Love this place! We passed it a bunch of times until we finally went in one day and was so happy we did! Place is huge inside and reminds of a cute general store. They have great baked goods, food, amazing eggs of course and a bunch of other goodies! It’s a must stop!

3.7 Early July 2023 - Driving by here for years now on our way to upstate NY, we had the time today to drop in and actually buy some eggs. It's a humorous section of Route 8 North as all of the sheds on the farm have funny messages painted on them. There are many things for locals or passersby to buy here from refrigerated dairy to soft drinks, hard alcohol to beer and wine, souvenirs (such as post cards and bumper stickers), chips, newspapers and even shoes! We bought a cherry pie off their bakery rack to bring home. The man checking us out was not too friendly. Maybe he's tired of serving the public or it was just a bad time but we were kind of surprised. Worth the stop if in need for groceries or sundries in this rural area.
Juliana S — Google review
I first went here in 2020 and went every couple months and then stop going late 2023 because I live an hour away. So when I was going it what awesome I loved the pot pies the selection of sugar free pies and fudge and chocolates. The selection of chickens was awesome also me and the wife just loved this place. So the other day we went back and what a huge disappointment no pot pies, no chicken, no sugar free pies it was empty not really sure what happened but what wasted trip.
Eric B — Google review
It's exactly as I remember it looking like from when I was a little girl. While the shelves aren't completely full, they have the basics. There's pies, cookies, snacks, candy and other odds and ends you might expect at a country store. My family and I always stop here on the way to Chester and pick up a pie and some Gilliam candy sticks.
Jacqueline U — Google review
I'm gonna miss this place. One of my and my wife's favorite road trips for over 30 years. Always stopped by for the whoopie pies, chocolate turtles, smoked cheeses, wine and of course eggs. Thank you for the memories you and the farm will be missed by many.May your retirement be blessed
K C — Google review
February 2020 Updated Review: My how things have changed. Sad to see Otis Poultry Farm take such a negative turn. First off the biggest disappointment is they no longer have their amazing chicken pot pies and that’s the reason I have been visiting all my life. I inquired as to the reason and the gentleman behind the counter stated the person who made them retired. I can understand that but it’s still a disappointment. There is an alternative available the, Willow Tree Brand but I can buy those at Walmart and avoid a 90 minute drive. The pot pies are not the only disappointment. In general the whole place appears to be withering and dying. There is simply less of everything. Less food, souvenirs etc. my best guess is the place survives by selling to the locals who need some basic staples and don’t have time to drive to a grocery store. I will admit there was some fresh baked goods that looked and smelled great. In general I left sad and disappointed to see a place that has been an icon in my life for most of my life turn into a place I will not return too unless something changes. I hope the owners find away to revive the place to its former glory and make it sustainable in an online environment because if they can’t I simply can’t imagine how long it can continue in its current condition. Remember “egg eaters make better lovers”

An amazing store and farm. It has a wide variety of all kinds of things, they have the best biscuits ever.

Great place to get eggs, baked goods, alcohol...etc.... The owner is quiet but very kind and a great conversationalist. If you visit Aruba or would like to, he is a wealth of knowledge ...feels good to support a local business whenever we can 😁

Tolland State Forest is a popular destination known for its wooded hiking and biking trails, campgrounds, and a reservoir offering swimming and trout fishing opportunities. While the swimming and picnic area remains closed due to Covid, it has been a beloved spot for family camping, picnics, and leisurely swims for many years. The local residents are described as friendly and helpful. Visitors praise the natural beauty of the lake and surrounding forest as an example of the environmental splendor found in the Berkshires.
For some reason the swimming and picnic area is still closed due to Covid. This has been a great place to bring the family for camping, picnics, and even a quick swim for many years. Having lived in Otis before, I can attest to the friendly and helpful nature of the local residents. The natural beauty of the lake and surrounding forest are perfect examples of the environmental majesty available in the Berkshires.
Edward H — Google review
My wife and I went there Wednesday July 20, 2022 with our son, daughter-in-law and grandaughter to go swimming. We were told that we could not go to the beach because it was only for campers. We were advised to go to another park about 25 minutes away which would put us farther away than the 30 miles we already traveled. My daughter-in law suggested we rent a camp sight for $17.00 so we could go swimming. Of course, we had to sign up on line because no other way of paying was available and a charge of $4.50 was added to doing so on line. I had my usless senior pass with me.
Chuck C — Google review
The place is beautiful, cozy and quiet but sometimes the people who go to the place are racist and complain about latin people, despite that it is a good place to share with the family.
Yeimy T — Google review
The whole experience was amazing. The workers were so kind and caring to my entire family. Other campers were nice people and the area as a whole was really clean and peaceful

Gay City State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
Park
Gay City State Park is a picturesque 1,500-acre park that offers a variety of outdoor activities. The park features well-maintained hiking and biking trails, as well as opportunities for swimming in the lake. Visitors can explore historic mill-town ruins and enjoy picnics in the shaded areas. The park is known for its clean and peaceful environment, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing day out. In winter, visitors should be prepared for icy roads and muddy trails due to melting snow.
Great walking trails and very clean. Love seeing when people respect the parks and don't litter. Things to know when going in the winter: the main gate is closed so you have to park at the first lot and hike into the park. Make sure to wear good hiking boots. The roads were icy and the trails were muddy from where some of the snow melted. I would definitely go again in the warmer seasons, looks like a great place for a family picnic and the have swimming.

I love it so nice n so peaceful to relax with the family♥️🥰
Carmen T — Google review
Beautiful park. Trails are very easy to follow, we did about a 3 mile hike through this park and there were a lot of cool things to discover and find. It's awesome that there's a lake to swim in and it's really not a crowded spot. My son is excited to go back and swim. Perfect for a picnic and just a great relaxing day. Lots of shade. Definitely bring bug spray, not so much mosquitos but the black flies were everywhere and constant. Overall a very lovely place to visit and check out. We did it as a part of sky's the limit 2022 challenge, and the only think I'd say that was difficult was that the cemetery was not on any of the maps, and on Google maps it shows it's in a different spot than it actually is. It is right before the first parking lot on the right going into the park, it's small and easy to miss and there really aren't any signs for it.
Aurora R — Google review
Beautiful Hike, the "beach" isn't really one anymore its all grown over with grass. Plenty of picnic tables all over, there is a building that says it has restrooms and a changing area not sure of the condition i didn't go inside. Plenty of water all around my dog had fun swimming. Was relatively clean not a lot of trash. Some of the trails are pretty narrow due to them not being used enough and not getting cut back but still enough room for one person to walk thru without having to fight through the brush. Great little maps throughout the trails which is very helpful!
Charlene — Google review
9.25.22 Lots of parking with porta potties close by. Hiked the 4.9 mile red trail which was an essy, flat loop. Only passed 2 other hikers. Saw many types of mushrooms and leaves are definitely changing color. Very peaceful.
Margaret H — Google review
This was my first time coming to this park and just fell in love! From the water views you get to the great trails. Such great history here to boot! To see some of the old foundations that still exist and then ti find the cemetery as well. Plenty of space to park and enough trails and places to wander that you dont feel on top of everyone else that has come to enjoy the park as well!
Amber E — Google review
Trails are mostly well kept except just one strtch on the 5 mi outer loop trail. Otherwise a great place different lengths moderate trails swimming pond camping sites restrooms picnic areas skying - love to go there anytime whether am full of energy or tired whether winter or summer -

It is a really beautiful park. There are plenty of trails to hike. There is the ruins of an old mill, as well as some cellar foundations. There are plenty of picnic tables. The pond is also stocked.

The best assortment of freshly made chocolates and confections. I cannot say enough how wonderful this lovely shop is! You must try their version of Dubai chocolate, it is heavenly!
Deborah D — Google review
This place is a little gem, but not so little! They pack a huge variety of candy, treats and gifts from chocolates, hard candies, mints and even some hard to find old fashioned candy. A side room features their kitchen where the elves were busy making home made candy canes this day but sometimes the smell of chocolate is dizzying! The canes were the reason we discovered this store! We got Maple, Vanilla, Molasses, and Peppermint. While we were there we picked up some cream filled home made chocolates and caramel. Trust me your will enjoy your visit!

A great big chair that is the mascot of Gardner, MA! Go take a picture with it and if you're there in October, the Freemasons of Hope Lodge are selling pumpkins to raise money for charity! Stop by!
William C — Google review
It’s a chair , big chair . Fun spot to stop by and have a selfie !!
S P — Google review
It was fun to see. Not much beyond a giant chair you climb and sit in.
Michael T — Google review
It’s a giant chair. Worth it to stop by and see it once, but no real reason to ever come back in my opinion. It’s only like 5 minutes worth of fun.
Mike L — Google review
The giant chair of Gardner. Worth the detour if you are in the area. Easy to park on one of the side streets or the school when not in session. Stairs lead down from the school to the grassy area the chair is on. It is in pretty good shape and it is possible for some folks to climb up for a photo without much help, some might need an 8 foot ladder. Other interesting sites nearby.
W G — Google review
This is a land mark for all who grew up in the Gardner Mass area. Fun to take pics with and very well preserved
Kelly P — Google review
One of my favorite roadside attractions. I used to stop by every time I was traversing Route 2, and now I live close enough to visit it on my weekend bike rides. A must visit for fans of local history and/or traditional furniture.

Stadium Theatre

Performing arts theater
Concerts & Shows
Theaters
This restored circa-1926 venue offers musical, comedy & dramatic performances plus classes.
We went to see a taste of Ireland very recently in this charming little theater. Charming good old fashioned theater that took me back to when I was a child. The freshly refurbished murals painted all around lended to the cabaret feel. The seats were very comfortable though not very wide. Handicapped accessibility is awesome here. Concession costs were quite reasonable, And the staff was wonderful! They really seem to be enjoying their work! Of course the entertainment was brilliant and the whole performance was relaxing and yet invigorating.
Donna B — Google review
Went to see A Taste of Ireland here. Show was amazing, theater has this feel to it that puts you in another time period, such an awesome experience. Great concession stands and staff was super helpful. Loved the decor, adds to that vibe of the theater, and the vibe is great!!
Jesse G — Google review
Very beautiful old theater. Great prices. Staff is very friendly. Sound is great. Seats are a little bit tight but doable. I've enjoyed many shows over the years at that this theater.
Jeff O — Google review
Wonderful place for shows! A little known secret is their education department. My child participated in summer stage classes, school break classes and loved it every time. She entered for summer stage the last two summers. It’s a wonderful learning opportunity for her. This fall she finally is running a class and getting paid! We love stadium theater.
Jodie S — Google review
Wonderful selection of shows! Comfortable seats and great acoustics ! What an elegantly restored ornate music hall. Lobby has great drinks and old fashioned snack bar with fresh popcorn! We go back again and again!
Jen S — Google review
What a great venue! My husband recently played at the Stadium, and the venue is impeccably run. The staff (volunteer) are kind, gracious, and outright amazing. The facilities are beautiful and the sound system is killer. One of the nicest renovated turn-of-the-century theatres I've had the pleasure of visiting.
Cindi G — Google review
Went to see the Tribute ELO Show not the cover band with my wife on Nov1st. If you closed your eyes you would say you were at the real show and not exaggerating!! Incredible show and evening ! Everything is so convenient. Free parking you can almost throw a rock and hit it your so close to the Stadium and the restaurant where we ate. We ate at Ciro’s Tavern. Had a Medieval theme and a very different atmosphere. A lot of people going to the show and we had a good time there and we met a lot of nice people. The food is Not Your Mother’s Cooking but good enough since it’s right there. We walked to the theatre it’s so close. Beautiful Theatre every seat is excellent. Nice little cocktail setup with beer, wine, etc. The staff is very nice and they make excellent drinks both rounds ! We walked into the theatre and the show was starting in 5 minutes. We could not believe the sound system in there ! Perfect sound !! The bass was great , the lead singer and everyone else was crystal clear. Now the band. Never heard any band duplicate the songs they were playing to the tee and you know ELO has so many instruments and sounds combining in each song. It is just amazing ! The only bad thing is they ruined us seeing another tribute or cover band because no band will ever come close to what we saw and heard that night ! I guess that’s the results you get when you have been doing it for over 10 years together ! See you March 7th in the Norwood Theatre. I hope they have a sound system like the Stadium or we will be disappointed !

Fruitlands Museum

Mentioned on

Museum
Hiking area
Fruitlands Museum is a historical museum located in a farmland setting dating back to around 1914. The museum houses an array of Native American artifacts, Shaker documents, paintings and more. The rolling views of the area are stunning with Wachusett mountain visible in the distance. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful greens that stretch for miles and miles surrounding the museum. Guests can dine and dance under a tent while enjoying bright warm light with unobstructed views of the surrounding scenery.
Went here for a wedding. Really beautiful area, massive fan. Location is great staff is awesome. Reception area was really nice too, well laid out. Food was fantastic, really really good. Especially for wedding food. Didn't go to the museum itself or anything, so I unfortunately can't offer any feedback there They had PLENTY of parking. Huge grass field with cones. Huge bonus. Overall this was a fantastic wedding venue. However! The US flag was not lit at night, constituting a section 6a violation of the US flag code. (mostly kidding, but light your flags at night everybody)

I had the opportunity to DJ the Bromfield Junior and Senior Prom at the Fruitlands Museum—what an incredible venue! It was my first time there, and I was absolutely floored by the scenic views and natural beauty all around. I was set up in the tent, which was spacious, well-maintained, and perfect for a celebration. The staff were friendly and helpful before, during, and after the event. I truly hope to return and be part of another event at this amazing spot!
David G — Google review
My daughter and I really enjoyed our visit to Fruitlands Museum! We learned so much about the history of the area, from the Native American and Shaker communities to the fascinating story of the Alcott family and their transcendentalist experiment. The exhibits were engaging, educational, and thoughtfully presented. We’ll definitely be returning again. The museum was a special place to explore together.

Visited The Fruitlands on Saturday, October 11, 2025 for the 1 pm Raptor Demonstration. Henry Walters from NH Raptor Rehab showed us a Red- Tailed Hawk, a Gyrfalcon and a Harris Hawk. He was very knowledgeable and answered a lot of questions. He left other participants wear the heavy glove and the Harris Hawk flew onto it. It was fascinating! We also went to the Cafe and had awesome squash soap and a Little Leaf salad. Very enjoyable.
Ellen G — Google review
This is a very nice place to visit. The museums were pretty cool especially the native American exhibit. It would be nice to see more local native American stuff though. I liked the statue too but the scenery walking the trails were the best part and that's part is free. I highly recommend visiting here.
Dj B — Google review
I wish it had a different name and minus the rainbow flag. This is Christian history. Despite some eventual disception believing the leader was Christ, Shaker history is full of Holy Spirit-led shaking and dance. This is a great example of how God does not take back gifts He gave despite no repentance. It was also disappointing there is no video to watch them shake and dance. Check them out on youtube and then I guess you have to go to a nearby church like Crossroads to see and experience manifestations of the Holy Spirit.

What a great time. The people in each building were so knowledgeable and encouraging of our kids. They knew all the details down to the plants around the building.

57-acre spot on the site of a WWII army hospital, with open space & trails, plus a chapel.
Nice place for all ages. Good for kids. Artist playground inside is nice and different. Plenty of dogs on walks as well. Plenty of benches to sit on and nice open spaces all around. Decent amount of free parking as well. Great place overall for some fresh air and exercise.

Best municipal park in the City of Framingham, MA, for all ages: Most used aspect of the park is for walking and biking on the paved circuit (up to 1.1 miles around); play area for younger children; open fields for frisbee and other recreational activity (including picnics). Ample seating (in good condition) is provided along the paved circuit. Three parking lots on different sides of the park are available to the public. Really excellent place for physically disabled persons with walkers or wheelchairs. (No electric motor scooters or bikes — don’t know whether this is a formal regulation, but community standards in this regard are respected.) Farm Pond Park is across Dudley Road from Cushing and also very popular place, with its own parking lots and access point for Farm Pond.

Review: Park Visit on February 23, 2025 Today, on February 23, 2025, we visited the park, but unfortunately, our walk was overshadowed by the fact that most of the pedestrian paths were covered in ice. We kindly ask the park management to pay attention to the quality and safety of the pedestrian walkways, as this could lead to injuries. Thank you! Olga

This is one of the park that are on the top of our list. It has got a long loop for your walk. I see people from all age groups enjoying. Kids enjoy their bike / scooter. Lot of green area / picnic tables / parking areas. The walking path is very wide and you feel relaxed. I have seen many new trees are getting planted from arboretum. Definitely Maintenance is the priority. I don’t mind driving few miles to be this lively place and get the positive energy. Update - 8/26/2023 - the charm and beauty continues to attract the goodness in you.

Drove there specifically to check it out. If you are local, it's certainly a really nice place to hang out. There's a unique path through the reservoir, bike/skateboard park and even a fenced in dog park. But I don't think it's worth driving for more than 30 minutes.

Wrentham Village Premium Outlets

Mentioned on

$$$$affordable
Outlet mall
Wrentham Village Premium Outlets is a popular open-air shopping plaza in Wrentham, known for offering a wide range of well-known brands at discounted prices. The outlet mall features over 170 retailers, including premium brands like Gucci, Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, and more. The layout resembles a small town with walkable alleys and quaint storefronts. Visitors can enjoy shopping for women's apparel, shoes, accessories, and more.
Wrentham Village Premium Outlets is a great spot for shopping lovers! There’s a wide variety of brand-name stores like Nike, Coach, Polo Ralph Lauren, and more, all offering decent discounts. The outlet is clean and well-organized, with plenty of parking available, although it can get crowded on weekends and during holiday sales. Food options are okay, not a huge selection, but enough for a quick bite between shopping Mexicanfood , arabian falfel. Overall, it’s a good place for bargain hunting and spending a day browsing your favorite brands.

I recently visited Wrentham Premium Outlets and had a fairly positive experience overall. I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars. The first thing I noticed was how quiet the entire outlet was. Many of the stores were quite empty, which actually made shopping more enjoyable for me. I didn’t have to wait in lines, and the staff in most stores were very helpful and attentive because they weren’t overwhelmed with customers. It was easy to browse, try things on, and ask questions without feeling rushed. The outlet itself is spacious and clean, with a good mix of popular brand-name stores like Lululemon, Burberry , Polo Ralph Lauren, Adidas, and more. I found some pretty good deals, especially on clothes and shoes. However, not all the discounts felt significant — in some stores the prices were still a bit high even after the markdowns. Parking was easy, and the layout of the mall made it simple to walk around. I would have liked to see a few more food options though — the dining area felt limited. Overall, Wrentham Premium Outlets is a great place to shop if you’re looking for a quieter, more relaxed shopping experience. It may not be the best for huge discounts, but it’s still worth a visit if you enjoy outlet shopping.

A huge Outlet Shopping Mall in Wrentham, MA, USA, having more than 40 shops . Spacious, well designed, large parking area at entrance, walkways, Location smart boards,playground/ equipment for children, clean toilets, food carts ( though expensive). Have famous brands of apparel, shoes, jewellery, sports, toys and accessories and other luxury items (Polo Ralph Lauren, Tomy Hilfiger, Nike,Nautica,Calvin Klein, Sketchers,Old Navy, etc) and unfamiliar brands are available. No rush. Not much discount at stores, as may be expected by the aspirant visitors.Staff generally helpful. Food options are limited. No Starbucks available ( however, Aroma Joe's Coffee is there). Food Carts are looting the public with lesser/ inferior stuff. A good place to visit while going to Boston or Providence or on a leisure shopping ( Ideal location).

Wrentham Outlets is a great place to get a good deal, close to Providence and Boston. With premium brands like Salvatore Ferragamo and Versace, and other brands like North Face and Calvin Klein, the outlets offer something for everyone. I particularly liked the Ferragamo store where the deals were amazing.

Best outlet in Massachusetts. There are lots of known factory stores. Easy to find parking spots there. The layout is not great for a snow or rainy day. There is not much cover for bad weather. Restrooms are at two ends only, not in the middle of the complex.

The stores here have changed and, while I go here every few months, this last time was disappointing. No great sales and several of the stores I wanted to go to weren't there any more. Just make sure to check that there are places you want to shop (Lindt and Yankee Candle are usually on my list) or eat (this Tavern on the Square location is SUPER cautious about gluten allergies - highly recommend).

Jack's Abby Craft Lagers

$$$$cheap
Brewery
Microbrewery & tasting room with a beer garden offering craft lagers, pizzas & bar food.
I have had Jack's Abby saved in my "Want to Go" list for many years, and I was fortunate to be able to visit on my recent trip to MA with my family. I'm a big fan of the beer, which has recently become available in my home area of Northern VA. Of course, having their beer fresh on tap - and getting to try small-batch offerings only available on site was great. The food options were solid, even our young child found some great mac & cheese on the menu. I had an issue with my food, and I brought it to our server's attention. It was promptly replaced, and the manager bent over backwards to apologize and take care of our concerns. The customer service was absolutely stellar, the kind that makes you want to come back again and again! Hopefully we'll get to visit again on our next trip to the area. Keep up the great work, and please keep sending beer down south, it's top-notch!!

Enjoyed the Mai fest in the outdoor beer garden in perfect weather. Arrived early evening on May 16th. Began with a beer flight, especially enjoying Dark as Hell - a dark lager with notes of coffee and chocolate! I ordered the sausage platter and the house threw in their special mashed potato too. Not only that, we were all treated to a stein of pilsener from a live keg tapping! My friend and designated driver ordered the kale butternut squash and pomegrante pizza mind you which was also very tasty! Finally two orders of German Chocolate Cake rounded out the meal. Our waitress Delaney was very attentive. What a great experience!
Doug S — Google review
Not good. We ordered the buffalo blue wings that looked and tasted like they were sitting out and cooked again. Wings were tough and dry, definitely not looking like pics in other reviews. These wings were not good! Very little buffalo flavor. Asked for well done steak, got medium but we cooked it and seasoned it a little more so not pictured. We ate it cause it cost alot but disappointed with the quality
Nancy M — Google review
Good selection of beers. Nice ambiance. They had age limit in sitting areas, which was weird. The pizza bread and pretzels were overcooked/ burned. It was okay but nothing special!

Came in from Wisconsin to visit some friends, by far had probably the best meal I've ever had from a brewery, and what would probably be in the top ten meals of all time, the special swordfish risotto was unbelievably good, and I highly highly recommend it
Corey H — Google review
Stopped by after eating at a nearby restaurant, had a flight and every one was very good and I'm not much of a beer guy, the cider was very good, not dry like they say but it's a very solid semi sweet cider. Will be stopping by again to try the food as well as it all looked and smelled amazing
Nick L — Google review
The atmosphere feels like Chuck E. Cheese-lots of noise and more kids than adults. It’s definitely not ideal for a date night, though families with young kids might enjoy it. The food and beer are good, but the environment takes away from actual experience of being at a brewery.
Hope G — Google review
This is a tough one. Jack's has terrific beers, solid food offerings and knowledgeable, friendly staff who really make Jack's one of of the "must visit" craft taprooms. BUT and this is a BIG drawback: the kids running and screaming throughout the beer hall make the experience noisy and unpleasant. The room is large and echoey and that amplifies the screaming and noise. With all the kids.... the experience is like having a beer at the local YMCA or Dave & Busters. We sat on the front patio to get away from the screaming....but it was everywhere, even through the glass. We have kids. We like kids. But it's really over-the-top at Jack's. If you have kids and you take them out with you when go drinking...ok? But, I've brought colleagues to Jack's for drinks and post-work adult conversation, met coworkers for drinks and had team drinks and dinners at Jack's...but no more. As for date night....hard pass. In the future, maybe if we do Jack's...we'll do takeout and buy 4-packs to go from now on. Know before you go.

Huge selection of slot machines, friendly staff. Went on a weekday, wasn’t crowded at all. I will be coming back for sure
She3gotit — Google review
I was conflicted in my review because there are no dealer tables, and it's a small casino, but it's very close. I did love the live entertainment and plenty of parking. The food is good, but I was surprised they only had one person working the cashiers booth. It's like they want you to use the automated cash out machines, but there's no signage to direct you to them. It's a fun place to take your friends for a night out that's local and something different.
Joey D — Google review
Run for your life! I have never had a worse experience at any casino ever! I was just passing through on my way back from Foxwoods when I saw this casino and decided to stop by. $1000 gone with $5 bets without getting a single feature. Not one free spin, not one bonus game, not even a single win higher than $16. I play casinos all up and down the east coast and this is the biggest scam casino ever. I should have been tipped off by how angry everyone seemed. I’ve never seen so many old ladies cursing at the machine they were playing. On top of that the machines are seriously filthy, the screens are so deteriorated it’s hard to see some reels, and there are distracting advertisements for gambling addiction programs on some machines. The main game I played I play at every casino I go to, it’s my favorite, and usually you get some little feature every hundred dollars or so, this one, $1000 and nothing. I also just wanted a simple bottle of water to drink while I was gambling and there was nothing to be found. They have a sign that says “drink station” but the drinks have been removed and replaced with slot machines that look like they are from 1980. The only drinks that seem to be available are alcoholic. The carpet smells like urine in some areas. For context, I spent all day yesterday at Foxwoods playing the same games on that same amount of money that only lasted 30 minutes at this scam of a casino.
Lucas F — Google review
We always have an issue at this casino. My wife won $68 on a slot machine then it only paid her out $34. We waited over 30 minutes for assistance. I was screwed before when I played the digital roulette machine. I hit a number straight up and then my station went into an error. Then the casino said they don’t see any record of my last bet. If you’re looking to throw away money, just send it to me. At least I’ll say thank you. It’s unfortunate because Plainridge is close to our home, but we always leave disappointed.
Mike P — Google review
Booked a weekend for this casino last weekend. Was so excited to go only to be let down and disappointed. Our favorite slot machine game is fire link fireballs… they had like 12 machines that were in the worst condition I have ever seen… all other machines throughout casino were new.. ultimate fire link was in such bad condition , the spun with skips in them , pictures made you dizzy and even the spin button was knocked out of its hole laying stuck in a crooked position .. unbelievable!!!!!!!!! I will say the food was great at the pizzeria .. pasta was awesome.. we ended up going 30 minutes away to Bailey casino from then on the rest of weekend.. Will never go to plainridge again due to their neglect on a extremely popular slot machine.. all 12 in horrific condition. Very disappointing!!!!!!!!!

This casino rocks. They pay out ridiculous amounts of money. It's always a great time there. I went there yesterday and won $2000 dollars. The ESPN BET restaurant has amazing food. Super fresh and good. I highly recommend.

The casino is small compared to the other big names, but it's a lot of fun. I even won ten bucks on the video blackjack machine! I hope to come back on a live racing day. Definitely check them out if you're in the area.

Visitors can enjoy fishing along the river and observe various wildlife such as birds and fish. There are porta potties and trash cans available at the entrance for convenience. In addition to the recreational opportunities, there is also a municipal park with a recreation field located within Mine Falls Park.
This is the second time I've been here and tried different paths, both times such a great place to enjoy nature. We actually spent almost 2 hours walking trails and could have spent so much time exploring more. If you are looking for an enjoyable time exploring nature, this is a must visit.

Great park! Its very well kept and the views are very serene and pretty. My husband and I did some fishing, spent a whole morning walking and fishing. Everyone was super friendly as we walked along which was nice. Trees were gorgeous, trails were well marked. Dog and kid friendly! There are some baseball fields but from what I understand you have to get a special permit to play on them. Either way, I grew up around baseball so I appreciate seeing the baseball field. Plenty of parking and bathroom is convinient

Beautiful park. There is a huge soccer with grass stadium, and walking trails along the Nashua river. Beautiful views and foliage.

Beautiful trails for the area. There are many trailheads to access the trails within the park. A full loop is about 5 miles, but there are many options to customize the route to your needs. Most of the trails are level terrain, wide and easy to follow. There is one section (Purple trail I believe) that is paved. Highly recommend for all ages and ability levels.

As you stroll along the walking path, you'll encounter hundreds of these stunning creatures fluttering freely amidst lush vegetation in a warm greenhouse environment. This enchanting attraction also features birds and koi fish, making it an educational haven for nature lovers of all ages.
This was an awesome experience! The toddler wasn't too sure about butterflies landing on her, but she thought they were very pretty! Our 5 year old was THRILLED that two different butterflies, including a Blue Morpho, landed on him. This was an amazing experience for children and adults. It is VERY warm inside the butterfly enclosure so dress appropriately. You can also take breaks if you get too warm. There is a cute little picnic area out back and the gift shop was very reasonably priced.

My aunt and I visited a few days ago and had a great time! The atrium is completely full of hundreds of beautiful butterflies and greenery. The staff were personable, knowledgeable, and informative. We spent about an hour and a half soaking in the surroundings and about ten minutes peeking through the indoor exhibit. I’d love to go back sometime. Can’t forget to mention the little quails, too!
Justine P — Google review
What a magical place. Brought our three kids ages 3, 4 and 6, they thoroughly enjoyed seeing the many beautiful butterflies. The butterfly area has brick paths winding through beautiful gardens. The educational area had smaller exhibits with unique species. There is a big covered area outside with picnic tables. Ended up spending a little over an hour with the butterflies. There is a staff member in the butterfly area to answer questions. Probably not as exciting for older kids unless they are interested in butterflies/flowers.

Love it here! Came when I was really little and hadn’t been in ages. Decided to come again and was so happy I did. SO many butterflies, kind and knowledgeable staff. Very homey and cute. There were even button quails running around! Felt like I was in a fairy garden.

It was a beautiful experience to see you those stunning butterflies! Definitely worth the trip! Great for family outings for the little ones. Plenty of parking! Hefty entrance fee of $14.00, a little high for just going in and out, the stay is no more than 1 hour.

Took my family here on a weekday during spring break. Tons of butterflies and bugs to look at. The woman at the counter said to wear white to get the butterflies to land on you. There were a lot of kids there and the space can fill up quickly as it is small. I recommend getting there when they open.

The staff are professional, energetic, and very supportive. They take the time to explain everything clearly and make sure you feel comfortable before your flight. Plus, the facility offers other attractions like indoor surfing and rock climbing, which makes it a great place to spend an active day. If you’re looking for a unique adventure in New Hampshire, SkyVenture is a must-visit!

Over the last four months, I’ve spent around 8 hours in the tunnel at SkyVenture New Hampshire, and I’m continually impressed by the quality of instruction, the facility, and the overall experience. I’ve been working toward advanced Level III–IV IBA flight maneuvers, and the coaching here has been instrumental. Huge thanks to Kevin for going out of his way to get me a Vertical Indoor Skydiving suit—it’s made a huge difference in my progression. And Ben? Phenomenal. His deep certifications and instructional clarity have helped me refine skills I never thought I’d attempt. Also, being able to access and download my videos from over four months ago via the original emailed links is incredibly helpful for reviewing progress. Truly a top-tier wind tunnel facility.

Amazing! So many fun things to do! I went here for a 1 year anniversary and we absolutely loved it! I booked all the activities (skydiving, fish pipe, surfing, rock climbing, etc) all the staff were so nice and friendly, and it was such a cool experience. I totally suggest this for a date, party, or fun day activity!

Went to sky venture today as part of my birthday gift. I didn’t know what to expect, but my kids and I were met by young, energetic and friendly staff members who were happy and committed to make our experience a good one. The level of safety and professionalism was only surpassed by the surreal experience of flying. Very exhilarating and it serves as a great gift to give to clients and family. I can’t wait to return.
National F — Google review
I recommend Sky Venture if you’re looking for a fun, indoor, skydiving or surfing adventure! The sky diving is short though, it’s only 2 turns in the tunnel that go quickly, and there is an add on fee to go higher, but everyone loved it so it was worth it! We also did the surfing and that was about 15 minutes total (maybe 5 min per person) so also short, but no one complained. It is pricey, and due to the length of time for each experience being short is why I gave it 4 starts.
Nikki P — Google review
10 year olds first time indoor skydiving! He said it was so much fun. The instructor was informative, knowledgeable and able to communicate to the kids in the way they understand. Loved the ability to get photos on location, and all the staff were friendly and helpful! We will be back!

Fun & Games
Gillette Stadium, home to the NFL's New England Patriots and the MLS's New England Revolution, is a massive coastal-themed venue that also hosts concerts. The stadium underwent a $225 million renovation, featuring upgrades like the country's largest video board and a 218-foot tower offering panoramic views of the stadium and eastern Massachusetts. Visitors can easily access nearby attractions such as Boston and Providence from hotels like Hampton Inn & Suites Foxborough-Mansfield.
Gillette Stadium is pure football heaven. The moment you walk up, you feel the history and the heartbeat of New England fans. Inside, the energy is unmatched—every seat feels like part of the action, and when the crowd roars, you feel it in your chest. The Pats–Panthers game this week was electric, the kind of atmosphere that reminds you why this place is called the home of champions. Yes, traffic and parking are what you’d expect at a massive stadium, but once you’re in, it’s all worth it. Great views, clean facilities, and a fan experience that makes you proud to be here. Foxborough is where memories get made. Go Pats! 🏈

This June, we were thrilled to visit here since we hadn’t been in for many years. Finally, we made it. We really enjoyed it so much - all of the entire Gillette Stadium area! We spent 5 hours walking around and also went to the Lighthouse for viewing Gillette Stadium, which was amazing to see from the top. The Lighthouse attendant was meh. Later, my friend, who hadn’t been here for years, came back here with me last week, and I gave her a tour. We went back to the Lighthouse, and I asked a question to the new (top) attendant, Dylan, but he admitted that he was new. He is a very nice guy, very helpful, humble, and led us to the views with his explanation. We were very impressed with him better than the first one. I just want to say that Dylan is the best Lighthouse (top) attendant! Applaud Dylan for his excellent job!

Go Pats! We visited from out of state. Great facility for football fans. The pro shop is well stocked, the museum is great and the view from the lighthouse is spectacular! The lighthouse cost $5 per person, well worth the expense. Unfortunately, our vacation dates didn't align with a home game...

Great place! Gillette Stadium is a great place to catch a game or concert. The views from the seats are solid, the sound system is powerful, and the crowd makes every event feel bigger than life. Whether it’s a Pats game or a show the atmosphere is great. Beyond the action, the stadium itself is well-kept and easy to navigate. The food options are solid, and Patriot Place next door has plenty of spots to eat or hang out before and after. One of the coolest features is the new lighthouse making the venue stand out in a way that feels unique in Ne. If you ever get the chance to go, it’s absolutely worth it.

One of the better NFL stadiums I've been to. Very fan friendly. The ramps are gradual inclines, and there are alot of them. Food is decently priced for stadium food and is pretty good! Didn't look like there was a bad seat in the house. Overall a great experience for this Steelers fan.

The Patriots Hall of Fame

The Patriots Hall of Fame is a technology-rich museum located at Patriots Place, dedicated to showcasing the history and memorabilia of the New England Patriots. Even if you're not a die-hard Pats fan, you can't help but be captivated by the legacy of the Brady-Belichick era, widely regarded as one of the greatest dynasties in professional sports.
3rd visit today—every time is phenomenal. The Brady Statue exhibit was incredible, and I really hope it becomes a permanent fixture at the Museum. It absolutely deserves a home here. It actually got me thinking: we should also have an exhibit dedicated to our Super Bowl losses. As painful as they are, they’re a huge part of our history. Everyone remembers the Eagles loss and those two brutal heartbreakers against the Giants. I’ll never forget the Patriots-Packers Super Bowl in ’96—that was the first Pats game I clearly remember watching as a kid. And to this day, I feel like we don’t talk enough about our very first Super Bowl appearance against the Bears. Those AFC Champions paved the way. Even looking back at Brady’s 2006 AFC Championship loss to Manning—up 21–3 at the half before the comeback—that game was historic in its own right. Or the dominant 2007 Brady/Moss team that steamrolled the league. Wins or losses, these teams helped define the franchise. What’s wild is how similar this 2025 team feels to the 2007 squad—minus the explosive scoring (for now!). But the excitement is there. Brady’s teams used to win by a thousand papercuts; this new Vrabel era brings a totally different, refreshing style of gameplay. Honestly, those early teams—including that first Super Bowl run against the Bears—deserve recognition too. That was our first big stage moment, and it should be honored. Phenomenal visit. Can’t wait to come back again. Def pay the extra $5 to visit the Lighthouse tower when you’re here. It’s not available on game day but otherwise spectacular views of our stadium!

S dream come true coming to the PHOF! Such an awesome experience too. 3 stories high and you start your way from the top story working your way down to the gift shop which has a HUGE amount of official Patriots gear. Very interactive experience with simulators from kicking field goals to challenging plays, to intercepting game winning footballs. Such a cool experience.

They did a wonderful job with the New England Patriots hall of fame. The history of the early years is fantastic. We met Frank, and he is very knowledgeable on the Patriots history. We also went up in the lighthouse. It was overcast ☁️ 😪 so the view was not very clear.

North Bridge

Mentioned on
20 lists
Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
North Bridge in Concord is a historic replica of the 1775 bridge where the first shots of the American Revolution were fired. It's located in a picturesque setting within Minute Man National Historical Park, surrounded by wooded areas and rolling pastures. The bridge holds significant historical importance as it was the site of a key battle during the American Revolution, marking the first American victory. Visitors can stroll through Colonial-period stone walls and explore plaques that add to its historical aura.
A must-visit for anyone interested in American history. The North Bridge is the site of the “shot heard ’round the world,” marking one of the first battles of the American Revolutionary War in 1775. The area is beautifully maintained with informative plaques and scenic walking paths. It’s a peaceful and quiet place to reflect, with a lovely walk along the Concord River and through the surrounding historic grounds. Perfect for a short, meaningful visit that blends nature and history.
Saja M — Google review
Beautiful September Sunday to take a walk from the adjacent parking to the visitors center at the top of the hill. There are lots of nice trails leading off the main path along the way. The river was low but lots of folks with rooftop boats enjoying the water. There was a memorial service in session on the grounds of the visitor center that was well attended by about 300 people. It is an easy walk with plenty to read and learn along the way. The parking lot was very full but luckily found one of the last spots. I would get there earlier next time. Not nearly as busy on a weekday.

It was absolutely beautiful, and it was amazing to be standing in a place of such meaningful history. It was also very cool to see the residences of people such as Louisa May Alcott in the way to the Old North Bridge, as well as the Old Manse of Ralph Waldo Emerson at the bridge itself.

Beautiful home and gardens. I noticed they have put up protections around a snapping turtle nest off the path - good conservation efforts! The park rangers were very well informed and I enjoyed the visit.

North Bridge in Concord is a quick and easy stop for anyone who appreciates American history. It's only 10 minutes from the main highway, doesn't cost anything to see, and its historical significance as where the Revolutionary War began speaks for itself. It's a quick and easy stop if you're just passing through, otherwise you can make a day of it with the area offering a myriad of other historical sites to visit in addition to North Bridge. All of this said, I highly recommend it as a stop for all lovers of history.
Jacob T — Google review
If you are interested in American history you should visit here. If you want a shorter walk, or have physical limitations, park in the lot off Monument Street. Regardless, also stop at the Visitor Center.

Really amazing experience to stand in the same place where the first fights go birth the nation happened. Incredibly beautiful lane that’s well maintained.
Anna W — Google review
Honestly, my emotions surprised me. The crowd dispersed briefly and I ended up on the bridge alone. It was beautiful, quiet and simple yet profound. The farmer statue reminds you of what happened here. There’s even a small tribute to the British who died at the battle of Concord. I didn’t realize Hawthorne bought the adjacent land. Take time to travel Author’s Row along the drive up from Lexington. Definitely a location worth visiting!!

Sleepy Hollow Cemetery

Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, located in Concord, is not just a resting place for some of America's most brilliant writers and thinkers but also has a rich history. Originally a nature garden under the supervision of Ralph Waldo Emerson, it now houses the graves of notable figures such as Henry David Thoreau and the Alcott family. The cemetery was once a popular spot for locals to take walks and inspired William Ellery Channing's poem 'Sleepy Hollow.'
Wonderful cemetery with, among other headstones, many famous authors buried in one section. The landscape is sprawling, very peaceful place to be. I spent a few hours here and would love to return - I did not see it all.
Theresa J — Google review
What an emotional place to visit! Entering the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery through the second gate from Concord's historical center, you'll find signs pointing to the Author's Ridge. On a narrow one way road, you'll quickly reach it - there's room for no more than four or five cars to park at any given time. There's a steep walk to the graves of our beloved famous authors - starting with Hawthorne, followed by Henry Thoreau, Louisa May Alcott and further along is the tomb of Ralph Waldo Emerson. It was lovely to see their graves with tender notes and multiple pencils and pens, even pebbles. It's a beautiful place to honor and remember these wonderful minds that improved our world within their lifetimes. It's a must visit if you're going to Concord MA, and it's open to the public daily from 7am to dusk.
Livia L — Google review
Great old cemetery. This place is huge, so allow some time to wander and check out the grounds. Luckily, you can drive through it. It took us a minute to find Authors Ridge, but we finally did. If you are close to Concord, it's worth going.
Nora C — Google review
Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord is more than just a burial ground — it’s a quiet, leafy sanctuary steeped in history. The highlight for many visitors is Authors Ridge, a peaceful hilltop where some of America’s most influential literary voices rest: Louisa May Alcott, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Henry David Thoreau. The path up to Authors Ridge winds through a mix of shaded and sun-dappled spots, and when you arrive, you’re greeted by simple, humble gravestones surrounded by offerings left by admirers — pens, pebbles, flowers, and handwritten notes. There’s something profoundly moving about standing there, imagining the words these authors wrote not far from where they now lie.
Mark V — Google review
We really enjoyed our visit to Concord but in general, we found signage throughout all historic sites to be lacking. It took us a lot of time in the cemetery to finally locate authors ridge. The cemetery is obviously quite old so walking is not the easiest. It is also very hilly. It would be great if there could be better signage, so that people did not need to wander through the cemetery in search of authors ridge. The actual viewing of the graves was very moving.
Fran K — Google review
Gorgeous. If you are looking for Author's Ridge, go far down the street until you see the signs, then enter. The grounds are massive. Stunning. Drop-dead beautiful. I can spend years here... I probably will. Visit while you can—
Zillah — Google review
An amazing cemetery! Check out authors ridge and also notice the engravings on the tombstone. These were very resilient people. Their tombstone are noticeable not austere unlike the tombstones in the old burial ground that has more of the original founders of concord, which were puritans. Check out the visitor center for awesome tours! General history and specialized available!
T W — Google review
Beautiful cemetery. I normally like to walk at a fairly quick pace going through a cemetery but, this one felt peaceful. It was lovely to walk through and amazing to see the resting places of such notable, distinguished authors on Author's Ridge. Highly recommend.

I grew up in Concord and Walden was our town pond. I came to understand later in life that it is a special spot for people from all across the world. The clear water, ample beach space, and lovingly maintained trails truly make it one of the best ponds I have ever been to.

I visited Walden Pond while I was in the Boston area. This place is unique, serene, and peaceful, perfect for hiking, swimming, or relaxing. We hiked around the lake in late June. We also visited Henry David Thoreau’s small house and the original site where this famous writer lived and wrote American classics in the 1800s, seeking to liberate his soul. His desires from the 1800s convey strong messages to people living in the 21st century. I need to find a place where I can liberate myself these days.
Xavier K — Google review
Beautiful, peaceful, somewhat spiritual walk around the pond. I would recommend getting there in the morning if that’s the desired experience. I’m guessing it gets a bit busier later. Two notes: RWE cabin is long gone and a stone marker shows where it once stood. Parking is $30/car for out of state drivers ($10/in state).

Great bit of paradise just minutes out of Boston. Downsides: Parking difficult on nice days Overcrowded beach area on nice days Plenty of mosquitoes on hot humid Summer days.
DrDap — Google review
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. And we didn’t even leave the car. Didn’t do any research before coming to Walden pond and upon pulling into the lot we quickly realized dogs aren’t allowed. No big deal! We pulled over and started looking up other places in the area that we could walk with our pups. No dogs or humans had left the vehicle mind you and two female park rangers started aggressively yelling at me “NO DOGS ALLOWED” and I stated yes we saw. We’re just looking for somewhere else to go and the continued to berate me that no dogs were allowed, which I explained again I am aware, that’s why we are all still in the car looking for another option. After screaming at me for another minute they finally walked away. Bikes are not allowed in Walden park either and if we apply the same logic that the dogs can’t be here even in the car, the car next to us had a bike on the rack and that shouldn’t have been allowed either. The rangers were way too aggressive for the situation and it was a terrible experience even though we didn’t actually experience anything. People in the parking lot came up after to make sure I was ok because they were being so loud. Will not be back ever.

Louisa May Alcott's Orchard House

Sights & Landmarks
Louisa May Alcott's Orchard House is a historic mansion in Concord where the famous author wrote her novel "Little Women" and set the story. The home offers tours and special events, including educational seminars for all ages. Visitors can experience the 350-year-old halls that are filled with heirlooms and history. The Alcott family lived in Orchard House from 1858-1877, and it served as an inspirational setting for their literary works.
Felt surreal being in the spaces where Bronson Alcott raised his family and entertained literary figures like Thoreau, Emerson, Hawthorne, and I’m sure many more. It was wonderful to see Louisa May’s writing desk and hear stories of her and her sisters. I especially enjoyed hearing about the youngest sister, May, an accomplished artist and interesting figure in her own right. Many of her childhood drawings are on door frames and walls around the house, and her later art is framed all over. Tour was about an hour long with a lengthy video at the beginning. My 10:15 tour was split into two groups-with 10 or 12 of us in each. They were doing quite a bit of restoration and upkeep in the gardens and orchards. Beautiful property!
Carrie — Google review
The house is beautiful, and I enjoyed the video at the beginning. Unfortunately, the tour was ruined by the guide—an elderly lady who talks endlessly for her own pleasure, providing far too much disorganized information, sometimes almost 15 minutes per room. She was also aggressive and unpleasant. No pictures are allowed, and you can’t look at anything on your own without her shouting at you. Overall, it was a very unpleasant and boring experience, which is in stark contrast to the charm of the book and the story of the writer.
Giustiniano — Google review
This was a surprisingly great activity and we were happy we decided to go, we almost didn't. The tour was informative and the house was actually such an old classy place. We were so honored to walk through history!

A beautiful journey into American literary history! Louisa May Alcott’s Orchard House in Concord, Massachusetts is an absolute treasure for anyone who loves literature, history, or simply charming New England architecture. Nestled among peaceful trees and crisp autumn foliage, the house immediately feels like stepping back in time to the 19th century. The home is beautifully preserved and lovingly maintained—its weathered brown exterior and teal front door are both inviting and historically authentic. Seasonal touches like pumpkins and a welcoming wreath at the entrance added warmth and charm during my visit. Standing on the pathway leading up to the house, it was easy to imagine the Alcott family living, writing, and dreaming here more than 150 years ago. Inside, the guided tours are excellent—thoughtful, informative, and full of fascinating stories that bring Louisa May Alcott’s world to life. You learn not only about her writing of Little Women, which she completed right here in this house, but also about the extraordinary Alcott family—trailblazers in education, social reform, and the arts. Many original family belongings are still in the home, including Louisa’s writing desk and May Alcott’s charming hand-painted artworks on the walls. The grounds are peaceful and picturesque, and the surrounding Concord area adds to the experience with its rich literary history—Walden Pond and the homes of Emerson and Hawthorne are just minutes away.

We visited the home of Louisa May Alcott Orchard House, " Home of Little Women" Concord Massachusetts. Highly recommended for a memorable experience. An interesting historical informative tour guide with family artifacts. Orchard House retains its charm from the time the Alcott family lived there from 1858-1877. The guided tour focused on Louisa Alcott's life and family history.

Really interesting house to tour through with great guides (we had Alya), who show true love and passion for the author and the rich history of the house. I never realised just how much of American history was based around this one small town of Concord (which I highly recommend visiting and finding her grave as an extra) and the shop has several books on Emerson etc as a reference.
The O — Google review
Awesome to see where Louisa May Alcott wrote Little Women, and learn about her unique family and friends. Our guide was excellent, and we learned interesting things - for example, she loves ked to go for a daily run through the woods, never got married, quickly made the equivalent of $20 million due to the popularity of her book. Beautiful artwork from her little sister, May (Amy, in the book), who benefited from her sister's success through professional art training in Europe. Well worth the hour we spent there (and street parking was easy and convenient).

Sadly we can't take pictures inside the Alcott house but I am leaving some pictures of the outside and the School of Philosophy that's right next to it. Although the tour is a little crowded and the house itself is really small, the introduction movie they display at the School of Philosophy is quite informative and the vibes are irreplaceable. It's a dive to the past, worth every moment! I definitely recommend a trip to the Orchard House and the historic Concord!

We like visiting this park often. It’s a peaceful place to walk & relax with a beautiful pond. It’s also a great spot for taking pictures, like for weddings or special occasions. Great park to walk and enjoy the scenery, nice playground and restrooms. Very clean and well kept up. The gift shop elephant barn is fun to visit. Only problem is, one couple had their dog off leash (not allowed, except in a designated fenced in area). Also, two teens on motorized bicycles were zooming around (also against the rules) on the walking paths. Otherwise, a very pleasant experience.

Minute Man National Historical Park, located along Route 2A near Concord Center, is a significant site in American history. It encompasses the route taken by the Redcoats during the Revolutionary War and features historical landmarks such as Old North Bridge and The Wayside. Visitors can explore the area where the first battle of the war took place and learn about Paul Revere's ride through reenactments on Patriots Day.
May is the perfect time to visit this place, when you will see the best of the spring in New England; and also get educated with American history along the way. Starting from the visitor center, you will be able to watch a video about the whole story; then get a map which tells you everywhere you can go and every parking lot it has. Aiming for a good spring-time hike, I enjoyed the farmland and North Bridge the most, but there are more things to see, such as the Orchard House (which offers you a nice guided tour with $15).
Wanyu H — Google review
Was disappointed to find the visitors center closed during the posted open hours. There were no rangers or anyone around. I'm sure that's due to governmental budget cuts and not the fault of park personnel. It's a beautiful park with incredibly preserved historical structures and plenty of informative signage. The trails are well-kept and there were lots of great birding opportunities and I saw turtles and frogs/froglets in the pond near the visitors center. I do plan on getting over here more since it's my local park.

Beautiful National Park with loads of American History. Walking paths galore, some shaded some without shade. Locals clearly enjoy the park for cycling and recreation. Two visitor centers, the main one has very limited hours, the North Bridge has more regular hours. Many rangers out throughout the park and available to answer questions and tell the history. Tours are also available for a fee. Park is also close to many other great historical spots in MA.

I learned so much more about American History! We only had one day to spend in the area. So we visited 3 sites: the North Bridge in Concord, the Minute Man National Historical Park in Lincoln, and the Lexington Battle Green in Lexington. We could have spent an entire week here visiting all of the Revolution sites as well as the literary sites from the Transcendentalist era, which I had no idea were so related! If you have time, rent a bike and follow the path of the British regulars as they were pushed back to Boston.

Very nice historical place, describing the beginnings of the American Revolution. I recommend the video at the visitor center and also walking the trail that connects the different building and places of interest. Concord is close by and worth visiting.

The Beginning of Independence! My daughter (13) and I visited the Minute Man National Historical Park on July 1, 2025. The Park Rangers were extremely knowledgeable and the park was in excellent condition. The Park marks the first "battle" of the Revolutionary War at Lexington & Concord. This is where things escalated to a point of no return between the British and the Colonists. Highly recommend visiting and taking in the very place that led to American Independence.

We loved this non traditional visitor center. you have to walk a ways but there ia a nice path, no stairs to the building. The mocie ia unique and aboit 45 minutes. We thought it was very good. Check the official website for times, they are different than the posted ones in the parking lot. They closed at noon because they dont have air conditioning.

Boyden Park is the most inspiring and diverse park that I've ever visited. It offers a lake, short trails, long trails, open fields, thickets, picnic tables, boulders, boardwalks, bridges, and stairs winding up, down, around the hills, and along the water. The park is a romantic getaway, a meditation center, a family picnic, or, perhaps, the source for the Great American novel.

This is my favorite spot in the area for taking my dogs on trail walks. The walking paths are clear and well-maintained. I appreciate the variety of trails available; there are some shorter paths for when I'm pressed for time, as well as a three-mile dam trail for longer walks.

Beautiful entrance but unfortunately that's all I got to see. I didn't realize you had to hike a bit and only had some time during my lunch break to kill. Would love to see what lies beyond with the trails. I didn't research it much before I went. But to pull in and park.. you won't be seeing much. But there are trails heading in all directions that lead to what appears to be Beautiful areas!

I saw at least a dozen dogs, and ALL were LEASHED!!!! Thank you Taunton!!! You have no idea how amazing it is for someone medically fragile (I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, which is like brittle bone syndrome except it’s my ligaments and tendons, not my bones, which are fragile) to be able to FREELY enjoy the park!!!! The quiet and fresh air were so so refreshing, and I wouldn’t have come if even one dog had been off leash (friendly dogs are the reason I dislocated my hip). So so grateful for dog parents who share the space, and show respect! This place has plenty of parking, a large picnic area, a children’s garden, and a variety of trails and restrooms (though those close around 4pm, while the park is open later). There’s even a bird conservation area when you enter, and it is so peaceful. I couldn’t make it the 1.5 miles in, but maybe I’ll work up to it as my body heals. Not flinching with anxiety every time a dog appears will help that. THANK YOU dog parents !!! Thank you park for enforcing this necessary measure!!!

Established in 1831, Mount Auburn Cemetery spans 175 acres and is renowned as America's first garden cemetery. Nestled in Cambridge, it was designed not only as a burial ground but also as a Victorian-era tourist attraction. Today, it serves as a public park, arboretum, and wildlife sanctuary boasting over 5,500 trees and plants from around the world.
When running against time needs a pause and a moment to recall all the things you have achieved, sacrificed and missed while doing that, this is the place you come to. The place where the love of your life was buried or even if nobody is here you feel what I am trying to accomplish if I am not with my family anymore. This blurb is just what I felt, when I came here to Mount Auburn Cemetery, right in the heart of Cambridge. A hike, walk and picturesque location to remember forever.

This is probably one of the best kept (not so secret) secrets of greater Boston area! This place is absolutely amazing. While it’s technically a cemetery, it really feels more like a park. There are ponds, gardens and beautiful architecture throughout the 175 Acres of land here. It also boasts a collection of rare trees from all over the world (around 5000 trees in total) and is a huge draw for birders as it has an impressive variety/ diversity of them (due to the extensive ecosystem from all the rare trees I am guessing). I have literally seen countless rare birds here while not even trying to look. You can walk around for hours and not run out of new, beautiful things to see. There is also a tower that one is able to scale to see a pretty sweet 360 panorama of Boston and its surroundings. Now it is still a cemetery, but one where a lot of the graves and crypts are so beautiful you may forget people are buried here. Speaking of buried people, it turns out that Isabella Stewart Gardner (of the Gardner Museum is buried here - among many other famous folks). I can’t stress this enough: if you like beauty, alone time and tranquility, you have to check this place out! Now it is tech

Mount Auburn Cemetery is a hidden gem for a stroll! The serene paths wind through stunning landscapes and historic graves, some dating back to the 1800s. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset as we walked, creating a peaceful and reflective atmosphere. The blend of nature and history makes it a must-visit spot. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet place to walk in the city! 🌅🌳

This was my second visit to Mount Auburn Cemetery. My first time was in the fall, when the colorful leaves made the grounds absolutely beautiful. On this visit, my friend and I climbed to the tower at the top, which offers breathtaking 360-degree views of Cambridge and Boston. When we went, the place was quiet with very few people around - likely because it was a weekday - making it a perfect spot to relax. There is seating at the top where you can rest or even enjoy a picnic while taking in the greenery and scenery. It is a peaceful, scenic place that I highly recommend visiting.

This is a great place to come walk around and enjoy the scenery. I've been coming here for over 45 years and have always remarked on how peaceful Mount Auburn Cemetery can be. With all the different water features, trees and vegetation there is so much to see and observe and not to mention all the wildlife that call this place home. And the groundskeepers keep this place looking great!

Mount Auburn Cemetery is a lovely place to visit. There are some stunning memorials, including a sphinx. But it is also a great place to just walk around and enjoy some nature in the city, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Beautiful cemetery open to the public with beautiful views from atop Washington Tower. Definitely worth the 10-15 minute hike up to the tower.

This "garden cemetery" is stunning. It functions as a botanical garden, arboretum, and bird sanctuary. There are beautiful paths for walking and a tower that you can climb to enjoy gorgeous views of Boston.

With over 15,000 specimens representing more than 4,000 species, it's a paradise for botanists and nature enthusiasts alike.
I had my first visit here the other day and really enjoyed it. There’s such a wide variety of plant life and fauna that I don’t usually see in the city. I only toured a small portion of the grounds but was impressed with the design and welcoming environment. The bonsai tree exhibit was remarkable. I’m looking forward to visiting again, especially in the fall.

Absolute gem of Boston. One of the northeast's most impressive and comprehensive collection of landscape plants in my opinion. There are clean grounds, labelled plants, bathrooms, and plenty of sitting area. The ground are quite large and are jam packed with a slew of unique and spectacular plants. It is hard to put into works how beautiful and horticulturally significant this site is, so do yourself a favor and go check it out! Also, do check out the bonsai collection. There are a few impressive and very old trees.

I participated in the MassQ ball at the Arboretum this past weekend and it was an amazing event and experience. I feel as though I rediscovered or rather newly discovered hidden parts and paths Id never seen before. I've been going to the Arboretum since I was a little girl and it was like a whole new place for me. I can't wait to go back

The grounds host an extensive collection of trees, shrubs, and plants from around the world, carefully curated to showcase their beauty and diversity. Walking through the arboretum feels like exploring a living museum of horticulture, with each section offering something unique to admire. Seasonal changes bring new colors and experiences, from vibrant spring blossoms to the stunning foliage of autumn. The pathways are clean, well maintained, and thoughtfully designed to guide visitors through the expansive landscape, creating an enjoyable and accessible experience for individuals and families alike. Overall, the Arnold Arboretum is not only a visual delight but also a valuable resource for education and relaxation.

I love taking a walk and looking at trees - if you enjoy the same thing, it is a wonderful place for you! Tons of trees from all over the world - be them happy or not at the moment - nevertheless making it a beautiful collection in the nature. I wish the weather could have been better when I visited! p.s., the place is free, with street parking available (may have 2-hr limit, though).

Another great green space to take a nice walk and very dog friendly. Lots of extra trails off of the main paved trail. Lots of trees and plants to explore. Easy free parking.

Coolidge Corner Theatre is a historic landmark in the Brookline neighborhood, originally converted from a Universalist church built in 1906. The Art Deco cinema boasts four screens, including a plush main auditorium, and showcases indie, art-house, classic, and foreign films. Despite facing challenges with the rise of video in the 1980s, it was revitalized in 1989 and continues to offer a curated film experience.
Beautiful and historic. I love taking the Green Line and catching whatever is playing at the theatre. The workers here are exceptional as always and deserve to be compensated accordingly. They are the real reason people love this place. The theatre is a pillar of the community, and I hope they continue to be Brookline's best.

Watched One Battle After Another on a movie date with my girlfriend and it was a great experience almost like stepping back in time in the theater. Definitely will return. Nice to support an independent theater. Lots of cool older showings scheduled throughout the year.

I go once every 5 to 10 years to the monster movie marathon over Halloween. It’s extremely fun. It has been getting quite busy in the last five years so book your tickets early. They have a costume competition and it’s pretty fun.

My favorite independent local theater. The theater has a long history, and really gives you the feel and atmosphere of classic theaters, especially the main movie halls. They recently expanded and added some new smaller movie rooms, and a new area for buying tickets and concessions. They offer a wide range of movies, old, new, indie, and foreign. I love when they have themed movie events, such as Samurai Summer, or Kaidan ghost stories. I also think it's nice they offer midnight movies (often horror). There's a metered parking lot in the back, and metered street parking. There are wonderful restaurants in the surrounding area to grab food before or after your show.

Went to see the 30th anniversary screening of A Goofy Movie... fantastic location, amazing selection of snacks and an impressive alcohol menu. Loved the local feel of the theater.

With streaming services, I don't go to movie theaters a lot these days. So I figured if I was going to spend money, I may as well do it at an independent institution like the Coolidge, an indelible part of the Brookline/Boston community. It's an absolutely gorgeous theater! It was my first time here even though I've lived in Boston for a number of years now. I was in movie house 1, which I believe is the biggest they have. The art deco details on the walls and ceiling were stunning. Occasionally, I'd look away from the movie just to stare at the reflective designs on the ceiling. It's very clean and well-maintained; no sticky floors here. *cough*AMC*cough* I will advise to get here early; there are no assigned seats and it's first-come first-served. For reference, the line started forming 40 minutes before the movie was supposed to start. Only reason I'm not giving the whole thing 5 full stars is concession. The popcorn was covered in weirdly thick butter and there was no salt at all. And you want good popcorn to fully round-out a quality movie-going experience!

The Coolidge theater is easily my favorite theater and I've been going since I turned 18, I am now 34. I celebrated my 34th birthday seeing possession on the big screen which is something that I never thought would be possible, so thank you Coolidge, stay being cool

The John Fitzgerald Kennedy National Historic Site is the birthplace and childhood home of the 35th U.S. President, John F. Kennedy. Located at 83 Beals Street in Brookline, this historic site offers guided and self-guided tours for visitors to explore. The house was donated to the National Park Service by the Kennedy family in 1967 and has been meticulously restored to its 1917 appearance, with furnishings sourced by JFK's mother, Rose Kennedy.
My wife and I did a walkthrough. Being from the Dallas area and just miles away from the site of JFK's assassination, I felt compelled to visit the home where this great man was born. Although we did a self-guided tour, there were historians placed throughout the house to give us a more detailed explanation of what we were seeing.

Guided audio tour is FREE and totally worth it. Very sweet and very informative. Alex at the visitor center desk was a delight! Took me about 20 minutes to tour the house — if you have a free half hour in Brookline, would definitely recommend

We visited on a Thursday morning in mid-June 2025. There is limited street parking here in the neighborhood. We arrived just before opening but unfortunately there was a group tour that was booked in the first time slot of there are only so many spots on the tour. So we were not able to get to actually go into the house because we were on a tight schedule. We did take some pictures outside and if you follow the path around the side of the house, there is a visitor center in the basement of the house. It's completely ADA accessible as well with a wheel chair elevator. The visitor center isn't super big but they have all the park store merch lined up along the walls and there is a little area with a large television and chairs that I am guessing they play a short film on. To the left is is the main desk and they had the tickets to get into the house along with the NPS Passport Cancellation Stamps which is the main reason we came, other than trying to tour the house but that was no longer an option. We had other things we wanted to do that day. There is a bathroom right when you walk in and a water bottle filler. Overall the rangers were super nice and it was sad we couldn't tour the house. We would need to come back if we were in town and do this. It was worth the stop to just get the stamp.

Great piece of history. The Kennedy house is well maintained in its original form according to Rose Kennedy's memories. The tour guide was also friendly. There is also a gift shop, a modern toilet, and lockers to store your luggage (you need to ask staff for the keys). Entry is free and is 100% worth it.

Interesting site. I don’t think I realized that JFK’s dad built most of the family wealth after JFK was born. It was neat to see a different side of the Kennedy family.

Located on a shady neighborhood street the site is well maintained. We went on the tour of the house with a park ranger who provided excellent information about the family while they lived in the house. I am including a video of the outside of the house pulse the first floor rooms.

Fuller Craft Museum

Museums
Temporary exhibits & a permanent collection highlighting a great variety of crafts.
A hidden gem–off the beaten path! Small exhibition spaces which makes artworks accessible and a more personal experience. Beautiful gardens/outdoor setting. No crowd on a Saturday! Worth a short drive from the downtown/metro area.

I love this museum and it's the perfect size for a visit so it isn't as daunting of a museum as say the MFA. It also features a lot of local artists which is cool to see and if you're a Brockton resident it's free entry, again supporting the local community. It has a great gift shop right when you enter and I was able to get this bead hummingbird for as a gift for relatively cheap. I would highly recommend coming here and you could spend even more time enjoying the nature around the museum.

Such a nice museum to visit! I love the ocean part the most. It is very quiet and can see art work from different people from different backgrounds and age groups.

This small, two-story museum with an outdoor sculpture garden doubles as a venue for programs and events, weddings, and classes. Five exhibits were on display during my visit, including a portrait collection, illustrations by a local high schooler, a basketball-inspired installation, button-ladened fashion pieces, and sci-fi sculptures. The entire Fuller Craft Museum experience takes about an hour. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day. Admission is technically free, although donations are very strongly encouraged by the receptionist at $12 for adults and $10 for seniors, which is not listed on the website. This is among the few museums that has enough of seating options in its exhibit area, both indoor and outdoor. The entire space is well-lit and accessible for people using wheelchairs and limited mobility.

I can’t believe we’ve never been to the Fuller Craft Museum before today. It was a rainy Sunday morning so we took a ride down to Brockton to see some art. Wow we had a great visit and experience. We saw very unique art. Right up my alley. Five stars museum. Thumbs up 👍a must visit institution. It is free to get in but donations suggested. we paid full price totally satisfied.

Fascinating, eclectic, interesting. The exhibits were outstanding. The citation was fabulous. They ran the gamut from ceramics to paper to precious metals and glass. They have art classes available with top notch instructors. If you want to see tradition crafts with a modern spin, then this is the place to visit.

This place is free and runs on donations. I came with my family of 5, and it was nearly empty, which shocked me during February break. It is Beautiful!!!!! I feel like people must not know about this place. It is a gem. Perfect for kiddos to go check out bc it isn't too big and overwhelming. We went to see "The Red Dress," which was gorgeous 😍. Definitely take some time to stop by. You won't regret it! I can't wait to go back when it's beautiful out to explore the outdoors, too! Give a little donation, whatever you can, or not! It's not required. There is no reason not to go to The Fuller Craft!

The Massachusetts State House, also known as the New State House, is a grand building dating back to 1798 and serves as the current state capitol. Designed by architect Charles Bulfinch, this masterpiece of Federal architecture is located in Boston's Beacon Hill neighborhood. Its iconic 23k gold-domed structure makes it a prominent landmark in downtown Boston and a stop on the Freedom Trail.
A stunning building in the heart of downtown Boston and a perfect starting point for the Freedom Trail. Don’t miss the statues and monuments around it, and take time to enjoy the park out front. It’s a powerful piece of America’s golden history. They offer free tours, or you can wonder inside on your own.

Visiting the Massachusetts State House was a great experience! It was my first time seeing a place where government employees were working while tourists were walking around the building. The governor was in her office when I was in her reception room, and I also saw people coming out of the courtroom. At first, I thought I entered the building by mistake, because there were not many tourists, mostly people who work there. The atmosphere felt authentic and unique, giving me a real glimpse into how government functions on a daily basis. Truly a memorable visit!

The tour was fantastic, and I stayed to visit the library and special collections, which I hope to return to! Def appreciated the fish in both the senate and house chambers :-). Glad they have Frederick Douglass and are putting in a woman of significance as well in the senate chamber!

This is a must-visit place in Boston! You can explore the Massachusetts State House for free, and a volunteer guide offers tours that are both engaging and informative. It’s fascinating to walk through rooms full of history while seeing that the building is still used for government work today. The architecture and the view from the hill are also worth the visit!

Definitely recommend taking the free tour. I don't remember the name of our guide, but she started us a little early since a large group was coming through. She was knowledgeable and shared so many bits of information that we didn't know and we were impressed with the amount that she shared with us ... Great start to our freedom tour that day

🌍 My First International Trip: Into the Heart of American History Under Boston’s Golden Dome Visiting the Massachusetts State House in Boston was nothing short of breathtaking! 🌟 This was my very first trip abroad, and exploring such a historic landmark with a diverse group of travelers from around the world made it even more special. The free guided tour, led by an incredibly charming lady in her 80s, brought the building’s history to life. Walking through the very halls where leaders debate and shape the future of Massachusetts was an unforgettable experience. The architecture, designed by Charles Bulfinch in the late 1700s, is a masterpiece of Federal style. The golden dome, originally sheathed in copper by Paul Revere’s company and later gilded with real gold leaf, gleams as a symbol of Boston’s heritage. Inside, every corner tells a story — from the Senate and House Chambers to the Nurses’ Hall and the extraordinary Revolutionary War paintings. One of my favorite highlights was the Flag Hall, which proudly displays over 400 historic flags. The thoughtful system used to identify and organize them was fascinating and truly showcased the pride of Massachusetts’ military history. If you’re visiting Boston, I highly recommend adding the State House to your itinerary. It’s not just a tour — it’s a journey through American history, politics, and art, all under one golden dome. 🇺🇸✨
