This is a good park but used to be best till last year when they had amazing large number of tulips and lavenders. This year’s tulips were kind of let down, just one row at two different places. Hope this will improve next year.

Very beautiful park. Well maintained, easy walking. Plenty of cool shady nooks to rest and enjoy the day.

What a local gem! So beautiful. Great paths and walking trails. Areas for kids. The flowers are amazing. Walked the yellow trail. It was not a hard walk but lots of up and down.

This place is beautiful and I could not believe it was free. Well thought out beautiful landscaping, plenty of space for larger crowds. People were doing photo shoots, having a picnic birthday party and just walking around. It's pretty large so prepare for plenty of time to see it all.

This is now our 5th time at breakout games, and once again they have not failed to deliver a fun and engaging experience. This time it was just me and my fiance, and we had a blast. Being pretty experienced allowed us to escape even with just 2 brains! Kavan was an amazing game master, kept things fun and mysterious the entire escape. Definitely will be returning with more friends to do one of their newer escapes!

Moss helped us complete the Museum Heist game! They are super funny and he worked with us on numerous occasions, before the game, during, and after. Great experience!

Fort Ancient Earthworks & Nature Preserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Museum
Sights & Landmarks
Landmark parkland featuring trails & a museum on American Indian heritage & early European settlers.
This place is great for the whole family. The museum is nice and informative, with a. Nice collection of artifacts to view. The earthworks are impressive even by today's standards. The trails are nice,a little steep joining the
Justin W — Google review
I learned so much here not just about this earthworks location but about all the native American settlements in the Midwest. Trails were marked at the beginning and end but one we were on had several paths to take and we kind of got off the correct path. The visitor center had so much great info and artifacts.
Tara B — Google review
A little confusing at first. But staff was helpful. Gift shop was cute and had items made by Native Americans. Museum was way bigger than I thought. Learned a lot! Ever heard of the Beaver wars. I have now. Grounds were okay. If you like hiking get the trail map in the museum. I opted out as most required more than I wanted to do. I'm not an experienced hiker. Guess we'll never know what those mounds were for. 🤔
April — Google review
Every time I visit, I feel as though I am walking with the ghosts of the peoples who built the earthworks . This is a special combination of history preserve and nature preserve plus museum. Free if you are a History Connection member. Only $8 per car load if you only want to walk the grounds. In late September and early October, there is much white snakeroot, goldenrods, and asters in bloom. All times of year, there are impressively large oaks, maples, beeches, and tulip trees to enjoy. An impressive CCC built shelter in site. The museum charges a modest fee per person.
Nancy R — Google review
Fort Ancient, aptly misnamed by early pioneers is an amazing feat of human engineering by ancient man, and one of the few remaining sites with preserved Native Indigenous earthworks in Ohio. Visitors will be glad to find dedicated handicapped parking and access close to the entrance of the museum. Additional ample parking is a short walk away on level ground. Sidewalks are provide for safe entry to and from the main parking lot. The Fort Ancient museum helps educate about the importance of this Native site, and also other cultures who lived before, during, and after the former residents. It also includes a vast display of ancient and historical artifacts and replicas tracing the impact of man's influence. There is a detailed explanation of the cause and effect of immigrating pioneer settlements in the Northwestern Territories and beyond. Visitors may be pleased to discover books, and Native Distributed Foods like Fry Bread, Wild Rice, or Teas as well as rocks and other wares in the Gift Shop. Payment in the forms of debit, credit, and federal currency are all accepted. My single adult entry fee was a very reasonable $7.00. Outside are hiking trails with signs and maps to help observe burial mounds, and sizable man made ridges of earth that total over 3.5 miles in length. A road leads through to the back of this dedicated site providing great views. Additional signs list the significance of designated areas. Many burial mounds are placed on the landscape, and paths lead along towering Deciduous, and Nut Bearing Trees. At the top of an area named Eagle's Trail is an overlook with stone and wooden steps allowing a view overlooking the river valley. One trail leads all the way down to the river with the placement of steps, but is very steep in places and poses several areas where a walking sticks or other device are recommended to help one maintain their balance. Over the calf hiking boots with good tread should help keep ones footing. Across the road is an area designed to help the Native People calculate days of the year as well as to those leading to the Summer Solstice, Harvest, and the changing seasons. Through a section of road or by walking a trail one can visit the area of the Twin Mounds and walk a path through some tall Conifers. Trails are well maintained overall. Walking on any of the ridges or Native Made structures is strictly prohibited in an effort to help preserve them. Kids and families will enjoy their time here, and it's a great place for a group walk or picnic. One area of the park has a large structure to provide shade and offer respite from the sun or weather. And there are pastures and places where kids young and old can throw or pass football, fly a frisbee, or play outdoor games. Several areas offer roadside as well as lot parking to allow easy access to points of interest. The road leading across the river valley past the former Morgan's Canoe Rental is incredibly steep. Plan in advance to encounter multiple tight, winding hair-pin curves and a very, very steep decline. The posted recommended speed is no more than 15 MPH with good reason. Please make consideration if the road is wet, or ice or snow could form. A lower gear and speed with good tread should help to better maintain the safest driving conditions. Upon arrival most of the area of Fort Ancient is relatively flat and very easy to walk or drive. Please confirm with the website whether or not Pets are permitted here. If so, follow any laws pertaining to the Leash Law enforced and imposed State-wide in Ohio. Enjoy your visit!

My grandson and i took the trail down to the river, it was very beautiful and awesome listening to all the cicadas and watching so many fly around. The hike down was easy but the trip back up wore the both of us out lol but it was well worth the time spent with my grandson!
Kenny C — Google review
A great little nature getaway with rich history. $7 pp to your the museum and grounds.
Christy M — Google review
Really enjoyed the museum and gardens. Nice little gift shop. The women's restroom looks like it has not been cleaned in months. They have an overpowering air freshener of some sort which was really not needed. The scent changed to something even worse. Perhaps take the time to deep clean and skip the air freshener that was bothering the visitors. Men's restroom was clean. We would go back, they just need to get rid of the obnoxious air fresheners.

Fraze Pavilion

Live music venue
Concerts & Shows
Fraze Pavilion, located at 695 Lincoln Park Blvd., Kettering, is a picturesque outdoor venue surrounded by reflecting pools, lush trees, and flowers. With seating for about 4,300 people under its fully covered structure, the pavilion hosts a diverse range of American and international artists. Concert-goers can enjoy various seating options at different price points while being assisted by friendly staff.
Saw the band Skillet in concert. Free parking very near. All workers were very pleasant. Beer was $5 for 12 ounce and $8 for 16 ounce. Liquor cans were $8. Snack foods were available. Somewhat smaller concert venue with nice reserved seats and some lawn seating. Getting in and out of venue was surprisingly quick. We waited about 5 minutes after concert before walking out of venue and had no lines to the restroom and then pulled out of parking lot with no wait.
William W — Google review
If I could add 5 more stars I would! We interacted with a dozen people working for Fraze and they were all super nice!! The lady covering our area checked in on the section several times because of the heat/sun to make sure everyone was ok. Who does this and offered this great service??? Had a great time, the location was super nice, and the show was phenomenal!
Steve H — Google review
Get The Led Out played the Fraze last Wednesday 8.13.25. We love hearing Led Zeppelin music played live by this exceptionally talented band. Fraze's outdoor sound floods over the seating areas and throughout the entire venue. We feel safe at the Fraze with the Fraze team of guest service assistants on the grounds. Many are retired people who work the shows. They go out of their way to answer questions and assist guests. Also, a police presence will usually be at the gates or patrolling the grounds. We Love the Fraze Pavilion!
Diane M — Google review
Beautiful venue for a summer concert. Good seating if you pay for the seats. My only complaint is that after a pretty big headliner, the venue (or the city??) did not have anyone running the stop light to get out of the parking area. It took us much longer than it could have if someone would have manned the stoplight.
Amber S — Google review
I saw That Arena Rock Show at the Fraze. Sat in the bleachers and was able to see the entire show. They had real good sound quality as well! Food and drink prices were reasonable. Great place for live music!
Jason T — Google review
If you sit near the stage, it's warm. But the view is great! There aren't any bad seats unless you count sitting on the grass as bad. Dave Koz and the 4 Horns with him was a blast. Back stage was awesome!
Wanda G — Google review
Coming from out of town, the directions were easy to follow, with no problem finding parking. We enjoyed the "Happy Together" show, and our tier seats were excellent. The perfect end of summer weather helped. The facility was well laid out, right down to the restrooms. The staff members were courteous and helpful. There were plenty of close by places to spend the night after the show.

Wonderful location. Great view of the stage from virtually everywhere. Nice amenities, food, drink, bathrooms.

National Museum of the US Air Force

Specialty Museums
The National Museum of the US Air Force, located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio, is a sprawling aviation museum that first opened in 1923. It boasts an impressive collection of about 360 aircraft and weaponry, making it the largest military aviation museum globally. The museum offers various attractions such as flight simulators, a 3D theater, and war-themed exhibits.
Really enjoyed this museum! It’s free to go in and there is some awesome stuff for a free exhibit. Pretty much the entire history of the USAF with few exceptions from what I understand distributed across four different hangars. I’d heavily recommend both the Cold War and the R & D sections if you get a chance as those are the most interesting parts I found! Also they have flight simulators with full roll and a good amount of pitch that feels awesome! Great for families or just to stop in if you’re in town!
Mitchell G — Google review
Absolutely incredible experience. A museum like no other I've ever been to before in my life. I was super stoked to see the SR-71 and the Air Force one plane that JFK used. What an experience and I wouldn't change a thing. The main key is being able to interact with so many of the aircraft and my little guy loved being able to climb into cockpit and pretend he was a fighter pilot. The missile silo was huuuuge and nothing like I've ever seen before. The staff and volunteers were very nice and interactive as well. We were able to come on a random week day when it wasn't busy so we were able to enjoy ourselves without huge crowds. We will definitely be back!!
Scott J — Google review
Great air and history museum! You could easily spend an entire day here. Great historical explanations surrounding the exhibits and very organized. We've been there several times with the kids through the years and always had a great time. Most recently, my daughter and I visited during a "plane talk" event and were able to meet several retired members of the flight crew of different aircraft. Highly recommend!
Stacy F — Google review
The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force is truly one of the most impressive museums I’ve ever visited — and the fact that it’s completely free makes it even more unbelievable. The size of the place is massive, and each hangar takes you deeper into the history of aviation, space exploration, and the U.S. Air Force’s role around the world. The exhibits are incredibly well-organized, starting from early flight history and leading all the way to modern jets, stealth aircraft, and even space capsules. Walking through the hangars feels like stepping through different eras — from WWII bombers to Cold War jets to presidential aircraft. Seeing Air Force One up close and being able to walk inside some of the planes is such a unique experience. Every area is spotless and very well-maintained, and the amount of information available is impressive without being overwhelming. There’s something for everyone — whether you love military history, aviation technology, or just want to see some amazing aircraft in person. The staff and volunteers are also very friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate, which adds so much to the visit. You can easily spend several hours here without even realizing how much time has passed. The museum is perfect for families, tourists, history lovers, and honestly anyone who enjoys seeing something truly extraordinary. This is without a doubt one of Dayton’s biggest treasures, and a must-visit destination for anyone in the area.
Unal G — Google review
Aviation history at its finest—absolutely world-class. This museum is a national treasure. From the Wright brothers to stealth bombers, the scale and depth of the exhibits are staggering. Four massive hangars packed with legendary aircraft, including the X-15, SR-71, and the B-29 that dropped the second atomic bomb. You can even walk through presidential planes like the one Lyndon Johnson was sworn in on. One of the most compelling exhibits is the story of “Flying the Hump”—the daring WWII airlift over the Himalayas to resupply Chinese forces after the Japanese cut off the Burma Road. Pilots flew from India to China through brutal weather, 18,000-foot altitudes, and zero navigation aids. It was dubbed the “Skyway to Hell”, and rightly so: over 500 aircraft were lost, and more than 1,300 crew members perished. Yet this mission was vital to keeping China in the fight and ultimately helped turn the tide in the Pacific Theater. The layout is intuitive, the signage is clear, and the staff—many of them veterans—are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. Best part? Admission is free. You could easily spend a full day here (or several) and still not see everything. Whether you're an aerospace engineer, a military buff, or just curious about flight, this place will leave you inspired. One of the best museums in the country, hands down.
Jacques L — Google review
If you are a military aircraft enthusiast, or a war historian, this has got to be one of the most amazing museums in the world. And has everything from the wright brothers early aircraft contracts with with the army, through modern stealth aircraft and missile technology... And it's totally free admission! I spent over 4 hours there and felt like I could have been there for another full day just reading placards and listening to tour information. Absolute must do if this overlaps with your personal interests.
Brian T — Google review
So glad we took the time to visit this place. It costs nothing to go in, and there's so much to see and do. My toddler had a great time getting to see everything. They also have several planes you get to go inside of or sit in the cockpit of. There are also several interactive exhibits that are great for kids. Overall, it's an amazing display of an important part of history, while also preserving it all exceptionally well.
Ronald K — Google review
Great museum. I've been wanting to check this out for years and finally did it. So much to see. Plan for at least a full day if you want to see it all, more if you really want to spend some time with each exhibit and take it all in with some depth. We saw everything, but had to keep moving. I could easily go back to read and absorb some of the exhibits more closely. I've been to nearly all the air museums and this is one of the best.

Renaissance Park

Event venue
It's a feast for the senses! Food, people, period, costumes, atmosphere, music, attitude, comedy, shopping, and a whole lot of fun for all ages. It offers a small relief from the modern social media age to one of more simple times. Pirates, vikings, fairies, and throw in some Star Wars for good measure. There's no shying away from costumes. Bring cash and a sense of whimsy and enjoy! Yes, you'll spend some serious change but it's all in good fun. ~$40 entry fee, $12 fish and chips, $12 meat on a stick, $12 Dole Whip in a cup, $5 pickle, etc etc etc... it adds up quick. But you're not here for value, you're here for experiences - and that's what you'll get!
All E — Google review
Most amazing time!!! My 2 year old and 8 year old enjoyed it all day with all the different things to see and shows! It was so fun showing off our costumes and admiring all the other festival goers as well. If the cost of tickets is holding you back, splurge, we did and didn’t regret it! Will definitely go again next year :)
Krista C — Google review
you can tell this renaissance festival is one of the best in america! there are so many events and restaurants to eat at. we bought season passes and we still haven't eaten at every restaurant yet! the food and mead are always so good and there're so many places to shop!
Quinn — Google review
Insanely huge and well done Faire full of loads of fun things to do for the whole family. Don’t expect modern rides or attractions. It’s all things you’d find from the period (with a few modern conveniences like bathrooms and garbage cans!). If you have costumes, wear them. More than half the people attending are fully decked out.
Tony W — Google review
Always an amazing time. Fantasy weekend is my favorite. The food went up this year 17.50 for a burger and 7.50 to add fries. We ate when we left but dole whip is a good snack or cheesecake on a stick.
Lorretta K — Google review
As always, so much fun! Plus amazing food, can't wait to go back next year!
Maggie N — Google review
We came here for the Celtic festival, and love the atmosphere. Road was clearly marked, huge sign out on the road. The buildings were on point Renaissance themed. Parking on grass but a high hill so even after rain it wasn't muddy. Bathrooms were not outhouses, real running toilets which is surprising at a festival, this one is permanent. It's a fun place whatever event they are having. Also in early June, the Cicadas were EVERYWHERE, which made it interesting, a community togetherness when everyone was covering their drinks and batting at and catching them 😂😆 Even the bands were remarking how loud they were! But it added to the fun.
Anisa E — Google review

Nature & Parks
Carriage Hill MetroPark, part of the Five Rivers Metro Parks system, is a picturesque city park with an 1880s-era farm, a visitor center, a lake, and nature trails. It's a popular spot for engagement photos due to its unique setting with farmsteads, ponds, and wooded areas. The park offers various activities such as ice fishing in designated spots when conditions are right.
Update: Otters!😄 Carriage Hill MetroPark is a peaceful retreat, especially after a snowstorm. The serene atmosphere, combined with snowy landscapes and abundant birdlife, makes it a perfect spot for photography and relaxation. I particularly enjoyed photographing the farm horses against the wintry backdrop—they were a highlight of my visit. This park’s charm has me eager to return during the warmer months to explore more of its beauty. Highly recommend for nature lovers and photographers alike!

What a lovely place to spend the day, solo or as a couple or a family! Beautiful and so much to experience. The staff here is incredible, all super sweet and full of so much wisdom to share! Animals, rope making, blacksmithing, and so much more. Trails galore, a horse draw buggy ride around the farm, a great place for an outing. Check out there events all year round!
Courtney B — Google review
There are several reasons to come here, the reception center is awesome. But the pond is my favorite! It’s catch and release, no license needed. They have sun fish, bass, cat, frogs galore, turtles, and much more wildlife. The dock is best for the sun fish bluegill. They also have trails to walk, summer be careful if you bring a pet, there are ticks here! Penny cans at the reception center, and horse trails.

I love the barn dance, it is family friendly, lots of fun for all ages. The heritage teachings with baked bread, taffy making, and cooking the hugh pot of beans outside on an open fire for all to enjoy! Teaching how woodworking was back then as well as blacksmithing. My son, and grandson was able to make spin tops! They loved the hands on, and the tops! And the animals! Beautiful love seeing the animals. And how they used them in the fields. Also horse back riding is fun. It has been years since I have been, only because I do not live in this state. Carriage hills park has made great memories. I truly miss going to this park. THANK YOU CARRIAGE HILLS

Going to miss The Original Flea Market in Ohio. Visited for my last time on Saturday October 18th. 2/3 of the indoor market is already empty or abandoned booths. Most of the very few vendors that are left are either going to Traders World, BarnYard Flea Market across the street, or Chillicothe Flea Market. I did score a huge buy from an outdoor vendor. I bought a half pound antique sterling silver dinner bell for $3. I also scored on 9 old V Nickels, all from 1900-1912. Got all 9 for $5!! I'm going to miss this place. Lou and Al had a great run. Admission is Free as it should be. Goodbye Caesar Creek Flea Market!
Wholesale W — Google review
Bring cash not all vendors accept cards and they don't have working atms. You can however purchase in $20 increments vendor bucks at the office, looks like a gift certificate but the vendor can give you cash back. Wasn't hard to use once I figured out where the office was but would have had been easier had I just had cash on hand. Ill definitely be going back.
Brandy J — Google review
Kind of sad that they are closing for good. There still are vendors trying to sell their goods.
David C — Google review
Caesar Creek Flea Market provides an intimate shopping atmosphere with a focus on antiques rather than collectibles. While the market may not align with my personal preferences, those with different tastes might find it intriguing. Notably, I found the vendors generally reserved, with exceptions noted for the blade store in Isle 5 and the doll shop in Isle 1. Regrettably, my experience in the DVD and video game store was less welcoming, as the staff did not acknowledge my presence, and the atmosphere felt unwelcoming. Another customer received prompt attention in a neighboring booth, further emphasizing the inconsistent service. The perceived scrutiny from store personnel, suggesting a suspicion of theft, left an unfortunate impression. Additionally, the two-dollar parking fee seems relatively high, especially considering the modest selection of open shops during my visit. While I appreciate the overall experience, I must weigh these factors and have concluded that a return trip may not be warranted in the future. Constructive feedback and a more inclusive atmosphere could enhance the appeal of this otherwise unique market.

If you Love junk, trinkets, antiques and apple fritters then this is the place for you
Ash W — Google review
Nice vibe in the place with some very unique booths. All of their atms were down and apparently that happens quite often so bring cash with you because everyone doesn’t take cards. Will come back again for sure though
Steven R — Google review
It's not how I remembered it as a kid. It wasn't crowded like the others. And everything was really fairly priced! I loved the book guy on Aisle 5! I got almost the collection of Terry Brooks Shannara Series! Definitely going back to see him ! And gonna go back and see the Antiques Bounty hunter, I think that's what they were called! They had a lot of cool antiques! I got a really nice jewelry box for 20 dollars!

Cowan Lake State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
Camping & cabin rentals are available in this 1,075-acre park that offers hiking, boating & fishing.
Sprawling, pristine manicured state park on picturesque, large inland lake. Paved roadways are nice for bike riding. Many trails were noted throughout the park. The weather, unfortunately, was cold and rainy for the middle of May in Ohio, so we didn't get to do muck trail exploration. Very nice commissary with real ice-cream, not soft serve. Also, a staffed nature center with lots to observe and explore. Hope to return to this park and area again.

If you're looking for a place to rent a boat or just go somewhere where its just peaceful and quiet, this in the place. Absolutely beautiful.

Cowan Lake State Park is a great place to hike, camp, or canoe. August is a wonderful time to enjoy the American lotus waterlily in bloom and the water birds starting to migrate through. Saw several great white egrets today in addition to the resident great blue herons. The marina rents boats if you don't have your own.
Nancy R — Google review
This is a really good choice for a local camp ground, very clean and the restrooms was as well very clean and usable. I would highly recommend this place!
Mark E — Google review
Commissary staff were absolutely horrible. They were rude and inattentive, they didn’t have hardly anything in stock, no souvenirs, nothing. We had to drive into town for food because they not only messed up a simple pizza order but then remade and burnt the other one. Burnt as in black and it snapped in pieces when we bent it. The restrooms were absolutely disgusting and were not touched in the two days we were there. Showers the same. Never cleaned. All the hiking paths were inaccessible. And they allow people who aren’t camping to spend the entire night there sleeping on the ground and rummaging through other campers stuff. Don’t waste your money or trip on this place.

Camp and fish here all the time.its a great place for kids and dogs.

I enjoyed the nature trails that I ventured at this location. It did not take very long to discover the enrichment of good quality clay hidden in the streams, as well as, an arrowhead that I stumbled upon looking for rocks in the creek. There is abundant wildlife that can be seen. Good for bird watching as well, accounted for an Broad-winged hawk, Cardinals, great horned owl, eastern tower, eastern phoebe, and many more.
Matt R — Google review
We attempted to hike a trail near the camp store but were told we had to park at the park entrance because it was a holiday weekend, and they wanted to make sure the campers had priority. That walk to the camp store is a long way from the entrance, it would be nice if they published these new rules. We would have never wasted our time driving to the park if we had know the walk to the location was almost the length of the hike.

Young's Jersey Dairy

Ice cream shop
Young's Jersey Dairy is a multifaceted destination that offers an array of experiences for visitors. As a working dairy farm, it features a renowned ice cream shop known as the Dairy Store, which is celebrated for serving some of Ohio's finest milkshakes. Families can enjoy various activities such as mini-golf, batting cages, and opportunities to interact with animals like goats and cows during milking hours. The on-site Golden Jersey Inn restaurant provides delicious meals.
We had a wonderful experience here! I really appreciate that there’s no admission fee, allowing you to simply pay for the activities you choose—and the prices are very reasonable. The ice cream was absolutely delicious, and our kids had such a great time. Overall, it’s a fantastic spot for families to relax and enjoy themselves.
Lacie C — Google review
The food is ok, definitely could use some flavor. In my opinion it wasn't worth the price. The ice cream and cheese curds are good. They now have rides but I have two kids with a significant age gap. I was told my older child couldn't go in the play area that my younger child could go ( one of the few things he could do there). There was only one thing they could do together. So we weren't able to do much and it was very disappointing. The kids enjoyed the animals though.
Crystal M — Google review
I had an absolute blast here!!! I went for the first time the other day and who knew all the awesomeness that was there to experiance! A Carousel, Feeding Goats, All the pumpkins you can imagine, and not to mention the delicious Ice Cream!! 10/10 Recommend!
Jessica — Google review
Such a fun fall activity! We got the adult wristbands and did the cornmaze, wagon ride, carousel, put put, and driving range. A very fun way to spend time with friends! (There is a foul smell on the right side of the farm due to sewage water they use to water their Christmas trees…so consider that).
Ava Z — Google review
It's a little pricey but worth it!! The staff is amazing and we already know the ice cream speaks for its self!! They have tons of stuff for the kids to do!! Its a great time, you won't be disappointed 😉

I haven’t been here in years and it’s changed so much but is still great! The food is wonderful and the staff are so kind. It gets busy but there are plenty of places to sit. Prices are what to expect for what I consider a destination place. There is so much to do there that we did not have time for. It would be a great day out for a family with children.
Jenn B — Google review
Great family fun. We made a trip here and played putt putt, saw the animals, and got some ice cream. There’s a lot of other activities that were closed for the night when we got there but we will be back again to try them out. A lot of ice cream flavors and options. There was also food available.

My daughter had a company picnic there she invited us. They served youngs ice-cream i loved the peanut butter ice cream very very good. Petting animals and feeding them the gramd kids loved. Batting cages were great. Everything there was nice! Prices reasonable. One the food. Not sure on anything else cuz everything was paid for by company. I highly recommend.

Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve

Nature preserve
Nature & Parks
Nature & Wildlife Areas
Limestone & dolomite gorges offering varied hiking paths, some with wooden walkways & lookouts.
A beautiful hike at Clifton Gorge the other day with my two best friends. Our GPS on Google took us to this small parking lot right next to a neighborhood. The sign said "high crime area do not leave valuables in vehicles". My vehicle was ok when we were finished with our hike. Also no dogs allowed on this trail. The pictures do this area no justice. This trail is beautiful. I think we started at the perfect spot. There were spots along the wood trail to look out at the gorge. And some spots on the trail were fairytale-like. When we came to the stairs there was a nature center with two porta potties. It was nice to come across a restroom in the middle of your hike. We decided to go down the stairs and follow that trail then come back up on the north rim trail. This hike had all the things that I enjoy while taking in nature.
Amber E — Google review
As I stepped into the nature preserve for the first time, I was filled with curiosity and a hint of apprehension. The sign warning of a high crime rate had made me uneasy, but I decided to push those thoughts aside. With no particular expectations, I wandered into the lush expanse that unfolded before me. To my delight, the preserve proved to be absolutely breathtaking. Cascading waterfalls echoed through the trees, their waters glistening in the sunlight as they tumbled over moss-covered rocks. The air was fresh, infused with the earthy scent of damp soil and blooming wildflowers, and the vibrant greenery all around was a feast for the eyes. As I strolled along the winding trails, I was captivated by the picturesque scenery—sunlight filtering through the canopy overhead, casting dappled shadows on the path below. It was a serene escape from the worries of daily life, and despite my initial concerns, I felt a profound sense of peace washing over me. In that moment, the beauty of nature held my undivided attention, easily eclipsing any fears I had about the area.
Shane C — Google review
Peaceful walk through beautiful woodland trails beside the river. Went midweek middle of the day. Easy parking a short stroll from Clifton Mill where you can get a hearty breakfast before hitting the trails. We went late May after a very wet spring so there was lots of white water creating stunning views down the gorge. There are plenty of look outs to take your photos. Some trails are easy others needed sturdy footwear and good balance as rocky path is quite slippery after the rain.
Claire H — Google review
No pets??? This nature preserve has decent natural views, but is lacking in basic groundskeeping and maintenance. It seems the State course to invest more in the fancy signs at the entrance than the actual trail itself. Uneven and unkempt trails, no trash/recycling, and no pets allowed?? Do better!
Jordan S — Google review
The trails are beautifully maintained, clean, and easy to explore, making it an enjoyable outing. I particularly loved photographing the wildlife—the area is teeming with diverse species and offers plenty of opportunities to capture nature at its finest. The scenery along the gorge is stunning. That said, the stairs on the gorge trails are quite steep and can be challenging without the right footwear. I plan to return with proper shoes to fully enjoy everything the preserve has to offer.
Mocha M — Google review
This nature preserve is stunning. If you are in the area, please don't miss it. It's amazing that you can be driving through cornfields and all of a sudden there's this! Be aware that the lower trail is a little more precarious and lots of rocks. Can be very slick if it has just rained. The upper trail is very easy to do. This preserve connects to the John Bryant State Park so if you want to make the trail longer you can head into the park. Today the flowers are beautiful. Every time I go there are different flowers blooming. Even if you only have a short time, you should still go here. Worth every minute.
Ruth Z — Google review
If you love Hocking Hills like I do you'll love it here. Great easy trail, no litter and spectacular views!

Historic Clifton Mill

$$$$affordable
Restaurant
Historic site with a vintage mill, covered bridge, '40s-era gas station & casual American eatery.
We did not eat there but went for the Christmas lights. Absolutely amazing light show. It was crowed but accessible. Great for the Littles too. Santa was there along with some great holiday displays. It was $15 per person to get in and even though traffic was thick, the employees got everyone parked fast. Just make sure you park in marked areas. The city of Clifton has a lot marked for no parking. Food is available but easy to get too. Lines were long. Besides that, we had a great experience.

Three of us went for breakfast today. We each got something different and we all loved our meals. The service was quick and the waitresses were attentive. We felt the prices were good for the amount of food you got. We were able to sit by a window and it was fun to see the water and the different critters around.

We had lunch at the Clifton Mill yesterday for my wife's birthday. This was our first time here and the place was wonderful. The mill and setting with a walkable covered bridge was very picturesque. The water running through the the stream and mill race was soothing. The food portions were generous and prepared well. We all had breakfast items that are served all day. The place is only open for breakfast and lunch I believe. Our server was excellent and kept my coffee cup filled. I get the pancakes which were just huge. If you finish off the first two in the order they will give you a third one free. I failed the challenge and took my leftover pancakes home. They have an extraordinary display of lights and other wonders at Christmas. We intend on coming back to try other items.

This place is amazing like 100000 stars. Our family used to go there all the time when we me and my siblings were little. We came back today after 6 years and 2 extra kids. They remembered us and we only had to wait 5 minutes for our food. 5 MINUTES!!!!!! The omelet was delicious best omelet literally ever!! The Big Breakfast is 30 dollars and 5 people ate off of it and we had leftovers. The pancakes are as big as skillets. The flavor of the food is unbeatable and the servers are amazing 👏 🤩 😋 👌 🙌🏾

Frank Lloyd Wright's Westcott House

Mentioned on

Museum
Sights & Landmarks
The Westcott House, a prairie-style home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, has been restored and transformed into a museum. The architect's emphasis on integrating nature into the living space is evident in the design, with windows strategically placed to offer views of the surrounding park. The house features a reflecting pool and showcases Wright's favorite color, Cherokee Red, on its brick patio and fabric awning. Visitors can explore the history of the house and its former occupants through informative tours led by knowledgeable guides.
We had a friend come into town for the week and used that opportunity to go see this wonderful house. It starts off with a little movie, and a tour director takes you around the home. The director was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the history and restoration of the house. The architecture of this home is neat to see and experience the genius of the design. He used sunlight to his advantage to bring light into rooms in a spiceal way. The wood working on the built-in cabinets is amazing, and the layout is very clever. Taking into consideration the age, there is no accommodation for wheelchairs. I highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in homes of this style. Our tour took about an hour and a half and was well worth the price. I am now wanting to travel to other similar homes in Ohio to continue to see this master's work.
David S — Google review
Well restored Frank Lloyd Wright work. Reasonably priced 1.5 hour tours of the building are available almost every day at multiple times. Gift shop and parking available. Would recommend as a day trip. We had a great time and learned a lot about the house, the family, and the architect.

Fascinating Frank Lloyd Wright house. Tours are scheduled, so buy tickets online and in advance. 90 minute tour is interesting whether you are a Wright expert or this is your first tour. Plenty of details and information about him and the house. The tour is required to see inside the house. Definitely worth the price of admission.
Brad W — Google review
Incredible tour with a super knowledgeable guide. Our guide packed so much information into our 90 minute tour-it was amazing. She gave us a history of the home and really shined a spotlight on the amazing restoration work that had been done. Would highly recommend for anyone with even a passing interest in architecture or design.
Cara T — Google review
We loved it! The tour guide made the whole visit. He clearly knew a lot about the house and FLW. You can tell he really loves sharing this with people and that really made it special. The house is beautiful and lovingly restored. You really get the feel that FLW was going for in this house. The gift shop is full of all sorts of fun things. I definitely want to go back for Christmas presents! This is not handicap accessible. There are multiple sets of stairs and no elevator.

Hidden gem in a diamond in the rough city. Springfield has such a rich architectural and cultural legacy, and it shines still despite economic downturns and negative news coverage. Don’t sleep on the Westcott House! It is a magnificent experience from start to end. Our tour guide was dynamic and super knowledgeable, and kept the entire tour engaging with captivating details.

Was not our first FLW tour … won’t be our last either. The docent spent over an hour and a half with our small group of 5. Very in depth tour and fascinating to hear about all the efforts (and successes) that went into renovations. Sort of a must do if you’re a fan of his style.

Shopping
Shopping-mall chain featuring a variety of brand-name & designer outlet stores.
Good deals here when there are sales. Pretty wide assortment of all different types of stores. There's something here for everyone. A food court as well. Covered canopy thru the main isles. Kids playground with turf as well.

I haven't been here in about 13 years, so I was excited to visit with my husband to look at shoes, but we were quickly disappointed. 😢 It's like a ghost town. An outlet mall on a Saturday, perfect weather, and hardly any customers or stores were around. There aren't many stores to peruse here like there used to be, unfortunately. I guess it's sufficient if you're seeking a specific store and it's located here, but it's not a place you can spend over an hour without getting bored.

Most shops had left but went for shoes. 😥 Got great service, very helpful at the Sketchers shoe store !! Had good sale of buy 2 & get 3rd free. We bought to 2 pairs of the slip-ins for my husband & I got 1 pair for me. The girls there made sure our shoes fit comfortably & we were very satisfied 😊💞 Hope to go back & find them again!!

The name change from the all time remembered “Jeffersonville outlet mall” to “the Destination outlet mall” was the biggest mistake the mall owners ever made. What was wrong with the old name that people knew and remembered? It’s understandable that with all the new competition around Ohio and more and more anchor retailers like Coach leaving the outlet, the people in charge said: this is getting scary😬 Let’s change the name Guess what boys and girls It didn’t work We were there last Saturday and it was a ghost town. We were the only people there on a Beautiful Saturday watching some crew setting up the fake sport’s car race competition for the next day on Sunday. Who organizes these events? This place really needed an event today on Saturday not tomorrow on Sunday. It really doesn’t matter because no matter what day the fake sport’s car race competition takes place, it will not help this place that once “WAS” The Destination Outlet. Too late. So sad to see this place to Join the list of historic popular shopping places in Ohio. RIP The Jeffersonville Outlet Mall…🪦

Although there are a lot of stores gone now, it's still a beautiful place. I really hope to see them thrive again. My daughter and I were able to make a day out of shopping and had a blast.

Great stores! Great outlet mall! Update Jan 2024. This place is starting to look like a ghost town with stores leaving left and right. Recently they lost Nike, Gap, Old Navy, Clark Shoes, Kate Spade. The brand new owners are working hard to find new tenants, I still have hope this place can turn around. As new businesses are opening shop.
Slacking P — Google review
Not many stores to shop. The main store is the fragrance outlet when had an amazing sale. Other than that not worth the drive or walk.

This mall made me sad. We went into a few good shops like Ann Taylor, Chico's, Eddie Bauer, and Bath and Body, but there were a lot of empty store fronts. It is not the same great outlet mall as in the past. But, we did get some great deals in the stores we went in.

The people working in this place are an absolute treasure. Full of knowledge and positivity. The planes are great too! It's amazing to see the internals of the B-17 as the guys are working on it. The WASP exhibit was a highlight, for sure.
Ed C — Google review
It’s fairly small but solid. It’s primarily military history and not broad aviation history. There are a number of cool planes and exhibits. They do a lot of restoration here with many workers actively engaged. Parents, watch your young ones closely, there are areas where running kids may trip on items. The women’s history area was the best part in my opinion.
Thirteendays — Google review
A hidden gem for history and aviation enthusiasts. They have a small collection of aircraft and artifacts with interesting history, but the star of the show is the B-17G "Champaign Lady." This isn't a restoration. They are building a brand new aircraft with some restored original parts. The volunteers are super friendly and proud to show you every detail of what they are doing to preserve history. If you are a fan of the B-17, this museum is a must-visit destination. You won't be kept back by rope barriers like most other museums. The volunteers let you see the work being done up close and in person. I learned more about the design and construction of a B-17 in an hour than all the books and videos I've ever seen. I wish I lived closer so I could volunteer here and be a part of this most worthy endeavor.
Rob S — Google review
This is a facinating museum. It is very unique in that they are actively restoring aircraft while visitors are enjoying the aircraft and military artifacts. It is also located in a very pretty area. Friendly staff and all I have mentioned make this a must see!!!
Daniel M — Google review
Great museum! The people there are all very friendly and excited to tell you more about whatever you want to know. My highlight was the 1940s flight simulator that I was shown in details and allowed to fly myself. Everything is very open and one can even climb in one aircraft and sit in the cockpit.
Ann-Kathrin R — Google review
What a gem! Must see for history, flight, and as a working museum. They have a fantastic women in flight area where you can listen to real stories by WASPs. Very knowledgable and willing to answer questions and give explanations.
Kelly C — Google review
The entrance has some small displays including a car, ball and tail turrets along with an engine. This is just tintsy showing of all you will find once you walk through the interior museum. This is a live museum as they are actively restoring a B-17 Flying Fortress called Champaign Lady. Expect some loud noise while walking through the museum as the volunteers are working. There is so much memorabilia that you can get lost in it all. Outside of the actively flying B-25 Mitchell called Champaign Gal, you can walk into the DesertAir, a C-47 Skytrain. They have a couple mini-planes for your tikes to ride in too. The displays show those that actually flew in the war and the items they wore or had with them. I was totally overwhelmed by everything as there was so much history here. The plane miniatures were one of my favorites as when I was a young man I made plane models and hung them from the ceiling in my room. If the history in this museum could talk, this place would talk for decades. If you are a war historian, an aircraft buff or just want to learn more about the days grandpa flew in WWII, this is a stop for you. They have a small gift shop where you can get some shirts, jackets, coins and other trinkets. Even though it is a free museum, please make a donation! ✈️ We all want to see Champaign Lady flying again. Check their schedule as you can be a passenger on the Champaign Gal when she is flying. I missed it by a few days 😥
Daniel G — Google review
A small but free aviation museum with workers that are knowledgeable, friendly and love to answer any questions, there is a B-17 bomber that is currently being restored and is a marvel how much has been accomplished. The new hanger has even more planes to view.

Ohio Caverns

Nature & Parks
Amusement park
35-acre park features striking limestone caverns with over 2 miles of passageways & guided tours.
My biggest concern on going to this place was if I would be too "fluffy" to get through the passage. I am also a bit claustrophobic. These two things made me very nervous. I can tell you that it is very possible to do even as a very pear shaped 280 LB person. There are the 60 stairs at the end, but they are concrete, with solid handrails and the step rise is reasonable. So if you struggle, position yourself to the back of the line, and you will have less pressure to move quickly. I found the tour guides patient and funny. I focused on taking pictures to get through it mentally. The place is lovely overall. I do find the ticket price a bit high, but I find every ticket price high lately. To be fair, it is in line with the many other attractions and museums etc. The place does allow water bottles in the cave, I wish I had realized that upfront and I was very parched at the end. If I could do it over, I would take my nicer camera. I took an older one just in case.

Took my family here for the first time and we all had an amazing time. Our tour guide Dan was very knowledgeable and did a good job on the tour. My kids also enjoyed the gem mining activity. The place was nice and clean, and they really did a good job preserving the cavern.

We've made it our mission to see all the caverns in Ohio and this is supposed to be one of the best and most colorful. The price is comparable to the other caverns (which is obnoxiously high) but we found ourselves walking out a bit underwhelmed. The tour guide was enjoyable and knowledgeable but the colors were seriously lacking for such a big claim. The formations and columns were cool and you end up going seriously deep underground but I enjoyed the self guided tours at one of the other caverns more than this tour.

We had SO much fun at the Caverns. Wonders around every corner and so incredible! Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The gift shop was spectacular and all the staff were helpful and pleasant. So blessed to have this place in Ohio. The kids also enjoyed the gem mining activity. So cool and exciting to see what they reveal in their bags. 10/10 experience. Thank you!

The Ohio Caverns were beautiful and worth the almost hour trip. Any longer probably unless you’re a traveling cave fanatic. Anyways with that being said the staff there is very nice and understanding my daughter bought tickets in advance but accidentally thought she for them for the weekend we decided to go. Unfortunately it was for the following week but they went a head and lets go that day instead. The tour guys are very knowledgeable as will. As for the cavern itself it is nice. But beware if you have claustrophobia really bad. I don’t recommend they will tell you how deep you are. If you are scared of the dark they will turn off the lights for a few moments so that you can see how dark it is if you were down there with no lights. But they will warn you before they turn them off. I also don’t recommend it for handicap people which need a walker, or wheelchair after all it is a cavern so there are low place and tight places and you have to climb 60 stairs to get out of the cavern. Now if you have a hard time walking after you make it out or if you are a elderly person who decided to go down with a cane they will send someone with a golf cart to take you back to the gift shop. You are allowed to take pictures with your phones with the flash on but not allowed to take video which is understandable since they do give you information about the caverns. If you can’t afford the caverns they do have a free trail of trees to adventure in and a lovely park; picnic area to eat and enjoy the view, and a nice gift shop to spend your money on for all those people who love all types of rocks yes I am talking about all you geologist. Lastly and most importantly if you are lucky to get to see the caverns please don’t touch the rock or the quartz down there there thing a have grown for thousands of years and will be there still growing even a small can take up 4,000 years to grow just that size. They are beautiful so please keep it that way so that everyone can see for future’s to come. Why I am saying this is because they showed a once beautiful peace of nature that they called a lucky stone that they used to let people touch on the way out that is now looks dirty from the oils of our human hands. So just be respectful and take photos and keep hands away.

We were staying at Indian Lake State Park and didn’t have many plans. Saw something for the caverns so decided to make the trip down and check them out. I’m glad we did. We did both the Historic and Natural Wonders tours. If you just want to see stalagmites and stalactites the natural wonders tour is perfect. If you like history and want to learn a little more about the area and discovery of the caverns then do the combo tour, I’m glad we did both. The caverns are 54 degrees year round. It’s been in the 90’s for the past week. I took a sweatshirt on the first tour but ended up being hot so left it in the car for the second tour. The colors are really neat and have some really cool designs. The formations are always pretty as they are always so different from place to place.
Julie S — Google review
We did the nature tour and it never disappoints. Our guides were knowledgeable and their voices carried well throughout our group of around 10-12 people. My granddaughter enjoyed seeing all the formations in the caverns and wants us to take her cousins when they're in town for a visit.
Dennis A — Google review
I did both the history and natural wonder tours( recommend both) It started with the history tour and how it was discovered. There's not a lot of formations in this tour ( explained why in the tour) The natural wonder tour was amazing, each room we entered was beautiful. You will however hear the same jokes on both tours. But both guides were great

State Highpoint number 13. Ohio. A great little hill on a beautiful day.

Neat place to visit, not easy to find, need better signs to follow. Good place to add to your "places to go see in Ohio." Be sure to sign the visitors' book and get a certificate of visit.

Cool historic place. There are plans to open a small museum here to showcase and honor the men and women who worked here in the protection of our nation.

Unique area. It is on the campus of a vocational school. Follow signs to find this point. Area was very clean. We stopped and took a few pictures and caught a few Pokemon. Stayed about 15 minutes.

Very well arranged and clean experience. If you're even remotely interested in the history of this Juggernaut of a company, I highly recommend you make the trip to Marysville. Admission is free and you will need your ID but the heritage center is pretty awesome take it from me.

If you’re a Honda fan, it’s worth stopping by. It’s very clean and neat and well organized. I can’t imagine the guts, wisdom and foresight it must’ve taken Honda to decide and build a motorcycle/automotive plant in the middle of Ohio.

I truly enjoyed myself! There was so much to see when it came to Honda and Acura history, there were a lot of cars on display as well as a lot of information about how the cars are made and tested. I would rate it a 10 out of 10, definitely recommend visiting.

I thought this was pretty cool! It’s smaller than I thought it would be but it’s a nice quick little walk through to see some classics!

Great place to visit. Took my wife and I, about 90' to go through. If you enjoy Honda products you will enjoy the museum. Displays of history of Honda in America. Display of products produced from the first motocross bike to the MAX, which is made close by. Also displays of the importance of racing to Honda.
J C — Google review
This place was so cool! Learned a lot about the history of Honda in the United States.

Unique museum telling the story of Honda. Free to enter. Some interesting history, and car displays. Unfortunately no factory tour available. Missed opportunity for some engineering explanation with engine cutaways, but not much description on details. Robotic factory simulation was a good display.

Deer Creek State Park

Recreation area with on-site accommodations, meadows, woodlands & a lake fringed by a beach.
Stayed here for the first time in our new RV in years. Clean facilities!Friendly and helpful camper hosts. Great spots! Peaceful and just what we needed. We already have 2 more 2 week long reservations and will be making 1 more before we head to our winter destination.

What's not to love about the peaceful, wonderful, outdoors? Been coming to Deer Creek State Park since I was a little one. Always try to go through the week, not so busy. Lots of full hookup sites if you have RV or camper. Still so quiet. Wish I could be a full-time camper.
Rich B — Google review
Nice campground with mostly wooded sites that give you more privacy. Road through the campsites is a little tight for backing in a bigger rig, but can be done. The woods around the campground have numerous mature oaks that give great shade on hotter days!
Steve W — Google review
Been going to deer creek for over 20 years now. I love that place, its my 2nd home. Plenty of good fishing, wildlife, and things to see and do! The campground is always clean! If your into disc golf, there's a nice course there! Recently the lodge entrance got a makeover and the pool has been updated, along with some other updates there also! Deer creek is a wonderful place to bring family, friends, or meet new people also! One of the best state parks in Ohio in my opinion!!!!!
Slade M — Google review
Deer Creek is lovely. The space is all so beautiful. We stayed in a dog-friendly cabin and had a nice time, even though it rained a lot. I think the lodge staff should share with guests that the cabin door can be difficult to open. Don't give up, it will open!
H B — Google review
The fire rings are nice , but being up so high, 1. We had to build the wood up to get the full effects of fire. 2. When there was a small or big amount of wind ,the ash from wood burning would blow from underneath, so we had to watch it closely due to the trees around the camp site. I'm just saying we didn't understand why up so high as the pictures show.
Cheryl L — Google review
Good trails, great lake. There are a lot of other amenities. Marina is nice and there is a golf course.

Trapper John's Canoe Livery

Canoe & kayak rental service

Boat Tours
Trapper John's Canoe Livery offers a variety of canoe and kayak trips on Big Darby Creek, suitable for friends and couples. They provide different trip lengths, including moonlight tours in the summer. The pricing is reasonable, and the staff is helpful. While low water levels may cause some scraping, the experience is generally relaxing and enjoyable with plenty of wildlife to see along the way.
The BEST kayak experience ever, and family owned by the kindest people!!! We parked and checked in inside their cute log cabin building where they had coffee, candles, the cutest sweatshirts, as well as some snacks and drinks to take with you on your trip. After checking in, the sweetest staff set us up with life jackets and kayaks (there are also canoes available!) before giving us a brief demonstration (we kayak a lot so didn’t need anything long). Tyler was so sweet and walked us through everything, telling us to take our time and about the spots we could stop to sun and eat lunch along the way. The river trail was the perfect amount of shaded and sunny, plenty of spots to dock, and so much wildlife to see! Emily, Nick, and Hannah welcomed us back, needless to say we were so impressed by the staff and the friendliness of the entire place. A MUST GO and perfect for a day or half day trip from Columbus!

Great place for kayaking/canoeing. I've been here a handful of times now and its always a pleasant experience. We usually canoe, it was a little over $40 for 2 us of this time, so very reasonable price in my experience. We chose the 1-2 hour trail but they told us we could stay out until 6pm. There was a spot about an hour through where you could stop if you were done. Plenty of places to dock along the way for breaks or to swim. Lots of wildlife around. There were forks in the river where there was a less and more extreme route, depending on your preference. The staff is great, friendly & helpful. We went on a Sunday this time and there were a surplus of people which was the only bad part. Other than that, I highly recommend!

Kayaking the Big Darby Creek today with Trapper John’s Canoe Livery was one of best experiences we’ve had after living nearby for 25 years. The creek was perfect for beginner kayaking, and the wildlife was abundant. Today we saw many turtles, as well as owls, Baltimore orioles, bald eagles, and quite a few belted kingfishers! The east side of the creek provided lots of shade in the morning. The staff was amazing, unloading the kayaks, getting us launched and were also there when we got to Trapper John’s after paddling downstream. An absolutely wonderful day. We will be back!!!
Nathan J — Google review
It was very difficult to rate this kayak rental place. As you can see from my many other posts, I try to be fair. there’s really no “physical place” or building. you just show up at a parking lot, that has an entry point and they have kayaks for you. I’m not sure if they have a building and they just can’t access it right now. then at certain points, when they are interchanging, as in kayakers are returning from a trip and then people are waiting to go out on a trip, parking becomes difficult. I am also fairly certain this is also a public access for kayaks or canoes. other than that, the staff was very friendly very informative. Explain everything to kayaks going out . making reservations Online was fairly easy. I think the prices are a little high compared to other kayak places I have rented before near Little Miami, where I got a five hour trip for the same price. And it was also nice because you went from point a to point B you know where you started and you know where you finish and then you take a bus back to the start. here you are you getting your kayak and you just paddle wherever you want. They do give you a map to follow. timewise, in regards to that map, is to be determined. You really need to keep an eye on your watch. I don’t know on how picky they are about returning exactly after whatever time you paid for, 2 hour limit or one hour limit. I do believe they have other types of longer trips that you could contract for. You’ll need to go to the website to find that out. Parking ⭐️(gets very congested at interchange) Staff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (very friendly very informative, answered all your questions) Kayaks ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Establishment—cannot review because there wasn’t any. In other pictures that I have viewed there does appear to be an actual building for trapper John’s, but for some reason they couldn’t operate out of that at time we went. Value ⭐️⭐️ (solely based on 1 or 2hr) trip

We had the best kayaking experience as beginners and all thanks to this company. Their service is so good, right from check-in, providing all the gear and their staff. The rules and professionalism made my family feel especially comfortable. Our instructor, and drivers up & back were great. Highly recommend this place for a family adventure.

Definitely coming back in the spring! I had an amazing time with my group! Great place for beginners, nature lover and first time paddlers. Plus the Cafe is extremely adorable and delicious with many options to choose from with fresh baked items. I have a new love for canoeing boat🚣‍♀️ Definitely a place for people of all sizes and very inclusive environment.

They have several options for duration/length of the trip for kayaks and canoes. Good for all ages rent or bring you own equipment. Friendly staff. Out group dragged on the bottom a bit on our trip so I recommend going when the water level is high. Overall nice spot and business.
Bradley B — Google review
We spent $100 just to kayak a short way for two people. At the end of our trip we had to wait for their bus to pick us up in the pouring rain. When one finally showed up there wasn’t even close to enough room for the 20 plus people waiting so we had to catch the next one. Also the driver had another customer load up everyone’s kayaks and that gentleman didn’t even get a seat on the first bus. The driver then said another bus would come back eventually. When a few of us finally called 30min later to ask if our ride was coming back because it’s right down the road and they had told us to call if there wasn’t a bus at the pickup point, a very rude lady told us we need to wait and there will be one eventually. After a total of an hour of waiting we finally got on the second bus but by that time multiple people were arguing, almost fighting, and cutting each other in our made up 30 person line to get on the next bus and out of the rain, thunder, and lighting. I will never go back. The old ownership was amazing and we never had any problems. It’s obvious the new ownership is over charging and trying to cut corners. I was really upset when we finally got back to our cars there were 3 buses not being used at all.

Water & Amusement Parks
Zoombezi Bay is a thrilling water park located next to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, offering a perfect blend of refreshing water attractions and spooky, zombie-themed experiences. The park features a giant pool, raft slides, high-speed mat races, lazy rivers, and more. In addition to its water rides, Zoombezi Bay also boasts haunted houses and scare zones for horror enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy non-water rides like the Sea Dragon roller coaster as well.
I enjoyed my time there. Kid and adult friendly. Parking only $10 and they have all day rental lockers for an affordable rate. I do recommend wearing water shoes to avoid walking barefoot on high traffic wet areas. It is first come first serve for the tubes at the lazy river but still very enjoyable. They have a “fast pass” option which I thought was nice. Drinks were a little pricey, but they do hand out water cups to make sure everyone is staying hydrated. I thought the burger and fry meal was reasonably priced. You can also bring your own food, get stamped, go out to your car and eat, and come back at no fee. All and all I will definitely go again! Super easy to get to as well!

We had a great time. We got there when the park opened and rented a 21+ lounger space on the same day, but they do advise to book in advance online. For reserved padded lounge chairs in the semi private shade, access to the wait staff and a safe large enough to fit a large shoulder bag, we felt that the $100 fee was worth it. Since a large locker is $22 already. And since we also came in from out of town, the day use of towels included with the lounge rental were a nice bonus. The staff running the bar in that area were friendly and helpful. I would also advise to go to the left side of the parking lot when you arrive for close access to the Zoombezi entrance. If you follow the masses, you are going to end up on the zoo side with a considerable walk ahead of you. Take sunscreen. If this is the one thing you forget, the standard 6oz size spray is $30 on site. 30-40oz of heavily tequila laden margaritas is cheaper than 6oz of sunscreen here.

We went on weekend and it was super crowded. They have lots of fun things for kids and plenty of seating area. There’s no shade on rides. They have separate sheds for seating but you have to reserve them and they charge a lot for those “Cabanas”. It’s worth money if you’re someone who doesn’t mind going to overcrowded places.

Cashless isn't always convenient. Especially for a young person working and having cash they can't spend or having to purchase a card to purchase some over priced and mediocre food. Our pizza was overpriced and was terrible. Pool was shut down nobody knew why I don't know just filled on the organized

Cool place for kids. Def worth it to get the annual gold pass with free parking if you live close by and will visit often. Bring food and drinks, expensive and not that great inside.

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is a sprawling park located about 20 miles north of downtown, showcasing a wide variety of land and sea life. With over 10,000 animals from more than 500 species across six themed areas, visitors can enjoy hands-on experiences like the tide pool and Jack Hanna's Animal Encounters Village. The zoo also offers additional attractions such as the Wilds conservation center, Zoombezi Bay water park for summer fun, and an 18-hole Safari Golf Course.
This was the coolest zoo we've been to. The rides do cost extra but there's so much to do in the zoo that you don't need it. There's so many animals and each exhibit is meticulously planned to provide a nice space for the animal. The zoo flowed well and we really enjoyed the different sections so we knew what to expect for the animals. Great zoo and a great experience.
Rachel B — Google review
The zoo itself was great. Very enjoyable and I loved the amount of space the enclosures had for the animals. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is cuz the food is outrageous. $15 for a cheeseburger, $8 for a hotdogs. It cost us $90 just for food for a small party. Definitely pack your own lunch before your visit.
Laura M — Google review
What a great time going. The last time I was here was when I was a child and how it has grown and changed is incredible. Such a diverse choice of animals from different regions of the world. Great displays touching upon conservation, education, and the impact mankind has on wildlife. Many extras with gift shops, food choices, rides, etc. Highlights were the manatee and hyena displays.
Salt S — Google review
This was our 1st time visiting the Columbus Zoo and we had a GREAT time. It was cold so a lot of animals weren't out (which was expected) but the animals were did see were awesome and their habitats were set up really nice. We will definitely visit again.
Sarah L — Google review
Definitely get there in the morning because you’re going to need A LOT of time! The zoo is massive, we got there while there was still 2 hours to closing and barely saw 25% of it! We greatly enjoyed our time nonetheless! We went on a Friday and it wasn’t crowded, the zoo was very clean and we loved how large the enclosures were for the animals. Will definitely come back if we get the chance and spend all day there!
Lacie C — Google review
Honestly this zoo wasn’t it for us. We’ve been to an array of zoos over the years and found this one just wasn’t what we had hoped for. While it was clean and the layout was simple we found that many animals were off exhibit and many sections of the zoo not accessible for different events . Our favorite part however was the polar bear exhibit. It was fantastic and the animals are truly spectacular. Our least favorite is paying for parking and general admission costs, we found it to be much higher than other zoos we’ve traveled too and found that since the lack of animals on display + cost had us uninterested in returning for another visit.
Heather J — Google review
This is my absolute favorite zoo so far. The wildlife is well taken care of. The aquarium is clean, beautiful, large, it's equally very amazing. The aquatic life is extremely happy. It seems all these animals have great space to be as close to real life as they can get in safety. I love Africa to see everything's so large. The restrooms are spotless. The employees are very kind and helpful. I can't say enough good about my experiences here. It's above in comparison to others I've been to in my surrounding areas. The gorillas have an amazing habitat as well as many other animals habitats there. I spend the night at a hotel so I can enjoy the entire zoo and take my time. I love the reptile building also. I can go on..

We had an amazing day at the Columbus Zoo. The Red Panda experience was absolutely incredible and 100% worth it. Getting to learn about these adorable animals up close was unforgettable. Tom from the Education Team was especially fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what he does. You can tell how much he cares about the animals and making the experience special for guests. Highly recommend this zoo and the animal experiences to anyone visiting Columbus!

Bar
Throw Nation Columbus, located in Dublin, is a lively axe throwing bar that offers various games like football bowling, plate smashing, stump, and tiki table toss. The venue features a full bar with great deals on drinks and daily specials. It's an ideal spot for group gatherings where you can compete against each other in different games. The friendly staff provides excellent instruction and ensures everyone has a fantastic time.
This was our 1st axe throwing adventure and it certainly won't be the last. We had so much fun. The instruction was wonderful. We were checked on frequently to ensure we were having fun or if we needed anything. When we arrived we had to wait for the rest of our group to arrive but we amused ourselves in an area with soft couches and chairs with corn hole and a football. There was also a corner with a table and chairs and a giant jenga set. So even if you arrive and must wait, you can still start having fun. They even had a TV so we could watch the beginning of a playoff game as we finished up throwing. The entire place is a giant open floor plan with the bar in the center. Each throwing area has it own table and chairs for the throwers or observers to sit (very much like bowling alleys) which was perfect for us since we had a group of 6 adult throwers, 2 adult non throwers and 2 children. In fact the only 2 things that would have been nice is a couple high chairs and a few more games like giant checkers, ring toss or basketball hoop and a blocked off area next to a throwing area for kids to play as parents threw for people who must bring kids with them. We definitely plan on returning for another birthday party next month. 2nd visit was just as fun as the 1st. We've already made plans for another visit.

What a great Outing with coworkers. we had 20 people. We had two instructors assigned to us. It was a great team building experience competitive and fun. Instructors were great!!! After throwing axes, there’s plenty more to do Jenga cornhole, etc. I would definitely recommend this place and we will certainly go back!!

Honestly the most fun I’ve had on a weekend night and a long time. There is a bar with a lot of variety and really good deals. There is a three dollar draft of the bartenders choice which makes it very affordable, and daily deals that are actually really good. For the best time, bring a group of friends and play the games against each other where you get to create your own teams and find out who the true lumbermaster is. If you have already been, you know it’s fun. If you haven’t, give it a try!

We took my wife to Throw Nation for her birthday and it did not disappoint! Coleman was our host (though he called himself Axel for the duration) and he was hilarious and a great axe-throwing teacher. The games were entertaining and the bar was well-stocked. Staff were all great and even the waiver process was quick and easy. A great place for groups to have fun! Even the kids enjoyed the football bowling game. We will be back!

We had a company party here for 18 on Saturday, Dec 7. Arrived about an hour early to socialize, gather the group, sign waivers and scope it out. Our axe throwing started promptly at 7 and the 2 guys that ran it were awesome. They first showed us how to throw and then the games were on for the next 1.5 hours or so. Our office and significant others all had a blast. After axe throwing we moved on to football bowling and that too was a lot of fun. Cool atmosphere, great bartenders (Andrea was awesome) and good fun. Highly recommend.

We had our 10-year-old’s birthday party here on a Sunday afternoon and everything was fabulous! From booking, to answering questions, to setting stuff up and keeping the party going smoothly, the staff was wonderful. The venue has a nice open feel and there was a lot more space and side activities (corn hole, football bowling, etc) than I had anticipated. Our Axepert, Lauren, was so friendly and helpful. Everyone kept saying how much fun the party was!

Newer, modern corner building of a strip mall. Lots of parking and handicap parking available. Large open facility, clean, rustic, great feel and just plain cool establishment! Large stocked bar with beers on tap located center of facility. Get your spirit on! Staff friendly, pleasant, personable and awesome! The two ladies working here were knowledgeable and helpful as well. First appearance when we walked in was "WOW, this place is awesome!" What made the deal was the staff. They offer single player to large groups, with or without extra services such as your own personal group advisor/instructor/trainer/guide, etc. My boyfriend made reservations for an hour and a half of axe play for me and another for himself online through their website. I recommend to make your reservations online. You can be creative with axe throwing by playing "tic tac toe" game and other games, just ask one of the staff, they'll be happy to instruct you on how to play many games. Pinball machines are also available for those who have that nostalgic feeling or for the newer generations that appreciates old school gaming. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and highly recommend this place to everyone. Come and experience for yourselves, they will not disappoint you! Hope my review was helpful. Enjoy and Godspeed everyone!

The museum also features a Little Kidspace for younger children and a permanent American Museum of Natural History Dinosaur Gallery. Visitors can enjoy dining at the on-site cafe and restaurant or shop at the gift shop.
There are many exhibits to explore. The dinosaur & shark exhibits were great to see, as they had life size models on display & it was very informative. The Ocean exhibit was fun because you can go into a real submarine & there is an interactive water room. One of the best things about the museum is how many hands on things there are to do. It's definitely a great place for all ages.

The visit was amazing! We visited for the Unofficial Galaxies event since we are huge Star Wars fans. The event was spectacular with a ton of really insane exhibits that were mostly fan made. We were absolutely thrilled to see all of the handmade items and pieces from the films. We recommend buying tickets in advance. Also the military discount here is only $2 but still worth it.

Pixar was worth it for us. Our kids from 8-16 had a blast getting drawn into the animation process for at least 90 minutes then spent another couple of hours exploring, playing and creating. The older kids had been to Cosi before but had a genuinely good time taking it all in again, they also thoroughly enjoyed shocking each other in the energy section. Even some of the discovery and play areas were surprisingly fun and interesting.

Coming from out of town, looking to kill some time, it did not disappoint!Cool science center. There were tons of day camp kids running wild, but that can be expected on a weekday morning in the summer. Very cool hands on stuff for kids. The natural history exhibits were cool, along with the Town of Progress exhibit. Would definitely recommend if you are in the Columbus area.

I don’t see many reviews talking about amazing the little kids area upstairs is! 1st grade and under I believe was the age range. My kiddos will spend hours just in that area alone. Dramatic play , water play, art room, wooden train /soft play, and play construction vehicles . Find on street parking for a cheaper rate than the garage.

Wow! Just a beautiful place to take the family. The exhibits are amazing. Every time we go the Dinosaur exhibit just keeps on expanding. Just truly an amazing place and I myself learn so much. Highly recommend going especially when they change out the featured exhibits.

This place is so worth it. For only $30 bucks we got over 3 hours of fun and useful information about the world we live in. We visited the planetarium twice for two films that were incredible and at no extra charge. You definitely can make a whole days worth out of this museum. I also enjoyed that it’s not only child oriented but also includes stuff for adults to do. Also don’t forget to check out the shows they do during the day. We got to see rats play basketball! My one and only complaint about this place is I wish there were more cool shirts in the gift shop for adults! (All the cool ones are for the kids)

I finally made it here after knowing about it for more than 20 years and it was totally worth it. I teared up a little when I first walked i to the dinosaur room. Seriously so amazing to see. And I was in awe of the beauty in the Poseidon room. I think that might have been my favorite. An incredible experience for sure. Absolutely worth a visit!

Visited here for the Matt Rife comedy show. Everything was amazing! Restrooms were clean and plenty of stalls. I really liked that for this show they had special cocktails for purchase. Unsure if it is a "Nationwide Arena thing" or a "Matt Rife thing".. but loved it. I've been to tons of arenas and I've never seen anything besides the basic white claw, beer, etc. All the people working the show were helpful + kind. I REALLY enjoyed connecting with the young lady at the staircase heading to the floor section. She was such a bright light and a joy to connect too. All in all --> I'd recommend this arena and will be booking future shows + concerts here.

My wife and I saw Reneé Rapp on her Bite Me tour here. The venue was easy to find and easy to enter. We used a nearby parking garage and bought our space beforehand. We had a couple minute walk to the main entrance. If you have no bags, you can walk right in. Then you go through the security scanners. We got on the escalator and went up to the main level. There were many friendly employees everywhere who answered our questions as we’ve never been to this venue. There were multiple food options available, along with alcohol at the same restaurant or in a separate place. We saw a few different merch lines and decided to get in line prior to the show. Once we were finished with that, we headed to our seats. We had 7th row seats on the floor, behind the pit areas. It was a wonderful venue! We were able to hear and see everything with no problems. There were average sized folding chairs, which we expected as we stood for all of the performance.

About the only thing that could get me to come hangout deep in enemy territory is Wu Tang. Run the Jewels and a *surprise showing of Dave Chappelle helped too. As such I was here for their final tour. It's sad this will be the 1st and last(?) time I'll ever see them all at once. The show was awesome though, they did all the songs. Not much in the way of special effects, but the sound was excellent. I had floor seats and didn't have issues seeing the stage from where I was. I didn't have any interactions with security, but let's just say they were not allowing any 'passing of bones'. Getting through security and navigating to my seat was painless. I didn't use the restrooms or concessions so can't speak on that. I was able to pregame at a bar nearby and then walk to things afterwards for food and drinks.

Arena is very beautiful safe and huge but parking is so expensive and a nightmare to find. Also the upper row of seating specifically sections in the 200's is very dangerous. Very narrow aisles to get to seats and the way the seats are angled is very steep Honestly pretty terrifying. We were in section 205 and could see the stage great but everyone was packed so close. We didn't stay for the whole show due to uncomfortable seating. Food and drink prices are what you would expect from an event of this size.
Amber — Google review
Very nice venue, but a bit underwhelming compared to other big city arenas. Huge shout out to the fact that I was able to buy a beer and a bag of peanuts for less than $10. That’s a first.

We saw Paul McCartney at Nationwide Arena and it could not have been a better experience. The venue was outstanding. Sound quality was clear, the view from our seats was great, and everything felt well organized from start to finish. Staff were friendly and helpful, which made getting in and out of the arena easy. The concert itself was perfect. The atmosphere inside the arena added to the energy of the show and made the night feel unforgettable. Nationwide Arena proved to be an excellent venue for a big performance and we would happily return for another event. During the night, I saw four people trying to weasel their way into the concert without tickets. Security handled the situation with complete professionalism. They told them politely that there were no more tickets available and didn't let them in, even when the group tried a back door and spoke to a supervisor. One of them looked really drunk and obnoxious, yet the staff still stayed calm, firm, and respectful. I thought for sure she was going to punch someone! It was a great example of how friendly and professional the entire team at this venue is. Five stars for sure.
Mike N — Google review
It’s been a while since we’ve been to the arena. One of the most remarkable things is how friendly all of the staff are, from the ticket checkers to the many courtesy staff that are throughout the facility. This is a top notch venue.

Definitely the best market in cbus! You can get food and goods from many different cultures like African, Italian, polish, French, Chinese, etc. The noodle bar is fantastic, great local honey, and a pretty expansive wine and beer store. Great vibes and pleasant people all around

I have visited north market to get some dinner when I was in Columbus. I went there twice actually. They have a variety of food options to consider including Jeni’s ice cream! I got some pizza and some ice cream during one visit and enjoyed the food! Specifically the ice cream! On my next visit, I got food from Hoyo’s and it was very tasty too! There is an eating area one floor above with lots of chairs and tables. It closes at 7 PM (when I went there in August), so I had to check the timing a little carefully. It was easily accessible from my hotel by walk.

What a fantastic place! So much good food! A lovely jewelry vendor, flowers, oils, cheese! Was our first time visiting and we will be back. Nice and close parking garage. Be sure to get your receipt for parking garage from the vendor you buy from. This is good for one hour of parking. Highly recommend North Market for a bite to eat and some local shopping.

If I could leave a higher rating i definitely would. I went there with my boyfriend for the first time and my eyes immediately lit up! The food looked absolutely amazing, the pricing was way better than I had expected. The wait time for the food wasn’t nearly as long as I had anticipated. I will definitely be going back as many times as I’m able! I recommend the Birria tacos, 3 tacos for $14! As a bonus you are able to sit and overlook the whole place!

First time here; quaint little place downtown. Great for new finds of food, coffees, oils / spices, desserts. Has a variety of cuisines, there is something for everyone. Seating indoor and outdoor, perfect for a lazy weekend or to meet with friends. Parking validation offered from one of the vendors I purchased from but didn’t accept when leaving garage. This would be the only downside - which could have been a fluke. Can’t wait to go back!

Great foodie fun stop. Shocker on this visit was the Philly Cheese Steak and Buckeye Crepe plus strawberry. The barbecue and dumplings were solid runners up. If you're bargain hunting get some fresh fries at the cheese steak shop and a slice of pizza. - otherwise prepare to spend $15-$20 Puerto item. The good is grood, but the swipes add up quickly. If you're patient you can find street parking within a block or two for cheap vs garage parking at special event prices.

Neat market and my group enjoyed the time they had here very much. Good food. Tables were a little hard to source over lunch. I will be back.

Nestled just south of the Ohio Statehouse, the stunning Ohio Theatre is a true gem of Spanish-Baroque architecture that has captivated audiences since its grand opening in 1928. Originally designed as a movie palace and variety show venue, this majestic theater features an impressive 21-foot chandelier and intricate details that transport visitors to another era.
My daughter and I had the pleasure of seeing Hamilton at the Ohio Theatre a few days ago—and it was absolutely spectacular! The theatre itself is beautifully maintained and comfortably climate-controlled, with plush seating that made the experience even more enjoyable. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. Overall, the Ohio Theatre is a fantastic venue for Broadway productions—we couldn’t have asked for a better evening!

This magnificent building is a wonderful historic venue to watch the CAPA Summer Movie Series, now in its 56th year. The Mighty Morton Organ, almost 100 years in operation here, is a joy to hear.

Beautiful theater and perfect location. The original charm has been well maintained and the sights are breathtaking. Ample paid parking nearby with reasonable rates. I had a little turn around trying to pick up tickets from will call and it was a very busy crowd so it was hard to navigate, but it was the final show of Hamilton so it was to be expected. There are quite a few employees stationed around to help direct you and every person I interacted with was kind. The show was very good. One small thing I did notice though was the distribution of sound..... many times throughout the show, the volume of the music overpowered the lyricists and given that Hamilton packs so much info into the lyrics, it was a bit frustrating not being able to hear precisely. Again, that may be attributed to the performance and not the theater or sound engineer, but worth noting nonetheless. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back!

Got to see Hamilton yesterday! It was amazing!!! The theatre is absolutely stunning. Kinda wish they did the side seats a little differently because you miss portions of the stage but overall the theatre is absolutely breathtaking.

The park offers a variety of outdoor activities such as camping, boating, fishing, and kayaking around the reservoir. Visitors can explore the forested area through trails like Mink Run trail and Briar Run trail that offer scenic views and moderate terrain.
I stayed at the campground here which was the best yet. Level paved parking & electric hook up. Cleanest bathrooms I’ve ever seen. I didn’t spend too much time in the park itself I did however complete the one looped hike & am going to comment on that. It was pretty easy, flat ground. It was beautiful because the leaves are freshly falling and giving an earthy smell. Heard lots of squirrels and birds in the woods. There is a LOT of spiders in this area - I know because I found them all over my camper and truck bed. I also happened to run into their webs with my face on the hike. It wasn’t bad, but enough to make me panic google if I was going to need medical attention if im bit. Haha, but in all seriousness it’s a simple hike in nature. Just watch those nuts the squirrels throw down- you could easily twist an ankle. Also it’s real quiet and peaceful in here. The hike can be accessed from different locations. I easily accessed from the campground.

The site we were in was swampy, probably because of a large rain recently - but it looks like it is an ongoing issue because hay had been put down over the mud, and it had been there a little while. Other than that, the site was fine. Because we got there on a Monday (5/19), we nearly had the whole place to ourselves, which was nice fir quiet and solitude. Shower / restroom facilities were clean and updated nicely.
Ethan B — Google review
We are very impressed with the campground. The campground is laid out very well, sites are large and bathroom/shower rooms are clean. The hiking trails we went on were OK. One was very muddy due to all the rain in previous days and had large fallen trees over the path in areas. The beach is very nice as well, with clean bathrooms, and a nice playground area. The dam access was closed due to construction but the park area had 2 amazing playground areas. 1 for smaller kids and 1 for bigger kids. A great area for a picnic. Brand new bathroom as well.

Beautiful grounds! Camp host was amazing. Brought ice popsicle for kids. Had a Sunday party. Then a foam party. Grateful for the hospitality. Never been to a camp ground like this. The Dam tour was neat.
