Le Naufrageur - Microbrasserie, Pub et Cantine Gourmande

$$$$affordable
Brewpub
Rustic microbrewery offering a diverse list of its house beers, plus live music some nights.
Excellent beers, and seemed very popular among locals and tourists alike. Food selection is small but perfect accompaniments for the drink selection, with fresh quality ingredients. We tried the mushroom tartare, then I had the lobster roll and my bf had the smash burger, we were really happy with all. There seems to be a lot of great options in town but I would def visit again.
Jessica B — Google review
Nice microbrewery located in Carleton-sur-mer. A wife variety of beers available on tap. We were here during a heat wave, so the kitchen was closed during our visit. Only sold cold items. Fresh and local.
Bryce S — Google review
Wonderful microbrewery. Cool relaxed atmosphere. Board games available. Beer to buy to drink or buy to bring. Nice choice of beers. Tried and loved Munchen and Tanaisie. Hubby tried and loved Colborne. They even have a little store where one can acquire t-shirts, sweats and other branded clothing and accessories.
Catherine ( — Google review
The place is fun. Their beer is good and the food. The place can get crowded so if you don’t like crow this is not your place. The food was good for a microbrasserie but they closed the kitchen early. I took the shrimp pizza and was delicious 😋
Claudia — Google review
Averall a goid experience, but the choice of food was limited and not impressive. It was good but nothing special. The attmosphere was welcoming. The cantean is self service. Thank you !
Daniela B — Google review
Quick service, wonderful selection of beer made there. Food was very well done, just slightly pricey but well worth it. Everything we got was very good.
Kurt B — Google review
Known for its choice of beers, good for late bite, not much of main meal choices. Their menu is not as advertised as on the website- please refer to the restaurant menu. Staff friendly and very efficient. Bathroom is clean and over all we had a good time.
Moni M — Google review
Great place, friendly staff and a huge variety of beers. I had a taster for the season beers and a great shrimp pizza. And of course i picked up some beers at the store after. =))

Gaspesie Museum

Mentioned on

History museum
Museums
The Gaspe Museum of Gaspesie is a must-visit destination in Gaspe, offering insights into the local history with surprising facts. The museum presents a beautiful architectural design and is surrounded by a park featuring historical monuments and public art. Visitors are encouraged to explore all the materials presented in the museum and take a leisurely walk along the shore if weather permits.
A great museum to learn the history of the Gaspesie region. They've the last surviving Gaspesienne class boat on display outside (including damage from an unfortunate fire) and multiple exhibitions inside. These cover the history of the region starting from the Mig'maq First Nations and their encounters with the Europeans (incl. Jacques Cartier) to successive waves of French and English colonization culminating in the modern state of the peninsula. In addition to the expected displays on the centrepieces of local history (e.g. the cod industry, its associated techniques / vessels and its global impact), they also had displays on lesser known topics such as a local ghost ship legend and contingency plans for the Royal Navy to retreat to Gaspe in case the Germans took the British Isles in WW2. They also have a souvenir shop featuring books (incl. a few titles in English), candles, glassware, clothing and woodwork by locals. Would definitely recommend a visit for everyone interested in history. Take the time to go through and read all the displays. Make sure to double check the hours as they vary by season.
Taha Z — Google review
Great little museum! We went on a rainy day and it was a bit busy but there was no wait. The museum has a nice layout and is very informative.
Amanda K — Google review
A great first stop to get oriented. Very knowledgeable guide offered clear and detailed explanations of artifacts and outdoors art installations. Large parking area. Elevators and very clean restrooms.
Gary C — Google review
There was a lot of amazing Canadian history to be found here! Lots of early Quebecois knowledge, and history. Mentions of First Nations, French, English, and Vikings which is fascinating. VR video experience of early fishing, as well as many other ways to second hand experience the fishing industry of early Canada.
Nikki-lee B — Google review
Excellent local museum takes about an hour, most information is English and French, virtual reality headsets were good, I only wish they actually caught some fish
John L — Google review
Friendly staff, bilingual, excellent exhibits, 4 stars because the ship is closed off due to a fire.
Don G — Google review
Talked a lot about Indigenous nation, very interesting & sad history at the same time. They have interactive videos as well.
Mushi D — Google review
Must visit to see the history of Gaspese. Beautiful visuals, stunning audio video and interactive media to bring the story alive. And a store to help buy local made artifacts. Great location, status and garden with more art displays.

Forillon National Park

National park
Nature & Parks
Forillon National Park, situated at the outer tip of the Gaspe Peninsula, offers a diverse range of experiences by the sea, cliffs, and forest. Visitors can enjoy strolling along beaches, snorkeling to discover vibrant underwater flora and fauna, and witnessing breathtaking sunrises at the beach. The park provides ready-to-camp facilities with all necessary amenities for a hassle-free camping experience. Additionally, it features opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing, and water sports.
Beautiful park with really well taken care of spots. I stayed in the North Site section B and all of the sites were well groomed and all seemed like well picked layouts. Additionally, this section has brand new washrooms and they are heads and tails above what I have ever seen at any campground - way to go. Campground washrooms and showers don’t have to be gross - they’ve figured that out here!

Great place for great things to do. Trials, beach, whale watch and many other things to do. Very beautiful place. Two entrances, North and South. Mont Saint Albert trial is the best. You can see the top tower from down and climb up and see the spectacular 360 degree view. You you drive further to 132 you will see the light house also.
A M — Google review
We camped here for several days and were very impressed. A standout highlight among many on a 19 day swing through the province. Superb interpretation and facilities. More than worthy of being known as a "National Park." I really appreciated that the expropriated residents were included in the park interpretation. We camped here and thought that the facilities were excellent and great value.
Snowshoe D — Google review
Our family visited this park on Jul 4 and did a hike to cap-Gaspé trail. It is an 8km hike with elevation. It's absolutely worth the effort! Mesmerizing views of water, mountains, and trees. Picture can not depict the actual beauty of the view. In the end, when we reached Le bout du monde (Light tower), we were able to see whale in the middle of Ocean and seals at the shore. That was quite a view!
Ali S — Google review
The pass for the park is valid for 24 hours and eligible for multiple points and entry. Cap bon ami was the best point of attraction. Multiple points to visit with various activities at visitor center. Ample of parking spaces and washrooms are everywhere. Didn’t went on hike at bon ami because people returning back mentioned that it was very steep.
Amit B — Google review
One of the most beautiful parks I've seen in Quebec is a piece of paradise. It's a huge park, and each section offers a different activity. You can go kayaking, swim at Cap Aventure, or fish. There's also a historic area showing the traditional houses of the First Nations. The park offers various trails where you can hike or drive from one spot to another, stopping to explore along the way until you reach a dead end. At this must-see and must-visit place you have to do a moderated hike distance about 8.4 km round trip, positive elevation 287 m. you'll find Cap Gaspé where the Gaspè light house & the final tip of Quebec on the map. The view is breathtaking—you feel like you're at the edge of the world, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. I give this place a ten out of ten. I loved Gaspé because of this park.
Ghida K — Google review
LOVEEEEE THIS PARK! If you have a short time and you don’t mind climb a bit, highly recommend the north sector. CAP BON AMI and Mont Saint-Alban both have incredible mountain and ocean view. The hike to Mont Saint-Alban is challenge. For the south sector,I am a bit disapppointed for the Cap-Gaspé Lighthouse but Bout du Monde worth a walk. Dont try to do both trail at the same day, your legs will punish you the next day 😂.
Mandy B — Google review
Breathtaking views! Definitely a must visit national park if you are in the region! Amazing stunning huge coastal cliffs! A lot of potential wildlife encounters! We also got to see seals in the water from on top! The trail “Bout du Monde” or “Land’s End” is a must do!

Cime Aventure

Tours
Cime Aventures is an incredible camping destination, offering a variety of unique lodging options such as cozy lodges on stilts, cottages, teepees and yurts. This eco-conscious campground features isolated campsites with or without electricity. Its kayaking down the river is a must-try activity that comes with wet suits for colder weather conditions. The place provides an awesome experience even towards the end of the season when it's less crowded.
Wow!!! Such an amazing place. We did Canoe with family in the river. Crystal clear water and you can see through the ground. Completely safe to descending the river. They give all safety precautions which we need to follow. One of the amazing/must thing to do in Bonaventure. Enjoyed a lot!!! You have an option for 10 KM or 20 KM. It takes about 2-4 hours depends up on the break time etc…!!! The cost is also pretty decent. We did not do camp.
A M — Google review
This camping facility is incredible. My partner was 12 weeks pregnant at the time and the site was quite hard for the tent. The young guy at reception, Antoine, was more than happy to help and refunded for the site and suggested one of the small queen bed cabins which was very reasonably priced. Nothing was too much for Antoine, he helped out that evening and also the next day for our family canoe trip where we took our five year old daughter. We all loved the old school vibe and extremely high level of customer service. Also, the camp grounds are extremely quiet by the 11pm curfew and I even felt that by 8pm everyone was in bed or being quiet, super respectful crew :) We will return next time we visit my partner's family, I think better than a lot of my local Aussie camp grounds. Cheers

Highly recommend it! Went to do a family kayak excursion down the river. Had a great time, staff were very knowledgeable and friendly, they provided us with all the equipment needed. The river is crystal clear and the family portion is really easy to ho down. Staff took care of the equipment when we arrived at the base and we got bused back to the start after a very short wait.
AnaCody — Google review
River rafting was very well organized and the water was gorgeous, so worth the trip here. We were traveling with small children and it felt like a place more geared to the young adult crowd despite the website looking family friendly. A couple things could be improved- first of all there’s no dishwashing sink close to the cabins (we had a yurt) - there is only 1 for the entire campground and it requires a significant hike up a hill which is very inconvenient especially after dinner where it’s dark and kids need to be put to sleep . We are environmentally conscious and didn’t want to leave dishwater on the ground that could run into the river so ended up using our portable toilet to store it overnight. Also there was a music show right next to our yurt which was very loud pretty late (past 10 PM) which is not the peace and quiet we were hoping for and made it hard to get to sleep. Otherwise it’s very nice set up here.
Carole G — Google review
Friendly team working there and super nice guides. Just a disclaimer, take the cancellation ensurance and ask 24 to 48 hours about the water level. They won't tell you until you're there and you'll get the surprise of your life if the water level is too high due to recent rain. You won't see much of what's showing in the ads and pictures. It's still beautiful, and the adrenaline will flow through, but the nice calm, clear water, you won't see anything of it.
Ahmed ( — Google review
Awesome place. Amazing camping with lots of varieties of lodging. They have an eco-conscious atmosphere. With campgrounds that are isolated with and without electricity. We had the electricity option to heat our van during the night. It was cold in September so a good heater is a must. I must say that we went towards the end of the season. So.our experience was good because it wasn't as crowded. The kayaking down the river is definitely the highlight. We took the "popular" option and had an awesome time. They provide wet suits when it's colder. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay.
Michael ( — Google review
We descended the river with Cime Aventure and their guides. They offer important insight on how to navigate with ease the rapids. Super clean river with crystal water. The team really implements keeping the river intact and being courteous with the fishermen that we might cross as it is not uncommon to see floats of salmon. We stayed the night on their land and trust me, you cannot ask for more. Super children and pet friendly. It’s nice to see a clean place like this and seeing people being a good spirits. The owners were super welcoming and shed insight on their mission and company history. They explained to us how it was all created. Alsooooo they are environmentally conscious - they re-use their water for showers and bathrooms. A must see / go-to for everyone!
Chantelle B — Google review
Personally I liked the place first because the access they have to the clear water river is amazing and second the hippies style of the complete place. So if you are looking for fantasy luxury spa is not here. If you are here to connect with nature yes !

Bioparc de la Gaspésie

Zoo
Nature & Wildlife Areas
We absolutely loved this place. We were late and only had 45 minutes to explore but we had a blast. We went there on a workday so there weren't many people around. Small zoo with all the amenities. There is a gift shop at the entrance and you can rent the wagon if you need it. I think it was $3. The aquarium was great, especially the lower part where you can watch the seals swim. There is also a small children's play are which our kids loved.
Rashed E — Google review
Highly recommended, especially for families with kids! Bioparc de la Gaspésie is a great mix of discovery, observation, and interaction. We spent about two hours there, which was perfect for young children. We started with the wild animals, then visited the farm animals, followed by some fun at the parkour-style playground, and finally explored the insect section. The flow felt just right — not rushed, not too long. It’s well-organized and definitely worth the price. A fun and educational outing for the whole family!
张潇潇 — Google review
Very cool little road trip with family. Small park and unfortunately, we didn't make it in time to pet the farm animals as their rest is a weird time in the middle of the day for a few hours. Really cool experience despite it.
Cheyenne T — Google review
We visited as a family with a 4 yo. It was nice and it took us 2h to see all (including two of the animals feeding events: seals and elk). The paths are easy and they are sometimes beautiful. The were several things that made us give 4 stars. One was that the staff was a bit too keen on accelerating through the paths with their carts, leaving a cloud of dust behind, and with small children walking around it seemed unsafe. Other was that some animals were displayed behaviours of being enclosed (bears and seals) which is expected in small enclosures, but nowadays we would also expect better environment enrichment programs. I hope they get better at this. Another reason, although not as important, was the lack of a café/vending machine with food. We saw a vending machine with drinks, but that was all. After a long trip this is a very appreciated feature. Lastly, staff was nice and helpful and facilities were clean and practical.
Joana P — Google review
This is really a zoo that has a good variety of regional animals. The enclosures are spacious and the animals appear to be relaxed and healthy. The signage is in both French and English for the most part. However, none of the presentations during the feeding times were provided in both French and English. I realize that the Biodome is in an area where French is the working language. As English speaking tourists it would have been much more enjoyable to hear the presentations in English as well.
Hugh S — Google review
It was upsetting to see animals appearing restless and confined. One bear kept pacing in circles. Instead of feeling inspired, we left concerned for their well-being.
Chloe L — Google review
Very unique experience, also had a petting Zoo!
Ming L — Google review
Interesting to see the animals of the gaspe coast and love the fact that the zoo is a rescue facility for injured and abandoned animals. The enclosures have greatly improved over the years. A lovely family outing, enjoyed by adults and children.

Step back in time and experience the charm of the Magasin Général Historique Authentique 1928. The staff is dressed in attire from 1928, offering a guided tour that vividly portrays life in a general store during that era. The approximately 1.5-hour tour provides insight into the interactions and transactions typical of the time. With admission fees for adults and children, this historical gem offers an entertaining and educational experience for visitors of all ages.
Visiting the Magasin Général Historique Authentique 1928 in Percé, Quebec, was like stepping back in time to a charming era of simplicity and tradition. This historical gem is meticulously preserved to reflect the ambiance of a 1920s general store, offering an enriching experience that transports visitors to a bygone era. The staff at Magasin Général are truly exceptional. They play their roles with such enthusiasm and authenticity that you feel as if you’ve traveled back to the time when the store was originally in operation. Their cheerful demeanor and dedication to their characters make the visit not just a tour, but an immersive historical reenactment. It’s evident that they take great pride in their work, and their passion for history shines through in every interaction. One of the highlights of the visit is the history lessons provided by the staff. These lessons are not only informative but also delivered in a manner that is both engaging and enjoyable. The storytelling is vivid and captivating, painting a clear picture of life in the 1920s. Whether you’re a history buff or just someone with a casual interest in the past, you’ll find yourself thoroughly entertained and educated. Moreover, the admission price is remarkably low, especially considering the quality of the experience. For a modest fee, you gain access to a rich, interactive history lesson that is both educational and entertaining. It's a rare value in the realm of tourist attractions, where high prices often don’t guarantee a comparable level of engagement and enjoyment. In summary, the Magasin Général Historique Authentique 1928 is a must-visit for anyone traveling to Percé. It offers a unique and delightful journey into the past, made all the more special by its fantastic staff and well-preserved historical setting. I highly recommend it and give it a well-deserved 5 out of 5. This charming historical store is a true treasure, and it’s an experience you won’t want to miss.

I loved it! I came with my partner who doesn't speak French. Had to translate for him but he said he rly enjoyed it despite the language barrier. Love the humor and presentation. Also, the coke vending machine was super cool.

We truly enjoyed our visit today. Nicely animated. Quite entertaining. Our tour was in French. If you are in the area it is a must visit. It gives you perspective about life hasn't truly changed. When it comes to income versus cost of things. They are all so relevant.
Hera S — Google review
It was a very pleasant tour. The staff dress up as if in 1928, they took us around the store acting and explaining to us what would interactions be like in a general store in 1928. Its about 1.5 hour tour. Cost 13$ /adult , 6$ for kids 10 and under...not sure for teenagers if they have a price. Cash or debit only

National park
Outdoor Activities
Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé National Park is a must-visit destination with beautiful hiking areas and the world's second-largest Northern Gannet colony on nearby Bonaventure Island. The park also offers popular microbreweries and some of the best seafood restaurants in the region. The island is known for its stunning views and diverse sea animals, including grey and black seals.
A beautiful island filled with great trails and great scenery. If you go with young children there is one path recommended you take. The gift shop has strollers and carriers you can borrow but they are limited. Definitely recommend trying to get a stroller.
Tim N — Google review
To go to the island, we took a boat tour which was offered by les croisiere julien cloutier. $54/per adult, $25/per child. No reservation needed. It was an hour boat ride to the island and we got to see the Percé Rock from a pretty close distance. The boat went around the island to show the bird colony then we arrived at the island harber. I recommend purchasing the day pass online before your arrival to avoid waiting in line and max capacity. (Children free, adults $8.57) Prepare to walk for at least two hours. The shortest trails are 2 hrs total(there and back). Most of the time the trails are wide open and lack shade. Bring a lot of water!!! Also bring a packed lunch as food and water on the island are very expensive. We really enjoyed the walk. We took the longest trail around the island, Sentier le chemin du Roy (3 hr easy-moderate walk) . Less busy and beautiful ocean views. We saw multiple seals at Bull's Cove. We went counter-clockwise around the island, you will start the trail in the sun but end it in the shade, this is the better choice as temperatures will rise later into the day.(you will have to go up stairs though) The bird colony was impressive!!(And smelly) It was a real National Geographic experience. I recommend going earlier in the morning. We caught a 9:00 am boat and 2:30 pm return boat. The parking lot is $12.50/ day.
Tomo — Google review
Very nice hike, not too hard, not too long. You got the chance to see wildlife as well which is pretty unique. Well see the Fou the bassan colony and some harbor seal it was pretty nice. The view is very nice too. I highly recommend this if you are passing by. There is some historic information about the former people who lived there back in the days.

Flagship tourist spot on the Gaspe Peninsula, a must see! From Wikipedia: “Percé Rock (French: Rocher Percé, meaning "pierced rock") is a huge sheer rock formation in the Gulf of Saint Lawrence on the tip of the Gaspé Peninsula in Québec, Canada, off Percé Bay. Percé Rock appears from a distance like a ship under sail. It is one of the world's largest natural arches located in water and is considered a geologically and historically rich natural icon of Quebec. It is a major attraction in the Gaspésie region” The park is very busy during the summer months. You want to be there early to get on the boat that’ll take you to the Bonaventure Island, do some hiking and sightseeing and come back. The trails on the island close at about 3 pm in August. We had a lazy stroll along the coast, there are various seating spots along the shore, and many businesses offering seafood, ice creams, beers and live music and many other tourist attractions. The boardwalk is beautiful and accessible. At low tides, the rock is approachable by foot, but you cannot climb the rock since it’s now protected. It’s just a massive rock formation that makes one humbled. Recommend.
Jing L — Google review
Very unique pebble beach, full of live shells and other life. The high lookout point is owned by some local who will charge you $2 per person to go up, and honest there's no reason to. You can walk all the way to the rock via the beach from north side, however park warden will not let you go all the way unless during low tide even though path is clear. There's a municipal lookout point next to 132 to the south that overlook the entire rock.
Jie Z — Google review
It’s an island for hikers. It’s worth it for it views and sea animals. You will see so many grey and black seals around this island. NOTE: best time to visit more seals is last week of September, because it’s time for mating. There are three main hikes on this island. One is for almost 2 km one way, and other two are for 2.3, and 2.6 Kms. It’s only to see bird colonies that are on the top of the island. But if you want to see them not so closely, you will still be able to see them from the cruise. Overall, you will experience breathtaking views.

Quaint town and absolutely stunning scenery. We weren't able to get to Perce Rock because there weren't any boats available and it was high tide, but we walked down to the beach and got as close as we could. Definitely worth a visit, but we were happy we stayed in Gaspé so we'd be closer to Parc National Forillon.
David S — Google review
The tour to get there is a nice extra as they get us closer to the Rocher Percé and the borders of the Bonaventure island. Watching all fauna around (birds, seals) is very breathtaking. We even get to see some killer whales (I think it was them, but I'm not sure). On the island, there's a small restaurant which is convenient if you don't have a snack ready. The trails are a bit ordinary, but depending on the ones you take, you'll get better views. All trails lead to a close-up of a spectacular gannets gathering, and the birds seem okay with humans presence! My only grip is that waiting for a boat to return to the continent might take a while.

Percé Rock, a 433-meter-long limestone formation with a natural arch, is a must-see attraction in Quebec's Gaspé Peninsula. Accessible via a sandy trail at low tide, it rises dramatically from the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The area also features Bonaventure Island, known for its gannet colony and diverse birdlife. While the newly built boardwalk offers fantastic views, some visitors feel that the region has become overly commercialized.
Wow 😎beautiful place to visit at least once in a lifetime! Definitely recommend to take that road trip to visit this unique place, has plenty of parking and has amenities such as shower to take for 25 cent 1 min of shower.

One of the most beautiful places I have travelled to!! We went 2 years ago and came back again the following year with friends they told us they never seen such a gorgeous place and people were friendly and tried to speak English!!

Never disappoints, lively down, very much a tourist trap but love it just the same. Didn't see any whales from shore this trip but have on other occasions. Early June some of the restaurants not opened as yet.

So here is the thing about the Percé rock: About 70 years ago, a guy lends his car keys to his wife. She gets in, backs off the truck out of the driveway and slams the rear into what was then an unknown rock. Follows the tumble of about 100 000 000 lbs of rocks and therefore the freaking hole in the rock. Since then, millions of tourists have flocked to the said « Percé Rock » to celebrate precarious driving. There you go, that’s how a local self-taught geologist introduced me to the origins of the famous rock.! Besides that, people at Percé are nice and the food is good. Cheers ! The sincere truth and locals’ jokes apart, there is something special or magical about the Percé rock when you stand in front of it at sea level. It feels like a humbling force of nature. More to this, when exiting Percé northbound, do experiment the roads in the nearby hills; I had a blast riding them on my motorcycle !

It was an awesome experience while going down to near the rock… not all the time we can visit very near to the rock… only if it is no moon week then you can try or else there is full of water… but this is amazing and spectacular view from walking adjacent to the rock… its an experience!!

This place is awesome for a weekend stroll. I went there with my wife and the kids, and it was amazing. The view was great, plus there are all those cool shops and restaurants around. I think they have something going on every weekend afternoon (I'm not positive), but there was a singer, and everyone was watching and dancing. You can grab food and drinks while you enjoy the view or watch the show. Looking forward for more.

Museums
The Village Historique Acadien in New Brunswick offers a captivating journey into the history and culture of the Acadian people. This open-air living museum features original 1800s houses and knowledgeable resident guides, creating an immersive experience that brings to life the daily activities and traditions of Acadians between 1770 and 1949. As you stroll through the village, you'll encounter over 40 historic buildings, including a replica of the famous Hotel Chateau Albert from Caraquet.
I visited this place during the summer, and the experience was truly fascinating. All the houses are displayed in chronological order, so as you explore, you gradually move forward in time, with the buildings and technology becoming more modern. This progression leaves a deep impression. The staff bring the experience to life with vivid performances, speaking fluent English or French as they portray their roles, and they are more than happy to answer your questions. If you plan to stay overnight, consider booking a room at the hotel in the center of the park—it offers an equally unforgettable experience.

Travel back in time for a day or two by visiting the Acadian Historic Village. (The passes are valid for two days) Visitors of all ages will find something interesting to see or do. For an extra fee, you can rent a motorized 4-wheeled scooter for people with reduced mobility. Nice gift shop and café at the main building.

This is a huge outdoor cultural museum with tons of employees to guide you through the many period trades and buildings. Staying in the turn of the century hotel (very authentic) adds an even more magical experience as you have the park to yourself after closing time - great for a long sunset walk. The admission price is very affordable especially considering the number of employees it takes to bring this place to life.

The Miscou Island Lighthouse, situated at the northeastern tip of New Brunswick, is a must-visit destination. The area offers hiking trails and the opportunity to explore a working lighthouse. Visitors can ascend to the top for panoramic views of the surrounding coastal beauty.

If you're looking for a delightful way to spend a few hours with the family, the Shippagan Aquarium & Marine Centre is an excellent choice. This charming aquarium showcases a variety of local marine life, including salmon, sturgeon, and blue lobsters. One of the highlights is the interactive touch tank where visitors can get up close with crabs and sea cucumbers. The open-air seal tank offers an entertaining view of playful seals just feet away from you!
Wonderful spot. Grandchildren had a great time. They really loved the lobsters, jellyfish,& The seal show.
Hazel C — Google review
For the price I would say this was worth going to however it was quite small. I expected there to be more to see and do but it was still nice. There is one seal and there is a "touch table" set up in a cool little area with things you can touch in water such as starfish, some larger snails and lobster etc. There is a theater room which was neat. The dock outside is nice to sit at and look out at the ocean.
Sk H — Google review
Very nice little aquarium for the littles. It took around an hour to go through and look at all the exhibits. The poor seal outside, by itself was a sad site to see but other then that. Beautiful spot. Please go eat at the cafe right next-door. It was amazing!
Rebecca C — Google review
The gift shop is full of beautiful souvenirs & the aquarium is nice! Small, given that it focuses on local marine life. I would have rated higher if the seal had a better enclosure. Her enclosure is a small pool with zero enrichment, and she is alone. She spent the 10 minutes we were there swimming in circles around the pool.
Ashley D — Google review
As someone from Toronto.who has experienced the Ripley's Aquarium, this aquarium was very underwhelming. There are only maybe 15 tanks with aquatic life and a single seal outside. The seal had no interactive toys to play with and was literally just swimming in circles - in very green water. The largest fish was a sturgeon, so don't expect to see any sharks or anything like that. The have an auditorium with hourly shows, we watched one on in-shore fisherman.
Sar C — Google review
Great aquarium to take your kids to. Doesn't take too long to get through it though. Still fun.
Mike P — Google review
Really nice and well maintained aquarium , mainly for educational and kids but still interesting also for adults.
Giancarlo C — Google review
There’s an impressive variety of fish species to explore, and watching the seals play and feed in the water was a highlight. The touch tank offered a unique opportunity to interact with smaller marine creatures, which was a lot of fun. The gift shop is filled with local arts and crafts, making it a great spot to find unique souvenirs. Overall, we had a fantastic time!

Ritchie Wharf Park is a delightful waterfront destination nestled in the charming town of Miramichi. Visitors can stroll along the scenic boardwalk, where they’ll find an array of eateries offering delicious bites and refreshing drinks. The park's unique shipwreck-inspired structures add to its charm, making it an intriguing spot for families and solo travelers alike.
The 90 minutes boat ride was a do-not-miss activity. Great history, a bit if gossip and some legends. The tour guide was polished and easy to listen to. A wonderful way to enjoy some time on the water and explore the Miramichi. Ice cream afterwards was the perfect ending.

Time and time again, I was amazed at how much Miramichi can pack into such tiny areas and Richie Wharf Park was no exception. As the name would suggest, it is right Ong the water and has incredible views throughout. However, it also has restaurants, a cocktail bar, snack shops, a playground, mini lighthouse, mock ship sails, river boat tours and historical buildings with a gift shop and mini museum. It's a great place for everyone. Bring your dogs, kids, family members or just yourselves. You'll love it.

Most interesting unique free park jewel in the area! My family and I did a "pit stop" at this place during our Maritimes road trip in Jul 2023. We loved this park which had quite an interesting statue-like structure theme in the shape of a ship wreck. Located on the far east of Newcastle, I followed carefully the directions which was spot on. The park had an assortment of things to do: playground, picnic & benches to sit down, docks, lovely sightseeing into the riverfront, and fast-food and beverage options at reasonable prices. What caught our attention was the free open-air mini concerts: down-to-earth kind of musicians showing off their Acadian heritage through songs for which I enjoyed. I highly recommend this well-maintained place.

Beautiful waterfront park with amazing playground! Wish the swings were up right now, since it's May, but the weather has been awful so I guess they're waiting til it gets a bit nicer. I hope there's a baby swing when they do put them up :) we just moved from Montreal and are so happy to find a park that's as nice and awesome as the ones we were spoiled with back in QC! Can't wait to come back when all the shops are open!

Le Pays de la Sagouine in New Brunswick is a theatrical village that brings to life the Acadian culture depicted in over 40 novels by author Antonine Maillet. The reconstructed fishing village showcases the daily life of La Sagouine, an uneducated washerwoman known for her candidness. Visitors can enjoy various performances, including plays, dance, and music as they explore the different buildings.
My review here is for Akadi Lumina, not just Pays de la Sagouine. Akadi Lumina is beautiful. It is a light show with music, and narrative storytelling, along with projection and nature. It's beautiful.

I had heard about it, felt the need to go and was disappointed. Its a tiny man made island with sketches from the acadians. There is live music, and lots of actors walking around. I wouldnt go back.
Martine — Google review
Well worth the visit just to look at everything and experience the vibe! However I think it's worth brushing up on your French in order to better understand it - there is lots that you miss if you don't understand what the actors are saying. At the same time I would hope there could be some optionality with the languages (e.g. they could grab a quick consensus in the room to see if anyone would like to hear a song or performance in English) - I feel this would help spread the word further about Acadian culture. Who knows - may visit again in the future if ever I learn French!
Tom — Google review
Loved connecting to our cultural roots. I especially enjoyed Mitilda's kitchen and the explanation about Acadian French and the deportation. The shows are very entertaining and music is great! We stayed for supper on the Terrace and had live music, a rainbow, eagles flying over and sun peaking through the clouds. It was a magical experience!
Doctor C — Google review
Le Pays de la Sagouine is more than just a tourist attraction — it's an immersive cultural experience that celebrates Acadian identity with humor, heart, and music. We laughed, we learned, and we left with a deeper appreciation for this rich heritage. A fantastic day trip for families, and one we’d definitely recommend to others visiting New Brunswick. The village is set on a small island connected by a boardwalk, surrounded by water and marshland. It’s peaceful and picturesque, and we took some beautiful family photos by the water. Our kids had a blast exploring the wooden boardwalks and watching the interactive shows. There were storytelling sessions, music, dancing, and even some hands-on workshops that let them experience Acadian culture in a fun and engaging way.
Dharmesh V — Google review
We had a great morning here. Make sure you check the schedule for the language of the presentations, which are excellent, the history of Acadia presentation in the hangar was my highlight. The site is easy to explore on your own, and it's accessible. The site is split into two sections, the 'land' and the 'island', the activities on the land were excellent, the island felt like it needed some love, and that there was nothing happening except for a singing/dance performance in French. There are houses that you can go in and explore, but zero information about what they represent, the time period, or the significance of the building. There also appears to be a cooking section, which was also abandoned when we visited. There is food available on site, it's fairly expensive and the choices on the island are mainly fried. Please bring a water bottle, the only water to purchase was an $11 reusable water bottle. Is it good value for money? I wouldn't say for the $70 it cost my family of 4 to enter that it was. Would I recommend that you visit? If you understand some French, yes. If you don't speak any, then I would have a hard time doing so. The response I got was fair, and if they made it clear and explained that the locations would be manned (maybe a little clock with a return time, or a sign at the entrance of the building) then I would say that it's a great visit.
Chris W — Google review
This place was an absolute joyful evening on the Terrace with good food and music! The view is amazing, the sunset is phenomenal. We will definitely be going back with friends, fun night, no cost to get in , just a relaxing time with friends and has the Acadian vibe which we enjoyed! Will definitely be going back! 5* for sure!

The West Point Lighthouse Museum, a striking 5-story structure built in 1875, now houses history exhibits and guest rooms with scenic views. The four-star hotel inside the 69-foot lighthouse features 13 rooms with breathtaking views of the Northumberland Strait, some with walk-out decks.
I cannot rave about this stay more! This was our first time in PEI and we started our trip off at this location! What a great start to the trip! The motel felt like I was in a movie. Going to sleep listening to the waves and waking up to being steps from the ocean from our room… what more could you ask for! The room was clean and charming, pretty standard hotel room. We didn’t know it included breakfast in the stay so that was a nice little perk! The breakfast was good, and there was different options. Having access to the lighthouse museum anytime was also great! It is a stunning one! The staff were so friendly and made the check in easy even when we arrived late at night! If you want to have a great and unique stay, this is the place!

Wow! We absolutely loved our stay here. It was the highlight of our entire trip. We stayed in a second floor room and managed to arrive just in time to watch the sunset from the balcony. Truly a magical experience. We visited the museum in the evening. It’s extremely well laid out and so much information is provided. We got up early the next morning and climbed to the top of the lighthouse and got to watch the sunset rise over the island. Then to top it all off, we were treated to a lovely home cooked breakfast included with our stay. Our whole experience was an amazing experience and will remain a core memory for us for years to come. Thank you so much for taking such great care of us during our visit.

Our first visit to PEI for my husband and I. We jumped at the chance to stay at a lighthouse in a remote part of the island. Stayed for one night. The lighthouse itself and the museum are impressive. The property faces west which provides for an unbelievable sunset right from our balcony. The room itself was average size and very clean. Appreciated having hardwood floors and not carpet. Furniture in great shape, good lighting, small refrig in room. Ample seating inside the room as well as the balcony for two. Homemade breakfast, fresh eggs, toast, biscuits, delectable coffee, just like at home. Had good dinner at Lighthouse Willy’s, back to our room within an hour just in time for an unbelievable sunset. Walked the beach 2m one way, water was warm for mid-September. Saw a seal from the beach. Heard the waves and gazed at the stars. Highly recommend. Don’t know of many places you can experience this tranquility.

Oct 1/25 we stayed for one night. It was a unique experience. The sound of the ocean outside our room was calming and tranquil, that I will not soon forget. Of interest, the Inn and the local seaside restaurant, Lighthouse Willy's Restaurant, a mile away are owned, maintained and operated by local community people. The light house museum is well worth the effort, as are the almost 100 steps to get to the top. Few places on this earth can provide this quality of beauty and solitude.....make it part of your travel experience while visiting PEI.

This inn should be on everyone’s bucket list. We were touring the East coast trying to be spontaneous and found all the hotels booked, then I saw West Point light house inn. Service was great. Beds were comfy. Breakfast was delicious. It felt like a bed and breakfast. We did a sunrise walk on the beach. Watched the sunset on our balcony. My only regret is not staying longer. I will be back!

My family stayed for three nights: Rooms were amazing, beds comfortable, breakfast did not disappoint, beach access is great, staff is friendly but not intrusive, just a beautiful spot. Would absolutely recommend and will return. The museum is interesting, and feels authentic. St Marks Ceilidh on Thursday nights is nearby and offers an amazing musical experience if your schedule allows for it.

A great experience. We were in the Keepers Quarters. It is a real museum. A few times I opened the door and people asked if I was the manager. Unique location. Spent 2 nights here. Staff were very friendly. Down to earth. I think the Lighthouse and the restaurant in town, are owned and moderated by the community which I think is terrific. There are 2 rooms in the lighthouse and quite a few more in and adjacent motel. The lighthouse is very photogenic as a lot of souvenirs across P.E.I. can attest to.

Staying in a lighthouse was a unique experience . The sunset and the constant sound of waves added to the experience . Absolutely recommend . The rooms were well maintained . Breakfast was provided and was great. You may want to plan for an early dinner if you plan to stay for the night though. There aren’t many options nearby and the one diner close to the lighthouse is a hit and miss , not much of a service .

I was confused about the assigned seating they established, no one told me prior to boarding the ship, and I sat down at a table, but apparently, there was a sticky note at the end of the table telling you were to sit. I would encourage them to let us know prior to boarding to reduce confusion and movement on the boat itself. I enjoyed meeting new people at our assigned table, and learning about lobster fishing and eating in this area. They made it interactive and asked for volunteers through the process. The Lobster and potato salad were delicious. It's a fun event to do if you're in the area. They have alternative meal options if you do not wish to eat lobster.

The boat tour was good. I'm rating it a 4 because I feel it could've been better. The skit was funny as usual but it felt rehearsed and not natural. I'm sure with enough practice he'll get better. Lobster delicious as always, staff very friendly as always and the comraderie between staff felt and enjoyed.

Very informative cruise. Great and friendly staff. Judson was a very great guide. Helped understand how to eat a lobster without wasting a bit of meat while also providing a funny and informative trip. Definitely a cruise to put on your bucket list especially if you love lobster and to laugh a little!:)

Our group did a private charter for a company event and we had the most amazing time ! The Food was delicious ( steak and Lobster), the tour was phenomenal , we got a great view of Parlee Beach and we even seen a Moose on Shediac Island! Thanks Dennis and staff you did a great job !

Matthew, our instructor for the cruise was amazing. His knowledge of the lobstering industry was formidable but was overshadowed by his entertaining and engaging performance. The bar /waitress service and boat handling were above and beyond. I'd never had cold whole lobster before but it was delicious without the usual butter etc. All the food and wine was above what you might expect for this type of experience. No lobster pot was left untended in providing a completely enjoyable experience. Thank you to captain and crew.
Donna P — Google review
We just loved the tour. Although the bay was a bit choppy, our minds were put at ease by the captain who, if he didn't have THIS occupation, he should have been a stand-up comedian! He was such a character! The food was fantastic! I didn't realize how much lobster I'd been wasting before hearing his expert instructions on how to tackle a lobster dinner! I'm embarrassed because I'm Acadian and should have known how to take apart a lobster! Highly recommended!

Marché Dieppe Market is a bustling place on Saturdays, offering an opportunity to discover the local produce and goods of Dieppe. With two floors of vendors, visitors can explore and indulge in handmade treats while supporting local businesses. While it may get crowded, arriving before 10:30 am can provide a more relaxed experience. The market offers a variety of items, including low-sugar pastries from Jemmy Gourmet and other delicious food offerings.
Love this farmers market. So busy when my lovely wife Pat and I went this past Saturday. There are so many lovely smells, sights and sounds. We both enjoyed our meals obtained at two different vendors. Capped it off with a delicious treat shared at one of many food stalls. We did pick up a few items for home use. We arrived just before noon and parking was difficult. One vehicle pulls away and another quickly fills that space. Many vehicles are idling while waiting for a spot to open up. Suggest getting there early or simply be prepared to have your driver walk a bit. Transit would be the ideal method of hassle free attendance. Be prepared for a lineup at any great venue. We gave up on finding seating to eat our meal. Wound up eating while seated in our car. It was great to see this place back to its old self. Back to the pre-COVID days. This is a reminder to please mask up if having any symptoms or worry about catching anything since attendance was elbow to elbow while we were there this past Mar 8, 2025.

Love this place! So many options to choose from. Gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, dairy free, specialty cuisine, fresh produce, baked goods, cheeses, crafts, music, and great people and atmosphere. A go to destination to fulfill all your needs and wants.

I got such a great collection of fresh vegetables, cheese, pate, bread, and lunch at the market. Everything was so fresh and beautiful. Highly recommend the lobster omlette i got, though i now can't recall the name of the restaurant! On the furthest wall, just two spots up from the indoor eating area. Look at this fun bread!! 😍
Kassandra P — Google review
I only go there mostly for Jemmy Gourmet lol, it's probably the only place I'd buy pastries from for their low-sugar pastries and how good they are. Items at the market can be quite pricy, so spend your money wisely. Food is decent, but can be expensive at some stalls. There are nice treats sold here though so if you ever want to treat yourself to something fancy, try the pastries at Jemmy Gourmet, chocolate or whatever else the market has in store!

In Moncton for a visit. Went to this market on a Saturday morning to look around and explore the area. The place is not very big but there are a lot of vendors in there and it is interesting to see what the local sells and the varieties of fresh produces and other stuff. It took me about 30 mins to scan through the entire area. The place is really packed with people and cars lining up to find a place to park. Recommend going before 10:30am before the huge crowd arrived. Overall, a good experience.

Garden
The Bottle Houses and Gardens, located in the Wellington region, are a unique attraction featuring colorful houses made of over 25,000 recycled glass bottles. Since 1980, this eco-friendly project has expanded to include eight buildings such as houses, a tavern, a chapel, and a gift shop. The walls of these structures are crafted from bottles cemented together in beautiful designs that create a stunning display when light shines through them.
The history behind this destination is heartwarming. If you really take your time, enjoy each feature, you will not be disappointed. The love this father had for his family while creating these dream bottle houses is so amazing. And the gardens - incredible. They have also created a special area for people to enjoy a picnic - complete with blankets and life sized versions of board games. We could have stayed here all day, a highlight of our trip to the island.

A fascinating place with beautiful architecture made by locals- and a lovely garden and gift shop. If I lived near by I would come to just sit in the garden and have a picnic, but it was a neat visit to walk through all the buildings: see chapel, several houses, and the old lighthouse too! It was a really neat spot and not too busy for a morning visit. Would come again.
Marsh W — Google review
Absolutely stunning gardens so well maintained. The gardeners deserve a raise. I could sit in those gardens for hours. Now on to the bottle houses. Super creative and you can see the labour of love went into each building, the work would require imminent patience. Each building is super creative. Loved them all. A must see when visiting the Island❤️

This place was so amazing. It was so cool to see all the houses made of bottles, and was just so beautiful. Theres quite a few things to check out. It is a relatively small area and I believe admission is 12$? But it’s so worth it. And it’s beautiful there. I could have spent hours. They also have a gift shop with many cute little trinkets and things. I highly recommend everyone who debates checking it out to do it.
Natalie C — Google review
Very nice set of buildings using just bottles, which is very unique. The fee as of today is 10 dollars for adults and 9 dollars for seniors. Several thousands of bottles are used and they very beautifully used for a very picturesque small buildings. There are three different buildings inside. There's also a miniature lighthouse at the far end. There is also beautiful garden inside the campus. They have "no paws on the ground " policy. So you need to carry your pets inside. They also have strollers. This place is at the western end of the island so expect to drive around an hour and half from the bridge or downtown. But definitely worth a visit to this unique place
Rengesh K — Google review
Absolutely beautiful gardens and fun bottle house walk through. The only thing missing was some tea and tasty treats. It is $10 to explore the gardens and bottle houses and there is a well curated gift shop at the entrance.

The Bottle Houses were amazing! We didn’t have this place on our list, but it showed up on the map while we were visiting Cape Egmont Lighthouse. We enjoyed it so much, it was raining, but that made it even more special as we walked around with our umbrellas. We highly recommend this stop! I also found a pair of beautiful earrings in the shop that I brought home with me. The gardens are gorgeous, and the houses themselves are truly beautiful.
Julieta C — Google review
This place is super cool, even if it's a bit out of the way, depending on where you're staying on PEI it's definitely not near most of the other attractions you're looking to see. Also go see it right away. There is a real estate sign out in front of it, which means they're selling it. It might not even be a thing in a year or so so get out there. Take a look. It's cool. I wish that they would put big allergen lights on the inside of each one of these structures and light them up at night cuz it's that would just be so cool looking from the outside. And if they like put up some barbecues somewhere in the property where people could rent out and tent out while they grilled and after the sun went down these structures would be all luminous and that would be so awesome and totally worth $140 booking. Just saying

Nestled in the heart of Prince Edward Island, The College of Piping and Celtic Performing Arts Centre stands as a unique cultural gem, being North America's only year-round institution dedicated to this vibrant art form. Visitors can immerse themselves in the exhilarating Highland Storm summer production, which showcases an impressive array of highland dance, bagpipers, drummers, and step dancers.
World 🌎 Class Facility 👏 👌 Was fortunate enough to have enjoyed a performance of A Christmas 🎄 Carol Dec 2022 This to me was a live performance of A Christmas Carol, and my thoughts were, this is the performance you get after a two-year shutdown due to covid-19. 90% of the actors have succumbed to covid-19 and the immunologically strong 2 cast members have survived, and during quarantine they have had ample time to have learned every part and all of their lines. And in the spirit of entertainment, The Show Must Go On! The two remaining cast members deliver a spirited and memorable performance! Five star from every angle, standing ovation! Consider myself extremely fortunate to be able to witness the efforts of these two performers and how they held the audience's attention in the palms of their hands for 2 hours. Bringing it to a crescendo of emotion and joyful seasonal celebration! Bravo and hats off to the both of you! Hope this is helpful!

My family and I saw the Highland Storm show tonight. What an amazing performance by all of the young women and men. The singing and the dancing was spectacular. There was singing, drumming, dancing, and lots of wonderful instruments.
Kristin D — Google review
Highland Storm started off great. Then the city lost power.. the performers did their absolute best to fill the gap while we waited hopefully for the power to be restored. They pulled out all the stops.. we got to enjoy some dancing, piping, drums, songs and other instruments. Unfortunately, the show could not go on as the power did not return.. I'm basing my rating solely on the professionalism, optimism and commitment of the performers. We were offered refunds or were invited back for another viewing should we be inclined . Looking forward to seeing the rest of the show tomorrow!
Mikella D — Google review
What a great experience to learn what is taught at a Piping school and the parts of a bag pipe. The newer, attached auditorium is well suited for concerts and competitions. Most topics were covered except for the “straight face” vs smiling of the performers.

We took in this show on a whim and thoroughly enjoyed it. The music! Bagpipes, drumming, singing, tap and dancing combined to immerse us in sight and sound and the story of Scot’s coming to the Island. I found the lighting a little odd and dark at times but it didn’t detract from the excellence of the performance.

I can not recommend this venue highly enough. Exceptional! I finally went to a show last night and was incredibly impressed with the audio quality, the seating (every seat is a good seat), the friendly & helpful staff who go above and beyond, and most of all the professionalism of this top notch performing arts centre. It was obvious from just one show that the passionate and personable director Peter Gallant is gifted at what he does. Will definitely be back!

Cavendish Campground, located in Prince Edward Island National Park, offers a variety of accommodations in a stunning beachfront setting. The campground provides basic amenities such as restrooms, showers, RV hookups, and fire pits. It is an ideal spot for beachside camping with easy access to the famous red sand beaches of Prince Edward Island. Visitors can enjoy activities like hiking and biking along wind-sculpted sand dunes and taking in the breathtaking ocean views.
Very nice pull-through sites for RVs. Shrubs and younger trees now give privacy after 2019 storm damage left an open campground. Great beach and nice trail to ocean view point. Downside: no dogs allowed on beaches anywhere for the tourist season.
Jack R — Google review
If you want to explore PEI, this is a convenient location from which to do it. And it’s a national park, so that alone is enough to get you here. From a big rig perspective, pullthru sites are long enough, but narrow. Most of them offer good privacy. Hookups were in good condition, no problems there. We didn’t use bathrooms, but did try to use laundry which is very well used. That has to be a challenge for the park to maintain. If you are in a small rig, you can choose a site closer to beach but you won’t have much privacy. 2019 hurricane really did a number, check out the before and after photos I included, showing the pullthru site we were on. Loved the beach area, such a wonderful park experience.
Constance M — Google review
So picturesque sunsets and sunrises here, beautiful shoreline, amazing waves. But be prepared for the fact that there is almost no privacy, just a couple of trees on all sides. If you book a cabin like we did, make sure to have small grill or stove to prepare some meals, there is no grill on the side.

Clean bathroom and shower area.Atea is perfect.Windy if you're planning to use a tent or tarp.Staff are really friendly.Firewood costs around $10 amd they will give you a sack and you just refill it. Its near the beach area.A must place to visit in PEI.Definitely a bang for the buck.

Beautiful beach. Campsite impeccably clean with well maintained fire pit and picnic table. Quiet. Good playground for kids -lots of fun. Facilities are well maintained and very clean. When you enter campsite, lots of dead wood and rather small trees. I believe this is the result of a hurricane a few years ago. I would still recommend - we had a small camper and got a site by the beach :). Lots of seashell on beach! P.s. Staff is amazing! When we got to our site around 4pm, the previous camper had not left, tent still on site. Not sure what staff did but when we returned around 6pm, tent was no longer there without any issues for us.
P B — Google review
Over good spot but you can tell the park took a big hit from the last two storms, not much privacy and higher winds then before. We had to take our tent down and leave two days early cause the site was too windy. There was also no wood to purchase at the park so make sure to come prepared. Bathrooms were overall really clean!

This is a great place to camp. We had all the hookups for our Airstream. The sunset walks on the beach were amazing. The campground is close to the Cavendish area attractions.

UNFORTUNATELY...Hurricane Fiona in 2022 truly caused so much devastation at this park, it will take a very long time to recover. There are not a lot of standing trees left. Other than the beautiful views along the shoreline, I was very disappointed in the Park. Most campsites are small, with little if any privacy, and there seemed to be little concern for the noise levels of other campers after quiet time. In addition, many campsites are surrounded by poison ivy. Mine was one of them. As a result, my 2 dogs had to spend most of thier time either in the truck, or in the bed of the truck to keep them safe from it.

Whether you're there for a peaceful stroll or a day of relaxation, Cavendish Beach is a must-visit on Prince Edward Island. Truly a slice of paradise!

OMG! The first thing impressing is jellyfish in the ocean close to the coast. It is not that deep or warm you can swim, but you can walk by jellyfish. Somebody showed me how to pick them up by hand, and I did. No danger, it is new experience, DO IT : ) I liked there was shower and changing room after getting wet in the ocean, which they were clean and organized. Coastal sand was soft, and some folk using it for sunbathing. Overall, picturesque environment also due to red sandstone cliffs. There is lifeguard during the summer time for swimming (July & August). Finally, strongly recommended!
Nima M — Google review
Stunning beach! Large parking, facilities (bathroom, changing rooms, showers, outdoors showers and small cafe). Fee but well worth it. Boardwalk that also leads you to beach, accessible to wheelchair. Lifeguards. It gets a bit crowded, but you can easily walk away to have a more peaceful space. Bring your shade tent and picnic and you will have a great time! Beautiful scenery. be sure to visit even if for just a stroll on beach.
P B — Google review
This beach was nice and clean, with unique red sands. We visited on a Sunday afternoon, and though it was quite busy, there was still plenty of space for us. The water was clean, shallow, and warm—perfect for a family outing with kids. There were showers on-site to wash off on the way back, which was convenient, and free parking was available as well. I enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend this beach.
Shora D — Google review
The entrance to the beach is paid, and there is ample parking. There are changing rooms, WC, a clean wooden pier to the beach, and a foot shower. The beach is sandy, but the entrance to the water is rocky and sometimes slippery due to algae. There is a kelp smell. The water seemed cool, and the water was clear. Overall, it was a great, clean place to stay! I recommend it!
Natalya K — Google review
Beautiful sand beach lined with large sand dunes with with distinct red sandstone cliffs. Well maintained boardwalks with natural pond areas and wildflower meadows, we were visiting as Hurricane Lee arrived so the were lots of dramatic crashing waves and strong winds… still beautiful though. The shower / washrooms were well maintained and incredibly clean. The only downside was that a few areas were tapped off due to walkways being broken and broken information signs.
Jamie H — Google review
Had a really enjoyable time here. Nice facilities that were clean when we were there. I think a 4.5 is a better rating as the beach is quite rocky and hard to enjoy for swimming. That said the sandcastle making was lots of fun. Overall beautiful views, just keep in mind the trees in the area show evidence of the hurricanes that have come through. Also, check out the Sunset and Stars hike put on by Canada Parks.

This was an absolutely beautiful visit! The beach is gorgeous and it's nice to see the sand dunes! Although, the water is absolutely freezing so be prepared! The beach is big with lots of space so if you want privacy you can move further down the beach. You can walk down the trail nearby and visit other parts of the beach further away which is nice to see as well.

Avonlea Village is a charming destination that pays homage to the author of 'Anne of Green Gables.' Once described as a mini theme park, it has transformed into a free outdoor shopping area with various restaurants and tourist shops. While the costumed characters are no longer present, visitors can still explore the streets of Anne's fictional village.
A beautiful little village that's easy to walk around and grab a bite at several of its restaurants. It also has the Cows outlet and several art and craft stores, as well as the Anne of Green Gables store. The sign at the entrance rightfully brags that Avonlea Village has the best places to eat in PEI, and they're right. Moo Moo BBQ and Cows are definitely one of the best BBQ and ice-cream you can find anywhere, let alone on an island such as PEI. With plenty of free parking, a wonderful atmosphere and a great selection of shops and restaurants, Avonlea Village is a must visit spot in PEI.

Lots of great food options - Lone Oak brewery (check out my review), Piatto pizza, Turkey Tavern, etc. There is also a Cows ice cream. Plenty of free parking. The buildings are rustic and interesting. Nice to walk around.

As the name suggests wonderful meals of different types of prepared turkey. I had the hot turkey sandwich and my wife ordered the turkey salad sandwich. Both orders were delicious. One of the best meals we've had in PEI. If you're in the area it's a must stop for a meal.

A very nice place for lunch, but very small if you are going just to walk around and see the village. Only a handful of restaurants and gift shops here. Beautiful flowers 🌹
Zoe N — Google review
Just a tourist trap. No real history. Pretty much closed after the main season (closed in September). Basically a collection of restaurants in building made to look like a historic village. The exception is the Turkey Tavern which was still open and served up excellent turkey options.

It was a lovely mock town of Avonlea, would have been so much better if it was open! Next time we’ll travel during summer months.
Monique D — Google review
Honestly was pretty disappointed. I know it’s end of the season for PEI, however we were there the second busiest weekend on PEI and pretty much everything besides 2 restaurants were closed. Which is crazy to me considering it was still hot and had a ton of tourists there that weekend. A lot of which were going to the grounds directly beside Avonlea village, so you think they’d stay open for all that traffic. There was also only one gift shop open and the prices were exorbitant. I’m sure this is better during peak season but I won’t be returning, honestly not really even worth it. There are much better things on pei to see.

Green Gables Heritage Place is a charming and historic site that served as the inspiration for the beloved book 'Anne of Green Gables.' This UNESCO World Heritage Site in Prince Edward Island offers tours of the quaint farmhouse, lush gardens, and rolling hills that transport visitors back to the 19th century world of Anne. The farmhouse has been transformed into a museum with period furnishings and artifacts, creating an immersive experience for fans of Lucy Maud Montgomery's work.
Really enjoyed our morning exploring all things Anne. The museum is lovely and engaging. The house and staff were great. We were there a day when actors were around dressed as characters. We loved this treat! We did the haunted woods walk with my two young kids and the length/sights were perfect. They were really engaged in the scavenger hunt. Def a highlight of a visit to the island.

A Place That Truly Feels Like Magic 👒🧺✨ Visiting Green Gables Heritage Place was an absolute dream come true. If you’ve ever read Anne of Green Gables or just love stepping into a storybook, this place makes you feel like you’re walking straight into the pages. The house is beautifully kept, full of charming little details that bring Anne’s world to life. Every room feels like it has a story to tell, and it’s so easy to imagine Anne running down the stairs or gazing out the window. The grounds are just as magical. Walking the paths, breathing in that fresh PEI air, and seeing the gardens and landscapes that inspired L.M. Montgomery—it all feels surreal. The staff were welcoming and knowledgeable, and the whole place carries this sense of nostalgia and wonder. Whether you’re a lifelong fan of Anne or just someone who enjoys history and beautiful places, this is an absolute must-visit. I left with a full heart, a camera roll full of memories, and a new appreciation for the simple magic of storytelling. P.S. I hid a painted rock outside the house—happy hunting! 🎨🪨

Beautiful museum with a nice and easy trail around the house. However, the visit was quite short since I’m not a fan and didn’t know about the story. You can read all the descriptive texts in the exhibition in less than 20 minutes, and the house visit was also short and super packed with other tourists.

Yes. If you’ve read the books, it’s worth it. It is “delightful when your imaginations come alive.” Walk through the house that inspired the setting of the story, Lovers Lane and the Haunted Wood. The visitors center was also lovely and had a LMM signature ink stamp that I put in my book. This Cherry Cordial can be found all over the island but we tried it here of course! When I got home I turned the bottle-cap into a fridge magnet. And although not in the book, the beavertails were worth the wait

A Truly Charming Family Experience! Our family had such a wonderful time visiting Green Gables Heritage Place! From the moment we arrived, everything was well organized — even the parking area was easy to access, with helpful staff guiding visitors and making sure everything went smoothly. It truly felt like stepping right into Anne of Green Gables — the house, the gardens, and the trails were all beautiful and peaceful. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, happily answering questions and sharing stories that made the place come alive. If you’re someone who loves novels, especially Lucy Maud Montgomery’s works, this place is absolutely worth your precious time. It’s a must-visit attraction filled with history, beauty, and heartwarming charm for the whole family. ❤️

Our group had a lovely time. A beautiful home with quite a few artifacts from the late 1800s/early 1900s. Now it is quite a short visit but make sure to make the walk over to the site where she lived through the haunted woods (not really haunted). There is a bookstore and when you purchase your Anne books you get a stamped signature of Lucy M. Montgomery, a nice added tough you don’t get anywhere else.
Monique D — Google review
This is truly one of the most beautiful and historically significant sites in Prince Edward Island. The house offers a fascinating glimpse into life during the Victorian era, reflecting both the elegance and the hardships of that time. The interior is thoughtfully preserved, with authentic artifacts that are beautifully displayed and exceptionally well maintained. Beyond the historical charm, the surrounding scenery is simply breathtaking. The walk along the “Lover’s Lane” trail is especially enchanting, with its vibrant colors, lush greenery, and serene atmosphere. It’s a perfect blend of history, culture, and natural beauty — a must-visit for anyone exploring PEI.
Faiq K — Google review
Compared to other sites on the island this one felt less connected to L.M Montgomery and much more like just a tourist location. Being able to walk Lucy's Lovers Lane that inspired Anne's lovers lane was super interesting as well as walking up through the hunted woods to her grandparents house were L.M Montgomery spent most of her child really solidified the land marks of Anne's life. The small museum at the beginning is really interesting with reviews from the year the boom came out at a time line of L.M Montgomerys life and writing career I really enjoyed reading all of that but all in all compared to other Anne and L.M.M Sites on PEI it lacks magic.

Had a wonderful kayaking experience with Baymount outdoor adventures. While I have kayaked before it was the first time sea kayaking. The guide made sure we had a safe and enjoyable trip. It was an amazing experience kayaking amongst the rock formations that I had walked under just hours before.
Pratibha B — Google review
This was such a great tour! We went earlier in the day at low tide and walked amongst all the rock formations. We then came back in the evening for the high tide tour to kayak the same area. It was so cool to imagine we were walking on the ocean floor just a few hours prior! It’s an entirely different landscape. The guides were great. I hadn’t kayaked in some time and they helped get me sorted and more comfortable. They told stories of some of the history of the area which was interesting to hear. We even saw a seal off in the distance!
Jessica L — Google review
I highly recommend it during high tide to kayak through the rocks and see them up close. The tour was educational and fun. Staff were friendly, funny, knowledgeable and very safe. Kayaks are very stable and all equipment is provided, even a dry bag. 100% worth it.
Ash S — Google review
We went kayaking here on a recent family vacation and it was the highlight of our trip. Getting to see the effect of the tides up close was so cool. All of the guides were incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about the park. They shared a lot of interesting information with us about the Bay of Fundy during the excursion. They took our safety very seriously and made everyone feel very comfortable, even those who had never kayaked before. They were also happy to take photos for us and give us further recommendations for things to see in the area. I would highly recommend kayaking here, it was absolutely worth the price.

We had a great time with Brad & Olivia. It was quite windy during the day but they predicted the weather perfectly. Once we were out on the water conditions improved and everyone throughly enjoyed the time together. Great history lesson and got some paddling tips. Even got to see a moose trapped on the beach at high tide.

We loved it!! 💧 Emily and the rest of the crew are top notch. First off, the tour is inclusive, giving instructions in both English and French. Secondly, safety is definitely a priority......not just in giving initial instructions, but all throughout our adventure.....ongoing guidance, checkins, and reminders. We had a steering issue that was assessed and fixed right away. Finally, the Baymount crew is wonderful!.....friendly, kind, fun, knowledgeable, & very welcoming. 10/10 we definitely recommend!

First of all, great guides who made sure we were safe and gave us a lot of info about the rocks. Equipment was top notch. We all had 2 up kayaks, which gave us more power against the waves going around one point.

Had such an incredible experience! Great way to explore the Hopewell/Flower Pot Rocks! Even in windy and wavy conditions, I had the best time! The team were incredible and very transparent and informative. I felt very safe. There were lots of stops and I leant a lot about the area. Would highly recommend!

Nestled in the charming town of Sackville, the Sackville Waterfowl Park is a must-visit for nature enthusiasts and wildlife watchers alike. This picturesque park features three kilometers of meandering boardwalks and trails that provide ample opportunities to observe an array of wildlife, including adorable ducklings, playful muskrats, and various marsh birds.
Waterfowl Park in Sackville... Sackville Waterfowl Park is a 55-acre park situated in the center of Sackville. Great place to take a stroll. Beautiful boardwalks with benches and an observation deck for observing the marsh fauna and birds. Recommend for all seasons

Walking Trail around the Lake. Quiet place for Contemplation. Perfect place for relaxing and working out after a hard day. Highly recommend it. "Enjoy the silence" Well-designed boardwalk.

Great little outdoor wetlands hideaway to see lots of waterfowl, birds of prey, reptiles, amphibians and even fish. A great spot to let go of stresses and embrace nature like the wild creatures we are. Boardwalks surround much of the body of water. Several kilometers of trails, named after local biodiversity, it's a tidy little ecosystem in and of itself. I recommend anyone able to visit do so. There are picnic tables and benches along some of the pathways to give your feet, knees, hips and back a break along the way.

Sackville waterfowl park was SO amazing that we had to go back the next day! Saw lots of new birds including a Cedar Waxwing, yellow warbler, ducks (can’t recall the name, but they were special). Very easily to walk. I’ll be going back!

A wonderful place to go for a walk. Very few people around. We brought our two Dachshund puppies, and they enjoyed the visit too. The paths are in great shape and the place is exceptionally clean.

Amazing!! A must see for sure. The combination of trails and elevated deck that cuts through the marsh is oncredibley well done. Great way to be unobtrusive to the natural settings and provide great views and an easy walk. Very clean with no litter!

This is a delightful little park to walk around. Lots of water fowl to see as you stroll along the paths. The paths also lead you just outside of the downtown area, so it's easy to grab a nice coffee and bite to eat just before or after entering the park. Great place to stretch your legs, as the park is located just off the highway.
James — Google review
The boardwalks that go over the marsh are great for watching wild life. The current one way rules are silly, it's outside and there's plenty of space to pass by. It also means to do all the board walks your have to go around in circles.

Sights & Landmarks
The Confederation Bridge, the world's largest bridge over icy waters, has connected Prince Edward Island to New Brunswick since 1997. Spanning a length of eight miles, it is an impressive engineering marvel. On the New Brunswick side, visitors can explore the Cape Jourimain National Wildlife Area with its diverse ecosystems and abundant bird species. Travelers have the option to drive across the bridge for a toll fee or take a more economical shuttle to access the park. This 12.
It's a beautiful drive across whether it's day or night !! The sunset is extremely beautiful from the bridge , I had the opportunity to visit the base of the bridge on my ATV , all I can say is look at the pictures!! All from the PEI side of the bridge!!
RocketRob 4 — Google review
so cool to finally cross this amazing engineering marvel. It is the longest bridge in the world that crosses ice-covered water. A very unique 13km drive.
Joe C — Google review
Amazing bridge with the length about 12 kms. to PEI. But I feel the photos that take from the light house will be more beautiful than going on the bridge.
SURAPA K — Google review
The longest bridge we’d ever drove on. What a beautiful bridge, the view from the side is incredible! Stopped in a grabbed some bridge souvenirs at the visitor centre on the PEI side
Monique D — Google review
Felt great after having a look of this beautiful bridge last weekend on our trip to maritimes from toronto. Must visit place once in a lifetime ❤️
Parveer G — Google review
The Confederation Bridge is definitely quite the sight. Standing at 12.9 km, this is the longest bridge in Canada and arguably one of the most scenic as well. I’ve taken both the ferry and the bridge to P.E.I and this is so much more scenic and beautiful. Even on a weekend and with construction on the bridge, it wasn’t that busy at all. Even when traffic got heavy, the views made it worth it. The only reason I docked a star off this review is because of the toll you have to pay on the way out of the island. You pay a $50 toll for a car which is kind of insane. For visitors and tourists it may not be so bad for a one time thing, but from what I understand, even residents of P.E.I have to pay the same $50 toll every time they leave which seems very unfair. All in all, it’s a very scenic way of getting to P.E.I and is a nice experience. Not bad for a once in a lifetime kinda of thing.

First time on the Island PEI ! Definitely recommend it ! The beaches are beautiful, I would recommend going to the provincial park... Cows Ice-cream store ! We went to Fin Folk restaurant, AMAZING 👏 fresh sea food platter and smash burgers ! The view is amazing.. the tide was going out at the time we were there! Saw a crab trying to burrow in the wet sand !

I'am sorry to say I wanted to drive over it but my wife said no way when we got within 500mts. Extraordinary engineering fete , beautiful bridge. $20 return fee. So we ended up driving down to the ferry south of Truro which was a great 75mins. Return cost was $45, had lunch aboard.

Amazing experience and very beginner friendly. Paul is very kind and helpful in guiding us through. We kayak out for 35 mins, clam digging for more than an hour, then kayak back in and Paul will cook lunch. Total time is around 4 hours. Paul's red clam chowder is exceptional in quality. We also get to bring home half dozen of clam for dinner. Love you Paul!
Tan L — Google review
The kayaking & clam dig was the best adventure we did during our time on PEI. So much fun! You kayak out to the sand bar, dig for clams, & then Paul whips up a clam chowder with the days findings. His recipe is coconut (lactose intolerant friendly) & tomato based, which is unusual/different, but seriously so good. There isn’t much of a social media presence for his business, so if you want to book just give the number from the website a call and book the old fashion way. This specific tour only goes out once a day (at low tide) and only certain days of the month based on tide timing. Highly recommend for a half day adventure!

My wife and I rented SUP for the first time and really enjoyed the experience. Paul and his staff member were great to deal with, good instructions and very reasonable cost. Beautiful location!

What an incredible afternoon!! Paul and his wonderfully friendly and engaging staff are simply the best. Our clam digging and kayaking adventure was perfection. We are so grateful for the memories that Paul and company helped us create. A must-do if you’re visiting the island!! Thanks, Paul!!

We did the kayak and clam dig, and we all loved it (including the pre-teen kids). Paul and his staff were friendly and helpful, and the clam chowder Paul cooked with our catch was delicious! This was a great way to spend some time on the water and getting to enjoy a truly fresh and local lunch.

Paul took our family on a very cool paddling adventure and taught us to dig for clams, and then made a delicious chowder with them. His staff were all lovely as well

My family and I did the afternoon tour with Sarah and we absolutely loved it. It was so beautiful, we enjoyed seeing the confederation bridge from the water. Sarah was a lovely guide, very personable. We will definitely return next year and try the clam bake tour.

Staff are awesome and enjoyed having a great chat! We have been to a few of her concerts and love her music! My wife's dream is to golf with Anne Murray. Wish I could make it happen 😊

Decided to visit Anne Murray centre in Springhill where she was born. I enjoy her music especially growing up as I am in my 60s now. The centre was interesting to look through and also view some videos and footage from TV and concerts. There was a really nice gift shop at the end which I bought earrings, postcards, and magnets. if you are an Anne Murray music fan, it was a great place to visit.

B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!!!! What an absolutely beautiful vineyard & winery! So happy got a chance to see it. Sampling of course the best part. Didn’t have much room to bring things back in suitcase so bought a bottle for family we were staying with. This place is magical!
Holly G — Google review
Took a picturesque drive to Jost. We sampled the newest wine and headed to the Cafe. We had the brushetta and the seafood chowder, both were absolutely delicious, the server was great. Honestly I am not a chowder person, but this was so light and creamy with whole shrimp and scallops. Never disappointed. Great afternoon.
Tina A — Google review
Very comfortable surroundings! Wine tasting experience fantastic! I would have preferred to have had a seat-there are none at the bar. Exemplary explanation of wines and grapes. Do you know Jost owns Gaspereaux and Mercator Vineyards?
Cynthia K — Google review
Okay so, I would give it a five but the seating was awful. Had to wait for a table because the tables sat 6-8 people and and they had diners of two seated at them. Definitely need to break up the tables as anything for less than 6 people was limited. Wine amazing, staff. Amazing. Vineyard beautiful grounds and the North shore of my beautiful province of Nova Scotia is a must see. Love Jost. Food was a 10.

Went for a wine tasting (6 of us) & a bite to eat 2 weeks ago. Nick was very attentive & went out of his way to welcome us. The wines were very good & the food was excellent. We all had the seafood chowder which was very yummy & the seafood gluten free pizza which was delicious. All staff were pleasant & helpful & addressed any questions we had. Will definitely go back again when visiting Nova Scotia next time.
