 just for food for a small party. Definitely pack your own lunch before your visit.
Laura M — Google review
What a great time going. The last time I was here was when I was a child and how it has grown and changed is incredible. Such a diverse choice of animals from different regions of the world. Great displays touching upon conservation, education, and the impact mankind has on wildlife. Many extras with gift shops, food choices, rides, etc. Highlights were the manatee and hyena displays.
Salt S — Google review
This was our 1st time visiting the Columbus Zoo and we had a GREAT time. It was cold so a lot of animals weren't out (which was expected) but the animals were did see were awesome and their habitats were set up really nice. We will definitely visit again.
Sarah L — Google review
Definitely get there in the morning because you’re going to need A LOT of time! The zoo is massive, we got there while there was still 2 hours to closing and barely saw 25% of it! We greatly enjoyed our time nonetheless! We went on a Friday and it wasn’t crowded, the zoo was very clean and we loved how large the enclosures were for the animals. Will definitely come back if we get the chance and spend all day there!
Lacie C — Google review
Honestly this zoo wasn’t it for us. We’ve been to an array of zoos over the years and found this one just wasn’t what we had hoped for. While it was clean and the layout was simple we found that many animals were off exhibit and many sections of the zoo not accessible for different events . Our favorite part however was the polar bear exhibit. It was fantastic and the animals are truly spectacular. Our least favorite is paying for parking and general admission costs, we found it to be much higher than other zoos we’ve traveled too and found that since the lack of animals on display + cost had us uninterested in returning for another visit.
Heather J — Google review
This is my absolute favorite zoo so far. The wildlife is well taken care of. The aquarium is clean, beautiful, large, it's equally very amazing. The aquatic life is extremely happy. It seems all these animals have great space to be as close to real life as they can get in safety. I love Africa to see everything's so large. The restrooms are spotless. The employees are very kind and helpful. I can't say enough good about my experiences here. It's above in comparison to others I've been to in my surrounding areas. The gorillas have an amazing habitat as well as many other animals habitats there. I spend the night at a hotel so I can enjoy the entire zoo and take my time. I love the reptile building also. I can go on..

We had an amazing day at the Columbus Zoo. The Red Panda experience was absolutely incredible and 100% worth it. Getting to learn about these adorable animals up close was unforgettable. Tom from the Education Team was especially fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what he does. You can tell how much he cares about the animals and making the experience special for guests. Highly recommend this zoo and the animal experiences to anyone visiting Columbus!

Zoombezi Bay is a thrilling water park located next to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, offering a perfect blend of refreshing water attractions and spooky, zombie-themed experiences. The park features a giant pool, raft slides, high-speed mat races, lazy rivers, and more. In addition to its water rides, Zoombezi Bay also boasts haunted houses and scare zones for horror enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy non-water rides like the Sea Dragon roller coaster as well.
I enjoyed my time there. Kid and adult friendly. Parking only $10 and they have all day rental lockers for an affordable rate. I do recommend wearing water shoes to avoid walking barefoot on high traffic wet areas. It is first come first serve for the tubes at the lazy river but still very enjoyable. They have a “fast pass” option which I thought was nice. Drinks were a little pricey, but they do hand out water cups to make sure everyone is staying hydrated. I thought the burger and fry meal was reasonably priced. You can also bring your own food, get stamped, go out to your car and eat, and come back at no fee. All and all I will definitely go again! Super easy to get to as well!
Darion — Google review
We had a great time. We got there when the park opened and rented a 21+ lounger space on the same day, but they do advise to book in advance online. For reserved padded lounge chairs in the semi private shade, access to the wait staff and a safe large enough to fit a large shoulder bag, we felt that the $100 fee was worth it. Since a large locker is $22 already. And since we also came in from out of town, the day use of towels included with the lounge rental were a nice bonus. The staff running the bar in that area were friendly and helpful. I would also advise to go to the left side of the parking lot when you arrive for close access to the Zoombezi entrance. If you follow the masses, you are going to end up on the zoo side with a considerable walk ahead of you. Take sunscreen. If this is the one thing you forget, the standard 6oz size spray is $30 on site. 30-40oz of heavily tequila laden margaritas is cheaper than 6oz of sunscreen here.

We went on weekend and it was super crowded. They have lots of fun things for kids and plenty of seating area. There’s no shade on rides. They have separate sheds for seating but you have to reserve them and they charge a lot for those “Cabanas”. It’s worth money if you’re someone who doesn’t mind going to overcrowded places.

Cashless isn't always convenient. Especially for a young person working and having cash they can't spend or having to purchase a card to purchase some over priced and mediocre food. Field of Corn is an intriguing outdoor art installation located in Dublin, Ohio. The display features 109 larger-than-life concrete corn sculptures arranged in rows, creating a unique and unexpected sight. This quirky attraction offers visitors the opportunity to contemplate themes of agriculture, transformation, and artistic expression while providing a fun backdrop for photos. Situated just outside Columbus, it's a great stop for stretching your legs during a road trip or exploring the surrounding area.
The field was adorned with an array of corn concrete sculptures, each one an intriguing artistry that adds character to the landscape. These sculptures are truly a unique sight, and visiting them at least once in your lifetime is a must for anyone who appreciates creativity in unexpected forms. The area, known as the "cornhedge," offers a captivating environment, complemented by meticulously maintained trees that enhance its charm. Scattered throughout the space are benches, inviting visitors to pause and reflect while enjoying the artistic ambiance. Informative plaques and signage provide context and history about the sculptures and the site, enriching the experience for those who take the time to explore. Overall, the cornhedge serves not just as an exhibition of art, but also as a peaceful retreat where nature and creativity intertwine harmoniously.

Visited Field of Corn in the fall and had mixed feelings about the experience. While it’s an interesting and unique roadside attraction with a quirky charm, there’s not much to do beyond taking a few photos. The giant concrete corn sculptures are certainly a conversation starter, but we expected a bit more in terms of engagement or information about the history behind them. The park itself is well-maintained, and the open space is nice for a quick stop or a short walk. However, if you’re looking for an interactive or immersive experience, this might not be the most exciting destination. Worth a quick visit if you’re in the area, but not necessarily a must-see.

I guess this is the modern equivilent of having a big icecream cone etc on the edge of your district back in the day. Came across this is passing. Unlike the icecream cones etc, there doesn't really seem to be anything set up, old style diner, for example, to take advantage of it and there's no dedicated parking. The corn are all cobs, but lets be honest, that's what we recognise. It seems a bit art for arts sake, but well looked after and an interesting curio.

Just driving thru town and saw these giant corns! It first looked like a Halloween gathering. When Rebel and I got closer, it was a furries party. The costumes were incredible. The giant corns are ce.rnt and just fun. I

This has to be one of the more unique places I have ever visited. I had somehow heard of this place before, and when I realized it was very close to the hotel I was staying at in Dublin, Ohio, I had to go check it out. It is kind of in a big field in front of some business building. We just pulled off the side and got out and walked through it. There were about 4 other cars of people checking it out and taking pics. Nowhere else are you going to find something like this, so if you are in the area, it is worth checking out!

Shucks, where do I even start? This may be one of the corniest roadside attractions in the entire state. We went on Easter since we were passing through the area, and I've gotta say, the Easter bunny has nothing on these ears. Checking out these colossal kernels was definitely the highlight of my trip! If you're in the area and it's a nice day, pop on in and check it out.

Not sure who spent the money, but Chevy Chase would have loved this place while traveling in the family Truckster! They’re over six feet tall!

Tanger Outlets Columbus

Mentioned on

Shopping mall
Shopping
Tanger Outlets Columbus is a shopping destination that showcases numerous brand-name and designer outlet stores. Apart from the shopping experience, visitors can explore other exciting places such as Short North Arts District, Downtown Columbus, and Ohio State University while reveling in the low prices available at Tanger Outlets. The mall features a shaded play area for children, various food vendors/food trucks, and requires masks to be encouraged but not mandatory for indoor shopping.
Always fun walking around the outlet. Most of the stores are still occupied which is nice. You never know what kind of deals you will come across here. Some of the main stores are Nike, Old Navy, Under Armor, Victoria Secrets, Hey Dude, and American Eagle. There's also an Auntie Anne's if you want something to snack on.

I love this place! I save so much money, and it’s conveniently right off the highway. It’s an easy way to score expensive items for cheap. Just a heads-up—August and December usually don’t have the best deals; May tends to be the best time to shop. There’s plenty to do in Columbus, but this outlet is far superior to the crowds and prices at other malls in the area.

I shopped in Old Navy (one of the brands inside Tanger Outlets). There's a lot of options available. The clothes are trendy. Price ranges are around $50 for a decent shirt. The quality comes with it. Fo window shopping, or to pass some time, it's a great place. They have many stores here. There's also a Starbucks inside. It's quite nice to visit with friends and family. I didn't buy anything (didn't need anything), but it's a nice place to visit.

Ah, Tanger Outlets — where discounts flow stronger than the Force itself! Nearly every store was flashing “40–70% Off” signs like lightsabers calling out to my wallet. From sporty finds at Nike and Under Armour to cozy hoodies at GAP and stylish steals at Francesca’s, the deals were as plentiful as stormtroopers at a parade. The atmosphere was bright and clean, with friendly staff and well-organized displays. But heed this Jedi’s warning: if you bring your wife and young Padawan along, your credits may vanish faster than a TIE fighter in hyperspace. Each “just one more store” turned into a galactic mission of bag-carrying proportions. Still, totally worth it. Great selection, unbeatable prices, and plenty of places to refuel between battles with the sale racks. The Force of savings is strong here — just remember, self-control is not included in the discount!

Tanger Columbus is now one of my favorite Shopping Outlets I look forward to going to for great deals. My first shop was Adidas. When entering I was greeted with a delightful smile. Good afternoon, welcome to Adidas, is there anything you’re interested in? I shared my interest. The Customer Service Rep then introduced herself, my name is Maura, and I am confident that we have what you’re looking for. Honestly, I would have completed my purchase at the first rack and other racks in that area. But Maura made sure I explored other options and that Adidas has two logos, both known Worldwide. Understood, the different sales are currently available 50%, 40%. Make sure my size was available and check out the different colors. Maura directed me to a spacious, clean dressing room with no pins and paper all over the place. I’m like OK! I left Adidas with a smile on my face and smile in my wallet. Thank you, Maura, for a delightful shopping experience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I had limited time and only went to Clark's shoes. BUYER BEWARE!!! Upon walking into the store, the clerk said all shoes $39.95!!! (Clearly sounds incorrect, so I paid attention to that announcement). She said the same to each of the next 6-8 people who entered. I picked out two pairs and went to pay. We were taking about the area and I did not pay attention to my receipt . Got home and was charged $109. In spite of the fact that this was $30 higher, it was a good deal. However I would likely have bought only one pair. I did call and explained this to someone who said they were the manager. They said that the $39.95 was for the clearance racks. Perhaps, but that is not what she said. Then said if I was unhappy with them, I could Return to Aurora Outlet store. I guess a one hour drive is better than a two and a half hour drive to return them. (we were coming home from a trip and stopped at Rangers).

Great place to find well-known brands at real discount prices. It’s clean, well-organized, and has plenty of parking. There’s a good variety of stores, and some offer extra deals if you use the Tanger app. Perfect spot for seasonal shopping.

Trapper John's Canoe Livery

Boat Tours
Trapper John's Canoe Livery offers a variety of canoe and kayak trips on Big Darby Creek, suitable for friends and couples. They provide different trip lengths, including moonlight tours in the summer. The pricing is reasonable, and the staff is helpful. While low water levels may cause some scraping, the experience is generally relaxing and enjoyable with plenty of wildlife to see along the way.
The BEST kayak experience ever, and family owned by the kindest people!!! We parked and checked in inside their cute log cabin building where they had coffee, candles, the cutest sweatshirts, as well as some snacks and drinks to take with you on your trip. After checking in, the sweetest staff set us up with life jackets and kayaks (there are also canoes available!) before giving us a brief demonstration (we kayak a lot so didn’t need anything long). Tyler was so sweet and walked us through everything, telling us to take our time and about the spots we could stop to sun and eat lunch along the way. The river trail was the perfect amount of shaded and sunny, plenty of spots to dock, and so much wildlife to see! Emily, Nick, and Hannah welcomed us back, needless to say we were so impressed by the staff and the friendliness of the entire place. A MUST GO and perfect for a day or half day trip from Columbus!

Great place for kayaking/canoeing. I've been here a handful of times now and its always a pleasant experience. We usually canoe, it was a little over $40 for 2 us of this time, so very reasonable price in my experience. We chose the 1-2 hour trail but they told us we could stay out until 6pm. There was a spot about an hour through where you could stop if you were done. Plenty of places to dock along the way for breaks or to swim. Lots of wildlife around. There were forks in the river where there was a less and more extreme route, depending on your preference. The staff is great, friendly & helpful. We went on a Sunday this time and there were a surplus of people which was the only bad part. Other than that, I highly recommend!

Kayaking the Big Darby Creek today with Trapper John’s Canoe Livery was one of best experiences we’ve had after living nearby for 25 years. The creek was perfect for beginner kayaking, and the wildlife was abundant. Today we saw many turtles, as well as owls, Baltimore orioles, bald eagles, and quite a few belted kingfishers! The east side of the creek provided lots of shade in the morning. The staff was amazing, unloading the kayaks, getting us launched and were also there when we got to Trapper John’s after paddling downstream. An absolutely wonderful day. We will be back!!!

It was very difficult to rate this kayak rental place. As you can see from my many other posts, I try to be fair. there’s really no “physical place” or building. you just show up at a parking lot, that has an entry point and they have kayaks for you. I’m not sure if they have a building and they just can’t access it right now. then at certain points, when they are interchanging, as in kayakers are returning from a trip and then people are waiting to go out on a trip, parking becomes difficult. I am also fairly certain this is also a public access for kayaks or canoes. other than that, the staff was very friendly very informative. Explain everything to kayaks going out . making reservations Online was fairly easy. I think the prices are a little high compared to other kayak places I have rented before near Little Miami, where I got a five hour trip for the same price. And it was also nice because you went from point a to point B you know where you started and you know where you finish and then you take a bus back to the start. here you are you getting your kayak and you just paddle wherever you want. They do give you a map to follow. timewise, in regards to that map, is to be determined. You really need to keep an eye on your watch. I don’t know on how picky they are about returning exactly after whatever time you paid for, 2 hour limit or one hour limit. I do believe they have other types of longer trips that you could contract for. You’ll need to go to the website to find that out. Parking ⭐️(gets very congested at interchange) Staff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (very friendly very informative, answered all your questions) Kayaks ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Establishment—cannot review because there wasn’t any. In other pictures that I have viewed there does appear to be an actual building for trapper John’s, but for some reason they couldn’t operate out of that at time we went. Value ⭐️⭐️ (solely based on 1 or 2hr) trip

We had the best kayaking experience as beginners and all thanks to this company. Their service is so good, right from check-in, providing all the gear and their staff. The rules and professionalism made my family feel especially comfortable. Our instructor, and drivers up & back were great. Highly recommend this place for a family adventure.

Definitely coming back in the spring! I had an amazing time with my group! Great place for beginners, nature lover and first time paddlers. Plus the Cafe is extremely adorable and delicious with many options to choose from with fresh baked items. I have a new love for canoeing boat🚣‍♀️ Definitely a place for people of all sizes and very inclusive environment.

They have several options for duration/length of the trip for kayaks and canoes. Good for all ages rent or bring you own equipment. Friendly staff. Out group dragged on the bottom a bit on our trip so I recommend going when the water level is high. Overall nice spot and business.

We spent $100 just to kayak a short way for two people. At the end of our trip we had to wait for their bus to pick us up in the pouring rain. When one finally showed up there wasn’t even close to enough room for the 20 plus people waiting so we had to catch the next one. Also the driver had another customer load up everyone’s kayaks and that gentleman didn’t even get a seat on the first bus. The driver then said another bus would come back eventually. When a few of us finally called 30min later to ask if our ride was coming back because it’s right down the road and they had told us to call if there wasn’t a bus at the pickup point, a very rude lady told us we need to wait and there will be one eventually. After a total of an hour of waiting we finally got on the second bus but by that time multiple people were arguing, almost fighting, and cutting each other in our made up 30 person line to get on the next bus and out of the rain, thunder, and lighting. I will never go back. The old ownership was amazing and we never had any problems. It’s obvious the new ownership is over charging and trying to cut corners. I was really upset when we finally got back to our cars there were 3 buses not being used at all.

The Hollywood Casino Columbus in Ohio is a popular destination for those looking to have a good time. The casino has slot and video poker machines as well as blackjack tables, making it the perfect place to spend some time. The location also offers a wide range of dining options, including a steakhouse and buffet, which makes it the perfect place to catch a show or dinner.
I moved to Columbus recently and on Friday night I was bored and had no plans so I visited the casino. The have a decent poker room , and the roulette was good too. I don’t play anything else but they have plenty of options , and the atmosphere is good and the employees were good too in my personal experience.

Gorgeous exterior with ample parking. Landscape is kept up with. Lighting experience is great throughout. Gaming experience is decent. Note, when we went, there was quite a bit of downed machines. But, it was Labor Day weekend and it was busy. The slot game variety was lacking a bit. We love a variety of different slot style games. There's a lot of the digital screen games, but not a good mixture of the game types. Digital slot games seem to be on the higher end per play, with fewer sub $0.40. Food variety is nice. There's an abundance of tables. We do wish that there was black jack with a live dealer and play throughs via the digital kiosks.

I’ve went here in the past and enjoyed live music on a stage but the remodeled and put an espn area bar in you can gamble but there’s no entrainment unless it’s a ticketed event so sad also the dinner buffet is gone. It’s nice to see concerts here but the should really put an investment in and build a concert venue they have the land and space and could really draw more people. The concert area is a convention room. The casino could really use some updating

It was my wife and I's first time ever being in a casino. And HC IS NOT friendly to people who don't know what they're doing. We were there over 2 hours before someone told us that we needed cash to play slot machines. But that was only after I had to make a big spectacle because the security guard with the long dark pony tail and glasses couldn't tell me anything. When I asked for his boss, he WOULD NOT answer whether he called for help or not. He was ignorant, didn't know how to handle customers at all. I had to make a scene so SOMEBODY IN CHARGE could come address my problems. I'm appalled that the place is still in business with their employees' sorry attitudes. I won't be back. But I've been spreading the word about how shitty the staff there are. UNBELIEVABLE!!!

BEWARE!!!!! What a disaster!! Traveling the US Read about this casino Drove an extra 2 hrs to get here AND spent over an hour or more trying to get a players card The first person told us to go into the bathroom to get the internet for better service than at the desk After long frustrating period of time in the lobby and bathroom Back to the desk A Trainee helped and everything Worked!!! After another 10-15 mins --Extremely complicated process -- NO ONE knew how to put in a postal code that wasn't a ZIP code Even the Manager said we Have to have an American address I asked what they do for people that come from ANY foreign country Met with silence and blank stares We are Canadian!!!! We are heading to Vegas had have cards there and in several OTHER States but not Ohio-- first time-- A total waste of time Shocked by the total incompetence at this Casino

You definitely have to go for the fun of it cause you lose more than you ever win. It's a nice place though, I wish there were more restaurants. The restrooms are always clean, Thank you for that. Free sodas, water and coffee which is great!

They truly go above and beyond to ensure you have a great time. Plus, the food is always delicious and well-prepared. Highly recommend visiting for both the service and the food!
