Owosso Curwood Castle

Museum
History Museums
Riverfront castle with watch tower built in 1922 as novelist James Oliver Curwood's writing studio.
This was a cool place to see! grew up in the Grand Rapids area and never knew that there was a castle just a little over an hour from us. We had a great afternoon checking out the park and the castle is neat as heck. the worker on site was very nice. Very cool and rare to find a castle like this in Michigan. Highly recommend checking it out!

When I say this is such a magical experience I can’t stress it enough!! This castle was truly stunning!!
Rachel M — Google review
I took my three year old here while we were in the area and it was neat to see. We paid for the tour which was very reasonable and bought a couple books to support. Mr. Curwood was one of Michigan’s foremost conservationist and this is a neat part of Michigan’s history.

Nice place to visit and see the history of Owosso. It's a great place for senior photos!!!
Andrew H — Google review
It was unique and interesting. Gift shop items are on the low end price wise.

This place is an awesome monument to the author James Oliver Curwood. The staff are lovely and very friendly. They have a vast knowledge of the history of Mr. Curwood and his life and involvement in the town. The castle and surrounding park is beautifully maintained. Would highly recommend a visit, especially during the festival when all the art vendors and reenactors are out.

Such a gem for Owosso community and great spot for pics!

We have never had the chance to go inside. But the park is so lovely and has ample shade to just sit and look all the beauty. There is also a nice art walk nearby, and the bridge is always a favorite.

Steam Railroading Institute

Rail museum
Museums
This museum focused on steam-era railroad technology offers visitors a variety of train excursions.
So my family was in from Florida and we stopped and checked this out. My mom loved it! We had a guide who told us the history of the express and the history of all the cars taught us about steam engines we got lots of pictures. It was truly a lot of fun. I live right down the road and I had no idea that they did all that I thought it was just a train stop lol. Very happy that we went there. It was a lot of fun.
Tracey C — Google review
This was my first time going and my first time ever trying to get tickets. Let’s start with the good things. The staff is super friendly and organized at the station, everyone really enjoys working there, even the conductors and the staff that goes in every single carriage. I had the “cheapest” tickets and still it was pricey. They did gave me hot cocoa which I thought it was extra. The negative of this experience or things that I would have done different. - the train was behind an hour, people were waiting in the cold for an hour…I wish they told people before - they only have two restrooms inside!!! It took me 20 min. And they have portal potty’s outside, but still with the people they get I’m shock only two. - if you have small children I’ll call ahead and ask for a 4 seater. I wish I did this! - Ashley was so so so disappointed, the food was terrible and I agree with the vendors, not enough vendors that were about Polar express theme, which was disappointed. - The line for Santa was so long that when we went he wasn’t “available” anymore! -I’ll bring my own water and my own food - again not enough bathrooms and the portal potties are dirty. - they don’t have enough small children activities, and they have a slide and a carrousel but it’s 3 dolls for each time they go, even the slide which is pricey. I get that this what mostly people depend on their income but it needs a major improve, specially for the price you pay. Again, it’s so disappointed for families with small children about the quality of food, the activities and the environment. It’s sad that I didn’t feel like it was Christmasy or “North Pole”.

This was a great event for the family! Roger made it such a special event for us. Very hard to get tickets, but very much worth it. Best to have one person purchase all the tickets for a group. Thanks for making my sons wishes come true.
Melissa S — Google review
It was quite an experience here I've been wanting to go here for years. Not sure why but I finally made it only to see The polar Express was getting maintenance done so sorry to say this year I don't think there's going to be rides with this train pulling anyone. The wheels were completely off the train. Our tour guide that we had which is very informative about everything. I really enjoyed all he was telling me. I wish I could remember his name but he said that in my lifetime I'll never see this happen again to The polar Express train that was the train that featured in The polar Express movie. So next year I will have to go for a ride.
Cassondra K — Google review
We attended the Christmas in July event and had so much fun exploring the trains and riding the mini train. We came early and so we didn't get to watch the movie. But the tour, mini trains and train musuem was totally worth it!! This was a free event when we went unless you wanted to ride the big train that was $5 a person.
Angie B — Google review
This was our first trip on the Pere Marquette. We choose the swivel chairs which turned out to be an excellent choice for comfort and viewing. The staff in our car and elsewhere were incredibly friendly and made the trip fun. The town of Ashley is definitely geared towards children but it's fun to check out the small stores. Overall, it was a fun experience.
Eagle101 — Google review
The North Pole Express was a magical experience. We went with a group of my Mom-Friends and our kids. We got the seats in the dining cars. The kids sipped on hot cocoa, had delicious treats brought to us on the on the way there and back. The staff in our car (Holly) lead Christmas songs and shared historical information about the train. The conductor came around on the way home and signed the Polar Express book that we bought in Ashley. Ashley completely transformed into the North Pole. All of the staff and vendors there were so incredibly joyful and in character! I was so impressed, it was Disney level commitment. There was a free magic show there, the Grinch, shops, rides, a toy shop where kids could make a toy and so many nods to the Polar Express movie. We loved it! Worth every penny and we will definitely do this again. Also making a trip back to Ashley because we didn’t get to do everything. If you go, definitely wear your pajamas like in the movie! Lots of people do this or wear matching shirts and holiday hats, necklaces, etc. You can bring snacks on the train, so that is great. Water bottles and non-sugary snacks are a good idea for the kiddos.
Jennifer M — Google review
November 2021 - family of 5 went on the Polar express. We went on a Saturday night and had a blast. My 3 daughters are under 10. We went on Vixen and the 2 young ladies did a great job keep us entertained. We go to Ashley, MI. Its a small town and we went right to Santa. Didn't wait long. A lot of things for the kids to do. The volunteers are wonderful. You can make or buy items there. You can get food. We plan on doing this again next year with more family and friends. Tickets normally go on sale in the spring.

Saginaw Children's Zoo

Mentioned on

Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
Saginaw Children's Zoo is a regional destination offering interactive exhibits with 150 animals, 80 gardens, and a hand-painted carousel. The zoo celebrates nature, wildlife, and lifelong discovery through affordable and engaging experiences. Visitors can also enjoy events for children at the Dow Event Center such as Baby Shark Live! and popular children's plays. Additionally, the zoo offers an opportunity to learn about the history of Saginaw through its three levels of exhibits.
Such a great little version of a zoo for younger kids who don't have a great attention span yet. They had such a blast being able to switch from animal watching to playing on the playground and then getting a snack. Everything is very reasonably priced for an "attraction" style activity. Definitely would recommend if you're in the area.
Sarah — Google review
This zoo is small in size but had a great variety of animals! Perfect to take smaller kids and get to see everything in one day! Zoo was clean and well kept, staff were friendly and helpful! They have a restaurant, gift shop, carousel, and train ride! Lots of hand washing stations that were nice to have and bathrooms were clean! Would recommend for any age! All the different gardens that people or places sponsor were cool to check out also!
Rough G — Google review
They have crockigators lol 😆 the habitats were clean. The main pond was drained like a mosh pit or lagoon 😇 we got to pet the goats for free 🐐 it was a fun experience. Would go again!
Shira S — Google review
Well maintained zoo in Saginaw that has a nice variety of animals. Caretakers keeps the facilities clean and the animals seem to be happy and enjoying the visitors. Nice train for little kids to to see the entire zoo. Has concessions for a lunch if you did not bring your own. Enjoyed my time there.
Adam S — Google review
Super cheap (got in for $6 a person!), cute little place to take your kids to explore, and even have a park and sand pit. Their gardeners need applause as well its so beautiful everywhere you look! They dont have things on display to buy so you dont spend money like other places (unless you go into the store). Loved it will def come again.
Charlotte T — Google review
Very cute little zoo! I was shocked at how pretty it was and how close up you got to the animals. Plus its only $8 to get in if you're not a local resident. The train ride was cute and there was a nice pond in the middle. Definitely would revisit in the future
Victoria A — Google review
It's a small zoo but I love this one. I took my kids there for years. The train is the best part.

Howell's Mainstreet Winery

Winery
Food & Drink
Wine store
Wineries & Vineyards
11/2/23 Well I decided to drive here (just over an hour one way) based on a great recommendation from someone I know and let me say this: I'M GRATEFUL!! This was a special treat that I will not ever forget. I absolutely LOVED the ambience of this building and I can not possibly say enough about the AMAZINGLY friendly & helpful staff. I ordered one of their Homemade pizzas, the "Gotti" and, up until today, have always said that the best pizza that I've ever had was from a place up in Manitowoc Wisconsin. Now I think I must say that this is the best ever, or at least VERY close to it. I sampled several (4 actually) of their wines and brought home a mixed case of my three favorite selections and picked up some nice wine glasses as well. I then called the friend, who recommended that I try this fabulous place and brought home three more bottles of his preference as well. I was fortunate enough to meet one of the owners, Sandy, who was extremely kind and welcoming. If you ever anywhere near Howell Michigan with your significant other (or alone even), you just have to make a pit stop here. For those who are just traveling or on a road trip, you need to make this venue a MUST STOP on your itinerary. This is an adult oriented establishment, but there is absolutely tables and room to bring the younger members of the family for the AMAZING pizza 🍕. They have beverages for the kids as well. I can't say enough about this place so simply, COME and ENJOY it for yourself. They are Handicap accessible and have street parking available. Rick Zorn

I don’t usually leave reviews, but the pizza and wine were so delicious that I had to write one. Both were amazing, but the pizza was truly a masterpiece. It was an honor to enjoy such fresh and high-quality food. This is definitely a place I want to visit again and again. Also, the staff were all incredibly kind, which made the experience even better. Thank you for making my time there so enjoyable and memorable!

Stopped in here on a whim with my husband and were pleasantly surprised. The pizza smelled amazing and looked great but we had eating previously. We decided to do wine flights. 4 flights for $24 is a steal and they are generous size. So basically 4 wine glass pours for $24. My husband did reds and I did sweet wines. Loved their sangria. Would be a great place to go with a group of friends or a girl night out. Only down side was they close at 7 on a Saturday. But you could always start their and bar hop. We will be back.
Sarah C — Google review
The pizza was big big big and the wine was perfect! Great waitresses! Wonderful atmosphere.
Deborah S — Google review
This is an absolute GEM for wine and pizza. My top favorite for pizza BY far and their wine is delicious. They also have rotating seasonal flavors for different times of year. My go-to’s are Calypso, Charmed, and Drago! The wine-a-rita pizza is my fave and their house salad with their homemade dressing is soooo good 🤤🤤🤤 Family owned and everyone is so friendly! Located in the heart of downtown Howell. Definitely worth a trip!!
Lindsay G — Google review
I can’t rave enough about this place the only complaint that I have about this place that they’re not open MORE. This place is such a vibe, such a fun place to just go buy a bottle of wine with your boyfriend and play games at the bar, eat a pizza! best pizza that I’ve had maybe in 10 years so savory fresh ingredients the wine is top tier here. I just love it here. Any chance that I get which is not very often because of their hours I go here This winery has really figured it out!!! Come here and make sure you leave with a bottle. No headache in the morning!!!
China H — Google review
Cute place. I don’t like that you can’t get a flight and have to stand at the bar to order your drink. But it’s a fun place to check out if you’re in the area. I didn’t get to try their pizzas but I heard they’re amazing, and like an Italian style.
Sanna H — Google review
It's a Wonderful environment, staff is warm and welcoming. The pizza is so fabulous and the wine delicious. The Winery is one of our favorite places 💖

Factory Outlets
Birch Run Premium Outlets is the largest outlet mall in the Midwest, offering a wide variety of stores including The North Face, Adidas, Aerie, and more. It's a great place for families with its family-friendly atmosphere and over 100 stores to explore. Visitors can find everything from apparel to cosmetics and even specialty items like barbecue sauces and hot sauces. Whether you're shopping for specific brands or just browsing around, Birch Run Premium Outlets has something for everyone at good prices.
My wife and I have found our way to the Birch Run Outlets for over 25 years now. You can find some great bargains if you have the time to look. Men, you won't be board because there's a lot for us too. A nice change I've seen over the years. One nice change is more 2nd hand and antique places to shop. One of my favorites is Flashback Vintage, you need to check them out.
Bill B — Google review
This outlet mall has the potential to be a top-tier shopping destination—if more stores were added and closures were minimized. Its location is ideal, situated right off Interstate 75, making it a perfect stop for travelers looking to take a break, shop, and enjoy their journey. The surrounding area already offers excellent amenities, including a variety of restaurants and nearby hotels, making it convenient for overnight stays. As someone who frequently travels, I often look for outlet malls to stretch my legs, find great deals, grab a meal, and even spend the night. I genuinely enjoy the stores currently at this mall, but expanding the selection would significantly enhance the experience—not just for me, but for countless others traveling this major corridor. With just a few strategic additions, this outlet mall could truly thrive and become a must-visit stop along I-75. Please consider investing in its growth. The potential is already here—it just needs to be unlocked.
Jb F — Google review
Lots of choices all in one area. Good place to get your excercise in while you shop. Most stores are walkable down the main sidewalk with crossing the parking lot. Some you will need to drive to next set of buildings over. This is a place you could easily spend the entire day.
R.A. M — Google review
This place is going downhill fast. We come here every year and each time we come here, it takes us less and less time to go through it. They no longer have a Spirit Halloween or Coleman store. The book store and retro store that were here are gone as well. I believe the Bose store is also gone. The only stores left are the Pepperidge farms and Sleeping Tiger as unique stores. Otherwise they have some other basic stores left that other outlet malls have like Nike, Under Amour, and Sketchers. So much of this mall has just been replaced with basic, boring, and very common stores. Not to mention one entire section has been replaced by a Goodwill, antique stores, and a small market. Who is going to a "premium" outlet mall for that? We spent only about an hour here this last time we were there, compared to previous years, we spent half a day here. It's still worth going for some of the unique stores but that's it. I would only recommend going on the way to Frankenmuth but absolutely not as a solo trip unless you are super into expensive clothes.
Jaron D — Google review
I just love these stores! You can find anything you need or want in this wonderful outlet , and I'm so thankful for it to be right around the corner from me now! Bless you all!

Great selection of retail outlets available to shop at at Birch Run Premium Outlets! Located in Birch Run, MI, this outlet is just off I75. Lots of parking available with plenty of lighting. A very popular outlet mall, so it can get busy at times, be prepared! Come enjoy a premium shopping experience at Birch Run Premium Outlets!

There are tons of awesome shops in several areas holding anything you need. If you can't find it here, you probably dont need it. There's plenty of parking, some restrooms, and a few places to grab a bite to eat as well as vending machines. The entire area is kept up with pretty well. Along with well-known shops, there are antique shops, art shops and other places to browse. Great variety, pretty good deals all around.

The antique stores here are amazing. The side along the highway near goodwill has multiple different stores. I always start at An Unexpected Treasure Hunt and work my way around

Frankenmuth River Place Shops is a charming shopping center designed to resemble a traditional Bavarian village. With over 40 unique storefronts, visitors can explore the Alpine-inspired architecture and enjoy activities like old-time photos, gourmet cupcakes, and wine tastings at Modern Craft Winery. The shops offer a variety of experiences for families to enjoy while immersing themselves in Frankenmuth's European village theme.
This is a great place to stop and get a small taste of Bavarian culture. There is a covered bridge here which you can walk or drive over. There was also a restaurant near the lodge and the food there is INCREDIBLE! They can serve it in courses or you can get some of it All You Can Eat. Almost everyone has to take a to-go box with them when they leave

This city is simply perfect, it's always a 10 in every way. It's worth visiting at any time of the year, as there's always something new to discover. The city is charming, beautiful, and magical, with an atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in a dream. There are events and activities for all tastes and ages, making it ideal to visit with family or friends. The views are breathtaking, the strolls are pleasant, and the journey feels like you're inside a movie. The city has a special charm that makes you want to come back again and again.

Enjoyed a delicious fried chicken dinner. Came with all the sides of course. The coleslaw was tangy and delicious. The gravy, amazing. All the cheeses and breads and cottage cheese hit the spot. I’ve listed the menu here with the prices. It’s not for everyone. There’s is a lot of shopping in the walking area around the two main restaurants that serve the all you can eat chicken dinners. Great hotels to spend the night. Water park attached to the hotel. I’ve stayed in the past. Very nice and fun. Overall great for a weekend getaway or an afternoon.
Jennifer O — Google review
I absolutely love the Frankenmuth River Shops! I make it a point to visit at least once a year, and each time is a delightful experience. This year, I'm especially excited for our trip; it’s the perfect small getaway for the family, filled with charm and activities to enjoy together. The atmosphere at the River Shops is incredibly inviting, set within the enchanting Bavarian-style town of Frankenmuth. Strolling along the picturesque pathways lined with vibrant shops is a joy in itself. There’s a fantastic variety of stores, each offering unique items, from handmade crafts to stylish clothing and local artwork. I always find something special to take home! If you're looking to indulge, the array of treats is impressive. From delectable fudge and homemade ice cream to gourmet popcorn and artisanal chocolates, there’s something to satisfy every sweet tooth. The flavors are rich and wonderful, making it hard to choose just one! What I love most is that Frankenmuth caters to both families and couples. Whether you’re enjoying quality time with your kids or seeking a romantic escape with your spouse, there’s no shortage of activities. You can explore quaint cafes, indulge in wine tastings, or relax by the river and take in the beautiful scenery. Prices at the shops are comparable to what you’d expect in a popular vacation town, but the quality and experience are well worth it. Frankenmuth River Shops consistently deliver joy, relaxation, and a sense of community that keeps us coming back year after year. Without a doubt, this place deserves a five-star rating!

A fun place to spend the afternoon! Lots of little shops to visit and explore. Snacks, drinks and food are all around. In a mixture of old world charm in a fun setting right on the river. They have tons of events that take place on the weekends. Reenactment, dog show, car shows etc.

An interesting and diverse shopping area...even for a grumpy husband. Loved the Bavarian theme. Shop keeper's were pleasant and helpful. Beautiful architecture and places to sit were adequate. ..clean and smoke free.

20250711 A very dogfriendly shopping area with Bavarian theme. Some of the stores like the jerky shop and hot pepper shop can be found in other shipping centers. I came here specifically for cherry republic. I did find something in the cats and dogs shop. Otherwise, I pretty much enjoyed the Bavarian storefront. I wish this was similar to the Nelis' Dutch Village with German merchandise and German feel to it.

Military Museums
The Michigan Heroes Museum, established in 1987, is located in Frankenmuth and is dedicated to honoring the military and space heroes of Michigan. The museum showcases individual displays for celebrated heroes and astronauts who have represented the state in space exploration. It also pays homage to the Polar Bears, a group of soldiers sent to combat with the Bolshevik Red Army in Russia during 1918-1919.
Went here many years ago, and I wish i was a local guide sooner; so I could have given this review and posted the pictures then. For starters, this is not a huge museum, but it is filled with memorabilia from several wars. And helps tell the story of my veteran that came from Michigan. As well as astronauts. I would highly recommend this to anyone In the area! Frankenmuth Michigan as a whole was just a really neat place!
Kevin T — Google review
This place is a hidden gem of frankenmuth. We traveled here with a group of high schoolers on a field trip to film them for an upcoming documentary, and we were all extremely impressed. On display where artifacts, pictures, and most importantly stories of Michiganders, who fought in wars from our nations history. The tour guides there were extremely knowledgeable, and the array of items on display are very cool. In fact, they have an entire display of German and Japanese artifacts which were confiscated by World War II veterans. I highly a recommend spending time here. It’s off the beaten path of the main downtown area, but whether you’re a war buff or not, you will find it, inspiring and informative.

An outstanding venue to cover the military heroes of all the services...for the state of Michigan. Descriptive and informative presentations. Worth the visit. Engaging and informative docents.

Great place to learn about the Michigan military. Presented very well. Guide is very knowledgeable, and you can tell he enjoys his job.

The young man there that runs the place was very knowledgeable and available for questions. Museum is well kept and interesting. Pay attention to the top of the shelves!
Emily B — Google review
This was very cool! Our boys are all in WWII right now and this place honored all who served from MI in all wars and space. Mark, who was working today was very knowledgeable and he had a scavenger hunt the boys could do which made them look through and at everything multiple times trying to find their objects on their sheets. It helped them to stop and really appreciate everything while learning new cool things about history and humbling them for own fallen soldiers. I recommend this place!
Miranda M — Google review
Absolutely fantastic hidden Michigan gem! This museum has an amazing collection of military history, Michigan soldiers' stories, and artifacts and memorabilia. For me it's an absolutely essential stop on a Frankenmuth visit, and well worth a trip on its own merit! The staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and the museum itself is well organized and well cared for. A fantastic place for researching a school project, brushing up on military history, or just spending a day learning more about the amazing things people from Michigan have accomplished.
Heather C — Google review
Absolutely wonderful, informative and interesting museum. The staff told us about many of the displays and we didn't even have a tour scheduled. I would highly recommend this as a stop if you are in the area. There is displays for many various past and present wars and we learned about the Polar Bears unit. They also have Bingo cards available for young children to search for objects as they go through the museum.

Went to Sweet Peaces for some vegan eats. Had the lentil soup and the vegan snickers! They were both amazing! The woman who helped us - great customer service! The rest of the Market was busy, and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. Many of the kiosk-keepers made eye contact and greeted us as we passed by. A very welcoming experience for us 'out-of-towners'.

I didn't know this was called the Farmers Market, we were on the part called "The Bricks". It is so nice to see downtown revitalized and thriving. We had fun!

Love this new farmer's market, something new every week, and definitely something for everyone. It is a great step up for Flint. Can't wait for our next visit.

We had our wedding ceremony and reception here. Venue and staff are amazing. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for an event space with endless possibilities for implementing your own style in your event. The park across the street, as well as the street itself, make perfect places for event photography. Thanks to Janelle, Helen and Karen for making our wedding process magical

A wonderful place with a great selection. I went for veggies. Got just what I wanted. And also got some very tasty strawberry cheesecake. They were busy but shopping and checkout was fast.

This farmers market was a definite highlight of our visit to Flint. There was a large variety of vendors and food, and produce that I have never seen before. The sandwich made of Arepas was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be back there if I’m in the area. The only downside of it is that it is open so few days a week!

Spicer Orchards Farm Market, Cider Mill, Fudge, Bakery

Cider mill
Fun & Games
Family-run farm with pick-your-own apples, hay wagon rides & a huge corn maze, plus a winery.
Stopped by for tart cherries picking. Didn't have time for anything else due to early closing time in my opinion, 7 pm. But it's what it is, owner knows best. Make sure to bring a hat and sunscreen if you are here on a sunny day for berry picking. Store is amazing too, lots of goodies or tasty items to choose from! The best farm in the area!
Nina T — Google review
We had a great time apple picking at Spicer’s! Lots of fun activities for the kids, good cider and the best donuts ever! The orchard trees are all short which allowed even our 4 year old to enjoy picking.
Greg F — Google review
I had such a fantastic experience at this apple orchard! From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. Everyone was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed for a great visit. The prices are very reasonable — much better than other orchards I've been to. Whether you're picking your own apples or buying them from their market, you definitely get great value for your money. They do a wristband system for pick your own, one person free and then $5 per person after. When you finish picking they weigh your berries and it’s $3.95 per pound. The absolute highlight of our visit were the fresh, hot donuts and cold Apple cider! They had options to please everyone’s sweet tooth whether you want a classic cinnamon sugar, powered sugar or just plain. They even had glazed strawberry donuts during strawberry season. Great prices and helpful staff, we purchased a half gallon of cider for for $8.95 and a dozen donuts for $12.95. What really stood out was how knowledgeable and helpful the staff were. They gave us great tips on the best apple varieties for baking versus snacking, we were even given an apple to try when we couldn’t make up our minds on what to get. You can tell they love what they do and want to make sure every guest leaves happy. Highly recommend this orchard for families, couples, or anyone looking for a fun and affordable day outdoors. We’ll definitely be coming back in the fall!

They have 4 different tastes 🍩. Actually you can get half dozen bags or you can ask custom orders like me. I loved cinnamon one the best. And also plain one was very crispy I loved it!!!

DISAPPOINTING AND RUDE STAFF Prices are kind of high on a bunch of stuff, especially their fresh baked apples. They want $18.95 for a small bag. Not a 5 lb bag or anything like that. Like a 2 lb bag of apples so that's a first turn off Very overpriced on everything We get to the donuts and the donuts smell really good. They look really good. They're fairly priced-ish. I will say just for a very small strawberry donut you know $6 for a half dozen 1295 for a dozen. Something like that. The donuts do not have any flavor at all. They are just like eating paper I got a six pack of strawberry donuts and a six pack of defrosted strawberry donuts. The frosted ones are pretty good but all you can taste is the frosting. There is no strawberry flavor at all The regular unfrosted strawberry donuts have literally no flavor at all. There's no strawberry. There's no donut flavor. They're not sweet. They're just paper dough . Not one person said anything to us walking into the store or by the donut area. We got to the ice cream area. Once again nobody we went to the fudge area once again. Nobody around one employee came walking by didn't even acknowledge us We got to the barbecue sausage and stuff like that and I had to ask a lady at the front. Does the barbecue sauces have mustard because I am highly allergic to mustard on their ingredients list. All they have is some of the ingredients and then a category of spices, which in most cases means they use mustard But when you ask somebody they have no clue. So she basically told me in her opinion she would not buy any because it could have mustard in it because they don't specifically say it does or not So when you're told by an employee not to buy something then you just don't so I avoided that We asked that same employee did it cost anything to go pick strawberries She said no. You paid $2 for a cardboard box you go out you pick the strawberries and you come back and they weigh the strawberries and you pay them then We go out. I use a cane and a walker to get around and I tell you what if you are disabled or have a hard time walking or getting around in rough terrain. Avoid this it's hard for disabled people to do We get up to the front to pay and we are charged $5 for the wristbands that we were not told about. We were told they were free $2 for the box and $4 a pound for the strawberries which we were told about the $2 box and the $4 a pound for strawberries but not told about the $5 for the wristbands we were told they were free We go over to the winery and I will tell you this. I will never walk back into that winery again. Customer service was non- existent we were not greeted. We were completely ignored There were two gentlemen at the bar who apparently had been drinking for a while. There were two ladies at the other end of the bar who had like 10 bottles of wine and the one customer service lady there stuck with them the whole time. She did not check on anybody else. She didn't say anything to us until about 10 minutes of us sitting there in silence The older lady was extremely rude and snippy and stuck up. You can tell she did not want us there. She didn't care about us. She walked over in front of us three or four different times. Never even lifted her eyes to look at us We were going to get a couple samples of wine because we had never been there. So I asked for a sample of the honey white and she had to go get little plastic cups. She didn't say anything about hold on We asked for a sample of wine and the older lady was very rude about saying you can only have two She was very snotty and rude about it when she came back over after we had our two sips of wine and didn't even ask us if we wanted anything else. Just stared at us awkwardly I said we're good. I said my wife was going to ask about the mojito apple cider But doesn't want to spend that kind of money if it isn't any good. And she just looked at us and said it's just minty and then walked away from us We walked out and will never walk into the winery part again

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Spicer Orchards Farm Market, Cider Mill, Fudge & Bakery is hands-down one of the most vibrant and delightful places to spend a day in Michigan. Whether you're there to pick your own seasonal fruit—blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, cherries, peaches, and of course apples—straight off the vine or tree, or just to soak up the sights, it delivers an experience that feels both refreshing and wholesome. 🧺 The pick-your-own experience is top-notch. With a fun wagon ride to the fields, it’s easy to access the freshest fruits imaginable—nothing beats the flavor of something that’s just been picked. They even offer lavender cutting, adding a fragrant, colorful touch to the adventure. 🍩 After picking, the farm store is an absolute must-visit. Fresh doughnuts made all day, creamy fudge, ice cream, homemade jams and fruit salsas, cider slushies, honey sticks—you’ll want one of everything. And for those 21+, the winery offers a rich selection of wines and cider beers. If you're unsure what to try, a flight and a few appetizers is the perfect intro. 🎡 In the fall, Spicer Orchards transforms into a festive playground of joy. Food vendors dish up favorites like BBQ, corn dogs, elephant ears, street corn, popcorn, and fresh lemonade. Kids (and grownups alike!) can explore the playground, get lost in the corn maze, or hop on amusement rides. This is a true one-stop destination for family fun, seasonal delights, and homemade treats. Whether you stay for an hour or the whole day, you’ll leave smiling—and probably with a bag full of goodies. Don’t miss it!

We visited Spicer Orchards for the first time yesterday. My husband and I took our two young kids and met my mom here since it was so nice outside. Some people on here complain about the $5 wristbands, but I personally think it's not a bad price for what you get if you take advantage of what they offer. My son had a wonderful time playing on the playground for a long time and especially loved the sand/dirt area. The animals were very cute and friendly, and my son lovingly referred to the cow as "big fella", haha. Everywhere we went seemed to be well maintained and clean. The gentleman doing the tractor rides was so nice and offered to take our pictures after the hay ride and chat with us. The store was a little narrow for strollers, but we were able to manage fine since it wasn't packed (but still had a lot of people for a weekday, in my opinion). It was all very organized and they really make sure to take advantage of the space that they have. We got to try samples of fudge, and the watermelon and maple bacon flavors I felt were very unique and delicious. They have fresh donuts in bags on the back counter, and we could tell that the pumpkin cinnamon were very popular. We had no problem waiting a few minutes for those, and they were very tasty and fresh, along with the cider. Now, we picked up a blueberry pie to take home, and this is what prompted me to write this long winded review. The pies were still warm when we picked them off the table, so they were fresh. I don't normally like fruit pies, but I've now come to realize that is because I never had good fruit pies. This is hands down the best one I've had, and my mom who got an apple pie said the same thing. Wow! My dad was bummed he couldn't come with us this time, but we will for sure be back when the food trucks are here, to do more wagon rides and u pick, and to pick out pumpkins. Spicers is definitely a new favorite cider mill for us. 🙂

Went there today. It was fun for the kids. BEAUTIFUL PLACE. They really did a great job with all the activities, and you never had to wait too long for a tractor ride to pick you up. However, I know that this is the big season for the local farmers and orchards right now. I get that the prices are high for the season. This is when they make most of their money for the year. I love supporting family-owned businesses like this. What I didn't like was the price the food vendors were charging. A walking taco was $14, and a 16-oz drink was $4.00. Make sure to eat before you go. It's crazy getting three drinks and two walking tacos, and it came out to $44. Bubble Tea for one drink was $9, and the funnel cake was $10.00. Get a big purse and bring your own food. I won't be price gouged like that again.

We started building an HO scale railroad layout and thought it might be a good idea to do some research on railroads and older buildings. So off we went to Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad in Genesee County. We purchased our tickets in advance on line. Before entering we walked by 2 beautiful gardens. One was a Monarch way station and the other was by Michigan State University Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Program. The day we went was the 43rd Annual Railfans weekend. What a fun place to visit 😃. All of the people working there were very friendly and helpful. We walked around and looked inside many of the buildings and were able to obtain lots of information for the model train layout. We also did a scavenger hunt and a little village tour. There were model railroad layout presented by several model railroad clubs. If you get an opportunity to visit, do it! We plan on going back and spending more time in the village and will definitely be taking another train ride on Engine #152.

Crossroads Village and Huckleberry Railroad is a great place to visit as a family! They always have cool Halloween attractions and they also have stuff during Christmas as well. Seeing, hearing, and being able to ride on an old school steam locomotive is a real treat as well!

I had a lot of fun here at Crossroads. It was cool and interesting to see all the different shops and exhibits scattered around the place. I espicaly enjoyed the school and the sawmill so I would definitely advise going there. In general, I found it really cool to explore some of the methods of doing things in the past that are just completely different nowadays.

The town is cute, but let’s be honest, we came for the train ride. We arrived over an hour early to get the caboose for the kids and were told the limit was 10 to 11 people. We even split our group so they could have that magical experience. But the conductor added 12 extra people, cramming the caboose so full that kids were sitting on the floor and standing while the train was moving. It didn’t feel safe, and it definitely wasn’t special anymore. The magic, the joy, and the excitement we came for were completely taken away. Our kids were heartbroken while the conductor focused only on the people he added. What’s the point of giving out caboose passes if they don’t mean anything? The magic was gone the moment that train left the station.

Beautiful place. If you live history this is the place. Every single place inside has a lot of tell you, you will find a host waiting in each one and in a very kind way, They will give you a lot of details of everything there, the older that is the person the better that si the story and kindness. My favorites places were the barber shop, the school, lumber, doctor’s office … anyways you need to see by yourself everything there. People extremely kind.

The Halloween event was great! Only thing disappointing is the train was sold out. They said they only run roughly three trains a day. Other than this it was great.

I love this movie theater! It's great for going with friends or family, or just hanging out. One of the things I like most is that it has reclining seats that you can lie down in, making it perfect for a relaxed and comfortable movie experience. The screen and sound quality are also excellent, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the film. Plus, the atmosphere is cozy and modern, making it an ideal spot for a night out with loved ones. Definitely one of my favorite movie theaters!

Clean theater, friendly staff. We really enjoyed our movie 🍿🎥 and snacks. Pricing for two at a 5pm movie with a snack package totalled about $50, so not exactly cheap but a lot of fun.
Tatiana T — Google review
Caught a Monday matinee showing of the new Superman movie in IMAX at NCG Cinema in Grand Blanc, and overall it was a great experience. The theater was very clean and pleasantly quiet—definitely a perk of seeing an early-week movie. The popcorn was fresh (no stale kernels here), and the ICEE machines were working perfectly, which isn’t always a given these days. The staff seemed on top of their game, and everything felt well-maintained. That said, the cost is getting steep. One ticket, a small popcorn, and a large ICEE ran me about $30. It’s a bit of a hit to the wallet for a solo movie trip, even for a matinee. The film itself was solid—great visuals and action—and the IMAX screen really did it justice. Between the spotless theater and the quality snacks, I left feeling like it was worth the outing, but definitely something I’ll treat as an occasional splurge.

It's a nice theater. But they need more staff at the ticket counter. The staff was friendly. Could be kept cleaner around the beverage table, but it wasn't anything horrible. Seating isn't the most comfortable, but there is plenty of it. And it's nice that the arm of the chair can be put up.

The best movie theater in the area. We saw an IMAX movie here, and they did a great job making the entrance more grand than ever before. By this, I mean that they significantly improved the look of the entrance to the IMAX theater. The staff is always friendly, the theaters are nice, and the restrooms are always clean.

Kensington Metropark is a sprawling green oasis that offers an array of outdoor activities for nature lovers and families alike. With two inviting beaches, a well-maintained golf course, and a nature center featuring engaging exhibits and guided hikes, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The trails surrounding the nature center are particularly delightful; you might even find birds eating from your hand! These scenic paths are perfect for family hikes, complete with benches and informative signs along the way.
We live 50 minutes away but we LOVE this park! It’s $10 for a day pass. The water slides and splash pad is $7 per person for all day. The Swan paddle boat rental is $17 for an hour. And, feeding the birds and chipmunks from your hand is free! Just bring bird seed and nuts. We also love visiting the farm and their maple program is really interesting and fun! We’ve never been in the winter but they do have a sledding hill.

Very peaceful! The bathroom and shower area is clean. You will see staff throughout that goes over and beyond keep the area clean. Splash pad was really nice our family loves it. Food court reasonably priced and food tastes good too. Few trails for to walk/bike off the food. They even have bike rentals. We set in the parking lot and had a picnic so we had lots of fun.

Beautiful park with so much to do. We love the little farm and all the different playgrounds. Can't wait for the weather to warm up so we can check out the beach and splash pad. Great place to take family pictures too.

Nice park, but I am very annoyed with how fast people drive through here. They tailgate you in 25mph zones and zoom around like they own the place. Unfortunately, this place has a shortage of police officers. I know this problem can be fixed if they were able to hire more bodies.

Excellent metropark! I grew up in Milford so I know this one well. Tons of amazing walking/biking lanes and trails, lots of good fishing areas, and there's no lack of excellent picnic spots. The nature center is great. Make sure to say hi to Ranger the falcon while there! He's just the best. The farm area is awesome as well. Seeing all the animals is a blast. Sometimes they'll be out to pasture though so be prepared to have some unavailable for viewing haha. Autumn is a glorious time to visit. The colors that you'll see throughout the park are insane. Nice to just kayak out and fish, lay back and enjoy the scenery. Have fun!

Kensington Metropark is a fantastic place to spend the day with friends and family! The beach is clean and enjoyable, perfect for cooling off on a sunny day. Kids will absolutely love the splash pad—it’s fun, safe, and very well-kept. Just note that there’s a small entry fee for both kids and adults at the splash area. Boating is another highlight here. Whether you’re into kayaking, paddle boating, or just enjoying the views from the water, it’s a relaxing experience. The park charges a $10 entrance fee per vehicle, which is very reasonable considering the facilities and scenery. The restrooms are well maintained and clean, which is always a big plus. Overall, it’s a great spot for picnics, outdoor activities, and simply spending quality time outdoors. Highly recommend for a day trip or weekend outing!

This Metro Park is one of the most soothing parks in Michigan. The walking and bike trail go on for miles! The lake is calm and inviting. During the day most of the people are polite and getting much needed exercise. I recommend this State Park.

This was a very nice campground and beach area. Clean and well maintained. The camp store has a lot of stuff in case you forgot anything! Highly recommend for camping or even a day trip to the beach!

Beautiful, well-maintained campground. We spent two nights camping in the smaller loop campground. Dog-friendly, quiet and the roads were in very good condition. The bathroom/shower area is very old/outdated and the "hot" water for showers (taken in the later evening) was not to be found. The camp store is a nice plus. The hiking trails were excellent. We wish there was a spot at the lake where our dog was able to swim (if there was, we did not find it). Overall, very enjoyable.

I have been coming here for the past 30 years... since I was a kid. my brother and me grew up riding our bikes around and running through the trails. Now I take my family here and it is just so peaceful. I do wish they would check the bathrooms since other people don't clean up their own messes...but still one of the nicest kept.

Great place to camp w little traffic. There are camp sites right on the lake that allowed campers to tie up a fishing boat easily near. There is a camp store that probably has evey you forgot to bring. Including hand scooped ice cream. The beach is on the opposite side from camping so we had to drive around but it could be an easy bike ride if you'd like.

36 years going here. Last weekend was my last. DNR is more worried about a handicap man fishing, not bothering anyone. Then the drugs, yelling, music so loud i can't sleep. Fishing is part of camping. Cars parked in road couldn't get camper down the road. The lake has just turned into a nightmare with weeds. Can't even float on the water as weeds stop you. The bathroom is not cleaned. There is no place for a handicap person to sit in a shower. Filling up a camper 1.9 gpm is the worst. The water system was not updated as that has been pressure for years. The fill station is so small i couldn't get out without hitting the curb. Poor design. How do you put brand new black top and not level it on an ada site? The list goes on. Our tax dollars wasted, and employees are running people away.

We spent a weekend, Thursday through Sunday, camping at Metamora-Hadley Recreation Area with our family and had a very enjoyable experience. We used a 30 amp site with a two vehicle limit, which suited our needs well. The campsites are family-friendly and accommodate biking activities for children. The beach was pleasant, with a sandy surface over a firm bottom, and featured a mobi mat near the center for enhanced accessibility. Fishing was excellent. Park staff and DNR personnel were present throughout the weekend but did not intrude on our experience.

Great place for an outdoor concert! The staff is always fantastic, professional, helpful and attentive. We have attended several concerts here and always have a great time before, during and after the events. Several locations for drinks, food and show memorabilia. Nice big venue with plenty of restrooms close to the seating. They do an awesome job of getting cars in and out in a timely manner. No complaints, definitely recommend Pine Knob for quality entertainment!

Drove 3 hours to Pine Knob to see Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin here. For whatever reason, the tickets we bought from ticketmaster showed the show starting at 02:30pm. And the main reader board along the road also showed 02:30pm. So we showed up at 02:15pm only to find out the show didnt start until 07:00pm for the opener. 4.5 HOURS LATER. And they do not allow you to leave and go back to your vehicle once you enter. There were thousands of us sitting around anywhere we could just to pass the time. We heard many people complaining while we sat around because their tickets were exactly the same. The show itself? Phenomenal. One of the best I've seen. Our view was great, the sound was great, and the seat was decently padded when we were sitting. The food overall is expensive, about $15 for a beer, $15 for chicken tenders and fries, and $10 for a Little Caesars slice.

I’ve been here twice and it’s def my favourite concert venue I’ve been to. Parking is included and fairly efficient getting in/out. Lots of amenities and areas to hang out. Prices are outrageous for drinks and food but you can bring a sealed/clear water bottle that you can refill if you want to save money there (would be nice if they had an actual water refill station rather than just a water fountain). Bathrooms have always been pretty clean. I’ve only sat under the pavilion but I found the sound and view to be great for the price.

Recently went and saw Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin here, we had great seats in the band shell! But all around this venue is absolutely beautiful!!! It was the first time I had ever been there, and I just loved evey5hing about it. There's beverage and food options everywhere, I love that they have people walking around selling cold beverages, and to be honest the prices weren't THAT bad. I loved the venue and the show! I cant wait to see another show here soon!

Great venue. Lots of vendors for food and drink. And not super expensive. 😉 Sound was clear and not excessively loud. Lawn area was comfortable with great stage visibility. Pay attention to entry rules before going and smooth sailing. Bring that one bottle of water per person. It's 6 bucks there.

Wonderful spot hidden in thre middle of know where! Easy access getting into venue. Parking was free and easy. Bathrooms were clean and no line!!!!! Hill seating/standing was perfect spot. Could use more screens to help with better viewing of concerts in grass area....only had 3 screens and really not large enough.

The best venue to watch a concert! Parking lot is great for tailgating. Not a bad seat in the place. But my favorite is how fast they move the traffic out ! 3 lanes of continuous movement means you are out of the place honestly within 10 minutes!

First time I have been here to see a concert and I read reviews about how to park at the end of a row to get out quickly, get there somewhat early as well and I was glad I listened to that. The seats we had were at the very top for pantera but were great seats and we had a great view. Huge drawback were the prices for food and alcoholic drinks. They wanted $22 dollars for a frozen drink, $6 for a basic bottle of water, $7 for a small bag of popcorn that is not even popped fresh. Plan to eat before you get into the venue unless you don't mind spending a fortune on food and drinks. Also if you want concert tee shirts look for the guys walking the parking lot and selling shirts for $20 instead of $40 at the tee shirt stand. All in all good experience.

Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum is a delightful gem that combines the charm of an arcade with the nostalgia of a museum. Opened in 1990, this snug space showcases an impressive collection of vintage coin-operated machines dating back to 1960. Visitors can enjoy everything from modern arcade games to retro fortune-tellers, all while collecting physical tickets for their gameplay. The atmosphere is vibrant and bustling, especially on weekends when families flock to experience its unique offerings.
I wish there was a 10 stars 🌟 This is one of the greatest attractions in the entire Midwest! I've been coming here my entire life. From brand new pinball games to antique automatons! It's truly incredible. Great for kids, adults, birthday parties and fantastic for a date night! You can't go wrong with a visit to Marvin's! Great popcorn and stack up your tickets to get a fun prize!

It was a really fun place! Me and my mom went here for a day trip last summer. It was one of the most fun days I've ever had. There is so much to do, cool prises, fortunate telling, arcade games, and much more! 10/10, would recommend
Red C — Google review
Eclectic, fascinating, pocket book friendly, and fun for EVERYONE! We spent 4 hours taking it all in. It's an antique enthusiast dream, so much to see! Great mix of retro/modern games and a snack bar! Even the prize station was good! We can't wait to come back!!
K. F — Google review
We traveled up from Nashville to visit Marvin's. Such a cool eclectic collection of vintage games, animatronics, signs, oddities, etc. I could spend hours there. Most games are either 25 or 50 cents to play. How cool is that? Very!! There are no words or photos that could share the coolness of Marvin's.
Adrienne H — Google review
Great arcade with the twist of also being a museum. All the machines are coin operated with physical tickets, excellent for nostalgia. The luck struck us a few times with jackpots and bonuses, but also with malfunctioning machines. Employees were quick to fix the ones they could and make it right. Tons of machines, and a bit cramped. Glad I didn’t need any of my mobility aids or else it may have been tricky to move around. Wish the redemption center had a better exchange rate or a few more adult aimed items. We still had fun though and can’t wait to come back when it’s in the new location.
Sarah T — Google review
This place is awesome!! You can go in for free and look at all the vintage and newer games, exhibits and concession stand. All classic games are still only a quarter!! Pinball is $1 a game but this place is worth stopping by and I hope they don't tear it down. I'm so glad I went and you should too!!
Melissa M — Google review
Very unique to say the least. We didn’t realize it was a fully functioning arcade but very cool. We saw games from as early as 1930’s from all over the world. I wish there was some literature or QR codes giving more info.
Joel C — Google review
A wonderful little place full of wholesome/vintage arcade games for all levels and ages, including classics like Dance Dance Revolution and Guitar Hero! There are so many oddities and fun things to see. It definitely feels like a relic from time gone by, but I can see why the locals love it for sure. If I lived here, I would be there every weekend playing the drum game! I got zero tickets, but I didn't want to leave.

The mall offers a variety of activities such as visiting the SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium and LEGOLAND Discovery Center, dining at the Rainforest Cafe, catching a movie at the AMC theater, and exploring numerous shops. It's an enclosed space where you can enjoy window shopping and people-watching for free.
Great Lakes Crossing Outlets is a fantastic shopping destination that offers a wide variety of stores and experiences. During my recent visit, I was thoroughly impressed by the vast selection of retail options, ranging from popular brands to unique specialty shops. The layout of the outlets is very convenient, making it easy to navigate between stores and find exactly what you're looking for. One of my favorite stores was [Favorite Stores], where I found incredible deals and a friendly staff ready to assist. The entire atmosphere of the outlets is vibrant and lively, with plenty of dining options to take a break and refuel during your shopping spree. The customer service was exceptional, and the cleanliness of the facilities added to the overall pleasant experience. Amazing outlet mall!! Passing thru (NH resident here) brought my nephew to his 1st mall!! Got school clothes& shoes. Very impressed with the prices in multiple stores

While I was in the Detroit area, decided to visit this mall and was very pleasantly surprised. The mall has a large variety of different stores, many being discount outlets with good deals on their products. There was a large food court with a variety of restaurants and there are even some snack and food stores scattered throughout. Plenty of parking and very clean too. Seems to be a thriving mall and is great compared to others these days.

Wow!! This mall is very much thriving and packed full of great stores! This mall is what every mall in America should strive to be. The mall is very modern and architecturally fascinating inside, has a huge food court with a carousel, and the layout is very easy to follow along to see all the stores. We walked the entire mall and stopped into many stores, I dont think I saw any empty storefronts and if I did it wasn't many at all. Every mall store you expect to see is located here, and more! There were lots of stores I haven't heard of before and they were all very clean, bright, and modern. Nothing was run down here, way to go!! Highly recommend shopping here, especially since its full of outlet stores where deals can be had!

Visited this outlet mall recently and was pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of stores and solid discounts. From big-name brands to smaller specialty shops, there’s something for everyone.

Great outlet mall, has the best stores very big and just out right amazing. Loved all the things to do for the family while still having amazing shopping options for everyone. Food choices were pretty good from what I can see but didn't eat there to give a true review. Will I go back, absolutely and live almost 4 hours away.

This mall was the biggest mall I’ve been to yet! There were so many different stores, restaurants, and other places to visit! Me and my family went to Sea Life, and it was an experience we’ll never forget!

Great Lakes Crossing Outlets stores are not all bargains but you can definitely cash in on great deals. The food court was not good at least Popeye chicken was horrible and they didn't really speak English so they didn't honor their own coupon.

SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium, located inside the Great Lakes Crossing Mall in Auburn Hills, is a popular family-friendly attraction featuring over 250 marine species. Visitors can explore various exhibits and even walk through an underwater Tropical Ocean Exhibit tunnel to see sharks and sea turtles up close. Additionally, the aquarium offers play areas for kids and group packages. Adjacent to the aquarium are other attractions such as the Rainforest Cafe, AMC theater, and LEGOLAND Discovery Center, providing a full day of entertainment for visitors.
Great aquarium. I'm 39 years old I crawled through the tunnels... Loved it.. I have been in fish keeping for 17 years now.. I have salt.. fresh and corals... And I will say I wasn't expecting much from this place . But instead I was pleasantly surprised everything I was healthy, clean and looked really well taken care of.. Deff a place to visit

For it being in a mall its oretty decent size. They have an area you can feel starfish and other creatures which is pretty cool. Then you can go around seeing all the different sea life exhibits they have which includes a nursery. My favorite was finding the ginormous eel that likes to hide. I absolutely recommend going its great for everyone but especially children.
Alexis K — Google review
Sea Life was a great experience!! So many different variety of fish to see. Its great for kids, especially the different little places for the kids to climb in so they can see some 9f the fish up close. We hade the behind the scenes tour and it was so informative.. Definitely go if you can!
Denise — Google review
We enjoy walking our littles through the aquarium. The play structure and various activities are pretty engaging too. We had fun trying to find all of the eels the last time we visited.
Amber F — Google review
This was my first time visiting SEA LIFE Aquarium, and it was such a nice experience. My nephew really enjoyed it, and I loved that they offered a touch pool where you could feel sea urchins, stingrays, and starfish. It's definitely a fun place for kids. I recommend adults buy tickets online the day before because it's cheaper instead of buying tickets the day of or buying in person.
Mia — Google review
We love this aquarium! We've been here about 4 times, most recently at the request of my 8 year old for her birthday. We love all of the creatures, but the sharks, turtles, stingrays, and of course NUGGET are our favorites! We really like the area where you can touch the starfish and anemone, and the jellyfish with the color changing light is another super fun thing for the kiddos. The gift shop also has lots of cool stuff. We love it here! 🐠🪸
Raechel U — Google review
Cool experience and the sea life appeared comfortable and interactive with visitors. A bit pricey however for how short the walk through is. Well maintained tanks and unique opportunity for those loving aquatic life.
Laura R — Google review
Such a cute experience and well worth the money; even my 16-year-old daughter loved it. The young lady who took the photos was so patient , and all the other staff was super sweet as well, which I liked a lot. Their tanks are so clean, and the fish literally try and interact with you. I look forward to going back again.

Premium outlet near Troy. Premium brands can be found here. Far better than Great Lakes Mall in terms of structure, interior, and maintenance. Must visit this mall in Michigan.

We were there on July 6th and the mall’s hallways were very warm. To cool down you had to enter a store, but even then some stores were not very cold. We ate at the Shake Shack for lunch. A lot of high end stores on one side of the collection and then you take the skywalk to the other side to lower end stores. It depends on which garage you enter and there is valet parking.
Lori L — Google review
Great exhibit in the North wing celebrating Detroit! It features over 100 artifacts showcasing Detroit's history, including sports memorabilia, a Marc Bauer dress worn by Aretha Franklin, a Boblo Island bumper car, and a refurbished Tiger Stadium sign. Over in the South wing we stopped at Louis Vuitton and my husband surprised me with a bag he picked out. The gal helping us weaved this gorgeous scarf around the handle…stunning! And I am so impressed by my hubby’s choice! Happy 33rd anniversary to us❤️! I had bought him Oofos sandals which really are pretty amazing but not quite the same level 😂😂😂 The entire mall was packed—felt like the holidays, curious to see what crowds the actual holidays bring! So many amazing shops. My top picks: LV, Tommy Bahama (for men), Aritzia, Reformation, Joe Malone, Garage and Alter’d State (for my daughter). But really so many great options and different price points.
Monica T — Google review
Somerset Collection is definitely worth checking out. It’s one of the nicest malls around—super clean, modern, and full of both high-end and popular stores. You’ve got luxury brands like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Chanel, but also favorites like Apple, Zara, and Lululemon. There’s a great mix, so whether you’re window shopping or ready to splurge, there’s something for everyone. The mall is split into two sides—North and South—and they’re connected by a fancy skywalk over Big Beaver Road, which is actually kind of cool to walk through. It feels upscale but not too snobby. There’s plenty of places to grab a bite too, from quick food court options to sit-down spots like Shake Shack or Capital Grille. Parking can get a little busy during peak hours, especially on weekends or around the holidays, but valet is available if you're in a rush. The seasonal decorations are always really well done, and it’s a fun place to just hang out, especially when the weather’s not great. Overall, Somerset Collection is one of the best malls in Michigan—great atmosphere, great shopping, and a little something for everyone.
Brenda B — Google review
Somerset Collection is hands down one of the best shopping destinations in Michigan. The atmosphere is clean, upscale, and elegant without being overwhelming. Whether you’re just window shopping or on the hunt for something special, there’s a wide mix of high-end brands like Louis Vuitton and Gucci, as well as more accessible stores like Zara and Lululemon. One of my favorite features is the skywalk that connects the two buildings — it’s unique and makes navigating between the luxury and more mainstream sections seamless. The mall is never too crowded, and the overall vibe is calm and pleasant, which makes the shopping experience even better. The food options are decent — the Peacock Cafes offer a few solid choices, though I wouldn’t say it’s the main draw. I do appreciate the valet parking and how clean everything is, including the restrooms. If you’re into fashion or just want to enjoy a polished retail experience, Somerset Collection is worth the trip.
Denilio — Google review
The mall is really huge with a lot of stores always seems to be pretty clear and organized. They have really nice decoration in the main area with some fountains and water splashing deals. Just plenty of stores really clean and nice. plenty of parking outside, but it can get very busy.
Peter M — Google review
Somerset Mall exceeded my expectations during my recent visit. The layout is incredibly sleek and easy to navigate, and the glass skywalk connecting the two sections of the mall was a standout feature. It added a touch of elegance and made moving between stores a pleasant experience. I was impressed by the variety of stores—there’s something for everyone, whether you’re after luxury brands or more casual shopping. I found the atmosphere to be welcoming, and despite the number of shoppers, it never felt overwhelmingly crowded. The staff in every store I visited were attentive and friendly, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The dining options were also fantastic. After shopping, I had a great meal without having to leave the mall, which made the day feel seamless. All in all, Somerset Mall is a must-visit for anyone looking for a top-notch shopping experience.
Louie S — Google review
Probably one of the best malls in the state but that’s not saying much. It’s big and pretty but the store selections aren’t very diverse, you have to hunt around for the Directories and the bathrooms, and the more popular stores like Zara and Sephora are so understaffed- you’ll be waiting in long lines and fighting for parking spots.

Blake's Orchard & Cider Mill

Orchard
Food & Drink
Fruit farm with seasonal apple picking & cider tastings, plus a restaurant & play areas for kids.
Blake’s Orchard & Cider Mill is such a great place to spend a few hours! There’s truly something for everyone. The kids had a blast with all the activities designed just for them, which makes it a very family-friendly spot. The farmers market store is incredible—so many unique selections of jams, teas, fresh fruits and veggies, even local liquors. We also really enjoyed “Blake’s Tasting Room.” Being able to order small flights of their ciders, beers, and wines was a fun way to sample a variety, and the food menu paired perfectly. The grounds are very well-kept and create a really inviting atmosphere to relax and socialize. Whether you’re going for family fun, fresh market shopping, or just to enjoy some good drinks with friends, Blake’s delivers. Highly recommend!

It truly an amazing experience. I went last Friday and that was my 5th time going in a row! Some of the photos are of me and horror actors some are scarier than others but they are all super nice and fun to talk to and they definitely give you a spook. If you go I suggest buying a ticket for the haunted hey ride and for spooky land, it’s not to expensive and there’s SO fun to do! In spooky land that’s were you can see the horror actors free range, there’s a corn maze, bounce pad, kids haunted house, older kids haunted house, (not talking about the haunted barn), play struchers, petting zoo with goats pigs and chickens, bounce house, sports zone and SO much more! The hay ride it’s such a amazing thing to do as well it’s 25 min and at the half way mark you get free cider and donuts and it truly is a spooky scary but very fun and cool experience! Definitely recommend!!!!!

Me and my friend went to Blake's this weekend for the sunflowers festival and our dreams came true!! 🌻🌻 We absolutely loved it here and it was amazing to see how many small businesses they help support with the market! We got food there and the wings were the best wings I've ever had and reasonably priced and amazing portions! We can't wait to come back this fall and pick apples & drink cider! 🍎🍂

Very nice place for family outing, specially for kids. Kids will enjoy a lot with lot of different types of activities. U-pick is a plus for kids or fruit/vegetables picking enthusiasts. It has truck and train rides for visitors, if you want to pick apples you have to buy bags, min $35 a bag. Train ride is a non-stop 15min ride. You can buy some snacks, but its expensive. I saw a dine in restaurant, but didn't get time to explore, cider mill has variety of delicious jams, veggies, juice, donuts. I like the big tents in different places, it gave me the comfort of resting and eating at different places. Bathrooms are well maintained. Overall, its a 4 plus place to visit in fall with family. Bring some snacks with you if you want to avoid some expensive snacks. Staffs are very helpful and informative. Definitely will visit again.

Very nice place. I visited the tasting room and enjoyed a cider mill donut flavored hard cider from their immense tap selection. I ordered the chicken panini and I thought it was good but could use more of the jalapeño sauce they claimed to have put on it. I proceeded over to little side so and purchased some bottles of whisky and some hard cider to bring home to Minnesota with me.

Great place for families to spend the day. Sunflower Festival was going on this weekend. Restaurant with very good food and options. Petting zoo and playground for little ones and tap room and music for the adults. Highly recommend a visit. All year long activities 🌻🍻

Haven't been there in years and was very impressed. We had an absolutely amazing time. Food was amazing and so was the cider. Service was on point. The only thing that was off was the Carmel popcorn 🍿 that I bought it was absolutely terrible. I was so shocked but someone really needs to taste that. It didn't even taste like anything. Very disappointed. But other than that everything else was phenomenal.
Savana B — Google review
Amazed, and worth the drive! Blake's Orchard & Cider Mill is a great place to visit with your family. I had purchased their cider in the grocery store numerous times in the past, but I had never visited their Orchard and cider Mill. There is a large campus with plenty of parking and plenty to do. There are hayrides for the children, also a wheeled train to ride on. You can purchase cider and donuts, or if you are hungry purchase lunch items and set on the numerous picnic tables to enjoy yourself. Various buildings in tents set up to explore their operation. There is a separate area on the campus to pick your own apples. I was amazed at the size this operation. Expect large crowds in season on the weekend.

Elk Street Brewery & Tap Room

My husband and I loved it here. It was our first time and we will be back. Great food, great beer and wine selection. We had good service and our waitress was friendly. We arrived when they opened but it wasn’t long and the place filled up. Very clean and prices were fair. The pea and peanut salad was really good. The coleslaw was so creamy with excellent flavor.
Shannon S — Google review
Husband ate the elk burger and started to throw up immediately after leaving the restaurant, I ate a few bites of mine food and my stomach was already turning, so I stopped eating ( figured it was just my stomach that was the issue) NOPE the other guy at our table said he was sick when he got home as well. So thankful I didn't bring my kids to eat here 🙌 I wouldn't of wanted them to get sick too. As for the food seriously NOT worth the price. Medium burger dried as hell, chicken dried as hell, only thing that wasn't dry was the tasteless coleslaw.
A R — Google review
Another rare 5⭐️ review in the middle of nowhere. Arrived on a Sunday afternoon “4th of July weeekend” and during the rain. We were able to park on the street and walk to the restaurant. The entrance is right off the Main Street. Walked in about 230pm and there want many people inside. Waited about 2 minutes and was greeted and told to sit where we wanted. Waitress came by very promptly and was friendly and asked if we have ever been here. She explained that the beer was made on site and no other commercial brand beer was available which is great. You can get beer by the pint, flights up to 9 and you can mix in with wine also. They have quite a few wines made on site. Beer was not bad. It is what you would expect from a small batch brewery. Waitress came back and took our order. I explained I had never had an Elk burger or anything Elk for the matter. She said it’s comparable to beef but not as gamey as venison. She also said it is drier than beef so asking for well done is not advised. So I took the chance and got the Elk with smoke Gouda. Wife got the fish tacos and boy got the chicken fingers. Started with pretzels and white cheese sauce which was amazing. Very buttery and seemed like they were homemade but could be wrong though because of there perfect size from pretzel to pretzel. Food came in a very reasonable time, probably about 15-20 minutes. Elk burger was amazing. Not gamey at all. It had a unique tastes which was a sweet like beef taste. It’s hard to explain but it was fantastic. Wife fish taco were delicious as well. Chicken tenders we’re chicken tenders so nothing special there. Even my boy loved the Elk burger which I was shocked. So if you are ever find yourself in the small town of Sandusky you have to stop by and grab an Elk burger and some small batch craft beer. If you a vegan then at least get yourself a pint and support your local watering hole. Well done ESB! Cheers.

Food wasn’t very good, I ordered the Gouda Mac and cheese, and it had little to no cheese, and was cold in the middle and bottom. And it took 30 minutes to get the appetizer and an extra 10 for our actual food. Would not come back.

Small multiscreen theater for new releases features roomy, reserved seats & alcoholic drinks.
I love the Emagine theaters! Best seating, epic sound system, lots of food options, great popcorn, and even a few games in the entryway. Not to mention the ghost piano in the bar that plays music all day. Great location for a movie!

First time here for the throwback of movie clue. Alot of staff standing around talking and took a minute to get my food i ordered but overall not bad. Seats recline, sound is decent. Loud movie next door you could hear during the quiet times of our movie.... but not bad. I'd check out the show times and come back sometime. If you are in the area I'd say stop in and check out the movies.

Great movie theater, very classes for a movie spot . Pretty decent food selection. They also have a very nice sit down area with a piano and nice leather furniture. Only thing I didn't like was I couldn't get my hot food right away they said they would. Bring it to my seat in the theater. I never did get my food and had to get a refund after the movie was over .

I came here with my family for a movie, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst theater experiences I’ve had. When we arrived, I noticed a group of employees standing around the bar, talking with each other instead of helping guests. When I asked for a drink, I was met with a dirty look. After waiting, I asked someone directly for assistance, and was told they weren’t trained to serve drinks and were “just talking to friends.” The tone and attitude felt unprofessional and dismissive. I then asked to speak with a manager, but after waiting a considerable amount of time, no one ever came to address my concerns. For a family outing, I expect staff to be welcoming and attentive. Sadly, that was not the case here.
Chris L — Google review
Me and my friends are 14, and we came to this theater just to have a fun night out. Instead, we ended up getting kicked out for something that really didn’t feel fair at all. Before the movie started, we were talking quietly—nothing loud or disrespectful, just whispering like anyone would while waiting. A man sitting near us turned around and looked annoyed. Then he did it again, even though we weren’t even being loud. Once the movie started, we did get a warning from a staff member. After that, we took it seriously and stayed completely quiet. We didn’t talk, didn’t whisper—just sat and watched the movie like everyone else. We followed the rules and were being respectful. But even after we stopped talking, the same man kept turning around and staring at us like we were still doing something wrong. It felt like he just had a problem with us no matter what. Eventually, someone from the theater came back and told us we had to leave. We were confused and upset because we had listened to the warning and weren’t doing anything anymore. It didn’t matter—we still got kicked out because one guy kept complaining. Nobody else in the theater seemed to care or notice us at all. It was just that one man who kept reacting, and even though we had stopped talking completely, his complaints were still taken more seriously than the fact that we were actually behaving. It honestly felt like we were being treated unfairly just because we were a group of teens. We weren’t causing problems, we weren’t being loud, and we listened when we were told to be quiet. What else were we supposed to do? Getting kicked out like that in front of everyone was embarrassing, and it made us feel like we didn’t belong there—even though we paid for our tickets and followed the rules. This whole situation could’ve been avoided if the staff had taken a moment to see what was actually happening instead of just reacting to one person’s repeated complaints. We’re definitely not coming back to this theater. Nobody deserves to be treated like that, especially when they’re doing everything right.
Dany J — Google review
I recently visited Emagine Theaters for the first time after moving to the area, and the experience was unacceptable. Several staff members were on their phones instead of assisting guests, and one employee in the kitchen even appeared to be watching something on their device. When I went to order food at the concession stand, the person working the popcorn counter gave me a dirty look, as if I was inconveniencing them. The worst part was when I asked to speak with a manager. The employee at the bar literally told me, “the managers don’t have time to deal with this annoying customer.” Like… excuse me? To be called “annoying” just for asking to speak with a manager is beyond unprofessional—it’s flat-out disrespectful. My family and I recently moved here from Kansas, where we regularly went to AMC, and we were hoping Emagine could be our new theater of choice. Instead, our first visit was so negative that we left with the entire night ruined. Emagine, do better. If this is the standard of service you allow, we will be taking our business elsewhere. Another thing. Judging by the reviews I have read about this theater and the response. It basically just sounds like a copy and paste response from this location almost like an Bot. When an normal company would take the time to respond normal to the problems I received at Emagine Macomb.

This used to be my favorite theatre because of it was well maintained and has all the nice perks. But over the past couple years, more so the past year. There's certain movies they don't show and if they do, they don't leave it up long enough. There's limited to no good variety/DIVERSE movies anymore. I had to switch to MJR.

The Mall at Partridge Creek

Shopping mall
Shopping
Relaxed, open-air shopping center featuring brand-name retailers, restaurants & a multiplex cinema.
I had a fantastic experience at the B12 Store in Partridge Creek. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain the benefits of their products, making me feel comfortable and informed. The store was clean, well-organized, and had a welcoming atmosphere. I appreciated the professional service and the quality of the supplements offered. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area and looking to boost your wellness routine!

I don’t really like going here, and im convinced most other residents of Clinton Township don’t like going here either, and you probably like it more because you aren’t from here. But now with Lakeside gone, this is like the only option and so now it’s 10% better than it was before. My complaints come largely from the fact that this is an outdoor mall in a state which should not have an outdoor mall. Coming to this mall in the winter or fall isn’t a very fun experience the way it is during the summer. I think it’s unnecessary to have an outdoor version of sommerset in what I call a “workers town” because, we are mostly working class residents that commute to surrounding cities. Very few of us actually afford to shop here regularly. Beautiful mall, I enjoy coming here to eat and go to the movies but that’s really about it. I suppose that’s the con when it comes to living in a township that props up big business and punishes the small ones that do exist here.

Beautiful, and well kept. A unique mall experience. Highly recommend if you’re looking for year-round entertainment, great shopping and dining. Sola Salons is beautiful. A one stop shop for all of your hair/beauty needs. This mall is safe and secure 24/7.

Ford House, located in Grosse Pointe Shores just outside Detroit, is a historic mansion with a fairy-tale vibe. The estate features 1930s-era architecture and landscaping designed by renowned architect Albert Kahn to resemble the Cotswold cottages of England. The sandstone exterior and slate roof set against breathtaking gardens make it an impossibly romantic photo location. This hidden gem overlooks Lake St.
Beautiful residential museum of art, decor, and collections of their 1920-1950's lifestyle during this time. We were there late March with no wait time. Tours were well organized, and we chose to do only the main residence.

I visited Ford house today, and even though it rained for a bit, I had a great time. The visitors center is a state of art building with a fantastic restaurant & gift shop. The staff and service staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. I was pleasantly surprised that they even have a on site shuttle to get to each party of the estate if you didn't want to walk or get wet from the rain. This is a must-see stop.

What a Majestic estate to visit. The grounds are meticulous and well manicured. I love coming here on a lovely afternoon and walking the grounds that are rich in Detroit history Can you imagine growing up living here? Coming from a true Pioneer of the automotive industry back in the early 20th century Those are the thoughts that run through my mind as I look at the beautiful Willow trees that sway in the wind along the shoreline of Lake Saint Clair

This was such a wonderful experience. My partner brought me here as a surprise for my birthday so I don't know too much about the purchasing ticket process, but I know we arrived a little late and the woman in the visitors center moved us up to give us enough time to get to the main house. Shuttles are plentiful if you can't or don't want to walk. We took a shuttle from the visitors center to the main house but then walked the way back. It seems a lot further than it is, but the views especially in the time we went in the year were amazing. The docents were all helpful and willing to answer questions. The estate itself is beautiful. If you love history, or just want to even have a nice place to go enjoy the water or have lunch at their restaurant it is great. The food at the restaurant was amazing I highly recommend. Overall a wonderful experience, a nice quiet pocket in an otherwise busy city.

This was an amazing place to visit and we were impressed by how every detail was thought of. The docents were plentiful and full of information and interesting stories about the history of the estate and the Edsel and Eleanor Ford family. We ate in the wonderful restaurant in the welcome center and enjoyed a delicious meal and attentive service. The gift shop was bright and full of beautiful remembrances! Our shuttle driver was very friendly and we appreciated her tips and kind suggestions. We especially enjoyed going to the garage and seeing Edsel Ford’s personal collection of cars that were more like artwork! I would highly recommend visiting this wonderful estate.

This place was so incredibly pretty. I was with my special friend and I wanted to see the water going to the Ford house. Allow me to do that. The staff was friendly. The place was beautiful. We have been to the Thanksgiving Day buffet in the past and it was good but this year they really upped their game!! The food was great and so many choices!! Our server, Kaitlyn, was awesome! And they used their banquet venue, which is beautiful!! Thanks for bringing in a tv to watch the Lions!! Perfect!!

Very nice resort. Has 2 full 18 hole golf courses, spa services, 2 on site restaurants. Only a few minutes down the road to MI east coast. I do wish on the website it was emphasized that everything needs reservations. Courses were very well maintained even being early in the year and wet. We had dinner at Emilios and it was phenomenal.

An Unforgettable Celebration of Life at Emilio’s Prime Steakhouse – A Beautiful Tribute to My Dad We recently held a celebration of life for my dad at Emilio’s Prime, and I can’t begin to describe how grateful we are for the incredible experience they created for our family and friends. From the moment we arrived, it was handled with care, grace, and exceptional attention to every detail. The venue itself was absolutely stunning—elegant, warm, and immaculately clean. It provided the perfect setting for both reflection and celebration. The service was extraordinary. The team at Emilio’s went above and beyond in every way. Their compassion, professionalism, and attentiveness made the day feel seamless and stress-free. They were always one step ahead, anticipating needs we hadn’t even thought of, and ensuring every guest felt welcomed and cared for. And the food—awesome. Everything was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The guests commented on how beautiful and clean the rooms were - one was even given an extremely late check out to attend the event. Hosting my dad’s celebration of life at Emilio’s Prime was one of the best decisions we could have made. They turned a difficult moment into a day of love, remembrance, and fun. We will never forget the kindness and excellence they showed us. I wholeheartedly recommend Emilio’s Prime for anyone looking to honor a loved one with dignity, beauty, and care. From the bottom of our hearts—thank you.

Recently discovered their Happy Hour, and would recommend anyone with time to kill to go and check it out, and tip well (the drinks are cheap, doesn’t mean y’all have to be). We live locally, so I cannot comment on any of the rooms or the hotel side of things, but Tyler (Bartender at San Marino) and Savanah (Apologies on spelling) provided excellent conversation, are knowledgeable about what they do (for the people that care about that sort of thing), and just genuinely seem like good people. We will be returning in the future, and are eagerly awaiting the return of the chef’s (A+ Hummus. The Garlic Truffle Fries are also good, and I generally detest any fungus that doesn’t contain Psilocybin.) Mediterranean Cooking Class as we missed it the first time. Also, I don’t give two shakes about golf, but people say nice things.

Recently returned home from an annual golf weekend at Lakeview Hills. Both courses were in great shape, and the greens were excellent across all 36 holes. As always, our group enjoyed another great weekend. Rooms, food, and customer service were all first class. Enjoyed seeing the recent renovations to the property after following along on social media. A lot to be excited about going forward. If you’ve not been by in a while you’re missing out!

We just played the North 18. The course was very nice from the tee box to the green ⛳️ , with nice informational signs for the hole. However, I did. Not rate a 5 because I expected a little more for $ 70. The carts were slow, didn't have any covers, or any technology providing hole information, like they do at Solitude Links for the same price.

I traveled from Virginia to Ohio, then from Cleveland to Lexington with a friend to see 1964 The Tribute (Beatles) there. We saw both shows (October 25th and 26th). I loved the venue and the performance, as always. We ate dinner both nights, and lunch at the adjoining pub. I plan to return there next year.

Just an INCREDIBLE VENUE! Our 80's mixtape band, The 1985, just played at Lexington Village Theatre. We had a BLAST! The attention to detail that the staff gives to every aspect of the patron (and band) experience is literally off the charts. People are treated like VIPs no matter if they bought VIP seating or not. Sound system is perfectly tuned for the room with great presence and clarity along with the 80’s pump that fits our music. Collin, Josh, Mike and team are amazing people to work with. They have a dedication that goes far beyond most venues. Plus we got to stay in their amazing Village Suite which was one of the most classy accommodations we have ever experienced as a band in 7 years! We are SO grateful for the amazing time we had with the great fans who joined us! Our pics are attached. The live experience was absolutely amazing! Thanks again to everyone who came out. Hope to be back soon! Thanks again Lexington Village Theatre staff and patrons. Y’all rock!

I can’t believe I’ve never heard of this place before. I just happened to find a listing for a concert “The Red Hot Chilli Pipers” on August 7. I mistakenly thought they were the Peppers and not the Pipers. But I read about the most famous bag pipers in the world and they played for HRM, The Queen 👸🏼 🇬🇧 and I said, heck yeah! I paid $47 a piece for 3 tickets and sat in the front row in this intimate theatre and we had the time of our lives. What a cool venue to see live entertainment. I definitely recommend coming here to catch a live show be it music 🎶 or a comedy 🎭 act. This theatre is small and there probably isn’t a bad seat in the house. And definitely, if the Red Hot Chilli Pipers are playing here again, make sure to get tickets. You will not be disappointed! You can stroll down to the Lexington state harbor to see boats and ducks prior to the show. I can’t wait to come back here again. Cool town, fantastic theatre and great entertainment. You get 5 stars ⭐️ from me!

This is a clean and modern theater that can seat about 300 people. Having arrived just before the show, I had a hard time finding a place to park. Restrooms were clean but small - - there was a short line for ladies and gents. There is a small bar for alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. It is open at intermission and before a show. Drinks are allowed in the theater seats. The first few rows have bistro tables between every other seat.

State Parks
Nestled along the banks of the St. Clair River, Algonac State Park is a stunning destination that spans over 1,000 acres and showcases rare oak savannahs. This park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts year-round, offering excellent camping opportunities alongside picturesque views of river freighters gliding by. Fishing draws many visitors eager to enjoy quality time in nature, while hiking trails and cross-country skiing provide adventure seekers with plenty of options to explore the scenic landscape.
First time here and they just got done fixing it up and putting in more full hook up sites. We went mid April ao the water wasn't turned on yet but you could fill up at the front. There was nobody at the booth so you just checked in with the yellow phone. It was beautiful watching the boats go by. Not a lot of tree cover so it probably gets hot in the summer and if you have small children I wouldn't get a site right next to the river since it's a super busy road and not a fence that will keep kids in. We will definitely be back to this park.
Alicia C — Google review
Awesome state park with lots of privacy and cool views of the freighters going down the river. We stayed in the wagon wheel part of the campground and it was nice with every lot having a pretty level asphalt pad to park on. Some of the spots are a little tight with all the trees around but nothing too crazy just might have to ask your neighbors to move their trucks. The bathrooms were older and outdated but fairly clean and well stocked for the most part. The front area of the campground would be a nice part as well but it’s a lot more like a crowded parking lot. We liked the wagon wheel because there lots were so private.

We camped in algonac state park, it was beautiful. Great campground with fun views of the St. Clair River. Check-in was easy and park is well kept. Playgrounds are very small (swings and a slide), but there is an amazing bike path which does lead to a big playground and dog park. Highly recommend bringing bikes. There are also lots of picnic spots with a large field to play, horse shoe, and corn hole. Dump stations were probably the best we ever experienced with 4 stations and all equipment you would need without having to unpack your own including a sewer hose already attached to the drain, water hose, and a bucket for filling with water.
Aubrey P — Google review
Algonac state park sites 213 (fifth wheel) 214(travel trailer) and 215 (empty) 216 is also empty in the background of 215 so dont go thinking it is just a massive site lol As the state website says, yes on 214 we did need an additional hose, luckily we heeded the warning and were prepared. As a side note, a fair amount of the lot is located on the slide out side of the camper. Not bad for setting up and at least there isn't an obstacle blocking things but it does make the site feel smaller than other state parks once in place because it has a lot of wasted space on that side. Still plenty of room on the awning side to be comfortable but I thought it was worth noting for informational purposes. Also the sewer setup is new and I am happy to say that the opening for the sewer connection is well below the level of the trailer so that it drains properly (unlike the last full setup we had at a non state park site). For sure, 214 in particular, the parking pad is nice and level but it has a significant drop off to the lawn area of the site. Our 3 step unit is usually set quite short as our trailer does not sit insanely high off the ground. At this site our legs are fully extended and we had to put some 1 inch pads under the stair legs in order to get them to sit nicely. Still fits but the bottom step is a bit taller than most would like it to be, especially for someone with mobility issues (like my parents in the fifth wheel next door.). None of this is meant to be a complaint, purely informational. Overall the site is beautiful, the agent at check in was personable, we had no trouble getting in our space (though there is a tree that goes right up against the back of the parking pad on 214 and it meant there was not enough room to park our truck in front of our trailer which is 30 feet from tip to tail.). The view of the water from these sites isn't amazing but it is there. If you are desperate to see the ships go by it can be done from the site or a short walk down the street leaves a decent view as well. This page warned us of bugs at this park this year but so far it has not been bad. Just a few gnats flying around at dusk, but there are a lot of ants it seems. Still overall I highly recommend this park and these sites are pretty solid all around. (P.s. of all these three sites, 214 is the only one with no natural shade at any point during the day). Also the shooting range is perfectly adequate and exceeded expectations. But still is far enough away from the campsites that it does not disturb anyone. P.P.S. the cell phone service signal coverage area is fantastic. I am sitting on my site right now and have 2 to 3 bars of 5g Verizon service.
Jessie B — Google review
I cant really find any negatives. Will be coming back next year. I guess if you dont like guns or gun noise there is a shooting range here that you can hear from time to time. Fun to watch freighter go by on the river.

Great place to camp with the family. Seeing the boats was absolutely amazing for the first time. They were HUGE. We will definitely be coming back
Nick K — Google review
Great place to watch freighter. Campground is clean and well maintained, although they could do with fill dirt in many of the camp sites. We had a pretty good pot hole in our site. Another had a small standing puddle after a rain and several other sites had potholes as well.

Fort Gratiot Lighthouse

Mentioned on

Historical landmark
The Fort Gratiot Lighthouse, built in 1829 at Fort Gratiot to protect shipping at Point Edward, is Michigan's oldest lighthouse. It served during the War of 1812 and remained operational until 1879. Visitors can tour the lighthouse, climbing its 94 iron stairs for panoramic views of Michigan's rivers and lakes from the catwalk.
We truly enjoyed visiting Michigan's oldest lighthouse. You can buy tickets to have a tour of the grounds and buildings and make the climb to the top of the lighthouse. My husband and I were married here 10 years ago and wanted to take it all in, again. The staff is amazing! The views are incredible! The park next store to the historic area is very family-friendly for picnicking and swimming at the beach. It also has a great playground and lots of trees for shade.

Really enjoyed our visit. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and personable. The caretakers home was amazing. We visit a lot of historical homes and this was the first time I could touch things, pick them up and sit on furniture! So great to step back in time! The lighthouse itself was beautiful! Steps going up weren't difficult for me and the view at the top was spectacular! Really enjoyed our time at the top. Going down...that was a little more spooky than I expected, but totally doable.
Becky M — Google review
It was unexpected that I had a phenomenal private tour of the lighthouse by the Lighthouse Keeper. The keeper was personable, passionate about her work, friendly, and patience with all the questions I had. We started the tour with an explanation of the lightbulbs; usage, changes, etc. Then we talked about the different Lighthouse Keepers - their histories and experiences. We then visited different houses to see how life was to be a Lighthouse Keeper. I enjoyed the Lighthouse Keeper's house the best. I was able to touch things, see old appliances and got to see all the rooms in the house. Lastly, it was the tour of the lighthouse. I wasn't going to walk the narrow spiral staircase but the Keeper insisted that I can take my time walking (I use a cane to walk) up. When we reached the top, fog was rolling in. However, I still had beautiful views. I was able to walk around the top and the walk gave me a sense what life was like for the Lighthouse Keeper. This is an experience I won't forget to actually be at the top of the lighthouse.
Pamela L — Google review
The lighthouse is massive! It's taller than it appears in person. The inside was closed when we first arrived. We came back on the weekend and the inside was open for people to go inside for a $5 donation. It was a really hot day and there are a lot of steps and no air conditioning. I passed on going inside. I'm sure that it is a great experience for those that want to take the hike to the top. The beach below the lighthouse is awesome! We played in the water for hours and collected many pretty rocks.

I recommend climbing the lighthouse. I am afraid if heights & clumbed the 94 steps to the top & stepped out into the landing. You get a beutiful view of Lake Huron, Blue Water Bridge & Canada. My husband even got me a necklace of the lighthouse in the gift shop for climbing it.

The Blue Water Bridge is a stunning architectural marvel that connects Sarnia to the United States, offering breathtaking views of the sky-blue water and beautiful waterfront. This border community provides easy access to major markets in both Canada and the U.S., making it an ideal destination for travelers. The bridge itself may not be as visually striking as others, but its functionality and efficiency make it a popular choice for crossing between the two countries.
It is a sight to see! With a raging river below and tons of boats, working their way up that river to escape into Lake Huron. There is a fantastic trail leading down the waterfront, lots going on with the park beside the trail and food trucks, etc.

Can be chaotic I'm backed up at times the view at the top of the bridges are wonderful when you're over the river p definitely not for the faint-hearted or the person that is scared of heights. What walking under the bridge at the boardwalk or fishing off the boardwalk under the bridge is great delight you can catch him anything along with walleye and salmon or see people scuba diving along the river

Unfortunately if we would have had kids there which we would enjoy the pool but couldn't because it was filthy the floors the bathrooms. The room stunk I don't know if it was the carpeting or what it was we complained and they brought us up a bottle of breeze to spray all over our room we've got pictures that will be included not impressed with this place at all, there was food inside the air conditioner that made it stink trying to cool our room down the faucet and the tub ran and ran and ran, fix holes in the walls, wallpaper coming apart just totally disappointed!!!!

Blue water bridge, heading to Sarnia from Port Huron. This is my favorite border to travel of the two here in Michigan I’ve been to so far, ambassador and blue water. I think there’s typically less traffic, the border workers are a bit nicer and I think the bridge is a little nicer too. I love taking this way and heading up to London.

Quiet beautiful place. Perfect for summer beach day with family. We went on this year Aug 3 with group of 20. Enjoyed this place. Enough parking at beach. Life guard and washroom facilities. Cleaned pebel beach. Only thing at 10' from shore it has water upto neck and left side river causing high current. Definitely need to keep an eye on small kids that they fo not go in too far. Swiming and snorkeling is good idea here. Nice view for sailing boat and vessels. Lots tree at shore provides good shades.

Beautiful day - 17 degrees. Feb. 9/24 The sand was quite clean which made our walk enjoyable all along the beach. The park itself is quite large with many people out and about today, along with their canine friends. There was one brave soul who tested the water! The park was full of green trees and colorful flowers that made the whole place look amazing. The best part was feeling so peaceful. I walked by the water and felt calm with the sound of the waves. And the sunset? It was like a painting in the sky, with beautiful colors that made me stop and stare. I can say, this place isn't just a park—it's a place where you can make great memories and feel the magic of nature all around you. Whether you're looking for adventure or just a peaceful time, Canatara Beach & Park has it all! Attached photos are 📸 below.

Huge park with long Blue Flag Beach recognition. Lots of parking close to the beach. I only went to the beach area further into the park but the beach stretches for a long length. There was an icecream cart there and washroom facility (no showers) with foot wash station and charging plug for electric wheelchair. Washroom building opened from 8:00am-9:00pm. Building also houses a lifeguard station. There was lifeguard supervision in sessions of the beach as signage indicated. Beach was sandy with some pebbles. Monitored with video cameras. I enjoyed the beach, especially watching the water skiers and boats going by when I was relaxing and not in the water; however, I was NOT impressed with the litter people left on the beach...such a surprise! The beach closer to the entrance has showers and more facilities. As for the park itself, it is huge with lots of picnic tables and shady areas, trails, playgrounds, children's zoo, bike park with moguls. You can spend all day there if you want.

Excellent, clean beach. The day we went, the sand was a little rocky but the water was very calm. It's a couple of minutes away from the petting zoo so makes for a great day out. There are family bathrooms with change table.

Nice beach . It's still early in the season and facilities are closed. The weather is starting to get nice, maybe summer will finally show its face. There is a ton of nearly kept trails, and the sunset / sunrise are gorgeous here on lake huron. I prefer the sunrises as there are very few people in the morning. Plenty of parking and benches to just sit and relax to enjoy the park. A note to dog owners, the beaches are off limits to them as the city has a bylaw in place, although I've seen a few people walking their dogs early on. Personally i have no issues with that as all the owners I've seen are responsible.

Beautiful beach, trails for walking and biking. Lots of parking for RVs, cars, etc. Shaded areas or full sun. Family events taking place. A must stop when in Sarnia.

I have been going to this museum since I was in elementary school, and even now at 19 I love it just as much. I was devastated when it closed, but so thankful that they were able to reopen! There are so many amazing pieces of taxidermy here and the exhibits are incredible, you can spend an hour in each room. The prices are incredible too. I couldn’t believe it was still only $7! The gift shop is lovely too. And most importantly, the two women who were working were amazing. They were so enthusiastic about answering questions and really made the experience beautiful. I recommend coming here to literally anyone! It’s a great place for kids and adults!!

I am very glad that I was able to visit this museum. The photos do not convey the quality of the exhibits, the quality is very high. The museum has two floors and many rooms. The staff was very friendly. A volunteer named Kevin told many fascinating stories for my children. If you have the opportunity, visit this beautiful place before it closes.

Absolutely amazing! This place is loaded with displays; stunning, colourful, and so varied you never know what’s around the next corner. From ancient fossils and sparkling shells to incredible taxidermy, every room feels like a new adventure. It’s the kind of spot where you just keep saying “wow” as you walk through. The admission prices are *incredibly* reasonable and it’s a total gem for homeschoolers with endless opportunities to learn about science, history, and nature. We’ll definitely be back!
