Pawna Lake, a stunning artificial reservoir nestled in the heart of Maharashtra's Sahyadri mountain range, is an idyllic retreat for those looking to escape the chaos of urban life. Just a short drive from Pune and Mumbai, this serene lake is perfect for camping, picnics, and photography enthusiasts eager to capture its breathtaking views. The area also boasts nearby historical sites like fortress ruins that add a touch of adventure to your visit.
My friends and I visited this place recently. The first thing that you will notice once you are there is the beautiful water of the lake. The place was really quiet and filled with nice bird 🕊️ sounds. There are multiple camps set up at the side of the lake. At the camps there were many activities such as badminton, cricket, caram board, chess, archery, etc. also there were boat rides inside the lake. The sunset at the lake was a must watch thing. The only thing was the worst of the place was food as there were no food stalls and the camp we stayed in didn't provide us good food. Which was only bummer. Rest all was great. I would really recommend this place for couples, family and friends. Also it can be a good spot for a picnic. All and all had a great time. NOTE: Carry something dry to eat as there is no shop near the place of camp.

Best for Camp piece full place enjoy and relax. It is a very good place, you will get good roads to reach there, you may have to climb a little mountain, it is good for nature activities, you just have to find a good camp which is near the lake, you can also take a bath in it

Such a peaceful and refreshing camping spot! The lake is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by stunning mountain views that make mornings and evenings magical. Perfect place to relax, unwind, and connect with nature. Boating on the lake was an amazing experience — calm waters and breathtaking scenery all around. The atmosphere is quiet, clean, and very family-friendly. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in the lap of nature!

Pawna Lake: Beautiful, yes, but monsoon is the best time to visit! The water is a stunning blue from above, then silent and peaceful when you walk to the edge. 🌅 Sunset is a must-see! 🛶 Enjoy a boat ride or try kayaking. An unforgettable experience!

Absolutely worth visiting in the monsoon, especially if you're looking for a peaceful getaway as lesser crowd and surrounded by stunning natural beauty. The vibrant green scenery, misty hills, and seasonal waterfalls create a unique and magical atmosphere that you need.

📍 Pawna Lake – Maharashtra’s Most Loved Camping Spot! ⛺🌌 If you’re looking for a peaceful lakeside escape with starry nights, crackling bonfires, and pure mountain vibes — Pawna Lake is your perfect getaway. Just 2 hours from Pune and 3 hours from Mumbai, this serene lake is surrounded by forts, greenery, and scenic hills. 🏞️ I visited Pawna recently, and I can confidently say — it’s one of the best chill spots to relax, recharge, and reconnect with nature or your people 🧘‍♂️✨ --- 🛏️ Camping Experience The best way to enjoy Pawna is to stay overnight in a tent. Most campsites offer a full package — including dinner, BBQ, breakfast, music, games, and sometimes kayaking or boating. 🔥 Imagine this: Bonfire + friends + music + stargazing + sound of water = perfect night vibes! Tents are usually lakeside and come with sleeping mats, pillows, and common clean washrooms. (Pro tip: Check reviews before booking!) --- 🍽️ Food & BBQ The typical dinner includes veg/non-veg thali with chapati, rice, dal, and sabji. Some camps offer BBQ starters like paneer tikka or chicken kababs. Nothing fancy — but fresh, local, and satisfying under the stars! 😋🌌 ☕ Don’t forget the evening tea and morning poha – simple but soulful. --- 🛶 Things to Do Around Pawna: ✔️ Chill by the lake with your feet in the water ✔️ Enjoy boating or kayaking at select camps ✔️ Play outdoor games – volleyball, cricket, archery ✔️ Visit nearby forts: Tung, Tikona, Lohagad, Visapur 🏯 ✔️ Ride around scenic roads for cool photo spots 📸 --- 🗺️ How to Reach: From Pune: Via Paud Road or Old Mumbai-Pune Highway From Mumbai: Via Lonavala (exit at Kamshet) 4-wheelers and bikes easily accessible. Roads are okay, but a bit patchy near the lake — drive slowly. --- 📝 My Tips: 🔹 Book a campsite with good reviews (some allow pets too!) 🔹 Carry warm clothes – it gets cold at night, even in summer 🔹 Don’t play loud music after 10 PM – respect the silence 🔹 Bring a power bank & flashlight 🔋 🔹 Avoid monsoon if you don’t like muddy areas --- 🔥 My Opinion: Pawna Lake is not just about water and tents — it’s an experience. You disconnect from the noise and connect with peace. Whether you're going with friends, your partner, or solo, the calm vibes and natural beauty leave you feeling refreshed.
Saurabh W — Google review

The Kondhane Buddhist Caves are an archaeological site with a network of caves that provide a picturesque setting for hiking. The caves contain remnants of Buddhist culture and several waterfalls add to the natural beauty of the area. These ruins offer visitors an opportunity to explore ancient history while enjoying scenic surroundings.
To reach this breathtaking view with you in the cave behind the waterfall, it takes 45min to trek. The starting point is from a single shop, Google was giving wrong direction so ask the shop owner for the way. You will reach the first stop of a waterfall in about 25 min. Then further 20min is the way to cave. The difficult level of the trek is medium. There are 2 shops on each of the stops - waterfall and caves which serve tea, maggi, bhuta, guava, cucumber. No ticket is needed. Just wear good hiking shoes and enjoy the journey.

A lesser known beautiful chaitya cave, along with Vihara caves. An uphill easy trek takes you to this beautiful place. This beautiful group can be accessed only by walking. It takes around 30 to 40 minutes to climb up through the forest, vale, streams and waterfalls. It's serene, picturesque and verdant when I visited. If you like a little adventure and get a feel of an exploration walk, take a trip.
Chandrashekhar J — Google review
Kondhane Caves, easily reached from Karjat, offers an ideal short historical trip. The hike is simple, taking only 30-40 minutes, perfect for all skill levels. The route is clearly marked by arrows painted on trees for easy navigation. Inside the small, ancient cave, you'll discover beautiful rock-cut carvings. Look for the fascinating, centuries-old Brahmi inscriptions and architecture. A highly recommended, accessible half-day escape into history.
Prathmesh M — Google review
"A great place to visit, especially during the monsoon! The trail to Kondana Caves offers a refreshing experience surrounded by lush greenery and flowing streams. The caves themselves are beautiful, and the nearby waterfall adds to the charm. Definitely worth a visit for nature lovers and trekkers."
Prramod P — Google review
"A Peaceful Escape into History 🌿" Such a peaceful and serene place! The short trek to Kondane Caves is quite manageable and safe for all age groups, with just a couple of slippery patches—so a bit of caution is advised, especially during the monsoon. These ancient Buddhist caves date back to the 1st century BCE and offer not only natural beauty but a deep connection to history. Carved into the rocky cliffs near Karjat, they once served as a monastery for Buddhist monks and included chaityas (prayer halls) and viharas (monastic cells) with simple yet elegant rock-cut architecture. It’s truly humbling to stand amidst such timeless craftsmanship while surrounded by dense forests and flowing streams. 🙏 A humble request to all fellow visitors: Please respect this heritage site. Avoid littering—especially inside the caves. Let’s preserve this treasure for future generations.
Tejas S — Google review
I visited Kodhane Caves this Sunday and absolutely loved the experience. The place is serene, quiet, and truly beautiful – perfect for anyone looking to escape the city hustle for some peace and natural beauty. We took an auto from Karjat Station to reach the base village, and the fare ranged between ₹250 to ₹350, depending on your bargaining skills. The short trek to the caves is refreshing, surrounded by lush greenery and scenic views. Once at the top, the caves are simple but fascinating, offering a peaceful vibe and a glimpse into ancient history. It's a great spot to sit, relax, and take in the beauty around. Highly recommended for nature lovers, history enthusiasts, or anyone looking for a peaceful weekend getaway. I’ll definitely visit again
Priyanka J — Google review
If you're looking to escape the city chaos and take a quiet step back in time, Kondhane Caves in Karjat offer the perfect mix of nature, history, and light adventure. Nestled in the Sahyadri hills near Rajmachi, these rock-cut Buddhist caves are a hidden gem—less commercialized than other heritage spots, but full of quiet charm. Getting There Located about 15 km from Karjat railway station, Kondhane Caves are reachable by a short drive followed by a moderate trek (around 45 min). The trail is scenic and shaded, winding through dense green forests, streams, and gentle slopes—especially stunning during monsoon season when small waterfalls line the path Simple. Scenic. Spiritually grounding. Best experienced in monsoon for full effect. Suitable trekk for kids and old age people

Lions tiger Point lonavla

Sights & Landmarks
Lookouts
It’s a beautiful place for nature lovers. You have the view of whole length and breadth of mountains. Lakes and valleys look so unreal from this view point and local food is just yumm. I know some of you may feel the hygiene issue but that is true for all the tourist spots. I know the iron fences ruin the view but they are a must as they ensure safety of selfie crazy people. Just like any other place people have littered this place as well, so many empty chips packets, glass bottles will ruin your pictures. Someone should take this responsibility to clean this area and then impose fines on people who are caught littering this beautiful place. Now that the monsoon has started the greenery has returned and weather was just awesome. However since we went on weekend there were long queues of car in the whole Lonavala city and This view point. You can also enjoy the scenic route and numerous waterfalls on the way.

Tiger Point in Lonavala is a calm and peaceful spot, perfect for spending some relaxing time. The view is truly enjoyable, especially when it’s cloudy or raining. On a sunny day, it might feel a bit uncomfortable due to the heat and sweat, but otherwise it’s a great experience. There is ample parking space available, and plenty of local shops around offering tea, coffee, maggi, fruits, and other snacks. A nice place to stop by if you’re visiting Lonavala.
Rahul G — Google review
Absolutely ridiculous experience. You have to climb all the way up from Lonavla city just to see this view. The view is lovely but not as worth it to come. This place must be crowded in the monsoons due to waterfalls but I think it would not be great to visit in monsoons as well. I did not get why this is called as the lions point. Seriously! The worst part is that the staff took ₹50/- for parking. We just stayed for around 5 min but still. They should keep a time limit of the parking of vehicles. Overall the experience is not worth it and I recommend you to go here if you have plenty of time. —————————————————————— 😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑

Devkund Waterfall

Nature & Parks
Devkund Waterfall, located in Bhira village, has gained popularity as a trekking destination and is considered a paradise for adventure enthusiasts. The waterfall is believed to be the source of the Kundalika River and can be reached after a 3 to 4-hour trek through dense forests with some water crossings. While entry fees are mandatory, there are guides along the way to assist visitors. Accommodation options in the village are available but not luxurious.
The trek is such a great one. Lots of amazing view points , beautiful trail completely visible and well put trail. Would be a worthy and easy trek with some water crossings, muddy terrains. A monsoon must do trek. Charges 200/- per person
Ram — Google review
Devkund waterfall is a beginner level trek and it takes around 5-6 hours to go and come back again to the base village. We got heavy rainfall during the trek and that was the most beautiful part of the trek. The trail is very beautiful and the view is just amazing. We went with Trekkers tribe company and we can even see local villagers are also there to guide us.Start the trek as early as possible to have less crowd at waterfall.
NEEL S — Google review
Visiting Devkund Waterfall was truly one of the most memorable experiences of my life. We started the trek from Patnus Point (there are two routes available), and the journey itself was incredible. The trail goes deep into the forest, and along the way we crossed 4 bridges — 3 wooden and 1 steel — which made the trek adventurous and fun. The trek is about 7 km one way, and the path is very well-marked with plenty of signboards guiding you toward the waterfall. What impressed me most was the management and the support of the villagers. The entry fee is just ₹200 per person, which is very affordable, and the locals ensure everything is well-managed. They are very helpful and even arranged ropes and stood nearby to make sure tourists are safe, especially near the waterfall where the water pressure is extremely high and dangerous. Their effort really makes the whole trek more secure and enjoyable. The waterfall itself is breathtaking — powerful, beautiful, and something I had never witnessed before in my life. Standing near it gives you a sense of awe and respect for nature’s force. Truly, it felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We returned with so many wonderful memories, and I would say this trek is a must-do for adventure and nature lovers. Everything from the forest trail to the villagers’ hospitality and the majestic waterfall at the end makes Devkund a must-visit destination. 🌿💦
Assan C — Google review
Devkund Waterfall is a beautiful hidden gem near Bhira, surrounded by lush greenery and a peaceful atmosphere. The trek to the waterfall around 2-3 hours is scenic but a bit challenging, especially in the rainy season, so good shoes are a must. The water is crystal clear and very refreshing, perfect for nature lovers and photography. Reaching the base requires private transport, and parking plus entry fees are charged. Food options are limited, so carrying snacks/water is helpful. Can get crowded on weekends-best to visit early morning for a quieter experience. Overall a must-visit for adventure seekers and anyone who loves natural beauty.

We went on Aug 2nd 2025. It’s nice place to visit in monsoon . The rain wasn’t too heavy, just manageable. It was the perfect time—we got to enjoy sunlight, rain, and even fog during the trek! 😊" Waterfall entry fee:200rs i think it’s too much to charge pp. Parking fee:30rs Trek distance: 6-7km one way total 12-14km Trek level : moderate Devkund waterfall trek tips: arrive early, wear good trekking shoes, and bring a raincoat, extra socks (for river crossings), water, snacks, and a cap/jacket for protection. Charlotte Lake, also known as Sharlott Lake, is a serene reservoir located 2 kilometers from Matheran Railway Station in Maharashtra. It is a popular tourist destination and a must-visit spot in the best hill station of Maharashtra. The lake is at its fullest during the monsoon season, offering a picturesque view with its small dam and waterfalls. Surrounded by lush green forests, it provides an ideal setting for nature enthusiasts, peace seekers, and bird watchers.
This is probably the best place to spend time with the company of calmness in Matheran. To reach Charlotte Lake, it would require a little trekking following the trail in the wild. The lake is beautiful, totally worth the little trek to reach there. It feels peaceful to sit by the lake especially when you've got good company along with you. It's definitely a must visit place in Matheran.

Charlotte Lake & Lord’s View Point are next to each other. It’s known for the pretty sunsets, there are small stores close by that sell snacks and tea. It’s a small hike for 15min from the main path. It is super safe both at day and night to walk through the forest. I would recommend this place if you’re at Matheran for visit.

It's a must-visit if you're heading to this beautiful hill station. This serene spot lets you sit quietly by the lake, absorb the tranquility, and truly feel connected to nature. To reach the lake, you'll need to trek a bit through the forest — a refreshing and adventurous experience. While horse rides are also available, the walk through the woods is something you shouldn’t miss. ⚠️ A word of caution: During the monsoon, the path can get slippery, and accidents have happened in the past — so please be careful if you’re visiting during the rains.

Louisa Point, located 2 kilometers from Matheran's main market, is a popular lookout spot offering panoramic views of the Sahyadri range, Arabian Sea, waterfalls, valleys, and nearby villages. It is a favorite among hikers and photographers due to its majestic vistas of ancient forts like Prabal Fort and Vishalgad.
We visited Matheran in weekend and it was as expected crowded than weekdays. Everything is expensive over there starting from food to horse rides to handicrafts. You will get no network so carry cash with yourself. Try to walk and visit all the points rather than waiting for a horse ride. It's a wholesome experience. You will experience serenity, peace to the fullest. Loved it. A proper one day trip.

Louisa Point, situated in the serene hill station of Matheran, Maharashtra, India, is a popular vantage point offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and majestic mountains of the Western Ghats. Perched at an elevation of approximately 800 meters, it provides a tranquil escape and a feast for the eyes. Named after Lady Louisa, the wife of Lord Elphinstone, this point is a must-visit for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts. On a clear day, one can witness the distant forts of Prabal and Vishalgad, and even catch a glimpse of the Mumbai skyline. The lush greenery, especially vibrant during the monsoon season, adds to the charm of the vista. Reaching Louisa Point involves a pleasant walk of about 1.5 kilometers from the main Matheran market, or a scenic horse ride. The journey through the dense forests is an experience in itself. The tranquility and the stunning views make Louisa Point a truly unforgettable spot in Matheran.

Louisa Point is almost 1.5 km away from the marketplace and will take around 20 minutes to reach here on foot. If it's a clear sunny day, this place will offer you breathtaking views that will compel you to settle down here for a moment. This is a unique point in Matheran as it offers two different picturesque views. From one point, you can see the sky touching the mountains and a civilisation located far in a valley. If you visit during monsoon, you'll also be captivated by waterfalls. Another view is of Lake Charlotte that looks like a diamond necklace when seen from here. Louisa Point also offers a clear view of Prabal Fort. All these different views are intriguing and one can spend hours gazing at them. We sat there, soaked in the beauty of the place and relishing moments of silence. This place is known as a photographer's paradise in Matheran because it offers panoramic views of mountains, peaks, valleys, lake and waterfalls. In most of the travel portals, blogs and magazines, Matheran has been represented by using Louisa Point's pictures. During the peak season, photo points are a little crowded and sometimes you need to be patient for your view to be ‘people free’, but all your waiting time is worth those beautiful, dreamy and wallpaper pictures. Some people also stay at Louisa Point to watch the sunset.

Very beautiful view point in Matheran. Huge open space for you to sit, relax, spend some time with yourself or family/ friends, absorb the atmosphere (take tons of pictures if you wish to!). On one side you have the beautiful landscape of hills and plateau and on the other side you have a beautiful waterfall! There’s a long fence on the right, however there is a point where the fence is broken and one can just hop over and walk to the edge of the ledge for an adrenaline rush (although not advisable)!

Louisa Point in Matheran is one of the most serene and picturesque viewpoints I’ve ever visited. Known for its panoramic views of the surrounding hills, valleys, and distant plains, it offers a truly refreshing experience for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts alike. The walk to reach Louisa Point is scenic, with red soil paths, lush greenery, and the occasional sight of local wildlife adding charm to the journey. Once you arrive, the view is absolutely worth it — you can see miles of rolling hills, dense forests, and sometimes even mist floating across the valleys, especially during the monsoon season. What makes Louisa Point special is the calm and peaceful atmosphere. Unlike some of the more crowded points in Matheran, here you can take your time, sit back, and enjoy the beauty of nature without feeling rushed. It’s perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, or for anyone who simply wants to capture some incredible landscape photographs. The cool breeze, the rustling of leaves, and the quiet surroundings make it a rejuvenating experience. A small tip for visitors: carry water, wear comfortable shoes, and try visiting early in the morning or late afternoon for the best views and lighting for photography. Overall, Louisa Point is a hidden gem of Matheran and a must-visit spot for anyone exploring this beautiful hill station.

Louisa Point offers the most stunning views in Matheran! The walk to reach here is a bit of an effort, but absolutely worth it. The scenic beauty, cool breeze, and panoramic views make it a must-visit spot. Don’t miss it if you’re in Matheran!

Theme park
Water & Amusement Parks
Large amusement park with rides, water slides, restaurants & an indoor park with artificial snow.
Truly one of the best theme parks in India till date. I visited during the off-season, so there was hardly any crowd—which was a big plus! I got to enjoy some of the top rides like Nitro, Gold Rush, and Deep Space not just once, but two to three times without long waiting lines. These rides are a must-try if you love thrill and adventure. The morning parade brings the park to life with characters and music, and the evening light and water show is a perfect way to end the day—really well done and full of energy. The quality of food inside the park restaurants is also surprisingly good, with decent options for both kids and adults. Overall, it's a complete day of fun, adventure, and entertainment.

Imagica is located at khopoli (approx 2 hours drive from Pune). It has a Theme park and a water park . One day is sufficient to do either of the two. In case one plans to do both; 2 full days are required. The rides are amazing and fun with family/ friends. Tickets can be booked online / offline. There are eateries inside the park. Amada serving amazing pizzas. Red bonnet serving fab burgers. Thali, buffet and jain food is also available. Locker facility available inside the park for your belongings. For water park dry fit attire is necessary. One can change once they r done with the rides. After 6 pm when the rides are closed there is a carnival in the premises. Also the park looks beautiful after sunset because of the lighting and fountains.

Imagica truly feels magical the moment you enter. Kids and adults enjoy rides equally Water flume ride = guaranteed fun & getting soaked Classic carousel = perfect for kids Indoor shooting ride = friendly competition Evening lighting = breathtaking The lake area becomes a photo-perfect spot after sunset The park is beautifully maintained, vibrant, and designed for family fun. --- ⚠️ Important Note: Crowd & Waiting Time Because we went during the Diwali peak break, the park was fully packed. Popular rides had 60–120 minute waiting Long queues even at food counters Only limited rides could be covered in one day Conclusion: Holiday seasons, long weekends, and school breaks = heavy crowd. --- 🎟️ Most Important Tip: Book EXPRESS Tickets If you’re going during a busy period (Diwali, New Year, summer vacation, long weekends), Express Tickets are strongly recommended. Yes, they cost extra — but they: ✔️ Reduce waiting time by 70–80% ✔️ Let you enjoy more rides ✔️ Save energy (especially with kids) ✔️ Make the trip stress-free Honestly, during festive seasons, Express Pass is the smartest and most valuable choice. --- 🕒 Best Time to Visit Imagica ✔️ Best Days (Less Crowd) Weekdays Non-holiday periods April-end to early June (exam season) 2–3 days after festivals ✔️ Best Time to Reach Park opens at 10:00 AM Recommended arrival: 9:15–9:30 AM (for parking & security) ✔️ Start Your Day With These Rides (shorter lines in morning) Nitro Deep Space Rajasaurus Scream Machine ✔️ Evening Parade & lighting show around 6 PM Lake area is perfect for photos --- 🧭 Planning Tips Before You Go ✔️ Book tickets online 2–3 days earlier ✔️ Carry water bottles, cap, and power bank ✔️ For kids, a stroller is helpful ✔️ Carry a rain poncho in monsoon season ✔️ Outside food is not allowed, but food combos are available inside --- 🏁 Final Verdict — Should You Visit? Absolutely YES! Imagica is one of the best family theme parks in India with amazing rides, beautiful ambiance, and great entertainment. But remember: ✔️ Holiday Season = Heavy crowd ✔️ Express Ticket = Best investment ✔️ Weekdays = Best overall experience Plan smart, go early, and your Imagica trip will turn into an unforgettable memory for your family!

A Magical Day at Imagica, With a Word of Advice! Our family visited Adlabs Imagica on October 21st, and what a day it was! From the moment we walked in, the park felt vibrant. The kids (and adults!) loved the rides. We had a blast getting soaked on the water flume, taking a spin on the classic carousel, and getting competitive on the indoor shooting ride. As evening fell, the park completely transformed with beautiful lights, making the whole place feel truly magical, especially the area around the lake. However, we need to share a very important tip. Our visit coincided with the peak Diwali festival break, and we weren't the only ones with the idea! The park was packed with families, which created a fantastic, festive atmosphere but also meant one thing: a huge rush. This led to a massive number of people in the queues and, as you'd expect, very long waiting times for all the popular rides. We still managed to have a great time and make wonderful memories (the pictures prove it!), but the waiting definitely took up a big part of our day. So, here is our number one piece of advice for anyone planning to visit Imagica during a busy period like Diwali, a long weekend, or any school holiday: It is highly advised to book the Express tickets. It might cost extra, but it will save you hours of standing in line and let you enjoy far more of the amazing attractions the park has to offer. Overall, a fantastic park for family fun, but plan smart during the holidays!

Aqua Imagica is the perfect mix of thrill and fun! The high-speed slides, wave pool, and lazy river make the whole day exciting. The park is clean, well-organized, and the staff is very helpful. Food options are good and there are plenty of places to relax in between rides. A great place to enjoy with friends and family definitely worth the trip!

Imagica is a really good place to visit with friends and family. Wide variety of rides. Loved deep space ride, it's dark like space with starry ceiling and the speed of 200km/hour the twist and turns will surely challenge your brain equilibrium. Loved it the most. Then nitro roller coaster 160km/hour was amazing too. Gold rush with the speed of 80km/hour is at 3rd rank for me after Deep space and nitro. I for india, Mr india, salimghadh/ banghadh, were good too. Dead drop was a slight disappointing. Chota Bheem ride for kids, sloch monster were good for kids. Dancer / performer's were good treat. The water fountain show at the end of the day was soothing.

Metro Junction Mall

Shopping
Metro Junction Mall in Kalyan has undergone significant improvements over the years, transforming into a lively shopping center with a vibrant outdoor plaza, a popular movie theater, and an array of dining options in its food court. The mall now boasts numerous branded and fashion clothing stores at reasonable prices, making it an ideal destination for shoppers. Its clean and well-maintained facilities create a pleasant atmosphere for visitors to enjoy their time spent with family and children.
Decent spot in Kalyan for entertainment. The mall is in good condition due to recent renovations and upgrades. Though, it is largely crowded during weekends, you would be lucky to get a seat in the food court. Many shops are present for fashion shopping with different deals and discounts all year. Foreign brands like Starbucks have recently opened as well, if one wants to visit. Overall a well maintained facility with higher degrees of cleanliness but can be improved.
Rohan S — Google review
The mall is big and has a great variety of brands, making it a nice place to visit and have fun. However, cleanliness is a major issue—cockroaches can be seen everywhere, even in the food court. There are no proper dustbins for waste disposal, and the washrooms are extremely dirty. No hand wash was provided, the flush wasn’t working, and the smell was unbearable. While the shopping experience is good, the management seriously needs to improve hygiene and maintenance.
Snehal K — Google review
A great place for shopping and leisure. The mall has a good mix of brands, a decent food court, and a multiplex for movies. It’s spacious and usually well-maintained. Gets a bit crowded on weekends, but overall a solid spot to hang out with family or friends.

Great place to hang out with friends as well as family, you can watch a movie or have fun in the zingeria play various games and have fun. The food in the mall is great as well you'll find many brands which you may love. you can shop various types of clothes and jewellery but the highlight is the ice creams on the 2nd floor. kids will enjoy more happy returns

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Metro Junction Mall in Kalyan is one of the best malls in the area, offering a complete shopping and entertainment experience. It has a wide variety of stores like Westside, Pantaloons, Zudio, Yousta, Cotton Clutcher, Style Up, Trends, and many more – covering everything from trendy fashion to affordable daily wear and ethnic collections. Household shopping is easy with MR.DIY and Reliance Smart Bazaar, while the food court has great options like Haldiram’s and Shawarmaji for quick and tasty meals. The mall is spacious, with a good mix of budget-friendly and branded outlets, plus frequent discounts and offers across stores. While some shops could improve their inventory freshness, overall it’s a convenient place for shopping, dining, and spending time with family or friends.
Mahesh C — Google review
Metro junction mall in Kalyan is a popular retail chain that offers a great shopping experience for those looking to buy a variety of products at affordable prices. The store is spacious and well-organized, making it easy to navigate through different sections, including groceries, household items, apparel, and more. One of the best things about Metro juntion mall is its pricing. You can find a wide range of products, from daily essentials to special offers, at competitive prices. Whether it’s fresh produce, packaged goods, or cleaning supplies, Metro junction mall consistently provides good value for money, which is why it attracts a lot of shoppers. They often have discounts and bulk offers, making it a great place for budget-conscious buyers. The store is typically well-stocked, and I’ve always found the staff to be helpful when I need assistance. However, during peak hours, the store can get quite crowded, which might make shopping a bit less pleasant. The checkout lines can also get long, but this is to be expected at such a popular retail destination. Parking is available, but depending on the time of day, it might be a bit of a challenge to find a spot. Despite this, Metro juntion mall in Kalyan is a reliable option for quick, affordable shopping, and it’s one of my go-to places for daily essentials.
Manjit. G — Google review
Metro Junction Mall in Kalyan is one of the best places to spend time with friends and family. The mall is really big and shiny, with a lively atmosphere. It offers a wide variety of options — from food courts and restaurants to clothing stores and other shopping outlets, so there’s always something for everyone. The overall vibe is modern and enjoyable, making it a good spot not just for shopping, but also for hanging out. A little improvement in crowd management and maintenance would make it perfect, but overall, it’s a great place to visit.
S4NDESH D — Google review
Metro Junction Mall, Kalyan West is one of the biggest malls in the area and a popular hangout spot. It has a wide range of stores for shopping, a good selection of restaurants, and a multiplex for movies. The mall is spacious, well-maintained, and offers ample parking. D Y Patil Sports Stadium, designed by renowned architect Hafeez Contractor, is a top-notch venue that has hosted 3 IPL matches for the Mumbai Indians and the 2008 IPL Final. It's not just a cricket stadium; it also offers facilities like tennis courts, badminton courts, and an Olympic-sized swimming pool. The stadium hosts big international events and concerts in addition to sports games.
I watched the IND vs NZ Women’s match at DY Patil Stadium and it was my first ever live stadium experience. I must say, the stadium exceeded my expectations. The view of the ground from the seating area was excellent, and the arrangements were organized very well. The seats were comfortable and the stadium was very clean, including washrooms and common areas. The entry and exit process was smooth and hassle-free, without any crowd chaos. The overall vibe and crowd energy made the experience even better. Loved it and would definitely recommend attending a match here!

DY Patil Stadium is one of the best venues in India — spacious, and very well maintained. The view from almost every seat is great, and the sound system during matches or concerts is top-notch. The crowd energy here is unbeatable! A must-visit for cricket fans, and the vibe during live events is absolutely electric

I recently visited DY Patil Stadium to watch the India vs Australia Women’s semifinal, and it was an amazing experience! The atmosphere was electric, and the crowd’s energy made the match even more exciting. The stadium is well-maintained, seating arrangements are comfortable, and the view from almost every section is great. The facilities were clean, and the staff were quite helpful in guiding people to their seats. The only area that could improve is the food queue management during breaks, but overall, it was a memorable day watching top-quality cricket in such a fantastic venue.

The stadium is huge, well-maintained, and the view from every stand is fantastic. The crowd energy made the match even more special! The facilities were clean, security and entry were well managed, and the sound system was great. A perfect place to enjoy live sports, can’t wait to visit again for the next match!

Watching the India Women vs Australia Women semifinal at DY Patil Stadium was an electrifying experience, offering both high-level cricket and a pulsating stadium atmosphere. DY Patil’s amenities stood out for their cleanliness and accessibility. Restrooms were regularly maintained even during peak crowd times, and food stalls offered a range of snacks—from classic stadium fare like popcorn and samosas to more elaborate options like wraps and biryani. Quick service ensured minimal time away from the live action. Security was efficient, with smooth entry and exit processes.
Rushal K — Google review
It was a great experience watching the match at this stadium! The atmosphere and crowd energy were amazing. However, food and soft drinks are quite expensive inside. Also, they don’t allow bags, coins in pockets, or even flag sticks — not even cardboard or paper ones — so plan accordingly. If you get seats in F or G Block, there’s a good chance you’ll appear on live TV during the match!

The stadium is located in Nerul. Easily accessible by road as next to puna highway. Nearest to Sanpada or nerul station. Have nice seating areas 360 view and airy. Washrooms are available only at base. Had opportunity to watch many shows and matches..nearby by hotels and motels available. Check view in photos..d block and two levels are available for panaromic view. Keep following for more updates.

Lovely experience at stadium. But few improvements needed: 1) some arrangement of transport for senior people 2) on1y 1 washroom operational. Long queue during matches. 3) some shades to avoid rains especially on way to gates

Wonders Park is an attraction that boasts a variety of rides, an amphitheater and replicas of the seven wonders of the world. The entrance to the park is stunning and invites visitors to explore its well-manicured surroundings. In addition to the scaled-down versions of famous landmarks, there is also a creatively designed children's area and attractive fountains throughout the park. Wonders Park is a must-visit destination for families, groups of friends or couples looking for an enjoyable day out.
It's a great open space to spend an hour or two, especially in the evening. It's a great place to visit with kids and family. Wonders Park in Nerul, Navi Mumbai, is a decent spot for a weekend outing. The main highlight is the Seven Wonders replicas, which are well-crafted and make for great photo opportunities. The park itself is spacious, with a mix of greenery and attractions like a toy train, an amphitheater, and many rides. The excellent water show is must watch for anyone visiting this park. Entry is affordable, but there is additional charges for rides and activities. The food court had many dishes but lacked hygiene and had to wait in long queue's.

Wonders Park in Nerul, Navi Mumbai, is a delightful family-friendly destination, perfect for a refreshing escape from the city's hustle. I visited in the morning, and the serene atmosphere with fewer crowds made it a calm and relaxing experience. However, note that the slides and rides are not operational in the morning; they open in the evening, making it the ideal time to enjoy these attractions. The entry fee is an affordable ₹50 per person, though additional charges apply for each ride. The park's main highlight is the well-crafted replicas of the Seven Wonders, offering excellent photo opportunities. Spacious and lush with greenery, the park also features attractions like a toy train, an amphitheater, and numerous rides.
Tan — Google review
I recently visited Wonder Park in Navi Mumbai and would say it is an average place overall. The park has some greenery and a few attractions mainly for children, like swings and a small toy train. However, apart from these, there isn’t much that makes it stand out. When I visited, most of the rides were closed due to rain, which was a bit disappointing and made the visit less enjoyable. This park can be considered for a one-time visit, especially if you are going with kids just for their time-pass. Children may enjoy the small rides and open space. But if you are looking for mental peace, relaxation, or a unique experience, you may not find it here. The overall maintenance and attractions could definitely be improved to make the park more appealing.
Imteyaz A — Google review
We visited this park in October end for the first time and instantly loved it. It is perfect for kids with different amusement rides and a toy train ride. Only 1 ride has an age limit of 16 years upwards, the toy train is open to all ages and the others are between 4 and 16 only. The park also has a Fountain Light show in the late evening, which you can enjoy from an amphitheater. The area is huge and there is enough for kids to enjoy. The park has miniatures of the Wonders of the World spread across the park.
Gaurav S — Google review
Visited Wonders Park last weekend with my family and overall, it was a fun and relaxing outing! The highlight is definitely the replicas of the Seven Wonders of the World—really well-made and great for photos. The park is huge, green, and surprisingly well maintained for the ticket price. toy train ride gives a nice tour of the park. There are other rides too like bumper cars and a small Ferris wheel—good for kids but not high-thrill. There’s a jogging track, big chess board, and plenty of space to walk around or just sit and enjoy. The evening musical fountain show was a nice bonus! Simple but charming. One small downside: it gets crowded after 5 PM and the food stalls were a bit slow. So I'd recommend visiting in the early evening on a weekday if you want a peaceful time. Great for: families, kids, couples, morning walks Could improve: staff availability at food stalls and ride queues on weekends
Hemendra P — Google review
A very calm and peaceful place to sit, unwind, and relax. The surroundings are clean, well-maintained, and perfect for a slow evening. Really enjoyed the fountain show—it added a lovely touch to the whole experience. A simple, refreshing escape in the city.

Wonders Park is a fantastic destination for both families, Kids and couples to enjoy a fun-filled day. The entry fee is just ₹50 per person, making it an affordable outing. But each ride has a separate charges applied. Don’t miss the night show — it’s a must-see experience that adds magic to your visit!
Khan A — Google review
Entry fee Rs. 50 for adults and Rs. 40 for children. Not even single ride is functional. No online payment facility. You have to pay in cash. Need to give exact change. Counter person is behaving like visitors are his subjects and he is the king. Save your time and money at least now. (Already you have been looted in the name of this, remember that this park is made out of your tax money)

Went to this place during a weekend summer & there was cool breeze blowing and did not feel the heat at all... Plus no traffic on the road besides the lake. Open place with ample sitting spots and also mini-eatery stalls available. Water Fountain shows lasted for approx. 20 minutes and I guess are in frequency of 7 PM, 8 PM or so.

Upvan Lake is the peaceful heart of Thane, offering a fantastic escape from city chaos. Nestled against the backdrop of the lush Yeoor Hills, it's a picturesque spot perfect for morning jogs or relaxing evening strolls. Don't rush home! Stick around after sunset for the brilliant light and water show, which usually starts around 8 PM. Boating is a fun option. Grab a snack from the local stalls and enjoy the tranquil vibe. Highly recommended for a family

It's quite a good area to walk around, see the musical fountain, and have some evening snacks or tea. There's a decent walkway along the lake's perimeter. It's quite clean also. There are book stalls and one can definitely think of sitting and reading peacefully in any of the benches around. Would recommend going around the sunset time and then staying until the dark if you're interested in the fountain.

Sanjay Gandhi National Park, formerly known as Borivali National Park, is a sprawling forested park located in Mumbai. It is one of the largest and most popular nature reserves in India. The park is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including tigers and leopards. Visitors can explore the ancient Kanheri Caves within the park, which are Buddhist cave temples dating back to the first century BC.
Sanjay Gandhi National Park Visit We started 2025 with a trip to Sanjay Gandhi National Park on 1st January. The park opens at 8 AM, and although the ticket queue was long, it was worth the wait. Entry tickets were ₹110 per person, with car parking charged at ₹50 per hour. We walked about 7 km, taking in the serene beauty of this lush green haven in the heart of Mumbai. The experience was delightful, with scenic mountains, dense trees, playful monkeys, and deer adding to the charm. The butterfly garden was another highlight, with pretty butterflies fluttering all around. The tiger safari, bus fair at ₹136 per person, was an incredible adventure where we spotted tigers, cubs, and a lioness. Unfortunately, we missed the toy train ride as the lanes are currently under redevelopment, but we’ll be back to try it on our next visit. With so much left to explore, it’s clear the park can’t be fully covered in a single day. We’re already planning a revisit to experience more of this incredible destination. Sanjay Gandhi National Park is a perfect weekend escape, offering a blend of nature and adventure. A must-visit for anyone looking to unwind and reconnect with the outdoors!

Sanjay Gandhi National Park is honestly one of my favorite places to take a break from Mumbai’s chaos. The moment you enter, it feels like you’ve stepped into another world — peaceful, green, and full of life. It’s hard to believe something this calm exists within the city. I visited early in the morning, and the air was fresh and cool. Walking through the forest trails with birds chirping all around was such a refreshing experience. I also rented a cycle and explored the park a bit deeper — totally worth it if you enjoy riding through nature. One of the highlights for me was the Kanheri Caves. Climbing up to the caves, with all the ancient carvings and the view of the forest from the top, felt like stepping into history. It’s both peaceful and awe-inspiring. What I love most about the park is how it balances natural beauty with easy access. Whether you're into trekking, cycling, photography, or just sitting quietly among trees, this place has something for everyone. I left feeling lighter, calmer, and a little more connected to nature. Highly recommend spending a few hours here — especially if you live in Mumbai and just need to breathe.

It's nice but NOT a must place. There is a round trip trail which will be totaled around 14km. The highlight will be the caves. I have rented a bicycle at the entrance of the park- and I really recommend the bicycle option. I think the park opens around 8 and also the bicycle rental opens at 8am. You will need to deposit about 300rupi and leave an ID. Then the fee will be 80rupi for 2h. The road is mostly flat. You will need to park the bicycle and to walk about 1km to get to the cave site. There are many toilets around and small stands that sell drinks and fruits. What to bring: A lot of water Money ID (for bicycle) Cap and sports clothing (be ready to sweat) Cost The day I came it was a public holiday so entry was free. Bicycle 80rupi/2h Entrance to cave 300rupi (for foreigners)

siddhi vinayak mandir Shree Siddhivinayak Temple, located in Prabhadevi, Mumbai, is one of the most revered temples dedicated to Lord Ganesha in India. Originally built in 1801 by Laxman Vithu and Deubai Patil, it is famed for granting wishes and draws thousands of devotees daily[1][2]. The temple features a striking six-story, multi-angular design with a central gold-plated dome that rises prominently above the structure, surrounded by 37 smaller gilded domes[1]. Constructed with marble and pink granite, its interiors include intricately carved wooden doors displaying the eight Ashtavinayak forms of Ganesha[5]. The main sanctum is gold-plated, enhancing its divine grandeur[5]. The idol of Lord Ganesha is carved from a single block of black stone, depicted with four arms (chaturbhuj), accompanied by his consorts Siddhi and Riddhi, and a third eye etched on the forehead, reflecting a unique attribute also associated with Lord Shiva[1][2]. Shree Siddhivinayak Temple stands as a spiritual and architectural landmark in Mumbai, celebrated for its rich history, religious significance, and majestic presence during major festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi[3][4][5].

Ganapati Bappa Morya! Visiting Mumbaicha Raja’s Siddi Vinayak divine temple is nothing short of a spiritual retreat. The constant chant of “Ganapati Bappa Morya” fills the air, instantly soaking you in devotion. The temple is well-organized with separate paid Sevas for those seeking a deeper experience. The highlight for me was the ₹20 laddu prasad (2 pieces) – fresh, soft, and simply delicious, I’d rate it a solid ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5). The temple management has also thoughtfully provided ample chappal stands both outside and after the metal detector gate, making it very convenient. The visit leaves you feeling blessed. .

This October 21st, I chose to begin my birthday not with cake or candles, but with prayers and peace - at the sacred Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai. As the first rays of sunlight kissed the city, I stood before Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, with folded hands and a heart full of gratitude. There’s something profoundly grounding about being in the presence of centuries-old faith. The chants, the fragrance of incense, the rhythmic ringing of bells - everything felt like a divine symphony orchestrated just for the soul. I offered my prayers not just for myself, but for everyone who’s been a part of my journey - family, friends, mentors, and even those silent supporters who’ve cheered me on from afar. This visit wasn’t just a ritual; it was a moment of reflection. I looked back at the year gone by - the highs, the lows, the lessons, and the growth. And I felt nothing but thankfulness. Life has its own way of teaching us, and I’m learning to embrace it all with grace. As I stood in the temple courtyard, watching the crowd move with devotion and hope, I realized how blessed I am to witness another year, another sunrise, another chance to become a better version of myself. The energy of Siddhivinayak is magnetic - it doesn’t just bless you, it uplifts you. I left the temple with a tilak on my forehead, prasad in my hand, and a renewed spirit in my heart. This birthday felt different - not loud, not lavish, but deeply meaningful. And that’s exactly what I needed. To everyone who sent their wishes, thank you for making me feel loved. To Lord Ganesha, thank you for guiding me. And to life - thank you for the journey so far and the road ahead. Here’s to new beginnings, divine blessings, and a heart that stays grateful. 🌺🪔

Recently, I had the chance to drive over the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, and it was truly a mesmerizing experience. The best time to visit is around 7:00 to 7:30 PM, just when the sun is setting and the sky turns into shades of orange and pink. The view of the Arabian Sea with the glowing sunset in the background looks absolutely magical. As the bridge curves gently over the water, the cool breeze and peaceful vibe make the drive unforgettable. It’s clean, well-maintained, and gives a different kind of calmness even in the heart of a busy city like Mumbai. As the sun sets and night begins, the entire Sea Link lights up, offering a completely different vibe. The beautifully lit cables and smooth road beneath the dark sky create a perfect blend of modern architecture and nature. Though bikes aren’t allowed, the car drive itself is enough to enjoy the charm of this place. If you are planning to visit Mumbai or drive around the city, the Bandra-Worli Sea Link is something you should know about. It is an 8-lane bridge built over the sea, connecting Bandra to Worli. This means you don’t have to take the long and crowded route through Mahim and Dadar. Is it worth it? Yes. It saves a lot of time, especially during peak hours. What used to take 40–60 minutes can now take just 10–15 minutes. Who can use it? Only four-wheelers like cars and taxis. Two-wheelers, autos, and pedestrians are not allowed. It is safe, smooth, and has fewer chances of traffic jams. How much is the toll? It’s around ₹100 for a one-way trip. A return ticket or monthly pass is also available. The toll booth is fast with digital payment options too. How is the view? Very beautiful. You drive above the sea, and during sunset or at night, it looks amazing. But you cannot stop on the bridge to click photos. Any traffic issues? Usually not, but sometimes it slows down due to VIP movement or accidents. Early morning or late evening is the best time for a peaceful drive. Cleanliness and road condition? Very clean, modern, and well-maintained. Road quality is excellent. Anything to be careful about? Maintain your speed, don’t stop, and follow the lane discipline. There are cameras and police on duty. Should you go? Definitely. Even if you’re a tourist, take a cab and ask to drive through it at least once. It's not just a bridge – it’s a modern symbol of Mumbai’s growth.

One beautiful masterpiece of modern architecture! The Bandra-Worli Sea Link is more than just a bridge—it’s a breathtaking blend of engineering brilliance and coastal beauty. Stretching gracefully over the Arabian Sea, it connects Bandra and Worli in minutes, saving commuters hours while offering views that could rival any postcard. Driving across feels almost cinematic, with the sparkling waters on either side and the iconic Mumbai skyline unfolding in the distance. Whether by day, when the sun bathes the structure in golden light, or by night, when its cables glow like strings of pearls, the Sea Link never fails to impress. The ride is smooth, the architecture is world-class, and the sense of freedom you feel mid-bridge is unmatched. For the best experience, drive through during early mornings or late evenings when traffic is light—you’ll be able to fully savour the panoramic views and ocean breeze. The toll is a small price to pay for such a unique experience. The Bandra-Worli Sea Link isn’t just an infrastructure marvel; it’s a symbol of Mumbai’s ambition, connecting not only two ends of the city but also tradition and modernity. A must-visit for anyone who wants to see Mumbai at its most majestic.

Growing up in Bombay- I frequented this place and it's got a special place in my heart- not to mention we share a birthday. This is an iconic structure that has not changed. Now visiting it as a tourist from overseas, it still captires the charm and innocence as I see families, children and young couples take selfies, chaiwallahs selling hot sweet tea and instant photographers offering the ultimate background of the Taj hotel or the gateway. Do partake of the boat ride- the diesel run bimoy ride will take out out a kilometre and back a hundred years. And the pigeons- every Victorian building attracts pigeons. Best tiem to visit is at sunrise when the city is still asleep.

As a first-time visitor to Mumbai, seeing the Gateway of India was truly one of the highlights of my trip. The moment I arrived, I was awestruck by the grandeur of this iconic monument. The structure itself, with its impressive Indo-Saracenic architecture, stands tall and majestic, overlooking the Arabian Sea. It feels like stepping into a piece of history — you can almost imagine the days when important dignitaries arrived here during the British era. What truly made the experience special was the breathtaking view. Facing the open sea, with the cool breeze on your face and the sound of the waves in the background, the entire scene feels both peaceful and inspiring. The area is lively yet not overwhelming — people are enjoying the view, clicking photos, or simply soaking in the atmosphere. Right across from the Gateway stands the famous Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, which adds to the charm of the place. The view of this grand hotel alongside the Gateway is picture-perfect, especially as the sun starts to set and the lights slowly illuminate the surroundings. Everything about my visit felt just right — the clean promenade, the vibrant energy of visitors, and the rich history all around. It’s a spot where you can pause, reflect, and truly appreciate the beauty and spirit of Mumbai. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city for the first time.

Murud-Janjira Fort

Mentioned on

Fortress
Sights & Landmarks
Murud-Janjira Fort is a stunning marine fortress dating back to the 15th century, boasting old canons and 19 bastions. Situated on an island 500m offshore, it is the most magnificent of the forts along the Konkan coastline. Built by the Siddis in 1571, descendants of slaves from Africa, this imposing citadel served as the capital of a princely state. Visitors are drawn to its magnificent architecture and rich history of battles fought here.
Great fort in middle of sea Need to go via boat during high tide , some say we can walk over if there is lil water Great and two of the biggest old canons can be seen here and multiple small canons There is lake inside and can get a great view from all the sides. Ferry tickets can be bought from the office on the shore.
Shubh — Google review
it's ancient structure, the top of the fort has good view and very wind breezy cool air. Apart from that it's mostly broken structures inside. It's long wait on weekends where you have to wait in boat for half an hour at least.
Sumit R — Google review
Murud Janjira Fort is a fascinating and historic place located in the middle of the sea near Murud Beach. The boat ride to reach the fort is quite an experience, offering beautiful views of the ocean and the fort as you get closer. The fort itself is very impressive, built with strong stone walls that have stood firm for centuries despite the constant waves and weather. Inside, you can explore old cannons, gates, and ruins that tell stories of its rich Maratha and Siddi history. The place gives a real sense of how powerful the fort must have been in its time. It’s best to visit in the morning or evening to avoid the heat and crowds. The boat staff are helpful, but safety instructions could be better organized. Overall, it’s a must-visit destination for anyone interested in history, architecture, or just a scenic sea experience. The combination of natural beauty and historical importance makes Murud Janjira one of the most unique forts in Maharashtra
Shekhar V — Google review
Janjira Fort is one of the strongest marine forts in India, famous for being unconquered despite several attacks by the Portuguese, British, and Marathas. Built over 350 years ago by the Siddis, this fort stands majestically in the middle of the sea, about 2 km from the Murud coast.
Nitin S — Google review
Must visit Fort in Maharashtra. The boat will drop you at the entrance. The boats have a schedule where they pick you up after 45 minutes. So you get to see the important points quickly before returning. We didn't get food and water from the fort. We can see two fresh water lakes in the middle of the salty sea.
ANISHA S — Google review
Very nice way to spend half a day, immersed in the history of the fort. The boatmen extort money, but if you can overlook that, then it's worth the info the give.
Ravi V — Google review
Visiting Janjira Fort is like stepping back into history. The fort stands strong in the middle of the Arabian Sea, and the boat ride to reach it is an adventure in itself. As you walk through its massive gates and explore the ruins, you can still feel the grandeur and strength of this once “unconquered fort.” The huge cannons, freshwater ponds inside the fort, and the endless sea views make the experience unforgettable. It’s amazing to think how such a powerful structure was built right in the sea centuries ago. The place can get hot during the day, so carrying water and wearing comfortable shoes is a must. Overall, Janjira is not just a fort it’s a living story of resilience, history, and the beauty of the Konkan coast.
Shivkumar K — Google review
An incredible slice of Indian history still remaining in an iconic condition well worth a visit by boat , for about an hour onshore. The skill and craftsmanship are classically inspiring . Get someone to guide your visit or at least find out more about the long history of this Island fortress , there was an original tunnel connection under the seabed back to the mainland as a last ditch escape route for the people . Ferry tickets and fort visitation are separate tickets but well worth it for such a rare piece of history . Sailing over and back by boat was very chilled out 😎

Serene and Clean Beach for a Peaceful Sunset If you’re in Alibaug and looking for a clean, less crowded beach to enjoy a peaceful sunset with the waves, Kihim Beach is a great choice. The beach is relatively less populated compared to other popular spots, making it perfect for a relaxing getaway. The only drawback is that you need to walk a bit to find a truly quiet spot, which is why I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5. But once you do, the experience is totally worth it. The sunset views are stunning, and the overall vibe is calm and refreshing. Highly recommended for those who prefer a serene beach experience over crowded touristy spots!

⚠️ Disappointing Experience at Alibag Beach Our visit to Alibag Beach was quite disappointing. The place was extremely crowded, with food stalls, rides, and people everywhere — it felt chaotic, and there was barely any space to relax or enjoy the beach. The parking situation was terrible, and there seemed to be no proper crowd management or supervision by the authorities. Even though the area has been recently renovated, the beach was littered with food waste and not maintained well. Overall, it’s not a place I would recommend if you’re looking for a peaceful or clean beach experience. There are much better, quieter beaches nearby like Nandgaon or Kashid that offer a more relaxing atmosphere. 🌊🚫

Beautiful beach, lots of water activities. We tried the speed boat and enjoyed it! It was quite crowded when we visited. We also went at night and loved the cold breeze. You can walk to Kolaba Fort during low tide (7 am to 1 pm), but we missed it.
