The resort has recently returned to full capacity, and the town of Hunter is bustling with activity. Guests can savor delectable treats at the newly opened Fellow Mountain Cafe on Main Street. The resort's staff members are known for their exceptional service, as exemplified by David at the front desk who went above and beyond to accommodate an early arrival.
Enjoyed our visits here. Had a lots of fun as a beginner. Resort has nearly everything you need. Even if you are missing equipment, you can purchase from their place. I would recommend renting the first time, the process is easy and the waiting line was managable. I would definetly recommend this place to enjoy snow with friends and family.

So I've have skiied at Hunter a few times, great place during the week. We took the chairlift ride to the top, the summit lodge is closed temporarily for a remediation of some sorts. If you don't like heights this is not the place to be. The views are always great. Make sure you wear good walking shoes. The fall is the best time to go. Enjoy your ride.

We went to Octoberfest at Hunter Mountain. It was nice. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. It is a lot smaller though compared to years ago when our family would attend. The steak food truck was great! Awesome food and excellent service! Also had funnel cake, always a plus! And tried poutine for the first time. It was good. I will probably go back next year.
Joseph B — Google review
Place has really gone down hill ever since it has been sold to Vail. The trails have practically stayed the same for a decade with maybe one or two new trails. Hellgate is always fun but it’s the only trail that you can get real speed on. They have fun terrain parks and a nice lodge bar but otherwise it’s gone down hill. They sell overpriced tickets and practically force you to buy overpriced food. Management is a bunch of goofballs who have no idea how to run the logistics of a mountain.
JustJrmy — Google review
SkyRide up Hunter Mtn in the Fall likely better than in any other season. Helpful staff...beautiful views on a clear day...could almost see the Rockies. After 11am the indoor outdoor food vendors purvey their standard wares alongside kiddie fun rides. WORTHWHILE
Bill K — Google review
I ski and live an hour away but never had been there. The line to return on the fall leaf chair lift was insanely long because they didn't encourage people to share seating.
T M — Google review
Solid ski experience for a day. Trails are somewhat limited and not too many lifts exist in this small NE mountain. The staff was very helpful and they make a point to load six skiers at a time which helps with lines. The food is typical low-quality high-price food, but the pizza is decent. I wish they improved that aspect. Overall a decent option not too far from NYC.

Went to experience the Octoberfest event. It was out first time there and it was very nice and plenty of events going on during the day

We did the sky rider tour yesterday ! It was hands down the most amazing day! The colors were gorgeous. Our tour guides were Brandon and Tink, and you literally should request them!!! They were energetic, enthusiastic, fun, supportive and very informative! We felt safe and comfortable the entire time! I will 100% be back! If you’ve been thinking of doing it, so it!!!! I can not wait to go again!
Lisa S — Google review
Just did the sky rider tour with some of my friends, and we had an absolute blast. We got to go on 5 ziplines and walk over a really cool suspension bridge. It was during peak fall foliage, so the views were absolutely stunning. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable, engaging and fun! I would highly recommend booking a tour with them if you are in the area, you won’t be disappointed.
Gina H — Google review
What a fun day! We did the full 3 hour tour with Sam, Luke and Bryan who made the whole experience a lot of fun. They were great guides and clearly love their jobs. The length of the tour definitely made it worth the price! Just be prepared to use your 'abs'.
Katherine H — Google review
Awesome time. We did the mid mountain tour for starters but definitely want to return for the skyrider. We had a ridiculous amount of rain and ended up completely saturated but it didn't stop the fun at all. I mean if you haven't ziplined down a mountain in the pouring rain, did you even Zipline? Such a fun time and the rain made us go faster 😂 our guides Brandon and Kincaid were awesome. We had a lot of laughs and fun during our experience. Looking forward to the skyrider in the future.
Casey C — Google review
The zip lining was an absolute blast today, I would 10/10 recommend everyone go and enjoy themselves! The tour guides Zack, Nate and Dustin were hysterical and fun easing everyone's nerves, and really made the experience even that much more enjoyable. Can't wait to come back again someday!
Matthew J — Google review
Make sure you have a way to secure your phone and stuff. I forgot this and bought a Fanny pack-type-thing for $20. First time zip lining for my girls and me but we had a blast. Group size will be about 5-10. Guides are very patient and good about getting the little ones to take their first zip when they are 50 feet in the air. They don’t get frustrated if it takes more than 5 minutes for the kids to let go.
Charles H — Google review
My wife and I went on the Skyrider Tour and love it! It was my second time here but my wife's first. Our guides Luke and Dakota were great and made the experience more enjoyable. I highly recommend trying this Excursion at least once, you won't be disappointed.
Sarge M — Google review
New York Zipline Adventures skyrider tour exceeded our expectations by far! It was such an amazing and fun experience, with incredible views of the mountain range! Coming mid-October was a great idea as the fall foliage was beautiful. One of the best parts was our guides. Tink, Dustin, and Dakota were so awesome, we felt very safe and in good hands! Not only were they very knowledgeable and experienced, but all three had the best personalities and told funny stories which made sure everyone in the group had a memorable time. I definitely want to go back again, and will be absolutely requesting the same guides.

We came here last year for our anniversary and loved it so much we made it a yearly tradition. Returned this year & they included pizza to their menu which pairs nicely to their amazing ciders / fresh wines. The staff is so friendly & makes this a fun experience. Thank you so much & see you next year!
Leslie V — Google review
A cider and specialty wine brewery. We tasted 12 samples from a selection of wines and ciders. Each tasting was more unique and delicious than the last. The kind, charming, and warm-hearted service was truly heartwarming and brought a smile to our faces. Highly recommended place. The charming and warm-hearted Amanda knew how to adapt additional flavors for us and catered to our tastes.
Anat L — Google review
We had an absolutely wonderful time here. The apple cider donuts are so delicious you will want eat some there and also be sure to take some to go. They are unique and can’t be found anywhere else. Their wines are great and ciders are also excellent. The grounds are beautiful and the staff are friendly and enthusiastic to help you taste new flavors and specialties. We decided to try everything and we need up grabbing a bunch of items from the shop on our way out. We can’t wait to go back. Highly recommended!
Donald W — Google review
Overall it was a really good time. My husband and I stopped by yesterday 8/21/2025 in the afternoon to pick some apples. We were greeted right away but it took a few minutes for someone to help us cause it was busy. We decided to pick apples first then come back for a wine tasting. The wine was okay - but I don't remember the last time I did a tasting at a local place and I've never done one with apples before. I did buy a bunch of bottles for gifts etc. I would totally recommend the Apple Ice Wine. There are also trails but we we didn't do that. I didn't see any dogs but know that they are dog friendly. It wasn't until we were done picking apples that we saw the apple identification map inside - that would have been helpful but we figured it out. The parking situation is a little dubious but that's probably because I'm very NYC so parking on the side of the road or on grass is odd to me.

Recently visited the Hilltop Orchards on our stay in the Berkshire's. We arrived on a beautiful fall mid day Friday. Quite a few people were there. Fresh donut operation going on in the front. Fresh flowers, apples and pumpkins surrounded the entrance! Eventually sat down next to the fireplace. Tried a cider flight at the bar like area. Gentleman working in that area was very kind and helpful, while explaining each cider. Loved the atmosphere. Thought it was a perfect setting. The couple running the Orchard were hustling around and kind. Donuts were also very good! A lot of moving parts and pieces and everyone was doing their part! Highly recommended
Brian F — Google review
I hardly ever do reviews but Furnace Brook is exceptional! We had wonderful service and Amanda made our girls weekend winery trip special. She catered to our tastes and suggested various combinations that we thoroughly enjoyed. We shared stories and photos of our families including crazy dogs. We had the fabulous goat cheese and pesto pizza twice baked by Sarah - sharing her great sense of humor … the first one was in the sun too long!!! 😝 Spoken like a true family member! We had such a relaxing fun day, we came back for a wine couple of favorites the next day. 💕 We highly recommend the Furnace Brook Winery and will come back next time we’re in the area!
Holli R — Google review
The highlight of the girl’s getaway midweek vacation meetup (from VT/ from NYC) was our very enjoyable visit to HILLTOP ORCHARDS, Richmond, MA!!! What a warm & inviting setting…great cider, wine, cider & wine tastings, jams/ jellies, honeycrisp applesauce, fresh cider donuts (OMG, The Best EVER!)…All made on premises. A stroll through the orchard (with still plenty of apples to pick) on a crisp fall day just enhanced our trip to The Berkshires. Sara, co-owner, and Shirley, most welcoming staffer greeted us as if we were family😁 In our travels, we’ve experienced many orchards (both Domestic & International)…HILLTOP ranks extremely high by comparison! Don’t miss this gem when visiting the Berkshires! Cheryl & Paula
CHERYL L — Google review
We had such a lovely day trip from upstate NY. The wines and ciders are beyond delicious and the owners/staff are so friendly and helpful. Our puppy had the best time in the shop, tasting room, and in the apple fields! Highly recommend a trip there any time. Even if it's just to sip some cider in front of their cozy fireplace. Thank you again for an amazing experience

USS SLATER

Mentioned on

Museum
Sights & Landmarks
The USS SLATER is a museum located in the U.S. that offers tours of the last remaining WWII-era destroyer escort ship still afloat in the country. Visitors can explore various areas of the ship including the galley, guns, and quarters. The knowledgeable and informative guides provide insight into what life may have been like during active service on board. Unlike other boat museum ships, visitors are able to sit on and move the ship's guns around for a more interactive experience.
This was a great experience. My husband is a big history buff and he loved it. My kids 9, 3 and 1 did well with it, the two older even enjoyed it, though it may not be every kids cup of tea. My husband wants to go back to do a longer tour when our oldest is able to go along. The tour guide was very informative, really cool piece of reserved U.S. history.
Carol — Google review
Great place to visit, very informative and tons of tourists options to meet your needs (physical/time/interest). Staff were very friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly enjoy their job. Riaf (sp?) was awesome! Found this through a Google search of "things to do with kids in Albany" and was very happy that I did. Albany was the half-way point on a road trip from Boston for my 8YO son, 72YO dad, and me. Definitely recommend! Was right off the highway, 30min tour allowed us to stretch our legs but not be detoured too long for arriving at our final destination. There is free parking and also a picnic area to enjoy sitting and watching the river.
Ellen M — Google review
Visiting the USS Slater was an absolutely incredible experience! This was the first warship we have ever had the chance to explore, and it completely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we stepped aboard, we were transported back in time and given a vivid sense of what life was like for those who served on this historic vessel. Our tour guide was phenomenal and extremely knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about sharing the ship’s history. Every story, every detail, and every corner of the ship came alive through their explanations. The restoration work on the USS Slater is nothing short of extraordinary. It’s clear that countless hours of dedication and care went into preserving every detail, from the machinery to the living quarters, and it’s inspiring to see history kept alive so meticulously. We took the full bow-to-stern tour, which allowed us to see every aspect of the ship, from the operational areas to the crew quarters. It was fascinating to witness how this ship functioned during its active service. What made the experience even more special was the combination of history, hands-on exploration, and personal storytelling. You really gain a deep appreciation for the challenges, bravery, and daily life of those who served aboard. The USS Slater isn’t just a museum, it’s a living piece of history that gives visitors an unforgettable, immersive experience. We walked away not only educated but truly inspired, and it’s a memory we will cherish forever. This is absolutely a must do for anyone visiting the area, whether you’re a history enthusiast or simply looking for a unique and meaningful adventure!
Kyle Q — Google review
This has been something I've wanted to experience for a while. While I was not able to go aboard. I did really appreciate the staff they were very helpful and upfront with answering my questions about the accessibility of the ship. I could of gotten aboard with my wheelchair but I would not have been able to do much more than just that. The visitor center & gift shop are completely accessible. And they have a very nice observation deck with interpretive signage. I could fully see every part of the ship. I couldn't really get a good photo of the USS Slater in it's entirety. 🫡🇺🇸
Landon M — Google review
My son and I had a fantastic tour given by Art who is a very informative and enthusiastic guide. It was amazing to see a war ship so well cared for and preserved. Art shared an abundance of insight into the working of the ship and the men who served on it. He provided information you don't read about in books such as why the cook may ask if you are right or left handed during rough weather or why the officers preferred the top bunks. My son will be talking about the tour for a very long time. I highly recommend it if you are in the area.
Nancy B — Google review
While I did not get a chance to tour. It was fun to get a chance to finally see the ship from the outside. Big thanks to New Jersey's Ryan Szimanski efforts on YouTube that made me aware of this and many other very cool ships! Please feel free to use these pictures for promotion.

The U.S.S. Slater was an amazing tour worth the time. I took the "Stem to Stern" which is the 2 hour tour and includes the engine room. I highly recommend this as an educational and enjoyable experience. The tour I took was $25 and worth every penny
John S — Google review
Angela and I had a great time visiting USS Slater and we learned a lot during the Stem to Stern tour with Scott! Their radio room is open most Saturday mornings, and as amateur radio operators, it was a privilege to make radio contacts from the ship.

Nestled at the southern end of Albany's Empire State Plaza, the New York State Museum stands as a testament to the rich tapestry of New York's natural and cultural history. Established in 1836, it proudly holds the title of being the oldest and largest state museum in America. Visitors can explore over 100,000 square feet dedicated to diverse exhibitions that delve into topics ranging from Native American heritage to Adirondack wilderness and even artifacts from 9/11.
I love the carousel ride on the 4th floor. Open from 11am to 4pm, except Mondays (closed). The ride is available every half hour, so arrive a few minutes early. It is worth the wait.... loved it. The 9/11 remembrance section is very poignant and brings back memories from that time.

I have visited this museum on several occasions. About 3 and enjoyed it every time. I visited by myself and twice with my wife. The first was just out of curiosity. My wife's family lives in Albany so while renting a airbnb we stopped by this museum. No long lines but inside there were a great deal of people. There is a sesame place exhibit and a African American exhibit detailing life throughout the 20th century. There is also a 911 exhibit that is hard to watch with actual fire trucks from the attacks damaged and all. I didn't realize this museum existed. I don't believe I finished the exploration after 3 times .it's free and worth the trip.
Dwayne W — Google review
Parking was free on weekend. Spent about 1.5 hours in the museum - could have spent more time. Admission was free. Interesting exhibits.

We wanted an education about the earth and it's movement. Rocks and movement upon the millennium. We received a grand education of millions of years. From the smallest of shells and plants that held safest to the layers of life. To, perhaps us. Thank you.
Charles B — Google review
This museum has exhibits about natural history as well as the Metropolitan. I only visited the part about the metropolis. Most of the displays are old items brought from New York City, such as antique fire trucks and decorative pieces taken from demolished buildings. The layout isn’t very well organized, and the flow feels a bit confusing.
Dylan W — Google review
A visit to the NY State Museum instills a sense of awe and respect for history and diversity of NY. Kid-friendly and free, this museum has something for everyone. Highlights include exhibits on indigenous people, migrants arriving at Ellis Island, African Americans and Harlem, and the tragedy of 9/11. The museum can benefit from updates and more interactive features. Don’t forget to ride the classic carousel on the 4th floor and rekindle your inner child.

New York State Capitol

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
The New York State Capitol is a stunning historical landmark with a renaissance-revival design that serves as the seat of government for the state. The building boasts intricate architectural details both inside and out, including features reminiscent of a French chateau. Free tours are available on weekdays, providing visitors with an opportunity to appreciate the beauty and grandeur of this majestic structure.
Paid street parking is available. If you park on State Street, it is easy to get to the State Capitol building and to the I Love NY letters The building is an absolute masterpiece of late 19th-century architecture, with a stunning blend of Romanesque and Renaissance styles. It's truly a sight to behold, both inside and out. The intricate stone carvings and the grand staircases are particularly impressive—the "Million Dollar Staircase" is wonderful and feels like something out of a fantasy novel.
Asiri B — Google review
Must see. The three massive, intricately carved interior stone staircases alone are worth the free admission and your time, now with restored skylights admitting gorgeous natural light. Don’t miss the Hall of New York paintings gallery or resplendent assembly chamber with its stained glass windows and carved coffered ceiling.
Rebecca T — Google review
The New York State Capitol building is truly breathtaking. Its intricate and unique architecture stands out with incredible detail and craftsmanship. The massive stone structure is both historic and majestic, making it one of the most impressive landmarks in Albany. Whether you’re into architecture or just sightseeing, this is definitely a place worth visiting.
Tara — Google review
Absolutely incredible. We have been to almost every capitol building in the US and this one is my favorite! Wish we could have done the tour. Simply stunning architecture and so much variety. Great exhibits inside. Street parking was relatively inexpensive.
Melissa M — Google review
Of all the 35 or so state capitols I have seen, this is probably the best. The scale and architecture of the place is amazing. Came on a Saturday during a pass through of the area, so didn't get to see the inside, which I am sure is fabulous. I am sure parking on a weekday not fun. I will definitely be back to tour the inside.
Jimmer W — Google review
This Capitol is amazingly beautiful. If you happen to be in the area it is 100% worth the visit. They offer free tours, and Amy did a great job today.
Dawnie — Google review
The New York State Capitol is one of the most stunning buildings in Albany — a masterpiece of stonework and history. The seats are comfortable and the there was ample space inside to sit down enjoy a snack talk with your group before the show starts. I specifically went and saw a clue and it was so much fun. Parking was very easy as well. Can't wait to go back for another show.

We are season ticket holders for Proctor’s Broadway series. We are very lucky to get such high caliber shows here in Schenectady, often shortly after they go on tour. The Theater itself is nice. The seats are a little on the small side if you are a bigger person. If you are a season ticket holder, you get access to the Ovation lounge ahead of the show, where you can order food and cocktails. Concession prices are not alarmingly high and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. There is a parking garage across the street that is a fairly quick in and out.

An utterly fantastical, totally splendiferous, jaw-droppingly wonderful night at Wicked. The sets, the lights, and THE ACTORS! PURE BLISS!

Beautiful ornate, old fashioned theater. Great production for Neil Diamond story. Guy who played him sounded a lot like him and the supporting cast, dancers, singers, especially the guy who sang Shilo was awesome, broadway NYC caliber. Only issue for me was my seats. I bought orchestra seats, row S, thinking I was 19 rows from the stage. Found out that there was another whole section in front of those, we were just a few rows from the back of the theater. Plus, the seats were tight, like regular coach on an airplane. I am 6', my knees were lightly touching the seat in front of me.

Had a fun entertaining night with Master Chef Live. Only downside was they should provide a camera over each chef so you can pick and see what they are doing to learn things.

Very kind employees! Helpful! Loved it and would see a show here again! Can’t go wrong in any seat!

Situated alongside the picturesque Mohawk River in Schenectady, the Rivers Casino & Resort offers a vibrant blend of entertainment, gaming, and relaxation. The adjacent Landing Hotel provides spacious rooms with stunning views of Mohawk Harbor for a comfortable retreat. The lively casino features an array of slot machines and table games, including a dedicated High Limit area for serious players. Guests can enjoy dining options and catch major sports games on clean TVs while indulging in the thrilling atmosphere.
Our room was great, very clean, nice and bright( we got a corner room with 2 windows) great views of the Mohawk River. The room was well stocked with towels. We had a good time at the casino, It is also very clean. The hotel itself is very beautiful, it feels and looks very luxurious. We would definitely stay there again.

I was passing through and stayed a night at the Clifton Park Holiday Inn Express. I decided to visit the casino for a couple of hours. It was an easy 20 minute drive through some great neighborhoods. The casino is bright and vibrant. It's in a nice area and has plenty off parking. I felt very safe and had a great time. I'm a video poker enthusiast and there were ample machines and varieties to suit me. I was happy I went and enjoyed myself immensely.

Clean place. Staying in a block of rooms for an event. Messy check in for a few simple requests. Simply asked for adjoining rooms with elderly companions. Well, different floors doesn’t count. Can’t believe no coffee in rooms or lobby for guests. NOT a fan of expensive Starbucks in lobby. A walk thru casino there’s a diner. Can’t get just a bagel or a few eggs and toast. Gotta go for the $13.00 breakfast and coffee is extra. Shouldn’t have to cut eggs with a knife. Signs of a too hot grill. Home fries are deep fried potatoes. Temp is cold in whole place so dress accordingly. As a result warm food on a cold plate in a cold room isn’t optimal.

I'm not huge on gambling so my review is probably a bit biased based on that. 200 or 300 dollars is really the most I'd ever want to risk, so my play options are limited. I love the game of craps, but the lowest limit I ever see on a table is $15 including Rivers. I went on a Wednesday morning so the place was pretty dead. Seems like a good time to open a $5 or $10 limit table to maybe get some inexperienced players involved, but no dice (so to speak). They do have some electronic craps and roulette machines, as well as blackjack. I think they were $5 minimum. Those are pretty fun and are a good way to teach people those games without pressure or annoying other players. We had a couple drinks at one of the bars. I had a Woodford Old Fashioned (bartender knew how to make it!) And my wife had a Mimosa. Total was $24 which surprised me. I figured the drinks would be a more nominal charge to help you gamble some more, but after that we were kind of done with the place. We grabbed lunch at the Chinese restaurant there which was very good and fairly reasonable. Casino was a bit smaller than expected. It's nice that Rivers is not a long drive for us - only an hour for access to real table games. Oh... one thing that annoyed me was that several table dealers were wearing masks. I will never sit at a table with a masked dealer, seems like it might bring some bad luck.

First time going since I was a kid......was a great experience. Actors did an awesome job. Only drawback was that everything had to be purchased in cash.

Great and fun place to go and enjoy the night of gambling and dining . Dukes is a great steak house to eat at. The food and the staff is amazing. Amaya one of the bartenders is amazing always remembers my name what I drink and even to what I usually order for food. Deff the best bartender and server there. When she is at the hotel bar she is just as good and like being at dukes she is pleasant and always is smiling and happy. If having a bad day she is one to cheer u up and even if u are losing she will put a smile on your face.

Great place especially as it’s very close to home. Spent a couple of hours at the bar playing video poker today and had a relaxing time. Soft drinks are free at the bar and the service was good. Also played roulette and lost but similarly good time. NON SMOKING unlike the Turning Stone which is great.
Richard R — Google review
We go to Rivers every couple weeks to hangout at the bars (Dukes mostly). The bartenders are professional and attentive. Anthony and Paul are great, but Amaya is the BEST! She is very creative and makes different delicious drinks to suit my appetite. She also pours the best Guinness!

Historic Henry Covered Bridge

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Bridges
I love covered bridges so there are 3 of them close together in VT. Silk, Henry and Paper Mill.
Lorraine B — Google review
Another gorgeous covered span over the Waloomsac River. This Town Lattice Truss bridge is welll-maintained and beautiful thanks to a state, county, and town that care. This beauty was built in 1840 and features open eaves that display her close-angle lattice timber work. She does, however, lack the 'car wash' rails like several of her sister bridges possess and is therefore more likely to be damaged by careless motorists. Covered bridges aren't EZ Pass plazas. Anyone operating a motor vehicle through one faster than a 'horse's trot' needs a boot to the neck. I can't count how many times I've nearly been clipped by some knucklehead pushing rally speeds through a covered bridge while I was in or near it. Just slow down and enjoy your nice things. Good grief.
Shelly — Google review
One of the scenic bridges of New England. Just like you see in the calendars. This bridge isn’t the original but a rebuilt bridge but still looks charming.
S J — Google review
Really pretty bridge. I imagine in the fall it's even better. There is a nice little park next to it that you can walk around and look at flowers. There is a short path down to the creek where you get a good side view of the bridge!

This was an absolute gem to find. It has a small parking area right next to it allowing for viewing and photos from the side over the creek. We visited in the winter time, but I imagine the spring and fall is absolutely stunning.

Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC)

Concerts & Shows
Saratoga Performing Arts Center, located in Saratoga Springs, New York, is a renowned venue for a variety of performances and events. With a capacity for 20,000 spectators, it hosts rock concerts, ballets, and family events in its sunken theater and adjacent lawn. The center's mission is to promote appreciation and love for the performing arts among its members and the community.
I’ve been to SPAC three times in the past three years. The first time was for Larkin Poe at the Outlaw Music Festival. As fans of Larkin Poe my wife saw that they were playing at SPAC which was a place we wanted to see. We purchased the tickets from Larkin Poe website and didn’t know they were just one of many bands playing for the Willie Nelson Outlaw Music Festival. It was a great concert. We had seats in the lower area which are great as you can get up and walk around and know you still have a place to sit when you get back. The next two times at SPAC was for Dave Mathews Band. These were with friends who have seen Dave Mathews many times. We had lawn tickets both times. The sound was fine and the large displays let you see everything. Being so far away from the stage I never know if I should look at the band or the displays. It has more of that festival party feel. My next time there I hope to get seats again in the Amphitheater. If you are sitting on the lawn, it’s worth bringing a small blanket which gives you your own space but you need to arrive early so you get a place with a good view. You need to read the rules. You are only to take in “clear plastic, vinyl or PVC tote bags no larger than 12” x 6” x 12” and/or small clutches, wristlets, or fanny packs that are not clear (6”x 9”).” You can bring water bottles that you can fill up there. Your phone is also used as your ticket to get into SPAC. There are lots of options for food and drinks. As expected everything is expensive. It’s a Cashless Payment venue. Most people pay with their phones but credit cards also work. We also go to Saratoga Spa State Park (2,400-acre) to hike. I like when we make a full day out of a concert. Arriving early to take a hike and then do a little tailgating. Alcohol is not allowed in the parking lots but doesn’t seem to be enforced (lucky for us).
Bill L — Google review
Saw Weird Al with my family and had the best time. As far as the venue goes, as you can see in other comments here and on other sites, the experience at SPAC is on the down slide. People are forced to rent lawn chairs. The food and drink are outrageously priced. The bathroom situation wasn't bad. There were plenty of stalls in the men's room, and it was very clean. The biggest fault I experienced was returning to my seat in section 6. When I first arrived, the girl at the bottom of the ramp to the balcony told us to go down to the lower ramp on the extreme right. Fine. There were no lines. When I went left just before the show started and came back the line at the entrance I went in was obscenely long so I went to the girl t the balcony ramp and told her the line was very long. She said it was OK to use her ramp, just use the stairs to go down to my section, no big deal. We'll the older lady at the top of the ramp sniffed and said girl shouldn't be letting people up there. In my opinion, if the lines are getting long to get to one section, let people use the other entrance ramps to get into the amphitheater. Otherwise, it was a great experience.
Archangel L — Google review
SPAC is fantastic. I've been attending shows there for almost 45 years and it never ceases to amaze me how beautiful the sound is. There are limitations, such as the lawn is usually more dirt than grass, and the rules for food and drinks and chairs are quite strict (seems to be all about money, not safety). That being said, it is very well run, in a pristine state park and fully designed for the best sound outdoor ampatheater can provide. 5 ⭐✨⭐✨⭐
Kevin B — Google review
Lawn seats with chair rental: the slope is sufficient to see the stage without making you feel like you're going to roll down. Plenty of points to meet up with friends and family if needed. Large screens cycle through the performers along the outside of the seating area so you get a decent view of the action onstage. It is a cashless venue, so cards might be your best bet, with digital pay options available. Concessions are ample and reasonably efficient, but attendance will be the deciding factor. Bathrooms are centrally located. Keep an eye on the weather and plan accordingly, and, as always, read all restrictions to plan your outing accordingly.
Bryan T — Google review
Great venue to see concert!! You can pay for seat in the bowl or pay less to sit on lawn. Lawn seats is a nice experience to listen to your favorite artist , may not see them though
Leon J — Google review
Have actually been to 2 concerts this summer. My friends and I saw the dave matthews band and then Little Big Town.. we had lawn seats for dave matthews.. which was fine.. as it was warm, no precipitation. It was really busy.. we stood on an incline but we danced lots so it was great...super expensive alcholic beverages but .. that was expected. We had balcony seats for the other concert.. which was a good thing as well as it was a bit chilly and intermittently drizzling . Sound and visuals really good. We are actually going to a third concert this weekend. We are seeing Melissa Etheridge and the Indigo girls. I hadnt been to SPAC in too many years to remember but I love it and would have gone to every concert if possible. All peeps working venue also great from security to the gals serving drinks.. Only negatives.. obviously takes a long time to leave parking area and... people that litter.. uggh
Kristin C — Google review
Not the best venue to see a concert at. Lawn seating is outside the actual concert hall, and tickets will give you the opportunity to sit on bark mulch and watch LED screens of the concert you paid to see, happening inside the concert structure. People hanging out in the parking lot had a better experience for only $10. This type of ticket sales for "lawn" seating should be illegal. To reiterate: Lawn Tickets have no view of the stage inside the concert hall. Avoid this type of seating.
Eric A — Google review
Just attended the Glass Animals show at SPAC and loved it! We had very short lines for concessions, bathrooms had little to no waits, loved the wide open feel you had being able to walk around and not be in an enclosed crowded space. Probably one of the best venues I’ve been to overall. We sat in section 8 in the pavilion which was excellent.

Saratoga Spa State Park is a historic landmark offering a blend of art, culture, and recreational activities. Visitors can delve into the city's slogan 'Health, History, Horses' and learn about its famous beverage. The park also provides insights into the city's history and thoroughbred racing at the Saratoga Race Course. Additionally, visitors can enjoy a fun scavenger hunt with rewards for those who complete it successfully.
One of our favorites places on Earth! The grounds are so spacious and well groomed! If you are in Saratoga, you really should at the very least drive through the park. Bring a chair .. take a nap under a tree, there is plenty of room. You can bring your dog and let him run free. This park is well known for its mineral baths, so if you are inclined to enjoy a bath in evervescent water (by appointment only), this is the place!

2025 - Making my second trip over, there was some modifications being made for example parking wise. Stayed in the General Admission Price guideline. Everyone did a great job from Spector and Staff/Security wise. 2024 - The Second Home of the Belmont Stakes. First time seeing a primetime event at General Admission Price wise. Smart move being my first time attending the event. This is a first to some of us, I thought spectators plus Staff and Security handle everything great! Prior to COVID Great Aunt took me here and we had a great time!

Absolutely love this racetrack! You can bring your own food and drink and there are tons of picnic tables to sit on and enjoy the day! There is not a whole lot to choose from if you don't bring food and the prices are high so your best bet is to pack the picnic lunch! Parking runs about $30 and there is plenty available. Overall a great day for family fun!

The environment is perfect for hanging out or simply enjoying the surroundings. On top of that, there are many ducks around, adding to the charm. Since we went after 6 p.m., we unfortunately didn’t get the chance to ride the carousel.Although we faced a lot of hassle with car parking at the beginning, the park’s charming atmosphere completely made us forget that struggle.

The park is falling into disrepair. Many rides were closed when we visited at the end of July (the height of the season, everything should be working). Some of the rides and decorations are clearly getting the minimal amount of upkeep. Paint is flaking badly on the bottom of the pools and they should’ve been stripped and repainted long ago. The decorative lights on many of the rides weren’t working at all. The layers of dust and grime make the rides look pretty shabby. They’re painting the old story town stuff to make it look nice, but I don’t think anyone really cares about that. I think the word has gotten out to the rest of the public too. Lines for the rides were short, which helped offset our general disappointment with the place. It was still a fun day with the kids, but we’ve decided that we’re probably not going back again. There are better amusement parks that only require a slightly longer drive. There are tons of better water parks. The prices have gotten so high that this is no longer a good entertainment value.
Eric G — Google review
Great just please clean the pools. I had a ton of band-aides coming flying with the waves in the wave pool. Also hair . I love the wave pool please keep it clean 😊 prices could go down with the food , also shouldn’t have to wait 4 hours between meals with the passes ! Please have life guard on duty at the bottom of the kids water slide near the wave pool. We do love the atmosphere & all the attractions for the littles especially with timber town and the water park is our absolute favorite for the kiddos ! Hot tub needed for adults 🤣

A great place for families. A little pricey but that's the world these days, the reusable cups are definitely worth the buy. The water park is the best part. Bathrooms were as clean as they could be with so many people in and out of them, maybe they should hire a few more maintenance people. Otherwise a pretty good time and Martha's is right across the street!
Brianna P — Google review
Other than more than a few rides being closed for maintenance, it was a good time. The bees are horrible at the drink and food stands though. My partner got stung so if you have a bee allergy stay away from sugary drinks and bring your own food.

We attended on a day of fright fest. Several rides weren't open which was disappointing. As I watched the change over to fright fest I was disappointed. I was surprised to see characters walk up behind people, especially smaller children and just scream. I've been coming to the Great Escape for decades and have never witnessed this before during fright fest. I didn't find this behavior scary or frightening, it was annoying and somewhat cruel, which isn't what fright fest is about. I will say some of the costumes and makeup were outstanding.
Betzy K — Google review
Really went downhill quick this year. Many of the popular rides have been out of service (seemingly) for much of the season and the workers are very unpleasant. I will not be renewing my family's season tickets for 2026 as I'm being asked to pay full price for a 1/3 to 2/3 of this theme park with zero refunds or perks.

Had to go to 4 different places to get my sodas and then on top of it my mom had fallen and nobody did anything. Woman running ride didn't come over to check and ride almost hit my mom in the face. Oh and then there's the fact that their response was to "increase training" no mention of what they could do to fix it for us. I highly discourage you from going if you're disable as they won't do anything to help you if you get hurt in any way

Fort William Henry Museum, originally constructed in 1755, is a legendary British fort that played a significant role in the French and Indian War. The museum offers two tour options: a general history tour where visitors can learn about the area's history and interact with costumed reenactors, and a ghost tour featuring spooky sights and stories of supernatural encounters.
It was a great recreation of the original fort. It has a lot of great exhibits. Living historians there to give you demonstrations and information. Very great detail throughout the entire fort. Explaining living conditions, hospital care, and the different jobs others would complete throughout their time there.
Ryan J — Google review
Drop into and experience 1755. The Tour Guides are very knowledgeable and have a good wit. For accessibility there are some areas that are difficult to traverse and some buildings that have stairs only access. I did not feel as though I missed out on anything during my visit. They do have a staff operated outdoor elevator so those in wheelchairs can access the fort walls. You're ticket is good for 2 days so you have plenty of time to explore.

I could not find one thing to say wrong about this place. We learned so much as well. Also if you are a fan of the last of the mohcans you would also be a fan of this stop on you trip to the lake or village.

If you enjoy American History and/or the story (&movie), Last of the Mohegans, put this on your To Do list. Our guide was engaging and fun. He and his Captain were very informative. This is the fort from the book/movie. Purely historical. No elevators. When we went, the buildings were so hot. (No ac in 1755).

Prospect Mountain, a beloved landmark in the Lake George region, offers stunning panoramic views of the area. Whether you choose to hike or drive up the mountain, you'll be treated to breathtaking scenery along Veterans Memorial Highway. The 3-mile steep climb is rewarded with picture-perfect vistas and a glimpse of the historic Prospect Mountain Cable Incline Railway. Families may prefer the easier Black Mountain trail nearby. Plus, seniors with valid New York State identification can enjoy free vehicle access on weekdays.
You honestly can’t beat the view from Prospect Mountain- absolutely breathtaking. It’s the kind of place that makes you pause and just take it all in. Feels so raw, untouched, and peaceful. Whether you hike or drive up, the reward at the top is the same: pure beauty. A must-visit if you’re in the area!

It was a sudden decision to go on a trip to Lake George, but before that, we thought of visiting Prospect Mountain. With that instant decision, the journey began. It was a fairly long drive, and as we drove up the mountain, the beauty of the hills kept captivating us more and more. Surrounded by enchanting scenery, the higher we climbed the towering mountain, the stronger the feeling of joy became. On that sunny afternoon, looking down at the lake from such a height felt truly magical. The speedboats gliding across the water looked like white swans, and the interplay of sunlight and clouds created a fascinating dance of light and shadow. It felt as though we were wandering in some fairytale kingdom. If possible, I would have loved to stay there the entire day, immersed in that breathtaking beauty.

Breathing taking view of beautiful lake George and Adirondack mountain ranges. It’s one of the best places to visit fall colors too. You can hike upto the summit and it’s accessible via car too. There is no parking at the summit, it’s just a pick up and drop off point. However, the parking lot is 10 mins hike , but it’s a steep slope, won’t advise for someone with knee issues. There are benches and shed at top for a good picnic. A must visit place if you are visiting Lake George.
Pratik B — Google review
The view is beautiful, worth the time. The trail is 2-3 miles long but there is a road for people that simply don't want to take the trail route. There are 4 overlooks for cars and a parking on the fourth included on entrance (10$). There when you park it is clear where to go to the fifth outlook easily being the best one. There are some trees here and there blocking the view but there are easy go arounds for that making it a must see attraction when visiting Lake George.

We had a such a nice time at the museum! Exhibits are fascinating, especially their collection of boats, and we enjoyed the waterfront as well. I would definitely recommend to those interested in Vermont history.
Maria G — Google review
We participated in the Shipwreck Tour and enjoyed it. It's always lovely to be out on the lake in a boat, and the archeologist, captain, and tour guide were all knowledgeable and entertaining. I would have liked the tour to start with some facts and figures; a map of all the known shipwrecks, how many are military versus commercial or other, how many are gravesites, how many people were killed in them, that sort of high level quantitative information. Then, going and seeing a few would be more impactful. Well worth the time, though, and definitely recommend!!
Michele W — Google review
This maritime museum provides fascinating insights into what it means to know Lake Champlain. They manage to cover everything from learning about the ecology of the lake, to it incredible impact on American history and the art of boat building. There's plenty here for kids too. We highly recommend this FREE stop! An entire building devoted to vintage canoes and small boats that you must not miss. In addition, this museum has it's own lakefront activity center and they offer frequent excursions. At present, there is a temporary art exhibit which showcases the art of the local native peoples and the impact of COVID on their life's.

The Lake Champlain Maritime Museum in Vergennes, Vermont, is a must-visit for history enthusiasts and families, offering free admission to its 3-acre lakeside campus, founded in 1985. The engaging exhibits 'dive' into the lake’s Revolutionary War history, shipwrecks, and ecology, featuring replicas like the 1776 gunboat Philadelphia and the canal schooner Lois McClure. Hands-on demos in boat-building, rowing, and underwater archaeology make it fun and educational, though some displays could be more interactive. Staff member Lisa was exceptionally helpful, providing insightful guidance and enhancing the experience. Same for Matt with regards to the 4pm dinghy sailing days.
Sir S — Google review
Shipwreck Tours are offered weekly during the summer using remote sensing to view famous wrecks in Lake Champlain. If you didn’t know there were so many wrecks in the lake, this is a great opportunity to see firsthand some examples of past shipping disasters. The museum offers actual-scale restorations of various kinds of vessels used for recreation, commerce, and war over the long history of shipping on Lake Champlain.

High Falls Gorge is a 22-acre nature park known for its waterfalls, hiking trails, and glass-floor walkways. It's considered one of the best things to do in the Adirondacks and offers a breathtaking 30-minute walk. The easy 1-mile loop trail is stroller and wheelchair-friendly, featuring steel bridges and glass walkways with four magnificent waterfalls cascading into the Ausable River.
Very enjoyable activity. It can be done in one hour if you only want to see the gorge and the falls. Entry to the site also gives access to some hiking trails, which we did not take advantage of during this visit. The trails along the gorge are easily walkable if you have no issues with stairs. The views of the falls and the gorge from the walkways and viewing platforms are beautiful. The walkways hanging on the edge of the gorge and the views is what makes this visit worthwhile in my opinion. Everything was clean and very well maintained. I really enjoyed my visit.
JF P — Google review
Beautifully kept private property, though the ticket price is a bit steep. Booking online saved 10%. We visited on Labour Day weekend (Sunday) and the parking lot was still empty at 9:15 a.m. The walk through the gorge takes about 1-1.5 hours—just enough to enjoy the vibe. The highlight was the clear, gushing water surrounded by lush forest, making the whole place feel peaceful and refreshing
A H — Google review
The waterfalls are breathtaking, and the trails are beautifully maintained with safe walkways, bridges, and railings that make it easy to enjoy the views up close. The short hike is very family-friendly, but at the same time it feels like a real adventure — walking right above the rushing water and through the gorge. Tickets can be purchased online, and when you arrive you simply exchange your online ticket for a pass, which is super convenient. Staff is welcoming and the whole area is clean and well-organized. A perfect spot to enjoy nature, take photos, and relax! I can recommend stopping by if you’re in the Adirondacks!
Kristina K — Google review
Great nature walk with cool water features. Very accessible for people of all ages and abilities. Wasn't too heavily trafficked, but I can imagine the path getting overcrowded at peak times. I recommend adding on the hike in addition to the scenic water overlook. Gets you more bang for your buck given that it's a paid entry.
Connor R — Google review
Don’t listen to the negative reviews. This is a family run place so it has to be more pricey. The views were gorgeous and the staff inside was all so nice and helpful. My boyfriend and I drove from Missouri and I am so happy we stopped here! Also their coffee is SO good!

It was a kce place to do some family hiking. We went in falk and it looked beautiful. Falls were awesome. They have a big gift shop and a small restaurant. Parking closes at 4.15 so be sure to be out by then. Tickets were a little pricey though.
Mohit G — Google review
You can spend 3-4 hours with your family here. The 3 falls are good experience to watch. The trail on the gorge seemed new, well protected with railings, so its safe for kids as well. The one mile Trail in the Woods is good, can be done with small kids as well. Usually there is some discount if you buy tickets online. So check their website before buying tickets at the Counter.
Varun M — Google review
The area features three trails—two nature walks (heads up can be muddy especially after a rain spell) and one that leads through the falls, offering a magnificent view. Although each trail is recommended to take about 30 minutes, we were able to complete most of them well ahead of time. In terms of difficulty, the falls trail and one of the nature walks were moderately challenging, while the second nature trail proved to be a bit more demanding. A unique and delightful feature: all the kids in our group received scavenger hunt sheets, which made the experience more engaging for them. They happily walked the entire trail in search of clues—motivated by the promise of a surprise gift at the end!

Whiteface Mountain is a renowned alpine destination offering winter sports activities and scenic driving and hiking routes to the summit. The Cobble Lookout trail, located near the tollgate on Whiteface Veterans Memorial Highway, meanders through Wilmington Wild Forest and leads to a rocky ledge with breathtaking views of Esther, Whiteface Mountain, the Ausable River Valley, and the Adirondack 46 High Peaks. Visitors can enjoy snowshoeing along this popular trail during winter.
Great visit on the last Monday of June. We drove to the top. I took advantage of the discounted toll for veterans. We went at approximately 10 a.m. and there was plenty of parking available. The views are magnificient on the drive up and on the top. The hike from the parking lot at the top to the summit is fun. There is also an elevator from the parking lot to the summit for people with limited mobility, or for anyone not willing to hike. It is worth visiting the tunnel to the elevator even if you're not using it. There are plenty of spots to stop on the side of the road on your way up or down to enjoy the view, some with picnic tables. We stopped on our way down, took our camping chairs out and had a picnic with an incredible view. I really enjoyed this visit and would go back.
JF P — Google review
When we first got to the toll booth, we saw visibility was 0 miles. Waited a half hour and decided to try again and it was totally clear! $45 for 2 of us to get up in the car, we took the elevator up and climbed the stairs down. Chilly at the summit so dress with layers. A few scenic pulloffs on the way up. Gift shop, restaurant, and bathrooms at the top. Beautiful views!

Breathtaking views, not overcrowded. Amazing hiking trails. Please bring your insect repellent as when we visit on September 16th it had a lot of insects flying everywhere that we have never seen before. HAVE TO WEAR PROPER SHOES!

We had a fantastic time visiting during fall peak season! We drove to the top and arrived around 10 a.m., finding ample parking available. The scenic drive up was stunning, with breathtaking views at every turn. The hike from the parking lot to the summit was enjoyable, but we appreciated knowing that an elevator was available for those who need it. The tunnel to the elevator is worth exploring, even if you don't plan to use it. We loved stopping at the scenic overlooks along the way, and our picnic on the way down was the perfect way to cap off the visit. The elevator ride to the top of the mountain offers spectacular 360-degree views. With clear weather, the views were simply incredible. Only con I would say is the tickets were pricey. It was $45 for 2 people.
Mohit G — Google review
Whiteface Mountain is absolutely breathtaking! The views from the top are stunning and totally worth the trip. The ascent is very safe — the path is fully lined with railings, making it easy to hold on while enjoying the scenery. The entrance fee is $25 per car and driver, plus $20 per passenger. After passing the toll, you drive up to the upper parking lot, and from there it’s a short, 25–30 minute hike to the summit. Highly recommend for anyone who loves nature and spectacular mountain views!
Kristina K — Google review
Took us 8.5 hours with breaks. Be aware that it is very easy to lose the trail and you need to be careful to stay on it despite the lack of signs. The views are amazing and the area is beautiful.
Sam M — Google review
We went on a quick roadtrip here it cost us 25$ for the first person, second was 15$,third 10$ for the entrance then we drove up the hill it was very scenic and you can make stops to take pictures or just to enjoy the view. Once at the top you have the option to walk up the natural rocky trail to get to the peak or you can catch the elevator down the tunnel and it brings you up faster Free of charge! There is a castle also with a gift shop and a little food shop and with bathrooms ! The peak was amazing and breathtaking very picturesque views!!
Mr. A — Google review
The views were spectacular. Took a star off due to the steep toll, $25 per driver +$20 per additional adult, kids over the age of 7 also have a fee, though I don’t know what it is. We should’ve hiked 😂. Also, around peak foliage, arrive early. There are limited parking spots at the top, and there can be long lines just to park.

The Shelburne Museum is a treasure trove of American folk and decorative art, boasting a vast collection of over 100,000 items. Set on a 45-acre campus with 38 exhibition buildings, including historic structures like the round barn from the early 1900s and the impressive Ticonderoga steamboat, this museum offers an immersive journey through Americana.
Absolutely blast! Beautiful walk and we had great weather. The kids loved the boat and the old school house. Everything was really cool, especially the circus. I loved that you pay once and then everything is included, even the carousel! Will definitely recommend this one!
Justin B — Google review
Fascinating place to learn about American history. They transported entire buildings here in addition to artifacts in what feels like its own small town. Be aware that there is A LOT of walking here, but they do have shuttles if necessary. Regardless, wear comfortable sneakers. There is something for everyone here. Our kids (6,8 years old) loved the circus museum, the round barn full of old cars, the steamboat, and the school house. I loved all of the former along with the log cabin full of taxidermy big game, the lighthouse, the Wyeth and Grandma Moses paintings in the mansion. We were here for five hours and didn’t get to see everything. Could easily do two days here and split some time between the museum and Shelburne Farms. It’s a must see if you’re in Vermont, and many of the locals also recommended it. Bonus points for Fiddlehead Brewery being located right across the street, and beautiful surrounding views. Absolutely love it here.

Very interesting and diverse museum! Something there for everyone, art, history, carousel, large machinery, to delicate and massive small statue carvings. Probably one of the most unique collections we have visited. Plan a full day at least for your visit. (There's a very good snack and sandwich bar on the grounds run by a catering service that takes pride in the food they prepare.) They also give you a second day if needed.

I was genuinely blown away with how intense this museum was. Though I am not a huge fan of museums, I did thoroughly enjoy roaming around the exhibits, though my dad had the most incredible time ever. This is a good all day, nice weather activity. I like the fact that most stuff is outside. I don't have much insight on the specific exhibits, but I did really enjoy the toy store exhibit.

Huge museum and grounds. Can’t be done in one day luckily the ticket is good for two days. We only had one day so just hit the historic parts. Didn’t have thime for the art portion. The circus carvings were just amazing. Just so much to see at that one building. RR building and station in great condition. Wish we could go back. Highly recommend.

We had an excellent time at the Shelburne Museum. We originally thought a couple of hours would be enough, but we ended up spending about four hours, including lunch at the café. The exhibits were both interesting and fun, offering a great way to learn about history. There were also plenty of opportunities for photography. Highly recommended!
Mark S — Google review
Amazing opportunity to take a walk back in time. Authentic buildings and artifacts that were moved to the museum so you are walking in an actual piece of history. Friendly staff and a shuttle service for those that do not want to make the walk or need a little help. The walk is a good one! We spent 4 hours touring the grounds. Decent restaurant that serves basic lunch, snack, ice cream and beverages. A couple of gift shops and several rest room facilities throughout the grounds. 100% worth the trip just plan on some walking and plan about 4-5 hours to really see it all.

Shelburne Farms, established in the 1880s as a private estate, has evolved into a charming working farm and non-profit organization. Spanning 1,400 acres, it offers more than just picturesque landscapes. Visitors can engage in educational workshops and witness farm-to-table practices with its dairy farm, award-winning cheese production, and organic market garden. The bakery on-site fills the air with the delightful scent of freshly baked bread and pastries.
A favorite place to visit for quiet walking and taking photos. Great views of the lake. I go every June to enjoy the peony and rose garden. Grateful that the grounds are open to the public. Wish I could afford a night at the inn. Its fantastic.

Totally worth a visit!! You can purchase tours (book ahead because they do get sold out) or do your own thing for free! Dress appropriately to take the trails to the water! We unfortunately didn't have the time to walk there but the pictures looked amazing! There is a free shuttle that takes you to the barn (unfortunately not to the water tho) which is also a short hike if you would rather walk. It was so fun and interesting to learn about their cheddar making process with a glass wall that allows you to watch the cheese makers during the day and interactive activities for both adults and kids. The animals are adorable and friendly and there are daily farm demonstrations throughout the day where you can meet an animal or get some insight on wool collection or cheese making. The bakery has fresh bread, there's a cafe where you can get lunch and there's plenty of outdoor seating around the super gorgeous restored barn building. Definitely plan to spend at least a half day walking the grounds, learning about animals, cheese and trees.

We took the Sun to Cheese Tour. Such a fun experience! We were pulled on a wooden wagon by a farm truck and it took us all over the beautiful property to view the fabulous buildings, including Vanderbilt’s former mansion! We also got to see the cows up close, learn how they’re milked, and then taste some amazing cheeses made right on the farm. Super friendly guides, delicious samples, and a really cool look at the process from start to finish. Highly recommend!

This was the highlight of our Vermont trip! While I recommend the 90 minute tour if you have limited time or if you have little ones, the walk through the property was one of my favorite hikes ever! We saw farm animals, the barn was gorgeous, the Inn was stunning, and the views of the lake were some of my favorite water views ever. Highly recommend!!

Overall this was a great path to go for a ride on. Was decently flat with some small hills but nothing serious. Some beautiful views of the lake and wildlife that we wouldn’t have been able to see otherwise. Parts of it are dirt/gravel that gets muddy, so I’d recommend wearing appropriate clothing and a hybrid/mountain bike. Most of the trail is on road though

This is a great bike path along the waterfront of Lake Champlain. Would have rated it higher except there’s a very homeless encampment right along the path. This is very disappointing as the bike path is frequented by so many families with small children. This entire city is a shell of its former self. Crime, homelessness, drugs, and businesses closing up. What a shame the current city government has ruined this gem of a place.

Church Street Marketplace is a charming outdoor pedestrian mall located in Burlington, offering a delightful mix of local shops, dining options, and entertainment venues within its historic architecture. The marketplace spans four blocks and is closed to vehicle traffic, creating a vibrant atmosphere reminiscent of European outdoor markets. Originally inspired by Copenhagen's car-less design, the marketplace has expanded over the years to become a bustling hub for retail therapy.
Walking upon the historic brick expanse of the Church Street Marketplace, you are immersed in a vibrant summer tapestry of live music and street performance. A convergence of youthful energy and timeless elegance. The air is filled with the harmonious sounds of the season. This environment is a testament to the dynamic and evolving nature of human culture. My wife and I visited Church Street Marketplace while we were in Burlington. Thought the concept was nice, and there were definitely plenty of shops and eateries. There was also live performances when we were there. It's a nice walk, and you can definitely spend a couple of hours there easily. Some of the surrounding area is not necessarily in the best shape, but I think that is true with most downtown areas.

I love church street! The vibe, people, and atmosphere are all welcoming, and friendly! I live in NY but have visited church street for shopping, tattoos, food, and this time a piercing at The Prik! Church Street is dog friendly! There are no vehicles, or parking right on church street... But their are multiple parking garages. If you are handicap, and show your tag, parking is free. We went on Labor Day this last visit, and parking was free for everyone in the parking garages for the holiday! A great place to spend the day!

This is the most touristy spot in Burlington. It’s a walkway pavement that spans over five to six blocks, with excellent options for dining and shopping. Alongside some of the popular restaurants, they also have iconic Vermont brand stores like Vermont Bear Factory, Vermont Flannel Shop and Ben & Jerry. We also visited a Patagonia store, a bookstore, Catamount store for apparel and gifts, and bunch of other stores. Prices are decent, some stores have sales and discounts. It appeared decently safe, though there were some homeless people around the marketplace. The street parkings need to be paid with ParkMobile app during the posted hours. There are several hotels only few minutes walk from this place. There’s also a parking lot nearby that offers 2 hours of free parking.

This place is a must visit. Such an awe- inspiring work of nature at its best. The sound of water, the way the nature has carved the stones will last in your memory for a long time. You have various packages to choose from depending on your interest and your group range. You can do trials, river walk, adventure walk, rafting, tubing. Be sure to check the age and height of kids while purchasing the tickets. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The guides are so knowledgeable. They answer all your questions and give suggestions on what more you can see in the neighborhood. You will definitely enjoy all of the activities here. The Rafting and tubing are good for kids and adults who would prefer light ones and not rapids. The shuttle runs frequently and has multiple drop you off locations. The parking is big. Overall you will never regret this trip.

This is a very magical place. It’s been on my list for a while but I was skeptical because of its status at a tourist destination. I was not disappointed! Well worth the entrance fee and plenty to do. Amazing hiking and picture taking opportunities everywhere! We hiked around the entire rim and it was fun and exciting each step of the way. There are rafting and ropes/climbing opportunities that we didn’t partake in, but they looked like a blast. This place is a wonderland and I’d definitely return for more if it’s enjoyment. If you’re in the fence, go for it! You won’t regret being immersed in this natural wonder.

Ausable Chasm was on the list to visit while in the Adirondacks and it did not disappoint. It was truly a fun and extraordinary place to visit. From hiking the scenic trails along the sandstone walls to floating down the river between the cliffs, every part of the experience was incredible. The views are breathtaking and the combination of adventure and natural beauty makes it unforgettable. Whether you’re looking for an easy walk, a more adventurous hike, or tubing through the gorge, Ausable Chasm has something for everyone. Definitely a place to check out if you’re in the area.

This was the perfect long weekend get away. The fall was a wonderful time to go. The water levels were low but still beautiful. While there the trees changed colors, the sun was shining and a gorgeous mid 60s day. It's worth the extra cost to pay for the boat and river walk. The staff were great, fun, and informative. It made for an awesome birthday weekend. Our family will go again sometime and highly recommend it.

Ausable Chasm was an extraordinary experience—we really loved it! We were hoping to go tubing, but the water level was too low the day we went, so we couldn’t. Instead, we did the rafting. It was a small, simple ride because of the low water, but still enjoyable. What made the trip amazing were the hikes—we walked the trails, and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. I totally recommend visiting. It was such a lovely and memorable place to see.

After moving to the Adirondack area several months ago, the Ausable Chasm was definitely on my bucket list. My daughter came over from Rochester, and we drove up to the park. We left Jasper at home as this park is not dog friendly, and once you are on the trails you will see why. We did have a little bit of a wait to buy our tickets, but the website warned of the wait if we went during that time period. Everyone was super nice and helpful. We hiked the trail, which offered many beautiful views including waterfall, canyons, and many rapids. Definitely stop by the Elephant Face rock formation. It was really cool. Anyway, we followed the trail to the raft, where we waited about 30 min (again, website forwarded of a wait time during certain hours so we were prepared). We boarded the raft, went through the chasm and she rapids, and ended the hike by taking the trolley back. If I had to do it over again I would have hiked back. The canyons were very cool with a nice breeze. I thoroughly enjoyed the views and the atmosphere. The gift shop was nice as well. I think this is a must do for any Adirondack trip!

This is a beautiful summer outing with float trips available as well as a heart fluttering ropes course traversing the chasm. For those who enjoy their feet planted solidly on the ground, there are also lovely walking trails. If you want a free experience take a walk outside to see Rainbow Falls and the hydro dam, or up on the bridge for breath taking views.

Plattsburgh City Beach

City park
Nature & Parks
Beaches
Freshwater beach offering seasonal swimming areas & a nature trail, plus picnic tables & a dog park.
Lovely real sand beach! Cleanest bathrooms, picnic tables and grills, snacks, lifeguards... Can't go wrong.
Jasmine A — Google review
This lovely beach is on Lake Champlain and is a full park complete with paid parking. I don't know how strictly they enforce it so be sure to use the app to pay (or display your permit if you're a Plattsburgh resident). The beach has a protected area to keep boaters away from the swimmers and it is a smooth sandy beach with a low incline out into the lake. There is also a bathhouse with showers so you don't bring half the beach sand back to your car, a beach bar that sells alcoholic drinks and snacks and a space for food trucks. Late on a Sunday afternoon in July, there were no food trucks. I guess they've moved on. The beach was beautiful and because it faces east over the lake, you'll have good sun all day.

Need a place ground yourself, regroup, find your peace and start over? This is it. Beautiful surroundings, quiet place in the mornings.

Love it here! So peaceful. This is the place to unwind and leave all your problems behind. Beautiful scenery. Nice calm clear water and bonus is it's shallow very far out so perfect for all ages without so much worry. Costs around $13 for a parking pass for the day for non residents or can park in outside lots and walk in. The beach is dog friendly and also has a fenced dog park near the entrance. Picnic areas are very nice and come with the best views. Restrooms and outside showers to wash off the sand after a day at the beach are present. 10/10 would recommend. Will definitely visit again!

Great Family Spot!! Beach is clean, peaceful, and perfect for a family picnic. The water is nice, and the sunset views are beautiful. Great place to relax!

I had a wonderful experience at the city beach. Although this season had wooly seeds flying about which did get into the hair of the head and messed up the water. Overall, it was a fun place to be

Lovely beach spot with plenty of parking and some benches nearby. They even have a firepit. Just note, you won’t catch the sunset from this side of the lake.

Awesome trails, very quiet, and everyone around is civil. The beach is amazing, and the trails that go around the beach area are terrific. they are old trails that were paved a long time ago but awesome. Would totally recommend it! Long point is beautiful, same with short point!

I visited in October, so it was not very busy at all. I went for a short, quiet walk down to the water. It was very peaceful. It was lovely just sitting there, looking at the beautiful colors on the trees & out across Lake Champlain. I left some Kindness Rocks at a couple of the trail heads and on a few of the MANY picnic tables available for use. I had a limited amount of time to spend at the park. I was unable to take advantage of the many trails, so I could not speak about those. Hopefully, if I have the opportunity to visit again, I will have the time to explore.
KC T — Google review
Always a nice day on the trails and a great place to run trail or roads (nature center to boat launch/beach). A few hidden in plain site areas for birding Would be better if the horse owners would clean up the manure left on the trails amd a investment/improvement around the nature center would be great. Updating the native plantings would be perfect. The excessive speed on the road in to the nature center is out of control at times.

10/10 trails and park! Stopped here on my way back from Montréal headed down to MA, because I wanted to get another bark ranger bandana for my guy! The rangers were super nice and friendly. I ended up spending about an hour here and it set back the rest of my drive home but it was well worth it! Trails are well marked.

This lovely park is located just north of Plattsburgh along the shores of Lake Champlain. I was here to try to see the lighthouse, but it is not accessible during the greener months. It is on private property and could normally only be seen through the trees when they're bare. Not today in mid-July. So now that I'm enjoying the park, let's check out this. A very pretty sandy beach that has floats out to mark off the swimming area from boaters. Picnic tables and barbecue grills. Volleyball, softball and the like. And it's all free.

Lovely fall walk out to Long Point. The trails are well maintained and provide a beautiful canopy of color. Views are wonderful, the walk is easy and it is so relaxing. Equally as fun in the summer to hike our to take out a kayak or SUP in the wind-protected bay... great for beginners and for families. Great for dogs, kids, families, and seniors with easy access.

Went for a mini trail walk. Met some unleashed dogs along the way. They were very friendly, albeit wet, and their owners were nearby. I was pleased to see that not all trails were covered in ice, but they were still quite muddy so make sure to bring adequate footwear (we went late November). Never knew a beach could be nice in the winter, a pleasant surprise.
Lidi D — Google review
We came here on a family trip to the Adirondacks and were so happy with our visit. The park was almost empty when we visited. There was ample parking, picnic tables where we ate lunch, a playground, a beach, and tons of places to hike through the park. We hiked along the P Walker and Long Point trails to Rocky Point and back and had a wonderful time. There’s a boat launch too and it made me really want a boat someday to bring back here. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend a June afternoon.

14th Star Brewing Co.

Brewery
Food & Drink
Went early for lunch and a drink and decided to stop here and so glad we did! Bartender was super friendly and helpful and suggested great things for us to do in Vermont while we were visiting out of time. They had a special going on for one of the beers (4 for $10) and we got it. He let us have a sample before buying. If you want food, you’ll order in the front at the Grazers counter. They have a variety of burgers, sandwiches and sides to choose from. Food takes a while to come out, but everything was very tasty. If you get the hot honey chicken sandwich, be prepared with lots of napkins; it’s a messy sandwich, but worth it. I didn’t catch the bartenders name, but he was a gentleman with a beard and thanks again for the recommendations!

You put your beer or cider, order in at the bar which is fine. You put your food order in at a different counter but they bring it out to you The beer I had, Valor I believe, was excellent. The food from the Black Radish, was also also quite good. Since it wasn't very busy the food came fast. It was pretty quiet noise wise also.

We were in the area yesterday afternoon and noticed 14th Star Brewing Co as we were driving by. It was right around beer o'clock, and we were getting thirsty, so we decided to stop in. What a great choice that was! The bartenders were very welcoming and friendly, the beer was delicious, and there happened to be a band playing that afternoon! All things we both love!!!! We will definitely be returning😊

My cousin suggested this place so we could meet up while in town. It did not disappoint! It wasn’t until we left that we found out it’s a Veteran owned business. We are Veterans too and always try to support but it was an even better surprise finding out after we left. Great job! This will sound weird but the Caesar Salad was especially good. I’m used to lack of flavor. This one was full of flavor. Hubby had the buffalo wings and he was extremely happy! Loved the decor and the atmosphere. I do have a bad hip and so does my Aunt so I would like to suggest cushions on the benches. Otherwise, this would be a regular place for us if we were closer. We will come back when we’re in town again!

Great bar and drinks with a decent food menu - although operated independently so the service depends on how busy they are. We went on a slow day so had decent service.
Mandy L — Google review
A great tap room with lots of room, a small stage for live performances such as bands or trivia, and an outside covered area for drinking and eating. Beer is consistently good. Clean taps, fresh beer, and limited runs are offered in cans in the tap room in addition to being on tap. A number of non-alcoholic and and cocktail options are also on the menu in addition to beer. The food is provided by a separate entity and had recently changed. However, the quality of the food has remained consistently delicious - offering a variety of burgers, sandwiches and other lunch-type food. Service is quick and kind. The line to order beer at the bar can sometimes be long but this has never been a real issue. There is a mug club with different tiers of membership.

Absolutely an amazing experience. From walking in the door to each part of the meal to the moment we left. The team did a fantastic job caring for our dietary needs and the quality did not suffer. The chef’s standard is very high for each ingredient and product sold. Highly recommend!
Ralph M — Google review
This rating is not about the food or the brewery. Our first time there and it was Trivia night. We had no idea, just heard good things and wanted to try it. We finished our meal and I took the dishes and threw away the waste and then went to the restroom. We still had beer in our glasses and possibly would have stayed for another one. The person running the Trivia earlier had someone grabbing tables as people were moving to the bar. He approached my husband while I was in the bathroom and asked him if he was leaving soon. There was no reason for that. We drank the last of our beer and left.

Parc Safari

Zoo
Nature & Parks
Zoo with many attractions such as an area for viewing animals from cars, a water park & shows.
A very good place to spend family time. Their access is easy. They have good things like face painting, live music, swings and water fun rides. They have good sitting space. Best part is separate pool area for kids under 7. They have 3 pools including kids pool and very good place to spend the entire day. You have a change to see lion, tigers, cheetah and other African animals like zebra, elephants and other African animals. Safari is enjoyable where you can see the animals in the open.
Mudassir K — Google review
Parc Safari is an excellent option for families. The experience of coming into contact with animals is spectacular. You can feed and pet them from your car. Although I didn't go into that area, there is a water park for children. Unfortunately, the lion area was closed.

Having the opportunity to visit the park in Canada on my son's first birthday was a truly memorable experience. It was a wonderful combination of his two favorite things: animals and water. This visit was a great blessing for our son and our entire family. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive to our needs. I wholeheartedly recommend this park to everyone, and I am incredibly grateful to have experienced its true beauty. We were the last ones to depart that day.
Marie A — Google review
It was a nice experience. It is 15% off if you enter after 14h but it closes at 17h. I think is better to visit it during the summer because they have a lot of water play infrastructures. The animals was diverse but not to many (especially the carnivores). I like it as an experience. I recomand it! I uploaded few of the animals, you can see more when you enter by car.
Jullyann C — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) Parc Safari is a nice place to visit and see some animals, but honestly, it is quite pricey for what you get. The experience is fun, especially for families, but I feel the value could be better. I bought our tickets online because I didn’t want to wait in line, and I paid the regular price since I knew we’d be arriving around 12:30. Unfortunately, there was a big accident on the way, and we ended up stuck in traffic for 2 hours. We only arrived around 14:00. Here’s the issue: Parc Safari offers 15% off tickets for customers who arrive after 14:00. Since I had purchased 4 tickets online, I asked if they could refund me the difference (almost $55) because we had less time to enjoy the park and clearly qualified for that discount. But they refused, saying because I purchased online, they couldn’t adjust the price. I don’t think that’s fair at all, considering it wasn’t my fault we arrived later. Also, buying tickets online doesn’t even save you time at the entrance—there’s no special line for online buyers, so you’ll wait either way. My recommendation: never buy your tickets online. If something unexpected happens, you’ll lose money, and you also miss out on possible discounts. The park itself is enjoyable, and we did still have a good time, but because of the price and the unfair ticket policy, I can only give 4 stars.

Fun interesting lots of walking. Animals were just chilling not much action. Sadly some animals were not available and half the water park was not open. Very tiring experience drive from Ottawa and spent entire day there. Still amazing place. Will try again next year.

Not much to do during winter, no animals Just visited it in the end of August, it was +13 and raining but we still saw everything. Really good place to visit with small kids during July-August. They also have waterslides and ice-cream. There is little beach with chairs and slides, tubes and swimming pools. Really nice place. Any malls have big enclosures and look clean and healthy. Volunteer told us about hawk from South America, she was very nice and knowledgeable, thank you. Really good place, looking forward to future visits.

The Canadian Railway Museum, also known as EXPO RAIL, is a captivating destination located in Saint-Constant, Quebec. It offers an impressive permanent exhibition showcasing working engines, cars, historic train-related artifacts, and station replicas. The museum provides a range of engaging activities for visitors of all ages. Children can enjoy the Little Railroaders Car, Model Train Room, and Toddler Zone while everyone can take a ride on the Miniature Railway from March to December.
We had an amazing experience for my little train lover on Friday! For tickets for a family of 4 (2 adults/2 kids) there was a great deal of $37! On the website it will take you to a different site to purchase tickets. We stopped along our journey to the Granby zoo and it was a lovely little stop. It is a bit hidden from the parking lot but there was a gentleman at a tent after the bridge to help direct us to the right place. My son loved every minute of it. The only thing we were a bit put off by was the trolley schedule. It states to be at each location at a set time and it was either early or late each time and it was extremely hot to wait outside for the next train to come. The kids loved the mini train ride and the think the punched cards was a cute touch

Nice place to visit if you're with kids. But the price of an adult ticket is a bit expensive at $24.00 per person. $55.00 for a couple when you include the taxes. Considering that you likely won't spend more than 1.5 hours here, it's not a fairly priced museum. They really should only be charging $10 to $15 for this place. Also you can only climb aboard a select few rail cars...we would have liked to have been able to check out others, but most you can only look through a window to see the interior.

We had an amazing experience at the Expo Rail Museum! The staff and volunteers are incredibly kind and welcoming, making our visit truly special. The highlight was riding on an old train — and also enjoying a little adventure on the small train. Both were such unique and fun experiences! We were lucky to meet a wonderful guide who shared so many fascinating historical facts about trains and Montreal. We honestly felt like VIP guests during our visit. A huge thank-you to all the volunteers and staff who make this museum such a warm and unforgettable place. Highly recommend this museum to anyone — whether you’re a train enthusiast or just looking for a great day out! 🚂✨

Great experience. My first time to go there. Note to the museum: I wish advertise more the fact that the main entrance was changed…Everybody goes to the main parking with the locomotive exposed in the front, but the real entrance and the booth tickets are farther down the street…

Excellent museum, will be back for sure, super kids friendly, staff was very nice and polite, there was a volunteer gentleman who was great, he took the time to explain to us full of interesting facts, there is a place to eat lunch but the restaurant was closed. Super happy with our experience, and highly recommend.

My first time going! Finding the new entrance was a little difficult. I def think the old entrance is a better decision. It was very enjoyable, loved the little play areas for kiddos & how well taken care of the actual museum is! - A lot of walking though, prepare yourself!

Great museum, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and overall fantastic experience. One of the best train museums you’ll find, incredible atmosphere. Only detraction was how difficult it is to access by public transit as a tourist. Worth the commute though
