Wineries & Vineyards
Laurentia Vineyard & Winery offers a unique cabin-style tasting room with a cozy stone fireplace and a terrace that provides stunning scenic views. The property is surrounded by beautiful vineyards and features a serene lake at the back. The rustic upscale interior creates a warm atmosphere, while the staff is friendly and accommodating. Visitors can also enjoy a private library downstairs for booking.
A beautiful venue. Lovely cabin style decor. Stuffed animal heads. Navajo blankets. Beautiful rest rooms. They offer a tasting program but also have selected "to go" bottled wines available to taste. We tried a couple that we enjoyed. Laurent offered a 10% discount on 6 bottles. All the to go bottles were 2021 vintage. It's a bit fruity but nice bottom. We had put a dent in our wine cellar during our vacation, so this was a nice chance to pick up some quality at good value.

Great winery in the Grand River Valley region. Can do tastings, glass or bottle. They have indoor seating/dining with at the table service. Porch and outdoor seating order at the bar (food delivered to table by number). Recommend their Cabernet Franc (has won awards) and their Estate Reisling. Grounds are lovely - great for wandering with your glass of wine. Staff knowledgeable about wines, friendly and ready with a suggestion.
Edie F — Google review
Beautiful, spacious and comfortable property! Gorgeous vineyards! Wonderful, complex and smoky Gewürztraminer 2024, that finishes with a flavor of licorice - very nice for late September! Medium body chard and a smooth and sweet Riesling. It was a bit of a dull experience- get a number for your table, order, pay at the counter and carry your own to your table. They didn’t offer any wine coaching or advice, though it was very busy. No oyster crackers for cleansing the palate in between sips, though the kitchen gave me a bowl of gourmet crackers when I asked. Overall, a very good experience and stunning views!

This destination is an experience. The food and and wine were exceptional. They will give samples and guidance with your choices as well. The atmosphere was realaxing and uplifting. They often have entertainment. Well worth the trip and a return trip.
Jeffrey B — Google review
I was lucky enough to visit Laurentia with some family and friends Friday evening. The wine, food and atmosphere were all very inviting and the staff was very attentive. My husband and I went back Saturday for dinner to enjoy the salmon and lamb chops we saw being served on Friday. Both were delicious!
Cathleen B — Google review
Use to be our favorite place in the grand river winery area. Now the wine still excellent the menu and appetizers have taken a turn for the worse. Cheese plate and board use to be top notch now it’s just ok. We ordered the ciabatta bread thinking it would come with spreads or something like it use to but nope just a piece of Aldi ciabatta bun cut in half plain no butter no spreads, nothing. If it wasn’t for the outdoor experience and wine and happy employees it would be a 1 star. This winery is food and drink so cmon now. Step it back up. Also no bottle chillers while sitting outside is pretty bad. White wine not suppose to be warm. Horrible experience. I’m disappointed with this winery. They came in to the area made a name and now just run with it. They don’t compare to the original wineries in the grand river wineries area anymore.
Bradley G — Google review
I’m posting this as we’re still waiting for my husband to get his meal… First off, if you’ve never been here, note that you will be serving yourself. Each time you want a glass of wine or an appetizer or anything like that you’ll be going and you will be waiting in a line to procure it. Based on the menu prices, I did not think that that would be the situation. The wine is fairly good, but the service is horrible. The place that I ordered said that it had prosciutto which it is the tiniest bit of prosciutto just topped on the plate. I wouldn’t even call it a part of the dish - It’s a garnish. The “ Bread service” Does not come with butter of any kind it’s a very dry ciabatta bread that could double as a weapon. My dinner is getting cold as we’re waiting for my husband. We will not be returning.
Anna K — Google review
My wife and I are from the area and were hosting my sister and brother-in-law from out of town. We wanted to try something new and stumbled upon Laurentia Winery. The property is stunning with a long entryway drive up to the main building. The grounds were beautifully kept and very inviting. The staff we encountered were very welcoming and accommodating as we originally asked to sit outside but changed our minds due to the chilly weather. I'm not a wine aficionado by any means, so all I can say is that what I ordered was pleasant. The food was delicious, from the appetizers to the mains and through the dessert. The atmosphere was very cozy and pleasurable. We would certainly recommend and will definitely be back.

Headlands Beach State Park

Nature & Parks
Public beach
Headlands Beach State Park in Mentor, Ohio boasts the state's largest beach along Lake Erie, stretching nearly a mile. The park offers a diverse experience with its sandy beach, nearby nature preserves, and architectural gems like the Wildwood Cultural Center & Park. Visitors can enjoy picnicking, swimming, birdwatching at the marshes, and exploring hiking trails. The park is popular year-round for families and individuals seeking a wholesome natural experience by the lake.
I've been coming here ever since I was a kid. It's so beautiful! The beach has a vast open feel with a short "hike" to the water. It's so open that I sometimes feel like I'm at the ocean. Shoreline is somewhat rocky (pebbley) which can make it difficult to get in the water, but I think the further west you go, the better it is. You can walk all the way up to the lighthouse. Bathrooms weren't the greatest but not disgusting. Plenty of space for kites and boomerangs and sports. I love coming here, it's beautiful and is a great place to watch the sunset too!
Gail S — Google review
Maybe we were there after storms... I dont know. I felt the sand was dirty looking. We kept getting bit by something in the sand. (maybe sand fleas...?) I did enjoy the sound of the waves hitting the shore. That made me feel like I was at the ocean... The rocks are beautiful on the sand. It does have plenty of parking. In fact, it's a LOT of parking. I wondered why there needed to be so much.
K B — Google review
We had a great beach day here. We live near Presque isle but we like to check out all the beaches up and down the coast of Lake Erie. This was about 1.5hrs from Presque Isle. It’s very similar, with picnic areas, beaches and bathhouses/bathrooms. They did not have a concession stand at the beach anymore, but they did have a food truck. We took the walk to the lighthouse. It took longer than expected but we didn’t mind. It was a nice walk with wild areas of native grasses and flowers. Some areas were roped off for nesting birds. You can’t go in the light house and they do not offer tours like ours does in Erie. Would have been nice to walk out on the pier but that was gated off. I watched people jump the fence and go out there but we weren’t going to do that. All in all, I love beach days no matter where they are so I was quite pleased with the park and beaches that day. (Went in August)
Mary P — Google review
The beach was amazing, the bathrooms were clean, fresh, and the shower and foot wash were good. The sand was so nice and the water was very clean, this is one of the most enjoyable ohio beaches ive been too. The sunset was also very pretty and relaxing. Definitely my go to beach from now on.
Kathryn W — Google review
We hiked out to the lighthouse with our toddlers. There's were lots of spots to take a break in the shade and it was absolutely beautiful! Then we walked back and enjoyed looking for rocks on the beach! It wasn't very crowded even though we visited on a Saturday.
Jennifer Y — Google review
Love this place! Always beautiful , clean beach glorious skys and views all around , people are friendly and quiet. 4/5 ☆ ( 5/5 if there were dogs allowed and there was a bit less beach walk to shore. )
Joe O — Google review
Beautiful, clean. Tons of parking for RV etc. Drive all the way to the right to the last parking lot, walk through dunes and there will be a stone wall where is gorgeous view and can see lighthouse
Lasma U — Google review
Nice beach seems to be pretty clean. Not too crowded around 4.I found 2 pieces of clear sea glass. I plan on going back early in the morning and spend a little more time to try to find more. Would recommend for a nice place to relax and enjoy some sun.

James A. Garfield National Historic Site

Mentioned on

Historical place museum
Sights & Landmarks
The James A. Garfield National Historic Site in Mentor, Ohio is a must-visit for history enthusiasts. This site offers a unique opportunity to explore the restored family home of the 20th U.S. President, James Garfield, and serves as the location of his first presidential library. Visitors can immerse themselves in the life and legacy of President Garfield through various programs and educational materials available on-site.
I am a big fan of National Park Sites and try to visit as many as I can. There is a guided tour that takes about 45-minutes, and I chose to watch the 18-minute video and look through the Museum. Whichever way you choose, you will be impressed!
Mike M — Google review
I have arrived at the visitor center around 4pm which unfortunately was too late for house tour (last one happens between 3 and 4pm), hence plan accordingly since it is a major part of experience. Still, a lot of facts can be learnt by simply carefully checking out rooms of visitor center. For example, Garfield was the last president born in simple log cabin.
Mike Z — Google review
Fantastic! I highly recommend taking the free guided tour and watching the 20 minute movie to learn more. Make sure when you arrive to let them know you would like to take the tour as a tour can only accommodate about 15-20 people.
Chele C — Google review
What a fantastic house, tour, and insight into a President and his remarkably artistically talented family. About 90% of the furnishings are original, and our ranger did an outstanding job explaining Garfield's life, cut short by an assassin, and his wife Lucretia's subsequent stewardship of the house, family, and legacy. Absolutely worth an hour of your time to take this tour!
Peter K — Google review
I learned more about President Garfield today than I ever did in school. Our Ranger tour guide was very knowledgeable and well spoken. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit
Celeste L — Google review
Great historic site! The tour guide was phenomenal, very knowledgeable and detail oriented. Well worth the time.
Mark B — Google review
Stopped by to get that National Park stamp and learn a couple things. We had our dogs so we weren’t able to do a house tour. However, we listened to the audio tour and walked the grounds, still interesting! The internet was down so the visitor center was unable to process purchases unless paying with cash, so I took away a star for that.
Tracy R — Google review
My family went on a whim while we were in the area and it was lovely! The tour guide was so knowledgeable about the house and Garfield's life! Would recommend!!

The Holden Arboretum

The Holden Arboretum is a vast 3,600-acre horticultural sanctuary that features lakes, trails, cultivated gardens, and educational programs. It offers a diverse experience throughout the seasons with vibrant spring gardens, refreshing summer forest trails, colorful fall woodlands, and serene winter woods. Designated as an Important Bird Area by the Audubon Society and boasting over 20 miles of hiking trails, it is a paradise for bird watchers, hikers, gardeners, and nature enthusiasts.
I’ve always wanted to visit. So it was a gorgeous Saturday afternoon and I went for it! Upon entering in Sperry Road, the view of the trees and land is very beautiful. The road winds around and it’s a picturesque drive to the main entrance. I didn’t realize they were having a concert, but the line went really fast. The workers at the booth entrance were very nice. He provided a map of the entire place. There’s gardens, walking/hiking trails, ponds, public restrooms, artwork, fields of flowers, trees, and bushes. They also offer a tram service too. There’s plenty of parking. There were people walking with their dogs, children, people having a picnic, It was very peaceful and just a wonderful experience. If you like flowers and plants or just want a cool place to visit, then the Holden Arboretum is the place.
Gwen P — Google review
I would recommend going at higher bloom or fall color time. The cost of admission was $21 per person (non-member). We arrived on a Sunday afternoon around 2:00 in September. Since it closes at 5:00, the cost seemed high for 3 hours (admittedly, poor planning on our part). While it's a very nice arboretum with lots of places to visit and potentially see, we were not impressed with this particular season. Nothing was in full bloom (like the rhododendron garden, of course). Fall foliage also wasn't changing yet. The canopy walk was ok, not great. I thought it would be longer. The tower provides really good views, but due to thunder, it was shut down just as I got to the top (not their fault, it's a good thing to close during a storm). I would recommend making a day of it. There are lots of hiking trails with various natural habitats. They do offer a cart tours for an extra fee. Since many trails are a hike to get to, it would have been nice to have a shuttle to drop you off closer to some sights, especially for older visitors.
Michael A — Google review
You can do everything from a short stroll on a paved path to a full on hike in the woods to a tram tour here, and you’ll see gorgeous settings in all of them. Skeleton Grove is a wonderful addition to the already spectacular fall season, and it brings the crowds, which is wonderful to see but does require patience if you’re used to visiting at a less busy time. 100% worth the drive and price of admission (although membership is the best deal, and you get in free with your membership to other botanical gardens or conservatories, too!)
Megan R — Google review
Beautiful place with both cultivated gardens and hiking trails through wooded areas and meadows. Visitor Center is nice, with a cute gift shop and yummy grab-and-go food and drinks. Tram tours are available, and paths through the garden are paved. The Emergent Tower is very cool, with spectacular views over the Arboretum (on a clear day, there's a great view to Lake Erie). The Canopy Walk is fun, and the educational signs are interesting. Overall, this is a fantastic place to visit!
Linda B — Google review
Such a unique place! It's like going on a trail walk, but slightly supervised. Gardens and native plants galore! There are parts that are more "commerical" meaning they are more landscaped and the paths are paved and well labeled with signs. The tower and skywalk have attendants who monitor the number of people on them to ensure safety. But there are also miles of gardens and paths that aren't so busy and a little more rustic. In these places there are plenty of sweet little niches built in that you can sit on a bench and enjoy some moments of quiet contemplation. Honestly, there are SO MANY beautiful memorial benches all throughout the park. There are absolutely no lack of places to sit and read or picnic or just enjoy nature.
Beth S — Google review
Absolutely beautiful. Right now they have Skeleton Cove. It's fantastic. Good for all ages. Beautiful hiking trails emergent tower to 🪜 climb. Also a canopy walk. Lots to see and do. Enjoy
Kathy M — Google review
I wish we had more time to spend at this wonderful garden. We ended up doing the tower and tree canopy! Absolutely amazing! Definitely coming back so we can walk the entire grounds. The amount of pollinators flying around was a sight to behold.
Sophia B — Google review
One of the best US arboretums based on my first visit’s impression. Variety of gardens, landscapes and features (canopy walk, Emergent Tower, etc) is stunning. It’s a pleasure to walk along numerous ponds and Corning Lake, but the best combination of gardens and pond for me is in layout of Butterfly Garden. Arboretum was created as a living memorial to Elizabeth Holden who died at the age of 20, daughter of mining magnate Albert Holden. The trust made sure that future arboretum had become a reality and was opened to public in 1937.

Nelson-Kennedy Ledges State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
Park
Scenic nature spot on 167 acres with wildlife & hiking trails through forests, cliffs & waterfalls.
Open sunrise to sunset, not "til 7". Wear GOOD shoes and bring water. No food or drink facilities, but it does have a cute picnic area. Enough parking usually, even nice days you'll find a spot. The map at the front sucks though, it's displayed opposite to the way the park is so consider that. Go 150ft to the "atrium" (big open tree area where you will see the yellow/white/red trail markers) to begin most trails. Go slightly up/left past that to start White trail to the glass bridge. Completely not for anyone disabled or handicapped (we had a broken leg with us) and may not be safe for some pets or very young children. Great for able bodied adventurers though. So much fun, really an awesome place. Scouting for a production, movie or TV show? This is an amazing natural place of wonder with great natural light, minimal human improvement, trails, caves, and unusual flora. #filmscout
Jenne R — Google review
Great area to hike and explore overall. Rocks and caves make for a cooler hike even when temps are higher. Must arrive early but the reward is beautiful hiking and a visit with the parking lot rooster. And if you love moss there are plenty to photograph 💚
Shannon J — Google review
One of the funnest places we have ever explored. I love all the caves, the waterfalls, the crazy rock formations, and the fact that trails are not even needed as you can explore everywhere. Truly an unforgettable place, very unique, and totally worth the long drive. I highly recommend visiting.
Nelson M — Google review
Nelson Ledges is a great place to spend the day and explore! Four different trails to discover, multiple boulders to climb in and out of. A new glass walkway over the valley allows you to see whats below. Great fun for all ages!
Cheyl A — Google review
Great place to swim since it is a natural spring, the water is super clean and clear. Fun cliffs to jump off of and they let you bring your kayaks. Day pass is $15. You can bring coolers , just no glass allowed. Althea's has the BEST food. I always get some to take home at the end of the day.😁
Dana S — Google review
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Nelson's Ledges Quarry Park, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the stunning Glass Bridge, which offers breathtaking views and a unique perspective of the surrounding natural beauty. From the moment I arrived at the park, I was impressed by the cleanliness and upkeep of the facilities. The park is beautifully maintained, with well-marked trails and clear signage that makes navigation easy. The restrooms were exceptionally clean, which is always a significant plus when spending time outdoors. It's evident that the staff takes pride in maintaining a welcoming environment for all visitors. The Glass Bridge itself is a marvel. Walking across it is exhilarating, as you feel both a thrill and a sense of peace while surrounded by nature. The views from the bridge are simply spectacular, making it a perfect spot for photography enthusiasts or anyone looking to soak in the beauty of the park. In addition to the bridge, the quarry park offers various activities and trails suitable for all ages and skill levels. Whether you're hiking, picnicking, or just enjoying the serene atmosphere, there's something for everyone. The staff was friendly and helpful, providing information about the park and its features. Overall, my visit to Nelson's Ledges Glass Bridge was a delightful experience. The park's cleanliness, coupled with its stunning scenery and friendly atmosphere, makes it a must-visit destination. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy a day out in nature!
Jonathan S — Google review
Glass bridge is a pretty interesting feeling to walk over. Park is beautiful, lots of beautiful rock formations and hiking opportunities. Dog friendly, people were nice.
Geoff H — Google review
The park is beautiful. My complaint is as nice as the glass walkway is, between the reflection of the sun and all the dirt on the glass you couldn’t see through it. You had to look over the edge, which was still really impressive. Bring your best hiking shoes. There are tons of roots to step over absolutely beautiful though.

Punderson State Park is a 741-acre recreational area known for its diverse activities and natural beauty. The park features a 150-acre lake, a Tudor-style manor house, family cottages, and a golf course. Visitors can enjoy camping in tent or camper lots with access to the beach, playgrounds, and scenic trails. Additionally, the park offers opportunities for water sports such as boating and fishing.
Punderson State Park is a peaceful and scenic spot, centered around a beautiful lake that’s perfect for relaxing or enjoying nature. The new bathroom facilities are clean and well-maintained, which makes visits much more comfortable. One of the highlights is the walking trail that connects directly to the historic Punderson Manor Hotel, making it easy to enjoy a meal or simply explore more of the park surroundings. It’s a great mix of natural beauty and convenience—perfect for a quiet getaway.
Amir S — Google review
Nice clean park. New roads. No boat traffic. Not so much for kids. Some good roomy full service sites. Like most state parks, some real lake front sites where you can see through the brush and get to the water would be nice, and they could cut down some more brush in general around what lake front sites they have.
Bruce B — Google review
Very nice state park. The campgrounds were peaceful, even at capacity. Not a lot of kids riding bikes in the street or dogs barking all the time. The electric and FHU sites were mostly decently sized. New FHU's were just added with new concrete pads. I'm not sure how level they are, but the rest of the park is not level, so go in with that in mind.
Heather S — Google review
Punderson State Park offers a truly immersive nature experience that makes it a fantastic destination for a quiet getaway. The extensive trail network is a major highlight, offering beautiful paths for all skill levels to explore. The campsite spots themselves were also a highlight. They are generously sized and felt quite private, with enough space to really spread out and enjoy the outdoors without feeling crowded by your neighbors. The natural setting means each spot feels like its own little nook in the forest. We did, however, have a small issue with our initial spot, as its layout and terrain prevented our RV from maneuvering. The staff's incredible customer service made all the difference; even with the busy weekend approaching, they went out of their way to find us a new, more suitable spot. Their help turned a potential negative into a positive.
Marco P — Google review
Beautiful and clean camp ground! The bathrooms were very clean, they offer laundry on site, they have clean showers, and there is so much to do here! The lake has swimming, you can rent kayaks or paddle boards, they have an archery range and pickle ball court plus hiking trails. This was such a fun camping experience and we will definitely go back. 4 stars only because the wood you can buy at the store is pretty much just 3-4 pieces of bark for $6 (the other prices in the store are really good). The other reason is that the mosquitoes were a bit overwhelming. We had 4 different mosquito preventatives going and they were just swarming us in the evening.
Jessica W — Google review
So beautiful in the fall! This state park is the nicest I’ve ever been to in Ohio- from ample well kept trails, ability to rent paddleboards, kayaks and canoes, nature programming for the kids, private camp sites…
Alyx F — Google review
We made this a stop on our day of adventure. Wanted to hike but the trails are not well marked. Ended up in the disc golf area which was also confusing. Found the beach, a no go if you dislike slimey lake bottoms. The restroom was clean and had running water so that was a plus.
Crystal B — Google review
Amazing! That is the word that describes everything about our stay... The room was fantastic. And even had a view of the lake. We were in the newer wing, with two queen beds. The room was very spacious and very clean! We ate on the patio and took advantage of the beautiful weather. We had great food, the blackened shrimp ravioli and the club sandwich... Both were very good quality and a good value! I would like to thank two employees in particular, Scott and Kayla... They both went out of their way to make us comfortable!

Cool little old town. Lots of shops (mostly for the women), plenty of restaurant choices and dessert options. Nice little town to visit for the weekend.
Jason S — Google review
This is a beautiful small town. You will want to visit when you are close by. Quaint restaurants and shops line the main street. However, most important is the Falls. The beauty of this natural creation brings joy to all people. Even though much construction is going on right now it is a unique tourist attraction.
Gale P — Google review
A quaint little town with a quaint little waterfall. The waterfall itself is small but pretty. I’m not sure it’s handicap accessible to get down closer to the fall. We stopped at the popcorn store first and enjoyed it as we sat by the falls emerged in nature.
Krista W — Google review
Such a great waterfall. Perfect parking but the GPS doesn't take you to the parking. It's near there if you search on the maps, but it's just before the bridge and it does say parking. Its behind the building and won't look like it after first but there is a lot of parking spaces. Parking is free. The steps lead you straight there. At the bottom of the steps, you can walk on the walks and get a better angle of the waterfall. Highly recommend the trip. It's downtown lots of places to stop and enjoy the area.

Beautiful and scenic locations have always been a romantic location to stop and get some popcorn or ice cream at the local candy shop directly on the falls.

We stopped her at the suggestion of a local. It’s a cute little town. They were working on the bridge and had the sidewalk closed and part of the falls damned. Not everything was open bc it was a weekday. I would stop again if we pass through this area.
Brenda S — Google review
Under perfect conditions this might be an idyllic little community with a small waterfall running through it, but not right now. They have the entire area completely destroyed with construction and the water is barely trickling through. It creates all kinds of traffic havoc and is generally unpleasant. I'm sure when they finish construction and painting and all the new woodworking that they're doing it will be beautiful again. But that is going to be many months based on the state of what I saw.

Such a charming town with a very pretty waterfall right in the middle! Don’t miss it in fall.

West Branch State Park is a popular camping and hiking destination, boasting a 2,650-acre lake with numerous forks and coves. The park's expansive meadows and woodlots offer diverse natural landscapes for visitors to explore. Boating, fishing, and swimming are popular activities on the large lake, which also features a canoe launch. Additionally, the park offers a well-maintained beach area with amenities such as restrooms, picnic tables, and play areas.
Awesome campgrounds! We had a bad site for tent camping, got rained out! But we will be at a different one next time. They have something there for everyone! A nice dog park, a disc golf park, very nice marina and sites for boat launches, public beach are with tons of parking, horsemanship area too. A really nice park and worth the visit!

Loved camping here. One of my favorite places by far. Nice big sites and the views were spectacular. I got to see the sun come up while by a fire and enjoy Gods creation! The bathrooms were clean at all times and the showers were hot! We would definitely go back when in the area again! Oh- and did I mention the Halloween decorations? They were everywhere! Way cool!

I live nearby and spend a lot of my time on and around West Branch. There's something for everyone, fishing, boating, a beach for swimming and tons of parkin. I enjoy the good scenery for riding, there's a nice campground, dog park and even equestrian riding trails. If you want a place to kick back and enjoy nature this is a good place to be.

Good little spot to climb, lots of top anchors. Great for beginners and intermittent climbers. There's a few rappel anchors and anchor practice bolts on the top back wall. Very short walk from the parking area.

We liked our site, that said do your homework not every campsites is nice. Most are not level but some are decent. They do have activities and you are not far for outside the park fun. Nice restrooms and playground. I would go back but picky on my site.
Tess D — Google review
We are a little biased as it is our home park located 30 minutes away. There are some fhu sites scattered around and the rest are electric only. The park is an older park so you will have some narrow loops and tight corners with some ditches depending on your spot. Pay attention to pad lengths as there are several short pads in the park. There is a nice boat ramp in the campground. Hosts have several activities planned on weekends. Showerhouses are super nice. There is frisbee golf and archery as well. Lake access from campsites is limited as several lake front sites have drop offs down to the water. We have att and have good wifi signals to run our smart TVs.

We needed something different to do for the day. This was a huge hit with the kids (and adults!) We went on a Monday. Water was warm, beach was clean, not overly crowded, tables, bbq, restrooms, and spray offs were available. Stunning view! We will be adding this spot to our favorites for sure!

Beautiful and clean park! The sites for camping are really nice. The bath houses are really nice. The showers are in their own private rooms and there are sinks for washing dishes.

MGM Northfield Park is a rock 'n' roll-themed venue with a lively atmosphere, offering classic American dishes and burgers. Originally built for car racing in 1934, it has evolved into one of Ohio's most popular horse racing sites, hosting over 200 harness racing nights annually. The Center Stage hosts impressive concerts, providing excellent visibility and organized staff. While the payouts may not always be the highest, visitors appreciate the wonderful atmosphere and friendly employees.
Wow, fun casino ! Went here for the first time and won $1,000 on a $2 machine. I always bet the max on any machine. We had a great time. We’ll definitely be going back. It was really clean and it had a great atmosphere.

We went to some harness horse races with friends first and had a good time there. Then we went to the casino. We had a GREAT time. Had fun playing Buffalo Slots, which are my favorite. This facility is always clean. I am so glad the Buffet is finally reopened after the pandemic, we love it. Employees are very friendly, polite & helpful. Overall an excellent place.

Easy in and out. Good sized venue. Only real complaints are the poor choice in colours for lighting(bad photos) and the extremely small, cheap folding chairs that are so uncomfortable. Staff were nice.

We were at the MGM to see the band Chicago. They put on a great concert as always. The positives of the venue were that the room was more intimate compared to an arena, and the acoustics were good. However, the seating was metal foldout chairs linked together that didn't allow for much room with your neighbor. I was expecting better for the high ticket price. And, it's probably marketing, but the entrance into the theater inside the MGM was a long single line thru the casino floor. It was a Sunday night and maybe it's a different atmosphere at other times, but as the line made it thru the colorful and brightly lit machines, all I saw were older men and women slumped at their machines with little evidence that they were enjoying it. I'm not a gambler tho, maybe it's different other times; I'd like to think so anyway.

Good place to gamble on a budget 😜 wish they had the concert in Pittsburgh it would be a little bit easier still had a good time🆒💣😁🤔

Nature & Parks
Brandywine Falls is a picturesque 65-foot waterfall nestled in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The area offers upper and lower boardwalks with viewpoints to admire the lush gorge and cascading waters. The historic Inn at Brandywine Falls, dating back to 1848, provides an elegant Greek Revival setting overlooking the falls, making it a romantic destination. Visitors can enjoy well-maintained paths surrounded by beautiful trees and immerse their feet in the shallow river trails nearby.
Friendly people working here. Clean bathrooms. Easy hiking for kids and an incredible view of the waterfall. If you know how to appreciate nature, you’ll enjoy the trees and the sky contrasting with all the green. Nature is peace.

A beautiful close-up view of the falls! You don’t need to hike—just a few steps from the parking area. I actually wanted to see the fall colors, but by November 1st, most of the leaves had already fallen.

Beautiful water fall.very pretty.cool walking/hiking trails, but wear very comfortable ahoes, bring a walking stick, plenty of water and a sweat rag.Uneven walking paths.Could be a trip and fall hazard.lots of tree roots coming up from the ground, lots of rocks, steps, stairs.NOT RECOMMENDED for people with hip, leg, knee, ankle, foot and back problems! LOTS of walking.Wearing a hat with a visor or ball cap is recommended! If you love nature and being in the woods, this is the place for you,its beautiful! There are picnic tables to sit and have lunch, shady areas and clean bathrooms.PARKING is pretty rough during peak hours, like on Holidays and weekends.Plenty to see! Dogs are more than welcome but must be on a leash. So,have a good time and enjoy yourself. It will be fun and IS worth the trip!

Amazing waterfall. There are a few paths that take you near the Falls, one in front and one above. Neither one is a very long walk. Highly recommend checking this out if you visit the park. Parking is very limited so probably better to go early, I got lucky and someone was leaving when I was looking for a spot.

This is an absolutely beautiful place! We hiked the Brandywine loop with our 2 and 4 year old. It wasn't too difficult although with toddlers it did take over an hour. They loved the waterfall and all the stairs!
Jennifer Y — Google review
The falls were in full force today after the recent rains. Brandywine Falls are a hilight to visiting the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The falls gets crowded on weekends but there were not that many people on a Friday afternoon. It is a short hike to the falls. If you go to the lower viewing platform, you need to navigate two sets of stairs, about 32 steps each. Great views from both the top and lower platform.
Steve K — Google review
It's a fun walk down and a looooong walk up. Plan for it. Took that bike path up thinking there would be less branches and roots and rocks to walk over but... up up up up up is not any easier. BTW... I'm in my 70's.

Cuyahoga Valley National Park, spanning 33,000 acres between Cleveland and Akron, offers a diverse range of outdoor activities. The park features numerous hiking trails, bike paths, and a scenic railroad for visitors to explore its stunning landscapes. With the Cuyahoga River running through it, the park provides picturesque views and opportunities to spot wildlife such as deer and bald eagles. Additionally, history enthusiasts can visit the historic Brecksville Reservation within the park's boundaries.
One of the best national parks I have visited recently. While I was looking to spend a day in Cleveland and my decision to go here was 100% worth. Please start with the visitor center and the senior volunteer Robert was simply awesome! He gave the map and guided me on where to start based on the time I have left for the day... Falls, Ledges are a must-see... Take a look at the map, photos I have attached for your reference.

There is no shortage of trails that can be combined to see new and favorite sites, long or short. There are many challenging trails as well as easier ones. Many sights can only be experienced from the park, pictures and roadside views do not do it justice.

We love this National Park and plan to return again. All the hikes were amazing and our kids absolutely loved it This National Park was surprisingly nice. We really enjoyed the Brandywine falls and the loop hike. Lots of beautiful things to view, especially this time of year with all of the colors and amazing riverwalking and Rock skipping possibilities.

Beautiful park. Amazing environment, great trails pretty much everywhere. Set aside a full day to hit a few places around the park and hike a few of the trails and it did not disappoint. Blue Hen Falls was incredible. The Ledges Trail was amazing. Brandywine Falls was beautiful. Even Kendall Lake and Beaver Marsh were really cool, saw a bunch of wildlife at them.

I’d say it’s one of the smaller national parks compared to the ones I’ve visited before, but it actually has so much to offer! From scenic falls and trails to hikes within the valley, there’s a lot packed into this place—especially beautiful during the fall season.

Enjoyed the train ride, stopped at Peninsula, saw the little town, had lunch and walked the towpath. Visited Boston Mill Visitor Center and the Canal Exploratiotow path on other days - both were interesting and informative. The towpath is smooth and level for walking, running, biking and dog walking.

This park was nice. We were able to see what we wanted in 1 day. It was August so waterfalls weren’t as brilliant as they are after a rain! The park is very spread out intermingled with highways. We LOVED the Ledges trail. Most of the trails are easy and a short walk from trailhead to the highlight. A great park if you like to bike!!

Sights & Landmarks
Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens is a stunning historic estate that offers visitors a glimpse into Akron's rich heritage. Once the home of F.A. Seiberling, co-founder of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, this magnificent Tudor Revival Manor House boasts 65 rooms filled with about 95% of its original furnishings, making it a rare gem from the Gilded Age. Set on 70 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds and gardens, the estate also features a Gothic Revival Conservatory.
Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens is truly one of Northeast Ohio’s most breathtaking wedding venues. Over the last decade, I’ve photographed more than a dozen weddings on these grounds, and every time I return, I’m reminded why this place is so special. It blends historic elegance with natural beauty—offering a romantic, storybook setting that feels both grand and deeply intimate. From the European-inspired architecture to the curated gardens and quiet paths, every corner of the estate offers timeless backdrops that elevate a couple’s wedding day and allow their love story to shine. The staff here is equally remarkable. From seamless logistics and guest care to thoughtful touches like coolers of water on warm days or umbrellas during rain, the Stan Hywet team always makes sure the day runs with grace. They pour so much heart into each celebration, and it never goes unnoticed. One of my favorite places to photograph is the English Garden—a hidden gem enclosed by stone walls, filled with soft natural light, statues, water features, and a feeling of magic. It’s perfect for portraits that feel ethereal and cinematic, yet grounded in real emotion. If you're drawn to refined romance, heritage architecture, and elevated, garden-inspired celebrations, Stan Hywet is a dream venue. I absolutely love photographing weddings here and would be honored to continue serving couples who choose to say "I do" in such an unforgettable place.
Loren J — Google review
This was my second time visiting Stan Hywet, and it honestly gets better each time. No matter how many times you go, you always notice something new—whether it’s a detail in the house or something blooming in the gardens. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable, and you can tell they really care about the history of the estate. The gardens are absolutely beautiful and such a peaceful place to walk through. It’s also easy to see why so many people choose it for weddings—it’s truly a stunning backdrop.
Geared B — Google review
We went to the Ohio Mart at Stan Hywet. What an incredible day! For 50 plus years the market has been selling premiere artisan works and this year did not disappoint. Such a beautiful setting for the Market. Plenty of restrooms, food options. Drink options are limited and a little pricey. Parking is off site with plenty of buses running to overflow spots. Loved this place!
S. P — Google review
My husband and I visited on the self guided tour. The entire estate is impressive. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. So much to see and history to absorb. We were unable to see a small portion of the gardens due to wedding ceremonies taking place, but were not bothered by it. The grounds are beautifully kept. It was nice to go at our own pace. We spent 4-5 hrs exploring and taking SO many pictures.
Chantal S — Google review
This is a beautiful mansion. The historic home and grounds are well preserved. I attended my niece’s wedding on a Saturday. It was held outdoors under a tent. I actually attended an indoor wedding there thirty years ago for the bride’s father. It would be a five star if entry into the property was not such an ugly scene. Our bus driver was following specific written, mapped out instructions and was curtly turned away by a Stan Hyatt attendant (who was wrong). We did finally get in, but it was an ugly way to start a joyous celebration. The employees inside were gracious and welcoming. Guests were allowed to tour the first floor. It’s an amazing place.
Pamela A — Google review
I enjoyed my first visit ever to Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens during this year’s Ohio Mart which encompassed much of the grounds in their food court and art vendor displays. It was a great opportunity for a self tour of the estate and grounds while enjoying bits of fall and the festival too. Remarkable historical home and gardens - I so appreciated a peek back in history with the fact that 95% of furnishings are original on the estate.
Stacey G — Google review
When I was in elementary, my class took a field trip to Stan Hywet Hall. Typically the field trips we did have I wasn’t all that fascinated, but I remember when we arrived, my class was very creeped out by it looking haunted. For once it was a field trip that felt like it was all for me. After that day, I forced my mom to take me again, over and over and over. Little me looked at my mom and said “mommy if a boy ever ends up loving me enough, I’m totally getting married here” about 15 years later, a boy did end up loving me enough. The staff went above and beyond for us. My husband and I are so happy we will always be able to say this was our venue.
Carleine — Google review
A quite beautiful place to visit. The home itself is amazing - hard to imagine living in such opulence, and it was 1915! The home is well maintained, as a museum piece. The tour was fascinating - I will need to go back for the "nooks and crannies tour" to be allowed past the velvet ropes! The grounds are excellent as well, with awesome flower beds in bloom.

The Akron Civic Theatre, a restored 1929 movie palace, offers a captivating experience for visitors. The theater's design is reminiscent of a Moorish castle and features Mediterranean decor, medieval carvings, European antiques, and Italian alabaster sculptures. One of its most enchanting aspects is the auditorium ceiling adorned with twinkling stars and moving projected clouds, creating an illusion of an outdoor performance under the night sky.
What a great venue! This is a very historic location and very well maintained. An awesomely ornate interior. We were here for a concert from Herman's Hermits Starring Peter Noone and enjoyed every minute. The staff were friendly and extremely accommodating.

Went for the Pink Floyd tribute band's charity concert for the Akron Children's Palliative Care Unit.. Great place. So much history there. Every single person that worked there was BEYOND nice and accommodating. We stopped on the main stairs case for a few pictures on our way out and a sweet lady offered to get one of all of us. She actually got like, 4 of them for me!!! It was super appreciated that she just came up and offered to do it for us!! The ushers were great, even the security at the doors were way nice. Totally can't say a bad thing about the place except maybe that it could have been a little cooler inside.. Bathrooms were very clean. They also have some super old furniture in the hallways that is really neat to see... Definitely would go back for another event. Thank you, Akron Civic Theatre!!!

Nice venue with a great sound system and cool decor. The stage can be seen from mostly any seat or section. Venue is a good size. The seats need to be updated to a more durable material. They were imbedded with years of lint so it made them look dirty. Bathrooms were large, clean and had a ton of stalls. Their is a parking garage right across the street. We saw a concert on Sunday and it was free to park in the garage. Quick and easy getting in and out of the venue. Staff was courteous and welcoming.

The facility features six themed areas that showcase wildlife from various regions and biomes around the globe.
This is a really nice little zoo for the whole family. We had a great time. It is very well laid out. The walk is very easy, even though there are slight hills. I've been to quite a few big zoos but found animals here that I haven't seen before. The dinosaur animatronics were really cool. Some of the best I've seen. I definitely recommend this zoo if you're in the area.

I love this zoo! It’s very well laid out with plenty of room for the animals and the visitors. I enjoyed the 50% off Veteran discount. The prices are already reasonable. There were lots of school groups who were learning from the highly qualified zookeepers there. I was especially excited to see a red panda. The lions were also impressive. They had some beautiful primates as well.

It was a good day. Not the biggest zoo, however they did amazing with the room that they have. I wouldn't call it small either. They have a conservation effort for nearly or all the animals that they have. There's also a beautiful place to sit and rest. All the animals look happy and healthy 😊

Boo at the Akron Zoo! What a fun experience. Reasonable rates. 10 stations with candy. Animals that look well taken care of. Cool pumpkin carvings. Food is good. Pepsi products! We will be back!

Great little zoo, especially for young children. Stroller and wheelchair accessible but there is a decent sized hill to get to the bears. Takes about an hour and a half or so to get through whole zoo. If it's hot out, most animals will be inside or hiding so plan accordingly! Nice sized dining area. We went during their dinosaur exhibit!
Alyse P — Google review
It was a fun experience but they didn’t have the 3 major big animals that I was hoping to see. Which were the Bear,Tiger and lion and no pandas. Kind of disappointed in that so I probably won’t go again. This was my first time here in 15 years. I got some pretty good pictures of the smaller animals but honestly it wasn’t that worth it. It was ok

Rocky River Reservation is a woodland park that spans across several communities from Berea to Rocky River. It offers hiking trails with opportunities to spot birds and deer. One of its main attractions is the Fort Hill Loop Trail, which covers 1.3 miles and includes the challenging Fort Hill Stairs with 155 steps, rewarding hikers with breathtaking panoramic views of the Rocky River. The trail also holds historical significance, featuring 2,000-year-old earthen walls built by early woodland tribes.
Love the new nature skate for kids! My kids thoroughly enjoyed it! And they always love going into the nature Center as well! So much fun for them to play inside the tree! Love the storybook Trail! And the path with the bridges.

Very fun walking trails. Has a nice nature center that has small aquariums and other aquatic animals. They also have maps, and different historical things to see inside. Theres chairs where you can sit and watch wildlife outside like birds, chipmunks, turtles, skunks, opossums. Theres one trail in particular that is very cute for kids, has a story throughout the trail. As you walk through the trail you seen more pages of the “story” and gives you insight to some of the animals on the trail. Very fun for kids to walk through and be excited to find the next page of the story or trying to find the metal silhouette that matches the page with the corresponding animal. Theres another long trail that features several sets of stairs overlooking the water and trees providing a very interesting and beautiful view if the trails.

We love Rocky River Nature Center! It is our go to for a quick easy outing that is guaranteed to wear our the kiddos of all ages. Inside there is a huge nature watchers windows with tons of chairs big and small for all ages to sit and enjoy. The indoor play area is immersive and kept my twin 3yo and 10yo occupied for hours. We had to come back a second time to visit the outdoor play area which was just as big of a hit! After crossing a small bridge it opens up to a nature play area with climbing rock walls, balance beams, and the twins favorite a giant duck. We have been back weekly since moving into the area and look forward to joining some events when they come around!

Beautiful park! This is a lovely place to go for a walk, go for a jog or just take in a moment in nature! I love all the variety here and the trails uniting this park to other beautiful areas in the area. I really enjoyed my time here and would recommend anyone to come spend some time at this lovely park!

Extensive hiking trail and bike path network (both paved and unpaved). Beautiful scenery all throughout, well maintained parks and facilities, and it’s located so close to the airport so a great place to plane-watch.

Go Ape Zipline and Adventure Park

Adventure sports center
Tours
Adventure-activity chain venue where groups explore the forest canopy via a treetop rope course.
Awesome staff! I’m so glad they opened up this adventure for all of us thrill seekers who love to stay active. This is a great way to get out of your head, climb, & enjoy. 10/10 would recommend. I had so much fun the 2 times that I went. I’ll definitely be back frequently. All the staff were very friendly, easy to talk to, & ready to help you.

My friend and I had an amazing time adventuring the Tree Top Adventures! Eric was an awesome trainer. I felt so comfortable and safe going up into the trees and flying down the zip lines. He was so patient with the people who were afraid and unsure. He filled them up with confidence and I got to see them continue their journey through the trees and enjoy their adventure because of his reassurance and kindness. The course was fun and challenging. The staff was great! I will definitely be bringing others back to enjoy! Thank you!

5-Star-Experience! Great for kids and adults. The team is awesome and the place is the best. The staff are professional and fun. The park is great too. Plenty of fun things to do, parking, bathrooms, and a whole lot more! The ziplines are all fast and fun. The walk in the trees is both challenging and rewarding for most ages and abilities. We will definitely be back.

Having never heard of this place until the day we went, I didn't know what to expect, but we had a great time! The adventure course was fun for the 12 year-old, but he did say it was less challenging than he expected, so next time he may want to try the bigger course. The staff was super friendly and very helpful, great with kids, and took safety seriously. As just an observer, I appreciated the picnic tables outside of the course, but the lack of shade was pretty brutal. They are near trees, so it depends on the time of day, I'm sure, but an umbrella over them would have been a real blessing.

Tree canopy ropes courses with ziplines. Small and tall - pick your level of fun. Older kids and young adults (or fit any age) will test their limits of heights and core strength on the Treetop course. Younger (10 and under) have a shorter course to test them with a little less stress. Definitely worth the price! The guides are awesome! Friendly, helpful and encouraging! My tweens rocked the course - as I slowed them down! 😟🤣 Reserve spot ahead of time online, buy the gloves and sign the waiver!

My Girl Scout troop and leaders did the Treetop Adventure. It was a lot of fun! There was some great bonding with encouraging each other that we could get through the course. We also did the Escape Room which was fun as well

It was on my bucket list and it was amazing. Staff is great. Very informative and well prepared. The course is more than I imagined. The experience was fantastic. I’d do it again. Definitely

Clay's Resort Jellystone Park in North Lawrence, OH

Campground
Water & Amusement Parks
Clay's Resort Jellystone Park in North Lawrence, OH offers a relaxed lakeside experience with camping and cabins. The 500-acre wonderland is perfect for families, providing opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, relax by the lake, or immerse in nature. The Adventure Waterpark features thrilling water slides, canoe and kayak rentals, and a sand volleyball court. Families can spend an entire day at the lake enjoying activities like barrel rolls and zip-lining into the water.
This place was such a treat! It was way more than we expected! I called with questions more than once about booking and everyone was so polite and helpful. Really kind workers. The entire park is super clean. Family friendly and we had a fabulous time! We loved the lake and all it had to offer with climbers slides, a diving board, kayaking and paddle boarding. The splash pad was quite big for the really little ones. There is a kids zero entry pool with slides, water guns and and obstacle course. There is also a family pool and an adult only hot tub. There are more than enough tables, chairs and loungers in each area. There was also a really nice mini golf course, bounce pad and playground. The general store was really cute and well stocked. The food was good and all reasonably priced which is rare now. Restrooms and common areas are spotless! Great place that we will be going back to regularly.
Nicole K — Google review
We absolutely love spending family time here! The park is clean and well laid out. We really enjoy riding the golf carts as the park is really big but we also enjoy just riding around in the evening looking at all the sites. We enjoy swimming the most. There is a place for the little ones, the teenagers and the adults. You really can't beat it. A life jacket is required in the lake area with the inflatables, but there's also a section of lake that doesn't require them. There is a rooftop bar overlooking the lake. Our only complaint is the prices have doubled, for example our drinks went from 4 dollars to 10! A little ridiculous 🙄
Sheila M — Google review
It's expensive to get in, but there's lots to do! The staff is very friendly, exceptionally so, and I think they have a good balance of rules/safety while still allowing guests to enjoy themselves. The lake offers a lot of adults or older kids and the water park is a blast for the younger guests. The downsides are the hours are very short -- you pay $40 per person and the water is only open noon till 7pm. However, we take advantage of the mini golf after the water areas close, which is a great option. Also during our visit, the swimming pool was cloudy and didn't smell especially clean... I'm not sure if that's common place or not. Also, I wish there were more areas for changing rooms for day pass guests who didn't camp there. Overall, lots of fun.
Catherine W — Google review
This summer has been amazing at Clay’s. Was everything perfect, I have to say yes! The staff including Matt, Tonya and Sonya at the pool made my sunny days even better. Do I wish they didn’t sell 10000 day passes? Sure but those day passes help pay the bills. Do I wish they would fill in some potholes, sure but it makes everyone drive slower. We contemplating leaving to be closer to home but there really isn’t any other camp grounds that compare! I am grateful that I can be here and I am grateful that the staff here all work hard to make our weekend vacations the best!
Beth C — Google review
We had a great time at Clay's Resort Jellystone! The campground was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The general store had a great selection of merchandise and we enjoyed the roof top bar and restaurants. This is a VERY LARGE campground, which is both good and bad. The water attractions are open to the public as well as campers, so it can get very crowded on the weekends. (We stayed Sunday-Sunday, and everything was crowded but manageable until Friday night into Saturday.) The swimming lake and swimming pool enact a safety break for 15 minutes every hour. While I understand the necessity of breaks, this is a little excessive. With the crowds, it makes using the Wibits on the swimming lake more challenging. Several times, one or more people in our group were just getting started on one of those attractions when the break was called, and then had to start over after the break. It also seems extremely unnecessary for a 3 foot pool to need to be evacuated every 15 minutes. During those times, it could be "swim at your own risk" (or since there were always 2 life guards on duty, their breaks could be altered so one of them is on duty at all times). I would absolutely recommend this campground, but the above are way that they could definitely improve.
Becky D — Google review
RIP-OFF... Don't expect much for their inflated campsite prices. We made reservations way in advance of our trip only to find they gave it to someone else because we didn't pay the $35 extra fee to "lock" in our reserved date! We did not care for the unlevel site they reasigned us to and then wanted $35 for us to switch to a different more level site nearby. What a rip-off! Many campers and even some employees were commenting on how much things have gone downhill since being sold to the current big corporation. BEWARE! Obviously we will never go back again and promise to tell our camping friends to stay away too. In response to the reply about their automatic reservation system? A reservation is a reservation! Thats why its called a "reservation". Their extra $35 fee is BS Nothing but extra profit for the big corporation. This was OFF SEASON for one thing. The park was over half empty except for the seasonal campers. Nonsense!
Greg S — Google review
Stayed here with my family over Labor Day Weekend. We stayed in an eight person cabin up in the 800 area. We lost water on and off in the cabin all throughout the weekend. We lost it Saturday morning/afternoon for several hours. The cabins around us were also having the same issues. We called and went to the office several times without ever receiving an explanation. The worst was on Monday, we lost water and electricity for the entire morning. My mom went to the office and the lady was extremely rude to her and didn't care. These cabins are pretty pricey so I felt like this was unacceptable. Such a shame and I won't be back.
Lindsay C — Google review
This was our first trip to Clay's Resort, and we had a great time. We stayed at one of the lakeside cabins and rented a golf cart for our entire stay. The Campground was clean and well taken care of, and the activities were awesome. From the swimming lake with all the cool obstacles, the pool, the water park, and all the other things to do it kept our boy's ages15 and 12 very busy. The rooftop bar was cool and gave us a chance to unwind a bit while the kids played in the water. The weather was perfect for our visit, so we did not get to the game room or really do any of the indoor activities. We did go to the on site restaurant for the breakfast buffet, and for a late lunch one day. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food was good. The fishing was a little slow but the boys did catch some catfish, bluegill, bass, and a pretty big softshell turtle. We had a good time and plan to go back for another long weekend later in the year, we even picked out our next cabin rental. This time the boy's want to bring their bicycles, and a couple friends.

Christmas store
Castle Noel is a captivating and ever-evolving destination that offers a wide array of unique events and attractions. From Hawaiian Luaus to the Christmas museum, gift shop, and Alien Golf, there's always something new to experience. While souvenirs may be on the pricier side, the overall tour price is justified by the sheer amount of things to see. Visitors can even get their picture taken with Santa at an affordable rate.
Castle Noel is an absolute blast. It's so much fun and you will see something from your favorite christmas movie. It does not matter what movie you like they have something from it. You will feel like a kid again here. This is a must do when you are in cleveland. Forget the christmas story house. Come see a castle. Buying tickets ahead is a must. Tour groups are limited to 14 people, and they depart roughly every 30 minutes. The tour guides are super fun. Be warned though it is a 2 hour walking tour. Plan accordingly. It's great for kids and families and older adults. Everyone will enjoy this place. Also, Dwight is an amazing tour guide. I have had him twice now and is absolutely the best.

Visited this amazing place today - and we highly recommend it for not only Christmas lovers but also for anyone that is a Christmas movie buff, and those that love art and theatre! Our guide Tim was fantastic and truly made the tour come to life! We had a great time strolling down memory lane with the “toys of yesteryear” and it was fun hearing folks get excited as they pointed out their childhood favorites. Visiting Castle Noel was a highlight of our visit to the Cleveland area. Thank you Tim!!!

My son and I were visiting from Tampa and took the tour through Castle Noel. I would highly recommend this experience to everyone! If you love Christmas, this is the place for you! And if you’re a Scrooge, you need to go because you will leave there loving Christmas! 😊 I wish we had something like this in Florida but I feel this is truly a one of a kind experience! Thank you to Mr and Mrs Klaus for your hard work and pure love that you obviously put into this place. It’s breathtakingly beautiful and will warm the coldest of hearts. Worth every penny!! 🎄🎄

Castle Noel was such a fun and unique experience! It really feels like stepping into a Christmas movie. The decorations, lights, and displays are so detailed, and there’s something to look at around every corner. It’s one of those places that brings out your inner kid — you can’t help but smile the whole time. Definitely worth checking out, and a perfect spot to visit with family or friends. Wear comfortable shoes there’s a lot of walking and standing!

We had an awesome time at Castle Noel! Loved all the displays and toys. You can truly see how much time, love, and Christmas spirit has been put into this place. A huge shout out to Bill for making our tour fun!

Several improvements and more finished displays since our last visit a few years ago. It's a 90 minute or so guided tour with many photos, toys, and games from the 1950s and 1960s, and one-of-a-kind artifacts from TV shows, movies, and New York department store windows. A very unique place you should visit once for a trip down Christmas memories lane.

Impressive collection of movie memorabilia and window displays. Enjoyed the tour and all the scenery. We went on a weekday in November with plenty of free parking. Met the owner who presented on his newest project. A good experience. Buy tickets in advance or you may regret trying your luck to get in otherwise

Me and my friend went today and had the absolute best experience! We loved all of our guides and how fun they made the experience. But we wanted to shout out Bill who absolutely made our visit. He did such a wonderful job, was so friendly and we could not say better things about him. We would genuinely come back just to see him! If you see this Bill we thought you guys were pretty cool too :) this place is close to home but everyone should get that experience. I applaud all of the staff and everyone behind all of it because it is unlike anything else you will ever see. Thank you all again!

Allen Memorial Art Museum

Art museum
Museums
The Allen Memorial Art Museum, located at Oberlin College, is a free museum that boasts an impressive collection of over 13,000 works of art spanning various periods and regions. The museum's eclectic architectural beauty houses mostly European and American works alongside global and ancient art. Visitors find the museum charming and welcoming, with well-curated exhibits such as the Eva Hesse drawings and modern art. Additionally, the museum is attached to a top-rated local music and arts college in Oberlin, Ohio.
I love the diversity of their collection for such a small campus and location. I have been to cities with populations exponentially larger where their museums do not have half the collection and style of the Allen. It is a wonderful utilization of space and architecture, blended in with the works themselves. It is always worth stopping in when you are nearby!

"Challenge". This is a local museum for me. It is a great museum and its attached to the local music and arts college college. This is an awesome Museum and the college is rated the top five arts and Musical colleges around the US students from all over the country come just to attend this college. Aside from the college and Museum this place is directly in the middle of town of Oberlin Ohio and has one of the oldest theaters right across the street! It is just been recently remodeled by the great comedian. There's also some other old shops around in the buildings and plenty of other culture cuisine options in the town. There's a great park down the road from the museum and it's just all around a great little town. Come check it out! Best part about the Arts Museum here is it free of charge!!!! 0$ 😁

Such a treasure! Art from around the world and also from the US, housed in an architecturally stunning building. I loved that the museum wasn’t so large that you could take your time to visit all the galleries. Our favorite piece was a ceremonial robe from Africa. Well worth the visit to Oberlin - a perfect way to spend a fall day!

The best show I have ever seen anywhere was the 2:00 show of The Sound of Music! The cast sang so wonderfully well that I had tears running down my face. The music was excellent and well directed. Amazing museum and incredible mural. The mural isn't just a picture, it's a story. There is an amazing 45 minute tour the tells the whole store with spotlights lighting up specific parts of the picture. It is incredible. Learned so much more about Amish history and found it very interesting. Awesome cute gift shop as well, in addition to good books, a little museum part, and a couple of old Amish buildings outside. Definitely worth checking out.

We watched the video and did the school house and barn tour. Both were very informative, and as a first stop in Holmes County it gave us a decent understanding of the people and history of the area. The school and barn are both great interactive places for middle school and high school kids. The gift shop was nice, and I appreciated the help from the woman at the front desk as my son and I really didn't know what to do when we got there. I would definitely recommend this place as a first stop though.

Take the tour and learn all about the origins and history of the Amish, Mennonite, and Hutterite communities. We were lucky enough to be the only two people on our tour and were able to learn so much from the friendly knowledgeable and extraordinarily personable tour guide. There was nothing she couldn’t explain, clarify or illuminate. I knew some history starting with Jakob Am but had no idea how rich the real history is and how far back it started and more importantly, why. The mural is beautifully painted and HUGE! I could have talked to her all day! Well worth the visit! I won’t add a photo for this one. If you want to see it take the tour! You won’t be disappointed.

Excellent. A must see for anyone wanting to know more about the Amish and Mennonite and other Anabaptist communities. Very informative. Bakery
Hershberger's Farm and Bakery is a charming destination in Amish Country that offers a delightful experience for travelers. Visitors can enjoy house-baked Amish goods, seasonal produce, and handcrafted items while exploring the petting zoo with a variety of well-cared-for animals. The farm also offers unique experiences such as Amish buggy rides and horseback riding.
Great stop! Huge selection of healthy mums and pumpkins. Bakery counter line was long. Lots of offerings in the store such as soup starters, noodles, spices, fresh produce. Peach Cider slushy was surprisingly good. Separate building with wood and leather products. Worthwhile stop.

Me and my husband truly enjoyed a Saturday afternoon at the farm! We didn't get to do everything that we wanted to do because the lines in the market where so long and there were so many groceries to buy! The gift shop was very nice as well, I went on there for a leather belt and left with that and a purse 🤣 grab the family, enjoy the drive, and experience what farm life has in store for you!
L E — Google review
A great family oriented place especially for the kids to experience a visit with farm animals. Plenty of great food shopping for fresh meats, fruit, jams jellies candy, flowers and more. Hershbergers Farm offers some amazing and fresh food products and bakery items at fair prices. Always busy with loads of parking. they have a food trailer on site for breakfast or a burgers and more. The only continued disappointment with this place is the poor restroom facilities. You would expect with such a huge complex that handles thousands of people per year that the management with offer especially the older folks a better place to use than the current awful bathroom and the porta potties. So if you make a stop beware.... Wife and i visit 2x times per year for their great food items.
Greg S — Google review
We love everything about this farm! The bakery is amazing, the food you can buy, the fall decor like the pumpkins and other items are the icing on the cake. There are other activities you can do here as well. We have been on a buggy ride and the driver was amazing. We also did the pumpkin patch ride to pick our own pumpkins and it was really fun too. Our kids really enjoyed it. It’s always one of our main stops while we are visiting!
B M — Google review
We took the whole crew out to Hershberger’s—kids, grandparents, and all—and had such a great time. This place is a perfect family stop if you're in the area. The petting zoo is the main attraction, and it did not disappoint. Our kids loved feeding the goats, petting the bunnies, and seeing the giant horse (Big Ben is no joke). It’s a great way for little ones to get up close with animals in a clean, safe, and fun environment. We didn’t eat while we were there, but we did pop into the market and picked up some fresh produce. Everything looked great, and the prices were reasonable. It’s got that classic, small-town charm you hope for in Amish Country—nothing fancy, just friendly people and quality goods. If you’re traveling with family, especially with grandparents in tow, this is a spot worth visiting. It’s relaxed, engaging for all ages, and full of those simple joys that make for great memories.
Ryan S — Google review
One of our favorite places to visit in Holmes County! There is an on-site bakery with lots of treats to purchase for $1. They also make popcorn in a kettle over an open fire, sell handmade leather goods produced on site, textiles and wooden toys. If you love farm animals, there are goats on the barn roof, large and small farm animals and even some exotic animals to see. It is run by Amish folk. They also have a great selection of bulk spices, grocery items, and some pies and produce. The country drive is worth every penny you’ll spend on fuel! Don’t miss this country gem!
Ashley J — Google review
If you want beautiful fresh produce, nice selection of pies and other goodies in an organized clean and well maintained store, then this is the store for you. Fresh smelling produce before you enter the store, like I've never seen. The Amish people know how to grow and sell their goods supremely well. They've got it down to an art. I can respect the time effort and diligence it takes to do the work they do. They do not skrimp on anything they do. The stores all over Amish country delight and amaze. There is so much to see. Also here are horse and buggy rides. I would like to try out if I get the chance to come here again. Also there is a petting zoo here.

Love this place. They have quite a variety of cheese. Staff is very friendly. Prices are reasonable. They also have a great collection of jellies, jams, sauces, dips… Found some great Christmas gifts for the grand babies

Take a cooler bag if traveling because you will want everything! My daughter and I randomly stopped while traveling to Medina. We split a cheese curd and mozzarella stick from the cafe. There is so much to see and the chocolate shop is definitely worth stopping at to taste. The man making woven baskets has an incredible talent but bring cash. He doesn't take plastic. I will be back for a basket and some dips and cheese! Highly recommend stopping to explore and sample as much cheese as you want. ❤️

Just off the highway, this dual-store stop offers a delightful treat for both sweet and savory lovers. The sweets store boasts a tempting array of chocolates and candies, including a small selection of sugar-free options. Right next door, you'll find a fantastic cheese and meat shop, perfect for crafting a delicious picnic. With a pleasant rest area in between and friendly employees at both locations, it's an ideal place to refuel and relax on your journey.

What a great stop! You can sample almost anything! Aged cheeses are amazing! So many little gifts and gadgets. The sweet shop is wonderful too! The gold stickers mean it's made in house!

WOW! This place was as amazing as the reviews have said! Lots of varieties of all kinds of stuff, but in particular the cheeses and the fudge were just an amazing variety! Staff were all very professional and kind and very giving when it came to samples. That's the greatest experience!

We love Grandpa’s cheese barn! We try to make a stop every time we travel to Niagara Falls. The candy building is amazing! Yummy.

Super fun stop on a road trip. Samples upstairs are fantastic. Yummy sandwiches and sodas available for a quick lunch. Cheeses and other food products are high quality. Good place, not just a gimmicky tourist trap.

What an amazing place! Came by on a warm and sunny day and were blown away by how gorgeous the grounds are. We saw staff working on stuff everywhere. As someone who has a hard time walking distances, I was pleasantly surprised to be offered an electrical scooter at no charge to help get around. The place is very large and clearly marked for what plants are where and also how to avoid staircases. Volunteers were very evident and were obviously happy to be there. Wonderful place to spend time.

I had such a wonderful visit to the Franklin Park Conservatory! The different biomes were fascinating and made the experience both serene and educational. The bonsai exhibit was absolutely immaculate, and I was pleasantly surprised by how impressive the architecture itself was as part of the attraction. A beautiful place to spend the day and definitely worth a return trip!

I felt the price was about $5 to high. However, we booked for 5:30 entry and it was still daylight and have to have the children home at a certain time so they didn’t get to see the cool stuff come to life til we left. I understand it’s a wedding venue as I got married there at Christmas time. So we missed out on seeing the Palm house. Not spooky at all. Great for kids of all ages. Just wish the prices were lower so even the kids that come from low income families could enjoy it too.

I haven't been to the Franklin Park Conservatory for over 40 years and my girlfriend has never been so what better way to spend our one year anniversary than to spend a day enjoying all the beautiful sights and smells😊. It was better than I remembered! I was even better at night seeing the place lit up for the Pumpkins Aglow event. I was very romantic and the smiles she had was priceless 😍

My Granddaughter and her Fiancée were just Married here 11-8-25. The Franklin Park Conservatory is absolutely Beautiful for a wedding. Beautiful plants, Blown glass art, the people setting up, everything was perfect. The grounds are gorgeous for pictures, and just to walk around see topiary, plants, trees. Gorgeous place to visit, take pictures to take with family, etc.

We went to Pumpkins A'glow prior to Halloween as our first visit to the conservatory. Our family enjoyed the everything inside and out. The detail and variety was amazing. We will definitely be going back for more events.

This was a great little excursion while in Columbus. The Flora is beautiful and the chihuli glass is incredible. It doesn’t take up your whole day to tour and I was happy with the amount to see.

Every trip to this place is more memorable and fun than the last! It was super easy to get in, and getting food and drinks was no problem. I love the setup that there are refill stations as that makes getting drinks faster. It was my wife's first game, so it was a perfect weather day and fans to help us enjoy! Go buckeyes!

Huge stadium, 107,000 people at the game. We were at the very top 41 rows to the top. It is steep. Everyone we met and talked were super friendly from workers to fans. Thank God for the bicycle people taking you from the parking lot to and from game. Cost 25 a person. Worth every bit of the hundred spent. Plenty of rest rooms and there are elevators if you don't want to walk up the very many flights of stairs to get to your section.

Came down for my first football game. What a time, we ran over Penn State- it was great. Stadium itself is a lot of stairs. Some really good views. A lot of lines for food and drink. All the fans were great, can't wait to come back!!

Amazing Stadium ! Very well built/maintained ! My maiden game was yesterday OSU Buckeyes vs Texas Longhorns . Of all stadiums I’ve been to , The Shoe ( The Ohio Stadium is by far the best when it comes to management , views and aesthetics! The scenery and atmosphere is second to none ! A very very vibrant and awesome place to be !

As a Texas Longhorn, I was impressed with the friendliness of everyone from Ohio!! They were very welcoming and I’m sure out of respect for the great teams. If I was an Aggie I’m sure they would have kicked me out. 😂 I have been at SEVERAL outdoor events, but these fan were so loud I couldn’t hear for about 20 minutes after the game. Great place!! Very impressive!! Highly recommended!!

Such an awesome stadium to experience in person the vibe is electric with over 100,000 of your closet friends during a football game. Also lots cool merchandise to buy and great food options.

Had a appreciation day from our company, Crawford Hoying at Ohio stadium. It was a fantastic day on the field and hearing all the stories from the tour guide of the stadium. This is an excellent place to do a team building event or to just check out a true classic Stadium experience.

Great OSU game day experience from the front row of C-deck. This was a great time with friends and tickets were reasonably priced for a College Football Game. Script Ohio by the marching band at halftime was an awesome sight!

Definitely the best market in cbus! You can get food and goods from many different cultures like African, Italian, polish, French, Chinese, etc. The noodle bar is fantastic, great local honey, and a pretty expansive wine and beer store. Great vibes and pleasant people all around

I have visited north market to get some dinner when I was in Columbus. I went there twice actually. They have a variety of food options to consider including Jeni’s ice cream! I got some pizza and some ice cream during one visit and enjoyed the food! Specifically the ice cream! On my next visit, I got food from Hoyo’s and it was very tasty too! There is an eating area one floor above with lots of chairs and tables. It closes at 7 PM (when I went there in August), so I had to check the timing a little carefully. It was easily accessible from my hotel by walk.

What a fantastic place! So much good food! A lovely jewelry vendor, flowers, oils, cheese! Was our first time visiting and we will be back. Nice and close parking garage. Be sure to get your receipt for parking garage from the vendor you buy from. This is good for one hour of parking. Highly recommend North Market for a bite to eat and some local shopping.

If I could leave a higher rating i definitely would. I went there with my boyfriend for the first time and my eyes immediately lit up! The food looked absolutely amazing, the pricing was way better than I had expected. The wait time for the food wasn’t nearly as long as I had anticipated. I will definitely be going back as many times as I’m able! I recommend the Birria tacos, 3 tacos for $14! As a bonus you are able to sit and overlook the whole place!

First time here; quaint little place downtown. Great for new finds of food, coffees, oils / spices, desserts. Has a variety of cuisines, there is something for everyone. Seating indoor and outdoor, perfect for a lazy weekend or to meet with friends. Parking validation offered from one of the vendors I purchased from but didn’t accept when leaving garage. This would be the only downside - which could have been a fluke. Can’t wait to go back!

Great foodie fun stop. Shocker on this visit was the Philly Cheese Steak and Buckeye Crepe plus strawberry. The barbecue and dumplings were solid runners up. If you're bargain hunting get some fresh fries at the cheese steak shop and a slice of pizza. - otherwise prepare to spend $15-$20 Puerto item. The good is grood, but the swipes add up quickly. If you're patient you can find street parking within a block or two for cheap vs garage parking at special event prices.

Neat market and my group enjoyed the time they had here very much. Good food. Tables were a little hard to source over lunch. I will be back.

Love this market! So many choices for food, or gifts, or whatever you crave. This reminds me of a European style market. Great place to grab a quick bite.
