One of my favorite places to eat! They have the best Pizza I've ever had. The staff is friendly and super attentive. The Gluten free menu and options are great for GF diets. Kids menu and crayons are a favorite for families.

We had an excellent evening on Prime Rib night. The food was wonderful, but our server Bobbi made it such a memorable experience. So welcoming and accommodating! 5/5!
Tyler S — Google review
Beautiful golf course surrounded by forest and mountains, near the lake and marina, has it's own airstrip and nice restaurant.
Halina B — Google review
We were able to a 3 night RV stay and play accomodation pkg in May. Great value! The staff in the pro shop and in the restaurant were very friendly and incredibly helpful. We were really impressed with the condition of the fairways and the greens for the 2024 season! The RV lot that we rented for the three nights was very large but our biggest issue was the sani dump ports ... it was above ground rather than flush...so you can't hook up and drain on a downward slope. Not sure why they built them so high. Be prepared and bring lots of boards to set up your sani hose system.
Suzanne B — Google review
Thanks for the great service Alexey! My brother and I had a nice father's Day dinner with our Father and grandfather tonight. Thank you for working on such an occassion in so that we could enjoy the luxury of being served. 🙂 Thanks for snapping a photo aswell

It is getting just super crazy on the extra money grabs now and extra fees implemented. Some of which are so extreme and extravagant! This was a go to place about once a yr on average for us until this yr now and to combine staying and golfing we really liked and please know that the golf course is amazing! Cabins etc... No dogs allowed in a beach cabin is really silly and ridiculous to be so honest if they charge a ton of extras on cleaning and for extra dog cleaning too! They want you to just stay at the more expensive house with a dog and still charge a ton of extras I noticed. What if you were a very clean person and maybe even cleaner than the ladies cleaning? What if your dog is small and not very messy? I mean, I always tidy up wherever I stay at! It is the slobs of society that have ruined things for the normal clean people of the world! The lazies have taken over folks but with a big penalty now to anyone who are respectful of motels and cabins out there! With all of the crazy extra fees now and not even to include golf like they did in past, we have had to make other arrangements this yr. Was a staple to go here to Mabel and enjoy ourselves. Review below was from last yr. I know it is not really the golf course's fault but I wished they would get a cell tower up there finally or at least have working internet in the clubhouse to just check business emails every now and then, even when visiting or staying at a cabin up there. 2ndly, why not allow dogs like some other courses to be on the patio??? This is where I bring my 5 star rating down to 3 now. Could have enjoyed some time with the dog on the patio and something different than just at beach cabin. Review below is from the other yr...(based on golf and without the dog with us). There should be much more pet friendly places in the world. Course is a definite 5 of 5! In immaculate shape and with nice scenery and play-ability. Staff are friendly and with a nice patio to watch some putts on the 9th green. Food menu limited but we enjoyed the chicken strips and fries. We rented a cabin too right on the lake and we enjoyed our time quite a lot. Please know though there is no cell service and no internet except up at the clubhouse. Just roughing it once in awhile is quite relaxing. Thanks! (:

Just went to Club House for a meal. Was great, has Cell service and Wifi also. TV to watch sports. And an Air strip which is surrounded by the golf course.

D Dutchmen Dairy Ltd

Mentioned on

Dairy
Sights & Landmarks
D Dutchmen Dairy Ltd is a long-standing establishment that has been offering handmade dairy products since 1978. Founded by Chris and Nellie Dewitt, the dairy continues to be operated by the Dewitt family. Known for its high-quality ingredients, the small family-owned farm in Sicamous produces fresh milk, ice cream, and cheese on-site. The dairy's products are popular among both locals and tourists, with many visitors returning for generations.
A Must-Stop on Your BC Road Trip! If you're traveling through British Columbia, make sure to take a quick detour (just a minute off Highway 1) to visit Dutchmen Dairy—you won't regret it! This charming, family-friendly spot offers some of the best house-made ice cream and dairy products you'll find anywhere. We were blown away by the variety of ice cream flavors, all made on-site with incredibly rich and creamy texture. We also picked up some delicious cheese and spent a good 10-15 minutes exploring the small farm area—great for kids. The whole experience is super accessible, with lots to see and do even on a short stop. Whether you're grabbing a cone or just stretching your legs, Dutchmen Dairy is well worth the visit!
Luna K — Google review
We stopped by on Monday for ice cream and really liked the place and atmosphere. Our toddler was quite entertained by the various tractors he could sit on and the baby cows he could watch. There was a lineup, but it only took about 10 minutes—so not too long. The staff was great and friendly, especially considering how busy they were. The ice cream was okay; lots of choices, we tried Sea Salt Caramel Cheesecake and Wild Berries. They were nice and creamy, which was great, but not very flavourful—even though cherry usually is. They also sell milk products, including milk and cheese. We didn’t have a chance to try them.
Tanya M — Google review
Stopped here on the way from Revelstoke — definitely worth it! The place was quite busy, and we waited about 10 minutes in line, but the huge selection of ice cream made from fresh farm milk was worth it. They also offer lactose-free options and refreshing sorbets, which is a big plus. The whole spot has a Dutch theme, with shelves full of waffles, chocolate, and cookies, along with their own dairy products straight from the farm. The property is large and well set up, with gazebos, washrooms, a store, and even a barn where you can see the cows. A fun stop for families and ice cream lovers alike!
Anastasiya L — Google review
We have been stopping by D Dutchmen for years. It's worth taking a break here from the drive to have some delicious ice cream. This is no tourist trap. The ice cream and sorbet are excellent here. My kids look forward to this stop on our way to the Okanagan. The washrooms are clean and another reason to stop by. If you feel up to it, pop across the street to Fruit World for some healthy snacks for the road.
Victor L — Google review
I definitely recommend making a detour to D Dutchmen Dairy for their fresh, creamy ice cream. You can grab a pint or even a tub to take home. The ice cream is rich, full of flavor, and has that heavy cream taste that makes it stand out exactly how I like it. It does get very busy, so be prepared to wait in line, but it’s absolutely worth it once you get that first scoop. A true local gem and a must-stop when passing through Sicamous.
Jackson L — Google review
Great choice of ice cream! You can also find a variety of farm-made cheeses, milks, and fresh cream. There are even some lovely Dutch souvenirs such as ceramic tulips, kitchen towels, and, of course, authentic Dutch waffles. When my daughter accidentally dropped her ice cream at the cashier while we were paying, the cashier—before she even started to cry—immediately said they would bring her a new portion. That was such a kind gesture, and I’m very grateful for it. A public washroom is available, and there’s also a play area for children.
Yulia H — Google review
Dutchmen Dairy in Sicamous was a notable stop on our drive to Revelstoke. I had two scoops of ice cream, and the sea salt caramel cheesecake flavor was fantastic—rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. They boast a wide variety of ice cream flavors, which is a major draw. However, on our return trip, I tried the Oreo and mango flavors, and both were a big disappointment. Not only did they lack the distinct Oreo and mango tastes I expected, but they oddly tasted the same, which was a real letdown. The place has a family-friendly atmosphere, with a nice seating area, a small play space for kids, and a barn where you can see cows and goats, which my family enjoyed. That said, the shop gets very crowded, and parking is a hassle. Hygiene was also an issue—there was a fly buzzing around, and the ice cream cones were left exposed without covers. Worst of all, stepping outside hits you with a strong smell of cow patties from the barn right behind the store, making it tough to enjoy your ice cream. Pricing for the scoops is fair: $5.25 for one giant scoop, $6.50 for two scoops, and $8.00 for three scoops. However, a waffle cone costs an extra $1.00, and a bowl adds $0.25, which feels a bit much for basic add-ons. The ice cream quality (when the flavor delivers) and family-friendly vibe are highlights, but the disappointing flavors, hygiene concerns, and overpowering barn smell really detracted from the experience. I’d recommend it for the standout flavors and kid-friendly activities, but they need to improve cleanliness, flavor consistency, and the odor issue.
Janice K — Google review
An all-in-one stop for everyone. Family-run with a welcoming feel, great products and incredible up-close (no cost) experience of the ‘farm’. The ice cream, milk, cheese, butter, etc. is just an added bonus. Our kids loved coming ans it became a daily stop on our holiday.

Golf Courses
MaraHills Golf Resort offers a challenging game with breathtaking views of the natural mountain formations and Mara Lake. The course winds through forests, across ravines, and features tees overlooking the lake. Despite some changes in management, it remains well-maintained and provides a taste of mountain-style golf at a reasonable price. The impeccably groomed greens and impressive fairways make it stand out as one of the best courses in the BC and Alberta region.
What a beautiful course! Take a camera and your yardage laser. Enjoy a drink and food on probably the most scenic decks in the country. Recommend highly!!
Kevin M — Google review
On the plus side, the views are spectacular, staff are nice. Siting on the deck is magnificent, to various spots on the course the view of Mara Lake are outstanding. On the golf side, not quite so nice. Course carved into a side of the hill, shots hit down the middle will roll off course into the cart path...or worse...down a significant hill. You shouldn't be penalized for a straight golf shot. Too many gimmicky holes for my liking. We played 4 different courses in Salmon Arm area, and when we mentioned to course locals we played Mara Hills, the responses were unanimous. "We either got there once a year, or I've played that once and no need to go back." I don't see the urge to return here.
Spencer H — Google review
It’s such a beautiful course with gorgeous view from top of the hill and so much fun to play. We will definitely come back to play .
Flora C — Google review
Always love my trips to this course. Another 'must play' course if you're in the Okanagan. Who doesn't want to play from the elevated tee at the hole called Geronimo!
Trish C — Google review
Great location and decent enough course, but website shows your cost for round and then when you get to the course, you are charged for a mandatory cart.. which are expensive carts for what you get. I think almost $50 for the 2 players? Why not just have an all inclusive price for the round of golf, if carts are mandatory??? Old carts, faced to sign a waver before heading out. The brakes on the carts were a disgrace, and for this particular course.. believe me.. you need to have good brakes.. just something to consider, if you value your life…. 😬 Beautiful patio.. best in the area.
Stefano S — Google review
Honestly we got a preferred rate today.. and it was almost reasonable. But I would not pay full pop green fees here. The views are spectacular, but much work needs to be done here. This golf course was bought out recently by a corporation, and changed hands from family owned. You can definitely tell the difference. I will make some accommodation for the fact that getting people to work at a course doing labour is hard, but, 1 The sand in the bunkers is terrible and needs replaced. 2 The cart paths are horrible, and far too steep, gravel needs to be cleaned off of them, and more sections need paving. I shouldn’t have to jump off a two seat cart multiple times in a course in order for the driver to make it up hills. 3 The fairways are just ok… but there are many places where overwatering pools even in the direct sun. 4 the course marshal is gruff, and argumentative even when you are trying to be cheerful and follow directions, and hiding in the bushes and yelling at people isn’t cool. Overall not a terrible experience, but again I won’t pay full ride at this course. Next time I will be taking plenty of photos to post detailing my experience, if I golf here again.
Dwayne P — Google review
The best part of this course is the views, but as a group of avid golfers we were woefully disappointed and frustrated. There’s too many gimmicky holes. You’re penalized for hitting great shots, it’s just sloped brutally and over half the cart paths aren’t even paved. We were excited for a Les Furber design, but this is far from the standard he’s set for himself. Views: 9/10 Course Conditions: 6.5/10 Course Design: 2/10 Staff Service: 7/10
Jared L — Google review
The course itself was excellent and made for an enjoyable round of golf. However, the pro shop staff appeared overwhelmed by the volume of golfers that day, and unfortunately, they ran out of golf carts. It may have been their first particularly busy day of the season, but I trust they gained some valuable experience to better manage high-demand days in the future.

SilverStar Mountain Resort

Ski resort
Outdoor Activities
SilverStar Mountain Resort is a picturesque destination offering skiing, snowboarding, biking, and more. Located in B.C.'s Thompson-Okanagan region, it boasts champagne-powder snow that falls frequently during winter. The resort features technical terrain on the backside of the mountain and is close to Vernon. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails like Electric Avenue but may find some trail connections unclear.
We spent 3 full days riding at the SilverStar bike park and we had the best time! This was our second time riding park, our first at a large resort style park. The village is beautiful and has everything you could need. All the staff were kind and helpful. They even have a little convenience store! The food was delicious and the shops were reasonably priced with great selection and sales. We had a blast riding the blue trails! Both the tech and flow trails were running so good! Our first day at the park we had a 4 hour lesson with Jordan (the one that works in high school education). 10/10 for the SS bike school! He was so personable and tailored our lesson to our abilities. He was able to take our street motorcycle riding skills and transfer them to DH park riding flawlessly. Our skills progressed more than we imagined! Thank you Jordan!! We hope to see you on the trails next season!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 – A Dream Venue with an Incredible Team! We couldn't have asked for a more magical wedding day, and so much of that is thanks to Nicola, Chris, and the entire team at this incredible venue. From start to finish, they were professional, coordinated, and an absolute joy to work with. Their calm and fun energy made the day feel smooth and stress-free—even when the weather decided to throw us a curveball! When the skies opened up with rain and even hail, they didn’t miss a beat. They jumped into action with their side-by-side, making sure everyone and everything stayed on track. They even went the extra mile to dry off all the ceremony chairs before guests arrived—truly above and beyond. And the venue itself? Absolutely breathtaking. The space was not only beautifully maintained but also offered stunning views in every direction. It’s hard to put into words just how special it felt to be surrounded by that kind of natural beauty while celebrating such an important day. We’re so grateful to Nicola, Chris, and the whole team for helping make our wedding unforgettable. If you're looking for a venue that’s both gorgeous and supported by an amazing crew, look no further. This place is a gem!

Instead of going to Whistler, like I typically do, I decided to come in inland for a one week mountain biking trip. Though it was cold and rainy Silverstar mountain bike park is very impressive and easy to get around. The lines are short and all of the food and services is in one place. My only complaint is that all of the blue trails seem to be flow and there wasn’t enough just plain old old-school riding, but that might just be me looking for that. It was really nice to be able to park and just go and ride and eat something and do it all without wondering where to go .
Epic C — Google review
It is situated in such a great spot! Great view! If you are lucky you will see wild animals roaming around. Rooms are spacious and clean. Great option for big families or a large group( 10-12). Service is great! Loved my stay here! My whole family had a joyous stay. I will definitely be back!
Chetna S — Google review
Have been coming out downhill biking here for a lot of years, very progressive park with something for everyone and well maintained, frequently changing things up rebuilding trails and building new ones, lift ticket prices aren't terrible compared to some resorts, ride cards nice for shorter trips especially having the extended play option. Have stayed in most of the accommodations, camped at the hill lots, nothing fancy just a parking lot but has power when we slug the travel trailer up or just standard with our rooftop tent, access to full facilities including showers. Couple fun pubs for some evening entertainment.
Jordan K — Google review
Amazing mtb riding. Not busy, tons of riding for everyone. Great facilities in the village. Lovely staff and a chill vibe. The trails were a bit rough because we were late in the season. Didn't put us off and rode till the body said no more ! Awesome place
Andy H — Google review
Great bike park, fantastic experience on the mountain. The kids are really levelling up with the progression through the blues and blacks. Rental shop killed the experience unfortunately. My son is just outgrowing his 20 inch commencal, and the bigger features on pipe dream required a 24” full suspension. Day 1, rental bike and setup was great. Day 2, we rented the same bike, but it was not setup at all. We took 3 trips to the shop to attempt corrections. Bike continued to bottom out hard on the rear, no matter the corrections the shop made. Consider also that we only rode 7 laps of the park in a full day, so 3 trips to the shop is pretty frustrating. Day 3 when we picked up the bike I was told that there was nothing wrong on Day 2, and that I should stop messing with the suspension settings, as I was adjusting things backwards. At no time did I adjust anything, so this was pretty disheartening to hear, as it sounded like the shop believed it was my fault? Lesson learned, while the rental bikes are high quality, the service department, and rental department are not. No offers of a discounted rental on the second or third day, nothing was done to make it right. Knocked down my 5 star experience to a 3, at best. ***update*** The rental shop has been in contact, and has made everything right, even offering a refund for the rental. I trust the experience will be far better moving forward. Excellent customer service team, and perhaps just a bad day from an employee. Well done SIlverstar team.

Starlight Drive-In Theatre

Drive-in movie theater
Fun & Games
The Starlight Drive-In Theatre is a charming, vintage outdoor cinema that offers an unforgettable movie experience under the stars. With its double feature showings and a well-stocked concessions stand, it’s perfect for summer nights. Visitors rave about the spacious parking lot, allowing everyone to find their ideal viewing spot. The friendly staff enhances the atmosphere with their warm hospitality, making first-timers feel right at home.
Best drive in, DONT BRING YOUR OWN SNACKS. The prices are very fair and you’re supporting local. Help keep the last stand alone drive in theatre in BC. Buy snacks and drinks from the theatre, great people & great screen.
Michael A — Google review
What a wonderful place! I can't wait to come back here! Ticket and concession prices were very affordable. The view of the screen and the stars was excellent! They enforce people at the start of the movie who have their lights on to turn them off. But they don't reinforce people bringing in portable FM radios, meaning some people did have to start their cars during. I didn't smell exhaust, but that did make people's lights turn on. All in all, I know they can't really control who isn't being considerate. It was my first time and plan to go back!
Stephanie H — Google review
What a great way to spend the evening. Starlight is a must see while driving through BC. The price is totally reasonable and the experience on a warm starry night is amazing. Come early to get a good spot and settle in. the concession has a decent selection of food and although they don't encourage bringing in your own food you totally could if you wanted to. But hey why would you not order popcorn at a drive in! The picture quality was great and the FM audio was really timed well. We will for sure come back here and recommend this to everyone we can. It really is the last of its kind and an experience to remember. Thank you Starlight.
Isaac K — Google review
Really enjoyed the shows, and the baked-in nostalgia of visiting a drive-in for the first time in decades... And the first time ever for my wife and daughter. An added bonus, clouds and distant lightning gave way to clear skies, bright stars, and the odd shooting star.
Greg J — Google review
Great Drive-In Cinema even if the nearby street is a bit loud, especially early in the evening. Prices are fair! Bring a battery powered radio, as most cars struggle a bit with running the radio for 2+ hours.
Die.berta — Google review
A great spot, affordable concession, double features. A fun experience to enjoy in the summer. There are not many Drive-in theatres left, bring a couple lawn chairs and a portable radio and enjoy a night under the stars.
K C — Google review
Battery died half way through double feature... they gave me and over a dozen other vehicles a transistor radio for audio and a boost at the end of the night... thanks for the adventure! Others came with all varieties of comfort from hammocks to blow up mattresses.

What a night to remember! This has been a bucket list item for awhile and it did not disappoint. Something truly extraordinary to sit under the stars in the warm summer night watching a movie on the big screen.

Tourist trap that you absolutely want to fall for. They have some local products, ice cream. We had a brownie and was tasty and then we bought some of the animal food and went to feed the animals. They have goats, alpacas, sheep, and horses, they love to be fed and it was a super fun activity on the way to our next destination. The staff was friendly and the decoration was super fun to see and many picture spots

Neat place with lots of random stuff but main reason to stop are the pies! We stopped years ago and had the best pecan pie we've ever had. Glad to see the pies are still just as good. Got a fresh one to finish on the trip and a frozen one to take home.

Log Burn 1912 is a hidden gem with a warm and rustic vibe. From the moment you step in, you feel welcomed—the décor is charming, the staff are friendly, and the service is fast. The food and drinks are excellent, made with care and full of flavor. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a casual day out or a cozy gathering with friends and family. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a memorable spot to unwind!

Such a fun stop — and the BEST snacks! Log Barn is a hidden gem! We had the best time exploring the quirky displays, feeding the goats, and soaking in the peaceful country vibes. But let’s talk about the snacks — absolutely unbeatable! From the softest donuts to the most delicious pies, beef jerky, and fudge… we left with bags full of goodies (and zero regrets). Everything felt homemade and full of love. Highly recommend making a stop here — 5 stars all the way!
Kiara R — Google review
Had the best time here with my cousin and friend. We’re visiting from Los Angeles and loved the rustic charm of this place! So glad we stopped by on our way to Banff National Park! Definitely must try their fresh pies, buttery fudge, artisan cheeses, and their famous smoky Mennonite sausage. Outside, snap photos with life-size dinosaurs and soak in stunning BC countryside views. Whether it’s ice cream, local gifts, or a taste of rural Canada. We got to feed the goats and saw horses and bunnies too! Highly recommend! 😊
Pam D — Google review
We had a wonderful experience here in a week! Where to even start? We'd been told about Log Barn 1912, but pictures just don't do it justice. Watching the goats meander up and down was a huge hit with everyone. And the statues! It’s this whole wild collection of creatures, including a lion and what looked like a dragon. It's so creative and unexpected. But the real magic for us was inside. We're big fans of good food, and the sausage and homemade desserts were the real deal. We grabbed a bunch of different items for dinner and a snack for the road, including some of their smoked cheeses, and everything was just delicious. You can really tell that they take pride in what they make. This place is a feast for the senses, and it's clear they've put so much thought into creating a unique experience. It’s like a road trip stop that felt more like a destination, and we were so glad we took the time to explore every corner. We'll be back for more of those wonderful pastries, for sure:))

Whether it's sunny or rainy, this place is definitely full of charm. Whenever passing by, one can't help but stop to admire it, feed sheep and chickens, buy ice cream to eat, and purchase hot dogs. It is an indispensable stop on a long journey

R.J. Haney Heritage Village and Museum, located in Salmon Arm just off Highway 97 B, is an open-air museum showcasing early Canadian life. The 40-acre village features 24 heritage buildings and over 30 exhibits, including replicas of historic structures like the old courthouse and original library. Visitors can explore the pioneer village with a map detailing historical information about each building. Additionally, the museum houses Indigenous artifacts on loan from local Nations.
A MUST place to visit when you are in Salmon Arm. This charming small village filled with fascinating historical sites. The rich history, stunning architecture, and welcoming locals made it a truly unforgettable experience. Each building seemed to tell its own unique story. If you're a history buff or just love exploring new places, this village is a hidden gem worth discovering! 🏰🌿 Admission fee is around CAD12, don’t need to buy in advance.

Great place for learning and fun for the entire family. Nice restaurant with good homemade bread and soups. Very helpful staff and clean bathrooms. So much to see and kids love the kids museum!! Gold panning was fun for all!

Great place to tour old buildings, relax in the gardens and go to the restaurant. It took us about 2 hours to go through all the buildings on site. After we went to the restaurant on site. Wasn’t too pleased with the meal. We got the salmon and vegetables which was the menu special which was $20. Very tasty but serving was small for the price. Also ordered the harvest sandwich which comes with ham and chicken with tomato and cheese and lettuce. The ham was not ready so substituted with roasted beef. The bread was a tad dry and was falling apart. Not happy with the overall meal. I gave a 5 star rating as the village was great but would give a 3 star for the restaurant

What a fun stop to make in Salmon arm, very kid friendly and welcoming. We got a village tour and tour of the heritage Haney house. We enjoyed the Spring of Heather tea garden as well

We went to the Cowboy Campfire Show with Rob Dinwoodie, Kevin, Dixon and the Cowboy poet and author Ken Mather. A great experience for all. They had everyone involved from the steer roping to singing. Such a perfect venue for evenings like that. I hope that they will be back next year. On top of all of that, the hamburgers were very tasty. Thanks so much to everyone.

Fantastic museum/heritage site/ghost town. My 8 and 3 year old had a fantastic time seeing all the old buildings and artifacts. We took one of the tours of the town and the guide was knowledgeable, my family really enjoyed it. Everything was extremely clean and well kept. We’ve been to Salmon Arm many times and I wish someone would have told us about this sooner. If you enjoy the Three Valley Gap Ghost town, this should be added too your holiday itinerary.

We attended the Murder Mystery Wedding Edition. It was so much fun. Moving from scene to scene was different than normal plays and much nicer than just sitting in one place for the whole show. The actors were great and did a good job. The meal was wonderful and plentiful. We sure would go to another of these.

We had our wedding ceremony at R.J. Haney Heritage Village this fall and we could not have been happier with the venue. Tara was great to work with and got back to our questions quickly and always had answers. She was accommodating with our vision and worked with us to set up exactly what we wanted. Tara showed us multiple places we could perform the ceremony and when we picked one, she was able to organize what we were hoping for. The added benefit of set up and take down was so helpful to alleviate stress on the day and she they let us show up as early as we needed for rehearsal and on the day. The grounds were flawless and beautiful allowing so many great photos and our guests loved walking around the houses and buildings when my wife and I were busy. Everyone said how unique and beautiful our location was. I could not recommend R.J. Haney Heritage Village, Tara, and the rest of the people who helped out enough.

Recently gave birth here via c-section. The experience I had in every department was amazing. The nurses, the OR team and everyone in between were so positive and helpful and kind. I’m grateful for all of the support and care I received, this hospital is amazing and highly underrated. Thank you so much to everyone who took care of me and my baby. I want to come back and give my thanks somehow.

I’ve been to this hospital on many occasions and generally have had an alright experience. The nurses are wonderful! Today, however, was the 2nd time in a week that I have been in for throwing up blood (among other symptoms), the nurses were very clearly concerned about my well-being. The doctor, however, was very clearly in a rush. Literally ran in the room, spoke over me, didn’t listen to a word I said. Essentially told me to go see my family doctor and left. The absolute worst doctor experience I have ever had. I cried the entire way home. I’ve been having a TON of health related issues and have really been struggling. The nurses were so understanding and I could tell they were genuinely worried about me. The female doctor on staff today could not have cared less. I understand they are busy, but the least they can do is actually listen to what you’re saying after you’ve been sitting there for hours. The worst part is she claimed my bloodwork was all “completely fine”, but since getting home and looking at my results online, it seems there are a few abnormalities that could point to some serious issues. Definitely won’t be going back.

I needed antibiotic IV treatment from Friday until Tuesday over the August long weekend. The emergency department was slammed with ambulances & folks coming in needing urgent help. Sitting and watching the staff work through the full waiting rooms was really admirable. The doctors and nurses deserve all the credit in the world! They also deserve more understanding and empathy from patients in my opinion. Great job staff! You should be proud of all you do to help Salmon Arm in emergency situations! Thank you for all your help over the weekend, I truly appreciate it! Keep up the great work!

This hospital is very under staffed and because of that they are unorganized and unprofessional. They lost my father in-law in his own room and he missed his surgery. They then transferred him to another hospital without notifing family members, they were unable to even know where they sent him. We had to call hospitals in the area to find which ICU unit he was in. Run away from this hospital before you become a "salmon arm special" from their operating room. ☆☆☆Formal complaint has been submitted and elevated to executive level already.☆☆☆

TERRIBLE! this hospital has to be the worst one i’ve ever been too . Me and my boyfriend went two times first time we had to leave as we waited for 6 hrs and got no medical attention and i had to bandage him at home . And second time we waited at triage for 20 min before the lady even opened the window and attended to us . If i could give this hospital a zero star i would for staff and attentiveness. Terrible terrible .

The Salmon Arm Wharf is a must-visit wooden boardwalk, boasting the title of the longest inland curved wharf in Canada. It offers stunning views of the bird sanctuary and ecological reserve. Adventure seekers can explore hiking, biking, horse riding, and even snowmobiling in winter. This historic 440-foot structure dates back to the early 1900s and provides an amazing opportunity for leisurely strolls with breathtaking lake views.
This is a must visit place in Salmon Arm. It has a big pay parking lot costs only $1 per hour. Don't forget to pay then go. Beautiful scenery all around the area. The wharf has boats etc for rental. There are one takeout cafe restaurant at the end of the wharf. They offer some sandwiches, fish and chips, spring roll, cafe ,ice-cream and cold drink. The price and the food are good. When I get there, I see so many swallows are crazy busy feeding their babies. It's the first time that I can see the swallows so closely. The babies are pity big and they stand out the nest waiting for their parents. There are also many seagulls around. They stay around and waiting for some food. The washrooms are in the end of the wharf.

The Wharf in Salmon Arm is an absolute treasure and truly one of the highlights of the area. Walking along this beautifully maintained wooden boardwalk, stretching gracefully over the calm waters of Shuswap Lake, is a serene and unforgettable experience. The gentle sway of the dock, the sound of the water beneath, and the panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains make it a perfect escape from the busy world. It’s the longest wooden wharf in North America, and every step offers something magical, whether it’s watching birds flying low over the water, catching the colors of the sky reflecting off the lake, or simply soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. The wharf is clean, safe, and a wonderful spot for a casual walk, photography, or just sitting quietly to enjoy the view. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this spot is a must-visit in Salmon Arm. It’s one of those places that instantly calms your mind and leaves you with lasting memories.

It's one of my favorite places in Salmon Arm. In the heart of Salmon Arm take a boardwalk stroll on the longest curved inland wharf in North America. The wharf is a great place to watch the local wildlife and take in the beautiful Shuswap Lake. Perfect plan to clear your mind and get some fresh air. This is such a beautiful location. I really recommend this place.

The Salmon Arm wharf was gorgeous. We went on BC Day, so it was pretty chill. We walked through downtown, but most stores were closed for the holiday. Which was actually kinda nice, lots of parking, and we window-shopped...lol. Some small restaurants were open. The buildings and planter boxes were beautiful and worth the walk. If you need a washroom, Askew grocery store has one! Askews was super cute and had lots of cool stuff, like organic products. I totally recommend walking around downtown Salmon Arm and down to the waterfront. It was a great day with beautiful surroundings!

A beautiful and peaceful lakeside walk! Visited Salmon Arm Wharf for the first time and absolutely loved it. The views of Shuswap Lake are stunning, especially at sunset, and the boardwalk is clean, spacious, and easy to walk. It’s the longest wooden wharf in North America, a great spot for photos, birdwatching (saw lots of Western Grebes), or just enjoying the calm. The nearby park adds to the relaxing vibe, with plenty of space to sit and take in the scenery. A must-visit if you're in the area — peaceful, scenic, and full of charm.

Salmon Arm Wharf: A Scenic Haven for Dining and Wildlife On Friday, August 15, 2025, my girlfriend and I enjoyed a delightful visit to Salmon Arm Wharf, a highlight of British Columbia’s Shuswap region. Seeking a picturesque spot to enjoy our lunch by the water, we found the wharf’s picnic tables to be clean, inviting, and perfectly positioned for a relaxing meal. As we savored our food, the expansive views of Shuswap Lake on a clear, sunny day were nothing short of breathtaking, with the serene waters framed by the distant Coastal Mountains, including the majestic Mount Ida. The wharf, stretching 440 feet and proudly holding the title of North America’s longest freshwater wooden wharf, offers a unique vantage point for visitors. Constructed in 1907 to navigate the lake’s mudflats, it has evolved into a beloved attraction for both locals and tourists. During our visit, we were charmed by the local wildlife, with friendly ducks waddling nearby and a graceful great blue heron patrolling the shoreline. In the distance, bald eagles soared, adding to the natural spectacle. The wharf is a renowned birdwatching hotspot, with over 278 documented species, including ospreys, western grebes, and swans, making it a paradise for nature enthusiasts. The adjacent Marine Peace Park enhances the experience with well-maintained grounds, additional picnic areas, and benches ideal for soaking in the views. For those planning a visit, the wharf is easily accessible, though parking near the roundabout can be tricky during peak times—arrive early to secure a spot, with one hour of free parking available before fees apply. Summer visitors can enjoy “Wednesdays on the Wharf,” a lively event featuring live music at the park’s bandstand, perfect for pairing with a picnic or a meal at the nearby Prestige Inn patio. A concession stand at the wharf’s end offers snacks like fresh sorbet, and watercraft rentals are available for those eager to explore the lake. Tips for Visitors: Bring binoculars for optimal birdwatching, as herons, eagles, and other species are abundant but sometimes distant. A light jacket is wise, as lake breezes can be cool even on sunny days. For a quieter experience, visit in the morning to avoid crowds. Note that dogs must be leashed to protect sensitive wildlife habitats. Salmon Arm Wharf is a must-visit for anyone seeking a blend of natural beauty, wildlife, and tranquility. Whether you’re enjoying a picnic, strolling the historic pier, or spotting bald eagles, this destination delivers a memorable experience. I highly recommend it to couples, families, and nature lovers looking to create lasting memories in the heart of the Shuswap!

What a fantastic experience at this great venue! I came for a performance of "The Bear And The Proposal" and I wouldn't have want to miss this theatrical storytelling experience. Well organized, excellent executed in a setting that is hard to match. The friendly and inviting atmosphere makes you want to stay and/or come back often. I know, I'm becoming a regular patron of the Caravan Farm Theatre. Kudos to all staff and performers.

Beautiful venue! We went there for a fundraiser/barn dance and had a wonderful time!! The band, Barney Bentall, Dustin Bentall and Trixie Bentall were outstanding, as usual. They played a 90 minute set of original music and some hits. They also stayed and played some fiddle music for the barn dance! The event was really well organized. Refreshments for purchase included non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, smokies and vegetarian smokies, and peach and blueberry pies.

Cant speak for any other events they do, but the halloween walk with the mp3 players was incredibly boring. I find it hard to feel immersed with a pair of headphones on, you must go at a set pace which is up to interpretation, and the actors are not dynamic. They do the same thing in the same spot all night. Cool if youre 5 years old, thats about it.
Marshall B — Google review
Very well done, superb talent and production. I've been to several shows, always a great time. We're very lucky to have such a high quality, unique experience in our area. If you've never gone, you have to try it - you won't be disappointed! Highly recommended
Cory B — Google review
Just no don't waste your money or your time, did the Halloween walk "labyrinth"... with headphone and an MP3 player. Walking at a pace that is up for interpretation. So nothing you were listening to made any sense. The people in front of us kept stopping to kiss and do whatever it was they were doing. First 5 to ten minutes you walk across an empty field. Then up into the edge of the forest. Bright white lights pointing into your face then some red ones I think we seen 5 maybe six actors at best. Not scary at all. I think maybe a young child might enjoy it. Its expensive and just not worth it.
Sandraleigh M — Google review
Did the Labryinth Halloween walk and it was very underwhelming for the price. Nothing jumping out at you, nothing overly scary. The audio was alright but still not worth over $100.00 for two of us. We only saw about 4 actors throughout the 3km walk and didn’t jump once. This was our first time here and don’t think we’ll be back.

The best place ever. Took the kids and they had a blast all day. The staff are also super friendly and amazing!!!!

Stopped off on way through for a couple of hours with my husband and 3 sons (18, 16, 11). Got the twilight rate on entry which helped as all 13+ are classed as adults. Fun couple of hours on the 4 slides, nice hot shower for afterwards and plenty of space to sit for anyone not on a slide.
Marisa T — Google review
Excellent waterslide park. 4 large slides. Reasonable entry fee. Good amount of green space to relax. Likely less enjoyable when the park is at max capacity but the evening we visited it was most enjoyable and the whole crew had fun. The hot tub is not overly hot. There are 3 kids slides and a small mini golf course as well. The slides are in very good condition and the staff are friendly and helpful.
MISTER L — Google review
It's a lovely facility, but the adult slides are frustratingly slow so often times you get stuck mid way down and have to scramble your way down to the next dip in the slide. I also don't think the kids slides have enough supervision so there's far more collisions than necessary near the exits of the two slides. Staff were all super friendly and helpful and a great time all round for the whole family.
Jonathan B — Google review
Had a blast with my family. The lines went fast so we got to go multiple times. The hot tub was a little gross with lots of dirt and murky water. But other then that it was a great experience.

One of our favorite places. . . We lpve it, so do the mosquitos!
Leah R — Google review
Honestly I read so many mixed reviews and was a little meh about going, especially with an 8 year old who wants to be 16. She loved it, we loved it! Yes there are only 4 slides, but the waits were reasonable (15 mins max) and you're undercover from the sun. It was very busy when we went and I was just surprised with how fun it was! Well worth it and will be going again! The main complaint I saw was going slow on the slides, if you're on the smaller side (adult and kid) and go down sitting up, you're going to go slow. So yah just gotta send it!
Michelle M — Google review
We have kids age 4,6,8 just the right size and speed for them. Lots of older kids there looked like they were having fun as well. Line ups can take quite a while. Worth the twilight price.

Okanagan Spirits Craft Distillery has two locations, with the flagship facility in Vernon offering tours of the largest center distillery in Canada. The distillery produces over 30 varieties of gin, vodka, whiskey, and other liquors using 100% locally grown fruits and grains. Visitors can enjoy informative tours showcasing the production process and a tasting experience featuring five different samples. The Kelowna location is known for its killer cocktails and serves as a great spot to enjoy drinks before dinner reservations.
Today was a great day, in large part to our guide Lakin. The building facility is very cool, the tour was great, as was the tasting, and the whole time we had an amazing host. Friendly, knowledgeable (and cute). 100% recommend visiting here and taking a tour. Whether you're a local, or visiting the Okanagan from elsewhere. Support local!!!!! I'm a huge new fan of gin.

We had a marvelous time on our Farm to Flask tasting. Our hostess was very gracious and well-informed. We learned a lot about the process of distilling fine spirits and bought four bottles to take with us. We were very impressed with how everything is sourced locally and how they have found a valuable use for "seconds" apples that are fine but aren't quite "cosmetically good enough" for store shelves. We were also impressed by how all byproducts of the process are composted or given to farmers to feed their animals. It is very impressive and the finished product is top quality.
Nan N — Google review
Stopped here on a road trip through the Okanagan. Very nice tasting room in Vernon, friendly and knowledgeable staff and most importantly very tastey Whiskey. Left with the BLK BRBN Cask Strength but the rye and single malt were also very good.

This distillery was beautiful. The shop front looked nice and we were so glad to be able to stop by. We didn’t do any tastings because we were driving but would have loved to try some of what they had to offer someday. We got ourselves their small bottles of gin/vodka/whiskey as well as a cocktail smoker set. Can’t wait to try it out.
Sharon T — Google review
OkanaganSpirits Craft Distillery makes two bourbon style whiskeys that are at least equal but I believe superior to anything from Tennessee or Kentucky-BRBN and Whisky Hunter: Nectar of the Gods. If you are in Vernon or Kelowna, go for a tasting. If the B.C. government would do the right thing and rightfully provide B.C. distillers with the same support as BC wineries, you would be able to find these on B.C. Liquor Store shelves while they are empty of US whiskeys. We all need to advocate for 100% BC farm to bottle products.

We did a tour and a tasting of the distillery with Andrew, and it was fantastic. Excellent spirits and very informative. I would highly recommend coming here if you are even remotely interested in how spirits are made. All the staff are friendly and willing to answer questions. Thanks again Andrew for a great tour and tasting.

We had such a lovely time at Okanagan Spirits Craft Distillery in Vernon. We did a tour with Andrew, who was amazing! The tour was the perfect balance of learning about the fascinating history of the distillery and tasting the whiskey. The whiskey choices were varied in flavour and the tasting did a good job of going through the different flavour profiles. The distillery is a welcoming space- I saw kid's toys and a lovely shop, so even if you yourself are not a whiskey fan, it's still a great experience!

My dad was treated very poorly by this casino. I wouldn’t recommend at all, they told him he has a 3 month ban and then changed it to a year without any notification. Told him “if he apologizes I will think about it.” A worker named Jesse. My dad is charismatic and was winning (rare for this establishment) and was happy/loud. Jesse approaches him and tells him to settle down and cuts him off, my dad laughs it off and it was addressed with brute force. My father is not an angry man, but was asking questions, which Jesse did not think was okay. Completely unreasonable reaction, explain to people, talk, treat them with respect.

What a cool little space! Tons of honey related products for sale and a really fun little learning space for kids. I really liked seeing the indoor hives and trying to find the queen bee. If you have kids this is a cool place to visit. They have activities for the kids. Their garden is just little niches surrounding the parking lot. There are bee hives around so bee aware lol 😆 the gift shop is definitely the highlight. They have everything from honey, tea, kit hen items, gifts etc. There is also a free meal tasting and a tasting area for the various flavors of honey they make. There is an indoor hive as well that you can see the hive and the girls working hard. See if you can spot the queen!

We visited the Planet Bee Honey Farm when we visited a friend for her graduation. We loved our time at the Farm. The bees were active and the flowers were beautiful and we got to experience it at its peak. The staff was very knowledgeable and had fun showing us where the queen bee was and explaining to us about the inner workings. I did the mead tasting and the women who led the tasting was also very knowledgeable and engaging. It tasted lovely and we left with a couple bottles. The honey tasting was also pretty cool and we brought a few jars home too. This was a really great experience and thing to do and we recommend it to all ages, families, girls trips and all!

Checked out Planet Bee Honey Farm. They have all things honey related. Mead bottles are $15.00 to $40.00. Loved that you can sample two dozen honey flavours; favourites were the chai, peach and iced glacé. The salad dressing/sauces/marinades were also tasty. - Mead tasting - complimentary tasting of four meads; Okanagan delight, melaina’s muse, ode to Odin and nectar of the sun. - Peach honey ($12.00 for 500g) - very peachy. Sweet Little Stop with Lots to See! Planet Bee Honey Farm is a great place for a quick and fun stop! We enjoyed exploring their mini garden filled with bee trivia—perfect for kids and adults alike. They have a lovely selection of gifts, souvenirs, and even honey wine to sample and bring home. It’s a charming spot to learn a little, shop a little, and enjoy the buzz of the bees. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area! 🐝🍯🌼

Sights & Landmarks
Davison Orchards Country Village is a family-run apple orchard that has become a popular attraction for families. Visitors can enjoy tractor-drawn tours through the orchard, where guides share the history and operations of the orchard. The village features playgrounds, animal feeding areas with sheep, goats, and chickens, as well as a gift shop and cafe.
Davison Orchards is such a great place to visit! Not only do they have amazing produce like sweet corn and juicy cherries, but they also offer fresh pressed apple juice that tastes naturally sweet and refreshing. It feels like you’re drinking pure sunshine in a glass. The whole atmosphere here is very welcoming and family and friendly. There are beautiful farm views, fun areas for kids to explore, and it’s just a relaxing spot to spend an afternoon. The market area is busy but organized, with lots of local products to browse. It’s more than just shopping for produce it’s a full experience. Definitely a must-stop if you’re in Vernon or nearby.

We had such a wonderful time at Davison Orchards — it’s truly one of the best family-friendly places to visit! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always smiling and ready to help. You can really feel that they love what they do and take pride in making visitors feel at home. The food was absolutely delicious — everything tasted fresh and homemade. We especially loved the pies, apple juice, and farm-to-table meals at the café. You can tell everything is made with care using local ingredients. The farm animals were another highlight! The kids (and even us adults) had so much fun feeding and petting them. It’s such a great experience to get close to the animals and learn a bit about farm life. The views of the orchard and surrounding hills are breathtaking, and the atmosphere is so peaceful and relaxing. We also enjoyed exploring the farm market and picking up some local goodies to take home. Overall, Davison Orchards is a must-visit spot if you’re in Vernon or anywhere nearby. Perfect for families, couples, or anyone who wants to enjoy nature, great food, and genuine hospitality. Highly recommended! 🍎🌻🐐

We visited this place over the summer, and it’s one of the best family-friendly place. The farm market and orchard are absolutely beautiful. The views of the orchard and surrounding areas were mesmerizing. We also enjoyed exploring the farm market and taking the tour — the guides were knowledgeable and very friendly. We got to pick some apples, which were juicy and delicious! Since it wasn’t the main picking season, we couldn’t do much picking, but we did get some fresh apple juice and sauces — everything was so flavorful and delicious.

We just visited Davison Orchards a few days ago for the first time. What an amazing place!! Our whole family enjoyed the 3 hours we spent there. From the amazing farm cafe, frozen apple juice, orchard tour and touring the grounds and markets. It is beautiful scenic place to visit. Highly recommend!!

Lovely place, plenty of activities for kids and adults, food is delicious but pricey. Atmosphere is amazing, tours and pick your own fruit is fun and must do activity. Personnel is friendly, the place is clean and we do visit this orchard every time we are in Vernon.it can get crowded on weekends and you might have challenging time findind parking. Overall I highly recommend it.

A bit of a drive to come here from Penticton but totally worth it, especially in fall season! Lots of photo opportunities, and lots of fresh produce to buy directly where it's grown. Huge store with all kinds of cute stuff for home and gifts that alone is worth visiting! Delicious ice cream where they blend actual fruit of your choice (blueberry was yum and a very generous portion!). And we got to see some farm animals! They offer tours around the orchards but the last one is at 4pm and we came at 5.

We had such an amazing time at Davison Orchards this fall! 🍂🎃 The pumpkin patch was absolutely beautiful — so many sizes and colors to choose from! The fall foliage around the farm made the whole place look magical and perfect for photos. 🍁✨ We enjoyed walking around, picking our pumpkins, and just soaking in the cozy autumn vibes. The staff were friendly and everything was well-organized. Definitely one of the best spots to experience the fall season — we’ll be back again next year! 🧡

We planned our holiday around visiting Davison Orchards. It is an amazing place, and fantastic if you have young kids. This was our second visit. The first was when our son was 6 and this time he is 13. We have such great memories of this place. If you go, definitely do the tractor train ride. You get to pick and eat the most current crop that is ready. The first time, we ate corn on the cob picked directly from the plant and it was amazing! This time we picked delicious apples. The tour guides are knowledgeable and very friendly. The frozen apple juice is delicious so we bought a big jug of it to take on our road trip. The sandwiches are delicious too and the peaches… I bought a big box to share with friends when we got home. We love this place!

My husband and I went rafting with this company and had an absolutely amazing time! They truly do an incredible job. It was my first time ever going rafting, and I couldn’t have picked a better experience. The river was perfect for beginners; fun, friendly and not overwhelming but definitely not boring either. Bruce and Matt added just the right touch of spice to make it exciting without ever making us feel unsafe. They clearly love what they do and it shows. Highly recommend this if you're looking for a mix of fun, adventure, and great vibes!

We had such an amazing time with Adam’s River Rafting! Our guide, Josh, was absolutely fantastic — friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone felt safe and had fun the whole trip. I went with my mom, my two kids, and my two nieces, and it was the perfect mix of excitement and laughs for all ages. The scenery was gorgeous, the water was refreshing, and Josh kept the energy high while pointing out interesting sights along the way. Josh, our guide was awesome. And Dave our bus driver was great and took some great photos. The rafting experience was totally awesome. We did a little cliff diving, swam in the rapids, got some great waves. It was well worth the time. Thank you Adams River Rafting crew.

Absolute blast with the family. The river is super warm for Canada and this is pretty tame compared to the Kicking Horse or other more intense options, so excellent for anyone that might be a bit apprehensive. Totally safe for kids and older folks. But it was super fun, there's time to swim, jumping off a little cliff, and even some first nations history. Good outfit. My kids loved it.

Definitely worth your time to stop here during your summer vacation and meet all these amazing donkeys! Each one has their own unique personality & their name tags makes it fun to share which donkeys you loved the most in the car ride home. My daughters and I enjoyed meeting all the donkeys so much that we returned the next day for another visit! This place is very clean so you don't need to worry about stopping here in Chase with your kids on your way through to your summer destination. All these donkeys would not still be here if wasn't for the loving & caring staff/owners that take in these donkeys to live out their best lives in a safe & healthy enviroment with their new donkeys friends! We are already making plans to go back next summer.

This experience was so heart warming and educational. We absolutely loved our time here with friends and can't thank the wonderful loving people who run this refuge enough for what they do. Their entire goal is to give these adorable creatures a forever home after being rescued from unsuitable homes where they were either neglected or sadly worse. It's the work of true Angels among us and they deserve all the support and praise. Thank you for spending time with us and teaching us so many fun facts about these fun loving animals ♥️🙏

Such a lovely farm and the cutest donkeys! There were many to see and they all have plenty of space to roam around. There were several volunteers working on a Saturday after Labor day weekend when I visited. They were either cleaning up lots of donkey poop or treating them for minor things, and all of them were gentle and kind to the beautiful animals. You are able to walk right up to their enclosures and pet them, which many of them want you to do! Some of them will tell at you if you don't pet them enough or walk away from them lol. A must visit if you're nearby! Spent about an hour here and glad I included it in my roadtrip.

Great little spot for a paddle. A fisherman was coming in with a nice catch and a family was swimming when we arrived at the day use area. Saw lots of different birds. Plenty of room for multiple vehicles. There's a pit toilet across the road from the lake.

Beautiful little lake. Well stocked so the fishing is usually decent. I always like going here. And the hiking trail to the pillar is great. Some challenging spots for the beginner.

It's so beautiful, and the hike to the pillar is short. But it was a bit steep and scary for me on the way down. As for facilities, there is an outhouse, but being your own TP. And a small parking lot on the other side of the highway from the pillar hike.

We spent a few days at sun peaks skiing but this dog sledding was by far our favorite thing! Chris, the owner and his wife really take good care of these dogs. They know all 40+ of them by name and know all their personalities. Our tour guide Liam was great and my husband and I were very warm in the sled, even though it was snowing the whole time. The dogs are super friendly and love what they do. We will come back here for sure!!

We were visiting family in Sun Peaks who been dog sledding last year and loved it. We went on the hour long tour and can say it was the highlight of our holiday. Chris collected us from the village and drove us up to the base. All of the dogs are clearly loved and well cared for and enjoy their work pulling the sleds. We had time to meet and stroke our sled team before the tour and then afterwards time to stroke all the dogs and meet the amazing litter of puppies - just adorable!! Travelling through the forest was simply breathtaking and we stopped at the lake for photos. Our guides Tempe and Andrew were friendly, informative and answered all our questions. I would highly recommend this experience - thank you all so much for such a special and unforgettable experience!

The moment we arrived, we were greeted by a team of energetic, well-cared-for huskies and knowledgeable guides who made us feel welcome and excited for the journey ahead. The sled ride itself was absolutely breathtaking—gliding through a pristine winter wonderland, surrounded by snow-covered trees and crisp mountain air, was like something out of a dream. The dogs were incredible, full of enthusiasm and strength, and it was heartwarming to see how much they love running. What truly stood out was the opportunity to interact with the dogs! Thanks so much for the experience!

We had amazing experience with Mountain Man Dog Sled Adventures. Taryn made a last minute booking very easy. Chris was very friendly and knowledgeable. Liam made our sled ride enjoyable. The scenery was magnificent. But it’s the dogs that steal the show. They clearly love being on the trail and there was plenty of time to interact with them after. Meeting the puppies was also a highlight. We would recommend the experience. Chris and his team clearly love the dogs and the experiences they create for guests.

Visitors can expect to receive wonderful insights into various wines along with great family stories from the host, Shelley. The winery boasts a diverse selection of wines including Merlot, White Ortega, Sparkling Wine, and Kerner white wine.
Girl’s weekend found us stopping at this hidden unsuspecting gem. Now one of my top wine tasting experiences. Doug and Nick are so proud of their wines. The time they spent with us answering all our questions about soil to sales was greatly appreciated. We had so many laughs! There is no need for pressure sales the wine sells itself and Doug simply recommends buying what you like! That’s some honest business practice right there! 10/10 would recommend a little jaunt across the river to the county side to explore this winery!

The BC Wildlife Park in Kamloops is a truly special place that leaves you with a full heart. It’s more than just a zoo — it’s a rescue and rehabilitation center for animals native to British Columbia. Over 60% of the animals here have been rescued, and the park does an incredible job of educating and connecting people to wildlife and nature. You’ll see grizzly bears, arctic wolves, cougars, birds of prey, and more. There’s also a picnic area, a small water park for kids, a mini train ride, a gift shop, café, amphitheatre, and a petting zoo. It’s spacious, well-organized, and a perfect place for families or anyone who cares about animals and the environment. Highly recommended!

Visited in September. BC Wildlife Park was a sweet and memorable stop. Loved seeing the rescued animals—they looked safe and well cared for, which was really heartwarming. Owl Talk was a definite highlight! Getting up close to such a beautiful bird was amazing. The observation hive was super cool too. The spirit bear is the standout, but no luck spotting it this time. Still, a lovely visit overall.

We had such an amazing time at BC Wildlife Park. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. Unfortunately, we missed the train ride, but there was still so much to see and enjoy. The park is very family-friendly, with great facilities for all ages. One highlight for me was seeing the cougar laying right at the gate, such a beautiful moment! Also, I absolutely loved the honey in the gift shop definitely worth picking up a jar.

We absolutely love the place. They only have rescued animals and the have signs telling you the story of each animal plus really interesting facts about that animal species. We went in a hot sunny summer day so recommend to bring a hat and a ton of sun screen. The splash zone they have was a blast that gave us some relief from the hot weather. We were able to see so many animals (recommend checking the feeding schedule), we love the bears they have in particular the white one which is only found in BC. They have some timings for you to go a pet some goats and sheep they have, they even provide brushes which are like a spa for the animals, they love to be pet and are super friendly and cute
Carolina J — Google review
A bit disappointed by the facilities. Needs renovations. The train 🚂 was not running unfortunately. Off season prices too expensive. When we arrived at 10:30am there was almost no animals out it felt very strange, like an abandoned old zoo. Later on we saw more but some of the cages were not looking very clean. The birds section was great. It is nice to have the story of the rescue of each animal. They definitely should replace most of the fences by glasses. Not that much of “wild” animal.
Lou L — Google review
Visited BC Wildlife Park on Canada Day, and despite the hot weather, we had a wonderful time. We got to see a variety of animals, including the bear, which was a highlight. Though not as many animals as you'd expect from a zoo since this is wildlife refuge. The little train ride was a fun and relaxing way to explore the park, especially for kids. One of the best features on a hot day was the water sprinklers, the kids had a blast cooling off and running through them. The park is well laid out with shaded areas and great for families. A fun, educational, and refreshing day out, highly recommended!
Jas S — Google review
This is such an extraordinary place to go. There's a vast amount of things to learn, and Animals to see. It took about an hour to walk around the park, but was very easy for me even with a bad hip. The grizzlys were super interactive as well. Definitely worth the drive. I'll be coming back with my kids.
Paige D — Google review
We visited late on a hot July afternoon and only had 1.5 hrs to tour. As expected, it was hit and miss with seeing the animals in their enclosures, and at that time of day we had the park pretty much to ourselves. That said, everything appeared to be well laid out, well signed, and reasonably priced. We enjoyed the birds of prey exhibit, and noted there is a family farm where visitors can interact with farm animals. Judging from the sandwich board sign of the day’s activities it is better to arrive in the morning to take advantage of feedings and demonstrations.

Super scenery! Fishing this time was slow... But still very relaxing.

The road into the west campground is horrendous and needs to be fixed. Plus the boat launch is ridiculously shallow and needs some TLC. Love the lake if that's any consolation.
Todd C — Google review
Very nice spot. Peaceful. Serene. Only complaint is sites are not very level. But overall amazing spot.
Manuel G — Google review
Friendly staff, and the restaurant has good food. Lovely lake, great fishing. Their tap/drinking water comes from the lake, and tastes of fish and swamp. The coffee and tea are affected as well. Next visit I will bring more of my own water!

Best fishing lake in BC. You need a boat because there are few places to wade and trees stop you from shore casting. In May/June you can't miss with trolls, flys, or bait. Provincial sites are fine and they have a nice boat launch but it is way better if you can get into one of the sites at the resort. $30/night/site gives you a pool, store, hot showers. Great quad trails nearby and lots of smaller lakes to explore. I do a week every year plus a couple of weekends if I can make it work.

Wonderful facilities and fishing. UPDATE: Park Operators, Barry and Paul, are excellent for the 2023 season. I have never seen the park look so well kept, have been attending Roche Provincial for 15+ years.

My favorite medium sized lake in BC. So many amazing fishing trips here. For me it really is a World Class Fly Fishing Lake!! The sites do not get raked and the fire pits do not get emptied. When I PAY for a site I like it to start like I leave it...... CLEAN. With that said there is toilet paper in the outhouses and they pick up the bear proof garbage and your money without fail.
Jay E — Google review
Some of the best lakes in the region for fly fishing. Roche, Black, Horseshoe, all fished very well, but Frisken was slow and high algae bloom with few fish this season. Large open campsites, but very busy. Resort is nice with reasonably good food in their restaurant, and lots of boats to rent.

Riverside Park in Kamloops, British Columbia is a picturesque green space located along the Thompson River. It offers a variety of outdoor activities and amenities for visitors to enjoy. The park features a sandy public river beach, perfect for swimming and relaxing by the water. Additionally, there are recreation paths that wind through the park, providing opportunities for leisurely strolls or bike rides.
This is a really nice riverside park. It should be very popular for locals in summer. The new water park is great for kids. If you bring kids make sure you bring the swim suits, they can enjoy the water park in hot summer. There are many tables and benches in shady area. The beach is beautiful with the sunset too. It's good for the whole family have fun and walk there no matter you are locals or visitors. The parking lot is big and free after 5pm. A park you should go for a walk.

Green heart of Kamloops! A beautiful Riverside Park that’s perfect for all ages! The water park is a great spot for kids to cool off in the summer, and there are plenty of benches and picnic tables in the shady areas for a relaxing break. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, it’s a lovely place for a walk. Don’t miss the Rose Garden and the peaceful Japanese Garden — they add a special touch to the park. A must-visit in warm weather!

The greenery and open spaces make it ideal for family picnics, kids’ playtime, or just sitting by the water to enjoy the view. There are plenty of benches and shaded areas to relax, and the calm sound of the flowing river adds to the park’s charm. It’s also a great spot for photography, casual gatherings, and enjoying fresh air away from the busy city. Overall, River Side Park is a refreshing escape into nature — quiet, scenic, and enjoyable for all ages. 🌳✨

Riverside Park in Kamloops is an absolute gem! We visited in the summer and had an amazing time. The park was full of life, families, kids, and people enjoying the beautiful weather. It offers stunning views of the river and has a clean, well-maintained beach that’s perfect for relaxing. The atmosphere is vibrant and peaceful at the same time. A huge thanks to the city government and park management for keeping this place so clean, safe, and welcoming. If you’re around Kamloops, this is definitely a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Riverside Park in Kamloops is a beautiful riverside spot with walking trails, playgrounds, and a splash pad—perfect for families. The views of the Thompson Rivers are stunning, and summer concerts add a lively vibe. Parking can get busy, and shade is limited in some areas. Overall, a clean, relaxing park worth visiting — I’d rate it 4/5 stars.
Parth S — Google review
A beauty of a park for everyone. We visited the park early September. There are many large old trees to sit under for shade from the hot sun, its close by the river and has a long walking path alongside it. I was told there is live entertainment each evening during July and August.

Awesome place to play, watch and have fun in the splash park. They have an updated playground that is wheelchair accessible. The water park is so much fun. We stayed and watched the sunset. It was beautiful. Would definitely come back

Excellent amenities, busy with lots going on, this is a great gathering place. Great people watching, lots of entertainment, and a lot of shade on hot summer days. There was even a concert when I was there on a Thursday! There is a water park, limited parking, a swimming beach area that is sectioned off so it is a safe place to swim in the river, paved trails and much more.

Nestled in the heart of Kamloops, British Columbia, McArthur Island Park is a sprawling green oasis that beckons both locals and travelers to indulge in outdoor activities. Spanning over 51 hectares on McArthur Island along the North Thompson River, this park is a vibrant hub for sports enthusiasts and families alike. With its well-maintained baseball and soccer fields, as well as a skate park for thrill-seekers, there's no shortage of ways to stay active.
All parks should be 5 ⭐️ especially this one. Absolutely beautiful park on an island on the Thompson River. Great paved trail that completely circles the entire park. It’s about 3 km. There is lots of parking available and public washrooms also. Lots of green spaces. Lots of benches but no picnic tables. The park supports multiple sports ⚽️ ⚾️🏒🏏🛹🚴‍♂️🥏 also mini golf. Lots of wildlife 🦆🪿🦉🦇🐿️
Kirk D — Google review
Beautiful park for baseball and other activities. As we were there for a baseball tournament (considered an "event") so we were allowed to camp there at a cost of $16.50/night. Lovely facilities with a beautiful 3.2km path along the perimeter of the island. Washrooms and garbage kept up nicely.
Erin P — Google review
It's an island not a park. The design of the park is good. There are a few big sport fields around the road. If you are a visitor, you may drive a little half round of this island. There are many parking and washroom along the road. We go there in the late evening so we didn't see any wild life. If you have time, I think there are a good trail goes around the whole island. I see people using bikes to stroll around. It may take some time for a round stroll.

Safe, well maintained park I love coming to Mac Park for a morning blade. Beautiful venue for soccer and ball. Great paved running path. Hockey arena.

Great location for sports. We've attended the BC youth rugby 7s tournament here the last 4 years. Super jealous that Kelowna doesn't have anything comparable. No wonder they call themselves the tournament capital! Good job, Kamloops:)
Matt F — Google review
This park’s a full-on activity hub. You’ve got soccer fields, baseball diamonds, a skatepark, disc golf, and even a big indoor sports centre. I liked the 3.1 km paved loop — great for walking or rollerblading, and it passes through some peaceful riparian areas with birdwatching spots. It’s family-friendly and well-maintained, with lots of free parking. Downsides? No dogs allowed, which might be a dealbreaker for some, and it can feel a bit too busy during tournaments or summer weekends. Some areas could use more shade or seating. Still, it’s one of the most versatile parks in town.
Joon C — Google review
Lovely walking trails, lots of wildlife and great sporting facilities

I've taken to walking here daily and it is a great place to start getting active. Always clean, and very well looked after. I like that there are several public washrooms available and several different options for how far you want to walk.

Great service at Match in Kamloops by Ashlee R. She went above and beyond and was very attentive to us. Great food. Floor Manager was also very nice, didn't get her name.

So disappointing. Was in town for a wedding, decided to end the night at the casino. A couple groups of us went, the second group arrived at 120am. Approached the bar & was told last call was done at 130am. Started ordering for the group, got bounced to a different bartender bc one wanted to cash out, pass on the order and then was told sorry, cant serve you anymore its 130am. It was implied that they wanted to avoid more work for themselves. Tried a couple slot machines after and both smelled like spoiled food. Bizarre experience. Kamloops is cool though.

Very nice customer service and the setting was clean, the choices of restaurants within the casino.
Reilz C — Google review
While playing poker, the dealer made a mistake and gave the turn to one of the guys he knew from before. That player took advantage of being the last to act and raised, even though he should have been the first to check or raise. We noticed the mistake, and the dealer admitted it was his fault, but no one did anything about it. The dealer was also shuffling the cards by hand, which is unusual since other casinos use machines for that. This is the worst casino I’ve ever been to.

Park
Kenna Cartwright Nature Park is a vast, year-round park with picturesque trails suitable for hiking, cycling, and snowshoeing. It boasts over 40 kilometers of gentle paths and is the largest municipal park in the province. The park offers a variety of trails, from easy to challenging, including wheelchair-accessible options. One of its highlights is the Tower Trail, a family-friendly 3.4-kilometer hike with stunning city views from a viewing platform at the top.
Trail is well maintain! Our dog love it. We walked in black diamond trail and its doable if you walked alot before. Nice view in the top! Free parking, toilet pit in the area, there is a bike repair station near in the parking lot. There is a lot of trail in the area too.
Adette B — Google review
There are quite a few trails here. Most are steep so be ready to go up. The view from the top was great and I felt a good sense of accomplishment when I made it up. We took the main viewpoint trail. It took about 1 hour to go up, hang out a bit at the top, then go down. I would not take my kids. They would have complained a lot. It is all up! There was parking, it was easy to find, there was a bathroom and garbage can at the base of the trail and this was a good trail to try if you are looking for a good little hike and aren’t from town - it was easy to find and it is well marked, you won’t get lost.
Lyndsay A — Google review
A great walk with stunning views. You can choose your difficulty level. Watch out for trail bikes coming down. Easiest way was to park off hillside. Beautiful views.
Kimberly C — Google review
Lovely short and quiet hike. Trail was well kept. You get beautiful views of the town & the surrounding mountains. If you have time to spare, definitely come explore this place. Tower trail goes straight up btw.
Raheel K — Google review
Some very challenging hiking trails. Make sure you bring loads of water and a wide brimmed hat, because shade can be scarce. Some parts of the trail were quiet, mostly you could hear the highways.
Cam M — Google review
Kenna Cartwright Nature Park is a gem for anyone into hiking, biking, or just soaking up views. The trail network is huge, with options for all skill levels, and the scenery — especially at sunset — is unreal. You get panoramic views of Kamloops, the rivers, and even Kamloops Lake from some spots. It’s dog-friendly too, which is a bonus. Downsides? Some trails are poorly marked, so it’s easy to get turned around if you’re new. Also, parts of the park are pretty exposed, so bring water and sun protection. Still, it’s one of the best places in Kamloops to get outside and feel like you’re miles away from the city.
Riya S — Google review
This is the place to hike if you want an all-encompassing view of Kamloops from above. The trail doubles as a service road to the cellular towers on top of the mountain. Thus it is wide, smooth, and impossible to veer off course. The trail is very short but the gradient is steep all the way up the mountain. It's a hike that promises great rewards for little time and effort. Highly recommended.
