SEA BUCKTHORN pick yourself or buy already picked. Lots of other products based on sea buckthorn available. You can walk around the orchard- make it a family trip and learn a lot of this fruit and how good it is for your immune system! This place is amazing. The fruits are so good for you and it is a pleasure to pick them. I am so happy that I found this place, I can’t wait for next year to come back.

a magnificent garden for collecting sea buckthorn. berries are very juicy and tasty. honey aroma. trees are low, which does not cause difficulty in collecting. excellent vitamin charge for the winter period. the staff is very friendly. very quiet place. rested well. you can assemble it yourself, you can buy already assembled .take gloves to collect, tree with thorns. they also sell products with sea buckthorn, such as creams, oils, soaps, etc. You can buy shoots for planting on your site. I recommend, even the child liked it.
Vlas O — Google review
We were pleasantly surprised by our visit to The Healing Arc. The personalized service and sample frozen berries was great! The price charged was very reasonable. Our male and female Sea Buckthorn plants are looking good. Nice country drive.
Paul M — Google review
Love this orchard - we went end of August with harvest in full swing. We sat in the circle with the rest of them, plucking berries. They are deliciously tart, but so healthy too. The owner, Marlene, is very informative.

Really responsive and helpful! They offered tips for the G2G trail (definitely used them). We rented two bikes to ride from Blyth to Goderich and back. Highly recommend! They also had a lock for us to use, and the bikes had water bottle holders, mud guards and front fany-packs. Tires were pumped and breaks were in excellent condition. 👍

Incredible selection of TOP quality leather products From shoes to hats. I wanted to replace a favourite leather coat. We found with the help of the kindest lady in the Men's section. We tried a leather place in Acton but no where like The Old Mill We have bought wool blankets and leather purses in past. Its worth the drive

What an amazing place, I went here when I was 16 and now that I'm 51 and back into motorcycle 🏍 riding it was a must stop, still have all these years it's an amazing experience and place to visit, I can't wait to go back, great service and great prices on amazing products.

What a wonderful experience! My wife and I stumbled upon this place during a self-guided tour yesterday. Walked in and were blown away! Beautiful, best quality merchandise. Very fair prices. I've read a couple of reviews on here complaining or commenting on the prices but I strongly disagree. You get what you pay for, folks. This isn't Danier; this is the real thing. Great decor too. But the clincher? Wonderful service! Joan was so nice. And Amanda was absolutely amazing. Loved her! Loved the store! Bought 3 winter coats. Can't wait to go back for more!
David A — Google review
Huge store, great selection of clothing. Surprisingly Not a good selection of cowboy boots. And the customer service wasn’t great. When im going to spend $500 on a pair of shoes the least you can do is provide good customer service. The sales rep seemed annoyed and and wasn’t overly friendly.

Point Farms Provincial Park

Provincial park
Nature & Parks
Point Farms Provincial Park, located just north of Goderich, is a hidden gem known for its family-friendly beach and beautiful surroundings. Once the site of a Victorian-era resort, the park now offers a large sandy beach and well-maintained facilities. The area is primarily for RVs but also accommodates tents. Visitors can enjoy clean washrooms and easy access to the gorgeous waters and expansive shoreline.
It was amazing! Great camping sites, great views! Plenty of parking space, staff are nice! If u r here, go to the beach! 100% worth it! They got a playground for kids, most importantly dog friendly! You can bring them to the beach as well. In a word, it's perfect!🥰
W Z — Google review
Nice park off of the Bluewater Highway (21). Not a wilderness park by any stretch of the imagination, but handy for recreational vehicles to camp and day users for hiking and the beach. The beach is pretty nice with soft sand on most areas, aside from cobblestone rock and driftwood. Great area for rock hunters as the variety of rocks and stones is really astounding, apparently carried by glaciers. We picked a full bag of garbage off the beach, although some of it may have washed ashore from Lake Huron. The water off the beach is quite shallow for the first 50 meters or so, which keeps the water warmer than normal Lake Huron temperatures. There are some decent hiking trails in the Park as well, and a nice camp store. Overall a very pleasant spot, and opportune for those without a cottage or don’t want to afford a resort.
Ian M — Google review
We very much enjoy our stays. There are no quiet hours at the park, and you might end up not sleeping well because of loud neighbours. A small sound machine and/or ear plugs can help if you are a light sleeper. Water shoes are a lifesaver at the beach. It's pretty rocky when you first enter. Water is gorgeous, though, and we spend full days at the beach. The showers, bathrooms and laundry facility make life so comfortable while camping.
K M — Google review
Point farms is in a beautiful location. The landscape changes alot depending on where you are in the park. The old farms trail was extremely beautiful and took you all around the park. The facilities were clean and well marked out. The park store was a decent size and had lots of park merchandise to buy. The campsite seemed very nice and clean.
Brent — Google review
Nice provincial park to visit for a couple of nights. The Old Farms Trail is an easy hike through some woodlands. The beach is nice (though a typical pebble shoreline in most parts of the water). The washroom buildings are very clean and well kept. The 'outhouse' buildings were pretty smelly but did have a sink area with running water. Campsites in Huron were fairly private and pleasant.
Mark P — Google review
Red carpet welcoming of tree lined roadways into the park entrance. The drive is equally as calming & vibrant as the park with spectacular views of the Great Lake Huron! White sands compliment the stunning views and miles of outstretched beach. Dog friendly (leashed) and sparse amenities at beach area. Small park store with souvenirs & clothing. No online registration required however, beach area closed due to capacity mid afternoon. No lifeguards on duty & due to rocky shores, need water shoes to battle rocky bottom and the enticing waves! Bring refreshments and enjoy the flavour of paradise!!! 🏖
Deborah D — Google review
We reserved group site 403. It has its own trail to the steps going to the beach. This section of beach is fairly private. Campground has a great store for supplies. Washrooms could have been cleaner. Would visit again.
Linden W — Google review
First time visiting this provincial park... although quite busy when I camped here in August on a cycling trip, that was to be expected. I actually enjoyed the busy-ness of families vacationing here, and the truck also of young kids whipping around on bikes throughout the park. I took an early evening jaunt down to the beachfront, and it was absolutely spectacular along the shores of Lake Huron. Only a few folks remaining on this long and vast beach, the air was cool and crisp and the surf was rolling in as I watched the sun set over Lake Huron. You can see Goderich in the distance southward. This truly is a fantastic place to come and play in the water. Point Farms Provincial Park also has some pretty good amenities - if you're planning a longer road or cycling trip, this place has laundry facilities and also a small convenience store where you can stock up on some basics if need be. Laundry was bit expensive to be honest - $3 for a wash and another $3 for a dry (and you'll need quarters or Toonies, the machines don't accept Loonies) - although I didn't really need to do laundry, I took advantage so that I'd have fresh cycling gear on my return trip back home. Highly recommend a visit and a stay at this park.

Huron Historic Gaol

History museum
Sights & Landmarks
The Huron Historic Gaol, a distinctive building that operated as a jail with a focus on humane treatment since 1841, is now a popular tourist destination in Goderich. Visitors from around the globe flock to this site, often booking tours in advance. Led by knowledgeable guides, these tours take guests through the corridors while providing insights into its history. Goderich boasts rich Ontario history and the Huron Gaol stands out as one of its key attractions.
A Fascinating Step Back in Time – Perfect for Curious Minds! We visited the Huron Historic Gaol as part of our family trip to Goderich, and it truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we stepped inside, we were transported back in time. The self-guided tour was well-organized, with informative signage and interactive displays that even kept our kids engaged and curious. The architecture and preservation of the building are impressive. It’s amazing to see how much of the original structure and design has been maintained. The old cells, guard rooms, and courtroom gave us a real sense of what life was like in the 1800s—both for the prisoners and the staff who lived there. The stories of the inmates, especially those involving women and youth, were eye-opening and led to some great conversations with our older children about justice, history, and society. What stood out the most was how the gaol is not just a historical site but also a deeply human one. It reflects the evolution of the Canadian justice system and how rehabilitation and human rights have progressed over time.
Shahzad K — Google review
The Huron Historic Gaol is a fascinating place to visit and really gives you a glimpse into the area’s past. The building itself is well-preserved, and walking through the cells and halls feels like stepping back in time. What I especially appreciated were the listening tools provided throughout the site—they share the history in a clear and engaging way, making the experience even more immersive. A must-see if you’re visiting Goderich and interested in local history.
Danzi D — Google review
Great spot with loads of info about if you take the audio guide. Staff is really friendly as well. Well worth the price ( especially combined with the Huron Museum). Lots of parking but be aware it does warm in there in summer ( lots of fans inside ).
Jean-Francois D — Google review
Informative tour, they give you handheld devices where you punch in the number of the exhibit and you put it up to your ear so only you can hear, it's not loud enough to disturb other people's experience. Some architectural details are very beautiful, especially in the center with the spiral staircase, the upper floor where the courtroom was and the Jail Masters house. Interesting design for the cells, a drab view for the incarcerated, but there were windows to let in some natural light. Outside in the courtyards they have a garden which is now used for growing food for the local community soup kitchens. If you're into history, this is a worthwhile stop.
T H — Google review
We came to visit this attraction in Goderich for a weekend visit on a Sunday afternoon. The admission price was fantastic and it is a self guided tour. One can add the audio portion for free, a device that you can listen to on your ear, punching in the 3 digit numbers scattered across the place. The place is clean, well lit on a sunny day, taken care of and preserved well. It was recommended to start at the 3rd floor and work our way down, which we did. The audio was fantastic because you listen to so much history and interesting facts about the belongings, the rooms, the prisoners, and people who ran the jail. The place got busy as the time went one, but not so crowded as it is a smaller area. They have a small souvenir shop at the front where the admission is paid. Highly recommend as a stop to visit in Goderich, ticket price is amazing, the building inside and outside are well maintained and an interesting history to be told. The self tour took about 1-1.5 hour, if taking time to listen to the audio and going room by room.
Deedee — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Huron Historic Gaol — Goderich, ON Small but fascinating historic site! The self-guided prison tour was really interesting, and the entry price was very reasonable. I highly recommend getting the combo pass for the museum — it made for a great day of exploring local history. Just be mindful that it closes early (4:30 pm), so plan your visit accordingly. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.
Emma P — Google review
Get a piece of Canadian history, the Gaol was built between 1839 to 1842, the Gaol had prisons, small courtroom and a chapel , antique artifacts are displayed showing the piece of history, the entry fee is nominal and lot of parking spaces available free of cost. The Gaol tour will take kind of 20-25 mins. It is located 250 meters to the Huron Museum and near to the downtown.

Bridge
Sights & Landmarks
The Menesetung Bridge, located in Goderich, Ontario, is a historic railway bridge that has been repurposed into a picturesque pedestrian walkway. Offering stunning views of the Maitland River, Lake Huron, and the harbor, it provides an excellent opportunity for a leisurely stroll while taking in the natural beauty of the surroundings. The bridge also serves as a starting point for various trails that lead through the adjacent forested areas.
One of the top places to visit when in Goderich. What a incredible view from the Menesetung Bridge. The Menesetung Bridge was the longest bridge in Ontario at the time of its construction and is a fine example of a typical Canadian Pacific Rail bridge. The seven spans each measure 104 feet in length and 12 feet in width, creating a total length of 750 feet. Parking is available at the base of the bridge.
Dan C — Google review
This lovely trail is well-maintained. Easy to navigate with some amazing scenic views of the area. Unfortunately, the famous Bridge is still under construction and we weren't able to walk across it. Fingers crossed it will be completed by next year when we visit again.
Danielle L — Google review
Amazing! It's a well maintained wooden bridge. It's fantastic scenery from the bridge. You can overlook people fishing on the boat and canoeing. Some people rode through the bridge. We were there in a Saturday morning in September. It's not crowded. The parking is free with 3 hours limited. It's close to water front tourist area.
金玫Barrie J — Google review
Part of the Tiger Dunlop trail. Free parking at the south end of the bridge- walk up the gravel path for a stunning view of the golf course on the right/east. Lots of birds. The bridge is amazing and there are some historical signs. On the left/west side, at the north end is a loop trail - no distance but I would say maybe 2km? It is mostly flat and easy to follow. It follows the river at first, so you can see (and hear) the salt mine facilitates. I thought it would bring us to a nice view of Lake Huron, but no. It’s all woods. There is an ancient oak tree with it’s story on a plaque. When you get back to the bridge you can continue north if desired.
Jen H — Google review
Easy hike and beautiful scenery... That's a win win for me. It's a nice relaxing place with amazing views as a reward. The paths are wide and easy to walk. Bikes are allowed too.
Ashley F — Google review
I love this bridge💙 Perfect day to walk and see a nice view of Lake Huron, parking is free ( big bonus! )... there are trails that you can enjoy after the bridge as well. We walked here last July 2nd, and the view was super pretty. We even saw a beaver from the other side of the river swimming across. Just perfect for our afternoon delight. xx
Rhon G — Google review
What a bless to have the view from the bridge. The fall colour, fresh air, the shady trail, and the shallow river below for fishing. Another must go place in Goderich. Lots of parking on the entrance by the trail to the bridge. Short and easy way up there. Not crowded even on Sunday.
Sen C — Google review
What a beautiful day for a walk on the bridge, they called for rain but we missed it. My friend and I enjoyed the beautiful view and met the sweetest lady who was camping near by, she told us about her travels. I think we were both in awe at her experiences, she was retired and just camping from place to place. Thanks for the wonderful, memorable day.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Huron County Museum — Goderich, ON We visited the jail first and then headed to the museum — you can buy tickets for both right at the jail, which is super convenient. The museum was much bigger inside than I expected, with two floors full of interesting exhibits to explore. Lots of local history, artifacts, and displays that kept us engaged the whole time. We had a great time here and definitely recommend visiting both the jail and the museum together for full experience.
Emma P — Google review
Visitied both the museum and Gaol at the same time, you need to spend 20 mins approx in both the sites, the museum is a must visit to know Canadian History, the ticket price are nominal and Helpdesk is very polite and helpful. Parking is available all around and near to the downtown.

We came to visit the gaol, and then headed to the museum. It is huge, it has a big collection of artifacts. My kids had a lot of fun. We spent there a couple of hours in a rainy day. Definitely recommend

We were in Goderich and found this museum. It happened to World Museum Day and the entrance was free! A nice museum with so many things to see specially from Huron County. All the agricultural/farm equipment, bicycles, farm tools, military stuff and so much history from homes. The highlight? An entire coal steam engine (it is massive) inside. You can get in and feel the size of it. There was a section for the salt mine which was still under construction but still open. The lady was so kind to walk us through what was available and explain how salt is mined in Goderich - works largest underground salt mine. I am so glad the brand that we purchase is mined in Goderich. Elbows Up!

Well maintained and beautiful trail system. Trail is split on the sides of Morrison Line. Around 8.5km if you do the whole trail. Staff were incredibly nice (thank you to all). Free parking. Gazebo for lunches. Port - o - potties at various locations, including at the baseball field near Exeter. Kid / dog (on leash) friendly. We donated to the conservation as we enjoyed our first trip here.

I’ve walked these trails everyday nearly for 8 years, I moved to port franks and still drive the 40 minutes to walk these trails atleast 5 days a week, they were horrible in the winter BUT these last 2 years they have actually been maintaining the trails in the winter until now…? After the storm last week I assumed the trails would’ve been bad so I didn’t come until today, a week after all the snow and am beyond upset with how terrible they are, the bridge out on the trail in the country where the conservation building is isn’t cleared at all not even an entrance to it, snow was up to my knees so I had to walk on the road to the other side of the trail just to find out the trail wasn’t maintained at all after the snow fall LAST WEEK. so I walked back across the bridge/road to the parking lot (inconveniencing a ton of traffic and feeling pretty unsafe) to try walking the trail the other way around if maybe more people had walked it to pack the snow down just to find a ton of trees fallen on the trails and not cleaned up. 80 min of driving and gas wasted because people aren’t doing their job and maintaining the trails - I expected this last week which is why I waited a full week to come to the trail, I had realistic expectations due to weather conditions.
E. M — Google review
beautiful trails for walking. incredible bridges, the park is very well maintained. even in bad weather there will be an opportunity to pass along the trails. paths on both sides of the road and the lake. you can walk for hours.

Great trail with many different types of paths. Easy to Moderate. Lots of birding possibilities. Great spot to check out in all seasons. Easy access. Parts are stroller friendly and kid friendly with playground equipment along the way. West side is more "urban" and the East "rural".
Donica D — Google review
One of the prettiest conservation areas around! Great wide trails, bridges and boardwalks, waterways, open parkland spaces, playgrounds, and picnic areas. And we got to see two of the white squirrels (white Gray Squirrels, not albinos) that the area is known for. Will definitely come back when the leaves change, as I'm sure it will be spectacular with all the maples in full colour!
Ellen B — Google review
Great trail. Well maintained, easy, ample parking. The hike mostly in the shade of the trees and I wasn't bothered by bugs. Lots of wildflowers.

Truly just had such an amazing experience with our two tour guides Mac and Adam. They are so knowledgeable and exciting! We also had great communication with Kat for booking our tour. Would recommend this to anyone!!

It’s a nice place for kids. They have a lot of great artifacts and details about regional archeology. It’s definitely on the smaller side and less polished than a more well-funded museum, but it would be a good option for schools or parents to spend an afternoon with children. The Google Maps information on ticketing is incorrect. $35 is a group tour price. Individual tickets range from $7-$8 depending on age.

I am a co-op student here for the summer and it is an amazing place to visit. My time there has been pleasant and the activities such as pottery is tons of fun! The artifacts shown such as old pots and arrow heads are very fascinating and the museum is very open to feedback to improve the museum! Amazing experience and I would highly recommend to visit it if you can!
Acedux — Google review
Great place to go and spend an hour with the artifacts, unfortunately it wasn't bigger there wasn't a outside display. Cost is $8 but should be free to let people take pride in the heritage of our country.

I was incredibly surprised by the thought and care placed by the staff for our visit. They were patient with our questions, gave us ample time to explore further exhibits on our own and use the drone we brought to use on the Lawson site. It eas especially thrilling have the augmented reality tour outside at the Lawson site. I will definitely be going back again. I felt like I learned a lot.

We had a great day and learned alot. The staff made this trip very fun and informative. We will come back again and we have already recommended this place to other families. I do wish we could have gone inside of a longhouse though. The gift shop is great. Bring money
Melissa S — Google review
Museum was very cool as was the workshop. I only removed one star from my rating as we attended with 5 kids aged 6-12 and I felt the tour guide we got wasn't used to kids? She wasn't able to present educational info in an accessible way for the younger ones. Used a lot of big words and long explanations. 12 year old thought it was great, but the other 4 were bored and confused a lot. Could have been a bit more kid friendly to simplify explanations.
Laura J — Google review
Lovely museum specializing in Ontario early history that not many have heard of (or so it would seem). In addition to standard exhibits, they have a VR station and they are located next to an archaeological site: a town that is over 500 years old. I helped host a catering event there, which the owners tell me they want to start doing more of. So if you are planning an event and you are looking for a place to hold it, consider the Museum of Ontario Archaeology.

The unique and original architecture of the winery provides a stress-free environment to enjoy fine wine and delicious food. Visitors can indulge in frozen rose, perfect for hot days in SW Ontario, while enjoying exceptional service from the staff.
We stopped by before a show at Huron Country Playhouse. We had a wine sampling, and each tasting was better than the last! Our host was friendly and informative, and we ended up bringing some bottles home with us. The place is beautiful, as well.

In all my years in London I just now discovered all the wineries here in this region. We tried out this winery first and it was stunning actually. The building itself is quite glamorous and the back patio facing the vineyards is beautiful. The two wines I tried weren’t too bad at all especially the rose. I had hoped to have some pizza but they weren’t offering it on this day. Next time for sure. A very nice discovery! 👍😎

A hidden gem in Grand Bend! Absolutely stunning property — the perfect blend of charm and elegance. This would be a dream venue for any event, with its picturesque vineyard views and peaceful atmosphere. I had lunch on the patio and enjoyed a glass of Chardonnay, which was crisp, refreshing, and paired beautifully with the delicious food. Although I didn’t do a full tasting, the options looked fantastic. 10/10 recommend stopping by if you're in the area — it’s a must visit!

From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was delightful. The food was absolutely amazing—every dish was delicious, and the flavors were expertly crafted. We particularly loved the oysters, and the steak was perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. A truly wonderful dining experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for great food and a memorable evening. Five stars!

Grand Bend Beach in Ontario is a bustling urban beach with a boardwalk offering various eateries and shops. It's renowned for its extensive freshwater sand dune ecosystems and commitment to sustainable tourism. The area spans about 20 acres of sandy beach, attracting both locals and tourists across generations. Grand Bend has a rich history as one of the region's earliest beach towns, featuring shops, food vendors, and recreational activities.
Grand Bend Beach is beautiful, a wide stretch of white sand and stunning blue-green water. It was our first time swimming in Lake Huron and it was a great experience! The beach was peaceful in the morning and got livelier in the afternoon, which is expected in mid-summer. The nearby Main Street had plenty of great restaurants to enjoy. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back.

Grand Bend Beach is absolutely beautiful! the sand is soft, and the atmosphere is perfect for a summer day. There are plenty of restaurants, ice cream shops, and little stores nearby, so it’s easy to grab food or snacks. The sunsets here are breathtaking — definitely worth staying until the evening. It can get busy during weekends, so arriving early is a good idea. Overall, it’s one of the best beaches in Ontario for families, couples, or even solo visits. also parking is FREE after 6 PM

The beach is beautiful, clean and has a lot of activities you can do. Swimming, rafting, playing volleyball all are available I went with my friends in a beautiful sunny day and we enjoyed all these activities. From the beach you can walk in entertainment street to eat, drink and to do extra activities The place is great particularly in the summer weekends and must be visited

A Perfect Lakeside Getaway! Grand Bend is an absolute gem on the shores of Lake Huron! The main beach boasts stunningly clear blue water and soft sand that rivals ocean coasts. We loved climbing the scenic tourism hills for breathtaking panoramic views and visiting the charming historic lighthouse. The vibrant main street is full of great restaurants, cute shops, and ice cream parlors. The Art Gallery Beach adds a nice cultural touch to the natural beauty. It's the perfect destination for families, couples, or anyone looking to relax by beautiful waters. Highly recommended for a summer day trip or weekend getaway!

Great Spot for Swimming and Relaxation This is a great place for swimming the water is clean and you can feel the soft sand beneath your feet while swimming. Lots of nice sandy area where you can relax and enjoy the warmth. There’s a beautiful walking market where you can buy food, clothing, and more. The market has a charming 1950s vibe that adds to the experience. You can also rent boats and jet skis for around $150 per hour. The only downside is parking-it costs $8 per hour, and it can be challenging to find a spot close to the beach.

Street parking is $6 for 2 hours. Beach was pack with patrons but still have walking space. Not dog friendly so please leave furry friends at home. Enjoy a sunbathing here and not needing to fly to Bahamas. Plenty of drinks, ice cream and restaurants to fill your tummy after. The city should banned aggressive dogs on sidewalks.

The rugged terrain and scenic landscapes provide stunning viewpoints overlooking the valley.
Nice little park with multiple trails. Views along the thames river are very nice. You can walk along all the trails within 3hrs. Parking fees are about $6 for 2hr

Amazing Park and Trail, very clean and dog friendly. Some of the views are absolutely breathtaking. The boardwalks are well maintained and only one small 10 foot section was muddy, which could be difficult to traverse for some other trailer walkers. Great hike for everyone! Unfortunate that the trail “requires” you to make an account to use. I have no issue support our local / provincial parks and trails and I’m happy to donate to them. I do have an issue supplying my home address & other personal information to sign up and walk outside in nature. An easy solution to would be to have a parking meter or even an attendant taking donations if it really is that important to regulate the parking.
Keelan S — Google review
A very long trail, so if you like taking pictures, I suggest you give yourself enough time before sunset!

Pleasant Provincial Park with some nice nature trails. You get a great view of the massive Thames River as you go through this park. Many dog walkers, easy trails, a pleasant experience.

You have to pay for parking before entering park / trails. The machine was absolutely brutal and didn't work for us. Ok, as for the park / trail. It was beautiful with tons of shade from the trees. But saying that it was beyond boring. I saw 1 chipmunk 🐿 and that was it for wildlife. If you are up for a hike, I would definitely recommend this place. If you are sightseeing no, I wouldn't recommend it.

Beautiful paths, water views and good exercise. So peaceful with mental health and plenty of evergreen trees keep it colourful all year long. One risk is it’s easy to get lost so watch your location and paths and check a map. A lot more families and kind people around too considering the pandemic. Love it.

Make sure you pay the $6 for parking , they do check ( $30 ticket ) great trail . Wear good shoes , quite a bit of tree roots . Good work out , but there are some stairs to climb . Beautiful and peaceful!

The market combines elements of an antique flea market and farmers market with offerings from local pickers, producers, farmers, artisans, coffee roasters and restaurants.
This was easily the best outdoor market I've ever been to. A mixture of unique vendors, local spirits, awesome food options, along with traditional market fare. If you're in the area when the market is open, go. It's a great couple of hours.

Open air market, so be aware of weather. Market offers numerous vendors for produce, foods, antiques, clothing, decor and much more. Washrooms onsite. Many vendors accept digital payment but one may wish to bring cash.

So many great vendors all in one place along with a variety of food trucks. and honestly with the number of people that are there the way they have the parking set up is pretty awesome. I highly recommend visiting the binary market if you are in the area, it only cost two dollars a person to get in.

Eclectic market in the middle of nowhere, with a variety of market vendors. $2 per head entry, loads of parking, we'll worth a visit, lots of vendors of all kinds, plenty of food options including food trucks, you can easily spend a few hours here. Shout out to the kettle corn vendor that stuff is like crack 😋 (apparently thats the secret ingredient 😉 )

Had a great time at the flea market today. We were there for 4 hours shopping, stopping to eat & listen to music. Only request is another spot for a bathroom at the opposite end from the front entrance. We were 3 adults & 3 kids & had to make many trips back to the front entrance where the ladies room had a constant line up (5 of us needed the ladies room). I'm sure the vendors back there would like this too.

My boyfriend and I visited the Pinery this fall for a quick camping trip, and we were absolutely captivated by the beauty of the area! What a stunning area of Ontario. This Provincial Park lived up to its hype. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. What an amazing and large park! Camping sites in the Riverside campground (area 4) were spacious and private despite the large number of sites. Facilities and amenities were all clean and well stocked. The various beaches were beautiful. It was like being down south with the beautiful white sandy beaches and the aqua water! And it's a short drive into Grand Bend, a beautiful little town.

Awesome campsites!! We had 3 campsites for 2 nights and it was so fun! The sites are clean and spacious. They were close enough together but still offered privacy. AND we barely felt any mosquitos!!! The bathrooms and showers were also cleaned regularly. Great place for camping with kids! They can be loud and dirty and enjoy so many outdoor activities. The beach area was beautiful! I can't say enough good things about it. We will definitely go again.

The lights were beautiful—spread out along the trails, with lots of spots to stop and enjoy. The village setup adds a unique touch, and it’s nice to see some history mixed into the experience. A great place to take kids or just enjoy a quiet walk in nature during the holidays. Definitely worth a visit in December.

Great place for an outing even in the winter! Journeyed into the Resource Centre and spoke to a few very educated employees. Was great to pick their brains about things we saw and they educated us on some of the things they had displayed in show cases. Large glass windows peer into the woods while you can watch the birds feast on the feeders. Helpful signs helped us identify some of our feathered friends 🐦 Labelled trails and trees along with boardwalks that cross over lazy river like streams bellow So peaceful They also have the long houses to explore Pretty cool to see the history preserved in this village 🌽

The area features small waterfalls where visitors can enjoy the refreshing cold showers and take a dip. Children can have fun collecting stones with different patterns and playing in the mud. The conservation area also includes a museum that is enjoyable for kids. Entrance to the area costs around $4.5 per person, with or without a vehicle.
Fantastic waterfall and so refreshing on a hot summer day. It was easy to find, plenty of parking and a quick walk away. Our toddler was curious and adventurous. The water was cold but you got used to it fast. The rocks weren't too slippery either so it was easy to walk on and wade through. Highly recommended.

Great spot for a hike, if youre hiking down the creek bring proper footwear. Lots of large rocks to walk on and hop across. Stair access also available to get down/up. Beautiful site. The basin at the bottom of the falls is popular for swimming.

Did not find a fossil. Was a great place for a little hike. The waterfall actually had water! It's been a super dry year and most of the waterfalls are pretty dry this year. We chose to be adventurous and followed the stream from the waterfall all the way down to the river (we did not take the path). It was nice climbing all the rocks and seeing att the little spots that way, plus no people. There was so much clay everywhere! Was it worth the entry price... Undetermined.

Nice for photos of stream, waterfall, Ausable River, fall colours, boardwalk, children's play area, a museum open on weekends. Great set of stairs...155 steps up one way and 142 up the opposite direction if you're training in flattish Ontario for hiking. My son and his fiancee had their engagement photos taken here and they turned out beautifully.

Gorgeous waterfall, of course! But so much more, too. We had an education field trip first, learning about mussels and turtles while waiting out some lightning, then went on a creature hunt in both the woods and streams. The kids loved it! Cassie is so helpful, kind, and creative as both an educator and a trip facilitator. The paths through the woods do involve a LOT (over 120!) stairs, but you can park in the lot closest to the falls, and just do the stairs down to the falls themselves (guessing about 30 stairs). This is also the place to go to find so many fossils, and also see some incredible natural clay.
T B — Google review
Nice small trails, with wooden stairs leading to a beautiful waterfall (close walk to the first parking lot) The visitor centre is old but interesting (has old house smell, could use some renovations) many picnic tables throughout the park so bring your own food.

During a nearby stay, I visited Forest Glen Herb Farm, where a friendly cat greeted me. This farm offers an extensive array of herbs, seedlings, plants, and flowers. Additionally, they showcase various dried spices and teas while offering handmade gifts crafted from plant materials. Cynthia has dedicated over 40 years to curating this remarkable selection with immense passion and hard work, earning recognition from the Ontario government. To fully appreciate her collection and gardens, one must see them in person.
I was drawn in by the promise of organic garlic and stopped in close to closing time. 😋 Thankful that Cynthia was able to take a few minutes for me before heading out to do some errands. Looking forward to the garlic, and plan to arrive earlier next time and explore some more. Thank you!

We visited this herb farm during our stay nearby. The cat was welcomed us into the site. This herb farm has a huge selection of herbs, seedlings and many other plants, flowers. They also have many kinds of dried spices, teas and lots of hand made gifts made directly with plant products. It’s hard to describe with words everything Cynthia has been maintaining and collecting over 40 years with great passion, dedication and lots of hard work. She has been awarded by the Ontario government for her work. One has to physically see her collection of items in-store and the plants in her garden. There are some rare South Asian herbs as well that I couldn’t believe were at this farm which I found nowhere else in any nurseries. Definitely a worthy visit. A botanist’s paradise for sure.

I would give 10 stars at least!! Loved my first experience in Petrolia and at this gorgeous theatre attending the opening show of Sweet Soul Music on July 6th. Oh my goodness! Another amazing, soul uplifting and magical creation by the uber-talented Mark Payne whom I had first seen at The Crooner in St Jacob Village in 2023 and which I LOVED! Do attend this "hit parade" of toe tapping and singing hits from the 60s and more! Justin was brilliant, fun and charismatic as the lead singer and our host; his voice was so versatile and perfect for the different songs sung. I especially loved his singing the Stevie Wonder songs and how he engaged with the audience. His girls/ladies, Maddy, Imaari and Olivia were gorgeous, talented, as a trio and individually. I loved the fact that they were each spotlighted with their own songs which had been perfectly selected for their voices. Olivia's VPP debut was super sweet and memorable; I could see and feel her gratitude from being on stage from where I sat and I was super excited and proud of her! I look forward to seeing where she and the rest of the artists will go next! The Starbright band was super talented and such a joy to see and hear. Loved seeing Mark sing and have so much fun with everyone. The atmosphere in the theatre was fun, positive and the energy was super high! Thank you to David Hogan for the brilliant direction and choreography. I sat in the first row of the balcony and it was fine for me but if you are tall or are afraid of heights, that row would not be right for you. Staff at the theatre was friendly and the butter tart I tried at intermission was delicious! Do go see this Fun and Fabulous show before it is gone....You will have the Best time, guaranteed! Thank you to Marlon for speaking with me after the show - another fan girl and arts lover magical moment for me! ❤️🎉

I have have been coming to the Victoria Playhouse since 2000 and during the last 10 years I have been coming with 14 to 16 friends and every year more friends want to come because the musicals are absolutely tremendous, fun, visually attractive and the voices are equally great. I credit David for producing such amazing productions. We thoroughly enjoyed Rockin' the 50's and we are coming again to see the Abba musical. Keep up the great work and I would love to see Million Dollar Quartet next year. Worth every mile of the drive from the Detroit area. Thanks for the enjoyment.

First time there. Quaint old house. Sound system very good. Could here the play clearly. Had seat in the balcony. Only problem was that the washrooms were in the basement. They are trying to raise money for an elevator and washroom on the upper floor. It is also wheel chair accessable. Will return with my sister next time.

And we, all.of the audience, knew them irrespevtive where of zhis global Earth sphere we were coming from. Kudos to the amazing performances of Justin and his singing Ladies: Madeleine, Olivia, and Imaari. What to tell you about the incredible Mark Payne with his Orchestra? Many knick knacks and other things to choose from. Very pleasant staff and wagons and trays to make it an easy trip. Its about 1 hour the long way avoiding the 401 highway. We recommend this for a nice trip with anyone. No reason needed also works.

Had lunch, the sandwichs were pretty good actually. Could have probably ate 3 of them.lol Food menu was a good size too. Very busy place but there's lots of stuff to buy. Lots of parking though and lines moved quick. Frozen foods and fresh. Everyone was buying the pies.

Worth the visit. Pick your own items are well priced and fun if you enjoy that. The bakery goods are excellent. Pies, scones, tarts, cookies, etc. Again, fair pricing, in my opinion, and no skimping on the fruit. Delicious! There is a restaurant seating area for enjoying lunch items made in the shop as well. I found the staff to be very cheerful and friendly. I will certainly return.

We've been picking blueberries here for years. The farm is huge, and the berries we pick are large and sweet. We especially recommend the wide selection of pies in the gift shop. Every time we go, we not only pick a ton of blueberries, but also have a simple lunch and buy some pies. It feels so good to come home with a full haul!

Unique, well displayed museum. So surprising, I had no idea that the oil industry started here. Great short informative film with great displays. There is a very knowledgeable guide there. What she doesn't know isn't worth knowing! Friendly and inexpensive.

The museum is great- recently renovated, exhibits are very informative, and the staff were great. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because the whole place smells overwhelmingly like a chemical plant, to the point of being hard to bear. Which is a shame, because otherwise it's surprisingly good.

Quiet beautiful place. Perfect for summer beach day with family. We went on this year Aug 3 with group of 20. Enjoyed this place. Enough parking at beach. Life guard and washroom facilities. Cleaned pebel beach. Only thing at 10' from shore it has water upto neck and left side river causing high current. Definitely need to keep an eye on small kids that they fo not go in too far. Swiming and snorkeling is good idea here. Nice view for sailing boat and vessels. Lots tree at shore provides good shades.

Beautiful beach and park. Lots of space and not crowded(the Hidden Cove beach gets a little more crowded due to its size). Lots of free parking. Playground areas for kids, picnic areas, nice trails. Great way to spend a summer day.

Beautiful day - 17 degrees. Feb. 9/24 The sand was quite clean which made our walk enjoyable all along the beach. The park itself is quite large with many people out and about today, along with their canine friends. There was one brave soul who tested the water! I would guess this is a beautiful park for swimming during the summer months. A place to relax, take a moment, and enjoy the water.

Well, Canatara Beach & Park is like a magical escape! When I got there, the sand was soft, the sun was shining, and I could hear the waves crashing. The park was full of green trees and colorful flowers that made the whole place look amazing. The best part was feeling so peaceful. I walked by the water and felt calm with the sound of the waves. And the sunset? It was like a painting in the sky, with beautiful colors that made me stop and stare. I can say, this place isn't just a park—it's a place where you can make great memories and feel the magic of nature all around you. Whether you're looking for adventure or just a peaceful time, Canatara Beach & Park has it all! Attached photos are 📸 below.

Huge park with long Blue Flag Beach recognition. Lots of parking close to the beach. I only went to the beach area further into the park but the beach stretches for a long length. There was an icecream cart there and washroom facility (no showers) with foot wash station and charging plug for electric wheelchair. Washroom building opened from 8:00am-9:00pm. Building also houses a lifeguard station. There was lifeguard supervision in sessions of the beach as signage indicated. Beach was sandy with some pebbles. Monitored with video cameras. I enjoyed the beach, especially watching the water skiers and boats going by when I was relaxing and not in the water; however, I was NOT impressed with the litter people left on the beach...such a surprise! The beach closer to the entrance has showers and more facilities. As for the park itself, it is huge with lots of picnic tables and shady areas, trails, playgrounds, children's zoo, bike park with moguls. You can spend all day there if you want.
R G — Google review
Excellent, clean beach. The day we went, the sand was a little rocky but the water was very calm. It's a couple of minutes away from the petting zoo so makes for a great day out. There are family bathrooms with change table.
Jagdeep J — Google review
Nice beach . It's still early in the season and facilities are closed. The weather is starting to get nice, maybe summer will finally show its face. There is a ton of nearly kept trails, and the sunset / sunrise are gorgeous here on lake huron. I prefer the sunrises as there are very few people in the morning. Plenty of parking and benches to just sit and relax to enjoy the park. A note to dog owners, the beaches are off limits to them as the city has a bylaw in place, although I've seen a few people walking their dogs early on. Personally i have no issues with that as all the owners I've seen are responsible.

Very good historical descriptions with pictures of paintings of characters involved. A good description of the sequence of events of the Battle of the Thames. Enjoyed the large metal sculpture honoring Tecumseh. I found out the meaning of Tecumseh's name! Don't forget to read each of the shiny metal benches.

Small park alo g the Thames river that commemorates the Battle of Thamesville. Battlefield encompasses local farmlands not incorporated into the monument. Beautiful spot to reflect on the history that was made here. Good spot for birds. Indigo bunting sighted. Beautiful large catalpa trees. Shawnee Chief, Tecumseh was killed in action here. Tecumseh led the formation of an alliance of Indigenous Peoples to stop the incursion of european settlers. Tecumseh was allied with the British in the war of 1812.

Fort Gratiot Lighthouse

The Fort Gratiot Lighthouse, built in 1829 at Fort Gratiot to protect shipping at Point Edward, is Michigan's oldest lighthouse. It served during the War of 1812 and remained operational until 1879. Visitors can tour the lighthouse, climbing its 94 iron stairs for panoramic views of Michigan's rivers and lakes from the catwalk.
We truly enjoyed visiting Michigan's oldest lighthouse. You can buy tickets to have a tour of the grounds and buildings and make the climb to the top of the lighthouse. My husband and I were married here 10 years ago and wanted to take it all in, again. The staff is amazing! The views are incredible! The park next store to the historic area is very family-friendly for picnicking and swimming at the beach. It also has a great playground and lots of trees for shade.

Really enjoyed our visit. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and personable. The caretakers home was amazing. We visit a lot of historical homes and this was the first time I could touch things, pick them up and sit on furniture! So great to step back in time! The lighthouse itself was beautiful! Steps going up weren't difficult for me and the view at the top was spectacular! Really enjoyed our time at the top. Going down...that was a little more spooky than I expected, but totally doable.
Becky M — Google review
It was unexpected that I had a phenomenal private tour of the lighthouse by the Lighthouse Keeper. The keeper was personable, passionate about her work, friendly, and patience with all the questions I had. We started the tour with an explanation of the lightbulbs; usage, changes, etc. Then we talked about the different Lighthouse Keepers - their histories and experiences. We then visited different houses to see how life was to be a Lighthouse Keeper. I enjoyed the Lighthouse Keeper's house the best. I was able to touch things, see old appliances and got to see all the rooms in the house. Lastly, it was the tour of the lighthouse. I wasn't going to walk the narrow spiral staircase but the Keeper insisted that I can take my time walking (I use a cane to walk) up. When we reached the top, fog was rolling in. However, I still had beautiful views. I was able to walk around the top and the walk gave me a sense what life was like for the Lighthouse Keeper. This is an experience I won't forget to actually be at the top of the lighthouse.
Pamela L — Google review
The lighthouse is massive! It's taller than it appears in person. The inside was closed when we first arrived. We came back on the weekend and the inside was open for people to go inside for a $5 donation. It was a really hot day and there are a lot of steps and no air conditioning. I passed on going inside. I'm sure that it is a great experience for those that want to take the hike to the top. The beach below the lighthouse is awesome! We played in the water for hours and collected many pretty rocks.

Absolutely a must do! Great tour guides. Tour was around 45 minutes and then you can roam around on your own. Nice gift shop !

I recommend climbing the lighthouse. I am afraid if heights & clumbed the 94 steps to the top & stepped out into the landing. You get a beutiful view of Lake Huron, Blue Water Bridge & Canada. My husband even got me a necklace of the lighthouse in the gift shop for climbing it.

The Blue Water Bridge is a stunning architectural marvel that connects Sarnia to the United States, offering breathtaking views of the sky-blue water and beautiful waterfront. This border community provides easy access to major markets in both Canada and the U.S., making it an ideal destination for travelers. The bridge itself may not be as visually striking as others, but its functionality and efficiency make it a popular choice for crossing between the two countries.
It is a sight to see! With a raging river below and tons of boats, working their way up that river to escape into Lake Huron. There is a fantastic trail leading down the waterfront, lots going on with the park beside the trail and food trucks, etc.

Can be chaotic I'm backed up at times the view at the top of the bridges are wonderful when you're over the river p definitely not for the faint-hearted or the person that is scared of heights. What walking under the bridge at the boardwalk or fishing off the boardwalk under the bridge is great delight you can catch him anything along with walleye and salmon or see people scuba diving along the river

Unfortunately if we would have had kids there which we would enjoy the pool but couldn't because it was filthy the floors the bathrooms. The room stunk I don't know if it was the carpeting or what it was we complained and they brought us up a bottle of breeze to spray all over our room we've got pictures that will be included not impressed with this place at all, there was food inside the air conditioner that made it stink trying to cool our room down the faucet and the tub ran and ran and ran, fix holes in the walls, wallpaper coming apart just totally disappointed!!!!

I have been going to this museum since I was in elementary school, and even now at 19 I love it just as much. I was devastated when it closed, but so thankful that they were able to reopen! There are so many amazing pieces of taxidermy here and the exhibits are incredible, you can spend an hour in each room. The prices are incredible too. I couldn’t believe it was still only $7! This museum needs six stars! Mr Cook did an amazing job of telling us the story (and serendipitously we were able to assist getting an important item to a relatives friend!) This is a must see museum if you are at all interested in the abolitionist movement, the end of plantation slavery in North America, and the beginning of the Underground Railroad. Highly interesting museum and good selection of t-shirts, educational materials and souvenirs. And our former Prime Minister says Canada has no culture of its own - untrue! Mr Josiah Henson sounded like a God fearing and courageous man!

Excellent info on international slave market, slavery in North America, and the visionary Josiah Henson. Some very powerful murals and artifacts. Church exhibit involving local residents is exceptional. Staff was knowledgeable and professional.

The Josiah Henson museum is a wonderful place to learn about Black history in Canada and the Underground Railroad! The exhibits and guides are extremely informative and provide a deep understanding of area and north American history, as ell s slavery and those who fought it.

I have endless things I could say about this place, but I’ll leave it at this. Grandma Jackie as we called her is an incredible guide. The building is exceptionally done and its care and intentionality with the story and adjacent parts is moving and well done. If other museums could put this level of care into theirs, we would all be better for it. Standing on history that is consciously being preserved and the “righting” and “writing” of history here makes this trip and the travel worth every second. I’m so glad to have had this experience and I’m grateful that we had incredible people like Jackie to lead the way and instruct us and teach us and care for me and my group with so much love and passion and command of the space. This is place I’ll be coming back to when I’m old and gray.
