You and your friends have to plan a day trip to the Victoria Golf Resort near Kandy. It's not just for golfers; it's an amazing place to just escape and hang out for the day. The whole resort is absolutely stunning, surrounded by lush green landscapes with incredible views overlooking the Victoria Reservoir. I went there recently with my friends for high tea, and we had the best time. The atmosphere is just so peaceful and beautiful. We started off by playing a few games of tennis and badminton – they have great courts and all the equipment you need is available, which was super convenient. It was a ton of fun and a great way to spend the afternoon being active. After our games, we settled in for their high tea, and it was the perfect way to relax. The food was delicious, with a lovely spread of sandwiches, cakes, and scones, and enjoying it all while taking in those gorgeous views was just perfect. Honestly, it was such a fun day out. It’s a fantastic spot to just chill, enjoy the amazing atmosphere, play some sports, and eat good food. I would definitely recommend it for a weekend activity with friends. You'll have a great time!

Mountains
Little Adam's Peak is a must-visit destination in Ella, Sri Lanka. Unlike its namesake, the sacred Adams Peak, this smaller peak offers a more manageable and enjoyable hiking experience. The trailhead can be found near 98 Acres Resort and Spa, accessible via the Ella-Passara Road. The well-marked pathway leads through low scrub and wild grass to the 1,141-meter summit.
Beautiful, panoramic views of tea plantations and misty hills. The hike is relatively easy and manageable for most people. It doesn’t demand high fitness; well-marked paths, stairs, moderate uphill stretches. Best times are early morning (sunrise) or late afternoon (sunset) to avoid crowds & enjoy cooler weather. Overall, Little Adam’s Peak is a fairly easy, highly rewarding hike — especially if you like nature, scenic views and want something less strenuous than big peaks.
Kevin G — Google review
Little Adam’s Peak is a solid “must do” for anyone visiting Ella, especially if you like hikes that are rewarding but not overly taxing. If the weather is clear and you go early, you’re likely to enjoy one of the most beautiful short hikes in the area. But don’t expect a completely flat or trivial walk — there are inclines and stairs, and depending on your fitness, you might find some parts challenging.
Wajira A — Google review
Must visit place if you’re a scenery chaser. A very simple climb to the top, great view and vibes. Wasn’t super crowded and the clouds covering up the view towards evening is very very beautiful.

Visiting Little Adam’s Peak in Ella was an amazing experience. The hike is enjoyable and not too difficult, and the views at the top are absolutely beautiful. Make sure to bring a water bottle with you — but please don’t throw it away, as it’s important to keep the place clean. Little Adam’s Peak is maintained by the 98 Acres Hotel Group, and they are doing an excellent job. The area is well-organized, clean, and very visitor-friendly. They also offer a variety of exciting activities such as bungee jumping, ATV rides, rope climbing, a mountain swing, and a zipline. If you have the time, you should definitely try these activities — they make the experience even more fun and memorable.
Chandu A — Google review
This is one of the must-visit places in Sri Lanka. It’s a small hike, but absolutely worth the climb! We went around 5 AM to watch the sunrise — the view was breathtaking. The place was full of foreigners when we visited, yet everyone enjoyed the scenery peacefully without disturbing others. We spent about an hour and a half there and had the best time. Highly recommended for anyone who loves exploring beautiful views and relaxing their mind.

Ramboda Falls

Waterfalls
This tiered waterfall along the Panna Oya river drops from a height of 109 meters.
Visited Ramboda Waterfall recently, and it was absolutely amazing. The view was breathtaking, with water cascading down the rocks surrounded by lush greenery. The atmosphere was peaceful and refreshing—perfect for a short escape into nature. The cool mist from the falls added to the experience, making it feel truly magical. It’s a must-visit spot if you’re exploring Sri Lanka’s hill country. I highly recommend it!
Rashadh A — Google review
I went on a trip with my friends to Ramboda Waterfall. The view from the upper viewpoint was amazing, and swimming at the bottom was really refreshing. A beautiful spot for both sightseeing and enjoying the water! 🌊🏞️ Note: Avoid swimming during the rainy season.
Yogi J — Google review
What a scenic place with an easy hike. You have to just climb approximately 850m up the stairs with a ticket of Rs. 50/=. You can see a beautiful waterfall when you go up. The water under that is not that deep, so you can have a fine bath. Also, if you wanna go very close to the waterfall, that’s also possible, but, it’s kind of risky, since it’s slippery. When you go to the sandy part and look around, you feel like you are in a whole different place. ❤️🥹 A-must-visit place if you are travelling to Nuwara Eliya. 💦
Singhe S — Google review
Our Tuktuk driver recommended us visiting this waterfall instead of Lovers Leap and in hindsight, I couldn’t agree more with him. We had to pay 200 LKR for entry, but it’s more than worth that. The hike is advertised as easy but I would recommend people bring water and put on hiking shoes. Also bring long socks so the leeches don’t get you. You can swim which we didn’t because it was too cold, but it looks lovely.
Tristan — Google review
The sound of the rushing water and the cool breeze make it such a peaceful and refreshing place to visit. The waterfall itself is tall, powerful, and picture-perfect — a must-see spot for anyone traveling through Sri Lanka’s hill country. If you love nature, this place will leave you speechless. Don’t forget your camera — every angle is stunning! 🌊 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience the beauty of Sri Lanka!
Azeez A — Google review
It’s a beautiful falls. We are going to nuwara elly from Kandy. Then we stop here. We also walked all the way to top of the falls. It’s worth it. You must visit this fall if you’re going visit this place .
Md F — Google review
It was raining when I visited it and I was alone there. Super waterfall and great photo opportunity. There was more water falling due to the rain and it was super cool and mighty. Entrance is 200rupee and it is worth it. The climb is easy even with regular sneakers. After seeing this waterfall I skipped all the rest that were on my itinerary.
Nurseit N — Google review
After about a 500-meter hike up stairs of various sizes, your jaw will drop. You walk alongside the river, but when you reach the waterfall, it’s truly breathtaking.

Ella Rock Trailhead

Geologic Formations
Ella Rock Trailhead is a must-visit when in Ella. The trail, starting at Ella train station, offers a 10 km hike through tea plantations, bridges, and eucalyptus forests. With an altitude of 1,348 m, the climb is not too strenuous but can be confusing due to unclear signposting. It's advisable to check the weather forecast before setting out and to carry sufficient water and food.
A beautiful hike - you do not need a guide there are many different paths that take you there and you can easily do it alone! You have to pay for the 1st viewpoint but we just went around it and got to the 2nd viewpoint which is free and just as beautiful! Take a small detour to visit the forest monastery ( 3 simple structures with 4 lovely monks living there - no tourists around, a great spot for some quiet contemplation in the mountains)
Livia G — Google review
Great hike with beautiful views! We hiked Ella Rock from Tree House Hostel and it took us about 1.5 hours to the top. The hike is not too difficult, just follow the train tracks for the first part. Important tip: after walking along the tracks, you’ll pass a small house on the left – take the path next to it. Then you’ll cross a little bridge with a waterfall. Apps like Maps.me will tell you to go straight after the bridge, but that’s wrong. You should turn right through the tea fields and follow the trail marked with orange dots on the trees. The trail is clear from there and the views from the top are definitely worth it. Start early to avoid the heat and the crowds.
Allard B — Google review
A short but engaging hike, with two stellar vistas at the peak. I recommend leaving early to avoid the heat and moisture. The initial path is rather confusing, but the locals are very helpful. You need to pay when you reach the top, but I recommend going around because the price is a bit unfair (930! I’ve been to parks for 100)
Asaf S — Google review
Loved it! There’s snack stalls along the way with fresh juice and coconut water. I’d recommend getting one as they’re divine and support local people outside of the Ella High street. Hike had some steep / unstable surfaces so worth considering. Not sure it would be suitable in the rain because of this.
Meg S — Google review
Recommended hike, there are some climbs a bit demanding but nothing impossible, very nice departure from Kithe Ella station, upon arrival at the summit you have to pay and there are two view points, marked path
Nicolò B — Google review
Beautiful trail. Highly recommend. For experienced / fit hikers it is easy. The last 400m is steep but not technically challenging. It will be hard to old or unfit people. A few of things to be aware of: 1) at the top there is a ticket counter trying to get you to pay 950 rupees to access the two Ella rock viewpoints. Here’s what to do instead. Just before reaching the top of the climb, you’ll see a ticket counter on your left. Instead of going there, take the small trail on your right — this will let you skip the entry fee. Follow this dirt path until you pass a wooden shack on your left, then keep going straight. The trail will lead you directly to the second viewpoint. This way you can see both without paying the very obvious scam fee. 2) along the railroad multiple locals will tell you you’re going the wrong way and try to redirect you - these are scams. Get to the tea plantation and cross the bridge to access the correct trail entrance. 3) To find the trailhead, Follow the videos posted in this thread. But beware that currently locals have blocked off the correct trail entrance with tree branches. This is likely to confuse you and make you more susceptible to redirection. Just go around the blockade and rejoin the trail - you will be fine. Alternatively, follow the green dotted line in google maps, or use AllTrails for a detailed trail map.
Niveet S — Google review
First track is quite easy but if you want to continue and go to other peaks it will get harder. Make sure to have water and good shoes. Totally worth it!
Fabio A — Google review
There is really no signs and if it were not for the grace of a local farmer who rescued us after we took a very bad wrong turn we would have been covered in leeches and very very lost. We ended up not going up but followed the rail track and saw the train up close as it went past

The Blue Field Tea Center is a restaurant in Nuwara Eliya that serves delicious teas. After paying for your tea, you can go on a factory tour which is very informative. They also have a store where you can buy tea directly from them.
Nethmini gave me a clear introduction of the tea made, every step! She also brought me to get a taste of tea picking and taking some photos for me. I really happy to having time with this sweet lady. Beyond the guide but like friends.
Chan P — Google review
A nicely designed restaurant mainly focusing the foreign guests. The main focus is to sell tea and provide refreshments to visitors to tea factory and who take on the safari to Ramboda falls. Limited food/snacks options, mostly sweet and unhealthy snacks. The tea is fine but most of the beverages specially the coffee are overpriced. Friendly service. Ample parking. Great views and fresh air. The toilets are moderately clean. Overall a good place to take a break specially as an alternative to the Damro Labukelle Restaurant when it is overcrowded on peak days.
Sudheera S — Google review
A fantastic stop! They offer explanations about the tea-making process, showcasing how traditional methods and machinery are used. You can even witness real-time tea leaf picking. Their store has a great selection of high-quality organic teas and powders...
SAFNI M — Google review
This place was an amazing experience, we did the factory tour; as we did the tea plucking elsewhere. But we found out this place offers both. The tour was very informative, while being very visual as well. Once the tour was done, we went to the cafe to try their tea. Some of the best tea I have had, their food wasn’t anything amazing but it was still nice. The view is great with their tea fields everywhere. If you are near this area, I highly recommend trying this place, especially if you are interested in learning how tea is made
Josh B — Google review
A quick trip with a lovely guide. The tea picking experience was a bit of a tourist thing and the 'free' tour of the factory was very good but ... the tea is ridiculously expensive. They can easily give free tours when they are charging £17 for 20g of tea! I nearly fainted when they gave me the bill!

Free visiting 1000rs tip for visiting. Photo tip 1500rs. Milk Tea dégustation 300rs. (Simple black tea is free). Box of tea 100g, 1200rs.

Wonderful experience at Blue Field Tea! The tea was delicious and authentic, and the beautiful surroundings made it even more enjoyable. Thank you for the warm hospitality and excellent service.”

Very nice place to be honest but the service is the WORST they prefer tourists more than the local people, they don't have slightest care about us but they personally direct tourists to a sitting place I really hope a manager or anyone higher see this and change it. For the note me and my mom ordered honey & lemon and ginger tea both tastes the same.

Read the views so decided not to do the tour but headed up there to enjoy the views and look around outside the factory. There is a tea room there with spectacular views over the tea plants. We had two cups of tea which cost a mere 200 rupees, and ate our picnic. We really enjoyed the tea and views.
Mary C — Google review
Go early to see the factory working. The tea processing happens overnight so arrive at the visitors centre at 8am when it opens for a tour. No photos are allowed inside unfortunately. Don’t do the plucking tour. You get given a back bag and taught what to pick then given 20 minutes to collect tea.
Karen L — Google review
Beautiful experience without a ton of tourist. The factory tour took about 20mins and showed the whole process. The lady doing the tour explained everything clearly and answered all our questions. We also did the tea picking experience where she showed us which leaves to pick and then let us to enjoy the views and take pictures. After all the tourist traps we were directed to, this was a really great experience.

Had an amazing experience at Pedro Tea Factory! The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and the tour was very informative. learned a lot about the tea-making process, and the staff was welcoming and knowledgeable. Definitely a must-visit spot in Nuwara Eliya!
Rameen N — Google review
Extremely Disappointed – Not Worth the Money! Pedro Tea Factory is an absolute rip-off! They charge 1000 rupees just for a basic factory visit – no complimentary tea, no plantation walk, nothing extra. That price is outrageous considering other tea factories in the area offer much better service and a more immersive experience for half the price or even free. On top of that, the staff were shockingly rude and unwelcoming. They clearly don’t care about tourists or customer service. It felt like we were an inconvenience to them. There are plenty of other tea factories in Nuwara Eliya that are far more worth your time and money. Don’t waste either of those at Pedro. Highly disappointing.
Tiran K — Google review
Honestly, I don’t know why the reviews of this place are as good as they are. The landscape is beautiful and we liked that we could walk through the tea plantation, but the staff was not very friendly and didn’t really seem to care that we were there. If you want a factory tour or to do some tea picking it will cost you 1000 rupees each activity. We did the picking because we had done a factory tour of Labookellie yesterday (great tour, great staff, and a FREE tour). We got about 2 mins of instruction and then we just picked a couple leafs for a photo. Not worth it. If you want to tour a factory, just go to Labookellie. If you really want to go into a tea plantation, come here and just go for a walk - don’t pay for the picking.
Mark D — Google review
Very poor customer service by an employee called Kaushi. We arrived first for the tea tour and were told to wait by an employee named Kaushi. After waiting over 40 minutes with no update, we saw her start the tour with another family who arrived much later. When I approached her, she simply said, “Sorry, I forgot about you.” Then we had to wait until she completes tour for others, as she forgot about us. While we were seater in the waiting area, which Kaushi showed us. We were first one to arrive and in total waiting time was more than 1 h! Very unprofessional and upsetting experience. Hope they improve their training and customer care. The tour itself was short, not worth it.

Victoria Park is a very nice place to visit, especially in the evening with family, friends, and children. It’s a relaxing spot — cool and peaceful in the morning and evening, though a bit sunny during the day 🌞. The ticket price is 120 LKR for local adults and 60 LKR for children. You can stay here until 6:30 PM.

You can easily find this place. Multiple entrance there. Tickets price 120 for per person. The wind was high. But still you can enjoy the nature. But this place can be improved more to attract more people. There are sign mentioned not to pluck flowers from the garden. Not much bug park. Children can enjoy. You can park vehicles from the outside the garden. There is a restaurant available. Security guards there.can spend some time there. Also photography service available on extra charge.

Botanical garden in Nuwara Eliya with hundreds of species of plants on display. It also has a jade garden built by a Japanese ambassador during the British raj. There is an entry fee for foreign tourists. Plenty of sections like rose garden, tulip gardens etc. and great options for Insta enthusiasts to take pictures.

I visited Victoria Park in Nuwara Eliya recently. It’s a beautiful place with lots of greenery and a peaceful atmosphere, but unfortunately the children’s park is not well maintained. Some of the play areas need proper care and improvement. With better maintenance, it could be a wonderful spot for families to enjoy.

Most amazing park I've ever been to. It's a must visit in Nuwara Eliya. Saw many types of plants and birds and took many beautiful pictures there. The fee for adults is only 1000 LKR which is good in my opinion.

“An unforgettable experience! Horton Plains is one of the most beautiful and well-preserved nature reserves in Sri Lanka. From the moment you enter, you're surrounded by cool mountain air, peaceful silence, and stunning scenery. The 9.5 km circular trail is perfect for nature lovers and offers a mix of grasslands, cloud forests, and waterfalls. The highlight, of course, is World’s End — a dramatic cliff with panoramic views that will take your breath away. On clear mornings, you can see all the way to the south coast. Baker’s Falls is another gem along the trail, with refreshing mist and a picture-perfect view. You’ll likely spot wildlife too — like sambar deer, birds, and unique plants found nowhere else. Christ Church Warleigh, Dickoya - Church of Ceylon

Anglican church
Sights & Landmarks
Churches & Cathedrals
Christ Church Warleigh in Dickoya is a beautiful and peaceful place surrounded by stunning hill country scenery. Built in 1878, its charming architecture, serene interiors, and views of Lake Castlereagh make it a special spot to visit. Perfect for quiet reflection or enjoying the history and beauty of the area.
Venu N — Google review
This Anglican church built during the colonial era has been preserved and well maintained. Originally used by the tea planters and their families. The little graveyard is filled with tombstones of the community. The first British colonial Inspector General of the Ceylon Police, Sir George William Robert Campbell is believed to be buried here. The highlights are - the beautiful stained glass windows (depicting the highlights of the life of Jesus Christ), a century old pipe organ and the Bible, designer floor tiles, all brought down from the UK. Most of the furniture and fittings are also original. The care taker Brian was helpful and knowledgeable of the historical importance and details of the place. The old pipe organ is currently defunct pending some essential repairs, but they are still searching for a person/company to do the repairs. A vintage Yamaha wind organ is being used temporarily. The efforts by the Church of Ceylon, the vicar and the management to maintain the church in this excellent condition is commendable. Location, overseeing the Castlereigh Reservoir, is perfect. A place you mustn't miss if you are in/passing the area. A full walkthrough will take approx. 30 minutes and ideal times of visit are mornings or evenings. Be prepared with some currency for a donation, which isn't mandatory but customary.

🌿⛪ Christ Church, Dickoya Tucked away in the tea country, this little church feels like a doorway to another time. The stone walls whisper stories from the colonial past, while the cool mist outside paints a picture you won’t find anywhere else. It’s not just a church – it’s a moment of calm, framed by rolling hills and endless green. A visit here is like pausing life for a while – history, faith, and nature blending into one beautiful scene. ✨

A beautiful historic church and cemetery. We were lucky to get the chance to go inside the church, and it was absolutely lovely. The place also offers a great view of the Castlereigh Reservoir. If you’re visiting Dick Oya, this is definitely a must-visit spot!

Christ Church Warleigh, Dickoya is a hidden gem nestled in the misty hills of Sri Lanka's Central Province. Built in 1878 during British colonial rule, this Anglican church is administered by the Church of Ceylon and stands as a testament to the island's rich colonial heritage . The church's Gothic architecture, characterized by pointed arches and ribbed vaults, reflects the design sensibilities of the era . Inside, visitors are greeted by original 19th-century stained glass windows depicting biblical scenes, a still-functional pipe organ, and a 140-year-old Bible presented to the church in 1879 . The wooden pews and pulpit, crafted with intricate details, add to the church's historical charm . Surrounding the church is a serene graveyard, the final resting place of several British colonial figures, including Sir George William Robert Campbell, the first Inspector General of the Ceylon Police . The church's location offers panoramic views of the Castlereagh Reservoir, enhancing its tranquil ambiance. Christ Church Warleigh remains an active place of worship, hosting English services on the first, third, and fifth Sundays of each month . Its well-maintained gardens and peaceful surroundings make it a must-visit for those exploring the Hatton-Dickoya region.

A beautiful church in a beautiful location. This church owns its historic value for many reasons. There is an ancient pipe piano still in functional condition. Beautiful scenery.
Chathurika J — Google review
Christ Church Warleigh, located in the scenic hill town of Dickoya in Sri Lanka’s Central Province, is one of the most iconic remnants of British colonial heritage in the region. Established in 1878, this Anglican church was built by British planters during the height of the Ceylon tea industry. Nestled beside the Castlereagh Reservoir, the church offers stunning views of the surrounding hills and tea estates, enhancing its tranquil and spiritual ambiance. Historical Significance: • Colonial Origins: The church was built primarily to serve the spiritual needs of British tea planters who had settled in the hill country. Its name “Warleigh” is believed to be derived from Warleigh Manor in Somerset, England, reflecting the influence of the colonial homeland. • Architectural Style: Christ Church Warleigh showcases traditional British Gothic architecture, with stone walls, arched windows, and a wooden interior. It is a fine example of 19th-century ecclesiastical construction in Sri Lanka. • Cemetery and Memorials: The adjoining graveyard is of particular interest, containing the tombstones of British settlers, including some who played a key role in developing the tea industry. These inscriptions provide valuable insight into colonial life and the hardships faced by early planters. Cultural and Religious Role: • Community Center: During colonial times, the church functioned not just as a religious sanctuary, but also as a community hub for British expatriates. • Continued Services: Today, it remains an active place of worship and is part of the Church of Ceylon. Regular services are held, attracting both locals and tourists. Tourism and Preservation: • Christ Church Warleigh is now a popular tourist attraction in the Nuwara Eliya district. It offers visitors a glimpse into the colonial past amidst breathtaking natural scenery. • The church has been preserved with care, and while it retains its original charm, it has also benefited from periodic maintenance by the local Anglican community.

Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Dewalaya

Mentioned on

Hindu temple
Sights & Landmarks
Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Dewalaya is a remarkable temple complex that beautifully embodies the spiritual diversity of Sri Lanka. Nestled in the southern region, this sacred site features Hindu and Buddhist shrines alongside a mosque and Muslim tombs, making it a true melting pot of faiths. At its heart lies the shrine dedicated to Lord Murugan, where devotees gather for daily puja ceremonies filled with vibrant chants and fragrant incense.
Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Dewalaya is one of the most sacred and historic religious sites in Sri Lanka, deeply revered by Tamil Hindus, Buddhists, and devotees of all faiths. It is primarily dedicated to Lord Kataragama who is believed to have manifested here thousands of years ago. Must visit place in Kataragama.

கதிர்காமம் was good place to explore. However, I noticed that 99% of the surroundings were dominanted by sinhala language, sinhala announcements, and Buddhist temple. The area is not very clean. And there aren't enough toilets. Spending 2 - 3 days there is fine. But beyond that, it's difficult to manage. Apart from the temple and surroundings, there are many other places you visit around kathirkamam. If you're planning to go, I recommend booking a room early, there are some hotels available nearby. I'm saying "have fun" because honestly, i didn't feel much of Hindu atmosphere there. I've attached some images i took so you can see what I mean

Kataragama Dewalaya is a famous temple in southern Sri Lanka, visited by people of many religions. It is dedicated to the god Kataragama, also known as Skanda or Murugan. Every year, thousands come for blessings, healing, and to take part in special festivals, prayers, and traditional rituals.
Devon P — Google review
Visiting the Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Dewalaya in Kathirkamam during the temple function was quite an experience in itself and not in the calm spiritual way I had expected. The temple is indeed beautiful and sacred holding deep historical and cultural importance for many devotees across the country. From the moment you step onto the premises the sound of drums chanting and bells creates an atmosphere that feels divine and timeless. The temple architecture itself is magnificent and even though it carries centuries of tradition the management of the place during festivals feels centuries behind. It is meant to be a place of worship and reflection but during peak time it becomes a test of patience and endurance rather than a spiritual journey. I have visited many temples around the country but never have I seen such chaos. People were pushing shouting and fighting just to move closer to the shrine as if the Lord only listens to those who stand in front. There were devotees who were kind and welcoming but many others acted as if they were guarding the gates of heaven themselves. One woman even fought with me to move aside and stand somewhere else. I lost my temper and shouted back and soon after another lady near me joined in and the whole situation escalated into a scene that could rival a movie fight sequence. My family tried to calm me down but by then everyone was already caught up in the chaos. It was funny in hindsight but in the moment it felt completely ridiculous that such behavior was happening in a sacred place meant for devotion and peace. What bothered me more than the crowd was how the system favored those who paid. It was painfully obvious that money could buy comfort even in a place of worship. People who offered large donations were escorted gently to the front to pray while the rest of us were left standing in the heat for hours. I have knee problems so standing that long was painful and frustrating. Foreigners were struggling too and most were left confused about where to go or what to do. No one was there to guide them properly. The whole arrangement made it seem like devotion was a transaction rather than faith. For a temple of such importance it deserves much better organization and care for its devotees. We had gone there to witness the perahera but after hours of standing walking and waiting the experience was underwhelming. The performances were beautiful but the exhaustion took away from it. Parking was another nightmare. It took forever to find a spot and the walk from the parking area to the temple felt endless. The roads were crowded with vendors shouting and devotees rushing in every direction. Toilets were scarce and not very clean and the overall environment needed serious attention. It would make such a difference if the management introduced proper crowd control better facilities and ensured cleanliness around the area. The spiritual essence of Kataragama deserves to be preserved with respect and dignity instead of being overshadowed by poor organization. Despite all this there were still moments of beauty that reminded me why the temple is so revered. The shrine itself is stunning and when you stand in front of it you can feel the weight of devotion and history surrounding you. The people living near the inner temple were friendly and humble and it was heartwarming to see their simple faith and hospitality. The energy of the place when it is calm is unlike anything else. I would strongly recommend visiting during an off-peak time when the temple is quiet and peaceful. That is when you can truly appreciate its beauty and spiritual power without the chaos. The Kataragama Dewalaya is a holy site that represents unity and devotion but it is in dire need of better care and management to live up to the divinity it stands for.

Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Dewalaya is one of the most sacred and historic religious sites in Sri Lanka, deeply revered by Tamil Hindus, Buddhists, and devotees of all faiths. It is primarily dedicated to Lord Murugan (known locally as Kataragama Deviyo), who is believed to have manifested here thousands of years ago. According to Tamil tradition, this is where Murugan came with his divine spear (Vel) and performed penance and battles to protect dharma. The Vel, placed with great reverence, is considered extremely powerful — a symbol of divine protection, wisdom, and energy. Devotees offer prayers and vows here, and many return to thank the deity after their wishes are fulfilled. The temple complex is simple yet spiritually intense. Devotees often walk barefoot from long distances as an act of devotion. The atmosphere is charged with faith, especially during evening poojas and the annual Esala festival. Ruhunu Kataragama is not just a temple — it's a living spiritual tradition where Murugan is believed to still protect, bless, and guide his followers.
Sivatheesan K — Google review
Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Dewalaya is one of the most powerful and sacred sites in Sri Lanka, revered by people of many faiths. The energy here is truly unique — a blend of devotion, tradition, and spiritual intensity that you can feel as soon as you step inside. The rituals, especially during the evening pooja, are incredibly moving to witness. Devotees bring offerings with heartfelt prayers, and the entire environment is filled with chants, the sound of drums, and the scent of incense. It’s a place where you see true faith in action. The temple complex is also beautifully maintained, with ancient trees, shrines, and a river nearby, adding to the peaceful atmosphere. Whether you’re religious or simply curious, visiting Kataragama Dewalaya is an unforgettable experience that leaves you with a sense of peace and reverence. Highly recommended for anyone seeking spiritual connection or a deeper understanding of Sri Lanka’s diverse cultural heritage.

Safari was very nice. We travelled around the national park for 3 hours in a comfortable jeep. Our driver "Sasanka" was very good and did his best to show us the leopard.
İlknur D — Google review
Sat waiting for tickets from 5:55 to 6:13 and the park opens for 6 Queue of jeeps from at least 700m from entrance - started queuing at 6:15 Meanwhile 9 jeeps overtook us Got through the entrance at 06:37 I didn’t like the fact that as soon as elephants were spotted all the jeeps rushed there, 6 jeeps blocked their pathway resulting in the elephants looking anxious to protect their herd and one even hitting our jeep. All the jeeps weren’t moving out of the way, which isn’t nice to see with the elephants. Then got stuck in a queue of traffic of 9 jeeps that we could see which turned out to be around 20 jeeps before I lost count. We finally got moving after 20 mins of going backwards and forwards to let others out. Completely wasting our time in the park. Our driver only stuck the main road and went up and down it unless he was told what animals were to look at. Resulting in all the jeeps going. He wouldn’t turn the jeep off to capture good videos and photos and kept trying to rush us. When we did shout to stop he was only concerned about leopard, which we didn’t see. Trip stated that binoculars and water provided however we didn’t receive this. A member in the party seated in the middle seat at the back went flying to the front when the driver slammed his brakes on leaving the park for a speed bump. Personally I wouldn’t recommend based on the fact that I done udawalawe the day before and the guide was so much better at showing us the animals, facts on them and taking the time to find us animals. I don’t know how this tour gets 5* on get your guide.

Glad we saw 2 leopards, It’s not just the big animals that make Yala special. We saw monitor lizards, bee-eaters, and even a mongoose chasing something. The guide had stories about each animal. Totally worth the early wake-up. Highly recommended.

We booked them by phone for an afternoon safari. We were picked up at 2 by Yashara and instantly we knew it was gonna be an amazing safari. He literally spotted every single animal - we saw a leopard, lots of elephants and crocodiles. I had asked to see the Malabar Hornbill if he finds them and of course he did! Highly recommend this team for your Yala Safari.

We had a wonderful full day safari with our guide Tikiri. We saw a sloth bear cub, a leopard (far away in a tree), a lot of elephants, crocodiles, buffalos and many birds. Our guide did his best for us to see as many animals as possible. The lunch is at the beach. The building is ugly, but you can take your plate and enjoy the food on the beach. Keep in mind: • lunch break is 2 hours long, so except for chilling on the beach you can’t do anything else • there are no toilets in Yala (except for at the lunch spot), so you’ll have to go into the bushes

Udawalawe National Park

Mentioned on

National park
Nature & Parks
Udawalawe National Park, spanning over 30,821 hectares, is a haven for native wildlife such as elephants and water birds. The park's lightly vegetated landscape surrounding the Uda Walawe Reservoir allows for easy game-watching, with herds of elephants, wild buffalo, deer, and giant squirrels roaming the area. This Sri Lankan gem offers unique safari experiences and stunning scenery while promoting responsible tourism practices.
Ticket prices are fair and reasonable. A visit to Udawalawe National Park is one of the best safari experiences you can have in Sri Lanka. The park is open daily from 6.00 AM to 6.00 PM, giving travelers a full day’s opportunity to explore its rich wildlife and breathtaking scenery. Safaris here are well known for offering sightings of elephants, leopards, and many other wild animals in their natural habitats. On our visit, we were especially fortunate to witness nearly 20 wild elephants, a truly spectacular sight that set the tone for the journey. The highlight of the day was watching a single majestic male elephant walking gracefully by the lakeside—a picture-perfect moment that will remain unforgettable. His calm yet powerful stride captured the essence of the wild in its purest form. The safari ride itself remained exciting throughout, as there was always something to watch—whether it was herds of elephants, water buffalo, deer, crocodiles basking in the sun, or a variety of colorful birds. Each turn of the jeep revealed a new scene of natural beauty and wildlife interaction, keeping the experience fresh and thrilling. For both locals and foreigners, Udawalawe is a must-visit destination. It combines adventure with awe, offering a rare chance to see animals in their true environment. With its abundance of elephants and diverse wildlife, it undoubtedly ranks as one of the top safari parks in Sri Lanka. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the island.

So, we saw 12 elephants, 3 crocodiles, 2 herds of deer, around 30 monkeys, 2 buffaloes, 2 storks, and tons of peacocks and other birds. You should head out around 7 AM. Ideally, rent a 4x4 jeep just for your group — it costs about 15,000 rupees. Two hours is plenty. It’s totally safe and super interesting. Don’t forget to bring water!
One F — Google review
Udawalawe National Park is one of Sri Lanka’s best wildlife destinations, especially for spotting wild elephants in their natural habitat. The park offers open landscapes with a scenic reservoir, making animal sightings easy and enjoyable. Jeep safaris give close views of elephants, buffalo, deer, crocodiles, and a wide variety of birds. Compared to other parks, Udawalawe is less crowded and provides a more relaxed safari experience. A visit to the nearby Elephant Transit Home adds extra value, where orphaned baby elephants are cared for before release into the wild. Overall, it’s a must-visit for nature lovers and wildlife photographers.
Dheshitha S — Google review
I booked a tour from Mirissa to Udawalawe, and our driver picked us up right from the hotel for a comfortable two-hour drive to the park entrance, where we met our guide and transferred to the safari jeep. The park entrance fee was very reasonable. Udawalawe National Park truly offers one of Sri Lanka’s best safari experiences, known for its close-up encounters with elephants, leopards, and a variety of wildlife in their natural habitats. We were lucky to spot over 15 wild elephants, including a majestic male strolling gracefully by the lakeside — who even seemed slightly annoyed by our long stares! It was an unforgettable moment. The safari stayed exciting from start to finish, with sightings of water buffalo, deer, crocodiles, foxes, iguanas, and vibrant tropical birds around every turn. A visit to Udawalawe is an absolute must for both locals and tourists — the perfect blend of adventure, natural beauty, and abundant wildlife. Highly recommended.
Ed S — Google review
Such a calm national park with a wide variety of animals—especially a great place to see elephants and many different birds. I personally like it because there aren’t many safari jeeps, so people can enjoy the park freely. It’s really important for the animals to have their freedom and experience minimal disturbance in their natural life. I have stayed inside the park on a few occasions, which has been an unforgettable experience. Especially at night, it feels as if we are completely isolated from the rest of the world.
Upul, L — Google review
Awesome, lots of animals. Elephants walk really close to the car. Tips: Start at 6am, 4 hours should be enough, but we had 7 hours and visited both lakes, also ok. Try to separate from other cars, grouping around the elephants, the safari becomes more natural.
Yurii S — Google review
Had a morning elephant safari. We knew that was all we were likely to see. We did see a few Crocodiles amd Water Buffalo and lots of birds, but the elephants were the stars of the show. It can get very busy with trucks but our guide, Soloman, got out of the queue and went a different route, which was a good move.

Amazing park. I saw so many beautifull animals. Amazing birds, lizards, small crocodiles, elephants.... Great jeep safari.

Elephant Transit Home

The Elephant Transit Home, supported by the Born Free Foundation, serves as a halfway house for orphaned elephants. Situated near the Uda Walawe National Park, it provides care to abandoned elephant calves until they are ready to be released back into the wild. The facility covers 200 acres and is dedicated to preserving world elephant affluence. Visitors can witness feedings from a viewing platform and learn about the rehabilitation process.
Visiting the Elephant Transit Home was an unforgettable and heartwarming experience. Located near Udawalawe, this sanctuary is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing elephants back into the wild. What makes it truly special is that the elephants here are not kept for display or rides, but genuinely cared for with the goal of giving them a second chance at life. During my visit, I had the chance to see baby elephants being bottle-fed and cared for by the staff. Watching them play together, stumble around, and eagerly wait for their milk was both adorable and touching. I also saw a few injured and disabled elephants who were receiving medical treatment and rehabilitation. Despite their hardships, they were given a safe environment filled with care and dignity. The experience was not only enjoyable but also educational. The staff explained the challenges elephants face in Sri Lanka, from habitat loss to injuries caused by human conflict. It was inspiring to see how much effort is dedicated to protecting these incredible animals. Standing there, watching the baby elephants slowly regain their strength and confidence, I felt a deep respect for the mission of the Elephant Transit Home. It is a place of hope, compassion, and resilience. For anyone visiting Sri Lanka, this is a must-see destination—not just for the beauty of the elephants, but also for the meaningful conservation work being done here.

It's an amazing and much needed initiative for the sadly orphaned baby elephants. It was great to see that the elephants who spend a few years here are able to then integrate into the wild once they're old enough. Very happy to support them and see these adorable elephants (from a distance). There is also an informative museum about elephants and the ETH’s history. Don’t miss it if you go to Udawawala.
Pavi A — Google review
This is a fun place to see young elephants up close. At 2.30 the elephants gather before being let through a gate in groups of 3-4. They trot across to get a drink of milk before feeding on corn. Visitors sit in a raised viewing platform with about 4 rows of seating. It's best to sit over on the right side. The whole process takes about 30 minutes. Photography is hampered by the wire fence. There is an interesting little museum & shop.
Simon D — Google review
We read a couple reviews and were concerned about going here. Our feelings for animal welfare is very strong, yet we also understand these are young elephants which they are helping to get back into the wild and would otherwise not have help or even able to survive. Yes there needed to be some control when feeding, which was done waving a cane. They were not hit at all. We are happy our money has gone in helping this and we understand tourism helps this work. We are very realistic about how this can be funded
Philip J — Google review
Elephant Transit Home in Udawalawe is a fantastic experience! The feeding sessions (10:30am, 2:30pm, 6:00pm) are run with sharp, accurate timing, ensuring you don’t miss a moment of watching adorable baby elephants eagerly charge for their milk. The entry fee is very reasonable, directly supporting the rehabilitation of orphaned elephants. The setup is well-organized, with a clear viewing platform, informative museum, and friendly staff who keep everything running smoothly. Easy to find with clear signage, it’s a heartwarming, ethical stop that’s perfect for wildlife lovers. Highly recommend
M C — Google review
When visiting, be aware of the feeding times for the elephants. Tickets are issued only between 9.30-10.30 am, 1.30-2.30 pm and 5.30-6 pm. Foreigners are charged $5. Local tourists pay Rs. 120. You can watch the elephants being fed and visit an information center about elephants and gain knowledge.
Thidesa T — Google review
I had reservations about visiting this place due to the mixed reviews, some suggesting the elephants were poorly treated but I am so glad I went as I saw no evidence of this. The whole experience was heart warming seeing the young elephants being gently treated, running to get their feed of milk and enjoying feeding on the leaves. The walk through museum was very informative and well laid out so I have no hesitation in recommending a visit to this Elephant Transit Home.
Yvonne K — Google review
We visited the Elephant Transit Home in Udawalawa on 6th September, and it was a truly wonderful experience. The center does an amazing job rescuing, rehabilitating, and caring for orphaned baby elephants before releasing them back into the wild. Watching the feeding time was both heartwarming and educational, and we appreciated how well the staff manages everything to keep the elephants safe and minimize unnecessary human interaction. It’s inspiring to see such a genuine effort in wildlife conservation. This visit not only gave us joy but also deep respect for the hard work carried out here. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Udawalawa.

Bundala National Park is a stunning natural haven located in Sri Lanka, characterized by its intricate network of lagoons, marshes, and golden-hued dunes that shimmer under the setting sun. Spanning an impressive 6,216 hectares, this park serves as a vital sanctuary for migratory water birds such as flamingos and boasts around 200 bird species overall. Birdwatchers flock here to witness the vibrant avian life alongside majestic elephants that roam freely throughout the park.
Very good place, but before you go, make sure you are going between November and February.
Ulugbek U — Google review
It is a very good park. It could be improved especially off season (November). We had hard time to find a jeep and get the tickets to the park. We were lucky to spot almost all the animals except elephants. Birds watching is just WOW.
Hussain R — Google review
Bundala National Park is a fantastic maze of waterways, lagoons and dunes that glitter like gold in the dying evening sun. This wonderland provides a home to thousands of colourful birds ranging from diminutive little bee-eaters to grotesque open-billed stalks. It is a wetland sanctuary of such importance that it has been recognised under the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands. Many big mammals are also present, with between 15 and 60 elephants depending on the season (December is the best month).
Malik D — Google review
Bundala National Park truly surprised me - it’s so underrated and, in my opinion, even more beautiful than Yala. The nature here is greener, wilder, and more diverse. Even without leopards, there are so many amazing animals and birds to see - elephants, monkeys, crocodiles, buffaloes, and countless colorful species. You can get closer to the wildlife and feel completely surrounded by nature. Our guide and driver were wonderful - very kind, professional, and passionate about what they do. If you want a calmer, more authentic safari experience, Bundala is the perfect choice.
Соня — Google review
I wasn't as enamoured as some. Went to Yala last year at the same time and saw way more animals, even birds. We drove for four hours and didn't see much. Many birds, but none I would say were migratory - none that you see in pictures of the park so perhaps not late enough in the season. There doesn't seem to be any washroom facilities within the park so it was a long four hours. Yala tours cost about the same and we had breakfast included and a nice spot for a break with some info about the tsunami damage and loss. Also, the tour safaris seem to speak together in Yala so you know where to go, plus they fill up jeeps so not to run big vehicles with only one person in them.
Jana E — Google review
Bundala National Park is a very underrated place compared to Yala National Park, but it’s absolutely breathtaking. The park is full of greenery, dry-zone trees, and unique plants that make it a beautiful and peaceful spot to explore. You won’t find too many big animals here, but you can still see elephants, foxes, rabbits, and a wide variety of birds. One of the most interesting things to see are the crocodiles resting near the water. It’s a good idea to arrange a jeep before you come, because it can be a bit hard to find one once you arrive. Other than that, it’s a must-visit place for any nature lover. Bundala is also a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, known for its lagoons and wetlands that attract hundreds of migratory birds especially flamingos during the season. Peaceful, wild, and full of natural beauty, Bundala National Park is truly a hidden gem in Sri Lanka.
Kushan K — Google review
Much smaller and less visited that nearby Yala but a must visit for bird watchers and nature lovers. We saw a wide selection of birds and wildlife, and some really rare species. Much more relaxed safari with a very helpful guide and spotter with binoculars who joined us. Really enjoyed it, but don’t expect to see leopards here, this one is for the bird lovers.
Carlitos W — Google review
Amazing place to spot a variety of native and migratory birds. That one day I visited it rained in Hambantota but I managed to spot many birds. I recommend you book a safari before hand. Try Bundala safari with Srimal. He had a very good rating and he was great. He and his brother- in - law helped us spot many birds and animals. I would highly recommend Bundala safari by Srimal.

The Sinharaja Forest Reserve is a pristine rainforest containing numerous unique species that can only be found within its boundaries. This virgin forest also offers several paths for hiking, which visitors can use to explore the beauty of the forest in a more intimate way.
One of the most endangered biological reserves in Sri Lanka. Untouched rainforest area with a great amount of endemic species of Sri Lanka 🇱🇰. Hiking and range area.

A breathtaking experience! 🌿 Sinharaja Rain Forest is truly one of Sri Lanka’s hidden gems. The air feels pure, the sounds of birds and waterfalls are mesmerizing, and the biodiversity is just incredible. The guided walks are educational — you get to see rare plants, colorful birds, and even leeches (part of the adventure!). Make sure to go early morning and wear good hiking shoes. A must-visit for anyone who loves nature and peace.

A beautiful place where we were able to see a monkey, a lizard, a millipede, snakes, butterflies, waterfalls, a cute family of dogs who followed us the whole trip, a fish therapy pond, and we were lucky enough not to meet leeches.

What an incredible experience! Sinharaja is a truly special place. The air is fresh, the scenery is stunning, and the sounds of the forest are so refreshing. The whole trip was amazing, but the best part for us was the Kakunaella waterfall. Taking a dip in the cool water after the hike was pure bliss. If you're in Sri Lanka, you absolutely have to visit this UNESCO World Heritage Site

Mulgirigala Raja Maha Viharaya

Sights & Landmarks
Nestled amidst lush coconut groves, Mulgirigala Raja Maha Viharaya is a serene Buddhist temple complex located about 16 kilometers northwest of Tangalla. This ancient site, dating back to the 2nd century BC, features an impressive series of seven rock caves spread across five terraced levels. Visitors can embark on a rewarding climb up approximately 500 steps to discover stunning reclining Buddha statues alongside smaller figures and intricate murals that showcase a unique artistic tradition not commonly found in Sri Lanka.
Nestled into the mountains, this serene cave temple complex takes your breath away. Its beautiful 18th-century Kandyan murals are steeped in a spiritual aura that feels truly timeless. I was glad to pay a small entry fee to support the ongoing preservation of this special place.
Liu T — Google review
Nice temple if you are looking for a place that is not mainstream. It has five main caves that have been turned into image houses, and you can see very nice representations of gods and devils. It has three main levels. The first level has two caves, and the intermediate level has three caves. Between them, there is a devala dedicated to the god Vishnu. When you go all the way to the top, you can see a stupa, a statue, and a platform to see the surrounding area.
Niroshan S — Google review
This ancient temple with natural caves and having beautiful ancient paintings on the cave roofs is a must visit place if you are around Walasmulla, Southern Province Sri Lanka. It has several levels to climb where several buildings are built and inside there are beautiful statues of Lord Buddha and Gods. There are ancient carved stairs a rock when reaching the top. At the top there is a Stupa and also a platform from where you could get a magnificent sight of the whole village below. There is a parking place at the entrance for which you need to pay for parking. There are many street vendors at the entrance to the temple selling snacks and herbal tea which are worth trying.
SP U — Google review
Beautiful place, gorgeous cave art and very friendly staff. Please be aware however that when walking into the gates after parking outside people will try and be your tour guide, which you categorically do not need as this temple is not massive or complicated to manoeuvre, and then try and charge you upwards of 5,000 rupees, thankfully saw reviews of this before we went so I knew the politely decline but others around us did fall victim. I would advise going on a day or time of the day when it is not as hot as the stairs can prove lethal in 32 degree heat, but the view was worth it! We went on a hot day around midday, and because of this there was not a single person there, we had the entire temple/ hill to ourselves, it was just the ticket officer and one group who had left as we entered. Tickets were 500 rupees per person!
Alexia L — Google review
Mulkirigala Rock Temple is a truly peaceful and historic place. Built beneath and around a huge rock cliff, the shrines blend naturally with the stone, creating a quiet and spiritual feeling. The white stupa with its elephant carvings at the base looks stunning against the dark rock background. The small shrine towers and cave temples are full of character — simple, calm, and beautifully preserved. I loved how the massive rock shelters the buildings, and the big trees add a cool shade all around. Climbing up to this level gave a sense of ancient devotion and stillness. It’s not crowded, and you can take your time exploring each section. The craftsmanship, from the carvings to the structure details, shows how much history and faith are hidden here.
Sathsara L — Google review
Not so hard to reach the top. We did it easily with 2 children 6 and 9 years old. Absolutely not crowdy, It was a bit rainy and we were completely alone. Local "guide" starts following you immediately at the entrance without request, and asks for a donation (10 usd) in the end. Don't like such hidden fees, but we accepted him, he looked friendly, answered our questions and gave some interesting information that is not provided in the place.
Yurii S — Google review
Very special experience. 500 Rupees for entrance fee and donations within the temples themselves available on your choice. The facilities aren't as well kept as I imagined however the temples inside the rock is something out of this world. Be sure to take shoes during the summer peak season as the rock can hurt otherwise in the cooler seasons, if you can, go barefoot to respect the local traditions. A few monkeys here and there but nothing to be too focused on. Steps are very small in some areas. Be sure to take your time and soak in the beautiful wild surroundings
Carmyn H — Google review
Get a local guide to take you up and give you a history tour of this ancient Buddhist temple. Photos are allowed and there many old paintings and statues within the temple. Stairs are uneven and at times steep so be cautious. Take a torch if you plan to stay late.

It is the best place for watching turtles. Actually Turtle Watch Rekawa ( Turtle conservation center Rekawa ) is a center which is under Sri lanka turtle conservation project. This is a community based conservation project and doing valueable job for protecting turtles and their nests. In this center Villagers of Rekawa are helping to maintain this center and they are also protecting turtle nests from threats You can reach this center by bus or your own vehicle. If you come by bus, first come to Tangalle bus stand and need to catch Rekawa - Tangalle bus. But in that route buses are not frequent. Say conductor you want to go turtle beach When you get off the bus you have to walk around 2km ( not exactly sure ) to reach the center. There are sign boards showing the directions along the road If you come with your own vehicle you need to come netolpitiya junction and turn to rekawa road and from netolpitiya junction around 6/7 km journey Center is very beautiful. They open at night from 6-12. Lot of tourists also. There is a juice bar and also facilities like toilets etc. They are very clean and well maintained. Also have a information center and you can get information on sea turtles and also other marine animals Please behave well and protect this sensitive environment
Prabath W — Google review
We had a great experience here. Having read some of the reviews I think it depends a lot on who is in your group. Our small group were totally respectful of the turtles and followed our guides instructions so when we were called to follow him to see the turtle who had come to nest, she was not disturbed unnecessarily. Our guide used a red light only and nobody used a flashlight, but we could easily see her and followed at a respectful distance as she made her way back into the ocean. We then waited around for a long time while nothing else happened but I felt very lucky to have seen one of these amazing creatures. We sat around for a while before we went to the beach while they were waiting for a sighting and it was only once they had seen one that we paid and went onto the beach.

Very nice experience! We could see a turtle giving birth. We had 20 min Walk on the Beach in the night until we came to the turle, we were a group of ca. 15 people with 2/3 guides. Everything went very smooth, very quite Atmosphere, just everyone enjoying the experience. To avoid waiting time, inform yourself about the starting time of the experience.

Got the chance to see a turtle laying eggs. The local ticket price is 500/= per person. They divided us in to groups. But everyone was in the same group. They didn’t explain anything. But anyways they took us to the turtle and showed how the eggs were laid. This should be a bit more organized. They should at least talk what’s happening. Maybe before taking us to the place. I didn’t even know what type of a turtle that was.
Janeth F — Google review
Saw two very large green turtles laying eggs, 200kg plus. Stayed for about an hour till one of them entered the water. Super cheap price, 2000 per person. Be sure to come at arround 8, as they only go after a turtle starts laying eggs and they come on shore when it's dark.
Cornel — Google review
The guide was great he really cared about the turtles It was easy to get to but you must be there by 8pm to be sure you arent left behind. You MUST NOT use flash, people getting upset about being told off just cant follow the rules. Sadly tourists seem to want to get close to the turtles for photos even though it’s a huge problem for the turtle, the guides care so ofcourse they will bark orders at you if you dont listen.
Tom K — Google review
Yes, I’m posting a cute baby turtle (found online) to get your attention because the real “experience” here is anything but cute. Crowds are massive, chaos is king, staff win Sri Lanka’s most unfriendly award and honestly, the only thing this place hatches is disappointment.
Aleksander — Google review
We recently joined a turtle watching night. It was a special experience to witness a turtle laying her eggs, and I appreciate that the staff intervened when the turtle’s flipper got stuck behind a tree root, that was clearly necessary and handled safely. However, I was disappointed with how the observation was organized. At first, we were told that we would watch in small groups of five, but eventually 15–20 people stood less than 1.5 meters away from the turtle. This did not feel right and is very different from international turtle watching guidelines, which recommend keeping a minimum distance of 5–10 meters to reduce stress. We were also told that the turtles “can’t see or hear us anyway,” but this is not true. Research shows that human presence, noise, and even red light can cause stress, even if it’s not immediately visible in the turtle’s behavior. I hope the team takes this feedback seriously and enforces stricter guidelines in the future. Such as smaller groups, larger distances, and clearer instructions during the observation. That would make the experience not only impressive, but also more respectful and wildlife-friendly.

Goyambokka Beach is a stunning hidden gem! The scenery is amazing with golden sand, palm trees, and clear turquoise water. It is a calm cove, so it is excellent for swimming and snorkeling unlike some other rough beaches nearby. There were some tourists, but it still felt secluded and peaceful. There are small restaurants where you can grab fresh seafood or a drink and use a sunbed for the day. The perfect place to just relax, swim, and enjoy nature.

It's a beautiful small beach, but little is open and free to sit and nowhere with shade. For unexperienced swimmers it might get rough as the ocean is a bit wavey. A relaxed place which is clean and soothing. Lovely sand and beautiful surrounding altogether. Located between the Gin Ganga and Nilwala Ganga rivers, that part of the second largest primary forest in Sri Lanka. Although there is no guide available for visitors, the main gate to the lighthouse is open, allowing guests to explore its surroundings. Along with various puddles where one can relax, there is also a nearby post office where travelers can send out cards.

The lighthouse itself is well-maintained and stands tall as a proud landmark. The surrounding area is clean and calm, making it a perfect place to relax, take photos, and enjoy the natural beauty. 🌊 Dondra Head – Where Sri Lanka Meets the Edge of the World Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5) Dondra Head is a peaceful, picturesque location that marks the southernmost tip of Sri Lanka. Located just a short drive from Matara, this spot offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, coastal charm, and cultural significance. 🗺️ What Makes It Special Standing at Dondra Head gives you the surreal feeling of being at the very end of the island. The views of the endless Indian Ocean are breathtaking—especially when waves crash against the rocky shoreline. It’s a great spot to unwind, reflect, and take in the untouched beauty of southern Sri Lanka. The area is also home to Dondra Head Lighthouse, one of the tallest in South Asia. Though entry into the lighthouse itself is not always permitted, just being near it is impressive. The white structure rising above the palm trees with the ocean as a backdrop makes for incredible photo ops. ⸻ 🙏 Local Culture & Spirituality Nearby is the Sri Vishnu Maha Devalaya, a sacred Hindu temple complex that’s both historic and architecturally intriguing. If you’re interested in cultural exploration, it’s worth a short visit before or after the lighthouse. ⸻ 🚶‍♂️Things to Do • Walk along the coast and enjoy the sound of crashing waves and the breeze. • Photography: Ideal for coastal landscape photography and lighthouse backdrops. • Watch local fishermen: Often seen casting nets or pulling boats ashore—authentic everyday life in the south. • Enjoy the peace: Unlike more touristy spots, Dondra is relatively quiet and peaceful, especially on weekdays. ⸻ 🍴 Food & Facilities There aren’t many restaurants or shops right at the point, so it’s best to bring water or snacks with you. However, the town of Dondra and nearby Matara have plenty of cafes and eateries for a proper meal before or after your visit. ⸻ 🧭 Travel Tips • Best time to visit: Morning or late afternoon to avoid harsh sunlight. • Wear comfortable shoes: The rocks near the shore can be uneven and slippery. • Transport: You can reach Dondra by tuk-tuk, private car, or even train to Matara, followed by a short ride. • Photography tip: Sunset here is beautiful, with golden light hitting the lighthouse and ocean. ⸻ 📝 Final Thoughts Dondra Head may not be packed with activities, but its charm lies in the serenity and symbolism of being at the edge of the island. It’s perfect for a short peaceful stop, especially for travelers exploring the southern coast. Great for photography lovers, culture seekers, and anyone who appreciates nature away from the crowds.

I visited Dondra Head in Deundara with my family, and it was an unforgettable experience. This place marks the southernmost tip of Sri Lanka, where the land meets the endless Indian Ocean. The main attraction is the historic Dondra Head Lighthouse – one of the tallest in South Asia – which stands proudly by the coastline. Even from outside, the lighthouse looks magnificent and makes the perfect backdrop for photos. The area around Dondra Head is peaceful and beautifully maintained. The rocky shore, combined with the strong sea breeze and sound of the waves, creates a truly calming atmosphere. We spent time walking around, enjoying the views, and capturing some amazing pictures together. It’s also an excellent spot if you want to relax away from crowds or witness a stunning sunrise or sunset over the ocean. Reaching the location was easy, as the roads are well-connected from Matara. Overall, our family really enjoyed the visit. Dondra Head is a perfect blend of history, natural beauty, and serenity. Highly recommend it for anyone traveling through the southern coast of Sri Lanka.
DHANANJAYA ட — Google review
Dondra Head, also known as Devinuwara, marks the southernmost point of Sri Lanka and is a place of both natural beauty and cultural significance. It’s most famous for the Dondra Head Lighthouse, an impressive white octagonal tower that rises 49 meters above sea level and stands as one of the tallest lighthouses in South Asia. Surrounded by swaying coconut palms and the deep blue waters of the Indian Ocean, the site offers spectacular coastal views and a serene, breezy atmosphere that instantly calms visitors. On clear days, the panoramic view from the lighthouse grounds is breathtaking — the endless stretch of ocean creates a perfect spot for photography and quiet reflection. The area around Dondra is peaceful and less commercialized than other coastal attractions, allowing visitors to experience authentic southern coastal life. A small Buddhist temple and local fishing communities add cultural charm, while the rocky shoreline and crashing waves make it an excellent place for a scenic walk or picnic. It’s also one of the best places in Sri Lanka for whale watching, especially between November and April, when blue whales and dolphins are often spotted just offshore. Though visitors are not always allowed to climb to the top of the lighthouse, the site itself remains well worth a stop. Its combination of history, ocean views, and tranquil surroundings make Dondra Head a hidden gem for travelers exploring the Matara area.
Lakshan B — Google review
The Dondra Head Lighthouse in Matara is an impressive and historic tower, standing as the tallest lighthouse in Sri Lanka at the island's southernmost point. It's a fascinating piece of engineering. The lighthouse was built by the British and completed in 1889. What makes its construction so unique is that the stones used to build it were imported all the way from Scotland. The lighthouse is still fully operational. If you are in the area at night, you can see its powerful light flashing once every 5 seconds, guiding ships safely. The grounds around the lighthouse are beautiful and offer stunning, wide-open views of the Indian Ocean. One important thing to note: While visitors were able to climb to the top in the past, you cannot climb the lighthouse nowadays. This restriction is in place due to security reasons. Even without being able to go up, it is still absolutely worth a visit. The history, the impressive architecture, and the amazing coastal scenery make it a perfect spot for photos and a peaceful walk.

Polhena Beach, located near Matara in Sri Lanka, is often hailed as one of the best beaches on the southern coast. Its pristine waters and stunning shoreline have made it a favorite among both locals and tourists. The emerald-hued waters stand out amidst the predominantly blue oceans of the region. Visitors can enjoy swimming, lounging on the white sandy beach, and engaging in water activities like snorkeling.
The beach and sea are very safe. Police lifeguards are on duty until 6 PM. When they are available, they place a flag near the lifeguard hut. This is great because it ensures safety with lifeguards present, and the sea feels like a natural swimming pool!
Anju K — Google review
Polhena Beach is a true gem on the south coast and one of the best places to spend a relaxing day by the sea. The natural reef creates a sheltered lagoon with calm waters, making it perfect for swimming, even for kids and less confident swimmers. The highlight here is definitely the snorkeling – you might get to see sea turtles up close in their natural habitat, which is simply magical. The beach itself has a laid-back, friendly vibe and plenty of spots to just sit back, enjoy the view, and unwind. A must-visit if you’re looking for a safe, beautiful, and unforgettable beach experience in Sri Lanka.

More of a local tourist beach with no harassment nor expensive photo taking. You can rent snorkel, get a tyre float or even try stilt fishing here. Love the local vibes. Highly recommended!

Polhena Beach in Matara is one of the most relaxing and beautiful beaches I’ve visited in Sri Lanka. The water is calm and shallow, making it perfect for swimming, especially for families and beginners. What I loved the most is that you can actually see sea turtles close to the shore if you're lucky! The beach has a peaceful vibe, not too crowded, and the sunsets there are absolutely stunning. It’s a great place to unwind, enjoy the ocean, and spend time with friends or loved ones. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in the south!

Polhena Beach is one of my favorite spots on Sri Lanka’s southern coast. The calm, shallow lagoon and gentle waves thanks to the offshore reef make it ideal for safe swimming and family fun. What truly sets it apart is the chance to snorkel with sea turtles; these gentle creatures often glide right past you by the reef an unforgettable experience. The sand is soft and golden, framed by swaying palms and calm turquoise water. It’s relaxed and local never crowded like bigger tourist beaches. Bring your towel and mat for picnics, or grab fresh seafood and coconut drinks from nearby stalls.

Mirissa Beach is a popular destination known for its stunning strip of beach lined with shady coconut palms. During the day, it attracts surfers and sun worshippers, while at night, the beach bars come alive with lively atmospheres as tables and chairs are extended right to the shoreline. The area is home to many trendy bars and restaurants on either side of Parrot Rock, making it an ideal spot to unwind with a cold beer or enjoy a sundowner.
Beautiful and clean beach with large waves further away and a long shallow lagoon. For surfing it was a bit of a hard work for us beginners this time, we ended up surfing in Weligama as the waves were better and the lagoon was shallower for longer there, but the water in Mirrisa is much cleaner.

Great beach, local spot mostly but there are a sizable amount of tourists too. Long Beaches, grocery, massage shops and hotel stays are plenty, the quality is lessor the any where else on the island, unfortunately it’s not cheap as well, it’s an unwritten rule that anyone not local is charged fanatically more then anyone else (burger is almost Dubai prices).. nice night semi party mood. Excellent waves .. visit parrot point at the mouth of the beach. People are pleasant but not really flexible anymore with prices (been visiting since 2002).

Amazing beach. I’ve come here more than I can remember. Sometimes just to read in the sunbeds and have a coconut 🥥 and others to explore the little surroundings and finish with a beer. Amazing locals too. Prices may seem expensive sometimes but you can negotiate always. If you like snkrokling it’s a good spot to see turtles. BIG ONES! Also going to the coconut hill is A MUST!! Can’t get enough of it

Incredible time in Mirissa! I recently spent a few days in Mirissa and absolutely loved it. The town has that perfect beach-town vibe—relaxed, scenic, and full of character. Mirissa Beach is lined with golden sand and framed by swaying palm trees, making it ideal for just chilling out, swimming, or watching the sunset. One of the standout experiences was heading out for whale and dolphin watching. The ocean here is rich with marine life and offers one of the best chances in Sri Lanka to spot whales. Also, there are plenty of other activities—from surfing and snorkeling to climbing coconut-tree-lined hills for breathtaking views. The food and café scene were another highlight: fresh seafood by the beach, small cozy cafés for brunch, and beach bars with laid-back vibes. The friendly locals and easygoing energy made the stay even better. If there was one thing to keep in mind: during peak times the main beach area can get a little busier, so if you’re after utter solitude it helps to explore the smaller coves or arrive early. But honestly, even with that it's still a top-tier destination for a beach holiday with a mix of relaxation and adventure. Highly recommend Mirissa for anyone looking to experience Sri Lanka’s beautiful south coast—they’ve got it all: sea, sand, palm trees, nature and good times.
Titus T — Google review
A beautiful, small, well located hotel with friendly staff and great service. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The small pool is perfect for the size of the hotel. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.
Stephen B — Google review
Mirissa Beach is beautiful, but you need to be very careful in the water. The waves can be extremely strong and the currents are powerful enough to push around even confident swimmers. You definitely shouldn’t go too far out — the ocean can easily knock you off your feet. The only truly safe and calm area for swimming is the section near Parrot Rock, where the water is more protected. Outside of that spot, it’s better to stay shallow and stay alert. Visually, though, the beach is stunning — golden sand, palm trees and a classic Sri Lankan tropical vibe. Great place to relax and enjoy the scenery, just not ideal for swimming unless you stick to the sheltered part.
J S — Google review
One of the most beautiful beaches in the world. You can do surfing, swimming, snorkelling and diving here. There are lots of restaurants and parties in december, january and february. If you wanna see blue whales they have facilities here.

Jungle Beach, located at the opposite end of Unawatuna Beach, is a compact sand beach that offers a secluded escape from the city bustle. It is popular for swimming and sunbathing, with the option to enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving amidst sparkling coral reefs and schools of fish. Visitors can trek to the beach or opt for a boat ride to reach its verdant stretches.
Jungle Beach is a true tropical paradise! Hidden between lush greenery and crystal-clear waters, it offers a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. The beach is clean, peaceful, and great for swimming, snorkeling, and enjoying nature. The walk through the jungle to reach the beach adds a touch of excitement, and once you arrive, the view is simply breathtaking. It's less crowded than other beaches, making it ideal for those who want a quiet and scenic escape. A must-visit spot in Unawatuna
Dilshan P — Google review
It's a lovely beach but all over the rocks and the pathway it has been littered with beer can and alcohol bottles. It was disheartening to see , as the beach is so beautiful. Hopefully they organized a clean up of the area and maintain it better.
Nathan M — Google review
A very small beach. On the way through the jungle you can run into plenty of monkeys. If you’re unlucky and come during high tide, you’ll end up swimming among piles of underwear, plastic, and other trash. The café on the beach is ok, with normal prices. Getting there is easy, but getting out is much harder. Tuk-tuk drivers stand at the entrance and, since there are no alternatives, they try to charge three times the normal price to take you anywhere from the beach. You won’t be able to call a PickMe to get back — they’ll accept the order, call you, ask where you’re going and for how much, and then refuse. It’s just not profitable for them to drive that far without any passengers. And don’t forget: tuk-tuk drivers have unwritten agreements about who works in which area. So it’s better to arrange a ride in advance. Most tuk-tuk drivers will offer you their number anyway. If you still want to visit, the best option is to combine it with a trip to the Japanese Peace Pagoda. Take a PickMe to the Pagoda, then walk 5–10 minutes back along the road and you’ll find the entrance to the beach. There are signs — you won’t miss it.
One F — Google review
Jungle Beach is a hidden and beautiful beach surrounded by the jungle. Sadly, it is also polluted in some areas with litter, which takes away its natural beauty. To get there, you need to walk down a short trail from the vehicle parking area, which is easy to find and not very long. The view is fantastic. The beach can get crowded most of the time, especially on weekends.
TD — Google review
A small trek through the cliffs gets you to this calm, secluded beach. Its very untouched in many ways. The water is clean, the surroundings well maintained. The hardly any people. Only tourists form nearby resorts would trek to this beach. The waves were not too strong and perfectly safe for swimming. You can also find a small cafe which serves drinks and food. Very nice place to hangout. There are no activities such as snorkeling or surfing. I would highly recommend visiting Jungle beach if staying in unawatuna. ⛱️

Jungle Beach is one of the best beach spots to enjoy with friends and family. It’s a beautiful and relaxing place to visit — perfect for swimming, hanging out, and having a great time together 👌🏽
Praveen — Google review
Jungle Beach is a truly beautiful and serene location that absolutely deserves its place as a popular tourist attraction. Nestled between lush greenery and the ocean, the setting is calm and peaceful, offering a relaxing escape from the busy city life. Despite its quiet atmosphere, the beach often attracts a fair number of visitors, especially during peak times. The shoreline is shallow, making it suitable for light swimming, though caution is always advised. Lifeguards are usually present, but it's wise to check before entering the water. Access to the beach involves a short walk of approximately 200 meters through a slightly rugged but enjoyable trail, adding to the adventure and charm of the visit. Jungle Beach is ideal for those who love a mix of natural beauty, calm vibes, and a touch of exploration. Highly recommended for nature lovers and anyone looking for a peaceful beach experience.

Galle Dutch Fort, originally built by the Portuguese in the 16th century and later renovated by the Dutch and British, is a well-preserved sea fort that now houses museums, shops, and cafes. The area surrounding the fort is bustling with various businesses and restaurants. A visit to this historical site offers a glimpse into the architectural wonders of colonial powers. Despite its small size, there are numerous remarkable places to explore within the fort.
Galle Dutch Fort is an incredible place to visit — full of history, charm, and beautiful views. Walking along the ramparts at sunset is a highlight, with stunning scenery over the ocean on one side and the old town on the other. Inside the fort, the narrow streets are filled with colonial buildings, cafes, shops, and museums, all blending history with a relaxed coastal vibe. It’s well-preserved, easy to explore on foot, and has something for everyone, whether you’re into history, photography, or just enjoying the atmosphere. A must-visit when in Sri Lanka.

Visiting Galle Fort at night was an unforgettable experience. The moment I stepped inside the old stone walls, I felt a sense of calm and wonder. The entire fort had a peaceful atmosphere, very different from the daytime buzz. The narrow cobbled streets were softly lit with warm streetlights, and the cool breeze from the ocean made the walk even more refreshing. The historic charm of the Dutch architecture stood out beautifully under the night sky. Many small shops and cafés were still open, offering a cozy and welcoming vibe. Some had soft music playing, and the aroma of coffee and local food filled the air. The view from the fort walls was breathtaking — looking out at the dark sea under a sky full of stars was truly magical. There were couples walking hand-in-hand, friends laughing, and even solo travelers like me simply enjoying the moment. Everything felt safe and relaxed. Galle Fort at night is perfect if you’re looking for a quiet place to reflect, take photos, or just enjoy the beauty of history meeting the ocean. It’s not just a place to visit, it’s a place to feel. I highly recommend experiencing it after sunset — it has a charm you won’t find anywhere else.

Galle Fort is a major tourist attraction for both locals and foreigners. On weekends, the area gets quite crowded, and kids especially love flying kites here. The sunset is breathtaking — highly recommended, as long as the weather cooperates! There are several interesting places to visit within the fort, and you’ll find many cafés with different vibes, making it a lively and vibrant area. Walking around Galle Fort at night is something I truly enjoy.

We had such a wonderful time exploring the Galle Dutch Fort as a couple with our 10-year-old. It’s such a charming place — full of history, character, and amazing ocean views. We visited the lighthouse, clock tower, and walked along the rampart walls, catching the sunset from Flag Rock Bastion Point — absolutely stunning! The golden light over the ocean made it feel magical. We also enjoyed a bit of shopping at Spa Ceylon and Barefoot, wandered through the quaint alleys, and treated ourselves to some ice cream before having dinner at one of the food courts near the entrance. The blend of colonial architecture, relaxed vibe, and sea breeze made it a perfect family evening. Highly recommend spending a few hours here — it’s one of the most beautiful spots in Sri Lanka! 🌅🏰🌊

Lovely old town. Nice to walk around the fort, which takes you around 1h. Everything is free, but there are a lot of tuktuk drivers/taxi drivers who try to sell you a tour (you can easily explore on your own and read some signs for information) Good history.

The Japanese Peace Pagoda, located on Rumassala Hill near Unawatuna, is a serene Buddhist temple with a circular deck offering stunning views of the Indian Ocean and the surrounding landscapes. Constructed with the assistance of Japanese monks, this monumental stupa stands as a symbol of peace for people of all nationalities and faiths. Visitors can access the pagoda via a shaded path and will be greeted by its towering white structure adorned with gold-painted statues.
Japanese peace pagoda is situated at the top of Roomassala overlooking the Indian ocean. The temple is very calm, quiet with a stunning view of the sea and it has the ability to bring peace to your mind. I personally can stay for hours on end sitting on the temple grounds feeling the calming sea breeze, smelling the salty sea area and just looking at either the pagoda or the sea. Additionally, the monks hold a ritual at the evening like a prayer where they play a drum repeatedly. You can also participate in the ritual if you go to the temple in the evening. The temple is less crowded as well, so it is a perfect place to escape from the world for a brief moment.

Beautiful! We recommend you to visit this place. Make sure to cover shoulders and knees to visit. Parking is possible all the way up (500rps). The visit was free, but we donated some rps to the monk who resides there since 2004. He was really friendly and welcoming. Try to avoid moments when they do celebrations because it gets really crowded. Possibility to attend group ceremonies. Hours are shown there.

The Japanese Peace Pagoda at Rumassala is a truly serene place. Set on a hill above Unawatuna, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean, Galle Bay, and even the Galle Fort in the distance. Sunset here is especially beautiful. Recommended to visit in the morning or evening, since afternoon is too hot. The stupa itself is spotless white and surrounded by thick jungle, creating a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere. It was built by Japanese monks, and you can often hear soft chanting or ringing of the temple bell, which adds to the calmness. Access is easy by tuk-tuk, or you can hike up through the Jungle Beach trail if you prefer a bit of adventure. Entry is free, though donations are welcome. Free vehicle parking is also available. Just remember to dress modestly as it’s an active place of worship.

It is walkable from the main entrance to the fort, and the fort area in general is beautiful all around so it's worth the walk. Go here in the evenings or mornings for nice sea breeze and dawn / dusk views. The heat during other parts of the day can be dissuading, so go prepared with hydration and sun protection.

We visited the Galle Fort Lighthouse as a couple with our 10-year-old, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip! Watching the sunset by the lighthouse was absolutely magical — the sky turning shades of gold and pink over the ocean made it a picture-perfect moment. The area around the lighthouse is peaceful yet lively, with people strolling along the ramparts, enjoying the breeze, and capturing photos. Our kid loved exploring the spot and watching the waves crash against the rocks below. It’s a must-visit when in Galle Fort — especially during sunset. The view, the atmosphere, and the history all come together to create an unforgettable experience. 🌅⚓️🇱🇰

We visited the Galle Fort Lighthouse (on 2nd Nov) and had an unexpected but absolutely lovely experience. We originally thought it wasn’t possible to go inside, but then the door opened — and there stood the lighthouse keeper, Wigerarthne. He kindly guided us all the way to the top, where the view was simply magnificent. Afterwards, he took the time to explain the significance and the workings of the lighthouse. It was clear that Wigerarthne truly loves what he does. A wonderful and memorable visit – thank you, Wigerarthne!

A beautiful and peaceful spot with stunning ocean views! Galle Lighthouse is one of the most iconic places in the fort — perfect for photos, especially during sunset. The walk around the lighthouse and along the fort wall is lovely, with the sea breeze and relaxed vibe. Definitely a must-visit when in Galle!

The Galle Fort Lighthouse is truly one of the most iconic and picturesque spots in Sri Lanka. Located at the edge of the historic Galle Fort, it offers stunning panoramic views of the ocean, the ramparts, and the charming colonial architecture around. The area is beautifully maintained, and the lighthouse itself stands tall as a timeless symbol of Galle’s maritime heritage. It’s a great place to take a peaceful walk, enjoy the sea breeze, and capture some amazing photos—especially around sunset when the light hits the waves perfectly. The whole area around the lighthouse feels calm and filled with history, making it a must-visit for anyone exploring the Fort. Whether you’re visiting for the views, the history, or just to unwind by the ocean, the Galle Fort Lighthouse never disappoints!

Beautiful, photogenic, and knows it. You can’t go inside or climb it, but it looks amazing from every angle — like that friend who’s always camera-ready. Great for selfies, sunsets, and pretending you’re in a travel ad. Bring water, a camera, and your best “wow” face.

The most iconic light house inside the fortress. The place looks stunning at the morning and the evening(Golden hour). This whole place looks medieval type of buildings even the coffee shops. Portuguese era buildings and stunning breeze are the perfect things to relax. Free parking available all the time. That is the best thing. At the night this become even more beautiful.
