A very relaxing place perfect for jogging. One of the best places to jog around Quezon City area aside from Quezon City Circle. They do have affordable restaurants inside too.

So calm and relaxed atmosphere. Biking, jogging, walking or whatever fitness you do this is the place. And did I mention that it's also one of the top universities in the Philippines.

It was the first time I had ever been to the University of the Philippines. It's really huge. The place is beautiful and there are many guards who are well oriented in their work as peacekeepers and order in the university domain. And thank you so much to Manong guard who parked me on the island of the road where I was really the only one parked like a VIP. A lot of people and cars are crowded because of the UPCAT.

Sights & Landmarks
Monuments & Statues
Mount Samat in Bataan is a mountain peak that holds a memorial cross for Filipino and American soldiers who lost their lives during World War II. It offers a great opportunity for families to spend quality time together, as it is an easy climb suitable for beginners. Visitors are treated to breathtaking views from the peak, and can learn about the history of brave people who fought against conquerors for their country's freedom.
A second world war memorial dedicated to all brave souls who fought against the invading Japanese army. The place is clean and organized but the cross is off limits now. The view is awesome the 360 of the surroundings is really nice specially the Manila bay. Parking space is not a problem. Toilets area clean and accessible.
Jap P — Google review
If you're not a person who loves to walk and go to high places, please don't go here. However, I loved it here because I love walking!!! It's like an spiritual adventure because your specific goal is to reach that big big cross even though it will take a lot of your energy. There's also a lot of exciting and historical things to see when you reached the summit. I want to go here with my family next time!
Trisha L — Google review
Went here last Saturday (May 18) and paid P30 entrance fee (adults), P20 Students and P50 Parking Fee. I hope that the visitors are informed prior to entry that the museum and elevator going up, inside of the cross, are actually closed for renovation. Accessibility is hard for those who find it a challenge to walk as the road up and near the cross was also close. There's no other way to reach the cross than by walking. But ok for those who enjoy walking. Eating is not allowed on top and picnics are usually made prior to gate entry.
Joy L — Google review
We enjoyed the hikes and beautiful views but wish the museum was open already. It was emotional and thought provoking. We also hope the government allots money for the repair and use of the huge cross.
Lynda P — Google review
Place opens at 8 am, and the entrance is 50 pesos per head with 50 pesos for parking if you bring your car. They give the people a short seminar pertaining about the rules and regulations within the place (no eating while on the tour, and you're not allowed to fly your drone). Be ready for a lot of walking and spectacular views (pro tip: bring an umbrella).
Bergs G — Google review
The location offers a stunning view, but it requires a good amount of stamina to walk uphill and downhill. Most of the viewing establishments, including the museum, are currently closed due to renovation work. Furthermore, the cross elevator is no longer accessible to the public owing to security and safety concerns. Php 50 entrance fee Open from Monday - Sunday
Cynthia ( — Google review
Bataan National Shrine is situated atop the mountain with 550m elevation, overlooking nearby the picturesque Bataan towns and Manila Bay. The iconic giant Memorial Cross which is about 95m in height still remains mesmerizing (on a clear day it can be seen from MOA by the bay). Visitors are not allowed anymore to climb the cross as it needs renovation. The shrine is well maintained. Right after the entrance gate, there's local tourism office with staff and tourist guides. There are some souvenir shops, cold drinks vendors. The uphill climb from the highway has a series of stiff turns, be sure your car is conditioned. The place reminds me how selfless and courageous Filipinos are defending the country from foreign envaders. It is great that this shrine/monument was erected in honor of the fallen heroes.
Monch A — Google review
Great place to unwind, breathe some fresh air and learn a thing or two about our history. Also, they have such a nice turon beside the orientation place.

Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar is a refined retreat located in a reconstructed 18th-century village, offering a blend of beach relaxation, dining experiences, and cultural tours. It has been recognized as one of the Best Historic Hotels in Asia and the Pacific. The resort is situated in Bagac, Bataan, known for its historical significance and world-renowned hotels and restaurants. Visitors can enjoy various dining options nearby while exploring the rich heritage of the area.
It was my first and last trip to this place—with someone I deeply cared about. We were already having problems in our relationship. She only wanted to meet here, but I convinced her to meet in Bataan the day before. That day felt perfect, like maybe things were going to turn around. The place was beautiful—peaceful, romantic, almost like a small town in Spain. It gave this quiet illusion that things could be okay again. Maybe that’s part of its magic. I can see families or friends truly enjoying it here. We had a romantic full-course dinner and a lovely buffet breakfast the next morning. Everything was well thought-out and charming. For others, it’s definitely a place worth visiting. But for me, it’s now a memory that carries both warmth and sadness. A beautiful place I’m grateful to have seen—just not sure I can ever return.
Rida “ — Google review
Visited Las Casas for a day tour and I loved it. The grounds are beautiful, rich with history and stunning old houses. The interactive theatrical show Noli Me Tangere was a highlight, immersive, well done, and truly engaging. A memorable experience I’d recommend to anyone wanting both culture and charm.
Jayson D — Google review
Wow! This place is beautiful, clean, and peaceful — it really feels like stepping back in time. Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzas is rich in history and stunning architecture. Our room was spotless and had no unwanted smells, which is impressive for a historic-themed stay!
Cyrene C — Google review
We loved visiting this historical place. It truly feels like old Manila from the Spanish and American times. The staff were very kind and helpful to our family. However, for day visitors (especially those who traveled far), we need more easy places to rest and cool down at midday. Family rooms would help families with seniors and young children manage breaks and naps during lunch time. The beach area needs better facilities. We need cottages (shade) for day tours. Also, the shower setup was too basic—just a hose. Decent, clean showers and restrooms are necessary after swimming. Finding a toilet or bathroom across the whole area was hard for day visitors. They need to put more easy-to-see and well-kept restrooms everywhere for guest convenience. Also, having small shops around to buy drinks and snacks quickly would greatly help beat the heat while walking. Overall, it was a great trip and a must-see place. We hope these comfort issues are fixed when we return.
Drew E — Google review
A bit of a long drive from Manila, but definitely worth it! Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar offers a wonderful glimpse of our cultural heritage through its beautifully restored old Filipino houses. The rate includes a meal — food was average, but the great service, courteous staff, and entertaining cultural shows made the visit truly worthwhile.
Aileen V — Google review
My first visit here back in 2015 was fantastic, which set a high expectation for our recent May 2025 team building. Given the expensive room rates, I expected the quality to be worth it—but unfortunately, it was not. While the staff were accommodating, the food quality and service were major issues. Dishes were often not served hot. For example, the pork in the sinigang felt like "tidbits," or perhaps "tipid-bits". Even worse, the fish served for lunch was re-served again at dinner. The most critical problem was the room's air conditioning. Despite being on during the summer heat, it was not working at all, making the room hot and borderline suffocating. Take note, it's a company outing and probably 90% of rooms we had didn't have functioning AC. I ultimately had to move and squeeze into a friend's room that had a functional AC unit. Breakfast was adequate, but the dining area was clearly too large for the few staff on duty, making table management difficult. I sincerely hope management addresses these issues to restore the quality this place once had.
Coleen N — Google review
The place was good, like being brought back in time. Just don't expect modern amenities, floorboards will creak, and you'll be walking if you don't want to wait for the free jeepney ride. But it's part of the charm. The histories of the houses inside are interesting, the guides do a good job bringing the stories alive.
Xavier B — Google review
We had a day tour, and amazed by the preserved built and history of the heritage houses. The cost is very pricy for public, considering the location which is already distant, common public will be challenged with the price. The food served was disgusting. Their main could have at least 3 selections of menu : so guests have the alternative. Menu must reflect what Bataan specialises for in menus as same with the dessert. Bataan is known for its original and traditional puto bumbong, bibingka and other delicacies. Will comment this to friends and others. Staff are friendly.

La Mesa Ecopark

Mentioned on

Park
Nature & Parks
La Mesa Ecopark is a 33-hectare ecological park in Metro Manila, offering a refreshing escape from the city. It was established to protect the La Mesa Watershed, which provides drinking water for the capital. Reopened in 2004, it has become a popular spot for adventure seekers and nature lovers. The park features tropical gardens, ponds, walking paths, and a butterfly garden.
I went to La Mesa Eco Park last Sunday for a quick walk, and it turned out to be a great way to spend the morning. I really enjoyed the trail walk surrounded by small forest areas — it’s a peaceful place to think and clear your mind. It’s best to visit early in the morning when the air is still cool. Parking is widely available for both cars and motorcycles. Some areas inside are currently closed due to fallen trees, but there’s still plenty of space to explore. However, I noticed that some picnic tables and spots had trash left behind, which takes away from the park’s natural beauty. If you plan to visit, please clean up after yourself and dispose of your garbage properly, WAG KAYONG BALAHURA. Let’s help keep this place clean so everyone can continue to enjoy it. Fun fact: The park sits at the edge of the La Mesa Watershed, Metro Manila’s primary source of drinking water. It was reopened to the public in 2004 after a major rehabilitation effort by the ABS-CBN Foundation and MWSS to restore the forest and promote environmental awareness. Knowing that you’re walking in a place that literally helps supply the city’s water makes it even more special. Overall, it’s a refreshing escape close to Metro Manila — perfect for anyone looking to disconnect, reflect, or just breathe some fresh air without leaving the city. There’s a small entrance fee for non–Quezon City residents, though I don’t recall the exact amount.
Lakbay L — Google review
I paid 20 pesos entrance fee since I'm not from QC and it's very worth it though there are very limited places to go to on the park currently. The sound and the smell of the nature heals for real. Sadly, the pool is closed as well as the other parts of the park but it's still a great visit.
PORIO I — Google review
June 14, 2025: The park looks like it had better times. Some old pictures I see here really don't match the reality anymore. I added some I took. It's a nice park to relax, but the decline and lack of maintenance made me sad. We went early and booked the 7 AM time slot to go the mini forest in the hope of seeing birds and animals. You have to pay entrance as non QC and then again buy, in front of the parking, another ticket, 50 pesos, for the mini forest. They didn't ask about a time slot. The mini forest is very small but nice for a little walk. Unfortunately, a dog was running around in the mini forest constantly barking and disturbed the silence and joy. We didn't see any bird. The only animal was the dog. When we left, I told about the dog to the security man who let us in. He told the dog belonged to a worker. Very sad because when you book a time slot, you have to agree with a long list of their own park rules about noise and pet policy,..
Jan G — Google review
the park is home for countless of flora and fauna as well, it holds a lot of treasure that is deemed for protection. place is great for nature walks, sight seeing and learning the ecosystem that sierra madre shares. i hope the biodiversity that La Mesa Ecopark takes care of would thrive. looking forward for more activities that would catch the interest of common people to be an environmental advocate, enthusiasts and nature lover!
Stanley M — Google review
26 Oct 2025, 9am-12pm, 2 pax. Tricycle ride from Pearl Drive is 30php/pax and entrance fee is 20php/pax. Pool area is closed, plenty of felled trees still uncleared close to the picnic area, and the other activities fetch hefty prices. There are a few stalls for food and drinks butvit's better to bring your own. Thebuse of cottages require payment, though. The place is good for walks (it's not as big as one would think), but mind the slipperiness of the walks and pavements. I hope they do a bit more maintenance.
Glenn G — Google review
Good to bring family here to relax but brimg you own portable fan as it is too warm. Yoi can still feel the hot weather of the city even if there were a lot of trees. Guards should also monitor other guests because there was someone trying to learn how to ride a motorcycle while there were children playing and riding bicycles.
Jox G — Google review
La mesa Ecopark is open to the public with limited areas open. We registered online beforehand, but the confirmation wasn't checked when we bought the tickets. Went here on a holiday (2025) and the place wasn't crowded. Entrance fee is PHP20 if you're not a QC resident. They have bike rentals (PHP150- 250 rate per hour) but the area to bike on is pretty limited. The park has other activities you can try (mini rock climbing, archery, paintball shooting) and there are small stores you can buy meals from if you don't have packed meals. About half of the park is closed including amenities like their swimming pool, flower terraces, orchidarium which is a bit disappointing. But the picnic areas had lots of benches under shady trees, so its still good to rest after walking. They also have free drinking water fountains so bring your reusable tumblers. Parking wise, there's a lot of spaces, some with uneven paving. How to get here via commute: From Trinoma, look for the UV terminal parking along EDSA and ride a van going to SM Farview. Alight at Pearl Drive, and ask for a tricycle to take you to La Mesa Ecopark. Overall this is still a good place to unwind, just a few minutes away from the city center.

All Hands Beach

Outdoor Activities
All Hands Beach is a family-oriented strip of sand that offers an array of water-based activities, including snorkeling over a reef and jet ski rentals. Visitors can also enjoy waterfront dining while taking in the picturesque scenery. The beach is well-maintained and quiet, with clean surroundings thanks to the attentive staff. The rooms are kept in immaculate condition, and the air conditioning provides a comfortable stay even on hot days. Free breakfast is offered every morning, which is both plentiful and delicious.
I visited this beach when I was stationed here when the US Navy still had a base here. I must say the Filipinos have seriously upgraded the place. Your entrance fee is 700 pesos a person, and that grants you access to your own cabana and all the floating toys and things. Also included is being towed by jetski on various inflated riding toys. There jet ski rentals here as well.
Kevin E — Google review
Our third time to this resort 😀 All Hands Beach Resort is a clean and friendly place. The staff are nice and always ready to help. The resort provides free breakfast, towels, and hygiene kits. Our kids loved the inflatable pool on the beach. You can also rent kayaks and jetskis for fun. The resort used to have a bigger beach, but now it's smaller because of a new dining area. Still, it's a good place for families to relax and have fun.
A. S — Google review
The place was nice but, jellyfish is often but that's nature. You really have to wear rash guards. Reminder, no speakers and glass bottles (I like that for the safety and the tranquility of the place.) I recommend the place for a day tour they have lots of cottages. Several water activities like jetski, banana boat ride etc
Froilan F — Google review
We go to this beach when we want to relax and unwind. What I like about this place is that the facilities are clean, and the staff are nice and friendly. They provide flyers for the safety of their guests. It's not crowded, especially on regular days. The kids enjoy the inflatables, and there are lifeguards in the area to ensure everyone's safety.
Loree L — Google review
The beach is well maintained. We saw the lifeguards cleaning the beach and other staff cleaning the area. Mababait ang mga staff. They now gave out flyers/advisory upon entering. Baka dahil sa incident. What i like: 700 entrance fee including na ang cottage. No corkage fee for foods and drinks. No fee for grilling Clean shower/changing room. What i DON’T like: There’s a rotten smell coming from the nearby place. Lalo na pag humahangin. We asked the staff kung bakit mabaho and they said na galing sa mga container truck from the nearby establishment. This almost ruined our experience. Sana before entering/registration nag inform sila regarding the smell.
Ana G — Google review
Located 10 minutes walking from the cruise ship terminal it is a small but clear water beach. Back in the 50s it was one of the favourite beaches of the USA navy. The water is still and clear, full of sea life and it is also the nesting place for turtles during the months of October to February. It has a entrance fee of 15 dollars to use the beach facilities but if it is only to acess the bar then it is free of charge. Food and drinks are not expensive. Internet is slow.
Ana T — Google review
Great place to unwind. Was surprised how clean and clear the water was. Great ambiance too. Better to book online as cottages, rooms, tables and chairs can be unavailable for walk in's, or better arrive as early as you can.... speakers and butanes are also not allowed. They have their own grilling station. You can also order your meals inside, ordering grill foods starts at 10:30am.

Hands down for All Hands Beach Resort. Its the beach resort that caters to all age group and for all walks of life, for all ur needs. Rooms are new spacious and clean. AC is new and fully functional. Rooms rates are midrange. I like thier breakfast tray it has a little of eveything. Tables and shades are available for those who avail of day swimming and functions hall for seminars. They have outdoor sports for the well and able and beach siesta beds for those who would like to stay and relax and rubber slides for the kids. They have turtle egg hatchery and released back into the sea ones hatch. Definitely coming back soon.

Water & Amusement Parks
Water Parks
Amana Waterpark is a family-friendly destination offering basic accommodations and a variety of attractions. The water park boasts slides, 11 pools, and themed areas like the Jurassic Pool and Batman Pool. Guests can also enjoy zip line adventures and spa relaxation. Visitors appreciate the spacious wave pool, clean children's pools, and shaded areas. The park features cartoon and anime characters as well as a gift center for souvenirs.
(Back in March-2023) We had such a wonderful time at Amana Waterpark in Pandi, Bulacan! The place is huge and well-maintained, with so many pools to choose from. The wave pool was definitely the highlight....it felt like being at the beach but even more exciting. What made it more enjoyable was the variety of themed pools and the life-sized characters around the park, which made it fun for both kids and adults to take photos. The cottages were comfortable, and the whole environment was family-friendly and safe, with lifeguards always on duty. The staff were accommodating, the facilities were clean, and the rules were well-implemented to keep the place organised. It’s also very accessible from Metro Manila, which makes it a great quick getaway. Overall, Amana Waterpark gave us an unforgettable and refreshing experience. Highly recommended for families, groups of friends, or anyone looking to enjoy a fun and relaxing swimming adventure! 🌊💦

Disappointing Experience!!! Poor Customer Service and UNHYGIENIC Accommodations I wouldn’t recommend this resort to anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Despite offering overnight accommodations, their customer service is only available from 8 AM to 5 PM. We requested blankets at 6 PM and had to follow up twice, including asking the security guard at 9 PM. The blankets didn’t arrive until almost 10 PM, right before we went to sleep. The room itself was extremely unhygienic. The electric fans were covered in dust and barely pushed any air. The walls were also dirty and had layers of dust. Worst of all, the toilet bowl was disgusting!!! It's cracked and clearly not properly cleaned. For a place that promotes itself as a resort, this was a very disappointing and uncomfortable experience. Definitely not worth the price or hassle
Madel J — Google review
We went today, and unlike before, a lot of the pools were closed. The room we stayed in (Baguio Villa) is a two-storey unit, but it was really hot inside and everything felt old and poorly maintained. There was no kettle in the room, and when we asked, they said there wasn’t any available because the one used for training wasn’t returned. We even paid ₱1,600 for early check-in, but honestly, it wasn’t worth it at all. The adult pool was closed and the water looked like matcha. The wave pool, which used to be their main attraction, wasn’t working the whole Saturday and Sunday, with no prior announcement. Most of the food areas were closed too. Before, Amana’s charm was having so many pools to choose from, but now most are closed. It’s sad to see that our favorite go-to resort before seems to be going downhill. Honestly, it’s not worth coming back to anymore, which is really disappointing because we used to love this place.
Nica G — Google review
Disappointing experience... Booked the viewdeck room: cr is not maintained well and looks dirty, no heater as well. Their blankets are thin. No phone nor wifi. Very outdated resort.
Erick R — Google review
Bad customer service surprised this got 4.1 stars lol, the room we booked is baguio villa. The bedroom is on the second floor and is hot as hell the aircon in the second floor is barely working, requested a fan 3 times and got ignored, we ask for just a simple fan literally an electric fan we can use because the aircon above is non-existent and they just ignore it. Younger staffs were nice, but a specific older woman were giving us unexplainable attitude. Upon reception our reservation was allegedly taken by someone else according to the receptionist then waited a few minutes to fix their mistake, but then we were forced to change room location because they gave our booked room to others. We know not to expect much from it but then just make it convenient is enough for a nice stay. Maybe do a day tour it's much more better than staying the whole night in a hot room
Jio C — Google review
Very disappointed that they are letting this place fall apart. No maintenance or repairs, it only has got worse each time that we had visited. None of the pools have working water filtering pumps or jacuzzi sprays. Wave pool without waves and only a few pools that are still usable. The rest of the pools are now just mosquito breeding grounds. Staff just sitting around as the place rots.
Josh A — Google review
Amana Waterpark is a fun and exciting place for all ages! The pools are clean, the slides are thrilling, and the life-sized character displays add a unique touch. Perfect for a family day out or barkada bonding!

Brae was awesome both times we came here. She gave delicious recommendations, was incredibly attentive, very friendly, and courteous as well. She remembered a food allergy from when we came a few weeks ago, and obviously pays good attention to detail. Even if the food was bad (which it was not, the food is delicious), we would come back for the outstanding service!

The place has expanded quite a lot since my last visit. The mall has a wide selection of shoe offering, which each store is huge. It also hosts local food favorites from Olongapo It has ample parking, but as usual, the design is cramped and less traffic efficient (with a criss-crossing of inbound and outbound vehicles. The mall is just along the maind highway of the base; so it is easy to find your way. 35 pesos will cost you to park your vehicle.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Great food, warm ambiance, and excellent service! The pasta was flavorful and the servings were generous. Perfect spot for family or group dining. Highly recommended!

Servers werr very attentive and thoughtful! They even lent us a cellphone stand when they noticed we were struggling because our toddler was watching while eating. We really appreciated how patient and understanding they were — none of the staff seemed bothered by our playful toddler. Thank you for the excellent service! 💖

Still one of our favourite shopping malls in the area. Best supermarket prices in Puregold. S & R New York Pizza so yummy and very good prices. Not to be missed. A very good selection of shops and eating places.

We always eat at Italianni’s in BGC, so when I found out there’s one here in SBMA, I had to try it. Turns out, it’s just the same as in BGC

Wide parking spaces. Have a lot of establishments and stores to choose from. We go here to survey ham prices, as they have Puregold supermarket inside. The parking fee is 30 pesos, we have 4-wheels hatchback type vehicle.

SM City Clark

Mentioned on
15 lists
Shopping mall
Shopping
Located in the province of Pampanga, Philippines, SM City Clark is a popular shopping and entertainment destination just 90 minutes away from Manila. This expansive mall offers a wide array of retail stores, eateries, and entertainment options including a cinema and an IMAX theater. It's a favorite spot for families and friends to gather for a day out.
SM City is a well-rounded shopping destination with a variety of retail stores, dining options, and entertainment choices, making it a great place for families and individuals alike. The mall offers a mix of international and local brands, ensuring that shoppers can find what they need, whether it's clothing, electronics, or specialty items. The atmosphere is generally pleasant, with clean walkways, well-maintained facilities, and a secure environment. One of the mall’s biggest strengths is its diverse food selection. There are plenty of restaurants and snack shops catering to different tastes, from fast food to sit-down dining experiences. However, while most restaurants meet quality expectations, there are a few that fall short, particularly in terms of menu variety and ingredient quality. One noticeable issue is the lack of alternatives for those with dietary restrictions as I have. Some restaurants do not offer substitutions, which can be disappointing for customers who cannot eat certain ingredients, such as corn. Corn can be a health risk for some. In these cases, it may feel like a portion of the meal is wasted and there are no substations which affects the overall dining experience. On the positive side, the mall provides a convenient and enjoyable shopping and dining experience. For those who appreciate fresh, well-prepared food, some establishments stand out for their quality and service. As I continue to explore different restaurants within SM City and beyond, I will share more detailed reviews on individual dining experiences, including both highlights and areas for improvement. Overall, SM City is a solid choice for shopping and entertainment, with some room for improvement in specific dining options. It remains a good destination for those looking for a mix of leisure and convenience.

It's not the biggest but it has many branded shop fully-occupied with stalls in the center corridor. Has huge activity center, a merry-go-round for kids, starbucks cafe in the middle ground floor, and complete shops and entertainment for various needs.

SM City Clark is a very big and beautiful mall! It’s the largest mall in Clark, Pampanga, and has a really nice and modern design. There are lots of shops, restaurants, and fun places to visit. The place feels clean and spacious — perfect for family or friends to hang out and enjoy!

As expected, just like in all the other sm malls, air con, is always a key for a good shopping experience, and this time didn't. Disappoint . Super clean, and all the security. Staff, are always around.

Mt Pinatubo

Volcano
Nature & Parks
Nestled in dense forest, Mt Pinatubo is an active volcanic peak known for its 1991 eruption, one of the most destructive in Philippine history. Despite this, it remains a popular destination for hikers and travelers. The hike to the summit takes two to three hours but rewards visitors with stunning views of the crater lake filled with blue-green water. Tour operators offer trekking packages to see this breathtaking sight.
it was an amazing experience to see the beautiful disaster, even with the gloomy weather. for beginners, this was an easier trek (compared to the usual ones I’ve done). just be sure to stretch before you start, load up, wear the right gear, and bring tons of fluids to keep yourself hydrated. when we visited Mt. Pinatubo, the weather was unpredictable. we begin with a sunrise, then it poured. the good thing was, the path wasn't muddy, but some rocks were too slippery to step on, but the best thing was, my trusted hiking sandals didn't disappoint so I conquered those rocks with ease. we also prepared loot bags for the Aetas that contain snacks and candies. these were given away while we trekked. the 4x4 ride, which I thought would be quick, was surprisingly long; you could even nap during the trip! thankfully, ours had a hood cover, so no sand in our hair, and we rested comfortably both ways. I also bought a bamboo stick from the Aetas for 15 PHP because I didn't have a hiking rod. it served its purpose, nonetheless. we had one stop before we reached the actual start of the trek, and along the way, several vendors, sell grilled hotdogs, bottled drinks, and street food. when we reached the peak, there was no clearing, so we waited a bit for the skies to clear up. we also climbed down the stairs to be closer to the lake and have a tight view of Mt. Pinatubo. honestly, those stairs were more challenging and tiring than the actual trek itself, but fulfilling and meaningful. we wanted to stay longer, but the weekend crowd made it tough to enjoy the view, especially with the unpredictable weather. still, seeing the beautiful disaster up close, with the right people, made it all worth it.
Leanne M — Google review
the trek is amazing, an important information would be that during wet season the trek is 7.5km per way instead of the classic 3 on sep-march. however it is very enjoyable, bring lots of water and pack some food too.
Mathew V — Google review
Majestic !! Beginner friendly hike, the trek is 7.5 km per way (14km) and took around 2 hours each. The view from the top is great, but you can also go down to the crater caldera spring itself. We went around october 3rd week, no scorching heat at all, but i recommend bringing a hat still and some arm sleeves unless you wanna get tanned. The 4x4 ride was more of an adventure compared to the hike haha.
Chu L — Google review
Very nice trip! Amazing view! 1 hour of 4*4 drive from Capas, and then like 2.5 km easy walking to the crater. For foreign - you have to get entry permission to this trip. It is take like 15 days to get it from the air force authority.
צחי ש — Google review
A breathtaking experience with some drawbacks. Hiking Mt. Pinatubo is absolutely worth it—the views are stunning and the trail offers a unique mix of adventure and culture. We really appreciated seeing the simple, humble lifestyle of the local community along the way. However, I highly recommend avoiding weekends as the place gets very crowded. One major downside was the disorganized system at the 4x4 drop-off point. There was no clear queue, and the staff struggled to manage the crowd or properly group hikers. It created a lot of unnecessary confusion and delay. We joined a group tour, hoping it would ease the logistics, but unfortunately, the tour agency we booked with was unprofessional and didn’t handle coordination well either. Overall, Mt. Pinatubo is a must-see destination—but better planning and a more reliable tour operator would make the experience far more enjoyable.
Satrina M — Google review
The Pinatubo experience fails in my opinion in terms of the hassle of travelling to and from the base to where the hiking starts. The Mt Pinatubo itself especially the summit is something to behold, a majestic crater lake with lush trees and a fence-like structure molded by the last eruption encapsulating the whole mountain. If it was on the mountain it would be 10/10. Unfortunately even if you ride the best tours nothing will prepare you for the motion sickness that is about to unfold. I just think the local government needs to take measures to ensure the safety of people entering and exiting the area. For hikers it's an adventure but for people who just wanna try or if it's your very first time this mountain is quite easy to climb but the journey might make one sick from motion sickness. This is just my honest review. There are a lot of things that can be improved upon.

Joiners Tour from UniBersal Adventures. Manila pick-up started at 1AM. Arrived at jump off point in Sta. Juliana aroud 3:30AM. Waiting game - sign of waivers, eat free lugaw, short orientation. 5-5:30AM meet the guide then 4x4 ride. Strictly 4 guests per car. Cant choose if with or without cover. Swertihan din kasi parang ang bagal ng samin, lagi kami naoovertake. Better to cover yourself up kasi super alikabok especially at noon time nung pabalik na, my hair turned white. Trekking took us 1.5-2hrs each way, it also depends on your pacing. Lots of rest area, snack stores and make shift CR along the way. Several streams of water as you go. The guides prefer it if you wet your feet. Balancing on top of rocks while crossing can cause slowing down and accidents. Awesome view of the crater. You could go down by the water, but we chose not to. We went back past 11am, back at jump off point around 2:30pm. Windbreaker jacket worked fine for me. Not too cold in the morning and I didnt sweat so much while walking back at noon. Please tip your guide. Bring snacks for the aeta kids. Dont litter.

I will not say much and will let the pictures do the justice. Super fun experience, beginner friendly hike to the crater. First time hiking and i cant wait to go on my next one! Nature & Parks
Air Force City Park, located in the Clark Freeport Zone, is an impressive outdoor museum showcasing various aircraft used by the Philippine Air Force. Visitors can marvel at decommissioned fighter jets, propeller planes, and helicopters once utilized by the American air force during their time in Angeles City. The park offers ample space for leisurely strolls or jogging while providing opportunities to capture memorable photos. Additionally, families with children can enjoy playground facilities featuring monkey bars and slides.
We visited Airforce City during our granddaughter's school field trip. Old airplanes were on display. It was an educational experience for them. The place is large with ample playing area for the children.
Yam — Google review
Good place to picture with life sized airplanes. CR is not clean and only 1 for girls. Playground is all worn and some are broken and not safe for kids. Parking is big for cars, bus and motorcycles. There is a decent coffee shop in the park with aircondition if you want to cool off
Adrian M — Google review
You’ll find aircraft here that you don’t usually get to see up close! They look incredibly powerful and cool when viewed from just a few steps away. There’s also a café inside the park, perfect for taking a break if you get thirsty. I saw lots of people enjoying picnics in the shade of the trees — such a relaxing atmosphere!
Kana M — Google review
A small green space where four aeroplanes and a helicopter from the World War II era are displayed. A shaded path surrounds the park, making it a nice spot for a short walk, for example, with a dog. There are two playgrounds for children. There is also a (paid) parking lot and a café.
Anna K — Google review
I personally enjoyed coming here yer the plains are not in the best condition... you only need 1hr really... to wonder round the fue plains that are there... the playground for the kids is broken, and bits or the equipment are dangerous to use, so watch out if ur kids are going to play on the park
Andrew P — Google review
Un-loved park with exhibits in poor condition and barely readable information boards It's a disappointing visit really and sad that a better memorial can't be maintained
S T — Google review
Fun for a short trip. Perhaps best to go when it is cooler as not a lot of shade. Small cafe for refreshments and tons of parking. Nice bit of history with the decommissioned aircraft and a few pics. Otherwise not much to see unless you have a picnic or something.
Louis T — Google review
Air Force City Park in Clark used to be a nice spot, but it’s showing its age now. The walkway is cracked like tree roots pushed through it. The planes and helicopter on display are real, though none are functional. it’s more of a museum park. The playground’s in bad shape. Slides are gone, just ladders and monkey bars left. There’s a small café but I didn’t try it. Some say it’s perfect for picnics, but honestly the grass isn’t that packed and I wouldn’t recommend it unless you clean as you go. There’s trash everywhere even with “no littering” signs, which says more about the people than the park. Filipinos really need to stop treating public spaces like someone else will clean up after them. If you’re curious about old aircraft, it’s still worth a quick visit, but don’t expect much else.

Nestled atop the aptly named Mount Resurrection, the Monasterio de Tarlac is a breathtaking sanctuary that draws both locals and tourists alike. This serene monastery features a stunning baroque-style chapel and houses an impressive 30-foot statue of Christ, whose outstretched arms seem to embrace all who visit. The site offers not only spiritual solace but also panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, making it an ideal spot for peaceful reflection or a leisurely picnic.
A peaceful and spiritual destination in the heart of Tarlac. Monasterio de Tarlac offers not only a place for prayer and reflection but also breathtaking views of the mountains and surrounding landscapes. The highlight is the large statue of Jesus, which is truly awe-inspiring. There’s also a chapel where you can attend mass or spend quiet time in prayer. The atmosphere is serene—perfect for those seeking peace and a break from the busy city life. If you visit on a Saturday and attend the 10:30 AM mass, you may have the chance to touch or be blessed by the relic of the True Cross—a truly moving and humbling experience. The area is clean and well-maintained, with ample parking space. There are also a few stalls where you can buy food, souvenirs, and religious items. The drive up is smooth, and the road is in good condition. Whether you’re visiting for religious reasons or simply to enjoy nature and the view, Monasterio de Tarlac is definitely worth the trip.

This place is worth the trip up the mountain. Though we did not really hike up much of the way but we still did a very short hike. The view of nature was really relaxing like you would want to stay there for a very long time. There are also restaurants up there but we did not try it during our visit. There are also souvenir shops where you can buy souvenirs for your loved ones. Just be cautious especially the ones selling honey. If you just want one bottle be firm about it as they will really talk you into buying more than what you need. So just politely decline if ever you encounter them. But all in all it is a good place to visit and bask at the beautiful sight of nature with fresh air to breath in. If you have elderly company make sure to accompany them even though they got walking sticks as the place is up hill.

Monasterio de Tarlac is a serene and beautiful pilgrimage site, with a chapel that offers a truly solemn and moving Mass. The peaceful atmosphere uplifts the spirit. However, the experience is marred by the aggressive hawking of vendors at the food center, which disrupts the solemnity and makes the place feel too commercialized.
Roel — Google review
Monesterio de tarlac is a must visit place for both a spiritual journey and an adventurous one. The roads leading to it is a lengthy yet beautiful path to take. The place was serene and full of things to do. A place to pray, a place to see magnificent views, a place to eat, and many more. Definitely worth coming to.

The Minor Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag, also known as the Manaoag Church, is a significant religious site in the Philippines. Pilgrims flock to this stately church to pay homage to the centuries-old ivory figure of the Virgin Mary and seek miraculous healing. The church's Gothic and Baroque architectural styles create a captivating ambiance amidst lush surroundings. Inside, vibrant colors and intricate designs adorn the sanctuary, enhancing the spiritual experience for visitors.
Went here on my birthday. There's a 6AM mass. Gates open at 4AM and you can access the candle lighting area. There's candle there that you can get for any amount of donation. A Spiritual Gem: My Experience at Manaoag Church Visiting the Our Lady of Manaoag Shrine was truly a memorable and uplifting experience. As one of the most revered Marian shrines in the Philippines, it exudes a sense of peace and devotion that immediately touches the heart. The church’s stunning Baroque architecture is breathtaking — intricate details and a majestic façade make it a true visual marvel. What stood out most was the palpable faith of the pilgrims, many of whom come here seeking healing and blessings. The atmosphere is filled with hope, prayer, and a deep sense of community. It’s inspiring to see so many devotees, young and old, united in their devotion to Our Lady of Manaoag. Aside from its spiritual significance, the shrine also offers a glimpse into Filipino history and culture. The centuries-old image of Our Lady is a powerful symbol of faith for many, and participating in the novena or the annual feast day was a truly enriching experience. Overall, Manaoag Church is not just a place of worship — it’s a cultural and spiritual landmark that leaves a lasting impression. Whether you’re a devout Catholic or simply a curious traveler, a visit here promises a profound sense of hope and serenity.

Had our new car blessed… we have been bringing our previous cars to be blessed here. In the past… we can still park inside… now you have to pay outside for parking. There are also a lot of people selling stuff. Got our manaoag mama mary statue for 100 pesos. Though those sold by the parkimg attendant is charging it too much. 200 for small rosary. The church has not change since i was a small boy.

If you have never visited it before... You must go. Avoid the people who try to stop you to help you find parking. It's a scam, they will try to sell you candles that you can purchase near the church for p5 each. Other than that, you will need about an hour to really walk around the church and see what they have to offer. You will feel astonished and welcomed. I recommend visiting this church

Hundred Islands National Park Pangasinan

National park
Nature & Parks
Composed of 123 scenic limestone islands, this park offers hiking, snorkeling, kayaking & camping.
All the islands we went to had white sand, some even finer than then others. Lots of activities at Quezon Island (zipline, banana boat, etc). The locals are nice as well! Be careful of the jellyfishes esp at Marcos Island. They sting! We had the best time at Scout Island as it is not very crowded. By lunchtime, only 2 groups were left in the island so we had a quiet beach.

This day trip is well organized good safety and the staff are helpful and knowledgeable. The best part is that there are no vendors or beggars to ruin your day. but you can enjoy all the impressions of your senses. nice beaches for swimming or snorkeling. the captain of the boat drove very nicely through the waves adjusted the speed perfectly. We visited 6 of the islands the view deck was worth all the steps 100+ gorgeous 360 degree views. everything was well maintained fresh water on some islands comes from the harbor.

Big day, sensational scenery and water sports, been meaning to do it, so glad I've finally got there and you know what? Cruising around those islands on a big banana was really cool!

This tourist destination was so much better than I expected. A day trip is not enough to visit all of the islands with interesting beaches, caves, viewdecks, statues. We only visited 3 islands since we enjoyed the trek and views in pilgrimage island, the beach and boardwalk in quezon island, and kayaking in children's island. I will definitely go back here to visit the other islands that we skipped. One of the best tourist spots in Luzon.

A Memorable Island-Hopping Experience at Hundred Islands, Philippines Our family recently visited the Hundred Islands National Park in the Philippines, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! The island-hopping adventure was one of the highlights of our trip, offering breathtaking views, crystal-clear waters, and a variety of activities that everyone in our group enjoyed. From kayaking and swimming in the pristine beaches to hiking up the islands for panoramic views, there was something for everyone. The scenery was stunning, and it was incredible to see the beauty of nature up close. One of the standout moments was enjoying a delicious traditional Filipino lunch. For our group of 20, we paid $120 for a sumptuous meal that included a wide selection of seafood, meat, rice, vegetables, fresh fruits, and refreshing drinks. The food was flavorful and a perfect complement to the relaxing ambiance of the islands. The entire trip was very affordable. For just $105, we got a private boat ride with life vests provided, along with an English-speaking tour guide who was friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure we had a great time. Hundred Islands is the perfect destination for families, offering a mix of adventure, relaxation, and cultural experiences. Whether you’re swimming, hiking, or simply soaking in the views, this trip is an unforgettable experience that we highly recommend to anyone visiting the Philippines.

This is the 2nd time we do the island hopping. Now we are bringing our friends from Sweden. The first day the island hopping was too windy and the waves were too strong. But the next day we had our wonderful island tour. Our guide was good and helpful, we visited all the islands we got tickets for, there were 6 of them. Nice walks up to the top and especially the nice Bonsai garden, which was not there before. Nice swimming and snorkeling beaches. A little too big waves out by the islands where you can snorkel and see many fish, hard to get up to the stern of the boat. It is a great shame that the boats do not have mufflers. You can't talk to each other during the boat trip. I wish the tourist office could do something about this in the future.
Per C — Google review
Great tourist spot to spend the entire day at. You can pick different islands you wanna visit. But be aware the weather gets very hot out, the water near the docking area at the entrance is pretty filthy. You have to ride a small boat to tour around the islands, it gets pretty rocky. But when you get closer towards the islands the water is very clear. It’s a beautiful place to visit and I highly recommend for visitors. Will definitely come back when I visit Philippines again!

The Hundred Islands National Park is the first Philippine national park and a protected area located in Alaminos, Pangasinan. Believed to have come into existence around 2 million years ago, the Hundred Islands is a spectacle of a total of 123 islands and an additional island during low tide. It is the first national park in the Philippines, as declared by former President Manuel L. Quezon on January 14, 1940. Each island has its own charm but the entire coast boasts a magnificence and uniqueness that can only be found in Pangasinan.
Adrielle O — Google review
An amazing place but it is a hike from Manila. The drive is about 4.5 hours each way. There are 123 or 124 natural islands in this park (the number varies during high tide) and there are a lot of activities to choose from. Just circling the islands by boat is amazing but you will also want to swim, snorkel, Zipline, hike, and even cliff dive (from within a cave on Marcos island). There's a lot to explore. I recommend going with a guided group to make the most of your time.

It's one of the must-visit tourist spots in Baguio along with Mines View Park, Session Road, and the Valley of Colors.
Burnham Park is the vibrant heart of Baguio, offering a lively park experience from day till night. By day, the atmosphere can be peaceful and tranquil, perfect for a relaxing escape from the city's hustle and bustle. The iconic man-made lake at the center of the park is a major draw, where visitors can enjoy leisurely boat rides in rowboats or swan-shaped paddle boats. I think most of the boats cost 200 pesos for 30 minutes. Even if you're going solo or with a group, it's fun to row around the lake. Beyond the lake, the park buzzes with life. You can rent bicycles of all kinds, from single bikes to tandem bikes, and pedal along the designated paths. The open spaces are ideal for a picnic, jogging, or simply strolling through the beautiful Rose Garden and other landscaped areas. At night, the park’s ambiance transforms. A portion of Harrison Road, adjacent to the park, closes to traffic and becomes the famous Baguio Night Market. The area fills with stalls selling a vast assortment of goods, from thrifted clothes and souvenirs to local handicrafts. It's a bustling hub for bargain hunters. The air also fills with the delicious aromas of various street foods, making the night market a must-visit for a lively culinary adventure. The park's dynamic nature ensures there's something to enjoy from morning till late evening.

It was a great place where you can just stroll or sit and admire the view. There are also various activities to do in the area such as bikes, boats, and skates. You won't have to worry about food as well since there are various stalls for different kinds of food. There is also a small cafe within the area. The good thing also is that they have a public restroom.

A place we visit regularly... the kids playground is nice for energetic little ones, while the lake and its surrounding park are great for more relaxing walks. If you have time, and the energy, rent one of the 3 person bikes (yes, my wife and 2 boys fit in the bench seat just fine).

20251019 - huge park which is nice to walk in the cool weather. There is go kart which can be rented to cycle in a roundabout. In case it rains, there is also an indoor park that you can enjoy bumper car, pirate ship, carousel, skating rink. Good place to hangout during weekend.

CLAN McCRA APPROVED!!! We had a great time here. The swan paddle boat was so much fun. But I would recommend getting the boat with the dual paddle wheel. We lost a race to that one (it is fast) we were in a swan boat. YouTube videos @ClanMccraAdventures If you’re hungry go to Kubo Grill 2 blocks away.

Burnham Park is a must-visit spot in Baguio! 🌸 The atmosphere is relaxing, with beautiful gardens, a serene lake for boating, and plenty of space for picnics or biking. It’s perfect for families, couples, and anyone who wants to unwind and enjoy nature in the city.

Location & ambiance: The park sits right in the heart of Baguio City, making it easily accessible from hotels, restaurants and commercial areas. You’ll find a mixture of lush pine trees, open lawns and a central lake that gives the place a relaxed, “escape-city” feel.

Burnham Park’s Bike Park area in Baguio is a delightful way to explore the scenic grounds on two wheels. For just ₱70, you can rent a bike for 30 minutes perfect for a quick, fun ride around the pond and gardens. The path is well-paved, flat, and safe, making it ideal for families, couples, or solo travelers. Along the way, you’ll pass fragrant pine trees, vibrant flowerbeds, and people enjoying the outdoors. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, with street vendors nearby offering snacks like taho and ice cream. It’s also stroller-friendly if you’re with small kids. The rental process is straightforward just present ID, pay the fee, and you’re off! In busy periods, queues can form, but they move quickly. Whether you’re a casual rider or just want a charming way to tour Burnham Park, this bike rental experience is affordable, enjoyable, and showcases the park’s lush beauty and cheerful ambiance.

Mines View Observation Deck is a popular spot in Baguio, known for its stunning views of the town and abandoned gold and copper mines. Situated at the extreme northeast of the city, it offers breathtaking vistas of the Cordillera mountain range. Visitors can enjoy beautiful sunsets and shop for local delicacies to take home.
Mines View Deck in Baguio offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Benguet mountains and old mining town sites. It’s a must-visit spot for first-time tourists, especially for photo opportunities and souvenir shopping. The view is stunning at sunrise, and there are plenty of stalls selling local crafts, snacks, and traditional attire for fun photo ops. Though often crowded, the scenic beauty and cultural vibe make the visit worthwhile. Just be prepared for some walking and expect cooler weather. It’s a perfect stop to appreciate the natural charm and history of Baguio.
Anne ( — Google review
Very cheap ticket, about 20 pesos each I think. The view is very nice but I don’t know if I agree keeping the horses there for show. There’s souvenirs and other sellers like plants on the site. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys site seeing and it wasn’t too busy.
Oliver C — Google review
We visited Mines View Park in Baguio and it was definitely worth the stop. The highlight is the viewing deck where you get to see a wide, scenic view of the mountains and valleys. It was a bit foggy when we went, but the cool air and peaceful vibe made it enjoyable. There are plenty of souvenir shops around selling local crafts, food, and plants. It can get crowded, especially during peak hours, so mornings or weekdays are probably the best time to visit. Parking is also a bit limited, so patience is needed. What I liked most was the atmosphere. Even though it’s busy, it still feels like a classic Baguio destination that’s part of the experience. The photo opportunities with the view, traditional attire rentals, and even the dogs and horses for pictures add to the charm. Overall rating: 4/5. A must visit for the view and the Baguio experience.

It’s good to be back here! The place feels so refreshing, and the view is truly mesmerizing. There’s a ₱10 donation upon entry. Inside, you’ll find plenty of pasalubong centers, some items, like local delicacies, are quite affordable, but the shirts and souvenirs can be a bit pricey. The food, such as inihaw na daing na pusit, corn, and other snacks, is also a little overpriced, but overall, it’s still a lovely experience!
Via D — Google review
Classic spot to visit… nature landscape view over a high mountain rock with cool photo shots (as the city is less scenic nature as the decades pass). Moreover, it gets too crowded. A lot of small businesses stalls or shops for pasalubong foods, delicacies, plants, native products, and a ton of souvenirs. One can rent out Igorot wardrobe or sit on a decorated horse / pony, and get authentic photos… though limited in location as it is not allowed to go to the prime spot mentioned above wearing said costume. Getting inside has relatively very cheap entrance fee.
Warren C — Google review
Although the scenery at the view deck is nothing short of breathtaking, the place is too crowded making it difficult to take a decent solo picture. Also, most of the park is occupied by souvenir shops and plant vendors making the park look a little displeasing to the eyes.
Paolo E — Google review
One of the most popular view deck, tourist destination in Baguio. Also a spot where you can buy souvenirs, pasalubong items and small ornamentals plant and vagetable seeds.
Mark C — Google review
If you’re visiting Baguio City, Mines View Park should definitely be on top of your itinerary! The moment you step onto the viewing deck, you’ll be greeted with a breathtaking panoramic view of the Benguet mountains, lush pine forests, and old mining town below. The cool breeze, fresh mountain air, and peaceful atmosphere make it the perfect spot to unwind, take photos, and appreciate nature’s beauty. Whether you’re an early riser catching the golden sunrise or a sunset chaser soaking in the warm glow over the hills, every moment here feels magical. There are also local stalls nearby offering native crafts, souvenirs, and the famous strawberry taho—perfect for a complete Baguio experience! The best part? The entrance fee is only ₱10 per adult, making it one of the most affordable yet rewarding attractions in the city. If you’re planning a trip to Baguio, don’t miss Mines View Park! It’s a place where nature, culture, and stunning scenery come together, an experience that captures the true charm of the City of Pines.

Nestled in the northern highlands, the BenCab Museum is a haven for art enthusiasts and culture aficionados alike. Showcasing an extensive collection of artworks by Benedicto Cabrera and other esteemed Filipino artists, this 12-gallery sanctuary also features indigenous exhibits from the Cordilleras. The museum's commitment to promoting arts and preserving the environment and traditions of the region is evident throughout its displays.
One of the best museums I've been to and perhaps the best museum in the Cordillera Region. The place is also trendy and usually a lot of visitors on weekends. It has a cafe at the lower ground level adjacent to a beautiful garden.

Great place to see art from traditional to modern visual art. I wish they would provide museum tour so I can learn more about the art. I’ll be back for the eco trail :) Not accessible for wheelchair since the elevators are not working.

Explored the area with young adults. I would have soaked in more at the gazebo below the museum if we had time. You can easily finish the place in a breeze. Overall, I think the ticket price is reasonable in order to maintain the museum. There’s cafe also at the basement. Would love to see this place expand since it embodies the culture of the cordillera people.

BenCab Museum is still a must visit when in Baguio after all these years ✨❤️ there is a new exhibition too which was great. All the other pieces from different Filipino artists and Bencab if course, are so incredible. It’s P200 fee to get in. Totally worth it! The outdoor area is also great and worth seeing. Wonderful and impressive art pieces by Filipino artists 😍

What an incredible experience at the BenCab Museum today! 🤩 The art, the ambiance, and especially our fantastic tour guide made it such a memorable visit. Seriously, our guide was brilliant – super knowledgeable and made the whole walk through the museum so engaging. We learned so much! It was such a chill and inspiring walk, and honestly, the perfect backdrop for some selfies. 🤳 Just a heads-up for future visitors: be prepared for some seriously erotic art that might make you blush! 😉 My camera almost did a double-take at a few pieces. 😂 All in all, a must-visit in Tuba, Cordillera Administrative Region! #BenCabMuseum #ArtReview #TourGuideGoals #PhilippineArt #MuseumAdventures #Cordillera #SelfieSpot #EroticArtAlert #BlushWorthy #TravelPH #CultureTrip #ArtLover #HighlyRecommend 🎨🚶‍♀️✨

A bit far from the city center. Going there is easy, but going back mahirap, less taxi and jeep. Better if may sariling car. There's something about the museum that would stir your emotions and appreciation about art. I'm not a fan of galleries or museums in general, but I was in awe of some of the pieces.

A Peaceful & Artsy Escape at BenCab Museum Visited BenCab Museum earlier today with my friends and it was such a refreshing experience! The blend of nature and art is just perfect—every corner of the museum feels like a photo-worthy moment. We especially loved the serene garden area with its statues and lush greenery (yes, we had to take pics on the grass!). The museum itself showcases a mix of contemporary and indigenous Filipino art, which we found both inspiring and educational. Definitely a must-visit for anyone who appreciates culture and creativity. Museum entrance: Php200 Food price range: Php 300+ - 500 We also had lunch at their café—great food, cozy ambiance, and a stunning view of the mountains. The prices are a bit higher compared to restaurants in Baguio city proper, but the quality and atmosphere make it worth it. All in all, it was a lovely day filled with art, nature, and laughter. Highly recommended for a chill Baguio side trip!

Walking distance of 400 to 500 meters from Mines View Park. But they have a few parking slots inside. Went quite early so no queue! Strawberry jam was unavailable so tried other products I am not familiar with. Became a fan of their ube flakes and ube crinkles.

Every time we go to Baguio it is a must to visit the Good Shepherd to buy the ube jam. We go there on weekdays, that is one of the good decisions that we had because of less tourists. As of this writing, ube jam cost php 350 with limit of 2 bottles per person
Harold C — Google review
Snowballs is their best product!!!! Next is the ube jam. Can't miss this place whenever I'm in the city of pines. No lines on weekdays

Get your Ube jam here as this is the official outlet. Freshest stock at the lowest price compared to resellers. Although expect long lines during peak hours and it is recommended to go morning time. Parking is being actively managed/monitored by helpful guards and its mostly park-shop-and-go in around 15mins or so.

Me and family have been going to good shepherd when i was young. Now that i have a family of my own… we also go here for all of their products especially ube jam. But during weekends and holidays, there so many people… surprisingly when we went on a Monday and no holiday… the ube jam was unavailable. Oh note, compared to when i was younger, they now have a great view of the mine…

Parking: You will struggle on parking starting by noon time, where people starts to go here Restroom/ Washing Area: Yes they have Ambiance: Currently on renovation, thus I can say much Cleanliness: n/a Price : I can say worth the price 😅👌 Menu Range: Stocks are limited, so I recommend to ge here early in the morning. When we went here around noon, items were almost sold out Taste: good Staff: good Remarks: Lets wait for the renovation to completed and lets see if theres improvements. Many peps still choose to go in long line for thier authentic products such as ube jams. But I gotta warn you that you can only bought 3 jar (per person) due to limited stocks.
JOHN M — Google review
The place to buy the best ube jam in Baguio. They have other selections like Kalinga coffee, lengua de gato, peanut brittle (filled up inside, not just the outside), and so much more. The venue is actually very nice with a good view of the mine's view valley and a mini-park for the station of the cross. It's quite organized now given the number of people buying their goodies and plenty of available parking space. And btw, that's a rainbow tree by the men's CR outside for those who haven't seen one in person 😆

Nestled in the heart of Luzon, Mt. Pulag Protected Landscape rises majestically to 2,922 meters above sea level, making it the highest peak on the island and the third tallest in all of the Philippines. This stunning destination offers a breathtaking array of landscapes that transition from lush grasslands to enchanting mossy forests and even patches of bamboo-like plants as you approach its summit. The vibrant greens are complemented by cool mountain air, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a hidden paradise.
The landscape of Mt. Pulag is truly mesmerizing, with a remarkable transition from lush grasslands to dense mossy forests, and even patches of small bamboo-like plants near the peak. The vibrant greens of the forest, combined with the cool, crisp mountain air, create a tranquil atmosphere that makes you feel as though you’ve entered a hidden paradise. As you climb higher, you are surrounded by a blanket of clouds that often roll in, creating a mystical feeling. This mountain, often referred to as the "Playground of the Gods," offers a sense of peace and awe, allowing you to appreciate the raw beauty of nature in all its forms. Every corner of the mountain tells its own story, and it's easy to understand why so many are drawn to its serene charm. It truly is a place where you can fall in love with nature’s untouched beauty.

I've been here twice, 10 years ago but still couldn't forget how surreal and sublime the sea of clouds If you are going to take the journey pack a good set of warm clothes and warm packs.Posting some beautiful photos from Mt.Pulag. Truly a piece of heaven on earth.

I finally hiked Mt. Pulag last March 17, 2024. It was my ninth mountain so far, and this is one of the reasons why I began hiking. It's true that Mt. Pulag is incredibly beautiful in person. The feeling of witnessing the sunrise while feeling the cold simultaneously is truly unique. It's a surreal experience. I plan to hike it again, probably next year in January 2024, but this time via the Akiki trail.

A great experience to have. Ambangeg trail is great even for those beginners like me. If you want a more challenging trail there is the akiki. Great view from the summit that will make you fall in love with hiking.

I never imagined that I would be able to climb Mt. Pulag. Although it was on my bucket list, I didn’t expect that I’d get to climb it in 2025. Mt. Pulag is absolutely mesmerizing. The hike was long, but every bit of exhaustion, sweat, and hunger was worth it. Once you reach the summit, all your tiredness just disappears. Definitely worth the trip. And maybe there’ll be a revenge hike to see the Sea of Clouds.
Brigette C — Google review
We took the ambangeng trail going to mount Pulag.. luckily on that day, there was a clearing and it did not rain. Going up to the mountain has different elevations which causes different species of plants to be seen.. first one is the pine trees, then you will see the mossy forest or the rain forest. Then you will see small bamboo trees. Lastly, the grassland. Then the summit of mount Pulag. We hiked starting at 1 am. We reached the summit at 5 am. So going up and down would take 8 hours but it can also take longer or shorter depending on your speed, strength and endurance. P.S - there are many trails. The trail we took is said to be the easiest trail but it was tiring. Akiki trail takes about 10-12 hours.
Eka M — Google review
Nature has always had a captivating allure, and for those seeking to immerse themselves in its breathtaking beauty, Mt. Pulag stands as a magnificent testament to the wonders of the natural world. Located in the Cordillera mountain range of the Philippines, this majestic peak offers a truly extraordinary experience for adventurers, nature enthusiasts, and wanderers alike. With its pristine landscapes, awe-inspiring vistas, and unique ecological features, Mt. Pulag promises an unforgettable journey into the heart of nature's grandeur.

So cold!! We joined an group tour and stayed in a transient. Started hike at 2am, stranded at Station 2 for 2 hours due to bad weather... arrived at the sea of clouds viewing by 7am. Reached the summit at around 10am. Descent at 1 or 2pm. Soooo muddy at the trail that my shoes were destroyed after we departed station 2 going to the summit. I had to continue almost barefoot. 😄😄 Best hike so far and will definitely come back via Akiki trail!

It’s been around 20 years since I last visited Macho Temple, and I’m glad to see the place still looks great. The architecture and atmosphere remain beautiful, but I did notice some dangling electric wires, possibly from typhoon damage. The city view, however, isn’t quite what it used to be..... some new buildings now block parts of the once wide panorama. Still, it’s a peaceful spot with cultural charm, and worth a stop if you’re in Elyu

Ma-Cho Temple sits on the side of a hill along the main road of San Fernando, La Union. This Taoist temple is one of the tourist destinations in La Union. Going is a bit a struggle since you need to climb steep stairs to get to the main temple. It showcases the view of the West Philippine Sea if you made it on the top. Also you could pray and offer some incense for a cheap price just like the Taoist devotees do. It was a fun to be here as it gives cultural and religious experience worth remembering. Plus the appreciation of the structure of the building. Overall, a place to be added in your itinerary if you’re traveling here in La Union.

A lovely temple set on a hillside with dramatic views. A tranquil atmosphere and definitely a place to come for some stillness. You can kneel on the cushions in the floor and pray, with three incense sticks in your hands. It’s free but you can donate.

It's a very good place to visit when you go to La Union. I am not that appreciative of temples, but this is definitely one of the big temples I went to. Shorts or sleeveless are not allowed here. You should of course wear proper attire since this is a temple. According to others, it is good when you visit it during weekdays because it is crowded on weekends. Sadly, we went there on Sunday. You can take ig-worthy pictures here. You'll see the wide good view if you go up stairs.

There are some pebble-made 3D models for your liking as well. There's an entry fee of 40.00 PHP. Receipts are not issued unless there are more than 3 members. Some art pieces are for sale. Sumaguing Cave is a centuries-old cave in Sagada, known for its impressive limestone formations and challenging spelunking opportunities. To explore the expansive cave network, visitors can register at the Tourist Information Center and arrange for an accredited guide to lead them through the three levels of spelunking activities. The first level offers a two-hour exploration within Sumaguing Cave, while more adventurous options involve traversing multiple caves with longer routes.
Have you ever done spelunking before? If not, then this should be an easy yes decision if your physicality permits. The cave is deep and dark (as they should), and our guide is deeply knowledgeable and funny, which made the experience even better. There are quite a few rock formations, from a queen’s vagina to elephants, crocodiles, and turtles. Expect to get wet and dirty, and there will instances where it will be slippery. But trust the process. I further recommend to go as deep as you can, especially the tunnel portion to get the full experience. Go there early to avoid the crowd. 7am - 8am is a good time, right after breakfast. It takes around 2 hours, so you will still have the rest of the day ahead. Peep the coffins at the cave’s entrance!

I visited this cave after Go Sagada arranged transport and a guide for me. The Sumaguing Cave is the best caves in Sagada. Descending as much as 150 metres down, you'll get to see some incredible formations created by water, some of which have names corresponding to their visual, such as the bird and mother and baby elephants, the tortoise and palm tree. Near the bottom of the tour are pools where you can take a dip. The water is cool, but not too cold. Make sure you have the tourist tax and receipt from the Sagada Tourist office. I'm not sure if it's permissible to visit without a guide, but I would not want to go down without one. Awesome experience.

I visited this place with my daughter, Ezra, and it has become one of the most unforgettable memories of my life—sharing the experience together made it truly special. The journey was challenging, and now I understand the meaning behind the tagline “I survived” in Sagada. I highly recommend it to those who seek adventure and thrilling challenges. Our tour guide was highly professional, and the photos they took were absolutely superb and amazing. Sagada is a must-visit! A perfect 5 out of 5.
Romeo A — Google review
The cave is deep and easy to get wet in the last stage. Stairs are only available for the first few 100m. Be prepared with adequate equipment, the rocks are slippery. The route is difficult and dangerous. Make sure your shoes are water proof and suitable for climbing. Better to bring a cross water proof bag to store your phone. Free your hands are the key to get yourself in and out safely. Do not go without a guide. The view are amazing but rmb your safety is the highest concern.

First time trying out spelunking and I would recommend everyone to do this at least once in their life, the rock formations as you go deeper inside the cave just get better. Air is a little bit cold and so is the water so I recommend wearing sports clothing and your strongest slippers/hiking sandals for this adventure. You can also opt to explore deeper into the cave but you would have to go through tight, smaller holes. Expect to get wet and dirty. We went there at 8:30 am and got out around 10. We were the 2nd to arrive and while we were on our way back out, a lot of people were starting to come in so highly recommend to go there earlier.

This is one of the highlights of our Sagada experience. The cave is beginner friendly for those who want to experience cave spelunking. This has the biggest cave chambers among caves in Sagada. We entered the cave late in the afternoon but there are still a lot of tourists going in and out of the cave so it is safe to explore. This is a thrilling experience. Our young tour guide was very accommodating and made our cave experience easy and fun he even made gimmicks for our photos

If you’re heading to Sagada and looking for something more exhilarating than sipping mountain coffee and pondering life at sunrise, Sumaguing Cave is a must. The rock formations are the main stars—impossibly intricate, with amusing names like the “King’s Curtain,” the “Pregnant Woman,” and the “Chocolate Cake.” Your guide will point them all out with equal parts enthusiasm and dry humor. There’s also a natural underground pool you can wade through, if you're okay with water that feels like it came from a melted glacier. The trail is very slippery and muddy the tour guide will ask you to remove your shoes as well for safety. Bring a dry bag or at least protect your phone and wallet. It's kind of hard you need strength going up.

The Hanging Coffins of Sagada, located in the Philippines, are a unique and captivating sight. This ancient tradition dates back over 2000 years and is attributed to the indigenous Igorot people. The coffins are placed high on limestone cliffs as part of an elaborate burial custom. It is believed that this practice brings the deceased closer to heaven and protects their bodies from being disturbed by animals or other tribes.
A remarkable place. Our guide Arther was excellent, a local, provided loads of great information the walk is not too challenging ( we are seniors), well kept and clean. A great place to visit for a few hours. Walkable from Sagada tourist office.

The famous Hanging Coffins of Sagada are one of the region’s most iconic and culturally significant attractions. To reach the site, you’ll need to take a short trek down a well-marked trail, which is manageable even for beginners. The path offers a mix of scenic views and fascinating insights into the local traditions along the way. Though the hike requires a bit of effort, it’s definitely worth it once you arrive and witness this unique burial practice that reflects the rich heritage of the Igorot people. A must-see for anyone interested in history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes.

The hanging coffins are a really fascinating local custom. Although the most famous coffins are the ones placed on the mountain side. It's worthwhile getting a guide as you get more information about the history of this practice. The valley is also the site of caves which contain coffins. A guide will lead you to a couple.

It's a wonderful place, if you're looking for some trail vibe, because it's a lot difficult to climb some rocks and pass through some tiny passages, especially for those who is not used to... But you will be okay, just rest and go slowly. Interesting history btw
André F — Google review
You will be amazed not just by the views but also the history of townsfolk and the history of hanging coffins. Burials have different spots, this famous area is the specific spot for tourism but before you reach the spot you still need to trek and hike for 10 mins which is a bit difficult due to the steep stairs might be a hassle for others such as senior citizens and some that have problems in knees, but overall it is a worthy experience.
Akuseru P — Google review
We heard interesting stories about the hanging coffins from our tour guide. While some might not support the idea of the mandatory tour guide, I believe this is one of those tourism activities that are worth supporting because visitors can learn something straight from a local (though these info are all available online).

The price though every and solemn had such a peaceful vibe. Our tour guide was so informative. My husband and I learned so much not only of the place but of the culture of the People from Sagada. Our dog had the time of his life exploring the nature all around.

Baluarte Resort and Mini Zoo is a 100-hectare zoological park that showcases the owner's safari hunting trophies. The zoo offers a mix of free-range animals and caged or fenced animals, providing visitors with an opportunity to see wildlife up close. Additionally, there is a museum at the top of the hill displaying the owner's trophy wildlife collection. This private collection was gifted to the city, making it an interesting attraction for tourists.
Baluarte Zoo is a fun stop in Vigan, especially if you're traveling with family or kids! I’ve been here a few times, and it’s always interesting to see the animals up close—especially the giraffes, zebras, and camels. You can even feed some of them, which makes the experience really memorable. They also have animal shows, a butterfly garden, and the Safari Gallery, which is quite unique—though some might find the taxidermy displays a bit unsettling. I also appreciated the fact that entrance is free, and there are optional activities you can pay for if you want to try more. What I love most is how interactive it is—perfect for quick photos, light fun, and a relaxing side trip from the city center. However, I hope they continue improving the enclosures and cleanliness of the facilities, especially the restrooms. Overall, it’s worth a visit when you’re in Vigan. It's a mix of fun, nature, and learning—just manage your expectations, especially if you're used to larger or more modern zoos.

I stopped by this place just to see what it was about and I ended up having a truly wonderful time. However bring some water because it is incredibly hot and there's not necessarily a lot of shade while you're walking around. With that being said there is a lot of animals and my favorite part is where I could feed the camels and pet them. There is a large gallery area that has a lot of animal trophies for you to view with some information about the animals. At the end there's also some small history about mining and smelting that occurred in the area, if you have the time I would definitely stop by. But it is a little out of the way. I'd also like to add that on the outside of this place there's lots of wonderful vendors that sell lots of great food and souvenirs very cheaply.

I recently visited Baluarte Zoo in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, and had a fun-filled experience exploring the wildlife sanctuary. The zoo is home to a variety of animals, including Bengal tigers, lions, ostriches, and deer. One of the highlights is the Safari Gallery, which features taxidermied animals hunted by the zoo's founder, Chavit Singson. Pros: - Variety of Animals: The zoo has a diverse collection of animals, including exotic species. - Interactive Experiences: Visitors can feed and interact with some animals, making it a great experience for kids. - Safari Gallery: The taxidermied animal collection is impressive and educational. - Scenic Views: The zoo's grounds are well-maintained, offering great spots for photos. Cons: - Animal Welfare Concerns: Some visitors expressed concerns about animal care and living conditions. - Heat and Crowds: The sun can be intense, and crowds can be overwhelming during peak hours. - Maintenance: Some areas of the zoo appear unfinished or in need of renovation. Tips: - Visit Early: Arrive early to beat the heat and crowds. - Bring Water and Sun Protection: Stay hydrated and protected from the sun. - Choose Your Tour Wisely: Consider the package tour that suits your interests and budget. Overall, Baluarte Zoo is a great destination for families and wildlife enthusiasts. With some improvements in animal care and maintenance, it could be an even more enjoyable experience.

Cool, you can see animals up close. Warning, as the animals displayed were hunted and taxidermy. When I went there, they had a lion out for photos. It was, of course, chained, but it was falling asleep, and the taker kept waking it up for photos. It had no rest. They did let it go back to the cage after seeing that the Lion didn't want to keep awake.
Joy K — Google review
Home to Chavit Singson's collection of animals—both live and taxidermied. This zoo is quite large that they are offering shuttle rides from the entrance to various areas within the grounds. Many animals are easily visible like deers that are freely roaming around, while the carnivores and the larger animals remain safely enclosed in cages. Visitors also have the option to take photos with their famous white tiger for an additional fee. Each ticket includes a chance to feed the camels. This is a great place for kids to learn more about animals and observe them up close in action. However, this is a not a place for wildlife advocates as the zoo also houses a collection of taxidermied animals hunted by Singson himself.
Liza L — Google review
You get what you pay for. The entrance fee was 100pesos (around $7-8CAD), but unfortunately, the experience was dissapointing. Lack of animals- There were no tigers, giraffes, or other animals as advertised on various website. The washroom were not functional, there was no running water, sanitizer, or soap available. There was a lack of clear signage or directions, and several areas were closed off/under construction. We often found ourselves walking only to be told it was a dead end.
Jane G — Google review
This place has long been on my itinerary, so we made sure to stop here for a mini tour. I saw different animals I was already familiar with, but what really caught my attention was Chavit Singson’s collection of hunting trophies. The taxidermy exhibit was impressive — the elephant and hippopotamus in particular were incredibly well preserved and detailed. I truly admire his hobby, especially since I also collect animal skulls as trophies. Baluarte is owned by former Ilocos Sur Governor Luis “Chavit” Singson. Originally a private rest house and personal zoo, it was later opened to the public and became one of the top tourist spots in Vigan. The place reflects both his love for animals and his passion for big-game hunting, which is evident in the extensive taxidermy collection. The taxidermy museum inside features animals Chavit personally hunted during safaris in Africa. It’s not just about exotic animals — the zoo also houses native species and aims to promote animal conservation awareness. The resort occasionally hosts animal shows and photo opportunities with birds and reptiles for visitors. Definitely worth a stop if you're in Ilocos!
ATBP A — Google review
It's a worth it experience. The Baluarte Zoo was established by local politician and businessman, Chavit Singson. Initially it was only a rest house for Singson. The site was already known as Baluarte prior to Singson's arrival, which came from the Spanish term for "stronghold" or "fortress".[1] Singson, who cites his hunting hobby as his motive in setting up Baluarte only considered opening a zoo when his hunting trophy collection grew too big. He thought that a zoo would serve to edify it patrons aside from promoting conservation and protection of endangered species.[2] Described as an interactive wildlife sanctuary, the facility was designed and developed by Singson himself.[3]

Historic Walking Areas
Calle Crisologo in Vigan, Ilocos Sur is a picturesque cobblestoned street that offers a glimpse into the Spanish colonial era. Lined with well-preserved Spanish-style houses, this lively area is home to souvenir shops and restaurants. The absence of vehicular traffic allows visitors to leisurely stroll along the street, accompanied by horse-drawn carriages.
The moment you step into Calle Crisologo, it feels like you’ve been transported to medieval Spain. This is the iconic spot in Vigan! Packed with tourists, horse-drawn carriages, and shops—it’s a joy just to walk around. If you’re hoping to take photos without crowds, come early in the morning. But honestly, the lively atmosphere with people in the background also makes for beautiful shots.

Nestled in the heart of Vigan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Calle Crisologo stands as a testament to the city’s rich cultural heritage and historical significance. Recently, I had the pleasure of wandering through this iconic street, and it was an experience that truly transported me back in time. As I walked along the quaint cobblestone streets, I was enchante by the beautiful Spanish colonial-era buildings that line the road. Every ancestral home is a testament to the era's artistry, with intricate designs and bright colors that reflects the craftsmanship of the past. The mood is brimming with the sounds of local vendors and artisans who add a festive zest to the nostalgic atmosphere. Calle Crisologo offers more than just a glimpse into the past; it provides an authentic experience for the tourists. My visit to Calle Crisologo was a wonderful ride through the past, replete with charm and cultural heritage. It's an experience where past blends smoothly with the present, making it a true gem in the heart of the Philippines.

Wonderful place to visit if you want to experience the feeling of Spanish colonial times. The cobblestone streets and historic Spanish houses create a truly immersive atmosphere. While the kalesas (horse-drawn carriages) add to the charm, it was hard not to feel bad for the horses, who looked tired. I sincerely hope they are well cared for after working all day. I chose not to ride one.
Merry A — Google review
Visiting Calle Crisologo was a truly wonderful experience. It is somehow very high energy while also being very low-key and relaxing at the same time. The streets are beautiful, the shops are wonderful, and everyone there seems to just be happy. This includes the people working at the local restaurants and tourist booths and also the people like myself that are tourist. This is a wonderful walk morning, afternoon, and especially in the evening after the sun has gone down. The horse-drawn carriage rides are a must and it's important to just really slow down and enjoy this beautiful little piece of the Philippines.

Heritage streets, Spanish-era ancestral homes, which allows you to experience history with every step. Take a horse-drawn carriage and let the rider show you the touristic spots. It's the best way to explore the place. The rider will wait for you in every tourist attraction. Feel free to ask, and don't forget to tip well because they deserve it. Nice spot to get souvenirs and gifts from vigan for your loved ones. The place has many restaurants and resto-bars.

I have visited Calle Crisologo a few times and it's one of the reasons I fell in love with Ilocos as it features a part of Philippine history which gives a nostalgic feeling considering the cobblestones, structures and even the kalesa around. Visiting during the daytimr can be a bit uncomfortable because of the sunny weather and I've noticed that there is less to see but only a few people visiting which can be a good thing for taking photos. But, I prefer visiting at night as it becomes alive with all the people, the lights and outdoor seatings in nearby restaurants have outdoor seating making the experience wonderful. Take note though that it may be crowded and finding a place to take the right photo may be quite difficult. Parking is also limited and recently noticed pay parking signs around the area. There are also hotels nearby bit noticed how some of them may only have street parking. I suggest doing more research around the area for a better parking spot. Recently, we also noticed a lot of construction happening around the area.

Bantay Watch Tower

Sights & Landmarks
Bantay Bell Tower, a historic landmark in Vigan, Philippines, has been an iconic symbol of the town since its conversion to a church bell tower in 1857. This magnificent brick tower stands on a green hill and holds significant historical value dating back to the Spanish revolt. Adjacent to the St Augustine Parish, it is one of the oldest churches in Ilocos Sur.
My recent visit to Bantay, Vigan City, Ilocos Region, Philippines was an absolute delight and a definite highlight of my travels! The iconic Bantay Bell Tower is truly impressive. The weathered brick and commanding presence offer a wonderful glimpse into the past, making it a fantastic spot for photos and providing a strong sense of historical grandeur. The view from the top (or even just looking up at it) is captivating, and it's easy to imagine its long history overlooking the area. Directly adjacent to the bell tower, the St. Augustine Parish Church is stunning. The interior is richly decorated, particularly the altar, which is a true work of art. The atmosphere inside is very peaceful and reverent, making it a great place for quiet reflection and to appreciate religious artistry. It's a beautiful example of well-preserved Filipino religious architecture. The area around the bell tower and church is well-maintained with green spaces, inviting paths, and even some friendly local goats roaming around! This adds a unique, laid-back charm to the historical sites. Finding the "I ❤️ Bantay" sign was a fun photo opportunity, perfectly capturing the spirit of the visit. Overall, Bantay offers a beautiful blend of history, culture, and natural charm. It's clear that this is a place steeped in tradition, and the preservation of its landmarks is commendable. As someone who appreciates history and unique experiences, I found Bantay to be incredibly rewarding. It's a must-visit when you're in the Vigan City area. The locals are welcoming, and the overall atmosphere is very pleasant, making it a highly recommended addition to your itinerary for a memorable Philippine experience!

I love my visit to.Bantay Watch Tower in Vigan remains a beautiful historic landmark even though visitors can no longer climb to the top. The centuries-old brick tower still stands proudly, offering a picturesque backdrop for photos and a glimpse into the past. The surrounding gardens and the nearby church make it a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the view from below. A must-visit spot for history lovers and anyone exploring Ilocos Sur!

The Bantay Bell Tower is another must-see in the Northern Philippines, a remarkable structure from the Spanish era that still stands today. Unfortunately, it was heavily damaged during the Ilocos region's last big earthquake on July 27, 2022. We sincerely hope this historical treasure will be restored soon so that future generations can once again have the privilege of going up the tower, just as we did before the damage occurred.

This tower is absolutely amazing, however you're not allowed to get very close to it let alone go inside of it. It was badly damaged in an earthquake several years ago. However you can go and take photos and walk around the grounds in front of the Tower. There's a nearby church and there are also people that you can pay to help you take photos there. I think you should stop here and maybe if you're lucky you can get a little closer to the tower than we were able to.
Jeremy B — Google review
Seeing the Bantay Watch Tower, built in 1591, reminded me of Candi Brahu, a Buddhist temple located in Beijijong Village, Trowulan District, Mojokerto Regency, East Java, Indonesia. Candi Brahu was built in the 14th century AD. Because of the similarities in appearance between Candi Brahu and Bantay Tower, I visited this place. It is clear that Bantay Tower needs maintenance and perhaps reinforcement, as its structure appears fragile. To give cultural heritage lovers an idea, I have also included a photo of Candi Brahu.

Originally built as a watchtower to guard the town against pirates during the Spanish colonial period, the Bantay Watch Tower has now become an iconic landmark of Vigan. There’s no entrance fee, though donations are appreciated. Visitors can take photos with the bell tower as a picturesque backdrop. However, the tower itself has been closed to the public since parts of it were damaged during the 2022 earthquake.

Explore the historic Bantay Watchtower in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, a must-see Spanish colonial gem. Established in 1591, this iconic tower offers a glimpse into the past, guarding against pirates during the Spanish era... Bantay Watchtower as a Lookout for Invading Pirates The Bantay Watchtower, or Bantay Belfry, is located in a little town called Bantay 10 minutes from Vigan City. Built in 1591, it once served as a watchtower for the Spanish colonists as a defense against the potential risk of invading pirates. The word 'bantay' means 'guard' in Tagalog; and even though the Bantay Watchtower was turned into a bell tower by the nearby church in 1857, it still was used as a watchtower during the two World Wars due to its strategic location.

You can usually find something that brings you back in time that will make you smile. A place that celebrates former President Marcos and his relationship with his wife. I was able to learn quite a lot about his life and how at an early age it was surrounded in controversy. It seems he was a great mind and was able to do some good things for the Philippines. Though at what cost? Take what you see here with a grain of salt. Obviously it's from the narrative of the family.

Of course, it also tells his love story with former first lady Imelda Marcos. Entrance fee is P50. His body used to be on display here before it was buried now in the Libinbgan ng mga Bayani in Taguig. I think its a nice stop if you are in Batac or are very interested with the former president, but I would not go out of my way to see it or if you dislike the fomer president.

Nestled in the heart of Paoay, Ilocos Norte, the San Agustin Church of Paoay is a stunning testament to Baroque architecture that dates back to 1710. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is renowned for its unique earthquake-barque style, featuring an impressive belfry and robust brick reinforcements.
Paoay Church (St. Augustine Church) – Ilocos Norte Visiting Paoay Church last April was a dream come true. Standing before this magnificent structure was both breathtaking and deeply fulfilling. It’s not just one of the best churches I’ve been to—it’s a national treasure that lives up to every expectation. Known officially as the Church of Saint Augustine, Paoay Church is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a prime example of Earthquake Baroque architecture. Construction began in 1694 and was completed in 1710. Its massive, tapering buttresses—some more than a meter thick—were designed to help the church withstand earthquakes, making it both an architectural and engineering marvel of its time. The exterior is dramatic and fortress-like, drawing you in with its centuries-old charm. Inside, the atmosphere is more austere and peaceful, reflecting the simplicity and spirituality of Augustinian design. Many historical artifacts and preserved details from the Spanish colonial era can be seen, making it feel like you’re walking through a living museum of faith and history. One small downside is the parking situation—we had some difficulty finding a proper spot for the van we rented, especially with the limited maneuvering space around the church. If you’re traveling in a larger vehicle, it’s best to arrive early or prepare for a bit of patience. Still, the awe-inspiring presence of the church easily overshadows any minor inconvenience. From its rich heritage to the feeling of reverence it evokes, Paoay Church is more than just a destination—it’s an experience deeply rooted in Filipino identity and devotion.

We arrived in Paoay early in the morning, and wow! the church and the bell tower looked stunning with the sunrise in the background. The soft golden light made everything look even more historic and peaceful. We were not able to go in the middle of the "plaza" because the locals are setting up the place for an event maybe. There were already a lot of tourists. Everyone was just taking in the view, snapping photos, and enjoying the morning vibe. Paoay is a great stop if you love historical landmarks and beautiful architecture.

The San Agustin Church of Paoay, more popularly known as Paoay Church, is an outstanding example of Baroque architecture in the Philippines. Its massive structure, strengthened by large buttresses, reflects both historical artistry and engineering ingenuity. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the church stands as a testament to faith, culture, and resilience. Visiting the church offers not only a spiritual experience but also an appreciation of Philippine heritage.

❤️❤️❤️ majestic looking because of huge buttresses and an open space without obstructions. I just hope they keep its doors open for interior public viewing anytime for tourists. One of the four baroque churches in the Philippines included in UNESCO Heritage.

Visiting Paoay Church is like stepping into history—its massive coral-stone façade, grand buttresses, and separate three-story bell tower evoke awe at first sight. Built in 1710, this UNESCO World Heritage Site stands as the Philippines’ premier example of Earthquake Baroque architecture, fortified with 24 massive buttresses that shield it from seismic upheavals.
