Birch Bay State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
Waterfront park with a large campground & 1.5-mile rocky beach with abundant shellfish.
Birch Bay State Park is a real gem nestled in Blaine, and I've always found it to be a wonderful place to spend a day or even a weekend. One of the park's biggest draws is, of course, Birch Bay itself. The shallow, warm waters are perfect for wading, especially for families with young children. You can often see people clamming or crabbing when the tide is out, which adds a fun, interactive element to a visit. The bay offers stunning views, especially at sunset when the colors paint the water and the distant mountains. Beyond the bay, the park boasts some lovely walking trails that wind through the forest and along the shoreline. The Terrell Marsh Nature Preserve, within the park, is a fantastic spot for birdwatching. I've spotted various waterfowl and other interesting birds there. The trails are generally well-maintained and offer a peaceful escape into nature.

We had a wonderful time camping at Birch Bay State Park over the Fourth of July weekend! The campground was clean, peaceful, and perfect for families. One of the most memorable moments was celebrating the holiday by the beach—watching the full moon rise while the kids played with glow toys under the stars. The sky was absolutely stunning, and the beach atmosphere felt festive and magical. It was a relaxing and fun experience for all ages. We’ll definitely be coming back!
Aniez R — Google review
This is a beautiful park with spacious campsites and large trees. There are not very many hikes. This is more of a place you go with your family while frequenting the nearby beaches and playgrounds. The bathrooms were clean, and there were ample showers. Plus we saw bald eagles several times!
Gregory P — Google review
Stayed for 2 nights at Birch Bay State Park. They keep 1/2 the camping spots open in the odd season but there was plenty of room when I cam in for a spot late afternoon. The pulllouts are large and easy to park with fairly level driveways. Good access to the beach and lots of areas to walk. There is a general store about a 10 minute walk away that has anything you may have forgot.
Chris S — Google review
Nice campsites that have good places to pitch a tent. The bathrooms in the 1st loop were very nice and were warm. There is not much privacy between campsites, which didn't bother me, but could be an issue for some.
Julie E — Google review
Love this área. A go-to for a relaxed Sunday drive. Beautiful nature and a nice picnic and campground. Full amenity. Highly recommended.
Larry L — Google review
We had an excellent time at Birch Bay State Park. There is a beautiful long stretch of beach so even when it is crowded, you can find spot to hunker down. Picnic tables with barbecues are everywhere. The campground is very well maintained. The campsites are spacious and tucked into the woods.
Endora B — Google review
Nice view and people. Most people are so friendly. You can see the sunset. If you come at night, you can feel the private beach, all yours…

Peace Arch Provincial Park

Mentioned on
4 lists
Park
Nature & Parks
Nestled in Surrey, BC, Peace Arch Provincial Park offers a tranquil retreat for both nature enthusiasts and history buffs. The park boasts lush lawns and gardens perfect for leisurely strolls and picnics, as well as the iconic Peace Arch that spans the U.S./Canada border. Visitors can revel in various scenic views while walking amidst the picturesque landscape. Additionally, 1001 Steps Park provides a zigzagging trail leading to the beach for wildlife observation.
A historic place with a scenic view of sea and land. Immensely peaceful but gets crowded on weekends. Nice provincial park to spend a day with family. Parking gates close at 8:00 pm and opens at 08:00 am so plan accordingly.
Imran K — Google review
Good one to spend 1-2 hrs, make sure to park your car on the parking otherwise you have to come through border security which will take not less than 1 hr. Parking is on first right turn and there are not turns beyond that point
Naman — Google review
Beautiful park on the US-Canada border. The park has large green open space. The peace arch towering the park is magnificent. There is ample free parking. The view of the ocean, totem pole and Japanese garden are really good. But the most unique thing about the park is that people from US and Canada can meet without going through immigrations. There are rangers who monitor that there are no illegal crossings but nothing is checked while you are in the park. The park is very peaceful and well maintained. USA also maintains the park on the other side of the border. The US side has a play area with some swings in addition to restrooms and picnic shelters. Looking forward to visit again.
Mir T — Google review
Peace Arch Park is an ideal spot for family outings and mini picnics! The lush greenery, spacious grounds, and tranquil ambiance create the perfect setting for quality family time. Kids absolutely love exploring the park, playing games, and having a picnic under the clear blue sky. With ample space to run around and plenty of picnic spots, it’s a wonderful place to create lasting memories with loved ones. Highly recommended for families seeking a fun and relaxing day out!”
ARPITA S — Google review
An interesting and spectacular place where the border between the two countries, America and Canada, has no guard, the park has a picnic area and a children's play area, you can visit both sides of the park in America and Canada.
Eva Z — Google review
Shopping in the US is our family’s routine every now and then. I loved to see the historical Peace Arch with its gorgeous garden across the border. It’s a beautiful monument situated between the communities of Blaine, Washington and Surrey, British Columbia.
Bernie — Google review
This park is very hard to get to or find if you have never been there before. Google maps takes you all over the place even tries to send you across the border to the USA, but does not give good directions to get there. When you get to this park it is very small, but it has beautiful large trees and a small path to the railway tracks and you can see the beach on the other side. You are not allowed to cross the tracks. There is a sign threatening charges if you get caught. Don’t get caught crossing the railway tracks. At the end of the path you can see the USA and Canada sides of the border. Across the water you can see the Island and the open ocean. The sight is beautiful. There is very little to do at this park. If you are not going there for a planned gathering or to see the railway tracks and the beach across from them, this park is boring.
Dee D — Google review
Make sure you take the beach road exit before the US Canada border ! Orelse you will have to make a u turn and sit through a line . The police man at the duty free exit are not well trained in Canadian politeness to say the least. Park itself is amazing , you can bring your on stove and have a good time.

Stunning waterfront views, a peaceful atmosphere, and a scenic walkway right along the bay—perfect for a relaxing stroll or catching a sunset.

It's beautiful for a walk, there is a small cafe to grab your coffee and walk or jog on the bridge not very crowded, low tide and stunk.

Lake Padden Park

Mentioned on
17 lists
Park
Nature & Parks
Lake Padden Park is a vast green space located near a lake, which offers several sporting facilities like courts and fields. It also provides access to boats, fishing spots, and hiking trails. The park has ample parking spaces but might get crowded in the summer season. There are dog bag stations available but could use some more. The entire area is well-maintained and litter-free with friendly people around.
Update 2025: Just went on a winter stroll through the Padden Lake trails, and it was lovely. It's a serene place, and a great spot to escape the everyday monotony anytime of the year! Lake Padden is an absolute gem! We visit nearly every week for hiking, biking, and kayaking, and each trip is a pleasure. The paths around the lake are perfect for all skill levels, whether you're taking a peaceful walk or enjoying a challenging bike ride. There are also designated trails where dogs can roam off-leash, which is a huge plus for dog owners. The lake itself is beautiful and clean, making it ideal for kayaking and paddleboarding. The entire area is well-maintained, and the natural scenery—especially the trees surrounding the lake—adds to the serene atmosphere. Whether you're out for a day of activity or just want to relax by the water, Lake Padden never disappoints. Highly recommended for outdoor enthusiasts!
D. M — Google review
Sprawling paved paths around forested green swimming lake, showers to rinse off outside. There are several entrances, an expansive dog park, ample parking, and a tennis court. Very dog friendly, clean and they have a few trashcans about the trails.
Phrog H — Google review
Very fun Lake to take the family to. Hot days can be pretty crowded but you can usually find a small cove with privacy if you don’t want to be near crowds. It’s fun to walk around the entire lake, about 2.5 miles or so. Has some decent size hills. Also good fishing, I have not personally fished the lake but I often see people getting good catches. There are water fountains. The bathrooms get locked towards the evening. There’s a dog park along with an off leash trail. And a playground
Emily S — Google review
Great spot to walk, swim, kayak, fish....ya know, all that outdoorsy stuff. Nicely maintained.
Joel R — Google review
This is a very well maintained Park with a pristine and serene Lake. There are 3 entrances ( i believe) to this park, each with its own parking lot and amenities (such as bathrooms, picnic area and playground). We love the bike trail that circles the entire Lake and connects to the mountain bike trails. And yes, you're allowed to ride an E-assist bike here, but please respect the speed limit of 15 mph.
Shirin S — Google review
I came here specifically for fishing and while there is a dock for fishing it's dilapidated. The benches are rotted and the deck isn't much better. Tons of swimmers, kayakers, and people just enjoying their day. Seems like it would be crazy busy in June while the college is still in term.
Jared R — Google review
I spent a sunny morning walking the mostly flat lakeside loop and loved how everything feels compact and easy to use. The main trail is smooth and friendly for joggers, families with strollers, and dog walkers, while short side trails climb into quieter forested spots if you want birdwatching or a bit of solitude. There’s a small boat launch and plenty of picnic space, so bring a blanket and snacks; midweek parking is easy but weekends get busy. Wear comfortable shoes and a light layer for lake breezes.

Beautiful environment, the lake and. Picnic areas are nice, the park is well worth visiting.

SPARK Museum of Electrical Invention

Museums
Nestled in the heart of Bellingham, the SPARK Museum of Electrical Invention is a captivating destination for anyone intrigued by the wonders of electricity. This museum takes visitors on an enlightening journey through time, showcasing the evolution of electrical innovation from its early beginnings in the 1600s to the dynamic advancements seen during the Golden Age of radio and beyond.
This place was really cool! We were from out of town and took my family here. They have a ton of old authentic treasures from the 1700s and 1800s on up that have changed over the history of time. They also have some of Thomas Edison’s originals. I personally enjoyed seeing the radios and televisions that were first introduced and how they changed over time. They offer demonstrations throughout the exhibit and some also have green buttons that allow you to see how they work. We were able to see the Tesla coil show which was near. Lastly, we had young kids with us and the second floor also has a big room of items for kids to build and play with things.
Michael J — Google review
This museum offers an amazing experience guaranteed to interest all age groups. There is so much to see that you will want to come back again. The docents were very knowledgeable and intertaining and provide demonstrations of the operation of many of the artifacts. They have so many objects that they plan to expand their exhibits. This museum is both educational and fun and is a must-see in Bellingham.
S K — Google review
Amazing. I wish I knew a bit more about the history of discovery. I might have been more impressed, but, then again... more impressed might not have been possible. At some point, I was overwhelmed. Incredibly impressive collection, curating, and some of the action AFTER the Mega Zapper ($5 show) was as impressive as an unregulated Tesla Coil spitting 12' arcs. Highly recommend. I can't really describe how impressive every part of this gem was to me for a pittance in entry fee.
Marc M — Google review
Amazing for the kids that can read. A little slow for those that can't/don't want to. There are a lot of interactive exhibits and great ?docents that explain or demonstrate a lot of the cool things. You could easily spend 2 hours here with a kid. As an adult? Probably more like 4 hours and you wouldn't know the time has passed.
Ale Z — Google review
Very educational with lots of antiques—definitely worth visiting, especially for kids and students. It’s informative and beneficial. The service was great, and the volunteers, though mostly older, were very dedicated and gave excellent explanations
SOFIA — Google review
If you are in Bellingham, this museum is a must! The collection of electric devices is unsurpassed and the afternoon show is rated don't miss!" Frankly, this is a gem of a find in downtown Bellingham. Give yourself at least 2 hours and be prepared to learn a lot and have a ton of fun doing it!
Randy K — Google review
The Spark Museum is pure, unfiltered magic — a cathedral to the crackle of genius and the weird, wild arc of human curiosity. Walk in expecting a science exhibit and walk out feeling like you just had coffee with Tesla’s ghost. From 19th-century arc lamps to theremins and Frankenstein coils singing with lightning, every corner pulses with history and invention. The live shows? Electrifying. Literal bolts of high-voltage madness that’ll leave your jaw somewhere near your shoes. The staff are passionate, wildly knowledgeable, and clearly in love with what they do — the kind of folks who could casually explain how to wire a telegraph or recreate an early X-ray machine like it’s no big deal. It’s not just a museum — it’s a time machine, a laboratory, and a spark of inspiration for anyone who’s ever wondered how the hell does this work? Don’t miss it. Bring your curiosity. And maybe a grounding strap — just in case.
Richard H — Google review
The SPARK Museum of Electrical Invention is a truly electrifying experience, offering a fascinating journey through the history of electricity and its impact on our world. It stands out for its incredible collection of historic and unique items, including one of only two original Edison lightbulbs in the world and the phone used in the first transcontinental call. The museum is a treasure trove of rare artifacts, from early scientific apparatus and radio broadcasting technology to a working 1929 Theremin. Beyond its impressive collection, SPARK shines with its fantastic educational approach. It's a place where families can learn and be inspired together, with a focus on hands-on, interactive learning. Visitors can explore a variety of exhibits at their own pace, engaging with the science of electricity through interactive displays like the Morse code keyboard and a Van de Graaff generator. For younger visitors and the "young at heart," the SPARK Activity Center provides a dedicated space for creative exploration with building blocks, magnets, and other hands-on activities. The highlight for many is the "MegaZapper Electrical Show." This live demonstration is a must-see, recreating historic electrical experiments with theatrical flair. Featuring one of the largest Tesla coils in the country and a "Cage of Doom," the show is an awe-inspiring spectacle that makes science and history come alive. SPARK Museum successfully blends entertainment and education, making it a "must-do" experience for the whole family.

My 1st time at Whatcom Falls Park. What a fabulous trail walk!! Highly recommend. Easy parking. Not crowded. Beautiful scenery and you can cool off at the bottom!!!
Cindy V — Google review
This is a beautiful park with well-manicured trails, a picnic area, a playground, and plenty of open space to walk around. We visited on a weekend and it was fairly busy, so if you’re looking for total solitude you may want to choose another spot. That said, it still felt peaceful and relaxing, with lots of room to explore and enjoy the outdoors. We’d definitely come back again for another visit.

This is amazing park with many trails where you can go for a walk, jogging or cycling. There are multiple and different parking stalls on different areas. And absolutely a beautiful waterfall and lakes around the park. Many areas for pets with leash and without leash area. Other spots for a birthday party and BBQ. Don’t hesitate on visiting this place you will absolutely enjoy it.

Very cool park with ample parking, a playground for kids, paved walking paths for handicapped visitors, and several walking/hiking trails for more adventurers. There's also a fish hatchery there, not sure how active it is. Looking forward to returning in the near future.

Great hiking, walking, jogging paths along the river. Beautiful and well maintained!!

Was a quick hike, absolutely beautiful in the fall. We got wet from the rain, but it was easy to get to. We will visit again and explore more of the trail another time!
Bumble D — Google review
Amazing and cute little park! The falls are beautiful, with the amenities of a small city park (playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts, bathrooms, off-leash dog areas, etc.) but with trails that feel like you're out in the middle of the woods. Waterfalls and small creek are very charming. The pools made by the dams are picturesque. Love that the waterfalls and stone bridge is so close to the parking lot.

Derby Reach Regional Park

Ecological park
Nature & Parks
Serene park offering riverfront trails, picnic areas, camping & picturesque mountain & forest views.
Lovely place to go for a walk with your family or dog(s) ; or for a bike ride. Peaceful, flat and easy. Beautiful trees, scenery, and clean fresh air. What more could you ask for?
JP ( — Google review
Derby Reach is a great local park for the whole family including the dog. There is three separate off leash fenced dog areas with one on the river to cool the dog down. Great walking trails including the Fort to Fort which is pretty long. A good picnic area with bathrooms near the parking lot. Decent spots to view the Fraser River and to the east side of the park is Edgewater campground which everyone staying there gets a waterfront spot on the river. Her is a picture of a campground spot.
Glen D — Google review
Beautiful walking trail. The scenery is tranquil and peaceful.
Christian M — Google review
Very nice park for outdoor family gatherings. There is a huge off leash park for dogs and walking and biking trails.
Elaine G — Google review
Nice scenery. Cozy camping experience. Campground side has only pit toilets whileas the picnic area had flushed toilet and (coin) shower facility. Picnic area parking close at 10pm.
Kyoung C — Google review
Derby Reach Regional Park is a beautiful spot for families, friends, and dog owners. There are multiple off-leash fenced dog areas, including one by the river where pets can cool off. The walking trails are scenic and peaceful, with the Fort to Fort trail offering a longer route for those who enjoy a good stroll. The campground provides a cozy experience, though it only has pit toilets, while the picnic area offers flush toilets and coin-operated showers. Plenty of fresh air, lovely scenery, and space to relax — a great place to unwind.
CHANDRA P — Google review
Derby Reach Regional Park is a peaceful riverside escape with a mix of open fields, forest trails, and heritage sites. The Fort to Fort Trail is a local favourite — flat, scenic, and great for walking or cycling. The Edgewater Bar campground is simple but well-kept, with picnic tables and fire rings. It’s a solid spot for birdwatching and quiet strolls, especially in the early morning. Downsides? It can get buggy near the water in summer, and some areas flood after heavy rain. Limited shade in the open fields means it gets hot fast, so bring water and sunscreen. Still, it’s a relaxing place to unwind without leaving the city too far behind.
Ashkan S — Google review
Thank you to Strong start park side so we knew this place. We went to join them for kick off to spring break, so much fun. Really nice park, nice camp ground by the river. We didn't walk around because we were busy but I saw many trails so will go back to check it out. We went to edge water bar one. So we will definitely go for camping there. Really clean camp ground, really clean washrooms and parking spots, picnic area by the river. Plus the new washrooms are in construction now

This is just a marvel to watch. The place has been preserved and takes to actual historic times. There's a small café that serves excellent summer beverages. We spent around 5 hours, still felt it's not enough to explore the whole place.

Each building is a place bringing back a time in Canada's history in a fun, at times interactive way. Lots to see in every corner. Pull the handle on boxes to be surprised by artifacts. See what Blacksmiths, Traders, Stewards and many others used to do in a time far from the present. Live demonstrations and friendly interpreters make the experience immersive.

Krause Berry Farms & Estate Winery

Farm
Sights & Landmarks
Krause Berry Farms & Estate Winery is a delightful destination that offers an array of experiences for visitors of all ages. Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Langley, this farm and vineyard invites you to indulge in wine tastings while enjoying the beauty of their pick-your-own fields. Known for cultivating some of the juiciest berries in the Lower Mainland, Krause Berry Farms also tempts your taste buds with a delectable vanilla whipped cream cake layered with fresh berries.
We visited Krause Berry Farms on a sunny day, and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect. While we didn’t do the strawberry picking, we came for what they’re just as famous for—the waffles topped with fresh strawberries, and they did not disappoint! The waffles were crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and generously topped with sweet local berries and cream. We enjoyed them outdoors with a gentle breeze and scenic farm views—such a relaxing and feel-good experience. The whole place had a charming countryside vibe, with outdoor seating, families, and a welcoming, festive atmosphere.
Highly recommended for a casual farm visit, even if you’re just there to eat and soak up the sun.

We had such an amazing time at the farm today :) It does get quite busy, especially on Sundays, so I definitely recommend going early. And whatever you do, don’t skip the waffles.. they were absolutely delicious 😁 The farm market was fantastic as well. We picked up some fresh fruit, and everything tasted incredible. The berries we picked ourselves were hands-down the best! Everyone working at the farm was so kind and welcoming. If you’re looking for a fun day out, this place is a must-visit 🥰

This place is absolutely fantastic! I wasn't expecting the fact that you can spend time there doing so many different things... first and obvious thing is berry pick up. Lots and lots of berries to choose from, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries. People grab buckets ona fixed price and they can load them until the berries fit. If you're not familiar, staff is always nice and available to help you with directions. Then there is the market, where you can buy lots of local products, mainly handmade with the same local berries. There is also a place where you can seat and eat, plus the winery with live music inside. The winery is so special... carefully designed and organized in an old ranch-style, with nice displays of wine bottles and other cool furniture. An old guy, Ted, was super nice and friendly, beautifully dressed up and very kind with every guests, helping them to choose the best wine. Absolutely a must go location, ideal for people of all ages, families, couples or friends groups to enjoy a nice afternoon. Suggested to go when it's not too hot as it is obviously a wide open space outdoor when doing the berries pick up. Highly recommended. Thank you!! 😀

I really liked this farm! It was our first time doing a U-pick for strawberries, and we really enjoyed it. The strawberries were so sweet, and it’s easy to pick them since there are plenty even at the end of the day. We also tried the pancakes, wine, and lemonade — everything was delicious. At the market, I bought coffee with strawberry flavor for $8 and 6 ears of corn for $5. The corn was really sweet too! Highly recommend visiting this place with family and friends. 🍓🌽🥞

This was my second year visiting Krause Berry Farms & Estate Winery, and it was just as great as the first! You can easily spend the whole day here, from picking fresh blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries and wandering through the beautiful flower gardens to enjoying a relaxing coffee break. The local wine flight and the corn pizza in is absolutely delicious, especially when followed by their famous waffle for dessert. The live music adds such a lovely atmosphere. Before you leave, don’t miss the charming local shop, we picked up a fresh pie and some unique handmade crafts to take home. A perfect spot for a fun, relaxing, and flavorful day out!
Radman S — Google review
I had a great experience at Krause Berry Farms. I usually come back a few times each summer for berry picking. On Sept 12 the strawberries were still good, though blackberries were low. The berries are always fresh and sweet. I love their custard pie jar and the no-sugar raspberry jam, finished it in two days! The slushies are refreshing, but the hot food is overpriced and a bit disappointing.

We had the most wonderful morning/afternoon at Krause Berry Farm. And the corn pizza and raspberry waffles for lunch were 10 stars. Bought several frozen pizzas to take home, along with pounds of blueberries and strawberries! And of course I bought their beautiful cookbook! We will return to Krause Berry Farm again soon! Thank you for a lovely experience…Michelle Leone❤️

Greater Vancouver Zoo

Outdoor Activities
The Greater Vancouver Zoo, sprawling across 120 acres, is a long-standing establishment that houses a diverse array of wildlife, with approximately 140 species in its care. Many of the animals have been rescued, donated, or orphaned. Visitors can encounter an impressive range of creatures such as lions, flamingos, cheetahs, grizzly bears, and hippos.
A great experience for the whole family! We really enjoyed our visit to the Greater Vancouver Zoo. The animals looked well cared for and had plenty of space, and the walking paths were clean and easy to follow. The highlights for us were the giraffes, lions, and the safari-style enclosures. Renting the golf cart made it even more fun and convenient to explore the entire park. Staff were friendly and helpful, and there were lots of spots for snacks and rest. Highly recommended for a relaxing day surrounded by nature and wildlife!
Negaresh N — Google review
Had a great time at the zoo with friends and family. The food prices at the Oasis Cafe are steep and for what you pay the food is nothing fantastic or memorable. Burgers are anywhere from $16-$18, small fries are $5.75 and large fries are $7.75. It is better to pack your own food that you want and like. The train and the bouncy castles weren't operational either which was disappointing. My little girl was really looking forward to seeing both in action. The animals were great and the grounds staff were busy at work.
Christian M — Google review
First time visiting the Vancouver Zoo, and it was better than I thought! We were able to see lots of animals, and they all looked happy and relaxed. I highly recommend joining some of the spotlight programs, as they were free and educational. The safari cycles rent out very quickly, so if you want to try them, it’s best to rent early. It took us about 3 hours as adults to walk through the entire zoo. The only improvement I would suggest is for the zoo to have more water dispensers inside.
Furu H — Google review
Wonderful afternoon checking out the Zoo. Well maintained with plenty of friendly hard working staff. Hippo, Giraffes, Siberian tigers, Elk, Reindeer, Lions, Grizzlies...and plenty more including a delightful mass of flamingos in full zen modes. And a Jurassic park like area full of animatronic dinosaurs and raptors. Spectacular for the kiddies. Screams of excitement and a little fear filled the air as the Dino's roared and shook all around. Must see for locals and a great place to take visitors. A little pricey but worth it. We are from the lower mainland and decided to buy annual pass so that we can many more times. Check it out. It is a wonderful walk and eye opener to the World beyond our urban lifestyles.

Great Family Day at Greater Vancouver Zoo! We had a wonderful time at the Greater Vancouver Zoo! It was a fun and relaxing day with family — especially the excitement of spotting hidden animals like the red panda and snow leopard. 🐼❄️ The zoo is very family-friendly with plenty of picnic tables and clean washrooms available throughout. It’s a great place to spend quality time with family and kids of all ages. One small suggestion: it would be nice to have more food options available inside the zoo for visitors who don’t bring their own meals. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend visiting at least once! 🌿🦓🐘
Sourav S — Google review
First time in the zoo and we had such a great experience! We followed the schedule to meet sone animals and it was so worthy. My kids loved it! They also have a very nice Dinosaur area! Kids have playground and big bounce castles! There is food, ice cream, and very affordable store to buy souvenirs!
Jhes — Google review
Today we visited the zoo for the first time and I’m really happy with the overall experience. We saw many animals. the most interesting thing I enjoyed to ride the critter cruiser. Zoo was very neat and clean. It was fun 🤩
Riddhi P — Google review
Zoo was fun, worth renting the bicycle or little cars. The weather in this area is extremely unpredictable we visited in July and it was so windy and chilly we had to buy sweaters at the gift shop. I was happy they had little cafe to get food. Not as much animals as I expected but I also understand it costs a lot to maintain and feed many. The back in time exhibit with the dinosaurs was our favorite. For the administration of the zoo ,I see a lot of land space so maybe you guys can team up with some agriculture school to start some gardens to help self sustain or reach out to the Government for some funding. Just some suggestions but I'm sure you're trying the best you can.

Mill Lake Park in Abbotsford is a local favorite, offering a picturesque setting with plenty of activities for visitors. The park features walking trails and boardwalks around the lake, multiple playgrounds, an outdoor pool, and a popular spray park. Additionally, the historic Trethewey House from the 1920s can be found within the park grounds. With a 2.
Probably the main park attraction in Abbotsford. Very open with lots of pretty places to sit. And nice water park for kids. There's an area with big, tall trees that is cool to walk through The lake itself has a bunch of scenic spots There's a side where people can bring and board their boats (kayaks and stuff) and do a little fishing.

Gorgeous urban nature park with a 2.17 km paved pathway around a stunning man made lake complete with sizeable fountain. For bird enthusiasts, various water fowl and marsh birds can be heard and spotted, such as the red winged black bird. You might even spot a painted turtle sunning themselves! There are 3 playground areas, a water park, outdoor pool, picnic areas and baseball diamond. Plenty of open and shaded spots with park benches available, including a small floating dock for fishermen or anyone wanting to enjoy the lake breeze.

This is a great place to hang out with friends and family on a nice sunny day. Me and my husband usually come here for an after dinner walk. We love how relaxed and serene the atmosphere here. Bicycles are allowed here, pets on a leash are allowed except by the playground area. Washrooms are available and picnic tables are all over the place as well as benches. It’s a good 30-45 minute walk if you do the full circle. I like the bridge area the most especially during sunset. Also, I have seen a few men fishing by the dock and I have asked them what fishes are usually caught and they said it’s mostly trouts here. So, if you like to fish you can try it here. A lot of geese all over the place so watch out for land mines! Lol! Parking may be a challenge during peak hours. This place is friendly to all ages, wheelchair and stroller accessible!
Patty L — Google review
The park is beautiful, well maintained and has a lot of nature. It is family and pet friendly. It has public bathrooms. It is a good place to practice many different sports including jogging and running. Also good for a picnic or to enjoy good time outside with family, pets and friends. The only thing preventing it to be 5 stars is that it does not have lights enough to enjoy it when it is dark.
Felipe P — Google review
Fairly nice park with pretty views. Paths are paved. Lots of parks along the loop, with playgrounds, washrooms, benches, and parking. Also a place to fish aswell as a boat ramp. Expect to see lots of ducks, birds and squirrels. Sadly a lot of homeless hanging out and camping in the area. Was approached multiple times while walking the loop which made me a bit uncomfortable as a young woman. Maybe not the best place to walk alone.
Rii N — Google review
EDIT- this should be called Goose Lake, the park is just ripe with goose droppings. They’ve covered the walkways, paths, all the fields. It’s just absolutely disgusting! Other than that I could be beautiful park for humans but the geese have overtaken!!! My dog loves to go for walks around the lake but right now he doesn’t even want to walk the pathways and just directs to the sidewalk outside the park!
Jasmin — Google review
I loved this park, I went with my partner and my 7-month-old baby, we did the complete circuit, we were able to see many animals and plants, and the view of the lake is very beautiful. I recommend it
Nathalia C — Google review
Beautiful park with a 2.5 km looped walking trail around the lake. You can see Mt Baker in the distance and there are benches and picnic tables around the park where you can sit and enjoy the view. There are parking lots scattered in different parts of the park and a big playground for kids next to each lot. Very clean and close to residential neighbourhoods. This is a beautiful park to visit for families, friends, and lovers.

Clayburn Village Store is a charming attraction in Abbotsford, situated at the base of Sumas Mountain. Established in 1905, it was the first company town in British Columbia and offered various amenities to its employees. The village boasts several museums and cultural sites nearby. Visitors often stop by for a break during road trips and are delighted by the store's offerings. The shop provides an array of delicious treats, including homemade sausage rolls and nostalgic candies.
What a truly lovely 😍 & historical business. Staff were so friendly & accommodating. Sooo much variety of 🍬 candy...love the many British options as well as Dutch candy. I enjoyed a delicious Latte and my son had a fantastic frozen yogurt. I appreciate small businesses like this so much having been a small business owner/operator myself.
Sue — Google review
The village store is such a fascinating business to go to. I just wish I knew about it sooner because they have been in business for almost 40 years. They have a great variety of different candy, tea and even baked goods such as scones and pies to serve. They have some unique sweets like Cotton Candy Dr. Pepper, Reese’s Wafer bars, Karameller Swedish Candy and Candy Rock Sticks. They even sell a unique selection of beer; however, you can only have it when you are dining in their store. The interior countenance of the store is very old-fashioned yet appealing. There was an old but working fireplace, these historic industrial coffee makers and a lot of other old knick-knacks on display. The people who worked there were very pleasant and helpful too. I did not take any pictures or videos of the inside of the village store, out of respect for the owners and workers there. I would very much love to pay my patronage to the Clayburn Village Store again soon. For those of you that have not been there yet, go check it out.

The owners Trish and Bryan are kind , caring people who run a special shop . I’m never disappointed with their selection of British food and treats galore. Their home baked specialty pasties etc. are the best , their soups so tasty and made from the best local ingredients …. We’re so lucky to have them here !

A not to be missed experience. I especially enjoyed meeting and talking with Brian one of the store owners. Not only does he have extensive knowledge of the products in the store but he is so passionate about what he does. Walking around the store packed with items which in some cases are only available in this store, is an absolute joy. Products include British chocolates and candies, Chutneys, Jams, sauces etc.

What a spot! This place has everything for the sweet tooth in the family as well as some delicious savory fresh baked goods. The owners are incredibly welcoming and happy to have a chat to get to know you and tell you about the amazing history of this store. Its the true centre piece of Clayburn Village and its an amazing piece of community.

A cozy store with country charm and rare finds. Enjoy a blast from the past with gourmet food and candy. Located in historic Clayburn Village, this store has been serving the community since 1912. You will find a wide selection of gourmet food and candy, from local jams and honey to imported teas and chocolates.

A small shop at the back of a residential house selling body care and facial care products made with essential oils. Good quality, wonderful scent, and reasonable price. Castle Fun Park is an amusement park located in Abbotsford, offering a wide range of family-friendly activities. The castle-like park features both indoor and outdoor facilities, including go-karting, bumper cars, mini golf, batting cages, and a large arcade with over 200 games. Kids can enjoy kiddie rides at the Wonder Farm Kids Zone and try their hand at the laser maze.
It was really fun! Mini golf costs $18 per adult, but it’s worth it—amazing interior design. There are lots of arcade games, ranging from $0.90 to $2.50. We spent around $50 for both of us. Parking is free!
Kateryna S — Google review
We had a great time visiting Castle Fun Park! There are plenty of games to enjoy, and the pricing for each one was quite reasonable. I’d definitely recommend this place for kids—but honestly, it’s just as fun for adults. After all, you’re never too old to be a kid again! We really enjoyed playing some of the shooting games, Racing, Mario Kart, and pinball. "Bumper car" was especially fun.mini golf is a must try. Unfortunately, we missed out on go-karting because we arrived too early—the track opens after 5 PM. Luckily, we still have our Castle Fun Card loaded with credit, so we’re looking forward to going back and trying the go-karts next time!
Meenaloshini K — Google review
A nice arcade in a quiet area near Abbotsford. Go Karts open 5pm. There are plenty of games to play. Some are expensive like Underwater Golf but you can go along the kids even if you are not playing. The golf area is quite dated but nevertheless, kids love it. Laser Room is weird. Sometimes the game lasts 10 seconds. There are many more games upstairs including some real classic arcades like Contra. There is also mini bowling which is a great deal with the amount of turns you get. There is also dodging cars which is fun for the family. Overall, a nice place to spend 2-3 hours with the family.
Leegi B — Google review
Mostly arcade games, most of the machines are pretty old and don’t work as intended. Really wish they could upgrade the facility and improve on the concession snacks. Still this place is a great option for first timers and on rainy days. Staffs who work there are nice though.
Lora H — Google review
Lots of out of order / broken games 10% maybe 20% for the older kids. The batting cages and outside still out of commission. The super young kids area is in good shape 100% functional. Food is well you know. Heat rack menu. Kids love it. Clean and tidy. Fairly busy - it is a rainy Sunday. Otherwise same old place as before.
Mario B — Google review
What can I say, it's Castle Fun Park! Lots of fun! I just wish they were able to have the outdoor mini-golf course restored after the flooding a few years ago.
Brian C — Google review
Kids had fun, games are a reasonable price. Pretty quiet and lots still closed due to the flood in 2021...4 years of construction and all thats open is video games and golf

Bowling is nice; short lanes, affordable, no line ups. Bumper cars area is very small, we were playing in 3 people and it looked crowded. Arcade has tons of games!

Cascade Falls, located in Mission, British Columbia, is a popular destination for locals looking to escape the city. The easy 0.75km hike takes about 30 minutes roundtrip and leads to the stunning waterfall. The area features a swimming hole near Golden Ears Provincial Park, accessible through a beautiful forest trail on the Lower Falls Trail near Maple Ridge.
The view here is absolutely stunning! It's the perfect spot to relax and take in the scenery. However, it was a bit slippery, so be cautious while walking around. There's a nice picnic spot available, and I really appreciated the free parking. Unlike other places, it wasn’t crowded at all, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Definitely worth a visit!

There is 350m elevation to get to the suspension bridge but nice views from there. Suspension bridge is exciting and offers nice place to take photographs. Slightly challenging for those who’ve leg injury or mobility issues. Lots of parking but can get full during summer.

Cascade Falls is a must-visit spot, perfect for a quick and refreshing getaway. Located just a short distance away, I never imagined I could reach such a stunning waterfall so easily. The walk to the falls is gentle and accessible for everyone, making it an ideal destination for all ages.

A beautiful oasis just 1-2 hours outside of Vancouver! Cascade Falls is absolutely stunning, and the short hike to the suspension bridge is both fun and scenic. It’s a great spot to cool off on a hot day, with crystal-clear pools perfect for swimming and refreshing cool water. Just a heads-up—make sure to bring bug spray, especially if you’re planning to stay later in the day. Enjoy!

Loved this spot! A very short toddler friendly hike up to the waterfall. There is a bit of an incline but very manageable for kids 2+, just hold their hands. There are some stairs along the way as well but doesn't take more than 15 mins if you're walking slowly. You can take some great pictures at the waterfall and the bridge. At the base, if you go right, there are a couple of sheltered tables for a picnic and then in the same area you can get right into the water flowing from the waterfall.

This waterfalls is always a refreshing sight. I saw it on Fall and Summer time. The picnic area is tiny but the river below is a lovely spot to go for a quick dip. The restroom could get a little bit of cleaning.

Nestled in the picturesque Chilliwack area, Cultus Lake Waterpark is a must-visit destination for families seeking fun and adventure on a hot summer day. This vibrant water park boasts an impressive array of 25 slides and attractions that cater to all ages. Younger visitors can delight in the Kiddie Castle, family spray park, and turtle pool, while thrill-seekers can conquer heart-pounding rides like the Rattler and Tubular Terror.
Haven't been here since I was 11 years old. Great to visit with my 11 year old son and his best friend. Slides are super fun! It's great that you can bring your own tent and outside food from home. The ice cream was insane! The staff were super friendly and helpful and the line ups were manageable. The best part? Absolutely fantastic value! Get the water park and adventure park pass for less than $50 each. All day fun for cheap! We will return for sure. We went on a Thursday so it wasn't as busy. Love it!

I really enjoyed the place — the park is fantastic! It’s a great space for both adults and children to spend time, relax, enjoy the fresh air, and unwind. That said, there were a couple of things that slightly took away from the overall experience. First, the staff. I wish they were more friendly and engaged. It was rare to see anyone smile or show interest. It often felt like the younger staff members saw themselves as being “in charge” and behaved in a somewhat condescending or superior way. That kind of attitude isn’t very welcoming and doesn’t encourage return visits. If the staff were more open and positive in their interactions, I would happily give this place five stars. Secondly, the food at the food court was underwhelming. Some of the vegetables looked like they had wilted long before they made it to my plate. The tomatoes, for example, were completely inedible — I couldn’t even manage to eat them. On a positive note, though, the poutine was delicious — so thank you for that!

A excellent Waterpark located just a hour across the Canadian boarder from Washington State. The Staff was outstanding, very helpful and and friendly. A great variety of water slides. Lots of splash areas for the young ones. The area was so clean. There is plenty of parking ( They do charge a fee) really enjoyed everything they offered

Fun-Filled Family Day at Cultus Lake Waterpark! We visited Cultus Lake Waterpark last Saturday with the whole family, and it was an absolute blast! The kids (and adults!) had an unforgettable time. The park offers a fantastic variety of rides suitable for both children and adults, ensuring everyone finds something to enjoy. The highlight of our day was the colossal canyon - grabbing a four-person tube and navigating the twists and turns was thrilling and had us all laughing like crazy! There are plenty of picnic table areas throughout the park, perfect for setting up a home base to relax and eat. We also loved discovering the hot tubs scattered around—see if you can find them all for a relaxing break between rides! A few things to note: There’s a bag check at the entrance, and open bottles will be emptied, so plan accordingly. Also, once you enter, there’s no re-entry, so make sure to bring all your essentials with you. Overall, Cultus Lake Waterpark is a fantastic spot for a family outing. With exciting rides, great amenities, and plenty of fun, we can’t wait to return!
Paul D — Google review
Cultus Lake Waterpark is considered as one of the best in British Columbia. It's only a couple of hours away from Downtown Vancouver or about an hour away from Surrey. The drive to this place is wonderful. The rides are amazing and for most rides you don't need to be a swimmer. There are lifeguards watching you from everywhere so you're pretty safe. Beware: some rides do need you to be an expert swimmer. Please buy your tickets in advance as on weekends they are mostly sold out. You can carry your tents, umbrellas, mats, wagons full of food and drinks, etc. They have a ground which can be used for having a picnic. You can get lockers there to store valuable belongings. As for parking, you get two options - free parking at the back of the park (unsupervised), and paid parking ($10 for the day) in front of the park. You can check their website for all the good things you get. It's well written over there. A must go with friends or with family.
Ash H — Google review
The park has a great, fun, and family-friendly atmosphere. Lots of slides and activities for kids, and the whole place is well-maintained. The staff are friendly and make you feel safe. ✅ Pros: • A wide variety of slides for all ages • Clean, family-oriented environment • Helpful and polite staff ❌ Main downside: They don’t limit ticket sales, so it gets overcrowded. We had to spend most of our day standing in long lines. It would be much better if they controlled the number of visitors.
Mehdi R — Google review
Fantastic park! Layout makes everything accessible. Also a ton of fun slides/rides for teens and adults. Since it was a bit cloudy, it wasn't as busy as I feel it would be if it was sunny. We were able to get a covered table and that made a different compared to being on the grass (as we didn't prepare for that). Staff was friendly and helpful. I honestly enjoyed all the slides and raft rides. Price was $40 CAD (I'm from California) and I felt that was about right. Food is always pricey, but there is an option to bring in sealed food. I did buy "Valley of fries" which was like $12. Also there is a coffee/expresso/frappe' bar too. Valley of Fear, Speed Slide and Freefall were awesome. Again, honestly impressed with all the slides. And if it is a bit cold at 1st, there are hot tubs dotted throughout the park! My kids enjoyed immensely.
Roger A — Google review
Such an amazing waterpark!! The best I’ve been to in BC. It’s got a whole bunch of slides ranging from easy to difficult, and ones for all ages. The lineups aren’t terrible, they seem to cap attendance at the right number to keep everything flowing smoothly in the park. There is food available and it’s not too expensive. I recommend the fish and chips, it is excellent! Don’t fear if it’s raining, you will still have a blast at the waterpark because the lines will be shorter, and there are hot tubs everywhere. I’ve been here on a rainy day before and it was one of my favourite days in the park. You can’t beat a sunny day though, even with the longer lines! Highly recommend checking out this waterpark, you will not be disappointed!

Nooksack Falls

Waterfall
Nature & Parks
Spectacular falls to see while heading to or from Mt Baker. About 90 feet tall, it plunges over a sharp rocky, and mossy, fern covered edge into a narrow shadowy hole, joining another tumbling water way just from the east. It is fantastic! Easy access, plenty of parking, with short but not flat trails to the viewing area. Beautiful trees and foliage. There is signage telling the history of the falls and the water works that once existed there. It is extremely steep, slippery, and potentially dangerous on the edge of falls, so the viewing area is edged by a chain-link for safety, but it does not block or diminish the view at all. You can also view the tumbling waters and pool at the top of the falls, from a bridge the crosses just above it. There is parking on both sides of the bridge, and trails heading off up the surrounding mountain, through the shady, mossy , and pine needle strewn under growth. A very magical place, indeed, and very worth a visit. Highly recommend!

This is now by far my favorite Washington waterfall. Amazing! The amount of water coming down and another river joining it is incredible to watch. The drive is long from Olympia, but worth it at least once. There are snakes in the area, but we didn't see any. All snakes west of the cascades are non- venomous. In Washington state, the only venomous snake is the Western Rattlesnake, also known as the Northern Pacific Rattlesnake. It is primarily found in the eastern part of the state, east of the Cascade Mountains. There's plenty of parking of everyone parks next to each other.

You drive down a windy gravel road to an open gravel parking lot. The walk down is only like a minute from the parking lot. The falls is beautiful and fenced in from the cliff. No restrooms available.

SPECTACULAR!!! I first went to Racehorse falls which isn't too far away and I thought it was my favorite Until I saw Nooksack....WOW I first climbed under the bridge and down some big rocks which put me on Top of the falls which was an Amazing perspective. If it had been wet the rocks would have been dangerous and slippery but luckily I was there on a dry day. Just around the corner you can see the falls falling. So very beautiful. And I also liked that there was no hiking needed. Highly recommend these falls.
Connie C — Google review
Easy to get to and pretty but the very tall fencing takes away from the glory of it all. I understand it's necessary for safety purposes but it does take away from the beauty.
Denycia H — Google review
This is my favorite spot to escape from reality and enjoy nature, I've also siphoned gallons of water from the falls and its the most refreshing water I've ever had.

Baker Lake is a large and picturesque lake surrounded by forests and mountains, offering opportunities for fishing, boating, and swimming in its warm glacier-fed waters. The area features beautiful hiking trails with old-growth cedar trees and scenic views of Mt. Baker. Visitors can enjoy camping at developed sites or explore the rugged wilderness on the other side of the lake.
What a fun drive and a great place to go with the family. Whether camping, picnicking, or just enjoying the view, Baker Lake has been a family favorite of ours since the mid sixties. Growing up in the PNW affords many opportunities to visit some beautiful places, but Baker holds a special place in our hearts. Best time to go is early on a Saturday or Sunday before the crowds arrive.

Beautiful hike in the woods at Baker Lake South Trail on the way to the Anderson Point Campground on July 11, 2017. It was a short hikes approx 4 Miles round trip up and and down the hills with beautiful some old growths of cedar trees. I love the boardwalks in some parts of the trail. The little bridge to cross the creek 10 minutes before the campground is damaged or washed off (hopeful it's fixed by now). It was difficult to access to the other side however we saw two hikers made it across on their hands and knees with their huge packs.

Really scenic lake. Quite a drive to get to but that’s the case for most beautiful views. Mt. Baker is spectacular and we paddled right up to a waterfall and a raging tributary. Nice, free facilities at the pse boat launch.

For beginners seeking instruction, the ski area provides excellent facilities, including a beginner chair lift and bunny slopes ideal for practicing new skills at a comfortable pace.
I’ve been skiing at Mt. Baker for years, and it never disappoints. The terrain is fantastic, and the views from the top of the lifts are absolutely breathtaking. I would literally come here only for the views!! Mt Shuksan and Mt Baker are so picturesque! The lodge food is solid too—perfect for warming up between runs. A favorite winter spot! They have rentals at the lodge; also parking is always available. We prefer to come here for two days of skiing, as it’s a far drive from Seattle.

The view is underrated during Summer for the ski area and can’t justify the beauty in Winter season, but it is worth a visit. Most parts of the roads uphill are winery, so it requires good driving skills. Chains are needed for Winter.

Chilliwack River Provincial Park is a serene and less crowded destination, just a 10-minute drive east from the traffic circle. The park is home to an old channel of the Chilliwack River, serving as a spawning ground for salmon and trout. While some parts of the walking trail along the river were affected by the 2021 flood, it still offers great opportunities for hiking and fishing.
Absolutely love this place. So many places along side the river to just put up a tent and camp. Love it

Chipmunk Creek ATV riding was great but alot of heights involved and not particularly wide paths. But there are several at the base that are at ground level and the river/rapids stretch a great length next to the trails and there is even a small spot where it 'looks like' u could take your machine across the creek...we will be testing that out the next time we go back! Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Park, located east of Chilliwack in the Fraser Valley Region, is a 32-hectare park known for its stunning waterfall. The short and easy hike from the parking lot leads to a viewing platform where visitors can admire the magical 60-meter waterfall that resembles a veil. The trail takes less than 15 minutes to walk but can be steep and slippery in some areas.
I visited Bridal Falls on New Year's Day to start the year with some peace and quiet, and it was the perfect choice. I was looking for a calm place to enjoy nature, and this spot gave me exactly what I needed. The drive there was beautiful. Even before I reached the falls, I felt a sense of calm as I took in the peaceful surroundings. When I arrived, Bridal Falls was as stunning as I hoped. The water was flowing strongly, falling down in a powerful display of nature’s beauty. Even though it was winter, the falls were still impressive. The cold, fresh air mixed with the sound of the water and the wind through the trees created a peaceful, almost calming atmosphere. I spent a lot of time just standing there, enjoying the moment and the quiet beauty around me. What I loved most about the place was how it helped me slow down and relax. With so much going on in everyday life, it's easy to forget how important it is to take a break and connect with nature. Bridal Falls was the perfect place to reflect and recharge for the year ahead. Overall, the experience was refreshing and peaceful, and I left feeling calm and ready for the year. I highly recommend Bridal Falls to anyone looking for a quiet place to escape or simply enjoy the beauty of nature. It’s a great spot for reflection, a hike, or just taking in the surroundings. It was a great way to start the year with a positive, relaxed mindset.

bridal Falls comes up in things to see in the area and we have noticed it used in some Canadian filmed shows so decided to explore. We went on a misty morning on a Wednesday in December thinking we’d be the only tourist types going in the rain but there were small groups of people coming and going. There really isn’t anywhere to park but a road edge and it is a fairly steep hike for 15 minutes up to the falls. Very scenic area and a beautiful falls.
Laurie M — Google review
Went there in the morning for a short walk during weekend with friends. Better be there early on weekends to get parking spot. Trails available and going up to the right you will able to see the amazing Bridal Veil Falls. Their Picnic area, tables and pit washrooms are better than Shannon Falls. Although these parks have their own must see great views. Dog friendly on leash park and trail but didn’t see any playground for children.
P ( — Google review
Beautiful waterfalls conveniently near highway 1. The short hike is worth it. But i hope they place more direction signs. It may be a short trail, but we still got a bit lost as there were 2 intertwined trails. Parking can be full, so a little bit of patience is needed even on a not so busy day.
Nowell A — Google review
Are you getting sleepy on a long commute? If yes, then here is a quick little hike to get the blood flowing and wake you up. Trail will take you about 15 minutes hike to the top, and the waterfall waters are good for a quick cold shower (if you choose to ignore the signs and hike the rest of the way up). It is worth a stop 100%
Jason L — Google review
The trails and paths are extremely well maintained and clearly marked. The viewing area at the waterfall has a taped off area to prevent people from climbing up to the falls, but someone cut the tape. Beautiful picnic spots near the parking area with plenty of restrooms close by. The picnic tables are right next to a small stream which is incredibly peaceful to listen to. I would imagine the place gets very busy in the sunny months though. This was an amazing morning trip from Abbotsford.
Ronel A — Google review
Wonderful place for a short (uphill) hike to the falls. There are two trails up -- one is steeper and shorter. We took that one up and then the longer, less steep one back (has some stairs). Other trails as well for longer hikes.
Susan C — Google review
the walk is steep in some places, but not incredibly difficult if you have no physical barriers. Some slopes are about 30*+ and you feel it. The view is worth it. There are two paths up, the short one from the parking lot has the steepest slopes. The other one has some stairs to help.

Nestled in the charming town of Harrison Hot Springs, the Harrison Hot Springs Mineral Pool is a delightful destination for families and visitors of all ages. This public pool, distinct from the hotel and resort pools, offers a unique opportunity to experience natural mineral springs that have attracted guests for over a century. The water is sourced directly from one of the local springs and maintained at a soothing temperature of 38 degrees Celsius (100 degrees Fahrenheit), making it an ideal spot to unwind, especially during chilly winter months.
Lovely place with a charming vibe. Public pool with the mineral water is reasonably cheap, but spaces may be limited. On the shore is the play ground, washroom and place for the barbecue!

It was a little basic and I feel as a tourist it was not a memorable experience. My suggestion is to make it different and memorable. Maybe plastic plants, Buddhist statues, affirmation messages, sounds of nature and things like that. Offer meditation. You might even charge more for a better healing experience. I think this place has the potential to be amazing given its location across from the beach.
Chris P — Google review
It's such an old mineral swimming pool I do not like it. My kids didn't have fun. It doesn't have an outdoor swimming pool, but it is an expansive pool.
Pouyan M — Google review
Nice hot mineral pool shallow to 4 ft deep. With cement sitting places inside the pool under water. Sitting on it puts you up to the neck. Recommended pool time 15 minutes. Out of the pool lots of beach type chairs. It wasn't too crowded midweek. Lots of metered parking outside. One can rent lockers and towell. Need to take a shower before going into the pool and after. The water was hot but not too hot.
Abdul A — Google review
Although the pool felt awesome after our long drive -I felt it was very run down. The hand blower did not work in bathroom. The Matt's in change rooms were ripped. One of the two toilets was plugged and the place was dirty, no bathing suit spinner or plug to dry your hair. Radium and Ainsworth were beautiful outdoor springs and charged 2.00 more. We were through here in 9 years ago and remember the beautiful pools outside now it's not open to the public very sad!

2025-Nov-15, the cashier boy seem doesn't like his job or people (impolite). Hope you smile more when you do customer service. Pool is not crowded, clean. A lot of locker and changing room. There is a big window facing the lake.

A bit outdated. But overall staff are okay and the pool water is comfortable and warming-hot. Worth a visit. Make sure to call in before you drive over though to make sure they are open. Parking is free 5 minutes walk away before the visitor Centre, or paid parking within 1 minute walk away. Entry is CA$16 per person general ticket, all tax & fees inclusive.

I took my granson son twice at the posted times it said on the web site , it was Not Open..Several other people , tourists were there outside also disapointed it wasnt open. When I eventualy got in and asked the life guard why it was closed he said there was a shortage of life guards for The Publc Mineral Pool ? third time lucky ? I followed the times posted on the pool doors after the second attempt failed. I have been going to the pool over the years and For a World Class Destination , the Public Mineral Pool has gone down hill big time . The pool tiles need a good clean as do the pool water gutters and a coat of paint and wood stain would be a good idea also .New curtains in the changing rooms to brighten it up. Very disapointing to see a World Class Destination used by people from all over the world that are not staying at the Hotel neglected like this . :(

Hicks Lake, situated within Sasquatch Provincial Park just north of Harrison Hot Springs, is a family-friendly destination offering various water activities such as motor boating, canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. The campground provides basic amenities like running water for boiling and pit toilets. Despite limited privacy due to tree foliage and occasional generator noise, the serene environment offers stunning mountain views and clear lake waters.
Great campsites / day use area with plenty of parking, walking trails, and even a boat launch. (Maximum 7.5kw 10HP motor allowed) The campsites are nestled along trees. There are trailer and tenting spots available, water taps to fill up with fresh water, along with pit toilets, and plenty of garbage / recycling bins around. The campsites themselves can range in size from small to big, with some sites having lake views. The gravel road can be a bit rough for towing a trailer in, but slow and steady, it's absolutely doable! The beaver pond trail adjacent to the campsite is about a 20-minute round trip and offers cool scenery, boardwalks, and some pretty interesting information signs about the local wildlife. Would recommend checking this place out if you haven't yet!

It is overall a great campsite, our site was spacious enough (some sites are too crowded/near each other) and well maintened. Not sure year round but there were a bit of bees. The water is clear and with some fish. The forest logging roads on the way is a beginners level and not much rocks but plenty of potholes. Easy camp within 2hrs from the lower mainland. Please be diligent in researching and booking campsites via the BC parks website.

INCREDIBLE, BEAUTIFUL hike. I do recommend being prepared. If you go early, there will be a lot of spider webs on the path. You need a stick. We didn't see a another human the entire hike. Very nice walk, easy difficulty. We saw the bear poop and knew he was around. We only had one can of Bubbly with us. We were city slickers not prepared at all. The threat of the bear is real.

Definitely enjoyed the campground, very clean. The park Rangers, we're constantly driving around, making sure that all the garbage cans recycling cans were all clean and emptied. Outhouses were clean. It's nice. Sandy beach area with lots of picnic tables. Make sure you bring extra tarps. In case it gets windy, so you can make a wind shelter. To block the wind

Multiple bathrooms pick Nick tables and swimming areas. Great trails to walk and explore. Lots of free parking and wheelchair accessible. There is camping available as well. Great Lake to take the family to. Sun and shade areas. Lots of geese to enjoy but with that comes a lot of geese poop. The geese poop is the only downfall to this lake

Absolutely stunning🌟!! Beautiful mix of nature and history. It’s short walk from the parking lot (5mins). We visited over the weekend and it was pretty busy, parking gets full pretty fast but there’s plenty of parking alongside the road you can use, if you don’t mind walking a few extra meters!! Tunnels are extraordinary. Walk alongside the canyon, with rushing water - its just beautiful😍 Definitely check them out while they are still Open!!

Beautiful place. Wonderful nature with peaceful sound of the clear water. We could enter three tunnels, or actually 2,5; Halfway the last tunnel was a wall built, with a note with the message repairs are needed on the tunnels so we couldn't go further. Despite it was very worth the (15-20 minute?) stop. It was a very little walk of approximately 5 minutes. (Would have been possible/ accessible with wheelchair I guess.)
Desiree M — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous, it was amazing how the tunnels turn around to fabulous views. It's a nice walk towards the entrance and get dark, better to have some form touch or mobile flash would do. The bridges are quite the catch with the view. There are more tunnels and could walk down the way. Definitely a place to visit!

Made a pit stop here on route from Vancouver to Sun Peaks and I’m so glad that we did. The tunnels are incredible. I’ve never seen anything quite like it before. The views are amazing. I highly recommend visiting this place from some unique sights and amazing pictures.

The nature here is absolutely beautiful, and it’s a very interesting historical place. This is a great destination for anyone who loves the rich history of our province. I just have a couple of small suggestions: 1. On weekends, it’s really difficult to find parking — there clearly aren’t enough spots, and there are a lot of tourists. 2. There isn’t much historical information available on-site, so I often had to use Google Search to learn more about the place. Other than that, it’s definitely worth visiting!
Aleks Z — Google review
Finally revisited the Othello tunnels since their full re-opening, the restoration crews did a great job. It may only be a short portion of the historic kettle valley railway, but it's beautiful, the tunnels are a little spooky, and everything feels very safe. Don't forget your flashlight, or the flashlight on your phone.
Andrew M — Google review
Visiting this place is like a small lottery — sometimes you get to see it, sometimes you don’t. Very unexpectedly. Our group tried twice. The second time we even called ahead, and they confirmed the Tunnels were open. We drove more than 150 km — only to find them closed. Why? For how long? Nobody could answer. I hope you’ll be luckier. From the parking lot, it’s just a 12-minute walk along a wide, flat road, comfortable even for seniors and children. On the bright side, the road to this location is very picturesque, which helps soften the disappointment. And by the way, you can also visit the famous Bridal Falls, just 42 km away.

Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park is a beautiful natural area that features historic railway tunnels, scenic views of the canyon and river, and unique rock formations. The tunnels offer an opportunity to experience the area's fascinating past, but visitors should be aware of potential hazards such as loose gravel and areas with limited visibility. Despite these challenges, the park is accessible for all ages and makes for a great family outing.
This is a historic and distinctive landmark that offers a lot of character and charm. The path leading to it is quite flat and easy to walk, making it accessible for everyone. However, I did notice that part of the area is currently undergoing maintenance, so only the front cave is open for exploration at the moment. Despite this minor setback, it’s still a destination worth visiting, as the scenery and the unique features of the landmark make it a memorable experience.

Very impressive tunnels, and also a wonderful story behind them. Well worth the almost 2 hour drive from Vancouver. Went there on Civic Holiday (Aug. 1) 2016 with my family, everyone enjoyed the trip. We arrived around 7:30-8:00 PM, so there were few people and the area was quite tranquil. I suggest going quite early or quite late in the day to avoid the large crowds. The picture was taken from the inside of a tunnel, I forgot which one. Edit: The tunnels have reopened after the floods in 2021 on August 19 2024, I went again on August 25 2024 and the tunnels are open to halfway into the second tunnel. You can see workers working on the rest of the tunnels beyond the fence.

Loved the walk-through tunnels and the surrounding area. A beautiful day made the views that much more spectacular. Some areas in the tunnel get dark, others have water dripping down and loose gravel so you shouldn't try to cycle thru. Take time to learn about the amazing history of this place. Definitely coming back with the family as it is a pretty flat walk not too long at all. Would highly recommend it for all ages, you need to see it at least once.

Great park showcasing the railroad history in British Columbia. Really cool tunnels to walk through. Bring a flashlight to ensure you can see where your walking as the ground is a little uneven in the tunnels. Very cool views of the river and canyon. Very short walk from the parking lot. Definitely worth a visit. Can get very busy on a hot summer day though.

Was so beautiful and easy to get to the tunnels , something about mother nature that always relaxes me , the only things is there is alot of construction on the roads right now and really bumpy so take it slow .

While planning for my road trip to Kamloops, I wanted to to stop by a few places on the way, this is one of the recommended place while on road trip to Kamloops. I was travelling over the weekend and I reached there around noon time. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful and they guide and answer your questions. I couldn’t explore the house as it was under renovation and as a result I got a cheap pas of $5 ad opposed to $12 regular pass. I went inside to look around, it’s fairly a small site with a house, some tents and an old church. There’s a place for gold panning as well if you like to do that.

This is a wonderful place to visit if you’re interested in history and want to get a sense of what life was like during the Gold Rush era. The Yale Historic Site is well preserved, with informative displays, artifacts, and friendly staff who are happy to answer questions. Walking around the buildings gives you a feeling of stepping back in time, and the museum itself is small but filled with interesting stories. The site is not huge, so you can easily explore it in an hour or so, which makes it a nice stop along the way if you’re traveling through the Fraser Canyon. I especially enjoyed the church and the original homes, as they give you a very authentic vibe.

Great for a quick stop and learn on your way. Free but donations are welcome, since they are a non-profit organization.

Not worth the money unfortunately. We arrived in the entrance, and it was 25$ for a family. We had hoped it would be by donation & we could just do a short walk around. There didn’t seem to be much to do, the staff didn’t give us any info or encourage us to come in, and there weren’t any other people there. We have been to many other small local museums similar, and they were always free or a small donation. We saw the church from the street, and that was enough. There are bathrooms and a small parking lot if you need a rest stop.

Rest area and a site of a mountain slide triggered by an earthquake. There is a beautiful memorial to the victims of the slide, buried in their cars many meters under the present Highway 3. This site has toilets but no running water.

Great rest area. A lot of room can even stay overnight with self contained RV. There are toilets as well as EV charging station and a plaque that explains the history. Unfortunately, people do not put their garbage in the garbage bins so there are some areas that it is a bit of a mess

Last stop on my trip through the Kootenays! Didn't know there was an EV station here. But there are pit toilets! The info on the hope slide is very sobering. The power of nature unleashing itself is just incredible sometimes. There was a lake here????

Unexpected discovery during our roadtrip to Osoyoos this year. We stopped to get some leg rest and found this interesting historical spot. Stop by and visit this place, read about historical events happened here in 1960s. There is parking with EV charging stations, washrooms, and picknick tables with a killer view.

Not much to say here, its a big memorial of a tragic slide and also a marker for a Canadian Air Force plane crash. Thank you to all who serve.

Fascinating piece of Canadian history I knew nothing about until I went for a motorcycle ride and stopped at this place. When you actually see the volume of rock that moved with your own eyes, it is quite humbling. A single rock slide reshaped an entire valley, took out a lake and killed 4 people. Don't fight mother nature is a valid saying; she will win every battle.

Witness breathtaking mountain scenery and explore the site of one of Canada’s largest landslides. Learn about the 1965 disaster through on-site displays and enjoy a powerful reminder of nature’s strength.
