Absolutely stunning, clean and clear water. Breathtaking. Made our doggo very happy as it made for great swimming. Went back a few days in a row!

Gorgeous clear lake, great for boating. There are barely any boats in the water. The water temperature is not too cold, great place to escape the heat on a warm summer day. Watch out for the jellyfish, as there are very many in some places.

Highland Village Museum, located on the shores of Bras D'Or Lake in Iona, is a living history museum that brings the Gaelic past of Cape Breton to life. The re-created Gaelic settlement features 11 historic buildings where costumed actors demonstrate various aspects of Scottish family life, including farming, cooking, and crafts like spinning and weaving.
What a fabulous find! This outdoor museum walks you through life in Scotland as the Gaels prepare to leave for Nova Scotia, then through early settlement and through the years until now. The people in costume and character were wonderful especially those speaking in Gaelic. It is a lovely way to spend a few hours in a beautiful part of Cape Breton
Glynis C — Google review
I had a peaceful and unforgettable experience! Highland Village Museum is like walking through history. Each building tells a story, and the costumed guides make Gaelic culture come alive. The views over Bras d’Or Lake are stunning, and the atmosphere is calm and inspiring. A must-visit if you’re exploring Cape Breton or love heritage and nature combined.
Amritpal S — Google review
Their website describes themselves as "A living history museum and folklife centre that celebrates the story, language and living culture of Nova Scotia Gaels." It was surprisingly good. And not necessarily in a "bran cereal" kind of way. The grounds had 12 buildings, in addition to the visitor center, and each told part of the story of the Gaels' migration from the Highlands of Scotland to the Highlands of Nova Scotia. Several of them were attended by volunteer actors who described what life was like in the time period being represented, from the 1770's to the 1920's. Pretty cool.
Scott H — Google review
What a hidden gem! We were visiting the maritimes with the intention to hike Cape Breton but the trail closures (due to fire risk) started a couple of days before we arrived so we had to change our plans. We spotted this museum on google maps and decided to visit. It was amazing. The actors, especially the lovely lady who was in the first stone house, made us feel like we traveled back in time and we learned a lot from her. Don’t just breeze through the museum; ask questions and be immersed! Aside from the history, the views were phenomenal.
Andrea L — Google review
Very boring, very strenuous to climb the hills but coming down the gravel is very loose and dangerous. Do not go if any problems with easy exertion or ambulation. Definitely not handicapped accessible.
Jeane C — Google review
Absolutely outstanding! The dwellings from each highlighted time period, and the costumed actors interpreting that time and answering questions, were fascinating. For us the highlight was a ceilidh (visit), with fiddling, step dancing, story telling, and rich explantations of each. If you visit only one place in Cape Breton, this should be it!
Phil C — Google review
Was looking for place to visit in the area to get a hike in and learn some history. My family and I had a great time travelling through the history of the peoples from Scotland and how they settled the area. There was a beautiful view of the Bras D’Or lake in the background to make it scenic as well. The staff was friendly and we even got to grab a quick lesson in Gaelic!

Cape Breton Sailing Charters offers a variety of overnight sailing experiences on the Bras d'Or Lake and Atlantic Ocean. Captain Greg and First Mate Moose provide top-notch experiences, catering to both experienced sailors and beginners. They offer informative and laid-back journeys, sharing their knowledge of the local area while allowing guests to take the helm and learn at their own pace.
Beautiful day, great experience, lovely opportunity to learn more about sailing in gorgeous Cape Breton. Captain Greg and 1st Mate Moose were wonderful teachers and guides/representatives of the area.
Kari M — Google review
This was such an awesome experience. We learned so much about sailing and about the history of the area. The boat is safe and beautiful. Greg is a very experienced captain who takes the time to explain how everything works. This is a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it to anyone.
Rob S — Google review
Sailing No Rush with Captain Greg and Moose around St. Peters was one of the highlights of our trip. They taught us the basics of sailing in a way that felt easy and fun, and shared with us stories along the way, from old-school graphic design to Acadian history. Greg was our first sailing captain, and he’s the one we’ll always remember. We even left with a new lesson: don’t be greedy with the wind. We walked away a little wiser and maybe a little in love with sailing. Hopefully, we’ll cross paths again on the open ocean someday. We would recommend 100% taking the private charter for at-least half a day. Cheers, Farah and Georgine
Farah H — Google review
What a great time!!! I enjoyed myself so much out on the Bras D'Or Lakes with Captain Greg and Moose, salt of the earth guys! I loved that they encouraged us to take a go at the helm, which was pretty cool! The fresh air aboard the No Rush was quite invigorating. Thanks for having us, we would do it again in a heartbeat.
Jessika B — Google review
Greg and Moose provided a very enjoyable experience for us novice sailors. Greg is very knowledgeable and experience at the helm. We all had a chance to be at the helm on a day with high winds.
Richard N — Google review
Greg is a wonderful host. So knowledgeable of the lake, Cape Breton, and Nova Scotia history. We had a lovely sail. My husband got to sail the entire 6 hours which was a real treat for him. Highly recommended.

This organic, on-farm microbrewery offers an array of beers, ales, and hard seltzers to tantalize your taste buds. Wonderful spot! So many beer choices! Two separate bars with choices for everyone! We didn’t eat today at the food truck but it smelled amazing. Last time we enjoyed their burger and fries and they were great! There was live music, lots of happy people, dogs, kids enjoying a beautiful NS end of summer day! Lots of open spaces and picnic tables, seating and an indoor space as well! Lawn games for kids and adults to indulge in. The staff is always amazing!

Big Spruce brewing is a member of harvest hosts. This brewery and the experience you have there are outstanding. The beers are delicious and the food truck is almost gourmet. Never had deep-fried pepperonis with these were stellar as were the smash burgers. The hospitality was unrivaledover any other brewery. We stopped at. Simply a fantastic experience.
Vic Z — Google review
Big Spruce Brewing is a mandatory stop for anyone traveling on Cape Breton Island, offering far more than just exceptional beer. This certified organic, on-farm brewery is perfectly situated in Nyanza, providing stunning views of the Bras d'Or Lake—a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxed and welcoming; it’s kid- and dog-friendly, making it a great place to spend an entire afternoon. You can grab a flight or a pint of their delicious brews, which range from their flagship Kitchen Party Pale Ale to the rich Cereal Killer Oatmeal Stout, and settle in on the sprawling outdoor patio. Their commitment to organic farming and high-quality ingredients truly shines through in every glass. Add to this the delicious food truck (Rose's Smash Burgers) and occasional live music, and you have a destination that perfectly captures the spirit of the East Coast. Whether you’re stocking up on growlers or just taking a break from the road, Big Spruce is a genuine Cape Breton highlight

Amazing spot! The "What Ales Us?" Is the best HazyIPA I've had. We were lucky to be there when they had live music. The food truck offers some very tasty options. Lovely views too.

What an excellent brewery with exceptional beers and a phenomenal location - was way beyond what I was expecting!!! If you are anywhere close by, make sure to venture by….

We just took delivery of our NA beers order! If you have knocked off alcoholic beer recently; temporarily; or like us for several years now we highly recommend Big Spruce NA Kitchen Party Organic Pale Ale and NA Cereal Thriller Organic Oatmeal Stout. We have enjoyed NA beer in almost every province in Canada and state in the US and Big Spruce tops the list consistently. Bonus the delivery driver was exceptional! We are definitely ordering again!

Margaree Salmon Museum

Mentioned on

Specialty Museums
Nestled in the heart of Cape Breton Island, the Margaree Salmon Museum is a hidden gem that beautifully captures the essence of local fishing culture and history. Established in a historic building, this museum offers an engaging glimpse into the world of salmon fishing, showcasing an impressive array of lures and equipment that highlight its significance to regional identity. Visitors often stumble upon this charming spot while exploring nearby attractions like the Dancing Goat café.
We were passing through the area as part of our Cabot Trail adventure and saw this on the map near the Dancing Goat where we got lunch so decided to check it out. We don’t fish but still found the museum quite informative and interesting. We had no idea how many variations of lures existed or the breadth of equipment used in the sport. It was fun to learn about something that is part of the regional identity. We tried to go see salmon swimming up the river after visiting the museum but had no luck. Definitely recommend checking out the museum!
Karl P — Google review
Incredible little place Absolutely packed with interesting relics It seems like every person who has ever caught a fish on the Margaree has donated something. The curator clearly cares a lot for the collection.
Alex G — Google review
A local treasure trove of stories, artifacts and natural history. Whether you care about the history, nature or the art of salmon fishing, there is something to be cherished here. A library of antique books can help you learn increasingly rare skills and knowledge.
Caleb B — Google review
This museum has an amazing number of exhibits of salmon, rods and reels and beautifully tied flies( lures). There's a great deal of history about fishing in the area. The lady who spoke with us made it all very interesting and easy to understand. It's a little off the beaten track, but worth it.
Colleen R — Google review
They had a huge collection of Fishing equipment , well maintained.
V A — Google review
This was hands down the best stop we made during our time on the Cabot Trail! Worth the detour. Learned so much about the culture & history of the island, and those who made it home. Wish I could give it 6 stars. Lobster < Salmon
Zach H — Google review
My parents are from the Margarees, long-tail families as my mother always said. She grew up by the Forks and Dad went to school in the building now the museum. Us 5 kids went from the U.S. with our own families and Dad in tow and we went to the Salmon Museum! It was awesome history for us and our Dad! Salmon was a big thing, and fly fishing, and as kids, we all swam in the river down by my Aunt & Uncle's near Tompkins Road (family name). My one brother got a salmon before we left! It took every day up there, but he got one the night before we left. My father's sister in the states had (afterwards) shown us a picture of herself, my father (her brother) and their younger siblings in the school house, now museum, when they lived in Big Brook. My mother's father was a salmon guide at the McDaniel pool and we were thrilled to see pictures of him at the museum. He was also in WWI and WWII with numerous medals including either a Bronze or Silver Star, Purple heart - a very impressive amount of awards for his service and bravery. My Dad recognized people everywhere we went or they recognized him, even at the museum. That was 2005. He left home in 1960 with my mother to the U.S. Us 5 kids are still in touch with our family up there and we stayed last at Lake O'Law. We hope to be back in summer 2021. The museum is a wonderful place to visit, and any descendants from the area!
Lisa D — Google review
Amazing place for salmon fishing lovers and all. We didn't know anything about salmon fishing, but we're received by Shawn, what a wonderful surprise, he is knowledgable, funny and light in character, he made our visit memorable.

Whycocomagh Provincial Park

Campground
Nature & Parks
Parks
Nestled in the foothills of the Highlands, Whycocomagh Provincial Park is a rare gem in Cape Breton offering camping facilities. The park boasts a network of hiking trails leading to four stunning look-offs with breathtaking views of Bras d'Or Lakes. During fall, the surrounding forests burst into vibrant colors, making it an ideal time to visit. The park provides various tenting and trailer sites along with unique yurts that can be booked in advance.
It is a quiet, clean and well maintained park, comfort station is clean and tidy, RV sites are of large size, firewood are of good quality hard wood.
Lazy T — Google review
It was nice here. $5 for wood, and it was a good bundle. Showers were hot, strong, and not timed with outlets in the bathroom and hooks inside, which I loved. Sites are level but the campground is on a VERY steep hill, so the walk to the washrooms can be long depending on your site. Peaceful and clean and I liked the paved roads.
Jade R — Google review
Huge camping zone for campers, tents and just staying for a picnic. Relatively big parking zone for vehicles, some toilets and showers. This place is very good not only for camping opportunity, but because it has a big trail zone too. You can see them on the park map on my photo.
Alexandr O — Google review
Booked for an unserviced site, neighbour used generator every night and day despite it being clearly stated in the campground confirmation email that generators are only permitted during specific times (The lady told us that it was for her fridge and she would turn it off at night, but unfortunately that never happened.) If you require power outside of these already large permitted hours, you have to book an electrical service but it's probably cheaper for big rvs to book for an unserviced site and nobody's would tell them anything anyways as the staff does not exist here. What's the point of coming to a beautiful, quiet national park and running generators all days and nights? What about the care of others around you? And the wildlife? I would recommend thinking twice before booking here!
Emeline C — Google review
Lovely little spot for camping went by tent nice fireplace and can buy dry softwood for 5$. The roads are a bit bad but not horrible. Very clean restrooms and 3 shower male and female with hot water. Salt mountain is a nice hike as well but we use the campsite as a stop for the Cabot trail. Tim's Hortons and local co-op for food and meals. Fairly quiet place with a nice view And pet friendly
XGDoctorwho — Google review
Very nice camping. Really spaced apart well, quiet, clean bathrooms. A visit to Badock and Inverness is a must. Plus Egypt Falls.
Zoe N — Google review
A very pretty park. I think the yurts are seasonal; there were none available and none set up when we were there the end of September. The trails are easy to follow and beautiful. There is a shower house and laundry facilities on location.
Danielle C — Google review
Odd spot for a provincial park, however the location is convenient if you are traveling west to east. Trails are kind of just there, facilities are not exactly spotless, maybe it was just end of season, nobody is too concerned till the next season.

Cabot Cape Breton

Public golf course
Outdoor Activities
Cabot Cape Breton is an upscale oceanfront golf resort located near the Cabot Trail. It offers modern rooms, stunning ocean views, and exceptional dining options. The resort features two award-winning golf courses, Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs, both widely recognized as some of the world's best. Visitors can enjoy a world-class vacation with luxurious accommodations and breathtaking views of the Cape Breton coastline.
Absolutely beautiful golf resort! The courses are stunning, with breathtaking views in every direction. Everyone at Cabot makes you feel special from the moment you arrive — the service is exceptional and truly personalized. Our caddies, Aaron and Claire, were wonderful — friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience even more enjoyable. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to come back. A must-visit for any golf lover! ⛳️🌊
Cecilia H — Google review
We had a very nice trip here. Both courses are very well done and our fab was Links course. Cliffs is also nice too, however a few silly holes. Staff was very nice and restaurant had excellent food It’s quite expensive so prepare yourself.
Peter K — Google review
I had very high expectations for Cabot Cape Breton given its reputation, but my experience was shockingly bad from start to finish. For a place that markets itself as world-class, the level of service, organization, and hospitality was nowhere near acceptable. The staff seemed indifferent and at times outright dismissive, there was no genuine warmth or effort to make guests feel welcome. Simple requests took ages to be acknowledged, and communication between departments appeared completely disorganized. For the prices they charge, you’d expect attentive, polished service but instead, it felt chaotic and unprofessional. The accommodations were also disappointing: poorly planned, maintenance issues left unresolved, and overall far from the luxury standard that Cabot tries to project online. The food was overpriced and bland, and even basic amenities like Wi-Fi and heating were unreliable during my stay. The golf course may be scenic, but that’s about the only redeeming quality. Everything else from the service to the management’s attitude felt like a complete letdown. It’s all style over substance, and it’s clear they rely more on hype than on delivering real quality. For the cost, you can find far better experiences elsewhere in Nova Scotia, places that actually value their guests and understand what hospitality means. I wouldn’t recommend Cabot Cape Breton to anyone.
Tristan — Google review
My husband and I traveled to Cabot as part of a larger vacation and we finished it with a bang by staying at Cabot. This property is in a fabulous location and boasts amazing views. The staff here are generous and kind and the accommodations are top notch. This exceptional resort provides every possible offering to guests and is well worth the investment. We are grateful for the kindness we received from Bobby and the property management to celebrate our anniversary and renewal of our wedding vows. Absolutely fantastic!!
Rachel G — Google review
A must ! From awesome customer service, to great food and drinks, to stunning golf courses, this place is a must for any avid, or non-avid golfer. GM Mark Steenge ensured our stay was memorable with excellent personal touches. The staff and caddies are top notch, friendly, and skilled ! Golf courses like you dream about.
Dennis P — Google review
Cabot Cape Breton is pure golf heaven. From the moment you arrive, everything feels world-class — the views, the atmosphere, and the attention to detail. Cabot Cliffs is breathtaking and challenging with super fast greens, while The Nest — the 11-hole short course — is creative, fun, and perfectly maintained. The pro shop is top-tier, with premium gear, friendly staff, and everything you could possibly need for your round. The amenities for daily guests are outstanding — from the practice facilities with full TrackMan setup to the clubhouse and dining options. And if you stay multiple nights, it only gets better: luxurious rooms, incredible food, and sunsets you’ll never forget. Every corner of Cabot Cape Breton is done right. I’ll be returning again and again for the rest of my life.
Roy M — Google review
Thank you Cabot Cape Breton for making our engagement so special. We had an amazing time, the golf, the staff, the rooms, everything was very well done and made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Will definitely come back.

Very nice place to stay (even if you're not playinh golf) but not cheap of course. They were very friendly and all services were well organised. They have multiple options to eat breakfast/lunch/dinner. There's a shuttle service, you can rent bikes, they offer also tennis and axe throwing.

Glenora Inn & Distillery

Hotel

The Glenora Inn & Distillery, situated in Glenville, Inverness County, is a charming old-world inn located within North America's first single malt whisky distillery, Glen Breton Rare. Established in 1990, this picturesque retreat offers a range of accommodations including cozy rooms and log chalets overlooking the distillery. The property also features a refined pub and dining room where guests can enjoy daily ceilidhs.
My wife and I booked a room at GID as part of our Cabot Trail experience and were very happy we did. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room and washroom, although plain, was quite large compared to many of the other Inns we stayed in during our trip. We had dinner at the pub which was delicious (best fries that I've ever I had!) and the server was delightful. We took the distillery tour - not long - with a fellow (name escapes me) who is very keen on their single malt whiskey and the process. Enjoyable. We would stay again if ever in the area.
Bill K — Google review
We spent one night at Glenora Inn. The staff was very friendly. We started our visit off with a tour. It was quick and informative (they showed a video and then the Distiller described the process). We did not eat dinner here but upon our return from Inverness we had some drinks. Staff was helpful, prompt and friendly. There was also live music. Our room was solid. It has been redone but was a little rough around the edges. The shower could use a scrub has there was a build up of mold. We had a comfortable sleep. They provided a continental breakfast (coffee, tea, fruit, yogurt, hardboiled eggs, muffins, toast, bagels, biscuits). Location is remote but they provide a well rounded service.
Taryn K — Google review
The hospitality was great. The tour while short and sweet was also great The food in the pub was tip top. The music was beyond amazing, an employee just enjoying a drink and some food grabbed her violin and started to play! Everyone was nice and so friendly. The area was beautiful. I would love to make a trip back and would definitely recommend to anyone both a stay and the whisky! Cheers!
Rachel M — Google review
Went here for our anniversary. It was nice but fell short of expectations. A place that charges $400 a night for a room should provide glasses for its guests. The room had cheesy plastic cups and also cable TV with more ads than content. This isn't the 1990's. Great location, beautiful grounds and clean spacious room but lacking class that you'd expect with the price. It was our second visit, and the tour is short and lacking any real technical details unlike the one we had years ago which was fantastic.
Brad B — Google review
We didn't stay overnight but we did eat lunch at the patio and do the 'distillery tour'. I wouldn't waste time on the tour. It was an old video that was so hard to hear and strange and then not even a shot of a sample but really a tiny sip. The guide seemed like he had somewhere else to be and was filling in because he didn't have answers or really explain much. The actual tour took about 8 minutes. Lunch however was very good and fish was cooked perfect and our waitress was very friendly and attentive. They had a problem with my daughters meal and she came out and explained it and said it would be no charge but a few minutes late. Beautiful location.
Tara J — Google review
Review is only for the restaurant. Food was excellent. I had the fish cakes with a Caesar salad and both were excellent. Others in the group also enjoyed their meals. The whiskey (14 year old) was fabulous.
Peter L — Google review
The Glen Breton 10 year rare is the best! Very smooth. If you’re not able to buy it at the distillery itself, you can find it at several liquor stores in Nova Scotia and other parts of Canada as well. Beautiful location.
B B — Google review
Highlights included... a beautiful property, nice rooms, cute gift shop, listening to live entertainment while having dinner, sitting with family on the outdoor patios, food was delicious. Views are beautiful and staff was friendly. Best part was tasting the whiskeys and having a favorite bottled and numbered right from the cask strength barrels in the gift shop.

Less than helpful. When i asked for suggestions of what could be good to see, Given that there was a fire ban, she opened the map waved her finger over it and said depends what you wants to see. If I knew that I would not need their help! She was barely interested in selling her part of the province.

Brought my in-laws here on our way onto the island. We used the very clean washrooms, and then asked for a map from a very helpful guide. Map in hand, we are ready for our Cape Breton adventure!

Great staff. Very helpful. Helped with the attraction list and we could plan better thanks to them. Great restaurant ideas too ! Clean washrooms.

Celtic Music Interpretive Centre

Exhibit
The Celtic Music Interpretive Centre is a captivating destination on Cape Breton Island that offers an immersive experience for visitors interested in the significance of Celtic music. The center features interactive exhibits, historical information, and hands-on opportunities with various instruments, including the fiddle. Guests can also explore vintage instruments, learn about different music genres, study Gaelic, and even try traditional dances.
We stopped here on our way back from touring around the Cabot Trail to check out the museum and glad we did. It’s a small museum but does a great job of explaining the music culture prevalent in Cape Breton and elsewhere in Nova Scotia. There’s free dance lessons with a video you can start and stop. You can pick up a fiddle and play it. And the day we were there, there was a Ceilidh going on in the front room - well attended and with great music to listen to as we toured the museum. Definitely recommend!

Absolutely first rate music!! I have never heard live Celtic music before. Unreal!! And great food & service too😁😁👍👍 Right on the Celtic Shores bicycle/walking trail & Cabot Trail Hwy

We stopped in for the lunch ceilidh. Our meal was absolutely delicious and service was stellar. Fantastic, fabulous music for 2.5 hrs interspersed with delightful stories about music on the island. The museum is well worth the small admission price. We really enjoyed learning dance steps and practicing with a fiddle! Cannot recommend this experience highly enough.

Stopped by for breakfast while staying in Judique. I had the fish cakes with eggs over easy, and potatoes and my wife had the senior bacon and eggs. Both meals were very good and filling. The service was excellent and had decent prices. We were going to go back for lunch and listen to some music but we were both still so full from breakfast we didn't bother but we will if we are in the area again.
Doug — Google review
The food was ok, service was good. We went on an afternoon to experience the Ceilidh and square dancing. $10 per person above the cost of your food when there is a music program. The music was fine but too loud. Square dancing was peculiar to the area I'm guessing, no caller to announce the steps and hardly any space to accommodate more than 8 dancers. No one announced come join in the dancing, it appeared like you couldn't just jump up and join. Very close to the bike path and walking trail.
Carmen J — Google review
A great place for old and new friends to gather for tunes, dancing and dining. Some of the activities do change seasonally, so it's important to check out the website. The Sunday afternoon ceilidhs are a special treat with "the regulars" always ready to help out newer visitors enjoy dancing in square sets. The kitchen crew and servers do a fine job meeting everyone's needs. Stop by and stay a while!
Bob B — Google review
Stopped for lunch and to watch the live music. I had the Cape Breton lunch, which was really good, but a lot of food. It wasn't until I read the reviews of others that I realized there was a museum there too, so I wish that was better pointed out.

August 28, 2023 UPDATE: We had a great lunch at the Celtic Music Centre this afternoon! The seafood chowder, served with a warm tea biscuit was "delicious", the spinach salad was fresh and tasty ... and the turtle cheesecake divine (the slice was not too large, not too small ... just right). Really enjoyed the live music by Donna Marie DeWolfe (fiddler) and Amanda MacDougall (piano). Our server was lovely and we were greeted with a welcoming smile! August 27, 2021 - I had a wonderful dining and music experience at Judique’s unique Celtic Music Centre (CMIC) on Friday, August 27, 2021. Everything on the menu looked tempting, so I opted for the “Piper’s Burger” with a side of fries (photo). The meal was generous ... and delicious (I especially appreciated the option to select a gluten-free hamburger bun). During my dining time at the centre, I enjoyed their “Lunch Time Ceilidh” featuring well-known local musicians Shelly Campbell and Cathy Hawley (photo). After lunch I visited the gift store (photos) and took a little tour of the interactive exhibit room that highlights the history of Cape Breton music (photos). The Ceilidh Pub staff were friendly, warm and fun! (photo). Overall, the Celtic Music Centre is a grand place to visit for great food, wonderful music, a lovely gift shop, interesting exhibition, and friendly, engaging staff. If you are travelling up or down Hwy 19, I’d highly recommend it!

Old Barn Galleries, Gardens, Decor & Antiques is a charming shop located at Beaver Dam Farm in Antigonish. The gallery showcases an array of art including paintings, sculpture, antiques, folk art, and fabric art. Visitors can also find vintage quilts and linens, antique hooked rugs, wood turnings, and handmade rustic furniture. The owner Carol's impressive impressionist style paintings are a highlight along with works by four other artists.
The photography by Tate is absolutely must see amazing! Carol also has an extensive collection of amazing abstract art. Both are very friendly! Definitely recommend visiting if you have a chance.

This place is a hidden gem! Beautiful artwork by local artists including Carol (aka Naveta), the knowledgeable owner. She took us around, telling us the history of the farm and the artwork the buildings contained. There are also some antiques for sale. Artwork is reasonably priced; we bought three pieces.

Found thus beautiful photo and met the lovely owners off the beaten path during a recent trip to Nova Scotia. If you have the chance and some extra time I recommend making the stop

Don't miss Rodney Tate's photos! He is such an amazing photographer! We tried our best to narrow it down to two finally, as we were exceeding our luggage weight limit. He is super nice and chill. I love the animal photos he took, and his enormous effort in all seasons to catch them, as a photography lover, I understand how hard it is. Good job Rodney!

This is an interesting shop. The owner, Carol has lots of cool paintings in impressionist style. 4 other artists have works there, too. Next door in the carriage house holds works by wildlife photography, Ron. Each gave us back stories to their work and were interesting to talk with. The garden they have created is beautiful. Lots of different types of plants and statues.

Beautiful spot and view of Northumberland Strait - we visited in late April and had the site to ourselves. Listen to the bell buoy ringing gently amidst the sound of the ocean and the wind. Can understand why the Cape George Community wanted to preserve this lighthouse and place. Lovely

Specialty Museums
Sherbrooke Village, located east of Halifax, offers a glimpse into the bustling life of a 19th-century village centered around timber, tall ships, and the gold rush. With 25 original buildings along the St. Marys River, visitors can immerse themselves in pre-1900s living. Costumed interpreters showcase various crafts like blacksmithing and weaving while allowing guests to try their hand at these skills.
What an amazing experience for our whole family! We have a 15-yr-old, 13-yr-old, and a 3-yr-old. All 3 had an amazing time. Everyone was so friendly and knowledgeable. And they were great with our little guy. We have been to several living history museums, and this was on par or better. The history aspect was amazing, but both of daughter enjoyed the Escape Room the most. It was hands-down their favorite part. It was so clever and well done. My older daughter has done 2 others before (in the USA) and she said this was her fav. And my husband said that the price for the whole day was very reasonable for our family of 5. What a great day overall!!!

Fun little museum. Walk along a tiny village with real people dressed in old fashioned clothes doing old fashioned things. You can interact with them and they pretend to still live in these times. Great fun. If you are up for it you can even hire an outfit yourself and walk through the streets feeling transported back in time.

The Village is fantastic. The staff all working together this last summer was such a wonderful service. The activities for both children and adults was amazing. We were lucky enough to be present on the day of a dog show as well as the Saturday market, which were both lovely surprises. The food in their café was fabulous, and the service was tremendous. We enjoyed exploring all the buildings and talking to the staff about the Village. Can't say enough good things. We will definitely be back.

Steinhart Distillery is renowned for its award-winning classic gin, flavored gins, and vodkas such as haskap gin and vodka, blueberry gin, maple vodka, and habanero vodka. The distillery also offers tours and tastings in a newly renovated bar store area with friendly staff. Visitors can enjoy delicious cocktails and lunch with a stunning view while experiencing the distillery in action.
A must stop to stock up on your favorite spirits, have a delicious cocktail, eat a yummy lunch with a breathtaking view, and tour a distillery in action. My family has been frequenting this place for years. I recommend it to everyone! Super friendly staff with the best vodka and gin cocktails around. at a great price. They have recently renovated and it’s even a cooler “bar” store area. Make sure to sign the “graffiti” bathroom wall (super clean restroom!)

really beautiful, scenic location. lots of alcohol made on site, gin, vodka, whisky. you can buy a drink at the bar inside and also buy small and large bottles. staff didnt seem excited, interested, or friendly. things inside to purchase weren't clearly labelled and was a lot of questions just to understand which flavor was offered in each size.
Raz — Google review
Gin-tastic Potential, but Missing a Few Ingredients There’s much to love about the Ginstitute at Steinhart Distillery—plenty of gin, a stunning view, and a class that's as educational as it is boozy—but like a good cocktail, it’s missing a few key ingredients to make it perfect. The good? Oh, it's really good. We’re talking knock-your-socks-off views of the Northumberland Strait (PEI is practically waving at you), an eccentric host who lives and breathes gin, and cocktails that will have you wondering if you should pack up your life and move here. Plus, there’s a hands-on gin-making class that will leave you feeling like a distiller. All in all, the gin-credible experience you've heard about. But here’s the tonic to your gin. The food truck—great for a snack, not so much for an entire weekend’s meals. And the cabin? Let’s call it 'rustic,' but not in that chic Instagrammable way. More like ‘this lamp’s missing a lampshade, and why does this loveseat look like it’s wearing a diaper?’ You get the picture. My advice? Bring your own snacks and expectations of a laid-back, rustic vibe. A little welcome basket and a clear ‘here’s what’s happening’ booklet would go a long way in helping guests settle in. Fix the screens, toss in some extra seating, and suddenly this place is as charming as a cold G&T on a hot day. All in all, is it worth visiting? Absolutely, just come prepared with some picnic-worthy provisions, and expect a few quirks along the way. It’s like a cocktail made with love but missing the garnish—a little rough around the edges, but still worth the sip.
Katteer67 — Google review
I have been going to Steinhart Distillery several times through out the summer, the past several years. It's a lovely spot, great drinks, nice outdoor view, good food when the food truck is open, live music, etc. But my biggest beef with them and the reason for the 3/5 review is the lack of public washrooms, the poor layout of patio vs serving drinks and the outdoor sitting area. When this place is busy, the lone washroom with single toilet in the building is not sufficient. Long lineups for the single bathroom. I mentioned it to staff and even they don't like it. A couple of years back, there were port-a-potties outside, but not last summer. Even so, these were not well maintained and then stench/state of them was not inviting. I am shock and disappointed that such successful landmark business in the area does not have a better washroom situation. There have been lots of govt grants given and more could be applied for, to get this improved. Surely for the buildings that have weddings, there is more than one toilet. Hot Tip: many outdoor hospitality businesses will make use of containers to convert to washrooms, usually can get 2-3 separate toilets in them. Next, the outdoor sitting area could be improved. Just basic picnic tables, no shade whatsoever and it can get pretty hot & sunny out there, and the surface is hard gravel. C'mon: make that area more esthetically pleasing. Invest a little money in that area. And the layout to get drink service could be improved. There should be a window one can stand up at from the outdoor seating to order their drinks vs making the trek around the corner and into the building. The food truck container should be moved, so that the staff doesn't cook themselves in it, come post 2 pm when the hot sun turns it into the inside of a furnace for them. Going back to Steinhart this summer - I will be interested to see if any improvements made to these areas. Hope owner is reading this!

Good gins and vodkas. Very flavorful gin & tonics. We tried the Rhubarb G&T, Blueberry, & Haskap... The gals behind the bar lacked any knowledge about the site, location, ingredients used to make the local flavors. We had taken a 45-minute detour from our road trip specifically to come to this distillery hoping to learn moe abou the unique flavors from other reviews. It was only because of the taste of he drinks, we ended up buying a couple of bottles. It would have been nice to have someone more knowledgable sharing about the history about gins and vodkas we bought. The charm in visiting distilleries is in the story of how the product is made.
Gita P — Google review
They specialise in gin and vodka. Multiple choices of mix and sampling at the bar. Small snack bar next to the distillery is serving fisk & chips
Luc B — Google review
For the food : Once a beloved spot for its hearty Schnitzel, this restaurant has taken a disappointing turn. Now, the menu resembles something you'd find at a typical food truck, a stark contrast to its former glory. Despite the amazing view it offers, the overall experience is soured by an agonizingly long wait time. With only one person taking orders and preparing food, you're looking at more than a 90-minute wait for your meal. Sadly, the stunning view doesn't make up for the long delay and the diluted menu. This isn't the place it once was, and unfortunately, I won't be returning

Cape Bear Lighthouse and Marconi Station

Cape Bear Lighthouse and Marconi Station, located near Murray Harbour in Prince Edward Island, is one of the seven lighthouses on the island that visitors can explore. It holds historical significance as it was the first Canadian land station to receive distress signals from the Titanic. The lighthouse features an interpretative center with exhibits on its history and connection to the Titanic, as well as a gift shop offering local crafts.
Cute little lighthouse that you can climb up to the top in. Don‘t look into the light, though! The Marconi Museum is included in the lighthouse, so it is by no means huge. But you do get lots of information about this lighthouse and radio station and its role during the sinki g of the Titanic. Definitely worth a short stop.

Good access to the lighthouse. Very friendly staff. You can go into the lighthouse for a fee. There are several picnic tables. There is no cell service here so I recommend downloading offline maps or another alternative for directions until decent cell service resumes on the main roads.

Cute lighthouse with some links to the Titanic sinking which was an interesting bit of information we did not know. The staff are friendly and happy to share info about the surrounding area. Entry to climb the lighthouse was $6 per adult when we visited and we felt this was fair. The setting is lovely and quiet and the climb up and down was fun.

Tranquility Cove Adventures, owned by Perry Gotell, offers a variety of water excursions including deep-sea fishing tours and starfish hunting trips. The fishing tours provide the chance to see seals and other wildlife, with the option to have your catch barbecued on board. Private charters and customized tours are also available, as well as special 4-hour wedding packages.
Nice educational deep sea fishing tour. Friendly staff and super clean boat. We started by fishing mackerels. We learned how to use the fishing rods and catch fish. Then the crew showed us how they catch lobsters, crabs with thorough explanations. And they explained and showed us how they farm mussels. We also got to watch some seals. Highly recommended especially if it is the first time for you in the island.

We had an incredible time on our deep sea fishing and BBQ adventure! Captain Perry and his whole crew were amazing and we learned a lot! The entire experience was well thought out and it was one of our favorite things we did in PEI!

Had an awesome day out on the water with this fishing charter! From the moment we got on board, the captain and crew were super friendly, attentive, and clearly knew what they were doing. Everything ran smoothly and felt well-organized, but still relaxed and fun. We caught a bunch of fish (definitely more than we expected!), and the crew made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. The best part? They grilled up our catch for us. Fresh fish BBQ by the water! Highly recommend this charter if you're looking for a fun, laid-back fishing experience with a great crew.

We booked an excursion with Tranquility Adventures last minute as we are touring and don’t have an exact schedule. We booked online the night before which was super easy. Perry greeted us the next morning at the little office by his dock and boat. We weren’t sure how we could fit in all he promised in 2 hours but the crew is super organized and did not disappoint at all. The boat looked to be in great shape and it was super clean, inside and out. They showed how rock crabs, lobsters and mussels were caught. They explained this with great details and could answer any questions. We had the opportunity to fish with good quality rod and reels. They kept the fish we caught. They filleted them, BBQ’d them for a great tasting plate of fish for each person. There were 11 passengers on the boat. The crew was great. The price was right. I highly recommend going on this 2 hour excursion.

We had the most wonderful experience with Perry and crew. Highly recommend making the time to do this. They were very informative about lobsters, crabs, mussels and deep sea fishing. It was a really enjoyable time and ended with some fresh mackerel on the grill.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Cindy, Gordy, Perry, and Art! They were incredibly knowledgeable and shared insights about mussel farming, lobster fishing, and king crab harvesting and preparation techniques. The mackerel fishing was a highlight - everyone was successful, including those who had never fished before! 10/10 educational and exciting that I'd highly recommend to anyone interested in learning about seafood and trying their hand at fishing.

Dundarave Golf Course, located in Cardigan, Prince Edward Island, was designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry in 1999 to complement the classic Brudenell River Golf Course. The course features a modern layout with holes framed by forest and large red-sand bunkers that add challenge to the game. With a length of over 7,200 yards and a tough stretch of holes from Nos.
Challenging course. Tough walk, lots of ground to cover between holes. Always in great shape. We’ve been coming here annually for the last 15 years and always stay on site. Beautiful property.

Nice track, very wide fairways but lots of traps to avoid. Drinks were ferociously expensive, but seemed to be the rule in PEI. They had some damaged greens and tee boxes due to some horses that got loose the day before. We had great weather but I would think in poor weather this course could be a beast. Choose the proper tee boxes. Wonderful staff across the board!
Kyle R — Google review
Course was in great shape, especially for a late September round. There is some very scenic holes, especially on the water, oyster fisherman 20 yards from the cart path working in the water was pretty cool to see. The range is full length which was nice, with a decent short game setup as well. The putting green was ridiculously fast, and then when we got on the course the first few greens didn't even come close to the same speed. This was a big negative for me and everyone trying to score on the first few holes. Eventually they sped up and got closer to the practice green. Fairways were nice and quite firm, sometimes hard to hole if you didn't take the right line. Some fun blind tee shots. Pro shop is well stocked, with gear from both courses. Food and beverage was average.
Jeffrey T — Google review
Really great golf course! Not overly difficult, very well manicured fairways, the greens could use a bit of work, and as usual most people weren’t fixing their divots on the greens. Overall a great course, and awesome staff. There is no beverage cart as they have a halfway house that you pass on holes 3/8/15 that offer food and drinks. Golf carts also have GPS’a which was accurate and convenient

Caribou/Munroes Island Provincial Park is a picturesque destination along the coastline, featuring a mile-long sandy beach that offers warm saltwater swimming. The spacious and well-maintained campground provides an excellent environment for camping and enjoying nature. Visitors can appreciate convenient water facilities, electricity charging points, and clean washrooms. The park's beautiful beach with clear water is perfect for relaxation and outdoor activities.
During our three week trip with RV in Nova Scotia this was one of the best campgrounds. We had site 9 in loop A with power and had a view on the ocean. Lots of free space to play. Quiet. Beautiful beach with little people and clear water is 100m away. Dumping station and fresh water also available. If you can bring your own wood instead of paying 5 dollar for some sticks (like everywhere in NS).

Last week I camped at Caribou/Munroes Island Provincial Park with group of friends and had a mostly positive experience. The camping lots are spacious and well-maintained, providing a great environment for a relaxing outdoor getaway. The water facilities and electricity charging points were very convenient and easily accessible, which made the stay much more comfortable. The washrooms, located in the center of the park, were generally okay. However, the toilets did have some noticeable bad odours that could be improved. Despite this, the overall cleanliness of the park was commendable. The natural beauty of the park, with its scenic views and serene surroundings, with beach close by and picnic area more than makes up for any minor inconveniences. I would definitely recommend this park for anyone looking for a peaceful camping experience and vast beach.

Just went for an afternoon at the beach on a Wednesday in July. Easy to get to, with wheelchair access to the edge beach, but no solid boardwalk for chairs to get onto the beach. Plenty of people there, but not crowded. Sand was soft, but had a lot of seaweed and shells. Water was ice cold, even at the end of July. Would go here again to enjoy the sand and sun.

At first I didn’t like the place because it looked like you’d get lost easily but after I walked around and got to know places and directions it went fine. The beach is really pretty and so was the sunset. Is was colder at night then I thought but it’s my fault for not bringing thicker clothes, so I suggest get warm clothes and blankets. Overall it was fun :)

This is the best camping spot for families. The bathrooms are really nice and clean. The sites are a great size and the beach is a nice sandy beach, although the water is kind of chilly. The Munroe's island hike is a good long walk that is easy for kids.

Beautiful campground. Staff are friendly. Office was open until 10pm which was really convenient. Our first time camping and we're not disappointed. We stayed at site #1. We definitely would come back, but booking at Caribou-Munroes was really very crucial this year.
Pinoy N — Google review
Very nice park that is located along a beautiful stretch of coastline. It has a very nice and long sandy beach that rivals many other places. The sites are overall well sized, especially those with electric and water. Only site 30 is tight for larger trailers and a vehicle. The washroom with showers was very clean, they clean them hourly! However, for a park this size one building with washroom and showers is definitely not enough. Especially if you are in a different loop you are a bit out of luck if you don’t have your own bathroom as even the number of outhouses is low. But they do have cooking shelters which is nice in case the weather is not as great.

Always loved Caribou beach. Have been going here since I was a kid. Long sandy beach. At one end is the pictou lodge beach resort. At the provincial park there is camping, picnic area with large grass areas and some shade trees. Parking area. Very few jelly fish compared to most beaches. Clean clear water. Very salty. Great for tanning or swimming and lots of room for building sand castles or playing catch.

Hector Heritage Quay Interpretation Centre is a significant living history attraction in Nova Scotia, showcasing the pivotal role of Ship Hector in the 18th-century Scottish migration to the New World. This site highlights Pictou as the Birthplace of New Scotland and offers insights into Canada's Scottish heritage. Visitors can delve into the history of the 189 Scottish Highlanders who arrived on Ship Hector at Browns Point in Pictou Harbor, seeking a new life in North America.
Make this a destination to visit. It is a great interactive museum. They have a blacksmith on site that you can talk to and you can tour the ship beginning at noon.

Beautiful wood work, gorgeous setting. Realistic displays, if you’re trying to escape the heat there is no air conditioning it’s quite warm when you get up to the top level but worth it to stand on the balcony and take in the breath taking views ! A piece of history being rebuilt is quite awe inspiring. The ship itself is such an ambitious task ! I recently broke an ankle so wasn’t able to partake in the interior of the ship belly, but I peaked down the steps , great experience for the able bodied people ! Affordable, educational, and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable! Would return ! 4 star only because it’s not air conditioned and it would be nice to have a tour guide through the museum !

Such an awesome piece of history to see. It's under repairs so we were unable to go aboard but the outside is a piece of art.
Trudi G — Google review
Nice place to visit. The Hector wasnt available for tours as it was going through repairs but still worth the visit.
Darrell J — Google review
Beautiful restored, to scale replica of the original Hector ship that brought the first Scottish immigrants to new Scotland (Nova Scotia). The ship, gift shop, museum, and the waterfront were all worth the drive to Pictou. 💜
Lori N — Google review
Love the museum and the history. They had actors playing parts of the people on the ships and the ship itself was such an education. Outside the grounds, you can find a monument to the Scottish travellers who arrived on the ship and started their lives in Nova Scotia, encouraging other Scots to follow in their paths. Very fun and educational to visit while in Pictou.
Krista W — Google review
This was an exceptionally well made museum: it draws on the similarities between the Mikma'k and the Scottish to tell an engaging story without going too much into detail that would make it hard to digest. It's not big and when we went the Hector wasn't on site and neither was the blacksmith but that didn't matter - we enjoyed it either way!

The Greenwich Interpretation Centre, located within Prince Edward Island National Park, offers free displays for public viewing. Visitors can purchase a pass to explore the outdoor grounds and trails around Greenwich. The center provides educational information about the coast, birds, fish, and wildlife. It is recommended as a stop before or after visiting the beautiful Greenwich beach and trails. The Dunes trail with its floating boardwalk is highly recommended for its stunning and unique ecosystem.
I was pleasantly surprised by this centre. I've been to this beach tons and love doing the floating boardwalk- But I had never actually stepped inside and walked around the exhibits. Nice atmosphere and great displays.

Maybe it's one of the best interpretation centers I've been to in a long time. Lots of great information about the coast, the birds, fish, and wildlife. Highly recommend stopping here. Plenty of parking. Room for big rig campers in the paved parking lot.

An awesome park. Beautiful walk ways through the country side with the ocean within view all the time. Amazing floating walk way over a large pond.

Make sure you do the Dunes trail, with the floating boardwalk. Not much more than an hour roundtrip, 1.5 at a leisurely pace. Absolutely stunning and one of the more unique ecosystems that I saw in PEI.

Beautiful area and some wonderful walking trails. A must visit.
Nick S — Google review
The displays in the center are FREE for the public to view! You only have to buy a pass to explore the outdoor grounds and trails around Greenwich! A great little educational center that I do recommend checking out if you're in the area, or have some time before/after visiting the beautiful Greenwich beach and trails. There are lots of interactive displays to teach you about the surrounding environment as well as some historical displays giving valuable information about indigenous groups that live on the island. The coolest thing here has to be the large models of a shark, sea turtle, wolf fish, and skate created by Doug Morse. They are incredibly detailed, and have info cards giving some facts about each animal!

Wood Islands Lighthouse

Event venue
Wood Islands Lighthouse, a charming red and white structure built in 1876, offers visitors a glimpse into local history through its exhibits. Situated conveniently near the ferry dock, it provides picturesque sea views from its base and an opportunity to explore maritime history at the museum inside. Unlike many other lighthouses in PEI, this one boasts less steep stairs for easy access to the top where visitors can enjoy panoramic views.
Fantastic pit stop right before boarding the ferry to PEI. Neat lighthouse with some great views of the shoreline and ferry. Also a great last stop for the dog before boarding the ship. Easy to find and you can just park on the side of the road.

Northumberland Ferries Ltd offers a delightful ferry experience between Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, making it an essential part of any travel itinerary. Starting your journey at the Wood Islands Ferry Terminal, you can enjoy the scenic surroundings, including a lovely park by the lighthouse while waiting for your departure. The ferry ride itself lasts just over an hour and is known for its punctuality; passengers are loaded efficiently and set sail on time.
This is the review to read if you are like me and have never road a ferry before (I live in Iowa! No water!). I was extremely confused on how it worked, so I took photos for someone like me! I went from PEI to Nova Scotia. The fee per car is the same if reservation or standby, so make a reservation as it is busy! You will go to a toll booth to check in and they will tell you what lane to park in. You can then walk around and they will call you to your car on an intercom. They then direct you to drive on and direct you where to park. And they park the cars tight! Go upstairs and enjoy the ride! They have indoor and outdoor seating. Right before they dock they call you back to your car then direct you off single file. You drive straight, off the ramp, and onto the highway! They are pretty organized and efficient. Just follow directions and you will be good!
Anna D — Google review
This review focuses on the wheelchair accessible experience on the MV Confederation ship between PEI and NS. At the time of booking I checked the box for accessibility needs, upon check in at the terminal the employee asked about my specific needs and directed us to a special lane to wait in with our 4 way flashers on. During boarding we again told employees our needs. I travel in a lowered floor minivan (which the bottom did scrape when exiting up the steep ramp from the bottom A deck) with a ramp on the passenger side and we were parked right by the elevator with 6 feet of space on the passenger side. There was an automatic door and a nice elevator. There was a bit of a bump at the threshold to the pet friendly E deck where we sat because we had our dog with us. The crossing went smoothly but I didn't need to explore the rest of the ship or use the washroom.

Today showed up in caribou and I was a day late. I made a mistake. The lady at your booth was so kind and got me on the 10am ferry to PEI. I was very grateful to her. I had reserved this trip. Once on board the new ferry was so spectacular and I was very impressed. Had the breakfast and really enjoyed it . Very peaceful trip. Am looking forward to my return trip next week. Thank you.

Located in the Village of Morell on St. Peters Bay, The Links at Crowbush Cove is considered one of Prince Edward Island's top golf courses. Designed by Canadian architect Tom McBroom, this 18-hole course offers stunning views of PEI's North Shore sand dunes and luxurious surroundings around the Rodd Crowbush Golf & Beach Resort. The undulating greens and well-maintained fairways make it a popular destination for both playing and staying.
Love this Course. Crowbush is a tough and picturesque course that you can play over and over. The weather was great and the breeze coming off the water (besides from making the course tougher) was welcome. Staff here is fantastic and there is nothing negative to say. Got to play it 2 more times when we got lucky as someone cancelled. Great Course.
Topher E — Google review
Just a gorgeous place to play golf. For the quality of the course, the beauty of the location, and the attitude and service of the staff, this is one of the premier places I have ever played. A tough course despite it not being super long, it’s the perfect place to play an afternoon round that you’ll remember for a long time.
Andrew B — Google review
What a fantastic experience! Beautiful course, fantastic staff that were incredibly friendly and helpful and a great breakfast before we teed off! I don't live anywhere near PEI but if I'm ever back I'll definitely play here again!

An amazing course that is in awesome shape and full of challenge. The views are also beautiful. Don’t take anything for granted on this course be cautious and don’t overshoot. You’ll love the fast greens and link style course. Watch out for the wind too.
Mark E — Google review
The course is in great shape and is very challenging. Make sure you get your camera ready on the last 4 holes as there are some beautiful spots for pictures. Thank you for a great round of golf.
Dan T — Google review
The course is absolutely stunning and have some of the best views I’ve seen in Canada, especially along the ocean. The layout is fun and challenging, and Holes 11 and 16 are worth the hype. That said, the overall experience didn’t live up to the course’s reputation. I had to rent a club I forgot at home and was surprised to be charged $25 for an average putter, asked for a $100 deposit, and made to sign multiple forms. I’ve never encountered anything like that at any other course, including some more prestigious than Crowbush. After the round, I gave the putter to the cart staff and even went to the clubhouse to inform the staff. Despite that, I was woken up at 5–6am the next morning with multiple phone calls accusing me of not returning it. They later found it had been misplaced by their own team — but never followed up to let me know the issue was resolved. On top of that, we were being rushed around the course despite playing at a perfectly reasonable pace, which really took away from the experience. At this price point, you’d expect a more relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The setting is world-class, but the staff policies and overall vibe didn’t match. Hoping they improve the guest experience, because the course itself is truly special…

What a beautiful place. I was able to visit here in July and it was beautiful. We came for my nieces birthday and got some fantastic pictures while there. There is one pavillion with some chairs and a I think a picnic table, lavender chairs throughout the venue.

Such a fun stop to make when driving the Sunrise Trail along the Northumberland Shore. I visited with a friend visiting from Ontario that had never visited before. Staff was SO pleasant and helpful which only added to the experience. We learned some neat facts about lavender and saw a variety of lavender plants and some incredibly happy bees. The shop has so many options - from lavender potted plants to seeds, essential oils made onsite, soaps, creams, and so much more. This is a great spot to stop and smell the lavender!

Located in the eastern region of Prince Edward Island, Canada, Point Prim Lighthouse is among the oldest lighthouses in the province. Built in 1845, this circular brick structure stands at 60 feet tall and has been guiding ships through the Northumberland Strait for many years. The lighthouse's pristine white exterior adds to its unique charm. Visiting this historic site provides insight into its significance and contributes to its maintenance.
Great attraction in PEI and one of the only lighthouses you can actually climb up. My family had a wonderful time. It’s not a long visit but still has some great history to it. There are washrooms and a little shop, and a restaurant right beside it as well!

A lovely stop on my trip to PEI. Got to climb up into the Lighthouse and learn about the history. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable. And the area is just gorgeous!

This review is for Point Prim Chowder house. Priceyness was justified with taste and view. Lobster roll and seafood chowder was very pricey. But when you bite into the buttery lobster roll with thick and juicy lobster, you are fully experiencing PEI. Also when you have hot spoonful of clams, scallops and potatoes from seafood chowder, you are in heaven. Chowder was perfectly seasoned and perfect consistency. My wife and I shared but we were yearning for more. This place was unexpected find by visiting Point Prim Lighthouse. If you are visiting lighthouse, stop by the chowder house.

Beautiful lighthouse area. Well taken care of and decorated. The theme here is red. Red benches and red picnic tables for you to enjoy. Take a stroll along the beach, go up the lighthouse for a small fee, or gaze out over the water. Either way, Point Prim Lighthouse is definitely worth the drive. A very picturesque lighthouse.

It really is quite good. Service is incredible. Everyone is knowledgeable, friendly and quick. Reservations are recommended for sure. A really important part of breakfast/brunch is the coffee and Sugar Moon has delicious coffee. One thing I will mention is it is pretty expensive considering what you get. Nestled behind the bustling Victoria Row, St. Dunstan's Basilica is a stunning architectural gem that captivates visitors with its towering spires and intricate Gothic Revival details. This historic church showcases the High Victorian Gothic style, setting it apart from other churches in Quebec. After a devastating fire in 1913, just six years post-completion, the basilica underwent meticulous restoration to preserve its striking brick and stone facade adorned with numerous pinnacles.
Cool historic Catholic Church with the location dating back to the 1800s and the church being built in 1919. There is great architecture inside and out. A must walk by if visiting in town. Even if you don’t go inside the view from outside is gorgeous. Even if you aren’t religious the architecture alone is worth the views.

A must visit basilica in quiet city of Charlottetown. Parking was a bit challenging and most of the roads are narrow and one way. Better park in designated parking spaces and take a 5min walk to the Basilica. The architecture was amazing with well decorated ceiling and aesthetic feel. Come visit this place!

Beautiful Basilica! This Cathedral Parish had its humble beginnings in the 1700s. Very rich in history! I visited on a Saturday afternoon just before the 4pm Mass and said a prayer of thanksgiving for the opportunity to see this beautiful High Victoian Gothic Cathedral, a National Historic Site! A treasure handed down by many generations before us so we can have a holy place of worship.
Legion T — Google review
A Sacred Landmark of Faith and Heritage During my visit to Charlottetown, I had the privilege of spending time at St. Dunstan’s Basilica, an enduring testament to the Christian faith and a cornerstone of Prince Edward Island’s spiritual and cultural life. As a Christian who does not belong to the Catholic tradition, I still felt a profound sense of reverence and admiration for this sacred place. The basilica’s neo-Gothic architecture is striking, with its twin spires rising high above the city skyline—a visible reminder of the enduring presence of the Church. Inside, the atmosphere is serene and contemplative. Sunlight streams through the magnificent stained glass windows, casting vibrant colors across the pews and the intricately carved altar. It is clear that generations of believers have poured their devotion and care into maintaining this house of worship. While our traditions may differ in certain practices, standing within these walls reminded me of the shared foundations of our faith in Christ. The beauty of St. Dunstan’s is not merely in its architecture but in the witness it bears to a community shaped by prayer, sacrament, and service. I would encourage any Christian visitor, regardless of denomination, to take time to appreciate both the historical significance and the spiritual atmosphere of this basilica. It is a place where one can pause, reflect, and honor the faith that has inspired so many throughout the generations.

A charming pedestrian only street full of restaurants and cafes. There's a stage set for live music every night. It's a safe place to walk and explore in the heart of Charlottowne.

This is overrated in my opinion. There is one interesting street of shops and restaurants (with overpriced food). The walk to and from “Victoria Row” was more interesting.

This is a great place to take a walk with a few cute shops and restaurants. I wanted to love it more, but it was smaller than expected and a bit lackluster. The Old architecture on the buildings was beautiful.

Victoria Row was very nice. You have many choices to have something to eat. In the evening there was live music. It a happening place. Lots of friendly people.

Victoria Row pedestrian street....maybe due to the construction site nearby is a must. (Fall 2025) The few stores are worth visiting. For my taste, the Northern Watters Knitwear and Tartan by itself is worth the stop. We ate at the Irish Pub, one of the many cafes and restaurants, has great food and excellent service....with great smiles...we ate on the terrasse of the pub. All establishment offer inside and a street terrasse.

This was an interesting place. We happen to visit during the moon festival. It was very loud and busy. Not my favorite place on the island. But the shops down by the water were fabulous in Charlotte town.

I recently visited the Confederation Centre of the Arts in Charlottetown, and I was genuinely impressed. It’s such a unique place—part cultural hub, part architectural landmark, and full of Canadian history. The building itself really stands out. It was designed in the 1960s by a group of Canadian architects known as ARCOP, and it’s a great example of early Brutalist architecture in Canada. You’ll notice the raw concrete and bold geometric shapes right away, but what’s cool is how well it blends into its surroundings. There’s a big open plaza, and the way the building brings in natural light and connects indoor and outdoor spaces is really thoughtful. The Centre was built to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Charlottetown Conference, which helped shape the country, so there’s definitely a strong sense of national pride throughout the space. Inside, there’s an art gallery, performance halls, and of course the theatre that hosts Anne of Green Gables – The Musical, which has been running for decades. Whether you’re into architecture, Canadian history, or just want to see a good show or explore some art, this place has something for everyone. I’d definitely recommend a visit—and if you can, take a guided tour to learn more about the design and the story behind it.

Walked into Confederation Centre of the Arts and got the warmest welcome from a lovely lady at the ticket counter—turns out she’s 70 but looks 50! Her positive vibe (and constant hellos to everyone) must be her secret fountain of youth. She even explained each section after I bought my ticket—super helpful! 😄 The Indigenous people’s art exhibition was a highlight. It was captivating! Wished it was bigger—I could’ve lingered longer to soak in more. A gem with room to grow!

Cane here to watch Anne of Green Gables: The Musical. Fantastic show, engaging production. I'm not sure the Brutalist style fits in with Charlottetown but minor detail as the theatre itself has great seating and sound.

This theatre is top notch! Have seen: Anne of Green Gables, Telltale Harbor, Million Dollar Quartet. Their general staff are friendly, their production team creates breathtaking scenes props and effects, and the actors and directors create magic on stage. I am comparing this to the Mirvish production team in Toronto, and they hold up!

We went to go see Anne of Green Gables the musical. It had been a while since i’ve been to a live musical! The performers were amazing and the show was spectacular! However leaving the show was really disorganized and messy as well as during breaks. Everyone was shoving each other and when I was in line to get a drink during break this family butted in front of me, but hey there’s only so much the place can do! Overall, the staff was very friendly and the show is definitely worth to see! 👏🏻👏🏻

I’ve seen a few shows here. Ticket purchasing was easy. Getting into the theatre was efficient and staff were helpful getting me to my seat. The seats were comfy. The bathrooms were clean. I enjoyed each time I’ve been here.
