This is part of the US history. We have good, bad and everything in between to remember from our country's past. We can't pretend it doesn't exist and we can't view everything through today's moral lens. This is a nice park and within its boundaries lay the loved ones of many good families. The restrooms are clean and there are many BBQ grills and picnic tables available. Walking around the grounds should cause some reflection about the history of our amazing country.

Beautiful park. I love the museum, so much history collected! They have done a very good job there.

Awesome place good walking trails and old buildings to see

Beautiful, nicely kept up grounds, lovely tribute to the fallen heroes. The museum was small in size, but had so much information it takes awhile to get through it! Many neat pieces of history in it. We enjoyed exploring! We’re not able to go inside the church or barracks, but outside was lovely. We detoured off the hwy on our road trip and so very glad we did!

We were up in Birmingham for an annual checkup. After that we had nothing on schedule so we looked up some state parks on our route back and came up on the Confederate Memorial Park: 437Road 63, Maubury, Alabama 36051. This is a large, well-maintained park supported by the Alabama Historical Commission. The park is beautifully wooded. It has a moderatly sized museum full of civil war era artifacts. Calvin Chappelle is the site director. He is knowledgeable and congenial. He knows his stuff and can answer any and all questions about the war. This particular location was where the Confederate Soldiers Home was located. There are several locations on site that are worth seeing that you can drive to. There are 2 cemeteries, a picnic area and several buildings that are original to the site. Bring you camera. Take pictures.

Beautiful place with amazing historical items. Very peaceful park.

kept up very nice for state park. almost on level of a federal cemetary. tree markers need to be replaced and benches need to be replaced with painted iron benches. wood even treated wood ages so dirty you dont want to sit down on them. also need more benches on some of the trails for old farts like me. LOL

Great stop as you drive through the historic Selma-Montgomery route! It’s very informative as I definitely recommend watching the 25 minute video! The park rangers are very helpful and friendly! I highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area!

This venue is part of the National Park system. It provides a crucial piece of history as it highlights the Civil Rights movement in Selma, specifically highway 80 which is where the historic Selma to Montgomery march took place in 1965. The exhibits are fantastic and the book store is stocked with very nice items. There is plenty of free parking and restrooms are located in the venue.
Fred I — Google review
This Museum highlights the Civil Rights movement in Selma, where the 1965 peace March took place. Excellent exhibits, great bookstore. Full of very important history. Recommended!
Brenda S — Google review
Located on Highway 80 about 6 miles from the entrance to the Park. Very large building with a new sign out front SELMA to MONTGOMERY Interpretation Center and a National Park Service emblem. Another emblem is on the face of the building. Entry is from the parking lot side. If you have a National Park Passport the stamps are at the front desk in the gift shop. Plenty of parking for RVs and quite a few picnic tables offering a shady break. Entrance is free and the Museum is well laid out. Strongly encourage if you have time to step in and view the video. Quite a bit of history that is important to remember. What is interesting is the museum was built on its location for significant reasons. One being it has six acres that were used by the marchers to camp for the night on their march to Montgomery. The design of the museum is interesting - the front resembles the Brown Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church and the dome symbolizes the Edmund Pettus Bridge. The bridge itself is 20miles to the right as you exit the Park toward Selma. There are statues and a small Park on the right at the bridge but parking is limited. More parking is available on the left side of the highway. The area with statues, plaques, etc. is to commemorate the Freedom Movement and those key leaders. However, probably due to city budget issues, the area is a bit worn out. Selma itself has fallen on hard times. However, if you have time you can use one of the handouts from the museum and drive past each of the churches where the marchers gathered and on Bloody Sunday sought refuge

Wilderness Park/Bamboo Forest

Park
Nature & Parks
Small dog-friendly park featuring a trail through bamboo trees & a frog pond in a serene setting.
Short hike as a fun afternoon activity. Picnic table available. At least 4 types of bamboo grow here and are interesting to see up close.
Stephanie G — Google review
Its indeed a Bamboo forest. There are different types of Bamboo trees. Its good for a hike. We saw a big catfish in the pond. The children were excited to be there.
Oluchi N — Google review
Small park with a relatively short walking path with a very minor incline. The path needs some maintenance, especially on the far part which has a long section of exposed roots. The bamboo canopy provides a lot of shade. Information signs about the types of bamboo are found along the path. Some seating along the path.
Darryl P — Google review
Very cool place to stop and stretch your legs cool history behind the area also. Feels like you stepped into the jungle.

The log in the frog pond is slippery,so beware if you dare to venture out onto it.Its very peaceful and beautiful

Amazing course! I drove 3 hours from Florida to play Sherling/ Canyon a week ago and loved it so much I made a return trip today with friends. It's hard to believe three is elevation changes like this so close to Florida. They were as blown away as I was. The views are amazing. The conditions were perfect. The staff is wonderful. I can't wait to return again.
Trey E — Google review
The course was in great condition. The staff was pleasant and went out of their way to help and take care of us. I'm Looking forward to playing there again.
B — Google review
Thoroughly enjoyed the round at Cambrian. We played Sherling and Canyon. It is a beautiful course, well maintained, and in very good shape. It’s quite hilly but that’s what makes it so interesting. Every hole is unique. There’s a good bit of water. The greens are undulating and can be challenging. We played on a Sunday in late March and the course wasn’t crowded at all. I’m not a great golfer and didn’t have a great round, but was still worth it. I would definitely recommend it.
Tripp S — Google review
Cassi has been our waitress at The Grille. She is wonderful! She knows the menu inside and out and expertly guides our selections. The food is always top notch and service was excellent. Groups of our friends often visit The Grille and enjoy our lunch in beautiful surroundings overlooking the golf course.
Helena S — Google review
Probably the best kept secret along the Robert Trent Jones Trail. This golf course is on the same level as Ross Bridge with regard to beautiful vistas. The tee boxes, fairways and greens are in spectacular shape. The Staff are wonderful and helpful. We had an absolutely amazing experience here today and we will be back.
Frank F — Google review
First course on our RTJ golf trip and it set the bar high. Played Loblolly and Sherling. Both courses in great shape. Few flat fairways - they're rolling with elevation changes. Greens are big and in great shape. Each green was unique - challenging you with undulations, slopes and plateaus. Really enjoyed this course. Highly recommend.
Mike M — Google review
I had a wonderful lunch with the most wonderful, attenive, and friendly server, Cassi. She made our dining experience most enjoyable! I really would like for the onion rings and onion straws to be put back on the menu! They were delicious and one of my favorite items! Please bring them back!
Rhonda B — Google review
Beautiful course. Staff was so friendly and for the price you can’t beat it. We drove in from Florida and so worth it. Truly a gem here in Alabama

I love this adventure. It is always fun and the owners are very informative and friendly. I would recommend to try it out. I would suggest bringing water to hydrate and sunscreen. My teenagers had so much fun too.
Devin B — Google review
What a fun adventure!! The river was awesome, Chris was super informative, chill and gave the best advice. I was a little nervous about the rapids but am so glad we did it! It was my favorite part of our whole trip. Strong recommend!
Jenna C — Google review
The water was high and the weather was perfect. Coosa River Adventures is a great adventure getaway. You park, check-in, get a safety talk, and then get on buses to take you to the drop in point. Plenty of places to stop along the way to swim or snack. Seven miles of kayaking, canoeing, or stand up paddle boarding down the Coosa River. CSA provides life jackets and have just about anything you could possibly need to purchase of you forget anything. Don't bring glass. Pack up all your trash and enjoy the river.
Michelle M — Google review
I've been to this place about 3 times now and LOVE it. It's even better right after rainy weather because there are some rapids. If you blast through it's about a 3 hour trip but you can stretch it out as long as you are back at 5pm c.s.t. we try to always make it a day trip. Stopping to drink, snack, and swim all along the way. The owner is super cool and you can't beat the price. Just be respectful and have fun!
Brooke L — Google review
10 out of 10 experience I recommend going. Make sure you make a reservation tho. The Owners are great. Make the safety meeting so fun. I want to congratulate them on 25 yrs... the scenery is beautiful and it is an amazing fun time. Takes about 3 to 4 hours to get down the river. Thank you guys for the amazing day. As always. It was a blast.
Debra M — Google review
Awesome place. The staff and the guide Chris are awesome but a bit noisy. The old lady giving appointments was really sweet to us. We appreciate their work and helping nature. Prices are very reasonable. Please check the website and call them to schedule appointment.
Jaya K — Google review
Was our 1st kayak trip as a family. We had a blast! Our son 15 is not & can not swim, but no worries the team fits everyone into the perfect life jacket & kayak. Very thorough & fun safety presentation. We got lost a bit from the crowd & had to navigate choosing which side of the river to take during the splits. There are rapids I believe 1-3 class sizes. Most folks I noticed stayed towards the right side of the river, once we got through the splits & could see them. I'm guessing those are the smaller rapids? We did hit 1 class 3 rapid, that flipped me. I rode under my kayak, legs tucked to protect from rocks in Rapids, holding onto my pattle, determined not to lose & be charged for missing equipment. Lol.. The kiddo & hubby didn't flip, but Oh my, it was so hot mid July, I didn't mind!! Riding the river is refreshing & part of the fun! It's a 4 hour trip (or) longer depending on stops. Take lots of sun block, water, pack lunches & yes grab the beer! They hand out nice mesh bags for trash. Don't be a jerk, keep the river beautiful & enjoyable for everyone, for years to come!! I mention taking sunblock, don't put on prior & think your coverd. We were all burnt except our son. We all had sunblock on, but didn't take to re-apply. Definitely a must to do! We are very happy we decided to take this adventure. Visiting our family in the area, as we traveled in from Columbus, Ohio. We will definitely be back!! Thanks to the staff for hosting us, making our trip so memorable & fun. I highly suggest visiting Coosa River Adventures & taking the trip! If you have ever been White Water Rafting, the Rapids are not near as bad, but a whole lot of fun! Some rapids are larger than others. In my experience if looking for the larger ones, hit the left side of the river! Wear water shoes incase tipping so you can grip the rocks to get back in your kayak, buy cheap sunglasses, hats & anything that can be lost in the river. Most of all have fun, laugh, enjoy the ride & flow with the river!! ;-)
Isabella I — Google review

History Museums
The Rosa Parks Library & Museum Childrens Wing in Alabama is a culturally significant landmark that recounts the historical impact of the 1955 bus incident. It features a wide collection of exhibits related to the South's Civil Rights movement and segregation. The museum caters to both adults and children, offering interactive displays that bring history to life. Visitors can take a 45-minute time machine tour, which provides an immersive experience of living through America's not too distant past.
Great tour. Great bus ride in the time traveler. Very well laid out and easy to follow. A lot of history regarding civil rights.
Mike M — Google review
I personally loved the museum! However, my kids did not and I can understand why. They’re young, and I feel it is more of an older kid/teen thing. The immersive experience was great! I really enjoyed learning about the civil rights movement, and the first hand accounts that were included. The art part of the museum was really amazing as well!
Kaitlan L — Google review
This is such a well done museum. The bus has to be seen to be believed. The story of Rosa Parks and the Montgomery Bus boycott a pivotal event that fueled the civil rights movement and got Martin Luther King Jr. Involved (was where he started in the movement) the displays and information is really helpful to understand the times and key events and that one person can make a difference.
Joel H — Google review
We brought a large number of students to review the museum and the interactive display was riveting! The students related well to the feeling of living through that time in America's not too distant past. The exhibit really carried them back in time. They understood more clearly the scope of the problems that motivated many of our ancestors to act as they did to secure their freedom. Great lessons for today's organizers. Well done!
Victor H — Google review
The time machine bus was fine, but the staff annoyed at us being there ruined it for us.
Erica I — Google review
Wonderful and innovative exhibit. The history is so rich and wonderful. Small, but very impactful
Sheila S — Google review
We were in the children's wing on a field trip. I was disappointed that, although we were "riding" on Rosa Parks bus, they have information about the struggles of African Americans from 1840-1950's, which is important to know, but not much on what Rosa Parks did. It would have been nice to have footage in the video of that. They teased in the video, saying that something big was about to happen, but didn't talk about it. Instead the kids went on a scavenger hunt for info, but I don't remember that the info found was that much about Rosa, as well. I was just hoping that such an important woman would have more info about her.

Montgomery Zoo & Mann Wildlife Learning Museum

Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
The Montgomery Zoo & Mann Wildlife Learning Museum is a sprawling 40-acre zoo that houses over 700 animals from five continents. Visitors can embark on a journey through various habitats, encountering zebras, tigers, camels, and monkeys roaming freely without cages or barriers. The lush greens between habitats provide a picturesque setting for exploring the diverse animal exhibits. Additionally, the zoo offers unique experiences such as behind-the-scenes tours of elephant and tiger habitats and giraffe feeding encounters.
My husband and I went on Military Appreciation Day. We took 2 of our grandchildren ages 6 and 8. It was a great day. The zoo was big enough that it kept us busy all day. Yet small enough that it didn't overwhelm us. They are upgrading the zoo and some animal exhibits were closed.
Lynne P — Google review
8/2025 We like zoos and had a little extra time in Montgomery so we decided to stop by. It was hot so some animals were inside, but we really liked the ones we saw including the Pygmy hippos, elephants, lions, cheetahs, other cats, rhino, chimpanzees, lemurs, and more. Nice place to spend a couple hours!
Mark S — Google review
Our first time going: 1. Lacks directional signage for how to navigate around the zoo. 2. Tickets are priced too high for the few animals on exhibit. 3. Accessible for mobility impaired customers seemed good 4. Gift shop was small but cute I will table my plans to buy a membership until I can determine if it is worthwhile once more exhibits are open and renovation is further along. 5
Katrina U — Google review
We are a zoo lover visiting zoos in South Carolina, Ohio, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, Florida, and now Alabama. I’ve seen worse. But I’ve definitely seen better. The good: Parking was great. Plenty of parking. No complaints there. Prices for food was good, especially for a zoo. The staff at the overlook cafe was phenomenal. I gave this zoo an extra star just for the staff at the cafe. Customer service matters! The bad: The exhibits were small and often left me feeling bad for the animals because it seemed too small for animals of their size and normal range. My biggest complaint though is not enough bathrooms and the signs directing you around the park were awful. Very confusing and not enough of them.
Michelle S — Google review
Went with my wife as part of a romantic getaway weekend. Great park clean amenities and lovely animals to gaze upon. We were there when they opened the gates and the ticket booth operators were all very nice and quick moving making for a fast entrance and great experience overall from beginning to end!
Joey P — Google review
All animal facilities looked well kept and adequately sized. Staff definitely looked interested in the animal welfare. Couple of exhibits closed (including alligator) and the skyline wasn't open during our weekday visit. Gift shop renovation ongoing... Take plenty of water when it's warm, no water stations around the site and $3 for a bottle in the cafe
Graham Y — Google review
Service was excellent. A few exhibits were closed for remodeling. Looking forward to seeing it when they are finished.
Sheree R — Google review
The Montgomery zoo is under construction at this time. The front entrance is the main thing that they seem to be working on. I think the money would be better spent on the animals and their habitats. It was very hot, some of the animals may have been inside for their own safety, but there were many that were not available for viewing.

Sights & Landmarks
The Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church is an important historical site in the city of Atlanta, which is known for its role in the civil rights movement. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. served as the church's pastor from 1954 to 1960, and it was during this time that he led the Montgomery Bus Boycott. The church has since been recognized as a National Historic Landmark and remains an important part of Atlanta's history today.
Awesome Church And A Greater Historical Monument For Dr. Martin Luther King, History At Its Best For All To See On Dexter Avenue, Right Down From The Capital Of Montgomery, My Cousin, Anthony Moody And Natalya Moody, Visited My Wife, Heather, And I Here In Montgomery From Toledo, Ohio And They Were Very Fascinated To See History At Its Best.

We thought the Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church was a lovely example of churches from the period. The history that occurred here is undeniable and this was a definite crucible of change. Unfortunately it was locked the morning that we visited but you could not miss the history here, even viewing only from the outside.
Louis E — Google review
Absolutely Loved! This is my second visit here and it is still heartwarming to be in the place where THE DR. Martin Luther King, Jr preached and lived. The history is amazing!
Sharen R — Google review
One of the most historic churches in Montgomery where MLK served as pastor from 1954 to 1960! I highly recommend stopping by while visiting Montgomery!
Daniel D — Google review
Pretty church in downtown Montgomery that was an important location in the Civil rights movement. If you're visiting civil rights sites in the south, it should be on your stop. Across the street is a marker commemorating Jefferson Davis' inauguration and is easy walking distance to the Alabama state capital building where he took his oath of office. Oh, the irony of the start of the Confederacy, and the civil rights movement. Happy to see the civil rights movement ultimately winning the war, though, the battle continues to this day.
Dennis B — Google review
Beautiful. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Martin Luther King, Jr. He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Elizabeth A — Google review
If you go to Montgomery, Alabama and do not stop here you are denying yourself the chance to experience American History. The two ladies who help run the museum side of the Church, epitomize Southern Hospitality. I was greeted with a hug from each and their knowledge of Dr. King and the Church was deep. This Church is an absolute much visit, I found myself moved by the simplistic beauty of the Church and personally impacted by being able to touch the lectures Dr. King used and humbled to stand in his office. I recommend visiting the Church and the Civil Rights Memorial in an afternoon. You can see the Church thoroughly in 90 minutes or less but you better be sure to give those ladies a hug when you come in and before you leave they were a delight to converse with. Admission is free but they run on sales from their gift shop and donations.

I have seen this church on T.V many times during my childhood. I didn't know the church was right across the street from the state capital. Beautiful old building that still serves as a house of worship. Very historic very nice. I recommend seeing this landmark

The Civil Rights Memorial Center stands as a poignant tribute to the brave individuals who championed civil rights in America. Designed by the acclaimed architect Maya Lin, this remarkable site features a circular black granite table inscribed with the names of those who lost their lives during this pivotal struggle, accompanied by a serene stream of water that flows over it. The adjacent center offers visitors an immersive experience, showcasing stories of civil rights martyrs through informative videos and interactive exhibits.
The Civil Rights Memorial is a thoughtful tribute to the africans who were victims of murdered through legal and illegal lynching. You feel their spirits crying out for justice. I felt the impact even more when I found one of my great granddads' names hanging there. I had no idea how close the injustice was to my family. The Memorial reminded us of all the forgotten african ancestors who were murdered through the injustice of a society that didn't value their lives. A must-see exhibit for those interested in the history of the African in the American South.

Small but memorable. Nicely done exhibits. Friendly staff. Google maps takes you to a locked gate. The actual entrance is around the corner.
Kim R — Google review
While in Montgomery for work, I visited the Civil Rights Memorial the weekend before Election Day, in the heart of the Confederacy, where some monuments still stand. The 'Traveling While Black" exhibit is a virtual reality experience, allowing you to sit in on conversations at Ben's Chili Bowl (a safe haven for Blacks), as we weren't welcomed in restaurants, hotels, gas stations, etc. on our journeys. It'll be open until January. Stirring, haunting presentations of this country's racial struggles were admittedly hard to watch, but this visit was needed. Though hurtful, it's necessary to see where we've come from to forge the path toward equality and justice for ALL. The division I see daily makes me sad for humanity, but I know there is hope. Change starts with ALL OF US. Let's purposely show that we matter to each other!

We stopped here on a trip on our way to Florida it was my best friend and my daughters. Beautiful time of reflection. A quite time to honor those who lost their life to make ours better. It did remind me of the memorial that was in Washington DC for the Vietnam vets. I was surprised to see the water coming down the wall as well as the granite fountain with the names on it.

The Alabama State Capitol, located on Highway 80 in Montgomery, is a stunning example of Greek Revival architecture. Reconstructed in 1850 after a fire destroyed the original building, it holds great historical significance as the place where the Confederacy began and where Jefferson Davis took his oath as President of the Confederate States of America. The site also played a pivotal role in the civil rights movement, with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivering one of his most famous speeches here.
It was a nice visit! We got to see several rooms in the Capitol building. The landscaping was beautiful since the camillias were in full bloom. It was also great to see the moon tree. Good visit!

A bit of construction going on. No clear signage for entrance or activities. I was in the area and made an impromptu stop so I didn’t have time to look on the Internet for what might be going on. Had there been informal outside signs then I might’ve stayed longer and given a better review. Wow, I’m just looking at the next questions on this survey and noted that there were tickets to purchase?? A tour?? Everyone is not of the electronic generation so outside signage would be a plus especially for those passing by or in town for a short while.

Spent 30 minutes doing the self-guided tour with the pamphlet. As others have said, more of a museum piece as it is not active with the house, senate and judiciary meeting in other buildings. Have been to nearly 20 state and provincial capitol buildings and this is at the bottom of the list. Very plain, the grounds lack any real gardens or statuary, no information highlighting the state or directing you on how to learn more, no website info or signage directing you to the entrance and in need of some upkeep (plaster on the floor, doors split, etc.). But still, a good visit and glad to have stopped by but would rate a 3.7.

Very beautiful capitol building. Saw it at dark. Can’t wait to see it during daylight. The columns are stunning and balconies, oh my. There is some stained glass too. Beautiful monuments all around too.

I really enjoyed my trip to the Alabama State Capitol. The building is stunning—inside and out—and the grounds are peaceful and well maintained. Walking through the halls felt like stepping back in time, and the exhibits do a great job highlighting the state’s history. Staff and guides were welcoming and happy to answer questions. It’s a great stop whether you’re a history buff, a civics fan, or just exploring Montgomery. I’m really glad I visited!

What a beautiful building and loaded with incredible art. Worth a tour if you're close by.

I'm sure this is probably a stunning capital building but I was highly disappointed that I couldn't take a tour because it was Juneteenth and they were closed. Guess I gotta come back again to see the inside.

I took my SGA students down for a tour. The staff was very kind and knowledgeable, and the process of planning was simple. Parking is an issue. I had to park my bus a half mile away and walk back and forth for my students' needs. Directions to the proper entrance were a bit vague.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Montgomery, The First White House of the Confederacy is a stunning Italianate mansion that holds a significant place in American history. Constructed in 1835, this elegant residence became home to Jefferson Davis and his family during the Civil War when Montgomery served as the Confederate capital from February to May 1861.
It is so wonderful they moved this here in 1921, not even 60 years after the Confederacy. It looks beautiful, even at night with it lit up, I hope it is here for many more years to come so everyone can see history with their own eyes. I was here after it closed, but seeing it from the street is still amazing

The frontman was very informative! We enjoyed listening to the brief history story. The house is well kept! Very beautiful, it gives you the 1800’s movie feeling! Must visit if you’re around the area

Well done and detailed museum. I'm not familiar with Southern history (I'm a Westerner) so it's very interesting and informative visiting museums like this. It makes me want to learn more. The staff is really knowledgeable and helpful.

A MUST! For everyone. This is the BEST tour we’ve had by far, by the most incredibly knowledgeable friendly and open guide - Mr. Bob. Even the kids wanted to stay more and more. What an important and unique experience that no one should miss.

If I could give more stars I would. The First White House of the Confederacy is one of the finest museums we have been to anywhere. Beautifully preserved with wonderful artifacts displaying a brief slice of history. The staff are some of the most gracious, knowledgeable and friendly people we have had the pleasure to me. This home has mostly original furnishings and detailed descriptions of each room. A definite must see, so elegant.

The people working at the museum really knew their history and had much enthusiasm for it. I'm glad to see it preserved. It's amazing to see how detailed and ornate the furniture and other items are.

Dexter Parsonage Museum

Nestled just a block away from the Alabama State Capitol, the Dexter Parsonage Museum stands as a poignant reminder of the Civil Rights movement. This clapboard parsonage was home to Martin Luther King Jr. and his family during their pivotal years in Montgomery from 1954 to 1960. It played a significant role in history, serving as a gathering place for supporters during events like Rosa Parks' bus boycott, which challenged segregation laws.
We didn't know what to expect, but it turned out an amazing afternoon visiting the Dexter Parsonage museum. After an interesting video, we were given an intimate tour of the property where MLK lived, with all the stories and context given by our amazing tour guide. A unique experience to see such a significant place up close without red tape or waiting lines, and especially with such a great guide. Truly wonderful.
Rudolf V — Google review
It was an honor to visit the Dexter Parsonage Museum. My family and I received a guided tour lead by Sarah (4/12/2025) who was phenomenal. She was so welcoming, knowledgeable, explained each crevice of the house thoroughly. I was so intrigued not only by the beauty and history of the home but how Sarah spoke and gave so much history behind the home plus more. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to not only know the history of the home, but feel the history of the home to visit for a tour.
Nico S — Google review
Wondeful tour. So rich in the history of MLKas a young pastor. Make sure you take a tour; otherwise, much will be missed. Well worth it!

Got there as they closed but they were nice enough to give us a tour of MLK's home the lady 's name escapes me but there were 3 of them all very nice and friendly and beautiful as well
Samuel T — Google review
Great hour tour. It was just what we were looking for on MLK day. The tour might not start off great. They have you watch a 10-15 min poorly produced video of the home’s history before going over. In my opinion they could completely cut that out. The talking and in-person storytelling was much better. The tour guide did an awesome job telling the story of 54-60 as though we were there. He had lots of anecdotal evidence and retrospection, meeting history. I don’t think he could have done a better job delivering historic wonderment to the kids in the group. He tailored the tour to the audience well. There may be some points that are more round about, but the tour is a well spent hour of your time while in Montgomery. Make sure to follow the Dexter Parsonage up with going to the MLK’s Church on 454 Dexter Ave!

I enjoyed this visit unfortunately both works were on lunch so we weren't able to get inside to see everything. The one employee was able to assist with giving us additional information and history about the site. We will be heading back soon.

Hidden gem! We were the only people there and got so much out of it. We had an awesome tour guide and are sad people are not visiting this place more. It's a historical landmark for the Civil Rights Movement in the U.S. This place marked me personally and I'd strongly recommend it to anyone driving through or in the area.

This tour was facilitated and led by women who were descendants of the Civil Right Movement in Alabama. These volunteers lovingly shared their personal and documented stories with us. This is an amazing tour. Thank you ladies! A must if you are in Montgomery!

I wish 10 stars was an option, this place went above and beyond my expectations. The drive-through attraction was well worth the money. The whole group talked about if we lived closer, we would have a season pass to this. The way the animals interacted with you was just great! You had a few thieves in the crowd, but you learn how to pick up on them real quick and in a hurry! The staff was wonderful and very inviting. The facility was immaculate, and so were the grounds. You could tell that every animal there was very well taken care of. I would highly recommend this if you have a family and you want everyone to really enjoy themselves.
Josh B — Google review
What an awesome place!! So excited to go back! My family and I go to Wetumpka every year for our family reunion and are always looking for new things to do while there. This year we hit the jackpot when we discovered the Safari. The price is right and you can enjoy a whole day there just driving through feeding the animals and seeing them interact with each other and other drivers. The price is fair and once you go through, you realize that you actually got a great deal. The animals are obviously well treated and maintained. They are TRAINED to know exactly how to get food from all the cars. It was very funny to see how they gang up on cars. There's always the one leader that just stands in front of the car to make sure you stop and then all the others come around and gang up on the car. The Camels were like that too. Loved that they had the Scottish Cows. They were a fan favorite. Zebras are amazing to look at and they are beautiful creatures. Even the birds were awesome. Would definitely recommend anyone looking for a way to spend the day doing something different, to check this place out. We will be back next year!
Carlos C — Google review
HIGHLY recommend going!! Lots of animals came right up to the car. Lots of laughs with my family too! Should have bought more food, we ran out earlier than we would have liked. Just fyi, your car may get some of the food in it from the animals when they lift their heads, totally worth it to us!

I had the opportunity to go to the Alabama Safari park not far from Montgomery, Alabama. This is a drive-through Safari Park. Buy your tickets at the souvenir shop. Don’t forget to get your food for the animals. It was a lovely drive. The animals come right up to your car some block your car be careful of the zebras, They will grab that bucket from you. Take your time and enjoy the different animals coming up to your car. It was a great experience. I would definitely love to do it again when I’m in the area.
Marlene — Google review
This place was amazing! The grounds are beautiful and well kept. There are so many animals and the up close experience is like no other! Get the food buckets to feed the animals but make sure you hold the bucket tight and save some for the end because it’s a long trail. The llamas will try to trap you and the camel will steal your bucket! We also loved the budgie bird experience. We would recommend this place to anyone.
Jamie T — Google review
I took my 6 yr old granddaughter for first the time. She loved it. Riding through the park seeing the animals and feeding them was a great experience. They also have a walk through area too. She can't wait to go back again. Two thumbs up!!!
Kathryn D — Google review
Went here on Labor Day and we had a lot of fun!! We enjoyed all the animals! The best part was being able to feed them and pet them. The only precaution I'd like to give people is get ready for your car to be scratched up by some of the animals (especially the bulls). They don't mean to hurt your car, they just love to come up for food and attention and their horns get in the way. We don't mind the scratches on our truck. It will be a nice story to tell people :)
Diala — Google review
It was absolutely incredible. I already want to go again. The animals seemed very well cared for and have a ton of land. I'd recommend getting at least five bowls if you want enough to make it through the whole park, because the llamas, camals and zebras will definitely take the bowls from you whether you like it or not. 😂

Priester's Pecans

Candy store
Shopping
Sprawling cafe & gift shop offering a wide range of candied pecans, plus fudge & other sweet treats.
It was our first time in Priester's. We loved it! We arrived during lunchtime on a Wednesday. It was mildly busy but not too crowded to browse and see the plethora of items the store has to offer. We sampled some pecans and coffee. I bought a cup of the pecan pie coffee and loved it. Sadly, I didn't notice the fudge until I had gotten in line. We will stop again sometime.
Jason A — Google review
It was somewhere between the churn of I-65 and the slow drawl of South Alabama earth that we came upon it, not so much a store as a monument—Priester’s Pecans, a place steeped in sugar and sunlight, where time melts like butter on a warm biscuit and every corner smells of memory. We stepped inside and were met not by noise, but by atmosphere, thick with praline and pie, divinity and brittle. The air itself seemed to hum, like something old and good was still baking just out of sight. The pecans—Lord, the pecans—were not mere snacks but offerings: roasted, glazed, candied, or cloaked in chocolate like something from a dream that woke up in a rocking chair. Each one held a story, cracked open and told with every bite. And behind the counter, the people. Not hurried, not hollow-eyed like in those cold modern shops, but slow-moving and sweet, like syrup in January. They spoke as if they had nowhere else to be and nothing more important to do than help you find the right box for your mama, or that pie your granddaddy liked before he passed. It wasn’t just a shop. It was a cathedral of comfort, built out of pecan shells and Southern pride, a place where every jar of preserves and every handful of pralines whispered that you were home, even if home was still five hours down the road. So we left with our arms full and our hearts fuller, knowing that Priester’s Pecans was not just a stop—it was a sacred pause. A place where sweetness is still slow, still sacred, and still made by hands that remember what matters.
Owensfamilyarvada — Google review
I’ve driven by here many times but never stopped…..until today! We had a great lunch - chicken salad and pimento cheese sandwiches. They also have hot buffet foods, ice cream, pecans, fudge, clean restrooms, and a full gift shop. We will make this a regular stop on our future I-65 travels. Thanks Priester’s!
Glenn J — Google review
What's not to like, great sweets with the largest freshest variety anywhere around. Better than the gift shops at the beach . Where else can you get a dozen flavors of fudge candy jars for yards and ice cream scoops that actually fill the sugar cone? Not to mention watching the candy being made or any of the delectable pecan treats they are known for ( which like the fudge ,you can sample before buying. Though previously I would've said pecan logs were my favorite, I have of late moved into the fiddle faddle camp!! YUM is the word. For all you decorators out there seasonal home goods won't disappoint. Children, the toy and T selection is top notch surpassing the Cracker Barrel and guys if you need to stay busy, pick out some groomsmen gifts or get yet another desktop book of quotes then they have you covered as well. Stop on your way down to the beach for fashion hats and caps not to mention dresses and babywear to turn heads ( puffy sleeves galore ) . And if you need to just let the children run around before the rest of the trip , there is a large clear grassy hill just for that beyond the picnic tables. Rockers and ferns on the shady porch available for all non runners, and even a dog/pup watering station. Magnets and coffee cups sure, but oh so much more.

Great store. I have stopped here many times on road trips down south. The pecans themselves are amazing. They have so many different variety’s. They really have something for everyone Nut wise. Every time I’ve been in the bathroom here it is very clean. The staff are always super friendly and helpful. The coffee is amazing. I always get at least two pounds when I go. On my last visit I decided to try there lunch. It was very reasonably priced and delicious fried chicken! I highly recommend stopping by!

I live in Fairburn, GA, and this is the closest and most convenient casino for me. I usually take my dad, who loves to gamble, and it serves its purpose. What we love: * Convenient/ Distance * Reasonably priced machines What we dislike: * No free drinks * No food service on weekdays * Designated smoking area is limited with higher machines * Strict dress code We’ve been going for about two years, but the recent changes have been inconvenient and have decreased our overall enjoyment of visiting this location.
Nicole D — Google review
I decided to stop at this casino after seeing all the highway advertising, especially since they offered RV parking, which was convenient for my motorhome. The RV setup was fine, and the casino itself was clean — but that’s about where the positives end. For a Saturday night, the place was surprisingly dead. Very few people, no energy, and I didn’t see anyone winning at the machines. It felt more eerie than entertaining. Overall, it was just an odd and underwhelming experience. Not sure I’d go out of my way to return.

Will not be back we went and they would not let me in with a tank top shirt at three o’clock in the afternoon at a hundred and five degrees weather it smelled musty and smoky at the front door. We had 12 in the party no wonder they don’t have any business We went to wind Creek in Montgomery fifteen minutes away went right on in and won thousand dollars i’m glad they didn’t let us in😁 looks like the lady at the front door is turning away their business

Great comp play for new players! It is very inclusive for everyone and all different mobility challenges and lifestyle choices (smoking/nonsmoking). The location is super easy to find and I was so happy it was only 37 minutes from Auburn! My best friend gambled for the first time and won!!!!

My first time there. It's a nice casino. Would have given 5 stars if we won any money. At least I broke even.
Ang T — Google review
Today was my first time here in many years. It may be due to the holiday, but there were only a few players in the casino, and it was strangely quiet. Apparently, the volume on most machines was turned down too. Thankfully, they give Free Play to players who have never received the new Player’s Card, a great way to attract guests. They also give Free Play for your birthday. They have simulcast racing upstairs where you’re able to bet and watch the race on the monitors. It’s in a very convenient location right off of I-85. Unfortunately, I can’t speak on the food and drinks. We didn’t purchase either.

Well stocked. Boots, shoes, clothing. Clean restrooms. Clean store. Organized interior. Amazing selection of Wrangler jeans. I bought my first real pair of cowboy boots there about 6 years ago. Highly recommend. I always make a point to stop in and shop. Last trip... new jeans!!

You’re going to be watched and followed while you’re shopping, not sure if they’ve had a huge problem with theft or what but that’s no reason to treat all of your customers like thieves. It’s to the point it makes you uncomfortable and the staff is already not very friendly in the first place. Also who is picking out the clothes for the women’s section? Do better. Oh and if you don’t mind buying last years shoes for this years prices, this is your store. This place has gone down hill.

Love this store... I picked up some Hey Dude shoes on my first Visit and on yesterday 1/20/24 I picked up a bogg bag. I will be returning. The ladies at the register are always nice and helpful. I recommend this store to find all kinds of shoes, boots, bags, clothes and belts. They also have kid shoes and things for men and women. They also have all sizes of the bogg bags. I got the small this time... next trip I will get the medium. Just go visit if you was wondering. Even if it's just for the experience. You won't regret it. Prices are average. They have sales.

As an African American woman who values supporting small businesses, I was deeply disappointed by my recent visit at establishment. Upon entering the store, four Caucasian employees (two engaged in a personal conversation) completely ignored me. No greeting, no offer of assistance, nothing. If customer service isn’t a priority here, perhaps that should be noted on the door. Today you missed out on my business and the opportunity to earn what could’ve been your biggest blessing of the day. People, please do not patronize where you're not recognized. Do better Sikes & Kohn!!!

Currently, this place is only opened on Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 am to 4:30pm. So, please call them ahead of time for any further changes ( the number on the museum webpage, not the Google map one). I visited with my 7yr old daughter who read the biography about him which was the reason for this visit. 😁 It was very informative about this man, George Washington Carver, with biblical worldview digging in depth on all sorts of plants and crops, creating so many products from the God's creation. Such an honorable man!

I love museums and this is a very well done Museum. GW Carver's academic life was presented very well. My young son loved the museum and the displays. There were many exhibits that were educational for me and held my son's attention. The museum entrance is free. This was well worth the visit. It only took about and hour to go through and read nearly all the displays and information plaques.

We learned so much history here and they had 3 different Junior Ranger Badges and a Junior Ranger patch for their JR programs. The Park Ranger was very nice and informative. Very nice museum to visit. Very difficult to find. There are no signs for the museum or for parking or how to get a pass to get on campus. You have to be very persistent and ask a lot of questions to find the place.

For anyone coming to the museum, you have to come in the southwest side. You will then need to drive down to security the building to the left at the stop light then once you get your pass. At the stop light drive through the gates and drive down to hotel and park behind the building in the parking garage.

Moton Field Municipal Airport is a great place to take a break! It is usually a place of business where people learn to fly planes and skydive; however, it is surprisingly relaxing to see the open sky and the hear the sounds of the occasional plane fly over head. A place I have wanted to visit for some time and it did not disappoint. Overall, less than 2 hours. Would start with the 30 minute film to get an excellent overview (believe on the hour) and then return to hangar 1 to start the tour. This hangar focused on the nuts and bolts of the operation while hangar 2 addressed the accomplishments. In addition to the victory abroad, there was a great deal to learn about the victory at home - the Double V. Hangar 2 also housed a P-51 Mustang (red tail).

Very educational and a true honor to observe the exceptional service these military citizens provided for our country. It is a wonderful stop while on a road trip. Took me about an hour to complete everything. Very inspiring!

We really enjoyed our visit to the Tuskegee Airmen Museum. The layout was great and easy to follow and the exhibits were both educational and informative. National Park Service employees at the Museum were available, knowledgeable, and helpful. The Museum has a gift shop and plenty of parking.

I was down in the area visiting Family who is attending Auburn. I went to the airport to see the story area that I had read about. It was easy to find, but was very disappointed. It wasn’t open due to the federal shut down. I was able to walk around the grounds and read some of the placards, but it was a bummer not to go inside and see all of the displays. Don’t know when I’ll get back there, but hopefully it’ll be open next time.

Rather generic for a museum that covers some of the most heroic men and women in the history of the world. Not too many artifacts other than a few planes. Mostly walls of info which is fine I guess but personally I would like to see artifacts, no matter how small. Makes sure you go in mild weather, hangar one is 7x the temperature it is outside and hangar 2 is just cool enough to give you hope. Oh and don't get too close to the AC in the gift shop, it's forbidden 😂. Take my word for it... Go to this museum to support history but grab a pamphlet and sit in your car and read it if it's over 90° outside.

Loved visiting this place ! It was on my bucket list. 30 min film in hanger 2 defiantly worth it. Gift shop at end of hanger 2 very hard to find was closed for lunch so didn't get a magnet. Also if you can't walk that far drive down the hill and park. Also its free to see.

19th-century farmstead with old buildings & artifacts, including a steam train & horse-drawn jail.
Excellent place to visit if your knees, hips, back and legs are fine. Of course mine gave out early in the walk. Its like walking back in time. I just like looking at history and get a sense of what it was like as a pioneer. We have running water and indoor toilets for starters. We have washing machines and not scrub boards and a tub. Let's not forget we have hot water tanks providing that wonderful hot shower. I don't want to give it all away that you'll see and reminisce about. Just stop in and see for yourself. And if you are a babyboomer, med up first. Enjoy the walk!

We had a wonderful time at the Pioneer Musium of Alabama today. Loved all the folks teaching crafts and sharing history and true artifacts of Alabama! Great experience!

My husband and I decided to stop in and check the place out. For about 2 hours we wandered through the museum and the grounds exploring the abundance of historical memorabilia. The General Store was fascinating and the young man truly informative. It was worth the 10.00 admission.

We just happened to pass the Pioneer Museum in Troy, Ala. while traveling, and decided to check it out. We were very impressed with the sheer number of old items and the displays there. They were very interesting and in wonderful shape. The out-buildings surrounding the museum were wonderful as well and gave us a great idea of how people used to live. The employees of the museum are very personable and friendly! They answered questions in an unhurried manner and made our visit there very pleasant. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience!

The 4th of July celebration was amazing. Live music. Kids activities. A full program of history, story telling and ice cream. They really did an amazing job celebrating Independence Day.

We originally planned to visit all three museums in Troy but spent the entire morning at the Pioneer Museum. The museum was full of items from the Pioneer days, the Civil War, and even had a large selection of Native American exhibits. Some of the exhibitions were closed or under renovation. I loved the entire museum, and even my grandkids had a great time. It would have been nice to see the inside of the log cabins. Several had plexiglass viewing ports, but most had hasps and padlocks. Many of the log cabins were in poor condition and had wood rot and termite damage. The church roof eaves did not overhang far enough over the log walls; the chinking was improper and allowed water to damage the logs. It was unfortunate to see so many of the cabins needing repair. I would highly recommend Pioneer Museum for class field trips or family trips. We spent 3 hours here and did not even see everything.

Johnny Henderson Family Park is a lovely public green space that runs through Harrand Creek. The area boasts several amenities, including walking trails, picnic areas and restrooms. The playground is well-maintained, with plenty of features to keep children entertained for an extended period of time. There is also a disc golf course on site that adds some fun to the park. Although one hole may be challenging due to its steep slope next to the water, overall it's worth exploring.
Beautiful park to walk around, pond had lots of ducks to see. We didn't venture too far because it was cold, but seems like it would be a great place to spend some time exploring during warm weather.

Pristine park with wonderful walking trails, park benches, playgrounds, ponds, dog park, tennis courts, baseball fields, disc golf, and more. This is my favorite park in Alabama. We enjoyed a long walk on an early Friday morning. There were number of other walkers and joggers, but it was not too crowded.

I go here each morning for a walk and enjoy every second of it. The sun and shade ratio is unmatched. The people who walk (and run) there are friendly and respectful. It’s safe. Each lap is roughly 2,000 steps! Beautiful trees and scenery. It’s amazing. It is mostly busy around 7am-8am (sometimes 9am) but usually slows down between 11am and 1pm but picks back up towards the evening.

The walking trail is just over a mile long and the views are amazing. They have kiddie playgrounds for the toddlers and then a bigger playground for older children. They even have handicapped swings! Musical instruments to peak everyone's interest. The picnic pavilions all have charcoal grills so bring your family out and have a wonderful day!

The Southern Broadway Dinner Theater in Enterprise, Alabama offers a unique experience combining delicious food with entertaining performances. Despite initial reservations about the play and menu, visitors were pleasantly surprised by the excellent food and outstanding performances. The effort put into creating an enjoyable atmosphere was evident, making for an awesome and memorable evening.
Wonderful evening out with friends. We ate family style. Everything was wonderful. Staff was friendly, and everything was explained, so there were no surprises. We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of the dinner theater as well as the quick, efficient, friendly staff. Everyone was great, the play was cute but not what I expected and the food was just okay. For the price it was well worth it and the town of Enterprise, Alabama did a fantastic job of decorating for Christmas. I believe the theme must have been "The Grinch" We will return again one day.

I was told the Culinary Arts School trained chef/owner/set designer and builder, had passed away in 2020. Sadly, it is reflected in the quality of the experience we've had here over the past few years. It is hit and miss, but we all know it only takes one bad moment during your dinner to ruin a meal. Her absence is also noted in the quality of the sets. Again, here it seems hit and miss. Almost as if who ever is designing and building them runs out of time before the show must open. The main set for the Golden Monkey show, was terrible. I'm still trying to get my head around the 2 x 4 "french fries" and the pool float ring hamburger decorations in the Soda Shop show.
Daniel S — Google review
We had the best time last week at the Southern Broadway dinner show! The dinner was lobster bisque with cheddar bay biscuits, smoked turkey leg, potatoes, carrots and corn. Dessert was key lime pie! I was extremely impressed with the local talent. They were excellent actors and kept my attention throughout the play. I absolutely loved it and have already bought tickets for the July 2024 show!
Tonya D — Google review
I was shocked by how awesome this experience was. I went with a group of 7 other family members and we loved it. The food was wonderful as well as the Play. They had moments where the crowd was involved and we had a lot of fun watching the actors improvise with us. Professor Ballyhoo was the show we saw. This place is great for people with blindness as well. My two blind step brothers both love coming here and they enjoy every show and the food of course! It's easy for them both to follow along with the dialogue. I only have one thing to pitch for improvement. If they could find a way to do the meal during the show, that would be fantastic. To keep people focused on the show while eating, they would need a venue with all front faced seating. Pigeon Forge does this well with their dinner shows.. Maybe break a play into Acts and during each intermission, have the next course come out and top off drinks. Just some constructive criticism. Another way could possibly be to just speed up the breaks in between each course. Arrived 6:05, 6:35 Salad, 7:05 Entree Came, 7:20 Entree was finished, Dessert came around 7:40, 8:15 play started, 9:15 show ended. It was just a long night in a somewhat uncomfortable chair for me. Others may have zero issue. About an hour of meal time, 30-35 minute break, hour of showtime. We saw one group leave after the meal and come back before the show started, so I guess they knew what to expect and got a little intermission. Hopefully improvements come to this theater for years and this place becomes a staple of Enterprise. It truly was fantastic and fun for the whole family. For demographic info we had: M54, F51, M26, M22, M22, M20, F18, F16. We had a majority middle age and seniors in our show and would love to see people of all ages experience this form of entertainment!

Boll Weevil Monument

Monuments & Statues
The Boll Weevil Monument is a statue erected to honor the locals' resilience and adaptability in pivoting from cotton farming to peanut farming after being affected by pests. The monument stands as a symbol of perseverance and innovation. The statue holds great significance and draws tourists who come to witness its beauty and learn about the history behind it. It was unveiled during the Fall Festival on Main, which creates a lively atmosphere with numerous vendors selling their wares.
Fascinating to say the least, the monument stands in the middle of a four-way intersection! It's a beautiful statue, to remind you of something so small that could create such a large devastation.

We were passing through town on a road trip from Florida to North Alabama. Unfortunately we pulled into this area at 7:00 p.m. and all the shops were closed. There was absolutely nothing we could do so we took this one picture and headed out of town to our hotel. But during the few minutes that we were there we met a gentleman who told us the story of how when he was in high school the students would take turns stealing The boll weevil off of the statue as a prank. 🤣 Kids!
C C — Google review
I came for the statue, but stayed for the shops. Beautiful statue of a woman... holding a boll weevil... the statue is in the middle of an intersection, so take care getting photos. Plenty of parking available. Loads of cute shops within walking distance.
Alison W — Google review
Great stop! Downtown full of cute shops. We had fun.
Tamara W — Google review
It’s cool but it is in the middle of a busy intersection and not really safely accessible. It is pretty cool though and the story behind it is interesting. Nothing to go out of your way to see though.
Michael C — Google review
The town could have erected a statue of George Washington Carver, who developed peanut butter and made the peanut crop profitable after the boll weevil devastated the cotton crop, as stated in the narrative. But instead they built a statue of an insect. Do you think they chose not to erect a statute of George Washington Carver because he was an African American?
Galen B — Google review
This was a neat monument however, being in the middle of intersection made it a little difficult to enjoy closeup. Downtown Enterprise was very nifty! There's an eclectic mix of clothing, restaurants and specialty shops. Including a photography studio, Ballroom Dance class, Shopaholic, Simply South Boutique, You Nique Boutique, Daughter Dear Boutique pOpshelf, Corks & Cattle Restaurant, to man a few! They also have unique year round events!

We recently spent the weekend here at the park and it was a great experience. We rented one of the cabins. The cabin was a 2/1 but the sofa had a pullout bed. We didn’t get to hike the trail because I left my walking shoes hung on mistake but we did go fishing and the fish were biting. It was so nice to hear all the birds chirping and the wood peckers. I found it very peaceful. Then we went swimming in the spring, the water was chilly but they make you aware of that so you’re prepared. My 10 month old hates the beach but he loved the spring and I was shocked. I almost forgot that the day of check in we were running late and a camp employee called to let us know that they’ll leave everything we need at the front gate which I really appreciated because we were rushing trying to get there before the park closed but when she called and said she’ll Jace everything we need, it was a load off. We will visit again!!

* Please read to the end * The park is absolutely gorgeous. The springs are pristine, the fishing pond is gorgeous, there's no litter anywhere. Terrific playground for kids. We felt very safe here. All of this is why I give 5 stars. The downside - ▪️ The bathrooms are pretty gross. Especially the one at the playground by the springs. *see the last picture. I would not let my kids go in there. It gave me the creeps & looked like a dank prison shower. If we used the restroom closer to the campgrounds, we took Clorox wipes to wipe the seats off with. The entire weekend we were there, the same trash was in the floors. It did not ever give the look of being cleaned in any way. ▪️ Pull through camper site #6 - prepare to jack your camper up big time to get level. Also prepare to be confused on where exactly you should pull through at because these sites are barely marked. There's no gravel or sand to make you think you should pull in a certain spot. It is grass only. To get level we actually had to pull in the 🔻do not enter 🔻direction & face our camper door towards the cabins instead of the woods. ▪️If we return here for recreation, I will likely look for a Hipcamp location to camp at & enjoy the springs as a "guest" not as a camper.
Ginger D — Google review
This beautiful park is very small but enjoyable. There are two swimming pools that are from the natural springs. The campground is beautiful and very clean. The river that the spring empties into is beautiful also. The family can also play in the creek. There is a two mile trail you can hike but it has some steep hills if you have walking issues. The people working there are very nice and helpful. Overall this is a small park but lovely.

Everything was amazing. I would recommend you make sure you like COLD water. I am from Minnesota and it was too cold for me even. Not much else to do besides trails and stuff which are incredible. Had one issue with our water spigot and I called and no one has called me back and theres no after hour lines from when it happened. The staff are friendly and everything is very clean and decent compared to other places I've seen.

Absolutely wonderful. If you are looking for a quiet place to get away but don't really care to do anything but rest. This is the place. The natural spring swimming hole is cold but refreshing and that park is simple and quiet.

Such a friendly staff. No issues reserving a spot. Camping areas and amenities were nice. But the best part are the crystal clear showing pools.

The park is very nice. The springs were cool and the people there were friendly. I would visit again. It is a family friendly place and pets can visit
Jessica S — Google review
They keep this park very clean for the amount of people using it. The cool water is great for hot summer days. This is an awesome place to bring young or older children, the young ones can play in the shallower water or in the creek run off and the older kids can swim in the deep end and explore the creek. There is also a connecting tunnel from the deep side to the shallow side that the kids love to play in and slide through. There is a volleyball court and a playground but I would say use them more in the morning or evening bc they tend to be hot in the summer. There are table for public use and barbecue grills. There is decent shade but it gets taken fairly quickly on a busy day. Happy swimming and thank you for having us.

This is an awesome place to visit if you can. It's amazing

This place is absolutely amazing. I have been to this museum twice since 1995 and it’s truly a hidden gem. Located on base, it will require base access, but definitely worth stopping by and seeing the facility and aircraft. A few one off prototypes and even some historical birds present and on display. The R66 Comanche helicopter and super 68 helicopters are located here as well and can be viewed! Again can’t recommend enough and anyone visiting the Gulf Coast who is interested in air power and helicopters should definitely take the time to swing by and see what all is here to offer!

Great enjoyable history here! Came with my 10 year old sister and she loved it as well. Much more stuff than what’s in the pictures and has a very nice gift shop. It’s on base though so make sure you get a visitors pass(free) located at the visitor center near the base entrance

Free to enter with pass for base. Outside area is great for pictures, and so is the inside. Gidtshop and clean facilities. Elevator access makes seeing all parts of the museum possible, I went when I was still on crutches. Probably one of the best things to do in the area, can get kinda busy on Saturdays

This museum has been so special to me since childhood and remains so today. The people at the desk are always friendly, the museum is easy to navigate, and it has such great displays and information. I used to beg my father to bring me every weekend and now as an adult I love to bring my own child.

Incredible exhibits chronicle aircraft and people from the birth of aviation through the present day. Many unique fixed and rotor wing aircraft in interactive and static displays. Many stories of heroes from all wars that Aviation played a role in. Exhibits both indoors and out. Plan for 3 or more hours. Easy access and several restaurants right on base.

From the Wright Brothers to today's drones, this collection has them and everything in between. A very well curated and fascinating look into where Army Aviation has been, where it is now and where it will be tomorrow. There is a well stocked gift shop inside the museum. Definitely worth the visit!

Upon my initial visit to 'Antique Attic', I was greatly impressed by the extensive selection they offered. Undoubtedly, this establishment boasts one of the largest collections of antique items in the vicinity, spanning multiple structures within its premises. It serves as an exceptional destination for those seeking distinctive and intricately crafted furnishings. Given the abundance of treasures awaiting exploration, it is advisable to allocate a considerable amount of time for your visit. The experience is truly worthwhile and highly recommended.
The most eclectic and interesting collection of real antiques I've ever seen in one location. Wonderful customer service from Ms. Wanda with my purchase. Will return to add to my collection. Thank you for taking time to help me Ms. Wanda.

Excellent place to shop for unique furnishings with exquisite detail. Plan on being there awhile. So much to see. Well worth visiting. Rating a 4 for pricing. Ms. Wanda was a big help. Very knowledge of inventory. If you have never visited, I would recommend.

I am a fan of French Empire antiques and usually these can only be located in NYC, Philadelphia, Miami, New Orleans and LA. I was delighted to find true gems at the Antique Attic in Dothan, AL. They have a broad variety of fine antiques. I found them online and when I called to inquire about 2 pieces of furniture, Warren was a delight to work with. He arranged for a shipper since I Live in Georgia and kept me apprised of all the details. I am very pleased with my new pieces of furniture. They look better in person than they did online. I think their pricing cannot be beat. I will be a repeat customer. What a great find!

I took a coffee table to antique attic to sell. The guy told me a price of $250 and that if I wanted to check other places for a better price I could and that I could bring it back and as long as I brought it back in the same condition he would purchase it. I couldn't find anywhere else in dothan that buys antique so I had my sister in law take it back just a couple days later and the guy told her he would only pay $200 since it had to be brought back. It didn't cost him any time or money for it to be brought back he only took advantage of the situation bc it was a female bringing it back. I will not do future business here or recommend anybody to do business here as far as selling them anything.

My almost adult children enjoyed only two go-kart rides before wanting to leave. The very tall gentleman at the counter was very pleasant. I'm happy we stopped by. He chatted about where we to visit while at Panama Beach --- Thank you!!!

The pavilion that was recently built was awesome for parties. Our hostess ,Kennedy was great. She made the party flow seamlessly . She was really great with kids. Very happy with our experience . Love all the updates being done! Kids can't wait to go back!

My husband and I came for a quick, fun outing — just the two of us — and had a blast being big kids for a while. For only $20, we got one round of bumper boats, mini golf, go-karts, and 20 arcade tokens. We also paid an extra $8 for five batting cage tokens, with each one giving 20 pitches. Overall, it was a fun little spot to pop in and enjoy some lighthearted competition. Just a heads-up, bring bug spray! The bugs were no joke. 😩 Only downside was the arcade. The games went by really fast and barely gave out any tickets, which made that part feel a little underwhelming. Still, for the price? Totally worth it. We’d definitely go again, and next time, we’ll probably bring the kids along too.

My wife and I stopped here today after lunch and played a round of mini golf. It was a lot of fun for $20. The course is laid out nicely. Some shade to sit in if you had a wait between holes. Cool scenery to check out.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had our son’s birthday party at Adventureland yesterday, and it was absolutely wonderful! It was such a relief to only have to show up with the cake because everything else was taken care of. The new outdoor pavilions are SO nice!! Chloe was our party host and she did an amazing job. We had 7 rowdy boys and she remained cool calm and collected and had fun with them! Brooke stayed in touch from the time I booked until the day of the party and made sure every detail was perfect. When we had a little technical trouble on our end with payment, Fran was so helpful in getting it figured out. Every single person we interacted with was kind, respectful, and professional. I definitely recommend Adventureland for hosting a party or just spending time playing the park. It is so much fun! 🎉

Adventureland Theme Park in Dothan is a great spot for families, just a street off the main strip with lots of parking and plenty to do. We enjoyed the arcade and bumper boats, and there’s even more to explore like mini golf, batting cages, bumper cars, and more. We’d rate our experience 4 out of 5 stars. The pricing is fair, with a variety of daily deals that make it easy to enjoy on a budget. Most of the arcade games are claw or coin fall machines, which are perfect for older kids, though there’s a bit less available for younger ones. One thing that could be improved: Everything is loaded onto a game card, which wasn’t clearly explained. It was easy enough to figure out, but a quick heads-up from staff would really help new guests avoid confusion. Staff were generally friendly, but they tended to gather and chat in one area, which led to a few guests waiting for assistance. A simple pause in conversation to help guests would really elevate the customer experience. Also, a posted map of the park near the entrance or counter would be a great addition to help visitors navigate without having to ask lots of questions. All in all, it’s a fun and affordable place to spend the day, and we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!

Can say enough. Literally the easiest party I’ve ever thrown and my oldest is 18. The host stays with you from beginning to end to help with the kids that was a life saver .. they cleaned up the room while we played golf and just had to come in and collect our items. So much fun

Water World in Westgate Park is a perfect place to beat the heat in Dothan, Alabama. The park offers a variety of attractions for visitors of all ages. Tadpole Hole provides kid-friendly water activities, while older kids and adults can enjoy the Rip Tide Wave Pool with its impressive 3-foot waves. In addition to the wave pool, there are slides, an arcade, and a lazy river for relaxation. The park also features refurbished bathrooms and picnic facilities for added convenience.
What a great place, the lines were pretty short. Coolers are allowed which is a huge plus. We didn't have to pay 10.00 for a bottle of water. 5 slides, one uses tubes "great white." It's fun. Nothing too violent for kids. The wave pool was nice as long as dumb people didn't try to drown one another in it taking the attention from the life guards for children that might need their attention. Closed the rides when lighting was in the area but as soon as it was gone they were all back open very fast. Most of the stuff was great. Just like everywhere there were a few that hate their job but what place doesn't have that. They should give the life guards the power to put some of these kids in time out or something, parents no where in sight while their kids do as they please, wait their parents were probably the ones trying to drown one another in the pool... 🤣

My son wanted to go to water world for his 11th birthday on Sunday. We (myself, my friend and two sons) went today since weather has been unpredictable. I wanted to give a shout out to all the amazing LIFEGUARDS today!!! We got to the park early and it was very calm. Not too many people and lots of space for swimming and talking. Within the last couple hours of being there I watched several lifeguards dive in a save several unsupervised kids. On many different occasions the wave pool was stopped due to unsupervised children panicking and barely able to keep their heads above water. Your lifeguards never missed a beat! We left shortly after 3. Very busy at that time and a little chaotic. Would give 5 stars but food was not that good, I believe they were having issues with the oven but found that out after I paid $40 for a pizza and cinnamon wheel. Staff for food were very friendly and apologetic.

Overall had a very good experience. The lines for the various slides, we're fairly short. The park attendees, we're very pleasant to deal with the food was full. Good prices were good. Entry fee was very reasonable. Only complaint that I have where there were several locker stations that were out of service.

We have gone to this water park twice and had a great time both days. Coming in the morning (10) to around 1 it is a lot less crowded. The child area has a multitude of activities for children of all ages. The water slides are thrilling. The lifeguards are amazing, very well trained and constantly vigilant. The food prices aren’t terrible, but we did bring a cooler. You are allowed to being outside food and drinks, as well as chairs. We rented a cabana ($75 dollars for the “basic” one as pictured) but there are plenty of lounge chairs in all the different areas. Overall great place.

I was there with my daughter and grandkids and had a wonderful time. I did lose a gold toe ring that’s black onyx. It has looks like a pair of sunglasses that I wish somebody would’ve turned in. They was. It was my mother‘s toe ring, but we had a good time if anybody reports it or does know anything about it please contact me.

Gotta love a city owned water park. Free parking, allowed to bring in food and drinks, entry fee is reasonable, and a great place for the family. The concession stand has easy to make food and it arrives fast basic theme park options on the menu. We always rent a cabana since added to the park. Definitely worth the price and bit of privacy pool side. Great place to relax in town on the weekends during the summer. If visiting definitely a place to visit while here get out together and have some fun in the sun and water. Wonderful water rides have been added to enhance the fun or scare the heck out of your hubby who thinks rides are still for him god bless him for trying to hang with our kids who most definitely on the rides every time we go. We always enjoy ourselves and continue to go and support this wonderful city owned attraction. More cities should take a page out of this book it's better to let the city own then outsiders any day hence the no parking fee, allowed to bring food, and reasonable prices. Citizens support it and are excited to continue to use this wonderful source of family fun right here in Dothan.
