Padmanabhapuram Palace, located in Thuckalay near Kanyakumari, is a grand complex showcasing the finest traditional Keralan architecture. Built in the 16th century by the Travancore dynasty's Ravipillai Perumal, it boasts intricately carved rosewood ceilings and polished-teak beams.
Visited the Padmanabhapuram Palace, and it was truly impressive! 🏰 The palace showcases beautiful wooden architecture, antique interiors, and traditional Kerala design. Each room tells a story of history and royal life. The carvings and craftsmanship are amazing. However, the palace area is quite large, so it takes some time to explore — but it’s definitely worth it. The surroundings are peaceful and well maintained. A must-visit spot for anyone interested in heritage and history! 🌿✨

The seven-acre palace near Thuckalay is surrounded by hills, rivers, and waterfalls, making it very scenic. Interestingly, even though the palace is in Tamil Nadu, it is owned by the Kerala Government. Locals say that outside the palace is Tamil Nadu, but stepping inside takes you into Kerala. The Kerala Government has hired young staff trained in archaeology, which helps tourists enjoy the visit more. Mostly made of wood, the palace has beautiful murals, carvings, relics, and black granite floors. Built over 400 years ago, it is the largest wooden palace in Asia.

We visited Padmanabhapuram Palace on a Saturday holiday and reached around 9 AM. It wasn’t very crowded, which made the visit more peaceful. The palace is truly an archaeological wonder — beautifully preserved and full of history. Definitely a must-visit at least once! It’s easily accessible from Trivandrum, and there’s plenty of space for car parking, so no worries there. However, there aren’t many good restaurants nearby, so it’s better to plan your food in advance. Overall, a great experience for history and architecture lovers
Afsal R — Google review
It’s a big palace and easily takes 2+ hrs to cover. However, it would be difficult for elders to climb the stairs in this palace. There are too many and are steep. Would be good if they instruct this while issuing the ticket. Paid restrooms are here for 5₹ per head but could be maintained better. We went on a Saturday and lot of schools are bringing children to this place as a day trip.
Kiruba S — Google review
Supposedly Asia’s largest wooden palace from the Travencore era. The palace is situated in Tamil Nadu, but still owned and maintained by the archeological department of Kerala, even after the reorganization of Kanyakumari district from Kerala to Tamil Nadu. It’s is well preserved, painting of artworks and maintenance done as needed. The palace is sprawling and displays Kerala style architecture. Good to visit! Caution: foot wear isn’t allowed inside the palace, walking around barefoot in the hot sun may burn feet 👣 🙂. Good to visit during early hours of the day, as crowd starts to swell past 11 AM.

Padmanabhapuram Palace is a historic 16th-century palace in the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, once the capital of the Travancore kingdom. Despite its location, it is owned and maintained by the Kerala government, famous for its stunning traditional Kerala-style architecture and elaborate wooden carvings. Location: Situated in the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, at the foot of the Veli Hills. Ownership: Owned and maintained by the Government of Kerala. Architecture: Known for its indigenous Kerala-style architecture, elaborate wooden carvings, and a mirror-like polished floor. Features: Includes the Mantrasala (council chamber), Dancing Hall, and the Uttupura (dining hall). The Uppirika Malika is a notable three-storied building. Significance: Considered one of the largest wooden palaces in India and a significant historical site.

A must place to visit. Yes, lot of improvements can be made, but to do so might impact the naturality and beauty of the palace. Spread across 6.5 acres, it is a great place to spend some time and enjoy.

Arulmigu Nellaiyappar Temple, located in Tamil Nadu, is a renowned Hindu temple complex dedicated to Lord Shiva. Built in the 17th century around two intricate 7th-century towers, it boasts beautiful Dravidian architecture and intricate carvings that attract both devotees and tourists. The temple is well-maintained and offers a peaceful atmosphere for visitors to admire its ancient structures and sculptures.
I had the opportunity to visit the Nellaiappar Temple in Tirunelveli on 10th August, and it was truly a divine and memorable experience. The temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva (Nellaiappar) and Goddess Kanthimathi, stands as one of the grandest temples in South India with its magnificent gopurams and intricate stone carvings. The vast corridors, majestic pillars, and the musical stone columns reflect the architectural brilliance of the Pandya dynasty. The spiritual atmosphere inside the temple was deeply calming, and the darshan was very peaceful. Visiting this ancient temple not only gave me a sense of devotion but also admiration for our rich cultural heritage.

A 2nd biggest siva temple in world, with very huge 3(3 for ambal + 3 for shiva)pragarams. Gomathy ambal is very gorgeous 😍 (gnanasakthi swaroopam). I have given 5 starts because every inch of the temple are very clean , Management is not shown that much interest in commercializing darshan( No 100rs,50 rs tickets for darshan) only 5 rs that too not required for all days . I really felt shivas heaven when I entered near garbhagraham of nellaiyappar .I suggest all to visit arround 5.30 Am to see the thiruvanathal sevai ,you will never forget the temple in life

This is our third visit to this place. God has been kind to us this time- we could get very clear views of the pillar rocks. A great creation of nature. However parking of vehicles can be tricky with very limited places. There is an entry ticket of Rs 20 per adult

If you are in Kodaikanal then this is a must visit place in your list wherever you go if you didn’t find the best climate but still here you will feel the best climate. Pillars rock view point is one of the finest to click your photography skills the nature will come deep into your camera
Muhammad R — Google review
When I visited, the skies were cloudy, so it was hard to see much, though I still got glimpses of the surrounding hills and forests. The rock pillars rise dramatically from the valley and give a sense of awe. There are small shops nearby for snacks and souvenirs, making it a nice spot for nature lovers and photographers.
Sayan C — Google review
When we visited, the entire area was covered in fog—almost like snowfall—so visibility was low. Even if the weather isn’t perfect, this place still offers a refreshing and unique climate you’ll definitely feel and enjoy. Parking can be a bit challenging, but the spot is absolutely worth it. The natural caverns formed between the pillars, originally known as ‘Devil’s Kitchen’ due to their deep and narrow formations, are fascinating to see. You can easily spend about 15 minutes here and capture some beautiful photos. A must-visit location.
Jishnu S — Google review
Awesome view but due to, too fog sometimes view may hidden… Best time to visit Morning 9 o’clock. No Tickets for entry… parking is quite issue.. U definitely enjoy this spot… must visit… On weekends crowd is high… E pass Mandatory now… Thank u ❤️😇

Good view point but too much crowded as we visited there in weekend. Usually the entry ticket to be made only in physical notes as they are not accepting GPay (nfc) cards etc...
Rajan K — Google review
One of the scenic views of Kodaikanal, ne can get from this place. People who love nature ,will go mad at this place. The clouds surrounding the pillar rocks adds on to the majestic highness of this place. As this is one of the major tourist spots in Kodiakanal, there will be lot of crowds. Long rows of cars and buses can be seen here. Numerous shops ranging from snacks, beverages and clothes fancy items will be available. Morning time will be the best one to visit this place. Entrance tickets have to get taken. Traffic happens sometimes due to overcrowding. Parking lots available and fairs collected.

It costs ₹200 per person, and the staff will take photos and videos using your own phone.

Loved the calm and cool atmosphere here. Walking among the tall pine trees felt refreshing and peaceful. We took some great photos, and the kids enjoyed running around. There were a few monkeys around, its fun to watch, but we had to be careful with snacks, but they added to the fun experience. It was a bit crowded but still a wonderful place to visit.
Gokul D — Google review
Visiting the pine forests in September was truly refreshing. The tall pine trees, fresh breeze, and peaceful surroundings made it a perfect escape into nature. The green cover looked even more beautiful this month, and the light filtering through the trees created magical views. It’s also a wonderful spot for photography – we captured many memorable pictures with the natural background. The calmness of the forest, combined with its natural beauty, made the visit unforgettable. 🌲📸

Whispers of the Woods – The Magical Pine Forest, Kodaikanal If peace had a scent, it would be the cool fragrance of pine needles in the air at Pine Forest, Kodaikanal. 🌲🍃 This isn’t just a tourist spot — it’s nature’s own cathedral, where sunlight filters softly through tall trees and time seems to slow down. Located on the southwestern edge of Kodaikanal, this enchanting forest was first planted in the early 1900s by Mr. Bryant, a British officer who wanted to preserve the region’s natural charm. Over a century later, his vision has turned into one of Tamil Nadu’s most beautiful and serene landscapes. 🌿✨ The moment you step in, you’re surrounded by towering pine trees stretching endlessly toward the sky, the forest floor covered in a golden-brown carpet of dry pine needles that crunch softly under your feet. The air feels cooler, calmer — filled with the whisper of the wind and the distant chirping of birds. It’s a favorite spot for nature lovers, photographers, and film-makers — several iconic Indian movies have been shot here. Whether you come to click pictures, take a quiet walk, or just sit and breathe in the mountain air, the place has a way of wrapping you in calm. As sunlight plays hide and seek through the tall trees, the entire forest glows with a golden warmth that feels almost magical — like something out of a dream. 🌞📸 Pro Tip: Visit in the early morning or late afternoon for the most beautiful light and fewer crowds. Wear good shoes — the pine needles can make the slope a bit slippery. The Pine Forest of Kodaikanal isn’t just a destination — it’s a moment of peace you’ll carry home forever. A place where nature still speaks softly, and all you need to do is listen. 🌲💫
Rangy W — Google review

Coaker's Walk, constructed in 1872 by Lieutenant Coaker, is a popular one-kilometer long walkway offering stunning views of the valley and mountains. It is located just 500 meters away from Kodai Lake and provides an amphitheatrical view of the surrounding hill range. The walkway winds around Mount Nebo, starting near Van Allen Hospital and ending at St. Peter's Church, providing panoramic vistas of the plains.

Where Clouds Walk Beside You – Coaker’s Walk, Kodaikanal If you ever want to know what it feels like to walk through the clouds, come to Coaker’s Walk in Kodaikanal. 🌫️💙 This narrow, winding pedestrian path along the edge of a steep hillside offers one of the most breathtaking views you’ll ever see — a walk where nature feels alive with every step. Built in 1872 and named after Lt. Coaker, this scenic pathway stretches for about 1 kilometer, overlooking the rolling hills, deep valleys, and the distant plains of Tamil Nadu. On a clear day, you can see the Pambar River, Dolphin’s Nose, and even the small village lights twinkling miles away — but on misty days, it’s pure magic. The fog moves like soft waves, wrapping everything in silence and mystery. 🌄🌫️ There’s something deeply calming here — the sound of the wind, the smell of fresh eucalyptus, and the feeling of being high above the world. Whether you visit at sunrise, when the first golden light touches the hills, or in the evening when the mist rolls in, Coaker’s Walk never looks the same twice. It’s a favorite spot for photographers, couples, and peace seekers — every corner feels like a postcard waiting to be framed. Don’t miss the viewpoint telescope at the end, and stop for a cup of hot tea or roasted corn from local vendors — it completes the mountain mood perfectly. ☕🌽 Pro Tip: Visit early morning for sunrise or after 5 PM for a misty romantic vibe. Carry a light jacket — the breeze here loves surprises! 💨 Coaker’s Walk isn’t just a pathway — it’s an experience, a quiet conversation between you and the clouds. You don’t just walk here — you drift, you breathe, you belong. 🌥️💫

I visited this beautiful place in early June 2024. It’s a wonderful spot for a casual walk with your loved ones, offering the feeling of strolling along the edges of a mountain while being completely safe. I’d recommend avoiding school holiday periods, as heavy traffic jams during that time can eat up a lot of your day.

Just another place for walking. Not worth giving 50 rs entry free. There are many places in outer kodaikanal where you can enjoy such views for free. I visited around 8 am and there was no rush. This place has two entrances.

I visited this lake and really liked the atmosphere. Boating and cycling were enjoyable, though it was quite crowded during the day. There’s also a market around the lake with souvenirs, food, and local chocolates. But for me, the best part was at night — the place becomes almost empty, and that’s when you can truly enjoy the cool breeze and the beauty of nature.

Kodaikanal Lake is located right in the heart of Kodaikanal and was artificially created in the 19th century. It’s a vast and scenic spot where you can enjoy beautiful views of the entire town. The lake is quite famous for its boating and pedal boating activities, which attract visitors throughout the year. A Mirror of the Mountains – Kodaikanal Lake, Tamil Nadu If there’s a heart that beats at the center of Kodaikanal, it’s the shimmering Kodaikanal Lake — calm, elegant, and surrounded by misty hills that look like they’ve stepped out of a painting. 🌫️💧 This star-shaped lake was created in 1863 by Sir Vere Henry Levinge, a British collector who wanted to make Kodaikanal a summer retreat. What began as a man-made lake soon turned into one of the most beautiful natural wonders of South India. Over the years, it’s seen everything — British horse carriages, quiet fishermen, giggling tourists, and the golden glow of a thousand sunsets. ☀️✨ Walking around the 5 km lake pathway is an experience in itself — tall eucalyptus trees on one side, the sparkling blue water on the other, and the sweet scent of pine and fresh earth in the breeze. You can ride a bicycle, go boating, or simply sit by the edge and watch the clouds dance in the lake’s reflection. 🚣‍♂️🌤️ Evenings here feel magical — the lights from nearby cafés reflect softly on the water, and the sound of laughter mixes with the gentle ripples. It’s peaceful, romantic, and timeless — a place where you can pause life and just be. Pro Tip: Visit early morning or just before sunset for the best views and light. Try the shikara-style boats or pedal boats for a quiet ride in the mist. And don’t miss a cup of hot chocolate from a lakeside stall! ☕💙 Kodaikanal Lake isn’t just water surrounded by hills — it’s a feeling. A place where time slows, hearts rest, and nature reminds you that beauty doesn’t shout — it whispers. 🌄💫

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Divine and Peaceful Experience at Madurai Meenakshi Temple The Madurai Meenakshi Temple is truly a masterpiece — both spiritually and architecturally. The temple is maintained exceptionally well, with clean surroundings and a beautifully organized atmosphere. The queue system is very decent and perfectly managed, ensuring everyone gets a comfortable and peaceful darshan. What impressed me most was how calm and orderly everything felt — no pushing or rush in the lines, allowing devotees to fully experience the divine presence of Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareswarar. It was a deeply satisfying and serene visit. Highly recommend visiting this temple for anyone seeking a truly divine and peaceful darshan experience! 🙏

An absolute masterpiece of devotion and architecture. The moment you enter, you’re surrounded by color, life, and divine energy. Every sculpture, every carving tells a story from centuries of faith. A peaceful and memorable visit to Madurai Meenakshi Temple I recently visited the Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple and it was a beautiful experience. The temple is grand and full of history, with amazing carvings and colorful towers. At the moment, the towers are under renovation and painting work is going on, so most of them are covered. Still, the temple’s beauty and energy can be felt everywhere. Inside, the atmosphere is calm and spiritual. The darshan of Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareswarar felt very peaceful. Even though it was crowded, everything was fairly well organized. One thing to be careful about — there are a lot of people outside trying to mislead visitors, especially auto drivers and some shopkeepers. They might say there’s no cloakroom inside, but don’t believe that. There are official cloakrooms near all four temple towers where you can safely keep your slippers and mobile phones. Overall, it was a meaningful visit and a reminder of how rich and alive our traditions still are. #MaduraiTemple #MeenakshiAmmanTemple #Madurai #TempleVisit #TamilNaduTemples #TravelTips #SpiritualExperience #IncredibleIndia

Best time to visit will be during 5 or 6 AM in the morning,so that you can finish darshan in less than 30mins ,it gets crowded later in the day . I wish they keep the surrounding of temple a little bit more clean . Mobile isn't allowed inside .

The temple premises are clean, the queue system is well organized, and security is helpful. Morning and evening poojas are truly divine. The entire atmosphere feels sacred and peaceful. I visited the Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai, and the experience was truly exceptional. I loved the temple with all my heart. The architecture is breathtaking, and they are still working on certain areas to make it even better. Every intricate detail on the walls is impressive and reflects the temple’s rich heritage. The people there are incredibly pure and kind-hearted. Their warmth and the way they treat visitors stood out to me—they genuinely make you feel respected and welcomed. Before entering the temple, there are a few important rules to follow. You must remove your shoes, and bags have to be deposited at the designated counters. Shoe storage is available for free at specific counters, which is very convenient. Mobile phones and electronic gadgets are not allowed inside the temple premises, and you cannot leave your phone inside your bag. There is a special counter meant only for mobile phones, where they charge ₹5 per phone. So if you are planning to visit, it’s best to come hands-free or carry only what’s necessary so you can enter peacefully and enjoy the temple without any hassle. Overall, it was a soulful and memorable experience, and I would highly recommend a visit to anyone traveling to Madurai.

🌟 A Breathtaking Marvel of Dravidian Architecture and Divine Energy! (5/5 Stars) 🌟 The Meenakshi Amman Temple is not just a place of worship; it is an architectural and spiritual masterpiece that left me completely in awe. It is the heart and soul of Madurai and an absolute must-visit for anyone traveling through South India. What truly stands out: 1. The Gopurams (Gateway Towers): The sheer scale and detail of the 14 multi-tiered, colorful gopurams are unbelievable. They are adorned with thousands of intricate, vibrant carvings depicting various gods and mythological scenes, telling ancient stories in stone. Walking past them feels like stepping into a living, breathing history book. 2. The Spiritual Ambiance: Inside, the atmosphere is incredibly serene despite the crowds. The scent of incense, the sound of temple bells, and the sight of devotees performing rituals create a powerful and deeply moving spiritual experience. The inner sanctum of Goddess Meenakshi is truly divine. 3. Architectural Highlights: Be sure to spend time in the Hall of Thousand Pillars (Aayiram Kaal Mandapam)—the carving and symmetry are mind-blowing (even though there are 985, not a literal thousand!). Also, don't miss the Golden Lotus Tank (Potramarai Kulam); it provides a beautiful, reflective view of the Southern gopuram. A quick tip for your visit: Mobile phones and cameras are generally not allowed inside, so please use the dedicated deposit counter. It's worth getting a special darshan ticket if you are pressed for time, but otherwise, simply soaking in the history and devotion is enough. An unforgettable journey into art, faith, and history. Highly, highly recommended!

*Must-Visit Destination near Madurai!* If you're visiting Madurai, you absolutely can't miss this place! The view is breathtaking, and the experience is unforgettable. Here's a little insider tip: *Insider Tips:* 1. *Extra Clothes*: If you're planning to visit the Noopura Gangai Rakkayi Amman Temple, make sure to carry an extra pair of clothes. You'll need to take a bath, and while there's a ₹15 ticket option to skip the long queue, the free line can take over an hour, even if there are only a few people ahead of you. 2. *Route Suggestion*: Take the Madurai - Natham Rd. It might be a bit longer, but the scenic views and smooth ride make it worth it. The road is close to the mountains, and you'll enjoy the picturesque views without any traffic hassles. 3. *Evening Visit*: Plan your trip in the evening and aim to reach the temples before 4:00 PM. This way, you can explore all three temples and take in the stunning views. Keep an eye out for the mischievous monkeys on the way – they're generally harmless, but drive safely! *Pro Tip:* Don't miss the two additional temples located uphill. They're definitely worth a visit! Recommendation:A must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Madurai. Enjoy the scenic views, explore the temples, and take in the spiritual atmosphere.

Azhagar Kovil temple is a popular destination in Madurai. This temple is located 22 kilometers from Madurai city. This massive structure is surrounded by a fort. Alagarkovil and its surrounding villages have a historical past with traces of two thousand year old evidence. It is one of the 108 abodes of Lord Vishnu, who is worshipped in the name of Kallazhagar. The mandapam and the exquisite pillars leave one in awe. The Chithirai festival during which the god Alagar visits Madurai and enters into the river Vaigai is the most famous one attracting devotees from all over Tamil Nadu. This is actually a great occasion not seen elsewhere in Tamil Nadu. It is the common forum where the folk and the elitist population mingle with each other. This festival brings social, religious and cultural harmony among the people.

Must visit place if you are visiting madurai One of the best view you will have * Little Suggestion: there are 2 more temple upward so must go there and 1) if you are visiting these 2 temple have a extra pair of clothes because in noopura gangai rakkayi amman temple take bath i would suggest a 15rs tickets otherwise in free line it would take more then hour even if you see there are only 10 person in line so it's recommended. 2) take Madurai - Natham Rd , yes it more distance but you will found best view this route. It is closed to mountain and no traffic and nice road quility. 3) travel in evening try to reach before 4:00 PM so you can enjoy all 3 temple and on the way to mountain lots of monkeys (not so harmful) but drive safely

The famous kal alagar temple located in the hills of alagarmalai is quite a beautiful place to visit in Madurai. There’s a huge parking area outside the temple complex. The gopuram is tall and sculptures are well preserved. The main shrine is located 100 meters approx from the main entrance. Average waiting time is 15 to 20 minutes on weekdays

The temple is truly beautiful, and the prasadham is excellent. If devotees visit, the free line moves faster than the paid one, which is convenient. The Ramanujar shrine is a peaceful spot where you can rest, and the Perumal looks stunning. A visit to Shakarathalvar is a must, but before that, make sure to stop by the Karupu Swami Kovil at the entrance—the aroma of his sandhanam is heavenly. After that, you can see Azhagar and explore the other shrines at a slow and relaxed pace, making the visit truly enjoyable. The temples maintainance was so good and kept clean.

Visiting the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam was a truly divine and unforgettable experience. Located in Tiruchirapalli, this temple stands as one of the most beautiful and spiritually powerful places in India. Dedicated to Lord Ranganatha, a reclining form of Lord Vishnu, the temple is not just a place of worship but a living example of South Indian art, architecture, and devotion. The temple complex is massive and feels like a city in itself, surrounded by seven walls and twenty-one magnificent towers (gopurams). The main Rajagopuram, which is the tallest in Asia, is an architectural wonder — beautifully carved and painted, visible from a long distance. Walking through its ancient stone corridors, you can sense the centuries of faith and devotion that have filled this place. The atmosphere inside is peaceful yet vibrant. The chants, the smell of incense, and the sight of the beautifully decorated deity create an aura of positivity and calmness. The priests and temple staff are polite and helpful, and the arrangements are well-organized despite the large number of devotees. What touched me most was the feeling of serenity and connection I felt during darshan. It’s a place where faith feels alive. The temple also holds immense cultural importance, especially during Vaikunta Ekadasi, when thousands of devotees gather in divine celebration. Overall, Srirangam Temple is not just a religious site but a journey into heritage, devotion, and peace. A must-visit for anyone coming to Tamil Nadu — it truly deserves all five stars.

Aagaya Gangai water falls

Mentioned on
1 list

Nature & Parks
Nestled in the stunning Kolli Hills, Aagaya Gangai Waterfalls is a breathtaking destination that promises an unforgettable adventure. This natural wonder features crystal-clear waters cascading over lush green rocks, creating a serene and enchanting atmosphere. The journey to the falls involves descending approximately 1,032 steps, which can be quite challenging but ultimately rewarding as you are greeted by the mesmerizing views and refreshing mist of the waterfall.
The water fall is very beautiful and high. There are 1200 steps one side to reach the base of the waterfall which is steep and tiring, but it’s worth it. Must visit spot when you are planning to track the amazing 70 hairpins of the Kolli hills.

Not a falls person but this made me one. It was majestic, spectacular and huge. We had to climb down steep steps of 1100 steps to get down there. Getting up again might be difficult. But it's worth the trip. Literally the best falls in Tamil Nadu imo.

Best waterfall in kolli hills but has 1000+ steepy stairs, requires multiple rest stops according to one's fitness level.

Aagaya Gangai Waterfalls – A Breathtaking Adventure Worth Every Effort!!! Visiting “Aagaya Gangai Waterfalls” in the “Kolli Hills” was an unforgettable experience—a perfect mix of natural beauty and an adventurous trek! The waterfall itself is absolutely mesmerising, with crystal-clear water cascading down lush green rocks, creating a serene and almost magical atmosphere. The sound of the falls, the cool mist in the air, and the surrounding dense forest make it feel like a hidden paradise. However, reaching the falls is “not for the faint-hearted!” The descent involves “around 1,200 steep steps”, and while the views along the way are stunning, the climb down (and especially back up) is quite challenging. The steps can be slippery, so wearing “good trekking shoes” is a must. There are a few resting spots along the way, but be prepared for a strenuous workout. If you’re not used to long treks, take it slow and carry enough water. Once you reach the bottom, the sight of the “powerful waterfall” makes every step worth it! The pool at the base is perfect for a refreshing dip, though the currents can be strong, so caution is needed. The untouched beauty of the place makes it feel like a secret escape from the world. Tips for future visitors: ✅ Start early to avoid the midday heat. ✅ Carry snacks, water, and a change of clothes. ✅ Wear “non-slip shoes” the steps can be treacherous. ✅ If you have knee or mobility issues, reconsider the trek. The journey back up is even harder, so pace yourself. But honestly, the sheer beauty of Aagaya Gangai makes the struggle worthwhile. It’s one of the most stunning waterfalls in Tamil Nadu, and the sense of accomplishment after completing the trek is unbeatable! “Highly recommended for adventure lovers and nature enthusiasts” just be prepared for a tough but rewarding experience! 🌿💦 Would I visit again? Absolutely! (But maybe after some leg training! 😆)

Kolli Hills: A Paradise for Nature Lovers If you're a nature enthusiast, Kolli Hills is a must-visit destination. Among its many attractions, the breathtaking Aagaya Gangai Waterfalls stands out. Located just a few kilometers from the city center, you can easily reach the entry point to the falls by car or bike. The Tamil Nadu Forest Department charges a nominal entry fee of ₹25 per person. From the entry, you'll need to descend about 600-900 steps to reach the waterfall. While the trek can be a bit challenging, the stunning views of nature along the way make it feel like a dream. The falls themselves are nothing short of spectacular. Towering and powerful, the cascading water resembles fine powder pouring from the top of the hill. The spray from the falls is so intense that it feels like standing in a gentle rain—an experience that will leave you mesmerized. Tips for Visitors: Wear raincoats and use waterproof mobile covers. Avoid carrying electronic gadgets unless they are well-protected from water. Aagaya Gangai is truly a must-visit spot for anyone exploring Kolli Hills. (This review is based on my personal experience.)

The walk down and up the 1200+ steps is worth for the view. It’s sad though to see the trash of plastics, clothes, etc. We seriously lack civic sense to maintain our nature.

Sri Ramanasramam, located in Tiruvannamalai (Arunachalam), is a serene ashram complex that holds great spiritual significance. It is a must-visit destination near the main temple, offering a tranquil atmosphere for meditation and prayer rituals. The ashram features a Hindu shrine, library, and tree-lined grounds where visitors can immerse themselves in peaceful contemplation.
It's a place where I feel utmost peace. The ashram is full of trees and greenery. It's a very good place for meditation as they have separate meditation halls. You see birds everywhere and particularly, peacocks make you feel happy. Through the Ashram, there is a way to Virupaksha cave and city view point from the top of the Arunachala hill. The whole journey towards the cave, makes you refresh and gives you an experience of trekking with bare feet. They have washrooms as well with well maintained. There is a big book stall as well. So, Such an amazing place to visit once in a lifetime.

Most peaceful and calming. Very good for meditation Can even do meditation before maharshi samadhi inside the shrine Can find household items, utensils, bed, books, etc used Ramana himself in the small room at the right side At the entrance big book stall with plenty of wisdom Peacocks everywhere 😍
Vamsi N — Google review
I visited the ashram roughly after 5 years or so. This time I found quite a considerable number of visitors, more so youngsters or families with kids, which was surprising for a weekday after noon. The solitude atmosphere was no longer seen inside the ashram. But it was very noteworthy that despite the presence of so much crowd, there was comparatively very little noise. However, parking has become quite difficult. The area outside the ashram has been totally taken over by auto rickshaws and some of them even blocking the way.

The Sri Ramanasramam in Thiruvanamalai is a globally renowned spiritual center, known for its deep sense of peace and for preserving the legacy of the modern sage, Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi. Spiritual Significance and Atmosphere The Ashram was the home of Sri Ramana Maharshi from 1922 until his passing in 1950, and it is built around the Samadhi shrine of his mother, Alagammal. Path of Self-Inquiry: The ashram is the epicenter for the Maharshi's direct path of Self-Inquiry (asking the fundamental question, "Who Am I?"). His teachings emphasize finding the true, unchanging Self beneath all of life's experiences. Profound Peace and Stillness: Visitors consistently describe the atmosphere as "very calm, peace" and "serene," where "silence and inner reflection take precedence." Many report feeling a sense of stillness and "immense of peace" upon entering. Samadhi Shrine: The main hall houses the Samadhi (resting place) of Sri Ramana Maharshi. Devotees spend hours here in silent meditation, absorbing the tranquil energy and profound spiritual power. Connection to Arunachala: The ashram is intimately connected to the Thiruvanamalai, which Ramana Maharshi taught was a living embodiment of Lord Shiva. The hill looms quietly in the background, reinforcing the spiritual energy of the site. If this was helpful👍🏻Check out YouTube channal PriyaRajDiaries❤️PriyaJayantPJ

One of the best places to visit . I am requesting each and every person who is visiting Arunachalam please visit this ashram also. No photos and videos are allowed inside the ashram . But while going to the hilltop we can take but be cautious with the monkey. But one small issue is there if you drop the slippers in the ramana maharshi ashram when you climb the hilltop then You must get down again to take the slippers but if you go from the backside of the ashram then you can climb the temple with the slippers under get back from the other side of the mountain to the temple.

Sri Ramanasramam, nestled at the base of the sacred Arunachala hill in Tiruvannamalai, is a serene spiritual retreat dedicated to the teachings and legacy of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi. The ashram blends simplicity with profound devotion, creating an atmosphere that encourages meditation, inner peace, and self-reflection. Its halls, adorned with sacred statues and photographs, radiate a deep stillness, while the lush gardens and presence of peacocks add to its natural charm. Arunachaleshwara Temple has impressive scale and architecture, spiritual significance as one of the Pancha Bhoota Sthalam (Agni or fire), and the importance of the Girivalam (circumambulation of the Annamalai hill). It has a powerful, spiritual atmosphere, noting that the temple can be very crowded, especially during festivals or special events like Karthigai Deepam or full moon days., but also that early morning visits offer a more serene experience. Commonly mentioned engineering marvels of the temple, such as the massive stone construction and the mysterious shadow of the vimana and the spiritual energy of the place. You can pre-book just before 2-3 hours for darshan and can be booked both online and offline to avoid the long queues for darshan. Puja items are sold around the temple area.

Visited on week end. Too much crowded. Took around 5 hours to take the darshan. Finding car parking was difficult. Finally could able to park with the help of a auto drive around 800 meters away from Raja gopuram basically it's one of the entrance. Parking fee was Rs 80. I am not sure if this parking was really run by temple authority because it dint look so. Better to take Rs 50 entrance ticket to save some time. I was not aware that there is such facility. After the darshan we can buy sweet pongal and pulihogre for Rs. 10 each. Temple also sells laddus and other items priced Rs. 50 each.

Visited here during Pournami and did the Giripradakshina at night, starting around 12 AM and completing it by 6 AM. The crowd was massive, so after finishing the walk we took some rest in the morning as darshan was difficult due to the rush. Later in the afternoon, around 2 PM, we went for darshan and were able to complete it in just 30 minutes. The experience was peaceful and truly blissful — we really loved the place. Arulmigu Annamalaiyar (Arunachaleswarar) Temple in Tiruvannamalai is a major South Indian Shiva temple located at the foot of the sacred Arunachala Hill. Built by the early Cholas in the 9th century and expanded by later dynasties, it stands as a grand example of Dravidian architecture with many gopurams, mandapams, shrines, and temple tanks. The temple’s spiritual significance is highlighted in texts like Arunachala Puranam and Tiruppugazh, and Lord Shiva is believed to have manifested here as a self-born lingam under a magizha tree. Many saints, including Ramana Maharshi and Seshadri Swamigal, attained samadhi here. I visited today along with my friend, and the darshan was amazing. We spent nearly an hour in the temple after the darshan, and it filled us with a lot of positive energy. Please note: On Pradosham and auspicious days, the temple becomes highly crowded, and waiting time for darshan can range from 3 to more than 6 hours. Parking is also difficult, and you may have to park far from the temple and walk or take auto. If visiting with senior citizens, plan accordingly. Buying special dharshan ticket for Rs 50/- will help.. To avoid crowds, visit on non-festival days, non-auspicious days, and weekdays.

It is a very spiritual and peaceful place. A very good temple to visit with family and friends. The atmosphere is divine and gives a positive energy. Some suggestions for improvement: Currently, the entry fees are accepted only in cash. It would be better if they start accepting UPI or digital payments, as it is convenient for many visitors. Also, they often ask for exact change, which is difficult sometimes. In case of emergencies, it would be good if the management allows devotees to exit easily. For example, one parent’s kid was crying but they did not allow them to leave quickly and insisted on following the full queue. Since they are collecting entry fees, they should provide better services and facilities for devotees. Some of the management staff have a rude attitude, which can be improved to make devotees feel more welcomed. Overall, it is a must-visit spiritual place, but these small improvements can make the experience even better.

Heard about this place a lot so went on 5th oct 25 with family. The parking area was covered but still slushy due to overnight rains. We had to wade through the slush. Though entry fee was rupees 20 but no staff was available hence we entered free. The temple was maintained well. The siva lingams were placed in a orderly manner and pathway was built to access all the lingams. On the biggest lingam honeybees have built their honeycomb. Photo attached. Anyone can keep a lingam in their name after paying rupees 8000 for small one, 35000 for a bigger one and more than a lac for giant size siva lingam. A small pooja will be conducted then a space is allotted for your lingam. Drawback was they do not accept gpay or credit card or debit card only cash. This issue needs to be addressed by the temple authorities. They should not expect devotees to bring this much amount of cash. Infact for using toilet facilities the person collects rupees 5 per head via gpay though the toilet was nasty. The authorities must reign up the contractor. Overall a must visit place but take good amount of cash if you want to keep a lingam there.
Balasubramanian N — Google review
Worthy of a one time visit only. Lots of various hindu deities within the complex, beside the 'koti' (meaning crore/ten million) shivlings spread across the place. Serene and peaceful yet this place is by no means a temple for offering prayers. It's clearly made out to be more of a tourist attraction. Starting from paid parking, entry fee of ₹20/- per person, directed visitors in a sequence to confront various hindu deities where the pujari's give you extra attention if one offers money. Better yet, these 'pujaris' coax every visiting individual to 'offer' money for 'blessings'. If one doesn't give/offer money, they grumble and show a care less attitude. Personally dissappointed and not likely to visit this place ever again. I reiterate, this place is more of a tourist attraction, not exactly a place of worship. Accordingly, go mentally prepared when visiting this place.

Temple is very good. Road is also nice to drive if you by Bangalore-Chennai expressway. The only thing which I did not like was at the entrance many transgenders who would demand money from everyone. Other thing is unnecessary forcing people through all the small temples in a queue. Rest all things are very nice and energy there is astonishing. Pujari told there was Brihma temple as well which is second only after Pushkar ji.

Kotilingeshwara Temple, located in Kamasandra near Kolar (about 90 km from Bangalore), is a unique and significant spiritual site. The name "Kotilingeshwara" translates to "Lord of a Crore (10 million) Lingas", symbolizing devotion and the massive scale of the temple's spiritual ambition. The main attraction is the 108-foot-tall Shiva Linga, one of the tallest in the world, accompanied by a 35-foot Nandi statue. Surrounding it are over 90 lakh (9 million) small Shivalingas, installed by devotees over the years. According to a priest there, around 10 lakh more need to be installed to reach the goal of 1 crore (10 million) Lingas, which is the temple's namesake and vision. The temple complex also houses shrines for many other deities such as Ganesha, Hanuman, Annapoorneshwari, Vishnu, and others, making it a multi-deity pilgrimage spot. That said, the experience feels over-commercialized. There's a mandatory ₹20 entrance fee, and almost every shrine has people expecting or insisting on donations, even for a simple darshan. Especially at the Annapoorneshwari shrine, visitors are pressured to donate ₹100 or ₹200 in exchange for a packet of vibhuti, which many may find forceful or inappropriate. Overall, it’s a fascinating temple to visit for its scale and symbolism, but be prepared for repeated donation requests and a very money-minded environment.

Recently visited the place early morning from Bangalore, the road is so good for a road trip. The timing of temple opening mentioned on google is wrong, it doesn’t open at 6 am it does at 7:30 am so plan your travel accordingly. There is ample parking space around the temple, footwear stands are available and some local shops around the temple. The entry ticket is Rs 20 per adult, kids below six years have free entry. The temple allows only traditional dress code for men and women, and phones are allowed inside the temple premises. There are many small temples inside of different deities along with all the lingams. There are many temple area is huge and takes at least an hour to visit fully. The views are mesmerising and definitely worth visiting at least once in your lifetime!

The Sri Lakshmi Narayani Golden Temple, also known as the Sripuram Golden Temple, is a magnificent structure located at the base of lush hills in southern Vellore. It is renowned for being the largest golden temple globally and features a stunning star-shaped path and beautiful gardens within its spiritual park complex. The temple houses a 70-kilogram statue of Sri Lakshmi Narayani, adorned with 1500 kilograms of pure gold.
Very beautiful place surrounded by green. After entering from the main gate there's the ticket counter on the left . After getting tickets there are counters for keeping your phones and shoes (different counters for both). As phones were not allowed couldn't take any more pictures. Then walk through the passage gates according to your tickets price. Visit the temples , watch different trees on the way. Very eye soothing. You can get "bhog" at last before the exit. Worth visiting for Lakshmi’s blessings, but skip the ticket. 🙏🏻 It’s a beautiful temple and definitely worth visiting to receive the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi. However, I don’t recommend buying the paid ticket — I got the ₹300 one and honestly, it wasn’t worth it. The free visit is more than enough to enjoy the temple. 🪷✨

🌸 Lakshmi Narayani Mata Temple 🌸 I visited this temple recently after many years — it still looks the same as I saw it back in 2012! The place is well maintained, peaceful, and beautiful. Only the ticket system has changed, but everything else remains just as good as before. The darshan experience was wonderful. Lakshmi Narayani Mata Ki Jai! 🙏

SEE THEIR CHARGES IN PICS. IF U PAY MIN RS.150/- (A MUST) U HV TO WALK FOR 2 KMS QUEUE PATH FOR SRI SWARNA LAXMI's DHARSHAN. IF U PAY MORE, LESS WAITING. APPRECIABLY MOTHER'S FEEDING ROOMS & TOILETS ARE INSIDE. FEMALE STAFFS ARE SHIVERINGLY WISHING SECURITIES. IN A DIVINE PLACE, SECURITIES ARE COMMANDING IN A RUDE SLANG even to DEVOTEES. HOW THIS MUCH OF LAND WITH MORE TREES at the bed of hills IS ACQUIRED?? INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISTS MUST ENTER TO REVEAL THE ACTUAL THINGS IN & AROUND HERE. BETTER GENUINE HINDUS NOT TO VISIT HERE. WE CAN JUST ENJOY THE WINDY PICNIC SPOT FEEL.

Ekambaranathar Temple, also known as the Lord of Mango Tree, is a 12th-century Hindu temple complex in Kanchipuram. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, it showcases the architectural brilliance of the Chola dynasty. The temple features tiered towers and a colorful pillared hall, drawing thousands of visitors annually. One of its most notable attractions is a 3,500-year-old mango tree on the premises.
The most famous and oldest temple in kanchipuram. Which had 1000 sivalinga and 1008 pillers and very big and very oledest temple in chennai kanchipuram. A peaceful and divine temple with beautiful traditional architecture. The main gopuram is currently under construction, and once completed, it will look even more majestic. There’s no luggage counter, so it’s better to avoid carrying bags. A must-visit place in Kanchipuram for its spiritual atmosphere and heritage beauty.

One of the divine abodes of Lord Shiva, which is one of the Panch Bhootha Sthalams representing the 5 elements. Temple space is very vast and there is a famous Mango tree inside the premises which is a must visit. The temple is under construction and hence many access points are restricted from public. Looking forward to visit the temple again after renovation(Dec 2nd week).

Visited on a busy Sunday, the Ekambarnathar Temple in Kanchipuram greets you with a lively, devotional energy that complements its deep sense of history. The complex feels expansive yet intimate in places, with shaded corridors and open courtyards that make it easy to move between shrines and admire details at a relaxed pace. However, the parking area is a mess and muddied. We did park some distance away due to roadblocks within the city, but there is ample place for cars to be accommodated adjacent to the temple itself. The temple is one of the "Pancha Bhoota Sthalas", representing the five elements of Earth, and is dedicated to Lord Shiva in the form of Ekambaranathar. A sacred mango tree is clearly noticed within the complex where Goddess Kamakshi (a form of Parvati) is said to have done her penance to win over Shiva in marriage. It is claimed that the four branches of the tree provide four differing varieties of mangoes in taste and shape with the tree itself being over 3500 years old. Architecturally, the complex showcases classic Dravidian architecture with towering gopurams, pillared halls, and richly carved mandapas. The site’s origins reach back many centuries, with major contributions from Pallava, Chola, and later dynasties; the complex spans a very large area and is among the most substantial temple precincts in the region. Take time to savour in the complex and the intricately carved pillars. Better infrastructure development around this would be helpful. The main entrance and gopuram has construction ongoing and thus not accessible.

We visited this temple on the Saturday evening. There was no rush at all. Temple entry is free & there weren't any special queue. The temple is magnificent and wonder of architecture. The temple is spread in large area. There is ample car parking space. The Shankaracharya Muth is very near to this temple. We felt a divine experience while visiting this temple.

Ekambaranathan Temple in Kanchipuram is one of the most ancient and sacred Shiva temples in Tamil Nadu. Built around the 12th century, it showcases stunning Tamil architecture with a tall ten-tiered gopuram and hundreds of beautifully carved pillars, each telling mythological tales. The temple is famous for its 3500-year-old mango tree, believed to represent the four Vedas. Though parts of the temple are under renovation, it remains clean and peaceful, with fewer crowds than Kamakshi Temple. Visiting with an authorised guide helps understand its spiritual and historical significance. Truly a must-visit heritage site in Kanchipuram.

Ancient temple with Tamil Architecture. A shiva temple constructed probably in 12 th century. Most of the temple is under renovation. The front gopura is almost ten storied. Each column (there are hundreds of them) depicts a mythological story. There is a Mango tree which is believed to be 3500 old... that's the story. One must visit this place for its architectural marvel. Good along with authorised guide to understand the significance and history.

Ekambareswarar Temple in Kanchipuram (Tamil Nadu) is one of the most ancient and grand temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. According to Puranas, Goddess Parvati performed penance under a mango tree to win Lord Shiva’s hand in marriage. She fashioned a Shiva Lingam out of sand, and when the river threatened to wash it away, Shiva protected it by spreading his hand over it — thus blessing her devotion. Built in Dravidian style, expanded by Pallavas, Cholas, and Vijayanagar Kings.

The queue arrangements are systematic, so even when there are many devotees, things move smoothly without confusion. The priests perform the poojas with great devotion, and the rituals are conducted in a traditional and disciplined way, which made the experience even more divine. I was also impressed with the temple’s surroundings and the beautiful gopuram and architecture, which reflect such rich culture and heritage. The prasadam was served fresh and was very tasty. Visited the Sri Padmavati Ammavari Temple with family on a weekend 01.11.2025(Saturday) around 07:20 AM... We opted ticket for the INR 50 per person darshan. There was a short waiting time of about 20-30 minutes as the Aarti was in progress, but it was well managed. The darshan experience was smooth, with no crowd pushing or chaos, something that made the visit even more peaceful. Feeling truly blessed. 🙏 Only one disappointed. Proper Car parking is not available. Official temple parking should be allocated some space.🚗 Many parking lots collecting whatever they wish to charge. Anywhere in any street some person will come and give you Parking token. At the time of my visit in above mentioned date, a person in scooty token and charged rupees 70 for car.

Isha B — Google review
I recently visited the ISKCON Temple in Tirupati and honestly, I left with mixed feelings leaning more towards disappointment. While the temple itself is beautiful in architecture and grandeur, the overall atmosphere felt more commercial than spiritual. From the moment you enter, you are constantly nudged towards donation counters, book stalls, and prasad shops rather than being allowed to quietly connect with the divine. The focus seems heavily tilted towards generating revenue, with too much emphasis on selling products and promoting programs. The peace and meditative environment I expected was often interrupted by announcements and sales-like approaches, which took away from the serenity of worship. Even darshan felt rushed, as though it was part of a transaction, not a soulful experience. The temple staff appeared more concerned with managing the flow of money and visitors rather than guiding them spiritually. For a place meant to uplift the soul, the commercialization was a big letdown. Though ISKCON has done great work globally, this particular branch in Tirupati felt more like a spiritual marketplace than a sanctuary. If you’re seeking a deep, divine connection, this may not fulfill your expectations.

Visiting Tirumala Temple is truly a divine and unforgettable experience. The atmosphere is filled with devotion, and the spiritual energy here is something beyond words. The darshan of Lord Venkateswara gives a sense of peace and fulfillment that stays with you long after the visit. The temple is well-organized despite the huge number of devotees arriving every day. Facilities like accommodation, tonsuring halls, and prasadam distribution are systematically managed. However, due to the large crowds, waiting times for darshan can be long, so planning in advance is advisable. The surroundings of the temple are serene, with the natural beauty of the Tirumala hills adding to the divine aura. The laddoo prasadam is another highlight, unique in taste and offered with great devotion. Overall, a visit to Tirumala is not just about darshan, but also about experiencing the blend of faith, tradition, and divinity in one of the most sacred pilgrimage destinations in India. The highlight here is the stunning lighting during the Brahmotsavam festival, which looks absolutely spectacular.

Visited Tirupati after many years with a lot of excitement, but the experience turned out very disappointing 👎👎 Even with reserved tickets, we had to wait more than 7 hours and got barely 5 seconds for darshan. It feels unfair for devotees who patiently wait for so long. A few issues we faced: • Plastic was everywhere despite “No Plastic” rules. • Dress code was not followed by many. • Food quality and hygiene were very poor - even simple canteens outside serve better. • Washrooms were untidy. • No proper guidance to reach allotted cottages. • Cottage/cleaning staff kept asking for money during checkout. The worst part was returning to our cottage after darshan and finding officials cutting trees and damaging the building area. The stairs became unsafe to use, and the staff showed no concern when we questioned it. Overall, what we hoped would be a memorable spiritual visit turned into a stressful experience. Truly disappointed, and I personally wouldn’t recommend visiting under such conditions.

Visiting Tirumala Temple, nestled amidst the sacred Tirumala Hills of Andhra Pradesh, is one of the most divine and unforgettable experiences any devotee can have. The moment you reach the temple, you are surrounded by an atmosphere filled with faith, devotion, and spiritual energy that words can hardly describe. The darshan of Lord Venkateswara gives an indescribable sense of peace, fulfillment, and divine connection that stays with you long after you return. Every step inside the temple complex radiates spiritual power and calmness. Temple Timings: Suprabhatam Seva (Morning Ritual): Starts around 2:30 AM General Darshan (Sarva Darshan): From 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM (subject to change during festivals) Ekanta Seva (Night Ritual): Around 1:00 AM ⏰ It’s best to check official TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams) updates before planning your visit, as timings can vary on special occasions. 🏠 Facilities & Management: Despite the massive number of pilgrims visiting daily, the temple is exceptionally well-organized. Accommodation: Available in different categories, from free dormitories to guest houses and cottages managed by TTD. Tonsuring Halls: Clean and well-maintained for devotees offering hair. Prasadam Distribution: The famous Tirupati Laddoo, sacred and delicious, is given as prasadam — a must-taste blessing. Transport & Queue Management: TTD ensures smooth crowd flow, though waiting times for darshan can be long, especially on weekends or festival days. Advance booking is highly recommended. 🌄 Surroundings & Atmosphere: The temple is surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the Tirumala Hills, enhancing the sense of peace and devotion. Early morning mist, temple bells, and chants of “Govinda Govinda” create an experience that feels truly divine. 🎉 Special Highlight – Brahmotsavam Festival: During Brahmotsavam, Tirumala transforms into a spectacular vision of devotion and lights. The temple’s grand illumination and colorful decorations make it one of the most mesmerizing sights to witness in a lifetime. 🙏 Final Words: A visit to Tirumala is not just about darshan — it’s about feeling the divine presence, embracing centuries-old traditions, and experiencing the ultimate blend of faith, discipline, and peace. Whether it’s your first visit or the hundredth, the experience always feels new, pure, and deeply spiritual. 🌺 Truly, Tirumala is not just a temple — it’s an experience of divinity itself.

Tirupati Temple is undoubtedly one of the most sacred and spiritually powerful places in India. The divine atmosphere and the feeling of being so close to Lord Venkateswara are truly beyond words. However, despite the spiritual bliss, the overall management experience could be much better. The temple premises are extremely crowded, and managing such a huge number of devotees clearly seems challenging. The queue system, especially during peak hours, often feels chaotic and tiring. People have to wait for long hours with very little information or guidance from staff. Another major issue is the lack of basic amenities, particularly food options for families with small children. Once you enter the long queue for darshan, it becomes almost impossible to find suitable food or milk for babies, which makes the wait even more difficult for parents. Cleanliness and crowd control also need more attention. With proper management and better facilities for devotees, the experience could be far more peaceful and comfortable. Overall, while the temple’s spiritual energy is unmatched, the administrative side needs significant improvement to match the devotion people bring here.

Srikalahasti Temple, located in Srikalahasti, Andhra Pradesh, is a renowned Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple boasts stunning Dravidian architecture and intricate carvings that date back to the 5th century A.D. One of its unique features is the Vayu Linga, symbolizing the element air. Pilgrims flock to witness the Rahu-Ketu puja for astrological remedies.
Srikalahasti Temple, near Tirupati I recently visited the ancient Srikalahasteeswara Temple, also known as Kalahasti Temple, located just a short drive from Tirupati. It’s one of the most divine and powerful Shiva temples I’ve ever been to. The temple is famous for the Vayu Lingam, representing the air element — one of the five Pancha Bhoota Sthalams. The temple’s architecture is stunning — beautifully carved pillars, a grand gopuram, and an atmosphere filled with deep devotion. You can truly feel centuries of faith here. The stories of Sri (spider), Kala (snake), and Hasti (elephant) add even more spiritual depth to the experience. Inside the temple, the darshan feels peaceful and sacred. The priests perform pujas with dedication, especially the Rahu–Ketu dosha nivarana puja, which many devotees come for. It’s an old and historic temple, yet the vibrations and positive energy are beyond words. A must-visit place for anyone coming to Tirupati — you feel truly blessed after visiting.

Srikalahasti Temple is truly a divine and unforgettable spiritual destination. Located in the serene town of Srikalahasti, this ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva (as Vayu Lingam) is known for its powerful spiritual vibrations and sacred significance, especially for Rahu–Ketu pooja. The moment you enter the temple premises, you feel a deep sense of peace and devotion. The architecture is stunning, with beautifully carved gopurams, intricate sculptures, and a calm temple atmosphere that instantly soothes the mind. The Rahu–Ketu pooja is well-organized, and priests guide devotees clearly through the process. It is advisable to visit on weekdays to avoid long queues, as weekends and festival days can be very crowded. The temple surroundings are clean, and facilities have improved over the years, though parking and crowd management can still be challenging during peak hours. The river flowing beside the temple adds to the scenic charm and enhances the spiritual experience. Local shops outside sell pooja items and prasadam at reasonable prices. Overall, Srikalahasti Temple is a must-visit for anyone seeking spiritual upliftment and divine blessings. A peaceful, soul-refreshing experience that stays with you long after the visit.

A Must-Visit Temple Near Tirupati — Truly Divine Experience Sri Kalahasti Temple is an absolute gem. If you’re visiting Tirupati Balaji, I highly recommend coming here — honestly, this place felt even more peaceful and powerful. The temple architecture is stunning and so detailed that it stays in your memory for life. The energy inside the main sanctum is incredible. The entire temple complex sits beautifully near the hills, and you can even visit the ancient Kannappa temple above, along with the sculptures of Shiva and Parvati — the vibe is unreal. If you’re someone who values spirituality, history, or just wants a place that feels pure and divine, Kala Hasti is worth every minute. Don’t miss it ✨

Visiting the Sri Kalahasteeswara Temple in Srikalahasti is a deeply spiritual and architecturally rich experience. The temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva in his form as Vayu (air), is one of the five Pancha Bhoota Sthalams and holds strong significance. 👍 What stands out The dravidian-style architecture is impressive — carved pillars, large halls, the grand gopuram, and the sanctum give a sense of age and devotion. The Vayu Lingam — representing the element of air — and the legends surrounding the temple (spider, snake, elephant worshipping here) add depth and mythic resonance to the visit. The pooja for Rahu-Ketu dosha (astrological remedy) is a draw for many devotees, giving the temple an active, living ritual dimension.

This sacred temple is a must-visit. The divine vibrations and powerful spiritual energy here are extraordinary. It is one of the most effective places for Sarpa Dosha Nivarana and Rahu–Ketu Pooja.

We visited Sri Kalahasti Temple from Chennai, and it was a memorable experience. The temple is known for its historical and spiritual significance, especially famous for Rahu-Ketu poojas. It’s one of the most important Shiva temples in South India, with rich heritage and powerful spiritual energy. The drive from Chennai was smooth till Sullurpeta, with wide and well-maintained roads. After that, the road becomes narrow and supports two-way traffic, so a bit of caution is needed. That said, the route is scenic, clean, and visually refreshing — we truly enjoyed the journey. There’s paid parking available (₹60) near the temple. We were pleasantly surprised to find hot and tasty pongal served inside, which added to the overall comfort. The temple was very crowded as we visited on a Sunday. We opted for the ₹50 ticket, but still had to wait over 2 hours in the queue. Be prepared for long waiting times, especially during weekends or festival days. Mobile phones are strictly not allowed, and we had to store them in a locker facility (₹20 per phone) before entering the premises. Also, be aware of many random priests approaching for unofficial pujas and offerings outside and even inside the temple premises — kindly stay alert and follow the official counters only. Overall, a deeply spiritual experience — just plan ahead for the crowd and logistics!

The Srikalahasti Temple is a Hindu shrine in Andhra Pradesh, India, dedicated to Lord Shiva as the Vayu Lingam (wind element). It is famous for being one of the Pancha Bhoota Sthalams and for the Rahu-Ketu pooja, believed to alleviate doshas associated with these planets. The temple is known for its Dravidian architecture and is named after a spider (Sri), a snake (Kala), and an elephant (Hasti), all of whom are said to have worshipped Shiva there.
