Black Mountain Water Park in Hua Hin is a sprawling water recreation complex spread over 40,000 square meters, just 15 minutes from the town center. It offers an array of attractions including nine slides, a towering vertical slide tower, six pools (including a wave pool that creates the largest waves in Thailand), and a lazy river. The park also features dining facilities and operates with high safety standards and trained lifeguards.
Perfect spot for a relaxed family day - kids loved the safe water rides, we enjoyed the peaceful vibe and good food. Just make sure to arrange a ride back in advance, as taxis aren’t always eager to come here
Denis G — Google review
We had a fantastic day out at the black mountain water park with our kids ages 11 and under. We went during the week so it was quiet with no waits for the rides. The park is a perfect size to feel relaxed and not frantic. There are lots of seating areas around the park. Also the restaurant is very well priced and the food is tasty. I recommend buying tickets online in advance as it is cheaper that way. Lockers are available free of charge with a 200baht deposit. Lastly, this place doesn’t have the bigger rides or more thrill seeking rides like vana nava but there’s more than enough to keep everyone happy. Oh and the wave pool was an absolute favourite.
Elisa O — Google review
My partner and our 3 kids (aged 1, 5, and 11 years old) visited this waterpark on a quiet, slightly rainy, Tuesday afternoon. The park is small but surprisingly there's plenty to do. There is a pool for younger children in the corner of the park which is great, along with the lazy river. Then there's the wave pool and of course the big slides which are for the older children. The restaurant food was not bad but could do with more variety. NOTE: Please be aware they the red and green coloured floor around the entire park is horrendously slippery when wet. Whoever decided this was a good idea was wrong and they need to replace it before someone is hurt, it's terrible, we had to keep to the none coloured part which is much safer to walk on. The toilets are also like an ice rink when wet. Worth the admission fee of about 1500 baht for all of us.

This place is magical. A fantastic water park that deserves more visitors. We were there during Thailand's low season, and there were maybe 20 visitors in total. Prices: We paid 800 baht for a round-trip tuk-tuk. I’m glad we booked the return trip as well—there was one tuk-tuk when we were ready to leave, and I think it was there to pick someone else up. The area is quite remote, so make sure you arrange your return in advance. Entrance fee: 600 baht for adults. In Thailand, you’re often considered an adult based on your height, so my 13-year-old was charged as an adult. We paid at the park. Lockers: 200 baht deposit, which you get back. Food: You need a food card, and you have to load money onto it. Any remaining balance is refunded when you return the card. Soda: 30 baht Burger: 200 baht (250 with cheese) Fries: 100 baht So a bit more expensive than in restaurants, but still very affordable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It’s located about 20 minutes outside the city center by tuk-tuk. Maintenance was surprisingly good, and everything was clean. This park is cheaper than the other one, and it has slides for kids, the cautious, and the daredevils. Wave pool with 10 minutes of waves and 30 minutes pause. There’s nothing to think about—set aside a full day here. We left at 3 PM because that’s when our tuk-tuk was coming back, but we really wished we could’ve stayed all day.

Nice water park. Not many people on Monday. 1800 THB for 2 adults and 2 kids above 110 cm.
Dasha D — Google review
It's a great place for family fun! The waterslides are exciting and adrenaline-pumping! The pools are clean and spacious, and the staff at the entrance are very welcoming. They have one restaurant on site, though.

Good fun water place if you love laid on sun bed where’s plenty of them available here!! Nice clean place with fresh air no smoker on sight during ours time there. Affordable price to entry book 1 day advance to save for food there. Wave pool is the fun part give them a try.
Ratchanee M — Google review
I have been bringing my child to this water park almost every week. While the park itself is enjoyable, I have some serious concerns. The front desk staff, especially those selling tickets, often seem unfriendly and curt in their communication. We usually visit on Saturdays to take advantage of the half-price promotion, and the prices themselves are reasonable—150 THB for children and 300 THB for adults. However, I strongly believe the park should define “child” tickets by age, not height. Some children are naturally taller because of their parents’ genetics, and it’s not their fault. It feels unfair when one child has to pay an adult price just because of height, while their friends pay less. If this height-based rule is strictly followed, does that mean a dwarf who doesn’t meet the height requirement would be charged a child ticket? This policy is honestly quite absurd. Also, if someone enters the park but doesn’t use any of the facilities, it would make much more sense to allow the entrance fee to be deducted from food or drink purchases inside. That would be a fairer and more customer-friendly approach. I’ve lived in Hua Hin for decades—I’m not a tourist. I’ve supported many local businesses over the years, but after this experience, I’m truly disappointed. As a regular customer, I expected better service and understanding. Unfortunately, this will be my last visit.

Hutsadin Elephant Foundation

Foundation
Nature & Parks
Nature & Wildlife Areas
Nestled in Thailand, the Hutsadin Elephant Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing elephants from exploitative situations and providing them with a safe haven. Visitors can engage in various activities such as trekking with the elephants, feeding them, and experiencing life as a mahout. The foundation offers an ethical way for guests to interact with these majestic creatures, allowing them to walk alongside the elephants, feed them, and even shower them at the end of their visit.
If you want to see elephants, support this place! Do your research and do not go to alternative nearby spots. You can’t ride an elephant here, though no one needs nor should ride an elephant. The educational piece is great and the elephants are well looked after. There are four elephants, all either with health concerns or rescues. Yes they’re chained, but it’s necessary. They’re lined to reduce friction and they're given more freedom in the evenings. Nice venue with statues and the whole team was great, you can feel the love for these animals. Highly recommend.
Michael T — Google review
A great and ethical elephant sanctuary. They have 4 elephants and the activities you can do with them are awesome. No riding thankfully. But to walk, feed and bathe the elephants is a fantastic experience. It is slightly on the touristy side as they will offer you multiple opportunities to buy trinkets or donate, so bring extra cash and don't be stingy. The operation is efficient, easy to understand and fun. If you choose the walking activity (which I highly recommend) you'll have multiple opportunities to get photos. If you decide to view the temple on site, be sure to dress appropriately as it IS a working temple.
Sara K — Google review
Having spent some time researching local elephant sanctuaries, this one seemed the most legitimate and it was. Other local companies are exploitative of the elephants, whereas these are rescue ones who are impeccably well cared for and loved by the volunteers and that comes across when you’re there. We paid for the walk with them and we walked with Song Gram, the teenage elephant who when you say thank you to her she toots her trunk! She’d been rescued from a circus near Bangkok and they were rehabilitating her and hope to release into the wild. The tour was excellent and they explained how they give them free time on the mountain and are only linked up for short periods, but the chain on the leg itself is plastic so won’t hurt. There’s a small gift shop there selling t shirts, key rings etc, or you can buy handmade jewellery from the mahouts (elephant carer) to supplement their income. Overall, I’d fully recommend this charity and heavily recommend researching the other local companies before going. There’s no need to ride an elephant.
Adam E — Google review
A nice stop to get close and personal with rescue elephants without promoting irresponsible business. This small foundation, located on a thai chinese temple ground, only has 4 rescued elephants. The animals are well cared for by volunteers. Visitors are only allowed to have a short 20-min walk with a little feeding and showering interaction - with the option of an educational class (charged extra). The price to pay must be seen in my opinion as a donation to help the foundation maintain their rescued elephants rather than a ticket for an "elephants experience". Overall and after visiting many "elephants camps" in Thailand, we liked this place. The enthusiasm and passion of the volunteer we met gave us a positive feeling about the foundation and how they operate.
Chiara A — Google review
Love this place. Rescue centre for Elephants. No riding or tricks ,just good care for Elephants. Can walk with them , shower them and feed them. Staff are polite and friendly and don't try to sell you stuff. Runs on donations
Andrew W — Google review
It was a wonderful encounter with the elephants followed by education about the animals and their past. Yes, the elephants are often chained up, which is also explained on site and why this is the case. Of course, it would be best if all elephants lived in freedom, but unfortunately this is a utopia. You pay a fair entrance fee and then have the opportunity to donate and/or give tips on site. But you are not pressurised to do so. The entrance fee includes a bottle of water and an ice cream. Whether the Foundation makes a profit from this or not and whether the money goes entirely to animal welfare is, of course, not something you can know, but you have to decide whether you trust the honesty of the Foundation that this is true. The elephants are certainly much better off, even if they still live in captivity and are used as an attraction. But somehow the money for their expensive keeping has to come in. What really bothered me, however, was that the mahout advertised his bracelets as being "made from elephant teeth" on the card. In my opinion, that's a no-go. Apart from that, I can recommend the place and hope that the elephants continue to have a dignified and beautiful life.
A. C — Google review
This is a self funded , nonprofit organization, which rescued injured and unwanted elephants and treats them with food and shelter. The guide was quite knowledgeable and helpful. We fed bananas to the elephants and walked along with the elephant in the designated path . Later we bathed elephants. The cost is 800 Thai Bhat per person. The receptionist also offered us nice ice cream. We enjoyed our visit here
Samir S — Google review
Great experience! We came on Monday because there were English speaking volunteers but they ended up leaving at 12pm (we came around 3pm). But our guide was amazing, spoke great English and was very informative. We walked, fed and bathed the elephant. It was 800 Baht total per person. The elephants are all rescues and look to be taken care of well. They did not push for donations and did provide ice cream at the end. I would definitely recommend going here over other locations!

Outdoor Activities
Hua Hin Beach is a popular destination along the Gulf of Thailand, offering clear waters and soft, powdery sand. It's known for its unmatched Thai hospitality and a wide range of exciting activities. The area is not as crowded as other tourist spots, making it perfect for a leisurely day by the sea. Visitors can enjoy water sports like kiteboarding and kitesurfing due to consistent winds. The beach also boasts lovely beachfront hotels with direct access or public areas for relaxation.
Very nice beach with warm waters to swim. Small shops on the way to the beach. Kids and adults had a good time walking along the water and exploring small animals. There were plenty of horse-riding options available at a charge of 250-300 per horse.

Went here and it having food festival.. Berry crowded.. many food and drink stalls.. Music.. Water fountain and lights in the night.. I saw many family here also lovers.. Everyone relaxing and enjoying the views and vibes.. So happy to feel this beach with the festival U can find temples and monkeys too Aaaah elephant village too
Netty M — Google review
This is one long beachfront for the numerous hotels and condos. Except for the northern tip there is basically no place to sit and enjoy. The white sand is mostly washed away. Dirty with plastics in many places. Jet skis drive very close to the coast making it dangerous to swim. A lot of horse handlers walk the beach looking for customers. Is a sad scene honestly.
Gregor H — Google review
This beach is nice but crowded. I rented a chair with umbrella roof for 100b. It started to rain and the umbrella roof didn’t help. I ordered a coconut smoothie for 70b. Both were expensive I thought. I’ll check out a different area of the beach next time.
SICILIAN-AMERICAN — Google review
This beach somehow disappointed me in every way. I did not expected this but yeah seems like very much under developed one Will update it as I am planning to visit again
Muhammad D — Google review
This is a long beach, so I'll focus on the northern end bounded by Hilton since that is my preferred part of the beach. The reason is simply the ability to get deck chairs, loungers and food brought to you without having to use one of the beachfront resorts. There's about 20 deck chair vendors and in low season, there's not really enough customers to go around. The food and drinks cover the standard Thai options. The food is pretty overpriced, but that's the price you pay for convenience. Some people mentioned clean water, but it didn't look clean to me. I was there during low season and there weren't that many beach activities other than horse riding. In the 7 days on the beach I saw one group take a banana boat ride and one jet ski ride, so the activities do run if there are enough people.
Chung H — Google review
Have many rocks here but it's nice , the only place you can get shade if you get a table. Food good and beers around 70 bht for a small my club sandwich 200 bht , tables normal free if you order . Not bad. Can check out youtube video. @chilishot5760 .
Peter K — Google review
Hua Hin Beach is a beautiful place to watch the sunrise. The beach faces east, so the sun rises directly over the sea. In the early morning, the sky changes color—orange, pink, and gold. The beach is quiet, with only a few people walking or monks collecting alms. The sand is soft, and the sound of waves is peaceful. It is a perfect time to relax and enjoy nature. A good spot to see the sunrise is in front of Centara Grand Beach Resort. This area has rocks and coconut trees, making the view more special. Another nice place is Khao Takiab Beach, which is quieter and has a clear view of the sunrise. If you visit Hua Hin, I recommend waking up early to see the sunrise. It is a peaceful and beautiful experience that you will remember.

Cicada Market is a vibrant weekend night market in Hua Hin, offering a wide array of art, clothing, decor, and handmade goods from local vendors. It serves as a platform for artists, designers, and creators to connect with tourists and the community through cultural integration. The market features contemporary art in various forms including handmade decorative items, fashion clothes, secondhand items, and innovative SME products. Visitors can also enjoy creative activities such as workshops, exhibitions, performances, dance shows and music.
Whilst the experience buying food was lacklustre, the kind of shopping you can do at cicada market was really unique! Many skilled craftsmen selling their crafts which you can bring home. Live music and magic show was also very lively, overall still enjoyed ourselves here :)
Onc19 — Google review
The market offers a variety of performances, as well as art and food for sale (though the taste might be a bit bland for a Thai like me). If you want to buy food, exchange your coupon first. I also recommend the massage shop at the very back. The masseuses are very skilled. I felt so comfortable that I fell asleep during the massage.

Cicada Market is a must-visit in Hua Hin. It's a fantastic night market with a wonderful atmosphere. It stands out from other markets because it's not just about shopping; it's a great spot for art and entertainment. The market has a wide variety of stalls, especially for handmade crafts, jewelry, artwork, home decor, and clothing. It's the perfect place to find unique, locally made souvenirs and gifts. There are also live performances and music, which really adds to the vibrant energy of the place. It's clear that many international tourists enjoy this market, which gives it a lively, multicultural feel. For food, there's a large food center where you need to purchase coupons before ordering, which makes the process smooth and easy. The food options are great and cater to different tastes. Parking is available across the street. While there's a fee, the lot is large. The overall landscape of the market is beautiful and well-maintained. If you're looking for a market with good food, beautiful art, and a lively vibe, Cicada Market is the place to be. Highly recommended.

A wonderful night market with good food, good vibe and interesting artisan stalls. The pad thai hor kai, oyster omelette, coconut ice cream, and mango smoothie are all very delicious. There is a shadow show with a teenager singing and playing the shadow character, which is very interesting.

Great night market with lots of arts, handcrafted goods and live music and live acts all around, also some activities for kids to enjoy. The food variety offers something for everyone, but I would still recommend to go for authentic Thai dishes, there is so much, you may have to come multiple times 😊 It’s very convenient to get there, paid parking spaces are also available for 50 thb.

Vana Nava Water Jungle is a jungle-themed water park in Hua Hin, Thailand. It features 19 thrilling rides and activities, including The Abyss, Thailand's largest waterslide, and The AquaLoop with fantastic loop-the-loops. In addition to the rides, there are multiple pools, an obstacle course, shops, and fast food restaurants on the premises. This entertainment complex offers lifestyle activities for all ages and has become a significant destination in Thailand's tourism map.
The garden is large, spacious, and safe, and has excellent service. There are people who take care of the service all the time. There are a lot of food for sale, but the price is quite high. But the food is delicious. Fun and thrilling rides But continue to play the rides, but it's a bit long because there are quite a lot of people. The bathroom is clean. Suitable for having fun with many friends or family.

Large and beautiful water park in Hua Hin which is a must visit if you are here on a family holiday. We were there when it opened at 11am and were there all day until 5pm. We booked a deal via trip.com for around 1200thb per person which included towel, locker, VR and buffet. I didn't try VR myself. But the feedback from the kids was that it was quite disappointing in terms of experience and the resolution of the technology itself. When it comes to the food, I thought the buffet was a good deal for the price we paid. With the buffet option you can get as much food, drinks and snacks as you want until an hour before closing time. It's not food you'll dream about afterwards. But it's totally fine. There is a lot of choice of food stations around the place. The prices seemed totally ok. We got there at 11am when it opened and it wasn't until 1200 that it was crowded. At 3-4 pm there were significantly fewer people. Missed more info about the place, especially regarding food and dining options in advance and on the website. So here they can definitely improve. Thats why I also took alot of images from the food menues around Vana Nada to help other in the same situation. Tip: check around on both trip.com, Klook for the best deal!

The overall experience is really good but let me get one point across first. I don't know for others, but for me I feel like the floor type they have is not barefoot friendly so keep that in mind. (They do have waterproof shoes for sale but those are extra expenses.) I also heard that booking beforehand could be cheaper but I don't know for sure. The buffet is also ok, it's not amazing but it's not bad either. But I suggest adding credits to your wristbands and buy food from the stalls. That way, it might not be better pound-for-pound but it's more convenient and there are more diverse options. (Not cheap but not too expensive). Plus point for how many life guards there are. I feel really safe and they have extra security compared to anywhere I've been to. All the rides are quite generic, like all other water parks in Thailand (you can just check that up). Very good hospitality as well, both from tourists and the staffs. Oh, last thing. There's also rock climbing but you will need a sneaker to play it. Checklist - Change of cloths. - Goggles if you want to swim. (Optional) - Towel (optional, can rent) - Shampoo and soap (optional, they have 2 in 1sin every shower room) - waterproof shoes (optional, they have for sale and if you are ok with barefoot then it's fine). - Money for food credits. And if you have glasses, put those in a locker room. Don't wear clothes that hasza zipper or a button at the back because you might not be able to play some rides. Have fun!

I really enjoyed this waterpark—it’s so much fun! There are plenty of rides and attractions, and the slides are long and super exciting. It’s a great place to spend the day, especially with friends. We had such a fun time there, and I’d definitely go back again!

It is a nice water park for the kids and adults There are 3-4 exciting slides, you can choose to sit on the boat to slide from about 30 meters high down to the ground

If you have a family or just enjoy a good water park than this place is right up your alley. The wait times aren't that bad on weekdays and they have enough activities you wont get board. Lots of food options plus even a Vegan menu which was so nice.
Daniel L — Google review
Buy your tickets online (Trip.com or Agoda) — it’s about double the price if you buy at the entrance. Vana Nava Water Jungle is a medium-sized water park, nice enough for a half-day visit. The main restaurant (the one with burgers, fries, nuggets, salmon, etc.) was a big disappointment. What you get compared to the photos is nothing alike — the portions are ridiculously small. I had to order three meals at 300 THB each just to feel barely full. Definitely not great value, and a bit dishonest. Crowds were manageable during our visit, with a maximum wait time of about 30 minutes for the area where four slides share the same tower — although it gets messy there, with people practically stepping on each other. The VR experience didn’t look impressive, so we skipped it. The locker system with the wristband is basic but convenient. There are also a couple of climbing attractions located just to the left of the lockers and buffet restaurant, but unfortunately they were closed when we visited, which was disappointing. Overall, the park is average — nothing amazing. We’ve seen much better elsewhere, but in Thailand, especially Hua Hin, there’s not really any better option.
Mathieu C — Google review
We visited in June and it was really quiet. Service was friendly and the Park was clean. Food buffet was mediocre, but who comes here for food. We came to the Park without knowing how everything works and there was a few misunderstandings on our part. For example we didn't realise that we had to put money to our bracelet beforehand and caused a little confusion. It could have been communicated better by the Park, but the mistake was of course ours.

Not a great beach compared to phuket beaches, water recedes along way so you ll have to walk along way just to swim. Sand is a brown/Gray colour and not compelled to even get in the water . Restaurants along the shore are good but not much open before 12 pm. Lucky to be 2 stars Not going back.

This beach is quiet and medium in size. There’s a few restaurants with loungers and chairs. Also, there’s plenty of empty areas to relax and chill on the beach. Jet ski rentals and banana boat rides available. The water was a little cloudy but still clear enough. Recommended

Ooh so many monkeys!! Quiet, peaceful beach. Lots of beachside restaurants Many boats offering sunset tours I went to find a quiet place to read. Was not disappointed. If you're looking for a quiet, chilled vibe this may be the place for you

Khao Takiab Beach is beautiful, offering the perfect mix of sea and mountain views. It’s very peaceful and clean, with soft sand and not overcrowded. Arriving by bike was easy, with convenient parking just steps away. It has easily become my favorite beach in Hua Hin.

I visited during the Songkran holiday, but it is a good place where there are not many people and the sunrise can be seen beautifully. In particular, rocky mountains create a special mood. The wind is very strong!

Great beach. We were on the beach section associated with the Anantasila hotel, near to the harbour and rock. Soft sand, clean in the section we were in and the water was great for swimming (didn't spot any jelly fish). It was high tide and we originally went to Hua Hin beach (where there was no beach because the tide was so high and the waves were rough!). Much more sheltered here and a good section of beach even at the high tide. Service from the hotel was excellent (we paid 500THB for day pass and got loungers, could use the pool, showers, etc). You could try the other sections, which might be cheaper. Mix of people, relaxed atmosphere, lots of Europeans and also Thais. Yes there were two or three horses and later on there were some dogs but neither were intrusive at all.

Nestled in the picturesque Hua Hin Hills, Monsoon Valley Vineyard is a surprising gem in Thailand's wine scene. Formerly known as Hua Hin Hills, this vineyard produces new latitude wines, defying traditional norms. The lush tropical paradise of Hua Hin Hills provides a stunning backdrop for over 250 acres of vineyards.
We fully enjoyed this vineyard trip! Starting from walking around the vineyard, we had a big rain shower to be soaking during our walk, but it was a great memory for us. The tapas and wine tasting experience was beyond amazing. Under viewing down the vineyard trip, we enjoyed 5 marriages between the dish and the pairing wine. I strongly recommend this experience for wine and food lovers, this is the must to do in Hua hin!
Ichiro66 — Google review
Food was fresh and tasty. Had the wine and tapas tasting. Definitely worth it. The ambience is cooling and different as there are not many vineyards in thailand. Staff was attentive and friendly. Maybe you could have a bigger play area for the kids and have a wine tasting fee that allows customers to taste any wine they choose to.

I enjoyed my experience here. Affordable food and the wine tasting was great. Just unfortunate the weather was bad so couldn’t go for a vineyard tour. The service is great and they are quite friendly staff too. Clean and beautiful

I attended a private theater night event with a 3-course wine pairing meal. It was an incredible experience. We were super lucky with the weather—cool and pleasant, making it a great time to sit in the middle of a vineyard. The food was exceptional, perfectly complementing the classic film Sideways, which delves into intriguing topics about wine. It was a truly memorable evening, and I was grateful for the invitation!

Arrived here on the 10am shuttle from the Monsoon Valley Wine Bar. Journey time approximately 45 minutes. At 11am the group of us were taken on a vineyard tour. English speaking guide and very knowledgeable. The tour lasted about 30 minutes and included in the price of the shuttle from the wine bar if I recall correctly. The views are beautiful and it is well worth seeing. After the vineyard tour a group of us were taken to the elephant 🐘 sanctuary where we were able to feed bananas to two male elephants (6yo 10yo). Didn't last long but still enjoyable and worth doing. Back to the restaurant where we had lunch and wine tasting with tapas. Sadly this is when the place let us down as the tapas did not arrive at the same time as they gave me the wines to taste. The cashew chicken is delicious. As were the tapas. On an aside the views from the toilets are worth seeing

Very good wine and food; with an excellent atmosphere. This is my second visit to the vineyard and noticed this time we pulled up to a booth which required each person pay a cash only 200 ThB fee before you can enter the parking lot. This voucher can be used toward any expense including wine, your meal, or items in the gift shop, etc. They do not have any sweet wine options to choose from, but my party liked the Signature Red wine. The food taste and presentation are very good. I gave the food 4 stars because I thought the amount of food on several plates were a bit sparse. I would have liked to see a slightly larger portion knowing the price paid ~370 ThB per plate. The cheesecake was one of the best I've had in Thailand so far. I am not a big wine person but I don't believe you would be disappointed with this place.

I was genuinely surprised to learn that Thailand produces wine—and even more delighted to discover this stunning vineyard! The setting is absolutely gorgeous: peaceful, scenic, and immaculately maintained. It's the kind of place where you instantly feel relaxed and connected to nature. Whether you're a wine lover or just looking for a unique and tranquil experience, I highly recommend a visit. This vineyard is a true hidden gem that showcases a different side of Thailand—one that’s elegant, serene, and full of pleasant surprises. Definitely worth a visit!

Let’s get the first problem over with John Monsoon, the dessert is awful. I ordered a berry pie and it’s just a shell with berry concentrate filled to the brim, and not even your wine could tune down this deadly sweetness. But apart from their food, I think the wine tastes great! It pairs well with the beautiful, mountain-stretching vineyard. The winetasting tour on the other hand doesn’t bode well with the time I went there. It’s said that the best time to take the tour is in February or March, so I couldn’t be bothered.

Nestled within the KaengKrachan National Park, about 60 km west of Hua Hin, Pa La-U Waterfall offers a picturesque setting with its 16 cascades and ancient forest teeming with rare wildlife. Visitors can embark on moderate to challenging hikes through unspoiled rainforest to reach the waterfall, where they can marvel at the natural beauty and take a refreshing dip in pools filled with wild carp fish.
Beautiful waterfalls with 5 levels that are available for tourists. In total the waterfalls have 15 levels which you can see on a map at the entrance. You can also feed fish here with food that can be bought for 10Baht at the entrance. In addition they have a small shop to buy refreshment and snacks. If you are planning to make your way up to level 5 make sure you bring enough water as it is a quite exhausting way. You can also swim here if you want. The water is cool and refreshing. Food is not allowed after level 1 so make sure you eat before you go further. There is a checkpoint after level 1 where you have to deposit your food to make sure no food goes further than level 1 but you are allowed to bring water. Entrance fee for adult foreigners is 300 Baht and for kids 150 Baht. For thai nationals it is 60 Baht and 30 Baht for kids. Vehicles are 30 Baht and motorcycles 20 Baht

About an hour drive from Hua Hin city central to this local waterfall. The waterfall is under the park ranger maintenance and control. Theres small fee for enter. Its a great place to bring family for the time together. We visited during long weekend and theres were lots of local, foreigners and Bangkok people.

Nice drive to the park from Hua Hin on a winding small road. 300 Baht entrance fee for non-Thais and 30 Baht per car. I picked a rainy day, which had the advantage of the park being very quiet. At most of my walk I was alone. Disadvantage is that the rocks are extremely slippery. Friendly NP staff. Some signs are just in Thai and there was no mobile signal, so I couldn't translate it. If I understand it correctly, there is NO food or drinks allowed past the second waterfall. It's a sweaty and very slippery climb though.

Very nice area with a lot of places to enjoy and rest in the cool forest. Wished you could even go more up, the adventure was limited up to stage 4. IMO there are too many fish, which makes it a bit difficult to get into the water. We have been there on a weekday and we’re lucky that the were not many visitors. Unfortunately they did not excepted my Thai ID card, as was mentioned wherefore I had to pay the high farang entry fee. But have to confess, it was worth it!

Pa La-U Waterfall, entrance fee 60 baht, transportation fee 30 baht, great atmosphere, very natural, clear and cool water, the way up to the waterfall is not difficult, some rocks are quite slippery, so shoes must be suitable and have good grip.

The path is quite slippery and challenging. A little climb on rocks along the way. There re 5 floor of waterfall. I recommend 5th floor to enjoy less people and swimmable pool.

Lovely river hike upstream. I climbed to level 5 on many past occasions, but had to stop at level 3 yesterday due to rain/ wet and slipper rocks. Loved it still!

This is a somewhat remote location in the hills near the Myanmar border. There is a trail up to the biggest cascade that is steep and slippery in places but has had ropes put in place to assist you in the spots where you have to scramble up the most. The hike up and back is a nice workout. There are a few nice pools to swim in but there are a lot of fish loitering around looking for a handout and that can be a little off-putting despite what their presence indicates about the cleanliness and health of the water stream. They are fun to watch ascending the cataracts, though. There are several species of butterfly up there and don't be surprised if they land on you looking for salt from your sweat. People seemed pretty conscientious about their trash here, for the most part, but if you bring a bag and schlep some out that you might inevitably stumble across, you will be rewarded greatly by the Great Karma Chameleon of the Universe. We try to get up here a couple of times of year because it is such magical and beautiful place. Definitely, one of my favorite spots in Thailand.

Nestled within Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, Phraya Nakhon Cave is a breathtaking natural wonder. The cave's enormous chamber houses the exquisite Kuha Karuhas Pavilion, a historic royal structure dating back to King Rama V's reign. Sunlight filters through the collapsed roof, casting an enchanting glow on the pavilion and creating a magical ambiance.
Very beautiful cave. Highly recommend a visit. You can either go by car or by boat. If you take the boat you skip the initial 500 hike which is quite steep. If you arrive by car there is plenty of parking space and vendors that sell water. Make sure you bring enough water! Second part of the hike is uphill quite steep but doable. You will be rewarded with great views at the end of the trail. Stunning views of the sun shining through the cave ceiling. Well worth a visit. There are toilets and restaurants on the beach at the base of the climb

This is one of the "must" sites to see along the upper gulf coast. Although you may have to really earn it. We went on October 22nd which was a nice hot day after quit a few wet ones. The boats would not run in the stormy seas so you will have to hike the first leg by the park entrance. Fee is 200 for foreigner, 100 for Thai. The hike can be strenuous if either physically limited, or have any ailments. After the first "up to the viewpoint" and down the backside you come up to the beach. A nice secluded shell filled beach that leads you to the one again strenuous (only because the humidity helps the sweat pour out) hike up towards the cave. The well maked path takes to the first cave system once the jagged limestone path levels off. Then down through a cave opening to the grand entrance of Phraya Nakhon Cave. The lighting causes for a very dramatic backdrop to the shine. Quite spectacular. And the temperature in quite nice dropping at least 8 to 10 degrees Celsius lower than the outside temperature. On a Wednesday it wasn't really crowded and with patience can have the whole place to yourself for the perfect photo opp.

You need to be fit, children can do it as well. Ways down and up are with stones. The first mountain can be down by boat if the waves are not to high, u arrive rhen directly on the beach and miss the views from the first mountain. At the beach there is a good restaurant with good drinks and they toilettes. From there u can start the second mountain when u made it, there is only ashort way down tonrhe cave entry. First of all, this cave is part of the Khao Sam Roi You national park. I recommend starting your day at the national park's ticket office. The ticket you buy here is valid for more than one attractions. I started my day with the mangrove forest around the ticket office area, then visited the Khao Daeng Viewpoint, after this Klong Khao Daeng (the boat trip price is not included in the ticket) and my last stop was Phraya Nakhon cave. I was riding a motorbike between the places. The cave can be reached by boats or walking. The motorboats are very loud and I prefer walking anyway so I hiked to the cave. Please note that it is a 2km distance. The first part of the road follows the sea shore, with wonderful views. It goes uphill first and then down to the beach. It is a bit rocky and you will definitely sweat a bit climbing here. Through the beach, you walk on flat surface among trees and sand, it is very pleasant (apart from the loud boats arriving every minute). Someone put swings on trees next to the beach, you may take nice photos here. There are also cafes and restaurant, bathrooms here to refresh if needed. The next part of the road takes you through a small forest part - apply mosquito repellent here if you haven't done it yet, they attack straight away! At the end of the forest road, you will see a big sign with many rules (how to dress, behave and so on) and a warning to understand your physical capabilities or limitations - because the next part of the road is very challenging. From now on, the road is mainly uphill on the natural terrain which has some steps built but it is mainly rocky and steep, sometimes a bit slippery. In the hot weather, it's not easy to complete the climb. Halfway up on the hill, you will find a resting stop with benches. The park also stations a first aid team here, which is reassuring. They are on standby for any emergencies or injuries. Also they sell (expensive) water. After climbing for about 500 meters, the last part of the road is finally downhill, believe me, you'll be grateful for that 😁 Please make sure you are dressed modestly to respect the Buddhist principles before entering the cave. The entrance is already impressive. I haven't seen a forest growing in a cave yet. The temple is in the second hall of the cave and if you are lucky, the sunshine will illuminate it. When I was there, I could admire it completely alone (low season) and it was a wonderful experience.

Wonderful sight to behold. The way there comprises 2 climbs with a walk along a beach in between. The climbs are treacherous but I saw many out of shape people and a few with difficulty in walking also doing it. Along the first climb, you'll be treated to magnificent views of the sea and beach. When you finally reach the cave, it's a spectacle to marvel. They've built a shrine in the cave and there are more things to explore once inside the cave. It's definitely worth the effort. This is something not to be missed.

Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, loosely translated as "the mountain with 300 peaks," is a 98-sq-km marine national park featuring white sand beaches and the renowned Phraya Nakhon Cave. The park offers diverse attractions such as pools, swamps, caves, and abundant wildlife, making it an ideal destination for families. Bueng Bua within the park is a stunning sight worth visiting, offering boat tours through the fresh-water marshland.
This was my 3rd time here. I’ll never get tired of coming back and means a lot to me! Magical place! This is a place the requires a lot of walking, up and down the mountain, make sure you’re fit enough to walk for a long distance in the heat, but once you arrive to the center inside the mountain, you can chill with the amazing views!! Loads of steps up and down but half way you got toilets and a nice restaurant to refresh with food and drinks. Also toilets. Half way there is a beach too. You can also take the boat the other way around making it easier to reach the beach (half way)

There are so many different places that you can experience in this National Park.It was so much fun. We decided that we were going to do the one hour boat tour. The mountains are just stunning and the views are beautiful. Be careful with the monkeys. They're very aggressive with food.If they see you have anything, they'll try to take it from you.If your car is open. They will go in your vehicles and they will climb on your vehicles.

This is definitely worth checking out while you’re in Hua Hin! It’s a bit of a “hike” (I used quotes because it’s mostly stairs 🤷‍♂️), but totally worth it, but here a a couple of things to know before you go. First, you have a choice of walking/hiking there or taking a boat. I took the boat cause I wanted to be on the water, beach is so beautiful here. If you take the boat, bring sandals because you must walk into the ocean a bit to climb onto the boat. If you walk, it looks like an equally beautiful walk; the natural landscape here is beautiful. One last tip: while in line, a local asked us if I wanted to split the cost of the boat with her and her daughter. I agreed (if I recall correctly, paid 200 of the 400 TBH total), and this is an important point. This very cool and nice local girl informed me that she was happy I agreed because she claimed that the people operating the boat-ride service will often try to add a lil foreigner tax if you’re not in the “know.” She told me that they will usually tell foreigners that it is 400 TBH per person, when the actual cost is 400 TBH total for the ride, which can be split amongst the passengers in anyway they see fit. Ergo, according to this cool local girl I was fortunate enough met there, if they tell you that it’s 400 per passenger, it’s definitely a foreigner tax haha 🤣. Back to the “hike”, I wore sandals to get on the boat and for the hike, and I was totally fine. I’m not the Michael Phelps of hiking nor anything like that 😝 , just saying that if you’re concerned, might wanna bring a towel and a pair of shoes to change into after the boat ride. Like I mentioned earlier, it’s mostly stairs you’re climbing, but they are stairs carved out of rock or made of wooden logs, you know like almost kinda like “natural” stairs, not something built from Home Depot supplies. The “stairs” are often uneven, slippery, jagged, etc., but I did it in sandals and I’m a 40+ yr old dood, so…. It is not the shortest “hike” haha and it can get hot af, so bring water. Once you get to the end, totally worth it tho. There’s a couple of fake/statue monks on display in the cave so don’t let those freak you out haha 😂. But yeah fr tho, totally worth it. Once you’re back to the beach the boat dropped you off at, there’s a really good local restaurant there selling some delicious, grub food there. So after the “hike”, grab some good local eats and a fresh coconut water 😋. One last thing, when we first arrived, I was instructed to remember the number of the boat that dropped me off, which I did, but didn’t seem to matter later 🤷‍♂️ but might be a good idea to jot it down somewhere for Justin (just in case lol). Enjoy your trip. @CBD-travelchannel

Kui Buri National Park

National park
Nature & Parks
Kui Buri National Park is a verdant forest with scenic driving tours that offer glimpses of Asian elephants and other wildlife. I had an enjoyable journey there with a close friend, where we encountered wild bulls and Thai elephants residing near local homes and pineapple farms. The fresh air was invigorating, and camping amidst the greenery was an unforgettable experience.
We stayed at Vana Varin, and the receptionist there helped us find the taxi driver that drove us to the national park and waited about 3 hours for us, while we took the Safari, and drove us back to the hotel, except we asked him to recommend a restaurant for him to leave us at instead.. this service cost baht 2600. Tickets to enter the national park were baht 200 p/person, and we had to pay an additional baht 850 for one of their vehicles with driver, plus a guide. We also hired a pair of binoculars for baht 50. This was a memorable experience, as we sat in the back of an open vehicle and drove through vast amounts of forest looking for elephants.. apparently there are around 300 elephants in the national park. We were so lucky to see 11 elephants, and they are roaming 100% freely.. we were not even permitted to stand downwind from the elephants and had to keep our distance. The setting was stunning. Our guide was friendly.

We did the wild elephant watching in Kui Buri National Park and it was incredible! We came here to the enterace first for information then headed to the elephant watching area to buy tickets. Don't fall for the tours if you're staying in Hua Hin, they're over priced. We hired a car between 3 of us which was 1500 baht, then 200 baht per person for park enterance, and 850 baht for the truck, driver and guide between us. Our guide and driver were great and we were lucky enough to see about 20 wild elephant as well as other animals!

Excellent experience and a highlight of our Thailand trip. We had our own car which made getting to the park much easier and cheaper than a private tour. We arrived at 2pm and set off into the park straight away. After a short trip we were guided to a group of 25+ Elephants. Couldn't recommend this highly enough.

Visited October 23, 2025: Wow. This was an INCREDIBLE National park! We booked a private tour through Viator with Ken Diamond Tour Hua Hin (about $140/person for park entry, private 4x4, dinner, English speaking guide, and transportation to and from Hua Hin). Our guide accompanied us on the drive through the park so we could ask questions in English. Because it was just us, we were able to take our time at every stop we made. I would have not enjoyed this experience as much in a shared group 4x4. Because we booked a tour with transport, I can’t speak for the process of getting your tickets at the park, getting assigned a 4x4, or the English proficiency of the drivers and park staff who accompany you as our guide took care of everything and made it seamless. (I would recommend a guide). But the experience was incredible. The park scenery is absolutely stunning. We saw so many gaur and their babies and 3 male elephants from afar! We were grateful to see any at all as we knew the possibility of seeing none. We stopped at 4 or 5 different spots. The drive was 7km into the park, and 7km back out the same way so you have the chance to check out viewpoints again to see if more elephants have come about. The staff are always talking to each other on radio to alert elephant sightings to make sure you see them (if there are any). Binoculars are 100baht in the visitor center where the tickets are purchased. Get the big ones, we used them a lot! This is a big park with a lot of thick trees and greenery for them to hide in. It was fun seeing the elephants little trails through the brush off the sides of the roads, and knocked over trees and branches. Signs they are around! The weather was perfect on the day we visited. Sunny and very windy so it was almost chilly by sunset! Not too hot at all, even when we started at around 3pm. But I recommend good sun protection since the 4x4’s are open to the elements. We had UV protection jackets and hats, plus a lot of sunscreen. The vehicle we were in had 3 umbrellas so if it were raining we would have had protection too. I can’t speak for that in all national park trucks though. There are toilets in decent condition by the visitor center. They have toilet paper! I also want to add - I’m surprised and saddened by a lot of negative people in the reviews here who can’t appreciate a place for what it is. The entire point of visiting a national park, to MAYBE see elephants, is that these beautiful animals are WILD and untouched by humans (as they should be) vs the unfortunate alternative of abuse and tourism cash grabs that is rampant in this part of the world (riding, bathing, unethical practices). If in the event you don’t see any, but you can’t find beauty in the other animals, birds, insects flying around, plants, and scenic beauty, that’s a YOU problem. If you do see some but at a very long distance and complain that there aren’t roads to get you selfishly closer to them or you can’t appreciate the fact that your own two eyes, even with binoculars, have seen these endangered animals live their lives safely from afar, that’s a YOU problem. Everyone should know the risk of price vs not seeing any elephants here, or seeing them from several hundred meters away. It’s luck! Enjoy the experience! ❤️

If you want see elephants in Thailand, this is the ONLY place to do it. Eco tourism at its finest, most of Asia should take a big example from this institution. An abandoned setting deep in the jungle near the Burmese border and limited daily visitors allow this national park to flourish like almost none in the region. There’s only a 7.5km dirt road with four viewpoints along the way, to stop and lookout. It never feels overcrowded, it never feels like too close to disturb the animals natural behaviour. That being said, 100 Baht rent for binoculars is money well spent. We were able to 17 wild elephants, countless Gaurs and lots of birds including hornbills, eagles, kingfishers and egrets in the short span of only 3-4 hours. Please support this place instead of visiting any of the countless Thai elephant “sanctuaries”. This is how animal tourism should be!

We went wild elephant watching at Kui Buri National Park! The park entrance fee was 200 baht per person, and the truck with a driver and guide cost 850 baht in total. Our guide and driver were fantastic, and we were lucky enough to spot around 40 wild elephants, along with other wildlife. We patiently tracked and waited for the elephants, and late afternoon turned out to be the perfect time for it. We also got a close look at a hornbill, some deer, and junglefowl. Worth a visit. Best either you hire a car to get here as town is not that close. I would love to visit again.

A must-visit for wildlife lovers! Driving through scenic forest trails, you’ll have the chance to spot majestic wild elephants grazing peacefully and herds of gaur roaming the open grasslands. The park is home to hornbills, deer, and many other species, making every visit a true safari experience in Thailand. The peaceful atmosphere, stunning mountain views, and close encounters with nature make Kui Buri an unforgettable adventure.

It's a good choice if you want to see elephants, we saw about 4 different groups on a pretty short trip. The guides were nice too and were clearly doing their best to help us see as many elephants as possible.

Khao Chong Krachok

Mentioned on

Mountain peak
Nature & Parks
Khao Chong Krachok is a monastery located on a hill, accessible by climbing nearly 400 steps. The ascent offers stunning views of the coastline from the top. However, visitors should be cautious of the mischievous and disease-carrying monkeys that inhabit the area. Despite this, the friendly monks maintain cleanliness by sweeping the stairs daily. The temple itself is monkey-free due to protective measures in place.
This was a really beautiful viewpoint in Prachuap. Great view from over the white beach and the sea. To get there is a bit of a challenge. It's a quite steep hike upstairs while avoiding monkeys in the meantime. Downstairs are sticks available for if the monkeys will bother you, but I went without and it wasn't really a problem.
Jonathan O — Google review
I had the opportunity to visit this Temple in Prachuap Khiri Khan and can say that it was an unforgettable experience. Climbing the 396 steps was a bit of a challenge, but the view that awaits you at the top makes every effort worth it. The view of the surrounding landscape and the sea is breathtaking and ideal for photos. I found the quiet atmosphere particularly pleasant. The monkeys that live on the way to the temple complex were peaceful and not at all intrusive - they seem to be used to visitors and are not disturbed. This adds to the relaxed mood of the place. The temple itself is also very beautifully designed and invites you to linger. It is a perfect place to experience the culture of Thailand while enjoying nature. I can recommend a visit to Wat Ao Noi to anyone who is looking for both variety and a wonderful view. A real insider tip in Prachuap Khiri Khan!
Matt E — Google review
Great view but make sure to pick a walking stick from the entrance to walk up along with as there are lots of monkeys. When our little girl tried to drink some water, the monkeys tried to attack and we didn't have any stick to scare them away so we didn't go till the top but it's a great view from view point 1,2 and 3.
Lelles T — Google review
Very worthwhile. World class. Rain or shine this is a must see. Do not bring plastic bags. If you are scared they have a big stick you can tap the ground with to tell the monkey no.
Dornia — Google review
Worth the climb up 300+ stairs - the views are fantastic. At the bottom of the stairs, they have bamboo sticks for you to carry to keep the monkeys from jumping on you. It seems just carrying the stick (and keeping all food and water bottles zipped in your pack) is enough to keep them away. When you get to the top of the stairs, there's a closed gate, but don't turn back - it's unlocked. Go through the gate and enjoy views of two bays, the city of Prachuap, and the mountains separating Thailand and Burma. Explore around a bit - there are two other gates, one leading to a small cave, and the other leading to another view point, accessed by climbing down a steep metal ladder. Overall it's worth the effort to climb up here, but as for the temple itself, it's small and not so ornate. Lots of monkey poop on the stairs as well.
John K — Google review
Don't do what I did and hike this route in the middle of the day. It was like a suana. Short 10mins hike, the monkeys are pretty tame. Bring tapping stick provided at the bottom of the path to ward off unwanted attentions. The view up the top is majestic. Definitely worth the hike. Tip there is 3 different paths up to the top. Enjoy.
Nisit P — Google review
Beautiful views from the top. Very friendly monk too. They keep the stairs clean by sweeping each day. The monkeys are great, but aren't afraid of humans in the slightest. You'll have to walk around them as you go to the stairs. The temple itself doesn't have any monkeys, which are kept out with a wire door and electric fences. To find the Chong Krachop view, you have to go out the door at the North side, down the path, and then down the ladder. Not for those who are scared of heights.
Anthony H — Google review
We went around 4pm and made sure to take a stick with us (lots available at the entrance). Monkeys were calm and didn’t bother us. Easy walk up the steps and nice views at the top. Worth the effort.

Royal Thai Air Force Corps, Wing 5 is home to Ao Manao, also known as Lime Bay. To access the beach, visitors must enter through the base entrance and register with the military. The process involves providing personal details such as name, nationality, passport number, and entry/exit times. However, there seems to be little verification of this information. The area is kept clean by the military presence.
Beautiful beach and nature surrounding which once used to be the historical base of world war II. And the atmosphere on those day are still remained. We are appreciated to be there. Thanks with regards to Air force Division 5 for open to public with a friendly smile of soldiers, they are warm and thoughtful.

Ao Manao beach is a stunning location in Thailand that often escapes the attention of tourists. Despite this, it undoubtedly ranks as one of the country's most picturesque beaches. The wide expanse of clean sand and shallow waters make for a beautiful setting to relax and take in the natural beauty around you. However, visitors should be aware that the beach closes at 6 pm, so it's important to plan accordingly to ensure you have ample time to enjoy everything it has to offer.
What's not to LOVE! After 4 months of travelling through Indonesia Malaysia & Thailand, this is one of the best beaches we have come across; definitely ranked in our top five matching the Gili Islands. Access 6am to 6pm as Military owed Air base. Toilets/showers, eateries, chairs/shade. Do tend to lose the sun about 4pm during February which then brings locals down to the area... beautifully gorgeous, as are the sunrises. Safe access to sandy warm waters.
Skram J — Google review
Big disappointment. Great for pictures and for eating cheap. Windy, hard sand, water not inviting at all. You don't see 1 person in the water, not to say swimming. The mountains around are beautiful. And the city itself, dead. Which l felt very bad for the locals. Tons of places to eat and tons of places to stay ( search on your own before booking anywhere) but all empty. The fisherman's village( very north of the bay) is the best place to stay. Stunning view, very charming, not windy and the restaurant Lung Yai Pu Pen has amazing seafood, ocean front close to the nature reserve. Was our spot for 1 week, last one of the year. Other than that...will not come back.

Very nice beach with clear waters and small ripples. The views are amazing and the area is relatively clean. You can rent a chair with table and it’s shaded well 20b. They also sell food, drinks and have toys you can rent like small/large inner tube floats 20b/50b. Jet ski rental and banana boat ride. Food and drinks are reasonably priced for the beach. Highly recommended

Beautiful beach. Perfect pit stop if you're driving down the gulf of Thailand. Came midweek and it was so peaceful and quiet. On the whole stretch, only saw about 5 other visitors. Note the beach is on a military site so you have to pass a checkpoint, but the guards were very friendly. Opens 6am to 6pm. Lots of food and drink stalls line the beach. If you come from the Prachuap Khiri Khan town side, you'll get to drive across a runway, which is very cool.

Firstly you should come early in the morning so you can enjoy the silence and spirit of that stunning tempel. There is a big golden Buddha next to the car park , and after that take a short walk up to the main temple. It looks amazing from the outside, but make sure to go up to the second floor as well where you will find some jaw-dropping panoramic views, with great photo opportunities.

Koh Talu Island Resort

Islands
After reading reviews I was doubting about visiting this place… but absolutely worthwhile to visit. Great Island with a fantastic white beach and and great snorkeling opportunities right next to the beach. Perfect thai food, people are proud on what they cook! Staff is very friendly. People who really look for an luxury environment should not go here: the rooms are perfectly fine, but need some refurbishment, same like the pool and other things on the island. But if you can look past these flaws, you will have a great stay! No doubt about it!

Are you looking for a relaxing place with all the comforts? Koh Talu is the place for you. Everything was perfect. Very helpful, kind and smiling staff. The girls at the reception are lovely and helped me in different situations. The manager, mister Thu, makes you feel at home. I completed the open water diver course. The people at the restaurant are very sociable. I spent some wonderful moments at sea with the guys from the dive center, mister Boy and Egg. The food is very good. The bungalows is simple and very comfortable. There are many activities ideal for 3 days: snorkelling, kayaking, fishing, sup, turtle, trekking in the jungle to see the sunrise etc etc Thank you so much See you soon Koh Talu

Staying here at Koh Talu was one of the best experiences/ trips I have ever done. I stayed here 3 nights and I can’t wait to come back again. I went snorkeling many times, I went fishing, I went kayaking, i hiked to a viewpoint , I relaxed in the beautiful beach. I went octopus fishing and caught 4 octopus and they made sashimi for us. Also they have a spot for sea turtle conservation. I fed the turtles fish. It was really cool. The food everyday was incredible, 3 times per day. There was so much food, fruit, deserts. All the workers are friendly and took good care of us. The room was nice and cozy. The AC was good. Everything was clean. Mr. Tu took care of everything on the island and made sure the stay was incredible. Honestly this is probably my favorite spot in Thailand now

Not sure what scam they are running but I hope this review gets managements attention We were a family of 9 that was looking forward to visit the island and I was looking forward to do an honest Google and Youtube review. However the trip ende before even starting because of their dishonest pricing and conflicting information. On their website all prices and information are clearly stated. On the website it also says: "Exclusive Privilege for Koh Talu On Shore Guests. Enjoy an easy day trip to Koh Talu — just 20 steps from the hotel to our private pier and a 20-minute boat ride — at a special price of only 1,200 THB (regular price 1,600 THB) for guests booking through Direct Booking only." I reached out to their sales office by e-mail to make a reservation for hotel and daytour and received this reply: "The One Day Trip price to Koh Talu that you saw is indeed a special rate, but it is only available when booking directly through our website. If you are interested, you may proceed to book your room along with the day trip activity directly on our website. " So as instructed I followed the information and downloaded Line and sent a reservation request online. They did anwser fast but wrote: "Sorry, what you see is an old promotion and the price is not available during long holidays." I am sorry to say that these conditions were nowhere stated on their website and as the mistake is apparently on their side they should honor it. Being 9 adults a 400thb difference still ends up to be quite much. Due to all this, we decided to cancel everything and spend our money somewhere else as I do not believe this was properly managed by the resort.

Took a day trip, arranged by the resort. The service was good and the island was beautiful. It’s a good day trip from Hua Hin for anyone who wants an island adventure. The speed board was smooth and not crowded. The buffet lunch was good and had good selection. The turtle sanctuary was quite interesting and had many turtles to see. Was please to see some newborn turtles about to be released. It’s a good conservation effort and well worth a visit.

Krom Luang Chumphon Khet Udomsak Shrine is the biggest among several shrines constructed by a Thai prince. It serves as a place of homage to the 'Father of Thai Royal Navy', Prince Chumphon, who passed away at Hat Sai Ri. The shrine is situated near a navy ship which tourists can visit and there is also an exhibit showcasing the biography of the prince. Moreover, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the beach's cool breeze.
Krom Luang Chumphon is a well-known and respected Royal pricee from King Rama 5. The sailers do pray to him prior the sailing. He is the sea/ ocean protector for Thai fishermen. The place is nice, clean and not far from the city center. It is about 30 mins by car.

Being that my wife is ex army - her mother & father ex army and grandfather also so when we tripped through Chumpon this apparently was a place we had to stop. The shrine is dedicated to Admiral Phrachao Boromwongse, His Royal Highness Prince Aphakorn Kiatwong Krom Luang Chumphon Khet Udomsak", the son of King Rama V "Chulalongkorn" and "Chao Chom Mode", the mother. His former name was "Prince Aphakorn Kiatwong". The story here is that he is credited with being instrumental in the formation of a formal Navy for the Kingdom ( as best I understand it anyway 😀) New navy recruits, fishermen or pretty much any persons involved in any branch of maritime related duties or profession. It is believed that coming to the shrine for worship provides protection from the "wilds" of the sea. When we were here (sunday), the place was jammed. With all of the above said, the shrine is located on a small hill overlooking the bay surrounded by a small rampart with cannons. Further, there is a navel vessel On display that looked WW2ish, but I could be wrong. In general, it was enjoyable. We gave our respects with incense and a red rose. Looking around at those in attendance, I couldn't help but feel the deep respect and thoughtful prayer I was sure was going on. Loads of parking, beautiful views, and some really nice culture to take in. Highly recommend.

Krom Luang Chumphon Khet Udomsak Shrine (พระตำหนักกรมหลวงชุมพรเขตอุดมศักดิ์) is a revered landmark in Thailand, dedicated to Admiral Prince Abhakara Kiartivongse, the father of the Royal Thai Navy. Located in Chumphon, this shrine holds cultural and historical significance. It is both a tribute to the Prince's contributions to the navy and a place of spiritual importance where locals and visitors come to pay respect and make merit. Visitors to the shrine find beautiful ocean views and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The shrine itself is adorned with statues and naval memorabilia, reflecting the Prince's legacy. It is also a popular spot for those seeking blessings, particularly for safe travels and good fortune.

We have been here with a guided tour in 3 small islands and 1 snorkeling spot and has been an amazing experience! The National Marine Park is pristine and you can visit from beautiful beaches to a breathtaking view points. We have managed to enjoy some relaxing time and to prove our self on really tough trails to reach the viewing points, but has been worth it! We have been so lucky to find monkeys with babies during one of thr trail and to see some huge and colored fishes in the snorkeling point. The emerald lagoon is amazing aswell! If you are here around you cannot miss this.

Amazing national park and must see when in the south of Thailand. Gorgeous views, clear water, many nice activities and many animals! Including cute monkeys. Do watch out that they don't take your stuff.

Absolutely stunning marine park with turquoise water, limestone islands, and breathtaking viewpoints. The scenery is incredible, both from the boat and from the hilltop trails. Snorkeling and kayaking are great ways to explore the area. Well organized tours and respectful handling of nature. A must-visit when staying around Koh Samui or Koh Phangan.

The view was absolutely breathtaking, a solid 10/10. But happy cardio to climb in 500 M. 🤪 I’m so grateful to have had the chance to experience such beauty in my lifetime. It really highlights how important it is to have a climbing partner who can encourage you along the way. 💗

Wide variety of activities to do from hiking to scenic viewpoints, swimming, snorkeling, hanging out at the beach, and watching wild life. Had a good experience traveling to this island from Koh samui via Grand Sea discovery.
David T — Google review
Wonderful trip, we got everything we needed, they took great care of us, Mr. Thai was very funny and kind, and his jokes made the whole day even better. The hike to the viewpoint took 20–40 minutes depending on experience and fitness level. A must-do is kayaking (if you don’t go kayaking, you’ll end up waiting on a crowded beach). We booked it through GetYourGuide.
Barbora Č — Google review
My honest review would be that I was not expecting this tour to be as exhausting as it was. I appreciate the operator and the tour guides, and the views are nice. However, the travel time from the pier to the first island is quite long, which already drains my energy. Then, the nature trail to the viewpoint is another exhausting one. The tour guides can mention in advance that if they are interested, they can hike. I cannot recommend this tour to those who are weak in endurance. Plus, I think the trail is not just 500 meters long. So, I decided to go down after the next stop. There is less time at the beach to explore and swim. The lunch provided is so-so. The kayaking was also too much with the distance. It was quite exhausting, and we were not informed that it would be very far, plus the waves were strong. If you can find another island tour aside from this, I recommend choosing that instead.

The Smiling Seahorse is a popular choice for liveaboard diving trips in Thailand. Guests have raved about the unique and spectacular dive experiences, particularly enjoying the sunset and black water dives. The boat itself is praised for its comfortable, modern cabins, spacious dive deck, and large social areas.
This is the third time for my partner and first for me in this liveaboard and I can see why she wanted to return. Everything is thought through looking for their guests to have the best possible pleasant, easy and enjoyable vacation in the middle of the sea. The whole staff is very friendly and ready to help, the food is amazing and the equipment and boat are well maintained. Zero complaints!

Fantastic trip highly recommended for any dive trips in Thailand. The staff is fantastic and extremely helpful. The dives were amazing and dive guides helped make them even more memorable pointing out the magnificent sea life. I can't say enough good things about this liveaboard operation.

Boat owner Frank and his awesome crew made our first liveaboard experience one to remember! We had a great time. The diving was unbelievable and the dive team were super knowledgeable and helpful. The food was great and varied and our cabin did the trick. We highly recommend Smiling Seahorse!

Was on a trip with the Smiling Seahorse in late January. Highly recommend!! The staff were wonderful, the food was great, dive sites were incredible. The boat staff really had the vibes right. Overall had a great experience, a ton of fun. Would absolutely do it again.

My first live aboard trip and it was fantastic! The boat is comfortable, there is a much appreciated photo room and the food was good. I am especially grateful for the vegetarian choices! Franck and the team put a lot of thought into the itinerary and for being back to Myanmar after 3 years of covid pause, it was really exciting. The spontaneous trips to land (beach and temple landing) was a great surprise and the guests loved it. The ship crew consisted of the friendliest and most attentive people I’ve met in a long time. They are a very big part of making the trip exceptional! The only thing which did not live up to the expectations was our Dive Guide. Sadly the only person on the boat, who had a hard time returning a smile and who wasn’t very engaging in the dives. That opinion was shared by his whole group and sadly took away joy from the experience. There was also a questionable decision in taking one claustrophobic diver (who mentioned his concerns beforehand) into an actual very narrow cave. Other than that a fantastic trip I can recommend to anyone!

The Smiling Seahorse Review My wife and I just spend an amazing week living aboard The Smiling Seahorse which took us through the many renown diving spots Thailand has to offer. The past 7 days, we sailed the Andaman Sea, stopping at busy Richelieu Rock by the Mu Ko Surin National Park and exploring the wonders of Ko Tachai and Ko Bon. We were amazed at the beauty of Breakfast Bend (3 trees), the imposing Elephant Rock (Hin Pusa) and Shark Fin Reef (Hin Phae) dive sites off the coast of Mu Ko Similan National Park. We were greeted by superb Oceanic Mantas at Red Rock (Hin Daeng), Purple Rock (Hin Muang) right in the Strait of Malacca and gasped at the grandeur of Cathedral (Koh Haa Yao). Last but not least, Ko Li Pe delivered schools of Fusiliers, Trevalis and Small Tooth Emperors reigning over the rest of the innumerable schools of fishes at Stonehenge and 8 Miles Rock (Hin Paad Mile). The crew on board was the friendliest and always helpful, accommodating my wife’s (many) food allergies with kindness. Speaking of the food, the chefs on board are incredible and you are in for a treat after each dives (my favorite being the post-morning dive breakfast). Our cabin (number 1) was spacious with a large bed and ample space to organize and store our luggages away. The bathroom was clean and perfect for a week on board. The entire dive masters crew was always professional, taking the time to go over the dive plan, answering any concerns and helping locate and identify the many hidden wonders discovered during each dive. We highly recommend signing up for the black water dive if this is something you have never done as Franck (the owner) is an amazing photograph and will lead you through a new way to discover this part of the animal kingdom. Kudos to Franck and his team for organizing everything in a seamless fashion getting on and off the boat and everything in between. Thank you for having us, we’re looking forward to discovering Burma in a future adventure!

Best liveaboard trip I had ever since. The team is so energetic and hospitable. From the very start to the end of the Liveaboard trip they were consistently hardworking to offer the best experience of the dive. We had booked for the 10 day trip to the Mergui Archipelago (Burma). The office team had helped us greatly to clear all our documentation and immigration and visa formalities. The Hosts and dive team, the dive guides, especially to mention about the energetic Mr. James, Mr. Frank, Our Dive team leader and Guide Sophie and Mitsy, and Mr. Simon. Their energetic relentless efforts and made our trip a success and enjoyable also memorable. Also to mention the tiring and toiling efforts and cooperation of the Boat captain and the crew of M.V. Smiling Seahorse who manned and well maintained the boat always ready for action. As noteworthy point was that they had organised few classrooms for enhancing and updating our knowledge on the manta rays, which was very nicely delivered by the Thai manta expert, Ms. Jamie. We especially thank you for the sweet memories and bondings, we definitely be back again whenever possible. Many thanks indeed, and all the best for their future endeavours. P. S. - I was very excited also to attend the engine room tour of the boat. 😊

Frank the owner of the boat, a tall, French, fish loving guide, friend, and entertainer who walks around like the Thai fishermen wearing local clothes and a winter hat to keep the wind out of his ears, along with the crew gave a trip of a lifetime. Frank jumps in the water each day along with the divers purely because he loves diving and taking AMAZING pictures. He sat and talked to me about remedial camera skills, settings, and technique to take the best pictures even though his level of photographing is light years beyond what I’m doing. He is genuine, kind, insightful, and informative. You can tell that Frank loves being on the boat being with the divers, making friends and because of that you get treated like his friend from the food he plans like the barbecue night with massive ribs, chicken, and potatoes and opening some rum for everyone to enjoy (at no cost) as the music plays and people let their hair down. Then the final meal was mouth-watering steak, with pasta, and delicious veggies in a cream sauce. When you are treated like the owners good friend on the boat, you get the best of everything. Taking a trip on the Smiling Seahorse to me is like feeling that I should have had to pay more for the trip that I actually did. I love to get the best deal, even if that means having to put up with some not so nice things. This trip I feel like I got so much more than what I paid for. I cannot say enough about this trip. I’m sad it had to end and now any other live-aboard I go on in the future will have a very, very high bar. Thanks Frank and the team!

Was here in 2023. Here you can hire a local boat for 1200 THB to take you out to the bay to spot the pink dolphins. The best time go is in the morning, I came at 9am from Donsak. There were 3 of them swimming in tandem. น่ารักนา! Even if you do not spot any dolphins the ride out to the bay of Khanom is beautiful. The view is raw and untouched by tourism.

Quiet and Serene Beach. Soft sand. Entrance is narrow fit for one car one way. Concrete path with overgrown bushes. There is no sign that lead to the beach. Just follow Google Map after reaching end of village turn left. Good spot for fishing 🎣 at the end of the beach. Difficult trail lead to beautiful view.
Kenny C — Google review
The idea was to see the dolphins, we were totally to be there for 7-8 in the morning but got there for 9:30 waited a bit an a fishing boat came, it was 1000Bhat and they gave us life vest for the journey, it was a bit of a bumpie ride and we did get a little bit splashed but the views were AMAZING! It was a windy day so no surprise there we didn't see many dolphins however it was such a beautiful boat ride and the fisherman also took us to see the Pancake rocks ( only other place in the world to see it is New Zealand) it was worth it, BTW we went to the German restaurant straight after that was lovely as well, well worth it in total it took nearly 2 hours

Wat Phra Borommathat Chaiya is a stunning temple that showcases the rich heritage of the Srivijaya period. Nestled in Surat Thani, this ornate site features an impressive five-tiered chedi at its center, believed to house relics of the Buddha. Surrounding this central stupa are cloisters adorned with serene sitting Buddhas, creating a tranquil atmosphere perfect for reflection and worship.
A beautiful temple with a small but very interesting museum next to it. There is also a school with lovely architecture next to the temple.

I came here at 3 Dec 2022, not too much people but feel a bit humid and hot, no information to read , and it’s hard for Thais and internationals to understand this temple but u can text me to information. 108 Sacred ancient Buddha around stubas.

The big stupa which has the Buddha’s relics inside. The ultimately reflects the arts of the Srivijara period. built in the 13th-14th Buddhist Century. Beautiful and one of the best memorable to visit.

A must visit if you are interested in history, this is an amazing for me as I am particularly interested in Srivijaya period and I wish to know more about the history during that period of time. This nice Buddhist also house a school in a more traditional style. There is a the main hall (Viharn) with nice style of Buddha statues not seen in other places. The stupa /Chedi is so beautiful, which is believed to house the Buddha relics. There is a huge car park in the front area. Must check out the museum if you are interested to see items from prehistoric to 6th 7th 8th etc century. The museum is part of the National Museum in Bangkok, which I hope to visit as we have been told many original artifacts are housed in the National Museum. Enjoy your visit. The staff in the museum was so nice to introduce us to the history.

Surat Thani City Pillar Shrine, also known as San Lak Muang, is a well-maintained symbol of the city located in the heart of Surat Thani. The shrine is made entirely from the wood of the Golden Shower Tree and is beautifully lit up at night, resembling a castle from a Disney movie. It's open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and visitors can purchase flowers and incense sticks at the entrance.
Really cool. Free entrance. There were even people running around it while others were offering flowers and coloured stripes to the gods. A lovely place.

The moment you step inside, you can feel a unique energy flowing through the building—almost as if the very ethers are being pulled through its walls. This shrine holds an air of ancient wisdom, a quiet power that connects you to the deep history of the region. It’s not just beautiful; it’s a spiritual experience that invites reflection and awe. A must-visit for anyone seeking a connection to ancient knowledge and the tranquil energy of the past. 🛕

The Surat Thani City Pillar Shrine is a true gem in the city of Surat Thani and a place that every visitor should definitely experience. As soon as you enter the shrine, you will be amazed by the impressive architecture and tranquil atmosphere. The intricately designed statues and the loving attention to detail reflect the rich culture and tradition of Thailand. The central pillar, which is considered a symbol of the city, is particularly impressive. It is not only a spiritual place for the locals, but also a fascinating photo opportunity for tourists. You immediately feel the peaceful energy that surrounds this place and it is easy to get caught up in the moment. Many people come here to pay their respects and ask for luck for their families and friends. The location of the shrine is also excellent. Surrounded by lush greenery and close to several other important attractions, it is perfect for a relaxing stroll. Access to this sacred place is easy and the surrounding area is clean and well maintained. Overall, I highly recommend the Surat Thani City Pillar Shrine. Whether you are looking for spirituality, a cultural experience or just a peaceful place, this shrine offers all that and more. An absolute must for any Surat Thani visitor!

Nice little shrine to walk through if you’re passing by, but it’s not worth travelling for otherwise. The place is lit up beautifully at night although they close it so you can’t get close by. In daytime it’s nice to sit by for a short while and just relax as it’s very quiet without many visitors.

Khao Sok National Park, located in Surat Thani province, is a vast expanse of ancient rainforest and limestone cliffs. Visitors can spend their time hiking, exploring caves, and searching for wildlife. The park's Cheow Larn Lake offers surreal experiences with its mist-shrouded limestone formations and dense jungle surroundings. The area is home to diverse flora and fauna including monkeys, colorful birds, tigers, and unique plant species.
There are a handful of must-see places in Thailand, this is one, without a doubt. Doesn't matter if it's a day trip or overnight on the floating bungalows, do not miss this. A damn built in the 80s that basically flooded a whole region, so an artificial, giant lake in a biome that would normally not have one. Witness man playing God. Caves, jungle walks/hikes, wildlife, lush tropical forest and a cool story of how it all came to be. Words are hard to describe the enormity of this park and the awe you feel navigating it.

I would definitely recommend a day trip to this park, with its huge lake, when you are visiting the Khao Lok area. We had a guided day tour (which I would recommend to see everything) and it was a memorable and enjoyable trip. We stopped at the Three Sisters limestone formations for some photos, and cruised around the lake. We stopped at one of the numerous and unique floating hotels here for lunch, and did some swimming and kayaking. Definitely add it to your list of “must dos” when you are visiting Khao Lok.

I would definitely recommend doing a 2 day 1 night tour as you get to see loads of the national parks sights and you get to wake up on the lake which in my case was spectacular. However be prepared for very basic overnight conditions but it made no difference to us.

A beautiful park, I'd definitely recommend visiting if you're in Khao Sok!! Although everyone speaks about the lake tours as if this is the only activity in Khao Sok, we found this amazing park full of beautiful scenery of many types - a wild jungle, divine waterfalls & stunning rivers. Entrance fee is 200 baht per person, and you can either enter on your own and walk until a limited point (about 6km back & forth) or you can take a guide and walk further. If you do decide to take a guide, make sure to book them in advance. We decided to walk on our own, so we have more privacy, and it took us about 3 hours long, including some stops on the way, and dipping in the amazing Wing Hin waterfall. To conclude, if you're looking for a more unique and custom made experience in Khao Sok, this is definitely a most visit.
Maya I — Google review
While I loved the park and everything about it, I'd like to bring to attention this boatman guy/ guide, and request all to avoid him to have a stress free trip. This guy speaks no English, and if he does, refuses to talk- as a guide, that is one of the major things one should do. He smoked weed/ some narcotic, made us pay for kayaking (which we had already paid for to our tour operator) - since it was only a 100Baht per person, the three of us who had booked the boat privately paid again because this guy refused to communicate. At the caves, he walked on at his own pace, shining the light randomly, and made to exit within 5 minutes. Thankfully we latched onto another group who had an English speaking guide to make sense of the wonders of the cave. We managed to click a whipping scorpion and a cricket with that group- a stark difference. After leaving the cave, he stopped in the middle of the water to light another joint, at which point we thought it a good idea to fly our professional camera drone for some photography. As soon as our drone gained some height, the boatman moved the boat forward, when we shouted at him with sign language to stop the boat. While landing the drone, since the boat had moved, the drone fell into the water, just short distance from where the boatman sat. Had he not been stoned enough, he could have moved his hand and caught the drone. The drone fell into the water, the boatman looked at the drone, looked at us, and shrugged his shoulders as if to say, your problem. The complain I wish to raise, is that this guy was so stoned, that if a human would have fallen off, he would simply have let the person drown, despite wearing a life jacket and knowing how to swim. Since we had to leave to catch our connecting flight from Phuket to Chiang Mai, we didn't have time to officially complain. In case anyone reads this, please ensure to avoid this guide. For your own well being.

Khao Sok Elephant Sanctuary

Most amazing experience, the people were so kind and we fed the elephants lots of bananas and leaves. The elephants were clearly very loved and taken care of. The walk through the palm trees with them was so cool and at the end we had some lovely tea and biscuits and they dropped us back at the hotel!

We visited the sanctuary in April 2025. There are 3 old elephants, that are taken care of by the humans. They walk freely on the territory of the sanctuary and you can come, watch and feed them a couple times a day. Great experience of being next to these amazing creatures
Alla V — Google review
This was truly one of the most incredible experiences of our lives. At the sanctuary, we had the opportunity to care for these magnificent, gentle giants under the guidance of the sanctuary staff — or “rangers,” as I would gladly call them. The visit began with an informative session about the elephants — their nature, their past, and how many of them had been exploited by previous owners. We learned how harmful it is for elephants to be ridden or used for transportation, which sadly still happens in some places. Here, instead, we got to feed them and help wash them in the river. Getting up close to these amazing animals and interacting with them in such a respectful, natural way was truly unforgettable. One very important tip: bring clothes you don’t mind getting very dirty — think mud, water, and everything in between. Also, bring swimwear or a change of clothes. You’ll get soaked — and it’s absolutely worth it!
Fur K — Google review
Amazing experience. These elephants are so gentle. We fed them leaves and bananas, had a walk with them and just observed their behaviour. Their caretakers are also very gentle and love to explain the history of each elephant. Sadly there were 3 but one of them died 2 months ago. Take the 1,5 h tour, and support a good case.
Valerie A — Google review
Kind family that cares about the elephants. All three elephants have been rescued. The newest one had only arrived 10 days earlier and they were watching her carefully. We purchased the 1.5 hour tour and felt it was perfect for us. We took photos, touched, fed, and walked with the elephants.
Patti N — Google review
Amazing experience seeing these majestic animals in their natural habitat. This ethical Elephant Sanctuary treats the elephants extremely well, not allowing bathing with or riding the elephants. They were explaining very well about the elephants and you can clearly notice they care for them a lot. Hugely recommended if you want to see elephants, and you want to do it the right way! The people from the sanctuary were also extremely helpful and friendly, offering me a ride back to my hostel. Very pleasant experience!
Camille R — Google review
I went to the Khao Sok Elephant Conservation Centre with the excitement of meeting an elephant. The experience of seeing them and feeding them for a few minutes was amazing, but I believe it should not be daily or last so long. Seeing them for just a couple of minutes is more than enough. Interactions like bathing or hugging them are not part of their natural behavior and can make the experience worse, leaving visitors with a negative impression of the centre. Tourists who truly want to care for the elephants will pay for that anyway, and you should be more conscious in this regard and avoid forced interactions. Observing them from a distance and feeding them briefly is sufficient, respecting their life and wellbeing.
Yohanna C — Google review
Very good elephant sanctuary. Elephants are old. They are treated well and taken care properly. The property is large enough to care elephants. Staffs are kind and decent. Their programmes are well organised so there is no time for wasting. Elephants stroll and move freely even staffs don’t have sticks! I also participated in their day tour for lake. It was also great and cheap!

Bodies of Water
We had a great experience, the trip was an hour long, the guide was nice and showed us some birds, lizard and snake. In the dry season the river is not high and it’s better to come after 13pm

Really disappointed with this little Amazon tour. We bought a ticket for a canoe tour for 1000 bhat. You don’t see the river from the ticket area or we wouldn’t have bought tickets. We were then shocked to see how low the water level was. The tour guide was very friendly and nice, we do not feel it’s his fault as he wasn’t the one who sold us the tour. However, he literally had to drag the boat majority of the way as the water level was so low. We were scraped along the river bed most of the time which was very uncomfortable. He barely paddled as he had to walk pushing the canoe. We only got about half way down the river and had to turn back as the there was logs blocking the route. When we arrived back, the staff were aware how low the water level was. We asked for a partial refund, which they agreed to give us 300 bhat. Considering we only completed half of the route and we had been scraped the whole way by branches and rocks we didn’t think the refund was sufficient. We were then shocked when they offered a discount on a tour the next day! It’s ridiculous considering our experience they think we would come back and give them more money. Would not recommend.

We came in the morning, and the tide was high. We saw a few snakes sleeping in the trees, beautiful owls, a few crabs, and lots of birds and butterflies. It was a great experience. Our tour guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Totally worth it.

Really nice boat excursion. Saw heaps of birds and snakeswe went on a motorboat tour with our two kids but you can also get canoes. Definitely recommend! Note that there are two businesses next to each other. The other one was more expensive and aggressively tried to herd us into their premises using yellow flags.

very nice tour! our guide was very nice and took us directly into the mangroves to take cute photos. Unfortunately he spoke very little to no english. We booked a couple days in advance over whatsapp.

We had a lovely 1 hour guided canoe trip down the river and back with Moo. He was very informative and pointed out many mangrove snakes and a python resting in the banyan trees. The two thousand bhat price was a bit on the high side for what it was but we enjoyed it.

At first we saw their price was 500baht per boat for kayak, and 700baht for motor boat. It was from a Thailand tourism website, but they denied. They asked for 800baht for kayak, and 1200baht for motor boat. I think after we came they changed the details of the website and the Thailand tourism website were removed from the google map. We were on with the price but just feels that we were being cheated. And the couple that talked to us were very rude. Even with no wildlife to see in the afternoon, there’s just a bunch of trees and to experience the boat trip. We managed to see 3 snakes sleeping on the branches. The reason I gave only 2 stars, it’s because of the feeling of being scammed and the rudeness of the couple. Recommend: maybe. In the morning. Don’t come in the afternoon, it has nothing to see.

We came here with motorbike and paid 500baht for about 45 minutes on the little amazon. Our tour guide was really friendly. We saw monkeys, snakes and different birds too.It was a great experience.

The Ban Nam Khem Tsunami Memorial Center is a historical landmark located on a picturesque beach, featuring a curved concrete wall resembling a wave and adorned with a Buddha statue. The park serves as a touching tribute to the victims of the devastating tsunami. The design of the memorial center is impeccable, conveying both emotion and beauty in equal measure. Visitors can also enjoy refreshments at the small restaurant nearby, making for an all-around memorable experience.
A place filled with deep feelings of loss and hope. We visited the day before Songkham so families were there connecting with each other, eating food and remembering their loved ones. It was a very emotional visit.

Almost 20 years today, the destructive tsunami of 2014 that swept through Thailand made an impact on this small Ban Nam Khem village. Today the village housed the memorial of those perished on that faithful day. Nice beach, a restaurant and massage services for those who wished to relax by the beach.

This memorial in Ban Nam Khem, Thailand is a beautiful and moving tribute to those who were affected by the tsunami of 2004. It is a very peaceful, respectful place that honors the terrible tragedy that occurred in this part of the world. The monument is comprised of a single, tall, bronze sculpture that rises from the waters of the sea, representing a group of people, who were trying to escape the devastating tsunami. The memorial includes a plaque with the names of the victims and those who were killed or disappeared. The memorial also includes a bridge leading out to the statue that visitors can walk across to get a bird's eye view of the statue. The memorial is a touching reminder of the tragedy that took place that day and a sober reminder of the human cost of this disaster.

Glad I went to visit as I think it is important to remember and acknowledge the devastation the 2004 Tsunami caused across Southeast Asia, Sri Lanka and India. The memorial is a bit run down which made me sad. A number of the plaques with people's names are faded and there were line needles collecting on them. Still glad I went to visit.

Definitely worth a visit, don't forget to visit the museum a couple of minutes drive around the corner too

This is one of the 2 memorials along the coast of Phang-Nga district that remembers the many people who lost their lives in the Tsunami on 26th December 2004. There is a park and beach near the memorial with a large Buddha, and a small Tsunami information centre. The plaques along the wall of the memorial are there to honour each of the many local villagers and overseas visitors who perished on that fateful day. My wife spoke with a local woman walking near the beach who told her how she had lost 3 family members and still to this day cannot understand why she survived. Please don’t be put off by some of the negative comments about this is place it really is somewhere to come and reflect on the terrible tragedy, honour the loss of so many lives and a great example of nature’s awesome power.

Very moving memorial to the 4000 victims of the 2004 tsunami, the number of victims shows this area was particularly hard hit

Wat Rat Uppatham, also known as Wat Bang Riang, is a stunning temple complex located in southern Thailand. Perched atop Khao Lan Hill in the Thap Put region, this temple is famous for its giant seated Buddha statue and a statue of Kuan Im, the Goddess of Mercy. Visitors are drawn to the temple in hopes of receiving blessings for good luck.
Absolutely beautiful temple complex. A bit tricky to get to, but absolutely worth it. Leave enough time to walk to the Goddess of Mercy and golden Buddha if you can. Cute cafe for refreshments and lots of parking.

One of the most beautiful bhudda and guan yin temples on the mountains.

Unfortunatly the pics are mixed. You find here 1 temple and up the hill 4 more. Thus one is very nice, too.

The most beautiful place! There are 2 spots - wat at the begining of the hill (great boat with temple) and wat on top of the hill. They are close, but not in the same place. If you like to go where is amazing view you should take left road (when you are staying in front of first wat with boat).

Wat Bang Rieng Temple, is one of the most beautiful temple complexes in southern Thailand. After a winding ascent along a narrow mountain road you will be greeted by long stairwell adorned with serpents (Named Naga) which make up both sides of the walk way leading to the temple. The main temple building of Chedi Rat Uppatham is positioned at a height of over 100 meters. Sitting below there is a statue of a golden Buddha with snakes and a statue of the goddess of mercy Guanyin (Guan Yin), complete with it's own meditation room where the monks come to pay respect and meditate. The construction of the complex began at the behest of the King of Thailand, Rama 9 in 1986. The courtyard of this temple is decorated in traditional Thai style, and here you can see the various mythical creatures of the three-headed elephant Erawan, yakshas and the Garuda bird. From the courtyard you can enter Chedi, where the Buddha’s relics are located. Chedi is located on a high hill, so there opens a great view of the sitting Buddha statue and the Guanin statue against the background of the surrounding mountains and banana plantations. The inside is elaborately decorated with historical and culturally significant artwork central to the Buddhist religion. This temple is truly something to behold providing diverse architecture, numerous points of interest and amazing views. Well worth the visit. Remember to show respect and wear shirts that cover the shoulders and preferably longer shorts that come to knee length. If you don't have any of this with you then the temple has some pyjama style pants you can slip on.

Beautiful is the view from the top of this hill where a majestic temple has been built surrounded by hundreds of buddha decorations and statues.
