One of the best Historical place to visit with family. My 14 & 7 years old loved the place and This .7 mile loop trail winds through a 34-acre Oak-Tulip-Hickory forest bordering a salt marsh and beach on Cold Spring Harbor. Highly recommended to visit Sagamore Hill National Historic Site.

Visited the historic home of President Theodore Roosevelt today! The house is not only a glimpse into his life, but the surrounding area is absolutely stunning. If you’re ever in the area, this is definitely a must-see

We took a driving tour of the north shore of Long Island and one of the main stops was Sagamore Hill. Just saw a great documentary on Teddy so we had to come here. Unfortunately the house was closed but we spent an hour walking around the house and property. Very nice setting. House is very large but not too fancy.

This was a place on my bucket list. The property is really nice. Since the government is closed we couldnt your the mansion or Museum on the property. They have nature walks on the property that was amazing that brings you to a long dock to the beach on Cold Springs Harbor. So much to see from a bygone era. One thing was disappointing was the lack of opulence being a very wealthy family. The other the lawns not mowed and no formal gardens. The lawn could be because of the government shutdown.

I recently visited Sagamore Hill and was thoroughly impressed it’s a perfect blend of history, nature, and peaceful reflection. Here’s what stood out: I loved touring the home of Theodore Roosevelt is a unique experience. The house is beautifully preserved and gives you a real sense of how Roosevelt worked and lived. I also enjoyed the nature trail which lead tit he water. It made me think of what our guide mentioned about how Rosevelt would take the children out on a walk midday as a break. I’m sure he would have walked this trial with them. It’s a short loop through oak-tulip forest, salt-marsh, and beach offers quiet beauty and wildlife sightings (deer, birds, etc.).  Parking was easy and there was plenty of space; the area doesn’t feel over-crowded, which allowed for a calm, enjoyable visit.  I appreciated how the site balances natural scenery with a rich meaningful history. Oh and don’t forget the museum, it’s full of great information and engaging. Loved it. Tips: Bring a snack or lunch: the picnic area is nice, but the on-site options are limited.  Wear comfortable shoes for the easy trail.  Reserve the guided house tours and plan your time accordingly. We didn’t have a reservation so we waiting for no shows. It was risky, but we were able to see the home thanks for a rainy day. One more tip, sit in the rockers in the porch and just let some time pass, it’s so peaceful. Sagamore Hill is a fantastic place to visit, It feels thoughtful, peaceful, and well maintained. I’d highly recommend a visit.

My kid (6yrs old) and I was reading the book “who was Theodore Roosevelt” and learnt he was from Oyster Bay, New York. One Sunday my son asked if we could visit Sagamore Hill to see Theodore Roosevelt’s house National Historic site. The drive to Sagamore Hills was breathtaking with beautiful fall colors in October. We reached the site around 5pm right before the sunset and the view from the house was beautiful. We took some pictures and our kids loved reading photographs about Theodore Roosevelt’s home and all the landscape around it. The place was well kept and very informative for kids to learn about some history about the site. It is a nice place to visit, explore and for trail walk.

Great experience at the Kykuit Highlights Tour. This tour is about 1.5 hours and covers the first floor of the estate and outside. There are other (longer) tours that include more of the estate if you like. All tours leave from the Visitor's Center. There is a large parking lot there...but there is also some overflow parking around the corner ii needed. The overflow lot is a short walk to the Visitor's Center. The center has a large shop with lots of gifts and souvenirs. There are also some snacks and bakery-items (coffee, tea, pastries) available for purchase. There are bathrooms and the ticketing area. You check in at the ticketing area and are given a hand band. A bus (very nice and comfy) will take the tour guests from the visitor's center to the estate...the ride is about 10 minutes. The tour guide will also be on the bus offering some information throughout the ride, including information on the structures and facilities within the larger estate as you pass those by. The tour itself was great...but I can see some may want to visit the other floors of the estate, which is only included in the longer tours. Lots of information throughout the tour. They do keep the schedule pretty tight though as I noticed our tour guide checking the schedule regularly to determine how much time to spend at each room. I understand this is crucial in order to accommodate the various timed tours but it does leave little room for asking questions and some of it felt a little rushed. Photography is ONLY permitted outside of the estate. You cannot take photos inside the estate. You are taken back to the visitor's center when the tour it completed. Overall I had a great visit. I would love to return to view some of the other offerings...such as the Philipsburg Manor. All staff I encountered were friendly and helpful.

This is a very good place to visit as it is a former summer retreat of John D. Rockefeller who was first American billionaire and the founder of Standard Oil. Well maintained and a great location with awesome views. However the "classic tour" does not let you see the whole house as the upstairs of the property is still private area owned by the Rockefeller family. The tour was about 2 hour and they took the group onto a bus ride from the ticket place to the Kykuit estate house.

The tour is quite extensive and the tour guide is knowledgeable about the Rockefeller family and the many many art pieces in the home and grounds. The tour includes first floor, massive grounds, basement art gallery, and carriage garages. Parking was at Phillipsburg mansion and then take a shuttle to the mansion. Be early as the shuttle does leave at the ticket time and it was quite busy.

We did the Grand tour. Our guide, Dana, was very knowledgeable about the house and gardens. It was a drizzly day so we didn't get as much outside but additional spots were added on the inside. There are a lot of stairs. It is always fascinating learning about people from the past.

We did the standard tour which is about two hours start to finish from the visitor center at Philipsburg manor. A few things to note: You CAN have water in a sealed container, but you may not drink it inside the house. All bags will be checked before entering the main house. Photography is only allowed outside of the house on the grounds. We’ve made it a habit to take our visiting family to historic estates we have yet to visit and this weekend it was Kykuit. While the house itself is impressive, it’s complimented by the various artworks and sculptures placed throughout inside and the grounds. The two hour tour gives you a nice tour of the main floor of the house, the main grounds, and the art galleries in the basement. Then, you get a peak inside the carriage house to view the collection of classic buggies, carriages, and cars. You start at Philipsburg Manor Visitor Center and they shuttle you to the house and back. There are several moments throughout the tour that offer spots to sit for those in need.

The Rockefeller mansion. Kykuit, is an estate to behold, the bus ride up from Sleepy Hollow is fun. The house is spectacular as are the grounds. The home has a variety of different tours, with different price points. I learnt so much from this tour: Stunning views, exquisite art work: it’s nice to learn about people who’ve built America. You have to buy tickets to see this place. I was amazed that the outdoor - an orange flams and railings were made by Tiffany. Very meticulously maintained. Loved the gift shop too.

I'm the president of a newly formed senior group called the Sandyston Legends. For our first group trip we choose The Pride of the Hudson river cruise. We were not disappointed. Besides the weather being perfect the cruise was so relaxing and informative. Everybody in our group had a great time. The staff was great. And a special thank you to Lynn for the arrangements. We will definitely be back and we'll spread the word to other groups in our area

What a fantastic 2 hour tour on the Hudson. We wanted something fun for our wedding guests to do that were in town the day before the big event. This was the perfect activity. The crew were exceptional and even sectioned off an area for our party to have privately, which made it great for dropping off our bags and enjoying the beautiful scenery. Also, they make a killer espresso coffee with a kick on board. Forget the mimosa and get the coffee drink. Thank you for an incredibly fun time!!!!!

This was a nice simple boat trip up the Hudson River, turn around by West Point and come back down. It’s a nice simple couple hours. There is a cash snack concession. The seating was spacious both upstairs and downstairs. The crew was attentive, and the captain was informative. The narration was automated and loud enough for even handicap people to hear. This trip allows you to see many historical houses and West Point. We definitely would do this again.

We went on the pride of Hudson as part of a two week vacation To the Rockland County area. This was a fantastic way to see all the places on the eastern west side of the Hudson that we have driven past for many years. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and you could tell they love their job. Love supporting local businesses like this

Yesterday was our 2nd time on the Pride of the Hudson. Our 1st time was in August 2021. It is a really nice 2hr cruise on the beautiful Hudson River. You get to see all of the historic sights & go down to West Point & back up again. The ship is always full so go early if you want a seat but we usually wind up standing to take pics & be out of the sun when my son needs to & so then we sit downstairs for a lil bit at a table, have some drinks(you can bring your own just not alcohol) & watch the views there while listening to the narrator. They sell snacks, hot dogs & every kind of liquor & beers. It is really a great time & we will probably go back again in a year or 2 again!

Took my sister for her birthday. Ride was the perfect duration and staff was awesome. We got the lunch add-on and the sandwiches were great. Loved the yummy coconut sorbet! Had such a blast💗

We chartered the Pride of the Hudson boat for our 45th Wedding Anniversary in October, and everyone had an absolutely splendid time! The captain and crew could not have been more welcoming and helpful to the large (90+) group on board, and went out of their way to make sure everyone was doing well. As you might have guessed, some of the folks in attendance were not as young as they used to be, but with the ramps on the dock and to the ship, along with able assistance from the staff, we all got on and off board safely. The weather cooperated and we had spectacular views of the fall foliage throughout the trip. I heartily recommend this company for anyone looking to have a wonderful time cruising on the Hudson!

Just did the sky rider tour with some of my friends, and we had an absolute blast. We got to go on 5 ziplines and walk over a really cool suspension bridge. It was during peak fall foliage, so the views were absolutely stunning. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable, engaging and fun! I would highly recommend booking a tour with them if you are in the area, you won’t be disappointed.

What a fun day! We did the full 3 hour tour with Sam, Luke and Bryan who made the whole experience a lot of fun. They were great guides and clearly love their jobs. The length of the tour definitely made it worth the price! Just be prepared to use your 'abs'.

Awesome time. We did the mid mountain tour for starters but definitely want to return for the skyrider. We had a ridiculous amount of rain and ended up completely saturated but it didn't stop the fun at all. I mean if you haven't ziplined down a mountain in the pouring rain, did you even Zipline? Such a fun time and the rain made us go faster 😂 our guides Brandon and Kincaid were awesome. We had a lot of laughs and fun during our experience. Looking forward to the skyrider in the future.

The zip lining was an absolute blast today, I would 10/10 recommend everyone go and enjoy themselves! The tour guides Zack, Nate and Dustin were hysterical and fun easing everyone's nerves, and really made the experience even that much more enjoyable. Can't wait to come back again someday!

Make sure you have a way to secure your phone and stuff. I forgot this and bought a Fanny pack-type-thing for $20. First time zip lining for my girls and me but we had a blast. Group size will be about 5-10. Guides are very patient and good about getting the little ones to take their first zip when they are 50 feet in the air. They don’t get frustrated if it takes more than 5 minutes for the kids to let go.

My wife and I went on the Skyrider Tour and love it! It was my second time here but my wife's first. Our guides Luke and Dakota were great and made the experience more enjoyable. I highly recommend trying this Excursion at least once, you won't be disappointed.

New York Zipline Adventures skyrider tour exceeded our expectations by far! It was such an amazing and fun experience, with incredible views of the mountain range! Coming mid-October was a great idea as the fall foliage was beautiful. One of the best parts was our guides. Tink, Dustin, and Dakota were so awesome, we felt very safe and in good hands! Not only were they very knowledgeable and experienced, but all three had the best personalities and told funny stories which made sure everyone in the group had a memorable time. I definitely want to go back again, and will be absolutely requesting the same guides.

We had the morning free before flying home and wanted to visit somewhere new to us. You could actually spend the whole day in this magnificent museum. It's structurally beautiful as well as having displays that are truly impressive. The Egyptian items were outstanding, the burial items, jewellery and finds took our breath away. The wall paintings on the burial building were spectacular. Also the photograph of the wooden replica boats all broken and then repaired and on display were incredible. They all had a black bob hairstyle! The Greek section was fabulous as was the Asian. The African panels on the ceiling, totem poles, tribal costumes and carvings were beautifully painted and definitely a favourite of ours. The Japanese garden was quiet and a place of calm and very much represented the culture. We had a quick stop at the cafe, the queue went down fairly quickly and people were constantly moving so tables became available. This museum turned into a highlight of our trip and I have already told friends to put it on their to do list when visiting New York.

⭐️ Incredible World-Class Museum in the Heart of NYC. I visited The Metropolitan Museum of Art and bought my ticket at the entrance. It was busy with tourists, but once you step inside the galleries the museum is so huge that the crowds spread out quickly. The exhibits are absolutely incredible — Egyptian mummies, sarcophagi, medieval knights, full suits of armor, ancient weapons, paintings, sculptures, musical instruments, and so much more. The collection is massive and honestly mind-blowing. At some point we were so tired from walking that we had to stop, because this place is endless. It really feels like stepping into ancient Egypt, medieval Europe, and world history all inside Manhattan. There are clean restrooms, plenty of places to rest, and a nice gift shop on the way out. A must-visit NYC museum. Highly recommended! 📸🇺🇸

I haven’t been to the MET ever since coming back from the army. I used to go all the time, especially when they would have new exhibits in the museum. What made me go in the first place was because I’m writing an essay on art for my art history class. I wanted to share so of the photos that I took on my journey.

Man Ray exhibit was fantastic. Ancient Egypt was also very cool. So big, impossible to see all in 1 visit. upstairs musical instruments room was awesome and the armor and swords too. loved the big open natural light room where the Egyptian tomb was. Really great place.

The Met in NYC is one of those rare places that somehow exceeds the hype. The moment you walk in, you feel the weight of history, culture, and artistry from every corner of the world. The collection is massive — truly something for everyone — but it never feels overwhelming. Every gallery is intentional, beautifully curated, and full of details that pull you in. What I appreciated most was how easy it was to get lost in time. One minute you’re in ancient Egypt, the next you’re staring at a Van Gogh that stops you in your tracks. The staff is friendly, the layout is intuitive, and the entire experience feels like stepping into a different world for a few hours. If you’re in NYC, this is a non-negotiable stop. It’s not just a museum — it’s an experience you carry with you long after you leave.

Carved out 3 hours and still barely got through maybe a half(if even that) of the museum. The staff there was great and the student discount of 17$ was pretty great, and I think it’s awesome that New York residents and local students only pay if they want to, that’s a cool perk. One thing is, at times it definitely felt like a maze getting through the galleries.

Central Park in the Fall — Absolutely Magical! Visiting Central Park in autumn was better than I ever imagined. The colors, the crisp air, the skyline peeking through the trees — it felt straight out of a movie, only real. The park is wonderfully kid-friendly and dog-friendly, full of families, friendly faces, and space to explore. From the winding paths to the shimmering ponds and quiet lakes, every corner is breathtaking. The city views are stunning, and everyone we met was kind and welcoming. Truly one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I’ve ever experienced.

Central Park is the most beautiful place in New York! Perfect for photoshoots, horse rides, and boating on the lake. It’s also one of the best romantic spots for a date. Everywhere you go, you can hear live music, which adds such a magical atmosphere. I love visiting in any season — spring with blooming trees and fall with falling leaves are my favorites. A truly unique place you can’t find anywhere else in the world!

Central Park is an incredible place — a true green oasis in the heart of New York City’s concrete jungle. It surrounds you with peace and nature, making you forget you’re in one of the busiest cities in the world. Perfect for a walk, a picnic, or simply to sit and breathe in the calm beauty of the park.

After the watching the 'Stranger Things: The First Shadow' Broadway show at the Marquis Theatre on W46th St & 7th Ave, we walked the 0.7 miles up 7th Ave to the Central Park entrance at W59th St where I had my first NYC Hotdog from the Nathan's Hotdog stand. It was very tasty if a tad small for $6. We only walked in a very small section of the vast 843 acres, 2.5 miles long and 0.5 miles wide park, from the W59th St & 7Ave entrance to the Model Sailing Boat Lake and could have spent several days explore the different sections of this vast beautiful space, which is enjoyed daily by some many local New Yorkers and tourists. There were lots of people relaxing on the grass, walking, jogging, running, cycling & rollerblading through the park, together with rickshaws and horse drawn carriages carrying their passengers on the one directional circular road running around inside the park. We stopped off at the Le Pain Quotidien kiosk next to the Model Boating Lake for hot drinks & pastries at one of the tables, enjoying the late evening sunshine whilst watching people going by and children sailing their rented remote controlled model boats in the lake. There are public male & female toilets either side of the kiosk and a table service section for a selection of food & drinks. It wasn't too busy when we were there around 6pm on a Saturday evening and it was the perfect place to sit down, take a break, relax and watch the world go by in Central Park whilst enjoying a drink. We were fortunate to be there to listen to the famous Central Park guitar man, David Ippolito, playing some beautiful guitar music from across the boating lake opposite our table, in his regular Saturday slot. On our walk to the Model Boating Lake we passed the 1,800 seat open air Delacorte amphitheater inside the park, where free public shows of Shakespeare's 'Twelfth Night' were being performed. My wife is a big fan of Shakespeare's plays and would have loved to have gone to see the play. However, as the vast majority of tickets were allocated via lottery to NYC residents we would have had to queue up in person in a standby line outside the theatre on the day, in the hope of getting one of these few ticket allocations and I didn't like Shakespeare enough to do that. As it was such beautiful warm late summer we decided to walk the 2.2 miles down Lexington Ave, from the park at 74th St down to our hotel at 36th St. Although it took a lot longer than taking the subway we really enjoyed seeing more of the city on foot.

I had never seen such a huge park in the city area. Spread across 800+ acres, this park has a lot of beautiful places to visit. We went to Bethesda terrace as our first spot here and it’s really worth visiting. Great spots to visit, sit, relax, run and click pictures. Loved the bow bridge. Must visit and highly recommended.

Central Park is absolutely beautiful !!! it’s hard to believe a place this big and peaceful exists right in the middle of the city. I loved exploring Belvedere Castle and Bethesda Fountain, and seeing all the iconic spots in person felt so special. Such a perfect place to just wander, relax, and take in the city from a completely different perspective.

Finally, on my 5th trip to NYC we did Rockafella Centre instead of Empire State. What a great experience. Great views of the NYC skyline which includes the Empire State. The Beam was so worth it as well. Great views out towards Central Park. Could have stayed up there for even more hours. Nice little cafe/bar with terrace area to sit and chill while admiring the views.

We visited Top of the Rock and were absolutely amazed! The view of New York is stunning — especially the Empire State Building and the Manhattan skyline. The entry was quick and well-organized with minimal waiting time. It’s a perfect spot to enjoy the city vibe, take incredible photos, and soak in the views. Definitely recommend it to anyone visiting New York for the first time!

Visiting Top of the Rock was such an incredible experience! The views of New York City are absolutely breathtaking. The elevators are fast and the observation decks are very well organized, making it easy to enjoy the sights without feeling crowded. Definitely a must-visit

Top of the Rock was fantastic — much quieter than the Empire State Building, which made the experience way more enjoyable. The views to the north are incredible, especially over Central Park. You also get a perfect view of the Empire State Building, which you obviously can’t get if you’re standing on it! Highly recommend going around sunset for the best light.

Even in drizzling rain this was an enjoyable experience. We actually really like the foggy photos we got too! One of the cheaper birds eye view options with two different tourist photo opportunities. Though I usually find those to be cheesy, if it wasn't raining during our trip I could see their unique recreation of the iconic construction photo snapped during the building of the rockafeller center could be super cute/fun and very New York specific, and I may have considered it in better weather.

Loved Top of the Rock! The views are incredible even though you’re not the tallest building in the city. Took almost no time to enter even though it was pretty busy being right around dusk. The night views are the best. Definitely do this on your trip to NYC.

A truly unforgettable experience! The views from the Top of the Rock are absolutely stunning — you can see all of Manhattan and Central Park in one perfect panorama. Going for a walk early in the morning feels refreshing and leisurely. The display boards might be more visible if it were a bit darker… but I still prefer the time when daylight is just beginning to break. Even in the early morning, there are a variety of food options like hot dogs and corn dogs.

We finally visited the iconic Times Square and whatever I had heard before about this is not an exaggeration. The vibe, atmosphere and the electronic billboards make this place a very happening one. Lots of shops and eateries near this place. A great crowd every time you visit. But at night after sunset this place becomes more awesome. Must visit and multiple visits are my recommendation.

Even having visited before, I have never felt the city pulse so vibrantly — the crowds, the colors, the laughter, and the chaos all weaving together into a living tapestry that is uniquely New York. Every street, every screen, every flicker of neon seemed to tell a story, inviting you to pause, to watch, and to feel part of something larger than yourself. There’s a rhythm here, a heartbeat of the city that never sleeps, and on this night, it was louder, wilder, and more exhilarating than ever. Walking through the throngs, catching glimpses of costumes and celebration, and capturing these moments in photos and video made me appreciate the magic of New York in a way words can barely capture. Times Square is not just a place — it’s an experience, a living, breathing canvas of human energy and creativity. Halloween night 2025 will forever remain vivid in my memory as one of the city’s most unforgettable moments.

This is nyc the busiest city in the USA. I love and hate this area at the same time but mostly I love it because the shows are nearby and you can get reduced prices if you wait online and so many food, places and historical places and even the US armed horses recruiting services center and you should definitely walk this area and not drive because you will be stuck in traffic During the day. Enjoy!

Times Square is always an incredible place to be. There’s an energy there that you really can’t find anywhere else. From the street art and performers to the endless flow of people from all over the world, it feels alive every hour of the day. Visiting during the day and coming back at night gives you two completely different experiences. Daytime is vibrant and busy, while nighttime transforms the whole area with bright lights, massive screens, and a unique atmosphere you have to see for yourself. It’s definitely a must-visit spot every time I’m in the city.

We kinda spur of the moment decided to do this, while in NY. So didn't buy tickets in advance, although it wasn't difficult to do so there, as they had computer ordering systems on site to use, we would have been able to see and realize that there is a price difference amongst the different "time slots" and that entry times are set every 15-30mins apart. There is thorough security to get in, and lots of staff around as well. The place was clean, and spacious. The history on your way through was very interesting. The view from the top was really good, we paid extra to go to the 101 floor. And although it wasn't a huge difference from the view of the 85th floor, I'm glad we did it. Defiently recommend visiting the observation deck of the empire state building atleast once. We went up during daylight hours, so I may, someday come back for a night view.

Go see it, you won't regret the time you spend exploring this iconic building. We're from NZ, so this was a bucket list visit and I loved everything about the museum walkthrough, old footage and experiential stuff. Views are phenomenal, breath taking even on a good day like we had. We just looked and looked at the vast expanse of this city and didn't want to leave. So much NY history in the one place, it's worth the entry fee for sure. If you are remotely interested in the Empire State Building you'll love it.

From the 86th floor, the city lights stretch in every direction—Times Square glows, traffic forms ribbons of color, and the skyline looks its best after dark. Crowds are lighter at night, so it’s easier to enjoy the view and take photos without rushing. Overall, the nighttime atmosphere feels calm and memorable. If you want a classic view of Manhattan with less daytime noise, this visit is worth it.

I chose the ESB over the Rock and other viewing platforms for it's historical significance. Built in 1931, in one year and 45 days, featured in many famous movies and recognized around the world. It even has it's own zip code! My first time in NYC so definitely had to go all the way up to the 102nd floor which is completely enclosed so good for cold weather! But you have great views from the 86th floor also which is open air and enclosed. Reservations are required and earlier is less busy.

I found the 86th floor to be pretty adequate for photos.I didn't see a point to go all the way to the top, To be honest. The views are pretty spectacular.You get to take photos from both the eightieth floor and then open air eighty sixth floor. There's lots of museum and stuff to look through before you get up to the elevators, you can either look at it or skip it.It's up to you. Then, at the end, of course, there's a gift shop. I would highly recommend this. I would probably recommend it over some of the other tall buildings because of the history surrounding this one. And it's pretty centrally located, so you can see everything from the eighty sixth floor.

I must say, this is the most magical place on earth, if you go to New York, this is a must. The prices of the tickets are affordable and the experience makes you feel like you’re on top of the world. We went in the evening and seeing the lights of New York was magical. It bought the city to life. The staff were really friendly and the museum part was interesting as it taught you about the Empire State building. Will definitely come back and visit.

One of the great things about traveling to any city is obviously the people that you meet. In my brief visits to New York, though, I've found it difficult to meet and to engage with local folks. On Nov. 12, 2025, I woke up in the morning thinking about how cool it would be to make one great human connection that day. I whispered to the Universe that I’d like that kind of encounter – a chance to get to know the real New York. It turned out that I had been looking for such a connection in the wrong place because I wasn't looking up. That's when my wife (Won-ok) and I decided to tour the Empire State Building. That was one of the things that was on my life bucket list, something that is a quintessentially American experience. When we made it to one of the lookout areas, a very kind woman named Renita greeted us with such warmth that it was overwhelming. Some people just radiate goodness and kindness, and spending time with Renita was the only time that trip that we felt the sun. My aunt happens to have the same name so the name struck a particular chord with me. Renita asked if there is anything that we would like to know. I was a little embarrassed by how little I know about the city. Renita Immediately helped me overcome my sheepishness and began answering questions from me and Won-ok. It didn't take long for one thing to lead to another and for the three of us to find ourselves in a deep, soulful conversation. Renita told us she has been working at the building for many decades. A native New Yorker, she saw the World Trade Center go up – and she witnessed the horror of the towers going down. I learned more about the history and spirit of New York in the moments I spent with her than I did on the entire rest of my trips there combined. Renita is a credit to the Empire State Building and to the city of New York. My wife and I saw a lot of amazing things on that trip but the experience that made the greatest impact on us was Renita -- New York’s ambassador in the sky.

A wonderful use of old elevated train tracks turned into beautiful greenery in the middle of the city. So many different kinds of vegetation and lots of great art to see along the way. We walked about 2 miles of it from The Edge down to Chelsea Market.

The High Line is one of the most unique and enjoyable outdoor experiences in New York City. Built on an elevated historic rail line, it offers a peaceful walkway above the busy streets, with great views of the city and plenty of greenery along the way. It’s a perfect place for a stroll, whether you’re looking to take photos, enjoy the art installations, or just relax in a quieter space. The mix of plants, architecture, and open views of the Hudson River makes it feel both urban and calming at the same time. Depending on how fast you walk, you can explore the whole thing in about 30–60 minutes, making it a great stop that doesn’t take up your whole day. It can get crowded during peak hours, but it’s still a lovely experience overall. A must-visit if you’re in the city and want something scenic, relaxing, and completely free. Lovely for an autumn walk and lots of great photo opportunities. Clean bathrooms. Lots of city views. Surrounded by buildings with unique architecture. Lots of benches and viewing areas, including one where you can watch traffic. Landscaping and sculptures.

This walk is so nice, it's hard to believe it's free (privately funded, donations accepted). We stopped for several minutes to listen to a mockingbird perform his concert! Super clean bathrooms, and there are no pets allowed, so with all the plants, it smells nice too. Not too crowded on weekdays.

The Experience: This is a fantastic spot for a nice walking experience above the city streets. It offers a unique perspective of Manhattan and serves as a great path to get to Hudson Yards, offering a perfect, looming view of The Edge as you approach. Accessibility Note: Be mindful of where you enter. I found the stairs to be very steep at the access point I used. If you have heavy bags or mobility issues, you definitely want to double-check the map for elevator access beforehand, as the stairs can be a workout. Verdict: Despite the climb up, I thoroughly enjoyed the walk. It’s a refreshing break from the traffic below.

A unique and beautiful walkway throughout New York City. From Hudson yards to Little Island, an extraordinary yet calm walkway above the streets. And offer a serene and calm experience. Would highly recommend.

This might be the best urban park that I've ever visited! What a great way to meander through the Chelsea neighbourhood with some elevated views of New York City. I imagine it can get extremely busy on a nice day, but its certainly work checking out if you're in the area. Lots of little pockets of space if you want some privacy from all the folks out for a walk.

Woodbury Common Premium Outlets is a shopping paradise for anyone who loves top brands at great prices. The variety of stores is incredible—luxury designers, sportswear, home goods, and everything in between. The discounts are genuine, and with a little patience, you can find some amazing deals. The outlet itself is beautifully designed with an open-air village-style layout, making it enjoyable to stroll around. There are plenty of dining options and rest areas, which make long shopping days much more comfortable. Parking is extensive, though it can get busy on weekends and holidays, so it’s best to come early. It’s worth setting aside a full day here because there’s so much to explore. For visitors from New York City, the shuttle buses are very convenient. Overall, an excellent destination for serious shoppers.

If you’re in New York and you’re into shopping, this is the place to be. A return ticket is $45 via a bus and gets you access to most of the clothing and apparel big name brands. Their foodcourt is also spacious and serves great food. I’d recommend taking the 8:30am departure from NY and 3pm back from Woodbury to avoid traffic. Trip each ways is just over an hour.

I was here for the annual Brest Cancer Awareness Day and this is one of the coolest malls I’ve seen. They have many of my favorite stores/brands. I definitely enjoyed shopping around after the Brest Cancer Walk. If you’re into luxury brands, you should definitely check it out!

The outdoor setting made it feel more like a relaxing day trip than a shopping spree, with plenty of places to sit and enjoy the sunshine. The food options were also a nice surprise, with a good mix of quick bites and sit-down spots. Overall, it was a perfect shopping experience, made even better by the gorgeous weather. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun day of deals and sunshine!

Smashing place! You need to come here with your won trolley else you might end up buying one. You need patience to look through at the Nike or Lululemon store. The Coach and Michael Kors are all pretty neatly managed. I was in awe of some of the offers on display. The Brooks Brothers store was another lovely place. Clear with their offers as always.

I had an amazing experience shopping at Woodbury outlet stores. The collection is amazing and the discounts are unbelievable. It’s one of a kind experience and one must shop from these outlets. Luxury brands like Gucci, Ferragamo, Valentino, Burberry, have many options to choose from! I am coming again to shop my heart out.

First timer ! It’s a couple of hours drive for us and visited this as many of my friends suggested this place. The parking is a bit tight and I had to pay about $12 to get a premium parking … lots and lots of good shops and showroom here, but it is pricey. The best part about this outlet is the food court even within the food court. The food is pretty expensive.. I have been to Jackson premium outlets and Jersey Garden malls and this Woodbury outlet is the most expensive out of all three .. Adidas Nike showrooms were good, but not much of discounts. Lots of other shops like Kipling , polo Ralph Lauren etc .. the stuff is good but again , it looks like they UP’d the price and then give us discounts ! Overall an average premium outlet mall. 3 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️

This exhibit was amazing! Getting to see history. I was in the 6th grade when this event took place and just seeing it now from a different perspective as an adult just hits different. I'll share some photos that I have taken but it is 100% worth the visit. It just opens up so many more questions about where we are now against where we may have been. It also questions perspectives on mindsets these days but I will not get into that here. This place was awesome and I would definitely love to go back during another visit to NY.

Visiting the 9/11 Memorial is an experience that stays with you long after you leave. I first came to New York in 2000, just a year before the tragic events that would forever change the skyline. Back then, the Twin Towers stood tall and proud, dominating the horizon. I remember looking up at them in awe, thinking about how massive and permanent they seemed — like nothing could ever topple them. At the time, I could never have imagined that I would one day return to the same spot and find that the buildings were gone. When I came back years later to visit the memorial, the feeling was surreal. The area where the towers once stood is now a place of quiet reflection, marked by the enormous, cascading pools set within the footprints of the original buildings. Water flows continuously, creating a soft, mournful sound, while the names of the victims are engraved around the edges. Standing there, it’s impossible not to feel the weight of history, loss, and resilience. The emptiness where the towers once reached toward the sky is both haunting and profoundly moving. Walking around the memorial, I was struck by the contrast between what I remembered and what I saw now. The city has moved forward, new buildings rise around the site, and life in Manhattan continues its relentless pace. Yet the memorial holds a stillness that makes time feel suspended. Every detail — from the endless water, to the engraved names, to the subtle landscaping — is designed to honor what was lost while reminding visitors of the strength and perseverance of those who survived, and the courage of those who came after. Being there, I couldn’t help but reflect on the impermanence of even the most monumental structures. The towers seemed unshakable in my memory, but tragedy and time proved otherwise. The memorial doesn’t try to replace them; it doesn’t try to replicate what was lost. Instead, it invites visitors to pause, remember, and honor. It’s both humbling and healing, a space where grief and respect coexist in a quiet, powerful way. Visiting the 9/11 Memorial is an emotional journey. You leave with a deeper understanding of loss, resilience, and the fragility of even the mightiest human creations. Coming back to a place I once knew so differently, seeing the towers replaced by pools of reflection, reminded me that memory and history are alive — and that remembrance is as important as rebuilding.

Wow wow wow. Months behind on leaving this review, but wanted to be sure to encourage others to visit. This was such a well thought out memorial and museum. Very thorough and respectful to those who perished. It is very moving. To be in the space, looking at the foundation, the energy was palpable. This was agreed way to honor those souls and those who lost their lives saving others. Incredible.

One of the very best museums I've ever been to. Very comprehensive displays tastefully done. Recommend ordering tickets ahead of time for early morning to beat the crowds. Some time slots sell out. The audio device is also highly recommended.

Buy tickets in advance. Allow more time than the recommended 60-90 mins, especially if you are old enough to remember where you were when you heard the news or saw it unfold. Highly moving exhibits bring the victims front and center of your visit, making the experience all the more personal and emotional. Be prepared. However, it is an experience I highly recommend. Those who forget history are bound to repeat it, and this is an event we should never forget.

This museum was the main thing I wanted to do when I visited New York for the first time. Buying my ticket and getting into the museum was easy and organized. The exhibits were well done and organized in a timeline that was easy to follow. There were plenty of staff members to direct people and answer questions as well as a self guided audio tour that was available for purchase. This was a moving experience and I would recommend this to anyone who is able to visit.

This park is beautiful, it has a lake and waterfalls and multiple easy trails to walk. It also has a small beach with a lifeguard where you can swim. There is also an area for kayaking. The only thing I did not like, was the area for long distance swimmers, there is a sign that states “only members can swim”, however it doesn’t say you can’t walk in that area. My husband and I walked there and a crazy “Karen” wanted us to get out and go back to the trail. We were admiring the lake and walking and not bothering anyone. It really did not make any sense, needless to say I stayed longer just to make her enjoy her day 😂 even more, some people just act entitled and I will put them in their place if needed, but it’s not the park’s fault. After all, it is a park, and people should be allowed to explore unless otherwise posted. Aside from this incident, I would recommend this park, you will need a few visits to see everything! Also the visitor’s center staff are very friendly and helpful.

Minnewaska State Park is honestly one of my favorite places to just get away and chill. The views are unreal—think cliffs, lakes, waterfalls, and endless trees. I love hiking the trails here; every turn feels like a new adventure, and the air is so fresh. Whether I’m hanging out by the lake, snapping photos, or just taking in the scenery, it’s always super relaxing. It’s the kind of spot where you can totally unplug and just enjoy nature. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape with awesome views, you’ve gotta check this place out!

Hands-on most beautiful state park in New York has preserved the legacy of park’s founders Smiley brothers by maintaining the carriage roads and trails in excellent state. My favorite loop is to follow Castle road to Lake Awosting and return back via Hamilton road back to Minnewasca lake. Very scenic views that don’t require serious hiking effort, just slight inclines and declines. Natural beauty of Shawangunk Mountains here is supplemented by road building prowess of preserve’s founders and is the reason that we still have the park available now to thousands of daily visitors at a modest fee. Many grand historic hotels of Catskills don’t exist anymore including burnt out Cliff House and Windmere hotels previously located at shores of Lake Minnewasca till 1970s, so really glad that conservation efforts have succeeded here. New visitor center and expansive parking lots are huge improvement over park’s facilities of just six years ago.

Visited: Friday, October 24, 2025 I hiked the Castle Point Loop starting from the Upper Parking Lot. The parking lot was spacious and not crowded — definitely past the peak season — and parking was $10. The weather was a bit chilly, but the fall colors were still beautiful. At first, I took the UA trail toward Castle Point, but it was mostly gravel and not very exciting. Later I switched to the BR trail, which was better, though I hardly saw anyone the entire time — maybe fewer than five people total. The hike itself felt a bit monotonous; even on the way down, it was just gravel again, so I ended up jogging down. I remembered Gertrude’s Nose being much more interesting and scenic in comparison. I stopped by the Falls at the end, but honestly, it wasn’t something I’d go out of my way to see again. Overall, it’s a decent hike for solitude and views, but not one I’d rush to repeat — especially considering it takes around 5 hours round trip.

Oh, it's so lovely. I come down from the north, and seeing the beautifully colored autumn leaves is especially a big treat. The most basic trail around the large lake in the park is perfect for couples to come and take a light, short walk. Of course, the surrounding scenery is beautiful, needless to say. If you've done a lot of hiking, there are courses suited to different abilities, so it would be great to experience them together. The view of the park from above is truly breathtaking. The visitor center is clean, and the staff are very friendly. Even though I visited on a cloudy day, I highly recommend it to anyone nearby or within a 1-2 hour drive!

There is a lot of canopy for shade but there wasn't a lot of water coming over the falls. It was like a clogged shower head. You need to come after a rain storm. Over all it was nice, quiet, and not crowded. You can hear the sound of silence, and nature.

One of our favorite park for years. You can hike. We love trail bike riding here with the family. The views are spectacular! Worth the uphill ride. No camera can capture its actual beauty. And we love what we call “the secret lake” - Lake Awosting since it’s in the middle of seemingly nowhere. Surrounded by hills and trees. Not always open so check before you go. Perfect full day activity. Bring snacks. Every ridges and valley points are worth stopping to just soak in all that grandeur nature has to offer! Please make sure to take your trash with you as you go to preserve its beauty.

Zoos provide an amazing chance to connect with wildlife that we otherwise wouldn’t be able to see without traveling across the world. Most of them do their best to provide habitats that give animals humane treatment and a safe place to roam with as much space as possible. Designed as part of the South Mountain Reservation located in West Orange on just 20 acres, Turtle Back Zoo is managed as part of the Essex County Park System. Tickets were easily gotten by visiting their website for a Saturday visit. Upon arrival as first-timers, parking was well organized and free. The zoo is not huge, but there is a decent amount of walking, so if one goes, be sure to wear comfy shoes. Water misters were set up throughout the park to help cool off on hot days. It’s recommended to start at the top of the zoo or top of the hill and work your way down. There were plenty of interesting animals to see from all continents except Antarctica, such as flamingos, condors, bald eagles, penguins, giraffes, etc. Seasonal exhibits (butterfly and bird tents) require an additional fee. They have a touch tank featuring stingrays. My partner and I stopped by Savanna Cafe for lunch (no outside food allowed inside). The food varies from burgers, hot dogs, pizza, sandwiches, and chicken tenders to salads and ice cream. We decided on chicken sandwiches, fries, onion rings, ice cream, and water. It was decent, served its purpose, but was pricey. This is a must-take fun for any age classic New Jersey day trip, which we can recommend.

Had a fantastic time at the turtle back zoo!!! i went with my brother. we hadn’t been since we were little children and it was so much fun to rediscover the zoo as adults. i recommend getting there early, parking was free and we drove right in. no lines! which was fantastic. they had lots of different areas to see and it was a great time overall. a lovely day activity for any animal lovers.

You cannot beat the price per person on a weekend to enter this Very nice zoo! Stop by if you love animals and take a look at all the beautiful wildlife that lives here !! The zoo is very clean and the staff is so helpful and kind , consistently walking around the property to make sure the animals are good and the customers have any questions or concerns there is always a staff member near by , you can also pet and feed the cownose stingrays which is very cool! I highly recommend stopping in to this amazing zoo!

Great zoo! Parked in their garage for free. The animals were beautiful, and the design of the facility and habitats is very impressive. Very kid and stroller friendly. The staff we came upon throughout the park were very nice and friendly. The kids burned some energy at the cool prehistoric playground. Definitely looking forward to coming back!

Had a wonderful time! Just don't go during afternoon in the summer. Most animals would be taking a nap or hiding in the shade to cope with the afternoon heat. Make sure you have water with you, you also need to cope with the walking and afternoon heat. A lot of folks brought outside food and snacks, which I thought was a great idea as there's not many options. Not as many exhibits or diversity as Bronx zoo but still very lovely, less crowded and charming. My favorite was the Giraffe and red panda exhibit. You can also feel the giraffe and the birds for couple extra bucks, if you choose to.

I made my second trip back to Turtle Back Zoo recently after quite a long break, and it was a mix of nostalgia and new discoveries. The layout has expanded, and there’s definitely more to see but also more walking! Each themed area feels like its own little world, which makes the journey between them fun, even if your feet start to protest by the end. I remembered the peacocks roaming freely last time, so it was a bit surprising not to see them this time around. Still, the variety of animals is impressive from big cats to reptiles. Depending on the weather, a lot of them were lounging in the shade, which made spotting them a bit tricky. One of the highlights was feeding the giraffes such a cool, up close moment that made the visit feel extra special. There are also plenty of spots to grab snacks, rest, and take photos, which came in handy since I was snapping way more pictures this time. Whether you're going with family, friends, or just looking for a peaceful day outdoors, Turtle Back Zoo offers a great mix of education, entertainment, and nature. It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely worth the visit especially if you haven’t been in a while.

I have the luxury of homeschooling my daughter and so we invested in the yearly membership for the zoo so we can come every single week. We love the train, feeding the stingrays and watching keepers doing animal feedings. The staff is always knowledgeable and friendly. They genuinely seem excited talking about what they do and it feels great knowing the people taking care of the animals love what they do. The new vet building is totally amazing if you’re able to catch it while they are caring for animals. We were able to watch check ups being performed on baby emus, it was so cool!

I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the Mountain Creek chairlift team. On September 13, while photographing a wedding, I accidentally left my camera at the top of the mountain. The lift was scheduled to close at 6:00 PM, but the staff kindly stayed with me and waited until the last team member at the summit located my camera and brought it down. I’m deeply grateful for their patience, professionalism, and kindness. Thank you so much!

I’m really disappointed with Mountain Creek’s lift ride operation. They closed the line 30 minutes before the posted closing time, saying the line was already too long — yet they were still selling tickets just minutes before closing the line! That’s completely unfair and misleading. It feels like they just care about making sales, not about giving guests the experience they paid for. The staff didn’t communicate properly, didn’t apologize, and didn’t offer any options for people who bought tickets but couldn’t even line up. If they know the line gets long, they should stop selling tickets earlier or use time slots to manage the crowd properly — not punish guests who show up on time. It's not our problem that everyone wants to ride during sunset. That should be a management problem!! This was very disappointing and showed how poor the customer service and organization really are. Never again! Waste of money!

We went to Mountain Creek for the fall fest. The event was packed the weather was perfect and the ride up the lift was great. It was cool watching the mountain biking on the trail from the lift. The only issue i had was the food and drink situation. They did the best they could, but clearly not prepared for the mass of people that came. Luckily the burger was delicious and saved the afternoon. Overall happy, good atmosphere, food, games, music and friendly staff.

Great bike park! Employees were pleasant and helpful. Prices were reasonable. The lift took a couple tries to perfect loading the bikes but after that it was easy. We visited during Octoberfest and it was good and bad. Very busy, but lots of entertainment and food options. The trails ranged from mild to wild. I liked that there were technical trails as well as flow. The trails were a little washed out but not too bad considering it was the end of the season. Overall it was a great experience and we plan on returning!

Came here November 2nd for the 3rd annual fall fest weekend. I got the sky ride ticket for $16.78. I really wanted to try the adventure package but it was already sold out by the time I got ready to purchase. In my honest opinion the Fall Fest is NOT WORTH IT! Especially if it would be quite a drive for you. The drive for me was about 1 hour and 30 minutes and I don’t think the experience was worth the drive. I honestly feel like the IG reels and TikTok videos I’ve seen of the Fall fest overhyped it and made it look better than it really was. In my opinion it was hectic because there were bikers all over the place which is fair because the fall fest and the bike trail is a shared space. I think they should have called this BIKER FEST you literally have to watch out because the bikers just zoom by. I did get to go on the sky ride which was nice and the scenery was beautiful. But, was it worth coming to the fall fest and purchasing a ticket just to do that…… NO. If you are looking for a Fall experience/farm experience in Vernon, NJ I recommend Heaven Hill Farm which is literally 9 minutes from mountain creek. Now that gave me the vibe I was looking for. I didn’t get to explore it fully because it was close to closing time but I did check out their Farmers Market and their cider donuts were tasty. Anyways, maybe I will be back to mountain creek but probably not for their Fall Fest. I will say that the staff at mountain creek were friendly, I got some cool photos, and I got to spend time with family and friends so that is a plus.

Here already for fall fest and its overly crowded. No one working so it’s unclear if parking is paid/unpaid. Food vendor area is disorganized. Not clear what each line is for (1 for ordering, 1 for pickup, but no rhyme or rhtym to tell you when your order is ready). Took an hour to get our food alone. Do not waste your money on this. Did not go on gondola or coaster due to long lines (1 hour at least). Not a good experience and am requesting a refund. If I’m driving 2 hours from NYC for foliage, better to go upstate to the Catskills than this overhyped crapshow Also, while we were prepared for bugs and nature, we did not anticipate the insane amount of yellow jackets near the food area Update 24 hours after emailing them (and before they responded below): Got a general message they’re looking into it. To be clear, this was one of the worst travel experiences I’ve ever had. We did not even have enough time to redeem the tickets we bought due to the long lines. Sadly, I do not have confidence they’ll make it right and strongly feel this place is a cash grab. We do not plan to ever come back and encourage others to avoid. Go over to warwick, ny and go apple picking, or just go up to The Catskills Update 3 days later: After a bit of pushing via email, we got a long empathetic apology from the owner who refunded us. His leadership was greatly appreciated, and hopefully the resort takes the right steps to fix this. Owner invited us back and offered some perks upon our return, but we likely will not come back given the lines issue seems to be an ongoing issue. We hope the resort will improve over time.

For boarding- if you get the lowest access pass. You have to walk a long distance with your gear. But worth the day pass and season as you get to ride on two mountains. Go on T,W,Thursday to skip crowd. The location is good had Taco Bell and local bean cafe if you want to skip out on $20 food in the lodge

My wife and I grew up in the Woodstock generation. We weren't in the crowd of over 450,000 hippies but in the movies and music that came from those historic 3 days, we finally got there to see hallowed grounds and a great museum. Go there and understand the times and the music that brought so many people together in peace. Special thanks to Duke Devlin.

A gem of a stop. Step back in history, and learn about iconic Woodstock. The exhibits are well planned and capture the magnitude of cultural impact this music festival had. We were in a time crunch, so we had to rush through. I would plan and give yourself at least two hours to fully enjoy. Price for entry very reasonable.

This was such an awesome experience! I was too young to go to the original Woodstock, but I’ve always fantasized about being there as an adult. It took me a while, but I finally made it — and wow, it gave me chills! The grounds are beautiful, peaceful, and full of history. You can almost feel the energy of those 450,000 people who came together for peace, love, and music. The museum is fantastic — filled with stories, photos, and memories from that legendary time. If you ever get the chance, go! It’s not just a place, it’s a feeling. A walk through history that still radiates good vibes. ✌️💛🎶

Beautiful building and grounds. We had sandwiches at the Cafe before touring the museum. There was so much to read, and see. We watched some videos, viewed the memorabilia, listened to music, visited the gift shop. Came back later in the evening for the last night of the Peace, Love and Pumpkins Festival. What a great event! There were local vendors, a drone show, a very nicely decorated path, fire pits, food options. All the staff was terrific.

The building is nice. The grounds are nice BUT the Woodstock Exhibit leaves a lot to be desired. Basically its frames of the movie documentary blown up in parts and spread out throughout the Hall and its extremely grainy to booth. Maybe the younger generation might enjoy it because I doubt they've seen the movie. For everyone else from that ERA its a bust. Not to mention your paying a pretty penny to get in lol. Took me all of 5 minutes and $23.00. Decide for yourself :)

Awesome museum and grounds. Very knowledgeable staff, a few of them actually attended Woodstock in 1969. Movies were informative, lots of photos of bands that played at Woodstock. We also went to a peace, Love & Pumpkins. It was a Halloween experience of lighted up trails over 400 carved pumpkins and ghosts and ghouls. It is advertised as scary but it wasn’t. Still had a great time there was a band playing in enclosed pavilion, lots of vendors, food and drinks available for purchase. We spent the night on site in their campground. We stayed in the glamping area. Would love to come back next year for some of their summer concerts.

As a child of the 60s I had a pilgramage here on my "bucket list", which I fulfilled in October '25. The museum didn't disappoint. In addition to the expected Woodstock festival history and artifacts they do a nice job of the history of the era, e.g., political climate, race relations, Vietnam, etc. They also have a nice selection of videos of the concert and related topics. The monument overlooking and marking the concert field is half mile from the museum. There is a cafe on site selling breakfast and lunch items, beer and wine. Well worth a day outing.

Beautiful grounds. The inside of the house was breathtaking and worth the cost. The informative video in the bait house was very interesting. All of the rangers and volunteers were friendly and very knowledgeable. Make sure you look at what time the tours are, the grounds are open all week but the gift shop and tours are only on certain days. Tickets can only be purchased in the gift shop.

This place is incredible! One of the best of hundreds of historical sites I have ever been to. Didn't get to take a tour or go inside cuz it was closed due to government shutdown (thank you Dems), but the outside of the house and the grounds were unreal. Just a short few miles/minutes off 84 close to Milford, definitely worth a stop on your travels. So much to see. Even the bathroom facility in the parking area was a tower. Plenty of parking and great bathrooms with water fountains. Came during fall, so got added bonus of fall decorations, including pumpkins. Can't wait to return for a tour of the inside!

Quiet and vast area filled with history. We walked around the perimeter and soaked in all the beautiful flowers, sun and landscape. There's two levels of parking available and there were tours happening. It was an enjoyable afternoon roaming around.

Wow, wow, wow!! This place was impressive beyond belief. And, it was a complete surprise find while road tripping through the New England states. While we were on time constraints and didn't get to make it inside the house, just the outside is a site to marvel at. I love seeing these types of places and imagine myself living there in times gone by. Hard to believe JFK was here shortly before he had gotten assassinated. Lots of history in the video. Make this a stop on your travels, you won't be disappointed.

Beautiful home full of history of an early time of US history and the begginig of the US Forrest conservamcy movement. Pinchot family involved after they, very ironically, made their fortune in the logging industry and significantly deforested the area. Apparently one of the progeny, grandson, i think, became upset witnessing the ravaged woods in pennsylvania. This personn became the first US forrester after studying in europe. He ultimately was govenor of pa twice and established the US Forrest Service. Mansion built by famous architect of the gilded age. Can only tour the first floor for $10 but it is worth it. Nice picture of life then. Some interesting touches outside home as they entertained some big time dignitaries like a stone table with a water center where food would be floated for dining guests to sserve themselves.4 stars because there were part of the gardends that looked very interesting but were locked off without explanation.

It is a beautiful place and a well-maintained site. I was so grateful that there was no entrance fee. If you want to tour the castle, you need a ticket. You can also buy simple drinks, snacks, and souvenirs.

Grey Towers National Historic Site is a remarkable historic site located in Milford, PA. Here you can both walk the grounds or take a tour of the mansion. It is easy to be impressed by the grandeur of the mansion and the surrounding gardens and scenery. Grey Towers was built in 1886 by James Pinchot, who was a philanthropist and businessman. As with many Gilded Age mansions the designer of this mansion was Richard Morris Hunt. After James died in 1908, his son Gifford who was head of the US Forest Service and then a governor of Pennsylvania lived here. Most of the sites and exhibits on the grounds and in the mansion are dedicated to Gifford’s efforts as a leading conservationist of his time. Tours of the mansion are self guided and the docents inside can answer all of your questions. Inside you will see the opulence of the Gilded Age reflected in each room. Some of the best rooms in the house are the ballroom and library. On the mansion tour you will only see the bottom floors. The top floors can be seen only when the house is decorated for the Christmas holiday. When walking outdoors there are many sites to see. Be sure to view the conical towers on the mansion when seeing it from the outside. The Finger Bowl, an outdoor dining area, is probably one of the most unique things outside. The Letterbox and the Bait Box are also unique. The Bait Box was originally a playhouse for Gifford Pinchot’s son, and is today used as a small amphitheater where a movie about Grey Towers is shown. The cemetery is an interesting piece of history located here as well. The estate also offers walking/hiking trails around the estate. Mansion tours are done only a few days each week from May-October. To get a mansion tour you will have to purchase a ticket at the gift shop or “Letter Box” near the mansion. You will have to check the website for hours and when tours of the mansion are available. Grey Towers is a unique place to learn about the history of conservation and see a remarkable Gilded Age estate.

It was a very fun place for us, especially my son really loved it. The amusement park was great and it reminded me of my childhood. Food and drinks are cash only, so make sure to bring cash with you. The pool and its surroundings could be a bit cleaner and more hygienic. I think we would go again

This was our first visit and it was awesome!! Spent the whole day, open to close. Lots of kid friendly rides. The water park is included in admission and the slides are incredible! Was not expecting to have as much fun we did. Definitely recommend!

We had such a fun time at Land of Make Believe! It’s the perfect mix of nostalgic charm and kid-friendly excitement. The water park was a hit, clean, safe, and not overwhelmingly huge. My kids couldn’t get enough of the lazy river and pirate ship splash area. The amusement rides were just right for younger kids, and the staff was friendly and helpful throughout the day. I also appreciated how family-oriented the entire park felt, no overpriced food traps, no long lines, and plenty of shady spots to relax. If you’re looking for a wholesome, low-stress day trip where your kids can run around and actually be kids, this place is it. We’ll definitely be back!

Amazing park to explore with kids . We had really fun time there despite of a hot day. The rides were perfect for my 4 year old age . Water park was so much fun .. We came back home super tired and with wonderful memories . Would like to visit again !

Amazing fun spot for families. Perfect charm level, cost is very reasonable and the rides are unlimited. Will definitely return. If within 50 miles it’s a MUST for kids under 10.

Went here yesterday on a Tuesday. No lines for the rides. My kid enjoyed it all, especially the talking scarecrow. Ice cream was a good size for $5. My daughter took part in the interactive play. The water park is a real treat. Very clean. The pistachio fudge was delicious. They have cheap toys in the gift shop. I bought a mug for $5, 3 miniature unicorns for $6, and a mermaid for $3. I try to come here once a year, as well as Storybook Land. This place is a true gem.

Grew up in NJ and never heard of this place. Decided to make a go for it on 4th of July with the whole family. Figured we might luck out because everyone else goes to the beach this weekend in Jersey. We purchased our tickets online and found them somewhat reasonable. There were long entrance lines when we arrived at 10am, and we assumed we could be fast tracked but no - you stand in line and wait with everyone else. After that, you wait in line again for one employee to search each party on the way in. As you might imagine, it's slow and they largely waive everyone in. Absurd, unsafe, and inefficient. The theme park area is underwhelming - extremely dated and didn't offer much - caters to ages 5 and under. Picture a pop up carnival in a small town with fewer rides. You could make the argument that there is something for everyone if by that you mean there is one ride for people 7 and up to enjoy. There is clearly more investment in the water park which has a bit more to offer for all ages - though not a ton of options. How on earth did this olace survive all these years without it?? ALL areas are clean which was a major plus when you factor in the worn out aspects. Everyone who works here is helpful and pleasant. There was even a show at 3pm for the kids. The site advertises shades and trees but that really wasn't the case - unless you are talking about the general area where the theme park as a whole is located. They say on their site that you can picnic but what they don't tell you is that the picnic area is deep inside the park and has NO shade or umbrellas whatsoever. No coolers or picnicking in any other area (even your car!). The food prices and game prices are very inflated, and it's all processed junk and sugary beverages. My youngest had an OK time - let's face it, she doesn't know any better - and if I had only one kid this age, I'd give this place 3 stars. We were here for about six hours and she didn't complain of boredom once - but we won't be coming back again, and can't really recommend it to others. There are better options in PA for the WHOLE family to enjoy.

This has changed A LOT since I was a kid! It went from being a wonderful hike to a tourist trap. $22 entrance fee is WILD! I understood why once inside; all those stairs changing this from a hike to a boardwalk of stairs must be expensive! By creating a walkway like this, it's made this area into something that people feel is easily accessible for a non-hiker. I just wish I wasn't expecting to hike.... What a bummer. AND you can't even get close to the waterfalls like you once had access to! You used to be able to get right to the water's edge. Not anymore.... If you are looking for an over-crowded, family in the way of your photos, easy-ish hike. This is for you. If you want to be in nature and HIKE, this isn't the place for you.

But your tickets in advance. Take pictures of your confirmation before arriving. There’s almost no cell service there. The site is amazing. The waterfalls are beautiful. The biggest one is up front. The walkways are well maintained. Wear very comfortable shoes. Be prepared to walk on gravel, grades and stairs. It’s worth it. We did the Red trail. 2-2.5 miles. Posted for hikers only. If you don’t hike, carefully consider if you can do this trail. We suggest doing it counter clockwise. It starts off more strenuous and the last half is easy.

A beautiful walk amongst the hills viewing the many waterfalls. Scenery was beautiful The walk was a little strenuous at times but well worth it for the hour and a half it took us.

This is one of the privately owned area with Plenty of parking. The price of $22 expensive to enter for only a few falls. When we visited during October the water streams had close to no flow water level, which was disappointing. Takes about 2 hours to walk and some step sections are long to go up and down. Half of the trail is near falls and the other half goes through the gorgeous woods. One can avoid the trail and just come spend some casual time with family in the nature.

What a gem of a park!!! Beautiful views of countless waterfalls. You can day walk or hike hard either way you won't be disappointed. Friendly staff. Nice gift shop and vlean bathrooms. A must see for the entire family.

A very beautiful place, often called the “Niagara of Pennsylvania.” Bushkill Falls is impressive: several waterfalls, clean trails, viewing platforms, and wooden bridges. We chose the Yellow Trail — it was easy and very scenic. Tickets were $22 per person at the entrance. Keep in mind there are stairs and climbs, so wear comfortable shoes and be ready for a bit of exercise. Overall, it’s a great spot for a family walk and photos. Definitely worth visiting at least once!

Came here for a hike on our honeymoon. The trails were amazing, the waterfalls were so cool to see up close. Definitely recommend to any outdoorsy person! Plus as an added bonus the shops are super cute and have something for everyone. And an added bonus the pressed penny machines were a great vacation throwback.

I remembered the old Mount Airy Lodge commercials from when I was a kid in the 1980s, and I wanted to see how this place changed since then, even though the original structure was demolished in the early 2000s. I came here for a little weekend trip for some gambling and a little spa treatment. This whole place is absolutely gorgeous. One of the best resorts I have visited. My room was clean and I had a nice view of the lake/golf course. The room has a fridge, but it only holds beverages (including alcohol) from the hotel that you are automatically charged if you remove anything. Same goes for snacks. The casino can be a little off putting since it is a tad smoky since smoking is permitted. Otherwise, they have a great selection of games to play. I really enjoyed the different slot machines. I took advantage of the Spa my second day and I was very satisfied with all my services. Shout out to Alyssa and Liana who did a fantastic job with my facial, manicure and massage. The Spa is very clean and well organized. Definitely recommend checking out. But be mindful that all services automatically charges 20% gratuity. They have several restaurants and a bar in the casino area along with a cute little gift shop. The coffee shop is downstairs on the other end of the hotel. When I arrived they had plenty of parking. It can seem like a nuisance to drag luggage from the car and have to cut through the casino to get to the front desk. I also attended an event in the conference area that was fun as well. And it wasn't that expensive. Overall, I had a wonderful time here and I will definitely come back again in the future.

Fantastic and very beautiful casino in the beautiful Pocono Mountains. The rooms are absolutely amazing and both the hotel and casino are great! The selection of slots and number of them ensure that you can almost always get your machine. The buffet is the best we have had at a casino, and is very reasonably priced. Every Wednesday has a 30% discount on the buffet. The Noodle bar and Italian restaurant are top notch as well. The payouts seem to be very generous as well!

I am extremely disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The overall cleanliness is unacceptable — everything feels dirty and neglected. The pools are very dirty, and the jacuzzi that is advertised simply does not exist. The service is terrible, and the staff look tired, unprofessional, and untidy. The food in the restaurant is awful — absolutely tasteless, the dishes are dirty, and even the tables are sticky and not properly cleaned. The dining area feels old and unpleasant. The whole atmosphere of the hotel is depressing. There is literally nothing to do here — no entertainment, no energy, nothing modern. I honestly don’t understand how this place has such a high rating. The hotel looks like it hasn’t been renovated since the 1990s. Everything — from the furniture to the decor — feels outdated. Maybe this place would be fine for people in their 70s or 80s who just want a quiet place to sit, but for anyone younger who expects comfort, cleanliness, and a nice experience — I do not recommend this hotel at all. It’s a waste of money.

Really beautiful and clean rooms. I stayed here when on a work trip. Multiple places to eat. Room service and valet available. I don't gamble but the casino floor looked well run. The only complaint is there is a smoking section in the casino and that smell travels throughout the entire floor. No smoking in or near the hotel rooms though. No children allowed. Nice pool.

Mt. Airy casino was kind to me during my visit. Had the buffet with some other family members and we really enjoyed it. Baked and fried fish, shrimp, excellent soup, fried chicken that was nice and moist. Peanut butter cake and ice cream for desert. Had so much can't remember everything. Dinner buffet was 40 dollars a person. I would encourage everyone to give it a try. Next stop was the casino floor. Soon as I walked out of the buffet I found an older quick hits machine that was screaming at me to play it. Played for an hour and walked away 300 dollars up! Of course I lost all of it by the end of the night. Had a great time and broke even.

We did a one night stay at this property and it's supposed to be an adult only casino... There's no entertainment for adults, no night clubs and the joke of what they call entertainment is setting up a few plastic cubes by the poker bar and have two people singing that you can barely hear. This place is filled with cigarette and marijuana smokers, my wife and I had to wear a mask. Totally disgusting. I would never recommend this place to anyone and do not plan on ever going back. Tom

I did not stay in the hotel, but the casino was one of the worst I have ever seen. First, the air quality is beyond poor, if you're a non smoker who values your lungs, this is not thr place for you. They have a no smoking section, but you would never know it, thr ventilation system is inadequate. Many machines are not just old but damaged. Card slot and entry keys not working on 75% of machines I played. Really couldn't review much as my lungs were irritated and my clothes smelled like smoke. Will never go there again

Nice park. Everything was chill and smooth. Rides were good and my kids enjoyed everything. The only thing that was a big problem was the fact that my wife and I waited in line for more than an hour to order food at the bar for our kids. It was really annoying watch 1 person try to service the bar and the guests ordering food. She handled everything professionally and quickly but it's sad that she had no help.

I'm so disappointed. I went with my husband and 2 kids we went because my son wanted to go for his bday which is 9/3 which clearly they are closed which is understandable this is why we went on 8/31 we got there early so we didn't have any issues with waiting on long lines . If you ask me the price for parking is absolutely insane $12 to park far away $35 if you want " mid " way and $40 dollars of you just wanna walk up about 15 or so steps 🤦 so before we even enter the park we are already paying $40 for parking . Then we purchased 4 day passes which was about a hundred and 40 something I believe my husband said . Anywho so the temperature showed it was about 69 going up to 73 I believe so yes the sun was shining and hiding because it kept coming in and out . So first we walked over to the lazy river 🥶🥶🥶🥶 omg that water was absolutely freezing cold I don't know how people were even in the water freezing there behinds but I just couldn't it's a " Lazy River " not a frozen riven you are supposed to go in and just relax . Alot of life guards had on sweaters everywhere you looked there were people wrapped with towels because it was so 🥶🥶🥶🥶 you just couldn't enjoy the water . Then we walked over to the Olympic pool we walked in and pretty much wet our legs because it was so cold you couldn't even swin and enjoy it . Then we tried the wave pool 🤦🤦🥶🥶🥶🥶 another area of water that had freezing cold water . Which completely sucks because you pay money to go to a water park you figured the water would be enjoyable but nope that's not the experience we had . So while I was shivering on a beach chair wrapped in my towel I decide to call guest services to see if anything could be done . So I explained how we paid money to park and enter the park and we aren't able to enjoy ourselves because everything is extremely cold is there some type of compensation we can receive maybe some type of discount to return next summer but I simply got told NO ! once your ticket is scanned there really isn't much that can be done . So I told the guy so basically we spent almost $200 to come in and just touch cold water he's like a there's nothing we can do . And don't get me started on the price of the snacks in there 🤦 talk about highway robbery a bag of m&m was $6.00 freaking bucks for a regular small bag a small bag of chips was like $5.00 bucks 🤦 a small drink from the fountain machine was $2.50 smh . It really sucks that we went and drove 2 hours to come and enjoy this park and that's the last thing we did because the water was way to cold to enjoy . So that is why I'm only leaving 1 start because we were extremely disappointed and my son did not get to enjoy his bday after we traveled for about 2 hours . So we came back home disappointed.

Overall, Camelback Outdoor Water Park is a fantastic place for kids (and kids at heart!) to spend the day. With its many attractions and amenities, it's an ideal destination for families and groups looking for a fun-filled day of splashing around and soaking up the sun.

Staff is very friendly and professional. Rides are well-maintained. Parking seems a bit on the expensive side ($12, $30 or $40), but whatever. Great variety of food stands.

Great outdoor water park. The kids loved it. I highly recommend renting a cabana for the day as it used it to take a break and get lunch and to rest in between all the rides.

It is great that they are doing Fireworks Fridays this Summer! Open to the Public at 7:30pm and typically piared with some kind of entertainment leading up to the Fireworks. Enjoy some Rita's, Beer, and food and have.an enjoyable evening with the family.

This place is crowded like crazy on Sundays. DO NOT GO! Price is cheap but that makes the crowd VERY HUGE. Line is about 1hr wait so we bought the $30 express pass. BUT! Express lane has the same lane as the normal lane, we had to ask people to move away to go through the line. PEOPLE LITERALLY THOUGHT WE WERE CUTTING THE LINE and they were mad. We had to explain. And it’s frustrating and embarrassing. Aside from that, the slides were fun. Side note: I would suggest going to other water parks, unless you want to save money.

Not a great casino. Was there about 20 years ago and went again in 2025. Need players card to order drinks. Must play $5 to order and can only have one drink every 30 minutes. At least 40 slots broken. Casino is half smoking as well.

Came to this casino for the first time. At the entrance the security was very rude & disrespectful. 0 starts deserved earned at an entertainment service business before even entering the casino.

What a night with lots of luck and fun

The table suddenly became very busy, and the dealer kept blowing cards, but they changed 4 dealers within 10 minutes. The staff called a few people to look at it, and said it was very strange, as if we were cheating. , they said they were going to close this desk and they were going to get off work. No way, the rules of the game are theirs. The next day, I went to the same table and kept losing. The dealer kept getting 20 and 21 points. I asked the staff when the table would be closed today. The dealer told me that in addition to changing the cards, the table would be replaced with new cards. , will not be closed. Yes, shameless behavior can only make you lose, not win. When you are lucky, they keep changing people to deal cards, or close the table directly. There is no justice at all... don't go gambling in this place, their behavior is so bad

Bush league services and amenities. Unhealthy conditions and clown shoes service. It is clear there has been a recent management change for the worse. Our stay started with the front desk being unable to locate our reservation. Despite it being made months ahead of time. Next my coworker discovered that our shower would not drain. When maintenance arrived they pulled 3 hair extensions worth of hair out of the drain. They have done away with complimentary breakfast (which my coworker would not stop complaining about for our week long stay), the attached restaurants are over priced. One night I ordered medium steak, at "market price", and received a brunt piece of charcoal that was no where near worth what I had paid for the meal. Next security saw fit to give my company vehicle a "parking warning" threatening to boot or tow it. With no explanation for the warning. The vehicle was legally and parked in a valid area. No signage, no markings, no attempt to contact me. When I contacted them, they admitted that the warning should not have been issued. It never occurred to them that the vehicle was parked for more than 24 hours, because the guests were staying for longer than 24 hours. All these above mentioned things are annoying but what is unforgivable is my coworker and I both observed the house keeping staff clean our room one day. The house keeper took the reusable glasses and coffee mugs, washed them in the room's sink without soap, and replaced them. There were no new glasses or mugs on her cart, so this must be a standard thing for this staff. Dog feces located everywhere in the landscaping and parking lot. The room does not have a microwave and the refrigerator barely cools drinks at the max setting. The computers in the "business center" in the lobby are running illegitimate copies of Windows, the styling of the rooms and public areas are clearly cheap and tacky. The free wifi is open, public, and not in the least bit secure. It is clear the powers that be are cutting corners where ever possible. In short, anyone staying here should not expect the most basic level of customer service and expectations to be met. For the cost of the room alone, I would expect NONE of these issues, let alone one of them to be experienced during a week long stay. The only people that have any idea of what they are doing is the polite and professional maintenance staff. But that is not enough for me to reserve a room here next time.

Reserved a room for Friday Night May 11. Arrived to check-in only to be rudely informed By an employee at registration desk that despite having an itinerary Number with a Confirmation Number confirming our reservation, They were over booked and they had no rooms available. After 15 minutes of waiting the hotel manager (I guess as she never Identified herself) rudely offered to shuttle us to another hotel off site. I recommend not wasting your time visiting the Sand Casino. Your better off visiting another resort.

Wasn't allowed to bring my 20yr old son through the casino to eat at Emeril's Burgers and More. Don't know why security couldn't escort us to the restaurant. Last thing we wanted to do was waste money on the slots. All we wanted was a bite to eat. Security said the only option was the food court. Definitely not worth it.

I have been coming to Split Rock for over 20 years prior to moving to West Virginia 5 years ago. I was excited to see that they remodeled the rooms when I booked a trip. The reception was very nice but it went downhill from there. I was told that the elevator was down and would have to carry everything to the 3rd floor. I asked about plates and glasses not being in the kitchen (my friend arrived earlier and gave me a heads up). The receptionist explained that the weekend folks kept breaking them so it’s only available for timeshare owners. Ok, I get it. After lugging my suitcase up 3 flights of steps I open our room to see a windowless box with minimal air conditioning and the most uncomfortable living room I’ve ever experienced. Think straight-backed church pews with cushions. The beds were comfortable and the resort beautiful, but I will never come back again.

My friend and I booked a stay at the resort July 10 through the 17th 2025. It was her birthday and I wanted to surprise her. The surprise was on us when we got there and got a room. The room was so bad that when we asked for maintenance, there was no maintenance people on site so we had to clean a defrosting refrigerator. It was ice and water all over the refrigerator when we opened the refrigerator. Water was falling on the floor when we went to clean the refrigerator. The sink was so dirty. It was a silver sink that turned brown. We had to clean that the countertop the stove it was a mess then we find out we have no cable. Went to the desk to complain about everything there was nobody that could help us because there was no maintenance on site. The place was like a ghost town and in the rooms was dirty couldn’t get no linen. It was real bad. we wind up leaving two days early. That’s how bad it was. We didn’t get maintenance for the TVs for three days. So for you who have a membership or is looking to buy a membership from split rock don’t. They didn’t want to reimburse me nothing I couldn’t get no help from managers because the managers was barely on site. If they weren’t on site they was in a meeting they busy so therefore you couldn’t get any help from nobody, bad situation all the way around. So my warning to you, if you’re looking to buy into a resort, do not buy into split rock it’s the worst.

Resort had many errors upon arrival. I left a vape behind in which I have no problem picking up. Phone numbers don’t work. They randomly hang up on me. Can’t speak to anyone about the matter. No heat, fridge was damaged, no breakfast accommodations for the amount that was paid. Definitely was not worth my stay. I’m hoping my friend had a great birthday. But I felt it could have been better. Customers service is very poor. I called 2 different types of numbers to try and speak to someone about my property being returned but I can even get ahold of someone online. Customer service is disgusting. They aren’t helpful rather the complete opposite. Very unethical and incompetent. They don’t care about their customers. They have a nasty attitude. Do not waste your money in going here. Absolutely appalling and waste of money. Nothing enjoyable about this resort at all.

All the staff we interacted with were wonderful. Size of the time share rooms (2 bedroom ) were amazing. Building 6 rooms 3119 A/B. Rooms themselves, as you know are outdated. Clean, but outdated. New couches are desperately needed simply for comfort. They were incredibly firm and uncomfortable. We had a good stay all in all and the place would be amazing if remodeled. We really booked it for its proximity to Jim Thorpe and surrounding area.

I was extreme dissatisfied with my recent stay at Split Rock Poconos, Willowbrook. While I appreciate that the staff were friendly and helpful and that the breakfast buffet and service were excellent, the overall condition of the resort and accommodations was unacceptable. When we arrived at the building, I immediately noticed several issues: * The exterior was extremely dirty, with visible grime and algae, and the overhang was missing its aluminum covering. * Inside, there was a strong sewage odor and heavily stained carpeting throughout the halls. * Our unit contained bugs on the walls and ceiling, dirty and outdated appliances, and visible dirt on the bed. One wall even had a hole in it. * The in-room phone did not work. We were then moved to Building 6. Although the exterior appeared slightly cleaner, the overall condition was still disappointing. The entryway smelled unpleasant, lighting throughout was dim, and the furniture appeared decades old. The hallway carpets were stained, and trash was present on the floor. In our unit, the appliances and handles were grimy, the dining chairs were stained. The bathroom was poorly lit and visibly unclean, with stained fixtures and a damaged electrical socket that appeared to be burned—posing a potential safety hazard. The resort’s main recreational area was also in disrepair. Several bowling lanes were out of order, seats were ripped and dirty, and buckets had been placed to catch water leaking from the ceiling. These conditions made the amenities unusable.

I Love all the activities there are at split rock resort. I really enjoy the arcade and bowling alley. Me and my bf come every October for my birthday and we always have a great week here with everything there is to do here. A special shout out to Luis and Gerald for being amazing workers and always answering questions we have or if a machine is giving us issues they are there to help.

I was honestly prepared for the worst vacation spot of my life judging from the most recent reviews but we were happy with our little stay at Split Rock. Only the Town Center had the water problems and you can see by my photos that the staff had water out for people to drink there. The reception staff was so so nice and gave us a room at The Lodge and the water there comes from a different source per the staff. I brought my two young kids and they did not mind that the resort is in need of superficial updates and some tlc - they had a blast at the arcade and the water park and in the room which had a great view! The activities and bones are charming but it does need updating.

I cant even begin to tell you how happy my husband and I were that we decided to do this tour. Leah, our tour guide was absolutely wonderful. She was so knowledgeable and you could honestly tell how much she enjoyed the history of the mansion and the stories. Great job Leah, thank you for being so interesting and invested! This is a must see while visiting Jim Thorpe! Everything inside was fabulous and I would go through this tour again just to take another look! 😀

Museum tour is filled with interesting facts about Asa and the Packer family. You can not tour the home alone. Tour is owned and run by the town of Jim Thorpe. Fascinating to see tech advances from the 1800s. The full mansion is not available to be toured.

We didn’t go inside, but the exterior of the mansion is impressive and beautifully maintained. It’s worth a quick stop to admire the architecture and take some photos while walking around downtown Jim Thorpe.

What a great time! This was such a worthwhile trip. Make sure you get Eric as a tour guide. I even had a question about a statue outside of the premise. They called me back and though they didn't have an answer they will call me back as soon as they get an answer.

The Queen of all historic homes!! The Asa Packer mansion is so beautiful- a definite must see if you love elegant craftsmanship and architecture. I drove 5 hours round trip in one day to tour the home and it was worth every minute! The only downfall in my opinion, is no photos are allowed inside. You have to see it to believe it.

What a cool house with wonderful history. We enjoyed our visit to this spectacular mansion so much because of Erik,our amazing tour guide. He knows every nook and cranny of this mansion along with all its historical facts. He's loves this place and it shows through his detailed tour. He really made our visit and tour special. It's so refreshing to see someone enjoy what the do for a living. Go visit the Asa Packer house and ask for Erik, you won't regret it.

Built in 1861, this Victorian Italianate architecture-style home was constructed over a span of two years at a total cost of $14,000 dollars. The Asa Packer Mansion listed as a National Historic Landmark was the home of philanthropist, railroad magnate, and founder of Lehigh University, Asa Packer, from Oct. 16, 1861, to Oct. 29, 1912. Located in Jim Thorpe, this building is recognized by a red-ribbed tin roof and a central cupola proudly atop Packer Hill with the commanding stunning views of the surrounding Pocono Mountains, where my partner, his aunt and I came for a tour today. Tickets were easily available and reasonably priced for the 1pm tour, which covered the entirety of the first and second floors. Our tour guide was a young lady (she mentioned she is a senior in high school) who obviously loves her job and is personally interested in the history of the mansion and family. From the furniture, woodwork, and stained glass to the artwork, she spoke about the history or significance. The mansion is not a restoration where pictures and video are prohibited inside. An amazing walk back in time, for which we can recommend this place.

Absolutely beautiful outdoors store. Large two floors of everything needed for the trip or sports you take or do. You can even pay your Cabels credit card bill there. And use your points you collected using the credit card.

It’s like a big shopping store for hunters, fisherman,sports enthusiasts and outdoorsy types. We love walking through the enrapture store with our list to find essentials for our next adventure.

Absolutely wonderful store. This is perfectly positioned for my travels with my rv. They allow RVs to park for shoppers and the store is amazing! This is the largest store they have! It’s massive!!! I always shop here when I’m coming through on my travels and the huge parking lot allowing space for RVs to park works perfect for my tiny camper.

There was a lot to look at! Lots of taxidermy displays! Cool aquarium and lots and lots of fishing and hunting items. There are clothes for men and women. Boots and socks and jackets. Kayaks, quads and utvs too. Four stars for over priced everything!

This is top notch hunting, fishing, kayaking, hiking ANYTHING outdoors. The amount of inventory is unbelievable. The animal displays are mountains high. On those mountains; mounted animals with signs of what each animal is. Not only is it one of the best shopping experiences but it is educational. They even have a target practice area reflecting the gold mine era. (So cool!) My son and I visited for 3 hours and honestly could have stayed longer. Thanks Cabela’s for having us! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

You could spend hours in this store. There is so much to look at and the store is very neatly organized. The walk through aquarium and deer exhibit are pretty cool and I’m sure people of all ages enjoy it! There is even a second floor!

Amazing to see the hard work and dedication that went into building and operating America's oldest brewery up to present day. Our tour guide gave us detailed , fascinating stories for all parts of the brewery including stories behind the beers and behind the brewery operations across US History. I've visited many smaller breweries across the country and this has to be one of my favorite experiences of a brewery tour. Definitely recommend to those who brew, enjoy beer, or any history fan (beer drinker or not!).

Very informative museum, all about the area, the family, the business. Really enjoyed the free tour of the brewery. It was well worth taking. Susan, our guide, was very good. There are lots of stairs on and off throughout the tour so just take note of that. Ranks as a favorite for sure!

Rode from Southeast Ohio to visit America's Oldest Brewery....definitely did not disappoint. Tour was full of history and the cold drinks were so affordable. Great staff and atmosphere. Thank you Yuengling staff for such a memorable trip. Please bring back Hershey Porter.

Free brewery tour of America’s oldest brewery well worth checking out! We walked into the 2PM tour moments before it kicked off. The tour guide was awesome! Informative and funny he kept the hour long tour interesting. You’ll get to tour the caves that were carved out by miners in the 1800’s to give the lager beer making casks a constant 50 degree atmosphere for processing. The canning room was fast paced processing up to 500,000 cans a day of beer! Afterwards you’ll get to sample two of the Yuengling beer line, some of which are only available at the brewery on draft (Vanilla Black and Tan!) The store is stocked with the beer lines available for purchase in cases, memorabilia and company hats/ tee shirts. Glad to finally make the tour. We enjoyed awesome authentic Polish food at Kat’s cafe in Minersville, PA afterwards! Would be awesome to pair those pierogis with the samples at the end of the tour!

Honestly the best tour!!! Jonny was the best she was very knowledgeable and nice! We loved her! If your in Pottsville definitely stop by! You will not be disappointed!

We came here on a Thursday in June. We were nearby having lunch and looking for something else to do in the area and were able to make it here just in time for their last daily tour at 3p. *Wear closed toed shoes fyi* You can park on the street but there is a lot behind the museum/gift shop. You will walk up a small hill to get here from the parking lot - welcome to Pottsville:) So go into the museum to register for the tour. It is free but you can tip your tour guide. Ours was Sandy and she was friendly and knowledgeable about the history and easy to understand. The tour will take you a road the street to the production area and you will get to go through the underground tunnel. It’s 50 degrees down there but you’re not down there long so don’t worry about freezing. There are stairs to get up from there to the other floors. Nothing crazy just noting in case you aren’t able to do stairs. After the tour (I think it was about an hour btw) you can sample two beers in the area behind the gift shop and then stop in the shop for Yuengling merch. You can also buy beer to take home. Honestly I don’t drink Yuengling beer but I really enjoyed the tour. I did actually like the samples I had as well. If you’re a beer drinker you should put this on your list for a visit. It’s pretty interesting history and the oldest brewery in the US.

I attended Summer Worship Nights which was a sold-out show. I was very impressed with how smoothly everything went, considering there were 30,000 people in attendance. Parking was across the street, which I wasn't aware of until we arrived. So, be prepared and allow time for a little bit of a walk. My seats were in Section A Row 7 and they were great!

Great concert venue. Most seats have good visibility. Be careful if it rains as seats will be wet. Getting in and out is easy, but it's preferable to leave early from a concert to leave easily. Concessions are ridiculously expensive... Parking could be better.

Awesome venue. Great for Summer concerts. Not crazy about the bench seating but the floor was awesome. It sounds amazing & it's so cool seeing the park & coasters in the background. Staff, secutity were cool, friendly. But, the parking although free, is a disaster. It's a gravel walk to the stadium & leaving took 1.5 hrs in traffic to exit It's why ill never see a show here again. It was hell trying to leave. No direction at all. (We had amazing seats but we were early & walked right to the front of ga so we just stayed there to dance & have fun w/friends)

Pretty decent venue. It’s absolutely huge and seeing the theme park in the background is pretty cool. Easy access in and out. Just really crowded. The seats on the sides of the stage are benches and they don’t give you much room at all between numbers/people. Pretty crammed. Still a good time. Concert itself was 10/10, loved worshipping alongside 30,000 people!!

Was dreading coming here for Slayer last night because of the whole traffic situation I've been reading about. I was suprised how quickly I was able to park even though I arrived right at show time. I got parking at one of the grass lots across the main road from the stadium which was a hike. Probably a 25 minute walk but I was able to get in and out easily instead of fighting traffic in the field lots. Venue itself is dated but the sound was good. Chairs on the floor were tight and barely labeled so anytime you left for a drink or the bathroom someone was always in our seats when we returned. Overall it was a good show and exceeded my expectations because I expected a complete disaster due to reviews.

Used to come here every year for Show of the Summer, but haven’t been to a concert here since the last one until now for Twenty one pilots Breach/Clancy tour (September 2025), the staff is lovely and try their best to help direct you to where things are but until someone rlly in charge tells you then it usually isn’t correct. We had asked 4 staff members where to go to line up for our section and got all different responses to different locations. We ended up waiting for the end of the check in line to get in since it was such chaos of nobody knowing. Otherwise it was a great show, great venue.

I've only been there once. It was for Slayer, suicidal tendencies, cavaliera conspiracy, Power Trip, and the Mickey mouse of hardcore, knocked loose. It was a decent show, the sound person kind of blue chunks from where we were standing. We were in the non-vip GA for that show, where there was a closed off section for closer GA experience. Make sure that you check your emails for updates because they did a terrible job at telling what bags or necklaces and items can be worn for attendees. We were stuck at security as a friend of mine had issues getting in.

Love what they did to the entrance, parking area, and visitor center since the last time we were here. The center was closed since we were there late in the day. Closed at 5pm. Plenty of parking on the upper and lower lots. Views of Pine Creek Gorge (PA Grand Canyon)!were wonderful. Pictures are of the upper lot. Bathrooms in the upper parking lot and entrance way to the gorge (toward left of building). They are older but were clean. Worth the drive if in Wellsboro area.

Did a short day trip here from our camp site and had a fun time. They have different level trail and amazing views to be had. Definitely something that can be done with the family or by yourself.

Best park I've been to in PA! The views are amazing, the hike is challenging but very fun and the campground was super clean. This is a wonderful place that everyone who enjoys the outdoors should visit!

Beautiful park to really take in all the views of the canyon. There’s a really nice observation deck that gradually lowers into other deck areas so you can get a full view at all different angles.

One of our favorite spots in Northern Pennsylvania. This Tioga county grand Vista is absolutely amazing. As you look over the thousands of acres of State Park and watch the leaves blow up following the canyon draft, it’s absolutely amazing. with facilities for every need, lots of hiking trails, a visitor center with excellent bathrooms. This is one of our favorite places.

Beautiful area, there are tons of trails and the views go on for miles. It was a little hazy when we went so I felt like there wasn't as much perspective depth but we still loved it. Very accessible at some points and we will be back soon. Do a little research first to figure out where you want to start but the options are plentiful.

This is a free park so I can't be too upset with some of the changes they made. However the parking lot changes where they chop down all of the trees around the parking lot and change the layout of the parking lot and move all the parking a little bit further away from the park was in my honest opinion a poor decision. I don't know if there's new management there or what, but even the gift shop seems lesser and I'm not sure if there's even possible to get any kind of drinks or snacks up there. Every time I go I can't get anything to drink from like a booth. There used to be a wonderful food truck here that sold Maple related products and maple syrups, however the management here decided they did not want to renew the contract so that's not even an option anymore and to me that was kind of like one of the little highlights of this park. A couple years ago this park was absolutely amazing wonderful and perfect but now I feel like something else has changed, whether it be new management or a change in the times but this isn't what it used to be. There are some great well-maintained trails here especially the turkey trail and the overlook trail is pretty good as well. I feel like they need to cut back some of the trees that are up near the viewing platform so you can see more of the surrounding area.

What a great experience! The tour guide was so knowledgeable and friendly and it is just so beautiful out there and in the cave. I will add that you need to make sure that you can walk down and back up a very steep, but paved, hill. And also walk down and back up the steep stairs. My husband surprised me on this trip and I didn’t quite have the right shoes for this but I managed and it was a great time. It is steep though. Just make sure you can handle that. They do not allow anything with wheels(wheelchairs, etc) down the hill to the cave because it would not be safe. The whole tour is on a boat once you get down to the cave. I do recommend to buy tickets ahead of time.

Penn's Cave and Wildlife Park is a fun destination for nature lovers! The cave tour was a highlight of our visit, showcasing stunning rock formations and an underground river. It was both educational and awe-inspiring to learn about the geology and history of the cave. The wildlife park aspect is equally fun, featuring a variety of native animals in spacious, natural habitats. We enjoyed seeing animals like bears, deer, and bison up close, which made for a memorable experience, especially for the kids. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, adding to our overall enjoyment. They provided great insights during the tours and were enthusiastic about sharing information about the wildlife. The combination of the cave exploration and wildlife interactions makes Penn's Cave a unique outing. It’s a fantastic way to spend a day outdoors, and we left with great memories and a deeper appreciation for the natural world. Highly recommended for families and anyone looking to explore Pennsylvania's beauty!

We had a great time. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. The cave was awesome! We didn't do the wildlife tour but saw some elk when we came onto the lake. We did the maze, it was a lit of fun also. Our grandson loved the whole day. Highly recommended!!

We recently visited Penn’s Cave and Wildlife Park, and it’s an amazing destination for nature lovers. This was my first time exploring a cave by boat, which made the experience truly unique. The 40–45 minute guided tour was well-organized, and the guide kept it engaging with humor and interesting facts. They do offer walk-in tickets, but those are limited — I highly recommend booking tickets in advance to secure your spot. We booked the Cave Tour and Maze, and both were great! We wanted to join the Wildlife Tour afterward for our kiddo, but it was already sold out. The maze was a fun and challenging, time-bound activity that added to the excitement. The on-site café served good refreshments at moderate prices. Parking was free with plenty of space for around 30–40 cars. The place is scenic, peaceful, and perfect for families. Overall, we had a wonderful time — just a tip for visitors: plan ahead and book in advance. There’s no Wi-Fi, but restrooms were clean and well-maintained.

We had booked a Cave tour without knowing what unique & wonderful experience was waiting for us! The All Water Caves which we explored through a well organised boat ride will remain ever green in our memory. The designs created by water over the thousands of years is simply unimaginable and beautiful...tonly o be seen to believe. We really enjoyed our visit to Penn’s Cave. The tour guide was very friendly and made the whole experience fun and interesting. We went with our two-year-old daughter, and she loved it — she wasn’t scared at all during the boat ride. The boat felt very stable, and the whole tour lasted about an hour. We didn’t have a reservation, and when we tried to book online the same day it showed as fully booked. We decided to go anyway, and although we had to wait about an hour for the next boat, it was worth it. The waiting area is nice — there’s a large gift shop to explore and the outdoor area around it is also beautiful. Highly recommended!

A very beautiful boat ride through a cave that exits into a nice lake with a view of some deer and elk. There are fish you can feed in the cave, sifting for gems and fossils in the gift shop, and many other things to do and buy. Great place to spend a couple hours

The Arboretum is beautiful. A very peaceful place to reconnect with nature and Mother Earth. The plant life is spectacular. They take such good care of this place. The children’s garden is amazing and I’m so glad they included an area for kids. Many thanks to all the donors who helped make this place possible. It is a good escape from the college/downtown mayhem. Pay to park its $1 for 1hour. Entrance is free.

A hidden gem in town with something to enjoy in every season, and best of all—free entry! The arboretum has plenty of parking, a beautiful art museum, Childhood’s Gate, a greenhouse, an impressive fountain, beehives, and a small pond full of fish. The greenery and flowers make it such a peaceful and scenic spot to visit.

Absolutely lovely Arboretum. So many beautiful flowers and plants to see throughout. We visited at the end of summer and some things are dying off as expected but still so many flowers are in bloom. Lots of beautiful butterflies and bees and the art installations throughout are super cool. Love the creativity in so many ways that they display and grow the plants. An added bonus is it’s Free! Can you believe it? I really enjoyed that it wasn’t overly crowded and you could mostly enjoy the different areas alone rather than moving with a heard of people. If I lived in State College I would be frequently visiting, even just to sit and read a book or take in the beauty of it all. The children’s area is an absolute gem and kids would love it. They seem to host a large variety of events and I do believe you can host a private party. Will definitely return. My Aunt who brought us there said it has a gorgeous fall display in another few weeks. Highly recommend!

A very nice green oasis on the campus of Penn State University! The arboretum at Penn State has lovely grounds with many beautiful features and gardens throughout. There is a nice children’s area, wildflower gardens, bird observation area, bat cave, sundial, ponds, and much more!

Beautiful place, feast the eyes and heavenly opportunity to the budding botanists. A full day affair if one wants to relax and picnic

Such a surprise! We came to the area for Penn’s Cave and stayed near the Arboretum. It is one of the loveliest gardens I’ve ever visited. In fall the colors of flowers and the changing leaves were spectacular, the place is immaculately kept, and the paths held a surprise around every bend.. We visited the nearby Art museum and all together spent an invigorating two+ hours. Definitely want to return in other seasons.

We enjoyed this quiet and beautiful area at Penn State University. A special area for bees for delightful.
