I absolutely LOVE Lake Pontchartrain!!!! It really is something special. It looks just like I’m at the ocean! It is one of the most beautiful places in NOLA. I usually grab some gator bites and a burger from one of the restaurants on Lakeshore, and sit for hours…just being. It is a great place for fishing, running, walking, jet skiing, boating, reading, gathering…ANYTHING!! Most tourists miss out on this place when they are in New Orleans…that’s probably a good thing. It’s a really cool place. I had never seen an estuary this large…WOW!! A cool bit of information I learned about Lake Pontchartrain: any life in the Gulf of Mexico can be potentially be found in the water, and it is only about 14 feet at its deepest. Go hang out, you will love it!!!!

Beautiful, but scary at the same time. It is spectacularly gorgeous, so much water for miles, but had to visit. My pretty lady and I stopped and took some awesome pictures. The Lord can make such beautiful things with his hands yo...

Beautiful waters!! We found a secluded beach area where we stopped and barbecued and swam a bit in the water. It was gorgeous weather and perfect to be on the water in the boat! 😎
Jenn K — Google review
Always love being on the water in my boat. Lots of open water and hide away beaches. After a long day at the shop, being on the boat after work is just what I need.

Had to share these sunset pictures of Lake PONTCHARTRAIN, crossing the twin spans. So much beauty right in our back yards in Southern Louisiana.
Jamie Z — Google review
Paddled from the launch at Airline Highway close launch is not open long but nice paddling but lots of big boats so keep and eye out and raise a flag to be seen.
Mike S — Google review
Gigantic lake...so wide, you cant see the other side from the shore! Lots of shelters surrounding it for gatherings and picnics, plus a nice walking walk and nice paved roads for bike riding with several restaurants nearby on the Metairie side. The neatest thing was taking a car across the causeway, especially when its slightly foggy, it's like driving thru a cloud. Just make sure you're not on an empty tank! Worth a detour!

The National WWII Museum

War museum
Museums
The National WWII Museum, located in the Warehouse District, is a sprawling complex of modern buildings that offers a world-class history museum experience. Visitors can explore interactive exhibits featuring submarines, planes, and a 4-D theater. The museum provides detailed accounts of the war through large narrative exhibits with personal eyewitness stories and utilizes various mediums such as film, immersive displays, reconstructions, and oral histories.
I had the privilege of stepping into one of the most moving and humbling places I’ve ever visited — The National WWII Museum in New Orleans. As someone with a deep passion for history, and especially the events of the Second World War, walking through its halls was far more than a tour… it was a journey through the courage, sacrifices, and resilience of an entire generation. Absolutely amazing, amazing institution. The museum is perfectly chronologically structured, with ample halls and huge displays. The stories, the faces, the voices — they stay with you long after you leave. If you ever find yourself in New Orleans, I wholeheartedly , highly recommend taking the time to experience this museum. It’s not just about learning history… it’s about feeling it. The impression it leaves is powerful and deeply touching.
Marian R — Google review
This museum is absolutely phenomenal! You can tell it was created with deep thought, care, and purpose. The space is massive, filled with immersive, interactive exhibits that pull you in and keep you exploring for hours. The volunteers and docents are incredible; genuinely enthusiastic, deeply knowledgeable, and patient with every curious question. You could easily spend two full days here and still come back to find something new and meaningful. War and the horrors that come with it are never easy to witness, but this museum approaches the subject with unflinching honesty and immense respect. It doesn’t sugarcoat the pain, yet it beautifully honors the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of those who lived through it. If you’re a history lover, this place will move you, challenge you, and stay with you long after you leave. It’s an unforgettable experience!
Phoenix D — Google review
The National World War II Museum in New Orleans is an extraordinary and deeply moving experience that far exceeded expectations. The museum is massive, thoughtfully organized into different sections that cover both the European and Pacific Theatres in remarkable detail. Each exhibit tells the story of the war through powerful visuals, personal accounts, and an impressive collection of artifacts and memorabilia. From uniforms and weapons to letters, photographs, and vehicles, every display helps you understand not just the historical events, but also the human experiences behind them. One of the most meaningful aspects is the presence of volunteers—including actual World War II veterans—who are available to share stories and answer questions. Hearing firsthand perspectives from those who lived through that era adds a level of authenticity and emotion that no textbook can provide. The museum also dedicates significant space to the Holocaust and the liberation of the concentration camps, presenting it with the sensitivity and gravity it deserves. The section on Anne Frank is especially impactful, offering a personal lens into the unimaginable suffering and resilience of that time. It’s a place where you can easily spend an entire day immersed in history, reflection, and learning. The museum combines education and emotion beautifully, making it a must-visit for anyone traveling to New Orleans or interested in understanding the global impact of World War II.
J G — Google review
This is a must visit for anyone coming to New Orleans. The exhibits and artifacts tell a detailed story of WWII and its impact. You can spend a whole day or a couple of hours there exploring. Their museum store has an impressive collection of books on every topic imaginable related to the War.
Mark W — Google review
Simply amazing. It takes you a few hours to see everything. Lots of information videos pictures and artefacts from the wall. It helps you understand the history of the wall the different battles and everything. Loved the experience
Ivanna R — Google review
The WWII museum is a must see. Get there early because you will need the whole day. A ton of information. The movies are great. Ate at the restaurant bar and Lou was so nice and gave us great recommendations for local attractions. One of the best museum I have ever been to.
Walter V — Google review
This was the best history museum I've been to in the U.S. I'm fortunate to live close to D.C., Philadelphia, and other cities with a lot of history and great museums, but this topped those easily. The WWII museum goes all out with comprehensive, interactive experiences that make it easy to follow key events throughout the war. They did a nice job ensuring that each section in an exhibit flows naturally into the next, creating a narrative you want to follow -- which makes a lot of sense since Stephen Ambrose was a driving force behind the museum. Give yourself almost a full day to spend here. It's massive.
Andrew G — Google review
I have been to museums in 20+ countries and this one stands out. It's so well done, every detail meticulously laid out to the story of WWII from both the Pacific as well as the European theater perspective. This museum is now the national standard and used as a model for every museum going forward. Definitely one of Nola's top attractions.

Fabulous place!!! Loads of live music bars clubs great food. The atmosphere is like carnival everyone is out to have a good time. Definitely would go back

The French Quarters has always been a beautiful place to visit and VERY ACTIVE. It has nostalgia, mystery and overwhelming amount of food, shops and drinks. Unfortunately, with it being a large tourist attractive city, you need to keep a close eye on pick pockets and addicts.
Marlon V — Google review
Well I was there, and is not a place to go with kids, a lot of ppl smoking weed , and the atmosphere is not good for kids. It is a street with a lot of places to drink and buy some souvenirs, well it’s a place to visit … from there walking across the street I visited the front of the river and took a boat that was super beautiful view, also you can visit the museum or take a wagon with horses trip … all walking from the bourbon st really near! Was a good experience.

Absolutely love going to burbon street. Love the atmosphere, love the food, love the culture, and love the enertainment. One of my all time favorite places to visit.
Adam S — Google review
Definitely a tourist spot. The parking was horrible & very expensive. Mostly bars & shopping. Put your good walking shoes on or jump on the horse carriage or the tour bus. It's a definite must do at least once!! Lot of homeless people so stay safe
Bobbie G — Google review
I didn’t get drunk, and I still walked all the way down Bourbon Street. I hear that’s almost illegal.
Yaniv B — Google review
It's maybe not to everyone's taste but we enjoyed it immensely! Very tourist orientated but it was like one big party going on. We visited several bars and most had live music. It's a very lively and noisy atmosphere and great if you want to let your hair down and live a little!

Live music venue
Preservation Hall, located in the French Quarter of New Orleans, is a historic venue dedicated to preserving and honoring the city's jazz tradition. Established in 1961, this no-frills space with wooden floors and minimal seating offers an intimate and authentic jazz experience. Despite its lack of air-conditioning, it continues to attract crowds eager to witness performances by the renowned Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
In the heart of the French Quarter in New Orleans lies Preservation Hall, a legendary venue dedicated to keeping the spirit of traditional New Orleans jazz alive. Since its founding in 1961, this humble space has been filled with the sound of live jazz every single night. There are no microphones, no flashy lights—just the raw energy of the musicians and the pure sound of their instruments. Seating is limited, and sometimes you’ll even find yourself sitting on the floor, but that only makes the experience more authentic and powerful. The resident Preservation Hall Jazz Band tours the world and is considered one of the cultural ambassadors of New Orleans. For any jazz lover, this place is nothing short of sacred. Thanks to its central location in the French Quarter, it’s easy to stop by while exploring the city—but with such limited seating, booking in advance is highly recommended. If you want to experience the true essence of New Orleans at night, Preservation Hall is the place to be.

I had the chance to experience Preservation Hall about ten years ago, and when I returned to New Orleans recently, I didn’t think twice about going back. It was just as amazing as I remembered! The musicians are incredibly talented, and the whole experience feels so authentic. Close your eyes, and it’s like you’re in a movie ❤️absolutely magical. A must-do in NOLA!
Sabrina S — Google review
We had a wonderful time here! Short 45 min concert but sooo entertaining! It’s a small area and you’re right there with the musicians. All of them are so talented and we enjoyed every single minute! Definitely recommend.
Cassie F — Google review
Great jazz venue, talented musicians, friendly staff. I highly recommend attending a concert here if you are visiting New Orleans. Sitting space fills up pretty quickly, so it’s best to purchase tickets in advance.
Olga S — Google review
This was by far the most wonderful experience in such an unexpected way. It was truly authentic jazz music. We felt it in our soul and enjoyed it so much more than we ever expected. Highly recommend. We bought tickets about 2 weeks ahead of time and got to the hall about 30 minutes early. That worked out great.
Erica C — Google review
This was the highlight of the trip. If tickets were available, I would have spent the money to go back. If you are a fan of joy and love music this is a must stop. In a little room, 6 musicians just absolutely bring it. We spent money on front row and in all honesty, it was a steal. The only unfortunate thing is they ask you not to photograph or video. Thankfully the memories will be in my head for as long as I have my brain functions. The musicians were awesome…but a special shout out to Ronell Johnson. Not only did he rule the trombone, but stuck around after the show for pictures and laughs until we were out the door. Such an awesome dude.
Sean R — Google review
Wow!!! A must go in your New Orleans visit. The highlight of our family trip… What an amazing experience. We were there on Monday, August 11 for our twins birthday. The music was unforgettable… the band members were so warm, funny and TALENTED! We would love to hear them again. Really ANY seat is perfect because it is a small venue- very intimate. Thank you for making our evening so memorable.

Cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
St. Louis Cathedral is a grand church dating back to the 1700s, featuring stunning stained glass and a painted ceiling. In the mid-1800s, Baroness Micaela Almonester de Pontalba oversaw the rebuilding of the cathedral and initiated the construction of Pontalba Buildings in an effort to counteract development across Canal Street. The cathedral's white facade and sleek steeples dominate the square, flanked by historic structures like Cabildo and Presbytere.
Beautiful and iconic spot right in the heart of the French Quarter! I love how peaceful and holy it feels inside, even though there’s so much going on right outside. The interior design is gorgeous, and it’s nice and cool inside with the air conditioning. Best part — it’s free to visit! Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in New Orleans.
Yong C — Google review
Short Story: historically amazing and cool to go inside and experience. A must do simply for that reason. If you are catholic then it is a zero excuse trip inside. Skip if you are not into to historical places you will find it to just be an old church. For the rest of us, the place is run down and in need or repairs so there is a heavy written push for donations but not mandatory and no one is asking you directly. The stained glass windows are amazing to view. Most places importantly ( at least for me) you simply need to sit and release that which you need to.
Admiral S — Google review
Being the oldest Catholic Cathedral in America. I must be here. In fact, it is one of the two reasons I want to be in NOLA. The Cathedral is beautiful and yet not so big. It is surprisingly look not as old as one expect it to be. I noticed that one part of the windows paint by the Sanctuary is peeling off. I prayed for it because I could only donate a little. I had a chance to make a confession. What a good feeling that was! Attended a mass at 12:05PM. They are on schedule. The priests homily was full of meaning and wisdom.
Anne C — Google review
It's on all the bucket list's for a reason! It's a marvelous feat of art and architecture. I made my visit in the morning and it was a great time to visit, very quiet with not a lot of people there so I could take my time to soak up the artwork.
Fi — Google review
A stunning landmark in the heart of the French Quarter, the St. Louis Cathedral is both historically rich and beautifully maintained. Open to the public during regular hours, it is fully accessible and welcoming to all visitors. The architecture is breathtaking, and a peaceful interior offers a quiet moment away from the bustle of Jackson Square. Whether you are drawn by faith, history, or aesthetics, it is worth stepping inside. The surrounding area is lively, with street performers and artists just outside, but the cathedral itself remains serene. It is a must-see for anyone exploring New Orleans.
Natalie H — Google review
So historic and so beautiful! I like the QR that links you to digitally pay to light your candles and make donations. Catholic or not...very spiritual.
Nicole K — Google review
You feel the history upon entering the cathedral. This is a New Orleans must see regardless of your religious background. Its architecture is unlike the places of worship in the rest of the US.
Norma L — Google review
I attended 9am mass on Sunday. The sermon was short. I hope it was only due to the saints game and not a normal practice. I had a higher expectation for the Cathedral. The front doors were not accessible. This is a beautiful church with much needed maintenance. The singing was beautiful, magnificent and touched my spirit. I wish I could have heard more of her tones than the magnificent organs, which were clear, but a decibel too high. All people should attend a mass here.

Jackson Square is a historic park in New Orleans, dating back to 1721 and surrounded by significant buildings. It's where the Louisiana Purchase was finalized and home to landmarks like The St Louis Cathedral, The Cabildo, and The Presbytere. Artists, musicians, and fortune tellers gather here, displaying their original artwork along the fence and sidewalks. While not an official market, the art on display rivals gallery pieces. Vendors have city permits and many have been selling here for decades.
I enjoyed being on this Square. The presence of St. Louis Cathedral as the oldest Cathedral in America from where the Square is beautiful. Very well maintained. There's a jazz player and you know you are in New Orleans. If you are driving a car, there's a convenient paid parking just a few minute walk to the Square and the Cathedral.

Jackson Square is one of the most charming and lively spots in New Orleans. Surrounded by beautiful historic buildings and the stunning St. Louis Cathedral, it’s the perfect place to take a walk, people-watch, or enjoy local street performers and artists. The atmosphere is vibrant and full of culture you really feel the heart of the French Quarter here. There are also plenty of cafés and restaurants nearby where you can sit and take in the view. It’s a great place for photos and to experience the true soul of New Orleans. Highly recommend visiting both during the day and at night for two totally different but equally magical vibes!

⭐️ Jackson Square – A Must-See Icon in New Orleans! I visited the beautiful and historic Jackson Square, one of the most iconic landmarks in the heart of New Orleans. The park is clean, well-maintained, and surrounded by amazing architecture — with St. Louis Cathedral as the stunning backdrop. From the upper terrace near the Mississippi River, you can enjoy a perfect panoramic view of the square, the cathedral, and the classic horse carriages passing by. If you’re lucky, you might even see TV crews setting up for live broadcasts during local events or festivals! 🎥 The atmosphere is lively and full of energy — street performers, artists, musicians, and tourists blend into the vibrant spirit of the French Quarter. There are many souvenir shops, cafés, and restaurants all around — and of course, the legendary Café du Monde just steps away. ☕️🍩 Paid street parking is available nearby, but it can get busy during peak hours — so come early or walk from the French Market area. ✨ A must-visit stop to truly feel the soul of New Orleans! #NewOrleans #JacksonSquare #FrenchQuarter #TravelUSA #HistoricLandmark

This is a beautiful historic site. I love visiting these kind of places. Sandwiched between the St. Louis Cathedral and the Mississippi River, it is a wonderful setting. A lovely park on the river in New Orleans! There is a lot of space and places to sit, and it certainly is a beautiful space! There are also a lot of historical things around and plaques to read!! I continue to return every time I visit NOLA — it is where I find some of my favorite street performers. :)

So so beautiful! It was busy when we arrived, but not too difficult to walk around. It is very well kept, neat and tidy. No restrooms nearby that I know of though. Café du Monde is also 2 minutes walk from here.

Fort Pike

Temporarily Closed
Historical landmark

Historic Sites
Unfortunately the Fort is CLOSED. But it is a very interesting historical place to visit.
Jamie G — Google review
The first fort that stood here was built in 1793 by the French: the current building was erected right after the War of 1813 to protect New Orleans by stopping hostile naval units from sailing up the Rigolets into Lake Pontchartrain. The cannon here was never fired in any action and the fort was used off and on for training purposes and shut down in the 1890s. For years I passed this placed while traveling back and forth and never stopped. Now it is an abandoned ruin: the old picnic tables and bbq pits scattered about the weeds and overgrown bushes. There are several buildings that are in various stages of decay that had been brought in. The fort itself I did not go in as at my age and being by myself I did not trust the old wooden bridge over the water to gain the entrance. So I took some photos of the cannons and things in the weeds, the exterior walls and then went my way.

Visited this Fort in 2012. We had the place almost for ourselves, Beautiful fort, with great views. There was also a very friendly staff member (I can't remember his name, lovely man), who gave us a beautiful book about the fort, as we came all the way from Europe:-)

Me and some homies went up there today, sign says closed but we were still able to walk around and in the fort, great place. Sad the city doesn’t do anything to restore it, if you go here and want to explore inside, have the courtesy to re-latch the door 👌🏼

Unfortunately, these days Ft Pike isn't open to the public but one day a year, the Saturday of the Ft. Pike festival. This year (2023) the Festival was on Saturday, October 21, and this third tier fort was open to the public. It was an educational experience as there was documentation and a knowledgeable guide willing to tell the story of Ft. Pike, and it's twin, Ft.cComb. I was excited to once again roam a childhood playground. The Ft. Pike festival and car show is always in October and I recommend going just to see the fort and listen to some live music. And the car show is a pretty addition.

I recently had the chance to visit Fort Pike, with the intention of learning more about its rich history, but was left disappointed to find out that it was still closed to the public. It's a shame that I couldn't take a tour of the fort and explore the grounds. I understand that the closure may be necessary for safety and preservation reasons, but it was still a disappointment not to be able to experience the fort's unique history and architecture. I hope that the fort management team will open it soon, and I look forward to visiting it in the future.

Note: closed Very nice SIZEABLE historical landmark that is a real fort! Wow! Sad this location remains closed and was definitely closed and unmaintained! 4 stars because you can view it from the bridgeway; not 5 because you cannot enter the site; not 3 because it is a great site viewable from atop.
OneMileAttaTime — Google review
Fort Pike state historic site was a lovely visit to an 1840s fort built to protect the Rigolets from an attack. It appears it's temporarily closed so you can't wander inside and see the views and old cannonade. This might be due to budget strictures. But worth a trip to see even if the old fort isn't accessible. Was a fine picnic site. Boat launch is still open. Write the state to get it opened again! Bring your binoculars and look at the old girl and great views of the Gulf.

Very nicely laid out with many stops along the paths with very interesting information postings and comfortable benches to relax. Well maintained---a total delight! The gift shop was fun and I enjoyed my conversation with the lady behind the desk.

A very esthetic adventure. Can buy plants that are grown from the natural forest. Walks are an easy stroll marked with placards and bits of history.

I attended Forge Day and it was a pleasant experience. The old tools, use of real coal and highly skilled craftsmanship was fun to watch. My only complaint was how low the trails are after a rain. The trails were covered in water and not walkable.

I have long wanted to visit a pitcher plant bog, so experiencing this habitat was exceptional. There is a well-cared for pollinator garden with quite an range of plants. Nice paths for your choice of walking distance. There were portions of the paths that are wheelchair accessible, but maybe best if motorized or pushed. Wonderful staff!

Had a great time exploring. We only saw a third of this beautiful place during our visit so will have to come back. My friend even got to get a hibiscus that had her name from the plants that were for sale! Such a nice time and place to get back to nature.

Beautiful walking trails, had fun feeding the turtles and the staff was wonderful. Planning another trip soon!

Such an amazing place to stop and spend an hour or two. The staff here is incredible. From the greeters who let us right in at 9, to the nicest younger gentleman who runs the DOE exhibit, everyone was so kind and happy we were there. We went when there were several field trips and still had an amazing time. I would definitely recommend this for any space or weather enthusiasts.

We think you have kids ages 8-14 years old with you, this would he a great place to go. Kids younger than that, everything would be over their head. Older than that it is a bit beneath them. We were 2 adults with no kids with us. We enjoyed seeing the items outside more than in. There was a camp group with young kids there when we went, and they just ran around. It would be much better if you have an employee guide you through and explain things.
Lisa M — Google review
We we're on a time crunch so we didn't get to experience much at all, but this place is awesome! They have cool stuff to see, one of the coolest penny presses ever, and amazing gift shop options! Both of our kids purchase a price of the moon, and some pieces of an astroid. We would love to go back and make a day of it!
Johnathon W — Google review
Kids really got into the hands-on hurricane prediction lab, and even helped fix a leak during the deep ocean exploration trip! Both that experience and the 3D show were excellent. Plus, visiting on a weekday meant the facility wasn't crowded.

05JUL25 ~ A great space & science adventure for all ages. There was plenty of free parking. The parking lot, grounds around the center, and the center itself were clean, maintained, and well organized. There were several parts of the rockets that had actually been a part of the various Saturn programs. The massive size of the 1st stage of the Saturn V rocket is awesome. There are several sections to explore, children will find several things to interest them, and there are some inspiring items of interest for adults. If you like science, space, or the space program this is a great go to place to stop & enjoy!
Curtis C — Google review
It was a nice experience but there is too much at the museum. My kids were entertained but for the cost, I'd expect more than an hours worth of things for them to see. The rocket engine outside was cool to see up close.
Laura M — Google review
It was a beautiful center however I think the lack of visitors to this location has made it to where it is no longer a site to visit as much. I wish there was more interaction between guest and the workers to teach the guest more. But the center while having some amazing objects was a quick 1 to at most 2 hour visit as there is just simply not enough interaction. Especially for a Saturday when parents have the time to take their kids who are not in school. Really hope this improves. But we drove from new orleans and I just don't think it was worth the drive. If your passing by however its a great place to stretch your legs and learn a few facts.

Great little trip - definitely more intended for kids, but the outside exhibits are interesting enough for adults! Military discount for Wednesdays.

Silver Slipper Casino Hotel

Casino
Casinos & Gambling
Grand waterfront casino with 24/7 table games, slots & poker plus live entertainment & dining.
Fantastic stay recently at the Silver Slipper for a golf outing. The rooms were very clean and organized. The restaurant offerings were top tier. Finally the service provided by April (Front Desk) and Susan (Housekeeping) were above and beyond expectations. I highly recommend as this is more than just a casino. And the pool view is amazing!! Andrew

I recently visited Silver Slipper Casino and was quite disappointed with my experience. The casino itself felt outdated, and the slot machines seemed to be tight with payouts. I expected a vibrant atmosphere, but it was surprisingly dull, with limited entertainment options. The service was another letdown. The staff was not very attentive, and it took forever to get a drink at the bar. When I approached a staff member for assistance, they seemed dismissive and uninterested in helping. Additionally, the dining options were underwhelming. The food was average at best, and the prices were not justified by the quality. I had hoped for a more enjoyable experience, but unfortunately, it fell flat. I would not recommend Silver Slipper Casino if you’re looking for a fun and exciting time. There are definitely better options out there!

Valet is awesome and has wonderful customer service. Some of the players club staff also have great customer service but a few of them never even crack a smile and are just bland personalities. Sometimes the line is long in player services but they move somewhat fast. The buffet line normally has one cashier and the line is usually long. Wait time isn’t horrible but it could be better with 2 cashier’s. They don’t supply a refrigerator in room but you can rent one for $20 a night LOL yea no thanks. The rooms are charming but sadly outdated and stains on carpet and chairs. It’s not horrible but definitely not luxurious. I’ll keep staying here. I always bring Lysol to any hotel and spray everything down. If they would update everything it would be a very very nice place to stay.

Absolutely one of our favorite places to stay on the Mississippi Coast. The staff is so friendly. The rooms are nice and clean. The cafe is opened 24 hours with some of the most delicious food, the servings are so large me and my husband always share a plate and the prices are not expensive at all. The pool area is so relaxing and beautiful with an infinity pool that looks out over the beach. Just be sure to have long pants and a jacket because its always freezing inside the casino and restaurants

Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Beds were very comfortable. People are very friendly and bar service on the floor was the best I have experienced in a casino. The only negative is the slots are very tight. Played for hours and lost everything!!
Bernie B — Google review
I went here for the first time for my birthday. I moved from Virginia to Louisiana and was told word of mouth this was the best crab buffet around. So I went. I have to say I was really impressed and enjoyed this casino and the buffet. Its was a beautiful place to dine and the selection was massive. The up keep of the buffet presentation was excellent. Staff was attentive and made me feel welcomed and cared for. One special thing for me I liked was the seasoning on the crab legs. It was simply delicious and put it way ahead of the competition of other crab buffets. Another favorite for me which was truly unique, was the made to order funnel cake. They had so many toppings to put on it too. Everything from powered sugar, whipped cream, to fresh fruit. They had so many desserts to choose from as well. I cant say enough good things about The Silver Slipper. I loved the secludedness of the property. In Biloxi everything is all crammed up together. The outdoor grounds were just as lovely. It was nice to take a stroll after dinner on the beachfront. Absolutely beautiful.

Small casino. First time visiting this casino. And have no plans to return. We went there with plans to have dinner at the buffet, but the line was very very long. We arrived in late afternoon, but still at 8pm the line was long, outside the restaurant and approximately 30-40 people waiting in line. I ask what the approximate wait time was, and was told over an hour. I spoke to a patron leaving the buffet restaurant, their opinion of the restaurant, they told me that if you wanted the king crab legs, you'd have to be standing in the line, to get a plate of approximately 5 crab leg portions or they were gone within less than a minute and the people who were still waiting to be served had to remain standing in line, while another batch was prepared. And they said, to get any king crab legs, took up too much of their dinner time. So they requested a refund and were denied a refund or compensation for inadequate service. So we decided, as others who also heard our discussion, decided to find another place to eat dinner, ie: king crab legs, but because this casino is a long distance from all the other restaurants that offer this type seafood, all these restaurants were closed. They are located far from any other business, at the very end of the Bay Saint Louis seawall. And the central AIR CONDITIONING is set at a Very UNCOMFORTABLE temperature. We ask the dealer why it was SO HOT, he replied that the new management keeps the A/C at about 78°. We were actually sweating while seated and we do not consume alcohol. We both had a one 8oz bottled water. And only had one because we only saw the server once. We will not be going back.

We went for dinner haven't been in a few years. I always remember the food and crab legs being some of the best. I can tell you September 6 that night. I had some of the worst food. The crab legs tasted fake was not good at all. I can honestly say I won't spend that kind of money on that food again. I can go to buc-ees and eat better food than last night and spend less money. It was over a 100 dollars for me and my wife.

Buccaneer State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
Camping, fishing, disk golf, nature trails & more on 400-acre park on the Gulf.
We had made a reservation for 2 nights while passing through Mississippi. We originally had site 28 and it was spacious and easy to get into. The next day it was beautiful and we were able to switch to the waterfront site 230 it was perfect. The office staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful with all our questions. They were also great with our kids. We are making this state park a destination in our future travels.
Michele B — Google review
We haven’t stayed at Buccaneer State park for over 8 years. The main reason was 1. They charged you $5 per person to use the pool, 2. They never closed the gates , and there were report of people stealing, . 3 the most Shadey area was Treasure cove, they never keep it maintained , sites were always covered with dirt/ sand leaves . We heard they stopped charging for the pool, so we decided to give it another chance , and we took our grandson. When I checked in I ask the young lady about MILITARY discount which she replied “ we don’t do that here!. Anyway , when you enter the park it looks great especially around the water park, and once you get into the camp ground the grounds start looking un cared for. Especially Treasure cove. We got to our spot, which was cover with dirt and debris and leaves, you could tell the area had not been weed eated in awhile, . The bath house was so HOT you couldn’t go stay in there , the No AC , very dirty . Once we were set up I noticed there was broken glass everywhere around my site and fire pit, I canned the office. They sent a guy down and he was there for over hour picking up the glass, he left and never came , but let his bucket with all the glass in . The Pool on Sunday was ok, the water level was below the skimmers and making a horrible sucking sound, someone finally turned on the fill water. On MONDAY we came back to the pool and it was closed ! I called the office and they said it’s closed on Monday and Tuesday for maintained, yet the water park is open 7 days . The hottest month of the year and the pool is closed for 2 days a week, yet the $21 per person water is open🤷🏼‍♂️. There is no discount for the water park . Well we have decided we are done with Buccaneer State Park- who is more complied to attach water park Guest vice campers

We’ve camped many time but this last trip ended on a bad note. Our reservations sated we could stay until 4:00. About 12:00 as we were eating our lunch, we got a visit. They told us the check out times were recently changed and that we needed to leave. We complied but no sooner than I reach the exit and stopped to throw my trash away, another camper pulled onto my site. The office’s explanation was they were allowed to “come early”. They actually bumped us off so a guest could come early.

Buccaneer State Park is beautiful and located right across the street from the Gulf... It's an amazing place to camp and enjoy the beach and the close proximity to Bay St. Louis.

The park is fun but more geared to younger children. The wave pool is a nice size and fun for floating. The park no longer rents tube but they will blow yours up. There are two fairly high slides, perfect for older kids or adults. There is a kiddie pool and a kiddie water play area. There are lockers that require quarters every time you open. In and out is allowed at the park with a bracelet. No coolers allowed Get there early for a cabana or shaded space. The price is worth making a day.
Dawn V — Google review
A Waterpark that was not crowded. Best thing about it! It's small and the price matches that. The kids had a great time!
Destiny C — Google review
The cabanas are really nice! They are right beside the splash pad with a clear view to watch the kids. Campsites in the back of the park are great and have plenty of shade. Overall buccaneer state park is surprisingly nice and get 5 stars from our family!

I spent the evening with my husband, friends and their husbands, and we had such a fantastic time. The atmosphere is lively, fun, and perfect for a night out. I can’t wait to spend more evenings on the Holly Deck and explore everything they have to offer. They have so many things to off. Cant wait tor try the buffet. Highly recommend! --- Do you want me to make it a little more festive to highlight the birthday celebration?

We absolutely love the campground here. Our campground manager was Rebecca and she always went beyond to make sure that our stay was pleasant. She was a very hard worker. She took great pride in making sure the facilities were clean. She was very informed about local sources and activities. The hotel could clean the hallway carpets better at the edges. There was thick dust. We would have liked it better if the hotel rooms had a mini frig. The pool was great but could use more umbrellas or sail shades. Thank you Rebecca! Thank you to the front desk staff for collecting our mail!
Lisa D — Google review
Our third time here and the Casino is making upgrades that directly enhance customer experience. The addition of the Hollydeck and Palisades bars are not only beautiful they create private-ish spaces for drinks and conversation. I like to play slots and the machines are pretty good. I did not go to the Azalea spa because last time I was there the mani/pedi was the most expensive I have ever had and it was mediocre at best. It’s a beautiful spa but obscenely overpriced. The Casino would benefit comparing pricing other spas nearby. The pools are stunning complete with a lazy river. The campground is very nice and we enjoyed our stay there. This is a little gem of a Casino/Resort when we are in this part of the country we will stay here.

Updated rooms?? Pictures on the website show lights A LIE!!!! Not sure what genius decided NOT to put lights in the room. You can't see your hand in front of your face. The coffee maker didn't work AGAIN!!. Last week we had the same issues but MORE. No lights, Broken coffee maker, the shower squirted over the shower door and floods the floor. The plug came out of the wall when I unplugged the hairdryer. There is NO place in the bathroom to put something down - NO SHELVING. And if you are counting on a nice meal, don't. The nicer restaurants and buffet aren't open mid week. We alerted the desk to the issues last week but the very same issues persist. We weren't offered a different room; they did send a lamp up. Here's the kicker.... Maintenance couldn't see to plug it in!!!!! It's sad that the renovation was so POORLY thought out. Actually, the geniuses who did this DIDN'T give it ANY thought. ONE bright spot... The young gentleman at the desk is extraordinary. Kudos to him, give him a raise.

I was planning on staying a Friday and Saturday (9/26 & 9/27 2025) to enjoy the lazy river and local area with my wife (weekend getaway). I am not a gambler so the casino was not visited. The smell of smoke was heavy near the casino and you had to walk past it to get to the front desk. The room was out dated. No mini refrigerator and TV was in poor shape. That was workable because ice machine was just down the hall and I wasn't there to watch TV. However between the old carpet smell and smoke smell my sinuses went crazy and developed a headache. I ended up checking out the next day and only stayed one night and never got to the lazy river. I was told they would refund my second night. Employees were great. Just be aware of the heavy smoke smell and hopefully they update their old carpets. I did walk by the pool and lazy river to look and noticed some of the chairs and benches were broken. Seemed like it would be a nice place to stay with some updating. I stayed on 2nd floor.

This was the first time I was here. I had a fun time. It's a nice little casino. I enjoyed a day trip there with my parents and grandmother. It definitely seemed to have a crowd that was a little older, but that was just fine considering most of our group. I'd definitely go again.

Didn't stay at the hotel, but played the Bridges golf course. It was a great experience and a challenge, to play on a Arnold Palmer designed course. The fairways were great and the greens were pure and fast. While standing on some of the tee boxes, the views were amazing and also challenging.

I rented the bunk house for the weekend and it was a great stay with a beautiful view! The bunk houses are only $70 a night, which I feel like is a good price but they could use a little work. I stayed in bunk house #1 and I couldn’t shower because the hot water smelled like rotten eggs but this was only the problem with this cabin. I left a note and hopefully that will get fixed. Cons: The flooring is coming up, rust behind stove, needs a new paint job and holes in bathroom door. Pros: only $70, amazing view, great heating system, tv, stove, microwave, fridge and full bathroom. I will definitely stay again!! Overall a great experience and definitely recommend!

Great place. We got a Camphouse, rather than a cabin. Very rustic and it’s beginning to show its age. But, a wonderful experience if you’re looking to camp without amenities. Lots of privacy and beautiful, natural surroundings.
Gloria W — Google review
Rented bunkhouse #8, reasonable accommodation for the price. Oven did not work, there's a microwave and a mini fridge. Shower blasted! Waters edge was perfect to put paddle boards in. I will note this...they do not enforce the capacity because it was a party atmosphere where several groups rented cabins, kids everywhere and loud all night. I slept through it, but others would not have been happy. Nice little deck, picnic table and a window unit. A step up from primitive. Bath houses were very clean too.

Brutally honest review. We’ve camped at Flint Creek for 18 days this year—two 2-week stays and a weekend. It’s only 5 minutes from home, so we use it like a staycation while I still commute to work. What we love: Location is unbeatable for locals like us. Gate staff is always kind and professional. Huge props to the ladies working there! Disc Golf (Cheona Trails) is a fun, challenging course. We’re new to it, but had a great time—until we got barked at by a park employee for driving our golf cart through the picnic area on the final hole. We weren’t causing damage, just trying to finish the course. A respectful heads-up would’ve been appreciated. Safety: We’ve never felt unsafe, even during crowded holiday weekends. Nature & wildlife: Trails are peaceful and well-used. Love sharing the outdoors with the animals. Cleanliness: Park grounds are generally clean. We pick up trash when we see it—leave no trace. What needs work: Roads & sites: Many campground roads are in rough shape. FCFS sites are very unlevel and overgrown. Sites in Mohawk and Seneca should be upgraded to full hook-up, especially given the price. Maintenance: Our site (59A) had overgrown grass the whole time. Fencing was falling apart, and the steps into the water were dangerous—roofing nails sticking up where shingles had come off. My wife slipped and cut herself. Meanwhile, we often saw multiple park employees in trucks sitting and watching traffic, instead of tackling visible maintenance needs. There’s a lot they could be doing with better direction. Bathhouses: Terrible smell. Grimy. Doesn’t look or feel truly clean. Painting over dirt isn’t cleaning. Needs deep disinfecting and real upkeep. Message to Pat Harrison Waterway District: This park has serious potential. It’s close, it’s beautiful, and it’s staffed by some great people—but unless real improvements are made, we’ll probably camp at Paul B. Johnson SP next time. Rating: 3 to 3.5 stars.

We really enjoy spending time at flint creek. The cabins are nice. The prices are fair and it's clean.

Brought my boys here for the first time a few weeks ago. They loved it! We did not go to the water park, but we were able to enjoy the creek itself. They were able to enjoy time on the boat and tubing. The boats had plenty of room to safely get around. This is a great and inexpensive place to have family time.

Friendship Oak Village

Apartment building
Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
I lived here for three years as I was studying at USM and FOV was nothing but a great place to live in. It was very convenient as a student since the housing is right behind the campus and a great place to establish friendships with students that also attends the school. Management and staff was very helpful and not dismissive. They always try their best to accomodate residents. A little reminder though, if you move in to this place and any dorms at that, is you are responsible to clean up after yourself, keep your room clean, and hold yourself accountable for any decisions that you make. You will not be treated a child here and no one will be cleaning up your mess but yourself.

Amazing management! Professional, at all times! great affordable place for college students to live. Beautiful pool, Game room, and Study rooms! Great experience during my college years. The WIFI always worked.
Keraa K — Google review
There’s a reason pretty much everyone I met in this building spoke wistfully of their plans to move out to new housing. My first warning is that multiple people I know here have gotten sick from mold (which your A/C unit *will* have, and the showers are not properly ventilated). At least a couple rooms were prone to flooding during rainstorms. The rooms vary quite a bit in size and the rates for what are basically dorms are high compared to what you can get in other places in the area. There is the advantage of living within walking distance of USM and being able to socialize with other students, but during my time here I found that that these benefits did not outweigh the negatives. You will have RA’s and depending on the appointed RA the amount the place is cleaned will vary *significantly,* and sometimes it got so dirty we’d crack jokes about it. There has been a toxic living environment here for a while with interpersonal drama that, in my opinion, at least partially stems from the unprofessional behavior of various staff members. The problems with the physical building can be at least partially attributed to poor ownership. I recommend only moving here if you have absolutely no substitute, and in that case you should treat it as a stop on your way to a better place. It’s unfortunate that there aren’t many housing options for students on the Coast.

Friendship Oak Village is one of the nicest places to stay it is met all of my amenities. The people here are wonderful and I’ve made lifelong friends. Anytime I need help with something there’s always somebody here to help me with my problems with it to be maintenance, technical issues, etc. The RAs are always there to help and listen when I need assistance and are very friendly. Great place to be for college students And a wonderful experience.

The management there was very nice and understanding when I stayed there. The residents there are across the board were good people who mean well. The building was cleaned and maintained everyday from what I noticed. I would recommend at least giving them a call or look at there website to see what they have to offer.
David R — Google review
I felt very uncomfortable as a woman in this building as there are known predators. I felt quite unsafe. The staff is often times rude and dismissive. I’ve put it multiple maintenance requests that were mostly ignored. Locks work, sometimes? Would never recommend.
Brooke B — Google review
As for the two reviews below, here is my overall experience at F.O.V. I'm currently a resident and student at USM. The owners are not just understanding and flexible when it comes to maintenance and other issues. I've never experienced a rat infestation or being robbed. If anything, this apartment complex has a communal kitchen that includes a fridge and stove, a spacious laundry room with four washers and four dryers, a fenced-in pool area that includes pool furniture and grill area, reliable internet service, (I'm a psychology and sociology major and all my classes are writing intensive), fun events planned for the residents (we have movie night every Monday in the main lobby and bonfire every Wednesday night), and security services every day of the week. The best advantage of this apartment complex is it's literally behind the USM Long Beach Campus. It takes me no more than 5 minutes to walk to class and back. I know for certain that I will be living here until my education is completed. I feel safe and happy here.
Alex W — Google review
Be careful! Maintenance is slow to respond, some items were never fixed like locks. Had a rat infestation so my son moved out 3 months ago. Have yet to receive our deposit back from November and no one will return my calls or emails either!

Gulf Islands Waterpark

Water park
Water & Amusement Parks
Gulf Islands Waterpark is the largest water park along the Mississippi coast, offering a fantastic island-themed experience for families. With a range of attractions including slides, rides, pools, and special events like celebrity meet & greets, it's an ideal destination for a fun day out with the kids. The park features areas tailored to different age groups, from a lazy river and wave pool for small children to thrilling waterslides like the Riptide Racer and Master Blaster for older kids.
Rent the sun deck or cabana early. It’s hot. It’s worth it! Facilities are well maintained. Will run out of ice at peak time, but it fills back up. The staff, particularly at the top of the kiddie slides, are attentive. While the food options at the park are typical water park fare, they are adequate. Outside food and drinks are not permitted.

Visited with my 4yr old son this past weekend. We had a great time. It was a safe, clean, friendly atmosphere. The staff was readily available and very helpful. Plenty of rides to keep us busy. We didn't eat or buy any extras. The free drink bar was a pleasant surprise. We will definitely be back
Jeremy D — Google review
Had great experience. Kids and adults loved it. Circular Lazy River (you can stand in) has multiple entrances and exits. Use rafts for free. In the center wavepool comes on every 20 minutes. Plenty of life guards. Lockers for valuables. Small restaurant for burgers etc... Free drinks!Looks like you can rent a cabana or get there early to snag an umbrella area with chase lounge chairs. Dressing rooms to change. Everything you need for a fun day. Very clean. Will return.
Richie L — Google review
This place is awesome except for the price of food, which is insultingly expensive. Ice cream is $6 for barely 4oz of frozen yogurt. Chicken was good but I spent $35 on enough chicken for only 2 kids. Again, this place is really great but something needs to be done about food prices. We will definitely be coming back at least 2 more times this summer but we will never buy anything inside again. I feel bad for the employees. I can't be the only parent who is shocked at the food prices.
Russell B — Google review
I came here with my daughter for a band trip in ‘23 so yesterday I took my youngest 3 and niece. We had a blast. The rides are really fun especially the one that waves a lil. We will be back again!
Shetandra J — Google review
The staff was friendly and helpful. It's a nice size waterpark with decent food options. The free drinks and parking is a plus. I recommend getting there early to get a space with an umbrella. The claim shells aren't really work it. Only 1/2 is shaded.
Caramel S — Google review
You really can't beat the season pass price for some summertime water fun! The lazy river was fun. We only tried the water slides a couple of times. Many things need painting, cleaning, and updating. Half of the longers are broken and don't allow you to sit up. There's is noticeable wear and tear on all the slides. We like that they added frozen alcoholic drinks, but they didn't taste that great for the price. On the plus side, the bathrooms and changing areas were always kept clean. With a few updates, touch-ups, and a few special events, Gulf Islands water park could be great, as for now, it's just ok.

The locker personal storage area was convenient to store towels phones at a good price no outside food or drink unless your diabetic that was a great commodity.

Gulfport Premium Outlets is a must-visit outdoor shopping center with over 70 stores, including popular brands like Kate Spade New York and Ralph Lauren Factory. It's the perfect place for a retail therapy session, offering a wide range of products from clothing and accessories to home goods and electronics at discounted prices. Located between New Orleans and Mobile, this outlet mall provides a satisfying shopping experience for enthusiasts.
Gulfport premium outlet is a very nice outlet just outside New Orleans. It has a fairly good selection of high bread mixed with local brands. There is also food trucks and other people selling stuff. There is usually some good deals to be made when you shop in the premium outlet store. Check it out. 😎
Ulrik J — Google review
Nice shopping center with plenty of parking and a variety of stores. We went to a few stores, Nike, Gap, Journey's, the staff was nice, stores clean and organized. We didn't really see any good deals for what we were shopping for and the prices we just ok. I would still recommend to check them out if you're in the area.
Harmmom — Google review
The Gulfport Premium Outlets is not quite as large as some but is every bit as nice or nicer than any other we have visited. Almost all of the major brands are represented. The grounds are kept very clean and well manicured. All of the store staff and mall personnel are very welcoming. A fun place to shop.

The Sketchers store personnel are the best! Helped me with my compromised mobility mom's shoe experience today. Didn't catch his name, dark hair in a ponytail and a mask. Thank u for being so kind!!

Nice outlet mall for those who like the stores that are there. Not many stores are there that I care for, but did go in Under Armour, who had a nice sale going on. No food court anymore. Lots of parking in front and back of site.
Kristin C — Google review
Great experience! The bathroom we went to was so clean and smelled good. Grounds were well-kept! Highly recommend this outlet mall!
Haleigh M — Google review
It's alright but I was thinking it was going to be significantly bigger from the initial view from the I-10. Theres some good shops there but it's missing that taken care of feel it just looks like highschool hallways. It needs to expand, there's a whole closed off road to build off of. The parking lot, get rid of some of it. Build a good food court, give something to attract everyone even further. I just think there's much more that could make this outlet significantly more appealing and would bring more storefronts to the outlet scene in gulfport.
LG — Google review
Very clean outlet mall with plenty of parking. Customer service at Michael Kors was excellent. My wife found exactly what she was looking for, and the sales lady went out of her way to make her feel comfortable shopping there. There was not many people at the mall so parking was great.

The Island View Casino Resort is a dazzling destination that boasts a casino, spa facilities, and direct access to the beach. With 11 different dining options and bars available on-site, visitors are spoilt for choice when it comes to food and drink. The hotel rooms are of high quality and there are ample gaming machines and tables for all patrons. Although winters can be chilly, the ocean views from this resort are breathtakingly beautiful year-round.
Everything is actually really good with this casino, except one thing and it's a very main thing. Their frontline employees could learn a thing or two about customer service. They just ain't got it.They're quite rude in fact. I don't know why they do this or how they're getting away with it. I wish I could explain it. They just don't really go out of their way for anyone unless they absolutely have to. I know a lot of their cleaning staff and night crew is pretty nice generally, and you know, cooks and back of staff employees. Get it together, island view. You could be so much more.

I was comped 3 nights, with endless buffet for my husband I and free play. We wanted to go for my birthday on Nov 3. We stayed Sunday Nov 2 nd and left today Nov 5th. Let me tell you, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Every employee in the hotel, casino and buffet area treated us wonderful! Our room was clean and good size, in the casino our servers were super nice and fast and the employees in the buffet area were so accommodating! We kind of felt like royalty for the past few days. Thank you Island View Casino resort for letting me have one of the best birthday get aways!!!

This is easily my favorite casino in Mississippi. As it’s always a fun and enjoyable experience. There’s constantly sounds of someone hitting a jackpot which makes total sense because they have some of the loosest slots in the Gulf Shores area. There’s always plenty of parking and I love they have one building full of slots and table games for smokers and a separate building full of slots and table games for the non smokers too. Highly recommended. If I could leave 6 stars I earnestly would have.
Jophus M — Google review
My go-to casino for best gaming offers, tier events, & complimentary entertainment with "acceptable" ups & downs on slots. Drink service is sometimes lacking ( up to an hour with no waiter, or waiters who hurriedly pass by "somewhere" in the area oblivious to players trying to flag them to order. Bars are available, but Im reluctant to leave my machines. However, self-serve soft drink stations are a plus. Buffets are sporadically, (not often enough), included in my monthly flyers. However, several food vendors offer a variety for purchase.

I’m soooooo disappointed & extremely upset with how management handled a $200 voucher I won on a machine. This was my first time visiting this casino. Initially, I was having such good luck winning tonight and had planned on giving an excellent review but instead, I’ve got to give this horrible review. Majority of the staff was very nice to me but management as I mentioned earlier, didn’t have the courtesy to even come and talk to me and give me a rundown of why they made the decision they made. But as I said I won $200 and I pull my phone out of my back pocket and my ticket slipped out and I was. I reported it to security and they found the person who picked up my ticket and cashed it in. I was told they Him that he has been seen on the camera Cashing my voucher in. When asked to give it back, he refused and the only thing they did for Me was to ban him from the casino for 24 hours. This is only going to encourage other people to feel like they can do it and get away with it because nothing’s gonna be done to them. I feel like they should require you to have to use your license or your pin number in order to redeem any vouchers at their kiosk & this will easily resolve this issue. They didn’t even call me to tell me anything, I had to call To find out how it was handled. If it was the other way around, and that person Had taken something out of the casino that didn’t belong to them they would press charges against him & banned him.But they made me feel like I wasn’t important to them as a new customer. 1st impressions are everything to me. I had planned on bringing my friends next time, but this First and last trip ever to this casino,

Great pools, both are beautiful on both sides of the road but the newer beach side with the swim-up bar is awesome. I don't gamble, so I just hang out at the pools for days while my husband is in the casinos. The Diner has pretty decent food and the cafe has really great sandwiches and desserts especially the raspberry lemon cheesecake cake. The rooms on the land side are okay the newer rooms on the ocean side are pretty modern and very nice.

I haven’t been to the Island view casino in 10 years. It’s so much better than I remember. I really appreciate the beach view casino being smoke free. The layout was nice. My husband and I were able to play the slot machines side by side. We had fun and will be back!!

The exceptional customer service at Fallen Oak fosters an ideal atmosphere for golfers to focus on enjoying the immaculate grounds. The rough was deeper than the height of the ball, so either be really good and keep it in the short stuff or be really patient finding your ball. All in all, looking forward to going back!

This place is perfection. The service and staff are top notch. The property is beautiful and very well kept. The food and bartending ladies are excellent. Cart girls come around often. The staff is very welcoming and is always very accommodating. You will not find a better golf course or better service at a golf course on the Gulf Coast.

Absolutely breathtaking Course. The turf is manicured perfectly. The greens have a subair system so they’re always in great shape and run quick as the day goes on. I wanted to make sure to write this review as there are not too many on this course. Go ahead and book that tee time. It’s worth every penny.

Beautiful MGM course about 30 min drive from Biloxi. If it is comped for you, it is well worth a visit. Rental clubs used to be free but now $25. Pro V range balls. Nice bar/restaurant.

My dad and I played the whole 18 holes and had a blast. Our first time playing at Fallen Oak. Definitely worth the drive out from the hotel. Great food, great views, very challenging course. Hope to play again in the future when it's not so hot outside and Definitely not during the summer.

This is a beautiful course. The staff was very welcoming and professional. The course is tough but really well maintained and gorgeous. My only small complaint is that they take your driver’s license when you rent a cart and we forgot to get our license back at the end of our round so we had to drive back out the next day. Visit the bar area and back patio as well; it’s stunning.

The Beau Rivage Resort & Casino is a sophisticated hotel with stunning views of the Gulf, featuring a lively casino, an inviting outdoor pool, and a luxurious spa. It's one of the top gaming destinations in Biloxi, offering not only thrilling casinos but also accommodations with amenities like spas and fitness centers. The resort hosts impressive live performances by renowned artists and comedians at its acclaimed theater.
My recent stay at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi, was excellent overall. The service was truly amazing—from check-in to check-out, every staff member was professional and attentive, making our experience top-tier. Likewise, the room was fantastic, offering a luxurious, clean, and quiet retreat. However, I have to mention the Buffet, which desperately needs some loving. It used to be the best on the coast but is currently struggling with food quality and variety. If the buffet could be brought back up to its former standard, the entire resort experience would be flawless, but despite this one issue, my overall stay was great!

I was so impressed with this casino - free valet service; no resort fee; free drinks while gambling; and a beautiful room for a great price! I've been to Vegas recently and these perks have all but vanished. The hotel was very busy, even for a Tuesday night. They have all the modern slot machines. It was a great experience and I'm sure I'll visit again!

My husband and I usually travel out to Vegas three to four times a year staying at all five star hotels. Venetian, Bellagio and Of course the Trump. So recently, we figured would give the Beau Rivage Resort a try, and we are glad we did. The hotel is beautiful, We booked a Suite with the ocean view. We spent three nights 4 days. We play table games, roulette is our favorite but we did play some blackjack and baccara. Meet at the restaurants the food was very good. And we even got to watch a comedy show in their theater. All in all it was a great trip. We did manage to win a little bit of money. Nothing huge but a small profit is better than a loss. Would definitely recommend This resort.

Only MGM destination that doesn't give freeplay when you book a charter flight. The staff is rude, especially at the cashier cage. The drinks are weak, the Old Fashioned was bitters with a splash of grenadine. The slots have no play back, the bonus (IF you get one) are absolutely deplorable. This has to be the tightest slot games I've ever played across the country! I am elite all over as I travel for work. The food is good but overpriced. The nicest part about this place was my server at Caroline's restaurant. Planned an anniversary dinner and got a Happy Birthday card on our table lol. Gee thanks! What a joke. The patronage are rude and disrespectful. Totally bad vibes. Platinum member for 3 years and felt like there was zero perks. The room was standard. No upgrade at all. Not even VIP access. I wont be back, even for a free flight and room. What a waste of time and money. The amount of money I spent should have had me in a suite or atleast offered some freeplay. Its not free comps for food when you spend thousands. So disappointed. What a scam. We won't be back.

BeauRivage was my second home, I experienced wonderful time every weekend. Clean rooms, bathrooms with little samples, morning coffee, everything was great. Dinners at buffet or in sport bar excellent. Entertainment every weekend, artists on the stage and music all night in the casino. Never won big, but enjoyed the silly games on full variety of machines. Thank you BeauRivage for your outstanding hospitality.

The Beau Rivage is one of those Biloxi staples that really feels like a full getaway. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and had that casino-resort polish that makes the stay feel elevated. Service was solid friendly staff, quick check-in, and everyone moved with professionalism. Location is A1… right on the water, right in the action, and everything you need is either inside the resort or steps away. Amenities hit too. The casino, shops, food spots, and the whole vibe make it easy to enjoy your stay without having to run around the city. Overall, the Beau delivers that premium Gulf Coast experience. Hello I would like to let South MS and anyone else that plans to visit the following. Recently me and my brother went for a round of golf at Fallen Oak at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino. Now the Golf course isn’t at the casino but is owned by the Casino. I drove there to meet my brother and play golf. As I pull up to the entrance I see the entrance gate is open. So I turn on and start to drive into the course. As I am driving in the gate starts to close and slams into the side of my truck causing a good dent and very deep scratches down the side of it. The staff was very apologetic and took a report. Then their claims department reached out to tell me let them do an investigation and for me to get 2 estimates on the repairs for my truck. Well then today I get an email that says after. “ Thorough investigation they have deemed that their gate was not defective and therefore cannot provide any payment towards repairing my vehicle.”this was per Dawn Smoak Beau Rivage Resort & Casino , WLOX-TV ABC CBS Bounce , WXXV-TV/Morris Network I cannot understand how such a large company that has video of the gate closing on my truck and decide they are not at fault. The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Biloxi offers luxurious rooms and suites with a rock 'n' roll theme, along with a vibrant casino, diverse dining options, and exciting nightlife. Indulge in the special Gobble Gobble Milkshake at Sugar Factory, featuring Thanksgiving dessert flavors. In addition to gaming excitement, the hotel is a hub for entertainment. Explore nearby attractions such as the historic Biloxi Lighthouse and Hiller Park for outdoor activities.
We stayed for two nights at this hotel in June. We accidentally booked a smoking room through a third party website. When we realized this, we tried repeatedly to get the front desk to help us to change to a non-smoking room. My son has asthma and cannot stay in a smoking room. After quite a bit of discussion with the front desk with no resolution, we asked for a manager's phone number. They have us the number for the Director of Hotel Operations, Brandon Franklin. We explained the situation, took ownership for the fact that this was OUR mistake, but asked if we could simply switch to a non-smoking room. He was extremely helpful, found a solution for us and got us into a new room quickly. We really appreciated his help. Because of him, we have a very positive impression of this resort and will now recommend it to others. The room was a little awkward in layout, but had an amazing view of the pool and Gulf. The pool at the hotel is lovely, well maintained and a very comfortable place to relax away the day. The casino was fun, not overly crowded and we actually won some money! Overall, I highly recommend this resort if you are in our traveling through Biloxi.

I will admit, I docked a star strictly because staff gave us a smoking room, after we requested a non smoking room. Thankfully the smell wasn't a bad as other locations nearby. Loved the jacuzzi tub. Pool was very nice to get to lounge in. Although them closing the bar and pool so early was a minor bummer. Overall, we had a lovely time and will consider staying at again. Just maybe in a non smoking room for sure.

The property is very nice and the customer service is on point. The restaurant choices are plenty but most of the food is just ok. There is no buffet, and for me, that’s what I expect at a casino. The rooms are nice but old and need some updating. I do love the tile walk-in shower. It’s pleasing to the eyes and has a seat built in. The water flow/hot water wasn’t hot consistently. There are 3 shower heads, which I love, but sadly getting all 3 to work properly is difficult. The water pressure using all 3 drastically drops. There is a refrigerator, iron and ironing board, and hairdryer in the room. Plenty of towels. The bed was comfortable and clean. The hallway to my room reeked of weed smell.

The “Premier” Side Ain’t So Premier Alright, so let me start by saying I stayed in the new Premier side of the Hard Rock this time — and honestly, I wish I’d just stuck with the older side like before. The old rooms might’ve had some miles on them, but at least they had personality and working water pressure. This “Premier” setup? More like a fancy disappointment in disguise. First off, the shower pressure was pathetic — felt like I was being spritzed by a nervous garden hose. Then I realized there were no drapes on the windows, so the sun starts blasting in at 6:30 a.m. like it’s trying to prove a point. I tried building a pillow wall to block it, but that didn’t matter because there are boats outside beeping like alarm clocks from hell every single morning. The glass bathroom door made this loud pop! noise every time it opened or closed, like it was about to explode. I reported it, but maintenance ghosted me completely. And the walls are so thin you can hear your neighbors sneeze, cough, and probably contemplate their life choices. Housekeeping? Not great either. The bathroom countertop was dirty, and the doors clearly hadn’t been wiped down in a while. For a “premier” room, it felt more like a backstage mess after the show. Now, I’ll give credit where it’s due — the casino staff were awesome, super friendly, and the casino itself was a blast. The restaurants were great, too — good food, good energy, all-around solid experience there. But man, the hotel side? Not it. Between the weak water pressure, the early morning wake-up calls from the sun and the boats, and walls thinner than a concert flyer, I’ll take the older side any day. At least that part of the Hard Rock knew how to treat you right.

Platinum room was great! Food was amazing! Service was stellar. If there is one thing I would say, they need to update the room description because it says "plush bathrobe" and, welp, let's just say there is def a lack of understanding in the definition of the word PLUSH. Lol!!! Just skip the robe and use the towel lol! But trust me, you're going to love this place!!

Nina was our server at Hard Rock Cafe tonight and she was absolutely amazing and so was the food. She was nice and had great customer service. Our drinks stayed full the entire time we were there. We will definitely be back.

Casino
Nestled on Back Bay Biloxi, Boomtown Casino is an Old West-inspired waterfront casino that prides itself as the Original Locals Casino. Housed on a stationary boat, it offers over 1,400 gaming options including slots, blackjack, craps, and roulette. The five-table poker room hosts friendly tournaments with stunning ocean views. This popular spot in Biloxi also features three restaurants, an on-site bakery, and a general store.
Boomtown is not for everyone, but we always have a great time. Be aware, it is older and very smoky, but table limits are low, drinks are free and easy to obtain. They also offer a wide variety of table games, electronic and standard. Definitely a no frills place, but worth checking out if your looking for free drinks and fun gaming.

I'm visiting Biloxi on an MGM Charter, staying at the Beautiful Beau Rivage. I took "The Hopper" trolley 🚎 to IP Casino. Had a lovely breakfast at Bayside Cafe. I had about 20 minutes before the hopper returned so i decided to walk over to Boomtown and check it out. When i walked in the door the security guard did not say hello, good morning, or anything pleasant only "what do we have here?!!" in a very condescending tone. I had an English muffin and a sausage patty in a to-go container which was in a plastic bag on my wrist. I said oh it's just my doggie bag. Again, in a condescending tone he said "from where?" I said IP. He said "we don't allow food inside the casino". The ironic thing is if he had been even remotely polite i would have likely thrown the muffin away and still went inside to play. But because he was beyond a jerk, I thought why would i want to support this place. I didn't get inside, but from the outside it looks like a dump anyway compared to all the nicer and more friendly casinos in Biloxi. I give almost every review a 5 star but i would give Boomtown a zero if i could. My advice, just skip this unfriendly dump!

The best buffet I’ve eaten at on the Gulf Coast. Worth every penny!!! The food was so awesome and the crab legs were so amazing.

Let’s just say pass the buffet up, they should’ve just NEVER opened it back up. $50 per person for snow crabs that was cold & being served out of a storage container that was sitting in the floor. Talk about a health violation, absolutely NOTHING supposed to touch the floor EVER in a restaurant. I can only imagine what is going on behind those kitchen doors. The crawfish were cold & the potatoes, corn, & sausage were dried out because the pan obviously didn’t have water under it to keep the pan from drying the food out. I lost my appetite & couldn’t even eat. Cold seafood made me sick. The Chef that day even acknowledged that the crabs were cold & no good. They cooked more, but how can I eat after being nauseous the first time. People around us were using knives to saw the crabs open because they were not only cold, but over cooked. Crazy thing we met a couple that had the same complaint about the crabs & said they want be back either. Very disappointing Don’t waist your time or money eating here at all. The only good thing about the visit was the floor manager & the waitress.

Boomtown is a smallish casino that could be considered a locals place. That is not to say out of visitors will not enjoy it. Boomtown is part of the Penn National network of casinos and resorts. It offers 4 restaurants (one - the Sportsbook, is currently being renovated). It recently reopened its' Back Bay Buffet which features Snow Crab legs. Ít has an Asian focused restaurant called Pho Boys that offers Vietnamese favorites along with other traditional Chinese menu items. There is also a quick bites cafe whose highlight is fresh fried chicken along with pizza, sandwiches and salads. The casino floor is showing its age. Although many new slots have been recently added, the bulk of the machines seem dated. The table games are standard fare, with some automated low bet games such as Roulette, Craps and Blackjack are available. This casino does not have hotel rooms!!! However they do offer a RV Park for stays, allowing those who travel by that conveyance a spot to stay during their visit.

We have visited boom town buffet twice before, and both times were great. Unfortunately this time we went Friday afternoon around 4:30 pm and was very disappointed! I don't know if was allowed, but the last two times I went to the grill and asked for a steak and the very nice lady did it asked how I would like it cooked. This time when going to request a steak, a different young lady stood there and looked at me. I asked for a steak and request to be cooked almost rare. I said thank you. But the look she gave me and the whole attitude was uncalled for! Maybe they don't do request, I have no clue. So after I got my steak, I went back to get another one. And a different person was standing there and again I requested for the same thing, well she told me there in the pan and to get that one! Really, all the staff accept for one person, was just down right rude, even when you spoke they either did not acknowledge you was there. The crab meat was good. But some of the food there looked like it had been sitting for a bit. I mean you pay 106.00 for a buffet, maybe some things after a bit should be changed out. I like boom town, it was just a bad food experience that night. Tracy

Boomtown has the lowest table limits and good variety of games. Friendly dealers and pit bosses. I would say this is our favorite casino in Biloxi, it is the ‘blue-collared’ casino of the area. My only complaint is I wish they had a gift shop so I could buy a t-shirt here! Thanks guys!

Room was huge and had a great view. Very clean and great hotel staff. We didn't have a mini fridge but wasn't a deal breaker for us. ( $11 a day to rent) Great Restaurants and other Casinos in walking distance. Beach made the scenery so much more worth it.

It was a good price, but I guess you get what you pay for. The bathroom mat had a small yellow spot on it that looked like pee, and the glass doors had mold all around them. The balcony still had a cup of cigarette butts in it from I’m assuming a previous guest so it kinda made us feel like the room hadn’t been cleaned very well. All of the staff were super nice and very helpful with whatever we needed. The casino/food/pool areas are 10/10 but the rooms are very dated and could use a little sprucing up.

Sorry, but this place was not good. I've traveled extensively and this is probably one of the worst places I've stayed. No fridge in the room, would not clean the room unless you're there 5 days, even after I requested on the fourth. Had to ask for towels twice, shower door let water escape all over the floor, no ice in the ice machine, had to go 2 floors up to get it. Water machine ate our money, then said "sold out". Had to ask to replace shower gel as it ran out mid shower. Room was very outdated. No receptacle on top of cabinets, had to plug and unplug things on power strip on the floor under it. The first room they put us in had a leaky bathtub which water was constantly running, so we had to move rooms. The restaurants in the hotel were excellent tho. Sorry Golden Nugget...u dropped the ball on this one.

Book this for an experience in a casino, loved every minute…great place and it was quite cheap…we had the 11 floor and the views were amazing, This is a smoking casino but didn’t have a smog of smoke lingering. Rooms were a decent size, bed was comfortable and lots of pillows, bathroom had everything you need, decent size iron and powerful hairdryer. Car park was a bit confusing, struggled to find the lift at first, they are in the middle of the car park which takes you to all levels. Would definitely stay again. Travellers from UK 🇬🇧

Casino was nice & quiet. Rooms aren't super updated, but it's not like people go there to be in the room 🙂 Balcony was nice and they do have multiple pools. It's not too child friendly (if you park in the big garage, you have to walk through the casino). There's another entrance through the smaller garage though. I do wish there were more eating options after 12am.

Obviously this is a very old hotel as the air vent in the bathroom hadn't been cleaned in many, many years, the paneling on the cabinet doors and doors had been stripped away in places, the curtain handle had been dislodged and leaning against the wall, some rooms had refrigerators and some didn't (which should be a standard amenity nowadays), no snacks or water available in room, some rooms had sections like seating while others only had 2 chairs. My pillow fell down between the mattress and wall and when I picked pillow off the floor it was covered in lint. The restaurant staff at the grill were extremely nice and the food was superb. I had to remind the hotel front desk clerk that I had about my free breakfast vouchers. Great location. My friend won BIG on the 🎰. So in that regards, it was a great trip for him but accommodations wise was not acceptable.

What a great time in this fabulous hotel in the state of Mississippi. S new Yorker born and bred I am a lot closer to golden nugget Atlantic city. But was looking for a little southern hospitality . I remember the weather was a lot better and enjoyed the palm trees in winter for new york. Nearby there is a few other casinos and margaritaville play place. The rooms were really nice.

Experience the sleek and modern Palace Casino Resort in Biloxi, Mississippi. The hotel offers smoke-free casino gaming, luxurious rooms and suites, as well as a range of dining options and a spa for relaxation. Guests can also take advantage of the pool for some leisure time. The resort is conveniently located near several popular casinos including Golden Nugget Casino, Harrah's Gulf Coast Casino, Hard Rock Casino Biloxi, and Beau Rivage Casino.
The Palace is a great place. We are from Central IL and this is our 2nd stay in 3 years. Love that it is nonsmoking. The food is excellent and the rooms are very nice and clean, a great shower. Everyone we encountered was helpful and friendly. I am someone who is scent sensitive and have allergies to air fresheners and strong cleaners. I cannot tell you how happy it makes me that this place does not smell like that. The perk of the half price buffet when earning points Monday thru Thursday is awesome. The food quality and taste, especially the desserts is top notch. We used to go to Vegas before the pandemic just to enjoy the buffets, but sadly the old Vegas is gone and the Palace has that fun Vegas feel. Palace keep up the great experience and you will see more people like us drive 850 miles to enjoy themselves. Can't wait for our next visit.

I don't know that I can review Palace Casino Resort adequately. We've gone here several times, but we only go for the buffet. We've always been more than happy with it. Food is very good, abundant variety, lots of parking, but a far walk from garage to buffet, service very good. Better than very good. Cheerful, helpful staff. Exceedingly kind on occasion. Price works for us. It's pretty far from home, but we still drive there about every other month or so, maybe more. We use the travel time to enjoy each other's company.

The Palace Casino in Biloxi is a good value accommodation and it seems the rooms have been recently renovated and so, they are quite clean. The staff are very helpful and friendly save for one person who maybe was having a bad day. We were excited to enjoy a breakfast buffet our first morning only to be kind of rudely scolded for not knowing the breakfast buffet is only available on weekends. We were staying during the week. Aside from that one minor attitude, everyone else was very wonderful. The ladies working in the casino cafe are so friendly with good jokes. Even the hotel security staff are very helpful and friendly. The Palace Casino location is great. There’s a very long fishing pier right next to the hotel garage that makes a great place for an evening walk.

The Palace Casino Resort gives you a calm, smoke-free environment that separates it from a lot of other spots on the Coast. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and updated enough to make the stay easy. Service was okay not bad, just not as warm or attentive as I expected for a resort of this size. Location is solid with easy access to the water and a short drive to everything Biloxi has to offer. Overall, it’s a decent, quiet place to stay if you want a more relaxed casino experience without all the chaos. Louie K’s Up approved.

I booked the Palace Casino in Biloxi for 4 nights because it was the only non smoking hotel-casino listed. The 4th floor room was clean and even had a view of the bay and bridge. The only room negatives were that the front door had a gap from its frame and we could hear loud people in the hallway like they were in our room. The second issue was that the mattresses were noticeably hard. The staff were all very nice and we liked the small town feel of Biloxi. The casino slots were noticeably tight. It was the same story at the Golden Nugget. The Beau Rivage was the nicest casino and I even found a few good slots but it was quite smoky. I learned that the slot payout ratio in MS is quite lower than what I was used to, so slots were disappointing in general. I switched to blackjack and came out ahead at the Palace. The dealers were very nice. There are several restaurants inside the Palace. We ate at the one that serves breakfast all day, a few times. Great burger, Reuben and breakfasts. All in all, a most enjoyable stay at the Palace.

We really enjoy the Palace and we do go often. I wanted to give a review to brag about Ms. Edith who works in the coffee shop. She is possibly the most kindhearted person I’ve ever met. Long story short, I did not mean to tip her as much as I did and she jumped through hoops that no one should have to do. The staff tracked me down to return my money to me. It was not expected but it was appreciated. Much love to this sweet lady and it’s a wonderful smoke free casino experience. Ms. Edith made me a patron for life.

Twice now, this casino has done me wrong. Around 5 years ago, I had a $248 slot ticket that had just expired. They refused to cash it. And today, Nov 10 makes two times they did me wrong. Around 10 days ago, I booked 2 comped nights ( Nov 9 & 10). I did not write down my booking number. She said she would e-mail my booking. She did not send the e-mail. I showed up Sunday night, and front desk did not see a reservation. She charged me for two nights, and said the host would take care of it tomorrow, and refund my payment. I spoke to Jamie Creel, player development manager. He refused to refund my payment. I have stayed in casino hotels, probably 2,400 nights, since 1999. I have never paid for a room. This was the first time. He could clearly see that I had two comped nights, and yet he refused to help me. Just wrong !!!

The Davis Bayou Area Gulf Islands National Seashore is a recreational haven on the Gulf Coast, offering a range of outdoor activities such as biking, bird-watching, camping, fishing, hiking and picnicking. The area features a visitor center with informative exhibits and amenities like a wooden fishing pier, boat launch, campground and picnic area with shelters. Visitors can explore scenic trails including the 2-mile-long Davis Bayou Trail winding through coastal forest and over bayous.
So peaceful and beautiful I was there for a plant identification walk... Amazing is all I can say.

Nice barrier island with the Gulf on one side and the Mississippi sound on the other side. Spent a relaxing half day on the island along with a 50 min boat ride to and from the island. There is also a fort you can visit with a guided tour by the Park Ranger. It was flooded when we were there so we couldn't do the tour.

Beautiful spot to go. I actually loved this beach and thought it was better than most I’ve gone to. Much more tranquil and the sand felt amazing on the feet
Caleb K — Google review
The ONLY issue with Gulf Islands National Seashore is the bathhouse facilities at Ft. Pickens campground (loop A). I understand it's a campground shower and toilet, but it could all stand a good cleaning and updating. I'd drop a half a star for that if I could. Also, be prepared to drop $25 for the National Park entry fee, payable by credit or debit card only. Aside from that, this area is just what the doctor ordered if you're looking for a true getaway. There are NO streetlights, restaurants, clubs, traffic, loud neighbors or obnoxious party people. There IS beautiful, clear ocean water, interesting wildlife, soft, white sand beaches, historical ruins, and United States Navy Blue Angels practice flights. My family camped here in August 2025, grabbed groceries at the Winn Dixie, Aldi, and Walmart about 30 minutes up the road in Navarre, and enjoyed a week of snorkeling, napping, eating seafood, and watching sea birds, crabs, and fighter jets all do their thing without having to leave the confines of Fort Pickens.
Jerry — Google review
Gulf Islands National Seashore is one of the true hidden gems along the Gulf Coast. The white sand beaches are pristine, the water is clear and inviting, and the overall atmosphere is peaceful and unspoiled. It’s the kind of place that makes you slow down and just take in the natural beauty. There’s something for everyone — whether you want to swim, relax on the beach, kayak, hike, or explore historic Fort Pickens. The wildlife is also incredible — we spotted dolphins, birds, and even a few sea turtles. The area is clean, well-maintained, and not overcrowded, even during peak season. Parking and restroom facilities are accessible, and the entry fee is well worth it for the experience you get. If you’re looking for a quiet, stunning coastal escape away from the high-rise condos and party beaches, this is it. One of the best beach spots in Florida — hands down.

This place was beautiful! Some areas were inaccessible due to flooding, but most of the trails were fine. The staff was able to point out key animal viewing spots on the park map as well some trails that weren’t marked on the map. I saw baby armadillos, a tortoise, a rabbit, an osprey nest, dolphins, an alligator and a bunch of different sea birds like pelicans and cranes.
