I visited three times while I lived in Newfoundland and loved it every time. It’s such a nice park whether one goes camping or stays in a hotel in Rocky Harbour. Western Brook Pond is truly amazing. It’s a ~700 km drive from St John’s and not too far from L’Anse aux Meadows. It’s such a wonderful place. I stayed at the Lomond site when camping.

I could spend only half a day. But I really needed much more. Comparing landscapes in AB, there are different ways you can go through the mountain and enjoy something! Camping, swimming, hiking, biking and maybe fishing @ some points, are the different things you can do in different zones. Even just driving is still great! There were some spots right beside the lakes with beautiful coast to stop by and get wet! Regarding wildlife, you may see caribou, porcupine, raccoon, coyote which can be a unique experience. Strongly recommended!

Such an amazing site with amazing viewpoints everywhere. Driving through the park is already an experience in itself as you have to concentrate on the road and avoid watching the sights you get. Parks Canada seems to have this place very well maintained on every level, roads, trails and cleanliness.

You have to visit to experience the untouched beauty of this magnificent national park situated on western coast of Newfoundland. Pictures and video just cannot do justice to its unparalleled beauty. You get the mountains,ocean,beach,sandbanks,fjords,culture, beautiful sunset and sunrises all rolled in one when you visit the national park. I say it's one of those places you should consider as a bucket list when exploring Canada.

11 days in this jewel of Canada made us dread going back to the U.S. Wonderful hikes without any crowds. September was a great time to be there. Such beautiful variety and peaceful. If you can only get to Newfoundland once, go here. The boat ride is worth the price.

One of the best national parks in the east. Can be challenging to get to but offers some amazing hikes, water activities and camping opportunities. Recommend the gros morne mountain, Western pond , tablelands and green garden hikes. Western pond can be confusing if you research online - Option 1: flat 3km hike to the pond. Option 2: 3 km hike + $65 ferry ride around the fjords Option 3: 3km hike + speed boat ride to the fjords + 17km all day strenuous hike. Option 3 is offered by bontour and they charge $320. Recommend 4-5 days to visit the park

A gorgeous day for a lighthouse tour. Alfred is very knowledgeable and was very accommodating in giving us explanations on everything. The best lighthouse tour I have ever been on.

Climb the 132 steps for the "point of love" (Amour means love). The top 30 steps are on two ladders. The interpreters stop every 10 stairs so it's not a difficult activity. It's a spectacular view from the 2nd tallest lighthouse in Canada! Also while climbing the tower, watch for fossils in the stone including a frog! Check out the displays on the second floor about shipwrecks, and crafts and dress up for kids.

Beautiful spot, Lots of history. Paid $6 per person and were unable to go up the tower as they had a tour bus with a crowd of people up there and they were closing in 20 minutes. If given the opportunity to go back I'd love to go up the tower

Amazing place to visit in NL. We were treated well by the advisor and he explained the history of the light house. It is the tallest in Atlantic Canada and tallest climb able light house in canada. The view from the tope is awesome

This is the tallest lighthouse in Atlantic Canada. We came to visit in early June and there were many icebergs and even a field of pack ice near the shores (there are some binoculars available). The lighthouse itself is interesting, with various exhibits about local history and culture (including even some natural history). There are some hands on activities, such as making a bracelet of Morse code and dressing up in vintage clothing. I liked how you can go up and see the top of the lighthouse.

Lots of history, the guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. The Labrador tea, jam and crackers were a bonus.

Easy trail for nice walk to something truly unique. Very informative.

Thrombolites are extremely rare fossil structures that are only found in a few places around the globe. This trail takes you over Marjorie Bridge and onward to a community of primitive lifeforms that will be sure to astound. If you're lucky, you'll even see icebergs in the distance. A wonderful spot to stretch your legs, don't pass it up!

Living rocks?! Very cool geology, and atmospheric viewing aided by constant wind 😉

I totally enjoyed seeing the Thrombolites. It’s something I never knew of until I found this place on Google maps. I’m really glad that I stopped. And, they are dog friendly.

I learned something today that I had never heard! Thrombolites! It is well worth the short walk for the learning adventure!

Accidentally run into this trail, what a bonus!

Just under 1 km walk to a remarkable 3.5 billion to 650 million year old organic feature found only here and Sharks Bay, Western Australia.

This is well worth a stop. Popcorn into the visitor centre for information and start walking. We found several of the endemic plants and some fossils. The information on the paleoeskimos was very enlightening.

Port au Choix is a small town located on the northwestern coast of Newfoundland along the Viking Trail, is known for its rich Indigenous history, archaeological significance, and scenic coastal landscapes. Point Riche Lighthouse is landmark of this area, with rugged cliffs and stunning coastal views. Port au Choix is home to several ancient Indigenous burial sites and settlements, dating back over 5,000 years. In 1960 it was listed as national historic site.

I am so glad I took the time to come out here the evening before I found a place to sleep in my van because the next day it was pouring rain and there was nothing to see. But you got to drive really slow if it's not raining the animals will be out they'll be lots of foxes they will come on the road right close to your car. I guess they're used to people feeding them. The reindeer you can take lots of pictures of them or caribou. I came out the next morning just to see the animals again before I left and it was raining and there was nothing to see. Beautiful place

definitely don't miss this and make sure to also go up to check out the lighthouse down the road. The exhibitions are awesome and informative and the visitor centre guides were exceptional and so sweet. We also saw Caribou!

Loved this. Ladies and a gentleman inside explained the site to us even though we were too early for the actual demonstration. Since they had a tour group this morning she had baked some bread earlier and offered us a hot drink and 2 large rolls with jam and butter ($12 usual price). 4 jams including squash berry blueberry raspberry. The gentleman Mr Jones entertained us with the accordion. Close to the other sites and such a lovely group of people!

Port au Choix National Historic Site – Where Nature and History Meet Port au Choix was nothing short of magical. The caribou were so close I was able to capture some of my most stunning wildlife photos yet, and the lighthouse provided the perfect historic backdrop for my shots. Just down the road, the visitor centre was staffed by some of the most respectful, polite, and knowledgeable people I’ve met—they answered every question I had about the land and its history with genuine passion. While the caribou get most of the attention (and they truly were the cherry on top), the coastal views, quiet shoreline, and peaceful hikes were every bit as captivating. It’s a place where history, wildlife, and natural beauty blend seamlessly—and one I’ll remember fondly for years.

Truly a place to visit if he's still working when you arrive. A gorgeous workshop with simply breathtaking pieces. We left with one we'll cherish forever.

Ben does some amazing things with wood. You have to drop by and have a look. His pieces tend to be large, so might be difficult to takeaway with you, but he will ship. Ben is also working on a book that may be ready in 2018.

Stopped in on a whim and are so glad we did!!!! The art was totally unique and Ben was there to give us all the history and some cute stories. Recommend a visit and the art is lovely.

$400 - $7000 for hand made souvenirs/art. This place is specifically for tourists willing to pay an arm, a leg and their first born for hanging pictures. There is bones from a whale leaning against the store on the outside.

Visited Ben's Studio last fall, lots of great crafts. Ben gave us a tour, enjoyed very much , Rene, Caro and Rachel Peters.

Ben is an amazing storyteller who happens to be an incredible artist!

100% worth the drive! - Not overly populated - Clean area - Magnificent views - Clean outhouses nearby Tip’s for Visitors: - Be courteous and respectful of those sitting by the rocks and those taking pictures. Take turns. - Wear hiking shoes for uneven rocky beach terrain

My kids loved this place and kept asking if we could go back. They spent a long time hopping between rocks, checking the tidal pools for life, and looking for fossils and interesting rocks.

We stopped of here around evening low tide and golden hour. It was a great time to view the arches. It was t too busy, yet those that were here all seemed to arrive around the same time. If you need to use the rest room, you’ll fin the outhouses in the upper parking lot.

It’s a beautiful area, but if you go before 5/15 all those arches will be covered by snow and do not attempt to go down to the beach, it’s easy down but very difficult to come back if snow is present.

Not wheelchair accessible. If one uses a cane, don't go alone. If one is unstable on their feet, don't go alone. Not a place hurry. Keep an eye on eachother. Stay together to stay safer.

One of my favorite provincial parks in existence. One can spend hours hear, relaxing by the water and appreciating the unique geological formation. The weathered rocks and serene environment make this place truly special. One of my favorites in Newfoundland! A great stop en route to the Labrador ferry!

Great place to enjoy the arch or caves on the gravel beach. It was created by erosion of wind and waves for millenium.

We attended Neddy Norris Night, a performance of local songs, music, stories and tales offered by Gros Morne Theater. The performers were clever and talented, they had good communication with the audience, the selections of material was appropriate for the audience, and the event was good value for money in a modern studio style facility. I recommend attending any performance offered by this Theater Group.

The Supper Club play had us LOFAO. Extremely well written and enacted. After we enjoyed the yummy dinner theater experience, we were blown away again by the Neddy show. Three exceptionally talented musicians performing songs and stories to perfection while using a wide variety of instruments. WOW! We hope to return many more seasons whenever possible.

We saw the performance "Falling Trees". It was very intriguing and intense. We really enjoyed the show. The performers were great. I would have liked to stay around for another show. I highly recommend.

We saw a great show at a marvellous venue. The Irish Descendants did a great show along with a group of local musicians called The Misfits. It was a wonderful evening of fun and music and a highlight of our visit to Newfoundland.

Went to Neddy Norris night in Cow Head - amazing show! Musical talent was amazing, the show was entertaining, couldn’t recomend enough if you’re in the area. The theatre is quite small but the act deserves a bigger space! Hopefully they are able to tour to bigger cities - this would be a hit even in Toronto!

We were luck enough to see "Our Eliza".....we were very excited about the quality, not only of the play, but also of the acting. The three actors created believable, relatable characters, and with only minor costume changes, were able to convey the characters at very different ages. The best theatre we've seen in a long while.

The two performances we attended were marvelous - very entertaining. Customer service during ticket purchases was professional and friendly. The food, drinks and attentive service at the dinner theatre was great. We had a wonderful evening.

Wonderful, a must do trip if you are touring the area. The easy walk to the boat took 30-40 minutes and a golf cart was available if the walk was too much. The geological explanations brought the whole majesty of the scenery into focus. The fjord was just amazing! the crew really made the whole trip come alive with information and stories. The weather was so kind to us that keeping cool was a challenge!

This was a wonderful 2 hour tour of the pond. Our two guides were informative and entertaining. The weather for us was windy and slightly cool. July 19, 2025. A windbreaker is recommended even on a hot summer day. Newfoundland never ceases to impress.

It’s the best way to see the pond or access the long range traverse so you have really no better option. For the price you pay for the boat tour I find it a bit ridiculous that you aren’t guaranteed a seat. We arrived early as we were told to do but were crammed outside on the front deck shoulder to shoulder with others and we were told our tour wasn’t even sold out. For a 2 hour ride this is not acceptable at this price point. They pack the boats as full as possible because they know people will tolerate it to see the sights. Unless you get a spot on the top deck (which is limited) you will either stand the entire time on the outside deck or sit inside and have no view. Our tour guides were fantastic and it’s a great experience to see the natural beauty but I’d recommend arriving up to an hour early if you don’t want to stand for 2 hours.

Absolutely loved the boat ride. Phenomenal scenery of the fjords and a number of water falls that we're still active. We were told most of them dry up by August. Walk to the terminal is about 30-40 mins, mostly easy walk and there's a golf cart available for $10 per person return. We didn't book the boat in advance but we're lucky to get the tickets, both boats were full

Reasonable price to see this spectacular glacier-created feature up close. The boat is sturdy, comfortable and the crew is friendly-and humorous/informative commentary as you're passing by features on the cliffs. We visited in late September and there was a Nor'easter wind blowing at the time. The first hour all the passengers were standing side by side on the front deck and the wind was at our back. The boat turned around for the return journey and after the wind picked up to about 60km/h, most everyone fled inside for cover. Wearing full rain gear helps because you start getting sprayed with watet unpredictably by waves striking the boat, and the wind is intense. If you're geared up and in the mood, it's a good time-especially when they start playing folk music on the speakers. One of the crew members, Glen kept us company. It was nice chatting with him and made me feel a bit better being out there, I imagine he was making sure nobody went overboard 🙂

We visited in the late summer as a family and had a spectacular experience! The Western Brook Pond tour was worth every penny, as our guide Jamie made it such an exceptional trip for us. He gave us so much information about the history of the landscape, fun facts about wildlife and historic events, and treated us to a spoon performance to Newfoundland music. We had such a great laugh as Jamie was funny and kept us all entertained the whole way. I’d say the only downside is that the boat can get a little packed, but it didn’t seem to matter where we sat, the views were all breathtaking. For a 2 hour tour, it’s well worth the money. If you plan on visiting Gros Morne park, I’d highly recommend taking a boat tour of the pond; it’s an unforgettable experience. Do pack a windbreak or raincoat as it can get windy. Also, there is about a 30-45 minute hike to the tour but it’s all flat and quite easy. A golf cart is available to shuttle passengers for 10$ (cash).

What an amazing boat trip. To see the fjords and learn that the sea water has been replaced with water so pure that electricity won’t conduct through it is wild! The scenery is gorgeous and the guides knowledgeable and very easy to interact with.

I’ve seen and done a lot of stuff in Newfoundland, but a boat tour of the fjords at Western Brook is in the top 3. Visually stunning. Nothing quite like it. Recommend that everyone do it at least once in their life.

Visiting Western Brook Pond was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our family. I went with my wife, our 1+ year-old daughter, and close family friends (with their kids aged 6 and 4). It was a day we’ll always treasure because of the breathtaking views and the joy of exploring nature together. Instead of walking the 3 km trail to the dock, we chose the shuttle service, which was very convenient and family-friendly, especially with young kids. From there, we boarded the 2-hour boat tour operated by BonTours. On our trip, we had the pleasure of meeting Jamie, Brad, and Christopher — the team onboard who made the experience exceptional. A special mention goes to Jamie, whose live commentary was superb; he explained the geology, history, and natural beauty of the fjord while patiently answering every question from curious visitors. The tour itself is absolutely mesmerizing. You float between massive billion-year-old cliffs of the Long Range Mountains, carved out by glaciers thousands of years ago. From above, waterfalls cascade nearly 2000 feet from hidden ponds on the plateau, tumbling into Gros Morne’s largest lake. The scale of the gorge is almost overwhelming — a dramatic reminder of how powerful glaciers once shaped this land. Western Brook Pond is not just a natural wonder, but also a geological treasure. Its diverse rock formations have helped scientists better understand plate tectonics, showing how ancient oceans closed and mountains were formed. We loved this tour! I would say it shouldn’t be missed.

The area is beautiful and a must see. I don’t think any one doing a tour could do a bad job because the surroundings are stunning. I didn’t think the guides on the tour we did were anything special, funny or entertaining but they gave some interesting facts from their script. The queuing was a mess. We got in line early on the off chance we could sit up top. One of the guides came along about 20 minutes before boarding to tell the front of the line something and the line moved to the side. However, when it came to boarding, two lines formed and people who had been way behind us were now in front. It wouldn’t be hard for them to organise this to avoid frustration. It also wouldn’t hurt to make sure people upstairs are making room for others.

Beautiful venue and the fjord is amazing. There is a 3 km walk in from the highway parking lot and it’s an easy walk but a bit dull and a gravel road rather than a scenic hike and be prepared for crazy wind. People line up an hour before boarding time presumably to get the top of the boat. We did not do that but did get an outside seat at the back of the boat which was fine but then be prepared to be hit by waves coming up over the floor and around your feet. The speaker system needs a sound warning just before the guide speaks so others hopefully quiet and listen. The boat Was so packed full that it was very hard to hear the guide. The information shared was great when I heard it. The wind over the water was super strong. In the fjord was lovely. The price was appropriate and the boat house does have washrooms and a bit of a shop for food and souvenirs.

Well worth pulling off the road to enjoy this lighthouse and the trails and views around the hillside. It’s a very photogenic lighthouse that you can capture from many different angles and perspectives. I totally enjoyed it. I did not tour the interior though it was open and available.

A very scenic location and lighthouse perched on side of cliff. Very nice museum to learn history of lighthouse. Very short walk from parking lot. Best views of lighthouse is on left side where there are several little trails to walk out near the water.

The guides are super excited and helpful. The lighthouse is still functional and therefore, restricted to the public. The inside is filled with history about the previous guards and the lighthouse's history. The trails around the lighthouse are well marked, short and easy to do.

What a nice little historical lighthouse. There is a little museum inside and scenic views all around. There are also a few hiking trails that take you to the rocky edge overlooking the water and down to a rocky cove.

Beautiful views of the coast. Lots of trails to explore that lead to unique lookouts. You can climb the rocks and stand right beside the lighthouse. It was really cool to check out after our boat tour through Western Brook Pond!

We came in late May. The hike is very beautiful but very long. A large portion of the hike is spent going down and then up again in a gully with no views. There were some interesting sights after you get pass the boring part, though. The coolest part of the hike is by far the herd of sheep grazing near the end of the trail. There is also a beach to relax for a bit before making the arduous journey back.

Great trail . Hard on knees for people who have weaker knees . It is beautiful and good trail.You got the chance to do a trail that give you the best of both worlds for mountains and sea. it a real gem to see.

Beautiful well maintained trail. About 5km walk from the top to the sea, can be steep for some segment. Plan enough water and time for the return as in the sun it can be hard.

A fair bit of work to get down to the water's edge, but this is where the hike shines. Nice beach walk and views both ways down the coast.

Amazing hike with very rewarding views at the end. They have recently redone the approach to the viewpoint so the trail is in great condition. The trail is a long descent to the ocean with beautiful views. Very rewarding views with the iconic red chairs and stairs to the beach. The incline on the return is steep and continous so make sure to save some energy for the way back.

WOW. Steep hike downhill means a strenuous uphill return, but but so worth it. You will hike through what felt like several mini biotopes as you descend to the beach. Sit at the edge of an oceanside cliff as you contemplate your life decisions that led you to the base of this mountain (that you now have to climb back up). Take the treacherous stairs down to the beach if you dare. Possibly my favorite hike of all time. This should probably be your first hike of the day if you're not used to this level of (uphill) hiking.

If you do one tour in Gros Morne, this is the one. Five stars, spectacular and a fairly easy walk and hike. It is long and rocky, stunningly beautiful. Pack a lunch and enjoy at the beach.

BonTour works with the Marine Station and offers a boat tour which including a guided tour of the Marine Station. We purchased tickets on line through BonTour. From the moment we boarded, Bridgette and Simone made us feel welcome with their warm, positive energy and enthusiasm for the marine environment. Their knowledge of the local aquatic species was truly impressive. We learned so much about the marine life in the area. They were engaging, professional, and made the whole tour both educational and fun. It’s clear they’re passionate about what they do, and their excitement was contagious. The station may be small but this package packs a punch for the cost. Great memory maker!

Amazimg location with fun for the whole family if you like marine life or great views. The touch tanks are fun, and I love that the specimens are collected and returned annually.

They had 2 blue lobsters and a 96 year old (estimated) lobster plus lots of other aquatic life. Staff were very informative.

We came for a visit at the end of June. We had the a very positive experience. The timing must have been just right, because we had about three students showing us around the place and telling us all about their facility and their marine animals. The ladies were very knowledgeable and supper friendly. We got to hold some star fish and crabs. Also pretty cool they put all their animals back into the ocean at the end of the season. If you are in the area I would highly recommend.

Neat place to see with lots of cool touch tanks, jelly fish, lobster etc. Some other interesting displays too.

This Marine Station has a lot of potential to draw a lot of tourist back for a 2nd visit. It has some amazing eye catching sea creatures what most people will never get to see elsewhere. The staff really need to get more training to provide the full potential of what this Marine Station can really be. The staff wasn't very engaged with their visitors which was kind of a disappointment to most of those whole made the long drip to learn more about our ocean life.

The Tablelands is one of the most extraordinary landscapes we’ve ever seen — unlike anywhere else in Newfoundland, or even Canada. Walking through this otherworldly terrain felt like stepping onto another planet. The landscape is dominated by rust-coloured peridotite rock, pushed up from deep within the Earth’s mantle half a billion years ago. Because the rock is low in nutrients and high in heavy metals, very few plants grow here, giving the place a stark, barren beauty. This is what makes the Tablelands a key site for understanding plate tectonics — proof of how ancient oceans closed and mountains formed. We visited with our family and friends, including young kids, and found the area surprisingly accessible. The Tablelands Trail is well-marked and not too challenging, making it a great spot to explore with children while still being deeply fascinating for adults. Along the way, the contrasting scenery — the orange-brown rocks of the Tablelands against the lush green valleys of Gros Morne — is simply breathtaking. What made our visit even more special was learning that the Tablelands played a role in Gros Morne being designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. Standing there, you feel like you’re touching a piece of Earth’s inner secrets. The Tablelands is a must-see when visiting Gros Morne. It’s not just a hike — it’s a walk across the Earth’s mantle, a rare chance to experience the planet’s geological history up close. Perfect for families, photographers, and anyone curious about the story of our planet.

Easy trail, except to go to the top of the mountains unfortunately I didn't do the difficult trail just the easy one, it took me 1h30 round-trip with magnificent photos taken as souvenirs. The landscapes, the view of the mountains are impressive wow! Also, don't forget to go to Trout River and all the beauty of nature around!

Both the 4km return short trail and the unmarked 14km hike to the top loop trail are amazing. Choose either one based on your mobility and weather condition and you won't regret it! The view is magnificent and the experience is unique. The hike to the top trail is quite dangerous, I'd suggest to have hiking companions and pay attention to the weather. We also found GPS based hiking apps quite useful to locate us on the official unmarked trail (e.g. park Canada app or something like Strava). Be sure to visit discovery center (preferably before the hike), not only it gives a lot of information on Tablelands, it also give the difference in rock composition between other regions of gros morne which we found very informative.

Bring plenty of water as there is no reprieve from the sun. Most of the path is groomed for easy walking, highly recommend venturing off once you hit the end of the path as recommended by their signage. Amazing colours, quite flat and easy walk even if kids/elderly/pregnant.

We got to see so many beautiful butterflies, some rest on us for a moment, there was also a person proving interesting information about the scorpions and stick bugs and also have those testing on our hands for moment, overall they have a great collection and the staff is pretty great.

The Insectarium is a must-see if you're on your way through to Gros Morne. They have an amazing butterfly garden that has you immersed in the world of butterflies. They also have an expansive collection of both mounted insects and live insects, some of which you can hold. There is no other place I have seen that is like this place. On top of that, the friendly and knowledgeable staff make the experience so much better.

Lots of really pretty butterflies in the butterfly house. If you stand still, you may get a butterfly land on you. There's also a level of the building filled with various insects, with live insects in tanks surrounded by dead specimens around the edge of the walls. The small upper level also has some live spiders in tanks. It normally closes at 6pm so get there early!

A very cool place to visit. I stopped in on a whim as I was making my way up to Gros Morne and glad I did. The collection of insects is amazing. Lots of information and really cool bugs to look at. Highly recommend if you're passing by.

We loved visiting the insectarium, the butterfly room is a huge hit! So many butterflies 🦋 The kids had so much fun and even held the stick bug, jungle nymph AND Liam the tarantula!

It's a decent beach. Maybe because I went on a Tuesday afternoon, not much was happening and the vibe was okayish. They have a volleyball court setup, so that's a win in my book! There are a few tables for picnics. There are also decent toilet facilities.

Pretty lake with a cozy, soft sand-bed that feels wonderful to walk on. The water is very clean and fresh too!

Interesting sand color and texture. Was VERY windy, we stayed to eat our lunch. "Accessible" path on sand to multiple picnic tables for wheelchairs.

Great place. Small beach near Deer Lake, very accessible. They have toys setup for the kids as well. So pleasant during summers.

We did the zip lining today in such beautiful weather. The staff were excellent and worked great together. They were so in unison with each other, always two at each end of the lines. The 9 lines were amazing especially over the waterfalls and the last one was epic. Very easy for people who don’t want to hike or climb up into platforms. They were platform to platform. Definitely would do again

We visited on August 27, 2025, with the 4 PM booking. When we arrived, it was pretty quiet, so it ended up being just the three of us with our two guides, Will and Will. What an adventure! These two were absolutely awesome—not only with their attention to safety but also with the comedy they brought along the way. It was incredible, and the lasting impression they left on me is something I’ll never forget. They mentioned a winter zip line—well, boys, I hope you’re both there to take us again. I really hope management passes this along, because you guys rock! Matt, Tam, and Corry

Was on Carnival Cruise, this was our tour for the day. They use 2 lines to hook 🪝 to so double safe. Beautiful waterfall to see each time. The workers were so kind, friendly, and informative. Would recommend them for Zip line or ski trips. Very professional. Proud of their land. Wish I could give them an extra hug. So fun. 1st time I've done this. 9 platforms. Price was great. By the 3rd platform I asked if I could run of the platform, woohoo, I did🎉

We are here in the summer for a wedding, during a water advisory (no fault of the property, of course). They have provided more than enough free bottled water to keep us going. We drove into Corner Brook for groceries and made most meals in our unit. The rooms are cleaned and restocked daily as required (keurig pods, tp, towels, etc.). The views from the top of Marble Mountain are incredible.

I recently moved to Newfoundland. Living in a camper with my two dogs. I needed a place I could park my trailer so I could get around to do the things I needed to. They let me stay in their big parking lot for 2 weeks until I could move to the property I ended up buying. Without their help I don't know if I could have accomplished what I needed to. Can't thank them enough.

Me and my husband had a good time zip lining to this place . The view is phenomenal . The staff are knowledgeable and they know what they are doing to make it enjoyable for the fist timer. I would recommend this to everyone.

Firstly, I would like to say that I haven't visited the resort in the winter. But....they seem to be not well prepared for the summer season. We had a group meeting in the main chalet and it wasn't a good experience. The noise level made it very difficult to be heard as I found myself and my coworkers shouting at times. It was too warm and the lighting made it difficult to see people's faces. Also, we had a banquet at the attached Bishops bar and restaurant and it was a terrible experience. It was so, so disorganized. Some people got their appetizers and mains together before most others got anything. A couple at my table waited over 1 1/2 hours for their meals. Also, the three fish tacos that I ordered had enough fish for one.....which I did! Maybe they took on more than they could handle but this definitely needs a lot of work. I will visit again before suggesting a visit, or not.

World Class Experience Our family recently booked lessons and a day skiing here at Marble. Everything from the rentals, instruction and food at the resort far surpassed our expectations. All of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The ski instructors Karen and Doris were especially notable for their skill and patience. Thank you ladies. We We didn’t get the names of the rental staff but they were also very helpful. It was our first visit to marble and we knew it would be busy as it was Sunday so we showed up early. We were delighted with our experience. They certainly have all of the customer service bases covered. Highly recommend.

The place is absolutely stunning, we only got to experience the two runs unfortunately as the weather wasn't cooperating! However, the views extraordinary, even from the lower slopes. Would have loved to see what these ranges have to offer at the top. The resort it's self is quaint and small but more connecting with people. Absolutely child friendly. However, caution on the vehicles you may lease/hire. They supply them with all season tyres. Which is completely unsafe for the conditions it can get like here. Thanks ☺️

Very interesting place, "guided" tour was informative. It's just the whale inside the building but it was still a cool stop. Your tickets are also good for the heritage house just down the street.

Overall it's nice little place. But you see it all in the picture too be honest but in order to go to another museum you buy the ticket here so might as well enjoy cost is five dollars. There's wifi. Bathrooms are fine too.

Kind of a cool little place. Small though so don't expect it to take a lot of time. There was a scavenger hunt there that kept the kiddos entertained for a bit.

Had the amazing experience getting to travel to Newfoundland to visit an old friend in Springdale and she took me all around the area stopping here at along the way. Found this neat magnetic block and I really wish I had bought a second one. I use it to stack magnetic coins at work for entertainment and it's really proven to be a great conversation starter, especially when I tell them how unique and far away it came from!

Clean, organized, well laid out shop but rather expensive. Totally understandable given the area and some of the items but definitely on the higher side. The lady working the front cash was quiet, didn’t overly interact and seemed to be a person of little words but either way was not rude or unkind. The view from the shop is impeccable and overlooks the beautiful mountains, water and private wharfs. Overall a very kitschy common souvenir shop atmosphere. Would go again.

Wow, been here on Newfoundland for a month now, it’s by far the best campground period. It’s an older facility that has been nicely updated. Quiet, relaxing, views cannot be beat. Was well worth the drive up to Leading Tickle!

This is THE cleanest park you will ever stay at. The showers are cleaned after every shower! The bathrooms are cleaned hourly and the grounds are spotless. Quiet, little park. BEAUTIFUL scenery, nice walking trails, beaches are black rock and sand, There are whales sometimes, Caplin roll on their beaches, great spot for kayaking, locals are super friendly, you can’t get a better campsite if you ask me.

Stunning setting to camp in a classic Newfoundland fishing village. We saw humpback whales a short 10-ish minute hike from our campsite, as well as countless crabs, starfish, etc. Clean bathrooms and showers, all very well cared for.

The most beautiful campsite I have ever visited. Our site was right on the ocean. The lady that was working (I didn’t catch her name) was extremely helpful and knowledgeable of the area. We will be back for sure!

A wonderful, staff friendly, shop with a few local handmade items. Too many cheap trinket items. I highly recommend though, the availability of a public washroom somewhere in the vicinity for the hundreds of visitors who stop by.

After lunch, we drove up the road to Long Point Lighthouse and after a walkabout, spotted and managed with ten minutes to closing to go into this quaint fudge and gift shop. Shelves filled with souvenirs and crafts of all kinds but I didn't take time to really browse. The fudge display must have had about a dozen flavours to choose from. I bought six different kinds - some with nuts and others with flavour like chocolate, maple and orange creamsicle. Each piece was a bite of creamy and soft heaven. A great place to stop but give yourself time to explore the shop - it will be worth it.

Wow so many choices and all so good! Try some of the out of the ordinary ones … they will surprise you! Service was excellent! Take home lasted as late night snacks for quite some time!

Important to note: entrance fee is five Canadian dollars - CASH ONLY. Originally built in 1915 as St. Peter’s third Anglican rectory, this historic building was transformed into a museum in 1973 to showcase Twillingate’s rich heritage. It’s a charming place filled with local antiques and stories. There’s a lot of time pieces that showcase Newfoundland’s history. This museum flows like a residential property bringing you through exhibits that show various types of industry and domestic activity. We got through the museum in about 45 minutes. I think there’s broader appeal to an older audience. May not be as interesting to kids or families. Worth a stop if you have some extra time in the charming town of Twillingate.

Interesting place to visit with a lot of memorabilia inside. The town is very pretty and I recommend walking around to take it all in.

Did a wine tasting here as part of a tour and it was a lot of fun! The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. Hubby and I got to each choose 5 wines to sample so we got to try 10 and enjoyed it immensely! Wound up ordering a case of 12 to be shipped to Ontario ($39.99 for shipping which we thought was very reasonable). Cannot wait for our wine to arrive!

Interesting wine. Berry and plant based vs traditional grape. Did the tasting with Adriana and had a great time chatting with her and another solo traveller. It's a comfortable space, very friendly atmosphere and the food at the restaurant is tasty.

We stumbled upon the Auk Winery last minute as we stayed a short night in Twillingate and we had a fantastic time. Adriana walked us through an awesome tour of the Auk Island Winery and wine tasting. She was very educational and gave us a grate taste of the Newfie ways! Zach also led us through a great screech-in! He made a daunting, cod-kissing moment, an enjoyable and memorable experience! Would highly recommend it if in Twillingate!

We stopped here in Aug 2025 and did a wine tasting with Adriana. She is great! Very friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend stopping in.

Really tasty food at a good price. We discovered also two local red wines -Fifthy shade of bays and Theee Sheets to the wind, really nice, taste like small fruits fresh sangria. :-) And… possibly the best gift shop outside St-John’s! 👍👍👍👍

Did the the tour with wine tasting! Highly recommend since there isn’t much to do around. You get to try baked apple and blueberry iceberg wines! (Along with many others) cost only 10$. Pass by the restaurant to try the wine flavored soft serve! It’s more like berries flavored ice-cream (doesn’t contain alcohol) like I thought 😅.

Dave took a group of us out for a boat tour and cod fishing on a beautiful September weekend. The cod were plentiful, and the scenery and stories excellent! And the cod were delicious!

The owners of this company are outrageously generous giving free or discounted rafting adventures to youth groups like Scouts and Guides. My son did the Badger Chute yesterday with his Scout group and had a great time. He told me his croc slipped off in the fun of surfing a rapid and he thought that was the end of his shoe. His raft guide took it as a personal challenge to retrieve it and succeeded! He was very grateful AND super impressed. Thanks for another great day on the water.

Had such an amazing time. Went very late in the season and the water levels were low, so the rapids were in the lighter side. Still a blast! The company provided us with wetsuits which was great because it was a touch cold (and as Floridians we are wimps). Very beginner friendly. The two young men guides with us were helpful, knowledgeable and a pleasure. We definitely want to come back. The pictures are extra, but they told us that upfront and seemed like a great deal! (My partner was very worried about being plus sized and it was not an issue at all. Don't let this discourage you from going!!)

What an amazing team! I am traveling solo on a personal strength journey. The team at Rafting Newfoundland encouraged me and went the extra little bit to make sure my experience was rewarding. I felt so amazingly taken care of. The guides are top notch in skills and knowledge, personable, and capable. Look through the different runs available and choose the one that matches your comfort level and you'll be sure to have a great experience.

Had a wonderful time. Staff very thorough and knowledgeable. Advise people in your group to research what to expect while white water rafting. One in our group had never been rafting and had a panic attack. To appease her the guide altered his route which was disappointing for the rest in the group but necessary. This company offers many options for a rafting trip so pick the one you’re most comfortable with.

Excellent experience! We went as a family with my sister, her partner, our nieces and young nephew. The guides were so good with the kids and they absolutely loved it. We could not have been treated better, and had so much fun. Would highly recommend :)

Really interesting spot to check out. See and learn about how salmon travel up rivers to spawn. This ladder was built so the salmon could get around a dam that was built and now they can keep making their journey safely. Watching them jump is quite fun too!

Visit late afternoon when the salmon are more active. Not that expensive if you consider what the money is used for. Fascinating to learn the differences between the Atlantic et Pacific salmon and the efforts to increase the Atlantic salmon population with initiatives like this. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff.

The Exploits River is the largest watershed on Newfoundland. The river provides critical habitat, migration routes, and resources for the Atlantic salmon. You can see and learn about the 35 fish ladders assisting migrating salmon to their spawning spot. Well worth the admission fee of $9.50.

Stopped here on our way through to Twillingate and it was awesome! The engineering put into the route for the salmon is definitely something to see. Staff were very informative as well. Would highly recommend

It is interesting, however I feel like it’s the kind of thing that should be free instead of 10$. It’s not expensive, but there is not that much to see or do. But there is a restaurant which is nice.

We were visiting Newfoundland and decided to make a trip to the Salmonid Interpretation Centre while en route to Bonavista. We were looking forward to seeing a salmon fish ladder at the dam and learn more about how and why the fish ladder works in helping salmon get up and over the dam. Upon arrival, after paying $9.50/adult to enter the Interpretation Site (an overpriced amount for what you get), we were quickly disappointed. It became quickly apparent that what used to be a must see facility is now being run to the ground and/or prioritizing business elsewhere (maybe the restaurant they have on site?). For example, the upper floor of the museum did little by way of engaging the visitor let alone explaining why the salmon come through the Exploits River, why the dam contributed to their original decline in numbers, and why and how the fish ladder works to address that. The lower level does allow you to look at the salmon passing through the fish ladder, but not much else. According to their website, the lower level used to host aquariums with Brook Trout, Sticklebacks, and live toads; now it hosts nothing more but empty aquariums. Yes, it was neat to see the salmon jumping up the ladder, but given that that was all there was to see at this Interpretation Site, it was not worth the $9.50/adult we paid. What also raised some questions was the restaurant that was located at the site; a restaurant that served salmon. Is this the same salmon that are going up the ladder that the site is supposed to be conserving? Or is this the salmon that died along the way? Either way, seems a bit odd to be at a site that is claiming to be driven by salmon conservation, meanwhile serving salmon to their guests.

Our kids love this place. They love watching the salmon jumping and the underground glass viewing area.

Misty day with a cool breeze blowing, but very nice park with interpretive signs and a boardwalk that goes around the pond.

A staple of my childhood and happy to have visited again recently (while on vacation from Ontario). A nice playground, free WiFi by the building, lots of benches, and accessible walkway (mostly a wooden walkway but sometimes gravel). Watch out for wildlife and many native plants (including pitcher plants)!

Scenic walk in a peaceful setting. So many improvements have been made to this beautiful park since my walks there while in Gander in the 1990s.

It's a beautiful, serene place which is alive with life. It offers walking trails, children's play areas, picnic areas, ducks, pond life, calmness, birds of many varieties, a safe board walk wide enough to include everyone, including the odd moose which may cross your path. There is a large separate dog pound to run one's dog freely. Dogs are allowed to walk the trails with families but must always be on a leash. Doggy bags are provided to help owners clean up after their loving pet. Bags can be deposited in garbage cans situated around the pond. The Pond is for everyone, please keep it clean for the benefit of all who enjoy going there to sit, to walk, to play, to enjoy the beauty of life in an all too often mixed up world.

Beautiful park! Nice board walk all the way around. Looks like there are some off trails, I didnt have the time to walk them all. I wish there was a map to show the routes and distances! Lots of friendly people walking around with their dogs

This is a wonderful place to visit for a good walk while taking in the natural surroundings of Cobb's Pond. There is a board walk that goes right around the pond and the total walk is roughly 3 kilometers. There were many people walking there dogs, a number of families, couples, and a few joggers going around the board walk.

Beautiful place with amazing walking trails. It was a great environment, with lots of fantastic rest areas and it is really well maintained. There are also pet bags at regular intervals along the path. Will definitely make this a regular rotation in my walking cycles.

Awesome museum. Inside the exhibits show historical aspects of the maritime aeronautical heritage of Gander airport. There is also an area dedicated to the impact of the airport on pioneer transatlantic crossings and later during early commercial flights. Lastly, the area dedicated to the outstanding generosity of Newfoundlanders on 911 is great. Four outdoor exhibits are quite attractive and features a PBY Catalina, a CF 101 Vodoo and two other airplanes. A must for all visitors of The Rock.

Outstanding museum with so much interesting information. We skipped by it at first since it is set back but we stopped at the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center and they redirected us. Self guided but easy to follow the history. Nice displays and many interactive. Huge planes outside but still easy to travel past. Well worth the stop

Stopped by here on the weekend when it was closed but still looked around at the planes on display outside. It's a nice place with interesting things. I would have gone inside if I was around during the week while it was open.

Great little museum that details the history of Gander's airport. The airport's art in the second world War is explained and it's very interesting! The museum also has a section about 9/11 and the role the city played to help with the stranded passengers that landed there that day. The aircrafts outside are some of the sole remaining in the world. Not to be missed!

Cool museum for aviation lowers, couple planes outside, one plane inside, simulators with MFS which is cool! A bit overpriced for how much there is on display compared to the museum in Halifax.. cool things in the gift store! Got myself a P51 mustang shirt!

A museum in Gander NL about North Atlantic Aviation. Good artifacts and info about aviation. Artifacts from 9/11 are found there.

It was ok, I wish they would restore the outdoor aircraft’s and make them more appealing to visitors and open the planes up for viewing… they do have boondocking for the night which was great!
