Our first visit here was such a pleasant experience! The grounds and views are spectacular! We had nice conversations with the owners and enjoyed learning about their wines. Their ice wines were absolutely incredible! I’m not a fan of sweet wines because of the added sugar, however, ice wine has no added sugar and is a delicious treat for your tastebuds! I literally wanted to lick my glass clean! Their champagnes were amazing! I also loved their red wines and Chardonnay (which I’m not a huge fan of!) I did notice the pours were a bit on the smaller side, but it was a tasting of at least 8 wines, which is typically more than most wineries I’ve visited. We can’t wait to return here with friends! The only downside was there were not tables or chairs to sit at and enjoy the scenery. We did sit on their stone wall for a bit, but it would’ve been tough to enjoy a snack with our wine.

Everything we tasted (and we covered a lot of bases) was delightful. The wine was smooth and rich in flavor. The notes on each different variety were clear and strong. We were traveling from out of state, but we bought four bottles of wine and made it work to bring the entire collection home in our luggage. We went to great lengths to bring this home, and I'm so glad we did. The vintners talked to us about their art and craft and we were amazed to learn that the two of them do most of the work at the vineyard. They're delightful people with warm hearts and amazing wine. The ice wines are what sealed the deal for us, though each wine (and the champagne) was amazing and we only purchased one ice wine among our selection. I've never tasted such unique and beautiful flavors in ice wine. It wasn't overly sweet. Just right. I think the thing we liked most was how balanced all of the flavors were. Incredible1

I REALLY wanted to like J Maki but was sorely disappointed. This winery is so deceiving. We went in and were told that we were expected to buy a bottle if we were going to have a tasting. Ok, no big deal- but then, we started tasting the wines. They really weren’t anything special, and we were poured about a tablespoon of each wine. I’m not a wine connoisseur but I’ve personally had much better at much cheaper rates. I really liked the ice wines, but at $75 a bottle I was a bit skeptical. We were under the impression that we were “expected to buy a bottle” like we were told at the beginning. While the owner was grabbing another bottle we noticed the fine print “ if you do not buy a bottle, each person is to be charged $30, YES $30, for a tasting. I have never been anywhere that charged more than $15. The cheapest bottle of wine is $36. The owner was very informative but not super friendly, it also felt very rushed. My mother and I ended up spending almost $80 on 2 freaking bottles of wine. We were absolutely appalled by the prices after tasting the quality. We were very frustrated and a little in shock at what we spent and received. In my opinion, I would tell anyone and everyone to go somewhere else.
Lauren B — Google review
This is NOT a wine consumer stop. J Maki wine is for those who appreciate the art and have discriminating taste. The wine is dry, crafted to be sipped and each drop appreciated. The ice wine is sweet and enticing. Having crafted my own cheese, I understand how the effort calls for appreciation and not consumption. Each wine had character and full flavor. Each was unique from the other. I agree with others who wrote that the other reviews were unfair. You do not stop at this winery as a "pit-stop" wine taster. No. You stop if you seek an experience in fine wine. As for the $30 price for tasting, if you buy a bottle of wine, there's no charge. If you wine taste elsewhere, you may pay $12 for the tasting and another $15 for the wine. If you do the math, it's the same deal. But the $30 price draws the type of people who appreciate what they are about to experience. A bottle of any of these wines would make for a very lovely gift. As for the initial impression--My daughter, her boyfriend, and I stopped in and we were all a bit uncertain if we should stay. We felt like we were under suspicion. Go if you are the type to drink an entire bottle before dinner. Stay if you feel worthy of this wine. I am happy we stayed.
Nancy L — Google review
We had the same experience as the others. To a T! Even the questions smuggly answered, 'Ice wine grapes are never frozen on the vine', told to a person in my party inquiring. This places almost makes me wonder what they're hiding? He told us their wine is so good, they don't have to "give tastings for free. $30/per person and/or you have to buy a bottle." If you don't want people to taste, then why advertise "Tastings"?. They really go out of their way to showcase their awards on their website; as well as having a "Press Release " tab featuring their very unimpressive advertising. In my humble opinion, because I am a graphic designer, in advertising & I live in NYC. I grew up riding my bike in French Creek State Park as a kid in the 80's and I always recommend the area for a visit by friends leaving the city. I will NEVER recommend this place. Nor do I advise tasting the wine. I did not taste, but the glass handed to someone to taste, was a full pour of vinegar. I just wanted to warn others... if you see a tall pour, no doubt the wine is spoiled.
Kristine S — Google review
It probably has to do with the fact that I live in the NYC area where "disgruntled" is a synonym for "charming" but I enjoyed my visit to the winery. Yes, the charge for a tasting is $30 or the purchase of a bottle, the cheapest of which is you guessed it $30. This is pretty much the most expensive I've seen for a tasting at any of the 20+ vineyards I've been to, but they do state the policy clearly up front, and you can take it or leave it. I suggest you leave it unless you are really into wine and like people who are what my mother would call "characters." I do, so I stayed. Jim was the one doing the tasting and he struck me as someone who is, yes, a bit of an eccentric control freak about his wine, but also hard working (he said he and his wife have one staffer but otherwise do everything themselves, from the landscaping to the winemaking ,bottle labeling, etc.). He definitely believes in making dry wine that is going to appeal to the type of wine drinker who pairs their wine carefully with food - not as much a casual drinker who wants a simple, fresh, affordable wine. Once we got talking about food pairings (i.e., wine 302) all of a sudden the tasting menu went from like 8 wines to 10 to 12 and the pours kept coming - modest yes but he clearly wanted us to experience and appreciate his product. A few minutes in we were laughing and trading stories of his time living and working in NYC and it was overall a pleasant visit. An expensive pleasant visit but definitely an adventure. It is a shame they don't attempt to make their winery more accessible to those other than the seasoned wine drinker willing to look past the initial gruffness, but it strikes me that they love wine and what they do, but feel that most people don't appreciate or respect it quite to the level they do and take our their frustrations unfairly on their visitors. It's a shame because they seem like passionate people who love their craft but don't have the patience or personality for the hospitality/customer service aspect of the business.
Colleen M — Google review
If you like paying $29 or more ($51.35 average, not counting the $2,500.00 Champagne) for a bottle of wine - and to make them more elite, some of those bottles are only 375ml, then this is the place for you! Actually, $29 is what is listed on their website; I don't recall seeing anything less than $37 on the tasting list. After completing our tastings, we were going to purchase a bottle, but were told that we were obligated to purchase two bottles. I can't believe that I paid $80 for two 375 ml bottles of what is far from the best tasting wines that I've had. I've been to more than a dozen other wineries in the past two months and enjoyed all of them more than this one. We agreed that we will never come back here again...
Joe E — Google review
The property is a beautiful stone farm house on a picturesque rolling hillside. Every other aspect of this winery is deplorable. The tasting room personnel were openly rude, racist, and amazing ill informed about the wine world. Starting with a critique of the vehicle I arrived in ( a 9 month old Chevy truck) the staff member demanded to know why i was in the area and made rude comments about my answer. When we finally got the wines i was told i had to buy or leave. Being a wine fan i sampled the wines despite the rudeness. The reds, my favorite, were pail in color, lacked complexity, and had strong tannin's. The mouth textures ranged non existent to an outright assault on the senses. Not one of the them could be described as smooth. Some were on the boarder of undrinkable. The personnel then, in what was clearly supposed to be an attempt at worldly wise insight, mentioned how well these wines would pair with ethnic foods suited to people like us. The the best of the whites were a slight better than the reds. I thought most could be used as rubbing alcohol or paint remover. However, with an obligation to buy having sampled we settled on a Gewürztraminer that if cold enough might be drinkable. The final shock was the wine prices, these were all wine that should sell for $6.99 at the supermarket, but they were all well above the $20 a bottle. I frequently pay 20-30 even 60 for a good bottle of wine. These wines are not worth tasting and the winery isn't worth a visit. With that said if you wanted to go video some incredibly bad behavior for a reality TV show, this is the place, the wines and people are so bad you will think its a put on.

We usually go to another orchard but my ²0 year old, mom and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit and this will be our new go to The hayride was beautiful, funnel cake was delicious and we enjoyed seeing the animals. Staff was extremely helpful with mobility getting my son on and off of the hayride in his wheelchair. It was truly a wonderful day

We live coming here to pick apples and shop the fresh produce in the market. They also have some bad ass apple cider doughnuts they r BUSSIN ! This market has some really good produce like I mean it’s gas ! That means it’s good ! Definitely recommend doing the hayride out to the apple field because it is a long walk. Come and check this place out if ur in the area

Milburn Orchards is one of the nation’s top rated orchards. They have great activities for the kids. Their store of fresh produce, meats, baked goods, cider, sauces, and swag is one of our weekly shopping spots. They are open early spring through Christmas I believe. We have purchased holiday deserts for them so we did not have to baked and they were so good. Their fall festival has horse rides, hay rides, face painting, assorted foods, and farm animals. The kids will love it. I highly recommend Milburn Orchards to all.

Milburn Orchards is truly my family’s happy place! We have hosted 2 birthday parties in their big backyard and both were a big hit/ easy to organize. We love getting a season pass to hang out in the big backyard! HIGHLY recommend for all seasons that they’re open- you can host a party off season and have the whole big backyard to yourselves!
Julie G — Google review
A little pricey to get in, but lots of fun stuff once inside! Maize maze, petting zoo, kid games, and spots to chill. Food, drink, and market goods all cost extra once you pay to get in.
Kathryn L — Google review
Had my son 1st birthday party yesterday (7/13) and it was amazing. The pavilion was clean and spacious! Rebecca and Mrs Mary made sure everything went well, they even helped us set up and check on us periodically to make sure we were okay. Every staff we encountered with was polite and helpful. Thank you Milburn Orchards for a wonderful time 🥰
Kamiesha G — Google review
High quality fruit of all kinds. Had lunch on the deck ( which could use some fans- I asked to have it turned on but they never did) the peach/prosciutto pizza was amazing as were the cool peach drinks
Amy H — Google review
Went apple picking and visited the Fall Festival with my partner and a couple friends and their toddler. The Fall Festival was very family-friendly with many activities included in the price. Just know that several popular attractions (like pony rides) cost extra. Apple picking was you-pick with two varieties still there at the end of the season when we went: the orchard's own Sweet Zoes and Granny Smith apples. Both were amazing! We parked and rode a tractor over to the orchards then walked the rows. Even at the very end of the season that's were a decent amount to pick from and we filled about three bags between us all. Food on premises was a step about fair food but the apple cider donuts and a gallon of apple cider to take home were a MUST BUY. They're absolutely fantastic and worth the trip just by themselves!

I had my wedding here September of 2023 and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day! All communication leading up to our wedding was very clear, they were always quick to answer any questions we had and so kind to us through the whole process. We still get compliments on how fun our wedding was and how beautiful the the whole property is! Thank you MH for making our special day the best day ever and special thank you to our day of coordinator Mary for going above and beyond.

My husband and i got married at Mount Harmon in October, We feel we had the wedding of our dreams! Everything couldn’t have been more perfect for us. Having the ceremony in the gardens really makes it feel so much more special. Becca was our wedding coordinator and she continued to go above and beyond for us!! The whole staff at the plantation is incredible, They make you feel like family. It was their first time doing this but we also had a colonial lady serving cider & cookies at cocktail hour.. our guests loved it!

September 2024 Beautiful, well-preserved 18th century plantation with spectacular views of the river and the vast acres of fields and woodland. The interior and exterior of the various buildings are in phenomenal condition, and the tour guides and reenactors were very engaging and informative with their thorough discussions about the history of the plantation and its owners, occupants, and visitors over the years. Word of caution with the entrance, as it’s a couple miles of a one-way gravel road with little room for cars to pass, so that made it rather interesting on our drive up to the plantation.
David S — Google review
Cool place to visit. The tour guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. Beautifully restored home. The furniture is amazing. How about this bathroom!

Found this place over a year ago on Google. I'm into history and I had to see it for myself. It looks larger in the photos but still a very nice place . The grounds are beautiful and they overlook the water 😊it's so quiet coming from Philadelphia I look forward to times like this . The house itself is very cool the furniture is unique.....The view from the top is beautiful if your into history or just enjoy getting away from it all spend a day here.😎 Staff/guide was very nice and informative. Heads up the ladelaying to get to the house. Itself is almost 2 miles long It's dusty and narrow. And some people might find it creepy

It’s a 18th century Georgian Plantation that sits on a road that you travel One Mile to see! The Manor House sits high on a hill surrounded by creeks and rivers. A beautiful place to have a wedding. You can bring your horses to travel the trails or come by boat to tour the Manor home. There are special events that you can be involved in. We had a guided tour of the home. There are steps to use so wear sturdy shoes. Bring your own food unless for a wedding. You can drive over the Plantation. There are several out buildings to see. Look closely you may see deer walking the fields! You will be close to Chestertown, MD and Chesapeake City. Chestertown has Washington College, boating, shopping, restaurants, and B&B’s, motel. Chesapeake City has boating, restaurants, shopping, and B&B’s.

We had a great time. It was 90 degrees and they were in full uniform. Very hot day for them. We saw them get paid and barter for their supplies. The ranks that had very little to eat..to the higher ranks that had a good full lunch. Very impressed. They answered my autistic grandsons questions. My questions also were answered. I never liked history when I was in school but since my grandson has been studying it in school I love it and i had alot of questions. Very good time everyone was polite and knowledgeable. I will definitely come back again.

Shopping mall
Shopping
King of Prussia is a top-notch destination for those seeking an unparalleled shopping experience. The King of Prussia Mall, the largest mall on the East Coast, boasts over 400 stores featuring luxury brands and popular retailers. Beyond shopping, visitors can enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and biking trails, picturesque parks, and golf courses. Additionally, nearby attractions like the Valley Forge National Historical Park and Elmwood Park Zoo offer historical insights and wildlife encounters.
This is one of the best mall I have visited so far with lots of shopping opportunities. A large number of Brands available. There are so many food options outside the mall as well. Inside the mall there is a nice food court with a good number of fastfood options. You will find major brands like Macys, It is located about 25 miles northwest of Philadelphia. It is the largest shopping mall on the East Coast and one of the most iconic malls in the nation. The mall features over 450 retailers, including luxury brands like Nordstrom, Macy's, Neiman Marcus, and Bloomingdale's. It is open from 10 AM to 9 PM on weekdays and Saturdays, and from 11 AM to 6 PM on Sundays. Public transit options include SEPTA buses 92, 99, 123, 124, 125, and 139, which stop near the mall. The mall is easily accessible via major highways such as Routes 202, 76, 422, and the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
Nandu M — Google review
Probably one of the most frequented malls in this area! Gigantic! All kinds of high end stores as well as regular stores. Usually crowded on weekends! Christmas holiday can be a nightmare as far as crowds but you can get great deals! Parking is always challenging here. You can find parking but sometimes it’s a headache! Different restaurants scattered throughout. Always as great place to hangout at especially if it’s hot out! Nice and cool! Clean!
Thomas C — Google review
King of Prussia Mall Review The King of Prussia Mall is massive and has just about every store you could think of—from luxury brands to everyday favorites. It’s clean, well-organized, and easy to spend hours exploring. There are plenty of dining options, so it’s more than just a shopping trip—it feels like a full day experience. Parking can get a little hectic during peak times, but overall the atmosphere is lively, and it’s a great place to shop, browse, and hang out.
Miss T — Google review
The largest mall in the Philly metro area with the best offerings in all of retail. Designer and luxury brands have set up shop here. Great eat out options. The best place to shop in all of PA. Plenty of parking. Very close to highways
Gautham V — Google review
The mall is great! It’s beautiful (unlike most malls in the country), has a great variety of stores, is spacious, and has plenty of natural light. However, for one of the largest malls in the country, the lack of signage is a serious issue that needs urgent improvement. There were barely any signs indicating where the stores, restrooms, or exits were. I could only find the restrooms when I was already right next to them, and I had to walk around in circles multiple times just to find specific stores. It also took me quite a while to locate an exit when I was ready to leave. For such a large and well-known shopping center, better internal signage should definitely be a priority.
Larissa R — Google review
Best mall around. No empty stores. Clean. Safe. So many stores in every price level. If you can’t find things here, you’re simply walking around with your eyes closed. Positively love this mall- we come here as often as we can being an hour and a half away. Hopefully Mall death never hits this place.
Sherry J — Google review
This mall is awesome, if you plan on coming here if your not from this area I'd recommend you get here early because this mall is huge. High end rich folk stores on the top floor and the regular folk stores are on the mid and lower floors. They have everything you want here and my legs are still hurting from all that walking. Parking is free which is great
C N — Google review
My partner and I shot down to the KOP mall to meet a friend and we spent a couple hours walking around. Absolutely didn't hit every store we wanted to, so we will be going back! Absolutely need some money before you head here, but most purchases are worth it!

Best place for a weekend escape relax your mind in the nature I love cycling there in my bike around the lake they have good trail for hiking/bike riding. Clean environment with good toilet facilities/vending machines for sodas/water . They also have boat available for rents . A perfect place for family picnics

Nice state park... plenty to do, like kayaking, fishing, hiking , playground for the kids to play on. Basketball courts and modern rest rooms. Plenty of wildlife to see on and off the water. The rangers and staff are very polite.... only gave 4stars because we didn't camp there yet !

Very big lank in the park is main attraction. Then trail around the lake nearly 6.4 miles. Inside forest loop also available. Very good place for nature lovers.
Manikandan N — Google review
Beautiful park. We did the whole loop around the pond, which we consider more of a lake, little hilly but very doable about 3.5 hours for us. Had our big water bottles and took note of bathrooms and port a pottys as we went. Next time bringing our kayak. Looked at camping sites and they looked very nice as well.
Anne L — Google review
The sites are a good size with some lovely trees for privacy. There is plenty to do with multiple bike trails, hiking, paddle boats. A zip line and a nature center. We would look forward to coming back to Lums if we were in the area.
Mary H — Google review
The reviews don’t exaggerate this park, the sites are spacious, paved, and partially shaded. They are FHU, but the utility placement varies and I finally got to use my 50amp extension cord. Lums Pond has several trails surrounding the “Pond - It looks like a lake to me” We enjoyed Delaware City and Chesapeake City which are connected by the C&D canal, and the adjacent bike path. Schaefer’s Canal House in Chesapeake City is excellent with a wide variety and large portions.

Just an absolute wonderful park with a wonderful view of the pond from the new cabin area that we are building. If you like camping, this is definitely a great place to visit.

Located on a riverfront site, Hagley Museum is a historical gem showcasing the regional industrial history, including gunpowder mills and the du Pont home. The museum and library are situated on a vast 200-acre campus with preserved historic buildings and picturesque views of Brandywine Creek. Visitors can explore the original du Pont gunpowder factory and view thousands of patent models.
I really enjoyed the tours and demonstrations the gunpowder demo and machinists workshop were pretty darn cool. The grounds and gardens were lovely. The house was beautiful too. I enjoyed the office area and the old car exhibit as well. I may go back yo see more of the invention area. I thought it was a cool way to spend an afternoon

A must if you’re in the area! Absolutely a gem of a property! This is so much more than just the Hagley residence. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and kept in great condition! Live demos along the pathway and a shuttle that takes you to the home. I visited on a holiday just as they opened and didn’t have to wait very long for anything! All of the tour guides were very knowledgeable, tons to do and see pending on how much time you have. Add this to your DuPont home tours 🤍

Wow! Just terrific place. I had no idea what to expect, and unfortunately did come early enough to explore the second floor. The vibrancy, colors, layout and lighting make this place eye candy. It's such an appealing way for adults and children to learn about innovation, invention and patents with real patent models. Highly recommend. Come learn about improving the mousetrap, toilet, hairbrush and everything else. It's obvious that lots of money, time and thought is invested to make this place inviting for everyone.
Tax P — Google review
We didn't expect to spend as much time as we did, and wish we had spent more time than we did. The initial display of inventions set the stage for the DuPont story. That, and an entrepreneurial spirit were on display at this museum. The tour of the mansion was informative and demonstrated house remodeling is not new. The cars and carriages were nice for a small collection. My favorite part of the "museum" was the demonstration of water turbine driven metal working equipment. I also liked the models of the making of gun powder, and the demonstration of how gun powder was tested for quality. I highly recommend this museum that is located in a beautiful setting.

Great place to visit. Came around 3pm, only the two of us on the shuttle to the Du Pont house. The tour guides are wonderful and even the shuttle driver was great, gave us very informative introduction to the historic site. People who work here to really care about the history and the legacy of the Du Pont family. Can’t wait to come back here again!

Zoos & Aquariums
Elmwood Park Zoo, located in the heart of Norristown, offers a delightful experience for visitors. The zoo features the popular Wild Lights display, where millions of lights illuminate the 16-acre park. Guests can explore various installations such as Snowflake Central and Rainbow Runway while enjoying live music and meeting characters. The zoo also boasts a new welcome center and vet clinic, providing an intimate setting to learn about animals from enthusiastic zookeepers.
Great LITTLE ZOO. PS. I've been to smaller ones as well. The rest rooms are super clean, staff is very friendly, fast food fare and ice cream in the zoo, also a beer garden in the zoo. Misters in several locations to cool off, petting zoo (goats) closes at 4:30pm not 5pm like the rest of the zoo. A really nice playground and music station where kids and adults can show off their talents on the musical elements. The beer garden sits in front of a stream, which also contains many shaded areas to sit and watch the stream, for added peace and quiet. I paid 53.00 for me and my granddaughter. Those 65 and older will get a few more dollars off. I ordered tickets in my car in the parking lot and they scanned the barcode through the emailed tickets. If you order at the door, it's an extra 1.00 per person. It was a beautiful day at the zoo. The giraffe feeding is timed, so plan accordingly if you want to feed them for an additional fee. There's a shuttle that picks you up from the parking lot and drops off at the entrance if you can't walk far.

A great zoo in Montgomery County. Good place to visit for families with young kids. Good place for field trips from schools or a weekend visits. They have Giraffe feeding and petting zoo as well. Very well maintained. They also have a few food joints. Ample parking. Kids will have lots of fun. Gift shop is awesome.

🦌 The Elmwood Park Zoo is a smaller zoo but it has been working hard to improve by remodeling and expanding. In 2024, it celebrated its 100th year anniversary and opened a Welcome Center and Veterinary Health Center. I had the pleasure of attending the official unveiling of their new Sculpture Fountain featuring a buck, doe and fawn sculpture. A bronze jaguar will be added in the upcoming year. The sculpture fountain serves as a centerpiece to the Welcome Center and honors their initial days when it provided a home to just three deer. The zoo has grown so much over the years and now hosts a diverse collection of animals, including giraffes, zebras, jaguars, red pandas, and tamarins. You can also see bison, elk, ferrets, and plenty of farm animals. Their animal houses are home to species like eagles, owls, American alligators, desert tortoise, and boa constrictors. The amphibian house features endangered species like the Panamanian golden frog. I was very impressed by the zoo's innovative improvements, including the enhanced parking and increased accessibility for all visitors. The new Veterinary Health Center is a highlight; visitors can watch through large observation windows as animals receive top-notch care. This zoo is incredibly welcoming, with lots of fun play areas for kids and even special 'Dog Days' that allow your canine companions to join in on the fun. It's truly a great place for family and friends to visit!

My 5 year old son had a blast at this place and there was so much to do that we were there from when they opened until when they closed. Feeding the giraffes I would say was his favorite thing to do and they even have a red panda also. My son really enjoyed the playgrounds as well, all around it was a great experience and a great place to take children too. They also house the Philadelphia Eagles ambassador Eagles and they are truly amazing animals!!!

Hi All. This is only my 3rd time here in about 15yrs total. It has slowly improved over the years, which is always great to see. Some animals have been moved or are just not at the zoo anymore. No matter what, its always a good time had by all. This zoo is best for kids 12 and under, in my opinion.

Dog days at the zoo ! My boys were very curious about the animals at the zoo and vice versa. The zoo is small but very well maintained. We didn't get to see everything since there are areas that dogs are not permitted. There was live music and plenty of playground areas for kids to exhaust themselves in. Zoo brew ! 👍🏻 Overall a great experience. The boys approved of the trip and can't wait to do it again.

Lived in PA for years and never knew about this place, I saw the $15 admission price online and I figured it was worth a shot to take the family and we were pleasantly surprised. The initial building where you enter is very new/modern looking and clean and the rest of the zoo is very clean as well. Great selection of animals to see and it is a very easy walk to get around the entire place. With two toddlers we were able to walk the whole place and have time for the playground in about 3 hours. Gift shop is even reasonably priced as well. Overall would definitely recommend to anyone and it was great for our little ones too, we’ll definitely be back

Took the kids to boo at the zoo & they had a great time. The park is very well maintained and was very nice. They had candy for the kids and the kids could dress up. There was a face painting station & a little circus act. Would definitely return.

Great 👍🏽 family fun! All of the staff were very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable! Staff make sure we understood all the safety protocols. The obstacle course seems very well maintained. The park is a beautiful place to visit and enjoy time with family and friends! Absolutely will visit again!

Great time! Me and my daughter did the tree top adventures. It was timed at 3 hours but got done in 2.5. Weather was 80 but felt cool under the trees. Not very busy Friday morning. We will be back!

Best customer service ever! The team here is super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The courses were great for kids and adults! Lots or easy or challenging options. Several ziplines that go back and forth over a beautiful lake with canoes and kayaks below. The park itself was amazing and had lots to do. The overall experience here is 5 stars and we can't wait to go back!

This was an incredible experience. The staff were friendly and attentive. They answered all of our questions. We went through all obstacle courses and it was challenging! We went on the Tarzan swing which was scary because you had to jump off the platform but it was fun! If you have those water protector cases with a strap around the neck you can bring your phone. They only had large gloves which made it a tad difficult to open the clasp when I was switching stations. If you have your own gloves bring them and wear close toe shoes! Even though it was summer, we had a nice breeze and we were in the shade majority of the time. We did put on sunblock and bug repellent.

We have been on zip lines and obstacle courses like this 3 times in 3 different states. As a parent and someone who doesn’t do this frequently Go Ape in DE made me feel the safest! All their equipment, lines, and obstacles are well maintained and all the staff seemed knowledgeable and comfortable helping! Highly recommend!

Took 11 and 8 year old grandkids to treetop journey. I did not go but watched from ground. They had a great time. Fully hooked up the entire time and very safe. The guides were awesome and so helpful! Brought picnic lunch for after our 10:15 adventure.

Our group of 6 had so much fun- two teens, two 10 year olds and two parents. It was definitely challenging and a little scary at times but was so thrilling!

I booked this for my birthday weekend, but I’m so glad I took the leap—literally! The staff were incredibly kind and patient, Juliette made check-in easy, anticipated my questions, Tierrah explained everything clearly and safety focused. The instructor who saw me stuck, and Louis helped me through a tricky obstacle with so much encouragement. He is an absolute gem and he didn't let me give up. If you’re nervous or new to this, don’t worry—they’ve got you. The park is gorgeous, the zipline over Lums Pond is stunning, and the whole experience left me feeling proud and exhilarated. A must-visit for anyone seeking a well-run, memorable outdoor adventure.

Ridley Creek State Park is an expansive area comprising of woodlands and meadows, providing visitors a refreshing retreat to indulge in various outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and picnicking. The park features both paved and unpaved walking trails spread out on over 2,606 acres that are perfect for jogging, biking or dog walking.
It was a pleasant day with beautiful weather so we decided to go for a hike after our stay at Grace winery Inn. We hiked approximately 6 to 8 miles throughout a well marked loop. For the most part, it was flat with light challenging inclines and declines, but overall good workout. An overall perfect visit.

Beautiful area. Hadn't been here in about 38 years or so. The only drawback to this place is the parking situation. I tried getting here early but it didn't work. Had to park down the road on the shoulder. Otherwise, lots of trails and beautiful scenery. For some reason or other, some of the trails did not show up on my GPS. Some of the trails are rather hilly due to the varying terrain. Some historical buildings throughout and lots of markings on the numerous tree varieties. Worth the parking aggravation.

Friends told us to meet them at this park. We are from out of state and never heard of Ridley Creek State park. We walked over four miles but that’s just a short walk here. There are miles of roads and hiking trails to walk on. The trails are well marked. Take a map at the kiosk or take a pic of the map if you plan to walk the trails. We walked on the park road here and only had three cars pass us during our hour on the road. I can’t wait to get back and explore the trails. We met at the Hunting Hill Mansion parking lot above the park office. It was a great place for us to park as there is EV charging. A two-plug, EV station is available for public use for free.

Riidley has a permanent orienteering course that you can find on the DVOA site. There's a regular course with numbers & a long course that includes letters. It's a great way to see the park & improve your map reading skills....while enjoying a fantastic park.

Easily accessible. There are some parts wheelchairs can't get through. But all in all great place for a hike. Couple of bridges over creeks. We even found some Morel mushrooms there too. Love the fact they have multiple trash bins. For dog owners, don't have to hang on your doggies schnitzel in a bag the whole hike. Def one of my favorite places to hike now. Planning on going back asap.

Ridley Creek State Park is absolutely gorgeous at all times of year but especially in the fall. This is a great place to drive through or spend the day and visit with kids or family. Tons of space for activities and fun. The video I filmed showcases the trees in the fall as we drove through the park. I had the 360 camera mounted to a seat and held by the person in the front seat for extra safety. I hope you enjoy the views

Great place to go on a hike or bike ride as well as excellent fishing in Ridley Creek thanks to the Delco anglers who stock a lot of brook trout which are the native trout to this area. Make sure you check out the fishing area just off of Barren Rd above the fly fishing waterfall. Great trail and great fishing. I've seen everything from mink, river otters to Make eagles and much much more!!

Nemours Estate, located in Wilmington, Delaware, is a stunning 200-acre property that showcases the opulent lifestyle of the DuPont family. The centerpiece is a 77-room French neoclassical mansion designed to resemble an 18th-century chateau. The estate also boasts formal French gardens, vintage automobile displays in the garage, and extensive woodlands and meadows.
The estate has been beautifully maintained. A Saturday guided tour is really valuable. After the tour, you can explore the mansion on your own. There are also gardens to explore. There are some beautiful spots to take a break and enjoy the peace and quiet. I plan on returning soon to enjoy a behind the scenes tour.

Excellent worth visiting. Very impressed with the Estate & staff. The staff was amazing very friendly and helpful. The mansion has original items from the family still present in the rooms. Very clean & well maintained. *See attached photos 📸. One of the best Estates I have visited. Good parking. You will not be disappointed. I highly recommend you visit & also go to Long Wood Gardens which is close by. The gift shop is bad, it needs major improvement.

What a brilliant estate! I loved visiting Nemours. We thoroughly enjoyed the bus tour of the grounds, as well as touring the house. All of the staff/guides were informative and friendly. I was also impressed by the special attention given to visitors. It was especially hot the day we visited. The staff provided free water, sun umbrellas and even offered free rides up to the house due to the extreme heat. All the way around, it was a wonderful experience. Please visit this historical gem!

My Second visit to the estate and it is just wonderful experience. Reasonable ticket price $24 for 1x Adult for unlimited time on the property. Beautiful gardens, lots of benches and shade spots, wheelchair accessible. Also has a shuttle and golf carts to transfer you from/to the mansion.

This was a wonderful way to spend a few hours on a nice fall day. The mansion tour was extensive - unlike so many where you can only see a couple rooms. The grounds were gorgeous with lots of paths for walking, and the tram made it easy to see other spots we might have missed.

Delaware Art Museum

Museums
The Delaware Art Museum, located in Wilmington, was established in 1912 to celebrate the legacy of Howard Pyle, a prominent illustrator from the area. The museum boasts an extensive collection of over 12,000 artworks spanning the 19th to 21st centuries, including pieces by local and regional folk artists. Notably, it houses one of the most comprehensive Pre-Raphaelite art collections outside of the United Kingdom. Visitors can also explore a nine-acre sculpture garden during warmer months.
Cool place to check out for an afternoon visit. The museum has 18 galleries to check out and they are divided between the first and second floor. There is a cafe there, but I did not try anything this time. I’m not going to pretend I’m an educated art guy, but I really appreciated just about everything I saw. As I get older, it’s really interesting to see perspectives from artists who are mostly long gone. Painted faces from people I will never meet but I’ve seen similar looking people in real life. In this digital age we often think we are smarter or more sophisticated than people from the past, but the truth is we share more similarities than we may think. The transition from more traditional art to abstract art on the second floor was pretty surreal too. A lot of the art in those exhibits date back to the 1960s and above. I often wondered if there were any chemical or hallucinogenic inspirations that motivated the artist to make their works. Speculations aside, I still really enjoyed everything and think this art museum is worth checking out.
Redpresent12 — Google review
Beautiful, well curated museum with a diverse collection of paintings from many different time periods, styles and regions. A little bit of something for everyone. To top it off the sculpture garden surrounding the museum is a great way to start or finish your experience.
Josh W — Google review
Highly recommend this place. I discovered new American artists and enjoyed artwork that told stories (thanks to well written historical summaries), made me feel curious, happy, and inspired wonder. The small-ish museum is located on gorgeous land with trails, greens, picnic areas. And if you want even more, head over to nearby Rockford Park. Even though there were no tours on the Saturday I went, the sweet person from whom I bought the tix was so knowledgeable. I really appreciate that she understood my frustration with the website and shared that similar feedback has already been shared with IT. She also suggested other area museums I may enjoy based on my preferences.
Tax P — Google review
Maybe it was because our first visit coincided with an Eagles game, or the beautiful fall weather that there were no crowds to contend with, leaving us to enjoy the museum at our own pace. The permanent exhibits provided a great opportunity to view multiple pieces by Sloan and Pyle as well as the excellent temporary exhibits on Illustrating Race, and Plant Photography.
Brian F — Google review
Fantastic museum for fans of the Pre-Raphaelites. The museum is small, but thoughtfully curated with a diverse collection. The exhibit on illustration was very unique.
Nat F — Google review
I love art museums and this one is absolutely beautiful, and well maintained. They have so many great exhibits on the two floors and some interesting sculptures outside. The cost of admission online was only $18, which is rather inexpensive for viewing the great artwork that is on display. The staff is friendly and makes all feel very welcomed. They have plenty of parking in the back, several restrooms, a kids' corner for activities, a little cafe, and a cute gift shop. I definitely recommend checking this place out as it is truly a great way to spend a couple of hours of your day.
Lisa S — Google review
I had a wonderful experience at this museum. I had not been since I was quite young. I could not remember much about it or really say I could leave a review until I went back. My husband and I spent time strolling through and enjoying everything our hearts desired. I'm glad we started outside because the inside is bigger than I recalled. We started outside with the sculpture garden since that day there was a nice cool breeze. Most of the path was quite level, so I wouldn't have any issues with using my cane. I don't always need one, but I have some bad weeks. It's important to mention this especially if you look at my profile and my reviews, I'm looking out for accessibility issues whenever I go places. I think about wheelchair users, and I think about older folks and people who have health problems like myself. Speaking of which, on the inside, the museum has elevators, so you can get upstairs and downstairs with ease. The bathrooms are comfortable, spacious, and conveniently located. To me, every space felt welcoming and carefully designed and decorated! I loved the variety of artists and art on display. I was impressed with the number of African American artists I ended up learning about. I was just going to enjoy the museum and personally didn't have any expectation of finding a lot of Black artists. So I was pleasantly surprised, and it gave me a sense of pride! We had our lunch at their cafe, which is really a beautiful space. We chose to eat outside because, again, it was nice weather. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and accommodating if there were any needs expressed during the trip to the museum. I recommend locals and out-of-towners visit because you get so much for $14, the price of what some fast food meals almost are, honestly. I would advise several hours to take it in, and I was there two and a half hours but didn't get to the library or children's area downstairs. Neither did I get to shop even though their shop looks like it's fantastic! I will be back to visit again during the Rosetti's exhibit. Five-star experience and I'm thinking about getting a membership for the family.

Neat little art museum tucked away in a nice part of Wilmington. It takes about 2 hours to see the whole thing. The bottom floor has some historical portraits and such. The top floor is contemporary art. Well maintained outer grounds also. There is a labyrinth beside the parking lot you can walk around in.

This place is beautiful, was able to visit with a volunteer group, I was the bus driver. Lots of old buildings with history back to late 1600s and 1700s. There are paved trails and woodland hikes, they have events, weddings, church groups. It is a very peaceful place, some odd buildings to see. If you visit make sure to find the book to read along the trails, it starts around the goblin house. I was told to buy tickets online, I would save a few $

Events- movie theater, mini golf, childrens museum. Art work - peppered in along the path. An extensive array of trees, plants and flowers -some native to DE I had never seen before. Yes there are benches along the path and security on bicycles -I felt very safe. I met a friend from PA here... im from MD. Whether you're out with family, walking solo for some fresh air, or looking for a scenic backdrop for photos or content, this spot delivers. Bonus: there’s often live music or local events happening nearby, which adds to the charm. Safe, walkable, and full of character — definitely one of Delaware’s best-kept lifestyle gems. I’ll absolutely be back.

I strolled through the River Walk this past weekend. The views of Downtown Wilmington are absolutely beautiful, and the area is kept very clean. I also saw what I thought was some fauns on the other side of the river. During the walk, you will see plenty of restaurants, a beer garden, a mini-golf course (which is closed for the season), and a couple of museums that are in close proximity. The restroom is close to the Visitor's Center. This is a definite must-do whether you are a local or an out of towner like me.

Part Boardwalk part concrete walk, in downtown area, along the Christina River. Several restaurants, one was playing live music. A mini golf place, small playground, but not much else for activities. A beautiful 3-masted ship has a warf there. At the end of the it connects into a nature walk among the tidal flats. Not many people around on a mid-September Saturday afternoon. Bike rentals available. A good place for a walk or food, but not clear how lively the area is.

The Grand Opera House, located in Wilmington, Delaware, has been a source of entertainment for over 140 years. It offers a wide range of live performances including opera, symphony, ballet and Broadway shows. The historic building was constructed in 1871 as part of a Masonic temple and is known for its stunning Victorian architecture. With more than 120 performances annually across three venues, there's something to suit every taste.
We went to see Opera Delaware's world premiere of the opera "Fearless" here and loved both the performance as well as the opera house. We're lucky to have an elegant, beautiful opera house in Delaware. It was a Sunday performance so we were able to easily find street parking, but there are garages nearby as well.

Really nice old style opera house style theater with good views , from what I could see, for most seating. The sound for Melissa Etheridge was excellent, as it was clear and loud enough, better than some theaters where you still hear people talking and yelling. One negative that I noticed was that the staff were quite rude, sometimes downright nasty and a bit anal to a good percentage of patrons. The way they talked to people and the way they stood in your view of the stage was really disappointing. Maybe they just have a problem with the LGBT community, which in my eyes is unacceptable. Everyone was there to have a great time and no one should be talked to like that. Sorry about the poor quality photos, my phone is old and slow, unlike me. 🤣🤣🤣

Attended the Fearless: The Taylor Swift Experience. The show was great! I’ve lived here 25+ years and this was the first time attending an event here. The employees were super nice, especially the ladies working the bar. The ushers were polite and made sure everyone found their seats. They even took pictures for folks which I thought was super nice as well. There are a number of parking lots in the area so that wasn’t an issue. We parked near the DoubleTree and it only cost us $4. There’s ample food nearby and all within walking distance. We’ll be back!

Worst place ever to see a concert!!! We were told to sit down at the seats that we paid for! If u don't want anybody in front of u dancing, then stay home and watch the concert on TV. Unless it's a rule at the opera house, then the ushers shouldn't be able to tell u to sit down. My hb and I go to many concerts, and we have never been told to sit down by a usher!!! I felt like we were at a nursing home event! Don't bother coming here bc it's a waste of time and money! They should refund our 3 seats for the George Thorogood concert!

Thanks for another fabulous show. It is easy to park and walk in. The volunteer ushers are welcoming, friendly and helpful. They gave 200,000 hours of volunteer time last year! Give them a big thank you! Security inside and outside is top notch.

I come here every time it’s open and I get the amazing pretzels and lemonade. I love the blue raspberry lemonade that’s my favorite. The doughnuts 🍩 r out of this world good . They r always fresh and sometimes they r hot! The pretzel stand has some of the best around always hot fresh and loaded with butter. I wouldn’t go to the meat counter though they have lots of roaches 🪳. The shops and trinkets here are always fun to look at !

This review is for the coffee stand inside. I ordered a honey latte and it was perfect! Perfectly balanced flavors and very smooth taste. Lots of flavor choices & drink options to choose from. They offer whole milk & two dairy alternatives.

Great place and the sellers are all kind but once I got home I saw that my raspberry pie had mold on it. I know organic stuff spoils fast but I have a feeling this was sitting there for a few days and was still left out to be sold. I live 30 min away so not sure who to even contact for refund

Visiting from Florida, always have to stop at the Dutch Amish market the food is delicious and the desserts are amazing as well all the local produce. And you have to stop in at Miller’s country kitchen where the food is very good and Mary and Sarah is so kind so shout out to them both For their hard work.

One of the best Amish Markets I have ever visited. Everyone is so helpful and nice. The products from pre-made side dishes or meals to the produce to fabulous baked goods/doughnuts/desserts are so good! They don't just LOOK GOOD! Will definitely be back.

This place is fantastic for great food, fresh vegetables, homemade candies, and baked goods. It is run by Amish from Pennsylvania and offers an excellent selection for your everyday shopping needs, including a butcher, a greengrocer, and a bakery with friendly staff. Don't miss their great pretzels and delicious breakfast options. It truly can't be beat!

Absolutely amazing place. Stoltzfus has the most amazing dinners with excellent portions. We had their chicken tenders Thursday special. $7.99 for four nice size tenders and two sides. We had the vegetable medley (baby carrots, peppers, onions, broccoli, cauliflower and mushrooms) and baby lima beans with an amazing sweet sauce. There are all different vendors in the market as well. You don't want to miss this place.

Frightland

Haunted house
Water & Amusement Parks
Annual attraction with carnival rides & fear-themed areas from a haunted barn to a horror hay ride.
This was my second time visiting Frightland with the first time being in the 2010s. Better than I remember!! They do have metal detectors now so pack light and try not to bring a bag! I went on a Sunday at 7:30pm and, despite there being lots of people, my friend and I waited in line for like 5-10 mins max! We also bought our tickets online. Very spooky. The actors will touch you and the jump scares are plenty. Make sure to dress in layers because it gets cold! I’ll definitely be back! :)

My wife and visited this place on Sunday 26 Oct 2025. After a 45 minutes drive, We thought it was going to be less crowded but it was not. The queue for regular tickets was so long and we waited almost 60 minutes in the cold to get in. The quality of attraction was 5/5, the actors working the line 3/5, and concession and store 5/5. It Featured 8 unique and terrifying haunted attractions, including haunted houses, a hayride and more but to me, there was almost nothing scary about this. There weren’t many scare actors in the lines either. The longest line had 2 scare actors, but interaction with the crowd was minimal. The preparation and designing was great. I liked the creativity, the costumes and the vast nature of the place. It also includes a separate amusement park with rides and food, but the main "game" experience is centered on the haunted attractions. Above all, i appreciate the effort put in to entertain the public. If you plan on visiting, I strongly recommend a VIP ticket.
Oben A — Google review
Went there on 10/17/2025. The trip is about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Baltimore, which is close to my max limit of 90 minutes drive. Here is my rating system: Quality of attraction: 5/5 Waiting time in regular line: 1/5 Entertainment (actors) working the line: 3/5 Concessions and store: 5/5 Price of admission compared to attraction: 5/5 The lines for this attraction are absurd. There’s a line to get onto the fairgrounds (about 5-10 minutes), a line to redeem online tickets once in the fairgrounds (about 5 minutes), a line to get into the hayride loading station (1 hour and 20 minutes), a line at the hayride loading station (5-10 minutes), an lines between each of the different haunts (anywhere between 5 and 20 minutes per haunt). I strongly recommend buying the VIP pass to save yourself time! There weren’t many scare actors in the lines either. The longest line had 2 scare actors, but interaction with the crowd was minimal. I saw a lot of people having to entertain themselves, which you shouldn’t have to do after paying your hard earned money just to get in to the haunt. The scare actors did a good job in the attraction. Each of the attractions took 10-15 minutes to complete. The range of material was superb and there were excellent scares throughout. This is a mild touch haunt with water spray, light touch on neck, shoulders. The experience is very linear and you can’t pick the order in which you experience the haunts. There is a fairground included in the haunt with lots of rides, concessions, and merchandise. The store is accessible before an after experiencing the haunt and had a good selection of items. Overall, Frightland is a great haunted attraction. Had I known about the lines (my only gripe with the experience), I would have upgraded to VIP.
Samuel M — Google review
if it wasn’t for the way it’s set up to where you have to do every single attraction at once I’d give it a 5. I expect long waits in the lines themselves especially weekends so I’m not mad about that. I just wish I knew ahead of time that once you get on the hayride the first person to get your ticket rips the entire half off. (There’s screens everywhere saying you don’t have to use the entire fright pass that night but the set up made that a little less than useable) You can’t have beverages understandable but the entire experience was 8-11:30pm and I didn’t finish I used a exit door with another brave enough couple to get the heck out so we could get water, and food. After we did we could not go back and finish unfortunately:( All the actors I encountered were dope! Got to see my younger self (attached) from 10+ years ago flash on the screen so that was fun. Overall was well worth the $100 I spent for 2. The rides were amazing, food was decently priced. I’m happy.

The best Haunted Hayride that I have rode. Great animations and scares. Also you get an unlimited ride wrist band for the carnival with your admission to Frightland.

This spot is Super Dope. Being a haunter myself, I’m extremely critical of these attractions. This one didn’t fail at all. Amazing effects, ambiance was so fun and creepy. The carnival is an added bit of excitement.

This is amazingly scary, I been to several haunted attractions an this is one of the best. Went on a Thursday night an the lines weren’t bad at all. Highly recommend!
Katie H — Google review
Parking was easy and very organized. You will go through metal detectors so be prepared. No bags of course. We got tickets there so we stood in line for that but that wasn’t a terrible wait. Butttttt once you get in line for the hayride you should have ate and used the bathroom. There’s a DJ playing music. Catch a vibe and a spook iykyk 😂 We waited like 2 hours but it was sooooooo worth it. I will spare the details about the rest. Dress extremely warm because it dropped to like 35 degrees. The food in the amusement park was good too. Definitely will be back next year with a bigger crew!!

Ambler Theater

Fun & Games
Ambler Theater is a nonprofit movie theater located in downtown Ambler, offering a unique experience with its focus on art and foreign films. The theater also hosts kids' events and guest lecturers. The well-kept auditoriums exude an old Hollywood vibe, providing a vintage feel while maintaining modern sound and picture quality. Adjacent to great restaurants and bars, the theater stands as a crowning jewel on Ambler's main street with its spacious, clean 20s architecture.
Very nice theater, great sound system and screen and comfortable seats. I was expecting it to be a little dated but the experience was very comparable to the modern cookie cutter movie theaters. It was so cool seeing the craftsmanship of the old building (97 years old). Definitely looking forward to going back again

The loving restoration of this fabulous old theater is in progress and is coming along swimmingly. Featured films include first run, foreign, family friendly, and independent releases, as well as the classics from long ago that have retained their magic. Members receive special perks and seats are comfy. If you only come to see the movie posters and vintage film projectors, you’ll be delighted. But do check out some of the oldies.

Absolutely gorgeous old school theater! It’s spacious, clean with cool 20s architecture!! The snack stand is also old school, with great popcorn (with butter that actually tastes like butter) sodas and other bottled sodas that you don’t find at other theaters. The seats are also old school but very comfy. The employees are nice, quick and efficient. Since the theater is in the middle of town, it doesn’t have a dedicated parking lot, but there is plenty of parking at a public parking lot about 500 feet away. We had a great time and will definitely be back!!

Museums
The Philadelphia Museum of Art is a grand and iconic space known for its impressive entry staircase and Renaissance masterpieces. Situated at the end of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, it consists of three buildings, including the Rodin Museum and the Perelman Building. Housing over 240,000 artifacts and artworks, such as sculptures, paintings, armor, and decorative arts from various civilizations around the world. The museum is one of the largest and most visited in the world.
It has a beautiful collection of different ages and cultures. Start from the top floor and, most probably, you will spend there most of your day in the museum. There are unique pieces of European Medieval Art, Asian Art, and American period. It's like swimming in the waves from one culture to another. Another thing which is notable about this museum is that it tries hard to recreate the atmosphere of each period and culture through bringing up of their correspondent architectural authentic elements which fills the rooms with distinctive spirit of each place. It's a definitely nice place to visit for Art & Culture lovers.

This is a must visit when in Philadelphia. Gorgeous museum filled with inspiring artifacts. There are so much to see , and you can get lost inside, since it was our first time here, it took us a while to figure it out how to exit the exhibits. We had a great time inside the museum , spent hours inside the museum enjoyed everything we saw, only wished we had more time to spend here. Tickets pricing are reasonable with military enter for free at certain times. Friendly and attentive staff. Great location. Can arrive on one of the city bus tours as well.
Starr D — Google review
I haven't been to the museum since I was in 8th grade. The experience of the museum inside was great. No complaints. But upon entering and purchasing my admission ticket, I had tapped my card. On the screen that faced me, it read "approved". But the lady behind the ticket counter told me it was "declined". I thought that was odd considering my side said it wasn't. And she insisted that it was declined. So I tapped my card several more times and then finally on the 4th time it was approved. I found it weird but continued my visit into the museum. As I was getting ready to leave, I checked my bank statement through my app and right there it said I was charged twice for my admission. 2 charges for $30. So I stopped at the ticket counter on my way out and they denied me any kind of help with returning my money, even though I showed them right there On my phone that they had charged me twice for one admission. They told me basically they can't do anything about it and that my bank statement wasn't proof enough basically. And then told me to contact my bank because it wasn't their problem. I thought it was rude and inconsiderate, when they were the ones who charged me twice and the proof was right in front of them. I walked away and immediately called my bank. Thank God they are amazing and saw what the museum did and were able to stop it as a duplicate charge. I really don't know what their (museum staff) problem was or why they were rude about it as if I was not being truthful. Even though I showed them right there, that they charged me twice. So I would pay attention to your bank statements when purchasing your admission tickets. Other than that, the museum is a beautiful place to visit and the rest of the staff throughout the museum was friendly and extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with. So I will give 4 stars for the rest of my experience. 😊

Climbing up the grand staircase felt like stepping into an ancient Roman temple! ⛪️ The museum’s interior is full of brilliant design details — even the elevator has a striking, unforgettable look. ✨ Behind it, the Phillips Fountain offers a perfect view of City Hall, making it a great photo spot! 📸 You can also find Monet’s Sunflowers here 🌻 — and learn about the meaning behind the Chinese phrase “Five Blessings Arrive at the Door” (五福臨門), symbolizing happiness, longevity, health, virtue, and peace. 🍀
GSTonyTseng — Google review
This museum offers art from many periods that are nothing short of exquisite! There are four floors of exhibits. I recommend to start at the third floor and work your way down. There are stairs and elevators for those who are handicapped. The third floor offers armor, European Art from the Medieval period to roughly 1850 as well as Asian Art. Not only are art pieces displayed, but also parts of buildings to showcase the artful architecture of Europe and Asia. The second floor includes contemporary European and American artworks. Paintings, sculptures, and displays make up most of the floor, each demonstrating the variety of creativity the modern mind can produce. The first floor encompasses the special exhibit and American Art up to the early nineteenth century with and emphasis on Pennsylvania art and furniture. The gift shops are also on this floor, featuring exceptional books, prints, magnets, stickers, and other souvenirs one may take home with them. The ground floor includes some African and Asian artwork from a special exhibit of artistic clothing. The security people did not make you feel uncomfortable (in fact, many were welcoming). Overall, this is a museum that one has to check out if they are in the Philadelphia area. Be prepared to spend four hours there at least if you like looking at every single item!

One of the best museums I've experienced in the states! It's very big, nice, clean, and a lot of collections that you might want to see desperately! And they offer 15$ per adult every Friday night with DJ/ music stuff. Although I think the event is not necessary, however, it's very good to see a museum try to attract different areas of people to come in again to appreciate the pure beauty of arts!

The Rocky Statue, located outside the Philadelphia Museum of Art, is a massive and iconic landmark depicting the fictional boxer Rocky Balboa. Featured in the 1976 film "Rocky," this statue has become a symbol of Philadelphia's culture and a popular tourist attraction. Visitors can recreate the famous scene by running up the steps leading to the museum, just like Sylvester Stallone did in the movie.
Awesome view of the beautiful City! I did the historical Rocky run up the stairs. The architecture is amazing! A must see when in Philadelphia!

Definitely an iconic attraction if you ever watched Rocky. The steps did seem more arduous in the movie. However, with me being out of shape, I was exhausted walking up them. Lol.

Interesting finding: there are actually 2 Rockies, one Statue is easy accessible and moveable, if needed, open for public, and stands on top of the Rocky Stairs to the Museum (on my pic below) but there is a second Rocky Statue - nearby on ground level hidden among trees and this one is the original one!

I had an absolute blast at the Rocky Steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art! Of course, I had to channel my inner Rocky, run up those steps, and snap a selfie at the top, cue the Rocky theme music in my head. Afterwards, I sat and watched wave after wave of people doing the same. Some made it like true champions, others had to stop halfway and “go the distance” just to catch their breath. 🤣😂Such an awesome and iconic Philly experience. Yo Adrian, I did it!

Eastern State Penitentiary, located in Philadelphia's Fairmount neighborhood, is a gothic-style prison that has been transformed into a popular attraction. The prison once housed notorious individuals like Al Capone and Willie Sutton. Visitors can take tours of the historic cell blocks and explore the haunting architecture of the penitentiary. The museum offers a glimpse into the lives of those imprisoned within its walls, including a look at Al Capone's lavishly furnished cell.
I’ve attended both a daytime tour and Terror Behind the Walls on separate occasions, and each visit was incredible. The guided daytime tour shared fascinating insights into the prison’s influence on the criminal justice system, and Terror Behind the Walls—both times—was an unforgettable experience. The option to be tapped by staff for access to hidden passages added an extra thrill that was absolutely worth it. Even with light sensitivity and a nervous system prone to panic, I found Eastern State to be both accommodating and endlessly impressive. A truly one-of-a-kind experience.

The eastern State penitentiary is a great self guided walking tour. The tour starts with audio headphones and nine points of interest that you can listen to. However, you can walk at your own pace and get through the museum in roughly an hour.
Carlos U — Google review
One of the coolest and creepiest places I’ve ever visited! The Eastern State Penitentiary is massive, and walking through the old cell blocks feels like stepping into a movie set. The audio guide is honestly the best way to experience this place—it’s super engaging and really brings the history to life. The fact that Al Capone’s cell is here just makes it even more unreal. I ended up spending almost 3 hours exploring because there’s so much to see. If you’re in Philly, this is hands down a must-see—history, mystery, and a little bit of spookiness all in one.
Rana S — Google review
We came to see the Mütter Museum, but we couldn't leave without experiencing Eastern State. This was truly the highlight of our trip. This place is remarkable, and it's difficult to convey just how surreal it felt to be there. We opted for the self-guided tour without audio to fully absorb everything it offers within its quiet, cool halls. We plan to return, as this destination certainly warrants multiple visits.

This is my third time being in Philly (I feel like it’s pretty rare for tourists to visit Philly three times, but I do love this city). This was a real hidden gem and one of my favourite things I’ve experienced in this city. The audio tour, architecture, and atmosphere is truly captivating. WELL worth the $21 honestly.

Really cool self guided tour. It’s nicer when it’s not as packed (obviously) so you can spend as much time as you want in each place. The tour is voiced by Steve Buscemi which I don’t know why but that was just hilarious to me. Buy tickets online for a few bucks off the price.

This is a MUST-SEE historic place!! Not often you are willing to go into prison at your own will 🫣.... A lot of knowledge obtained with self-guide audio tour.... Incredible architecture, stories, artefak, and the staff are all helpful and willing to answer any questions (very knowledgeable!)

Prison known to have housed infamous inmates such as Al Capone and Slick Willie. Did the audio guide tour which was good enough. You learn about the type of prisoners that passed through here; some petty crimes others not so much. The design of the prison is rather interesting. The cells tell a story! Different type of attraction, which is worth visiting.

The Barnes Foundation is a treasure trove of art and culture, featuring an extensive collection of impressionist, post-impressionist, and early modern art. Visitors can admire works by renowned artists such as Picasso, Renoir, Cezanne, and Matisse alongside African sculptures, Native American textiles, metalwork, Grecian urns, and other eclectic antiquities.
This is a wonderful hidden gem. Most people tend to visit the famous art museum, and they pass by this amazing museum on their way, but don't pay it attention. I must have passed it myself a hundred times, maybe more. But not on this day. We arrived and were surprised even before entering the building. The most amazing evergreens, s beautiful pond, very serene. Inside, tons of Monet, Renoir, Picasso. Works of amazing, famous artists within an arms reach. Very powerful. We will definitely return, perhaps even make it an annual event.

Wonderful art collection - never seen so many Renoir and Cezanne paintings in one gallery before, except in special exhibitions. Also really liked the architecture of the gallery itself. I took a paid tour of the current special Rousseau exhibition and the docent (Wendy?) was fantastic - so much knowledge and shared in a great storytelling way.

A beautiful building that contains rooms with art from an amateur collector. Mostly European art that is hung precisely how the owner of the art intended to hang This museum can become very busy so be mindful of buying your ticket. The restaurant has a beautiful garden but the menu was a bit lacking in interesting food items.

We loved our visit to the Barnes! Due to the size/scope of the collection, and how it is displayed, I highly recommend the Private Collection Tour with a docent to guide your experience. Our docent guide was amazing, super knowledgeable, and made sure we saw all of the pieces that we were most excited about (the Renoirs) during our tour. The collection is obviously incredible, but hearing the back story behind certain acquisitions, Mr. Barnes himself, and the relocation to the Parkway, was invaluable. If you're going to visit the collection, I strongly encourage upgrading to the Private Tour, and don't forget to stop by the gift shop downstairs on your way out! They have some great stuff!!

If you love the Impressionists, THIS is where you must go. The collection is just mind-bending and achingly beautiful. I’m no art expert, but found it really moving. We spent several hours here, but if you really know art, I’m sure you could spend a day. It’s across the street from the Philadelphia Museum of Art, so hit them both.

I recently visited the Barnes Foundation and was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional experience, particularly its educational approach, stunning architecture, and carefully curated collection. The Foundation’s commitment to education is evident in every aspect of the visit. The exhibition descriptors are clear, insightful, and engaging, providing just the right amount of context to deepen appreciation without overwhelming. The guide we had was knowledgeable and passionate, weaving stories about the artworks that brought them to life in a way that felt accessible to all. The website, too, is a fantastic resource - well-organized and packed with detailed information that enhanced our understanding before and after the visit. This thoughtful approach made the art feel approachable and meaningful, regardless of one’s background. The architecture of the Barnes Foundation is equally inspiring. The building’s materiality - its use of natural stone (I read it was sourced and textured from Israel), warm wood, and soft lighting - creates a serene and inviting atmosphere that complements the art perfectly. The tranquil landscape design, with its lush greenery and peaceful outdoor spaces, adds a calming dimension, making the entire experience feel like a retreat. It’s a space that encourages reflection and connection with the art. While the collection is relatively small, every piece is a gem, carefully curated to showcase astounding uniqueness and beauty. From vibrant impressionist works to striking modernist pieces, each artwork feels intentional and impactful, making the collection feel rich despite its size. The Barnes Foundation strikes a perfect balance of education, inspiration, and curation, making it a must-visit for anyone who loves art. I left feeling enriched and eager to return.

What a great local brewery! We stopped by because we were in town for a Lacrosse tournament and man did we have a good time! They had the Alicia Maxwell Project band there that night and WOW were they amazing! Good food, beer, and people! That’s What I Love IPA is amazing!!

Every time we hit Blue Earl we like it more. Their beer is always on point and they started serving food (back in April)! Boy do they do a great job! We had the shrimp tacos tonight and not only were they tasty but the shrimp were cooked perfectly! We also split an order of bacon/cheese tots. #yum

It is 10:14 PM on a Saturday night. I walked up to the door, pulled it, and it was locked. There were 4 people, minimum, at the bar actively drinking. Everyone including the bartender looked at me and did not respond. No private party. Disappointed. Rude.

Wow, pleasantly surprised! Stopped in while driving by, great beers and the new menu was delicious - had the tomato crackers with cheese dip and chorizo/shrimp toast. Will go out of the way to come back

I was recently at Blue Earl Brewing Company in Smyrna, DE, and I was very disappointed. The music was so loud that it was difficult to have a conversation, and the new BBQ menu that they had been advertising was nowhere to be found. Not a fan of their BBQ Sauce. I did love the new Lemonade Beer. Also wish they had some stout beers under %10

Great little brewery tucked way back in a small industrial park. Wonderful atmosphere and very friendly staff. The food was ok, we'll be back to try more of the offerings. And the beer was great, with a wide variety available on tap and some available bottled and ready to go.

The Franklin Institute

Science museum
Sights & Landmarks
The Franklin Institute is a vibrant and family-friendly science museum in Philadelphia, offering numerous interactive exhibits and displays, as well as a planetarium. It is one of the region's most popular science museums with a wide array of kid-friendly exhibitions. Visitors can explore the abundance of museums and historical attractions in Greater Philadelphia, play in the city's expansive parks and playgrounds, and reconnect with animals and nature. Additionally, the institute features an outdoor spot on its fifth floor that offers breathtaking views of the city.
I love this museum. There are sooooo many things to look and very interactive. I spent almost the whole day to visit all the sections and enjoyed very much. There are good shows at different time too. Highly recommend The Sky Tonigh. One of the best ones I ever watched in a museum. The Liquid air show was also fun. Kids would definitely love it. One negative thing is the stuff in the gift shop is pretty expensive, and lots of them don't have a price.

Very cool place. Full of cool things to keep us adults and my daughter intrigued. The Eatery was a nice way to break up the day and grab some food. Parking garage was easy to use too.

Best museum ever! It's so educational! My two favorite exhibits of the museum were the live show and the heart! I was so amazed by the heart exhibit that I went three times! The love shows that the guy did the liquor, and the air was so cool. I learned that nitrogen can exist in three states: liquid, solid, and gas, and the sheep heart dissection was fascinating. I thoroughly enjoy myself in the museum. Please take your kids to it and read all the signs and interact with the exhibit!
Esthefany V — Google review
The best museums are the ones like Franklin! It is structurally appealing to look at from the outside, and it looks great. The tickets are the usual price for an attraction like this and are discounted for kids. It's one of the most interactive museums I've ever been to. There were so many different exhibits to see and things to do, so I couldn't do it all in a few hours. Would 100% recommend for a rainy day or overall activity to spend with or without kids. I believe the sports section is temporary, but that was my personal favorite!
Lyla F — Google review
Love this place. Very cool for kids and adults. The one downside is the parking ticket situation. If you're a member, you have to bring the parking ticket inside to the customer service desk for validation in order to get the discount. It would be more convenient to self validate at the parking kiosk using your membership card/number. If you forget you ticket you have to go into the parking lot and the all the way back into the building to get it validated. Very inconvenient for big families with lots of small children. If you forget your ticket your out $25. There should be a work around for when members lose their tickets. Also, note, we went on a Wednesday. Lots of school trips. This is helpful if you have small children who might get trampled in the shuffle of big kids.

I grew up with the Franklin Institute—memberships, school field trips, invention camp, even a 50th birthday party. Now, I bring my own kids and share in the same joy of hands-on, engaged learning. We love the iconic walk-through heart and the massive train you can actually board and explore. The museum is packed with interactive exhibits that invite kids (and adults) to hands on tinker, and discover. The rotating special exhibits are always top-notch, and the permanent ones continue to hold their value over time. On our most recent visit, we stumbled into the planetarium—what a treat. The 15–20 minute constellation show was a great new experience, and my kids gave it a big thumbs up. Highly recommend this best in class museum. We’ll keep coming back—forever and ever.

I picked up a Philadelphia City Pass earlier this year, and by August we finally decided to cash it in. Three outings crammed into nine days: because why pace yourself when you can binge museums like they’re a Netflix series? First stop was the Franklin Institute, a place I hadn’t visited since childhood. Back then it felt like a temple of science and wonder. As an adult, it still has its magic, but it’s more of a mixed bag: part awe, part “well, that could certainly use some WD-40.” The day started off smooth. The City Pass check-in was easy, and the whole place never felt oppressively crowded. We could take our time at exhibits without standing in lines or being elbowed aside. And the good stuff was genuinely good: that massive steam locomotive in the collection hall is still jaw-dropping, the revamped optical illusions section is both playful and a little disorienting, and the “Your Brain” exhibit was hands-down the star of the day. It managed to be both engaging and eerie—the neuron model in particular was mesmerizing, glowing webs of activity that looked like they’d been lifted from the Upside Down. The kids were hypnotized; pulling them away from it felt like trying to separate a teenager from Wi-Fi. The iconic walk-through heart is still around, a bit dated but endearing in a “retro science fair” sort of way. Even the cafeteria pulled off a minor miracle with fruit, whole-grain snacks, and prices that didn’t require selling a kidney. The building itself, though, might outshine everything else. Between the soaring dome, the columns, the tucked-away crown molding, and the ceilings painted like quiet treasures, it’s a place where you almost forget you’re there to look at exhibits because the walls themselves are art. But let’s not romanticize it too much. The parking garage was cramped, overpriced, and about as relaxing as driving through a car wash with your windows down. Once inside, the museum’s layout was a mess. Poor signage, confusing hallways—it would’ve been easy to miss entire sections if we weren’t deliberately combing through. And let’s talk about security—or rather, the lack of it. No bag checks, no real staff presence, just the feeling that you could wander around unmonitored forever. Efficient, yes, but also unnerving. And the interactive exhibits? A letdown. Too many broken or outdated to the point of embarrassment. Nothing ruins the energy of discovery like hammering on a button only to watch it sputter out a dim, apologetic light. A lot of these things desperately need tuning, updating, or straight-up replacing. The “special exhibit” was the final insult: some “wonders of the body” deal that cost $20 extra. It looked as thrilling as reading medical pamphlets in a waiting room. I couldn’t help but compare it to when I was a kid and the Institute was showcasing Jurassic Park’s dinosaurs—life-size, in-your-face, unforgettable. Once you’ve seen animatronic T-Rexes roar down at you, a hallway of anatomy posters just doesn’t cut it. So we saved our money. And while I was happy to linger, read, and soak up information, I could see the attention spans of kids wearing thin. For every moment of excitement, there were two where the pace slowed to plaque-reading mode…and not every child is built for that kind of grind. All told, the Franklin Institute is still a worthwhile stop. It has genuine moments of awe, especially in its architecture and a handful of exhibits that really land. But the cracks show: broken equipment, lack of staff, and a general sense of being behind the times. It feels like a place leaning on nostalgia and reputation instead of being fully polished for the present. A few updates, working buttons, and maybe a return to bold, thrilling special exhibits would restore the magic. Until then, it’s a mix of marvels and missed opportunities, equal parts temple of science and cautionary tale in museum maintenance.
Ash S — Google review
The Franklin Institute was very fun and engaging. We didn’t have as much time as we would have liked and didn’t get to see anything in the planetarium but the rest of the place was great. The sports area was fun, a few things were broken unfortunately. But overall we had a great time would be awesome for kids from like 5+ I’d guess. Our baby seemed to enjoy tho as well. We used a go city pass for entry that went really smooth.

This is a distillery and an art exhibition at the same time. I did the whiskey tasting and had the blackberry shake with their vodka in it. Very good. The staff was very nice. I met some of the locals while I was there. A great experience. It's definitely a place where I will go back to.

The Hidden Gem of Smyrna I recently had the pleasure of visiting a distillery in Smyrna, Delaware, and it truly is a hidden gem. The staff was exceptional—incredibly knowledgeable and eager to answer all of my questions, no matter how detailed. I had a fantastic time exploring their offerings, but the standout for me was their "Pot Still Whiskey with a Wine Barrel Finish." It was exceptionally smooth and flavorful, making it a close contender for my top favorite. If you're ever in the area, this distillery is definitely worth a visit!

Phenomenal cocktails and a lovely atmosphere with local art displayed. We even got cocktails to go because everything on the menu sounded so good! Will definitely be back here!

My husband and I had heard rave reviews of The Painted Stave, and finally made it there this evening with three other couples who are friends of ours - it was also their first visit there. I would deem the overall experience a disappointment, basically due to our waitress's utter lack of attention to us. It took her a while to take our initial order (before our friends had arrived), and it took some 15 minutes before our drinks arrived. By the time we wanted to order a second drink, it took three tries and close to twenty minutes to get our server's attention. We were there for nearly three hours, and each one of us could have easily ordered three drinks. Instead, we each got only one or two drinks - because our waitress never came to our table once to ask if we needed anything. And this is a place that serves no food. I truly do not think that she was overwhelmed and had to attend to too many tables, by the way. The drinks were fine, a bit too "out there" for my taste, but decent. We liked the taco truck quite a bit, although the service was slow there too. A very good concept and a very nice venue, but things have to be run much better.

It is still amazing! Sign up for one of their cocktail classes if you get a chance. Mike is hilarious and informative at the same time and the cocktails are delicious! Painted Stave is a really good distillery located in Smyrna Delaware. They make a variety of whiskies, bourbons, gins, etc. They have a nice setup where you can come taste everything straight up, or in a variety of delicious cocktails. Food is usually available in the form of a food truck. They have both indoor and outdoor seating as well. Definitely worth a stop.

Phenomenal!! We went to a how to make a few drinks class here and it was so fun and educational! Julia, Amy, Angel, Kaitlin, Mike, and Angela were all amazing! Mike's knowledge and his ability to share with us the history of the drinks we were making made the class that much better! We will be back. Oh, and the taco truck, so yummy! I've been back here three or four times. Beverly and Grace truly are amazing! I've fallen in love with a distillery! I will continue to drive the hour and a half it takes me to get here and enjoy the people, classes, and food.

One of our local favorites. With a seasonal menu that changes but never fails or disappoints, incredibly friendly staff/owners, and drinks that not only taste amazing but aren’t shy, we always have a good time! Check out the taco truck onsite too!

I went for brunch with a group of ladies after a camping trip. I had a non-alcoholic drink, cherry lime soda, but it was still presented in a beautiful way. It was really good. The decor was interesting and the atmosphere was very cool and comfortable. They have a very beautiful patio. There is also the food truck on the property, Taco Jardin. The food was delicious!

Reading Terminal Market is a renowned indoor farmer's market that has been serving a diverse range of food, housewares, and local specialties since 1893. It offers an array of dining options including Townsend Wentz's Oloroso and Jose Garces' Amada.
Reading Terminal Market is a foodie paradise, and my visit was a perfect example of why. The variety here is unmatched—you can walk a few steps and go from authentic international dishes to Philly classics. We started with some hearty Indian food: a rich spinach and stew dish paired with flavorful rice. The rice was perfectly seasoned, and the stew had layers of spice. Of course, no trip to Philly is complete without a cheesesteak, so we grabbed one from uncle Gus restaurant. The bread was fresh with that perfect crunch from the sesame seeds, the onions were caramelized just right, and the meat and cheese were melt-in-your-mouth good. It really hit the spot. What I love about Reading Terminal Market is that you can try completely different cuisines in one visit. In just one meal, we went from Indian flavors to an iconic Philly classic, and everything tasted authentic and delicious. Yes, it’s busy, but that’s the fun of it—it feels alive, full of people and energy. The food quality makes it more than worth it. Whether you’re a local or visiting Philly, you won’t leave hungry, and you’ll probably already be planning what you want to try next time.

This a very unique place! It’s a must see and the perfect spot for lunch. There’s many different food options here, all of a wide variety! From raw oysters to soul food to sushi to Indian. There are a few dessert places as well. The meat market and fish market have lots of things to choose from if you plan on grabbing and preparing at home! We visited on a Saturday and it was overwhelmingly packed with people, however it is open 7 days a week, so I suggest visiting on a weekday.

Incredible space with multiple vendors, shops, and restaurants! Can’t recommend this market enough - we’ve literally told everyone about it. We are so glad we stopped in at the recommendation of our Lyft driver and we were so impressed. Coffee, Chocolate Pastries, multicultural cuisine options, and at least one or two bar / restaurants spaces. Not only was it an amazing adventure just walking the aisles, but everything was clean and the service at all the stalls was incredible. People were polite and it was easy to navigate the space! Highly recommend stopping Reading Terminal if you’re in the area!

We went on a Sunday at noon. I have to say it was busy but was still easy to get around with a toddler. We went to The Original Turkey and it was so delicious reminds me of Thanksgiving but so much better because the turkey was juicy and tender. The stuffing had so much flavor and the gravy was savory. The stuffing club was to die for. Next was dessert and we decided on Wilts!!!! Chocolate strawberries was so sweet and delicious. Strawberries by themselves were fragrant. Then Muller Chocolate Co. We got a variety of truffles and chocolate covered pretzels. As a tourist I definitely recommend these places but I do say go and look around and try things that you might fancy! There is plenty

Oh my. What an incredible place to get a true taste of Philly. From cheesesteaks and pretzels to baked goods and fresh meats and veggies - there’s something around every corner! Enjoyed a fresh pressed juice, bagels and donuts while we strolled. Bought some local libations home with us. Can’t wait to go try some more spots throughout the market

A must visit! TONS of vendors and delicious food throughout the building. Anything you could want, it’s going to be in here. I loved the neon signs and how much there was throughout. Great deals galore, and everyone was friendly and helpful if you had a question. I wish I had something like this closer to home; I would visit Philly again just to come Back here!

Our favourite place in Philly! Open everyday from 8am-6pm. If you visit Philly, this is a MUST! Gets very busy on weekends and it’s sometimes difficult to move around because of how narrow some of the aisles are. There are so many food options here, from Vegan food, cookies, doughnuts, delis, cheese and chocolate boutiques. There are washrooms here and some very limited seating.

What a cultural gem. From cheese steaks, to pastry shops, candy stores, groceries, seafood & meat markets, Amish diner, smoothies, gifts, and more. Prices range from fair to touristy. It's clean, including the restrooms, the service is kind, and the options are endless.

The Independence Visitor Center is a must-visit resource hub in Philadelphia, serving as the gateway to the city's popular attractions such as Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. The center offers multilingual concierge staff who provide comprehensive orientation on the region's culture, history, shopping, and dining options. Visitors can also enjoy interactive exhibits and shop for unique Ben Franklin and Rocky-inspired merchandise at the gift shop.
This visitor center is a great first stop for learning about Independence National Historical Park and the rest of the city. Park rangers are friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. The entire facility is clean and well-lit from gift shop to bathrooms. Plenty of photo opportunities exist throughout the space. This is everything I look for in a visitor center.

Worth a visit if you like to connect with the nation's history. We certainly enjoyed it. Parking is getting quite expensive to $24 for the first two hours from August 1st. There may be other cheaper choices available for parking but I'm unsure about that.

I came here last week for their Movies on the Mall series. I had a really good time, the movie was really good, had a great view of the movie, and loved that they had the little restaurant open for us to buy food too. I will be back again for more movies over because the view of the movie and the scenery as a whole was really nice.

Every city needs a visitor center like this! It's designed well, spacious, and comes with restrooms, a cafe, info booths, exhibits, and even people in period dress acting as famous roles. While there, I spoke with Bishop Richard Allen, the founder of the AME denomination. There's also a roof terrace with a beautiful view of Independence Hall.

The Liberty Bell, last rung in 1846, is a 2,080-pound symbol of freedom with a biblical inscription and a famous crack. It holds great significance as an icon of freedom and independence in America. Located across from Independence Hall on Independence Mall in Philadelphia, the bell offers a perfect view of the historic site. The importance of Independence Hall lies in its role as the location where the Declaration of Independence was signed, making it a crucial part of American history.
Recently visited iconic landmark of Philadelphia Great quick trip. A lot of information in an organized layout. Touched on a the little detail about the bell and it's history, not just the well know information. The staff are all relaxed and knowledgeable to answer any questions and give a little of background information when asked. Close up 360 view of the bell which is great for pictures and videos. You can also see the current bell and the tower that it's in right behind the liberty bell. Nice walking area surrounding to liberty bell museum. If you are in town or leave near by must visit once.

The birthplace of the United States Constitution, the Liberty Bell at the Independence Historical National Park is a fun way to spend a few hours exploring and learning more about our country’s history. Surrounded by 18th century architect, visitors can still enter the very same buildings where our founding fathers wrote and signed the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution, passed law, and came together as a nation.

This was one of the other items that I was blessed enough to check off my bucket list as well. I learned a lot about the history of the bell, as there is a indoor museum dedicated to it.

I didn't think I would like this museum as much as I did but it was surprisingly good. It's free admission, but there was a significant line to get through security. Once inside it's not that large, but the information and stories provided were excellent. I was amazed at how complete a history they gave, highlighting the contradictions of this symbol of freedom while systematically oppressing women and minorities in this country. It's also why I came in the first place, given how we're currently headed down the same path. It's more of a physical representation of our constant struggle for the fractured freedoms and liberty that we all strive for in America.

Independence National Historical Park is a sprawling 20-block area in the city, housing significant landmarks such as Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. The park has seen a steady increase in visitors, with plans to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in 2026. Notable projects for this milestone include restoring the First Bank of the United States and the Declaration House, where Thomas Jefferson penned the historic document.
The beginning of our country. To stand where our fore father's stood. Preserving the original buildings is amazing. 90% of the woodwork is original. It is just amazing and well worth to see where our country started. With only a few delagates from our 13 colonies could agree of how our country should be run and we live by it still today. Breath taking.

We had a really wonderful visit. The interpretive ranger staff are so thoughtful and knowledgeable. It is always wild to see this relatively modest place where so many of the roots of our country were planted. I love how we can both acknowledge the complicated humanity of our founders, appreciate the heart of it, and grow to do better. As someone on wheels, I also appreciated the access. The options were mostly obvious, and for the one spot a temporary ramp was needed it was up before I could blink. The whole area is thoughtful and well curated. Be careful though. I came here with my fifth grader who had just finished studying American History - and left with a full set of the foundational documents of our nation. 😳😂 You've been warned. (She has been updating me from the Bill of Rights regularly since then.)

Impressive. Fantastic space with many interesting artifacts and displays. Great combo ticket with the Museum of the American Revolution. Convenient Starbucks in the building. Interesting movie in the round got things off to a good start. Suffrage exhibit was really well done.
