We had not planned a trip on the dunes but were glad to have taken an hour to try it. We did not have experience but the staff set us up well and we had a good time. We were glad to have gone earlier in the day and before the peak tourist push (first week of June). While an hour was fine for us if we did it again we would rent for longer so we could access the beach OR have participated in a tour where the group follows a guide.
Ross A — Google review
We had an incredible experience with Spinreel. We did a guided tour since it was our first time in an ATV. Heidi, our guide, was awesome. Super friendly, patient and knowledgeable. She made us feel totally comfortable. The whole crew was amazing with a focus on safety and fun. Great group of people. Amazing family experience. Can't wait to go back and do it again.
Nanette M — Google review
Everyone working here was so great! From the helpful man at the front desk, to the extremely informative young woman that gave us our safety information, to the AMAZING young man who rescued us when we got ourselves mired in some deep sand that we were unsure how to get out of! We had so much fun! And don't worry! You can find challenges out there in the dunes, or you can find plenty of areas to play it safe and have fun! I would absolutely ride with these folks again!
Heather D — Google review
What an absolute blast it was to ride on the dunes, trails and on the beach in dune buggies from Spinreel Dune Buggy & ATV! The vehicles themselves were amazing, taking bumpy and sandy terrain with relative ease. The staff did a great job preparing our group for the area, the equipment and the whole experience. There was a variety of terrain to ride on, some allowing fast speeds, others requiring skilled steering and we had hours of fun, even though most of our group had never ridden a dune buggy before. I would highly recommend this experience and Spinreel Dune Buggy & ATV to anyone looking for an exhilarating dune buggy experience!
George M — Google review
My husband and I took the follow me guided tour and it was a blast! The thrill of going up and down the sand dunes was exhilarating! Plus with the added benefit of having our amazing guide Heidi, we didn't have to worry about getting lost had we done so by ourselves! Highly recommend this tour if you are looking for unique fun! 10/10!!
Emilee H — Google review
Rich and the staff were beyond amazing! One of the group members in our party was sick on our rental day and the staff was able to rebook one of our rentals for the following day when the person was feeling better. The breakdown of the map and dunes was very thorough and gave us good insight into what we would encounter. The only thing that may be helpful in the future are more detailed trail markers to get from side 1 of the dunes to the beach trail side of the dunes
Stephanie J — Google review
Great experience. Was a blast. Had the dunes to ourselves. Worth the time and $. We did 1 hour. Was all we needed to enjoy ourselves. Staff was pleasant and thorough. Highly recommend.
James D — Google review
Fun time, recommend 2-3 hour for 2 people. Got to drive on the beach and in the dunes. The ATVs all seemed to be well maintained and newer models. The people were friendly and helpful.

19th-century white brick lighthouse with adjacent Coast Guard museum, tours & gift shop.
I had no idea this was the only lighthouse that you can go inside of in Oregon! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and all the staff were very kind. The inside of the lighthouse is beautiful and well kept! It was really cool that they let you go up part-way into where the red lenses for the light are. Definitely recommend!
Angelina J — Google review
Beautifully restored lighthouse. The volunteers do a great job giving the tours. They have an art gallery also with lots of great stuff from local artists. The lighthouse is amazing to visit at night and see the light shining bright.
Vinnie's B — Google review
They offer an educational tour of the lighthouse, it was fun to see inside and climb to the top. Museum is small but is well done with interesting displays. The volunteers in the gift shop were a bit frustrated because it was so busy and they were short with people. Tour guides should be trained and not expected to just read information from notes. There were many questions they could not answer. Overall, a great stop and be sure to take time to do the tour.
J L — Google review
What a great lighthouse and museum. Not only can you learn a lot about the history of the area that you can go into actual lens section. Not sure there are many of these left in America so visit it while you can.
Kris K — Google review
Pretty great place to look over the ocean! It's an iconic spot to stop if your basing by and the sunsets are beautiful this time of year. Highly recommend come up here and enjoying the view if your in town
Westin O — Google review
Amazing place. Highly reckmmend getting the lighthouse tour. The volunteer provided us with a lot of information. The tour literally takes you inside the lighthouse lens at the top and yes, its operational, not retired.
Trip B — Google review
Great lighthouse with a red light! And you can go inside tower! Cool gift shop with food and ice cream! Neat museum included with admission of $8

Beautiful place. Take the lighthouse tour for only 8 dollars. Visit the gift shop and get some fudge or cookies or breakfast. They have many things.

Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area - Siuslaw National Forest Visitor Center

Mentioned on
10 lists
National forest
Nature & Parks
Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, located in the Siuslaw National Forest, is a paradise for adventure seekers. With 40 miles of wind-sculpted sand dunes, it offers opportunities for activities like sandboarding, ATV riding, and hiking. The area also features beautiful coastline for beachcombing and picnicking. Visitors can explore the stunning natural scenery surrounding Reedsport, including the Umpqua River and Winchester Bay.
Great Day adventure. Be warned state police have a station in this park and they are everywhere, including on 4-wheelers and in buggies. Very clean. Plenty of bathrooms. Places to clean your catch nearby or shuck some oysters if you find yourself wandering on the beach across the street. We look forward to another adventure at the dunes.

Amazing Sandscape Adventure at Oregon Dunes NRA (Florence, OR) The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area near Florence is an absolute stunner with endless wind-sculpted sand dunes that roll seamlessly into forest, lakes, and the ocean. A perfect blend of adventure and natural beauty! Eclectic landscapes—sand, sea, forest, and lakes all in one massive playground. Towering dunes (up to ~500 ft) great for hiking, sandboarding, or OHV rides. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side when we visited and it was very cold, windy and foggy but it was still an amazing experience Tips: -Bring layers and sun protection sand reflects sunlight hard! -Check trail or dune activity maps; some areas are seasonal wildlife zones. -Start early to beat wind and heat, especially if you plan to climb dunes.
Amin S — Google review
Hauntingly beautiful. I highly recommend renting dune buggies and taking a jaunt - but be careful not to get lost. The place is like being in another world. It's amazing.
Valerie — Google review
Very beautiful The bathrooms were clean The beach was nice And plenty of areas to sit under shaded trees
Victoria D — Google review
Beautiful and very convenient spot for family outing .This is one kind of spot where one can play both in sand and water
Ramakrishna — Google review
So much fun! Recommend to go on a weekday or off season as you get the dunes all for yourself 😊
Amalia M — Google review
The Oregon Dunes were our first stop when we got to the beach on this trip. Heading over the dunes and seeing the Pacific Ocean never disappoints.

Dean Creek Elk Viewing Area

Wildlife refuge
Nature & Parks
Nature & Wildlife Areas
The ladies were out lounging in the field when we arrived. Easy to access from the highway, and lots of parking, but we went on a weekday. Great for people with mobility issues, flat and lots of benches near viewing areas. There was also a cow hanging out with the elk, she seemed pretty chill ☺️
Holly W — Google review
This was an unexpected pee stop that turned into an amazing experience. The educational cards are very detailed and well organized, and the herd of elk was so beautiful and majestic. Within thirty feet of us a herd popped out of the tall grass and started grazing right in front of us, definitely had to stop and view for a few minutes.
Karissa B — Google review
I visited on July 22, but didn’t see a single elk at the time. Still, the wide open plains made it a perfect spot to pause and take a break from driving. The rest area features informative displays about elk and the local history, making it a worthwhile and educational stop. I recommend dropping by on your way back from a trip along the Oregon coast.
Kai D — Google review
Beautiful sprawling low land where the elks graze, sleep, raise their young and thrive! I've seen packs of males with incredibly huge antlers. They can come as close as on the road, so please slow down. There is a public restroom, plenty of parking and easy turn around for big trailers. There is also a resident bovine if you're lucky enough to see it! Enjoy and please don't litter.
Maryn C — Google review
RV Friendly Parking! Very nice viewing area… so glad there was ample parking for us as we are traveling with our 40 foot 5th wheel. We saw a herd of Elk in a beautiful setting. We also were glad they had nice clean bathrooms…
Allison W — Google review
What a great way to see the elk herd up close! I would suggest going earlier in the morning as they move towards the woods once it gets warmer. We parked in the side of the road and they were very close!
Rebecca R — Google review
Grateful viewing point area. Sometimes the elk herd is close by, sometimes they are further away. Nonetheless, though its a great experience and a great stop to stretch the legs while traveling.
R R — Google review
We had been looking for elk and found a whole herd at this viewing area! Added bonus was bathrooms and signs detailing the elk, birds and flora.

Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park is a sought-after destination owing to its picturesque hiking trails amidst stunning sand dunes, well-stocked freshwater lakes with boat ramps and 167 campsites. One can revel in nature's beauty and still have access to modern amenities like hot water, clean restrooms and accommodations.
Wonderful state park with sand dunes, lakes. Swimming and boating. Picnic areas and restrooms. A nice place to go for a day in the fresh air.
John R — Google review
Great place to hang out with the family and dog friendly. We drive to this park a handful of times a year. The restrooms are clean for being a state park and they charge $10 to park
David A — Google review
Absolutely beautiful campgrounds with lots of staff and park hosts around. Easy access to the dunes and other outdoor activities. Very nice that they have a spot you can buy fire supplies and stuff that was open until 8pm (on a Friday).
Jacob R — Google review
Wonderful campground. Trees are incredibly tall and plentiful. Camp hosts are very nice and bathrooms are clean. Stay away from "H" loop from October 1st through April because the ATVs will be loud at 7:00 a.m.
Lynn T — Google review
I spent 2 days here and enjoyed it quite a bit. They have a lot of space available for campers, some even have full hook ups with dump station right in your spot. It wasn't too noisy, besides inconsiderate campers but the staff was pleasantly respectful with the campers and not making too much noise around them, unlike other campgrounds I've experienced. They have quite a few spots available for hot showers, playgrounds, and hiking trails to dunes and ocean. My only complaint would be that some of the spots are not as private as I would like and it was impossible to book a site via online without getting an error message. I had to speak with a camp host who helped me get in touch with someone so that I could book over the phone. Overall it was a pleasant experience and I will be back. They are open year round but some loops are closed during the winter.
M M — Google review
Beautiful area. Super soft sand and a great swimming, fishing, kayaking, paddlboat area. Perfect for a day to play, weekend of camping, or an hour picnic. Right at the dunes and easy to find. Bathrooms are public bathroom clean. Equipment rental (boats & sandboards) were not open while we were there.
Sandra B — Google review
Best place ever to stay! Has lake, sandboarding, trails, clean bathrooms. We stayed for 5 nights, it was perfect!

Siuslaw River Bridge

Bridge
Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Siuslaw River Bridge is a historic drawbridge with ornate architecture located in Florence, Oregon. It was built in 1936 as part of the WPA project during the Great Depression. The bascule bridge spans over the Siuslaw river and offers picturesque views of the sand dunes. Its Egyptian-style spires and gothic-looking arches make it one of the most visually stunning bridges on the Oregon coast.
Oregon Coast road trip is not complete without experiencing the Siuslaw River Bridge! Interesting architectural design with historical significance. I enjoyed the bridges along US 101 Oregon Coast Highway. Loved it!
Rolando_ R — Google review
Cool bridge here - and while I can’t speak to the structural integrity of this bridge during the Cascadia Subduction Zone level earthquake, I can say it’s quite a nice site to look at from old town Florence. When being viewed from the new Rain Garden Park along the water near River Roasters Coffee, the view is beautiful. You can even see the Oregon dunes on the other side of the river. See the pictures below!
Anthony L — Google review
Love scenic Florence, Oregon! The bridge is beautiful, the sand dunes, river... all beautiful! A small, clean strolling town with interesting shops, galleries and great food! (Try some Oregon beers on tap while you're there).
Jen M — Google review
It was a very beautiful and historic bridge that I got to see and crossed it as well. It’s definitely an amazing historic landmark that I recommend seeing it had its history of creating this bridge as it was created in 1936.
Morgan S — Google review
Florence is a beautiful little town. The bridge is a bascule bridge (moving bridge) and was completed in 1936. Built during the great depression. There are some great spots to eat and shop and hotels nearby!
Olivia C — Google review
This is one of many arch bridges along the Oregon 101 highway. It’s a beautiful bridge that can be viewed all along bay st by the water fronts.
Davin — Google review
It's a bridge not much to say really, it's nice as bridges go keeps your car out of the water and lifts to let boats pass under.
Just J — Google review
Historic bridge with interestibg architecture. After you cross it going into town go to old town to see the lower pirtion of the bridge and stroll through the shops and restaurants.

Golden And Silver Falls State Natural Area

State park
Nature & Parks
Waterfalls
Remote wilderness site with canyons & 100-ft. waterfalls, hiking trails & a small picnic area.
Two beautiful waterfalls outside of Coos Bay. It's a bit of a drive, but the road is pretty scenic, and of course the waterfalls are spectacular. From the parking area, each falls is about a 15-20 minute walk, less than half a mile to each. To get close to Golden Falls, it does involve some very minor scrambling, and a climb up a steep, muddy slope. When we were there, a rope with knots tied it it was affixed to a large tree to assist climbing up the steep slope. It was fairly dry at the time, but still slippery, I'm sure if it was wet, the rope would really come in handy to aid climbing up the slick muddy slope. Also the rocks are extremely slippery, due to constant water spray and smooth surfaces. Use caution when hopping between boulders. Silver Falls is a bit easier to access, the trail is very flat and doesn't require as much effort to get close. There's also a cool little trail that winds down and between huge boulders and pops out near the outlet stream from the falls, which also has some cascades. A downed tree is the perfect spot to sit and relax and listen to the sounds of the falls and babbling stream. We spent a good hour at this falls, just relaxing in the shaded, cool area by the stream. Not a lot of visitors the day we went, but I'm sure in the heart of summer on a weekend it might be a bit more crowded. The long drive keeps the numbers down a bit though. Oregon has some amazing waterfalls, these are two really good ones!
Allan R — Google review
Nothing like spending a beautiful sunny day in Coos at the falls! It was a beautiful day and the mist from the waterfall was refreshing! Very easy hike but to get underneath it, you have to climb up big rocks and boulders.
Lbt81 — Google review
Great short hikes to some incredible views! There’s some spots where you should be very careful if you’re taking little kids with you. Some spots where you could go swimming. Bathroom and picnic tables at the beginning where you park. Couple different paths but all easy hikes.
Ashley H — Google review
This is one of my all time favorite places to visit in coos bay Oregon its a must see! So beautiful 2 very different looking water falls secluded in the forest! such a great hike out to them where you have 2 choices on how active your group is feeling! One trail is just a 20 min walk to the first water fall silver Falls easy access for all even with kids! The 2nd water fall is a 1 Hour hike to the other side of the 1st water fall silver falls & then up a trail to the 2nd water fall Golden Falls! This is a place that is harder to get to but... can be done! I Absolutely fell in love with this water fall!!!
Laci ( — Google review
This place is pretty amazing, I have been here multiple times. The scenery is definitely worth seeing. You can feel the water from the force of the waterfall. I definitely enjoy coming to Golden and Silver falls!!
Clifton H — Google review
Beautiful waterfalls definitely worth visiting. The road out there is partially gravel and sometimes can have a lot of potholes so be cautious of that. I drive a 2020 dodge challenger and have no problem getting there. I just take it slow and keep eyes open for potholes.
Jennifer M — Google review
Says it takes 30 minutes to get to the falls but it’s really only 15 minute hike, not too steep, but the falls are dwindling and there isn’t much left- probably better in the Spring and early Summer. But I showered in the falls anyways, it was beautiful and refreshing :)
Shiloh23 E — Google review
Lower falls was a very easy short hike and the upper was a little more moderate for length and climate but still pretty easy! Very pretty but careful of slippery spots!

Sea Lion Caves is a privately owned wildlife preserve and bird sanctuary that offers tours. This attraction features sea lions that can be observed in their natural habitat while enjoying the beauty of the area. Visitors will also find informational signs, exhibits, and an awe-inspiring cave to explore. The sounds and smells of the sea lions provide a unique experience for those who visit this attraction. Although there may be crowds during peak season, off-season visits offer a more relaxed atmosphere to enjoy this tourist destination.
Incredible experience! Visiting Sea Lion Caves was unforgettable. The views of the Oregon Coast are stunning, and seeing the sea lions in their natural habitat was amazing. The cave itself is massive and truly one-of-a-kind. Great stop if you love nature and wildlife—highly recommend!
Zlatusha T — Google review
10/10 highly recommend!! You may call in advance to get more information. The best time to visit is late November through April, when the seals are abundant. It is still a great place to visit during the off season. I highly recommend spending time (and money) in the gift shop. The staff are so friendly and so helpful! We appreciate them the most 🥰
Sherry K — Google review
We visited Valentine’s day weekend of ‘25 and it was so worth it! You can see hundreds of sea lions lounge in the caves while babies play together in the water. They also had an interesting documentary playing with other boards covered in fun facts. Viewing area is small so avoid peak hours! In the cave is also a stunning viewpoint of the cliffs of the gorgeous Oregon coast! Loved it!
Oceana F — Google review
A very cool stop! We were here in mid October and the sea lions weren't there. They let us know before we purchased the tickets and then gave us a ticket to come back within 12 months of our visit to try seeing them again, which was so nice. Still, the views were worth the stop! But!! If you want to see the sea lions, take a left out of the property (or a right if you parked across the street) and drive maybe 2-3 minutes of the road. There will be a pull off on the left hand side, same side as the water, where you can see (and hear) where the sea lions are hanging out! (Pictures attached)
Mercedes T — Google review
One of the coolest places I’ve been! There is an admission price to take the elevator into the cave, but it was absolutely worth it even though the sea lions weren’t there this time of year. 100% worth stopping to check out, if only for the gorgeous views!
Baylee C — Google review
We were here in November = no seals in the cave. They did give us a $2 off each entry but I still feel it's a bit high priced. That being said, we did enjoy the cave itself and the lighthouse view even without the seals. There were a couple seals fishing outside the cave on way to the elevator. We will return to experience the seals
Candi S — Google review
OVERALL: Fantastic experience. We were not sure if there would be many sea lions to see but we were wrong. There were sooo many sea lions! Apparently they are always around. Either hanging out in the cave keeping safe from predators, or sunning/mating outside in another viewing location. Most are not very active but there are always a few barking at each other and climbing around the rocks. PARKING: Depending on time if year I can see parking being challenging. There are 2 smaller lower parking lots, plus a larger upper. The upper is steep and requires a bit of hike back down so be prepared to walk a bit. DON'T FORGET: Bring a jacket or sweatshirt. Even during the summer it's still very windy and cool. Binoculars are also a great idea since the sea lions are still pretty far away. There were binoculars available for rental when we were there but I'm guessing they may also have a limited supply. ACCESSIBLITY: Pending where you park it's a bit of a steep walk to the gift shop. Since this is all built on a hill side the walk down to see the sea lions is also a bit steep. Just outside the gift shop are 2 options, a view of the outside where dozens of sea lions are sunning, or down an elevator (+200ft) to the amazing cave with a deck for viewing the sea lions, small museum with a 6min video, fossils, a hike up several flights to see so many birds and a lighthouse off in the distance. GIFT SHOP: The gift shop has pop
Mike — Google review
Such a cool place to look at the sea lions!! I've seen them in San Diego and in Newport, Oregon, but this was super cool!! You pay to go down this cool elevator and actually enter a cave around sea-level where you can see the sea lions!! That was so unique, there aren't any other places that will take you down that far. There were so many cute sea lions when we were there, it was absolutely stunning to see them in their natural habitat!! There were also cool exhibits where you could see skeletons of real sea lions, and two great places for picture opportunities! When going back up the elevator, we went to another viewpoint and got to see even MORE sea lions from a distance!! I paid a quarter for the viewing machine, and wow, it was a great view!! Overall it's a great place to see the sea lions WITHOUT worrying about them being in captivity. Gift shop was also really cute too!

Heceta Head Lighthouse

The Heceta Head Lighthouse is a functioning 19th-century lighthouse on the coast, which has been transformed into a scenic bed and breakfast with six rooms. Visitors can take a short hike to the top for breathtaking views of the surroundings, which are very well-kept. Although some guests may find the bathrooms in outdoor spaces unpleasant, it is still worth visiting this popular tourist attraction.
I have just returned from my daughter’s wedding that was held at the beautiful Heceta Lighthouse and B&B on the Oregon Coast. It was a very small wedding but boy was it a magical and amazing day! I cannot rave enough about the staff that went out of their way to make sure my daughter’s wedding day was a day to remember! The views from both the B&B and lighthouse are breathtaking taking, the 7 course breakfast and wedding dinner was simply excellent! Every detail was handled by the staff and chef’s like a well oiled machine! They were always professional and very detailed. I can’t thank them enough for making this very special event so magical! Thank you to Misty, Gary, David, Michelle, Jane and Cecily I hope I got the names correct and did not forget anyone. You all have a passion for what you do and really make your guests comfortable! I would strongly urge anyone to experience this location and checkout their different packages and stay options. You will not regret it.

As part of a family reunion trip we visited the Heceta Head Lighthouse with 16 people, including four children under 13 years old and a nine month old baby. We spent several hours at this magical place making lifetime memories. For older folks or anyone who struggles with uneven surfaces, the hike up the hill overlooking the lighthouse may be too challenging. There is bench seating, restrooms, and helpful park staff at ground level next to the lighthouse. You can visit the ground floor of the lighthouse to speak with wonderful volunteers about the lighthouse history. The stairs to the top of the lighthouse are not open to the public. Your experience at the lighthouse that overlooks Heceta beach will change with the weather. We arrived to overcast skies with fog and temp in the high 50s. Two hours later the sun was out with temp in the low 70s and we were peeling off layers of clothing. The parking lot in front of the beach was full. There is overflow parking across the street, under the bridge. We somehow missed any signs about paid parking ($10, I think) and had a ticket when we returned to our car. Not a big deal at all. We are happy to support Oregon State Parks. I highly recommend making time to visit Heceta. The drive from whichever direction you approach the park is also beautiful.

Heceta Head park and lighthouse are always amazing every time we visit. Typically fall is very quiet, but weather still wonderful and sunny. Trail to lighthouse is well kept, definitely an incline to get there, but not far. Spectacular views from the top. Well appointed gift shop midway if you need a stop. Visiting here never gets old!
Deborah S — Google review
The hike up is not only fairly easy, but it’s scenic too! We went at around 10:00 - 11:00 am and it was foggy. The hike up is about half a mile, though it’s windy and goes uphill. There is no to very weak cell service, so be prepared. Once you get to the top, there’s also more trails that go further up the hill near the lighthouse itself. You’ll get better views there. However, there’s some steep drop-offs as you climb up with no barriers, and it might pose a risk if someone trips on a stick or something. Try not to drop anything if you’re climbing up those trails, and keep a close eye on children. Though I would’ve liked the weather to be clear and sunny, the fog just made things even better! There are picnic tables near the beach at the start of the trail, and there’s also a restroom.

I visited here the middle of august. By 10:00 a.m. there weren't any parking spots. You can park along the 101 in a large pull off. Southbound lane at the entrance of the park. There is an easy walk up to the lighthouse and another trail that goes up higher and above it for great vistas. Super busy in the summer but worth it. Great views of the historic Bridge built in the 1930s.
Darin L — Google review
We loved this beach, it was so interesting and beautiful with the stark cliffs covered in green plants, the cool bridge over the river that runs into the ocean, and a bunch of little caves in the cliff. We even saw a sea star here! We didn't hike up to the lighthouse, but the beach is awesome!
Lauren W — Google review
Beautiful lighthouse, small but beautiful hike to get up. The trail is dog friendly but you can not enter the lighthouse or the gift shop with your dog. I took my dog so I skipped going inside but the grounds are worth it.
Rebecca B — Google review
So beautiful! The parking can be tricky so get there early! Great beach access. Easy, short trail to the lighthouse. Amazing gift shop that’s 1/2 half way up the trail. Volunteers are super friendly and helpful.

Darlingtonia State Natural Site

Mentioned on
1 list
State park
Nature & Parks
Nature preserve
Darlingtonia State Natural Site is a protected area that boasts a unique ecosystem where the rare native cobra lily thrives - this carnivorous plant feeds on insects. It's worth taking a detour from the main highway to explore this fascinating location. Visitors can enjoy a short walk through the woods and observe these captivating plants, even during winter. This nature preserve also offers picnic tables and pit toilets for convenience. Additionally, there's a trail featuring native pitcher plants that are equally impressive.
There is no reason not to visit this: it's a simple walk, it's a fascinating plant, it looks like you've walked into a sci-fi monster movie like Day of the Triffids meets Alien, it's right outside of town. It's a great little visit.
James C — Google review
Doesn't take more than 15 minutes as it is just one small area but what a hidden fascinating gem. If you are in the area it's certainly worth stopping by to check it out
Vicki E — Google review
Right off the highway and a great little walk to stretch your legs. There is also a bathroom by the parking lot. When you get into the park, the trail to the right is the correct way to the observation deck and the trail to the left (by the picnic tables) is NOT the trail to the plants. I don’t think it’s an official trail and it will take you somewhere you can see the observation deck. The plants themselves are super cute and we saw lots of flys trying to get inside the plants 😭
First L — Google review
This tiny little wayside near Florence is magical. From the accessible boardwalk you can view thousands of carnivorous Cobra Lilies. They are very visually striking, interesting plants. Photos don't do justice to the shear about of them here! The wayside also includes a restroom and picnic tables, so it is a great place to stop if you are on a coast road trip.

Small area with boardwalk. It's a protective area for cobra plants. Has a picnic table. It's a very short walk, plenty of parking. There is a restroom but it was locked up.
Mud L — Google review
Cute little step right along highway 101, ample parking and a restroom in parking lot. Short walk through the forested trail to view the darlingtonia along a well kept boardwalk.

5-10 min stop right off the 101. Vault toilet and picnic tables and benches. Easy pathways accessible to those who can't walk well. No trash cans. Plenty of parking

Nice little stop. Pleasant even with light rain. Short walk from parking lot. Fun plants.

Devils Churn

Geologic Formations
Turbulent water passage in a national forest with unique shores & sprays up to hundreds of feet.
It’s so cool seeing the water churn and splash up! Definitely one of the coolest places near Yachats to explore, heck in the whole 50 mile area! Plenty of parking and beautiful views and hikes all around! Thor’s Well is just a minute drive away as well!
Weston N — Google review
Just a 1/2 mile walk down. It’s not a super easy walk but not horrible either. Not just for tge young and fit. I’m a chubby 56 year old woman, and it just took me longer, both up and down. Wear good grippy shoes because the ground is uneven once you are on the rocks and off the stairs. They warn you not to get too close, do you don’t get swept in. There are tide pools but they seemed too close to the water which seemed too unpredictable for my comfort.
Veronica A — Google review
Great place to stop along the 101. UNFORTUNATELY, we went at a pretty bad time. Seen recommendations to go at various times, but we went at low-ish tide, and there were not that many cool rushes of water. Our recommendation would be to go at incoming high tide. Probably an hour or two before tide is at its highest.

Such beautiful scenery! Everyone should come and explore the beauty of the nature here! Winter and summer, it is absolutely stunning.

One of the best places to see the power of the Pacific ocean if you can come during king tides you will not be disappointed

Dramatic Violent waves crashing into the volcanic coastline creating a fissure. Ranger station right off the Highway next to restrooms and the upper viewing platform. Can walk down the switchback trailhead (~0.5m) down onto the rocky tidepool. Very limited parking $5 parking fee in most spots (there is a free 15 minute parking location) Picnic table

This was a huge highlight of my trip. I absolutely loved the Devil’s Churn located on the Pacific Ocean. It was fascinating and I loved watching it. Even though it looked dangerous if you accidentally fell in. I talked to a local woman while I was there, she told me it was calm the day I was there. She said that sometimes the water would splash all the way up to the highest point of observation.

Super pretty. We paid $5 to park but it was worth it. Easy ramp down then you could explore the rock. Terrifyingly beautiful, if you get near the edge.

The Drift Inn Hotel and Restaurant

Restaurant
American restaurant
Located in Yachats, Oregon, The Drift Inn Hotel and Restaurant offers a laid-back atmosphere with comfortable rooms, some featuring ocean views or shared bathrooms. The on-site bar and restaurant provide a casual dining experience for guests of all ages, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. With its family-friendly environment and live music events, it's a popular choice among visitors exploring the central Oregon coast. Nearby attractions include the Alsea River and Alsea Bay in Waldport for fishing enthusiasts.
I loved everything I ate during my stay at the Drift inn. For dinner I had the chicken pot pie with side salad, it was really really good and I've been day dreaming about it since. For dessert, I had the sour cream apple pie and it was like nothing like I've ever had. It had all the flavors of apple pie but with a nice sour cream tang and a yummy pecan crumble on top. It was so delicious! Perfect fall treat. For breakfast I had the huevos rancheros. The portion was huge, 3 big corn tortillas and it was really good and filling. I can't wait to come back!
Alexandra S — Google review
We had lunch today at their restaurant and was greatly disappointed by the quality of the food and service. We both had sea food chowder, bread and salad. Had to send my soup back because it was like warm, they hardly give any salad dressing which makes for a dry salad and for the price I expected more, then when I ordered the waitress said that the gratuity was added to the bill automatically and when you get your bill they ask if you want to add to the gratuity, lol, only reason we ate there was because the lady at the welcome center recommended the place as where the locals go to eat lunch. We won't be back anytime soon.
Bill Q — Google review
This place has been our go to restaurant at the coast. We've always had great food and service. Until this time. There were 5 of us and I can't speak for the others but I ordered the King salmon. The approximately 6 oz salmon came out dry as it was overcooked. I sent it back and when it came back it was somewhat better. The salmon was less dry but still not moist throughout. The sides were OK. At $31 it was overpriced for the quality especially when the salmon was not cooked correctly. Every other time we've eaten at the Drift Inn it has been great. The best seats are on their back patio. The main restaurant area is a little run down and could use some updating. Because of our previous experiences, that there are still quite a few 5 star ratings, and we've never had less than a 5 star experience previously, we will likely be back and hope the chef is better. We probably won't go on a Monday evening again. The service was very good and worth the automatic 20% tip applied to all meals.
Joel R — Google review
Can’t rate the rooms as we didn’t stay but it was an absolute treat to find a restaurant on the coast with a menu that was mostly gluten free! The food was amazing, hostess and waiter were awesome and the drinks were delicious. Love the laid back vibe and live music. This place was such a welcome surprise for a gal that’s usually relegated to a pile of greens and a grilled chicken breast when eating out. We’ll definitely be back!
Agna L — Google review
I dont understand any negative reviews on here as we have eaten at The Drift Inn every time we visit Yachats and have always had a great experience. We ate there most recently this past weekend and I had a cheese pizza and my husband had a burger and fries. Everything was super fresh, hot and delicious. The service was excellent and our server let us know immediately that there was a 20% gratuity automatically added to the check. We sat out in the back covered patio area and enjoyed the food, service, and ambiance.
Angelika P — Google review
Ate lunch at the cafe Quirky decor, comfortable booths, friendly and efficient staff Chicken pot pie: I hesitated, as these are all too often stodgy -- bland and heavy. But this one was amazing! Rich, flavorful, incredibly seasoned filling loaded with chicken, topped with a light crust. My partner had sea food chowder. He's a super-taster, so very attuned to subtle flavors. He found this chowder to be among the best he's ever had. Absolutely delighted that we went there!
Margaret W — Google review
The hotel rooms are cute but way overpriced. The sheets are incredibly uncomfortable and scratchy. I've been coming here for about 20 years and it used to be my favorite place to go for any and all meals in Yachats. Unfortunately the prices have gone up while the quality of food and service have plummeted. Too many mistakes on orders, too many times being ignored by staff and tired of being forced to leave a 20% tip regardless of how awful the dining experience was. I will never step foot in this establishment again...which is sad because I used to really love it there. I believe the owner's daughters decisions on how to run the business has done a great disservice to The Driff Inn.
Jamie G — Google review
We liked this place so much for dinner that we came back for breakfast the next day! Great draft beer and wine selection with nice local selections. Strongly suggest the smoked salmon omelette and the compote for the biscuits. And for dinner the crab cakes were delish. Dorothy was out server for both and loved her energy!

Sweet Creek Falls

My favorite place. Best Month to go is January, after heavy rains. Trail was not as bad as I expected after last week's wind storm. One of the bridges was slightly damaged, not too bad. Gorgeous all the way up. For safety, always use a walking stick, watch your step. Everybody no matter how old you are can trip and land in the creek!
Melanie F — Google review
Wow, what a beautiful area! Even the drive to the trails is amazing! The trails are no more than “moderate” and not very long until you get to the falls. There is some stepping over stones and tree roots but most people can navigate with relative ease. We are in Spring and the varying shades of green are everywhere you look! I’m sure it’s amazing in Fall, as well.

This is a pretty nice easy hike. Don’t expect a grand waterfall, but it’s still nice.

Seal Rock State Recreation Site

State park
Nature & Parks
Coastal park with hiking trails, scenic ocean views, a picnic area & a beach, plus marine wildlife.
Beautiful area kept almost completely in its natural state. It's a steep walk down to the beach and back up but it's doable for most people. ***If you go down onto the beach, you MUST pay attention to the time of the tides. Go down on low tide as high tide brings the ocean water and waves all the way up to the sea cliff walls!***
C — Google review
The tide pools were absolutely amazing and we counted 6 harbor seals that we enjoyed watching for a bit. It was a favorite and worthwhile stop along the Oregon coast. The tide came in rapidly, so be aware! We noticed the change just in time to start heading back to shore without getting too wet, but it caught others off guard too, so do be aware. Restrooms are available.
Tristin W — Google review
Stopped by Seal Rock State Recreation Site and it turned out to be the perfect coast-break I needed. The rock formations jutting out into the ocean are wild — especially seeing the tide‐pools and birdlife in one spot. The paved viewpoint trail was super handy, and once you head down to the beach you can roam over cobbles and driftwood to get right by the water. Bring solid shoes and maybe plan around low tide for max exploration. Loved how peaceful it got, especially as the waves rolled in.
Nate — Google review
Beautiful! Especially after a huge storm. Make sure to pay attention to the low vs high tide and go out when it's going out to low tide, otherwise you will get stuck and swept out. Very dangerous to go out not knowing the tide.
Andrea M — Google review
10/10 highly recommend! This is such a beautiful and surreal place. We loved and enjoyed every second at this park.
Sherry K — Google review
Amazing beautiful beach. We were here at highly tide, so no tide pools, but the waves crashing on the rock were spectacular!
Denis L — Google review
I didn’t make it down to the beach but the viewpoints alone were breathtaking and are accessible by ramps. I found the interpretive signs very engaging. The parking lot had ample space. The restroom was large but quite dirty and I encountered many spiders. I don’t mind spiders though.

Great picnic area next to beaver Creek. Bathrooms are available with sink. Right off highway 101. Short walk to the beach. This beach has a nice large sandy area to play or just hang out on the beach in this sunny days when you want to relax under the sun. South of the beach entrance is some small rock formations.

Beaver Creek at Brian Booth State Park is a wonderful place to kayak! Easy access with paved boat launch, parking lot and restroom nearby. For boat launch turn east at park entrance at 101 Hwy. Depending on weather conditions, the paddle can be smooth and easy or rough and a bit more challenging. Note the wind and tide flow conditions before you go. Great wildlife to see, and you can paddle upstream until you reach the farm fields that get narrow and eventually run into private fenced water and land. If you paddle west, you will be delighted to find the magic place where the creek flows into the ocean! A beautiful experience for any age!

This park on beaver creek rd will forever have a very special place in my heart. The absolutely exceptional experience I had shared with an old friend March 7th to the 8th. We were having such a good time enjoying the company that we had no idea how long we had been there until the sun came up and we had to call for a jump because the battery died while we were lost to the rest of the world and just so happily content being completely lost in one another in a way that can never be explained nor would I want to try. That is one of my favorite moments in time because sadly I have since had to grieve the loss of my best friend who was taken away not long after this day. I will miss him but I will return to that place time stood still every year on the anniversary and take just a few hours and travel back to the day that was perfect for awhile.

The wine here speaks for itself 5⭐️, it’s the owners that truly set this place apart. We have tasted at wineries from all over the world and I can honestly say that we’ve never had such a wonderful experience. It was my wife’s birthday and after chatting with them they shared something very special with us that we will truly never forget! Thank you Terry and Sue, we hope to return one day.

Good winery and tasting room on the main street in Elkton. The owner was very friendly and responsive. Sample flight was $15, you sampled 4 wines of your choice, it was enough to split between two people, if you bought 3 bottles the sampler fee is waived, however the fee in June/July/August goes to charity which is admirable. We sampled 4 different red wines during our stay, we sat in the covered outside courtyard, there is also indoor seating available. The Ferris wheel and the Northern Pinot Noir were quite mild and agreeable. Overall we had an excellent experience at Brandborg Winery. They also have beer and cheese, wine, crackers.

The food is always good here and the staff is super friendly. My only criticism is that there is always WAY TOO MUCH LETTUCE on everything so I gave it 4 stars. I just don't want a salad with everything I order and it makes things soggy. Very unnecessary filler for already filling, good and satisfying food!

The best Mexican food I try in Oregon prices are cheap for the size of the plates the service is excellent and a really good atmosphere if I'm in the area I'm absolutely going Update after 1 or 2 years I went back to the area and want to try again the food at Hacienda vieja the beans and rice still bomb I order a carne asada plate , which I almost never do because I can make carne asada myself, but this one was so tender, juicy, and flavorful that I don't regret it. My son ordered a cheeseburger, and he said it was very good.

Recently had cause to go to Ashland, and was excited to knock a few towns off the Great Oregon Burger Bucket List (my quest to have a burger in every town in Oregon). Found a Mexican restaurant with burgers, La Pinata, in Drain, and headed over. Really cool local spot. Serves just about everything, friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere. Huge cookies!! Being sold to pay for trips to watch the Atlanta Braves, of which this is a mini Mecca for fans. I asked if it was a decent serving of onion rings, and boy howdy!! They gave about twice as much as most places do. Great prices, $20 with the tip for a big bacon burger, lots of onion rings, large drink, and two huuuuge cookies. Onion rings were great crispy batter with a soft onion inside, mild taste to the batter. I don't normally use fry sauce for onion rings, but wanted to try it, and the fry sauce is very solid-a slight tang and very smooth. If I lived in Drain, I'd probably probably be here twice a month just for fries & sauce with a beer to wash it down. I got the bacon mushroom Swiss burger, despite not being a typical mushroom burger guy, because it was recommended in reviews and is their top selling item overall according to the very helpful waitress. It was a burger you could smell the meat from while it was being brought to you. The tease of the scent alone promised a solid burger, and it lived up to its tease & reputation. Juicy beef and thick tasty bacon with a very generous helping of veggies on a solid bun. The mushrooms were great, just noticeable enough to know it's a mushroom burger without being over powering.

Beer glass was ice cold which I enjoyed, the bar is in the back of the restaurant, which forces you to walk through and see some things that need cleaning. Was looking for the Totem Bar and to try their pizza which was not available.

Every inch of the space has been thoughtfully curated, from the fairy lights dangling above to the colorful banners fluttering in the breeze. It's not just a fair-it's a living, breathing work of art. Incredible Entertainment Entertainment is woven into every moment at the Oregon Country Fair. Stages tucked into clearings host a diverse range of performances, from folk bands and world-class musicians to acrobats, puppeteers, and spoken word artists. You don't need a schedule to enjoy the magic-there's always something happening. Street performers, stilt walkers, and jugglers appear as if by magic, infusing every corner with surprise and delight. One of the highlights is the fair's focus on inclusion and expression. Artisan Craftsmanship The fair is a paradise for anyone who appreciates handcrafted goods. Booths showcase everything from hand-blown glass and intricate jewelry to natural body products and hand-dyed fabrics. Artisans are often present at their booths, happy to share the stories behind their work. Buying from these talented makers feels meaningful, as you're supporting local creativity and craftsmanship. A Sense of Community What sets the Oregon Country Fair apart is the deep sense of community and shared values. It's a place where creativity and individuality are celebrated, and kindness is the unspoken currency. Everyone-from the families with kids to costumed fairgoers and lifelong attendees-feels part of something bigger. People smile at strangers, engage in meaningful conversations, and respect the fair's commitment to sustainability and inclusiveness. Sustainability and Awareness The fair also shines in its environmental consciousness. Recycling and composting stations are everywhere, and there's a strong emphasis on leaving the grounds as beautiful as they were found. Many booths and performances promote social and environmental awareness, adding a thoughtful layer to the fair's whimsical nature. Final Thoughts The Oregon Country Fair is more than just an event; it's an experience that stays with you long after you leave. It's a place where art meets nature, where music meets magic, and where people meet as equals to celebrate life. Whether you're dancing in a meadow, savoring local cuisine, or admiring handmade art, the fair reminds you of the beauty of connection, creativity, and community. For anyone seeking a joyful escape and a celebration of humanity's creative spirit, the Oregon Country Fair is truly unmissable. It's not just a fair-it's an invitation to step into a more colorful, playful, and compassionate world.

Oregon Country Fair 2025 was an absolutely incredible experience—one for the books! Over three fantastic days, the fair felt like a delightful blend of folk culture, hippie spirit, renaissance charm, and artistic whimsy. With an array of phenomenal performers showcasing everything from music to theater, the atmosphere was electric. The food was mouthwatering, and the crafts and artwork were simply breathtaking. Attending was like stepping back in time and into a magical realm. It's an event you simply can't miss—definitely a must-see destination for everyone!

I live in NC, but I try to make it back to the Country Fair most years, having spent the '90s living in Eugene and getting involved with it then. The more I get to know all the inner-workings of how this festival is run, and the more I get to know the beautiful land that they take care to protect, the more I love it! You can go just for a day and try to see as many of the 260+ art booths and 17 stages of music and theatre performances as possible, or you can get involved on one of countless volunteer crews or art/food booths, and spend more time there. The history the philanthropic generosity, the contagious joy among so many sweet folks...I can't speak highly enough about it. Yes, it's dusty and usually hot and crowded...And it's SO worth it! A few tips: bring your own water bottle; plenty of refill stations throughout. Tickets are required, and aren't sold on site. Expect to walk a lot, and maybe even get "lost"; that's part of the magic (plus you won't actually get lost, it's fenced in and safe.:)) Best to bring cash, though there is a (busy) ATM outside the front gate if needed. WiFi is, well, slow at best. No drugs, including alcohol, allowed. No glass. If you have medical or lost-child or other needs, don't panic: there's a great network of support.

I hate to say this but: two years ago two couples left from the same Airbnb in different cars. The one using Apple Maps got there 30 minutes before the one using Google maps. I do not know why. So be aware. Traffic to get in can be bad depending on the time. Friday around 1pm arrival was good and so was Saturday arriving around 1130. The walk from our parking spot to the fair is as long as the walk inside the fair. (And in the blazing sun). So hydrate and take care of carrying shade.

First timer. We're called "fair virgins." This is the mother of all country fairs, it's the template, the OG. A three day fair, a single day is $60 for admission. I don't know the three day rate. But there are those who come and camp. Special privileges: after the fair closes a whole other world opens up; different dimensions than what is available during daylight… Only for the initiated, of which I was not one. Parking is $15 if you're driving but public transportation is free. Food was fair and reasonable for the quality, quantity, and amazing service. Truly amazing to see how happy everybody was from the volunteers directing traffic, to the horses helping them, to the people checking bags, stamping hands on the way out, vendors proud of their wares, and neighbors. People were chilling under the grand piano, in beautiful tented areas with organza curtains, up in tree houses, this was not a place of stress. Talent is pouring out of peoples pores here. Everything from the Way folks are dressed so creatively, so ingenious, to the high-level of skill involved in the making of ceramics, pottery, jewelry, leather gear, potions and concoctions. The Kesey Stage was where we experienced two amazing artists in less than 10 minutes. There were water misters everywhere to keep people cool and the facilities team were seen skillfully removing potentially dangerous hornets' nests, as well as just wondering around watering the grounds to keep the dust at bay. I was warned by everyone to wear comfortable shoes, and there might be a case for masks if you have lung and breathing issues because on dry days the dust does get kicked up by the 15+ thousand people wandering around happily. They were spontaneous dances that broke out in front of buskers. And amazing parades with skillful drumline marching as well as flutes and clarinets and brass winds. It was very humanizing the way there were sufficient porta potties strategically placed and all garbage/recycling/yard waste areas were well-monitored at all times. There was also a sauna and shower area for those who are staying overnight. There were also several first aid and medic stations that we passed. The trees were extraordinary, giant and strong like the elders of the forest. The entire event seemed to run along the Long Tom River. An amazing experience of community at play, where creativity is oozing out of pores, from booths, and trees, and stages. I hope you get here. Because it's wonderful to be greeted, "Happy Fair!" And "Welcome Home."

King Estate Winery, located in the Willamette Valley, is a renowned destination offering exceptional single vineyard wines. Visitors can enjoy wine tastings and tours while taking in breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding area. The winery also offers exquisite food options, including delightful salads with unique edible flowers that add an elegant touch to the dining experience. Guests can savor a variety of small lot wines and indulge in delicious desserts like the highly recommended blueberry cheesecake.
Large winery estate located in the outskirts of Eugene. Property is stunningly beautiful, around 1000 acres. Very hospitable staff, and we loved all the wines we tried. Given the property, one may expect an air of pretention, but all the employees were incredibly kind and welcoming. Our server was nice enough to provide us with a reinforced case box for the other wine we'd purchased so that we'd be able to bring the wine home on our flight. Nice variety of whites and reds, and they also source grapes from Washington and Southern OR. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area; you won't be disappointed.

This winery, equipped with excellent infrastructure, operates only on weekdays and does not accept guests on weekends. While it’s a bit inconvenient that you have to provide your credit card information upfront when booking online, it’s still a place worth visiting at least once. Aside from the dining area, there’s virtually no shade, which is a bit disappointing. The interior space is rather ordinary, but once you’re seated at a table overlooking the surrounding scenery, you can feel a sense of perfect tranquility. They only serve light bites to accompany the wine tasting, so I ordered cheese and a few simple dishes. The flavor of the house-made butter and honey was delightful, and the foie gras spread on toast with additional toppings paired beautifully with the wine. Wine tasting costs $35, and other menu items are also quite pricey. Overall, the value for money isn’t great, but it’s a decent spot for a special outing. As for the wine itself, my personal taste found it somewhat flat—lacking a distinctive terroir, depth, or kick. I probably wouldn’t return, but I’d still recommend visiting at least once.

King Estate is truly a gem in Oregon! The views are absolutely breathtaking — overlooking rolling vineyards and fields of lavender, it genuinely makes you feel like royalty. The wine selection is beyond exceptional, with something for every palate, and the food is just as impressive. The fresh butter and honey, sourced straight from their own farm, add such a special, thoughtful touch to the dining experience. It’s also very kid-friendly, and the staff are warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable. A must-visit destination for wine lovers and families alike!

Took my mom there to celebrate her 65th birthday, my 44th birthday, & my 22nd year anniversary with my company. Had an amazing time there back in mid September around harvest time. We caught a couple to do a tour with & were invited to join them after our flight tasting. We enjoyed that as well as the blueberry cheesecake which was by far the very best cheesecake that we had which led my mother to purchasing another to go. It was that good! Hope to be able to return sometime in the future. But want to give a very special thank you to Jodi & Lily for one of the most unforgettable experiences we'll always remember. I wish more of your products made it to San Antonio, Texas.

So excited to try the wine & experience the views & atmosphere we had heard so much about. We were on a family vacation, my husband, daughter, son in law & granddaughter drove up to Kings Estate & unfortunately didn't get to try the wine. We weren't greeted with a Welcome or smile, but told in the entry way to wait for a gentleman who would take us to the patio for tastings. We waited quite a while, the Gentleman came in asked what we wanted, left to go back to patio. After another hefty wait we decided to leave. Wow, rather disappointed when visiting from another state & all we received was scowls & frowns. Went down the road to Sweet Cheeks Winery!....It was phenomenal!
Sue R — Google review
We walked up and attempted to enjoy a wine tasting on vacation. The first time we were greeted was 5 minutes after we arrived. The gentleman did not seem interested in serving us (my 7 year old daughter was with us). After we were looked up and down, he told us his partner would be with us shortly. Another 5-10 minutes and the partner came up, gave us the side eye and asked if we were all together (my parents, husband, daughter and I). He then said he would try to find something outside. He went on to serve and interact with the 2 tables on the patio. Eventually, we decided to just leave. I cant speak to the quality of wine.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the King Estate Winery for brunch, and I must say it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. Nestled atop a hill, the winery offers stunning panoramic views that are truly a sight to behold on clear days. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the delectable food. The salad was delightful with its inclusion of unusual edible flowers, adding a touch of elegance and visual appeal. The fried potatoes served alongside had a crispy outer layer that gave way to moist insides. The dining environment and tasting room exudes an air of sophistication, with its elegant hardwood and possibly rock floor. The provision of well-stocked hygiene products in the bathroom was a thoughtful touch. The free electric car chargers were a welcome surprise, making it very convenient for those, like us, who drive electric vehicles. In conclusion, my experience at King Estate Winery was unforgettable. From the breathtaking views to the delicious food, and the impeccable cleanliness throughout the establishment, it was evident that this winery goes above and beyond to provide an exceptional experience for its guests.

William L. Finley National Wildlife Refuge is a wetland habitat that offers hiking and animal-watching opportunities. During the winter, interior areas are closed to allow Canada geese to thrive. The roads around the refuge may be dusty but they are well-maintained and there are places for visitors to pull over.
I love this refuge!! There are so many great trail options & you will almost always see some wildlife when you come through. There are bathrooms but very limited in the park, not all trailheads will have one so keep it in mind. All trails are pretty easy, none crazy challenging.

A bird watcher's paradise honestly, and it's huge! A must visit in Oregon if you appreciate birds. I saw tundra swans, wild turkeys, raptor birds, cormorants, a heron, ducks, and more all in one day. There were also spots with viewing scopes to better see the waterfowl.

Great place for wildlife photography, I especially enjoyed the woodpecker loop trail.

Absolutely stunning views and so much wildlife. I especially enjoyed seeing the egrets and wooly bears. I would definitely classify the paths as more of nature walks instead of hikes, and therefore very easy to navigate with little to no hills. ***If you're visiting the reserve in autumn, be sure to take extra caution and watch your step for uneven ground on the trails that might be covered by leaves.

This place is so cool! I came here to "watch" the eclipse; I caught a glimpse for about 2 seconds! Darn weather. But afterwards, I stayed in the refuge to check it out. I walked the Campell Marsh/Hoffman loop and enjoyed it! The boardwalks are in really good condition. I also visited the little store they've got and it was so cute! The whole area around it was recently renovated and is a great hub (with flush toilets!). Lastly, I did the Woodpecker Loop hike and was glad I did: short, simple, but quite the looker! I look forward to visiting here a lot more in the future.

We came into the refuge from the northeast on the road that Waze directed us to. Finley road. Stopped an got a map, near a pond that I can't remember the name of, but that pond wasn't on the map. The map was kind of confusing. We finally found something that was on the map and at the other end of the refuge, I believe the Southeast side, we were able to see a few areas on the map. Anyway, not a lot of wildlife to see, we saw a snake, some turkey's with babies and wood ducks with babies, a great egret and heard lots of birds but couldn't see them. The boardwalk need some love. Some rails are rotting and some loose boards here and there. Otherwise, it was a nice day trip.

Nice hike with great views! We hiked up for the views and then you hike back down. Several options of trails to add on. Our loop was 2.7. It was partially in the sun and also nice shade along the way. Parts were a bit buggy with gnats but not biting insects. Per the other post we didn’t see poison oak. It was a great time for our family!

Nestled in the scenic Hult City Park, just a short drive from Eugene, Oregon, the Cascades Raptor Center is a nature haven and wildlife hospital. Since its establishment in 1987, this center has been dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating raptors. With nearly 50 birds of prey housed in expansive outdoor aviaries, it offers an up-close encounter with these majestic creatures.
Beautiful place to go! The birds are absolutely gorgeous. Little bit of a walk, though. Lots of information on each animal. Cute gift shop at the end. The staff was very friendly and helpful to answer any questions.
Cece H — Google review
The Raptor Center was an unexpected stop on a road trip, and ended up being a highlight of the trip. The center is very well maintained, and it's obvious that the staff genuinely care for the birds. All of the employees seemed to be having a good time, and they were very friendly and helpful. The facility was in good working order, and the enclosures offer visitors a good look at the birds, but also some privacy for the animals. There was a surprising variety of exhibits. The paths (and entire center) are on a steep hill, so those with mobility or balance issues might want to take a close look before committing to a trip. The prices were a little high, but it was worth it at least once. (Only true raptor aficionados are likely to return again.) Definitely recommend for visitors in the area!
David — Google review
This was a wonderful stop for anyone and everyone. The center itself is small and quaint. The birds are well taken care off and cute. You can tell that the staff really cares about them from how content the birds are and how clean everything is. The snowy owl was adorable and I loved the little notes they have about the name and story of each bird. It makes you feel connected to the animal. We went there at noon on Labor Day weekend and it was not busy at all. It is a nice stop to make and spend an hour or two learning about the birds especially since you can see them really up close. There are bathrooms and parking spots.
Mazal S — Google review
I have more photos, this is a great place to go for a hike to see some really beautiful birds. But I don't think it's a good place for kids under 8, or elderly and disabled people. It's built into the hillside in a way that is not wheelchair accessible. I'm not sure if there's a way to fix that. The outdoor classroom is probably the only place I would be able to get to safely from the parking lot in my hospital style wheelchair.
Emerald H — Google review
Highly recommended to adults and kids. Staff is on hand to help answer any questions. The area is large with a lot of different types of birds. There are signs that tell you about individual birds, how they came to be in the the raptor center, and about the species. All birds are available for sponsorship. There is a small store where you can purchase items to support the work that the raptor center does. There is a hospital on scene which the public is not allowed to go into. While we were there, staff was giving a tutorial about different feathers for birds. And there was even a doctor walking around checking on the individual birds. Very small parking lot only accommodates 12 vehicles. There are bathrooms on hand which are outhouses. Entry fee is well worth the cost of admission at $13. It is quite hilly so make sure you are comfortable shoes and it is all dirt. No concrete.

It boasts over 4,500 rose bushes representing more than 400 varieties, making it a true gem of the city. The garden also features the impressive 49-foot-tall Oregon Heritage Cherry Tree, believed to be one of the oldest of its kind in the country.
I LOVE this rose garden I try to go as much as possible. It smells like if you are standing and walking inside of a perfume bottle with many different rose blends and other flower notes to give the roses more depth also the smell of the flowers is perfect and not overwhelming. This is 100% worth seeing and checking out if you are making a trip to Eugene Oregon. Owen's rose garden is perfect for photos and getting your photo taken for grad students and weddings or any other event you need photos. I saw grad students taking photos, photographers of many kinds taking photos of the flowers, people walking there dogs, and many other lovely groups of people enjoying the roses with everyone. Very uplifting and positive to bring your mood up. I really want to keep coming back to this place as much as possible.

This is one of the most beautiful rose gardens I've ever been to, and I mean, ever the layout was perfect and so many quality roses to see and read the descriptions and see the trees and the pagodas and it was all very well laid out. The bathroom was disgusting. There was poop on the rim of the toilet and it was very unappealing. There were many bike riders out when I went and so i'm glad it has a good accessibility

Eugene Saturday Market's Holiday Market is a long-standing craft market that has been around since 1970. It takes place in a park and features over 200 local artisans, food vendors, live music, and an international food court. The market is not just a commercial enterprise but also serves as a social gathering where visitors can spend the day browsing unique wares, enjoying live music, and sampling international cuisine.
Just moved to the area from Phoenix and wanted to see something local and I definitely was not disappointed! First off finding parking did take a minute and it was $1.35 for an hour. However an hour was perfect timing to eat and see all the booths. All the food trucks are in one central area that made it convenient and there was a huge variety of food. I ended up getting a chocolate strawberry crepe and black cold brew and it was 5/5. The layout is a nice walk. If you were at an intersection there are booths on all 4 corners of the street. There's a huge blend of art, local crafts, fruits and veggies, flowers, honey, meat, ect. I will definitely be back.

Beautiful campus, especially in the spring when the rain and the overcast skies make the colors explode with vibrancy. There are so many buildings to explore, but even if you stay outside the whole time, you won’t be disappointed.

This School has many wonderful qualities including an amazing football team and a beautiful campus. I implore anyone who is thinking of coming to UO to walk the entire campus and go to some of the amazing close by off campus places to eat and hang out.

Always a great day spending time at the University of Oregon. Autzen pretty much the only venue that needs more major upgrades. Remember to take lot's of extra money, expect any purchases to empty the wallet. Go DUCKS!

Hayward Field is a historic track and field stadium located on the University of Oregon campus. It is home to the Oregon Ducks and hosts the annual Prefontaine Classic, making it a legendary venue in the world of track and field. The stadium has undergone recent renovations, offering state-of-the-art facilities for thousands of sports fans to enjoy unobstructed views, impressive acoustics, and spacious seating.
Very beautiful facility. It was a pleasure to have gone to a track and field meet there. There were concessions for the Nike Outdoor National event. I don't know if they have it for every event there, but if they do it is awesome. Parking is scarce. Many places around the facility where you can easily get a parking ticket. There is paid parking, but again, it is limited.

One of the BEST track and field facilities in the country. Phenomenal for competing and spectating. It's really easy to find housing nearby. I mean tracktown, who doesn't like it? It's iconic

A true living monument to the greatest sport. A stadium that loves its athletes and its fans. The seats in all the sections were cushioned, not a bad seat in the whole stadium. The screens had incredible colors, and the entire space was so ergonomic.

Beautiful and breathtaking to be here!!! Seats are comfy, plenty of bathrooms, and there are water bottle refill stations. Bring your sun screen, but there are shady areas too.

The free museum was a sensational find! Worth the jockeying of our activities to work into their limited hours. Even the non runners in the family were fascinated by the innovations of the 3 Bills who were legendary coaches, and back stories of athletes we watched at past Olympics. Visitors are not allowed on the track, but a photo booth provided us with laughs and a virtual visual keepsake (although the text to phone option did not work. Only those of us who had the image emailed received it)

One of our favorite places to be. Very affordable tickets for the caliber of experience. Comfortable cushioned seats & not a bad one in the house. Plenty of concessions (with the stadium pricing to match $$$, but that is to be expected). Massive screens, upbeat music & pretty solid announcers. We’ve attended everything from Oregon high school state meets to Worlds back in 2022. The only thing missing is parking. Please give us a parking garage. Please.

Its such an iconic place. So Inspiring to know that so many great athletes have been there. Seeing the grounds was cool.

No doubt, this is the very best track venue in the country. The Prefontaine Classic is world class...with two world records to see this year. A must see place and venue.

What an amazing museum. It honored my different cultures and people's that resided in the area historically. The book selection alone was worth the visit. Kids had an amazing time!

The museum looks deceptively small from the outside and has amazing displays, artifacts and a great gift shop within. The Moyer House tour is guided and the staff and docent were super friendly and knowledgable. The best thing happening in Brownsville!

Wonderful ladies who work here- they are very knowledgeable about the history of Linn County and the museum is so fun! I love the interactive exhibits like loading an Oregon trail wagon or dressing up like the people from the time! I also really liked their caboose exhibit. I think having the boxcars included in the layout of the museum is clever and unique, and the sweatshirt I got was both affordable and super comfortable!

Great little museum packed full of historical items from the area. Loved the way the diaromas (dentist office, doctors office, dressmaker, beauty salon, blacksmith, etc). And of course information about the filming of "Stand By Me." I will certainly visit again. Thanks for a lovely few hours in Brownsville.

I personally enjoyed the small, old fashion theater set up. We got to pick out our desired VHS to watch from an array of choices. Mouse Hunt was our choice. Lots of history to look at. Free admission, though donations are encouraged to keep them up and running.

The museum is a fantastic place to learn local history for the Mid-Willamette Valley. The volunteers are knowledgeable, dedicated, and kind. The artifacts are fascinating. Take a walk past the Halsey Bank or study a map of the indigenous Calapooia prehistoric mounds. You can even watch Stand By Me in the little theater!

This museum packs a huge punch into a relatively small space. Located in the railroad depot building dating back to the late 19th century, a large portion of the museum is in train cars - including the theater. Dress up in authentic pioneer clothing and take a picture with the actual covered wagon the Drinkard family used to cross the frontier in 1865 - one of only 3 known actual Oregon Trail wagons still in existence. They also have extensive artifacts from the pioneer days - blacksmithing equipment, and replica General store, doctors office, bank, and more. You'll even see hair art! 🫨 You have to see it to believe it! The volunteers are very kind and knowledgeable. Admission is free - they accept donations (and I highly suggest supporting them!) but they will not ask you to donate.

Starzjeepcrew always stops once a year for Stand by me weekend or as tradition self guided tour with friends if we can't make it that weekend. This museum is the most informative in oregon.
