Nice sportsbook with movie theater type seating. Big tvs. Other than the cigarette smoke, it's a great place to watch and bet sports
Russ V — Google review
Nice casino with a non smoking area, However they no longer have a buffet. They still offer a variety of restaurants. I went to the Venue to see Leela James. The venue is nice great seats. The concert was good.
Renee J — Google review
Nice casino right on the water. Fairly modern and updated. Good variety of games, both tables and slots. Kept moderately clean. The complementary soda fountains were a little gross, I did not use them. Restrooms were kept okay. Not in the greatest part of town.
Ben C — Google review
Great lamb of god show super nice people but the beers are over priced and the ladies pouring um give ya more foam than beer pour your own.
Steven T — Google review
The venue has amazing crew who are top of their responsibilities! Food was great and had a great show!
Mags C — Google review
I wish it was non smoking. That was horrible in there. We went to watch Theresa Caputo. That area was smoke free at least. Great seats!
Jewels B — Google review
My favorite place, I go for chill only. I played less but my favorite place to eat and drink.
Kapil G — Google review
Great time at price is right live. Fun crowd, host Ted newton was funny and engaging. Free parking in the tower and getting to the venue once inside was a breeze. I would come back here to see more shows.

3 Floyds Brewing

$$$$affordable
Brewery
Craft brewery established in 1996 featuring artisan beers, plus an on-site store.
Hands down one of my favorite breweries. The beer here is incredible and the artwork is really cool. This place has a great vibe and a distinctive sense of style. The seasonal brews are incredible, while mainstays such as Alpha King, Gumball Head, and of course Zombie Dust are must trys for beer fans.
Michael — Google review
The atmosphere is great and the Beer are even better. The beer selection is awesome and being able to take some home is a bigger bonus! Worth the short trip off 1-94... If you are into microbrews with both quality and character, then you have to try Three Floyds. People come from all over the world to sample their brews, and they have won several awards for different selections on tap here. The place is small, somewhat noisy and funky- with furniture similar to what I had in my apartment in college. The staff are outgoing-but make no mistake, there is a noted lack of push-up bras, fake tans and hair gel in THIS place. What you have here are knowledgeable locals who really know their beer, and good beer grub. If you sit on a bar stool- you might be educated about beer and the different brews on Saturdays you can tour of the brewer. 100% recommend!
Hagz — Google review
Really enjoy the beer, was excited to go to the facility. When we got there, a lot of it was closed off the person working there told us that the tastings and everything has been shut down for about 4 years, and they are wanting to bring it back. Not really a big font for much.
Brady S — Google review
Fun to finally get to visit this place. I with they had a tap room or served beer on site. They had a nice gift shop and you could buy carry out. The beer is great, but a bit over-priced relative to the great beer available at other great breweries. You pay for the reputation, but it's a nice splurge once in a while.
Billschomer — Google review
3 Floyds has some fantastic beers/drinks and excellent food, some of which are unlike anything I've ever had. Their bourbon barrel aged Moloko is absolutely phenomenal, and their Daytona Stinger mojito sour is... intense (very good, just... intense!). The food is delicious as well, when the restaurant is open, which it is not currently due to covid. We tried the pizza and cheese curds, both with the amazing pickled veggies on them!
Keith Z — Google review
Drove all the way from Pittsburgh to finally make it to 3 Floyds - a true craft beer mecca. The beer is on another level when it is this fresh, and the food was amazing. Best bowl of ramen I've ever had. Staff was friendly and the music was metal. Can't wait to go back.
Dan H — Google review
Still the Center of the Known Brewing Universe and one of the top fifty breweries nationally ... a must visit of the brewery to earn ones chops and learn about hops (sorry). No hiding on the tour of the unique hops, bottling line and thereby the quality of so many favorite pours. Personal favorite now in a can like Alpha King. And even better after the visit try the kitchen and plan visiting next door the distillery.
Robert K — Google review
Who doesn't love a vinyl record blasting behind the bar with some amazing food and beer? Great atmosphere, but a little pricey. Food is a little eclectic when all you want is something basic. I knocked a star off because they didn't offer a true flight. And with a selection of amazing beers I can't get in NJ I wanted to try many!

Albanese Candy Factory Store

Candy store

The Albanese Candy Factory Outlet is a paradise for candy lovers of all ages. Located just a short drive from Merrillville, this renowned factory produces some of the world's best gummies and chocolates. Visitors can take tours to witness the candy-making process and explore the on-site store, which offers a wide variety of delicious souvenirs to take home.
Clean, fun place! Every delicious candyr you can imagine. Staff were helpful, kind & generous with samples. No stinginess here!! Made us glad to purchase more than we’d planned! 😀🎉 Fun stop, worth the little detour. Our favorite: Albanese Dark chocolate gran marnier pecans!!
Lara P — Google review
A huge candy factory. You get a few views of the factory floor but the plant itself is massive. The candy outlet store is very large. There are so many things on offer and the largest part of the place is set aside for bulk orders. They have chocolate, gummies, packages candy and other stuff. If you have a sweet tooth this place will fill that need with ease. I don't know what more to add to all of this, if you are driving by stop in and check it out. There aren't many stores like this around so just a neat place to check out if you are on a road trip and want a fun way to stretch your legs.
Rich — Google review
I have enjoyed their gummies for years, and finally had the opportunity to visit their store. Great prices and a wide variety of products including chocolates, nuts, and other candies. Their staff was very quick and friendly. Some gummy flavors I never seen before as well.
Adam J — Google review
This is a heaven for kids and all adults who love candy. Plenty of variety for all taste in candy from chocolates to gummies. Although there is plenty of options, not all candy here is made by the company. Make sure to get the candies marked "Albanese" on them. Staff members here are very friendly. One of the staff members provided me a nice historical recap of the company. Free samples are provided upon request. Unfortunately no factory tours are provided here. Clean restrooms are available.
W O — Google review
Albanese gummy bears are hands-down the best gummy bears you can buy, and once you try them, it’s hard to go back to anything else. The first thing you notice is the texture—they’re soft, chewy, and perfectly tender, without that tough, rubbery bite you get from other brands. Each piece feels fresh and practically melts in your mouth. The flavors are where Albanese truly shines. Instead of generic “fruit” tastes, you get bold, distinct flavors like mango, pineapple, and strawberry that are vibrant and instantly recognizable. Every bite bursts with sweetness balanced by just the right amount of tartness, making them incredibly addictive. It’s not just candy—it’s a little fruit-flavored celebration. Even visually, they’re a treat. The colors are bright and glossy, and each gummy bear looks like it belongs in a candy shop window. The variety in the mix means you’re never stuck with a bag full of your least favorite flavor—because let’s be honest, they’re all good. Albanese clearly puts care into their recipe, and it shows. Whether you’re snacking at home, sharing with friends, or looking for a sweet gift, these gummy bears deliver every single time. Simply put: once you’ve had Albanese, no other gummy compares.
Noah — Google review
Damien was AMAZZZZZZING! First time shopper here and he made my visit spectacular. Samples, smiles, personable and so kind without rushing me. He's a KEEPER! They are blessed to have him on their staff. Will be back!!!!!!
Tracy — Google review
The candy is great and they now have these new versions with no artificial dies. The only negative is that you cannot take a pick into production like with some other manufacturers.
Jose L — Google review
Sweet Perfection at Albanese! Who doesn’t love a trip to the candy store? After a fun day at the water park, my girlfriend and I stopped by Albanese in Indiana and it was the perfect sweet finale to our day! We loaded up on gummies and chocolates for the family (and, of course, a few treats for ourselves too). The real star? The Peanut Almond Butter Crunch squares—creamy, nutty, and super addicting. Every bite was pure bliss! If you’re near Indiana and craving top-tier candy, Albanese is a must. Their treats are next-level delicious, and the vibes are just as sweet. We’ll definitely be back!

Gabis Arboretum at Purdue Northwest

Arboretum
Nature & Parks
360-acre oak preserve offering formal gardens, trails through diverse landscapes & events. Dogs OK.
A very Beautiful place to visit. It makes you feel like a Kid again with All the skillful designed Trains and the History that goes with it! It also has very nice trails to walk for hiking or just to be out in nature and you can also bring your horse they have horse trails! If you have kids bring them it's is worth the price to get in.💜

Expensive ,10 bucks ,but so beautiful . Many trails, lovely scenery. Brings my memories of childhood back… just beautiful Forrest sounds. Highly recommend not being on your phone to appreciate the beauty and sounds of nature.
Priscilla L — Google review
What a great place! We took our grandson to the model train display and spent a couple hours there. The staff were super friendly and very knowledgeable! We would recommend Gabis Arboretum to anyone! There is something there for everyone, from model trains to beautiful gardens & trails.
Kelly M — Google review
Walkers and nature lovers will love this place, anytime of year. The trails are well maintained and easy to follow. The kids will enjoy the huge train set outside when the weather permits. Bring a lunch, there are many places to sit outside. A great time for everyone!
Adam H — Google review
This is a beautiful park! It does cost to get in and it IS per person which I think really stinks and needs to change to PAY PER CAR because it can get really pricey just for a park... my husband and I took our kids and they enjoyed it. *note: the train display is outside, avoid going on a hot day because it can become dreadful **
Hope H — Google review
We arrived about 40 minutes before closing, but with a goal of seeing the trains, so that was enough time. The other outdoor spaces looked beautiful and we plan to come back to explore more. The train display was well worth it. The dioramas were very detailed and the plants and vegetation were gorgeous. The staff was helpful and the depot/shop was clean and well maintained.
Michelle K — Google review
I came back for the first time since it was sold to Purdue and it was a heartbreaking experience. The only thing that is maintained is the railway garden. Everything else is an overgrown breeding ground for alien invasive species. There are still natives that haven't been choked out yet, but this place is a dilapidated shadow of the sanctuary it used to be.
Istril — Google review
Beautiful nature park, lots of good signage, clean restrooms and looks like they offer a lot of family and community activities. The trails were well maintained and very walkable.

Indiana Dunes State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
Parks
Dune-lined park for hiking, swimming, fishing, cross-country skiing, birding & more, plus campsites.
If you’re planning a trip to Indiana Dunes, don’t skip the area around the Pavilion—it ended up being one of my favorite parts of the park. The Pavilion itself is this beautifully restored historic building that sits right on the beach. It kind of gives off a nostalgic, almost vintage boardwalk vibe, but with updated features that make it perfect for a beach day break. You’ve got options—grab a bite to eat downstairs, cool off with some ice cream, or head up to the rooftop bar (my favorite part) and take in the views of Lake Michigan. If you catch it near sunset, it’s chef’s kiss. We ordered food from the café downstairs—think burgers, salads, simple grill stuff. I had the Italian beef and it was great and had plenty of meat. It’s not five-star dining or anything, but it hits the spot after hiking dunes or laying in the sun all day. I will say it was a little pricey for what it was, and service was a bit slow, but to be fair it was a packed weekend afternoon. The staff was doing their best, and everyone was friendly. The rooftop though? Worth it. Great breeze, amazing views, and it just feels relaxing up there. It’s the kind of place where you can sip a drink and lose track of time watching the waves. One thing to note: it does cost $12 if from out of state and $7 if you're from Indiana per vehicle to enter the State Park, which gets you access to the beach, trails, and of course the Pavilion area. Totally worth it in my opinion, especially if you make a full day of it. The beach right outside the Pavilion is wide and beautiful, with plenty of space (though it can get crowded in peak summer). It’s perfect for families, couples, or even a solo recharge day. And if you're up for a little adventure, the dune trails nearby are gorgeous and offer some killer views of the lake. My tips: – Try to go on a weekday if you can, it’s less crowded. – Bring sunscreen and flip flops – Definitely plan to catch the sunset. – And if you’re into photography, this place is a dream around golden hour. The Indiana Dunes Pavilion is one of those spots that makes you want to slow down and just enjoy where you are. It’s not perfect but it doesn’t need to be. The views, the breeze, the beach, it all adds up to a really special experience. Would I go back? Absolutely. And next time, I’m saving room for that ice cream.
Samantha C — Google review
August 2025: Awesome place to spend a day. Weather made it impossible to get in the water when we were there but the beach was beautiful. Good hiking trails and the 3 Dune Challenge is really fun! (Although I definitely don't recommend forgetting your shoes/boots like I did. Started out in flip flops, did most of it barefoot). Nature Center had some interesting things to look at and clean restrooms. Plenty of picnic tables. Depending on the day of your visit, be prepared to wait in line to drive into the park.
Tiffany P — Google review
A beautiful hidden gem in Indiana. This was our first time here, and I'm glad we made the trip. Who knew you could drive 4 hours, and be at a beach in Indiana! The trails, and campground were very nice. The trails were great, and peaceful. I wish they were marked a little better. BE WARNED the mosquitoes here are crazy on the trails so come extra prepared for that! I had many bites especially on my feet. I will definitely come better prepared for next time. The trails were beautiful, and well maintained. The beach was beautiful, and clean. The bathrooms at the beach were very dirty is my only complaint. Great for some nighttime photography as well! Overall we can't wait to come back and visit!
Jessica P — Google review
Gorgeous and clean state park! The entry is pretty cheap, and you can stay all day to do the trails, swim, bike, and enjoy being by Lake Michigan. I think it's particularly nice for families to spend time here. It's a short drive for Chicagoans. I recommend taking a day trip here!
Maurielle C — Google review
I went there the first time in my life and I did the 3 dune challenge and it was good exercise to do that and see the scenery and the view and it was worth it. Then you have a exhibits in the visitor's center and that was good to see.
KE A — Google review
Great beach with amazing amenities- roof top restaurant right next to beach, clean bathrooms, showers, changing rooms, cafe with quick bites at reasonable prices and ice cream shop. Beautiful trails to hike. Only bummer is they get you out of water at 6 PM. That’s didn’t make sense. Probably you can go beyond the beach border and get into water at your own risk. Not sure!
Arun Y — Google review
Beautiful Places. Stayed at Dunwood Campground. Campground does not have electricity, but it has plenty of places to fill water tanks and restrooms and showers. There is plenty of distance between campsites which is better than most. Lots of wildlife. Had wild turkey coming up in the campsite. A real treat to get to see them upclose.
Kyle B — Google review
Discovered Trail 9 and now understand why it comes so highly rated! Despite the rain and the bugs, it was a challenging and wonderful trail. The sandy dunes never makes for a dull moment.

Lighthouse Place Premium Outlets

Factory Outlets
Lighthouse Place Premium Outlets is a charming outdoor mall located in Michigan City's North End, designed to resemble a waterfront village. Since its opening in 1987, it has been home to numerous factory stores and clearance centers offering discounts of up to 65% on a wide range of brands such as Columbia, Adidas, Skechers, Nike, Calvin Klein, the North Face, Le Creuset, Crocs, Old Navy, Samsonite and more.
We stopped here on our way to Chicago ORD airport have travelled from Michigan as there were a few shops that I wanted to go to. I didn’t factor in the one hour time difference though in Indiana and as the shopping outlet doesn’t open until 10am had to wait a while. We ended up spending a little while in a cafe across the road and plugging in the EV to a charge point. Certainly after it opened the place was almost deserted so no issue with loads of shoppers. Plenty of shops to choose from and some decent bargains to be had.
Brian M — Google review
All the usual stores On one level in the heart of Michigan City. Visited the Ralph Lauren and Levi stores. They were both stocked well with outlet only clothes. The stores were neat and clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly at both locations. You can hit your favorite stores within a couple hours or less and hit the road.

It's cool, It has good shops, There's a comic museum here now, only 10 bucks, if you like comics its pretty awesome and theres some arcade games that come free with admission.I never see many people here but I hope more go because it really needs to stay in buisness. Good place to have in Michigan City, it's a cool little place that I want to see thrive. Nike outlet is always my go to.

I had a very enjoyable experience at Lighthouse Outlets. The shopping area was well-kept and easy to get around, and the staff was friendly at each store. I was especially impressed by the variety of merchandise available from top name outdoors vendors (Northface, Columbia, Nike, Eddie Bauer) with plenty of great deals to choose from. Overall, it made for a fun and worthwhile shopping trip. #rawr

Make sure you appendix carry to where nobody can see you print… The very liberal security guard asked if I had a firearm of course I told him yeah I showed him my permit. He said I wasn’t allowed to have it which is bullshit but since I’m on private property theoretically he’s probably right that’s what their rules are. Just make sure you appendix carry where they can’t see it. He told me to put it back in my car. I just swapped It… really weird He would ask me that right in front of a bunch of younger kids that would break in my car There. If my car ends up having a broken window Another review… He also drove past those younger kids, probably Signaling i had a 🔫 Car I wouldn’t doubt it. The bad guy ever shoots at him I’m not helping him Not wasting my ammo to save liberals
Black L — Google review
The mall is huge and it might take you more than a day if you are planning to visit each and every shop. I went there twice during my two week trip and found the place very reasonable for purchasing clothing, jackets and shoes. It has great deals and you will definitely find something worth buying from here. It's hardly a 40-45 minutes drive from Stevensville. Loved the pace and bought good enough stuff from this place which made it worth the visit. I would recommend visiting this place as it's much closer than Tanger mall outlet (grand rapids) with a good enough variety of clothing available for purchase.
Anup M — Google review
Used to be a nice place I went there Friday majority of the stores are closed look spooky I only seen a few people walking around shopping after seeing a black guy with a ski mask on walking around I left I see enough of that where I live I wouldn't never waste anymore time going out there.
Devon S — Google review
Took my family shopping while in michigan city and had a good time. Some stores are ok while other just seem very overprices for being an "outlet mall". Kids enjoyed, that's all that mattered.

Blue Chip Casino Hotel Spa

Casino
Casinos & Gambling
Blue Chip Casino Hotel Spa is a sprawling casino complex with modern rooms, casual dining options, and multiple nightclubs. Situated across from Trail Creek Marina in Michigan City, the riverboat-style casino has expanded significantly since its establishment in 1997. The addition of a 22-story tower in 2009 made it the tallest building in Northwest Indiana outside of South Bend.
First off, everyone at the Bluechip hotel and casino were absolutely amazing, and made getting married there a great experience! Their wedding coordinator C.J. was a god send and took all of the worry, anxiety and stress completely off our plates and put together the most beautiful wedding for us!! I highly recommend you go see her and let her put together and amazing experience like she did for us! The venue was perfect, the food was great and the staff is second to none! Polite and more than accommodating! Just an absolutely perfect day because of them. We cannot thank everyone there enough! Especially C.J.!! Thank you again for everything!! Jake and Brandy Perry
Jake P — Google review
Overall not a bad experience, but it’s obvious this is not a favored location by the ownership group. We were in the Blue Chip Tower which is the older building and not specified when booking. The hallways, doors, and stairways definitely need updating. Our room was fine, the bathroom seemed newly updated and had a great shower. No microwave, but we do have a fridge, safe, and coffee maker. The pool area could use some updates, and the hot tub was unusable it was so hot unfortunately. The large pool temperature was nice though. Our neighbor’s TV may as well be in our room it’s so loud through the thin walls. The AC is also loud, but easy to adjust on the wall. The best part of staying at the casino is entertainment for the end of the night and location. Less than 15 minutes to all sorts of chain shopping and restaurants in Michigan City and walking distance to local restaurants and a decent sized outlet mall. Less than a half hour drive to the dunes. The price is a little high for what we got, but overall our stay was fine.

A huge thank you to CJ and her entire staff for doing such an amazing job for my daughter’s wedding this past weekend! Every detail was handled beautifully, and the whole event went off without a single glitch. The team was incredibly helpful, professional, and made the day stress-free for our family. Although we did not personally stay at the hotel, our guests shared how comfortable the rooms and beds were—which made the celebration even more enjoyable for them. We are so grateful for all your hard work and support in making this such a special and memorable day. Thanks again for everything!

Blue Chip Casino is a fun spot with a nice variety of games and good food options. The casino is clean and easy to get around, which made the visit enjoyable. The only downside was the lack of enthusiasm from the employees — customer service could definitely be warmer and more engaging. Still, I had a good time overall and would come back.
Thomas A — Google review
We held our wedding at Blue Chip. From the moment with met with CJ (the coordinator) to the moment we walked down the aisle, it was smooth sailing. CJ answered questions timely and never made me feel like I was asking a dumb question. I told numerous people, if you don’t have a CJ, you should get one. Our families were able to enjoy our wedding day with us and not have to spend the day setting up. The food was amazing. I can go on and on.

That maintenance guy Carl is super creepy. Seeing how he acts around the housekeeping ladies is just sickening. I definitely wouldn’t trust him around women or children and working in or around a hotel is not the place. Very disturbing and very very rude. Something needs to be done about that. The girls are visibly uncomfortable around him and he made my wife super uncomfortable even when I was around. We left the room shortly after he left and heard the way he was acting around the cleaning girls. He seems very sketchy to both of us and just the way he talks to the housekeeping girls made it a very unsettling experience and we felt bad for the girls. We can only imagine how he is toward other coworkers that work with him. Action needs to be taken against that guy because it’s a very hostile environment around him not only for guests but the girls just trying to do their jobs. I wouldn’t recommend going there and dealing with that. A place to relax and have fun wasn’t relaxing or fun at all. Beware for sure is the easiest way to say that!!! I also don’t usually write too many reviews but that experience was out of this world and very very unsettling. It has to known

We love coming here, our rooms are always clean, but we always smell weed/pot sometimes bad! Kinda crazy since it's not legal in Indiana! Infusion has really good food, we wanted their wings special n they were sold out, so hubby got me chili, him chicken tenders, the chili was Awesome, the tenders were too!
Anne M — Google review
The check in was very easy the front desk attendants were very knowledgeable. The room prices were inline with the prices on the website and other sites. I did a last minute check in and i was very pleased with the options. Check out was simple. The restaurants were open late and the casino was always busy. The rooms were nice and clean. The only takeaway would be the beds. They weren't that comfortable. I actually left with a back ache. I would definitely suggest upgrading the mattresses. Beyond that the stay was great.

Tippecanoe Mall

Shopping mall
Shopping
Clothing chain with trendy apparel, shoes & accessories for teen girls & young women.
Love it there it so fun shopping there I wish they add more stores though
Damion M — Google review
There are no many stores in this mall, and even there is no many clothing brands which is disappointing for teenagers. This is the only shopping mall for Lafayette, they need to develop this mall with more clothing brands and many other stores for teenagers. In present this mall is super disappointing.
Ashton S — Google review
So many awesome stores and kiosks to browse!
Pétite A — Google review
This mall has a lot to choose from from food to clothing stores, accessories and more they have a lot. Pay less retail outlet had some of everything. Pictures, posters, clothing etc. He can personalize shirts too. I will definitely come back.
Sara K — Google review
It's great to have a thriving mall in this day and age. Honestly it's a bonding activity with my teens, to walk around the mall. I share stories of my youth, we chat about what we see, and we grab a drink and possibly a snack in the food court. It reminds us that we aren't so different and I too was young once. Amazon can't do that for me.
Brooke W — Google review
Was pleasantly surprised to see that Tippecanoe Mall is still alive and doing well (as malls go these days). Good mix of national stores termination, to go with the random small retail shops that seemed to have taken over every other mall. Macy's, Dick's sporting goods, Old Navy and Kohl's serve as anchors
Kyle B — Google review
Went to Dick's for my son's cleats! They were extremely helpful and answered all my questions! I will forever go here for all my son's football gear! They have multiple options to chose from!

Harrah's Hoosier Park Casino Racetrack is a popular gaming and entertainment destination in the Indianapolis area. Originally a harness racing track, it has evolved into a year-round racino with a large casino floor offering various gaming options. The highlight of the calendar is the Dan Patch Stakes, attracting visitors for live harness racing from April to November. The venue also features indoor and outdoor concert venues, multiple dining choices, and drinking options.
This is undeniably a wonderful place to unwind and try your luck. I greatly enjoyed playing the slots and tables, adding an exciting touch to my visit. The establishment exudes a sense of cleanliness that is commendable and adds up to the overall excellent experience. I had an absolutely good time and would confidently recommend it to anyone looking for mild, enjoyable entertainment. It's certainly a place you would love to spend some pleasurable moments.
Lonny W — Google review
This review is strictly for the horse racing track, I have not been into the casino yet. I had a wonderful time watching harness racing at Hoosier Park. I've been to lots of Thoroughbred races before, but this was my first time seeing harness racing live. The track was setup nice. You can get right down on the rail at the finish line. The staff were all friendly.

Been here waiting for at least 30 mins to get this issue fixed. Found a staff walking around and said he couldn't help, got to wait for someone to come. Place is definitely understaffed. Edit: Woah! Ended leaving the machine as it was taking forever, but a fellow patron walked up to me at a different slot machine, completely different area, after like 2 hours later to let me know staff had taking fixed the issue and a voucher should be with the security. Super cool! Place may be understaffed but the customers are all super cool!. 3 stars now for amazing folks here
Joseph I — Google review
I went here around my birthday and had some fun. The casino itself is pretty nice. They have a good variety of different games to play. I like how close the location is to me so I don’t have to drive hours to get to it. I’d say my biggest complaint would be that there were a lot of cigarette butts left sitting on the slot. Some weren’t even In try’s. They were just left on the machine. Also in the same vein it smelt heavy of cigarettes in there. But other than that it’s a decent casino.
Abby S — Google review
This has been a great place to visit. I enjoy just taking 20 bucks and trying my luck. Sometimes I get lucky and sometimes I don't. The atmosphere is great, it's clean, and have had some amazing conversations with people I just met. And enjoying the new food places they've recently added.. Definitely want to add this as a date night with your special someone..
Amber L — Google review
The upgrades they have made have improved the overall atmosphere and experience. Food is good and prices are as expected at a place like this. The more open concept is good for mobilty accessibility. Not very accessible for visually impaired, though. The restrooms all have 2 accessible stalls. Due to the type of patrons at this location (a lot of elderly), more accessible parking spaces (especially van accessible parking) would give this 5 stars from me.
Marie H — Google review
I was on vacation with family for a family reunion and we were taking here. It was a beautiful experience. Mom in a walker parking easy and elevator. I'm not personally one to visit casinos. However, the staff were nice with consideration for my mother. Confused on a lot of machines so I lost 35 within 10 minutes of play time. However I walked to find machines I'm more use to. I played 400 and cashed at for 440. So I broke even with a 5 in my pocket. My only complaint is no sit down restaurant, plus only sandwich type food. Nice place to watch football games also

Mounds State Park, situated along the White River near Anderson, is a historical site preserving ten earthworks constructed by the Adena culture over 2,100 years ago. These ancient mounds are believed to have been used for religious ceremonies and are accessible via scenic trails. The park offers various recreational activities such as hiking, fishing, swimming, and camping. Visitors can explore the impressive Great Mound, which features a large circular earthwork enclosure with a central platform.
The old Indian cultures centered in the Indiana, Ohio & Pennsylvania area were very advanced in certain skills & knowledge. There were hundreds of Mounds built that stretched into the South and Mid-Atlantic, too. Lined up in consonance withe the North Star and other planetary objects. This state park has excellent examples of them.

Pictures kinda describe my feelings when adventure was over!!! Ha. Be prepared to walk. Had mid age grandkids and a fine spring day to enjoy. Restrooms open at the time of our visit in April

This is a beautiful park with easy trails and breathtaking views. At some point, I wondered if I should start looking for hobbit homes! The history of the mounds is really cool and the main reason for visiting!

There’s more to this park then meets the eye. At the center of it, Is this 2000 year-old Adena Hopewell earthwork that is a must see. Looks like a stage or a solar observatory to not only track celestial objects but to dance amongst the stars and moon. The state park is beautiful and well taken care of. I highly recommend coming here and taking a walk and checking out the scenery.

We took Muffin here and I was shocked at how far she walked! It’s mostly shady, which is super nice. There are benches and places to sit along all the trails which is great if you’re out of shape like me 🤣

Nice trails at Mounds State Park. You want to see the fall colors on the trees, go for a hike! It is much prettier in the woods than driving around in a car. Trails 2&4 were listed as Rugged, but I didn't find them difficult at all. They do have a couple good size Boardwalks with some stairs. I enjoyed all the trails today and will be back.

Cardinal Greenway Muncie Depot Trailhead

Hiking Trails
This paved trail offers a lot of view variety from the views of downtown including several historic homes, to river views and also some country. It includes several bridges each with its own character. The area continues to inprove the path. Sone is quite flat and some is a little hillier. For us, it made a nice variety. We only rode a few miles but look forward to more extensive travel on it in the future. We started atthe Depot trailhead and it felt like a safe area.
Janet S — Google review
The trail is well designed and maintained, I biked from Richmond to Muncie and back in late March 2024. For people who are biking long distances, we really need the water sources turned on, I realize that they are turned off due to possible freezing weather. Otherwise it was a good workout

A very nice place to kick around and have a little break while you were walking

I love the Cardinal Greenway! It’s a great local resource and I’m on it nearly every day. The Greenway staff do a great job keeping the Greenway clear, especially after stormy weather. It has a number of trailheads, many of which have portable toilets.

This old Muncie train depot was a really cool stop on my road trip. The gentleman inside was extremely helpful and friendly. He pointed out the low spot in the floor where the ticketmaster stood. Such beautiful architecture. Now a stop on the bike path.

Very nice rails-to-trails bike path. The pavement outside of Muncie is some of the smoothest I've ridden. Tree roots are starting to push up the pavement in a few places, but it's still very smooth overall.

Such a lovely mill in a cozy little town. The state museum does such a great job with education about the history and operation of the mill. Be sure to call ahead and ask about the times for grind demos where you can watch fresh corn being ground into cornmeal and grits. You can buy it right here on the spot! I love making jalapeño cornbread from the Metamora Grist Mill cornmeal.

We just purchased the Professional HD. When we took it out of the box the logo was bent and peeling off. Very disappointing after spending so much money. Needs better quality assurance control. I know they had a backlog of orders to process but still this is no excuse. I hope we find nothing else wrong and that this was just a small mistake. Made in America is great and so should the quality.

Once a year we go to the KitchenAid Experience to shop during the Greenville sidewalk sales, and what a great time! Their high quality merchandise is a wonderful addition to my kitchen, where I do a lot of cooking and baking, and the store itself is beautiful! It even has a section in the basement that is like a small museum, where you learn about the evolution of this dynamic company!

Lines were long, but people were patient and pleasant. Hard to look at everything due to lines and what I really wanted didn't go on sale until Saturday. However, they do take phone orders, know your item SKU, if possible. I think someone said free shipping on orders over $50. Fun to do once, but I'll shop online or via phone next time. 😉

Hueston Woods State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
Parks
Recreation area with lodging, camping, hiking, fishing, canoeing & fossil-hunting opportunities.
I have not visited this state park for over 30 years so this was a trip back to memory lane. We did some hiking on the Big Woods and Sugarbush trails through their Beech and Maple virgin forest which is truly a deep woods experience. We also got in the Cedar Falls trail which I highly recommend. The Lodge and Cabin areas are pretty much as I remember without having changed much so they appeared a little dated. We drove through the campground both the areas with electric and those without and saw the places I first camped as a kid about 55 years ago. The Lake Loop round is currently closed near the marina due to a bridge being replaced. The roads in some places need replacement since they look like they have only been heavily patched over the last 30 years. We also got a chance to see and walk the dam holding back Acton Lake. Overall a good day outside.

The park has a variety of options for your stay including RV, tent, lodge, cabin, equestrian, primitive and groups. There is a large Pavillion in the campground. They provide many activities such as nature walks, flora and fauna talks, and more. Acton Lake offers a beach, marina, and fishing. You can rent boats as well. There are 18 hiking trails of various lengths and difficulty.

Nestled in Hamilton, Ohio, the Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park & Museum is a captivating outdoor museum that seamlessly integrates art with nature. The park features a diverse collection of sculptures set against the backdrop of meadows, forests, and gardens. Visitors can explore the stunning artworks while immersing themselves in the natural landscape. This non-profit park offers an enriching experience for art enthusiasts, families, and nature lovers alike.
My wife, our dog and love this park. It's an amazing experience for those that enjoy art and nature and its all in one place. The golf carts are a great addition that allows you to see the whole park in one day if you want to! I always recommend this place to friends and family but advice them to bring some water if they're planning on walking!
Crafty R — Google review
Unique park with different art inside. Opted to rent a golf cart and that was fun but a bit too pricey. Overall it's a neat place to visit but I don't think I will go back. History of the owner was not appealing and it was lots of empty space. Good to visit once but I'd say that was enough
Debbie B — Google review
Cute park with varied sculptures. Not as big as I was expecting. I wish it were more walkable and less centered on vehicles/golf carts. We spent about 1.5 hours there. Not sure if it was worth $30 each but we had a good time! We also wished we could buy tickets in advance online, but they do take credit cards at their stand as your drive in.
Emma C — Google review
Recently became a member here after my first visit and was bringing a car full of ppl with me a week later. Closer to any antiquities than ever before. Its like a museum but you get a better view to the displays. The staff has been very nice too.
Dan G — Google review
Great place to take a walk and look at sculptures. 2 major problems though. 1 a lot of the art is placed a long way from the walking trail with no paths up to it. Have fun tromping through the grass. 2nd problem, the gallery loop is supposed to be a 2 mile walk, we were roughly 2.5 miles into the walk and cut across the hill to finish the walk. Management any place that has crossing roads and trails needs to have clearly marked signage!!! Fix the 2 problems and this becomes a 4 to 5 star review

Filled with scriptures outside as you drive thru, walk or rent a golf cart. Beautiful setting. 400 acres of beautiful nature. 3 Museums filled with extraordinary pieces of art. A must see for sure.

Renting an Art Cart at the Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park is a fun and efficient way to explore, especially if you have a limited time. It allowed us to see everything the park has to offer, from the many sculptures to the two on-site museums. A highlight was touring The Pyramid House, the former home of park founder Harry T. Wilks, where it all began. The museum guide was very informative, providing a deeper appreciation for the art and the park's history.

Jungle Jim's International Market in Fairfield is a food lover's dream, offering over 180,000 items from 70+ countries. The store features unique displays and animatronics, making it an exciting place to explore. With a vast selection of international eats and 1400 types of cheese, it's perfect for picking up a dinner for a romantic picnic or a cozy night in. Visitors recommend visiting on weekdays to avoid crowds and appreciate the friendly and knowledgeable staff.
I don’t know how anybody could give this market/amusement park. Anything less than five stars! When you pull up to the parking, make sure you pay attention. If you’re on the giraffe, or the rhino side, I didn’t realize that there was different sides to the parking lot and exited on the rhino side when I needed to exit the giraffe side. With that side, you will be entertained and taken back to some classics, candy, toys, so many things to look at and experience! The bakery section is amazing. What the heck is a butter bar, that was awesome! So many varieties of wine, and cigars! Temperature controlled! They have thought of everything and just a great place to walk around, and just look at. Great groceries, very unique, gable items, and very unique foods, some, I thought might’ve been a little pricey, but overall, what a great experience! I have been wanting to come here for several years, my daughter is in Kentucky, and decided to drive-through to check this place out. I will definitely need to come back with an ice cooler!

I NEED a place like this near my house! I've never seen such an incredible produce and international food selection in one place before! FG — Google review
I loved this store it had almost everything from different countries. No matter if it was food to household stuff. Sure something could be a little expensive to buy but that is with any store. Like for instance I told my girls that I’d rather stay in Canada then go to Russia depression items expensive we’ve been doing in the store. They were right next-door, one step to the right there in Russia. It was kind of cool to think we can travel all around the world without leaving United States. The negative about the place was sometimes it was crowded in areas with people. but with that being said, it wouldn’t stop me from coming again. The girls would like to go back at some point my girls would like to go back and do a cooking class there. And this is nothing to do with the store, but if you bring your kids and they like weird food and snacks, be prepare to have some money with you and a nose plug because you will get all kinds of smells from fish to age old cheese etc. FYI the have pretty good ice cream shop on the inside I especially love the caramel apple pie ice cream

Love this place! Eye candy everywhere!!! So many things to look at, see and be delighted by. All the international foods and products you could ever want. Plus your regular groceries in the middle. There's something for everyone here! Sweets, a full bakery with beautiful cakes. Plenty of aisles of everything from all the various countries around. A fish market, fruit and produce, all kinds of cheese. I can't begin to say what all I saw so I added some pictures to tell ya!!

All I can say about this place is…WHAT??? It’s such a huge store with a huge variety of everything you can think off from toys, kitchen supplies to literally thousands of food aisles filled with international foods. Every corner was a new surprise, the place is filled of cool statues and animatronics (the Elvis one freaks me out but he is chill) and the vibes are just so cool. This place is a 10/10 from the parking lot to the bathrooms and more. Would definitely recommend this experience to everyone and I can’t wait to be back! 😁

This is probably one of the best grocery stores ive ever been in! The selection in all international foods is exceptional! This is a must have place on your bucket list! We spent hours in here and could have spent a lot more!!

What a fun place to shop. There are other businesses attached to this building as well. The decor at Jungle Jim's is really wild. There is fun lifsize decor all throughout this place , always be looking around and specially look up. It's hard to shoo this store and see everything and not miss a section as the aisles are all lined up and there is additional sections all over the store. We went on our way home and it was supposed to be a quick trip. We ended up being inside for 4 hours and left not even seeing it all. The groceries available are from all over the world. If your a cheese fan , this is cheese heaven with cheeses from all over the world and many coolers full.

Great park to relax, have a picnic and even has shelter houses to use. There is a huge splash pad for kids. Skateboard park and even a nice level walking trail. I have to admit I love to take my lunch go to the park and watch plans land or take off as well as hot air balloons. Totally worth visiting and finding something fun to do.

Awesome spot for relaxing and having a picnic or skydiving even! Soccer fields and great Christmas lights for FREE! Fishing pond and skate park... Wide open spaces. What else do you need except a kids splash pad and bathrooms which they also have ! Fantastic park for the local people there !

We moved out of the area 20 years ago. While visiting family, who still live in the area, we visited Smith Park. We were surprised it hadn't changed much, but it is (and always was) a nice park to take your kids OR your furry family members. Decent playground, plenty of parking, picnic tables and walking trail.
Peggy G — Google review
Went here during the hot air balloon festival. It was reasonable and fun. They had airplane rides by the butler county warbirds which the museum is near by and great to go spend some time there. They have helicopter rides and tethered hot air balloon rides as well sponsored by someone else. The car show was cool and so was the air show. The shops that set up most was local with great merchandise and nice owners. I enjoy coming here every year. It just keeps getting better.
Amber — Google review
It is a rather large park with lots to do. We went just for the playground. It was decent. Kind of lack luster considering the size of the park. They did have a small splash pad which was closed for the season. My kids had fun but its not a playground I would go out of my way to go to.
Stephanie L — Google review
My son and I enjoy the splash pad and park. The skate park in the back is very nice too. We play soccer here during the week and its a very family friendly park. It offers awnings to cook out, gather, or even a birthday party. It also has bike trails and a pond to feed the ducks. It can be very busy at times but still a nice place to have fun with your kids.

We love smith park, but the geese are a bit much since they literally poop on everything. We went a couple of days ago and the splash pad was covered in geese poop. I hope it's clean now

So excited to be in town when the Pumpkins are in. Soon around the big tree out front you will find 2-3.00 pumpkins. Not sure on exact price.

MINIs of Cbus drove out from Columbus, well worth the drive! Fantastic farm out in the country with a large farm market along with a greenhouse. Lots of variety of locally grown produce and other goodies. Depending on the time of year, you can even berry pick or enjoy their sweet corn festival. Definitely recommend!

Was at the market and could not believe all of the options they had for fresh fruits and vegetables among other things. It has really grown over the years. I was also pleasantly surprised how beautiful the hanging plants and flowers were. The customer service was outstanding. It's nice to have grown up in small town Troy and be able to get farm fresh produce and know where exactly it comes from. The Fulton family and their employees are all very attentive and so kind. Will be visiting this weekend for their sidewalk sale. Keep up the great work ...looking forward to upcoming events.

Carillon Historical Park is a 65-acre open-air museum in Ohio that offers visitors a journey through Dayton's rich history, inventions, and transportation milestones. Established in 1940, the park showcases the region's heritage from its founding in 1796 to contributions during World War II.
Such an awesome place! You'll be doing a lot of walking, but it's worth it. There's a lot of cool stuff to see! Be sure to ride the train! It takes you around the whole park and gives you some interesting historical facts. Definitely a fun place for kids too! If it's a weekend or special event, I'd purchase your tickets online beforehand. Plenty of parking, staff is nice and the food at the cafe is pretty good! Get the pancakes 👌🏼

Lots of different and unique displays many dealing with Dayton history and manufacturing. There were displays that interest kiddos of all ages. There is a half scale train that was running every hour, a tube slide and a carousel. There was an enormous display of cash register and some toys manufactured in the area. An interactive model train town was very popular. Various displays of trains, Street cars, bicycles, early cars, and Wright brothers and birth of flight.

Wonderful place to go and spend the day learning and reminiscing about Dayton and all its contributions. Brought back so many memories and was able to tell grandkids about the places. So many neat things to see and learn about. They do a great job of restoring and maintaining the vast museum items and artifacts. They even have a working carousel and train, and you can’t forget about the working printing press. They have a great section about the devastating 1913 flood. This place is to be enjoyed by young and old alike. And if you’re adventurous enough, climb the 8 story tower that holds the old Gem City clock. So much to see.

A must-visit gem in Dayton! Carillon Historical Park is one of the most impressive and well-designed historical sites I’ve ever visited. It perfectly blends education, history, and nature — making it enjoyable for both adults and kids. From the moment you enter, you can tell how much care and effort has gone into preserving Dayton’s incredible history, especially its deep connection to innovation and aviation. The exhibits are fascinating — especially the Wright Brothers section, which gives you a real sense of how much Dayton contributed to the world of flight. The Carillon Tower itself is breathtaking, both in scale and in the way it symbolizes the city’s heritage. I also loved exploring the old buildings, vintage trolleys, and beautifully restored machinery — it truly feels like stepping back in time. The park grounds are beautifully maintained, with peaceful walking paths, scenic spots for photos, and plenty of benches to relax. The staff and volunteers are friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do — they make the history come alive. Don’t miss the Brewery and the Carillon Brewing Co., where you can enjoy excellent food and locally brewed beer in a historical atmosphere — it’s such a unique experience! Whether you’re a history lover, an aviation enthusiast, or just looking for a great day out in Dayton, Carillon Historical Park is absolutely worth the visit. It’s educational, inspiring, and beautifully done — a true treasure for the city and anyone who loves American history. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

New to the Ohio area and live about 25 minutes South of here so we decided to come check it out. Really glad we did! First the people working here are awesome. Helpful, kind and informative. We walked the entire area, road the big train and even jumped on the little train for a ride. Little train isn't always available to ride but apparently we came on the right day...throws you back to feeling like a kid for a few minutes! The grounds are kept up well, the walk is easy and relaxing and the big train is a nice relaxing ride around the park. Sit is the right place near one of the staff and they'll fill you in on the history and anything else you would want to know about. The park is full of history. I had no idea about the industrial impact Dayton had on the country at one time. Each stop at a new building is rich with information and there are plenty of cool things to look at. Wright brothers Museum was just as good as the rest of the park. Much larger than expected and lots of details about the Wright brother and their first flights. Overall it was neat to be thrown back in time and see where innovation has brought us. Even if you're not a big fan of history, it's worth the visit to check out some cool things on a relaxing walk around the park.

Absolutely love it! It was a spontaneous decision to go here as a date. It was a hit like escaping the city and going on vacation. You really will feel like you're not in Dayton Ohio. They have many things to see, and you must get the all-day train pass. Then before you leave, get some of the great food at their restaurant!

I visited Carillon Historical Park for the antique fire apparatus show and had a fantastic experience. The National Museum of the US Air Force, located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio, is a sprawling aviation museum that first opened in 1923. It boasts an impressive collection of about 360 aircraft and weaponry, making it the largest military aviation museum globally. The museum offers various attractions such as flight simulators, a 3D theater, and war-themed exhibits.
Absolutely incredible experience. A museum like no other I've ever been to before in my life. I was super stoked to see the SR-71 and the Air Force one plane that JFK used. What an experience and I wouldn't change a thing. The main key is being able to interact with so many of the aircraft and my little guy loved being able to climb into cockpit and pretend he was a fighter pilot. The missile silo was huuuuge and nothing like I've ever seen before. The staff and volunteers were very nice and interactive as well. We were able to come on a random week day when it wasn't busy so we were able to enjoy ourselves without huge crowds. We will definitely be back!!
Scott J — Google review
Great air and history museum! You could easily spend an entire day here. Great historical explanations surrounding the exhibits and very organized. We've been there several times with the kids through the years and always had a great time. Most recently, my daughter and I visited during a "plane talk" event and were able to meet several retired members of the flight crew of different aircraft. Highly recommend!
Stacy F — Google review
The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force is truly one of the most impressive museums I’ve ever visited — and the fact that it’s completely free makes it even more unbelievable. The size of the place is massive, and each hangar takes you deeper into the history of aviation, space exploration, and the U.S. Air Force’s role around the world. The exhibits are incredibly well-organized, starting from early flight history and leading all the way to modern jets, stealth aircraft, and even space capsules. Walking through the hangars feels like stepping through different eras — from WWII bombers to Cold War jets to presidential aircraft. Seeing Air Force One up close and being able to walk inside some of the planes is such a unique experience. Every area is spotless and very well-maintained, and the amount of information available is impressive without being overwhelming. There’s something for everyone — whether you love military history, aviation technology, or just want to see some amazing aircraft in person. The staff and volunteers are also very friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate, which adds so much to the visit. You can easily spend several hours here without even realizing how much time has passed. The museum is perfect for families, tourists, history lovers, and honestly anyone who enjoys seeing something truly extraordinary. This is without a doubt one of Dayton’s biggest treasures, and a must-visit destination for anyone in the area.
Unal G — Google review
Aviation history at its finest—absolutely world-class. This museum is a national treasure. From the Wright brothers to stealth bombers, the scale and depth of the exhibits are staggering. Four massive hangars packed with legendary aircraft, including the X-15, SR-71, and the B-29 that dropped the second atomic bomb. You can even walk through presidential planes like the one Lyndon Johnson was sworn in on. One of the most compelling exhibits is the story of “Flying the Hump”—the daring WWII airlift over the Himalayas to resupply Chinese forces after the Japanese cut off the Burma Road. Pilots flew from India to China through brutal weather, 18,000-foot altitudes, and zero navigation aids. It was dubbed the “Skyway to Hell”, and rightly so: over 500 aircraft were lost, and more than 1,300 crew members perished. Yet this mission was vital to keeping China in the fight and ultimately helped turn the tide in the Pacific Theater. The layout is intuitive, the signage is clear, and the staff—many of them veterans—are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. Best part? Admission is free. You could easily spend a full day here (or several) and still not see everything. Whether you're an aerospace engineer, a military buff, or just curious about flight, this place will leave you inspired. One of the best museums in the country, hands down.
Jacques L — Google review
If you like airplanes and history, this is probably the best collection you'll ever see, minus the Smithsonian. Tons of interactive exhibits, for all ages. The volunteers are all super nice, especially the tour guides, and speak from a wealth of knowledge that's irreplaceable.
Mathew T — Google review
I cannot rate this place high enough! We had a pre-planned business event here with a catered lunch. We had the museum to ourselves (a group of 30 or so) due to the furlough, but they were able to accommodate us for the afternoon. I am a Navy Vet (specifically naval aviation) and history fanatic so I got to be a huge nerd and had a blast! They let us ride the scooters through the museum since they hadn’t been used in a while. And it was amazing seeing all these planes close up and to be able to read the history! I already want to plan a trip back, because I don’t think I even saw a fraction of what this place holds!!
Katie T — Google review
So glad we took the time to visit this place. It costs nothing to go in, and there's so much to see and do. My toddler had a great time getting to see everything. They also have several planes you get to go inside of or sit in the cockpit of. There are also several interactive exhibits that are great for kids. Overall, it's an amazing display of an important part of history, while also preserving it all exceptionally well.
Ronald K — Google review
Must-visit for any plane enthusiast. Didn't have as much time as would be needed to take everything in fully, but that was ok because admission is free, and I still got to see what I had hoped to. Only thing missing I would have liked to see was a C-5, but other than that they have all the sought after aircraft in the USAF fleet, including things like a B-2 and SR-71.

Water & Amusement Parks
Tropical-themed water park with white sand & palm trees, slides, rides, play areas & an arcade.
This is our new favorite water park! The prices were reasonable from tickets to food. The park was extremely clean, lifeguards were attentive, and the setting was so nicely done intertwined with nature. I have a teen down to a 5yr old and they all had a blast at this park! My favorite part was that it was not busy. I am tired of paying a fortune to wait in line all day and receive poor customer service like other larger water parks. This was unforgettable and we will be back!

Labor Day was the perfect day to go and they honored my Groupon that excluded that holiday. I really wish there were more umbrellas by the wave pool and a cleaner Lazy River.
Rose W — Google review
Lazy river is filthy, many slides have nearly no water pressure, people get stuck on many of the slides and have to scoot down. Water is dirty in some of the pools, and the staff is very rude and doesn't seem to care about anything. We complained to the staff about all of this and no one cared. Food is bad and overpriced. The bathrooms are also disgusting. The only decent thing we experienced was the wave pool. It's a shame the park is so poorly maintained because it's such a neat location among all the trees and it used to be so nice. But it has just gone downhill. Some of the things I can easily overlook, but the lack of water pressure on the slides is really the deal breaker. And I have seen many other reviews commenting about the same issue.
Ben M — Google review
About half the rides were shut down because they didn't have the staff to man them. 6 of 7 ticket counters were closed, so a long line at the one open counter. Same story at the concession stands - long lines and not enough help. The rides that were open were fun, but since everyone was crowded onto the few open rides, again, long lines. The place could be nice, but it has a tired, worn look and wasn't very clean. Not enough shade, not enough chairs or tables. I suppose they wanted us to put all of our stuff in one of their $15.00 lockers. The $10.00 parking charge was another unpleasant surprise. The rides all posted 250-pound weight limits for riders, but this was never enforced, raising questions about this establishment's safety culture.
XingjianR — Google review
Great staff, friendly people, and Live Reggae on Sundays keep me coming back. Season Passes are reasonably priced..and there's beer! :-) I've been coming for years and have made several longtime Friends as a result of my visits there. There's a kiddie section for the little ones and plenty to do for everyone else. I would definitely recommend a visit.
Gregory M — Google review
While the rides that were open were fun, there were a significant number of slides that were closed that poorly reflected the park on a day that a lot of new people would come (a carload of people for $50 after 4 pm). When all of the slides are open, I imagine that the park is much more appealing and operates a lot more smoothly especially if the park is fully staffed. If you go, don't expect for all of the slides to be open.
Zach F — Google review
We almost didn't go due to so many bad reviews but I'm glad we went. My kids had a good time. Two of the attractions were closed but it was still plenty to do. Some things could have been better but that's everywhere. For the saturday carload price i say its well worth it! We would definitely go again!
P. D — Google review
Five of the attractions were closed (four slides and one children’s pool). Not worth the ticket price even after the slight discount you can get online or at Kroger. Also, the pools had a lot of debris and leaves. I am aware it can’t all be removed but it appeared there was little attempt to clean them prior to opening that day. We made our one and only trip-we won’t be back.
Emily K — Google review
Awesome place, perfect for family time, a lot of water slides...
Adriana G — Google review
It's been a number of years since my family has been here but they closed down our favorite section of the park. There is very little shade and not enough double tube slides for parents riding with children that are to big for the kiddie area but too small to go alone down the bigger slides. The life guards seemed unhappy to be here. The lines were reasonable and the bathrooms were clean. We will be going to a bigger park next time, where even though the tickets will cost more, I feel like I will get my monies worth.

Kings Island is a vast amusement park with thrilling rides, including roller coasters and a wave pool. The park features a lifelike exhibit of dinosaurs that adds to the excitement. Along with restaurants, shops and novelties, Kings Island offers seasonal celebrations such as Halloween haunt and winter fest. With their 50th anniversary, they have added new attractions which makes it an exciting experience for visitors of all ages.
Amazing experience rides were all super fun and not to long of a wait for the rides. The Eiffle tower was cool to see and the music and atmosphere was super nice. If you love rides I suggest going here. Parking wasnt too bad but we did part pretty far. Food was decently priced as well. There is also a bridge not far south that you can walk across or drive to get to Kentucky
Connor S — Google review
Just finished our very first visit to Kings Island for their Halloween haunt event. Overall it was a great time. The theming for Halloween around the park, especially at night was immersive, and well put together. The amount of rides, especially coasters, was also great, even though there’s only 2 truly great ones there in Orion, and Diamondback. The only issue is with the operations, as a lot of the workers around the park, are young, and very misinformed on the parks policies, or pass info. Ride operations were great as far as the speed they were dispatching rides, but also huge drawback is that on every single coaster aside from Diamondback, they tell you where to sit. For coaster enthusiasts this is a very bad thing, as we typically like to ride in certain trains to get the full experience. That’s the only reason for dropping a star. The Haunt event was decent with scare zones full of actors, however the haunted mazes we went through aside from Conjuring which is a separate price, and kill mart, were very poorly set up. Very long lines, yet hardly any actors in them. Conjuring was decent but a bit overpriced, and kill mart was the best scare attraction in the park by a mile. The dining plan is confusing but pays off easily. The night time show at the end was top notch as well. Some things could be improved but for the amount of stuff to do there, getting tickets especially during the sales is a no brainer. Looking forward to coming back soon!

I met my family for a day of fun in early October. The park was so well done for their Halloween Haunt. The park offered a great mix of scary and fun rides and activities for kids of all ages. We bought the package and the fast lane/ express lane option during the haunt which was well worth the money. We also also bought the drink option that ended up being one of the best investments we ever made. It was so hot that day and we were able to stay hydrated without breaking the bank. The icing on that he cake was the Conjourng! Highly recommend!!

I have gone 4 times this year so far. Love the family friendly environment and adult friendly vendors here. Very well kept park with good selection of rides. I don't recommend going on Saturday especially during the haunt season! Unless you enjoy 2-3hr lines for everything..
Jerrin J — Google review
I mean come on, it’s Kings Island, one of the best amusement parks in the world, what can I say? The Haunt is extremely well done, much better than Carowinds, Kings Dominion or any of the Six Flags parks’ versions. If you like coasters and great atmosphere and fun, this should be a top destination for your travel plans.
Joey G — Google review
They are not joking when they say the operations here are world class. I think the diamondback trains dispatch 3 seconds after the back row people sit down, because the workers have already buckled and checked all the front rows by then. It’s crazy. Incredible night rides on the Beast, and you know it’s true because many people in my party agree that it was worth the 140 minute wait. Pro tip go at dusk and line up so that it’s dark by the time you reach the front, otherwise you will waiting for hours like us and the rest of the park. Insanely well rounded top five coasters here too.
N W — Google review
Came here a few times with a season pass this year, a good time each visit. Definitely recommend to get at least a gold pass which includes Haunt nights during Halloween. Be advised, haunted houses are NOT included in the pass, you’ll need a separate arm band that’s $10 you can get the day of.

Had a great family day for Labor Day Weekend! Plenty of parking and fun! Bought tickets online before we arrived and walked right over from the Great Wolf Lodge! Snoopy Land was fun for a few rides -we had a 7 & 8 year old so we were in between rides but still enjoyed ourselves. The Eiffel Tower was great for them to experience. The Ship Ride was a test of their courage. Lots of snack areas and drinks. Lots of bees around the soda area. Not a fan. Great shopping areas and Candy Zone -photos at entrance for the groups. The racer was fun and carousel. Will do the Waterpark next summer. Great time to enjoy. Lots of walking. Can’t wait to take them back as they get older.

My biggest concern on going to this place was if I would be too "fluffy" to get through the passage. I am also a bit claustrophobic. These two things made me very nervous. I can tell you that it is very possible to do even as a very pear shaped 280 LB person. There are the 60 stairs at the end, but they are concrete, with solid handrails and the step rise is reasonable. So if you struggle, position yourself to the back of the line, and you will have less pressure to move quickly. I found the tour guides patient and funny. I focused on taking pictures to get through it mentally. The place is lovely overall. I do find the ticket price a bit high, but I find every ticket price high lately. To be fair, it is in line with the many other attractions and museums etc. The place does allow water bottles in the cave, I wish I had realized that upfront and I was very parched at the end. If I could do it over, I would take my nicer camera. I took an older one just in case.

Took my family here for the first time and we all had an amazing time. Our tour guide Dan was very knowledgeable and did a good job on the tour. My kids also enjoyed the gem mining activity. The place was nice and clean, and they really did a good job preserving the cavern.

We've made it our mission to see all the caverns in Ohio and this is supposed to be one of the best and most colorful. The price is comparable to the other caverns (which is obnoxiously high) but we found ourselves walking out a bit underwhelmed. The tour guide was enjoyable and knowledgeable but the colors were seriously lacking for such a big claim. The formations and columns were cool and you end up going seriously deep underground but I enjoyed the self guided tours at one of the other caverns more than this tour.

We had SO much fun at the Caverns. Wonders around every corner and so incredible! Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The gift shop was spectacular and all the staff were helpful and pleasant. So blessed to have this place in Ohio. The kids also enjoyed the gem mining activity. So cool and exciting to see what they reveal in their bags. 10/10 experience. Thank you!

The Ohio Caverns were beautiful and worth the almost hour trip. Any longer probably unless you’re a traveling cave fanatic. Anyways with that being said the staff there is very nice and understanding my daughter bought tickets in advance but accidentally thought she for them for the weekend we decided to go. Unfortunately it was for the following week but they went a head and lets go that day instead. The tour guys are very knowledgeable as will. As for the cavern itself it is nice. But beware if you have claustrophobia really bad. I don’t recommend they will tell you how deep you are. If you are scared of the dark they will turn off the lights for a few moments so that you can see how dark it is if you were down there with no lights. But they will warn you before they turn them off. I also don’t recommend it for handicap people which need a walker, or wheelchair after all it is a cavern so there are low place and tight places and you have to climb 60 stairs to get out of the cavern. Now if you have a hard time walking after you make it out or if you are a elderly person who decided to go down with a cane they will send someone with a golf cart to take you back to the gift shop. You are allowed to take pictures with your phones with the flash on but not allowed to take video which is understandable since they do give you information about the caverns. If you can’t afford the caverns they do have a free trail of trees to adventure in and a lovely park; picnic area to eat and enjoy the view, and a nice gift shop to spend your money on for all those people who love all types of rocks yes I am talking about all you geologist. Lastly and most importantly if you are lucky to get to see the caverns please don’t touch the rock or the quartz down there there thing a have grown for thousands of years and will be there still growing even a small can take up 4,000 years to grow just that size. They are beautiful so please keep it that way so that everyone can see for future’s to come. Why I am saying this is because they showed a once beautiful peace of nature that they called a lucky stone that they used to let people touch on the way out that is now looks dirty from the oils of our human hands. So just be respectful and take photos and keep hands away.

We were staying at Indian Lake State Park and didn’t have many plans. Saw something for the caverns so decided to make the trip down and check them out. I’m glad we did. We did both the Historic and Natural Wonders tours. If you just want to see stalagmites and stalactites the natural wonders tour is perfect. If you like history and want to learn a little more about the area and discovery of the caverns then do the combo tour, I’m glad we did both. The caverns are 54 degrees year round. It’s been in the 90’s for the past week. I took a sweatshirt on the first tour but ended up being hot so left it in the car for the second tour. The colors are really neat and have some really cool designs. The formations are always pretty as they are always so different from place to place.

We did the nature tour and it never disappoints. Our guides were knowledgeable and their voices carried well throughout our group of around 10-12 people. My granddaughter enjoyed seeing all the formations in the caverns and wants us to take her cousins when they're in town for a visit.

I did both the history and natural wonder tours( recommend both) It started with the history tour and how it was discovered. There's not a lot of formations in this tour ( explained why in the tour) The natural wonder tour was amazing, each room we entered was beautiful. You will however hear the same jokes on both tours. But both guides were great

Ice cream shop
Young's Jersey Dairy is a multifaceted destination that offers an array of experiences for visitors. As a working dairy farm, it features a renowned ice cream shop known as the Dairy Store, which is celebrated for serving some of Ohio's finest milkshakes. Families can enjoy various activities such as mini-golf, batting cages, and opportunities to interact with animals like goats and cows during milking hours. The on-site Golden Jersey Inn restaurant provides delicious meals.
We had a wonderful experience here! I really appreciate that there’s no admission fee, allowing you to simply pay for the activities you choose—and the prices are very reasonable. The ice cream was absolutely delicious, and our kids had such a great time. Overall, it’s a fantastic spot for families to relax and enjoy themselves.

The food is ok, definitely could use some flavor. In my opinion it wasn't worth the price. The ice cream and cheese curds are good. They now have rides but I have two kids with a significant age gap. I was told my older child couldn't go in the play area that my younger child could go ( one of the few things he could do there). There was only one thing they could do together. So we weren't able to do much and it was very disappointing. The kids enjoyed the animals though.

I had an absolute blast here!!! I went for the first time the other day and who knew all the awesomeness that was there to experiance! A Carousel, Feeding Goats, All the pumpkins you can imagine, and not to mention the delicious Ice Cream!! 10/10 Recommend!

Such a fun fall activity! We got the adult wristbands and did the cornmaze, wagon ride, carousel, put put, and driving range. A very fun way to spend time with friends! (There is a foul smell on the right side of the farm due to sewage water they use to water their Christmas trees…so consider that).

It's a little pricey but worth it!! The staff is amazing and we already know the ice cream speaks for its self!! They have tons of stuff for the kids to do!! Its a great time, you won't be disappointed 😉

I haven’t been here in years and it’s changed so much but is still great! The food is wonderful and the staff are so kind. It gets busy but there are plenty of places to sit. Prices are what to expect for what I consider a destination place. There is so much to do there that we did not have time for. It would be a great day out for a family with children.

Great family fun. We made a trip here and played putt putt, saw the animals, and got some ice cream. There’s a lot of other activities that were closed for the night when we got there but we will be back again to try them out. A lot of ice cream flavors and options. There was also food available.

Frank Lloyd Wright's Westcott House

Mentioned on

Museum
Sights & Landmarks
The Westcott House, a prairie-style home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, has been restored and transformed into a museum. The architect's emphasis on integrating nature into the living space is evident in the design, with windows strategically placed to offer views of the surrounding park. The house features a reflecting pool and showcases Wright's favorite color, Cherokee Red, on its brick patio and fabric awning. Visitors can explore the history of the house and its former occupants through informative tours led by knowledgeable guides.
We had a friend come into town for the week and used that opportunity to go see this wonderful house. It starts off with a little movie, and a tour director takes you around the home. The director was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the history and restoration of the house. The architecture of this home is neat to see and experience the genius of the design. He used sunlight to his advantage to bring light into rooms in a spiceal way. The wood working on the built-in cabinets is amazing, and the layout is very clever. Taking into consideration the age, there is no accommodation for wheelchairs. I highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in homes of this style. Our tour took about an hour and a half and was well worth the price. I am now wanting to travel to other similar homes in Ohio to continue to see this master's work.

Well restored Frank Lloyd Wright work. Reasonably priced 1.5 hour tours of the building are available almost every day at multiple times. Gift shop and parking available. Would recommend as a day trip. We had a great time and learned a lot about the house, the family, and the architect.

Fascinating Frank Lloyd Wright house. Tours are scheduled, so buy tickets online and in advance. 90 minute tour is interesting whether you are a Wright expert or this is your first tour. Plenty of details and information about him and the house. The tour is required to see inside the house. Definitely worth the price of admission.
Brad W — Google review
Incredible tour with a super knowledgeable guide. Our guide packed so much information into our 90 minute tour-it was amazing. She gave us a history of the home and really shined a spotlight on the amazing restoration work that had been done. Would highly recommend for anyone with even a passing interest in architecture or design.
Cara T — Google review
We loved it! The tour guide made the whole visit. He clearly knew a lot about the house and FLW. You can tell he really loves sharing this with people and that really made it special. The house is beautiful and lovingly restored. You really get the feel that FLW was going for in this house. The gift shop is full of all sorts of fun things. I definitely want to go back for Christmas presents! This is not handicap accessible. There are multiple sets of stairs and no elevator.

Hidden gem in a diamond in the rough city. Springfield has such a rich architectural and cultural legacy, and it shines still despite economic downturns and negative news coverage. Don’t sleep on the Westcott House! It is a magnificent experience from start to end. Our tour guide was dynamic and super knowledgeable, and kept the entire tour engaging with captivating details.

Was not our first FLW tour … won’t be our last either. The docent spent over an hour and a half with our small group of 5. Very in depth tour and fascinating to hear about all the efforts (and successes) that went into renovations. Sort of a must do if you’re a fan of his style.

Renaissance Park

Event venue
It's a feast for the senses! Food, people, period, costumes, atmosphere, music, attitude, comedy, shopping, and a whole lot of fun for all ages. It offers a small relief from the modern social media age to one of more simple times. Pirates, vikings, fairies, and throw in some Star Wars for good measure. There's no shying away from costumes. Bring cash and a sense of whimsy and enjoy! Yes, you'll spend some serious change but it's all in good fun. ~$40 entry fee, $12 fish and chips, $12 meat on a stick, $12 Dole Whip in a cup, $5 pickle, etc etc etc... it adds up quick. But you're not here for value, you're here for experiences - and that's what you'll get!

Most amazing time!!! My 2 year old and 8 year old enjoyed it all day with all the different things to see and shows! It was so fun showing off our costumes and admiring all the other festival goers as well. If the cost of tickets is holding you back, splurge, we did and didn’t regret it! Will definitely go again next year :)
Krista C — Google review
you can tell this renaissance festival is one of the best in america! there are so many events and restaurants to eat at. we bought season passes and we still haven't eaten at every restaurant yet! the food and mead are always so good and there're so many places to shop!

Insanely huge and well done Faire full of loads of fun things to do for the whole family. Don’t expect modern rides or attractions. It’s all things you’d find from the period (with a few modern conveniences like bathrooms and garbage cans!). If you have costumes, wear them. More than half the people attending are fully decked out.

Always an amazing time. Fantasy weekend is my favorite. The food went up this year 17.50 for a burger and 7.50 to add fries. We ate when we left but dole whip is a good snack or cheesecake on a stick.
Lorretta K — Google review
As always, so much fun! Plus amazing food, can't wait to go back next year!
Maggie N — Google review
We came here for the Celtic festival, and love the atmosphere. Road was clearly marked, huge sign out on the road. The buildings were on point Renaissance themed. Parking on grass but a high hill so even after rain it wasn't muddy. Bathrooms were not outhouses, real running toilets which is surprising at a festival, this one is permanent. It's a fun place whatever event they are having. Also in early June, the Cicadas were EVERYWHERE, which made it interesting, a community togetherness when everyone was covering their drinks and batting at and catching them 😂😆 Even the bands were remarking how loud they were! But it added to the fun.

Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve

Nature preserve
Nature & Parks
Nature & Wildlife Areas
Limestone & dolomite gorges offering varied hiking paths, some with wooden walkways & lookouts.
A beautiful hike at Clifton Gorge the other day with my two best friends. Our GPS on Google took us to this small parking lot right next to a neighborhood. The sign said "high crime area do not leave valuables in vehicles". My vehicle was ok when we were finished with our hike. Also no dogs allowed on this trail. The pictures do this area no justice. This trail is beautiful. I think we started at the perfect spot. There were spots along the wood trail to look out at the gorge. And some spots on the trail were fairytale-like. When we came to the stairs there was a nature center with two porta potties. It was nice to come across a restroom in the middle of your hike. We decided to go down the stairs and follow that trail then come back up on the north rim trail. This hike had all the things that I enjoy while taking in nature.

As I stepped into the nature preserve for the first time, I was filled with curiosity and a hint of apprehension. The sign warning of a high crime rate had made me uneasy, but I decided to push those thoughts aside. With no particular expectations, I wandered into the lush expanse that unfolded before me. To my delight, the preserve proved to be absolutely breathtaking. Cascading waterfalls echoed through the trees, their waters glistening in the sunlight as they tumbled over moss-covered rocks. The air was fresh, infused with the earthy scent of damp soil and blooming wildflowers, and the vibrant greenery all around was a feast for the eyes. As I strolled along the winding trails, I was captivated by the picturesque scenery—sunlight filtering through the canopy overhead, casting dappled shadows on the path below. It was a serene escape from the worries of daily life, and despite my initial concerns, I felt a profound sense of peace washing over me. In that moment, the beauty of nature held my undivided attention, easily eclipsing any fears I had about the area.
Shane C — Google review
Peaceful walk through beautiful woodland trails beside the river. Went midweek middle of the day. Easy parking a short stroll from Clifton Mill where you can get a hearty breakfast before hitting the trails. We went late May after a very wet spring so there was lots of white water creating stunning views down the gorge. There are plenty of look outs to take your photos. Some trails are easy others needed sturdy footwear and good balance as rocky path is quite slippery after the rain.
Claire H — Google review
No pets??? This nature preserve has decent natural views, but is lacking in basic groundskeeping and maintenance. It seems the State course to invest more in the fancy signs at the entrance than the actual trail itself. Uneven and unkempt trails, no trash/recycling, and no pets allowed?? Do better!
Jordan S — Google review
The trails are beautifully maintained, clean, and easy to explore, making it an enjoyable outing. I particularly loved photographing the wildlife—the area is teeming with diverse species and offers plenty of opportunities to capture nature at its finest. The scenery along the gorge is stunning. That said, the stairs on the gorge trails are quite steep and can be challenging without the right footwear. I plan to return with proper shoes to fully enjoy everything the preserve has to offer.
Mocha M — Google review
This nature preserve is stunning. If you are in the area, please don't miss it. It's amazing that you can be driving through cornfields and all of a sudden there's this! Be aware that the lower trail is a little more precarious and lots of rocks. Can be very slick if it has just rained. The upper trail is very easy to do. This preserve connects to the John Bryant State Park so if you want to make the trail longer you can head into the park. Today the flowers are beautiful. Every time I go there are different flowers blooming. Even if you only have a short time, you should still go here. Worth every minute.
Ruth Z — Google review
If you love Hocking Hills like I do you'll love it here. Great easy trail, no litter and spectacular views!

Ballantrae Community Park & Spray Fountains

Ballantrae Community Park is a hidden gem featuring a unique "bunny park" sprayground nestled among artificial boulders. The splash pad offers an entertaining water play area with cave-like settings, leprechaun-faced rocks, and various water spray patterns. While the park lacks shade and seating, it provides paved paths leading to the summit where visitors can admire the intricate 15-foot bronze hares overlooking the splash pad.
This Arizona gal enjoyed wandering in the rain to see the Rabbits. It's a great little walk and the Rabbits are quite creative.
Vicki R — Google review
So, this place really does deserve 5 stars because it is an incredibly beautiful splash pad. The few unfortunate things that brought it down was the day I was here on the 4th of July, the waterfall wasn't working, just the spray jets. The one other thing is there needs to be more seating with shade to accommodate more people. There was 4 picnic tables, only 2 with shade. Otherwise the place is majestic. Well done layout and beautiful. There is ample parking. There are restrooms available near the parking lot. And the rabbit sculpture on top of the hill was impressive. I've been to many splash pads and this one really is at the top of my list.
Brian D — Google review
First, I want to point out the obvious—the 3 giant rabbits on top of a hill. Spiral path to get up there. PLEASE- take the time to go up and look closer at the rabbits and what’s ON them. It’s so cool. The park, Very nice clean park. Path is asphalt that partially goes around the pond. The water pad was closed for the season. Tons of area to picnic, play football, frisbee or fly kites.
Patricia ( — Google review
Very interesting and creative Statues, but not much seating or anything else.
Joshua D — Google review
I really would give this place more of a 3.5. While the bunny statues are amazing, there isn’t much else to do. Walk around the ponds and see wildlife, and the splash pad. Unfortunately the little leprechauns which I’m assuming spray water are broken? Most of the other spray jets are working and it’s a decent sized area, but literally no shade.

Cool little place with water jet in the ground. The bunnies made out of recycled material is cool al

Amazing park with unique sculptures that make the place unforgettable. The wide open space is perfect for walking, taking photos, or simply relaxing outdoors. Always a wonderful vibe and worth coming back.

Review addressing accessibility Super cool/odd park! It has a few fun things, like the dancing rabbits, water play area, grassy areas, paved paths & ponds. It is a pretty accessible space, too. The park has a couple of sidewalk paths that go around/through it. They are paved and in good condition. I saw one steep spot in the sidewalk, but I think it’s avoidable There was no seating on any of the sidewalk paths that I saw, though the area where the rabbits are/the water area has some picnic tables with umbrellas. There are also boulders that some folks might be able to rest on at other parts of the wall I wasn’t there when the water was on, so I can’t speak to that ground’s slipperyness. Though I do remember seeing a sign that said water shoes should be worn in the water area GPS took me to an entrance of the park that is in a neighborhood. There’s no parking right by that entrance, so you have to walk just a bit, but it’s all paved sidewalks. The walk to the dancing rabbits is pretty short from where I parked, it would be a nice short adventure! The walk up to the rabbits is paved, but a little steep. The rabbits are cool to see from below though too (where’s there’s picnic tables) Lastly I’d just add that the rabbits themselves are a cool sensory experience!! They have all sorts of random things on them (coins, toy, keys, fork etc). It was fun to notice and touch all the little things that make these giant rabbits!
