Hidden Springs Maple offers a unique experience for visitors to learn about different grades of maple syrup and taste them. Visitors can also indulge in a maple creemee, a delightful treat they may not have known existed. The staff is helpful and provides directions to other local attractions, including a quintessential New England covered bridge. Additionally, the beautiful scenery and the opportunity for a walk in the nearby marsh add to the overall experience at Hidden Springs Maple.
Such a beautiful place and the lady working was so polite and friendly! The maple creeme is so delicious, couldn’t leave without trying! We bought a variety of items to try including the Maple Pepper with garlic seasoning. Excited to try all my goodies!

Great spot for maple creemees. The place is super nice and modern inside plenty of parking outside on a dirt lot. I would say it is handicap accessible. There is a nice clean bathroom inside and areas to sit inside and outside. Everything was super clean and the prices were reasonable there were two young women working behind the counter and they were super nice. They even gave us samples of the different maple syrup so we knew which one to buy. They also have drinks in a refrigerator and also sell souvenirs besides maple syrup products I paid with a tap to pay function or otherwise known as Apple Pay. It was a really delicious ice cream. If you’re in the area, come check it out you will not be disappointed.
Abner B — Google review
We discovered this charming spot on our way home from Green Mountain Orchards, and it truly captured the essence of Vermont. Nestled amid the rolling hills of Putney, the setting is beautifully rustic with that unmistakable natural Vermont charm. Their maple creemees were outstanding — made with their own pure maple syrup. The maple–chocolate twist was exceptional; the chocolate was rich and deeply cocoa-forward, perfectly complementing the sweet, silky maple. Inside, the shop offered an array of thoughtfully curated, locally crafted gifts: honey and beeswax candles, wooden toys and cutting boards, and an impressive selection of their own maple syrup products. Every item reflected care and craftsmanship. It’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down and savor the simple joys of Vermont. We’re already looking forward to visiting again on our next trip through the area.
Crystal B — Google review
This was our first time having a maple creamy and it did not disappoint here at Hidden! So good and great price. We got two kiddies (good size) for six bucks. Beautiful scenery and you can go for a walk in the march around the corner.
Gemma S — Google review
We stop here every time we go blueberry or apple picking in the area to restock our maple syrup. Their maple creemee is one of the best, a must whenever its in season! There's a nice patio out front to enjoy your treats. The staff is always friendly and kind. If they're closed, you can still purchase syrup from a cabinet out front which is awesome. Make sure you go next time you're in Putney!
Sam N — Google review
We got a maple creamy from two locations while in Vermont. This was by far the better of the two. The prices are very reasonable, the customer service was amazing, and there were multiple additional products of interest that we bought. I would highly recommend going.
Walt S — Google review
The perfect place to have our first ever maple creemees. Hidden Springs has reasonable pricing, a wide selection of maple-themed products, and outdoor seating. Definitely recommend the diabolical donut bowl, featuring a warmed donut, maple creemee, and a drizzle of syrup.
Marissa P — Google review
Very friendly and accommodating staff, and a wonderful family owned business. I stopped in with my bus group on short notice, and they couldn't be any nicer to us. They served up creamie after creamie, and we are all greatfull for them serving us. Best creamie in VT I tasted, and the maple syrup was good too.

Mt Sunapee State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
A recreation area with a campground, resort, beach & seasonal activities, such as skiing & boating.
We go there on a regular basis. It's dog friendly and our dogs really enjoy the hike. At the top of the mountain you can get food and drinks. Highly recommend. It's a easy hike.
Sarah P — Google review
The $5 entrance fee is so much worth it. It's free after 5pm. Open 24/7 to the public. Bathrooms are closed at 5pm so plan accordingly. It seems like the trash policy is, carry-in carry-out. Very clean beach although small in size, people tend to be kind and share the space. Few grills are available to anyone. But I'll recommend bringing your own just in case. I had to learn the hard way. Overall great beach to relax and enjoy the beautiful mountain views and sunset.
AgbeJahyeh D — Google review
What a gorgeous place! Very polite and helpful staff. The lift ride was about 12-15 minutes each way and it was gorgeous. We were very lucky weather wise and got beautiful pictures. I would love to come back and explore more, maybe do the hike down, however tough to do with the 3 year old

I went yesterday. My favorite NH state park. Shallow water. Floats allowed. I love floating on a hot day. They have a nice little store for food. You can also buy or rent a float. Kayak rentals and boards rentals available. Grass area with shade trees. Grills, picnic tables are also available. Beautiful new playground. Clean bathrooms and separate changing rooms. The water has a nice, non-mucky bottom and is very clear.
Barbara W — Google review
Mount Sunapee State Park is a public recreation area located in Newbury, New Hampshire. The Park Beach, also referred to as Newbury Beach, offers a variety of amenities, including a bathhouse, a store, canoe and kayak rentals, a playground, and a restricted boat launch. A seasonal campground is conveniently situated off New Hampshire Route 103, along Upper Winding Mountain Road, with access through Mount Sunapee Resort. Visitors will find that the beach is typically well-maintained, and public restrooms are available in the bathhouse, where guests can shower and change during the swimming season. The small store offers snacks, drinks, and floatation devices for purchase. While I have not personally rented a kayak or canoe, these options are readily accessible. There is a service fee for park entry during peak hours, but entry is free after 6 o’clock. Additionally, parking is complimentary once the entrance fee is paid during peak hours and after hours. The park features two separate parking lots, along with a modest playground suited for children up to age 12. There are also numerous picnic tables and BBQ grills available for use. It is possible to make reservations for specific areas of the park, making it an excellent location for gatherings such as family reunions. Overall, the park provides a delightful option for a summer outing in the local area.
Lisa P — Google review
Sunapee is such a beautiful place - the lake is small, but pretty clean and not too deep. There are some grassy spots in addition to the beach, and a few picnic tables if you get there early enough to grab one. There's also a great little shop with snacks/drinks, ice cream treats, and inflatable tubes you can buy and have blown up!
Michael S — Google review
First time at Sunapee Mountain! I usually ski in Northern New Hampshire and Maine at the BIG ski resorts. This place did not disappoint. I had so much fun skiing here. Beautiful trails and perfect snow conditions. Fast lifts and very organized staff to get skiers up the mountain in an orderly fashion. My favorite trail was Ridge. Beautiful scenery here and it overlooks Lake Sunappe too. Good food and drinks here. Loved the Irish coffee! Im coming back here again soon!!

One of our favorite lakes. The water is clean. The bathrooms are handy. The view is gorgeous.

I absolutely adore gardens and grand houses, and let me tell you, this place has it all! Nestled in the serene backwoods of Newbury, NH, The Fells is a fantastic spot for a leisurely stroll. The gardens are simply stunning, featuring a delightful spring water fountain and beautifully spread out across the property. The house itself is a breathtaking place to explore. I could easily imagine myself living here! It's so peaceful and just downright lovely.
Lisa P — Google review
The grounds here are absolutely gorgeous and so tranquil. The landscaping is just simply magnificent. The history of the estate is interesting, but the true gem really is the gardens and landscaping.
Andrew S — Google review
It cost 10 dollars and I spent around 1.5 hours in total there. It's easier to walk counter clockwise to lakeside. The trials could be marked more clearly but it's fairly easy and short hike. The 100 years old building is well maintained although it's a bit muggy inside the building.
L. C — Google review
I would not recommend if you're going to learn John Hay's history. His papers and books are not there, and he only spent little time there in his life. Other than a few signs about his life and a visit from Teddy Roosevelt, I did not find a rich biography of his life and details of his visitors like I hoped. But the home and gardens are beautiful, and it is still important to see and preserve old homes and items like rotary phones. I also did not like that the teenager working admissions said "I dunno" when we asked if we could park closer so we had to walk small children half a mile through overgrown woods to get to the house.
Miranda S — Google review
Our visit to the John Hay Estate at The Fells was nothing short of magical. As a parent of three energetic kids, I’m always looking for places that blend history, nature, and room to explore — and The Fells checked every single box. From the moment we arrived, the peaceful beauty of the estate took our breath away. The walk down to the main house was beautiful. A nice little dirt road surrounded by nature. When we eventually got to the grounds, my kids loved to run around in the grass, and they were ecstatic when they found the fairy garden. When inside the historic home, you can see the preserved rooms, and read all about the history of John Hay. But, what really stood out to me was how welcoming and well-maintained everything was. The workers were friendly, as the teenager at the kiosk gave my wife and I, along with my kids, a warm welcome, and a brief history about the estate. The woman in the main house gave me a very nice tour. Overall, everyone was knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the estate. Even though we are from New York, we’ll absolutely be coming back. Whether its for a family hike, a peaceful garden stroll, or one of their seasonal events. The John Hay Estate at The Fells is a true hidden treasure of New Hampshire. I Highly recommend!
John S — Google review
Visited last Sunday on a chilly windy day in June - perfect weather to keep the bugs away! It was warm enough when the sun came out. Anyway, the estate is really beautiful. I did the John Hay Ecology Trail from the parking lot near the road and also the Lake Trail. As an experienced hiker they were no problem for me, but be warned that the trail can be rough in places, muddy (understandable after all the rain we've had this spring!), and a little steep. It's not an easy walk in the woods. I walked back to my car via the Wildflower Trail and that was a much smoother, less muddy trail, good for little kids (I should think). You can also walk down the dirt road if you want a little walk and a smooth footbed. And of course there is parking near the house if you just want to see that and can't/don't want to walk very far. Loved seeing the loon nesting on the lake! The house is really neat. It's great that you can just wander through it and don't have to wait for a tour if you don't have time (I would have liked to take a tour but it didn't work with my schedule). And the grounds around the house are gorgeous. Highly recommend checking out the "old garden" and its really cool stone walls. Highly recommend visiting this property! It was the perfect option for me, as I had a performance nearby later in the day and wanted a short hike and I always love wandering through old houses and beautiful gardens. I was a little too early for the peonies and irises but they were all about to pop - I'd say visit sometime in the next week or two to see the peonies and irises. And the azaleas smelled just amazing.

Beautiful historic garden estate located on Lake Sunapee. Many thoughtful garden photo ops and hiking trails. The historic home is a quick visit not to be missed.

We went mainly to see the gardens and walk the trails. Beautiful estate with cool outdoor sculptures. Perennial garden, rock garden, old secret garden. All great. Gorgeous veranda. Super visit. Will go back in spring!

Yankee Candle Village

Mentioned on

Candle store
Yankee Candle is a renowned retail chain that specializes in offering an extensive range of scented candles and related accessories. The flagship store, located in Deerfield, MA, is a must-see attraction and offers a unique experience beyond just shopping. It hosts family-friendly events and activities, featuring a toy store and a beautifully decorated Christmas village that kids will love.
It's kitsch-y, it's crowded, the candles are expensive, but it's fun. Everyone is always happy when we visit here on occasion. The themed rooms are fun to explore, and the displays of the various villages are exquisite, and the snack area is quite good. Definitely worth a visit!
Ja K — Google review
Wow! This was my first time visiting here and it won't be the last! There are candles, food, toys, games, candy, a Christmas area, and more! All of the staff were friendly and helpful! It's a fun place that I could spend hours in!!
Jeanette D — Google review
Very large store with ice cream and food along with many themes in different sections. It’s quite interesting to go through. There are also some interesting animatronics shows.
Joel T — Google review
Way too cool! The store has a beautiful Christmas display with ornaments and scenic things for purchase. Of course, plenty of candles to be had in various sizes as well. There is a restaurant outback, and the food was pretty good. The Landscaping around the facilities was beyond words. Next-door was an outlet that is worth stopping into as well. Definitely recommend stopping in here.
S J — Google review
Candle lovers paradise . You can create your own scents.make your own candles plus find all your favorites and more. There is so much to see and do. Its not like their store location in the malls this is like their own mall! Also thru have lovely flower gardens outside too!
Sonya O — Google review
It’s a tourist trap but a lot of fun if you enjoy shopping or looking at Christmas villages. They have “create your own” candles of various kinds and price ranges. We like going whenever we are in town.
K C — Google review
Absolutely worth a stop off the highway, this village carries an amazing variety of gifts and items. It's not just candles, it's everything you can imagine for the house, pantry, and an entire children's shop as well.
Heather T — Google review
A lot of fun - I’ve been to both this one and the one in Williamsburg, Virginia. My only complaint about this one is the middle area that features coffee, ice cream, and food, as well as check out areas. It does not have enough seating. My husband and I nearly had to in the floor today to eat our food. They have very small tables and not enough chairs. Also understaffed during peak season so getting food and navigating the area because of the resulting long lines is a pain. Checkout lines also take forever to get through on weekends and during peak season (October-December). The one in Williamsburg featured a lot more local artists, and I would love to see that reflected or acknowledged here. Positive things, I like the toy area a lot, the set up is nice. Love the Bavarian village (but would love if we could stop spreading the German pickle myth) and the snow room. I particularly like being able to buy German imported goods, like the Sauerbraten spice packets, which is what we make for Christmas every year.

The Botanic Garden of Smith College is a picturesque on-campus oasis featuring native New England trees, shrubs, and herbs. The highlight of the garden is the Lyman Plant House & Conservatory, a 19th-century glass-enclosed structure that shelters over 3,000 plant species from around the world.
What an absolutely amazing place. I cannot recommend this botanical garden enough! There were plants everywhere! Several spaces you could go into to see them. So many unique and wonderful plants to look at. We went around twice and saw things we missed the 1st time. We were amazed at the plants under the plants! Some I've personally killed that are just growing randomly under a table living their best life! Absolutely breathtaking! A million stars. Would highly recommend!

How have I not been here before? Beautiful, educational, and unexpectedly fun. This garden has it all and dun QR coded facts hidden around. This was free and offered fun for adults and kids. Nestled in beautiful Northampton, MA, this is a hidden gem in Western, MA.

Beautiful place! Nothing else to say. Pictures speak by themselves. If you need a green boost now that fall is coming, this is the place to go.
Claribell B — Google review
Decided to take a weekend road trip from Rhode Island to Western Massachusetts to check out the blooming tulips exhibit. It was a cold, overcast day, but once you're inside, it's climate-controlled and beautiful. We had to wait about 20 minutes to get in because the event was so popular that the line was queued up for quite a while. However, staff made it very easy to move through, and the line kept moving. Parking is kind of hard to find. We lucked out with street parking, but allow time to find some parking. We would love to come here again when the weather warms up and the outdoor gardens are in bloom.
Bryce L — Google review
Amazing. No other words can describe the situation here, even the greenhouse itself is a marvel, not to mention the thousands upon thousands of plants contained within. The variety of trees, shrubs, grasses, and flowers was outstanding. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. I parked in a (free!) visitor's parking garage on the opposite side of campus and walked because there is only street parking nearby, which was packed.
J — Google review
Magnificent gem, so glad this is open to the public. It is JAM PACKED with all sorts of interesting plants, from all over the world, including many orchids! Completely free, just walk in!

Emily Dickinson Museum

History museum
Museums
The Emily Dickinson Museum, located on Main St. in Amherst, is the birthplace and lifelong home of the renowned poet Emily Dickinson. The museum offers exhibits, guided tours, and a bookshop for visitors to explore. The Federal-style Dickinson Homestead provides a unique insight into the life of this extraordinary poet who rarely left her home and gained recognition only after her death when her cache of poems was discovered.
The Emily Dickinson Museum is a wonderful place to visit in Amherst, Massachusetts. The museum offers both guided tours and self-guided tours. On the self-guided tours after visiting the first room, where basic information about Emily Dickinson is provided, you can go from room to room as you please. There are guides in each room who provide information about the room and how it was used by the Dickinson family. The guides are knowledgeable about all aspects of Emily's life from where she lived in the house, her relationship with her family, her life, and her poetry. The guided tours last about an hour and on them you can get more information than on the self-guided tours. The house has both historical furniture and restored from the Dickinson family. The decorating inside of the house is unique and has been restored from photographs. In a few rooms in the house there are interactive displays about Emily's poetry. There is a nice gift shop inside the house as well. It is best to park on the streets near the house. There are a few handicapped parking spaces near the house as well. It is definitely best to purchase tickets online ahead of time. Tickets are also sold at the museum. If you have an interest in Emily Dickinson or just like seeing historic houses this museum is for you.
Ryan M — Google review
My experience here was truly incredible. I honestly don’t even know where to begin with this review. I paid to spend an hour in Emily Dickinson’s room, which was very peaceful. The gardens were beautiful, the staff were very sweet, and the tour was thorough and informative. If I lived near here, I would visit weekly. I love how they are constantly working on creating a more historical visit with renovations and updated facts. The Evergreens were closed when we went, but that just gives me another reason to come back and visit.
Emma P — Google review
Our guide was very well informed but did not leave time for questions, which was somewhat irritating. The dress is white because Emily gardened but could bleach to clean, which is why she wore white. The garden was wonderful and authentic. I would return.
Marcia M — Google review
Well worth the visit to Amherst. Anyone who’s interested in museum curation and historic preservation should definitely pay a visit. The brother’s house’s original interior is being preserved while Emily’s house has been renovated to look how it did when she lived there. It’s really interesting. Both houses were well staffed by very knowledgeable tour guides who were excited to answer questions about Emily’s and her families’ lives. The cemetery where Emily and some family members are buried is just a short walk away. Overall, I was very impressed by my visit.
Amanda M — Google review
The Emily Dickinson Museum in Amherst, Massachusetts preserves both the Homestead—where the poet lived and wrote—and The Evergreens, her brother Austin’s neighboring home. Together they form one of New England’s most authentic literary sites. Visitors can take guided tours that explore Dickinson’s writing room, family history, and the restored 19th-century gardens that inspired much of her poetry. The museum also hosts readings, workshops, and seasonal events that connect her work to modern audiences. Located near the Amherst College campus, the museum is open seasonally with timed tickets recommended in advance. It’s a quiet, beautifully maintained place to understand Emily Dickinson not as a myth but as a real woman shaped by the rhythms of her home and garden.
RoadTrip N — Google review
My daughter and I went to the museum today for a tour of both the house and Evergreen. Our first tour guide ( thacker?- please correct me if I got the name wrong) was exceptionally good, knowledgeable and passionate about Emily and her legacy. Stopping by this tour took us 2 hours off of path, but was beyond worth it for those who love Dickinson.
Dor R — Google review
I really enjoyed my time here, I learned a lot about Emily Dickinson and her family. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes her work or even to those who aren't familiar with it yet, as it might spark their interest.
PK H — Google review
Had a wonderful afternoon touring the homestead of Emily Dickinson and the nearby home of her brother, Austin. The tour guides were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous to tour participants. Guests are able to tour the grounds of the estafe and take in the scenery of Amherst. There is also a nice gift shop staffed by a very friendly tour coordinator. And there were clean bathrooms! An enlightening and relaxing October afternoon.

Franklin Pierce Homestead State Historic Site

8/19/24—We didn’t plan at all to stop at the Franklin Pierce Homestead, but my stepson had an unplanned breakfast party for his friend, so we decided to linger a bit longer before picking him up. I checked Google Maps, and this place popped up. My husband, always ready for an adventure, obliged and took me there—with the dog, of course, because the dog goes everywhere with us in New Hampshire. On the way, I asked my husband, "You don’t know who Franklin Pierce is?" He said, "No." To be honest, I didn’t know either, but he never asked for details, so I let it slide. When we arrived, I realized this place is really interesting! As we walked in, we were greeted by a lady—Sarah, I think was her name. She gave us the dos and don’ts: no pictures inside and no drinks allowed. This place has so much history! Franklin Pierce, the 14th President of the United States, had an interesting life and house. One cool fact: he was the first president to have a Christmas tree in the White House. Another surprising fact is that he or his father welcomed the first free Black man in New Hampshire to eat at their dinner table, treating him like family. They even did the same with their help. The house itself was fascinating. They had a well right next to the house with sliding wooden windows to get water—like their own drive-thru to avoid the cold! The party hall made me imagine all the people they entertained over the years—they were definitely party people. As we explored the rooms and halls, I couldn’t help but think about how these historic places allow us to live in the past, even if just for a moment. It’s like stepping into a time machine, where the walls whisper stories of days gone by. You can almost feel the presence of those who lived here, their joys, their struggles, and their everyday lives, preserved in the remnants they left behind. It’s a powerful reminder that while times change, the essence of human experience remains the same. I really love these historic places; you learn so much. There were only a few of us on the tour, and we had to watch a video first, which I could have skipped, but we were there too early and had time to kill. Even the dog seemed interested in checking out the house! I would love to travel back in time just to get a peek at their lives. All we have now are these remnants of things that survived to remind us of their past.

I LOVE New England history bc I was raised here. This was a very affordable and informative tour!! The 2 employees a lady w glasses and another who had just moved to the area, VERY friendly and knowledgeable. The ONLY reason I left off a star is because we couldn't take photos. That is just policy for this historic site, for preservation purpose. I was the only one on the tour and they were more than willing to accommodate just me. Thank you very much ladies for a very personalized experience!!
Kristen T — Google review
Great place for history buffs and tourists alike. Very affordable @ $5 per out of state adult. Tour guide was very informative and enthusiastic— really brought the story of President Pierce’s early years to life. Only negative— you are not allowed to take pictures beyond the first few feet of the visitor center. Tours run every hour— I recommend showing up a half hour early so you can watch an orientation film.

Very interesting place, our tour guide was amazing and I learned so much about the only President from NH! Some of what I learned even dispelled some conceptions I had about Franklin Pierce! Beautifully preserved home, small gift shop in barn.

Great experience and excellent tour guides! The visit was a great way to learn about the 14th President, his parents, and daily life in the early 19th century. The house has been beautifully restored and the furnishings and artifacts in each room tell a unique part of the story. Really appreciated the tour guides knowledge of the house and history surrounding Franklin Pierce. In spite of the hot day, our guide allowed each of our group to enjoy the parts of each room which was great! If you have time, Franklin's father a former governor of New Hampshire and mother are buried just up the road and the cemetery is very old.

My husband and I have a bucket list to visit all the president's homes. This home was one of our favorite tours. We had an exceptionally knowledgeable tour guide who gave us an almost one and a half hour tour. We took our 9 and 6-year-old and they both really enjoyed all the information as well. The house is well maintained and there is a lot of interesting history here. They have a small gift shop. We bought our tickets in advance online which was an easy process.

I ate breakfast across the street and they recommended I go there. I would have given this a higher rateing but they don't open untill 10 A. M. The grounds and house are well kept as being a state park. I would like to go there when they are open.

Hardwick Winery

Hardwick has a broad selection of unique wines. Want a wine slushie? You can have that! Want a pitcher of sangria? Yup, you can have that as well. Want to take a bottle home? Of course you can! Enjoy your wine upstairs, downstairs, on the covered veranda, or out on the lawn. Want a quiet spot? Walk on the grounds, sit in the gazebo or pavilion, or set up a lawn chair anywhere. Hardwick often presents live music and hosts seasonal events throughout the year. Finally, you can bring snacks to enjoy with your wine. Enjoy!

Such a lovely place to go. I tried five wines for $10 and you get a cute signature glass to take with you. They have seasonal flavors I got a watermelon and chocolate raspberry to take home. The staff is very kind and knowledgeable. Live music, beautiful views, and ample seating with Adirondack chairs!!! Would absolutely come back and look forward to doing so 🍷❤️

What a winery! The flavors and varietals were incredible! We visited here during a weekday and were serviced immediately. The woman working the counter was friendly and helpful and provided great hospitality. I sampled a pumpkin, raspberry and some apple varietals and couldn’t have been happier with my choices. The pumpkin varietal was incredible and I can’t wait to have it come fall time! We would definitely visit again, especially on the weekends!

Happened upon the great little winery while out on the bikes for a ride. Enjoyed a wonderful lunch along with a flight of wines to sample. Generous pours with the flights here allowing you to have a more than a sip to sample. We came home with a couple bottles and were very impressed by the staff. This will definitely be on our list for another stop when we have time to sit outside and listen to some music as well.

Beautiful property! We talked to the mother of the owner and learned the white building was almost 300 years old! The apple pie wine was great!

Very cool winery, the wine was good, nice venue with food trucks, live music and vendors. My favorite wine is the Dana Black Cherry red. The wine smoothie was also delicious. Highly recommended!

Hidden gem. We were there for the Jeep Crawl which was a really cool event with really awesome people.

Large tasting room with two floors and outside seating. Great selection of wines, and even wine slushies. Check out the Wine Flight for a ample sampling of four styles, or opt for the Wine Tasting for some quicker samples at the bar. Sandwiches, cheese plate and pizza available to accompany your wine.

We had my son’s birthday party here and it was the best party they’ve ever had! Despite the cold and rain the kids had a blast, and the referees that led the party were amazing! The courses were so neat! We will absolutely be back!

Just went here today! First time out in a few years. The staff was amazing there, super friendly as well! One of the staff referees even let me use his VERY NICE MARKER all day today and I had the best time! Will be going every weekend from now on. Thank you everyone

We had our children’s birthday celebration here. It was the kids’ first time and they haven’t been able to stop talking about it. Everyone there was very courteous and kind; they took care of everything! We also got food and drinks there, as well. The facility was clean. Their children’s portion was generous and fairly priced. Honestly it was cheaper than bringing in your own food. We’ve already made plans to come back.

We had my 14-year-old's birthday party here. He and his friends had a great time, and the guides/referees who oversaw the party did an excellent job. It was a very busy day at the venue with a huge paintball tournmant going on, but the guides worked around that skillfully, and we had no problems at all. Highly recommended!

We had my son’s 12th birthday party here and he and his friends were raving about it! They all left saying they planned to have theirs there as well. Our ref Brando was awesome and seemed to be having as much fun as the kids, which absolutely kept them engaged and entertained! Between laser tag and jelly ball, they were loving every second!

Wachusett Mountain Ski Area

Ski resort
Nature & Parks
Alpine ski resort with 27 diverse trails & 8 lifts, plus cafe & gastropub options at the base.
Wachusett Mountain is an amazing spot for skiing and snowboarding, especially if you’re looking for a well-maintained, convenient ski area close to Boston. The slopes are great for all levels, from beginners to experienced skiers, and the snowmaking is top-notch, ensuring solid conditions even when Mother Nature isn’t cooperating. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the lift lines move quickly, even on busy weekends. The lodge is clean and offers good food options, plus the rental process is smooth and hassle-free. Whether you’re here for a quick night session or a full day on the mountain, Wachusett never disappoints. Highly recommend for a fun, accessible ski experience!
Yusuf M — Google review
my experience was good. I went there for skiing. A little busy and messy. I think they need more lockers . Generally speaking, the organization could be improved during the weekends. I would visit it again👍 transportation is very convenient. Easy to access by public transportation from Boston, and the restaurant is good. We ordered black diamond hamburgers and the chicken sandwich 👍👍 In general, service was good too.

Pics are a mix from last Friday's perfect full coverage, and yesterday's (this Friday) half coverage. Early conditions are surprisingly good - very little ice and some great man-made snow after 2 days of rain. Staff is friendly and go out of their way to help you. I got a season pass for the 1st time in my life, at 40+ yrs old, and I can already tell it's worth it!!! Demo shop at Mountainside Ski shop is excellent too... i just got a great deal on last year's Gnu model & it rides great & I never would have tried it, except Dominic made a great recommendation, and Andy & Becky made the whole experience fun. Truly IS mountains of skiing minutes away. Ok... maybe an hr away? And sooo much easier than 3-6 hrs away for the BIGGEST mountains in VT/NH/CA... if you like your fun outdoor activities to be welcoming and special every time....come here.

It’s was amazing, once in a lifetime experience for me. It was my first time skiing and I took the beginners lesson, it was worth it, our instructor Jim explained everything in detail and was very patient with a rookie like me. I fell many times but still got up and keep trying by the end of the lesson, I was decent in turning and moving in balance. There’s a lodge, food court and huge parking.

Great annual ski swap / Octoberfest. Wish there were more food trucks and beverage choices. Still, the choices were not bad at all. Good turnout. Why not? 70 degrees weather was just perfect. I am sure the upcoming ski season will be busy.
Hemant A — Google review
Love this mountain and the teams that bring fun for everyone- no matter what season! Had a blast at the apple fest and the colors were on display as well as so many vendors to bring it to life. The ride to the top was the afternoon highlight.
Eddie M — Google review
After many years away, I finally went to Wachusett Ski area on Monday to check out the conditions and their trails. I’ve only heard about the overcrowding and bare trails from high traffic in recent years, so skipped trying to ski it last season. I’m skiing with a beginner-level skier, so finding places with enough terrain for them to build skills and confidence is essential. This place really only has 2 beginner trails and they’re on the same face of the slope, so the variety of terrain and steepness are similar. Luckily Ralph’s Run and Look Mom were manageable, but challenging, for the beginner skier. I checked out Conifer and decided it had too many steep spots for the beginner. Other blues that looked like they might be easier were closed when we were there. Monday is a great day to ski for the first 2 sessions because we didn’t have to wait in any lines, had no issues finding space for our gear, and it was a short walk from the parking area (row 9) to the main lodge. However, around 3:45pm things get chaotic with all the school programs coming in. It’s a totally different scene at that hour compared to the previous 6 hours, so plan accordingly. Great to see all the kids out and crushing it, but the crowds are practically suffocating. Snow quality is okay - packed, granular, and thin base. There are some icy patches, but overall, it’s what’s to be expected with weather conditions and elevation. Snow quality was significantly better at Pat’s Peak (NH). They did some late afternoon grooming of Conifer and 10th Mountain, and I got to run them while they were fresh - made a huge difference and was so enjoyable! Only 4 stars because I find the daily ticket price to be very expensive ($94) the quality of the cafeteria food to be super basic, the lodge interior to be rundown, and the restrooms in need of better lighting and cleanliness. We’re looking for ski places within a day trip from where we live, so choices are very limited.

I visited Mt. Wachusett last year during the early season when snow conditions were off to a weak start, but I was blown away by how quickly things turned around for an amazing second run the following weekend. This year, the 2024 season has already started on an even stronger note. Opening weekend was incredible—better than last year by far! The team here clearly works hard to maintain excellent conditions, and it shows. The runs were smooth, the atmosphere was great, and it’s the perfect place to kick off another exciting season. I’m thrilled to see what the rest of the season brings and can’t wait to keep riding at Wachusett. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic local mountain experience! I changed this review from a 4 to 5 star, the waffles slapped! 🔥

We had a party of 8 for a 2hr trail ride. This was a first time experience for 6 out of 8 of us. I was terrified at first. The staff were amazing! Explained everything perfectly! Sure made it easy for a first timer. It also poured on us for the entire 2hrs! Ponchos were available for purchase, which is cool! I absolutely can’t think of a single bad thing to say! Before we were off the horses we were already talking about coming back!!! Highly recommend this place!!!

My fiancé booked a private two-hour trail ride and a picnic after for my birthday! Not only was the itself beautiful and fun (I rode Target) but our guide, Jen, was also great. I had very high expectations going into my visit and they were all exceeded. Cornerstone Ranch is a magical place. The property is gorgeous and wooded, the owner and staff are so knowledgeable, professional, gracious, and clearly love what they do. Their horses are beautiful, and lovingly and meticulously cared for. My boyfriend bought me a riding lesson and trail ride for my birthday gift and it was one of, if not, the best gifts I’ve ever received. I’ve dreamed of taking riding lessons my whole life, and at age 40 am beyond thrilled to have found such special place as Cornerstone Ranch to live the dream.

I’ve done quite a few trail rides in my adult life and this experience was absolutely wonderful. The ranch was so clean, as were the horses! I was expecting dirty hands after giving my horse a big scratch and nope, clean as a whistle. Also my horse had beautiful manners, made this middle aged woman quite comfortable. Our guide was so clear and concise with instructions, she was also friendly and informative and patient with my questions. Thank you Gigi! Can’t wait to come back!

I recently went on a trail ride at Cornerstone Ranch with my daughter and a few friends and it was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel comfortable and excited the moment we arrived. The horses were well cared for and matched perfectly to each rider's skill level. It was such a special outing, especially getting to share it with my daughter and friends. We left with big smiles and memories. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing and fun outdoor adventure!

My husband and I went to lunch on a Saturday to celebrate our 4 year anniversary. LaBelle came highly recommended by some friends who live in the area. Immediately we were impressed by the ambiance. Our server was attentive and friendly. My husband had the apple cider mule and I had a glass of the Dry Pear. Both were delicious & our food was amazing. We had the shaved steak on a ciabatta with salads and the winemakers breadbasket with the wine butter. The owner, Caesar, offered us a tour of the winery as we were finishing up. We took up him up on the offer and are so glad we did. The venue is beautiful & it is very obvious, from the way he speaks about each detail, just how much he & his wife have put into the place. Very pleased with our experience & we will definitely be back. Caesar & staff, thank you for a wonderful lunch.

Terrible customer service. I don't know why, but they spoke to me condescendingly and refused to refund money for a product that I didn't use and had all the appropriate tags that indicated that the product was new and unused... I don't know the reasons for this attitude, but in any case, I don't recommend this store.
Irina — Google review
I had the worst experience here. The girl working on Saturday, July 13th, was incredibly rude to my mother and me. I take my time with big purchases like bags because I know I'll use them often. I was deciding between a bag in the store and a Coach bag I saw recently. She asked if we needed help three times in 30 minutes, and each time I politely declined. The last time, she asked if we needed help with prices, and I politely declined again and smiled, but she gave a rude look afterward. I always try to assume the best, so I left with my mom and asked if it was just me or if she really was being rude. My mom noticed her tone and expression, and we were both very offended. I left quickly because she made me uncomfortable, but I knew I wanted to buy a small coin purse. I was nervous to return because I hate confrontation and felt so unwelcome. When we came back, she sarcastically said, "Welcome back." The man who rang us up was kind and non-judgmental. I don't know what her problem was. I don't know if she thought we were stealing or couldn't afford anything, but she was very rude. I mean it's the Marc Jacob OUTLETS! Why are we behaving like this? Immediately after I drove to a coach store and bought the other bag I had been looking for. Maybe I am sensitive, but she ruined my day and I hope she stops being such a mean girl (atleast when she's at work). BOO! 🍅 🍅 🍅

The Worcester Art Museum is a renowned institution housing an extensive and diverse collection of over 35,000 artworks spanning more than 5,000 years. From ancient to contemporary pieces, the museum showcases European masterworks alongside global cultural artifacts. Visitors can admire paintings by renowned artists such as Monet and Goya, explore the silver collection by Paul Revere, marvel at floor mosaics from Antioch, and immerse themselves in cutting-edge contemporary art.
World class museum featuring a Monet masterpiece from his time in London. Ancient Rome fan? Fascinated by gladiatorial games? Well you in for a real treat, with an actual real Gladiator helmet from Ancient Roman times. Also some actual Ancient Rome busts of emperors Marcus Aurelius, Caligula, and Nero dating back to 1st Century AD. Also a Greek helmet dating back from 450 BC. Ancient Egyptian art dating back to 1980 BC. When you walk you the showstopper of the place is a big beautiful floor mosaic dating back to 500AD. Terrific tapestries, Rodin and Houdon sculpture. John Singer Sargent pieces. Also pretty cool Medieval stained glass from 1200s, and knight chain mail. Awesome tapestries and Japanese art exhibit when I went.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Egyptian and Sumerian artifacts at this museum. Loved the art and of course the Egyptian and Sumerian stuff. I thought they inherited the medieval armor but I only saw 1. Kids enjoyed the scavenger hunt and my 2 youngest did enjoy the story telling. Nice little thing to do around Worcester.

I've been visiting the Worcester Art Museum (WAM) on an occasional basis for decades, despite not living in the vicinity. Particularly given the size of the surrounding community, It continues to display an impressively varied "encyclopedic" collection, although as the buildings that house it have developed over the years, parts of the collection, notably including American and contemporary art, are less than favorably displayed and the circuitous traffic pattern can be difficult to navigate--and yes, this was the case well before the current massive construction reportedly intended to integrate their receipt of the late lamented Higgins Armory Museum collection. The European painting galleries manage to present a chronological review of painting traditions from early Italian gold leaf panels to works from the early twentieth century. There are several works by better known artists, ranging from a fine panel by Piero di Cosimo to canvases by J.S. Sargent, and many important artistic traditions are well represented, even if not necessarily by their foremost practitioners, although some of the works are hung so high, with such indifferent lighting, that they can be difficult to see. There is a fine medieval French chapter house permanently reinstalled off the Renaissance courtyard whose own floor is particularly noteworthy for its fine Roman mosaic, a relic from an earlier time when the Museum engaged in archeological endeavors. WAM also offers multiple rooms devoted to arts of Asian cultures. There is a regular program of special exhibitions, which in recent years have ranged from an extensive loan display of Rembrandt etchings to an installation from their own storerooms of several fine European tapestries, although the later would have benefited from more detailed and thoughtful labels. The WAM also has a long history of art educational endeavors to which an entire building is dedicated. For a time some years ago they had a very pleasant restaurant with table service, sadly long gone. Free parking is located across the street, but although technically accessible, the museum can be a challenge for those with mobility issues.

The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts is an opulent Renaissance-style space that has a rich history dating back to 1904 when it was originally known as the Franklin Square Theatre. Over the years, it has undergone several ownership changes and renovations, including the addition of a stunning two-story lobby with marbleized columns, mirrored walls, and a grand staircase.
Had an epic experience at The Hanover Theatre & Conservatory to see “To Kill A Mockingbird”. The inside is so beautiful and elegant. Great view of the stage. Clean restrooms. Outside there were vibrant light installations.

Went here last night with my Mom 11/08/24. To see Ain't too proud to beg The Life and Times of The Temptations. The performance was rather good . The performers were a " little chucky." But still really talented and still a pretty good show. The biggest issue with THT is that there's so many volunteers ( who don't seem like they care and do nothing) and less engaged with the people. A lot of Elderly volunteers, and they didn't know much and barely interacted with people into auditorium. The THT , needs a like bit of ( TLC ) , still quite pretty and differently needs some explanation like there foyer and the lobby they need to do something or you get a drink / souvenir or nothing at all. I didn't even have time to use the men's bathrooms the line ls were so long, and so we're the lines for snacks / beverages . They didn't even take our money our at the stand. We were going to order a cookie, and they just passed by us. Overall still a great performance. The performers needed more attire , the where they were wearing alot of the same clothes . They needed more of a variety of clothing and such like props etc.

I attended a performance of Shen Yun and I had a good time in spite of the cramped seats in the balcony. My friend, Author Itis and his brother Bruce complained and let me know it! The staff were professional and security did not give people a hard time. There is a metal detector at the entrances. I would empty your pockets before entering and have your ticket 🎫 ready before the metal detector. The lines to get in were long but they did move smoothly. I would try to arrive early but I had issues with parking 🅿️ so I was seated as the performance started. I liked the inside with its lights, chandeliers and ornate ceiling. The sound was good and my view 🙈 from the balcony was enjoyable. The men's bathroom was in good condition. The Shen Yun performance and choreography is a mixture of ballet 🩰, folk, tumbling and gymnastics. Though the man ♂️ and woman ♀️ who narrated the show said that the styles of dance originated from Chinese folk dance. Bright 🌞 vibrant colors from the costumes and the digital screen catch 🪝 the eyes 👀! The orchestra is a combination of both Chinese and European instruments. There are social and political messages that might be controversial. I ordered my ticket 🎟️ online and the price of the service fee was expensive! Be aware before ordering. I paid $85 so it really drove up the price. Was Shen Yun worth the $300+ ticket? No. But I did enjoy the show and so did the audience. I hope the performers and musicians receive a good wage from their excellent 👌 performances! I did speak 🗣️ to Chris and I had a pleasant conversation about my purchase. I purchased through Shen Yun and Chris was concerned that I was overcharged by a secondary seller. That is good customer service! If there is a performance I really want to see, I would consider visiting this theater 🎭 again!

Great theater, outstanding staff, really overpriced beverages and extremely narrow small sits. Excellent acoustics and great view from anywhere in the orchestra sitting area. I came to Brad Williams comedy show and was positively surprised by 2 opening comedians as well as a meet and greet at the end where we could take pictures with all the comedians and get autographs, buy merchandise and that was simply amazing!

Great venue. Saw a concert and it was an amazing experience. Great acoustics and theater is nice. Lots of food and beverage choices within walking distance to grab a bite and drink before the show.

Don't let the outside construction ward you off from coming inside to see a show. The line moved seamlessly. Well staffed. Bathrooms were clearly marked and very clean. I sat in gold circle orchestra. The seats were comfortable and there was plenty of leg room. The sound system was great. Lighting was amazing. I liked that there were no stairs, it was sloped and carpeted. The drink prices were reasonable. Bottled water was 3.00. Easy in and out of the theater. I will attend again now that I know how amazing this page is.

What a great visit we had while attending a performance of “A Christmas Carol”. I was so impressed with all manner of the production, from the sets and scenery, the music, lighting to the acting. I am looking forward to viewing more productions at The Hanover Theater very much and can highly recommend doing so.

Hiking area
Fruitlands Museum is a historical museum located in a farmland setting dating back to around 1914. The museum houses an array of Native American artifacts, Shaker documents, paintings and more. The rolling views of the area are stunning with Wachusett mountain visible in the distance. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful greens that stretch for miles and miles surrounding the museum. Guests can dine and dance under a tent while enjoying bright warm light with unobstructed views of the surrounding scenery.
Went here for a wedding. Really beautiful area, massive fan. Location is great staff is awesome. Reception area was really nice too, well laid out. Food was fantastic, really really good. Especially for wedding food. Didn't go to the museum itself or anything, so I unfortunately can't offer any feedback there They had PLENTY of parking. Huge grass field with cones. Huge bonus. Overall this was a fantastic wedding venue. However! The US flag was not lit at night, constituting a section 6a violation of the US flag code. (mostly kidding, but light your flags at night everybody)

I had the opportunity to DJ the Bromfield Junior and Senior Prom at the Fruitlands Museum—what an incredible venue! It was my first time there, and I was absolutely floored by the scenic views and natural beauty all around. I was set up in the tent, which was spacious, well-maintained, and perfect for a celebration. The staff were friendly and helpful before, during, and after the event. I truly hope to return and be part of another event at this amazing spot!

My daughter and I really enjoyed our visit to Fruitlands Museum! We learned so much about the history of the area, from the Native American and Shaker communities to the fascinating story of the Alcott family and their transcendentalist experiment. The exhibits were engaging, educational, and thoughtfully presented. We’ll definitely be returning again. The museum was a special place to explore together.

Visited The Fruitlands on Saturday, October 11, 2025 for the 1 pm Raptor Demonstration. Henry Walters from NH Raptor Rehab showed us a Red- Tailed Hawk, a Gyrfalcon and a Harris Hawk. He was very knowledgeable and answered a lot of questions. He left other participants wear the heavy glove and the Harris Hawk flew onto it. It was fascinating! We also went to the Cafe and had awesome squash soap and a Little Leaf salad. Very enjoyable.

This is a very nice place to visit. The museums were pretty cool especially the native American exhibit. It would be nice to see more local native American stuff though. I liked the statue too but the scenery walking the trails were the best part and that's part is free. I highly recommend visiting here.

I wish it had a different name and minus the rainbow flag. This is Christian history. Despite some eventual disception believing the leader was Christ, Shaker history is full of Holy Spirit-led shaking and dance. This is a great example of how God does not take back gifts He gave despite no repentance. It was also disappointing there is no video to watch them shake and dance. Check them out on youtube and then I guess you have to go to a nearby church like Crossroads to see and experience manifestations of the Holy Spirit.

We came to visit over Spring break in April. The weather was damp and cool. We had a very nice time exploring the exhibits inside. Unfortunately, the outside activities were either closed due to weather or construction or were unpleasant due to the weather. We would love to come visit during the summer! Bring a picnic and snacks as the snack bar area is limited.

Great time with the kids, they have changed alot since our last visit. Spent about 3 hours here and did everything beside the theater showing and the walk along path outside as it was hot out. We saw most of the animals and they looked well fed and shaded in their habitats. The bubble exhibit is always fun.

My wife recently bought us tickets to attend an 'otter breakfast' at the Ecotarium. I replied, "I am NOT driving 2 1/2 hours to drink coffee and watch otters swim around. Well, I did, and it was awesome. Claudia's presentation was very informative, engaging, and interesting, and the breakfast was delicious, too! I particularly enjoyed my side conversations with Jericha. 😉 Side note; I was a little disappointed to learn that an "otter breakfast' is not where loud and inattentive children are fed TO the otters. The otters get fish treats and the children go back to wherever awful children live. Oh well. We still had a very nice time. VERY highly recommended.

So we drove over an hr to get to this place. You have to wait half way in the road because they have a booth one person when you drive in to do tickets. I had called the day before to see if I had to make reservations they said no... When I got there my kids could not go on the train because it was sold out... I explained how I was frustrated and literally called the day before to see if I had to make reservations... Half the animals like the cats were not out.. we did see the owl and eagle before you walk to the main entrance. The best part of this place was the bubbles... They only have a small food shack so make sure you bring your own food. They only have a bathroom on one floor. They do have stairs or an elevator to use... They have a playground... But I can go to a playground for free... I will not go here again. Maybe for people within 20 min away and kids around 10 yrs old this would be good for... But not for kids under 5 yrs old and not worth a drive if you live a ways.

Highly recommend! They have everything so organized and it made for an enjoyable experience. I like the QR to order drinks and that they brought it to you. We also got a flat bread which was great! Parking lot was full, but they are thoughtful with seating so it didn’t feel like it. Grab a wine slushie, so good!

Beautiful piece of property and excellent wine! My husband and I did the tour with a tasting and it was awesome! Our guide (Derek or Darryl I believe) was very knowledgeable and engaging! We bought 3 bottles of wine when we left! We also ate lunch at the Knoll while we were there. The figgy piggy pizza was great but everything else was sub par and over priced. I guess you can’t expect much from a winery in terms of food, but still disappointing. Next time we will book a reservation at J’s restaurant on site. We did not Apple pick but it was available while we were there and lots of people were doing it! It’s a family friendly place(dogs too!) and a great outing ! Highly recommend reservations during peak season!

My favorite place for apple picking after my children became teenagers. The property is lovely, and everything is laid out well. Price for the 1/2 bushel bag was very reasonable (no farm animals, no kid-centric entertainment, no hedge maze. The terrain doesn't have a lot of hills, so it's easy to get where you need to go. Apple picking is fun and can be completed at your own pace. The apple trees are clearly identifiable with signage, color coded ribbons, map with descriptions and key to what apple tree has what ribbon colors. I spent 90 minutes meandering around and got 6-7 different varieties of apples (there were attempting least 4-5 varieties that I skipped). There was even one variety that was marked in the orchard but not on the map; it was a happy surprise. The Orchard also offers antique varieties of apples. To find out about what varieties are being picked and when, you can sign up to be on the mailing list to get the updates/notification. The antique apples tend to be ones you do not see much in a supermarket or can be ones that are great for cider making. We go for the antiques varieties that are good for eating or baking. Our favorites this past season were Cox Orange Pippins, Snow, and Kandil Sinap. My family enjoys this orchard because it's easy to navigate, is less chaotic, and is very organized. My daughter and I have planned to have a mom and daughter outing one she is 21 years old to have some wine and food... and walk off the alcohol with some apple picking!

This place was such a cute vibe. I went here with a couple of friends and we really enjoyed our time. There was live music which was nice while sippin on a sangria. I got the turkey club with a side of fries and I was actually super surprised how much I enjoyed my meal. It’s always hard to get a sandwich that I like and this was was soooooo gooood. I will definitely be back!

Last Sunday I was invited to go to lunch with my daughter. I was pleasantly surprised! The weather was beautiful as was the scenery. Food was delicious as well. We had a server by the name of Adam that was wonderful. He served our drinks in a timely manner. I was so pleased with food, service, drinks and atmosphere that I went back today and bought a gift certificate to give to my nephew and his girlfriend. I know they will enjoy it.

This was my first time visiting Nashoba Valley Winery, and overall my wife and I had a great experience. Upon first impression, I thought the grounds could use a bit more upkeep, but everything else made up for it. Parking was easy thanks to two very helpful attendants directing traffic. On the way to the Knoll area, we were greeted by friendly staff, which set a great tone for the day. A tip for first-time visitors: definitely make reservations for whatever you plan to do. The food was delicious—highly recommend the Figgy Piggy! I wasn’t a big fan of the Birria Tacos, but that’s just personal taste. The wines were fantastic, and you absolutely have to try the wine slushi. We did the tasting tour with Darrel as our guide—he was knowledgeable and made the experience enjoyable, though it started a bit late due to others arriving behind schedule (which was frustrating but out of the staff’s control). The winery is busiest in the Fall and is only closed four days a year. One thing I’d suggest is for their website to be a little more detailed about the different types of tastings available, especially for first-time visitors like me. All in all, it was a memorable trip, and I’ll definitely be going back!

This enchanting attraction also features birds and koi fish, making it an educational haven for nature lovers of all ages.
This was an awesome experience! The toddler wasn't too sure about butterflies landing on her, but she thought they were very pretty! Our 5 year old was THRILLED that two different butterflies, including a Blue Morpho, landed on him. This was an amazing experience for children and adults. It is VERY warm inside the butterfly enclosure so dress appropriately. You can also take breaks if you get too warm. There is a cute little picnic area out back and the gift shop was very reasonably priced.

My aunt and I visited a few days ago and had a great time! The atrium is completely full of hundreds of beautiful butterflies and greenery. The staff were personable, knowledgeable, and informative. What a magical place. Brought our three kids ages 3, 4 and 6, they thoroughly enjoyed seeing the many beautiful butterflies. The butterfly area has brick paths winding through beautiful gardens. The educational area had smaller exhibits with unique species. There is a big covered area outside with picnic tables. Ended up spending a little over an hour with the butterflies. There is a staff member in the butterfly area to answer questions. Probably not as exciting for older kids unless they are interested in butterflies/flowers.

Took my family here on a weekday during spring break. Tons of butterflies and bugs to look at. The woman at the counter said to wear white to get the butterflies to land on you. There were a lot of kids there and the space can fill up quickly as it is small. I recommend getting there when they open.

Breezy Picnic Grounds Waterslides

Water park
Nature & Parks
Recreational facility features grassy picnic spots & a reservoir with water slides & a beach.
We visited Breezy Picnic Grounds with high expectations considering the great google reviews. And they did not disappoint!! Firstly, the town of Douglas is a beautiful Massachusetts town and Breezy Picnic Grounds is nestled among a picturesque lake surrounded by the feel of a small town community. The grounds are kept clean and everything looks well kept. There are plenty of picnic tables and places to set up your family for an enjoyable stay. The waterslide lines can be a long wait but the lake should provide the kiddos with enough playtime and entertainment to off set the long lines. The staff is mostly young people (as you can imagine) but they were all attentive and polite. All in all, Breezy Picnic Grounds Waterslides in Douglas, Massachusetts is a wonderful place to visit and spend the day with the entire family. A worthy 5 star review 😁

There was plenty of space, plenty of pic nic tables, I liked that the pic nic area had grass. The lake is clean and the bottom is clear. The kids LOVED the water slides. Life guards were alert and located throughout the entire place. Concession stand was quick and priced reasonably.

Wonderful day! The whole area was kept nice and clean. The beach sandy, the large slide lines moved fast. Restrooms very clean. Kids had a fantastic time. Lifeguards were a little to strict with the small slide. My 4 year old is too tall ....by a smige and they wouldn't let him on, even when no one was in line. That is the ONLY complaint I have. Looking forward to next season!

I brought 2 grandchildren ages 4&6 and they had a blast. I was very impressed how clean & well kept the grounds were and how well staffed they were. The water is clean and there is nice soft clean sand for the kiddos. Picnic tables are available if you get there early enough. We brought our own food in a cooler but still hit the snack bar for soft serve ice cream. Fun Place.

Great clean water, nice slides that allow (slow slide #2) an adult carry a toddler. Not killing the bank menu food as theme parks :). The only complaint is it should open until 7pm in the summer instead of 5pm

This is a wonderful place to spend the day with your family. There are plenty of CLEAN picnic tables (in the shade) and spaced out well (the tables are so well kept, no way of getting a sliver). We loved how the picnic table was close to the water so we can easily watch the kiddos in the water while staying with our stuff. The lake water was so nice and perfect temp, even the sand was so soft, no hard rocks or anything nasty (lol). They provide many trash bins, which are very clean and they keep up with them. The bathrooms were very clean and the soap smelled so good!! I was very impressed!! They have the best lifeguards, they are so attentive and nice. Best of all they made sure to tell some kids not to chase or tease the ducks and the duckling. Also, the rule about no loud music/speakers only headphones is a plus! Nothing is more aggravating than trying to relax and have a good time and hear other people’s loud annoying music. I was hesitant to coming here because of how expensive it is. But after visiting and realizing how well kept this place is and how much fun we all had, it’s definitely worth it. Maybe consider some type of discount for families of 4+ or coupons for members or even some type of season pass? Sorry for the long review; love this place and would highly recommend to families looking for a family day. 🙂👍🏼

North Bridge

Mentioned on

Sights & Landmarks
North Bridge in Concord is a historic replica of the 1775 bridge where the first shots of the American Revolution were fired. It's located in a picturesque setting within Minute Man National Historical Park, surrounded by wooded areas and rolling pastures. The bridge holds significant historical importance as it was the site of a key battle during the American Revolution, marking the first American victory. Visitors can stroll through Colonial-period stone walls and explore plaques that add to its historical aura.
A must-visit for anyone interested in American history. The North Bridge is the site of the “shot heard ’round the world,” marking one of the first battles of the American Revolutionary War in 1775. The area is beautifully maintained with informative plaques and scenic walking paths. It’s a peaceful and quiet place to reflect, with a lovely walk along the Concord River and through the surrounding historic grounds. Perfect for a short, meaningful visit that blends nature and history.

Beautiful September Sunday to take a walk from the adjacent parking to the visitors center at the top of the hill. There are lots of nice trails leading off the main path along the way. The river was low but lots of folks with rooftop boats enjoying the water. There was a memorial service in session on the grounds of the visitor center that was well attended by about 300 people. It is an easy walk with plenty to read and learn along the way. The parking lot was very full but luckily found one of the last spots. I would get there earlier next time. Not nearly as busy on a weekday.

It was absolutely beautiful, and it was amazing to be standing in a place of such meaningful history. It was also very cool to see the residences of people such as Louisa May Alcott in the way to the Old North Bridge, as well as the Old Manse of Ralph Waldo Emerson at the bridge itself.

North Bridge in Concord is a quick and easy stop for anyone who appreciates American history. It's only 10 minutes from the main highway, doesn't cost anything to see, and its historical significance as where the Revolutionary War began speaks for itself. It's a quick and easy stop if you're just passing through, otherwise you can make a day of it with the area offering a myriad of other historical sites to visit in addition to North Bridge. All of this said, I highly recommend it as a stop for all lovers of history.

If you are interested in American history you should visit here. If you want a shorter walk, or have physical limitations, park in the lot off Monument Street. Regardless, also stop at the Visitor Center.

Really amazing experience to stand in the same place where the first fights go birth the nation happened. Incredibly beautiful lane that’s well maintained.

Honestly, my emotions surprised me. The crowd dispersed briefly and I ended up on the bridge alone. It was beautiful, quiet and simple yet profound. The farmer statue reminds you of what happened here. There’s even a small tribute to the British who died at the battle of Concord. I didn’t realize Hawthorne bought the adjacent land. Take time to travel Author’s Row along the drive up from Lexington. Definitely a location worth visiting!!

Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, located in Concord, is not just a resting place for some of America's most brilliant writers and thinkers but also has a rich history. Originally a nature garden under the supervision of Ralph Waldo Emerson, it now houses the graves of notable figures such as Henry David Thoreau and the Alcott family. The cemetery was once a popular spot for locals to take walks and inspired William Ellery Channing's poem 'Sleepy Hollow.'
Wonderful cemetery with, among other headstones, many famous authors buried in one section. The landscape is sprawling, very peaceful place to be. I spent a few hours here and would love to return - I did not see it all.

What an emotional place to visit! Entering the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery through the second gate from Concord's historical center, you'll find signs pointing to the Author's Ridge. On a narrow one way road, you'll quickly reach it - there's room for no more than four or five cars to park at any given time. There's a steep walk to the graves of our beloved famous authors - starting with Hawthorne, followed by Henry Thoreau, Louisa May Alcott and further along is the tomb of Ralph Waldo Emerson. It was lovely to see their graves with tender notes and multiple pencils and pens, even pebbles. It's a beautiful place to honor and remember these wonderful minds that improved our world within their lifetimes. It's a must visit if you're going to Concord MA, and it's open to the public daily from 7am to dusk.

Great old cemetery. This place is huge, so allow some time to wander and check out the grounds. Luckily, you can drive through it. It took us a minute to find Authors Ridge, but we finally did. If you are close to Concord, it's worth going.

Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord is more than just a burial ground — it’s a quiet, leafy sanctuary steeped in history. The highlight for many visitors is Authors Ridge, a peaceful hilltop where some of America’s most influential literary voices rest: Louisa May Alcott, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Henry David Thoreau. The path up to Authors Ridge winds through a mix of shaded and sun-dappled spots, and when you arrive, you’re greeted by simple, humble gravestones surrounded by offerings left by admirers — pens, pebbles, flowers, and handwritten notes. There’s something profoundly moving about standing there, imagining the words these authors wrote not far from where they now lie.

We really enjoyed our visit to Concord but in general, we found signage throughout all historic sites to be lacking. It took us a lot of time in the cemetery to finally locate authors ridge. The cemetery is obviously quite old so walking is not the easiest. It is also very hilly. It would be great if there could be better signage, so that people did not need to wander through the cemetery in search of authors ridge. The actual viewing of the graves was very moving.
Fran K — Google review
Gorgeous. If you are looking for Author's Ridge, go far down the street until you see the signs, then enter. The grounds are massive. Stunning. Drop-dead beautiful. I can spend years here... I probably will. Visit while you can—

An amazing cemetery! Check out authors ridge and also notice the engravings on the tombstone. These were very resilient people. Their tombstone are noticeable not austere unlike the tombstones in the old burial ground that has more of the original founders of concord, which were puritans. Check out the visitor center for awesome tours! General history and specialized available!

Beautiful cemetery. I normally like to walk at a fairly quick pace going through a cemetery but, this one felt peaceful. It was lovely to walk through and amazing to see the resting places of such notable, distinguished authors on Author's Ridge. Highly recommend.

Louisa May Alcott's Orchard House

Louisa May Alcott's Orchard House is a historic mansion in Concord where the famous author wrote her novel "Little Women" and set the story. The home offers tours and special events, including educational seminars for all ages. Visitors can experience the 350-year-old halls that are filled with heirlooms and history. The Alcott family lived in Orchard House from 1858-1877, and it served as an inspirational setting for their literary works.
Felt surreal being in the spaces where Bronson Alcott raised his family and entertained literary figures like Thoreau, Emerson, Hawthorne, and I’m sure many more. It was wonderful to see Louisa May’s writing desk and hear stories of her and her sisters. I especially enjoyed hearing about the youngest sister, May, an accomplished artist and interesting figure in her own right. Many of her childhood drawings are on door frames and walls around the house, and her later art is framed all over. Tour was about an hour long with a lengthy video at the beginning. My 10:15 tour was split into two groups-with 10 or 12 of us in each. They were doing quite a bit of restoration and upkeep in the gardens and orchards. Beautiful property!

The house is beautiful, and I enjoyed the video at the beginning. Unfortunately, the tour was ruined by the guide—an elderly lady who talks endlessly for her own pleasure, providing far too much disorganized information, sometimes almost 15 minutes per room. She was also aggressive and unpleasant. No pictures are allowed, and you can’t look at anything on your own without her shouting at you. Overall, it was a very unpleasant and boring experience, which is in stark contrast to the charm of the book and the story of the writer.
Giustiniano — Google review
This was a surprisingly great activity and we were happy we decided to go, we almost didn't. The tour was informative and the house was actually such an old classy place. We were so honored to walk through history!

A beautiful journey into American literary history! Louisa May Alcott’s Orchard House in Concord, Massachusetts is an absolute treasure for anyone who loves literature, history, or simply charming New England architecture. Nestled among peaceful trees and crisp autumn foliage, the house immediately feels like stepping back in time to the 19th century. The home is beautifully preserved and lovingly maintained—its weathered brown exterior and teal front door are both inviting and historically authentic. Seasonal touches like pumpkins and a welcoming wreath at the entrance added warmth and charm during my visit. Standing on the pathway leading up to the house, it was easy to imagine the Alcott family living, writing, and dreaming here more than 150 years ago. Inside, the guided tours are excellent—thoughtful, informative, and full of fascinating stories that bring Louisa May Alcott’s world to life. You learn not only about her writing of Little Women, which she completed right here in this house, but also about the extraordinary Alcott family—trailblazers in education, social reform, and the arts. Many original family belongings are still in the home, including Louisa’s writing desk and May Alcott’s charming hand-painted artworks on the walls. The grounds are peaceful and picturesque, and the surrounding Concord area adds to the experience with its rich literary history—Walden Pond and the homes of Emerson and Hawthorne are just minutes away.

We visited the home of Louisa May Alcott Orchard House, " Home of Little Women" Concord Massachusetts. Highly recommended for a memorable experience. An interesting historical informative tour guide with family artifacts. Orchard House retains its charm from the time the Alcott family lived there from 1858-1877. The guided tour focused on Louisa Alcott's life and family history.

Really interesting house to tour through with great guides (we had Alya), who show true love and passion for the author and the rich history of the house. I never realised just how much of American history was based around this one small town of Concord (which I highly recommend visiting and finding her grave as an extra) and the shop has several books on Emerson etc as a reference.
The O — Google review
Awesome to see where Louisa May Alcott wrote Little Women, and learn about her unique family and friends. Our guide was excellent, and we learned interesting things - for example, she loves ked to go for a daily run through the woods, never got married, quickly made the equivalent of $20 million due to the popularity of her book. Beautiful artwork from her little sister, May (Amy, in the book), who benefited from her sister's success through professional art training in Europe. Well worth the hour we spent there (and street parking was easy and convenient).
Adam W — Google review
Sadly we can't take pictures inside the Alcott house but I am leaving some pictures of the outside and the School of Philosophy that's right next to it. Although the tour is a little crowded and the house itself is really small, the introduction movie they display at the School of Philosophy is quite informative and the vibes are irreplaceable. It's a dive to the past, worth every moment! I definitely recommend a trip to the Orchard House and the historic Concord!

Southwick's Zoo is a fantastic family destination with a wide range of activities and attractions. The zoo offers an animal farm, camel rides, wildlife shows, and special holiday events. Visitors can enjoy spacious grounds with well-cared-for animals and friendly staff. The on-site restaurant serves delicious but slightly pricey food, while there are also snack options available. The zoo features a variety of animals to see and even has some rides for added fun.
Hands down, one of the best zoos we’ve ever visited/especially for kids! Here, animals roam in spacious, naturalistic habitats, not cramped in cages. One of our absolute favorite parts was feeding the deer, going on the carousel, and, of course, enjoying some delicious ice cream. You can easily spend an entire day here and walk away with beautiful memories.
Irina H — Google review
Nice zoo. I wish they had more, but it's nice for the area. They had a lot of apes and monkeys, which were neat. Some animals like the tiger were hard to see as they were away and asleep. I feel a couple of animals could have had more space. I really like the informative signs throughout that gave a lot of detail about the various animals. I feel this zoo is mostly focused for kids and families more than my age, but it was good to check it out after not being there for years. I enjoyed the sky ride over the park. There are some better deals if you buy tickets ahead of time.

Went to the Jack O Lantern Spooktacular with my kids, met up w my brother& his family there for a cousins outing. The park is decorated so adorably all throughout. Lots of opportunities for pictures. Not just inundated with a million jack o lanterns to fill space, lots of really amazing artwork. Kids had fun, we had fun, only surprise was how few vendor stations were open but hey, overall a terrific night for the family 🎃

Buying tickets online in advance saved us money and made entry easy. This was our third visit, the last being about a decade ago. We had a great time, especially the petting zoo and close encounters with many deers. However, we felt the overall the zoo looked outdated. We wished the lion enclosure was larger, similar to the camels’, as it was quite small. The reptile exhibit was also cramped, with only lizards, toads, and large spiders. My wife was hoping to see snakes, but there weren’t any, which was disappointing. The staff were friendly and busy with their tasks. Oh, and those three cheetah cubs were adorable! We’d definitely go again in the future, hoping to see more animals and maybe a larger lion enclosure.

Southwick’s Zoo is a wonderful experience for all ages! The zoo is impressively clean and well-maintained, making it a comfortable place to explore. The variety of animals is great, and they all appear healthy and well cared for. One of the highlights is the deer forest — getting to walk among and feed the deer was such a unique and peaceful experience. The facilities, including restrooms and dining areas, were clean and easy to access throughout the visit. A great family-friendly destination!

Great zoo. You can see it all in 4hrs or take your time and enjoy a full day there. Fun for all ages. Food options are pretty good. GF options available as well as pack a cooler bring your wagon and have a picnic.

Best zoo I’ve ever been to! I have lived in New England nearly all of my life, but I’d never heard of Southwick’s Zoo until this past week. It was wonderful. My toddler and I spent all day there (10am-4pm), most of it with friends, and we still didn’t see everything! I’d guess you can see more when you’re not going at a 3-year-old’s pace, but with 200 acres of zoo I don’t know if you’d see the whole place. It was well kept, the animals appeared well cared for. We saw several of them eating which was neat and kept them out for viewing longer. There were so many large exotic animals, and SO MANY MONKEYS! The carousel was very nice, as was the playground. And the deer park! How cool to get to feed the deer! Bring quarters so you can get corn. We’re looking forward to returning again.

A huge zoo with a ton of animals and plenty of activities for kids of all ages including a train ride, petting zoo, and deer forest that make the experience unique. We also love their holiday themes experiences for Halloween and Christmas, making it a point to visit every year. They also have awesome drinks for the grown ups! I wish there were more quick easy food options that wasn't just fried concession food. There is a small deli with pre-packaged sandwiches that are decent but we generally end up bringing our own lunches.

Minute Man National Historical Park

Sights & Landmarks
Minute Man National Historical Park, located along Route 2A near Concord Center, is a significant site in American history. It encompasses the route taken by the Redcoats during the Revolutionary War and features historical landmarks such as Old North Bridge and The Wayside. Visitors can explore the area where the first battle of the war took place and learn about Paul Revere's ride through reenactments on Patriots Day.
May is the perfect time to visit this place, when you will see the best of the spring in New England; and also get educated with American history along the way. Starting from the visitor center, you will be able to watch a video about the whole story; then get a map which tells you everywhere you can go and every parking lot it has. Aiming for a good spring-time hike, I enjoyed the farmland and North Bridge the most, but there are more things to see, such as the Orchard House (which offers you a nice guided tour with $15).
Wanyu H — Google review
Was disappointed to find the visitors center closed during the posted open hours. There were no rangers or anyone around. I'm sure that's due to governmental budget cuts and not the fault of park personnel. It's a beautiful park with incredibly preserved historical structures and plenty of informative signage. The trails are well-kept and there were lots of great birding opportunities and I saw turtles and frogs/froglets in the pond near the visitors center. I do plan on getting over here more since it's my local park.
Natalie K — Google review
Beautiful National Park with loads of American History. Walking paths galore, some shaded some without shade. Locals clearly enjoy the park for cycling and recreation. Two visitor centers, the main one has very limited hours, the North Bridge has more regular hours. Many rangers out throughout the park and available to answer questions and tell the history. Tours are also available for a fee. Park is also close to many other great historical spots in MA.

I learned so much more about American History! We only had one day to spend in the area. So we visited 3 sites: the North Bridge in Concord, the Minute Man National Historical Park in Lincoln, and the Lexington Battle Green in Lexington. We could have spent an entire week here visiting all of the Revolution sites as well as the literary sites from the Transcendentalist era, which I had no idea were so related! If you have time, rent a bike and follow the path of the British regulars as they were pushed back to Boston.

Very nice historical place, describing the beginnings of the American Revolution. I recommend the video at the visitor center and also walking the trail that connects the different building and places of interest. Concord is close by and worth visiting.

The Beginning of Independence! My daughter (13) and I visited the Minute Man National Historical Park on July 1, 2025. The Park Rangers were extremely knowledgeable and the park was in excellent condition. The Park marks the first "battle" of the Revolutionary War at Lexington & Concord. This is where things escalated to a point of no return between the British and the Colonists. Highly recommend visiting and taking in the very place that led to American Independence.

We loved this non traditional visitor center. you have to walk a ways but there ia a nice path, no stairs to the building. The mocie ia unique and aboit 45 minutes. We thought it was very good. Check the official website for times, they are different than the posted ones in the parking lot. They closed at noon because they dont have air conditioning.

An absolute MUST visit for EVERYONE who visits Massachusetts! This is where the Revolutionary War began! You are walking through History! You can just feel everything in the atmosphere! I could have spent all day here and still it wasn’t enough. Take your time, pay your respects to the events that happened here, go visit some of the museums. You will not be disappointed.

Jack's Abby Craft Lagers

$$$$cheap
Brewery
Microbrewery & tasting room with a beer garden offering craft lagers, pizzas & bar food.
I have had Jack's Abby saved in my "Want to Go" list for many years, and I was fortunate to be able to visit on my recent trip to MA with my family. I'm a big fan of the beer, which has recently become available in my home area of Northern VA. Of course, having their beer fresh on tap - and getting to try small-batch offerings only available on site was great. The food options were solid, even our young child found some great mac & cheese on the menu. I had an issue with my food, and I brought it to our server's attention. It was promptly replaced, and the manager bent over backwards to apologize and take care of our concerns. The customer service was absolutely stellar, the kind that makes you want to come back again and again! Hopefully we'll get to visit again on our next trip to the area. Keep up the great work, and please keep sending beer down south, it's top-notch!!

Enjoyed the Mai fest in the outdoor beer garden in perfect weather. Arrived early evening on May 16th. Began with a beer flight, especially enjoying Dark as Hell - a dark lager with notes of coffee and chocolate! I ordered the sausage platter and the house threw in their special mashed potato too. Not only that, we were all treated to a stein of pilsener from a live keg tapping! My friend and designated driver ordered the kale butternut squash and pomegrante pizza mind you which was also very tasty! Finally two orders of German Chocolate Cake rounded out the meal. Our waitress Delaney was very attentive. What a great experience!
Doug S — Google review
Not good. We ordered the buffalo blue wings that looked and tasted like they were sitting out and cooked again. Wings were tough and dry, definitely not looking like pics in other reviews. These wings were not good! Very little buffalo flavor. Asked for well done steak, got medium but we cooked it and seasoned it a little more so not pictured. We ate it cause it cost alot but disappointed with the quality
Nancy M — Google review
Good selection of beers. Nice ambiance. They had age limit in sitting areas, which was weird. The pizza bread and pretzels were overcooked/ burned. It was okay but nothing special!

Came in from Wisconsin to visit some friends, by far had probably the best meal I've ever had from a brewery, and what would probably be in the top ten meals of all time, the special swordfish risotto was unbelievably good, and I highly highly recommend it

Stopped by after eating at a nearby restaurant, had a flight and every one was very good and I'm not much of a beer guy, the cider was very good, not dry like they say but it's a very solid semi sweet cider. Will be stopping by again to try the food as well as it all looked and smelled amazing
Nick L — Google review
The atmosphere feels like Chuck E. Cheese-lots of noise and more kids than adults. It’s definitely not ideal for a date night, though families with young kids might enjoy it. The food and beer are good, but the environment takes away from actual experience of being at a brewery.
Hope G — Google review
This is a tough one. Jack's has terrific beers, solid food offerings and knowledgeable, friendly staff who really make Jack's one of of the "must visit" craft taprooms. BUT and this is a BIG drawback: the kids running and screaming throughout the beer hall make the experience noisy and unpleasant. The room is large and echoey and that amplifies the screaming and noise. With all the kids.... the experience is like having a beer at the local YMCA or Dave & Busters. We sat on the front patio to get away from the screaming....but it was everywhere, even through the glass. We have kids. We like kids. But it's really over-the-top at Jack's. If you have kids and you take them out with you when go drinking...ok? But, I've brought colleagues to Jack's for drinks and post-work adult conversation, met coworkers for drinks and had team drinks and dinners at Jack's...but no more. As for date night....hard pass. In the future, maybe if we do Jack's...we'll do takeout and buy 4-packs to go from now on. Know before you go.

Wright's Dairy Farm and Bakery

$$$$affordable
Bakery
Cakes, bread & sweets are sold alongside dairy-fresh milk at this airy bakery set on a farm.
We used Wright's Bakery for our desserts for our wedding and we were more than happy with not only the quality and taste of the desserts but also the service. We decided to do a little something different as neither my husband or I are cake people. However, we love cinnamon rolls! The staff at Wright's Bakery (shout out to Julia who was always so quick to answer my emails!) helped us figure out how we could make our cinnamon roll dreams come true for us and our guests. They also were quick to help us make a last-minute adjustment to add in some gluten free treats for our guests. The set up was flawless and so quick! Our guests are still talking about how much they loved the cinnamon rolls seven months later to and my nephew admitted he ate three before dinner was even over (he had to be cut off until everyone was done with dinner). We cannot recommend this bakery enough! They have an option for any type of dessert plan you need or want! We will definitely be going back to get anniversary cinnamon rolls [along with all kinds of other treats :) ]

Wright’s is our go to for every celebration. We had our wedding cake done by them which was fabulous, and recently a private pilot certificate party and they really captured exactly what I was hoping to have on this special day. We appreciate their communication and flexibility to capture the essence of our cake proposal. We always get the funfetti cake which is so delicious and meaningful to us since that was our wedding cake flavor!

When it came to planning our wedding day, an integral piece came into play: cake! We had many options in this regard, but as a lifelong Rhody native my heart was set on Wright’s. I had viewed photos of their specialty cake gallery, and was impressed by their display, but when we entered our wedding reception and saw our wedding cake we were absolutely blown away. It was gorgeously decorated with real white roses & Italian eucalyptus, with an exquisite birch bark detail; everything I had asked for yet blew my expectations away. The smell of the Italian buttercream frosting was tempting us all night, and when we finally sliced in and served each other as bride and groom, our taste buds had a party all on their own. A decadent moist yellow cake with strawberry jam filling wrapped up in that delicious frosting, AMAZING. Everyone raved over the cake, and our proprietors of the reception venue even exclaimed “When we saw Wright’s on the roster, we knew they (the bride & groom) knew what they were doing.” Thank you so much to your staff for making our special day that much more magical. When next we need an amazing cake, we’ll be choosing Wright’s!!

We went to see a taste of Ireland very recently in this charming little theater. Charming good old fashioned theater that took me back to when I was a child. The freshly refurbished murals painted all around lended to the cabaret feel. The seats were very comfortable though not very wide. Handicapped accessibility is awesome here. Concession costs were quite reasonable, And the staff was wonderful! They really seem to be enjoying their work! Of course the entertainment was brilliant and the whole performance was relaxing and yet invigorating.

Went to see the Tribute ELO Show not the cover band with my wife on Nov1st. If you closed your eyes you would say you were at the real show and not exaggerating!! Incredible show and evening ! Everything is so convenient. Free parking you can almost throw a rock and hit it your so close to the Stadium and the restaurant where we ate. We ate at Ciro’s Tavern. Had a Medieval theme and a very different atmosphere. A lot of people going to the show and we had a good time there and we met a lot of nice people. The food is Not Your Mother’s Cooking but good enough since it’s right there. We walked to the theatre it’s so close. Beautiful Theatre every seat is excellent. Nice little cocktail setup with beer, wine, etc. The staff is very nice and they make excellent drinks both rounds ! We walked into the theatre and the show was starting in 5 minutes. We could not believe the sound system in there ! Perfect sound !! The bass was great , the lead singer and everyone else was crystal clear. Now the band. Never heard any band duplicate the songs they were playing to the tee and you know ELO has so many instruments and sounds combining in each song. It is just amazing ! The only bad thing is they ruined us seeing another tribute or cover band because no band will ever come close to what we saw and heard that night ! I guess that’s the results you get when you have been doing it for over 10 years together ! See you March 7th in the Norwood Theatre. I hope they have a sound system like the Stadium or we will be disappointed !

Mary Baker! The sweetest person ever! There were 8 of us (4 Adults and 4 kids) and we went to the Taproom at 6 PM without making any reservations. The tap room has plenty of tables inside and outside and we were given a huge table where all of us could sit comfortably. The great experience actually began with the spacious table. The dinner we were served was delicious. This is the second time we have had food here and the food served was delicious, hot, fresh and tasty. Great sandwiches, burgers, wings, BBQ, and specials. 3 kids finished 2 plates of wings straight and then had chicken and cheese burgers. They loved it. We had a lot of food and loved every bit of it. The drinks menu is pretty good if you like beers! The taproom was also great with welcoming kids and families, had Trivia and live music which made it a fun night out. Service and wait staff was simply fantastic. Lots of Natick locals in the restaurant which made it feel home. Mary Baker was our server and she was one of the loveliest people we have met. She fed the kids, was attentive to our order and made great recommendations. She is the reason why we would all go there again!

The bar area was cozy and the food was great, we ordered the fried pickles and it was a really large portion. The outdoor dining area was free to enter and you scan a code to order food/drinks. We ordered the ice cream cider donut. That was yummy! There is a $37 fee to take the train to pick apples and visit the corn maze. We thought that was a bit high.

We did a quick stop to get some apple cider donut ice cream sandwiches. They were delicious. Maybe soft fresh donuts would have been better but, still tasty. Also, ended up getting some hard ciders and regular apple cider. Super cute area that was decorated for the October/fall season. We did not go apple picking but, did hang out on the benches and listed to some live music. All together a great time and a little more than we expected.

Had so much fun peach picking - absolutely loved the shaded walkways down to the peach picking areas. The grapevines and the bricks make for such a beautiful walk. The tractor playground was great (wish there was more shade in that area).

While not the perfect experience for our picking interests, the $37-39 per person (anyone age 3 and up!) pricing might work for those who eat plenty of fruits, folks who are looking for specific u pick fruits, groups who all want to pick, and/or don't want to travel far into Mass might find this place appealing. Somewhat family friendly, though again the ages 3+ tickets can be quite steep. Compared to farms nearby who charge per pound/bag or regulate admission per bag purchased, this is less group friendly and not the cheapest option. I enjoyed walking around the public spaces and the farm market. Had to give a star for the helpful staff directing traffic, assisting with parking, and dining staff. We went with a group. Some of us went to the orchard and paid the admission fee, which includes access to the grounds, play areas, and an u-pick bag. The rest of us sat in the outdoor dining area, which was free of charge and you could easily order food from the benches via QR code. Sun umbrellas were easy to use and well maintained. Basic foods offered, taproom had more dine-in options. Plan ahead and see what's in season to make the most of your experience. Their varieties of apples, peaches, and pears are plentiful, especially when compared to other local farms. Easy to access, about 15-20 minutes away from major highways and state routes and mostly on paved roads (exception when you're on the farm proper). Easy to find, clearly signage on the road and leading up to the farm.

I had a lovely time apple picking here. The apple varieties were delicious, crunchy, and juicy. Great for making apple pie afterwards. Also had some of the apple cider donuts which were a delight and quite big. There's plenty of places for kids to play and also places to grab a bite to eat. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but that's what you get going to one of the farms closest to Boston.

Lookout farm has a lot of low reviews because of the pricing. To go apple picking and not drive out to western MA, you’re going to pay. Plus you can still enjoy a great day at the farm and not necessarily do U-Pick. They have a great selection of very reasonably priced pumpkins. The market is a must visit if you want to pick up some apples, cider and treats. The outdoor restaurant is a good spot to meet friends and the entire farm is very family friendly. Parking can be crazy on the peak fall season but the quality here is great. That’s what you’re paying for (and close proximity to the city).

Lookout Farm's admission fee of $37 per person for those aged three and older grants access to the barnyard play area, corn maze, apple picking with a half-peck bag, orchard, and tractor play area. Visitors solely interested in the food and taproom offerings are exempt from the admission pass requirement. The cider donuts, cider donut ice cream, and cider beer were deemed satisfactory, although the freshness of the donuts is unconfirmed due to the lack of visible preparation. It is advisable to budget accordingly, as the food prices are relatively high. The farm's aesthetic appeal is enhanced by the availability of seating options under tents and umbrellas.
