We stumbled upon this place but total accident by using google. We were visiting my family who live in Thorold. As a serving member of the Royal Navy, this was amazing. However we were not offered a military discount, only Canadian Forces, which was the only let down. Other than, lovely few hours of history!

Thought it just had two war of 1812 era ship replicas but was happily surprised to find they had buildings to explore and an excavated ship wreck housed in a museum. The very small extra fee for a guided tour was well worth it. Very affordable and very informative. Our guide had a great sense of humour and encouraged questions. Looking forward to returning.

The museum itself is generally well-curated and has great potential. However, I’m giving 1 star because of a very disappointing and disrespectful interaction with one of the staff members, which left a negative impression on our visit. At the first ship we visited, the young woman overseeing the exhibit was openly rude and dismissive. When I asked her a simple question about the ship’s route, she immediately frowned, avoided eye contact, and acted as if I had inconvenienced her. Her tone and body language were cold and clearly showed that she did not want to engage. Throughout the brief interaction, she sighed, rolled her eyes, and made it clear that she was irritated simply because we asked a question. Instead of trying to help or show even basic politeness, she distanced herself and went back to reading her book in the corner—clearly uninterested in speaking with visitors. To make matters worse, she didn’t even know the answer and had to ask her colleague, who was polite, professional, and actually took the time to explain things clearly. We appreciated his help very much. Whether the young woman is a volunteer or paid staff, it is not acceptable to treat visitors this way—especially those who are genuinely interested in learning. I strongly suggest assigning this role to someone who is more welcoming and better suited to working with the public. I hope this feedback is taken seriously to improve the visitor experience.

Interesting place to visit. Parking can be hard to find if there's a theatre performance. There are two replica ships you can come aboard. And lots of houses to visit. They aren't clustered together, so there's a bit of a walk

Worth the drive to see the displays. Very well done. Great food and the atmosphere is good for adults and children.

It was 40 degrees when we visited and nearly empty- and still the staff were courteous and attentive, lol. They must have been impossibly overheated! The place was definitely worth a visit.

Visited Discovery Harbour while hinking at Awenda Park and it was such a cool experience! The historic ships and buildings give you a real feel for what life was like back in the early 1800s. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable, and some even dress in period costume, which makes it feel even more immersive. They even had the ancient live gun shooting and blacksmith work The setting on the water is beautiful, and it’s an easy, laid-back spot to explore for a couple of hours. Great for families, history buffs, or anyone looking for something unique to do in the Midland/Penetanguishene area. A nice change of pace from hiking and camping!

We had just gone up to visit and see the church and the overall shrine together as a family. It was recommended to us by another family member who had gone. There was a pilgrimage and they were celebrating the Virgin of Guadalupe. The space itself was magnificent. Big open fields and lots to do. We didn’t realize we could have a picnic there. We were able to bring our dog along (keep in mind, pets are not allowed inside the actual church) to walk around the overall shrine. There was lots of parking space and accessible bathrooms. The only complaint I guess I had was that entry fee was $10 per person. I know that’s not a lot but especially with a big family it got pretty costly. Otherwise beautiful place.

This is such a beautiful and peaceful place. The church is located on the highest hill in the area and is beautiful inside and out. Relics of the martyrs are inside and can be viewed. The grounds are well kept with several shrines and an area called "Brebeuf's Prayer Garden". What impressed me most was the canes and crutches on the walls of the shrine left by people who claim to have been healed here.

Martyrs’ Shrine is a truly special place. The church and grounds are peaceful, beautiful, and full of history. It’s a meaningful site where you can reflect, pray, or simply enjoy the serene atmosphere. The architecture is inspiring, and the staff and volunteers are welcoming and kind. Whether you visit for spiritual reasons or to learn more about the Canadian Martyrs, this shrine leaves a lasting impression. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Midland area.

Beautiful place of worship. Many friends and family have indicated their prayers have been answered when praying here. I am not of Christian faith however after visiting here for the first time I can definitely feel the energy. They have a casing of Father Brebeauf's skull which is also very unique.

Remarkably stunning and memorable, the Martyrs Catholic Church Shrine is a testament to the history and religious faith of the Canadian Martyrs. Will leave you astounded at the two reliquaries where preserved bones of the Martyrs lie and surrounding canes, crutches & others ex- votos adorn the area as witness to the healing and graces received. Beautiful and expansive grounds with parking available. On site is visitor information chalet, restaurant with optional outdoor patio and gift shop with religious relics, gorgeous rosaries, holy water and books. Suitable for young children however, access to the shrine is via stairs only and somewhat steep/ lengthy. Admission also includes “Sainte -Marie among the Hurons”, Ontario’s first European community & headquarters for the French Jesuit Mission to the Huron-Wendat people. Amenities on site. Enjoy the walk to the Sainte-Marie among the Huron through the guide footpath or by car ( across the street) with onsite parking. Enjoy a full day of history, gardens, food & exploration of both ensuring lasting memories!

Spectacular Gateway for those who want to experience a local pilgrimage. An entrance of 10Cad p/h adults. 12 under free. You can bring your picnic basket and have some nature’s family get together under the trees(available tables at the parking site). Don’t forget to get your souvenirs at souvenir shop.

Reached just in time to attend Mass, walked around the complex. Keep your entry reciept to be able to visit Sainte-Marie among the Hurons. A day well spent.

We were short on time, but Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre still ended up being one of the highlights of our day! Even in a quick visit, we saw lots of animals, which was such a nice surprise. One of the staff members even brought out a bird for us to see up close – such a cool experience! All the staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. Definitely worth coming back for a longer visit next time. Great spot for nature lovers and families.

We had a wonderful at the marsh. Staff were friendly and helpful. We walked the trails which were well maintained and beautiful. At the marsh we saw turtles, frogs and lots of birds (3 lifers!). After walking, we took the canoe tour which takes about 20-30 min. it was fun to enjoy the waters in a different perspective. The highlight for me was watching some Sandhill Cranes flying above the marsh - magical! We loved it here, definitely a must see for nature and bird lovers.

Wye Marsh Wildlife Conservation Area is a beautiful place to spend the day! Admission is only $12 per person, and it’s well worth it. They do incredible work helping injured wildlife recover and survive, which makes visiting feel even more meaningful. There are lots of peaceful trails to explore and a really nice boardwalk with amazing views. A perfect mix of nature, wildlife, and relaxation

We had a fantastic time visiting Wye Marsh with our toddler. It was the perfect mix of nature, wildlife, and space to explore. Our little one loved spotting turtles, frogs, and a wide variety of birds along the trails. We even got lucky and saw some migratory cranes flying overhead, such a special moment. The marsh is peaceful and well maintained, with easy paths. It’s a great spot to slow down, breathe in the fresh air, and connect as a family. Highly recommended for anyone with young kids looking for an accessible nature experience.

I just found this hidden gem while coming back from muskoka region . I just stopped nearby to fill gas and had sometime to kill before heading home , luckly I found this place and kids loved it. Marsh land wildlife is quite different from the rest and at the end of fall season , we didn't see a lot of wildlife but place is still an experience for us.

This was such a wonderful spot to visit with the family, especially with small kids. We had a really relaxing time and loved that our dog was welcome too! Be sure to bring your own snacks since there aren’t any food vendors or vending machines around. It’s the perfect place to enjoy some time in nature, and we found the birds of prey to be absolutely fascinating to watch! You do have to pay to get in.

Amazingly well thought out facility, if you enjoy nature and want to experience the incredible biodiversity of our wetlands, be sure to visit. This is a not for profit, so be sure to bring some extra spending money to support such a noble cause.

Waste of time and money. The snow tubing experience is basically a scam operation. Do not go unless you want to spend most of your allotted 2 hour window waiting in lines. Went today and took 30 minutes to get up the hill each time because clearly they oversold tickets. We were only able to get 2-3 rides. At $55 per person, that’s $20-30 per ride. Management cares more about short term profit over customer satisfaction, safety and loyalty.

Went here only because Snow Valley was sold out and we have company from South America experiencing Canada for the first time. Turns out Horseshoe doesn’t limit ticket sales, so that’s why it wasn’t sold out like Snow Valley. You’re lucky to get down the hill 3-4 times in your two hour time slot. Spent $57 per person to stand in lines both at the bottom and the top of the hill. Very disappointing :(. Staff were fantastic and dealt with unhappy patrons very well. It’s not their fault.

There is no way this place charges more than Snow Valley. Snow Valley has like 12 lanes all of which are faster and longer. This place has 3 lanes that could compare to the Snow Valley kids junior lanes. Parking is garbage here too, and only one lift which you have to stand compared to snow valley where you can sit, which has 3 lifts. We literally left 10 minutes into our 2 hour session to go to Snow Valley at no refund. I’d rather just drive fast on the 400 than go on those hills. Would be good if it was $5 tbh.

Overall had a fun day skiing but there were some hiccups. The instructors were very helpful and friendly but some of the station staff were not. One guy mistook me for a school kid (cos i’m small and short) and yelled at me just because i fell off the lift and struggled to get up to “get out of the way” and he threatened to take away my pass because I struggled?!??? Even if I were a kid, that’s not how to treat or talk to children. Very rude. Food was below average- kind of like canteen/ fast food. If you don’t actively do one of the activities they offer, there is not much to see when walking around.

The worst snow tubing experience ever!! Only one lane was opened for tickets and tubing on a busy day. Waited forever and wasted so much time, only went two rounds for the 3 hrs pass. Ontario’s longest tubing lane?? False advertisement!!

This place is so bad. The only way they make money is having people buy non-refundable tickets online or else everyone would want their money back when they arrive. You spend more time waiting than riding. The hills are TINY especially compared to Snow Valley. I would have rather just went home than go on more runs. This place is utter garbage.

We came here for the annual Polar Rush obstacle run event. OMG so much snow this year, made my movement very hard (actually dying in the beginning!!) It is fun for people like staying outside in the winter :)

We enjoyed our stay here during March break for a ski vacation. The hill is nice and well maintained and the cost was good for the ski package. The pool is nice but a bit crowded as they allow people from off resort to use it. The food is the low point see my review on that below.

Rooms are outdated. Definitely not for adults. We tried the “glow in the dark” mini golfing, and it was just strips of coloured LED lights. We had to hold our flashlights to play. Kayaking was fine. However, we got tickets for 10 people and when we got to the water, they didn’t have enough kayaks. They should have told us in advance that they wouldn’t have enough. Also, everything closes pretty early. Spend your money elsewhere.

We stayed in a loft room in the hotel. The room is dated and was not cleaned very well. For the price we paid it was extremely disappointing. The railing up to the loft is all chipped and the carpeted stairs are dirty. There are stains on every piece of furniture. Honesty, I really did not want to sit on them. There were chips left under the chair in front of the fireplace from the previous guest, and the stairs were dirty going down to the fireplace. The bathrooms and bed seemed clean. The service was amazing. The food at the Crazy Horse restaurant was excellent. I was extremely disappointed to see all the shampoo, conditioner, body wash and soap made in China... Can you not support a Canadian Company in any province???

We did not stay overnight. We spent the day this past summer, experince are abundant and staffs are friendly. We did the mining experiment, ski lift, wall climbing, pulled tube on the beach, mini golf. And we did treetop trekking with separate cost. Perfect activity for family

The hotel stay was nice but you will not get to enjoy privacy of the amenities like the pool and hot tub because the residents that had special need (autism) will be in your face (closer than 30cm) constantly asking what your favourite colour is and not listening to you at the same time, while following you around. Their care givers will not do anything because they expect you to give extra attention otherwise you’re not a good person. I feel for the families that have special need children and I respect them, but following this incident I feel the individuals monopolized the area where others have to give out their rights in order to make ways for the special needs. Edit: in response to the owner’s comment, please review the fact that the disabled individuals (male) are constantly FOLLOWING girls around, intruding a safe distance and CORNERING the girls to “answer their questions”. If expecting the least bit of help and support is called “wanting exclusivity” then I have no words. Putting the victim in blame because the other party is disabled discarded the last bit of expectation that the management and security of the resort can do the right thing. Best of luck!

Horseshoe resort didn't meet our expectations.Old building needs renovation. Dirty,stained armchairs in the lobby. Crowded small outdoor pool. Five 🌟 to staff and one to a manager. Breakfast isn't included. At the front desk, was one staff member who was doing a job for two. There is no beach,it's a small pond for kids to play. For the same amount of money that we had to spent here, we decided to go to Dominican all-inclusive next time. And 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟🌟 to staff. Young guys are doing a really great job there!

Just finished a 3 day/2 night stay in a slope side room. Staff have always been friendly, food at the Iron Horse is good but a bit pricy and we had to wait about 45 minutes for dinner. When we entered our room and had ice cubes fall on the floor I wiped the floor and it was so dirty. We couldn’t walk bare foot in the room as your feet were filthy from the dirty floors. Don’t think they had been moped or it was the same dirty water used from other room. Quite disappointing for paying $856 for 2 nights. My real concern is we killed 2 cockroaches at 3:30am and when I informed the desk at check out there was no discussion or offer of discount etc. The back 9 on the golf course is horrendous as there is no irrigation and it’s been a dry summer. Even the greens are brown and the ground is all cracked. They shouldn’t be charging people for 18 holes when only 1/2 of the course is what I’d call a golf course. Golf price definitely needs to be adjusted to the cost of only 9 holes.

An intriguing marvel of engineering, in a beautiful rustic setting. Ideal for picnics. Adjacent parkette. Lots of parking. Avoid a visit during bug season.

It is only a 10 minute drive from the 400. Well worth the detour. The Big Chute is a very interesting place to explore. We also had lunch at the marina restaurant and the food was very good and the staff were very friendly.

Fascinating Marine Railway boat carrier from a higher elevation to a lower elevation near Port Severn near end of the Trent Severn waterway containing many locks including the Peterborough lift lock, picturesque Fenelon Falls, and houseboat rentals. This waterway makes up part of the Great Loop around Canada and the U.S.

Very beautiful place, nice and quiet , so relax when you walk around the lock.

Went here with my girls for my bachelorette party and had a great time! We did the tour which was really interesting and then enjoyed wine and food. The pretzels were the best!Overall we had a great time and I would love to come back again during harvest season to see the bogs filled up!

The staff were amazing — from the friendly lady at the reception, to the staff member at the cranberry plunge pool, the kind lady at the shop, and the gentleman who gave us great suggestions for places to eat. Everyone was so knowledgeable and taught us so much about the cranberry fields. I definitely want to come back again! I loved the time I spent here, and their cranberries are absolutely delicious.

My boyfriend and I visited Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery today, and we had the best time! We began our day with Bob's guided wagon tour of the farm. Bob is worth the price of admission alone - he is hilarious - and made teaching us about the workings of the cranberry farm a lot of fun, as well as informative. Browsing through the gift shop, with its rustic charm and cranberry-themed everything, was a unique and fun experience. We sipped samples of wine and fresh cranberry juice, while enjoying our day in the crisp autumn air at this welcoming and relaxing farm in Bala ON.

Visiting Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery was one of the highlights of my Muskoka trip! Nestled among beautiful cranberry field, the place offers a wonderful mix of nature, local flavor, and authentic Muskoka hospitality. The cranberry bog walk was fascinating — it’s not every day you get to see how cranberries are harvested, and the staff do an amazing job explaining the process. The wines are delicious and different ofcourse as they are not traditional wines made of grapes—yet they are light, refreshing, and full of character and at a very affordable price. The on-site café and shop also have great treats. If you visit in the fall, the Cranberry Harvest is a must-see specially during the Cranberry festival weekend.

You won me over from the moment I spotted the old truck beside your cranberry patch! THEN, a lovely senior playing guitar and singing. Nice first impression! We had just had our lunch elsewhere so we were unable to take advantage of the great little snack shop and stay for a set. We were looking for a red & a white wine to take to our hosts for dinner. One of the lovely ladies spent ten minutes with us explaining the background, preferences and suggestions. We bought two for our hosts, two to take home and a bottle of portage that I plan to use in my famous butter tarts soon. Highly recommend the gem in the forest.

I am giving this place 1 star. I went yesterday and it was the first time I experienced racism in my life and it was by 1 of their employees. Their website is also awful for not explaining the times for the activities when you buy an all access pass. What happened? Boyfriend and I are visibly minorities. There's no doubt about our backgrounds when you see us. I am latina and boyfriend is black. I bought 2 all access passes. The girl at Information was able to get us both for 3pm for the wagon ride (she was awesome). When we got there that's when we found out that since our wagon ride was at 3p the wine tasting was at 3:30p and the plunge was for 4:30p and we couldnt change those times. Our tour bus was leaving at 4:30p. We walked to the plunge. At 2:30p the lady came and asked the 1st couple for their time slot. They said theirs was for 3:30p. Lady said that's fine they can join the 2:30p plunge. We were next. I explained ours was for 4:30 and we cant do the plunge for 4:30 because our bus leaves at 4:30p. Lady said, no. They were all booked up and had no spots. NO SPOTS AT ALL. Just no. (I mean 2 just opened up for 3:30p). I was very shocked. It was clear what was happening. I've never experienced this before and we walked away and I tried to forget it. This was the lady who was thin/average size, black and white hair, wavy/curly, about my height maybe a bit shorter (5"5). I didn't get her name. I should have. I honestly tried to think of other reasons why it was an instant no for us but a yes for the white couple before us. Racism is really the only answer. We should have been able to atleast take that couples time slot if the time slots were full. I can honestly say I will never visit again. I will be reaching out to the bus tour company about the situation as well as I think they should know what their customers are experiencing and should consider another location if possible. Everyone else was really nice and friendly, except that 1 lady. Unfortunately it takes 1 person to ruin an experience. I will also reach out to the company and send them an email and request their employees receive training.

Lovely place but unfriendly service. The woman staff member yelled at the visitor, who had to wash their hands after touching the cranberry, as it had a smell on their hands. That's why we want to wash our hands. No information on where to wash hands, and it's not really 30 minutes in the Cranberry plunge, just 15 minutes. The staff in the shop isn't friendly either.

2024 September 2.5★ Located near the port, this beach is small and has a lot of pebbles. A small playground and washrooms are available, but really, It's just an ok beach. It would be better if the beach was combed and rocks removed. No dog signs are around, but you still see them there. People need to be more considerate for everyone and at the very least, pick up after your dog. Otherwise, the waters are ok. Overall, the beach is fine for those in the area. However, not quite a place to venture on to.

It's such a beautiful beach park in Orillia. Water is so clean, almost transparent. Sand was so nice. The water was cold but still we enjoyed this beautiful beach a lot. All the areas in the park, slides, and picnic shelter all were very nice and clean. We look forward to returning here again!!

Couchiching Beach is a charming spot located in Orillia, Ontario, perfect for a relaxing day by the water. The beach is clean and well-maintained, with soft sand and shallow waters, making it ideal for families with children. There’s a large park nearby with picnic tables, playgrounds, and walking trails. The beach area also has washroom facilities and ample parking, which adds to the convenience. Overall, Couchiching Beach provides a peaceful and enjoyable outdoor experience.

After lunch we took a stroll down to the waterfront in Orilla, and to our surprise it was absolutely beautiful. This was our first time visiting the waterfront. There were plenty of trails to walk, a couple of sandy beach spots with public washrooms/change rooms, a fantastic kids jungle gym, splash pad and an outdoor theatre. Plenty of picnic tables and beautiful grounds to have a picnic with your family and friends. There were many options for snacks and ice cream to purchase, and the nearby restaurants are a short walk.

Beautiful beach located in Orilia. A great place for the family. Kids can enjoy the small park, a short train ride and safe swimming for all to enjoy. Well maintained area (clean bathrooms facilities, and green areas). Enjoy admiring the boats along the water horizon. With a welcoming community, this beach park is a must to visit with the family!

The entire waterfront was under construction, part of the Centennial was closed. Managed to find a parking near the railway for kids. The scenery along the boardwalk was beautiful. Still in late May, not many boats in the water yet. A little windy, pretty quiet.

Great beach, very spacious with lot of trees and spacious park, picnic tables, some playgrounds for kids and a train ride for all ages. Great for family. Lot of free parking. It also has a restroom.

Course in great shape. It's a tough track, takes some thinking for shot placement and you must be accurate going into the greens, or you will be punished. We loved it.

Amazing golf course and excellent patio lunch. Enjoyed a delicious Swiss mushroom burger overlooking the 10th hole. Thank you to Madi for the recommendation and friendly service.

We try to eat at the rock a few times a month. It's amazing, the food is outstanding. The staff goes above and beyond. It's a hidden gem! This was my lunch today. Great value as well.

Had an absolute blast at the course. One of the best courses I’ve played on, super scenic, and well worth it. Once we finished our round of golf the girls, (Maddy and Paige) allowed us to still grab food and drinks even though they were closing up. So seriously thank you girls! They deserve a pay raise!

Course is in excellent shape despite the dry weather, huge shoutout to the grounds crew! Staff was super friendly and everything was very well organized from start to finish. No complaints at all. Great value too: $200 for 2 juniors and 1 adult with a cart. We’ll definitely be back!

This golf course is absolutely gorgeous and kept in pristine condition. Insanely difficult track though. Good thing I played like a tour stick, but it was difficult to watch my friends get beat up like that.

Great golf course aslong as you are ok with a challenge. Leaving your ego at that door and playing the proper tees based on your skill level is paramount to enjoying your day.

Highlights - able to get a fairly last minute appointment - one of the best massages (Mark) that I’ve had - incredible views -even saw a deer right beside the outdoor sauna - massages chair was great - friendly staff Suggestions for spa - have more substantial food available for those planning to stay awhile - update outdoor hot tub & add cold plunge - oxygen bar: Whole thing felt a bit awkward. Maybe someone to explain it more and different seating. The stool I was in seemed like I was sliding off and wasn’t comfortable.

Overall this is a nice spa to visit if you are in the area. My RMT massage therapist was great and got all the knots and tension out. They have a waiting room with views of the lake, provide robes, snacks and tea before a treatment. The women's change room has lockers, steam room, sauna and hot tub. Downstairs they have relaxation rooms with salt and an oxygen bar. Outside there is a private pool, loungers,a hammock, an outdoor hot tub, cold plunge shower and a sauna. If you get a massage or a treatment, the amenities are included for the day, otherwise it's $100. I personally think it's worth it if you get a treatment or a massage vs using it only as a day spa - go early to make the most of it. This resort also has access to a private beach and the lake for guests. I was lucky that the spa was pretty much empty when I went so I had the place to myself and enjoyed my time there.

My wife and I had a great day at HydroSpa Muskoka. Beautiful facility, lots of things to do. Loved it and will be back for sure... great quality / price. Highly recommend

The entire spa was surprisingly big, stretching 2 floors on the lower level of the resort. The amenities were amazing, the view a beautiful view of Lake Rosseau. My relaxation massage was perfect. Shout out to my skilled masseuse Kenaline. Sorry if I butchered your name but my massage will be remembered.

Fantastic experience! Went in the winter time and it wasn’t too busy on the weekend. A beautiful escape with outdoor hot tub, pool, and saunas overlooking the grand lake. ❄️ Snow flakes falling on your hair from the steam in the cold. 💰 A great deal for $100 all day access to the oxygen bar, massage chairs, salt room, and more. Never found a better all-inclusive spa experience. ♥️ I’d totally make the day trip from Toronto to come here!!

We had a great time! Our room was upgraded to a jr suite, which was awesome. It was huge, comfortable and very nice. The pool area and sauna/steam rooms were perfect after a long day of walking the casino floor. The property was really nice too, lots of apple trees down the walking trail.

Amazing resort. I am not much for gambling, but really enjoy the concert venue. Rooms are beautiful, very clean and spacious. Great staff. Food at Match Restaurant is excellent (we didn’t get to try the others). Tim’s on site is open 24 hrs. Lovely shops as well featuring local indigenous artists. Well worth the drive!

The hotel is very nice, and decorated beautifully. Room was large and clean. Plenty of restaurants to choose from, some at reasonable prices. I'm not really a casino person but it seemed ok but hate to see live dealers replaced with machines on craps and roulette.

Rama Casino is definitely one of the best casinos in Ontario. It’s a great spot for entertainment and enjoyment, especially for spending weekends. The gaming platforms are exciting, and if played properly, there’s a good chance of getting returns and having fun at the same time. The only area I’d say could improve is the complimentary drinks — taste-wise, they aren’t the best quality. Otherwise, everything else is excellent. Overall, I would give it a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars.

We had such an amazing time on the Muskoka Steamship "Pirate" Boat Trip! I went with my 6-year-old daughter and her grandparents, and it was the perfect family outing. The experience was so fun and interactive, the crew did a fantastic job keeping the kids entertained the whole time. It was also budget-friendly, with affordable drink options on board. I loved that there were lots of seating choices both inside and outside, so you could enjoy the beautiful views no matter the weather. The boat was also accessible, with washrooms and even an elevator on board, which was great. This is such a fantastic family vacation idea, and there’s lots to see and do in the area before or after your cruise. We would definitely go back ... highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun, affordable, and memorable day with the family!

Today, we had the pleasure of taking a delightful 2.5-hour cruise on the beautiful Lake Muskoka. The weather couldn’t have been better—warm sunshine, calm waters, and fresh air all around. The entire journey was accompanied by captivating stories told by our knowledgeable guide. Lake Muskoka is truly vast, stretching roughly 30 kilometers long and 10 kilometers wide, with depths reaching up to 70 meters in many places. The cruise departed from Gravenhurst, just about 150 kilometers north of Toronto—a perfect distance for a day trip. What makes this lake so unique is not just its size, but the sheer number of islands scattered across its waters—each with its own charm and story. At one point during the cruise, we sailed through a narrow channel between two islands, only 9 meters wide. The ship passed so close to the shores that it felt like you could reach out and touch the trees. It was magical. This incredible experience was made possible by Muskoka Steamships, a company that operates two historic vessels on the lake. One of the ships is an astonishing 125 years old and still proudly cruising. Both offer a variety of tours—with or without meals on board—and provide an unforgettable way to explore this iconic Canadian destination. We loved every minute of it. The cruise, the scenery, the stories—it was all absolutely worth it.

A great way to see the Autumn colors around Muskoka Lake. The trip takes about 2.5 hours. The wharf and the boat are clean and well maintained. The staff are nice and the guide is very knowledgeable about the history of the lake and surrounding lake.

Reservations made in advance made it very simple and easy to get our printed tickets. The 2 1/2 hour trip was wonderful and the host extremely well versed in the Muskoka lakes trip was outstandingly and humoursly informative.

Went on the 2:30 sightseeing cruise. The gentleman that did the commentary was awsome. Great storytelling about the area.

I went to Santa’s Village with my family and honestly, I had never heard of it before. When we arrived, I was really surprised by how much fun it was! The new Yeti roller coaster was a blast — my kids loved it and we went on it many, many times. The whole place has a great family vibe and lots to do for kids of all ages. Just a heads up, there are only a few food stands, so it’s best to plan ahead and line up early for lunch before the crowds. Overall, it was a fantastic family day and we’ll definitely be back!

10 Stars, great place to take the family, likely to be enjoyed by kids under 10 but still great for all, staff at all the rides and venues are super friendly not like most Carneys, only food is extra and a few additional like Elf ID card etc, not constant cash grab , there is a gift shop at entrance/ exit. Food was good, rides were good and Yeti coaster was excellent. Great value for your money, free parking even, went on a Saturday and no wait in any line, absolutely amazing experience. Recommend 100%

We had an amazing time at Santa Village! The natural surroundings are absolutely beautiful — tall trees, fresh air, and a peaceful atmosphere that makes it feel like a true getaway from the city. It’s the perfect place for families, especially with young kids. The attractions are really well done and fun for all ages. Our children had a blast exploring all the rides and activities. Everything felt safe, clean, and well-organized. What really stood out to us was the Halloween event — it was magical! The decorations, costumes, and themed activities created such a fun and spooky atmosphere without being too scary for the little ones. It was clear that a lot of thought and effort went into making it special. Santa Village is a fantastic destination for a day trip or weekend adventure with the family. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Spent the day at Santa's Village with the family. An annual trip to Santa's Village is a family tradition and we always look forward to it. The weather was hot today but it didn't bother us at all as we were able to remain cool thanks to the breeze coming off the water and blowing through the trees.That is one of the things I love about Santa's Village, that it is nestled in amongst the trees along the riverside. The rides are great and the natural setting is a beautiful bonus. This visit we were able to test out the new roller-coaster The Yeti! It got two thumbs up from every member of the family except the youngest. We also rode on our family favourite rides like Santa's Summer Sleigh, The train, and the Pepermint Penguin. We decided to give the Yule Log a try for lunch and we're pleasantly surprised. Service was fast and friendly and there was something on the menu to please everyone. Added bonus was the AC and washrooms inside. The highlight of Papa's day was attending Elf School. A fun time was had by all! It is always worth the drive to Bracebridge as every summer needs a bit of Christmas magic!

My wife and I took our daughter. We went this year during the Halloween Spooktacular. She loved the rides had a blast. This is a great family fun park. 2nd time we have gone here, will take her again. Staff was also really friendly. Ohh and got to meet Santa early. Highly recommend for family fun

Fantastic Halloween visit at Santa’s Village—festive, friendly, and perfectly not‑too‑scary for kids. The Pumpkin in the Pines trail, cheerful inflatables, and riverside photo spots made it feel truly magical, and staff kept lines moving and areas spotless. Big thumbs up for the new Yeti Trek coaster: smooth, zippy, and just the right dose of thrills for families without being intimidating. Five stars for a well‑run, memory‑making fall day—we’ll be back!

We stopped here on our way to Huntsville and had such a great time! I visited as a kid, but it was even better coming back with my family. Our daughter loved every part of the day—especially the elf training! The rides were a lot of fun for the whole family, and the staff was so friendly and welcoming. The lines weren’t too bad, and we were pleasantly surprised that the food and ice cream were very reasonably priced. The Yeti Trek Rollercoaster is definitely a must-do! We’ll most likely be back again next summer for another fun visit.

Muskoka Brewery is a great stop if you’re in the area. They’ve got a solid selection of drinks to choose from, whether you're into craft beer or just trying something new. The place has a relaxed, vacation-y vibe — perfect for a casual afternoon. They also have some really cute merch and even a few fun, fragrant hand soaps that caught my attention. All in all, it’s a cozy, welcoming spot that fits right in with the laid-back Muskoka feel. And don’t forget to play a quick round of cornhole while you’re there P.S. — the images isn’t of the brewery itself, it’s from the Muskoka cruise — just wanted to share the overall feel of the place!

A remarkable beer shop and brewery in Muskoka. They sell various beer with different flavours and they also have beer that is almost zero alcohol for young adult to drink with parental guidance.

Detour ISA it’s the best Canadian beer. It’s just perfect. One the best beer recipe around the world. Should be sold everywhere not only in Canada, other countries should know what’s this guy do.

Was a fantastic stop on our way to Algonquin! Awesome beer selection and a cozy, welcoming vibe. The tall guy behind the bar was on another level. I accidentally ordered the wrong drink, and he immediately offered to replace it without any hesitation. I tried the beer flight with the bartender’s choice, and you could tell he really put thought into the selection. It really made my day after a long drive from Waterloo.

I like the IPAs from Muskoka Brewery. We had two flights, the IPA and the Adventurer. The Pineapple Ninja is very fruity. Love the Hazed, juicy IPA. However, I favourite is the Nitro Latte, the foam is very creamy and actually tasted like coffee. They don’t have much food options there as the food truck isn’t there, so we had to settle for the pretzel with beer dip. I feel like the pretzel was just heated up by a microwave, and it is very tasty with all the salt sprinkled on top, the dip is also very salty, maybe they want you to consume more beer that way. However, with the pretty and dip at $17, I really would recommend people to stay away from it.

This is a pretty good maple farm located closer to the Cottage country in Muskoka. It's a family owned 100 acre property that has Maple trees planted on 50 acres of it. They have nice options of light to dark maple syrup varieties available for purchase. The bottles too are in different sizes and types to select from. My favourite part of the visit was the soft ice cream infused with their dark maple syrup served in cups or cones. It was one of the creamiest ice creams that I've had in a long time. A pretty good place to see if you're in the region closer to Muskoka or Huntsville.

A must stop for visitors and locals, alike. Sugarbush Hill is about as authentic as you could want for a maple sugar bush experience. The folks who run it are friendly and welcoming, with a wealth of knowledge about the history and process of making maple syrup. It's worth going anytime, but especially so when tours are open. Be sure to walk away with a sweet treat, you won't regret it.

Lovely experience here! The maple ice cream "cremee" and candies are delicious. The trail throughout the woods with the maple trees was very unique. Owners are very friendly and knowledgable. I recommend visiting if you are in the area!

Sugarbush Hill Maple Farm was a nice little farm. Plenty of parking and a shop to buy some of their products. It's also nice to see the history of maple farming on display too. There was a hiking trail, but we didn't have time to go. The maple ice cream was very good.

Such a great stop. The hiking trail is beautiful with great informational stops along the way. Maple ice cream is to die for and the maple syryp delicious. Worth the stop.

The Maple Cremee is amazing, very creamy and a subtle maple flavour. The prices on all the products are ridiculous, which granted a small business has its fair share of costs and we end up paying for quality. The customer service was nonexistent and they charge 50¢ for additional spoons which was ridiculous.

A group of us visited the farm for a Maple presentation and tasting and had a really great time. Tom was super helpful and friendly and gave us a detailed history of maple syrup and how the tapping and boiling process has evolved over time. Super interesting and enjoyable experience. Beautiful farm and beautiful maple syrup!!

Beautiful lookout, nice city view, river and the forest behind. Fall Colors where wonderful. Parking is tight on weekends. There is one parking lot on to and one at the bottom for those who done want to hike.

You don't need to purchase advance tickets to visit this place. It's free for entry and open 24 hours. You drive all the way upto the lions lookout point on the top of the hill. Their is a small parking place on top. You can also find parking lot at the entrance of the hill near lookout sign. However, I recommend drive all the way to top if you wanna skip 1km steep hike Breathtaking Fall Views at Lions Lookout is a Must-See in Huntsville! 🍁 . If you're anywhere near Huntsville in the fall, a trip to Lions Lookout is an absolute must. I visited during peak foliage season, and the views were nothing short of magical. The entire landscape was painted in vibrant shades of red, orange, and gold — it felt like stepping into a postcard! The lookout offers a panoramic view over Fairy Lake, the Muskoka River, and the town of Huntsville, all framed by rolling hills ablaze with autumn color. Whether you're a photographer, nature lover, or just out for a peaceful walk, this spot won’t disappoint. The short hike to the top is a bit steep, but it’s well worth the effort. There are benches to rest along the way and once you reach the top, the scenery makes it all worthwhile. It’s also a great place to watch the sunset over the colorful treetops. **Tip:** Try to go on a clear day for the best visibility, and bring a camera — you’ll want to capture this view. Highly recommend visiting during the fall. It’s one of the most beautiful places in Muskoka to experience the changing leaves! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Really nice when you got up to the top, you can drive up and park there where space are still available or park below and hike up to the lookout (shuttle train in summer months). Be sure to check out the scenery in various directions; beautiful view of Huntsville and Fairy Lake especially in the fall.

Worth the hike. DONOT take your car up but park at the community centre there, if you don’t hike, you miss the on road fall wonders. Most beautiful pictures ever taken there by us. Will visit again and again. It’s a free point, no ticket required.

Do NOT go on a weekend 💀 The traffic was from the bottom of the hill to the top parking lot We luckily made a U-turn and parked somewhere else near by and made the walk up the hill which I wouldn’t recommend for anyone with mobility issues or seniors When I left to walk down the hill people were still in traffic going up the hill that I recognized when I was walking up, they didn’t get very much farther along. The actual viewing area is very over crowded. View is decent.

Lion’s Lookout is a lovely spot with great views over Huntsville, but be prepared for some parking challenges—especially on holidays or long weekends. The parking lot at the top can get quite crowded and there’s often a bit of traffic going up. If you don’t mind a short uphill walk, parking at the Heritage Place lot is a good alternative—it’s not far, though the slope is a bit steep. Funny enough, it always seems to be cloudy or rainy whenever I visit, so I haven’t seen the view on a perfectly clear day yet—that’s my little regret. Still, Huntsville is such a charming town that I always enjoy coming back.

Balsam Lake Provincial Park is the kind of “close-enough to get there, far-enough to feel away” escape that is a win for us. Its clean, sandy, kid-friendly beach and easy hiking trails/scenic loops provide a well rounded experience (note, many trails were closed when we went due to an earlier wind/snow storm bringing down some trees). The park and campgrounds are well-maintained and family-friendly. Since we camped there, we got to the beach early and was able to feel comfortable as the beach got crowded later in the day. Be aware, the campground roads are a bit narrow, so be aware while driving and walking. At Balsam, you’ll get solid outdoor fun, decent facilities, and a comfortable dose of nature with your ice cream at the Shop.

Balsam Lake Provincial Park offers a truly wonderful outdoor experience. The lake water was exceptionally clean and inviting, perfect for swimming and enjoying a peaceful day. The overall environment was calm and friendly, making it an ideal spot to relax and unwind. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the facilities. Both the beach area and the campsites were well-maintained and spotless. However, I was disappointed with the state of the washrooms, which were quite dirty and could have been much cleaner. This is one area that definitely needs improvement. Despite the issue with the washrooms, I'll definitely be visiting this park again. A key tip for anyone planning a trip: if you want to secure a campsite, be sure to book 5 or 6 months in advance, as spots fill up very quickly. This park is a gem, and with a little more attention to the washrooms, it would be perfect.

Great spot! Well maintained, easy to navigate. Some secluded spots or plenty of wide open sites. The comfort station was well maintained. Lake is nice, solid beach with sand for the kiddies. Parks and open fields to play in. Rentals are available to canoes and such.

This was our first visit to Balsam Lake Provincial Park, and we wanted to wrap up our camping season surrounded by the beauty of fall colours — it did not disappoint! Our RV site was spacious, spotless, and perfectly located. I love that the park is close to the city, making it an ideal weekend getaway. It’s absolutely worth the visit — a must for anyone who enjoys peaceful nature escapes. We had an amazing weekend here. The park offers beautiful waterfront trails, a clean and inviting lake perfect for swimming, and a well-maintained beach. There are several park stores nearby for snacks or essentials, and the campsites are large, quiet, and relaxing. The grounds are very well kept, the beach is lovely with clear water, and the comfort stations are clean and easy to access. Whether you prefer open sites or more secluded spots, there’s something for everyone. The park also features great amenities like canoe and kayak rentals, open fields for games, and a lookout point with a breathtaking sunset view. We’ll definitely be coming back — a truly relaxing and memorable camping experience!

Balsam Lake is one of the best camping spots within a couple of hours from the GTA. The campground is clean and well maintained, with spacious sites and plenty of trees for shade and privacy. The beach is beautiful — shallow, sandy, and perfect for kids. The water is clean and calm, ideal for swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding. There are also several hiking trails, canoe rentals, and lots of wildlife around. If you’re looking for a peaceful nature escape with great lake views, a nice beach, and solid facilities, this park is highly recommended.

I really enjoyed this park. Our first time here won't be our last. I like the fact that it's close to the city so it's perfect for weekend camping. Well worth the visit actually a must .

Very beautiful provincial park that we visited this saturday to see fall colors. You need to have a reservation beforehand to enter into the park. There are two lakes Mayflower and arrowhead. I loved the latter one for its beautiful view and ability to do kayaking in it. There is a beautiful huge visitor center with ample parking on site. The lake is just behind that. Lot of campsites, so it's definitely a good contender for summer/ early fall camping. The big bend lookout here is famous, and it's a splendid view in peak fall colors. There is a brown bridge over Arrowhead Lake that enhances its beauty, and you can capture really good photos there. Trails are nice. Washrooms were clean. We spent our weekend well.

In general, the park is great. It has a couple nice lakes & small rivers to paddle on. Some nice hiking trails and even a couple trails designated for mountain biking. Tried it all and enjoyed it thoroughly. However when it rained, our campsite, as well as our neighbour’s site became a pond; and not just a little area. This should not be happening nowadays. There’s a beautiful visitor centre.

Came here for the fire and ice! The weather was unforgiving but the atmosphere was great! We had lots of fun with the ice and snow! I loved the fresh snow here. We managed to do cross-county skiing as well as day and night skating! I loved that they had skating helpers.

Great Provincial Park in Huntsville that has a multitude of hiking trails ranging from 150m and up. From the moment you cross the park boundary until you get to your site you can’t help but constantly stare in amazement at natures wonder. Granite rising above the ground level and creeks and lakes offering hours of exploration. You’ll feel like you’re the first to view the sights and sites. Mayflower Lake & Arrowhead are both amazing lake to canoe , kayak or hike around. The Big Bend-only 159 meter walk to this sight from the parking lot. Find out how Oxbow Lake was formed. Stubbs Falls cuts it’s way through the Canadian Shield as it descends. I have completely enjoyed myself here this fall and shall return for winter events like FIRE & ICE.

Arrowhead Provincial Park is now in my list of top 5 provincial parks. Arrowhead in the Fall is awesome. The colors, hiking, biking and camping are excellent. I highly recommend this campground and I'm planning future trips to experience the winter and summer activities. Maybe we will try a cabin next time.

We had a great time. Campsites are spacious, clean washrooms, and showers. Unfortunately, it was raining the two days out of three that we were there. We did some bike riding and took some pictures. Beautiful park.

Overall, would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone in the area! Our group had an awesome time and the tour was reasonably priced for what you get. The scenery was great - saw a couple bears too. Would be nice if they allowed some "free time" to play around on the ATVs (aside from just following the leader on the trails), but overall a good experience. Definitely fairly physically demanding though.

What a blast! We rented snowmobiles for 5 hours and had such a great time! We were true beginners but Holly was so helpful and we were good to go! Absolutely worth it if you get a chance and these guys do it right! We will hopefully be back to do some ATV runs in the warmer weather. Thank you so much for making our first time a great one!

Kim was such a patient and fun guide. For a first time ATV user she was able to go at a pace that worked for me and made me feel comfortable throughout the experience. My husband and I chose to do this as a kid-free adventure for our anniversary and we will definitely be back. The trails were a beautiful way to explore the area and see the fall colours, too. We had a scenic and easy route and saw streams and lakes, hillside, and beautiful forests on our trail. For those who are cautious like me, this is one adventure you definitely need to try. I am so happy that I did it and that I pushed past my fears. I highly recommend Back Country Tours—you will don’t be disappointed.

Really good time snowmobiling with this group. Great instructions given at the outset, and an awesome run through the forest, topped off by the best part....100km across the lake for the finish! The ladies in the office and our guide, Joe, were all great to deal with and we had a blast.

While the boat was satisfactory...the experience of renting it was not a positive one. They were not prepared for us by having the boat ready...then they switched the boat for another one...it took 4 hours to complete the rental. The manager is difficult at best. The other young man that took over for him was EXCELLENT to deal with...but his professionalism was not enough to make up for this overall experience.

Breathtaking view from the lookout point. We reached at 9 am and had booked tickets beforehand. We were the first to climb the tower. It wasn't too busy. Its a steep climb up due to which my elderly parents couldn't make it to the top of the lookout point.

Went on Sat Oct 11 for 9am. Already had a decent crowd, it was raining so the stairs were pretty wet but the views were still amazing! I would recommend wearing gloves as my hands were soaked and freezing from gripping the railing going up and down (realized after they also sell in gift shop for $1.99). Portapotties where the parking lots is, was pretty clean (at 9am) A great little stop for nice pics! Go early.

Visited in the first week of October on a weekday – highly recommend weekdays since weekends get too busy. Parking is about $16.50, or you can park outside and walk in for around $5 per person. The tower view is amazing for fall colours, and there’s a nice little trail nearby too. Bathrooms and a small shop are available, but better to bring your own food.

We went late October. Still beautiful scenery, however just catching the tail end of fall colours. Lots of photo shoot opportunities and little gems. The actual look out tower is not supervised by park employees- so during peak season/hours, it’s very congested climbing up and down which can cause some anxiety. The little gift shop was nothing special. Was able to take beautiful pictures and videos Great site for small pic nics

The view from the tower was amazing. It is good to go during the peak season of fall as you can see the vibrant colour's of the nature. The tower on top cannot hold more than 30 persons so need to be careful on top.

Really lovely place. Views are great. Staff is very helpful and friendly. There are 2 porta potties, one accessible for a wheelchair. Parking is right there so no long walks.

Another beautiful lock and park area. The staff were friendly and patient. Really cool experience going through the locks. Loved visiting Bobcaygeon, made me feel like part of the song.

staff is super friendly and you may refill your tap water for your houseboat here. we spent two nights here(go and return), there is a little beach where kids love swimming there and water is warm. the adults did paddling upstream and the water is peaceful and the view is gorgeous. definitely will be back next year.

Bobcaygeon lock is a super cool place to go through and come ashore. Shops line the Waterway so there's lots to see and do. Staff at the lock seemed overwhelmed with zero communication with any vessels entering the lock, causing multiple vessels yelling at each other to see who was going where/ which side. This was disappointing to witness. We requested camping in the lower side so e could carry on our journey long before the lock opened. We were directed to the point of the island with the absolute worst takeout and a space to camp smaller than our 2p tent footprint. Only after making do with just airpads and lots of bugspray, were we informed we could have gone around and come up to the park from the ramp. Note, always ask the same question to more than 1 lock staff member as not every one will know camping protocols. Despite the setbacks, id say Bobcaygeon is a great lock to visit and experience at least once.

A gem in Kawartha lakes. Beautiful landscapes and tasty local restaurants make this small town a outstanding destination in central Ontario. Recommend to visit in summer than winter.

Line up at the blue line in your boat, wait for the green light, get in the canal and then it takes about 5 min for the water to rise up to Sturgeon Lake.

Awesome lock. But be careful of the wind coming down the channel, it can make going into the lock from the pigeon lake side difficult.

We were so fortunate to host our son's wedding at the village. Wendy is truly the kindest person and so accommodating. She helped make the day a fairy tale. She was incredibly helpful in guiding us in terms of permits we needed, suggestions and answered all my many many questions. She allowed us to decorate the village and was on hand the day of to help handle any issues that arose - which there were none. I wouldn't hesitate recommending this beautiful location for any important celebration. I’ve visited Kawartha Settlers’ Village a few times now, and every experience has been wonderful. My first visit was over a year ago with my aunt, and I was blown away by the amazing history this place has to offer. The volunteers are so knowledgeable and passionate, it’s clear how much they love sharing the stories and heritage of the village. Kawartha Settlers’ Village is generally open seasonally from May 1 to September 30, offering visitors the chance to explore the beautifully preserved buildings and learn about the area’s rich pioneer history. One of the most magical times to visit is during the Festival of Lights, for one weekend in November, the entire village is beautifully decorated and brought to life with lights, and displays that will amaze people of all ages. It’s truly something you don’t want to miss. Pass for event: (November 14-16, 2025 Festival Pass: $15 per person (come and go as you please) Free admission for children 12 and under! (Prices might be different) What makes Kawartha Settlers’ Village more special is that it’s mostly run by donations and dedicated volunteers. Great place to visit in Kawartha Lakes if you’re into history and artifacts. It’s a quiet little village filled with an old school, fire hall, houses and other cool spots. Lots of historical facts are provided throughout the visit as well.

It's a really interesting and neat place to explore. Great for all ages. Sometimes there is a teacher at the school who teaches you about how the kids were taught back in the day

Attended the Craft Beer and Food Festival. Already looking forward to next year. So many great local vendors - tried some new food spots. Friendly event staff and so many beer/cider choices. $2 drink tokens were great!

It was an enlightening experience. We had the privilege of going when the blacksmith was working. Got to learn about some amazing metalworking and an upcoming Christmas ornament project! I find the entire village is very knowledgeable while maintaining the true history. I've been coming here since I was little and I'll be sure to visit again when I can!

A fantastic place to visit to learn about the history of Bobcaygeon. I also enjoyed the trail.

Nice place to explore and possible to spend a few hours if you want some place quiet with nice scenery. There are two parking areas and one is next to the museum which has a lot of interesting things to look at and a scavenger hunt. I took out one star as the QR codes were not working for us.

Paths are so easy to walk...colors are awesome and the little dock on the lake was a peaceful moment with nature. This is a must do. Enjoy the different art sculptures along with the serenity and beauty of Mother Nature's forest .. Great job by the team that maintains that area. 👍👍.

I guess we all rush to Algonquin park in Fall to see the colours. But this is a must see! Spend an hour or so in this peaceful and inspiring forest. I am sure it would be much more beautiful in Fall.

Stopped by on our way back from Bancroft. The forest was beautiful adorned with the sculptures. Our kids loved checking out the sculptures, some of which were interactive. The trail itself was a easy walk, there were many benches stationed throughout the trail if you want to take a break.

I like the sculptures, it's quite a short trail, I would like more. When I look at the website, I saw big hands and settings other sculptures I didn't see, I think that means they rotate exhibits. It was nice to hang out at the water for a bit.

Peaceful and beautiful! So much variety in the sculptures, loved all the pieces. Not far off the main road, free parking, and free entry. Donations are welcome

Our recent family trip to Haliburton Forest and Reserve Area was absolutely wonderful! The cabin was spotless and had everything we needed, including a kitchen with all the essentials. My two 8-year-old daughters and I especially loved hiking the trails – the forest trails were tranquil. We swam in the lake and even met Galen, who takes such great care of the trails. He was incredibly helpful in showing us the trails. A big shoutout to Bella, the Wolf Centre guide, too. She was so knowledgeable and made learning about the wolves a fantastic experience for us. We also had an unforgettable time with the astronomy program. Our astronomer was incredibly patient and taught us how to spot different constellations, including the "teapot" and the Polaris star. We were amazed to see the Milky Way, a dying star, and other heavenly objects through the telescope. I also want to mention that the reservation responses from Melissa and Megan were prompt and helpful. I highly recommend Haliburton Forest to families with young kids – it's a perfect blend of nature and adventure!

A beautiful location. They have campsites, cabins for rent a small store on site. Apparently they have 350 km of groomed snowmobile trails in the winter. We went for the canopy walk. You start with a van ride into the forest in 'Van go' then an 800 m canoe ride that you help paddle across a small lake. From there you take a short hike to where canopy walk starts. It is a very tranquil location. Safety is number one priority. After you walk through the forest canopy you have a short hike back to the canoe for the trip back to the van. It was approximately 4 hours long. Well worth the price with a knowledge and friendly guide.

Extremely educational place to go! The staff are very passionate about their workplace, with good reason. There is an observation area to see the wolves, exhibits showing various wildlife, some of which you might not ever see live, and a short movie/video you can request to watch in their in-house theatre. The giftshop is very reasonably priced and has a little something for all age ranges. They encourage people to call ahead to ask if the wolves are out in view beforehand, which I think is a great idea. This was our sixth visit to this site, and it won't be our last.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time as a group in late September, the best time of the year. We booked a canopy tour that lasted about four hours, and it was a truly great experience.

Amazing experience doing Clay shooting with our instructor Steve. Did a bachelor party activity after finding this online. Had a blast, some of us have shot before and some first time. We all agreed it was very good value and a ton fun. We would LOVE to come back and do it again.

This place has had my heart for 30+ years. It was grown with the times but still has traditional camping at heart. The lots are private, the waters beautiful and the trails are doable. I try to come back every year even if it's just for a day pass hike.

Didn't get to see much the day & time we went but it's not super expensive. $15. The front also gave us option to go in or knowing they hadn't seen much of the wolves that day so she did let us know. We did end up seeing one at a distance. Museum is not huge but interesting. Small , quaint place to do a short visit. Wolves raised as natural as possible and keep their natural behaviours which is great. Staff is very knowledgeable.

Best spot with amaaazing lookout, it's must visit spot if u r in the area... very very picturesque spot but with limited parking.. drive to it is one of the best...

Beautiful view on a hill top. We picked up our food and came here to have it. You can find few tables attached to benches to sit and eat. People who drives via Haliburton village can stop here to enjoy this scenic view :)

Amazing park, picnic spot and lookout! Located right above Haliburton with a perfect view of the town, anytime of the year. Easy access, right off Highway 118W, with paved road all the way up, in decent shape.

Fantastic views of Haliburton and area. The drive is not long just off the main road and worth it. There's picnic benches here, parking, so it's a great place to take a break on your way through Haliburton.

Easy access to a wonderful view. Eventhough we went here towards the end of October we were still able to witness some great fall colours. This is a spot that you should not miss whn yku are in town. Porta potty needs a bit of cleaning though :-).

Must visit in Haliburton village during autumn. It's a small park but offers amazing valley view without any hiking. Small trail is attached to the main point if you want to explore nature.

A picturesque place at the top can see the whole town .We visited during fall time .There is no trail just the spot to take photos.There is no separate parking space available have to park just a few yards back from the skyline park.We went there on weekend it was not much crowded. ✅No parking fee ✅No trail to walk

Beautiful setting in the middle of Algonquin Park. The paintings are a lot of Group of Seven like style landscapes. They have a little store with some interesting things to purchase. Great place to go on a rainy or cold day when camping in the park. There's no charge but they ask for donations on entry.

Nice place to visit, lake side view is nice too. But when you step in the Art center, you start questioning who really does end up paying for such expensive art. Like there were paintings worth around CAD 12,000 in there. So it was just a walk through Art admiration trip for our family and nothing more. I would never stop here to waste my 30 mins during busy HW60 stoppvers.

Visiting the art center is always a part of my park visit! Being inspired by the scenery on a hike or a drive, and then appreciating how others have been inspired by the landscape to create, is a highlight of every trip. I’m so glad the gallery has reopened, the renovations look beautiful

It’s a really nice art center, they have really nice paintings from so many people there. It’s amazing to see, like for real. A little shop in the front for gifts and stuff but if you are into art, stop there because otherwise you miss out. Enough Parking space in front of the door. And the have a dog there, such nice guy, but I don’t think others are allowed

I LOVE having this art studio/gallery/gift shop in the Park! I stop in several times each year and keep informed via their newsletter. As an artist myself- this venue is so important to me and it wouldn't be a visit to Algonquin Park without it! Go and see the amazing art for yourself- seeing artists interpret the sights will broaden your appreciation for the nature and wildlife that the Park has to offer!

Great art experience. Michael Dumas art in house. I was so happy. Daughter is a painter so hearing her explain techniques and styles was a highlight. Beautiful exhibits. Not what you’d expect from outside. Tom Thompson stories out front were a great bonus. Huge fan.

Pay attention to the opening time. If you go too early, the door hasn‘t opened yet. There are enough parking spaces at ordinary times.

Its an awesome hike if you wish to witness the sun set beyond the hills with fall colors all around you. There’s one bit where the incline is steep enough to get your heart rate up but for the most part you could get through it with ease if you’re moderately active. Carry water as always

Booth’s Rock Trail is one of those hikes that perfectly captures the beauty of Algonquin. The path is well marked and easy to follow, with a good mix of forest, lakeside, and rocky viewpoints along the way. The lookout at the top is absolutely worth the climb — it offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the lake and surrounding forest, especially when the sunlight hits the fall colours. It can get a bit busy at times, so if you want to enjoy the peace and take photos without too many people, it’s best to go early in the morning. The trail itself is moderate, a nice balance between a workout and a relaxing nature walk. Even though many leaves had already fallen when we visited, the landscape was still beautiful — golden tones, crisp air, and that calm feeling you only get deep in the park. A must-do trail in Algonquin for anyone who loves a scenic hike with a rewarding view at the top.

Such a beautiful view. Didn't expect a 5km walk/hike but it's really worth it when you reach the top. We also saw a moose right before the end of the trail.

Booth Rock Trail is a great 5km hike that took us less than 2 hours round loop to finish with plenty of stops for viewpoints, photos, and even lunch. It’s rated as moderately difficult trails in Algonquin however we didn’t find it as bad and we had a dog with us. It did have a rewarding lookout at the top. The fall foliage was quite nice when we went on September 30th! Definitely book your permit in advance and arrive early as parking is limited, and by the time we finished at 11am, the lot was already full.

I’ve done this trail in the fall twice and both times were great! This trail probably has more incline than the track & tower trail but definetly feels shorter in length. There are a few sudden drop off (cliff) spots so just keep an eye out for those if you have pets/kids with you.

Decent trail, some nice views. The trail is easy to follow, enough marks well placed. The only thing to improve are the washrooms that are already closed in this part of year and the one that was open was so grose that you'd rather poop your pants

What a gorgeous hike with incredible views! Definitely wouldnt bring children or dogs - you hike right along a steep cliff
