Cookstown Antique Market

Antique store
Shopping
The Cookstown Antique Market is a must-visit destination, housed in a century-old barn with 6,000 square feet of retail space and featuring 35 antique dealers. The market offers an impressive selection of furniture, decor, housewares, antique hardware, doors, windows, and lighting. Visitors rave about the friendly and reliable staff who provide excellent customer service. Many have made it a tradition to visit regularly due to the fair prices and the thrill of discovering treasures with each visit.
This is the best antique market I've been to! What a wonderful selection of hand-selected pieces. Each section is carefully displayed and everything seemed organized and unique. The vibe of the old barn is wonderful and we had a great morning going through all the pieces. The cashier was lovely and I will absolutely be back! Highly recommend checking this place out

Got a cool wind up clock here!!! Reasonable and fair price, friendly service. Even though they could not tell me too much about the clock, they dated it around the 40s-50s but upon looking it up at home, it was closer to 60s-70s model. Still a cool experience as someone who enjoys clocks, plus plenty of options/price points for other items! Definitely worth stopping by to take a look at all the cool stuff they have :)
Pepper J — Google review
One of the best antique markets I’ve been to in Ontario. Really well laid out and the old barn interior is so cool. I spent over an hour just browsing. Will definitely be back :)
Kenzie M — Google review
Smaller antique market that has a good variety of items. Each seller has a booth and prices are decent. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable Two floors of shopping and good amount of parking
Zippy — Google review
Love a good wander through an antique store! Bad traffic on the 400 hwy so we detoured down highway 27 and found this gem. Great antique store, we will be back!
Meagan H — Google review
Sign posted in booth for 20% off. Woman at cash said sale was over weeks ago. Vendor didn’t take sign down. She removed the sign right in front of me and said she did not have to honour anything. I had her call the vendor they did not want to honour their posted sign either but they may not have even been on the line. I wouldn’t doubt it. I guess the vendor hadn’t had a sale in weeks if I was the first to buy something. If I was a vendor who hadn’t made a sale in “weeks” I sure would have honoured my mistake. The place is only 5000 sq ft. How can an owner and vendor forget to remove a sign for “weeks”? Sign reads SUMMER SALE with no date!! It is summer!! Bad business practice. Would not recommend this to any collectors. Further to your response.... You are the owners of the store. The actions of your vendors reflect your reputation and establishment. If you are condoning your vendors to not honour their posted signs it is on you whether you own the inventory or not. Your establishment is not that big. Your employee knew right away when I said it was 20% off that the sale was over. As owners and staff it is also up to you to walk your store and remove any signs that are no longer valid. No excuses! Bottom line, very poor business practice and false advertising on you and your vendor.

Loved the place!!! Will definitely be back. They have sanitizers and they monitor the people inside the building for the pandemic. The lady working there was so cool and fun which added greatly to the experience. Wvwrything is well spaced out and most things are in pristine condition!! Lots of selections from collectors items to furniture. Worth visiting!!

Really cool store, tons of selection although have to say, the older woman working there was quite rude and unfriendly.

We were there about 5 days ago, over the weekend. Lovely, big park with lots of trees. The lake water is clear and clean. Great pathway to walk or jog on. Lots of park benches along the pathway to sit kn and enjoy the view. Plenty of picnic tables open and available. The Gordon Lightfoot statue is in good condition. Nearby beach available to swim and play. Free public restrooms available. Plenty of parking available. Two baseball fields are there, one of them was occupied with people playing a game. Squirrels, chipmunks, swans, ducks, geese can be seen. Highly recommend this park, and a great place for a date or to bring family, or just be own your own and relax. Calm and peaceful.

Great experience. The vew of the lake was beautiful. Plenty of benches. The kids' play area was very good. Overall enjoyed the visit.

Best place for fall scenic view, about 20-25 mins walk through trails along couchiching lake. We have visited on Oct 20, it was full foliage.
Sukanya A — Google review
This should be the pride of Orillia. What a beautifully manicured park with recreational facilities, multi-use trails, and tons of benches, right on the shores of Lake Couchiching. Check out the Gordon Lightfoot tributes for some extra points of interest.

Had a pit stop here on the way back to Ajax, nice park with good areas for Picnics, if it wasn't super cold would have had a longer walk around. The beach area looks great too. Need to come back when the weather is better.
Caroline B — Google review
Absolutely one of the best family parks I've been to. The Slash On floating waterpark was a blast. 2 hours for $20 and life jacket rental is included in the price. Book/Pay online in advance at splashon.ca and choose Orillia location or Barrie
Holly P — Google review
Wonderful place for walking weather with your dog or a friend. Big beach and splash pad on super hot days like today. Big plus plenty of free parking. Sandwiched between Lake Simcoe and lake Couchaching the views are breathtaking.
Juliana B — Google review
Great location, good beach. The water is only a few feet deep and it has artificial sand, so no rocks. Only the one change station, community rooms not private rooms. No wash up pipe to wash the sand from your feet. The chip truck and ice cream store are onsite which helps.

Casino Rama

Mentioned on

Casino
Casinos & Gambling
Casino Rama is a renowned casino and entertainment complex situated in Rama, Ontario, Canada. It offers a variety of amenities including refined suites, live music, multiple dining options, a rooftop patio, and a spa. The casino boasts an extensive gaming floor with over 2,500 slot machines and more than 100 table games. Additionally, it is known for hosting impressive concerts and providing exceptional customer service.
We visited Casino Rama for the UB40 concert and had such a great time! From the moment we checked in, the staff made everything easy and enjoyable. We checked in around 10a.m and the front desk team was so pleasant, helpful, and accommodating and made us feel so welcome. Housekeeping was friendly and efficient - we needed extra towels and they not only sent them up quickly, but brought them in and organized them for us! Even the concert staff stood out — so cheerful which really added to the fun. The hotel was spotless. Our room super clean and beautifully set up. The pool area was a highlight — bright, clean, and well-stocked with towels. The hot tub was perfect after a long drive, and while the sauna wasn’t in service, it honestly didn’t take away from how nice the space was. We had dinner at St. Germain’s Steakhouse and it was excellent. The food was delicious, and the service was surprisingly fast for such a busy spot. Overall, everything about the stay felt smooth and enjoyable. Can’t wait to start planning my next visit!
Patricia O — Google review
We had a great time! Our room was upgraded to a jr suite, which was awesome. It was huge, comfortable and very nice. The pool area and sauna/steam rooms were perfect after a long day of walking the casino floor. The property was really nice too, lots of apple trees down the walking trail.
Jason L — Google review
Amazing resort. I am not much for gambling, but really enjoy the concert venue. Rooms are beautiful, very clean and spacious. Great staff. Food at Match Restaurant is excellent (we didn’t get to try the others). Tim’s on site is open 24 hrs. Lovely shops as well featuring local indigenous artists. Well worth the drive!
Janice P — Google review
The hotel is very nice, and decorated beautifully. Room was large and clean. Plenty of restaurants to choose from, some at reasonable prices. I'm not really a casino person but it seemed ok but hate to see live dealers replaced with machines on craps and roulette.
Mitch V — Google review
Rama Casino is definitely one of the best casinos in Ontario. It’s a great spot for entertainment and enjoyment, especially for spending weekends. The gaming platforms are exciting, and if played properly, there’s a good chance of getting returns and having fun at the same time. The only area I’d say could improve is the complimentary drinks — taste-wise, they aren’t the best quality. Otherwise, everything else is excellent. Overall, I would give it a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Bibi M — Google review
I'm writing to express my gratitude for the incredible experience I had during my recent stay at your establishment. I was thoroughly impressed by the beautiful building and event space, the fantastic restaurants, and the sheer opulence of the rooms and suites. The casino was also a highlight, and the complimentary $10 card was a thoughtful touch that enhanced the experience. Thank you again for providing such a high level of service and a memorable stay. I look forward to returning soon.
Ryan J — Google review
Loved this place! The casino was lively and clean, and the staff were super friendly. The concert hall inside is amazing — great sound, comfy seating, and such a fun vibe. Perfect spot for a night of music and entertainment! There is also plenty of free parking around the casino!

My family and I recently visited Casino Rama with our children. While our experience initially had a few challenges (through no fault of the hotel), I wanted to take a moment to highlight the outstanding customer service we received from Crystal Wilson. Crystal was incredibly understanding and empathetic when we shared our concerns. Her professionalism and genuine care made a significant difference in turning our experience around. It’s clear that your team truly values its guests and goes above and beyond to ensure they feel heard and supported. Casino Rama is a beautiful resort, and thanks to the exceptional service we received, we’re very much looking forward to returning. I highly recommend it as a wonderful getaway destination.

This is a very nice park for anyone to enjoy. We went for a long walk right on the waterfront and stopped to workout at the outdoor workout stations along the way. There are benches and washrooms available. Parking is easy and close to the walking path. From the park there are many coffee shops and restaurants in walking distance. There was a large playground for children as well.

Spirit Catcher

Mentioned on
9 lists
Sculpture
Sights & Landmarks
Nestled along the picturesque shores of Kempenfelt Bay, the Spirit Catcher stands as a striking 21-metre kinetic sculpture that draws inspiration from indigenous mythology, particularly the thunderbird. Crafted by artist Ron Baird for Expo 86 in Vancouver, this impressive piece was later donated to enhance Barrie's artistic landscape and installed in 1987. Today, it serves as a prominent landmark and cultural symbol for both locals and visitors alike.
The Barrie Spirit Catcher is an iconic and mesmerizing landmark along Kempenfelt Bay. Its towering metal wings are not only a stunning piece of art but also a symbol of the city’s Indigenous heritage and vibrant spirit. A must-see spot for anyone visiting Barrie—especially at sunrise or sunset, when it stands beautifully against the sky.🍂
Gurkamal S — Google review
Great place to reflect on Canadian history and have a moment of reflection. Ron Baird's Spirit Catcher. He states that the inspiration for his sculpture stemmed from the oral traditions of the Anishinaabe. I photographed this sculpture using a Kodak Brownie Bullet. This camera was manufactured in the same year that numerous residential schools opened their doors. For example the "Amos Indian Residential School" (1955-1973) was essentially a concentration camp where thousands of innocent children were mercilessly abused at the hands of the Church. When I removed the film roll my finger slipped and the 127 spool loosened a lot. They allowed for massive light leaks and caused major damage before I secured it. The damage to the film stock is indicative of the damage done to the European and Anishinaabe relationship. Furthermore the light leaks appear as if they are erasing the sculpture much like Canada's efforts to erase Indigenous people.
Douglas J — Google review
I was very impressed with experiencing the Spirit Catcher. I received my new spirit from there. Barrie is an amazing place to visit. I love ❤️ it so much and will visit again with my family 👪 I visited today with Kumar & Mark 📌 Kumar is the owner of Soldier Gear and Mark 🚩 is the Barber at Soldier Gear also. Mark gave me a cut & shave and his work is worth $100 for the excellent job he did. Very impressed 😮 and now he is my Barber for Life. Great Job Soldier Gear ⚙️ Keep up the Excellent customer service experience.

There is nothing but one sculpture, for that will have to pay 10 dollars for just one hour parking. Does not worth it
He H — Google review
The Spirit Catcher sculpture in Barrie, Ontario, is a striking symbol of the city's vibrant arts and culture scene. Designed by artist Ron Baird, this iconic structure stands tall at the waterfront, resembling a large bird with outstretched wings. Its dynamic form and gleaming steel construction make it a captivating focal point along the scenic shoreline of Kempenfelt Bay. The Spirit Catcher serves as a beacon of inspiration and creativity, inviting visitors to contemplate its beauty and significance. Whether admired from afar or explored up close, this beloved sculpture embodies the spirit of Barrie and is a must-see attraction for locals and tourists alike. Parking is available
Ahsaan R — Google review
The Spirit Catcher- the big sculpture is little on the hill. So view was great! And also a harbor was there. So can see many boats too. Parking lot fee is $1 a hour.
Miho H — Google review
Beautiful boardwalk, so in love with it: excellent for family times, biking, long walking (I did 10 km back and forth). With the autumn, you don't even notice that you do the workout : it's so beautiful out there
Rose-Marie F — Google review
Very big metal statue of a thunderbird called Spirit Catcher donated in 1986. Created by Artist Ron Baird. Looks rustic. Parking is available right beside the statue but it is not free. We came in the winter months and the path is not clear so you have to climb over snowbanks if you want to get closer to the plaques to read information about the art installation. It’s a good 5 min break or for a quick drive by as a point of interest if you happen to be in the area.

Nestled in the heart of Barrie, Ontario, Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery is a must-visit for beer enthusiasts. This local gem offers a vibrant setting and a unique selection of craft beers. Visitors can enjoy free tours with tastings and explore the small shop on-site. Known for their wild and eccentric beers, Flying Monkeys produces some of the most creatively designed cans in Ontario's brewery scene.
Great place to get craft beer! The place is colourful and their beers are as colourful! They host a free tour on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) at 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm, & 4 pm. Max of 8 people, first come, first served. We did that and it was good! It last for approx 45-1hr, and they talk about the history of flying monkeys and how to make a beer! We came back late at night to check the vibe and they have live performances. Staff are friendly, they have gender neutral washrooms.
April T — Google review
I went to this place for lunch and ordered a meat sandwich, but unfortunately, it was pretty disappointing. It sounded great on the menu, but it lacked flavor and didn’t live up to the description. The atmosphere also didn’t feel right for a relaxed lunch. The place is right by the street, so it’s very noisy, and there were several moments when people experiencing homelessness walked by asking for something. It made the experience a bit uncomfortable. I got the sense that it’s more of a nighttime spot, and to be fair, they do have a good selection of beers. Maybe it’s better to visit in the evening, but for lunch, it really didn’t hit the mark.
Monny G — Google review
This is the best brewery in Barrie. The venue is immaculate with the band posters on the roof and really just every inche of the place covered in something cool. Drinks are fantastic and food is delicious. If you are looking for breweries I would recommend stopping in!
Connor P — Google review
Flying Monkey is a visual treat to visit, the best looking place on that main street in Barrie! And not only that, they got some fine quality beverages for you to enjoy there OR take home. Now, they already had the best chocolate beer in the market with their Chocolate Manifesto, but they got a seasional chocolate stout sample box you can only really get there?!? I'm all in on that! Not a hard drinker? No worries. Their flavoured seltzers are rather nice too! Haven't had the chance to try the food, but there's always a happy looking crowed and a sweet patio there so i'm sure its pretty good. Cheers!
Shaggy S — Google review
First and foremost, I highly recommend doing their free weekend tours. The staff there are really nice, and knowledgeable about their drinks, including the process and factory. We explored the entire back door of the brewery and saw how their drinks and products are made, the history and some other near facts. The restaurant is pretty hip, their beers are packaged in very artistic and abstract Designs which are very eye catching. It's worth stopping by Flying Monkeys if you're visiting the Barrie area!
E G — Google review
What an amazing place but most importantly hell of a great beer. Atmosphere is uplifting, very colorful place and the live music was a hit. The pretzel was out of this world and the sausage board to die for. Good job Flying Monkeys 👏🏻💪🏻👍🏻
Angel C — Google review
It was more than a brewery but an experience!! You could stay for a week and still see something new. Great selection of beers for all tastes and I highly recommend the smashed burger. Best I’ve ever had!!
Jennifer B — Google review
I started with the Birdyard sandwich, which was absolutely delicious, and the fries were among my favourites—crispy and perfectly seasoned. However, I was quite disappointed with the tacos. The tortilla was unfortunately dry, tough, and had an off-putting smell, reminiscent of the kind served at the New former nightclub in Downtown Barrie. The combination of pickled ingredients, sweet jalapeños, and sour cream created a flavour profile that felt unbalanced to me—almost like baby reflux in taste and texture. That said, the service was excellent and the atmosphere vibrant and upbeat. Chef, please don’t take this the wrong way—fusion and street food can be incredible when the flavours are thoughtfully combined. I wish you the best of luck with your next creation and look forward to seeing how the menu evolves.

They have huge parking lots. Its a really nice beach for relaxing and having a little swim. My kids really loved the little train ride. Plenty of picnic tables are placed everywhere in the park. There should be more shower and changing areas available. Kids play area is really nice with lots if optionsz

2024 September 2.5★ Located near the port, this beach is small and has a lot of pebbles. A small playground and washrooms are available, but really, It's just an ok beach. It would be better if the beach was combed and rocks removed. No dog signs are around, but you still see them there. People need to be more considerate for everyone and at the very least, pick up after your dog. Otherwise, the waters are ok. Overall, the beach is fine for those in the area. However, not quite a place to venture on to.

It's such a beautiful beach park in Orillia. Water is so clean, almost transparent. Sand was so nice. The water was cold but still we enjoyed this beautiful beach a lot. All the areas in the park, slides, and picnic shelter all were very nice and clean. We look forward to returning here again!!

After lunch we took a stroll down to the waterfront in Orilla, and to our surprise it was absolutely beautiful. This was our first time visiting the waterfront. There were plenty of trails to walk, a couple of sandy beach spots with public washrooms/change rooms, a fantastic kids jungle gym, splash pad and an outdoor theatre. Plenty of picnic tables and beautiful grounds to have a picnic with your family and friends. There were many options for snacks and ice cream to purchase, and the nearby restaurants are a short walk.

Beautiful beach located in Orilia. A great place for the family. Kids can enjoy the small park, a short train ride and safe swimming for all to enjoy. Well maintained area (clean bathrooms facilities, and green areas). Enjoy admiring the boats along the water horizon. With a welcoming community, this beach park is a must to visit with the family!

The entire waterfront was under construction, part of the Centennial was closed. Managed to find a parking near the railway for kids. The scenery along the boardwalk was beautiful. Still in late May, not many boats in the water yet. A little windy, pretty quiet.

It was an amazing experience snow tubing. The place is also great for skiing, with everything very well-maintained and organized. Booking tickets online in advance is highly recommended to secure your spot. In 2 hours, we managed to enjoy 5 rounds of snow tubing. Overall, an amazing experience, and can’t wait to visit again

Tried Snow Valley out because they were running the Wednesday night Slide and Dine promo. It was the best value for skiing I've had in years! $35 gets you a evening lift pass and dinner with a drink. We had poutine, and it was delicious. The ski conditions were great. Lots of fresh powder and nicely groomed hills. We never waited more than 5 minutes for a chairlift, in fact most times there was no lineups at all! The runs are short and nothing too challenging, but we had a really fun time! The chalet had nice wood fires burning to warm up by and dry out your gear. Thought it was a nice touch. Will definitely return again. Free parking right in front of the chalet too! We skied right to the car :)

My daughter and I had a blast during our visit. Weekday all day! Staff are super friendly and helpful. Clean and organized. We were going up and down until 4:30 in the afternoon. Will definitely be back!

Had a lovely day skiing. Nice groomed hills and all the staff I encountered were lovely and helpful. I find the price is a bit steep for tickets and rentals. I also struggled to find anything online about the food options on site making it a bit annoying to plan for the day. I also think each hill should have a marker at the beginning. Some do and some don't.

We had a great time with family. I have 2 kids, 1 above 42 inch (8 years old) and the other one under 42 inch (3 years old). A lot of resorts around us don’t have options for little ones, which is why we chose to go here. The older one had the best time ever and so did the little one, we were 4 adults and 2 kids. We went on a weekday so we took 5 all day passes above 42 inch and 1 all day pass under 42. We alternated spending time at the kidz zone while the other ones enjoyed the big slide. The wait time was nothing for the big tubing slides. At one point I was even able to go up and down in 10 minutes. Weekdays are the best. The slides were fun enough for a 3 years old. The 2 zones, are right beside each other and beside the cafeteria so it works out perfectly. The whole family had fun. The only negative point was the wait at the cafeteria, more than 30 minutes just to order food and then you have to wait for the food.

Came on a Monday and got all day passes for snow tubing since we didn't realize the 2-hour passes aren't sold on this day. We ended spending 3 and a half hours so it worked out. The snow falling during our visit was so beautiful too! There was at least one school field trip here at the same time but despite that, the process of getting up the lift and taking turns to snow tube down are pretty organized. Giving 5/5 stars for all the kind and courteous employees. A special shout out to the employee who we requested to push us as hard as he could down the steepest hill. He delivered and we sped and spun down the hill for our last ride of the day which was so fun. Thanks again man!!

Great place to visit with friends and family. We did the tubing and it was on a weekend. We were able to do so many turns and it was a smooth experience. The staff is amazing considering they’re out in the cold through out the day but they’re always smiling and nice to everyone. Had a great time!

Tubing is fun here at Snow Valley Ski Resort. We did not buy our ticket online as we are not sure if Monday is open for tubing. But I recommend that you buy a ticket ahead of time as there is no assurance that you can get to the location. The lady was really nice on that day. She allows us to get in and have a ticket from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm for $45.00 each person. Is it worth it? Yes, it does. We have so much fun!

Horseshoe Resort, located just outside of Barrie, offers a mix of alpine and Nordic skiing experiences. The resort provides convenient ski-in/ski-out accommodations and is equipped with top-notch facilities for both cross-country and downhill skiing. In addition to its 26 ski runs, the resort boasts four restaurants and a range of winter activities for families to enjoy. The hotel rooms are spacious and well-maintained, while the condos offer modern amenities and stunning views.
Horseshoe resort was our home base for a weekend of adaptive mountain biking. We were well taken care of by the whole crew. They went out of their way to make the location wheelchair accessible and comfortable for our large group and families to stay for the weekend. The service at the patio and restaurant was fantastic. We had the opportunity to test out their bike patrol first aid services and they were top notch too! Thank you for welcoming our group, we will definitely be back 😊

We enjoyed our stay here during March break for a ski vacation. The hill is nice and well maintained and the cost was good for the ski package. The pool is nice but a bit crowded as they allow people from off resort to use it. The food is the low point see my review on that below.

Rooms are outdated. Definitely not for adults. We tried the “glow in the dark” mini golfing, and it was just strips of coloured LED lights. We had to hold our flashlights to play. Kayaking was fine. However, we got tickets for 10 people and when we got to the water, they didn’t have enough kayaks. They should have told us in advance that they wouldn’t have enough. Also, everything closes pretty early. Spend your money elsewhere.

We stayed in a loft room in the hotel. The room is dated and was not cleaned very well. For the price we paid it was extremely disappointing. The railing up to the loft is all chipped and the carpeted stairs are dirty. There are stains on every piece of furniture. Honesty, I really did not want to sit on them. There were chips left under the chair in front of the fireplace from the previous guest, and the stairs were dirty going down to the fireplace. The bathrooms and bed seemed clean. The service was amazing. The food at the Crazy Horse restaurant was excellent. I was extremely disappointed to see all the shampoo, conditioner, body wash and soap made in China... Can you not support a Canadian Company in any province???

We did not stay overnight. We spent the day this past summer, experince are abundant and staffs are friendly. We did the mining experiment, ski lift, wall climbing, pulled tube on the beach, mini golf. And we did treetop trekking with separate cost. Perfect activity for family
Astrid K — Google review
The hotel stay was nice but you will not get to enjoy privacy of the amenities like the pool and hot tub because the residents that had special need (autism) will be in your face (closer than 30cm) constantly asking what your favourite colour is and not listening to you at the same time, while following you around. Their care givers will not do anything because they expect you to give extra attention otherwise you’re not a good person. I feel for the families that have special need children and I respect them, but following this incident I feel the individuals monopolized the area where others have to give out their rights in order to make ways for the special needs. Edit: in response to the owner’s comment, please review the fact that the disabled individuals (male) are constantly FOLLOWING girls around, intruding a safe distance and CORNERING the girls to “answer their questions”. If expecting the least bit of help and support is called “wanting exclusivity” then I have no words. Putting the victim in blame because the other party is disabled discarded the last bit of expectation that the management and security of the resort can do the right thing. Best of luck!

Horseshoe resort didn't meet our expectations.Old building needs renovation. Dirty, stained armchairs in the lobby. Crowded small outdoor pool. Five 🌟 to staff and one to a manager. Breakfast isn't included. At the front desk, was one staff member who was doing a job for two. There is no beach,it's a small pond for kids to play. For the same amount of money that we had to spent here, we decided to go to Dominican all-inclusive next time. And 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟🌟 to staff. Young guys are doing a really great job there!
Briana K — Google review
Just finished a 3 day/2 night stay in a slope side room. Staff have always been friendly, food at the Iron Horse is good but a bit pricy and we had to wait about 45 minutes for dinner. When we entered our room and had ice cubes fall on the floor I wiped the floor and it was so dirty. We couldn’t walk bare foot in the room as your feet were filthy from the dirty floors. Don’t think they had been moped or it was the same dirty water used from other room. Quite disappointing for paying $856 for 2 nights. My real concern is we killed 2 cockroaches at 3:30am and when I informed the desk at check out there was no discussion or offer of discount etc. The back 9 on the golf course is horrendous as there is no irrigation and it’s been a dry summer. Even the greens are brown and the ground is all cracked. They shouldn’t be charging people for 18 holes when only 1/2 of the course is what I’d call a golf course. Golf price definitely needs to be adjusted to the cost of only 9 holes.

Had the best day on the Wenonah II today! Seven years in a row! 🛳️ Drinks and food available, the narrator on the ship, Richard was so informative and funny! The boat is clean and beautiful, great for photo opportunities. The bartender Karly was absolutely sweet and pleasant and made the trip the best! Our favourite trip to take in the summer in Muskoka. A must see!!

We had such an amazing time on the Muskoka Steamship "Pirate" Boat Trip! I went with my 6-year-old daughter and her grandparents, and it was the perfect family outing. The experience was so fun and interactive, the crew did a fantastic job keeping the kids entertained the whole time. It was also budget-friendly, with affordable drink options on board. I loved that there were lots of seating choices both inside and outside, so you could enjoy the beautiful views no matter the weather. The boat was also accessible, with washrooms and even an elevator on board, which was great. This is such a fantastic family vacation idea, and there’s lots to see and do in the area before or after your cruise. We would definitely go back ... highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun, affordable, and memorable day with the family!

Today, we had the pleasure of taking a delightful 2.5-hour cruise on the beautiful Lake Muskoka. The weather couldn’t have been better—warm sunshine, calm waters, and fresh air all around. The entire journey was accompanied by captivating stories told by our knowledgeable guide. Lake Muskoka is truly vast, stretching roughly 30 kilometers long and 10 kilometers wide, with depths reaching up to 70 meters in many places. The cruise departed from Gravenhurst, just about 150 kilometers north of Toronto—a perfect distance for a day trip. What makes this lake so unique is not just its size, but the sheer number of islands scattered across its waters—each with its own charm and story. At one point during the cruise, we sailed through a narrow channel between two islands, only 9 meters wide. The ship passed so close to the shores that it felt like you could reach out and touch the trees. It was magical. This incredible experience was made possible by Muskoka Steamships, a company that operates two historic vessels on the lake. One of the ships is an astonishing 125 years old and still proudly cruising. Both offer a variety of tours—with or without meals on board—and provide an unforgettable way to explore this iconic Canadian destination. We loved every minute of it. The cruise, the scenery, the stories—it was all absolutely worth it.

Muskoka Brewery

Brewery
Food & Drink
Muskoka Brewery, established in 1996, is a renowned craft beer producer offering free daily tours. Visitors can explore the brewing process, visit the lab to ensure quality standards, and sample beers in the taproom. Located in Bracebridge, Ontario, it's a popular spot for beer enthusiasts. The brewery is known for its cream ale and Detour IPA.
Muskoka Brewery is a legend. There's no denying its influence or that of its well known Mad Tom line of IPAs. However, their Festbier, a German Oktoberfest amber lager is out-of-this-world! Darker than expected for a lager (that would be the amber part of its parentage) the festbier is full-bodied, leaning more heavily towards the malty characteristics of an amber than a lager. The Winter Beard nitro stout is that rare creature -- a light, creamy, almost effervescent stout that bubbles with life without being too sweet.

Muskoka Brewery is a great stop if you’re in the area. They’ve got a solid selection of drinks to choose from, whether you're into craft beer or just trying something new. The place has a relaxed, vacation-y vibe — perfect for a casual afternoon. They also have some really cute merch and even a few fun, fragrant hand soaps that caught my attention. All in all, it’s a cozy, welcoming spot that fits right in with the laid-back Muskoka feel. And don’t forget to play a quick round of cornhole while you’re there P.S. — the images isn’t of the brewery itself, it’s from the Muskoka cruise — just wanted to share the overall feel of the place!

Was a fantastic stop on our way to Algonquin! Awesome beer selection and a cozy, welcoming vibe. The tall guy behind the bar was on another level. I accidentally ordered the wrong drink, and he immediately offered to replace it without any hesitation. I tried the beer flight with the bartender’s choice, and you could tell he really put thought into the selection. It really made my day after a long drive from Waterloo.

I like the IPAs from Muskoka Brewery. We had two flights, the IPA and the Adventurer. The Pineapple Ninja is very fruity. Love the Hazed, juicy IPA. However, I favourite is the Nitro Latte, the foam is very creamy and actually tasted like coffee. They don’t have much food options there as the food truck isn’t there, so we had to settle for the pretzel with beer dip. I feel like the pretzel was just heated up by a microwave, and it is very tasty with all the salt sprinkled on top, the dip is also very salty, maybe they want you to consume more beer that way. However, with the pretty and dip at $17, I really would recommend people to stay away from it.

Visitors can enjoy thrilling activities like go-karts, mini-golf, zip-lining, and rock-climbing while also taking part in seasonal events such as dog shows and Hawaiian luaus.
It was our first time at Santa Village, and the kids had an absolute blast — and so did the parents! This is truly a must-visit destination for families with young children. Despite the sunny weather, the festive atmosphere and all the rides kept everyone entertained. There’s a great variety of attractions, especially for toddlers, and everything is very family-friendly. The highlight for us was seeing Santa and Mrs. Claus outside, warmly greeting every visitor — such a magical touch! The Yeti Ride was definitely a favorite for our family. We’re already planning to come back in winter to experience the full Christmas vibe. Highly recommended for a magical family outing!

I went to Santa’s Village with my family and honestly, I had never heard of it before. When we arrived, I was really surprised by how much fun it was! The new Yeti roller coaster was a blast — my kids loved it and we went on it many, many times. The whole place has a great family vibe and lots to do for kids of all ages. Just a heads up, there are only a few food stands, so it’s best to plan ahead and line up early for lunch before the crowds. Overall, it was a fantastic family day and we’ll definitely be back!

10 Stars, great place to take the family, likely to be enjoyed by kids under 10 but still great for all, staff at all the rides and venues are super friendly not like most Carneys, only food is extra and a few additional like Elf ID card etc, not constant cash grab , there is a gift shop at entrance/ exit. Food was good, rides were good and Yeti coaster was excellent. Great value for your money, free parking even, went on a Saturday and no wait in any line, absolutely amazing experience. Recommend 100%

We had an amazing time at Santa Village! The natural surroundings are absolutely beautiful — tall trees, fresh air, and a peaceful atmosphere that makes it feel like a true getaway from the city. It’s the perfect place for families, especially with young kids. The attractions are really well done and fun for all ages. Our children had a blast exploring all the rides and activities. Everything felt safe, clean, and well-organized. What really stood out to us was the Halloween event — it was magical! The decorations, costumes, and themed activities created such a fun and spooky atmosphere without being too scary for the little ones. It was clear that a lot of thought and effort went into making it special. Santa Village is a fantastic destination for a day trip or weekend adventure with the family. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Spent the day at Santa's Village with the family. An annual trip to Santa's Village is a family tradition and we always look forward to it. The weather was hot today but it didn't bother us at all as we were able to remain cool thanks to the breeze coming off the water and blowing through the trees. That is one of the things I love about Santa's Village, that it is nestled in amongst the trees along the riverside. The rides are great and the natural setting is a beautiful bonus. This visit we were able to test out the new roller-coaster The Yeti! It got two thumbs up from every member of the family except the youngest. We also rode on our family favourite rides like Santa's Summer Sleigh, The train, and the Pepermint Penguin. We decided to give the Yule Log a try for lunch and we're pleasantly surprised. Service was fast and friendly and there was something on the menu to please everyone. Added bonus was the AC and washrooms inside. The highlight of Papa's day was attending Elf School. A fun time was had by all! It is always worth the drive to Bracebridge as every summer needs a bit of Christmas magic!

Fantastic Halloween visit at Santa’s Village—festive, friendly, and perfectly not‑too‑scary for kids. The Pumpkin in the Pines trail, cheerful inflatables, and riverside photo spots made it feel truly magical, and staff kept lines moving and areas spotless. Big thumbs up for the new Yeti Trek coaster: smooth, zippy, and just the right dose of thrills for families without being intimidating. Five stars for a well‑run, memory‑making fall day—we’ll be back!

We stopped here on our way to Huntsville and had such a great time! I visited as a kid, but it was even better coming back with my family. Our daughter loved every part of the day—especially the elf training! The rides were a lot of fun for the whole family, and the staff was so friendly and welcoming. The lines weren’t too bad, and we were pleasantly surprised that the food and ice cream were very reasonably priced. The Yeti Trek Rollercoaster is definitely a must-do! Amazing Fun for the Whole Family! We had an absolute blast at Wasaga 500! The Go-Karts were incredible, the 2 KM track was so much fun, and the karts reached speeds up to 40 KPH, making it super exciting for both kids and adults. The track was well-designed, and the karts felt safe yet thrilling! We also tried their mini-golf, and it was fantastic! The course had creative obstacles, and the whole setup was clean and well-maintained. The kids loved it, and we had so much fun playing as a family. The kids and I made this summer the summer we did all of the mini golf courses in Wasaga Beach. We rated them in 6 different categories out of 50 points. We tackled both courses here and loved them! The adults loved the nostalgic vibes to the course. Things were clean and we appreciated the ability to do other activities, use clean washrooms and have food. Pricing is fair and staff are welcoming. We liked the benches on the course as it allowed our teen with a disability to sit as needed. The only downside is having to drive through by the beach to get there but it’s worth it!

What a summer fun hot-spot! We took our two boys (aged 8 and 10) and they had a blast at the batting cages and go karts. Didn’t try the mini putt but would have if we had more time. What stood out was the staff who were all so friendly and energetic! Would definitely recommend and go back!

Great track. Very long and in good shape. They do it differently. You buy lap tickets. And each time you complete a long lap you slow down and give them a ticket and continue the race. I would love a way to just keep going around and around but doing it this way keeps people able to enter in without any line up as it's very fast pace even when it is very busy. Lots of carts in great working order. It's expencive but go carting is a novelty. You go for the experience, not to save money. Lots of staff keeps things moving well. This place looks great and has a great old school vibe.

We visited Skull Island on a cooler day this summer with our group of five adults, two kids under 8, and a baby, and we honestly had the best time! We love Skull Island… it’s forever been the place we go. The theme is so on point and we love shaved ice!!! Our only critiques would be the lack of seating for our teen with mobility issues and the garbage on the course sometimes this summer.

Great atmosphere & fun the whole family. I came here last week with a friend. The course is fun to look at, all the water, the greens were very clean and they even have little clipboards to hold your scorecard & pencil! Nice detail. However, the course was not challenging. All except 18 are par 3 but we did most of them in 1-2. This makes it great for kids and families but if you’re an experienced mini golf fan, don’t be surprised if breeze through all 18 holes.

No proper sings up for pay parking. After writing me a ticket they said I’d still have to pay for parking to not get another ticket. They have so many law enforcers to write parking ticket and not a single person cleaning the broken glass all over the beach. I Picked up so many where my family was sitting. I hope the use the parking ticket money to clean up the beach to make it safer for families. Not coming here again.

Attended the Tribute Legends show and a bit of gambling. The show was very enjoyable and the theatre was sold out. The casino offers a good variety of plays however noticeable less winners from when in the hands of previous owners. The selection of artist appears to have changed, more country and comedians, neither of which are my choice. No matter where you sit viewing is acceptable, aided by the 2 large screens. I suggest if you have viewing issues, wait for all to be seated then move up to the center top rows.

Can be quiet on weekdays and bustling on weekends. Soft sand. Great for picture taking and long walks on the sand or boardwalk. Using this as a cover album for my dad’s YouTube video. 🔥 beautiful ❤️

The beach was kept nice and clean aside from the naturally occurring debris from nature, no trash or anything on the beaches. As for the washrooms part of the main beach, not the provincial side was under construction or renovation it was kept fairly clean.

Super fun and relaxing day, even considering the construction going on nearby. Water was clean and sand was raked. Unfortunately saw some diapers on the beach. Lots of washrooms available which makes me very happy as a girl haha. Not too busy either which also makes me happy

Wasaga Beach, one is undergoing major construction. However, the beach is open, and they do have a couple of stores near the West end of the beach that are open, as well as a rooftop patio. Food stands and trucks are located by the east end of the beach in the upper parking lot. ⛱️ 🍸 🍦 🌭 🍟

Wonderful place to walk and enjoy nature. Open all year long with snow shoe rentals available in the winter. I brought my lunch, a camera and a book and had the most relaxing day. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and there is a gift shop if you are interested in supporting the local artists. I ended up buying some gorgeous mugs from indigenous artists! Highly recommend you visit ❣️

We were short on time, but Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre still ended up being one of the highlights of our day! Even in a quick visit, we saw lots of animals, which was such a nice surprise. One of the staff members even brought out a bird for us to see up close – such a cool experience! All the staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. Definitely worth coming back for a longer visit next time. Great spot for nature lovers and families.

We had a wonderful at the marsh. Staff were friendly and helpful. We walked the trails which were well maintained and beautiful. At the marsh we saw turtles, frogs and lots of birds (3 lifers!). After walking, we took the canoe tour which takes about 20-30 min. it was fun to enjoy the waters in a different perspective. The highlight for me was watching some Sandhill Cranes flying above the marsh - magical! We loved it here, definitely a must see for nature and bird lovers.

Wye Marsh Wildlife Conservation Area is a beautiful place to spend the day! Admission is only $12 per person, and it’s well worth it. They do incredible work helping injured wildlife recover and survive, which makes visiting feel even more meaningful. There are lots of peaceful trails to explore and a really nice boardwalk with amazing views. A perfect mix of nature, wildlife, and relaxation

We had a fantastic time visiting Wye Marsh with our toddler. It was the perfect mix of nature, wildlife, and space to explore. Our little one loved spotting turtles, frogs, and a wide variety of birds along the trails. We even got lucky and saw some migratory cranes flying overhead, such a special moment. The marsh is peaceful and well maintained, with easy paths. It’s a great spot to slow down, breathe in the fresh air, and connect as a family. Highly recommended for anyone with young kids looking for an accessible nature experience.

I just found this hidden gem while coming back from muskoka region . I just stopped nearby to fill gas and had sometime to kill before heading home , luckly I found this place and kids loved it. Marsh land wildlife is quite different from the rest and at the end of fall season , we didn't see a lot of wildlife but place is still an experience for us.

This was such a wonderful spot to visit with the family, especially with small kids. We had a really relaxing time and loved that our dog was welcome too! Be sure to bring your own snacks since there aren’t any food vendors or vending machines around. It’s the perfect place to enjoy some time in nature, and we found the birds of prey to be absolutely fascinating to watch! You do have to pay to get in.

Martyrs' Shrine

Catholic church
Sights & Landmarks
Nestled in the picturesque town of Midland, Martyrs' Shrine has been a beacon of faith and history since its establishment in 1926. This stunning Roman Catholic church is dedicated to the Canadian Martyrs, commemorating their profound impact on the nation over four centuries. Visitors flock here annually for pilgrimage, drawn by its breathtaking hilltop views and serene atmosphere. The shrine features beautiful stained glass windows that come alive with candlelight during special events like First Light.
Our family had the blessed opportunity to visit the Martyrs’ Shrine Church, and it was truly a peaceful and spiritual experience. From the moment we entered the grounds, we felt a sense of calm and holiness. The church itself holds deep history — dedicated to the Canadian Martyrs (Jesuit missionaries) who gave their lives spreading the faith. Being in a place with such strong spiritual heritage was humbling, and learning about the relics and their significance made the visit even more meaningful. We were fortunate to attend the Holy Mass during our visit, and afterwards, we received blessings with the relics. Standing there, in the presence of such sacred treasures, felt like being embraced by the grace of God. Spending time in prayer at the feet of Mother Mary was another beautiful highlight. It was a reminder that in her care, we are always safe and loved. it was a heart-touching experience for our whole family — peaceful, faith-strengthening, and unforgettable. We left with renewed hope, joy, and a deeper closeness to God. 🙏
Shiji G — Google review
We had just gone up to visit and see the church and the overall shrine together as a family. It was recommended to us by another family member who had gone. There was a pilgrimage and they were celebrating the Virgin of Guadalupe. The space itself was magnificent. Big open fields and lots to do. We didn’t realize we could have a picnic there. We were able to bring our dog along (keep in mind, pets are not allowed inside the actual church) to walk around the overall shrine. There was lots of parking space and accessible bathrooms. The only complaint I guess I had was that entry fee was $10 per person. I know that’s not a lot but especially with a big family it got pretty costly. Otherwise beautiful place.
Tamika B — Google review
This is such a beautiful and peaceful place. The church is located on the highest hill in the area and is beautiful inside and out. Relics of the martyrs are inside and can be viewed. The grounds are well kept with several shrines and an area called "Brebeuf's Prayer Garden". What impressed me most was the canes and crutches on the walls of the shrine left by people who claim to have been healed here.

Martyrs’ Shrine is a truly special place. The church and grounds are peaceful, beautiful, and full of history. It’s a meaningful site where you can reflect, pray, or simply enjoy the serene atmosphere. The architecture is inspiring, and the staff and volunteers are welcoming and kind. Whether you visit for spiritual reasons or to learn more about the Canadian Martyrs, this shrine leaves a lasting impression. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Midland area.

Beautiful place of worship. Many friends and family have indicated their prayers have been answered when praying here. I am not of Christian faith however after visiting here for the first time I can definitely feel the energy. They have a casing of Father Brebeauf's skull which is also very unique.

Remarkably stunning and memorable, the Martyrs Catholic Church Shrine is a testament to the history and religious faith of the Canadian Martyrs. Will leave you astounded at the two reliquaries where preserved bones of the Martyrs lie and surrounding canes, crutches & others ex- votos adorn the area as witness to the healing and graces received. Beautiful and expansive grounds with parking available. On site is visitor information chalet, restaurant with optional outdoor patio and gift shop with religious relics, gorgeous rosaries, holy water and books. Suitable for young children however, access to the shrine is via stairs only and somewhat steep/ lengthy. Admission also includes “Sainte -Marie among the Hurons”, Ontario’s first European community & headquarters for the French Jesuit Mission to the Huron-Wendat people. Amenities on site. Enjoy the walk to the Sainte-Marie among the Huron through the guide footpath or by car ( across the street) with onsite parking. Enjoy a full day of history, gardens, food & exploration of both ensuring lasting memories!

The Big Chute Marine Railway stands out as a unique engineering wonder in North America, offering an unforgettable experience for boat enthusiasts and curious travelers alike. This remarkable structure lifts boats from the water and transports them over land on a specialized track system before gently lowering them back into the water, allowing their journeys to continue seamlessly. If you find yourself near Orillia, Ontario, this historic yet operational marine railway is definitely worth a visit.
Hours open at 9 am- 3 pm. We missed a boat going over, however, it was still a great place to visit. Many interesting facts printed on markers throughout your walk. It's a Provincial Park & Lock 44 on the Trent Severn Waterway. Make it part of a day exploring.

It offers a year-round venue for music, theatre, art, and cultural events. The center boasts excellent acoustics and well-lit spaces that make it an ideal setting for various performances.
During the Midland Butter Tarts festival on June 14, 2025, many visitors enjoyed freshly ground coffee and hot coffee-based drinks from TOUCH Coffee at MCC.

Great hometown theater. The Midland Cultural Center is the heart of downtown. They have great shows at great prices. It's the best place in town to have a good time!

We went to see the show at MacMillan’s and truly enjoyed the music and the band — very talented performers and a great atmosphere. Unfortunately, during intermission, we returned to our seats only to find that a group of older attendees (around 70 years old) had taken them. Since our tickets had no assigned seating, it created confusion. We waited politely, hoping they would move or that other seats would be available, but none were. With no staff and no lighting to help, we were left with the choice to either confront them or leave. Sadly, we chose to leave. It’s disappointing that something as simple as seating etiquette disrupted an otherwise enjoyable evening. Maybe next time, clearer guidance or ushers could help avoid this kind of situation.
Dan A — Google review
First live show I’ve attended at MCC. Forever Seger is a great band and their musicianship is top notch! Extremely high energy performance! I chose to see/hear this group based on Forever Seger’s online demos, which were a mix of live and studio productions. Unfortunately, the mix for this concert, in my opinion, was poor. Drums and bass severely overpowered the rest of the band. I don’t know why a drum shield was not used, nor why the bass could not be balanced with the rest of the band. The solo vocals and backup harmonies were completely negated throughout the evening, to the point where I could rarely make out the lyrics. I’m assuming that it was the MCC’s in house sound techs that were responsible. Hard to imagine, based on the YouTube videos, that the band’s personnel did the mix. I wish I could have broken my rating down in to categories. The 3 star rating in no way reflects the quality of the band. They we’re fabulous and I’d like to see them again, but in a different venue to compare the sound.

Sights & Landmarks
Lions Lookout in Huntsville, the largest city in Muskoka, is a popular spot offering breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and the city below. It's renowned for its stunning fall foliage, making it one of the best fall lookouts in Muskoka. The lookout is not only a great place to admire autumn colors but also serves as a starting point for scenic hikes. Despite being crowded at times, visitors can escape by exploring other viewpoints scattered around the hilltop.
This is a great lookout to see the city. The winding ride up the mountain was worth the effort and quite enjoyable. There is a gazebo at the top and plenty of spots to picnic. Parking is limited. The people are friendly. Take the time to read the etching on the rocks and gazebo. Whether for romantic date or family excursion, this is the spot.

Beautiful lookout, nice city view, river and the forest behind. Fall Colors where wonderful. Parking is tight on weekends. There is one parking lot on to and one at the bottom for those who done want to hike.

You don't need to purchase advance tickets to visit this place. It's free for entry and open 24 hours. You drive all the way upto the lions lookout point on the top of the hill. Their is a small parking place on top. You can also find parking lot at the entrance of the hill near lookout sign. However, I recommend drive all the way to top if you wanna skip 1km steep hike Breathtaking Fall Views at Lions Lookout is a Must-See in Huntsville! 🍁 . If you're anywhere near Huntsville in the fall, a trip to Lions Lookout is an absolute must. I visited during peak foliage season, and the views were nothing short of magical. The entire landscape was painted in vibrant shades of red, orange, and gold — it felt like stepping into a postcard! The lookout offers a panoramic view over Fairy Lake, the Muskoka River, and the town of Huntsville, all framed by rolling hills ablaze with autumn color. Whether you're a photographer, nature lover, or just out for a peaceful walk, this spot won’t disappoint. The short hike to the top is a bit steep, but it’s well worth the effort. There are benches to rest along the way and once you reach the top, the scenery makes it all worthwhile. It’s also a great place to watch the sunset over the colorful treetops. **Tip:** Try to go on a clear day for the best visibility, and bring a camera — you’ll want to capture this view. Highly recommend visiting during the fall. It’s one of the most beautiful places in Muskoka to experience the changing leaves! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Sirish C — Google review
Really nice when you got up to the top, you can drive up and park there where space are still available or park below and hike up to the lookout (shuttle train in summer months). Be sure to check out the scenery in various directions; beautiful view of Huntsville and Fairy Lake especially in the fall.
DY L — Google review
Worth the hike. DONOT take your car up but park at the community centre there, if you don’t hike, you miss the on road fall wonders. Most beautiful pictures ever taken there by us. Will visit again and again. It’s a free point, no ticket required.

A great lookout for Fairy Lake and Huntville downtown. Spectacular view in the Autumn. Parking is limited on the top. It is better to park at the foothill and take a stroll to the top
John P — Google review
Do NOT go on a weekend 💀 The traffic was from the bottom of the hill to the top parking lot We luckily made a U-turn and parked somewhere else near by and made the walk up the hill which I wouldn’t recommend for anyone with mobility issues or seniors When I left to walk down the hill people were still in traffic going up the hill that I recognized when I was walking up, they didn’t get very much farther along. The actual viewing area is very over crowded. View is decent.
Alice — Google review
Lion’s Lookout is a lovely spot with great views over Huntsville, but be prepared for some parking challenges—especially on holidays or long weekends. The parking lot at the top can get quite crowded and there’s often a bit of traffic going up. If you don’t mind a short uphill walk, parking at the Heritage Place lot is a good alternative—it’s not far, though the slope is a bit steep. Funny enough, it always seems to be cloudy or rainy whenever I visit, so I haven’t seen the view on a perfectly clear day yet—that’s my little regret. Still, Huntsville is such a charming town that I always enjoy coming back.

Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery is a must-visit destination in the region, offering a delightful culinary experience. The winery is part of Johnston's Cranberry Marsh, a local institution with deep roots dating back to the 1950s. Visitors can sign up for the Bog to Bottle Discovery tour to witness the process of growing Canadian fruits and their transformation into wine.
My boyfriend and I came for the night snowshoeing, and it was fantastic! Aiden welcomed us and was so friendly and helpful at the information booth! His attitude made me so excited and he helped us every step of the way! The trail was really easy to walk and loved the night aspect of it. The trail isn’t as lit as the skating loop but you are given a head lamp to help you see! We really enjoyed it! Was a nice loop, and loved the views. I have gone previous to do the skating loop which is a favourite of mine but if you have the option to do both, do both!

Went here with my girls for my bachelorette party and had a great time! We did the tour which was really interesting and then enjoyed wine and food. The pretzels were the best!Overall we had a great time and I would love to come back again during harvest season to see the bogs filled up!

The staff were amazing — from the friendly lady at the reception, to the staff member at the cranberry plunge pool, the kind lady at the shop, and the gentleman who gave us great suggestions for places to eat. Everyone was so knowledgeable and taught us so much about the cranberry fields. I definitely want to come back again! I loved the time I spent here, and their cranberries are absolutely delicious.

My boyfriend and I visited Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery today, and we had the best time! We began our day with Bob's guided wagon tour of the farm. Bob is worth the price of admission alone - he is hilarious - and made teaching us about the workings of the cranberry farm a lot of fun, as well as informative. Browsing through the gift shop, with its rustic charm and cranberry-themed everything, was a unique and fun experience. We sipped samples of wine and fresh cranberry juice, while enjoying our day in the crisp autumn air at this welcoming and relaxing farm in Bala ON.

Visiting Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery was one of the highlights of my Muskoka trip! Nestled among beautiful cranberry field, the place offers a wonderful mix of nature, local flavor, and authentic Muskoka hospitality. The cranberry bog walk was fascinating — it’s not every day you get to see how cranberries are harvested, and the staff do an amazing job explaining the process. The wines are delicious and different ofcourse as they are not traditional wines made of grapes—yet they are light, refreshing, and full of character and at a very affordable price. The on-site café and shop also have great treats. If you visit in the fall, the Cranberry Harvest is a must-see specially during the Cranberry festival weekend.

You won me over from the moment I spotted the old truck beside your cranberry patch! THEN, a lovely senior playing guitar and singing. Nice first impression! We had just had our lunch elsewhere so we were unable to take advantage of the great little snack shop and stay for a set. We were looking for a red & a white wine to take to our hosts for dinner. One of the lovely ladies spent ten minutes with us explaining the background, preferences and suggestions. We bought two for our hosts, two to take home and a bottle of portage that I plan to use in my famous butter tarts soon. Highly recommend the gem in the forest.

I am giving this place 1 star. I went yesterday and it was the first time I experienced racism in my life and it was by 1 of their employees. Their website is also awful for not explaining the times for the activities when you buy an all access pass. What happened? Boyfriend and I are visibly minorities. There's no doubt about our backgrounds when you see us. I am latina and boyfriend is black. I bought 2 all access passes. The girl at Information was able to get us both for 3pm for the wagon ride (she was awesome). When we got there that's when we found out that since our wagon ride was at 3p the wine tasting was at 3:30p and the plunge was for 4:30p and we couldnt change those times. Our tour bus was leaving at 4:30p. We walked to the plunge. At 2:30p the lady came and asked the 1st couple for their time slot. They said theirs was for 3:30p. Lady said that's fine they can join the 2:30p plunge. We were next. I explained ours was for 4:30 and we cant do the plunge for 4:30 because our bus leaves at 4:30p. Lady said, no. They were all booked up and had no spots. NO SPOTS AT ALL. Just no. (I mean 2 just opened up for 3:30p). I was very shocked. It was clear what was happening. I've never experienced this before and we walked away and I tried to forget it. This was the lady who was thin/average size, black and white hair, wavy/curly, about my height maybe a bit shorter (5"5). I didn't get her name. I should have. I honestly tried to think of other reasons why it was an instant no for us but a yes for the white couple before us. Racism is really the only answer. We should have been able to atleast take that couples time slot if the time slots were full. I can honestly say I will never visit again. I will be reaching out to the bus tour company about the situation as well as I think they should know what their customers are experiencing and should consider another location if possible. Everyone else was really nice and friendly, except that 1 lady. Unfortunately it takes 1 person to ruin an experience. I will also reach out to the company and send them an email and request their employees receive training.
Iris V — Google review
Lovely place but unfriendly service. The woman staff member yelled at the visitor, who had to wash their hands after touching the cranberry, as it had a smell on their hands. That's why we want to wash our hands. No information on where to wash hands, and it's not really 30 minutes in the Cranberry plunge, just 15 minutes. The staff in the shop isn't friendly either.

Awenda Provincial Park, the second-largest provincial park in Ontario, spans 2,900 hectares of forested land. The park offers campgrounds, hiking and biking trails, and a lake where visitors can enjoy swimming and sunbathing on its five mixed sand/stone beaches. Birdwatchers will appreciate the diverse bird species found in the area. The drive into the park is surrounded by protected forests, providing a stunning natural setting for outdoor enthusiasts.
I had a wonderful time tent camping with my partner and my dog here. We were in the quiet zone and we were able to fully relax in nature. There were so many acorns during our time there, it was such a fun experience. We also did some of the trails there and I found them to be all very well kept and beautiful. My only negative (and to be honest I don't care that much) would be that there is a lot of distance between locations so you end up driving more than expected. Would definitely come back!

stayed at snake campground. campsites are big and private, very quiet. Beaches are nice though a bit rocky. Trails are a bit boring compared to other popular parks. Overall good experience.
Peng H — Google review
The beach is almost sandy with large stones but great for swimming with lots of waves. The camp sites are fully shadowed so no sky watching at night or direct sunlight during the day but the wind blowing in the trees makes great scenes. The forest is pretty dense but the camp sites are mostly exposed. So less privacy. Also book Hawk and Wolf campsites for electricity. The washrooms are regularly cleaned. We enjoyed our stay.

This is a beautiful Province Park. Just a 1 hour drive from Creemore Ontario. They have 4 beaches, inland lake and lots and lots of hiking trails. We decided to go to Awenda, looking for a fishing spot, but ended up doing more hiking than fishing. The roads in the park are well maintained and wined through the amazing forest. As we were only there for a day pass, we didn't go to the camping side of the park. There are lots of parking spots at the beaches and the inland lake. There are trails everywhere. Our next beach day will definitely be there. BBQ food and swimming on tree lined beaches.

One of the larger provincial parks closer to the GTA. Vast area with multiple trails. Camp sites are mostly private, but one can still see and hear the neighboring sites. The comfort stations are clean with warm showers. Since the park is large it takes quite a bit of driving to get anywhere, from the entrance to the office, and then to the campsite, and to the wood depot / park store and to the beach. The beach trail connecting the beaches is very scenic and quite a short hike that anyone can make. It is quite amazing how each beach feels different and the weather in each one of them varies quite a bit. The trail is well maintained and there are multiple toilet vaults (no running water) and garbage bins along the trails. Planning to go back in the fall because the park mostly has tall Maples and Oaks, and it should be spectacular just driving around.

Park is huge. Very nice and big camp sites with lots of trees. There was a lot of rain when we went and the camp sites are very clean, no puddles or stagnant water. Neat well maintained washrooms in campsites. Beach is very nice except it is all rocky beach. We couldn't do kayak as ours is inflatable kayak and could not take chance with all those rocks, but if you have a stable kayak, it is very good for kayaking. Lots of parking around the beach area. A couple of things i did not like were: 1. There are no change rooms / flushable toilets near the beach. 2. Beach is too far from camp sites. We must drive.

What an amazing place! We camped here for 3 nights over the father's day weekend. Check in was super easy and the staff were extremely friendly. Our campsite (site #71 in hawk) was gorgeous, clean and had so much privacy. They have a few nice trails here our favorite was the methodist point via beach trail. It was almost 6km and took us about 1.5hrs. Stunning scenery around Todd point. The beach was beautiful and super clean and the water was perfect for some swimming. We even took our Paddle boards out in the waves. The highlight of the weekend. Kettle lake beautiful as well and much bigger than I though it would be. Just be aware they do not have canoe rentals before July. We enjoyed our camping trip to awenda so much, it deserves the 5/5.

Lush green and beautiful. Very peaceful, wasn't crowded. Great spot to get a canoe at kettle lake. Would suggest carrying food from the nearest market because once you enter the park the closest eatery will be atleast 4 miles away. Carry bug spray as well.

Nestled in the scenic Cottage Country of Ontario, JW Marriott The Rosseau Resort & Spa offers a luxurious retreat with stunning views of Lake Rosseau. HydroSpa Muskoka, the resort's premier spa facility, features a Reinvigoration Circuit that includes unique experiences such as a Himalayan Salt Cave and an outdoor heated pool overlooking the lake. Guests can also enjoy an outdoor sauna and massages while taking in the picturesque surroundings.
Really happy with the experience. Sierra gave me a great manicure and pedicure--she's attentive, easy to talk to, and delivered excellent results :) No complaints with the amenities--pool, spa, sauna, salt room all in great condition. You won't need to go looking for basics like towels and water because they keep them readily available, and they also think of the little things, like plastic bags to bring your wet swimsuit home. 100% recommend!

Highlights - able to get a fairly last minute appointment - one of the best massages (Mark) that I’ve had - incredible views -even saw a deer right beside the outdoor sauna - massages chair was great - friendly staff Suggestions for spa - have more substantial food available for those planning to stay awhile - update outdoor hot tub & add cold plunge - oxygen bar: Whole thing felt a bit awkward. Maybe someone to explain it more and different seating. The stool I was in seemed like I was sliding off and wasn’t comfortable.

Overall this is a nice spa to visit if you are in the area. My RMT massage therapist was great and got all the knots and tension out. They have a waiting room with views of the lake, provide robes, snacks and tea before a treatment. The women's change room has lockers, steam room, sauna and hot tub. Downstairs they have relaxation rooms with salt and an oxygen bar. Outside there is a private pool, loungers,a hammock, an outdoor hot tub, cold plunge shower and a sauna. If you get a massage or a treatment, the amenities are included for the day, otherwise it's $100. I personally think it's worth it if you get a treatment or a massage vs using it only as a day spa - go early to make the most of it. This resort also has access to a private beach and the lake for guests. I was lucky that the spa was pretty much empty when I went so I had the place to myself and enjoyed my time there.

The entire spa was surprisingly big, stretching 2 floors on the lower level of the resort. The amenities were amazing, the view a beautiful view of Lake Rosseau. My relaxation massage was perfect. Shout out to my skilled masseuse Kenaline. Sorry if I butchered your name but my massage will be remembered.

Fantastic experience! Went in the winter time and it wasn’t too busy on the weekend. A beautiful escape with outdoor hot tub, pool, and saunas overlooking the grand lake. ❄️ Snow flakes falling on your hair from the steam in the cold. 💰 A great deal for $100 all day access to the oxygen bar, massage chairs, salt room, and more. Never found a better all-inclusive spa experience. ♥️ I’d totally make the day trip from Toronto to come here!!

Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Muskoka, The Rock has gained recognition as one of Canada's premier golf destinations. With a variety of courses ranging from 9-hole to championship layouts, it offers an exceptional golfing experience amidst the stunning granite outcroppings of the Canadian Shield. Boasting a challenging yet enjoyable 6,150-yard course suitable for all skill levels, accuracy is paramount due to its unique terrain.
Absolutely phenomenal Mother’s Day brunch! Emma, our server, and all the staff were kind, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The food was next-level—new head chef Joe is clearly bringing his A-game. The prime rib was cooked to perfection: tender, juicy, and full of flavour. The homemade chicken and waffles were a true highlight—crispy, comforting, and bursting with goodness. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. A truly memorable experience—we can’t wait to come back!

Course in great shape. It's a tough track, takes some thinking for shot placement and you must be accurate going into the greens, or you will be punished. We loved it.

Had an absolute blast at the course. One of the best courses I’ve played on, super scenic, and well worth it. Once we finished our round of golf the girls, (Maddy and Paige) allowed us to still grab food and drinks even though they were closing up. So seriously thank you girls! They deserve a pay raise!

Course is in excellent shape despite the dry weather, huge shoutout to the grounds crew! Staff was super friendly and everything was very well organized from start to finish. No complaints at all. Great value too: $200 for 2 juniors and 1 adult with a cart. We’ll definitely be back!

Screaming Heads

Art
Nature & Parks
Screaming Heads, located on Midlothian Road in Burks Falls, is a surreal and somewhat eerie sculpture park that seems to have sprung from the pages of a storybook. The park features large sculptures and various displays spread across its grounds. Visitors are advised to check in with the staff at the Screaming Threads shop for guidance before embarking on their exploration. Bug repellent is recommended, and it's wise to carry a water bottle while wandering through this unique landscape.
Wow! What an experience! The care and artistic eye for this property are absolutely incredible. I was in awe, screaming actually 😉. The lady the was there volunteering at the merch hut upon entry greeted everyone with enthusiasm and was knowledgeable about the property, the art process and the creator. We walked the property for about an hour, sat in a few spots to rest and take everything in. We also had fun finding other faces and phrases in the bases of the sculptures.
Sarah Z — Google review
I stopped by Screaming Heads in Burk’s Falls during the day, and it felt like stepping into a surreal open-air gallery tucked away in a huge field. The place was almost empty—maybe 10 people total and about the same number of cars—which gave it a strangely peaceful, almost eerie atmosphere. Workers were setting up tents for the upcoming Harvest Festival, so it was clear the space was gearing up for something much bigger on the weekend. Walking around, the sculptures themselves were impressive, but I could tell the real magic happens at night. They had fire bins set up where logs would normally be lit to cast dramatic shadows on the art, but in the daytime, they sat unused. Same with the light displays—I could imagine how incredible the massive concrete “heads” would look illuminated against the dark sky with music playing in the background. Even without the night effects, it was still a cool and unique spot. Free to enter, wide open to explore, and perfect for taking photos of the unusual and haunting artwork. If you’re nearby, it’s worth checking out anytime, but I’d recommend going after dark or during an event to really see the place come alive.
Paul B — Google review
Such an amazing place to visit! I was blown away by all the incredible sculptures and how huge the property is. We were lucky to meet the owner while he was doing some maintenance, he took the time to share some of the history behind the place, which was really cool. We went in October and the fall colors made it even more beautiful. Can’t wait to come back in the summer for some of the fun events! Also no bugs in October;)

An extraordinary and unexpected 40yr effort by an artist on his 350 acre farm. Takes about 1 hour or so to walk through and muse the meaning of the many structures. Free but voluntary donations welcome into a box on your drive out. Free parking too.
Tom N — Google review
Have been looking to visit this place for quiet sometime now and finally did last week and what a unusual creepy interesting place... so beautiful eerie looking sculptures spread across this massive beautiful land.... some sculptures have a different meaning if you look from another angle...cant imagine how amazing and scary it would be during the night with all the lights and firepits lit up. It is definitely a must visit if one is around muskoka or Huntsville area and entry and parking is free only donations...

This is a very interesting art installation. We arrive late in the day on a Wednesday, and basically had the whole place to ourselves. The property itself is HUGE and very beautiful. There was part through the spider we gates that was closed, so we couldn't go in. The trails aren't marked very well and there is no map. We walked to many dead ends and had to turn around, and only saw about 20 heads because we walked in so many circles. We saw more across the street as we were leaving that we had no clue about, which made us realize we had probably had missed a lot, and further investigation on Google confirmed that we indeed had. Most of what we saw was overgrown with grass and weeds. Lots of horse and deer flies, so be sure to spray down with heavy bug spray, and close toed shoes for the overgrown trails. The heads themselves make you wonder what the artist was thinking as he created them, but they are fascinating, and very beautiful in their own way. They might seem creepy and scary to young children, so I would consider that when bringing kids. It would be a good family activity for families with older children though. Personally, I would go back to explore some more, but I would arrive much earlier and plan to spend the whole day exploring.

Pretty cool park, full of whimsical installations. I arrived at 6:45 on a rainy day so did a quick run through, would be best to plan a few hours on a sunny day. The installations are in several fields, not sure if there is a map... lots of different areas, looks like a Frisbee golf course set up too.

Nestled south of Parry Sound, The Massasauga Provincial Park is a hidden gem for outdoor enthusiasts seeking adventure in nature. This stunning park features wilderness trails and kayaking opportunities through picturesque pine forests, where you might spot bears, eagles, and herons. With its serene inland lakes and the rugged beauty of Georgian Bay's windswept islands, it has long been a favorite among paddlers.
One of my favourite parks in Ontario. This is the only provincial park I know of where you can canoe to your site without the need to Portage. This is a huge benefit to those who may struggle to carry a canoe. Routes can vary from easy calm water to challenging open water sections. Beware of sites in the West section of the park if you are not an experienced paddler, the water conditions can be hazardous. If you visit, please keep your sites clean and do not cut any branches or trees.
Kevin C — Google review
Came backcountry camping in the first week of October. Rented a canoe from the park office at Pete's Access Point (you may want to call ahead of time to ensure availability). There are many campsites which do not require a portage from here, so that was nice. We were at site #315 which is about 1-1.5 hrs of canoeing in optimal weather conditions. Only bad part was there were a ridiculous amount of motor boats in our area. There were boats passing us by even as late as 11:30pm! I'd recommend going to areas with less cottages to avoid all the boats
David H — Google review
Incredible place to go back country canoeing. Clean campsites, and beautiful vistas. The portage trails are relatively well maintained. The biggest issue is the landings, as they're very shallow in many places. Make sure to bring boots for portages. Also, beware of ticks, I've never seen so many in one place. Had to remove four of them, all at different times.

Awesome easy access to canoe, kayak and boating, water access only from Three Legged Lake and Pete's Place access points, backcountry camping in the Archipelago on Clear Lake, Spider Lake's, Blackstone Harbor, Little Blackstone Lake, Captain Allen Straight and Moon Bay. Head out to HENRY'S Restaurant on Frying Pan Island for a good time.
Cameron H — Google review
Perfect place for a family canoe trip. We start at the Three Legged Lake access point. From there short portage (one steep section) to spider lake which has plenty of good portages. Can get windy but lots of bays and to find protection. Love knowing what site I have and no rush to get there!

A gem so close to the golden Horseshoe. Ontario is the paddling capital of the world. With over one million lakes plus rivers, stream and James Bay adventure options are endless. The Massassuaga PP is an amazing example of Canadian Sheild meeting a great lake with thousands of island and inland lakes too. I have been to the park roughly 10 times for backcountry trips of varying degrees. Massassuaga separates itself from Algonquin, Killarney, Quetico (to a lesser extent and) and Wabakimi as portaging can be avoided even on very long trips. And you can also go out to the rougher waters if you're prepared and expreinced. If you are a paddler and can't make regular trips to the further park - this park is great for shorter trip!
Chris M — Google review
One of my favourite backcountry parks in Ontario. If you want privacy you’ll have to do a couple portages to get away from the cottages, but you can also choose to do an easier paddle and stay a few kms from Pete’s Place. I planned a day trip to Moon River Falls for my friends, we saw a bald eagle, it was a lovely trip! My site was 408, which doesn’t get lights from the cottages on Wood’s bay but did get heavy boat traffic.
Afton C — Google review
Come here once and you're hooked. Lovely back-county P.P. Been her many times over the past 15 years. The addition of picnic tables on the sites was welcomed by this older canoeist. Very busy in the summer, can be difficult to reserve a prime campsite. Staff at the Ostler Lake office have always been friendly and efficient. Never did come across a Massassauga Rattler😨

Oastler Lake Provincial Park is a charming retreat nestled near Parry Sound, making it an ideal getaway for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. This picturesque campground features spacious sites surrounded by a delightful mix of pine and deciduous trees, with many offering stunning waterfront views. Summer visitors can indulge in various activities such as canoeing, boating, and fishing on the serene lake.
Had a wonderful week camping at Oastler Lake. The sound of the trains didn't really bother us. The fishing was not good, but we had fun kayaking and swimming. Our dog enjoyed swimming too. We used the small 2 stall bathroom near our site. They were kept pretty clean, but often ran out of toilet paper. Firewood sold on site was nice and dry. My family really liked this park, we will return!
Cyndy D — Google review
Beautiful park! I imagine it gets even more beautiful in the fall! Our site was 151 — a beautiful site with two pads so you can park separate from where your tent or eating is. Waterfront access and incredibly clean! Only reason it isn’t five stars because there are trains that run through semi often. It didn’t bother me too much and I didn’t wake up in the night, but was challenging getting to bed. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper! This is also a very easy stop off the highway so if you are driving through on the TransCanada, this park adds virtually no time going out of the way. I have never heard of this park prior, but I’m so glad we have stopped as I’d love to go back now we know!
Paige — Google review
Not a bad little campground in the Muskokas. Noise from the nearby highway wasn’t as bad as I expected. The campground has a great selection of campsites from powered for rvs to some nice forested tent sites. Amenities are standard. Take a canoe or kayak ride around the bays.
Franklin B — Google review
Sites are generous in size and spaced apart nicely. The land is beautiful with well kept grounds. The front staff are very friendly and helpful and the staff kept the washrooms and grounds very clean and well stocked daily. The beaches and water were stunning. The park was rented out yet we couldn’t tell at all it was busy. Very quiet and so specious the entire weekend was very peaceful.
Christine E — Google review
Oastler Lake PP has been overall nice to us. We just had heavy rain one day, but overall experience was good. There is only one thing I did not like, the sites are not very private and we had the site 155, which was in front of the comfort stations. I specifically booked it for us to be convenient, however, people in the campsite behind 102 and 104, there was a large group and they just kept passing through out campsite, even after we repeatedly told them not to. They were not nice people and even after we complained about them, they still kept doing it. They did not ask for permission, or nothing. They just thought that’s their campsite. But other than that, washrooms were good, our campsite was good. It has a nice beach and you can also rent canoes. It was a good experience.
Pulkit S — Google review
Enjoyed our time at site #117. Good size park but no hiking trails so a more relaxing/sedentary boat versus active. Nice to have direct water access and a big lot. We were on the side of the park closest to the highway to get into the park, which is quite noisy. As well, there’s a train track with trains regularly on it.
KL D — Google review
This park was lovely! I’ve visited very many Ontario parks, and while this one isn’t my favourite, it was a nice few days. Tucked close to Parry sound, there was no shortage of adventures to be had. We went up the tower and walked the gardens, which I highly recommend, walked the rose point trail, took the swing bridge to Parry Island, and saw the trains roar past Reynolds junction. The park is quiet, beautiful, and the sites are great! As with most parks, the electric are much less private, but the non electric and walk ins are amazing, right on the water! One thing that took a star away - TRAINS!! The trains go by all day AND night, so if you’re a light sleeper, you want white noise or best to find another northern park.
Amanda D — Google review
Went camping on a long weekend this summer with some friends. The beach is beautiful, clean and great for walking in the water. But there are no washrooms nearby the beach, washrooms are located on the opposite side of the park. There are no shade shelters or umbrellas for the picnic tables. The park is very small and you can walk the entire thing in about 15 minutes. The sites offer no privacy or separation from other sites. Friends of ours on another site said that other campers just walked through their site to take a shortcut to the showers. Very unsettling at night to hear people walk right beside your tent. There is little to no patrolling or enforcement of the provincial park rules. ( noise, burning of garbage etc) The water is very shallow, which is great for children but not the best for adults who want to swim. If you went out past the enclosure so swim in deeper water, the weeds were very bad. The area is very close to a railway, so you do hear a train almost every hour or so and it does happen throughout the night. The stars from the beach are beautiful and we still had a great time despite some unexpected surprises. It is the loudest camping ground I have ever stayed at. If you come here to get away from the noise of the city, you will be left disappointed.

The park is the best destination for camping. I am not a fan of sleeping in a tent, but Killbear lets me have the desire to try. The views are Incredible! The water is crystal clear and clean. The rocky bank of The Tree looks so similar to the coast of Prince Edward Island... Vast, clean, peaceful.

It's Halloween 🎃 day and we just left the park. Great biking trails, so smooth and beautiful beaches. Sites are not very private but they are spacious. Great bathrooms and there is a decent store near by. No LCBO that I saw. Not very pet friendly. Off leash is a drivable distance. Great place for family and kids.

Nice park - quite busy, and a lot of sites seem really close to each other. A lot of beautiful water front sites - but keep in mind the wind off the bay can be quite strong! Great campground for someone with a motorized boat. We kayak- so we prefer smaller lakes like af Grundy.

Great provincial park. Very large, camping sites have good space and plenty of trees for privacy from the camper next to you. Beaches are nice, good biking trails and fantastic views ! Also, if you like snakes, you are almost certain to see one if you look. If I was to find one fault while we were there, it's the showers at all comfort stations were closed due to a lack of water pressure I was told.

Great camp ground! Not a lot of privacy between each camp ground but the cleanliness of the grounds and the bathrooms make it worth a visit. The drinking water was not drinkable when we visited, so definitely bring your own drinking water. The beach along the coast is so beautiful and well kept.

All of the trails and the park in general were very beautiful. There is lots to do. Trails, swimming, if you had a boat/kayak/paddle board you could do that too. You can't buy ice in the park but there are a couple stores just outside that you can buy dry wood and ice at. The whole time we were there (4 days) there was constant trouble with the bathrooms. Toilets were always overflowing as they are all flush toilets now (where we were anyways). They weren't very well maintained. They could be short staffed this time of year though. We saw lots of wildlife and beautiful views. Overall a great experience and nothing a few more staff members couldn't fix.

We recently visited Killbear Provincial Park in October, and it was a truly amazing experience! The fall colors were absolutely stunning, with vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows painting the landscape. The crisp, cool air made hiking along the scenic trails refreshing, and the views of Georgian Bay were breathtaking. We were able to spot some wildlife, including deer and a few curious squirrels preparing for winter. The park was peaceful and less crowded, which made it feel like a perfect autumn escape. Whether you enjoy hiking, photography, or just soaking in the beauty of nature, Killbear in the fall is a must-visit!
Steven — Google review
It was an amazing trip with the kids. The water is shallow for miles with solid sandy bottoms, nothing unsuspecting underfoot. Lots of unique wildlife to discover and the campsites are nicely spaced from each other. The kids bikes lots with new friends. We will definitely be back we barely scratched the surface of things to discover. Note: There is no playground (slides/swings) but you won't be bothered because the beaches are so close to the sites and there are beaches everywhere so it never gets crowded. It was an amazing trip and everyone had fun. Bring walkie talkies to keep track of everyone. Lol
