Amazing experience among the fall leaf colors and perfect weather. The public gardens are exceptional given Halifax’s size, and well worth the visit. While the dahlia garden was a highlight, the entire grounds and even the little coffee shop were all very pleasant to walk around and check out. Highly, highly recommend a stroll through the gardens when you’re in downtown Halifax.
A Peaceful Oasis in the Heart of the Halifax. This public garden is truly a hidden gem! The landscaping is beautifully done with vibrant flowers, shady trees, and well-kept paths that make walking around a pleasure. It’s a perfect spot to unwind, enjoy a quiet moment, or take photos. There are plenty of benches, clean washrooms, and even areas for kids to explore safely. I loved how peaceful and clean everything was—clearly very well cared for. A must-visit if you’re looking for a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle!

Beautiful free public park with public restrooms. Great spot for engagement, wedding, and grad photos. There are ties and dedications to various kings and queens. There are many different spots to sit and enjoy the beauty around you. There are benches, lakes, fountains, and plenty of green lawn space. Worth a visit when you are in town for a nice stroll or maybe even picnic.
Beautiful gardens within the city. Very nicely maintained gardens with a variety of different plants, flowers, and trees. Several different small ponds with wandering paths through the grounds. They had a special exhibit of dahlia flowers with multiple varieties planted and a few informational signs posted about the dahlias. The best part was that there was a coffee shop/cafe within the garden grounds and public restroom facilities.
Lovely lovely gardens for a walk or coffee or just to sit for a bit. The Victorian style makes for a more unique stroll than your standard park—definitely worth a visit. Free music at the bandstand some afternoons/evenings too!

I’m glad there’s a museum like this. For those who had family enter Canada through the Halifax port, I would expect that this museum would be a wonderful connection point and learning experience for them. Mostly European stories were represented here, which I enjoyed learning about, however as a Filipino-Canadian, there wasn’t much representation or storytelling connected to my culture. Happy for those cultures represented but for me, this museum was just okay.
Very impressive museum- a lot of heart and soul went into creating this place I’m sure! I enjoyed looking at all the artifacts and learning about the stories of immigrants throughout the years. The employees were all quite friendly, especially a volunteer who shared some knowledge with us. I think everyone should go to Pier 21 at least once, it will leave you with a new perspective and a better appreciation for the people who left everything to start a new life here.

Pier 21 is exceptionally well done — the layout is thoughtful, the exhibits are engaging, and the entire space is welcoming and kid-friendly. The staff were attentive, the facilities were clean, and admission was free on Canada Day, which made it even more accessible.
As someone with Dutch heritage, I found the experience both eye-opening and deeply moving. It offered powerful insights into the immigrant journey, and I left with a greater appreciation for the courage and resilience of those who came before us.
Fantastic experience of Canada’s immigration history in the mid-20th century. We went with our two kids (13 and 10) and weren’t sure how long they would want to stay. In the end we stayed 2 hours and only left because the museum was closing. The tour was very good and the short documentary very moving. There are so many interactive exhibits and the staff were so helpful.
I love reading about history especially about how my ancestors arrived here by ship. There are guided tours that lasts 20 followed by a 22 minute film. Very interesting. Both my grandparents and my dad immigrated to Canada.
Museum was interesting but seemed expensive once we got thru the exhibits. There were interesting things to see but felt somewhat limited for the cost of admission. We came to Halifax on a cruise, so we were docked literally right next door. We docked at Pier 22 and the museum is at Pier 21. The buildings share a wall and there is a doorway to access the museum from the cruise poetry shops area. So if you are visiting via cruise ship, the location is excellent.
If you are at all interested, or connected to relatives coming through this port, you have to visit.
The guided tour gives many insights into the immigration process, and a lot of personal stories of those who have visited the museum.
An onsite research room can give some details of those who have come through the port as well.

Visiting the Halifax Citadel Historic Site was is indeed memorable one! From the moment we entered, we were amazed by how beautifully the place is preserved and how welcoming the staff were. The soldiers in their traditional uniforms made us feel like we were stepping back in time — it was such a unique and memorable experience.
We loved exploring the old fort, walking through the tunnels, and learning about the history behind it all. The noon gun firing was incredible to witness — it gave us goosebumps! The view of the city and harbour from the top is absolutely stunning, especially on a clear day.
It was a great educational and family-friendly experience. We left with a deeper appreciation for Canada’s history and so many beautiful memories. I highly recommend visiting the Halifax Citadel if you’re in the area — it’s definitely worth your time!

Fascinating historic site with great views and a well-preserved fort. The World War museum on the second floor is especially interesting — full of artifacts, stories, and a well-done exhibition. A great piece of history and a must-visit spot to learn more about Halifax’s past while enjoying the scenery.
A very nice historical site to spend an afternoon wandering around and soaking up history. A number of historical actors dressed in period costume are more than willing to answer questions and let you what life was like back in the 1800's. They fire the noon day gun, and fire off the random musket to keep things interesting.
The Citadel is a must visit for anyone at Halifax. There are many guided tours suited for groups of all types. I would recommend the one by the Soldier's Wife that starts around 11am and ends with the noon Cannon firing. It was informative, engaging and fun. Enjoy.
We rode the e bikes up the hill and around the citadel. It was a very cool way to see the city from a high viewpoint 360° viewing all the way around as the road makes you do a big circle, super cool place to visit, you can walk. You can bike, you can drive. You can sit on the hill and take in the sunset. Super cool Place in the city.

Halifax Waterfront is a bustling hub with a working port and one of the world's longest downtown boardwalks, stretching approximately 3km. Wow! The Halifax waterfront is amazing! Although I was born and spent half my life in this area, I have been living outside of Canada for a number of years. Last Saturday was the first time I spent any significant time on the waterfront. Loved the chairs and hammocks sprinkled throughout the waterfront. So many new beautiful restaurants, shops, art! My cousin and I had the absolute best day/evening acting like a couple of tourists!

Halifax had a vision and they delivered. The boardwalk has abundant adirondacks and even some hammocks to relax and enjoy the waterfront. It is spacious so even though there is a lot of foot traffic it doesn’t feel crowded. There is a playground for the kids. Lots of food options and shops. Fascinating combination of history, industry and leisure. Easily spent the better part of the day here
Amazing spot for a walk if you're around downtown. It was the first time I see a starfish as well there.. They were quite many. There's a couple of cute shops nearby as well to buy souvenirs from.
Nice place to walk and explore, even off-season. Plenty of spots to eat, buy souvenirs, and shop while enjoying the water views. Peaceful atmosphere and great for a relaxing stroll along the harbour.
Surprisingly clean when we were there .. which was morning. So many people out and about enjoying the spaces, food services and little pop-up kiosks. Beautiful artworks dotted the way. Lots of space for kids to play and enjoy. Ample seating. Public washrooms available. I didn't use any so I have no idea how well maintained they are.
The waterfront is such a beautiful and relaxing place to visit. The view of the water is peaceful, and the fresh breeze makes every walk feel refreshing. There are plenty of benches and spots to sit, so you can just take your time and enjoy the scenery. It’s also a great place for photos, especially during sunrise and sunset when the colors on the water look amazing. The walking paths are clean and easy to stroll along, and there are nice cafés and little shops nearby if you want a snack or drink. Whether you come for a jog, a family walk, or just to clear your mind, this place is perfect.
Lots of stuff to do here was pretty cool. It was a highlight. I'm sure it's an awesome place even for locals. You could spend a couple days exploring things around here, maybe even a week. Nice museum, and an important stop for understanding life in Halifax, especially its deep connection to maritime culture. It features a nice collection of historical artifacts, a fair amount of informative displays, and a few pieces related to the Titanic. But what I personally loved the most was the collection of scale model ships — a long-lost craft. They are beautifully made and brought back so many childhood memories of wandering around similar displays back home. If you have the time, it’s a lovely spot for a short break in your day.

Great museum with some interesting topics for people coming from abroad as well. Like information on the Titanic. We went on a Tuesday, we didn’t know, but then entrance is free. At the time we walked in a free guided tour was starting. The ideal to quickly explore some highlights as we were short on time. To fully visit you should reserve at least 2-3 hours.
The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic is located in a very convenient spot, just a short walk from Downtown. The opening hours are also quite reasonable. Inside, you’ll find a variety of exhibits showcasing the history of sailing, with models of ships from different eras, along with informative displays. It’s a very educational experience.
I specifically went to see the Titanic exhibit, and although there weren’t as many physical items related to Titanic as I expected, the information and records were still interesting and insightful. Apart from that, there are also beautiful displays of various sailing ships and modern steamships.
It’s a great place to bring kids as they can learn a lot about the development of maritime history. The ticket price is also quite reasonable. Highly recommended!
The location of this museum is very good, next to the port. In addition to the regular maritime exhibitions, there are also historical materials and exhibits about the Titanic. Looking at those exhibits, my heart is full of sadness. There are ticket discounts for people of different ages and identities. It is recommended to come and visit.
I loved walking through the museum seeing all the history of boats. I experienced an interesting nausea when entering into the Titanic display. I want the only one to experience it too. It didn't l last but I'll definitely go back because there's something there.
This museum is very well done with exhibits about the Titanic disaster and the Mont Blanc explosion of 1917. There are scale models of many vessels and something that would appeal to almost everybody. Certainly everybody with any maritime curiosity. Worth the time.
As a fan of maritime history and Titanic I was expecting a lot coming into this museum. I would say I was both pleasantly surprised but also let down at the same time. The first floor is filled with history on a multitude of different Nova Scotian maritime history, from the Halifax explosion, to the Canadian Navy, and a very nice cultural piece on First Nation history. This is also where I feel there could be improvement, the hall with smaller boats and water craft feels a little under utilized and sparse with artifacts. The second floor is what blew me away, an amazing display of Cunard artifacts and models, hands on models, and the star of the show, the titanic section. Filled with history and artifacts that are rather touching when you read the history behind them. Be prepared to bump shoulder though as this is the busiest part of the museum. Overall this museum is a must see if you are into Titanic or Ocean Liner history, but the first floor leaves a little to be desired.
Great museum! Many hands-on displays. Guided tours are held frequently throughout the day. We saw one explaining the Halifax explosion hosted by Ella's. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the subject and offered some little known facts too! Definitely recommend this!

Shubenacadie Wildlife Park, located 40 kilometers from Halifax, is a sprawling 40-hectare park that offers visitors the chance to see a wide variety of native and exotic animal species. The park is home to moose, foxes, beavers, wolves, black bears, and cougars. Visitors can enjoy informative displays about hooved mammals, canids, and cats while taking a leisurely walk under the trees.
Excellent place to spend an afternoon with the family. Very affordable. For 3 adults and 1 child under 5, it was $14 for admission. Lots of animals out and about.
There's an ice cream stand and food truck so you can enjoy a snack and some ice cream after your walk.
The raccoons are my favorite, as you can tell by the excessive photos.

This park is a wonderful spot for families and nature lovers! The park is well-maintained, the animals are clearly well cared for, and it’s a great way to learn about native Canadian wildlife. Peaceful trails, friendly staff, and a fun, educational experience for all ages. Highly recommend for a relaxing day outdoors!
We took our family on a night tour of the wildlife park. It was such a cool experience to see animals at night and how differently they act at night. We met the tour guide at 8:00 and we finished the tour at 10:00. It was a lot of walking so be prepared for that. Our children are between 12 and 5 and did start to get tired. Seeing the wildlife park with a guide was a really great experience because we got to learn so much about the animals and how they came to be at the park. Totally recommend this for anyone looking for a unique experience with their family. The night tours aren't run all the time and do fill up quickly.
Overall a nice place. As with most, I wish there was more funds for larger habitat enclosures and better water features. I'm glad though that the animals are ones that can't go back to the wild and are taken care of. Staff we wonderful.
We had an absolute blast at this wildlife sanctuary! 🦌🦅 There was such a great variety of animals, many that are native to Nova Scotia it was really cool to see them quite up close. It’s the perfect spot for families, kids, and friends of all ages.
The admission was very reasonably priced, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable and accessible.
The park is really well set up with tasty food, drinks, snacks, and even ice cream to keep you fueled throughout the day. The social media team does a fantastic job too! super informative, helpful, and a great way to plan your visit ahead of time.
Highly recommend for a fun, memorable, and family-friendly adventure!
I keep forgetting how big and how nice this park is. Given the location you'd think it would be much smaller, but it seems to just keep going. My kids love coming here! It was a bit warm and the animals were lazing in the sun, but most of them were out which was nice. The picnic area and playground at the back of the park is also a really nice space. It would be nice to see some updates or even a face-lift to the playground, but again, the kids had a blast. Finished off with a purple dragonfruit Gelato which was phenomenal!
What an amazing experience! (Could only imagine how it would be for a child). The park is set up in a way where it never feels too crowded and is extremely clean and the animals are all very evidently well cared for. Highlights were definitely the adorable raccoons, the precious bear eating leaves, and the wild to see wolves!
Beautiful Wild Life Park. Good for kids outing to explore wild animal. There is no Lion or other predators animals but having significant animals to see. These all animals are rescued. Overall we had great time visiting it. They have ample space for parking. They are having canteen for food & icecream to enjoy.

Little museum but will keep your children occupied for an hour at least. Fee to enter the museum (free if under 5). Has separate washrooms just opposite of the ticket counter (has diaper change table in the men’s washroom, appreciated very much as a dad). Has a small souvenir shop as well.

We did a family fossil hunt and had a great time . We made fossils and had a brunch and went out looking for real fossils possibly someone's with dinosaurs. The staff was super friendly and informative I learned a lot and had no idea there was so much information in fossils. I would definitely recommend as a great way to spend afternoon with kids and I would even recommend as just a fun outing as adults I'm sure everyone will learn something and have fun.

A small but very informative museum with a strong focus on the region’s fascinating geological history. The exhibits are well-presented, making it a worthwhile stop if you’re interested in the Bay of Fundy’s unique landscape and fossils. Admission is inexpensive, which makes it accessible for families or casual visitors.
While I didn’t notice staff on the exhibit floor to answer questions, the gift shop was staffed and the person there was very friendly and helpful. The shop itself had some nice local and themed items, adding to the experience.
Overall, it’s a modest but engaging museum — a great way to spend an hour or so learning about the area.
A really great museum for a quick visit. Lots of information thou, you can either spend 10 minutes if you just look at stuff but, you can be there for an hour if you read and learn all the interesting facts about Nova Scotia and his geological richness. You're going to learn not only about the Canadian dinosaurs but, also about some cool and beautiful rocks that you can find in the region (Bay of Fundy) and in Nova Scotia. Our kids were amazed and we were too, really well organized and maintained museum. Now with COVID-19 it is sparkling clean and with some different security measures so, please call ahead or book online to make sure you won't lose your time. It is not their fault, they're just doing the right thing by being cautious about the situation.
And for dog owners, they have a small fenced area on a tree shade that you can lock your dog while you're visiting. That's for small dogs only thou. I saw a bigger wooden fence but, not sure if it was part of the museum.
Not very big, for an attentive and curious person it will take no more than 40 minutes to go through the whole museum, and if you just look at the exhibits, then you can do it in 15 minutes.

Burntcoat Head Park, located in the Bay of Fundy, offers a unique dining experience on the ocean floor during low tide. A great place. Both for a picnic, when you can make a place for it during the low tide, and also for a simple walk along the bottom of the Bay. And when the tide is in, it's quite interesting to sit and watch the water and drink coffee. It sounds like something boring, but I was interested in watching how the water gradually reclaims all the cracks and stones on the bottom. It takes a lot of time, so if you choose the right time to visit, you can enjoy both low tide and high tide. There is also a small shop in the lighthouse building, where you can also try cookies and apple cider on the floor above. And look at the surrounding places from the top floor, through the windows of the lighthouse.
There is a big parking lot for such a small park here too. The only thing I didn't like was the three speed bumps in front of the park. I jokingly told my wife that this would be a good reason not to come here anymore, so as not to experience this inconvenience again (they are very high).

So happy to find this place by chance while on our way to Cape Breton. We spent about 3 hours wandering the place, taking photos and just enjoying the area. When we arrived, it was high tide. About 45 mins later, it was low tide and we were able to walk on the ocean floor. What a great experience! The climb up to the lighthouse was interesting and you will get a 360 view on the place. Definitely worth the stop!
Mesmerizing place!
A stroll in ocean bed is worth alongside of flowerpot in Burnt coat during the low tide. We reached early morning when none was around and the tide was to its lowest. Felt in love with giant red blocks, shades of greens, gave a tranquility, the sounds of waves, birds chirps added flavour. However, the Ocean bed was mildly slippery, any anti slippery footwear's would be great to for use. If you are visiting plan based on tides schedule, helps to enjoy both low and high tide. There is a tap and brush nearby stairs to clean the footwear.
Restroom, gift shop and lighthouse are operational between 9am to 5pm.
Incredible views. We checked the tide schedule before we left . We got there at the beginning of the six hour window where you can explore the ocean floor. Saw hermit crabs, sea weed lots of shells and scenery was beautiful. Very muddy in parts watch your step!!
One of the best places to see both high and low tides. Ample parking with clean washrooms (9-5). Has a diaper changing table as well! The viewpoint is 2 minutes away from the parking lot. Better take a boot if you are interested to walk on the ocean floor.
Beautiful place. Very important to wear proper shoes when going down the stairs. There is water to wash shoes off. Benches to sit and enjoy the view, plaques with explanations and informations. Lighthouse can be entered during certain time and climb up. Big gravel parking lot, with designated RV parking. Washrooms available and a little gazebo to sit and enjoy. Lots of green space to have Picknicks.
Dog friendly, just keep on leash and clean up after them.
Watch the apple trees. As nice as they are apples are falling and “could” maybe hit your head.
This place is a gem! A once in a lifetime experience to explore the ocean floor during low tide. We saw lots of tiny shells, sea snails, barnacles and kelp. The trail to the ocean floor is short and very easy to follow. Tips: check out the official tide schedule on the website and come during low tide, pack food and water, and don’t expect to spend too much time in the lighthouse as there is no air circulation and it’s super hot and stuffy at the top. Also bring water shoes.
Beautiful views of the changing tides and Bay of Fundy. Recommend getting there at low or mid-low tide when walking is possible on the rocky sea floor. Take care walking as the tides come into the area quickly and could potentially get stranded or cut off from the main stairs to the water.

The BEST!!!! This campsite built into the cliff side has MANY campsites with spectacular views. Almost every campsite is very large and well spaced from others. The surrounding area is picturesque and offers an easy day trip to Chignecto Provincial park. Scenery around there is stunning. Facilities were clean, and the campground was beautifully groomed.

The park’s closed from Fall, google doesn’t tell you that. We drove all the way till there but couldn’t walk the basin, though planned the travel according to ebb timings.I assume it opens for summers , even the restaurants nearby were closed. We hiked a bit , didn’t want to hike all the way till park (takes like 7 km or so one way I think). Might return in summer but I wish google told us it was closed.
This place was an amazing place giving us a unique experience of the high and low tide. The lighthouse was very beautiful and well decorated. There was an easy access down the the beach. We were able to walk on the ocean floor since it was a low tide at the time. We were able to see many sea creatures like crabs, snails, etc. There was a playground near the lighthouse making foe an amazing place for children. There were benches giving a great view of the ocean and the 5 islands. The islands looked spectacular especially from the lighthouse area of the park.
Amazing park and people.probably best I'vestayed at ..it is a very nice piece of quiet heaven...I would stay here all season if I could. The sights and excursions are endless and have had the best vacation in years. There are private sites ( which is what I booked) for people who need to get away and decompress. Highly recommend this park for your next trip!!!!

I stayed at site 16 for just under a week and thoroughly enjoyed it! The water and electrical service was convenient, as well as location in proximity to the day use area/beach.
Loop A is a bit far from the washrooms/showers/dish washing area (it’s almost a 1km walk following the campsite roads).
The views are spectacular and it’s a must see place at both low and high tide! Low tide is wonderful to walk far out, but high tide is nice for swimming on a hot day too.
We love this park. Did you know that is has some of the most interesting geology in the province? Take a walk along the beach at low tide and make your way east. Some really fantastic, and geologically unique features here. Worth checking out. I cycled the trails around the campground and enjoyed the views from the camp site. The park is high up on a hill, so the views from practically everywhere are fantastic. Staff is great too, and good firewood, which for me is a make or break item.
Beautiful park, very well kept. The spacing between the sites is generous and our site was level enough to sleep comfortably in a tent. The only thing I did not understand is how operating the showers from 09:00 to 13:00 and 16:00 to 21:00 is saving much water, as is claimed by the administration.

What a blast! This was the surprise highlight of our trip out east. My daughter and I had such a great time. We had the two friends from New Zealand as our guides, wish I could remember their names at this point it was a month ago today that we went. 10/10 rafting experience with Miles as our guide. He was excellent in explaining the tides and the bore to us, spotting wildlife and guiding us through some massive waves. We went with our teenagers and everyone had a blast. We felt safe and had smiles on our faces the whole time... You just can't see them in pictures because of all the water. Wear your old shoes, rent the GoPro and have so much fun!
Amazing fun! Some unexpected pluses, like warm water, fish jumping, and feeling the currents meet when the tidal bore came in...kids 8, 11, LOVED it. I've been out twice in 2019 and also in previous seasons. Always a great time. Highly recommended. Shubenacadie River Runners' guides have been consistently good and all three levels of ride are entertaining. The Super Wild Ride, though, is my favorite.

What a fantastic place to explore!! I loved the guided tour, would highly recommend you book at least the 30 minute one to learn what to look for and some of the science/History behind the cliffs.
You are not permitted to take fossils from the beach, but that means you can find fantastic stuff each time you come. There are some stairs to get to and from the beach, but I was able to manage fine with a cane. Great experience for all ages!

A really unique opportunity to see some plant fossils with varying price and experience options. For the simplest experience, you just arrive and walk out onto the shore where all the fossils from the eroding cliff face are. Unless you know your plant fossils and what to look for you probably won't get too much out of it though. The second option is to pay to enter the small museum in the visitor center. It will give you what you need and some more background information on things you won't see here but will put things into a timeline context. The third option is to pay just a little or a lot more for a 30 min basic or a lot more for the 90 min version. We did the 90 min. but think we would have been happy with the shorter one. After being armed with some knowledge on what to look for it was a lot easier to understand what we were looking at and finding fossils. Nice museum area (included with the tours). You don't need anything more than running shoes unless you intentionally want to get muddy. Plenty of parking.
Watch the tide schedule. You want to see this gasping view when the tide is out. Beautiful museum education center, small cafe, gift shop (bought some stone bracelets ie rose quartz) bags to fill with gemstones, picnic areas, huge staircase to get to the Rock beach. ... I counted over 70 stairs. Best to wear secure footwear... sandals might not be the best option.. so many interesting rocks. ... please note rocks are not to be removed from this area. Great history lessons, magnifying glasses to look more closely at fossils great for kids of all ages curiosity. Tours are available for that personal experience. And friendly staff! It's a long way to get to but this place is beautiful.
My family had a great adventure at Joggins Fossil Cliffs & Centre. Staff were awesome upon arrival. It was clean and everything was explained perfectly. Really cool to see the tide go down and explore the beach for rocks and fossils.
When we left by car an added bonus occurred. We saw a bunch of foxes. Really cool!
A tricky place to visit as a tourist due to the varying low tide. Unfortunately, low tide when I visited was outside of the centre hours, but if you can book a tour, I would recommend it. In case you can’t discover anything yourself, there are some fossils near the staircase and it’s free to explore the beach.
This is a special little place which gives a look into history and geology right in your hand. The museum is small and well put together. Couple the museum with the tour and I felt you got a great personal experience first hand with the earth's history.
While you're not actually discovering any new fossils but finding one's which have been scattered (previously fallen, found, replaced and found again, rinse-repeat) across the beach from portions of the beachfront wall stratum, which is a geological research area. The tour guide was a student doing what seemed to be an internship so she was knowledgeable enough to present and answer questions during the tour.
It reminded me of panning for gold in the western United States when I was younger but a notch better.
The Joggins Fossil Museum is a truly wonderful place to visit! It has so much to offer for anyone interested in history, science, or simply exploring something unique. You get to immerse yourself in the fascinating story of fossils and discover how they have shaped our understanding of evolution. I visited joggins after taking a plant diversity course where the instructor brought up the cliffs. I knew I wanted to visit some day and I did. I had such a great time and loved being able to recall what I learned in Uni. My husband never studied into it and he also had a great time and was very excited to find fossils and listen to me blab about them.
A great experience for all ages.
Will definitely visit again.

Victoria Park is a picturesque 1000-acre park in Truro, Nova Scotia. It offers an extensive trail system, picnic areas, and beautiful waterfalls. Victoria Park has always been a beautiful place to visit, and being open to the public year round you can't go wrong regardless of what season we are in.
We visited a couple of weeks ago after a fresh snowfall, it was quiet and quite the sight covered in a blanket of snow. Though be careful, the trails aren't maintained during the winter season and it can be quite icy on the upper paths in comparison to the lower ones.
*Parts of the trail have been damaged by a recent storm and are no longer accessible until they have been repaired. These sections are blocked off with signage and become obvious as you approach with massive pieces of the trail crumbling down the cliffside or the trail suddenly becoming blocked off by massive trees that have uprooted and toppled over onto one another.

A very large park with a reservoir in the middle. Lots of hiking and cycling trails. There are benches here to sit, but they are not as often as it would like. There are several interesting points, but by the time you get to them you will get tired, so this park is more about active recreation or just walking around to relax from the city. Overall, a very nice place... Both my wife and I agreed that we can endlessly make photos(me) and paint(she) pictures because it has a lot of interesting "small nature spots". Definitely worth a visit. We spent half a day in this park. And there is free parking at the entrance to the park.
Victoria Park is a true gem in Truro! The massive park has trails that take hikers up to the top where the waterfall is situated through a very long Jacob’s Ladder.
We were lucky to visit during the fall foliage although the waterfall only had a small stream at this time. There is also a kids playground and ball diamond at the base of the park. As well as a large outdoor pool that was closed after the summer season.
Victoria Park is a hidden gem! This beautiful park offers a range of amenities, including a playground, music stage, and ample car parking.
The stunning hill and trees create a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, making it the perfect spot to unwind and connect with nature.
And to make it even better, they offered free burgers and soft drinks the day we visited!
Highly recommended for a serene escape from the city!

Beautiful park with loads and loads of different trails to walk. Some on hard ground, some on dirt, and some on timber walkways. Also some lovely little waterfalls with pools you can take a dip in. The grounds were beautifully maintained. A real hidden gem in the city.

There's a swimming pool. Pickle balls courts, play areas for kids, music bandstand, BBQ area is covered and with screens to keep out the bugs! Oh wait! There's many trails to choose from along with Jacobs Ladder! I dare ya to try it 😁
This is an amazing place for anyone who wants to spend a day admist nature. Although it was very hot almost 28 degrees, we didn't feel it as there were lots of trees and the sunlight hardly reaches the floor. Lots of picnic tables where you can enjoy your food and hear the soothing sound of water flowing and many small water falls. You can also take your stroller upto certain areas. Had a great time exploring it with my kids.

Decided to visit Anne Murray centre in Springhill where she was born. I enjoy her music especially growing up as I am in my 60s now. The centre was interesting to look through and also view some videos and footage from TV and concerts. There was a really nice gift shop at the end which I bought earrings, postcards, and magnets. if you are an Anne Murray music fan, it was a great place to visit.
If you like Country Star Anne Murray, then you need to go just about every detail of her singing career and her personal life.
My husband has always loved Anne Murray, so we visited her Museum while we were in Spring Hill. We really enjoyed it. Lots of interesting information about her life and career. It was not just costumes and awards – there were lots of interesting stories and anecdotes about her life, her family, and how hard she worked. Very nice gift shop. We recommend stopping by if you like Anne Murray.

Beautiful place to visit. Walked down the trail to see the high tide, returned later and took a shuttle down so we could walk on the ocean floor at low tide. Great value price wise, one ticket allows you to come and go for 24 hours, so you could go back and see both high and low tides. Has a great gift shop. Plenty of parking for all sizes of vehicles. Eady to find and a beautiful drive to get there.

Visiting Hopewell Rocks was an unforgettable experience, possibly my favorite in a long time. We were incredibly fortunate to spot a bull moose during low tide, an event that almost never occurs. It was a truly special and unexpected moment.
The staff on site were exceptional, highly organized and attentive. They ensured everyone’s safety by guiding us from the beach back to the stairs as the moose came closer to shore.
Witnessing both the low and high tides was absolutely breathtaking. The natural beauty here is indescribable, a must-see experience!
My wife and I visited Hopewell Rocks, and it turned out to be one of the most fascinating places we’ve seen. Watching the dramatic transformation between high and low tide was simply incredible — at low tide, we walked right on the ocean floor among the famous “flowerpot” rock formations, and just a few hours later, those same rocks were surrounded by water, standing like islands. It’s amazing how powerful the Bay of Fundy tides are — they’re actually among the highest in the world, rising and falling up to 14 meters each day.
The place is well set up for visitors, with ample parking and a ticketed entry system. Tickets are valid for two consecutive days, which is great because it lets you experience both tides without rushing. The walk to the rocks takes about 15 minutes along a scenic trail, but there’s also a paid shuttle if you’d rather not hike. We found the whole setup very organized and easy to navigate.
Before you go, it’s worth checking the official website for tide timings so you can plan your visit around them. They also offer free guided tours, which are really informative and help you appreciate the geology and history behind these beautiful formations. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here — it’s one of those rare natural wonders that truly lives up to the hype.
This place looks like it's straight out of another world! The scenery is so incredibly unique and just breathtaking. It's definitely a prime spot for snapping some amazing photos. As you learn the history, you can really feel the history all around you here. The sheer beauty of the landscape is something else. Plus, it offers a nice little cardio workout as you explore. I could wander around here for ages just taking it all in. It’s a truly remarkable and memorable experience.
Beautiful visit - we came over 2 days once to see the tide up and once to walk on the ocean floor. My 3 year old really enjoyed the park slides and the ride down to the rocks on the cart (it's $2 each way per adult and free for him). It felt like a safari to him!
The little museum is really nice! Very informative.
Gift shop is cute but I found that when we went it was not stocked properly (off season). They only had a weird night version magnet of Hopewell rocks. The little kid's DIY boxes on sale ended up having completely dried out paint.
I would say the price is a bit much for what you get.
The absolute best part of visiting is witnessing the dramatic difference between high and low tide. At low tide, you can walk on the exposed ocean floor and stand beneath the massive, tree-topped "flowerpot" rock formations, a rare and surreal experience. Just a few hours later, these same areas are submerged under as much as 40 to 50 feet of water. Amazing!
Great place to view nature at work carving the rocks on a daily basis with phenomenal tides.
Super visitor centre with a restaurant and displays explaining the geography of the place. Plenty of staff around to guide you and answer any questions.
Enjoyable walk to the various viewing points or the beach itself. The track is steep in places. There's also a shuttle you can take from the arrival point to the top of the beach area: $2 CAN per person per one way trip.
Lots of steps to get down to the beach but there's also a wheelchair access route marked out(didn't try it).
Tip: You dont have to wait the full 6 hours between tides. We saw high tide at about 930 in the morning and were able to stand on part of the beach by 1300. You'll need to wait a bit longer if you want access to the beach trail around the shoreline.
We loved Hopewell Rocks. Staying overnight nearby to see both high and low tide was absolutely worth it. The trails are beautiful, the hike is enjoyable, and the shuttle makes it easy to explore. Good coffee, a great gift shop, and a nice little museum made the visit even better. The people are so friendly and knowledgeable, which really added to the experience.

Great little outdoor wetlands hideaway to see lots of waterfowl, birds of prey, reptiles, amphibians and even fish. A great spot to let go of stresses and embrace nature like the wild creatures we are. Boardwalks surround much of the body of water. Several kilometers of trails, named after local biodiversity, it's a tidy little ecosystem in and of itself. I recommend anyone able to visit do so. There are picnic tables and benches along some of the pathways to give your feet, knees, hips and back a break along the way.
Sackville waterfowl park was SO amazing that we had to go back the next day!
Saw lots of new birds including a Cedar Waxwing, yellow warbler, ducks (can’t recall the name, but they were special). Very easily to walk. I’ll be going back!
A wonderful place to go for a walk. Very few people around. We brought our two Dachshund puppies, and they enjoyed the visit too. The paths are in great shape and the place is exceptionally clean.
Amazing!! A must see for sure. The combination of trails and elevated deck that cuts through the marsh is oncredibley well done. Great way to be unobtrusive to the natural settings and provide great views and an easy walk. Very clean with no litter!
This is a delightful little park to walk around. Lots of water fowl to see as you stroll along the paths. The paths also lead you just outside of the downtown area, so it's easy to grab a nice coffee and bite to eat just before or after entering the park. Great place to stretch your legs, as the park is located just off the highway.
The boardwalks that go over the marsh are great for watching wild life. The current one way rules are silly, it's outside and there's plenty of space to pass by. It also means to do all the board walks your have to go around in circles.

It really is quite good. Service is incredible. Everyone is knowledgeable, friendly and quick. Reservations are recommended for sure. A really important part of breakfast/brunch is the coffee and Sugar Moon has delicious coffee. One thing I will mention is it is pretty expensive considering what you get. But the over all experience is fun if you’ve never been. I don’t think it’s someplace folks will visit more than a couple of times.

The brunch menu is absolutely brilliant and delicious. Every menu item is created with products sourced from local producers and has maple syrup cleverly incorporated. I’m personally still thinking about the chicken and waffles. Incredible. Supporting local has never been so convenient.
We booked a Full tour for my daughter's birthday. The staff were amazing and very friendly. The tour was full of knowledge and went well above expectations. The sugar on snow was nostalgic and traditional. This is a well hidden gem that is well worth booking as much as you can in advance. The food choices are preference friendly with many great options.
Brunch is amazing and worth the drive from Ontario! It is a bit pricey but for the quality of the food well worth it. Best pancakes I have had in the maritimes! And maybe Canada! Also brought my dog, and they have picnic benches outside for us to eat.
This was my first visit to Sugar Moon Farm. It’s a beautiful place, and the staff are so friendly. Although the food was pricier than expected, we enjoyed our food in the cozy atmosphere.

Bore Park is a small but popular spot in Moncton, offering a great view of the tidal bore on the Peticodiac River. Nice little spot. It's a small park, but the area by the river has a ton of bench seating to watch the bore. Only a handful of people there when we went. We were in time.to see it, just so I would suggest giving yourself 20-30m prior to posted times to be there.
Really nice place to see the tide coming in. You have a beautiful view and you can clearly hear it.
Great place in the city to watch the “rapids” with great foot path all along the trail. We went at high tide and the waters were quite high and so were the winds. We didn’t get to see the rapids where you could actually surf on but the currents were strong. Definitely not a place to fall in during high tides. Nature really is magical.
Nice park just by the Petitcodiac River. Wow, the colour of that river.. Beware where you obtain your tidal bore time information from. Some people were much better informed than we were, we arrived just in time to see the "back of the bore".
Beautiful scenery and good for walking on the trails the have lots of types of birds that fly around like seagulls, pigeons even crows 🐦⬛ which are sweet

Took a picturesque drive to Jost. We sampled the newest wine and headed to the Cafe. We had the brushetta and the seafood chowder, both were absolutely delicious, the server was great. Honestly I am not a chowder person, but this was so light and creamy with whole shrimp and scallops. Never disappointed. Great afternoon.

Okay so, I would give it a five but the seating was awful. Had to wait for a table because the tables sat 6-8 people and and they had diners of two seated at them. Definitely need to break up the tables as anything for less than 6 people was limited.
Wine amazing, staff. Amazing. Vineyard beautiful grounds and the North shore of my beautiful province of Nova Scotia is a must see. Love Jost. Food was a 10.

Went for a wine tasting (6 of us) & a bite to eat 2 weeks ago. Nick was very attentive & went out of his way to welcome us. The wines were very good & the food was excellent. We all had the seafood chowder which was very yummy & the seafood gluten free pizza which was delicious. All staff were pleasant & helpful & addressed any questions we had. Will definitely go back again when visiting Nova Scotia next time.

We made a quick photo stop at the Giant Lobster and it was pure road-trip fun. Easy parking, a short stroll, and then—boom—those massive claws! We took all the goofy perspective shots, learned a bit about local lobster culture from the signs, and soaked up the small-town charm around the site. It’s a fast, kid-friendly detour that delivers big smiles and a few frame-worthy photos. Worth the stop—five minutes turns into fifteen in the best way.
Fun place to take a few pics. The shops are nice too. Just wish people were more respectful and not spend so much time hogging the venue. People should snap a few pics then let others do the same. Has been a bit of a trend during this vacation.
Great little stop on your way to PEI... who wouldn't want to see a huge lobster monument that you and the kids can climb for a photo! Fun times!
lol, it may seem corny to some, but we always stop for pictures any time we visit the area. It was early autumn so the little shops were closed for the season, but we loved that the lobster wore a purple Halloween hat!! 😁
I wanted to sit in the garden near the giant lobster and read my book the entire night. But, I had to go enjoy scenes from the lake side and then the beautiful pre-sunset aura.
This is a must see attraction !
The area also has cute little shops and a visitor centre. Good parking.
The gift shops had cute locally made items that made great souvenirs.
People were having full on photo shoots at the lobster so it took a long time to snap a couple pictures without a random stranger in the photo.
The snack bar/store is way over priced! $6 for a small bottle of Gatorade is robbery.

so cool to finally cross this amazing engineering marvel. It is the longest bridge in the world that crosses ice-covered water. A very unique 13km drive.

The Confederation Bridge is definitely quite the sight. Standing at 12.9 km, this is the longest bridge in Canada and arguably one of the most scenic as well.
I’ve taken both the ferry and the bridge to P.E.I and this is so much more scenic and beautiful. Even on a weekend and with construction on the bridge, it wasn’t that busy at all. Even when traffic got heavy, the views made it worth it.
The only reason I docked a star off this review is because of the toll you have to pay on the way out of the island. You pay a $50 toll for a car which is kind of insane. For visitors and tourists it may not be so bad for a one time thing, but from what I understand, even residents of P.E.I have to pay the same $50 toll every time they leave which seems very unfair.
All in all, it’s a very scenic way of getting to P.E.I and is a nice experience. Not bad for a once in a lifetime kinda of thing.
First time on the Island PEI ! Definitely recommend it ! The beaches are beautiful, I would recommend going to the provincial park... Cows Ice-cream store ! We went to Fin Folk restaurant, AMAZING 👏 fresh sea food platter and smash burgers ! The view is amazing.. the tide was going out at the time we were there! Saw a crab trying to burrow in the wet sand !
I'am sorry to say I wanted to drive over it but my wife said no way when we got within 500mts. Extraordinary engineering fete , beautiful bridge. $20 return fee.
So we ended up driving down to the ferry south of Truro which was a great 75mins. Return cost was $45, had lunch aboard.

The history behind this destination is heartwarming. If you really take your time, enjoy each feature, you will not be disappointed. The love this father had for his family while creating these dream bottle houses is so amazing. And the gardens - incredible. They have also created a special area for people to enjoy a picnic - complete with blankets and life sized versions of board games. We could have stayed here all day, a highlight of our trip to the island.

A fascinating place with beautiful architecture made by locals- and a lovely garden and gift shop. If I lived near by I would come to just sit in the garden and have a picnic, but it was a neat visit to walk through all the buildings: see chapel, several houses, and the old lighthouse too! Absolutely stunning gardens so well maintained. The gardeners deserve a raise. I could sit in those gardens for hours. Now on to the bottle houses. This place was so amazing. It was so cool to see all the houses made of bottles, and was just so beautiful. Theres quite a few things to check out. It is a relatively small area and I believe admission is 12$? But it’s so worth it. And it’s beautiful there. I could have spent hours. They also have a gift shop with many cute little trinkets and things. I highly recommend everyone who debates checking it out to do it.
Very nice set of buildings using just bottles, which is very unique. The fee as of today is 10 dollars for adults and 9 dollars for seniors.
Several thousands of bottles are used and they very beautifully used for a very picturesque small buildings. There are three different buildings inside. There's also a miniature lighthouse at the far end.
There is also beautiful garden inside the campus.
They have "no paws on the ground " policy. So you need to carry your pets inside. They also have strollers.
This place is at the western end of the island so expect to drive around an hour and half from the bridge or downtown. But definitely worth a visit to this unique place
Absolutely beautiful gardens and fun bottle house walk through. The only thing missing was some tea and tasty treats. It is $10 to explore the gardens and bottle houses and there is a well curated gift shop at the entrance.
The Bottle Houses were amazing! We didn’t have this place on our list, but it showed up on the map while we were visiting Cape Egmont Lighthouse. We enjoyed it so much, it was raining, but that made it even more special as we walked around with our umbrellas. We highly recommend this stop! I also found a pair of beautiful earrings in the shop that I brought home with me. The gardens are gorgeous, and the houses themselves are truly beautiful.
This place is super cool, even if it's a bit out of the way, depending on where you're staying on PEI it's definitely not near most of the other attractions you're looking to see. Also go see it right away. There is a real estate sign out in front of it, which means they're selling it. It might not even be a thing in a year or so so get out there. Take a look. It's cool. I wish that they would put big allergen lights on the inside of each one of these structures and light them up at night cuz it's that would just be so cool looking from the outside. And if they like put up some barbecues somewhere in the property where people could rent out and tent out while they grilled and after the sun went down these structures would be all luminous and that would be so awesome and totally worth $140 booking. Just saying

This to me was a live performance of A Christmas Carol, and my thoughts were, this is the performance you get after a two-year shutdown due to covid-19.
90% of the actors have succumbed to covid-19 and the immunologically strong 2 cast members have survived, and during quarantine they have had ample time to have learned every part and all of their lines. And in the spirit of entertainment, The Show Must Go On!
The two remaining cast members deliver a spirited and memorable performance! Five star from every angle, standing ovation!
Consider myself extremely fortunate to be able to witness the efforts of these two performers and how they held the audience's attention in the palms of their hands for 2 hours. Bringing it to a crescendo of emotion and joyful seasonal celebration! Bravo and hats off to the both of you!

My family and I saw the Highland Storm show tonight. What an amazing performance by all of the young women and men. The singing and the dancing was spectacular. There was singing, drumming, dancing, and lots of wonderful instruments.
Highland Storm started off great. Then the city lost power.. the performers did their absolute best to fill the gap while we waited hopefully for the power to be restored. They pulled out all the stops.. we got to enjoy some dancing, piping, drums, songs and other instruments. Unfortunately, the show could not go on as the power did not return.. I'm basing my rating solely on the professionalism, optimism and commitment of the performers. We were offered refunds or were invited back for another viewing should we be inclined . Looking forward to seeing the rest of the show tomorrow!
What a great experience to learn what is taught at a Piping school and the parts of a bag pipe. The newer, attached auditorium is well suited for concerts and competitions. Most topics were covered except for the “straight face” vs smiling of the performers.
We took in this show on a whim and thoroughly enjoyed it. The music! Bagpipes, drumming, singing, tap and dancing combined to immerse us in sight and sound and the story of Scot’s coming to the Island. I found the lighting a little odd and dark at times but it didn’t detract from the excellence of the performance.
I can not recommend this venue highly enough. Exceptional! I finally went to a show last night and was incredibly impressed with the audio quality, the seating (every seat is a good seat), the friendly & helpful staff who go above and beyond, and most of all the professionalism of this top notch performing arts centre. It was obvious from just one show that the passionate and personable director Peter Gallant is gifted at what he does. Will definitely be back!

This is overrated in my opinion. There is one interesting street of shops and restaurants (with overpriced food). The walk to and from “Victoria Row” was more interesting.
This is a great place to take a walk with a few cute shops and restaurants. I wanted to love it more, but it was smaller than expected and a bit lackluster. The Old architecture on the buildings was beautiful.
Victoria Row was very nice. You have many choices to have something to eat. In the evening there was live music. It a happening place. Lots of friendly people.

The few stores are worth visiting. For my taste, the Northern Watters Knitwear and Tartan by itself is worth the stop.
We ate at the Irish Pub, one of the many cafes and restaurants, has great food and excellent service....with great smiles...we ate on the terrasse of the pub. All establishment offer inside and a street terrasse.
This was an interesting place. We happen to visit during the moon festival. It was very loud and busy. Not my favorite place on the island. But the shops down by the water were fabulous in Charlotte town.

Cool historic Catholic Church with the location dating back to the 1800s and the church being built in 1919. There is great architecture inside and out. A must walk by if visiting in town. Even if you don’t go inside the view from outside is gorgeous. Even if you aren’t religious the architecture alone is worth the views.

A must visit basilica in quiet city of Charlottetown. Parking was a bit challenging and most of the roads are narrow and one way. Better park in designated parking spaces and take a 5min walk to the Basilica.

Beautiful Basilica! This Cathedral Parish had its humble beginnings in the 1700s. Very rich in history! I visited on a Saturday afternoon just before the 4pm Mass and said a prayer of thanksgiving for the opportunity to see this beautiful High Victoian Gothic Cathedral, a National Historic Site! A treasure handed down by many generations before us so we can have a holy place of worship.

Very historic Bassillica and serene atmosphere. Located right in downtown and walkable distance to other attractions.
Out exploring the city. Walked in and was blown away by the architecture. An absolute beauty. History oozes from every inch.

I recently visited the Confederation Centre of the Arts in Charlottetown, and I was genuinely impressed. It’s such a unique place—part cultural hub, part architectural landmark, and full of Canadian history.
The building itself really stands out. It was designed in the 1960s by a group of Canadian architects known as ARCOP, and it’s a great example of early Brutalist architecture in Canada. You’ll notice the raw concrete and bold geometric shapes right away, but what’s cool is how well it blends into its surroundings. There’s a big open plaza, and the way the building brings in natural light and connects indoor and outdoor spaces is really thoughtful.
The Centre was built to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Charlottetown Conference, which helped shape the country, so there’s definitely a strong sense of national pride throughout the space. Inside, there’s an art gallery, performance halls, and of course the theatre that hosts Anne of Green Gables – The Musical, which has been running for decades.
Whether you’re into architecture, Canadian history, or just want to see a good show or explore some art, this place has something for everyone. I’d definitely recommend a visit—and if you can, take a guided tour to learn more about the design and the story behind it.
Walked into Confederation Centre of the Arts and got the warmest welcome from a lovely lady at the ticket counter—turns out she’s 70 but looks 50! Her positive vibe (and constant hellos to everyone) must be her secret fountain of youth. She even explained each section after I bought my ticket—super helpful! 😄 The Indigenous people’s art exhibition was a highlight.
It was captivating! Wished it was bigger—I could’ve lingered longer to soak in more. A gem with room to grow!

I'm not sure the Brutalist style fits in with Charlottetown but minor detail as the theatre itself has great seating and sound.
This theatre is top notch! Have seen: Anne of Green Gables, Telltale Harbor, Million Dollar Quartet. Their general staff are friendly, their production team creates breathtaking scenes props and effects, and the actors and directors create magic on stage. I am comparing this to the Mirvish production team in Toronto, and they hold up!
We went to go see Anne of Green Gables the musical. It had been a while since i’ve been to a live musical! The performers were amazing and the show was spectacular! However leaving the show was really disorganized and messy as well as during breaks. Everyone was shoving each other and when I was in line to get a drink during break this family butted in front of me, but hey there’s only so much the place can do! Overall, the staff was very friendly and the show is definitely worth to see! 👏🏻👏🏻
This is such a great museum and gallery- it was free admission for us and we got to see many different pieces from the group of seven to contemporary pieces, had so much fun here. If you’re in Charlottetown you must go!
I’ve seen a few shows here. Ticket purchasing was easy. Getting into the theatre was efficient and staff were helpful getting me to my seat.
The seats were comfy.
The bathrooms were clean.
I enjoyed each time I’ve been here.

Avonlea Village is a charming destination that pays homage to the author of 'Anne of Green Gables.' Once described as a mini theme park, it has transformed into a free outdoor shopping area with various restaurants and tourist shops. While the costumed characters are no longer present, visitors can still explore the streets of Anne's fictional village.
A beautiful little village that's easy to walk around and grab a bite at several of its restaurants. It also has the Cows outlet and several art and craft stores, as well as the Anne of Green Gables store.
The sign at the entrance rightfully brags that Avonlea Village has the best places to eat in PEI, and they're right. Moo Moo BBQ and Cows are definitely one of the best BBQ and ice-cream you can find anywhere, let alone on an island such as PEI.
With plenty of free parking, a wonderful atmosphere and a great selection of shops and restaurants, Avonlea Village is a must visit spot in PEI.

As the name suggests wonderful meals of different types of prepared turkey. I had the hot turkey sandwich and my wife ordered the turkey salad sandwich. Both orders were delicious. One of the best meals we've had in PEI. If you're in the area it's a must stop for a meal.
A very nice place for lunch, but very small if you are going just to walk around and see the village. Only a handful of restaurants and gift shops here.

Just a tourist trap. No real history. Pretty much closed after the main season (closed in September). Basically a collection of restaurants in building made to look like a historic village. The exception is the Turkey Tavern which was still open and served up excellent turkey options.
It was a lovely mock town of Avonlea, would have been so much better if it was open! Next time we’ll travel during summer months.
Honestly was pretty disappointed. I know it’s end of the season for PEI, however we were there the second busiest weekend on PEI and pretty much everything besides 2 restaurants were closed. Which is crazy to me considering it was still hot and had a ton of tourists there that weekend. A lot of which were going to the grounds directly beside Avonlea village, so you think they’d stay open for all that traffic. There was also only one gift shop open and the prices were exorbitant. I’m sure this is better during peak season but I won’t be returning, honestly not really even worth it. There are much better things on pei to see.
If you know and love the story Anne of Green Gable then a visit to Avonlea Village is a must while in PEI.

Really enjoyed our morning exploring all things Anne. The museum is lovely and engaging. The house and staff were great. We were there a day when actors were around dressed as characters. We loved this treat! We did the haunted woods walk with my two young kids and the length/sights were perfect. They were really engaged in the scavenger hunt. Def a highlight of a visit to the island.

Visiting Green Gables Heritage Place was an absolute dream come true. If you’ve ever read Anne of Green Gables or just love stepping into a storybook, this place makes you feel like you’re walking straight into the pages. The house is beautifully kept, full of charming little details that bring Anne’s world to life. Every room feels like it has a story to tell, and it’s so easy to imagine Anne running down the stairs or gazing out the window.
The grounds are just as magical. Walking the paths, breathing in that fresh PEI air, and seeing the gardens and landscapes that inspired L.M. Montgomery—it all feels surreal. The staff were welcoming and knowledgeable, and the whole place carries this sense of nostalgia and wonder.
Whether you’re a lifelong fan of Anne or just someone who enjoys history and beautiful places, this is an absolute must-visit. I left with a full heart, a camera roll full of memories, and a new appreciation for the simple magic of storytelling.

Beautiful museum with a nice and easy trail around the house. However, the visit was quite short since I’m not a fan and didn’t know about the story. You can read all the descriptive texts in the exhibition in less than 20 minutes, and the house visit was also short and super packed with other tourists.
Yes. If you’ve read the books, it’s worth it. It is “delightful when your imaginations come alive.” Walk through the house that inspired the setting of the story, Lovers Lane and the Haunted Wood. The visitors center was also lovely and had a LMM signature ink stamp that I put in my book. This Cherry Cordial can be found all over the island but we tried it here of course! When I got home I turned the bottle-cap into a fridge magnet. And although not in the book, the beavertails were worth the wait
A Truly Charming Family Experience!
Our family had such a wonderful time visiting Green Gables Heritage Place! From the moment we arrived, everything was well organized — even the parking area was easy to access, with helpful staff guiding visitors and making sure everything went smoothly.
It truly felt like stepping right into Anne of Green Gables — the house, the gardens, and the trails were all beautiful and peaceful. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, happily answering questions and sharing stories that made the place come alive.
If you’re someone who loves novels, especially Lucy Maud Montgomery’s works, this place is absolutely worth your precious time. It’s a must-visit attraction filled with history, beauty, and heartwarming charm for the whole family. ❤️
Our group had a lovely time. A beautiful home with quite a few artifacts from the late 1800s/early 1900s. Now it is quite a short visit but make sure to make the walk over to the site where she lived through the haunted woods (not really haunted). There is a bookstore and when you purchase your Anne books you get a stamped signature of Lucy M. Montgomery, a nice added tough you don’t get anywhere else.
This is truly one of the most beautiful and historically significant sites in Prince Edward Island. The house offers a fascinating glimpse into life during the Victorian era, reflecting both the elegance and the hardships of that time. The interior is thoughtfully preserved, with authentic artifacts that are beautifully displayed and exceptionally well maintained.
Beyond the historical charm, the surrounding scenery is simply breathtaking. The walk along the “Lover’s Lane” trail is especially enchanting, with its vibrant colors, lush greenery, and serene atmosphere. It’s a perfect blend of history, culture, and natural beauty — a must-visit for anyone exploring PEI.
Compared to other sites on the island this one felt less connected to L.M Montgomery and much more like just a tourist location. Being able to walk Lucy's Lovers Lane that inspired Anne's lovers lane was super interesting as well as walking up through the hunted woods to her grandparents house were L.M Montgomery spent most of her child really solidified the land marks of Anne's life. The small museum at the beginning is really interesting with reviews from the year the boom came out at a time line of L.M Montgomerys life and writing career I really enjoyed reading all of that but all in all compared to other Anne and L.M.M Sites on PEI it lacks magic.

If you want to explore PEI, this is a convenient location from which to do it. And it’s a national park, so that alone is enough to get you here. From a big rig perspective, pullthru sites are long enough, but narrow. Most of them offer good privacy. Hookups were in good condition, no problems there. We didn’t use bathrooms, but did try to use laundry which is very well used. That has to be a challenge for the park to maintain. If you are in a small rig, you can choose a site closer to beach but you won’t have much privacy. 2019 hurricane really did a number, check out the before and after photos I included, showing the pullthru site we were on. Loved the beach area, such a wonderful park experience.
So picturesque sunsets and sunrises here, beautiful shoreline, amazing waves. But be prepared for the fact that there is almost no privacy, just a couple of trees on all sides.
If you book a cabin like we did, make sure to have small grill or stove to prepare some meals, there is no grill on the side.
Clean bathroom and shower area.Atea is perfect.Windy if you're planning to use a tent or tarp.Staff are really friendly.Firewood costs around $10 amd they will give you a sack and you just refill it.

Beautiful beach. Campsite impeccably clean with well maintained fire pit and picnic table. Quiet. Good playground for kids -lots of fun. Facilities are well maintained and very clean. When you enter campsite, lots of dead wood and rather small trees. I believe this is the result of a hurricane a few years ago. I would still recommend - we had a small camper and got a site by the beach :). Lots of seashell on beach!
P.s. Staff is amazing! When we got to our site around 4pm, the previous camper had not left, tent still on site. Not sure what staff did but when we returned around 6pm, tent was no longer there without any issues for us.
Over good spot but you can tell the park took a big hit from the last two storms, not much privacy and higher winds then before. We had to take our tent down and leave two days early cause the site was too windy. There was also no wood to purchase at the park so make sure to come prepared. Bathrooms were overall really clean!
This is a great place to camp. We had all the hookups for our Airstream. The sunset walks on the beach were amazing. The campground is close to the Cavendish area attractions.
UNFORTUNATELY...Hurricane Fiona in 2022 truly caused so much devastation at this park, it will take a very long time to recover. There are not a lot of standing trees left.
Other than the beautiful views along the shoreline, I was very disappointed in the Park. Most campsites are small, with little if any privacy, and there seemed to be little concern for the noise levels of other campers after quiet time.
In addition, many campsites are surrounded by poison ivy. Mine was one of them. As a result, my 2 dogs had to spend most of thier time either in the truck, or in the bed of the truck to keep them safe from it.

The first thing impressing is jellyfish in the ocean close to the coast. It is not that deep or warm you can swim, but you can walk by jellyfish. Somebody showed me how to pick them up by hand, and I did. No danger, it is new experience, DO IT : )
I liked there was shower and changing room after getting wet in the ocean, which they were clean and organized.
Coastal sand was soft, and some folk using it for sunbathing. Overall, picturesque environment also due to red sandstone cliffs. There is lifeguard during the summer time for swimming (July & August).
Finally, strongly recommended!
Stunning beach! Large parking, facilities (bathroom, changing rooms, showers, outdoors showers and small cafe). Fee but well worth it. Boardwalk that also leads you to beach, accessible to wheelchair. Lifeguards. It gets a bit crowded, but you can easily walk away to have a more peaceful space. Bring your shade tent and picnic and you will have a great time! Beautiful scenery. be sure to visit even if for just a stroll on beach.
This beach was nice and clean, with unique red sands. We visited on a Sunday afternoon, and though it was quite busy, there was still plenty of space for us. The water was clean, shallow, and warm—perfect for a family outing with kids. There were showers on-site to wash off on the way back, which was convenient, and free parking was available as well. I enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend this beach.
The entrance to the beach is paid, and there is ample parking. There are changing rooms, WC, a clean wooden pier to the beach, and a foot shower. The beach is sandy, but the entrance to the water is rocky and sometimes slippery due to algae. There is a kelp smell. The water seemed cool, and the water was clear. Overall, it was a great, clean place to stay! I recommend it!
Beautiful sand beach lined with large sand dunes with with distinct red sandstone cliffs. Well maintained boardwalks with natural pond areas and wildflower meadows, we were visiting as Hurricane Lee arrived so the were lots of dramatic crashing waves and strong winds… still beautiful though. The shower / washrooms were well maintained and incredibly clean. The only downside was that a few areas were tapped off due to walkways being broken and broken information signs.
Had a really enjoyable time here. Nice facilities that were clean when we were there. I think a 4.5 is a better rating as the beach is quite rocky and hard to enjoy for swimming. That said the sandcastle making was lots of fun. Overall beautiful views, just keep in mind the trees in the area show evidence of the hurricanes that have come through.

This was an absolutely beautiful visit!
The beach is gorgeous and it's nice to see the sand dunes! Although, the water is absolutely freezing so be prepared! The beach is big with lots of space so if you want privacy you can move further down the beach.
You can walk down the trail nearby and visit other parts of the beach further away which is nice to see as well.
