The temple enforces a traditional dress code: men must wear a dhoti (lungi) without a shirt, and women must wear a sari or dhoti. While I respect the ritual, it would be better if the required attire were provided free of charge instead of adding extra costs.paying  ₹500, which feels high considering the temple’s immense wealth (reportedly worth billions). Despite this, there’s no free food for visitors. Prasad is only offered to those who purchase a receipt, and there are separate lines for them—this creates a sense of commercialization. Overall Experience The temple’s architecture and spiritual significance are extraordinary, but the management practices feel overly commercial and lack inclusivity. Best time for darshan is early morning. It's better not to carry too much. Bags, mobile phones are not allowed. Locker facility is available at the entrance (fee is charged). There is dress code for men and women. Men should wear dhotis and for womens saree or lehenga. Kurti is also not allowed but you can wear dhoti over it as a skirt. At entrance dhoti is available. You can buy it from there. The queue was really long. But you can enjoy the temple architecture during the queue. The queue management was good. Drinking water facility was there.

It has a good variety of animals including tigers, lions, elephants, reptiles, and birds. The surroundings are shaded and peaceful, making it pleasant for families and children. Entry is affordable, and electric carts are available for visitors. However, some enclosures are small, a few animals seem inactive, and the food stalls or cart services can be slow on crowded days. The zoo can get very busy on weekends and holidays, and animals are less active in the afternoon heat. Overall: A clean, scenic, and affordable place worth visiting—best enjoyed in the morning or evening when it’s cooler and less crowded.

Went on a weekday. No so much crowded, but yes it's a tourist place so there'll be crowd especially on Sundays. The ticket price google mentioned (200/-) is dfor foreigners and the ticket price for Indians is only 40(for adults). I only support zoo when they can provide better facilities for animals that they can't get them on forest. But I'm not sure about here, because most of the animals are always lay down like they don't have enough health, especially the lion,tiger & cheetah(pythons too). It seems they can barely walk. On the other hand the bear,deer, and hippos seems pretty healthy. So I'm not sure, maybe it's the time I went there. The main problem is you can't clearly see most of the birds, I'm not sure till why they don't use glasses for clear visibility rather than the small grill, that you can barely see them. The white tiger was a suprise and he/she/they/them whatever was actually stunning. Most of the cages were empty (I'm actually glad for that). A 20 min walk through a"made up jungle" is actually good. The staffs always clean the place but be careful of the tree branch. The snakes non of them are even moving, I'm not sure if they alive or not for some reason. Anyway yeah as I mentioned earlier if you can provide better facilities for animals yes it's a good initiative. Unless it's cruelty.

The zoo was decent but had a limited variety of animals. The deer and porcupine enclosures were quite crowded, making it hard to get a good view. Some of the reptiles were not present. The layout could be better managed for visitor flow. Kids still enjoyed spotting the few animals around. Overall, an average experience that could improve with better space and crowd management. The entry fee for family is ₹100.

Small Fort. No entry fee. There is no much inside, just a grassland to walk around, hardly 10 mins to complete it. Because of the illegal construction behind the fort, the great view of the ocean from the fort is lost. No parking and have to use street parking and streets are very narrow. Light house near the fort has a great view. When I visited it was Zero crowd.

The fort isn’t very big and there isn’t much to explore inside. However, the place is clean and well maintained, making it a pleasant short visit. Good for a quick stop if you’re nearby, but not worth a long detour.

The entry is completely free, which makes it an excellent stop for budget travelers. The fort is impressively well-maintained, with clean premises and well-preserved structures that offer a fascinating glimpse into its colonial past. The serene seaside location adds a tranquil vibe, with beautiful views that make it a great spot for history enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. The only drawback is the parking situation. The lack of a dedicated parking area means you have to park along the narrow road, which can be challenging and sometimes leads to traffic congestion. Adding a small parking space would make visits much smoother. Despite this, the fort is well worth a visit for its historical charm and scenic beauty. Highly recommend if you’re in the Anchuthengu area!

It's a place of historic importance where the first revolt against the British began from Kerala. It also houses a few tombstones. The name "Anjuthengu", a Malayalam British word, literally means "five coconut trees". Entry is free. It is maintained by the Kerala government. There's no parking in front of the entry gate.

The real treat, though, is the view from the ramparts! A quick climb up the stairs rewards you with a fantastic, breezy ocean view. Entry to the fort is free. Just be aware that there is no dedicated parking space, vehicles have to be parked along the roadsides. For the absolute best scenery, head over to the nearby lighthouse .From there, you get a stunning panoramic vista: the vast ocean on one side and a serene lake on the other. It’s the perfect spot to capture some incredible photos!

My visit was average; I hoped to climb the lighthouse for panoramic views, but unfortunately, it was closed. As a traveller, I found it to be a quiet, scenic spot—ideal for those who prefer slow, reflective moments over crowded tourist attractions. The dam is surrounded by forested hills and a vast reservoir that glows beautifully in the evening light. A walk through the nearby park or simply sitting by the water feels calming. The boat ride across the reservoir adds a touch of adventure, taking you to the Lion Safari Park and Crocodile Rehabilitation Centre. While these spots may not be high-end, they offer a raw and unique experience, especially for families or first-time visitors. Neyyar isn’t about grand sights or adrenaline; it’s about pausing, watching, and breathing. It’s best visited on a weekday for a quieter experience. There are limited food options, so carrying your own snacks and water is a good idea. If you’re looking for a simple, refreshing day surrounded by nature, Neyyar Dam is well worth a visit. During monsoon this place offers a completely different experience than that of the summer. Facilities are mostly minimal and the central view tower definitely needs some better management. Also thats the same situation of the parks, can be maintained well, with proper land management and maintenance. If you are someone who enjoys a view its a great place. There is also a KTDC restaurant right next to the dam. I hope they have accommodation facilities too as they had a decent menu. Prices seemed reasonable and can be subjective. There is also an aquarium that has a ton of fish species, and there are some giants too, giants in a sense as if they weigh over 50kgs. It has a seperate ticket counter. I believe it was the first fish aquarium in india or asia. The lighting and interior ambience during monsoon is very dull and moody, but i hope it will be better during the summer. The structure is also comparatively better considering a public building, its not great in terms of aesthetics but is definitely good in terms of flow, movement and exhibit placement. I liked that one. It also has some huge ponds outside the building close to its perimeter that has some large koi fishes. Overall a good place for a one day trip, and it’s always better to visit and leave early. Check with the authorities for official timings.

As you arrive, the dam greets you with two distinct views. On the lower side, you’ll find the shutters, a beautifully designed bridge, a children’s park, and other recreational spots. The upper side, in contrast, offers a serene atmosphere—remarkably calm even with over a hundred visitors present at the time. Nearby, there’s a Forest Department office, a cafeteria, and a crocodile park—though the latter could certainly benefit from better maintenance. One of the most exciting features is the variety of boat trips available within the dam, including a longer safari-style excursion. Overall, the experience is enjoyable and memorable. However, it’s hard to ignore the missed potential. The tourism department appears to be underperforming, especially given the vast opportunities available to develop the area into a major attraction. Right now, it feels like a beautiful title waiting for the poem to be written. A sincere request to the government: show the commitment and vision needed to transform this naturally gifted location into a world-class destination for travelers from around the globe.

Neyyar wildlife sanctuary has boating service along with elephant visits, deer visits, crocodile visits. Ticket fare is 100rs per adult. It's a very good view through the boat. The park has 2 elephants of one male and one female, lot of deers and you can see monkeys too. There will be guide who guides you and also convey all the information regarding park and animals. In the area where crocodiles are placed, has a python too. Each crocodiles are kept in separate cage. When you move forward you can go to the neyyar dam. A watch tower, dam, children's park, aquarium, swimming pool are provided. As all those near by, it will be a good spot.

A Must visit place. Place is so serene and eco friendly. Nature at its peak. Safari through a boat ride really worth trying. We may encounter wild animals If you are lucky enough.

Nice place situated near to Neyyar dam. We visited after rainy season so that there was water in the reservoir. There is no lion safari now. It is closed and there are no lions now. Picturesque views. We could able to see parts of hills from agastyarkoodam, kurishumala etc. There were three packages available. We took package-1 which covers deer park,crocodile park,elephants (1 big and 1 young one) and boating for 1 hour at 2900/-. Guides were there inorder to provide the information all the time. Boating was so good with panoramic views. Only 2-3 crocodiles are there in the crocodile park. We have to walk through a small narrow forest path unordered to see the deer park which was nice. We heard from one of the employee that all the lions are dead so that they have to shut down the safari. Earlier at a point, there were 16 male lions and it was difficult to feed them. And there were no profit from the sanctuary also. So one doctor approved for the sterilization procedure which made them infertile. It was a sad story.

Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary is a beautiful destination for nature and wildlife lovers. The boat ride is a must-try as it takes you close to the lion safari park and crocodile park. The sanctuary is well-maintained and perfect for a day trip with family and friends.

Agasthiyar falls are on the way from Papanasam temple to the dam area. One has to walk 500 m to get to the falls from the parking area. Most of the people going there take a bath in the falls. A separate bathing area and dress changing facility is provided for women. Overall a nice picnic spot. It was good but they allow only up to 5 pm. Overall it was nice place to spend some time. Water was clean and there is a special Siva temple which should be visited... the water falls was not a very big one. separate bathing area for gents and ladies.ladies crowd also large and ladies area also small. for gents it quite large and crows also less. the area not so neat.weekends will be crowded.water flow was good when we went on august.the road from papanasam checkpost will be narrow and hilly.probablity of trafiic jam during weekend is very high. we had 2 hours of jam. beware of monkey. only two small hotels are there near the falls. during break fast they serve poori and idly and lunch only tomotto rice and curd rice. dont miss kalyana theertham the path way is not neat. but the view point is good and temple above is very divine.

truly a beautiful spot to visit. The surroundings are calm with a cool breeze that refreshes the mind. There’s plenty of parking space, and the adult entry ticket is ₹70. It’s best to visit on normal days, as weekends and holidays can get very crowded. Private vehicles are not allowed near the falls since it’s a forest area, but the office provides shuttle buses (two are available) to take visitors from the parking area to the waterfall. The staff and security are very friendly and helpful—one security officer even helped us take pictures. There are small shops nearby for tea and snacks, and clean bathrooms are also available. Bathing at the waterfall is comparatively safe, and steps are provided to climb up for better views and photos. Payments are cashless, so only UPI or cards are accepted. Overall, it’s a well-maintained place and worth visiting. The best time to go is early in the morning. The falls open at 8 AM.

We recently visited Palaruvi Waterfalls, and it was an amazing experience! From the ticket counter, it’s about a 3 km ride to the falls, and visitors are taken there by the park’s bus service since private vehicles aren’t allowed. The waterfall offers a stunning view, and bathing in the cool, refreshing water was truly enjoyable. There are changing rooms available for women, which is very convenient. The area does have quite a few monkeys, so it’s best to keep an eye on your belongings and avoid taking food outside. The place wasn’t too crowded, making it perfect for a peaceful trip with family or friends.

A must-visit natural wonder! Palaruvi Waterfall is truly one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Kerala. The name “Palaruvi” means “Stream of Milk,” and it perfectly describes the white, misty flow of the water. The journey through the forest is scenic, peaceful, and full of greenery. Paal means milk and aruvi means waterfalls .A Refreshing experience worth the travel. This is located in Kerala and very well maintained(Unlike the several badly maintained falls in Tamilnadu). To protect our environment, Plastic Bottles and eatables are not allowed.The vehicle by which we travel has to be parked and all visitors need to travel 2 to 3 kms in the Forest department buses which is mandatory. The staff were very courteous as we waited in the queue and were making us comfortable. The view was stunning but involved climbing a path ! Can't bathe directly under the strong flow . A small area where we can take a dip in the cool, flowing waters was very refreshing !

Nice place to visit, Well maintained by the Kerala Forest Department. Friendly staff in guiding us too. Amble parking space. The transportation arranged is also good. The only drawback I saw here is the wait till me for transportation when we return back. People coming in groups keep on coming at different times and these people kept on entering in between the queues increasing the waiting times of the people already waiting there ,.especially the elder people and people with kids . I would humbly request deploying more staff on thr waiting area to avoid such situations, so as to ensure the smooth functioning of this tourist place.

Nellaiyappar temple Such a monumental temple with extraordinary architecture. It was simply blissful to be there. Temple is just in the heart of Tirunelveli. There are multiple temples inside the campus. It’s will definitely take more than 1 hour to complete all gods. If you are a spiritual and architect lovers. You shouldn’t miss to visit this temple.

A 2nd biggest siva temple in world,with very huge 3(3 for ambal + 3 for shiva)pragarams. Gomathy ambal is very gorgeous 😍 (gnanasakthi swaroopam). I have given 5 starts because every inch of the temple are very clean , Management is not shown that much interest in commercializing darshan( No 100rs,50 rs tickets for darshan) only 5 rs that too not required for all days . I really felt shivas heaven when I entered near garbhagraham of nellaiyappar .I suggest all to visit arround 5.30 Am to see the thiruvanathal sevai ,you will never forget the temple in life

The queue is extremely long — it takes around 8 to 9 hours to reach the temple. If you are going with children or elderly people, it can be very dangerous because of the huge crowd. The security and police don’t seem to take much control, and most areas are so dirty that you can’t even place your feet comfortably. Once you enter the queue, you cannot step out or find a place to sit. If it rains, the situation becomes even worse — the ground gets messy and unhygienic. I personally waited for more than 8 hours, surviving only on a little water and a few biscuits. If there’s an emergency or someone needs to use the toilet, it’s almost impossible to leave the line. Seeing this made me question whether God truly exists here, because the place feels so unholy and inhumane. It literally felt like hell — plastic and garbage are scattered everywhere along the path. While the pathway itself is decent, people keep littering despite there being waste bins around. So, the problem isn’t with the government or the Devaswom Board, but with people’s mindset. Even though this temple is in the middle of a forest, people pollute it on their way to see God. It feels like the place has become more about business than devotion. We must remember — if there is any God, it’s within us, and only people can make a change, not any divine being.

Sabarimala is the sacred abode of swamy ayyappan and is situated on a hilly forest terrain in ranni perunad village in pathanamthitta district. This is the only temple in our country having a pincode 689713. Sabarimala is administered by atheists is a disgrace. Legendary belief is that after the victory over the demon, lord ayyappa meditated at sabarimala and attained moksha thus transforming this place as spiritual destination and worshipping here is highly auspicious. The holy eighteen sacred steps pathinettam padi is the main stairway to the temple. Here swamy ayyappa is placed gracefully in a beautiful sanctum sanctorum with dwarapalakas. Acknowledging the traditional importance and to adapt contemporary sensibilities temple is opened for five days every month. Main pilgrimage season is the mandala makara vilakku from november to january for sixty seven days. During the year temple will be opened for certain festival days also for a short period. Pilgrimers observe 41 days celibacy as customary principle for darshan to this temple. As part of custom womens of menstruating ages will not go for darshan. Without any dress code devotees themselves wear black or blue coloured shirts and dhotis. Here devotees address each other as 'ayyappa' or "swamy" and not by their names. Pilgrimers wear a thulasi bead carry a sacred bunch called as irumudi packed with cloth pouch filled with dried rice, ghee filled coconut, arcenut, jaggery, betel, coin, kadali pazham. Irumudi can be packed at pamba ganapathy temple. Atfirst to reach near nilackal for parking and by state transport bus to pampa. All trek barefoot towards sannidhanam from pamba which is the commonly preferred route. Some prefer other traditional trek routes such as erumeli kalaketti pampa and vandiperiyar sathram pulmedu sannidhanam. After wetting feet in the pampa river take darshan in pampa ganapathy temple and start trekking towards sannidhanam on the stone tiled paths passing through the divinely significant places such as sabaripeedam, pandithavalam, cheriyanavattam, neelimala, apachimedu and atlast reach sannidhanam. Those disabled can avail the dolly services. Free food at pamba and sannidhanam available but is conducted in a disgraceful manner. Those with irumudi kettu are only allowed pathinettam padi access. Devotees can offer for various rituals such as neyyabhishekam, ashtabhishekam, kalasabhishekam, kalabhabhishekam, pushpabhishekam which is also not systematically organized. Aravana and appam available as prasadam but commercialized. Common devotees are put to much hardship and maximum sufferings kept waited for long hours in long ques and are pulled out inhumanly before sopanam without enabling a small glimpse of the lord. Only bigwigs entourage found given undue privileges enabling smooth darshan. Moreover contributions of devotees seems not properly utilized for devotee friendly infrastructure improvements as the pilgrim facilities found inadequate in nilackal, pamba, erumeli and sannidhanam. Online bookings for darshan and accommodations handled unprofessionally. Being a globally revered divine destination sabarimala lacks professionalism and transparency in administration as it requires a separate devaswam and at the helm a IAS officer.

Saw about this temple online and planned for a visit during trip to tamilnadu. Temple gopuram was very captivating and you can see padmanabha swamy and Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy and andal birth place. This padmanabha swamy is very clearly visible and priest explained everyone around lord Vishnu and it is very beautiful. Definitely go and take blessings. No rush, no queue, no ticket, just peaceful visit.

What an amazing temple located in the town of Srivilliputhur. The temple gopuram is one of the largest in India, truly mesmerising- The temple has three Vishnu deities- Vishnu in standing posture,one in sleeping posture and another A Narasimha diety.. There’s a seperate Sanctum for Devi Andal.. Mobiles are not allowed inside the temple sanctum. Lockers are provided for keeping phones. Never forget to taste the legendary Srivilliputhur Palkova!!! This temple is about 10 minutes walk from Srivilliputhur bus stand. Went here on a weekday and this temple was not crowded. From the gopuram which we are we enter the main temple which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Andal temple is situated in left side of the Vishnu temple. We can take mobiles inside the Vishnu temple but mobile phones are not allowed inside Andal temple and mobiles have to be deposited at mobile keeping centres in front of Andal temple. The sculptures at Andal temple are great. Outside of temple on the road there are many shops which sell the famous Srivilliputhur palkova. Srivilliputhur does not have many hotel's or restaurants. Extremely serene, beautiful Divya Desam. Visited on Ekadeshi. Thought it would be very crowded. But to my surprise, it was not crowded. Visited early in the morning at about 8 am after driving down from Madurai.

A peaceful and memorable visit to Madurai Meenakshi Temple I recently visited the Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple and it was a beautiful experience. The temple is grand and full of history, with amazing carvings and colorful towers. At the moment, the towers are under renovation and painting work is going on, so most of them are covered. Still, the temple’s beauty and energy can be felt everywhere. Inside, the atmosphere is calm and spiritual. The darshan of Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareswarar felt very peaceful. Even though it was crowded, everything was fairly well organized. One thing to be careful about — there are a lot of people outside trying to mislead visitors, especially auto drivers and some shopkeepers. They might say there’s no cloakroom inside, but don’t believe that. There are official cloakrooms near all four temple towers where you can safely keep your slippers and mobile phones. This place is awesome. A lot of spiritual values with history. Located in between City. Market, shops, restaurant near by. Special Darshan can be available with 100 rs ticket for both temple inside the campus. Free darshan takes more time than usual. Now painting work is going on. And maybe it will six months atleast so now people not able to see it's beautiful architecture from outside. Mobile, Smart watch, earbuds etc not allowed inside temple. U can kept it in claok room with reasonable price less than 20rs accordingly. No special dress code required for this temple. Nearest junction is madurai and auto available easily or u can go by walk.

One of the most famous Temple of India , situation in Madurai. It's temple of Meenakshi Amman otherwise known as Devi Parvathi. Don't miss this temple ,it's also one of the oldest temple in India . Best time to visit will be during 5 or 6 AM in the morning,so that you can finish darshan in less than 30mins ,it gets crowded later in the day . The people there are incredibly pure and kind-hearted. Their warmth and the way they treat visitors stood out to me—they genuinely make you feel respected and welcomed. Before entering the temple, there are a few important rules to follow. You must remove your shoes, and bags have to be deposited at the designated counters. Shoe storage is available for free at specific counters, which is very convenient. Mobile phones and electronic gadgets are not allowed inside the temple premises, and you cannot leave your phone inside your bag. There is a special counter meant only for mobile phones, where they charge ₹5 per phone. So if you are planning to visit, it’s best to come hands-free or carry only what’s necessary so you can enter peacefully and enjoy the temple without any hassle. Do not visit this place until they finish their renovation. It’s total waste of money and time. On each side of main building which is under renovation, there are two galleries. One is paid and another is either free or included in the price. Staffs at both centre were taking their mid noon nap and was not bothered to greet or say hello. All what’s on display was in a very bad state. There were lots of spelling mistakes on all the writings. Someone accountable, please have a look. This is not what a Gandhi Museum in India should look like even when it’s on renovation. Very very very disappointed and has never seen anything pathetic like this.

Didn't go there. This is always in renovation. Wase r of time. Glad that ticket cost is not so high, just ten rupees per adult and five rupees for kids. Museum renovated for ever ..this is a bad administration for all relevant departments. And it's a huge reputation damage to the City. I urge honorable district collector sir to jump in an look into this on priority.

Main museum is under renovation (it was supposed to have reopened by now), government museum is often closed depending on the day, and the only thing to see is a small exhibit on the Indian independence movement, a replica of Gandhi’s house, and a shrine that (supposedly) contains some of his ashes. Worth 30-45 minutes if you’re already in the area otherwise skip it - you can get the same information about Gandhi online quite easily. Also why is there a giant T-Rex at a Gandhi memorial? Seems a bit distasteful.

I visited this place on 17th July 2025. There was only a small gallery where you could learn about india's journey from when the britishers started colonising to the independence period.. it would take 30- 40 mins to see this gallery. A lot of history that we learned in school and more can be understood from here. In addition to this there is a small museum that was open. There is also a small memorial where Gandhijis ashes are kept. However, the main museum was closed for renovation. Based on my interaction with one staff member, it seems the closed part of the museum would re-open on 2nd October 2025. Pls check with the latest info.. i have seen many reviewers criticizing the staff working there. However, i never faced any issues and the staff were very polite.

The government museum was closed as we visited on a second Saturday. Some sections of the museum were set up on some individual buildings which we could see. Our experience was good.

It has many historical artifacts. # Inside the gallery the staffs were watching reels with high volume. # The security in front of the small museum was very rude. As tourists we may not know everything about the museum and buildings. So if we ask something I believe they should answer politely or guide us to someone who is more informed.

A good place depicting Gandhi s life… takes 45 minutes to see… very spacious.. Gandhi s blooded last cloths are placed here for exhibition.. Indian freedom movement is portrayed here… good place overall… Gandhian studies are taught here.. calm environment…

It is one of the 108 abodes of Lord Vishnu, who is worshipped in the name of Kallazhagar. The mandapam and the exquisite pillars leave one in awe. The Chithirai festival during which the god Alagar visits Madurai and enters into the river Vaigai is the most famous one attracting devotees from all over Tamil Nadu. This is actually a great occasion not seen elsewhere in Tamil Nadu. It is the common forum where the folk and the elitist population mingle with each other. Before visiting to this temple that I was not aware about the story of how lord Vishnu played the role of brother for durga mata in her marriage...and thus temple is dedicated to brother of Durga maa that is kallazghar akka vishnu ji.. This temple is really mesmerizing...in love with this temple because of location, the carvings, the positivity of the temple that you will feel instant divine connection. The famous kal alagar temple located in the hills of alagarmalai is quite a beautiful place to visit in Madurai. There’s a huge parking area outside the temple complex. The gopuram is tall and sculptures are well preserved. The main shrine is located 100 meters approx from the main entrance. Average waiting time is 15 to 20 minutes on weekdays

The temple is truly beautiful, and the prasadham is excellent. If devotees visit, the free line moves faster than the paid one, which is convenient. The Ramanujar shrine is a peaceful spot where you can rest, and the Perumal looks stunning. A visit to Shakarathalvar is a must, but before that, make sure to stop by the Karupu Swami Kovil at the entrance—the aroma of his sandhanam is heavenly. After that, you can see Azhagar and explore the other shrines at a slow and relaxed pace, making the visit truly enjoyable. The temples maintainance was so good and kept clean.

Pazhamudhircholai, one of Lord Murugan’s Arupadai Veedu, is where Avvai Patti received wisdom from Murugan himself — about hot and cold fruits! I visited on a Sunday around 5:30 pm, there was quite a crowd, so I took the ₹100 darshan ticket. If you wait for about 30 minutes, the rush settles down and you can have a peaceful darshan. The picture gallery is lovely they even give a Murugan Valli Devasenai photo with a coin, a nice keepsake for pooja, travel, or gifting to others. The temple layout is beautiful: Vinayagar shrine comes first, Murugan with Valli and Devasenai in the center, and the Vel shrine at the end. Set on a hill, the place is cool and serene though the monkeys are plenty and a bit aggressive thanks to frequent feeding. So, guard your food and belongings! A visit here is a true delight, especially to see the ancient Kadugal and soak in the divine calm of the hills.

Small temple from the Aarupadai lot and open at all times. Vehicle parking is available on the road sides. Slightly ghat section and people will be walking all along to climb up/down. You will see much crowd in boarding the bus rather than at the Temple itself. Highly recommended to go on own transport.

A padal Petra sthalm. This temple is so famous in the name of Utchi Pillayar temple. When you step up to Utchi Pillayar temple this Thayumanavar (shiva) temple, Mouna madam temple, Meenakshi Sundreshwarer temple, many small temple (sculpture) and also Pallava caves is on this route. Big step around 600 is there. All temple are well maintained. You should have to spend about 3 hours to get your dharsan and photos.

Such a worthy visit. Best temple to visit if you love ancient architecture. Best time to visit will be early in the morning and early in the evening before the temple closes, to avoid crowd. I was not able to get a Darshan because of the long que, even though it was disappointing, the exploration into the architecture made me compensate.

Srirangam is a magnificent temple with a vast, beautifully maintained complex. The divine idol of Anantha Shayana Vishnu in the main sanctum is truly awe-inspiring. Don’t miss the Lakshmi and Garuda shrines. The temple is very clean and well-managed. You can also opt for the ₹500 official ticket for direct darshan.

This temple coumpound is large, well maintained except few areas. Free place to keep shoes. Mobiles allowed. I could see n elephant & there's also cow shed inside . It looks like more easy going temple than others.

This temple in Srirangam is around 2 kms from the more famous Ranganatha temple. It is dedicated to Jambukeshwarar (Shiva) and Akhilandeswari (Parvathi). Legend has it that Parvathi prayed in the Jambu forrest and created a lingam made of water from Kaveri river. This temple is one of the pancha bhoota sthalams, signifying water as its element. As one enters one of the gopurams, one gets the feeling that the temple is relatively small with an open space, pond and gardens. When one goes further inside, the massive enclosure in which the temple stands reveals itself. The precincts are beautiful, some of them with many ornate pillars. The sanctum of the temple is dedicated to Lord Jambukeshwarar and is a small space where not more than 5 people can stand at a time. It is a beautiful structure and a must visit for anyone visiting Srirangam/Trichy along with the Ranganatha temple. We did not see any designated parking around the temple and had to park on one of the lanes in the vicinity.

Divine Evening Visit to Jambukeshwara Temple We visited the Jambukeshwara Temple in the evening, and it was a serene and peaceful experience. This temple represents the Jala Lingam (water element) among the five Panchabootha Lingas, and it was our final stop to complete the sacred journey of all five. The temple’s architecture is beautiful, and the spiritual energy inside is truly calming. The approach roads are quite narrow, but there is sufficient parking space near the temple. Inside, we were delighted to see the temple elephant, which added to the traditional and sacred atmosphere. The priests were polite and helpful, and the overall experience was memorable and spiritually fulfilling — highly recommended for anyone visiting Trichy!

A simple yet beautiful Shiva shrine surrounded by an awe-inspiring enclosure of mandapams and pathways. The entrance, with the Nandi Mandapam and its four gigantic pillars, is among the most magnificent in any South Indian temple. Visit very much recommended. There is a new rule of no photography but you can carry your cames in the temple.

It is famous Siva temple, Out of five major elements Lord Siva represents water element here. Lord Siva is called as Jambukeswarar and his consort name is Akilandeswari. The temple has fine architecture. It is believed that goddess Akilandeswari is worshipping Lord Siva daily at noon. An archagar dressessed as a lady worshipping Jambukeswarar and cow at noon. Cow puja is famous here..

A huge temple complex Jabukeshwara Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is worshipped as the water element in this temple. It is around 10kms from the city of Trichy or Tiruchirapalli. On weekdays the temple here usually open at 5.00am and closes at 12.30 pm. And opens again at 4.00pm. One suggestion to all travelers do not refer timings given on Google to schedule your visit. Timings may change unexpectedly.

I recently visited the famous Brihadeeswarar Temple (Big Temple) in Thanjavur, and it was a truly memorable experience. The temple, built over 1,000 years ago by Raja Raja Chola I, is an outstanding example of ancient Tamil architecture and craftsmanship. The massive Nandi statue at the entrance immediately caught my attention — carved from a single stone, it is one of the largest and most beautifully detailed Nandis in India. The main temple tower (vimana) is also breathtaking, rising high with intricate carvings that tell stories from history and mythology. What impressed me most was seeing people from different religions and backgrounds visiting the temple. Everyone came to admire its beauty, peaceful atmosphere, and historical importance. It truly shows how art and culture can bring people together. The temple looks especially beautiful in the evening when the lighting enhances the details of the sculptures and the stone glows warmly. The place feels calm and spiritual, making it perfect for both devotees and those who simply want to experience its cultural richness. One of the most majestic and peaceful temples I’ve ever visited! The Brihadeeshwara Temple truly lives up to its name - grand, serene, and full of history. The Chola architecture is breathtaking, with intricate carvings and an atmosphere that feels timeless. I visited in the afternoon and stayed till evening. During the afternoon, the whole temple complex felt calm and soothing - I even took a short nap under the shade in the temple for a few hours and it was so relaxing. Later in the evening, when the temple lights came on, the entire structure glowed beautifully against the twilight sky. It was truly magical - the perfect blend of spirituality and artistry. A must-visit if you’re in or around Thanjavur. Make sure to stay till evening to see the temple illuminated - it’s an experience you’ll never forget. Two shops available for local art items purchase. One small shop available that has sweet and snack and rice available at there. No entry ticket required. No waiting at all for darshan. mobile photoshoot not allowed only in the main shivling darshan in middle temple. Otherwise no restriction. Auto easily available from bus stand and railway station also at cheaper price. Visit Thanjavur palace after this if u have sufficient time(only one hour is sufficient.) It's also a very pictures worthy place with beautiful backgrounds . Entry fee is 50Rupees . Enough parking space for 2 wheeler and 4 wheelers. There is also a small museum with household products of those era . A small library is also there if you want to know study more of that era .

Not a falls person but this made me one. It was majestic, spectacular and huge. We had to climb down steep steps of 1100 steps to get down there. Getting up again might be difficult. But it's worth the trip. Literally the best falls in Tamil Nadu imo.

The waterfall itself is absolutely mesmerising, with crystal-clear water cascading down lush green rocks, creating a serene and almost magical atmosphere. The sound of the falls, the cool mist in the air, and the surrounding dense forest make it feel like a hidden paradise. However, reaching the falls is “not for the faint-hearted!” The descent involves “around 1,200 steep steps”, and while the views along the way are stunning, the climb down (and especially back up) is quite challenging. The steps can be slippery, so wearing “good trekking shoes” is a must. There are a few resting spots along the way, but be prepared for a strenuous workout. If you’re not used to long treks, take it slow and carry enough water. Once you reach the bottom, the sight of the “powerful waterfall” makes every step worth it! The pool at the base is perfect for a refreshing dip, though the currents can be strong, so caution is needed. The untouched beauty of the place makes it feel like a secret escape from the world. Tips for future visitors: ✅ Start early to avoid the midday heat. ✅ Carry snacks, water, and a change of clothes. ✅ Wear “non-slip shoes” the steps can be treacherous. ✅ If you have knee or mobility issues, reconsider the trek. The journey back up is even harder, so pace yourself. But honestly, the sheer beauty of Aagaya Gangai makes the struggle worthwhile. It’s one of the most stunning waterfalls in Tamil Nadu, and the sense of accomplishment after completing the trek is unbeatable! “Highly recommended for adventure lovers and nature enthusiasts” just be prepared for a tough but rewarding experience! 🌿💦 Would I visit again? Located just a few kilometers from the city center, you can easily reach the entry point to the falls by car or bike. The Tamil Nadu Forest Department charges a nominal entry fee of ₹25 per person. From the entry, you'll need to descend about 600-900 steps to reach the waterfall. While the trek can be a bit challenging, the stunning views of nature along the way make it feel like a dream. The falls themselves are nothing short of spectacular. Towering and powerful, the cascading water resembles fine powder pouring from the top of the hill. The spray from the falls is so intense that it feels like standing in a gentle rain—an experience that will leave you mesmerized. Tips for Visitors: Wear raincoats and use waterproof mobile covers. Avoid carrying electronic gadgets unless they are well-protected from water. Aagaya Gangai is truly a must-visit spot for anyone exploring Kolli Hills. The walk down and up the 1200+ steps is worth for the view. It’s sad though to see the trash of plastics, clothes, etc. We seriously lack civic sense to maintain our nature.

Here's a review about Agaya Gangai Falls: Just got back from an epic trip to Agaya Gangai Falls with my squad! This place is a total hidden gem. The scenic beauty and serene surroundings are breathtaking.

One of the two brahma temples in India. A must visit in Trichy. The historical significance makes this temple a place one should never miss when they are on a pilgrimage. There is a beautiful outdoor spaces surrounding the temple that lets you relax and meditate.

A nice and peaceful temple located out of the way in Tirupattur in Trichy. Unlike the more commercial temples, this one wasn't crowded. This is actually a Shiva temple with a special shrine dedicated to Brahma. Legend has it that after Shiva cursed Brahma that he wouldn't be worshipped, Brahma did severe penance at the location of this temple. Shiva pleased, allowed Brahma to have a shrine here. So Brahma apparently changed his destiny, which is what many of the devotees here aim to do. Various types of poojas are done here and there is a big board outside the temple listing how many deepams to be lit depending on what desire needs to be fulfilled, including 'blessing for the birth of a son' :) There are many monkeys in the area so be careful with any eatables. There are 12 shiva lingams in a garden next to the temple. These are situated near a tank called the Brahma Theertam. We visited in the evening, there were many bats inside the shrines containing the lingams. Please be careful if you want to step inside. There is also a statue of sage Patanjali in the temple.

The only temple where there is a separate shrine for Brahma. If course within the brahamapurreswarar temple. Brahma is cursed without any shrine or devotees because her lied having seen the head of Shiva. Well maintained temple but cleanliness needs a lot to be improved. The temple is very beautiful and chill. No wait up needed as we visited during the day time. They have free parking facilities. It is walkable around the temple.

Presiding deity Lord Brahmapureeswarar is suyambu here and is seen slightly slanted. HIS consort Goddess Brahmasampath Gauri is housed separately in standing posture facing east. Lord Brahma worshipped 12 Lingams here including moolavar - devotees can see some near Brahma theertham and some in the prakaaram as well. A separate sannidhi for Lord Brahma, a big one with 3 heads is in the prakaaram. It is believed that Pathaanjali Muni attained JS here as well (one among 10 places). I visited the ashram roughly after 5 years or so. This time I found quite a considerable number of visitors, more so youngsters or families with kids, which was surprising for a weekday after noon. The solitude atmosphere was no longer seen inside the ashram. But it was very noteworthy that despite the presence of so much crowd, there was comparatively very little noise. However, parking has become quite difficult. The area outside the ashram has been totally taken over by auto rickshaws and some of them even blocking the way.

One of the best places to visit . I am requesting each and every person who is visiting Arunachalam please visit this ashram also. No photos and videos are allowed inside the ashram . But while going to the hilltop we can take but be cautious with the monkey. But one small issue is there if you drop the slippers in the ramana maharshi ashram when you climb the hilltop then You must get down again to take the slippers but if you go from the backside of the ashram then you can climb the temple with the slippers under get back from the other side of the mountain to the temple.

The entire temple complex is spacious and well-organized, with good crowd management even on weekends. The darshan feels very divine, and the pradakshina path around the temple is calming. The temple is clean, and facilities like drinking water and resting areas are maintained well. Best to visit early morning or evening for a more peaceful experience. A truly sacred and must-visit temple. Divine time to visit is during full moon days and suggested to visit early morning. Be carefull of your belongings and pickpockets. Enough restaurants, drinking water, wahsroom facilities are available throuvh out Girivalam path. Auto facility available for Girivalam.

Very peaceful and divine place. Arunachaleswarar Temple in Tiruvannamalai is truly powerful — Lord Shiva’s presence can be felt everywhere. The temple is well maintained, clean, and beautifully built. The Girivalam (Giripradakshina) around the holy Arunachala hill is around 14 km — a wonderful spiritual walk filled with devotion and positive energy. Best time is early morning or full moon days. Arunachaleshwara Temple has impressive scale and architecture, spiritual significance as one of the Pancha Bhoota Sthalam (Agni or fire), and the importance of the Girivalam (circumambulation of the Annamalai hill). It has a powerful, spiritual atmosphere, noting that the temple can be very crowded, especially during festivals or special events like Karthigai Deepam or full moon days., but also that early morning visits offer a more serene experience. Commonly mentioned engineering marvels of the temple, such as the massive stone construction and the mysterious shadow of the vimana and the spiritual energy of the place. You can pre-book just before 2-3 hours for darshan and can be booked both online and offline to avoid the long queues for darshan. Puja items are sold around the temple area.

Visited on week end. Too much crowded. Took around 5 hours to take the darshan. Finding car parking was difficult. Finally could able to park with the help of a auto drive around 800 meters away from Raja gopuram basically it's one of the entrance. Parking fee was Rs 80. I am not sure if this parking was really run by temple authority because it dint look so. Better to take Rs 50 entrance ticket to save some time. I was not aware that there is such facility. After the darshan we can buy sweet pongal and pulihogre for Rs. 10 each. Temple also sells laddus and other items priced Rs. 50 each.

Visited here during Pournami and did the Giripradakshina at night, starting around 12 AM and completing it by 6 AM. The crowd was massive, so after finishing the walk we took some rest in the morning as darshan was difficult due to the rush. Later in the afternoon, around 2 PM, we went for darshan and were able to complete it in just 30 minutes. The experience was peaceful and truly blissful — we really loved the place. The temple’s spiritual significance is highlighted in texts like Arunachala Puranam and Tiruppugazh, and Lord Shiva is believed to have manifested here as a self-born lingam under a magizha tree. Many saints, including Ramana Maharshi and Seshadri Swamigal, attained samadhi here. I visited today along with my friend, and the darshan was amazing. We spent nearly an hour in the temple after the darshan, and it filled us with a lot of positive energy. Please note: On Pradosham and auspicious days, the temple becomes highly crowded, and waiting time for darshan can range from 3 to more than 6 hours. Parking is also difficult, and you may have to park far from the temple and walk or take auto. If visiting with senior citizens, plan accordingly. Buying special dharshan ticket for Rs 50/- will help.. To avoid crowds, visit on non-festival days, non-auspicious days, and weekdays.

Good range of activities but felt unsafe We've been to several parks and facilities that offer rope climbing, zip lines, etc for kids. While Thrill Valley offers a good range of activities at acceptable (though not cheap) prices, I thought basic safety facilities were lacking. And that's why we wouldn't be going back. 1) Most facilities were operated by kids with no adults around. While they were friendly and tried to be helpful, they did not appear to be fully trained or qualified. They also didn't speak any English or Hindi, making basic communication difficult for us. 2) on the rope adventure, the safety wire attached to our younger kid's harness was too short. So the boy operating it just took it off in the middle of an adventure and held it by his hand rather than keeping it secured as it should be. 3) Our younger kid's harness was not tied properly. And came off on its own in the middle of the adventure. Fortunately neither of them slipped from the adventure. 4) there were no helmets provided for the zip lining. Very expensive of entry fees. Not worth for money to this place..

Nice to place to spend few hours at this place which is at Yelagiri. Very neatly maintained. Prices are little high for the stretch/duration of the activities. For example: kids obstacles activity is Rs.250/- which is insane. Just 4-5 mins my 5yr kid completed whole task and he wanted to play one more round for that another 250/- will be charged which is insane. Just take your kid or any family member who has never played these kind of games. For those who has already experienced then this place is not worth. Location is little outskirts of yelagiri. From lake it's around 3-4 Kms. Google map works we well till that place.

A great spot for entire family to spend few hours. There are many rides available for kids. ATV and zipline are popular ones. There are 3 ATVs, one each for 90cc, 200cc and 400cc. Kids take the 90cc and therefore there is a good wait for ATV as well as zipline. We felt prices are slightly on the higher side. They accept credit card payment. Clean drinking water is available near entrance, so are the toilets. Good parking space is available. The approach road is paved with stones and doesn't feel smooth. Staff are courteous.

The prices are reasonable and cleanliness is maintained . Some rides are expensive some are decent . Safety measures are not very good . Restrooms and parking slot also available .

Fantastic place to be with friends and family in yellagiri. It's a place for all age groups. Has a many choices of adventurous games and sports such as arching, shooting, zip line, Burma bridge, trampoline, zorbing ball, quake walk scooters, etc,. Need to buy tickets for each activities starting from min 100 rs each depends on what you choose. Just enjoyed...

Probably the best adventure park in yelagiri..Not very big , but big enough to enjoy for a short while . No need to stop amd ask for directions , as there are enough boards and signs on every road , directing you to the place . There's ATV ride,zip line ( below 80kgs), archery , bottle shooting , few Rope walks etc .

This fort is huge and hot even on a overcast day. The place does have restrooms but they arent clean and well maintained. Carry lot of water sunscreen hats scarfs to protect against getting a heat stroke. Wheel chair is available for elderly for free. But they just have one 1 so if its taken it will be a long wait. The ticket area has one small shop selling chips n cold drinks avoid. Drink only water. The more you buy food the more monkeys will trouble yoy, and the monkeys out here are extraordinarily defiant and unscathed by humans. They will reach out and not back down. The gingee fort is well maintained and is clean. Its quiet huge so wear walking shoes. There is ample space to sit under the larger than life banyan trees. Remember to take breaks. We could not scale the fort as we had senior citizen with us. But that climb is physically challenging.

UNESCO recently added Gingee fort as the Archaeological site of India.. it is famous for the well structured mountain top view with Giant Walls around the RAJA FORT and RANI FORT.. best place to know about historical sites and kings how they ruled their regions.. family will enjoy the place it has lush green garden. There are 3 hills - Rajagiri (1200 steps), Krishnagiri(around 700 steps) and Chandrayandurg. We only had a day, so decided to walk up to Rajagiri. It's better to do Rajagiri and Krishnagiri on 2 separate days, as the climb is quite strenuous. Also remember to carry at least 3L of water, esp if it's very hot. Before you ascend Rajagiri, you see the ruins of the palace, granaries, Kalyana Mantapa, gymnasium, hotse stables, ekephant ponds. Once you go on top you see granaries, look out points, bell tower, a cannon(there is also another one mid-way), Hawa Mahal, Treasury and Ranganatha Temple. A good experience, it takes around 1.5hours to ascend and 45mins to descend but you need to be fit, esp if the sun is shining.

Located in heart of Gingee town 5 minutes away from township. Time allowed at 8:30 am Takes 1-2 hrs to trek up you can see archeological important and unesco heritage site. You can how the king fort was built like elephant horse staple gymnasium food granary . Paid Car and bike parking available. You can book ticket online and in person.

I have visited many forts across India, but Gingee is completely different. The structure, overall vibe, and scenic beauty are totally worth your visit. Must recommend place.

An awesome experience if you feel like you are missing out something in life. This is what I experienced and some tips for you if it's your first time. It was my first time but I was a little prepared. I started early. I was the second person to get the entry ticket. They open at 9am if you really wanna explore and have the fort for yourself make sure you reach before 9am. Make sure you wear proper footwear or shoes that won't slip on rocks. Rain or sun the rocks at the first half are soo slippery. I was wearing shoes yet it slipped coz there was no friction. You need alot of water, I had almost 3lts of water and energy drinks and ran out of them at the summit. So atleast you need 2lts per head. Note that there is no drinking water once you start to climb up. Anyone who can't climb more than 3 stories through staircase don't try. Reason the steps become steaper as you climb and it's not easy. Also make sure to carry some snacks so that you can recharge after your climb and get back down with eaze. Caution: There are macaques everywhere and they are not normal macaques. I just sat down for a min and one just started opening my backpack while I was still wearing it. If you reach there by car make sure to lock your window, if you reach there by motorcycle make sure you don't leave anything in you tank bag. They even took my documents out and made a mess. Now for the good part, it felt like you just didn't something you thought you can't. The view and the architecture around are really awesome and breathtaking. Just get to know about the history of Rajagiri before you reach there. If you expect to see artifact's just know that except few cannons there isn't much. The interesting part, from a far it looks like a rock on top of pebbles but once you start to climb you'll see alot of caves, almost a tropical forest on your way. It was an awesome side quests for sure. Have fun and please use the trashcans and let's not litter.

Faith beneath a Hilltop Fort On the way to the fort of Gingee (or Senji) just after turning right, leaving the Gingee-Tindivanam Road, this standalone non functional temple within a well curated garden is unmissable The ASI board says - Ekambareshswar Temple (the popular temple of the same name is in Kanchipuram) which means it was once dedicated to Lord Shiva Nothing much is mentioned on the board except that the monument is protected and declared to be of national importance With no entry ticket, the temple courtyard is frequented with mostly locals, gossiping, studying and even taking afternoon nap Not sure if the existing structure is what it was earlier but it's fairly well maintained and constructed in Dravidian Architecture style probably during the time of Gingee Nayakas A good stopover point for anyone while going or existing Gingee Fort
