Very famous temple of Vishnu. You can expect a crowd here. On regular days not much crowd. On festival days we may need to wait for anywhere between 15 and 30 minutes.

I visited Oppiliappan temple two days ago . Not too crowded and you can stand in front of HIM for a long time . The aura is great No separate Sannidhi for Thayar . The temple is small and variety of puja options are available. The temple is one of the Divyadesams. Thirumangai Alwar and nammalwar have sung pasurams on this Perumal . Markandeyar is also there in the garbagriham Thayar is in sitting posture . In kalyana thirukolam Abhishekam is done daily if there are bookings for it . It is absolute bliss to have darshan of HiS abhishekam

Visited Oppaliappa Temple on 1st Nov and was impressed by its cleanliness and maintenance. Devotees can purchase salt, jaggery, and pepper to offer to the deity. The Kalyani/Pushkarni was particularly well-maintained. A note to fellow devotees: the prasadam served at the temple is saltless, as per the deity's tradition. Let's all make an effort to cherish and not waste this sacred offering 🙏.

Kumbakonam is basically a temple city. You can see many temples there and this Adi kumbheshwar Kovil is one of the most important temples in the city. When I went, they were doing some renovation work inside, so I couldn’t take in the full vibe of the place. But the highlight? The temple elephant! It’s right there, and people love getting blessings from it—it’s a sweet experience to hang out with that gentle giant. Coming in through the main entrance, you’ll notice a long corridor flanked by rows of quirky shops. They’re brimming with brass, bronze, copper kitchenware—great bargains if you're into traditional metal utensils. It really gives off the feel of old-school marketplace charm right before you step into the temple.

The famous Kumbakonam temple named after Aathi kumbedwara which idol is Lord Siva.. The temple have big gopurams and construction workds were happening inside..The gopuram and some internal pillars were under maintenance or construction of something as they wer covered and couldn't see properly.. They have an elephant for giving tribute and elephant will bless you with trunk.. Hope to see the full temple after maintenance soon..

Nice temple kept very clean. Went on a Sunday but was not crowded. Big temple. There's also one elephant just inside the temple giving blessings of money handled by the elephant keepers. Parking is around the temple on the road. Didn't find any place to keep footwear

Pros:- This is one of the main temple in darasuram. The best place to get a peaceful environment. 2 big temples are located here one of lord Shiva and devi . The temple is one of the marvellous structure. Each pillars has a unique story written in it. The place is ao clean and neat. A lot of parking facilities for 2 and 4 wheeler as well as big vehicles like bus , tempo traveller etc. This place has a big garden where people can sit and njoy with the family. Auto facilities are available to this place as it not so far from the city. No ticket charge for this place. Cons:- No cons. Overall one of the temple which people should visit while coming to Kumbakonam or Thanjavur. The structures are unique and marvellous, very hard to see this type of structure. Built by Rajaraja Chola II in the 12th century, it’s smaller than the Brihadeeswarar Temple at Thanjavur, but the level of intricate detail here is truly astonishing. Every stone carving feels alive — from delicate dancers and musicians to mythological stories sculpted with precision. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, worshipped here as Airavatesvara, named after Airavata, the white elephant of Indra, who is believed to have worshipped Shiva at this site. The highlight is the stone chariot-shaped front mandapa and the musical steps that produce notes when tapped — a brilliant example of Chola craftsmanship and engineering. The temple complex is serene, rarely crowded, and well-maintained by the ASI, making it a perfect place to explore history in peace. Lord Chandran parigaram Sthalam! The main deity is Lord Kailyasanathar and Amman. The temple is very neat and clean with a pavement full of flowering plants. The place name is Thingalur and many come on Mondays especially. A very small and beautiful village where you can hear peacocks roaming around and their sounds. The temple has a beautiful pond as well. Small temple and it's very powerful, pooja items sold by the temple and lamps are also available. Small book stall as well. Usually lord abisegam happens on Mondays twice, one is 6-7am and another is 9-10am. So the 1hr archanai will be stopped. Plan it accordingly on Mondays. Temple timings attached in the picture below. Parking available huge space. Lord Chandran and Kailyasanathar bless us all gracefully 🙏

A small and homely temple located in a peaceful village. The place is clean and well maintained, and the people are humble and decent. Architecturally, there isn’t much to see, but it’s definitely recommended for those wishing to pacify the Moon in their horoscope. Archana is performed in your name for just ₹10 per person. You can also light 10 lamps for ₹50—coupons are available at the entrance counter. Clean toilets are conveniently located next to the temple.

Part of the same ghat section, this place doesn't get as many visitors as its famous counterpart coutrallam. But the bathing experience is similar and more fun than at coutrallam owing to less crowd. The less crowd is due to the location of the place. This needs a entry permit (paid on arrival), and there is a one-way path to the falls from the gate (a distance of ~5KM). But it's worth the time spent in travel as you can bathe to heart's content. Downside is that there are no eateries nearby (nearest eatery is ~10KM away).

When in trichy, you can go to this temple but please make sure you are fit to climb around 300 steps. If you have any knee pain or foot pain, please skip this temple. Visit this temple only by taking an auto as its located in a very chaotic and busy lanes of the market area.

Think about 400 steps but worth it for the view when you get to the top, shoes are not allowed, plenty of things to see along the way and rest if get tired, if unfit go when it is cooler.

A very huge and beautiful Shiva temple..the paintings on walls are incredible and one of the best dipicting the stories around the temple significance..one has to see those painting in live...color full paintings..one of the best and must place to visit in trichy, need to climb around 200 steps visit the temple. The view from the top of the hill is amazing and incredible. The entire trichy city can be viewed and the river kaveri can be viewed and the banks of river kaveri.

A padal Petra sthalm. This temple is so famous in the name of Utchi Pillayar temple. When you step up to Utchi Pillayar temple this Thayumanavar (shiva) temple, Mouna madam temple, Meenakshi Sundreshwarer temple, many small temple (sculpture) and also Pallava caves is on this route. Big step around 600 is there. All temple are well maintained. You should have to spend about 3 hours to get your dharsan and photos.

This temple in Srirangam is around 2 kms from the more famous Ranganatha temple. It is dedicated to Jambukeshwarar (Shiva) and Akhilandeswari (Parvathi). Legend has it that Parvathi prayed in the Jambu forrest and created a lingam made of water from Kaveri river. This temple is one of the pancha bhoota sthalams, signifying water as its element. As one enters one of the gopurams, one gets the feeling that the temple is relatively small with an open space, pond and gardens. When one goes further inside, the massive enclosure in which the temple stands reveals itself. The precincts are beautiful, some of them with many ornate pillars. The sanctum of the temple is dedicated to Lord Jambukeshwarar and is a small space where not more than 5 people can stand at a time. It is a beautiful structure and a must visit for anyone visiting Srirangam/Trichy along with the Ranganatha temple. We did not see any designated parking around the temple and had to park on one of the lanes in the vicinity.

Divine Evening Visit to Jambukeshwara Temple We visited the Jambukeshwara Temple in the evening, and it was a serene and peaceful experience. This temple represents the Jala Lingam (water element) among the five Panchabootha Lingas, and it was our final stop to complete the sacred journey of all five. The temple’s architecture is beautiful, and the spiritual energy inside is truly calming. The approach roads are quite narrow, but there is sufficient parking space near the temple. Inside, we were delighted to see the temple elephant, which added to the traditional and sacred atmosphere. The priests were polite and helpful, and the overall experience was memorable and spiritually fulfilling — highly recommended for anyone visiting Trichy!

A simple yet beautiful Shiva shrine surrounded by an awe-inspiring enclosure of mandapams and pathways. The entrance, with the Nandi Mandapam and its four gigantic pillars, is among the most magnificent in any South Indian temple. Visit very much recommended. There is a new rule of no photography but you can carry your cames in the temple.

I found the temple to be not just a religious site, but a space where history, mythology, and spiritual energy merge.

Such a worthy visit. Best temple to visit if you love ancient architecture. Best time to visit will be early in the morning and early in the evening before the temple closes, to avoid crowd. I was not able to get a Darshan because of the long que, even though it was disappointing, the exploration into the architecture made me compensate.

Srirangam is a magnificent temple with a vast, beautifully maintained complex. The divine idol of Anantha Shayana Vishnu in the main sanctum is truly awe-inspiring. Don’t miss the Lakshmi and Garuda shrines. The temple is very clean and well-managed. You can also opt for the ₹500 official ticket for direct darshan.

One of the two brahma temples in India. A must visit in Trichy. The historical significance makes this temple a place one should never miss when they are on a pilgrimage. There is a beautiful outdoor spaces surrounding the temple that lets you relax and meditate.

A nice and peaceful temple located out of the way in Tirupattur in Trichy. Unlike the more commercial temples, this one wasn't crowded. This is actually a Shiva temple with a special shrine dedicated to Brahma. Legend has it that after Shiva cursed Brahma that he wouldn't be worshipped, Brahma did severe penance at the location of this temple. Shiva pleased, allowed Brahma to have a shrine here. So Brahma apparently changed his destiny, which is what many of the devotees here aim to do. Various types of poojas are done here and there is a big board outside the temple listing how many deepams to be lit depending on what desire needs to be fulfilled, including 'blessing for the birth of a son' :) There are many monkeys in the area so be careful with any eatables. There are 12 shiva lingams in a garden next to the temple. These are situated near a tank called the Brahma Theertam. We visited in the evening, there were many bats inside the shrines containing the lingams. Please be careful if you want to step inside. There is also a statue of sage Patanjali in the temple.

Brahma is cursed without any shrine or devotees because her lied having seen the head of Shiva. Well maintained temple but cleanliness needs a lot to be improved. Presiding deity Lord Brahmapureeswarar is suyambu here and is seen slightly slanted. HIS consort Goddess Brahmasampath Gauri is housed separately in standing posture facing east. Lord Brahma worshipped 12 Lingams here including moolavar - devotees can see some near Brahma theertham and some in the prakaaram as well. Not a falls person but this made me one. It was majestic, spectacular and huge. We had to climb down steep steps of 1100 steps to get down there. Getting up again might be difficult. But it's worth the trip. Literally the best falls in Tamil Nadu imo.

The steps can be slippery, so wearing “good trekking shoes” is a must. There are a few resting spots along the way, but be prepared for a strenuous workout. If you’re not used to long treks, take it slow and carry enough water. Once you reach the bottom, the sight of the “powerful waterfall” makes every step worth it! The pool at the base is perfect for a refreshing dip, though the currents can be strong, so caution is needed. The untouched beauty of the place makes it feel like a secret escape from the world. Tips for future visitors: ✅ Start early to avoid the midday heat. ✅ Carry snacks, water, and a change of clothes. ✅ Wear “non-slip shoes” the steps can be treacherous. ✅ If you have knee or mobility issues, reconsider the trek. The journey back up is even harder, so pace yourself. But honestly, the sheer beauty of Aagaya Gangai makes the struggle worthwhile. This temple is of a large sized boon giving Anjaneya in standing posture. Here Anjaneya with folded hands, is facing the sannidhi of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha across the road. Regular Pujas and Thirumanjanams are held to this deity by aspiring devotees - including betel leaves mala, sandal paste, white butter, vadamala etc. A must visit temple in Namakkal & a popular Parihara sthalam.

The unique part is that it’s a drive-in temple, you can take your vehicle inside and go around for darshan. Very peaceful, clean, and well maintained with a beautiful hill view.”

The best place for one day trip from bangalore. It’s full of thrilling and I have visited many times . But this time I didn’t get chance to go inside Bec water was too much so they had closed it . Best place to visit with family and friends.

It is a fantastic ride of around one and a half hours from bangalore. Marvelous road with smart turns and curves. Bikers can enjoy it. Stay is not so cheap but can be negotiated. Don't go for oil massage if you are alone as yours belongings can be stolen.

Visited Barachukki Falls 💦 over the weekend and had a really nice experience! ☀️ Though the sun was shining bright on top of our heads, the view of the falls was totally worth it — such a stunning sight! 🌈 The safety measures were good, and everything was quite well-managed despite the weekend crowd. 👏 There’s free parking 🅿️, and plenty of food stalls 🍢🥤 to grab a quick bite or drink. You’ll also find lots of monkeys 🐒, so keep your snacks safe! 😅 Horse rides 🐎 are available, adding a bit of fun for kids and families. Plus, there’s an instant photography option 📸 where you can get your pictures printed on the spot — a great souvenir to take home! It was a bit crowded since we visited on a weekend, but overall it’s a beautiful and refreshing spot 💧 to relax and enjoy nature with family and friends. 🌿✨

It's a very quiet and calm place to visit with family and friends and enjoy the day. Best time to visit during October to December. During rainy season also it will be good but when it's too much rainy can't enjoy as expected. At the main entry they collect entry charge for vehicle and at the entry of falls again they collect entry charges of 10 each per head. They are just collecting the entry fees but not improved the place. At the main entry they have mentioned as plastic free zone and near the falls area they have given permission to stalls where we can find Plastics dumped everywhere. No cleanliness maintained near falls. Also people and tourists who visit here are careless and dump and throw plastic where all they find place. Stalls should be evacuated from the falls area and keep the area neat and clean. Some higher officials with police protection and security visit the place and are least bothered about the surrounding nature and just get their family selfie and photos and just get out from their. If they show some interest and advice the personnel there to keep the surroundings clean then it would be more beautiful to visit the falls area.

I have visited Barachukki falls on Sunday, 3rd Aug’25. It was an amazing experience. The waterfall massive, magnificent and spectacular. It is located around 125kms from Bangalore and it takes around 2.5 hours to reach there. Place is usually much crowded on weekends and on public holiday. Best time to visit: July to September (based on monsoon season). Morning hours preferred so that place is not fully crowded. Tickets are available at front gate. Paid car parking space is available nearby.

Great falls to visit on a weekday with no crowds, due extended monsoons the falls are full even at the end of Oct. Has good parking and some what clean wash paid rooms. Good views from the lower view point requiring few steps. One can spend about 30 min to enjoy the falls and take some pictures. Closer to the main gate behind the Darga, there are Gaganchukki falls view from a different, parking is available but there is no good view point as the place is barricaded with steel mesh. The road after turning from NH 948 is pot holed at many places. The stone pillars old bridge is an ancient engineering work, stop here for few minutes to enjoy the architecture of the bridge built on stone columns. Cauvery Water flowing on rock beds here is a very beautiful sight to watch for long.

Located near Shivanasamudra (around 130 km from Bengaluru), this place is perfect for a short road trip surrounded by greenery, small villages, and scenic countryside views. The drive itself feels refreshing, but the real magic begins once you reach the falls. The waterfall is massive and mesmerizing, with water gushing down rocky cliffs into a wide pool below. The mist, the roar of the falls, and the cool breeze create an incredibly peaceful and energizing vibe — truly nature at its best. You also get some great viewpoints for photography and relaxation. We decided to go closer to the falls, and honestly, that turned into a mini adventure! We went through a jungle trail to reach the water — it was thrilling but also quite risky, especially during summer when the rocks are dry, uneven, and slippery. It’s definitely not recommended unless you’re experienced and careful. Still, that close view of the powerful cascade was absolutely worth it! During monsoon, the waterfall is even more spectacular — full flow, mist everywhere, and a magical atmosphere. However, parking and crowd management could be better, especially on weekends, so visiting early morning or on a weekday is ideal for a peaceful experience. Overall, Bharachukki Falls is a must-visit if you love nature, road trips, and scenic beauty — just respect the terrain, stay safe, and let the waterfall do its magic. 💧✨

Directions: 133 kms from Bengaluru and 78 kms from Mysore, on the state highway, Maddur - Kollegala Road. iii. Plenty of seating place at different levels, socialise and photograph. iv. Closeby restaurant, souvenirs shopping available.

Breathtakingly beautiful. It takes you a while to get there but it's so worth it. I went on Independence day so there was a lot of crowd there so I would suggest going during offseason to peacefully listen to gushing sound of the falls. The viewing area is vast and there is enough space to accommodate a lot of people, you just have to be careful of the crowds there. Plenty of roadside food options too. Definitely worth a trip.

It's a beautiful place it visit specially during monsoon season when the water is released from KRS dam. The beauty of this place can't be expressed in words you need to come n experience by yourself. The flow of water from the rocks is just like milk flowing through it, that's the beauty of this place. I suggest this place for a one day trip. Though the government is taking entry fees the road to such beautiful place is in worst condition from many years, since many people visit this place they should develop proper road to here.

One of the best One day trip place to visit if you are in Bangalore. July to August perfect time to catch hold of Cauvery water falling from the hill rocks. Roads are very nice, it takes approximately 2.5 hours from Bangalore. If someone starts at 6am. Breakfast can be planned on Kanakapura road side restaurants and easily by 9am you will reach the spot. Going early avoid entry and exit traffic at the spot. Big land with Ample parking available near the falls, don't go crossing the parking ground since it's dead end it will be difficult to get U turn done, only bike parking can be done there. Govt has constructed the view points in 3 to 4 spots in a step wise manner for us to view the falls from different angles. Suggest to take umbrella since this is raining season. You get snacks and juice there. Mobile signal is weak here, UPI payment can be difficult better to carry cash.

I visited in the second week of July, and it was truly great to witness the waterfall in full flow. There is ample parking available, which is very convenient. Please note that you cannot go close to the waterfall or touch the water for safety reasons. This is a must-visit place for a one-day trip from Bangalore.

Overall a nice experience. It's a day trip as this place is quite far off from the Bangalore main city. The ticket price has reimbursement via Wine Tour and Tastings! They could have allowed us more time in the Vineyards to explore the grapes. Overall nice experience! The guided tour costs 600 per head.

Good place for a day outing about 80 Kms frm bangalore (HSR Layout). Cover charge now increased to 800/ person from earlier Rs. 600/ person. Note that this can be set off against purchases made / services taken ( wine tour , wine tasting). Good selection of wine (red & white) including their upmarket ranges - Source & Rasa which otherwise is not usually found in shops in Bnglr. The winetasting & tour guide Tanish was very courteous & helpful apart from being knowledgable about most things to do with wine. We tasted about 6 different wine varieties, 2 sparkling, 2 red & 2 whites be prepared for a slightly warm weather at chanapatna as compared to Bamgalore. Given the long weekend, we didnt face much of traffic heading out or returning to bangalore. Food was ok & given the price charges nothing much to talk about... we ordered the nachos, pasta, few indian dishes... paid close to 3k for 4 pax.

A decent experience with brief tour on wine making process and vineyards. Best time to visit is before March as per the crew, as harvest time was complete before we visited and not much grapes were in the vineyards. Explanation and wine tasting were good. Many places for photoshoot. They have grape stomping as well. Overall, a half day experience with fun away from the daily chores. Not much offers (except nominal discounts in bulk purchase) on their wines. It could be improved with more interactive and entertaining tour and tasting.

Good place if you are a wine 🍷 lover and want to drive down to outskirts for a change. Ambience - Good for a day outing, has ample parking space. Paid Wine tour, wine shop and other souvenirs sold at their store. Good place to just relax take some funky pictures and enjoy the silence. Service - Is good, kept place clean and green 💚. Kitchen - While you need to try 🍷 and 🧀 here there are other options of multi cuisine food also served. Place is a little over priced but for a day to just beat the monotony good place to relax and have some decent food and drinks.

It was very interesting and enjoyable to learn how wine is made. This is a small vineyard though but it was pretty. The wine tasting was great and there's a gift shop too. The restaurant inside is very bad though, the food tasted like nothing, there were many houseflies and when asked to clean they did the bare minimum and just shrugged their shoulders. So overall if you visit here just buy a bottle of wine from their shop and go somewhere else to dine, this place isn't worth it that way. I am reducing 2 stars just for the worst dining experience I've ever had

The vineyard is quite small, so there isn’t much to explore. It’s fine to stop by if it’s along your route, but not really worth a full-day visit. There’s not much to do, and while the weekday entry fee is reasonable, weekends feel overpriced. Food is also on the expensive side, and the vineyard tour requires an additional payment (though part of it is adjusted against the entry pass).

We booked tickets for Domaine Sula Vineyard at ₹600 each. ₹200 covered the vineyard and factory tour, and ₹400 was for optional wine tasting, which could also be redeemed for food or wine. The tour lasted around 15-20 minutes, and the guide explained everything well. However, we were disappointed to find out that there were no grapes in the vineyard since all the grapes had already been harvested. It was quite a letdown. We felt they should have clearly mentioned the grape season on their website or while booking, so visitors would know what to expect. During the tour, the guide explained the process of how the grapes are grown and harvested over the months. The wine tasting session was good— we tasted six different wines, and the guide explained their taste, smell, and ingredients. This helped us choose which wine to purchase. Overall, it was an average experience. If we had known about the grape season and the overall experience beforehand, we wouldn’t have travelled over 100 km just for this.

Standing before this 12th-century Hoysala masterpiece, I felt like I was walking inside a living scripture. Every inch of this temple carved from soapstone carries a story… scenes from the Ramayana, Lord Vishnu’s divine forms, dancers, warriors, celestial beings — all frozen in time yet so alive to the heart. It’s humbling to think that centuries ago, in golden evenings lit by countless diyas and moonlight, this temple must have shimmered like a dream. I could almost imagine the hymns in the air, the fragrance of incense, and devotees circling the temple with faith as unshakeable as the stone beneath their feet. If only stones could speak. What moved me even more is its resilience. Shri Chennakeshava Swamy Temple is about an hour’s scooter ride from Mysore, and the journey itself is beautiful, passing through the South Indian countryside. This 13th-century UNESCO temple isn’t very large, but it’s definitely worth a visit. You can easily spend around an hour exploring the carvings and atmosphere, and the entry fee is only about 3 USD (parking not included). It was calm and quiet when I went (especially during the monsoon season), which made it a perfect place for silence, reflection, and of course some beautiful photos. You can hire a guide if you’d like, but with a bit of AI assistance for dates and background info, I felt I got along just fine — and honestly, how many numbers and years do we really remember? If you do decide on a guide, read up beforehand about realistic fees and tipping. Dating back to the 12th century, the temple’s current magnificence is largely due to the patronage of the Wodeyar royal family, who adopted the Goddess as their tutelary deity. The temple is a stellar example of Dravidian architecture, instantly recognizable by its towering, seven-tiered Gopuram (entrance tower), which is adorned with intricate carvings and topped with seven golden Kalashas. The silver-plated entrance doors and the peaceful atmosphere inside the Navaranga Hall truly convey a sense of ancient, royal devotion. The location itself, nearly 3,500 feet above sea level, is captivating. The drive up the hill is scenic, and the summit offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire city of Mysuru. Visited the Chamundeshwari Temple on Nov 1st during Rajyotsava— the darshan itself was truly divine and powerful, you can really feel the energy of the goddess. However, the overall experience was quite stressful. The temple gets extremely crowded, especially on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Even with a VIP pass, we had to wait for hours in the queue. Entry tickets cost ₹30 for general darshan and ₹100 for special darshan, but everything is cash only. Crowd management was poor, with no separate lines for senior citizens, families with small kids, or differently-abled devotees. It was hard to stand for long, and the pushing made it uncomfortable. The staff were not very polite, and there was a lot of confusion inside. Parking was also badly managed, adding to the frustration.Govt really need to improve crowd management and cleanliness of Chamundi devi temple. On the positive side, the temple’s divine atmosphere, architecture, and the powerful darshan of Chamundeshwari Devi make it worth visiting at least once. The authorities just need to improve arrangements so devotees can experience peace along with devotion.

Temple is good it is on the chamundi hill, here you can see devi chamundi statue inside the temple by puchasing the ticket (general ticket- 30 Rupess, VIP Datshan- 100 Rupess) per person. You can visit nandi statue which is nearby to the temple nearly 300 steps down. You can have a picture with most famous Mahisasura statue. Near the mahisasura statue only you can get the bus also to enter in the city again. Don't forget to take picture here from the hill top from where you can see the whoe Mysore city.
